if you look at it objectively, the NBA salary system is pretty fair. it scales upward based on your years in the league. they have a rookie salary cap, unlike the NFL. the soft cap allows teams to keep stars, but penalizes them with a luxury tax. while contracts are guaranteed, they've been shortened to five years, which gives further protection from moronic signings.
