HI! I really want a spiky walker but they're not yet released, I have created a 3d model of it (the best I could do, I have no 3d modelling experience.) Can we work together to make this into a viable papercraft project?

My 3d model is located at
http://rapidshare.com/files/29620491/walker.zip.html

I have uploaded a photo of it to the left here.
You can download the spiky baby models here
http://rapidshare.com/files/29358069/ShinTanaka_SpikyBaby_1-7_Collection.zip.html

They are supposed to fit inside of the spiky walker, so i included a link here to help you make the spiky walker the correct size. Please, if you can donate a little of your time, help us out. Many of us want this spiky walker, and I have already done all that I can, now I need your help. Please.

Come on man, i made the stupid model i just need someone to run it through pepakura, please??
>> spiky walker rojo
I ran your model through pepakura, and well,it needs some work. You can't just drop these things in and have it magically unfold. Pepakura takes time and patience. I have fixed some, if not all, of the artifacts and oddities from your model. Give me a couple of days and you will have your walker.

Thank you so much! I did the best I could to get the ball rolling, I hope you don't have to completely re-do the model but if you do then please rest assured that many people are looking for this model and you will be doing a service to more than just me, either way you have my sincere gratitude!

Not to worry. I re-did the model in cinems 4d based on your model. I'm coloring and re-sizing today. I was gonna do a yellow one like on Shin's site, but I'll probably do a bunch of others as well.

I am beta-building it right now. I have it customized for 4chan, it will come with a custom spiky baby as well. I need to add weathering and fix some colors. It is fitting perfectly and is really big!

awesome dude thanks a ton, like i said i dont have much modelling experience so i hope the model i made did help you out somewhat, thanks again, a LOT of us have been looking forward to this for a long time. Do you think I could make more models for you to put through pepakura? I was thinking i could make more "spiky walker" models with different attributes, like maybe a big spider-walker or one that transports multiple spikies, let me know how interested you are in pursuing this, i wouldnt mine spending my time to make the models so long as you wouldnt mind doing the rest :)

let me know

I was joking!! being sarcastic because the b&w render is way too fuzzy, it needs to have sharp clear cut lines!

I finished the beta of the 'community project' walker. This one has no weathering or texturing applied. Also the body is not square, it's more of a 'widescreen' version (a quick fix). Here's the first pix, template maybe tomorrow if there is interest.

I'm not a big fan of the spikies, but this walker is awesome. I might have to hack it into one of kid koala's robots.
Good job guys! This is what /po/ is made of: Wins and community.

Thanks guys. This thing is pretty big, too, about 8" tall. That is a full-sized spiky baby at the helm. I made a small space at the front of the 'box' that it sits in so the feet will fit. To put the spiky in, you just fold it's hands under it and tuck it in the walker.

I have already thought of several design ideas for the spiky walker, feel free to post yours and I can vectorize them. Pepakura sucks for these geometric shapes, I'm having better luck just going at it by hand.

Wtf? Pepakura was MADE for geometric shapes; don't blame the tools... ;)
But it certainly is a design easy enough to do by hand, and you did a great job, kudos!
