>> Anonymous
>>460404

something should be said for a team that doesnt when their conference, let alone their division. not saying this is how it will happen, but in 2001 colorado (with 1 loss) beat #1 nebraska to play in the big 12 chamionship. they then went and beat texas (who i believe was projected to go to the national championship after nebraska lost) but out of the BS C, nebraska, who didnt even win the big 12 north, went to play for the NC.....let us hope this doesnt happen again

or what if Florida wins the SEC champ game against Alabama and Mizzou beats OK/TX/TT in the Big 12 game.

Florida and Alabama would be 1-2 in the BCS likely based on strength of schedule.

this is what is wrong with the bcs....if a team doesnt win their DIVISION, not even conference, they still have a chance to play for the national championship, its bullshit
>> Anonymous
>>460431

I don't see a problem with 2 teams from the same conference playing in the NC. If its about the 2 best teams in college football then I dont see why the two best teams cant play in the same conference.

>> Anonymous
>>460454

Well, yes, but if its the two absolute best teams then why should the winner go play the 3rd best team in the country just because they are in a different conference. There is a problem when the loser from a conference champ game goes to the national championship game and the winner does not, but I don't see a problem if both the winner and the loser go other than having the same game played twice.

Fucking shit needs a playoff system
>> Anonymous
>>460433if a team doesnt win their DIVISION, not even conference, they still have a chance to play for the national championship

Not really. The pollsters just do what they want in the end anyway, Georgia got jumped by 2 or 3 teams in the final poll last year. Above statement was the main reason why.

question....can Utah and Boise State both recieve BCS berths if they stay undefeated? or will a superior ranked team miss out to an inferior team from a BCS conference (I'm looking at you big east and ACC)
>> SSG Posted Here
IMHO, the ACC, Big 10, Big East and Pac-10 are so terrible this year that the winners of the non-BCS conferences should be automatically put above the winners of those four BCS conferences, because they deserve to play in the BCS bowl games more than teams from those shit conferences.
>> Anonymous
>>461946

"No more than one such team from Conference USA, the Mid-American Conference, the Mountain West Conference, the Sun Belt Conference, and the Western Athletic Conference shall earn an automatic berth in any year. (Note: a second team may be eligible for at-large eligibility as noted below.) If two or more teams from those conferences satisfy the provisions for an automatic berth, then the team with the highest finish in the final BCS Standings will receive the automatic berth, and the remaining team or teams will be considered for at-large selection if it meets the criteria."
