Hey /sp/,With the addition of Santana, is this their year? Do they have it over the Phillies and (*cough*) the Braves?
Well they certainly had the most meaningful additions, which would make them the favorites. Then again, there is a reason they play the games. My guess is that it really hinges on how effective Pedro is now.
>>2427My guess is he's only going to be a 15-20 game winner this season. While still good, it's certainly not the caliber we've seen him in previous years.
Someone who only plays once every 5 days isn't going to save your team from poor management and players who are too lazy to run out a ground ball. You choked against St. Louis in 2006 and you choked against....Like 10 teams and lost the division in 07. There's no reason to believe this team will stop choking.
>>2465A lot of that was circumstantial last year. Injuries + cold streaks (reyes/delgado/alou/green etc.) contributed to an overall shitty end to a shaky season. I think a lack of confidence and a overall cold streak going into the playoffs contributed to their choking. Hopefully in the new season we won't suffer from the problems that plagued the team last season.
We'll see you in he NLCS OP.
>>2516Good luck getting there, tough division.
>>2540the Cardinals truly did nothing to improve over an awful season last year, and the Cubs just got older. The division is ripe for the taking Milwaukee.
>>2443Santana is going to annihilate National League hitting.>>2399OP, fellow Met Fan. I think the division is ours.
>>2465The Mets are renewed, they aren't going to allow what>>2503said happen again.
>>2465You call losing a series in 7 games choking? Choking would be a sweep, or 4-1 at most.
Fuck yeah, we're gonna do it!
>>2582Second
>>2399We will take it all in the final year of Shea!
The new stadium will suck total ass.
Phillies have the division won.
>>2580It is possible to choke in 7 games.See: 2004 Yankees
>>2762I sure hope sofuck citipark i cant even afford to go to a met game once it opens lol
>>2810yankees did indeed choke, but the mets did not give away the game in the same manner. Beltran watched a mean fucking strike fly by him. alot of people agree that was a fucking tough one to swing at
