A Polish politician wants to withdraw Podolki's citizenship after he scored twice against his country of birth.
Miroslaw Orzechowski, president of the national-catholic "League of Polish Families", demands to draw in Podolski's Polish passport, since Poland's law doesn't handle double-citizenship.
Many politicians have criticized Orzechowski's demand, others have pointed their fingers towards the officials of the Polish Football Association, because Podolski plays for Germany; not for Poland.

A sloppy translation, but readable I hope.

Polands version of NeoCons?

>>>Polands version of NeoCons?

Nope, it's hard to clasify them, because most of them are complete retards and not even in a "durka-durka way", they are just retards (for example - they openly declared something close to "we won't let German spit in our faces, fuck you bitch" when pope Benedict XVI didn't let one bishop (who was accused of being an undercover agent of communist regime) to become a metropolitan. Anyway they are idiots and people know it - Orzechowski and his LPR got less than 1,3% in last elections. Saying Polsish politican is an exeggeration, should be Polish clown. Polish version of Neocons is PiS.

his polish family was there to watch this match. He said in one interview: "Due to respect for them I decided to not be happy with those goals". (translated from polish into engrish).

Wikipedia -

Early Life

"Podolski was born to Krystyna and Waldemar Podolski, former Polish football professional, in the Upper Silesian industrial town of Gliwice (Gleiwitz), Poland, which used to be in Germany. In 1987, when Lukas Podolski was only two years old, his family moved from Poland to West Germany as his parents as ethnic Germans were able to receive a pass from West Germany. Podolski grew up in Bergheim, North Rhine-Westphalia, and later in Pulheim, both near Cologne."

The "ethnic German" and "lived in Germany since 2 years old" parts make me think he has every right to choose Germany over Poland.
