'Sup /po/, this is the CP of "Butterfly TH" (google images has the model on the first page).

But I was wondering, why is there no diagrams on /po/ or /rs/, when there are other diagrams, even full books, for other things? Hell, I got alot of books downloaded from /rs/ that I found interested, when other places only got the CP. Example, an angel playing a lute, and a divine dragon (both in books with other models, dur).
TL;DR: Why no diagrams?

If you google "crease pattern," you'll find new origamists are making just the pattern and not instruction. It's easier to pass around, makes origami books much, much smaller, and is a pain in the ass to figure out. But, I guess it gives a good challenge.

http://spinflipper.com/origami/cp/tech3.html - That's a pretty decent tutorial for you.

CPs are not intended as a substitute for full diagrams. They are meant to show how the model is structured, not its folding sequence. It's also easier for designers to steal ideas from a CP than a diagram. And CPs are a useful way of staking a claim to a model without having to go through the bother of diagramming it fully.

There are no diagrams on /po/ or /rs/ because there are no diagrams.

When someone creates a work of origami, the possibly hundreds of steps of diagrams don't magically appear with it.
