Whats the most disappointing city to be a sports fan of?

Pic HIGHLY related
>> HKK !h7MHU9L/Oo
Seattle. Not even a question. Mariners had some of the greatest baseball talent ever during the 90's and never even made a World Series. Seahawks blew it in the Super Bowl and the Sonics just moved away.

Well San Diego has never won a championship. At least the Super-Sonics won one. San Diego's best sports team is the Gulls (West Coast Hockey League) who won 3 titles between the 95-96 season and the 97-98 season and 3 more between the 2000-2001 season through the 2003-2004 season.

This. People think the NFL didn't exist before the Super Bowl. The Browns won the NFL championship as recently as 1964 and were in the 1968 and 1969 championship games. It's just that since the 1970 merger the Browns haven't been able to get back to the championship game.

Minneapolis.

Vikings are chokers (four super bowls lost, blew a large lead in the 1998 NFC championship).

Twins had those two sweet WS wins in 1987 and 1991, but since then we've never been able to get things going. We did make it to the ALDS in '02, '03, '04, and '06, but we were eliminated quickly each time.

Timberwolves are one of the worst teams in the NBA since we lost Kevin Garnett.

I don't know how good or bad the Wild are.
>> Anonymous
Hands down Philly. 4 major sports teams, unlike Seattle, Cleveland, etc. last championship, 1983. 100 sports seasons and counting.

Chargers at least make the playoffs.
Is it disappointing to see your team make the playoffs and then lose? Yes. But I think it's more disappointing to see your team fail badly every year.
>> Anonymous
>>390353
This is only the last few years, try living through Ryan Leaf.
>> Anonymous
>>390353

I actually disagree. I think it is far more painful to see a team continually make the playoffs and fail. At least if they're consistently bad, you don't get that false hope going on.
>> Anonymous
Exactly, would you rather be the Mets this year (or last) or be The Padres and KNOW your out of it in early July?

Whatever the guy's team is they will turn it around and make the playoffs eventually.

SAN DIEGO:

Padres won a Cy Young. That's it.

Chargers have an MVP on their team, got close (but let's face it, not THAT close) to a championship before getting faceraped by the Steve Young/Brent Jones/Merton Hanks/Ricky Watters/Jerry Rice/Ken Norton Jr./Deion Sanders 49ers All-Star team.

SEATTLE:

Seattle had A-Rod, Randy Johnson, Jay Buhner and still managed to fuck up season after season. Of course, after all that talent bailed, they put up 9001 wins in a single season, then promptly 18-1'd all over themselves.

Seahawks speak for themselves.

You be the judge

Angels and Chargers fan. Nothing like a quick playoff exit after 14-2 or losing to Boston every time. UCLA too, but most would kill for a Final Four 3 consecutive years so I guess i should be happy with that. But I did get way too excited after the football team beat Tenn this year~

I also remember the 1995 Angels and my birthday is October 12, 1986. I was even born in UCI Med Center which is about as close as you can get to the big A. My dad always jokes (i hope) and tells me it might have been the most disappointing day of his life.

Royals trade away any talent that turns out to be good. "David Cone? Cya! Carlos Beltran? There ya go!"

Chiefs can't put a full team together to save their lives. Awesome defense, no offense whatsoever. Terrible defense, but one of the most potent offenses ever assembled in the NFL. Now, the damn team couldn't beat Temple.
>> DevilsMan666 !aPT39YlDHE
Philadelphia has gone the longest without a championship out of all of the cities with teams in all 4 major sports leagues (MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL). The last win was the Sixers winning back in 1983. And it's AWESOME watching them get close and fail so horribly.

I would like it very much if the Phillies won the WS. I'm a Yankeefag. I don't want Joe Torre winning one with the Dodgers, fuck the Rays for going from one of the worst teams in baseball all the way to the ALCS and above all fuck the Red Sox. But if it came down to it, a perfect shitstorm LA vs. RSN I'm rooting for Torre. Because, although I think almost anyone could have managed the Yankees of 1996-2000 to at least a few WS championships and I generally don't believe baseball managers have that great of an impact on a teams performance...Torre was there, so he gets credit.

The Heat have been around for like 20 years and have a Championship and many playoff appearances.

Marlins have been around for 15 years and have to World Series rings. lol look at all the franchises that are 100 years old and dont have that many, or just a little more. Think about it 17 years, over 100 years.

The Dolphins are one of the best football franchises, historically.

Records, Super Bowls, Hall of Famers, and they have only been around since the 60s.

Thanks for playing, but you fail at knowing about sports teams, apparently.
