durr hurr, let's combine 27 different european teams because i am butt hurt ruopean country with no medals.

even though i would be illegal for a single team like USA or CHINA to enter more than 1 team.

What about the combination of 53 states?
And the USA isn't listed, they are counted as part of he NAFTA.

NAFTA? No way we're gonna be lumped in with that deadweight!

If Europe constitutes the 50 European countries, why is there only a North America? We should be able to combine all 35 of the countries in both Americas.
>> Anonymous
>>243687
STFU about NAFTA, you say that as if it was a excuse for EU to be counted, Canda doesn't even have any fucking medals and NAFTA is only 3 countries. No, putting NAFTA in your shitty tables doesn't make it right.

USA is a country with 53 "provinces" but is a united COUNTRY nonetheless.

Are you going to call foul play on China because they have over a billion people to chose athletes from?

Why don't you go bitch at Russia for being such a huge country?

states are not countries numb nuts, they all have to follow the same federal laws, all have the same currency and all have the same president, and congressional body. That is like saying how dare you count all the cities in spain as one country.

WHEN EUROPE DECIDES TO HAVE A SINGLE OLYMPIC COMMITTEE AND ENTER A SINGLE TEAM, THEN I WILL ACCEPT YOUR "EUROPEAN TEAM" BULLSHIT.

If there were a European Union that united to compete in the olympics, you wouldn't see this many medals as the shops indicate. Since most events only allow one team per country, the "EU" could only send that one team. Meaning there would only be one team in any event, and there would only be one medal possible from that. The current tally takes multiple medals from some events and all of the events have more than one team saturating the field.

The AU has 53 members, that's what I was after.

Hong Kong has its own NOC and it's own team entered SEPARATELY in the medal table.

Notice how Chinese Taipei medals are not stacked with China.

And Macau has never fielded its own olympic team, EVER.

In boxing, judo, taekwondo and wrestling, two bronze medals were awarded in each weight class. Additionally, a tie for third in the men's 100 m backstroke meant that two bronze medals were awarded in that event. Therefore, the total number of bronze medals is greater than the total number of gold and silver medals.

In some competitions, multiple bronzes are awarded. For example, to each semi-final loser.

I guess that's understandable instead of having the 3 vs 4 team to see who the real bronze winner should be.
