Hi /trv/,
I'm gunning for a overseas position in Japan (Tokyo area I believe) as a liaison for my company. However, they want someone with at least a basic knowledge of Japanese, and I don't think the 10 hirigana symbols I remember from high school is going to cut it.
Whats the best (hopefully also the easiest and quickest) way to learn some Jap?

Rosetta Stone definitely. I use it for Japanese as well and it's great. If Phelps can, anyone can.

If you're being ambitious and the pay's big, why not look for a private tutor or led courses in the local area? There's gotta be an advanced student of the language, or perhaps even an exchange student, with evenings to spare and a desperate need for money.
