CA fags. Probably be going with my mom for a couple of days to California. She is going to some kind of nursing seminar. It's in San Jose. I want to go to SF. Tell me what to do in just a short time. Is there any kind of early computer museum in palo alto.

Computer museum?

How about you just stay home and wallow in your fail instead?

If you're only there for a couple days, don't bother with San Jose aside from the Tech Museum (this is probably what you want when you said computer museum), or unless you really like egyptian stuff (if so, go to the Rosicrucian Museum, one of the largest collection of Egypt crap in the WORLD). Other than that, just go to SF. Take the commuter train up in the morning, and the commuter train back in the evening. (http://www.caltrain.com)

Things to do in SF: WALK or BIKE across the Golden Gate bridge. That's the one thing that I recommend people do here (and I see lots of tourists at my job). Aside from that, it really depends on your interests:

-The Embarcadero: Walk along it once you get off at the train station. It'll bring you right downtown, and it takes you right under the Bay Bridge.

-Golden Gate Park: It's too big to see most of in one day, but you can get a pretty good idea of what it's like. Definitely go if you like architecture, as nearly all of the park's original infrastructure and buildings are intact. Make sure to check out the Conservatory of Flowers (just for the building), the Japanese tea gardens, and Stowe lake.

-Th Exploratorium: Since you said you were interested in computer crap, this might interest you, too. Lots of hand-on science things to mess around with. Great architecture nearby, too.

-Ride the cable cars: They're pretty fun to ride, but expensive (about $7 I think). Take the Powell-Hyde line.

-Ride the elevator at the St. Francis: Awesome view on the external glass elevators. Free, too.

-See City Hall: It's pretty impressive.

Things I would NOT recommend doing in SF: Fisherman's Wharf/Pier 39. Not worth your time. The only thing redeeming about the area is the In-N-Out (the only one in SF).

The Wikipedia thing on SF is pretty inclusive: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:San_Francisco_Attractions

Go to the Castro District in San Francisco. Get you're butt plugged by what SF's most famous for... GAYS!

Seconded.

I would recommend Oakland more than San Fransico.

But if you must,
Go to Peoples Park, you'll find plenty of people dealing some pretty good weed.

Go check out slims or bottom of the hill, there will prolly be a show going on, no one big, but still.

You can go to haight ashbury for the hell of it, but you wont find anything there but bums and maybe some more tourists.

Check out ther pier, go to streetlight books, the warf, uhhhhhh. get some clam chowder.

Nothing else really, unless you have friends there, or concert tickets. Like I said, oakland is more fun, less touristy shit.

BART ftw! You can see the whole bay in a day!

that because you like me live in the bay area, when you live here any semblance of fun turns into fail, moral of the story, the bay area is shit.

ohgod, Pier 39 is such a waste of space. Good clam chowder, sure, but so overly-saturated with cheapass touristy shit that it's not even worth it.

I just recently went to the St. Francis hotel two weeks ago specifically for the view from those glass elevators which I heard about via word of mouth and my travel guide. They told me to get the fuck out. I THOUGHT SAN FRANCISCO WAS LIKE ALL TOLERANT AND SHIT WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT

If you're a weeaboo like half of 4chan and you happen to be in SF then the Japantown is worth a short visit however it is in a shitty area.

Another good weeaboo spot is Hakone Gardens in Saratoga. It's a pretty short way from San Jose.

A place that I've been meaning to go to but I didn't because I suck ass at travel planning is the SF-88 missile site in Marin.

They're open Wednesday to Friday. I found out about them on Saturday. Fuck me.

This place is in Mountain View, next door to NASA-Ames Research Center.

I've in the Bay nearly all my life and have never been. :(
