Okay, so in all my time on /po/ since it was begat, i've never seen anything like this posted, but i know i've seen cosplayers with it.

Basically im looking for plans for a life-sized Buster Sword from FFVII, to be made from cardboard or foamcore. We'll call it boardcraft... any takers? in return, i offer a humble moogle

oooo a moogle! any finished image?

hmmm i think i've seen a cloud sword papercraft before, but sorry i didnt save the pattern :/

bump for that! the finished moogle and the buster sword

Its not really a complex design, I think what you should do is just get a bunch of whatever you are going to use, and a picture and just wing it.

its not like you can print anything that big anyway

Well, granted, but i was merely adressing anyone who had already made one. There was some very convincing cosplay models online, that i was simply wondering if anyone had the plans for. Rather than embark on a journey of trial and error, just slap the thing together

no offence to the builder, but hte model itself looks a bit ugly to me :X

It's a tricky little bitch to be sure; mine's benefiting from a little filing at the biggest creases. Also that guy fails at reading if he thinks 'bag' means 'fagbracelets'.

The Japanese by the whiskers says "glue together here and here." See where it's pointing? That help?

The creases make it tricky to look good, yea. I'm using a nail file. Also 'bag' != 'bracelets'.

The Japanese there says "glue these edges together". See where it points, at the shortest ones? Do that first. Then shape the top of the head as far as you can go, ears, down the back a bit. A whisker-shaped gap will emerge. Do one whisker, the face, and then the other. That's how I worked it, anyway.

And done! The nail file really did make the difference for the big obvious creases- it even gave them a kind of fuzzy look. Took a bit of rearranging to figure out that part B of the bag is the top flap, and a bit more to figure out which bit of the body went where.

Overall good fun. A+ would fold again.

ps forgot to mention: ~10cm from ass to bobble. Tweezers were helpful.

Here's another one. A nifty, well-designed little model.
