Good /p/,

I feel like lately I haven't been taking pictures that are as interesting / good as I used too. I'm trying to figure out if my current photographic abilities are shitty, or if maybe I need to try some other lenses / equipment.

Pic from my latest set. Should I work on photographic skill or is my kit lens holding me back?

Everybody goes thorough phases with their photography. You can always take a break from it for a little while.

Also, it's definitely you. While kit lenses are generally not very good, they will not make you take boring, uninspired pictures.

if you feel less creative than you used to then take a break
breaks are healthy! i go on breaks that sometimes last up to 3 months
don't make yourself hate what you love
(and no, not the lens. i enjoyed using it for a long time.. replaced it with 10-22mm a few days ago)

I've always found that trying something new helps. Go buy yourself a cheap film camera or something and take it out for a spin.
