Hey /sp/.I was just approached by some people to play striker for their outdoor/indoor team.Normally I play midfielder, USUALLY defensively. What should I practice? And how? Any tips for practicing on my own?
put ball into net.
>>40513ah, the good ol' Inzaghi-style striker. The guy couldn't even do rondo training, his technique was so shit he just lost all the time, even to the defenders.Still scored loads, even though his Serie A-streak has run out as of late. Old fart.
What are we talking about Lacrosse?
>>40516You asshole. I refrained from putting soccer or football to not start the argument.
>>40522I love Football.
>>40516>>40523oh jesus christ people, this joke is getting fucking old. IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE SPORT THEN JUST SCROLL RIGHT ON DOWN PAST THE FUCKING THREAD.
Just make sure you're not offside and stay as open as you can. Work on your accuracy and remember, it's not your job to cross the ball, keep in front of the goal posts, it's your job to score.
>>40525Americans killed old /sp/
>>40526Makes sense.I'm not sure if I'll have a strike partner, I hope I do as my heading is pretty bad.I'm worried I'll drop back too deep, how much is too much? Should I just hold their defense back and expect a long ball? Work myself into the passing game?I suppose it depends on my team.
>>40528remember when /sp/ was good?
>>40512for a good striker everything should come naturally, you might want to mention to the coach that the team should play a Roma-style tactic in which there are no actual strikers, however midfielders take it in turn to be in a more advanced position. Will suprise the hell out of your opposition with a 7 man midfield.
>>40529never come back past the half way line or else there will be no one to chase down hopeful long balls. dont forget their defense has to be almost as far back as you, not you as far back as them. stretch the field of play and if your heading sucks always stand on the shoulder of the last man hoping to out-pace him to any through ball.also in front of goal stay cool, composed and pick a corner. dont panic.
>>40530/sp/ was never good
Fools, being offside is the key to becoming a great striker. Just ask Inzaghi.
>>40543>dont forget their defense has to be almost as far back as you, not you as far back as them. The offside rule disagrees.
Lol Inzaghi, has no technique, can't run, can't jump, can't do anything, but he still scores in pretty much every game he plays. The more retarded the way, the better.
If you're shooting from an angle always hit it across the goal keeper.
And don't try to be too clever.
use your elbow..
And remember, a hand is fine too.
and epic tackles
indoor and outdoor require completely different styles of play, so which are you asking about?you'll need to be proficient at receiving the ball with all parts of your body and turning quickly. work on striking with your weak foot. shielding will be important, especially if you're a lone striker.what the fuck else do you want to know? any positioning questions will depend on your teams style of play.
>>40600Seconded.
>>40713Outdoor.>>40542That sounds like a great idea, but it's my first year on, so I don't want to make waves.Any more tips? A good friend of mine said diagonal runs to confuse the defense. Won't work so great if they're not playing a flat back four though. So basically, so far:- Be fast.- Work on control/first touch- Be cool in front of net.- Pick a corner.- Shoot across keeper.- Learn to shield.
