Greatest captian of all time, hockey or otherwise? I think so, but then again I am slightly biased :P

P.S. Anyone else out there that think football is extremely overrated? The game can be boring as hell to watch (has it's exciting games, but they don't really happen that often) and the atheletes all seem like a bunch of terrible crybabies

I like hockey too, but hockey isn't popular thus no one cares about it. Not even you.

Damnit, OP

I came in here expecting an awesome Steve Yzerman thread then you had to go and fag it up with your football troll.

sage for your faggotry, reminding myself to make a proper Yzerman thread tomorrow

Fall for more obvious trolling please.

Yzerman is easily the greatest captain in NHL history.

He was the "mob boss" of the Red Wings...he controlled the locker room, told the hockey wives where to park, had influence in the whole roster...plus, he was an awesome player.

He was so awesome, that when the Wings retired his number, they put the C on his banner. He will forever be "The Captain"

Yzerman is everything a captain should be. Now, somebody explain to me why an immature baby like Cindy Crosby gets to wear the coveted C? In my many years of being a hockey fan, its only through years of bloodshed and pure heartfelt iron-willed dedication that a player earns the C on his squad...you don't give the C to your team's best player, you give the C to the person that can lead, motivate, influence the locker room. What did Crosby do to earn the C? Not a fucking thing

thats cuz crosby is the face of the NHL, hes the guy the NHL is touting to da media to be the next gretzky...but he's not...the future of the NHL are power forwards, not soft puckhandlers

Crosby is a whiny diving one-way player who can't play defense for the life of him. DEAL WITH IT

>>409697
...and you would live it if he was on your team. DEAL WITH IT
>> Anonymous
>>409705
He doesn't even make an effort to play defense...he just waits shallowly in his zone until the D-men manage (LOL, Pens defense sucks) to get the puck away from the opposing team.

The best captain, bar none.

Goddamn, do I miss him.

For me it's gotta be Keith Primeau.

Thread is for greatest captains of all-time. Not great captains who end up selling out for their own personal good.

>>409714

cool, you keep on thinking that

>>409693

WIN. doubt any of the niggers posting in this thread know shit about him

Oh just kill yourself right now. I'm a Bruinsfag and I was all for letting Ray go to the Avs. He deserved that Cup more than anyone else, and I was damn glad to see him win it, because we sure as hell weren't winning it any time soon. The organization was all for trading him, too, and unless you forget, he brought the Cup back to Boston because the Bruins meant so much to him. He didn't "sell out", and you are a complete fag for insinuating that.

...or, you're a successful troll. Either way, Ray Bourque is serious business.

If we were talking about great assistant captains then that's what Ray should have been. Great captains play out their careers with the team that treats them with the most respect. They go down when the ship goes down and they take it like a man. Ray is a sell out who just wanted some hardware to make himself feel better about his career, instead of reflecting back and seeing just 18+ miserable years in Bawston.

P.S. 18-1

You know I'm American and I CAN'T FUCKING STAND American Football. I think it's very boring. I never really bothered to get into it so maybe if I understood it I'd like it dunno. You are not alone, OP

Except all of Boston wanted to see him get a ring, and the management wanted to trade him so he could win.

Dude, I'm a Wings Fan and I had the same opinion. Of course, since that was how my boys stayed competitive for several years (see: a laundry list of players) I might have been biased...
