Aliens M4-1 Pulse Gun Anonymous
Hello to all,

I would like to request help regarding the M4-1 Pulse Gun. I would like to know has anybody managed to make this model?
I have been having problems with it, the part I can't get right is the magazine piece & the piece it goes into, the pieces seems to be very tight & does seem to be small. If anybody has made this please can they let me know.

Thank you

Hi mate I know where to get it from. The problem I have is when making the magazine section of the gun & the part that it goes into, the part it goes into is to small for the magazine section, as you can see from the picture. do you have any idea on what scale this should be printed out so that it does work? also what program is best to use to print it out?

It says on the site to print the whole thing at 90-95% instead of 100%, that might be your problem. Umm... otherwise you might not be able to get it in with smooshing it.

Also, that gun is freaking HUGE.

printing it at 90-95% is to get it at a correct 1:1 scale. It shouldn't matter if you printed it at 200% or 5%, as long as you print ALL the pages the SAME scale: the proportions will still be the same.
That is the case if the difference is half a cm or something, if it's just a VERY tight fit (so tight you can't get it in (I can hear the /b/tard comments already...) it may be the cardstock you're using (plain paper 80 gsm or cardstock 200 gsm can make quite a difference) or you just need to work more carefully.

i am using cardstock 160gsm and it still is a tight fit. what program would be be to print out the templates?

That seems simple enough then, print out the magazine slightly smaller than the feed.

how? could you test it for me to see if it works the way the site says.

Not at the moment, sorry, I'm working on two other nodels atm, a dodecaheathen and Bahamut.

mmk, I'll try it after I get my dodecaheathen finished. (eta 30 mins- 1/2 an hour)

And what do you actually want me to check? to see how it feeds into the slot?

yes mate. to see if it goes in & out easy & its not tight. also if you get it to work can you please tell me how you printed it out. i.e what software?

Hmm. Since they're images and not PDF's, I'm going to print them using Irfranview (I can resize them to the right size in it too).

ok cheers mate. will you let me know how you go?

I made the Pulse Rifle some time ago.
I remember that i buit the magazine i think about.. 3 times to get the right size? I measured the hole, then bent the magazine itself just a little smaller and it works fine. If you scribe aloong the original folding lines, the magazine is too big to fit in. (I also had to add a little green piece below the grenade trigger.. it was missing or something oO)

I hope that's not a joke. He meant Irfan View.
