britfag here, Hi!

I saw on the news earlier some shit about some fucker who moved from some team to some other team but being the crafty little bugger that he is when the time came to play his old team he told his new team their play secrets...

what the fuck is wrong with doing this??

surely everyone who moves teams does this when they play their old teams
>> SSG Posted Here
Well, it's "acceptable" for the person to tell his new team how to defeat his old one, but not to tell a different team altogether how to do so.

Really, though, the team who may have received information on the Green Bay Packers, the Detroit Lions, are terrible to the point that they could be given the playbook of the other team, be playing in front of their home crowd and STILL lose by double digits. They are the worst team in sports, and nothing could save their shitty ass. This is only reinforced by the fact that the Packers raped the Lions in their game following this phone call.

You Brits probably feel the same way about Benedict Arnold.

so the guy I read about doesnt actually play for the Lions? I must of read it wrong

btw i thought the lions were good, Axel Foley and Tim "the tool man" Taylor support them

Situations such as this happen all the time. The only reason it got any attention is because it involved a major megastar. That, and the last few days have been extreeeeemely slow sports days.

Fellow Britfag, I thought you knew better by now, in a good sport, oh I don't know, like one created in the UK such as real football or something, there's not really much in the way of hiding your tactics from the opponent. Of course, you can have a unique tactic to try at a free kick or something like that, but generally it's pretty open. We all know American football is stupidly complicated (yes, I know the rules, I have had tryouts for a team) and this is why shit like this happens. In real football a player gets transferred and when he comes to play his old team he tells his new manager 'they play 4-3-3'. Oh right, thanks for the info, dipshit, I couldn't have ever worked that out. This is one of many reasons why real football > American football.

Things always go slow when a gigantic, seemingly fast moving bandwagon that won't die is suddenly stopped by a small group, and then raped and pillaged (See: what happened to Boston Red Sox fans after Game 7 of the 2008 ALCS)

Hi Mr. Britfag!

Everyone tells their new team the secrets but doesn't tell all the other teams as well.

Due to the lack of tactics? I thought that was one of the things you Britfags defended to the death when it was brought up...

Brett Farve retired at the wrong time and despite being a beloved Green Bay Packer and hugely popular among Green Bay's fanatical fanbase, the team pretty much told him they weren't going to take him back in. So he went to the New York Jets.
Now, before the second game of the season, he supposedly had a phone conversation with the GM of the godawful Detroit Lions, who he is friends with, and told him all of Green Bay's secrets. This would be terrible and shocking except for one thing, the Lions got their asses kicked in the game.

If he had given the information to his own new team it would not have been news

However he gave the information to an entirely different team (a division opponent of his old team), so there you go.

brett favre tells the lions how to beat the packers, but then they lose

media says: HDJKGGHKADKDOIFHODfDIOFHAOHFOAGOADJFIJAFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

patriots get caught videotaping opposing defenses, probably did the same in super bowls prior to 18-1

media says: it's not THAT big a deal. i mean come on they fined the team and the highest paid coach in the league a nominal amount, lets just drop it and talk about how grrrrrreat Tom Brady is.

It wouldn't matter if Favre told them anything anyway. Teams change their gameplan and "language" each week. Even if you know what's coming, you still have to defend it. The Lions won't be defending anything any time soon.
