OP, I'm not getting you.. if you're going through AIESEC I guess you get a trainee visa as you mention.. that means living expenses (lodging, food) paid for and that's it, as far as I know. Are you happy with it? If yes, tell us why.
Regarding conditions: it's easy to find clothes for fatties, if nothing else, in hip-hop stores (just select non-flashy clothes). Seriously, it's not a problem. Your english seems decent enough, japs and indian/srilankan/filipino trainees you will meet will probably have much worse english (well, except for filipinos I guess). And no one close is supporting your decision, so what? It's your choice and of course they're gonna try to talk you out of making 'big steps', but it's not a big deal. If all else fails, just come back (be sure to have a return ticket secured). If you're in a college now, don't quit it, put it on hold.
Also, could you write a bit about what kind of deal did you get and how? I'd like to hear more.
