I'd hit it

Anyway it's a risky choice but the guys ego is so fucking huge he couldn't bare to fail. I just hope being captain won't rape his batting average, like it did to Vaughans...

i dont think its gonna work

the other day when he tried to hit a six to get to 100 and failed showed his immaturity.

yes but i'd rather see players attempt exciting cricket, than uber conservative cricket. my choice would have been one of the longer serving players, who might not be so impulsive.

exciting cricket doesnt win games

save that for the 20/20

i can see your point but could you not say that explosive players like KP and Freddy are game winners with the bat, and at their best they are exciting to watch.

Yeah i'm really not sure how this is going to pan out. But then, it's not like there's a long line of candidates for the job. Flintoff and Strauss both have age/experience, but they've also both tried and failed at captaincy. Cook and Bell are pretty sure to be in the side for a good while more, but they're in KP's age bracket and he's the most reasonable choice of the three i guess. Ambrose is new and there's no telling how long he'll last. That just leaves the bowlers, who are all relatively new to the team and there's some heavy rotation there anyway.

So yeah, let's just hope that his batting doesn't suffer.

Strauss didn't fail. He captained the side to a win over Pakistan but was then replaced by Flintoff for that shameful Ashes tour...

slightly off topic but does anyone else think that twenty/20 would be perfect for america? fast paced, high scores, always a winner/loser, easy for advertising (between overs) and relatively uncomplicated laws.

just a thought.

wasnt that the peddelo incident?

right, my bad. I thought I remembered Flintoff still being injured for the Ashes.

Then i kinda think Strauss would have been a better choice than KP. Maybe a bit weakened since he was just recently dropped, but still...a minor captaincy-induced batting slump from him would hurt the team less than a slump from KP.
