It was a terrible thing to do but in the context of ending the war and preventing an ACTUAL nuclear confrontation with the USSR (through fear) it was justified. I could argue plenty more but I'd rather leave it at that.

Cool idea, actually, pretty well all the radiation has dissipated and all that remains is people who've been genetically mutated/cancerfied, none of which is a result of actually living there. On the plus side it'd be cheaper. FAR safer than Chernobyl or any other nuclear site.

It seemed like an okay place when I visited it a bit over a year ago. I was there just for one day though, so maybe it's really horrible to live in or something.

This was back around '99 to '00, so things might have changed since then, but when I was there, there weren't many neighborhoods where it was safe for a white person (or any non-japanese for that matter) to be out in past sundown.
