A's are going to get Furcal. Anonymous
>>Rafael Furcal told El Caribe that the A's have offered him a four-year contract worth $48 million that could reach $50 million including incentives. It's an interesting offer, as it gives Furcal the length he is desiring in a contract, but the guaranteed money is less in average annual value than the three-year, $39 million contract he played for with the Dodgers. Furcal also said that the New York Mets have offered him a contract. Reportedly, he is returning from the Dominican to weigh the offers with his agent.

Dodgers have two ready made SS prospects in Chin Lung Hu, and Ivan DeJesus Jr. Of course, Ned Coletti is the GM, and he'll try to block them with overpriced veterans, but the Dodgers can survive without Furcal.

Can they survive without Manny?

In 2009? Sure, the NL west will still be pretty crappy. In 2010, a kid named Andrew Lambo will be ready, and he can hit the fucking ball. And he'll only be 20 next year. Can they survive without Manny? Sure, but should they? ...I love me some Manny, so I'll say they should sign him and worry about Lambo later.
