So olympic fags, why do people insist that it is unfair that China has used 12 year olds in their gymnastic teams under falsified documents?

Cheating - act dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an ADVANTAGE.

I do not understand how letting a 12 year old participate rather than a 16 year old yield any advantages whatsoever. I thought that the 16 year old girl would have a lot more experience and would therefore have a better chance at winning. Choosing a 12 year old would almost seem detrimental, and yet people are still yelling foul cry.

Sure it may be LYING but it couldn't be considered cheating, or could it?

Are americans just that idiotic?

Oh, my bad 14 not 12

Fucking newfag, if you had bothered to read anything here over the past few weeks you'd know the answer to this question.

Lolis are not yet physically developed and this is a huge advantage in gymnastics, for two reasons: a more balanced center of gravity (due to no hip or chest development) and more flexible bones and tendons.

This has been covered in the actual press a million times but whatever.

The age is 16 since presumably girls have reached puberty by 16. They are expected to be somewhat developed. Perhaps not as developed as my pic, but developed. That is why the international organization sets the age of 16 for women's gymnastics (but not for other events where youth isn't an advantage).

You get a 12.125

6 start value. Deductions of 3.875 for trying too hard, emphasizing words by capitalizing them, and huge deduction for an easily dismantled argument. Practice, then try again in four years.

To add on to the previous sentiments on the physical advantages of young gymnasts..

Most gymnasts start training at an early age so experience doesn't really matter when it gets from 12-16, especially with the rigorous work that China puts its gymnasts through from the age of 3.

Also, psychologically younger children may not be as susceptible to pressure. Which I sort of think is bullshit, but at the same time the older a gymnast gets, the more pressure she'll have to succeed before falling out of her prime, which is sort of true.

I don't think the IOC ever explicitly stated why they changed the rule. Probably the stuff you described, I guess, but I think it's also sort of to protect the gymnasts from training at too young an age and harming their body's development.

I think it was probably mainly what you described, all that twistan and jumpan and bendan can't be good for a twelve year old's body
Though they are still going to be doing gymnastics even if they're not allowed at the Olympics so =|

If it wasn't an advantage why wouldn't China use legal gymnasts instead of risking getting caught breaking the rules? The argument is self-defeating.

Are they 12? I thought all the "documents" said they were 14. Are people just exagerrating BS?

Their undeveloped physique apparently gives them an advantage. Some also say they don't understand "pressure" yet.

Still doesn't change the fact that America fucking lost to 14 year olds. Last time I checked, this was an embarrassment.

They are gaining an advantage because they're the best China has to offer. If they hadn't been allowed to participate China could have sent only their second best athletes to Beijing.
