Travelling alone Anonymous
g'day /trv/
I've got a (ten day) break from work coming up in a couple of months, and I'm determined to get out of Australia and spend at least a week of it abroad. Money isn't a problem, but I'm only 19 years old so most of my mates are either too busy getting shitfaced to want to travel, or are in uni and are in poverty and can't afford an overseas trip.

So, I'm facing the prospect of planning, booking and executing a short overseas holiday alone. I've never done this before, and my initial consideration is whether it will be worth it. Can a satisfying (as subjective as that term may be) trip be accomplished within a week, or has /trv/ found that it's not worth it? What's a good country for a short visit? Is it worth traveling alone, or does it end up really shitty?
Has anyone out there had a similar experience, and what advice can they offer?
TIA

I really like wilderness travel, I dont know if this is in your line of travel but I love to do things like spend a few weeks making my way across the Canadian rockies through backcountry, or hiking across northern Arizona. I dunno thats just me

pic related its my trip up through Quebec and Labrador to Baffin island

Shared fun is twice the fun. You could hook up with a complete stranger who has the same plans, and there are probably travel agencies for young people who might be able to help in this.
