I have diagrams to make a different version from the one illustrated. I'll see if I can find it, the instructions are in Japanese because they came packet of Chiyogami papers which are too beautiful to be used.

You can still use it to hold chopsticks.

Here's a sample of chiyogami paper. I brought this when I was on holiday in Hong Kong. You can easily buy Japanese related items there.

Oh God... I wasted a sheet last night on a model that was laying around that I had been wanting to do. I screwed up horribly... I felt really bad so I cremated it.

Can someone translate Step 6? I have no idea what to do.

I can't read Japanese but can sort of guess what the diagram on step 6 is saying. I think you have to fold the right flap over the left flap from step 5. Following the direction of the arrow, it means you have have to unfold the right flap.
So you tuck it inside the left flap on step 7.
Don't know if it helps as I haven't made this chopsticks holder.

Step six means fold and then unfold the fold you just made, it's a standard origami convention

I forgot how, but you can make a chopstick holder in the form of a crane from the paper wrap of the chopsticks.

You can use to hold calligraphy brush or a pen.
