So, /po/, what do you think of your hobby? Is it a talent, a skill, or a task any theoretical monkey with fine motor skills could accomplish?

Picture unrelated.

Personally, I just call it a hobby. I don't call it a talent, because anyone can do it, and I don't call it a skill because I am not a professional and therefore it serves no practical use.

I also regard papercraft as a hobby. But I think it requires a certain amount of skill to make the more complicated models.

Professional use. Fast prototyping. Surprised the shit out of my supervisor. Fuck Boeing.

I'd really appreciate an explanation of the process you used.

Did simply make a model and made it in paper, or did you go a step further and use the paper model as a mold of some sort?

It's more than one thing. It's a hobby to those who simply build them, because lets face it, even the most complicated models can be made by newbies with patience. It's a talent to those who can whip these things together super fast, or can do it without instructions (good spacial processing abilities of the mind). It's a skill when someone uses it to gain an edge in the job market by say, prototyping like>>177000
so it really depends on your take
