Hello /po/.

I was just referred here from a different board, and I must say I am really interesting in this. Is there any indications and recommendations you could give to someone who has no experience at all with this kind of things? From materails to some beginner friendly designs, I'm open to anything you can give me.

Pic unrelated since I have nothing that is.

if you are the op, ignore the trolls, we have a rather nasty strain thats taken up residence on the board.

also please lurk as much as possible, kk, we get a lot of threads like this every week.

Basically you'll need a cutting tool (ie exacto blade), something to cut on/over( cutting mat), some sort of adhesive (wood glue), probably something to apply the glue with (ie toothpicks), paper and templates.

For paper, general copy paper is fine if you don't mind yourmodels being a bit limp when finished. If you're going to do a really complex model tho, like the innerbrain EVA's it'd be better to use very light cardstock (like 65 gsm or something).

Models; theres tonnes of nice simple and good looking models around. Try the plus4chan /po/ archive and paperkraft.net. also; this rapidshit link has a nice big bunch of easy models.

Thanks a lot man. I'll check them out first thing tomorrow.

Also, is there a problem with normal white glue or the sticks? I'd like to use thing that I already have in my house.

nah, white glue is fine, I just prefer using wood glue and toothpicks just so i don't get grotty fingers

Regular paper is 75-80 gsm, so I think this is a typo? Most people use anywhere between 120-200 gsm.
