Stencil kaiza
Sup /po/

I come bearing new content, just stencilerized this.
Anyone else think this should be /craft/ instead? I do a lot of model making but not much actual papercraft...

Original image.

Threshold in PS didn't end up working too well so I just traced the bits to cut out.

dunno if this messes up the stencil,(good work, by the way) but wouldn't an invert in colors conserve more ink?

newfag here...how exactly does one go about making a stencil of an image?

Black on white is how the image came, and I was planning on cutting it into a black cover on my sketchpad, hence original. If you want to print and cut it I recommend opening in PS, inverting and then reducing opacity to somewhere around 30%. It'll be visible enough to cut without wasting ink.

Easiest way is to open Photoshop (PS) and use Image -> Adjust -> Threshold and then find the right setting. Usually I try this but get frustrated with the results. So I printed this out inverted and just traced over the bits I wanted onto thin paper, scanned it for posterity, cut out a copy and then scanned that for the image you see here. The hardest bit is making sure the stencil has enough structure to hold it together - you'll need a bit of practice and artistic license to add this in yourself.

Pic is another stencil I did - first one, took forever to cut into thick polyprop. Had some thin sections which broke too :(

Original from Xmen vs Street Fighter I think.

I wasn't 100% happy with the stencil, but it's hard adding stuff in that wasn't in the original image, and the plastic was really hard to cut in to.
