Wouldn't the statement be "47 turns of the spiral", but the look depends on the base diameter and height. Normal drill bits have only 2 spirals, regular "cylindrical helixes", that decline at about 45degrees. A drill is a twisted inclined plane, a basic tool. the number of twists (not "number of spirals") depends on declination angle and length/heighth of spiral. Calculating a spiral actually involves math. particularly passing the advanced courses in highschool... or at least passing basic highschool math courses; which this thread proves a lot of FAIL here. Better off faking it by trail and error than doing it once with the math skills you don't have.
