1. I live in England. Fairly happy here, weather could be a bit better.

2. Not sure yet. Cape Town (in b4 OMG CRIME) has always been a possibility as I have family there and the weather and scenery are nice. Or Australia, probably Perth.

3. Turkey. A backwards shit-hole that's full of slimey guys, fake goods and money grabbing bastards. DO NOT go there.

1. New Zealand. It's pretty and all, and I can see myself continuing to live here, but it's isolated. And after 20 years, I'd at least like to try living overseas temporarily.

2. I've never been to Canada, but I can see myself living there. Just seems my kind of place, snowboarding and outdoors especially.

3. Probably Manilla. God that city is a shithole.

1) New Zealand. I love the quality of life here.

2) New Zealand, again, but for the career I want to pursue, I'll have to move. China (central/eastern), UK, and to a lesser degree, California, all seem like exciting places to be.

3) Perth, Australia. Moved there for a job, and was disappointed all around. Coming from NZ, I was expecting everywhere in Australia to be more developed, but infrastructure, commerce, weather and working conditions are just lacking. Can't slight the people though, they were lovely.

OP you didn't go anywhere good in mexico

Go to Guanajuato, it's a small old Spanish mining town, i went there for 6 weeks to learn spanish through don quixote schools, stayed with a family, it was fucking awesome, you feel like you're in europe, but everything is cheap (i've traveled to europe extensively)

anyway:
1. california, happy here yes, but feel it's time for a country change

1) The DR. Of course, I wouldn't be here if I wasn't.

2) Panama: so I can have a base to travel Central America and Mexico
Uruguay: so I can have a base to travel South America
South Korea or Japan: I wouldn't mind teaching Engrish there. Food is excellent.
Malaysia: because it's more stable than Thailand right now and i can travel to Thailand and Singapore using Malaysia as a base.
Egypt: Use as a base to travel some countries in the Middle East
Morocco: because I love the music, food, and climate
Tunisia: similar reasons to Morocco
Sweden or Finland: I want to go to grad school there.

Basically, I just want to /trv/l the world, live in places that are cheap so I don't have to work as much, eat delicious food, and fuck hot girls. Not doing so bad so far.

3) Probably OH, USA.

Well, because in the winter the sun rarely shines. When it snows, it's not like this beautiful winter wonderland - everything quickly turns into a dirty, slushy piece of shit. There's only a few cool cities in the middle of Redneckville. In some cities, the only real thing people do is get drunk. Fucking idiot fight over Ohio State vs Michigan state. Like fist fights. Seriously. At OSU, they have the "freshman 50" instead of the "freshman 15". Besides that, there's not a whole lot of hilly areas to backpack, although there's some great parks.

1. Ireland. Am I happy? Sure. Life's okay. But I don't want my life to just be "okay". I don't want my review of life to be two-and-a-half stars out of five.
That's why I love travel so much.

2. I don't want to live anywhere permanently. Constant movement, through any means necessary, is what I consider preferable.

3. I've never really been to a country that was bad for me. I mean, sure New York was hot as hell in summer and I got a major cold in Berlin during winter, but the places were hardly to blame for that.

Interesting to read what other British people are saying. I'm English, born and raised in Surrey, worked and lived in London for 6 years, but am now lucky enough to be able to live abroad now. I love London and much of Britain, every time I come back I see things unique to Britain that I miss, but I'm glad I left.

It's society that's the problem, people are so greedy, selfish and single-minded. Without sounding like a Surrey snob, I think that the problem has been that because of the property boom, people have been spending money that they never earnt. The boom helped to create a new class of people who have been able to live the kind of life that previous generations would have had to work their ass off for. These people changed Britain as we knew it, they became a core part of the (credit) economy and as a result became the target audience for the media and marketers. There's a lot more too it than that of course (immigration, decline of industry, universities and jobs mixing up the population (leading to the decline of local communities), supermarkets and the desire for cheap, imported goods).

Anyway, sorry to go off topic.

