hay guise,

I'm relatively new to hockey, but I have noticed how SERIOUS BUSINESS hockey to the Atlantic Division. The Flyers, Rangers, Devils, and Islanders all legitimately desire each others' heads on poles marching through downtown. The fans are bloody violent, with fistfights and knife brandishing and parking lot brawls very common incidents at hockey games. However, I look at the rest of the NHL (even going as far as the Canadian teams) and realize that the rest of the NHL isn't nearly as adamantly passionate as the Philly-Jersey-New York area. Sure, there are die-hard fans in Canada, Detroit, Minnesota, and other various "hockey towns" but for the Atlantic Division its SERIOUS BUSINESS.

But why? What makes the Atlantic Division so fucking special? Why are the fans so passionate? Why do they fight and die for their teams? Why is their loyalty so strong and unwavering?

Picture sorta related (my parents brought me up to be a fan of the Flyers...I'm from Maryland btw)

If I had to guess, it's a matter of proximity. Which would also explain why you left out the Penguins.

Replace "Islanders" with "Penguins" and you're about right. No one cares about the Islanders, they are former shadows of themselves, and only had a few good seasons in the early 80s.

because the Flyers are the best God damned team in the history of sports, and Rangers fans, Islanders fans, Penguins fans, and Devils fans are AIDS-infested immigrants who deserve to be locked in a furnace and incinerated alive

also fuck you

Hi CB

The Pacific West is the craziest division.

KINGS?! DUCKS?! COYOTES?! SHARKS?! AND THE FUCKING STARS?!

Man, we have some intense blood going there...

uhh, despite their recent success, the penguins have been the "hay guise can I play too" of the Atlantic division...

also remember that between 1995-2007, it was either philly or jersey that won the atlantic title

Montreal should get back their exclusive right to draft the top french prospect each year so all the French faggots would stay in just one place.

Our division rivalries are pretty tame, though. It's only Detroit.

(And Vancouver a couple years ago, but that's over now.)

There may be better individual rivalries (Habs/Bruins, 90s Avs/Wings), but the Mid-Atlantic is an entire division that hates each other (except the Pens, since no one cares about the Pens). That takes the Tastykake for me.

I Say The central is a serious division,
Detroit's a juggernaut Chicago's A Young Team of Talented stars, Nashville's fighting to stay where they are,St. Louis is trying to make a comeback, and Columbus is... well a damn joke to be honest.

The eastern conferance as a whole is insane to be honest..
>> Anonymous
>>379377
The only thing that makes the Central a serious division is Detroit's bizarre difficulty with playing its teams. Chicago looks to provide some genuine competiton this season though.
