With this one and printing it, you will probably need to edit the face parts that are a solid color until when printed it looks like the same green shades as on the fins.

Nice, looks like you had fun making these! ;o)
But I'm missing your Blast Mask?
And I also checked the Deku Mask and the Keaton Mask since I remember seeing those on /po/ earlier?

>>62953
Why is it..green?
>> Anonymous
>>62958
You need to print it on a crappy printer with the "save ink" option and then the colro will be right.
Maybe he did it from memory and thought Zora was green, but it's actually blue/green almost white. Oh well, edit it if you like.

I eagerly await a complete .rar

thank you good sir!

Fucking love this thread so much.

Kepp 'em coming, I NEEDS me some Majora's Mask.
>> MenelMakar
>>62960
Two things.
1) I am a SHE.
2) I used screencaptures from an emulation of Majora's mask to create every last of the masks I am working on. THe Zora is green as a base skin color, with highights in lighter colors to "almost white." The colors of any mask depends on your location, and specifically, the lighting of the location where you take the screencapture.

Oh, thank you sooo-o much. These are really wonderful. They will be made right away and put on display with all my other Zelda paper. Awesome!

Correction, thank you kind madam!

As a fellow woman, I certainly appreciate the time and effort. I would help you in your endeavor if I had the time, really I would.

Perhaps tomorrow, otherwise it will have to wait until I'm done with summer classes in 6 weeks x.x

also that keaton mask is fine too.

How long was your hiatus from the internets? I know that one of the users, Jimbim, has been ripping the models from Majora's Mask. He's had some trouble with the WRL files they're in. It seems that the mask form and the textures for each mask are in two seperate files, and everything likes to either resize itself or flip upside down when taken out of the game. If I remember correctly, he was uploading it to filesharing hosts, so hopefully rapidsearch has it in its archive. I'll go check.

It looks like there are, but I don't have the proper software on this computer right now to check through everything. It looks like everything with a Majora's Mask name from 6 days ago will probably have some of the stuff that he was uploading, but I think the major package was on 4shared.com, and either I don't know what I'm looking for well enough, or rapidsearch didn't save it.

OP: If you have an email address, I can upload the .rar of .wrl files from majora's mask to my private server, email the link to you, then delete when you've got them, and I also have the three .rars of the twilight princess models

I've got the twilight princess .3ds ones too, if you want those links, let me know.

>> Anonymous !4X8vLLNDE2
>>63114

Not really. Several studies have shown women to have better spacial reasoning, which is what it takes to make a 3-D object into a flat pattern, or a flat pattern into 3D in your mind.

What happened to your website?
>> Anonymous
>>63126
And other studies claim the exact opposite. Moral of the story: do not believe "studies" like these.
There are lots of people building and designing paper models, young and old, male and female, some post regularly, some not at all so we don't even know 1% of all of them, so how are we supposed those to tell if they're male or female? And out of those that we do know, how are we supposed to know if Anon is male or female? And of those Anons that we do know, how are we supposed to know if they're really female when they claim to be?
There are lots of guys doing stuff like this as well, how would we know if most of the papercrafts makers are male or female? Many is the best you could say, but most? No way too tell.
Only saging because my rant is completely is off topic. ;p)
>> Jen
>>63155

Yeah, it's like that saying goes. __% of all statistics are made up on the spot. I heard in middle school of one of the studies that said males had better spatial skills. I wonder if they remembered to take out left handed people, because they in general tend to have better spatial skills. 1 out of every 10 people are left-handed, but only 1 out of every 4 left-handed people are female. That can tip the scales rather quickly. Take that away from both sides, and they're probably even. I doubt that there's any real difference in spatial ability among the sexes because it would have been just as important for both sides of the species for survival.

Some others were asking about the .wrl file format. Maybe the following websites will help with some information, including how to view them with various programs.
http://www.cs.ucl.ac.uk/staff/B.Buxton/readme.htm
http://filext.com/file-extension/WRL
http://people.scs.fsu.edu/~burkardt/data/wrl/wrl.html

You can also look online for ".wrl file" on google, or VRML models, because that's basically what the .wrl file is. The texture for each .wrl file is usually in a .jpg format stored seperately, but that's just what they say is the most common form to go with it.

http://www.mediamachines.com/downloads.php

Some nice downloads I stumbled across for 3D files. It sounds like the Flux Player plug-in works better than the cosmo plug-in for IE and Netscape. I've also found this discussion on the site's forums to be helpful.

although you can view vrml files through your webbrowser (they were developed for this, to show 3D worlds in a web browser) if you want to use them for papercraft you need to find a program to convert them to preferably Wavefront obj format. Dunno if you can that from your browser, usually a standalone software works better for this purpose.
>> Jen
>>63170

Yeah, that's why I was just talking about viewing them. For opening them in a program where you can mess with them, I'd probably import them into Blender, and then export them as another file type. Wavefront .obj can be used in the free version of Metasequoia easily, so that's what would work best for papercraft purposes.

So... has anybodies even attempted the requested for me? The ears and nose for the KEaton mask, the snout for the deku mask, all those damned hoods (Kamaro's, etc) ...? And does anybody at all feel the want to help me? I don't have much time on my hands, I have an animation class I'm going to be going to soon so then I'll have even less time. And if anybody comes up with anything, please! in addition to posting it here, where the thread will be deleted before I can see it, please e-mail it to me at dreamsprite@wapda.com. The only time I get internets is when I can siphon off some unsecured in my area, and whenever they leave, they leave it on, and here I am.

But that's the beauty of it! If you want to make a papercraft, you can make it whenever you want, don't feel like it needs to be done by the end of the week... If you get bored of it and don't feel like making all the masks: then that's absolutely fine as well. You're not working for /po/, you're making these for you.

I know, I was just saying you shouldn't get all stressed because you feel obligated to work on it because of /po/ (bad for your (mental) health) ;)
I'm not good at making papercrafts so I wouldn't know how to help you. What do you need help on?
>> MenelMakar
>>63286
That, I am sad to say, has already been stated. The octagonal snout for the Deku mask (because of laziness and cruched time) The ears and nose for the KEaton mask (I can't get them to curve right or anything even remotely correct) and the hoods (like the Bunny Hood, Kamaro's mask, the Captain's hat, the Postman's hat, etc.)

I say, however I may sound, I am in a really good mood. I just found out that theevilempire has moved to their own website, so I can steal from their old one without anybody else hogging the rescources. So I have all the episodes of Yu Yu Hakusho and Venus Versus Virus.

>> Jen
>>63288

I think you sound like you're in a rather good mood. You're an art student going to college. You just said you were going to be enrolled in an animation class soon. As a fellow art student, it sounds like you'll have enough on your plate this semester.

I probably won't have all the time in the world once classes start. It always depends on how well the scheduled times for classes work out for me. How often my boyfriend calls tends to add to the confusion. But if someone could give me a list of all the masks in Majora's Mask and what each one looks like, then I'd probably be able to help a bit. I prefer to work mostly by trial and error so far, because I tend to think in 3D better in my mind than I do in the 3D modeling programs. I'm trying to change that, but it's slow going.

just to ruin the thread a little, fuck off those studies.

back on the thread, madam I bow before you and rest assured I will kiss your feet if you make awesome fierce deity mask, keep on the good work

Reminds me of fucking teachers for an A.

We could request that MenelMakar use her skills from the animation class to make porn for us, but the board is worksafe.

Then again, if you kiss her feet it could be a worksafe version of the foot fetish.
