Preseason Coach's Poll released Anonymous

Ohio State at #3?......Wow.
>> Anonymous
college sports, the only competition where you can be in first place before anyone plays any games
>> Anonymous
>>227675

Also the only competition where you can be undefeated and not a champion.
>> Anonymous
Wake Forest and Illinois too low, Tennessee, LSU, and Texas too high.

I happen to be an expert on college football so you can kill yourself if you disagree.
>> Anonymous
>>227673
I kno rite, seems too high to me too. Georgia oughta start #1 with their schedule, if they can survive that, like Beano's dumbass even said, forget BCS bowls, they should play in the fucking Super Bowl.
>> Anonymous
I'm a Michigan fan and damn they are ranked too high.

preseason polls don't mean that much anyways.

polls shouldn't be released until week 4.

2006: Tennessee 51 - Georgia 33
2007: Tennessee 35 - Georgia 14

Georgia is a state made of fail, and they will continue to fail against the vols

you cant go to the national title game if you cant even win your DIVISION, let alone the conference outright
>> Anonymous
Where the fuck is UConn?

They finished last year in 14th and were co-champions of the Big East. (yes, even last year they beat Rutgers, Louisville, and USF)

They barely lost anybody last year either.

It's bullshit how biased the BCS is.
>> Anonymous
>>227750
The Big East gets no respect. People forget about how a few years ago WVU beat Georgia in a BCS bowl. I believe that game was in Georgia too.
>> Anonymous
Hell yeah Missouri at #7...I know it doesn't mean anything yet but at least we finally have a team that can be recognized.
>> Anonymous
>>227745
aw, poor widdle Tenn fan, sorry nobody respects you anymore. face it - you're a basketball school now, & a women's one at that. you talk big for a fan of a program only capable of winning one battle per season lately, cause you damn sure aren't winning the Wars for REAL hardware, yet you have the nerve to speak of conf titles... protip: you haven't won one in a decade now. hell, Bama's won the SEC since you faggots have, lol. kudos for getting embarrassed by the likes of Cal, and K-State, Maryland, Clemson or other mediocre Slow 11 / ACC teams in your nonstop trips to the Peach, Outback, or other shitty bowls. That's where the rest of us go in down seasons, rebuilding years... that's where you go in your good seasons nowadays. so you'll have to excuse us for not being able to hear your whining most of the time lately while the rest of us SEC powers are busy playing in & winning BCS bowls. Auburn got 1, Florida got 1, Georgia's got 2, LSU's got 2, WTF have you got lately? Pat Summit and another trip to Tampa in late Dec, that's what you've got. enjoy!
>> Anonymous
SEC fans - have to rationalize in their mind that their sports are more important cause their schools are so shit.
>> Anonymous
The major problem I have with preseason polls is that its speculation that helps out crappy, mediocre teams in a conference.

Such as Georgia, they are a crappy team ranked high like they were last year when they got beat by USC (the crappy chicken one from South Carolina). This allowed the cocks to rise to six in the polls and you saw where that ended up.

tl;dr - SEC is overrated conferance that benefits from their mediocre teams getting undeserved preseason rankings.

SEC may be shitty in general, but Florida is a very good school. fuck you

you probably are a Buckeyefag
>> Anonymous

I actually graduated from Florida lol. It is weird even though it is SEC I feel I can talk shit about the other schools.
>> Anonymous
well florida is head and shoulders above the rest of the SEC academically

i'm a freshmen there now
>> Anonymous
And Tennessee is not made of fail... considering that UGA DEMOLISHED yall for four straight years not to long ago. And UGA does have quite a winning record against yall.... so yeah... Ummmm.... Not really made of fail.

lol gtfo, your just as dumb as the rest of them.

Umm... UF is not ahead of Vanderbuilt... UGA..... or any of the others..... Alabama even... UGA had TWO Rhode Scholars last year..... I have not heard anything like that from Florida.. and Alabama has tons of other things they get.... And well.. Vanderbuilt is by far the Head of the class.... lol.. UF.

elevenfags have to rationalize that academics are more important even as they try to troll /sp/

you want to trash the south, there's plenty of boards on which it would be appropriate. this is not the one.
>> Anonymous
>>227825

i'm not an elevenfag, i'm a bigeastfag.

