Government Buildings Anonymous
in this thread we post pics of important buildings of your governments. This huge piece of shit right here is the Scottish Parliament building. The building itself is a huge disgrace and cost £414 million. I mean...JUST LOOK AT SHITTY ARCHITECTURE GODDAMN!!!

Royal Palace, Madrid, Spain. Built in the 18th century due to having pillaged and enslaved countries like>>77278

However, it is a national monument today and only used by the royalty for diplomatic purposes. The king and queen's official residence is located in a placed called Zarzuela Palace.

Actually, you enslaved people in Peru and Mexico. Here you just killed everything on sight. Then you used our ports to ship all the silver you stole from Peru.

You made us your guilty associates, Spainfag ;_;
Until we went on a revolutionary spree and liberated half the continent.

The entire city of Canberra, because although it's a hole inside a crater inside a ditch, it's arguably a UNESCO World Heritage contender

Is that really Scotland? Because it looks like there are ruins of a Greek or Roman temple in the background.

And I think that building is pretty cool!

Welcome to Mini Westminster!
>> Anonymous
>>78854
It's only unimpressive when you compare it against the size of similar western structures.
The only relatively "large" building like this that we had was destroyed in WWII. It was Palac Saski (Palace of the Saxons. Long story behind the name, won't go into it. Google it if you want.) They're rebuilding it now.
>> Anonymous
>>78854
It's not impressive, but it's not ugly methinks. Also, why the Roman theme with the statues?
>> Anonymous
>>78862
Well if you consider that most everything built in the neoclassical style draws from Roman architecture it's not all that strange.

Dude, no, Oscar Niemeyer. That's beautiful. Better go learn about modernism and architecture in general!
>> Anonymous

>>79022
I know Oscar Niemeyer's work very well.
There are some awesome buildings made by him, but a lot of them are brutalist.
Don't tell me to go learn about architecture, you brainwashed idiot. Learn to develop some critical skills. Not every single building by Oscar Niemeyer is wonderful.
Pic related: The recently built National Library in Brasilia. Look at how fucking ugly that building is, looks more like a communist housing project than a national library.

Durr hurr that means a lot.

No. That representative (Governor General) is a Canadian and appointed by Canadians and in practice doesn't represent the Queen at. All the Queen does is come by for an occasional visit. Learn2foreign politics. Pic related, thats our real "Queen".

>lol nah, I'm from the States, I'm just making fun of you for losing the revolution
Canada wasn't part of the American Revolution. And Canada's eventual independence was successful.
