One time, my university friends and I on student exchange took the ICE train to Oktoberfest.

One of my friends was wearing a rain coat and was in the middle of a big square full of people drinking and partying. Then the worst happened: Some drunken guy turned and threw up all over the front of my friend's coat.
He raced to get out of the crowd and assess the damage. By the time he reached the end of the square and could actually see his coat, it had been brushed clean ...

Enjoy your trip.

Cry me a river.
cCompared to most of the other European countries it's cheap.
It's not the Oktoberfest's fault that you're a cheap HartzIV whore. Enjoy your Turk infested shit hole.

supremacy =/= butthurt.

Liek Munich? Thanks, but no thanks, I'd rather leave the subway in one piece.

Afraid of 14 year old kids who want to play gangsta? 4 years in berlin now and never got a problem ... ok, once a few nazis gave me trouble - but that is another story.

>It's not the Oktoberfest's fault that you're a cheap HartzIV whore.

So €8.30 is a good price for 1L beer? Whoever buys this shit is retarded.

I think its just so wrong to visit germany just for the oktoberfest. Its like being held prison in Guantanamo Bay and declare that afterwards as a vacation in the US. There are so much more things worthier to visit than the oktoberfest.

But not Berlin. Hamburg, Dresden, Nuremberg, Stuttgart or even Frankfurt are better. Berlin is just a overhyped piece of construction sites and dirt. Like New York.

Is it overhyped? You bet. Is it still worth more than any of the cities you mentioned? Hell yeah.
Know the difference, nigga.
Also lol@Frankfurt. Jesus H. Christ...

here's some protips:
most of the tables in the big tents are reserved for companies. there's no chance getting a seat in the late afternoon or evening especially if you are a bigger group i.e. more than 2. so get there early to get a seat and stay there until the end.

in the tents it's only funny when you're drunk, but then it's really funny! but many make the mistake of drinking too fast. the trick is to be drunk just nicely for hours. oktoberfest beer is stronger then normal beer, the band and the people around you call you to drink all the time, waitresses are fast and the jugs big so you have always some beer in front of you. it's all laid out to get you totally shitfaced in no time. so take it slow if you don't want to puke your guts out or pass out at the table after 2 or 3 hours. really, this is a totally diffrent game then sitting in a bar or going to a party.

if you are not the kind of person who likes to dance on the benches while singing stupid songs or getting kicked in the back by other guys dancing on the benches while you like to drink your beer quietly i would recommend a seat just outside a tent in the beer garden. this is actually quite nice. fresh air, no noise. talking instead of shouting. but you still better come early to get a place.

if you're not going there to get drunk, get there early. untill mid-afternoon it's more of a family thing and real fun especially for kids with all the rides and stuff. of course there're also lots of fun rides for adults, too.
