I got to give my hats off to NBCOLYPMICS.COM. Although they don't stream cover 100% of the games, they do cover at least 70%, and that's ok with me.

But the big plus for me was the lack of announcers. It is sooooooo much better watching and listening to the events without the announcers. In fact, some of the events provide and awesome ambiance even while I sleep. The other night, the USA/Canada softball game lulled me to sleep.

Silverlight provides a flawless stream of Encore (and live) action and I don't have to worry about 2 hour long football matches to load up. I can scroll strait to the 80th minute without delay. I even get to watch all the medal ceremonies.

This summer, I have to spend a lot of time at work which means I am nowhere near a television. I can only rely on NBColympics.com for my olympic coverage and I'm loving it. But I feel that it is making me spoiled. I don't think I can watch another sport on tv with a commentator ever again. All I want to hear are the fans and the action.

Thanks NBC.

Fuck NBC, assholes don't air anything live and to add to that shit, they sit on everything for an extra three hours on the west coast.

I agree.

Lack of announcers = you feel like you're in the stands. Plus, there are no ads during the live streams, so you see every moment. Hell, they have mics everywhere so you can even hear the cursing fans and the pissed athletes.

I so hope all sports are streamed like this someday.

Also, GJ with Silverlight MS, it blows Flash out of the water for this shit.

Op here. I'm not trolling. This is excellent for someone who works all day, and can come home and watch all (most) of the events uninterrupted without all the bullshit.

The best thing about Silverlight is that Microsoft helpfully preinstalls it when I visit WindowsUpdate.Com!

I was kind of surprised with Siverlight too, especially how fast it loads and how you can skip to any part of a video with no delay. I think the only people that are complaining have 10 year old computers.

Although I'll admit that I'm mostly disappointed with NBC's online coverage. They hoard a lot of the pre-recorded events to show later at Primetime.

I personally need announcers for some events so I know what the fuck is going on.

CBC in Canada FTW

actually
the commentator from trinidad & tobago for track & field is really well spoken
and he sounds like he knows what he's talking about
pleasant change from the usual nbc fare

Yes I know it's 70%, but are there any alternatives that offer the full 100% coverage and NO bullshit announcers/ads?
