Cisco Field Anonymous
A's official announce plans to build a new stadium in Fremont, California. The stadium will be named Cisco Field and be filled with high tech gagets up the wazoo.

My favorite part was the huge fucking screen behind the scoreboard. One of the plans is to allow people to watch away games on the it outside the stadium, or on sell outs.

Simply put, it looks awesome.

This looks so much better than that older design with the fucking triangle bleachers in left field.

Anyway, they still need to fix the public transit thing.

lol, two death valleys in right-center and left-center. HR's will go die at the 410 signs. Unless baseball players shoot up on roids or there is a massive amount of wind blowing out of the park, no one is hitting anything out of the gaps.

Also, batter's eye video screen is a blatant rip-off of San Diego's video screen + park area? Bricks imported from St. Louis? Bleacher seating on top of buildings taken from Chicago? Next thing you know, they'll be stealing those huge walls from Boston, Houston, and Florida.

Won't be as good as New Busch.

How does bricks = St. Louis? Every stadium built since 1992 has incorporated a brick facade. But I agree with you, the roof bleachers are kind of lame. It's like they're trying to create the effect that they shoehorned the field in between pre-existing buildings, when this complex will be the only thing taller than three stories for about a mile in any direction.

And yes, wind should be blowing towards the outfield. Home plate will face inland from the bay, so unless the stands create some crazy turbulence (think Candlestick) it shouldn't be a problem.

And after that, they'll dig a big lake for HR hitters to hit baseballs in.

Right, and I'm sure when everyone sees a brick they think of the baker bowl.

As many people that think of Busch stadium.

For some reason, all new sports stadiums lack that luster that old venues have. I wonder why...

Oh wait, I remember. THEIR NAMES ARE LAME AS FUCK.

I'm well aware that the money from companies is what funds new stadiums, and they're well within their right to name the places after themselves, but 98% of the time they're horrible names.

Cisco Field? Ugh. Safeco Field? Double Ugh. Tropicana Dome? Fucking shoot me already.

I'd take Fenway Park, Yankee Stadium, Madison Square Garden, etc anyday over the (Generic Business Name)Stadium/Park/Field anyday.

I actually think that Cisco Field is a good stadium name. Maybe its cause its also a name, unlike most corperate names nowdays.

Apparently more than the baker bowl, one guy here already defined stadium bricks as St. Louis' trademark.

One random guy who happens to be a homer defines it as a trademark...RIGHT. Go take a poll of baseball fans and see how many even realize Busch stadium has anything other than beer.

Busch Stadium has BEER?!

At least Cisco isn't a company that will be bought out/changing its name anytime soon (like what happened to a certain nearby stadium).

What the fuck else are they going to call it? Wolff Park? Jerry Brown Is An Asshole Field?

I vote for Jerry Brown Is An Asshole Field, a truley awesome stadium name!

Jerry Brown Is An Asshole Field... rolls off the tounge just nicely.
