I asked the stewardess for a pepsi. She returned 5 minutes later with the entire first class serving staff, who all bowed, while she profusely apologized about them not having pepsi. I tried to apologize myself, which only made them bow deeper and apologize even more profusely for having inconvenienced one of their most respected first class passengers. In an attempt to exonerate JAL from the shame they have suffered, my entire wine and sake tab on the flight would be complimentary.
