haha, I hate Liverpool so much, Keane isn't worth £20m and i'm a Spurs fan... plus, did they really need a striker? get a fullback and a winger (even if it's just for a plan B).

^^^^ get out naysayer

keane was overpaid for but with him we should be able to contend this season

What kind of team needs more than 5 good full backs?

Get out.
>> Anonymous
Its funny because Scousers think Keane will play more than 10 games this season. Enjoy your rotation system with 6 strikers in a 4-5-1.
>> Anonymous
It's the same shit every year "OMG LIVERPOOL WILL CONTEND NOW" Last year it was Torres Babel, Vronin will make us contenders. Before that it was Kuyt and Bellamy will make us contenders.

Just accept the 70s and 80s are over Liverfags.

>>227593
Wait you think Voronin will ever get a start ever again? They have like 3 viable strikers. Keane gives them more options. I still think they aren't strong enough to win the league.
>> Anonymous
>>227584
I wouldnt exactly call Finnan or Arbeloa 'good', theyre alright. So yea, they do need a right back, especially since theyre trying to flog Finnan off to Villa as part of the Barry deal... another player they dont need.
>> Anonymous
>>227597
No where near strong enough. A keeper who simply cant deal with aerial balls, a second rate defence, no backup to the only good players they have (Gerrard, Mascherano, Torres)
>> Anonymous
>>227600
Personally, I rate Xabi Alonso, but for some reason Rafa doesnt. But yea, their squad just isn't good enough, Gerrard, Carragher, Torres and Mascherano carry that team.

>>227602
Xabi is a very good, if not one of the best, passer and shooter of the ball from deep midfield, however, he is completely unathletic and hence flawed. Carragher is just average. Everytime someone says they rate him I think of that game against Arsenal where he tried to hold Henry off the ball, when the ball was 40 yards ahead of him, Henry simply walked around him, ran away at blistering pace and scored a simple 1 on 1. One of the stupidest defensive mistakes I've ever seen and I've seen Wes Brown.
>> Anonymous
>>227599
You're a fucking idiot, arbeloa was one of the most consistent right-backs in the premier league last season. Degen seems like an adequate replacement for Finnan, who is getting on, and has served us very well.
>> Anonymous
>>227611
A defender makes 1 mistake against probably the best striker in the world at the time and thus you deem them as average?

Goddamnit /sp/.
>> Anonymous
carras got 2 maybe 3 season to groom monster and agger. He isnt going anywhere

And whats with the fullback comments??

Dossena is an Italy international, we have aurellio and insua will be pushing for first team action

The right wont be a problem. Arbeloa as first choice and dengen can hold it and carra can be used there as a makeshift replacement

there will be no rotation this season, there is adequete but not exessive depth. With these players you can expect clean sheets and with a bolstered frontline all oppurtunities will be capitalized on. Less draws and more wins

>>227611
I've seen Wes Brown. I've seen him score against the scousers... I've Forlan and O'shea score against the scouse bastards as well.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

>>227623
The EPL is hardly blessed with godly right backs though for some reason... Arbeloa isn't as good as Sagna or Hutton imo and possibly not even Corluka. But it's strange, lots of EPL teams just seem completely devoid of quality at RB. Chelsea have brought in Bosingwa, Man Utd still havent brought in anyone to cover Neville (who's arguably the best right back in the world, but getting old and recovering from injury)... Even Everton, Portsmouth, Villa etc are weak there.

I don't know why I even bother.

>>227611
Have you watch a game in 2 seasons? Sure Wes Brown used to suck, and still sucks for England, but his last two club seasons have been solid. He does a lot more than he's been getting credit for.

Also, Brown scored against Liverpool. The only time Carragher scored in a United-Liverpool match it was twice for United.

If you don't think Neville is a quality fullback then DONT bother, because I wouldnt listen anyway.

Chelsea is PIG DISGUSTING

>>227751

Daniel Alves is dross. Well, at least at defending. Running forward, overlapping, and crossing he can do well. Ask him to make a tackle or man mark and all of a sudden he becomes completely average.

Robbie Keane isn't going to fit in at Liverpool, all they play are long balls from Gerrard. The Pool and Spurs play polar opposite styles of football and Robbie Keane is going to run around in that completely unused 15 yard deep area right in front of the box like a Chicken with his head cut off and get absolutely no service. Enjoy your fail, Keano.

Liverpool won't win anything this year. Chelsea has the title, Madrid will have the CL once they get Ronaldo, Man U will take the FA Cup and one of the littler teams (like Arsenal HURR DURR) will take the League cup.

I love it how Liverpool fans will still be singing about 2005 in 2009. Even littler clubs like Spurs and Pompey have recent things to cheer about.

>>227663

If Gary Neville is still a quality right back then Lee Trundle should be starting for England.
>> Anonymous
>>227749

even if all the other teams die, they would still come 4th.
>> Anonymous
>>227658
Yeah tbh no basis, he didnt even play last season, but in his prime he was the dark stallion, could do anything from last ditch tackles to inch perfect crosses. There was a scientific (SCIENCE!) study into the 100 greatest players of all time based on a matter of what nots, Neville came just below 50.
>> Anonymous
>>227660
lol yes I have seen Brown play, Im a manc. I think he is a great player, but he can't pass for shit and some of the things he does border on moronic.

>Chelsea has the title, Madrid will have the CL once they get Ronaldo, Man U will take the FA Cup and one of the littler teams (like Arsenal HURR DURR) will take the League cup.

You should put money on that. I'd say, your whole life savings, your car, your house etc. Really good deal! No team in the PL is improving. Chelsea signed Bosingwa and got a new manager, losing Makelele in the process. Arsenal will offset the loss of Flamini and Hleb with Nasri and the return of Eduardo but they play in the same position so go figure. Liverpool are a joke, enjoy your 4th place. Man United have no real replacement for Scholes and Giggs (who has been past it for a year already) yet, 2 young players in Nani and Anderson but neither have truly proved themselves.

Still, being a die hard Manc, I'd like to hope that Rooney finds his shooting boots and strikes up a deadly partnership with Berbatov, Anderson turns into the midfield maestro he could be, Ronaldo realises that he can score a decent free kick but those FK;s and penalties accounted for most of his goal tally last season, and that we sign a genius of a new assistant manager to replace Fergie.

Technically they cant. FA have banned them from winning it this year since giving out that amount of Winners Medals would bankrupt the British economy.

lol @ writing off Arsenal. You'll just never learn.

Here's my PL finish (the teams that anyone care about):

1)Arsenal
Man Utd
Chelsea
Tottenham
Liverpool
Portsmouth
Everton
Fulham
Aston Villa
Man City
11)Sunderland

Arsenal win CL

Man Utd win FA

Everton win LC.

you'll be lucky to hold on to 4th place if you dont pick up a defensive midfielder and a centerback by the time the season starts

and lol @ fulham 8th, above villa and man city

Andy Johnson is not going to rescue them, he's dined out on his palace form for long enough now. Relegation candidates.

Arsenal won't win anything until they learn older players are good too.
They need someone to guide them. As far as Champions league your fucking nuts.
