ITT: The players that would have absolutely dominated their sports if they were able to stay healthy.

I'll start it off with Griffey.

Your muscle control progressively deteriorating does

And he did absolutely dominate in the for like a year when Ruth was old and he wasn't dying.

Lou Gehrig was never healthy, the ALS started affecting him 5 years before he retired, and when he got X-rays he had several broken bones.

He just wasn't a pansy faggot like today's athletes

Copper Manning ftw

Griffey is a top ten player of all time period. Injuries kept him from being the greatest ever. Seriously, this is like trying to say Magic Johnson would have dominated the NBA had he not gotton AIDS. They both DID dominate. Better examples would be Kurt Warner, Grant Hill, Len Bias (if you consider death to be an injury), Bo jackson...

I'm glad someone said this.

Had he never been injured, his career would be completely different. He wouldn't have become such a pussy on the ice, Clarke would never have called him out, and he'd still be wearing the orange and black.

Of course, the Flyers still wouldn't win a Cup.

Completely serious. The guy was so fucked up physically he had to have other players tie his skates for him and he was still scoring goals like a madman. He lost 6-7 seasons worth of play time due to cancer and other ailments.

NHL record only player to score 5 goals in different ways in one game. (shorthanded, even strength, Powerplay, Penalty shot, Empty Net) (December 31, 1988 against the New Jersey Devils)

Lets see someone else pull that off.

Lemieux Goals -- 690 Games -- 915 GPG .7541
Gretzky Goals -- 894 Games -- 1487 GPG .6012

Lemieux had Francis and Jagr for a time but Gretzky had Kurri Messier and Coffey in whats probably the best team of all time for years, and Lemieux still blows him away. Suck a dick edmontonfag
