DON'T MIND ME

IM JUST CHILLING AT ARSENAL

op here....

I just can't seem to get over the despair and vanity of this deal.

No fellow gooners on /sp/?

He should provide decent cover for Gallas and Clichy; he has the league experience, good bit of international experience, and was lucky enough to receive CL honors. Other than that, shrewd economics by Wenger--- Hoyte out for 3M and Silvestre in for rumored 750K.

Gallas and Silvestre have the two biggest heads in the EPL's defense.

This has really baffled me. I think SAF, Wenger and Benitez must've had a bet on the England match winner gets to sign an average at best player from one of the losing sides for free.

The undisclosed fee was Wenger won the bet.

at least now we have cover for clichy and now traore can go to a loan somewhere and gain experience

and then...

Q: Do you think that you have to win the Arsenal fans over because for a decade you played for our biggest rivals?
A: Yea, I played for the best of the biz. No, I think they'd accept me as I am a professional.....

FFFFFFFFFFFF

Is this showing an easy in tension/rivalry between the two clubs?

I think it's more Manchester just being like "lol, Silvestre... whatever" and Arsenal being like "well, at least he has experience, we need backups too"

Genuinely though he might come to us (Sunderland). Doubt he'll get much first team football at Arsenal. Guess know we know hes the type of player whos happy to sit and do shit all if it gets him some cash.

another thrilling summer transfer for the goonerzzz
>> Anonymous
we'll see on saturday if he gets a spot in the first team. i dont think Wengers is buying a player thats 31 years old just to stay on the bench

As a Gooner, I think Wenger has lost the plot. He decides that he needs a new midfielder (he also needs to replace Hleb, coz Eboue in midfield isn't working) so he decides to buy a 31 year old defender?

I know we need maturity in our squad but for an undisclosed fee (which can only mean he spent £6m+ on him) is a bit stupid for a 31 year old.

Dwight Yorke at Sunderland???

It's 750k for the transfer and 50k for his weekly wages according to numerous sources, but who knows.

I have a feeling Toure might play in the holding role, if Silvestre partners up Gallas. We already gave Djourou out to loan, and this idiot comes along to save the day.

Times like this, I just hate being a gooner.

50k a week? what the fuck? That's just retarded.

But at least now we should be able to give FUCK YEAH SENDEROS the rest that he so richly deserves, all winter long.

Wow, that came out of nowhere.

There whole nation of football fans are either still lol'ing or in bafflement over this. Seriously good business for SAF, and for Wenger well, I hope he knows something I don't.
