>>302575 What his former teammates were saying after he admitted to doing the dog fighting was that he rarely trained with his teammates in the offseason, and didn't spend anywhere near as much time as most QBs do getting ready for the season at training camp and the preseason. Usually, everyone on the team wouldn't really get to do what most teams already have done and are prepared to do until week 1. One guy (I can't remember who) said that the reason why his receivers fucked up when he threw to them was due to not knowing what Vick was going to do. On top of that, he often had little confidence in his teammates, which both made them hate him, in addition to also lacking confidence in themselves because if he did, who else wouldn't?
Really, the reason why they picked Ryan was because he is (reportedly) one of those guys always obsessively training and practicing, which is the anti-Vick. This makes the teammates feel as though this guy WANTS to play, and this guy wants to be ready at any situation.
I am hoping things go better for the Falcons, but I do admit, it will be at least 2-3 years before they can be a potential playoff team, even in the NFL.
