>>98566 I'm gonna take a shot at why they named him Cloud Strife. Let's start with what we know about clouds--not scientifically. Back in the old days of older generations before us, we know that they loved to look at the clouds. Clouds are like abstract paintings, as they appear to you as what you think they appear as. And there are other stuff like dreams related to clouds--but I'm not too familiar with that. Anyhoo, what do we know about Cloud? He has an identity disorder. Or maybe just an imaginary facade. Both technically true. You know, he tried being someone or something he wasn't, and he failed to achieve his dream of becoming a SOLDIER. Next up, his last name, Strife. I think it's pretty damn obvious here, so let's move on. In short, Cloud Strife is not only Cloud's name but also a big logo shouting at us to what kind of person he is and his story: a guy who struggled with his life, dreams, and identity. *blinks* ...Well, if we knew the background of Gainsborough, who I think was a priest that died unnaturally (not by life span), then we all would have known Aerith GAINSBOROUGH would have died from the start. Actually, someone else told me about Gainsborough. Me? I'm bored, as you can tell if you're actually reading this.
