Princess Peach Papercraft? Anonymous
Hey guys,

utter newb here (just started looking at tutorials and such this weekend), so let me know if I'm being a tard. But so far I've made a mario, luigi and a goomba, and I've been looking around for a princess peach papercraft. Anyone know of one?

If you are looking for papercraft templates etc, click on the Rapidshare link in the Upload Boards.

Then change the 'Boards' dropdown to /po - Papercraft & Origiami click the 'Go' button and start hording. If you are interested in making anime/manga girlies download http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ANWGEKGC which has quite a few models to make. You will need to download the Pepakura Viewer to really get the best print outs of some of the templates.

This model is impossible. 3D models need to be edited before they go through pepakura or else they won't work.

This joke wasn't funny when you started, and it's not funny now. Stop wasting space.

You can't fool /po/, you just wanted to troll by posting a provocative question, hoping /po/ would start whining, but you actually got a good, solid answer to your troll attempt. ;)

Nah, not really. How can someone even think of that looking at people not being assholes on 4chan?
And I meant what I said. Maybe you people are different, but I'll never want a half-assed thing related to something i like in my room. That's like buying a kids notebook with prints on it and claiming to have a collection.. well sort of.

Ugh, that one is hard as hell. Don't think you can pull it off with such attitude and being a beginner.

OP here. Thanks for the leads, guys. I have a couple more questions already...

What does the pepakura viewer actually DO? I mean, I get that some models needs to be looked at in it, and I read on another thread that you can take images from an emulator and drop them into it...but is there anyone/anything that can explain to me what it can and can't do? What I should expect from it?

Additionally, are there any tutorials that can teach me how to make my own models?

Many models are in that format; you bring them up in the viewer, and print them out, and assemble them. You can use the viewer to see which panels correspond to which faces of the model, and number all the edges to see which edges join which.

You can feed SOME model data from other programs in there, but if you haven't simplified the model, you'll end up with something with thousands of pieces with hundreds of folds per piece.

If you want to make papercraft, you're going to need other programs to help you along. The viewer is for VIEWING, not magically creating papercrafts.

Good to know. So what are the programs I'd need to get started?

I've found alot of files with .pdo and .lzh extensions. What programs would I need to open/view/edit those?
>> Extremely bored !OWteLghTV.
For the programs you'd need to get started... I can't answer that, sorry. Some folks use Metasequoia, some folks are actually using Google Sketchup... I'm sure folks with models under their belt may share.

.lzh is a compressed format; it can be opened by 7zip or WinAce, among other programs. .pdo files are papercraft files; you can view them in Papercraft Viewer or edit them, if they're not locked, in Papercraft Designer. There may also be a way to unlock them, but once again, I can only share what I know.

Don't ask me for Papercraft Designer. You should be able to turn up an "unlocked" copy with a little detective work.

Get in the habit of googling the file extension to find out the specific programs used to open the extension its faster than /po/, .pdo used by pepakura
