Curt Schilling - Hall of Fame Pitcher? Anonymous
ESPN started the debate today...if Schilling's career is indeed over, should he get into that Hall of Fame.

I FUCKING HATE Sawxfags, but I say yes. His numbers are secondary, he had some fucking legendary post-season performances. I'd go as far to say he was one of the best playoff pitchers ever.

If you ask me, it's a yes.

FUCK YOU BOSTON

his playoff numbers are incredible

best postseason record in history, and his numbers certainly aren't bad. should be first ballot.

no, he never dominated (besides post season play) if he gets in, scrubs like Mussina and Smoltz are in too

If there was a post-season HoF, then yes, he's in first ballot..

I think he will get in on his 5th or 6th year of eligibility.. Nothing about his career (other than his post-season numbers) really scream Hall of Famer to me..

He has the second best strikeout to walk ratio of any pitcher. Ever.

Agreed, and I'm a Bostonfag.

>Scrubs
>Smoltz

Get the fuck out.
Also yes, I figure Schilling will probably get in. Better not be a first ballot HOF though.

I see him getting in during his fifth year of eligibility.

The regular season stats will hold him back for a few years.

he was very vocal about his support for bush. he should shove a shotgun in his mouth to get himself to finally stop talking.

Did you just say John Smoltz is a scrub? Smoltz is far AHEAD of Schilling. He's a LOCK for the hall of fame.

I say no. His numbers are not good enough. Fewer than 250 wins. The hall of fame is reserved for the truly elite in the game.

Hitters minimum:
3000 hits and/or 500 hrs

Starting pitchers minimum:
Close to 300 wins and/or 3000 strike outs.

God here, with my addition to a previous comment by Metsfag:

I believe you mean SHOULD BE reserved for the best in the game. It obviously isn't, looking at some of the shitty players being in it.

Now Schilling is someone who I wouldn't mind in the HOF, but I really wouldn't give a shit if the HOF pulled decided to create a new Buck O'Neil, and never vote him in. (Note: Buck should be in the HOF, no doubt about it. It's just publicity-wise he would be a new Buck)

Also, on the topic of the Hall Of Fame, Clemens, Bonds and Palmeroid should not be voted in; any voter who votes for them should be b& from voting ever again. Same goes for Sosa and McGwire, though I may give people who vote for them a free pass, due to never being caught or seen doing steroids by some one not named "Jose Cansaycomeonbuymybookorimbroke-o" Wait, I take that back, Sosa used corked bats, and McGwire is a shitty liar; they are all perma b&.

Sincerely,
God.
