The original 4 x 6-ft photograph of Mother and Child consists of neither computer pixels nor grains of silver halide, but blades of a new grass variety created with the help of hyperspectral imaging. © Heather Ackroyd and Dan Harvey/Santa Barbara Museum of Art, 1998.[7]

Sounds interesting and it can give some freaky effects, but pointless for most folk. The advertising industry will love it though.

I'd say it's not really the original photo if they copy an image from a negative they took with a camera onto it.

This guy from my school prints on leaves and other plants. I think he's the first to do so. At least that's what I was told.

I think the point he was making is that the description in the OP post could be read as implying that the grass was the medium of the photograph (I.e., akin to the film or the CMOS sensor) rather than a print of a photograph.

Nope, but you've still not learned manners so you still don't deserve an answer. Try leaving your basement to learn some social skills and get back in touch.

Mr Magritte... how good to see you!

That was it. I was hoping to see he'd used that as a negative or sensor, which is how it come across at first. Taking original photos is done with the film or sensor for me. I can't imagine taking someone else's work and then claiming I had made an original photo when all I had done is made a copy of it with a printer or something.

He just puts a positive transparency over a leaf or some grass, sandwiches it between some glass, and leaves it in the sun for a few days. It's really easy to do.
