Torres is about half the player David Villa is.
>> Anonymous
Even though Eto'o is playing at only a 60% of his capability, he's still better than Torres, Rooney, Tevez, Huntelaar, Adebayor, etc.
>> Anonymous
Drogba is by far the best true striker in the Premiership. Rooney, Tevez, Torres, Berbatov are lightweights.
>> Anonymous
Have to go with Eto'o. Followed by Ruud, Villa, Drogba and Trezeguet.

Next year it's gonna be Aguero.

david trezegol

the french need to get their heads out of their asses and play a three man strike force with trezeguet up front, with benzema and henry. anelka and ben afra as subs

you dont lead serie a in goals without being a classy player
>> Anonymous

Trezeguet's a faggot. He's the reason we lost the last the World Cup.

France would concede over 9000 goals with a setup like that.

put sidney govou and samir nasri on the wings, and have makelele in midfield as the fulcrum of attack. he does this well for club and country.

have either patrice evra, gael clichy, or eric abidal at the fullbacks....those are pacey players who go forward, have great passing and crosses, and they play defense.

fast lineup is fast

Leading scorer with 25 premier league goals. 34 total this season, and there's still two months left. Definitely the best striker.

That's because 16 of the Premier League clubs, are shit. Like complete, utter shit. Eto'o would have at least 39 by now.
>> Anonymous
>>45993
That's why there are 4 English clubs in the quarter finals of the CL and 1 Spanish and 1 German and 1 Italian and 1 Turkish club.

Notice how Ruud is scoring way more for Madrid than he did for Man Utd during his last seasons there?
>> Anonymous
CR7 is a little whiney bitch, a diver, and a ball hog. look at who has the most shots on goal in the premier league....and its CR7 by a country mile. hes greedy, cries like a little bitch, and so much of what he does is selfish play
>> Anonymous
>>45995
Don't worry, there won't be a single ENG team in the 2010 quarters.
>> Anonymous
i will also say that in the premier league, you have the top three, chelsea, arsenal, and ManURE. i wont even include liverpool in any domestic conversations because they havent won shit in forever. liverpool = europe

but outside of the top 3, you have have sun a noticable drop off. and at the bottom of the table, you have some serious problems with clubs that just cant compete. look at derby....they really pushed the table in the championship, overachieved in the playoffs, and made the premiership. and this season....they havent even won a fixture as of yet.

the spanish la liga is such a better competition, like the premier league every club has an assortment of world class players, albeit some (barca, real, valencia, sevilla) more than others. and unlike the premier league, you see clubs always in competetive fixtures where there is no preordained outcome like you see in the premier league. just look at barcelona this year, and clubs that they have lost and dropped points to.

la liga is such a better competition that the premier league

Probably because the Liverpool fans will kill some more people and get English clubs banned for another 10 years.
>> Anonymous
The Premier League is a circus. It's also full of fail.

“It’s a nonsense idea… Soon you will have in England no English presidents (of clubs), you already have no English (national team) coach, you have no English players and maybe now you will have no clubs playing in England. It’s a joke.”

I hate Platini, but this is so true.
>> Anonymous
>>46008
How's that xenophobia working out for you?
>> Anonymous
>>46008

lol, soon the english national team will be like france, and be reduced to importing the national team players from their former colonies. i mean to actually find frenchmen born in france playing for the team...roffle

well...england is already there....they do have owen hargreaves who is really canadian LOL
>> Anonymous
>>45995
notice how Torres is doing better than he ever was in Spain? DUHRHRHRH

besides, his point was that the other 16 teams in england, not the big 4, are all garbage. they're easy to rack up goals against.

The EPL is the best in the world in terms of money and current performance in the champions league, but Ronaldo wouldn't score 30 goals in Spain. there's too much quality in the rest of the teams.

besides Levante. They're the derby county - no, the Gretna of Spain

Torres was playing for Atletico. He's playing for much better side nowadays.

I know it said "in football" but I don't even care.
>> Anonymous
>>46016
not better in attack than Atletico. compare atletico's wingers with Liverpool's: kuyt? Pennant? Babel? ok, babel's good, but he's not a winger and he never plays to begin with. Torres gets no service, he creates chances himself with pace and dribbling.

Liverpool is only a better side because Atletico is consistently terrible and disorganized at the back.
>> Anonymous
>>46041

"consistently terrible and disorganized at the back."

Like yo mamma.
>> Anonymous
When Torres left, Kun turned Atletico into a good team.
>> Anonymous
>>46062
no, atletico is the same team they were last year. exciting to watch and very dangerous, but inconsistent and shitty when it counts (see: bolton).

they might actually hold out for a champions league spot though.
>> Anonymous

Not gonna be easy. Racing, Sevilla and Espanyol are all within 5 points.

David Trezeguet
this guy is fucking beast. He gets sick and still is the leading scorer

I do not hate the game, i just think that it is poorly shown on tv. the camera is too close and you only get to see the ball. and like hockey I no there is alot more interesting things about soccer off the ball. but since I live in america and there is not shit for teams, the game is boring. Untill production gets better soccer will remain in the shiter in america

It's actually pretty simple. See picture.

Of course it's not THAT simple but you get the idea. Torres would be an example of a good player who performs decently in Spain (B) and has plentiful success in England (A) (Henry being the opposite. He did even worse in Italy (C)). Van Bronckhorst was almost a nobody when he played for Arsenal (C) but become a very useful left back at Barca (B). He probably would have done better in Italy, where, per example, both Walter Samuel and Cannavaro looked like the best defenders of the world (A) only to sign for Real and fail spectaculary (C).

I'm only refering to average or good players, obviously. A GREAT goalscorer would have good stats anywhere he played, same with defenders, playmakers, etc.

Actually no, I still think the EPL is a bit ahead of the other two, and that the gap is gonna grow larger.

Calcio is utter shit nowadays. They've added the best offensive players to very solid teams in the past but not anymore. When your league's main star is the overrated Kaka, you have a problem.

>>46162
Totti would have won one or two European Footballer of the Year awards if he had left Roma when he had the chance.
>> Anonymous
Lol @ Britfags believing that the EPL is the best league.
Sure. And your national team is a world super power, amirite?
>> Anonymous
The overrated Kaka singlehandedly won the Champions League last year. Which is something an English team will never do again.
>> Anonymous
>>46169
funny that you say that about Totti

he thinks that he and Raul should have won it at least once, and they probably haven't just for the reason you gave

article:
http://www.goal.com/en-us/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=636835

as a fan of the Italian game, I do agree that the game isn't quite as glamorous as it once was. Roma is one of maybe 3 teams still playing attacking, dynamic football, with it otherwise appearing in small doses.
>> Anonymous
>>46173
the EPL has nothing to do with england, interestingly enough
>> Anonymous
>>46183
I was not impliying there's a "black hand" behind those awards. A guy with the talent of Totti would have standed out even more in Spain or in England, that is, where offensive talent is actually rewarded.

By the way, Raul has many strengths, but talent is not among them. He has determination and knows all the tricks inside the box, but he's definitely not talented. I don't think he ever deserved the EPY award, but then again, they gave it to Owen, Sammer, Cannavaro...
>> Anonymous
>>46196
>>46183
Totti is just a cheating faggot. Spitting at and elbowing players is not European Footballer of the Year material.
