how do you calculate a cut through a cylinder? Anonymous
if you unwrap a cylinder, how do you figure out where a straight cut through the cylinder would be? it's not straight when you unwrap the cylinder. is there like... a tool you use or something? maybe some templates for different angles?

I'm wanting to suspend some disks in a clear cylinder at an angle, and I figure it will look best if I rest them on top of the cylinder and obscure the cuts by having them only where the coin is, as opposed to this official packaging where they're... I think straight upright, with tabs cut in the clear middle sheet, and clear tape used.

Remember that a cylinder is a cone with the same top and bottom diameter.
