You're all wrong. He's gonna be a Buccaneer because Gruden fucking loves to sign as many QBs as possible, and especially likes it if they're old.

At least my hypothesis will be proven: Favre only looked good thanks to his receivers last year. If the Packers have any sense of justice, they'll trade his grandstanding ass to the Dolphins and let him rot in football hell.

>When Favre was reminded by the Packers' brass that it was in March when the quarterback said publicly and privately that he wasn't 100 percent committed to football, sources said. Favre acknowledged his state of mind at the time, but added that he never felt he was a 100 percent committed in March of previous years, either. Favre felt he had to make a decision to retire because the Packers were pressing him for an answer, a source said.

GEE BRETT, THE PACKERS ACTUALLY WANTED YOU TO STOP WAFFLING? THATS HORRIBLE!

Also, I am always 100% committed to football in March. You just suck, pal.

As a Packer fan and Favre fan I'm incredibly torn. One side of me wants Favre to sit his ass down and make a good damn decision and stop renigging. At the same time, I feel the Packers should be like fuck yes. I hope Aaron Rodgers shuts all of our mouths.

I'm calling it right now although I'm sure my fellow anon already knows.

Favre is gonna have a horrible season thanks to karma for him being such a shithead and taking up EVERY last second on ESPN like he just freed Tibet or some shit when he's not even that big of a deal outside of Wisconsin faggot's closed minds and next March you will see him bawwwing while announcing he retires again.

I think the Packers should just say "fuck you" and not release him OR let him back on the team. He retired, let him stay retired.

I mean, if he's gonna dick around the team like this and be an attention whore, I don't think they're obligated to let him go somewhere else and play against them.
>> Anonymous

You know what's a nice problem to have? Getting dicked around by Brett Favre.

He's either going to be their starting QB for another year, or net them a mid-round draft pick / disgruntled player in a trade.

He won't be a backup anywhere; his consecutive starts streak would end. If it came down to that, I think he'd make up some bullshit about how his heart isn't in it after all and we wouldn't have to see him again.

There's so much money in sports anymore, you'd have to be mad to leave if you aren't on your death bed. I expect to see many players, in all sports, stay well past their welcome from here on. It's like free money. Favre had another good five years in him, at least.

Favre to KC.

Joe Montana pt. 2

i actually do not get boners over Brett Favre, like every NFL outlet. I also do not live in Wisconsin. If he was black, no one would care. Frankly, the Packers should let him become the qb for the vikings already. He will revert to form, throwing moar interceptions than touchdowns. Plus, every one knows Tom Brady is best QB, or Matt Leinart.
>> Anonymous

OK, enough of this shit. Favre is the all-time leader in touchdowns, yards, and consecutive games. What more do you need for best quarterback ever? Montana, Young, Aikman, Brady, and Elway all had great teams around them.
>> Anonymous
>>212040
you selectively ignored interceptions. I still don't get this love for a guy with the same amount of Super Bowls as Trent Dilfer. And on top of that, for the last four yrs, he keeps saying i'm retiring. This man is totally high-maintennance. This is what it sounds like When his vagina cries?

You don't take a day off for 17 FUCKING YEARS IN A ROW, of course you do. Cy Young lost more games than anybody, but do people care?

If you think a team's success hinges only on its quarterback, you're wrong.
>high-maintanence
Why does that matter? We're talking about his ability to play quarterback.

what else do you need? howabout not the most all time interceptions, and a sub-par completion percentage? or more rings?

he doesn't even deserve to be in the conversation of best ever.

wow, you want to have sex with an athlete. And I assume you are a man. He's a shitty qb for the last decade, he had one good year, because the coach reined him in. Also, once again, I do not understand his skills, his attraction. I know Madden wants to blow him, but that's weird and awful. Every year, he says he is retiring, every year the Packers have to deal with the salary cap. Because his vagina aches and he wants people to beg for him. Because he is a woman. Elway quit. This fag, never.
>> Anonymous
>>212051
Favre: 61.4%
Elway: 56.9%
Montana: 63.2%
Manning: 64.2%
Brady: 63.0% but has a long way to go before career is over
Aikman: 61.5%
Marino: 59.4%

I'd say Favre's % is pretty damn good
>> Anonymous
Joe Montana went through this same sort of bullshit, only he got his ass injured and Steve Young demonstrated he could play ball in Montana's absence.

