Not op but, Sooners were the people back in the days of western expansion that would zerg rush to the land in Oklahoma. The "sooner" you get here, the more land you get.
>> Black ? Star !x8ngkAZjXE

So it's just like Oklahoma football then? The sooner they lose, sooner you get back home.
>> Anonymous
>>388971
Pretty much.

At that time "Sooner" was a pejorative term, but the whole land run was immoral, so in hindsight being a Sooner was a little like stealing from a thief.
>> Anonymous
Why is your team and conference so overrated? I mean I guess its fun to just focus everything on offense and have no defense whatsoever, but doesnt that get boring eventually?

Also, do you REALLY think you'll be able to beat the SEC Champion?
>> Anonymous
You'll be a good warm-up game for the Longhorns. Since their next four games are OU, Mizzou, OSU, and TTech....combined record of 20-0.

Even though I'm pretty bitter towards OU fans, I'll admit I'm nervous about this Saturday more than any of the next four. Truth be told...I just want a Big 12 team to beat "the" SEC team come January.

>>388980
Has it occurred to you that the SEC is overrated? Your best team is Vandy, for chrissakes.

Oklahoma and Texas have won national championships, and while Florida has too, LSU's is tainted. Both times. GO TROJANS.
>> Anonymous
>>388992
How is Vandy the SEC's best team? Because they beat Auburn? Dont make me laugh, please.

Wow, Texas and Oklahoma have BOTH won championships? In the past 18 years so have Florida, LSU, Tennessee and Alabama. Whats your point?

So what is the best team in the SEC then?

Alabama? Who blew out Georgia at home and then let them get back in the game? Or almost lost to Kentucky at home?

Flordia? Who had a lackluster win against Miami (FL) at home? Who lost to Ole Miss at home?

Auburn? 3-2 win over Mississippi State? Lost to LSU? 14-12 win over Tennesseee? Lost to Vanderbilt lol?

Georgia? Almost lost to South Carolina? Lackluster win over Arizona State? Lost to Alabama at home?

Vanderbilt? lol, seriously.

I don't like that I am defending a USC fan's point, but seriously, SEC is overrated. The best teams in the nation reside in the Big 12. Also, don't be surprised to see an undefeated OU/Mizzou/Texas face off against undefeated Penn State in the championship. Why? Because it is very possible that the SEC champion could have 2 losses tacked onto their record. And Penn State has a favorable schedule to finish undefeated.

In b4 Big 10 comments, and blatant SEC ignorance.

Oh man, I left out LSU of my rant. Haha, the irony of that is funny. Anyways, LSU with struggling wins against Auburn and Mississippi State. As well as only beating North Texas 41-3? Florida Atlantic beat North Texas by that much.

Fuck, I fucked that up too. Florida International I mean, not Florida Atlantic. Although, really, basically the same shit.

Oklahoma? Crushing the almighty Chattanooga, Cincinatti, Washington, Baylor, and *gasp* 24th ranked!!!! TCU? Wow, what an impressive schedule. I sure learned a whole lot about how they beat up on nobodies.

Texas? Encountering an equally star-studded list of Florida Atlantic, UTEP, Rice, Colorado, and Arkansas? Color me impressed! You even snuck in a win against the SEC there with the powerhouse Arkansas squad!

You guys are incredible!!!!!

So far the "powerhouse" teams of the Big 12 have taken care of the games they were slated to win, and done so by a substantial margin. SEC "powerhouse" teams have struggled, and even lost to teams they were slated to beat. Thanks for playing.

i'm just saying getting the big xii's dick so far up your ass after winning your cupcake 5 week schedule is pretty misguided. just about every team that you listed in the sec has played a better team every week than either OU or Texas.

the big xii is going to be left with either OU, Texas, or Missouri in the NC almost certainly, but it's going to be delicious when they got raped. like i said before, when it happens, i am going to troll this board about it until the next season when big xii fans get excited over the first 5 weeks again.

>>389073
to clarify, i meant they played teams better than the teams OU and Texas played, not teams better than OU or Texas, obv.

oh and auburn is terrible, you're right. their spread offense is just a complete failure.
>> Anonymous
Protip: if you wanna bash the SEC, don't use examples of SEC teams beating other SEC teams. That only proves the balance of the conference.
>> Anonymous
Undefeated through 5 weeks, congrats! Remember the last time OU went undefeated in the regular season? In 2004 they were just stomping their conference a new one and raping every other game they played.

And what happens when they get introduced to a good non-conference team? USC limited OU's "spectacular" offense to 19 points and threw up 55 of their own.

Your conference sucks.

First of all, lol @ comparing the SEC division against two teams from the Big 12. I like that it takes an entire division to live up to that of two individual teams.

But anyways, the "best" of the SEC has struggled and lost to teams they were supposed to beat. The "best" of the Big 12 beat the teams they were supposed to beat, and done so by a wide margin. I guess maybe with the exception of Kansas losing @ South Florida, and struggling with Iowa State. But that loss is a non conference ranked opponent. Something the "best" of the SEC routinely stays clear of, especially if the "best" of the SEC team has to travel there.

Just so you know; non conference ranked opponents:
SEC teams have faced 3 so far, Big 12 teams have faced 5 so far. The non conference non ranked opponents both conferences have played are pretty much the same. Granted, the SEC has played more conference games so far. But come on, the "best' of the SEC losing to supposed subpar SEC teams? Vanderbilt in first, and undefeated? Surely, you jest.
>> Lord of the Idiots !xBU36ZELko

>Protip: if you wanna bash the SEC, don't use examples of the best SEC teams beating/struggling against average to bad SEC teams. That only proves the mediocrity of the conference.

If a team is the best team in the nation, they should be able to win every week regardless of who they play. And sorry, the SEC is no more of a daunting task to play in than the Big 12 is this year. Perhaps that argument held water a couple years ago and in the past. Not so much this current season.
>> Anonymous
>>389114
Wow, how many times do we have to explain it to you Big XII idiots. SEC teams purposely pick easy OOC opponents because they will face a great deal of competition once the conference games start.

And again, SEC teams beat each other all the time which includes Vandy, Ole Miss, and Miss St. Vandy always upsets a highly ranked team in their seasons. Last year it was South Carolina, in 2006 it was Georgia, in 2005 it was Tennessee, so them being undefeated now is not surprising for me. Please, continue to assume that because Vanderbilt wins that it means the entire conference sucks, but it's not as if Vandy pulls in the best talent they can to play in the SEC, oh wait.

Oh yeah, at least no SEC team has picked two FCS opponents like Texas Tech has.

Yeah, I talked about your relevant teams (not Missouri because I don't know anything about them really). The fact that there's so few is not something to brag about.

>But anyways, the "best" of the SEC has struggled and lost to teams they were supposed to beat. The "best" of the Big 12 beat the teams they were supposed to beat, and done so by a wide margin. Yeah, UGA lost to Bama in a boring game when both raped each other in two different halves, but #3 losing to #8 is not exactly an "oh shit" moment. UGA's offense struggled against Southern Carolina, but they don't have a defense to be taken too lightly, so while it was a shitty performance, that wasn't too scary either.

Florida did get embarrassed, true story. That's part of the standard argument of SEC fans, though, that they beat each other up. It happened. Worse than expected, but they still have plenty of time to make up for it, and no SEC team is expected to go undefeated.

Auburn's offense sucks, they don't deserve discussion.

LSU struggled with Miss. St, that was unexpected. Given.

Vandy is looking good this year unexpectedly, and I don't know how they'll end up, but that's another good team that we normally don't have.

SEC is still best, enjoy your time going "LOL U LOST A GAME." I'll return the favor shortly.
