The source of this healing is hinted at in its name, which has Japanese origins. Rei can be interpreted to mean ''universal" in the sense of all-present, or it can mean "spiritual consciousness," implying that its source comes from God or the Higher Self, and thereby knows all about each person, the person's problems, and where healing is needed. Ki is the same as chi, the life force that directly relates to how healthy a person is. If one's force is low or blocked, he or she is vulnerable to illness. If it's high and freely flowing, he or she is less prone to illness. It runs through every aspect of one's life, including emotions, thoughts, and spiritual life. Ki also is believed to be the source of psychic ability and healing. |
