LEAVE THE DIVISION TO ME

I know the Cowboys look like the class of the East on paper, but I'm betting McNoobian has just a little bit more left in him. Thoughts?

Man, the NFC East needs to win a Super Bowl already. The Cowboys are great, the Eagles have a great defense and fucking McNabb and the Skins are the Skins. It's like anyone one of those teams could win a superbowl year in and year out.

I never understood this, but why the fuck is Dallas part f the NFC East when they're like 2000 miles from the Giants, Eagles, and Redskins?
>> Anonymous
>>232661

their rivalries with the other 3 teams were already firmly established so they couldnt move em.

it wouldve made much more sense if they were in the NFC South

South:

Tampa Bay
Atlanta
New Orleans
Dallas

East:
New York
Philadelphia
Washington
Carolina

Agreed, EG.

The Giants are going 6-10 and finishing dead last in the division, the Skins will go 8-8, the Cowboys will go 12-4, and the Eagles will go 18-1.

Cept they'll lose the home opener (like always) and NOT Super Bowl.

I am NOT an NFC Eastfag, but I seriously think the division comes down to the Giants and the Eagles.

Cowboys = OVERRATED

I don't agree with you, but I fucking HOPE you're right.

>>232674
6-10? Have you seen the Giants' schedule? Even if they play somewhat shitty, which I doubt they will, they've still manage atleast 8-9 wins.
>> Anonymous
>>232753
Come on...the Cowboys have a good defense and good receivers. They also have an average quarterback and a running game I wouldn't depend on.

Here's another one; the last head coaches to win Super Bowls...Tom Coughlin, Bill Belichick, Tony Dungy, Bill Cowher, Brian Billick, Mike Shanahan. Do you think Wade Phillips belongs on that list?
>> Anonymous
>>232762
No, Wade Phillips is crap.
>> Anonymous
>>232762
He doesn't, Wade Phillips is a hack. He hardly has any control over his team and lets them do whatever they want regardless of it being detrimental, (ex. Tony Romo and Mexico) We'll see how he handles Pacman Jones. Plus the guy hasn't won a playoff game yet. Most, if not all of those coaches atleast won a playoff game before winning the SB.
>> Anonymous
McNizzab will start less than 8 games this season before succumbing to injury. Eagles fail to make the playoffs again.
>> Anonymous
>>232765
Wade Phillips, a notoriously lax coach, now has two of the biggest headcases in the NFL on his team. A team that, this season, is carrying the weight of some high expectations. A team that, overall, is pretty young and inexperienced, especially at quarterback.

Honestly, what happens if the Cowboys lose a game in a heartbreaker? Lose because of an obvious mistake by the coach or one player? Have a big injury? How with this group react? Will they rally around and suck it up and not criticize each other and get better next week? Or is this the type of team to start backstabbing and criticizing and calling each other out in public? I suspect the latter.

The Cowboys are clearly among the most talented teams in the league. I also think they are an inevitable train wreck, an unstable bomb, ready to blow at the slightest provocation. And that provocation will almost certainly come this season.

tl,dr; Dallas Failboys 2008

I agree, if they win games and everything goes well for them, they'll be a tough team. BUT if things go bad, I have a feeling the team will implode, which honestly, I'm looking forward to. "Mah quarterback" will probably be thrown under the bus, along with other happenings. They are carrying an immense amount of pressure. We'll see if they handle it well, or collapse under it.
>> Anonymous
>>232783
NO indication this is a team that can handle any kind of pressure

in fact, the exact opposite

I say problems start before September is over
>> Anonymous
I can't wait to see figurehead coach Wade Phillips balance the big egos of T.O. and ADAM JONESSS on the same team plus keeping the rest of the team happy with all of their bullshit. Jerry Jones will also not tolerate anything less than a Super Bowl this year so Cowboys fans have fun riding the rollercoaster that is your team

Does Tom Coughlin really fit on that list??

Those are all credible head coaches and Coughlin is kinda there. It should be Steve Spagnulo and not Coughlin since the Giants D is the only reason they won.

Say what you want, but Coughlin completely changed the way he coached after being a dick, and changed the attitude in the locker room after it was filled with tension the season before. He kept that team together and in harmony, and got them to play well. And Coughlin wasn't exactly a nobody before coming to NY, he had some playoff wins with Jacksonville.

"Peterson runs up the middle..."
"A gain of 3 before he's tackled from behind."
"Wait a minute, Peterson is slow to get up."
"Medical trainers are looking at him-- uh oh, they're signaling for the stretcher unit. Oh boy, tough loss for the Vikings. Hopefully it's nothing serious."

"We have an update from the locker room on Adrian Petersons condition. It appears that on what seemed like a routine tackle, he's knees completely fucking exploded."
"Boy, what a tough loss for the Vikings with 15 games to go."
"It's on Tavaris Jackson now to salvage the Vikings season."

Yea good point about playoff wins. But you can't say the Super Bowl win and Giants season was all on Coughlin.

If Spags didn't come in there they would've had another shitty D and prob would've finished 7-9 or 6-10. Their D was responsible for 2/3's of that season. And their line was 90% of their D.

Also you can thank Jim Johnson later.
>> Anonymous
>>233369
Oh definitely, Spags was a key piece, without him they wouldn't have won, he whipped that D into shape after they went 0-2 and were about to lose to the Skins in week 3. I'm just saying you have to give Tom Coughlin some of the credit, he certainly deserved the Super Bowl win.

Giants will take an easier road to XLIII. They'll go 14-2 win the division and be the #1 seed in the NFC. Although them playing at home isn't necessarily a good thing.
