Staal also needs to actually stay with the Pens, too, if he wants to vie for the Calder (even if it is a battle against Malkin). And right now the Pens are totally ambiguous in whether or not he stays, because of needing to sign a contract for him, and whether or not he'd do better going back to Junior (he's too young for the AHL).
You'd think after the games so far this season it'd be an obvious decision. But you never know.
