How's it going /trv/?

Quick question for everyone. In August, I'm going to be traveling outside the US for the first time to be heading to Germany. I've already gotten my passport, but I have yet to use it. How anal is American Customs when it comes to international travel? Moreover, what would be your recommendation as far as how light/heavy I should pack? (I'll be in Germany for 10 days or so)

Pic related...duh

I dunno anything about American customs but if you have an American passport it shouldn't be too much of a nightmare getting in and out again, apart from the retarded security checks I'm sure you'll have to go through.

As for what to take, take less than you think you'll need. Travelling light is always better. Especially if it's only for 10 days.

American customs suck major ass if you're a foreigner going TO the states. Going outside is a fuckload easier. Last time I visited was in 2006, so I don't think it has changed alot.

Just be prepared to take off your shoes in customs.

Gerfag here. As for the weather related packing: You may hit a time with real summer heat and beautiful blue sky or you may hit one where it's raining all the time and the evenings aren't bearable without a jacket. So be sure to check the weather forecast before packing and always have one or two pieces of thicker clothes with you.

If you're white, you're all set.

It's not that hard, just make sure the passport is not expired. At most you will suffer long lines at customs.

Went out of the country recently. Leaving is not bad at all. If you are bringing electronics such as a laptop, be prepared to turn it on for them and have them scan it. (They seem to be getting mroe anal about them in certain airports.) Don't bring anything stupid like fruits, vegetables, bla bla.

Way back, be prepared to have all your stuff searched at least once. (I somehow got fully checked twice?)
