NBA Draft Burning Question Anonymous
Why is it that NBA teams would rather grab one and done college players, formally High School players, instead of seasoned college vets. I know there are special cases like Lebron and many big men, but normally the decision irks me.

A player that stands out in my mind is McNamarra from Syracuse. I used to love to watch him play. Then poof, he doesn't get drafted.

what about Drew Nietzel? he's on that mcnamera level.

really its all about if the scouts think that the prospect has an upside. yeah i said it now i sound like Jay Bilas. A lot of teams draft players based on athletiscm with the belief that the players can be taught the skills later on.

You can teach fundamentals but you can't teach athleticism

But if a player is seasoned like McNamara, wouldn't it be easier to fit him into the team's system. He can forego all the 'basics' and win his team some games

McNamarra is in the NBDL.

THERE'S A REASON WHY PLAYERS PASS UP MILLIONS OF DOLLARS TO STAY IN COLLEGE.
it's because they suck
IF you look at the NBA overall first pick compare to the NFL overall first pick, I would take a fucking 1 year and done player, than some faggot who impress scout in the Peach Bowl.

well the reality is players like that don't get drafted they get signed as free agents

Fuck Kevin Love is going to be a bust. I don't know why anyone would pick him.

ummm not if he's some little white dude who can't guard ANYBODY and would only make occasional 3's on the pro level.

you don't need to waste a draft pick on some Matt Maloney-type. there's no demand for that.

I'd rather see a system like baseball has-either don't go to college at all, or go for four years. That way, people like Beasley and Rose wouldn't spend their freshman year waiting to be drafted, but could go right away, which would improve both the NBA and NCAA.

College basketball is about teams, not players. If we allow one-and-done kids to go straight to the NBA, the talent pool will be more even, leading to more parity in college. Players can have long careers and truly play for their school, not for an NBA contract. College basketball has become a waiting room for NBA players instead of a sport in it own right, and changing the rules would fix that.

Yes, because making things more even by having only shitty players in the league is a GREAT idea.
