How was Johnathan Horton's High Bar Difficulty less than the Chinese? Any gymnastics people can explain that for me?
>> Anonymous
refs... cheating... etc...
>> Anonymous
He doesn't have slits for eyes, making it easier to see, and thus easier overall. I'm surprised you missed them explaining that.
>> Anonymous
his routine was basically 3 releases and nothing else. shouldve added some other crap. oh well, i'm sure he's happy with it
>> ??? !3pAzZyulKo
>>274833
I think he didn't do a variety of skills, instead he just did some high risk releases.

But still, he was robbed and the Chinese should be ashamed.
>> Anonymous
He is a faggot who goes to OU. Fuck him.
>> Anonymous
he fucked up the landing fuck him
>> Anonymous
He also did an little hop after he landed so that took away the points he needed to win the gold.
>> Anonymous
He did well during the team competition but he is also a colossal faggot (even by male gymnast standards) and made our entire country look back with his "USA yea-uhh!" and "We swimmin in da river tonight BOI!" chest-beating.

That said, derp.

Realitve the women's uneven bars yesterday, this one wasn't so bad.

agreed ... idiots who dont know shit.

The Chinese dude had a higher degree of difficulty - and even with the higher degree of difficulty - if the Amerikkkan had stuck his landing, the Amerikkkan would have won.

So stop BBBBBAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWW
>> Anonymous
remember when that hamm faggot refused to return a medal he didn't actually win?

i guess it's even now. horton is a tremendous faggot anyway

Even though he's gay midget, he could probably kill you with a single punch.

lol yeah ok. i can agree whole heartedly that the girls have no right to win that many gold medals but i think that the chinese men deserved theirs. It doesn't hurt that the chinese had higher starting values.
>> Anonymous
>>274913
>>274930
That's what I'm asking about, what made their starting difficulty harder? I thought Horton's looked way harder, and as a gymnastics noob I am confused as to why
>> Anonymous

>>274938
Kai Zou from China had a difficulty of 7.2
Jonathan Horton from the US had a difficulty of 6.9

And Kai only won by 0.025 over Horton. If Horton would have stuck his landing, he would have won. It is simple as that.

Pic related.
>> ??? !3pAzZyulKo
>>274938
Horton's entire routine was essentially 3 releases. It looked cool as shit, but probably wasn't THAT difficult.

Like the other guy said, either stick your landing, or add some other shit in there to take the decision out of the judges hands.
>> Anonymous
>>274938
difficulty depends on what and how many moves they include and it goes by the rules in the book. to a noob ANYTHING will look difficult but in gymnastics world the chinese gymnast had a higher difficulty rating because of what it is included in his routine. The execution scores however are always up to debate.
>> Anonymous
I don't know who came up with this new scoring system, but it really sucks. Your starting score should be lowered if you can't pull of the tricks well.
>> ??? !3pAzZyulKo
>>274976
But the Chinese guy DID pull off all his tricks, so you really don't have much room to RAAAGGGE.
>> Kilgamayan !2BklmILFiE
The NBC broadcast team actually said that "the judges got this one right". If they're not bitching, I don't see how anyone here can be.
>> Anonymous
>>274956
every single judge gave horten a bigger score, yep the chinese are cheating
>> Anonymous
>>274956
Dude we get it, it's just that we STILL think it's bullshit because Horton's routine was HARDER. I don't care about the faggoty technical aspects, nigga was doin flips galore, how is that shit worth .3 less? Because it's in China, that's why. They've been fucking around with Shawn Johnson's start numbers all week too, and everybody saw Sacramone flat out get robbed, stop taking up for blatant cheating. Faggots can type bawww all they want, leave it to silly eurofags to bend over and take it up the ass with no complaints, that aint America's style friendo, and it's only their butthurt in general that leads to all the talk of butthurt now when we've been getting robbed all... week... long.
>> marla singerman !!RL8M/S4sWrk
>>274918
uh
once again
this is the third time i'll have posted this
that korean dude did four holds, one more than he was allowed
and therefore, he should have gotten a two-tenths deduction. however he didn't and hamm got the medal. so even if the judges weren't "SUPER OMG HAXXORING" and they did their jobs correctly, hamm would have won anyway
>> Anonymous
>>274976
>>Your starting score should be lowered if you can't pull of the tricks well.

The Chinese guy - Kai - pulled off all his 'tricks' otherwise his difficulty score wouldnt be 7.2 . Kai's second score (execution score) of 8.80 was much lower than Horton's second score of 9.1 .

But guess what, if you do harder skills, you should be rewarded for trying those harder skills.
>> ??? !3pAzZyulKo
>>275008
Ok I kinda felt the same thing at first but, Horton's routine was NOT that difficult.

If you look at his routine again, it was essentially just 3 big releases and nothing else. If you want to get gold with that routine, you've got to be perfect, which he was not.
>> Anonymous
>>275041
Exactly. If horton just stuck his routine he would have ended up with the gold no questions asked.
>> Anonymous
>>275041
neither was the chink kid's then, i'd rather go balls out and just dick around with technical faggotry
>> Anonymous
>>275028
If you pulled them off.
The new scoring system favors on difficulty too heavily and ignoring the execution for the most part. You shouldn't medal if you had a major fall or look fucking sloppy all around.

Jesus Christ, the men's individual AA was a fucking horror to watch. Yang Wei won because he was only one who didn't fuck up his shit badly, only problem he said were some of his landings.
>> ??? !3pAzZyulKo
>>275079
The Chink added a bunch of shit to his routine as well. The commentators made a note of this when he got on the bars.

Come on now, I love America as much as the next guy, but this whining is getting out of hand.
>> Anonymous
>>275109
Wow, ??? (how do you say that in Chinese? I only know moon) telling Americans to stop whining?

What is the world coming to?
>> Kilgamayan !2BklmILFiE
>>275080

I'd like to see next year's scores be Difficulty Score + (1.5 x Execution Score) or something similar (maybe 1.25 instead of 1.5). Hopefully the IOC will look at this and think "Hmm, we're on the right track, but we're not they're yet" and consider weighting the Execution Score a little more than the Difficulty Score.
>> Anonymous
Horton wasn't expected to medal, either with the team or as an individual, so for him to bring home a silver and a bronze is pretty fucking sweet.
>> Anonymous
>>275119
That means American.
>> Anonymous
>>275150
I KNOW it means American, I was asking how you pronounce it in Chinese
>> Anonymous
>>275119
may gwo ren

Inb4 LOL NO CHING CHONG CHING
>> Anonymous
I think it should be more like diving. execution x degree of difficulty. should tone down the difficulty though. 6s and 7s are too high for multipliers. Diving is like around 3.0s - 3.6s
>> Anonymous
>>275167
But it IS ching chong ching :/
>> Anonymous
As much as the Americans have gotten screwed by the judging, this isn't one of them. His routine was relatively easy and the Chinese simply deserve the gold.
>> Anonymous
>>275167
If you go off of pinyin, its mei guo ren. But that really doesnt help with pronunciation...

I hate this little fratboy faggot.
