Houston's got a brutal stretch of road games coming up. Good Luck getting in the playoffs.

Protip: They've already secured a playoff seat. They would have to lose pretty much every game form here on out to not get in.

Protip: The 8th seed is 4 1/2 games back, and there's 20 games to go.

Which makes you a fucking idiot.

Protip: the 8th seed isn't going to have a better record than the rockets for the rest of the season, especially since the rockets' April lineup is a joke.

PROTIP : the Rockets still have to play the Clippers, Kings, and Sonics each twice. they'll be fine.

wow that's a lot of protips

anyway, by now, you gotta be pretty retarded to think the rockets would need luck to qualify for the playoffs. they should have no problems finishing with anywhere from 51-56 wins and make the playoffs.
>> Anonymous
>>32321

Let's see. 2 against the Clippers, 2 against Seattle, 2 against Sacramento, 1 each against Portland, Minnesota, Charlotte, and Atlanta.

Aside from Spurs/Celtics/Lakers, they have about as much chance of winning the other 7 as anyone else in the league. I'm not worried about them.

They could win fuckin 30 games in a row but it doesn't matter..

She-Mac is a choker and without Yao, they can't beat any team in the west, in a 7 game series..

>Disregard that, I don't know who Alston, Scola, Head and Landry are
>> Anonymous
>>32345

Skip is one of fav players but he's inconsistent..Landry and Scola are fittin in nicely..

But in the west there's no way your gettin past the first round without your best player..
T-Mac's gonna get injured too..

this will be the first team to win 20 games in a row and not win the Finals

this will be the first team to win 20 games and not even make the playoffs

Clearly, you did not grow up watching Houston teams.

Trust me, it won't matter.

I've been watching Houston teams (in all sports) get bounced out of the playoffs since before you were born.

spursfag here. I wouldn't count them out on that basis. They remind me a lot of the Spurs in the 2003 season, a lot of young players/rookies who no one expected to get anywhere, but got into a strong niche and ended up winning the title.

The most noticeable difference to me is McGrady (from what I've seen) has adapted his play style to make his teammates much more effective. Before, whenever we played them, I knew it'd be over for them if McGrady couldn't pull a big night. But now you have their other point guard averaging 20+ a game and everyone else scoring as well. Also, Rick Adelman is a pretty experienced coach and even in his first year with the rockets it's obvious he knows how to make it work for them.

Not saying they'll necessarily win the title, but you're an idiot if you don't think they're making the playoffs or getting past the first round.

Olajuwon and Drexler would like a word with you.

>>32357
neither have you apparently

houston teams are the best at blowing down guys only to choke right at the edge of winning stuff and going home losers

see houston cougars 1983 and 4, houston oilers 1992, houston rockets 1993, houston astros 2005

>>32370

they choked big time in college in houston

two #1 rankings, two ncaa championship appearances, two losses
>> Anonymous
>>32372
This was exactly my point.

Anyone who's lived in Houston can guarantee you, we EXPECT them to choke in the playoffs. You cannot play in the playoffs just like you did in the regular season, and expect to win. It's a different animal.

Mike Scott, Nolan Ryan, Warren Moon, Biggo, Bagwell, Berkman... they've all learned this. Now.

the first ever Rockets game i attended was game 3 of the '95 western conference finals; i was 11 years old. yeah i'm pretty sure i grew up watching the Rockets.

you don't realize what winning 19 games in a row means, do you? there's a reason only 4 teams in the history of the NBA have reached that milestone. i'm not saying they're gonna blow through everybody and win the title. i'm saying they will make the playoffs. what that has to do with growing up watching houston teams, i really have no idea.

if you're referring to those mediocre Cuttino Mobley/Steve Francis/Bryce Drew/Walt Williams days, i hope you realize the situation right now is a tad different.

it's kinda funny that people are talking about the rockets and choking, when the rockets are the only team in the city to have ever won a championship. in fact, two of them.

LOL WUT indeed

but like i was saying, brining up Mike Scott and Warren Moon and Phi Slamma Jamma just doesn't apply here. the Rockets are the only team in the city to have ever won the biggest prize, and somehow this 19 game (and counting) win streak makes people like>>32357think the rockets are gonna miss the playoffs? it makes no sense.

Attention Mr. Biggest-Houston-Sports-Fan, The Comets and Dynamo have both won championships in their respective leagues.
