Hey /po/

This papercraft thing takes ages. And at the moment mine doesn't even look good. So far as I can tell, it's just making models of what you like out of paper. So... why do you get a kick out of doing this stuff? What got you into it? And what do you do with all your models after you've finished them?

(Also, why do I suck so much at boxes?)

Do you really need people to explain to you the concept of building things for the sake of building? Why do people build model kits?

As far as you sucking, try using proper materials and not being retarded. Works for me.

I personally like making things that can either be used or are cute. Like, I just made a shrimp papercraft hat for my Deep Sea Bio professor. Also, cutting things and fitting them together is quite relaxing after a stressful day. Finally, I like the fact that papercraft is free (or relatively cheap) compared to vinyl figures, which you don't share as much of a connection with.

I agree with you. Vinyl figurines has a sickly plastic smell and cost a lot. If you are interested in making box type models (hako) have look at readymech or some of the other site and using heavy weighted paper such as 160gsm and beyond. Anything less has less support and warp.
