an australian werewolf in london Anonymous
I'm on exchange to Nottingham uni. I get out on Dec 12th, and have to be in Edinburgh for new years.
Any suggestions as to what to fill the intervening weeks with?
What's worth seeing in England?

Other than edinburgh, what are some places to check out in the UK?

Depends a bit. What do you enjoy doing? I mean, there are some areas worth visiting for sightseeing and other worth visiting if you plan to go drinking/shopping/clubbing.

If you enjoy sports, I would look at what events are coming up and maybe tie those in with your plans.

If you're feeling ambitious and have a bit of cash, I'd go on a trip to Manchester and/or Liverpool, down through Wales to Cardiff, then to Bath & Bristol, take a train to London (via somewhere on the south coast if you want), catch the train from London Euston all the way up to Edinburgh (stopping at Newcastle etc. if you want).

If you want a bit of countryside, you're probably going to want a car. I'd recommend Wales or South-West England for that. It's probably going to be quite cold and wet by then, so it depends what kind of person you are really.

Depends what you are interested in.
I assume you have been to London, but if not -- British Museum, British Library, Tate Modern, St. Paul's, rave scene.
Outside London but still in England -- Durham Cathedral, Cambridge, Oxford, Salisbury Cathedral, Stonehenge, Glastonbury, Cornwall, the Lake District, Hadrian's Wall.
Scotland -- ruined cathedrals in the Borders, Edinburgh, Glasgow, the Highlands, the Isle of Skye, Loch Ness, the Orkneys.
