Yes....
I have an idea on how that mechanism works, but it would fall apart fairly quickly. =[

no fucking way that's paper
>> Anonymous
Do. Fucking. WANT.

Christ. All I'd have to do to get my friend interested in papercraft now is show him this.

RAR is good... Also, good tip included as a bonus! =D

(looks harder than hell to make though)
>> Kingspeget
its time consuming, yea, but look at it this way:

The larger a papercraft model is, generally the easier it is to put together.

i have it printed and all its fairly easy to put together considering, but i need to know what goes where, it has a moving part so I don't want to mess it up. any instructions you guys have that didn't come with that download I'd appreciate. Oh! side not, for the mechanism and such I would go with a thick cardboard or maybe glue like 7 sheets of card stock together, I don't think it'd hurt.

I used a sheet of plastic from a broken container. It was pretty easy to cut and was stiff enough.

Also you might want to consider figuring out the inner mechanism before gluing the handle together. It was a bitch for me to reopen and close the handle after already gluing it.

me don't wan't be picky (must read in WOW3 peon) but aint that file for the Vash gun instructions? o_O just a thought
>> Anonymous
anyone interested in redesigning the mechanism? would be much cooler to have a ratcheting effect than just pulling the slide back and forth

theres a rubber band involved, can it be made out of normal paper?
>> Anonymous
>>166162
Not unless you have the mystical ability of making elasticated paper, although it might just be easier even if you DO have that ability to JUST USE A RUBBER BAND.
>> Anonymous
Resistance springs of many types can be made from multi-laminating cardstock. "Lifetime" of such a spring will be limited, but after all these are cardMODELS, not cardTOYS.
>> Anonymous
im not talking about paper rubberbands, i mean can you make the gun out of normal paper even though theres a rubber band in there because i would think that would not hold and mess it up

Some advice from personal experience: Do NOT use corrugated cardboard for the mechanism. I don't know why I thought it would be a good idea, but it was not. Just glue together about 4 pieces of cardstock for each mechanism and it should hold. Also, make the areas around the holes a little thicker, they tend to tear out if you cut them along the lines. And as the text file says, double up the supports and put them on each side to even load distribution.

Sadly, I finished mine, but it doesn't work... There went a "few" hours of my life =p
