No. That was was Sean Taylor

I still think Jax should have offered you something, rather than picking two new DEs...
>> Anonymous
ehhh not first ballot, but maybe
>> Anonymous
If he plays 2 more years yeah.
>> Anonymous
Depends on who retires with him. I think he'd go, but as a Dolphins fan I'm pretty biased on the subject, so bleh.

>>170816

If its this year, then Strahan will completely overshadow him

Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas are both HOF's, but I am a Miami Dolphins fan.

He's playing this year. It may not be as a Dolphin, but he's playing.

4x time All-Pro and a DPOY at age 32.

Fred Dean and Carl Eller recently got in with about the same.

HoF = no nigger zone.
Is he a nigger?
>> Anonymous
isn't he getting along with parcels and going to keep playing?

if not then no hof, no fucking way, not enough done to deserve it

i'm sick of faggots like this playing a few years and jumping out and getting into the hof, it's made a joke of it.

also, tiki. faggot had to protect himself from injury and missed out on the ring that would've made sure he'd get there. fuck him, let him be famous on foxnews. fuck the nfl hof, it's all bullshit now

Zach Thomas is a solid LB but he's not a Hall Of Famer, unlike another white LB who wears the number 54 for a team tht finished with a losing record last year. IF U KNO WUT AH MEAN

Zach Thomas is a better linebacker than Brian Urlacher.

I say this as a Lionsfag who's seen Urlacher play a good deal.

>>170862
Brian Urlacher has missed the pro bowl twice in his career, led his team to a super bowl, and was named defensive player of the year three years ago. What has Zach Thomas done?

He's got 7 AP All-Pros to Urlacher's 4, and his career tackle totals are just breathtaking.

He's got 1642 in 13 seasons to Urlacher's 970 in 9. Normally you'd expect that kind of discrepency between elite linebackers to be because one player is chasing down backs all over the field on a weak defense. Certainly there is some of that padding the stats, but you can't say Thomas doesn't play downhill, and he's got a sizable lead in run stuffs too: 84 to 55, for nearly twice the yardage. I think its actually Urlacher who's more the sideline-to-sideline type.

Obviously the tradeoff there is that Urlacher is the better space player, and you'd expect that being in a Tampa 2 and being a former college safety. But I note Thomas has 17 career picks and 65 passes defensed to Urlacher's 15 and 57, so he's not exactly dogshit in coverage either.

If I had to pick a mike linebacker when he was in his prime, I'd take Thomas.

>>170888
Well you said it yourself that Urlacher plays mike in the Tampa 2. That means on most of the plays he drops back into coverage. He was very rarely given the chance to do anything but drop back into coverage. If Urlacher played in a different scheme there is no doubt in my mind that he'd have huge numbers. Also I did not check your facts so I'm only assuming you're not lying with those stats.

Zach Thomas has successfully tackled Jerome Bettis.

Not the best film but it should jog some memories.

He might not be able to tackle Bettis but he doesn't do this either.

Coverage has nothing to do with run defense. Linebackers always read for run before they make their pass drops/man reads.

If I was comparing sack totals between the two, coverage responsibilities would be relevant.

Now that sacks HAVE been brought up, Urlacher has twice as many Thomas does (37.5 to 19.5). This means either Urlacher is a far better blitzer (yes, but not to that extent) or he's been allowed to blitz more (probably has more to do with the discrepancy).

That means Thomas has probably been asked to cover more than Urlacher has. And having watched the two, I don't think there's anything wrong with Thomas's pressure abilities when utilized. I've seen him do some superman jumping-over-fullback type shit.

To clarify, I'm not pissing on Urlacher, just the notion he is superior to Zach Thomas.

>>170925
I'm not pissing on Zach Thomas either, just saying he's not a HoFer while Urlacher will be. Also, It's unfair to say that Thomas has been to more Pro Bowls in his career because he has been playing so much longer than Urlacher. I think maybe we should just agree to disagree.
>> Anonymous
Urlacher and Thomas are the same
but Miami tends to blitz the Mike Linebackers

more often than not, while the Bears like to put

Urlacher in coverage cause he can pick the ball

right out of the air most of the time. Thus you

get Brians lagging stats though you should

compare Forced Fumble stats and Interception

stats. Brian would be in the lead.
>> Anonymous
>>170939Also, It's unfair to say that Thomas has been to more Pro Bowls in his career because he has been playing so much longer than Urlacher.

It's not unfair: Zach Thomas has played 4 more years and been named All-Pro 3 more times. %-wise that's a fairly significant fact.

They'll both go the HoF, there's no way you can send one and not the other, they've been the premier mike backers in the conferences for the last decade.
>> Anonymous
>>170947though you should compare Forced Fumble stats and Interception stats. Brian would be in the lead.

Urlacher may be in the "lead" in interceptions, with 15 in 9 years to 17 in 13, but Thomas has twice the number of forced fumbles, 15 to 8.

>>170955
Well Anon you've swayed me, I've always liked Zach Thomas anyway. I still don't think he's better than Urlacher but I could see him in the HoF, anyway he's a lot better than that overrated piece of shit Tedy Bruschi.
