It's time to let go.

TL;DR: "Before the Winter Olympics fade from memory, if they haven't already, we Americans have to face some cold facts. We simply can't dominate the world, on or off the slopes, the way we used to or would like to. That's the way it is, like it or lump it. Most of us will lump it, since we've never been particularly good losers." -1988

Pretty sure this temporary takeover by china threatening us will lead to our domination yet again in 2012.

just that most of were us to having ZERO competition.

look at the usa basketball team we lose to greece and then we rededicate ourselves and bam here we are.

Waaaaaaah, we can't win medals so it shouldn't matter. That's why this country is going into a shithole and will be overrun by a new Chinese-Russian alliance.

>Chinese-Russian alliance

I don't think so, Tim.

China has zero reason to ally with Russia. Breaking ties with the US would be economic suicide. Like it or not, no matter who remains on top in terms of GDP, the US will continue to rely on Chinese material imports, just as the Chinese will continue to rely on US design and intellectual property imports.

Logically, if you're stuck as the factory country, you will remain #2. As China becomes more capitalistic, her people will demand greater freedoms. If anything, China will become more Westernized and will end up more like Japan, come of the middle of the century.

You're neither Chinese or Russian.
