The winner of the 2008 Lottery will be the Charlotte Bobcats, why? Because they are /sp/'s official team, not to mention they deserve it. Who would be upset if they won the lottery?

1 golden state gets it with their 0.5 % chance
2 golden state trades pick for kobe mvp bryant

But /sp/ loves Dirk, and they killed Dirk, theres a reason to hate them
>> Anonymous
>>106437
the only people on /sp/ that loves Dirk are mavsfags. Everyone else hates that pussy faggot.
>> Anonymous
>>106431
They're not our team for that. It's just that nobody cares about the Bobcats or any other team from the area. If the Panthers or Bobcats won a championship, /sp/artans would just accept it as an off year.
>>106434
We don't care about the Warriors but the fact that they won 1st with a .5 percent chance. That's LOL worthy.
>>106441
This man is correct, most people on /sp/ hate the Mans and their whiny team.

Anyway, The Trailblazers should pick Derrick Rose if they get the pick

Rose > Steve Blake

oh, he is - just figured that if you're mentioned portland's good young talent, ol' R-O-Y roy should be in the conversation

Travis Outlaw isn't too bad either.
>> Anonymous
>>106466
with this frontcourt they would need a few years to gel and then they would be scary as hell. Too bad rookie contracts only last about 2 years with the third being an option year. But if the Blazers could have that frontcourt plus Roy for 4 or 5 years shit would be crazy. They would just need a decent ballhandler/passer at the point and they would dominate.

Whether I want them to get the #1 (or #2, mostly the only chance to get somebody great)
1. Miami Heat (250) - Meh kinda want - I don't hate the Heat. Seeing them this shitty is kinda sad, maybe because I appreciate D-Wade's talent and how the Heat are killing his future with their shittyness.
2. Seattle Supersonics (199) - Do not want - Fuck more opportunities about Seattle Bawwfags. We'll hear about that CONSTANTLY.
3. Minnesota Timberwolves (138) - Meh - As with most every T-Wolf team, no matter what they'll do it'll end up being meaningless. Though dumping one of those great players on the Timberwolves wouldn't be TERRIBLE.
4. Memphis Grizzlies (137) - Kinda want - Memphis kinda needs a meaning for existence. Can you imagine them if they had gotten LeBron? Me neither.
5. New York Knicks (76) - VERY NO - Fuck the Knicks getting either the 1 or the 2. If that happens, it's an NBA conspiracy.
6. LA Clippers (75) - Haha Okay - The Clips are notorious for having bad draft luck.
7. Milwaukee Bucks (43) - No - Everything about the Bucks is made of boring and fail.
8. Charlotte Bobcats (28) - Lol - It'd be a shame if Beasley and Rose were sacrificed to the Bobcats
9. Chicago Bulls (17) - Hmm - I'd need to see what happens to mull over wheter this would be win or fail.
10. New Jersey Nets (11) - I'm for it - Nets are a legitimate playoff contender with enough brains behind the organization to become an interesting team.
>> Anonymous
>>106507
11. Indiana Pacers (8) - Maybe - Does Indiana really DESERVE a good team considering their fans are such bandwagoners? Not really, but they missed out on their chance to have a really good team because of dumb players.
12. Sacramento Kings (7) - Haha okay - If the Kings get the 1st or 2nd it'll be funny simply because of the chances. Plus they can build their team for 2010 when they'll inevitably try to attract LeBron.
13. Portland Trail Blazers (6) - ... - The Trailblazers would be scary with such youth talent, but both unproven. Interesting team.
14. Golden State Warriors (5) - WANT - For obvious lulz reasons

You really don't live in Northern California, do you?

We could care less about 2010. We have the most cap room in the NBA RIGHT FUCKING NOW. We're trying to build on the guys we already have. Next year, i'd be surprised if the Kings didn't make the playoffs. Certainly they won't go anywhere, but it will be a fun team to watch with Beno and Ron Ron and the sixth leading scorer in the NBA, Mr. Kevin Martin, pic oh so fucking related.
>> Anonymous
>>106525

Quite honestly, they're are right now 11 teams which I think could make a potential run for a playoff spot next year. This years + Warriors, Trail Blazers, and Kings.

