I'm thinkin about a trip to Japan at july. 1 - 3 weeks. But i heard you guys dont speak english and like to kick our gaijin's balls...

It's very safe and easy out there. Me and my friends went last summer not really knowing shit about the real country, just being weeaboos. We stayed for three weeks and I personally had literally no trouble at all, with anything.

If there's anything I'd warn you against it's the taxis. Don't expect to get where you want to go unless you have the exact place written down in Japanese so you can show the cab driver. Probably the biggest fuckup of the trip was when one of my friends tried to get to the hotel we were staying at by cab, piss drunk. He found out that even if they don't know where they're supposed to take you, they'll just drive you a few blocks and drop you off (or so he said anyway).

But basicly unless you're utterly retarded you should be fine.

Enjoy your hot weather. Head for some resort location like the rest of the Japanese population.

How hot does it get? Because if 80's fareinheit is considered a heat wave then I'm fine.

It feels like a million degrees and Japanese humidity is some of the worse there is.

The humidity will make your skin dry and bleed like a motherfucker. Bring some sun tan or some other protection if you go out a lot

On the other hand, Coca Cola is 150 yen for a half a litre bottle.

Wait what? I don't remember ever finding anything there cheaper than its American counterpart outside of stuff you pick up in an Asian market.

drinks in japan were a lot cheaper than american ones, that's for sure.

Where the fuck were you or where do you buy your drinks in the US? It was like 450 yen for a can of coke in most places. All drinks were more expensive than their US counterparts.

wat
500ml bottle of coke is 98yen at a supermarket, 147yen at a convenience store. All other soft drinks are about the same. Chu-hai will run you something like 150yen, beer maybe 250yen for a normal can.

I'm right.

July is goddamned hot. It may not reach upper 90's but damn if the humidity doesnt make you want to die. Also there are a fuckload of bugs so look the fuck out. Mosquitos will eat you alive.

Is life cheaper as a whole there? Or is it the same as in America?

Much more expensive; and July ... bad time; it's about 200% humidity

energy is more expensive
some things are more expensive (how often would you see apples for $3 each or pay $30 for a medium pizza?) but it's possible to live here for approximately the same. Depends on where you are, of course. If you're in Tokyo, rent would be more expensive than if you were in a shithole countryside area like Toyama.

The Japanese ensure retardedly high produce prices by virtue of their cumbersome distribution system and their powerful agricultural lobby. Imagine if US farmers had ten times as much influence in congress as they do now and you basically have the nightmare that is Japanese government economic policy.

Fuckin' farmers. We should kill them all and steal our food from Canada, ey?

When you are in a foreign country that doesn't speak the same language as you ALWAYS get a business card from the hotel front desk so you can give it to the cab driver.

QFT, especially in asian countries.

Nomi-hodai is your friend.

It's all you can drink. Seriously, just pay a small fee (~20) and drink and drink and drink for the rest of the night. You don't even have to tip anybody!
