"Ortiz top vote-getter as BoSox, Yanks dominate All-Star voting

Red Sox and Yankees players dominated early voting for the American League squad in the July 15 contest.

David Ortiz

Ortiz

Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz had the most votes with 556,567, while teammate Manny Ramirez was second to top all outfielders.

Boston had the leaders at first base in Kevin Youkilis and second base in Dustin Pedroia. The Yanks' Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez were No. 1 at shortstop and third base, respectively.

Jason Varitek gave the Red Sox another top vote-getter at catcher."

Nah, Ortiz deserves it, and Manny deserves it because he's so fun to watch. I don't think Youkilis, Pedroia, Varitek, Rodriguez, and Jeter deserve it though.

I didn't even know All-Star voting started yet

allstar game is a popularity contest more than it's about skillful players.

bandwagon fans vote online over and over and over

i just don't give a shit

>Youkilis

He deserves is without a doubt. Varitek as the starting catcher is a joke. Even as a Soxfag I didn't vote for him.

its obviously gonna have plenty of yanks cuz its at yankee stadium, i think francona tried to bring on alot of red sox in 2005 but was kinda hindered by every team needing one representative.

MLB needs to get rid of fan voting.

Ortiz, Ramirez, Jeter, Pedroia and Varitek don't deserve it.

I'll either agree or disagree with that statement depending on if Cliff Lee is selected for the All-Star Game or not

No shit. They need to get rid of all fan voting.

Jesus Christ, the Yankees are in last place and yet they are getting all star votes?

It's like when Shaq made the all star game a few years back despite being injured most of the season.

Fuck fan voting. You are all idiots.

That's the point. If Cliff is selected, I'll support fan voting, but if he's not I'll support the notion of it being done away with.

Well ain't that a bitch! I say 4chan does something good for once and bring justice to the world by voting for the players who actually deserve to be in the all star game, hows that sound? No? Fine have your little Yankees/Boston Vs. Mets/Dodgers game then
