There is talk of adding a regular season game in the NFL, thus making a typical season 17 games long. I propose that in addition to divisional rivals, each team would have to face the same team in the oppposite conference each year. For instance, each year the Patriots would have to face the Giants. One year it would be at the Patriots and the next at the Giants. I think this is a rather neat idea. Here is how I would set it up:

Patriots/Giants
Steelers/Eagles
Ravens/Redskins
Browns/Lions
Bengals/Panthers
Colts/Bears
Chiefs/Packers
Texans/Cowboys
Titans/Falcons
Raiders/49ers
Dolphins/Buccaneers
Bills/Vikings
Broncos/Seahawks

Same conference...same division even...but I think I see what you're getting at. A giants/jets game would be cool every year.

i think that was a troll that you commented on but yeah Pats / Giants isnt really big other than the superbowl, should be Giants / Jets.

Well it's also New York vs. Boston, which is already a rivalry. But okay, Giants/Jets works too.

Who should the Patriots rival be? The Cowboys is an interesting idea.

I like Bills/Vikings better because they both went to four Super Bowls and lost all of them.

I wrote>>31468with two rules, 1) AFC vs NFC, and 2) best geographical rivalry.

The geographic rivalries that are the most important are Jets-Giants, Chiefs-Rams, Raiders-49ers, Texans-Cowboys, Steelers-Eagles, Ravens-Redskins, and maybe Dolphins-Bucs.

The New York/ Boston thing is already there with Pats/ Jets though. Pats / Giants would kinda be like Sox vs Mets or Bruins vs Islanders to fans, its kinda fun but you know it aint the real rivalry lol.

It unbalances the schedule though. Some teams from the same division have to play San Diego, while others get to play Oakland. Not exactly a fair go.

That said, I would love to see it, I just don't think it'll happen.

there is no talk of adding a 17th game.

That's because Goodell's fucked up the league enough as it is, another game can't make any difference.

I kinda loled at the visual of how far away the seahawks are from the rest of the nfl

If they expand the NFL anymore then they need to add some teams farther west.

No money in that region outside of Las Vegas. And they have no interest in having football there.
