Anyone been? It's the one place in europe i'm going that I don't really know anything about, other than i'm going to get a big pint of beer.

What else is there to do?

I been to Munchen, its nice there. The locals are much nicer then the assholes in Hessens, and alot less fucking turks.

Yeah check out all the old stuff there, I remember this tall medieval tower you can go to.
You got to climb the stairs all the way to the top, its worth it for the view.

other than the oktoberfest, theres really nothing to watch except churches, the opera summer festival and the nymphenburg palace

The Germany cities up north are my favorite. Hamburg is an awesome city, just because every citizen on the street is at least a little drunk, so they are pretty friendly.

It also has some evil-looking black cathedral in the middle of town. Wish i has a picture.

Having rown up in Munich, i can assure you there's more to see than churches and the Oktoberfest.

Munic has plenty of world-class museums, a thriving night life, amazing istoric sights and lots of castles, forests, lakes and mountains just outside the city.

Munich is definetly worth a visit.

munich has been on my list for a while. but which has the better subway system, berlin or munich?

Definetly Munich. Berlin's subway is old, dirty and full of beggars.

The first thing you will notice in Munich is how clean everything is.

don't compare berlin to munich. if you have money and like everything nice and clean go to munich, if you actually want to experience life and people, go to berlin or hamburg.

dirty and old vs. clean and new? ill take dirty and old, plz. i understand that it's probably 100000% better if youre LIVING there, but if i'm just visiting i like my subways hot, greasy, dirty, loud, sweaty, nasty, and hopelessly out-of-date. like new york. and philadelphia.

Munich has one of the best public transportationsystem worldwide. I remember a world ranking where it scored 3rd after Tokyo and another Japanese city I can't remember.

There are a lot of sights in Munich, not only Churches.
The Ludwig-Maximilian University for example. In Downtown Munich you can experience traditional Bavarian and modern lifestyle.
The Beerbreweries are worth a visit too. The Augustiner Bräu is an old monastery brewery and very interesting.
You can visit castle Nymphenberg or if you like some newer architecture, visit the Allianz-Arena Footballstadium.
If you want to relax you can go to a beergarden in the english garden or the Olympic Center.
For museums a must go is the "Deutsche Museum". It's a museum of technology with Airplanes of WW2 or even a submarine.
BMW has it's production facility and somekind of BMW museum.
The Nighlife is one of the best in europe.

Munich is a nice, but very expensive city.

Munich is perhaps the most expensive city in Germany. Be prepared for that.

To live, yes. To visit, certainly not.

Munich's Germany's best city apart from maybe Hamburg. Don't ever go to Berlin, that's just another hyped hipster shithole.

munich sucks, you should go somewhere else!
all of germany hates bavaria, especially munich,
for good reasons... :)
