Hit Melrose (don't necessarily need to buy but you'll have a blast just browsing) for a while. Hit the Grove Mall, Santa Monica Promenade, Old Town Pasadena, La Brea Tar Pits, Wilshire blvd, etc.

Not exactly in that particular order. Some of these are spread out from each other and some are very close. Then when all said and done have a great dinner at Hop Louie's in downtown. High in the ranks for best goddamn Chinese food in the states. (pictured above)

Uh...any possibility of letting us know WHAT FUCKING PART of the state you're going to so we can suggest?

So anyway, even though it's the most obvious thing to do in LA, just get lost in Hollywood, man. Aside form all the trademark tourist stuff, there are fucktons of cool places scattered about that you probably don't know about.
>> Anonymous
just dont get lost and end up in compton or you just might have to break yoself nigga
>> Anonymous
Thank you guys i will try all of this stuff, and I'll try not to get executed by an asian police officer.

Pig N Whistle restaurant, famous to locals.
Miceli's restaurant (near Pig N Whistle, absolutely great)
Hollywood Toys & Costumes. Gargantuan store of cool masks, models, costumes and strange accessories.
Amoeba once you get on Sunset blvd. then from there really just coast on up until you reach the strip. too much to write down here.

Or you could just check out the list here.

Right click to zoom in, they have a section for the howl town actually. I just focused on Hollywood, here.

FFS, no one ever suggests the beach.

Go to the fucking beach. Its free and its awesome.

Do it right. Bring some sandwiches and cold beers. Bring music. Roll a joint. And for gods sake, put some fucking sunscreen on.

If you've never been in the ocean before, talk to a lifeguard and they'll give you useful information about rip currents and unsafe spots.

As for good beaches, I go to RAT beach, just south of Torrance. You have to walk a ways to get to it, which means there aren't a lot of families or fat people. Some chicks takes their tops off there.

As for San Diego, I like Mission Beach. Holy hell, there are some good-lookin women down there.

Whatever you do, do NOT visit Fresno. This place is a total shit hole.

What... we're Raisin Capital of the World and the birthplace of Kevin Federline. Oh yeah, Fresno FTW!!

I much rather prefer Point Dume which is still in LA county, just about 10 minutes up from Malibu. Only drawback is that you go there ONLY for the beach and the beach alone. It's cut off from other stuff which is a blessing really.

Gorgeous spot.

Watts

only because I live there.

In San Diego, it's leopard shark spawning season now until probably the end of July. There is a spot called Marine room (it's a beach right in front of the Marine room restaurant) where you can go snorkling and see literally hundreds of sharks.
