Since I'm still here, I'd like to share an TL;DR version of probably the most interesting experience I've ever had with the Astro.
>Early Winter 2010, past midnight >Going 65(55) on Dallas Highway/Hwy 92 >Dry road, dry road everywhere >Come up to some overhanging trees >Van starts to wobble >Twitching steering wheel left and right to maintain control >Van starts wobbling violently >Sudden loss of control, turn left >Left, left, left, left, left, left, left, left, left, left, left, left, left, left, left, left, left >I'm spinning quickly in a top-heavy van; I'm terrified for the worst to come >Van stops spinning, onto a turning lane on opposite of road, facing the opposite way it was going >Get out to check tires for damage >Nope.avi >Get back in the van and start turning around >Sudden 180-degree turn >Black ice
The question I had was this: Since I was driving a top-heavy van, wouldn't it have flipped or was I spinning fast enough the center of gravity was in the right spot that it didn't flip? |
