Phil Ossiferz Stone Goes Back To Calaveras Big Trees Phil Ossiferz Stone !!SFRnrjTlVC6
Haven't been there since my teens. Right outside the booming metropolis of Murphys, CA., which itself is about an hour and a half drive from the San Fran Bay Area or Sacramento, either way. Felt good to see my old friends again. They're a bit taller and so am I... though I doubt I'll ever get as big as they are. Some of the big ones have branches the size of a good-sized oak tree.

This is the North Grove loop, which takes about an hour and a half to walk. I'll spare you the running patter and just let the pics speak for themselves.

Note use of hat for pathetic attempt at scale. This is a sort of *medium* sized sequoia.
