Spurs will always be a playoff threat as long as Duncan is around

1 person a team does not make.

History repeats.

Spurs enter the lottery with one ping pong ball and get the next superstar to take duncans place.

that would be awesome, except there's no tim duncan for us to pick up in the draft this year. no david robinson, either. popovich needs to slowly change the team from being built around tim duncan to being built around tony parker. he's 26. all he has to do is learn how to shoot a three and he would be the number two point guard in the game. and i mean ahead of steve nash and behind chris paul.

Parker isn't a better passer then Nash but yeah he'll be better due to age but I still think D-Will is bit better.

Spurs will come back strong around January when Parker and Ginobili are both back and healthy.

i don't think deron williams is as good as tony parker. in fact, i could think of 55 reasons why tony parker is a better player.

> c wut i did thare

i'm scared of how much better williams could get though.

Spurs fans always say the regular season doesn't matter, we'll be ready to go when playoffs come around.

But now you have to spend the rest of the season make up for all of these losses, and instead of having a rested Duncan, Parker, and Ginobli peaking come April, 3rd in the west, you'll have a worn out group probably 7th facing the Hornets. GLHF ur dirtygamin'

You can't have Parker be the franchise player unless he has better playmaking skills. Sometimes he seem to put so much focus on scoring ball movement just stops until Ginobili starts handling the ball. Let's say that Duncan isn't going to be great in the next two years, Pop will need a roster full of veterans that aren't completely gassed out who can keep the offense flowing because Parker can't fuel the offense the way Nash or Paul does, and Manu is already breaking down from playing internationally no one knows what to expect of him within the next two years.

DWill is a better: distributor, shooter, defender. To say you'd rather have TP on a team than Deron is ridiculous. Deron makes everybody better, if he had say Amare or Duncan instead of Boozer, Utah would be 1/2 with LA.

It's all good, Bruce Lee Bowen will take out CP3 and the Spurs will coast to victory.

I couldn't give a damn about the Spurs collectively but goddamn I have a man crush on people like Tim Duncan and Chris Bosh. Even in the shittiest season they've had in nearly a decade, Duncan is still putting up 26ppg/11rpg, fucking nuts.
>> Anonymous
>>461465

rest is over rated. just have shorter practices, van gundy and mark jackson agree
>> Anonymous
why did Spurs defense drop so much with Bowen and Duncan both healthy?
>> Anonymous
I think this is going to be like that year spurs drafted tim duncan, they just throw games and draft another future HoFer and bam playoffs and championship for another 10-15.

Except the next draft will be the weakest in more than a decade.

Although I haven't watched much of the Spurs this year, I am going to guess it's based on a couple of things. When you only have two guys running the offense while everyone else stands and watch, the guys who don't get any touches will be much less interested in playing defense. Also, Spurs have always employed having one post player(Duncan) and 4 wing players to spread the floor, it worked in the past because they were one of the best 3 point shooting team, but with roster changes and everyone getting a year older, they can't rely on the 3 ball to bulldoze the opposing defense, and that in turn makes it more apparent the Spurs doesn't have enough size outside of Duncan. Houston has the same problem where no one outside of Yao could pull double digit rebounds.

As Riley said, no rebounds, no rings.
