Pure chance predicts that the correct image will be chosen one time out of four times, creating a 25 percent success rate. But the actual results of over 700 ganzfeld sessions, carried out by various labs, averages about 34 percent. This may not sound like a high number to you, but remember that it's a strong percentage above chance. Clearly, some sort of telepathy occurs among some of the subjects and senders.
Scientists use remote viewing experiments to measure whether subjects can obtain information without having a sender transmit it. One remote viewing experiment begins with someone who is not involved with the experiment selecting a photograph from a group of hundreds and setting it aside in a separate location. No one involved in the test sees this photo, but the subject then tries to describe its contents. This process may be repeated several times with various subjects and different photos during the experiment. At the end, a group of judges match up the subjects' descriptions with the available photos, to see how closely they meet the mark.
This test has been tried thousands of times at different laboratories over the past two decades, and the cumulative results indicate that sensitive subjects can perceive remote images, even without a sender involved. To add an interesting twist, some researchers have used a version of this experiment to have subjects describe photos that would be selected in the futureand they were right on target!
