So why are we telling you all this? Because these ancient beliefs about how energy travels through the body correspond to how modern medical science tracks the movement of messages throughout the nervous system. Not too shabby, eh? |

Today, magazines and medical journals are filled with studies that show how our mental states are linked to our physical conditions. Though this idea is becoming more generally accepted, theories abound on how this body-mind process operateseven among those within the fields of alternative health and psychic healing. The possibilities are endless. |

Here's a general overview of what many modern intuitives and psi researchers think is going on within the body and mind. Some suggest that a field surrounding and including the body is composed of information about the body and what has happened to it. This information is stored along body pathways that may extend beyond the brain (contrary to the accepted idea that the brain alone stores all memories). This body memory may even be stored in the individual cells. |

Mona Lisa Schulz, a practicing medical doctor who is also a medical intuitive, is a strong proponent of the idea that memories are encoded in the body itself. She explains that certain emotional situations cause the release of chemicals that travel through the body (as well as the brain). These experiences, via the chemicals, leave an imprint on the molecules that make up the tissue in an organ system within the body. Dr. Schulz reports that certain emotional issues affiliated with certain types of situations, leave their mark in specific organ areas. These organ areas actually correspond to the seven chakras, or emotional energy centers, of the ancient Eastern traditions. The following table shows you how certain emotional issues correspond to specific body areas. |
