This is what NBA.com has as the Western rankings right now. Look at the ratios, then look at the ranks. Why is simple numerical ordering so hard for them?

IF YOU LOOK AT THE RATIOS

proof that /b/ works for the NBA's ranking team

"1..2..5..3..6..4...7..DICK BUTTS"

It has something to do with leading a division.

when a team leads their division, they cannot be worse than 4th place in the conference. its a weird rule, but there you go. if the heat, the t-wolves, the sonics, the knicks, and the grizzlies were all in the same division, if one team had a 3-30 record, and that was the best in the division, they would be 4th seed no matter what.

so if utah suddenly lost 4 games denver would be 4th seed? jesus christ.

no, we're legitimately discussing a retarded regulation. OP just didn't know about it, and if I didn't know about it, common sense would dictate that the teams with higher win ratios....place higher than teams with lower ones. no wai?

Well, the OP comes out as a huge faggot. It's like his first time he's seen the rankings all year.

Simple mistake though. I have seen it many time before just didn't think too much of it till I found it out.

Conference winners have always had HFA over wild card teams in baseball and football regardless of records. It's not like basketball is unique in this aspect.

by football I assume you mean american pigball, which I don't watch
>> Anonymous

Well, it should be a little different in basketball, when a conference is only 5 or so teams. Like someone pointed out, everyone in a sub-conference could theoretically average around 0.2 and yet someone from there would still end up 4th overall. That's bullshit

Let's put things in perspective. If the playoffs were to start now, Denver(16 games over .500) would miss the playoffs and Atlanta( 8 games under .500) would make the playoffs..

It's ok though, Mavs are gonna fall out and Denver will get the 7th or 8th seed.. I doubt we can catch Utah since those mormon faggots never lose at home..
