The NBA draft confuses me. As an ACC/SEC follower and the only sport I care about being basketball, I usually latch on to the NBA draft and follow everything about it because it's all I have left.
The one year in college rule is pretty good, it probably will keep us from having an equivalent to Kwame Brown, but all it really did was instead of making executives look at insane highschool stats to judge players [when the best college players usually had those same insane stats..] they look at guys who know they'll be there one year lobbying for a lottery pick.
I don't really know where I'm going with this, and my bias aside..I can't believe Chris Lofton isn't projected even as a second round [Seriously, if Trajan Langdon was a first rounder, why can't this guy be in the 2nd at LEAST.] Same with Sean Singletary, he's a scoring talent, can get to the rim and is an above average passer..he can't be THAT much worse than D.J. Augustine. Singletary didn't have any success due to being in the ACC and having a pretty average team overall, but Lofton was at a solid program which did really well.
I get that it's about body type, overall athleticism, potential to build. But it's also to much about big Programs ignoring guys who put up solid numbers and weren't completely lobbying for a position. I get that Singletary is no Beasley in terms of statistics, but he put up solid numbers his whole career and is getting looked over.
[note that i'm actually not a Virginia fan or a Vols fan, 1 and Sean will probably go late 2nd..]
>>18706 As a Duke fan, he shouldn't be drafted and he won't pan out. He doesn't even have the Duhon factor of managing to be decent after disappointing in college..whatever that is
