>The Los Angeles Clippers today acquired forward Marcus Camby from the Denver Nuggets. In return, Denver will have the option to exchange second round picks with the Clippers in 2010.

What the hell kind of trade is that?
>> Anonymous
I was so fuckin pissed when I heard we traded Camby for essentially nothing. They're probably just clearin cap room for a big trade, or re-signin JR Smith. Najera wasn't a big loss but he provided great hustle on the floor and was a good defender. Camby's defense has always been overrated and he goes missing way too often. K-Mart is easily our best defender.

the 'Enver Nuggets had a defense to begin with?

Btw what about Melo guys? Any news on where he's going?
>> Anonymous
can someone cap this?
>> Anonymous

When guys are opting for the CLIPPERS over the Nuggets, you know your franchise is fucking dead. FUCKING DEAD, DENVER.

The Nuggets are the damn Kansas City Royals of the NBA.
>> Anonymous
>>217909

camby's back there cleaning up after all those mistakes by a.i. and j.r. smith. you'll miss him more than you think.
>> Clay Bennett
>>217962
I'm not sure there's enough NBA fans in Denver to notice.

In fact, can I buy the Nuggets? I'll totally refurbish their current stadium, and go out of my way to keep them in Denver. I swear.
>> Anonymous
For all of the retards that don't quite comprehend the Camby trade, the Denver Nuggets owner was going to have to pay an extra 10 million this year in luxury tax for a team that can't even win a playoff game. They were desperate to dump some salary, and Camby was clearly the only player worth anyone would take off their hands that Nugget's weren't too attached to. The Nuggets basically save 40 million (double Camby's regular salary due to luxury tax) over the next two years by making this move, so it isn't as stupid as you might think.
>> Anonymous
>>217983
Whereas that is a very thoughful, intelligent argument, the fact remains that the LA Clippers are the MS Word Clipboard of the NBA.

Camby will be pasted somewhere relevant after a few years in RAM. If that makes any sense at all.
>> Anonymous
>>217962

I didn't say he was worthless, just not as good as everyone thinks. Nene And K-Mart will healthy and I'm sure we'll pick up another center.
>> Anonymous
>>217983
Why? Why not send him on the market for better offers? Why get two second round picks? And without any warnings at that
>> Anonymous
>>217987
>just not as good

Oh you've got to be kidding me. So who's good? Bynum?
>> Anonymous
>>217988
There weren't a lot of people who had significant cap space to negotiate. The Clippers were pretty much the only team willing to take on a contract to fill a hole in their front court while being able to provide the instant salary relief for the Nuggets by not having to send back any players in return (due to their cap space). If you're looking to simply dump a contract, you shouldn't be asking for anything good in return. See: Suns last year when they dumped Kurt Thomas AND 1st round draft picks for nothing to the Sonics.

>>217987

k-mart and nene will still be there, i can't argue with that. but staying healthy, i'm not so sure. these two plus camby have all had significant health issues. but hey, they're a lot younger than camby, so we'll see.

it's just annoying that they had to resort to a straight salary dump. they could go the golden state route, just try to improve on what they already have instead of trying to shore up their deficiencies.
>> Anonymous
>>217908
It is called a cap dump
>> Anonymous
They should have gotten rid of K-mart instead, it would have been a better pick for the Clippers anyways. Seriously.

>>217801
Word is he's going to the pistons for Billups and Prince.

That means two franchises are going to get worse than they were before the trade
>> Anonymous
>>218091
You're crazy if you think that deal will actually happen, they're more likely to let A.I. go when his deal is gone in like '10 and try to build around Anthony, Nene [if he stays healthy], and Kleiza [eh].

Assuming they did make the trade though, they still have Sheed, Rip, Stuckey, Maxiell, McDyess. Afflalo could be good too. But NOW they have a guy who can take over a game instead of a handful of 15-20 point inconsistent scorers. I admit that Anthony is a pretty big x-factor in he can actually lead a team to a W like that in a big game. But he is a really great talent, and guys like him have gotten it together before. I think Detroit is crazy to not try and make this trade, and Denver would be very stupid to do it.

Man, this team is serious.
>> Anonymous
>>218089

Although Camby is overrated he's still a decent player, Kenyon? His health is even more questionable, he can only score from alley oop about two times a game, and while he's a good man to man defender no one will take on his max contract that goes to 2011.
>> Anonymous
>>218091
I'd do it for Billups and Dyess. Prince is good. Granted he plays the same position...but....nevermund
>> Anonymous
>>218687

The whole point of the trade would be to land Prince. Billups is just fluff.

Theres no way they would take McDyess back, his legs could fall off any minute. Detroit just has godly luck with him being able to stand for 20 minutes a game.

Ugh, it hurts so much to think of how good the Pistons could've been in the long run after they won the title.

Ben Wallace
Tayshaun Prince
Chris Bosh
Hamilton
Billups

If only we didn't squander that pick on Darko. Now were sitting here thinking about trading half the key starters? Fuck Joe Dumars.

Not that the Melo trade would ever go down, Denver already assured Melo he wont be traded.
>> Anonymous
>>218696

Brand would've never went to Philly if AI was still there. Outside of Philly probably not being able to afford that contract plus Iversons, there just isnt enough ball time to go around for 3 offensive forces (Iguodala, Iverson, Brand)
>> Anonymous
>>218707

how dare you use logic.
>> Anonymous
they going everywheres. there are only two teams who can accept luxury taxes in basketballs. Lakers & Knicks, and they are fail. My one question, why does denver pay so much for lottery yr after yr. ??

BTW Marcus Camby is the opposite of a replacement for Elton Brand. It just means this gay team has old Chris Kaman, in addition to younf Chris Kaman.

man, darko was bad, i know, but i really dont htink melo woulda worked out.....or wade.....i know im crazy, we need a team, no another lebron and crew (we got enough of that shit already)

well, lebron was not on the table. detroit had 'melo or D-Wade available. Did NOT PICK. could have picked, but evidently Dumars is super smart... If so why haven't they won a championship after that draft? I understand nigger reporters want to prop him up for Tavis Smiley and Rodney Stuckey and TayShaun. He ain't won shit yrs.

Could've released Kenyon, that guy is pretty much useless now
