NFL team Anonymous
I am from england and have realised how great American football is, but to enjoy a sport i have to support a team, as i dont live in the US i cant just support where i live, so i need some way of picking a team, i'm not just gonna pick the best team, tho my favourite position is runningback so are there any commendable teams for running backs?
>> Anonymous
Chargers. Other playoff contending teams that are good but not the best and are good for supporting are the Seahawks and Jets.

what copypasta?
also what is everyone elses favourite team and why?
>> Anonymous
new england patriots, they'll never let you down.

in all seriousness, though, the vikings have a VERY good, young runningback and look promising this year. the raiders also have a potentially very good rookie runningback, but they never look all that promising.

>>119582

The raiders are a bunch of overpaid has-beens.

Think Real Madrid.
>> Anonymous
Why don't you just watch a bunch of games a pick a team that entertains you?
>> Anonymous
watch the games you can, see the teams and how they play, form your own opinions.

i was brought up on sports as a kid, and my teams were born into me by family that were fans.

i never watched epl when i was a kid, but have been watching epl games for 4 years now, and support a few different teams, and enjoy watching all the bought-in talent in the top 4 clubs. i was excited when i saw reading get promoted and do alright the first year, and i also support blackburn.

and yes, i support sundy just cause i have a few friends in england that have to suffer through it

Packers, winter games are amazing. Packer fan cause of Favre but he retired this year. The team is still good though, only other threat is the Vikings who have a really good RB btw.

the Packers are the 3rd biggest bandwagon team outside of the Cowboys and Pats. Stop trying to recruit more followers, facist.

OP:

For the time being, you should just bandwagon one of the top three teams in the NFL right now until the middle of the season when you can learn more about the other teams. Be a New England or San Diego fan until week 8. By then, you can probally scope out some stats and see some running backs in action.

And right now, San Diego has the best RB in the league. New Orleans has a young and promising RB (But needs more time to develop). Minnesota has a nice up and comming RB.

I'm surprised to hear an Euro wanting to support a team with good RB. Anyone new to NFL usually looks for the team that throws the ball all day long.

for a good running game with up and coming team, support the Jacksonville Jaguars.

lol no

How are the Jags "up and coming"? They've been at the same level for the past few seasons.

Good suggestion, though.

Support NE. your from England it sounds cool. Also thier RB Maroney was coming off a Shoulder injury last season. this year he is 100%.

>but to enjoy a sport i have to support a team

Never understood this line of thinking

how about instead of being cliche and bandwagony you root for a team who gets no respect, or isn't as full of douchebags and cheaters

the dolphins could use as many fans as they can get at this point. or, steeler nation is always looking for a few good men to root against the Brownies.

New England just lost the Superbowl this is the best opportunity to jump on the bandwagon before it leaves the station.

As far as "running" teams go, most have been mentioned.

San Diego - currently home to LaDanien Tomlinson, single season TD record holder and most "complete" back in NFL. However, SD just can't seem to manage any consistancy or live up to expectations.

Minnesota - Adrian Peterson aka "Purple Jesus", and Steve "I made Shaun Alexander good" Hutchinson. They'll either take the NFC by storm or just become the Chargers of the NFC.

Pittsburgh - Historically, a run-based, ball-control offense. Unfortunately, their new Offensive Coordinator was the first to nominate Ben Roethlisberger to the "Fuck It, I'm Goin' Deep" fanclub. Their RB, Willie Parker, broke his leg last season, and they face one of the toughest schedules this season.

Jacksonville - They beat the snot out of the #1 ranked run defense not once, but *twice* last season. Unfortunately, they're stuck in the Colts' and Patriots' shadow.

Washington - Clinton Portis puts up great numbers, however, the team finds itself in the most competitive division in the NFL.

Baltimore - They've had no passing offense for so long, they're basically a running team. Think Pittsburgh with a losing record.

Denver - Another traditonally running-based team. About the same level as Atlanta.

Atlanta - Consistantly runs well, but doesn't do much else besides that.

San Fransisco - Great running back in Frank Gore, but he gets no help from anyone else on his team. Underdog of underdog teams.

Jags are a good choice if you want to support a good team and don't wanna be seen as a bandwagoner. MJD is a fucking beast, as is Fred Taylor, when he's healthy.

hardcore Detroit Lions fan, because I'm from Michigan, but if you support this team you will be very heartbroken because of all the shit we go through.
>> Anonymous
>>120126

The Rams would actually fit what OP wants since they've got Steven Jackson who is an absolute beast.

If you like power runners, then you should go with the Chiefs (Larry Johnson) or the Rams (SJax).

The vikings, raiders, and steelers will be the best overall rushing teams this season. chargers and jaguars will be right up there as well
>> Anonymous
>>120166
I think Larry will have an unbelievable year again. his foot is good to go, his line a upgraded, and the chiefs have good young talent.

>>120165

Once they start winning though, it will be awesome.

Then the bandwagoners will ruin it.

Brownsfag here, I am just waiting..if they play as good as they look

I don't think we're gonna see a winning season until Millen is out, which if he's been here this long, we're still gonna be waiting awhile, especially with green bay and the rising vikings in our division. it's just another one of those decades. I wish we could bring back the 90's....

The raiders were a top 5 rushing team last season, and will obviously be better with McFadden

You won't see a winning season again until you stop watching the Lions and the Ford Family is forced to sell the team

I don't think you know what you're talking about
>> Anonymous
>>120194
Who are you, William Clay Ford?

As long as money keeps coming in, the management will keep mismanaging the team like they've done since 1964. The Lions are a losing organization, and like the Cardinals, the problem starts at the top with the owners.

Michael Vick the greatest rush QB in the Prison Football League.

American Football should have a round robin schedule similar to the *real* football leagues. Maybe like having one team play every team, home and away, in its conference. That would make each team play 30 games then have the top 4 teams from each division play in a playoff.

Support the Bengals, we're about to lose Chad.
>> Anonymous
I'm from England as well and I came to realize that American's Football owns our Soccer. In fact after watching Football I can say with certainty that Football > Soccer.
>> Anonymous
I'd say root for the Jacksonville Jags, they have potential to be a title team in the next few years, but still have a small fanbase, so they arent a bandwagon team. They have 2 solid RBs in Taylor and MJD. Oh, btw, $50 that purple jesus doesnt last 1/2 the season before the injuries start kicking in.

>we're about to lose chad
where you think they will send that dumb loudmouth nigger? he's the reason people want the bengals to lose
>> PhilKenSebben !qNgkjhpu0A

That would never work. The players are pretty damn beat up after the current season format.
>> Anonymous
The Rams. Pretty bad team last year, but a damn good RB. Work horse of the team and, when given any shred of a supporting cast, could lead the team to 7+ wins.
>> PhilKenSebben !qNgkjhpu0A

The Rams MY MORTAL ENEMY. 3 years since they have beaten Seattle!

Bengals fan here, I hope we send him to the Cowboys or the Dolphins. Imagine him + TO + Pacman. The Dolphins are the second best option because then he'll be even more pissed. He wants to go to a winning team. So fuck his ass send him to the fish.

Same Bengalsfag, Seattle beat us last year, ending any momentum we had started to get rolling after beating Shittsburg :( Bastards.

OP you can be a Dolphinfag.

Miami Dolphins have a small, but respectable following in London. They've played @ Wembley...

And... they suck, so you won't be a glory hunter. But they'll be good in a couple of years because Bill Parcels is in charge.

And if you like RBs... they've got two of the best in Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams.
