i. am. so sorry if you go to school in that confrence. really. they're all shitty. if you dont. then you my good man are correct.

I would've argued against this point at one time.

However, Temple is now part of the MAC.

Therefore, I can not argue this point.

God damnit.

Wait, are you talking about the Sun Belt or the MAC?

The MAC has long been an academics-over-athletics conference, that's why they kicked out Marshall the first time, and let Temple in.

I forget the numbers, but I think four U.S. presidents went to MAC schools, and only one (Gerald Ford) went to a Big 10 school.

Marshall didn't get kicked out. They left for a superior conference.

>>298709
Buffalo is the only team in the MAC that's WORSE than Temple. WTF?

Word. There are 119.5 I-A teams, and only 43 presidents. The odds are not in their favor.

Meanwhile, we can all name someone from OUR school who was much cooler than any president. For example, RoboCop went to mine.

Only 3/13 of MAC schools are Tier 1. Every BCS conference has a higher percentage of Tier 1 schools.

The SoCon & CAA of FCS are better than the MAC.

I said the FIRST time. Marshall was in the MAC twice. The first time they got kicked out for academic reasons. The second time they left for a "better" conference, from which they are on the verge of being dismissed due to, wow, NCAA violations.

The criticisms I can run at the US News rankings are rampant, among them being "If US News is so smart, why are they the least-read newsmagazine," but in reality their ranking systems have little to nothing to do with academics. Chronicle of Higher Education rankings are much more accurate in terms of the quality of undergraduate education and they show the MAC (minus shitty schools like Toledo and Akron) is among the top midwestern schools.

I admit there are shitty, shitty teams in the MAC, and I have a degree from one of them. But I have a degree from one that is very much not shitty, too.
