Hi there /po/
I know you guys are more helpful than some of the other boards, so here goes.

I was thinking about giving my girlfriend something really unique this Valentine's day, so I happened upon the pattern for the Prince from Katamari and it just SPOKE to me.

Now, I want this to be perfect, so I need your help. The only "papercraft" I've done is a Mario block, and that turned out looking like crap.

I have at my disposal a Kinko's and $20 CDN. Advice on paper/glue/whatever would be most helpful.

I really... have no idea... how you can mess up a block.

The Prince is incredibly easy, even at half size, just... try it, if you fail then... you need to cut off your hands...

Well, it's not so much that I messed it up, it's that I have a crappy black-and-white printer of a make that probably doesn't even get tech support anymore... >> other than paper quality, it came out well.

Personally I use an x-acto knife, some jeweler's forceps, 110 lb (200 gm/m^2) card stock, and some quick dry tacky glue. I imagine anything that dries quickly and won't warp the paper will work.
