Starting Out Anonymous
Hi /po/, I've been looking (lurking) around in this board for a while now... And I think I should actually try to print some stuff out and try making them... but I'm not sure what paper to use. I'm pretty sure you guys don't use A4's...
What kind of paper should I use if I want something durable, and doesn't get damaged if I wipe off dust using damp paper towel? (Assuming I have done something worthy of being on display for that long)

Oh, and I have no problem building, I've done a Gundam one before... just that I bought it, so it's already in good quality paper.

A4 is metric paper size, it's what everyone uses except that backwards country in America.
Paper is usually listed by strength in "grams per square meter" (gsm²) which roughly equates to actual thickness, 3rd rate nations use "pounds" (listed as lbs.).
There is also a factor of roughness and brightness. Papercraft works best around 75gsm² on smooth bright paper.
Spray or brush applied acrylic coatings are most common for dust and humidity protection.

Also, pics or it didn't happen, newdyke.

normal printer paper,70/80gm is just too thin...I usually use 160gm paper and it makes very strong papercrafts.Oh, and I prefer matte paper 'cause glue work faster on it.

normal printer paper is fine, and you probably mean "don't use photopaper".

no, I just intended what I said.
I never used photopaper mainly 'cause it's too expansive.
Glue takes more time to work on gloss paper, try matte paper.
I built my first papercrafts with normal printer paper and they are too light and soft to resist time. Oh, but if you build simple stuff like hakos I think it's good enought, maybe it's your case?

PHOTO PAPER IS NOT GOOD FOR PAPERCRAFTS UNLESS YOU ARE TRYING TO CREATE SOME KIND OF EFFECT LIKE METAL OR WHATNOT!

No you can't read. I'm just letting everyone know that you shouldn't use photopaper for papercrafts. It has nothing to do with how expensive it is!
