So I just started this whole papercraft thing and thus far I have made a Super Mario Bros. Coin, Mario Warp pipe, A few Block men, and right now im working on the SD RGM-79C's.
The point im trying to make is that the only tools i have are: ExactO Knife, Glue Stick, and a straight edge.
Im asking you /po/ to help me out with some thing I will NEED.
Right now im on a tight budget so i only need the necessitys.
Please and Thanks

I'd would say glue other than a Glue stick even if its generic white glue or some cheap clear stuff.
I use cheap clear glue and it works great. I've never had any luck with gluesticks.

Also if your working with card stock then something to score the folds with. I have a bone folder but its not very good so I run the back of 1 of my blades on them and it works just as good.

On a unrelated note, Are you making this>>143092SD RGM-79C?

Thanks a lot I will get some good glue.
and I went out and got a bone folder today cuz the lady at the store recommended it and i agree there are many other free things that do just as good work

And no I guess I was mistaken.
Pic is what im doing now,
but thats what i plan to aspire to.
That gundam was the one who made me want to do Gundams

tweezers if ever you want to pinch a small hard to get part so it sticks right, I wouldn't go as far as saying mini Clothes-pin because they clightly deform the paper

I use tweezers and duct tape to hold pieces together while my glue dries. I use a metal edged wooden ruler with a mechanical pencil for scoring.

Cutting mats are good to invest in.

If you look for a cutting mat (especially self-healing) make sure to compare the prices between papercrafting mats and quilting mats and decide what looks best for you. Depending on where you go to get it the mark-up can be insane for one but low for the other. I work at a Jo-Ann's in MI and most of the quilting mats are ridiculous but the ones marketed toward scrapbookers and general papercrafting are about $10-$15 dollars cheaper for a mat similar in quality, but say maybe Fiskar's brand name instead of Olga. But I've seen cutting workmats at hobby stores that are even more expensive than the quilting cutting mats that we sell for no real reason at all.

Forgot to add that if you're looking for a very large work surface (which is why I even mentioned quilting) that the quilting mats are cheaper and higher quality than any large (over 24x24) mats geared toward hobbyists.

I got some cheap cutting mat with a knife and 5-6 blades for like 12-15 dollars at Staples(Office Depot in the states). The knife is shit and same with the blades(unless sharp) but the mat is awesome.

Actually they're two different stores in the states.
