Really, guys? Really?

fuck this team. I really need to shift my support to my second favorite team.

Who?

The former Devil Rays.

As a lifelong metfag, I’ve grown considerably. I just don’t care anymore. Sure, I watch and go to games, I follow them like some follow a religion, but their wins and losses are arbitrary.

Look at today, and this series against the Nationals. The Mets proved that they are a fucking joke. They have a top tier ace pitcher, a solid rotation, an awesome lineup when it produces like it should. But they can’t do anything with it. Watching Willie Randolph manage this team is like watching a retard try to put together a three-piece puzzle: painful, yet hysterical. I cannot wait til that fucker gets the ax.

The way Randolph sticks with Heilman is another example of his ineptitude. The man has been shit his entire career, yet Willie thinks he will transform into a perfect reliever after he blows another season’s worth of close games.

It’s laughable, really.

I should have went over with him. The Mets are a jumble of terrible trades and overhyped players.

>>101226
Johan has been fine. Not stellar, but fine. He's been getting into a groove, so he'll be fine.

IF ONLY THE METS COULD FUCKING SCORE MORE THAN THREE RUNS A GAME.

We're the team to beat! Aren't I witty, guise? Guise?

Man, it pissed me off so much when he said that. How about shut the fuck up and win, jackass.

Why do I support this team? I bet my wife is gonna be a dominatrix, I obviously love suffering.

I sound like a Cubs fan. This is terrible.

How to fix the Mets in 3 easy steps:

1) Designate Heilman for assignment
2) Fire Randolph
3) Force starters to pitch at least 7 innings

Presto! First Place!

4. Acquire a young Lineup Jolter like Carlos Gomez.
5. Trade some half-decent prospects for a Middle Reliever.

every single mets fan that post online is a whining faggot.
"OH WOE IS ME MY TEAM ISN'T THAT GOOD. THOUGHT JOSE REYES WAS THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST WHY HAVEN'T WE WON A WORLD SERIES YET WE'VE BEEN PLAYING FOR 2 MONTHS ALREADY. I THINK THE DIAMONDBACKS HAVE ALREADY WON TWO WORLD SERIES AT THIS POINT IN THE SEASON AND IT LOOKS LIKE THE CUBS ARE GONNA WIN ONE BY THE END OF MAY"

You must have been absent for 2007.

2007 season = 2008 season thus far.

It's carryover. It never left them. It's the same shit.

forgive me for being bothered when the team I support does not preform well.

>>101264
Fernando Martinez shows promise but he's like 12 years old.
>> Anonymous
>>101267
it's not that it bothers you when the mets lose, it's that you guys never have anything positive to say about them whatsoever. pick a new sport and/or a new team if it makes you so god damn miserable.
>> Señor Anonymous
>>101277
I have a man-love for Moises Alou. Does that count?

I know what you mean, it's just difficult. I really think the team would preform better under a manager who enjoys baseball. Willie is a fucking moron who cannot manage a team, more specifically a bullpen.

I always support the Mets, but showering them with encomium that is undeserved doesn't really make them a better team.

that's the only met who isn't a huge disappointment. but to be fair everyone who isn't a moron knew david wright and jose reyes could never live up the hype that surrounded them. they're still young and they'll be good but there's no way they're half as good as the media wants them to be
>> Anonymous
>>101299
>david wright and jose reyes
>jose reyes

Fix'd. I'm unbiased here. Wright is good, Reyes is overhyped.
>> Señor Anonymous
>>101299
>>101301
Agreed, for now. They are indeed young, and they haven't hit their prime. Once they do, they will be formidable players. It's only a matter of time.

The reason Reyes is overhyped is because of 2006, where he had an incredible offensive year for a young leadoff man. He keeps trying to hit home runs so he chases bad pitches. He needs to learn to stay within himself.

Also, Church is a beast. I don't know how he does it, but the man is a monster composed of win.
>> Anonymous
>>101301
no they're both good. reyes is probably the more overhyped of the two but wright isn't the mecca of third base people like to pretend he is. at least not yet
>> Señor Anonymous
I'm not sure how to take Pelfrey's outing today. He pitched ridiculously well, but he had a similar start in Atlanta late last year, yet he's been the same ol' Mike since the season started.

This kid is confusing.
>> Anonymous
today was an utter clusterfuck

jose reyes trying to take an extra base on a sacrafice with nobody out, getting tagged out at third because he didn't even slide

beltran running on contact from third with one out, producing a double play on a line drive

wright and beltran not even running out a pop fly that fell in and could've meant a run when it was still 0-0

plus, with heilman, randolph has his head up his ass, everyone knows it.

pelfrey pitched a good game

I will agree with everyone that the Mets are laughable, but shifting your allegiance to another team is gayer than two guys making out in a San Francisco Park.

Stick with your team through all the shit they go through.

agreed 100%

If you're the type of fan thats gonna bitch about one season, much less one game, then I don't want you wearing my colors. I don't want you at my stadium rooting for my team.

I would expect this thread from a Yankees fan, maybe even a Braves fan, but never a Mets fan. If you get disappointed by the Mets losing, then you seriously need to brush up on your Mets history.

Be a fan. Stick with your team no matter what. If you're bitch about a couple tough loses and you can't be a man, then you're supporting the wrong New York team.

ITT a bandwagon fan jumps off, and people BAWWW. I've been a Reds fan for the past 20 years, been called a bandwagoner when they were winning and a fool as I support them now as they play and get managed like shit. Who cares? Root for the team you want to, and let everyone else do the same.

i also concur with. i was post>>101418

sure i'm pissed about losing 3 of 4 to the nats, but i'm not jumping ship. i'm used to this, it makes the winning years that much sweeter when we feel like we've suffered lol

wagner is the man though, this from today after the game:

"Can someone tell me why the fuck the closer's being interviewed when I didn't even play," Wagner told the reporters.

Wagner then turned and pointed toward the opposite side of the room, in the direction of the locker of Delgado and Beltran.

"You should be talking to those guys over there," Wagner continued. "Oh, they're not there (shit) big shock."

i really don't mind the mets fans at all and this is coming from a lifelong braves fan. it's those fucking faggots in philly that get me riled up. their whole "we cheer hard every play and expect the same from our athletes" shtick gets old fast. like they're the only fans on the planet that expect "their" players to play hard. shut the fuck up acting like your fandom has any baring on anything that goes on on the field
