Hawaii Anonymous
/trv/, myself and a friend are really considering a trip to Hawaii this (late?) summer. I've been one time when I was a kid. He's never been. When I went, we basically stayed in Waikiki the whole time and while it was nice and everything, I really want to visit some of the more beautiful places with awe-inspiring vistas and all that good stuff. We're looking for something that is reasonably affordable.

But yeah, what are some great places to visit in Hawaii? What island would be the best for both nature stuff as well as having a good night life scene? I'm into photography, so I want some awesome places I could go shooting. Any and all input would be highly appreciated.

Unless you're in the military or a dependent and traveling with someone connected with the military, I suggest going somewhere else. Like your front lawn with an ice chest and a lawn chair. Otherwise, there's a really great hotel called the Hale Koa in Waikiki. A basic room isn't that costly, and it's right on the beach.

By "reasonably affordable" I didn't mean under $100. I meant, you know, reasonably affordable by traveling to Hawaii standards.

I'm just wondering if going elsewhere than Waikiki would be both more interesting and (slightly?) less expensive. How's Maui?

My advice is to get off Oahu. Go see Maui. If you want an even more remote and natural experience go to Kauai.

Kauai and the big island are both great for nature stuff. Kauai is pretty much the greenest island and the big island is the most volcanic (and the entire eastern half is basically a rain forest). Can't really help you on nightlife, I've only been to Hawaii with the family. I went to Maui a few years ago and it wasn't bad either, though personally I liked Kauai and the big island more.

protip: the flight to fiji is a lot more, but you save so much momey while you're there that i ends up being much more affordable than HI.
plus its better, more exotic, not ruined by USA nigger culture. its a real pacific island nation, not a disney version with mcdonalds and faggotry.
