Oh my.
I know I told you earlier you were awesome, PK.
I don't even think I have a word for you anymore.
Awesome on steroids?

Now I'm off to bed!

Thank you - excellent model.

Would you care to take on this new project now that bob-omb has been completed, please?
>> GoblinGuy
>>138703
Same here. I got distracted so the only parts I got done were the left foot, the fuse, the wind-up, and half of the right foot. I'll finish it tomorrow.
>> Anonymous
i like it A+
>> GoblinGuy
You owe me a new bottle of soap

because that's what it's gonna take to get all of this black ink off my fingers.
>> Anonymous
>>138711
Yes, /po/ has needed a toad papercraft for some time.
>> Pixel-kakashi !!m4QWeHOOFBy
>>138711
Ill give it a try, but I don't promise anything.
>> Anonymous
well then you can say you did try
>> Anonymous
>>138884
you don't have to make it if you don't want to. i've found, when papercrafting, if your heart isn't in it, then your model won't be as good as it could be.
>> Pixel-Kakashi !!m4QWeHOOFBy
>>138901
I know, but I want a Toad papercraft too.
>> Anonymous
do or do not ther is no try
>> Anonymous
>>138902
good, then we have nothing to worry about. I wish you good luck, and would like to remind you, that with a few texture changes, toad can easily become toadette (i think thats her name). You may have already thought of that, though. ;)
>> GoblinGuy
Let me say one thing: I hate making spheres. Because at the end, you always have the one side that's hardest to close up because you can't reach anywhere. So I was very frustrated with trying to close it because it never stayed shut. Once it shut, I thought all my troubles were over. I was wrong.

So I cut open a slit so the wind-up could go in, and shucky howdy doody, wrong place. So I cut open a second slit, and shucky howdy doody, too low. So I left it like it is.

THEN there was the matter of gluing the thing to the feet. I did that about twenty times, each time the feet falling off before I could get it to the display.

So there it is. It will NEVER be picked up again, because the feet will most likely fall off. Also I replaced my black ink cartridge before printing out the bomb part, and now I have half left. It sapped my black ink.

You know, with all these negative things to say, you'd think I'd hate the model. But I like it, it looks very nice. I just wouldn't start out building this. It's also one of those models where you say "PHEW!" when you finally get it done. Good job, PK.

Woops, forgot pic.
>> harpnbass
>>138908
You should try this glue:
Scotch brand Quick dry adhesive byt 3M - sets in 15 seconds but is NOT super glue. I've searched high and low for a quicker drying white glue and this is it.
>> Anonymous
>>138916
I use Tacky glue it sets in about 15 seconds and is a white glue and when it dries up completly its becomes brick hard.
>> Pixel-Kakashi !!m4QWeHOOFBy
>>138910
Cool!

Was it really that hard?

I haven't build it yet, 'cause I originally made it for the friend of a friend who asked me for one, I'll let you know how I did.
>> GoblinGuy
>>138916
>>138919
Next time I'm at the craft store, I'll look for an alternative glue.
>> Anonymous
now this isn't a perfect solution, but I find that when you're doing that last part that closes the model, and you can't get to it, you can stick a paperclip in through a crack and use that to push it into place
>> Skelekitty
     File :-(, x)
Jesus! This is the biggest freaking bob-omb! It's like that King Bob-omb from Mario 63! minus the mo!

>>138884
I'm almost finished building Bob-omb, and I love it :)

I was thinking, if you could find the time to build us a:
- Toadie,
- Lakitu,
- a Piranha-Plant,
- a Pokey and
- a Chain-chomp (my favorite =D),
then I think we'd have have the complete Mario collection in decent, non-hako models.

Mario - check
Luigi - check
Peach - check
Bowser - check
Shy Guy - check
Boo - check ... but needs some work
Bob-omb - check
Yoshi - check
Koopa Troopa - check
1-up & Power-up mushies - check
Star (Luma) - check

You'd be forever revered as a /po/ god!

Dumb question: what do you use to open .pdo files? I assumed it was something like adobe reader but alas, I was wrong
>> Anonymous
any that can make a mega pack of all the models and put them up
>> Anonymous
it's a pity they're not all the same relative size ... maybe we need a BIGGER boo, shyguy and goomba so that they match the recent editions to our Mario collection.

Make it so, number one (any designer willing)

>>139146
I'm going to add a crown and a mo to make Pixel-Kakashi 's mega Bob-omb into KING BOB-OMB!

I've finished my bob-omb (awesome model BTW). But when I thought I had "finished" I suddenly realized that I didn't attached it's key.

Um ... this is gonna sound really stupid, but how was I supposed to attach it? O.o*

Cut a slit open in the back.
>> Anonymous
>>139494
Thanks for the SENSIBLE answer, GoblinGuy!
Yeah, I thought about that, but there has to be a better, non-invasive way of attachment.
>> Anonymous
>>139451
Pirahna plant would be cool! You could put it in that green papercraft Mario pipe that we have.
>> GoblinGuy
>>139579
Actually it's still cutting open a slit. You cut it open where the glue tabs in the back are, so it still looks like it's attached without a hole there.
>> Skelekitty
>>139584
Thanks. I don't think I can do that now - the body's completely sealed up. I'll remember to do that the next time, if I ever attempt to make another Bob-omb
>> GoblinGuy
>>139591
No no, you can still do it. That's what I did. Cut it open after it was already sealed.
>> Anonymous
>>139451

Lakitu is one we already have.
but the only thing i don't like about him as a model is that there's no cloud for him, just HIM
though, i've heard people saying to use cotton balls and that's a great idea it'd be cool if someone could
customize us up a cloud for him to sit on...
>> Pixel-Kakashi !!m4QWeHOOFBy
>>139612
Then count me out for this one, I suck at making 3D clouds.
>> Skelekitty
>>139608
Ok, I'll give it ago - how did you attach the shaft of the key to the insides of it's back without killing the shape?

>>139612
Honestly, the Lakitu model that we have is pretty lame :(

Can I see a photo, please?
>> GoblinGuy

>>139892
I stood there, perfectly still. I focused before hand. I took fast-taking and slow-taking pictures.

But I can't for the life of me take a crisp picture. So I fail at cameras. Also this key.

I put mine in too low, so put yours one space higher than the one in the picture. Also the feet didn't fall off, so there's a half-victory for me.
>> Skelekitty
>>139920
Thank you :D
>> Anonymous
>>139920
try putting the camera down on something like a stack of books, aiming it at the whatever, and press the button...
>> GoblinGuy
>>139928
Tried that too, still comes out blurry. Like I said, I fail at cameras.

On the other hand, every single outdoors shot I take turns out perfectly clear. Maybe it has something to do with the camera.
>> Anonymous
>>139969
Probably just lighting, actually. The stronger the light, the faster the shutter speed, the less chance for it to record any movement- and outdoors is of course much brighter than in.

Setting it on something should have helped stabilize it, but maybe you wiggled the camera when you pressed the button or something. If you have a self-timer feature, try using that next time. Then you can set the camera down, press the button, and walk away, giving it a chance to settle before it it actually takes the picture. As long as both the camera and subject are perfectly stationery, it should come out clear no matter how long it has to expose.

As is it's still not a terrible photo. :P There has been much worse; /po/ is notoriously camera inept.
>> GoblinGuy
     File :-(, x)
>>140052
I guess I just have Parkinson's disease. The timer bit worked. Still getting a little grain, and I would need a tripod to truly not fuck up anything, but I guess this is more of a discussion for /p/ than /po/.
