Taking every fucking series to a game 7 cause your "superstars" suck ass on the road and are all 80 years old is the reason the Celtics will fail.

Plus they are from Boston. That equals instant fail.

Doc should just let the big three loose. WHY WOULD YOU SACRIFICE RAY ALLEN'S GAME BUT STILL MAKE PLAYS FOR POSEY?
>> Anonymous
Allen doesn't even seems like he cares. I think it's because his father almost got clipped.

He wasn't even watching the fourth quarter from the bench, he was just staring into space. That whole family member almost being murdered thing probably gets to you.

Don't worry, the pistons will send them into a panic when they win one of the first two games at the garden.

No big man is ever clutch in the same way a guard is. Duncan hit 2 memorable clutch shots in his career, and took a lot more than Garnett did. I'd say that Garnett can be pretty clutch if Boston would get the ball to him more consistently, instead of going into hot-potato offense in the 4th quarter.

Also, the reason they look lost closing out games on the road is that they've never been in this position before. Each of them for their first time is playing with 2 other perennial allstars in the playoffs on team that has championship aspirations. They are basically rookies in this situation (as contrasted with the San Antonio Spurs, who never get flustered even when shots aren't falling, and who's offense seamlessly transitions from Duncan's post-ups to Tony's drives to Manu's flopping). None of them are sure what to do when the other team is making a 9-0 run at home with the crowd going wild, because they don't know whether to act individually or play as a team in this situation. They're all waiting for the other guy to step up.

I hate coaches that used to be point guards. They usually are too controlling over guard play and tend to put too much responsibility in their own point guards.

That's different though, because you don't count on Horry making plays down the stretch; he just catches and shoots.
Also, he's less clutch than you think. he himself admitted that the reason why he takes so many threes in the late stages of the game is because he won't be blamed for losing the game. think about it. horry is a role player. if his shots don't go in and his team loses, he never gets the blame, because you don't expect him to win for you. but if his shots fall, then he's a hero. he basically gets all the upside of taking clutch shots with none of the blame.

Case in point: 2003 NBA playoffs. Lakers lost to the spurs, and most of the blame was on Kobe and Shaq (either being unclutch or failing to make the right plays), and people conveniently forgot about Horry's 2/38 3pt shooting in the playoffs, because it doesn't fit with their idea of who Horry is as a veteran player. in 12 games, Horry averaged 31 minutes a game, averaged about 6pts 6rb, shot 30% from the field.

even with the spurs, he continues to take bad threes (which are wildly celebrated when they go in, quickly forgotten when they don't), play boneheaded defense, and lingers around the court.

thank you for remember horry's terrible shooting in that year cause i remember it too and havent seen anyone else mention it since then.

Also don't forget game 5 in San Antonio, with the series tied up that year Horry missed what would have been the game winner.

they don't even need Horry to make clutch threes anyway

That's what they have Barry for

Ray Allen's unselfishness and small ego, despite being great characteristics for a human being(and I heard Ray Allen is a really nice guy), are terrible for someone who has the talent to be a Superstar.

Also, Allen really needs to get out of the "Oh, I'm not on a crappy team and I have two Superstars with me, so I don't have to be alpha-male" mindset.
