So /trv/ I went down to Jacksonville Florida to pick out an apartment for my first year of Law School. It was a pretty decent price, only 500 for 700 square feet and in a low crime area.

Problem is, the whole city seems to suck balls. It's either really poor or boring as fuck. Is there some semblance of civilization in this southern city or should I give up now and kill myself?

Orlando or Miami

Most active cities in Florida IMO

Well, I'm going to be living in Jacksonville, so it's not like I can drive 150 miles every weekend to go to Orlando. I'm going to be a busy and poor law student.

Is there anything in Jacksonville?

nope, nothing but rednecks

You can watch the Jags lose.

You can come up a bit and enter Alabama.

You will suddenly feel your Jacksonville is paradise for a couple months...

It didn't really seem too rednecky. I'm from Central Indiana (standard Midwestern accent area) and most people didn't really have much of an accent to me down there.

It was sorta like a fusion between my own Midwestern accent and some of the vocabulary from the south with "y'all" and the like.

People are way too fucking friendly though. I hate how people you don't fucking know will wave at your or nod as you go past. They're soo friendly it's kinda rude.

Jaxfag here.

Depends entirely on what your idea of a good time is. I'm not "redneck" or "country" by any stretch of the imagination, but I also admittedly spend most of my time at parties or watching movies or some shit.

I can start listing bars or restaurants or something if you want, but I'm most familiar with the Beaches area and the East part of town.

That's the only real problem I have with Jacksonville, it's too fucking big. =/
