Handicapping the Manny Sweepstakes.

Dodgers: 25%. The Dodgers and Manny had a great honeymoon, but the Dodgers realize that Manny great two months basically almost priced him out of the Dodgers plans. They could do it, but if they do it effectively takes them out of the C.C. sweepstakes and resigning Furcal, unless they find another 40 million to play around with.

Yankees: 20%. Yankees don't need outfielders, but they do need offense, as they have to replace Giambi, and Aberu, and signing Manny to a 4 year deal might be preferable to signing Texiera to a 10 year/200 million dollar deal considering the Yankees youth movement and the Yankees new found emphasis on the farm system.

20% Mets. Same deal with the Mets, they're looking for outfielders, and don't mind if they're fucking ancient, by keeping on playing Moses Alou, even if he pees on his hands. While Manny likely doesn't pee on his hands, he'll hit a lot of homers for the Mets. Also doesn't figure to be in the Texiera or the C.C. sweepstakes, so if they're looking for cash to burn. Manny it is.

Probably not. Joe Girardi doesn't run the clubhouse as tight as Torre did, and Manny didn't have to chop the dreads in Torre's clubhouse.

There is a zero percent chance of the Yankees even offering Manny a contract. It absoulutely makes no sense considering what they're trying to do. The Yankees have a shit ton coming off the books this season and they want to lower their payroll and get younger. Manny can't play defense and he'll be 37 in 2009. The Yankees are still stuck with Hideki Matsui and he can't be traded, because nobody will take him. They're going to get Teixiera OR Sabathia not both.

Absolutely. It's Yankees policy straight from the Steinbrenners. Remember when Johnny Damon went to the Yankees? Same thing.
