Is it possible to work in Canada while living in the US? Is there some kind of greencard for there? Also, does this apply to actors, or only blue collar or factory workers.

No. Canada has just as many reservations about foreigners working in their country as America does.

You can try and play it sneaky, getting paid under the table and telling customs you are just visiting. But they'll get suspicious after your repeated trips across the border.
