Guys, the Mountain West isn't UNDERRATED, they have two fucking teams in the top 25 don't they? UnderRATED would imply that their teams aren't rated as high as they should be, and where it stands I think they're just about where they should be placed. There's no way a BYU or a Utah contends with a USC or a Mizzou.

Remind me, which conf is back to back defending nat'l champions again? And currently has five teams residing in the top ten? Exactly. But by all means, enjoy losing another worthless BCS bowl to Boise or some such, your only chance is to somehow matchup with the ACC in the battle of who could care less.

Hey, remember when some SEC teams lost to some shitty teams, and the SEC fags were telling us conference matchups weren't important?

It was like, just two weeks ago.

BCS is a joke and everything associated with it is a joke. The BCS is too busy loving the blowjobs they give SEC teams that they give them extremely high and undeserved early numbers. Then, SURPRISE, since each and every one of the SEC teams is of equal levels of mediocrity the high teams lose to some derp team that was properly ranked outside of the top 25.

But, if they knock top team further then one or two levels they know they cannot continue to give blow jobs. So top team only drops 2 spots and climbs back up to number one after beating generic SEC team 2 and 3 in future weeks in 'good games.' They are good because, from the outside viewer, the two teams that play one another suck equally, thus making it close.

AND, not to forget DERP team number one that started this madness in the first place, they shoot fifteen billion ranks up to number five because they are in the freaking SEC and they now are in the same position of it not mattering how much they suck due to their conference as the team they beat.

tl;dr, fuck you SEC

I love reading opinions from people who are butthurt the SEC is so much better than their conference.

The only way to really end this conference debate once and for all is to have a playoff at the end of the season. I wonder what all the SEC haters are going to whine and complain about after SEC dominates that too.

It's hard to say who is the best because outside of 4 out of conference games at the start of the season (which are usually rivalry games, or terrible opponents) they only play each other for the whole fucking season. And then they go to the bowl games, and HURR HURR OUR TEAM IS BETTER BECAUSE WE PLAYED BETTER DURING ONE GAME.

As fucking terrible as it is, MLB or hell even NHL do it far better than NFL or BCS because choking on one fucking game won't instantly make you LOL THE WORST TEAM EVAR SO OVERRATED.
>> Anonymous
best- 1. SEC, 2. Big 12.
worst Big 11.
best team USC, and is in neither conference.
Also, Big East and ACC sucks, but Big 11 is worst.

The only thing I want to say is the big 11 should have already lost their bcs standing.
>> Anonymous
I'll actually change my opinion. I said Big XII was best before, but it probably is SEC. Reason being their "bad teams" are better than the fucking jokes in the Big XII like Baylor or Iowa State.
>> MWCMWCMWCMWCMWCMWCMWCMWCMWCMWCMWC Anonymous
MWC isnt underrated, but i see why people say that its because until 2004 when the utes busted the bcs no one had ever heard of the Mountain West Conference... i think there is a team who can compete for a bcs bowl every year. I hope eventually they one every year. Hell... Even make it a bcs conference. a lot of the teams are very competitive and the games are always worth watching. Props to the MWC!!!!!
>> Anonymous
>>348161
Arkansas and Mississippi State = Baylor and Iowa State

I would agree that SEC has an edge on the Big 12 from the middle to the bottom, but Oklahoma and Missouri are better than any team in the SEC.
>> Anonymous
>>348162
ur trying 2 hard. that being said, the mountain west is still better than the big 11. but that is like two rats with aids fighting in the gutter over who is moar lame.
>> Anonymous
The only reason the MWC is so underated is because until 2004 no one had ever heard of them. The utes had to bust the bcs that year and even now the MWC doesnt get much national exposure. im sure after this year will be a great boost though. The mountain west always has great games because every team competes. Props to the Utes and the MWC ready to crash the party again!
>> Anonymous
All the MWC needs to do to eclipse the Big East is invite Boise State, Tulsa, Fresno State then kick out Wyoming and New Mexico.
>> Anonymous
the only team i could see them kick out would be san diego state and maybe colorado state theyre both usually at the bottom of the conference every year. every team comes out and competes though
>> Anonymous
>>348172
San Diego market is too valuable and Colorado State is usually one of the better teams in the conference.
>> Anonymous
Pay attention, you idiots.

