Being the first day off in a long time, I decided to take a swing at making an Andross model. I'll try and unfold it if anyone thinks it would turn out alright

do a barrel roll and go for it!

you do realize that it's going to come out HUEG as it's in Sketchup, right?

Yeah, I don't intend to print this out at fifteen feet tall.

...hmmm. The forehead seems a little to short, huh?

dont take the little character as a scaling mesurement. if I had compared my Ray model to that it would have been 1:1 scale lol. and pyramid head would have been 15 feet tall. pepakura will always make the template fit on 1 sheet no matter how huge it is in your 3d program

REALLY? damn. i should start using sketchup for making models instead of architechure! lol.

Awesome job! I do suggest stretching out the forehead though.

Please finish this model!

And you do realize that it's just bits and bytes and you can scale it to any real size you want? ;)

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNDRROOOOSSSSSSSSSSS!
(looks good!)

Well, I gave it a try, but it's pretty awful as I've never used Pepakura to actually design anything.

Plopped on top of a Game Boy for some kind of scale.

my first thought was: "wow... looks like he's gonna puke!"
my second thought was: "actually that's all he does, really. So it's perfect!"

Yoji!
Templates please and /or pdo. I pay you 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000#Internets

I know its cool to be old school and what not, but this andross is so boring looking. It would look especailly dumb to someone who has never played it before as well. Why dont you do the 64 version instead. It has more character and is more interesting. roflcopter

I acually like the oldschool andross.....

Right, about the pdo/template. I don't really know how to use Pepakura, so there are a few things I'm not clear on.

Particularly, I'm not sure what's with these red lines. It seems like I can't connect them to each other, no matter what I do.

And you can see that the lines on the forehead aren't showing up. Those can't get divided or connected, either.

I don't have the password for Pepakura, so I can't really save the pdo. I can just copy the development and save it as a flat image, but I'm not sure what /po/ usually demands.

...ah, what the heck. I'll just post what I've got right now. Be warned, though: some flaps might be missing, among other things

The red lines indicate that the polygones aren't connected properly. This is a problem in the 3D model, not in Pepakura. You either fix this in the 3D model, or you can try this in Pepakura: 3DModelWindow > Join Adjacent Isolated Edge, but this doesn't always help. Best option is to fix it in the 3D model anyway.

Not sure why the lines on the forehead don't show up. This may be another problem in the 3D model itself, or maybe the folds aren't so big. There's an option in Pepakura: Configuration > Linetype Configuration > Hide Polygonal Line near the Surface. Maybe if you uncheck that (if it is checked), the lines will show.

In the developed view (right window), you can right-click to get a context menu. It will let you edit and add flaps, if you believe some are mising. I haven't checked that myself, so I don't know, but you testbuilt it, so I'm sure you have discovered any flaws yourself.

Copying+pasting the thing works, doesn't it? So it's good enough for /po/. ;)
