How to get started Anonymous
I would like to get into papercraft, it's interesting. I already printed off a simple Nintendo Wii design, and built it painstakingly with really old warhammer 40k superglue. It turned out misshapen, but stable. I am using it as a bank so I can buy a Wii. :D

Anyway, if there is a guide, or if anyone can post help on recommended glue, paper, etc to get started, it would be nice to get into this interesting hobby.

Paper: cardstock 160-200 gsm (110-160 lbs) although you CAN use regular printer paper (80 gsm).
Glue: Elmer's PVA, wood glue work best, pritt sticks tend to fall apart after time
Cutting: hobby knife works better than scissors
Scoring: cut/dent the top layer of cardstock to make crisp folds

just don't apply the glue with your finger.

I'm applying the glue with my finger, what's wrong with that? ;_;

me personally, I have some toothpicks and popsicle sticks. Thats what I apply my glue with. And glue, I use Aleenes tacky glue. I have several models that are over a year old, no marks or wear. My knife is just an x-acto knife with a #11 blade.

Why the hell can't we have a damn sticky? I see these threads everyday.

i use archival quality paper. it's thickness is between regular printer paper and cardstock, so i find it thick and durable but you really don't need to score it.

I haven't seen a sticky on /po/ for a year. I think the mods just let us govern ourselves on this imageboard. The downside to this is there are no stickies.
