Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game.

>It was announced a movie is set to come out in 2011 based on the book. Actor Brad Pitt is attached to the project (presumably in the role of Billy Beane). Academy Award winning screenwriter Steve Zaillian has been signed to write the script, and David Frankel will direct.

Billy Beane has never been sexier, also this should make a pretty good movie. While the book was nothing special, it was still good.

Brad Pitt as Billy Beane....the fuck?

Uh... I was under the impression that Moneyball was not a novel, but a work of non-fiction.

Isn't this like doing a movie on my TV's owner's manual?

Lots of non-fiction books get made into movies. Band of Brothers, Capote, Dead Man Walking, Catch Me If You Can... Coal Miner's Daughter, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, Cinderella Man, Rocket Boys/October Sky, Friday Night Lights, etc.

The same blog did a lengthy post on why Moneyball would be a good movie.

The people who think it's a weird choice for a movie are the same people who don't really know what Moneyball is or means.

And he'll think Billy Beane directed it.

I guess that's why the A's are so good right now.
