Just goto Cabrammata in Sydney.

It's the same thing and you'll be a lot safer.

Ha Long Bay. It's a few hours northeast of Hanoi. It's beautiful. You can get single day trips where they drive you out, you get on a boat, go around, visit a cave, eat lunch, come back. There's also overnight excursions hwere you sleep on a boat (or they put you in a dodgy hotel) etc.

IT's pretty awesome. AT this time of year it's cloudy and foggy all the time, so it's nice but not what you'll see in pictures. Go in midsummer, and it'll be gorgeous.

What is it with you pussies? Have you people ever been ANYWHERE but your neighbouring countries?
Same as in the Laos/Cambodia thread, "wear bulletproof west" etc etc. Do you think all poor countries mean instant death because you have seen it in Rambo?
Stupid fags ruining their lives fearing dangers that don't exist. Not much for you to see in /trv/ if you fear Vietnam. Learn how to use your own judgement, not the medias.

I heard that you can go and look around the tunnels that the vietcong built during the war, apparently it's really interesting and fun.

Been to Nam a few times.
It is a very safe country compared to most in it's economic bracket.
The cities are bug nuts crazy with crowds and beggars and all that... but there is plenty to see and do. Get your clothes tailored. See war monuments. Incredible food. Pick out the live piglet you want to be BBQ'd while you wait. Sorry pig, you were cute, but it was going to happen anyway.
The country side is often beautiful. Lots of tourist routes with guides for cheap. Cool caves, lagoons, ect.
Vietnamese people realize that tourism is really one of the only ways they can get a little bit ahead in the rat race of life over there, so it's pretty tourist friendly. You tip someone a few bucks and you've fed their family for a few days.
Go buy latest lonely planet guide book, was accurate on all counts on my last visit (6 month ago)

Would people in Vietnam freak the fuck out if I walked around Hanoi dressed as an American soldier from the 1960's?

Nha Trang is really nice- I was there last summer. Nothing spectacular but it was right on the beach, really friendly, has an amusement park...

A brothel. Why care about anything else when you can get a dozen lolis for a handful of Euros?
