Is it just me or he is overrated?

He's overhyped, like LeBron.

does he ever shoot the ball or he just dunk it all the time?

I sometimes think he wonders to himself.. "how i shot ball?"

but he produce great numbers.

Which will amount to what in the playoffs?
>> Anonymous
>>47624

shooting the ball is something he should avoid doing

but seriously though, if he ever develops a midrange jumper (maybe like Z or Kurt Thomas, to give some examples), he'll be impossible to guard. he still has time, but i doubt it ever happens.

How about learning how to play in the post first? Not saying Ewing teaching him jumpers isn't a bad thing, but Magic sorely lacks interior scorers, and aside from Hedo no one else dares ventures into the paint. Besides, they have a full roster of guys who can go stone cold on jumpers, the last thing they need is their center playing like a point guard.

A post game anywhere near duncan... multiple world champ, hall of famer, MVP.......

But I don't see it, shaq and duncan are the only great post players (garnett is okay, rasheed would be great if he wasn't insane)

Based on physical assets, he's probably the best at his position.

He just doesn't have a very high basketball I.Q. Duncan schooled him good in that last matchup they had against the spurs.

I can only hope my little Bynum can one day attain his greatness.

Considering the way he's working out now (watch the video, holy fuck) he'll come back better than he was to start the season, and with Kareem's help..

Dayum, negro. Dayum.

Howard is not overrated. He dunks all the time because he is a big man in the middle. That's his job.

Just think back, in his draft the peeps bashed the Magic for going with him over Okeafor. Imagine that now!!!

Shaq? A great post player? HAHAHA OH WOW
>> Anonymous
>>48591

I meant he WAS. Now his game is a crime.

Personally, I think Shaq is the most overrated player of all time. People look at his rings, and the public has never acknowledged how unmotivated he was to improve himself. He hired a FT coach, didn't even run FT routine for a whole season before he fired him. He stockpiled on body fat the longer he stayed in LA until he's obese to the point he doesn't have any post moves aside from a hook shot. He's a terrible rebounder despite his numbers. Most of all, he knows how to use a team to chase for titles before he jump ships. Kobe's a jackass, but at least he works hard, Shaq is a Derrick Coleman stuck in the perfect body during the era of a more physical style of ball.

ok obviously you are very biased

obviously, now he is old and fat. there is no getting around that. but in his prime (which basically started as soon as he entered the league), he was as dominant a force as there was. i don't even know how someone can be a "terrible rebounder despite his numbers". he averaged 10+ boards a game for the first 13 seasons of his career, wtf more do you want? he isn't playing against a bunch of midgets like wilt chamberlain, ok?
>> Anonymous
Overrated????????

He's been barely mentioned in the second half of the season. If he can develop a J it's a wrap.
>> Anonymous
oh look he all his points came from dunking again.
>> Anonymous
>>48671

Correction. He has been fat ever since they started their title run. I'm in LA, and I was rooting for the Pacers because of how disgusting the situation was for the Lakers. Many pointed out Kobe as the culprit of their downfall, but very few ever mentioned Shaq to be at fault.
If you just look at numbers, then it looks like he's a good rebounder, if you actually watch any of his game, his rebounding skills such as timing, position, and handles are average at best.
