My friend is moving to Hong Kong, and I need to get him a gift. $70 Leatherman Wave vs. $30 book (Get Healthy Now by Gary Null).

I think he will appreciate the book more, because he's a health freak, but it is huge and weighs almost 3 pounds. The Leatherman is clearly superior, but I don't know if he'll just throw it away. What would you get someone who is /trv/eling away?

Personally Id prefer the leatherman over some trendy health book

I'd take the tool over the book, because there's way better books on health out there. Honestly, the best thing you could do would be go to simon.com and get him a prepaid Visa card with the money on it and let him do whatever he wants with the cash. Cards cost $2.50, you can get them at a local Simon Group property, no usage charge, no monthly maintenance charge before one year, and can be used anywhere Visa is accepted.

Heeeeeeeey, do you work for simon.com?

Nope, but I got one of those cards once from a mall, with no cameras on my path in and out of there, didn't give them any information about me, and bought a plane ticket with the card 20 minutes later. That's more than enough for me to pimp them out.

Heeeeeeeeeey, are you a terrorist giving out advice on how to destroy America?

No, and the US is doing a fine job of destroying itself. No help required.
