OH CAPTAIN, MY CAPTAIN

I'm the only one happy that Mats is staying in Toronto. Wouldn't have been sad if he left, but I'm not PO'd that he "screwed" the franchise out of prospects and draft picks, unlike 99% of other leaf fans.

Most Leaf fans I've talked to seem to be happy with his decision. For now.

Once he retires after this season or signs with another team is when he's going to be shit on.

"Sundin is a pending unrestricted free agent, and Fletcher told the Canadian Press that the forward is "not interested in entering into a deal for next year" at this time. Should the Leafs even welcome him back? Sundin has placed his own personal comfort ahead of self-sacrifice for the franchise he so dearly adores. The asking price was only going to rise as Tuesday's deadline grew near; there's no telling what improvements to next year's Leafs their captain just pissed away because of his nihilism toward the "concept of a rental player."

Mats Sundin is a huge faggot.

What a bunch of ungrateful Leafs fans. He's consistently done one thing that nobody who has played for the Leafs lately has done- not suck.

It's because of alot in the media in Toronto. I guess a group of people are saying now if he doesn't waive his no trade clause, they should take away his captaincy.

I, for one, would love a guy like sundin on my team. I know not all Leafs fans want him gone, but I don't see all the sense in moving him.

If TBL doesnt resign Boyle, he'll probably end up with NYR

I'm rather pleased with Sundin as well. I'm not a Toronto fan, but I'm impressed that a player finally took a stand against the rent-a-player playoff tactics.

as a toronto fan im glad sundin stayed... yes it makes rebuilding a bitch, but it's nice to see his dedication and desire to stay with us... which makes it kind of odd that if what>>16360said was true, he doesnt have plans to re-sign with toronto next year... sauce?

too bad kubina, tucker and mccabe (although mccabe said he'd consider a trade), probably won't be traded

also forsberg... I thought he wanted to go to a cup contender... forget the chronic physical problems he has, does he really think the avs can win a cup with theodore? granted hes been doing better but his team doesn't make it any easier on him
