So my girlfriend will be cashing in on the Jetta she drives right now (her parents bought it for her) because the warranty will end sometime soon and the car has under 25k miles on it. It's a 2008 Jetta, fully optioned. Been offered 15k for it already, cash she can put into school, rent etc.

For 2,600 bucks I'm thinking this 73 Omega is a good bet as a fun replacement that I can fix everything on if need be. EVERYTHING was redone on it, and it will come with pre smog heads too if we want to put those on instead of the shit smog heads. Runs like a champ.

    Olds 350 w/ turbo 350.

Thoughts? I think it's the coolest hatchback option by far, lol.

you can have 48 pot calipers, but if they dont have a big enough master cylinder and enough pressure and big enough pads, and big enough discs for a fast little piggy like the Z32 you aint stopping for shit. I`ll look for dave colemans brakes article he did for SCC back in 2002 for the Krylon Commando. also they had shitty brake bias.

    hey guys
so I just got back from the body shop, where I had them look at a rust spot on the side of the Regal. It's below the side trim panel, marked in red in picture.

They said it'd be $500 because of all the paint blending that has to be done, but that I could probably do it myself if I just two-toned the car. I can get the paint and gun/compressor.

I figure if I'm gonna paint the car, I'll just do the whole thing, which I'd probably take on this summer. I do want to get the bottom of the car protected, so has anyone done a bedliner two-tone?
How much shit will I be in trying to get the bedliner off in the spring? I just want to protect the bottom of the car for the winter, then do a full paint this summer.

TLDR: can I bedliner the bottom of the car just for the winter without it looking like shit, then paint with automotive paint this summer

Dude, why don't you just buy a W body with a supercharged series II in it already and save yourself the trouble of parting out your failed "project". Hey, I'm back. And for those who aren't aware.. I have a 1990 Lumina APV that is refusing to start right now.

I got suggested to change the battery, so I bought a new one and put that in. Same thing, won't crank, won't do anything. I turn the key, lights come on and the fuel pump engages, but the starter doesn't do a thing.

I called my Father, see if he could think of anything before I replaced my starter again, and he told me to try and bypass it, so I flipped the car to run, then stuck a screwdriver down there and hit the connector at the solenoid, and it just sparked. Didn't spin the starter or anything.

Now, I'm back to thinking I have to replace the starter again. Which isn't a big deal, except it's ridiculous to get out and back in in this vehicle. And since I'm super sick, I'm just going to have to pay someone to do it.

    Any other ideas, though?

Man, FUCK a starter on a 3.1 van. I had a '90 Silhouette about seven, eight years ago, and the starter went out on it. It took me a fucking WEEK to get it back together right. Blows my mind to this day how the starter can be in the same spot as other Chevy V6s, use the same subframe as a Celebrity, and be ten times harder to replace than said Celebrity.
    >> Anonymous 12/08/11(Thu)18:23 No.5584102
Whack that bitch with a hammer. Worked for me. Just a few glorious taps should do it, directly on the body of the starter.

Americans, diesel is generally much more popular in most of Europe because it's cheaper, more economic and has better resale value. This causes even people who do 5000km/year driving only in town to buy diesel!
A lot of girls prefer it too to drive because it has better torque in most small cars (they almost all are manuals).
Really, a lot of girls I know can't drive petrol cars for shit and continue to stall them.

Too bad most people here don't realise how much more fun it is to drive a petrol car.
