>apparently the French like brown girls >I look like a spaniard, or Greek. >No one in Europe likes Americans.
These don't really apply to France because their country was made up of many once-independent states, some of which had quite different populations. They often can tell that someone is from Alsace, Bretagne, Provence ... just by his name, accent, hair/skin color or lifestyle. Some regions even have languages that are completely unrelated to French. In addition, they conquered parts of neighboring countries (Italy, Spain, German Empire) and they've had immigrants from all over the world for centuries now. Thus, they're typically highly tolerant of "foreigners". This is reinforced by their national ideals of equality, and it's the country of the human rights (which apply to *all* humans, not just French citizens). So apart from the odd racist (who are seen as scum), they don't care what your color / nationality / religion is. That's why looking "brown" or greek-ish isn't a "problem" there. That's also why being an American WASP isn't an "advantage" in itself.
Other European countries have different attitudes, however.
