The Middle of the Journey: Numbers 1019.
Wheel of Fortune. The 10 is the number of completion and rebirth. It's a karmic number (but good karma). The 1 stands beside the 0 of unmanifested energy, and the 1 has moved through an entire cycle of 9. Now, at the 10, the 1 energy is ready to begin anew. Some experts believe the Wheel of Fortune itself is represented by the 0 of the 10, and that the post holding the wheel is the 1. So, for the Wheel to be balanced, all must be completed, and only then is the Wheel ready to spin a new cycle.
Justice. Two 1's side by side stand ready to begin a new cycle, but the warning is that it must be a new beginning in a balanced manner. Careful thought must be given to individual thoughts, words, and deeds. Like the justice scales, each thought and deed must be weighed carefully. After all, we're dealing with karmic justice and fairness here. An individual (the 1) can no longer hold out for personal gain; it's time to move into a higher awareness. The union of the 10 (rebirth) + the 1 (self) becomes the 2a new sense of balance and blending.
The Hanged Man. This card's numbers are 10 and 2, which added together bring in the force of the 3. Here's a card that can signify a need to surrender, a stuck place, and a guy who's definitely hung up. He has to maintain balance even though he's hanging upside down (his bent knee provides the balance). Let's face it, though, this guy needs help. Note, however, that his halo's still on straight (that's his spiritual aura, remember). Because this is the second part of the journey, and the card is grouped in with the karmic cards, maybe the number reflects the struggle between his inner and outer selves: he has to find the balance between them. His spiritual power is available to him. The conflict between the 1 (independence) and the 2 (joining forces with others, in this case with a higher power) keeps him hanging until he realizes a balance is necessary. Enlightenment is possible by accepting appropriate limitations between self (1) and others (2). Then he moves to a happier state (the 3) as indicated by the glow on his face and his karmic debt is lifted.
Death/Rebirth. The numbers on this card are 10 + 3, which add up to 4. The 3 in this karmic number suggests the creation of something new. A rebirth is at hand, for a death has occurred at this part of the journey. An individual (the 1) will engage in the hard work (the reduced number 4) of death and rebirth. As a karmic number, the 13 reveals that in the past, there was frivolity (God forbid), excess, and disregard for the creation of life. Superficiality dies at this point, and it's now time to cut yourself free so the new can be born. It's not easy (the 4); it takes transformation of your energy from one form to another to give birth to the new.
Temperance. In Temperance, we have the number 14 (10 + 4), with the 4 demanding self-control, discipline, organization, and planning. Its reduced number 5 (10 + 4 = 5) suggests adaptation, change, speaking out, communication, and resourcefulnessall qualities of the number 5. This makes a successful combination, which is the essence of the Temperance card. The 14 is a karmic number and implies that past abuses existed around a lack of discipline, hard work, frugality, and practicality. It's time to
