Ok guys, I know Spain hates USA for about 2 and a half more minutes but come on, is it just me or does this game make you proud to be an earthican. I feel sorry for any aliens who arent sitting here watching wade shooting lights out or juan carlos driving to the hoop. Its probably the most energy I have seen in a basketball game in a long time. This is just too much fun.

Besides, in about a thousand years we are all just gonna be together as one planet. Lets just enjoy basketball and how hard each team is playing for our entertainment.

But keep telling yourself that as you cry yourself to sleep.

Fantastic game from both sides. Kobe is an amazing player.

Of course, sportsmanship in /sp/ during the Olympics is non-existent. I'll be glad once the Olympics finish, because /sp/ pretty much is /n/ right now.

Basketball's 3rd or 4th depending on how you look at it. But it's growing. Spain's probably the first country we've seen that can actually stand a chance against a good USA team, which is what International Basketball needs. Competition.

Now we need more more world class national sides and a league that can compete with the NBA. Then we'll know Basketball's made it on the world stage.

that's like saying cricket is the 2nd most watched sport in England.

fact is, basketball is played among school students as a stupid game, but not many go on to play professionally.

Uh. 300 million people play basketball in China. The United States itself has 300 million people.

And why do you care? We don't care if you like the sport or not, we like it.

>>292989

Looks like its played professionally as a stupid game too...

You spainiards need to learn how to play the game right and knock that flopping shit off.

>> Anonymous
>>292989

Right, I agree on that. Basketball is still not up there with Football, Cricket or Rugby but... it's growing. It has an established following. Maybe someday those school kids might actually play professionally.

Like I said it all depends BASKETBALL growing, not the NBA. That's what worries me, the NBA cares about making money for the NBA, not actually growing the game.

no, soccer is the sport where everyone looks to get in. that's why we have such strong soccer teams. and the reason you have such a poor soccer team is because no one goes to play soccer professional just like here with basketball. except USA barely beat the amateur spanish team.

China's pro league isn't that big. Only about 15-20 teams I think. But they have exhibitions with the Korean league, which makes things interesting.

who the fuck cares about cricket. You europenises always fucking copy our sports. EVERY HEARD OF BASEBALL, YOU FUCKS!? Baseball can be traced back to the 14th century. Cricket can be traced back to the 16th.

I did, Football's the most popular sport to WATCH in China. If we were going by amature sports Soccer or Basketball would be the most popular sport in the US

>>293076

Which is why they watch foreign leagues. In fact most fans around the world use Chinese programs to stream games.

>>293113
Table tennis is obviously China's national sport, not football OR basketball.

>>293133

Ok guys listen, the map is the most POPULAR sports in the world. Not what sport has the most players, or "national sports". Only certain countries like Australia could be debated.

So basically if you were to use the US as an example:

Most played sport: Basketball or Soccer
"National" sport: Baseball
Most popular sport: American Football.

Got it?

You should make separate charts to indicate that then, methinks.
