sup /trv/, I'm leaving for Spain and Italy tomorrow, and I was just wondering how everyone copes with jet lag, because I hate being tired. Also, what does everyone recommend to do in either Madrid or Rome?

Just take a fistful of sleeping pills and drug yourself to sleep for the entire flight. Thats what I do, the lady will wake you up for your meal, you eat it, go back to sleep and wake up when you land.

A blindfold and ear plugs, with some sleeping pills you let you sleep anywhere, crying babies, bright lights, doesn't matter.

When you land/wake up you'll have plenty of rest. There is no reason to be awake on a plane. I don't know how anyone can tolerate sitting on a crowded plane in a tiny seat sitting for 10 hours without going insane.

Madrid, Rome? walk around and take pictures. Drink alot.

I heard on a show that putting lights on the back of your knees can help. Your blood absorbs the light which makes you feel like you're experiencing normal day/night. I'm not sure how well it actually works though, and it might be a pain to actually hook up lights like that.

on my trip across the atlantic i ate 1mg of xanax and two drinks at the airport before takeoff and slept most of the ride. You mgiht feel groggy the next day if you're not used to'em, but i'd rather feel a little drunk than put up w/ a 10 hour trip enclosed by loud strangers

I think that only applies on most trans-Atlantic flights.

Also, is OP's pic from X-Plane?

I used to live in Asia and return home (West Coast US) once a year or more. You usually only get bad jet lag going East-->West. I usually do the recommended stuff like stay awake during regular hours... but that doesn't help when you are partying all night. I would suggest using some melatonin at your desired bedtime. That ca n reset your clock pretty effectively. Also, don't sleep a bunch like these fuckheads suggested, It's better to stay awake as long as you can so you can go to sleep at your desired bedtime.
