Hey /trv/,

Planning to move to the states from Australia. How scared do I have to be of this economic catastrophe shit I keep hearing about?

Pic unrelated.

In before "you're an idiot".

This is the absolute worst time to move to the States. Even us locals are having a hard time finding work.

What if I have a job lined up?

You're fine, we have an economic catastrophe every year now, it just means a few investment bankers get laid off here and there and the media runs with it.

On the plus side housing is getting cheaper everywhere but New York City.

And when America sneezes the whole world catches cold, you might as well be here. During the depression we just had naked children picking grapes for a few years while Europe got war and fascism, your probably better off here just in case your country joins Germany again.

is a lazy idiot if he cant find a job. our unemployment is lower than pretty much anywhere else on earth.
our economic catastrophe hasnt even resulted in a recession, so dont believe everything you hear. i for one have continued to get fucking rich through the whole thing.

If you pick the right industry your rich, if your service industry, you're fucked. However you'll get far with a charming accent.

This is how the average American thinks.

Really, ask yourself if you want to be associated with these retards...

not worth the trouble, and avoid the fucking southwest like the plague, nothing good has ever come from here, (im from the worst part, Texas!) although they love aussies in Texas, except the mexicans, cuz they hate everyone-which is the number 1 reason to avoid the southwest or what i call manana land

We won't know for a year or so.

If you still have your job or leech off you parents don't worry about it.

What its true, the 1929 crash was an American thing, sure living in America sucked for a decade, but the loss of American investments in Germany led to the Nazis and all that good stuff.

I was trolling with the Austria thing, but you're the only one who fell for it

There are some states that are actually in a recession and have been for a while. lolmichigan

If you have a job lined up, go for it. Cost of living here is considerably cheaper than other developed countries.

Where your job is will also determine you cost of living. New York, California, and Michigan are expensive and heavy on taxes. States in the south are generally cheaper to live in and carry a lesser tax burden.

The economy isn't doing good, but that is only for idiots who drive SUVs and live off of their credit cards. If you aren't an idiot, you'll be fine.

Unless you are trying to get a mortgage you will be fine. We haven't even had a quarter of negative growth yet.
