I'm a little confused /sp/.

All the headlines, and even the official Euro 2008 website say that the 4th quarter is guaranteed to be Italy vs. Spain. Now don't get me wrong, I'm a Spanish supporter, so I'm not complaining, but am I right in saying that everything isn't yet confirmed?

I mean, if Greece beat Spain by 1, and Sweden win by 3 goals, or vice-versa, then Sweden would win the group with a superior goal difference, would they not?

It doesn't really bother me, and I know it's practically inconceivable, but I just think the official site shouldn't advertise their quarter finals until everything is confirmed. Or am i missing something here?

Yeah, the fact that you think it's possible for Greece to score a goal

Tie-breaking criteria
1. Number of points earned in matches between the teams in question

So since Spain has won against both Russia and Sweden, they are the first of their group, no matter what.

Head to head > goal difference

That makes good sense actually. I was under the impression that goal difference was the first criteria, thanks for clearing that up.
