All-Star futures game. I didn't realize Gamel was raking it at .375. Wish the Injuns could have gotten him AND Laporta.

Pick related, it's Laporta.

LaPorta is one ugly motherfucker.

Gamel and Escobar are the future. We don't need LaPorta, which is why we sent him off in the first place. He'll be good in Cleveland, but here in Milwaukee we alreay have a fantastic LF in Ryan Braun.

LaPorta will produce better numbers than Braun. Braun has more versatility in the field but LaPorta is a better hitter.

But yeah, Gamel is a beast.

The Brewers have the best farm system in the MLB as well as Ryan Braun locked up for 7 years, Yovani Gallardo, JJ Hardy, Manny Parra, and hopefully Corey Hart and Prince Fielder in similar contracts. They have a brighter future than probably 25 or so other teams.

I used to think this was bad but the year he's having now combined with his weight means he shouldn't be too fucking picky.

It takes pitching, not just HIT HIT HIT HIT HIT. Parra is great, sure. Gallardo has a future. But past that, what? Sheets is gone and Sabathia will be too. You don't have the money for much else.

Fielder is a Boras client, he's already a Yankee or Red Sox.

you can win with great hitting and no pitching, just look at the Rangers for the past 15 years

oh wait...

Prince Fielder's going to be in Detroit. You guys keep on forgetting that the Tigers are owned by a guy who runs Ceaser's Pizza's.

Next year's starting rotation is full of 23-25 year olds. Parra, Gallardo, Villanueva, McClung, and Suppan at the end. That rotation looks pretty solid to me. Just as good as Boston this year or Tampa Bay.

Young does not mean good.

Look at Sowers, Miller, in Cleveland. Highly touted young arms who failed to deliver. Suppan is pretty shitty.

I'm just saying, if you're having an issue winning the division with Sheets, you're gonna have an issue winning the division without Sheets.

Gallardo and Parra next year have a good chance at being the Sabathia and Sheets of this year. McClung will be good after he goes through AAA again since he needs it a lot right now, and Suppan is a veteran who can be spotty but usually gets the job done. I believe there will be very little dropoff next year in the starting rotation thanks to Gallardo, who is an absolute stud, coming back from injury.

Parra and Gallarado are nowhere near as good as Sheets or Sabathia

Parra is 8-3 with an ERA at 3.3 and Gallardo went 10-3 last year in his first year in the bigs. There will be some dropoff but it shouldn't kill the team like you people say.
