In before Wisconsin retards.

Go Gators.

OSU-UM rematch would be a blowout. Look at history. Florida deserves it with the schedule they fought through. Plus: Does anyone think Notre Dame is any good? Does anyone think Wisconsin is really THAT good? We know the SEC is the best conference in football this year, and Florida emerged from the fray, after getting boned on that call at Auburn not unlike Oklahoma did at Oregon.

Yours truly, a Michigan fan.
>> Anonymous
Screw that, let the crackers suck wind and make Michigan-OSU the rematch of the decade.
>> Anonymous
LOL
this ain't exactly that Florida-FSU matchup back in the championship game years back. If you think florida truly deserves to go hands down, then quit crying about your loss to auburn
>> Anonymous
>>24801

Don't worry, Wisconsin is ineligible for a BCS bowl. The rules state that no more than two teams from any conference can get in; Michigan and Ohio State will get BCS bowls at worst, so... gg Wisconsin.
>> Anonymous
Michigan has #2, hands-down.

EPIC REMATCH
>> Anonymous
According to win %s, Michigan had the third toughest schedule this year. Thats just a little less tough than Floridas schedule.

Im going to have to go with Michigan on this one.
>> Anonymous
they should play to see who has the right to Ohio State...oh I think that's called playoffs right? Man what happened to those?
>> Anonymous
>>24808
Did I not say I'm a UM fan?
>> Anonymous
just send both teams to play ohio state.

florida gets the first half, michigan gets the second half.

anonymous says DO IT!
>> Anonymous
>>24826

I kind of like that idea.
>> Anonymous
they should combine themsleves into one team called Gatorwolves, and proceed to play OSU.
>> Anonymous
>>24850they should combine themsleves into one team called Gatorines, and proceed to play OSU.

fix'd
>> Anonymous
Florida is the obvious pick, they actually played teams who were ranked and won
>> Anonymous
Florida won their conference, Michigan didn't. Michigan already played Ohio State, Florida didn't. Therefore Florida vs OSU.

THREAD OVER.
>> Anonymous
ohio state would beat florida's ass

michigan has a chance to beat osu
>> Anonymous
USA Today poll has Florida ahead of Michigan by 26 votes. I *think* the computers will have Michigan slightly ahead, so it comes down to the Harris poll, which is by far the lamest poll. Too bad the writers' poll left.

I think Florida ends up going.
>> Anonymous
>>24885
They had a chance to beat OSU, and then the game started. The Michigan defense had no chance the whole game, and were rather lucky Troy Smith decided to fumble a couple times. You are probably one of the same people who said UCLA didn't have a chance against USC so lets just shut your little mouth and let the players on the field decide who wins. Michigan lost end of story.
>> Anonymous
lol @ UCLA > USC

Way to buttrape the computers and hopefully instigate a playoff system for next year
>> Anonymous
>>24915
The computers don't care, it's just another data point. It's the pollsters who were thrown into confusion by the Bruins' win.

And the playoff ain't happening. We're in the first year of a four-year deal between the BCS conferences and bowls. They're much too busy counting the money to hear your cries.

The Harris is usually the best poll...

LOL FLORIDA

gaaaaaaaaay.

Yes, let's punish Michigan for finishing their season two weeks ago. Clearly their skills have deteriorated since losing by 3.

At the #1 team in the country.

Fucking morons.

Ohio State by no less than 4 touchdowns giving up no more than 17 points.
>> Anonymous
>>24981

My bad, they weren't unranked.
>> Anonymous
>>24971
I'm Giving Florida 17, a crazy trick play touchdown(not playing for almost 2 months OSU will give up one of these), a FG and a touchdown during garbage time when OSU's (up by 35ish) 2nd stringers are in with like 4:15 left in the 4th. Lol Y'Know one of those Shitty plays that loses you the Under on your betting ticket.

Yes, Florida State was SUCH a juggernaut this year. Woo woo 6-6. Freaking WAKE FOREST went into their place and won by 30 in a shutout. What a fearsome opponent!

Arkansas was decent, yes, but a 10 point win over a team in rapid decline shouldn't make THAT much of a difference in the polls.

And, as previously shown, the bowl games have not been averse to rematches before.

At the very least, this proves that the vote isn't fixed by the BCS brass. Can you imagine the ratings on an OSU/Michigan rematch? Absolutely insane.
>> Anonymous
>>25020
I'm pretty sure the ratings for an OSU-Michigan rematch would be pretty underwhelming everywhere except the Midwest.

