I've been wondering, especially now that I'm about to begin the "Grand Day Out" rocketship from Wallace and Gromit, if there is a simpler/quicker way to cut out the little glue tabs used on curved parts of papercrafts. You know the ones I mean, hundreds of little white triangles.

The only idea I've come up with is serrated scissors. Have not tried it yet for I'ven't got any, but if i can find a higher blade oscillation than that in the picture, then I could easily be saving hours in the long run.

tl;dr: How does /po/ handle these:

Oh god, wall to wall weeaboos.

I'd handle them with a flamethrower.

well an H-Bomb has proven to be quite effective...
Sorry that was not funny but it was the first thing i thought of when i read above post

depends, its not a BAD idea but the size and angle of the tabs would need to be catered for and that varies depending on the model so its a bit hard..

On many of the crafts i've made, the curves' glue tabs' shape and frequency do not matter very much. A sharper serrate would have been useful when i cut out these parts.

This is what I do. It's easier with a knife, so I just look at 'em and go

\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \

then I go back to the beginning and go

Works great. I have been using these for some time now. A REAL time saver. However, the above mentioned method works just great, too.

i just cut out along the top of the part, leaving a triangle piece to cut out.
cut out the the triangles, and my parts all cut out.
if the tabs are seperated by a little bit, I use my hobby knife to cut the valley out.

Hey thanks, this is much faster.

This is how I do it to.
The most important thing to have for doing /po/ is patience. I think many /po/eple love the finished pictures of the papercrafts, and would love to have an awesome figurine for on their desk, but they don't want to have to spend time on building it so that it looks that good...
Cutting and scoring/folding often takes the most time of the whole building, you just have to persevere.
Making little cuts in paper is so dead-easy, it just is a lot of work sometimes. So be it. If you're able to pull through, you can get great results.

i have about 20 or so of those "specialty" scissors, and they are mostly CRAP. utter CRAP. It doesnt cut very well, and most of the time ends up tearing the paper instead of cutting it. not something thats nice and neat enough for papercraft.
