Bostonfag here, I love how the new uni's look. Dno if it it's one of the best, but definitely better than the old spoked B.

same with the Sacramento Kings

is there any reason why both teams are called the Kings and have the same color scheme? Do they have the same owner or something?
>> Anonymous
Boston is probably the only jersey in the NHL that made noticeable design changes for the EDGE transition that actually turned out better than what they had before. So many teams made retarded quasi-experimental jersey designs just for the hell of it. The EDGE system is fucking ridiculous anyway, but Boston's the only team that did it right without keeping the exact same design as last year.

>>44453
lack of originality in cali?
>> Anonymous
>>44458

I'm pretty sure most people recognize any of the original 6 symbols in hockey.

More recently, i think most people can recognize the devils symbol as well.
>> Anonymous
>>44453

Nope, owned by different groups.

I think the Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings have the best looking uniforms in the NHL because of their simplicity. They both have a nice two colour scheme. I prefer the Leafs' new uniforms though because they have less trim. I like that they god rid of the two stripes at the bottoms of their jerseys, but I think the two stripes around the elbows ruin the overall symmetry. I'd love to see them get rid of all stripes, except on their socks, to have a more uniformed scheme.
>> Anonymous
>>44464
That's not really my point. TO's an original 6 team but they look like they wear practice jerseys on the ice. Being 'recognizable' as a team dosen't necessarily prevent your jersey from taking an asthetic nose-dive.
>> Anonymous
>>44444
Get.
>> Anonymous
>>44458

The Leafs did a pretty good job without keeping the same design as last year. The changes were pretty minor though.
>> Anonymous
all of the original 6 have sick uniforms

why is it that new sports teams always have ridiculous colors and logos
>> Anonymous
>>44444
a milan lucic get on /milan lucic/
very nicely done.
>> Anonymous
>>44471
The Rangers?
The Canadiens?

They've both stuck close to their original design and haven't taken an aesthetic nosedive.
>> Anonymous
>>44471

I don't think the Leafs took an AESTHETIC nose dive. They're still just as recognizable as ever, and their new uniforms are great. I'm loving the simplicity, especially compared to recent years where they had their classic logo on the arms, or the shoulder trim that imitated the 80s and early 90s designs.

Black Georgia Unis > all

Georgia's black uni's are pretty sick

but UT's home jersey's are better
>> Anonymous
>>44483

I agree totally. I'm a life long Leafs fan and I still cheer for the Habs in hopes that they do better than the Sens. And to this day, I still play NHL '94 on Genesis and I always use the Rangers with Mike Gartner, Esa Tikkanen, and Darren Turcotte on my first line. Holy fuckin' speed. My record is 22 goals with Mike Gartner in one game.

Anyway, no bias against the teams themselves, but again, I prefer the simplicity of Leafs and the Red Wings because they only use two colours and use a very minimalist design.

I liek Arkansas' men's basketball team's away jerseys. The color's, like...rich or something, I don't know, I just like them.

I dunno, I just think they need a little extra striping on the arms or at the bottom of the jersey or something. It probably looks worse given that they use the same socks they did last season, so there's virtually no stripes on the jersey but the socks are Stripe Central.

If it was me I'd have at least made the home jersey a vintage, but I'm certain they're going to bring it out as a 3rd next season anyway.

They still look better than those freakin' Oilers jerseys at least.
>> Anonymous
>>44470
Agreed. Would be awesome to see some kind of 3rd jersey for the Wings where they use the smaller vintage winged wheel, though.

I assume you're talking about the Leafs. If they had stripes on the bottom of their jerseys, it would be the same as last year.

I propose that the Leafs get rid of ALL stripes on their jerseys AND socks, and go with a TOTAL white/blue/white away layout and a blue/blue/blue home layout, no stripes at all. Those stripes around the elbows, I'm really not a fan of.

West Virginia would be second in that conference.

I actually really like the EDGE Jerseys. Some teams made shitty design choices, but the ones that pretty much kept it the same remain with good looking jerseys.

As a fan of the Canucks I don't know why they insisted on keeping the whale logo and not going back to the old rink logo. They kept the old Blue/Green/White color scheme, but kept the new logo and it looks kinda odd. Orca Bay doesn't even own the Canucks anymore.

Not a jersey, but still awesome. Ohio State's jerseys themselves aren't as awesome, but they aren't bad either.
>> Anonymous
>>44996
Why does everyone in Vancouver insist on masturbating to that rink-stick logo? It dosen't say anything about the region. It dosen't say anything about the team. Fuck, it barely says anything about hockey. It's looks like something a generic Anywhere-USA peewee team in a cliche sports movie would wear.

And the replica EDGE jerseys look like shit. Thin flimsy material, big-ass EDGE XXL LOTS OF WRITING ABOUT SHIT NOONE CARES ABOUT logo on the front, and they have those awful leatherette single-piece stich-ons for secondary logos. Fair enough they're replicas, but couldn't they have tried to make them look at least a little less like blatant Chinese bootlegs? Even the CCM replicas had the decency to put out jerseys that didn't look like they resorted to putting iron-ons onto the shoulders.
>> UZ !kHzD4It5Tc
>>44998

Get out.
>> Anonymous
>>45014

It's a good thing I actually own Authentic EDGE Jerseys then I guess. Yeah, the replicas are absolute shit, but the authentic ones are great.

And the thing about the Stick in Rink logo in Vancouver is that it's just simply better than the whale. When the whale design was unveiled however many years ago no one in Vancouver fucking liked it. To this day not many people like it.

There were better fan submissions for their new Jerseys, such as one that featured Johnny Canuck as the logo, with the green/blue color scheme. It was fantastic and a poll in Vancouver for fan submissions had everyone liking it. The fact that they essentially just blended two different jerseys together was underwhelming to most fans.
>> Anonymous
>>45027
I can't speak for the authentics, but the fact that they cost like twice as much and hence will be purchased by a fraction of fans makes me more inclined to weigh in the shitiness of the replicas more.

And if you ask anyone outside of Vancouver what defines the Northwest Coast in their minds, it's exceedingly likely they'll cite its native art. Christ forbid the Canucks actually take on some form of regional identity instead of having some generic lumberjack character that at worst noone's ever heard of and at best is seen as a Paul Bunyan ripoff/vague stereotype. To say nothing of the rink-and-stick, which at best is secondary logo material. Nothing that sparse and soulless deserves to be on the chest of a jersey.
>> Anonymous
>>45027
>it's just simply better

LOL, fantastic argument
>> Anonymous
>>45038

Just ask anyone in Vancouver. They'll give you the same answer.

I can only count the number of teams that have anything relating to their region on their jerseys on one hand too. It's not a huge deal.
>> Anonymous
     File :-(, x)
>>45027

I liked this jersey better when it was in Hartford and called the Whalers.

>RIP ;_;
>> Anonymous
>>45045
If you include secondary logos, primary logos, and team names, I've got:

Atlanta, Columbus, Calgary, Dallas, Detroit, Edmonton, Florida, Tampa Bay, Colorado, NY Islanders, Carolina, Washington, Phoenix, St. Louis, Montreal, Boston, and, given their current logo, Vancouver. 17 teams just at the top of my head.

I've yet to find an answer from a Canucks fan concerning the stick-and-rink that dosen't simply pussyfoot around the issue. None of you can answer it because there's nothing 'superior' about it to talk about. "It's better" dosen't explain jack shit, it's simply a poor design for a logo. What's next, a helmet? Glove? Jockstrap?
>> Anonymous
>>45058
It looks like the bastard child of the Wild's red jersey with the Penguins logo. How is that any better than the frankenstein piece they wear now?
