Copenhagen is a nice place, although it can be pretty damn expensive. So if you watch out for prices and ask the locals (at least 90% of Danes speak some sort of English), you should be good to go.
Aarhus is also a nice place, if you find yourself with some spare time. That's where I live. I'd still pick Copenhagen for a first trip to Denmark, though, because it's more friendly to foreigners and has more stuff.
