A favor? Anonymous
Sup /trv/, I've got a bit of an odd request. Let me preface this by saying that there is no way in hell I'll go ask /jp/ since they generally aren't as helpful as /trv/lers are.

I'd like to figure out how to buy another one of these Mickey Mouse bracelets which I originally got in a mall in Osaka (sorry, don't really remember the details). I've been doing the usual googles, but no dice. This is kinda sentimental so I'd appreciate any help in locating this damn bracelet. Heck, I know some anons are in Japan right now so if you happen to see one randomly, please post some info. Or if you can spare a few seconds for a quick look around the internets it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

bumping for long shot.
I'll give a few more details I guess. The bracelet it self is made out some sorta braided string(nylon?), the beads woven in are the standard 1 hole bead and the mickey mouse head is one of those 4 hole buttons woven in with an X looking stitch.

OP here, thanks anon. I pretty much accepted the fact that I'll probably never be able to find one again, so this is my last ditch effort.
Anyways, I'll give you the back story, because I bet most people won't understand why I'm trying to find some cheapo bracelet.

I did a brief homestay in Japan and stayed with a girl and her amazingly nice family. The last night before leaving the girl and I went out to a mall and browsed around for awhile. She told me she wanted us to get matching items as a memento for the experience (there was some mutual attraction I guess you could say between us). She picked out these two Mickey Mouse bracelets, one black for me and a matching pink one for herself. She nearly lost it that night when it fell off outside her house but luckily she and her mother were able to find it. Of course I laughed at her.
So we're saying some hard goodbyes the next morning and between the time I gave her a last hug and stepped into the taxi, I lost the damn fucking bracelet. Yea, I'm a fucking dumbass.
Flash forward a few months later after I'm back home, I see some pictures she put up on her Facebook and lo and behold she's still wearing the pink bracelet. Now I feel really bad about losing my matching bracelet :( .
I should mention that she may be doing a homestay with me early next year.
I know this all sounds sappy and what not, but any ideas/info would be greatly appreciated before I just give up altogether.

maybe try posting on etsy, if anyone can find it for you, they might be your best shot

ok, this women makes bracelets and sells them on eBay, the mickey mouse looks very similar to yours. Maybe contact her, tell her your story and ask her if she'll decontruct that bracelet and make one that looks like yours? Or just show her the picture and ask if she can make it.

OP here. Thanks for the advice although it all seems pointless now. I said that my host might be coming early next year (April) but I literally just found out from my teacher that they've pushed it back to Fall 2009. This means I would have graduated high school and wouldn't be allowed to host my Japanese student, who is actually a year younger then me. The bracelet is such a smaller issue then this major disappointment now :/.

Hopefully my friends and I can convince our teacher to re-coordinate the plans with our sister school in Japan so we can see our Japanese friends before we graduate. Man, this is just fucking bad luck after fucking bad luck and I'm really pissed off. I've just had the rug pulled out from under me and now there's a chance I may never see my host again.
