UGGLA!!!!!!!!

I'm going with the Mets on this one. They have the best pitcher in baseball, plus Jose Reyes is awesome.
>> Sneak !!+y8MDiWrdyT
Unless the Braves, Mets, or Philles do something....

...yeah, they'll win the NL East.

Let's see....

Willie will be fired before the season is over and I think you mean Reyes is overrated.

I love going to Marlins games. Even at a packed house, the stadium looks half empty, because most of the seats are football seats...

Can't wait for the new downtown baseball stadium, though

The Mets paid me a shitfuck ton of money, I'll pitch you to 1st place......I hope.

Let's just hope I don't see any HRs.

not a mets fan but if anyone bothered to actually follow baseball for the past 5 years they'd know this is par for the course from santana. he's a fly ball pitcher that gives up a lot of homeruns even in his cy young years
>> Anonymous
>>112203
oh and as a bravesfag i'd have to say the marlins scare me way worse than the phils or the mets. the phils have a good team obviously but man their pitching is terrible and appears twice as bad because of their tiny ass park.
>> Anonymous
>>112203
Maybe you need to look closer at the numbers. His HR count has been on the rise, more so than usual.

they're on the rise as you say because Cleveland, Chicago and Detroit all improved while he was with the Twins. And it's too early to say anything about what he's done this year.

The new Marlins stadium is set to open in 2011. They're just finishing tearing down the giant monstrosity that is the Orange Bowl (sad to see it go, but it was obsolete and taking up space) so that they could get crackin' on the Marlins stadium.

It will only seat 37,000, making it the second smallest ballpark in pro baseball. But it will also have a retractable roof, so Florida's frequent problem of rained out games won't be an issue anymore.

And to think the Marlins were considering moving to San Antonio....HAHAHAHA....I don't think so. South Florida baseball is here to stay, baby!

Also, Marlins are taking NL East. Sorry Metsfags and Bravesfags.

Sadly, most Marlins crowds look like this:

I'll probably go to that stadium once. Since the fucking thing is deep in Dade County and traffic is going to be a massive bleeding AIDS infected cunt.
>> Anonymous
>>112380

Its actually literally a stone's throw from the Dade-Broward county line.

When you're on the Turnpike going north, passing the Dade-Broward line, you see the stadium in the horizon to the north--oddly, the stadium is in Dade county. WTF

>>112199

Different guy, but it will be open in 2011. See there are Marlin fans!

Nice to see Marlinsfags here :)

I'm talking about the new stadium. Getting to Dolphins stadium from where I live is very easy. But getting down to where the Orange bowl was....it's not going to be easy.
>> Anonymous
>>112404
I'm not even a Marlin fan. I love baseball that much that I'll go see them playing whoever the fuck just because I want to.
>> Anonymous
>>112407

Oh my bad.

Just take 95 south and 836 west, or Turnpike South to 836 East. It can't be that hard...besides finding parking.

I used to go to Canes games at the Orange Bowl. Parking was a fuckshit, houses around the Bowl would charge $10 to park in their empty lots. Then I'd forget where my car was and stuff....aaaaagh

>>112407

Sucks for you, but great for me and the Marlins. Part of the reason why there's so little baseball tradition is the distance from Miami to the stadium.

Broward is a place people move to.

Dade is a place people are from.
>> Anonymous
>>112418

Seconded.

Moving to a stadium deep in Broward is what killed the Panthers. At the downtown Miami Arena, they'd have frequent sellouts and everybody from the city loved hockey. Nowadays, you can't even give away Panthers tickets because nobody wants to go all the way to fucking Broward. Oh, and the Panthers suck now.
>> Anonymous
>>112418
They should have built it in Broward.

Marlins take NL East, NL pennant, and a third World title.

There, I said it, motherfuckers.

Do you even have a frame of reference?
>> Anonymous
>>112428
Doesn't matter, worst fans in the league.
>> Anonymous
>>112443

What?

No, we have a good fanbase down here in South Florida. I mean, our stadium only looks empty most of the time because ITS NOT BUILT FOR FUCKING BASEBALL, HALF OF THE SEATS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE EMPTY. Other than that, good season or bad, plenty of people still watch Marlins games on TV and still show up to Dolphin Stadium wearing Teal to cheer on the Fish.

You lose. Go back to Tampa.
>> Anonymous
>>112451
Still average the lowest attendance in the league. It doesn't matter if the Stadium was built for football 15,000 people looks like shit in any pro stadium.

Make the last season at Shea a memorable one.

Bring home the NL East title.
>> Anonymous
>>112461

Funny, because whenever I go to a Marlins game, attendance is usually around 30,000-35,000.

Then again, I usually go to weekend games...
