Oh hi.

Marian Gaborik here to remind you, I'll be happily hoisting the Stanley Cup over my head in a few months time.

Later faggots.
>> Anonymous
Hey that wasn't nice
>> Anonymous
What about the Maple Leafs....uh....oh..
>> Anonymous
'Lo, Marian.

I'm here to remind you that you're in the same conference as the Red Wings, Stars, Ducks, Sharks, Flames, Canucks and that you're going to get injured again like usual.

Also, you and Rolston are the only two players on your team that can score.

Have fun golfing, Mr. Gaborik.

2008 STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS
>> Anonymous
The Cup's going to stay in California (Anaheim or San Jose) and this depresses me as much as it does all of you.
>> Anonymous
>>15896
That's not nice. What if they make it to the Stanley Cup. Then he will have his chance to shine...losing to Ottawa, New Jersey, Montreal, New York, Pittsburg or Philadelphia. Also, Stanley Cup Champions and your captain is Demitra? Come on. The Kings have a better captain...fuckkkk
>> Anonymous
>>15920

There is no way the Sharks are going to win the Cup this year. I would love to see it happen, but for the most part they've been playing like absolute shit while getting lucky. Very inconsistent. Just look at their home record..
>> Anonymous
>>15942
If they get it together for the playoffs they're the best team in hockey. Nobody comes close on paper, besides maybe Calgary.
>> Anonymous
>>15944
WHAT THE FUCK? CALGARY SUCKS COCK ON PAPER.
>> Anonymous
>>15920
The Sharks are my favorite team but I don't think they're even close to winning the cup. Most of the players besides Thornton are too crappy to play the fucking trap and still score goals.
>> Anonymous
Not going to beat the Devils or the best goalie in history
>> Anonymous
>>15970
Yeah right, the Devils will lose in the first or second round like always, and they have even less talent than they used to
>> Anonymous
>>16453

If Brodeur is on his game (and not worn out from playing every fucking game during the season), the Devils will win the Cup. Especially if they pick up a top-six center before tomorrow's deadline
>> Lambchop's Death Legion
>>16453

>Like always

just like 1995, 2000, and 2003 rite?
>> Anonymous
>>16461

don't forget 2001, when they went 7 games with the Avs

if it's anything like last season, this will be the case

Those were just exceptions.

Lol Forsberg's going to Colorado.
>> Anonymous
>>16477

Forsberg is old and has a bum foot. Good riddance.

Predicting the Stanley Cup is like predicting the exact day you're going to die.

On that note I think Anaheim has to be the favorite to repeat this year. I'm not even an Anaheim fan but they're too good.

>>16507

9-1 since Selannes return? A menacing blue-line? Massive scoring prowess? If they add another top 6 forward you might as well just hand them the cup.

They'll take over top spot in the league soon enough unless Detroits defense magically recovers.
>> Anonymous
>>16532
Did you forget their winning "streak" when S.Niedermayer came back? Oh yeah, it was followed by a 6 game losing streak.
>> Anonymous
>>16532
>>16540
Once Doug Weight comes back they should be a pretty strong team.
>> Anonymous
>>15923
>and your captain is Demitra
It's too bad the Captaincy rotates and Nick Shultz is the captain this month.
>> Anonymous
OH HI YOUR TEAM HAS NO SECOND LINE AND YOUR STAR IS MADE OUT OF GLASS
>> Anonymous
Detroit just signed McCarty again. They've got the grit line back (McCarty-Draper-Maltby) and they're doing really good. Ottawa is really good as well, they've been struggling, but their roster is very very solid. Either one of those teams will win it, and I call it.
>> Anonymous
I really want Colorado to win it, but they gotta get outta they're slump that they're having right now...
>> Anonymous
>>16580
Ottawa wont win it. They've only got one reliable goalie.
>> Anonymous
NYI FOR THE CUP YO
>> Anonymous
>>16540

The fact that both of them are back on the team makes the team even stronger. I don't see them folding anytime soon because they're not just winning games they're practically obliterating the competition.

I still think it's bullshit that Neidermayer and Selanne were even allowed to rejoin the team though. Should be a rule preventing shit like they pulled from happening. Now Burke gets to deal with a reduced cap hit for this season and can probably spring to fit in another good player.

THIS IS NOW AN NHL TRADE DEADLINE THREAD, LET'S TALK ABOUT POSSIBLE TRADES AND SHIT LIKE THAT.
>> Anonymous
>>17144

There's going to be 2, maybe 3 big trades and that's it. Slightly disappointing.
>> Anonymous
Gaborik is the only guy (ok, maybe Havlat too) who'd get hurt lifting the cup. "YES! WE WON IT! HRRRRRR*pause*JESUS CHRIST MY GROIN"
>> Anonymous
Hah, fuck the Wild. This is coming from an Avs fan in Dallas (AKA Minnesota North Stars). You're just...silly.
>> Anonymous
Sounds like Brad Richards may end up with The Stars tomorrow, that's all I got at the moment.

Sharks will do absolute shit while the better teams get even better and they'll lose in the second round again.....god damnit.
>> Anonymous
>>16624

If you're retired, either fucking stay retired or come back NEXT season. I suppose the NHL let it happen because those two draw fans, but I'd honestly rather see some sense of fairness.

Are they trying to run the NHL into the ground?
>> Anonymous
>>16603
you mean zero reliable goalies
>> Anonymous
Big moves so far:

Tampa Bay's Brad Richards and Johan Holmqvist to Dallas Stars for Jussi Jokinen, Jeff Halpern and G Mike Smith

St. Louis d-man Bryce Salvador to NJ for Cam Janssen

Brian Campbell (Buffalo) to San Jose for Steve Bernier and first-round draft pick.

Wade Belak (Toronto) to Florida for a draft pick.

Montreal G Cristobal Huet to the Washington Capitals for a draft pick.

Wtf is with that one?
>> Anonymous
Actually, Huet out of Montreal must mean they're making cap room for a Marian Hossa trade. But it also means they're going to have to lean on 20-year-old Carey Price in net for the playoffs. Hope he's got Cam Ward's luck.
>> Anonymous
>>17467
I think they're taking quite a risk with that, he hasn't really been tested too much yet to really justify being good in the playoffs
>> Anonymous
Fucking Rob Blake better waive his NTC. Useless prick...

>> Sharks Season Ticket Holder Anonymous

If they can hold onto Campbell before he goes UFA they made a good move. DW's worked some remarkable magic in that regard (e.g. JT, Rivet); we'll see. They'll still be done in 6 to someone in the second round this year most likely though.
>> Anonymous
I don't know if I can forgive fletcher for dealing belak
>> Anonymous
>>15944
>>15920
I'm sorry but did you say San Jose is good in the playoffs? How come they alway drop past the second round? And they look great on paper? Thats like saying a chick in a bar looks great. After you've had 5 rounds.
>>16532
When Detroits D-Line recovers they will continue to steam roll through the western conference. I point to their injuries the reason why they have been losing so much. You can't win games with an AHL team .
>> Anonymous
>>15951
So do I. Your point?

Pens got Hossa
>> Anonymous

They paid a lot for him... they had better win a cup or something... also re signing malkin crosby and hossa gawn be a bitch

>> Anonymous
I think Crosby knew how much of a baby he was being (since his team often reminded him of it) and he's really come a long way since then... and even if he hasn't, he's still an awesome player and person outside hockey. And no, I haven't met him, but when people talk about him they all generally say the same things
>> Anonymous
I can understand being annoyed by the ultra-hype circlejerk. All the other imagined reasons to hate Crosby is just your butthurt showing.
