So, /sp/

Amerifag here. A few friends of mine have been forcing me to watch soccer, and, while it's obviously inferior to football, it is fairly entertaining.

So, can you eurofags help me out with some of your strange, foreign teams? All I've gotten this far is that Manchester United is evil, Serie A is nothing but players that fall to draw yellow cards, and one friend that swears by Borussia Dortmund.

So, /sp/, advice?

Best teams to watch over the last few years

Manchester United in Europe
Arsenal in Premier League
Barcelona in La Liga
Inter in Serie A
Lyon in Ligue 1
Bayern in Bundesliga

Everything else is faggotry. If you're going to start watching it watch the Premier League because it's the most immediately gripping, even games with the shitty teams usually have some drama, and games between the top 4 are NEVER dull.

because their usually pretty decent without hopping on the faggot bandwagons of Bayern Munich.

Check out Aston Villa in Premier League (english league), Atletico Madrid in La Liga (spanish league), and Fiorentina in Serie A (italian league) for teams that are going to be good in a few years.

>>220708
Watch a few games from the EPL, watch a few from La Liga (spanish league) and watch a few from Serie A (italian league). Pick a few teams to follow from each one, get to know the players, and download their games.

The top 4 of the EPL (Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool) generally are really fun games to watch because there are so many rivalries, but dont discount the other teams of the EPL, they might not get as much press for their players and transfers and happenings, but they can be really fun to watch too.

Other fun teams in the EPL:
Everton
Aston Villa
Manchester City

Borussia Dortmund plays in the Bundesliga, the german league.

BTW, the general trend is, if you're not a manchester fan you hate manchester, if you're not a chelsea fan you hate chelsea, if you're not an arsenal fan you love arsenal, and if you're not a liverpool fan, or if you are a liverpool fan, you hate liverpool. ;) Can you see what team I support?

Oh and everyone hates the Tottenham Hotspurs.

I watched a few games they were involved in last season, let's just say the Torres transfer money is the best thing that's happened to them in recent times. They'll do well this season, perhaps push on for a CL spot.

The top 4 tend to cancel each other out from what games i've witnessed recently.

The good games are the top 4 against a team that regularly comes between 5 and 10, or against REALLY shit teams like Derby County.

i'm addicted to Ita-calcio.
Yes, players drop like dominos. Yes, there are more bad teams than in scotland. But they sure are one huge bunch of clowns, and there is nothing more fun to watch than them.

As for BVB, they are cult team from Germany. Based in fairly poor, industrial city (think Pitsburg). They have 0€ to spend, some of the most loyal fans one the world and management that is slightly less competent than CIA in finding Osama.

In short Ita-calcio lookalike in Germany. me likes.

all that you need to know is that the classiest club in world is celtic fc

we are all inclusive, non-sectarian, egalitarian, and intelligent supporters.

Celtic and Scotland manager Jock Stein can help bring some insight into our great and massive club -

"Celtic jerseys are not for second best, They don't shrink to fit inferior players"

Stein's inspiring pre-match battle cry was: "If you're ever going to win the European Cup, then this is the day and this is the place. But we don't just want to win this cup, we want to do it playing good football - to make neutrals glad we've won it, glad to remember how we did it."
(Jock Stein before the game 25th March 1967)

"There is not a prouder man on God's Earth than me at this moment. Winning was important, aye, but it was the way that we have won that has filled me with satisfaction. We did it by playing football. Pure, beautiful, inventive football. There was not a negative thought in our heads. Inter played right into our hands; it's so sad to see such gifted players shackled by a system that restricts their freedom to think and to act. Our fans would never accept that sort of sterile approach. Our objective is always to try to win with style."
(Jock Stein, 1967)

we are a club that demand only the best, because we know we are the best.

here is to four in a row!!!!!

Ahhhh Dortmund

Such a glorious club now in ruins, they were an exciting team to watch, when Rosicky was there.

But now even Rosicky is gone, and they are just sad to watch, although they do have a fantastic fan support (world class top notch support), if that helps.

Watch exciting teams. Barca, Arsenal, Real M are famous for their attacking play. Man Utd does play an exciting game, but since they are evil... Roma is fun to watch, when Totti is fit. Bremen tends to create a lot of goals as well, but they lost a key player this season so we will have to find out.

Every league has its own stereotypes. SerieA may have too much of a counter attacking play with closed defenses. Primera league players go down too easy, which gets the game stopped constantly. German bundesliga is conservative because they don't overpay for anything. French Ligue1 has lots of young African players with good talents, but whatever they do Lyon wins it. As for EPL it's has too much long ball, garbage refs, but it's always down to Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man U to take the top four spots.

However, whatever team you choose to watch, it will never beat anything like supporting a team. Choose wisely.

barca and arsenal have been the only exponents of decent club football for some time now.

manyoo barca CL tie was dire. disgusting a team of manc's size play 11 men behind the ball batshit the entire time. that said, barca haven't had a true route to goal in two years.

don't support AS Roma, we're going down the tubes this season because we couldn't seize a decent transfer opportunity if it sat on our lap and sucked our dick. hooray for fighting for 4th place

Fiorentina or Napoli are better bets if you want a team on the up and up, but Juve will win serie A this year

The differences between the four/five biggest leagues are alot less pronounced than people would make you believe, every league has its divers, assholes, madmen, and defensive teams. Overall, the EPL is a bit more fast paced and frantic, La Liga has a bit more talented mid-table players, and serie A has more disciplined fullbacks and coaches, but none of the differences are glaring. Unless you're talking about the eredivisie, the dutch league. There's no defending there, ever

also: referees are shit everywhere. Every league thinks its referees are the worst, and they're all wrong.
