I said to my friend the other night: "When is the last time Chicago did anything good?"

He said "The White Sox won the WS a few years ago"

I said "Ohh yeah, I forgot about that shit"

According to the Red Sox radio coverage, that very Journey song was played at Fenway before the ninth inning.

I can confirm, I was at the game, and they played it in the 9th inning.

Everyone fucking sang along. It was great.

That must have been unreal. To be honest, I gave up after Pena's HR, and shut the radio off. I came back in the seventh, just as Pedroida was coming to the plate, figuring I'd watch the last couple innings of the season. Glad I did.

And also the phrase "vote early, vote often"

Oh god, after the first 6 innings I had this sick feeling in the pit of my stomach, and then we slowly but surely crawled out of it as the Red Sox pushed their way back into the game.

And even when they were down 7-0, a VAST majority of the fans stuck around, and the faggot bandwagoners who left are probably kicking themselves in the balls/cunts right about now.

They should be. If you pay for the tickets, you stay for the whole damn game, no matter how bad it gets. Shutting the TV or radio off for a couple of innings is one thing (I do that, sometimes, but I almost always come back for the end of the game), but if you're at the park you damn well stay.

Besides, if they HAD lost, it would be the last game of the year, and you'd owe it to the players to watch the final outs. That was part of why I turned the game back on: I figured we might not see some of these guys in a Red Sox uniform again.
