Only Berlin landmark I've ever been face to face with was a piece of Berlin Wall. (those pieces are pretty convenient to Americans, now that pieces of the Wall are all over the place.)

If you have some time to spare, visit the stasi musuem (East German Kgb). It's very intersting and I think it is important to have just a view of what East berlin was like before the collapse of the german wall. The district is very creepy with a great view on sovietic buildings.

while you are there visit Schloss Sanssouci in Potsdam, definitely better than Versailles

Go to Prenzlauerberg. Spelling could be wrong, I can't remember.

Either way, it rocks.

Note: Take some lunch with you. The restaurants are beyond expensive and even the Würstchenstand knows where it's placed.

Still, I can't remember having paid for entering the vicinity of Sanssouci. You need to pay for the tours through it, though. If you want to take the tour, buy the tickets as soon as you arrive there. Number of people/tour is limited as well as the number of tours.

It also good if you go when the world cups in town......crayz people from all over the world in one amazing city...The hottest/richest girls from every country, needless to say it was a good time.

It was fun being there 2 years ago during the Christmas holidays.. I got to drink glühwein and visit those markets, they were nice.

I have to say I didn't realize how big Berlin was, the western and eastern sides are really different. I didn't like the eastern side at all, reminds me of City 17, lol.

We also saw an underground cop in civilian clothes in a metro.. he was there checking if everyone had a ticket, it was actually kind of scary.

Yea, if you are going to see tourist spots the food can be expensive, but thats to be expected.
I didnt have much trouble finding Dönner, and other Imbiss like stands to get a cheap quick bite.
>> Anonymous
Yea the S Bahn and U Bahn cops are kinda intimidating cus all the say is like Ticket Now. Ive seen countless people duck out on the next stop, or move to the back and wait for the next stop.

A taste of the east side architecture...very comunest inspired. But now the east side is a very popular area for college students to live, and go to clubs.

So i guess it all worked out in the end.

That was no cop. He is an employee of the transportation network. Didn't you realize you don't need to show your ticket to any machine before you board a train/subway?

>>3752
Starbucks at Brandenburger Tor is great. Same you've-got-to-be-shitting-me-expensive rates as elsewhere, but a better view for the bucks.

Get a train/bus pass for the time your in the city you can hop on any train/bus and take it to anywhere in the city. I think you have to buy a ticket to get to Schöneburg, but dont quote me on that.
>> Anonymous
I know they arnt cops but why correct him on something little like that? And how couldnt you realize you dont have to show a ticket...
I had to so so many Amerifags where the ticket stations even are.

Super nice city too, every one was more than willing to give directions. Most every one speaks English, and they all try and help you speak German even if you are horrible at it.
