Awesome.

Oh goodness, do want.

Can this be a Kirby papercraft thread? I lost all my papercraft files in a recent PC wipe.
>> Anonymous
Wow, I need this. My roommate will love it.

Thanks guys! I'm glad to know that other people like it as much as I do. As for a detailed pattern, I don't really have one. Basically, I go to various sprite ripping sites and use MSPaint's Graph function to highlight all of the pixels and then PrintScreen of the image at 800% and that becomes my pattern. I tend to figure out the colors as I go.

So, while I don't have a finished pattern for Kirby, I do have one for Link that I came up with that would do well with an oven mitt (you can find stitchable ones at your local craft store or online)

Here's the pattern complete with DMC thread colors...

>>164975

And here is what it looks like when finished. (Protip: Metallic gold is a bitch to stitch with)

I have more examples of my work if people are curious... but I'm not sure if I should keep posting is this is craft, but not papercraft (We seriously need a general sort of /diy/ board)
>> Anonymous
>>164976
that gold thread is so awesome!
>> Anonymous
>>164976
Do you colour your squares before stitching over?
>> Anonymous
>>164984

No, I do not. Usually, I just set up my fabric in a hoop, figure out the center, and start stitching. If a sprite has a black outline, I'll usually try to start with that and then fill in with other colors afterwards.
>> GoblinGuy
>>164976
I really need to take up cross-stitching again.

That being said, thanks to Philipp for the Kirby Chef. Eventually I'm going to build this and put it in the kitchen.

Seeing as we all think you're awesome, I don't think anyone would mind. /po/ gets a few off topic craft threads anyway just because we're all somewhat crafty people here.

Also I hate to be that "How do I papercraft!?!?" kind of person but are there any good tutorials out there to get started with? I've never done it before but I would love to try.
>> Anonymous
I think more stiching threads are necessary, especially when they're as awesome as these. Also, /r/ing more video sprites in stitch form, PLEASE.

No one seems to loose their files that often as /po/

Same. The last thing I made was a pokeball from scratch. I was so proud of that thing. I wish I could find it now.
This thread has given me a few ideas. (That'll never go anywhere due to apathy anyway.)

I have thought about doing Pokemon Sprites, I'm just picky about which ones I'll use. I'm making up a whole bunch of my custom coasters to sell at Anime Weekend Atlanta and I will have a Mudkip available.

And a King Slime I made for myself. I just love that expression.

When my mother uses metallic gold thread, she uses something called "Thread Heaven".
You just run the thread through this waxy block, and then it stitches almost as easily as regular stuff - or so she says.

You can go to any sprite rip site out there, and find a 1 to 1 sprite (Some have 2x sized sprites, and they don't work as well) and then import them into a program like this one.

http://www.iktsoft.net/kgchart-en/kgchart/

(no install necessary, but you have to 7-zip the executable if you don't want to go through the install program.)

It'll give you a proper chart, and there's an option to show how it will look (see attached pic)

I suggest:
white mage, blackmage, redmage, and kefka, from FF.
