>The economy grows fast 4% is not "fast growth"
Maybe not like China or India, but brazilian economy is now solid and recently they have received the investment grade for the first time. So when I say the economy grows fast, I mean it IS growing fast, and, if the government helps, WILL grow fast. "France has (by far) the strongest army among the South American countries. They can nuke every major Brazilian city in a few minutes, and in the jungle, the Foreign Legion garrison can probably hold out for any amount of time"
I'm considering just the south-american countries, really. France has French Guyanna, but I'm not sure someone will attack that piece of land, neither will them defend with all their heart.
About jungle, I think you know Brazil has the best jungle troops in south america (and possibly in the whole world). Considering the fact that real war that may happen WILL be on the Amazon (talking about Chávez, Morales, Correa... just like almost happened some months ago), and that Brazil (acoording to globalfirepower.com) is miles away from other countries, yeah, I'm pretty sure that if there's a war in South America including Brazil, I think this country wins.
However, of course, their army is not the best there is. But to deal with the south-american buddies, I think it's enough.
