Tomorrow, watch Buffalo play for bowl eligibility. BUFFALO.

And relevance

We'll discuss that again in a couple weeks when 3 MAC teams have 2 losses or less, while the Big East and ACC champs have 3 losses or more.

HMMMMM.

Hey, if Cincinnati got to play OU, Miami and Eastern every week, they'd be 9-1 right now or some shit like that.

>>466145
No, instead they play Syracuse, Rutgers, and Connecticut.

OH WAIT.

Can we all agree the Big East shouldn't be a BCS conference anymore? None of this "they're having a few bad years" bullshit. Out of the three good programs they've sent to the BCS, two are now in the ACC. West Virginia should jump ship and join the Big Ten before the Big East fully descends into oblivion.

West Virginia will never, ever, ever be in the Big Ten.

The Big Ten is more than just an athletic conference, and West Virginia does NOT fit their profile.

Yeah, West Virginia doesn't have any money.

Yeah, WVU actually wins against decent teams

>The Big Ten is more than just an athletic conference
Like it or not...truth. The Big Ten contains the schools that it does because they are all serious research institutes of one form or another (and that includes latecomer Penn State). This is why the University of Chicago is still considered a Big Ten school even though they haven't played in eons. The only major research going on at WVU involves different ways to burn various pieces of furniture and methods in which to more quickly ingest alcohol so one can more quickly forget that he or she is stuck in West Virginia.

By that logic, the ACC whips the shit out of the Big10.

University of Chicago....lol wut?

so its really the big 12? or are there other schools that us plebs are ignorant of?

SECfag here, its cool though....we are a serious ATHLETIC conference, we own....and we have Vandy to bring up our GPA =)
>> Anonymous
>>466863

true....North Carolina, Duke, Virginia, VT (in bf Cho), Boston College, and even schools like Maryland and Clemson.

SEC also has Vandy and Ole Miss, and even schools like Tennessee, Georgia, and LSU that are quality public institutions with solid undergraduate and research programs. Tennessee has top engineering facilities... and with the association of Oak Ridge National Labratory they are leaders in nuclear technology.

its not just all about sports in the SEC =)

UFfag here, we're considered public ivy.

So are a few of the Big10 schools. SEC schools are definitely improving their academics, but please don't assume that's what you're known for at the moment.

No, you're not.

You're a big research university, and that's a great thing, but no school with such an enormous undergraduate enrollment can qualify as a "public Ivy." The schools referred to as "public Ivies" are ones that have been around since 1800 or so, schools like Miami and Ohio.
