I need to get from Bucharest to London without exceeding 70 pounds. How do I do that ? The ferry from Calais to Dover is about 12 pounds so its good. But how do I get from Bucharest to Calais ?!

When I was in eastern europe, most of the flights were about 40 quid. Don't know about bucharest though - maybe a train to another major center, then have a look at ezyjet or another discount carrier.

Hitchhiking is an option.

Flights from Budapest are quite cheap (£50ish), as is many hubs in the area - Krakow, Berlin, etc. If you can get to one of these, than your set.

Trains are ridiculously cheap in eastern europe, especially if your willing to travel on local, slower trains with more transfers. Unfortunately, it helps if you speak the language, as you need to book individual tickets, rather than the catch all ones we get in UK.
