Well, I had to start unfolding all over again cause my son decided he was going to push the reset button on my comp. when I was almost done with it. So now I'm saving my progress like every 5 mins. I did get the keyblade and Auron's sword unfolded though. Haven't built them yet though

hey I appreciate that! Progress is going well, I was having problems with the textures missing when I exported but I got that worked out now. One other problem I'm having is the textures seem to get pretty pixelated, is there a way to increase the resolution or resize without pixelating the textures(bmp). Don't want to release a fail model, you know?

I just know that there are software that can increase the resolution of a bmp image...it does this by adding more pixels through out the picture based on the surrounding pixels...so not sure how the quality will turn out..

sorry if this is taking too long guys I want to make sure this model comes out nice. Kingdom Hearts is one of my all time favs. This texture thing is driving me friggin nuts, I resized the one I needed but every time I import it and apply it to the face I need it on sketchup automatically downsizes it for some reason, I then have to stretch it back out resulting in pixelation, I will post a screencap of what I'm talking about in a few.

it does that when you open the 3d model. some programs just dont open 3d models right and change the perspective and screw up and twist everything. thanks guys, I figured out what I did. I made a noobish mistake, when I imported the file in sketchup it wasn't lined up on axis so when I rescaled it, it pulled it in different directions. Doh! Oh well it was a learning experience

Yes, you can resize it yourself if you're good with using photo editing programs. But I advise that you shouldn't try. It would cost so much ink to print out the pieces on paper. And the video game 3d model is a little too blockily sharp to look good in real life size. But people have printed out layouts of keyblades before but only as a template to make their cosplay wooden lifesized replicas.

Thanks, I found 'em on emuforums. I''m browsing through the models now, and have pretty much figured out their way of naming. So if you're looking at character models, you'll want to be with the models that begin with an H.
For example, H_EX(stands for extra I think, nondisney)500 is Sora, H_EX500_MAGF is the Wisdom Form, and NM is Nitemare Town costume.
LAST means it's a characters last form, so Xemnas = H_EX660 and final form H_EX660_LAST.

Axel, who you can find as early as B_EX110 (Xemnas is B_EX170 as well, but I'll pay that no mind) has a FRIEND form, which has me puzzled.

Anyway, I'm getting type-lazy, so on with the browsing.

I'm using 3DRipperDX, just use the model viewer as the 3d application it needs to rip from, then when the model viewer displays "Ready" press F12.

Don't forget to tick the "Also rip into a Wavefront .obj and you're done. I've tried a model of blindfolded Riku who had the Oblivion keyblade for some odd reason, but it needs work and it's a sunday here, and I don't do work on sundays.

Bleh, I can't find it either. The dumper is unable to get the animation files used in special cutscenes so unless they are fightable the animation is unavailable.

There's a hooded Axel tho in N_EX780_RTN.mdlx with an animation that just stands there. Another alternative is to use the hooded Rikku (since he has Xenohart's body shape)

Is rigging your specialty, by any chance? It's not mines which is why I prefer ripping models that are already posed.

What specific pose do you want him to do? (...errr...not that I can help, but just curious)

Is it the obj that's distorted? The only way to fix that is if you already have 3ds max. 3dripper installs a plugin which makes the .3dr file import the model in the right proportion if you followed the instructions carefully. Sorry.

Yeah, the OBJ is distorted. It seems like the aspect ratio is wrong, or so the quick guide would have me believe. I'd completely forgotten about the plug-in, I installed Ripper DX before 3DS Max (I found 2008, but it doesn't support it, I'll have to find an earlier version).

Hopefully this will fix the issue, if not I'll see what I can find out from the 3D Ripper DX forums. Thanks for the help though.

If the object is distorted, you can always try to rescale it with the scaling tools until you think it looks right. Maybe you can post a picture or 2 so that we can judge. That seems to be a quicker way

You know, one doesn't need to rig Sora if you rip Sora already posed using master KkDf2's special kh2 mdlx viewer. With this generous japanese guy's viewer, you can view the characters and their animations if you already have the model's .mset files you've gotten.

Then just 3dxrip at the spot where you want them to be. It had been done before according to other people's screenshots.(Notice that Terra soldier wasn't rigged but ripped that way)

Okay, fo' shious here, I'm back as well. It's been too long, my friends(Sorry, no +internets for recognizing this obvious reference).

Last I remember(It's been a while since I've seen my home PC) I was messing around looking for keyblade files, having found Oathkeeper and Kingdom Key in the files, and also having found Oblivion in the same file as an Organization clad Riku, that I attempted to work on, but then The Black Lazy struck me and I abandoned work, to be picked up again when they finally release me from this dreaded hospital.

Which will be 2 or 3 more weeks.

I hate this place, I'm not allowed to leave my room and I can't sleep, it's 2AM here and I've been up since 7AM, and the last 2 days it's been the same. I'm starting to see things.

Sorry guys I haven't been able to get anything done on this, real life stuff gettin in the way. I just went ahead and rar'd all the files I had for Sora(skp file, 3ds file, and all textures) and uploaded. The model still needs some textures applied and probably the right elbow pulled down a bit to look more natural, other than that it's pretty much there. Would of liked to finish it but I just don't have the time lately, hopefully someone will pick up from where I left off and we can still have a chance of having a Sora model.
