Favre is coming back and he's leading the Packers to the Superbowl!

Pakcersfag here.

I think Rodgers can get the Packers to a possible wildcard in his first year. The team is still young, so I'm not going to count them out for this year or the year after.

At a minimum, 8-8. I'm thinking playoff spot though. It'll be a wildcard game, and they'll either lose, or lose the following game.

By Throwball do you mean Baseball? Because then I agree with you.

Wow what the hell is wrong with most of you? The Packers are not a playoff team. They just are not. They probably wont even be at .500 by the end of the year. They have a nice pass rush and that should win tem maybe 5 games. That's it.

"Rookie" QB doesn't have a proven running game to lean on like Rivers did in San Diego.

Or Alex Smith in San Francisco. And Alex Smith still sucks.

It's going to be a bumpy season Packersfags, strap in. They'll be a lot of good Aaron / bad Aaron this season. You should beat Chicago to that last wildcard because overall you've got a better team.

8-8 or 9-7 could probably win them their fucking division with all the shitty teams there. After that...its any given sunday, look at the giants.

Green Bay = bad
Chicago = bad and getting worse
Detroit = lol

this is why Minnesota has an easy road to the playoffs, and even maybe a first round bye.

haha trippackfag, not happening. They're going to suck shit for a few years after losing Favre.

Now if Favre comes back a third of the way through the season, all bets are off.

Rodgers may be unproven, but he has one of the best receiving corps in the league. You have a vetrean Driver, an excellent Jennings, and a young solid 3rd option in Jones. You have an up and coming running back in Grant. You have KGB and Kampman as your defensive linemen. You have Hawk and Barnett as your linebackers. You have Tauscher and Clifton as your tackles. You have physical corners in Harris and Woodson. You have MOTHERFUCKING ATARI BIGBY.

The Packers have more than enough playmakers to be a force in the NFC, and way more than enough to win the otherwise pathetic NFC North. The Lions? Ha! Let me know if Barry Sanders comes out of retirement, maybe then they'll finish 8-8. The Bears? Please! Rex Grossman couldn't throw his way out of a wet paper bag. He'd be better of stocking groceries with Kurt Warner. The Vikings?

Well...Adrian Peterson just tripped on a pebble. He's going to have knee surgery and will be out for the year. Good luck with Tavaris Jackson.

Woodson is mah favorite player in the league but damn he and harris got shredded by bigger more physical receivers last year

Considering some of the shots AD took last year, he's pretty durable. Players get injured falling awkwardly, it happens all the time. He has yet to suffer an injury that has any lasting effects, however. He played through the majority of the season and finished just outside the rushing title despite not starting alot of the year and missing a couple of games. But if it makes you feel better, pretend he is fragile. If I had to imagine AD scorching MY team's porous run D, I think I would concoct a fantasy about him being frail too.

Rodgers is unproven, and if he is just average Ryan Grant will get shut the fuck down. The mediocre-at-best Pack D will not have the benefit of a good O to keep them off the field, those old corners are going to get worn down and those safeties that no other NFL team would consider starting are going to be made to look foolish. This just looks like an awful, awful season for the Packers. 7-9 in the North is what I see happening, and I think it's very possible they are worse than that.

>he's pretty durable

except in college. and in the pros. but other than that, sure, he's a rock.
>> Anonymous
>>195026
The problem is his running style. He takes a ton of hits.

In college, one injury was a moderate injury that lasted a few weeks and the other one was a collarbone injury from an unnecessary dive into the end zone. But he is no more likely to get a collarbone injury than he was before. Even his injury last year was minor. He missed two games in the middle of the NFL season. It happens to tons of players, and the vast majority of them haven't been tagged as "injury prone".

With Favre, they're a playoff team and a possible contender for a super bowl

Without Favre, it's completely up in the air.

This post. Exactly what I would have said. Very realistic too, since I think 12 is too many to predict for a team that has a change at Quarterback.

Ryan Grant
Charles Woodson
Al Harris
Donald Driver
Greg Jennings
Nick Barnett
AJ Hawk
Aaron Kampman
Mark Tauscher
Chad Clifton
Nick Collins

All of the above are possible pro-bowlers. Not to mention guys like Atari Bigby, James Jones, Brady Poppinga and Cullen Jenkins who are just below that level. The Packers are still a great team even without Favre. I love Brett, but don't forget that he cost us the Dallas game, the first Bears game, and the NFC Championship.

This team could still easily go 12-4 or 13-3, win the NFC North and get to the Super Bowl. The Bears did it two years ago with Rax Grissman as their starting QB, and no one is saying Rodgers is that bad. He's actually been rather impressive so far in Training camp.

And Rodgers looked damn good stepping in for Favre in the Dallas game. The guy knows how to run that offense (he fucking better, after holding that clipboard so long), and I don't think he's going to the the "fuck it, I can thread that needle" chuck like Favre always did.

On the other hand, if you look at him wrong he gets injured.

Rodgers: QUESTIONABLE (hurt feelings)

I wouldn't put too much stock in one game. It's a whole new ballgame when a guy is the full time starter and he's taking punishment all year long, teams know who to scout long in advance, etc. He could do an admirable job taking over for Favre, but I think the smart money would be on him having nothing more than an average year.

If Tavaris Jackson trips over a pebble and gets hurt, maybe we will get Gus Frerotte to come in and just not screw stuff up. I'd rather have Frerotte's 18 TD/12 INT than Jackson's wild inconsistency
