export to .3ds

Also don't forget you have to choose the textures again in Pepakura from 3DModelWindow -> Texture Configuration...

obj works, but read this before you do something stupid and eff up your model.

WARNING: WALL OF TEXT!!!
Before you export the model, make sure that the model is divided into object sets based on texture; all the parts that use texture A should be in one object group, parts that use texture B in another object group, bla bla Bel-Air bla bla, etc.

When you export a model in OBJ format, two different files are made: one is the OBJ file, and the other is a .MTL file, which has all the material info, UVs, etc.

DO NOT DELETE OR MOVE THE .MTL FILE!

Also, be sure that the texture images are either .BMP, .JPG, or .JPEG format, as these are the only types of images Pepakura will recognize.

Then, once you open the model in pepakura, go to "3DModelWindow > Texture Configuration" ; select an object group, click the "Specify Texture Image" button, and then select the appropriate texture image. If the texture doesn't appear on the model, go to "3DModelWindow > Change Coordinates > Flip Faces"; the textures should show up on the model.
