Hi, i'm going to Paris in July. Anybody know some stores with english Mangas or Animes?
>> Huntard
Most stuff in france is in french because they're reluctant to learn english. Tried googling for stores?
>> Huntard
Me again, I found this from 1998, but maybe some still exist. Open the file and search for 'paris'.

When I went to Paris, pretty much no one I encountered spoke English and I kept getting mistaken for a French dude and people kept speaking machine gun French to me...

There will be a huge offer in like every shop that sells books or even CDs, but it's all going to be in French. The French love comics in every form, it's much more appreciated and accepted in society than in other countries, which is why you can find comics everyone, just not the English versions. But then again, isn't the American market for mangas bigger than the French one?

If you really want to go to a shop, go the Virgin Megastore on Champs Elysées. You'll probably be going there anyway and it's got almost a whole floor of comics.

Hi, FrenchParisianFag here.

You won't find manga and anime stuff in English here :/

But actually there are quite a lot of good places for goods and figures. Also, many anime DVD have english speaking and subtitles :)

Some places you should check out:

Nautilus ==> http://nautilus-anime.com/page-nouscontacter.html

Tonkam (Rue Keller, 11e arrondissement) Ask google for the phone number and complete address.

Junku ==> http://www.junku.fr/
But please be careful. Most of the other shops sell bootlegs and fake. Don't buy anything at Konci or Asian Alternative. Don't hesitate to ask clearly if it's fake or not.
Beside this, many people in France speak a correct English, even though their accent is disgusting. (as I've been living in NY for one year, I don't have this problem).

Plus, if you want to get a Japanese chick, go to the Luxembourg garden, there are plenty that just wait to be bang :D

Konci at the Voltaire avenue is not that abd. But you have to be careful
...
Maybe I'll walk in Luxembourg Garden more often...

Accent or not, your grammar needs a tiny bit of fine tuning. ;)

OH yeas, it IS that bad >____<

>>30515

Yeah sorry, I'm still an ass when I write. But trust me, it's not the case when I speak :D Adding a lot of "fucking", "shitty" and "you know" in my sentences helps it to be more "American".

And w/ that funny Texan accent that I have... xD

Honestly, I think the Franco-English accent sounds rather nice.

I know Konci. It's always crowded and it's just too fucking far from the city center. I was staying at a friends place near La Muette metro station and it was a hassle getting there.

There's the Japanese book store "Book Off" in near Opéra metro station and there are shitloads of Jap stuff for anyone who's interested. It's supposed to be a Jap neigborhood, IIRC.

One last place to go would be the Album comic book stores around St Michel or Cluny La Sorbonne station. I don't live in Paris (I live in Aix in the south) so most of these are from memory. A final comment: I hate using the metro in Paris, it makes me feel so claustrophobic. Wonder what it'll be like if I visit NYC?

This place at the Pyramides Metro Station is great if you want to eat japanese food.
You can be assured it's real food made by real japaneses (not chineses). They won't make you only sushis, yakitoris or tonkatsus

Also, it's been a while since i went to Konci. At first, it was near of Republique. A good place.
