I want to go to France with my girlfriend for around 5-7 days. Looking for a nice coastal area with plenty to do other than get cancer on the beach, not ruling out any mildly 'educational' places either, so long as it looks nice.

Ideally for around 600-650GBP (britfag) total inc flight.

Any idea's where to go (cheapish obv), need to stick to the base budget for the flight and hotel though, I don't haul a lot of money as I am a student. Hotels don't need to be especially good, we're both more interested in enjoying the surroundings rather than luxuries.

JUST DON'T LET ANYONE TELL YOU TO GO TO CORSE!

They speak a language no one understand and hold you captive, feeding you nothing but the dark crusted stuff they scratch out between their toes. Then they send you walking down a deserted streed and make you fight your way down a slope spiked with dried out, thorny bushes, promising you an amazing beach as a reward when all you end up with are a bunch of rocks, covered in jellyfish. Which they obviously throw at you... no, not the jellyfish, the rocks. Covered in jellyfish tentacles. And urine.

Also, it's really windy.

fail.
Dude, I'm french, and, honestly, I don't know.
I never go to the coast on vacation, it's too full of dutch and britfags.

What kind of activities or "plenty to do" are you looking for?
Sports? "Adventure?" (hiking, whatever)
Just visiting stuff? (castles, caves, canyons, ancient cities...)

Protip : I enjoy the mountains in the summer. It's beautiful there.
