Why dont you just make one with all the shapes you need and then from there make a template of the parts you used in the prototyple?

"Urban paper toys" need to be very simple in design. Just a pair of basic shapes. Making them with Pepakura is actually more time consuming and more difficult than NOT making them in Pepakura.
Because they're basic shapes, you can (should be able to lol) just imagine how the 3D shapes will unfold. Then you just draw these 2D unfolded parts you worked out in you head using any graphic program you like to work in, and apply texture. I'll scan an interview with an "urban paper toy" guy (I'm sure you'll recognize him) if I feel up to it, I remember him talking about how he does it.

I pdf'ed it for convenience. It's from Computer Arts Projects march 2006.
The thing is, "urban paper toys" isn't really like the kind of papercraft you see most, especially not here: they're made more by graphic designers, than 3D/papercraft people. They're more 2D focused, the 3D of a papertoy is just a canvas for their "artwork", it's not about the 3D shape, it's about how the art interacts with the shape.
Don't go planning an epic paper toy shape, if you don't have better than epic art plans for it.
Oh, and if you made "featured customs for big name papercraft workers", then show us. ;)
