Due to upcoming war in Europe I was concerned about emigrating to Fiji. What should I know about it. Is there any chance for a white male with a degree to get work and afford living there?

pic somewhat related

50 per cent of the populace is Indian

Don't touch the pretty stones in the water, they are stonefish, and they will ruin your fucking year

Do you realise that Fiji suffers/enjoy high political volatility

Gen. Bainimaramalamananadingdong(SP) is pretty responsible

When I was there (age 4 to 6) Steve Rambuka was doing his man-of-steel thing without any unrest. The white expats get invited to Government House for the occasional function, etc. So the disconnect between politics and daily life in the country is lulzy

I have also wanted to pack everything up and move to Fiji. I am in the U.S. Bump for answers!

a lot of the micronations in the southern pacific seem like picturesque and perfect places to live, but actually many have lots of problems.

For example,

Lack of fresh water sources. Many islands rely on collection of rain water.

Political unstability. The recent democracy riots in Tonga are good example.

Global warming. The Micronesian and Polynesian countries are very impatient when it comes to climate control because many of their islands will be submerged underwater due to rising sea levels

And high prices for the tourists. Many of the island nations are very small and have to import a lot of their modern goods, which makes things pricey for travellers.

But obviously they're probably one of the most beautiful places on earth, and a great place for relaxing and scuba diving (except for the numerous big sharks).

Why not move to Hawaii? It'll become an independent kingdom when World War III breaks out, it's got the island beauty you're looking for, but at the same time it's a civilized country; I.E. you can buy a TV without bartering.

I'd strongly recommend moving to places that won't be targeted by nuclear weapons, or be susceptible to large amounts of fallout.

I guess Hawaii would be out the picture - why? PEARL HARBOUR LOL. It's a giant target saying 'nuke me'.
