So is it smart to put a stadium in a swamp?

like the people in the ghetto can pay for the tickets to watch the game anyways.

Was already there. No problem.

It's not a swamp anymore after you cover it with concrete and asphalt and such.

So that's how it looks when it's retarded. I kinda always wondered.

Judging from the capital city we built in a swamp, no.

Is it smart to put a ghetto around the stadium?

I'm sure Tillinghast L'Hommedieu Huston and Jacob Ruppert realized just how ghetto the Bronx would be in 1923

If I went to Fenway they would think I work there and they'll ask me to clean up their brother Sully's spilled beeah.

Wouldn't a stadium develop the neighborhood into a not ghetto? Also lotsa other stadiums have done this.

Has never been to the Bronx.

I've seen stadiums in worse neighborhoods.

Wow look at how nice this area is! Thank God the Orange Bowl is here!
>> Anonymous
It wasn't the ghetto when it was built, it was all nice though poor Irish/Italians/Germans/Jews and blacks weren't allowed to live there, it got really shitty after the white flight. The area really fucked up the team too, noone would go to games in the early 90's because of crack infested niggers.

We wanted to build one on the West Side but our faggot jew mayor refused, but the good news is that the trains will go right into the stadium so we never have to set foot on South Bronx soil ever again!

>We wanted to build one on the West Side but our faggot jew mayor refused, but the good news is that the trains will go right into the stadium so we never have to set foot on South Bronx soil ever again!

Wrongest statement ever.
Bloomberg was the one who WANTED to build the stadium, and it wasn't going to be for the Yankees, it was going to be for the Jets.

Nothing can heal the wound that is the South Bronx, People would rather go to their neighborhood bars and restaurants or bars and restaurants on the other side of the river before a game than spend any more time than necessary in that shithole.

The New Stadium is gonna have a bunch of bars and restaurants and shops inside of it, but I don't see how its gonna help the area outside.

This man speaks the truth. Apparently most of the people posting in this thread are fraidy cat soxfags who have never been to the bronx. It is ghetto but there are alot of places worse in NYC so don't judge until you've been to it first hand, also the new stadium looks badd ass btw.

>>343057

You're the one that's wrong, Giuliani wanted to give us $1 Billion to build a stadium on the West Side (I think both baseball teams would play there), Bloomberg shot it down. You're thinking of the Olympic bid thing.

If any Stadium were to be in the real NY it should be baseball, not that dirty Alabama sport

Only East New York is worse than the South Bronx, though Yankee Stadium isn't in the heart of it
>> Anonymous
>>343072
No, you don't know what the hell you're talking about.

The Stadium was for the JETS, and it would also be used for the 2012 Olympics. Neither the Mets or the Yankees were ever going to play there. Both Pataki and Bloomberg wanted it.

Cablevision was the one that killed it, because they owned Madison Square Garden and didn't want any competition.

Does that look like a Yankees logo in the glass?
>> Anonymous
>>343078
You're right man but how often do you feel in danger at a Yankee game? Even though South Bronx is ghetto nobody tries to harass the fans going to the game and the surrounding areas are swamped with Yankee fans following the game the whole notion of being frightened because its in a poor neighborhood is a bit silly.

>>343096
It's true, there's a small radius around the Stadium where it feels like Disney World.
>> Anonymous
>>343096

It's silly if you've actually been there. If one hasn't been there they can make any stupid statement they want.

the trip to yankees stadium when i was young also came with the lesson about putting your cash in your sock because of all the pickpockets in the bronx
