I know you would lose the advantage of having the textures and designs printed on the material, but has anyone tried using a papercraft pattern to make a plush toy with?

I've been thinking about using a papercraft pattern to make a plushie, but I haven't seen a pattern that would make a good plushie. Plus I'm still working on a Lemmings plushie.

Lemmings plushie?! Rock on! I know this is /po/ and all, but I still think you should post a pic of it's completion somewhere on 4chan. :D

I'm considering making a plush Domokun cube.
I would buy one of Jlist, but since I live in Australia it would end up being really expensive (the little one is $AU16.55 and the big one is $AU76.85, PLUS the postage on top).
I got some soft brown furry material from a material shop for like $5, it's about 1x1.5m (it was the last remnant of a roll of material).
Now all I've gotta do is figure out how the hell to make it. Probably use red & white felt for the mouth and teeth, and buttons or something for the eyes. And of course attempt to get mum to help with the sewing part (due to the fact that I can't sew to save my life, I can barely fix holes in my socks).
Having it sewn would probably look a lot better than glueing i, since the fur has a tiny bit of length to it (kinda like teddy bear fur). I know it's not the same as the real thing, but for $5....

Pic is of course related, cause it's the one on jlist.

I made a Ranma plushie a few years ago that could be turned inside out to switch genders. If I can get it back from my friend I'll post pictures.

I'm doing something sort of like this. I'm making a Nny plushie for a friend and working on creating a papercraft of his head to get the correct comic-book look to it. So far, it's going well. It wouldn't be appropriate exactly for this board as the completed piece (stuffed) is 5'8'' and I'm thinking of redoing his legs to make him even taller. On that note, has anyone here ever made any really big papercraft? Not just complicated, but actually big. I'm having some trouble with collapsing.

Not mine, but possibly helpful. If you know the Eva 01 pattern, it's basically layered. Basic body parts enforced for roundness, and then the armor layered over. Something like that should help keep it solid.

Thank you. The layering won't work as support in the actual plushie, but I may be able to work it into the design with the "stuffed" parts layered on the inside and a smooth fabic covering on the top to get it to look nicer.

does anyone have the papercraft for it?

Be honest: you're pretty lame. Period. ;o)
Here's a secret: on a website in IE, press CTRL+F (that's pressing the "control"-key and the "F"-key at the same time...) to open up a search box; type in "eva" while viewing the sticky and it'll take about half a millisec to find what you're looking for:>>10784
