I see what u did there...

can't right now. I have way too much shit I gotta pay for at the moment.
besides, I still haven't figured out how to print off the first two I bought.
no one has helped me figure out how to get the margins set on my Canon MP530. I checked the canon website and the manual didn't help at all.
no one responded to my previous posts either...
so we're kinda stuck at the moment I'm afraid. Maybe I'll buy it once I figure these first two out and I get paid again.

go into the printer settings, or when you go to print go to 'page setup'

I kinda know how to do that lol.
I don't know how to set the printer margins properly for doing double sided printing.
whenever I print it off the backside is off by about a centimeter or so.

Tohru-kun have you thought of printing the two sheets on 80gsm paper and then glueing the parts back to back ?

I have made a few models that requires just that and I had no problem folding, and glueing two parts glued back to back.

I've thought about that, but some of the parts on these models are white pieces with nothing but tabs on the backside.
If it were that simple, I'd be all over that :(

Yeah I know what you mean, the creator has made it quite hard to print out. I just assumed that they mailed you the pre-printed sheets. Maybe the japanese instructions contain hints on how to print correctly ?

I've been using a Canon MP470 ever since my Lexmark 5150 died last summer. I think I'll go back to Lexmark after this printer. I liked the settings better. I could get really nice prints and stretch my printer ink at the same time.

So far I haven't been able to get the Pixma series to do many of the things I want it to. I'll try to remember to look around and see if I can find anything.

"I don't know how to set the printer margins properly for doing double sided printing.

Ha ha, what an utter coincidence! According to the japanese gibberish txt, it says: "You do not have to worry about the lag of about 3 mm because they have done it so that they absorb it." Tho, I'm not really sure what they meant by "absorb". But I'm guessing it means It still should work out okay.

Let's see if this copypasta helps you.

Printing to the printer is as easy as just pushing the print button from your favorite program, but buried in many menus are a lot of configurations that will allow you to set the print quality, paper type and even do double sided printing. On a printer like this double sided printing is a very nice feature. It is not a clearly marked feature, but you can find it, if you look under the printer properties on the page setup tab -- it is called Duplex Printing. If you don't know what duplex means then this will really confuse you because that same section talks about stapling. This printer does not include a stapler, but instead will leave a margin so that you can staple the pages later. For some reason, I don't know why, Canon thought it would make sense to put duplex printing and stapling together. I would have preferred a simple checkbox that said Double Sided printing. Once you have it setup double sided printing works great.

There's also this from CNET reviews:

One feature we really like on this machine is the built-in duplexer, which allows for automatic double-sided printing and copying. This is a boon for anyone trying to save money or the environment. When copying, you can reduce or enlarge by using preset ratios (25 to 400 percent), custom ratios (zoom), or automatic ratios (fit to page). You can also adjust the exposure and the image quality or copy to both sides of the page. Other special copy functions include 2-on-1 or 4-on-1 copy, sticker copy, borderless copy, image repeat, and collated copy.

I'm about to finish making the reimu model. I printed this a couple of times using the pdf files but it just won't work so I created a bmp image, copied and pasted the parts with the border as guide and I printed 'em out. The difference is only about 2 or 3mm.

And yeah, I'd love to make the sakuya model too.
