NHL's precious Crosby Movie will have a sad ending for him :'(

It makes me notice that the majority of Crosby's goals result from lucky bounces or empty nets.

I realize that he is the leading scorer in the playoffs while playing 2 less games than the opposition.

How's that taste?
>> Anonymous
Makes me feel 2-1. Sorry bro, you're still digging yourself out of a hole, and it's hardly like the Wings lost as badly as the Pens did in games 1 and 2. Expect a rebound in game 4.

Enjoy your consolation prize. Penguins can't get jack shit done at the Joe, which dosen't bode well for a team that dosen't have home-ice advantage.

A series hasn't truly started unless a team has lost at home or it is game 7.

Everyone has done what was expected.

The Pens have been improving in a constant upward trajectory since game one. They finally got the bounces that Detroit was getting at the joe.
>> Anonymous
>>124389
That 'constant upward trajectory' gave them a one-goal game. Detroit dosen't exactly need to step up all that much to split games 3-4. You can beat off all you want about how long it's been since the Penguins have lost at the Igloo, but how long as it been since Fleury let in more than 3 goals in a game? Since the Penguins were shut out twice in a row? Since Malkin has been restricted to a single shot on goal in the span of said two games? You keep prattling on about all this never-say-die, nothing-is-decided rhetoric but it's just as true for the Wings as it is for the Penguins.
>> Anonymous
>>124389
>Everyone has done what was expected.

You expected complete and utter blowouts for games 1 and 2?
>> CapitalistBastard !!f/pELCnjRD0
>>124391

It was a one goal game simply because of about 5 clankers off the post.

The Pens definitely had the upper hand in chances.
>> CapitalistBastard !!f/pELCnjRD0
>>124391

The Pens haven't lost a non-shootout game since November 2007 in the Igloo.

That is pretty fucking amazing.
>> Anonymous
>>124394
The Penguins had plenty of those in the first two games, does that mean that they got shut out 'simply' because of one or two missed shots? Of course not, five of the first six periods were absolute child's play for the Wings. You bring up chance opportunities as though they're exclusively happening/adventageous to the Penguins. Fuck, I could just as easily say that the Wings lost the game to begin with 'simply' because of Holmstrom's missed shot in the third.
>> Anonymous
>>124395
And yet again, you pussyfoot around the issue at hand. Bravy.
>> CapitalistBastard !!f/pELCnjRD0
>>124399

Pussyfoot around what?

They played like shit in game 1.

Game 2 was closer but they were a step slower than Detroit.

The bounces went their way.
>> Anonymous
>>124395
Turco had never won a game at the Joe in his career. Did that suddenly make game 5 of his series against the Wings impossible? Of course not. You went on the other day about history meaning jack shit, now all of the sudden you're going to pull out all the dates and numbers?
>> CapitalistBastard !!f/pELCnjRD0
>>124401
You are right. It has no bearing on what will happen in the next game.

It's impressive nonetheless. This is the same team we are talking about.

The main issue will be just how tentative Holmstrom is after being beaten the fuck up by the Pittsburgh D.
>> Anonymous
>>124400
bounces?

christ, you are a weasely little pussy, aren't you?
>> Anonymous
>>124400
You're not even talking about the same subject anymore.

-You ramble on about how supposedly invincible the Penguins are at home
-I bring up a number of occurances within this series that have broken long streaks set by the Penguins
-You regard absolutely none of these, continuing to ramble on about how supposedly invincible the Penguins are at home

The Wings have every means at their disposal to get a win at the Igloo, it's largely a matter of getting that third defensive pairing a good slapping around to wake them up - Lilja's fuck-ups let directly to at least one and I believe two of Pittsburgh's goals. It happens in hockey but I see no reason why they're incapable of getting back on their game by Saturday, particularly when you have a number of Selke condenters/winners on your offensive lines to give them a boost in their own end. To give the Wings no credit or consideration whatsoever going into game 4 is playing with fire.
>> Anonymous
>>124404
Right, right. Holmstrom, arguably the best player in the NHL right now at crowding the crease, has been doing his thing for over a decade now, facing up against every fustrated goalie, irate d-man, and anal-retentive referee in the book only to park himself into his old spot time and time and time again at every avaliable opportunity. Now, all of the sudden, after all these years, Hal Gill is going to spontaneously have an 'answer' to Holmstrom. Give me a break, the man is a rock.
>> Anonymous
>>124404
>You are right. It has no bearing on what will happen in the next game.

Ergo, saying LOL LOOK HOW LONG ITS BEEN SINCE THE PENGUINS HAVE LOST AT HOME is an asinine argument to make and must be rejected.
>> Anonymous
>>124404
Judging by the ref's calls, Pittsburgh's D cross-checking Holmstrom probably won't work in their favor, particularly when it's being done by superstar blueliner Hal Gill.

Shame, more people are dying in Pittsburgh than are being born.

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/18/us/18pittsburgh.html?_r=2&scp=1&sq=pittsburgh+population&a
mp;st=nyt&oref=slogin&oref=slogin

In Pittsburgh, public school enrollment plummeted from about 70,000 two decades ago to about 30,000 and continues shrinking by about 1,000 a year.

Since 1980, the city’s population has plunged from 423,000 to about 312,000. Since 2000 alone, the metropolitan area has lost 60,000 people
>> Anonymous
>>124487

Want some more?

"Pittsburgh is in a death spiral. It's bankrupt. Its school district spends $16,000 a year per kid. Its parking tax is the highest on Earth: 50 percent. City police and firefighters irresponsibly pad their numbers, salaries, and pensions—and openly trade their mayoral votes for sweetheart contracts.

Meanwhile, local school and property taxes are among the highest in the country. So are public bus and taxi fares. And, oh yeah, highways are congested, in bad shape, and under-built. Yes, Pittsburgh is highly livable. But it’s also dying. The region has the doomed demographics of Western Europe. It has fewer foreign-born immigrants and a higher percentage of white people than any major American city. In 1960, when the country had 175 million people, there were 2.4 million people in the metro Pittsburgh region, 1.6 million in Allegheny County and 604,000 in the city of Pittsburgh.

Today, with 300 million Americans, the comparable numbers are 2.3 million metro, 1.2 million county and – incredibly -- just 315,000 souls left in a city built to handle 1 million... So unless 50,000 immigrants invade Pittsburgh real soon, it looks like 'America's Most Livable City' will soon become 'America's Most Leave-able City.'"
