Dear /po/

I am contemplating making beads out of paper origami stars. What would I need to do to make them more durable? Spray with lacquer? Is there some sort of expandable hardening foam substance that I can inject inside so the stars are less squishy?

When I do this, I dip them in epoxy resin, but don't let them fill, just enough to coat them and harden.

BTW what should I look for in spray can lacquers?

Any tips or favs?

Ooo. I love making those stars. At least until my fingers start hurting badly from pressing in the sides! I need some nice yellow paper. And resin or lacquer

You CAN get spray-on expanding foam, but I think you wouldn't be able to get the nozzle in the star, and if you did, I'd be afraid it'd expand TOO far and leak or distort the star.

You mean the stuff they use in construction? Polyurethane (PUR) foam?
I garantee you, when you spray this inside a paper model, it will expand way more than you expected and it will tear open your paper model. Not a pretty sight and not a good idea...
