any MME wier for the file

Do you know if it's an actual 3D model in the MME, or just a picture? If you want to send it to me, I'll see if my system can decode it. I have just about every compress/decompress & 3D graphic installed, so if it's a viable file it won't take long to crack... wolfmorgan at hotmail.com

Yes, that's what File Ext (http://filext.com/detaillist.php?extdetail=mme) tells us.
But keep in mind that many game developers use their own formats to work in (for one thing it keeps the competition from stealing their stuff ;o) and sometimes the extension used is the same as some obscure existing one. But I don't think the format the 3D model is in has anything to do with internet e-mail. More likely a custom format used by the makers of the model.

If anyone can convert it to .PDO or tell me which program is best to do that. Thanks.

That would be skipping a step (well, several actually, if you want it done right).
First, you need to convert the 3D model in mme format to a 3D format readable by Pepakura (http://www.tamasoft.sakura.ne.jp/pepakura-en/productinfo/func5.html).
Then, you can edit the 3D model (because most ripped models are not exactly suited to turn into a papercraft as they are).
Then you can import the model into Pepakura, to do some more work on it (telling the program where the folds and cuts should be, tell it where and how big the glueing tabs should be) and then you can save it as a pdo (if you have the registered version, or you could work around the limitations of the shareware version by setting up a pdf printer).

I've gone over the file with just about everything I can imagine, & nothing works...
I even went into the file with hexedit, & the code is completely unreadable...
Do you have any idea where the model originaly came from? Maby an Unreal or Quake custom mesh??? I'll do some more searching tonight, but so far I haven't found anything remotely close...

Where did you get the file from?
How in fact do you know what it contains?

OK. I found out what it is. It's an encrypted Metasequoia file.

http://www.geocities.jp/h_h_n_01/mmViewer/

If I am very bored at some point I might crack the encryption. That page has a viewer that can display the models, so the encryption key must be stored in the file.

You should realise that making a PDO file is not an automatic process and it requires a lot of work.
>> Wolf
Yeah, I found the MMviewer, & downloaded all the models on that site... Sadly the viewer is seriously lacking in any functionality... I've been messing with it for about 3 hours now, & searching the web for any kind of decryption plugin or extension for this thing... Metasequoia won't even look at the thing. I'll dig around the viewer with hexedit & see if I can find anything useful as well... Maby with a gang of us cracking on this thing, we might solve it without to much stress... :)

MMViewer works to open the file. But like it says, it's just a viewer, you can rotate the model to look at it, but it doesn't have an export option.

Rename to .rar ...

Have fun!

i don't mean to be greedy but do you think that you could possible post an obj of that file please please pleaes. thank you
>> Anonymous
>>39947
Only the registered version of Metasequoia can export mqo files to obj files, and I don't think many people have the registered version (the shareware version does all the stuff I need it to do).
But you could give Metasequoia itself a go: http://www.metaseq.net/english/index.html
The Metasequoia format works perfect with Pepakura.

yes i am in the process i had to completly re create a new mesh becase that one has like 4 meshes on top of each other. I am breaking it up and preparing it for pepakura
>> Wanna Know
thanks leprechaun, you'll have to let me know which programs you used and how to do it.

i use maya to do the 3D work, photoshop and/or illustrator to texture, and pepakura to do the unfolded pattern. The model is pretty darn close to being done now. I had to rebuild it all just legs left then on to pepakura. I drastically reduced the poly count of the model while still keeping the detail high

I have completed the new model. and begun to create the unfold pattern, however i must warn you that it looks like several parts will be quite difficult. I will test build once i have completed the work and see then re work the model for release
