"SportsBusiness Daily is reporting that Brett Favre will be the cover athlete for the upcoming "Madden NFL 09," video game.

The game, which is set for an early August release, will be the 20th installment for the video game.

Favre is expected to appear on CBS' "Late Night" tonight to make the official announcement."

So how will the Madden jinx affect Brett? He isn't playing football next season.

He's not going to win a single game of bingo at the old folks home.

Not a single game.

Maybe they're trying to break the curse, without publicly admitting that the curse exists.

Then again, he could tear his his ACL while filming "There's Something About Mary 2," so there's no telling.

He'll die of a painkiller overdose now

He'll come back to the Packers in week 16, hoping to keep the Pack from going 0-16. On his first snap, he'll drop back, and trip and snap his ankle. THE MADDEN CURSE STRIKES AGAIN!

The cover should be fucking slowpoke.

He already had a pain killer addiction, father died day before game, wife diagnosed with breast cancer, brother in law died, played nearly a whole season with a broken thumb, hurricane Katrina fucked up his neighborhood... damn.

Hes only on the cover cause John Madden has a massive boner for him. I predict the next 5 madden covers will have Favre, it will be like QB club all over again.

He'll die, and then we will have to watch half a year of farve memory programs on tv.

Brett Favre isn't even a good qb. He won a single super bowl, which puts him on the same level of that dude with the moustache from the giants, also, a guy named Trent Dilfer.

I get that Maddden & Kornheiser want to fellate him. But even Namath was cooler.

I just do not get why this guy is put into discussions amongst Elway, Montana, Brady, Aikman, et al. I guess he is being paid by oil companies for being dumb and making it so easy to go to war with Iraq. Fucking southerners.

SRSLY, I cannot understand the tears and AIDS around Favre. I get that Wisconsinians love that shit, I get that Mississippians love him. He has not made any record that Peyton will break 5 years earlier, Brady will continue to win more Super Bowls. Warren Moon > Brett Favre.

"He has not made any record that Peyton will break 5 years earlier"

That's total bullshit and you know it. Everybody knows that neither Manning will ever break Favre's most interceptions in the NFL record.
