Phillyfag here.

All the criticisms of Lindros are deserved.

But he was absolutely unreal before his head turned to mush. He was as skilled as any finesse player you can think of, but was tough and strong and nasty. The Flyers cycle during his healthy years was fucking frightening.

Lots of folks in hockey raped his corpse because his parents were so controlling, but it's actually kind of a shame about the concussions. He was a muthafuckin Hall of Famer.

His concussions were the direct result of the way he played. They weren't freak accidents.

At least look at the bright side: the way he carried the puck through the neutral zone with his head down is now used in youth hockey programs around the world to show the kids what NOT to do.
