Crosby the face of the NHL? CapitalistBastard !!f/pELCnjRD0
Looks like Crosby and the Penguins are single-handedly saving the NHL.

>The biggest draw thus far of the playoffs came Sunday for the second game of the Eastern Conference finals between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Philadelphia Flyers, which drew a versus network-record 2.37 million viewers, its best ever for an NHL telecast.

I'm a bruinsfag, and granted alot of the games the past few years havent been sold out (save for rivalry games), but theyve all been fun and the atmosphere has been awesome. but when crosby or ovechkin come to town, it's a terrible game to go to. people try to start the fucking wave, you have all the parents STOP SAYING 'DAMN' MY KID'S HERE!!

id rather have the half empty arena than those shitty ass fans filling it up.

besides, those fans would only goto those what, 4 games a year vs the caps/pens? the real reasoning so many people left is because of owership screwing over season ticket holders when they moved from the old garden, basically quitting in the playoffs before the lockout against the habs, completely shitting the bed after the lockout and letting people go, and ultimately the joe thornton trade.

The problem with that is, instead of it being a TEAM sport, it turns it into the NBA with the one man team attitude and it sucks. What the should be doing is market at least 1 player on each squad, showcasing their talent. That way everyone is happy, and don't have to have Crosby slammed down our throats.

Regardless of how much they market the kid, I honestly don't think that Joe Shmoe from Alabama is going to care about Crosby.

I live in London, home of the Knights and I can relate to so much of this. The Knights becomming good was the worst thing for the fanbase. Games at the old London Gardens kicked so much ass and it always had the best atmosphere. Then they started winning, got a new arena, and suddenly the only people at the games are people under 10, fair weather faggots and rink rats who think 17 year olds playing hockey are gods.

Man, I hope Crosby gets injured in game one.

It would nullify the point of every sportscaster and advertiser in North America from furiously masturbating at the slightest mention of anything Crosby. That combined with the proliferation of sunshine teams at the sacrifice of Canadian/Northern markets. Virtually the entire Southeast division gives as much attention to hockey as arena football anyway, if Bettman is so adamant about pushing the game in those markets he might as well pull everything else down with it.
