I have had several friends from China. They have presented both positive and negative views of their government. The friends I made at school who were from wealthy families always took a very proud view of their government and would hear nothing against the statement that Taiwan was rightfully theirs, China has minimal censorship which is for the good of the people, ect. The Chinese I met at work were poor illegals. As far as I recall, they all had a very negative view about the ruling powers in China and expressed a lot of anger about the mentioned topics. Well, there you go. The fact is that China has had many improvements in recent years, their economic conversion was a major shift in direction for them... and if we look at history from a non-sensationalist point of view, we can see that, for example, Mao did many good things as well as took part in very bloody things. China has seen many worse monsters over its history, recent and ancient, than anything in place today. But one might as well argue with a super patriot/lefist about Hiroshima, vietnam, Iraq, ect... few people want to dig through actual books (plural, lol) and compare sources, weed out bias, and so on.
