Gorilla glue motherfucker
>> Sheol
I use a brand of krazy glue that has a purple cap and a brush applicator. It's the best I've used so far and Gorilla Glue is scary shit to just papercraft with.

these threads are the incurable leukemia of /po/
retarded fucktards repeatedly asking for the EXACT SAME ADVICE and is posted at least once a week and is answered on a dozen of websites.
"what glue/paper do I use" is the furfag of /po/

its easier to ask you guys, and sometimes people are nice :)

yes

honestly, i think the people going batshit every time one of these threads come up are more unreasonable. there hasn't been one of these threads in weeks, and as long as new people are coming to /po/ people are going to be asking these questions

it is not like telling these people to use google or fucking gtfo will make less people post these threads.. why don't we just answer their question calmly, tell them to use google next time, and move on?

That being said, i just use elmers. I squirt a pearl sized drop into a piece of scrap cardstock, and apply to my tabs with a toothpick. don't use too much glue at once!

It's funny how before theses threads never made me mad or whatever, but now your ignorance has made me rage.

personally I am selfish and just like getting gratification. I help others to make myself feel better. Different path, same goal, I suppose.

/po/ is more than one page, newdyke, I think there are 3 within the last week still on the board, probably more. Fucking redundant shit is fucking redundant.
>> Anonymous
>>199691
This is why nobody comes to /po/.

People come here, thinking "Oh, these papercrafts are pretty cool! I think I'll get into this!"

They then ask you guys what materials you use so they can enjoy this hobby and then you bite their fucking heads off because they don't know about shit that was posted before they came here.

I remember when this was the most benevolent board on 4chan.

Here.
>>199692
I should have also asked why faggots like you always post multiple times with the same message, one post after another, with no response to your first post yet?
>> Anonymous
>>199686
/po/ might tell you to use Gorilla Glue. Google may tell you to use Gorilla Glue. DO NOT use Gorilla Glue until you've done at least 15 papercrafts and will not destroy your hands.
>> X !!Yc0bFuexJCy
>>200456

Maybe we should just make a collective /po/ instructions.pdf and we just post that everytime someone posts one of these?

http://www.papercraftmuseum.com/pcmforum/topic.php?id=20

Guess that you'll find most of the information you need there.
Also, is it so hard to print and use like any white glue out there in the house to give it a try? That's what I did and it worked out pretty well.
And it's not like you have just one chance to succed and therefore you have to use the correct glue right on the first try. And it's not like it's too expensive to print the same model two or three times to do some experiment and see which combination of paper/glue/cutting device/patience/state of mind/level of hunger/level of despair/level of drowziness/level of alcohol/and whatever is best for you. Is it?
And it's not so hard also to simple surf through the pages of /po/ if you found no information on google (what I highly doubt) before making a thread like this

>>200459
I think it would be better to simple add a stick on one of these thread and leave there on the first page
But a .pdf with directions is a nice idea too
>> X !!Yc0bFuexJCy
>>200474

Yeah, I agree with the sticky, but everyone seems to want one and I don't think I've ever seen one, so I figured this would be the second best idea.

the true 'incurable leukemia of /po/'.

The fact that /po/ isn't mainly trolls, sarcasm, destructive criticism, and just spoilt-child-like moaning about someone coming to a papercraft forum to ask for advice from genuine people with experience in papercrafting is what makes this forum great and seperates it from the rest of 4chan. Help out, make a papercraft, encourage others to do the same or GTFO.

Also it's production discussion threads like these i.e. what paper/glue/knife should i use that will result in either good or crap models for a new person which could decide whether they take it up as a hobby or not.

Also you suggest that this advice is available on websites, hell, why can't this be one of those websites dedicated to papercraft and origami.

ohwait..

At the risk of answering the question rather than being bitchy, I use Eileen's Tacky Glue, but to be fair most of what I do is pretty simple and most glues would probably work for me...

So no one agrees on which glue???
>> Anonymous
>>201371
Of course we all agree PVA is the best glue, but it's not available everywhere (a clear sign in any product of its superiority).
>> Anonymous
>>201416
i fucking hate PVA, that shit takes too long to dry. also 'washable' does not make me believe it is 'durable'.

however it is superior for paper mache
>> Anonymous
>>201426
I contradict you trolling. PVA bonds instantly (unless you're too eurodyke to properly use it), cures in minutes, dries clear, no stringiness, its "washable" means you have to soak it several minutes in hot soapy water to remove it from textile, it doesn't stain, clear coats can be applied over it, inexpensive, widely available in worthwhile countries, and doesn't leave tacky residue. Using both it and UHU, I've found UHU can get stringy, leaves tacky residue, can't seal or clearcoat over it, and after about 5 years hardens, yellows, and releases.

ANY glue than can glue PAPER is fine
don't try to use special glue for acrilic
don't try to use special glue for wood
don't try to use special glue for spaceshutters
don't try to use special glue for food
just use any common paper glue

since this and
>>201370and the other two threads about glue and paper that are found in the first 3 pages of /po/ are trolls just trying to start a fuss I'll just sage this
>> Anonymous
bump??????????????????
>> Anonymous
>>201428
not trolling, i'm just a bit impatient with glue drying. A hot glue gun is what i use which is set in a matter of around 5 seconds and is solid.
>PVA bonds instantly
and then if you don't stay holding it for another minute or two it can slide apart, i don't want to wait a minute with each tab.

~ You don't share my opinion, you must be a troll.
Oh you
>> Anonymous
How do you keep hot glue from lumping, stringing and smearing, and keep it as a thin film so the joint doesn't look like a caulking sandwich? What clear coats can be sprayed over it?
Apply white glue thinly, press the seam with fingers and rub, smaller seams use flat faced needlenose pliers. This all takes about 2 seconds to make a permanently bonded join, and I continue to the next seam without it popping open (this has to do with the "doing it right" part).

Protip: Use the thicker Aileen's or let some Elmer's air dry for a couple minutes, and thinly paint the entire model. When dry a single clear acrylic spray coat instantly glosses and seals the whole model perfectly.

Too many benefits, too few side affects, from using white glue to not use white glue.
Or you could use horse semen to hot glue your model.
