Bradley Names 22-Man Roster to Prepare for Clash With England on May 28 at Famed Wembley Stadium

“We’re excited about the challenge of playing England in Wembley Stadium,” said Bradley, who leads a U.S. team that is undefeated in 2008 and is currently riding a five-match unbeaten run dating back to Oct. 17, 2007. “We expect that this is going to be a fantastic experience. Overall, we look forward to a good week of training and continuing the process of preparing for the task of qualifying for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.”

Am I the only Amerifag going to support the US boys?

you know how itll be, most americans wont care. if it happens and americans lose, theyll blow off any insults. if the americans somehow win, theyll go batshit crazy and act like retards, moreso than usual.

I support the US team.

Hell, I would buy tickets for the US-Argentina friendly in a few weeks, if i wasn't a poor college student and tickets weren't over 100 bucks for decent seats.

Lol, beating England is like getting a gold medal in the special olympics.

I'd really get into soccer if we had a good team. I really wish more superior athletes would try out for soccer instead of other sports. It would so awesome to troll all the third world countries.

Odds Amerifags will get beaten in the streets for not supporting glorious England?

i don't follow it because there is better soccer to watch in europe.

do europeans watch their shitty basketball leagues, or watch the nba?

I follow both MLS and the Premiership. It's mega-win because EPL season ends right when the MLS season starts. It's soccer 24/7.

Let me count the ways
1) MLS has crap commentary and play by play. I mean CRAP.
2)Landon 'golden boy' Donovan. "They won't play me overseas, BAAAAAWWW! Take me back MLS!"
DO NOT WANT.
3) Quality of play is sadly not as good.
4) The fans are crap. Where are the chants, the songs? Being in an English stadium and hearing the whole damn place singing the same song is an experience you need to have before comparing fans. 20 guys and a drum screaming 'Xenu loves you' at Beckham don't even come close.
5) Merchandise is crap and always, always out. One year the Revs didn't get in any jerseys to sell until the second to last game of the season. Whut?
I list these as an MLS ticket holder. I want the MLS to be better. It's been over a decade and no such luck. Sadly, I could go on.

As a former MLS season ticket holder, I agree with everything this man said.

In fact, those are all the reasons I quit with the season tickets. Plus my club is the Rapids, so fuck that.

Don't worry, my fellow fan. Soon enought, my brown bretheren from south of the border shall grant you a better game day experience.

By that, I mean loud, drunken singing in unison whilst setting fire to garbage cans, throwing flares and toilet paper rolls onto the field, and instigating riots with rival fans.

Been to 9 different home grounds, which for an amerifag isn't too bad I think.
Not all fans are great - like Arsenal, where everyone was too preoccupied with texting on their phones to watch Henri score. Maybe apathy is a french trait? But man, some fans were awesome. Chelsea and Charlton(CC Division) were highlights.

1) You don't watch Telefutura. Speak Spanish.

2) Nobody wants Landycakes. But this is the league that spawned Adu, Dempsey, Howard, Ruiz, and Friedel.

3) Yes, but who cares. Tell a brit why he shouldn't care that Watford plays against Palace, or tell a Mexican why he shouldn't watch Toluca against Santos. You will probably get your ass kicked in.

4) Yep. Only the Ultras can bring it. ESC, Galaxians, Barra Brava and the Chivas. All the other fans can kiss it.

5) There is your problem, you are a Revs fan. Enjoy your fail, here is Twellman BAAAAWING, just like you are.
>> Anonymous
>>113089

1) I shouldn't need to learn a new language to follow a team that plays 30 minutes from me. I'm glad to hear that all the commentators aren't crap though.
2) The way MLS catered to Landon to get him back to the US was an insult to other players, especially Ruiz.
3) I care. As someone who pays for a ticket, I should care about the quality of play that I get to watch.
4) We don't need to be the Ultras, but MLS needs to do something to get fans into the game when they are there. Maybe at the beginning of the season have contests for new chants, practice before and at half time? I don't know, I'm not in marketing, but do SOMETHING.
5) Yes, I know. BAAAAAWWWW.

