Sup /trv/.

I'm an Ausfailian who is set on going to a concert being held in Paris during July.

I'm not sure how I'm going to manage $3000 for the airfares alone, HOWEVER when I wanted to go to Tokyo I managed to save about $500 on flights just by landing in Osaka instead and then catching a bullet train to Tokyo Station.

So I guess I'm wondering if there's any cheap and nasty places in Europe that would be cheap for me to get to via plane and have decently-priced trains to then take me over to France.

Maybe if you didn't fly direct on a series of shitty airlines

Yeah, those were my thoughts too... but which airlines/change in what countries/etc?

I'm looking at a map of the world here and, assuming that it's cheaper to cover vast distances on land than it is by air, the nearest bridge between Europe and Australia is Malaysia. You would have to follow that up to Thailand then go through Burma, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, Italy, Switzerland and finally France itself.

... There has to be an easier way.

yes. just fucking wait because it's almost inevitable that Yoshiki is going to announce Asian lives (China, Korea, Philippines, etc).

Paris + July + recently went to Tokyo = X Japan.

seriously, just wait a few more weeks before planning your trip, because there are some pretty reliable rumors going around that there will be concerts in mainland Asia, which i imagine would be much cheaper and easier for you to get to.

also, it is probably cheaper to come to the show in New York, if September is an option for you.
