I'm going to the Grand Canyon / Sedona for a weekend in March (first time). Any thoughts, suggestions, or general information to make my trip better would be GREATLY appreciated!

helicopter tours are absolutely amazing, but usually overly priced. If you're not used to hiking, especially hiking in the desert, be sure to bring tons of water and saltine crackers (way more than you think you're going to need). Arizona is already pretty hot in March, even that far north.

This. The heli tours are usually a rip, and you will need LOTS of water. It will get surprisingly hot very fast.

If you go to the park at 4-6 am, there's usually no one manning the front gate where you pay at and you can get in for free. It gets pretty cold at night though, my friends and I learned that the hard way, we had to wait for hours in my car before the shops opened at 7 am so we could buy jackets. Bring your own supplies, everything there is ridiculously expensive (ex: the McDonalds in the town just outside the park is the second most expensive in the entire world). If you want to go down to the bottom of the canyon, just pay for the mule ride because you do NOT want to walk down that damn path for hours constantly stepping over mule shit.

If you hike along the rim, you can get out far on the edge of the canyon and take some pretty bitchin' pictures. Make sure you wear thick soled boots, though, thin-soled shoes will have your feet in horrible pain after a few hours from constantly stepping on rocks. Oh, and if you decide to go to the gift shop, don't buy the beer mug, it's way too thin and breaks easily.

If you take the helicopter tour or small plane tour, you're gonna be sick. If you sit in the back, you're gonna be real, real, real sick.

Enjoy the sensation of stomach acid burning your delicate mucous membranes, canyonfags.