> 1. Where do you currently live? Are you happy there?
Manhattan, New York. I'm very happy, I live in lower Manhattan and love the neighbourhood. For a young, single guy like myself, New York is perfect. I work online, so I'm lucky enough to be able to move pretty much where and when I want. My plan is to get a greencard, then buy an apartment and sublet it so I can go and experience other countries.

> 2. Where would you like to live, and why?
If my sublet plan works out, my list currently consists of Santiago in Chile, Tel Aviv (I have friends who live and love it there), Tokyo and somewhere in the south of France, maybe Montpellier or Nice.

> 3. What is your least favorite place that you've already been to?

(North Shore) Auckland, New Zealand. It has its ups and downs. The people here are really great. I've travelled a bit and the people here a nice and accommodating.

I'd like to live in New Zealand for a bit longer or somewhere overseas depending on career. I want to retire to Rarotonga though. Been there once and love the laid back/islander culture. People there are friendly as well and didn't see any evidence of crime when I went last year. (Can also travel to Aitutaki and smaller islands pretty easily)

I'd have to say Singapore. Don't get me wrong, the place is nice and they've really tried their best. The thing is the place is so sterile and it's a police state. After being there for 3 days you've pretty much done everything touristy there is to do in such a small place.

British Columbia for the scenery or Japan seeing as I've played so many video games set there I'd like to go and see it in real life.

3. Mons Belgium. There is probably something in the water. The place is like a gloomy version of Twin Peaks or Innsmouth, or something. Trash fucking everywhere, petrol-stations are wallpapered with flyers with missing children and animals, the locals look sickly and pale and never smile, and there are factories and power-plants all over the place. When I entered the road through there, there was a notice from the police to call them if you saw "suspicious plastic bags" on the roadside. Of course, the side of the road was covered in trash, and there were probably hundreds of plastic bags. I found out the reason for the sign later: The police were hunting a serial killer who cut up hookers, stuffed the bits into plastic bags and threw them out the window of his car on the road.

1. North Shore, Auckland, New Zealand. Yes - people are really friendly, lots of beaches, good nightlife.
2. Oh god. I really want to travel to most places (will cost shitloads though, but it is my life dream and goal). Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Argentina, Chile, (perhaps Brazil), Spain, Italy, Greece for culture and friendly/loving people. France, Scotland, Ireland, England, Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Portugal, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Latvia, St. Petersburg, Israel, Syria, Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco, Iran, the rest of Europe for art, architecture, lifestyle and history etc. Japan for history, architecture, games, culture. Tibet for history, lifestyle, beauty. Also, New York City for its diversity in people. It has so many museums that I simply must go to. Perhaps San Francisco too. Canada for its natural beauty and friendly people.
For living, though.. Mexico/Argentina/Chile, Spain, France, Italy or New York City.

Since it is quieter there I want to believe the people there are less stressed and calmer, and I suppose the greatest infuence on their culture is european rather than desert barbarians. Also, I suppose their wildlife and nature are a bit more exciting than lizards, arabs and dunes. I'm heading there for a trip on June, after I finish my military service.

I was in San Diego for eight days last year for APA 2007 and i loved San Diego. Thai Island on 7th Ave. between B and C streets has cheap sushi during happy hour. So fucking good. Loved the delicious, cheap food in the downtown area. The people were really nice as well. I could totally live there if Mexico annexed it.

Screw any of you NZfags that are putting down our own country. You realise it's pretty much the only country with a population of under 10,000,000 thats constantly mentioned on here? Sorry, but this is pretty much the best place in the world. I'm from Chch myself, and it's great. Been to Japan twice, love it. Wanna live there, but not for the rest of my life. Just a year or two. Worst place, probably London, England actually. Grey, boring, when I arrived at Heathrow it set the scene. Yuck. Maybe better if I went in summer.

Are you fucking cereal? The South Island is one of the most beautiful, isolated places in the world, if not THE most beautiful.

