> So why don't we just go all out then? Why start pushing the rivalries between the teams more. Mix it up by having age old rivals become friends all of a sudden for no logical reason. Start airing promos of the coaches and players talking shit about the other team before the game. Hell, we could start a Diva's leage too, that would be great.
We could do all those things, Billy Martin used to talk a lot of shit. The Steinbrenners still do. Most managers are pretty old and boring though, it wouldn't be very entertaining.
>Why not get rid of the DH altogether and make it the Designated Celebrity? The pitcher's place in the lineup would be taken by a random celebrity whose identity would be known only by league management until he came up to bat.
Most celebrities probably couldn't hit as well as the pitchers, a lot of baseball players are huge celebrities anyway. And Billy Crystal and Garth Brooks got one day contracts
> Let's get rid of the playoff system too. A team has to earn a right for a title shot against the World Champion Red Sox. But it's not as easy as just winning a tournament. In order to be crowned the #1 contender, a team must beat two other teams in a handicap match to earn the right to play the champs.
Playoffs would get better ratings and be more exciting
