Dontsudontsu
Shameless plug incoming!

I recently got a blog up and running, Dontsucrafts, where I will be taking requests for anime papercrafts!

Long story short, I'm a 3D modeler with a passion for anime models, as well as one for papercrafts. Unfortunately, making the 3D model, making it ready to be folded and then test folding it until it's completed takes quite a lot of time and I'm hoping someone will be able to test fold my creations in return of getting their requested anime papercrafts!

Check it out if it seems interesting to you!

do you do game characters too or just anime?
>> Dontsudontsu
>>176499

That really depends. When I say anime, I'm talking about the style more than I'm talking about the medium.
Also, as stated in the blog, I'm sadly much better at making females than males (come on, cute characters are the best. Who cares about huge musclemen.)

Lol. The reason I ask is I was going to request Ada in her RE4 dress from you. :)

your a dyke arent you?
>> Dontsudontsu
>>176513

If dyke means what I think it means, then I think you're pretty far off. I guess I'm a pretty stereotype otaku/japanophile/whatever you wish to call it, which explains just about everything.

>>176511
I'll keep it it mind, though I can't promise anything :v

>>176518
dyke means your a girl who only likes to bang girls not boys. and since your here and a "japanophile" as you call it odds are your bi
>> Anonymous
>>176518
I don't care if you're a dyke or not, if you can provide Resident Evil papercrafts, then you are just plain awsome. I guess this is a good time to mention Fatal Frame, seeing as the entire series takes place in Japan. Either of those subjects would make some awsome papercraft.

Hi, I'm so excited to hear that someone who's good with 3D programs is taking requests...

It would be great if you could make Sora from kingdom hearts...I believe someone tried to do it at>>170783but it seems like ppl have given up already...thx~
For sure I'll test build it and give feedbacks if you post the model here =)

I'm all for the Sora model, too, but it would be awesome if you could make some of the characters from Fullmetal Alchemist in more realistic versions than what I've seen of them so far. Especially if you could make one of Envy.

Yeah, I know he's male, but he looks feminine enough to be mistaken for a girl :3

Oh god yes.

I'm really sorry to all the other people who have requested stuff that I haven't replied to. I really don't want to come off as an asshole, so I don't like saying no, but a couple of the requests have been... well, not exactly what I had in mind.

At the moment I'm working on Nyoro~n, and it's really tempting to ignore all the other requests and go straight for Habanero-tan since she's the cutest little thing ever.
Either way I need to finish my current models, so no decisions yet.

Another model I was working on, that I had actually totally forgotten about is Ringo-chan from the Winamp Visualizer 'Omamo Ringo san 3' (See picture)

Sorry I'm not working faster, I'm going to school, work and on top of that I just got Ookami for the Wii and Eternal Sonata for the Xbox, so I got far too much to spend my time on..

Oh, and for the record, before there's any more confusion; I have a goatee. No dyke here, just your "average" guy with a passion for 'moe'.

If you make Habanero-tan, you will be a much cooler person than the last guy who said he was gonna make Habanero-tan.

Also, what is this Ookami game of which you speak? Sounds fun, can a brother get a box art picture?

It's an adventure game, sort of like Zelda, and the main element is Japanese sumi-e paintings, so the art style is incredible.

Unfortunately, I haven't played it much yet, but I've heard it's a truly great game. Definately worth buying.

(...Yeah, I know what it is. I have it, too, and I'm supposed to be getting some new covers for the game soon. I'm just calling you out that you spelled the name wrong. It's Okami, not Ookami. No hard feelings, though, right?)
>> Dontsudontsu
>>177432
In fact, it's ?kami, and the ? is actually a long o, most often written as Oo (since it's a lot easier than the unusual ? character).

The game's title is "??", which means "Great God" and is written in hiragana as "????" consisting of the words "??" (Oo, meaning big, great) and "??" (Kami, meaning God), just like the kanji for Wolf (?) which is also written "????".

As a student in the Japanese language, I sort of know these sort of things. No hard feelings, just showing off my TOTALLY AWESOME SKILLS!!!11, etc. etc.
>> GoblinGuy
>>177435
Huh... I always thought ? was "ou", but then again, I'm NOT a student in the Japanese language. Lesson'd.
>> Dontsudontsu
>>177437
It's a long o, which is usually written "ou", but can also be "oo". The translation from Japanese to English is pretty shitty, since there are so many different ways to translate it, as if a lot of different people worked on translating it at the same time.
>> Anonymous !bgREVLN8FU
>>177435
Ohh, now I get it. Man, I really need one of those keyboards that can type in other languages. Then, of course, I'll have to learn them. But first, awesome keyboard.

Keyboard papercraft? I dunno.
>> GoblinGuy
>>177435
Hah, this is kind of a learning experience actually. I recognized "?" as one of the few kanji I actually know, and said "Isn't that 'dai'...?". Looked it up, turns out it was. So can 'dai' be read as "oo" as well? They both mean the same thing, but just wondering.
>> Anonymous
>>177435
>>177437

It is ou.
Usually.
It's complicated, but it pretty much comes down to this:
? = ou = ??
Always, always, freaking always.

EXCEPT in the character ?
Where it tends to be ?? / oo

It CAN be ou, but not in this case.

There are two "readings" for Kanji, there's on-reading and kun-reading. As an example, ? (on: Jin, kun: Hito, meaning "person" or "man"). On is the chinese ( might be wrong on this one ) way, and is used when it's connected to other words, like ??? (Nihonjin, Japanese person), while kun is the japanese reading and used when the kanji stands alone (or rather, is not connected with another kanji to form a new word, but a word in itself), as in ??? (Otoko no hito, meaning man (male person)).

Blah, I'm pretty lousy at explaining, but that's the jest of it anyway.
As for keyboard, you don't need a special keyboard. There's this great thing called Microsoft IME (if you're using Windows XP anyway), it lets you type directly in japanese. I use a word processor (a text editor with kanji lookup, japanese dictionaries, direct japanese input etc. etc.)

I'll stop now >_<
>> Anonymous !bgREVLN8FU
>>177448
So wait, directly as in type a word, and it auto-translates? Or directly as in type a key and a random symbol pops out?
>> Dontsudontsu
>>177450
Actually I'm not completly sure, as I mostly use the word processor, but I'm pretty sure you just type in romaji (example: type "watashi ha dontsudontsu desu" and it shows up as "????????????", though after you've typed a word like watashi, you can press space and you get a popup for choosing which kanji to use, where you can choose the right kanji (?))
