Can anyone explain to me how VT will clinch it's division if they win against Virginia next week? I really don't understand this whole tie nonsense.

They won't beat Virginia.

This whole division such a wretched choke job that it simply can't happen.

Let me guess, you love sucking on SEC's cock, don't you? Get a reality check. Your shitty conference only has two teams. The rest fucking suck and are simply overrated by the shitfest known as the BCS.

The ACC is the most exciting conference right now. Yeah yeah, you know one of the other teams will win in the other "big" conferences, but with the ACC, it's all about the waiting game for Georgia Tech and prayer to win it's division.

EXPLAIN YOUR CONFERENCE'S SHITTY RECORD, SIR

They would have the best divisional record of the tied teams.

Best argument for league relegation policy to be adopted.

What if Georgia Tech beats Georgia? Wouldn't that knock them up higher to Virginia Tech?
>> Anonymous
>>483368
I vote the "USC and nine FCS teams" conference go first.
>> Anonymous
>>483375
No. Georgia Tech has completed their league schedule. At most they would tie with Virginia Tech at which point they would loose the division by virtue of loosing to Virginia Tech earlier in the year. The divisional record doesn't really matter anymore since UNC and Virginia both lost today.

For fucks sake. Well...

GO CAVALIERS!

More like USC, 7 average division 1 teams, and 2 FCS teams if you're actually going to be honest about it.

Beating Georgia wouldn't help them in conference standings because it's a non-conference game. Georgia Tech is 5-3 in the ACC, Virginia Tech would be 5-3 with a win over Virginia next week, and Miami would be 5-3 with a win over NC State next week. Should those three teams tie, Virginia Tech would win the division because of their 4-1 division record compared to Georgia Tech and Miami's 3-2 division records.

True. But that still doesn't change the fact that barring some kind of miracle coach going to one of the other teams, the Pac-10 will only ever have one team capable of competing for the national title.

Butthurt ACCfag detected.

Cal was #2 last season. If they could've avoided their epic implosion (and Longshore's injury) they could have contended. Oregon has been in the picture late in the season a few times recently.

And not even that long ago, Wash and Wash St., and Oregon St. were BCS quality teams too.

typical SEC cocksucker comeback.

Dude, USF was #2 last season. Christ, even my Ohio State Buckeyes were number one. Means nothing if they choke.

Yeah, and Harvard and Yale used to rack up national titles, too. That doesn't mean the Ivy League should be in the BCS right now either.

So... Does Virginia have a chance on beating VT?

It's college football. Anyone can beat anyone else. I think VT should win, but who would really be stunned if they lost?

Depends on which versions of each team show up.

Read the post I was responding to, faggots.

>the Pac-10 will only EVER have ONE team capable of competing for the national title

I'll make a huge bet against any takes. Who disagree with me. Implying USC (or only one other team) will ever have a shot is being short-sighted.

I only care about Georgia Tech beating Georgia. Virginia Tech can go to the conference championship to play in an empty stadium for all I care.

Virginia Tech will have to drive through your state to get to said championship game, you hillbilly faggot.

SEC for the FAIL.

Cuz it's awfully hard to disprove.

The hillbilly faggot part I agree with. Everything outside of Atlanta is...wow. I just disagree with the SEC part.

The BCS is inherently fucked up beyond repair, don't kid yourself.
