my first papercraft animation
a quick test
>> Anonymous
Fucking awesome. I demand more.

Papercraft plus stop-motion animation. Brilliant!
>> Anonymous
I've seen R2D2 GIFfed this way, and a few others with some basic animation going on, as well as just about every crank operated model. Nothing original here, not even a great effort. Actually rather boring.

thanks guys, i'll make more.
also give me some ideas, not too elaborate
good old blocky games come to mind like
elevator action

gee thanks, like i said it was a test
it was also more trouble than i thought making the models
anyways YOU make one and impress the shit out of everyone please :) i'm sure it will be brilliant

I wasnt that poster but...

if you can't take any criticism, then don't post anything.
>> gizmogal !MmLOyiCYJs
sweet! that's a great idea.

no it's actually all good, it's just a test, so relax
my fault i should've made it juggle kittens
anyways, if anyone can make some quick animations i'd like to see em
>> snappy handle
>>84742
Pretty cute, even if it's just a test. If I had a camera and more exciting model, I'd throw my hat in
>> Anonymous
Oh my fucking God that was awesome.

i guess i could have had 3 guys run around, but instead i did 2
now i need to make the guys that chase him
warning: u might get bored :)
if so run, don't walk to /b/

>>84773
i would say pick a simple character and simple
walk cycle or other animation to start out, o yeah and borrow a digital camera
>> Anonymous
And now we wait for pixelated monks for stop-motion killing action. GO FOR THE GOLD JACK!
>> Anonymous
this calls in for a matrix style camera run!
>> Anonymous

>>84808
that got me to think how i would position the
tripod to do an accurate orbit around the runner
>> Anonymous

a little rough, but it's all i'm willing
to muster for the time being
kinda works...

That's some papercraft running in one place while the camera rotates around it. Don't really get what's so Matrix-esque about it (did>>84808mean the Trinity float thing? The point of that actually is that she's NOT moving, the point is that the ACTION freezes while the CAMERA moves. So if you want to recreate THAT, you would have to make a running one, then freeze it, and THEN make the camera rotate around it).

But the others are very simple (that's a good thing for stuff like this) and cute. Best just to forget the last one, and focus on the good ones. ;)

i actually rotated the cutting board so i wouldn't
have to keep repositioning the camera.
i think to do a better matrix style the figure would
have to have more frames of motion when it slo-mos
still an interesting challenge. its a good 1st try

last attempt at matrix

>>85800
Rotation is a bit fast, but it's more Matrix-esque this way I think. ;)
If you do the rotation really slow like you say in>>84848, A LOT more frames (maybe 3-5 seconds in total, but that's something to find out what looks nicest by trial and error) I think it will look even better.
Glad someone's enjoying themselves. ;)

>>84848
thanks yes its actually quite enjoyable :)
i can mess with the timing a bit, but later
with that done now i need to make a story
