Schnitzel Anonymous
Started working on Schnitzel from the cartoon Chowder. Constructively criticize me. It's my first attempt using software to make a model rather than starting from paper.

Should be something more like the shape here, I know it's not exact but I just did it in about 5 minutes. If you want to use it I can upload it for you.

Damn. I totally suck at Sketchup. My boxy Schnitzel took me around 30 minutes. I like yours much better.

I'll go ahead and start again. For some reason I never even thought to do cylinders.

I tried to figure out the rotate thing in Sketchup, but gave up. I think I'll stick with Misfit Model from now on.

Xydirus to the rescue!!!
geez, that sounded more riddiculous than I indended to...
To rotate in sketchup:
TO SELECT:
1.- if the piece is not a complement or independent body or something that makes it be independant to the rest of the body, select it with the select tool. to easily select a piece make a LEFT rectangle that covers everything in the piece, the left rectangles are used to "select everithing that the rectangle touches", rather than just the pieces that are entirely inside it, as don with a RIGHT rectangle.
2.- de-select everything that you don't want to be selected, kkeping shift+control (I think so) and LEFT SELECTING from another angle, everything that you don't want to rotate. once you are sure that the piece you want to rotate is the ONLY THING selected, procced to select the rotate tool.
TO ROTATE:
2.- you can "infer" measures by positioning the camera in the right angle. I.E: if you put the transporter over the horizon It should become a vertical transporter. the color the transporter turns shows you the infered plane. you can LOCK the infering by hitting SHIFT while the transporter is in the desired plane. position the transporter WITH ONE CLICK in the spin origin. then ANOTHER CLICK in the point to rotate, and FINALLY ANOTHER CLICK at the desired angle. If you hold the first click, the transporter will follw the mouse and aling THE PLANE towards the mouse. I.E: imagine a botle on a table. If you want to rotate the bottle, select the center of the top being sure that the transporter will rotate in the vertical plane, and then any point at a side, and rotate.if you CLICK AND HOLD the mouse from the center of the top and release at a side of the bottle, it will spin like if you hold the top with a little wire and spun it. For better references search for tutorials in youtube, 'caues I'm sure that you noticed that my english sucks...
