How do the Yankees get away with paying 4 million a year for Wang? To put it in perspective, Pettitte earns 16 million, Mussina and Pavano earn 11 million each, Beckett earns 10 million, and Dice-K earns 8 million a year.

Why hasn't anyone tried to steal Wang from the Yankees? They're clearly lowballing him.

Wang has serious growth potential, that's a fact.

Wang doesnt have enough years of MLB 'service', he is not a free agent and the Yankees still own the rights to him

free agency in baseball isn't like other sports

go do some reading, you're either underage or extremely new to baseball

Why can't you buy and and sell players in American sports like you do in European football?

I mean the Red Sox bought Matsuzaka from Seibu Lions for 50 million USD or something right? Why can't the Yankees offer the Mariners like 100 million USD for Felix Hernandez or something like that?

you need 6 years of service before you can become a free agent in MLB. A baseball team owns you for those 6 years.

Petitte/Mussina/Beckett etc did their 6 years time, filed for free agency and got whatever contracts they got in the MLB open market.

For the record, anyone who refers to Matsuzaka as "Dice-K" is a faggot.
