I want this. But I don't want to pay $30 and have to get a kit shipped from GERMANY (shipping charges plus lots of time). So does anyone have scans of the template? I know its got "bearings" and a "low friction crankshaft" but they seem like they could be made with music wire and some bits of coffee straws.

It's a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stirling_engine">Stirling Engine</a> made of paper, that works.

Sorry, I should have elaborated on what it was a bit instead of just leaving an image like an asshat. Yeah, it's an ENGINE thet runs off of COFFEE (or any hot/cold drink for that matter) by using the temerature differential in the air around it and the liquid below it to turn the piston.

wait but wouldn't the steam weaken the cardstock?

please.

The top plate of the base is made of aluminium. Apparently it's the cooling part of the engine. It won't work without it.

Actually, you can cut a piece of aluminum can of heavy-duty foil to stand in for the plate.

As for the weakening of the paper, you can spritz the pieces with laquer.

Here's the english assembly instruction for that model. No parts though.
