modern era: Roy or Brodeur, although Hasek could be argued
80's: Fuhr or Smith
70's: Dryden

I feel sorry for Osgood, poor bastard is going to miss the playoffs just because of Hasek, even though hes been keeping for the majority of the season
seems like he got ripped off pretty bad
>> Lambchop's Death Legion
lol Brodeur is breaking all of Roy's records.

Brodeur isn't a contender to me because he has played behind the NHL's best defence for the majority of his career.

It isn't like that: Osgood and Hasek usually trade places on consecutive nights. It's not a 1. Hasek 2. Osgood so much as a 1A 1B type thing. They've played about the same number of games.

But it's true that Hasek usually gets the high priority games. Osgood is actually pretty understanding. He knows he's technically the backup, and he's okay with that.

Anyways, who are you kidding, with as fragile as Hasek is, Osgood has a pretty good chance of seeing playoff action.

Much as I hate to say it, Darth Roy is the best...so far. I think that Broduer could suprass him--he's not locked into the butterfly like Roy was.
And there's always Luongo out there, as well.

i am a gigantic luongo fan but he needs a cup in the next 3 or 4 years to be put up there. this may happen if canucks dump naslund, pick up a real high profile scorer, and their young prospects pick up.

Martin Brodeur, 2nd place Jacques Plante, 3rd place Patricy Roy, then maybe, maybe Hasek.

>3rd place Patricy Roy

GTFO.

Lol Patrick Roy

Has he ever played on a team that couldn't win a game even if they had John Vanbiesbrouck in goal?

>>24172
STFU. Also Brodeur is also even better not only than Patrick Roy, but better than Grant Fuhr. Brodeur has put a crazy franchise with a crazy owner into way moar Stanley Cups than anyone.

Roy- 4 Cups
Marty- 3 Cups

yeah but Roy was a Canadien, back when that was a monopoly on hockey that wasn't from long island or edmonton. How many of them cups occurred in colorado?

Now how many has Brodeur won or at least gotten to the finals from the most retarded hockey place that isn't columbus which didn't exist when he started winning them?

nao keep yr faggery daggery doo 2 yrself.

i cannot believe no one has mentioned this fact

roy = THREE FUCKING CONN SMYTHES thats more than any other player in the history of the nhl. around 150 playoff wins 4 cups

brodeur - has 2 cups if i remember correct with no conn smythes. brodeur stats are padded because he played with some prime defense

doesnt seem like much of an argument to me
roy is king gtfo brodeurfags

brodeur = NONE

You are going to get raped for this by all the losers who think Brodeur is the second coming...but you are correct. Brodeur is great but overrated.
>> Lambchop's Death Legion
>>26160
Brodeur has three cups, by the way. And how is a Conn Smythe a measure of how good a player is?

>The Conn Smythe Trophy is awarded annually to the player judged most valuable to his team

>most valuable to his team

The trophy is comparing certain people to their respective TEAM, not to other goalies.

Both Roy AND Brodeur both have 3 Vezina Trophies.

>>26195

If you can't see the value of a Conn Smythe then you should probably get out of this thread. There is no player in the league who would rather win a Vezina or a Hart than a Conn Smythe.
