paper sizes Anonymous
hey /po/ I've just started papercraft a week ago and there is something bugging me. When I go to print some templates, I realize that many pdf's are made for the A4 standard paper (8.3 x 11.7 in) but in north america we have something else which is 8.5 x 11.0 in

How do I print correctly without losing some parts? Is it ok to scale down?

As long as all the pages are scaled down the same amount, it should be fine. For example, my printer will only print A4 sized pages on 8 1/2x11 pieces of paper when scaled down to 95% or so. And for me, at 95% normal size, the papercraft works just like it would at 100%.

On that note, anybody know a good online store (or brick-and-mortar store) to get A4 sized paper (preferably card stock) here in the US?

I always get mine at wal-mart
150 sheets of some really nice 110lb cardstock for 5 bucks.

It is not America who is different from the rest of the world.

It is the rest of the world who is different from America.

Now I will lay back, light me up a cigarette, put my ten-gallon hat and shades on, unbutton my shirt and cross my arms while I stare at a true blue sky. And for that moment only, I will be the coolest man on the face of the earth.

Exactly.
English as in "THE COUNTRY OF ENGLAND"
English as in "NOT FRIGGIN AMERICAN"
THERE'S A DIFFERENCE!
Besides, does it REALLY matter, just so long as you can remotely understand the person's writing?

I take it you've not read 'Language of a Time Traveller' by Sprague de Camp?

You'll also be in the finals for Man With Shittiest Logic on the Face of the Earth. If any two things are different from one another. Then they are both different from one another.

OMG!! There is no official language called "American"!!!

There is! But it is also known as gibberish and being retarded, that's why reasonably intelligent americunts do not dare to use it.

lol at stupid people arguing about stupid things
yet i can not resist joining in
personally i think metric is a lot smarter than whats going we have here
but the reason why america uses the imperial system and not metric is because if they try to replace everything with metric
all the infrastructure
everything that runs the country
it would cost an ENORMOUS amount of time, money, and man power
and it really wont be worth it
so think for longer about that before you go on your stupid little rants
because people in england are just as retarded as americans, if not more

You mean people in the rest of the world? Yeah, I totally agree. I mean, converting measures in base ten is way harder than converting measures in fucking elbow foot scientist name.

Why can't I go to any forum anywhere without having to read about how much everyone hates America? I don't go around bashing other countries for their cultural differences; what did we do wrong?

Now that you've all disgressed from the FUCKING TOPIC, newfags:

You should be able to print fine. Try converting the PDFs into PNGs with photoshop, if anything. Then scale it on paint. You get the best scale results in paint.

Papercraft or GTFO
