Anyone with Canti? Anonymous
Are there any FLCL papercrafts out there? Figured Canti would be the easiest to make.

bump for FLCL papercraft!!!

all I've got are some art book profile images. I do love FLCL so I may add this to my list of things to model... but it would take me forever because I haven't modeled in a while let alone turn it into a smooth template...

here's the cast from the front. It should be high enough res to use it as a reference image for modeling... the arms'll have to be a bit of a guess... but there is plenty of material to fill in that space

I've never used Pepakura but from what I understand you have to start with a 3d model. Since one of those isn't available could it be made in 3d Studio Max 7? That's what I use at school.

How would ya feel about the little robot dude who eats cellphones? He would be pretty easy even for a scratch build...
>> jamis
heck yea it could be! as far as I have tried papekura only likes polygons but you can probably hack small simple curves with it as well.

If ya wanna try it out, attempt making a cube with a fair number of divisions along all three axis and extrude some legs, a head and a tail, add a cylinder with a low poly count for the "eye"/"leash-attachment-point" and then export it as a 3ds file.

Load it in pepakura and ya should be able to hit develop and get a papercraft for the little guy I just posted. obviously it'd take tweaking but it's doable...

Canti the 'bot would take some massive nurbs modeling and I'm not sure how pepakura plays with shapes made of curves instead of polygons. It'd probably take a fair amount of hacking the overall shape into sections of simple curves.

as a rough draft... I forgot to add the face, the teeth, the leash, the coloring...... but it's damn doable.

hell it's a good way of practicing going from reference images to a template if nothing else...

Did the japanese release any official papercraft books on FLCL? I read an interview with the creator who said FLCL never really caught on in Japan but hit it big in the US.

are they the same ones already posted? if not.. i dunno, imageshack or something? rofl. i don't have any prejudices against hosting sites XD

btw im redoing the groin cause the one i did before sucked. the torso is also gonna be hard, cause the shape isn't that clear.. but i should be able to make a nice simple groin quickly.

ETA for this is like, a week i guess. maybe a week from saturday?

thanks for the support dudes <3
