I'm looking for a cutting mat for my new craft knife but the ones at Wal-Mart were over 10 dollars for just a tiny little strip! Is there anywhere where I can get a cheap and reasonably sized one for around 5 dollars? Otherwise, I'll just have to keep on using a piece of cardstock.

If you go to college or anything you can order them though there for cheaper. Or better still do what I did and steal and A3 fancy one.

buy yourself a self healing mat, it will save you money
if you use other mats, you will need to go through them
if you use a plank of wood or hard surface, you have a chance of pulling through the paper
it also dullens ur knife, which are costly

/po/eple want to spend the spare time they have making papercrafts, not sharpening their knives all the time. Wood is not a great surface to use as a "cutting mat", since you will always be cutting into it (can't be helped) and it will HEUGELY effect the rate at which your knife will get dull.
