I know /po/ is not /r/, and in fact I have never posted here before, but I figured this would be where I could get help.

I'm looking for some papercraft for a DDR machine. If somebody has one, I wouldn't be surprised, but if not, I won't kill myself over it either. Picture related.

Thanks. :3

I think a 3D model of it exists.

Whether it exists on the internets or not, I don't know, I just seem to remember someone posting a picture.

/po/ is the slowest board on 4chan. Barely even 3 pages worth of posts get posted a day. No need to worry about this going away soon. (threads usually get deleted when they become old, or about 4 days)

Interestingly, that wasn't even me (OP).

It's not a super complex model, I'd say it would be a good one to try and build yourself. We'll help you. first, get sketchup, pepakura designer and an app that can print to PDF (i use snagit, it has many save as functions besides PDF)

I've never done a papercraft, but I actually did already start it myself. I have been drawing on paper and getting lines down in Illustrator. It isn't really complex at all, and yet I still simplified it some. I was just wondering if somebody already created a nice and detailed one with correct proportions etc., but something I make myself will suffice for what I'm using it for.

Sir, I must say, that the only reason why I wanted to Buy PS2 was to be able to play more songs than just the ones that I had with DDR Extra Mix, 3, 4, 5, the other one whose name don't remmember and even the Disney one (fuck! I was desperated to get more songs...)
that was when I discovered Stepmania...
anyway, the important part: I'll start modeling it in SketchUp, right now
BUT be warned, the olny thing I have ever modeled was a triforce, and do not know yet how to paint it... anyway I'll do my best
see you when it's finished!!!
(thanks for the idea!!!)

Even better news... I already found one on 3D warehouse, wait a little, I'll unfold it and give you the .pdo file

waiting ^^^

/po/ is a slow board. Six hours is usually nowhere near enough to unfold, realize it's too complex for Pepakura, simplify, reunfold, repeat, repeat...

Give the person some time. Try again tomorrow.

thing is with models made by others, you don't know what they were thinking when they made it. If you build it with papercrafting it in mind, you build it different then when you just want to recreate a real life model. I agree it is nice to find models and downloading them. but the chances are good that you'll end up spending more time fixing the existing model than you would be building it your self.

^ thank you, I didn't realize how hard it is (not sarcasm) I'll check again tomorrow, till then...companion cube :3
>> Xydirus
Sorry to keep you waiting, I posted before going to school, and I've been there since then... anyway, I've been working on it, the problem is that the model I found had "overlayed" (don't know if it's spellt like that) parts, and some other where "glass" type... so, as you may already have guessed, you cant print glass over white paper... wait a little, it's comming up fine...

sweeet, i'll check back tonight around 10 or tomorrow :D
>> Xydirus
The DDR machine is still on progress, the problem is that the asshole that made it (hahaha, how thankful of me...) did some terribly bad work, and I've been correcting a lot of things (overlayed things, painted inside faces, some wont be painted doesn't matter what i do) anyway, I hope that the model is well enough to be undloded by now (and it have to, because I already have been unfolding like 4 hours...) so, work in progress, I can't waranty that it'll be ready today (in fact, most likely it'll be tomorrow) but when it's finished, and it's perfectly buildable I'll upload it here

bump so I dont have to browse through too many pages later..
