its a test build, as in not the final projekt. its gonna be a gundam buster helmet. and since i got the template from a papercraft, and its made from cardboard, /po/ should be the right place. crappy camera... the real hring looks better

well, u should have said what it was, doesnt look too terrible for a test build. im sure cleaning it up and adding textures should make it nicer.

You have a point; I'll cut back on the stupidity.
/po/ already has enough with the /b/-tards invading every other day.

WHY THE FUCK ARE ALL THE /B/ASTARDS WHO WERE TROLLING US BECOMING /PO/EPLE?
GO BACK TO /B/
>> metroidprimegmr !!twLwd+JZiim

The fact that you're insinuating I'm a former /b/tard is insulting. I have NEVER been a /b/tard, nor do I ever plan to be one. Sure, some really funny stuff comes out of it once in blue moon, but the universially-known fact that the other 98% of /b/ consists of pr0n and n3kkid people (note the absence of a degrading /po/ pun) makes me avoid it like the plague.

OP here. Small update, starting to look more gundam-ish now. I was thinking about coating it all with paper-mashé to give a proper finish, and painting it. also to get rid of all the tape...

I'd love to do this, but make a Zero mask from Code Geass.

Can you offer any suggestions to someone attempting to do this for the first time?

Use plaster or FibreGlass Resin. Paper mache is a children's tool.
>> Anonymous
Papermache isn't a kids thing if you use laquer instead of paste. You can build it to a material that rivals fiberglass since the laquer turns the layers of paper to plywood. (A German mask building technic.)

Remember allow for ventalation to prevent CO2 build up under the mask. CPU fans work best.

I'd really like some advice on how to build something like Zero's mask from Code Geass.

post how it looks right about now, and the plans you based it on please

As far as I can see on scaling an existing papercraft up, there is a couple of options.

1. You can get the PDO file and open it in pepakura designer then rescale (Ctrl+L) with the program to a size of a simular helmet you can wear. (Problem ... the finish printout will either be too large for a printed page.)

2. Print the original template on grid paper the work out scale for a full size helmet then grid onto cardboard. (Problems .. alot of work but no doubt it is the method this guy is using.)

3. Use method 1 to figure out the scale then use second method to trasfer the template.

actually i tried using gridpaper but it was enormously timeconsuming, and wasnt very accurate. so instead i hooked a projector to my computer and hung it in the ceeling:D works a charm.
