Hi /trv/

What is the cheapest/best GPS unit I can but that includes maps of Europe?

If I get a normal one (Garmin 200w) is there any way to download/buy the europe and canada maps separate?

cheapest =/= best

It is if you aren't rich. I don't need anything fancy, just directions and maps of Europe and the states.

Get a reasonable (cheap but reliable) GPS unit that supports memory cards. You should also make sure it uses a popular system like iGo for its maps. You should be able to buy the maps themselves for some tens of dollars, or just pirate them.

try a tamtam, it is a dutch company that sends mobile trucks all over europe to make its maps and keep them updated.

Not OP but just wondering while we have a thread open:

Does TomTom or Garmin cover Japanese maps? Do any have JP maps using the roman alphabet?
