>>163891 It's free, and it's what I've started using just recently. I've been able to make some cool models, though I haven't been able to make some of them into papercrafts yet.
Learning curve? Um, well, since I started using it, it was my first 3D modeling program ever, and if you'll look on my blog (www.goblinpaper.blogspot.com) the Guitar Hero notes took me 4 hours to model. Seriously. However, I had no idea what I was doing, and I didn't read any tutorials. If you'll also take a look at my blog, you'll see the Lucky Star cat. That one took me about one hour to make, and it was the third model I ever did. I also did the cataquacks after I had made about 4 more models. Know how long it took me to make the models for those? 20 minutes. And I still have not read one tutorial to this day.
On the downside to not reading tutorials, I have no rightly idea how to texture. So I guess the learning curve is slightly steep if you don't read tutorials, but I found it's easy enough to learn on your own if you just apply yourself.
