OP's pic is from the TMQ article on ESPN. This is the same fucking retard that thinks the Wildcat offense works because "you're blocking 11-11 instead of 10-11"

Jesus fucking christ. I facepalmed through my fucking skull.
>> Anonymous
>>389950
Wow ESPN is retarded...

Wildcat works because it allows a running back to make decisions on the fly running the football. You need an intelligent runner to pull it off successfully.

It's not that simple:

It's about disguising a power running attack with a standard personnel grouping. It's interesting as fuck.

Peyton's worst year > Eli's greatest year (18-1 excluded, Peyton's stuck in AFC so unfair advantage)

the nfc is clearly (especially the east) better this year and the colts main rival lost the league mvp to injury, NO EXCUSE
>> Anonymous
>>390014
ONLY the NFC East is above the AFC this year. Team for team the AFC is still superior. And that is the same trend we have seen every year from the NFC.

A couple of good teams surrounded by mountains of crap. Both the NFC North and West could be won by teams of .500 or less.
>> Anonymous
>>390036
I try not to factor in the crap, take the top 6 teams from both conferences and the nfc is clearly better, and kansas city, texans, and bengals, raiders are worse than lions 49ers rams, and seahawks
>> Anonymous
>>390041
lol no, Bengals almost beat two of your so called 'top teams.' Kansas City unseated what many thought was going to be the class of the AFC, and if you are saying Oakland would lose to the Lions I am led to believe you simply don't pay attention to things outside of the NFC at all.

Its pretty obvious that the Cardinals are the only thing you can possibly call a team in that division.

So yes, I can easily agree that the Cards are better then the 49ers.

Eli and Peyton are both excellent QBs...

In '04 when Eli first took over for Kurt Warner in NY Peyton was putting up outstanding numbers and captivating everyone with his natural charisma. That year big bro Peyton had almost 70% completion and a QB rating of over 121. While Eli was throwing for under 50% completion and had a QB rating that year of around 55. The comparisons were inevitable and everyone, most of all the NY sports media were clamoring that Eli was a total bust. He was the number 1 overall draft pick of that year (by San Diego, traded to the Giants for 4th overall pick Philip Rivers as well as a 3rd rnd pick that year and more picks in 2005). Being a number 1 pick you are of course expected to be the greatest thing ever right from the get go. Eli struggled in '04 and continued to struggle for the next few years, throwing around 50% completion and with a QB rating of around 75. It wasn't until the post season last year that he started to blow people away.

I'm not ready to say Eli > Peyton just yet. Peyton has a career avg QB rating of nearly 100 and is in his 11th season while Eli's rating is under 75 and is in his 5th season. Eli has shown some great spurts in the past, even in his rookie year. Against the Steelers in a close but losing effort that ended in a score of 33-30 Eli threw with a rating of over 100. In '05 he had 3 games throwing over 100 against the Chargers, Rams, and Eagles (130 against the Eagles). In '06 against the Eagles and Cowboys he threw over 100.

If Eli continues to play the way he has since the post season of '07-'08 and the start of this '08 season, then he will turn out to be as good or better than Peyton, but he's not there yet.
>> Anonymous
I'd say Eli > Peyton now based on postseason performance. Peyton always looks lost when the playoffs come around. Eli isn't great but he's not a boat anchor.

Tom Brady > Peyton > Eli.

Tom is amazingly sexy, 3-1 (hur hur 18-1 fags get ready to go crazy) with super bowls, redefined cool, and his girlfriend so amazingly hot he probably paid the KC player to take his acl out for a year off to do nothing fuck her asshole.

Peyton may have down syndrome, but he's proven to be just overall better than Eli. Eli won because of the defense last season, I doubt they will repeat this year. Despite the Colt's rough start, I could see them again championing the Patriots again in the playoffs unless their Defense takes charge.

Anyone who says Eli > Peyton is bandwagon faggot who's worse than the bandwagon faggots who supported the Patriots. I've been a Patriots fan all my life, and will love them still when they go the way of the lions (if they do).
>> Anonymous
I've been an Eli fan since the 6-10 season when he took over. I think I'm one of like 3 people in the NY/NJ area who didn't crucify him when we went 8-8 and promptly lost to the Eagles in the first round of the playoffs. Even if we collapse this season and finish 4-12, I'd still want him as the starter.

That being said, He isn't better than Peyton. He's just playing the part really well right now. The Giants have a better OL and better Defense. Eli's supporting cast > Peyton's supporting cast. The Giants as a whole are better than the Colts. If we could magically transpose Peyton to the Giants and Eli to the Colts and they both have knowledge of the respective playbooks, do you think the Colts would still be 2-2? Probably not.
>> Anonymous
>>390328
Well, I wouldn't say their supporting casts are BETTER than the other, but let's face it, the Colts are severly roughed up this year, worse than they were last year. Saturday AND Sanders? Fuck my life.

At full capacity, for both teams, I'd say Peyton's a better QB. However, it's hard to say which team is overall better. I want Giants vs Colts in the Superbowl.

>>390334
Well I would agree that the Colts aren't playing at 100%, but the Giants have an incredibly talented team and are deep at pretty much every position. Sure the Colts have some outstanding players, Saturday, Addai, Freeney, Sanders, Harrison, Wayne etc. But the Giants 3rd stringers could find starting jobs pretty much anywhere in the league. Hell, they traded Ryan Grant to Green Bay for draft picks after he had an excellent preseason in '07 because they just couldn't retain him with the amount of talent they already had, Jacobs, Ward, Bradshaw and Droughns.

I think you can go down the roster and argue position by position that the Giants are better injured or not. I'm just going to leave it at that, it's just my opinion.

Eli is a decent quarterback, but that's about it. It's really the rest of the team that wins the games. You could put Rex Grossman as starting QB for the Giants and they'd win the Super Bowl hands down.
