The result should be obvious seeing what Germany did against Portugal and Turkey.

3-2 for the germans.

Spain will play better, will dominate the game and the germans will only have three occassions to score. And for some dumb reason Casillas won't be where he's supposed to be, regardless of how godly he is as a goalkeeper.

Also, get Kahn back.
I don't care if he's 40 and retired he's still better than Lehmann. Heck, Michael Schumacher is better than Lehmann and he was a formula 1 racer.

Germany is always superior.

They can have 10 goals against them and by some miracle they'll turn the game around.

The only exception to this is when they play against Brazil or an East European country.

I dunno. The Spaniards are a little overconfident after they assraped Russia the second time now. Germany did some really crappy games this EC, but also a few excellent ones (Poland, Portugal). My guess is that Germany will -because they are the underdogs now- play the game of their lifes and will win 2-1, due to their near 100% goal efficiency.

Oh before anyone yells NAZI: I'm from Winland.

>> Anonymous

Portugal was a half dozen star players who had no idea to play together and no team chemistry. They weren't very good, and Germany barely beat them, just like they barely beat turkey, just like they barely beat Croatia. If they play the same football they have been so far and win, it will a huge detriment to the game. It would the second worst thing that could happen in this tournament after the Italians winning.

>> Anonymous

And you actually watched EURO 2008? In your favor I assume that you are Spanish and afraid of the finals, as you should be.

The Germans have nothing to lose. That's when they play their best football. They have a nearly perfect goal efficency and they are only beaten when sitting on the bus. Meaning they can come back anytime. They played like crap against Turkey, but won anyway. Luck? No Sir. Any team can win when it runs on peak efficency. The real trademark of a world class team is to win when nothing comes together.Oh and accusing Germany of playing like Italy: The Germans scored 10 goals so far and the Italians 3 (penalty doesn't count).

I don't say Germany is bound to win, but you shouldn't underestimate them.

>Germany only won these last 2 game due to an almost perfect shots on goal/goal ratio.

It's called efficiency. If they only need three/four shots to score three goals, that's perfectly okay.

Soccer is about shooting goals, the designated way to win any game of it. It isn't won by looking nice or performing fancy tricks.
>> Anonymous
Fabregas was amazing against Russia. And now that Villa is injured (poor guy) Fabregas is sure to get the call. Who knows, Aragones might deploy him in that sort of Gerrard position behind Torres, so that Nando can feel more comfortable and possibly score. I still have doubts about Fabregas playing there though.
>> Anonymous
>>194027
Efficiency? No, that's retarded. Efficency is winning 3-0, not barely squeezing out a win 3-2 AGAINST A TURKISH RESERVE SQUAD. For fucks sake, they were missing their first goal keeper. This is the opposite of efficiency, and that's why I'm a bit cautious to throw Germany's name out there, as opposed to spain who have been able to get those 3-0 wins.

Ballack isn't even close to as good as Fabregas this tournament. Overall, he's much better. But the only thing he's done this whole tournament is score on 2 dead balls. Completely ineffectual as in the center of the park and Marco Senna will quiet him just like he did Del Piero and Arshavin.

Senna has been Spain's man of the tournament.

Xavi and Iniesta pass the ball sideways all game and wait for something lucky to happen, Silva takes shots from 90 yards out, and Torres just sucks with the national team. Fabregas isn't as good a passer as Xavi or Iniesta, but at least he'll try something.

I predict 1-1, goals from Cesc and Klose. Germany wins on penalties (german luck > casillas skill)

agree with you (even as a germanfag here)

But the truth will be that this match will be totaly equal. Why? Here some facts which are true even if u dont support any of the two teams:
- the match against crotia was a fucking stupid mind problem of the german players. After the poland match they thought thye will be totaly save in the quarterfinals, and so was their play > a fucking bullshit play because they thought they have nothing to do anymore.
- the match against austria was also a mind problem. After we germans lost against crotia we had a chance to lose against the weakest team in the tornament (fifa rankings) and bust out because we had in mind that we were kicked out in the EC 2000 and 2004 before even surving first 3 matches. So this was also the mind problem the players had > just dont lose again before reaching the quarterfinals. Thats why it was such a "close" match with only 1 goal. It was a "save way reaching the quarterfinals" play (unfortunately for the viewer, i know).
- so after we got into the quarterfinals the minds of the player were totaly free without presure because nobody would have cried if germany would have lost against portugal. And thats why we could crush the portugal dudes. (the 3 - (2) was just a present to build up a little hope for them ;) )
- the match against turkey was a little tricky one. Here again everyone expected that germany had to win against this B-team of the turkeys. So it became again a mind problem like the match against croatia. But the turkeys were the fucking cockroachs of this tournament, u thought they were dead but they came again from nowhere. And because they were so unpredictable it was really hard to play against them.

So what i want to say here is, if the german players go out with a good attitude for the match, spain will really have probems to beat this team because every team will have problems if the middlefield is closed.

I also wanted to say that every german player wanted to have the spanish dudes in the final. Why u ask they wanted them? Because spain is more predictable than russia and thats what i think too. If russia would been in the finals it would again became a stupid attitude problem again and we could/would see a match like in the matches against croatia or austria again.

