Then again I don't really like the Steelers so I'm probably underrating them. I hope Ben Roethlisberger has a really shitty year though to see his rabid fanbase cry.

Big Steelers fan here.

This season has too many ifs. If the O line can provide some better protection on pass. If the D can make big stops (see both J'ville games). If the new emphasis on O pay off.

They may got 11-5 or 12-4, but the schedule is nasty. I'm expecting 9-7 or .500 ball.

10-6 or 11-5.

Massive o-line failure.
Toothlessberger injured trying to open a can of beer with a shotgun.

8-8, but as far as I'm concerned they can fucking go 0-16

8-8. Cleveland finally steps up and takes the division for the first time in a trillion years.

best case scenario, 12 wins. Worst case (injury on parker, roethlisberger, o-line), 8-9 wins and gets overtaken by Cleveland.

Even if the O-line sucks, Roethlisberger actually does a great job extending the play with his feet that doesn't have to do necessarily with trying to get past the first down marker. Of course the problem then would be making Parker/Mendenhall a legit threat on the ground with the O-line issue.

I don't know but I think their defense has regressed. Expect them to be in more shootouts this season, especially with the brownies.
>> Anonymous
>>194510L Cle

Fuck off, Brownie. No one but Browns fans think they'll lose to Cleveland.

>Roethlisberger actually does a great job extending the play with his feet

Too bad that, instead of scrambling for a few positive yards, he's looking downfield and takes a sack anyway.
>> CapitalistBastard !!f/pELCnjRD0
Look at all the Brownstain fans clinging to the hope that THIS IS THE YEAR they do something in the Playoffs.

>>194983

>Too bad that, instead of scrambling for a few positive yards, he's looking downfield and takes a sack anyway.

The O-line is pathetic, he carried the offense last year.

Once again, you prove you know absolutely nothing. The offensive line would not have looked half as bad if a) the OC wasn't part of the "Fuck It I'm Goin' Deep" fanclub and b) Roethlisberger would have just stepped through the TRUCK-SIZED HOLE in the middle when opposing teams attacked the edges.

Parker was having a great season until he broke his leg. It only looks like Roethlisberger carried the team because he was given opportunity after opportunity by the coaching staff to do so.
>> CapitalistBastard !!f/pELCnjRD0
>>195113

>Parker was having a great season until he broke his leg.

You obviously didn't watch every Steeler game last year. Parker is the MOST OVER-RATED back in the league. He gained most of his yardage against the worst teams in the league and was often STUFFED COMPLETELY by any defense worth a damn. He also had the MOST CARRIES by far at the time of his injury. His YPC was very mediocre.

>Roethlisberger would have just stepped through the TRUCK-SIZED HOLE in the middle when opposing teams attacked the edges.

You are simply sustaining my earlier observation about you not watching many Steeler games.

Oh shut the fuck up, ignoramous. You can insist you're doing anything but spewing shit, but it doesn't make your warped reality any more plausible.

With as little as you understand about ice hockey, I'd figure you'd be able to grasp football, but, whoops, my mistake.

Is this where you accuse me of never putting on pads and a helmet?

Apparently, an over-rated back and a horrible o-line can still lead the league in rushing yards.

Obvious pushoff(that's illegal).

>ref gave one to the steelers (TOUCHDOWN BEN ROETHLISBERGER LOL)

The ball crossed the goal line. It was even reviewed using instant replay.

I'd love to recap Super Bowl XL. It will make me feel a lot better then considering the Steelers prospects this year.

>> Anonymous
>>195349
Roethlisberger hinted that he didn't think he broke the plane on Letterman, but that call didn't even bother me that much.

The people who say "pushoff was obvious" or "there was no phantom hold, it was a clear hold", however, were the same people crying foul a week before about the Colts game about a bad call that nearly cost them the game, despite the fact THE STEELERS WON IT. I've even encountered Steelers fans who said the low block call on Hasselbeck was legit. These people are what one would call "delusional", a label that fits people like CB to a T.

Your season depends on whether you can keep Roethlisberger away from his motor-sickle.
>> Anonymous
>>195399
The Seahawks are a far flung team that don't have nationwide fan support of teams like the Cowboys, Steelers, etc.. As a fan, I was a little shocked we were even allowed to make it that far, so the Super Bowl ended up being a painful reminder of where we stand in the hierarchy. The fact a Pittsburgh native was allowed to be a part of the officiating crew just twisted the knife.

There were neutral publications that said Super Bowl XL was horribly officiated. Conveniently, most of those calls went to the Steelers. Just because the NFL stuck up for its refs doesn't mean nothing happened,.
>> Anonymous
Calling holding on Locklear to bring back a huge pass to first and goal.
Not calling a horse collar from Joey Porter on Alexander rushing towards the endzone.
Penalizing Hasselbeck for a legal block
Refusing to penalize or call against the steelers in any situation until the game was well in hand

Yeah keep crying steelers fag, the age of steelers football being about hard work and toughness is long over, you got a pity ring that nobody respects.
>> Anonymous
>>195268

Are *you* fucking retarded?

Why don't you actually look at the stats before you make your idiotic claims. Most attempts? Maybe he was on pace, but at season's end, he has just as many as every other dominant running back. Horrid yards per attempt? 4.1 ypc. Stuffed at the line? You really think every running threat doesn't deal with that?
>> Anonymous
>>195431you got a pity ring that no crying seahawks fanboy respects

Fix'd.
>> Anonymous
>>195443
The fact you and so many other Steelers fan are still so defensive about Super Bowl XL leads me to believe that deep down inside, you know it was at least somewhat tainted.
>> CapitalistBastard !!f/pELCnjRD0
>>195434

Thanks for the troll response. I'll respond anyway because this EURO FINAL IS FUCKING BORING.

>Maybe he was on pace, but at season's end, he has just as many as every other dominant running back.

Hey fucktard, he missed games from injury and was only 4 attempts behind the league lead in attempts. He was WELL AHEAD after his last game.

>Horrid yards per attempt? 4.1 ypc.

4.1ypc is mediocre. In any event, his running style is typically stuffed at the line 20 times a game and a couple long runs to bring up the average. You can't sustain a drive on Parker's back. He is extremely soft around the goal line and has no vision or toughness around the line.

>>195455

This is true. If you tell a colts fan that their victory against the bears was a fraud they'd just laugh. The shame of the truth is just so immense that steelers fans literally can't even consider it, so you just get LALALALALA CAN"T HEAR YOU LALALALA as a comeback.

Yes, everyone who points out just how full of shit you are must be a troll. Congratulations, you are the only non-troll in /sp/. Think about that.

4.1 ypc is mediocre? I would ask you if you live in some bizarro reality, but we all pretty much know that answer. For rushers that managed 1,000 yards last season, 4.3 ypc was the average. I know it's your schtick to be an utter retard, but GODDAMN there is a slight difference between below average and "mediocre."
