Sup, /p/?

Anyone have any experience with Promaster lenses? Thinking of getting a promaster 17-50mm f/2.8 instead of a Canon 17-55mm f/2.8 to save myself a few hundred bucks. Is it really worth it?

Sells in the shop for around $575, I think. Don't know how much Tamron sells theirs for $420 (B&H). So looks like I'd probably be better off with the Tamron

I have the promaster version of this lens. It's exactly the same glass and build as the Tamron lens, it just has a different grip (that I like better, as it turns out). Oh, it also has a lifetime warranty, which is superior to the Tamron's 2 or 3 year, whatever it was.

Plus, you too can be a Promaster.

Yeah, it's optically fabulous on any mount.

Jesus. I think I had a little too much to drink tonight. I didn't know at first but decided to look it up and forgot to change what I was originally writing.

Okay, So I found out I got the price wrong. It was actually $475 at the shop. The price is right, but I gotta find some good examples of it in action.
