/mb sign %r--- [ Welcome to the tutorial ] --- |/msgme In this tower, you're going to learn about all the basics of parkouring, as well as the new features introduced by &6Classic Towers of Hell &7(CTOH). /mb sign %r--- [ Hotkeys ] --- |/msgme &6Practice Mode&7: There are no respawns in CTOH. You can, however, toggle &6Practice Mode &7by &rpressing P &7. Practice mode will give you flight and respawns, but you will %mnot %7be able to to complete the tower in this mode. Toggling off Practice mode also sends you back to the beginning of the tower. |/msgme &6Leaving the tower&7: You can do so by &rpressing L&7. |/msgme &6Restarting the tower&7: You can do so by &rpressing K &7. This also resets the speedrun time. /mb sign %r--- [ Walkaround ] --- |/msgme A &6walkaround &7is an obstacle in which you cannot progress by jumping, but rather you have to walk along a narrow path. Try to stick to the wall so you don't fall! /mb sign %r--- [ Outside Sections ] --- |/msgme &6Outside sections &7are considered more unsafe, as there are little to no ways to recover in case you fall, meaning you'd have to &mrestart the tower &7from the beginning. This one has a catch net to bring you back though, so don't worry! /mb sign %r--- [ Losing Progress ] --- |/msgme &6Losing progress &7is a normal and reocurring experience in CTOH. When it happens, try not to get frustrated, as the point of the game is for you to have fun, not to stress yourself. Make sure to take breaks and to practice the most difficult parts to become more consistent. /mb sign %r--- [ Jumping ] --- |/msgme A block is composed of 16x16 pixels. Your &6jump &7can, at most, reach a 19 pixel height. Since the gap in this one is 20 pixels, you &mcannot &7make this jump, and are instead forced to walk around it. /mb sign %r--- [ Neos ] --- |/msgme A &6neo &7is a type of jump in which you have to jump around an obstacle to get to the other side. It's difficult, as you have to be mindful of the hitboxes between the player and the blocks. Your hitbox &6stays the same &7when rotating, so keep that in mind. The &6length &7of a neo is measured in pixels or block length, so this would be a %r4p neo %7or %r0.25 neo%7. When unspecified, the neo is a full block, a 16p neo. Due to their difficulty, they are not required in the tutorial (You can skip this one). /mb sign %r--- [ Headhitters ] --- |/msgme A &6headhitter &7is another type of jump. This time, there is a block above you preventing you from jumping across. However, if you jump when you are at the very edge of the block, your hitbox will not touch the block above you, allowing you to do the jump. Give it a try! /mb sign %r--- [ Ladders ] --- |/msgme %6Ladders %7are a special type of block which allow you to climb them by holding the jump key when your hitboxes are colliding. Since a ladder is &r2 pixels thick &7and &ragainst a wall&7, it may be tricky to stick to the hitbox, so be careful! /mb sign %r--- [ Ropes ] --- |/msgme %6Ropes &7are similar to ladders, but their hitboxes are at the center of the block instead. /mb sign %r--- [ Floors ] --- |/msgme Congratulations for reaching the &r6th floor%7! You're halfway through the tower! In CTOH, all towers have always &mexactly &710 floors you have to do. &6Steeples &7are like mini towers, they have less than 10 floors, usually ranging 4-6. &6Citadels&7, on the other hand, have more than 10 floors, always more than 12. /mb sign %r--- [ Jump Boosts ] --- |/msgme &6Jump boosts &7are a new addition to CTOH! Standing on them propels you upwards! There are 3 tiers of jump boosts: &rLittle&7, &rMedium&7, and &rLarge&7. They propel you 2, 3, and 4 blocks respectively. The stronger the boost, the brighter the block looks! Do &mnot &7jump when you stand on them. They will jump for you. /mb sign %r--- [ Speed Boosts ] --- |/msgme &6Speed boosts &7are another new addition to CTOH! Standing on them gives you a speed boost for a certain period of time. There's only two tiers, &rMedium &7and &rLarge&7. They give you a 50% and 100% speed boost respectively. On a side note, you have to wait for the timer to end before getting a new boost. /mb sign %r--- [ Boost Stacking ] --- |/msgme &6Boost Stacking &7is a technique to get extra vertical momentum from the speed boost. It's done by jumping right before the boost kicks in, so that you go up an extra block. This allows a little boost to jump 3 blocks! It does depend on your ping being stable, however. It is not required to beat the tutorial. /mb sign %r--- [ Diagonal Walking ] --- |/msgme This is a pro technique, as it is difficult to master and use effectively. By &6walking diagonally &7(holding both A and W, or W and D, A and S, or S and D), you gain a ~2% horizontal movement boost. This is useful for speedruns and very precise jumps. /mb sign &rNow let's put everything you've learned to the test! /mb sign %r--- [ Winpad ] --- |/msgme Congratulations on beating the &rTower of Tutorial&7! This orange portal is the &6winpad&7. Touching it will finish the tower and bring you back to the lobby.
