MVP, Golden Glove, Silver Slugger...

I dunno, he is good but did he really deserve all the awards?

Yes, he was the best player in the AL.

i'd never even heard of him until a few days ago

I'm a Soxfag and even I was kinda like "uhhh" when they named him the MVP. He was fantastic, and was definitely OUR MVP but was he THE BEST?

Think of this, how many other players got both Silver slugger and Gold glove?
Mauer and Sizemore.

Joe Mauer:
BA OBP SLG OPS
328 .413 .451 .864
FP RFg RF9
.997 6.35 6.61

Dustin Pedroia
BA OBP SLG OPS
.326 .376 .493 .869
FP
.992

Mauer and Pedroia are virtually the same when it came to hitting or fielding (not counting RBIs or Hits due to difference position in batting order), but I think Mauer was a lot more of value to his team than Pedroia is to the Red Sox.

Not trying to make a flame war or anything but definitely going to have to disagree on that one. He made some fucking amazing defensive plays. Of course I'm a homer so I can't speak for the rest of the league and am not sure if he was the BEST but I know he'd definitely be in the discussion regardless.

As for MVP of the league.. yeah not sure about that one. He did something amazing for our team no doubt but like I said, I may not know the rest of the league like an expert but it's hard to imagine nobody did better. I can agree with what somebody else here said yesterday as a Bawwwstonfag, that it seems like if Morneau was a Yankee or Red Sox player, he'd be on his 2nd MVP.

No, no, yes (but only because Ian Kinsler got hurt)
