Our lovable Buccos still have more World Series titles in the past hundred years than the Cubbies.

But it would be nice to go .500 again sometime in my life. Sadly, I was 8 the last time that happened. As a teen, this is my most memorable Bucco moment. Next to Randall Simon hitting the sausage with a bat.

I still remember the teams of the 80's and 90's (early 90's). Yeah, I was in my early teens, and the team hadn't done a lot since the wins in the 70's. They were still decent, and made the playoffs now and then.

In the 90's they were actually a force to be reckoned with. Good drafting and excellent trades got a powerful rotation and some great bats in the field. Unfortunately, this was the same time that the Braves were going crazy, so the Pirates had to take a back seat.

A few years of the NLCS and losing, the Pirates traded or lost the players they had brought up in their organization, and then the downfall began.

They've done nothing short of blowing chances every single season. The fact that the Pirates could have drafted none other than Albert Pujols, but passed on him to pickup garbage, just blows me away. There's a huge list of players they passed on at #1, and everyone knew they should have taken.

The Pirates, with their storied history, will be working off the effects of Dave Littlefield for the next decade. He ruined baseball in this town for a long, long, LONG time.

It's not like Bonifay previous to Littlefield was any good either. 16 Years of top 5 draft picks should AT LEAST produce 1 winning record.

It just makes me rage. So many obviously terrible picks. What was it? Moskos or Lincoln that Littlefield drafted and he said, on the record, we project him as a number 3 in our rotation? It was like a number 1 pick. ugh

They never picked top picks. They always used the picks to draft garbage that every other team knew wouldn't amount to anything. Every season, you always hear who should go #1, and baseball it's usually pretty clear cut.

They never drafted those people, and you can see how shitty things have turned out because of that.
