I went there in September for four days and it was already getting a bit nippy, so probably something warm. There's some botanical gardens or some other touristy stuff, but what I like to do is just walk around the city and hang out with random people. Everyone there is super nice and the women are extra friendly. Riding the subway is always a quick way to find new friends and the subway system is fairly easy to figure out even if you don't speak French. You'll meet a lot of people if you hang around McGill. Just do something like go to Tim Horton's in midtown at 1AM for coffee and see who you meet.
Chinatown has some great things for being really small. You can change your currency there without paying a fee. There's a place on the second story of one of the buildings that does dim sum. You have to get 8-10 people to go with you on Sunday and you all can get stuffed stupid for like $10. Make sure the retards in your group know how dim sum works and not grab anything the server offers them, but to pick the things they actually like. Get there early, because there's a line out the door, down the hall, etc. There's also another buffet in the middle of Chinatown that's $6 or something for excellent, traditional Chinese lunch items. If you're looking for trinkets, a Malaysian guy there has really nice handcrafts for the cheap and you can talk with him about his travels too.
tl;dr Montreal is fucking awesome. Also, pic related.
