Tennessee is going to win the championship this year. Thus hopefully getting the SEC the respect they deserve. How many times do we have to kick everybody's ass before people start giving us some respect? We have been stomping Ohio State for how many years now in basketball and football?

How is the SEC any better in Basketball than the ACC, Big East, OR Pac-10?

How many years in a row have the SEC won the championship now? And how many years have they been in the sweet 16? And no competition? Are u fucking joking? If we have no competition then why is it when we get in a big game situation like Ohio State, no one gives us a chance. And then we shitstomp them. We may not be as good in basketball as football but we are getting there. And we own football now. Look how many teams in the SEC went to bowl games and won. And the national championship? Wasn't even a challenge. Give us the respect that we deserve or we will just keep beating the shit out of your conferences until u do

>How many years in a row have the SEC won the championship now?

One. Florida. Before that North Carolina (ACC) won over Illinois (Big Ten), and before that UConn (Big East) won over Georgia Tech (ACC).

>And how many years have they been in the sweet 16? And no competition? Are u fucking joking?

Not as many times as the other conferences. I never said they had no competition, i was referring to Memphis, who is NOT in the SEC. They are in the Conference USA. ooooh congrats on beating Houston.

>If we have no competition then why is it when we get in a big game situation like Ohio State, no one gives us a chance. And then we shitstomp them. We may not be as good in basketball as football but we are getting there.

You act as if this is a regular occurrence. Maybe you should look at NCAA Basketball before 2006.

>And we own football now. Look how many teams in the SEC went to bowl games and won. And the national championship? Wasn't even a challenge.

I was never debating football. The SEC is the toughest conference in football right now, but don't tell me that its the best in basketball.

>Give us the respect that we deserve or we will just keep beating the shit out of your conferences until u do

Until you stop spewing facts out of your ass, you won't get it.

sorry samefag here, i meant to say Florida won two in a row, before you blast me. Thats it though. One team doesn't constitute a good conference.

Well Memphis doesnt have alot of competition i suppose but UT does. And Memphis is good. I do agree that they prolly wont win the whole thing but they are definitely good. They did well last year too. I'm pretty sure UT can take em though. And I'm not saying SEC is a good conference because of 1 team. I'm saying it because it's a proven fact. I'll give it to ya that they are not outstanding in Men's basketball. Women's on the other hand, UT owns. But football my friend, we own. U can look up all the stats u want and its just gonna prove my point. They have more teams in the top 25 and win more bowl games than anybody. We had I think 1 team not go to a bowl game this year. And we only lost 2 i do believe. And btw, I hate Florida. I would rather see anybody win than them. I wasn't taking up for Florida or Memphis. But I love UT. Just taking up for the SEC. Some people on here need to actually watch some games and stop going entirely off what u read on espn.com

Again, No one was debating football, so its a moot point.

I like UT, i think they're a good team. Same with Memphis, but i think they are overrated just because they play teams like Houston and East Carolina while teams like Duke or UNC are playing Georgia Tech and Wake Forrest.

Also no one is giving the Big East any credit in Basketball. Uconn is going to be a sleeper hit in the tournament, count on it.

Or tripfags.

Signed. The SEC easily has the loudest and most obnoxious fans; they're still pissed about losing the Civil War. The SEC is just middle of the road these days (in basketball), and I've had to point out who Tennessee lost to SO many times on this board, I think I've already jinxed it. But Memphis just has a better team-style of play, that should get them far in the regular season... before and east-coast team smallballs 'em to death.

Houston/UCF/UAB are not pushover teams. They're actually pretty tough. Top 25 in football means something, because it's out of 119 teams. In basketball, there's 381.

>Also no one is giving the Big East any credit in Basketball.

That's because we're not sure which of the Big East's 37 teams to root for.
>> Anonymous
lol, C-USA is weak in basketball because all of our basketball schools got looted by the Big East. The rest of the schools are football/baseball oriented. The big obsession over basketball is because conferences like the ACC are shit in everything else. There's something wrong when the championship game is between the two teams you stole from the Big East.

C-USA has only been stuck in their current line-up for, what, 2-3 years?

This will result in one of two things-- (1) Memphis will start to suck, due to playing inferior opponents most of the season, or (2) the rest of the league will start to get better, due to playing Memphis every season.

Because of Memphis's fierce tradition and constant scheduling of tough-ass non-conference opponents, I think it's far more likely to be (2).
