Greetings /trv/ from a Britfag

My parents have just told me they want to go to Tokyo Disneyworld, and that I'm invited.

So basically I can have a free ticket to Japan.

Should I take them up on it?

I won't be tied to them so I'll probably pass on the theme parks altogether, unless anyone recommends them.

I've also heard that in general Japan is a bit costly, can anyone confirm?

I found Japan quite a bit cheaper than here (live in London). Especially food.

Yes it is, but compared to London, it's actually a bit cheaper. Just don't try and buy the same things you get over here (any imported food and such is going to be 7-8 times more than back home).

Dude... fucking go.
What is wrong with you, that is just awesome.

And yes, also go to the theme park. Why the hell not??

What I wouldn't give for that opportunity..

Tokyo Disney is the greatest Disney in the world, easily. The only one that still lives up to the standards set by Walt way back in the day instead of the cashwhores that run Disney USA. This is mostly because it's run by Oriental Land Company, who spends BILLIONS on it as opposed to millions and lets Imagineering do whatever the fuck they want.

While Tokyo Disneyland is mostly a hybrid Disneyland/Disneyworld kingdom park, Tokyo DisneySea is a one-and-only park that will probably never be recreated anywhere else. It has the Indiana Jones ride that an above Anon mentioned, but a bajillion rides that Disney will probably never build again, such as Journey to the Center of the Earth which is hidden inside an enormous fucking volcano of all things. Their Tower of Terror is also easily the world's best as well. Most of the rides and lands are unique ideas instead of the TV/Movie cash-in stuff that the company insists R&D dream up for the USA.

DisneySea is just the balls. If you like theme parks at all, GO.
