Is there a papercraft equivalent of a dollfie doll?
I know there is a Jjoint movable paper doll, but i am looking for something more 'pretty'.

My attempt to make a "papercraft" equivalent of a obitsu doll. Cheating, as it uses screws instead of pure paper though.

Is it paper mache' or masking tape? Either way it looks awesome! And for something completely unrelated, I figured out how to make 1/6 scale (like for the doll in the OP) sweaters out of socks. Anyone want me to post the link to the tutorial here?

I'd actually like the sweater tutorial, even though it's not related to /po/.

And it's actually not paper mache or tape, but Magic the Gathering cards for understructure. Attached a picture to illustrate what's actually going on under the paper coating.

And here's a obligatory picture of the finished model. Yes, using paint on papercraft goes against the spirit of it, but I figured I might as well show that a dollfie/obitsu papercraft/model equivalent is possible.

Finally, someone found a good use for the Magic The Gathering Cards...

Whoops, it'll be there. Can't type today (am sick and sleep deprived). Also might as well post a pic of said sweater, even though it's not /po/ related. And I still can't get over how amazing she is! You'll have to make instructions! :D

Most impressive! My 12 yr old daughter is into making her own dolls and saw this thread.....PLEASE POST PATTERNS AND A TUTE BEFORE SHE DRIVES ME NUTS!!!!

I would post instructions somewhere, but all i have is about 20 pages of diagrams and development notes. Most of it was freehand work (Mainly the hip and chest region) to shape the model. The rest is just rolling tubes together to make solid cylinders, then attaching them to hinges. It's not something I plan on making detailed instructions for.

The attached picture shows the ball and socket hip joint. Not fun to make, and would surely drive anyone nuts regardless of whether they had or didn't have the instructions for it.

We dont care, we half crazy enyway.
As long as the instructions are understandable ill survive. (beats buying a a doll for $500+ that i will get bored of after a week)

And i bet someone will update your instructions if you post them on the internet :)

The 1/6 scale dolls aren't that expensive. I got the guy in>>113341for 50 or so bucks (face-up included). Of course, the OP is of the pricer Volks dolls, and my guy is a less expensive Obitsu, so if you want to get one bad enough just shop around. Of course, JNorad's creation is amazing, but I don't know if I'll make one due to my horrible lack of patience. [/off topic rambling] (sorry, Desuchan's /do/ is down, have to get it out somehow).

Still would like to see the patterns and notes.

Thanks!