I honestly think the Kings have the least chance out of all of those mentioned =\

saying he's the best power forward prospect since Noah isn't exactly saying very much.

p.s. Lopez is a center

tall, reasonably athletic, and (here's the kicker) an existing offensive skillset. most of the 5s that come out of drafts are either undersized (ex - okafor), unathletic (ex - spencer hawes), or lack the ability to score from beyond 5 feet (noah). lopez isn't a can't-miss guy, but he has a pretty high ceiling as is, plus he appears to be able to contribute right away with his ability to hit turn-around jumpers, rebound, and play (so/so) defense.
>> Anonymous
>>107535
let me clarify, i'm not saying that any of the players i mentioned as examples are lacking in their eventual - or current, in okafor's case - ability to produce. just that it's rare to find a big man who has a polished offensive game (though brook is overrated - 90% of his "polish" is turning over his right shoulder and hitting 12-ft jumpers) without sacrificing athleticism or size (or both - hello kevin love, for example). even great, highly-drafted players generally seem to be missing in one of these areas (even greg oden didn't have much of a traditional true post repertoire). lopez offers all 3, though he's not a plus-level prospect for any of the 3:

though he's legit 7 ft, he's not particularly rangy, like, say, andrew bynum and his 952 ft wingspan.

though he's athletic enough with a solid vertical and straightline speed, he still has problems with lateral quickness, allowing faster guards to get past him - see darren collison of ucla, who is really only about 5'11 but very fast.

though he's got a well-rounded set of offensive moves, none of them are consistent except for that odd little jumper from the left block - but that's a shot he won't be able to get very easily against nba-level length and speed.

he'll go 3-6 slots too high (also - hooray quirky smart white people from stanford, easy sell to the marketing department) with all-star ceiling and reserve center floor.

Knicks. Because I just did a thread on chemo for them.

It's because Okafor is not suspose to be playing center, and when playing center hes almost lock to get a double double every night. I still haven't got off his bandwagon, although so many have , lets just take a look at the Bobcats roster

PG-Felton , they fucked up by playing him wayyyyy to much at the 2 guard spot early on in his career, give him time to get the point down, and he could go to the All Star game, since the east lack Major Point Guards.

SG- Jason Richardson , this guy can ball, the problem is getting him to be consistent, Don't get me wrong hes not a top 5 SG in the league, but honestly hes a good 2 guard

SF- Gerald Wallace, being a season ticket holder of the Bobcats, this guy is so exciteing to watch live, show he can't jump, or dunk like he use to , but he is still a blast to watch, and a solid started

PF/C Emeka Okafor - Still can be a great PF, if giving the right center , and the right offense. No matter what hes going to give you double doubles on most nights.

They are missing one guy they need another Big, and they could be as high as a #5 Seed in the East, which isn't saying much, the problem is there bench is very weak

Adam Morrison - It's ok to say he's a bust now, but I think the main problem is Diabetes, if you know anyone effected by it, you know how rough it is, imagine trying to pay in the NBA with it.

Jared Dudley - Ehh.. its to early to call him a bust, but honestly I just don't think he will get much better, then a solid 7th or 8th man in the rotation

Sean May - Has no offensive moveset what so ever, but is still a decent defender when he isn't hurt, but thats rare.

So give me Beasley put him at the #4 , put Okafor at the center, which I think he'd be decent at if you have another dominant big man, and watch the Bobcats make the playoffs and stir up the east

He showed flashes of being great... but an extra year in college would have helped. Still, Porland seems like a good spot for him. They already have a solid team with Oden coming back, and Koufos wouldn't fuck with chemistry too much, like another slasher would.

as far as the states.... Las Vegas seems like the next step. I'd love to see an arena on the strip connected to casinos lol. Locals and tourists could go. Parking isnt an issue, you can park free at any strip casino, and walk to the arena in whichever space they place it.
