What about garlic and silver bullets, are they necessary?
Also, I've heard that Croats eat little children, especially tourists. Is that true?

Only if they're not from Catholic countries. But seriously, try not to get knifed or drowned, it happens a lot with tourists.

What the fuck? Friends of my family went to Dubrovnik 2 or 3 years ago, and they never felt remotely unsafe.

Just use common sense, like for anywhere else and you'll be fine.

This faggot above you must be some Serbian propaganda fag, Croatia = normal (as much as a Balkan cuntry can be normal). There are no minefields, no people waiting in ambush with hatchets etc. Bad things do happen, such as muggings etc., but they happen in pretty much every country around the world so just use common sense like you said.

I went to Croatia last year and stayed for a week. It is beautiful and the weather along the coast is amazing. Dubrovnik ranks up there with one of my favorite cities in the world. Definitely go to the old walled city of Dubrovnik. Walk around day and night. Croatia is a safe country. Me and a friend checked out the cities at night all the time and never experienced anything unsafe or strange.
While you are there, you must eat cuttlefish risotto, or some other kind of risotto. It's good, I promise. Croatian seafood and especially mollusks are amazingly fresh and tasty.
Take a walk on top of the walls of the city to get some nice views of the roofs and the water.
If you have a chance, go to Zagreb as well. It has some run-down areas, but their is a main road (forget the name) that cuts through it that has plenty of eateries and shops.
Also, open-air markets are a must.
