So you know when they say the ocean is "warm", are they just taking the piss?

Is there anywhere where the ocean genuinely feels warm?

Every ocean I've ever been in or near is cold

a warm ocean feels kinda gross imo. Plus if you are in a place where it it hot enough to be deemed warm you probz want to have a cold ocean seeing as it is constantly 100 plus

depends a lot on the weather and currents. often a warm surface is very cool underneath

Warm ocean is shit. You don't feel good in it.

I was only once in my life in a warm ocean, that was in St. Martin in the carribeans. There was a very shallow lagoon where the water could really get warmed by the sun. The wather probably was over 29°C. It was awful, i had the impression of taking a bath in someone elses wather...

Due to water's high specific heat capacity, the ocean takes a long time to heat up and cool down. Generally speaking, it's best to visit the beach once the weather has started to cool down. The air is cooler and the water is still warm. This is usually in the off-season anyway, so it's generally cheaper to get a room in a hotel near the beach. Depending on where you go, of course. The ocean is almost always going to be cold from the beginning to mid summer.

I presently live in Brazil and I hate warm ocean temps. You don't cool off at all. Hot as balls on the beach then you jump in warm water. It's no good I tell you.
