Everyone agreed that the Tower was a surprise about who would become President. Most of the students thought President Bush would stay in office when this reading was done, so they saw the 2 of Cups in opposition to represent a positive condition that would re-elect the incumbent President (Bush). |

At the foundation of the question was the 3 of Wands. This represented that whoever became president would focus on business, enterprise, the economy, and working together with the public. |

The Magician in the past seemed to be saying that the public would pick someone creative and powerful, with fresh ideas and lots of charisma. The King of Wands upright in the fifth position, which represents what may or may not happen, was a light-haired man of power, but as all three candidates had light hair and light eyes, the students disagreed about which candidate this represented! The King of Wands has the potential to be a good leader and has been a good father already. So the question still remained, Who will it be? Naturally, the students didn't want to venture a guess based on the cards so far! |

Strength R showed up in the sixth position, what will happen. In its reversed position, Strength is preoccupied with power, or a loss of strength, stamina, and perseverance. Whoever became president would have to deal with loss of power or control of his position, this card seemed to be saying. Plus, since this is a fate card, difficult karmic conditions lay ahead for whomever would become president. Maybe, like the students said, the president really wouldn't have control over the country and would only be able to recommend what he wanted. |

In the seventh position, fears or attitude, was the Queen of Cups. Who was this? Barbara Bush? Hillary Clinton? Mrs. Perot? All three women would of course have fears about the presidency, and all also have the power to overcome fear. Each in her own way is clearly a strong supporter of her husband and might actually be the powerful person behind the man, if we looked more closely. This Queen was upright, |
