hey /po/ just got a self healing drafting board to cut on, im wondering if u guys use these to cut out all ur stuff? or just the details? Do u guys use scissors for the easier stuff to cut?

He does have the blade in a handle I think, but he puts his finger on the "back" (top) of the blade to help guide it better if I understand correctly.
I'm only wondering what he's cutting. Cutting paper/cardstock with a sharp blade requires no real pressure, so you don't need to push down so hard that you would get a "groove" in your finger...
Most accidents happen from using a blunt blade so you need to push down too hard, that's when you slip and cut yourself... Cutting paper (and whatever it is you have lying underneath) dulls the tip of the blade really fast. Regularly change your blade or sharpen it again.

yes, you're right, thats how i do it, i change my blades about once a month, is that not often enough?
