I use glue sticks (whatever cheap ones I find), and super glue. Glue stick is a pain to apply (chunks get cut off by the tabs, you get it all over your fingers, etc) and takes a while to dry, but in general it gives a good bond and is really lightweight. For straighforward parts the gluestick and sometimes some tape is all you need, but for parts that need to be held together to dry, I just add a couple of dots of super glue. With the glue stick underneath the superglue, you still have a few seconds to reposition before the superglue hardens, and it holds things together while the glue stick dries. Sometimes I do the really tricky parts with just superglue. The downside is that it sticks to your fingers instantly and hurts like hell to get off.
This is all for 110 lb cardstock. I haven't done anything with paper yet.
