Guys, I need help. I can run metasequoia just fine on Ubuntu Linux; but I can't seem to get Pepakura Designer working on it. I have Wine, which lets me run .exe files; but I don't think it recognizes .ini or .ink files.

Any help?
>> POdragon
If it helps to know this, I also have windows XP installed--last night, so fresh system--on the same computer. Can't get it to work on there, either.

So, if you can help me get it working on windows again, I can just restart and make the .pdo files in windows.
Linux preferred though.

Thanks.

Woah, it's POdragon. How's it been?

I don't know anything about Linux computers, but I'm pretty sure it's Windows only. As for Windows, I'd try uninstalling and reinstalling.

Are you using one of those things like Parallels?

Been all right. Windows was broken so I had to reinstall.

I uh, can't figure out how to install it.. I think I might need a new Pepakura Designer installer+keygen, as mine has been burnt to a CD and when I double-click it, a black window pops up then dies out.
I'm betting it's on rapidshare somewhere; but I wouldn't know where to look for it. Could someone link me to it, please?

*coughcough* Try this one: http://rapidshare.com/files/145400703/keygen.exe.html *coughcough*

Also turns out there's a Starcraft Papercraft pack.

I need the actual installer for pepakura designer. My installers don't work..
And for some crappy reason, I can't get online on the windows half of my comp; but I can just fine on linux. Any ideas what's causing this? o-o;
I use a cable modem. ;x

No idea. Like I said, no Linux.

And you can get the installer from the official Pepakura website. Gimme second.

...

Here: http://www.tamasoft.co.jp/pepakura-en/download/pepakura_designer_en_v217_setup.zip

They've released a 3.0, but there's no keygen yet.

pepakura doesn't work properly in wine anyway. its a known issue. I think I read it was slightly improved recently but still sucks.

your windows networking issue might be missing drivers.

Yeah, I forgot about that. You'll probably want to install drivers and update your Windows, if it's a new installation.

Is there a driver for a cable modem? Let me guess; call my ISP for that.
Funny how it automatically works on Linux.

Anyways, brb to windows to attempt unfolding of a model. If all goes well, you shall have Blathers!

Ooh, sweet. Looks kind-of blocky, but then again, so was Animal Crossing.

If this goes well, you should make a Tom Nook series to go with the Nook Stores that are out there.

Also, didn't you make the Poochyena?

if you're using usb it ought to just work, if you're using a NIC you might need drivers for it. I've had hell with drivers on this board, no sound, no network included with windows.

I connect to my cable modem via ethernet cable.

>>181517
The blocky was intentional; to look more like AC. ;P
A nook line.. there was a Tom Nook papercraft, based off the other 'simple' pokeyman template. Never made it to see how it'd look, though.
And yeah; I made the poochyena. xD That one was supposed to be an easy-build for a beginner.. but it turned out not so much.

Blathers soon to come.

if you dont know what drivers to get, go into linux and open a console(xterm whatever). type 'lspci' and see what the output is. That'll tell you what every attached pci device is, who made its chipset, what model it is. its a great way to start the search for the drivers you need.

Oh, I get it. It's a bit too blocky for my tastes, but whatever.
And I'm not really a fan of the pokeyman template. I was also thinking of a full line of Tom Nook, in all the outfits, and maybe a Timmy and Tommy Nook.
If I knew where to get the AC 3D models, I'd try it myself. If they're out there, of course.

It's an idea, but I'm not promising anything.
At the moment I'm working on a koi 3D model; so other stuff will have to wait. x3
Sanke/doitsu koi.
Blathers file in new thread, so it's noticed.
