Hey guys.

Something has just crossed my mind.
If one would lawfully marry several women in a country where polygyny is legal, would he be prosecuted in a country where it's forbidden if he goes there?

I figured you'd be the ones who could answer this.

I'd say so. Different nations/cultures have different taboos, and when they're exposed to something they aren't comfortable with they raaaagggeeee at the perpetrator.

Lawdy, who would want more than one woman anyway, AMIRITE? (Had to get that out there, sorry)

No. I can't think of one country where it is legal. MArriage laws would only regonize one woman as the wife, the others would be roomates for all legal purposes.

I don't think they'd exactly arrest you at the airport for claiming you had multiple wives...

You won't get in trouble, but you sure as hell won't get a Visa either.

In some muslim countries. It's normal for a man to live with two or more wives. Most however, marry only one because they dont want to go through the hassle of having to sleep with different women every night.

But does raise the question. Will the marriage be recognized in a country that believes in non-poligamy?

No, the marriage would simply not be valid.
