    >Sportster
    >Unreliable
    >Implying Japanese cruisers aren't hideous and plastic ridden
    >Even the motors look plastic compared to a harleys motor

Sure is uninformed in here. I routinely hear of sportster owners getting 80,000 miles out of their bikes without rebuild. Makes sense since the motor has been around since the 80s.

Pretty amazing how people will dog american cars for plastic interiors, yet jap bikes are the ultimate bikes.

Put a jap cruiser next to a harley and tell me honestly that the jap bike doesn't look like a generic wanna be plastic looking harley.

Forza Motorsport 4 Challenge and General Mega-Thread

Not a surprise, but the 'Cheap Car Challenge' went through some struggles. Connecting on Forza Menusport 4 is still as bad as it was and the only real solution is to limit the lobbies to around 10 - 12 people. But ignoring the issues of last night, many lulz were had but it's time to focus all of out attention towards the upcoming events - 'Rallyan' and 'Mustang V. Camaro'.

Satellite440 ( Xephinroth ) has made a request for some of our Forza Motorsport 4 videos to add to our Youtube page TheBROstation. I'm thinking of either having you guys upload them to Rapidshare and we can get them from there. So if you're out racing with /o/ then save the replay and upload it.

Also, as posted in our last thread, if anyone is up for the 'If /o/ was a race...' race, then let me know. Definately has potention to become BROstation gold.

So tomorrow I'm purchasing a 2001 325i from a private party. Giving it the final inspection/test drive and such before finishing up with the financing. Any important tips and things to look out for that my personal research may have missed? First car, did my best but I could really use second and third opinions.

So pretty much... the usual car maintenance, but a bit more expensive cause it's a euro luxury car. You get what you pay for, and I can pay for... why do people go doomsday over this? They make it sound like the car will explode in your driveway.

Its cool but it clashes with the red on the air filter, you should paint the filter to match. A nice prime and paint should make it match flawlessly.

yeah what the other dude said about cleaning engine bay. at least if you're taking photo's to save and show off car (i know this isn't really one of them). It's just that the brand new look of the cover kinda clashes with the rest of the bay. and yeah also matching with the cai would make it a lot better. sick car all around bro. wish we had em in the US. and hope you get new rims that aren't 60's impala nigga rims for that beast.

Stupid as P-Plate speed limits (ie. max speed you can drive is still under highway until you get off em), and the only choices of fuel you get is premium 98 or that shitty E85 soon

    Just a quick question.

Do you find that private inspection stations are more lenient than the state-run ones? I've got to get a work order cleared and I'm looking for somewhere that won't hassle me about my engine swap.

I went to a private one once and the guy was claiming I broke his equipment.

I was more confused why he was trying to test the emissions on my now 42 year old truck...

That's the only time I've ever been to any sort of inspection station.

What car defined your childhood? What was that one car that at, let's say 12, made you obsess over cars to begin with?

    >Not so much dream car, but the car that caused your obsession.

Mine is the 1987 Buick GNX. I was just a kid and changed the oil on my Uncle's. From that point on, I couldn't get away from cars even if I wanted to.

    What are your tastes now?

    Ferrari Marnarello, Evo VI.

Watching F1, WRC, and touring car championships was probably what pushed me into that, my love for failed suicide/andrenaline, tinkering/mechanical stuff, and visceral stuff was probably what did me in.

Probably the EL Falcon GT. Obviously it is slow now, but when I was a kid, dat interior and those foglights were the coolest thing ever.

    >its has leather and woodgrain interior, so it is a luxury car
    >It has a cool V8, so it is a race car

What isn't there to like? Also the AU Falcon TE30 was quite interdasting. Nowadays I recognise that they are pretty massive pieces of shit, but I nostalgia for them fairly well.

Is it true that the majority of guys who own big trucks are overcompensating? Same with sports cars. I'm not trying to tease or be funny, I just don't know why, in this day and age, someone would drive something that used so much unnecessary fuel.

Hold the fucking phone there missy, enlighten me on where I said that they weren't fun, when my whole arguement has been consisting of how they are fun.

Also, V8 that barely moves the truck?
What have you even been driving?
For example, a huge SUV, a 1998 Lincoln Navigator.
    230bhp V8, 5165 pounds, 0 - 60 in 8.4 seconds. I've personally owned one, and it was a fucking blast.

Also, i4 that barely moves the car?
What have you even been driving?
For example, a tiny i4, a 1998 Honda Civic DX.
    106bhp i4, 2438 pounds, 0 - 60 in 8.4 seconds. I've personally owned one, and it was a fucking blast.

(Yes, really was able to leave the 0-60 the same)

This is why I don't get how one is HORRIBLE MPG HIPPY SHIT NO FUN and one is 'a fucking blast', when they would be the same thing on a drag strip if you put earplugs in.

I can understand if you prefer one, even if you prefer losing 20mpg for a sound, but not understand if you hate the other. This is why I am bothering to have this debate with you.

And yes, there really are a lot of v8 trucks that barely move, I've driven quite a few of them.

I actually just figured out 4th Stage's physics the other day. The idea is basically that hitting things with the front of your car barely, if at all, penalizes you, while hitting things with the sides or rear slows you way the fuck down.

In other words, as long as you just straight up run into shit face first, you're good. Completely counter-intuitive. God, I want to play 5th.
