Moving to Vancouver from the States Anonymous
So /trv/ what does Vancouver have to offer. I made a thread about potential places to immigrate to, and this is definitely one of my top picks. How is the quality of life there? What are the people like? What is the atmosphere regarding Americans? How expensive is housing ( Versus Bay Area) Jobs? Anything else I should know? Thanks a ton, you guys have definitely given very helpful advice.

Quality of life is one of the best

People are friendly also lots of asians so even more friendly. Although making some good friends might be hard unless you live on a university campus or work with people your own age.

Atmosphere is fine toward americans

Theres a lot of competition for apartments usually around $800 a month. You might have to commute in from a nearby city just look on craigslist. Buying any kind of housing is really expensive average is like $500,000 for any normal house.

Try to do some fun stuff when you go there, lots of ski mountains nearby, hiking, ect.. oh and it usually rains a lot.

Good stuff, one thing I also forgot to ask about is, how are cyclists generally treated? Was the city designed to accommodate them? I really enjoy doing it, but conscientious drivers are always nice.

From what I know biking is encouraged, anything that doesn't use your car. I've never done it but I think there are bike routes, bike to work week and biking communities
