I've heard the Chinese anthem so many times these past weeks that I think its a great tune. I hum it when bored.

Anyway did you see Jackie Chan in the closing ceremony?

Did you see how MASSIVE his hands are?

You know what they say about men with big hands...

yeah, it was great because it's like the nbc camera guys didn't even know he was there. They were just moving around filming the singers and SURPRISE there he was.

Lol, nobody cared about the shitty Olympics. Look at the ratings I'd be surprised if it got more than 4-5 million views, while the Super Bowl gets 100 million plus. Try to top that China lol.

>Amounting to almost two thirds of the world’s population, the 4.4 billion viewers who accessed television coverage of the Beijing Olympics have now officially ‘out-viewed’ the 3.9 billion who followed the Athens 2004 Games and the 3.6 billion who tuned in to Sydney 20002 - in only the first 10 days of the Games’ coverage.

Being fair though, people come in here and proclaim that the World Cup or the Superbowl are the worlds most watched sporting events, yet they have no idea what the Olympics rake in.
>> Anonymous
I would successfultroll.jpg, but this guy might actually be retarded enough to think a multi-week international sporting phenomenon every 4 years would be 2 orders of magnitude less popular than the Super Padball Championships.
>> Anonymous
Look you idiots the only reason the Olympic has alot of viewsers is because in China there's nothing else to watch. In America every place I go to never showed the Olympic, every restuarant, bar and Fast food place I go to there's always either Baseball or Poker on the TV.

yes because the US and China are the only countries that have TV's.

Even if you took away the population of China (1,321,851,888 - 2007 est) from the estimated viewers, it would still be the most watched sporting event on Television.

>>297317

Why isn't Football the most watched sporting event? I mean the ad revenue alone is probably more than what China made in the Olympics.
>> Anonymous
>>297331

China didn't make any money off the Olympics, in fact they lost billions upon billions of dollars hosting the Olympic. However sports shouldn't be about money it should be about how one country can dominate another.

because Chinese people don't play football, they play basketball

Arise! All who refuse to be slaves!
Let our flesh and blood become our new Great Wall!
As the Chinese nation faces its greatest peril,
All forcefully expend their last cries.
Arise! Arise! Arise!
Our million hearts beat as one,
Brave the enemy's fire, March on!
Brave the enemy's fire, March on!
March on! March on! On!

those viewerships dont count the online ones right? Just the tv ratings? I could imagine the online broadcasts drew in a lot of people

The Chinese national anthem is okay I guess. Nothing will ever beat Russia's (they brought back the old one from the Soviet Union except removed all mentions of Stalin, because the new Russian one sucked so much and nobody liked it).

China's military anthem is way cooler
