I've recently moved to the greater Phoenix area (Arizona), northwest section of the valley.

What/where are some places to go and things to do? (Dance Clubs, Restaurants, Sports, Comedy Clubs, Concerts, etc.)

I'm new here too (Goodyear)...not too keen on the club scene but in our neck of the woods, Westgate (off the 101 and Glendale) has some decent restaurants and concert venues. Sports, we already know about the Suns and Coyotes :S but the DBacks are also very popular out here as well. If you don't mind the drive there's a lot more out in Scottsdale/Tempe...AZ Mills, Mill Ave, just more to see and do.

The Old Town section of Scottsdale is fucking awesome.

Bank One Ballpark is right in your fucking picture, and the Dbacks are awesome. It's fun sitting in the super-high "nosebleed" seats, listening to the salesmen shouting "Ice cream! Popcorn! Oxygen masks!"

Check out the Newtimes for concert listings (it'll have some of the the other shit you're interested in too). Here are a few of the concert venues anyway:
Marquee Theatre, Tempe - http://www.luckymanonline.com/
Modified Arts, Phoenix - modified.org
Brickhouse, Phoenix - http://my.calendars.net/brickhousecal

As mentioned, Old Town Scottsdale, sections of central Phoenix, Mill Avenue and other parts of Tempe contain the interesting things. The rest of Phoenix and its satellites are suburban hell.

Have fun wasting gas driving through our sprawl.

NW? Enjoy your old people and bigots. Stay out of Mesa if you don't like Mormons. Actually, just stay out of Mesa, it sucks. Tempe is great and Mill Avenue is fun. Old town Scottsdale is the other party hub but it always seemed more expensive and elitist to me. There doesn't seem to be a very good underground band scene in the entire valley, unless you enjoy Linkin Park ripoffs and DJ's, which Phoenix seems to have hordes of.
