In offseason news, Hossa has cloned himself 29 times and has accepted contracts for every team in the NHL, citing it as the best chance of winning a Stanley Cup.

Wtf, brothers come in 3-packs now?

There are like 80 trillion Staal brothers.

I enjoyed the Bure brothers... Valeri and Pavel... are they retried now?

Three, and the fourth was drafted.

The Sutters were even worse. Six brothers, 5000+ games, 3000+ points, and 8000+ penalty minutes amongst them.

Pavel retired in 2003, Valeri in 2004.

Fedor Fedorov
Sean Pronger
Steve Kariya

They're all AHL trash.

Why do they even continue playing hockey? How do they stand the humiliation during Christmas dinners?

Chris Pronger is talking about winning the Stanley Cup, his MVP trophies, what he's spending his millions of dollars on ... then out of pity, mom is like "So Sean ... uh, how's the Manitoba Moose working out for you?"

Because they are putting bread on the table while playing the sport that they love?

I can't believe some of us have lost our subjectivity to the point that love of the sport isn't a viable reason anymore. Sometimes it isn't about the prestige.

Faggots. All of you.

The AHL is considered "high level" according to the IIHF. Think about it...there are thousands of hockey players in North America and Europe. They have to end up somewhere. Players in the AHL are really really good, just not cut out for the big show yet.

Most AHL cities have strong fanbases. Look at places like Wilkes-Barre, Rochester, and Milwaukee.

Also, you have the ECHL, which is the "punk rock" of hockey...if you disagree with me, go to Estero, Florida and watch an Everblades game. Their crowds easily shame the NHL-level Panthers crowds easily.

This.

Consider that AHL players make six figure salaries. While they are not uber-millionaires like their NHL counterparts, they do live pretty cozy considering that all they do is knock around a piece of rubber with a stick.

The South Carolina Stingrays (shock/surprise) also put up pretty awesome numbers as far as attendance in the ECHL. We also have those silly little traditions that other teams do... like the Goal Grannies... they are just plain awesome.

That's all well and good, but there's still the fact that your brother is better than you. Do you have siblings? There's no way I would ever be able to stand it.

Canadafags: Look no further than the minor leagues for proof that HOCKEY DOES WORK IN THE SOUTH!!!!
