Hay thar /trv/! It's a long term goal of mine to treat myself to a little visit to Scandinavia sometime in the near future. How much do you think it would cost for me me to fly from North Carolina to either Oslo, Norway or Stockholm, Sweden and find decent lodging?

depends when you want to go. if you're looking for the summer..you're fucked. shouldve booked earlier.

depends what you mean by "decent"? Hotel or hostel? The flight is no problem, the stay is the most costly.

Scandinavia is a pretty nice place, but it's also one of the most expensive.
Oslo is THE most expensive city in Europe.

I live in NC and went to Sweden on business last month. Airfare from RDU-CPH aroud 2Gs, though that was through the company's agency, etc.

Can't speak much for the county as I had very little time to myself but Lund, Malmo are neat little towns. Oresund bridge is really cool.

The easiest way to get to Stockholm is to fly to Stockholm. The easiest way to get to Skane...etc. is to go to Copenhagen and ride the train for 20 minutes.

That's true. A flat in Moscow would cost 3000 euros per month.

If it's between Oslo or Stockholm, go to Stockholm. I have lived around 10 years in different places in Norway and Oslo is one of the worst places! If you want to go to a nice town in Norway try Trondheim(3rd largest city in Norway) or even Bergen.
