I've lived in America all my life, but I'm one of those people that's always longed to be in another country. All countries have their problems, and I know that. But I have a lot of personal reasons for hating it here, ranging from my single mother being fucked over from the government while my father gets off for free to the way it takes 7.-something% of my pay every week for social security and continues to do so despite telling me to my face there won't be a social security when I retire.
I save a good $4-5,000/year in a 401k and an additional $3,000/year in another mutual fund (I'm just 22) but it's hard as hell to save enough to move away. Even my inheritance is going to be taxed so damn far I won't be able to afford the taxes (lol at not being able to afford something being given to you).
So any way, I don't feel at home in America :|. But it's doing much to prevent me from moving. And I'd love to travel around the world and find some other place to retire to, but with nice out of the way places like Ireland or Australia costing $2,000/person to visit for a week, that's a lot of money I could be saving to just move. .
/trv/ where do you think I should go? Any of you make an America-to-somewhere else move?
