This is now the last thread about the spain vs usa game. Spain, you gave us a good game. I'd like to extend the olive branch to you and invite you to play in our league. Rudy, Pau, Marc, Juan, and Jose; come on down.

But, seriously. You Eurofags might be alright after all. Why do we even fight, again?

THIS IS NOW A SLAMBALL THREAD.

Oh I'm sure Coach K woulda loved to have Rubio at Duke... the man hasn't had a decent PG since fucking Jayson Williams in like 2000 or thereabouts...

anyone else think this would've been a blowout without kryzyzychcehky? his team was completely out of control for the last ten minutes except for kobe, who somehow managed to come up with the ball half the time and score. despite a complete breakdown in offensive and defensive structure, no time out was called. both teams went completely wild, kobe maintained some semblance of control and hit some great shots, and the u.s. took the lead. i guess coach k was saving that crucial time out for when they were leading by over ten points with 26 seconds left. good strategy.

I was thinking the same thing. We need Byron Scott in 2012, or at least somebody better that Coach Kjgrtfszygftrcdsdcx.

I thought he sucked at times too. I'm sure the man has forgotten more about the game than I'll ever know, but why did we not use Redd more when teams like Australia were sitting back in zone and we were struggling with it? Granted, it all worked out fine in the end thanks for the renewed emphasis on DEFENSE for a change, but that wasn't there tonight either and as such, where the fuck was Tayshaun?!
Coach K = B- grade overall... 82/100
Wade County = 100/100
Rest of Team USA = 96/100

Deron Williams: 70/100

kobe was just as out of control, what game were you watching. It was fucking WADE country. Kobe just was out of control and good at the same time. So he got lucky.

overall 93/100
Good D in points, sometime just a damn let up in d. The O and D came and went, until Wade came in, and started making shit happen.

Free throw shooting overall was terrible, something that needs to be addressed next world championships. Also 3 point shooting, the only person that seemed to be making 3's consistantly was Wade, Melo, and Redd, and James just needed to stop jacking up 3's at all, except in a few game

Whole tournament:
Dwade - 99/100
LBJ 90/100
Kobe 85/100
Bosh 84/100
etc

I think CP3 was a huge factor in regaining the momentum in the second quarter, without his three solid plays in a row, it could have easily gone to a spanish lead.

Kobe's defense was crucial. Without him in there, Spain's guards were penetrating more than Peter North. Kidd is solid, but he's not as fast. I honestly would like to see Paul start. Paul's solid, but as a PG needs moar leadership. WTF was 'Melo doing? Good thing he hurt his hand, or he might've been in the game still. Michael Redd is a crap defender. He doesn't go in because USA's midnset is defense first. Overall team could be better with Marion instead of Redd, or if god forbid, Ron Artest would wise up. WTF is up with the American centers though? They seriously need to step up their game/freethrows. Bosh is alright. He just needs to eat more sammiches.

Thanks very much to Spain for an awesome game. You gave me someone to yell at for a couple of hours.

>American center
Coach K didn't have much to choose from. The last two 5 position players he had were Chandler and Howard. But seeing that he had a couple forwards that could also play center, I'm guessing he weighed leaned towards a roster that could play under his system.

His D was awful, the offense looked shitty with him at the point. He had good shooting though ill give you that.

>>293320
Not blaming coach K. I'd take those two guys too. I'm just realizing the lack of dominant centers among american athletes. It's like our centers are being left behind in the international game.
