Papercraft as a .pdf?
>> Jen
Just spray paint it when you're done. Use a spray varnish first, then spray paint over the varnish. That way the varnish coat will protect the paper and glue while you're using spray paint on it. If everything goes right, it shouldn't fall apart. You can try it on an easier papercraft first to make sure it will work for this.

That's basically the same as printing them on shiny cardstock. Only you have to do an extra step of spraypainting your paper...
The thing is you need just the black lines, not the textures: they would print over the shiny stuff (doesn't matter if it's painted paper or shiny metallic cardstock).
You might spraypaint it AFTER you built it (although not all parts need to be metallic so be careful).
Or spend some time in Photoshop to remove the textures so you only have the black lines (some people were going to do this, but again, we haven't heard back from them...) Then you could try metallic cardstock or spraypainted cardstock.
But my best tip: don't bother. Just print it as the scans come, in grey. The thing that ruins it for me is not that it's not metallic, but that it needs a poke up its rear or else it won't even stand up.............

Thanks /po/ ^^

What if we'd just overlay the printed parts with aluminum foil? It would be shiny...

Then you'd have to do a lot of extra work and it would probably turn out all wrinkly. Maybe even cracked, since paper is a little stretchable (very useful for papercraft) but aluminium foil isn't.
But /po/eple: try what you like, then let US know if you want to. Don't ask others to try and let YOU know, lol............
