Why do people watch this sport?

90 minutes a game ... and you'll often see a 1-0 score? Sometimes they even allow the game to end in a tie.

Also, unless I'm missing something, it just seems to be a mindless back-and-forth, and between two fairly equal teams, more depedent on luck to get that one goal.

I can say the same of hockey, but hockey at least people collide and fight much more often.

Because there's nothing else to do in Yoorup.

... or Mexico, Brazil, Asia, Argentina or Australia.

they've altered some hockey rules in order to give players a better shot at scoring goals.

Here is a hint: It's not all about the score. It's about the play, the invidual skill, teamwork - that is, a team's ability to anticpate eachother, move together, catch the opponents off-guard, there is so much in this sport.
It's counter-intuiative at first, but once you learn to focus on the right things, there is alot of enjoyment to be had watching football.

OP try and tell that to the 2 billion people who watch it.

hockey players wear body armor, soccer players have a lot of injuries while trying to keep a sense of sportsmanship. find a match where someone doesn't get dropped cleanly on a challenge at least once every few minutes, then i'll say you found a shitty match.

Hockey is rarely a 1-0 game. Plus play time is shorter and ties are impossible.

It's a boring sport with moments of brilliance. I've got little time for it tbh.

The only sports i can watch are Football (European) and Super League Rugby.

Everything else is usually quite mundane and boring to me.

For me its the tactical interplay of attempting todefeat an opponent rather than 'omg wuts defence lets all go attack and score 50 goals each lolz'.
