Switzerland

Have you ever been there? If so, what did you like about it? Is it a place one would want to live in?

I wish I could go this summer

I'm living in Switzerland and i hate it...here's nothing, only mountains. A country with the population of London and the most of the people are niggers or other stupid human-like things from south-east Europe.
>> Anonymous
They have speed limits everywhere and the Police can fine you just from saying you were too fast, no further evidence needed.
Basically Switzerland is not that special.
If you know Central Europe, you know Switzerland.

those mountain towns are what interests me, they look astonishing

From my experience, people from the German-speaking canton are extremely xenophobic (also against other Eurofags), close-minded and ignorant. Fucking clanish mentality.

And that's all.

zurich is supposed to be one of the most disappointing cities in all of europe (this according to some poll).

I love how they got 29% of the vote, it's like the swiss are the only people in europe with the balls to say 'you know what, fuck immigrants'

OP, Switzerland is absolutely gorgeous if you are looking to vacation there. It is exactly what is advertised, scenic mountain towns. Of course they are very tourist-y if you go to a place like Montreaux or Zurich, but there are also a lot of smaller towns with hostels.

Also, Lucern is my favorite place in the world and I would recommend a stop there

Im half swiss half german so im there quite often

Switzerland is the most boring place in the universe. It's nice to see once, but there is no way in hell I'd live there

But... DIRECT DEMOCRACY

I love switzerland... Go to the Toggenburg region near Lichtenstein in the Canton of St. Gallen (the Toggenburg region, not Lichtenstein)

They have a really great row of mountains with nice skiing spots.

switzerland and dubai are the only places in the world where if you have a lot of money nobody ask you from where you have them

You forgot Lichtenstein... although since that scandal with the list of names of clients with secret accounts, it may not be very save for a while

Best immigration policy in the world.
As in "NO IMMIGRANTS".

More like as in, we let them work but don't give them citizenship. Fucking nazi-gold hoarders
>> Anonymous
Stay away from Switzerland. They will soon be taken over by the European Union Battlegroups. Norway goes next.

So far Gruyeres is one of my favorite places I've been two, after Thailand.
>> Anonymous
OP here, geez every country thread always ends up with "stay away from ___" unless it's japan

if you're white, couldn't you easily blend in as a non immigrant (if you speak the language(s) at native level), not that I want to move there, but curious

I know two people (who don't know each other) who are foreigners living in Switzerland. One's British and one's American, the American speaks perfect Swiss-German and the Brit gets by with near perfect (as far as I can tell) French.

Fuck all you haters, I live in Bern and I love it here more than I ever loved living in the US (in D.C.).

Aside from all the media sensationalism, we don`t hate immigrants! Fucking 20% of the population is foreign born, and we couldnt live without them.
We are a very liberal and tolerant country, especially the Canton of Bern. Weed is pretty much tolerated, there was even a weed convention here last week`!

See www.cannatrade.ch, ya dig?

Swissfag over and out.

I passed through Switzerland on a road trip from France once. Switzerland is nice, although I only visted the area around Geneva and then zipped through the eastern half towards Germany. Wished we could've stayed for at least one night in Geneva, but we were behind on our road trip schedule.

I'm working for a Hotline supporting germany, austria and switzerland(german part). In my experience the swiss poeple are very open minded and kind. The most to who I was speaking are happy, unlike the germans wich are dissatisfied with something all the time. Very different are the austrian ppl even if all three countrys are neighbours. The austrians always want to be treated like they are better and want to have the last word. Bad there is the complain department wich got a big budget ... so the most time they will get what they want.

>bern

Yeah, I went there. The fucking capitol of Switzerland is smaller than my neighborhood, and everywhere closes in like, at most 5pm - nowhere open in sunday, not to mention. It the perfect place to live, if you have the soul of a 78 years old

Bern is indeed small, but is jam-packed with awesome people and some AWESOME things to do on weekends. Aside from your usual variety of nightclubs you`re offered more offbeat attractions and concerts courtesy of the reitschule and gaskessel. It`s fucking fun as hell!

Living in the american suburbs is FUCKING BORING, with nothing to do.

The remark about closing times proves that you`re one of those people that can spend consecutive DAYS in boring, dull, soulless, american malls and shopping centers...which is pretty much the only pastime most of america offers to its youth.

Fuck that shit. You go ahead and walk around semiconsciously in brightly lit temples of pointless consumerism, i`ll be chillin here in bern smokin`a blunt with my friends and going to a kickass drum n`bass concert.

I liked Switzerland until 1971, then they started allowing women to vote, fuck that!

It's funny how you assumed me to be an American. It is indeed true that I'd rather live in Switzerland instead of America, but that's like saying having syphilis is better than having AIDS.
