>>74820 i am not this person> but yeah i agree metasequoia is a really nice program to use, i had a hard time getting the shapes i wanted in google sketchup, i found i like metasequoia better.. basically you spend the most time in the 3d editor, making only an outside shell of the 3d shape (most game models have limb joints to allow for movement) all you need to make is the basic 3d outside shape save it in any acceptable 3d file type and open it in pepakura designer, i highly recommend either buying the full version, or downloading a keygen, unclick auto unfold, and join-unjoin faces in the 2d side for your self to make the build simpler. a full charachter may be a little ambitious for your first model. ESPECIALLY for not knowing how to use a 3d editor. i recommend playing around with the 3d program, and making different things, for practice, and seeing what pepakura dose with them, theres no other way really to explain how pepakura hanldes certain things but to see it for yourself. i hope this helps a bit, not too long ago i had no clue either, and was asking the same questions.
