Fellow anons,

Im planning on going here. Any of you ever been to greece? How easy is it to get around for someone who has never heard, much less spoken, a word of Greek?
Where should I go? Athens? SPARTAAAAA? Santorini?

Lesbos

Just because it has a great name.

The residents of lesbos recently lost a lol-tastic court battle in which they tried to make it so that "lesbian" could no longer be used to refer to homosexual women.

I'm on Crete every summer and if you don't act like an asshole tourist you'll get along nicely.
Except for the old people everybody speaks sufficient English so you're not fucked.
Be polite, maybe try ordering in greek, always gets you some smiles.
If you're into partying and bullshit the northern coast is what you want, if you're into going on a vacation the southern coast is your friend.
Also: long pants in the evenings.
Tipping is encouraged and will give you better service the next time you're in that bar/restaurant.
Don't overdo it, 10-15%.
Also: old people sitting in front of their houses are greeted when you pass them. You can find the right phrases in any insta-greek book or the internet. Generic greeting: "???? ???!" (yah-sas)

Thanks guys, I think I'll be visiting the southern coast, I'm much more of a beach guy than a nightlife guy.

How are the major cities? Athens and all that? How about architecture and all that? What are good cities to go to if you love that kinda stuff?
