If you are referring to the RJ trade, then it was a talent downgrade, but it's also a move that gives them flexibility in 2010. The problem with the Nets was that VC and RJ are basically duplicates with VC being able to create for himself and others, how they fare in the last few years is pretty good indication that having a second allstar wingman isn't going to put them anywhere on the map, so might as well shred some salary and add more size. Also, the frontcourt with Sean/Boone isn't going to become elite bigs anytime soon, so there wasn't anything wrong with acquiring Yi.

That's because Denver has NOTHING aside from scoring talent. Guys like AI, Melo, JR, and Kleiza who can score in bursts can't replace their lack of defense, lack of a playmaker and 3 point specialist. The only consistent play they can run is the alley oop, and once the game goes half court their offense they have to rely on Melo or AI iso to draw fouls.
