What I want to know is how East consistently gets outdrafted. Only exception is 2003, and even then the Western conf has Melo, David West, and Josh Howard. The well known busts usually comes out from the East, and the 2005 draft is probably the most lopsided ever. Drafting Bogut and Marvin Williams ahead of Deron and Chris Paul? Even though no one can truly predict how any of the draftees would turn out, you'd expect the East to be able to start building better teams. From the way it looks, the only team that seem like it can bounce back from mediocrity are the Nets and 76ers, Pacers and Hawks are still a couple of years away, and the other teams need some big time trades to jumpstart for next year.
