Hey guys, who wins?

I say Calzaghe.
>> Anonymous
You would say that, Britfag.

Hopkins wins, just like Mayweather raped Hatton.
>> Anonymous
Calzaghe better win Hopkins is like 57 years old.
>> Anonymous
IT ALL HANGS ON WHETHER THE REF IS A BEANER

Kiss and make up!
>> Anonymous
calzaghe is too much for that old man. best hopkins can do is keep his guard up and hope the judges feel sorry for him. if you look at how the 2 have fought in their last couple of fights you know it can only go calzaghes way.

and im from england so theres no bias here

Rigged match, Hatton wasn't allowed to move in any way.

It's the same damn ref from the hatton-mayweather fight LOL
>> Anonymous
ITT Britfags believe that the ref cost Hatton a fight where he was bossed throughout and KO'd like a bitch.
>> Anonymous
>>66924

Really?
>> Anonymous
>>67018
He would have lost any way, but the ref was definitely being a faggot.
>> Anonymous
>>67018
speaking as a Brit i have to quote for truth. wenever we lose its always someone else's fault. E.g. the referee in the 2007 rwc final for the disallowed try, even WITH the video ref. also special mention to england football supporters for blaming the artificial turf when england lost to russia.

hatton lost coz he ran his mouth too much and he went into the fight fists blazing. this is the same reason why Hopkins will lose.
>> Anonymous
You can't deny that the ref stopped the fight every 2 seconds, he never allowed Hatton to fight at all. That suited Mayweathers defensive style perfectly. Mayweather boxed brilliantly and totally deserved the win that night. Hatton never boxed his way; mainly due to the refereeing of the fight; he lost his patience and in result, lost the fight.

No excuses though, he should of been able to adapt and overcome that, but he didn't, the better fighter won that night.

Hope there's a rematch!

Also, I feel Calzaghe will win, but I'm nervous, we've all been here before with Hatton and I actually thougt Hatton could do it and I was wrong. I'm wondering if Calzaghe will start too strong and get caught.

>>67437

>Hope there's a rematch!

I think Hatton wants a rematch at the City of Manchester stadium. He said something like they could get 100,000 people in there or something stupid.

>I actually thougt Hatton could do it and I was wrong

So did i, but with hindsight, the match was hyped up so much, and everyone in the UK was behind Hatton etc etc.

The Calzaghe fight is different.
>> Anonymous
>>67464
lol England simply does not produce good boxers. Lewis was half Canadian so he doesn't count. David Haye looks like your only talent.
>> Anonymous
>>67464
City of Manchester Stadium wouldn't hold 100,000, so it's probably Wembley he was talking about. No joke i think a mayweather rematch would fill Wembley with ease. He's fighting Juan Lazcano in his next fight and that's sold something like 50-60k tickets and he's a bum.

There shouldn't even be talk of a ematch though, mayweather needs to stop dodging Cotto.

>>67535

Bullshit. Just because he was born in Canada doesn't mean shit, he practically lived his whole life here, he trained here, but with your logic that doesn't mean shit, it means that all that mean nothing just because he was born in Canada.

Britain produce excellent boxers. Just because Hatton lost to Mayweather that mean it voids the whole country forever? For such a small island, I think we have some of the top boxers in the world.

wat? chris eubank, nigel benn, david haye, joe calzaghe, amir khan, naseem hamed, henry cooper (ok not really the last one)

I should also add that whilst Hatton is a great fighter, Mayweather is a better boxer.

Amerifags shouldn't be so quick to judge the UK talent, though.
>> Anonymous
lol calzaghe was down in the first round
>> Anonymous
that was fantastic
>> Anonymous
Some white guy beat up a nigger and got paid for it.
>> Anonymous
bloody hell, /b/ritfag here - thought it was close, but thought hopkins might've nicked it because of the 1st round knockdown.

congrats to joe, though

HAHAHA stick it up your arse amerifags

Gwaaaan Calzaghe!!!
>> Anonymous
I guess BHop is a bonafide liar. He said he won't lose to a white boy but he did. He was fakin on the lowblows too.
>> Anonymous
Yeah, he was definitely faking to get some rest.

