First try at papercrafting, how's this? Sass
My first papercraft build, is 2 inches tall and the kitty's box is 2 inches wide, painstakingly small and glued together with a toothpick.

That's okay! ;)

You're off to good start. Welcome to the wonderful world of the the cutting folding and gluing of paper to make manifest 3D forms.

This kitty is named Shii. She's one of the many ASCII characters that were created on the Japanese BBS 2ch. ^^ She doesn't look too bad. :)

The kana usually displayed on shii's cardboard box says that her name is pronounced Shii, but for some reason there's still some debate as to how to spell it in English. Some variations have been Shi, She, and C. She is the girlfriend of Giko, one of the two really popular SJIS cats on 2ch.net, Mona being the other one. She is extremely beautiful, but was abandoned by her owner some time ago.

I've made the Giko, Mona, and Onigiri wasshoi dancers, but I haven't gotten around to making Shii yet. I really should do that.

Here are two links to a swf file featuring Shii. The second url is just in case you decide that you want to save it on your computer. Just use the link and choose save page as.

I forgot to mention that Giko is the cat that's walking past Shii in the flash file, and the one that Shii dreams about being a couple with. OmaeMona is a reference to Mona. The quote that made him famous is "Omae Monaa!" meaning "you too." The 4chan equivalent is No U.

I've heard of more than one version of how Mona came about, and the most entertaining one is as follows:
A troll was on the 2ch.net SJIS art board. He posted a character saying roughly that the people on the board had too much time on their hands if they were doing things like this. Someone copied and pasted the character saying you too, since obviously the troll had to take some time to actually make Mona. Thus the character became known as Mona, and omae monaa became his famous saying.

I searched earlier when Anon posted her name was Shii, Now I remember the flash video :D That was long ago I had seen it.

What this pdf is titled just goes to show me how many versions of shii's name there are. This one is Si. Anyway, here's the template you requested. I'll probably just go through and post all of the character templates I got off of that site.

Giko saying "Itteyoshi," kind of the equivalent of go away and die. It sounds like he's saying go away in Japanese, but the kanji at the beginning means to die, so he's telling the user to die away.

Mona, which you can make with or without the arms.

This is onigiri. I forget the entire phrase that they say, but it always ends in wasshoi, which I've never found a meaning for. There are a few different variations of them, but they almost always come in threes. This template only has enough for one onigiri, so you can either just settle for one, or print out more. When I made this one, I remember that I had made a page that held 2 onigiri dancers on just one page, but I don't know if I still have it. Sorry about that.

This one's kuma. He is shown here with the stripe on his chest, which differentiates him from our pedobear, which we got from kuma. Some people have said that kuma's hobby of liking to be around cute young women is how he got known as pedobear on 4chan, but I've also heard a story about a conversation kuma was having over the phone with Osaka on 4chan's /b/ board, which became slightly more provocative as the thread grew in length, leading to the eventual title of pedobear.

And finally, suman. I actually don't know the history behind this one, but I know it usually comes at the end of a sentence where someone is saying an apology and seems to be a kind of emphasis for really meaning it, rather than sarcasm. I have a statue that someone found of a character bowing in much the same manner as suman that I might post after this is done uploading.

I jsut pulled out the figurines of the three I've made so far, so I wanted to clarify what they're saying in Japanese. Mona is saying Omae Monaa, the onigiri trio are saying Onigiri Wasshoi, and Giko is saying something other than his most famous phrase itteyoshi. I'll have to look that one up, because I don't know what the kanji are.

Anyway, here's the suman statue, and Sass, I'm glad that we Anonymous have been able to help you on your quest for Shii enlightenment.

Post quoted, That is the template I used yes! Comes out so small as normal print too.

Yeah. The stand to the three I've made takes up more space than the character and its sign. Mona is a little smaller than Giko and Onigiri, but since I haven't put Shii together yet, I don't know her relative size. For those who are wondering just how small these papercrafts are, Mona is a little over 1.25 inches, while the body alone for the Giko and Onigiri are one inch, and their heads are about half that height again. They're not the hardest small papercrafts I've put together, but if they were more complex than these, then they definitely would be.

Sass, I'm honestly surprised that you did so well with your first papercraft. You're a natural. Oh, and I found the page I made for printing off 2 onigiri wasshoi characters at once, so I'll post that here.

I forgot that the original templates for these are all made for A4 cardstock. I wondered why I had been messing with the templates of these before I made them. Also, I made Shii last night. Yay! Here's Shii, but made to fit on US letter paper. Same goes for the ones that I post after this. Oh, and the onigiri 2 and 3 pdf is made to fit on US letter paper as well.

US letter Giko

To make sure people understand, I haven't been shrinking these to fit to the page. They're the same size as the A4 letter ones, but the text has been removed to make for more space. I think I might have translated the parts to some of these as well.
