I'm thinking of moving to S.America to teach english. I've already enrolled in a TEFL program in London for April, that will leave me qualified to teach English anywhere in the world.

My main plan really is Brazil. I hear cost of living is pretty low. The girls are amazingly attractive too.

Anyone here ever done this?

watch out for drugs, crime, and imprisonment.
2 British brothers were in jail for 4 years without trial, and even then they only got out by illegal means.
Also STDs.

Chile and Argentina are also pretty good choices, just not as 3rd world as Brazil. Both have fairly sexy women, good food and a relatively low cost of living

Not really interested in the women, how are the girls?

Brazil is more dangerous than they're made out to be. Go for Argentina or Chile like Anonymous suggested.

I lol'd.

Just out of interest, do you need to learn the local language or is it just assumed that if you can only speak English to them, they can only speak English back to you and this is how they end up learning?

If they're using the Direct Method like most schools do, you will not be allowed to use the student's mother tongue. Usually English is all they want and will probably send you to classes to learn whatever the local language is.
