Bowen said he's retiring after the offseason because he says he's own and can't get it up anymore.

Udoka would be a solid replacement for Bowen if he works on his open 3s

Kobe still seldom ever goes right at Bowen.

i dont think kobe's ever had a monster game, point-wise, against the spurs either. monster being like 35/40+ points. they seem to know how to not let him explode and humiliate them on his own.

and yet the spurs are still down 2 games. How interesting?

Well, don't forget the pace at which San Antonio plays. Game 1, for example, was 91 possessions, and Bryant had 27 points. The Lakers have been playing games with over 100 possessions in the first two rounds (both Denver and Utah are much faster teams). If LAL has an extra 10-12 possessions in that game, it's not unreasonable that Kobe could have 6-10 more points, especially given how well he was playing in the second half. 8 more points puts him right at 35.

So don't automatically assume that, just because Bryant doesn't seem to be running up 30+ point games, that he's not scoring as much as he did in the previous two series (well, he won't score as much as against Utah, but that's because the Jazz were getting called for fouls left and right). It's largely a factor of the different, deliberate pace at which the Spurs play.
