What is the point of meeting people when you want to be alone?

I think he means to travel without friends and not completely alone like a monk.

To OP:
I did it 2 years ago. I travelled from Argentina to Chile.
It's by far the best way to learn a language. I learned more spanish in 2 Month, than in 2 years of school.

I like traveling alone sometimes. I can stop for food or sleep whenever I want, stop at any roadside attraction I see, and generally just do whatever I want. I can meet new people, have new experiences and adventures without having to worry about what other people want to do.

Yes that's what I mean. I have friends and I like meeting people, but if I was to travel it would be on my own. So what I was wondering is do people find it enjoyable travelling on their own.

I think it would be great because you get to do whatever you feel like and you dont need any solid plans, just go with the flow.

On the other hand it could get boring if you are not good at meeting people. thanks

Traveling alone is pretty much the only way to go because almost nobody I know has either the money, the available time, or the desire to go wherever the fuck I'm going. Meet other people wherever you happen to go.

I am still underage b& and therefore cannot travel yet, but when I do, fuck if I take anyone with me. Alone, always. That is the only correct way to see the planet.

How exactly would you meet people in a foreign country? And without coming off as a creepy fuck like you probably do in your country...
>> Anonymous
There are cultural exchange programs, 'international' parties, other English-speaking tourists hanging out at the same popular trap you went to, all depending on where you go and where you're coming from, of course. This isn't rocket science.

>>And without coming off as a creepy fuck like you probably do in your country...
This depends on what constitutes creepy in whichever culture you're going to be in. I know this is 4chan and every anonym is supposed to be disgusting basement-dwelling recluse pedophiles but talking to strangers is not a crime. Just don't be this guy

Where can one find people to travel with before the actual trip? I don't mean the usual cock-hungry sluts and my-daddy-is-a-diplomat fags from couchsurfing.org, just regular basement-dwelling joes who want to go somewhere. Traveling alone is shitty.

"regular basement dwelling"

...i haven't got a clue as to what is 'regular' nowadays, or so it seems : /
still I think couchsurfing.com is your best option really. i've been surfing with that program for two years now and i still haven't met any my-daddy-is-a-diplomat fags up to now.
and I wouldn't know what's wrong with cock-hungry sluts?

Eurofag here, tried to meet a few people from there a while ago and it was a fucking disaster. I'm generalizing here, but it was mostly guys with way too much money and girls who fuck them to finance their travels. Didn't have a lot in common with either.
