>>177517 I went to Venice at the start of the summer, and while I was there I learnt how to make masks the authentic way. Let me give a brief explanation:
Step 1: Make a positive out of oil based clay. Whatever shape you want your mask to be. Step 2: Make a plaster negative of the clay shape. Leave to dry. Step 3: Give the inside of the plaster negative a good coating of Vaseline. Papier mache the inside of the plaster negative, making sure that you give it several coats of paper. Leave to dry. Step 4: Remove the paper mask. Cut off any excess paper around the edges. Step 5: Paint.
