Advice for a beginner? Anonymous
After stumbling on this board and a couple of other random coincidences lately, I've decided I want to get back into origami and papercraft. I used to be mad about origami as a kid, but kind of drifted away over the years, so I'm basically starting from 0 again. Any tips on how to get started? Recommended sites? Books? Anything else?

Check out books by John Montroll. Good designs, good range of difficulty, so that if it all comes rushing back you can move up quickly.

It's pretty much all animal designs though. Mythological Creatures & The Chinese Zodiac is a good one.

It's from the same guy that made the Tachikoma and there are no templates for it on the site: http://www5d.biglobe.ne.jp/%7Ecompact/pepa/index.htm

But the Tachikoma turned up, so maybe this one will too.

But go build a Borg Cube first before requesting detailed paper models like these; you'll need special "advanced" techniques that you wouldn't use for "normal" papercrafting...
