I know this has been asked a billion times here in /trv/, but I'd like to know if /trv/ has a site preference on where to buy cheap plane tickets. I'll be traveling from LAX to Texas next December so I need to make reservation, like, NOW. In return, I offer plane wallpaper. Thanks in advance, anon.

Emirates is the shit for flying. Better than any US airline even in coach.

sidestep/kayak.com are good fare search engines that give you a graph of prices on dates in any given month to many international destinations. Always check airline websites for trans oceanic travel and google for budget airlines if you are flying within a country or to a neighboring country.

There is no consensus because there are differing results from each search engine. Some websites in certain countries are preferred; Lastminute in Australia, House of Travel in NZ, Expedia in Canada etc. Always cross-reference the prices on the site with the airline that you'll be flying, as it may be cheaper.

Oh and don't opt for airlines like Korean Air, Asiana, Qantas, Garuda, China Airlines, Air China as all of these are shit. And with the exception of Qantas, fucking dangerous too (trust me, my family is closely affiliated with the airline industry).

These airlines are epic and worth the cost:
- Etihad
- Cathay Pacific
- Emirates
- Air France
- British Airways
- LAN (Chile)

Singapore Airlines is also a good airline.
