I lost the lines-template thing for making paper stars- can anon help me out? Patterns/textures are welcome too.
>> Anonymous
1. Fold paper strip into flat knot at one end
2. wrap around, following angles
3. tuck excess flap under a wrap-around
4. crimp corners
5. ????
6. STAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARS

Er, no, the lines you print out so you get those perfectly sized strips for making the stars. I can't cut a straight line to save my life without them. Sorry I wasn't clear.
>> Anonymous
Well, if you make a square, and cut it into sixteen equally wide rectangles... That's what I use when I make stars.
>> Anonymous
...But I can't. cut. straight. lines. I failed with rulers, even- the only thing that ever helped was those lines, and that was snipping away at the paper very slowly, and very carefully. ;_; Please help me, /po/.

i found a star on the floor somewhere(ok, when i was still in college) and for LONGEST time i've wanted to know how to build it... and finally i do.
Now, when I'm at a restaurant i can make paper AND STRAW stars with the straw(duh) and the paper that wraps the straw. (google search is easy to do)

And that's the best of them. Before I go; instructions for the noobs.

Fold first, then cut? If you can fold a straight line, you can make a guide to cut a straight line.
Eh, whatever. You've got your printouts, you don't need me blabbing on.

so hold on, these long strips make one star. But to make the star you fold most of it up therefore most of the printed strips are hidden. What? I seriously don't get these.
>> Anonymous
>>191411
that's why half the images have large whitespace
you cut it so one end of the strip has pattern, while the rest is just for the structure.

Oh god, please, this can't be true. Maple haunts me everywhere.

Did you guys ever fold the full 1000 for yourself?
I made 2 batches of 1000 now, both are presents. Somehow can't be assed to make some for myself.

Also, is there anything else than 1000 stars and cranes the has a story behind it and requires 1000? or maybe 100?
I am almost done with my cranes and need something new.

There goes my ink. But wait! Why not simply print on colored paper? Lol.. much easier.

I made them in word. Just make a page-filling table.

When you fold the half-white strips, you start with the knot at the unprinted end and the printed side facing out from most of the knot. This way you'll end up wrapping the printed bit at the outside of the finished product.

Just try it and you'll work it out.

Yep I've tried them now. Still don't really see the point in all that printed stuff which looks good un-folded but when you complete the star you can barely see any of it and its all messed up. Meh, plain colours ftw.
