Since the NFL draft is upon us, I'm going to make a sticky for it, another sticky will eventually be made for the NBA draft and I guess the NHL draft(if they actually show it on TV).

Main reason playoff threads aren't stickied at the moment due to a whole bunch of teams still in the race, but finals playoffs for both the NFL and NBA are likely to have their own stickies.

PREDICTIONS FOR THE DRAFT:

-Nawlins trades up and gets Dorsey. All six Saints fans in attendance go nuts.
-McFadden falls to sixth and gets snagged by the Jets. Green and white "RUN DMC" shirts begin printing immediately.
-The Cardinals draft another WR, cementing their 2008 record to under 5 wins.

Hey /DallasCowboys/ , worst trade ever, Akin Aydele is worth a 4th round draft pick by himself, some teams may give up a 3rd rounder for him. NOt to mention hes started the past 2 years. And Anthony Fasano is a good blocking TE, just what Miami needed.

I say them 2 packaged together is worth a 2nd, maybe 3rd rounder.. Another bad trade by the boss man

not such a bad trade considering the dolphin's 4th rounder is still in the top 100, although fasano is a good blocking TE, so is witten, and witten is a pretty complete TE in terms of blocking and receiving. Left tackle is generally considered the second or third most important position on offense. Although, not at McFadden's skill level, most running backs can be good just by having an above average o-line. >With just three hours to go before the start of the draft, trade talk is getting fast and furious, and John Clayton of ESPN reports that the Saints and Ravens could make a deal.

>The Ravens want to draft a quarterback and they don’t think they’ll be able to nab their first choice, Matt Ryan of Boston College, with the eighth pick in the draft. That would then lead the Ravens to try to trade down and select their second-rated quarterback, Chad Henne of Michigan, and Clayton reports that they’d be willing to take Henne as high as 10th, the pick the Saints own.

It distresses me that Indianapolis didn't sign a single person in free agency. Nobody. All they did was offer Dallas Clark and Bob Sanders obscene sums of cash. Oh, did I mention they don't have a first round pick either?

Honestly, the Colts don't need much in the way of instant starters..younger WR maybe and depth on defense
>> Red Machine D !h1LZxECEVA

The Saints know that not only would Dorsey become an instant major improvement to their defense, they also know that he's a Louisiana boy who grew up watching the Saints. He's probably wanted to play on the Saints since he was a kid. Born in Louisiana, attended LSU... hometown discount, maybe. You never know.

Also, Chris Mortensen just said that he thinks the Saints will try to get the No. 4 pick from Oakland if Dorsey is still available at four.

While you have a good point about the availability of good DTs, how many of them are Glenn Dorsey good? How many CBs in the draft are that good? How many are homegrown talent? They're not looking immediately at a single need in the backfield that might be able to help midseason or next year, they're looking to make a big statement starting in week one, and they can do that with Dorsey. They'll probably go for a CB in round two if they don't have to send that pick away.

I'm a little surprised to hear that Chris Long is going to the Rams though. St. Louis could have really used Dorsey as well.

I'm predicting a much better season for Bush this year. He's been fueled by every ounce of criticism and every bit of footage over the last season, and he's going to come back hungry and pissed off. He's going to be operating a lot in the fullback behind Deuce, but I also think he'll be seeing more action in singleback and third down back situations, especially if Shockey learns how to block off the line.

>> Red Machine D !h1LZxECEVA
>>76677

We don't know that, and we never will. Shockey may have been the key to a wider margin of victory, but then again, he could have been a liability off the block. We won't know because he had a broken leg. A lot of people pile on him because he's very outspoken and gets the media's attention every time he says something. He's a good player; after all, shitty players don't usually make it to the NFL. He's just not as good as a lot of Giants fans expected, and I think unfairly so. He's been able to produce every time he goes on the field, and he's been to the Pro Bowl four times in his six year career. The Giants fans are just awfully harsh, as New York fans are wont to be in every sport. I distinctly recall Giants fans trashing Eli all the way up to the second half of the Super Bowl. The only reason he was playing QB for GSU is because they run the triple option (as they have for years, until this next season) and he essentially embodies a triple option QB. He's only like 5'9" and about 170lbs, and he realizes that he doesn't have the size to be a QB in the NFL.

After watching some more footage on this guy, I'm really wanting to see him as a CB/FS/SS. He may not be big enough to cause a lot of nervousness, but he could cover ANYONE. He could easily be a big time shutdown corner.
>> TOMMY FUCKING KELLY!!!
>>76704
No, we do know that they did not neeed him to win. I didn't say they would have lost with him. It is a fact that they were perfectly fine without him. And the Pro Bowl is no indication of greatness. Especially at that position. He is a below average blocker and a pretty good receiver. But to say the addition of him and an unknown rookie makes the Saints the team to beat is quite a stretch.
>> TOMMY FUCKING KELLY!!!

