No it is not. Gustav was a smaller hurricane. Ike may have winds approaching 140-150 mph. But even 100 mph winds are undriveable. I returned to work today, and heard from a coworker whose wife is a nurse that during the hurricane they brought in a guy who wrecked because he was driving at the height of the hurricane, in winds of 60-80 mph (this was somewhat inland). I thought it was funny that he was so stupid, then I found out he died. Then I thought it was hilarious. Seriously, if the storm is in your area, don't drive. Or do. Just make sure your wallet is in you pocket so they can identify your dead ass.
