So now that the Big 12 has more teams in the Top 5, Top 10, and Top 25 than the SEC does. Can we all finally agree that this is the best conference in college football? Has the torch been passed this year?

Very much so.
>> Anonymous
It was always better than the SEC.
>> Anonymous
That's why everyones favorite bandwagon team, The Ohio Statebuckeyes, and the dominate team in the Big 12, had their asses STOMPED INTO THE GROUND in the LAST 2 CHAMPIONSHIPS, by, oh yeah UF AND LSU!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

What a good hardly laugh i just had.

Obvious troll.

But, I'll bite anyways. Your logic is flawed and doesn't make any sense. First of all, why mention Ohio State? Secondly, past accomplishments makes the team/conference good forever? As a Dallas Cowboys fan, I can tell you that is not true. Oh god, is that not true.
>> Anonymous
So when the winner of the Big 12 gets it's asshole ripped open by the SEC champion in the NC, will you still be the best conference?
>> Anonymous
>>419757
tOSU isn't in the Big 12. they're in the Big (11) Ten.

Big 12 is a great conference.

Overall, the SEC is a better conference, but it is very close.
>> Awesome Bill from Dawsonville !7KR.e180t.
Big 12's two undefeated teams still have yet to play big games.

Argument invalid.

what was that whole Oklahoma vs. Texas game 2 weeks ago? Was that a small game?

But there are 3 undefeated teams in the Big 12.

>>419768

What makes you so sure a SEC team will make it? Alabama has consistently struggled with beating, and putting away teams. Almost losing to Kentucky and Ole Miss? Letting Georgia come back? It's only a matter of time before they lose.

It'll be (Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State) vs Penn State for the national championship.

The SEC has wont the last two championships when they were not favored to win them. Therefore, the human part of the voting will give a one loss SEC Champ benifit of the doubt and give them the bid to play in the natl championship. Thats why Im so sure an SEC team will make it, and thats why everyone else in this thread has purposely avoided my previous statement when I said the SEC Champ would rape the Big 12 champ.

>>419796

Don't make assumptions or you look just as bad as the assholes who said that OSU was going to Rape the SEC.
>> Sneak !!+y8MDiWrdyT
I think Texas will win out, so they're in the title game.

Alabama has to choke in the SEC, but I see them losing to LSU.

PSU has a fairly tough test against OSU coming up, and then Iowa (never count them out in a big game).
>> BravesFag62 !!gNy6YVXV64J
>>419802
I like the way you think, about Iowa. PSU will probably beat us (yes, i'm a hawkeye fan), but we should keep it close. We have a stout defense front seven with two first-day draftees on the line, and our defensive backs have shown a lot of improvement, even from last year.

It's our offense I'm worried about against PSU.

ps: i'm the bucsfag that wants the bitch in the braves jersey. lets fuck.

Can we just stop talking about how one conferance is better then the other? Seriously you guys aren't close yet but you will get as bad as the SEC if you keep this crap up.

Cheering for an entire conference is a way of saying 'My team sucks, but if I can rationalize to myself that my conference is so fuckawesome its impossible to do well I won't feel so bad.'

Which honestly explains why the SEC does it so much. Mediocrity looks good when you are mired in it week after week. Its not because all teams are good, its because all of them are at the same level middle-of-the-road.

Sagarin rankings: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/sagarin/fbc08.htm

#1 Big 12
#2 Big 10
#3 SEC

razor-thin margin between Big 10/SEC though
>> Anonymous
>>420047
Big10 is no where close to being the second best conference right now. It's a toss up between the BigXII and SEC for first, but the Big10 is a distant third at best.

Eh...this year maybe. The Big 12 South has yet to play a lot of their games (Except Texas - Oklahoma), so we'll see.

damn op your pic looks like a plastic wall clock

First off the reason the SEC is not as high in the rankings is because of the conference play. They lose only to teams within the conference, check any website and look at the conference records. The reason being is that there are so many decent teams in the SEC they hurt each others win and loss records. Secondly, Alabama doesn't put teams away by 70 points because they are not a fucking pass happy team. They actually run the ball, once again check the stats. Its called ball control and clock management, I'll take an undefeated record with close calls than a loss any day. Blowing teams out by 50 every night doesnt guarantee you are always the best team, but i will say this, Texas looks damn good.

1. SEC
2. Big 12 and Big 10 (tie)
3. ACC (That's right faggots)

I wasn't aware losing by 1 point in OT was getting stomped. By SEC logic, that was worth half a win anyway!

SEC's SoS ranks behind the Big 12 despite conference play. Your argument has been invalidated.

O hay guize, remember that time Oklahoma St and their high powered offense were gonna go between the hedges and show Georgia what Big 12 football is all about?? Too bad they found out what SEC football is all about instead - DEFENSE. Your conf should look into that.

Those freshman safeties wore the fuck out of Sam Bradford and Chase Daniel. Have you even watched the fucking games?... figures, you're a Techfag.
And just WHO has Tech played of substance this year? Are they tested?..

By far the most overrated unbeaten team in college football.

They about lost to Nebraska and A&M kept it close.

Btw, shouldn't YOU be worried about choking a third straight to the Aggies?

When you all watch Either Florida or Georgia play Alabama in the SEC championship, wear huggies please, Brix will be shat.

The SEC will finally be laid to rest when Georgia Tech, who opened the season near the bottom ranks of the ACC, defeats Georgia.

Can't fucking wait.

Georgia Tech is going to be pounded on.

Florida will beat Georgia.

Alabama vs. Florida will be interesting.

Whoever wins that will have the win in the BCS NC.

I hope we have a good week of practice ahead of us... or its going to be a rough game...

I hope the SEC enjoys a good ass kicking come BCS time.
The Big XII North is not as good as the Big XII South, So you will experience football like it was MEANT to be played.

BCS here:

Don't worry, our computers will end up putting Ohio State vs. the SEC champ again. Sure the Big 12 is most likely the best conference, but because they are so good, the teams end up beating each other and canceling out their chances of a national title shot. And since all the idiots of the sports world think "UNDEFEATED = BEST" the SEC can continue, along with ESPN of telling everyone they are the best.
>> Anonymous
>>420592

You sure it wasn't USC vs Ohio State?
>> Anonymous
Now i know the Big 12 may have good teams, but to think, that the SEC is NOT a good conference is rediculous. Having won the last 2 National Championships against a good Ohio team should show that the SEC is deffinitly great right now.

Florida beat the best Ohio state team in years.
Florida still has Harvin, Tebow and others from the championship team.

LSU tore them up again, so don't even think of the Big 10 making an appearence for awhile.

Georgia is also a great team,

Alabama is undoubtably the best in the SEC atm, but time will tell with them.

Texas will most likely go to the BCS NC, well deserved, against an SEC undefeated or one loss team. The Big 10, ACC and all others can fuck off, undefeated or not.

Texas has to have a fast defense, Great Special teams to win. Also, without really amazing play calling, SEC defenses pick teams apart. Running the option, screen passes, everything like that is deffinitly needed. 50 yard bombs never work, the secondarys are some of the best. SEC speed is something these other confrences just don't have on defense most of the time.
