Well at first I thought the Cubs were a sure thing to win the NLDS.

Now I go to ESPN.com and see this:

It's been a fun ride guys, we'll be back in 2009 though, I promise!

Unanimous ESPN support = death knell.

Sorry, cubbies. Try sneaking in with a Wild Card next year.

"What? ESPN is usually right."

don't believe the hype, but the cubs will win though just imagine you didn't see this.

ESPN updated it now. They now have 9 out of 10 people picking the Cubs. Jim Caple(who is a big Dodgers whore) picks the Dodgers in five.

The Cubs are so going down.

Even with ESPN confirming my darkest fears I am still saying we will sweep the Dodgers in four.

What the shit is this? Not even one person picks the Brewers? At least someone picked the Dodgers.

AND only one person has this series even going 5? God damn ESPN, I fucking hate the Brewers but that's just down right disrespectful.

Brewerfag here, the only way I see us winning is if CC goes 8 in both of his starts, and Sveum uses a Gallardo-McClung combo to win another.

Well Soup was randomly awesome in the postseason for the 06 cards. It might happen to you. Are the Brewers even starting him in the NLDS?
>> St.Feraligatr !VJOf9vVc0E

He probably will. Milwaukee has already shown that they have no faith in their bullpen.

Soup gave up 30 HRs this year, 21 since July. Neither of these ballparks are going to help him with that. He also had one of his worst games of the year against the Phils. I'd give Dave Bush a better chance of winning a game in this series.

SWEEP IN SIX

They have to. The whole reason they gave him that big contract was for his work in the playoffs.

This is bullshit. Almost all year long the Brewers were two steps ahead of the Phillies but now because the Brewers are in the Wild card they get no respect at all.

The Brewers have a stronger team than ESPN wants to believe. And who fucking cares what Steve fucking Philips thinks anyways?

The Brewers have four solid starters: Sabathia, Bush, Suppan, and Gallardo, not to mention Seth McfuckingClung who was just as instrumental in the Brewers winning the Wild Card in the last week as Sabathia in my opinion.

FIXED

Call me crazy - but I think it might have to do with the fact that the Phillies bludgeoned the Brewers a little earlier this month, sweeping them in a 4-game series that included a day/night double-header.

The Brewers are a good team, but the Phillies are just a bad match-up for them.

Sept 11 v. Phillies:
B. Sheets (Loss) - 6 IP, 9 Hits/5 Runs, 3 Walks, 4 SOs, 1 HR.

Sept 13 v. Phillies:
Parra (Loss) - 1.1 IP, 7 Hits/5 Runs, 3 Walks, 3 SOs.

Sept 14 v. Phillies:
Bush (N. D.) - 6 IP, 5 Hits/3 Runs, 2 Walks, 4 SOs, 1 HR.

Sept 14 v. Phillies:
Suppan (Loss)- 3.2 IP, 8 Hits/6 Runs, 4 Walks, 1 SO, 1 HR.
Now, in the playoffs, this doesn't mean a thing. But, this should give you a clue as to why the ESPN "analysts" give the edge over the Brewers to the Phillies. Aside from Bush (who was average, to be kind), the Phillies completely dismantled every Brewers pitcher not named Sabathia.

During this series, the Phillies WILL face Sabathia... and, the braintrust over at ESPN have chalked his start up as the only likely win for the Brewers.

In my opinion, I think the Phillies will take the series, but not as comfortably as those analysts think. I think, aside from Sabathia's win, the Brewers will butcher either Joe Blanton or Brett Myers. For the Phillies, two wins from these inconsistent starters is being optimistic.

More than likely you won't be facing three of those pitchers. It's probably just going to be Gaillardo, C2, and...my guess is Jeff Suppan thanks to his playoff experience.
