The first line of Jemele HIll's ESPN.com article showed promise: "I thought it wouldn't bother me. I thought I would be OK. Turns out, I was as wrong as Skip Bayless." But somewhere down the line, she lost her way. A reader tipped us off that in Hill's anti-Celtics screed, she used a line that likened rooting for the Celtics to both the Holocaust and the Cold War.And at least for a while, the ESPN editors allowed it on the website.Rooting for the Celtics is like saying Hitler was a victim. It's like hoping Gorbachev would get to the blinking red button before Reagan.Oh, don't bother Command+F looking for it in her article, the editors have, you could say, taken it out of commission like Archduke Ferdinand. Even the Google cache of Hill's article has already been Norby'd, so there's no chance of seeing where in the story it was mentioned, or what other dark moments in history are like cheering for the Celtics. Now I just recently laughed pretty hard at the Paul Pierce stabbing joke a couple posts ago and yet I think comparisons to Hitler are virtually off limits. Then again, ESPN editors also left the comparison to Skip Bayless in there, and that might be an even worse Godwin.
Admidting that you were as wrong as Skip Bayless takes gigantic balls. And stay classy Jemele for finding connections between Cold War Russia, Hitler and the Boston Celtics.
Anyone have the whole article?
Jemele took a stab at Skip? Wow, I thought she was one of the few reporters that liked him...
Jemele Hill gets mega points in my book for this, I do think she does a good job filling in on JRIB
>>164326There is nobody on the face of the earth that actually LIKES Skip. You either tolerate him or loathe him.

After reading the story, I see what she was trying to do but still that's retarded.
