Hey /po/, what do you guys use for a printer?
I have a crappy epson that keeps clogging on me, so, I'm looking for a new printer so I can finally get around to making Suisei-seki. Any suggestions for size/color? -Sorry, I'm completely new at this-

I use a crappy Dell printer that I have to order crappy Dell ink off their website for it to work.

It's crappy, but it works well enough.

Go for one with separate colour cartridges - that way if one runs out you don't have to replace them all. I'm currently using an epsom rx560 (5 colours) and a lexmark 708 (3 colours). Epsom gave me more features for the money.
Watch for printers where the paper has to do a u-turn as cardstock can jam in those. If you have the money a printer that takes larger than A4 would be nice.

My printer came with my computer, so I have no clue if it is the best or worst..it seems to work pretty well though. I have a "Canon: PIXMA iP 1600"

yes go w/ ones that have separate color cartridges. I have a hp scanner/printer deal. But if you get one that has a one cartridge deal you can buy something like this and refill yourself.

Also awesome deals on good printers on Craigslist.com

Just be sure you ask all the questions then have the seller demonstrate it works perfect.

What utterly worthless suggestions...

Ink-tank Epson printers clog if you don't use them at least once a week. Dry-lock or some crap.

HP is the ubiquitous printer. However, the exact printer doesn't matter, it's what print cartridge goes in it. And there aren't many: HP23, HP45, HP78, HP15.

HP's are plasticy, cheap, and the ink is overpriced, but they work. That and you only get 1/2 ink tanks with the printer in box. Became really annoying when I was at Oriface Depot and people asked for the "HP45G" and I gave them a HP45 cartridge, and they were like "are you sure that's going to work?" And I'm like hell yeah. And they were insulted that I actually knew more than them and was actually sure it was going to work.

Buy factory refurbished and tested too, you'll save lots of money and save the hassle of returning or repair if you were to have bought BRAND NEW and it did have any defects!

So... Epson sucks, basically, hp is decent, but overpriced; what about Canon and Lexmark?

Yeah, HP would be the way to go if, like me, you almost never use it; the ink is overpriced, but the printer is cheap, so it only starts costing you once you've chewed through a few cartridges. My dirt-cheap HP multifunction didn't have problems moving thick card around a 180 degree bend. Ink costs an arm and a leg (like most printers, really) though.

Not again.
Cardstock doesn't matter what brand

what about a good long lasting printer? Preferably that can handle cardstock?
>> Anonymous
Looking for a suggestion on a good printer that lasts through lots of printing, though doesn't rely on it, and can preferably handle cardstock. Any help appreciated.
