Seeing as there's probably a lot of soccer fans on here from the Champion's League clashes...

I'm looking to get excellent at soccer. I'm nineteen, 150 lbs, 6', and my physique is average, but athletic. I can run 7 miles in an hour ten, do plyometrics, have good flexibility, etc...

As for soccer, I'm alright with my left, good at passing, have good vision, great at slide tackling, alright at otherwise defending, good with my feet, and have an accurate shot. Horrible at headers.

I've been told I can play wing, second striker, attacking mid, defensive mid, and have experience playing half back.

I've heard 3 hours of ball control only will get me good fairly quick. I plan to do this (possibly more) and alternate days of running and weights, resting once or twice a week.

Tips, suggestions, anything?

If you're 19 and not at a pro club or something like it then you've really got no chance of making it pro.

Becoming good at football isn't something you can just do, it something that comes naturally over a long period of time.

All the pro's now have been playing football day in day out all their lives and its not something you can get "excellent" at.

I myself have been playing since I was 3-4 years old. From the ages of 16-18 I was at Ipswich youth academy (I left on my own will btw, something I regret every day) and could have gone pro.
