Why now???

I've watched college football a long time and rarely is a Cinderella seen as threatening the powerhouse teams always ranked high.
South FLA over WVU? WTF? Where did this crop of Boise States come from and more importantly, why now?

It's not like Boise State beat Georgia (whom they played in 2005 and were soundly crushed by). Regardless of who you played, the phrase "12-0" is pretty daunting.

I don't pretend to know how the hell the WAC did this (or how TCU did it last year, but Urban Meyer at Utah the year before is self-explanatory)... but the Big East is what caused this whole problem.

The media (those assholes) will try and tell you that the three BE powers are Rutgers, WVU and Louisville. But since they're stupid, they fail to notice that it's not 3 teams... it's 5. South Florida and Pitt are just as tough, they just have what we call "a real schedule."

Rutgers was never a threat to anyone, and Boise would probably take them out in a bowl game. If anything, we can thank the Big East for reminding us the BCS is still broken-- Louisville is ranked ahead of Rutgers next week, and will remain so even if Rutgers beats WVU to win the conference championship.

OK but who the f*** *is* South FLA? I'd noticed a Central FLA team was beginning to play well a year or so back but SF?
I thought FLA would be content with 3 actual football teams so where are these Alcorn State wannabes coming from?

Uh, do you even follow college football? Where were you last year when the uninformed media picked Louisville to win a national championship, and even WITH their embarrassingly easy schedule, they lost their first game to the South Florida Bulls?

They might not have the history of Miami or Florida, but South Florida has won some high profile games, and is for REAL. Any team can beat Syrcause, Cincinnati or Connecticut any day of the week, but after years of only 3 Florida powers, there's a 4th one on the block.

And no, I don't mean 4-8 UCF.
