ok, you have to remove one franchise from each conference in the nhl, which one's do you remove?

for me it's Colombus and Florida.

Can't possibly pick one per conference. With effort I could give two each

Phoenix/Nashville
NY Islanders/Florida

Pittsburgh and probably Phoenix.

One of the New York teams... Yeah fuck you New York you don't need two teams... or maybe you do since you can't win shit with either of them...

Can I get rid of six?

Edmonton/Vancouver/Calgary in the West, Toronto/Ottawa/Montreal in the East

I would, however, bring back Winnipeg for the lulz. I'd replace the teams with Albuquerque, Oklahoma City, Houston, New Orleans and Louisville.

best we should get rid of all teams, put all players into a draft of a new original six, these teams should be located in hilo, hawaii, mexico city, medicine hat north and medicine hat south, Moscow, Idaho & Moscow, Russia. I might actually watch hockey then.

Nigger, Penguins are missing five starters and the back-up goalie that saved their season when Fleury went down.

Canadiens, Senators, Capitals, Devils, and Flyers are all but guaranteed playoff returns with many competitive teams gunning for those last three spots.

technically, as the person suggesting a new original six. Medicine Hat North should be in the Rofl Conf., Medicine Hat South should be in the LOL conf., it would save on travelling expenses., See, I'm better than Bettman.

Oh yeah, sorry. That one bus that goes down Medicine Hat's only primary road is a hell of a commute, it would really cut down on travel time from Medicine Hat to Mexico City if they were reversed.
>> Anonymous

winning a few games is now saving a season... interesting logic there.

And uh, let's see about the five starters...

Hossa... wasn't even needed for them to cruise control into the playoffs.

Roberts... old and fucking useless... how the fuck many games did he miss?

Malone, Hall, and Ruutu... ok, these are more of a loss, but still it shouldn't be LOLOMG impossible to get some players to fill these positions at a decent level.

Therefore, yes, they can still make the playoffs. Note I'm not saying 1st place or anything. I'm just saying they will make it in.

Conklin won 18 games, asshat. Just one less than MAF. Learn your team if you want to claim you aren't a bandwagoning faggot.

>Hossa... wasn't even needed for them to cruise control into the playoffs.
Which is ironic, considering how the Pens leaned on his beastly play throughout the playoffs.

>Roberts... old and fucking useless
And yet has experience and grit no one else on the team could match. When you're left Orpik and Malkin (who's developed a taste for goonery) as your only tough-guys, you've done something wrong.

The Penguins are in a bad spot in the toughest division in the NHL. If they can't win the division, there's a fair chance they can miss the playoffs all together. Detroit taught the league a lesson: clamp down on Crosby, and the Pens will not score. You're foolish if you don't think every team won't emulate that.
>> Anonymous
>>200918
Meh, Nashville gets all their ticket sales at the end of the season, WHEN THEY MAKE THE PLAYOFFS, unlike Columbus. And Nashvilles record against Columbus is what? 15-0-1?
>> Anonymous
>>201006
Even with Nashville's owners cheating by buying out shitloads of tickets, the Predators can't sell the place out unless the Wings are playing.
>> Anonymous
>>201007
Nashville's biggest problem is NOT having companies buy tickets to give to employees, etc. Thats how montreal always sells out games.

The offense still plays a pretty big part in things regardless of which goalie is in. Unless you're NJ, a team you mentioned for the playoffs... If Brodeur gets injured they won't win a game until he comes back. And what are the odds Fleury goes out for a while again anyways? Can't be that high.

Hossa... yeah he helped in the playoffs... but that's not what we're talking about.

Roberts... seriously is too old to do anything anymore. Orpik is among the best defensemen in the league. And finding another "tough guy" shouldn't be too hard.

As for other teams following Detroit's lead... lol you act as if other teams are as good as Detroit... wrong. And Malkin isn't likely to do as poorly as he did against Detroit. Their offense will be fine.

They still have a solid team. 3 main losses at this point that can be filled at a decent level without too much problem. They will make the playoffs next season.
>> Anonymous
>>201011
>Orpik is among the best defensemen in the league.

the wild are amazing. sold out every game in their teams history. They don't need corrupt management/onership to inflate ticket sales.
>> Anonymous
>>201011you act as if other teams are as good as Detroit

You act like Detroit did anything special. Double-team Crosby + NZT Malkin = GAME OVER, MAN. GAME OVER.

