International basketball is inferior. It has had less time, less money, and more importantly, less talent to evolve as a sport.
The trapezoid lane and short three and small court confine the game into a small space. This discourages athleticism and makes it purely a mid-range jump shooting game. This is why all the 7-footers can shoot but can't play the post.
The refs stink. They haven't been trained and vetted to ignore flopping, so players flop more. The flop is the worst part of international ball, because it discourages aggression. The most exciting play in basketball is the block shot/dunk at the rim, but it almost never happens in euroball. The NBA made steps to correct this with the circle in the key and an emphasis on blocking calls. Euroball, meanwhile, seems to be as intractable with its rules as baseball. Also, the refs seem to call less techs, so players whine more. It's like soccer.
