>>124821 Congratulations Sherlock you figured that one out all on your own?
There was a time when English players where the most sought out around the globe, we had a reputation for consisently having the worlds best keepers, players like Kevin Keegan were wanted by every big club in the world and we consistently finished highly in competitions.
Then, due to our success, we strengthened it with foreigners who were on our level. This wasn't a problem, but with so many superstars, the youth suffered, and during the 70's and early 80's England was shit. Then when the new breed of youngsters came through, we started going again, Italia 90? This continued and then the Abramovic's and Glazers came and now England is a pit of money. Were not seeing the backlash yet, we have the skill at the moment but a few problems, bad national managers etc, but in a few years, when Gerrard, Lampard, Rio, Terry etc are all gone, there is not enough quality to replace them.
We need to act now before the 2010's are an era of failure for English football.
