I am the one who posted earler and get paid to make papercraft models. This is my suggetions to all who want to try to make a living at something like this. I would begin by diving as deep into a 3d program as you possibly can. Learn the basics needed to create papercraft. I have professional training (ie, a degree) in graphic and commercial art and 3d animation. But to make papercraft you do not need a degree. You need to understand basic polygonal modeling, and if you would like to be able to move your characters into different poses you will also need to learn some rigging, and animation. But realistically all you need to know is basic polygonal modeling. Use your experience from building papercraft models in your desiging of the models and the work in pepakura will be significantly easier. Lastly a few notes: 1) I do not make my living on papercraft creation alone. I am an art director for a company and own my own graphics firm that i work on the side. 2)Do what you love, and the money will follow. 3)Art is awesome, so is papercraft
