fiery leader.

do we see the 49ers make a playoff run with Singletary's menacing presence?

with the talent the team has,i can certainly see running the last 9 with only a loss or two and taking the division or maybe squeezing in as a wildcard with the the cowboys and skins looking a little less threatening than originally thought.

i could see 10-6 nabbing a wildcard slot, and 10-6 or 9-7 taking the west if the cardinals cant keep up what theyre doing. i really dont see the rams doing better than 8-8, and the seahawks are looking pretty pathetic right now.

also. i didnt agree with giving the starting spot to O'Sullivan in the first place, but should Shaun Hill get his chance if they lose this week or week 10?

Ninerfag here:

You're fucking delusional if you think this team can go 10-6. Yes, they've been under-performing, but look at that schedule. If we finish at 8-8, it will be a small miracle, and Singletary will win NFC Coach of the Year.

IF we are going to get a turn-around, it will have to start with our vaunted 'seasoned' secondary. No way should this defense be giving up 30 points per game.

Now that the offense is integrating a healthy Josh Morgan and the versatile Rossum into the receiving core, the offensive numbers shouldn't suffer once Gore inevitably ACL's out.

What about the schedule?
Dallas, Buffalo, Washington and Arizona.

other than that, its Seattle, the Jets, Miami, and the Rams twice.

if they beat the Seahawks again this week, which I believe there's a good chance of, then beat Arizona, who looks good but has a history of playing screwy against the 49ers, then that kind of momentum could easily carry them past the Rams in week 11. they would then be sitting at 5-5 going into Dallas. And as everyone is no doubt aware, Dallas is having trouble, and if they don't clean that trouble up quick, thats a winnable game for sure.

If they can build up the momentum over the next two or three games, taking that to Dallas and Buffalo should produce good results.

after that, its the Jets, the Dolphins, the Rams and then Washington in week 17. Again, all winnable games if Singletary imposes the leadership skills he demonstrated as a player.

Its not as bad as you make it out to be.

I'll agree we have a 'chance' at winning most of those games. However, we do not win 8 of them.

Dallas will have Romo back, Washington is a big L, Brett always destroys the niners at the 'stick, and Arizona already raped us once at our yard.

You make a good argument though. Outside of Washington, they are all 'winnable' games. And even the 'Skins, if they're resting starters for the playoffs...

Winnable is the key word.

IF O'Sullivan keeps his mistakes to a minimum, the offense is more than capable of putting big numbers up on all of these teams, and the defense has proven its ability to keep the team in the game till late.

I think some of it comes down to how Singletary deals with Martz. They need to run the ball more any way you look at it, and Singletary might need to lay down some law in order to make sure that happens.

Just looking at the San Francisco secondary (the highest paid secondary in THE HISTORY OF THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE oh by the way) you have Nate Clements (the highest paid cornerback in the HISTORY OF THE LEAGUE) -shockingly mediocre, Mark Roman (lol, the Packers cut him from our practice squad) Walt Harris (lol how old is he?) and Michael Lewis, who has only 1 sack and no INTs this year.

lol San Francisco

i predict a 7-9 season.

then martz leaves for a HC spot at some shitbrick team. Possibly Texans?

norv gets fired from SD and comes back to offensive coach for us

Hey Ninerfags, I would just like to point out that your franchise is like the cancer of the national football league. Mike McCarthy was YOUR offensive coordinator in 2006 and finished DEAD FUCKING LAST in the NFL in total offense that season. Two years later he's the HEAD COACH in the NFC Championship Game.

Martz to the Raiders. Remember where you heard it first.

nah, martz wont get another head coaching spot i dont think.

and theres no way the chargers will fire turner. even if the broncos do somehow beat them out for the division crown, the chargers will likely post a .500 or better record, and no way is he going to get fired with that.

Lewis isnt exactly a sack machine, and hes fucking SAFETY on a defense that doesnt have a complex blitz scheme.

also, up until new orleans, the niners pass D was in the top 10. only after facing two of the top 5 offenses in the league did they drop.

and again. underachievement.
