/po/, I've never made a papercraft before, but I'd love to start on something. What kind of paper/glue/etc. do I need to get? I'd love to make Metal Gear Rex.

i'd recommend doing some small 1hour crafts before tackling something that might take you weeks

also for paper you can use regular printer paper but 110lb cardstock is recommended for sturdier papercraft, and for glue you can use anything like Elmer's school glue, wood glue, super glue, etc. but school glue works well.

Where can I get the 110lb cardstock?

>>71401

And what would you suggest for small 1 hour crafts?

i got my cardstock at walmart, but you can try any place that sells paper... kinko's, office depot, micheal's, whatever

i keep forgetting the second part of the question when i reply, there's hundreds of options of things to make that won't take you too long to complete, but a good beginner one (the one i started with) is>>70952

Hahaha, are you serious? Metal gear rex took me around 2 hours.

I recommend starting on a simple papercraft, maybe this camera, and using plain printer paper, just to get used to how the paper's used, it's easier to use than cardstock.

Then once you've made a couple of easy ones and you've gotten used to papercrafting, move onto cardstock.

Also, if you live in England, use Bostik all purpose adhesive, it's perfect. Although if you're in the US, apparently Elmer's glue is fine.

how the hell did you print out, cut out, fold, and glue 7 pages worth of pieces in 2 hours

and not everyone has the perseverance to sit down and finish something all at once, especially when they're new to papercraft

Because he's bullshitting.

Also bs. ;)

some people settle for regular printer paper, but it's not necessary to start with it, it's a choice
>> Volt
>>71412

Yeah, I wouldn't expect someone new to do it in a couple of hours. But weeks? That's stretching it a bit. It's a very simple papercraft, just quite a few pieces.

Oh, yeah, I'm always lieing about my papercraft making, the girls love it.

You're an idiot.

Just the physical act of cutting all the parts out and scoring the folds takes more than two hours...

The only reason to use regular printer paper is because it's cheaper.
It's a good reason for some, but it's the only reason.
Cardstock is only like 2-3 times as thick as regular paper, it doesn't make a difference when you're talking about folding or bending it. The only difference is your papercraft will be sturdier so it won't buckle so easily when you handle it. And it will be a little more expensive to build.

I don't score my folds. My fingers work well enough for me.

What works for you, works for you.
Scoring (denting the paper on the fold line) will make the parts easier to fold, on regular paper as well. Especially when you have to do small parts.

Disregard that, I suck cocks.

Woah, good job. People can obviously see that's me.

I uploaded this easy file a couple weeks ago.

And this one has the same stuff in it but medium and "hard" stuff as well.
