So about a month ago when I was in Ireland for a few weeks, I got pulled over by a police mainly because I ran a red light on the roundabout(rotaries) on my rental. Which was odd cause I've never heard of stoplights being inside the roundabouts. So he told me about it, and how I almost caused an accident and whatnot, so I was like ok sorry, blah blah never knew about that whatever took down my info and let me go. So a few weeks ago I get the ticket in the mail.

I paid the ticket anyways since it was only 80 euros, so I kinda expected it.

Now I'm wondering, will the ticket go on record here in the states? The ticket mentions something about losing a few points if I was over there, but will it affect me here back in the states? I've heard if you don't pay it, you're basically banned from going back there again, or they send you a debt collector whatever.

Couldn't find much info, but was wondering if there were any consequences.

Hm. Very interesting, but personally I doubt it. Talk to an insurance agent, they'd probably know. Not your insurance agent, though, because if I were them I'd say "yep, that means you gotta pay our "Ran a weird stop sign in Ireland 1000 dollar a month" fee. I doubt they'll receive wind of it stateside. I mean, FBI has trouble tracking down international drug lords, what are the chances they will find out about your ticket?

I'm pretty sure the consulate knows about it, but I doubt they'd care enough to tell the DMV.

I dunno. I worked for the US government overseas and they made sure you paid any fines you earned there.

For you, I don't think so. I'd pay it anyways. The Europeans are hard gay about their laws, and might complain and the US Treasury might take it from your tax refund or something silly.

In otherwords, I have no idea.

You will be put under surveillance by the NSA for visiting a terrorist nation.

But they won't do anything because they're good terrorists, its just a token gesture for all the whiney retards who bitch about only caring about muslims

You didn't have to pay it. Is troll?

Fail for paying for the ticket.

If you get a ticket in a foreign country just say you don't have any money with you atm.

They can't do shit. Can't charge you in the US for a ticket in Ireland. Don't pay for it and it will just expire. That's it.

Let alone record it. They can't enforce you to pay for the ticket and even less than that can they apply something to your record in the US.

Complete fail.
