LEAVE OKLAHOMA CITY TO ME

Seattle doesn't deserve an NBA team. Unfortunately, OKC deserves one even less.

They should've gone to Vegas or Kansas City.

KC = small market, saturated (MLB and NFL)
OKC = smaller market, but untapped. Includes the Tulsa market too.

another team in KC doesn't make any sense

I've also heard KC was aiming more towards hockey anyway.

OKC is currently the only proven NBA market out there that isn't tarnished for some reason -- past failed franchises or sports betting -- and the NBA loves to put teams in small markets where they're the only game in town.

Hell, I'd expect to see teams in, say, Norfolk or Louisville before KC or Vegas.

Richmond would be good, too. The Squires had a pretty good following, IIRC. VA deserves a pro sports team.

I blame Howard Shits. Selling the team to someone out of state? What was he thinking? Some people will say it's the fan's fault for not coming to games, but tits be damned if I can afford it. I feel like that's a problem a lot these days dealing with sports. I just want my Sonics back. I'll still cheer for that OKC team though.

AND NOTHING OF VALUE WAS LOST

I genuinely think that Bennett bought the team at Stern's bequest as a ploy to make Seattle cave and build a new arena -- Seattle wouldn't play ball with local owners, but maybe they'd buckle if there was a real threat of relocation looming.

The Sonics would have a decent venue, Bennet would be rewarded with the Grizzlies or Hornets, and the NBA would remain in the 12th TV market.

Things didn't work out that way, of course, but I believe that was the original intention.

KC will never get an NBA or NHL team
NBA: Already has KU, NBA won't put a team so close to OKC
NHL: Hockey fans in KC? LOLWUT?

Also the Sprint Center is the most overrated arena in America, the only good thing about it are the bars outside.

>NHL: Hockey fans in KC? LOLWUT?

I doubt it's so much that they WANT hockey, it's just that they've got an expensive new arena that needs a tenant, but they'll never get the NBA.

Maybe they'll get the WNBA.

KC fans want Basketball that you can actually get tickets to

That' the problem with KC, all the idiots who run the city thought "DURRR All we need is a new arena, and teams will want to come"
They forgot that KC sucks as a sports town, fairweather fans everywhere. Chiefs have held their own, but even now their fans are starting to abandon the team. And there are no rich people in KC, at least not rich enough to buy a franchise like OKC's pimp did.
