5. The MVP is not a post season award. Okay, okay. Howard's not producing in the playoffs, I know the list of people who have post season HRs include Rollins, Utley, Stairs, Manny, Loney, Martin. But that's besides the point, teams aren't pitching to Howard, they're just not. Oh, people can point to the fact that Howard doesn't have a IBB, and Loney actually does but that's more because the fact Charlie Manuel is the most retarded manager in the major leagues, and why the fuck would you walk James Loney? He's not in Howard's league with all the singles he picks up. That opposing teams keep on putting the shift on Howard shows how much they respect him. Not the amount of walks he has.
6. The defense Howard provides. Yeah, that right. He won the MVP in 06 despite his horrible defense. Now he's an adequate 1st baseman, so defense should be a plus in any MVP candidate.
7. PUJOLS COULDN'T PITCH. Basically, Pujols didn't do enough to be MVP. If he just learned how to pitch, his team might have gone to the playoffs, instead, Howard's Phillies are because of the quality of Howard's left arm. Pujols, you want to earn another MVP, you're going to learn how to pitch. Pure and Simple.
There, 7 reasons why the MVP is Ryan Howard. Sorry Pujols, you just don't pitch.
