Will Demps, Hines Ward, Haruki Nakamura, Eugene Amano and maybe a few others are about the only current NFL players of Asian descent. There have been others though like Nat Nguyen and the Morton brothers.

I had no idea they actually had competitive football in Japan. I'm sure if anybody's any good they could get a shot as a late round or UDFA.

The Japanese love gimmicks, and Boise St. probably has the biggest gimmick out of any football team in the U.S.

There have been three American Football World Cup competitions and Japan has won two of them.

Admittedly, the US didn't compete in the two in which Japan won; but Japan did force their 2007 game with the US into overtime, which they eventually lost 23-20. One should keep in mind, though, that the US's team was comprised mostly of players from FCS and Division 2 schools.

Exactly. We could have kicked their asses with a college football all star team. We don't even need to mess with average NFL players. This is why the US isn't recruiting in Japan.
