hey /trv/

I'm currently looking at moving. I live in Alabama and this place fucking sucks. The career choices are limited, theres too many rednecks running around, and its overall just a shitty place.

I would be able to move to somewhere in the US or even Canada... provided I could get a job(well no shit) and the cost of living wasn't too out there.

I was wondering if anyone here has any suggestions?

I live in Mobile.

It's not as bad as you're making it sound, though. I guess I shouldn't talk, I'm about to leave. Biggest problem I have with Mobile is that there isn't much to do..

Its not so much the rednecks and the lack of anything to do as it is the career choices.

It's supposedly going to get better because.. uh.. that plane thing. The one with the German company. The one we got over Seattle.

Sue me, I don't keep up with city news much.

I heard the same thing, but building planes or making steel doesn't really do it for me. Yeah I know a job isn't supposed to be fun but way too often I see people getting trapped into a career that they don't enjoy but continue doing it just for a paycheck... literally trading hours of their lives for it.

I know other people who work and while it may not be the best thing ever, its not so bad.

I'd prefer the latter.

What are you doing right now, anyway? Do you go to South? Are you not in college?

I live in Biloxi, I suggest you move to New Orleans, I plan on doing so soon since it's cheap with a lot of job opportunities and an overall nice city.

Is it still a ghost town?

Nope, there's less stuff on the waterfront (small stuff like restaraunts, etc.) and all the old mansions are gone but all the casinos are rebuilt and we're having something of a post-Katrina boom.

New Orleans is in fine shape too. I was just there a few months ago and you'd hardly know they got hit in most areas.

Last time I went it was at night about a year ago. It was weird being in New Orleans at night and seeing no other cars.

Move to Finland. High taxes, sure, but free education, social care, stuff. You're funded even if you dont have a job. I dont know if USA has that. Anyway, you really are looked for here. And its only 19 people per square kilometer by average. Enough space and harmony. And you can go north to dig gold, lols :D

The only one of those the US doesnt have is the healthcare, it's probably harder to get free money if you don't work here though but our taxes are lower.
