Alright you ZAfags, I'm looking at visiting your country but I am afraid of the supposed high crime rate. I really don't plan on staying in Johannesburg or Cape Town. So I figure, like all places, the major cities are only the big crime areas, right?

I'm going to be visintg the Botswana border area and staying in the Gauteng province. Is that place a cime infested state just like the rest?

Also, can you guys recommend me a low crime area to visit?

Its not that cities are the biggest crime areas, its the places with the most black people. In America and Europe most black people live in cities, but in Africa black people live equally in cities and in the country, with the country being mostly black.

tldr, nowhere in africa safe, the country might be even more dangerous due to niggers

Cape Town is the safest and wealthiest place in SA. And the most interesting, from what I've seen.

Gauteng seems to have pretty average crime rates, but that is still incredibly high. Though, Jo'burg does appear to be getting better.

Johannesburg is subject to a lot of media hype and negativity (seriously, it's nowhere near as bad as Perth, Australia). It's actually a very pleasant, interesting city. If you plan on doing a lot of driving in SA, make sure to drive with your windows down, as having them up makes you look antisocial/potential terrorist/target. Also make sure you take full advantage of people selling oranges/newspapers etc. at road intersections - this is how most locals buy daily essentials. Some parts of Jo'burg are not wise to visit at night, but completely safe parts of the city include Berea and Hillbrow, you will have no problems there. Also, many Sarth Efricans are quite image conscious and dress immaculately for what most would deem casual social occassions. So unless you want to be scoffed at, and look like an obvious tourist, I suggest wearing nothing but the best articles in your wardrobe, a nice watch goes down well also.
