Money isn’t money in North Korea. You can only buy KPW 2.16 (Kim Jong-Il’s birthday) for USD 1, but it takes over KPW 1,000 to get your greenback back. It’s like the black money situation in Zimbabwe and Mainland China.

But in the absence of a time machine to take people back to the dilapidation and economic plight of 1960’s Russia (as shown in the picture), you might be interested.

that`s exactly what i thought, it looks a bit like a ghost city, as if 60`s russia was left there standing, untouched and uninhabited for 40 years

I plan on doing the tour in about two years. I was recently in beijing and visited the pyongyang art studio there.. got a load of translated north korean propaganda and im really geared up to go now.
