Thinking of going there for a holiday away from rainy England, anyone been there? Liked it?

Ive done New York and LA already... NY won.

I live here. Chicago is a great town as long as you stay outside of the south-side (you WILL get shot). The weather is kinda muggy though, but this summer is relatively calm. Has great museums (The Art Institute, The Field Museum, etc.) and good food. If you decide to go, I recommend a river boat tour and seeing a music festival in Millennium Park (they have them every weekend until the end of September).

Another Chicagoan here, so I guess I'm kinda biased, but I think Chicago is a great city and worth visiting. Check out downtown area near the loop and don't go south. This includes Millennium Park, Magnificent Mile, Navy Pier, Field Museum (where I actually intern during the summer, maybe I'll see you), Shedd Aquarium, etc.

Taste of Chicago starts friday if you like eating good food.

>away from rainy England

While not as rainy as England, Chicago has NEVER been known for good weather.
