I want to go to South-east Asia but i'm a pussy when it comes to spiders, and i've seen some huge motherfuckers browsing pictures.

If you've been over 'dere, did you see any big ones? I'm tempted to just go to Japan and deal with their fucken cockroaches.

I lived in Bangkok for half my life. There are hardly any spiders (big ones anyways), though there are tons of roaches everywhere. Also mosquitoes, fuck those little shits.

Didn't see much insects in Thailand.

There are spiders everywhere. Granted, Japan doesn't have *poisonous* ones. (Although you may want to be careful because there are reports that the red-back spider hitched a ride to Osaka from Australia.)

I didn't see large spiders in Thailand --- I was actually more worried about the scorpions, the geckos, and the garden snakes.

As for the Philippines, they definitely have them. I remember kids catching them and putting them inside matchboxes. Spider-fighting or whatever they call is a popular (sick) sport. :/

I was bitten by something while in Hong Kong. Saw two bite marks between the top part of my hand and wrist. It swelled up to the size of a baseball. And surprise, Chinese ointment was used to medicate it.

I went 2 months in the phils not long ago
and that's the only time I saw spider
and they were as big as the spider here in europe
so no worries if you stay on the beach/city
(spider fighting is funny also)

but then I hope you're not afraid of cockroach
they are fucking huge there
and during my stay in Leyte I encounter "flying" cockroach o_o (it was during the evening, quite dark, the things fell on me and fly away, I asked what it was they just replied "ipis ipis" :-s )

i had a motherfucking cockroach climb into my shoe in Hong Kong, it was pretty embarrasing to take off the shoe and drop a dead cockroach on the shiny-clean subway station floor in front of everyone
