College football Anonymous
Hello /sp/fags:

OK, I was raised on pro football. I will always love it more than anything else, but recently I've become interested in the college game too.

My question is, how the FUCK do you follow college football without getting completely overwhelmed? There's like fifty thousand schools, and every four years the rosters are completely different.

it helps to have a favorite (non-bandwagon) team, so you can focus on them and their conference.

1) go to college
2) support the college you attend

Arkansas ;___; oh god the PAIN THE BURNING PAIN

Not OP, but I was wondering something as well. Why do a lot of college football stadiums have a higher capacity than NFL stadiums. I looked on Wikipedia, and there are 10 college stadiums that can fit more people than the first NFL stadium (FedEx Field), and a few that can hold over 100,000 people.

I would think that there would be more of a market for a NFL franchise, so why aren't there more seats?

120 different teams can be hard to follow, but it's best to start at just keeping up with the major conferences (SEC, Big 12, Big 10, ACC, etc.)

If anything, college basketball is much harder to follow. 330+ schools in 30+ conferences. They call it March Madness for a reason.

have you ever been to a college game for a big team? People were stacked on top of each other BEFORE Americans became colossal fatasses

Theres more of a market for college teams in many parts of the country, also college teams aren't run for profit really, so a NFL team would build a stadium that would make them the most money while a college would build a stadium with the highest capacity they can afford

I'm going to guess this anon didn't go to "collage"

I'm like OP- I went to an NAIA school (the best team we ever played was Yale.) I am starting to like watching it, just hoping for upsets.

Let me guess, you like either an SEC or Big 12 team.

I go to Nevada. At least you get on TV.

Though I stand corrected. We were on TV when we gave up 60 points to Mizzou. Hurr.

Become a fan of the team in your state that doesn't win as often as the other one if you're new to college football. I became a fan of Georgia Tech when I was around nine or ten and my brother started to attend the school. We haven't had a couple of good years lately, though this year has been a significant improvement. I'm hoping for a win against Georgia this year as well.
