We're trying to do passes instead of shooting. Fluery is obviously horrid at rebounds and puck handling. If only they'd just shoot.

False.

>>98747

Have you seen the horrible rebounds that excuse for a goalie gives up? The horrible puck handling where we should have scored on. If they shoot it on him or make him go out to get it we have more chances to score. It's that simple.

Pens arn't good. Being down 2 defenseman, one of them being one of the best in the league, doesn't help our cause either. Rookies are killing us, we have a guy who is only playing his 2nd game in the playoffs. Who made a mistake and cost a goale and let's not even talk about Downie.

I would be surprised if he even gets a sweater for the next game. You can let one mistake go by but having the same thing happen again is not acceptable.

But every Flyers fan should realise that this was going to happen. What usually happens when the Flyers actually get somewhere in the playoffs? Defenseman get injured or someone big gets a concussion. This causes us to just lose it big time, the chemistry is fucked up and we just go to hell.

What's all this shit about oh baw we're just not shooting enough... 28 shots game 1, 32 game 2 for the flyers. So shut the fuck up about if we'd shoot more we'd win. You did shoot more before and you still fucking lost.
>> Anonymous
>>98767

Yes Lidstrom is another good Defenseman in the league as well. One of the best there is.

Also the 2 defensemen we lost were leading the league in ice time for defenseman which is a big blow. Also Hatcher who is still dealing with bum ankle and that recently healed broken leg played for 28-29 minutes last game.

Our defense is pressed to exhausting and having to pull from rookies, so it's not a surprise we're losing. With the way league has totally obliterated anything that helped defense in the past and with all the new rulings where they want all the stars to be able to skate without any hindrance it's just taking it's toll. Flyers are a team that rely on physical defense, always have, and that's killing them cause of Bettman. Inopportune penalities and just rediculous calls being made are proof that, along with some uncalled shenanigans.

For example Briere getting checked into the back of the Pen's goal when the puck is above the face-off circle and the elbow to his face.

But oh well, it'll be nice to see a 4-0 Detroit sweeps Pens in the upcoming weeks.

Just glad we got this far after such a bad year.

Injuries yet again. Next year. Great experience for the youngins, and Gagne should be back healthy. Great experience for the youngsters though. They've showed a lot of heart. Coburn, Jones, and Umberger all picked it up. Interesting to see if we resign Carter though. He played great all through the playoffs, and it would be a shame to let him go
>> Anonymous
>>98787

No it has to do with the Flyers actually having to fight their way to the Finals while the Pens got the easy ass Sens and Rangers to go against to get to the Finals.

Also our defensemen lay their bodies on the line and you see what happens. Blocked shot in Game 4 from Timmonen causes complications and he plays through Game 5, which could've made him lose hit foot if he took a hard hit to that same ankle.

Coburns was just a fluke and an accident. There are no curses and it's childish to believe that. You win some and you lose some. And apparently we're losing them with a severe loss of personnel.

There's always next year and the world hockey tournament to deal with. I just hope Crosby/Malkin/Hossa doesn't get too butthurt when Osgood takes them with the butt of his stick.
>> Anonymous
>>98792

Yes, they need Carter to stay, such an amazing guy and extremely fast with good stick handling.

I personally think they should drop Briere, I've never liked him and he's certainly not worth the money. Either that or he needs to pull something out of his ass in the next game to show that he's still able to do something.

Being harrased isn't helping him but I think they should break that line up, it's run out of steam.

I can't believe all the excuses that come from the Cryers. It's as if they can't accept the fact that they're being out-played, out-coached and out-skilled.

I'm sorry, but another defenseman doesn't mean SHIT when your fucking team can't score goals. Five goals in three games?

I'm SICK of the "bawwwwwwww we lost our defensemen" excuse. It worked for one game, now its just pathetic.

>> Anonymous
>>98965
I bet it had nothing to do with them filing for bankruptcy and having to get Mario to bail them out, that they didn't have the talent to win many games.

Did they blow some on purpose towards the end? A lot of teams that look to get on the rebound with draft picks do.

They drafted Marc-Andre Fluery(1st overall), Malkin (2nd overall), and Crosby (1st overall), but I guess they were blowing games every season, ya know when Crosby finished 2nd behind Ovechkin as rookie of the year, and when Malkin got it the next year.

I hear a lot of bawwwwwing from people that don't see the depth of the Pens, and think it's all Crosby and Malkin. The truth is, the 4th line of the Pens can rape the 1st line of the Flyers.

That's why they're winning. Not 1 draft pick. Not 2. Not even 3. Who did Philly draft in those years? Someone's grandmother to play goalie, and you got stuck with Biron. Quit crying, and hope most of your players come back next year.

If they don't, you might wanna have them throw the season, so you can rebuild. I hear the Eagles are good at doing that, as well as the 76ers.

Then when they went into the playoffs they cooled off, and Prive proved he couldnt handle it this year. Everyone was hyping that the Habs were going to sweep the Bruins and that game went to seven. Then they play the Flyers, whom are a good team, but you figure a 1 seed is better, and they got crushed. Flyers have been doing that to faster, finesse teams. They're trying to clog passing lanes. You'll notice that some of Pittsburgh's best shots are coming from a player that's looking for a pass, but then walks in to take a shot almost uncontested.

It doesn't help that Philadelphia just isn't moving the puck up-ice quickly enough to avoid the few Penguins that can backcheck.

What is all this talk about the Flyers not being able to score? They were 6th overall for goals for during the regular season. They came back this year and made it to the eastern finals despite losing well over 300 man games due to injury this season. Congrats penguins on beating an injury ridden team, but wait until next year when everyone is healthy, and Van Riemsdyk may also be ready to go.
