Hey, Yankee Stadium isn't the only park to close.

Shea had some great moments, like the '69 series, and the '86 series (lol sox). The All-Star game, and the Mike Piazza homer on 9/21/01, etc.

If ESPN are fapping to the Yankees now, I bet they will to the Mets.

You mean that "other" New York team?

Mets were created because all the Giantsfags and Dodgerfags couldn't accept the fact that the Yankees have become the team of New York.

So what?
The Mets still have a lot of history

According to the schedule its gonna be on SNY, I love our comic relief team, I hope they bring buckner in

The true story is the Yankees wanted to create a 2nd team that idiots could cheer for. Thus the Mets were created.

Sadly, nobody but Mets fans cares about the Mets. :(

FUCK THE YANKEES, A ROD IS A HOMO

So? Every New Yorker went to more games at Shea because Yankee tickets are so damned expensive. Plus they were so fun to watch because of how bad they were.

They don't have a lot of history, but they beat the red sux

Actually a Jew figured he could make money with another team so he made it.

The Mets ARE bad.

C'mon, they've been alright recently but in the 90's they were comical

So you think the 2000 Mets or the 1986 Mets are bad?
>> Anonymous
>>353257
As a team and their history, absolutely. A few bright spots along the way don't make up for how terrible they've been for so long.

Yes, the franchise is shit, but they had good years anyways.

Metsfag here. Can't wait for Shea to get torn down. I've always hated that stadium. As for them being bad, well they somehow pulled the championship out of their ass in 69, were decent in the mid 70s, amazing in the mid 80s, had have had a few good years (99, 2000, 2006-current) since then.

It was almost painful to be a fan in the 90s. Anthony Young's losing streak (27), the false hope of Pulsipher/Isringhausen/Wilson, the horrible signings of Bobby Bonilla/Mo Vaughn/Roberto Alomar/etc. But I love my team and stick by them no matter what happens.

I will laugh if the Cubs get eliminated.

Again.

hey, i'm just happy they have a shot at it, again, for the second year in a row. first time they've had two consecutive postseason appearances since you-know-when.

i'm only nervous if we have to play the phillies. we can beat the dodgers and the mets have no bullpen, but the phillies have a really good team.

p.s. mets will probably collapse and the brewers will win the wild card.

They will. They're the Cubs.
