Hey /po/. I'm a /tg/-er usually, but I needed a little help and you're the paper guys.

So I'm designing a game that can be played with paper cutouts on a paper board. I'm also designing it so that you can print all of this out from your printer (so it can be distributed easily on the internet). The board is four pages worth of printing, taped together and the players use paper cutouts as characters. Dice are then placed on the cutouts to keep track of things.

The problem i'm having is that sliding flat paper cutouts weighted down with dice around a flat board is annoying, and they don't slide well. Wut can I do, /po/?

Laminating the map might work. The only thing I could really think of to make it easier would be to make the board a glossy poster-style deal, packaged with a rulebook, then make the peices downloadable off the internet. Unfortunately, getting the money, backing, etc. to do this could be an issue. But if you design a good enough game, it's doable. And if it's good enough to do that and succeed, then plenty of people will buy it because it's a good game that doesn't take too much money to get into. But then, if you want to continue being successful in the bussiness, you'd have to keep releasing purchasable stuff, or make more and more games in a similar format. So... I guess just lamination.

Hm...I was hoping to just release it for free on the internet (thus it should be able to be made by anyone at home).

But thanks for the help, I'll keep thinking about it.

I would say to look at the papercraft board games on http://ravensblight.com/papertoys.html. That might help you get some ideas for what you can do.
