welcome to /po/! first, to get started, watch the video here to pick up some basic techniques: http://www.yamaha-motor.co.jp/global/entertainment/papercraft/howto/index.html next, be sure to get all the right tools. You'll definitely need a cutting mat, papercraft glue(I use Elmer's Papercraft Glue) a ruler, hobby knife, scissors, and a scoring tool. All of which can be found at your local hobby store. As for a scoring tool, many different things work. some people use empty pencils/pens, unfolded paperclips, and even the backside of a hobby knife. I myself use the dirt cleaning tool on a set of fingernail clippers. For paper, some argue that printer paper works fine, but others argue it's too flimsy and they recommend 110 lb. cardstock instead. I use 110 lb. for all my models, and I get mine at wal-mart. 300 sheets for 5 bux. next, some decent models can be found on rapidsearch(http://rapidsearch.yi.org) or even some of the pages here, look through them and see if there's anything you like. Some decent starting models are: Moot The Katamari Prince Any hako model The Phoenix Wright Models and a good deal of the models at canon's papercraft website: http://cp.c-ij.com/english/
