Hello, /trv/,
I've been thinking about attending college in Japan recently, but Google hasn't given me much information. What do you know?
Thanks in advance

I go to ATU and they do an exchange program with Komazawa in Tokyo.

I think lots of US colleges do that.

I've been thinking of going to university in Japan. Maybe the biggest point is the competition, I hear they publish all test results publicly from best to worst (not sure though, need to do more research on that one). I love competition, but I live in Finland and Finland doesn't love competition, because apparently it'll destroy our innocent youthness or some shit (no idea really, dunno why they insist on non-public test scores).

Hope you're prepared for the entrance exams then.

/jp/ is nothing but /a/'s asshole. Serious threads about TRAVEL to Japan belong here

anyway look at Temple Japan OP

I'm going to hijack one of the many Japan-related threads on /trv/ instead of starting yet another to ask this question:

Has anybody been to a swank-ass splurge hotel in Japan at all? What exactly do you get at a 3.5star and up hotel? I'm considering one night just for the experience.

I have, I stayed at the Westin (when my father came out to visit). It's a nice hotel like a nice hotel in any other country. The staff speaks English a lot better than at cheaper. What exactly did you fucking expect? A blowjob?

Knowing Japan, yes.

Anyone have experience with the nightlife in Japan? Where are good places/districts to go to in Tokyo/Kyoto? I particularly like going to small local pubs if anyone has any favorites they could suggest.

is there a hotel which offers blowjobs, rather than me having to find a prostitute to bring in?

probably

dude, if you want to do a j-girl that bad just go to gas panic or some such club in roppongi. any girl in roppongi is there for the sole purpose of scorning a foreigner so if you fail more than a few times you're worthless. of course most the girls in roppongi are huge skanks but compared to a prostitute...

scorning -> scoring
fuck.

judging by your comment about test results, i infer that you mean actually go to uni there, not just study abroad

#1 - they post the entrance exam scores publicly (although many unis are starting to do it online, though Todai is hesitant because of the tradition of showing up to look for your name on their wall)

#2 - temple university japan and a few others are your only hope if you don't speak japanese already

also, enjoy not learning japanese since 8-10 hours a day you'll be speaking englihs in class or studying english textbooks, and 2 hours a day you'll be sitting on a train commuting, and japanese people won't wanna talk to you--in fact, they'll choose to stand their entire commute rather than sit next to a scary white person (which, if you're a finn, you are)

go to a good college
UC LA, UC Berkeley, Harvard, Stanford, Etc.
take 4 years of Japanese, and 4 years of Asian History (1 class every fucking semester)
graduate as an Asian History major.
apply for grad school in Japan.
of course this is very very difficult.
