Hey /trv/, which language is manlier to learn? Russian or German?

I speak both and I'd say Russian is a wee bit manlier, but not much. I'd pick up German if you plan on spending time in Europe, otherwise Russian.

>>27060again: The Russian society is a lot more patriarchal than the German. You'd be disappointed to learn a manly language like German while Germany gets more and more feminized.
Also: Putin.
Also: Vodka.

If you learn Russian, you're alos a good step ahead in learning other Slavic languages. You can't really say that with German.

I'd say Russian.

Slavic people will just hate you when you try to complement their language with Russian vocabulary. Trust me on this one.
Besides many people still learn German as a second or third language so thats not really an argument.

While I agree with this, what he said is basically true.
To give you perspective it's a bit like learning Spanish and then Italian or vice versa.

russian is a bitch to learn

Truer words were never spoken. Russian is however probably the manliest language out there. Someone could say "greetings, mate, how was your day" in Russian, and I'd probably shit my pants and give him my wallet, while a German can say it, and I'd probably just tell him to calm down.

-while a German can say it, and I'd probably just tell him to calm down.-

thats becuase you are anglo saxons . russian doesnt work like that on other slavs . we find russian rather jolly .
also german is easier to learn same gramatics as in all anglo-saxon and roman languages . slavic langagues are way way harder ,not as hard as the ugro-finish ones , but still hard.

As a Pole I can say that Czech sounds like little children talking (every other word has a form that to the Polish ear sounds like it is in the diminutive) while Russian is rather... "siryozy" (that's Russian btw, not Polish) and imposing.

Russian is going to be more difficult to learn than German.

The Defense Language Institute rates German at a level 2 in terms of difficulty, and Russian at a level 3.
In all honesty, if you're going just pick a language at random, you should pick one that's going to be more beneficial to you.

Chinese and Arabic would probably be the highest on the 'list of languages people are desperately going to need translators for in the next 5-20 years'.

True

It depends on what you speak now... I'm assuming you speak english.. .so learn German, but learn the east german dialect.... when spoken correctly it sound menacing.

Russian, no really. All those germanic languages make you sound like a fag from a bad porn flick. Aside from that, Russian is much harder to learn from an English point of view, so if you're a man, you'll learn 2da russian.
>> Chaos God
Real men speak in tongues! Russian is for pussy drunks with no morals. German is for fags in leather that want to be hardcore while some girl pisses on them while they cry. When the snake venom hits your vein, the language of a thousand demons will pour forth from one of seven mouths!

French is for euro surrender monkeys hiding from the rioting Muslim rape gangs in Paris.
