So, seriously now. How many of you actually dislike ESPN and how many of you just say you do so people on 4chan agree with you?

If you really do hate ESPN as much as you say you do, then where do you go for your all-encompassing sports coverage?

I get most of my sports news off Yahoo, frankly.

You might as well go to FARK for political commentary.

I don't hate them, I'm just not too fond of their popularity bias, but then I suppose everything's got bias.

Don't like the bias on ESPN? Get all the bandwagon fans to stop being bandwagoners and it'll go away.

i hate that they barely cover futbol and that their non sports news programs generally are terrible (around the horn fucking terrible, jim rome famous for being a cock and getting a beatdown, and 1st and 10 for having skip "i'm a faggot that has shit coming from my mouth at all times when opened" bayless). plus their announcers suck (JOE MORGAN), sportscenter has been trash for awhile now with stuart scott being token WOA SHIZZLE THAT WAS A DAG ANSTY DROP OF A DUNK and the rest trying to be quirky as hell

I'm guessing you hate Hockey.

They barely cover it because soccer is NOT a popular sport in America. Same reason they don't cover curling or jai alai.

with all the spics and indians you'd think otherwise

My teams are all on the west side of America, so naturally I don't watch ESPN.

I haven't watched ESPN for years, aside from actual games

I have a small tv in my office; usually I rotate among ESPN, CNN, and C-SPAN throughout the day. Between television and 4chan, it's a wonder I get anything done.

ESPN is good for information, but you have to interpret that information for yourself. They will tell clear cut injuries, areas of success/weakness for teams, trades etc that are useful. They will also create soap operas out of player comments which you should ignore (aka current TO outburst bullshit). Never listen to them for picks either, funny how every Monday night (football) the 8 "experts" are split down the middle on who will win without even considering a spread. Basically, watch it for facts and footage, fuck the opinions.

It's just that Yahoo always has terribly misinformed articles about hockey

the TV station and Radio stations are a joke, we have decent Local guys who work them here in Vegas but their national shows are awful.

outside the Rome ATH PTI block and sometimes Cold Pizza I would never watch any of the non sports events show.

First off, I don't want all-encompassing sports coverage. I pick and choose coverage of sports that I want. Thus, I use the internets to find coverage of sports I care about. If you want in-depth coverage of any sport besides baseball and football, you don't watch ESPN for that coverage.

I do watch ESPN for actual sporting events, and occasionally Sportscenter if there is actual major breaking news. Other than that, I don't really watch any of the analysis shows (Baseball tonight, NFL Live, etc.) or any of the opinion shows (ATH, PTI).

It's pretty simple. While ESPN was initially great because it offered a specialized coverage, now with the internet, you can get even further specialized coverage. Rather than simply accept what coverage the media provides, you can really pick and choose exactly want you want with the internet. You can essentially create your own reality of what sports exist. As far as I am concerned, baseball doesn't even exist because I never watch the games, and I never see any coverage of it. And that's because I can choose not to see or hear anything about it.

I love a number of things on ESPN. PTI, ATH, Erin Andrews, Tony Reali, Sportcentury is the greatest biography show on television, College Gameday is pretty great, and I even like Sportscenter sometimes. But I hate a lot more things about ESPN than I like. The fact that they only show games they care about, the fact that Stuart Scott, John Kruk, Steve Philips, Chris Berman, and Stephen A. Smith all receive a paycheck from the network, and the fact that they seem to love showing NASCAR nowadays.

STUART SCOTT THINKS HES ON BET WITH HIS NIGGER SLANG

CHRIS BERMAN IS A FAT SLOB WITH HIT ASS SOUND EFFECTS AND FAGGOT NICK NAMES

JAWS, HIS HEAD IS SO FAR UP THE EAGLES ASS HE CAN TASTE MCNIGGERS BREATH

KORNASSHOLE, SHOULS STAY IN THE PTI STUDIO AND DIE

JIM ROME, FAGGOT JEW WHO WOULD GET HIS SHIT PUSHED IN MY JIM EVERETT

TREY WINGO, TRIES TO FUCKING HARD SCREAMING THROUGH HIGHLITES

MIKE GOLIC AND "GREENIE" ARE CLOSET FAGGOTS

PETER GAMMONS, WIPING RED SOX JIZZ OF HIS WRINKLED CHINS

PROTIP: ESPN=Entertainment and Sports Programming Network

It is a sports network... if you are looking for non-sports programming, you came to the wrong place.

you don't get much of a choice in most of the country.
i like the shows on SNY and YES, but also PTI and ATH.

plus everyone watches sportcenter
