Okay... Ruining the trick. If you really don't want to know... don't read. The table is hollow, the skirtin hids the fact that the bottom of the table box is actually several inches lower than it "appears". The "riser" and "floating paltform" that the origami box sits on are also hollow and part of the box. Each section is several inches thick but painting them black and trimming them in silver make the appear thinner. The actual box is something like 3 x 1 feet deep. with a lid on the top the size of the larger box. The assistant gets in, in a "resverable" 2 colour top or a tear away costume. Steps into the table-box (see 10-20 years of dance and flexability training) and wiggles the top around or tears away costume. Everyone watches time buying "box" being folded and sword flashy flashy. Swords removed, Origami box unfolded, assistant steps out. Everyone goes ooooh!...Aaaah! clap clap clap.
