Um, ya. I just did it, like, yesterday. But I am turning it into a prop. So after resin, I'll sand, carve, etc., and eventually paint.
But my advice would be, that if your model is already pretty durable (cardstock strong) then find a way to pour the resin around on the inside, then add like the final piece to close the model. Slosh the resin around on the inside. Probably the best way to preserve it and have it remain a "papercraft."
