>>464183 protip: scoring VOLUME is a bad method of evaluating players - if i played for the seattle usedtoexists and got to shoot 85 times every game, i would probably be able to average 20 points, even in the NBA (that's only 6 halfcourt shots that have to go in!).
if rebounding is so easy, why couldn't durant be bothered to do it more than 4 times a game? durant finished FOURTEENTH on his own team in rebounding rate and rebounds per minute played. He was 5th in assist rate on the supes, among players that had meaningful minutes (he actually finished 7th, but we're not going to include mike wilks or eddie gill).
but sure, the guy who basically averaged a double-double as a rook while finishing 12th in the league in rebounding rate and shooting 50% is WAAAAAAAAY worse than the guy who shot 43% on the season and scored a whole bunch of points by jacking up tons of shots and getting fouls called like a 10-year vet (durant finished 15th in free throws, just in front of manu ginobili).
