Requests? Pepa Craft
I'll take a few simple requests while waiting for Tim's, or somebody else who has NES 's about the front button placement.
Just give some ideas, not too complicated please, and I shall see if I would like to build it. Also the popularity of a model shall sorta weigh it too.
>> Anonymous
What exactly do you need to know about the NES that you're waiting on Tim for? I figure it would probably be best to line out all of the things that are still needed to make the final product to scale. I have an NES, and I can start measuring things for you as well as soon as I go to bed and wake up later in the morning. It's 1:15 AM here, so I'm thinking about going to bed soon, but I think it would be a good idea to figure out all the dimensions that are still required.

lol, I'm just asking to see if there are any other requests that I can maybe do when/if I need clarifications on things. This is so that I can be the most productive when I am modelling.
Since this might take sometime with the different parts. I may want to take some breaks and do another model lol

If you are able to, could you please take pics of your cleanest NES game (don't have to open mint bags lol) from all the sides?

Anonymous-with-NES, if you could send me an email and I can give you details. I am going to email Tim.

Good idea. How about a soda pop can or a pill bottle? Then people could design what they want to on the template, like the spiky baby series.

Here's a quick pill bottle.

Can someone possibly dimensionify the NES game cart?

Bump for soda can.
>> Pepa Craft
hmmm, a soda can seems simple enough

If you need a higher quality image of a top of a soda can I can take one right now, that one's kinda blurry. ^^
>> Pepa Craft
lol, I made a simpler can, so I'll just release it when I have my act all together with stuff

How about a zig from Zero Wing?

I request a /po/ mascotte!
>> Jen

Fair enough. What should /po/ have as their mascot. I'd say that it should be a papercraft papercut, but I'm not willing to do that one myself. It's hilarious, yes, but something else would probably be better. We could look at making a cute one, possibly something like the ones that are associated with pepakura, like the dragon and the other figures you can get for buying a password code.

I think you are my soul mate. Because the exact same thing came to mind when he mentioned a mascot.

That would be a great idea! We need a mascot. Could a cartoony x-acto knife work, or maybe a dismembered finger? [I'm kidding on the last one]

No, no, no. If you're going to make a can of anything it should be a can of Whoop Ass!

Requests you say? How about an energy tank from Metroid. Or the similar life capsule from Cave Story. These would be nice :)
>> Pepa Craft
okay, the can of whoop ass and energy capsule are being made, i do not know much about cave story so i don't know what it may look like. The metroid one can be like the gamecube version, stay tuned :)

I was actually thinking about your dismembered finger thread when I wrote that. I'm guessing the one who said I was a soul mate was influenced by that thread as well.

>>47413

Just posting that number so people can reach the thread. It's a common error, and it can be deleted by the person who posts it. There's a box to the left of the post. Click on it, and it's marked. Then scroll to the bottom right of the page where it asks if you want to delete the post, or just the file. You can then either delete the post or report it. This has been a basic lesson on the not-so-commonly used options on 4chan.

I keep forgetting that Cave Story is the place where that suitcase-like character comes from--the Balrog. Here's a little picture of the life capsule I found on the very devoted fan site of the game. I need to play this sometime, but I'm told that it's huge. There's a papercraft of the Balrog. I don't know its history or anything; I just know that I got the template once while browsing /b/.

There have been plans to make a version of Cave Story/Dokutsu Monogatari for PSP, and to be ported to the Nintendo DS. I have not done research to see if either one has already been completed. Below is the site for all of the items in the game. It's also the very nice fan site mentioned earlier.

Just play the freeware PC version. The game is epic, I played it for the first time four months ago. It's like Castlevania, Metroid, and Megaman together.

Yeah, that thread will stay in the minds of many... hiding in their deepest subconscious
till someday, years later, when they least expect it, it'll jump to the surface and give'em a big bran muffin covered in a thick layer of panic attack.

That would be fun to do, but blades are used mainly for papercraft. About the only time they're used in origami is to get the paper the right shape before folding, otherwise it's kirigami instead.

I still think a papercraft x-acto knife would be fun, though. I put in a request for one that's simple and has a size that can be held by some papercraft characters. If someone makes that, then I'll promise to make one that fits the Kirby I have, or to blow it up and make a larger one. I will post pics.

What kind of x-acto knife would people like a papercraft of?
