I'll be working in eastern France for 7 months, somewhere in the area around Nancy and Metz. Do any of you fellow travells have experience with that region and can tell me a few things about it?By the way, I originally wanted to go to the South of France, to the area around Montpellier, but now I was sent to eastern France. Would you say that's a major bummer or is it better than the South anyways?
The cities of eastern France looks like Germany cities but don't tell them they are germansPlus it's near to Strasbourg, great city with a beautiful Christmas marketBut the south is better I love Montpellier, good weather, sea etc...
where are you from ?
I'm actually from Germany.
I'm studying in southern France in Aix en Provence near Marseille. Been to Strabourg once on a trip. It was nice but felt more like Germany to me with their northern European style houses and culture in general. I believe a lot of them know some German.
do you speak french
I do speak French quite fluently.
frenchfag from lille herethe region you are going to is kind of boring and underdevelopped one(the whole north east is except for its big cities)...hope you'll get to visit the rest of the country
Well but actually it's not really the north east that I'm going to but the east. Some people I know are also going to the area around Lille, I thought there would be quite a difference between that and the area around Nancy and Metz.By the way, I'll be working as a German teacher. I heard that the pupils in northern France are more willing to learn German than those in the south cause it actually matters to them due to the proximity to Germany.
>>28808Yes but expect you to have a lot of Tokio Hotel fans in your class, a lot of pupuils take german because of that... good or bad it's a fact
I know that already. But isn't that a phenomena in all of France and not just the east?
