So tomorow I'm heading down to the German embassy in London to try for a fast track passport, I've been planing my trip for a while only to find out my passport had expired two days ago. I cant help but feel a little stupid...
So has anyone else had experience with this? I'm not really sure what to expect, I've heard they've really clamped down on giving them out so I'm a little worried about being grilled by a group of crazy germans for a few hours.

If you want to avoid to give them, ask for a temporary one. Valid for a year, should be about half as expensive and you get it immediately.
Did the same, no questions asked. Don't know how the situation in embassies is.

Why are you going to the German embassy for a passport?

I'm dual nationality. I've never had an English passport though and they only do fast track renewals.

Sounds promising.
I know they can refuse them though, and seing as I've never lived in germany and my knowledge of the language is pretty shitty, I feel like they're just going to tell me to fuck of and give up my german nationality.

According to this you need an appointment, and you should have a look at this as well:

In case you have already done that, ignore this.

Border controls in Germany aren't much of a problem, but I hate those people who join the "EU passports only"-line and clearly are not citizens of any EU country. Almost missed a connecting flight due to that once.
