so am i reading this page right? http://www.nsawins.com/nba-futures-betting-odds.shtml

are the lakers actually the favorite to win the western conference now? pau > shaq lol.
>> Anonymous
yeah, with the talent the team has now they look hard to beat. Particularly because of phil jackson's system.
>> Anonymous
how is bynum and pau gasol going to work together?
>> Anonymous
I wonder how many championships VC'll get if was in the triangle system....
>> Anonymous
>>5886
Bynum will be in the low post, gasol will play the top of the box in the triangle. That's if they're on the floor at the same time, which will be the case if they play phoenix or san antonio.

Like I said in the other thread, that's some dodgy offshore bookie that's probably running out of the back of a van in the Caymans. I wouldn't trust anything on that site.

Here, have some reputable info:

http://www.vegasinsider.com/nba/odds/futures/

7/2 isn't bad, but it's not the 3/1 that Phoenix and Dallas are getting.

I'm sorry, Phoenix and San Antonio. Please excuse me while I shoot myself in the head.
>> Anonymous
>>5898
didnt realize how much variation would there would be. 7/2 is still good though, im a laker fan so i still say theyre gonna win it :)

Lakers fan here, and I'd put them 3rd or 4th best in the West. Sure we have great talent, but everyone is just so injured right now.

Why does everybody keep forgetting San Antonio and Groundhog Day?
>> Anonymous
>>5953

Because San Antonio just as banged up as the Lakers are. Look for Utah to make it out of the west this year. They're healthy and that smoking hot.

Hey now. Don't count Denver out yet. They're pretty damned good and have some of the best players in the conferance. (2 Nuggets in the ASG, anyone?)
>> Anonymous
>>5977

the problem with Denver is that they're going to fight for the 7 and 8th spot with the rockets, Warriors, and the Trail Blazers. They might not even make the playoffs even if they win 50 games which is crazy.
>> Anonymous
>>5995
Probelm with Denver is when it's time for the playoffs, the one of the ASs will get locked down while the other will carry the burden. The team will then get a false sense of security and end up losing in the first round.
>> UZ !kHzD4It5Tc
Well I never said Denver would go very far, but I'm sure they WILL make the playoffs at the very least. Besides, Denver Fans are totally used to losing in the first round.

ooo please. now that that fag is a laker hes supposed to be one of the top forwards in the league? bullshit, hes a vlade divac clone, if that.
>> Anonymous
>>6052
don't let the Spaniards hear you say that.
>> Red Machine D !h1LZxECEVA
>>6052

He will never come close to Vlade Divac.
>> Anonymous
>>6076

Yeah, Vlade Divac's flopping skills were top notch.
>> Anonymous
>>6052
divac's best season was 16 ppg, 10.4 rebounds per game. his career averages were 11.8 points with 8.2 rpg and a respectable 3.1 assists per game.

gasol has career averages of 18.9 ppg, 8.6 rebounds, and also 3.1 assists per game. he has ALWAYS averaged over 17.6 points per game, and over 7.7 rebounds per game, in all of his seasons, unlike the inconsistent divac.

gasol is a big pickup and a solid player.
>> Red Machine D !h1LZxECEVA
>>6147

Now watch him have to share with the biggest ballhog not named Stephon Marbury.

>>6147
I think you need to sit at the end of the bench now son.

>>6151
it's working out quite well so far. 73 point half tonight.
>> Red Machine D !h1LZxECEVA
>>6156

Agreed, but does he even know why?
>> Anonymous
>>6163
Maybe he'll see it for himself in the playoffs.
>> Anonymous
>>6164
maybe.
>> Anonymous
vlade flops and doesnt afraid of anything
>> Red Machine D !h1LZxECEVA
>>6164

Doubt it.

Shaquille or Gasol: that is the question. We will find out in tonight's game. My guess is Shaq does some shaq-fu diving into the seats and breaks his leg, and the jazz beat the magic in a miracle finals.
>> Red Machine D !h1LZxECEVA
>>6195

He's a roleplayer now on a team with too much talent already. He brings in something they didn't have before and he's shown in practice that his hip has made a "miraculous recovery" and he can keep up with the Suns break. sure, he'll only play about 20-25 minutes, but those 20-25 minutes will be significant.
>> Anonymous
>>6203
i think trading marion for him was a pretty big blunder, shaq is not a long-term investment, even if he is a good "role player" for a season or two.
>> Red Machine D !h1LZxECEVA
>>6223

He was leaving Phoenix anyways at the end of the season. He wanted to be the star, not the man between a godly Steve Nash and the Brazilian Blur.
>> Anonymous
>>6229
even so, they couldve gotten someone with more long term value than shaq in exchange for marion's talent. the trade just doesnt sit right with me, 5 years down the road i think theyll regret it.
