>The Yankees apparently want to sign two free agent starters out of C.C. Sabathia, A.J. Burnett, and Derek Lowe.

Soon-to-be noodle arms, suckass 1 and suckass 2?

Seems like perfect fits for the Yankees.

I see the Yankees will try to buy more Championships.

where is this coming from, your ass? if cashman is running this team then they won't give up a big name prospect but might try to do some buttrape trade like they've done in the base with Nady and Abreu.

I think Burnett would pitch better in New York than Sabathia.

>Some baseball people say the crashing U.S. economy could give the Yankees an even greater advantage in this free-agent season. Some other teams may be affected by baseball's debt rule that limits spending for teams with significant debt, and some owners may be affected by plummeting stock prices and hurting businesses. Meanwhile, the Yankees' revenues are expected to jump by a few hundred million from an already sport-high $400 million.

That made me laugh

Since when do you have to give up good prospects to sign a free agent?

If the Yankees sign D. Lowe it will only show how far they have droped. Why not sign nomar too, and other former Red Sox from five years ago. I hear Jose Offerman is getting out of jail soon. Why not replace Robbie Cano with him.

It's not the Yankees fault if the Red Sox keep trading away good players.

I see them signing ONE of the three, not two of them.

Wang
Burnett/Sabathia/Lowe
Mussina
Chamberlain
Hughes

It's a pretty good rotation

Yankees should sign D. Lowe, Manny, and Nomar to bring the winning ways of the DODGERS to Yankees Stadium.
>> Anonymous
wang is not a number one.

Chamberlin
Free Agent
Mussina
Wang
Hughes

Decent rotation. Good if mussina is good next year, bad if he isn't and hughes doesn't figure it out.

Wang number 4? Chamberlin Number one over Moose and Wang? Go back to bed kid.

Joba isn't number one either. He can be someday, but he might not even start in the rotation this year.
>> Anonymous
Joba should start. Put him on the back end of the rotation, baby him with 5 innings starts for a couple months if you have to. But he should start until he proves that he can't, or his body can't handle starting. Yankees aren't pitch rich enough to waste Joba in middle relief or even as 8th inning set up man. Joba pitching as the 4th or 5th man in the rotation is worth a whole lot more than a Joba who can only pitch two or three innings per week.

Cashman has stated that Joba will start from the beginning of next season.

The Yankees #1 priority will be Manny Ramirez. Repeat of the johny damon signing only twice as painful for Boston, and he will actually produce unlike damon.

The Yankees should just buy a Japanese team in the NPB, and then send all the good Japanese players to the Yankees, and send Melky Cabera and Robinson Cano to fucking Japan to die over there.

Can they send Julio Lugo over there too?

Damon had one of his best offensive years with the Yankees after signing with them

Manny is going to turn 37. No thanks.
