The Jets are reportedly poised to make free agent G Alan Faneca a deal averaging $8 million per season.
Interestingly, the NY Daily News notes that the Jets are expected to "outbid the Rams and 49ers," neither of which we've heard linked to Faneca. Niners GM Scot McCloughan is outspokenly opposed to giving guards monster contracts. The Rams are needy there, but in poor salary cap condition.

i think michael turner will be the biggest player that actually leaves the team hes on now

All reports on Derek Anderson are erroneous. Anderson has signed a 4 year, 99 million Canadian dollar deal to play for the Winnipeg Huskers of NFL Canada. Anderson decided that Canadian money was worth more than US money. The Huskers will send their 1st and 3rd round picks in the Canadian draft to the Browns as compensation.

It is being reported that Derek Anderson will be signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He will compete for the starting job with: Donovan McNabb, Jeff Garcia, Byron Leftwich, Chris Simms, Daunte Culpepper, Jim Sorgi, and surprise signing Kordell "Flash" Stewart.

what is a poison pill?
>> Anonymous
>>20354
A poison pill is an offer sheet offered to a free agent marked with the transition player tag with clauses that make it impossible for the tagging team to match equally. The Vikings popularized the poison pill sheet by signing Hutchinson from the Seahawks, by including a clause that Hutchinson would be the highest paid lineman on the team. He would've already been the highest paid OL on the Vikings team, so it doesn't cost them anything to include the clause, but for the Seahawks to match it, it would've escalated the value of the deal to a good deal higher than the vikings were actually offering.
>> Anonymous
>>20358
Ah yes, Hutchinsons poison pill.
If he wasn't the highest paid lineman on the team, all the money in his contrat would be guaranteed.
Ouch.

good call, jags signed Jerry porter to a six-year, $30mil deal
>> Lambchop's Death Legion
I hope the Giants let Shockey go. The guy was just a distraction who brought the team down. Kevin Boss can do all that he did, and not be an asshat about it.

Asante went to Philadelphia. Also, Miami should sign Kordell ''Flash'' Stewart. But you didn't hear it from me that Parcells is a bitch.

The final word in free agency cannot be expressed until the Cardinals sign theirs. Oh and extend Larry Fitzgerald's contract.

what kinds of fools make a team through the draft? thats just crazy talk
>> Anonymous
>>21002

>Kordell ''Flash'' Stewart

His nickname is Slash, not Flash. As in he's a quarterback/running back/wide receiver. See, all the slashes in there? That's why they call him Slash.

Flash is either a douchebag who beat up Peter Parker or a douchebag who can run really fast and... um... run really fast.

i would agree
but does anyone know where is all the steelers is money tied up?
they dont keep alot of their players who want new contracts (joey porter, plaxico buress, randle el, faneca) which i can understand, as usually those players arent worth the ridiculous amount they want, but they also dont get any big name free agents to replace those lost players
i just dont get it when teams like dallas seem to sign and keep alot of stars
