A couple of years ago when I was digging around in my dad's study I found a kit for a working papercraft pendulum clock, fully mechanical, with paper gears and everything. From what I remember it's pretty damn complicated. If there's a lot of interest on /po/ I'll dig through the stacks of paper in our study and scan it and upload it.
oh .. and pic only kind of related
do want.
>>56776Yes! Yes! If this is the one that /po/ has been lusting after for the last few eternities then please post. I can arrange favors... you know the kind im talking about...
DO WANT! :)
Yessir, bring it on!
is your paperclock different thatn the one that can be bought in a book?
There are at least two such paper clock kits I know of - one that's a book that's oooold, and a couple from Wrebbit that are out-of-print and/or hideously expensive. I think I might have the book around somewhere; you can see the Wrebbit stuff at http://wonderclub.com/puzzles/wrebbit/3dcreations/medeival_clock.html and http://www.bealltool.com/clockforum/viewtopic.php?p=286
Want.
DO WANT!
I guess I'll start looking for it then
>>56982oops, wrong tripcode.^_^
>>56926Here's the book I have: http://www.amazon.com/dp/0060910666/The reviews are somewhat amusing. Also, in the author's note the guy mentions that he more-or-less redid everything out of a book _he_ found in 1947.
>>57328I managed to find my copy of the book; does anybody want me to actually scan the thing?
>>57388Yes please!
SCAN IT OR GTFO AND GO BECOME AN HERO
>>57388Yes, that would be very nice of you.
Remove each page from the binding when you scan, so the scans are flat! No point in making a warped clock that doesnt work!!!
>>57452It's a paperback made out of cardboard; I'm going to have to hand-scan all the damn pages as it is instead of using the sheetfeeder.
Well, here y'all go, assuming the pdf uploads correctly.
>>57499I don't know if I'm right to pick at this, but a lot of the parts are going off of the pages.
>>57500Only two, and those are the ones that are given pages of their own.
>>57500I thought that at first too, but if you look at each page you will see that the pages will pieces going off the edges are scaned several times, at different angles to get one of each part in full.
>>57503>>57504Oh, I see. Thanks for clearing that up.
>>57499Thanks much! Would paper be sufficient to support the clock? Otherwise, what should I use?
