What was your day like?
(Write three or four sentences on the key events in your day. Emphasize any emotional highlights.)
Overview of issue:
(Write a few sentences here about the nature of a problem you are facing in your life. Describe some of the possible solutions and challenges involved with this issue.)
Dream question:
(After writing your overview, summarize your concerns into a one-sentence question. Try to phrase your question so that it evokes more than a yes or no answer.)
The dream:
(Write down any dream or dream fragments that you can recall. Sometimes you may not remember the actual dream but will wake up with the sense that something is resolved. If the dream itself eludes you, write about your feelings upon awakening.)
Dream interpretation:
(What thoughts and feelings do you have about your dream? What do you think it meant? Are there any parts of your dream that seemed particularly significant?)
Interpreting Your Personal Dream Symbols
8954-0206a.gif
There must be a gazillion ways (or at least 10 or 20) to go about analyzing what your dreams mean. So, in order to avoid accusations of favoritism, we won't go into them here. The important point to make is that dream interpretation according to dream symbols is highly personal. What one person sees in one way might mean something entirely different to someone else. For example, you might dream of a flower and consider it to be a beautiful and positive sign; while someone who has allergies and or forgot to send their spouse flowers on a special occasion might consider a dream about flowers to be a nightmare.
When you see a symbol in a dream, don't run to Madame Divine's dream dictionary. Instead, go inside yourself to get clear about what the symbol means to you. Recall any previous associations with the image, as well as your current feelings about it. Make sure to understand your feelings, and always try to write them down. That way, if you do feel you must check out their symbolic meanings in some sort of reference book, you won't lose track of your own original impressions.
