NFL 2008-2009 Coaching Carousel

Who gets fired and who gets hired/promoted?

So far I have Marvin Lewis, Herm Edwards, Norv Turner, Jim Haslett, Rob Marinelli, and Tom Gable all losing their jobs come season's end.

Mike Holmgren decides to "retire" than get fired.

As a Vikesfag, the fact that you don't have Childress on your list makes me sad. ;_;
>> Anonymous
Norv Turner.
>> Anonymous
Norv Turner gets fired, Lane Kiffin gets hired, Al Davis gets shit on four times a year instead of two due to pure revenge.

Mike Holmgren already said he is retiring before the season started.

Marvin Lewis won't get fired. The owner/GM of the Bengals, Mike Brown, fails at a lot, but is fiercely loyal (he fired Dick LeBeau only after he won twelve games in three years, and Dave Shula after 4 1/2 years was 19-53). Lewis might resign, but he won't get fired.

Kubiak won't be fired. He'll get 1-2 more years to get the Texans to the playoffs before he is fired.

Can only hope. This year has been MISERABLE.

>>476504

I'm all with you. With Chilly at the helm, I can't even enjoy the games we win. It's horrifying how how mediocre our team is with him.
>> Anonymous
Norv Turner won't get fired, PERIOD. the offense is doing pretty decent, even with some injuries. the chargers defensive coordinator is going to change AGAIN after the season though, no doubt. wouldnt be surprised to see mike nolan or jim haslett get the job.

Marvin lewis for sure though, haslett and gable are virtual locks to be back in coordinator positions or off the team all together come january. Edwards probably wont get fired, because the chiefs whole makeover thing really screwed his chances of making a playoff push this year.

marinelli is probably gone, but this is the lions we're talking about. kubiak's job is certainly in jeapordy.
dick jauron's could be also, with the way that team just seems to be finding ways to lose.

crennell will probably get one more shot if the team at least hits .500

singletary will probably earn the spot in san fran.

im curious about seeing what happens to andy reid.

wade phillips needs to make the playoffs this year, or hes probably gone.

childress needs to make the playoffs or HES probably gone.

jack del rio might have to start worrying too.

and we knew this was holmgrens last year.

Mediocre coach = mediocre team.

Simple.

Andy Reid needs to get fired too. He won't, McNabb will be traded instead, but he needs to get fired. He sucks.

Who calls almost 60 pass plays and ONLY 18 runs against the 25th ranked run D? WTF? And don't gimme that offensive Coordinator bullshit, Reid's got to be calling the plays.

His prior job was with Philadelphia also so that factors in also.

Marvin Lewis won't be fired, for the ten millionth time. You don't know how the Bengals operate.

As a Vikes fan, I originally gave Childress the benefit of the doubt. But after three years under a self-proclaimed 'QB expert', and we're fielding Gus Frerotte with Tarvaris Jackson as a backup?

Get the fuck out of here.
>> Alakazam !!OEP6m59Bksc
Holmgren retires.
Mora Jr. leaves for the Washington job.

Seahawks get fucked.
>> Anonymous
>>476781
Not to nitpick, but Holmgren isn't retiring, he's just taking a (cc) Sabbatical.
>> Anonymous
>>476781

You're fucked anyways. Mora Jr. isn't exactly a top tier coach
>> Anonymous
>>476781
I fucking hope that happens. Mora Jr. is a cool guy but he sucks as a coach.

You know who I think we should hire? Dennis Erickson. Yeah, I went there.
>> Titans are Gods !!3zWSzvEY+er
Jeff Fisher gets promoted to God.

If the Bears remain shitty this year, I can see Lovie getting fired.

Pete Carroll leaves to take the Chargers job.

USC hires Jeff Fisher away from the Titans.
>> blackstar !x8ngkAZjXE
Sean payton should get fired. Horrible coaching this year. falls in love with players and refuse to change no matter what the production is.

Also, if Steve Spagnuolo leaves to take a HC job somewhere, I will rage so hard...

Haslett gets to keep the job unless the Rams can pull a big name (say for example, Bill Cowher) out of the hat to come coach in St. Louis

oh how the tune of saintsfags has changed since the beginning of the 2007 season.

Marvin Lewis has the safest job in the NFL. Mike Brown will ONLY fire a coach if he talks shit about him, never for a shitty record.

Remember, in the entire 17 years that Mike Brown has owned the Bengals (with no GM, no less), they've had 1 winning season.

Yes, Cincinnati fag here, who wants to come murder him with me?

If the Vikings can't pull ahead and win the mediocre NFC North, Childress will be gone. They will probably need a 10-6 season to do it.

Childress made the mistake of putting too much faith in Tarvaris Jackson to get the job done. He misjudged him horribly and obviously that has cost him (and the Vikings) dearly. In this sense, it's almost too bad that Jackson started to do well toward the end of last season, because if not for that, we wouldn't have kept him on as a starter for the first two games.

Childress sunk big money into giving the Vikings a great running game, an outstanding defensive line, and some decent receivers to boot. He skimped on the QB, and that's a pretty big skimp.

I sure fucking hope so

Marvin Lewis isn't going anywhere as long as he has years on his contract that Mike Brown will have to pay.

Romeo Crennel, however, is probably going to get broken off at the end of the year. Nice guy, but in over his head.

>>478184
Philly fans are fucking stupid. That fat bastard is one of the top 5 coaches in the NFL. You team has been as close to dominate as the NFC has seen for the past decade or so, and you dumb pricks want him fired?

5-4-1 is dominating the division? A division like the NFC East, arguably the toughest, and BEST division in the game?

Lol, see you in the superbowl

No way is Herm Edwards getting fired this year. This is just his second year, and he was hit by a bad case of the injury bug this year. That, and the players suck major donkey ball this year. Not his fault.

And Thigpen is showing some promise, too. Almost took out BRETT FARVE and the Jest all by himself.

Texansfag here. I would love to have Marvin Lewis or Romeo Crennel as our defensive coordinator. We HAVE TO fire Dick Smith!

Both of these posts = god and truthiness.

The Eagles haven't done shit since 2004, and when the coach continually fucks up and the quarterback continually fucks up games they should win (see Bears this year and last year, Bungles, etc) and they can't stop fucking up because they can't see the forest for the trees, then its time for a goddamn change.

The eagles have enough talent to make it to the playoffs. They absolutely won't though.
