THIS IS AN ANNOUNCEMENT FOR ALL /po/ REGULARS

To sum up what has happened thus far:
•/b/ raids got some of us thinking of escaping
•convenience of /po/ too convenient to truly leave
•several of us decided to create a "Satellite" forum that will exist, which is free for /po/eple to join

And so, "the Paperworks", AKA "/pw/" is born.

/pw/ is meant to be a more robust and in-depth forum allowing people to:
• post in sections to keep things organized
• create user profiles with links to all of their work
• Communicate privately with eachother.
• act as a DEDICATED community.

Nothing will be auto-deleted just because it's been spammed off the edge of the earth (though archiving will still be carried out for sake of keeping free space). IN FACT, spamming and general idiocy will be at a minimum, given several factors-
• /b/ doesn't have a direct link to it at the top of the website at all times
• registration requires that you have a wikidot profile with unique VALID information, PLUS you need to register at the paperworks itself. Spammers will get bored of re-registering using new e-mails and contact info every time they get banned, and spambots can't make their way through the maze of registration.

News on topics relevant to everyone's interests will be available through an RSS feed, as will ALL forum categories, threads, and even user activity. Just click a button and you'll be notified via your RSS reader of choice when new topics arise, someone comments on your work, or when that creator you love makes a new project.

We will continue development of the board to accompany any and all needs of the users, and we will ALWAYS keep our roots with /po/.

what about mods?
nnothing against 4chans mods, but we need better service right aawy

I think the wiki from wikidot makes it look like we are all able to do anything, Like wikipedia are able to change, delete or modify things.
>> dai
We're hiring mods via PM to me on the site- users who have a background in moderation or are well known (and trustworthy) are good candidates. Some people might have to gain a reputation at that forum, especially if they're not -sgafeman- like me and a few others who often browse /po/, since "I was the anon in this post" isn't a reliable example of who you are.

Well Dai, was to be expected that some people prefer the anonymity.
I still think we're doing okay though, we've been hard at work expanding the site already I see.

I still think my CP is the best CP.

I joined.
It'll be interesting to see how this turns out.
I've been here since the first day of /po/, and I'm not going to abandon it, however.
I still believe in the true spirit of /po/.
>> dai
I can add the ability for anons to post without registering on the forums, but as soon as the spam hits the fan, I'm taking it back.
>> Anonymous
:(

It looks like people forgot about the /po/wiki and it's forums already.

Many spammers are willing to take the risk of creating accounts on websites to use just for spam. This is how the /b/ raids of old were conducted.
In other words, your logic is not foolproof.

BTW, I'm gonna try to join in the morning.
>> Anonymous
I'll join too, it seems like a good idea
Only started posting at /po/ a few weeks ago, and had to love the community spirit here

How odd, I registered, I'm on the list of site members (VickyBit), but when I tried to make a new thread, I get this error:
>Permission error
>Sorry, you can not start new discussion thread. Only members of this site, site administrators and perhaps selected moderators are allowed to.
>> dai
vickybit- I've temporarily bumped you to being a moderator. All that really means is that you can move stuff around in the forum, nothing too special.

give it a try again, otherwise I don't know what's wrong :/

The views of this /b/tard-esque anon are not representative of the views or directive of the paperworks.

the whole idea of the paperworks is NOT to leave 4chan, but to provide a satellite site that exists more or less so the users can act on a more personal level when needed, as well as provide web space for creators to display their works, past, present, and in progress.
>> Anonymous
wth.. I can't post in "introduce yourself" thread.

"Oooops!

Sorry, you can not add new post in this thread. Only members of this site, site administrators and perhaps selected moderators are allowed to."
>> dai
>>188033

odd, I know there have been posts recently there. I'll look into it, but I know some people are having issues even getting onto the site at the moment...
>> Anonymous

In order to post you must be a registered member of both Wikidot AND Paperworks.

To become a member of Wikidot click the "create account" link in the top-right corner of the page.

To become a member of Paperworks click the "Join Paperworks" link under the Membership section on the left side of the Paperworks page.
>> Anonymous
>>188050
ok. thx!

>>188051
I posted 3 times in the origami section before that. There's no problem with posting, except for that introduction thread.
So, I'm already a member.

IRC is up.

Dia, I keep clicking the IRC link, and nothing happens.

I get a really really blank page.

Question- do you guys have an IRC program? Kind of important for the link to work.
>> Anonymous
>>189081
that would explain me. Thought it was web based client. grabbing mirc now
>> dai
haha, I figured. Well, don't worry about mIRC's trial time, once you hit the 30-day mark it just nags you like usual, and makes you wait 10 seconds for the continue button.

that, and shows you a picture of the creator guy. He's not photogenic.
>> opm881
>>189088
yea, used to irc alot
>> Storm
Ya, ... *digs out mirc*

But I use Trillian for all my chats. was hoping for the information so I could set up a trillian connection.
>> SEBRET
/pw/ isn't letting me start a thread, it says I don't have permission, and that only members can. Am i not a member even if i have an account?
>> dai
>>189407

a member of wikidot isn't all you need, go back to the registration page ( http://paperworks.wikidot.com/system:join ), and join as a member of /pw/ as well ;D
>> SEBRET
>>189408
thanks, should have seen that earlier
>> gizmogal !MmLOyiCYJs
lol...what? drama?

Nothing's wrong with /po/... it's always been meant to be informal.
This has been tried many times already... why not use the existing sites?

Recently /po/ has been invaded by at least 3 boards, and there's this idiot who likes to bump all our posts off the board.

See>>189430for reference.

/pw/ was established as a forum for us to post threads that don't get killed the first day. Since we're not a really active forum, its easy for us to lose everything.

Important posts and references (like "What ________ does /po/ use?" can go here. This will hopefully reduce the number of THESE types of posts in /po/. Last time I bothered to check there were THREE threads about paper, glue, etc. running at once.
>> ZeroUltimax
/pw/ update!
Any origami lovers here? A new origami only section has been added to /pw/. Go check it out. It's still under making, but it's allready filled with good stuff. If you got awesome link, why don't you go the and help the origami archive grow?
