I got into an argument today about how drag racing and golf are sports, but skateboarding and surfing aren't. Sure, they're always lumped under the "sports" genre, and granted, they're 3 of the 4 for pussys(but a damn good argument can be made that figure skating chicks have the best asses in "sports")I said that regardless of physical fitness, a SPORT is something that has an indisputable way to win. In football, baseball, hockey, bowling and darts, whoever scored the most points wins, period. In racing, weather it's cars, running, boats, or horses, whoever finishes first, wins. Makes sense, right? Well then it started getting muddy. Hunting, is a sport. You kill the duck, the duck loses, and you win. Same with fishing. You could even get crazy with it in saying chess or competitive eating are sports. Jump the Queen or eat the most without heaving, and you win. No arguments.Whereas "sports" like figure skating, alot of the Olympics and X games are really just competitions. People judge who's the best. There's no definite answer as to who wins. No different from a car show, beauty pageant, or American Idol. Does it mean these skaters and boarders aren't athletes? Of course not.But it's not a sport.Discus(is a sport)
You just said hunting is a sport, but skateboarding isn't.Reductio ad absurdum. You are wrong.
In hunting, you kill the animal(or human) you're hunting, you win. No argument. That's a sport.Whereas in skateboarding, people decide if your tricks are better than someone else's.That's a competition. What's not making sense, Anon?
>>45607No, I understand what you're saying. But the crazy conclusions you come too prove that your dichotomy between sports and competitions is wrong.
>>45603Lern2Logic, troll.>>45607Checkers is a sport.Bocce is a sport.Candyland is a sport.umwut?
>>45617Sport doesn't always equal HGH.
>>45617This means I'm an athlete?!
