Dear Premier League loving Britfags, you all seem to get up in arms everytime someone from another country roots for one of your 'Big 4' clubs, so my question to you is this: How come everytime I watch one of your matches there are at least a dozen douchebags in New York Yankees baseball caps in the front rows?? Exactly. Enjoy your hypocrisy-fail while I enjoy ManUSA!
PS - Many of you seem to REALLY love fake wrestling too, yet you act so uppity lolwut

proves there are douchebags in the both countries that root for manure.

PROTIP: go root to liverpool and wear a scum jersey

No it just proves there are gloryfags in every country and at least in ours more than 4 fucking teams can win shit... maybe if your league was a little more balanced intl fans would spread their loyalties a little more. I doubt some soccerfag in bumfuck nebraska is all about Nottingham Forest or Millwall, nor should he be. So stop crying about it or pick another team besides the fuckin Yankees!

The cap wearing in many (if not the vast majority) of cases does not denote support for the team from which the caps emblem is derived.
Many of the lower class in the UK simply wear caps because they are either too lazy to brush their hair, or they wish to be identified (by their cap-wearing) as uncouth failures with little or no manners.
I believe the "NY" logo is particularly common among caps, and should therefore not be seen as a sign of support. Many of the wearers would not know what this emblem represents.

If such people wish to be identified as uncouth failures with little or no manners, then the NY logo fits perfectly. Carry on.

BULLSHIT. lol Uh, No. Srsly. There are plenty of caps you could wear other than a popular MLB bandwagon team. It's particularly funny seeing how so many of you britfags, at least online, make fun of all sports outside of soccer and rugby yet there are baseball caps galore. You want to put it on lower class, fine, I'm sure they're the ones who pack the WWE events too for the most part. But especially with your seemingly large disdain for America in general, yet many of you walk around sporting the epitome of Yank-dom, capitalism and "America's Pastime." Plus we own your two most historic, popular teams. I just find this all very amusing really.

You have a point, but overall it's still a bit ironic IMO.

I don't care about the other big 4 teams they've done fuck all this year with the carling and FA going to other teams...

I get pissed off with norweigans and woolybacks supporting liverpool and trying to take the piss out of me for supporting everton... it's annoying because they call themselves scousers by supporting liverpool when they clearly are not.

I was brought up on Manchester United but I'm Canadian.

My 2 teams have always been Manchester United and Rangers due to being Scottish and English. But I'm a bigger United fan.

But I do have 1 problem... ManUSA? That's the biggest insult in footie history.

I had a Yankees hat when I was about 9 because they were selling them in a bargain bin at a sports shop. I didn't know what the fuck the NY meant.

It's true I'm afraid. My guess would be that most of the plebs that wear these caps think that the logo belongs to some kind of fashion brand.

Look mate, the thing about the NY baseball cap is this, it's a mass produced item that is so common now you can pick one up for like £2 in any sports shop or supermarket. It's taken as more of a symbol of America or New York City rather than the Yankee's baseball team. The other guy was right when he said nearly all the people who wear them don't know that the NY symbol is even associated with a baseball team. Hell, the baseball cap is not exclusive to baseball and hasn't been for a long time. Every team and fashion brand produces them.

Now if someone is wearing an proper, size-fitted NY cap then you know they're a baseball fan, since 1. You have to go to a specialist shop to buy one (In the UK at least), and 2. They are the type that is exclusive to baseball now as far as I know. Most people don't know that caps come in sizes, nearly all of them are adjustable, except for proper baseball ones.

The yankees are just fortunate that their symbol cap got into quite a few movies and programs that had nothing to do with baseball. It was thus taken to be a fashion item or just a symbol of New York, not a sports team.

It's for this reason by the way that Manchester United (scum) got the 'Football Club' part of their name erased from their badge. 'Manchester United' used to be all on the top part and the bottom had 'Football Club' on it. If you dig around a bit you cam probably find an old picture of when it looked like this.

NY caps are massive. They've taken on more appeal in a broader sense than what the logo original stood for. The logo itself isn't seen as the baseball team, but as a fashion thing now. Especially outside of Amerikkka.

Adidas sell NYY caps in Europe... But no ordinary folk know that it's a baseball cap... I didnt know until I was about 16 or so, before that I just figured it was Adidas having some "New York"-brand (because it only says NY)

if you support liverpool, you'll diss everton.

if you support man city you'll hate on man u by default.

if you're a arsenal fan you'll auto-hate on Spurs even if you're norwegian
