So /trv/,

I'll be visiting a friend a London in Mid-May, and I was wondering what places should I visit.

So far, I've planned to see the Egyptian collection at the British museum and the Roy Lichtenstein stuff in Tate Modern. I will also get wasted in Camden Town and try the fabled Indian cuisine of the British Isles.

Suggestions much appreciated.

Absolutely, but before that?

You'd think that without all that beautiful historic architecture of most other European cities London would be a beautiful modern city............

Then you'll need Sparkbrook's Balti Triangle.

Too bad that's in BIRMINGHAM, 100 miles away. I suppose London will have some top-dollar imitations though.

You should try to see Stomp. It was an amazing show. Skip We Will Rock You, it wasn't so hot.

Egypt exhibit at the museum is fantastic.

I didn't eat any indian food but I've heard good things. Otherwise all other food I came across was pure shit. Blech!!

London: A dirty, expensive cultural (and culinary) wasteland filled with immigrants who hate Britain, pretentious poms who welcome them with open arms, and racist skinheads who hate foreigners but love the queen.

All those landmarks and whatnot

Although the tube is fun to navigate and ride on.

Day pass is around £5 if I remember. Worth it to get around.

No seriously though. What landmarks? When I see postcards and images of Paris and other mainland European cities I see tons of cool old shit. London on the other hand seems to only have Big Ben, Parliament, Westminster Abbey, The British Museum, some tall monument in the middle of a big roundabout, and a couple of skyscrapers. Oh yeah and the fucking London Eye. Seriously, what else is there?

Well, all those things listed.

Buckingham Palace, Oxford Street, Picadilly Circus, Tower Bridge, the Thames.

Don't mean to mock your "extensive list" but THAT IS ONE EXTENSIVE LIST.

Christ, what the fuck else do you want?

What is this "old shit" you mention in seemingly every other capital city in the world?

Wow, a bridge and a few panorama shots.

I shall not post images, but you are free to look here for pictures which may or may not satisfy your questions.

Yes, I've chosen panoramic images specifically because they show just how much historical architecture there is in those cities. I see no such shots of London, confirming my belief that it has about as much historical architecture as Washington DC.
