Hi there, /sp/
This is my first time posting on this board, and I will admit, I am not a big sports fan. But I have decided that I want to become one. And I think soccer/football is a sport I would like to become interested in. So I really need help on how and where to find games, be they on the internet or on tv. In addition, what teams would be most interesting to follow. I was considering becoming a Brazil fan, just because I like Brazil as a country.

Thanks.

Might want to look elsewhere seeing as Brazil's domestic league is about as quality as Finland.

Brazil soccer is the bandwagon team of all bandwagon teams. That said, I hold to the theory that anything that makes Brazilian girls happy is a good thing. But for international soccer, your home country must come first.

NBA playoffs in full swing, watch the Western Conference series, you won't be disappointed.

Are there any teams and conferences that I should watch specifically, as far as soccer goes? In addition, where can I watch games on the internet?

watch baseball, it's better than all of the other sports.

For all your football/soccer needs.

I'd suggest watching each and every match if you have the time before rooting a particular team. I also suggest taking a look at some of the top European football leagues, such as those in England, Italy and Spain, if you want top-quality games. Latin American leagues are awesome in terms of spectator ambiance. For international football competitions, there's Euro 2008 coming up in Austria and Switzerland where top European national teams compete, while the 2010 World Cup in South Africa is also one to look out for.

This is the best time to become an NBA fan.

The soccer season is about over. But you should watch the English Premier League. It's the best league in the world. Also the European Champions League.

If you're a bandwagon supporter, then brazilian top teams right now are São Paulo, Palmeiras and Fluminense. Santos might surprise too. if you're a bandwagon but don't want to be called like that, there's Corinthians in the second division, strong and traditional team.

You can always find matches for brazilian national championship (which starts this Saturday) and Libertadores (South American UCL) in sopcast

sure. Liverpool and Barcelona just showed that in 2005/2006. Boca doesn't count, is a faggot argentinian team and Milan is full of brazilians anyway

True, people drool over C. Ronaldo and Fernando Torres.

The Spanish and German leagues are more competitive despite the lack of more international audience and players.

Start watching the NHL playoffs NOW. You'll never be able to care about another sport.

check out this forum for football/soccer
http://www.fbtz.com/forum/index.php?

tons of forums on almost all leagues, i personally like the SPL, scottish premiere league. But I also enjoy games from Serie A (Italian league) and the English Premiere League. There are forums on that site for torrents and downloads of full 90minute matches, and discussion in general.

Why are you watching football when you could watch baseball?

Levante, Valencia, Murcia, Osasuna, Recreativo, Zaragoza, Valladolid, Betis, Almeria, Getafe, Espanyol, Atletic, Deportivo, Mallorca, Racing

None of them are very good.

And even Villareal, Athletico and Sevilla aren't brilliant. After all, Athletico "4th in the Liga" Madrid did get knocked out by Bolton "16th in the Premiership" Wanderers. And Villareal "second in la Liga" were, I believe knocked out by Zenith... Who's only English opponent (Everton) beat them 1-0 without even breaking a sweat.

Of course the EPL has "only" four fabulous sides. How many do you want them to have? But saying that la Liga clubs are better seems strange when there's no objective way of comparing the lesser sides of the Liga with the lesser sides of the EPL...

watch the upcoming Euro 2008 tournament first and foremost.

when next season begins check out some of the european leagues. La liga (spain), Serie A (italy), PRemiership (england) are the big ones, but other countries' top leagues are just as entertaining. The dutch eredivise has exciting matches, and whenever i watch highlights of the swedish top league i always see a crazy proportion of awesome goals. :s

Oh and the Champions League too. Best annual sports competition in the world.

Shit competition is shit.

The only 4 teams anyone wants to watch is going to just beat the hell out of all the others and no one gives a shit about piss poor relegation zone teams battling to stay up.

At least in Bundesliga and La Liga you can expect there to be at least some competion in a game between the number 1 and the number 12 team.

So basically, you prefer to watch 2 middling sides cancel each other out than one fantastic side slaughter the other hapless sheep.

I can appreciate that.
