Best boxing matches Anonymous
For the past few weekends I've been watching boxing on HBO and Showtime. I don't know much about boxing history, but I'd love to watch some good classic boxing matches since I hear modern boxing isn't very good.

What classic boxing matches should I watch?

op got me watching boxing on youtube. I watched the rope-a-dope, and then started watching ali's daughter, which was kind of crazy. then i started reading about her and it says she's ducking fights from anne wolfe, who i then saw here:

holy shit. women's boxing is for the most part a joke but i'd love to see a ali-wolfe card.

Wait till December 6.

Then watch Pacquiao beat the living shit out of De la Hoya.

Pacquiao is going to get beaten by De La Hoya. Fighting so far above his natural weight is going to put him at a big disadvantage.

The Pacquiao Morales trilogy is great, and anybody who hasn't seen it needs to go download it. It's a shame lighter weight classes often get overshadowed by the less entertaining heavyweights.

The Evander Holyfield/Riddick Bowe heavyweight title fight in '93 is fun to watch, if you can find it. I can't really speak to the quality of the boxing, but it's the one where the "fan man" flew into the ring and disrupted the fight. Meanwhile, Bowe's wife is going into labor. It's a really weird match.

Tyson/Buster Douglas, solely for the lulz of the commentary trumpeting how Tyson was the next Ali and OMG BUSTER KNOCKED HIM DOWN

Also, Frazier/Foreman.

Micky Ward?

Pretty much any fight with Roberto Duran is going to be a good fight.

I agree, Douglas vs. Tyson. NO ONE had made Tyson look like such a punk up until that fight. I watched it live and the whole time my buddies and I were freaking out.

There are actually some really good fights every once in a while on Wednesday / Friday night fights. But only on the undercards. The main fights are always shitty

It's not like tyson was past his best and had spent the previous months doing nothing but japanese hookers.

The stars were completely aligned that night. Buster Douglas for ONCE actually fought to his potential after a career of being a lazy, heartless fuck and Tyson didnt train, didnt care and finally imploded.

Are Wednesday Night Fights and Friday Night Fights on break for awhile right now? I don't think I've run across them while channel surfing for awhile.

The best fight I've ever watched was Sugar Ray Leonard vs. Marvin Hagler on April 6, 1987. That shit was insane. It was like watching a movie.

I liked Lewis vs. Tyson because of all the hype. Lewis proved that Britain is a boxing superpower.

Hagler-Hearns a.k.a THE WAR

Tyson was 13 years past his prime and had done 3 years in prison, lost a bunch of fights and was 25 pounds overrweight and a complete shell of a once great fighter. His entire style was based on his youthful reflexes and speed. he was always going to have a short shelf life

Lewis was 2years past his best with a style built for longevity.

It was never a fight. Lewis could have never beaten a prime tyson, he just didn't have the chin for it.
