I plan on selling everything I own and leaving shortly. I plan on walking to wherever I might end up at and I was wondering where a good place is to start a new life.

I'm leaving out of North Carolina and not quite sure where to go.

I hear Atlanta is a fast-growing city

Good for you. I think the only way you can start a new life is to die and choose to be reborn again though. But, uhh, if you're looking for new places to live, there sure is a few fun ones out there. What exactly are you looking for in a place?

It kinda sucks that /trv/ has been reduced to these retarded troll threads where it's apparently impossible to give any sort of useful details so people can actually give their opinion.

Well, what do you want? More of the same? Big city, small town, coast, mountains, desert?

The US is a pretty big place.

Hello OP, good on you, it's the best way to get out of a rut. Don't forget to keep in contact with your family though. Also consider taking a train or car to your new location, I know fuel prices are higher than they use to be but come on...

I did much the same thing a while ago, I ended up in Germany, much happier now. If I was you, I would head off to one of the rural American states but then again i am a botanist :D Try wwoofing, Willing to work on organic farms. You get free room and board in exchange for work, if you work full time hours you usually get a... I don't know the English word for it but money each week, not too much but useful.

Anyway I mention this because your picture suggests you want to get back to nature a bit at least and it will give you plenty of time to think over your options. Plus valuable life experience and looks great on a CV whatever you decide to do! Also I know people in america who do tree planting for logging companys. No experience required, not great pay but its cheap to life so you can save lots of money.

What have you been trained in? Have you done an academic subject or apprentiship?

Best of luck.

The Appalachian Trail would be a good start. This is not the season to head north. You might consider a bicycle, you can see more territory. Although walking has its rewards as well.

Haha, underage b& is underage. You'll get a half of mile away and realize you haven't eaten and have school tomorrow and turn right back around.

Go to Northern California, the rural areas around the Bay Area, preferably. Livable year-round weather, beautiful scenery, close to San Fran, and most importantly, plenty of hippies for you to hang out with and get food from.

But seriously, at least bring a bike or something. It'll be more like Pokemon.

If he's leaving from North Carolina what because he doesn't like it what the hell makes you guys think he would like to move to another rural area?
>> Anonymous
>>76943
Considering he posted a picture of mountains and trees, its fair to assume he likes that sort of thing. And North Carolina =/= rural. Like in the rest of America, most people live in urban areas.
