Presents
an Audio Lecture presentation with Slide Show

by
Dr. Stephan A. Hoeller

"Abraxas Amulets in Image and Reality"

Welcome to the slide show visuals accompanying lecture 100905 by Dr. Hoeller, from the BC Recordings.net web site in MP3 audio format, available for download or disk purchase under catalog heading #1009 - C.G. Jung's "Seven Sermons to the Dead".

"Abraxas Amulets in Image and Reality" is the first of two lectures given on the subject of Abraxas.  The focus of this lecture is on the images and meanings of the various engravings found on the impressive collection of amulets made available to Dr. Hoeller for this presentation.  The second lecture is entitled "Why and Wherefore of Gnostic Gems" and explores the meaning of Abraxas as embraced by the Gnostic Christians of the earliest centuries of the Christian era.

The album also contains four lectures covering the subject of Carl Gustav Jung's "Seven Sermons to the Dead" in which references to Abraxas are also present.

For nearly the first half hour of this lecture, the first two slides were present on the projection screen while Dr. Hoeller established the context for this presentation, then he calls for the slides (in order) beginning with number three.  To best experience this a/v presentation, your MP3 playback software could be playing the audio in the background while your browser is in the foreground displaying this page.  (Resize window for best viewing:  Pull down to show top of 1st slide, balance the image's two margins, pull up to hide image and then use the navigation links.)
