What is the greatest sporting event you've ever been at?

I was at the 2004 ALCS Game 4 and World Series Game 2 (Bloody Sock game for Schilling), the 06 Wild Card game between the Patriots and Jaguars, and 07 ALCS Game 7.

Worst for me was 07 ALCS Game 2. Fucking Gagne, goddamn.

I was at the 2004 ALDS Sox-Angels game when Ortiz hit the homerun off of Wahsburn.

I was also at Fenway for one of the ALCS wins in 2003, but that was the aaron boone year so meh.

Sadly, I'm from south florida so I've had the misfortune of being a marlins fan the past decade plus.. we did have a few good moments tho; I was at Game 7 of the 97 World Series, was quite an exciting extra innings game

USC/Oregon footall 2007, when nick harper intercepted that last pass the stadium almost fell apart.

I was at the Patriots - Miami game a few years ago on that cold Monday night. Game was amazing, watching Brady lose to an awful team was so satisfying.

You've had two World championships and the team is only 15 years old.

Misfortunate? You motherfucker, you deserve a perma-ban for that shit.

Lawl, yeah we had our two seasons of glory, but our owners have been total douchebags and immediately dismantled the teams afterwards..

The cubs and the sox try to build on their success when they're doing well, whereas the marlins are like the farm team of the major leagues, developing talent just to see it poached by the big money boys

If you notice we're perpetual basement dwellers except when we get lucky and develop talent out of the draft or our AAA ball

AGAIN: 2 WORLD SERIES TROPHIES IN 10 YEARS.

would you rather have 2 titles and three last place finishes in a decade or have none of either?
>> Anonymous
I'd rather have a team that's competitive and fun to watch year to year than one with a combined season 4.94 ERA, ending up 18 games out of the race
>> Anonymous
Adding: yeah world series runs are glorious and fun to watch, but its hard to stay enthusiastic about a team that has so much turnover that it's not really a team but a training club..

Its sad knowing what few stars you have will most likely be gone as soon as they're up for a trade

I saw Mark McGuire hit the longest home run in the King dome in Seattle. It has since been demolished, so the record will stand.

I was at the "first game back in the dome" MNF game. Saints vs. Falcons in 2006. Top 5 moment of my life.

I was at the game when Johan Santana got 17K's, was at the game Gabby got 5 goals against the NY Rangers, and was at the game when Peterson broke the single game rushing record.

welcome to the MLB! that's the situation with about 75% of the teams right now. the difference is, when you've been good, you've won championships, unlike most smaller-market teams.

I was there last season when the Navy Midshipmen beat the Fighting irish after a 42 game losing streak - the longest standing in history in triple overtime 46 to 44

EPIC C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER

then me and the rest of the student body drowned ourselves in alcohol in congruence with true notre dame tradition.
