I'd like to go to Japan for my gap year, but I'd love to know interesting places to see or go. I'll be taking advantage of my countries Working Holiday Visa (Canada here) so I can spend half a year in Japan.Where are the best places to stay? Location & price are concerns of mine. I want to be in the middle of it all, but don't want to spend an arm and a leg. I'm looking for an apartment to rent for 6 months. Over where I live (Niagara Falls) average rent including utilities and related is 500-600 a month for 1 bedroom apartment. This translates into approx 53,000 yen. Is this too much for an apartment?I don't really care where as long as interesting places are easy to access. How hard will it be to get a job? I don't have much work experience (I've worked part-time in retail for a couple of years, but that's it really). I don't want an office job, but something to get a little extra spending money.Picture relevant to my country.
It's not often I hear the words "gap year" in /trv/. Didn't know the younger population cared for it anymore. Good on you.
