Hey /p/

I just bought this Flash (SIGMA EF-530 DG ST)
for my 350d
and I need help understanding it, I have tried googling for info what everything on it stands for etc and if it has a wireless slave flash mode or not..

I know what Manual-high and Manual-low is good for, but TTL I have no idea.

and what does 24 28 35 50 70 105 stand for? it's always 50 that lights up

sorry for asking these questions but I'm pretty new using these kind of flashes

TTL is Through-The-Lens metering. Dunno if that flash uses the same E-TTL II system that Canon uses though.

And I believe those numbers are the "guide numbers" for your flash. It's for flash intensity.

I'm sorry I don't know what that stands for

oh ok, thank you!

also in what situations is the flap thing on top of the flash good for? does it give a softer light?

TTL, ETTL, ETTL II, ITTL = automatic flash

24 28 35 50 70 105 is the flash head zooming to a specific focal length for your lens, only works when you're firing it head on = fail

flap = catchlight/bounce card

thank you for the link consider it bookmarked, I shall try and understand canon's brilliant flash system

the reason I need help with this is because tomorrow I have SEVEN photoshoots with different companies and I'm the only guy available.. I'm not that nervous though because I have taken photos for quite some time, I'm just a little confused with my new flash but I think I have most of it down now. thanks everyone
