I've been thinking about where to go if I should ever visit the US of A. I read a lot of Stephen King and I was wondering: what can /trv/ tell me about Maine?
>> Anonymous
it's just a bunch of trees and a shitty, rocky coastline

it's practically Canada

dont go there

I've never been there, but my dad's been all over the US and Maine is his favorite state.

Do Washington, it's like Maine 2.0, with a real city to sight see to boot.

i lived there for 20 years and although it is pretty in the fall you should not go there during any other season especially winter. winter in maine is the sort of icy hellscape that inspires mr. king's novels

It's good if you like nature shit and courtyside/forest. It's bad if you like civilization.

Number of trees: 58,982,500,000
Number of Deer: 4,000,000
Number of People: 1,200,000
Average Temperature: -12

That about sums it up

OP, maine is pretty sweet but definitely don't come in the winter.

come to portland; it thinks it's a city, but it's just a big town with some tall buildings... it is almost definitely the best place for any sort of culture that's not based on the woods.

go to acadia national park, or baxter state park, see some lighthouses all up and down the coast.

stephen king's house is in bangor and you can visit it. personally i am butthurt that he's from maine too, so i think he's a fagt, but by all means, enjoy yourself

just wait until at least may when it starts to warm up again

Maine is one of the two states where French is a spoken language (the other being Louisiana).

If you're going to Maine, why not just keep going and go to Canada?

I used to go to Ogunquit/York on Summer vacations with my parents. It's really nice

Yea you should probably stick to New England if you want any sort of prominence within the country. Try Boston or New Haven if you are too scared to go into NYC.

I like both nature shit and countryside/forest and places with tall buildings and lots of people. Where on Earth should I live, optimally?

Southern Maine, Boston is like 2 hours away and trees are like 2 minutes away
