A 75mm equivalent in my experience is not the crazy-versatile lens it's made out to be; I think a lot of its reputation comes from everyone cashing in on the thrifty-fifty thing to get their medium teles. I've always found the classic ~90 to be best for most things.
OTOH, I do think it is the perfect workhorse length for shooting concerts, speeches, etc. For some weird reason, no matter what angle or distance I'm at, it seems to work to get good shots. Obviously they'll be different, but they'll always work as well as I can make them.
Just my experience, could be entirely idiosyncratic, and obviously if you're on a really tight budget the existence of a fast medium tele at any length for $110 is a great thing.
As for another lens, a 35 like a guy said or a 28. IIRC 28/2.8s are usually the second-cheapest lens in the lineup, and (again, more subjectivity) 42mm equivalent is a nicer normal to shoot with than ~50mm equivalent. And for what it's worth, it's pretty much the "perfect normal" of the diagonal of the sensor that looks the closest like human sight.
