EPIC REPLY

habeeb it, big east hater fags.

GEORGIA FUCKING SUCKS
>> Anonymous
>>21693
seriously last year was a down year in the sec, with florida or tennessee not making the sec championship game, guess who goes, no not kentucky, Georgia! Lsu plays terrible and georgia wins on a few fluke calls, i really was glad that west virgina beat georgia, but it wasnt that big a deal. and another thing, people made such a big fucking deal about the lsu miami bowl game, i really think if lsu had played west virginia had played lsu, i think they still would have won.

That was the best answer ever.

People are only saying the SEC had a down year last year because Georgia lost, and people can't accept any other answer. Alabama crushed Texas Tech. Florida beat Iowa. LSU raped Miami. The SEC didn't look overrated in the bowls. And yet, Big East champ crushed the SEC champ with a freshman QB and a freshman RB.

You can probably make a case for every team in the country being overrated this year, so picking on WVU and Louisville is just bias imo. I'm pumped as shit for Thursday's game, and whether you think they're overrated or not, the game matters, because the winner of it is going to play in the national title game.

>Alabama crushed Texas Tech

excuse me, but what Cotton Bowl were you watching? Maybe you're thinking about the year before, when Tennessee crushed Texas A&M.

Winning on a late field goal does not count as crushing a team.
>> Anonymous
>>21725
Nah, the final score didn't show how Bama's D dominated the Red Raiders through most of the game. Granted Tech made a good comeback towards the end, it's still hilarious watching the end of that game with the Tech fans celebrating thinking that the field goal was no good...
>> Anonymous
>>21727
Their D might have crushed Tech, but their offense was so incompetent that their only touchdown was on a play that should have been brought back.

If a Big LEast team winds up playing in the National Title game, the system is seriously screwed up. Have you LOOKED at WVU's schedule this year? It's ridiculous. It's insulting. It's a schedule Boise State could go undefeated with, too.

At least any SEC team has to play other SEC teams. Who does WVU get to play? Syracuse? Connecticut? South Fucking Florida?

Next. If Rutgers beats the winner of this game, then everything you just said means jack and shit. Also remember-- Louisville has actually played a respectable team this year (Miami), and it was only a year ago UL lost to USF.

The Big East is a mess, they just didn't schedule any remotely important games until the final three weeks of the season. Because the commissioner is a fucking cheater.
>> Anonymous
>>21781
Well consider this, if Louisville beats undefeated WVU and later defeats undefeated Rutgers they deserve a chance. Specially after whipping up Miami but the ACC is hardly competition this year.

That is not even to mention the Big Ten and SEC are not at their strongest this yea.
>> Anonymous
The SEC is the best conference this year, but only by a small margin.

The ACC sucks. Period.
The Big East is great at the top and horrible at the bottom.
As far as the Big 10 goes, they are like the Big East, but just slightly better at the top and slightly better at the bottom.
The Pac 10 looked bad in non-conference, save USC. The only significant non-conference win by a Pac 10 team other than USC was a game that team didn't even deserve to win.
The Big 12 has a few really good teams, but as a whole they are just a little better than mediocre.

The SEC is good, but they looked so-so in non-conference play, and their doormat teams are just as bad as the Big East's.

>>21781
Have you seen MOST of the teams schedules this year? How many times has Auburn barely pulled out a win against an UNRANKED opponent? What about Texas nearly losing to Texas Tech? And USC? Let's not even go there, they're the most overrated team.

West Virginia is good. They've got great running and decent passing. Great rush defense but mediocre passing defense. If WVU can pick up their secondary they'll be set.

However, you will not see WVU in the national championships. BCS is all about MONEY not the best teams, in case you noobs didn't know. The teams who can bring in the most money in ad revenue end up playing the big games. That's just how it is.
>> Kilgamayan !2BklmILFiE
All this is irrelevant becaue Michigan/Ohio State will be the BCS championship game regardless of the outcome of their first meeting.

East coast bias.

Most of the teams are in the Eastern Time Zone, and since the PAC-10 is all out west by itself, none of you even get to see these teams play, and thus have no idea. The SEC,ACC,Big Least, Big 10 are all crammed together geographically... then the Big 12 out yonder, then the PAC-10 two time zones beyond that. If the MWC would fucking step up and finish a team in the Top 10 often enough to get an auto-BCS berth, that stigma would chance (they fucked that up this year, but that's a whole other thread)... but the point is, I've watched USC play, I've watched Texas play, and they're good.

Know who else is good? Cal (beat USC). And Ohio State (beat Texas). Who the FUCK did West Virginia beat? (no one). Who the FUCK did Michigan beat? (still waiting to see).

