Hi /P/

ITT: would it be worth me getting this?

Or am I wasting a lot of money just because 10x optical zoom?!

Doesn't look too bad, but I was too lazy to read the whole review.

What do you want to use it for?

It has no manual controls, so it isn't suited for serious photography. But if you're just a casual snapshooter, it should fit you well.

Basically photographing sources/final pieces for Art/Design/Fashion/Architecture. I'm not doing photography/anything film based so I've avoided manual controls. Looking for a camera to last the whole of University ideally

If you're shooting anything other than happy-snaps you want/need more control over the exposure than an automatic point-and-shoot will give you. Especially when you're going to use the images for your uni course.

Could you recommend anything else then? In a similar price range.

A Canon S3IS ($300 from Amazon) or the aforementioned Fuji s5700.
