Almost finished. Well, the hard part's over, now it's just pure fun (aligning these parts on the pages). Coloring of the broken textures will be a piece of cake as well. I'll also have to edit the cape to make it a bit more flexible.
>> Skubu
Wow, vincent!
whould love to build it.

I wanted to make a companion for lonely Cloud and my friend asked me to make Vincent, so I began working on him. The template should be finished tomorrow, then I'll have to make a testbuild and after the weekend you should see him released.

Nice, /po/ welcomes all new papercrafts! ;)
But there seem to be some problems in the 3D model (indicated by the thick red lines in Pepakura Designer). You need to fix this (and any other things you're not happy with) in the 3D model itself: Pepakura is just an "unfolder" and can't fix the 3D model itself.
>> Anonymous
wow, that thing looks like crap, can't you smooth it out a little bit?
>> Anonymous
>>46207
It's the Final Fantasy 7 battle model as used in the game: low poly, blocky/bulky.
It's a matter of taste wether or not you like easy papercrafts made from simple shapes like this one, or very difficult ones.
There's no reason for OP to try and make it more detailed, you can just skip building this one and build another one you do like. ;)
>> Skubu
Have anybody a 3D-Model of Vincent?
Or where can i find such Models?

@>>46191:
Which program u use to rip the 3D-Model or did u rebuild the Cloud-Model?
>> chamoo232
>>46208
actualy the chibby blocky models are the world models and the battle models are more detailed and proportional. but since they are designed the same way its easier to fix all the joints on the blocky model
>> Anon
I want so bad. will go with the cloud model well.^_^
>> Anon
Btw did you make the original cloud? Are you going to make vincent the same scale?
>> Anonymous
congrats on the chibi vincent! I still cant find a chibi reno >.< anyone help?

>Which program u use to rip the 3D-Model or did u rebuild the Cloud-Model?
LGPtools to rip, biturn to convert, SketchUp to edit the model.

>>46236
I made Cloud, Vincent should be about the same scale.
>> Anon
Cool can't wait for a release. you definately have my download.

who do you think you will make next if anybody?
>> Psycomega
Wow, want badly. If I remember correctly, you were the one with the Cloud project messing with the spikes on his head.
Could you possibly upload Cloud's template, or give a link to it?

Okay guys, I will be unfolding in a moment, but first I need some help. For some reason Pepakura Designer removed the eyes textures and when I try to re-apply them, it multiplies the image. I tried resizing, cropping the image, but it makes almost no change. Of course I could apply the textures on the unfolded model, but if anyone could help me, it would be appreciated.

>>46327
I'm sure there will be more models, but I don't know what will it be yet.

>>46332
Nope, I'm almost totally new to this thing. I'm the Klein bottle man, if you remember that. Also,

Sounds like the UV Map is wrong (likely isn't even there). Pepakura just reads the UV Map that should be on the 3D model, it doesn't edit anything on the 3D model itself. Fix in the 3D model, not in Pepakura.
>> Psycomega
>>46335
Sorry, can't quite remember that, only a vague memory of someone asking if it was possible to make a Klein bottle. *Shrug* Sounds neat though, what was it about if you mind me asking?

If you do another one, may I suggest Cid?
Reno would be nice, but that requires you to make Rude, too. Have fun with it though, don't make it like work.

I'm sorta interested in this now, how easy to use is the designer?

Thanks for the link, I forgot about rapidsearch...

See pic.

If there will be enough people asking for them, I might do Reno and then Rude.

>I'm sorta interested in this now, how easy to use is the designer?

It's very easy and fun to use, the hard part is preparing the model
>> Psycomega
>>46341
I see, nice bottle.
In that case, I might try it out. Being that I'll only have to get ahold of the models and the designer, it doesn't seem so bad.

Like the guy (>>46338) said: just do the stuff YOU like to do. Then if anybody else happens to like the same stuff you do then they're lucky (c'mon: it's Final Fantasy, OF COURSE there's gonna be lots of people that will love ANY character you make ;)

>>46342Being that I'll only have to get ahold of the models and the designer, it doesn't seem so bad.
Actually, you'll have to do some 3D modelling as well, so you'll need a program for that as well (lots of free programs for that, just Google for one or use SketchUp, many people here do). That's what>>46341meant by preparing the model. But these are very simple 3D models, so it doesn't require you to be with 3D modelling, you just need some basic skills. Using Pepakura isn't difficult, making a good papercraft with Pepakura can be. The most important thing is to visualize how the papercrafts needs to come together when printed, and set the appropriate cut and fold edges, and place the glueing flaps in the right place (for me there's usually a 50-50 percent chance Pepakura places it on the opposite edge from where I want it to be ;). This can be difficult sometimes, so a good tip would be to testbuild it yourself to see if you can fix some folds/cuts/flaps to make it even better before the final release. Or have somebody else (/po/?) do the testbuilding, just make sure we'll know it's just a testbuild and not the final release, or we'll just build it and usually people don't post their experiences building it here so you won't get the feedback you need...

Alright, no problem. it's something I might actually enjoy, or at least something to add to my résumé.
So what I need are the designer, the models, and a 3D model program.
SketchUp or something, and what was the name of the designer? 3D pepakura designer or something along those lines, right?

Also, one question. Why are the Cloud model's eyes so small? (Got it a few hours ago, just looked at it.) No offence, just wondering.
>> Rathalos
>>46371
the cloud model looks fine with that size of eyes. it just looks funy when it hasn't been assembled yet.
>> Psycomega
>>46407
I see...
Never mind then. Crazy how things'll do that, eh? It still looks like it needs to be about 50% bigger in the completed picture though.
Eh, if I have any problems with it, it's not like I can't change it. =P Nice craft either way.

The model is finished. It will obviously be delayed a bit, I'm having it printed after the weekend. Testbuild should have been finished till the end of the week. It's 7 pages of template, if you want to know.
