Hey folks of /trv/! Any Vegas locals or frequent visitors around here that can suggest some interesting activities outside of the Strip/Glitter Gulch (or things that don't FEEL particularly touristy)? The party I'm with, unfortunately, is only interested in baking by the pool and watching re-runs of To Catch A Predator.

I was looking into hiking at Red Rock and perhaps the Atomic Testing Museum. Any good? Worth the cost of admission?

Hike to the top of Frenchman Mountain for the best view of vegas but this is a very intense hike so if you are in horrible shape you might want to try something else. It doesn't take to long but it is insanely steep. There is an unpaved access road that goes all the way to the top.

Valley of Fire, Red Rock, Mt. Charleston, Lake Mead are all within an hour or so drive of Las Vegas.
