Wizards vs Cavaliers? Why not?
I think a lot of people are waiting to see how well a healthy Wizards team is going to do this time around.
>> Anonymous
lebron is the 4th seed so...
>> Anonymous
After the bad trade the cavaliers made, and the highly improved wizards, arenas back and getting his range back (see his 4th quarter performance against philly), it's really going to be interesting. And i'd say the wizards will take this. Cleveland got queen james, but thats it. Wizards got Butler, Antawn, Arenas(3 allstars) and some other decent players...

Then, Celtics vs Wizards...heh, that would be funny!

Finals: Dallas vs. Washington

(heh, j/k, germanfag here)

It's that kind of thinking that continues to fascinate me, as far too many Americans talk themselves into any east team besides the Celts or the Pistons being worth a damn.

Wanting to see how a "healthy Wizards team" performs is like eagerly awaiting a "healthy Tampa Bay Devil Rays roster." The team hasn't been good in 15+ years, and they still suck.
>> Anonymous
Orlando is alright. If there's gonna be a real upset in the east, it'll be them over Detroit in the second round. It's still going to be Boston in the finals no matter what.

Ever notice he's a NIGGER?

Only teams I see being able to knock the Celtics out are the pistons and possibly the magic of cavs because of the matchups.
>> Kilgamayan !2BklmILFiE
Detroit is the only team I'm remotely worried about. Washington is getting Arenas back at just the right time for their opponents and we dominated Cleveland in the last game with played with them.

Of course, I'm very much worried about Detroit, because they're a really fucking good team and are fully capable of taking us out in the ECF.

>>62388
Yeah well the Wizards are the only team to have beaten the Celtics three times this year.

That comment was more towards how well they'll do against the Cavs anyways. They were swept last year because of an injured roster.

Bosh still isn't 100%, Toronto won't make it past the first round no matter what.

Don't underestimate Orlando. They can bring it with the best of them. Very tough to beat at home.

Also, correct about Bosh and losing in the first round.

Toronto is 1-2 against Orlando? what are you talking about.
>> Anonymous
>>62476
Yeah, Orlando hasn't got enough respect this season. Won the season series with Boston, and split with Detroit. Second best road record in the east, only other east team besides Detroit/Boston to hit 50 wins. Turkoglu should've been in the All-star game and Howard is probably the most talented center in the east.
Cleveland will also probably get its shit together by the time the playoffs come, they'll give Boston a decent run. Washington was better without Arenas, and overall aren't healthy enough to win a long series.
>> Anonymous
Washikngton and Cleaveland is right up there with the Suns and Lakers when talking about best rivalaries. The Wizards are calling Bron overated and the Cavs have put them out 2 years in a row

Any body else find it weird that the Hornets and Mavs play their last game against each other than if the
Lakers beat the Kings the Hornets and Mavs will have to meet in the playoffs

Isn't Toronto 7-3 in their last 10 vs Orlando or something?

Chris Bosh was hurt in the November 7th game, Chris Bosh dropped 40 (and averages like 35 against Orlando) in the Feburary 20th game, Chris bosh DNP in the March 4th game.

Nesterovic can handle Howard. Nobody can handle Bosh. Nobody can handle Calderon or Ford.

Bai in first round, Magicfags.

if ford wouldnt have been injured so many times he would have been as good as CP3

Minus the steals, fg%, 3-pt fg%, rebs, and about 3 less assists.

Toronto might not even finish over .500, for fuck's sake. Enjoy your first round against Detroit when Philly slips ahead of you.

Philly has to play Detroit for their final game of the year and Toronto plays the Heat.

I think Toronto is staying at 6.

Philly plays Cleveland and Chicago for their last two games, i don't know where you got Detroit. Probably will still stay 7th, but the fact thay they've got a chance shows that Toronto is soft.

I'll trade 3's for 3's with Orlando considering we're #1 in the NBA in % and because Dwight Howard wouldn't have the ball.
>> Anonymous
>>62682
... Toronto is the second best 3pt shooting team in the league. They'll just counter with Kapono-Parker-Calderon
>> Anonymous
>>62692
.392% from 3 for Toronto. Delfino and Bargnani also have 100+ 3's. Bosh has even hit a 3 in like 5 of the last 6 games.

We'd need to start Calderon against Orlando. Fuck Ford's shit for that series.
>> Kilgamayan !2BklmILFiE
>>62687
>>62692

Orlando is less than a percentage point behind Toronto despite taking a whole lot more. They make almost 3 more 3s a game than Toronto.

Sure, Toronto may take more shots total per game, but Orlando has the better overall FG% (albeit by an even narrower margin than the 3PT%). I'll take the team that's making more 3s while still shooting the better overall percentage.
>> Anonymous
lol over-optimistic toronto fags

there's a reason you're a .500 team. as long as t.j. ford is a little bitch and calderon lets him have his way, you ain't doing shit. honestly, i don't even know why i am posting in this thread. it would take a miracle for anyone other than detroit or boston to come out of the east.