1. Brisbane, Australia
2. France/Hungary/Switzerland/Hong Kong
3. Los Angeles, FUCKING HORRID..........................

1. Utah: This state, and its beer, can DIAF. Nice snow, but it's not worth negotiating the canyons.

2. Perth, Australia, or Calgary/Edmonton, Canada. Calgary and Edmonton are fun as hell. Went to the stampede last summer and had a ball. The people were fantastic. The climate in Perth (Actually, most of the southern end of Australia) rocks, and it's a base of operations to travel all around Asia.

3. Kauai, Hawaii. It's expensive as fuck, half of it's elitist as fuck, and the other half is a buncha sullen teenage employees in the tourist industry cause that's all there is to work in on that damn island. I can't fault the scenery, however. Maui was more livable.

1. South East of England (Essex). Hate it. Full of pricks, idiots, slaggy girls and everywhere in it is becoming a rundown shithole.

2. America or Canada. I get to go to Canada for a year next year as part of my Uni course so I can't wait to get out of here. I just really like the US. The people, places - all of it = <3

3. Cornwall when I was a kid. Shit fucking sucked.

1.) Born and raised in Tinsletown.

I love my town with a passion. Even though I do admit it was a greater city back in the old day's of the 40's and 50's. The Los Angeles dream was at one time full-circle, until morons began running it and dampened the quality into the cesspool we have today.

I still love it though. Through and through.

2.) I don't know if I could ever leave L.A. (it's in my bones), but if I ever did, I could definitely see myself living in Central California. In the Cambria/San Louis Obispo region. I just love it up there.

Or possibly Europe somewhere.

3.) Florida. Everything about it is just PIG-DISGUSTING.

1: A little, unimportant town in Denmark. I like it here. There are no worries and other people are generally kind. I also love the weather here. There's a nice winter/summer temperature balance, and it's nice and cold most of the time.

2: National: Copenhagen - Because it's an awesome city. It's culturally rich, and a lot of events take place there. It's also the capital of education on the island (Zealand) and the capital of the nation, but it's still rather calm.

Semi-national (Because Malmø is culturally Danish): Malmø. Low tax, cheap cars and short distance to Copenhagen, but I doubt I'd be able to handle all the fucking immigrants there.

International: New York (If I by some miracle become a millionaire), Switzerland (Because of the skiing and high standard of living), Canada (Because it's like Denmark, except with mountains, which I love) and London (Seems like a nice city if you aren't near the ghettos)

3: Ukraine - that country fucking sucks. It's dirty, the people are idiots and hate you, the food sucks and the weather sucks even more. Never go there.

1. Where do you currently live? Are you happy there?

Kansas. No not really. But I know it isn't the worst place I could be.

2. Where would you like to live, and why?

Not sure. Seattle perhaps.

3. What is your least favorite place that you've already been to?

Willard, Kansas. Or maybe certain places in northern Missouri/ Southern Iowa.

1. Sumter, South Carolina.
Fucking shit hole. Represents nearly everything that is wrong with America. I hate this place.
2. I haven't really decided. I really like Europe. Germany is fuckwin. Right now I want to live in Japan for a few years though. Until I get tired of it.
3. Aside from this place? Alabama. Never ever go there. Nothing to see. Oh and the Czech Republic. Cold as all fuck and seriously depressing.

1. Indiana. Happy period? Sure. Happy with Indiana? No.

2. West coast probably. Ocean and national parks nearby. I've always had some love for Portland. Perhaps a little inward like Denver. I was born in Buffalo and always love visiting, but I don't know if I'd want to settle there. I'd probably prefer having a job where I have to travel, so not any one place excites me.

3. I've been to every state in the big 48, and I can't really pick a worst place. Houston was a little unsatisfying. Pheonix was bad, but mostly because I packed for warm temperatures and missed them. Of course, a lot of the midwest is boring, but I've had some fun in a few places.

1. Where do you currently live? Are you happy there?

I live in Eastern Washington. I love it here. I like visiting other parts of the world but i can honestly say that given the choice i would live here rather than pretty much anywhere i have visited. the only place I visited that I liked as much as Washington was Finland. then again, I visited in may, so the night was four hours long.

