i have a new guidelines

dont believe that you need the soft lens that many claim "oh the sharp lenses are too revealing of flaws" nonsense!

if the subject looks bored dont take a pic, or the image will prabably suck.

dont be afraid to get close, instead of 90mm or whatever switch to a 50 and get closer. i use a 28 with success. at least i dont have to shout!

50mm Lens are cool but you'll be taking more half body/face shots than full body environment shots. I'm a firm believer that 50mm Prime lens will make you a more social Photographer but you'll have less candid shots. A longer Telephoto rocks in regards to candidness of people and animals.

25mm is fantastic for full body with environment shots.
