a lot of the micronations in the southern pacific seem like picturesque and perfect places to live, but actually many have lots of problems.
For example,
Lack of fresh water sources. Many islands rely on collection of rain water.
Political unstability. The recent democracy riots in Tonga are good example.
Global warming. The Micronesian and Polynesian countries are very impatient when it comes to climate control because many of their islands will be submerged underwater due to rising sea levels
And high prices for the tourists. Many of the island nations are very small and have to import a lot of their modern goods, which makes things pricey for travellers.
But obviously they're probably one of the most beautiful places on earth, and a great place for relaxing and scuba diving (except for the numerous big sharks).
