/sp/'s top 10 rankings:

1.) Ohio State-I think that with the talent they have returning they ought to be ranked #1. If they beat USC, they'll play for a third consecutive NC.
2.) Georgia-They were great towards the end of last year and that momentum will carry over this year.
3.) Florida-A lot of their key pieces returning.
4.) Oklahoma-They have probably the best O-Line in the nation. Defense is very solid.
5.) USC-Despite losing some great talent in the draft, they'll still be amazing.
6.) West Virginia - Pat White, Noel Devine, etc.
7.) LSU-National Champs will make another run.
8.) Missouri-Daniel and Maclin are two potential Heisman winners.
9.) Auburn-That tough Auburn defense will still be there. This year they have a new OC who will implement a spread offense.
10.) Clemson-favs to win the ACC

I can't tell if you're trolling or not. Some of them seem like troll-worthy picks, and some seem sensible..

LSU fag here

With the players that we had leave for the NFL, coupled with our QB situation, we're not a top 10 team. Top 15-yes but we are not a top 10 team.

2008 will be a rebuilding year for LSU.

I could see Ohio State taking on Georgia in the final, with Ohio State getting demolished yet again by an SEC team that is naturally bigger and faster due to their conference.

If Ohio State and Oklahoma meet in the NC will they find a way for both teams to lose?

Soonerfag here

The O-Line really is amazing. I think every starter on the O-Line will have at least an undrafted free agent deal with an NFL team at some point, and Duke Robinson/Phil Loadholt are practically first day locks.

The defense is usually solid, but there are a ton of question marks, such as DeMarcus "The Coat Thief" Granger staying out of trouble, LB Ryan Reynolds staying healthy, replacing Reggie Smith(R3 draftee), Marcus Walker, and DJ Wolfe in the secondary, and replacing Curtis Lofton(R2 Draftee) and Lewis Baker in our linebacker corps. There are enough question marks on the D that I am approaching this season with cautious optimism.

Forunately, Texas looks to be having a down year and we won't have to play Missouri twice, so this very well could be an NCG year, and a win if we are lucky enough to draw Ohio State or some crappy ACC team.

OSU #1? What world do you live in? OSU has proved they are not a national championship team. Enjoy your Big 10 blinders.

More than likely it'll go into 8 scoreless OTs until someone calls it a tie.

Nope remember two years ago a game went into OT until a score was met at 1:30 am. So its going to be a game with no end.

I think after losing in the national championship twice in a row Ohio State will do all they can to truly be the best in the nation. Maybe they'll get there, maybe they won't.

Related note: If Texas had to play an SEC team in the national championship in 2005 would they have won? Maybe OSU will be lucky enough to not have to play an SEC team should they get to the championship.

I have no top 10 rankings. I am not knowledgeable enough.

In spite of that, I'll brag on my own school. We have a great coach coming to Baylor. A guy with a good history of turning around programs. He did it at Houston very quickly and has a good record before that, too. And from what I've heard (articles in local papers) about his offseason at Baylor, (recruits, personnel changes, practices and more) it looks like he's got this team headed in the right direction.

And I know that it's not hard to improve upon 3-9 and no conference wins. In before that, in before no one cares, and in before Christfag-bashing.

tl;dr: Things won't be the same last season as they were this season. Use this sekrit knowledge when making your "predictions." Also maybe OSU won't play an SEC team in the championship.

As opposed to the last two years, where they just said, "fuck it, who cares"?

Good point.

Sorry, I just always have had an issue with the platitude of "they got close, so now they're going to try EXTRA hard, wheee!" Nothing against you.

On another note, though, Briles is a pretty good hire. Anybody who can coach Houston to 10 wins knows what he's doing (you should pray he's brought over a bit of offensive magic from his time w/Mike Leach).

Ah, yes, Tech. Tech always beat us worse than UT. They're monsters.

Under Guy Morriss I always heard our offense compared to Tech's but that was laughable. I heard that Briles will improve upon the offense he inherited as opposed to a complete overhaul. Should be interesting!

Wisconsin deserves a spot at 8 or 9.

Matt Shaughnessy will be an allAmerican at D-End, and the Badgers get PJ Hill back, they get their entire receiving corps and the only two losses at starting positions are Jak Ikegwuonu at corner, and Donovan at QB, but this year's QB, Alan Evridge, is arguably better, and he's a transfer from KSU.
