Giants have way more offense than the Titans. Deepest receiving core in the league, clutch QB that the team can rely on if it comes down to needing points in the 4th quarter. Biggest running game in the league, which isn't dominated by one key back, but rather anyone they chose to run, one of the best front lines in the league at both run blocking and pass protecting. Now defense, they cause turnovers, they stop the run, they pressure the quarterback.
Now, what do the Titans offer? Great defense sure, that's their calling card, but really, what else? Pretty decent running game, but they are 27th in passing ypg (with roughly the same number of attempts as the Giants). Kerry Collins? You think he's going to win you a super bowl (or even a playoff game)? Giants gain more on the ground and in the air and put up more on the scoreboard AND THEY HAVE A TOUGHER SCHECULE. You beat baltimore by 3, Giants beat them by 20.
And don't talk to me about "cakewalk" teams. Titans have played their share of <500 teams as well.
When it comes down to it, I think you should be able to look past records and what each team has to offer.
