Envelopes? Anonymous
Hey there /po/, got what I hope is an easy request (and hopefully related enough to the board). I've started to get interested in sealing letters with wax, but can't seem to find envelopes without glue anywhere. I decided to turn to hand-made envelopes, but my Google-fu is not strong enough to find any decent-looking instructions for those, either. Anybody happen to have a pattern, link, anything? I'd strongly prefer something which doesn't involve adding my own glue, either.

Just don't wet the glue

you might just want to cut off the portion with the glue, (if the envelope can still close, that is).

Most things people are entertained by these days are also a waste of time/money. Though I wonder why, as well.

The wasted money usually goes towards something amusing.

Why not use envelopes that have glue??? Just don't lick them...

Simple atmospheric moisture and condensation is enough to bond an envelope closed, experience from leaving a spare box of snailmailshells in a storage unit. The concept is to seal and assure the contents by wax impressed with a unique stamp. Using gummed envelopes detract from the historical significance and amusement...
Also, don't bother sending a wax stamp sealed envelope through USPS or your local service, they fuck the shit up.

As the wax seal may break in modern postal machines, glue the standard envelope together and *then* use your seal.
The seal is just to indicate nobody opened the letter with water steam.

Protect the wax sealed envelope by putting it inside a bigger envelope. Solved.

Or send an email with picture of seal!
