When is the media going to notice that these teams are in the same conference?

I go to App, and dont give a shit about our sports.

Never because a) the media is filled with people like Tony Kornholer who don't want to have to think about anything new with their tiny pea-brains and b) none of those schools is in a truly major media market.

Of course, those of us in the know realize full well that the Southern Conference has always had potential giant killers in it. Most have already forgotten that the SoCon is where Marshall came from. While they will never be "big time" and may never again hit the level of attention they did when App State beat Michigan, people who are more concerned with seeing ENTERTAINING football and basketball than some plodding "major match-up" know that SoCon games are usually a lot more fun...at least when you can find them on some godforsaken channel way up in the 400's.

Or maybe it's because either the SEC is arrogant in picking who they think the best athletes are... or maybe just in picking who the "best" coaches are.

Though personally I'm thinking these kids just can't afford to go to Michigan or UCLA. We can't all be rich bastards.

So fucking glad that we, Georgia Southern, ended your home football winning streak.

You mean shortly before A-State won the national championship?

Right on.

does georgia southern still run triple option, out of curiosity?

That win was still sweet to see the app fags BAWWWING for those few moments.

Yes, but it may possibly be changed around. It was scraped when VanGorder took over but Hatcher then used his first year since Jayson Foster was such a great dual-threat. He may do away with this coming season though since he's known for his passing game.

NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision
>> Anonymous
I will always call it 1AA

what was the NCAA's reasoning for changing it to the championship subdivision again?
>> Anonymous
>>43444

I'm sure some politically correct "we don't want the lesser schools to sound unimportant" bullshit
>> Anonymous
>>43463
then why is it called a subdivision
>> UZ !kHzD4It5Tc
>>43436

This is the NCAA trolling it's fans
>> Anonymous
>>43467

1A is now officially the "football bowl subdivision", so they're technically on the same level

of course, it'll all need changed up again in a few years when playoffs inevitably rear their head

Davidson's upset of them pales in comparison to Appalachian State's upset.

People who watched Davidson this year knew they weren't a 10 seed. Now we've got proof.

>>43485

Ditto. After what I'd been hearing the last few weeks, Davidson definitely should have been ranked higher; high enough for at least a home game in the opening round.

"Home" game meaning being treated as the "home team" in the first round, being a least an 8 seed.

Because A and AA ONLY refers to football. All of those same teams compete at the same level in terms of basketball and other sports.
