Ugly / horrendously out of place building time.

This charming building is the Tour Montparnasse in Paris. Who the frig decided to build THAT in the middle of Paris of all places? WTF?
>> Anonymous
only the french could fail that hard.
>> Anonymous
Well i had always thought the French had kept their cities safe from buildings liek that but i was wrong.

Anyone else feel like that looks like the headquarters of an evil organization or something?

I always find the Citi building in Long Island, Queens to be ridiculous.

Yes, Manhattan is just across the river, but it's as if they thought building one skyscraper would encourage Manhattan to spill across the river into Queens.

Maybe they were planning to make a cluster there, but the idea didn't take off?
Anyways, this building is called Sao Vito, its in Sao Paulo.
It is mostly occupied by homeless niggers right now.
People who got in and managed to come out alive say the inside of the building is 10 times uglier than the outside...

lol yeah. One of my favorite parts of Paris is one of the nice suburbs, La Defense...don't let the word 'suburb' fool you though, it's more 'city' than inner-city Paris is.

I'm fairly certain that La Defense constitutes a portion of Paris, and, unless you can provide a source that says otherwise, I refuse to believe that you're right. Even so, however, there are a few other towers within the city of Paris but outside of La Defense.

Uh, yes, because "they" were trying to "spread Manhattan" into Queens with this building. Try: office space was needed there, so someone built it there. And way to pick the shittiest picture possible.

>>81849
If they live there then they aren't homeless niggers, what with it being a home and all. Pretty sweet building though (not the structure itself, just the graffiti. I've never seen an entire high-rise covered in graffiti before).
>> Anonymous
>>81942
i said homeless niggers because the building was abandoned and then shitloads of homeless people occupied it, which is the same reason why it cant be demolished now.
But yeah, the graffiti is pretty impressive.

Don't try and deflect. The fact is, La Defense is not in Paris like you thought it was. It is a suburb of Paris; it is as much Paris as Versailles and La Courneuve are (both other suburbs). And I challenge you to find any French person who considers La Courneuve a part of Paris.
>> Anonymous
>>81958
I have been well aware that La Defense was a suburb for many years, this is not "deflecting". However, it is as much a part of Paris as Beverly Hills is a part of Los Angeles. The fact that it doesn't fall under the municipal boundaries created hundreds of years ago doesn't mean much.

Also, it is more a part of Paris than Versailles due to it being in the inner ring of Ile-de-France, nevermind the fact that its connected to the inner city by Metro and RER.

Fuck you, Gibbard's Crypt is the best thing in Liverpool. That's not really an achievement considering the city is foul and infested with thieving scum, but none the less, it's a fantastic building with some grand landscaping to set it off.

Anyone else think they really should have hit the Empire State Building? The WTC towers were an eyesore and we don't identify with them as a symbol of America like we do the Empire State Building. It would have made a much bigger impact.

the wtc was a very weak building, structurally. the part that was holding it up was just in the middle of the building, and the walls were just there to be walls. it was an easy target.

the empire state building is solid though, if they hit that maybe a few floors would burn but the building itself would have been fine.

well they built them with the possibility of a plane hitting them in mind, but they didn't think the pilots would be flying a plane with a full fule tank straight at the center of the buildings as fast as possibe

The Sears tower is already fucking hideous. The spire isn't going to be that bad. They had to build it so they could continue to have the tallest building in the country. However, they've paused construction until after this whole money crisis is over.
