Learning Russian Anonymous
/mu/ i need to form a reasonable understanding of the russian language. I've heard rossetta stone works well, can i get it anywhere for free.

or if you know any other, better methods that would be great.

cheers.

Eh, Rosetta Stone is alright, I've used it for Russian actually, but I have been working with Pimsleur lately and have found it a lot more helpful for immediate speaking skills. With Rosetta Stone you'll learn basic stuff like, "The girl runs," "The boy jumps," etc., but with Pimsleur you tend to get right into the useful phrases. The programs are typically available as torrents, so you can download them online if you want.

I feel so awkward using Pimsleur though. Like, they have you repeat the same phrases like, 4x. Rosetta stone you start out learning words, then verbs and etc etc. Rosetta Stone seems to move rather slow though at the same time. I like textbooks myself.
