Shut up about 2004

The Yankees had three failures in Lieber, Brown, and Vasquez. Shields, Garza, and Sonnanstine are not old and full of epic fail. Also remember who was on that team, he played left field. Where is he now?

13-2. I thought Boston would find a way to respond to the 9-1 blowout they suffered yesterday, but somehow they got WORSE. At least the Red Sox were hitting consistently against Garza. Aside from a freak HR, they haven't been able to do ANYTHING to Sonnastine until the 7th.

Yes, Yawkey was a racist. Yes, the team was the last to integrate in the MLB.

Yawkey died 32 years ago. The integration problem? That was in the fucking '50s.

Just can't stop shit talking a team you just so happen to dislike, can you, /sp/?

When Philadelphia regularly boos their players even when they're performing well? When New Yorkers throw batteries at opposing outfielders? "The Red Sox are a better example of a melting pot, but they are not just a cultural melting pot. The Sox are a blend of players young and old, gifted and ordinary, wealthy and hungry. The pieces — from Manny Ramirez to Dustin Pedroia, Daisuke Matsuzaka to Jonathan Papelbon — could not be more disparate. But somehow, under the leadership of manager Terry Francona, they all pull toward a common goal."

Direct quote from Rosenthal in an article posted May 27th of this year. He is trying to stir up some shit.

>> Anonymous
>>406062

To be fair, Philadelphia is the #4 media market and Tampa-St. Petersburg is the #12. There could be much smaller markets to make the World Series. Think Pittsburgh-Kansas City.
>> Anonymous
>>406064

The City of Philadelphia is not allowed to win championships outside of arena football, so rays sweep.

Who's going to win?
>> Anonymous
>>406064
they wont lol
>> Anonymous
>>406106
Neither. They both are so bad, that a baffled MLB refuses to declare either the winner.
>> Anonymous
>>406106
Fuck no.

Orioles over Pirates in 5. That's what i've been saying for years, it'll come true next year.
>> Anonymous
>>406098
Not to mention the fact that the Rays have been the darlings of the season and I'm sure that will get ratings at the very least. Maybe not as much as a Boston-Dodgers WS would, but there'll be people watching it.

That said the Rays are now up 3-1 and whatever advantages the Red Sox have had at home don't seem to faze the Rays. I don't think the series will end Thursday, though, as Matsuzaka is pitching and he seems to be the only pitcher on the entire Red Sox team that's actually shown up for this series.
