bumping this, specially the star textured sphere

the star sphere is modular?
I really need some modular pieces

Not modular.
Each of those are folded from one piece of paper.
Plus the star texture is not a sphere.

I saw a site on this and it is modular. Each twist is an individual piece of paper and they're held together by threading them into each other.

What's freaky is that, although you CAN do the orange one modularly, you can ALSO do it in one sheet... if you have a crazy large sheet, too much free time on your hands, and the patience of a god.

The question remains, is it worth it? I have a pattern to create a 12-sided die out of one sheet of paper somewhere. I don't use it; I make 12 modular units instead. Less overall work, and I can use 20 different colors.

that would be quite annoying though...
but I still think it looks spherical

The sphere thing is Ron Resch's thing.

See the pdf, and look up his name, on flickr or something.