2. Where would you like to live, and why?

I would like to live in Eastern Washington. Maybe Western Washington except that it is full of infuriating retards. I wouldn't turn down the Idaho Panhandle though. All of these paces are beautiful and familiar, and i can visit other parts of the world relatively easily from there.

3. What is your least favorite place that you've already been to?

the Banlieus outside of Paris and the 10th Arrondesmont (sp?) kinda sucked. I'm not even sure why i was there. I enjoyed visiting England, but the nanny state is absolutely infuriating, with its draconian weapons laws and constant surveillance and lack of a fourth amendment, so no way in hell would i live there.

1. Burlington, Ontario (Canada). Fare amount of urban sprawl and housing developments... Typical zoned planning makes it difficult to get around anywhere without a car, public transit sucks and no one bikes. I have a car but driving around everywhere is fucking retarded. Good place to grow up I guess? Mostly everyone is upper middle class. Toronto is close. I suppose it's a love err like-hate thing.

2. Hamilton (Ontario), Toronto, somewhere in the Canadian Sheild (build a timber framed house, hunt moose and grow dope awwwh yeah), Vancouver, all of BC for that matter, East coat of Canada perhaps, New York City, South-Western United States (the desert), Australia, New Zealand, Scotland, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, SLOVENIA!, Hungary, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland... I need to travel more first!

3. Hmm hard to say I don't think I've ever hated any place in particular. From across the Lake and local TV stations we get Western NY looks pretty shitty.

1. Perth, Australia. I like it here sometimes, but I constantly find myself wanting stuff that we don't have (more intense underground metro rather than goddamn busses everywhere and a sub-par train system), 24 hour shops, busy city, there's too much crime, you don't feel safe at night, the city is dead after 5pm, too many fucking yobbos who get drunk and jump everyone for no reason.

2. I could live in Beijing or Tokyo, wonderful cities with convenient access to everything you'd want and I feel safe there. I'd LOVE to live in Moscow, such a beautiful city and I love russia, but same as perth it has the drunks who can't handle their booze and have to take it out on everyone else.

3. Least favourite places...it's a tie with Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia and Kathmandu, Nepal. Horrid cities, people are annoying as fuck and everyone is shifty as hell.

Melbourne. It's mad, but it needs to remember what RAILWAY INFRASTRUCTURE is. Choke on a black one, Road Lobby.

For living, I've always thought Spain. Is siesta still a relevant/practiced cultural institution over there? I loathe the protestant work ethic, it's fundamentally ridiculous.

Shittiest place visited: Daylesford, maybe Warnambool. Highly prejudiced against: Israel. Philosophically repudiate: Singapore.

1. Baltimore, Maryland. It's a pretty nice city and I would be lying if I didn't say I felt attached -- it's the country it's attached to and the government that runs it that makes me hate the place.

2. Amsterdam, The Netherlands. As cliche as it is, I really can't think of a better city for my ideals. And my ideals aren't smoking pot and fucking hookers.

3. Mexico. Went to a resort for a wedding, uncle tom Mexicans, within miles of impoverished city. etc. etc.

Pic related for Baltimore.

1) Sterling Heights, MI. Boring as fuck, nothing of interest to me.

2) Anywhere with consistently warm or cold weather. Michigan has some insane extreme weather: as low as 5F (-15C) in winter and as high as 98F (37C) in summer. Particularly Iceland, Norway, Japan (Hokkaido or Okinawa), South Korea, China, Canada (Vancouver), or Australia.

3) I've barely been anywhere and nothing stands out as completely awful in my mind.

I live in Central Maine, go to college in Northern Maine. I love this state. The people are nice as hell, I love the weather and the state just has a good, homey feel to it.

New Zealand, maybe Canada. I do love it here in Maine but I have a wanderlust that I can not feed because I am poor.

>What is your least favorite place that you've already been to?

Either New Jersey or Canada. But in Canada's defense it was New Edmundston, NB. The town smelled like bologna and coffee beans because of the paper mill. Also we saw a gang of people on Unicycles. Seriously, WTF.
