Hey, /po/, I have a question:

What substance do you use to put your models together?

Pic is a papercraft I made last year.
>> Nova Greensocks
Glue-wise? 'Cause I never use anything BUT tacky glue [in small/thin portions, of course]

Yes, I meant glue-wise. Thanks.

I use straight up Elmers Glue-All.

Did you know that it dries clear?

I don't believe you.

Oh it dries clear, but if you happen to smudge the smallest ammount on the printed paper and not wipe your fingers off often while you work it leaves a nasty permanent mark.

I've used super glue and wood glue. The wood glue seemed to work better, the super glue dried before I could get two tabs together.

another for the wood glue brigade here too

i use aleenes quick dry tacky glue which you can get an 8 oz. bottle from wal-mart for about 8 bucks (silver bottle not gold) i also use superglue on seams like a weld bead for heavy parts

here's a pic of the glue bottle, also if you use superglue make sure you have a shitload of these precise applicator tips

Evo-Stik wood glue is STRONGER THAN THE WOOD ITSELF.

was the papercraft meant to be printed? because if so, it would've been better if the background (meaning the parts of the page that are not part of the papercraft itself) would've remained white. That way, you'll save loads of ink=money.

I swear by white glue. I have built 15 page models using it, and they are standing just fine. I have tried super glue, and it will work, but make sure that it doesn't use an alcohol solvent base. The paper will absorb the base and the glue won't tack.

(pic unrelated but I built one using Elmer's white glue)

aleene's is a white glue like elmers it just sets up 4x as fast

You're right about that (The file is for printing, and most of that ink would be wasted), but I was designing the papercraft hastily, and I haven't found my source file (a GIMP XCF, if anyone cares). I guess I could clean up the PNG.

the apple of discord. "Kallisti" means "to the fairest" in ancient greek. the goddess of discord, eris, threw it into the wedding of peleus and thetis because she wasn't invited. Paris gave it to Aphrodite because she was hotter than everyone else, and in return, she gave Paris the rights to the love of the most beautiful woman on earth, A.K.A. Helen , the wife of a greek king. paris took her and her husband declared war on Troy, causing the Trojan War.
an "apple of discord" is something that aseems small, but is in fact the cause of another great and particularly important event.

They knew about them after apples were taken out of Kazakhstan around 8,000BC.

That's it for today's history lesson kiddies!

Oh! And Slim Jims! They had Slim Jims too.

Anyone notice it's a composite unit of pentagons?

Law of Fives, Aneristic Pentagon, etc.

HAIL ERIS!

OP here.
I made it a dodecahedron because those are made of pentagons. Yup.

Also, shameless bump.

Also, I first posted this at the poee.co.uk forums. Discordian and Fake Discordian /po/sters might profit from checking it out.
