Hay /trv,

I am quitting my job soon and taking a week off before starting my new one. I am having trouble deciding where to go. I am an arizonafag and have been to LA and Vegas like a million times. Museums, scene girls, and other interesting sites are a plus.

What does Anon suggest? I'd prefer to keep my trip under $2K.

if you're in good shape then you should try biking the california coast. or you can drive it if you're willing to pay for our crappy gas prices. either way, the central coast is really beautiful and inspiring and a good way to relax once you're away from the crowds.

New Orleans LA. I'm a Louisianafag and we are making huge improvements to the touristy sides of the area. The hotels and attractions are completely bounced back from the storm. If you get bored in the city there are several state parks within convenient driving range, and the Mississippi Gulf Coast is not that far away with lots to do. But NOLA itself is a beautiful place with lots of shopping, GREAT LOCAL restaurants, various historical sites and a night life to rival Vegas or New York.
Really a great trip and cheap under 2k for a week depinding on how much you shop... word to the wise don't take taxis and there is little to no public transit... rent a car and get a GPS that can help you avoid traffic, also learn where the HPL Bridge is... if you go over to the West Bank for shopping or the state park bring a dollar with you there is a toll to get back to NOLA.

If you like to bike but are not very experienced with urban environments NOLA is great... flatter than Cleavland, no kidding, The levy along the Mississippi is a great hike with wonderful views of the city and the river also there is a Mall on the dike near the French Quarter.

Finally if you go you'll know that the money you spend will be used to reconstruct

san francisco, seattle, and new york are the only three cities that meet your requirements in the usa.

montreal and paris are the other two in the world.