Real team chants aren't produced this way.

euro cup doesnt have anything to do with world cup

euro cup is a competition with european selections

just like copa america, where american teams go.

they still dont play the quallys

I think the US has a good chance of beating England.

England are in a mess right now and it's gonna take Capello years to turn them around, if ever.
>> Anonymous
>>113018

No good atmosphere in England for years thanks to the seats, families and women turning up. You've never experienced proper football.
>> Anonymous
USA vs England? Oh gawd, the sheer level of fail this game will produce is well over 9000.
>> Anonymous
>>113127
Indeed.

Only when the games have big Ultra sections are when MLS crowds truly exciting. It's fucking hard to sit in DC without experiencing the Barra Brava and the Screaming eagles. And hell, during a Superclassico in LA, Area 51 and the Galaxians are trying to outsing the Chivas Legion. Those games have tremendous atmosphere, and the MLS needs more of it.

Basically, at a soccer game, be the fan you are. Sing, be loud, and be fucking obnoxious. Most Yanks are fat fucks either 1)sitting idly on their ass talking about their miserable lives, or 2)Asshole Eurofags (Like you) complaining how this isn't the premiereship. Don't be those fuckwads. When it comes to atmosphere, BRING IT WITH YOU.
>> Anonymous
What a shitty thread. Watching a MLS game equals to me trying to have fun at my 9-5 job. The only way MLS will be better , since the US can't produce any good players somehow, is to outsource their players from rest of the world.
>> Anonymous
>>113291
Been there done that. Donadoni, Hernandez, Mattheus, Zenga, Palencia, Myung-Bo, Herzog, Azizi, etc.

Take a look at MLS now, and see how far it's come. Or better yet, watch the Superliga this year.

Honestly, right now, the MLS is faster but less creative than the FMF, and definitely better than the Colaship.

Watch out for Marco Vidal his team is playing to get to the first Mexican division and he decided to play for USA. I've never been a fan of Klesjan (sp?) on the U-XX teams and I think he could play the part better.

Keep an eye on him. (He couldn't go to France because of the playoff in Mexico.)

Let's see--Out of the MLS:

Ruiz, Adu, Bradley, McBride, Etcheverry, Beasley, Bornstein, Dempsey, Howard, and Friedel.

And your point is?

Get a load of Jose Francisco Torres of Pachuca. Kid was born in Texas, and being scouted by both Mexico and the USA. I really hope BB gives him a look.
>> Anonymous
>>113300
It's true. US coaches need to start getting on the fucking Mexican-American train. Mexico is nipping at our amazing soccer players because we seemingly ignore the Latin influence. Americans will continue to make amazing defenders, goalkeepers, holding midfielders and large strikers but if we ever hope of having play makers and strikers that aren't afraid to pull the trigger we gotta get some of these border boys.

(Watching the U-23 olymp without Adu and Bradley was painful it was like the fucking ball was a hot potatoe and people kept yelling NO YOU SHOOT NO YOU NO YOU.)
>> Anonymous
>>113297
Nobody doubts that between all the faggy leagues in the Americas some are better than the others but ultimately all of them are shitty and pointless so it's not worth discussing.

At the FC Dallas game, a mom told her kids not to grow up to be like us in Spanish. I was the only one singing. The three kids were wearing Beckham jerseys and gave me nasty looks when I chanted Rogaine at Donovan. The only time my section stood up was when Beckham had the ball on the wing, as if he was going to dribble through Serioux the Badass. People were leaving the stadium at the 70th minute and when Buddle headered in a goal kids in FC Dallas jerseys were cheering for Galaxy. Keep kids out of soccer. Keep DUMB women out of soccer. They need to have a fucking picnic section on one side of the stadium so the rest of us can have fun.
