I'm going to Japan this april with a nine-hour connection on Toronto Pearson. I'm landing around 6:30AM and departing around 15h. I'm planning on taking a walk on Toronto City during this period (like hell I'm waiting 9 hours inside the f*** airport!)

So anyone living in Toronto here could give me some tips about places to see, eat, buy stuff in the city centre during this 9-hour lag? From the airport there's a frequent bus connecting to Kipling metro station, is that right?

If you can get down to Union Station, you'll be set. The entire downtown area is all connected by an underground path, so even if the weather is ass, you'll be able to explore to your hearts content. From there you can check out the CN Tower, Sky Dome, The Eaton Center, and all sorts of other nifty places, as well as be connected to just about every bus and subway in the city.

The airport strip itself is pretty amusing. It's where the best anime con in Toronto is held so I'm there for at least four days a year. Nothing stellar, and I guess it would suck if you can't hang out in a hotel and enjoy the pool and whatnot, but theres enough places to grab some food. I warn you though, the restaurant that's connected to the Travelodge over there will give you epic shits for a day or so. Chinatown is pretty cool too, since you can find damn near anything there. I'm not sure if they're easy to find in other places, but the paper tanks with the firecrackers that they sell from time to time there are pretty cool.

don't think 9 hours if you are doing a layover. think 6 at the most.

take the 192 bus to kipling station and then take subway down to union station it's on the very botton. I think there's some GO buses's too if you want to use them. They would go straight to union station.

Also it's fucking -15 today plus wind chill fucking freezing my balls off.

ya the 192 it runs every 10 minutes or so.

Path is failure. I had a map handy and got lost seven times trying to get from point A to point B.
