Since the baseball season is almost over (Just need this postseason to end), lets talk about how your team will fair out in the offseason and look at how they may do next year.

CC is just a fag who would rather play in a city full of beaners. But money talks and we have more than you.

Fuck you OP. Fuck you.

But in all seriousness, yeah the Royals will suck again. Especially after they decide they want to trade away Soria for more "prospects".

The Cardinals will keep Tony and Duncan.
If they're smart they'll fix the infield, they might.
If they're wiser, they'll fix the pitching, they won't. We'll hope that Carpenter will recover for the start of '09, he will, but will injure himself in his third start. But to be honest this is all fine, all we need is a fix for the closers, which I think we will, so I expect to see Wild Card or Division champs since all the Cubs rookies will have killed themselves, leaving the division up in the air.

He's got a point.

He'll fail in NY, but he'll be rich.

The Tigers will find a real catcher and move Inge back to third. Sheffield will be sent packing and Guillen will become the DH (unless he gets bionic knees). We might trade Magglio, but the only thing we need is pitching. Edgar Renteria... who cares? We've got enough players who can out play him for a fraction of the cost.

Nate Robertson and Dontrelle Willis will fight for our amusement in some sort of thunderdome. Zumaya will injure himself in a freak toast accident.

Of course we have first dibs because

1) Both teams have new stadiums this year
2) It's New York and everyone knows LA is a shithole
3) Dodgers are a byproduct of New York excellence (Angels don't count)

Mussina isn't going to St. Louis, are you insane?
He'll either retire, or stay with the Yankees for one more year.

Ugh, that would be the worst fucking Mets offseason in a long time. Thank god Omar isn't that retarded.

Mets go after Fuentes or Cordero. Turnbow will be a worst case scenario signing. Fuck K-Rod. He'll blow up the rest of the bullpen and leave Smith and Parnell in there.

Murphy will be moved to second base unless he's an absolute butcher on defense in the arizona league. Mets will sign either Lowe or Garland and let Perez and his faggot agent Boras bonk each other into the sunset.

Mets will be a contender in the Manny sweepstakes but will get beaten out, will have to settle for someone like Randy Winn or Raul Ibanez.

Mussina was talking at the end of the season like he'll retire and Cashman or Girardi said he think he'll retire

i'd be a little worried about k-rod's arm with all that work

The A's will trade EVERYFUCKINGBODY FOR PROSPECTS

yeah but you do moneyball very well

...which has kept us competitive this decade, but the closest it's gotten us to the World Series is getting swept by the Tigers in the ALCS in 2006.

yeah you were really the best earlier this decade/late 90s when you constantly met the Yankees in the ALDS and couldn't get by them, but at least you are not some epicfail like the Pirates

get a decent bat in there and maybe steal CC from someone if you're willing to spend $ and that might help, but i don't know your situation 100% of if that GM you had back in those good moneyball days is still with you

Yankeesfag here and I agree, reluctantly. I think if we want to be strong again we have to take a season or two and continue to get younger while getting guys like Hughes and Kennedy time in to develop in the bigs. NO MORE FUCKING GIAMBIS/PAVANOS/BROWNS. We need more position players in our farm honestly.

What does /sp/ think of the Jays next year?

Iawtc. 16 eligible arbitration players, though. I say Marlins keep Cantu, Uggla, Willingham, Ross, Josh Johnson, Nolasco, and Joe Nelson

Gaby Sanchez and Maybin have looked amazing. Their 1-4 pitchers are the best in baseball (Nolasco, Johnson, Volestad, Anibel Sanchez).

And that new stadium will be started soon.

Rockies will get rid of Holliday and Atkins, get absolutely raped on both deals, and finish dead last in the NL West, making their fall from last year's NL Championship complete.

I hate being a fan of this team.
