Not so bad, you know. After Russia, Bosnia looks like pretty good European country.

Kill as many as possible before they shove even more immigrants to our country. Seriously, they all act fucking primitive and subhumanish here.

How many unarmed Bosniaks you killed in 1995?

Are the women hot? Is the food cheap? What about short term accommodations?

Yes. Yes, and delicious. Yes in cities, though I wouldn't count on finding anywhere in small villages, etc., which is reasonable. Mind you, people are very generous so I wouldn't put it past them to offer you a place to stay if you really needed somewhere.

One of my friends was traveling in Eastern Europe and she said the same about random people offering a room in their house for like $20/night or something.

Hey OP.

Is there an expat community there? How much does a decent home on the countryside reasonably close to a nice sized city but safe and clean run for example? Are there a fuckton of assholes there swooping in on "Deals", or is this already old news?

tl;dr I would like to live somewhere in eastern europe one day, before the Russians completely buy everything out, turning it all to shit. Do you have a suggestion of where to look? In another country perhaps?

Thanks man.

I doubt people would expect much (if any) money if they offered you a place. People would sell their shoes to feed their guests.

There are loads of weekend houses for sale, mainly targeted at foreigners I presume. Assholes stealing the deals is certainly the case, but not by a large margin really. I really suggest you learn the language though, because people are very tolerant if you can speak it (properly or not).

As for Russia fucking up the place, recall that Former Yugoslavia has never been part of the Eastern Bloc of the late USSR, so there is negligible influence at all.

As for where, none of the cities bar Sarajevo are that large, but you'll find reasonably sized town dotted everywhere, so living in the middle of nowhere isn't unheard of by any means. You will need a car, though. Amazingly there is pristine concrete even in the most unusual places (see image).

Be aware that there are still the odd places littered with mines, mainly atop mountains. If you're into hiking just bare that in mind (most places have signs labeled "PAZI MINE" (caution, mines) or something along those lines), otherwise it is hardly a problem.

Image is somewhere, I think Bjelašnica (mountain).

Thanks for amazingly large pic and response anon.

I was aware of the non eastern blockiness of the area, I just assumed that Russia was there fucking everything up.

The landmine thing is a problem I hadn't thought of.

You have any links for a real estate minded person to peruse?

Ok, so I'm going to be in Hungary. Should I visit Bosnia (or former yugoslavia anywhere)? Why? and Where?
