Evangelion Unit 00, huge Rosethornn
http://www.strikebbs.host.sk/papermodel.html

I posted pics of a Unit 01 model I found a while back (the thread's still going somewhere).

Anyway, I found Unit 00 instructions, and it seems to be on the same scale and from the same designer, and it's all free. Enjoy!

Those are from Inner Brain. Although technically they weren't supposed to be free, but scanners+internet...
The original kit offers much more value, though: it includes a cd-rom with software that lets you print a extra copy of the parts, that also come pre-printed on quality cardstock (that's basically what you're downloading for free nowadays) and instructions, but what you rarely see is the software that lets you play the instructional quicktime movies.

yah, I doubt a lot of things on /po/ were originally free.. at least 30% were, at some point, made for profit.

But yay, share the love and all that. It'd take someone pretty hardcore to make one of these, anyway.. so I don't think they're losing too much revenue. :P

Actually they went out of business...
That's why there's a Eva unit 00, a Eva Unit 01, but not a Eva Unit 02. (that Masamune Eva 02 that we'll never have, so don't bother asking ;) is not a Inner Brain, obviously). Made by the guy inspired by/converting the Eva 00 and 01 models - well, sounds easy, but I'm sure it wasn't ;)
And I think it's actually 98% is free stuff (there's A LOT of free stuff out on the internet, made by fans, not companies - and even then: much of the stuff made by companies are free gifts in magazines, on website, with games and stuff).

Well it would be pretty easy to mod the Unit 01 to make Unit 02.. Recolouring, some change of preportions and a new head.

From the look of it, a lot of parts were shared in the Unit 01/00 models, so it makes sense.

lol, the peepz that think designing good paper models is easy...

lol, the art-peepz who've tried. ;)

Anyway, with programs like Pepakura, etc, it's become so much easier than it was before.

Eva Unit 02 is meant to be the production model of the series which Unit 01 was the prototype. Unit 00 was pretty much the concept model. So it figures that Unit 02 has a tonne of similarities with 00 & 01.

nifty, thanks for the link...
I finally got around to seeing most of NGE, and have begun making 01 at school... not easy. ;;

That much is true. Main difference are a different head, different chest plate, and little differces on shoulder armour (and color, of course).
And yes, with Pepakura, making paper models is easiER than before for many people. But easiER doesn't mean it's easY. ;) For many people, the fact that you have to create, or at least edit a existing 3D model, is a major hurdle they cannot overcome. Even with SketchUp, 99% of the people would fail making a nice Eva Unit head, and 99,9% would fail at making one that equals Inner Brain quality (the 0,1% that didn't fail isn't sharing ;). Most people will already have trouble/fail at changing the colors...
Still lol'ing, but a little out of pain because I wish Inner Brain was still around...
