I know I should just get over it. It's unhealthy to dwell over something and something that is ultimately inconsequential.

But thinking of this game sends me into a state of rage. I won't say the Seahawks were necessarily robbed of the Super Bowl, but they were certainly robbed of a fair chance to win. Any time they started to generate positive momentum, there was a bullshit penalty to kill it; most notably, the 14 point swing on the phantom holding-bizarre low block call-Randle El pass sequence.
>> thetruth !!aGXBnMVTlN3
I agree

/signed the 2002 Miami Hurricanes who were robbed by a faggot ref who gave the game to the Ohio State faggoteyes

its called choking.

Meh, the Seahawks played like shit. They didn't deserve to win. If the Seahawks actually played good then the calls that didn't go in their favor wouldn't have mattered anyway.
>> Anonymous
>>15748
The Steelers played like shit too, but somebody had to win. The officiating proved to be the difference.
>> Anonymous
>>15753
They wanted Bettis to get his ring. He's from Detroit, ya know.

I don't believe the NFL is fixed, but yeah, they need some new refs or something. I've noticed the officiating has been terrible recently.
>> Anonymous
why dont you all cry about it some more?
ive heard it helps
>> Anonymous
It was a necessary evil. Had they let the Seahawks win, the Steeler fans would be BAWWWing so loud, for so long, everything within 500 miles of Pittsburgh would go deaf.

in super bowl XL, the quarterback of whichever team was on offense was given a brand new football...ON EVERY DOWN.

i dont ever want to hear about bad officiating in super bowl forty again

are u all fucking retarded, did u watch that game? the officiating didnt matter, officials didnt do shit on that 74 yard run by willie parker, if the seahawks wanted to win they woulda stopped that, they didnt game over

>> Anonymous
>>15854
Nobody is claiming they did, but the officials did call a phantom hold that prevented an almost certain go-ahead touchdown. They also called a ticky-tack offensive PI that negated a Seahawks TD in the first quarter. The Seahawks were powerless to do anything about these calls.

The officiating wasn't any better than any other game. Just look at it.

Palmer gets hurt.
Colts *still* lose after a last-second turnover.
Pushover NFC rep in the Superbowl

It was the Steelers' year as decreed by the football gods.

It's funny that so many Steeler fans are trolling when just a few weeks before SBXL they were bitching about a terrible officiating in a game they WON.

It was a pity ring for Cowher and Bettis in front of a hometown crowd. Take solace in the fact that everyone, even Steelers fans, know that Seattle was robbed. And just let it go.

I don't root for either team, but I think the Seahawks' "would have won if not for the officials" bawwwwing would have more merit if they hadn't lost by 11 points. If it was 21-17? Yeah, okay, maybe you have a point. 21-10? You just got outplayed.

You think the bitching is bad from the Seahawks fans, just think if the Steelers got robbed instead. The complaining would be so loud you would go deaf.

Steeler fans are the whiniest pieces of shit ever. They complain about games THEY WON. I know Steeler fans that were complaining about last season, in which they won TEN games. They were complaining about that shit.

I'm a Browns fan, and they were complaining about a 10 win season. Unfuckingbelievable.

>>16377

Im a Seahawks fan.

I believe that game could have been way better if the refs werent so stingy. The Giants-Patriots Superbowl there was barely any penalties, and look how great the game was. If the refs would just let them play, we might actually get a REAL football game.

Also yes, this is old. LET IT DIE.
WE LOST, THEY WON.
I HAD TO ENDURE COWHER AND HIS QUIVERING CHIN FOR A WEEK. A WHOLE FUCKING WEEK AFTER THE SUPERBOWL.

There's holding on every fucking play, it's just a matter of whether the refs decide to call it.

Same goes for all the Pats whiners who say there was holding on that Manning-to-Tyree play.

Only bad call that came was the clipping call on Hasselcrap, but the 15 yards wouldnt have mattered because Hines Ward was soo wide he could of ran another 100.
>> Anonymous
every team that lost a championship in basketball or football blames the refs. prove me wrong
>> Anonymous
>>17094
No, every team doesn't. The vast majority of championships are as close to fairly officiated as you can expect, but there are a few exceptions. Two of those exceptions took place in 2006.
>> Anonymous
>>17081
The phantom hold was just really ticky-tack, but the offensive PI that wiped out a TD was inexcusable. Hope initiated contact and made significantly more contact. Jackson was merely trying to release and got flagged. After the call didn't go his way, Hope bitched and the ref threw a very late flag. This call was horseshit.

     File :-(, x)
The only team I think that has a case is the 2002 Sacramento Kings, in the conference finals in game six. Kobe Bryant elbowed Mike Bibby with 1:20 left in a two point game. Bibby left the game with a broken nose. Oh yeah, they called the foul on Bibby for having his nose in the way of Kobe's elbow.

We actually had Ralph Nader, and many other sports writers including Michael Smith, J.A. Adande, Tony Kornheiser, and Michael Wilbon request that the NBA review the officiating of the game.
