Actually, with option 1 chance is pretty big while glueing, the top and bottom will move a little, so the top and bottom will stick out a little in the end (it happens). And with option 2, chance is pretty big the top and bottom will sink to deep down so the sides will stick out a little (it happens as well).
Option 3 is the best: alternating tabs, so you have no trouble aligning the parts (you can't go wrong since they hook together automatically) and the resulting bond is very strong as well.
