Mothership Display Yoji
Testing, testing... *ahem!*

So, I'm about to finish a model of the Kharak Mothership, but I want to hang it from some thread instead of putting it on a stand. This thing took about 14 pages and more ink than I was comfortable with, so I was wondering how you folks with experience might go about this. Anything I should avoid, reliable tricks, that kinda thing would be greatly appreciated.

Here's where I got the template, by the way.

They've got a whole bunch of other ships that my previous link didn't have, including the Taiidani Heavy Cruiser.

in answer to your question yoji, the way i like to hang stuff is make a few loops of light-coloured thread, tape the open end of the loop to the ceiling, and put the loopy bits around a couple of protrusions. This way, you dont have to get tape on the model and risk ripping off colouring. although, from the looks of it, it'll be hard to make that level with this method..

If you don't want it falling to the ground after a while, poke a small bit of t-shaped plastic through the top of the ship. Much like how they attach price tags to clothing. Then tie the thread to the piece of plastic now petruding out of the ship.

get a small wall hook and screw it into the roof, make a loop in other end of thread and hang.

Perhaps, since it has that flat zone on the top, two tiny holes (1/128") and invisible thread? Wrap the thread around a tiny rod, slide through the hole, and when the rod rotates inside the model it would form an anchor.
