.45 caliber pistols are permitted. No-one's going to carry a .500 as a concealed carry weapon.
Shotguns, bolt action weapons are allowed. A shotgun is an excellent weapon for robbery.
And another perfect case is Switzerland. They give every man deemed fit for military service an assault weapon and ammunition. You don't see anywhere near the crime in Switzerland that you do in the U.K.
