Notepaper notes Anonymous
This is probably the wrong place to ask this, but since /jp/ was spectacularly unhelpful...

Does anyone here know where a guy could acquire a notepad of kozo or similar-type japanese paper? I need something to write 'thank yous' and other notes on, but regular paper is too boring and decorated paper is too distracting (plus you never know when it might turn out to be inappropriate). I know calligraphy paper sometimes comes in small pads, but it's too thin and tears if I use a pen on it. Any thoughts?

Like.... stick-it notes?

No, like for short correspondence. Anything from postcard size to about twice that would be awesome.

Although, if you know where I can get post-its like that, I'm not sure I could resist...

Try to find a paper shop or a stationary store. Otherwise, go to Japan and pick some up over there since every other store is a paper store.

Okay, I don't want it THAT badly. "Stationery shop" these days seems to mean Staples/Office Max/Hallmark Store, which don't exactly have what I want.

But I guess I could just try Chinatown the next time I go into the city.

little japanese/korean stores? i did live in more of an asian populated city so..... there was an asian stationary store around every corner. stuff like "morning glory". normally plazas with a tapioca/boba store, or try 99 Ranch market, there should be a good number of stationary stores around there.

Those are office stores. Try a craft shop like Michaels or Hobby Lobby if your town doesn't have a stationary store.

It doesn't sound like you need a specifically Asian paper, right? Then what this Anon said:>>143379. Craft stores- Michael's, Hobby Lobby, A.C.Moore, Jo-Ann Fabrics. Check the scrapbooking departments for various kinds of notecards, parchment paper pads, colored/patterned cardstock stacks- any number of things you could use.
