At the GM Meetings today some GMs had talks about contact swaps. In which you trade the players with a big or useless contract to another team with the similar contract in hopes they player can have a bounce back year.

Example: Julio Lugo for Dontrelle Willis.

Dontrelle will only be good as a Marlin.

Remember when Willis was good?

He was good every time he pitched (or batted) against the Mets. This made me sad.

He always batted well against the Mets as well.

Yeah, that was mentioned. Learn to read.

Did you guys talk about how he hit HRs against the Mets?

It happens all the time. People get big (or revive their career) with Marlins, the Marlins can't pay for them, they get released or traded. New team signs them for 8 years and $23890403484343, only to have them suck.

See Carl Pavano, Armando Benitez, Todd Jones, Charles Johnson

There are several exceptions, though

I'd take him for Castillo, just to spite the two of them.
