Hi /trv/

Can anyone really educate me on online check-in at airports procedures, and what is the advantage?
Because as I understand, we still need to queue to get the boarding pass.

no you usually print your boarding pass if you check in online. if you don't have a printer, you can still check in online but wait in line anyway.

slightly faster and slightly more convenient. might be a separate line for people who checked in online. especially useful if you have no checked baggage because you can go straight to terminal.

this is my experience flying domestic in the US. i noticed you used the word queue so i'm guessing you're not american? so YMMV.

If you have no bags to check in, you can just do it online, get the pass, and go. It speeds everything up, I use it a lot with RyanAir.

Yes, im not american. Going visiting places in USA.

So basically with the printed itinenary as my pass, i can skip line?
And when you say terminal, check-in and the departure gate are in different buildings?

no not just the itinerary. when you check in online, you should be able to print out a boarding pass. it should say BOARDING PASS on it and have some sort of barcode.