The Pack is tossing their Hall of Famer out, after another full and very good season, for Aaron Rodgers.

Is the Pack really that worried they need to evaluate Rodgers before his rookie contract runs out? I've never understood the big hurry to get this old geezer out the door, unless Rodgers is just lighting it up in practice everyday and McCarthy hasn't told anybody.

what percentage? I would say he is 61.4% of being a sad gf who begs for more attention than he is due. God, he is a sad little girl, his vagina needs rubbing. I'm only happy if Green Bay stops doing it. Also, Elway beat Favre. All those other QBS never had tear-stained retirements year after year after year.

Fuck it, i'm not a lame Midwesterner, I don't get the attraction. Let the Favre guy go to another team, so he can revert to form and throw twice as many interceptions than tds. Actually, he should be a Chicago Bear, and Jay Mariotti would pretend to think it is awesome, and he go and throw more IT's than Grossman.

This post brought to you by the Sports as Soap Opera foundation.

Nobody cares how many press conferences Favre holds, as long as they aren't the Green Bay beat writer assigned to attend all of them. Which I doubt is you.
>> Anonymous
>>212089Steve Young was in the same position Aaron Rodgers was in now.

You are ignorant and probably an underaged troll.

Joe Montana missed the entire 1991 season due to injury, and was Young's backup in 1992, when Young won his first MVP. Then the 49ers traded him to KC in 1993.

Meanwhile, Aaron Rodgers has done didily shit.
>> Anonymous
>>212094

because he never got the opportunity you stupid, assuming cunt. He's played like half of one game. That's it.

Actually, Rodgers is in a better position than Young was. Young originally fucked up his image with the Bucs where he was THREE FOR SIXTEEN.
>> Anonymous
>>212095
You're the one assuming Aaron Rodgers = Steve Young without any evidence whatsoever to the contrary.

At no point has Aaron come in and been effective over the course of many games, or beaten out the old man in training camp.

>Young originally fucked up his image

That matters. Good point, Rodgers doesn't have image problems.

>You're the one assuming Aaron Rodgers = Steve Young without any evidence whatsoever to the contrary.

When did I ever say that Aaron Rodgers = Steve Young? I'd like you to point that out. I said that FOR ALL WE KNOW, HE COULD BE STEVE YOUNG.

key word being could. Right now, he is unproven and still a variable, but you shouldn't assume that he's not going to amount to anything great in his career becaus no one knows yet.

>At no point has Aaron come in and been effective over the course of many games, or beaten out the old man in training camp.

Steve Young was also Montana's backup for four years. You could also say that if Steve Young was so great than why didn't he beat the "old man" in training camp?

It's not Rodgers' fault Favre never got injured.
>> Anonymous
>>212114
Fine, you never said he was, you just think he might. But you blast me for saying he hasn't done didily shit, then you turn around and say Rodgers is unproven, like that's some positive trait that not doing didily shit isn't.

>You could also say that if Steve Young was so great than why didn't he beat the "old man" in training camp?

Except he did, then won an NFL MVP award. If Aaron Rodgers beats Brett Favre in camp this year, or if Brett Favre gets injured and Rodgers comes in and does real well, then I've got no beef with Rodgers do I? Then you have every reason to tell Favre to hit the road.

But telling your QB to leave just so the kid doesn't need to win a camp battle? Or, in some fans' case, because your sick of hearing about the old QB? That's ludicrous.

Being unproven is a bad trait, not a good one, when the QB you have now is. You're holding hope superior to competence.

For all we know, my 7-year-old nephew could be the next Steve Young. He deserves a shot in Packers training camp, they really need a change of QB.

While it's not exactly enough to push him over, Aaron Rodgers did show signs of being a capable QB when stepping in for Favre this year.
So sure, the other guy should have brought this up for himself, and it's no mvp performance that Young had. But it's worth noting, the team made plans to move on and Brett gave his 'heartfelt' retirement speech, everything about their offseason almost has been about Aaron or replacing Brett. It makes sense for them to continue moving on

Plus, maybe Brett can teach Rexy in Chicago.
