Photographic papercraft Anonymous
Hey /po/

Most of you probably know the work of Bert Simons. He does the photographic human papercraft.
I was wondering if /po/ knows about anyone else that does this sort of work in papercraft. Not just with people but with photography of objects and etc.

Well, I made a model of my head a LONG time before bert did, but I never papercrafted it. If I had the 3d model still, I would.

I'm pretty sure every one with a 3d application at one time tried or even created a 3d image of their head.

Claims like that just show that you are a tad jealous that some one else took the idea somewhat further.

That's how life is. Some one has an idea, but doesn't use it. Some one else has the same idea later and does use it. To bad, shit happens.

calling me jealous for not doing it already just based on what I said is a tad harsh.

I didn't know about papercraft until about a year and a half ago, but I did the 3d model quite a few years before that. The program I did it with wouldn't export to anything since it was still in beta, so I lost the model when the company that made the program vanished off the face of the earth and my beta support died, and soon after that the program's key timed out.

it was pretty cool stuff, though. It did motion capture without needing little stickers all over your face.

Can't remember the name of the software... 'face'-something? bah.

Good news is that there's a product that Autodesk just bought that builds 3d models using photos, but I don't think it's advanced enough to do faces yet. http://www.realviz.com/
