hey /hoc/, NHL tickets are really expensive and as a college student, I really can't afford them.

Also, my school doesn't have a hockey team so i can't just go to their games.

If I were able to by season tickets to a minor league hockey team (pic related), would this be the best alternative in order to watch good hockey and not pay out of my ass for it?

whats your question? what league?

ECHL hockey is okay. Competition level is high, considering. If you weren't born and raised on the NHL, you won't be able to tell much of a difference.

I'm asking if this is a good option, or is it worth it, rather. I'm currently in delaware, so the only team in a reasonable distance from me is the Philly Phantoms in the AHL

1) Phantoms are always entertaining.
2) Get the fuck out of Delaware as fast as you possibly can. Almost anywhere except Cleveland is an upgrade.

I go to college here. My hometown is actually in New Jersey. I consider this an upgrade.

Getting back to OPs original problem: I'd say it's a good idea, if you really like to watch hockey. It would really depend on the league, but the AHL is a pretty good league, you'll get to see the good talent way before the average NHL fans know about it.

Another option is to buy the Center Ice package via broadband. It's probably less than a season ticket package, but then again you don't get to go to live games.
