Birds are considered a form of dinosaur. Avian dinosaurs. The dinos that died out are non-avian dinosaurs. They are more closely related to birds than they are to reptiles (and if I remember correctly, more closely related to turtles than lizards).
Also, there are two kinds of raptors. Dromaeosaurs (Velociraptors, etc.), and birds of prey (eagles, hawks, etc.) (not sure if this affects what you said.
Dromaeosaurs had feathers.
Anyhow, the important thing is : nice model.
