The new features are really great. To list a few:
You can reload a 3D model, in case you need to make changes to it. For instance, if you have unfolded EVERYTHING but the tail of a dragon, and you notice, "oh no, the tail is wrong! now I'm going to have to do that all over again!". Not anymore. You can fix the problem in a 3D modeling program, and select "reload 3D model" and it will keep the already unfolded parts, and create new ones for the parts you changed in the 3D model.
You can seperate the parts, much like you do in 3D modeling programs, so you can see each part better and the way it should be made.
You can hide selections of the 3D model to see hard-to-see places when unfolding or building.
You can select multiple flaps for editing by dragging a rectangular selection over them.
Used to, when you wanted to figure out "Which part goes where" you either checked a corresponding face, or did join/disjoin face and checked from there. Now there's an option where you can see which side glues where. It's hard to explain, so I'll just include the picture.
There are a few more features, so make sure to read up on it.
