The Gretzky Effect

Admit it, thanks to Wayne Gretzky's masterful handling of the puck, he made second-shift scrubs into scoring machines (examples of such would be, but not limited to: Jari Kurri, Tomas Sandstrom, Esa Tikkanen, Luc Robitaille).

What other centers (LOL Crosby), thanks to their godlike puckhandling and playmaking, are known for the "Gretzky effect"?

HOLD UP MOTHER FUCKER

Jari Kurri was an excellent player.

Esa Tikkanen was not a great player but was far from a fourth-line scrub.

Luc Robitaille was soft as hell but was an exceptional stick handler with a terrific shot.

Tomas Sandstrom, however, was garbage and a complete loser.

The fact that Paul Coffey scored 48 goals as a defenseman is all you need to know about how much of a god Gretzky was in his prime.
