If Chicago fans can ignore Jordan The Wizard, then you butthurt eskimos can get the fuck over this.

It's not like your ownership constantly fails, like 80% of the other NFL teams.

What about him actually wearing the jersey?
>> Anonymous
>>236180

That's because we ARE the ownership.

By the way, I'm a Bulls fan and a Packers and Favre fan and the Wizards thing made me feel like shit, but this is worse somehow. Partially because I know he's going to play like shit with no o-line to protect him and no one to throw to and in general a team that just isn't good enough as a whole to make the gunslinger thing work. He'll be forced into risky plays again and again and throw a shit ton of interceptions. We saw how this sort of set up failed in Green Bay for a few years and he still had people to throw to.

At least the draft pick the Packers get from the Jets will probably be sixth or seventh. They're going to need a new quarterback.

>That's because we ARE the ownership.
I know that. That's why I said what I said.

>Rest of Post
You're dealing with the football equivalent of Babe Ruth (except fewer whores). He can get high on pain pills and still throw for 400 yards. Like Emmitt Smith and Kurt Warner before him, would you rather his shittiest years come for your team, or someone else's?

You already got used to the idea of Favre being gone, six months ago. Hold onto that feeling.
>> Anonymous
Will he play in the pre-season game tomorrow?

I HAVE TICKETS OH FUCK I HOPE SO. AT FIRST I DIDN'T WANT TO GO BUT THIS IS EPIC.
>> Anonymous
"The NFL Network also is reporting that the Packers took great pains to ensure that Favre would not be traded to the Vikings by inserting a "poison pill" in the deal. If Favre were to be traded to Minnesota, New York would have to surrender three first-round picks to Green Bay."

They need to trade him to someone else and in return have them trade them to Minnesota.
>> Anonymous
New Yorkers are nothing like Green Bay residents. New Yorkers are going to fucking chew Brett up and get him to run away crying to retirement.
>> Anonymous
What a cunt-fest in here, favre sucks, manning sucks, tom gaydy sucks.

The quarterback position isn't what football is about. It's the guys that get down and dirty.
>> Anonymous
>>236209
>tom gaydy

That was really funny. How did you think of that? It's like, you took the first two letters of "Brady," and replaced it with a "G," right? So it sounds like "gay" instead of "bray!"

That shit is TOO fucking funny, dawg. How do you come up with your material?

I'm a diehard Packers fan and Favre fan, but I put my love of the team far above Brett. Yes, I'm pissed off that Brett has been acting like a whiny crybaby, but when I think of him I'm always gonna remember his time with the Pack. The guy is gonna bomb out this year with the Jets, with a final retirement at the end of the season. You all just watch.

>> Anonymous
>>236434
you have NO point because you have NO facts or stats to back up your claim that Favre is bad. You are an idiot trying to bring nothing but personal opinion into a sports conversation.

Your Jerry Rice argument was invalid because of their age difference and performance levels. Rice started falling off at the end of his career and retired in his mid 40's. Brett is still in his 30's and just came off of one of his best seasons to date.

Your interception argument was overshadowed by the many other records held by Favre. You fail at life.

Can someone shop him into a Tampa Bay uniform?
I have some huge Bucs fans where I work who are tragically depressed that Farve didn't save them.
I'd like to crush their spirits with a "Look what *almost* was."
>> Anonymous
>>236613
you can also get a customized jersey on nfl.com with tampa bay and favre. Then again i don't think you want to waste any money.

You'd be correct.
But, thanks for the idea.
>> Anonymous

Instead you get a quarterback that isn't going to blow games for you in Jeff Garcia.

It doesn't matter how good a defense is if your QB (*coughFarvecough*) lets the opponents start on the ten every other drive via interception.
>> Anonymous
>>236621
Don't waste your effort, there are fifteen hundred children on this board who think Favre is still an asset, who can't figure out that two interceptions a game is no way to win anything.

>> Anonymous
>>236650
>>236651
yea that attitude makes him fun to watch as a fan, but how fun was it for packers fans when he underthrew that out last year? it's a double edged fork.
>> Anonymous
>>236652
I have bashed Brett Favre more than anybody, but when Holmgren coached him and he controlled his interceptions, he was a great, great quarterback. One of the best and fun to watch.

Now...people just can't figure out that one interception is like two or three touchdown passes. They KILL the entire team, period. And Favre was just giving the ball away for the last three or four seasons.
>> Anonymous
>>236634
His pros are greater than his cons.... but as a pack and favre fan those interceptions fucking kill me. Remeber 4th and 26 and the interception favre threw in OT against the eagles thereafter, couldn't sleep right for 4 weeks.

Still, the greatest thing about favre was that in a league where everybody is hurt, he was always fucking there. for 16 fucking years he was always there. good or bad rain or shine always there. that's probably what i'm going to remember the most.

Non-packer fans (excluding colt/pats fans) won't understand the feeling about never having to worry about your QB situation, you always feel like you could win.

in b4 attempt at wit by favre trolls
>> Anonymous
>people just can't figure out that one interception is like two or three touchdown passes

this is false. Red zone intereceptions are another story but there are so many turnovers a game that it usually balances itself out.

anyway, it depends on the situation.

an interception in the 1st quarter doesn't mean shit in OT i'm attempting to an hero