I thought the fight had so little action and clean punches landing that i would have scored the majority of the rounds as even, and probably given the same amount of rounds to each fighter but with hopkins winning because of the knockdown. Britfag here btw.
>> Anonymous
>>68047
Calzaghe threw more and landed more.
>> Anonymous
Unlucky, all you cocky amerifags.

Not only was your boy a messy fighter, he was a fucking cheat as well, and took a fake lowblow for a 5 minute time out to get his breath back.
>> Anonymous
>>68051
Nothing that had any effect, and only maybe 1 or 2 in the entire fight that were at all eye catching.
>> Anonymous
>>68056
Thats how boxing works
>> Anonymous
>>68056
lol, do you even know how to score a BOXING match?
>> Anonymous
Walesfag here.
God damn that was a close fight. Hopkins tried to throw the head in a few times, and the rests from the "low blows" just showed how outclassed he was.

His arrogance after the match was disgusting, too.
And Americans complained about the attitude Hatton had. Pshaw.
>> Anonymous
>>68060
Of course i do, you're talking to an amateur boxer and major boxing obsessive. Professional boxing isn't scored by who lands the most punches, it's scored by criteria of the judges own chosing. If a judge decides he prefers aggression to cautious counterpunching then that's his own choice. In my opinion joe calzaghe didn't do anything impressive, and neither did hopkins, making it extremely hard to split them so the knockdown edged it for me. It was a split decision for a reason, moron.

get back to your embroidered wikipedia definitions, you fag.
your boy lost fair and square, to the better man.

Power shots don't count if he's being outpunched 2 to 1 and if they don't cause any noticeable damage. That's what workrate is. For scoring points.
>> Anonymous
>>68157
That depends entirely on the judges. Hatton outworked Mayweather but was a mile behind on the cards, meaning they scored some of the rounds where very little happened for mayweather, even with hattons forcing of the fight.
>> Anonymous
Black men hit harder.
It's fact.
>> Anonymous
Imagine if BHop went to Joe's backyard... I think JC would have knocked his ass out.
>> Anonymous
Alright now....KISS
>> Anonymous
Terrific work-rate from Calzaghe, but I thought Hopkins looked dangerous throughout. That first round knock-down was a shock. Calzaghe did brilliantly to survive the next 2 rounds after that.

Honestly thought the judges could've given it either way.
>> Anonymous
Hopkins now has to go back to his neighborhood, beaten by a white guy. Even after his Oscar-losing fake low blow.

Y'know, it is kinda funny with him, Rocky Hatton, & Corey Pavlik. There are some white boys who can fight. (I will not reference the Heavyweight division, cause it is full of fail.)
>> Anonymous
>>68275
I meant Ricky Hatton. And his bad teddy boy entrance music. I wished I typed better.
>> Anonymous
Anyone see that little dance he did after getting in that low-blow?

I fucking spit my beer out. Hilarious.
>> Anonymous
>>68415
He was raping Hopkins from behind! I laughed.
>> Anonymous
>>68418
me too.
>> Anonymous
hopkins got the knockdown in the first but that was about it. he seemed to think that should have won him the fight but a couple of rounds later his right was just bouncing off joes defence. he grabbed hold of joe constantly and yes i know thats a legit tactic when boxers are trying to smother a more skillfull opponent but you cant really expect to win with just that.
>> Anonymous
we didnt see the best of joe for whatever reason but he still deserved the decision in the end.
>> Anonymous
Lol at the final judges card.
>> Anonymous
Where is that fuck who told me to bet my life that Joe would get the TKO.

Nice going.
>> Anonymous
>>66322

lol'd. Oh you...

Hopkins should of won that fight though, I saw no domination from Calzaghe, he even low blowed him for fuck sake.
>> Anonymous
>>68631

o hai, that was me on another thread i think.
ya, sorry about that, i changed my mind later that day and backed calzaghe on points instead... woops prolly shouldn't have told you that.
>> Anonymous
>>68823
He dominated Hopkins from round 3 and on.

Hopkins should have taken a delicious uppercut, rushing in with his head down like that. I was hoping for one.
