I need a new skateboard. Can you reccomend me a new one. Preferribly for a Beginner. Mine is 4 years Old. I have been skating for 2 years and stopped. I really would like to get back into skating but my element deck bearing and trucks are mass fucked up! (Its a 2001 with Lucky on Bottom) No Element though

They´re basicly all the same.. the board is just a tool for your feet to manipulate. So just get one that has cool grapics, like hook-ups!

Not true, different companies use different resins, shapes, and plies. The shape and ply are really what you should be looking for. If you want more pop, get a deck with more ply (8-9ply). A ply is a layer of wood, the more that's there, the more pop you get and the heavier your board will be. Personally I love Flip, it's not for everyone though, try an Enjoi or an AWS (AWS are longer, so if you're a taller guy then go for it, otherwise you might find it difficult to control)

As for trucks, I'd go Royals or Grind-Kings. I've got Phantom II's. Granted my phantoms are nice, they're also heavy. I miss my old Grind-King G-5's they were light and durable, great for grinding too. And I can't really say anything about Royal from experience, I've just heard good things.

For bearings, I'd go Bone's Reds or Bone's Swiss, maybe some Flip HKD Abec 7's

The board doesn't make the skater though, but once you find the set up you feel most comfortable with, it's all practice from there.

Good luck my fellow Skatefag!

I agree with boards being diffrent. I notice the layer count between my Blind and my Think boards. Also, my Think has a un-symmentrical build. The kick is arched higher for better pop.
