ITT Predict Starting pitchers for the All-Star Game

NL: Ben Sheets, he's in the top three in wins, and ERA, and the other two, Lincecum and Volquez, play on shitty teams. Sheets has a 2.7 ERA and an 8-1 Record

AL: Cliff Lee has been wheelin and dealin. 2.45 ERA with a 10-1 Record.

NL: Tim Lincecum (Edinson Volquez as dark horse)

AL: Cliff Lee (Roy Halladay as dark horse)

NL: Volquez

AL: Kazmir

NL: Edinson Volquez should start. 10-2 in 16 starts, lowest ERA in the Majors (around 1.71), most strikeouts (110 K).

AL: Cliff Lee. Best pitcher in the AL by far.

NL : Barry Zito
AL : Kei Igawa
But seriously.

NL : Lincecum
AL : Cliff Lee
>> Cleveland Fag !!Orl1PSmX/ea
Voloquez and Lee.

If you disagree Lee for the AL, you're a fucking idiot. NL is up in the air a bit.

How is Volquez a dark horse?

Best ERA and most strikeouts in the majors

Because he plays FOR FUCKING CINCINNATI.

I know record shouldn't be a factor in the decision, but the fact of the matter is, it is.

Because he plays for Cincy, and nobody knew who the hell he was before this year.

AL: Lee. Can't think of anyone else. Maybe Saunders. Probably not Saunders.

NL: I'll go out on a limb. Ryan Fuckin' Dempster.

It's nice to see that Dumpster finally found a role that suits him. He was shit-tastic as their closer.

Yeah. And he was an all-star starter with Florida. I seriously have no fucking idea why the Cubs wanted him to fuck everything up in the bullpen when Howry is perfectly capable of that.

>Volquez.. play on shitty teams
Fuck you :(
He should be the starter, he's clearly the best pitcher in the NL.

this is a classic case of "should win/will win". Voters put too much stock in the caliber of the team around the players and crappy indicator statistics like W-L.

Give me ERA, WHIP, K/BB, and a QS count, and I'll tell you who the best pitcher is.

jon lester for the AL

If it wasn't for terrible run support, I would have actually said in the AL - Shaun Marcum. If he had the run support, he would have been at least 9-3. In 98.2 innings pitched, he has a 2.65 ERA (3rd in AL), 1.00 WHIP (2nd in AL [Not to Lee]), and opponents are hitting just .198 against him (Leads the AL). The only problem - He's 5-4 and he's currently on the 15-day DL.

The Doc is also a pretty good candidate, but I'd have to definitely say Cliff Lee as the starter.
