Help /po/can i get paper for these nifty stars at any typical american arts & crafts store, or are they not so common?and are they fairly simple to make?

Any long strip of paper will do, wrapping paper is sometimes best.
i once did some of them with a news paper... it became humongous stars

i love making these with straws. they get really sturdy compared to precut origami paper.
I love these! It was first shown to me with a paper straw wrapper. You tie one end in a knot, and make sure it's all nice and even and flat. Then you just start wrapping.
i have a whole jar of them in a vase on my deskhead over to any chinese general store and they usually have the papers to make them. They cost me about 50 cents at the one around here, and came with about 50 or so strips
