good evening. i just finished high school and im planning to study in Germany. Im doing a little research about this and the possibilities i have according to my current location (right now, im in a central american country).
My question is this: what is the monthly income i need in order to have a decent life in Berlin?
basically, i just need to know what is the best monthly income of im planning to live alone.
Thanks in advance

Depending on where you want to live Berlin can be very cheap. You can find a room for 250€ and get by on 150€ on groceries and stuff.

But that's a pretty bare minimum.

what is the minimum wage in germany? it is possible to study and have a part time job?

There is no minimum wage. You can support yourself by waiting tables or tending bars in the evening if you're over 18. The first 400€/month you earn are tax free IIRC.

Unless you can speak German, you won't be getting a job in tech support. Which country are you from? Try and teach your native language (Spanish I guess) to people who want to learn. (For money, pedro)

If you told us which fucking country you were from, we could tell you if you need a visa. Most likely, yes you will because only EU citizens are able to pass freely into, work, and live in other EU countries.

You will need a visa. Apply for one at your local German embassy. If, however, you are accepted as a student, you will be allowed to work for 3 months each year on that student visa. The hard part will be finding a job with just a high school education, but you will be able to work at McDonald's or something. Good luck.

Berlin? There are way nicer university cities in germany.
Aachen for technology, Munich, Heidelberg.

For any Visa and working related questions refer to the homepage of the Auswärtiges Amt.

Finding work shouldn't be an issue as a student in Berlin. There is always something you can do.

Go to Wittenberg, that's where Martin Luther went.