Underrated: Mountain West
Overrated: Big East (the last few years), Pac 10 (no elite teams but USC, yet they claim to be a great conference)
Best: SEC (last 2 national championships, 4-0 in BCS bowls the last 2 years with all blowouts, most BCS champs of any conference)

The ACC isn't very good -- no BCS championships since FSU (lol), poor record in recent BCS games, Miami sucks since joining, etc.

The Big 12 is a good conference but only Texas and Oklahoma have won BCS titles (and only one each), Oklahoma is crappy in BCS games the last few years, etc.
>> Anonymous
Acc is overated?

everyone has been railing on them the whole season
>> Anonymous
>>348311
I've started to call the Pac-10 the Pac-1 (someone else coined that term) after that terrible showing with the MWC.
>> Anonymous
while i want to agree with you and say the ACC is over-rated, i cant let myself say over rated because it's an opinion of the minority taken as fact if most people believed they sucked there's no reason to say over-rated, but then people use overrated like it would work in an argument of facts

SEC doesn't play non conference BCS teams on the road if it's more than 100 miles from their home stadium. Look at the top SEC teams and try to find one that routinely schedules non conference BCS opponents on the road. They are few and far between. Did you know this game with Georgia going to Arizona State is the first non conference BCS opponent Georgia has played west of the Mississippi River in like 60+ years?

Speaking of Georgia, why is this team still ranked #3? Because of the win over powerhouse Hawai'i last year? Or is it because of the 14 points scored in a 7 point win over unranked powerhouse South Carolina? Seriously, enough with this SEC bias. It's not like the media isn't already balls deep in the SEC. You watch ESPN coverage of College Football, and the SEC gets more airtime than ANY other conferences. Shit, you could probably put the air time of a couple conferences together and it still won't beat the time the SEC gets. And why is this? It's not like the top teams in the nation are in the SEC this year. Because everyone dwells in the past.

Before the SEC fanboys and whatnot flood this thread with hate replies to me. I'll admit, the SEC on paper is the best conference currently in college football, BARELY. But that doesn't change the fact that the SEC is tremendously overrated. Hate to break it to you, but the past is the past. Past accomplishments are absolutely worthless when the next season comes around. Look at Florida for example, so good right? You know they lost to Michigan last year too right? Yeah, Michigan. So that means they are going to lose again this year right? Idiots.
>> Anonymous
Underrated: Big East because that's where my team is and i am blind to reality

That Florida team was 9-4. And you're acting like us SEC fans completely believe that SEC teams are unbeatable. That's certainly not the case dipshit, just take a look at what Tennessee did in week 1.

Also, WHY THE HELL would you risk losing your ranking by going way on the road if you have to face 4, 5, or even 6 ranked opponents every season in the SEC? That doesn't make logical sense if you're aiming for a trip to the NC. Quit BAWWWWING that they don't travel, they face those opponents in the BCS bowls.

UGA is ranked #3 because they're that good, plain and simple.

Wow, are you fucking stupid or something? NON CONFERENCE BCS TEAMS. Where did I mention anything about playing ranked teams? See, you're just the typical SEC fanboy with no reading comprehension skills whatsoever. And yes, you fanboys do think SEC teams are unbeatable. That's why you feel they can play any team in the nation and win. As long as it's either in their home stadium or at a "neutral" site right? (lol @ LSU's title games being played in New Orleans both years)

Georgia, so good they can only score 14 points on South Carolina? And win by one touchdown? Win over powerhouse Hawai'i last year? Haha, oh wow. Georgia will have at least 2 losses this year. Maybe 3.

Georgia with wins over Georgia Southern, Central Michigan, and South Carolina (barely lol).

Florida with win over Hawai'i and Miami(FL). (Hawai'i lol, and 26-3 win over Miami with Florida being at home? Wow, you know Texas A&M is favored against Miami this week too right.)

LSU with wins over App State and North Texas. (Damn, that's hardcore man)

Auburn with wins over Louisiana-Monroe, Southern Miss, and Mississippi State (3-2 win over MISSISSIPPI STATE, WHAT IN THE FUCK LOL)

And finally, Alabama, the only team that has done anything worthy. With a win over Clemson, Tulane and Western Kentucky. (I think we all saw Clemson's true colors though, and they are hardly the team they were thought to be)

It is going to be so funny when all these SEC teams drop.

>>348375
Holy shit, are you the one who's stupid? I mentioned that Non-Conference BCS teams are POTENTIAL LOSES, so why schedule them when you have a tough conference schedule (a la ranked teams). See you dumb nigger, I'm saying that SEC teams can be beaten. Nevertheless, the conference is by far the strongest from top to bottom.

