>>365409 I hate you for making a side to side comparison, but I know the Big XII schools aren't so much better in academics.
Let me just look at U.S. News World Report 2009:
BigXII: Mizzou (#96), Nebraska (#89), Kansas (#89), Kansas State (#130), Colorado (#77), Iowa State (#89), Oklahoma State (tier 3, not ranked), Oklahoma (#108), Texas (#47), Texas Tech (tier 3, unranked), Baylor (#76), Texas A&M (#64) Average: 86.5
SEC: Vandy (#18), UGA (#58), Florida (#49), Kentucky (#116), South Carolina (#108), Tennessee (#108), Bama (#83). LSU (#130), Auburn (#96), Arkansas (#125), Miss and Miss St. (both tier 3, not ranked) Average: 89.1
Averages didn't count the Tier 3 schools (both conferences had two), so you can see that Big XII definitely isn't a vastly academically superior conference compared to the SEC with just a few points higher average.
