How do you guys keep yourselves occupied and entertained on long plane journeys? I'm going to be in the air for about 16 hours tomorrow, and don't cope very well with planes. What should I bring so I don't get too bored?

Well, all of the planes I've been on have had TVs and movies running all through the flight so there's always something to watch. But if you like to read, take a book or a laptop to do something.

A neck pillow. And on a flight that long you just don't notice it after a while. As long as you realize that you're stuck on there and for a while, it won't be that bad.

ive got a 14 hur flight to australia in a few months, got my psp with a few games, ipod with hours and hurs of music, and a few books.

And as the other anon said, most airlines have in-seat moniters with films and music.

Get a window seat so you're not gonna be disturbed, and take a few Nytol. The flight will be over before you know it, and you'll arrive nice and refreshed

Shout there's a bomb on the plane.

An alternative is benodryl allergy tablets. Pop one or two of those and you'll sleep like a rock. Depending on what country you're flying to, I suggest picking up one or two of the little packets they have at the duty free shops around the airport.

I'm not sure if you'll be able to find them overseas, which is why I suggested two packets

I hate these fucking posts. Try sitting in a tiger cage for 8 years. It's a matter of hours and will end soon enough. Also, bring some books.

DS/PSP/etc, laptop, books, sudoku, and sleep aids.

I travel a lot for business. I always have a laptop for dvds, a book, and a psp in my carryon.

I pop 2 gravol, sleep until i can't anymore, then do what i want when i wake up.

Those neck pillows are lifesavers. I'd also take a water on board just to keep hydrated. One of the biggest causes of discomfort and jet lag from flights is being so dehydrated when you land. Jets sap the water right out of you.

TV or movies or something. Stock up on snacks and deliciousness. I'm a music junkie so I just take the opportunity to blast through some music, analysing it etc.
Also books, and if you have a gameboy or something, treat yourself to a new game at the airport.

Have you sat in a tiger cage for 8 years?

I fap to porn on my PSP. Make sure you get an aisle seat if you plan on doing this.

Do not do this if you are going to Japan, unless you plan to consume all of them before you land. Benadryl and Sudafed are highly controlled substances, and they won't be happy if they find them.

am i the only one that fucking loves really long plane journeys?

books, alcohol, drugs, talking to other passengers, laptop with whatever, sleep. It has always worked for me.

nope, i do. the reason you usually go overseas is to unwind from work or school. so being able to just sit there and not think or stress about any of that is what does it for me.

Eh, I've got mixed feelings. My first long one was on the way to Japan. Some old guy sat next to me and his head was leaking some strange substance. It looked like tree sap.

Needless to say it was disgusting. That and he kind of smelled. And I was stuck by the window (which, if you ask me, is a bad seat).

I think the aisle is best because you can get up and walk around at your leisure and not have to deal with stepping over people.

Oh also, I'd recommend taking full advantage of the overhead storage. I kept my carryon at my feet for the 12-13 hour flight. When I picked it up after we landed I noticed that I had a lot of leg room. A lot of leg room that I never actually used.

On the delta 777 flight I took from atlanta to tokyo they had tv in front of the seats and you could pick a pick out and play some games to pass the time.

But I say bring a laptop and 2-3 extra batteries and hope that your plane has internet connection. The lufthansa flight I took from Newark to Frankfurt did but I didnt have a laptop so I couldnt test it out.
