08-09 Football Season Anonymous
Predict your teams regular season W-L and how deep they will go into playoffs(if at all):
NY Giants: 12-4
Super Bowl Champion(sorry I cant be negative after this season), but will probably lose in Conference finals
>> Anonymous
No offence but you're from NY. You fuckers could be negative of Eli and the Giants if they called lightning from the heavens and smote Tom Brady. You know if they don't do well this year its back under the bus for the G-Men.
>> Anonymous
>>66708
Giants fan here too, 12-4 seems about right, and i like to think they could win it all again
>> Anonymous
>>66712
i don't think so, really they just have to play well and atleast do well in the playoffs, Eli and them already proved their worth, they just have to maintain it

So true, but ironically I live in NH (and everyone is a Patsfag) so I had a good laugh when we won the Super Bowl, alot of people were saying shit like "look at who we are playing, how could we lose" and I'm like just wait fellas

honestly, as a giants fan, I still think our QB is the weakest point of our offense. The worst thing that could happen to the giants in terms of Eli is winning the superbowl. Before, he was on rocks. Now, for the next couple years, no matter how terrible he does, they can always say he has a ring.

and for the record, i also still think Justin Tuck was robbed out of MVP

>>66739
Ya, that happening is in the back of my mind recently. I just hope it doesnt go on like that. Eli can be a strong QB if he keeps an even head and stays calm. Every Giant fan knows how nasty Eli is in the two minute situations. :) He just needs to play that well and consistent all the time.

>>66742
in b4 pic of spinning peyton with a mustache
>> Anonymous
>>66739

Don't know how you can say that. The last 5 games Eli was the arguebly the strongest point of the offense. Maybe Brandon Jacobs here and there but Eli really improved and played excellent.
>> Anonymous
>>66746
Just those last 5 though really, we have to wait to see if he can create those number for 16 games next season. But seeing as those 5 were against the best of the best its hard to be too negative.
>> Anonymous
>>66739
Eli's only problem is consistency, if he played like he did in the playoffs all the time, he'd be awesome, we'll just have to see what happens next season
>> Anonymous
Next season will be pretty big for Eli, he has to show that he can maintain a high level of play all the time. I want to stay positive and think he can, and if he does, then the Giants have a bright future ahead of them especially with all the young talent they've been bringing in

Is it coincidence as well that they started winning as soon as Ahman Bradshaw first started?
>> Anonymous
>>66761
probably not, Bradshaw is fuckwin
>> Anonymous
     File :-(, x)
I think now that he has the monkey off his back he should be more consistant due to less pressure.
Of course you could go the other way and say after winning the Super Bowl the pressure is higher. I guess we'll just have to see. He has the talent, he's shown that before especially in the playoffs last season. I think he can do it, but thats just me.
>> Anonymous
>>66766
I agree, this next season is going be a test to see if he maintains his god play
>> Anonymous
like the other Anon said, if he settles down and plays like Eli Manning, not like Archie's son and Peyton's brother than yeah, he will be fine.

Allow me to intervene here with a little common sense. You tell me, as a Giants fan, whose team has just won perhaps the most improbable Super Bowl in history (furthering the team's confidence), that it is BAD for Eli Manning to win a ring?

at Kansas City - W
Tampa Bay - W
Jacksonville - L
at New England - L

Miami- W
at Cleveland - I see a shootout L here
at Atlanta - W
Oakland - W
NY Giants - L
Kansas City - W

Another Broncofag here and even I'll admidt that we get ahead of ourselves. We see this awesome roster and a promising quarterback and we predict big things. WE shoot off at the mouth in August and BAWWW hard in December.
>> Anonymous
>>68764
It's not, and they aren't going to even be 8-8. 8-8 in games they should win, maybe. Add in the fact that it's tough to win and you're the Broncos and 6 wins is where they might end up.
>> Anonymous
>>66871

if the Texans weren't in one of the hardest divisions, they'd be considered a much better team.

shame
>> Anonymous
>>67848
Yeah but their schedule is pretty brutal. They'll be lucky to go 2-2 against the AFC South. Throw in a loss or two to the FUCKING BEARS, and that one game they seem to lose every year that they have no business losing, and I see 10-6.
>> Anonymous
>>68843

Eh, 2-2 vs. AFC South shouldn't be too hard.

Games they'll potentially lose: Cowboys, Colts, Jaguars, and maybe split with the Bears.

No worries about the rest of the NFC opponents, and they'll trounce the Lions and Vikings as usual.
>> Anonymous
>>68728
We're getting McNabb and Ocho Cinco, then we'll be 19-0
>> Anonymous
>>68998
The Cowboys game is at Lambeau, they should be fine.

However the games at Seattle and at NO worry me.
>> Anonymous
>>69013

Good call on Seattle, never took into account where they were playing. But, if the Saints are anywhere near as bad as they were last year I won't be too worried. But like the other guy said, the Packers always try to lose one for no reason at all...or maybe that was just Favre.

>> Alakazam !!OEP6m59Bksc

If they got a good QB and a couple of good receivers in general they could easily be one of the top tier teams in the NFC. I really think they have a good shot of winning the division this year, Aaron Rodgers won't even come close to filling Favre's shoes and the other two teams are laughable.
