Zigzagoon Papercrafts? Anon77393
Anyone here on /po/ have any Zigzagoon papercrafts? I've been looking a bit, no luck.

Image kinda unrelated

*bump* Does anyone at all have any plans?

Or does anyone know how I can make my own papercrafts? I know it's something to do with a program called Pepakura or something

I never designed a papercraft before, but this one looks doable. A general cone for the head, but not so pointy.. legs would be easy.. then the body and tail is the easiest part, just cut layers of zigzags and fashion it all into a cylinder :D

I've done some papercraft templates by hand using Photoshop, or just pen and paper before, and this one is doable, like POdragon said. For a general starting point on pokemon, I usually use the papercraft from yu77p pokepera's site. Here's an example of one whose feathers remind me a bit of zigzagoon. The round body on this template should probably be lengthened for zigzagoon, but other than that it would work nicely as a base. I'll post this and then try to sketch out a general pattern of what you might be able to do to make this.

Here's the sketch to help with creating one.

There are two ways to make papercrafts that I commonly see here. One is to create and texture a 3D model and import it into Pepakura Designer. Pepakura Viewer allows you to view .pdo files, and Pepakura Designer allows you to create them. The viewer is free, but the designer costs $30 or so, if you don't go and get the most recent hack off of rapidsearch.yi.org. It's currently on this page:
http://rapidsearch.yi.org/?from=po&limit=50&offset=100
Metasequoia is the 3D Modeler that works the best with Pepakura Designer, but there's no instruction manual for it in English. There's a Japanese and an English version of the program. The files from most 3D modeling programs have the tendency of losing their textures when they get imported into Pepakura, but Metasequoia doesn't seem to have this problem. I remember hearing someone say here that Tamasoft, the company that owns Pepakura, has even started advertising Metasequoia as a 3D modeler of choice.

There's also the form of just doing this by hand on paper or a computer aided drawing program, and that one would work best for this papercraft. If you want a CAD program that's better than MSPaint and you don't have Photoshop or Paintshop, then download GIMP. It's free.

Thanks for the sketch, Anonymous 60867!

I just need to know if there's any way that Google Sketchup 6.0.312 files can be used in Pepakura Designer 2.1.5, so that I don't waste any effort
>> Anonymous
is you save a sketchup model (.skp) as a google earth 4 file (.kmz) you can pepakura it
>> 77393
Thanks - I'll get to work in sketchup then

OK, I'm almost finished. I just need to finish off the jagged fur on the 6th page of the template and the papercraft should be ready after that. 'course, I'll need to test it and make instructions first
