>>126553 When people (like game developers and wannabe/upcoming game developers) make 3D models for other purpose than to just make one "action screenshot"-render of it, it's easiest to store them in a standard position, apply bones and stuff, so it can be easily animated. So when you download the model, it will be in that standard pose, and most people lack the skill to change the pose. It sounds easier than it is, just rotating the arms and stuff will look crappy. You can usually tell when somebody found a nice model and tried to give it a nice action pose but didn't really know how to do it "professionally", the pose will be awkward... ;) Pepakura is a great tool, but many people use not so good models as a starting point because they're TOO enthusiastic I think. But hey, it keeps new models coming, those to whom papercraft isn't just a phase will probably learn and improve and even these early models will make people happy, since it's such a big world. ;)
