>>20411 The SWC needed to die because it was only in Texas (one Ark. team) and no one outside Texas gave a shit. With the Big 12, it's spread out over six states, giving it a much more epic feel, and the ability to compete with traditional cults, I mean conferences, the SEC and Big Eleven.
No SEC team would ever leave that cash-cow, but remember the current Big 12 line-up is only ten years old. And remember when it was first formed, it was the NORTH that was the unstoppable powerhouse. K/K-State have gone to bowls, and have beaten good teams. Texas Tech may not compete for the national championship, but they go to a bowl EVERY year.
And unlike other BCS conferences, the Big 12 can beat MWC teams.
