As we discussed in Chapter 7, when the majority of cards in a reading are Major Arcana (five or more in a ten-card Celtic Cross Spread is a majority), the answer to the question is not in your hands. It may be in the hands of other people, or already in the works, but you can't do much about changing anything now. Lots of Major Arcana in a reading signal that you're in a learning curve, and so going with the flow is important. At the same time, the reader pays close attention to the fact that you're doing something with a higher purpose than you realize. |

When the majority of cards in a reading are from the Minor Arcana, though, you have a lot of Free Will or choice in deciding which way the reading could turn or how you wish to pursue it. Here, matters are in your handsand your fate is what you make it. |

Even if Major Arcana cards represent karmic issues you must deal with in this life like it or not, you still have the Free Will to deal with them successfully or unsuccessfully. So, ultimately Free Will is the rule and you use it to your advantage or detriment in dealing with karmic issues of life. So, while you may not be able to choose your lessons, you can choose how you evolve or grow through them. For example, if your lesson is to break free of destructive or addictive relationships, you can choose to develop the power to do that, or remain in that lesson, even repeating it into the next life. The choice is yours! |
