I want to study abroad somewhere next year. What's a student-friendly place that would be interesting to visit?

DO NOT go to Italy. It is a fucking cliche. plus one of the girls who was rooming with the British chick that got killed a few months back went to my high school...so every time i go home it dominates gossip.

Barcelona definitely has a lot of students from everywhere.

You should watch the movie L'Auberge Espagnole. It's a movie in French, Spanish, and Catalan that takes places in Barcelona and is all about a student's experience in moving from France to Barcelona for school. One of my favorite movies ever.

it was fucking weird reading shit in the BBC when you know the person it is talking about is real. i didn't know her, really, but i went to a catholic school with a population of 650, so everyone is acquainted...

That and I went to some study abroad pitch at my college and the girl who went to Italy was a total ditz...and then somebody had a seizure during the middle of her presentation and she got spooked and it was hella funny watching her try to continue while talking over the sounds of somebody having a siezure.

And, i am pissed that Italy won the Worl Cup last year.

And, I have nothing but disdain for the military of Italy...

so basically, i am extremely biased against the country in general, and the local shitstorm over the death of the british girl was icing on the cake.
