And when said people get more attention for their cranes than we get with say, an Ancient Dragon.

i dont get step 6 ... ;(

Step 6 is the only "difficult" fold in the crane (I say difficult, I mean, it's difficult when you start out. Once you do that type of fold a couple of times it gets easier).

Basically, the two symmetrical ones are valley folds (so fold them towards you as a precrease) and the top horizontal on is a mountain fold (so flip the paper over and fold it towards you, or keep the paper the same way and fold it behind).

Look at step 7 for help and try to make a 3D model of it in your mind. Basically, you're pulling the bottom of the paper's top flap up to the top, and the side bits kind of "fold in" as you do it. If you still don't get it, search youtube to see exactly what has to be done.

I have folded cranes for years and i have never folded that crease at that point. I always fold those lines in one of the first steps like the pic shows

I always have a hard time sinking the crane's hump, plus it never really inflates like the OP picture seems to depict.

Quoted for truth. People are always amazingly impressed by the crane, but hardly care about what else one could make using a square sheet.

Joseph Wu's elitist faggotry on Thekhans makes me raaaaaaggeee. So does my brother for asking me to make EVE and Star Wars papercraft models.
