8-bit papercraft...is it out there?
I saw this, and I think it's made of wood...but I'd like to make something like it to go with a BM cosplay I'm doing in about a month.

also fighter/Red mage/white mage/thief :)

<3 po.
/offtopic: also there's no arts and crafts forum in this corner of the internet.
how lame is that.

What? I can't cosplay a gigantic turd without getting shit for it.
What a world.

Yes, moar /po/eple have had the same idea as you. ;)
Basically what you do is, find the sprite using Google, print it out big, then hold a strip of paper next to the sprite and make folds where necessary. Print the sprite again only mirrored for the other side. Add tabs or just use tape to glue/tape it all together. Deadsimple.

the short answer being >Do it your damn self XD

I'll give it a go though. Hopefully the level of fail will be low...
this doesn't mean I'll reject proper templates though!

actually there is an arts and crafts board
http://kei.iichan.net/craft/wakaba.html

its on iichan

hmm, so there is.
awh, it's such a little forum ^^

anyways...I got pretty much nowhere in attempting this myself. Makes me feel like about the biggest noob on the internet for failing at something that seems so simple oO

...anyone wanna finish it for me? ;_; I was looking to put a 2cm black strip around it so it has some size to it
>> Anonymous
...no one? ; 3;

well this is sad.

If nobody picks it up by mid-Friday - mid-Saturday I'll see about doing it. It's fairly simple.

a bump for bowel movement cosplay
>> GoblinGuy
I started on it. I made one or two mistakes that I'll go back and fix later, and then continue working on it.

I'm going to be busy most of tonight, and tomorrow afternoon, so, even though I've already started one, if someone still wants to pick this up, please feel free to do so. Mine not be done for a few days at the least.

"Mine not be done"? The hell.

"Mine's not going to be done".

awesome, goblin guy.
An internet to you good sir.

I'm looking forward to it.
Also to push my luck, would there be a chance of you making a similar fighter/white mage model?
>> GoblinGuy
>>140203
There's a chance, if this turns out like it should. Also, does a backside sprite of Megaman for the NES exist? I don't know how many ones are different, but more specifically, Megaman 2. I was working on it, too, but I need a backside, and can't find one.

There is a mario papercraft.

Ooh! I used megaman 2 sprites for a lego project, so I know this. There is no back sprite, just one for left/right or left/right while hes shooting, and the sprite while hes climbing ladders. But I would like to see one for link...
>> Anonymous
never seen a megaman, but then again I've never looked.

I'm actually a bit surprised that there's not a site somewhere with all the sprite front/backs...or at least one that google shows in the first few pages >>
>> Anonymous
>>140224
oh well that's shitty.
Depending on how complicated the sprite is, making a back could be a simple method of inverting the front and altering the design a bit.
>> Anonymous
...well apparently I'm a big idiot who should lrn2google.

http://www.gsarchives.net/index2.php?category=all&system=nes&letter=all

I'm looking through it now, but it looks like an okay source...
>> Anonymous
>>140227
it has no backs. your success is marred by 50% fail!
>> GoblinGuy
Templates are done. Now all I have to do is testbuild it, and pray that I didn't mess up any measurements.

Godspeed GoblinGuy!

I'll see what I can do about getting front/backs of white mage and fighter if you're still up for it...
>> GoblinGuy
>>140424
Sure!

I've got about two-thirds of it done, but I have somewhere to go, so I'll finish it later today. Question, though.

The parts are really small, but it's still 100% buildable, and from bottom to the tip of the hat, it comes up at a height JUUUUST below a regular soda can. Do you want it bigger or kept the same size?
>> Anonymous
hmm, maybe just a touch bigger.

I'd be carrying them, so big enough to see/recognize at a bit of a distance, but not so big that I"m carrying a clone of myself around :)

between 6-8 inches sound good?

also: using the magic of paint, I approximated some front/back of white mage :P
Lord knows they're not accurate...but I made some educated guesses...

Still working on fighter, his armor and stuff makes things a bit more complicated.

with a lovely blue background, due to the fact that it has a lot of white edges that would have been otherwise lost.
>> GoblinGuy
>>140522
All right. The middle sections are too small as I'm seeing it, so I have to fix those and make them around three times bigger so the thing can actually stand.

Not finished yet, I'm a little sidetracked at the moment.

>>140523
Thanks! As soon as I'm done with this, I'll get started on it.
>> Anonymous
take your time :) I don't need these until the 23rd of may technically...
but don't take that as an offer to push it until then please xD

and I'm glad to help. Makes a /po/ noob like me feel useful.
>> GoblinGuy
All right, so here's how it's gonna happen.

I only made one mistake in the measurements, and I can fix that easily. The thing is about as thin as half of a soda bottle cap. I'm only taking a wild stab in the dark when I guess that you guys want the thing to be thicker than that. How much thicker should it be?

Because I gotta be honest with you, I am bored to tears attaching the back to the front. So, since I already know everything to fix, I want to release this to you as soon as possible. Just need to know how thick you want it.
>> Anonymous
I understand ^^; thanks for all this effort!
an inch or two thick would be awesome for me.
>> Anonymous
a bump. looking forward to seeing this.

So. I've tried resizing it and I just hurt more than I help, so if you want to re-size it to be a bit bigger, go ahead. The way it is, it'll fit in your hand. It's hand-sized.

Anywho, this should work. It took me so long because I was making SURE that there wouldn't be any problems, since I wasn't going to re-test-build. The reason I didn't finish mine was because the mid-sections and the tabs on the mid-sections were too small. That's fixed now, so it should be all right.

oh man, thank you SO much!
I can't wait to try it out!
stupid printer..lacking ink...
