Look for something called a UVW map. It's as close to a "polygon map" as you can get. The program takes all the polygons, flattens them out. Most of the time you need to reassemble them and connect matching points. It's used to bring in textures and show the program how it should be laid on the model. Here is an example. Although it's from 3ds max, the basics like UVW maps are the same.

That's what they look like when you're lucky. Sometimes they look like this ^

(don't mind the texture ;o)

UV Mapping is a time consuing procedure, that modifies a 2D map of the 3D object so that you can place a texture image onto the object how you want it to appear, you can't use a UV map to create a papercraft model, since there is usually a level of deformity in UV mapping to make everything fit.

thanks to you all

another way i found out, which might be time consuming, yet practical, is they told me i can "separate" al polygons of a figure, then i can start putting them in one single frame, all carefully conected, hmmm, but still ill search for the uv map thingie, it looks somehwo easyer

Why not just use Pepakura? basically, what it does is "seperate all polygons of a figure, then putting them in one single frame, all carefully connected."
