Someone on Card Models Forum started painting over finished Papercrafts with acrylics color to bring out the bright contrast hues that lack from printing. Finish with a spray sealer.

Would be a great idea for bringing out the true color and texture.

these are not rasterizing, just printing the image across lots of sheets of paper

How many loads of Elephant Cum do you need to hold the flaps together for something that big?

In order to get the high of quality(not blurry at all) the image was first rasterized then scaled up.

Dear /po/.

I just rasterbated this picture into a 12-sheet miracle of paper and printer ink. I think I am in heaven.

Also, thanks for killing my printer multiple times.

Sorry for shitty webcam pic. I will be able to take slightly higher quality photos when I can recharge my batteries.

I'm already addicted to rasterbation.

How many sheets is yours, and what did you use to glue it together? I used glue, which made mine kind of heavy... not sure if the scotch tape I used to affix it to the wall will hold it up indefinitely.

I would consider looking for some duct tape, but I think that would make it impossible to remove from the wall without damage D:

Also, can't wait for the bigger pics. Looks awesome!

18 sheets, all held up and together with blu-tack.

I only cut away the top and left margins of each sheet, so parts are overlapping and stuck like that. I'll invert that next time round. The corners of each sheet (plus some of the middle edges) are blu-tacked to the wall/paper behind it. The quality of sticking is better at the bottom than the top. This was... a leaning experience.

Turning this into a poster :D
>> Anonymous
>>45153
Ah, so you didn't affix all the pages together into one big poster. That actually makes a lot more sense, and a lot easier to transport. Which is nice, considering how much ink these use up, and how close the semester is to ending.

lol.

Poster7 would be better than Rasterbator for large scale picture quality posters
>> Anonymous
Dang I wanna rasterbate, but exactly how much ink is gonna be used up for something big like all that? $30 ink cartridges = fail.
>> Anonymous
     File :-(, x)
I did a couple fairly massive posters a little while ago. I wasted so much printer ink and tape, though: 78 sheets of paper, 8 rolls of tape, 1.5 ink cartridges. I decided to back mine with some big craft paper (the kind that comes on rolls and is usually used by elementry school teachers to cover bulletin boards) so they'd be a bit more durable, though they're both pretty heavy for posters because of it.

what quality/ DPI resolution did you use in Rasterbator? those look pretty sharp

Um, whatever the best quality the web version will allow, is it 7mm dots? I don't quite remember. I'm on a mac so I'm forced to use the flash app.

you have fucking zero on your cintiq?! lol...

(no i dont mean that its bad... but is that a desktop background or did you just put it there for show for us :P )
>> Anonymous
>>45286

PS: :D will you post that image so I can have him on my cintiq? (asuming its a high res image)
>> Anonymous
     File :-(, x)
>>45286

I had that up as my background at the time, before I did the poster actually (I was having a hard time deciding what to use for the poster and decided on that one since I liked it and had been staring at it for a few weeks as my computer background and hadn't gotten annoyed at it so I figured it'd be a good choice). And yay for someone recognizing the Cintiq! I've posted that picture on /a/ before in the "show us your room" threads and no one ever knows what the hell it is (well that and no one ever believes that I'm a girl...)

Here's the image in question, it's a composite of a vector of the image someone else did and the Newtype cover it came off (I wasn't super happy with the person in question's vector work, but wasn't in the mood to do it myself so I made some adjustment by substituting in pieces of the original scan where she'd dropped too much detail/added a giant ass watermark)

Yes, after hours of printing, cutting, gluing, scrambling up a wall to put the picture up, my rasterbation is complete!

Mmmm now I have some sexy gundam pilots on my wall. :D Picture is to show size. Though for some reason, if you notice at the bottom of the poster, the rasterbator didn't have it all link up properly... I cut things exactly on the line so I know it wasn't from cutting too much/too little. Odd....

Nice, what parameters did you use to print it?
>> Anonymous
>>45312

I dled the rasterbator and used 3mm dots on a 7x4 page poster size. The image was only 640x467px.

Hope that helps <3
>> Anonymous
>>45314

Continuing this thought, at first I tried a 1mm dot size, but I found that it left the image looking VERY pixelized. Though the image was sharper and didn't have the dots, it just looked like a blown up image to the point you could see pixels.

I would not recommend using 1mm if you have a big image. It just doesn't look that well.
>> Chapsy !jZDoah5ZaQ
>>45315
if I remember right, I used 5mm dots for mine.
Is there a way to adjust the contrast of the image in Rasterbator? I don't have photoshop yet...and as you can see my Nanoha turned out kind of "bright"
>> Anonymous
>>45316

Hm, there is a free program you can get called... erf I don't remember. But it was similar to Photoshop and freeware.

Other than that, I don't know how to change the contrast. I used Photoshop
