I still don't understand why it's such a big deal to know how to do that. I used to do it on accident because of an error that has since been fixed.
There are two types of greentext on 4chan. One is the name field. As long as there is nothing in the e-mail field, the name will turn up green. If there is something in the e-mail field, it turns blue. The other type of green text involves using this character: > Put it before the text you want to turn green. To end it, press enter or something liek that.
To the whole nerdish argument: I'm an artist, and /po/ is one of the ways I advertise or test some of the things I'm up to. Quite a few others on /po/ are also artists, especially the ones that work on making models. There is a lot involving math, art, architecture, and engineering that goes into figuring out how to get paper to go from being 2D to 3D.
