New Guy
Hey /po/. I've been browsing here and really want to get into papercraft. I just need to know what materials I need ie specific kinds of paper and whatnot. Thanks. Also, pic not related

I just use regular printer paper, regular cheap-ass glue from the nearest minimarket and regular scissors and occasionally a tiny carpet knife for tricky parts. Haven't been doing these for such a long time myself either, but with some 50 models done, this combination of tools has been working great for me ^^

I wonder if many people think that you need some special stuff in order to do papercrafts o_O I'm probably gonna get bitchslapped by some elite /po/rson for being so commonplace.

well I always thought you might have needed card stock or something. I used to do origami but that was all on you know origami paper, just this really thin stuff.

I wanted to get into this stuff too, so any links for newbies would be appreciated by me

you do realise that since /po/ was spammed and cleaned several times, so none of the threads on this topic are around anymore. Also people are allowed to ask questions about what they are interested in.

Most of the spamming got cleared out, this question is asked approx every 4-5 days

Guh someone just asked this yesterday (or was it the day before). I stick with regular printer paper, that's the 8 1/2 by 11 inch white paper. As for other material, you need 1) Scissor for cutting 2) Printer for printing 3) Glue for gluing (I use elmers glue, squirt out a pool onto a piece of paper that I'm not using, and I apply it to the papercraft with a toothpick. 4)Papercraft template 5) A brain

alot of people seem to have trouble finding #5 you mentioned

Sorry guys, I didn't know this had been asked so many times. Thanks for the advice!

That's it. I'm creating a page of text to go online so we can just direct people to that link for getting the basic papercraft and origami questions solved. I know most of the papercraft ones off the top of my head, since they're asked about every 48 hours, but there are some things on the origami side that I will look up before considering that part complete. Now whether or not I actually complete/update the page will be another story. But I will get it started.

The other thread from a person asking about how to make papercraft templates magically go from being on a computer to making a 3D figure is here:

Why isn't a sticky with the most common questions made?

...oh, right. The stick'll be ignored anyway :P
