Well, there's a lot to visit, the problem is most of the best places are very far from each other.

If you head north-east, you have the Iguazu Falls, shared with Brazil, with sub-tropical climate and some great national parks. The waterfalls are *really* impressive, but I've been there and there's not much more to do, it's a small town.

If you head center or north-east, you have mountains and beautiful cities like Cordoba, Rosario, Tucuman or Salta. It's great for backpacking, you also have cool national parks like the "valley of the moon" (a desert formation that feels like a moon valley) or "talampaya" (think of the grand canyon, only smaller)

If you head south (personally I recommend this), you have small cool cities like Puerto Madryn, where you can see whales up close with a boat tour and other wildlife, as well as Bariloche and El Calafate, which are close to huge glaciers like the Perito Moreno. This is mountain territory with huge pine forests, snow and sky resorts. I think it's the best area for trekking, rock climbing, camping. It's quite cold though, even in summer, so have that in mind. The campings and mountain lodges are *full* of young people during the summer, local and foreign tourists, so there's a good chance to make some friends (read: sex) there.

For the nightlife, stick to either Buenos Aires or Bariloche. No other city can top the nightclubs in those.
