I'm really interested in knowing how the heck you made a Taru without

A) Face problems
B) Clothing going through the rest of the model problems
C) Ears/hair problems
>> Kaizo
Well the face was pretty easy actually. The eyes were the biggest issue, and I got them working in a satisfactory manner.

Clothing, well, just found way to deal with intersection. It wasn't too bad, really. Remove some faces, whatnot.

Hair I most removed. The top of the head went right through the hat, so I just chopped it off in Metasequoia. It didn't turn out perfectly, but it worked well enough. The ears were pretty well connected to the head in the original model.

Well well, my hats off to you, sir. I couldn't ever get it right.

Well he is technically an NPC with custom gear, so it's kind of designed better than regular player characters wearing whatever nonsense they want.
All the same, I appreciate the hat-offing, but you should take a look at the madness I call instructions before praising me. It's one thing to force the model to work in construction. It's another to make the design smooth enough for other people to follow.

Yeah, which is why I gave up making FFXI models using models from the game. They're too complex for my patience nowadays.

How do you convert 3DXML files to a format that is supportable with 3D Max? In return I will post some sweet papercrafts in the future.

Well Ark Angel TT's my FFXI hero, so it was easier to muster up the patience...that and taking about a month to do it.

By the way, you did Howl's Moving Castle, right? What kind of paper did you use? I know that fellow who made the time lapse video used regular 20lb, and I'm thinking 110lb may be too thick, but I'd like to build it eventually.

Many thanks, sir, and very nice job

I've built about 60% of it, been using 110lb. Works fine for as much as I've done.
