I know that it isn't papercraft but these are neat.
Anyway, I will sage so it doesn't update the thread with my non paper related reply.
You go out and buy a cold cathode and the appropriate materials to light it up. And go and get a pack of blank CD's. Line the CD's up like the pic, and put the cathode in the center.

I got this idea years ago, but couldn't think in a good light source... maybe leds... I will try this cold cathode
