We need people to start throwing plush octopi onto the ice. Fuck the NHL imposing fines on Al.
>> Anonymous
It shouldn't even be a rivalry anymore. Avs simply cannot compete against the Wings anymore. gb2/east/.
>> Anonymous
>>81480
All these guys from the rivalry years have returned to their old camps, though. It's like all the stars are aligning for a rivalry renewal
>> Anonymous
>>81477
they still have been, the fine is just that sobotka cant pick em up and swing em around. You will see 1 or 2 at every homegame post season.
>> Anonymous
BOO HOO FORSBERG.
>> Anonymous
>>81482
Yeah, but the reasoning behind not swinging it around is that it'll fling gunk and whatnot onto the ice or some shit like that. Can't do that when it's a plush.
>> Anonymous
>>81484
plush just isnt the same.
>> Anonymous
>>81485
I know it isn't, but there's got to be SOME kind of loophole to get around this bullshit. If using plush is the Wings' way of effectively thumbing their nose at Bettman, so be it.

>> Anonymous
>>81484

One of the Detroit radio stations asked listeners to call in about their thoughts about not being able to swing it around.

Somebody called in and called it stupid and went on this big rant because apparently everybody knows you boil the octopus first so it doesn't spray gunk everywhere. I guess if you don't it'd just explode on the ice and leave a huge mess.
>> Anonymous
>>81492
He's not on the Av's bench
>> Anonymous
>>81494
haha oh wow

well he has gotta be really hurting because you know he knows his team really needs him.
>> Anonymous

lol, even when you boil them they seem to...deflate when they hit the ice.
>> Anonymous
besides the octopi + forsberg:

two words: puck possession.
>> Anonymous
>>81498
yep, wings finally started controlling once they got their second goal.
>> Anonymous
It's still stupid, fans know to boil it and do whatever to it to not make a mess, so Al can swing it around. Bettman just likes to take the fun out of the game for us fans
>> Anonymous of Philadelphia !!CF3BKIiUIDY
What the hell? Is every series going to end in a sweep but ours?

I feel so much more secure this playoffs than last year's. We got our asses handed to us by the Ducks because they completely dominated the physical play. This year we've acquired people who can throw their body around (DMac, Downey, Drake, Stuart), we have our core top-end defense and offense intact, we have Ozzie standing on his head, and are now getting huge help with secondary scoring by Franzen.
>> Anonymous

Yours should of but you let the shitty Canadians score on you last minute and then in overtime.. good job.

btw, I'm Canadian and hate Canadian teams except for Calgary and Vancouver. Detroit fan, so I naturally hate Toronto, I can't stand Montreal fans, Ottawa lets Toronto win in the playoffs and.. well I guess I'm indifferent about Edmonton.

Guys.. I'm going to get a Wings jersey pretty soon but I don't know what name to get. I'm torn between a Yzerman or Datsyuk jersey.

Stevie Y is amazing, and will always (I think) be my favorite player. The I think is there because I can definitely see Datsyuk kicking him off that pedestal, he's such an amazing player.

Question is.. is he good enough to be better than good ole Stevie Y and warrant getting a Datsyuk jersey instead of an Yzerman one?
>> Anonymous
>>81603
above all id get a Howe jersey, buy Yzerman over Datsyuk.
>> Anonymous
>>81603
I'd say get a Datsyuk one. Look to the present/future instead of the past.

Right now I have a home and away jersey. The away has Lidstrom's numbers, the away isn't numbered yet. Been thinking either Dats or Zets, but the way Mule has been playing the last few weeks is really tempting me.
>> Anonymous
>>81607
*the home isn't numbered yet
>> Anonymous
>>81603
Luckily I've had a Franzen jersey for a few years. I had a Granderson jersey since he was a rookie too...I've always liked to get the more obscure names...and luckily it turns out they're good.
>> Anonymous
>>81607
yeah if i had a spare 200$~ id pick up a franzen without a second thought
>> Anonymous
>>81604
A howe jersey would only work best if you had a vintage sweater, though
>> Anonymous
>>81613
True. Don't suppose you have a website where one might procure this on hand, do you?
>> Anonymous
>>81607

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. The future.. Datsyuk. I've always wanted an Yzerman jersey though and there's that part of me that says "STEVIE IS THE BEST EVAR. GET STEVIE!!".

>>81610

That's sweet. Franzen rocks, I'm so happy he's pulling through. He might be my next choice.. uggh but there's still Zetterberg.
>> Anonymous
>>81619

Seconded.. this interests me. I ignored the possibility of Howe until I read>>81613.
>> Anonymous
>>81603

Avs fag here, on the topic of jerseys, I bought me a spiffy Sakic jersey at the end of the Minnesota series, and If I don;t get the chance to wear it the day after an avs victory I will shit a brick,

>>81619
icejerseys.com has them last I checked - look in the vintage section. Although I should mention I've found the equivalent one for the Leafs and it's literally a hockey *sweater*, which looks kinda uncomfortable to wear. Plus I'm not sure if jersey stores would be able to number it correctly since they probably only have the fonts/styles from the last few seasons.
>> Anonymous
>>81627
thanks. dont really mind if its an actual sweater, makes it more authentic. :)

>> Anonymous

>>81643
Not even nervous at this point. Wings have flat out outplayed them, I don't really think Colorado will win.
>> Anonymous
dammit, Detroit, why these stupid penalties?
>> Anonymous
>>81647
well when you get this many penalties late in the game you have a good chance to come out on top. but.........hopefully the wings strong play will prevail
>> Anonymous
>>81647
Avs have been taking it to the Wings lately. Too many dumb penalties being taken.
>> Anonymous
I will agree that the penalties are killing us, but aside from those we have taken the play to them...If we get tied up, we still have half a period + overtime to outplay them.
>> Anonymous
WHAT A SHOT! was that hudler? my ears never hurt so much after a ping to the post
>> Anonymous
Shame it's so late into the game, I'd lol massively if the Wings chased Theodore out for the third time in a row
>> Anonymous
>>81647

Either you didn't watch the first period or your kind of stupid. The Avs were all over the Wings till Foresburg left the bench, then it was just gong show from there.
>> Anonymous
>>81654
last thing I'd like to see is the game going into overtime at colorado with the momentum riding for the avs.
>> Anonymous
>>81661
Um you do realize forsberg's been playing nearly the whole game rite?
>> Anonymous
>>81662
2nding this, a tie means a lucky goal can win it.
>> Anonymous
>>81661
At the point which Forsberg left the game, Detroit had 11 shots, 6 chances to Colorado's 5 shots 2 chances.
>> Anonymous
>>81664

Yeah I know, just saying that it was around then when the Wings finally got something done. Why did he leave anyway I never actually caught that part.
>> Anonymous
the one thing I love about the refs is how they're not tricked into the couple dives I've seen a couple avs players make to try and draw a penalty. crosby would be a fwustwated pwayer if he was an av
