>>36814 Well, Metasequoia does support textures, but I have trouble loading 3ds textures as well... When I export it as a obj however, and load that into Metasequoia, I can assign as many textures as I want (with preset UV coördinates, but that's something in the obj file, not in Metasequoia). It's done in the Materal panel (Panel -> Material panel, or just CTRL+M). You can load a texture there (jpeg works great) then select a face (or the entire model), and choose Selected -> set material to faces.
The other issue, of using quad polygons instead of triangles: this can also be done in Metasequoia. When you have two triangles that are in one line, you can select both of them, then choose Selected -> Merge two traingles. Please note that Metasequoia will also merge the two traingles when THEY ARE NOT IN ONE LINE!! This is very dangerous, because this means that there should be a fold later (the angles change), but by merging the two triangles, you're deleting the fold edge... So don't be TOO enthustiastic when using this feature!!
In short, my recommendation: there seem to be a lot of very useful features you haven't discovered yet, but you learn by doing, so just put some more time in getting to know Metaseqouia: It's not a very extensive, program compared to 3DS Max for instance, but it doesn't need to be. But you will have to try all the menus and features a few times, until you understand what each does and then I'm sure you'll be able to edit the 3D model some more.
