Makin' a Request. Mankip
I'm working on a Chell costume, and I was wondering a few things:
Could someone repost the latest portal gun PDO?
Are there templates or files of the leg springs?
For the TF2 sentry gun papercraft, has anyone tried making it? Because I print it out, and it's so small that I can't actually build it. But in a reference pic, it's as big as a laptop almost.
Any advice? I'll post any requests from my otherwise huge library of templates.

Thanks! I find it incredibly arousing that you had my picture saved. I take it you were at Acen? :D
>> dai
THAT IS YOU?!

yes, I'm an Acen-goer, and to be honest, I posted that picture up on page 12 of the thread I put up, so I saved it back out because I thought it was relavent to you...

haha, crazy.

Yeah, that's me unfortunately. XD
How'd you manage to get a hold of a 3d model printer?
Also, you going to orange box cosplay this upcoming year? I'm going as the spy and chell.
>> dai
well, We did it all for Acen '08, but if you need any help with designing some of this stuff let me know. It's probably easier to get a hold of me through paperworks.wikidot.com

also, the 3d printer is at my college, in which I'm -technically- staff.

Sweet, I'll drop you a PM. Feel free to IM me sometime, InternetCojax.
I'm hittin' the sack though. Night, fair /po/!

you ever getting back to me on this, kip boy?

if you want a kick in the right direction, Chell's suit is actually a standard issue flight suit, with fancy white trim added.

All the pockets are there, it even surprised us when we found it way back at the beginning of the year.

also, I'll see if I can't strike a deal with my girlfriend to see if we can get you the leg pieces we made... they were 3d data directly out of the game, 1:1 scale, so I ASSUME they're right.

...just gotta re-paint them.

...don't expect to walk around with the spring on your legs, they weigh about 4 pounds each, are made of cold sharp steel, and are HELL when it comes to stairs.

Do you have the .pdo for those?

I didn't make them out of papercraft, I actually used a full-fledged rapid prototyping machine to build the model out of polystyrene plastic.

As for the spring things, those were one-inch wide strips of 1/8" steel that we had our friend blacksmithify a curve into it using a railroad tie as an anvil.

...good times, good times.

:O really? How much would we be talking? As long as it's not a testicle I might be interested. And thanks for the link on the flightsuit, I was looking really

hard for one. (Accidentally hit submit.)
I'm going to the print shop later next week to print out the PDO model, and when it's assembled I was thinking of maybe spraying it with epoxy or something to make it stronger, then going from there with polystyrene, wonderflex, and what have you.

Krylon Seal Coat does good. It's what I use.

As for the white border things around the pockets and such, I suggest getting some matte ribbon at a walmart. I believe it was... 3/4". Also, spraypainting the logo on the back of the flightsuit sucks. Cut out fabric shapes for that part, you'll be glad you did.

Also, I can't do much about the leg bits, but I can try and find the model and make a PDO out of it for ya.

Wasn't there someone who made a finished portal gun? Did they ever finish the model? Do we has pics?

Do you have the 3d rendering still? I'm thinking rather than do a papercraft I can make my own version of a prototype printer by making a step file of it in solidworks and print it on some kind of foam or something...

If you could make a PDO out of them I would be in your debt. :O
Also, no biggie on the logo, I have some screenprinting supplies I need to use up.

For the love of god, someone please post the .pdo of the leg springs
