American here looking to jump ship to Canada after i finish university.

How would you compare the major cities/provinces in Canada? I'm an engineer, so I figure it'd be fairly easy to find work in a major city.

Also, I really don't feel like learning french so I'm pretty sure Quebec is out.

If the reason you wish to emigrate is due to politics, you won't avoid the problem by emigrating to Canada.

He's afraid of the niggers and the spics.

Come to Vancouver. We have neither.
>> Anon of Canada
These are the comparisons:

Vancouver = San Francisco

Alberta = Texas

Saskatchewan/Manitoba = North Dakota

Toronto = New York with fewer Spics

Quebec = France, except for Montreal = Jews (they speak english btw)

Maritime Provinces = Stupid fucks who deplete their cod stocks then go "lol we depleted our fish stocks even though scientists were warning us for decades; can we have money plz?" Seriously fuck everything east of Ontario it's all gay

OP here, Vancouver and Toronto sound nice. How do the prices there compare to American cities? Is Vancouver as expensive as the Bay Area ? Toronto as expensive as NYC?
What about smaller(ish) cities like Ottawa?

Real estate/apartments in Canadian cities are much lower than US ones, but Vancouver is the most expensive. For a decent apartment you'd probably be looking at $1500 a month, $1000 in Toronto, smaller cities that aren't in Alberta will be cheaper though.

Otherwise, the cost of everything else tends to be higher in Canada, with the exception of drugs.

I should fix that: You won't find anything in Canada as expensive as the likes of New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, or Boston. Otherwise, prices are comparable. On a country-wide basis, I do believe that the median house price in Canada is higher.

asianfag here. im an engineer who wish to find work in canada after university. i don't mind learning french, since je parle un peu francais already. is quebec a good choice for me?

Ottawa is actually a pretty good place if you're looking for a smaller city (a bit more than a million). Alberta is a pretty expensive place to live, its good to but finding an affordable place to live is a bit harder. If you have decent enough French, Montreal is a great city, a lot of culture and history and its pretty billingual so you can get by on English. Every city in Canada has a different character really, just wikipedia the city and choose for yourself, Canada is actually a really diverse place, people from everywhere and its the second biggest country in the world so one city can be worlds apart from another
