Dear /po/ Currently working on a Yoshi model, based on Mario Golf. Pic related.

3ds max noob here asking how the hell you assign a texture to a poly. I figured out how to assign a flat color, but not how to use an image file as a texture.

And if I can't figure it out in 3ds, can pepakura do what I need?

I have no experience with 3ds, but the general way it works in 3D is that first you have to UV map it to tell the texture how it's supposed to lay on the object and then you can assign a texture to it. I don't know the proceedure for it in 3ds but you are guaranteed to find some tutorial on it as it's really basic stuff.

Are you going to make the golf club, too?
The shaft looks like it would be a huge pain...

Thanks, I'll do some googling for UV map stuff and see what come up.

The golf club will be in there, but I expect people to just not care about making it, since he looks fine without it.

Wasn't some other anon making a different Yoshi?
One that was just standing.
What happened to that?
