Second. Whoever wins Rays/Red Sox will win the WS.

The rays are hot. They can take down the sox or the angels and then destroy whatever weak NL team goes to the series.

They won't beat the Sox.

They just beat the sox retard.

It seems like teams don't like to beat the gritty-gutsy-veteran Red Sox. They'll choke all over themselves, like the Yankees and every team that has faced them in the post season. Teams only play hard against the Yankees. Because the Red Sox pay their players minimum wage and give them no benefits.

I love how red sox fans act like they have been this awesome team for ever. You couldnt win shit until a few years ago. The rays have been building this team for years with first round draft picks recieved by ten years of shitty ownership and terrible baseball. Now they are young, talented and hungry. Sox are fucked, if they can even beat the angels.

Why did you quote something that you made no reference too in your post?

You must be retarded.

I got a fever, and the only prescription, is more cowbell.

Bring on the Evil Empire Red Sox, welcome to the Trop.

I don't think trading off all your good players for the last 10 years counts as building a team. I'm not saying that the Rays are a "bad" team (they usually are shit), but this year is a fluke. You can't deny that.
>> Anonymous
>>387574
They signed most of their players to long contracts. We'll see if it is a fluke or not.
>> Anonymous
>>387574

Because those "good" players helped them in the last 10 years, right?
>> Anonymous
Sox will crush them. Nobody wants to beat them.

Victor Zambrano <-> Scott Kazmir
Joey Gathright <-> J.P. Howell
Ty Wigginton <-> Dan Wheeler
Aubrey Huff <-> Ben Zobrist
Seth McClung <-> Grant Balfour
Delmon Young <-> Matt Garza
Mark Hendrickson <-> Dioner Navarro

I think that pretty much defines building a team.

Those "good" players didnt exist in the last ten years, they have been building this team in the minors for several years now and have signed most of the team to long term contracts. They will be even better next year, when David Price is a starting pitcher and we get a closer that isnt 55 years old. This year is certainly not a fluke.

Delmon Young <-> Matt Garza

You sir forgot Jason Bartlett, the glue of that fantastic infield.

which good players are these they we have traded off? Zambrano? Elijah Dukes? Shawn Camp?

Not the guy you are posting to, and as an impartial poster, he has a point dude.
>> Anonymous
>>387420

So those guys we brought up like Lester, Pedroia, Masterson, Lowrie, Delcarmen, Youk and Pap...

And the guys we got through trades, like Beckett, Bay and Lowell...

And the Free Agent signings of Drew and DiceK...

Nope, that's not us building a team or anything either. Don't worry.

Not arguing his point, I'm just saying he's a butthurt Yankees fan.

Or maybe we're just trying to enjoy the success we've been longing for? Not every team has enough money to buy a great team every decade.

Boom, Bitch!

I never said the sox didnt build that team the right way. They built the team the same way the rays did and I used to admire them. Until you won a couple of world series and all the sox fans started acting like the red sox have been some dynasty baseball team for hundreds of years.

Thats exactly what the Red Sox did this decade, jackass.

>sox fans started acting like the red sox have been some dynasty baseball team for hundreds of years.

It is because they secretly have wanted to be Yankee fans.

Pleased that Yankees are watching the post season in their living rooms.
