Hey /trv/, I'm planning to go to Sydney for vacation and I don't know shit about that place. So can you recommend me any decent hotel and what place to go?

By the way, how much does it cost you in Shangri-La hotel anyway? Please and thank you.

Dear OP,

Sydneysider here.
Things to do: take the Jetcat ferry to Manly beach (beats shit olut of Bondi)
Also, check out Coogee and Maroubra beaches. Less retarded British backpackers.
The Rocks etc. Touristy, but interesting. Climb Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Go to the Blue Mountains, Jenolan Caves. Day trips out of the city.

Places to avoid: anywhere out west. The lebanese control that part of Sydney now.
Redfern, an inner city suburb, because of dangerous aboriginal gangs.

Don't go to Kings Cross.

Pretty average sort of place to visit, I'd suggest going somewhere more interesting. You'll probably like it (the rest of Austrlia hates Sydney, like with the largest city of any country) but I don't.

OP here, thanks for the input but here's the last question I would like to know. Do you guys know any good SPA in Sydney?

My info on Sydney's hotels is a bit out of date, but for what it is worth:-
There's a big Hyatt in Kings Cross they used to put us in. There's a fire station across William St so if there's a fire you'll know about it.
The Sydney Hilton is OK. Try the Marble Bar if it's still going.
There's a big Travlelodge in North Sydney (just across the bridge) but it's directly above a rail station.
I'm a light sleeper.
The Menzies (was a Holiday Inn, not now) was pretty good.
probably the one I enjoyed the most.

Bullshit. I lived across from the El Alamen fountain (or the Bourbon if you prefer, you history-less ingrates) for fucking years and never got trouble from anyone. Worst thing in Kings Cross are the drunken backpackers.
Good cafes in the Cross these days. Also, Elizabeth Bay, Wollomolloo and Rushcutters are pretty places for a stroll.

ITT: people who don't know shit about sydney

OP, I would suggest coming in our summer or late spring, the weather is shitty right now.

Check out the Northern Beaches and Royal National Park, Shelly Beach, do some walking in the Blue Mountains (not just Katoomba), party at club77, ruby rabbit and Ivy.
