the strongest, most athletic rugby player would be mortally wounded by a brian urlacher hit. football has huge hits, not like pussy rugby shoving. fuck off

Amerifags, explain how that play was legal if the team had only 4 seconds according to the youtube video.

Football isn't like Futbol. Play is not constant. the ball is dead after the player carrying it is tackled. Plays cannot be halted while they are going.

Rugby hits still hurt more. Padding helps disperse the force from a hit in the NFL through out your entire rib cage which can absorb it all to a certain degree. In Rugby though all the force from a tackle is concentrated on one small area of your body. So really, wouldn't be calling them pussies.

If you ever watch a football game, you'll see that every game, once or twice per game, a player will be down on the field after a hit. they'll stay down for a second, then come off the field for a play, maybe 2. then they'll come back in. Are they pussies? No. THEY GOT KNOCKED THE FUCK OUT. also:

and the pads make sure you don't fucking DIE. Pads also allow tacklers to hit much harder

Uh... way to miss the entire point. No one's saying NFL tackles are weak. They just don't hurt as much as Rugby hits do.

>A tackle with half a ton of force sounds like a crippling blow. But, according to John Melvin, an injury biomechanics researcher for General Motors and NASCAR, the body can handle twice that amount — as long as the impact is well-distributed. That job usually is handled by the player's equipment, which spreads out the incoming energy, lessening its severity.

THAT'S what pads do, not just let you live. You don't have that in Rugby so all the energy gets put on a single rib or whatever.

NFL: Much harder hits
Rugby: Much more painful

Don't the fat guys from the defense get bored? I mean they hardly ever get to touch the ball and they just stay there protecting the qb. Only the qb and the runners get to really play.

I admit american football is fun to practice with a group of friends because you can be defense and receiver/attacker and everyone can be quarterback at any time.

First off if your protecting the QB and the RB's your not on D your on O.
No it isnt boring, i was a linemen all my life and loved it. im 6 feet tall and 225 lbs, line was fun as all hell. nothing like a pull play where some dumbass D-end thinks he has a free shot at the QB only to get me at a full sprint laying him on his ass, then running down field knocking the shit outta everyone that got near the RB.

its not about touching the ball for the linemen, its the satisfaction of keeping the guys with the ball safe. It truly a great sense of accomplishment knowing that you alone held off a Dlinemen and a line backer from sacking the QB

and please dont call linemen fat, just because they are 350 lbs doesnt mean they are fat, those guys are strong as all hell
