Op here, sorry for not being specific.
i mean right now, as in the current series.

If you want to see a team who wins now, won back then and will win in the future (theoretically because of their bankroll)? Yankees.

If you want a team with huge traction who seems to be here to stay, Red Sox. (Don't go Red Sox.)

I'd personally recommend the Devil Rays, or another mid-market team who's relatively successful.

okay.

1) avoid any team that's a perennial loser that doesn't do anything about it (there's underdogs, and then there are fans who are masochists). this means avoiding the pirates, royals, orioles (management there is shit - sad, they were good in the 70s), padres (though if you like california for some reason, you can factor them in), or tigers (their massive suck this year is just the universe returning to its proper state), mariners, rangers, nationals (you sucked as the expos, you suck now), astros (lawl no postseason series wins until 2004), brewers, giants (lolbarry), rockies.

2) stay away from major market teams, as they attract bandwagon fans like crazy. boston red sox, ny yankess/mets, la dodgers/angels, chicago cubs/white sox, and atlanta braves (who only suck so much because tbs always has their games on and i hate chip caray).

that leaves tampa bay rays, toronto blue jays, minnesota twins, cleveland indians, oakland as, philadelphia phillies, florida marlins (heavily recommended - they always have good young players, but are always the underdog because as soon as they get good they trade them away after a year or two), st. louis cardinals, cincinnati reds, and arizona diamondbacks.

have fun.

Yankees

Every year they start off as underdogs but always at least make it to the playoffs

BTW the 1998 Yankees were the best team since the 60's (which were also Yankees) that was a joke
>> Anonymous
>>132349
tigers were relevant up until about 1970 or so. they were mediocre in the 70s, okay in the 80s (yes, WS, but they missed the playoffs 6 of the 10 years), and were one of the worst teams in baseball for well over a decade. 2 good seasons the past 2 years, and now they're back where they belong in the basement.

All that means is that your city is so shitty that downtown real estate is cheap enough to put a giant ball park in it.

All we get is a view of the beautiful Bronx

according to the fbi's crime database, the new york metropolitan district has an incidence rate of 551 violent crimes per 100k citizens. provo is at 93.5

oh, and new york city alone has an incidence rate of 638 (52,086 reported cases of violent crime in 8,165,001 people = 637.9 per 100k, in case you want to check the math).

Go with the A's. They have a rich history, and are statistically one of the most successful franchises in terms of getting to the playoffs and winning. In modern times they are decided underdogs in payroll, yet consistently manage to remain competitive. Also, there's pretty much a 0% probability of bandwagon fans. Can't have bandwagoners when you dont have any fans to begin with.

>Also, there's pretty much a 0% probability of bandwagon fans.

AhahahahahBULLSHIT.

Every fucking stat-obsessed nerd masturbates himself to sleep at night dreaming of the day when WILLIAM A. BEAN, ESQUIRE wins himself a World Series and validates their pathetic nonsense. OP's pic related - 99% of A's fans look like the 2nd guy from the right (though that's better than Giants fans, who look like the one on the far left).
