Thanks, Cliff Lee, for giving me a chance to win my fantasy league while only costing me Adam Dunn and Bobby Jenks.

Fuck you boston
>> Cleveland Fag !AVztAjVxGg
Boston just won the game. Offense is too retarded to score more runs since they already had a big inning and our bullpen is sub-Mets level.
>> Cleveland Fag !AVztAjVxGg
>>357214

We knew this. Regardless of schedule, the sheer amount of IP and CG shows his superiority.

Again, he totally redid his delivery in the minors last year he was rehabbing his injury, in addition to adding a new pitch.

>> Cleveland Fag !AVztAjVxGg

This. It's seriously like comparing two totally different pitchers.

Be skeptical, but bar a serious injury, you don't do this well one season and then never again. He will never reproduce this year, but he was always been a solid #2 if not #1 starter on most teams in baseball.
>> Anonymous
Lee has always been touted as one of those pitchers who has a shitload of potential, but could never find it. It is generally agreed that he found it this year. It's not like he woke up one day and was good and everyone was surprised about it, anyone who really paid close attention to baseball knew that he was gonna be big one day.

/sp/ is just full of faggots. If you think Lee is gonna go back to shit after this season, you're a fucking idiot. Be real.

I was hoping Wedge would bomb these games with September Callups just so Yankeefags couldn't even get close to the playoffs.

But alas, Wedge doesn't know how to tank.
>> Anonymous
So you're saying he figured it out when he was... 29 years old. Yeah, okay. More like steroids. I will laugh when we see MLB publicly call him out as a druggie.

Masterson is the Sox best relief pitcher next to Papelbon. Agree? Delcarmen and Okajima can be good, but they haven't been consistent.
>> Anonymous
>>357313
Agreed.

Masterson is a great set-up, he's definitely helped out the pen.
>> Anonymous
>>357313
Agree, but I think they should have kept him a starter.

Yeah. In place of Buchholz.

What is this shit. Francona should have just put in Pap instead of Lopez.
>> Anonymous
>>357321
Not really. They still have other starters in the farm system. Like Buchholz and Bowden, still I see 1 of them being traded to Texas this off-season. The Red Sox biggest need this season was the bullpen and Masterson helped that.

Look at Derek Lowe in 2002. He had a very similar season to what Cliff Lee is currently having and he hasn't come close since then. Flukes happen. If Lee dominates next year, then I'll be happily surprised but I just don't see it happening.
>> Anonymous
>>357370

Speaking as a Dodgers fan, he's been remarkably consistent. He should be the 2nd pitcher signed after C.C. , and worthy of a 4 year/$48 million. Or the Carlos Silva special.

He's a good pitcher but he's not dominant like he was in 2002. Currently, he's an excellent third starter or a very good second starter but he's not an ace.
>> Anonymous
>>357384

Well yeah. We signed Lowe after his 2004 season, which was pretty much a disaster for him. Everyone thought the Dodgers signed him to a overpriced contract, but then inflation set for starting pitching to the point where Gil Meche could get 5 years/$55 million, and Lowe suddenly got a underrated contract. Really, we're just glad he's been above average/pretty good, instead of crap.

He's allowed 14 runs -- 12 earned -- and 30 hits over 21 2/3 innings in his last three starts. Move prove he's coming back down to Earth. Enjoy next year with a terrible Cliff Lee again.
>> Anonymous

>>357394

Yeah 2004 sucked for Derek Lowe.
Anytime a guy is the winning pitcher in the clinching game of the ALDS, ALCS, and World Series....good God, what SHIT HE MUST BE! LOLOLOL XD.

The only disaster for D-Lowe was in 2005 when he found out he had ADD and nobody figured out that could be why he sucks so bad.. there are a lot of shiny objects in baseball stadiums.
>> Anonymous
>>357407

While the civilized world lols.
>> Anonymous
>>357497

He also had a ERA+ of 90 in 2004 in the regular season. Its partly why the Dodgers only signed him when it was late Jan, and teams were getting ready for Spring Training. Everyone was scared that Lowe was going to be a horrible pick up and he has Scott Boras as his agent.
>> Anonymous
>>357488

But Lee was never terrible, just average.
