I have a distinct feeling there's a lot of us girls in /po/.
>> Anonymous
>>41611

Yes, yes there are a lot of us on /po/. Oh, and chamoo, I'm working on a Metal Gear Ray right now. I would have had it finished sooner, but I was away from home for a few days. I decided to do the white build with lines, since I don't know how the figure is supposed to look well enough without looking at everything you released on it. I've been trying to put it together quickly, so there are parts where I used tape instead of glue. It's pretty much a rough draft for me, but I'll post pictures of it when I finish the right arm and tail.
>> chamoo232
>>41698
sweet. I still havent seen any pic of others rays and I always feel like no one is making my stuff when I dont see finished models. feel like mine oisthe only one

My version of Pyramid Head. Turned out pretty well, in my opinion. Also had a fun time crafting it, although i have to say that the feet were a pain in the ass.
>> Anonymous
     File :-(, x)
Also my version of the Cypher
>> Anonymous
>>41714

Pyramid head is the most pathetic piece of shit character I've ever seen. "Faces are hard, lets just make his head a giant triangle."
>> Anonymous
>>41717
That is the most ignorant thing I've ever heard on /po/. Go back to /v/.
>> Anonymous

here's another papercraft ray
>> Anonymous
>>41725
Unless you know someone, or somewhere that has the templates, that one's a lost cause.
>> A non e-moose
>>41717

You do know that his 'head' is meant to resemble the red hoods that the priests in the town silent hill is set in and their descent/lust for sex?
>> Anonymous
>>41727
That's what they said about the GunBound dragon. And then /po/ found it. ;)
>> Anonymous
>>41728
then why not give him a red hood? ;)

That version of Ray sucks and no one here wants it because someone very close to us made one that is in a league of its own.

>>41460
>>41611
>>41698
I wish my gf enjoyed paper as much as I do.
>> A non e-moose
>>41730
Maybe cause a giant arse piece of steel stained in blood looks better then a red hemp hood?

>>41731That version of Ray sucks and no one here wants it because someone very close to us made one that is in a league of its own.
That's bullshit /po/ wants that one as well.
>> Anonymous
>>41733
lol, GL with that

>>41734
You guys given up on Chokipeta's papercrafts as well? /po/ finds many rare papercrafts, why so negative??
>> Anonymous
>>41736
Because they're impossible to find
>> Anonymous
>>41739
Not impossible, only very difficult. But soon we'll have another Chokipeta papercraft here at /po/ (>>41410). Negative /b/ attitude is ruining /po/ lately...
>> Anonymous
I think the negative vibes here on /po/ lately are because some of the interesting things we do and create here have been creating a bit of a buzz on other boards in 4chan. My bf said that he had recently started coming to /po/ more, and that there had been some threads about the gaming papercraft on /b/. The recognition is bittersweet.
>> M.
>>41746
In the same way, it was interesting to see WH40K requests in here, AND in /tg/.

>>41746
41731 here, and I'm sorry if I came across as sounding negative. What anon said is true: I was lying. When I first came to /po/, I found this a delightful place... a haven for my wanton lusts that could be satisfied nowhere else. I saved papercrafts far faster than I could ever print them, much less build them. In that time, I have collected "the known world". Now all that interests me are things we have not seen. That is why I respect chamoo so much. Because at this stage of my /po/ evolution chamoo has taken the next step: that which you cannot find, you create.

I am not negative. I have come to accept that the original Ray templates do not exist online. The original template they were created from is out there, and possibly someone has their templates to scan. But it cannot exist in the form that we search for now.

This is a state that I believe many of /po/ are in. Tired of that which we have seen repeatedly yet unable/unwilling to take the next step for ourselves.

I should have said this with one of the pictures, but the only problem I really had while assembling this is that I didn't realize how the legs and tail had to be in order for it to be a standing model. Actually, I think that I assembled the legs incorrectly to the part that connects the legs to the body.

For the next one I make, I'm just going to make sure that the largest part of the legs is perpendicular to the lower body. I knew that I would do something like this to the model the first time I built it, since I haven't been around the metal gear series much. I've heard a lot about them, but I'm not into most shooter games, so I just learn about the stuff I like in the series from other people. I wonder if someone who's used to the ray armies would have problems putting this together at all.

One last thing: I found out that the tail can be somewhat flexible when put together with tape.
>> chamoo232
>>41831
also another thing you did wrong is the top part of the arms. its actualy suposed to fit on the edges. its easier to understand with texture.
>> Anonymous
>>41346
>>41799
Chamoo, It appears as though the bandana tails are going to be a separate piece, however the front bit looks simply textured on. It may already be a part of your master plan, but a separate bandana might give some extra detail to his face. I'm not sure whether that would be better as a single thickness or double thickness strip.

Something to think about, I guess. However, that leads into discussions about straps on the body, too.

Keep up the good work!
>> Anonymous
>>41879
Maybe, but it will just add extra parts making building it more work (more to cut out) and many peepz don't really like that (although patience is a good asset for a papercrafter, many peepz don't have it, they just want something easy and fast to build that still looks good).
And unless you use some thick cardstock like 200 gsm, it won't really add an "extra dimension". It won't look much better than with the straps just textured on.
>> Anonymous

>>41883
Ninjatoe's often uses that trick on his models, but I agree I don't think it would add something more special to this model of snake.
>> Anonymous
>>41883
Good point. I suppose that by leaving the original texturing on, and just providing an optional strip with the paper craft, not only would you appease both sides of the issue, but also make a bit of a reference point for where to place the bandana if you so choose.

Alternately, the builder could print the model twice and just cut out those areas by themselves, add more thickness to them, then glue them down.
>> chamoo232
     File :-(, x)
>>41879
yes I indeed planned to add extra pieces that arenot really neededif you dont have the patience. such as a bandana and the infinite bandana witch is way longer and also an extra part to make volume in his hair on the back so he really has a mullet like he is suposed to

oh and by the way. guess whos mentioned on Kotaku game site today? hehe
>> silvernife
chamoo, your models are like awesome in paper form, can't wait till you finish Snake.

Found something pertaining to the Metal Gear Ray that is such a rarity to come across. I've only got one page, though.

forfy.blogspot.com/2005_03_01_forfy_archive.html
This is the website I found it on. It's under the title Monigotes de papel. I don't know if there's supposed to be more than one page to it.
