great or greatest sporting moment

DAVID TYREE CATCHEDING THE BALL ON HIS HEAD.

When was the last time the Eagles won the Superbowl or the NFL championship?

1960.

The Eagles haven't done anything "great" since.

I'll have to agree with this. Manning escaping the sack made me think, "no big deal" since everyone was probably covered by then.

When he caught the ball and managed to keep it pinned to his head my jaw dropped..

Seriously, the ball was on his head secured with one hand. I don't think I've ever seen a catch like that before, let alone after the QB got out of 4 guys. Not only was the play ridiculous but the momentum it had in the game was ridiculous also.

The only reason it will be remembered as the greatest super bowl moment even is because it was the combination of two great plays. Let's face it Manning able to escape three separate sacks when the pocket collapsed on him was no easy feat. But with Tyree catching the ball on his head while getting cloths lined by that Patriot. (They're so contemptible, I refuse to remember their names)

Greatest Sporting moment is and will be 'The Play'.

THE BAND IS OUT ON THE FIELD!

This was the most exciting heart-beat skipping moment I have had watching sports. I think though, not just the catch but the whole play was unbelievable. Not only did Manning get out of like 3 near sacks (also its not like that guy was known for his scrambling prowless, so it was totally unexpected) he then UNLEASHED THE DRAGON and Tyree caught it. This was a man who had more tackles then catches the whole year. It was not like some scrub DB was covering him. Fucking Rodney Harrison future hall of famer was
fighting for that ball too. Truly amazing.

>Manning UNLEASHED THE DRAGON is now a meme.

it was a great sports moment. easily in the T5 in the NFL this decade.

-on topic post- People seem to forget about the previous miracle plays when the next one occurs.

Not only are they considered an "unlikable" team by me, the Philadelphia play would have been a lot bigger news if they had actually done something that year as well.

Or maybe posters pic didnt have anything to do with charles woodson or OPs pic, and he just thinks Desmond Howards TD was the greatest sporting moment.

Yes the Manning escape and Tyree catch was epic, but for the most part, appeared to be mostly luck.
