Has anyone ever been hurt playing NFL? Anonymous
I was looking though the soccer thread and some of those snapped legs and arms would take like 6-9 months of painful recovery.

Does this even happen in the NFL???

All I ever see is some fat dudes with mattresses and crash helmets for protection smashing into each other.

I imagine the worst that happens is some bruising and maybe some suffer just mild concussion. But nothing really serious though… just take a couple of aspirin and you’ll be fine the next day type of stuff

Is this true??

Because it’s funny how American football fags are always piping on about how the NFL is a real mans sport and that it's a tough sport when in fact no ever really gets hurt.

Unlike in soccer where players get severely injured all the time.

When NFL players get injured, it's usually life-threatening spinal cord injuries

They hurt their knees a lot.

Well there was that one guy who got paralyzed.

Oh, and the fact that the average career for a linesman in the NFL is about three years, because after that his joints are shot to hell.

Football is a retarded and barbaric sport where many former players are forced to file for disability after retiring.

"He pointed out that football is a "collision sport" where the average career is less than five years and ends with injury and is not comparable to disability claims by retired postmen or plumbers."

“Gridiron Greats also came upon many lesser-known players with stories like Brent’s. Players like Mike Mosley, a Buffalo Bills receiver for three years in the early ’80s. Mike suffered knee, neck and back injuries that forced him to retire early and left him permanently disabled. Initially, the NFL disability committee granted him benefits. But in September 2004, a doctor hired by ten NFL ruled that he could do sedentary work, and all his benefits were cut. Mike lost his home, his car, and his savings. His life has been torn apart.

“Another example is Brian DeMarco, a lineman for the Jacksonville Jaguars from 1995-1998. Like Mike, Brian was forced into an early retirement by injury. He was unable to navigate the disability system’s red tape – even though his back was broken in 17 places. Brian and his family were left homeless. He told the Denver Post the NFL ‘is a multibillion-dollar business, and guys are giving their quality of life up for this sport. Just a little respect and dignity is all we want.’

Football is the dumbest sport in the world

OP. This is being saged not only for massive d-baggy trolling, but also for massive d-baggery in general.

If you want to go the haughty "our sport is more manly than your sport" you need to make a better choice than soccer. Rugby, maybe. Or x-treme cricket. Hell, even ice hockey, were you finnish/sweedish/russian/ect.

But soccer? Seriously?

There's a whole union of former NFL players that have their lives ruined because of a life threatening injury that they've gotten just by being at the bottom of a pile. You don't know shit. Just go die.

No one was saying is soccer is more manly, OP is just showing how Americans have deluded themselves into thinking "American" football is more harsh and manly than soccer when the reality is that in soccer players suffer more serious injuries and in "American" football nothing bad really ever happens.

I can remember some recent big time injury. One was with David Pollack and the other was Kevin Everett. Both have neck injury, both won't be able to come back to the NFL imo.
