File :-(, x, )

Hi

I'd like to know how to open the Haruhi .pdo file from Mizuiro Gakuen's site. I try to open with Pepakura Designer but it says that I need a password. Help?
>> Anonymous
Pepakura VIEWER to view and print it.
Pepakura DESIGNER to open and edit it, but sometimes this is not allowed, when the designer LOCKS it, if he deosn't want people to edit his work. The password would be a password from Mizuiro Gakuen, but I don't think he'll give it (because why would he lock the file with a password if he's willing to give the password afterwards?)

But like I said, you don't need it to just view and print the file.

I want to change the size of the model.

you can't do that directly on locked pdo's, unless you're willing to do screengrabs, pasting the pieces together in paint, saving as a bmp, then you could print any size you want

that sounds hard :( I've heard that I could do that on pepakura designer but I guess I heard wrong.

you CAN do that with Pepakura DESIGNER, but if the pdo is LOCKED like the one you have from the sounds of it, you need the password which you do not have (it's not a serial or something for Pepakura Designer program if that's what you're thinking, it's a password for the pdo-FILE, NOT for the Pepakura-PROGRAM, so nobody here can find it...) so that's not an option...

I see. Well, that sucks. Thanks for the help anyway.

Well, isn't disassembling and hex editing an option? Its just a simple .pdo file. I bet it doesn't have the greatest security ever devised.

Just wondering, where did you get the file.
I might try to crack it.

Heh, sorry guys. I forgot that I said something in this thread, so I just downloaded the file.

Since it's 4:30 in the morning here, I'll try to hack it tomorrow.

Also, great site for learning how to hack:

Here is a picture of my left hand and the quakeguy I made. Looks crappy on a close-up but he looks good on my shelf.
Anyway: big hands don't disable you.

Quick update: No luck. It seems that all the code in in kanji. My compy can't parse it correctly so all I end up with is a bunch of techno-jibberish. And most likely the password is in Japanese too. But I encourage others to try and slay this dragon of a challenge.
Mind you, I'm only a small step up from a complete hacking noob, so just because I can't do it doesn't mean it can't be done.

One interesting thing:
In the japenese pdo I saw was a weird 32 digit hash. I downloaded an english pdo and it seems that the hash is some kind of code. {see pic]

'scuse me for having not used Windows for almost a year now, but isn't it possible to 'print' it out on obnoxiously large paper (which would actually be a PDF) and then print it out at double size or something? Or do it with the PDF and ignore the craptastical resolution?

Just a thought.
