dear /trv/

I've been considering the possibility of moving to Alaska. I've heard good, great, bad, and horrible things about the place. What I would really be concerned with is the general cost of living, what there is to do, and job opportunities.

I plan on getting an associates before heading to Alaska, what kind of help from the government could I get for finishing a bachelors should I be looking into? What degrees will get me a descent job in one of the cities like Anchorage? My current scholarship is only good in the state of Florida.

so yeah, tell me what you know about Alaska

I read the wildlife really isn't as bad as people think it is.

Jobs pay more, cost of living is higher. The economy over there is alright.

I cant talk about Anchorage specifically, but I have a friend who lives in Fairbanks, and he's mentioned that as long as your degree isn't in some stupid bullshit like underwater basketweaving, job offers will be thrown at you left and right because Alaska suffers from a serious "brain-drain" effect.

Only go to Alaska if you are aspiring to be a badass
