Yeah, the Penguins sure manhandled those Red Wings that whole during every OT... oh wait... they didn't.

Red Wings controlled every second of that OT... Pittsburgh won on sheer luck. What's the point of delaying the inevitable.

The point is to make it "look" like a real series is going on.

I'm a Pensfag, but I honestly don't see them beating such an experienced group. I'm happy that they've put up somewhat of a fight instead of just getting steamrolled like everyone thought would happen.

I'm just glad the Pens didn't score on those two bogus goalie interference calls.
>> Anonymous
Alright, I just gotta say that it was a great game and all, and everything seemed to be going for the Wings, but Fleury and O'Halloran stood in the way. My heart really sunk after that stupid penalty Hudler committed, and then seeing Sykora on the ice...

...but we all know it's just delaying the inevitable.
>> Anonymous
>>132577
Pens played even through 2nd OT. Otherwise it was a slaughter v. fleury.
>> Anonymous
>>132734

You're absolutely blind if you believe that. You're blinded by your homerness. I hate both teams, so I'm able to look at this objectively... Detroit was beating them the first OT, DOMINATED the 2nd OT, and was absolutely the better team in the 3rd. But that's just how it goes sometimes.
>> Anonymous
>>132960
Shots on goal were even in the 2nd OT. I dont have any team alliances so your other points are without merit.

I hate the fact the fucking Penguins came back. This means that there is a game 6 which means I don't get to watch the Rays @ Red Sox on Wednesday because the bloody Ice Hockey takes precedence apparently. Fuck you Penguins, why couldn't you just capitulate to Detroit who are clearly the superior team.

Did you watch the game? If you had, you'd see that Detroit was skating circles around Pittsburgh during the whole 2OT. Maybe the shots were the same, but the difference between shots and quality shots is something.

Here's a stat for you from NHL.com

Detroit took 130 shots AT THE net during that game. 58 SOG, 41 missed the net, and 31 were blocked by Pittsburgh players.

Pittsburgh took 60 total shots AT THE net. Only 32 were SOG. Pittsburgh had one more SOG than the number of shots they blocked for Detroit.

If that stat doesn't prove to you how much Detroit controlled that game, you're a homer, bandwagoning, blind Pittsburgh fan. They controlled the game so much, they had the puck long enough to take 70 more shots than Pittsburgh.
>> Anonymous
>>133056

Fucking bandwagoning Penguins fans are the worst scum of the Earth.

>> Anonymous
>>133088
so really, detroit won last nights game and are now STANLEY CUP CHAMPPPPPPSSSSSS!!!!!!
>> CapitalistBastard !!f/pELCnjRD0
>>133088

Detroit took a ton of shots from bad angles and from the outside.

That's their offensive style. Have Holmstrom camp out in front of the net and dump shots on goal.

It has nothing to do with the quality of the shots or of the chances.

If fact, I'm willing to bet that the chances were very close to even.
>> Anonymous
>>133089
So what if you are not a bandwagoning douche?
>> Anonymous
>>133125
>chances about even

HAHA. OH WOW.

It was complete LUCK that the Pens won that game. I'm not saying they're a bad team, but the fact that the Wings took more shots also correlates to the fact they had the puck longer. Look at most of the Penguins chances! Most of the time, they would get in, take a shot, and the puck would be cleared. When Detroit got in the zone, they were staying there for a fucking while.

QFT

as someone that forgets about hockey till the playoffs (wtf is versus channel anyway) i noticed the amount of time spent by the pens goal.

was not a fan of either team, but CB has swayed me to bleed red for detroit

i hope it is! i fell asleep during last game but was recording it, when i watched it back in the morning i couldnt belive what the fuck happened, i wasnt a hockey fan before this, but consider me converted, fun as hell to watch.

neutral for now, guess ill need to pick a team for next season.

hey CB! see how you're persuading people to cheer against your team? i think that's a sign of how good of a fan you are and it's a bit counter-productive

oh btw, i just found some wheels here in this thread, they seem to have fallen off your bandwagon.
>> Anonymous
its obvious the wings are old and are starting to lose steam as the playoffs roll on. how else can one explain being so close to getting the stanley cup and not being able to pull the trigger?
>> Anonymous
     File :-(, x)
I think the Penguins will come back and win it all. After Game 5 it's clear that they're not going down that easily.
>> Anonymous
I've been a wings fan since i was 10 years old. I've personally met many of the players over the years, and they are all a great group of guys. I believe the penguins are like the wings in 96'. I really want the wings to win, and i believe they will wrap it up tonite or in game 7.

But next year the pens will have the experience and drive to go for the cup. ( game 5 proved they have the balls to play through anything.) I could seriously see myself rooting for another pens/wings final next year if its as good as this one has been.
>> Anonymous
>>134334

Oh and the pens better re-sign MAF for a fuckton, cause he's kept them in for game 6.
>> Anonymous
>I could seriously see myself rooting for another pens/wings final next year if its as good as this
one has been

lol wut? This Final has been boring as all fuck. It may be awesome for Wings fans to watch their team dominate another, but to hockey fans not associated with Detroit or Pittsburgh, this Final hasn't been anything worth noting.
>> Anonymous
>>134314
ya' you're prolly right, I mean the wings haven't dominated them every single game so far.
>> Anonymous
>>134349
Did you watch game 4 and, especially, game 5? obvious troll is obvious

the first two games of the series was zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz as the wings trapped/flooded their way to victory

the rest of the games have been either good or great
>> Anonymous
>>134349

I'm still watching because I want to see Sid fail at his only chance at the cup.
>> Anonymous
>>134370
i think if theres one thing that pens and wings fans can agree on is that this series has not been boring by any means
