Howl's Moving Castle : Book Version Joel
Hey /po/,
I just found a site that has scans of the official Howl's Moving Castle papercraft, as opposed to the free one that gets posted about lots and is generally not as good as it doesn't have rotating-turret-fun-times-yay etc etc.

http://www.lifeinbook.com/2007/10/28/howls-moving-castle-papercraft.html

Has anyone tried building this one yet using this PDF? Does it include all of the pages? I would buy the actual book but it's out of print and it was never released in the UK so eBay isn't an option.

Love you /po/ ...

Oh good lord ... I forgot about /rs/. Cheers muchos for the link; I think I'll download a few and check to see if one has more pages than another. Thankies!

I'll take pictures of my progress a little bit later. The thing is a beast, I tell ya what.

QUESTION: how many pages does this has? (i downloaded a single file that has 70pages, is this correct or im lacking in pages?)

Totally awsome!

OP here. I've looked at the one that has 2 parts and the one that is a single file on /rs/ and they both seem to be the same ... all 70 pages. It's just a shame that they're organised in a spacky way which'll make it really annoying for double-sided printing.

While I'm on the subject ... does this need to be printed double-sided?

only a few things have both sides. The inside of canons (dark anyway) and the nose. I used a sharpie on the nose, but it soaked through (not a big problem) Nothing really needs 2 sides.

Here's the progress I've made. I haven't been making just this, it's been an off and on thing, with more off than on.

There are a few things that I would like to build again, but the main thing is the nose. Protip: shaded in circles means CUT THEM OUT.

Great papercrafting, bad camera work. :-P

Yeah, I didn't buy a camera to be great at it though. I just take a few pictures, if you can see 'em, hey, that's good enough.

Oh that's too awesome ... I'll definitely be building me one when my new batch of card arrives (thanks eBay).

Just to save me opening a new thread, has anyone got any other good Studio Ghibli papercrafts? I've built JiJi from Kiki's Delivery Service and have seen a Kiki along with some Totoro ones, but none seem to be anywhere near as epic as the moving castle. Is this as good as it gets?

What kind of paper are you using to make the castle? Is it card stock or a high quality paper?
