He took a team of Dikembe Mutombo and 12 nobodies to the finals.

Fuck off and die..

No one has single handedly taken team to the finals(LeBron had an easy path and got swept, he doesn't count)

Denver would be under .500 without him this season..

And now he can't even take an All-Star starter (Melo) and NBA Defensive player of the year (Camby) to the second round.

Well the East wasn't exactly a powerhouse back when Iverson got to the Finals either.

Imagine that, a 32-year-old that's averaged about 72 minutes per game throughout his injury-freckled career isn't as good as he once was.

Also lol George Karl though this forces me to admit that Larry Brown was a pretty big help back then.

LeBron had an easy path? When compared to Iversons 76ers? Holy shit.

Have fun missing the playoffs while the 76ers get in with a sub .500 record.

Why all the hating in /sp/? Shit, I can respect any man whos team puts up 168 in a professional basketball game...

Denver got the pieces (save for point guard, they sorely need one that's legit or at least servicable) but doesn't have the coach.
George Karl's overstaying power as coach is only for 3 seasons. More than that, and he's stretching it. Most coaches are like that in the league.

Unless you're Jerry Sloan or Gregg Popovich.
>> Anonymous
in theory, yes, they have SOME of the pieces. two big time scorers, a guy to clean up everything in the paint, but they don't have the shooters. J.R. Smith's inconsistency is terrifying, he alone isn't gonna be able to stretch defenses enough to keep outscoring teams that actually play defense. Chucky Atkins needs to keep doing what he's been doing for the past couple games for the rest of the season. the west is just too competitive.
