Hey /po/
Is there a gears of war Lancer-gun papercraft out there? I'm going to try and construct my own replica this summer. I have a few airsoft guns that I'm thinking to use to make it 'functional'. But I'd need a shell to work with first.

Since it's now on the PC, I'm wondering if anyone has extracted the model and made one.

OP here, I've dabbled with the idea of a lancer for a while now, but this is actually what made me seriously consider the project when I saw it a few days ago. :D

Here OP, this is a low-quality model, but perhaps it will make for a good base? Perhaps someone could use this to make one, if anyone is at all good at making plans

OP here.
I wish I could help you out but I don't have it on PC, otherwise I'd try and find a model viewer or take screenshots.

Does this help: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=9642b6d77734a1c351cfdb4c9f126c12# ? perhaps theres a way to convert it to a file you can use?

I really don't know if these help you, I'm not a modeler, I dunno what you can use. But heres some others

I´ve looked around and theres a OBJ exporter for sketchup 4.x here http://de.sketchup.com/?id=882

Can someone try this and upload the OBJ incl. Textures? Otherwise i`ll try it with sketchup, never used it though

Ahh skip that -.- Some Lancers are Sketchup 5 and 6 is the latest.. 6 pro can actually export to OBJ.. but from the looks of it, the models really need to be cleaned up and some detail has to be added, since in real life theres no normal mapping :-/ Otherwise i think it´ll look like a lego toy in 1:1 scale..

Speaking of scale.. what do you think are the dimensions of the thing. Maybe like the M41A Pulse rifle model or a little more? It`s about 35", haven't measured it, but it's kinda big :>

i have the model and texture, but i dont know how to use rapidshit.

it's not in any way ready for papercraft, i also have the helicopter w/ turrets. if u can use rapidshit to upload them, i'd be glad to give you them. i also can get you halo models.

Yeah go ahead and upload. i'll see what I can do with em

I try to clean up the model, but there are so much things that make it very dificult, for example itsn't empty, there are points faces and lines inside some parts, another thing is there are so many points and faces useless, for example a flat region its compund of 8 or 12 points instead 4.

When I have more time I will retry.
