Even though there abounded with apparantly "circumstantial" evidence, the duct tape of the same brand found in the anthony home, the laundry bag found in the anthony home, the smell of death in the trunk, the partying afterwards. I'm so sick of people saying "oh well, just cuz she's a bad mom doesn't mean she's a murderer". Fuck yes it does, if you're not willing to look for a child that's gone missing and would rather party while this child could be starving to death or being killed by a serial murderer that's as good as killing the child in my book. The stupid thing about this case was that no one in the "defense" argument seems to care about the truth at all as long as there was no "proof beyond reasonable doubt" that the truth happened. Also, reasonable is a completely subjective term. The defense argued in their closing statements that you must be absolutely certain that a person committed a crime before you convict them, while at the same time there are plenty of innocent men in jail because they were proven guilty beyond the "reasonable" doubt that was in another case, it's all how you look at it. I'm not so sure that the fact that Casey was young and white didn't come into play. |
