I used to make these with magazine covers run through a straight-edge paper shredder. The result is actually pretty cool, and very colorful. If you're really interested in how to make these, I could post a video. They aren't hard at all.
Video, please.
I can never get that 3d part done... but anyway, here is a link:http://www.mathematische-basteleien.de/froebelsstar.html
>>61464I just cut strips out from some paper....dvana's use of a straight-edge paper shredder should work wonders to.I do however want to make one around ½ the size, but I need to locate some thinner paper first.

Card makers use paper tape for quilling. Don't know if it would do but it's long and comes in different widths and colours.
where do you find that?..
Here's mine!

>>61795Ohh that is really really cool, gotta try making that one.Releated to your question on where to get paper, I would just cut some thing strips from some a3 paper.
>61810It is called "quilling paper" and some craft shops sell it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quilling has links. If you google quilling paper suppliers appear.
Lol, I thought I'd try my hand at making a tiny crane. I grabbed what I had closest to me - a gum wrapper.Sorry its sloppy ~ it probably would have looked better if I had a pair of tweezers or something.
You call those small?
