Vidya game origami Anonymouse
With this post, I intend for any and all video game related origami to be posted. To start, I'll show two of my own design, fresh off the design floor.

In this corner, we have the Perilous Parasite, METROOIIID!

AAAAAAAAAAND in this corner, the Cycloptic Crustacean, NES Zelda GOOOOOHMAAAAAAA!

No one has anything? Or wants diagrams?

This straight origami?

I'd love the patterns to thsoe two, but I have none to post.
>> Anonymouse
Ack. Bad news. I had the diagrams, ready to scan, and the genius of my freind (he's a compulsive cleaner) led to them being thrown away. If you mean "straight" to be one square, no cuts, then yes, they are what I call "pure origami". I am, and always will be, a Purist, thank you very much. It will probably be a day or two before I get more drawn.

Metroid instructions, page 1. Before you begin, get a degree in Egyptian heiroglyphs. I tried to write slow, but my handwriting is still horrid.

Last page. Hopefully I'll have the Gohma instructions tomorrow or the next day. I also hope this inspires others to post some VIDEO GAME ORIGAMI INSTRUCTIONS!!! Ahem...

Gohma!?

It's a tektite! And it's been called like that since the very first Zelda!
Shame.

Gohmas are those cyclops biped thingies from Dodongo Caverns.
>> Anonymous
>>19885

Fail. Gohma was also a boss enemy in the dungeons.
>> Anonymous
>>19893

They're both called 'Gohma'. It's all the same race, just different hiarchy.
With the big one being the Queen or whatever and those little thingies the larvae(/drones).

One thing though, they are related with the tektites, but tektites aren't Gohmas.

Although, there were a few other 'Gohma' bosses too in other version, there was one in the first LoZ, there was one in WW and in OoS.
The one in LoZ was a queen tektite of sorts, so I guess there lies the connection to the OoT Gohmas, but they're not one and the same. It's whole new breed after that.

The only thing they have mostly in common is that they're arthropods.

Sir, tektites have FOUR legs, and no claws, and are much smaller. Try PLAYING the entire first game before correcting me, the actual DESIGNER of the model. And, if I remember, this form of the Gohma showed up in Four Swords Adventures for Gamecube as well, so, through all technicality, you are wrong ttwice over, sir.

Does a star fox ship count? when my brother return home with my camera next monday I'll post pics and instructions if the steps return to my head XD

Dude, that would fucking ROCK!!! FINALLY, someone else contributing to this thread!

I would love to see that. I tried to make one and got close but it still wasn't right and then i forgot how i did it anyway.

Pure origami is more interesting than papercrafts to me, although some papercrafts are quite impressive.

It's simple, it's been posted before some time ago, and I've fixed the colors and gimpy looking facial expression... It's Cave Story's Balrog!

I'm a nub, but how do I attach the feet? It has me mystified.
>> Anonymouse
Well, I meant this to be an ORIGAMI thread, so please, with all due respect, don't post too much papercraft here. It seems that guy who promised an Arwing hasn't shown up yet, and in a twist of Irony, I designed one after he mentioned it, thinking it would be a fun exercise to get a color change for the laser housings. I had no intention of posting it(didn't want to seem competitious), but this thread doesn't seem to be going anywhere, so I guess I'll have to...

If you are saying you already have one please post your model and dont let the people waiting, as for my model it will take more time because my camera(in the hands of my brother) will return in more days that those that I thought, that will teach me to say no when someone ask for it again...
By the way I made my star fox ship 3 years ago so maybe will look crapy XD as soon as I get my camera you'll see the instructions
>> Glassfragment

You fold the white flaps on the feet so that from the front, it looks kinda like this:

_]

The "underscore" being the sole of the foot. Fold the white flap up and inward, then glue 'em to the bottom of Balrog, so he'll "stand up" on his feet.
>> Glassfragment
>>20344

Alternatively, you can fold the flaps on the feet like this: > < so Balrog has a little "bounce" in his feets.

Didn't mean to cause you high blood pressure. I was in another state, and didn't have access to my scanner or camera. Anyway, here's what the Arwing looks like, and the instructions will follow.

Page 1. I highly recommend the use of foil, because the model gets thick with the formation of the wings.

Here it is, see? it's craapy, besides I forgot to make those ears-like on top the wings I blame my memory for not remember that part...(my model needs to be reformed, maybe I'll try later) so if someone want the instructions I'll post them later..
>> help =O Mush
uhh could i get help on folding the arwing?
I can clearly read the instructions but im not too good on understanding them =( such as steps 9+.
If someone could msn me, even better =D, my msn is the email addy.
Thanks

What problems are you having, exactly?
>>20527
Sure, I'd like instructions. Sounds fun.
>> Mush
hmm well, on step 9, i duno what the arrows/unwrap locked paper means, if i unfold it, i cant keep step 9 (fold the flap up), and for me, its the top part that unfolds, unlike step 10 which looks like the bottom.

after fooling around alot, i ended up with what appeared to be what step 16 looks like, but i dont know how to do 17, and just kinda stopped there

>>20757
I hope that you understand that what the instructions lead to at that point is a blintzed frog base. Blintzing, if you don't know, is folding all of the corners to the center of the square, like you would do to make a fortune teller. The four corners of the paper are at the top corner of the folded base, which is the center of the paper, and "unlock the paper" simply means unfold that portion of the model enough to make the structure (only 1/4 of the paper) made by steps 4,5, and 8 relatively flat. Then, unfold that single corner that was blintzed at the beginning of the folding sequence.

If your model looks something like step 13, that's okay. Just refold the upper portion of the flap on the creases made by steps 4-5, thus making a half of a bird base. The best way to do this is to squash fold the colored flap, then make an unusual petal fold, like you were petal folding the small flap of a frog base, yet the petal fold has a triangular flap coming off of it. If you just understood what I just said, and were able to do it,you should have what looks like step 9. After that, follow the 2 following steps to finish up the rest of the flap. The result should be a colored bird base connected to a white frog base.

I don't know if this will help, but I tried to explain as thoroughly as possible, so if you're still having trouble, someone else who has folded the model may be able to help you.
