I'm spending two weeks in Walnut Creek (suburb of either San Francisco or Oakland... pretty much inbetween them). I've been to California once. What's there to do? I'm planning on shopping for clothing and other things, along with just sightseeing. Suggestions?

I used to live in Pleasant Hill (very close by). Walnut Creek holds a certain nostalgia for me, so I might be blinded, but it's kind of a neat town to just chill out in. The big mall there is kind of half outdoors so that's kind of neat, but spending two weeks there is a stretch.

If you can manage it, your best bet after a few days would be to head to a more interesting part of the bay area.

Unless you feel like having a life experience, you probably don't want to go to Oakland. Lucky for you, San Francisco is located conveniently across the bridge. I think you can get there from Walnut Creek on the BART rail; just get a day pass. Doing so will increase your options for fun dramatically.

Theres nothing much to do there walnut creek. The only shopping place i know is the broadway plaza which a open air so you're probably walking around in +90 degrees heat. Its super hot there compared to the coastal area where i lived in(oakland)

Walnut Creek? Seriously?

Shopping sucks, entertainment sucks, and the Plearn Thai Palace of Walnut Creek has decent food.

You can try going up to the top of Mt. Diablo. Just hope you don't go when there are a lot of fires or it's cloudy. The view can be lovely on a clear day.
