Alright /trv/ i come here for your expertise, I'm going to be going to Europe for a couple of weeks, I've decided I'm going to land in London (from Toronto,Canada) and go to Paris. Those are for sure, from there me and the two people I'm going with also want to go to Amsterdam Berlin and Rome. However looking over prices (train prices especially) it seems like a train from Paris to Amsterdam then Berlin will be in the range of 250.00-350.00 a person. Is there any cheaper way to travel? how is inter EU flights or even rental cars? Berlin to Rome i found tickets for 50-100$ so ive decided to go with that.

Cheap travel is the goal, the hotels and food and such price doesn't matter much so i wont worry about those but whats the cheapest way to travel over there? European help would be most welcome.

Have you considered a EuRail pass? It's only open to tourists (non-EU residents) and you get a pretty steep discount on standard fare if you're traveling around.

My suggestion, if you have the time, is to get a 3-5 country pass (or maybe a global pass and go nuts).

I looked at the EuRail 5 country pass but since im youth they need to be adjoining but since they count Benelux as one that shouldnt matter. But it looks like that will cost around 515$ which is more then a train from Paris to Amsterdam to Berlin then a plan to Rome and plane back to Paris, so it might not be the best option either. Though a 4 country pass might work since i guess they don't count the small pass over Austria as one which is good.

Have you considered staying in Canada?

It's less gay than europe.

Similar experience here: I went to Austria, Italy, and France on the EuRail pass. Definitely worth it since I could just pen in the date of my travel and not worry too much about going to the ticketing booth to get my ticket.

That can be troublesome in itself.

As for where to stay, I suggest looking at hostels as well. There's a place in Rome that I feel personally obligated to plug, and it's called...

Let me find it...

Odd... I can't find it... It was called "Il Cerchio" but it's not showing up on listings.

Anyway, it was a little expensive, but the place was absolutely amazing. It was located near Vatican City, the people were nice, and they even got my friend and me a glass of juice when we arrived. Breakfast was free too - a nice plus considering it was a hostel.

All in all, it was a little like having a mom who wouldn't come barging into your room to clean stuff up. The lady was just really nice.

I mean really nice... She drove my friend and me to the nearest laundromat because the normal place was closed and she didn't want to risk us getting lost on her directions in checkered English.

...because once again Europe is a country and with zero diversity.

OP: Fuck the shitty west-europe and go hardcore on the eastern front. Poland, Bulgaria and Hungary for hot bitches and 1€ beers

We were going to stay in hotels but it all depends what we make our final budget. We were thinking 2000, but 3000$ might be a better option.

you can find really cheap flights with low-cost companies like easy-jet or ryanair. Check offers, in most cases it's cheaper than trains.

That's sad... I mean it's very more of Europe than just the big cities.

Amsterdam, Berlin, Rome
Choose 1 if all you have is two or three weeks.

If you're determined to see some of the sights, you wake up early, and plan ahead, then as few as 3 days is enough. If you want to stick around and enjoy the scenery and stuff (but not really be a tourist), then a week is good.

Honestly I can't stick in a single city for more than a week if I'm traveling. After a few days regular stuff like getting food to eat becomes the highlight of my day, and that's just not okay.
