/sp/ needs a fail league

You get points for your quarterback throwing interceptions, your running back fumbling, your defense giving up points.

That way I can draft Rax Grissman.

Fool. RBs are the most vital selection in the first round. Therefore, I call Reggie Bush.

can that be done? that would be epic.

One qb, two wr, one rb, one defense, one K

QB - points for interceptions, incompletions, lose points for yards thrown, completions, and touchdowns
WR - points for playing and fumbles, lose points for catches, yards and touchdowns
RB - get points for fumbles and rushing attempts, lose points for yards and touchdowns
K - get points for misses, lose points for PATs and FGs
DEF - gain points for opponents touchdowns and fgs, lose points for sacks, interceptions and fumbles recovered

bonus for getting thrown out of the game or suspended

just looking at yahoo custom league, and you can assign points for sacks, interceptions, and negative points for TDs.

the problem is yards, you can't assign negative points for receiving, rushing, or passing

i'm too lazy to do this shit by hand

OP here. Thanks alot shithead. Not only did you hijack my thread but now I joined your league!
>> Anonymous
>>225667
thanks, i fixed that, and changed it to 5. 10 points is too much, even though missing a PAT is such an epic fail.

should passing TD's be a bigger penalty? is the made FGs too much? is there a better way to score RBs and WRs? remember, there has to be an incentive to play them, or else there's no point.

going to grab some grub, be back in about half an hour.

ok i'm back. just looking it over again, i think the rushing attempts should be worth 0.5. it'd be too easy to rack up points otherwise, regardless of how many touchdowns you score. to balance that, i put fumbles lost at 4 points, and fumbles at 2. this should also help QBs score more, since they're going to get raped on completions.

i also lowered the penalty for made FGs and upped defensive points allowed. otherwise, they'd be scoring negative points every game.

awesome

i'm done tweaking for now.

after you join, if you go to players, sort by position, and sort by fantasy points, you can see how well the players would have done under the current point system.

for example, for QBs, jon kitna led the league with 248 points, followed by eli manning, then vince young. these are season totals - injuries and benchings have to be taken into account, so i'm sure someone like alex smith scored much higher game to game, and he's still relatively in the top tier.

the hardest stat to tweak was kicking. right now they're still all worthless, but i didn't want to make the points so high that one miss could win you that week. although that would be fitting, considering how it is in real life.

any suggestions are appreciated.

this wins, but the problem is an easy way to win is to start nobody at any position other than QB (sexy rexy, joey harrington, alex smith etc) and defense (bengals, lions, falcons etc).
>> PhilKenSebben !qNgkjhpu0A
>>225822

If they do that, can't the commish DQ them?
>> Anonymous
This is amazing

I signed up, and plan on hoisting the Rax Grissman Memorilol Trophy at the end of the year
>> Anonymous
>>225822
that's why you get points for receptions and rushing attempts/fumbles. that way you have incentive to play the players. if you sort the stats, the "top" RBs are worth almost as much as the QBs.

the only position where you might be better off benching is kicker. but i'm considering upping the points per miss. it might give them too much power, but if you think about it, real games are won and lost by kickers anyway.
>> Anonymous
i was fiddling with it some more, and you CAN penalize for yardage, by rewarding players for negative yardage/no gain.

shit, this will require some more tweaking. i want to give each position the proper value.
>> Anonymous
>>225962
Make 'em even.

Make sure you can't start a guy who's hurt or who doesn't play much and get a lot of points. Make it so you have to start guys who actually play a lot.

Fuck, RMD signed up. Commish, please kick him out

yeah. that's the point of rewarding attempts. if you ran 40 times for 40 yards and fumbled twice, you had a heckuva day.

the two big issues are kicking, and trying to tweak the numbers so i don't excessively reward receiving RBs who catch short passes, but at the same time make sure high yardage is penalized.

Sadney Corsby, ready to kick all your asses.

how many teams in the epic fail league

one more suggestion...limit transactions per week to like two or something, or else everybody will just try to pick up guys who are playing against good teams that week
>> Anonymous
>>226010
but won't they have to drop a player as a result? it's not like there are a ton of guys who both suck and play a lot.

what does everyone else think? should i put a limit on free agents?

i capped it at 14. it's a lot of teams, but since this is for fun, i figured the more the merrier. which should also make the FA pool slim pickings.
>> Anonymous
>>226025
If there are seven players starting, two transactions a week is plenty

The LT of our league is Reggie Bush...117 fantasy points

That is beautiful
>> Anonymous
>>226033
okay, changed.

what about playoffs. right now i have it at week 15, 16 and 4 teams.
>> Anonymous
>>226048
sounds good...or you could go to six teams for weeks 15, 16 and 17...but this way is fine

You did a nice job dickhead
>> Anonymous
i'll probably double the point totals. not just for aesthetics, but to keep the incentive high for not benching. just have to keep the ratio intact. cuz right now there are so many negative point traps, 5 points is a monster week.

also, it's interesting to note that rex had 88 points in 8 games last season. 8 fucking games. him and orton would be a beastly combo.
>> Anonymous
Oh, man can't wait to see how this one ends up -either awesome or a train wreck. I'm Epic Fail Guys in this.
>> Anonymous
okay, point totals doubled. there's no way you can get away with benching a player now.

i thought i had screwed up when i saw adrian peterson's name. but it was the other guy.
