So, /trv/, i'm going to Russia next year. Anything i should be wary of / look out for, and how much money should i take for approximately 2 weeks?

Rubles are cheap

Don't buy caviar from guys selling it on the street out of cardboard boxes. That way madness lies.

Trust me on this one.

Hangout at the places the foreigners go to. You see alot of Russian Mob dudes and their hot girlfriends.

Buy some missiles and a submarine, you can get a great deal.

This is also pretty much the safest place to go aswell. The mob types aren't into petty crime like the random street thugs.

Are you going to St. Petersburg and Moscow? Because you really should.

Moscow is such a shit city. Its a very dirty place to visit. But i still had a good time there, the legal drinking age is something like 16 and bars stay open till about 6 in the morning. Good times.

St. Petersburg is like a proper European city, it has all the things youd expect from any major city.

There's no drinking age in Italy

OP:
Just take your credit card, there's piles of international bank branches all over the place these days that'll be happy to convert your Jew-money into Rubles at a low fee.
That aside, haggle. Haggle until you atleast get the seller to go back down to the sticker price (Also, don't trust them if they say that decimal point in the price tag is a typo.)

However, do go to markets instead of faggoty super-stores - Even with people trying to rip you off left and right, it's still cheaper. The trick is to think and live like a Russian, and Moscow is rather affordable to live in and visit, but if you demand a Western experience, you'll get drowned in bills for this and that.

also just stay in the cities. never ever go between cities. just fly between moscow and peters if needed. the latter might be a better choice.
