When the western world first became interested in eastern martial arts (18, 1900s?), some westerners noticed shaolin monks practicing boxing. When they said 'wow, wtf' the monks told them 'we use western boxing because it has the fastest, hardest punches.'
So to say one martial art is better than the other is silly. Not only is it completely dependent on the skill of the individual, not to mention countless other factors, it is flexibility that counts.
You put water in the cup, it becomes the cup.
