Adam Dunn, with a .526 OPS in the month of Aug with no homers. LOL D'Backs, you picked up this slug?

Not only is he a great Clubhouse presence
he is an RBI machine
He's having a slow start, but he'll pick up, and it only cost us a few minor leaguers

Micah Owings isn't a minor leaguer.

Was he part of it? It was a rumor, but official??

Yeah, its official. He just won't be traded until after the season because he's on the Triple-A DL right now.

DAMN IT!!

The worst thing is that you traded Owings at his worst possible trade value. Sure Dunn's okay, but if you did the deal before you could of had Dunn just for Owings instead of giving up Owings and two more prospects.

Dunn has only had over 100 RBI THREE times in his career, and never more than 106. That is not an RBI machine. Especially when a large percentage of his runs batted in come from home runs- feast or famine.

The clubhouse thing leaves me baffled and wondering if you are a subtle troll.

His OBP is extremely good though, I will give you that.

For someone the D-backs won't resign (nowhere to play him and he will command a fortune) I don't like giving up Owings- too much upside, even if he sucks now, and I hate trading pitchers, especially young ones for position players.

The other players in the trade are the kind of nonames you're supposed to trade in August deals.

Adam Dunn and Ken Griffey Jr. have only been trade bait all season for the Reds to pick up some younger prospects.
I guess the D'Backs were willing to take a chance on a veteran that strikes out over 9000 times every season.

D'Backs get two high draft picks if D'Backs offer arbitration and Dunn signs with another team. But, Dunn is looking for a big contract, and if it isn't there will look to accept arbitration. Dunn's looking to make at least $15 million.

True. But if they offer him arbitration and he accepts, it could be EPIC FAIL, since he could probably win his case

Its not about winning the case, D'Backs and Dunn could get a deal done before the arbitration case is heard. But yeah, paying Dunn $15 million when the Dodgers are looking to resign Manny and pick up C.C. in the off season isn't a good idea.

DUNN IS A DUM DUM

Yeah, but why would the D-backs really want to get it done? He is a great player, but he doesn't fit in past this season. I don't know the arbitration / free agency situation, but there are definitely players who they need to devote resources to besides him.
