Let's talk about the PatriotsI'm watching the replay of their 3rd preseason game against the Eagles and they don't look very good at all. I'm not talking about the score or the second half, I'm talking about the first unit (minus Brady, a big minus I'll admit). If Brady goes down this team is going to all but suck. Matt Cassel is a scrub of the lowest order. Their starting defense was giving up chunks of yards on the ground and through the air. I think the time as passed on this old team. Sure, they'll probably win the AFC East but this doesn't look like a SB team at all. Now, they'll look better with Brady in there but that doesn't explain or excuse the first team defense looking like old douche.
>>302791>preseason game
On Mike & Mike this morning, they speculated that both New England and Indianapolis are 6-10 teams without their respective quarterbacks. At first I just laughed, but the more I think about it, they might be pretty damn close.
>>302836On the Dale and Holly Show one of them had the Colts with 11 wins w/ no peyton. and the pats @ 12 w/ no brady.
>>3028366-10 is a generous prediction
Obviously if you take the centerpiece of team built around it they will suck. chargers with no LT? greenbay with no favre? oh wait...
>>302886Its more than that thoughI can't really speak for Sorgi but Matt Cassel is fucking terrible, like so bad if he was to be cut from the Pats he would struggle to find work as a back up in the AFL
Sorgi is talented but lacks the balls to lead a team. His entire career has consisted of living in Manning's shadow, only emerging in irrelevant circumstances. Perhaps having a third QB on the roster this year will compel him to step it up and develop more confidence in what he does.
>>302795>>302800Right, that's why I'm not concerned with the score. The performance of the starting units has been complete garbage, though. The defense looks like shit.
I see three things that could happen (excludes defense of Pats, that's a different topic):1. Brady is healthy all year, has great season.2. Brady is beat up most of year, has worst year of his career.3. Brady goes out, Pats offense goes from the highest scoring team to a giant pile of shit. It's just how it is; with the exception of the Colts, no team is as dependent on one player as the Pats are on Brady.
>>302960>1. Brady is healthy all year, has great season.>2. Brady is beat up most of year, has worst year of his career.>3. Brady goes out, Pats offense goes from the highest scoring team to a giant pile of shit.>1. Randy Moss
>>302960Of course the exception of the Colts, because they are the direct opposite. Their core of receivers and offensive line are so good they make their mediocre Quarterback into Super Bowl material.
Let's look at the preseason records of the Colts and Pats since 2004:Colts: 2-2, 0-5, 1-3, 1-3, 1-3Pats: 1-3, 2-2, 2-2, 2-2, 0-3Neither of these teams ever do shit in the preseason. It's like situational practice for them.
>>303009That's retarded. Manning IS the offense.
>>303019Oh hi, another retard who can't read. Don't fucking patronize me. I follow the AFC East every year including the preseason. FUCK THE RECORDSIn years past you could say, "wow, the Pats lost that preseason game but the starting unit was good as usual."This time around that's not the case. Learn how to read, faggot.
If all else fails they'll sign Culpepper.
>>302893If Brady goes down for more then a game, they are signing someone. Just get a Jeff Beck in there and dink and duck them like the old pats
>>303019Yeah, this guy has it right. Dungy and Bill are both too smart to actually play extra games.Welcome to Colts and Pats again. And Chargers, but thats cuase their schedule is also super easy.
>>303056watare you retarded
Brady hasn't played yet, without him the Pats are shitty. Kevin O'Connell looked decent though, that's a plus.I'm not going to judge them until after the KC game.
Brady doesn't play, the Pats suckManning doesn't play, Indy sucksSimple.
>>303121Remember that fucking giant streak of touchdowns and passing only offense the Pats had in the first 3/4 of last season? Their running game was non-existent. Their back was healthy and fresh for the post-season whereas other backs were worn down for the season. That didn't happen by accident.
>>303133Good point. That totally won them the Superbowl.
>>303056If they were as good as usual...they wouldn't have lost. If you think the Pats are in trouble, you might s well go do some more Angeldust.
>>303172They typically play less than a half. WTF are you talking about?
>>303161Fair enough. But changing gears like that threw off a most teams plans. They ran the fuck over the chargers. The Pats had a lot of other problems for the SB, especially the fact that Matt Light got worked like a little bitch most of the game.
>>303199they nearly lost to the chargers who frankly deserved that game. The fact is they cheated. Doy. Why are we even talking about last season? It is irrelevant after it was found out they cheated the whole time and Bill Belichik was the penguin.
>>303206>Doy.underage b&
>>303206Sorry, mentioning extra games made me think of keeping people rested...and that made me think of the way the patriots switched around last year.(And I'm a chargers fan, so...yeah that was a hard game to watch. Don't even get me started on how pissed I was at Gates for getting injured against the Colts. He positioned his foot to try and get up with two guys jumping on him. If he'd just stayed down he would've been fine. )
>>303206No evidence they videotaped after week 1, and don't you think the league would've found out if they did since they had them under the microscope?
>>303210He isn't underage, he's a Canadian.
