Hey /trv/

I am moving out of Canada (Too many fuckin' mooses) and I am looking for places to go to.

I was considering southern coast of Spain. ~Low costs, more or less of a language barrier, lovely coastal cities.

18 years old, totally fluent in both English and French ... What do you think ? Would I be able to get a job and have some fun ?

Malaga, Barcelona ...

(Pros and cons would be GREATLY appreciated.)

Fellow Canadafag here. Two things: You should learn Spanish and get a college or university degree. Also, you're Canadian, you speak Quebec French which is considered hick speak in Europe.

I can deal with learning some Spanish, but I'd rather just go there and get a job in tourism or something (In a bar or w/e) ... I doubt it can be that hard to get a somewhat descent job. (a.k.a no nigger labor)

As for hick speak ... So what ? I won't hang out with people that will judge my sophistication level by my accent anyways.

Is spanish hard to pick up ? I have a natural talent for picking up accents and learning different languages.

OK, Spain is one of the worst European countries to move to. Their economy is in a slump, which they've never had a strong economy, anyways. Getting a job will be very tought for an unskilled foriegner that doesn't spean spanish. I have no idea why you want to move there.

The price of living isn't @%#@^ like in London or Paris, I don't have to learn the Syrillic alphabet (See : Prague) The language is easy to pick up for me, lovely place ...

Where else could I go, then ?

I'd really, really like to hear suggestions.

Whats wrong with Canada? Or the United States for that matter?

IF you speak French... you could maybe live in France or one of its overseas territories?

If I was to move to some European country I'd learn German and move to Austria. Unless ypu have a high-paying job or some other tangable reason to expatroit to another country, its generally a bad idea to do so.

Why Spain? Not even Spanish people really like living there, plus, their food sucks.

I wanna see something else for a good while, travel, see stuff ... You know.

Then join the Army and deploy to Iraq or something. Expatrioting and moving to Europe to "see stuff" is like buying a passenger jet because you love to eat alot of roasted peanuts.

Go to the States then. Not as far, lots to see, and they drive on the same side of the road. Go to Disneyland, see the Grand Canyon, visit Yellowstone and the California coast. Just get a degree in something first so we don't have to support you.

Hey it isn't like I even MENTIONED Virginia there, or visiting friends or anything. Suspicious thing, aren't you...

Go to somewhere like in the Balearic islands or another party/holiday destination, most of the bars are run by foreigners, mainly English speaking ones to cater for the huge numbers of party goers from the UK, you can get a job in a bar,

thats about the best way to get along in Spain if you don't speak Spanish...
