There's quite a bit of tough shaping on this one. Note the cockpits. Engines aren't all that bad. I'm gonna limit the number of tabs a bit, so there's not 50,000 per part to cut out. And, since I'm laying it out in CAD, parts fit tolerance will be very high compared to most models you've done. I was working on a Tydirium Shuttle, had the 1 piece skin on my test model wrap perfectly around the interior bulkheads, bent at exactly the right locations. Same will be on this. The engines are mostly a series of cones, but they will be scored into small triangles as seen in the pic. Score lines will be barely visible on final print, so they shouldn't be visible on the final model. This is certainly no unfolded skin of a 3D model either. It's built up in a sensible way, with interior parts that help align and form the outside.
What you think of the subject? Anybody want this as bad as I do?
