Panthersfag here. I don't get how the Colts can be ranked over the Panthers. They're 6-4 in a division with Houston and Jacksonville both having down seasons, while the Panthers are 8-2 in a division with three teams over .500 and one team right at .500. The Panthers also have a better defense and running game than the Colts.

The Steelers being ranked over them isn't quite as big of a deal to me, as they have the best defense in the league.

The Panthers are 8-2 in and leading a division everyone seems to claim is just as tough as the NFC East, or a close second to it, yet no one gives them any credit. What gives?

Probably because they've barely beaten the Lions and Raiders over the past two weeks and the Colts just beat NE and Pittsburgh.

Fellow Panthersfag here. This isn't the BCS, so don't worry about it. We just have to go in take of the rest of our NFC South opponents. Rankings don't mean shit.

because no one belives in the fox! fellow panthersfag, the problem with the puddy kats is they never blow a team out, look at detroit. They always play to their oppisions level, I love em, but they are lazy and don't always show up. as for the rankings, it doesn't matter, it's who gets to hold the lombardi trophey at the end. Stats are stats to make internet geeks fap to their fav players.

I don't get why Fox is so unpopular. He's far and away the best coach the Panther's have ever had. In his tenure the only years we haven't made playoffs are years when we're devastated with injuries. Whenever we do make playoffs we always seem to make it to the NFC Championship.

Because Jacksonville and Texas are both good teams, and they are even tougher in division games.

Your division is full of fail.

its pretty obvious these 3 don't actually look at the power rankings to have a say so in them. writers don't give credit to the NFC south, 8-2, 7-3, 6-4 with tons of potential we have yet to see what matt ryan will do in high stakes games, or what kind of fucking trick shit the buc's will pull out when no one is looking.

you three, please lurk more and know your sport

The Colts average 7 more yards a game than the Panthers, big deal.

And uh.....well, Jake has his moments.

Also, the Panthers are 6th in the league in running yardage, Colts are dead last.

John Fox took a team that was 1-15, turned it around into a 7-9 team in one year, and has built it up into a perennial playoff contender as long as the entire team doesn't get hurt.

Seifert took a team that Bill Walsh built up and just managed not to fuck up.

The two criteria. Was he the best coach out of all possible coaches listed? Check.

Did he coach the Panthers? Check.

Everyone knows that Delhomme's not the best quarterback around, but he's not that bad. The Panther's are a run first, defensive minded team also. Plenty of teams have found success with worse quarterbacks with that type of mindset, see the 85 Bears or 2000 Ravens.

The Panthers also had 8 comeback victories the year they made it to the Super Bowl and Delhomme's had he's clutch moments, like the OT game against the Rams that year.
