It makes original images, because only a fraction of the people that take photographs actually follow this rule.
As MY rule, I look at the photo, and try to see it as being sold as stock photography. Where you would put some sort of caption next to the subject to make it more interesting. You can't do that with this image.
The KEY for a stock photo, is that it has to be interesting and that's what the ROT DOES.
We're giving advice and constructive criticism, because we can actually GO OUT and TAKE these photos. This forums has no place for armchair photographers.
Go out and take a few photos yourself, then LOOK at them, and see which one's are more interesting and engaging. I guarantee you that more than 75% of the GOOD photos use negative space, the ROT, Dutch Angles, etc...
