Still not batting his weight (which at this point is no surprise, hell he probably weighs more than his career avg)... still trying to pull outside breaking balls and striking out foolishly. .150? He could hit game winning homers the next few days and I still wouldn't regret ATL letting him go, even his fielding skills have diminished bigtime. It's just a shame, if only he would have cared and put forth the effort he coulda been one of the alltime greats...

Young athletes don't know how to handle success.

It's a shame.

That argument might have flown for him 10 years ago... not now. 31 yrs old, 12 yr vet. He's only become a lardass the last 3-4 yrs and ever since the year he lead in HR's all he wants to do is swing away and pull balls as hard as he can. He never would listen to tubby Terry Pendleton, the former Brave and NL batting champ who didn't exactly win with long balls... sometimes poking it the opposite direction gets the job done. TP tried and tried and tried to get Druw to listen to no avail, apparently the LA coaches aren't having much luck there either. There's still time for him to turn his career around, but right now it's spiraling fast. Ever since his "I'm a pull hitter, that's just how it is" type quote in the AJC a year or two ago his stubborness and refusal to keep himself in shape has led to his demise, at least in our city. Good luck, but good riddance.
