Hobo traveling.

I've read about a guy named Heinz Stücke and I want to do the same thing he did - travel the world on a bike.

Setting off from Riga (Latvia) next year.
The racist behavior towards Russians is intolerable.

Planning to ride through Russia to the East. First stop - Mongolia. I've also always wanted to see Tibet.

What would you suggest to take/which skills to have?
Also, what is the best way to earn some quick money, besides stealing and robbing?

Sounds like an awesome but grueling idea. All I can think of are some obvious things, like make sure you know Russian (I've heard pretty much no one in the east speaks English), keep a detailed map with you at all times, bring more than enough money (i assume you'll be staying at hotels and such along the way? might get expensive) and keep water/energy snacks on you at all times because the worst thing in the world would be running out of energy on some long empty road in the middle of Siberia.

No, I plan on sleeping in a tent.
And I don't have much money either. That's why I was asking about how to make money.
I've attended a 1 year course of general massage, you think they hire part-time masseurs?

In Siberia? Doesn't it go below 0 even in the summer in some parts of Siberia?

poke your eyes out, screw the bike and buy some sandals. Insist to get paid in warm sake instead of money.

Get some basic hunting, survival skills, it may help you in the open, i dont know if carrying a knife would be a problem, one with multiple tools would be helpful. Knowing some basic first aids might be helpful too.

That bike may be good for downhill.
You are going to cruise many many miles.
What you want in a bike is:
-Lightweight
-Sturdyness
-Simplicity

Forget the springs, get a simple frame.
Get a long distance bike, not some mountain monster.
It should be light, light, light and roll, roll, roll.
After 5000 miles you will curse every pound too much.

Read a book on wilderness survival. This can help you find free water, food, and stay alive while using a tent. So take matches, first aid, and water purification tablets. Learn to cook; then you can make food over a fire and avoid eating in seedy restaurants. Nasty worms and bacteria can be kept away if you're eating food that you're comfortable with. Unless you're going to be staying in one place for a long time, you won't want to have the shits and be bleeding out your ass on a bike.

You might have to whore yourself. Thievery is good; perhaps you could try manual labor by explaining to people that you need money, then do menial chores for them.

You might want to get a knife or weapon to take with legally (or if you can buy one in a back alley) because you're not going to be safe under the standard of law; police will imprison you and will hold you indefinitely without reason simply because you are a vagrant in essence.

Shy away from public places, people are xenophobic. Try not to beg for food or money.

Also, people will attack, rob, and take advantage of you. Try to find people you can trust and stay on their property, not on the side of roads where police will harass you.

I think it would be fine, in many states and some countries you can carry them safely because theyre classified as a tool or something like that.
