Higher-ups decided to hold the next meeting in Hokkaido for some reason. I'm not sure where in Hokkaido yet, though.I've flown to Japan lots of times before but it's always been Tokyo up till now (honsha is in Ginza), is there anything I should know about the place? Also, I'll have several days off there, where should I go/do? Wikitravel kind of sucks.
Take a train and go see the beautiful landscape that is Hokkaido. Places like Toyako Onsen, that lake where Marimos grow, etc. Also, if you're a railfan, pic may be relevant to your interests.
Also, http://www2.jrhokkaido.co.jp/global/index.htmlThe flowers are in bloom.
Sapporo is pretty sweet.
Hokkaido is Japan's frontierland, its "American West". It was "discovered" in the 19th century (after centuries of being the foreign Ainu land of "Ezo") and soon boomtowns such as Sapporo sprang up. And yeah it's pretty.
