hey /po/,

I'm having trouble finding a proper way of gluing the "flaps" together while making my Master Chief paperwork figure, which was posted here somewhere earlier. I'm having particular trouble with the "inner" flaps, the ones that are surrounded by other such flaps, and can therefore not be supported from the inside, in order to push them against the surface you want to glue them to.

Does anyone have some advice for this, or maybe a link that teaches this gluing part properly? Thanks.

I use toothpicks for stuff like that, or just fold the flap out a little bit, so that the inside and the flap meet.

I just finished mine like 10 minutes ago. I fucked up. A lot. Especially on that left leg and his helmet. But this is only my 3rd or so paper craft, so I'm satisfied.

Putting the last flaps on that helmet was a bitch, though. The flaps were all wet and tooth picks wouldn't help me so I got sick of it and just cut them down and put some glue in there. That didn't work either so i just glued his lil visor thing there instead.

would somebody make a better looking model on the master chief.

When I've got a side that has to fold in, like you're talking about, usually what I do is fold the tab -outward- rather than inward, then apply glue. Since it's folded outward, when I put it in place, it presses more toward the outside and glues firmer.

Er, if that makes any sense at all.

That one looks pretty sweet, especially considering it's your third try. For me, this master chief is my second project, lol. The first one was a DJ turntable set that I got from some kids papercraft site :)

I'm a little disappointed in the way that the helmet does look too much like a box, and not like a full head like it's supposed to, but I may have myself to blame there. See, I'm still having trouble with things that are too 3d, if you know what I mean. I'm talking about the objects that have several folding lines over the surface that you're supposed to fold in such a way that it gives the object a rounder appearance. I'm still not in the hang of it, so mine always come out more like cubes, as with the case of the helmet :(

As for gluing, I think I got that more or less covered. I too am using toothpicks now, but the best advice I got from the yamaha-site for starting papercrafters ( http://www.yamaha-motor.co.jp/global/entertainment/papercraft/howto/0002.html )

Thanks for the help.