South Carolina is a great football team, but again you're the one who's too blind to see that all the conference opponents have the potential to beat each other.
>> Anonymous
>>348391
It'll be so funny to see these Big XII teams drop. Texas Tech is playing TWO FCS teams. Oklahoma has only played Cincy, UT-Chat (LOL another FCS team for you guys too), and Washington (a fail Pac-10 team). Mizzou is like 'Bama because they played a little bit of a decent opponent (Illinois, Big10 which is at the level of the ACC right now) and then went back to playing Southeast Missouri State (who?) and a really shitty Nevada team (both at home).

Virtually all big conference teams do this to purposely inflate their rankings at the beginning of the year, because it's very hard to go from No.25 to No.1
>> Anonymous
>>348392

You changed your post, that's why my quote got fucked up. I was going to correct your initial 7-4 assessment of Florida's season, but I didn't. Anyways, you my friend, are the silly nigger. If the team is the best in the nation, they should be able to beat anyone. What's the matter? Afraid that leaving your home stadium to play someone non conference BCS might result in a loss? Because you aren't as good as everyone says you are? Yeah, that's what I thought bitch.

And come on, now you're going to tell me South Carolina is good? Haha. 1-2, 0-2 in the precious SEC conference. With a loss against VANDERBILT. OH LAWD. In b4 3-0.

>>348394
Vanderbilt, upset many teams in the past couple of years. Continue being blind to how good the teams are.

Yes, you stupid inbred piece of shit, an away game like that can result in a loss. Why the fuck are you so stupid and can't understand the logistics of trying to put yourself in a NC game. You lose a non-conference game and then possibly lose your shot at the NC. AGAIN, why not set yourself up to get a chance to play in the NC regardless of how good your team is?

>Because you aren't as good as everyone says you are?
Wow, jesus christ wow, read my posts carefully. I don't care what "everyone else" says, I make judgments of teams based on stats, highlights, and the games I can watch. The conference is the strongest, but ANY team in college football can be beaten.
>> Anonymous
>>348393

Personally, I'd like to see no rankings until the 5th week. Sure, the same can be applied to the Big 12 too as it is applied to SEC. But Oklahoma went to play @ Washington. Non conference BCS opponent who is decent. Which by the way, Washington's first three games? Oregon (before the starting quarterback ate it), BYU, and Oklahoma. That's a pretty rough start. So while traveling to play at Washington is nothing like traveling to play at USC. It is definitely more then almost losing to South Carolina.

>>348403

Irony of a SEC fanboy calling someone else an inbred piece of shit. See Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Lousiana, etc. LOL

>Vanderbilt, upset many teams in the past couple of years. Continue being blind to how good the teams are.

Did you really just say Vanderbilt is a good team? Just stop posting man, you're making yourself look foolish.

Look dude. If you were really going by stats and whatnot in your assessment of what teams are the best. You wouldn't of sat there and told me >UGA is ranked #3 because they're that good, plain and simple.

Enjoy continuing to make yourself look foolish. I'm out for now.

How much shit have you looked at for Vandy, or are you sitting there just immediately responding with "Vandy has always sucked and therefore must suck now." Vandy beat South Carolina away last year when SC was No.6 (having only lost to No.2 LSU by 12, SC was 6-1 at the time), only lost to No.24 UGA by a field goal, and only lost by 1 point to No.20 Tenn. They have slowly been building a quality program since Bobby Johnson came. But please, continue to think you're winning this argument by calling me "foolish." Your logic is just utterly bulletproof.

My reasoning for UGA to be that high? UGA has yielded no more than 21 points (which was to GSU, but that was because Richt threw in his second and third string). Oklahoma let Cincy score more (26, but they probably threw in their second and third strings as well), but I feel that OU should be ranked No.2 at the moment.

Dude, I've lived in Kansas for the most part of elementary school and seen my fair share of idiotic morons who would give a run for the rednecks in the southeast a run for their money.

Here's an important point that people tend to overlook:

Rivalry atmosphere

If you're, say, Wisconsin, you might play 2 games all year in which there is truly a lot of intensity and passion on both sides. Maybe not even that many.

If you're, say, Florida, all of these are rivalry atmosphere type matchups: LSU, Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Florida State.

I live in California, by the way.
