American Football EQ OP !/Wc6b6/Y96
We're starting an american football team here in Europe and I'm choosing the equipment.

The first step is the helmet, I need to choose between a Riddell Revolution (pic) and a Adams 2000. Revolution gets better reviews but it's more than 50€ expensive than the Adams. I guess I will take this last one because of that but still need some opinions on the matter.

Thanks.

Forgot to say that I'm playing as a LB, maybe a little TE or FB.

The Revolutions are overpriced and look retarded.

Revolutions are nice, better protection and significantly lighter than normal helmets.

But if you're just starting a football team you probably won't be hitting that hard. That price difference for an entire football team could be a budget buster for you.

Ok, I guess I'm picking the Adams then. Thanks.

For shoulderpad I'm also a bit lost, there is so many options and a lot of money involved. The pic is a Riddell Ultra UL68, sounds good, maybe a little expensive (175€~240$) but I don't know if it's a good election because of my noobness. It's supposed to be designed for a LB/FB but I guess I won't have big problems if I need to play something like DE, right?

Anyway, any other option I can find in this online store could be good.

Thanks again and sorry for all the questions.

revolutions are much more comfortable and the facemasks give you a better field of view

12 years of football right here

buy the more expsensive

supposedly the revolution is much better at protecting from concussions.notice how the helmet extends all the way down to the jaw.

personally i'd get the revolution.

Damn, now I don't know what to buy.
Also, there is no stock of the shoulderpad I posted early so I'm still looking for one.

OP, you don't need the highest-tech equipment. People will tell you that you do, but those of us who are a bit older and played in school had crappy equipment and we still hit pretty hard. Get the least-expensive stuff that is still approved by the regulatory agencies and enjoy the game.

Revolutions are ugly though.

Its always great to see American Football making strides in Europe...

When I was in the army, we had one of the best amateur football teams in Germany (I was a safety). One of the only teams to beat us were a bunch of teenagers from a local German high school....it was a close game though, it was good football...

OP should attempt to play with no pads or helmets. After all, isn't it just rugby with pads?

I'd love to see that...

We were doing something like that for the last three months, but we aren't tackling hard until we got the protections.
