OH MY GOD I AM SO SORRY!

FORGIVE ME I'M SORRY!! I haven't been checking this week. The auction has ended! Dammit!!! I AM SO SORRY /PO/ I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT THIS HAD I KNOWN ABOUT IT
>> GoblinGuy
Christ, I'm really sorry guys. This has just ruined my night. Someone won them, though. If that someone is a /po/ster, please let us know. Again, I am so sorry. I can't believe the one week I didn't check this happens. Life's been really busy, and I shouldn't be making excuses, but this just hits me hard. Really sorry. :(
>> Zel
aww dont beat yerself up, gob. im just glad theres people like you buying/sharing papercrafts.

btw, i totally failed in finding them in Japan. well, ok. I found a pikachu one but i think that was one /po/ already had, and there was another one from the Ghibli museum, but it wasn't very good (its just papercraft of the museum itself).
>> GoblinGuy
I would like to thank the OP for pointing out that some people use the term "????" (figure) to describe papercrafts. This has been added to my list of search terms.

That's alright, man. Work out your IRL problems before you go down in /po/ immortality again. At least we can reverse-engineer that page and get at least the head of Mudkip.

Note to self: Learn how to work out the layout of Yahoo Japan Auctions so I myself can check out the offerings.

We've already re-drawn the head of Mudkip from a previous picture, that's the part that sucks the most.

I feel since I failed here, I'll help you guys out a bit. The Chokipeta models were printed in Dengeki DS magazine, and the Turtwig, Piplup, and Lucario models were printed in Dengeki DS & Wii magazine (same magazine, different name. So here are some search terms.

papercraft = ???????? (pe-pa-kurafuto) - I search with a space between pe-pa and kurafuto because some people say papercraft as two different words. Because it is a translation of an english word to Japanese, it is only used in katakana. You might find some spelled in hiragana, I don't know, I haven't checked since the first time I searched and got no results.

Pokemon = ???? (pokemon) Useful if you combine pokemon and kurafuto. Yields a few results, usually the Jupiter Corp sets.

Dengeki = ([hiragana] ????) Has yielded results once before.
([katakana] ????) Katakana is what alphabet is used in the spelling of the magazine, so this usually has quite a few results.
([kanji] ??) By itself, yields a TON of results, but all of them are usually Dengeki Hobby, Dengeki G's, etc. Has yielded Chokipeta models before, though.

I'll post more in a minute if I feel there's more that needs to be shared.
>> GoblinGuy
Every now and then I'll search for right-field terms, such as "paper kit" (???? ???) and get a few results.

Another thing that works is putting a date after the word Dengeki, like Dengeki 05, so you'll get all Dengeki magazines on the site that were printed in 2005, or at least the ones that say so in the title. This helps, because the list of Dengeki results is usually over 10,000 results.
>> GoblinGuy
Wait a minute. This auction ended on the 5th of October. I didn't see it because it was in a term I never searched by.

OP, how exactly did you find this?
>> Th0ughts !!1Jl/uNq62Zm
Can't read this shit, but is this the same thing? I don't keep up to date with this stuff either. http://page18.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/w30900490

Nah, those were just stickers and tattoos, things like that.

>>192512
Oh, mkay. I'll keep my eyes peeled etc. I may be going to Japan soon, any specific places where I can buy these?
>> Anonymous
Okay guys, I think we need to get organized here. I think at least some of us want to help out in getting these stuff but the worst thing that could happen is that we end up bidding against each other.

We should have an auction thread, either here or maybe /pw/. Anyone who sees an item up for auction should post it and if someone is already bidding on it he should say so and so forth. The system needs to be fleshed out but, you know, just a suggestion.
>> GoblinGuy
>>192515
Used book/magazine stores. Look for Dengeki DS magazines.

>>192519
I can tell you guys from now on when I'm bidding on something, if that will help.

Does anyone else actually bid on these things? There's at least one more person that I know about, but other than that I haven't heard anything.

Here's the re-draw done a while back with another picture. The picture before was MUCH much smaller, so I'd say the guy who did it (sorry, can't remember) came pretty close.

An idea: Bookmark various search result pages and check on those every day or so.

As for other bidders, I'm guessing you're the only one. As far as I know, the rest of us aren't willing to shell out 50+ bucks for the sheets.

At least, I'm not.

i have 3 items coming. i buy car parts but like papercraft so have some intial D and armored core stuff coming in. got arcadia and yamato sitting in my drawer.

i'll buy metal wolf chaos for rarity's sake sometime soon. as well as char and sayla 3d portrait.
>> eosthream
and i also started a thread some weeks ago about everyone chipping in. 15 unique responses yes. 2 no.

i've posted RS links before and had 100 downloads so we can count on potentially lots of donations. but i don't care to participate if only a few people help out and the whole community benefits.

i could buy most of papercraft i want on my own [even those in the hundred dollar range] and already have many many gigabytes on my computer. but if others don't help what's the point.

I always bookmark auctions I find interesting. I usually just search the terms every 2 or 3 days and check the last few pages that have been updated since then.

Wonderful, sir!

Not the actual auctions, but the search result pages, like the results for "Chokipeta". That way you don't have to constantly type, just open up a folder and click it.

I have an auto-complete for search terms I've already done. Doesn't take any time at all, actually. :)
