Holy ink-wasting hobby, Batman! Anonymous
Hey /po/or bastards.
I've recently joined the legion of growing nublets in the papercrafting community, and I must say that this hobby has milked my poor lexmark of nearl all of it's ink. I'm about to embark on the journey that is Bahamut, and I'm praying that my nearly empty cartridge is going to hold out long enough.
So my question to you is how the hell do you keep your bank accounts intact and your cartidges full while still keeping yourselves busy with papercrafting?
Pic only related in that I love PH like a fat kid loves ding-dongs.

Which bahaumat u doing?
also, use ur friends/colleges/work (or otherwise, yungfags) printers

Doing the one from paperkraft. I was going to resize it to make it a biiiit smaller but then I said fuck it and let the bigass bastard print. Unfortunatly mr printer did crap out on me and it looks like I'll either be doing to the rest in greyscale or shell out 22 bucks I don't have on a cartridge D:

It's a chibi/SD version, so yeah, the scaling is correct. For a non-SD version, see http://www.freewebs.com/chamoo_papercrafts/newestpapercraft.htm

External ink reservoirs hooked up to the printer heads inside (it's a little more complicated than it sounds, have an export do it). This way, you can easily re-fill the ink by just pouring in extra into the reservoirs, even while printing. Beats "cheap" refillable cartridges that you have to mess around with with a syringe and that eventually leak and mess up your printer's inside by about 9 thooouuussaaand times. ;)

I would love to know how anon rigged that up

Unfortunately, it's not as easy as having four reservoirs, and just run tubes from them to the inside of your printer where the ink is supposed to come out: have an expert do it (not an export lol)

Get a printer without print heads on the ink cartridges. Then buy cheap generic cartridges for three bux each.

Has anyone used a contimuous ink system - I'm interested in buying but would like more first hand recommendations first. Thanks

inkrepublic.com seemed promising, but I have an epson CX5000 and they only support CX4800 and CX5200. WTF. I'd love to use my printer more, I'd rasterbate something and put it on my wall, not to mention nonstop papercraft

1. Go to a generic ink reseller, like inkQuik
2. find the cheapest cartridges they sell (i get canon bci-24 for $1.09 each)
3. find a printer online that uses that cartridge (i have the canon mp-130 photo printer)
4.???
5. PROFIT!!!!

Also, I use the ink bulking systems at work, and they suck. they get clogged all the time with dried ink if you don't use it a LOT, every single day.

I'm a bastard. I work for the government, so I print them off on the colour laser printer the exhibition and design department uses :D
