Hey /sp/, why is it that when an NFL match is played in London, the stadium is at max capacity, but when the premiership comes to America for a match or two, they fill half a stadium?
>> Anonymous
Because if we wanna see brits prance around like little faggots, we can just turn on the BBC if we have satellite. Saves money

Because Eurofags love football and just cant admit that its a far superior sport to soccer

bringing your shitty game to shitty second tier stadiums and filling them to capacity is sure something to brag about.

He's talking about the international series, it was a sellout at wembely, and will be a sellout this year too.

NFL Europe failed because we dont want our own NFL leauges, we just want to watch the REAL NFL.

Either you're an amerifag, or the only NFL fan outside the USA

So you can admit that the NFL is a very prestigious league, probably more so than the premiership?
>> Anonymous
Never been an EPL match in America, 39th match was an awful idea. British people would be really pissed if they move league/FA cup games, yanks wouldn't really want to watch an FA 4th round with Bury Vs United, or Hereford Vs Arsenal. Surely friendlies are enough, but I dunno.

As far as the NHL/NFL that was over last year, I'd have quite liked to have seem the hockey as the standard in the EIHL is shite. NFL I don't care too much for but if I lived around London and someone give me a ticket I'd go check it out. Still probably wouldn't follow it much, I imagine this happened a lot.. As I imagine it would if Widness/Warrington had some random rugby league match in New York or Texas.

Meanwhile, the NFL match in London was pretty much dud as far as players, coaches, and the league is concerned.

Europians can't play REAL football only if their a kicker or a punter.

I support leeds, so the premiership dosent mean shit to me, i enjoy "soccer" and have since i was kid, but i honestly enjoy the NFL more, it sounds wierd, but its a sport made for TV in the way its presented.

Saw miami/new york@ embely last year and i cant wai to see new orleans/san diego this year

>On June 29, 2007, the NFL announced NFL Europa would immediately cease operations.

nobody gave a shit, sorry amerifags

I was in london last year when this match was played, a good percentage of those who went were american tourists. Also, there has never been a premiership match played in america. Dozens of european football teams play meaningless exhibition matches in America each summer, they do a pretty decent trade. Only reason the NFL game sold out was because it was the ONLY american football game being played in Europe that year.

Any Eurofags who won't admit that NFL has a large following over there is deluding themselves. Ever heard of the North American Sports Network? Sellouts in 40 minutes for a DOLPHINS game at Wembley Stadium? I go to this forum where people cap and torrent NFL games so Eurofags can watch them.

eurofags <3 ameriball

Fact, The NFL puts one game over there a year (and that's only recent). No EPL regular season match has taken place on U.S. Soil. Many prelims take place here, and some of them sell out. These are games that don't even matter.

Eurofag here. Nope, never heard of north american sports network. I genuinely don't think 99% of people here could name a single american football player, past or present. If you asked someone here to name an american football team you'd probably get a blank stare or a wild guess at "the yankees?".

Padball gets NO coverage here, there's no mention of it on sports shows and I don't even know of any satellite stations which show it. Face it, football is the world game, padball isn't.

Even ignorant americunts are aware of Beckham, Zidane, Ronaldo, etc whereas nobody in Europe knows any american football players.

Britfag here. NFL was advertised on Sky (FoxTel?) a few weeks ago, but before that I think it was on channel 5 with near enough every American sport. There is a North American sports channel but it's a channel you have to pay for on top of television licence, and Sky package, if you even have Sky. I'm sorry I don't know a single person who subscribes to it.

In terms of popularity for American sports in Europe it goes: NBA > NHL > NBL > NFL

It's Longest Yard, it's the original Mean Machine. Adam Sandler did a remake, it was awful.
