Making Hardened Models of Papercraft Models? Anonymous
I've been thinking of making hard plaster models of several papercrafts, but...is it possible? All you'd really need to do is make a mold of the paper model, but it's just too soft to mold into clay. Any ideas on how to go about making molds of papercraft designs?

Tape the outside, pour in silicone. Wait to dry, pour clay over silicone cast.

Cut holes in the top, fill the model with sand, seal the holes.

The fellow in charge of Erick's Paper Models appears to be making a plastic version of the Kadesh Needleship from Homeworld. Too bad he hasn't explained the process yet...

If you want a resin model, all you have to do is build the parts, seal them with some sort of sealing spray, and make a silicone mold.

using cardstock would probably be your best bet, combined with some sorta sealant...
But I've never done so.

Did you check the japanese gallery as well? They are different:
Anyways, i found the file:

First contains the body and head, second the stand. 7zip (for example), can extract from .lzh

i would just pack the models in clay or something and cast metal through it. the metal will burn out the paper and fill the gaps

it would be really cool to just embed that thing in casting resin... you'd have to seal it first, though.
