I've been wanting to go to the Pacific NW for a long time now. I'm going to say fuck it and go there any way possible before I have to go back to school (3rd year of college). I will be staying with an old friend who has an extra car he's willing to let me use, which saves big money, big money, big money, no whammy, no whammy, no whammy, STOP! (lol)
Two questions: 1. Does anybody know of what the cheapest way to get to Seattle would be (from Chicago)? The best I can find for airfare is about $300 from NW Airlines. Driving would be $700 round-trip and Amtrak is also outrageous at $600+. Does anybody here know or have any experience with cheaper travel?
2. What could I do? I know of food, festivals, State Parks, and the one thing I really want to see is the Japanese Gardens, but what else?
