>Phil Hughes is going on the disabled list with a strained oblique muscle, according to Newsday."Strained oblique muscle" is Yankee talk for, "See Hughes isn't that bad, he's just been hurt the whole time....really."
Hughes/Kennedy/Chamberlain remind this Metsfag of our once coveted young pitching trio of Pulsipher/Isringhausen/Wilson.

hughes is going to have to either go back to the minors or leave new york to learn how to be a real pitcher.he won't be able to do it in the spotlight.
Remember when the Yankees refused to trade this guy for Johan Santana?HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
>>83408Way to fail it, Hank. Now they're second-best in a town of two teams.
I would have traded him for Santana. But I still think Hughes will become an ace caliber pitcher eventually... Just give him some time.
>>83475They could have traded Ian Kennedy then.HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
I don't think johan santana was anything when he was phil's age but srsly, they should limit the bullpen and let young pitchers pitch more.We always get how we're supposed to save their arms by limiting their innings but they still get hurt just as much as the old days when pitchers pitched complete games.
>>83227Spot on
second best team in town.. mets are fucking horrible right now.. santana cant stop giving up the LONG ball.. IN SHEA no less
>>83631hi you must be new to baseball. check out ol' johan's home run rate over the past 4 years. when he was dominating baseball no less. dude gives up home runs man. everyone in baseball, including the mets, knew this when they signed him
Kennedy/Cano/Melky/Another small name armor Hughes/Melky/Small ArmWere the two proposed deal for Santana, I believeFrankly, If I'm the twins, I'd have jumped on either of those.
>>83673me too but i believe the twins really wanted to trade santana out of the league. which meant they took the mets shitty deal instead
>>83673Why would you trade Melky? IMO they should trade Damon and make Melky the cornerstone of the outfield. Same with Cano, he is struggling right now, but I don't doubt he will be batting .300 by the break.
>>83744Newfag is new. The whole reason the Twins had to trade Santana is because they couldn't afford to pay him. That's why the only things viable for trade are young players who don't make as much.Lol at 13M a year for washed up Damon.
>A second examination on Yankees right-hander Phil Hughes revealed a stress fracture of his ninth rib on the right side, which will put the 21-year-old rookie out of action until at least July, general manager Brian Cashman said Thursday. It only gets better.
I see the Yankees are making shit up again to cover up for his shitting pitching.
>>83937ESPN reporting the Yankees suspect he broke it while coughing.I couldn't make this shit up.
>>83937>stress fractureTranslation: we don't want him pitching for the next too months, but we can't look like idiots since we didn't trade him for Santana.
>>83944This is why us AL East fans laugh at the Yankees.
Brace for a stupid and/or costly trade.
Brace for stupid/costly trade like the Yankees always do.
>>83948>next too months, but we can't look like idiots>too months, but look like idiots>too months, look like idiots>too, idiot
