Isn't it the start of the season? Srsly, you only take your keeper up forward if you're absolutely starving for points.

Yeah its generally accepted to do it when its like your last attack of the game, especially if it's a set piece like a corner or free kick.

Although the ONLY time i've ever heard of this working and a kepper scoring a goal was Paul Robinson's header for Leeds a few years ago which saved a match for them.

Peter Schmeichel, Champions League final 1999. He didn't actually score the goal, but ended up causing enough confusion for them to.

Oh yeah didn't think of that one, though Robinson is the only one of the top of my head who actually scored a goal. He seems to score alot of bizarre goals, like that one directly from a free kick just outside his own box...against Liverpool i think?

another one he took a freekick about 10yards from HIS BOX headed straight for the other side.. defender didnt clear it and let it bounce over the keeper or something.

funny

Yeah it ended that keeper's England career and gave it to Robinson lol...

I remember watching that match, for the rest of the game every time he got the balls the fans screamed 'Shoot, shoot!'.

Was one from Sevillas goalie last UEFA Cup that ultimatly took them to the final and win it (think it was in the round of 16)

Brad Friedel scored a goal for Blackburn a couple years ago to nab a late equalizer against Charlton (I believe).

In true Blackburn fashion, they conceded another goal and thus ruined the moment.

Jimmy Glass scored a vital goal for Carlisle, saving them from relegation to the non-league. How about that for goalie scoring an important goal.
>> Anonymous
>>116120
Um, yes you do when you're 2-1 down. For example. Your goalie goes up and you have a 10% higher chance of scoring but 50% chance of conceding you take that risk because if you don't you're probably going to lose anyway.
