New York Anonymous
You're kidding me right? I mean granted it wasn't the worst place I've been, but it is severely overrated.

I'm sure we tried to tell you and you didn't listen :\

Grrr. 8.5/10. 8.5/10.

say more about how big of a failure you are than you realize.
>> Anonymous
agreed, a bit of a let down.

That picture looks like Midtown. Midtown is boring. What exactly did you do in New York? The same touristy shit? Did you try exploring off the beaten path? Did you visit any other borough but Manhattan?

Details please.

New York is the best city in the world.

NYC is the best city in the US hands down.

To be fair though, I did mainly stay in midtown for the majority of the time. I did catch the statue and a bit of exploring on the subway.

About it.

I love fiction, don't you?

the way america is going these days, New York isnt nearly as special as it used to be. Its lost much of its edge, and other cities all around have picked up more of an edge.

People who say ny is boring or overrated are a bunch of boring fucks

go clubing
go to shows
come on a holiday
go to the village
go explore

I take back my previous comment. You failed at NYC.

OP's travelguide was a troll to rival our own and he ended up in jersey.
>> Anonymous
should've gone to SF instead instead. or hell, even chicago. .

Its a great city but calling it the greatest in the world is a bit of a stretch. Its really pointless anyway since its subjective and you can't really get an idea of what its like in every city in the world to make that decision. Personally for me the bigger the city the better so NYC is certainly up there with Tokyo, London, Paris etc.
>> Anonymous
Everything you can do in NY, you can do in every other big city. There's nothing special about it. There's nothing special about any other city either.

try getting around without a car in Houston or LA?

But what city would a boring fuck enjoy better than NY, we got tons of awesome museums and monuments etc.

NY has a ton to offer besides stuff cool people do

See the Statue of Liberty, go to a Broadway show, go to the the Guggenheim,, watch the Yankees play, watch the Rangers play, watch the Knicks play, buy beer at anytime of the day

Paris, Tokyo, Barcelona, Shanghai, Rome...there are plenty of cities cooler than NYC out there. A lot cleaner too.

Goddamn, why don't we take better care of our cities like every other first rate country?

My 70 year old grandmother has beer with her lunch you guys aren't that special.
>> Anonymous
Midtown sucks, you shouldn't spend more than a day in midtown, then perhaps a day up around central park/5th ave. After that it's time to see the real New York.

>>76485
Alright...way to pick the most boring crap available in New York.

>>76462
Every city is different you imbecile. Had you actually been anywhere this would be quite obvious.

>>76471
Well in this case I'd say Houston and LA are the exception, not NY. Most large cities in developed countries around the world have decent transit systems, even most US cities have better transit than Houston and LA.

>>76461
This. Unless we are comparing something quantifiable there is no such thing as "best". There is something best suited to every individual (i.e. a "favourite"), but no universal best, such as in the case of a "best city". And I fucking hate those grandiose statements that "x location sucks/rocks". To anyone that does that: fuck you.

In my opinion, if a traveler dislikes a city, it's a sign of him being a bad traveler, not the city being a bad place.

This is kinda true, as with OP, he simply didn't bother to get to know the city well enough, just sticking to the usual shit that he probably should have known he wouldn't have liked beforehand anyway.

However, it is just as possible for someone to thoroughly know and understand a city and still not like it. Not every city is suited to everyone's tastes.

So you saw the Statue of Liberty and went on the subway?
You were probably alone the whole time too...no wonder you had a shitty time.
