Ichiro's having his worst year since he came to the majors. Is he slowing down? http://www.baseball-reference.com/s/suzukic01.shtmlThe guy is only OPS+ing at 107 this year which is pretty much horrible for a guy of his talent.
Dude, the guy played for like 7 years in Japan. If he would have come immediately to America, we would be talking about one of the greatest players ever. He's still a hall of famer in my book.
dunno but i chose him over grady sizemore in fantasy. fffffffffff
what do you expect a singles hitter that doesn't walk to do
>>241850And this is his 8th year in America. Ichiro's old now. There's talk that he'll play until he's 40, and get 3000 hits but he might break down by then.
>>241857Ichiro has 43 walks, and 46 strike outs. Dude walks at a fairly high rate for a lead off hitter.
I like Ichiro. It's sad to see him decline. But the fact is, he's playing for the worst team in Baseball this year. Maybe he's just slacking off?
Actually, this is Ichiro's best year in walks since 2002.
hi guyz, i yust got my 46 save.
i haven't been watching him play, but his numbers look just as "poor" in 05 and 06.
It really doesn't matter, hes a lock for the Hall of Fame. 3 of the top 20 most hits in a season spots are Ichiro's.
>>241971Yeah, but if he wants to lead his team to the playoffs, he needs to play better.
And the Mariner's FO shows how smart they really are by signing him to a huge extension.
>>242005He already is playing good, still the best lead off man in the league. Upping his average another 30 points is not going to make the 2-9 hit any better.
>>242024Ichiro's a luxury for a team with no power hitters outside of Adrian Beltre. If Ichiro was say, on the Yankees, or Phillies, he'd score 175 runs over a season.
