DID SOMEONE SAY REMATCH?
>> Anonymous
Come one Irish!
Beat the Trojans!
>> Anonymous
As much as I loathe USC, I hope they win out.

A Michigan-Ohio State rematch would be a travesty.
>> Anonymous
>>23425
bullshit
everyone wants to see it
>> Anonymous
>>23418
Why? Michigan and Ohio State got to pad their records by playing a pitiful conference schedule. Outside of vastly overrated Notre Dame, Michigan hasn't beaten anyone good. They almost lost to one of the MAC's worst teams ffs.

p.s. Before anyone mentions Wisconsin, look at their schedule and try to tell me they really deserve to be in the top 20.
>> Anonymous
>>23430
how else should it be? are you saying michigan doesn't deserve the #2 spot? of course they do they lost to the best team in the country by 3 damn points
>> Anonymous
>>23431
Ohio State desrves to be #1, but Michigan does not deserve to be #2. USC, Florida, Arkansas, and even West Virginia are all more deserving of the #2 spot.
>> Anonymous
>>23431
And ILLI-FREAKIN'-NOIS lost to the best team in the country by 7 points. Doesn't mean they're any good. If you actually watched the OSU-ILL game and the OSU-UM game you'd see that OSU did exactly what it did in the Illinois game: commit turnovers and keep Michigan close. Ohio State isn't that great, but they simply outclassed Michigan on the field. Without those turnovers, they had almost a two-touchdown victory margin.
>> Anonymous
>>23427
Not really
Every other rematch like this has been a blowout that was not exciting to watch at all.

Give another team a shot so it's at least exciting.
>> Anonymous
>>23427
Nope.

And all this conference bullshit needs to stop. Good solid teams are getting shafted because they can't get to anyone good. Who knows. Maybe Rutgers was really that good, but we'll never know.
And what the FUCK happened to the Razorbacks..
>> Spr0t
>>23434
West Virginia lost to Louisville, Louisville lost to Rutgers, and Rutgers lost to my grandmothers sewing circle. Get that Big East brainwashing out of your head right now.

Teams don't need to play each other a second time. Ohio State is better than Michigan. And since USC plays a pussy schedule, now is the time for the SEC winner to swoop in and play as #2.

What? You mean you didn't notice that Arkansas and Florida are currently #4 and #6 in the BCS? Don't you think the team that wins will jump into the top 2?

And hey... I fucking HATE the SEC. But there it is.
>> Anonymous
>>23467
Oh, you want to play the chain of losses game? Fine.

Arkansas lost to USC. USC lost to Oregon State, a team that is pretty much on Cincinnati's level.

Florida lost to Auburn. Auburn lost to Georgia. Georgia lost to both Kentucky AND Vanderbilt.

This chain of losses shit doesn't prove anything, and if it did, it would hurt your cause more than it would help it.
>> Spr0t
>>23470
If the BCS has taught us anything, is that the earlier in the season a loss, the less the pollsters give a shit.
>> Anonymous
bump for controversy
>> Anonymous
Go Trojans.
2 more victories and we are back in the championship game for the fourth time in four years... fucking amazing
USC's young though. i fear costly mistakes due to relative inexperience might hurt the team against the Irish.
>> Anonymous
so if USC lose to ND or UCLA who plays Ohio?
>> Anonymous
>>23746

no one.
>> Anonymous
Florida or maybe Arkansas. people will say Notre Dame but thats just impossible what with the Michigan result.
lol at the wolverines not having any more games to play...not even the creampuffs that surrounded their Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Wisconsin (lol the tough badgers)
>> Anonymous
I say we have every top ranked, one loss team all play Ohio St. at the same time.
>> Anonymous
I hope with every FIBER OF MY BEING that ND not only loses, but gets trounced by SC this week. If they get a BCS bid over a more deserving team, or even worse, somehow beat SC and have magical bullshit happen and get up to #2, i'm going to throw a fifth at the television (although OSU would beat them 70-3 anyways)
>> Anonymous
Why not just proclaim Ohio State the National Champion now and have Michigan play someone for #2?
>> Anonymous
     File :-(, x)
USC VS ND?

I hope Brady Quin drops 600 yards and throws at least 6 touchdown passes in order to get his due for the heisman race. I DO think that troy smith is a fantastic QB and all the weight that people put on him for hiesman is called for, but with BQ's numbers he deserves a shot and if not for his AWFUL performance against michigan and the first half of the michigan state game (almost made up for for with his ledgendary comeback) he would have it already.

