Okay /sp/ serious question here.

In the future will Robots be allowed to compete with Humans. And also will there be a Robot Jackie Robinson who breaks the circuit barrier and becomes a star.

I have seen the future. The Lions will go 0-32. They will Draft Michael Crabtree

He will dream the Lions win the Superbowl after his is paralyzed in a game. The Lions will never win it.

nah, humans will just get special powers like that football game in starship troopers.

That would be awesome.

No as they won't even allow people with basic enhancements play in the Olympics and sports now. No way robots compete with humans. No one would want to watch robots play anyway. Although it's very subtle what makes sports so great is the emotion.

That's robot discrimination. They may have to do all our shit jobs one day and all they will want to do is to sack Tony Montavius Romo III but they will not be allowed to. They can dream though, they can dream.

Emotion and at least the feeling that you are watching the best of the best playing with nothing but the talent they were born with, and the strength they developed in practice.

Its why I and many others look down on steroid users. In order for the sport to have the same feeling to it, there has to at least be the idea that the development of the players was due to a constant grind and hard work in the gym/on the field. No drinking your way to success.

If they want to play so bad they can form their OWN league. Like anyone would go watch it though.

Anthrofag here with a different take on this question.

If science reaches the point where formerly extinct human species could be brought back, should they be allowed to compete in our sports?
>> Anonymous
yes. also if we can bring back former sports stars we should.
