Eurofag, new to /trv/, etc.

I'm going to Boston this next weekend. I'm actually visiting a friend who's working there and is busy most of the day, so it could be said I'll be on my own.

I'll admit that, as much as I love preparing my trips, I hadn't have time to plan this one (a lot of work, made the decission to go only a week ago, etc). I'm at a loss as to what to do during the day once I get there and I really don't want to bother my host asking her "what should I do today?" every morning. This is were you guys come in:

What can a European 24 year old do in the Boston area? In principle money is not a problem.

I fear American sports crowds are too bland for a soccer fan as myself. Plus, I'd like to stay away from typical sightseeing spots like Fenway, that lame whale watching thing, etc.

Oh, I also have to note that I'm staying in there for almost three weeks.

Yeah, I know, my friend's apartment is actually located in there. The thing is I eat, at most, three times a day. I need some things to do other than eat pizza and gnocchi.

Per example, is there any nice place to do some sport (jogging, bike, etc)? I'm aware that Boston has its good amount of parks, it'll probably be easy to find a good one.

Is it impolite to bump threads in here? Well, I'm doing it anyway, hoping more Bostonians are lurking at this time of the day.

Go to a bar or club and get completely hammered for at least one of the nights.

If want a park, try Boston Commons or the Charles River Esplanade.

Is it a local tradition? Because I already do that on a regular basis.

Took note of your suggestions, thank you guys.

I have the parks and restaurants parts covered, how about some museums/galleries other than the MFA? I heard good things about the Isabella Stewart Gardner. Also, is it worth spending a day or two outside of the city of Boston, maybe visiting some little town along the coast?

Even if you don't give 2 flying craps about American History, its a pretty cool walk.
