There was a decent NY Times article on this. There are documents from previous years gymnastics events that listed her as being 12 in 2006 and 13 in 2007. That would make her 14 in 2008. Those weren't passports though, they were information booklets.
Regardless, the real issue is China has done this before (2000 in Sydney, the chinese gymnast that won gold admitted to being 14) and nothing was done. Nothing will be done this time even if they come out and admit it like was done before.
So quit whining, they do this shit every time. They put their top gymnasts into the events, no matter their age. The gov't would rather have things like propaganda of a girl winning a gold medal than playing by the rules.
The only people I feel for are the ones that follow the rules and get screwed out of a medal, because someone else cheats.
