A unwarranted sense of superiority to mask the fact that you're no longer a major player in the world.

Opinionated, yet foul-smelling.

france, germany and britain are the power triumvirate of the EU.

I daresay even Kosovo, a nation not even truly sovereign yet, let alone an EU member, has more influence.

From Germany, bring them Baumkuchen, the most delicious cake in existence.

it's a bit of a mystery to me. Even though Italy has roughly the same voting and economic weight as the triumvirate, everybody acts like it doesn't matter much.
They must suck at lobbying

we're higly skilled in proving ourselves utterly ridiculous, like special children thrown into the game for massive lulz

ahahahahaha, no.
Germany is THE superpower in europe. But our government is fears, if we play our cards openly the french would shit themselves again and the US would bomb us to oblivion.
We pull the strings behind the scenes and let france and britain play the bosses.

France should give up it's seat on the UN security council in favor of either Germany or a EU seat. It's no longer a world power, the UN security council was made when France had an overseas empire. Now they have French Guiana.

Germany and France are like two Brothers.
Germany is the bigger brother with the ideas and France is the smaller brother who says "yes" to everything after he got his ass kicked by his bigger brother.

Germany:"Atomic energy is bad! Let's ban it!
France:"But we need it. It's not so-"
Germany:"NO IT'S BAD!"
France:"But I wa-"*BITCHSLAP*
Germany:"So everybody agrees that atomic energy is bad?" *VERYBADLOOKTOFRANCE*
France:"grrmmml...yeah...bad and so...grrml...nazi...."
Germany:"What was that?"
France:"Nnnnnnothing..."

It was made right after they were stomped over by germany.

But reasons aside, yeah, Germany should be in the security council, now that Turkey is lobbying to get into it - we need nazis to counter them.

Know nothing about European history, do we ?
France won both world wars (while Germany lost them).
As for nuclear energy, far from having banned it, France uses it to produce the vest majority of its electricity, and is selling it all over the world. And they launched a new nuclear submarine (armed with a new generation of nuclear missiles) only yesterday - and Sarkozy insisted again on the necessity of a nuclear force on this occasion.
And they imposed their idea of a Mediterranean union (while Germany was against it at first).

Don't know which parallel universe you live in, but here it's the complete opposite, evidently.

Also, as a German, let me tell you that the French are probably among the least likely to call us nazis. And that's despite them having more reasons to complain about that period.

Probably because they were too busy collaborating with you to care. ZING!

Seen from the outside, neither France for Germany are able to run Europe alone.
Every time a new President or Chancellor comes into office, he/she tries to get the lead of Europe, and fails, every time. After about a year, he/she realizes that the other country is required. Recently, it happened to Sarkozy. He since came to his senses and look, Europe is moving forward again.

France+Germany is enough to drag the rest of Europe along, on the other hand.
As some anon pointed out, the UK is only partly European, Italy can't even manage to rule itself, and all the others are too small in terms of population and economy.

They declared war on Hitler (in September 1939). While the US and USSR waited until Germany declared war on them.
