Newark and Camden are on opposite corners of the state and have high crime rates, thus one can conclude that it's filled with crime from top to bottom.
Personally, there's nothing particularly wrong with New Jersey to visit. However, if you live here, you're probably getting tired of the high car insurance payments, property tax and tax hikes that might come in the near future.
