Chuck, tripfag up so no one can pose as you.

Second, wtf is with your Circle-n-Pray technique? Never understood that shit. You need your opponent to fuck up to even get an opening to DROP THE FUCKING CHUCKHAMMER.

he got hit something awful. rashad was lucky. they both threw power punches simultaneously. rashads landed first.

Chuck Liddell is a good fighter, but old. He was never 'God-like' the way he was billed to be. People now are studying his sloppy technique, and they are taking advantage of the holes he leaves in his defenses. He went too long fighting mediocre opponents that he forgot that people do hit back.
Or, black people emit radiation of a certain frequency that weakens Chuck Liddell.
>> Anonymous
Chuck was always a one dimensional boxer who's only weapon is counter-punching. I'm surprised he managed to stay champ for so long.

Protip:
He's billed as God cuz he's best buddies with Dana. Interesting to see how long until Dana kicks his ass out of the organization since Chuck's been pretty much fail for couple years now.
>> Anonymous
>>322402
He was always better than that overhyped faggot beaner Ortiz. I fucking cheered when Liddell beat that bitch.
>> Anonymous
>>321745
Sure, but to be fair, Rashad's been pretty fucking solid as an underdog. He was supposed to lose every bout in TUF and he's gone up against solid guys ever since.

Forcing a draw against Tito isn't a mean feat either, even if Tito's been shit for several years already.
>> Anonymous
>>322433

he actually has very underrated wrestling, and he does on occasion throw the odd kick here and there.

but yeah he's focused way too much on his counter punching ability, after this loss I seriously doubt him ever becoming champ or even getting a title shot for that matter

He got by on a weak division full of inferior wrestlers and grapplers, and just being a tough motherfucker. There's no reason Alistair Overeem didn't trash him.

Alistair got cocky. Alistair got rocked.
Mezger got cocky. Mezger got rocked.
Jackson played it smart. Chuck lost his belt.

Oh, and Chuck's hand speed is gone. 32-year-old Chuck lands the uppercut and puts Rashad to sleep.

i'm going to petition the ufc to rename the light heavyweight division to the sloppy kickboxing division

and why does #1 contender go through chuck liddell anyway? cause he beat wanderlei? he lost to KEITH FUCKING JARDINE who won by kicking him in the legs for 15 minutes while liddell circled around with his arms out like a goofy fuck.

worst..... weight class..... ever.

calm down, it's okay that you dislike chuck liddel, obviously the new blood in the LHW division has evolved and he hasn't. he's also 38 and that is pretty old to be fighting (even if randy couture is 45,but god damn randy is a freak)

doesn't mean he is a shit fighter he's just at the twilight of his career.

how was he lucky? he was landing more shots than chuck in r2, nice ones too i might add. yes they threw at the same time, but chuck landed first, except he hit rashad in the armpit, rashad hit cuck in the face, put him to bed.

and why when a fighter KO's someone they are "lucky" they train to punch people, so when they KO and achieve what they train for that makes them lucky? no luck was needed for rashad.

when a baseball player hits a homerun are they lucky? when a pitcher strikes out a batter is he lucky? hockey player scores a goal, he must be lucky too am i right?

You don't train for KO punch.
You either have it or don't.

lets all blow chuck liddell

cause he beat couture twice when he was in his 40's (even though liddell fanboys cite his age as the reason he lost to evans)

and tito ortiz twice (cause he isn't the most overrated mma fighter ever)

lets ignore the fact that the light heavyweight division pretty much plays right into chuck's style of counterpunching cause everyone just stands up and kickboxes (at best, at worst they just stand there and box)

go chuck!
>> Anonymous
>>324678
In some cases, yes a fighter can get lucky.

