Who else has spent way too much time playing with Google Earth? How do you use it?

Right here. Shock and gasp, I actually use it for route planning. Well, not route planning exactly, but I seem to be doing a lot of travelling lately, son its good to get addresses and postcodes and figure out distances and directions and crap like that.

Also I'm thinking about making a massive pointer shape in the field opposite my house and seeing how long it takes to show up.

I use it to find big cities in the middle of nowhere that I never knew about. Extra points if they have a population of over one million.

I use it too much. Wake up one day and wonder how Moldavia looks, spend 20 minutes in Google Earth checking the landscape.

A friend of mine actually uses it in conjunction with a GPS unit hooked into his laptop for when he goes on long trips. It's really cool, it's like having an in-car GPS screen without paying the fees.

I use it to plan escape routes accessible without a vehicle, should they decide to find me and block the roads.

It's fucking win with GPS and mobile internet. Use it for storm chasing over the great plains with NWS overlays and other cool shit. Real easy to find motels too.
