Hey /trv/,

In about a month I'll be flying out of the US to Greece. I have a layover in Amsterdam going there, and Dusseldorf on the way back. I've never flown outside of the US before, and I'm unsure of what to expect of the airports. Are there any big differences between these airports and American ones I should look out for? Are they easy to navigate? Thanks.

Schiphol is pretty old, it was founded in 1919. So they kept adding on stuff throughout the years, which made the layout very illogical. However, the signage is pure win. So much so, in fact, that other airports have copied the signs to use as their own.

But in the end, who cares, it's still an airport and they're all the same.

Amsterdam's airport was pretty easy for me to get around in and understand. It was really nice too, I think they had an art museum in it or something.

The other strange thing is that people walk around smoking. I don't have anything against smoking, it was just wierd for me as a NYfag.

European airports are pretty much like any other airport you've ever been to.

Although the airport in Frankfurt is more of a shopping mall/ pub district then an airport. Also, you can smoke almost everywhere there.

Dunno about Amsterdam but I stopped at a German airport on my way to Italy a little while back and it seemed as though no one wore any deoderant.
