Hey AoF, saw you on /a/ yesterday. I thought I was the only /a/hole who moonlit as a /sp/artan.

This must be what it's like...when doves cry ;_;

Flyers' front office wants another game at the Wachovia Center.

Flyers will just throw this one. Don't expect them to show up until the third.

You don't seem to realize an NHL franchise is a business.
>> Anonymous
>>86134
Only the Leafs treat their team like a business. Every other franchaise treats their team like a team and the merchandise and behind-the-scenes things like business.
>> Anonymous
>>86142

HA HA HA

OH WOW
>> Anonymous
>>86134
>>86153
You honestly think that any team would want to throw a game in the playoffs? There is no way any coach, GM, President, whoever, would deem this reasonable.

Especially after the last series against Washington being up 3-1.

Whoever said a fan of animation could not also partake in sporting events?
>> Anonymous of Philadelphia !!CF3BKIiUIDY
>>86165
They are both pros and cons against such an idea.

For the Flyers, where every game counts since their skill isn't very high, I highly doubt making a couple extra bucks is worth throwing a game over.
>> Anonymous
>>86153
>>86134

If you believe in what you have to say, stop saging faggot.

Also, if "every NHL team franchise plays like it's a buisiness" then why would a golden goose like Colorado/Detroit end in 4 with pure dominance by the Wings?
>> Anonymous
>>86166
noone, but it seems we're the only two.
>> Anonymous
>>86169

Not every business is run identically, faggot. Some franchises may not need (or think they need) the extra cash.

Flyers missed out on the playoffs last year after many straight appearances. They missed out on that revenue they'd becomin accustomed to recieving. Why wouldn't they milk a series they're dominating to make some of that money back?

Momentum mother fucker, do you know it?
>> Anonymous
>>86184

When was the last time Montreal had more than ten quality shots in a game? Lurk the NHL moar if you don't understand how the Flyers defensive zone play is giving Montreal fits.

>>86185

Didn't help the Caps much, now did it?
>> Anonymous
>>86181
Seriously you're a dumbass. If they "throw" tonights game, and then end up losing the next in Philadelphia, then they have to play game 7 in Montreal, with Montreal having all the momentum.

No team would lose a game on purpose in the playoffs, for money or not. It's one thing to do what the Penguins did in the last game of the year, or even in Football at the end of a season when they rest all of their starters, but when it comes to the post season, every game is a must win.
>> CapitalistBastard !!f/pELCnjRD0
>>86184

>More like holding on for dear life.

Accurate post is accurate.
>> Anonymous
>>86191
Have you watched the series? If it wasn't for Biron this would be a sweep for Monteal. And Washington brought it to overtime in the 7th game after being down 3-1. They were victim of an unfortunate rebound in that OT and lost the game. I think momentum did them well.
>> Anonymous
>>86193

Enjoy your own head up your ass.

If momentum is such an undefeatable thing, why did the Caps series go past 5? How does three straight build less momentum than two straight?

You'll see the Flyers take it easy tonight. I guarantee it.
>> Anonymous
>>86198
Because Washington won that 5th game and gained the momentum back.
>> Anonymous
Flyers bandwagon filled up quickly.

Where were you faggots in the last series?

Even this tripfag didn't show up until the Flyers were 3-1 over the Caps.
>> Anonymous
>>86200

But by this ZOMG MOMENTUM logic, Washington should not have been able to win the fifth game. Momentum is over-rated.
>> Anonymous
>>86202
You need to lurk moar.

And anyone saying that a team will lose on purpose in the playoffs is an idiot.

Canadian(as in from Canada)fag and Leaffag here. Personally I root for the Canadian teams, but as a Leaffag I can't root for Ottawa or Montreal, so with Calgary gone I'm pretty much done. To make it watchable I've picked Philly just because I grew up around the corner from Jeff Carter. So if that means I'm hopping on the bandwagon, than so be it.
>> Anonymous of Philadelphia !!CF3BKIiUIDY

the return of the Canadiens' power play?
>> Anonymous
The only reason CB wants Philly to lose is because if the last two series have been any indication I'd most definately prefer to play against a top-seed team that's been showing clear signs of slumping. Take it from a Wingsfag who's still stinging from 2006, those lower-seeded teams can really bite you in the ass if they decide to go on a roll.

Great first period

Damn Umberger >:3

This anon is right, everything can happen in playoffs and that's just what's happening with Habs/Flyers.

This said, I'm still hoping Habs will do an epic comeback and win the series but it's not very likely to happen.

Well, just hope this game will be more exciting.
