Hello /po/,
I am a newbie papercrafter and I'm having some torubles. I can't even make a cube T_T *picture related* Does /po/ have any tips for papercraft on making squares and or techniques in general? Much thanks, apperciative anon.

no offense, but if you can't pull off a cube, you really suck.

...fold them?
...apply glue?
...cut them out of the paper?

I don't exactly know what to tell you

Small cubes are a bitch.
Heres a tutorial that teaches you... a lot. From materials, cutting, glueing and assembling. :

Cubes are hard since you can't close them easily without tools.

Tip: Alway close a side with no tabs on it last. Then just put glue on all the tabs it attaches to, then press it down.

This is a troll, stop feeding it.
If by any small probability the OP is actually serious, then a message to OP:

just get some more practice under your belt. cubes are the most basic shape out there. Just keep it up, watch the tutorial videos till you know the steps by heart, then move on to the bigger stuff.

I actually find it much easier for the last side to close have 1 tab on it: that way, you can push that tab between the two sides that are already closed, and push the final side down on the two tabs that are on the other sides (it makes no sense when explaining in words).
If there is NO tab, you might be warping/bending the cube a littleso the angles aren't 90 degrees anymore, this is a lot less likely to happen with "zipper" style glueing flaps (alternating flaps).

Also, just because the tabs are all on the sides, doesn't mean you have to follow that exactly: like I said I find it easier to cut have one flap on the top side of the cube (and one at the bottom side of the cube), so I just create one there while cutting, and I cut off the other one I basically replaced. Don't be afraid to not follow each and every line exactly as it is on the template, often with fanmade templates, there are "flaws" or at least stuff that could have been designed better, and often you can find a solution yourself.

speaking as another complete neophyte, I've got the basic concepts down, but am wondering what the best type or weight of paper is for most general templates.

Lately I've been using regular printer paper. Is that about standard?
