Kudos to the upper management of a major sport finally fucking getting something right.

>5 hour games.

You watching a doubleheader or something?

As I understand it, replay can ONLY be enacted on a QUESTIONABLE homerun/foul call. And once the decision comes down from the booth, there is no chance to argue. The decision is final. So really, it will add another 5 minutes in only a few games a year.

Finally something smart happens in baseball.

I actually thought of this idea a couple years back while watching baseball and football at the same time...

Anyhow; they need to have the instant replay on EVERYTHING, except pitches, of course. Games would be too slow... Perhaps they can only instant replay the pitch if it's a called strikeout...

I just hope this doesn't snowball into checked swings and other minor crap

Wtf? No. Fuck that. Then they would call instant replay on EVERY close pitch for a called third strike. If they didn't the MLBPA would BAWWWWWW and shit. Plus it would totally screw with a pitchers rythm if it happens on the first or second out of an inning. "LOL HOLD ON 5 MINUTES IT WAS A CALLED THIRD STRIKE WE MUST REVIEW" fuck no. QUESTIONABLE homeruns/foul balls, yes.

I don't even like this.

If a home run is questionable it isn't a home run

Except when it clearly is. A-Rod hit a bomb that was CLEARLY a home run. it left the confines of the playing field and bounced back into the field of play and was ruled a double because the umpires were too blind to see it.

It's ok for iffy home run calls, but having instant replay for anything else would just be stupid and ruin the game.

The faggot umps gather for 10 minutes to decide what they all saw anyway, so I welcome this change with open arms.

quite possibly the dumbest comment ever made in /sp/