As for the game, us domers know that we probobly wont get number two but slot we DONT EVEN DESERVE IT. Chuck wiess is doing good things with irish football but after barely escaping a losses to B-class teams like M State, North Carolina and UCLA (jesus that was horrible)Notre dame still earned its bowl spot, but not a shot for teh win.
>> Anonymous
who did USC lose to...

Oregon State...who the fuck is that?
>> Anonymous
>>23782
The only way ND would get #2 is if Arkansas beats Florida in the SEC championship and ND beats SC by about 60. Other than that, it ain't happening. ND is trying to play spoiler to USC's Championship aspirations, and set themselves up for a better BCS game, thats about it.
>> Anonymous
Okay, yeah, it sucks that ND lost tonight, it was shitty day for Irish RECEIVERS. Defense stepped up and the offense failed to capitalize. USC will bump prolly play OSU but, I GUARANTEE that OSU will kick the shit out of them. I think a Michigan ND rematch for the Rose Bowl would be WAY better than OSU and USC. It's a fact that the Notre Dame team now is better than the team that lost to Michigan earlier this season.
>> Anonymous
Michigan, quite honestly would kick the crap out of any other team in the NCAA. SEC? Over rated as fuck. Someone said that the Big Ten played a cream puff schedule, wtf, at least we're not like the rest of the goddamn nation and need 3 bye weeks to recover, lrn2playw/obyes kthx.
>> Anonymous
although I'm a michigan fan, I must say I was really impressed with the way USC ridiculously whipped on Notre Dame. As much as I'd like to see Michigan in the national championship game, I actually wouldn't mind watching USC playing Ohio State. What I don't want to see is the silly rematch between Michigan and Notre Dame. I'd rather see Michigan play another 10-1 team honestly.
>> Anonymous
WFT? SEC can whip the shit out of the Big Ten any time. How many decent teams can you name in the Big Ten? Ohio State, Michigan, and Wisconsin. SEC? Florida (11-1), Auburn (10-2), Arkansas (10-2), LSU (10-2), Tennessee (9-3)
Also, if we look at the Bowl records for each conference from the past five years we'll see that the SEC is 19-15 and the Big Ten is 16-18.
Also since this is a recent example, I'd like to compare the Big Ten's 8-5 Purdue team with the SEC's 6-6 Alabama team by way of the Hawaii Warriors. Alabama vs. Hawaii final score 25-17 Alabama wins. Purdue vs. Hawaii 42-35 Hawaii wins.
>> Anonymous
>>24011
That was the first game of the year though, Hawaii was significantly better last night than they were in the first weeks of the season.

Bucky here/ I just wanted to let you know that you can trash every other team in the Big Ten.(hell, they fucking deserve it. Only 5 teams have a winning record) But don't trash ma badgers, K? They whooped up on Auburn last year in the Capital One Bowl, and this year they're going right back to the Capital One Bowl to take on another SEC opponent. If it weren't for Wisconsin, Ohio State, and Michigan, the BigTen would be pathetic.
>> Anonymous
>>24045
Sorry guys forgot to mention they haven't scheduled Ohio State in 2 years and they don't schedule Ohio State and Michigan in the same year. Also when I said they whooped up on Auburn I failed to mention it was 24-10 and only two years prior they defeated us 28-14 :(. I also won't mention our losing record to SEC teams in bowl games 1-5 but you don't need to know that. Oh and did I tell you about our impressive 30-24 victory over 2-10 Illinois?
>> Anonymous
>>24045
lol Badgers powerhouse non-conf schedule of Bowling Green, Western Illinois, and 1-AA SD State. And it took them till midway through the 3rd quarter before they could score on the 1-AA team that currently has a 2-9 record.
>> Anonymous
>>24060
Actually It was an impressive victory considering the fact that P.J. Hill was knocked out of the game in the first quarter and the Badgers rallied from being down 24-0 in the third quarter to winning the game. Maybe we should talk about Ohio States stunning win over 2-10 illinois by the score of 21-14...

And I am sick of people talking about their schedule. YOU SHOULDN'T FAULT THE TEAM, THEY HAVE TO PLAY THE SCHEDULE THEY ARE GIVEN. They had one loss-vs. #2 Michigan, a game in which they were winning after 2 quarters. And look at Boise State's schedule. WOW one game against a major conference opponent. AND MICHIGAN!!!! They played essentially the same schedule as Wiconwin, except they played Vandy in the non conference. WOW. The worst team in the SEC what a tough game. The only meaningful game they played was a loss to Ohio State.

>>24120

Or Michigan's absolte killing of Notre Dame at home. Wisconsin beat Illinois by only 6 you fuckin hypocrite.