Who the fuck are you to tell me I can't trash the south, fuck off you poor redneck hicks. I can say whatever the fuck I want to you, you mullet-wearing nascar-watching bastard.
>> Anonymous
Well my bad for stating things, but regardless of what they say, its not like they are far off... and even so, those things change every year, I am not really trying to argue to much about Academics, I was not really trying to say that UF is a bad school because I know that it is far from that, but I have yet to hear as much about Florida receiving national awards for their students than I have some of the others.
>> Anonymous
I hate to tell you, but Nascar/ Motor sports is pretty big in the North as well... Just look at Indiana. So that is a very poor insult you used sir.
>> Anonymous
>>227838

Indycar =/= Nascar
>> Anonymous
There are quite a few great drivers that come from other places other than the South.... in fact... many have been from other places. Not just the South. Look out west... from Cali... racing is pretty big there as well.

ITT: people have an ego over the safety school they had to settle for and decide to throw a thread off topic
>> Anonymous
Yeah. I guess that did happen. But I say with the way that Georgia ended the year, they deserve to be number one. They are the best team tallent wise... but will they finish out their schedule.. that remains to be seen. Tennessee could beat UGA at home and UGA could loose to Florida, LSU, And Auburn... maybe even ASU... their schedule is tough, but thats why we play the games. If everyone HATES Georgia for getting their ranking, then wait your turn, because Georgia has TONS of tests. By the end of the year, we will see the truth, so do not get so angry about them being so high if you think they suck.

GATORS STILL WIN, FAGGOTS
49. University of Florida
59. University of Georgia
91. University of Alabama
96. University of Tennessee
96. Auburn University
122. University of Kentucky
lol no LSU

19. Vanderbilt University - but no football team so who cares
>> Anonymous
We saw that Florida was the highest except for Vanderbilt. Oh well, this is football, not A battle of minds... plus I would bet that When it comes to what MOST football players take, I doubt the school they go to matters very much, at least with most teams.
>> Anonymous
Michigan was preseason Top 5 last year.

These polls mean nothing.
>> Anonymous
>>228085
wow see that link posted earlier today?

good research you dumbfuck
>> Anonymous
At least half these teams will not even be within sniffing range of the top 25. This is a bullshit poll by the coaches who want to see Georgia fail, and because they want to intentionally ruin the BCS by trying to get Ohio State into the title game again FTL.
>> Anonymous
I do not think you can say that the poll means "nothing", but it does not mean as much as some people would like it to.

Georgia sucks, they will lose to Ole Miss. West ZVirginia sucks, they will lose to air and girls. The true fight is LSU & USC. Ohio State does not count.

Florida is also awesome. LSU, FLA & USC is real football. OSU is not. Also Georgia.

Frankly, the Big 12 will knock these guys down maybe.. But the Big 10, and ACC wont. Cause those are fags who dont know shit about footballs. Also big east cannot play football anymoar since Miami ditched them.

In my mind it comes down to a Conference USA schedule against a Mountain West Schedule, and I'd know which league I'd rather be playing in if I wanted to win a lot of games.

This is probably unrealistic for me to think this, but Paul Smith was fairly unremarkable as a QB before Malzahn got a hold of him, and I wouldn't be terribly surprised if the JUCO (who's name I'm too lazy to look up) could pull off something similar. That, and their defense can't possibly be any worse than last year.

>Paul Smith was fairly unremarkable
wat

Paul Smith played in Kragthorpe's quick hit, screen heavy offense. He didn't often get a chance to show what he could do. On top of that, Tulsa had mediocre receivers with the exception of Garrett Mills, who thanks to Paul's efficiency set the single season record for receiving yards by a TE.

I'm a Tulsafag, but I don't see it this year unless David Johnson proves he is nearly as good as Smith. They have to play Arkansas on the road, UCF, at SMU with June Jone's offense, and at Houston. There should be at least one loss in there, as badly as I wish there won't be.
>> Anonymous
>>228757

Wisconsin will be lucky to be in the top 25 at the end of the year.

1. They don't have a good QB
2. Their defense will probably still be awful and unable to stop the spread
3. Their best running back is about to go to jail

Umm.. if You knew something about football, You would know that the Big East CAN play football. I am a SECfag and I know that. West Virginia beat...OU, South Florida did show SOME great tallent.
