Hey /trv/,

So, I'm looking at my possibilities for living in other countries (amerifag here) post college graduation. By the time I get out I'll have a degree in civil engineering (structural engineer) and a minor in german and spanish. Any other anons out there have engineering degrees? Are they jobs that are in demand in other countries? Or will my out of country experience be mostly limited to vacationing?

China and Russia are experiencing huge construction booms right now. India might be too, but I can't see anyone with a good education wanting to live there long term.

you are correct, for actual construction(like you know, construction workers) they are using cheap chinese labor

no idea about the actual engineering part, I just read that they use everyone from tons of countries

you can find a job in any western (or westernizing) country with an engineering degree. you also could try tog et a job with a US-based firm that does lots of foreign work.

obviously, because of your minors, germany, spain, argentina, mexico, austria, and all english-speaking countries would be a good choice.
