Abec 3 are too slow, i would say abec 5 are fine for a beginner, since you wont have to go around trying to get impulse every 2 feet.

Everything else is fine i guess, since its just a beginner kit and its pretty cheap for that.

Don't buy any label boards. Get a generic even board and learn and practice on that. Save money.

just go to your local skate shop. buy one of there generic decks for like 30 bucks. and pick up some nice trucks and wheels while your there.

hell if you look around hard enough you can find some real gems. i got the wheels of a target brand kids board i bought at a yardsale on my element deck, greatest set of wheels i or anyone i know have ever used.

Generic would break if hes a fucking horse kicker, which he probably is, since hes a beginner.

Are you rough with the board?, if yes, get a cheap known brand.

If not, get a generic.

You wouldnt save more than 10~20$ with a generic and a cheap known would last more.

I still would recommend building a known brand board with cheap stuff. It also adds more customization which maybe you would like. (Board length, wheel size, Bearings/abec you want, etc.)

Well should I bid on it nao? I really want one. I had Indepedent and broke it... Good for price and beginner?

Yeah, but youre just guessing on the quality of the board. Doesnt matter though, by the time you get to something that could break the board, you might want something that you like.

Oh, and if you really want it, just do it, its only 25$.

Alright. I am. I had a element and got angry... and broke it. I am pretty sure I like skateboarding just not any good at it. That is why i wanna start over and become good.

I wouldn't even worry about ABEC ratings that much, I'd still avoid ABEC 3 but all bearings will wear down sooner or later . Get some Bones Reds, the whole made-in-China thing makes some people butthurt but they're great, fast, beyond-ABEC bearings and they're cheaper than most you'll find in skate shop counters.

How about a longboard, brah?

Even if he kicks hard, it still wouldn't break a generic board in a 6 month period. Unless he boardslides enough, but he's a beginner. Should be fine.

After he learns ollie, get a nice thick weighted board. Zoo York, Blind and Think make fantastic decks.
