Sup /po/?

I'm new to papercrafting, and have a few FAQ's.

1.What kind of paper should I use? I have tried regular printer paper and cardstock and they seem too weak or too tough respectively.
2.Whats a good model or object to start with? I'm more interested in figues and thing like that more than oragami swans.
3.Any other advice?

1.) i say use thick printer paper. you can get it at places like office depot, staples, etc.

2.) pikachu is an easy model to start with. find it at

3.) with really thick paper, lightly score the paper with a scalpel or somthing. Goodluck!

someone once sait that he use some kind of polisher in his papercrafts so it would be more durable and easier to clean.

But I don't live in US nor english is my mother language, someone could please post a link to a product good for this, some kind of varnish that would not blur the ink...
