anyone know where i can get instructions for iguana origami?

Play around with those bases and you should be able to get something iguana like enough. The defining feature of an iguana would be... the ridge of spines on the back? The beak like mouth? the crest of spine on the head? Long tapering tail? Dunno what youre going for exactly, but the bases Brian Chan made should work for a basic lizard looking model.

The pictured model was only published in Spanish magazines, so no diagrams for that, unfortunately.

thanks for the links! though it might take me a while to figure it all out... are there, any origami books (looking for specific titles) that might possibly have a good and complicated iguana?

That's Jean Claude Correia's Iguana. It's from a 2x1 rectangle. Look in the origami database for where to find it.
