Let's look at it shall we...
20 -- yes, TWENTY -- consecutive seasons of missing the playoffs to kick off their franchise history. In the NFL, even during the 70s and 80s, that is a VERY VERY difficult thing to "accomplish"
34 years before recording their first playoff win, in 2000, after almost blowing the biggest playoff lead in NFL history (but at least they won on a freak punt fumble, right?)
2-6 overall in playoffs, only 8 winning seasons in 40 years of franchise history. while 3 division championships wash away some blow, never going to a super bowl and only appearing in an nfc championship once does bring things down.
not saying they'll remain one of the worst sports teams in history, since they do have some promise for the coming years, they do have to be considered for the present (at least as the NFL's worst team -- even the Cardinals have an NFL Championship!)
