Thoughts on the country, go.

Also, thoughts on this deal, which I am very seriously considering.

The possible destinations are Bunratty, Doolin, Doonbeg, Galway, Ennis.

Anyone know anything about these places.

Would love to go there someday. My friend did grad school there and loved it.

I would like to go to Ireland. Don't they bang sheep there a lot? That sounds pretty good to me.

I'm a baaaaaaahd little boy.

I know incredibly little about Ireland even though my ancestors were nearly all Irish or British (ausfag here). Pro at drinking, they say. Apparently better economy now, too. As far as culture goes it sounds too much like every other Western country.

Better Brit than American. My god they are annoying. 7-8 of them in a couple of my courses and they are incredibly ignorant and loud, as per the stereotype. ugh. In contrast my previous girlfriend was English-Australian and I totally sympathise with the English waaaay ahead of most other nationalities. I dunno, maybe it's just me.

You heard about that too?

Also, Americans didn't lock up their food and starve them to death.

My theory is that was to promote extra colonists, which was useful to colonies like Canada/Australia plus they could make a bundle on the excessive taxation as well. The only reason you would have starved is if you didn't want to go colonist (who wouldn't? sorry, but Canada/Australia > Ireland)

I've made the short trip to Ireland twice. It's pretty fucking awesome. The people are super friendly and it has some nice sights.

You're thinking of Wales.

Mrn, there was a crop failure but the British continued taxation and restricted the food supply to keep it all under control. It also turns out the rate of emigration to British colonies was slower than preferably needed for the colonial economies. Just a theory, is all. Obviously they were bastards, all imperial powers are.

It rains. Then it stops and the sun comes out, then its cloudy and windy and cold. then it rains. Then the sun comes out while it's raining and there's a rainbow. Then the clouds come over and it's freezing cold. Then there's hail. Then the sun goes down and it rains some more. Then it's just cold for a while. Inexplicably there's a warm breeze from the south for a while. Then it rains.

I wish the weather would make up its fucking mind.
