JUST AS PLANNED.

Chris Kaman had a great season before the season-ending injury last season. He doesn't want Elton Brand coming back stealing his thunder this time around. There's no reason why yet (we'll see later).

So he made Brand opt out (behind the scenes) and worked a deal with Baron (ditto), telling Brand and Davis that they can do something like the Celtics did. On the outside people are thinking that Brand and B.Diddy are going to play for the Clippers because of the Elton influence. Kaman also thinks that all the random threes that Baron chucks whenever he feels like it will increase his rebounding numbers.

But Kaman convinced David Falk that since Elton wants to play for a team that has more potential success, he should leave to the 76ers. Meanwhile he tries to get an alibi by getting a German passport while preparing for the Olympics qualifiers. He told Dunleavy to contact directly with Brand in discussing the deal instead, which Dunleavy did. Then David Falk gets pissed, and relocated Elton Brand to the 76ers.

When Brand bolted, Davis was obviously pissed but Kaman assured to the bearded one that there will be a replacement. Davis told him that unless Kaman comes up with something within the next two days, he's going to the Knicks. Kaman assured that this won't happen.

This is part 1 of his plan.

Part 2 involves Kaman asking the Clippers management to throw a dozen restricted FA names into the market and even invited Josh Smith to come over to LA for a visit. Meanwhile Kaman is remote-controlling Elgin Baylor to work a deal for Marcus Camby, who is able to grab some boards, block a few shots but won't affect his points total. It's essentially getting Elton Brand with 10 points less.

Which comes to today.

People are going to credit Elgin Baylor, Dunleavy and Baron for helping out and making the Clippers competitive again. But actually, the one behind the scenes...is Chris Kaman.

The answer is simple.

Chris Kaman is going to draft himself in the upcoming season's fantasy NBA league, and the more chances he's getting to stuff his own stats, the better his fantasy team will be. Brand is going to steal points, rebounds and blocks from him and he will have reduced touches. With Camby on board, he can focus more on scoring. With B.Diddy on board, he knew that either he's getting more of the ball at good spots, or that Davis is chucking 3s again for him to rebound from (and putbacks maybe).

Just as planned, Kaveman, just as planned...

Hes losing rebounds and blocks with Camby in there though, to up his scoring production? Nobody in Fantasy Basketball gives a fuck about scoring, only the other stats, scoring just comes on the side.

Your theory sucks.

Why would he care about fantasy basketball if he is playing the actual game?

yeah this is pretty fucking stupid

in fantasy, each stat counts just as much as the rest. yeah he'll probably score more, while the FG% goes down and he'll also commit more turnovers.

not to mention you can pretty much bank on either kaman or camby to miss 20+ games due to injury next season. who knows, maybe it'll happen to both of them.
