England vs Germany

I hope we don't get ass raped
>> Anonymous
Britfag here, and i know we're going to get assraped. All of our "good" players are either injured or being pussies, so we're left with our fail side.
>> Britannian Anonymous !4bbKDTSEQc
We are definitely getting raped tonight. I'll watch, but I'm not expecting much. Most of our side has got injuries or don't care and want a break going into the busy Christmas period. Not surprising considering the next international games aren't for 4 months.

Still, the fringe players may be really up for it and try to prove themselves to Capello, and the guy is a great manager and could get something out of them. If we go at Germany hard and fast from the kick-off we may catch them cold and get a good result.
>> Anonymous
Germany aren't putting out their A-team but we'll still lose.

Germans want to make up for being drubbed 5-1 last time around, could turn out to be a fun game

This team makes me sad and depressed! If Ingerland beats us, there will be no shame in it.

If you beat us, no one but the rabid national press here and the eijits that have no true knowledge of football will be ashamed. I certainly won't.

No silly, they'll just find a scapegoat in:

A lack of Beckham.
Capello being Italian
Rooney and Walcott's absence
SAF
Arsene Wenger
Torres, Ronaldo, Robinho, and every other foreign player in the Premier League
Last weeks League Cup fixtures
The breakfast the team had on Monday
and just about anyone and everyone but our beloved English players.
>> Anonymous
Gerrard isn't fucking injured. I doubt Rooney and Ferdinand are either, it's just that Sir Alex is a git and knew he could beat Stoke without playing them. Probably be Defoe and Agbonglahor upfront, who are decent and all but hardly gonna but the fear of God into anyone.

This will be the story in the Times after the defeat today (if we lose that is):
Not enough Englishmen in the Premier league. Not enough Englishmen in the England Squad. Once again it's time for us to bring up that old story that is very much true. Since Benitez and Wenger like Foreign players and not Englishman, when. one good Englishman (Gerrard and Lampard, Rooney, Walcott, etc) is marred by injuries, there is no one to take his place. This results in a lack of quality. That and the fact that Beckham hasn't played regular football in over a month due to the fact that he is in America playing in the MLS means that England had no wingers. Also, the fact that 3 of the big 4 have strikers that are foreigners means that England can't develop good strikers and that's why we never win. This lack of understanding the English game can be seen in the fact that our manager is Italian. England will never win another world cup if we have all these foreigners playing.
>> Anonymous
>>477669

>>477632

Rafa isn't smart enough to pull the "oh he's injured" trick. Despite the fact that the England team doctor is the also Liverpool team doctor...
>> Anonymous
>>477676

the Premier League has a quote of 61% of foreign players.
>> Anonymous
>>477683
yes and? It's a better league because of it. If the english little kids aren't as good as the little kids for portugal, then that's there problem. Perhaps england should have a better developmental program. And besides leagues with a lot of home grown players are shit.
>> Anonymous
>>477684
you only need 30 players for an international squad. If the best of the best of the English players are the ones that make it to the prem, then by all means they will play. Why have a league with 600 englishmen where 550 of them will suck 30 will be mediocre to decent and 20 of them will be exceptionally good?
>> Anonymous
>>477684

maybe it would be better to let some englishmen play football instead buying some french players. But its a lot easier to buy instead to teach.

For example Spain have quote of 31%, and yeah the national plays decent.
>> Anonymous
>>477687

There are only a few really good Englishmen that aren't sitting on bench in top Clubs. Look at Arsenal, 92% foreigners.
>> Anonymous
>>477692
they are like England. Don't let the fact that they finally won a euro after what 40 years change that fact. In fact, Spain do worse than England do in international competitions. And England being shit has nothing to do with foreigners. The number for foreigners playing for English clubs is a recent event (I think since around 2002 and it wasn't until like 2004 was when foreigners started to become big). Look at the squad for Man Utd when they won the double in 1999...9 Englishmen in the roster and 11 Brits. Just look at the squads for the FA cup finals in recent years. That should give you an an indication of when the trend started to become big. And England were shit long before foreigners started coming in. If anything, foreigners have made England realise just how shit they are which resulted in us not qualifying and thus us playing better now.
>> Anonymous
>>477702
did I say double...i meant treble.
>> Anonymous
>>477697
most englishmen that sit on the bench aren't that good...hence they sit on the bench. Most englishmen are over priced (see david bently and darren bent and half the manchester united and tottenham players). Half the problem with England's squad is the media, their agents jack up their prices and over valuate them, hence why managers say fuck this: I'm going to get a kid from Spain/France/Algeria/morocco/etc, that will be a lot cheaper and better.
>> Anonymous
>>477710

I think the problem is, that there is too much money in Premier League.Investors are buying clubs like cars.

