Kyle Brady? Really? Was he the one who was awesome on special teams, was a WR?
>> Anonymous
>>22857

Nah that was Kelley Washington. Didn't do anything as a WR but was a special teams BEAST. Great re-sign.

Kyle Brady was the white TE, who was known as a great blocking TE before and throughout the season. But fucking sucked in the Super Bowl.

Oh few. Sorry, I wasn't thinking.

Out of our free agents remaining Moss and Gaffney are the biggest priorities for me.

I really just want to completely revamp our secondary. Lito Sheppard and Deanglo Hall both want out of their respective teams – I’d like one of them.

And yes Adam Pacman Jones will be going for no more then a 6th round pick this year. When bringing this up people think I’m insane because of his ridiculous off the field issues – but the guy is a 24 Pro Bowl cornerback and a return phenom. The skills are a god damn no brainer, just have to keep the guy out of strip clubs and wrestling events.

Idiots trolling these boards, tisk tisk. Don't even know how to define "bandwagon".

I bought a Giants jersey after super bowl, and I'm a Bengals fan. I only bought it because every time I see it, it reminds me that the Pats didn't go 19-0, which instantly makes me feel better. Now all I need is for the Yankees to eliminate the Sox in the playoffs, and the Celtics to lose in round 1. Fuck Boston.

On March 2, 2008, Rumors were amid that infact the New England Patriots were not instrested in brining back Randy Moss because they were engaged in trade talks with the Cincinnati Bengals about a trade for Chad Johnson. The early reports from the AP say the Pats will give up a 2nd and 3rd round pick from this upcoming draft and a 2nd round pick in 09' to aquire the disgruntled Johnson.

I'm sorry, but hasn't Mr. Samuel been an absolute credit to your team and it's stellar defensive play?

Top talent commands top dollar. It's a simple axiom that your organization has failed to realize, which is why the dream team they assembled this past year is disintegrating before your very eyes.

I hope you had fun during Belicheat's run; now, brace for a decade of mediocrity.

>Top talent commands top dollar. It's a simple axiom that your organization has failed to realize.

Overpaying free agents =/= Championships

Team falling apart? We lost a WR who had 0 TDs in the last 12 games, a #3 CB and a good - but overated cornerback.

LOL
>> Anonymous
>>23097

You're a lunatic if you think Samuel was simply a "product of the system"; he was a playmaker, and force that the other team's WR"s had to respect.

Randy Moss isn't coming back; if he wanted to stay, he would have re-signed already. Wes Welker is a great WR, but he's not cut out to be the #1 guy. He's a possession receiver; the sneaky threat who works better as #2 or #3 to a big-play receiver like, say........Randy Moss.

The offense won't be nearly the juggernaut it was last year, and the defense is getting too old to carry the team. THE RUN IS OVER.

>> Anonymous
>>23122
doesn't even make sense, they don't pay anyone.
>> Anonymous
It's very simple what the Patriots are thinking.

Moss with Brady throwing to him is a $10 million player.

Mos with anyone else (excluding Manning and Favre) is a $6 million player.

Gaffney with Brady throwing to him is a $2 million player.

Gaffney with anyone not named Brady throwing to him is hanging out with Reche Caldwell.

And that's exactly what the Patriots braintrust is thinking.
>> Anonymous
>>23124

He's a slot reciever, that's usually what happens...

No one has argued that.
>> Anonymous
>>23129

But if both Moss AND Stallworth leave, that leaves Welker as the #1 WR; a role he's unsuited for. Furthermore, if the Pats weren't willing to hold on to either of the aforementioned big-play receivers, what makes you think they'll pony up for a true replacement?

Report: Patriots near deal with Randy Moss

NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports the Patriots are close to re-signing free agent Randy Moss.

Schefter says the Patriots have a "standing multi-year offer to make Moss one of the highest paid receivers in the NFL." Schefter is almost never wrong, but we keep hearing Moss and the Pats are close and wouldn't count out another team like the Rams, Redskins, or Eagles making a last minute run at him.

i wrote the thing you responded to. those are some good points, but id counter with:
1)defenses that play against that tandem will have alot more tape and all offseason to prepare against it
2)the pats-O figure out a way to beat high pressure Ds, but then they could be trumped by some other type of D
3)they went 18-0 with spygate, i really dont think it affected the lockerroom/performance at all. in fact, id say it galvanized the team to prove they could win without cheating
i doubt theyll go 16-0, because quite a few games last year were won by the defense, which has been decimated by free agency, or is simply getting another year older

Our D-Line is great, Seymour/Wilfork/Warren. No age concern there.

We need one more starting linebacker. Vrabel is coming off a ALL-PRO season, AT is AT and Bruschi led the team in tackles last season. Draft VG with the 7th pick and that's that.

The only thing that needs a lot of attention right now is our secondary. 24 million under the cap + a full draft in front of us, we'll be fine. James Sanders + Merriweather are progressing fine.

Also OLD starters on our defense? Uh Bruschi, and Harrison - that's it. Seau was never supposed to be a starter, he was to split time with Bruschi, but Colvin's injury prevented that. This year will have someone to replace Colvin.

I'm not going to include 32 year old Vrabel (AKA Peyton Mannings age) coming off a fucking All-Pro season.

Two old players on defense =/= old defense
