have any of you ever made and given origami flower bouquets as gifts to girls and if so, what was the result?
>> Xydirus
big smile and a hug, at least in my case
twice :P
yes, I'm cheap
>> Anonymous
>>100929
But is that really cheap? How much time did you spend making said flowers?
>> Anonymous
>>100929
I did the same thing :P
It took me five minutes, and it was worth it...
>> Xydirus
oh yeah, well, by cheap i mean that "I'd rather spend 1 1/2 hours (I didn't even took that much) making a nice 15 cent gift than spending $5-$15 in an also nice gift
but actually (and I wont tell much about this 'cause I'll surely be called fag) girls appreciate it, they like the fact that you dedicated your time on it. The fact that you care enough about them, that you went a step further than just walking into some random shop and buy some random gift, but you somehow managed to make them a gift of your own, something unique, made specially for them. of course out there are some materialist bitches that wont like anything less than $40, but at least my friends liked their gifts pretty much.
I hope your friend is not one of the second ones I mentioned, 'cause I wouldn't like to spend the same money that I would spend in some cheap (but good) printer in just one gift...

oragami flowers are win. shows thoughtfulness and effort, don't wilt and there is no vase water to turn into disgusting mold stew. given with a nice vase like the one pictured is a good idea too.

I gave a bouquet to my mom and she seemed to appreciate it. A lot of girls I know (including myself) hate getting flowers because unless you hang them up and dry them they die in a few days.

Works for me, but I've had trouble replying to some posts (like>>100859, I get a 404 when I click Reply).
4Chan is just a bit buggy sometimes. Maybe it'll be okay again tomorrow.

I think it's very sincere, that every crease or fold you make is for the thought of somebody.

I received a bouquet of Kawasaki roses for Valentines... result? I got another bouquet the next year for our first Valentines anniversary!

Good luck Anon =)

Five minutes?! I just spent 45 minutes on one rose, and it looks like shit.

I bow before your superior skills.

Girl, here (OMG GURLS ON UR INTERNETZ. RUN, BOYS. RUN.).

I like the idea of an origami bouquet better. He spent effort, he spent some time learning how to make them look nice, and personally, I like the idea of getting flowers without him having to spend a million billion dollars. Paying shit-tons of money for flowers that are going to wilt in a few days always sounded like a crappy idea to me.

I think I really need to get origami paper to do these, rather than just printer paper like I'm using.

I'm giving ten kawasaki roses to a girl I like at school, but that's about it.

Considering that you'd rather make them yourself than buy a pre-made bouquet that wasn't made from your own hard work, it's more thoughtful than it is cheap.

A personal lesson is the best, but there are also youtube tutorials. Don't give up! Personally I had to make at least a dozen before they started looking decent.

And don't forget rose colours have meanings (a yellow one means only friendship), so do the number of roses.

>>101265
And for lilies, some associate them with death, have to be careful there =)
