sup /trv/ I got a similar thread on another board going on, but I'll rather be safe.

I'm in Tokyo right now, staying here for another 4 weeks and I'm new to the city. I travel alone, cause no one else I know could afford either time or money to do what I do right now. Anyway, it's Tokyo and it's huge and as it is always with big cities, it's hard to meet up with people by pure chance.

Any Anon currently in Tokyo (for work or school or vacation, whatever) who wants to meet up and hang out some time? Doesn't matter if it's for conversation and socialising, checking out tourist spots, drinking, clubbing, shopping or whatever.

No worries, I'm a nice guy and not an Akihabara rampaging idiot.

So no Anons here that want to go out and grab a drink tonight?

So ronery. ;_;

There's none in Tokyo.

Well, there might be. Try /jp/

I'm going to be there in 4 days--not too sure if I'd want to hang with anon.

My thoughts exactly. There are some really nice people here, but also a lot of fat basement dwellers with a huge expandable budget accumulated through living with their parents.

I wouldn't mind meeting up with a fellow Anon, as long as he/she (riiiiight) properly adapts to the local culture (no shouting, mobile phone in manner mode on the trains, be aware of your behaviour as perceived by others around you).

No, don't try /jp/.

>>31746
Holy fuck, you are incredibly Japanese. You must understand the culture perfectly.

Also I'm a vulnerable asian girl and trying to meet up with any kind of anon I'd be scared to do.
>> Anonymous
I wish I had the chance to meet up with a tiny girl Anon. Not for any creepy reasons, I'm actually overly nice and people generally have a really good time around me, but I'm 6'5 and dress like I should be in a parking lot before a Judas Priest concert. The look on their face before their mind snaps and they run away would be worth the trek to wherever we're meeting.

I don't claim to understand the culture here perfectly, but I don't stand out because of breaking the majority of the unwritten rules here. I'm not a native, but I'm not a tourist either.

I do stand out because of my length and appearance though..

OP here. This thread actually lives? I've met some people already right, but I'd still hang out with Anon, if anyone here wants to.

And I can't say I'm perfectly adapt to all customs here right now, but I try to get everything right and not be annoying in any way, as good as I can.

And I'm not American.

>>31752

I've never been told to be annoying or loud my entire life. I can assure you. And especially not in Japan. But I'm also quite new here, both to Japan and to Tokyo.

If you want to try something out, I'd still meet up, just because of the fact that I don't know much people that live here.

O.O

Go to the TIC and see if they have any weekly or monthly "things to do" newsletters, you're certainly going to find one in English. Use that newsletter to find out what's going on with expats. I know there is an expats magazine but I don't know the details of it. They have an office in Ikebukuro.

I'm here right now and will be for another two weeks. I wouldn't be entirely against meeting up with some anons. I'm not retarded to Japanese culture either (like an earlier post was mentioning). Perhaps all of us should meet up together, having more than two people would make things less awkward.

I'm ok with that (op again, duh). Now a third person and we're good?

I'll be here till mid June btw.

oh anon, why have you abandoned me.

>> Anonymous
>>31801
I'm still here.
>> Anonymous
Well, a friend and myself will be in Tokyo for a bit in early July. Wouldn't mind meeting up for some drinking.
>> Anonymous
Well now, let's make it clear for now:

Who would like to meet up for some drinks within the next 1-2 weeks?
>> Anonymous
>>32319
if some of you guys (2 or more I guess) decide to meet up I guess I too might be up for an izakaya or something. drinking is good.
>> Anonymous
I'm in Tokyo for 3 months, but the last thing I'd want is to hang out with someone who comes to this website.
>> Anonymous
>>32369

Anon is rather slow in deciding, I guess.

But maybe one or two more will join.
