Dont go to rotterdam.

Its the compton of Holland.

Rotterdamfag here, it depends. Are you a guido or otherwise into loud trance and techno? Then you'll fit right in.

If you're in any way cultured, go elsewhere. Amsterdam, Tilburg or Maastricht are quite decent.

hey, i've been to rotterdam, amsterdam and hague. rotterdam - shit's pretty good. great modern architecture, river tours, and i think it was the "waterfront" club where some good bands play, like strung out, protest the hero and such when they come on tour.

however, yeah, guidos, compton of holland are also true but with a correct elitist approach can be overlooked.

Rotterdam is good for the modern architecture:

The Hague And Rotterdam are fucking lame as hell. I don't go to raves or rap battles, so there was nothing for me to do there.

Amsterdam was ok I guess. I had a hard time finding a decent bar that wasn't so goddamn touristy, where they played some proper (read: live) music.

The thing with Amsterdam is, It feels a bit too much like a grown up amusement park for my tastes. It's fun for a weekend but staying there longer is like staying in Disneyland for a month. I'd rather go to a proper fucking city like Lisbon, Madrid or Dublin.

I had fun in Grongienen (spelling) Tilburg, Den Bosch and Maastricht.

Drive over to Germany for a day and see our turks and black people - the latter have just arrived from some unknown place behind the horizon.

Oh and you should use google when you are in the Netherlands.

Yeah well I'm a Germanfag originally, but I moved to Canada when I was a kid.

I got more info about this the other day and it turns out I'm actually going to be staying in Amersfoort.

New ideas?

Go watch some muay thai fights. I personally think the dutch breed some of the best MT fighters out of Thailand.

Have a look at the cities near Rotterdam. Look into Delft or Leiden for the smaller, authentic city-feel you won't easily find in Rotterdam.

But first, what do you like? Where are you from? Do you want to explore Dutch culture? What is already offered through the exchange programme? What kind of exchange are we talking about?

lmao, we have culture? As a fellow dutchfag, this is news to me.

We have a culture: one of assimilation and traders. Everywhere we go we pick up the useful parts and integrate it in our society.

Also, Amsterdamfag here. Too many toursit to spoil the authentic feel. Visit Haarlem instead

That just shows we have a distinct lack of culture. Culture is my chosen field (well I study South American but any form of culture is relevant to my interests.)

Max whatshisface, the New York correspondent for RTL did a program for the KRO whereby he came back to Holland. The conclusion was we're in many ways more amerikkkana now than most of America.

Dutch culture is disgusting puréed foods, terrible 'folk' music, Heineken, soccer riots, vandalism and voting right wing Christian.

Actually the dutch have lots of culture, it's just you dont like it so you'd rather pretend you dont have any at all.

The dutch were the most vicious capitalists of all time.

Utrecht is just a few miles away, you could always spend some time over there as it's the fourth largest city in the Netherlands with plenty to do.
Other than that, Amersfoort has a nice zoo.

Hey, I'm from Almere and I resent your comment, even though you're absolutely right.

God, we're such a shithole.