Massive loss of role-players devastates teams. Did you not wonder how the Flyers went from top of the East to worst in the NHL? Because they were gutted during the player's strike. It took Philadelphia an entire season to recover...and that was considered an insanely quick transition.

Don't get your hopes up.
>> Anonymous
>>201017
Did anything special? You mean like steamroll through every team they played? Yeah like the Pens steamrolled through the east.

3 players is not some huge devastating loss. Sure they may fall from best in the east to say 6th or something but they will still make the playoffs.
>> Anonymous
>>2010213 players

Six, you bandwagoning nimrod. A team does not win on three star players alone. You can try to replace them with players still part of the organization, but that will still leave gaps. Unless Pittsburgh really does sign Jagr, they'll manage two good lines and two utter shit, AHL scab lines that will get eaten alive by better-rounded teams.

Enjoy scraping for points trying to beat the Maple Leafs to that #8 seed.
>> Anonymous
>>201025
I like how you keep resorting to name calling on an anonymous forum... I guess you have to though since your argument is so full of fail.

I said 3 because they are the important ones. Hossa didn't get them into the playoffs, Conklin was a backup so barring another random injury to Fleury doesn't matter at all(and don't give some bullshit but what if argument because we could play this argument with any team), Roberts is too old, he'll be of no use to any team now.

The team will still be solid. And you know, I remember when half of /sp/ was saying last season how the pens would fail in the first round of the playoffs... yeah... didn't happen did it?
>> Anonymous
>>201028
>>Conklin was a backup so barring another random injury to Fleury doesn't matter at all

Well the second the team starts slipping, and he wont make any money, he will sell out the team and try and sell it to somebody that will move it. All Leopold wants to do is make money, he doesnt like hockey, he just wants money.

>>And you know, I remember when half of /sp/ was saying last season how the pens would fail in the first round of the playoffs... yeah... didn't happen did it?

Watching them get as far as they did and get every sportscaster in North America's hopes up only to crumble against a team that didn't laughably overachieve was much more satisfying.

>>201028

I'm only calling you a fanboy piece of shit because that's exactly what your ignorance reveals. Whining that I keep calling you out only shows how unconvinced of your own bullshit you really are.

>Hossa didn't get them into the playoffs
You're right. The rest of the team that just signed with other clubs got the Pens into the playoffs. Now you can stop using this garbage argument
>Conklin was a backup so barring another random injury to Fleury doesn't matter at all
Huh, I wonder why teams even have back-up goaltenders at all? It's like the entire league puts this huge emphasis on this "what if" scenario you're so willing to toss out the window. High ankle sprains are common in ice hockey. Considering MAF is a goalie as well, having some scab back-up is tip-toeing a fine line for no goddamn reason.

Also consider that back-ups play a dozen games in a year, and the Penguins will need all the points they can get.
>Roberts is too old
Apparently he wasn't too old last season? And it's funny how a player that's "too old" is still more willing to get physical and grind-it-out than Pittsburgh's remaining superstars. Newsflash: player value isn't soley determined by the number followed by a G or A. What Roberts has to offer is severly lacked by the Penguins.

Be arrogant all you want, but the Pens' cycle of a few good seasons then a slew of terrible years will always roll on.
>> Anonymous
Nashville in the West, since their majority owner is bankrupt and Gary Bettman has a hard-on for keeping good money out of the league.

Atlanta in the east, although the fact that they're 15 million under the salary floor should take care of that nicely.

What do you guys have against Columbus anyways?
Despite the fact that the team has sucked for all six years it's existed it does pretty well attendance-wise.

Penguinsfag, sad that team sucks ass and couldn't sign Hossa.

>>200924
Who would it be? Shit, that's a tough one. It would have to be one that sucks, and does no good.
I guess I would have to say that if one leaves that is in the West, I would pick the LA Kings, for they have done NOTHING since The Great One At Being Around Gamblers left back in the mid-90s. However, Nashville and Columbus both got not-very-Honorable Mentions. Really, all 3 should go, but I give it to LA due to the fact that they have been around 40 years, and they still aren't gone.

The East shit teams go down to the entire Southeast division; everyone but Washington and Tampa Bay should be rid of. I pick Atlanta as the one that needs to leave the most, but the other two (Florida and Carolina) would also be good to kill off.

So there, I am done for now.

Sincerely,
God.
