I'm in the market for a road bike, probably fixed gear.

Any advice as far as pricing? I'd like to go used over new.

my 21 year old Tange2 road bike. Had it since '87.
first 'real' bike I ever bought. Now it's relegated to my fluid trainer for winter workouts.

Shimano 600EX S.I.S. grouppo, and BioPace II chainrings
11-21 6 sp freewheel, and 42/52 chainrings

nothing wrong with that

hmm fixies aren't my forte, but sheldonbrown.com has a lot of info on them.
Most fixies are DIY projects more so than something bought in a store, so you may want to figure your gearing and then build your own from the frameset up, epending on what you want, or convert an existing bike you like to a fixie.

Well it'd really only be for commute and from my house to my work is 100% flat.

I've seen some fixed gears on craigslist in my area for $125. It seems like a decent price to me, but I'm not sure on bike pricing.

my ATB.

Trek Fuel EX 9.5 ('07)
OCLV110 carbon frame
Shimano XTR group
Rock Shox SID world cup fork and MC3.R rear shock with remote adj. poplocks
Mavic crossmax SL-R wheelset with Maxxis Larsen TT UST tires (tubeless)

nice bike. 22lbs for a full suspension bike isn't too shabby.

absolutely.
I was going to suggest CL or eBay in that case.

just pick up a kryptonite mini U lock and that's about all you need to secure the bike at work, too.
put the U lock through the back wheel, and around a post as noted here:

Just getting into ATBs now, too. That Trek is my first full suspension bike.

ahh nice stuff. Campy's groups have always been like artwork. I remember drooling over the C-Record set back in the 80s even.
great lines.
