Hi /po/.

I want to learn how to make paper models of buildings and houses. More specifically I want to be able to make them with detailed interiors.

i.e like one of those doll houses with removable roof and wall and several stories filled with tables and beds.

I have already read all the stuff about materials and methods, so my question is where do I find such models?

Searching via google brings up a mess of links that go to web pages that dont link to other web pages that dont have anything.

My second question is how to scale up the models and stiffen them.

I will be building the buildings as doll houses for my 1/72 scale warhammer 40k models to use as tea houses and night time sleep over parties.

If a paper model is 1/144, will doubling the height and width of the print out make it 1/72 scale?

Will spraying card stock models with pva glue diluted with water stiffen the models or are they stiff enough?

Dont really have anything to post in return, so here is a funny picture of Saddam Hussein.

love hussein lagann.

Anyways, you can probably dig up a bunch of house models on Google Sketchup's model archive, but you'll probably have to do a little modification using gmax or another free 3d kinda program to make them right for papercraft.

Of course, you can take the models and put them into pepakura designer to make the printable layouts.

To stiffen models, I try to use Krylon Seal Coat or something similar. It's good stuff.

and yes, 1/144 x 2/1 = 1/72

but be careful, upgrading an 8.5x11 paper to an 11x17 is NOT doubling (though you DO get twice the surface area)... it's only adding... 52% or something like that.

you know, it's actually a hobby, and for some people a PROFESSION to make scale model houses out of posterboard and tiny facade sheets.

In fact, my job is an evolution of that concept (I make the houses, but in 3d, and render them all fancy-like)

^picture related.

only problem is that I don't have my good render, I just realized that this one has the funky carpet that looks like the odd plastic material UNDERNEATH the carpet...
