>>102023People don't have time or just don't want to make, from scratch, a 3d model of some random character from an average TV show, just so three people can download and try to make the damn thing. Many designers (often talking pre/not-/po/ unfortunately) actually make something THEY like, and then if somebody else wants to download it (c'mon dude... this is the interwebs... LOADS of people like LOADS of stuff others laugh at them for and LOADS of /po/eple just download ANY papercraft they can find; it WILL get downloaded) that's great. If not then the designer might be sad but then looks at his creation and smiles again. ;)
In fact it would be better if people DON'T care about if others might want it: if you make it for yourself, you will spend the time that is needed to make it as good as you can.
Some designs from /po/ seem to be made in a very big hurry, to beat others to it or something, but that shouldn't matter if you're making it because you like it yourself.
But unfortunately, sometimes I get the feeling that it's just to make something of a game that has a large fanboy community just to get a lot of downloads or to become "famous" (you know, for 15 minutes). ;)
