Heh, love the picture.

I haven't done anything as detrimental as screwing up an assignment, but I did completely wreck the setup for a panorama by not keeping in mind the laws of perspective - taking shots off the water tower in the middle of town and didn't even think about the change of perspective of near objects caused by moving around the fenced edge of the tower.

I had a guy came into my store one day telling me about how he fried his memory card by taking pictures of the sun. He was serious as shit and was tearing us apart for selling faulty memory cards, saying that we should have let him know about the issue before we sold him the card.

You'd have to be pretty incompetent for that to happen, as the rewind crank handle has to turn if you advance the film. If it does not -> Not loaded. I usually have my fingers close to the crank so I can feel the wheel turn against my fingers.

For my project, we had to do an 8x10 at center. We only get one shot to develop this print right because it is supposed to be a 'test under pressure' meaning I went to a cheapass school. Apparently someone dropped the paper I used on the dark room floor, and put it back in the dark box. They left a big fuckin footprint of fixer across it. C-

Anybody who ever really worked in a darkroom knows that what we do in photoshop isn't all that different from the standard tricks used during printing.

Also, digital necessitates color tweaks. We don't have the ability to choose film like we once did, so we have to simulate stuff like Velvia, and setting an absolutely perfect white balance is very difficult on many cameras without a good range of manual K settings, and even with them, it's impossible to perfectly judge WB on the tiny screen, as well as to adjust constantly from shot to shot when we're pressed for time.

What 283793 means is that there should be a zoom function in your camera's playback functions.

E.g. on my camera I can take a picture and press the + button to zoom in straight away and check that the picture is sharp, and if it isn't I just press the shutter button down halfway to clear the screen and exit playback, and take another shot.
