Sweet. I look forward to having my very own supercolliding superbutton. Maybe I can actually rig it up to work with a trigger or something. it would make a kickass lightswitch, that's for sure.

DO WANT

have sound to the button
>> Anonymous
Yes, but can you press it?

i couldn't make paper spring, so my idea to make a functional button is to cut the holders to the half ( those little black things that hold the red part) then ad a metal spring so the button can be pushed down. in case you do not want to make a pushable one just dont cut the holders.

Rig to door, place Weighted Companion Cube to it, leave your room.

Are you saying you couldn't get paper to spring? Fold several pieces into the shape of a "<" and place them symmetrically under the red bit. Might have to get some stiffer paper though.

i mean someting really good looking and resistant, not just simple paper rectangles folded like an accordion and stucked under the button.

Well, they should be hidden pretty well under the button if you keep the button down inside the collar like it should be.
See crappy MS Paint, the blue is where you glue.
You would have to experiment a good bit with # of springs, thickness of paper and proportions and such, but all of that should work better than a metal spring.

anyway the design for the spring is something that i will let to other people decide. i am planning to use all the portal papercrafts we have, to make a big detailed diorama with lights and mobile pieces so that is why i want to use a metal spring. i still need a chell model to complete this.

Finally, someone else who want Chell. I suggest two models, one in her classic stance with the ASHPD, and one without, like at the beginning of the game.

If I knew anything about 3D modeling, I'd have started on this already.

Check uit Ninjatoe's NES Zapper, it has a durable paper spring for the trigger mechanism
