Tokyo Budget Accomodation Rick
Hello 4channers,

Where is a good budget place to stay in Tokyo, maybe around Shimbashi near Tokyo Big Sight? I need a place near the Metro so I can easily go around Tokyo

Budget not more than $150 for two people

Sakura Hostel.

I stayed with a group there for 3 weeks and it was only a little over $700 dollars. It's an amazing place, and it's in Asakusa (a more traditional area of Tokyo) which is full of stuff to do, and only a 5 or so minute walk from the train station (which is Tokyo Metro). It was a great place to stay.
Plus, it's right behind Kaminarimon, which is a HUUUUUGE place, even for Japanese people, to come and visit. It's awesome.

I recently went to Japan, and in the Shinjuku area of Tokyo, we stayed in the Star Tokyo Hotel, and it was pretty decent, and had free breakfast as well, which was good, seeing that the hotel was faily well priced as well.

I can vouch for Andon Ryokan.
It's a little out there, northwest of Asakusa, but it's only a few blocks from a metro station. But it's cheap: 8190 yen for two people a night. The accomodations are small and basic but nice, with really comfy futon, and cool archetecture--traditional Japanese done modern. They serve breakfast for cheap (like 300-500 yen for a hot meal cooked to order), and have free coffee. Its perfect if you're the type to be out all day and use your hotel as a place to sleep and recharge. If you're the kind of person who spends a lot of time in your hotel room, I might go somewhere else though.

If you're willing to stay in a hostel, Ueno has some attractive options near the station.

What do you think of Katsutaro Ryokan in Ueno?

make a profile on couchsurfing.com and ask someone to let you crash at their place. It's like facebook for travelers, and most people are chill and will hook you up in their hometown.
