You'll love Rome, at least I did. Go to all the touristy ruins and museums unless you are a dumbass with no repect for art or history. The steps next to the Trevi Fountain in the fashion district is a great place to chill out and people watch. Drink all day long but never get drunk and you'll fit right in.

did you see the catacombs?

I didn't, I wish I could have. Another place you should defintely go see is the Pantheon. It's old as shit and incredibly well preserved. There were alot of younger people just hanging out around this joint too, especially euro-hippies.

Sometimes traveling is about having a great time (or at least a great experience) despite everything going wrong. Do the best you can with what you've got. You're not a tourist anymore.
>> Skimo
rome is horrible
absolutely horrible
so so dirty and covered in graffiti, and the cats in the damn park near termini
go to milano or belaggio :D

If you run into skimo at a party, be sure to avoid him.

I had a great fucking time in Rome. Go to Trastevere and get a drink and hang out on the street with everyone else. In the US only drunks and losers and gangbangers hang out on the street, but in Rome everyone's out there all evening. Lots of Brits and Americans in Trastevere too. I hope your money wasn't in your carry-on.

On my second day in Rome I concluded that the filth and graffiti were a sign of authenticity. Rome is a real city full of real people who have better things to do than pick up litter. Graffiti is a tradition going back thousands of years, and a cat is fine too unless you got a hotel room downwind of the Largo Argentina. Also imagine how the rat and mouse population would explode if you got rid of the cats. The fucking black plague would probably come back.

tl;dr non c'e disneyland

Seeing all those starving cats really depressed me when I visited Rome. Also. Fucking WATCH OUT for the gypsies and thieves in Rome. My mom had a lot of shit plucked out of her purse, and my dad almost had his wallet lifted on the subway. Venice AND Rome were pretty bad IMO. Berlin was bitching however.

YES. Rome is one of the best cities for graffiti, especially with the painted trains. Though it is somewhat regrettable to see historic monuments covered in it.
