PHILADELPHIA EAGLES MOST DEVOTED FAN BASE IN NFL

"Forbes Magazine used a complex research method to determine that Eagles fans are the most devoted of any football fanbase. Forbes used "multiple regression analysis" of fan attendance and team success going back to 1990 to determine te most diehard football fan base. Comparing differential in attendance and season ticket waiting list figures during winning and losing seasons, Forbes quantified the Philadelphia Eagles as having the leagues most devoted fans....they also considered attendance at games in bad weather in which the Eagles also had the highest..."

As a Giants fan, I'm ok with this. I hate the team so much but since I moved to south jersey i really have come to respect how much these fans give a fuck, even though their team sucks historically.

Especially since the Steelers fans winning the ESPN one was total bullshit since shitsburgh has bandwagon fans (see pirates, penguins)

top five were pretty reasonable
1.) Eagles
2.) Packers
3.) Redskins
4.) my G-Men (fuck yea 18-1)
5.) Broncos

You gotta be devoted to stick with a team with no superbowl trophies.

Easy to be devoted to a team like the steelers who have multiple...If they were'nt good all the time the fans would bail on them just like the did the pens

Forbes Magazine??? Who the fuck cares what they think. Why don't you have a look here at what a more credible source thinks...

Every team does.

I swear to God that there's someone in Arizona who's a die-hard fan.

And also OP: Calling Pittsburgh fans bandwagoners and then saying you're a Giants fan?

the cards are the oldest continuous football club in america, they date back to the late 19th century i believe but have moved twice. i don't know about the jags, titans, or panthers having old fanbases though.. i know houston takes it's name from the AFL texans that are now the chiefs.

it's amazing how many "giants fans" there are now that they won the super bowl, the giants are such a bandwagon lol

Nice to get a bit of recognition from someone. Yes, we're violent, ill-spirited assholes who throw shit from the stands, attack opposing fans who dare visit, etcetera. But we've ate more shit than any fans in football. At least Loins and Cardinals and NFC South team fans can comfort themselves by having other fail franchises in their divisions. The NFC East has ELEVEN fucking superbowls, and I've had the displeasure of watching nine of them. (I won't count the Redskins one in '82, I was a toddler at the time)

My entire sports fan life has been continuous heartbreaking fail from the '87 Stanley Cup until now, and I've never questioned why I continue to eat this shit, not even once.

I'll concede that point with the Phillies. The other organizations have made varying levels of effort to win. The Flyers have been the unluckiest of them.

We are pretty diehard. A cheesesteak is the ultimate blood-fire-upper for games.

Oh wow, you must be as old as I am. '87 cup final wasn't as bad as 96 though. :( Sure, they lost in game 7, but getting swept is even worse.

2002 NFC Championship game against Tampa Bay was the most devastating loss for me as an Eaglesfag.

Flyers are usually at the top, and have been the most successful franchise in the city. 07-08 season was definitely proof that this team is built to win.

As bad as the Carolina game was, I thought the Tampa Bay loss was far worst, seeing that we beat the Bucs earlier that year, it was the final game at the vet, and the fact that the Patriots had an off year and the Oakland Raiders would have been our superbowl opponent.

There was no way we would have had lost to the Raiders if we were to beat Tampa Bay.

Unluckiest in terms of the fact that Snider's always spent a lot of money and the team has almost always been in position to compete but Philly still has nothing to show for it since 1975.

I also found this point interesting:
>>"they also considered attendance at games in bad weather in which the Eagles also had the highest..."

I know I've stood through a lot of shitty weather at Eagles games. In Philly the weather in November and December is almost always 35-degree rain. I'd gladly trade snowy Bills weather or freeze-my-testicles Packers weather for our miserable cold rain. I've never stayed home from it, though.

READ: Bullshit.

See folks, when you don't have actual numbers, like real live breathing fans, you use "multiple regression analysis" to massage the numbers to come up with a bullshit answer.

The eagles aren't even in the top 5.

Look at the teams they picked, the system was obviously contrived.

CB, sorry to be rude, but the reason they did that was due to no two stadiums having the exact same amount of seats. I mean, if your team sells out every game, and you have the most seats, does that mean you have the most popular team? Not necessarily.
Plus, to be fair, the Eagles have had so many bad seasons in their history, the fact they still sell among the best in impressive. Remember, your Steelers are among the most sucessful teams in USA sports history, and ticket sales will almost always be high if your team wins, which yours has a lot.

That's a consideration but it isn't the entire story.

It's called Steeler NATION for a reason. Hell, NFL films did a presentation on it.

I'm an Indyfag, and I am still undecided on the matter. The team practically envelops the entire city here (lol Pacers), but they've been pretty respectable for nearly a decade. I wonder what will happen when things inevitably take a downturn, whenever that may be.

You're kidding right? All their fans are bandwagon jumpers. Being a Bengals fan, I have seen it all the time. Only the true fans stick with their team after a decade without a winning season. Wait until it happens to the Patriots and watch all those "dedicated" fans disappear.
