Remote Viewing: Very Creative Visualization |

Remote viewing has made headlines in recent years, as details of the Defense Intelligence Agency's Stargate program have emerged. The CIA acknowledged this clandestine program in 1995, yet a great deal of secrecy still surrounds it. |

Remote viewing was pioneered by a group of scientists in a government-sponsored program at Stanford Research Institute International (SRI) in California. Participants were taught to enter an altered state of consciousness, then trained to view places, situations, and people at a geographic distance in order to gather information. The government used this data to gain intelligence information on everything from distant activities and events to descriptions of weapons stockpiles. In other words, the government practiced psychic spying! |

One insider from the operation, David Morehouse, described his experience in his book Psychic Warrior: Inside the CIA's Stargate Program (St. Martin's Press, 1996). Morehouse was initially a commander of Ranger Company, an elite combat unit. In 1987 he was shot in the head during duty and, though he recovered physically, his injury brought a disturbing psychic wound. He had recurrent dreams telling him that he had chosen the wrong path, and that his was a path of peace. |

He kept these dreams secret: Exposing them would have ended his career. Several years later he was recruited for a top-secret unit requiring that he undergo a battery of psychological tests. During these tests he confessed to both the dreams and disturbing out-of-body experiences he was having. He expected to be given his walking papers, but to his surprise he was shown a file marked ''Top Secret/Grill Flame." The folder contained references to "viewers" and "monitors" who seemed to be seeing or visiting a site in nonphysical form. |

Morehouse was given more and more information about the psychic espionage program, learning that it had been in existence for 24 years. It was known by the names of Scanate, Grill Flame, Center Lane, and Stargate, to name a few. He joined the program and began a 10-month training session. |

He learned to enter an altered state of consciousness and to take mental journeys to other places. He would write down information about what he saw, tape-record it, and sketch it according to strict guidelines. He was discouraged from interpreting what he saw or using his imagination to elaborate further. Eventually he reached what he calls a "philosophical impasse with the unit." He believes that remote reviewing is a gift to be used to further humankind, not to be used as an espionage tool. |

Today, several laboratories as well as independent consultants are |

researching remote viewing. Its use certainly transcends espionage. In fact, |

you can try it right now by following this simple exercise. |
