How much for Washington DC? Anonymous
So, I want to train across America to watch a shuttle launch. I live in WA, and I've never made it more than 100 miles east. Been around the world, but never east coast.

So I plan to stop in Chicago, meet up with family friends for lunch, head on to DC, then end up in Miami. DC and Miami are my only 2 real stops. But what I'm really wondering is how much it's going to cost to get into museums and stuff around DC. I'm not planning to hit them all, just the major ones.

I think a lot of that stuff is free, but I'm wondering if any of you guys know better than me.

Food at DC is a real bitch, very expensive. Idk about museums.

The monuments are all outside and free.

Yea, the good museums are free if you are a US Citizen I believe. At least they were the last two times I went.

Stay at the hotel Harrington and ***ask for a view***. Its awesome, you can watch C-SPAN's fake pic of the capitol on your teevee and see the real thing in a window adjacent to it.

Also, food is mostly aids. Go to Adams Morgan for good eats. Also, Tryst coffeeshop. If you want ghey buttsecks, Dupont Circle is your destination.

Food is AIDS if your are poor as fuck which you probably are if you're asking about cost. In the unlikely event that you have money to toss around then there are a ton of good places to eat. Getting around is super cheap if you take the Metro and all of the museums are free. The Zoo is worth checking out if you're into animals and is also worth checking out. If you want to save some cash on hotels stay across the river in Northern VA and metro into the city for museums and whatnot.I'd suggest staying in Rosslyn, that way you just have to walk across the Key Bridge to Georgetown for food and entertainment.
