Silver trees reflect IR, Charcoal ones don't. Makes a creepy IR scene.

There was a hillclimb I stopped at shortly before making the trip. I didn't feel like hiking to the good spots so nothing better than this.

Though I did put my D70 (IR) on the ground and triggered it from a safe distance.
Track marshal's warned me it could get broken, but I did it anyway lol.

Last one, TONS of stitching errors here. but I really wanted this to turn out. So I edited a few errors and just left the rest in. Anyway I like it, may do it again later. Might actually have to use a tripod :(

AND i'm spent! C&C or just comments is cool

What the hell dude... THIS IS A PHOTODUMP FROM 1 DAY???
anyway...

>>185107
This one almost appeared really shitty, until I scrolled down and noticed the little plants at the bottom. Totally makes this photo very awesome. Adds a lot of meaning to it.
>>185108
Doesn't do anything for me
>>185110
Very nice, I love how the blue sort of fades near the top.. and the texture of the tree near the front is awesome, well shot!
>>185111
Not bad, but doesn't hold my interest long
>>185113
Beautiful, some really nice patterns going on here.. very organic looking. Beautifully shot, love it
>>185116
I'd frame this on my wall. Fucking amazing shot, I could go on about every little thing I like about it.. Suffice to say this is the best non pano image of you I've ever seen
>>185118
No, looks way too typical/generic. Seen this shot way too many times for it to be interesting
>>185122
Much better than the one before, but not great.. I'm not one for car shots unless they look incredibly unique (which is hard to do)
>>185126
Brown tint kills it for me, alright shot overall
>>185127
Awesome awesome awesome, you're a master at both IR and pano work. Love it
>>185128
Oh wow.. I love the fade/transition here. The left side almost seems too bright though. It's not blown out, but it's too distracting. Maybe tone it down a tiny bit in PP?
>>185129
Brilliant, very clean.. great patterns
>>185130
Again, awesome pano shot. The flare kinda kills the darker areas on the left side of the image, but that's hard to avoid
>>185133
IMO you need to crop the ground (bottom) off here. I scrolled so it wasn't visible and I really liked what I saw. (this may be my very subjective opinion though)

Christ, Vincent... The best photodump I've seen on /p/ in months.
Now could you pretty please critique my thread? : D
I could really use your critique
>> Vincent !!8LCSE0Zp1mL
>>185140
Thanks man! I totally see what you mean about the Vertical pano now. I originally had more ground at the top but I fucked up the last shot and it was all blurry.
makes sense to balance it out.

And ya it was one day, a REALLY long day, left the house at 10:30 got home at 8:00, I was either driving or taking pictures, hence all the keepers!

Also I'll check out your thread now! I've been editing for the better part of today, so I just kind of glanced on here until now!
>> beethy !HJGkSBB3Ao
>>185159
Hey, can I ask how many pictures you took total on a day like this?
>> Vincent !!8LCSE0Zp1mL
>>185183
Sure

158 IR
275 Regular light
6 IR Pano's (Roughly 75 shots total)
6 Regular Light Pano's (roughly 90 shots total)

much win detected in these photos, well done :D
i personally lol'ed at beethy choice on which he would frame(the one looking down onto the town) as i though that one was the generic boring shot, just didnt do it for me.
as for the rest... :D

>>185113
this one messes with me :S looks like your looking down into a shallow hole, but the waters flowing down/over/across it which means its upright but it just seems like it should be on the ground?
>> Anonymous
your pano's are amazing

what mm do you shoot at? and what program do you use for stitching? any general tips for pano?

thanks in advance
>> Vincent !!8LCSE0Zp1mL
>>185198
Thanks, Today was a bit odd for focal length, I mostly shoot at 10-15mm. However the HDR and the second IR pano was shot at 30 and 60mm

Can someone post the screencap of my advice thread? I don't have it actually.

Thank god Vincent actually takes pictures that look good, instead of shopping to shit.

There's the screencap.

I fucking love this shit. Except for the car shots. They don't appeal to me AT ALL.

I really really love the rest. Really inspiring, especially for a starter like myself.

Thanks!

boring, but the area has potential
different vantage point +that o so delicious post storm light and clouds would make for some interesting stuff

>>185127
crop off that rather hot area on the left and this will most excellent

>>185128
left is rather blown from the sun try a adjustment layer with a gradient mask to remedy? would be a serious pain but other it is good

.>>185129
Vaguely interesting because of the sky, would great with a single subject

>>185130
good but your foreground is washed out

>>185122

>>185127
This too, but I'm a sucker for well-done IR.

>>185133
Good composition, don't think I've seen a stitch like this before.

>>185126
Would prefer to see this in cooler tones.

>>185116
I wish the crop didn't stop at the top, but kept going ... it has a nice, layered look going for it.
>> Vincent !!8LCSE0Zp1mL
>>185907
IR = modified D70, same thing can be achieved by slapping a R72 in front of any digital camera lens and shooting manually (And much slower than a modified camera)

>>185911
Ya was my manual focus macro 105mm lens, I wanted to keep more in the top but hey, the trees at the bottom were more important to me!
>> $19.99 !OSYhGye6hY
>>185107
It's pretty incredible how you make trees look this interesting. Everytime i take a forest walk with my camera, I can never get anything that i like.

>>185127

These are pretty awesome trees however. Its almost cheating :)
