Food safety at the Games. Anonymous
While we have a brief lull in proceedings, two superb news items to bring you. First to Beijing, for the daily official press conference. Today's topic? Food safety at the Games. Apparently, the official "food safety guarantee team" stationed across all Olympic sites have monitored 389,176 breakfasts, 574,035 lunches, 481,527 dinners and 172,092 evening snacks for athletes, as well as officials and registered media. That's 1,616,830 meals. And guess what? Not a single food safety accident, we're told. Result.

Also, the guy whos doing the sports text commentary for the bbc is called Ollie Williams. Thought you'd like to know.

That's a pretty impressive logistical feat, actually.

Even if they have 2 billion people to call upon, the co-ordination is pretty impressive.
