hey /trv/

I'm going to NYC next week and I was wondering if anyone knew any good and cheap places to eat in Manhattan?

Off topic, but I love how this monster looks more awesome than the actual Cloverfield thing.

what kinds of food do you like. you can find almost anything ethnic food in nyc. despite what you may believe, most of the food there is reasonably priced (for nyc). just avoid restaurants in the really touristy areas like times square.

Can't say I've been to all of them but the "Papaya" franchise of Hot-Dog vendors is pretty cheap. They tend to also have other items (fries, sandwiches of some fashion) depending upon them. Although, just avoid Papaya King on 14th and Broadway - that one's awful.

I don't think the Papaya places are franchises, they just stole the name because it was famous.

anyway, www.mamounsfalafel.com

$2 falafels
$4 schwarmas
they're open late

cheap places are pretty easy to find. pick up a Village Voice and look in their food section. they usually feature good out of the way food places. their website also has a list of the 100 best cheap eats in NYC.
