Bulgaria. seems you wont escape the eastern bloc.

Hey, any eurofags know, what if i leave big cities? Could I move to one of these countries and leave a major city like Berlin or London and be OK? What about moving to the middle of nowhere in Italy and drinking wine all day?

A common theme in retard-grade chit-chat in Turkey is that European pensioners get to live like monarchy in Southern Turkey with money that would be worthless back home. Comparing prices here to those in Geneva, there might be some truth behind that.

Spain is still relatively cheap if you move out of the tourist trap areas. The dollar is in the toilet but I notice american wages are still pretty high for our standards so if you wangled some sort of remote work you'd do OK
>> Anonymous
>>43271
Err, I don't live in Europe, and I don't see where I ever mentioned being European. It appears that you simply are a butthurt cretin.

I have a good friend from Estonia and even he doesn't think it's a good place to live. He still loves it as his home country, but he prefers to stay in either Sweden or the US. It's not quite a 3rd world country, but it still severely lacks development, not to mention that they regularly get a ton of shit from the Russians, since they're a former USSR territory. Of course, already being rich and taking your money there would ensure a life somewhat better than that of the locals, but it still wouldn't be all that great.
>> Anonymous
What do people mean when they say, "I want to live like a King in X-Nation?"
>> Anonymous
>>43292
Unless you are from the UK and can benefit from the favourable pound-euro exchange rate living in Spain isn't cheap anymore. Unless you want to live in a forsaken rural town a la RE4.

Clearly they express their desire to overthrow the current regime and replace it with a monarchy of their own dynasty.
>> Anonymous
>>43297

I used that expression after I traveled around Morocco and stayed in fancy hotels and ate wherever I wanted because it was cheap at the time. (The time being the time I had monies)
>> Anonymous
Well, you got Ukraine, but I believe that's past the iron curtain as well. A coworker that went there said that one of our dollars is equal to five of their dollars.
>> Anonymous
>but i highly doubt you want to cross the iron curtain.

Why not? There are some awesome places in Eastern Europe, and almost every city is cheaper than the big cities in Western Europe. I would live there for a few years if I had a chance.

I wouldn't recommend Moscow. You can live like a king there, but it's more expensive than London or New York. You could probably find some nice small town in the suburbs of Moscow, Kiev, or somewhere in Hungary or the Czech Republic.

Hell I wouldn't rule out Kazakhstan either. All of those former Eastern Bloc countries are way better than third world shit-holes because they're fully industrialized, civilized and educated. Some of them are poor as fuck (are you planning on working there or bringing cash?), and Central Asia = dictator central, but whatever, can't have it all.

I wouldn't recommend the Baltics or the former Yugoslav though, both shit-holes.

I'd recommend Prague. It's relatively cheap there and it IS Europe instead of former USSR. But to think about it.. quite everywhere is relatively cheap comparing to Moscow where I live ^^

Yeah you can live like a king in Moscow.. if you've got the wallet of a king.

For cheap living go the soviet countries that are now in the EU-- I went to Latvia recently and they're all advanced and cheap, with ass-licking towards English-speaking things.

And Russians aren't at all bitter about it.

Moldova. When I was in Turkey I often heard people say "Let's go and have some fun in Romania, you can live like a king there!". Then someday I went to Romania and heard people say "Let's go and have some fun in Moldova, you can live like a king there!" Then someday I went to Moldova and found out that what I heard was right.

Russians never gave a fuck about Baltic people, what they care about are the Russians living there who are getting discriminated against. At least a quarter of the people in those countries are ethnic Russians.

The western half is like the rest of Europe who hate Russians.
The eastern half is full of Iron Curtain hicks who love Russia.

According to my Ukrainian roommate...

I'd say Bulgaria. Found an ensuite double room in Sofia for £7. Ukraine's pretty awesome too. Pint of beer and a twenty pack of cigs costs <£1. Frankly I'd rather live in Romania.

Poland, Ireland and Portugal are cheap, although they all suck. Hungary too maybe I seem to recall?

Czechoslovakia was cheaper than Germany when I went. Finland used to be cheap, not any more though. I hate the Baltic, but probably they're cheapish (Lithuania, I imagine)
