If arriving by plane then use the MTR (metro), walk directly on then pay on exit. Will cost around 100HKD with a trip time of around 30-40 minutes in to Central HK. There isn't much to see while on the train so if you're after a scenic ~1hr journey theres always the bus @ ~40HKD.
Places to vist: Sham Shui Po Golden computer and electonrics centre, and the near by street markets. Mong Kok market. The Peak @ 8pm for the view of HK and the daily cross harbour laser show. The view of Hong Kong from Causeway bay harbour.
If OP is male: Wan Chai for the 'red light' district. Almost every girl you meet here will be a Filipino and a working girl: Do not accept nor drink anything they offer, guard you're own - even when alone in the hotel. There are countless stories of Westerners being robbed by the girl they picked up after returning to the/a hotel. Just a few months back one was accidentally killed by whatever she put in his drink. So, moral of the story is: don't fall asleep and don't accept or leave your drink outside of eye view. Lan Kwi Fong (LKF) is the upmarket bar and club area. This is where the pretty Chinese girls hang out, mostly looking for you. If you're unable to pull here then.. you're hopeless.
Sunday's is a holiday for the Filipino maids of which there are millions. If you're there on a Sunday then you'll find walking almost impossible without tripping over one.
Don't order ice with your drink (it's dirty tap water), anywhere. If they do deliver ice then reject the drink. I only have hot drinks, even in this weather, when out.
Trams cost 2HKD, enter at rear, pay and exit at front.
Minimum Taxi fair is 15HKD, which is soon to be 16.
Like the other poster stated: Unless you love curry avoid TST.
