I don't have the exact numbers, but I heard on the radio that Alabama had played something like 65 true freshman during this year, making them the youngest division 1 team. I also heard they've only used 8 senior scholarship players, making them like 100th in player seniority.

They've reached their #1 ranking with kids. Does this mean Saban is really a good coach, or that the kids are really good or what?

I could have sworn that was Florida or Washington...

Oh well, the talent is pretty good. If you give Saban talent, he'll run with it.

dont worry....you'll lose to Auburn in the Iron Bowl...and much lulz will be had

Very true, I hope someone will be able to pick up and execute close to the level that JPW is at right now.

"I guess I have to say it," Saban said. "I'm not going to be the Alabama coach."

Holy fuk, i didn't realize JPW was 23. How did that happen?

Same way Jacob Hester was like 25 when he left LSU

Soonerfag here

We were so close to pulling Julio Jones away from 'Bama, and now that looms large as they hold the advantage over us. I honestly don't think they would be #1 right now without him.

Alabama is going to be great for years to come, and I'd much rather them be at the top than trash like LSU or Florida.

The butthurt is strong in this one

not really butthurt. Julio Jones is a tremendous talent and gives them a dynamic receiver in a corps that would otherwise be lacking it. If they didn't have him, their offense would probably be sputtering, but they have him and as such it isn't. I'm happy that if we had to lose Julio to somebody, it was at least Alabama.

Redshirt his first year where he turned 19 on October 17. 4 years later during his senior season makes him 23, not really unusual.

Eh, he's doing absolutely great now, but you apparently haven't seen Coffee's rushing etc. It's also nice to see great talent stay in the state to play college football.

>They've reached their #1 ranking with a win over a vastly overrated Clemson team.
