Does /sp/ like to sandboard?

Truth be told, this is the only sport I actually like. I've never been a sports person. But I love sandboarding.

That's all I've really been doing on my days off from work. You can dress comfortably unlike snowboarding. Also, Snowboarding is not a calorie burning sport, sandboarding is. You end up getting exercise out of it climbing back up those dunes, and believe me, it is a damn good workout.

i see it as more of a hobby/rec activity than a sport, kinda like cricket, skateboarding, surfing and such.

But technicaaly its a sport.

Op here.

Yeah, I have. There are lifts to take you back up each time with snowboarding, and when going down, you may burn some calories, but it's not that great of a workout.

Repeatedly climbing up steep sand dunes though, that is a workout.

thats park boarding... completely different... try snowboarding in some backwoods and shit... you'll burn plenty of calories and your legs will be screaming after one or two runs

Op here.

Okay, good point. I didn't even think that. I've never done that though, I always took lifts.

Eh, I still prefer sandboarding because I can just go in a T-shirt and shorts. Plus, it's the perfect temperature where I go. Central Oregon Coast... a cool breeze in these dunes, but you keep yourself warm by sweating when climbing back up those dunes.

You're always free to walk up the mountain instead of using the lifts, cardiofag.
