Just ask if you have to pick up your baggage at the stopover point when you check in. Sometimes you do, sometimes you don't. Depending on how long you have to spend at each airport, make sure you have a book, iPod (plus portable charger if the flight's a long 'un). Also, check in as early as possible, so you can book either an exit row seat or an aisle seat. It does make a difference on long haul flights.
