if you know the dimensions of the card, then just buy a boxcutter (the type with a larger blade), take a piece of discarded cardboard (or buy some) and the just measure it out and cut it, using preferably a metal ruler as support.

I dunno... That would be so obvious...
Maybe he meant to make one exactly as the real thing, with all the dimensions, nooks and crannys?
But that would be a bit much for just someone that wants to check the size?
Also, aren't the sizes pretty standard? If you're not sure, ask someone in a computer shop how to go about buying stuff like this and explain what you're worried about. They'll be able to help you better than /po/, unless you just want a papercraft of the thing and the rest is just BS.

lol, i actually meant a mix between the two, i wanted some depth to the card, but not all the nook and crannies. More of a piece that had the built up part built up, but i never thought of asking the ppl at a comp store xD thanks :P i wont need the papercraft now

You serious? lol
If you want to get a rough idea, you could just "layer" pieces of cardboard on top of each other, but asking people who make a living on selling stuff like this is probably a better way to go.

Yeah graphics cards are pretty Motherboard and case specific

If you can take in your motherboard manual and if there was ever any documentation that came with your computer that suggest GC to buy. I'd probably just take the whole case in if I didnt have any extra information to give.

You can't just buy what looks nice and jam it in, it has to be certain specifications and compatibility with your hardware/software
