Companion cube! papercraft nub !!Nq/p2zWEghV
Greetings /po/,

/b/tard here. Thisi s my first time on your humble board, but i stumbled across a companion cube papercraft layout last night, and i really want to make it. I've never done anything of the sort before, but my love of portal supersedes anything else in life, as it should.

I'm not entirely sure what the things are on the right here, and how they fit in. I'm pretty sure they're to make the raised sections around the corners look better, but I'm not sure. I figure someone here must have done this, so anyone care to help me out? Is that where they belong, on the corners? I'm unsure about the square things, too.

Thanks in advance /po/

Some things you need to know before any advice is given.

1) /po/ is the slowest board on 4chan, we have threads that go back to 2 months currently on the board (though that's mostly due to daily bumping, most threads only last a week or two).

2) the template you posted (except with credits) was already posted in another thread, with a completed picture in the thread as well. you could have asked there instead of making a new thread. However, I don't shit myself over threads like these like some other anons do, so it doesn't affect me.

3) this papercraft is hard for beginners. if you want an easier companion cube that's more realistic, try this one. (attached) I don't know if you're a beginner to the whole thing or just new to this board, but personally I think this version is easier.

There are several different wcc papercrafts out there, all with finished pictures. There are no real instructions, so you have to think for yourself how the parts should be folded and glued on. It isn't very hard.
But you chose a version which has a problem: a straight glueing flap cannot be curved like it needs to be. Either fix this while building, or choose another version:

Thanks a ton. I should've checked for an existing thread before i posted, kind of rude of me. Sorry for that.

I am completely new to papercraft, and that image that i attached was something i stumbled upon while googling for companion cube wallpapers last night, I found it with no credit attached (makes me look like an even bigger dick). I'll take a look at the one you posted, and see if i can handle it.

Thanks again!

nah, it's cool. you might just wanna take on some easier projects for practice before taking on something you love like companion cube. because i did the first thing i ever wanted in papercraft first, failed at it, haven't gone back to it.

google "hako papercraft" for some box people that are easy for beginners.

I'm hopping on that right now, i've got the day off and this'll be a great way to spend some time. As per your advice, i'm gonna hold off on the companion cube until i actually know what the hell i'm doing.

A blue superior version, if you like the cube but don't like the pink heart.
