So, there are, of course, many different ways to convert 3d into papercrafts. what are your ways? what are the best in your opinion?

Pepakura Designer, thread over, in before small German or Italian programs that are used by twenty people in the whole world.

No, seriously, if you can do 3D models PD has everything you need.

there are several ways but do you mean getting 3d files or what? are you looking for tutorials?

Does anyone know of any free software alternatives? Bonus points if German or Italian ;-)

The people that created Pepakura. ;)
It's shareware, and you can unfold your template and work on it as much as you like, but you can't export it (which isn't a real problem since you can just use PRNTSCRN+paste, or better yet, just use the "copy development to Clipboard option and then paste, or you could just "print to pdf").
And you can't save your work to continue working on it some other time, so you'd have to start from scratch every time again... Which wouldn't be a real problem either, if only most /po/eple would just try to make simple papercrafts in seperate 3D files, so you only have to make like 3 or 4 cuts every time... But most /po/eple like to make Gundams and such in one 3D file, and then it gets annoying if you find out you made a mistake and need to fix it in Pepakura... (and even then you only have to "re-create" the part that's wrong, not the entire thing, so fixing it still is only 5 minutes work.
But you could (dare I say it) buy it, or find an illegal registry key on the interwebs to use.
