How would you legitimately rank the FBS conferences?

1.) SEC - This one is easy. They have phenomenal athletes, recruiting, and coaching. They have, what? 5 teams in the top 10 right now? A no brainer.

2.) Big 12 - OU and Missouri look like solid choices to head to a BCS game. Texas and Texas Tech are both playing well, but I think will probably end up lower than they currently are.

3.) Big 10 - I know I'll catch flak for this, but between Wisconsin, Illinois, Penn State, and yes, even OSU, the conference isn't as bad as everyone seems to think. They've dropped some high profile games, but overall the conference is pretty strong. Michigan State could be a bit of a dark horse too.

4.) Mountain West - BYU, Utah and TCU are all playing really well, but put them in a tougher conference and they don't do a thing.

5.) Pac-10 - the ONLY thing the Pac10 has going for it is USC. Oregon doesn't have a QB and the rest of the conference is simply awful. They've got one team, and granted it's a great team, but that's not enough to drag the conference up.

6.) ACC - Looked promising at the outset with Clemson, VaTech, Wake Forest, and BC, but none of them have really performed up to expectations. Especially Clemson.

7.) Big East - They have, umm... South Florida? Pitt and Louisville were good last year, but this year, not so much.

Seriously, the Pac Ten is the only good conference. The rest are about the same, except for the SEC which is on the bottom.

That's true of most conferences. The SEC is the only conference that has good teams top to bottom. Shit, Vandy - their "worst" team - is still ranked 25th.

If you can look me in the face and tell me there are good teams in the pac ten outside of USC without laughing I commend you.

God knows Iowa State, OK State, Baylor, and A&M sure are powerhouses in the big twelve...

WAC should be higher than it is (NOT ON THE LIST!)
Fresno played Wisconsin really really close and could have won, and Wisconsin is a top ten team
They've also provided the 'BCS buster' team for the past two years

Nope. I can't stand OSU. But LSU is not that fucking good. When people can offhandedly name 5 teams better than a team, the team just isn't that good.

#9 Wisconsin (3-0, beat a favored Fresno State team on the road)
#12 Penn State (4-0, have absolutely demolished and dismantled all four opponents thusfar.)
#14 Ohio State (3-1, I know, lol they got their asses beat, so I won't even say anything here)
#22 Illinois (Juice Williams looks really effective, plus they have that strong defense)
Michigan State (Without a doubt a legitimate dark horse team.)

Even Northwestern is 4-0 and got some votes last week. This conference is not that bad, and certainly better than the ACC, Big East, Mountain West, and 9 teams in the PAC-10. Just because Ohio State has gotten raped every time a national television crew has been at the game doesn't discredit the rest of the conference. Don't equate the Buckeyes and Wolverfaggots with the rest of the Big Ten.

>>356995
I was at the game. What the fuck do you mean "should have won"? Both teams had trouble scoring, Wisconsin made the plays when it counted most.

Fucking rage. Stop listening to ESPN. The ACC is fucking lousy, and the Big East is not even in the same league as the Big Ten.
>> Anonymous
I think anybody who is saying the Big Ten is on the same level as the ACC or Big East is just joking. If they are serious, they have to be mentally handicapped. You cannot seriously look at the teams in those leagues and tell me the Big Ten isn't far and away above the rest. The Big Ten should go right behind SEC and BIG 12. If USC had its own conference I would rank it as number one.
>> Anonymous
If USC goes on to demolish everyone they play and win big in the title game, OSU's loss won't be such a big deal. They'll have lost to a great team.

the big 10 is slightly above the ACC and big east, but the pac 10 is better than the big 10.

1. SEC
2. Big 12
3. Pac-10
4. Mountain West
5. Big 10
6. ACC
7. Big East
8. Conference USA

See, all of this is in perspective to this year, right? We aren't talking historic or about last year or anything, right? Just this year?

Then I'd say

1. SEC
2. Big 12
3. Mountain West
4. Pac-10
5. Big 10
6. WAC
7. ACC
8. Big East
9. Conference USA
10. Sun Belt
11. MAC

It's pretty convenient how all of you SEC fags seem to forget how Michigan went into Florida and whooped their ass last year. I know it was a bowl game but it still was in the god dahm state of florida. Mich might not be good this year, but just because the Fuckeyes can't beat any team from any other decent conference doesn't mean the big 10 sucks
>> Anonymous
>>357815
Yes. Yes, that's exactly what it means. The Big-10 has been at Big East level for a few years, yet nobody seemed to notice. They're noticing now. Michigan won last year in a letdown game. The Big 10 is awful. And I'm not an SEC fan since I'm sure that's what you assume.
>> Anonymous
>>357815
Bawww... so last year it was 9 teams driving the point home instead of 10, whooptyfuckindo. This year it's all 11, enjoy your slow, painfully mediocre "football" buddy.
>> Anonymous
>>357827
>>357829
See it's real convenient. Always some excuses. Last year the big 10 had a winning record in bowl games. This year, once again OSU disappoints, but Michigan state, a middle of the pack big 10 team, goes into Cal, one of the better pac 10 teams, and plays them right down to the wire. There hasn't been enough games between the major conferences to form an opinion, but when bowl time rolls around again count on the big 10 to have a winning record.
>> Anonymous
>>357835
Who the fuck says Cal is "one of the better Pac-10 teams"? Cal is fucking awful. If MSU played any of the schools that were listed earlier as Pac-10 teams under performing to their potential and beat them, perhaps this conversation should be had, but at this point, I don't feel the Big 10 is deserving of any respect whatsoever.

>>356995

Aside from the bullshit officiating maybe. The fumble call - and it WAS a fumble as per the WAC officials reviewing the call after the game - was just plain wrong as were a number of phantom holding calls on Wisconsin.

If Wisconsin had gotten the ball after the fumble and had put the ball into the endzone on the first drive that game would have been 24-3. I'm not saying Fresno didn't play a good game, but the refs had a lot more to do with the close score than the players on the field.

I see a huge upset happening for USC. Leaving the BCS to OU and Mizzouri, should they not lose a game.

No matter what, This years title is going to the big 12.

As a Texas Tech student/fan myself, if we were to fix our problems, keep ourselves from losing, (we totally can. We suddenly have a defense and one of the top rated offenses in college...) it could be TTU with the win this year.

But it would take a LOT of improvements. Which I think we can do.

Go Red Raiders.
>> Anonymous
mr. red raider it wont and cant be OU vs mizz for title..unless you meant "or" instead of "and" in which case it is possible if you dont mean in the bcs game versus each other...either way everyone knows its the mormons year to win
