Popup books Anonymous
Please post any and all stuff you have on popup book crafts, like designs, examples etc.
i'm working on one but i need some ideas, i'd essentially like to do something more advanced, one with a physical object that flattens down when the page is closed, as apposed to sticking flat objects to 'nooks' in the paper.

Oh god I fucking love Robert Sabuda. Gonna make my final project (Graphic Design Student) on pop-up books because of his work.

Check his very web site for some basic techniques, just combine and experiment to make something bigger and more complex. I have a couple pop-up cards I made a while ago you could have when I get back from work, gimme three-four hours.

Ok, anon. Here goes the firs one: "Fragile" is a simple pop-up box, only textured so it looks a bit better. The only interesting thing is the closing system on top.

This is the second one: a lotus flower opening from a hand-shaped card. The nice thing here is the volume achieved, and it's not that difficult to get. No assembling instructions, you should be able to figure it with the image.

Replace Alice with Edgar Teglee from Psychonauts and this would be perfect!

I refuse to believe /po/ doesn't have any more on this thing. No more pop-ups?

Lots of things are better when replaced by Psychonauts.
