Yeah photo paper will crack and tear, wear out along the edges. If you're looking for a glossy finish use a spray can lacquer.

Yeah, photo paper sucks.I used to use it,but the glue didn't stck very well and it fell apart.

Can someone PLEASE make a thread for papercraft newbies with tips for what paper/glue etc to use, and sticky it.

If they bothered looking further than the first post they'd realise there's someone asking this at least once a day.

I'd do it but I use normal printer paper and cheapo glue you probably only get in my country.
>> MATTE is fine too Anonymous
MATTE photopaper is fine; it's particularly good if you use the sort that matches your printer - Epson Stylus printers have pre-settings for matte. I'm in the UK, so I use 160 gsm, but you can get 230gsm I think.

I found ***MATTE*** photopaper of better construction that the Card-stock I could get in the local craft shops. Cuts are cleaner, the ink takes to it well and so it should if you're using paper designed for your printer.

It glues excellently as well.

Don't use the glossy, the glossy is shit, as the rest of the thread says. To repeat for their benefit, MATTE photopaper IS NOT gloss. MATTE photopaper is like high-quality card.

We can't sticky threads. So we just repeat it everytime to help out noobs.
Unnecessary, true, because it's all a matter of taste. Most people use cardstock at least twice as thick as normal paper, and for the glue people there's even a wider variety.
In the end, you'll find stuff that works best for YOU, and others might disagree. So what.
You use regular paper and cheapo glue that they probably only sell in your country; if it works, it works.

What kind of spray could you use to seal it that won't make it bleed. I've been too terrified to try anything out.

Build a hako or something else easy that you can make in like 5 minutes, and experiment on that before trying it out on your better papercrafts.
