hey /po/, do you like my bible safe?

I put some things inside so you can see about how big it is.

Have you guys done anything similar?

Impressive, how are the pages held together, are they glued there?
Or is that a container in the center that's glued to the cutout book?
>> Anonymous
yeah sorry for the crappy pictures (my macbook's webcam)

the inside has felt glued to it to keep noise of items bumping around to a minimum.

before cutting anything out i applied a glue/water mixture to the page edges to hold them together.

did that with a hotel bible once, was hoping to do a big one for a friend, but the fuckers aren't cheap

Nonetheless, I am impressed, I was thinking about doing this for my 92fs but wasn't sure how easy it was.
I just might give this a try
>> Anonymous
yeah i paid about $25 for this thing... and im not religious.

hardcovers cost you

it looks really simple and i guess it is, but it takes a lot of work. i'd recommend doing anything but a bible. there are so many pages that it took forever to cut out.

lol, too true
Suppose I'll check amazon, I just got payed
>> Anonymous
>>170246

oh, and btw there is a company that makes them using woodcutting machines I think. Their prices are decent too, I forget the website but I'm sure you can find it by googling

I keep my 2.5" USB HDD in one. I've got a bunch of old hardcover textbooks for the purpose (uni library gives out-of-date textbooks away).

OP here, pic please, of any you have made

You desecrated a bible to make a sweet assed hiding place for drugs and the like? (Not saying you're hiding drugs there, I would haha)

You sir, are fucking awesome.

Yeah, my old math teacher from a way back was fricking creeped out when I started taking my pencils out of a ROBINSON CRUSOE book.

What other book WOULD you use?

OP here, nicely done. I guessed it was that book just from the first picture because it's one of the hardcovers.

Bible is obvious especially because I'm an atheist but I just like the idea.

Yah, It took ages to carve. Used a steel rule and a stanley knife.

I made one of these for a friend of mine. I bought a really useless book with a really pretty cover at a thrift store, hollowed it out, but left enough at the front end and the side to incorporate two small magnets to hold it shut. Then I lined the inside with embossed felt. It looks really luxurious.
>> Anonymous
>>170461

I considered using a magnet but didn't know how I would do it. Sounds cool though.
>> Anonymous
I made one and its where I'm saving all my cash. It takes freaking forever to work the hole to have smooth edges and be deep enough. But the final product is worth it, most definitely a win by far...
>> Anonymous
i made one out of a book that someone probably wouldnt go in.
>> Anonymous
Do want.

Hell yeah! Atheism is cool!

The other day I pissed on a bible and hurled it through the stain glass window of a church while it was in session. I'm so cool and non-conforming!
>> Anonymous
Question: does it look unnatural when carried around or opened with the edge glued? If I made one but left the edge unglued, would it fall apart/rip?
>> Anonymous
I made one out of an old textbook from when i was a wee lad, it works, but when you open it up the cavity's edges look fuckered up.
>> Anonymous
>>171981
it should'nt if you use elmer's and the edges are white. otherwise i dunno.

i have a goood one, but its at school, ill bring home tomoro and post

AmIDoinItRite?

I was thinking about it, but does anyone else in /po/ think you could do something similar using one of the boxes to a PC game? The ones today are pretty large, and with a little bit of cutting you could make ample room to store whatever you wanted. Granted this is /po/ not a plastic storage device board. But seriously, does anyone think that could work?

Religiously pompous Lulz
>> Anonymous
>>172014

I've no problem with Atheism as a belief. It just so happens that 90% of Atheists are huge douchebags who are such for the rebellion aspect, or shock value.

The kind of person who wants to make a storage device out of a Bible ESPECIALLY because he's Atheist is a perfect example of this.

The only thing worse than a "holier than thou" Christian is a "holier than thou" Atheist.
>> Anonymous
>>172075

90% of the ones you hear, just like 90% of the religious people you hear are just as annoying. It's always the loudmouths that gets attention.

The bible is just about the perfect books to use, they are large, widely available, often for free, and no one casually opens them (or at all usually).

I really want to make a hollow book but the only useless big book i have is a french to english/french to english dictionary that my sister won't let me use.

I'm glad that you guys gave me the idea to do this.
I cut out the book pierre le grand
put magnets in it, and store my gaming dice in it
