Just got Shaun Rogers and Cory Williams, Steelers just lost Allen Faneca. Enjoy your sacks lol

Well, you have to hand it to brown's fans.

They are eternally optimistic.

>>21385
lol its odd dealing in disappointment for like 5 years, then suddenly get really close to a playoff appearance, and then that somehow even that gets fucked up. I think I speak for most Browns fans when I say "cautious optimism".

>Shaun Rogers
Inconsistent underachiever

>Cory Williams
Doesn't fit the 34 Defense

Don't you have to keep your team out of jail before they can win things?

You're thinking of the Bengals.

>>21382

Pfft...Roethelisberger was getting sacked WITH Faneca in the line-up. Once he learns to step-up and through the giant holes in the middle when the pressure comes from the outside, the number of hits he takes will drop dramatically.

So I am. Sorry. I still have no idea why Ohio has two teams.

lol pro bowl defensive linemen instead of draft picks. yeah, we're screwed. the improved D-Line play will lead to an improved pass rush and ability to make plays for the likes of wimbley, DQ, and leon williams. this, in turn, will lead to less pressure on our db's which sometimes got torched last year only because they were forced to cover all day (due to lack of pass rush) last year. trust me, these two additions will make our entire defense look better.

>Cory Williams

DT with 14 sacks in 2 years in the 4-3? seems like a perfect fit for a 3-4 DE to me.
>> Anonymous
>>21435
He is a little immature true, but he was a big reason the Lions started 6-2. If he is motivated he is one of the best in the league, and since Cleveland has a real shot at the division this year I think he will be. Cory Williams will be talked as one of the games best in 1-2 years.

The Browns suck. Steelers need better O-Line, Fanaca wasn't that great (nor any of them).
>> Anonymous
>>21435
they just picked up two pro-bowl defensive tackles. i thinks they might not play much 3-4. that, or they are counting on rodgers being hurt a ton. neither of them fit the 3-4. wish my raiders would have gotten those guys instead of making TOMMY FUCKING KELLY the highest paid dt in history. fuck.

lol that was very odd...facepalm for Al Davis

DE in the 34 don't have to be as athletic as DE in the 43. You could very well use a tackle in the end position.
>> Anonymous
just to clarify: rogers will play the tackle position and williams will play the end, with shaun smith probably playing the other end. williams and rogers will not be rotating at the same position. some of you need to lrn2/3-4

Pittsburghfag in the house.

Anyone think it'd be nice to see the Steelers sign ONE free agent, ever? I know its the Rooney way to not go after big name players and yadda yadda yadda, but maybe it will hit them one day that it might benefit you to get out there and sign someone.

The Steelers eternal Achilles heel is the secondary (or at least for the last 13 years). Regardless, they're still better than the Browns.

i think the browns will be like the saints of 2006 to 2007. great offense the first year, but then the second year, teams that play them will be ready, will stifle the offense and the browns D wont be able to win the game

If the Browns win the division I will an hero.

Corey Williams would be better off in a Tampa 2 playing UT. Even if he's playing DE in the 34 he's not very good at stopping the run or eating up blockers. Also, he's not a probowler seeing as he wasn't voted to the Pro Bowl. Heck, he wasn't even our 2nd best DT last season.

>>21592
The Browns have a really fucking tough schedule next season. However, the Steelers have an even tougher one, so I can still see the Browns winning the division.... And losing in the first round of the playoffs.

you might as well just do it now.

steelers have been aging and doing nothing about it. enjoy your 8-8.
