australia to canada (toronto) Anonymous
Im an aussie guy.
Been with a canadian girl for almost 3 years, I have visited her 3 times for 3 months a pop, she visited me once here.

I want to live and work in canada (toronto), but am too old for the easily available working holiday crap visa..

has anyone here done the move from australia to canada? Im unsure what visa to apply for, I have alot of IT experience and qualifications, and I understand now they (canada) want IT nerds pretty badly.

Any experiences or advice?
I just want to work and live with my lady, who i fucking adore.

I have thought about the illegal option, but fuck, i would rather do it properly, I am no fucking criminal.

TLDR: 30yo aussie wants advice on working and living in canada.

pic not related, its a man with an elephant penis.

Anyways I really have no idea how immigration works here but I imagine it's pretty easy to get in considering half the police in my city are Scottish.

Is pretty easy to get a visa for a IT anglofag if you find a job first. Bonus points if you speak french fluently and apply for a visa in Quebec.

As much as I hate you stealing our wimmens, I will tell you this.

As long as you are a skilled worker who can contribute to the Canadian economy you shouldn't have a problem.

OP here again
what are some good sites to find IT jobs in canada?
>> Anonymous
Hey OP you can prolly get a job with the gov' doing IT.

For federal jobs:
http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/Search_en.aspx
http://jobs-emplois.gc.ca/

For provincial (Ontario) jobs:
http://www.gojobs.gov.on.ca/Jobs.aspx

For municipal jobs:
http://www.toronto.ca/employment/

If you are able to get a job with the gov., then they'll do all your visa stuff and speed it up too, of course.

If NOT, then the easiest place to get a visa to Canada (either for work or permanent) is through Newfoundland - cause they have a low labour force and need people.

I don't know of any private IT firms in Toronto off the top of my head but one my friend works for the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Transportation in the provincial level, setting up servers etc., he makes about 70-80k per year + allowances and all the benefits that come from working with the government.

thanks for those sites, i will check them now.
Im a unix nerd, pretty experienced, done alot of server work in the adult industry (think high hit, streaming content, lots of script kiddies trying to get your content for free) also alot of stuff in the mobile phone/sms gateway area (content to mobiles etc)
anyway thank you very much.

It's no problem. If you have IT experience in telecom you could also try and get a job with the 2 major telecom companies.
