I'm not a capitals fan, but I find myself wondering if they can make it to the playoffs. As it stands right now, the caps are in 9th place. they are 2 points behind the flyers, and 3 points behind the Hurricanes. It's doable, especially if AO keeps tearing it up like he's been for the last few games.

I don't know about you other anons., but I'd love to see how AO raises his game in the playoffs. It'd be even better if the caps end up playing Montreal, so we can see Huet vs the team that basically gave him away.

I hope they pass the Hurricanes, and then the Hurricanes miss the playoffs.

I hope a freak accident occurs in which none of the SE division teams make it.

Just give everyone playoff spot to the Atlantic Division...Capitals suck aside from Ovechkin, not an all around team.

what about Green or Backstrom? Green is tied with most goals in the league by a d-men and Backstrom is rivaling Patrick Kane for rookie scoring and the calder

there is also alex semin, but he's got as much downside as upside; sick moves one night, then pp canceling stick penalties the next.our owner says he's got more raw talent than AO

I am a caps fan and there are a lot of unsung heros like Green and Backstrom on the team. The D is full of holes though and the fans are constantly calling for a rough stay at home d-men, but I think they're waiting for Patrick Kane (team Canada captain this previous tournament) to mature for next year.

But yeah, AO will power the caps for years to come; big whoop. Gretzky, Jagr (for a time), Lemeuix, all the big ones overshadow the people around them, even Crosby will with Malkin in there. AO isn't out there scoring 4 goals every night and then hopping down the other end to play D and goal; it's a team game and it's because of the team the caps went from last in the league to contenders this season; especially when AO went for 7 straight games with no goals, but the caps kept winning anyway

or the northeast division, not the atlantic.

I hope it works out so that if it wasn't for the automatic top-three finish for division leaders, no team in the SE would be in the playoffs. That division is garbage.

See, Washington had one blowout game against Boston and suddenly they're predicted to take the playoffs by storm. It's like the people who saw the Habs comeback game (THE comeback game) then suddenly decided they're winning the cup this year.

Another potential SC win by a Southeast Division team. JUST WHAT EVERYONE NEEDS OR WANTS!
