lost power for a few days after hurricane gustav and had to find ways to fight boredom. this was what i came up with. c&c away.

Would've been great if Harry Potter was either nonexistant or a more "timeless" book such as a large, leather-bound copy of War and Peace.

You may want to look into lowering the brightness of the candles; while they add contrast, they are a bit too bright for the scene.

Composition is very good on this, the slant of the table is well placed. One small thing to note is that the cutoff of the left candle's shadow is not ideal- try to look for things like that next time.

It might just be me, but I find still-lifes like this really boring.
