My mother just landed a job that requires her to travel a bunch. With airlines charging for checked baggage - she'd like to look into a reasonable carry-on.

Anybody have any pictures or name brands for such a thing?

What country are you (ordering) from?

My dad bought me an Alstermo Bruk carry on case when I first started travelling. He's had one for 40 years, I hope that I'll have mine for as long.

Any good department store should have a good range though, many have been making models that are mm perfect to fit inside the airport size limits.

13+ years ago, my aunt bought my this duffel bag by a company called La Fuma. Says a lot that it's still with me, because I destroy almost anything related to travel, clothing, etc. Also, there's a company called Eastsport that hawks their backpacks in Walmart. I had a backpack from them for like 7 years. I eventually destroyed that and replaced it with a Timberland one that I bought for cheap from a friend. It is also a sturdy powerhouse. All these items are relatively inexpensive and, believe me, I have pummeled the shit out of them and they far exceeded the length of time you think they'll last for the price. These would also weigh considerably less and have more room than anything with handles, wheels, and feet.