>>77022

You think really? What would they want later? Two receivers or what? I mean, we have Pacman now, but we are short on safeties. That is a good idea though, I like that.

And the thing about Mendenhall being picked later, look who he played. Felix played non stop competition and Dallas can see Felix like a Marion Barber. A back up now Marion is a pro-bowler. Great pick, great idea, it'll be tough to cover those two. We also need a returner as well and Felix is a great returner.

What an amazing 2 first rounds for Dallas. Not as good as Kansas City, but being a Dallas fan, I'm pleased.

Felix Jones, Mike Jenkins, and now Martellus Bennett

This leaves Jerry Jones free to acquire a veteran wide out. Roy Williams from Detroit seems like the most doable option, although Ocho Cinco and TO lining up together would be sick.

Anyone that's a Dallas fan and isn't pleased with these first 2 rounds is a complete idiot. And anyone that isn't a Cowboys fan, and isn't pleased with what the Cowboys did. Well, that's just because you're mad you have to go up against this offensive powerhouse. And holy shit, the weakness of the Cowboys last year was their secondary. Now you have to pass on a healthy Terrance Newman, Anthony Henry, Pacman Jones, and Mike Jenkins? Whats that? You'll run it on the 'boys?

...Yeah, that'd hold weight if I were a Patsfag, but I'm not.

Just wondering, you seem to be full of excuses for the Seattle game, just wondering why we should believe Dallas won't be one-and-done yet again.

WTF? With that attitude they will take away all of the Vikings black players. Including Adrian Peterson. that leaves like Steve Hutchinson and some backup qb

I'm tired of athletes(all of which are black) playing QB for the Vikings. I want a real QB unfortunately Childress will draft some soon to be failures like Josh Johnson or Dennis Dixon.

we shouldnt. theyll do "well" in the regular season, and then in typical dallas fashion will think they are Gods gift to the NFL, stop trying towards the end of the season, and choke in the playoffs.

There have been good black QBs, just like how there have been good white WRs. It's just not as common.

>>77557

You guys can still get Andre Woodson, Colt Brennan, or John David Booty (although I really want him to go to the Buccaneers because of how hilarious that would be). And Dixon wouldn't be a terrible pick anyway.

Besides, your defense will hold opponents to maybe 10 points a game so even if you guys don't get someone in the draft Gus Frerotte should be plenty.

I like how you dumb faggots say win a playoff first in regards to the Cowboy. Oh no playoff wins under the "Romo era". The guy has been QB for 1 and 1/2 years. Only one full season as QB, in which he led the Cowboys to #1 in the NFC. The snap was his fault, but there were 59 other minutes in that game where they should of won it. The loss to the Giants was not Romos fault at all, but the Cowboys could of easily won that had they not made stupid mistakes. But please don't pull that shit with the, win a playoff game bullshit. It's been 1 and 1/2 years. And don't worry, you'll be seeing plenty of the Cowboys this year in the playoffs. They'll be the team that is beating your team, or beating the team that beat your team.

TL;DR version = STUPID NIGGERS WHO THINK ROMO IS A BUST BECAUSE HE HASNT WON SUPER BOWL IN 1 and 1/2 YEARS YET TURNED THE COWBOYS SEASON AROUND WHEN HE FIRST STARTED AND THEN LED THEM TO THE BEST RECORD IN THE NFC AND THIS SENTENCE IS A SERIOUS RUN ON BUT FUCK I AM TIRED OF DUMB NIGGERS.

people always hate on america's team and the patriots. what do these two teams have in common that could cause this type of knee jerk reaction. maybe it is the fact that both teams have an era of complete dominance over the rest of the nfl. maybe

Nah, its because the NFL has turned into a 24/7 news story, so fans of other franchises resent overexposure.

How many times while I was watching the draft was I bombarded with Trey Wingo saying "Oh, and I don't know if you heard, the Pats went 18-1 last year. Yeah, pretty good, I'd say." Over and over again. Well fuck him and fuck the Pats, nobody deserves that kind of cocksucking.

Though I would totally dig it if the Lions and Pats/Boys switched teams.

I guess we'll have to see. The management has been making extremely strong decisions after the Hutchinson/Burleson debacle. Dropped D.Jackson, he had a bum year. Told Hamlin to take a walk, and Russell excelled. I miss Jurevicius but he was determined to leave. I'm confident in Ruskell/Holmgren's hands.

I'd still like explanations for Jackson and Coutu though.
