glue it on bristol board?

to be honest, I think it will support itself just fine without extra support. I built Plus Chan from the same creator, the models are very well designed and can actually take a modest beating. (long story on how I found that one out...)

so, long story short, plain old printer paper is good. Copier paper is kind of flimsy, though. Check if you have 20# or 24#. they're NOTICEABLY different.

(you want 24#, by the way)

what is this 20# 24# ?
printer paper is not too weak?

i have 80g/m^2
is it good?

80# is a good thickness to do papercrafts with, I suppose.

# (called pound) refers to the "weight" of the paper. the higher the weight, the thicker and sturdier it is.

cheap stuff you find in a copy machine is usually 20, good paper for home printing is 24. Stuff like Construction Paper and Cardstock can be anywhere between 80# and 110#.

lots of people suggest you buy 110# cardstock, but I always find it too thick to do small folds with.

If you still don't understand what I'm talking about, just ask someone at the store next time you go out to buy paper ;D

by the way, if you're new to papercrafting, I wouldn't suggest doing that model, but I can't say DON'T do it. My first real papercraft was PlusChan here.

took me all day to figure it out, though.

ok ok. but
i cant print on #80
its to hard for my printer i hope
>> dai
what kind of printer is it?

if you can't print on that paper, try taking your files and some of your paper to an office supply store like office max or whatever you have by you. They can print whatever you need onto your paper, for a few dollars.

AH, I see. From what I can tell, your 80g/m^2 is right in between the 20 and 24 I've been talking about.

Everything should print fine, and that model should be safe to build by itself.

Sorry for confusing you by not noticing g/m^2 instead of # !

all of the projects from the creator are found here- http://www.eonet.ne.jp/~terrasse/

that particular papercraft is Lunar Chan, downloadable here- http://www.eonet.ne.jp/~terrasse/lunar_s.zip

it comes with instructions, but they're in japanese. Just open up the HTML page, it's got pictures that are pretty self-explanatory. (see picture for an in-progress look at the page and plus-chan)

I tried gluing the Epson Christmas tree to poster board and then assembling it, but it's extremely rigid and is nearly impossible to glue together.
I used to just use regular copy machine paper, but it's flimsy as fuck, so I now use #67 weight cardstock. It works just fine with my HP Deskjet 6980 printer.
