diagrams?

I cant read moonspeak but you can figure out some of it.

To the right of the picture is what you need-
Oddly enough it gives dimensions ^_^
584 white pieces
132 blue pieces
14 red pieces
The rest is for the whiskers, eyes, nose, button ribbon etc.

The main diagram is easy to see...
It shows how the pieces fit together, the left starting at the center back all the way around again. Even shows you where the eyes are and everything... The numbers on the right shows which level.

The bottom diagram is details instruction on the neck I believe.

First off, thanks for the information.

But,730! units just for this litte Hello Kitty model?
Holy crap.

Though, I don't quite get the dimension thing.
The regular unit is made of a 1:2 paper.

How is 4cmx7cm supposed to work?

Never made one before but the 4x7cm may give it a flatter base than the 1:2. You can see it in the hello kitty diagram but it's more noticeable in the OP's picture.

There seem to exist 3 english books for this special kind of modular origami, namely
3d origami,
more 3d origami,
more & more 3d origami.

Anyone happen to have them and is willing to scan them / knows where to get the scans?
Nothing to find on rapidshare.

OK, some googling:
http://www.mybluemoon.us/origami/
a site with a couple diagrams and a little explanation on this stuff. diagrams are in moonspeak...

and some pages from the books mentioned are on books.google.com so that' helpful. also the links page on the first thing looks helpful, haven't given it much look

apparently, the little pieces are really easy to make, there's like 3 types, so you get going making those, and then put 'em together...

You know what? I don't fucking care anymore.
Yeah, it's neat, but I'm already sick of seeing rapid threads with pictures of that for no damn reason, with no damn explanation or ANY info about it.
Whoever it is, stop wasting the space already. Even if it was released I'd rather do normal papercraft anyway.
