Fuck yeah. Old slides are win.

uhh, why did you filter all the grain, but left all the dust?
>> ac !!VPzQAxYPAMA

The question is more "Why did I bother to turn on grain correction in my scanner software?"

I was scanning these for my mother to use as photo references for painting, not for high quality reproduction. And she gave me fuckin' boxes of the things, so time-per-slide was a major factor.

(Also, I don't know that my scanner's dust/scratch removal would have worked, since these were Kodachrome slides)

(The answer, if you're curious, is that I forgot to turn grain correction off. I would have if I'd thought about it)

That's impressive for automated grain correction, actually. Even too impressive - it's so unnaturally smooth that if my ghetto reproduction stand had something like that, I'm not sure if I'd use it.

Well, Kodachrome's not particularly grainy to begin with, and I scanned at pretty low res.

missing the first character, but means to destroy the chinese government... sounds like what falun gong would say.

nice one :D

yea, i took that photo in china town..
i thought the sign read something like
"the best honey chicken in town"

then someone told me what it meant to my surprise
kinda made the photo cooler though
>> thefamilyman !!rTVzm2BgTOa

heh, first character is missing, but second one means to get rid of, or destroy, and the last 2 means the chinese government.
You can see the flag is a blue/green and yellow, normally what the colours falun gong normally use rather than the traditional reds and yellows, also its a popular colour of southern china where the north likes red a lot and most falun gong ppl are normally from Guangzhou.
You can also see their propaganda photos by the girls hands, these photos are normally 15-25 years old as well.

But i do like the photo, its cool i feel~

Hahaha oh wow, my grandfather got really pumped about me digitizing and restoring old slides and gave me FOUR MOTHERFUCKING THOUSANDS of them. I guess I have a job for the next couple months, lol.

Also, thanks to him, I now have cp of myself and of my mom.

Lol no.

But it's funny how the view on children's beach outfits changed in the past years.
1960s:
Elementary school girl in swimming trunks = ok
Elementary school girl in a bikini = ZOMG OBSCENE
2000s:
Elementary school girl in a bikini = ok
Elementary school in swimming trunks = ZOMG CP

Have some more communism.
