PVA bonds instantly (unless you're too eurodyke to properly use it), cures in minutes, dries clear, no stringiness, its "washable" means you have to soak it several minutes in hot soapy water to remove it from textile, it doesn't stain, clear coats can be applied over it, inexpensive, widely available in worthwhile countries, and doesn't leave tacky residue. Using both it and UHU, I've found UHU can get stringy, leaves tacky residue, can't seal or clearcoat over it, and after about 5 years hardens, yellows, and releases.
