Beacon's 3-in-1 Advanced Craft Glue Pros: - Sets extremely fast (within 3-5 seconds) - Strong Hold - Great for tabs 1/4" to 1/2" in length
Cons: - Unforgiving; too fast, too strong, so it's hard to move pieces around once they are joined together - Stringy; one reason why I use only for smaller tabs, larger blobs produce annoying 'strings' after dispensing out of nozzle - Smelly - Glue crap all over fingers requires rigorous washing (almost need orange scrub stuff) - Pricey ($6 bottle)
Note: I dispense this directly from the nozzle to the pieces I'm gluing; it helps reduce stringiness and saves a little bit of time before glue 'sets'.
Office Depot Glue Pen Pros: - Great for tabs over 1/2" in length - Forgiving; able to shift pieces easily before glue sets - Cheap (2 Pack less than $3)
Cons: - Watery; may warp cardstock pieces if too much used - Set time takes long (5-15 seconds while pressing together) - Not great on tabs less than 1/2" in length; pieces don't seem to join at smaller lengths
Note: I dispense a blob of the office depot glue onto a spare piece of card stock, then I use a toothpick to pick up the glue to apply to the various pieces.
