How many parts? Anonymous
What's the biggest papercraft you ever built/would be willing to build? I don't mean big as in size, but as in how many parts? 50? 100? Don't care?
Have a 1-part Borg Cube for your trouble.

The biggest part-count thing I ever built was a victorian mansion. It was something like 18,000 pieces on about 600 pages. It sucked.

I would say the highest part count I would be willing to do was 800 after that.

600 pages? was it like 1:1 scale or something?

It was about 5 foot by 7 foot by 5.5 feet tall. I guess that made it 1/8 or 1/10 scale. It had furniture and everything. It is probably still available, a friend of mine bought it in Germany back in '98 at a hobby show.

Dudes, lots of people built the Eva Units annd other Inner Brain models, they're not very difficult, so it's no big deal really. They're just big.

You must be new to /po/: http://members.home.nl/saarloos/awmodels.htm

>>55648
The picture IS from Ninjatoes actually: he posted it some time ago because /po/ was curious what he built so far; of course he builds his own papercrafts. ;)

>>55646did you scan in the hippo and girl and the buildings that came with them
I hve no idea what you're talking about; I don't see a hippo anywhere in this thread... The girl I think you mean is the Yumeria girl, there's actually five of them. I think /po/ rapidshared it a long time ago, so when http://rapidsearch.yi.org/ is back up, you might find it there.
As for the buildings, I see several, I recognise some SimCity 3000 buildings from http://home.hetnet.nl/~puttycat/paperbuildings/download.htm the hovel from http://www.fantasycutouts.com/free.html and some buildings from Wizards of the Coasts http://www.fantasycutouts.com/free.html

I would not count it as size by parts exactly – a papercraft could be 1,000 squares afterall. So I would say I would draw the line at a papercraft that would take me more than 120 full session-days (about 600 hours) in just cutting out pieces alone.

i had a sphere i made once (ok i made three of em, but lets not go there) made of origami sectionals... aprox 150 per sphere, about 20 folds each. If i can dig up instructions for it i will post em here, its a pretty cool model

i have done origami since i was a kid, but have only made like 3 1-sheet models so far

i just started on a ~60 piece volvo 850 race car and it is taking me forever
