words were, ''I remembered this big house . . . ." Much to my embarrassment, I instantly burst into tears. I grabbed a piece of paper and drew out the floor plan of the house from my childhood dreams. It was the same house he saw in his regression.
What we were able to piece together from his past-life memory and my dreams were that we had been married in that life and had two young children. He discovered that I had been unfaithful to him with someone from the village and came to realize that he was not the children's father.
He had set the house on fire to punish mewithout realizing that the children were inside until it was too late. He remembers that he killed himself shortly after this. I remember being ostracized by the townspeople. I finally left that area and lived a few more years, wandering from town to town before experiencing an early death.
After bringing this to light, I saw the young man again only a few more times (in this life anyway), and I never had the "Mansion Dream" again. But what I learned was that in that past life I seemed to be someone who judged others; a very wealthy woman who seemed to live apart from what I considered the common folk. I thought that my way was the best way, and that God was on my side and had rewarded me with this life of privilege. After the fire, I learned that all I'd really had going for me was my material possessions, that I had no true friends, no real meaning in my life, and nothing of substance on an inner or spiritual level. Soon, though, I found myself among the commoners to stay.
I believe that what that life gave me was an understanding of people from all walks of life and an ability to see things from all sides. It also made me look at the issues of forgiveness and judgment. I find all these lessons to have been extremely helpful in the work I do now.
