Some do care, and make do with what they have.
Marlins won the series, traded off the good players, few years later, won it again, and traded those good players off. Josh Beckett won a rin in Boston, Hanley Ramirez will win a ring in Florida.
Doesn't mean it WILL happen, but it stands a good chance. Yanks just havent taken pride in their pitching staff in about a decade. They've signed all the good bats, hoping they could drive in enough runs to support a shoddy pitching staff. That doesn't work in baseball, and you're seeing it now.
Also, having some of the best hitters in baseball out with injuries sucks.
