Upshaw was way too cozy with the owners for the players' liking.

Now that he's dead, there will be an NFL players strike within three years.

I call scab RB

and it's gonna happen the players will not even hear a deal untill after 2010's uncapped salary cap season (Redskins in 2010 if they play, you heard it here first) The owners may have to lockout the players to force the union to make a deal.

So this season and next season are ok. 2010 their in aggrement of playing with no cap and 2011 they were supposed to have a new deal in place.

expect the NFLPA to become more powerful than the baseball union in the next 16-18 months.

NFL salary cap is a big ass can of worms...if you open it, you ain't getting the worms back in.

If the NFL has a season without a cap, they are fu-hucked.

you shut your whore mouth. as much as he was a crazy person in his NFL dealings, he was an amazing offensive lineman at it sucks to lose such a legend

I bet he wished he had a better health plan for retired players now.

Delay, deny, and hope they die, huh, Mr. Upshaw?

I hope all the disabled NFL retirees form a line to piss on his grave.

I call Gene Hack-man's roll as the coach.

But honestly, this is one of the worst things that could happen with the Owners/Players Association, for this guarentees another strike/lockout in the next few years, and Baseball and Basketball will finally get a chance to reclaim their being the number 1 and 2 leagues in popularity in America. Hell, the NHL, though it will still be in fourth, could at least become profitable again.

Somewhere, Bug Selig and David Stern are smoking victory cigars in a hot tub.

RIP Gene, RIP.