Well, USC is #2, good ol voter bias. Congrats on this years title game. Ohio State 70 USC 10. Because USC has zero chance. A rematch would of been much better. There isn't one team besides Ohio State (and barely at home) that can beat Michigan.

I think this year is proof enough we need a playoff system of 8 teams. The 4 teams thta lose in the frist round could play each other in bowl games, maybe the highest ranked loser vs the lowest ranked loser and then the two middles. And then the 2 semifnal losers could play in a bowl game. Then of course the 2 finalist would be in the National Championship game.
>> Anonymous
After watching USC trash Notre Dame, they've got the #2 spot pretty much locked up. All they have to do is not lose next week.

But seriously, there should be a playoff system. Turn the BCS bowls into a 6 or 8-team playoff bracket.
>> Anonymous
>>24126
Voter bias? Against a Big Ten team? Haha, oh wow. You must be seriously fucking retarded. The mere fact Michigan remained #2 after losing shows voter bias TOWARDS Michigan if anything.

The only parties who want a rematch are Big Ten fans, playoff supporters who hope the ridiculousness of this match-up would finally create enough demand for a playoff system, and the Hype Machine.
>> Anonymous
if there was a true voter bias towards michigan USC wouldn't have closed in, i have michigan but i agree if you play well and barley lose, you are still #2
>> Anonymous
tell me fuckstick, who can beat Michigan besides Ohio State? USC can't even beat Oregon State.
>> Anonymous
>>24143
-Last Post was to him-
>> Anonymous
>>24146
USC
Florida
Texas
Arkansas
LSU
Nebraska
Louisville
Oklahoma
Auburn
Virginia Tech

Possibly Rutgers, West Virginia, Tennessee, and Boise State. Hell, Ball State came pretty close to beating Michigan, so Boise State stands a pretty good chance.

Michigan's only two "impressive" games were close because of the opponent's stupid mistakes. If Ohio State had not been so careless with the Ball, it wouldn't have been close. If Notre Dame had not committed 5 turnovers to Michigan's 1, the game probably would have been very close.
>> Anonymous
I don't recall anyone trashing the Badgers. They were one the "good teams" list.
>> Anonymous
>>24157
V. tech, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Louisville probable dont belong on that list. everything else i agree with. Michigan has been very unimpressive, and untested, for the majority of the season. i am glad a better team rightfully surpassed them in the rankings.
>> Anonymous
>>24160

USC has been untested even more so. This so called 4 game gauntlet. Oregon has like 4 losses, deserved to have another one. Cal has 3 losses now. Notre Dame had 1 game agaisnt a good team previously and got stomped at home. And UCLA wtf have they done.
>> Anonymous
>>24160
Except V tech has been playing wonderful ball, Oklahoma's rushing attack would crack through Michigan's defense and Nebraska beat an Identical Michigan team last year and they (the Huskers) have only gotten better since then.
>> Anonymous
Michigan is in no way identical to last year. Last year was an excuse for a football team. Shoulda been 6-6 except the miracle at PSU. This years team, may have the same people, but are playing much better.

As for the title game, its gonna be boring...no one can touch Ohio State this year.
>> Anonymous
>>24174

Michigan almost "touched" them, and I think USC is better than Michigan. Ohio St will (and should) be favored, but it should be a great game.
>> Anonymous
OP here

Who should Michigan play in the Rose Bowl?
>> Anonymous
>>24196
Of course, if USC loses to UCLA, it'll be USC-Michigan.

Barring that turn of events, the way I read the selection rules, the Rose Bowl picks two teams before any other bowl gets an at-large selection. After the no-brainer Michigan pick, the Rose would probably avoid the all-midwest rematch against Notre Dame and choose the Ark-Fla loser or possibly LSU. Louisville would be an interesting pick too, but they probably don't travel well enough to suit the Rose Bowl.
>> Anonymous
>>24209
i dont know but i keep hearing that rose bowl officials are still seriously considering the Irish what with their national draw power and all... fucking bcs. i would so hate this shitty system if the Trojans got screwed, but thankfully they are right where they deserve to be
>> Anonymous
>>24224
Yeah, ND is still a possibility. ND would be a mortal lock if it weren't for the fact that it's a replay of a regular season game. I hope that fact is enough to dissuade the Rose Bowl committee from choosing the Irish.

Louisville (or Boise State, for that matter) IMO is a great matchup, but I don't see the committee making those unconventional picks. So if not ND, let's say it's Florida if Arkansas beats them, and LSU if Florida beats Arkansas.
