Thinking of going on holiday, girlfriend is thinking Singapore.

Never heard anything of the place except that one thing some time back about us going apeshit about them lashing some fat vandal kid.

What should I know, tell me stories, etc.

Tropical weather.

Few attractions - should not take more than a week. There is Sentosa, Orchard Road, the Singapore Zoological Gardens, Singapore Bird Park and etc.

Has food from all around the world.

You can survive with just english there.

Extremely strict drug laws. Don't try.

Chewing gum cannot be sold legally. However, if you manage to get some past the customs, it is legal to chew.

Nightlife - Clarke Quay and several others places.

Everything is expensive compared to the rest of Southeast Asia.

And don't vandalise anything because they caned (4 lashes) that fat kid you mentioned.

???
It was Japan that attacked in WW2. Britain had a bajillion garrison troops there (incl. Australians, Indians, canadians etc) and they were attacked by land instead of sea, losing everything while causing very few casualties to the Japanese.

Naturally, Singapore went on to blame Malaysia and the British, splitting off, even though practically every measure available was made to try to defend it.

It was the Malaysians who punted Singapore out, saying that the communist Chinese would mess up their country or something. IRONY.

It's not fascist. not exactly. and if the country's rich, why complain?

>>47366
It was because Malaysia has a population that mostly comprises of Malays and the Chinese are minorities, therefore requiring a system that's somewhat biased against the minorities, including the Chinese, in order to please the majority. However in Singapore Malays are a minority, making such a system ineffective and unfair. Thus the split.

Racism isn't just about blacks and whites in other parts of the world.

I wouldn't recommend Singapore, not many things to see there. Nearby SEA countries like Thailand, Malaysia or Indonesia have so much more to offer.

Butthurt Singapore-fag detected. Singapore is not fascist but it's close to it and the amazing thing is that the citizens are pretty much tools and proud of it. You being a prime example.

Singapore's not fascist. It's closer to being a monarchy, seeing that the position of Prime Minister is inherited from father to son.

Who cares if Singapore's fascist? The only time it matters if a country is fascist is if they are capable of raising an army and fucking shit up.

Considering how they force all of their men into the army, they probably are.

Singaporeans are retardedly nationalistic considering they're only a Chinese colony.

Seconded. Only go there to shop or eat the food, it's a pretty metropolitan city so there are not so many novelty things to witness. Thailand is an amazing place, it would be much more worthwhile.

Chindia owns us much more than the US does now, although the US (Japan a bit, too) is still important.
