Change sparkplugs and oil & you'll get a little better gas mileage, oh and air up your tires (thx Obama). Make sure your belts aren't getting ready to break. Same with radiator/heater hoses. Bring a gallon of water in case you lose a hose, and as much oil as you think you may need, drinks and food for a day or two, oh and two cans of FixaFlat. I'd bring a gun, but I always do when traveling. If not, a lg knife. Bring your camera and cell phone w/ car chargers if you can. If you don't have a car charger for your cell just travel w/ it turned off. You can turn it on and check your messages, also I've noticed when I'm out of service range my battery runs down faster. I guess because it keeps sending out signals to try and get on the network.
