NFL MID-SEASON PLAYOFF PREDICTION THREAD Anonymous
The NFL season is half over. If the second half of the season is a mirror image of the first half, how the teams would finish from each conference is listed in the handy chart below.

So, what do you think will change between now and the playoffs? Who makes it, and who does not?

I say 1) the Bucs win the South and the Panthers get a wild card, 2) the Redskins fall apart and the Eagles get the last NFC wild card, 3) the Patriots win the AFC East, 4) the Chargers win the West, 5) the Jets collapse and the Bills and Broncos get the AFC wild card, and 6) uh, the Titans don’t finish 16-0.

NFC Division Winners;
Giants (14-2)
Panthers (12-4)
Bears (10-6)
Cardinals (10-6)

NFC Wild Cards;
Redskins (12-4)
Bucs (11-5)

Good thread until that either Jest or Bills are winning the division.

are you blind?

You're so wrong on the Bears. Now that Sexy Rexy is starting for a few games at least, I predict the Bears to go 7-9. Of course, the could still win the NFC North since everyone else sucks.

OP, the Dolphins are 2-1 in the division right now, beating the 2 obviously better teams thus far. Look at Miami's remaining games. They have the easiest schedule left in the NFL with games against the Seahawks, Raiders, Rams, Chiefs, and 49ers. I don't think it's so much of a stretch to see the Dolphins winning the AFC east with a solid finish in those easy games and 1 or 2 more divisional wins.

but the fins cant beat teams with sub .500 records

eagles win the superbowl after a series of fluke wins against better teams

I love the dolpinfags getting excited about being .500. The Jest still beat you and are also 2-1 in the division also Favre is going to spend the rest of the season unleashing the dragon on opponents. also as a jestfag I've got a PROTIP: Chad can't win a big game, he never has.

What people say about any player who hasn't yet won a title.

Chad has won plenty of big games. YOU ARE NOT A JET FAN. If Herm Edwards were not our coach we at least would have made the AFC title game in 04. Or dare I say SB. Chad has the most post season wins of any Jet qb, and probably wins in general. Jeezzzzus

The Jets have made the playoffs 12 times in their sorry-ass history. Pennington is responsible for 1/3 of those.

Without him (and Parcells, who drafted him), the Jets would have been out of the playoffs every one of those years.

The Dolphins would be 2-6 without Pennington.

Its true, Ronnie Brown is great, but Pennington is the core of that team. If, and I am going to say IF because for some reason we can't beat teams with records below .500, we take the AFC East a Dolphins player (Brown or Pennington) had better win MVP.

Pats are going to win. They have a pretty easy schedule down the stretch and are a better team then the others in the division. They lost there starting QB and RB and are 5-3. 18-1 all ya want, but they are only getting better as a team. Mayo is going to be a beast.
>>450348
The Phins used their trick early. They might have been better off being less sucsessful with the Wildcat stuff. Now every team that has a draw style back that can throw or fast QB that take off has that package in there. Which means that every team practices and prepares agaisnt it. It was a real good boon for the Phins, but it won't get them another win on it's own like a couple of the past games. Love Pennington there though.

Did you just say you wanted Herm Edwards. Herm might be the worst coach in football. And I say "might" very loosely. Never have I seen someone have worse clock management and playcalling. He's the king of "They think I'm going to run, so I'm going to pass, but they would think of that, therefore I'm going to run a QB draw on 3rd and 9 cause they would never see it coming"

He didn't say he wanted Herm, he said that IF NOT FOR HERM the Jets could have gone deeper into the playoffs.

The Patriots could easily win that division (I don't trust the Jets and the Bills are starting to look like the same old Bills), but I don't see them getting beyond the second round

So he was. I miss read that and quickly was filled with rage at the thought that anyone could like Herm.

This times like a million. As a Dolfan I'm so excited about this shit, I'm happy we got out even of the tough half of our schedule. I don't know how far we could possibly even go into the playoffs, but having such a turnaround season gives me such a hard on.

>>451616
The Dolphins beat the broncos while going NEGATIVE with their wildcat formation I believe. Teams are ready and prepared for it, but our team is getting their shit together in the traditional ways. We have Pennington near the top of completion percentages, Joey Porter leading the league in sacks, and the double back combo of Ronnie and Ricky. That's a pretty damn winning formula, and we executed well in the last two games against some (arguably) top afc teams. I like our chances in a wide open division, and we're only a game behind with a 2-1 division record. Those two last minute losses even makes me more convinced in our ability to at least compete this year.
