>The Atlanta Braves, full-steam ahead in their pursuit of right-hander Jake Peavy, are offering a four-player package of players, and San Diego is expected to request that Peavy waive his no-trade clause so the deal can be completed, CBSSports.com has learned.

>Under terms of the deal discussed by the Braves and Padres, San Diego would receive shortstop Yunel Escobar, Class A outfielder Gorkys Hernandez, one of two starting pitchers -- Charlie Morton or Jo-Jo Reyes -- and either reliever Blaine Boyer or one of two minor-league left-handers (one of which is believed to be Jeff Locke).

Not sure if want...

And yet the Braves still won't win the NL East.

Yunel Escobar is the best player the Braves have not named Chipper Jones. Hes like a younger version of Rafael Furcal.

So you're saying Yunel Escobar is better than Brian McCann?

I meant that I'm not sure I want the Braves trading Escobar, even for Peavy.

Peavy's really good at baseball.

Peavy is a good pitcher, there's no doubting that BUT Petco helps him ALOT.

Okay, not named McCann, or Jones. But Escobar is probably one of the top five shortstops in the NL right now. Which is funny since everyone in the NL East has some really good shortstops with Florida having the best player not named Pujols in baseball.

I swear to God, if the Braves do this, I will kill Frank Wren. He has fucked this organization up so much!!! I hate him.

Now, on a separate, but related note, Peavy does have family in the Atlanta area, so this would be one of the reasons why he would waive his no trade clause.

I just want the Braves to pick up Peavy because of it'll end the stupid Dodgers talk about picking him up.

The Dodgers haven't even offered a player up for Peavy, but get thrown in between L.A. is only two hours away from San Diego. But the Padres have stated that they want a more from a proposed Dodgers trade even after going on notice that they really like the Dodgers farm system. Trade him to the Braves already Padres, so the Dodgers don't make a stupid trade.
