anybody know if there's a papercraft model of Gray Fox's helmet out there somewhere? I'd like to make one that's wearable (eventually) but I'm kind of new to this stuff and don't of any good resources. Google hasn't been any help.I'm currently trying to model it in Blender around a model of my own head except I suck at modeling heads.

not the best tutorial but it's looking like I have no other choice. right now I'm trying to see if it's possible to rip the model from the PC version of the game but it probably won't help considering how low poly it is.
You might try ripping the model from the Gamecube version.
haven't actually played that one, but I guess I should check it out
Wouldn't it be easier to extract the model from the PC version?
how about this model? I made that a while ago to make a bust but never completed it
>>179305Nice! do you have it uploaded somewhere?>>179297apparently not. it uses DirectX 7 for rendering, and the only extractor I've found for DirectX requires the application to use version 9 or greater. there's also this: http://metalgear.turfster.be/ but it only works for MGS 2 and Twin Snakes. so I'm going to get Twin Snakes now and see how that goes. (from what I understand, gray fox didn't appear in MGS 2?)
One model and then two other will come soon. They are created by phh29/PH3DM from "le forum en papier".You will find them here when the models will be released:http://www.maquettes-papier.net/forumenpapier/ftopic4266.php
sweet! i wonder if anyone can re-color it to make Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden? :)
>>179385There's already a Ryu model on bongo. It looks pretty good too.
>>179333Technically Grey Fox wasn't in MGS2, but there is another character that wears the same exoskeleton suit in the game.
>>179392the ninja from mgs2 has a different design made to look like gray fox but has alot of differences.
By the way, is there any Gray Fox papercraft? I mean, not the helmet, but the whole body.
>>179392He is in MGS2:Substance, though.
Any complaints about the proportions so far?I've tried going by that picture from the MGS artbook and a couple of profile shots of my own head which ended up being a horrible mess together. It also sucks that the Gray Fox sketches don't seem to have normal proportions (ie, the width of the eyes seems to change in different pictures to accomodate that light or whatever in the middle of the helmet). So I kind of tried to wing it a little.
While we're talking MGS, is there any progress on the Mantis Doll model? If none, can someone pass me by the 3D model data?
>>179496there is no progress and no data. it was only an idea and a screenshot
>>179499What? Aww, man.
>>179493ots loks like the lego robots head mask
>>179620Ok... any suggestions then?
[keep in mind I'm just asking if the proportions look alright; the colours are only there so you can actually see the individual pieces]
>>179645place the eyes lower. the distance from the light to the chin and the light to the top of head should be about the same and make the yellow area of the chin slimmer
I'm going to try making those changes, but I need the proportions to match my own as well. Sorry, I hate to ask for advice and then ignore it like this. :(But thanks, I do appreciate your advice.
