Hey /p/,

I found an Olympus M-1 on craigslist for $120 with two extra lenses, and other things. It's on working condition.

Is it a good deal?

If it's an "M-1," you're extremely lucky. Only a few hundred (or something like that) M-1s were made before Leica bitched and Olympus had to change it to "OM-1." So they're expensive collectors' items now.

If it's an "OM-1," then it's still a good price for probably some good lenses and a candidate for best 135-film SLR ever made.

Wow, I didn't know that. I'm buying it now.

it depends on the lenses.

while the m-1 is a collectable, it was not a 'few hundred' that were made, its not as rare as this guy is saying.

that said, 120 is decent for an om-1+lenses, and i'm sure the m-1 is worth it too, since they're the same, basically.

plus, you'll get to have an m-1, which is neat.

but if the lenses are not zuikos, i'd try to get the price knocked down to 50-70, skip the lenses and buy some zuiko primes on ebay.

I remember that the lenses are zuikos, at least one of them.

i say go for it. it's a great system to get into.
great, small cameras, great lenses, cheap, nice and sturdy.

120 is what i paid for my om2n at a camera store-- i probably should have gone on ebay and got one for 50 bucks but my old one broke, and i was desperate for a new one quick.

since yours is coming with lenses, and its an m-1 which is somewhat rare, JUMP ON IT.
