The limiting factor has been removed. I have seen the future. Waste shall be lain to the conference. And a wailing such as never heard before will go throughout the southeast as Fayetteville is transformed into a modern-day sports paradise. Only Tuscaloosa and Athens will be spared total destruction, and perhaps their face will be worse, as they are forced to play subservient roles to the new perennial conference champion, never able to break through.

Beware, southeastern conference. You have been judged and found wanting. All of this will come to pass. You cannot escape.

Guys like you give the realistic Arkansas fans a bad name. Facts are we're in the wrong conference (we should be in the Big 12 South instead of Baylor) and without a steady pipleline into Texas' recruiting grounds we can't compete at an elite level. No team will ever dominate the SEC like 'bama used to, but as long as Petrino sticks around we'll have a decent shot at the West.
Fuck Texas. Sooie.

It's hard to be competitive in the same conference as Texas unless you have a annually superior or at least equal team like Oklahoma. The Tech's and A&M's of the Big 12 get consistently screwed by black and burnt orange striped refs, just like Arkansas did in the old SWC.

I don't know much about the officiating situation in the SEC, but consider yourself lucky you aren't in the Big 12. As an OU fan I would love to see them play a real team like Arky every year over those terrible and crazy Baptists, but Arkansas is in the best situation it could hope for.
>> Anonymous
>>10504
I can say that USC would've lost to them, just like you said LSU would've lost to USC. But for the sake of decorum here's a couple of reasons - they were the only team in this decade to go undefeated in the SEC - not even the three national championship teams from the conference in the 2000s can say that. Jason Campbell, Ronnie Brown and Cadillac Williams were parts of an offense that was every bit as potent, if not more so, than the trojans'.
>> Anonymous
>>10519
Check the records, friend Sooner. Nobody plays Texas as close year in and year out. Last two times we played we stomped them in their house, then in a losing season for the team we still had the game won until a bit of Vince Young in the fourth. Mostly because it matters a lot more to the Hogs than it does to the horns, but there's no denying that we play them tough and beat them fairly regularly.
Arkansas is just out of place in the SEC, really. All of our rivals are in the Big 12 (no matter how much you want to call LSU a rival, there's no history), and Texas is where we like/need to recruit. Being on TV regularly in Texas means being in the Big 12. Even TCU would be a better choice for a Big 12 team than Baylor though. At least they can beat everyone but Texas.
>> Anonymous
>>10524
not everybody thinks the sec is all powerful, football is a religion in the south people tend to overexaggerate the dominance of the SEC

in reality, most of the power conferences (big 12, acc, sec, pac10) are very competitive, and interchangeable talent wise

what auburn did was very impressive, but usc and oklahoma both finished undefeated in the regular season

its easy to say after the fact auburn got a bad break, but going into the game, it was inarguable who the 2 best teams in the country were (USC / Okl)

Beloved brother, do not let yourself fall into the melancholy of mediocrity as so many of our fellow men have. The days that I know you have dreamed of are coming quickly. All the many, many wrongs that have been committed will soon be righted.

All the many wrongs – stretching back to when the Southwest Conference, that foul organization which fixated itself upon its “flagship” program at our expense, did not declare a conference champion in 1938 after we finished on top, or a poll system which declared that a 1-loss team which lost to a team we beat was national champions while we, undefeated, were not. Justice will be done for that day in 1962 in Austin when the referees jumped up and down, cheering, when the Razorbacks fumbled the ball on the goal line after having called back a touchdown the play before, or when they decided that a team not from texas could not be allowed to go to three straight cotton bowls in ’66, handing the red raiders an impossible victory – yes, even for the man who held the flag but did not throw it as he watched three Razorbacks get clipped as James Street dashed into the endzone; we will find retribution for the facemask on Calcagni which ensured that us bastard arkies wouldn’t compete for a national title in favor of the whore of Austin, for the phantom interference which gave another texas team an undefeated season.

Even the despair caused by the acts of God will be made up in full. Atwater dropping that interception which would’ve ended the game, Stoerner tripping on Burlsworth as Neyland was beginning to empty, Jones dropping the ball before we could get the go-ahead field goal, Fish backing into the endzone after Meyer stood wide-eyed on the sideline.

All of it will be made up to us, and more. Rejoice, brother. The time which was so often within our grasp is now at hand.

If you're trying to troll, you're making it hard for others to find out. I suppose that's one of the marks of a good troll, but it doesn't change the fact that you look incredibly stupid about now.

You're really having trouble convincing me that the SEC is tricking people into thinking it's the best conference when it's gone 16-5 in bowls the past two years and won two straight national titles. Both of these national championship teams were fairly evenly matched within the conference - Florida needed a miracle to beat South Carolina at home and lost at Auburn, while LSU was in close games against 5 opponents in the fourth quarter - Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, and Kentucky. Yet Florida still blew out the consensus number one team, holding them to 80 yards of offense. LSU blew out the ACC champions by 41 points and had their way with Ohio State.

You'd better take a very hard look at LSU's 2006 team before you say that. In my opinion, they had more individual talent than any team I've ever watched, which is quite a few. A good percentage of the SEC have good rivalries that they play out of conference most years. Arkansas has Texas, Florida has Florida St. and Miami, South Carolina has Clemson, and Georgia has Georgia Tech. The SEC has also played additional games with VTech, Alabama played Florida State, Auburn played South Florida, and though they don't have a particularly good record, Vandy has traveled all over out of conference, including playing at Michigan two years or so ago. And my beloved Razorbacks finished a home and home with USC last year as well, although with the injuries we had in each game it was a definite hard slog. Sooie.
