1. Get lower than the guy you're blocking.
2. Put yourself in the mindset that you will never stop moving your legs
3. Keep your hands in to avoid holding calls

My first suggestion would be posting in /fit/ if you plan to start your sentence like that.

SQUATZ, powercleans, bench and incline press in the weight room. Lots of ladder and cone drills on the field for quickness and plyometric boxes for explosiveness. Also, don't buy into the old school idea of having to be fat to play o-line. Speed and power > weight.

Never stop moving your feet. Short consistent steps while blocking FIGHTING for the other guy's chest.

It is completely legal to grasp the other player you are blocking's chest portion of their shoulder pads, But you better let go of him if he tries to back away from you or tries to slide off to make a tackle. The whole point is to hold him perfectly in front of you, arms extended, pounding your feet until you...
a. hear the whistle
b. put him on his ass
c. push him to the opposite side of the field.

But beware. If you keep holding onto his chest plates when he is not facing you, you will get called for a penalty for holding. The point is to hold him square so it will be difficult to make a move, and no ref is going to call holding if you are the one shoving HIM around.

When running elsewhere to make a block, like a screen, keep your shoulders square to the line of scrimmage. God help you if a defensive player decides to nail you broadside and make you look foolish.

On goal-line plays, Get lower than the other guy. If he is so low that you have to basically lie on the ground, do it and push as hard as you can. At this point it is a game of inches. And every inch you fight for it worth the dirt you may get on your pretty little uniform.

I played high school D. Line. So I really don't know why I'm even bothering with the advice.

I guess I just miss those good old football games on Friday night. :(
