I know /po/ isn't Projects, bear with me please.

I helped a family move and they recompensed me with a few rolls of a thin type sheet metal. I didn't really know what to do with it, but now i have an idea. I think i could jumboprint a papercraft design and copy it onto the metal sheets, cut them out and build a large, sturdy, metalcraft. The only design i've thought of using is the HRP-2 [pic related], but would be a bit difficult considering i'd have to be cutting the pieces out of metal.

So, /po/, can you suggest a papercraft that would look cool made from metal? Also, have any of you messed with this before?

Also, instead of using paperglue i would either screw the tabs together or use some JB weld.

I've tried using large sheets of thin metal for origami. The moment you have multiple layers in the same spot, the difficulty ramps up astronomically. Yet, it's still possible to make easy models if you have enough patience, and a blowtorch.

As for papercraft... if you have the patience to transfer a pattern correctly to metal, and have the correct tools to work it, there's no reason it won't work. As long as the geometry of the original model is good, the metal-craft model will work as well, if not better.
