Everyone in the MLB loves Pedroia though because he's too short to take seriously, they just laugh at him

No cause he doesn't know how to play team baseball its all about the money to him he proved that last year when he opted out of the final year of his contract

I'm a sportsfan and I hate fags who come up with terrible nicknames for players

Soxfag. I hate A-Rod the most, the reasons have been stated in the thread already, no need to go into them.

Chill out, dude. Papelbon wanted to close the All-Star game, because, honestly, what closer in their right mind would ever say, "No, I don't want to close the All-Star Game"? He's a competitor, just like Mo is (on a related note, Rivera is one of my favorite players ever in MLB, despite how many times he fucked the Sox in his years on the Yankees). He went on to say that even though his competitive spirit made him want to be the guy, it was Mo's stadium, and so Mo should do it.

Trust me, if the roles were reversed, I'm sure Mo would have said something similar, because that's just the way those guys are.

>to say that even though his competitive spirit made him want to be the guy, it was Mo's stadium, and so Mo should do it.

Only because the whole MLB told him how much of a piece of shit he is for even thinking that.

>I'm sure Mo would have said something similar

God, no. Mo has class, unlike the Red Sox and there fans.

Actually, he said that in the same sentence in the original interview, the New York papers simply left out that part of it to make him look bad.

And give it a rest about classlessness in fans. Every team has fans that are assholes, and every team has players that are assholes (Curt Schilling? jesus fucking balls I wish that guy would just shut the fuck up and pitch). Calling one team's fans more classless than another is completely missing the point.

Soxfag. I hate gayrod and Giambi. Jeter is a cock too. They're all over-rated cock sores. And Giambi is a juicer so he can eat a dick.

Thats not true at all.

Btw, Sox fans are more obnoxious then any other fan base. Yankees are a close second.

NYCfag here. You're really naive if you think the rags here didn't do that in order to brew a shitstorm and sell papers.

He's batting .315 on the road and .340 in Fenway. Considering most players tend to hit better at home, he's not that different then most people.

And as a Soxfag, I hate Jeter, however I don't hate him becuase I'm from Boston, I hate him because of how horriffically overrated his defense is. His offense (up until this year) has always been great for a Shortstop, but his defense is so bad that he is mearly above average overall. But not only does that get ignored, he wins gold gloves for it.

Atleast both those teams have something to be cocky about. Perhaps you forgot Philly existed. They are bigger assholes, and don't even deserve it.

Just recently the Sux fags passed the yankfags for most annoying and most arrogant, yankfags are still on their heels however.

Here's the first part of the quote from a NY newspaper:
"If I was managing the team, I would close," Papelbon said. "I'm not managing the team, so it don't matter."

Here's the rest of the quote that they left off:
"I'm making a statement right now, saying I don't want it, I want [Rivera] to have it. I said all that earlier, but that's the way I feel about it," Papelbon said.

"This is what I think, of course I want to close the game out. I wouldn't be Jonathan Papelbon if I didn't want to close the game out," he said. "But at the same time, there's also things within this game I have to understand and people have to understand. It doesn't always work out that way.

"I feel I owe a lot to this game and that's one of the things I owe to this game, to let an elder statesman go ahead of me."
