I think a lot of people would agree with you, and a lot of people take QBs in the first two rounds.
But in general, RBs are more valuable than QBs becauses there fewer of them, and they're more regular.
Aside from Brady (who doesn't count... guy is just a freak), there's 20-25 decent quarterbacks in the NFL, that will take 90ish% of their team's snaps, and pass for 250 yards and a TD a game. There a lot of regularity and depth at QB stat-wise.
But, running back, especially with so many backs in a running committee, theres less backs you can count on for the consistent 150 yards and a TD a game. Theres not a big jump between a first round Peyton Manning (who had 7? games of 0-1 TD passes) and a sixth round Jay Cutler, but there's a huge jump between a first round Adrian Petersen and a sixth Ladell Betts.
