Yo /po/eple!
I got an brilliant idea!
How 'bout we make a website where we collect all papercrafts we ever find on teh intrawebs and upload them there and categorize them and shit? Everyone can upload you just need to be a user etc... Or is it alrdy done?

was attempted to be done but the dude abandoned it

im pretty sure the idea of a papercraft database has been thought up a million times. Nobody takes the initiative to actually start one.

Although it would be nice to have an archive to back up papercrafts that don't have a site of their own (if they do, give credit and just provide a link to the site) many attempts have been made (Plus4Chan, Pepakura Kingdom, and many other non-4Chan related sites) but they have all failed; it requires too much effort for one person, letting everybody upload whatever they want doesn't work (trolls, people uploading the same stuff under different filenames nobody understands so again one person or a few would have to spend 24/7 fixing these annoyances and then people still wouldn't agree with the fixes...)
I can hear you thinking "I would do that!" but everybody says that and then they get bored after a year or so (often much sooner).
If you know of a place with enough storage space and more importantly enough bandwidth, why don't you try it?

Actually I bet I could do it myself, with Apache or something, and just put my own folder in there [though it won't have shitty pile of flying fucks or hakos]. Any lurker could.
Problem is I can't get my built-in Apache server going for some reason, I'm a newbie for that + new to mac.

There's also the issue of artists throwing a hissy fit (rightfully so i guess), like masamune washington

And god, I would KILL for the template in the OP, even though it doesnt exist. even more impressive that the guy did it freehand and used KFC buckets and pudding boxes

There's a Chinese website detailing what the guy was thinking when he decided to make it, but there's no template if that's what you were after.
