Georgiafag, here. Born in Cairo, raised in Thomasville, lived in Savannah, and now I'm in Valdosta.

Besides Atlanta, are there any other places worth visiting in Georgia? Since my family is so close to the border, we spent most of our vacation time in Florida...

until I looked at the image, I thought you were talking about the country, damn name stealing american bastards!

Don't get mad at America, get mad at Britannia. We didn't *choose* to be named after King George.

Given the choice, I wouldn't have wanted King George (any of them) to be in power anyway.

I live in Valdosta... Small world.

I went to Helena on a "camping" trip and it was nice. Kinda tourist-e but it was a pretty laidback town. Just make from friends in Stone Creek. They take all the good vacations =/

I'm at VSU. So far, I'm liking it.

My family took a trip to Helen several years ago around Christmas time. It was nice, the alpine village and whatnot. We crossed the border into Tennessee and stopped off at a Shoney's to eat. It wasn't too pleasant because as soon as we walked in, we got a dueling banjos vibe. We ate and left without talking to anyone besides the waitress.

I'd consider going back to Helen when the weather cools down.

Heh I grew up in Valdosta. Not much to do here unless you make your own fun :P Just be glad you aren't in Hahira... get on your knees and thank God you are not in Hahira....

If you haven't before tubing is a great way to kill a day, and possibly check out some ladies.

However you are in southern Georgia. Anything you will find here is going to kill a day or two tops. Get back up to northern Georgia or down to Florida for anything week-worthy.

Btw don't go to Wild Adventures. The price to get in is not worth the rides. Unless they have a good concert that day... then it is.

Don't worry. There's zero chance of me going to Hahira. There's a sign to Hahira off the main street my parents live on. You don't see many people headed that way...

As I'm a lady myself (and not interested in checking out other ladies), I'm probably going to pass on the tubing suggestion. But I do like nature stuff. Not the beach, though. Too hot.

I went to Wild Adventures when it first opened (think first week open...), and all they had were some fair rides, a patch of dirt, and some giraffes. The concerts they have now are a good attraction, but I'm not a fan of country and most of the other people they book. Last person I saw there was Jesse McCartney, and that was only because my cousins were retardedly obsessed with him. But you're right. Wild Adventures isn't normally worth the money you pay to get in, unless you like the music acts.

OP Here.

I've got a friend at GCSU (I stayed with her in her dorm while I was there), and another friend who graduated and now lives in Macon. Ain't shit to do in Milledgeville, and I'm beginning to think you're being sarcastic.

Milledgeville. Indeed!

For all intents and purposes, I am. It's 4chan, after all.

Guess I was wrong... the reach of boredom reaches up north as well...

You are a college girl. I am sure you can find something to fill your time besides spending a crapload on gas. Me and my college aged friends simply shoot stuff, play video games, light stuff on fire, or go see a movie. In fact we are heading out to see 10,000 BC in a few minutes. Sadly no good movies at the dollar theater to piss away even more time :(

ATL guy here. The only other place people visit in Georgia besides ATL is... savannah, but you said you used to live there so... yeah. I've also lived in athens and augusta, and I can't reccomend visiting either.
Least you live in a college town so it's not as bad as the rest of southern GA, but really, your best bet is gonna be Florida.

Fayetteville fag here. Shit sucks.

another atlanta fag here, ya no much to do in south GA at all, i went to school at georgia southern in statesboro for a year, there was literally nothing to do except drive an hour to savannah, hence the party school reputation, but ya, like everyone else said there really isn't much outside of atlanta but that being said atlanta has a LOT of shit to do

I just went to ATL, (I'm the OP of that traffic thread this past weekend) and I just got back at like 8AM today. Never really went anywhere in GA besides the ATL.

Depends on what you want to do. Are you interested in nature shit?

hey I currently reside in savannah, ATL is about the only place to have any fun in this state

Duluth fag here, about 15 miles from atlanta

Atlantafag in exile up in philly here.

If you're into fishing, nature, etc, try Shellman's Bluff north of Savannah. Great food, too. If you're into partying and urban shit, ATL and Decatur are about it, but take solace in the fact that you're not in Philly/Pennsylvania in general. Yeah, its that bad.

Funny that you mention liking "urban stuff" and then express preference for the glorified suburb of Atlanta over the truly urban metropolis of Philadelphia.

ugh, Valdosta... NCfag here, I lived in Valdosta for a sum total of 2 weeks when i was younger before moving the fuck away from that hell-hole.

Lived in GA most of my life (Duluth), I've seen everything there is in this state that there is to see, and its all shit. Atlanta also is not that great, really not much to do in it. It does not help that public transportation has always been a joke as far as I can remember (lol MARTA). Whats even worse is that I now attend college in Alabama which is the same thing with even less in it.
