Sup as/sp/irates.

A friend of mine is a hockey fan, specifically Washington. Now, I'm not opposed to hockey, being a casual fan myself, but nonetheless I have been tasked with figuring out a way to make him no longer like hockey. But he's already a Capitols fan and I'm not sure what I could do to him that would be worse than what he's already done to himself.

Any suggestions as to how one might go about turning love for a sport into hatred?

well if hes a crapsfag hes a bandwagoner, which would mean hes already dead on the inside. not much you can do beyond that.

He grew up in Fredericksburg, Virginia, which is about 50 miles from DC. Unfortunately, he's probably less dead inside than usual since his team actually has a winning record this year.

Come on, /sp/, there must be good ways to crush the spirits of sports fans that I'm overlooking.

Introduce him to my favorite team, if he doesn't immediately become blown away by the years of failure, he will drown in his own tears of the saddest story ever told...

If he stuck with the team through the post-Bondra/pre-lockout years, then let him be. He deserves it.

Why the hell do you want him to not like hockey?

I like hockey, and I actually played in high school (leading to subsequent driveway hockey ass-whoopings, which will be worsened if I ever buy a lefty stick instead of the right-handed crap he's got).

Also, I do enjoy soccer, but that's not the point.
I just enjoy the misery of others more.

Misery of others? Go to a Thrashers game.
