Sup /trv/, Germanfag here.

I'm going to New York for the second time on Sunday. The first time I did all the tourist bullshit, like Empire State building, Liberty island, coney island etc.
Now I want some insider tipps. I got 1 week. So what are "must do's" in NYC?

You dont have enough money to do the must do's in NYC.

Just nail some broads who find you accent a turn on.

If you like cheese, you gotta go to Murray's in SoHo. Also, it's kinda touristy but MoMA is the best art museum ever. Go there even if its just to check out starry night and the amazing gift shop.

-go to jackson heights and smell the curry
-go to astoria (greeks and arabs). mombar is an awesome egyptian restaurant.
-walk around the village/l.e.s. and do whatever catches your fancy.
-go to pies 'n thighs (fried chicked/southern food). it's in brooklyn, near the water, in an isolated area. very nice in the summer nights.

Thank you anon.

How about some Nightlife tipps?
Is it true that the average entry fee for nightclubs is 25$?
Is it also true that they don't serve alcohol in clubs with a dancefloor?

No.

But, you can't dance in bars because most bars don't have a cabaret license (yeah it's stupid). Some bars are very strict about this and will have bouncers force you to stop. Other, out of the way, bars don't really care.

>Nightlife
Depends on what you're in to.
Mega-clubs are in the Meatpacking District and West Chelsea mostly. I'm not too familiar with them since they're usually filled with guidos (italian niggers).
I paid $20 to get into a much smaller, shittier club for an engagement party so a $25 flat entrance fee seems about right. Be prepared to bribe the bouncers.

Don't know what the trendy bars are now.

myopenbar.com is a great place to start.

I'm not a guido faggot so I'd never walk into a place that charges more than 5 bucks cover, I'm sure the covers get pretty steep late nights on weekends in exclusive places, but there are plenty of bars around the LES that don't charge anything.

No thats not true, I think you got it backwards, you can't dance in bars without a dance floor. It was a law put in place so drunk bitches won't bump into you and make you spill your beer.

Thank you.
I always thought that this dancefloor thing was a lie, because everybody told me about the awesome nightlife in NYC and as a German Nightlife without dancing and alcohol is not possible.

OP Here again.
About the nightlife, the last time I was in NYC a guy in Brooklyn told me to stay away from the east village and everything south of Washington Square Park at night, but a little research told me that in the Lower Eastside a lot of bars and clubs are located.
Should I do what he told me or is it total bullshit?
Also I got 5 girls with me so keep this in mind.
Where can I walk along without a problem and which areas should I stay away at night?

I don't need to visit NYC anymore. I'm playing GTA IV

Bullshit. It's one of the best parts of the whole city. Definitely go.

If you're in a big group like that, even with mostly girls, you're not gonna get fucked with.

Don't get separated though. It's become safer lately as it's gotten to be a trendy place to live in, but if Rockstar got any inspiration from NYC regarding the "spirit" of Liberty City, the Lower East Side is where it came from. Try to stay on your toes.

Never visited the city, don't want as it looks like a hellhole, but I've always loved the Seagram Building So visit that for me

Yeah definitely stay out of the East Village, Washington Square Park, and other dangerous areas. Also don't ride the subway alone (pic related: I was riding the AA train on the IND line last week and I almost got stabbed!).

My advice: stock up on your subway tokens before you go (don't want to be fumbling with cash in front of a token booth). If you're in trouble, just run. Half the pay phones in the city are broken and you'll probably bleed to death before the operator can say "number please". The Big Apple is a dangerous place, no thanks to Mayor Dinkins.

WTF NYC has tokens?
It was a joke, nigger Dinkens was mayor 20 years ago, AA train doesn't exist anymore, nobody says IND or IRT anymore, and noone cares about pay phones since we have cell phones now, and we haven't been able to use tokens for ten years. He's saying that the dangerous New York thing doesn't apply anymore and comes from movies from the 70's
Buy a day-pass on the train for $10 (don’t buy cloned Metrocards).

New York is the most expensive city in the country (but doesn’t make the top 10 world list). The only places accepting euros are the places that just change the “$” to “€” on their price tags.

He's full of shit. Everything in Manhattan is safe except where the streets are numbered above 100 (and that area is getting much better). Stay out of the Bronx and Queens, there's nothing to see there anyway. In Brooklyn stay away from the A line, and the number trains lines, anything East of Prospect Park and Coney Island at night.

New York has one of the lowest crime rates in the world, there's just a lot of murders because of dumb teenaged black gang members with nothing to live for.

>>28266anything East of Prospect Park and Coney Island at night.

Correct. It's not smart to go swimming in the Atlantic Ocean at night. The water isn't very clean. Although I think some clarification is in order about Coney Island. While it's true that the Russians in that neighborhood may refer (in Russian) to people from southern Russia as "black" for weird historical reasons, and there is a lot of Russian organized crime in that part of Brooklyn, I think you probably should have been clearer about which ethnicity you were referring to. Most English-speakers think "black" means African-American.

I meant African-Americans, the projects down there are terrible

Why would most people fear Russian gangsters, they won't stab you for fun
