I'll be working as a teacher in eastern France for seven months. Can I actually look forward to that or is it going to be awful?

Not east enough for Elsac. Is it Lorraine?

Anyway. Get drunk on wine a lot.

Theres alot of gypsies there. Strassbourg is a awesome city though.

That part of the country used to belong to Germany on and off forever. Lots of German influence there, but its still very French.

French people are not that bad, they just hate loud foriegners yelling on the streets and babbling away in lauguages they don't like. They have a sense of humor, least more so then Germans, and are usually less drunk then Germans, which can be good or bad depending on how much of a lush/prude you are.

Uh, Paris is a whole nother shithole then the rest of France. Rural france is a very cool place, totally different people there.

You should look forward to it.

It's Lorraine. I don't know the exact place yet, but it's going to be in the area around Nancy and Metz (maybe even in those cities).

Staying the hell away from Paris is a good idea, confirm/deny?

Metz is a pretty nice city.

A bit boring, though.

If you have the opportunity, take an entire afternoon to visit the Place Stanislas and the Parc de la Pépiniere at Nancy. But apart from thoses, Nancy's a pretty dull place.

The Vosges Moutains nearby are a nice place for light trekking during summer.

You're not that far from Champagne, maybe you'll be able to visit some caves.

And don't bother going to Paris. Too much stress, too many cars, too much noise, and life's _horribly_ expensive

I've been two Paris twice, so I probably won't go there again during my stay in Lorraine. I wanted to go to Southern France by train, but most important, I wanted to know whether Lorraine is a good area to live.

Confirm. Maybe visit it once. Paris is nothing like the rest of France. Its mostly full of faggots and the dredges of society. Full of muslims, ect.

There isn't any real reason to go there. Everything is expensive, and the city smells like cat piss and rotten eggs for some reason.

I agree, the people really are cunts. Vain, rude, arrogant niggers. Actually, come to think of it, I stayed in the nigger district and the niggers were a lot cooler than the yuppies. Odd.

Play World War 2 Online. You can fight in the surrounding areas of where you're staying.

The Weather is awful, but then again, as an englishman it might even come as an improvement to you.

what are you teaching/how did you get the position/where are you coming from?

I went to Sorbonne and stayed there for 2 years. The african immigrants/french blacks are actually pretty cool. They really aren't like this niggers over here at all. I hung out at their clubs and stuff and it made a few really good friends. The muslims however, dude, seriously don't go anywhere near them. Not all are bad, but a lot are. They are kind of like the niggers of France. Scourge of society.

Eastern France is the most boring of all the Frances. I used to have to go to Brittany a lot. Really weird, backward place. Southern France is the best.

OP again here. I'm actually German and therefore I'll be teaching German there. I originally wanted to go to Southern France (Montpellier), but they put me into Lorraine. Now that was a huge disppointment in the first place, so now I'm looking for reasons why going to Lorraine is cool too.

I can't help but find that a bit funny.

Hi fellow anon. I am from Lorraine (Thionville) and it's not exactly the most exciting place in France. If you have to go there try to secure a job in Nancy, it's the liveliest place. Metz is a relatively distant second but you can easily go to Luxembourg by train (dirt cheap in France) from there.

Q: Why are the streets in France adorned with trees?

A: So the Germans can invade in the shade.

HAHA oh wow!
