Hello /trv/. This isn't exactly travel related, per se, but I couldn't think of a better place to post it, so here goes./trv/, my city is the absolute epitome of stupidity. Mainly, stupidity in our excess. It's a city of 20,000-ish residents. Not small, but not huge either. Basically a mid-sized city. But in this mid-sized city, we have:-Over 10 pizza places.-Three Dollar General stores, and one Family Dollar.-Three drugstores, all chains, the arrival of the most recent forcing the closure of a local pharmacy that had been a staple of the city for decades.-Four Chinese cuisine restaurants.-Five cash advance places.-Three video rental stores.-Two McDonald's.-Three tattoo parlorsNow, I understand that it's important to have options and variety when it comes to businesses, but some of this just seems beyond stupid. We have too many of several types of business, and not enough/none of others. I guess that's what you get when you live in a city whose mayor is a 22 year old kid (seriously).
The businesses will close if they cannot get the business needed. There is no such thing as "too much", only viable and not viable. The greatest thing? You don't dictate who opens businesses. And how old are you, exactly?
I don't mean to troll, but 20,000 is actually really really small in most places.
sounds like your average town to me