What will happen to Chelsea if Abramowich would drop them tomorrow?
>> Anonymous
>>477714
same thing that will happen to any club with our without a lot of money. Investors buying clubs is a recent phenomenon. England sucked before...always have. Only thing they've done is won one world cup and lets face it...that ball never crossed the line. Stop trying to blame England's problems on external factors when everyone knows that it's internal factors that make England suck. Stop listening to what the Sun and Times say. They're all a bunch of muppets (especially the sun)
>> Anonymous
>>477710
United show interest in any player and the players current club will slap at least £3 mil more on his price tag.
>> Anonymous
Regardless of his nationality.

Spurs spend over the odds for players of any nationality. £8 mil for a kepper who can't catch.
>> Anonymous
england wasn't that bad, maybe a little bit unlucky here and there. But now with all do foreigners here, we do really suck. Thanks to capello that he is pulling out the best of this shit.
>> Anonymous
>>477720
Yes, this is true, my point wasn't that it's solely an English thing. The thing is more than most, English players are over priced and given monikers like the next Bobby Moore, the next fowler, the next etc, etc, you get the point. Look at Walcott and all the hype he got by the press before he even played for Arsenal. English players sew the seeds of their own destruction due to the press/media and the clubs over valuating them. Other countries/clubs over valuate their players too, but not as much as English players are over valuated. Also, buying a foreign youth to train is easier than buying an English youth for the said reasons above.

we sucked before the foreigners...or rather were just decent. We haven't improved or downgraded. Remember in 94 when we didn't even qualify. 98 we lost in the round of 16 (before the "foreigners" started coming in). Then the to quarters in 02, and the quarters again in 06. Euro 92, we were bottom of our group and didn't make it past the group stage, we did good in 96, shit in 2000, and mediocre in 2000. I don't see how foreigners made us worse. We haven't improved or downgraded. Stop speaking from what the Times and Sun journalist hammer and actually look at the facts. Foreign players haven't done shit to our game. England have been mediocre. Just like Spain

So out of England's normal starting 11 the only ones playing are James and Terry?

Both teams look pretty weakened tonight, not sure whether that will make the game better or worse. There will be lots of players out there with something to prove.

>> Anonymous
>>477757
From the last few games I think so. Though Barry and Carrick imo would make the squad if everyone was fully fit, and Carrick would make it into my XI.
>> Anonymous
>>477746
i don't think they would. When we had clubs like Liverpool dominating Europe back in the 70s and 80s we had a lot of Englishmen in those sides...and did we win anything internationally? No. In fact, in those years I recall we sucked internationally.

Please play Barry and Carrick for the next game, Capello. They were immense tonight, particularly Carrick. Fuck Gerrard and Lampard.

Downing and SWP were good to, but both of them have had some dire games for England before so I dunno if it'll last.

>>478101

Yeah, but he's done it by virtue of being in the same squad as much better players at United.

Don't get me wrong, Carrick is a good player, but you don't normally see him dominate possession in the middle of the park like he did tonight.

Actually I just saw a very stilted performance from the germans. Of the goals, the first was a goalkeeping error, the second a defensive mix-up, and the third looked like shirt pulling on the defender. Overall, nothing too impressive from either team.

First two goals were scrappy, I'm not sure what shirt-pulling you are seeing for the third, and overall I thought England created some decent opportunities and controlled possession very well.

Germany were poor, but they weren't allowed to settle by England's midfielders harrying them in possession. I'd say it was about as good a performance as you could realistically hope for from a scratch England team at this pretty stupid time for an international friendly.
>> Anonymous
>>478100
If we'd have lost you'd be rubbing it in even though it was a friendly.
Good performance, good result. I'm happy.
>> Anonymous
>>478120

Well there weren't any replays showing the two players as they began to move from their starting positions while the free kick was taken, so you might be right.

Both teams were scratch though, although for England that's actually a good thing since you don't have to put up with the usual midfield primadonnas.

A dour match, to be honest. I'm glad I was switching between it and other matches.

I agree, stupid time of year for a friendly match. I think you can´t say the victory is undeserved, even if it wasn´t the best possible english team (but neither was it germanys), they played quite well, especially in the midfield. There was barely any offensive action from germany and the goal was a gift by terry/carson. If it was an important match I´d care about the result, but this does hardly bother me. Of course, if you lost, I´d point my finger at you and laugh. Thats what it´s about, isn´t it. (germanfag posting)
