ROME

It's an interesting city, but I'm having trouble figuring out what to do because it has so damn much. There for 5 days. Interested in historic stuff, but don't want to see just that.

Noone has seen the classic? I'm sure there's a few tourists around here. I'd be happy just to hear what you personally enjoyed.

Roman here,
aside the museums that i'm sure you know pretty much i suggest going to Campo de' Fiori at night. There are lots of tourists enjoying nightlife and lacals too. If you want something similar but with less police presence (use this information at your own discrection ) try San Lorenzo area, is full of university students so you might meet interesting people. Have fun!

You'll want a guided tour of the Vatican otherwise you'll just being wondering around going WTF? I suggest romaround tours. romaround.com. They are native english speakers and generally are entertaining because they don't take it too seriously.
