I'm going to Lithuania to visit some family this summer, which is all fine and dandy, but I can't seem to find out whether or not they speak Russian or not.

I know that the official language is Lithuanian, but I also know a lot of eastern European countries speak Russian in addition to their native tongue. I'm only curious because I can't speak Lithuanian but I can speak Russian, and I'd rather not pantomime to my family for three weeks

If it's anything like Latvia, then it depends on whether there's a Russian minority living there. Other then that, some old people might know it but the youth doesn't. You'll have better luck using English, they learn it in school.

Of course they do
