One of the more popular theories today relies on principals of quantum mechanics. The idea is that all matter is made up of tiny bits of energy called quanta. These bits come together to form atoms that, in turn, vibrate at a unique level for every person and every thing. This level of energy vibration, called a frequency, is like a fingerprint that leaves its mark anywhere you've been. And anything that is part of you or closely associated with you (perhaps even your thoughts) also contains this mark. In that sense, your presence can spread much more broadly than your physical body. |

Another modern theory, posed by the British physicist David Bohm, combines relativity and quantum theory. The idea is that everything is made of energy. In essence, everything is energy, which runs throughout the entire universe simultaneously. This energy contains a deep level of consciousness that interconnects between everything, including an implicate (unseen) and explicate (physical) order. Regardless of whether this material or energy is consciously aware of its presence, this underlying conscious energy permeates and affects everything all at once. It is able to manifest itself in both the material and energetic realms via a means of holographic movement. |
