I want to go somewhere with a desert and muslim architecture but I don't want to have a video of my head being chopped off sent to my mother. Any suggestions?

Spain has Islamic architecture. No deserts but the southeast has a very hot and dry climate.

morocco, has desert muslims and is like the cancun for eurotrash.

Also quit being a pussy, Ive been to Jordan and Syria recently no one will bother you. Hell there is even a large number of American students in Damascus studying abroad.

I don't seriously believe I'd have any problems. It's just that I'm a bit of a drunk and would prefer it to be somewhere more liberal. Desert is sort of a must because I've never seen one before and would like to check it out.

you've never seen sand? don't want to crush your dreams guy, but it's not that special.

I'm sure it'll be worth the experience even if that is the case. It's good to see the world right?

sand dunes are worth it I went from southern Algeria down through Mali and into Burkina Faso and the scale of a landscape that is surprisingly fluid will floor you.

Go to Dubai you will love it there or in general the United Arab Emirates

Go to southern Spain or Turkey, some of the most beautiful Islamic architecture as well as Christian architecture that dates back to Constantine.

Dubai? I'm pretty sure you can't party or even drink there.

Pre 2001 I would have recommended Pakistan. i've been there 4 times as a child/teen (parents were Pakistani). Well, specifically Karachi. Karachi is probably safe today too, I doubt you'd be kidnapped in the middle of the city. Beach, plenty of desert, both muslim and british architecture.

Another place that is also a bit iffy now, thanks to recent political developments, would be Lebanon. Beirut is supposd to be like a western city in terms of drink, nightlife, hawt babes. But some crazy shit is going down atm.

I suggest you look into Morocco and Tunisia.

And ironically, the most beautiful mosque i've ever seen was in Paris.

Yes, you can party/drink in the UAE. It's still a shit place, though. It's not the Middle East at all, shit for architecture except buildings going up, and Emiratis are complete faggots.

- The Levant:
-- Lebanon. It's not that fucking dangerous you pussies, 15 civilian casualties in a city of over a million last week? Pff! Besides, if you're a drunkard, you'll love the Beirut nightlife. As liberal as it gets. However, less desert, more mountains; less Islamic architecture and more modern buildings and ancient Roman ruins.
-- Jordan
-- Syria

- North Africa:
-- Egypt
-- Libya
-- Tunisia
-- Morocco

For the original Arab areas, you need to go to the Gulf. Saudi Arabia is, however, not very pleasant for KUFFAR SCUM. UAE is hardly ancient and Islamic anymore. Yemen has REALLY fucking beautiful architecture, though I don't think it's what you're looking for. It's also a shithole. Oman: loldunno

it is fucking dangerous. admit it, butthurt lebanese faggot.

Beirut is like the Las Vegas of the middle east. Nearly as many bombings, too.

Do all of us a favour and stay out of the Middle East if you think you're going to have your head chopped off.

I've heard that islamic cities have no night life.

Dubai is a fucking shithole, you have to put up with asshole expat workers AND a psychotic absolute monarchy that will behead you for having poppy seeds stuck to your shoe.

Go somewhere decent like Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, or Egypt if you want to gawk at the mohammadans and take pictures of the sand.

Syria's interesting. Just stay away from the borders with Iraq and Israel and you'll probably be fine.

Istanbul's almost like a part of Europe, but not. Go there. Those Turks had a tight grip over the middle east for some years.
