do you use cardstock?
>> scoring; google = friend Anonymous
Scoring is the the act of creating a line or depression in the paper that will help the paper fold. This is the best way to create a fold in card stock or any somewhat thicker paper.

For example if you want to make a folded card it is best to score the card where it is going to fold and then fold it. If you simply fold it your crease may look very unprofessional or the paper may even crack.

You can score paper using a very dull knife (like a butter knife) and a ruler. However you accomplish the score it needs to be deep enough that the paper will want to fold along that line easily.

k. thanks. but is there any time where you wont score? looking at thei gumba, (i have it all cut out.) the body part doesnt look like it has any score lines. im not to sure if im ust sposed to have it smoth there, or if im sposed to guess where to score.

Basically, the difference is, that WITH scoring the folds, the folds will be very sharp (pointy, edgy, whatever you want to call it).
WITHOUT scoring, the folds will be smooth. So it's up to you what effect you like better. Also, if you ever need to fold very small parts, this can be quite difficult if you use thicker cardstock. Scoring those small parts will make them much easier to fold.
And if you ever make a version without fold lines, it's best to look at the version with lines and score the folds on the unlined version. Otherwise, you won't have anything to "aim" your folds correctly and you'll probably mess up.
Other than that: it's up to you to work out what works best for you. Some like the "edgy" look they get from scoring the folds (I do), others want smooth folds.
