Kawasaki Rose yiggs
I'm finding it really really really hard to make one. My problems start when you have to "roll" it into its shape. Anyone wanna offer some help?
>> Fold
It's extremly easier if you take a quarter, and after creasing/folding, use the quarter to flatten the crease/fold.

Do you have the templtes or instructions?

Idiot award. It's a KAWASAKI ROSE, as the origin post says. Google those two words. KAWASAKI ROSE. Loooooook at all the results.

Anonymous was being overly harsh on you, don't feel bad, that's just his nature.

Googling for kawasaki rose should find you the instructions though. I have it in my /po/ folder somewhere but it's got a filename of 1162621916968.pdf and I don't feel like looking for it...

I'm currently working on danoftoaster's version of the Kawasaki Rose, but with what he says about it Kawasaki Rose isn't specific enough to really know which version the OP is folding. Dan is making a version of the rose that he prefers to make for personal reasons. Kawasaki did the original rose origami that is his namesake, and then proceeded to make some variations on the original. Also, others have made variations to the rose as well, so I would guess that there are at least 10 versions of this rose.

I'm a little past the halfway point on the rose from Dan's site. We'll see how the rest of it goes after I sleep through the rest of the night. Earlier than that if insomnia strikes.

If the OP could, can you take a picture or at least scan in what you have so far? That might help get some more results, or something.

I made one a while back, the trick is after getting it to where you've folded the ridges (petals) take your thumb and index finger, clasp the center (both sides), and then rotate to get the spiral patten, after you've done that, tease the petals down and over, get them to stick by pulling the bottom edge out a little (simple sliding motion of the thumb and index finger with the index on the top, the thumb on the bottom and pulling the thumb towards the palm). After you've gotten that, follow the instructions for folding the petals down and round to get them to stick.

I've been doing origami so long that i have a hard time putting my techniques into words. But if you understand it, hope it helps!

I've been doing origami for so long that it amazes me that what I do know about the craft isn't considered elementary anymore. I guess I just feel weird because I've never really been around people that have a willingness to learn origami and they're not afraid to ask questions.

It almost makes me wish I had been reading the instructions more often so I wouldn't have forgotten some of the symbols used in the diagrams.

I've been wondering if it's just me, but has anyone else noticed how huge the gap in quality is between origami online and origami in books? The stuff online is so unnecessarily difficult.

Thanks guys! I had been trying to make Kawasaki's kawasaki rose (the super hard one that has 20x20 preparation folds). I ditched it for the "http://danoftoasters.org/?page=3&catnum=2" version. It looks a bit different, but my girlfriend loves it.

Thanks!
