In some ways, I'm almost glad the Sox took it to Game 7. It got all the fan boys to be all like "LOL, IT'S GONNA BE LIKE 2004 AND 2007 ALL OVER AGAIN", and then they got properly stomped.

Although I would have equally have been pleased if the Rays got to celebrate the pennant in Fenway.

nah, it's better that it happened at home; it'll build the fan base and hopefully squeeze the Marlins out of Florida for good

As a Soxfag who lived in Florida for 15 years, trust me, there is no competition for baseball loyalty in Florida.

I know it sounds butthurt, but most Florida residents are bandwagon fans.

Is this any surprise? They just started being good this year.

it's hard to build a true fan base when the team keeps getting split up and sold off every time they get good

for St. Pete fags, We have no choice but to love the rays. Can't speak for the rest of the state, but I at least know that most of Central Florida isn't bandwagon.

Remember the retirees are from the North, so the are either Boston, NY, or other various, now epic FAIL teams.

Marlins fans aren't as much bandwagon fags (we do have our fair share, though, as I'm sure every team does) as everyone makes us out to be. We constantly rank among the top 5 in TV ratings and we have had high attendance marks, even when we weren't World Series caliber. The bad attendance at games is attributed to the awful baseball stadium (if you've been to a game, you'd know) and the fact that we don't retain our players (because of the shit stadium we have to lease every year).

As for Rays fans, I don't blame them for jumping on the bandwagon this year. I mean, if the Sox started out recently and were in last place for 9 of their first 10 seasons (that one exception was 4th place), I doubt there would be more than 5,000 fans.

It's bad when you ask someone about the Devil Rays and they don't know what team your talking about....

I lived in the Keys for my childhood. So during the summers I would go to Marlins games with my dad and his Mets friend whenever they played. Even though me and my dad were Sox fans.

I agree that the Stadium sucks for baseball, But (I believe it was 2007) when they played the Cubs they only had literally about 20 people in attendance. There is absolutely NO excuse for that. Though I do agree with you for the most part.
