So we're thinking about a vacation in West Virginia. Anything cool to do there?
No, no, no. Why would you even consider that place? God, New York is right nearby.
As much as I don't like Appalachia on the whole there were some cool things to do in west virginia like the National radio Observatory at green bank. Its like the radio telescope in New Mexico that was in the movie contact etc.Right down the road is New River Gorge where there is some kickass white water rafting which can be fun just to watch from the banks as you see people eat shit occasionally. There are a lot of caves with stalagmites and stalactites that you can do either guided or self guided tours (awesome I might add). There is the Greenbriar Resort with one of the largest nuclear bunkers underneath it meant to house US leaders during a nuclear war etc. There are a few natural hot springs in the area which are pretty sweet. Finally there are alot of gem mines open to the public where for a couple bucks you get to sift thorugh
West Virginia: land as pretty as the souls of it's inhabitants are ugly.
It is the most boring, backwards and hillbilly ridden state in the country. Ever watch deliverance? It's a lot like that but with garbage strewn everywhere.
OH GOD NO. Even if you a nature and outdoor type of person, there are so many other states you can go. You'll definitely lose a few IQ points should you decide to go there.
