When do we play the US?
>> Anonymous
Americunts here we come
>> Anonymous
I remember before the Games started, when I posted a pic of the Boomers and wrote 'brb getting an Olympic medal'

Back then I was just trolling...
>> Anonymous
When did this happen? Srsly. I, as an Ausfag, am happy to see such success, but where the fuck did basketball come from? Ausfags can't jump.
>> Anonymous
I am with above poster
wtf when did australia become good at b-ball
>> Anonymous
There's more: something like 20 Ausfags are playing in the Major League in American baseball, and AFL players play as punters in the NFL cuz Americunts don't know how to kick. We're sneaky bastards like that.
>> Anonymous
Is Lithuania good at basketball or something?
>> Anonymous
>>267991
never really, it's just that noone except the US is any good at it so we're among the worlds best by default.
>> Anonymous
>>268012
Now is this because the USA are brilliant sportsmen at the forefront of fitness, or because the USA play shitty sports that noone gives a shit about?
>> Anonymous
>>268015
In this case it's because you have all the niggers who are any good at it.

I'm expecting lots of showboating in the american side.

I discovered only last night that we even have an ice hockey team. And we're actually a DIVISION I TEAM, which confers half-decentness on the titleholder. How mad is that?
>> Anonymous
>>268130
If Australia is in the first tier of international Ice Hockey than that probably says more bout that standards of international ice hockey than anything else.
>> Anonymous
>>268130
LIES!! as if Aus has an ice hockey team, we hardly have any water, let alone any in a place where it gets cold enough for it to freeze and be think enough to skate on.
>> Anonymous
>>268149
We actually have an ice hokey league if you can believe that. I only found out when I heard that the Brisbane team relocated to the Gold Coast last year.
>> Anonymous

Wait, what?

Seriously?
>> Anonymous
>>268176
srsly. Most of the players are canadians and americans from what i can tell.

Question for Ausfags: Why do your national sports teams wear yellow and green?

I know the Netherlands wear Orange and the Italians wear blue because it has something to do with the monarchy back in the day but I've never heard why the Aussies wear colors not on their flag. Anybody know the answer to this?

This is a 100% real pic. Not shooped at all. The Gold Coast has an ice hockey team.

red/white/blue are pretty boring tbh. I'm glad we've got something different.

It's really because we hate our flag.
>> Anonymous

I much prefer the boxing kangaroo as a national flag, Union Jack and the Southern Cross is boring.

>>268245
As for sporting events, theres already way too many countries using white/blue/red.

I think most aussies would still like to keep the flag as it is even if we eventually become a republic.
>> Anonymous
>>268251
The current flag is by no means great but it's sure as fuck better than that.
>> Anonymous
>>I think most aussies would still like to keep the flag as it is even if we eventually become a republic.

through 90 per cent of us being totally ambivalent about the matter, not 51 per cent of us liking the thing
>> Anonymous

The flag won't be replaced simply because there's no decent alternative.

We already have a perfectly good, stunningly original and distinctive flag

The flag posted in this thread is a bad version of it, the versions I recall seeing at the cricket during the 90s had a much better colour combination.

What's wrong with the Eureka flag? It's a completely indigenous expression of Australian democracy, it embodies the number one national value of fairness and being given a fair go, and it's aesthetically brilliant. It also has a political support a lot wider than you'd think (unions lol).

The abo tricolour and the Eureka are the best two flags we have bar none. The blue ensign is horrible; the foremost example of a flag designed by a committee and compromised by political inteference.>>268282
>> Anonymous
>>268286
Yeah I know what it looked like. You've just got to remember it's a national flag, and most of the time it'd be used at formal international gatherings, not at sporting events.

When we hand the country back to the natives.

>>268295The blue ensign is horrible; the foremost example of a flag designed by a committee and compromised by political inteference

Except that it was designed by a little girl, who entered and won the competition to design a new Australian flag. There was no committee/political agendas screwing around with it.

Kicking arse is very important to them. Look at the national flag!

So who chose who won the competition? Thought so.
>> Anonymous
Wait,

So what is this about Ozzie flags?
>> Anonymous
>>268300

It was a bastardised amalgamation of about several top entries

It's outdated; to not change it on becoming a republic would be criminal, but it won't be touched with a fifty foot pole because everyone knows what the Opposition will do

I can't resist swirly colours.
