pepakura designer NOT VIEWER
to be used with a 3d imaging program
such as metasequoia, blender, 3dsketchthingy

is the 3d program really time consuming? or is it relitavly easy to pick up? for basic shapes and such? does it add tabs for you? and cost for the 3d programs?

Blender is free, but takes some time to get used to it and learn the ways into it, although when you do it's very intuitive.
Don't know about the others.

Depends. If you're a real talent, it will be easy. Some 3D programs are simple, some are very difficult. Some are very expensive, some are free.
Adding tabs doesn't need to be done in the 3D program, but in Pepakura Designer as the next step. You tell Pepakura where to cut the 3D model up, and it adds the tabs for you. But you need to think things through, you can't depend on the program for everything or the papercraft will suck.
Sketchup is a simple free 3D program that's more than sufficient for papercraft. Will it be easy for you? That depends more on you than ion the program. ;)

sketch up dont work with the pepakura designer? it says file type not supported.
>> Jen
The free version of Sketchup doesn't save in a file format that will work with Pepakura Designer. But if you have the full version, or a version that's been hacked, then it will save in multiple file formats.

I know there's a working torrent for this:
[isoHunt] SketchUp Pro v6.0.515.torrent
but I don't remember what the url for getting the torrent file for it is, so you'd have to search for that. It's an .exe file that comes with a keygen, so you have to be able to run Windows on your computer.
