Travel insurance,

Is it really needed? I plan to travel to Hong Kong then onto London a few months later to work/live. Everywhere I seem read states that if I get in some medical trouble I'll end up bankrupt without travel insurance, but the $500-600 is alot of money for the coverage?

i'm travelling soon and took it. my travel agents don't sell you flight tickets unless you take it.
it's worth it.

$500? What the shit? I have annual travel insurance for £50~ from Aviva (not the energy company). Yes it's worth it, as you never know what's going to happen but god damn.

I think Anonymous meant, well, the coverage of the insurance. Not the fee.

The truism is that if you can't afford travel insurance, you can't afford to travel.
