The Hitman
ITT: Our nations best current crop of boxers

British

Ricky Hatton won 43 lost 1
Junior Witter Won 36 Drawn 2 lost 0
Amir Khan Won 14 lost 0.

I think hatton will fight on for maybe another 4 matches then call it a day unfortunately. The mayweather fight was a big blow for him. Witter is a twat but there is no denying he's a top boxer. Amir khan hasn't left the domestic stage yet but in his last fight he knocked the guy out in 30 seconds and won, suggesting he will take the step up fairly soon, the next prince naz?
Im interested in what the americans are producing for boxing

Khan is overrated EOD

Amir Khan has won 16 lost 0, but he's quite possibly one of the most overrated fighters ever, and he's gonna get raped when he steps up to World title level, or fights anyone with a knockout punch.

David Haye and Enzo Maccarinelli are the number 1 and 2 at Cruiserweight and they fight next month which i can't fucking wait for.

Also Joe Calzaghe fight Bernard Hopkins next month but i don't know if he can win that.

Joe Calzaghe is... god. He kicked the shit out of that guy off the contender

lol, Peter Manfredo. That fight never should have happened, Joe's in a completely different league. He only took the fight to get some more attention from the americans.

Was Mario Kindelan as good as people said he was?

Yeah he was, that's why he won gold at the last Olympics. But he didn't have a very hard punch, and probably wouldn't have been a top professional though. Amir did well to beat him in the return, but he trained for that fight specifically just a pro trains for a fight with a training camp, where as Kindelan most likely treated it as just another bout. You also can't rule out the possibility of the fight not being legitimate.

I dislike the fact that Enzo Maccarinelli is completely uncared for. A great fighter, won 28 lost 1 (by a lucky knockout).

Oh and Amir Khan isnt overrated. I cant really understand how anyone could ever come to that conclusion. He hasnt actually fucked up once in a fight. Oh you might think he is overrated because he is a muslim though. That must be it.

I dislike muslims, that is true. You can't say that he hasn't fucked up though, what about the willie limmond fight? How Limmond managed to lose the fight i don't know and won't ever know. He had Amir out on his feet, even though he's a complete non-puncher which pretty much proves Amir's lack of a chin. Also he could have easily been knocked out by the journeyman Lazslo Komjatti in one of his earlier fights when he stuck his chin out.

It's a matter of time before he gets his clock cleaned and there's no way he can survive with the best of the best, such as Juan Diaz, David Diaz, Michael Katsidis and/or Joel Casamayor.

OP here, dont get me wrong I cant stand khan he's just another cocky muzzy twat, but he has huge potential and it will be very interesting to see what happens if/when he steps up to the world stage. I would also like to see him grow some balls and pick his own fight instead of being told who he can fight

Yeah, there's no doubt Frank Warren is being very clever in picking the safest route to the top.

Also he's definitely dodging John Thaxton, i'd like to see that fight before he steps up.

what does everyone think about hatton, who do you think will be his next fight? im hoping its at COMS se he can fight at his home! I know whitter is hankering after a fight but he's built his career on the back of ricky & slagged him off so hatton doesnt want to give him his big break. IMO Hatton would wipe the floor with him.

4th round TKO are you referring to? i'll let you argue this one yourself. (cringe)

Hatton is great but i think he needs to ditch Billy Graham because their partnership just doesn't seem to be working anymore. I'd like to seem him fight Malignaggi or Witter next, and i think he'd win against either of them. Witter doesn't do enough to be able to beat Hatton unless he can get a lucky punch, and Paulie doesn't punch hard enough to stop the onsluaght. I think he should stick to the Light Welterweight division and just clean it up and beat anyone in the top 10 worthy of fighting him.

What? That makes no sense.

The trouble with thaxton is he just isnt built for Khan's speed and reach.
>> Anonymous
>>1899

yeh I agree, he should just fight the top 10 & finish on a high. I hope he doesnt get the rematch with mayweather because truth be told he's just not good enough. I was talking it up saying hatton was going to win because of his technical skills but I watched mayweather and he was just awesome, as much as I hate the cocky bastard you cant question his ability.

Im looking forward to seeing how John Murray turns out, another born & bred in Manchester, he's got a clean record too 22-0 (12 KOs). He was on just before hatton at the MGM & looked really good.

Yeah, but he has a good chin and throws constant knock-out punches and never seems to get tired. I think he could easily catch Khan with something and put him out. He survived Hatton so i don't think Amir could do him any damage and would have to go for a points win.

Yeah, I also thought he'd win because of his intensity but i changed my mind after the first punch Mayweather landed, it pretty obvious he couldn't win quite early on.

Yeah i'm also looking at other fighters as bigger prospects than Amir Khan, like Murray for example, and it pisses me off that he gets all the publicity and is constantly on chat shows purely because he's a muslim and not because of his talent.

my fuckin thoughts exactly! Agh finaly someone who agrees with me! Im hoping Murray gets pushed, he could go right to the top