To sum it up: the keypoint to win the match against germany will be what attitude we will have. If we have the attitude like against portugal i see us a little ahead for the cup (because i expect the constant spanish team they used to be till now) even if ballack has a injury now and cant play. But if the german player lack only a little bit of concentration spain will win the cup for sure. SO IT IS 50/50 % for this final. Both teams can win this pot.

Personally i just want to see a good match and even if i think spain will have the cup, i DO believe we could see a second portugal match again ;)
Sidenote: if still anyone think that spain will kickass germany, here some true facts about the spanish dudes:
-even if spain ruled the first 3 games in the first round, this means absolutly nothing. Netherland and portagal were kicked out in the quarter finals even if they dominated their groups. Same goes for croatia.
-And like some dudes before me said, spains match against italy was also a weak one. Italy was never really strong in this tournament but with a little luck they could even kicked out spain.
-Same goes for russia. Dont let u blend with the result of 3 : 0 against a russin team which was somehow very weak against sapin (again). There was nothing seen from them like they kickassed the netherland dudes. They just gave up after the 2 : 0. Thats why lots of people think spain is undefeatable.

Spain won because Senna shut down Arshavin, it's that simple. Russia was only dangerous when Arshavin got the ball. The Netherlands couldn't respond because they were always on the back foot because Arshavin was bossing the area just in front of their 18.

It's simple really. Senna man marks Ballack (if he plays) and if he does his job, their entire midfield game is off and it's up to dead balls (which casillas is awesome at) If Spain shows up, it won't even be close.

u think germany is an one man team? Than be
prepaired for a surprise.

But ur right what u said about Arshavin. The russians couldnt do a shit with him because he wasnt present on this day.

germany doesn't stand a chance. you can overcome the fact that 90% of your players are worse than your rivals' -which is the case- by being a solid team, by having a great coach, etc. with two key positions covered with superstars -see real's casillas+ronaldo+9guys days- you could even have a chance to beat your opponent if they have a bad day
germany has ballack, some decent but not good enough players and a bunch of shitty ones. löw is a joke. no teamplay a la 04 greece at all. lehmann's definitely not a superstar. no*fucking*chance

I predict 2-0 victory for Spain.

Germany has a tendency to do that too. Apparently our team forgot to play when facing those dirty Italians in the last World Cup.

Spain in a 3-2 victory, Germany has a large defense, but the Spanish offensive is quick more so than they are powerful. M&M get burned in the backfield and with Lahm pushing up for attacking support they get left high and dry with Lehman to glady butterhands any shot put on goal.

And you expect Germany to beat Casillas twice, how?

Spain should win: their players and coach are technically far superior to anyone Germany has got. Thing is, when Germany are on form they can buck quite a lot of technical superiority. Take the Portugal game for example: Portugal were one of the favorites to win, yet their (superior) team was dominated by the on-form Pigclimber and his magic sparkly boots. And Portugal might not have the technical talent of Spain, but there's no real reason it couldn't happen again.

Of course, if Ballack doesn't play, the psychological effect could kill Germany before they even kick off. Never saw why; he really isn't a particularly good player. I remember when he was second-string at Bayer Leverkusen; when he was fielded in a group-stage Champions League match, I even remember Motson (I think) being all, "Oh, perhaps that wasn't the best of, uh, strategic decisions there...after all, Ballack's not exactly the most experienced player and what Leverkusen need now is an addition, uh, an influx of creative talent." He's not great, but owing to the fact that German teams have been without any talented midfielders since Rudi Voeller, he's obtained considerable fame. And the loss of the captain might be a dangerous thing anyway.

If Germany get a goal early (from a set-piece no doubt) I think they could ride it out 1-0. If Spain score in the first half at all, it's over for them. 3-0 or maybe 3-1 at the very best.

2-0 Spain.
Goals to Torres and Xavi.

I belive that Spain will win this one, but it will be a hard match.
Other thing that will happen is that Germany will score at least one goal of head.

2-1 for Spain

Gerfag here

I predict a similar match as Russia - Spain. Spain will wear us out in the first half by passing the ball around quickly. eventually we'll get tired and they will score 2 goals

underage b&

leave beside you opinion of Ballack. I respect that one, though i believe he is one of the best players worldwide. i could tell you why i think so, but that is nor the reason of my post.

the reason of my post is, that you don't have any clue about german football from lets say roughly 2000. so grow up, learn you history andthen think again about what you wrote...

Germany 27 - 10 Spain
Spain get's a lucky defensive TD and an amazing 52 yd FG, but can't manage much offensively. Germany tears'em up for 200 yards on the ground and 4 TDs but miss an extra point because they're Nazis.

if it goes to penalties, Lehmann's spot kick record will come in to play.

Germans 3-2 either in the last 10-15 minutes or in extra time.

Germany 3 - Podolski, Schweinsteiger, Klose
Spain 2 - Silva, Fabregas

Due to their incrdible goal effiecency Germany wins. They just need to shoot once or twice and the thing is in. The Spaniards on the other hand won't have the space for their short passes in midfield and they need way more goal shots, which they won't get this time.
>> Anonymous
>I predict 1-1, goals from Cesc and Klose. Germany wins on penalties (german luck > casillas skill)

They win every penalty, but that's not due to luck but to mentality. They KNOW they never lost an important penalty since 1976 and Lehman can catch penalties at least as good as Casillas.
