So Crosby's entry level contract expires at the end of this season, which means next year his real contract will kick in. So that was what? 9 million a season right?

Okay. So now MAF is going to be a restricted free agent after this year, and is going to be looking for lets say 7-8 million a season. I say he can bargain for more, but lets leave it at 7.5.

After the 2008-2009 season, Stall and Malkin become restricted free agents. Now it gets sticky. Stall could easily make 7 million per season with any other team, but I'm going to put him down to 6 for you CB. Malkin on the other hand, uh oh. With Crosby only making 9 million, do you really offer him more than that? With the cap going the way it is, and with recent signings, He could make well over 10 a season with a team like LA.

So here you're going to have close to 40 million in cap room, for just 4 players. Not to mention that after this season the penguins are going to have Dupuis, Hall, Hossa, Laraque, Malone, Orpik, Roberts, Ruutu, and Taffe free agents as well.

And you honestly think that you'll keep Hossa CB. Tsk tsk. Hell, I'd enjoy Malkin while you can, because I guarantee he will not be a Penguin by the 2010 season.

Yeah, no real hockey fan would pass up a stanley cup final game.

Seriously, I've passed up dates [with real girls!] parties [with real friends!] and even taken a day or two off work [at a real job!] to go to a hockey game with the old man. And really? I'm a casual fan, at best...Although I am Canadian, which explains a bit.

There's nothing better than going to a game with the man who brought you into this god damn world. Not even going with friends can compare to that. Of course, CB is no longer following this post, as he has no friends and his parents won't take him to hockey games because he spends all his time on 4chan instead of doing homework.
>> Anonymous
>>133745

Only way I would ever pass those tickets up is if someone was charging way more than face value. Like he "supposedly" sold them for. rofl.
>> Anonymous
>>133777
Agreed, and even then, I live in Toronto. How many times am I gonna get to see a cup final?

If the chance ever presented itself to take the old man to one last hockey game and it was a fucking final, I'd sell every possession valuable to me for that.

Mellon Arena IS a shithole. It wasn't even designed for hockey... it has a retractable roof for godsakes. Joe Louis is a very utilitarian arena but it blows Mellon out of the water. There are many seats at Mellon in the lower bowl that can't even see the whole goddamn ice. I got snookered into buying one of those seats, not a terrific experience.
