How exactly did the SPEED and FAST get associated with the SEC?
>> Anonymous
Because the SEC is everything the Big 10/11 is NOT, and the Big 10/11 is slow, grinding football.

The Big 10 is modeled after original football, 60 minute trench fight and grind to the end. The SEC is the new high flying flashy football. It has SPEED, but if it's air game got shut down vs. a Big 10 team, it wouldn't last long. That's why Michigan beat Florida.

OSU didn't shut them down. Defense doesn't win championships in the SEC. Offense does. It's not that way in the Big 10, so OSU always dominated low scoring games. The SEC doesn't have low scoring games.

USC, ASU, Oregon, Cal, 4 teams in the top 25 with upsets by Stanford, Oregon State, and Arizona.

Um, the simple fact is that south breeds better football players. It's no surprise that OSU is 0-9 against SEC teams, as most of the SEC colleges get players from the south eastern states and occasionally a few elsewhere. Take a look at the ESPN 150 and note how many of these players are from southern states, then look to where they've committed.

It's because the South has the best muscle from all their years as slave states - the 1860s' country bucks being presented in slave auctions are today's city blacks being presented in stunning high definition.
