wheres a good place to go for the fall?
>> Anonymous
Well, since you have included an image of changing leaves, I would assume that that is what you are waiting for.

Go to northern New Hampshire (The white mountain national forest) and camp there the second week of September. That's when the leaves change and the hills look like they are on fire. It's amazing.

Kyoto in the fall is beautiful, especially with all the Japanese maple trees and Japanese gardens. The weather is nice too.

I usually go to New England the first week of October. Sometimes the leaves are past their peak though, but not always. I have been through New Hampshire on a few trips and in places it really does look like the hills are on fire. It's awesome. Since someone mentioned Montreal I'll relate that on one trip we went from Niagra Falls to Montreal, which is a neat city to visit, but as far a foliage it didn't compare to NEng. We stayed in Montreal for 2 days then drove and re-entered the U.S. in New Hampshire. We got on route or state rd. 26 which cuts kind of diagnal from the NW tip over to Maine. That was one of the most memorable parts of that trip. It's all rural, cutting through steep granite mountains with a lot of awsome natural features to stop, gawk at and photograph. There's an old resort on 26, I think an Amish farm to visit and I think Poland Springs is there too (if you're not from the northeast you don't know what that is, don't worry about it). After we went across Maine we went to Acadia National Park. This place is absolutely awsome. Srsly. It's got granit mountains (1000 footers) right on the ocean lots of foliage to look at, trails, labstahs. If anyone goes to Acadia make sure and go on the Precipice trail. You will never foget it. (not for kids under 12). Well that's all I got. Have Fun!

NHfag here. Stay the fuck off of NH-101 and the interstates, and you can see great foliage anywhere in the state. NH-11 is a good road to follow - it runs concurrent with US-3 for a while, traces around the southwestern shore of Lake Winnipesaukee, and from there goes to Rochester (the Seacoast's Sphincter) and NH-16/the Spaulding Turnpike, which goes to Portsmouth.

Australia! Awesome! Just don't forget to bring along your Guide To Things That Will Kill You in Australia Vols. 1-6. You can probably leave volume 3 at home though. It's mainly just the same stuff that will kill you here in the U.S.
Have Fun!!

And Fuuuuck northern new hampshire. Go there if you like hicks. (Seriously.) You may get to try some fresh venison... or you may get shot while walking in the woods (it's hunting season.)

Or, come to Burlington. We are a little bit more cultured because we have 5 colleges in this area, and we are only half an hour from Montreal. We always have art, concerts, good food, and buskers/street performers, etc... And good night life.

northern NH is great if you're a redneck, a backpacker or a survivalist. That's about it.

More colleges = more girls. This makes vermont superior to any part of NH except the seacoast area.

The only girls in northern NH are knocked up by their relatives as soon as there's grass on the field.

And some of them speak some weird dialect of french.

You better contact their tourism bureaus now to find out how things are. They might be already experiencing autumn or close.
