>>375696 First off, I don't want all-encompassing sports coverage. I pick and choose coverage of sports that I want. Thus, I use the internets to find coverage of sports I care about. If you want in-depth coverage of any sport besides baseball and football, you don't watch ESPN for that coverage.
I do watch ESPN for actual sporting events, and occasionally Sportscenter if there is actual major breaking news. Other than that, I don't really watch any of the analysis shows (Baseball tonight, NFL Live, etc.) or any of the opinion shows (ATH, PTI).
It's pretty simple. While ESPN was initially great because it offered a specialized coverage, now with the internet, you can get even further specialized coverage. Rather than simply accept what coverage the media provides, you can really pick and choose exactly want you want with the internet. You can essentially create your own reality of what sports exist. As far as I am concerned, baseball doesn't even exist because I never watch the games, and I never see any coverage of it. And that's because I can choose not to see or hear anything about it.
