does anyone remember when this team was struggling to win the NL WEST???????? Oh that's right. Phils, world series.
>> Anonymous
Did they change the rules to if you win the first game, you automatically go to the World Series? If they did, I'm totally out of the loop.

marlin anderson at the vet? how is this relevant?
>> Anonymous
No, no one remembers, because they're in the National League Championship Series now and swept the team with the best record in the National League, including winning two on the road. Asking a team to apologize for their competition is beyond unreasonable (unless you're Hank Steinbrenner) and besides - the Phillies wouldn't be in the playoffs unless the Mets pull off an epic choke job for the second consecutive season.

THE FUCKING METS??? are you kidding me?? 3.5 games is NOT BLOWING A LEAD with 17 games left. Yea, lets not forget about Phillie winning 10 of 13 right?? That's like saying the Dodgers are in cuz the fucking DIAMONBACKS BLEW IT!!! YOUR A DBAG.

The Dodgers ARE in it because the D-bags blew it. We should have been buried when we lost eight in a row, but luckily the D-bags fucking sucked too. They were fucking HORRID over the last two months and if they kept winning the Dodgers don't get in with the record they finished with. LA only clinched the division with three games to go.

ZOMG NLCS IS OVER THE PHILLIES ARE UP 1-0 PANIC DODGERS FANS PANIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey dickhead... the Phillies were in first place in the NL East for abour 2/3 of the season... just because you only watched the last month or so doesn't mean you know shit... choke on a cock and die...

Also:
1-0 Phillies

You know that entire two months of choking to death the Dbacks did? Condense that into three games and you've got the NLDS.

>>393887
They still managed to get close to losing at the end as well. Don't pretend they didn't do their own choke at the end. The Mets just choked worse.

Who do you all think has the better pitching staff? Rays or Phil's? WS is gonna be decided on it.

Starters = Rays
Bullpen = Phillies

It will be interesting.

No... they didn't. They ran their division all year long. They were only down for the period of about a month from mid august to mid september or so....

They finished out the season with a 17-7 record in September... the Mets were 12-12 in September...

Face the facts, the Phillies earned their spot in the playoffs.

You're all just haters because it's the trendy thing to do to hate Philly... but we'll see how that works out for you...

Hamels > Shields
Kazmir > Myers
Garza > Moyer

Sonnanstine and Blanton are roughly the same amount of fail.

Bullpen is definitely Phillies, though.

If you think about it, that's pretty dumb logic. It doesn't matter when the Mets lost or when the won. At the end of the season, Phillies had a better record. Switch around their games, their wins and losses, and what difference would it make? Nobody would call it a choke, but they still won't be in the playoffs.

Phillies FTW

I don't know much about Garza, but I think a lot of people downplay Moyer's talent. He was a 15 game winner this year and literally didn't have a single bad game. Moyer is actually a GREAT pitcher, depending on the ump. I know, I know, you can't blame the ump, but Moyer paints the corners and if the ump has a small strike zone, Moyer is dead. His stuff won't ever overpower anyone so he pitches by location, and if that strike zone is tiny, he's basically forced to throw batting practice.

Apparently you don't know how to read baseball statistics???

Myers > Kasmir
Moyer > Garza

Now, I'll give you that moyer only has 4 innings pitched and that probably has a lot to do with why he has better numbers than Garza...

But Myers > Kasmir... no matter how you wanna break that down.

You are all in denial that the Philadelphia Phillies are the best team in Major League Baseball

This. Also, you don't get to be 46 and still in the majors by sucking.

This... except he had 16 wins this season =).

My bad, even better though. 45 and still pitching well enough for 16 wins. I've been "praying" all night that the Post-AAA Meyers shows up tonight. If that happens... 2-0 Philly going into LA.
