How do minimum wage earners like you continue to swallow the BS that giving tax breaks to the wealthy will jumpstart the economy? Time and again we've seen that the rich will just shuffle their money into offshore accounts, or investments in overseas funds to avoid paying taxes here. Money being leveraged on short sales, sitting in swiss accounts, and crap like that does nothing to free up capital for investment or improvement. The whole theory of trickle down economics hinges on the need for the people with money to reinvest it, so that capital can be liquid enough to be lent out. Instead they're all doing janky zero value add tactics that strips economic value rather than building it.

    TL;DR You're a fool

EDIT: you guys are right that's probably not Jefferson.

TL;DR Obama Sucks. Goats would do a better job!

Either way, Obama's Presidency was an utter failure. It's past the time to stop blaming Bush for all these fuck ups. Throwing money at problems does not make them go away, you just wasted money. Obama had 2 years of near free reign on Legislature and the only thing he managed to do was flush trillions down the drain.

I don't speak for anyone but myself, but I believe that another 4 years of this roody-poo will tank our country. Before he had no track record (But he was always "Present" apparently) and we feel for his hope and change BS. Now he has a long list of failures and a short list of successes. His ideals are a dream because his lives in this fantasy land; where suddenly it's the rich vs the poor. Some people actually start with nothing and become very successful. The government isn't responsible for success, Hard work, Dedication, and Ingenutiy breeds success and you're a fucking retard if you think sitting on your ass trying to get your Goddamn art degree is going to work.

    >Investments from american tycoons are going overseas due to a speculative market based on the fact that we have a shit president who does not live in reality and thinks buisnessmen are being "greedy" when in reality they are just investing in markets that have a predictable future , no investor on the planet invests in things that have a dark future (the us) .
    >small buisinesses are closing left and right
    >Regardless of what obama says , many of the small buisinesses we like in this country fall under the axe he plans to swing.
    >obamacare will destroy small buisinesses by requiring them to pay even more in taxes to pay for his nigerbill. (SB cannot afford current taxes btw , thats why they are going out of buisiness.

So you are telling me the best idea is to tax the people who make the investments that grow this country as a "punishment"? Knowing full well they will just end up not paying them and continue to spend their cash overseas since the president has no fucking idea what to do?

fuck no. You cut taxes across the board. None of our taxes are currently paying for anything than government debt. Let the candy-assgots default and learn their godamn lesson. We are the largest consumer on the planet and if you cut taxes to insanely low levels for everyone , you just got rid of the apathy of the american family wondering if they can pay their mortgage this month.

and then the economy exploads into a frenzy of investments and growth.

"This is not economics , its just fucking basic logic"
    pretty flawed fucking logic there.

Taxes, especially on the wealthy are already at insanely low levels. Look at Romney, he paid an effective 14% tax on his total worth. As a nation, we've continuously whittled down taxes on the wealthy since the end of WW2, all the while rallying behind the cry that lower taxes will create jobs and create opportunities, and its been the opposite outcome every time. There is the old statement, "Insanity is performing the same action over and over, and expecting an different outcome." Its not about "punishing" the wealthy, its about getting them to pay at least the same rates that I have to pay, and as I've already stated, most of them arent making the investments you seem to think they are. They're sitting on their money, and using it to back funds that are zero value add systems, purpose of which isnt to grow anything other than the money in the fund.

I don't know why I bother trying to educate idiots, especially here. You'd think I'd learn that you people are a lost cause, you who rush to defend the very people who would happily turn you back into serfs to work the land.

Try to keep in mind that even if low taxes did cause the rapid growth mentioned in this thread, the corresponding increase to inflation coupled with already incredibly slow wage increases would wreck the buying power of the poor. Just look at gas prices and the effect on the poor already.

And I still feel sad for the private factory owners and such that can't break the million dollar barrier because that's where all the rich taxes are, anyway.

way to completely bypass my fucking post and continue to spew irrelevant shit

pro tip homo , lowering taxes for everyone would be a very good thing , ask your mom how much lower taxes would help out next time she brings you spaghettios. You might be suprised that real people outside of reddit politics have to pay alot of money in taxes that doesnt go to anything relevant to help the country.

So no , raising taxes to "fair levels" on the rich wont make a difference , it might make you "feel better" since you have been corrupted into thinking taxing rich people "trickles down" to the poor. When in fact taxing the rich will turn them off to investing in the country in the first place. which is something we desperately need.

