Average US suburban. Nowhere else in the world people consume so much antidepressants. Look at this from the following side. When you live in some poor shithole country all you see is dirtpoor neighbours, so you assume living like this is normal. Hell, when I was a kid in post Soviet Russia, I thought it was pretty normal to have only one pair of shoes. And if you live in a wat-torned country, you are too anxious to stay alive, so you dont get depressed. However, in open, unequal society like America you always watch on TV or simply outside lives of people who are hundred times "better" than you. They have money, fame, beautiful partners, while you are stuck in a house that you have to pay for another 15 years, with shitty job, ugly wife, bratty kids. The live on the screen is uncomparably better than you real life. Thus you feel depressed. Some US ghetto would come up second.
