Would you like your room serviced today? Anonymous
Hey /trv/estites.

Feel free to ask a hotel housekeeper anything.

What prevents you guys from stealing? I've left my computer and money in the room before and it's never been taken.

Also do you guys ever pick up the towels left on the floor, fold them, and simply place them back on the rack without first washing them?

Pure common sense. Stealing = a very very stupid idea.

Generally, if the guest is staying a few days, towels that are left on the floor are taken away and replaced with clean ones. Towels hanging up are left there.
If the guest has left, all dirty/used towels are replaced with clean ones.

How come you know English?

What do you do if its a mess and you can't clean it up in time?

Que?

The guest simply has to wait for the room, whether they like it or not. If there's a similar room avaliable, reception will just move them to that one instead.

I have had some housekeepers who are very insistent that I turn in the comment card listing their name to the front desk regarding the "exceptional service" to my room.

What kind of reward/bonus do you get from that?
>> Anonymous
How much in tips do you expect, and what do you do when people dont tip?
>> Anonymous
There's nothing I want to ask, I just want to say thanks for cleaning my room, and I'm sorry if I leave it in a mess sometimes

Oooh, I hate it when people pressure you into doing that. Sorry if it makes you uncomfortable.
Generally, when a guest leaves a comment, it's usually "the lovely blonde girl at the front desk who checked us in" or "the waiter at our dinner table.", not "the maid that scrubbed the shit and piss off our toilet while we were out."
In some hotels, a $5-$10 bonus is given for each nice comment. In my hotel, these are added up, and at the end of the month, $100 goes to the best employee, and the best for the year gets $1000 and a bunch of other privilages.
Housekeepers rarely get this. It's always front office or restaurant.

I don't expect tips, but it's really nice and encouraging when people do tip. However tipping in currencies other than the one in the place you're staying at is extremely annoying. (I don't mind notes, however. It makes good origami paper.)
I'm a bit of a freegan, so if you leave candies behind, thank you very much <3 The sugar/energy boost makes the day go quicker.

>>52655
It's fine. It's our job, after all! <3 Thank you for staying.

:D Thanks for cleaning my room!

What was your worst experience with cleaning a room?
>> Anonymous
I thank you for cleaning up my used condoms.

Also I had on hotel housekeeper who serviced more than just my room, guessing this aint common practice outside of third world countries
>> Anonymous
>>52683

Worst experience was when I was servicing a hotel apartment. A 3-storey, 6 bedroom kinda deal. The guests that were supposed to depart that day had absolutely no concept of set checkout times, or any regard for the people that had been waiting for the apartment to be cleaned. It was 3pm by the time they left. The time we were supposed to be finished by that day. We even had to clean around them.

No problem! Glad you had fun ;3 Just keep them tied up and wrapped up inside a tissue and you won't hear any grumbling from me.

Any bodily functions where none should be? Projective vomit? Random blood stains?
>> Anonymous
>>53214

All the time, vomit being the worst offender for ending up in weird places.

my nose once bled while I was sleeping at a hotel it was a big stain under the pillow area. I left the place quick. It was a motel 6 I think. What would you think and how did I affect the bed if I did?
>> Anonymous
>>53336

A nose bleed would probably only bleed down to soak into the matress protector, not the matress.
If that happened, it's an easy wash/replace of the matress protector.

If it soaked heavily into the matress, I'd be more concerned about your health than a cheap hotel matress.

Why is it that housekeepers never get the urge to have sex with me when they enter the room and see me naked on the bed, like in porno movies?
