THIS GUY ISN'T A GOOD QB. Look at his fucking stats. 9 touchdowns, 17 interceptions. Even fucking Tarvaris Jackson almost did better. The only reason his ass isn't being declared a bust is because the Titans keep finding ways to win games.

because they have a kickass defense and a average running game.

You'll never win a championship with that kind of QB in the modern era, defenses are just too good now. I'd take a QB with led feet that can read defenses, and wait for plays to develop than one that tries to run around and make a half assed play.

Vince Young
TD-INT: 21-30
Passing yards: 4,745
QB Rating: 69.0

Ouch.
>> Anonymous
The dude was good in college. But than again, so was Ryan Leaf.
>> Anonymous
vince young gets a free pass because of the franchise he represents, sadly. that and the titans going on a run late in 2006.
>> Anonymous
You have to take into account the fact that he has virtually no help whatsoever on offense. And the only move they've made to help him at all is the recent addition of Alge Crumpler. He needs a big play receiver and a consistent running back and still suck in order to be considered a legitimate bust.

Because Joey Harrington had those things.

The Lions drafted WRs (Rodgers and Williams) with their first picks in the next two drafts. They also drafted Kevin Jones (released yesterday lol) with their second pick in the 2004 first round. None of these guys ended up being worth shit (except Williams on the rare occasion) but they were brought in to help Harrington (who proceeded to suck with the help of a shitty O-line).

And they continued the streak of failure in 2005 by drafting Mike Fucking Williams with the 10th pick of the draft.

LOL THE LIONS DOESN'T HAVE A TOP 10 PICK FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 10 YEARS!

still won't stop them from drafting a wide receiver.

He's talented and can make a jaw-dropping catch every now and then, but he's too fucking fragile. He's had, what, one complete season?
>> Anonymous
Roy Williams was our most productive receiver. He does get her but, for the most part, hes not out for very long.

YET

he's not a good qb YET

Kordell Stewart ----> Michael Vick ----> Vince Young

I love Mike Vick backers. "WOW LOOK AT THAT GREAT TOUCHDOWN RUN HE'S A GREAT QUARTERBACK."

Fucking hunk of crap passer couldn't win shit.

VY might be good though, if he figures out how to stay in the pocket every once in a while.

Played with the Ravens for a year, retired. Was on Pros vs Joes a year ago or so.

Ya Kordell actually punted for the Ravens cuz he couldn't be first string even with Kyle Boller there as the starter.

I still have a Kordell Stewart bobblehead from a set that included him, Urlacher, and Booker. I'm so happy that they got booker back and i can proudly display my bobblehead again.

And Vick already sucked.
>> Anonymous
no, the only reason he isn't being declared a bust is because of he's only had 2 fucking years in the league. It fucking takes time to mature in the NFL. If he's the same in 2 more years, then yes, he's a bust.

There have been a lot of great players in the NFL who have been late bloomers. Look at Drew Brees who didn't have his "break out year" until he was with the Saints, 5 years into his career.

The same could be with Vince. Maybe he's not gelling with the Titans offensive game plan. Who knows, just give him some time.

peyton manning's 2nd year he threw for 4,100+ yards had have a better td:int ratio.
>> Anonymous
>>38226

its not the same for all players, fag.

Big Ben won a superbowl his second year in the league.
>> Anonymous
>>38219

he made the pro bowl with the chargers the year he was a free agent, then he signed with the saints.

But back on topic, it can take up to 5 yrs for a QB to look good, especially coming from a gimmick college offense..someone like alex smith or vince young.

Big Ben played like shit in the Super Bowl
>> CapitalistBastard !!f/pELCnjRD0
>>39494

Pure QB stats yes. But he ran for key first downs and a TD. He also threw a key block on the 50 yard trick play TD.

Did you forget his historic 3 away game run as the number 6 seed in order to get to the super bowl? He carried the Steeler offense in all 3 of those games.
