We will be trying a form of teams of two drivers using the same livery, same/different cars.
It's more of a trial thing right now, so if that seems stupid, we can go back to single drivers.

Team Mustang vs Team Camaro
3v3 or 4v4 races (depending on number of participants)
Race entry based on first come, first serve basis

Car Restrictions:
Team Mustang – 2005 GT or 2000 Cobra R
Team Camaro – 2002 35th Anniv SS or 2010 SS
Car will be upgraded to A class
Car must be RWD
Car must contain a racing roll cage
Body Modification allowed (No Forza aero permitted however)
All other upgrades allowed
Multiple tuning setups allowed
All driving assists are permitted but please use your normal assist levels (new driver friendly)

Car Livery:
All cars must have a number plate with a simple or detailed livery
All cars must have the WATSeries sticker (available on my SF for free right now[GT: MAns44])
Team Mustang cars must have a predominantly BLACK livery for easy team identification on the track
Team Camaro Cars must have a predominantly RED livery

Team Scoring Format:
Scores will be calculated as a team score after each race. Points are awarded for the finishing place of each team member (in the case of a 3v3 race, 1st place receives 6 points for the team, 2nd receives 5 pts, and 6th receives 1 pt). Team scores will be totaled at the completion of the series to determine the winning team.

Dates and Tracks:
Races will be held sometime in February (probably between the 5th and 12th). Race date and tracks will be announced sometime soon after the CCC. The date will be determined by participant availability to make sure we have full teams. Inexperienced drivers are more than welcome; we will just try to have you on separate teams so please identify yourself as such if you would like to join this event. To join, post your GT, your team, car (if you have decided), and car #.

Also, I was racing with Wolskrus last night, and we sorta had an idea we thought would be cool for an /o/ event.

Endurance race style event, 20 laps or so, on some of the shorter tracks in the game, with a pit lane of course. Or maybe one mega event of an insane amount of laps on one course.

Well that aside, since i somehow ended up with a competetive subaru S204 that complies with the tarmac rally rules, im contemplating on participating.
Though i usually pick an odd car so it feels strange to me to drive a subaru...

I have an idea for the most amazing race/movie... but I'm not sure how all of this will work... and it'll require a capture card...

It's based on Tokyo Xtreme Racer and Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune... but mainly Tokyo Xtreme Racer/Import Tuner Challenge...

First off, sequentially listen to the last three tracks on Tiesto's Magik 7: Live in Amsterdam, which are Industry, Moonshine, and The Prophet...

All three songs will be used in the movie...

If you pay attention closely to parts of the songs, you can probably see how these songs would be appropriate and it's better if you have played both maximum tune(especially in outrun mode for the camera angles) and txr...

The tracks will probably only be Old LeMans because of the straight, but maybe Nordschliefe as well..

The cars would have to be extremely powerful and anything at least 600 HP is fine; anything over 800HP is better, but there has to be one car that's a bit better than the rest(not a Veyron) as long as it's competitive enough to outrun the cars a little bit...

Also three or two-car teams...

There's no date for this; it's currently a though and it'll probably won't happen until later in 2012 or 2013.

So, Fits/Soothsayers and myself were discussing some of the 'scary cars'; namely the Noble M600 ad the Koenigsegg Agera.

Ended up buying and modifying both to R3-800 ad gave them a whirl.

>Nothing out of ordinary for an overpowered, no-aero street car.

The Agera spins through third if you lay on it, but that's with like a 4.5 final [since on a normal track, who needs a 250mph top speed] and the Noble spins through second, you also need to brake pretty early with it or else it just slides.

That's just my own experience with my [limited] tuning ability.

Agera surprised me at how tame it was. I think I just dialed in so much understeer it killed any chance of oversteer.

All the Noble does is slide on the way in, understeer out under WOT. So you have to baby it a fair bit.

I'm currently thinking the Porsche 911 GT2 wheel with CSR pedals shifter.

Total comes out to 390 or so plus tax and shipping and what have you. Is this worthwhile or should I go with the base shifter/pedals. I'm leaning towards keeping the wheel as is because Xbox/PS3 but I'm open to input from you guys.

