Hako and other box types are the simpliest papercraft models to make.
You might want to have a look at www.readymech.com or www.toypaper.co.uk
There are others sites I can't remember the urls off by heart.

I've failed at origami for the past decade so I'm gonna try this instead.
From what I've heard I need:
x-acto knife
scissors
67 lb paper and 28 lb paper?
self-healing mat
something to score
white glue
printer?

Anything which isn't Lexmark because it is crap and the ink cartridges are expensive. Industry standard: Hewlett packard or Epson.
The printer I'm using is Canon.
Inkjet or Laser is really up you.

i have a lexmark printer and i am currently building the sd hi-v gundam model and it prints pretty good, the con is that they make you install spyware along with the drivers

your going to need a ruler made of metal or possibly plastic so you don't cut it up with your knife. For scoring I just use the back fo the blade. Scissors aren't really necessary with the X-acto knife.
For paper just find something about as thick as cardstock. I use 110 lb/ 199g/m and it works fine.
