Hay guiez.

I plan on moving to Scotland to study, either in Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
By and large, is Scotland a good place to live?
What about the food prices and rent for one room apartments?

Also, how does Scotland feel towards Russian people?
Should I be ready to be treated like a dog if I go there?

Everybody loves russians in the UK. Scotalnd is a better place to live than England, just be prepared to be lectured daily on how great scotland is

Britfag here, I can't speak for Scotfags but I've never met anyone that particularly has any problems with Russians. I think we all hate the middle eastern people so much that any possible racism towards anyone else is completely overshadowed.

short answer: yes

Don't go to Dundee or Glasgow.

Scotfag here.

In general, nobody cares where the fuck you're from. So long as you aren't some fool who walks around with his ear in his mobile yapping like a stupid cunt we're cool with you.

Most people hate on a case-by-case here.

Scotfags only hate you if you're from England generally.

Also, choose either Edinburgh or Aberdeen. I study in Aberdeen and my sister studies in Edinburgh and we both like it, apart from the abundance of neds/chavs.

Neds?

Also, can you tell me how much you earn and how much your rent is?

Neds = scum, basically.

I doubt anyone here will be remotely bothered by a Russian (though we'll probably mistake you for someone Polish if you live in Aberdeen, since the city seems to be 75% Polish at the moment). The only nationality that the Scots hate automatically are the English.

Aberdeen is a nice enough city, but gets kinda boring after a while because of its small size.

DO NOT GO TO GLASGOW.

Seriously, if your choice was between Edinburgh and Glasgow, go with Edinburgh without hesitation.

Neds are basically burbery wearing minks who hang about pretty much every town centre in Scotland. It's the reason you were told not to go to Dundee and Glasgow.

My parents house is very close to the University so I just give them a bit of money every now and then so not sure about the price of renting sorry.

Got a shitty job at a supermarket and get around £5.50 an hour. Been looking around for a better job recently though.

I study in glasgow, and it is great, edinburgh is quite stuck up with lots of yupees and tourists and very expensive. Dundee has cheap rent prob just over £200 a month but its a small city so quite boring after a while and the locals are not the warmest. Rent in Glasgow is £250 to £300 max a month and there is lots to do. pay for most part-time work is around £5.50 an hour

When Glaswegians talk there should be subtitles.

Scotfag here.
Studying in Dundee infact. Rent - Ranges from £180 to £260 and you get what you pay for tbh.
Not had any hassle from the locals, though I am yet to lay any trust in their barbours.
Nights are what you make of them.

Aberdeen - Rent is a wee bit higher. Larger and therefore more pubs and clubs. Not spent any extended time there so cant say much about the locals.

Glasgow - spent many a weekend there, too busy for me but then I am from the highlands :/ Glasgow Uni is apparently the secks for Engineering.

Edinburgh is good.

And you'll only ever get trouble off of the neds. Dundee has a high percentage, but nothing lose to Glasgow.

tl;dr Aberdeen or Edinburgh

Latvian-fag here. (For most brits, Latvia=Russia). Attitude in England is ok, do not know about Scotland, but I'd expect the same.

Dont go to Dundee, been there for a while (visiting a friend), it blows.

People will probably think you're Polish, and no one here likes them.
