Google Earth spoilers who goes to the BCS championship.

Conspiracy?

Moar like picture is from 2004.

USC 28 Michigan 14 I believe.
>> Anonymous
lol Florida at #2, BCS is garbage.
>> Anonymous
Swamp creatures snuck in by a margin of ten one thousandths of a point. I call for a review of that play.
>> Anonymous
Too much hype-love from the voters towards Florida. Michigan rematch would have made for a much better game.

Already saw a Michigan/OSU game this year, and Michigan lost.

Michigan was overrated to begin with. Any team who struggles with Ball State is overrated. Their marquee win is over Wisconsin who played only one ranked team all year long, and that one ranked team was Michigan. So that shows you how quality that win really was.
>> Anonymous
Agreed. Hopefully, USC doesnt have a letdown after being relegated to the Rose Bowl, and promptly beats the shit out of overrated michigan. in any case, i am glad that florida made it

By THREE POINTS
If you can play the UNDISPUTED #1 that close, doesn't that say something?
>> Anonymous
>>25007

Uh.....didn't Michigan TRASH Notre Dame IN INDIANA?
>> Anonymous
>>25022
yea, it says that you lost and that its time for the new #2 to take a shot
>> Anonymous
>>25026

Lol, can't wait to see Ohio State win by 2 scores.

So are you saying all games should be played at neutral sites? Boo hoo, Ohio State won at The Big House last year, and I didn't hear you guys crying for a rematch.

You lost. Get over it.
>> Kilgamayan !2BklmILFiE
>>25034

I'm saying a game at a non-neutral site should not belay a rematch in a later bowl game unless the home team loses. If this game had been played in Ann Arbor and OSU still won then Michigan fans like myself would have no argument whatsoever because there would then be no reason to believe an outcome on a neutral site would be any different.

As for last year, Michigan clearly did not deserve to be anywhere near the championship game, so that point is moot.

Good lord, this whole season illustrates the need for a 4-team playoff for the Championship
>> Kilgamayan !2BklmILFiE
>>25047

Honestly, I'd say 3, not 4. There have been more instances of one team getting BCSnubbed than two, and this year adding another team BEYOND Florida and Michigan would cause more aggravation and controversy than splitting between Florida and Michigan already has. (How did ND leapfrog USC into #4 again?)

2v3, winner v1 for the title.

>>25050

OK, but what if the dispute lies over who's #1, rather than who's #2?
>> Anonymous
You people have to learn that no playoff is coming. The bowls don't want a playoff and are paying big money to the conferences to keep a playoff from happening. Why do you think it's called the Bowl Championship Series.

The best you can hope for is a plus-one, where a #1 an #2 are determined after the regular bowls and face each other for the title. And even that won't happen till the current contract expires after the 2010 bowls.
>> Anonymous
>>25055

I'm pretty sure that everyone here knows that no such playoff system will be forthcoming for quite some time (due both to current contractual issues, and the lucrative deals the BCS continues to present to the conferences and their respective champs).

But that's not going to stop people from wishing.

You're right. I guess most of you don't remember the days before the BCS/Bowl Alliance/Bowl Coalition. At least now you have teams somewhat resembling #1 and #2 playing each other. Before the Bowl Whatever, #1 would probably play #15 while #2 would play #8 and #3 would play #37 in a sandlot somewhere outside Peoria.
>> Kilgamayan !2BklmILFiE
>>25052

If you're the true #1 then you should be able to beat the #3 on neutral turf.
>> Anonymous
even if this was real.......the games ins't until january 8th, why the fuck would they paint the endzones now?
>> Anonymous
>>25074

Because we've entered.......The Twilight Zone.

>>25070
IF YOU ARE THE TRUE NUMBER ONE TEAM AS MICHIGAN WANTS TO BE, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO BEAT THE CURRENT NUMBER ONE TEAM AT THEIR STADIUM IN THE FIRST PLACE. BUT YOU DIDN't GB2 THE ROSE BOWL
>> Anonymous
OSU is going to win by 3 touchdowns.

It's too bad the national title game was played in November, but oh well.
>> Kilgamayan !2BklmILFiE
>>25134

Way to make an argument that pertained in absolutely no way to was I was saying or responding to. Michigan isn't claiming itself to be the true #1, dumbass. It's claiming itself to be the true #2.
>> Anonymous
>>25142
And by claiming to be number two and saying it can beat OSU at a neutral site, it claims to be number one. If it is not claiming to be able to beat OSU, then why a rematch. Face it, they lost, game over.
>> Anonymous
>>25165

Just because you are #1 does not mean you are invincible. How do you think upsets happen?
>> Kilgamayan !2BklmILFiE
>>25165

Michigan's not claiming they're #1. They're claiming they've earned a real shot at the #1 as the #2, not a bogus shot like what they got at Ohio State.
>> Anonymous
>>25176

QFT, and the key words that the SEC-jackers keep conveniently ignoring are "at Ohio State".

Please, I'd love to hear a coherent argument that homefield advantage could not possibly be worth 3 points. Even *Vegas* gives 3-6 points for homefield, and they've forgotten more about football than all of us know combined.
>> Anonymous
When you're at home, you have 100,000 fans screaming in your opponent QB's ear. That's definitely worth something.

If Ohio State and Michigan played on a neutral field 100 times, I would probably guess that Ohio State would win about 55-60 of those games.
>> Anonymous
Think about it this way, if you want to negate the results of your loss because it was a close away game against a hightly ranked opponent, then you would have to do the same for Florida, LSU, and Louisville. Since Florida would still have more quality wins, they would still make it past UM
>> Anonymous
>>25176
How was it a bogus shot? They played they lost. Quit this equal field bullshit. Texas beat OSU AT the Shoe(not to mention USC at a non equal Rose Bowl). That is a real champion, you couldn't beat them there, you don't deserve another shot, you wasted it already. And what happens if Michigan beat OSU at the championship game anyways, they would be tied at 12-1 1-1 a piece. ANOTHER REMATCH? No fuck you. Michigan lost, they should have played better home field or no home field.
>> Anonymous
The best part is knowing if Michigan BEAT OSU by 3 points, there would be a rematch, regardless of USC or Florida.
