SELIG: "We will not resume until we have decent weather conditions."

SELIG: "Let me say this. I know this is one of those situations where it's easy to second-guess. We sat tonight with people who have been with baseball longer than I have. And all of them, we went through the room, and all of them, every single one of them, I had a nagging fear but I... if the weather report was right the game would be over now."

SELIG: "This is not the way to end a World Series."

Q: What's the likelihood they play tomorrow?
SELIG: "No idea."

who wants to win that way you fagget!? both teams should just agree to a do-over game because starting a game in the sixth inning days from now is just fucking retarded honestly and anticlimatic as shit! honestly i can't beleive this! they should have just cancelled the game from the get-go if they knew there was going to be bad weather, or have just not suspended the game at all and just played in the bad weather. fuck why do we always have such bad luck :(
>> Anonymous
Q: Why was there no infield fly call?

TSCHIDA: "The infield fly rule calls for whether the player is comfortable under the ball. If he has to focus on catching the ball, the rule does not apply. One of the things we're overlooking here is the players were truly professional through this whole thing. Everyone played, no one complained about the conditions. That usually happens in these situations."

>> Anonymous
Best thing that happens is the game is played on Wednesday so Hamels can pitch a game 7 if needed.
>> Bitch
Yeah, I was pissed when the run scored too - but even MORE pissed that the run still stands after waiting for mid-inning to call the game. You can't do that. You can't say "The top of the sixth proved to us the game's conditions were too bad to continue. So we let the top of the sixth stand and the bottom of the sixth is postponed for when the situation is better."

"Well we saw Cole Hamels unable to pitch the way he usually did because he could not grip the ball, and it led to a run. We also saw Jimmy Rollins unable to field properly because of the weather. So we did not allow the Rays to go out there in those conditions because they would get fucked up and if the Rays lose we don't have anyone to buttfuck us, because we're fucking homofags for the Rays, even though they have no fanbase or market, play in an old Hockey stadium, and are drawing in no one to the series and ruining the ratings. We still fucking love them. And David Price? We suck his cock every night, even though he doesn't do anything special and the Phillies's bullpen has been amazing.

FUCK YOU BASEBALL
>> Anonymous
>>435707

Yes, the umpires so love the Rays they gave Kazmir a generous strike zone and didn't blow the Rollins tag call at all.

bigger question now..

who are the pitchers going into tomorrow?

Phillies fans seem to think that rain somehow doesn't fall on the Rays.

Like the rain was only falling on the Phillie players, and the umps eyes, and the Rays were basking in sunshine.

This. Remember that it was raining like fucking cats and dogs BEFORE the top of the 6th. the problem with ALL UMPS is when you start off the game wild, and throwing alot of balls, you don't usually get the benefit of the doubt on close calls.

I am a soxfag , I don't care who wins , but all of the umpires have been complete shit. Hallion's strike zone was all over the place game 4. I went to school with his son's so I was looking forward to seeing him get to officiate a world series, but he is just terrible.

pic related.
>> Anonymous
>>435853

iawtc. i think the umpires have been equally terrible though. they have blown everything.
>> Anonymous
>>435853
Agreed. It's one thing if they have a wacky strike zone as long as it's consistent so the pitchers can compensate. The umps seem to be favoring the Phillies with their calls, handing out strikes to obviously outside or high pitches while calling balls on pitches from Rays pitchers that are less outside.
>> Anonymous
>>435872
The funny thing is, i've never seen a FoxTrax pitch that was called a strike out of the zone, unless it was swung at.
>> Anonymous
>>435872

As another outside observer, I don't really see how you could think they were favoring one team or another. Was Kazmir being squeezed? Yes. Is the Fox Pitchtrax the gospel? Hell no. The umpire behind the plate was doing the same to the Phillies. It is just a terrible crew, doing a terrible job with everything.

Bud Selig is a pile of shit... if it was going to be suspended regardless of score, it should have been suspended after a full inning, either after the 5th, or after the 6th, but the fact that the Rays had an extra half-inning to play while the Phillies ace pitcher admitted that he COULD NOT THROW HIS CHANGEUP is bullshit.

MLB really dropped the ball on this bullshit....

The first pitch should have never been thrown to fucking begin with... they knew it would rain like this... do they not have color on their tvs? Did they not see the large green blob hovering overhead? My news station knew it would rain all night, i'd have to assume they knew too.... this is such bullshit.

Budd Selig should be killed.
>> Anonymous
>>436098
I agree... this is a bullshit situation and it is unfair to both teams...

MLB fucked EVERYONE. The Phillies, The Rays, the fans, the ticketholders... they fucked everyone right up the ass.

As far as I'm concerned this is almost as bad for the sport of baseball as the Kimbo Slice v. Shamrock fight was for EliteXC... if baseball was as poor as EliteXC, this would be the end of MLB as we know it...

Bud Selig is a horrid commissioner...

Have you forgotten?:
"Strike 3, take your base!"
The diving glove toss out at first by Jamie Moyer
Jimmy Rollins getting hit by a pitch and not getting a base

The umpires have been fucking horrible... not only all WS, but all Postseason long!

Quit your bawwing and get over it... the shitty officiating has nothing to do with Bud Selig being a pile of shit commissioner who is ruining the sport... except for the fact that he has the power to do something about said horrid officiating and is chosing not to.

If the game had been suspended before they played the top of the 6th the Rays would have lost.

>> Anonymous
>>436175
Dude... are you not considering what happened last night the phillies getting ROYALLY fucked?

The Phillies are the home team, and they got to play 5 innings of ball, while the rays got to play 6, giving the rays a chance to tie the game off of the phillies' hands-down best pitcher who could only throw fastballs effectively because of the weather....

afterwards, we come to find out that buddy boy selig decided that he was going to forgo the rule book, and suspened the game to be resumed later, regardless of the score... so they could have fucking called it after the fifth when it was 2-1 and each team had played an exactly equal and fair ammount of baseball...

Also, when asked after the game when he thought the game should be called, Trevor Miller said that he though it should have been called after the 5th when he saw Jimmy Rollins loose that ball in the wind... The Rays own pitcher said that it should have been called before they got a chance to tie it...

fucking ridiculous

baww all you want, but BOTH teams are getting the shaft in this series... this is an embarassment to the sport of baseball (which is already an embarassment lately to begin with)
>> Anonymous
>>436177
no they wouldn't have... by the rules they would have, but selig said that he had already made up his mind to suspend the game, regardless of the score...
>> Anonymous
>>436179
Miller said it should have been suspended in the 4th... so yeah, even better
>> Anonymous
If the game had been suspended in the 4th Phillyfags would have bitched that they suspended it when the Rays' pitcher was struggling and Hamels was cruising, thus letting the Rays get out of having to face Hamels anymore.
>> Anonymous
You can't suspend the game in a half-inning.

The other team should have to pitch and field in the same mud and standing water that the home team did. Upton scored on a ball spraying a rooster-tail behind it, and body-surfed to home plate. Completely ridiculous.

Just another travesty in a league run by used car salesmen.
