The Cowboys have a historic rivalry with each of the other NFC East teams.

>>463652
Because Cincinnati is less than three hours from Pittsburgh, they are in-state rivals with Cleveland, and the Ravens are rivals of the Browns. Indianapolis has no connection to those teams, thus they are the Rams of the AFC.

Yes, why on earth would you want the Cowboys to play their most hated rivals the Redskins, Eagles, and Giants twice a year? Why would you want the Dolphins to play the Jets, Bills, and Patriots all the time?

OP grow the fuck up.

lol @ an Eastern Conference team playing for the Western Conference Championship two seasons in a row now.

the cowboys are in the NFC east because of the cowboys-redskins rivalry in the 70's. it was originally supposed to be temporary but that rivalry kept them in the east. now that there are big cowboys rivalries with each team in the east the NFL won't move them out.
>> Anonymous

Because they were in the NFC West as the LA Rams and they never bothered to change their division.

This is the same question.
The Rams would be East and the Cowboys would be West, except the NFL couldn't bear to part with all the standard rivalries that exist under the current NFC East alignment. Therefore, the Rams got the shaft and spend half the season playing 3 PM games on the West Coast.

why is Fresno so far north?, that's like where Modesto is
>> Anonymous
I completly fucking agree OP.

There are a bunch of teams that could go in the east from the south to switch shit around. I think the best fit would be Tampa.

The FINS are in the East, so why the fuck not the Bucs?

Hi Guys, I fixed it for you! (Teams labeled AFC/NFC based on how many teams are originally from that conference, need based in case of ties)
AFC:
AFC East- Buffalo Bills, New England 18-1, New York Giants, New York Jest
AFC Central- Detroit Lions, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cincinnati Bengals
AFC South- Atlanta Falcons, Miami Dolphins, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
AFC Westcoast- San Diego Chargers, Seattle Seahawks, Oakland Raiders, San Francisco 49ers
NFC:
NFC East- Philadelphia Eagles, Baltimore Ravens, Washington Redskins, Carolina Panthers
NFC Central- Kansas City Chiefs, St. Louis Rams, Tennessee Titans, New Orleans Saints
NFC North- Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears, Indianapolis Colts
NFC Midwest- Arizona Cardinals, Denver Broncos, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans
>> Anonymous
>>463865
I like it!

Especially since the Lions would be in the same division as my Browns and would be two easy wins a year.
>> Anonymous
>>463882
the current division alignment is much better

who gives a fuck about geography

traditional rivalries are a much better way to determine divisions
>> Anonymous
>>463865
make AFC central AFC north, and It would be a better NFL
>> Anonymous
>>463865
Just give the Steelers 6 wins to start the season why don't you?
>> Anonymous
>>463887
Looking at it... most of the notable rivalries are doing alright... Steelers and Browns are still together, along with Jest and Patriots, Vikings and Green Bay. The NFC East Rivalries are the only ones that really get fucked with a geographical realignment.

And Hell... I'm sure the Cowboys/Texans and Rams/Chiefs would make excellent trans-state rivals.

You can't make conferences by geography because NFL teams move around all the time. Within a few years your conferences are all stupid again.

The NFL should switch conferences completely around at random every five years. Like the NBA draft lottery, put all the teams in a hat and draw the new conferences.

Don't like your conference opponent? Tough shit. Anyway, they will change in five years.
