Best record in the American League. Let's see if they can take this series against Boston and keep lead of the AL east.

Boston are useless without Big Papi.

nice job leaving the yankees in the dust

boston is in your ass tho, play harder

otherwise, nobody really cares

Bostonfag here. I have no hate for the Rays. In fact, I rather lol that they're at the top of the Division. If the Yankees didn't suck this year I'd probably be SERIOUS BUSINESS but since they're awful I am loling.

Bostonfag here, too.

I think that the Devil in the Devil Rays' name was a curse, and they're now performing well after they dropped it.

Another Bostonfag here. All those first round picks are finally ammounting to something. Add veterans in the bullpen, new owners, a new name, some new paint and things are looking up in Tampa Bay. Best record in the league with a 44 million dollar payroll. What a difference a year makes (look at the Celtics).

The Rays (and especially their fans) deserve their success. They're a serious threat now, good excuse to go down and catch a series.

as ive said in every other thread, ive never met a bostonfag who hated the devil rays/rays. no idea about other al eastfags.

Both Boston and Tampa will fall fast soon, and Joba starting now only adds to that.

and then the yanks will lose in the first round and everyone can shut the fuck up.

Boston = Bandwagon, amirite? Even if you've followed your team for years through the thick and thin? If you need me to, I can scan my John Valentin autograph from 1999...

Never mind the 17 other bandwagons out there (like 18-1)

these people love throwing out bandwagon, and yeah boston does have a shitload of them because of recently. just hope theyre ready to get labeled as bandwagoners when their teams start win (except for cleveland... they will never win)

Yankeesfag here

Don't know any NYers who hate them

It just sucks how good the AL East is these days

>>130823

All teams are bandwagon

Even shitty teams like the Mets are, people only pretend to like them so they don't look like bandwagon Yankees fans

See, this is my main gripe with Bostonfags in general. You all think you're always this passionate underdog team overcoming the odds every year to win it. Hey guess what, Bostonfags. You're no better than the Yankees, you have one of the payrolls in baseball. You have become exactly what you have hated, even though you all deny it.

>you have one of the payrolls in baseball.

I would hope everyone does.

You misspelled Chicago at the end there

Boston has a high payroll, true enough, but like half of their new star talent was either brought through the kickass developmental system (Ellsbury, Pedrioa, Buccholz, Lester, Papelbon, Youkilis) or bought for cheap ass money (Ortiz, Lowell). The ones that we paid a shitload for turned out to be mediocre at best (Matsuzaka, Drew, Lugo). The only players we pay a lot for that kick ass are Manny and Beckett.

I'm not saying we're an underdog. I realize we have the fourth/fifth highest payroll in baseball. I'm just sick of being accused of being a bandwagoner every time I post that I'm a Red Sox fan.

I've been going to games since my dad could actually afford them (1997-current) and watching since I was 4.

>>130703here. Never said I was rooting for the Rays. Just that this year in baseball is a funny one for me. Since the Red Sox will probably wrap up the Wild Card without trouble (or even overtake the Rays), I see no point in shitting my pants over it.

I just find it aggravating that the reason most people outside of Boston have become Sox fans because of their hatred for the Yankees. It's so hypocritical to support the Red Sox for the possessing the exact same qualities that you originally hated the Yankees for.

It's okay, I hate both equally. Being a Rays fan since the team was made. Boston fans and Yankees fans are both equally obnoxious throughout the Tampa Bay area.

Raysfag here, sad part about the Rays is that pretty much everyone here in Tampa has lost hope in them. I went to a game a few weeks ago on a saturday and i kid you not i counted roughly only 120 people in the seats. Thing about Tampa is that even if we win a championship in anysport people don't really notice.

Also, I'm hoping last the last Boston sweep wasn't a fluke. but it still surprised me
