The lighting here makes the surface on the faucets grittier than it might not necessarily be. But that's the only real interesting thing about them, so it's a good thing. What type of light source did you use here?

The light source was a regular old flash extention I put on top of my camera. Yes, on the second picture, the specular of the strong light makes the texture stand out more than it does in real life, which Is why I love that picture.

It was also in a square, metal sink. So the light bounced all around the sink and faded some of the harsh drop shadows you get from a flash that sits on top of your camera.
