lol in b4 tim couch (who wasn't a bust, I think he was a pretty serviceable QB who had absolutely NO talent at HB and OL for the vast majority of his career).

cedric benson

bears first round draft pick
3.7 yards/carry
worst in 2007 season

earning about 13,000 dollars per yard
injury prone and unmaneuverable

This draft is epic deep at RB. I'm betting the bears trade picks with the pats to grab Ryan or one of the tackles, and grab a second or third round RB (read Mike Hart/Kevin Smith/Ray Rice).
>> Anonymous
>>70800
Considering he was taken with a supplemental draft pick, he wasn't that big of a "bust". He never lived up to the hype because he stopped taking steroids in the NFL, but he really had a decent career outside of a certain running back plowing over him.

along with a majority of the Bull's past top picks

Two words, no picture- Bo Kimble. Also, Michael Olowakandi. (which is funniest, cause he sucked , got drafted #1, and some other team was so fucking stupid to give him his next contract.)

Michael Jordan is the worst GM/ex in all pro sports working today.

He built the Wizards from laughing stock to a playoff team. People are too eager to see results in the first two years.

his $10m+ a year contract will laugh at you. Just because he isn't Dwight Howard doesn't mean he is a bust.

you can haz mad mike milbury and/or isiah zeke thomas

Michael Olowokandi. If you can find a worse #1 pick overall that has less actual skill AND potential, you win 1 million internets.

In the 2004 Draft, the #1 pick was a toss up between Dwight and Emeka. Both players were said to make a big impact on their franchises and were going to be big stars. Fast forward 4 years: Howard finished with a 50 win season, led the league in Rebounds and is a shoe-in for NBA First Team. Okafor on the other hand is an OK player on a less than OK team which would be no-where if not for Richardson and Wallace.
>> Anonymous
>>71358
Ok, so the bobcats had the #2 pick that draft and Dwight Howard was already taken, so they took the second best person in the draft, name me someone better then Emeka Okafor in that draft, besides Howard.

http://hoopedia.nba.com/index.php/NBA_Draft_2004

Link to the people drafted, Ben Gordon? A bench player, oh how about Shaun Livingston? hes missing a knee cap.

Emeka is forced to play center most of the time, which is not the pos, he was drafted to play, which has been the Bobcats problem, as they have been horriable when it comes to the draft. Look at what Shaq did for Amarae, if Cha had a dominant center, he would break out and be an allstar.

We've had other picks I would consider far more a bust. I.E Morrission

Lets go Chicago!

Bears:
Cederic Benson
Rex Grossman
Rashaan Sallaamm
Cade McNown

Blackhawks:
Tuomo Ruutu
Mark Bell
Sergei Krivokrasov

Bulls:
Ron Artest
Eddy Curry
Jay Williams
(all 3 busts due to OFF court shenanigans)

Cubs:
Cory Patterson
Jeff Samardja(shoulda stayed in football, son)

White Sox:
who cares

Fire:
who cares

>Jay Williams

I wouldn't really call it shenanigans since he got into a motorcycle accident.
>> Anonymous
>>71482
yeah I always felt the same way about Okafur. He's a workhorse that plays good defense, and takes care of the paint. His offensive game will never flourish unless he gets some help.

Dummy Darko.
The Pistons took him instead of Carmelo in 03. He never left the bench unless they had insurmountable leads.

Darko was a GREAT pick, people need to get off Joe D's jock for that. Why? If they pick 'Melo, they don't make the trade for Sheed, they reply on 'Melo putting up 40 shots a night, never gel as a unit, never win the title.

Darko is EFG, he failed so hard, the Pistons won.
>> Heynonnynonnymous
>>72795

What also bears pointing out is that the Pistons still won that title despite passing over Carmelo.

And out of curiosity, how many titles does Carmelo have right now? Besides that recent drunk and disorderly?

We traded Dirk for a 400lb criminal who couldn't even run down the court without getting oxygen afterwards. After Sam Bowie this was the worst draft/trade/bust EVER in the NBA.
>> Anonymous
>>73169
To be fair Don Nelson wanted Dirk to turn him into the shooting point forward he is today. If Dirk went to the bucks, he probably wouldn't have become the player he is now.

He was actually the 7th pick overall...

The sad part is if he wore his seatbelt, he probably would've became one of the better PGs in the league. I mean he could shoot the rock at a pretty high % and could dish it out. His defense might've been a little suspect, but it wouldn't be any worse than any of the PGs Sacramento got after him (Tyus Edney, Jason Williams, or Mike Bibby). If he was able to stay healthy, I think he could've been a Steve Nash type PG, but no...instead he became a huge draft bust for us...especially since Allan Houston, Sam Cassell and Nick Van Exel got picked after him, all of whom made made All-Star at some point in their career.

the 2000 nba draft, never seen so many failures in my life
>> Anonymous
Sean May has been a huge bust IMO. Kid can play when he's healthy but he's never healthy. Okafur is def. not a bust, but the coaching staff has been for the cats.