    So take your choice

    low taxes for EVERYONE

    or

    No jobs for everyone.

    1. Cold War ended by itself. Reagan happened to be steering the ship at the time of the Soviet collapse. To his credit, he at least didn't instigate further fearmongering, but he sure as shit didn't do a goddamn thing about it either.

    2. Reagan and his Neocon movement is responsible for the current economic hardship. There is no such thing as trickle down economics. It's not a viable theory and no economist takes it seriously. It was nothing more than a buzzword that sounded better that "declaring war on the middle class and working poor".

    3. Reagan was a (not the first, but possibly the worst) warcriminal who enacted and controlled illegal war activity using the vaguely established implied powers of the president. Technically, Nixon was the first to do this, but Reagan was the first to do it that cost a ton of money and lives for no good reason. He was scum.

Those thing are not wrong in the least but generally investing in your business makes you more competitive and when done universally raises the standard of living of all working people.

The Fed's refusal to change interest rates did cause A crash, but not the current economic hardships.

Bush Jr. was directly responsible for this massive hole. Hell, his spending caused roughly 60% of the CURRENT deficit. Between his fudged numbers, two wars and tax cuts without spending cuts, he's dealt about 8 TRILLION dollars worth of damage to the debt with zero chance of a return (wars and tax breaks don't generate return wealth in any way like policy changes can/do).

also the massive hole we are in was the result of many presidents , people forget that bush walked into the presidency that had a 5 trillion dollar debt. we kept clintons surplus too until 911 happened and we had to rape the middle east.

I don't have a problem with spending money when it's for things like roads and infrastructure. The problem people have with bush is we fought two really badly executed wars on foreign soil with no good exit strategy or understanding of the culture. Obama also spent far less in bailouts than Bush did(and his had at least a few strings attached beforehand). I'm not an Obama supporter btw, it's just bullshit to act like he's this crazy liberal spender when most of his shit is mediocre moderate at best. (private health insurance, he was never for public option, lowering taxes, hawkish on wars).

And before you talk about Libya notice it's over and we never put thousands of troops on the ground?Yeah. And we got a percentage of Gaddafi's money.

This is actually partially true. not either OP btw.

Reaganomics was stupid, sorry. But supply-side economics is rather silly on the whole doesn't really work right.

What Reaganomics did was cause a large boost in return for a large influx of credit(which is what Obama is generally doing right now), which of course inspires growth. Then in the 90s we smartly decided to pay that credit off because we were doing well. Then we decided to spend like crazy 2001-2007 while slashing taxes.

The problem with reaganomics is we keep trying to do it forever and that doesn't work. in the short term deficit spending is useful. in the long term it's not good.

    >10 years of incredible prosperity for americans

Yea, also in the 90's we had the most involvement in raping the middle east, and the most terrorist attacks against American interest.

all this picture displays is that obama, whether he can control it or not, is letting the government control everything and break its own hard working constitution that George Washington and the forefathers, who actually gave a FUCK about the common people, whom in this picture looking worried and asking the presidents of today current and past of why you fucked up this country? all you care about is yourselves and the rich, the middle class and below dont matter to you anymore? WHAT HAPPENED?

TL;DR our country is going to the shithole and its only going to get worse unless the common people take action

reaganomics does work. Historically it had flaws because it wasnt pure reaganomics , if we had no military spending we would not have gained a debt from it.

reaganomics is supposed to work when we are not spending massive government money. which isnt really reagans fault considering he was fighting a democrat congress at the time who were developing the welfare state

the joke about your supply side criticism is that those models are drawn totally from empirical data, unlike the Keynesian ones that are theoretic constructs. So they work out, because they worked out before they were known.

Obama isn't 'letting' anyone do anything. Stupid people elect stupid House Reps. Obama is the president, not the fucking Monarch. He doesn't write laws. He provides for defense and gets to veto unless all of hte house and senate agree.

candy-assgots need to lrn2 three branches of government. Obama or hte president isn't super important. house and Senate is. And unfortunately no one ever votes 'their official' out because they're great and everyone else is an asshole.

    Paultard here.

    >mfw I see John Adams lamenting over Obama stepping on the Constitution

John Adams signed the Alien and Sedition Acts into law. He'd be standing on the same side as Obama.
