I want to visit scotland sometime and see the country of my namesake. I went there once on a school trip (would have been fun but was in a play during the edinburough theatre festival and was crazy busy). Want to know what there is that is wicked. Plus has anyone everbeen to the Crathes castle? My family is descended from the Burnetts and I want to see the castle (didn't get the chance on my first trip).

Crathes Castle is the dullest castle in Scotland. Good thing is it only takes about 10 minutes to visit so you can go see something more interesting.

Other things to remember -

1. Learn how to pronounce EDINBURGH (Ed-in-bur-ah not Ed-in-burg) and GLASGOW (Glaz-go not Glass-gow) properly before going

2. Don't talk to Scottish people about your Scottish heritage. No one gives a fuck, seriously. It's the most tedious thing about tourists.

3. Get off the beaten track. Don't spend more than a few days in the cities, get into the Highlands.

I'm Scottish and fuck, I need to see the country more myself. I live 25 miles away from Crathes Castle and I don't even think I've been.

No, if you pronounce Edinburgh the way its spelled you are pronouncing it wrong, it has nothing to do with accent

Also, there are such things as televisions and cars here...Please be a good tourist and don't ask questions about what we do or do not have. Also, try IRN BRU and try too see as much countryside as possible. Avoid tourist shops like the plague.

I live here and hate it. I find the Scottish Highlands to be the most boring and ugliest place in the world. I don't even recommend going there. But you might like it, who knows? All I saw was foliage and fucking Highlanders.

I've lived in Glasgow all my life and honestly, there's not much to do other than wander around and look at art galleries and museums. Which are semi-interesting, I suppose. You could also visit the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh, but it's also ugly and fails because it was millions of pounds over budget (what a great way to waste lots of money). Also, the tour is quite dull. I've been to Edinburgh Castle, it an okay day out. Go there.

Inverness and Aberdeen failed epically when I went to them. Boring.

tl;dr: I hate Scotland and I'm complaining to you about it.

The ugliest place in the world? Are you blind? I can understand finding it dull if you don't like outdoor pursuits but ugly? Srsly? What would you consider beautiful? I'd love to go back sometime.

Those ones in Edinburgh. Because they're in Edinburgh. And that means they're better than ones not in Edinburgh.
