Sup, /trv/.

Honeymoon coming up, we are going to Vegas. It should be awesome, we'll be there six days, five nights.

Please give suggestions for things we should do there.

We already plan to:
Go to Madame Tussaude's Wax Museum
Attend Phantom of the Opera
Stay at the Mirage

Vegas isn't worth the stay for a honeymoon. So unromantic and doesn't feel personal at all. It's a great place to fuck around but it's not good for a honeymoon.

OP here. The main reason we're going is because Phantom of the Opera runs there. It's my dream to see that, and that limits our options to Vegas, NYC and London. NYC and London hold no interest for me, and Vegas is pretty much entertainment capital of the US. Or so people say.

Also, I have no interest in beaches.

Why would we want to see naked/half-naked people on our honeymoon??

The buffet in the Mirage is really good, as is the pool. Buy some 1$ margaritas on the street at casino royale and enjoy the open container rule

Fremont street is a must go. Not so much tourists as on the strip and more like the "old" Vegas. There are still casinos with coin machines.
Also the giant screenshows are nice, but watch out for the thieves.

Anon, I live in Vegas, and I have seen our Phantom show.

Due to union restrictions (as well as the "get 'em back in the casino" mentality no doubt), our Phantom show is 90 minutes long. This was accomplished by cutting out a lot of spoken material since they wanted to keep all the songs in. Some people think our show is better for the changes, others think it is worse. The only thing that's true is that it is abridged.

While there's a lot of fun things to do here, I wouldn't come here just for being a Phantom nut or you might be disappointed. That and we lost our awesome Christine to the upcoming Little Mermaid show on broadway.

Are you serious?? This is DEVASTATING news to me. We'll still go but thank you for the fair warning. I'll be sure to go in with lowered expectations.

I did see the show once during their traveling tour years back, but I wanted to share the experience with the Mr. (OP is a girl peeps)

The honeymoon is from August 18 thru the 23rd. I haven't looked for actual discounts/deals because most shows I know of don't book that far out yet.

Fear not. There's some kick-ass shit with the chandelier at the start of the show that assembles above your head, and some extra special effects. However, there's also some slight changes. When the chandelier falls, rather than swinging down into the stage it just falls straight down onto "the audience" (i.e. You.) Instead of choking him out at the climax, Phanty summons a torture chamber out of the ground around Raoul, etc.

Anyway, yeah, it's a Reader's Digest show (which is why it's given it's called PHANTOM Vegas or something instead of The Phantom of the Opera) but whether it's good or bad is up to the individual, ALW did oversee it all himself, and while it's a shame the Christine from opening left, the main Carlotta that I saw was awesome. Both main and understudy Phantoms are okay, almost have difficulty hitting some notes, so I thought they wouldn't last.

Anyway, go see it. Even if you don't like the reduced running time, the extra special effects make it cool.
