Ruins are third world how?

>>67482
That's actually not bad, a bit rundown and there's litter everywhere, but the houses were apparently built with some taste. Compare this.

Both of your pictures look just as terrible.

it's the food market just past the street of the tentmakers in cairo. behind is an old and non-restored mamluk mosque; they were -all over- the place just like they would've been back in the medieval period.

this here is basically egypt.jpg (as well as religion.jpg)

I've been backpacking in Cambodia and Vietnam before, but didn't have a camera for obvious reasons (theft, bandits). Suffice to say, though, both countries were, while beautiful, 3rd world.

I posted>>67514. As you might have seen from the license plates, it is indeed Turkey. Ba?c?lar District of Istanbul to be precise, a typical immigrant (from within the country) ghetto. Though I would think it's not much different than what you might find in the outskirts of Bucharest or Sofia, so>>67530might have a point.

A *bit* run down? Also: Grey, grey, grey.
Anyways, have some more Damascus. It's an awesome city!

Damascus is fuckawesome. At one time it looks like a total hellhole (And even that is worth seeing!) and a few steps away it's suddenly like something out of 1001 Nights. I loved it!
The grave itself is meh, just a fancy sarcophagus in a small mausoleum. But it's next to the Umayyad mosque and the Old City which are an absolute must see.

that umayyad mosque looks awesome.

in return, have a coptic church facade.
