Anyone got tips for combining two triangles into one square? Would help plenty. I have SketchUp and MilkShape, if it helps.

In Sketchup, if two triangles are on the same plane (forming a flat polygon) you can simply delete the extra line to make it a square.

and if they aren't? :(

then make them!

otherwise it can't be a square.

I wonder if you could make it rounded, though. Would Pepakura take it as rounded or would it make its own fold?

If the angle is small enough, then it will auto-round it off.

So for cylinders, you want a lot of sides, I suppose.

I mean the line that's between the body of the shoe and the plane perpendicular to the ground. Just make it one Diagonal plane that connects them (into parts for the bend of the shoe of course)

How would that help plenty? In lowering the polycount? Forget about that, instead examine your model, imagine how it will unfold and what parts will turn out too difficult build that. Then re-design those parts so the WILL be easy to build.
It does not matter if the "leg cylinders" are made out of 10 triangles, or 5 squares. It's far more important to not think of the model as a hollow shell, and think about things like "do I really need 4 tiny extra parts for a bumpy knee?" ;)
The model looks very promising!

is that a program that turns it into paper for you? if so whats it called

Yeah, I removed the knees after thinking about it. It also turns out her boobs were too low, so I've moved them. I've got till December 15, plenty of time, yo.

okay i use 3ds max 2009, and this is solved with a simple tool, but that is beside my point. my question is if that program creates separate polys for every square it splits up into 4 triangles. if so isn't it horrible inefficient? wouldn't u get 4 times as many polys as needed?
