Why the fuck do you Packerfags think this guy and Ryan Grant are gonna be so good? Is it the last thing you have to cling to after Brett Favre retired? I want reasons, /sp/.

inb4 NFC North fan, I am a Giants fan.

I don't understand why people automatically assume he's going to be either terrible OR good. He hasn't started a game yet. Same with /cle/ fags and brady quinn.

Stop fucking assuming.

He's been pretty clutch thus far in the games he has played in, though its hardly enough to judge him by. Hes not going to be the next Brett Favre of course, he's been under Favre's wing for awhile now, and most QBs that are on the bench for a few years are pretty decent (Tony Romo, Sage Rosenfels, Shaun Hill).
I think he will be pretty good this year. He has the supporting cast to help him out as well, so playoffs is possible. If he sucks, Brian Brohm is there to help him out.

packersfag here. personally i think we're fucked for 30 years again until the coming of Brett Favre 2.0.

but it's nice to have hope for the best.

Whoever the running back and quarterback are, they'll still have that kickass offensive line and receiving corps to play with, so they can't fail that miserably.

you packerfags have been spoiled for too long.

you know it's possible to be good without a Hall of Fame QB

Aaron Rodgers doesn't have to be Brett Favre in his first year as a starter. The Packers' offense can spread the defense out with 4 and 5 WR sets or go double tight ends and run Grant. All Rodgers has to do is manage the game, and as long as the Packers' defense plays well (no. 5 in yards against and no. 7 in scoring), the Packers can be successful.

its threads like this that make me think im the only person on sp who isnt a soccer hooligan.

the packers have the NFC north title by default, because theyre the only team with a quarterbak. *GASP* what did he just say!?

minnesota, i excpect two more wins out of them than last season, unless JDB starts. AND develops very quickly, and im a fan of small school athletes but tarvaris jackson is DREADFUL, p.s i have a sneeking suspicion that allen is not going to fit into that locker room too well.

the bears, jesus christ the best thing you can say about cedric benson (i personally like the guy) is that he isnt a good fit for the offense, the worst is... anyway matt forte could reignite the running game, so then what do you have? an aging defense, an ok running game, and no quarterback, your in the same boat as the vicotins.

and detroit, sweet jesus this isnt a trainwreck this...something else entirely. ok

#1 new offensive coordinator jim colleto shocks the world and sticks with jon kitna in mike martz's spread(?) offense and the team continues its roll of supplying fantasy football leagues with starting reievers.
option #2 colletto installs his west coast offense, sophomore drew stanton (michigan state) takes over, lions surprise everybody and finish 7-9 3rd in the NFC North in front of the Bears

and like i said in another thread today, i think aaron is a better fit for mcarthy's west coast offense than brett favre was, so the packers SHOULD have 13-14 wins in the regular season and choke in the playoffs

Grant was good last year, and he's young and improving, which is why people think he'll be good.

Rodgers, when he wasn't out with hurt feelings or some shit, showed he could run McCarthy's offense pretty well, which is good. The pressure could get to him, though. New starter, replace Favre, etc.

Hit the nail on the head.

Seriously, Green Bay should be fine. Other than the Vikes, there ain't no real challenge.

as a longtime packsfag i have no faith in rodgers or brohm or any QB in our roster. I want our defense to keep improving and for our quarterback not to fuck up at key moments. We have a good chance at the division title and then anything can happen in the playoffs.

Denverfag here. Let me speak from experiance. When John Elway left, we cried and tried to look to the future so hard that we were willing to consider that Bubby Brister and Brian Griese were the greatest things since sliced bread.

We don't know how Aaron Rodgers will do, but unless he plays like Brett Farve (very, VERY unlikely) it will be a downgrade at that position. Vikings get the division.
