There is no denying that K-Rod is one of the best closers in the game, but is all the hype and the Cy Young talk warranted?
K-Rod 2.38 ERA, 1.27 WHIP
2.11 ERA, 0.92 WHIP - Jonathan Papelbon 1.68 ERA, 0.84 WHIP - Joakim Soria 1.47 ERA, 0.96 WHIP - Joe Nathan 0.50 ERA, 1.04 WHIP - He hasn't been closing all season, but Brad Ziegler's given up THREE EARNED RUNS in 54 IP. 1.58 ERA, 0.92 WHIP - No more than a part-time closer, but Grant Balfour's had a hell of a rebounding year... 2.36 ERA, 1.17 WHIP - ...As has teammate J.P. Howell. Bear in mind that these numbers are over 84 IP. 1.78 ERA, 1.15 WHIP - Attentionless Scott Downs of the Blue Jays. 70.2 IP for him. 1.33 ERA, 1.02 WHIP - K-Rod's arguably not even the best reliever on his own team: where's the love for Jose Arredondo?
And oh yeah, Rivera has a .69 WHIP.

Even if K-Rod goes to the Yankees this offseason, the Angels are gonna just use Arredondo as a closer. Note that not all these are closer stats, but they all have decent IP.
