Hey /sp/ lets see some people who died playing the sport they loved.
One person sticks out in my mind Jiri Fischer, had a seziure on the ice and died. He was revived but that isnt the point

Guessing that it's that Cameroonian who died of exhaustion. Ended up telling the clubs and national tournaments to "give their players more rest" and shit.

Marc-Vivien Foé, midfielder from Cameroon. He did not die from exhaustion, but some kind of heart failiure.

>A first autopsy did not determine an exact cause of death, but a second autopsy later revealed hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and concluded that Foé's death was heart-related.

From the always reliable wikipedia. I dont know why his death hit me harder than the other footballer's, but he seemed very likeable.

One of the best drivers ever, died in the last lap of the biggest race of the year.

Even if you could give a fuck about racing, this movie will make you weep like a sissygirl.

Trajko Rajkovic, one of the best basketball players in ex Yugoslav history, died moments after Yugoslavia won World Championship 1970 in Ljubljana, Slovenia (then it was part of Yugoslavia). Yugoslavia won their first title of world champions and Rajkovic's heart gave up on him. It was "either ’cause of doctor’s carelessness, that took Rajkovi?’s sudden weakness too easily, or just ’cause of will of the destiny."

Yugoslavia gaind one champion but lost another.

I'm a big nascar fan, and I know it's not a sport, but that was a very sad day.

>Yugoslavia gaind one champion but lost another.

I'm not even a fan of Nascar but that was just a surreal thing to hear about. Wasn't he winning the race too at that point?

He wasn't winning, but he was up front. Actually, Dale had his own race team, and his driver won that race.

It was like Joe Montana dying during the Super Bowl.

Epic death. If there is a sports Valhalla, he's definitely there.

Ray Chapman. Hit in the head by a pitch and killed.

No. I think the incident revealed some kind of chronic issue that prevents him from playing. I believe he still has work with the Red Wings as some training adviser or something.
