Hey /po/. Anyone got Yugioh papercraft? Preferrably of the monsters.
>> Anonymous
just print and cut out that picture
>> Anonymous
it would actually look pretty neat if you cut of the monster and had it stand up while still attached to the card
>> Anonymous
hmm, that's a good idea, but are there any actual papercrafts of the monsters?
>> Anonymous
Ok, before anyone decides to yell at me for not lurking, im going to say that i found nothing. I would be happy to make models for this, but i dont know how. I have heard of unfolding, but, i know thats after you make the model. If someone could point me towards a tutorial, many thanks!

you can always rip models from some of the ps2 games

It's been forever since I've played yugioh, but I wouldn't mind a well made blue or red eyes

IMO Slifer is the only god card worth making.

Ra and Obelisk are both terribly uninspired.

I'd love a Slifer, Ra, Blue or Red Eyes model. Thing is, I can't make em as i don't know how. Or, how about this?

Is anyone on /po/ gonna make one? I'd love to see a Yu-gi-oh papercraft, especially of a dragon like this.
>> Anonymous
Those dragons are sick! Someone MUST make one!
>> Anonymous
I'll give it a shot... However, be warned this will be the first time i've ever made a model, so pray for me
>> Anonymous
Anyone know where i can rip some models, or someone get me some links to some of the ripped PS2 games, or even the PC one?
>> Anonymous
OK, which model are you making?
>> Anonymous

Is it Blue Eyes White Dragon you're making?
>> Anonymous
Yes, for starters. Then i'll see where my luck takes me
>> Anonymous
Sweet. When will it be done?
>> Anonymous

>> Anonymous
Got any WIP pics for /po/ yet? *I hope this looks awesome!!!)*
>> Satallgeese
i guess now that i've suggested i do it, im obligated. This is my first time doing anything, so hopefully i'll have something up by the end of the day or tomorrow.
Reference pics would be appreciated. Which version of the blue eyes does /po/ want?
>> GoblinGuy
>>148214
You're not obligated. Promising something you're unsure about leads to disappointment, from /po/'s side, and your side as well. I know this because I've done it before.

So, step one is to take your time, and don't worry about the people who want it. All that matters is if you want it, and if you decide to give up, that's fine too because it's your project.

Step two if you don't give up, is to release when it's ready, and not a moment sooner, whether it be the 3D model or the papercraft.

I made the mistake of having a model up "within the week" when it wasn't ready, and I hadn't built it yet. I eventually did build it, and decided there were too many problems with it, and I didn't release it until a few weeks ago, almost a year after I first showed it on /po/. I felt really bad about it, because it felt like I was "hogging" it to myself. But I eventually did release it, and now all is good.

So don't rush into anything you're unsure of just because of /po/.

Thanks for all of the support! here is some proof that i'm learning sketch up, hopefully once i learn how to curve cylinders, i can start it tomorrow. Thanks!

BTW, anyone know how to get the textures to stop being gay?
>> Nex
>>148263

Well, from what it looks like, it looks like you just have one side of the idol and a white background which won't work as a texture... I mean, how's it supposed to know that all the sides are the same, and how will it know what the bottom of it is supposed to be?

OK, make BEWD. He's still awesome!! Did my references help?

How big is the model gonna be?
>> Satallgeese
>>148281
Yes
>>148283
about the size of a model of a monster on top of an actual card.

for anyone else, i'm having some trouble with pep, i've fixed the textures, and then i export as google earth 4 and open in pep, and the textures seem to be flung about at random. can i get some info on that?
>> Anonymous
>>148285

just export as a bitmap with no texture, then add texture in photoshop, or paint.net is a good free program.
>> Anonymous
How big is it in cm? like 5 cm or big, like 30?
>> Satallgeese
>>148287
ok, what? let me show you what's wrong.
>> Satallgeese
     File :-(, x)
That was definitely my bad, meant browse, not submit.
Anyways, look at picture
It looks fine, the textures are even and lined up, but when i export to google earth 4 format and open in pep, the textures freak, the lines go crazy. It's very nonsensical.

