Unfortunately there are some unscrupulous people in the psychic reading profession, just as there are in any discipline. For instance, one psychic who worked in the Boston area for many years had a particular scam that has been repeated with minor variations in other areas of the country. She definitely was a gifted psychic, but she used her ability to take advantage of othersuntil the police caught her in a sting operation. |

I learned about this psychic through a client, a woman in her thirties who worked as a secretary at a local university. One day she showed up in my office for her appointment and promptly burst into tears, sobbing that she had lost all her money and she was still cursed. |

After I helped to calm her, she explained that another psychic had given her some very accurate information about her family and thereby won her confidence. The psychic then gave her some information about her lack of relationships and told her that she was cursed and would never marry unless the curse was removed. Of course, the psychic had the key to removing the curse: Pay her ever-increasing amounts of money to speak with the spirits that could reverse the bad luck. |

You may think this was just a naive young woman. But over the next several months I heard from several well-educated, intelligent men and women who had fallen victim to this scam. The psychic was an extremely charismatic woman who received between $500 and $10,000 from each of my clients alone. |

Above all else, trust your own intuition! If you aren't comfortable with the person or the person's answers, don't make an appointment. Above all, stay away from anyone who promises to cure all the problems in your life with one easy reading. |

Change can come in at least two forms: walking away from something old that no longer suits you, or walking toward something new that appeals to you. Both of these apply to meeting with a psychic. |

If you have met with someone previously and you still don't feel comfortable and confident with that person, consider looking for someone who does make you feel at ease. On the other hand, if you've always felt anxious or afraid about seeking psychic guidance, perhaps you'll consider checking into it. |
