Anybody been to the island of Kauai? Am planning a fall trip. Never been to Hawaii before. Heard Kauai was more laid back.

Are you only planning on visiting Kauai?
Kauai is awesome but since it's your first time in Hawaii I wouldn't recommend spending a whole vacation there. Do some island hopping.
And watch out for velociraptors.

I've been to Maui and Kauai, and honestly I enjoyed Maui a lot more. Kauai has some appeal due to its lack of development, but for a long trip (a week or more) it just doesn't have enough to keep you occupied. Or maybe I just didn't know where to go.

O'ahufag here. Kaua'i is nice, but you should consider visiting the other islands. Depending on how long you're in the islands, you should check out as much as you can, considering that ticket prices aren't close to what they were even two years ago. Gonna be lots of scenery for the most part.

only go to kauai if you have enough money to do things like take a helicopter ride to remote waterfalls in manners like they show in the jurassic park movie. the beaches are fantastic, lots of kayaking to do, some caves you can swim into, hikes.. the island is more for outdoorsy relaxing than people or night clubs.

i love it though.

I've been to Oahu. The weather was hot and sticky. It rained intermittently. The whole place felt cramped, tiny, and desolate. Don't go to Hawaii. After a while you'll start wanting to go back home really badly.

I've spent a week in Kauai and loved it. Humid as fuck and tons of wild roosters everywhere but the beaches are fuckwin.

Also tits.
