Denmark Anonymous
Inspite of the high living standard, I absolutely despise living in this grey, flat, miserable country.

Has any Anons been to Denmark, and if so, what were your general impressions of the country and its people?

Picture related, as it's taken with my (shitty) cellphone cam at the Pedestrian shopping Street in the very cenre of Copenhagen.

I come from Finland, and I always thought Denmark is a warm, happy place with lots of sun and happy smiling people.. isn't that the truth?

Well, Finland IS colder. XD
Denmark doesn't get an awful lot of sun during the summer, though. We have similar weather to England.
As far as the smiling people go, well, I'm lucky if I get eye-contact with a cashier at a grocery store.

The only time I was in Denmark was on a trip to Sweden. I had to take the ferry over to Helsingor and get my aunt and her boyfriend some booze. Imagine my surprise when I found there were entire supermarkets in Denmark that sold only alcohol.

I'm a Danefag myself and I rather like living in Denmark.
Sure, the weather isn't always pleasant, but most of the people are open minded and we have some of the prettiest girls in the world.
I wouldn't call Denmark neither grey nor miserable, but yeah; it is pretty flat...

I once spent a week in Latvia, on a student exchange program. Now *that's* a grey and miserable country (apologies to any anons from Latvia)! One student I talked with, said that he couldn't wait to leave the country - he had been in England some years before, and he loved it. Then, when he came back, he suddenly started noticing how dull the Latvian people dressed, how their eyes were always downcast and how nobody ever seemed to laugh out loud in public. He was, in his own words, tired of being a young man in a lifeless country.

O, I love Denmark. Visited it last summer, hitchiked from Copenhag to Århus and some other little towns and back to Copenhag. Really kind people, they had much to say! I'm about to go there again next summer, or summer 2009. Best two weeks of my life!

I only visited for hours at a time and met personally two people from Denmark, the general impression I got was good and boozey. Copenhagen airport was nice.

It's more curvy than flat, just no high mountains or valleys.
