INTRODUCTION
It's easy to imagine why you picked up this book. After all, who hasn't heard of, or doesn't actually know, someone who's had a psychic (or what we prefer to call intuitive) experience? In all likelihood, you yourself have had such an experience, but don't know what to call it or feel afraid to assume it was truly psychic. But who isn't familiar with the feeling that they've sensed something unusualsomething beyond the reach of their ordinary senses, and yet just as real?
Whether you know what to call your own experience or just want to check out what you've heard about from others, you're probably still wondering if it was ''real." Maybe the experience was just a hyperactive imagination or a hypersensitive mind at work?
We're here to tell you: Trust your intuition on that one. It was real. And after you've read through this book, you'll have a much better sense of what to call these experiences and a greater understanding of why they occurred. We're here to offer insight into the various types of psychic abilities and how to put them to use in your own life.
First, let us explain who "we" are. Lynn is an intuitive consultant and seminar leader, with a masterful psychic ability that is sought by a wide range of clients. LaVonne is an editorial consultant and writer, with a strong religious upbringing that she often resists in favor of her rational side. Through the experience of working on this book, she has learned much about intuitionand has no doubt about its awesome power.
We worked together, culling the best from our different backgrounds, to show you how easy it can be to tap into your intuition. Throughout, we use the word "we" to refer to co-written sections. In special parts of the book where Lynn provides additional insight into the inner world of a working intuitive, she uses the word "I" to share her personal experiences. Here she offers deeper insight on the realm you're about to enter . . .
When I was a young girl, I was just as curious as you are now, but books like this one weren't very available. I haunted libraries (so to speak) and started reading the few materials I could find. The more I discovered about the psychic world, the more I wanted to know. I developed and practiced my own methods for strengthening my intuition. Eventually, of course, that led to my wanting to try doing readings myself.
Readings seemed to come naturally: I didn't have to work too hard to receive information. My friends who agreed to be subjects for my early experiments were often shocked by what I seemed to know about their private lives. And I'm sure that a few of my friendships cooled because certain friends became convinced I could read their minds.
Well, it wasn't so then, and it isn't so now (though you'd have a hard time convincing my husband of that). I can't read your mind, but I can tell you a lot about what's going on in your world, what could occur in your future, and how you could shape your life into something much closer to what you'd like it to be.
