I hope the Eagles fans/management don't REALLY think Kolb will be better than McNabb.

Agreed. McNabb may be on the downward slide but he is still better.

Kolb is going to be so shitty it won't even be funny.

I live in Philly... I'm a Philly fan... have been my whole life. They really DO believe that Kolb will come out and be the next Tom Brady. Some have been calling for Kolb since about... week 6 of last season.

McNabb is the best QB in Philly's history and if that fat FUCK Andy Reid would have surrounded him with a few weapons, the Eagles could have won at least 1 time. If you're gonna throw the fucking ball 70% of the fucking time... get a talented fucking receiver! FUCKING LOGIC DICTATES THAT! WHERE THE FUCK IS ANDY REID'S LOGIC! GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY CITY YOU FAT FUCKING KNOW-NOTHING!

T.O.?

>>487529

T.O. was here for 1 year. Look what happened in that 1 full season. McNabb put up astounding numbers and they made the SB. That's exactly the point. He had one super star WR and look what happened.

They both need to go and the franchise is gonna have to spend 3 years recovering. McNabb irritates me more then any pro sports player ever other then Bonds and Kobe. He got pulled after the first half by going 8 for 18 with 3 turnovers AND HE'S LAUGHING AND SMILING ON THE SIDELINES? He and his mom can go fuck themselves in the ass with a few cans of Campbell's Chunky Soup.

>>487531
He got tired and nervous and blew the 4th quarter? Yea

Man I hope McNabb gets reunited with T.O. as the Cowboys backup

It's stuff like this why I gave up on the franchise about 10-12 years ago...and I'm 21 years old. Even I knew how much bullshit was in this franchise.

Oh, and Andy Reid has ALWAYS been a horrific coach; people are just noticing now because he's been even more horrific than usual.
>> Anonymous
>>487537

Yeah, I'm sure you understood at 9-11 years old the inner-workings of the Eagles franchise and how much bullshit was in the franchise. No, you figured it all out. It wasn't your dad or something that convinced you to root for someone else... it was all you at 9 years old. You must have been a genius.

>>487536
No. It needs its own thread.
>> Anonymous
>>487542

Yep. When all the other teams around you were winning and you realize that this throw shouldn't have been thrown that far or that this play doesn't make sense, and you see how your coach does everything to keep from throwing players under the bus when it's needed and that same coach doesn't adjust his gameplans to suit the situation and your front office signs players that seem like they're not needed and you see every team in your division try to do whatever they can to win while your franchise just stands pat and you see the epic fail drives and non clutch play in 95% of games and you see how they lowball all their players which is why so very few players decide to stay and you hear your owner make comments that don't fit what's actually happening and you see everyone viciously boo your team during the introductions (Eagles vs. Redskins 1999) and you see your coach STILL have no concept of how the challenge works as well as the clock, you tend to lose faith in your franchise.

And my father's a disgusting bandwagoner who'll basically suck the dick of anyone five games above .500 and white.
>> Anonymous
>>487544

So, you figured that out when you were 9 years old? Even though the challenge wasn't in the NFL at that time? That all sounds like stuff that happened this year... not 10-12 years ago, maybe 10-12 games ago. The Eagles were terrible in the 90's too, but they examples you're saying are the Eagles current problems.

Either way, a true fan stays with his team through hard times and great, but 4chan doesn't understand that... so... whatever.

I was just giving a rundown of all the issues that have bothered me during and since that time. Obviously that all didn't happen just then, but that's when I started to lose faith. A lot of people I know, young and old, feel the same way; they just thought something was wrong about the Eagles' approach and all the small things just added up. Oh, I forgot to mention the Drafts. They've had about 2 great drafts since 1998 (2002 and 1998, then the McNaab pick), and it's just frustrating to see them draft the way they have since '02.

I also forgot about the Michael Irvin paralyzed incident. As a fan of sports in general, even I couldn't believe the cheers from the Eagles fans at someone who possibly would never move again, rivalry be damned. Now I understand that's the fans and not the team, and I'm not blaming the team. But when I'm a boy with a good moral compass and you see THAT from the hometown fans, it really distanced me from the team; I didn't want to be lumped into that at the time.
>> Anonymous
Reid is a stubborn fuck who couldn't even properly raise 2 sons, how do you expect him to properly coach a team?

No clock management
No clue with challenges
Never adapts the gameplan till its halfway through the 4th quarter and already waaaaay too late

McNabb was great when he was a mobile quarterback who was a danger to run 10 yards every down. Guess what? He's not mobile anymore. He's significantly slower, and is afraid to get hit for fear of more injuries. He's a mediocre passer and thats why he's done. Can't win the big games, he gets nervous or gets tired, and his inability to go to a hurry up offense when the clock is ticking is just beyond belief.
>> Anonymous
>>487562

He also can't scramble for 5 yards without getting winded for 5 game time minutes.

That said, I feel really bad for the guy. His legacy is gonna be the 46-second Dry Heave, Rush Limbaugh, and "LOL Overtime?" And he's the best QB in this franchise's history. That hurts.

Philly is a strange paradox. Their sports fans are like rabid animals, yet in every day situations they, as a general rule, live up to the "city of brotherly love" quite well. The few times I've been to Philadelphia random strangers were always quite nice and helpful. I don't get it.

Sports are how we let out our primal aggressions. Our sportsfan persona should never be equated with real life.

Well unless you bring up sports talk around the watercooler at work.

Prepare to get into some fights.

No Colt McCoy will be better for the Eagles. He basically runs the West Coast offense at Texas so he would be able to understand the offense a lot quicker. Plus his release is insanely quick.
