How would that help plenty? In lowering the polycount? Forget about that, instead examine your model, imagine how it will unfold and what parts will turn out too difficult build that. Then re-design those parts so the WILL be easy to build. It does not matter if the "leg cylinders" are made out of 10 triangles, or 5 squares. It's far more important to not think of the model as a hollow shell, and think about things like "do I really need 4 tiny extra parts for a bumpy knee?" ;) The model looks very promising!
