I can't believe people would overrate this guy. He never goes to the paint, constantly dumps the ball to Bosh and hope he can work his way to the basket, and when everything else fails, throw it out to another shooter and hope they can make a shot so he gets a cheap assist. His assists are one of the most meaningless things in the world, and that's saying alot considering it has always been somewhat an accurate measurement of how well one can make plays. Mr Jumper here is the exception.

There's nothing impressive about his numbers. He can definitely take care of the ball, but he doesn't run 4 on 1 fastbreaks nor does he take any chances to break down the defense because he wants to protect his 63003248 assist without a turnover record.

If he doesn't have any bigs as talented as Bosh you are looking at 5 APG at max.

name one fucking decent team that doesn't have a 4/5 about as good as Bosh, faggot?

Not even a Toronto fan, hell NBA really, but numbers are numbers man. If by midseason he's still averaging good numbers (high fg%, assists to turnover ratio), he's a credit to the team period, and that can't be understated. He's not all-star caliber certainly (not even close), but give credit where credit is due.

The only other big in the East who can rival Bosh in scoring proficiency is Dwight. The problem with Calderon is that alot of his assists depend on how well Bosh scores and how good the shooters are(Both Kapono and Parker are top 10 in 3 pointers). Frequently after a successful pick by Bosh he just stops instead of turning the corner and attract the defender that was closest to the paint. The only thing that is preventing him from being a complete liability is that he can shoot, so guys just can't go under the pick and hope he misses. When his jumpers are cold the offense grinds to a halt, and even if it is hot you can see most of the shots coming from the Raptors are heavily contested, and that's because Calderon doesn't have any tricks aside from his half-ass pick and roll. IMO, to be an allstar PG you would need to at least draw attention from the defense, but Calderon doesn't do that. In turn, the other team is not as tired playing D and go back to their usual sets when they have the ball.

He's good enough to start for any teams in the league, but allstar? Not right now.

I'll never forget when I met him 4 years ago in my town. He wasn't famous even in Spain.

He was playing with the Spanish team and after the game, they were around the stadium. Gasol wasn't here but there were he, Dueñas, Navarro and more spanish players. We shaked hands and talked a little. I said to him that he was my favourite player and all that shit and he said back, looking at me 'I bet this is the first time you've ever seen me playing basket and that you didn't ever knew that I existed, right?' and I responded 'Well, yes...' and he said then smiling 'Hey, I know. I'm just playing in this shitty team and nobody knows me but watch me, dude, watch me and you'll see.'

When he went to the NBA a pair of years ago I almost shitted myself. I bet he remembers me. Also this guy won a World Championship, 2º in Europe Championship and 2º in the Olympics. So... Calderón is AWESOME in my book.

And seriously, he is a funny guy.
