It's the F1 of motorcycles. The highest level of technology in bikes on earth, all prototypes and handmade. 800 cc's engine, 210 mph, all the major manufacturers involved.

Here's a video

didn't watch, but isn't this concept like... irresponsibley dangerous? In before the 13-year olds "YEAH THATS WHAT MAKES IT SUPER AWESOME" Dangerous doesn't make something super awesome in an of itself.

Only 1 racer has died in the last 5 years of competition.
>> Anonymous
>>422381

And that DOESN'T strike you as irresponsible or dangerous? The fact that someone fucking DIED? RECENTLY?
>> Anonymous

So NHL is dangerous and irresponsible?
>> Anonymous

when you wreck you just slide into the gravel or air fence. The only injuries that happen anymore are wrist injuries from landing in a highside.

I think so, but I'm an american, so I obviously don't appreciate the history of the sport. Unless ULTRAFAST MOTORCYCLE VROOM ZOOM has hockey's history, I have a hard time swallowing the comparison.

No it doesn't. People die in all kinds of sports and all the athletes who participate in motogp know the risks and take them with a clear mind.

Btw, you seem pretty freaked out by motorcycles and death, you wouldn't happen to be my mom would you?

There's been motorcycling racing since 1909 in the Isle of Man Ireland, they had a motorcycle race in Indianapolis in 1908.

I just have a hard time with dudes getting on top of flying fuckrockets and going 200+ mph. Maybe it's just my 4channer reflexes, but that would be certain death for most people, more often than not.

It strikes me that danger is the principle element of the sport (ib4notasport), and that seems kind of irresponsible to me. It's a fundamental thing, not a practical thing.

i've been to all of the laguna seca races since the gp came back to america

fun stuff

>>but that would be certain death for most people, more often than not.

It's not, the vast majority of motorcycle racers live long lives. Racing as hard as you can on a track is quite a bit safer than riding carefully on the street.

Finally, a fellow fan. This years race was insane!!! Were you by the corkscrew at all? That pass by Rossi was unfuckingbelievable.

You obviously know nothing about anything motorsport related. leave the thread immediately with your fragile faggotry.

K. Just thought I'd drive this thread with dissenting, ignorant opinion. Was genuinely curious, but I'll gtfo now.

you know i had passes to be by the corkscew photography area, but i staked out with my brother over on the hill in front of turns two and three

oh man my brother and i were headed down to cannery row one of the nights and we stop at a stop light and who pulls up to us in an escalade but rossi? my brother got his hard card signed, but i was in too much shock to get mine off before the light tunred green

but i did get to take this picture with the front piece of rossi's bike

Alessandro Zanardi for the motherfucking win. Not just for The Pass, but for everything he's achieved since his accident. Proper legend.

well see you get paddock passes and track tickets, and those are just on regular paper

but some people get hard cards that're made of plastic and whatnot and they get you into more places

Anyone else got motogp.com already pre-payed from last weekends race? Dani Pedrosa is going to take this one with Lorenzo second

Lets say that a little better... Since motogp became more modernized 40 some odd years ago there have only been 2 deaths. Anyone interested should go to their local bestbuy and find the documentary Faster. Its the most awesome documentary you'll ever see.
>> Anonymous
Faster is mostly about the old 500cc 2 stroke days when the bikes were more unruly and FASTER. They changed to 990cc and now to 800cc... and I believe they are changing again to 600 cc soon?

Just so you know there are more serious injury's in Nascar than in MotoGP racing, Including 125, 250 and 800's.
