Find me a school with a more impressive trio of alumni currently raping the NFL than Cal's Rodgers, BEAST MODE Lynch, and Desean Foster.

If the Packers really wanted Favre so badly, don't you think they'd have taken him back when he tried to return in the summer?

Letting him go was a move for the future, in a few years Favre will be retired, Green Bay will have a quarterback and the Jets will have to scramble for one. The fact Rodgers is playing well now is a bonus.

Wtf, massive typo. Obviously I mean Desean JACKSON, not Foster. brb an hero

Favre = legend.

Packers were scum for treating him like that. He could have been reserve QB or something

>Favre= guy who played at a slightly above average level for a godawful length of time.

>The Packers were right for doing what they did, giving him several chances to come back and making good with their promise to the Quarterback they have sunk millions of dollars into raising. I hope they sent a message to the rest of the league when dealing with bratty athletes.

There were some typos my friend, but luckily I was here to help you out.

I wasn't aware 3 MVPs (more than anyone else in the history of the NFL) was "slightly above average."

But otherwise I pretty much agree. Favre retired, then unretired when the Packers had already essentially announced that Rodgers was going to be the QB. The Packers moved on and Rodgers is doing very well in his first year as a starter. Favre is doing pretty well with the Jets too. Even at his age he's the best the Jets have, and maybe he can help "tutor" Clemens.

>>427183
You know Favre's feeling on helping younger Quarterbacks learn how to play. He got pretty damn pissy when he was asked about helping Rodgers learn the ropes.

Perhaps he will continue his run of being a spoiled brat however by doing a 180 and helping Clemens all he can.

Actually, Farve retired in March, and then the team went back to him in late march to make sure Farve would stay retired and he said he would. That's when the Packers threw full support on Rodgers.

I remember that. That was pretty much when I saw Favre for the sandy vagina that he is.
>> Anonymous
>>427196
Exactly, this is what is lost on most of the Favre supporters in all this. After he retired several times throughout the summer they went to him and pretty much asked 'Are you suuuuuure you want to be retired?'

Its like he purposely waited until the worst possible moment to go 'LOL JK GUIZ!' and its absolutely disgusting.

I always liked Favre, but his whole legacy has been tarnished so much in the past few months. I'm not a Fudgepacker fan, but I'm glad Rodgers is doing well so nobody second guesses the front office for not bringing that faggot Favre back.
>> Anonymous
If you think something like this will 'tarnish' Favre's legacy you're retarded. No one will give a shit about any of this one way or the other in 5 years. Favre will be retired and his accomplishments will speak louder than his sandy vagina, end of story.
>> Anonymous
>>427243
lol wut

Greatness is measured by how decisively a player knows he's retired. Playing past your prime is a red flag the player isn't in complete control of his own legacy and hence isn't great.

>>427259
Wow, no, you could not possibly be more wrong.

Michael Jordan, case in point.
>> Anonymous
>>427262
Maybe I'm wrong, but didn't he still go to the playoffs (or get close to it) those last few years he decided to play? He might have not been OMG awesome, but he wasn't all that bad either even as age caught up to him.

Leroy Butler made the comment that this business with Millen is only the tip of the iceberg.

Brett's accomplishments will never be challenged *even though the LOLIRONMAN of the NFL was addicted to painkillers*, but his reputation in Green Bay could take a kick in the dick.

Which I greatly hope it does.

For those of you with short attention spans, let me clarify that Brett Favre FUCKING LEFT. The Packers did not cut him. He left in March, he fucking retired. The Packers even asked him before the draft if he was planning on coming back or not, and he said NO. The Packers proceeded to give A-Rod all the snaps in training camp and springball and they drafted 2 QUARTERBACKS to fill in for Rodgers as backups. They were done. There was nothing that could change their minds. When Favre came back the train had left the station for fucks sake.

The media is pretty much giving Favre a free ride for this

Can you imagine the shitstorm if T.O. pulled something like this?
