What does /trv/ think of Miami? Thinking of moving there.

Best dope in the world, and it's free.

Put on your shortie shorts and your Hawaiian shirt and come down!

Miamifag here.. Born and raised here. And a gringo. Here is what you need to know. don't bother. It is a hellhole unless you earn $100,000 a year. It has a 3rd world mentality, too much traffic, and Haitians.. The beach is ok, but is invaded on the weekends by Hialeah and Kendal riffraff.. The club scene was decent years ago, now too much X and spics and wannabe eurotrash. I stay because I am in a family business. The weather is nice but fucking hot, and the fear of Hurricanes (real or imagined) puts the city in full on crazy mode. Stay out

How about Orlando?

Cocaine. Gay Dudes. Cubans. Beaches.

I used to date a girl from Kendall, and don't miss the city (or her, lol) very much at all.

I never went to South Beach, mostly because clubbing/paying for overpriced booze don't really appeal to me.

The following list is a list of things I miss about the city:
-Downtown districts with cool stores/privately owned shops.
-Cuban bakeries for breakfast
-Good produce in the grocery stores (compared to home)
-Decent public transportation

Things I DON'T miss:
-Pretentious artfags
-FUCK AWFUL TRAFFIC
-Snobby rich assholes
-Everyone expecting me to speak Spanish.
-The intolerable heat/hurricanes

Factor these into your decision.

Just in case>>62359is also the OP, I also used to live in Orlando for two years when I was going to school there.

Orlando is actually a lot of fun. I had no problems making enough money to pay my bills and still have plenty of fun with my friends, and pretty much every part of the area is well-connected to the other parts. The tourists aren't so bad as you might expect, as long as you don't go to International Drive or Citywalk or anything on a regular basis. Still fun to go and hang out at those places from time to time, though.

Between Miami and Orlando, I suggest Orlando.

I live in Miami. Most of this shithole is either Cuba Jr. or Haiti Jr., not until moving here did I realize that I was a little bit racist.

As anon said, unless you're filthy rich, enjoy hanging out with the racist Cubans. Orlando or West Palm is much, much better.

West Palm has a nicer airport and nicer facilities. It is also halfway between Orlando and Miami, if shopping is your reasoning.

Miami's population of people of Cuban and Haitian lineage has recently exponentially increased, and the city's middle class is slowly disintegrating, leaving a void between the bottom of the bottom and the richest of the rich.

If you'd like to spend 4 million dollars for a home in safe neighbourhood, go ahead, but enjoy your neighbours being dicks.

it fucking sucks. weather sucks, cubans fucking suck. worse hispanics, they are all assholes. as already mentioned, if you're not rich then it's no very different from being in a 3rd world country

I'd be curious to know why you're thinking about moving to Miami. I'd say that the best thing about moving to Miami is that it will make you more quickly start planning how to move the hell away from it. In addition to all else that has been said, let's add on piss-poor government, widespread corruption, terrible media, and abysmal schools (which affect you whether or not you have children). And, similar to what>>62707said -- if you're not bigoted, you WILL be after experiencing all of the different races who will be bigoted against YOU...and it won't be in a "ha ha" or trolling way like on /b/.

Shitsux. On one hand, the beaches are nice early in the morning, and Florida has some awesome plantlife. On the other hand, thunderstorms every other day in the summer, no one knows how to drive, if you're a girl expect to get hit on by dirty Cubans (got molested at a high school once; shit was not cool) and lol Republicans.

Fuck the south.

I don't know, I'm young and ready for adventure. I used to live in Hollywood, Florida, so I'm used to cubans.
I take it the job markets suck?

Well, good thing I'm a good ol' southern boy from Tenn-uh-see.
