i was cold when i saw the end score, we lost the unloseable game
>> Anonymous
good game Billy Slater, lol.

I cant believe they won. I had given up all hope of nz rugby league a long time ago. I have only watched union for years. They pulled it out of their ass from what I hear. Good fucking job though.

The have Kiwis done pretty well in finals of the last few big tournaments.

They won the 2005 Tri Nations, they took the 2006 3N to Golden Point in one of the best games I've ever seen, and now they've won tonight.

I'm incredibly pissed that we lost but I guess it'll be good for the game in NZ.

>>482001The have Kiwis done
lol
In my defence I did have a few drinks while watching the game.

>>482005
Lol no worries mate. So have I. I didn't even pick that up until you pointed it out.

Also yeah I hope it does help the game but i don't think NZ is big enough to support two codes if you know what i mean. Union will always be the dominant code in NZ and every kid growing up in NZ wants to be an All Black.

GO KIWIS!!! FUCK AUSSIE!!!
>> Anonymous
Wow I can't believe this.
The aussies looked dead certain to win this.
The kiwis had better previous world cup encounters yet fucked those up, and now they win this. WTF?

>>482008
Yeah I doubt Union will ever really be challenged as numero uno as long as the AB's ar around. :) In saying that, the NZRL should be aiming to be the outright 'second' sport in NZ.
>> Anonymous
Lol thats what NZ is built on. Pulling unbelievable shit out of its ass, Fucking Kiwis are crazy.

>>482019
would be nice if we could spread the talent around to cricket as well. We cant support 3 sports.
>> Anonymous
>>482022We cant support 3 sports.
I dunno, there's only RL/RU/soccer and cricket in NZ that are serious sports.

Compare that to QLD (same population as NZ), it supports more sports at higher levels/wins way more Olympic medals/etc.

>>482031
NZ won more medals than aus per capita
>> Anonymous
>>482044
Which is why I said QLD
>> Anonymous
Nobody gives any shits about medals per capita. It's about amount, period.

ok so the USSR win then.
No worries.

I for one would like to congratulate Ashley Klein for his stellar performance for the kiwis tonight. He was definitely robbed of the man of the match.
>> Anonymous
I wish nz cricket was as strong as it used to be.
We were never a powerhouse but we werent that bad. More money needs to be put in!

>>482067
It took NZ a few decades just to win one test. The only reason they ever did well was because of Hadlee.

Darren Lockyer is named man of the match, although the Brisbane Bronco, sporting a nasty cut to the eye as well as a voice as horse as coalminer's, looks about as thrilled as the man who just discovered his winning lottery ticket was for the week before.

Can you blame him?
- He was captain of the side that just lost by 14 points.
- First Aussie captain to lose the WC in fuck knows how long.
- He had publicly planned the last few years around retiring from international footy after the WC (which he planned to win as captain).
- They got him up on stage o speak not just once but twice, first as MOTM and secondly as captain of the losing team. That's just rubbing it in his face.
