Reversed Imagery and Meanings: The 7 of Pentacles reversed shows the farmer upside down, so that his hoe will slip away from him, and the pentacles will fall away as well. Hard work and a goodly amount of labor have been put into this venture, but there seems to be little or no profit. This card can indicate that your crop failed because of bad weather or that your investment showed no profit because of low economic times. Perhaps you didn't get a bonus because of circumstances beyond your control. Poor speculation may be indicated, and in fact this card comes up a lot when people are gambling on what they mistakenly think is a sure thing.
8 of Pentacles: Focus on Productivity

8 of Pentacles.
Upright Imagery and Meanings: The 8 of Pentacles shows a craftsman who's worked hard on the previous seven pentacles, and is now focused on an eighth one. He's hammering away, producing more of his talent. He's good at what he does and is skillful in the process. Quick and sharp, he can produce his wares at an amazing speed (kind of like us, if we do say so ourselves!).
Here you have the ability to move ahead quickly because your talents and capabilities are well-rounded. Your past expertise has culminated as profit and recognition. The 8 of Pentacles predicts that you'll do well in your career or job, or profit because of your keen awareness of the need to continue and develop the skills you have. You can only get better at what you do by keep on keepin' on! That's the 8 of Pentacles.
Reversed Imagery and Meanings: When the 8 of Pentacles is reversed, a slowdown in production is evident. Now the craftsman has trouble finding his tools and can't produce as quickly as he would like. Mediocre work or a mediocre workplace add up to slower or delayed production, and therefore a loss in attaining the desired results of good and steady profit.
