There is abundant reference information that flooded across the web during most of 2007. I seriously doubt each part was cut out "perfect" the first time. This sort of work involves trimming and adjusting throughout the build, and sometimes removing parts to be recreated.
Scratchbuilding like this usually leaves the creator knowing there are flaws but "not worth the effort" to remove 1/4 of the model and rebuild. I can see several parts that could be improved, but by the time I got this far I'd be bored with the model too.
