Sup, I want to go to the southern/Oslo part of Noway, will English be enough to get buy, and how much would I expect to pay for a week long stay?

almost everyone in europe speaks english. But I have no idea for your other question.

Most Scandinavians speak English because they got no culture of their own. Fuck, they are not even important enough to get native dubs for Hollywood movies.

Most people in Norway speak passable english, the accent can be a bit heavy at times but you should manage. Hotel prices are high (and so is almost everything), and can easily fall in the range of 1000-1500Nok a night, that being said as a local I'm not really up to date with current hotel prices.

But to be honest with you, there are better cities in Norway. Bergen is worth a visit, and so is Trondheim. Tromsø is an experience if you travel during the summer due to the midnight sun.

>Midnight sun

Possible change of plans. Especially since Oslo is the fourth most expensive city in the world.

Coming from England (not London), I always find it funny how high up on the list Hong Kong is. Sure, you *can* spend loads on everything if you want, but everything I saw in supermarkets was incredibly cheap. Example: You pay around $5HK for a 500 ml bottle of Pepsi. That's about 35 pence. Good luck finding a store that will go as low as £1 here, let alone 3 times less than that.

Decent hotels in the Oslo area are at about kr 500,- per night (~$100) from what I remember.

If you really want to go shopping in HK go just before a new season. When the stores there do clearance sales they really do mean clearance -- and not just side stores either, serious designer stores.

It's not the value of a bottle of coke that counts. It's the value of the costs of a certain middle class living standard. Rent, electricity etc.