In this fight though I agree there was no luck. Rashad was throwing tighter timed punches while Chuck threw a stupid uppercut from too far away.
>> Anonymous
Chuck used to be great. As a longtime fan of his, it is a shame to see him like this. He used to be fucking dominant.
>> Anonymous
>>324691
1. Chuck was once a great fighter, but he never progressed. He is a good example of what it took to win five years ago.
2. Randy C. is 17-9 career. Protip: this is not a good record. If you want to talk about overrated look right here. Fedor will eat him alive.
3. Tito was also a great fighter once, but I think he is more interested in self-promotion than fighting now.
4. Evans did not get lucky. He chose correctly and Chuck chose poorly. Chuck dropped his hands (as usual) and paid for it.
5. The only problem with the LHW division is that everyone has beaten everyone else.
>> Anonymous
>>324882

1. LHW is still dominated by knockouts today. There is no progression, and that's the problem, everyone stands up and brawls with eachother unless they're too tired or obviously outmatched in which case they clinch and utilize little to no maui thai, or take down and lay on top. Wrestling is the best you'll get on the ground in the LHW division (besides ground and pound). There's no real versatility.

2. Fedor would eat anyone alive in the LHW division in the UFC period. Couture is a pioneer of the sport and his ground and pound techniques are very well known and copied to this day in many weight classes.

3. When? When he was kicking a geriatric Ken Shamrocks ass over and over again or when he eeked out a decision over Forrest? Those are his two toughest opponents imo and he fought Forrest when he was still pretty green to the sport. Ortiz is very very overrated. Couture beat Ortiz when he was in his 40's I believe and holds victories over much better fighters including Liddell. Ortiz is loud and brash and thats how he made a name for himself. He's a great wrestler but he is a very good example of what happens when you can't transition between fighting styles well.

4. This is spot on. Chuck was clearly frustrated by Evans being able to easily avoid him in round 1 and it took him out of his game plan since Chuck at least of late doesn't really make it a point to initiate contact besides jabs and arm punches to try to goad his opponent into getting careless and swinging at him.

5. The only problem with the LHW division is that it sucks and the fighters in it are one dimensional. Liddell did so well in LHW cause nobody takes the fight to the ground unless they are losing or are taking the ground and pound route. The reason Fedor eats people alive is that he has terrific throws and very very good bjj for a LHW.
>> Anonymous
>>324914
Lets not forget that Randy and Fedor will be fighting heavyweight, not LHW. KOs are not a fighting style. When a 205lb man hits another 205lb in the face they tend to fall asleep. Randy did not invent ground'n'pound. The ground game requires alot more energy than standup, so LHW fighters tend to want to stand to conserve. Feel free to your opinion about LHW, I guess we will have to agree to disagree.

P.S.Never bring up Forrest Griffin with me ever. That hack can't fight his way out of a paper bag. He has a shitty ground game, shitty stand up, and is the single most overrated and protected fighter in the world. Dana does whatever he can to make The Ultimate Free Ride (I'm sorry, The Ultimate Fighter) relevant to the sport.
>> Anonymous
>>324942

I did overlook the fact that Fedor and Couture are up in the heavyweight division now. Still though, LHW is more or less kickboxing. Everyone expends energy rolling on the ground but it's an aspect of the game that's all but neglected in the LHW division.

Also, I agree about Forrest, but that says even more about how overrated Tito is.
>> Anonymous
>>324945
Well, recovery of that energy is exponentially easier the lighter you are. Sorry, that's closer to what I meant to say. Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see far more bjj in LHW, I just think the current state of the game has more to do with tactics than skill.
I'll concede your arguement on Tito to a point. He was a great fighter in an era that was dominated by guys like Chuck, but compared to the skill level of modern fighters, he doesn't measure up.
>> Anonymous
Chuck has disappointed his past two fights before Evans. He seemed so content to get a slight lead and sit on it, he's become less aggressive. Yes he used to dominate but I don't feel he will ever contend again, people have pointed out good points about how his fighting style hasn't progressed. Evans looked totally legit to me, no luck involved. His quick movement threw Chuck's circling tactic out the window. I was surprised that Evans was booed so hard with the victory. I know he's cocky and everyone loves Chuck, but you have to applaud such an exciting knockout (something Chuck build his fan base on). It's almost as if UFC fans don't respect you if you don't grind your way to the top with a couple losses along the way.
>> Anonymous
Highlight reel KO. Chuck needs to switch training camps, other than the takedowns against Wanderlai, he has basically been fighting the same exact fight for his entire career. He may be able to win a few more if he switches things up.
