Armenia is actually pretty good and pretty cheap. A lot of historic stuff if you're into it, and a lot of eating drinking stuff if you're into that too.

How do they treat turks?
>> Anonymous
>>53308

Pretty neutral, honestly. Unless you're very dark skinned in which case you might get some harassment from white trash hicks who mistake you for an A-RAB
>> Anonymous
>>53314
Aren't Armenians of darker complexion than Turks on average?
>> Anonymous
>>53330
Turkey has a wide range of skin complexion, the north-eastern Anatolia tends to house mildly pale people, which I believe should be close to what most Armenians look like, from geographical proximity.

Though I've heard horror stories, apparently even a Turkish lady on a NATO mission there was harassed a bit, but I don't know if it was true or just bullshit to scare people from going to Armenia. But I don't see any reason not to visit Armenia if you aren't Turkish, lots of cultural depth and history interwoven in a post-socialist state should be cool.

It's called state capitalism.

All the benefits you want for the state, with none of the obligations.
>> Anonymous
>>53331
Geographical proximity would suggest they would be closer to Eastern Anatolian Turks, which have the darkest complexion amongst Turks. Meh, whatever, let's not derail another thread with trivial discussion.

Ivanov applied to join the Communist Party and was interviewed.

"Comrade Ivanov, do you smoke?"

"A little."

"Do you know that comrade Lenin did not smoke and advised other communists not to smoke?"

"If comrade Lenin said so, I shall cease smoking."

"Do you drink?"

"A little."

"Comrade Lenin strongly condemned drunkenness."

"Then I shall cease drinking."

"Comrade Ivanov, what about women?"

"A little...."

"Do you know that comrade Lenin strongly condemned amoral behavior?"

"If comrade Lenin condemned, I shall not make love with them any longer."

"Comrade Ivanov, will you be ready to sacrifice your life for the Party?"

"Of course. Who needs such life?"

Lake Bakail, Irkutsk

Beautiful place, and so dinky.

If we are talking Soviet Union, not just Russia, the baltic states are great (Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia), some places in Ukraine are nice (the Crimea and L'viv are the best I can recomend - not Kiev, its a dump), and for cheap ruralness, you cant beat the many 'stans (Kazakhstans teh safest)

Only place I wouldn't recomend right now is Georgia, but it was nice before!

Have you actually ever lived in Japan or are you basing that on hentai manga and "rape is liking saying hello in japan" 4chan meme crap? Violent crime of any sort here is very low. Copping a feel on the train actually is fairly prevalent, but of course, that's quite far from rape.
>> Anonymous
>>54176

Do you realize most rape is committed by people who know the victim? The statistics only show the extent to which people are willing to deal with the social consequences of reporting the rape, as well as trust in the law enforcement system, etc.
>> Anonymous
>>54178
Yes. All the statistics are probably a bit low. But what makes you think Japan's reporting is out of line with rest? In general, Japan has very little violent crime compared to other developed countries. If you live for an extended, you'll indeed see this is the case and not just some under reporting/number bending. As a guy, I can't speak on rape, but as far as mugging, etc goes, I feel far safer alone in Japanese cities late at than in Western ones.
