Please help /po/...I'm not a troll or w/e, I have been lurking for about 2 months now and in the past 2 3 weeks made about 20+ papercrafts...but anyways my point is I'm ready to move up to cardstock now and i have just been using regular printing paper so far...
So two questions:
1) How do i know what the current number for the paper I'm using is if it just says 500 sheets/24 lbs. It doesn't quantify the weight like my other pack of printing paper does (Other one has a g/m^2)
2) I've been reading up on cardstock but still am not sure if I get it...Cardstock is just paper with a minimum weight? Is Cardstock compatible with all printers like normal printing paper is or do i have to check something with my printer beforehand to see if it would support printing on Cardstock?

Please help and sorry for the long post.

1) /po/ veterans generally use cardstock ranging from 65 lb to 110 lb cardstock. 110 lb is ROUGHLY 200 gsm (g/m^2), though I'm not sure about 65 lb.

2) Cardstock is heavier paper, basically. I'm sure your printer can print cardstock, as long as you change the settings so that it adjusts itself to to do.

If you have a old or crappy printer, reading the manual could help too.

Additional Notes: Be sure to score your fold lines, otherwise your folds will look like total crap. Edge coloring will help too.

And now, I have a question for you: What glue do you use?

Thanks a lot for the response :D. I use Elmer's "school glue"

Geez, I used that when I was starting out. Then I switched to Aleene's tacky glue (the gold bottle) and papercrafting became a lot easier. The tacky glue dried much quicker than Elmer's school glue.

It may take some time to get used to Aleene's tacky glue, though..

Cardstock isn't any different at all, just a hell of a lot easier to work with.

I did my first papercraft with elmers and printing paper. My second was with cardstock and wood glue, and I've never looked back.
