Finally /trv/ is loading for me. What's the absolute cheapest amount of money it's possible to spend on a one-way plane ticket to Japan? What is a good resource to go to find such tickets?

Sorry, Japan have closed the borders, to many japanophile humping their schoolgirls.

use www.kayak.com
I found some hella cheapo tickets @ ~$750 when I just did a quick search. Keep in mind though that these tickets usually have at least 2 stops + long ass layover (ex: I put in departure date of Feb.28, I'd arrive March 2nd). But if you're looking for absolute cheapest route, that'd be the way to go.

Japan won't let you in with a one way ticket unless you have a working visa (good luck).

I got in very easily actually with a one-way ticket. Then again I was wearing a suit and I spoke japanese to the customs attendants. There were no questions asked, beyond the cute customs girl wondering what I was doing, to which I simply explained I'd be having a nice long vacation.

You shouldn't have any problems if youre from the US or (major) EU and you look presentable. If you want a cover story tell them you are in town to give a business proposition and depending on whether or not your client accepts or declines, you are not sure when you will be leaving. Be sure to have the right info, etc.

Good luck.
