Hey /trv/,

I'll be taking a 33 hour road trip to Utah. moving there soon.

What should i know about traveling across the US? is it dangerous? is it hard to do (i mean mountain passes bridges etc).

what should i do to my car to get it ready and to make sure it can last throughout the entire trip?

thanks a bunch :)

Mountain passes and bridges aren't dangerous. Just watch out for semi-trucks and you'll be fine.

Change sparkplugs and oil & you'll get a little better gas mileage, oh and air up your tires (thx Obama). Make sure your belts aren't getting ready to break. Same with radiator/heater hoses. Bring a gallon of water in case you lose a hose, and as much oil as you think you may need, drinks and food for a day or two, oh and two cans of FixaFlat. I'd bring a gun, but I always do when traveling. If not, a lg knife. Bring your camera and cell phone w/ car chargers if you can. If you don't have a car charger for your cell just travel w/ it turned off. You can turn it on and check your messages, also I've noticed when I'm out of service range my battery runs down faster. I guess because it keeps sending out signals to try and get on the network.

Wow... mountain passes? You want to see real mountain passes take a good ol' drive up to the great white north and hit the alberta-BC border. Man that'll make you shit bricks.
