Groundshare, Pros and Cons. Serious replies I think it's a great idea as it's better for the city keeping both teams in the city and the cost will be cheaper for both teams as each will pay an equal smaller amount.

Thoughts, no retarded reshite and no bitter blues ruining this please.
>> FredtheRed !TPWlrPZQIg
Works in Italy. Only ground share I know in England is Bury and FC United, they used to play some matches at Boundary Park (Oldham Athletic) as well.

But that's League two/one sharing with Unibond Premier.

You've probably already noticed that when Liverpool play away Everton play at home and vice versa, it's the same in Manchester, so it could work weekends. But midweek if both were in Europe. Plus there is the fan aspect. I'd be pretty pissed if we started using the council house, or City playing OT, despite us ground sharing just after the war.

Ground's are part of a teams identity, short term solution it could work, long term, nah...

True, it's just for economic gain really. Would be nice to see everton stay in the city but at the moment It would damage the clubs future.

Italy is a joke football wise, 1 goal DEFEND DEFEND.

One major problem is the pitch condition, especially during the winter. An Average week would be like this:

Sat/Sun: League Game
Tue/Wed: Champions League Game
Thur: UEFA Euro League Game
Sat/Sun: Other teams league game.

There's no time for the pitch to recover with a shared ground. The San Siro pitch looks a right state during the winter and they have a winter break to help the pitch recover. With the amount of games played by both clubs it'd end up a mud-pit or a beach (like Chelsea's a couple years back).

Plus there's the fact that most of the fans don't want it (including me) simply because we like having our own ground, having it coloured purple or half blue/red would just feel wrong.

by the very nature of the thread, this is impossible.

anyway.. lets say we build stanley park, what's to stop Everton from skipping the rent like they did in 1892? :)

Going to Anfield and seeing half the seats.. blue?
Evertonians standing on MY Kop while we play away?

ATOMIC RAGE
also: AC Milan is going to build their own stadium, AS Roma will be the last major team in the CL to have a groundshare.

Here's an awesome idea for a groundshare.

Liverpool FC and AFC Liverpool. AFCL doesn't play any European games, and it'll be awesome for those of us who want to cheer on a 'pool team without paying the obscene price of a season ticket... AND you don't have to go almost to Wigan for an AFC match!
>> Anonymous
Liverpool and Man Utd should share a ground in Ireland since it's where most of their fanbase is anyway.
>> Anonymous
yeah right, let's see if spurs and arsenal can share theirs.

OP here forgot to add, only reply if you actually go to games. Im sorry if I made you get out of your armchair in saudi arabia.

Typically gloryhunters, and you say evertonians are bitter well it's a whole lot better than being foreign snide bastards who know so little about football it makes me laugh.

To put it into context, would I ever want to share Valley Parade with Leeds or Hudders fans?

NO, Inbred fan is inbred.
>> Wimbledon Anonymous
Wimbledon used to groundshare at Selhurst Park until they became Franchise Dons.

AFC Wimbledon moved into Kingstonians ground and then bought it when Kingstonian went into financial difficulty, they both groundshare.

Everton and City should ground share in Royston Vasey because they're local clubs for local people

I'm so scouse my house is on Kemlyn road

also: your own fans don't want a groundshare. both sets of fans are pretty much set against , thus everton's "kirkby option"

then again, hey, you know a lot about football, i mean, enough to know that groundshares are an awesome idea, eh?

Wow, you are clevered durrrrrrr. Are you too fucking dumb to read what does it say at the top of the thread..

OPINIONS > shock horror.

You are a retard or a slighty good troll, either way neither team are likely to get a new stadium otherwise, evertons fan don't want kirkby because thats a red territory and liverpool wont get one because they cant afford it.
>> rafa takes it in the shitter
>I'm so scouse my house is on Kemlyn road

Yeah and thats been in northern ireland since?...... Pics or didn't happen.

My opinion is Everton can fuck off to kirkby and we can say fuck it to the stanley park thing and stay at Anfield. New stadium isn't worth it if it means Hicks and Gilette stick around
>> rafa takes it in the shitter
>>471144

Should us scouse blues take liverpools advice, all their 100 localish fans are from kirkby they must have something there that's enticing.

Inbreds, wools or just general liverpool fc 'ness?

Underage b&. Up until 1992, the Centenary stand was called Kemlyn road, because it's on Kemlyn Road.

City-dweller here. Everton have no respect for their own ground, so if you think we'll leave the mighty Spion Kop in the hands of the bitters whilst we play in Milan or Rome, you're quite retarded. Goodison Park is a shithole, and it has been since the 80s. I stopped going to away games there because it was unpleasant to be in. The place is falling apart.

I think he was trolling the OP, since there's no Kemlyn Road anymore.

>> rafa takes it in the shitter

Funny thing is, it's closer to liverpool than any kopites will EVER be.
>> Anonymous
liverpool: we fill our stadium every single match, so we should get a new stadium with a higher capacity

everton: our ground is a shithole, and we can't do anything about it because we built it on a church.

LATER THAT DAY

everton: we have plans for a 45,000 seater in kirkby.

liverpool: we have plans for a 60,000 seater in stanley park.

everton: OH SHIT WE HAVE NO MONEY, can we use your ground?

liverpool: HAR HAR HAR

You're only allowed to say that when you actually sell out your ground. I just watched the Boro game, and there were thousands of empty seats. You have no excuse, unless the bitters all committed suicide when Rooney got sold.
>> rafa takes it in the shitter
>>471168

Hah oh wow, this is like WW2 england versus european nations!

Thing is if you have a large stadium in a city you'd expect to be able to fill it, with all your fans coming from anywhere but the local area they have to buy flights, accomadation for the match and the tickets.

New stadiums cost money (add lame poor everton joke here) and as such you'll jack up the ticket price meaning the majority of your fanbase will think twice about coming to games, everton can fill a 45k seater as we have fans from liverpool and the liverpool urban areas eg : knowsley etc.
>> Anonymous
>everton can fill a 45k seater

HAHAHAHA, OH WOW

so ? the ticket price will go up for BOTH sets of fans, you idiot. That stadium costs near half a billion pounds now, you know.

jesus but if both teams pay a set amount it wont be as much as a single team paying it, you thought that through.

a groundshare benefits Everton too much. What do Liverpool get out of this arrangement? Halfsies on the rent?

WE KNOW YOUR HISTORY TOO WELL WHEN IT COMES TO THE RENT, BLUESHITE!

Unless you bitters haven't noticed, LFC has MILLIONS of fans. That's what happens when you're a big club.

If New Anfield could sit 70,000 the norwegians and irishmen you despise so much could still fill it up and still leave room for locals on the new, larger, Kop.