Actually, looking at compatibility, the 911 GT2 wheel the Forza CSR wheel are near identical. I think the Forza wheel might actually be better. And the Froza CSR comes with CSR pedals, so the CSR shifter in addition to that would actually be cheaper. I might just do that.

Since i wanted EVERYTHING for forza, and i mean fucking everything, i made especially sure to order forza 4 LCE (nothing less of course) from a store that provided as many pre-order cars as possible.
So i got the mini clubman, honda cr-z and the bmw.
I got the alfa from gamestop because my gf works there so she knicked one for me.
and i then BOUGHT yes BOUGHT the subaru over ebay for 4£ i think.

I knew they would release them eventually but my otherwise passive OCD kicked into overdrive upon Forza 4's release.

But now i dont feel so special anymore ;_; oh well

You can still find 360 wheels from microsoft for under 200 that comes with wheel, pedals and paddle shifters if you want. Of course that's 360 only.

Played around with the vinyl editor and gave this Koenigsegg a sort of honeycomb effect hidden under the paint. Needs a bit of work to get it to fully line up and just look "right", but I think it gives it a moody, evil look to it.

It's also impossible to take a picture of properly since it relies on the light to bounce off it.

I'm actually fairly new to the painting side of things myself, and I can only make generic designs out of squares and circles(pic related actually). Not sure what I can tell you apart from the obvious and shit you probably already know, but I'll try.

RX8 looked pretty bold and in your face, and definitely benefited from the colour swap, although you might wanna look into changing the white to a silver, or grey to make it look softer on the eyes, and so it matches the wheels (if they're staying that colour). Maybe try moving the black bits further over the white bits so there's less white under it, making it look like it's highlighted... or some shit. Confusing myself now.

I bought an 85 MKIi Celica Supra that I ended up pretty much murdering within 6 months. While alive, I let him have a spin. He's always been a classic muscle kinda guy but couldn't afford it. Both of us are auto enthusiasts but don't know how to dick beyond oil changes and general upkeep. So instead of muscle he bout a supercharged Cobalt. He then bought an '11 Impreza for work (he's a technician that travels a lot along the east coast). After i killed the supra I bought an 05 Subaru Legacy GT.

Now that my Surpa's in the garage and I'm gearing up to get working on it with some help from experienced mechanics, he's been thinking about bying an old 80something jap box. He's always liked the RX7s he's seen and saw one at a gas station a few months back. he was confused because it obviously wasn't an FD, but it didn't quite look like an FC, he figured it was just a first gen FC. Regardless, he fell in love with it.

Your FB looks exactly like what he described is all, so hopefully he can figured out exactly what he saw and track one down.

I don't know what the market's like over in Her Majesty's Back Yard but I picked this thing up with the motor essentially flawless and 103k miles for $2k. It drives well and everything, and the interior is in pretty good shape. Except for the part where it's all over my garage floor. They're awesome bargains.

Having both, I'll tell you that my PS3 really only gets used for movies and Single Player RPGs. Otherwise I play on the box. I have like 30 games for the PS3, but I bought those all before I bought my Xbox. Now the tide is slowly changing.

I want to buy a console instead of a new computer, also I don't have a dvd/bluray player so it could be used as that. I was thinking about a PS3 because tekken and because that's what I have tried, haven't tried Xbox 360.
Looking on some prices I see that the Xbox is about 20 dollars cheaper here (Eurofag). Is it really the best? Is there a game for Xbox like Tekken? Dead or Alive maybe.

Granted, the tourny matches are held on PS3, but that's only relevent if you're gonna be playing in tournaments. Otherwise, 360 has everything except for GT5 and God of War? Maybe some shooters like Resistance?

The only for 360, i feel, is better. It's 60 a year but they have deals pretty often. I just bought a year for 40 bucks at Gamestop.

Avoid the 360, if this was 2008 then yeah the 360 would be overall better. But the way Microsoft handles the system and the online is more then enough to turn anyone off. If you are looking into a console, grab a PS3. If you want to be smart keep saving your money and buy a nice high end PC.

ok guys, i have this perhaps crazy idea that may be total overkill and over the top but i just want to put it out there:

Since i finished my academic computer sciences degree, i am now taking a bachelor degree in web technology.