OSU-Florida, OTOH will probably do very well. The ratings for the last time Ohio State played a team from Florida for the nat'l championship were pretty good.
>> Anonymous
>>25020
Wake Forest is the champ down there arn't they?

Anyways, Michigan HAD THEIR SHOT AND BLEW IT. Who cares if it wasn't a neutral field, no one called for a rematch last year. OSU is a better team then Michigan and would win the rematch again. They don't need to prove they can beat a team they have already beaten in order to vie for a National Championship. Michigan already lost to them, get over it, go back to sucking Bret Favre's cock.
>> Anonymous
There's no reason the whole BCS should become the Big 10's personal conference championship game. Settle your conference shit on the field like Florida had to, and then we'll talk.

Until then, you're a team that played maybe 2 or 3 decent opponents all year and lost to the beast of them. Great work.

It's easy to look impressive when you beat up on shit competition 3/4 of the season. Winning by 7 against Penn St might easily have been a loss against Tennessee or Alabam, and beating Northwestern by 14 would have been a nailbiter against LSU or Georgia.

Be glad you aren't sitting in the SEC with 2 or 3 losses already, because then you'd have nothing to bitch about in the first place.
>> Anonymous
Their schedules weren't even close; Florida's was way tougher. Michigan played against only two ranked teams and lost to one of them. The other was an overrated Notre Dame. All the other teams sucked. They struggled with Ball St. They didnt win their conference. Ohio State did.

Florida played four ranked teams and lost to one. They beat Tennessee, LSU, and Arkansas and won their division. Florida's unranked opponents were also much stronger: Georgia, Alabama, and South Carolina (all the others sucked). These unranked teams did not have great records because they play against the Floria, Auburn, LSU, Tennessee, Arkansas.....so the win % statistic, which still shows Florida as better, is a worthless statistic.

Michigan didn't deserve to not go....but Florida deserved to go more.
>> Anonymous
>>25205

South Carolina was only 7-5, with a 3-5 conference record. And Florida only beat them by the grace of God himself.

And Michigan didn't just beat ND, they STOMPED ND. In Indiana, no less.
>> Anonymous
>>25206
Yeah, but you know Spurrier gets SoCar up for the Florida game. He beat 'em last year, and is probably going to be a major thorn in Florida's side for the next few years.

That aside, Florida and Michigan both had some non-conf cupcakes, but the SEC is quite a bit stronger than the Big 10 this year, so Florida gets the nod on the schedule.

I just wish the BCS would simply adopt the "If you don't win your conference, you can't play for the National Championship" rule. It would have avoided several controversies by now.
>> Anonymous
>>25219

I don't see why half the conferences don't have a title game. It would clear up so much shit.
>> Anonymous
>>25220
Title games only make sense if you have divisions. You only have divisions if you have exactly 12 or 14 teams. The conferences with 12 teams have divisions and title games. The other conferences don't and don't.

And the messes in 2001 and 2003 were caused because teams that lost their conference championship games were still allowed to play for the National Championship. And this year's controversy is caused because Michigan is still eliglble for the NCG even though they lost their conference.
>> Anonymous
Yeah, South Carolina was only 7-5. Lets see who they lost to:

12. Georgia
2. Auburn
8. Tennessee
12. Arkansas
6. Florida

(rankings at time of game)

South Carolina doesn't look like such an easy opponent now, do they? And they lost all of those games by 7 pts or less except for Georgia (18 - 0).

Michigan would have two or losses in the SEC.
>> Anonymous
>>25231

Auburn and Tennessee have been way overhyped this year.
>> Anonymous
A playoff system would be best but will never happen because of the money issue. Not the BCS wanting money, but the schools wanting money. All the bowl games generate revenue for the schools, lots of revenue. So schools want them.

Now you could take people from the playoffs and how they did and assign bowl games that way but you're still going to end up with controversy. BCS was supposed to elminate most of that because of the way the polls go. Unfortunately when a team loses late in the season they're suddenly a horrid team regardless of who they lost to, but if you lose at the beginning that's okay you can still play for the NC.

Moral of the story: Schedule hard opponents first and easy ones at the end so you don't get fucked in the polls.
>> Anonymous
A lot of people were overhyped this year. Miami? Florida State?

But the ACC and SEC are knocking themselves out because instead of having one or two good teams, then have 6 or 7.

And no one wants to watch a rematch except Michigan... get over it.
>> Anonymous
>>25258

Puhleeeeeese. On an ESPN poll of who ought to be Ohio State's challenger, the vote was 52-48 Florida.

But NOBODY wants to watch a rematch.......
