FUCCCCCCCCCCCCK as a pacerfag, I am pissed.

Traded to the Raptors for TJ Ford.
>> Anonymous
Torontofag here, enjoy your little faggot. What a dumb trade though, why do we need O'Neil?
>> Anonymous
>>189592
make chris bosh a center? BAWHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHHAHA! at least we got rid of that guy with a weak spine.
>> Anonymous
>>189600
Considering O'Neil dwarfs Bosh and has played centre more than Bosh and plays it better than Bosh I think O'Neil will be the centre. They're pretty similar though. I don't get it.

O'Neil is injury prone also.

samefag, I'm more down about giving away another draft pick when we're not going anywhere for awhile.

wasn't he bawing when daivd stern put in that rule you gotta go to college before the nba.
>> Anonymous

there are workarounds that rule, such as if a player plays for a foreign league out of high school, then gets drafted

I live in Indianapolis, and I'm pretty ambivalent. Seriously, nobody I know has given a shit about the Pacers in years, especially more casual sports fans.

Unfortunately for the them, the decline of the organization coincided with the rise of the Colts. Professional basketball just sorta fell off the map...substitutional bandwagoning, if you will.

As a Raps fan, I'm unsure about this trade. On the good side of it, when O'Neal is healthy he can be a great center and no with him the Raptors have one of the best starting 5 in the East (BC:Calderon/Parker FC: Bargnani/Bosh/O'Neal)
On the other side, when kinda gave up a lot for him; I admit T.J. had to go, but Nesterovic could play like an All-Star center when he wants to(look at his April stats) and at #17 we could've got a Lopez Bros. or a good scoring wing man. Also, O'Neal is injury prone and he also has a poor attitude which brings down the teams morale (which is stange, seeing as lockerroom morale is huge to Colangelo). Also, he's overpaid. A lot.

>>189815
No, shut up. He's never been a jerk his entire career, not even during 'the brawl.' He was injured this year and couldn't or didn't play to his top level because of it, but never was he an asshole. The only thing recently that I think would make you say that is his not wanting to be on a building process team..well who was saying that last year this time? Paul Pierce. All he's guilty of really is getting hurt after a big contract and not playing up to it.

you know the team that really got screwed in this? the team that winds up with jamaal tinsley after he gets dumped/traded.

cleveland, i'm looking in your direction.

Toronto got rid of Ducky? :<

I think his unhappiness came before this season. From what I know, he was unhappy with Isiah Thomas, unhappy with Ron Artest, and then recently unhappy when he was the on leading the team. It says a lot when a player was only happy for the period of time when he was winning. Granted, that's only from what I know, heard and read about.

Also, the man punched a fan in the face. Seriously, what the hell is up with that?

The Raptors made this trade to get rid of T.J. Ford, not to pick up O'Neal. That said, this does make the Raptors a top four team.
>> Anonymous
>>189879
>top four team
better be talking about the east
>> Anonymous
>>189906

Yeah, the East. I'd say they're a better team than the Cavs are currently.

turtle got what was coming to him.

As a raptorfag, I feel it wasn't a great trade. Sure, when healthy, O'Neal can be really good! However, he's injury prone (Mind you, TJ is injury prone too, but he had to go). I don't know about trading Rasho and the #17 pick. Sure we need better rebounding, but I don't like this trade.
>> RAY ALLEN !!+K0Mvqp/bEq
>>189906
I hate this trade. Rasho was a good defender and I think they definitely overpaid for him. Did they have to give away the first rounder too?
>> Anonymous
Check Jermaine's stats faggots, he was never a fluke. Toronto needs another go-to-guy. Trade is fair anyway, trade an injury-prone for another injury-prone.
>> Anonymous
jermaine is an allstar when healthy, who could stay motivated when half of your team is scrubs, and the other half is either shooting or getting shot at in clubs all the time?

if not for dunleavy he would have probably blown his brains out
>> Anonymous
wow guys, tj was never an all star. It was a fair trade dawg
>> Anonymous
>>189965
Well he was REALLY impressive in his rookie season. I actually watched the game he first went down in and before that he was being touted really highly, was even faster than he is now and could easily get to the rim and dish. Potential all-star before, not so sure about now.. pretty sad really, it's not fair to him but he's still playing so no one sympathizes as much as they usually do.
>> Anonymous
>>189959
o_o someone who actually likes dunleavy o_o
I'm glad, dunleavy junior took some time..but I think looking at some #3 picks he wasn't such a bad one. Give your white hopes a chance, nba teams!

Oh and don't forget Danny Granger
>> Anonymous
How old is Jermaine?
>> Anonymous
>>189947
pacersfag here and even I'm wondering WTF bird is thinking about doing this trade. the Star said if indy got the 17th pick they'd grab hibbard (I guess to replace O'neal as the only legit. big-man on the team) but seriously, wtf?
>> Anonymous
Good job by the Raptors. The pick up a defensive lock, for a defense that has obviously been one fo their major concerns.

They got rid of T.J. Ford, which means Calderon will get consistent time on the floor, which will ultimately help the Raptors.

Bargnani get's benched by O
Neal.

Nesterovic sucks. Seriously. Inconsistent which is what the Raptors don't need.
>> Anonymous
Danny Granger = 19.6PPG, 6RPG
Mike Dunleavy = 19.1, 5.5

Seems they can't wait anymore. A healthy Jermaine could fit in quite well with these two
>> Anonymous
>>190002

Yup...all around good deal for the Raps. They'll be a much improved team this year. Can't wait to watch them at the ACC.
>> Anonymous
>>190002

Staying with Calderon isn't risk free either. He could opt out next year if he's not happy, and he can definitely attract Euro teams to the point of giving him a better contract than any team in the NBA could.
>> Anonymous
the trade won't go through because none of them can pass their physical
>> Anonymous
Wait, Pacers have fans?

Two insignificant teams traded broken players. WOW HOLD THE PRESSES.

i thought jermaine was faking the injury because he was unhappy and decided to mail in the season.
