hello /sp/, I am new to football. I had a question about the ACC. will Georgia Tech be the Coastal Division winner if they beat Miami, or do the other teams still have a chance? I ask because Miami is their last conference game, while the other teams seems to have another game as well.

for Tech to win the coastal, they have to beat Miami and then Virginia, Virginia Tech, and UNC all have to lose one of their remaining games

Im a big tech fan so I don;t know the other scenarios.

what if some of them don't lose? Wouldn't it be a tie?

Georgia Tech looses the tie breaker scenarios with Virginia, Virginia Tech, and UNC because they lost to all of them.

Damn. Is there any hope?

The Atlantic and the Coastal. Seriously: WTF?
Why the fuck didn't they just call it the ACC North and the ACC South?
North: BC, Maryland, VT, UVA, UNC, Duke
South: Miami, FSU, GT, Clemson, Wake, NC State
That would actually make some sense.

As a condition to get Miami and Virginia Tech to leave the Big East and join the ACC, Miami and Florida State had to be separated to give those teams a better chance of getting to play each other in the ACC Championship game.

So, Tech has to beat Miami and North Carolina, Virginia Tech, and Virginia have to lose for GT to have any hope?

Miracles can happen.

I am really feeling for it this year and hoping for it. It would really bring justice GT fans and alumni who haven't seen a win in seven god damn years. Do you know what it feels like getting your undergraduate and graduate degree there and never experience a win against that redneck school?

Also, would shut up "SEC IS BEST CONFERENCE EVERY OTHER CONFERENCE SUCKS" fags.

They didn't have to do much arm twisting to get the ACC to agree to that one. It wasn't really a "condition", it was what the ACC was hoping for. That's why the put the title game in Florida. They were planning on frequent Miami-FSU title games.

Don't worry, that will happen when USC steamrolls Florida or Alabama in the Sugar Bowl.

Uh, maybe you missed the score, but Florida already steamrolled USC 56-6 last Saturday.

USC isn't going to the Sugar Bowl. They'll probably be in the Outback Bowl against a Big-10 school.
