What would the best/cheapest way to get from somewhere in Manhattan to the Palisades Center in West Nyack?
>> Anonymous
There's a train from Penn Station that should take you fairly close. mta.info is your friend.

The cheapest way would be walking.

Thanks. Penn Station to Nanuet looks like it'd be the best option. Probably a stupid question, but would it be easy enough to get a taxi from the station to the mall?

i'm sure there's a bus

Oh? I'm afraid I'm not very knowledgeable about America's public transport system. I didn't even know how extensive New York's subway system is until earlier today.

I wouldn't count on a bus or hailing a cab. Especially hailing a cab. Those exurbs are pretty bleak for non-car owners. If you can afford one, schedule a local car service to pick you up. Or if you can 100% confirm that there's absolutely a bus (down to the route number, schedule, and service advisories), then maybe count on the bus.

Oh. Do you know where I might be able to check something like that?

The term "everything" comes to mind. One of the great cities of the world, and you want to go to a fucking MALL.

I'm going to NYC for several days, I'm just going to the mall to meet a friend. It wasn't my choice of meeting place.

This thread is really sad.

Why couldn't you tell your friend to meet you at Grand Central or some shit?

Wtf? I've heard that NYC has the best corned beef sandwiches and pizza (among other things) in the world, and you're gonna eat Taco Bell at a shitty mall food court? Epic Fail.

Short Line buses go from the Port Authority in Manhattan to the mall. it's a bit of a ride (~2 hours) and will run you about $16 round-trip, but it's pretty much the only way of getting between NYC and the mall without hiring a taxi or other car service, which is a lot of money.
http://www.coachusa.com/shortline <-- site for schedules and stuff. there are probably other bus lines that go there but this is the only one i know for sure.

also, total fail for going to the Palisades when you could be spending time in NYC. it's lame, trust me.

I've heard that NYC has the best Taco Bell food in the world. Replete with rat feces and everything! FUCKING AWESOME!

why do you just the train or greyhound?
