Calderon, Bosh, and Doc.

Steve Nash's lack of D'Antoni offense has rendered him less effective. He had 15 dimes the other night, we'll see if it continues. Deron Williams and Tony Parker have been hurt so it's tough to gauge.

Jason Kidd shouldn't be in the top 5 anything. This isn't an all time ranking so don't bring up his records, he pretty much destroyed the Mavs as a contender in the west when he came over while Devin Harris is killin it on a shitty team and is about 50 years younger. gj dallas/cuban

- Parker is a SG playing PG and has a shitty career AST/TO ratio. I'd much rather have Calderon there. Hell, I'd take Devin Harris in front of Parker.
- I forgot Wade, sorry. Yeah, stick him at 2 and move everyone else down one.
- I originally had Duncan off the list entirely and had Nowitzki at 4, but I changed my mind. He's not going higher than Amare or Bosh, though. KG...maybe.
>> HKK !h7MHU9L/Oo
>>494867

Amare the best power forward? Uh, no.
>> Kilgamayan !2BklmILFiE
>>494878

Lewis is insanely underrated and is having a really good year so far. Melo, Artest and Kirilenko all deserve consideration but I think Lewis has earned that spot.

>>494880

Pierce is a SG that has spent his career in Boston playing the 3 because they've never had another decent SF. Iguodala I'll admit I don't know much about, though.

9/10
well done

it is well agreed among the basketball community that tim duncan is the greatest power forward to ever play the game. there is no retort for that statement. bosh is playing amazing but cannot win a game by himself, this is evident by toronto's losses this season. he looks frustrated. kevin garnett also shut him down completely a few weeks in. you're only god-tier if you can't be shut down.

parker bears no resemblance to a SG. i am not going to even justify that with a response. learn what a shooting guard is.
>> Kilgamayan !2BklmILFiE
>>494900

He bears no resemblance to a PG, either.

Go back to Tottenham.
>> HKK !h7MHU9L/Oo
>>494900

Duncan isn't the player he was five years ago. We all agree that Jordan is the best shooting guard ever but it doesn't mean he was the top player in the sport when he was on the Wizards.
>> Anonymous
>I originally had Duncan off the list entirely
>Parker is a SG playing PG and has a shitty career AST/TO ratio

just hatin' on the spurs.

duncan is behind bosh and maybe garnett.

Parkers AST/TO ratio gets better every year. look at the stats.

Everyone in the league has bad games, Bosh had a bad game. He never plays well against KG since he's been in Boston, though. Meh.

Look at some of the best power forwards to ever play the game in their 6th year.. Bosh has about 6 PPG on Duncan, 5 on KG and he's within 2 of Malone. That's god-tier. Totally leaving out defense, but he's really improved defensively and he's still at least 2x better defensively than Amare.

Duncan MIN: 35.5

Calderon: 4.48
Harris: 3.45
Parker: 2.07

Hell, while we're doing this, let's have some fun with other PGs!

Alston: 3.47
Davis: 3.45
Rondo: 3.25
Duhon: 3.11
Bibby: 3.10
Fisher: 3.08
Miller: 2.90
Blake: 2.86
Conley: 2.76
Nelson: 2.63
Chalmers (rookie): 2.61
Kidd: 2.51

god there's a lot of statfags in this thread. popovich's offense looks down upon quick shots, so you're going to see less in the AST column. duncan also likes to bounce the ball once before he scores which also takes away assists.

I think Parker is better than Kilgamayan is giving him credit but I'd rather have Paul, Williams, Nash, Calderon, Billups and maybe Baron Davis when he's healthy. You can add Rose to that list by the end of the year, too.
>> Kilgamayan !2BklmILFiE
>>494952

I respect Parker as a scorer.

I would not want him running my team's point, however.
>> HKK !h7MHU9L/Oo
>>494954

So you're saying he's Gilbert Arenas?
>> Anonymous
Where the fuck is Jordan Farmer and Derek Fisher. You're all a bunch of Lakers haters. Fuck you. Farmer's at least better than Jason Kidd this year. And Fisher's a top 15 point guard.
>> Anonymous
>>494954

Why?

He might accidentally lead you to a title?

