GET

Do you actually know how to use all this stuff? I suspect if you did you wouldn't be here asking us which ones to get. You should go with what you have now and learn how to use it all then figure out what else you need.

it seems you cant even properly focus your camera, so no.

I have figured out that bit now.

Yeah i know, was just thinking of p's oppinion on the less expensive bits that are worth getting.

A red filter can be done with photoshop so no need to buy one. The flash on your camera should be fine until you learn how to use flash effectively. A cheap tripod is not worth buying IMO. Wait until you can afford a nice Bogen/Manfrotto or something similar that can actually hold the weight of an SLR with a telephoto lens.

Just because you can afford the shot doesn't mean you're able to do so. As is with porn and hookers. You may get to buy the girl, but you're not Peter North.

really, everyone i know always says to shoot b&w on the camera so getting a real filter is better.

I got all of it for the price of the body+lense in england...

Everyone you know is wrong.

The best way to do B&W with a digital--and the way all pros I've ever heard of do it--is to shoot in color and convert to B&W later. Gives you a lot more control over the B&W that you get.

1. Only polarizers, ND filters if something's going to get blown out, star filters (?) and one or two other speciality type filters can't be approximated in PS. Soft focus filters, I understand, are still best to screw on the lens, though the effect can be simulated (but not duplicated exactly) in PS. Opinions I've heard are divided as to whether or not graduated ND is best used on camera or simulated in PS.

2. Ansel Adams -explicitly stated- in one of his books that he would be "eager" to work with the "electronic image," which he was thinking about in the early 1980s before "DSLR" would be anything more than the way a Jamaican would specify a single lens reflex camera.

I think you're asking three questions here. Your English is a little choppy, so forgive me any errors in understanding you.

1. The ISO is how sensitive a film or digital sensor is to light. It lets more light be recorded. Bigger ISO numbers have the effect of having more noise or grain, the little specks or colored dots you see on photographs.

2. If you're shooting film, you need to use black and white film, yes. If you're shooting digital, you need to use Adobe Photoshop or some similar software to convert it.

3. I'm not an expert on film black and white filter photography. Someone else here would be able to give you more information on that front. Another idea would be to go to your library and find a book on photography.

I don't understand what point you're trying to make. I don't see how Ansel Adams--who died before digital cameras got to the point where they were worth a damn--has any bearing on a discussion of the best way to shoot black and white pictures with a digital camera...

On graduated NDs: they can be simulated in photoshop, but in a way opposite of how a real ND filter works - we underexpose the image and then lighten some areas of it. So basically the resulting image may be the same, but when using a real filter, we have to use longer exposure, and when using a simulated one, we get more noise in some areas of the picture (similar to the effect of "Fill Light" in ACR and Nikon's D-Lighting technology, which is the same)

I've got an A100 and I'm perfectly happy with the kit lens. The only accessories I have are a polariser, R72 and a tripod.

A nice tripod would be good, I use mine for long night exposures.
