>>23274 If you cut up a polygonal sphere "by layer", you'll see that it almost unfolds in cones (without the top), each with a larger/smaller diameter. Again, if you smoothen out the curves and don't fold, but roll, you can get some pretty good non-polygonal spheres... These methods aren't really scientific/mathematical (those methods exist too) but since papercraft always allows for a small margin of error, this method works fine.
This is just a method that I wanted to share with you all, maybe some of you will find it useful. I'm not saying I don't like the mushroom here, because I do: it has a big advantage over a "perfect" sphere, and that is that this one will be very easy to build for everybody that wants too, and as I understand, that's the whole idea.
