Getting in Touch with Your Body Psychic

Everyone's heard the saying, ''Your body is a house of prayer." But what does that really mean? It suggests that everyone is a walking temple, or church, or sacred site, that is filled with fine ideals, pure intentions, and hallowed hopes. Sounds impossible, huh? Well, the trick is to notice the word "body." Your mind may often stray, but keeping your body under control may actually be easier than you might think. Your body is a good place to start learning the fine arts of discipline, control, and quietude.
You can't stop your thoughts from giving you the desire to have an extra drink, pick up a cigarette, or eat more ice cream, but you can use your body to help you become more aware of these temptations. In fact, your body is a very real, concrete boundary, almost like a fence that clearly points out that the border is being crossed: You can think about eating ice cream, but putting that spoon between your lips can set off an alarm that your thoughts have gone too far. In this way, your body can help your mind become more aware of where your thoughts have gained the upper hand and carried over into action. Similarly, your body can tell you when your emotions have gone too far, such as when your breath changes or muscle tension increases.
