Steeler's problem. Anonymous
Now that Pittsburgh's 2 main running backs are out, one being out for the season, should the Steelers give Shaun Alexander a shout?

I say they sign Travis Henry

that's funny that was my first thought when mendenhall went down... for the record I thought, " I wonder if the steelers will try to sign Alexander"

NFL suspended him for the year, for violating substance abuse policy. Though he wouldn't work in Pittsburgh, they need a big back, not a fast back. Parker will be back in a few weeks.

They signed Davenport today, but I still think they need another.

You do know willie parker is one of the faster RB's in the league, right? His name is Fast Willie Parker for christ's sake.

That's exactly why they don't need another fast back. They need a big back to compliment Parker when he's healthy in a week or too, since Mendenhall was the "big" back.

Weren't the Lions in for him as well? What the hell happened to Alexander?

i heard on espn or somewhere that there were talks of a trade with the giants, since they have such depth at runningback. kind of like ryan grant going to the packers

He had a bunch of injures in 06 that never really went away.

You might as well go out there and play running back yourself. You'll probably gain more yards.

He already dumped on him a few weeks back.

Behind your crap-tastic line, whoever you sign will be a casualty by week six.

I've hated Parker since he entered the league.

He's always been garbage.

The 2004 playoffs are illustrative of that point.

Enjoy your running back who avoids contact and dives like a soccer player instead of trying to break tackles.

>Shaun Alexander

BEHIND THAT LINE??!

What difference does it make? With that amazingly inept line, and with every running back getting battered and Roethlisberger on the verge of getting injured every snap, the Steelers should just shut it down this year and start thinking about next season.

Yeah, it's a shame, Pittsburgh's line this year is dreadful. They looked amazing against the Texans in week 1, after that..it all went downhill.
