How do I shot template? Anonymous
'sup, /po.

I'm trying to make an original paper figure to represent my character in a roleplaying game, and I was wondering what programs to use to create the template. I have plenty of Photoshop experience, but I'm finding it difficult to get the measurements right - and vector drawing programs aren't much better.

Anyone have tutorials for this sort of thing?

Pic unrelated.

Just start cutting and pasting shit up: construct a crude torso for your model, add on cruder body parts. If they appear out of proportion, re-do them. That'll give you a good sense of proportion in the model, and a decent starting point.

i would suggest 1 of two things.
1) get a 3d program (ie. maya, cinema4d, milkshape ect.) design a low poloygon model of the character you want. texture it in the 3d program. export the model and texture in .obj format. then use a program called pepakura designer to generate the unfolding pattern.
or
2)get a template that someone else made, and use it as reference to create what you want. Edit it in a vector, or photoshop type program and you my friend are done.
