i live in zagreb, and now that you asked me i can't think of anything. Zagreb is a nice city but there's nothing very special to do there. But since you'll be staying there for few months you should go on a few one day trips. I reccomend you Plitvica lakes. It's a 4 hours with car from Zagreb. That's a complex of waterfalls and nice, protected nature. If you feel a bit avanturistic, you can go to national park southern velebit. which is a 5 hour drive from Zagreb. There you can hike, take long walks and basicly nature and stuff. While in Zagreb you should defintly sit for a coffe in centre on morning saturday because all of Zagreb is there at the moment being lazy. Another thing is old upper town. The view is nice and the atmosphere is calm an pleasent. Also park Zrinjevac which is in the centre or park Maksimir which is a bit to the east, you can go there by tram. Those are nice places. I don't know how old are you but that are basicly stuff anyone can do.
