>I think the term "papercraft" refers to both the realistic models and the cute.

- Some people like cars and guns and disproportionate anime characters (usually female) , and
-Some (like Skelekitty here), like the cute, boxy, chibi models.

>Each to their own tastes.

Quality and complexity of a model is favored by a formula increasing age and intelligence. A downs syndrome 8-year-old will fully enjoy a hako or spiky baby, while a 30-year-old manufacturing engineer will partake of such as the T-800 model or the intricate shuttle launch platform.
Comparatively an 8-year-old already enrolled in a college physics course would more likely enjoy the massive complex models, as a lobotomized paraplegic 30-year-old would more fervor about the simple little shitty models. Adjust the variables (generally downward) to get the span of /po/.

Thanks for the new rommy.

Are you saying that designers of simple models lower the "bar" of papercrafting?

Modelers have to start somewhere, and there should be simple models available for them.

OP here

They're fun to make and they're cute decorations.

Who cares if they don't stretch YOUR papercrafting muscle (read: e-penis)?

chicks dig them!

It's true!

Much better that the exoskeleton of the terminator, or a helicopter!

Yep the chicks dig the simple+cute papercrafts.

The loli manga girlies just scare most of them away.

Yup, that "loli manga girlies" papercraft will make any guy look like a loser - as in:
-unemployed,
-living with your parents,
-30y/o virgin,
-scary-geek!

...cute is win?
>> Anonymous
>>135522
No, but it's not bad either.
>> Anonymous
I do both. Sometimes I simply prefer a minimalistic model since they aren't as time consuming.
>> Anonymous
I actually like building most of the loli manga girlies just for the cuteness factor. obviously if they're bent over with their panties showing no, but if they are cute just to be cute, then I build them.

Except I'm female, have a job, moving out in 3 months with my boyfriend, and not virgin anymore.

But yeah, other than that, perfect description

The complexity of a papercraft is not necessarily directly proportional to the mental capacity of its modeler or assembler.

Some of us just like cute shit.

Wow, you can read!

I tend to make animals, dragons or other models which look interesting such as FF Bahamut, Leviathan. I'm feeling ambitious enough to try pepakura, or ones that require printing out more than 10 pages such as Howl's Moving Castle.
