So i took a piece of paper today... bent it randomly few times... and i figured that its a nice looking modular origami unit.
I've made 2 more units like that... connected em together... and realised that i can actually build something from it.

<--- After an hour of work or so... i've built something like that o.0

Does the unit that i've used there has a name ? Because i wondering what other stuff you could build from it.

I give up. Please tell me that the instructions are not detailed enough and I am not a cretin that doesn't deserve to live, not being able to figure out such simple things.

They have those units in "Modular Origami Polyhedra" by Lewis Simon. I think someone had a PDF of it in a earlier thread.

It's a good book, BTW. They also have instructions to fold them from dollar bills.

Found it:

It's the 108-degree module from page 49 of the PDF.

Thank you.

I've got one halfway done already. I suck at modular origami, so I've used a really small amount of glue on each edge so I could still try it out.

At a certain point, it looks a lot like a metroid. I'll take a picture and upload it in a moment.

Now if I had just used green instead of white, and put red paper inside all the holes...

It's also possible to weave about 6 or so strips of paper together to make a dodecahedron like that.

Anyone have the one with the face on it? I don't know its name so I can't search for it.
