ITT people who took their foreign relations lessons from /k/.
Nukes are almost an irrelevancy for the major world powers today. Nuclear weapons are useful in three situations:
1. Equally matched sides facing M.A.D., ala the Cold War (NATO vs. Warsaw Pact) or in Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four (the three superstates).
2. An otherwise weak state or group going for broke against a much more powerful state.
3. An otherwise weak state ruled by some tinheaded oligarch(s) looking to freak the shit out of more powerful states to get them to the negotiating table to get stuff out of them.
Why? Think about it. What would seriously happen if the United States, the United Kingdom, Israel, Russia, or any of the other nuclear powers used one tomorrow? Simple. They'd become an international pariah, seen as monsters and war criminals, and possibly even face a civil crisis at home.
Any state they would be using it against would be less than equally matched, unless someone went insane and took a major world power to war against another allied major world power, because, protip, all the most powerful states in the world are to one extent or another allies and trade partners.
TL;DR read some actual stuff about foreign relations and realize the world is much more complicated than who can win penis contents.
Oh, and it's "football."
