Sup /trv/,

What's cool to see in Auckland / New Zealand's north Island? I'm gonna be there for 5 days.

Well there goes my suggestion for a gay bar

I suggest renting a vehicle and driving around the island. The countryside is much nicer than the city.

I don't like Auckland. It's ok if you like to experience a big city, but the smaller towns around the North Island are much more charming and interesting, with a lot of great natural environments to enjoy around them. Try Wanganui, Palmerston North, New Plymouth and Napier (they're my favourite ones that I've visited). Wellington is bigger but it's also a great city.
Try some fishing at some of the smaller fishing towns if you're into that kind of thing. Also, you must go hiking at one of the mountains/sleeping volcanoes there, it's bloody awesome. I climbed up one very good one but I forgot the name... it was some Maori name.

Yeah, there's a bit of a start. I don't live in NZ now by the way, I'm an Ausfag who lived in Palmerston North for a while.

Oh, and with the mention of volcanoes, you also must try bathing in the hot springs near them.

If you look across the water, you can nearly see Australia. That's the best part of NZ.

Just kidding. In all seriousness, I really enjoyed Auckland.
Make sure you spend some time on Karangahape (or however the fuck you spell it) street to hit the piss. It's an awesome drinking joint.

If you're more of a sceneryfag head to the mountains. Or to northland. Both are really nice.
