I know most of you will laugh, but here's the deal.

Ever since I was a kid, we would go on family vacations every sumner. My parents would always ask us where we wanted to go, and I always said "Disney World". Guess where we never went. You got it. Disney World.

Now that I'm an adult, I have the money to take my own trip to Disney World, and I'm starting to plan it. I want to do it right, so I want to go during the summer with all the other tourists. It's probably too late for this summer, so I'm looking at going next year. I want to spend, at the very least, a week.

What are the best places to go? Where should I stay? In what order should I visit the parks/attractions? What should I definitely not miss?

Magic Kingdom is gonna take more time than any other places. You can whip through animal kingdom in a couple hours and epcots just a bunch of broing learning shit. All the good stuff is in Magic Kingdom or MGM.

I LOVE Disney world. if you wanna do it right get an Animal Kingdom room overlooking the courtyard, which consquntially is a zoo.

Don't bother with Animal Kingdom, imho. MGM and Epcot are cool, but Magic Kingdom is the biggest. Hit it up. Make sure to watch the after-dark parade/fireworks, they're *~*magical*~*

Hit up the tower of terror too. good shit. also, use fastpasses. Even if it says come back in three hours, it's worth it.

So it is socially acceptable for an adult to want to go to Disney World?

I feel less bad.

I was told that The Grand Floridian was the place to go. Anyone have experiences? I know it's pricey, but I've got the money, but my question is, is it worth it?

I enjoyed Animal Kingdom, but I agree that if you aren't into animals, you may not enjoy it as much.

There should be a DVD you can order that you can get for free from Disney that will help you plan your trip. I have one from years past when I too, like you, were promised a trip. It really depends on how much money you want to spend. The cheaper hotels are still nice so don't hesitate, but I personally want to stay at the Contemporary.

I would strongly reccomend going in the off season. The traffic isn't as heavy and the prices are lower.

You should do the big 3. Epcot, Magic Kingdom, and the movie one.

Disney World will try to pimp its hotels. They are alot more expensive, but you do get to stay in the park after it is closed for a few more hours. They are available in different themes and located in each kingdom.

fuck you, epcot is the best.

I live in Miami and went a bunch in my youth, all were interesting but Magic Kingdom is by far the hottest ticket. Can't take it all in one night without rushing it, i'd plan on going there twice. As an adult,, i found it fun during grad night when i was drunk off my ass and a year later with my gf on acid. Can't imagine going any other way

def go in off season. sept/oct are best cuz it's still warm (not scorching like june'njuly) and the tourists are gone. Might not even need an express pass for the rides which is ESSENTIAL otherwise. also, take pot. A million awesome places to light up if you're careful

micechat.com is THE place to ask any type of questions you have about the parks.

If you're as ecstatic about WDW as you say you are and haven't been there before, a week sounds good to cover everything. Go on everything, do everything, don't miss anything. Go on the site, go look for maps of the kingdoms and pick out your must sees and go on from there.

every park is nice. grand floridian and contemporary are both nice resorts. the polynesian or whatever is more of a kid friendly place. i would visit the magic kingdom the first day then mgm on the second. epcot in the morning of the third (its a nice relaxation park imo...walk around and "visit" the world) and finish the afternoon and night of with the magic kingdom (see the fireworks AND get the afterhour passes to have more fun on the majority of the rides). typhoon lagoon (waterpark) on the fourth and then animal kingdom in the morning and downtown disney (shopping) or whatever its called in the afternoon on the fifth. animal kingdom doesnt have that much to offer and is more oriented towards kids but its still fun. thats the way i would hit things up. as someone said you have to plan about 2 days for magic kingdom and of course you want to go there first since its the image everyone has in their head.

as for the best places to go and what to not miss? its all preference. although i would suggest getting dinner reservations in the castle one night. other then that just eat at the hotel or at epcot the other nights. just browse disneys wide variety of sites and shenanigans to get an idea.

i would definately plan on heading their in the late summer or in september/october. but if you really must go with all of the tourists then doooo eeeet!

ahhh, the last time i went to disney land (the one in LA, not florida) was back in 8th grade. i was an idiot and just kept going on the same rides over and over again and before i knew it it was time to go and i had only seen half of the park. my advice to you is to be sure and see as much of the place as you can BEFORE you start going on the same rides over and over again.

Since you'll have the time, don't miss Disney's water parks. It's the difference between craft beer and Budweiser.

Florida during the summer is dreadful.

Also, Disney plans their hotel rates by the time of the year. If you go in the area of Jan-Feb or so you can get the cheapest possible hotel rate, which is good because that's one of those destinations where it takes about a week to "see everything."

If you really can't wait until early next year, at least wait until wintertime. The holiday decorations only make it more charming.

No. Micechat is full of scary 36 year old children who can do the whole "welcome aboard the Magic Kingdom" train speech by heart. allearsnet.com is the best INFORMATION site for tourists. wdisneyw.co.uk also has some unique information regarding room sizes, etc.

If you wanted to hear why Disney was better 30 years ago, or you wanted to find out what the postal address for the Castle is, then go ask those nerdfags at Micechat.

Summer at Disney World with other tourists?
You best be jokin. Expect a shitload of lines(even with fastpass),expensive prices for hotels and the great Florida heat.

Protip:February after presidents week is the best way to go. But avoid summer if you can. Oh and ride Tower of Terror.

July/August is no time to be in central Florida. You will be covered in sweat 30 seconds after you walk out of your hotel. There will be hundreds of sunburnt Britfags/Eurofags everywhere. Thousands of screaming kids, "I'm hot, I'm tired, Goofy touched me" blah blah blah.

Go when kids are in school and its not 9000 degrees.

September (after Labor Day) or October is the best time to visit if you want the summer experience, but without the crowds. January and February are best for lack of crowds and heat. Just be aware that January and February are months during which Disney likes to take down attractions for maintenance.

Hey, used to work there. It's good to go there for summer trips but not in the winter, esp around the holidays... xmas and new years... that's the most busy time of the year for wdw. The Magic Kingdom hits capasity about 30 min after opening and all traffic is redirected to Epcot... the fireworks around that time are overrated... btw the best place to view the Magic kingdoms fireworks is outside the park at the transportation and ticket center's ferry boat dock... clear view of the castle and the music for the show is piped in down there... have fun.
