GOD TIER TOURISTY
=================

Kurt Cobain's house: The address is

171 Lake Washington Blvd E.
Seattle, WA 98112

My cousin went on a road trip through the States and they stopped at Kurt's house. There is a bench outside of the house that fans write messages on. Another couple owns the house now and do not allow visitors.

Jimi Hendrix grave

Location: The memorial is located at Greenwood Memorial Park, 350 Monroe Avenue N.E., in Renton (about 15 miles south of Seattle).

Hours: The cemetery is open daily during daylight hours.

=================

Bruce Lee's final resting place is Lakeview Cemetery in Seattle, WA, on top of Capitol Hill, overlooking Lake Washington. Bruce Lee passed away on July 20, 1973 at his peak of his career. He was buried on July 30, 1973. Tragically, Bruce Lee's son, Brandon Lee died from an unfortunate accident on the movie set, "The Crow" on March 31, 1993. Brandon Lee's final resting place is beside his father.

There are a lot of people that visit the grave site everyday. The grave site gets so much traffic that they have to replace the grass every four months.

To pay "your" last respects, enter from the front gate on 1554 15th. Ave. E (road on top part of ETA, facing east) and go up the hill, past the flag pole on the left (visible in ETA). The graves (plot lot 276) are about 50 feet north-east of the flag pole.

=================

Personal fave: go to Magnuson Park (SE Seattle) and see the SoundGarden sculpture, then to Volunteer Park (E Seattle) and see the Black(Hole)Sun sculpture.

When Cobain got famous, he lived there, but he grew up in Aberdeen. I've been to the house he grew up in, its nothing special at all. But near it is the "Kurt Cobain Bridge", of which the underside is covered in messages for him. Its in a slummy ass area.

Pike's place market really is a must.

Unless you have $100 to blow on a not-so-great dinner on the top of the space needle, it's not really worth the hype to go up... though you may learn a bit about the geography of the city. The restaurant rotates 360 degrees in about 47 minutes - a little less than the time needed to order and eat your overpriced 4oz of steak.

I'd have to second your trip to Uwajimaya(sp?). Actually, spend a whole morning there - grab a nice chinese breakfast for dirt cheap, and shop for some tasty treats at the grocery. Hotels and other such things are actually very cheap there, so if you haven't booked living arrangements, maybe look for a hotel in the district.

If you like Starbucks, maybe when you're at pike's place you can visit the original. But if you just want a good, fresh coffee, you should be able to find it no matter where you go in Seattle (hint: avoid the green, white, and black logo).

EMP (Experience Music Project) is pretty cool if you're into classic rock music. Admission is relatively expensive, but there's enough to do there to burn at least four hours, if you're into that sort of thing.

Check local events in the Seattle Times. There's always something weird going on somewhere around Seattle, or it wouldn't be Seattle.

If you're the artist type, or fit into any sort of sub-culture whatsoever, spend a day wondering around Capitol Hill, preferably on a friday or saturday. If you're the sort for clubbing, Capitol Hill is the place to go. The state Capitol is not actually located on Capitol Hill, though the urban planner sure wanted it to be...
