I just got this in the mail and tossed it away in a fit of 'RAGE AGAINST THE LARGE MARKET' passion.

Seriously. Fuck you. It's not a fucking CATHEDRAL HURF DURF.

It's a fucking stadium. One with a No-Drinking section.

I'm actually glad the bleachers went no-booze, If I could have sat in the bleachers without a bunch of poor drunken guineas screaming obscenities and starting fights when I was little my dad would have taken me to a lot more games

The new stadium is gonna have a bar in the bleachers though

The stadium in the SI cover is not the stadium that is "gone." That stadium was gone 30 years ago.

People act like the current Yankee Stadium is the same one that Babe Ruth played in. IT'S NOT. It's on the same spot, which is certainly nice, but Yankee Stadium was torn down and rebuilt 30 years ago. IT'S NOT THE SAME FUCKING STADIUM.

holy shit fucking true that

It's a completely different stadium I personally don't give a fuck about it

I do wish they kept the old one however

It's not like they demolished it and built a whole new thing.

It was remodeled, The upped deck was pushed back, and they replaced an assload of things, but it's still partially the same stadium.

>>345787
Are you serious? Rays have nowhere to go but up, with all that young talent.
>> Anonymous
Hearing about how much the Yankees stole money from New York for the new stadium, it makes me hope the Yankees are fucking cursed; they deserve shit.

Also, to remodel Yankee Stadium again would have cost the city, team and league 400 to 600 million dollars; the new stadium cost 1.3 billion dollars. How much does that piss you off? Nothing all the sport fans love would be lost, and it would cost vastly less than the new stadium. So why did they build a new one? Two reasons:
1. The Yankees are worth more with a new stadium and Yankee Stadium then just Yankee Stadium, even remodled.
2. The city wanted new stadiums for the 2012 Olympics, so the city figured "Oh, we will give George Actuallymakesthenazislookrightaboutthejewsbrennar a new stadium that we will use for the Olympics. Then, when New York dropped every torch they could have dropped and got raped by London for the Olympics, they looked stupid for helping pay for a stadium they should have just waited to commit to.

Fuck you George, I hope you get raped and murdered, and the same goes for your retarded kids. You never deserved the Yankees, you never deserved anything, I wish you remained banned from baseball today.....

Home of the Mets, Yankees, Jets, New York United, a relief center for 9/11 victims, the first sporting event in New York after 9/11, the Home Run Apple, 1969, 1973, 1986 and 2000 World Series, 1988, 1999 and 2006 League Championships and one of the most significant concerts in music history: the opener of the Beatles 1965 North American tour.

"always sucked" huh?

They were never going to use New Yankee Stadium for the Olympics.

At first they were going to use the West Side Stadium, which never got built. After that failed, they were going to use CITIFIELD, not New Yankee Stadium,

Get facts straight please.
>> Anonymous
Uh, the stadium was never "torn down" it was completely gutted yes, but they used most of the original structural steel, and most of the exterior was rebuilt from the original materials. The only XBOX HUEG changes were cantilevering the upper deck, and changes to the dimensions.

Say what you want about the Red Sox, but at least Fenway Park doesn't have a fucking Hard Rock Cafe right in it.

There's going to be a House of Blues down the street, apparently, but it's right next to a bunch of colleges, so that's expected.
>> Anonymous
>>346307
No, Fenway has an Salmonella Café.

Hay Yankeefags, I don't know if you know this but "New Yankee Stadium" will be using a "Personal Seat License (PSL) Scheme) next year! Meaning not only do you have to pay the ticket price for your seats, but you also have to pay for the right to pay for season tickets. This means that season tickets that normally sell for around $80 this season, will cost in the area of $300-$400 per game next season.

Same goes for you Metsfags. And Giantsfag (NFL).

Cngratufuckinglations Jew York sports area fans.

Do you have any grasp on HOW FAR AWAY THOSE PLACES ARE? And unless you live in the northern portion of NY, why not just make the trek into the Bronx? Or if you're on LI go into Queens. But then you'd have to deal with the failpen.

Well, here's the thing. It is a famous stadium. It is a big deal that it's going away. It's kind of like if Lambeau Field went away. I'm not a Green Bay Packer fan but I would be sad if the stadium was no more.
