Need somone to pepakura a sketch-up model since my comp/pepakura is being a smeghead. Exxos

So I download this inn and I try to get it into pepakura. Pepakura decides to go insane on me and crashes. I try it again, same problem. I fiddle about, trying to find some way to get it in there without pepakura crapping out and taking my system down for the third time today – just to have it open up as a bunch of textureless, crooked lines and my computer crash again.

Can someone get this through pepakura, since my computer obviously is not going to let me, into a wargames-scale PDF I can print?

Well my initial research shows that the model is in "Google Sketchup" format. I haven't downloaded or installed that software but unless it allows an export to Pepakura format then that is your problem.

its a bit high poly to just go into pepakura and making a pattern out of it.. you will need to simplifly it first, maybe thats why its crashing it.

Yeah, I have to convert it. I tried the converted file a bunch of times and tried reconverting it to no avail – so I do not think it is the file. I think it is that my computer sucks and pepkura is angrier and more insane than my ex-girlfriend.

Well, I did not super-simplify it. Just made the windows flat. I guess even with that it was more than I should have bit off at once.

sketchup has a tendency to split squares and make superfluous polygons in areas that were made only by extruding, sometimes making up to 3/4 of the poly count

(expletives deleted) And you know on a 4chan board, if I have to delete the expletives, what I said was pretty harsh.

3/4?! Hidden polygons from hell that is what those are. I wanted to make this for a friend who has been making shitloads of little buildings but is always upset because he never has a decent inn. I can't design or texture very well at all. But I had some luck turning a couple – albeit far simpler – sketchups into papercrafts, so I thought I could make this work and give him a richly detailed inn.

Thank you for your help. I still can't seem to make it work, but at least I know why and can keep trying at it. Though I am thinking it might be easier and more effective to try to find another papercraft inn that already exists at this point.

Forgive me if I come off as stupid or naive, but have you tried the unfold plug-in for sketchup?
