i worked in the hotel industry for many moons. fuckups do happen, but if you have a confirmation page printed it will be to your advantage. Your confirmed reservation is a contract with the hotel, so they have to honor it. $29/per night is a lot less patently unreasonable for a room rate than something like $.29/night would be.
Now, this isn't to say some dickhead at the hotel won't try to fuck you over. If this happens, threaten lawsuits, calling corporate if it's a chain, etc. They will fold, especially if you get loud and let other guests know what is going on.
Most likely, though, mistake or not, the clerk will just check you in at your quoted rate. The clerk doesn't give a fuck what you're paying, regardless.
