Hey /trv/, I am now in eleventh grade if we follow the American school system and i am thinking of spending next year in USA as a student. What do i need to prepare for when it comes to culture, school and the likes?(Will it be very different from what I'm used to? I'm Norwegian) Does /trv/ think it's USA is a good choice? and if not, what other country should i think about going to? Thanks for you help

Well since it appears you speak fluent English then it'll be a breeze for you. All 1st world countries are pretty much the same (Japan maybe being the exception).
The USA is a great choice since there's so much to do/see. What city were you thinking of and do you get to choose your school placement?

I was thinking of Seattle or some place on the west coast. but it's not really up to me, we live with families that choose which student who gets to stay with them.

just make sure you only are here for a year because this country is about to have a horrible economic crash

Just don't throw the foreign card around too much ( gets you girls but alienates you) and you should be good.

Hahahaha I dont think that will help since he will have a euro accent when he speaks english & everyone will pick up on that. I do agree though it will get a lot of girls to talk to him but it will just annoy the guys because theyre talking to him for no reason other than he has an accent.

This french kid(was in my spanish class) came to america with his family & all these bitches were drooling over him. The kid was only like 5' 6" & not even 120lbs but all the girls fawned over him which made me rage internally & almost kick his ass a few times.

But yea OP not sure what kind of a family youre going to be set with & remember what I wrote above. From the foreign exchange students that came to my HS they wrote in the yearbook about getting lost & using a locker. Not sure how big your HS is in norway or if you have lockers. Also remember the dam bus #/schedule it will fuck you up sometimes.
