Guillem Balague;
The Robinho transfer to Chelsea has been in the balance right up until the 11th hour, largely due to a number of differences of opinion at the Bernabeu. The situation had been fairly unpredictable and conflicting reports were coming out of the Bernabeu: until now.

Madrid have now finally moved to end the saga and the message coming out of Madrid is clear: Real Madrid will not sell Robinho to Chelsea during this transfer window.

As far as Real Madrid are concerned - or rather - as far as the president is concerned, it is a question of dignity. Ramon Calderon had been under pressure, including from his own sporting director, Pedrag Mijatovic, to cede to the player's wishes and allow him to leave.

Unlucky Chelsea =D

Sporting Lisbon's had contact from staff at the Emirates today.
Wenger may be swooping for Veloso.
It makes sense if you think about it: Fizsman says Wenger's got 30 million to spend. Veloso's buy out clause is thought to be in the region of 25-30 million, so when Fizsman said that Wenger could spend 30 million on a player if he wanted to, he might have been referring to Veloso...

United don't have a decent playmaker at the moment. Ronaldo should be a playmaker but he creates nothing for anyone but himself, as long as he's scoring plenty of goals nobody is complaining of course. But while he's missing you can see how confused the other attackers are. Rooney is a centre forward who now thinks he's a defensive midfielder, Tevez is a lone striker who now thinks he's a winger.

tl:dr Rooney and Tevez are under performing because Ronaldo has left United's attack completely out of balance. Solution - Sell Ronaldo.

It's a little annoying but as a Chelsea fan it's not like I can complain about that sort of thing.

City is the new Chelsea. Tons of money; retarded owners.

The Spurs website says they have agreed to sell Dimitar Berbatov to Manchester United for £30.75m, with Fraizer Campbell going to Spurs on a season-long loan. Did you get all that?

His first game for City could be against Chelsea.

So, no one ended up buying Arshavin after all. There was so much talk about him coming to Europe to play club football after the Euro. What happened, did his Russian team ask for too much money?

I'm a City fan and that made me laugh.

The thing is that City only bid £32M for Berba for the lulz too. They knew that they had no chance of getting him but just wanted to piss off United and show that they are capable of playing with the big boys now. Meanwhile, behind the smoke and mirrors, they were working hard to get the REAL target. Robinho.

Most entertaining transfer deadline day ever.

Pic kinda related. It's City's new chairman with Pamela Anderson.

And United still got him for less than that...