There are four teams of roughly equal skill at the top of the Big Yeast, WVU/UL/Pitt/Rutgers. When they all beat each other, maybe everyone will finally shut the fuck up. But it's a slow news week, so the media (also on the east coast) talks about these teams like they're legit.

Until you beat someone, you're not legit. Which doesn't make the Big East better-- it makes the ACC worse. Fuckers.

USC sucks I don't know where you're getting your information from. Ohio State does deserve to be #1.

I don't get where you're coming from bitching about your conference. YOU'RE THE ONLY FUCKING CONFERENCE IN THE AREA. Most of the teams being in the east means that a team in the east has to WORK HARDER for recognition than out west. It's like trying to break into the good old boys club. Nearly impossible because they all watch each others backs and refuse to let anyone new in.

Also, in case you didn't notice, most schools schedules are front heavy. Know why? Because that means when they play their teams they'll still be highly ranked. When you schedule hard teams late in a year it actually hurts you because one big upset, ala Auburn, destroys their ranking so when you play them they won't be ranked as highly.

WHOEVER WINS, COLLEGE FOOTBALL LOSES. Until bowl season, at least.
>> Spr0t
>>21910
What are you, a dumbass? You just made my arguement for me.

Of course WEST COAST teams have to work harder for recognition, because NOBODY on the east coast gives a shit about them. Homers like Rutgers, WVU and Florida State are automatically given high rankings because they ARE in that good old boys club you talk about. Was FSU actually so good, and just had a bad season? No. They suck. They sucked last season too, and this shows that the people who vote don't know what the fuck they're doing.

Teams that were ranked before (i.e. any team in the Big East other than South Florida) will just be thrown in their, whether or not they're good. Like WVU. Like FSU. Like Boise State, who we all watched get PWNED by Georgia last year.

Meanwhile Big 12 and PAC-10 teams struggle away, and 7-1 Tulsa (C-USA) is denied a ranking AGAIN this week, even though they could obviously hang with Boise State, and most likely any Big East or ACC team.

You know how a team sucks? Watch them fucking play. USC is good, the entire Big East isn't. Rutgers didn't get better, their competition got shittier. Et cetera.

>>21957
LOL I watched USC play and they blow. It was only a matter of time until they lost and you can't say that isn't true. Have fun being a fanboy of USC while they continue to SUCK
>> Anonymous
Regardless of what happens neither team deserves the national championship game. I'm all for WVU, since I go to school there, but the team isn't quite that caliber yet. Next year I could accept it but I think right now we're in the middle ground between a good BCS bowl and the national championship.

The problem is that the teams who were/are serious contendors, Michigan and Texas, have to play Ohio State and having them play again in the championships will just be boring. It's always better to have a game where you don't already know what the outcome should be.
>> Anonymous
Everyone on this board is fuckin retarded. Michigan and Ohio State are the two best teams. Who ever beats wins that game will win by a landslide in the national championship.

God damn it. Every year I've rooted for WVU and every year they manage to FUCK EVERYTHING UP. Oh well. I knew going into this game that we didn't have a secondary at all so Louisville was going to throw the ball all over us. All we needed to do was NOT fumble every play of the game. Apparently that was too hard for us.

I concede, WVU is an overrated piece of shit.

rule for huge, epic games between undefeated teams or both teams otherwise in the top ten this late in the year.

it'll be dominated by offense or defense. it will be a HUGE over or a HUGE under.

you'll do good to learn that rule.
>> Anonymous
>>22042
I'll take that as a "no."

a) 1007 yards of total offense
b) average of over 7 yards per play

that's ridiculous
>> Spr0t
>>21981
Fucking signed.

The problem is every teams goes out of their way to schedule shitty non-conference teams (excepting the conferences that actually contain these shitty teams)... then when they actually have to play a hard team with national title ramifications, they unfortunately have to live with huge attendance and huge ratings. Boo Fucking Hoo.

Ohio State SHOULD play Michigan and Texas during the season, because why wait until a bowl game to find out who the best teams are?

WVU's second game of the season was against Eastern Washington. Michigan's second game was against Central Michigan. These teams, and others, could have saved us a LOT of time if they had just played a BCS school in week two (maybe even each other?), and then we the fans would have a much better idea of who is good.

WVU got exposed tonight, and now everyone sees what has always been the truth. I maintain Louisville also has a beatdown coming, but starting tomorrow, every news outlet will talk about how they really are the third best team in the country... and will continue to do so until UL loses in the regular season. Which they will.
>> Anonymous
>>22049
WVU was supposed to play Auburn instead of that Eastern Washington game but they bought out of the schedule :P

They've never done well under pressure though and imploded hella huge against Louisville.

I'm just glad USC isn't up high in the ratings anymore. It was just a matter of time till they lost.
