i wasn't going to post this due to the /b/tard envading our board, but i think they left so i'll post this

I'm working on a very legit SEPHIROTH
it is from a cut scene from FFVII so it isn't blocky
he is well proportioned and the highest detail sephiroth to hit papercraft that i've seen

i am half way through the modeling phase. The model was ripped from the game, but i am a fairly good 3d modeler so i have fixed most of the bad topology and made him papercraftable.

the one thing i will need help on is someone who can help me with the pepakura phase of this project. i have little background in pepakura although i will make the model easy to be transfered to the program

this is a heads up so don't expect anything for a bit and please don't post things like "hurry OP" or "want want want" it's coming just give it time

thanx for reading this obnoxiously long post and hope everyone is excited

He said it was from a cutscene.

I think he said he ripped it from an in game FMV if that's even possible.

the game has two sets of models the cutscene models and the in-game models. guess which ones are low detail. and guess which one have been made into a papercraft

this is more polys and bigger.
sure it will be a bit block, but nuthing like the previous sepiroth papercrafts

So it's possible to rip models from FMVs? I thought they were all pre-rendered.

This brings to mind many possibilities.
>> Anonymous
no no no. the FFVII game i DLed had those models built in. u can't ripp directly from a movie. lol
FFVII simply put these models in the ISO

eh yeah on second thought i think i'll save this project for another week/month

what?
What version did you download?

did you download the FF7 for PC/PS1 or FF7:CC for PSP, because that would make more sense to me

Wait, wat. I'm guessing you ripped this from the Crisis Core game. If so, mind telling me hooow? And if whatever technique could be used for other psp games?

i told u it was for FFVII for PC.
it doesn't look like ^that one up there.

it is still blocky just extremely less so and much better quality than the other sephiroth models we have

Oh. Dayum.

I do wonder if it's possible to rip out models from psp games..

Indeed it is possible, you just need code a proggy that allows you to rip them from a psp game. Problem is that not all games use the same file format, so you have to code one prog per game. Doing this is time consuming and hard. I tried my luck once with FF9. I was able to decompile this fukkn FF9.IMG file that is contained on every FF9 cd. Then I tried to decode the models but failed. It just gave me some stupid vertexjunk T.T ... I think I'm going to try it sometime again.
