Hi /trv/.

In two weeks I'm going to USA. I'm from west europe, and I'm looking forward to see another side of the world.

I'll be spending one week in Texas w/rental car, other week in NY.

So my question is, what to do/where to go /trv/?

Hmm. I've lived in several places in Texas and overall I really like the state. So much hate!

I'll put in another vote for Galveston - drives along the sea wall are pretty cool, and the strand is great for shopping.

San Antonio is *awesome*, in my opinion. You've got the Riverwalk for shopping and dining, Sea World for ANIMALS, Alamo, all that stuff. I still go there at least once a year, just to visit.

Austin and San Antonio are awsome places in Texas

Where are you from OP?

Seconding Austin and San Antonio, and not just cause I live in SA. They're just fun.

Corpus tends to suck on the off-season though. It's seriously a ghost town.

LOL I'm from Corpus and when I left they were arguing over whether the tap water had e.coli or not

tldr; corpus christi is not a place you want to go to. why the fuck do you want to go to texas? the food is ok but that's about it.

Anyone who thinks about it will say you can't really experience America without driving through it. Our cities are pretty unnoteworthy in themselves, they are all pretty much the same to the outside observer. I'd suggest driving between a few cities.

Also don't drive like fuckin people in Germany do. I'am always seeing foriegners stopping when they have the right of way to left the guy on thier right go ahead at an intersection. This pisses people off, and is illegal, don't do this.

If you're going to Texas, prepare for every American stereotype you have in your head reinforced.
