Is that some faggotry?

Rooney - bought minimum 20 million
Ronaldo - bought 12.4 million
Hargreaves - bought 17 million
Nani - bought 17 million
Anderson - bought 18 million
Carrick - bought 11-18 million
Ferdinand - bought for over 30 million?
Berbatov - bought for 30 million
Tevez - Dont even want to know how much money has quietly changed hands there...

You got schooled, the old Chelsea buys their players argument fails, cos so does everyone else fag.

Listen, asshats. If Liverpool had any plastic fans, 19 YEARS OF "NOT WINNING ANYTHING" would have driven them off by now.

I've been a 'pool fan since Robbie Fowler, and while we do win some cups on occasion, supporting Liverpool just gives you sadness and grief year after year after year.

plastics dont stay long with us.
>> Anonymous
I'm a United fan. I do agree that the whole "well Chelsea buy their players" thing is extremely stale and makes no sense. If you've got the money, why the fuck wouldn't you use it?

I also understand why the fan base is hated. It's a shame though, but most popular sports teams have bandwagon fanbases as well. I guess you're entitled to hate United if you're a Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, :insert EPL team here:. But on the flip side, if you're a United fan, you're entitled to hate them as well. It's just a cycle, so I don't get caught up in it.

Another amerifag here. Is Arsenal hated? I'm trying to get into football and I want a team to root for. I'm leaning toward Arsenal because apparently they're usually good, and, they have a fucking cannon for a logo.
>> Anonymous
>>446303

Rooney was bought for a minimum 20 mil, and more was paid based on his performance etc etc so I think yes the final figure may well have been closer to 30 million.

Dont forget that Rio Ferdinand broke the british transfer record and the record for the world's most expensive defender when he joined Leeds, when was it, 99/2000? He then broke both records again on his joining of Manchester United in 2002. Basic was around 20 mil, and also probably performance based extras that would have raised the price considerably.
>> Anonymous
>>446325
I would say no probably. But im sure Spurs and Chelsea hate them.

Gooners would probably be a good choice really, play decent football, not seen as a major bandwagon team, not overly hated.

I don't know what the availability of smaller games is like in America but before you choose, watch a number of smaller games involving less famous teams. See if any attract you, their play style, players whatever. Dont just choose a team because they good because I promise you will just be labelled a bandwagon supporter.

I can certainly explain why us Chelsea fans hate Man Utd; the fans are unbelievably childish and arrogant, most of them have never been to OT, Alex Ferguson is a hypocritical prick, Utd regard Chelsea as usurpers when we've been a top four club for a long time since Abramovich, etc etc
>> Anonymous
>>446401
In response to your second point, I wouldn't rate most of them as a "real striker". Benjani hasn't really scored for us. Jo could be, but he doesn't seem to have the kind of finishing or stregnth for a forward. Bojinov looks very promising, but constantly injured. Sturridge also looks good, but too young. Evans is again too young to tell, seems to me he has a good workrate..

When i say a real striker, I mean someone who will score a lot of goals and has that certain feel to him. I can't describe it.

Kompany is a good enough defensive mid, but admittedly we do need some serious help defensivley.

Most of the hate for United comes from their run of titles in the 90's, when you'd have to be seriously one-eyed to not see the luck they were enjoying. Last gasp winners, incomprehensible refereeing decisions, totally undeserved victories - I think their 1999 champions' league final win is probably the best example of complete and utter robbery ever to take place on a football pitch.

That said, they are a classy side these days, and really deserve their success. The trouble is, their success has attracted a lot of fans who are fans of United before they are fans of the sport, and they give their real fans a very bad name with their arrogance and ignorance.
>> Anonymous
>>447176

Lol, truth on the FM thing. You have to be deliberately doing something wrong to not win the Premiership within 5 years if you start off with a team in the Championship.

Ronaldo is a large reason United get a lot of haet at the moment. It's not like if he wasn't there no one would hate them, but it definitely adds to it.

no, silly evertonian. You're not bitter because of all the money LFC has, not because of all the players we buy.. you're bitter because back in the 80's Everton used to be good, and used to give LFC a fight for the league and the FA Cup.

Then the decade turned, and while Liverpool found new strength in Europe, you just got kicked out of the Carling and the UEFA cup in October, on the wrong side of the league table and haven't won anything, ANYTHING, since Lineker.
