Great dunk contest or greatest?
people didn't give Gerald Green enough credit, the birthday cake was awesome and dunking with just socks on hardwood is wayyyyy harder than it looks.
It was probably the wackiest ever. Gerald's cupcake dunk was nice, and that "shoeless between the legs" dunk is hard as fuck. Dwight was nuts though.
FLYING NIGGERS HOLY SHIT>>5250Seriously, I was surprised that he didn't win it with the cupcake dunk.
"you know soulja boy superman song YOUUU"can't a nigger know his music?
who was that nba legend that knock gerald's off the desk after he did the shoeless dunk? what an asshole.also the cupcake dunk was pretty nice, but howard's head was above the rim, shit was amazing.
I was more impressed with that little bounce off the backboard in midair that howard did.
>>5260Dwight raised the bar too high.
>>5287Yeah, and his other dunks weren't bad either.
they should of let him do that 12 foot dunk he wanted to do.
>>5265Darryl Dawkins. Known for shattering backboards. Yeah, that was awful. He's a judge, and he blatantly disrespected Gerald by doing that, embarrasing him on national TV and in the arena. He lost some respect in my book.
Mad props to Gerald, but Dwight just was amazing.Absolutely the GREATEST dunk contest
>>5265>>5314he should just kick his ass for doing. what a asshole. the shoeless dunk is awesome.
Rudy Gay was retarded. He didn't even use one of the youtube ideas.
it was a throw not a dunk
>>5398He's not retarded, he's gay....I'll be going now.
>>5425you made me giggled
moon first dunk was pretty impressive.
>>5412Yeah I know. The Superman dunk isn't impressive to me.
FUCK YEAH
The superman dunk technically wasn't a dunk since Howard never touched the rim, therefore Gerald should have won. He blew out the candle for christ sake
The Superman dunk was technically a glorified layup....or I guess layin since it came from above the rim.
>>5599and dunk with socks on, one slip and his career could be over and Darryl Dawkins is asshole for doing that.
One thing i don't get these dunk contest. I know who Howard is, who the fuck are the rest of the guys?
>>5601In all seriousness, nothing of value would be lost
Birthday Cake should have been a 50 and Green should have done the shoeless dunk in the first round. The Superman dunk itself wasn't impressive, but the way Dwight hyped it up is what makes it a great dunk. I was more impressed by the fact that he THREW the ball.
It was a dunk. Anytime you take a shot and the ball never gains any upward momentum between the time it leaves the shooters hand and the time it goes through the hoop, it is a dunk. Any other shot requires shooting the ball up. Any shot in which it goes exclusively down is a dunk.
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_exact_definition_of_a_slam_dunk%3FAn interesting bit, eh I know it's wiki but it might help clear up the confusion on what a slam dunk actually is.
>>5677I agree. There's no "touching the rim" prerequisite. If there was, the NBA would have ruled it a non-dunk, thus it wouldn't have counted for the contest.
Overrated garbage, he took off from inside the FT line and couldn't touch the rim? What a joke.
>>5727Christ give him a break, he's a center for gods sake.
TWO Words. Oakland. 2000.
>>5727to be fair, he did something harder than a slam dunk.
I rofl'd during the commentary on DH's Superman dunk."YOU WIN!!! YOU'RE IN, YOUNG FELLA! YOU WIN!!! SUPAMAAAAAANNNN!!! DUH DUH NAAAAAAA DUT DUH DUH DAAAAAAAAAAH!!!"XD
>>5727failfag he meant to throw it down
>>5727he also wasnt TRYING to touch the rim
OAKLAND 2000
>>6118It looked like he was to me, he just didn't make it.
>>6207if thats true then he improved pretty well
A dunk is when you make contact with the rim palm facing down. keyword CONTACT
>>6220Didnt Carter do one where he hung from the rim with his elbow? even if it was for a moment.
>>6322200 Dunk contest was the best. VC's performance was just so smooth and silky