OH SHI-
>> Anonymous
Parker isn't a shooting guard because he can't... shoot. He is the main ball handler for the Spurs team, and his game has never diversify enough to be considered a SG. Look at AI, he has the size of a SG but he can pull up a midrange jumper from anywhere. His assist numbers were never impressive but the Spurs have always focus on good team passing. Had they been a team that is totally reliant on stars making plays Duncan would average 5 assist already.

And I have hardly seen Duncan decline like you people said. He can probably score 30+ a game if he wanted to, but that would just take away learning opportunity from their bench players when Manu and Parker were out. Even if Duncan cannot score like he used to, with the way he plays defense he should definitely be above Amare and possibly tie with Bosh.
>> HKK !h7MHU9L/Oo
>>494956

God dammit I cannot wait until the Lakers go down this year. /sp/ is going to be hilarious.
>> Anonymous
In no particular order

John Stockton
Gary Payton
Mark Jackson
Tim Hardaway
Avery Johnson
>> Kilgamayan !2BklmILFiE
>>494955

Arenas, Iverson, Bibby to a lesser extent. That ilk of point guard. (Incidentally, I would not want any of these guys running my team's point either.)

The difference between them and Parker is that Parker is a slasher instead of a chucker, but as far as running the point goes they're roughly the same.
>> Anonymous
>>494961

You just got trolled.

That said, I do think Farmer can eventually be a top ten PG. Fucker needs to learn how to play defense though.
>> HKK !h7MHU9L/Oo
>>494960

Yeah, I agree about Duncan. He's still one of the best players in the game he's just not on the same level he was a few years back. I'd rank him ahead of Amare for sure.
>> Anonymous
I'm going to have to disagree. We're arguing over semantics. Tony Parker is one of the best players in the league. He's a point guard.
>> Anonymous
>>494962

Now you've lost me
>> HKK !h7MHU9L/Oo
>>494965

>> Kilgamayan !2BklmILFiE
>>494958

My team's PG - who has been compared to Tony Parker more than anyone else (a comparison I personally don't see beyond the whole slashing thing but whatever) - ran the point exactly the way I like it run last year, and we came away with a title.

So, uh.
>> Anonymous
>>494966

Duncan and Garnett

yes

Dirk and Amare

no

Bosh...

We'll see. he gets better every year. I'm a fan of his.
>> Anonymous

So the only conclusion we can make is that Rajon Rondo is a better point guard than Tony Parker.

>>My team's PG - who has been compared to Tony Parker more than anyone else (a comparison I personally don't see beyond the whole slashing thing but whatever) - ran the point exactly the way I like it run last year, and we came away with a title.

Don't worry about that. Doc Rivers going to fuck this up again, and going to start Cassel over Rondo once the playoffs start again.
>> HKK !h7MHU9L/Oo
>>494971

Sam Cassell ran the point on the back to back Houston Rockets championship teams. He's officially better than John Stockton.

>> Kilgamayan !2BklmILFiE
>>494975

Point guard? Yes. Player? Arguable, but probably not. I like what Rondo does more but leave him alone against a team with good interior D and he'll struggle.
>> Anonymous
>>494979
I know, just putting it out there.

While I would like our point guard to average a double-double, they just don't play that style of ball. They're slowest team in the league and ginobili is most effective creating his own shot. Not to mention that they're a defensive minded team that basis their offense off duncan and the low post and strong bench play.
>> Anonymous
>>494977

uhhhh no

kenny smith was always the starter at point during the back to back championships, with cassell coming off the bench
>> HKK !h7MHU9L/Oo
>>494991

Yeah, I know that and Cassell was better off the bench than Stockton was at starting. Since clearly, rings are the only thing that matters.

>> Anonymous
>>495015
Wat? Why would you want Randolph over Kamen? Why does he have a job.
>> Anonymous
>>495015

But you guys have MARCUS CAMBY who's obviously a big name acquisition, get rid of that old fail team from last year altogether amirite?
>> Anonymous
>>495015

Kaman isn't a good fit because the roster is more suitable for an up-tempo style. Plus, he may not be as good as people think he is. Last year he played well, but now that Randolph is here he could take a huge dive on his production similar to when he was partnered up with Brand. His value is only going to drop as the season goes, and if he can be traded for J Rich, then you do the trade without looking back.
