what's the cheapest way to constantly fly between one location and another? anybody aware of any PARTICULAR packages/deals I can get with an airlines? i'm still checking out different websites and such...

my girlfriend and I are currently separated due to some academic opportunities for about the rest of the year and a chunk of next year.

i'm in washington, and she's gonna be in california. ~1.5 hour plane trip. financially speaking we could afford a flight every 2 weeks if we schedule a bit in advance (without a package/deal). driving isn't an option.

thanks a bunch!

break up....

or if that doesn't work, try flying standby

There used to be this one package called "pass travel" where it cost something like $10 for economy and $15 for coach, standby only. I used to do it every weekend, it was awesome.

The only requirement is that you work for the airline in question. This was pre-9/11, btw. I hear things are more difficult for airline employees these days.

Another option is to join a company that has offices in both cities that requires you to shuttle back and forth.

> blahblah isn't an option

Oh, no compromises possible? You're fucked.

So a bit over a year in total? Suck it up. Visit her once, or have her visit you once and spend a few weeks together, but more than that and you're just wasting money. If your relationship is solid you have a lifetime ahead of you together, if not, than some distance will show that you aren't as loyal to each other as you thought.

I spending a year in a foreign country away from my girl, and I'll see her again in October. In the mean time there is instant messenging, e-mail, webcam and handwritten letters and postcards.
