As a Packers and a Favre fan, I have to disagree.

>>230196
as a fan of any one of the other 31 teams in the NFL, I'm going to go ahead and say a quick end to the lurid fixation on a player ten years past his prime would, in fact, be fucking awesome
>> Anonymous
>>230197
I don't know how you can say past his prime when he JUST had one of the best, if not THE BEST year of his career.

But I too want the whole Favre situation to go away, I used to respect him and although I'm no Packersfag, I would watch GB play whenever I could because I enjoyed watching Favre... but lately all that has turned to shit.

Media cover up in progress, Favre's double has been contacted and will be in camp to keep up appearances.

As a Packers fan and a Favre fan, I agree but I want this stupid thing and ESPN's obsession over it to stop. The solution is simple- sign Favre, trade Rodgers, and shut up.
>> Anonymous
>>230228
that's a solution if you don't give a shit about the future of your franchise

typical idiot Packers fan

Oren Radgers might suck, but he might not. Plus, he has ten years left. Favre will almost definitely suck, and will be average at best. Even if he does not suck, he has about ten games left in his career.

I want this to happen, gets traded to the niners because Alex Smith blows too hard, and then he becomes the next Steve Young. Just so i can laugh at packerfags

Favre was a pro-bowler last year. Rodgers is unproven, having played in 3 games with extended playing time and been injured twice. He has missed more games backing up Favre in two years than Favre has missed in 15. Yeah, he could play and be great, but so could Brohm. Trading him and picking up someone else wouldn't be a great loss.

Sure, we could try to set up a run-centric offense but Grant isn't a secret weapon anymore and especially with Rodgers back there he would run into 8 man walls and be considerably less effective.

I like Rodgers, and I think he's a great guy and a good player, but out on the field he is replaceable. Better to make a run at a championship with Favre while some of the older receivers like Driver are still around and take a year or two to get going with Brohm than to just take a year or two to get going with Rodgers while suffering criticism and bitterness from fans because of what might have been.

If they can keep Rodgers without completely dividing the locker room somehow great but if it's Rodgers or Favre, Favre is the obvious choice. Benching him would just be a joke.

rogers looked pretty good in that dallas game. maybe the packers have enough weapons where even the washed up brett favre could quarterback this team. in that case, why not go with youth.

Nigger, you must be high.

yeah hard to go the Super Bowl when you keep throwing the ball to the other team's defensive backs

please, if you knew anything about sports, you'd realize rodgers and favre are two completely different qbs with different skill sets. you'd also realize that favre isn't much of a teacher.

youre an idiot if you think that

nope, he's right, nobody plays like Favre with that quick-pop release

I thought you were right until I saw Colt Brennan's side arm pass.
>> Zycho32
As a Packersfag, this situation blows so badly I want to see Rodgers completely and totally kick Favre's ass in a competition for the starting QB job... just to shut everybody the fuck up.
>> Anonymous
>>230858
haha, that'll only make for more drama. if favre wins the starting job, rodgers will have no choice but to be the backup, and the media will go away. but if rodgers wins, do you think brett will sit quietly on the sidelines holding that clipboard? the tantrum will be epic.
>> Anonymous
>>230872
i hope for epic tantrum

If you're a Packers fan and are seriously hoping for Favre to come back to take you to the super bowl you're fucking retarded
Aaron Rodgers has been your qb of the future for the last three years and you won't even give him a chance to play

He'll be "Officially" back on the Packers by Noon tomorrow. 4 hours later he'll be traded. No way in hell Packers are going to bend over for Farve, and give them the starting job regardless. If Packers really wanted Farve to play for them, they would have let him be starter for this season and this whole mess wouldn't have happened
>> Anonymous
I wish they would just trade his fucking ass within the division that way we can see him play against the fudgepackers. It would add some much needed drama to (sometimes) boring regular season.
>> Anonymous
>>230905

The whole state of Wisconsin would revolt in response if he were traded right after this mess. Actually, it would be fun to see that shit.

>>230931
wisconsinfag here....I honestly don't see why the Packers would keep him.

A)They clearly don't want him, after all they offered him $20million just to stay him and shut the fuck up....

B) Farve's image is tarnished, so now's the time to trade him. Farve wanted a trade after last season, but Packers thought fans would revolt...now (some) fans think he's a pussy and have slowly started to turn on him. They could easily get 2-3 draft picks for him, considering Farve most likely will quit after this season

Another Wisconsinfag here. The whole point of RETIREMENT is to stay the fuck away from the next season. It's Ok to come out of retirement for the 2009 season, but to retire after the 2007 and come back for the 2008 isn't retirement!

It's reasons like this why I have pride as a 49er's fan, even in all thier complete sucktitude for the last 7 or so years.
