But I think scans of this would suck: the metallic look will scan very poorly and print even worse on regular white cardstock.
When not pre-printed, but scanned, you should only have the outlines of the parts and print them on metallic cardstock. And that's not gonna happen I'm afraid: someone might be willing to scan it, but the chance that somebody is going to put so much work in it to trace the outlines of the parts... Not really.

But apparantly, somebody did scan it and is selling cd's on e-Bay: http://cgi.ebay.com/TERMINATOR-93CM-T800-Endskeleton-PAPER-FIGURE-MODEL-CD_W0QQitemZ120049986491QQih
Z002QQcategoryZ747QQssPageNameZWD4VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item120049986491 (be sure to copy the whole link...)

But as I said: I think you better search for the book itself on e-Bay or sites like that... There may be a reason why there's only a picture of the cd cover and not a single preview of the scanned jpeg's. When you scan a metallic-like cardstock, and then print it, it won't have the same look as the original metallic cardstock...

Doh, why didn't I think of this before?
But still, there are sellers that sell papercraft readily available online.
Bwah-hah-hah, I bought the last copy ^.^ will post once I get it, just realized how big this thing is, at 1/2 scale it should be around 3 feet tall, 20+ pages probably. The seller also sells other papercraft stuff, like FF7, NGE and gundam models.

Well, the entire book is 142 pages, but that's including instructions. The Eva Units are about 60 cm high and are about 50 pages. This 90 cm high one's probably 60-80 pages; you could still call that "20+", I guess ;o)

The person does sell the Innerbrain Eva Units, but I wouldn't buy them from him: you can get them for free on the interweb. In fact you can get a lot of the papercrafts they sell on e-bay for free on the interweb (maybe even the T800, but I haven't looked for that one very hard myself).

In any case, the $9,99 for the scans on cd is a lot less expensive than the $79,99 at http://www.toyrential-reign.com/t8en.html
I'm really curious about the quality, though. Will you let us know wether your build has the same metallic-like look the original one has?

I'll try building it using metallic looking ordinary paper screened with silver vinyl ink, or some other metallic ink to give it a dull shine or chrome 'plated' paper to give it that metallic shimmer. I guess one advantage I'll have from the $79.99 kit is I can always print out a copy whenever I make a mistake.

It's a pirated CD-ROM; I'm sure he still has a copy of the files somewhere on his computer and will probably go for another round of selling these papercrafts as soon as he buys another 50-pack CD-R's. ;o)

Would using cheap photo paper work as well for getting a shiny look?

Actually, it's a she. . .

Photo paper's kinda porous, if you were to use ordinary school glue it'll turn ugly, unless someone came up with a process that removes that inconvenience.

People lie on the interweb. get yourself a blind date and find out. ;o)

So get the kind of glue you use to glue photos in a photo album. People sometimes do that, and other people made glue to do so. Or did you really think all photos in all photo albums look like crap? No wait, don't answer that... ;o)

So... 10 days later; did you get it?
Rapidshare/Torrent the cd-ROM please!

RAWR IT'S EBAY, consider how some sellers are flaky with their items. I'm giving her another week before I start bitching about my item. And if this thread does die, I'm posting it up anyway so can you please be patient and just wait?