As such i want to practice my leet web 2.0 hax0r skillz.

So i thought today, why not make a site for wat-racing? i know there are some half-assed WAT sites around, but it would be cool to make one where organizers can post about events on some blog like fashion, small discussion board, gallery.
Could be for both WAT forza and GT5 events and general WAT.

would it be of actual use? or is /o/ sufficient? well, we are here most of the time anyway. But like i said, just wanted to put it out there, because if i was going to do a practice site, might as well do something of use.

is pretty old and most of it isnt relevant any more (like the bbc iplayer for example).

i own both consoles (because fuck money), but if i would choose now i would buy the one my friends have so i can play against them. Performance wise the graphical quality etc is just about the same, its hard to distinguise anymore (maybe just the exclusives though).
They have more or less the same features like streaming services (if you live in the US), media functionality, online is almost the same (you pay for xbox but its more robust, like cross game chat for example). Its the same but a different package.
If you are indifferent i think i would actually recommend the PS3 considering the current state of the 360. Though i personally favor the xbox.

But whatever:

You'll end up paying more with the online subscription. I just recommend a high end PC because most console games are also on the PC (Some like Forza and GT aren't.) The other reason as to why I'd recommend the PS3 is Sony has always had a habit of supporting their systems for long periods of time, normally 10 years or so from their release date. So it'd be an overall wiser investment given the next Xbox should be coming out sometime next year. But still, just invest in a nice computer and play games at maximum settings for the next few years.

Regarding the /o/ rally rules, i was thinking, wouldnt it be more appropriate to have race transmissions? Because almost every race car have sequential transmissions and the race tranny in forza 4 is supposed to be a sequential.

But if there is a reason behind it thats ok, it was just a thought to make it more "real" so to speak.

Related note to the trans, I'm also finding that the sport trans tends to lend itself to better acceleration most of the time. Top speed isn't quite as important with these things, anyways.

Off topic but the GT40 is fucking amazing in S class if you can tune it. Has the launch of an AWD car and master race cornering and acceleration; even though it says my handling is at 6.8/10 I swear it feels more like 7.1/10 and 7.3/10 with good tuning.

Finally able to hold onto some money so I can get new spark plugs for the Astro, since I have to get it back in shape, since we found out the Sportage had metal in the oil, last week, and it won't last long.

I also gotta get a distributer cap and wires, but I have to wait on the wires until next week.

My second time replacing spark plugs in an Asto and I hated the first time. If nobody knows about Astro vans, it's almost like putting your fist in a vagina and trying to screw something in it six times.

WAT American Team Series.
There are going to be 4 teams. The plan is that there are 2 rounds. Team Mustang 1 (Black) vs Camaro 1 (Red) and M2 (Blue) vs C2 (Yellow). The winner of Black vs Red will face the winner of Blue vs Yellow, so I'm trying to decide if doing both rounds in one night is possible (Sort of a head ache reorganizing lobbies vs trying to coordinate 2 nights that work for everyone). Also, the losing teams of the first round can race each other to get some more fun in if they choose/determine 3rd place. Whatever, I am sure some of this will change in some way.
Anywho, I wanted to propose Tuesday, Feb 7 and Thursday, Feb 9 at 8pm EST (4chan time) as race dates. Maybe race both dates or squeeze it all into one night. I am anticipating a headache trying to organize this during the week. Let me know what your availability is during these nights and I will make a note of it and adjust. ALSO, CAN SOMEBODY TELL ME THE RALLY DATE/TIME? I just want to know so I don't run into it with this event.
Track list - I am doing this in a hurry right now and I have to run out for most of the rest of the day, but let me know what you think, I am open to changes to this list. I don't want it to be all about murrikan accel/top speed, but most of the American courses are a lot of straight-aways, so I am choosing US and non-US tracks, we can do all US tracks if you want to be authentic (WAT = authentic and accurate?)

I want to give it an aggressive, fast look; I usually work with red and black for that.

I didn't look at the whole car, when I was thinking about doing the design, but the main thing I wanted to do is what's on the hood.

The car isn't going to have this blue; it's just letting me see what the design will look like.
