>The World's Worst Tourist Traps
>Times Square: New York’s neon-lit, iconic intersection is certainly a symbol of the city, but gone are the days of glitz, glamour and grime. Its new face is one of corporate megastores and digitally animated advertisements.

Is this a joke?

Seems perfectly true to me.

So is it still seedy? Or did Bloomberg fuck up Giuliani's hard assed law enforcement policies?

Anti-capitalist bigotry detected. Ignore message.

It used to be crossroads of the world.

Then it fell out of fashion and became the porn, smut, peep show, hooker fest of the 70s and 80s. The 90s brought corporate money into revamping Times Square, and now it's like a Disney version of New York. Perfectly safe (aside from the con men and pick pockets that prey on stupid tourists) porn and hooker free. Relatively clean. Nearly EVERYTHING is a corporate chain superstore there. It's not anti-capitalist bigotry, it's simply the truth. I wouldn't know how else to describe it.

The business of America is business. There's nothing more patriotic than burying shit you don't need and watching tv ads.

Than what do you assholes want, honestly? Do you expect these companies to shut down all of these signs and adverts just because they offend you? If they piss you off, stay away from Times Square and ignore them.

I've thought about making a trip for Times Square before, but it's basically Las Vegas flash without the actual DOING SOMETHING indoors once you've seen the facade.

I'd give the premium extra-high observation level of the CN Tower my vote as the worst tourist trap I've seen. Shockingly, there is little visual difference between 1150ft and 1500ft approximates when there's no structure even relatively close in height around you to compare by. The ocean and the little SoHo districts a few blocks away look relatively as tiny as they did before I spent more money to go higher up.
