I figure people would be going there for another reason...
>> Anonymous
Obviously.

1. There are lots of people in Europe.
2. Lots of people come to Europe from outside of it.
3. France is a big country in the middle of it.

Spain is just the place where the eurotrash goes.

>Spain is just the place where the eurotrash goes.
The highest numbers of immigrants in Spain come from the UK and Germany.
>> Anonymous
Surprised UK comes that high, with our weather.

France is a great country which is loved for its culture, its history, its gastronomy, its landscapes and for the reputation of kind and lovely people frenchmen have.
France isn't just Paris.
Believe it.

are you kidding? I think number of illegal immigrants from Eastern Europe there is already exceeding national population.

There are lots of small countries in Europe and travel is relatively easy thanks to the EU. Its natural they'd have the most "international" tourists.

>reputation of kind and lovely people frenchmen have.

I've never heard anything but "fucking rude french people", and people mentioning that french people wont speak english even if they know how to.

When I was last in France I stayed at a motel during my trip, and I tried to speak in French to the woman at reception. She realised I wasn't doing too well and she took over the conversation in English. I was grateful.

I have been to France four times: Brittany, Normandy, Alps (Chamonix) and the Ardeche. From my experience I must disagree with the perception of French people being rude.

Are you British?

Virtually every French person knows how to speak English. FACT.

Virtually every French person pretends they don't. FACT.

That's why at the Olympics and Eurovision and other internation events, announcers always say something and then have to repeat it again in French.

Fucking assholes. A developed, first-world country and they complain about fucking everything.

Guess France being at the top of the list puts an end to the 'MONARCHY BRINGS IN TOURISTS' myth.

That fucktarded Queen should release all the great works of art she owns and give them to museums etc... She should have on palace and open up the rest to visitors.

all the tourists going to france are english though....

They are international. Most popular destination? Palace of Versailles.

When you go there try to have a few french phrases handy, it really helps and it shows you atleast try to absorb some of the culture. This really softens them up. And frankly it's pretty annoying to have to speak some foreign language while you're home.
So going somewhere and shouting "Y'all I want dem cheezburgers!" is not going to yield a positive response.

Also it's worth noting that while the americans have the rude, arogant french stereotype. The french have the oafish stupid savage american stereotype, so it helps being an euro.
