OMFG. First try at origami. Anonymous
I have been making papercraft things for months now.

So I tried to make origami for the first time. An origami T-rex.

Holy fuck, I must've done something wrong because now it looks like a kangaroo. :(

PS in this pic you can faintly see a sentry gun in the background.

From almost the exact same angle. Way to go.

Also; practice, dumbass

Dammit, I knew this thread would piss Ausfags off.

Main reason it looks like a kangaroo is it's dragging its tail along the group. Most dinos held their tails out horizontally for balance. So it's not so much your fault as the models'. That's easily corrected with a few differences in the folding. Also, PRACTICE!

Not an ausfag, just stating the second pic is fairly useless because it shows us the exact same thing as the first pic. Also that you have to practice more.

Not OP, but I think if the tail was correct in this model, it wouldn't be able to stand free. It would need major differences to the feet to work... The front would probably need to be changed a lot too, since the T-Rex held its body horizontally (according to SCIENCE anyway).
tl;dr The model is bad in general, it's not just the tail that's off. It cannot be fixed without being something else entirely.

The book it's from is on the old side; Montroll released a book all of origami dinos later on that had a more correct T-Rex.

Where do you want it? Rapidshare? Megaupload? Tell me, I'll post it.

Eh, I'll just upload it to both.

Rapidshare: http://rapidshare.com/files/138838347/jm-po.pdf.html

Oh, and Montroll also has a kangaroo that's made from that same base, so no wonder it looks like it!

Okay guys, I fixed it a bit and now it looks more like a scientifically-correct dinosaur. It doesn't look exactly like a T-rex, but at least it doesn't look like a bloody kangaroo.

Pics will come later, as soon as I free up the memory on my camera. :X
