Albrecht Durer, a contemporary of mystic Nostradamus, depicted the skies of the Northern and
Southern Hemispheres in 1515, illustrating the blending of science, astronomy, and astrology at this
time in human history.
As you can see, the wording is a bit vague, which leaves the predictions open to various interpretationsliterally as well as figuratively (he wrote his prophecies in Latin, French, and Greek!).

Nostradamus reportedly predicted such events as the Napoleonic Wars, the American Revolution and Civil War, the assassinations of Lincoln and both Kennedys, World War II, the appearance of nuclear weapons, and space travel. He is typically portrayed as the archetypal magician wearing a big, black cape, a pointy magician's hat, and gazing with arm outstretched into a crystal ball. But that is not actually the case.
In order to make a prediction, Nostradamus did not rub a crystal ball. He placed a bowl of water on a brass tripod, tapped his wand into the bowl, and then touched it to his robe. He then gazed into the bowl to receive his visions, a process known as scrying. His clairvoyant senses proved to surpass the voices he heard in his early experiences. He died in 1566.
