Hi /po/, I've got a problem.

I want to scale Canti to wearable, but I'm having a hard time since Pepakura reads the body still even if its not chosen in the object list, throwing off the calculations.

I've already made 2 versions, one small, the next a little bit bigger but by no means wearable.

Is there a way to delete the body?

I think dragging the pieces off of the sheets entirely works.

Yeah, but he can't exactly calculate how big the head would be, he would just have to estimate.

Just take it into a 3D modeling program and delete the body off of the model. Or if there's an easier way, please, someone say it.

The problem I'm facing is a scaling issue; for instance when I try to rescale them to print, it does the whole body, instead of just the helmet even if the body isn't chosen on the objects list.

I'm tempted to do it as big as possible to see if I can get a reference from that, but at the same time I don't want an oversized helm.

The only way to do what your describing is to undo the unfold and select the head in objects then unfold just the head.

I'm trying that now, got rid of a few extra pieces that I don't plan on doing in papercraft. I like the size of the screen this time around (one full 8.5x11 page), but I'm still alittle worried about these dimensions that it spits at me...

166.9cm x 126.1 cm x 48.6cm. If this is accurate, the helmet is going to be HUGE.

If you want I to upload the pdo I can adjust it for you to A good size and reupload so you can unfold it. I would think 30 cm. height would be sufficient.

alright the only problem I can see with it at the moment is the screen needs A line running down the center so it can be split into 2 pages. Would anybody happen to have the 3ds file still?

I've got .6KT and .OBJ...

Thanks.

Alright, got it resized to A usable size I believe I put A line down the middle of the screen so it can be split up, it is A seperate pdo. For some reason I was concentrating on the screen but realized you want A wearable helmet and asked myself how the hell is he gonna see out of the screen if it's paper. LOL

Thanks a lot bud, though I'm starting to think my Pepa has its own units of measurement. The file I just grabbed from you has dimensions of 177.8 x 134.4 x 51.8cm.

Am I crazy?

I think the problem is you have the print config set to landscape instead of portrait. Go up to configuration and select print and paper configuration, switch it to portrait.

This is the file I sent back to you.

I think I'm just gonna go with it and give it a try, my pieces match yours, just the dimensions don't add up.

Thanks for everyones help.

no problem, glad to help ^_^

Just finished my papercraft Canti helmet, its amazing. I plan on resining and glassing tomorrow. Thanks again for the help. For some reason, my laptop read the dimensions as something crazy. Once I loaded it on my desktop it came out with not as scary dimensions.

Also, there was a thread that was hella relevant to my interests and has pretty much inspired me to do an entire costume from this very model.

Will post pictures someday soon...

Cool, I see that it fits then. For the screen you could use some clear acetate and window tint, that would probably look pretty good.

Pretty sweet actually...was that with the 30cm scale? And how big is your head...lol?

Also...how many of the edges aren't actually joined in that model? I assume the side spikes are not, but any more?

I actually have a pieces of plexiglass I plan on using, from my other Canti cosplay.

>>193735
Not many of the parts were actually joined. For instance, the head piece was 5 or 6 pieces, then the back was like 3. I had to get creative by making supports to hold them in.

My heads not that big, just the space for inside the helm is limited. Because the only real place for my head to fit is the space for the plexiglass. I start resining soon, weather pending......
