What's a good country for an American to live very comfortably in after retiring early ?

I was thinking Laos or Thai Land. My first pick would be Russia though, but I know little to nothing about it. Could someone estimate about how much I would need to retire in a decent country. I wouldn't want a country where whites are hated, civil unrest, or too 3rd world.

Any ideas ?

a. Both places are very large retirement spots; can't really get more "comfortable" than retiring where there are other older people in a fairly familiar setting that requires none of the effort you would otherwise need to put forth in learning another language, spending inordinate amounts of time/money in getting everything set, actually immigrating, etc.
b. You didn't lay out anything other than being able to live very comfortably, no location, weather, etc.
c. Your first pick for retirement is, uh...Russia, although you admittedly know nothing about it or what you would have to do to ensure that it could actually be done.

What's your monthly pension you have to live on? That would help a lot.

Wow, dude, retiring in RUSSIA? Thats the most rediculous thing I have seen today, and I browsed /b/ for an hour.
If you want to retire in some other country you should look for something peacefull, something cheap, something with a nice climat, something with no tradtion of buttfucking foreingers and elderly. Try some central or south america country, or some island country. Trust me, you dont want to be retired in Russia, well, unless you are so extreme you have 3 balls.
Better yet, live in America, travel around the world.

lol something tells me op has no idea what a pension is...obvious underage b& is obvious, who thinks he'll instantly be making six figures at a cakewalk job so he'll be able to 'retire early' to a far away land at 35...

Curious things, Americans. Choose the country with easy language to study, the go. Don't even think about Russia, too tough for you. Also, things here cost much more than in your USA.

No why, OP can get a nice little apartment in Tushino and eat cheap fruits from the immigrant rinoks.

PROTIP: Russia hates immigrants, especially those with non-white skin. If you did manage to immigrate there, it would probably take an extremely long time until you could actually sit back and be able to say "this is my home"...but why would you want to do that anyways? Russia, OP? Come on...retire here, and travel often. It would be so much easier and cheaper.

It is not economically beneficial to retire in the US.

Look up some American expat web communities or something. There are thousands of Americans out there who've left the States for greener pastures, they've probably got some advice to give you.

Russian Siberian is here.

>but I know little to nothing about it

Well go get a knowledge, stop being retarded dumbass. Start from wiki or some travel websites.

It's not clever to retire in Russia, our economy is unstable, and the retirement system should be recreated :/

Source? It really isn't helpful to anyone just giving what's probably a jaded opinion with nothing to back it up.
Of course it's economically beneficial to retire in the U.S. for Americans, at least out of all the industrialized countries out there. Yeah, if you want to go to a place like Mexico where everything's 70% cheaper, there's that, but there's still a lot of other hidden costs like immigration fees, losing government benefits you would get if you were in the states, taxes, work permits, and negotiating foreign bureaucracy (that can apparently be a nightmare), just to name a few. Just think if you had to put up with all that shit in a modern country like France. Don't think most older people would go through the bother of all that.

He's a US CITIZEN. It's not economically viable for a US CITIZEN to RETIRE in the US. Moving to another country would alleviate much tax burden. Learn to international tax law or shut the fuck up.

Lower cost of living in foreign countries makes it highly appealing for people to retire abroad...or two.

Marry a Russian whore. You get all the cultural experience of a slav mongrel screaming moon at you, but she fucks around behind your back instead of stealing your kidneys.

Thailand has a strict policy amongst retirement visas. I'd check with their embassy or even the US embassy for more information on the requirements. Whites aren't hated per se in Thailand, but if you don't speak the language you will often times find yourself at a disadvantage(that's unless you stay within the designated "farang"[foreigner] areas). They are quite crafty when it comes to small time scams but if you get cheated enough, you'll find yourself running out of $$$ quite fast.

As for civil unrest, Thailand while it has made much progress there are still military coups' every now and then. "Whites" don't usually encounter any problems as it is really an issue amongst the Thais'.

There's lots to do and lots to learn. Thailand's a pretty decent country if you can survive it.

As for Laos, forget about it. Their economy is so much further into the crapper than Thailand, and corruption compared to Thailand is almost 2x worse. It's a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't retire there long term.

Incorrect.

You may try Baltic States. Roughly 0.001% of population is non-white, and they hate Russians with passion. At least those 60% who are not Russians themselves. Food is cheap and natural. If you can handle wet and cold winters - the place would be optimal.

I think OP should really do more research on requirements to retire in other countries. If he/she wants to provide more information it might be better for /trv/ to answer specific questions.

That is, if the OP is even still reading this thread.

Chile, probably the cleanest South American country with decent health care. Its not the cheapest though. Still a lot of scammers too but you can get around that.
