Yes, another "I'm going to Japan" thread from a weeaboo.

I'm just curious what the Japanese think of American immigrants, there seem to be a lot of misconceptions. I'm not going until I know fluent Japanese so I don't look like a huge faggot (it will be a few years) but if I have a job in mind and know fluent Japanese, how well will I be received?

unless its a job where being a foreigner will help.. like some kind of foreign relations or marketing to other foreigners or translations into English or something.. it will hurt you

you'll be received well with or without any Japanese.
If you want to work as anything besides an English teacher you NEED to be fluent, maybe you could get by on JLPT2 depending on the job.

Japanese people in general love Westerners so any misconceptions they have will be mostly positive. They may assume you're loud mouthed and rude but that perception is pretty easy to fix if you're not a douchebag. Also, many Japanese girls have a white guy fetish, so if you're not butt ugly/not a total social introvert you'll get attention.

They pretty much like foreigners, I've been there twice myself and I'm sitting JLPT lvl 3 this year, I should be able to pass it, so its not that hard, there's english everywhere

they don't really give a fuck

also, don't expect a job that isn't english teaching unless it's with a gaishikei company or if you significantly outskill the locals in your area of expertise
