Hey /trv/ I came back from a Royal Caribbean cruise to Alaska last night (Rhapsody of the Seas) and I was surprised as to how much I enjoyed it. The ship was beautiful. Anyone else go on a Royal Caribbean cruise and enjoy it?

I went on a Carnival cruise once to Catacalina-or-something, Mexico on Ecstasy(The ship. :)). Complete RAGE. They used salt water for the pools, the rooms were too dark if you got the one that cost $1000 less, we probably spent only a few hours in Mexico and that was the best fucking part, the food was terrible(My first time eating lobster, and I have to say, I don't think I ever will again)... The only good things to do during the trip was the Arcade(The best game was broken, and beating House of the Dead 4 gets boring.), they had a PS2 for everyone to play, though usually some kids were hogging it, it had NO GAMES(lol PS3 joke), and NO MEMORY, a bar(Though you can find outsourced employees all across the place offering you drinks), a casino, the pool(Just keep it out of your eyes and mouth, and be ready for fucking freezing water).

Luckily, I made friends with this guy and it was his fifth cruise, so I wasn't lost and I figured out where everything was. Then he borrowed my Gameboy without permission and stopped talking to him.

I'm sure your Royal Caribbean cruise to Alaska(Wait, what?) was much better.

It rained almost every day in Alaska and our floatplane excursion was canceled, but the ship was awesome. The crew, especially the waiters, were friendly, and the food was ridiculously great, in both quantity and quality. It was my sixth cruise and it was my favorite.

Celebrity - Fancy, great food, great accommodations, a little pricey, better for older families or couples, overcrowded by the elderly, very small rooms, crew is very polite and loyal, entertainment was very good

Disney - shitsux, great for families with small kids, food was crap and the portions were smaller than small, private island is really nice though, moderate-sized cabins, crew are stupid and "mushy," entertainment you would expect from Disney but still good

Carnival - great for big families, very family-focused, decent itinerary, on-ship activities are fun and plentiful, moderate-sized cabins, crew is someone insensitive and not very friendly, entertainment was very enjoyable

Royal Caribbean - great for all families of all kinds, guaranteed to feel spoiled and / or pampered, great on-ship activities (limited on the Alaskan itinerary, but plentiful on the Caribbean itinerary), crew are very sensible and enjoyable, great food, beautiful ships, fancier than most but not as "fancy" as Celebrity, crew sometimes goes a bit overboard (no pun intended) to meet your every whim, Port and Shopping guide was a bit of a douche (on the Alaskan cruise I was on, not the other one; he was living up to his name: Chad Lawless), entertainment was a bit lackluster (minus the guest comedians)

It all makes sense. The RC crew are robots that are treating us nicely to earn their trust and right at the last second, BAM! They strike.
