West Highland Way.

Anyone ever walked it? Is it worth it?

Depends, it's a bit too civilized and "normal" daytrip tourists get to where you will be. It becomes crowded at times. The way goes along streets and crosses them frequently. Just look at a map and you see what you get into. Scotland is beautiful and it's worth the trip, but it feels like hiking deluxe.

NO

Fucking midges everywhere and fat English tourists

Walking it in July, combined with a couple Ben Nevis ascents and then continuing on to Inverness via the Great Glen Way. Fat English tourists or not, it's a beautiful part of Scotland and hopefully the midges will eat all of them and leave me to enjoy/photograph the scenery.

Hillwalking in Scotland is an incredibly rewarding thing to do and the West Highland Way is exemplar. Do it.
