No reason to hate them at all. Blackburn are a great example of small town club that punch well above their weight in the Premiership - and continue to do so year after year (they're also one of the only other clubs to have ever won the EPL title).
They have a relatively small fan base but that's mainly due to not being based in a city and having a ridiculously small catchment area - they're in very close proximity to Manchester, Bolton, Liverpool and Wigan, who obviously all have their own EPL teams.
They're a very well run and managed family club. They don't make a great deal of money, but what they do make they put straight back into the club, spending very wisely on quality players like Friedel, McCarthy, Santa Cruz, Bentley, Samba, Warnock etc etc. They also use a percentage of their TV money to subsidise season tickets to try to attract more fans to the ground - thus making them one of the cheapest teams to watch in the entire EPL.
It's widely accepted that Blackburn are one of the better teams outside of the top 4 and they continually give far bigger and better financed teams a run for their money.
