18-1, enjoy losing to the rays.

The only 1 I really miss is Engel Beltre.

And Weeaboo, as you know the Red Sox #1 need is a catcher you cannot say otherwise. The Boston Globe and Herald have already reported Saltalamacchia to be the Red Sox #1 offseason target. If we have to get rid of Buchholtz or Bowden so be it. I think every Red Sox fan agrees Vartitek can't cut it anymore.

Still has enough starts/appearance for a rookie season. 100 IP is 2x more than 50, the requirement for ROY.

I know we need a catcher, and I wouldn't mind getting Saltalamacchia, but I don't see a need to go gunning after him above all else when Kottaras hasn't been given a shot yet.

Well Weeaboo, he can't hit most of the time and has a terrible average, as well as lacking in defense. If the Red Sox do trade Buchholz or Bowden they will must likely go into the market to get a FA pitcher like a Burnett/Sheets or they could place Masterson in the rotation.

His scouting report on Sox Prospects seems to disagree with some of your statements, but I admit that I am not the greatest at determining prospect worth or ability. I need to get to Pawtucket games more often, as well as do better interwebs research.

Have you seen him play/done interwebs research on him?

If he couldnt hit in texas what makes the red sox think he'll hit for them. He had a terrible year away and in Arlington, I just dont see why you would go through any trouble to get him.

"Behind the plate, Kottaras' glove skills have been called into question in the past, including his ability to throw out runners, his game calling ability, and his basic fundamentals. However, he's a very hard worker and takes to developmental coaching well, and as such his skills have improved during his time in the Sox system. "

Kottaras sounds like a backup to me, considering he's already 26 years old.

They just made the World Series a couple seasons ago and their roster is better now than it was then. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see them win the AL Central next year. The World Series is a strong possibility.

Their pitching is shot to hell, and they made retarded trade after retarded trade. Jurrgins, and Andrew Miller would so help their team more than Dontrell Willis and Miguel Cabera. And the Tigers already aborted Edgar Renteina.
>> Negrodamus the 9000th !3GqYIJ3Obs
The Red Sox would be fools to trade for Salty. Albeit the guy is talented, but he hasn't made any significant strides towards his potential since we traded for him from Atlanta. Although I'd be completely on board with the trade and the two pitchers of course.. Mos def

Saltamacchia has put up a 91 OPS+ in both of his seasons in the majors.

That's not terrible for a catcher, but it's not good enough to throw top-tier pitching prospects at unless he plays defense that makes I-Rod in his prime look like Mike Piazza at the end of his career.
