Can you say underrated? Complete game at ATL. Not to mention quick as fuck. As soon as the catcher throws him the ball, he goes in the wind-up. They calculated that he threw a pitch every seven seconds in tonights game. The ballgame only lasted 2 hours and 18 minutes.
Ben Sheets isn't really underrated. I think the reason he doesn't get any respect is because every game he's a pitch away from the DL. If he could stay healthy, he would likely be winning the NL Cy Young every year, but it seems like he can't stay healthy.
>>184840fair enough, he has missed a season of games over the last five years.Still, I think playing in Milwaukee and not NY or BAWSTON or LA is hurting his publicity. Same thing happened for the Baseball God Robin Yount. 2 time Golden Glove winner at two different positions (CF and SS), as well as the AL MVP twice. At two different positions. But then again David Justice got more publicity than old Robin because he donned pinstripes.
>>184844I'm a Jays fan, and I will give Yount a lot of credit. He was one of the greatest hitters of all time.
>>184844Yeah, I agree. If he were on a big market team such as NY, BOS, LAA, or even LAD, he would probably get more recognition. But I still look at his inability to stay healthy as a big factor. A lot of people couldn't name a single Padre's player outside of Peavy. But people know Peavy because of the Cy Young award last year.
He does this everytime he's in ATL. I also noticed the quickness cause it started the same time as the Bulldogs CWS game and was over much sooner... granted in college the coaches signal in pitch selection, but still, that game was almost over when Georgia and Fresno were still in the 7th.

>>184840This. Ben Sheets is a fantastic pitcher but he's such an injury concern. Not being in a big-market hurts too since Prior got all sorts of publicity and he was 8x the injury thread Sheets is.
ITT:Pitchers that would be downright filthily Aces if they could stay healthy.
>>184883Remember me?
I'm trying to think of other pitchers besides Prior, Harden, and Sheets who would be amazing if they could stay healthy, but the only ones I can think of should retire as it is, and even then, they would be good, not electric.
>>184894Kerry Wood. If he hadn't broken down, I think he would have been HOF worthy some day.
