I'm going to Hong Kong, any tip? Where is a good hotel to stay, where to shopping, anything I should expect from there? What should I not miss? I'll be there for 2-3 days.

sorry pic unrelated... I would have google for related pic but google isn't working for me right now.

Whats your Hotel budget?

Places to shop: Causeway Bay in HK island; don't miss the all Japanese department store 'SOGO'.
Mong Kok markets for, cheap stuff, and knock off clothing.
Sham Shui Po for gadgets (including PC's and consoles) and markets for cheap knock offs.
Lang Kwei Fong in Central for the bar scene - if you're a maleanon vist this place.

Don't talk to the Indian's as they're trying to sell you shit, like suits, but if you do don't tell them where you're from.. they _will_ ask as it's a sales tactic.

Do not give money to the Monks.. they're fake.

Eat Chinese food.

Minimum Taxi fair is 15HKD

Don't vist on a Sunday.

MTR - the Metro, shut at around 1am.

about hotel budget... not sure. It's not me who's going to pay. I think not too expensive but I don't want a dirty place. Maybe 3 stars hotel in a location that's convenient for shopping?

Yes, the largest and cheapest.
Best way of getting there is via the MTR. Take the Tsuen Man line (the red line) to Tsuen Man, get off at Sham Shui Po. Head to Exit D, this will take you an entrance to the Golden Gate Shopping center which is directly opposite the exit. There are two shopping complexes within the building/block. They are not connected. Walk around the block (clockwise) until you find the entrance to the other complex.

Exit C for the markets.

Not on a Sunday because Sunday is the holiday for the domestic helpers (Filipino maids). Hong Kong known to be overcrowded but Sunday's are insane.

Though I now live here I did previously stay here (North Point) on a number of occasions http://www.harbour-plaza.com/en/index.aspx?hotel_id=hpnp
and here:

HK island is by far more expensive than Kowloon but but island side has more to offer and doesn't suffer as much from the overcrowding as can be seen in Mong Kok or TST

the MTR is fucking awesome. Used it first time I went there and I never got lost at all nor had difficulty travelling from place to place.

kowloon has more atmosphere hk island is just office buildings and overpriced restaurants and bars... but kowloon is something else. stay in chunking mansions... its really nice.. that's why it has 'mansions' in it its name.

I just came back from HK not long ago. Causeway Bay is awesome for shopping, I think most stores should be having summer sale. Food was cheap and relatively high quality, I spent almost every day eating dimsum.

2-3 days? That's not enough! Heck, a week isn't enough if you're keen on shopping.
