Döners zmastersword !mwxxWwHNA6
I love döner kebabs. I never knew they existed until I got a job making them at probably one of ten döner places in the US. My former boss told me when he went to Deutschland he saw doner places everywhere and that they all had (mostly) delicious sandwhices.

Anyone else love foreign foods like this one?

you're really sampling the greatest cuisine the world has to offer there!

there have to be more than 10 doner places in the us. they are everywhere in europe and australia

Yeah, Doners are pretty good, almost non-exisitant here, but everywhere in Europe. Really good drunk food.

you haven't tasted heaven until you've been to kebab king in manchester and had a chicken doner.

yeah the 4a.m doner kebab is an australian tradition, great food and seems to taste even better when drunk

Döner etc. outside Turkey tend to be 'watered down' according to my observations.

Fucking right on.

I can't imagine living in a country without many kebab stands, come to australia and you'll see about 5 every 100 meters.

I fucking love Levantine and Turkish food. Kebabs/döners/falafels down there where they make them properly are like prostate orgasms in taste-form.

Depends. I live in a neighbourhood with lots of Turkish people and it's pretty damn good.

superior in every conceivable way

In most places, they put stuff to make it more 'fitting' with the local cuisine. I wanted to commit genocide after I ate some soy-drenched 'döner' in Japan.

It is only good because it can be done with pork, other than that, it's a cheap knockoff.

A doner is different than Donair? You all sound like you're saying it wrong. (When I read your text in my head, ohnoes.)

"In Turkey, the "German" döner was generally frowned upon. However, in the southern coastal areas where tourism is a major economic factor, it turned out that from the early 1990s on, German and other European tourists were demanding what they considered "real" döner, that is, the Germanized variety. Nowadays, in tourist areas, the salad-sauce-sandwich type of döner is becoming more and more widespread or even dominant."

Eeenteresting.

I remember when I lived in Germany the Doner guys would always want to smother your kebap with a pound and a half of Ranch Dressing and shit.

So long as you scream something at them once they touch the bottle of that vile shit, your Doner will turn out pretty good.

"Shawarma" is a calque on the Turkish word "çevirme", a more generic word than "döner" for meat that's roasted on a rotating pole.
