I was in Barcelona during the Christmas and New Year's eve.. I loved it.
You should see the Park Güell, where Gaudi resided. It's like a huge garden with nice roads to walk on. And there obviously is a cafe and all kinds of souvenir shit.
The place was just great, even though it was raining a bit. Actually I think I kind of liked the rain there, it created a nice atmosphere.
Also, Las Ramblas. I'm sure you're familiar with it, it's a huge lively street with a shitload of street artists and shops and all kinds of stuff.
Where are you going to live and how long? I lived in a rent apartment on Las Ramblas for 2 weeks.
