hey /sp/

I'm only a casual hockey fan, and I've never heard an answer for this. Why do NHL teams fire their coaches so early in a season? It happens in the NBA to some extent, but it seems very prevalent in the NHL. In MLB or the NFL, teams try to avoid making changes in the season as much as they can; whenever they do make changes, their season is pretty much already in the toilet.

the nhl is so chaotic and lacking in strategy, that it really doesnt matter if they have a coaching base. its more of a ceremonial gig nowadays.

The NFL only has 16 games because fat niggers are lazy, so by the time the GM figures that the coach is fucking up the seasons already half over, and Baseball teams change their coaches all the time, but there are a million per team so you wouldn't know unless you were a huge geek.

Baseball teams almost never fire a coach if the manager isn't also fired

the rest of what you said is exactly what the OP said, you dumb faggot

OP asked why the NHL teams will fire a coach after a few weeks like Barry Melrose was

Tampa Bay is a horrible example to use. They run their organization as if fans were running it. Most credible NHL teams would never fire their coach 16 games into a season. Melrose was a gimmick hire anyways.
