The Light of God surrounds me,
The Love of God enfolds me,
The Power of God protects me,
The Presence of God watches over me.
Wherever I am, God is. |

Contact: UFOs and Extraterrestrials |

At the opposite end of the uninvited guest spectrum are aliens. Technically, aliens span the gamut of any being that does not originate on planet Earth, whether it's as helpless as E.T. or as conniving as the extraterrestrials who abducted the Simpsons on the cartoon TV show The Simpsons. |

Whenever the concept of aliens comes up, the term UFO, or unidentified flying object, is almost sure to follow. The idea is that aliens from faraway galaxies are flying to visit planet Earth in spaceships that are so sophisticated, or traveling so fast, that a witness can't explain exactly what it was that they saw. And yet thousands of people have felt sufficiently puzzled by what they saw to call the authorities and give a report. |

This puzzle is not new to the 20th century. Indeed, back in A.D. 810, the emperor Charlemagne was thrown to the ground after his horse was startled by a silver ball that came hurtling out of the sky. (Surely, Charlemagne was a good enough rider that he wouldn't need to save face by coming up with an excuse like that!) |

Today science can explain many occurrences that once seemed phenomenal. (And until they can explain them, many scientists seem to prefer saying they don't exist, as is the case with psi. But we digress . . .) In recent history, one flying object appeared that seemed to stump authorities around the world. And it began the current surge of sightings that you continue to hear about today. This famous UFO is associated with the New Mexico town near where it landed: Roswell. |
