Legend of Dragoon Papercraft Heero Craft
how out of luck i finally got a working Emulator and ROM of LoD and while playing ti with my computers graphics card, it made me think that most of these characters would make great papercraft.

so does anyone have some papercraft of them or could someone tell me how to rip them so i can make them and post them here?

>> Heero Craft
i have the ISOs actually, now that i look in the folders and i randomly found them while looking for a PSX emulator. i'm using ePSXe and the game wasn't too far from it, but it's a torrent.

I have the iso, but no emulator, use my psp. It's a legendary game. Anyone know of a way to rip models from a psx game?
>> Anonymous
Bump, cause i will make them if someone teaches me to rip it. i have a full edition of Pepakura designer.

If possible could you send everything over to my gmail account: errantgamer@gmail.com

My gf is a true b-tard as well as me, and Legend of Dragoon is awesome (even I admit it now). I think I might be able to take a crack at it.

I'd recommend PowerIso (since it can open their special .daa files as well as any other iso or bin files) This free program allows for easy extraction and a detailed looked at the files within.

From there it would be finding the graphic programs. I know the ff7 model viewer was on the net somewhere, and since this is a playstation game as well, it is likely the models can be ripped and then transferred to Pep.

Also...I think that's how Sane did it. Their was a lot more on getting into ff7 then most other games at the time. :)
>> Heero Craft
i could do that for you.>>68194go here for the FF viewer, i saw it in the list.

the only difficulty i see is that i'm on dail-up for the next 3 weeks (returning to college with a T3 afterwards) so sending you every disc will be a challenge so i'll send you the first ISO and we'll go from there.

>>68223

i have a problem... Yahoomail only allows up to 10MB of information and the file is 462MB. and with this connection it would take a day to upload to rapidshare or sendspace.

>>68233

Alright forget it. I got the .rar of the game through a site. Since I own it irl I'm not breaking any laws or anything either.

(50 meg chucks with breaks on the end, right)

Okay. I just need the emulator (might get that myself to) Got the goods mostly, just need to finish the dl.
>> Anonymous
Very nice, I'll have to download Lightwave myself, just so I can mess around with that extractor program.
>> Heero Craft
i'm using the ePSXe(Enhanced PSX Emulator) it requires plugins but does a pretty good job of playng the game.

only problem i'm running into is opening them damn .bins with PowerISO, saying it's not possible and crap
>> Anonymous
i have the actual game >_> any way i can just directly rip it from there?
>> Anonymous
>>68354
Yeah. Just rip it. Google is your friend.
>> age
Power Iso failing this? Iso Buster failing? I know MagicIso is a good one and can convert to .iso as well. Maybe you ca open it then. I'm still downloading the game from the servers.

I'll have more detailed info tonight. I have got all the software I need at hand.

i had PowerISO rip the DRGN0.Bin out and i scanned it TimViewer and found the different character skins. still looking for the models...
>> age
I am on the same track as you, but I needed to clear some crap off my hard drive to get this far.

So far I got a bunch of tools lined up. Extracting all the isos, bins and other crap held within. Yes. Three major files:

Drgn0
Drgn1
Drgn21

All held on the first disk was my starting point. Its extracting now.
>> Heero Craft
>>68400
Drgn0 contains character skins and special effects, some maps

Drgn1 is unknown since it had no images when TimVeiwer went thru it

Drgn21 contains a crap load of maps and areas

other than that feel free to look, i'm not entirely sure what i'm doing myself >.>
>> age
my comp extractors aren't working now that i got so mnay files open. Though yes, the character models and as well as all files are hidden within those 3 drgn files. All the TIMs are there, but its up to you guys I think now. I got about 40 programs to uninstall.

Drgn1 is where I THINK all the model frames are being held, but I don't have a viewer for that. The ff7 one doesn't work on it. Not the ilz file.
>> Heero Craft
>>68407
what did you use to extract the files from the .bin?
>> age
I used the TIM file first, then extracted them to a seperate folder and got the rest from Magic Iso.

Though I used various programs along the way to go deeper. Found all the files for magic effects, the stadust, the movies are fun and extractable as well.

I got REAL deep. Though I don't know how to view it.

you did well and i thank you for the help, i'll do what i can for now, but does anyone know how to get in contact with Sane Person? he might have some more advice that could be useful
>> Heero Craft
>>68411

found an e-mail address inside a read me in his Sephy papercraft, i'm sending him an e-mail and we'll see how far that gets us, Magic iso is currently downloading so i'll work it it soon...
>> age
the only way we're gonna get farther is if we get a programmer able to extract the wireframe I think.

I'm currently looking into the matter right now. Though until then you can substitute that for using 3-d done images in game and use the TIM file to substitute I think.

I've got Dart, Kong, some of the Hellena Guards, I seen a Faust somewhere deep inside. Doors and other things (in the first set, not the other one with the maps).

Though it seems as if you can overlay them still in an editer. Use Maya or some other 3-d program to reconstruct a wireframe or something. Its pretty tough, will take me awhile. We got the skins so far though.

(Btw..maya = freaking desperate mode, since it would be reconstructing the character models from scratch)

---------

Also ya. Magic Iso is good. Should I post the links for ALL the tools I have at my disposal?
>> Heero Craft
>>68413

do what you think helps /b/rother, i'm willing to make all the models and post them with any help.

most of the techincal stuff is still over my head but i'm trying. i have Rhino 3D but Pepakua doesn't accept the models from it...

i couldn't get Magic Iso to convert the .bin's to .iso's, it didn't have the Tool selection like it said

In the list the TMD (model viewer) can extract them, but I do not know how to use it well enough to splice them together. That's my best hint. :/

Hey ho!

Just wanted to say something to the topic of coding a proggy that extracts 3d data. I do have some expirience and it is not easy. I'm working on a FF9 model extractor, but nothing really useable came out of it.
First u need to find out how the 3d data works by analysing it (open up a hex editor and search for datastructur similarities).
Then code a proggy that interprets the stuff u found out and renders this in a realtimewindow or converts to useable 3ddata format.
I coded something for FF9 but it is really buggy and only throws out "vertex balls" that aren't useable at all.
I'll finish it someday but I'm busy developing papercraft.

He said he is working on a model viewer for ff9.

Also...it is unfinished.

>>68433

It's been awhile since I've heard anyone talk about using a hex editor to find things to rip out of videogames. It was a readme file that came with a program, I forget what exactly it was for, but the creator wasn't a very good teacher.

>>68420

Thanks for the huge list. I'm sure I'll end up learning a lot from it.
>> Heero Craft
>>68673
i've been downloading so many programs i think i got a virus from it... nothing working so far i've got pretty deep and say most of what age did but other than that nothing is coming up.

as for a hex editor, not sure what i'm suppose to be looking for. i'm off tomarrow so i'll see what i can do then, sorry /po/ i suppose someone with a little more computer skill should have started this off.

i sent an e-mail to Sane Person but still no reply. more tonight or later tomarrow
>> Anonymous
I deleted something while I was cleaning and caused a systray error lawl. I think I fixed it. Though I assure you no viruses came from the stuff i showed you.

Did you get a hex editored from a hacking site or something, that MIGHT be a problem. Just check with pandascan. That usually works.
>> Heero Craft
>>68896

i think thats what happened, where would be a good place to get a hex editor or the name of a good one?

Alright, I need help now.

TMD2LWO - http://www.zophar.net/utilities/download/tmd2lwo.zip

This can extract the model frame, I need the skin and the model frame to be together, but the next step....how do I put this into papercraft? Heero any ideas?
