>Roddick: The biggest underachiever in USA tennis.

also, nice job losing with your fiance watching. have fun waiting for your next blowjob after the fail

In mens tennis? Maybe - though Roddick and Safin have at least one major title...other players dont have one yet, like Blake, Ginepri, as far as American players go. Can't think of any others.

In overall tennis? Anna Kournakova (sp)

Roddick goes net, and always gets fucked. ALWAYS

Before the Djokovic match, he had moderate success, he has been improving his net play, but its still not enough to match the top three players. His approach shots just aren't good enough yet, not to mention two handed backhands have a hard time volleying at the net.

Kournikova always sucked. She was just really hawt, that was her achievement.

To be an underachiever you have to have potential and just perpetually fail.

In his match against Djokovic he was going to the net a lot and making half assed volleys. It made me rage.

- No net play
- Mediocre backhand
- Can't break serves
- Can't hold serves from behind points
- 140 mph serves

...too many negatives and nothing to balance his game except serving, which is nothing much if his opponents returns them.

Especially if they return them down the line and he just looks at the ball.

Fucking rage I did.

I raged too. It's like he's not even trying anymore. Looks like he's only playing for the money, which is a shame if he is.

For one, Roddick just had the bad luck of being in his prime when Federer was too. He's lost like 3 or 4 grand slam finals to him, whilst pretty much anihilating the rest of the field.

But besides that, his game just isn't complete enough. If he has a good day and can crack a good first serve percentage coupled with not too many errors and more winners with his forehand, he can beat anyone. But let him play a rally from the back against say any top 30, maybe top 50 player and he's gonna have problems.

Also, can't imagine a guy like him just playing for the money, or not trying his best.

I kinda would have liked to see him play better, maybe even win, but Djokovic in good form would even beat a strong Roddick 8/10 on hardcourt I think.

Good point with Federer being on his prime as well as Roddick's during the time they both dominated. Obviously, Federer is the superior player, but it's hard to see Roddick fall off like that. Although, he'll still be the USA #1 tennis player.

i still love how roddick talks about how he had trainers on so muhc, and said hes got sars and shit, thats was jsut silly, lol

Roddick was facing the number 3 player in the world, he was the obvious underdog.

he'd been playing at a much higher level than usual this tournament, and only got by Gulbis by playing a nearly perfect match. it was, for once, a surprise to see him make so many mistakes and play without confidence.

I guess the pressure got to him. he only started playing well after Djokovic dropped his level in the third set, and the moment Djokovic really challenged him again in the 4th, he wilted. his problem is mental. no amount of training will prevent him from panicking in the most crucial situations and reverting to his weak backhand and faith-based approach shots, which are nonexistent in less important matches where he's confident. it's only when he starts freaking out about the possibility of losing a big match that he plays so badly and predictably loses the big match.

of course, as others said, he was probably fucked against Djokovic no matter what, but there's no excuse for not at least getting to a 5th set when Djokovic played so weakly most of the 3rd and 4th.

It's a shame since Safin and Roddick don't have that dickwad attitude that Federer and Djork have. Maybe it's that selfish arrogant attitude that makes clutch players, I'm sure Kobe agrees.

Take Federer out of that argument and ok...

Federer is usually pretty gracious in defeat and victory.
