This man deserves an MBE for services to sport.

In his career spanning over 20 years, he played 754 games. Every single senior game was played for Grimsby Town FC. He is one of only 17 players in the history of English football to play more then 600 league games for a single club. There was so much respect for him that in his final match, the game was brought to a momental halt as fans of both Grimsby and their opponents for that night, Shrewsbury, gave him a standing ovation as he walked off the pitch one last time.

If there is any footballer who deserves a place in 'The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire', it is this man.
