Ok, /trv/. I'm going to India this summer for college credit. Our group starts out in Delhi and heads up to Uttaranchal. We take notes on the shit we see around there, and put a presentation together on it when we get back.

Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for getting along better in this country? All I'm doing right now is trying to learn Hindi, and getting my vaccinations in line.

Don't bother learning Hindi, they probably won't speak whatever dialect you're practicing anyway. I'm serious, there are like 30 some odd languages on the subcontinent and a whole truckload of dialects of each just to make your life difficult.

Stay away from the meat. It may smell good, but it's just the spices. Most of the time the meat will be bad. Only risk eating any if the place looks reeeeally clean and respectable.
