Page 261 9. At the foot of the steps the old man explains that he is the guardian of the hall of records and he has been expecting you. He asks that you take a few moments to explain to him why you are here. You explain your quest for self-exploration and ask that you be shown a past life that will assist you in your self-understanding. The old man, bowing his head, listens attentively to your explanation and grants your request. 10. Now the old guardian beckons you to follow him. You seem to float behind the flapping tails of his robe as he sets off through the seemingly endless corridors, past shelf after shelf piled high with books. At last he halts before a door. He stands there for a few moments before pointing to another door he would like you to enter. 11. You are about to enter a past life when you walk into this room. You are completely safe as you observe your former self. Your guardian beckons you to open the door and walk in. As you do, you feel yourself changing as you step into a different time and place. 12. Take a few moments and observe who you are. Absorb what you see and feelcalmly, passively, and without emotion. In a few moments you will ask yourself some questions about what you are seeing; you will later remember everything you see and experience, but for now, simply observe your surroundings. What are you wearing? ______________________________________________ What fabric is your clothing made of?___________________________________ Are you wearing anything on your head?_________________________________ Are you male or female?_____________________________________________ What is the shade of your skin?________________________________________ What is the color of your hair?_________________________________________ Are you inside or outside a structure?___________________________________ What does it look like?______________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________ Is it night or day? Cold or warm?______________________________________ Are you alone or with someone?______________________________________ What are you doing?_______________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________ What language are you speaking?_____________________________________ What country are you in?___________________________________________
