So /sp/ me and my friends are getting pretty bored of going to pubs to play Pool etc. so I think I'm gonna buy a Pool Table. Problem is I'm on quite a budget.. do you lot think that second-hand would be a good way to go and are there any other distributors except from eBay?

police/repo auctions? i hear they are good.

I wouldn't recommend it. There's always something wrong with second hand equipment that they don't tell you about or hide well. I wouldn't be surprised if a table had a leg short or something. If you do get one make sure that you have a good return policy.

On top of this, you'll have to both move the thing into your house and have it properly balanced. We had a quote of a few hundred dollars for this service. OTOH, if you find someone who's moving and are willing to help at least move the table into your house, you might find a useful second-hand table.
