140 people on board of this machine and the only thing the pilot said after they landed was

"It was challenging"

Is this motherfucker the coolest guy ever or what. With nerves and skill like these you don't need luck or god on your side

I'll say. Did you see how the plane was getting tossed around? Holy shit what a landing.

no i was not around Hamburg or another Airport
but here the trees fell over and a few rooftops got stripped by the wind very chaotic

I saw several vids of planes landing with strong side winds. It's a trick pilots use, in which they face the winds a bit with the plane, and the moment they hit the runway they stir it straight.

It takes a shitload of skills to perform something like that, especially in the case of OP's vid, which was the strongest case of winds I've seen in that kind of stuff.

the copilot (24 year old woman) was actually
flying/landing the plane!
the captain took over from her when they put the engines on max again. they landed safely on the 2nd attempt.

fucking wow. I would figure if it was blowing so hard they would just go to a different air port.
There is no way you can call that safe.

bad piloting and poor decision making by the captain.
fucker thought he was top gun, but he just a button pressing douche that flies with both feet on the floor.
the thread about it in /n/ tells the story better

The Landingstrip was the 230 in Hamburg which means it has a angle of 230°. The crosswinds came in at 290° with a speed of 40-49knots. The recommended maximum-windspeed for landing a A320 is 30knots.

Trying to land a plane in a 50-70° angle with more than 10knots more than the recommended maximum-windspeed and succeeding in the second attempt is definitely bad piloting...

It was the flighcontrollers fault who said that the pilot can land. The pilot is not the one who decides when to land idiot.

A320 is certified up to 55km/h for safe landing.
the wind at the time was 45km/h.
get your facts straight...

Also the pilot is the one who decides wether to land or not.