Wizards over Cleveland in 6. Only threats Cleveland has is Lebron and Gibson. Wizards have quick enough guards to cover Gibsons 3 ball. As for covering Lebron, I can see 4-5 players who can rotate on to him and wear him down. It's gonna be a good match up.

Toronto is not going to make it past the first round, and I'm a diehard Raptors fan. We just don't have enough "talent" to beat the other east teams (I use the term loosely because teams of the east and talent don't go very well together)
>> Anonymous
Gibson has missed too many games from injuries, and right now he doesn't look to be a threat aside from a 20 point game after 5 or 6 stinkers. Cavs' defense and rebounding has taken such a huge step back from last year the Wizards have a good shot at sweeping the Cavs, because as good as Lebron is in the 4th qtr, they can't win if the team doesn't step up on the D. Even though I don't like Wizard's chances, it would be great if they can make past second round. They've dealt with injuries to their stars all season long and the role players whom everyone thought were nobodies stepped up their game at different points throughout the season.

As for Orlando, they're overlooked because:
1. They have no interior defender aside from Dwight. Had the Magic play in the West they would get slaughtered by the likes of Nash, Baron, CP3 or Deron.
2. They have no bench, and are especially lacking in big men depth with only Foyle backing up the frontcourt. Like the Hornets bench earlier this year they have too many guys who are inconsistent to play over 20 minutes.
3. Suspect backcourt. As a Laker fan I was glad Evans was gone so Vujacic gets actual playing time. This guy has been inconsistent since he pulled his hamstring last year. He still has some explosiveness at getting to the rim, but his plays has been erratic before the trade, and his numbers only look better afterwards because the Magic had no one else to start at the 2. And then you have Jameer Nelson, who was tearing it up when the Magic was 18-4 to start the season, since then the Magic management must have regrets on wasting all that money on Rashard and not being able to pursue any quality PG. You can't win a series if the two guys starting at the 1 and 2 would be benched on any other team.

okay, besides people living in orlando, cleveland, and FUCKING TORONTO, is there a single person who thinks detroit/boston doesn't win the east?

from l.a. - i could see it happening. the team most likely to do it, imho? the magic. yeah, i know, shocking picking the #3 seed as the most likely to upset #1 or #2. still, 2-1 against boston, 2-2 against detroit during the season. i know the playoffs are a whole other matter, and they have to get past the raps, who do match up fairly well against orlando despite being a worse team (yes, your team as a whole can match up well against one opponent but still be worse overall).

what i find most likely is that the celts will steamroll the cavs while the pistons struggle with the magic. if the magic somehow make it through, they'll probably be tired. however, if lebron goes crazy, which he can do, he might make a series of it. and then, if one of the Big Three tweaks something, the magic could steal it.

that having been said, you're probably right, it's very hard for me to imagine the magic beating both the raps and the pistons, and then having anything left in the tank for the celtics.

I agree with you on Orlando except for the fact that they play in the east.
1)Nash, CP3, Baron and Derron all play in the west. The east doesn't have the explosive play makers the west does. Rondo is unreliable, and Cassell/Billups are old and its starting to show. This thread is just about who stands a chance to get out of the east, not to win it all against the west.
2)Their bench isn't deep, but Foyle and Battie are at least veteran big men who won't make game losing mistakes. They won't make game winning shots, but you don't need that to just take foul pressure off of Howard.
3) Evans and Nelson are both having career years this season. Their combined 3 shooting is over 40% , so they play their roles efficiently. Evans draws attention away from the interior, Nelson plays the point as well as anyone in the east. Arroyo has also done well off the bench this season. Their backcourt is good enough to allow Hedo and Dwight to attack inside, which is all they really need to do.

I respect your opinion though, they aren't on the same tier as Detroit/Boston. But they're good enough to make the east semis interesting. As a Magicfag i'm just happy to see the first non-shitty team since Shaq left.

...the problem with the cavaliers is, that the refs are sucking his fucking dick. (metaphorically, no shit)

"uh its the ohhh so best player in the league, he never makes a mistake. What, traveling? Lebron? Impossible lol, i bet all my money on the mighty not in anyway overrated Lebron"

Seriously, that last play yesterday against philly...wtf? Just call his traveling, game over.
OH WAIT IT WAS A FOUL, WE SAW IT AFTER WE REALISED THE GAME WAS SUPPOSED TO END WITH A WIN FOR CLEVELAND...fuck that shit.

The thing is that Wizards have been able to match up and out play both Boston and Detroit.

They won season series against Boston, taking last three games, including a home and home with a day rest in between them. Wizards have had Detroits number on a number of games dating back to Eddie Jordans playoff seasons as head coach. Even Flip says Wizards are hard to beat.

Wizards are THE biggest threat as a lower seed right now. With Gilbert healthy, he has to be a wildcard in the clutch that no one in the league has seen since last year. Solid team work, role players stepping up, and possibly the deepest bench in the east.
