so a few days ago before that awesome anon who lieks to flood /po/ someone had found a picture of an assembled Mr. Saturn papercraft.

Wasn't Hako. Wasn't Cubeecraft. Wasn't this one, either.

Any luck for that to resurface?
>> Anonymous
I recall the picture, and my wantingness of the pattern.
>> Anonymous
It was an old Chokipeta papercraft so it's very unlikely we'll ever get it

please have faith anon

anon will deliver and we'll all be happy

did anyone keep that pic?

guess I'll just repost the picture for you

thats it. thats a big do want.

reverse engineering might have to happen.

Probably wouldn't be too difficult to someone with some modeling skills (ie not me, I suck). It's a fairly simple model, from the looks of the picture, the whiskers and the hair and bow are just 2d, like cutouts.
>> op
>>187104

yeah. Ive been staring at it for like five minutes now and I can see the tip of the nose is a cap w/slit to make the dome dealy, then strips for the rest of the nose.

the front of the face going back to the wiskers is all one or two pieces, with the same slits then the rounded body with strips capped with the dome cap deal. the feet would be the easiest part.

ive got it pretty much figured out in my head, but i dont want to build 20 failed attempts to get one working one...........right now.

Does this help OP?
>> op
>>187125

Very much so. That's exactly what I was trying to describe. You rock.

Did you find that or doodle it yourself?
>> Anonymous
>>187126

I doodled it myself.
>> op
>>187127

You should try to build on that. You have a solid design concept there.

bump.

or should I say "Boing!"

Ok here's what I've got so far, I know it's not much but right now I'm just testing out my idea of how the body goes together
>> op
freaking awesome.

please don't stop.

Body's Almost done just need to connect the strips that make it up and add a cap to the top.

Body should look something like this built

hmm, looks good, but I think it should be a bit more oval. Select the entire model and under Tools, select scale, drag the green box in the center on the left to stretch it out a bit. Keep up the good work!

Parts Made they just require some tweaking to get the right shape, also does anyone know how to cap of the ends in sketchup or will I have to do that manually?
>> Anonymous

first at the end make a circle and draw a shape like the one in the picture.
>> Anonymous

second use the follow me tool and grab the shape you created and drag it around the edges of the circle, also once you start the extrude if you move the cursor off the circle it will auto complete the extrude, hope this helps.
>> Anonymous
>>187502
almost forgot, after you extrude don't forget to delete the face of the circle inside of the extrude afterward or you'll get red lines in pep.

Thanks for the help but I get this when I open up in pep I think I'll do it manually :S

Well I'm going to bed, here's how He's looking currently, ignore the graphical glitches and crappy attempt at an eye texture I'll fix that tomorrow.

my bad, I knew I was forgetting something. When you select the arc tool, in the bottom right you will see a box that says sides. Here you can change the number of sides in the arc, In the pic I attached I used 4(12 is default)

sweet, this is looking good.

I must be missing something, because I have the face and the nose with the whiskers, but the five folds on the bottom seem very out of place.

Getting closer now just need to texture and tweak the shape a bit more, I finally got the caps to work the way I wanted them to.

Ok it's done and ready to test build :D It fits on one page and should end up about 7cm tall, also i'm going to go un-anonymous.
