Hello, /trv/ I have a question for you. What is the cheapest way to travel from Tallinn (Estonia) to Fort Langley (Canada, near Vancouver)? The problem is, that, like the most of the population in Estonia i don't live very wealthy, so i guess i'll have to save money. I don't mind how much time it'll consume, it just has to be cheap. Please, i need your help.

Shameless bump, cause i really need help.

fly.

Anything that consumes any serious time also consumes serious money, since you need to pay for food and a place to sleep. Flying tends to be the cheapest way.

He means ON THE WAY. Case in point: if you were to take a boat, you'd have to pay for food and accommodation, resulting in a higher price than simply flying.

It used to be you could pick up work trans-Atlantic, especially if you have some experience on a boat or some useful skills. Hitting up people at a port and asking if anybody needs a deck boy or workaway can be a way to get across either free or even paid a little.

That said, your looking at 10 days of travel or so and hard work with people that aren't going to speak English.

The obvious anwer is to walk across the north pole when it freezes over during the winter. From Estonia to Canada is pretty much a straight shot, geographically.

I dunno if the Russians annexed the North Pole or whatever, and you'll be hounded by attack helicopters in the freezing cold, but it'll avoid air travel costs.

There would be more and cheaper flights to Canada from the richer Scandinavian states or Finland, I think you can take a ferry to Sweden and Finland, no? Check flights from there and book a year in advance is all I can say.
