I was arrested a few years ago. Since then, I've done relief work in Africa and Asia, hiked in New Zealand, got piss fucking drunk in the UK, attended mass in Vatican City and many other things all over the world. Yet, I'm not allowed to drive ten miles north and go to Canada? Seriously, what the fuck?

Getting drunk off shitty american beer takes effort, so drinking and driving would show your a fucking drunk.

Anyone using a drug, eg alcohol, for recreation is an addict, in the case of alcohol an alcoholic, therefore since you have intimate knowledge of beer you are just as much an alcoholic as him. There are no degrees of addiction. That is just bullshit addicts make up so they can seem like they're still in control but they are only fooling themselves.

OP here. I was arrested for having a switchblade (which I bought from a knife store in California, where I guess they are illegal) and I wasn't arrested per se, but ticketed and I had a misdemeanor on my record. Had, as in it was dismissed when I completed probation, but apparently them moose riding cops up at the border can still see it :\

More stupid laws thanks to the advent of the career poltician who is paid to sit on his/her ass and screw over the public over nothing.

Someone is full of shit. A misdemeanor will not prevent travel to Canada unless you have a shit load of them showing a pattern of crime, or relates to violence. It takes a felony to fuck you up, and you have to be convicted of it to matter. That being said, there is no such thing as misdemeanors or felonys here in Canada, its all yanky slang.

So bascily the OP was convicted of a felony or a series of misdemeanors, and is lying through his teeth.

That being said, there are ways to get into the country. You just need to apply for them and pay. So unless your lazy or a poorfag you can still get in... unless you fuck kids or have really bad record.

Ive got pissed in the UK (cos i live there) ,ive swam in the Zambezi , ive slept with a maid in mauritious , ive been in a pyramid , got in barfights in athens and thrown bricks at neo fascists in germany but when i go to the US i get questions like "have ever been a member of a terrorist organisation" , "were you an active aggressor in the Holocaust" or "do you intend to enter the US to commit unlawfull activity". and then , the greates of INdignities ,Because you bloody americans are analy retentive towards your youth I CANT EVEN GET A F**KING BEER!!!!

Canada isn't that special. Your just missing out on:

-Montreal
-BC Weed (Supposedly?)
-Whistler
-Some nice parks & nature

Nothing that special compared to the rest of the world.

>"have ever been a member of a terrorist organisation"
> "were you an active aggressor in the Holocaust"
>"do you intend to enter the US to commit unlawfull activity"

Are you fucking kidding me? How stupid are these people? Do they actually think anyone is going to say "yes, actually I am here to overthrow the united states government" to these questions? Fucking Americans, god damn.
>> Anonymous
>>23945
also, it says something like "answering yes to these questions doesn't mean that you will be refused entry, but you might be requested for in the embassy for further information"
>> Anonymous
>>23945
Without voice stress analytical technology those questions alone are pretty useless. I think it is all just a formality so they can automatically deport you if it is ever found out that you are what they were questioning you about. I wonder what year they are going to phase out the Holocaust question.

http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_1082.html
Anyone with a criminal record (including even misdemeanors or Driving While Impaired (DWI)) charges may be barred from entering Canada and must qualify for a special waiver well in advance of any planned travel for further processing, which may take some time.
