The Cubs need to win this game. Let me repeat that, they ABSOLUTELY NEED TO WIN THIS GAME.
Why? Tomorrow they have Zambrano starting. I know what you're thinking: 'Zambrano? Isn't he the guy who threw that no-hitter? I thought he was one of the best in the game', and you'd be right, well, partially right.
True, Zambrano did get that no-hitter, but three of his four September starts were terrible. Besides the no-hitter, Zambrano didn't go more than 5 innings, and once vs. St. Louis went only 1 2/3. Zambrano gave up 16 ER in only 11 1/3 innings in these starts, which amounts to an ERA of 7.96 and even with the No-hitter he has a 7.06 ERA in September. Zambrano is going to be amped up so he's going to be very hit or miss. There's a chance he could show that no-hitter magic like he did vs. Houton, but there's a much better chance he shows the wildness that he did in the rest of september.
