How could Rivers be the MVP?
1. His team is mediocre. So he can't get the whole "most known player on best team" MVP thing.
2. He's not doing anything special. Okay, the Saints aren't that great, but Brees is doing the Dan Marino thing. Rivers? Psh.
3. He's not even the best player on his offense!

It should be Cutler or Brees, as their teams would be picking in the top 3 in the draft if they weren't there. If Rivers weren't there... they'd pretty much have the same record.

Except Rivers is single handedly winning games, and putting up numbers.

He belongs in the same conversation as best QB in the NFL right now that you put Brees and everyone else in.

It's October. There are no MVPs in October, just like there are no national champions.

He's playing solid, but I wouldn't put him in MVP contention.