>>148288
Probably 7-10 in, or 17 - 25 cm.... The smaller the papercraft, the harder, in my opinion, and just by looking, i can see tons of little details, like the side of his head, and the layers on his chest

OMG, 2 posts in a row.... Well i've finished the millenium puzzle, here it is for everyone.... because this is my first pp, i'm not quite sure how to put it into a pdf, in order to print, i just used the print wizard and chose centered and rotated to fit. Good luck and have fun!

ok, 4chan hates me right now. definitely tried to post the second picture and started a new thread. then i tried to reupload into this forum, and it wouldn't let me. Sorry!

Cool! have you started work on BEWD yet or are you still trying to complete the puzzle for practise? If so, when will you start?

Also, i vote for a 25 cm BEWD. By the way, i started this thread and provided all reference. need any more? If so, let me know and i'll see what i can do.

That's true, so make him as big as possible! Maybe 12 inch? But, if not, i too vote for 10 inch.

Hey Satallgeese and Slifer creator, any progress so far?
>> Satallgeese
     File :-(, x)
OK. Sorry for the absence, we went and saw Indy Jones. It rocked. maybe, if i dont fail this model, i'll make a crystal skull. Anyways, at dinner, my parents decided to break to me that my grandparents bought a ticket for me to go with them to greece. for a month. without my computer. All I'll have is my moms OLD laptop, with only a 198 MGHz processor. That's right, MegaHurtz. so the model's in greece, not a good idea. Anyways, that means i have two weeks before i have to deal with a harddrive that writes on stone tablets.

Here's a quick outline for the head, i've discovered it's quite difficult to draw in two dimensions in SU.
>> Anonymous
>>148966

Make a rectangular plane or something, and draw on that. It's a bit easier.
>> THI

>>148988
What image is your Slifer based on? How big is it?
>> Anonymous
>>149101
You realize "how big is it" is something Pepakura decides, not a 3D modeling program. How big it is currently is what you're looking at right there.
>> Anonymous
That's the actual size of the model on the screen, but i meant how big is it if i were to make it.
>> Anonymous
>>149112
depends on how big you want to resize it after its made

chill out and let the guy work in peace
>> Anonymous
OK, i'll chill out, but how do i resize it and in what program? (specifics please)
>> Anonymous
Can i use Paint to resize the model?

Imagine an 18 inch slifer......
>> Anonymous
>>149117
jgjdfhsgdskfjhgjkdsfkl

Download Pepakura and learn how it works.

To turn a 3D model into papercraft, you must use the program Pepakura Designer (it's on /rs/, if that was also too hard to figure out). There, you can unfold the model into a buildable form manually, not automatically, and you can decide how big it will be when finished.
>> Anonymous
OK, thanks alot! but do you know a way i can change it after the model's been built?
>> Anonymous
>>149160
if it's passworded, you can't.

if it's unpassworded, you can scale the development or unfold it and do it again yourself.
>> Anonymous
Couldn't i use POdragon's way?

File > Copy Development to Clipboard
Maximize the percent to whatever you please, paste into MSPaint and print.

1. To make the model bigger : Go to Image > Sketch/Skew OR hit Ctrl + W
Then scale it up to whatever percentage you want.

Most likely while I'm there, the model is a little tougher then i thought it would be... Not to mention finals are all next week, leaving me only a couple of days to work on it. Sorry for the absences, Time Warner has been playing with our cables, and I've been forced to live without internet for a couple of days... the longest of my life.... Hey, shut up! I didn't make all the threads anyway! In case you didn't know, threads like the Duskull one are NOT mine. Besides, I just wanted to see if anyone had any of the models, but you morons have to whine and complain eevery time someone asks for something. OK, let's please forget about this and not fight. If i promise to stop making Pokemon threads and begging for updates, will you all forget about this and continue treating this like a normal board with (hardly) any complaints? I swear I'll try not to do the stuff i mentioned above if you guys agree. I just want a friendly board.
>> Anonymous
>>151208
yes. here's what you do.

1) if you want to keep this thread alive, bump it by saying "bump" and not "updates".

2) if the thread dies, wait at least a week before making a new one, if you make a new one, it's fine to ask for updates in the OP. also make sure no other yu gi oh threads don't already exist, as you can just post there with "anything happen with [model]?"

3) keep all seperate pokemon requests in one thread. we know all or 90% of them are you, so just make one thread and keep it there once the others die.

you don't have to follow any of this, but you will look less annoying and more like you know how to post.
>> Anonymous
OK thanks, but how do i keep it in 1 thread when it says "404 not found"?
