i really wanna make a set of papercrafts from Final Fantasy 7.
i made cloud and sephiroth
would anyone help and make one for barret, tifa, sid, or any others?
or direct me where to find them
i looked on teh other site with all the other papercrafts, but i only found these guys and a bunch of monsters

can anyone plz help me i would love to at least have barret]

THANX
>> Cotton Eyed Joe
No barret. No tifa. No sid. There are a few universal FF summons, the chocobo, and some enemies, and the Highwind.
>> Anonymous
then would anyone care to make the model? or must i pull them outta the game and figure this one out by myself?
(don't really have much of a background in pepakura a all)
>> Anonymous
Sid?!? How about Cid!
>> GoblinGuy
>>137452
Usually that's the case. If you want something made, gotta make it yourself. But with popular series such as Final Fantasy, maybe you can find someone to pick it up for you.
>> Anonymous
i'm looking through the files and i alrady found the scientist guy and sum sweer vehicles like the copter from the costa de sol intro. i'll keep looking. if anyone wants sum file names i could give you them, and maybe someone can help me make a model

thanx
>> Anonymous
sry i dont remember names

the guy who wears the white scientist coat
a new sephiroth
and more

plz tell me if you are interested in any of these

sry for the double post, but i now have CID BARRET, the white magic girl, TIFA, 2 NEW VERSIONS OF SEPHIROTH, AND CAITH SITH,

i'll need to find weapons, but i think i might make a few models, and i might post them up if they turn out any good. if anyone wants the files to make their own plz post.

I'd like to have Cid, Hojo (scientist), the two Sephiroths and if you can find him, Rufus Shinra and Safer Sephiroth (the one with wings for legs and a halo and all that stuff from the next to last fight with him.)

*pic related. it's safer sephiroth*
>> Anonymous
yeah i kinda blanked.

o and i had afer sephiroth, but due to the bottom dangly tentacles things i didn't deem him worth of papercraft.

i cant upload them here because of the format, but if i gave out the file names would that be okay?
or can you think of a better way?
>> Anonymous
>>137502

... then upload them somewhere else? Not rocket science, use MegaUpload or Rapidshare.
>> Anonymous
k sure, but i think i sum how used biturn wrong, because it wont let me open it in 3ds max.

any help?

TO KEEP THE ORIGINAL MODEL WHEN PUT INTO PEPAKURA PLZ
CHOOSE NO CHANGE, THEN PURPLE, THEN INVERT THE MODEL.

THIS SHOULD KEEP THE TRUE MODEL
>> Anonymous
Won't saneperson make more ff models?
>> Anonymous
I have been on his site and looks like he's not making anymore. Says that he has given up pepakura.
>> Anonymous
thats why i posted this. i would like some one or maybe a couple people to help make some of these models.

plz download the battle.rar and c what you can do

thnx
>> Anonymous
I'm working on a file called Iyaa right now, looks like some Imp peering out of a pot?
Sorting out the flaps as some of them overlap. Let you when I have finished.
>> Anonymous
sick, thanx
i got that one cause i thought it would make a great papercraft
lol
>> Anonymous
Sorry I forgot to add this. Do you want the model as a pdo or pdf file?
If you want a pdf, it's beyond me as I don't know how to export in pepakura unless I export them as individual images and use Serif to combine,
pdo files I can deal with.
>> Anonymous
either one is cool
>> Anonymous
Is it just my computer or do are the character models missing their eyes and mouths?
>> Anonymous
eeeee
yeah i relized that after the upload.
there are separate files for the eyes and mouths, because they are mapped on, and not part of the mesh
um...
i'll try to see what i can do
i might have to refind all the faces
gimme a day and it should be done

sry
>> Anonymous
fyi they are also missing weapons.
i could prob make them from scratch, but i really dont know how the sizing works cause these models wont load for me in lightwave or 3ds max

any suggestion on loading them?
or has anyone else tried to load them in 3ds max and failed?

Oh, just a side-note; this is my first time doing anything with models, so I've got to to thank you for uploading them. This'll give me a chance to mess around with them. Who knows, I may be able to actually do something myself.

Paper of what density must be used for papercrafts if laserprinting?
80g is too thin, i presume...
Then 130, 170 or 200?
>> Anonymous
i use 200gsm
>> Anonymous
HERE IT IS
this download has the models (end in aa)
the weapons (end in ck)
and bitmaps for the faces

there is one eye in each bitmap, so you will have to reverse it

the mouths are in the middle (normally a line)

hope everything turns out okay

this one has safer sephirtoh, but i don't think he is papercraftable
lol
>> Kratos
>>138253
hmm...i'm not sure he could sit up on his own but perhaps a stand could be made to put him on for display?
>> Anonymous
I know how noobish this sounds, but I've been trying to make the sephiroth model, but I can't get the chest section right. does anyone have a better picture than the one that comes with it?
>> Anonymous
How can i put eyes and mouth on them?
>> Anonymous
>>138464
By applying the eye and mouth textures to the polygons. See the help section of the 3D software you are using to see how to do that.

the face is giving me some trouble... i'm trying to add the eyes and mouth but, since i'm not very good at texturing, though i am getting better at it, it might take a while
>> Anonymous
desperately requesting the net for this
if anyone has it please please please provide!
>> Anonymous
if you have/can get 3ds max 7, 8, or 9 it is as easy as taking out the pink or green background of the .bmp in PS, and then click the polygons for the eyes or whatever, and click and drag.
IDK what prog you're using, but it is fairly easy to torrent a good 3d modeling program to to this
>> Anonymous
this is what i have so far if anyone is interested in finishing it

>> Anonymous
look good so far. keep it up.
i might wanna help in a bit, but right now i'm swamped so keep making progress. Also you might wanna work on getting the polys to not overlap, but other than that it's pretty good
>> Anonymous
you guys will release all the 'models'?
and you intent to 'low' the polygons for optimizing making a papercraft?
>> Anonymous
the poly count should be low enough, but if you need help i have a poly crusher.

also, all models have been released. please check the begining of the topic. the uploads are there
>> Anonymous
>>140369the poly count should be low enough, but if you need help i have a poly crusher.
Preparing 3D models for use in Pepakura is not just a matter of lowering the polycount; it's a matter of lowering the polycount in such a smart way, that you think ahead how you will be able to build the final papercraft.
If you use automated tools for that, they don't think that way. It is always better if you do it by hand, otherwise you might have a very nice subject that everybody wants a papercraft of, but it will not be very fun/nearly impossible to build.
>> Anonymous
agreed, but if the poly count is too high then a polycrunch is necessary, and then you can fix the topology. I'm a 3d modeler, so i have experience in fixing poly count.
>> Anonymous
>>140376
lowering the polycount is something that just happens when you make the 3D model more buildable, it's not necessary to do it seperately before you start thinking about how to make the model into a papercraft.
If you have some good ideas on how to make a good papercraft from a high poly model, then you don't need to lower the poly count. Making 3D models and making 3D models to make into papercrafts using Pepakura require very different thinking.

If you have a lower arm made out of 100 polygons, you can manually make it into having just 6 polygons or something (just a "tube"), Then you made the part easier to build, and as a result, the polycount is lower. Not the other way around.

Sometimes if you have a nice, low poly model, you actually need to increase the polycount by making parts to help you build a digital model in real life out of paper.

Lowering the polycount is not the secret in making good papercrafts and not even a necessary step (although in 100% (rounded off lol) of the times, the final polycount will be lower as a RESULT of the work you have to do).

I really believe that /po/ can get better papercrafts when the enthusiasts that try it will realize this.
