Hey /p/. I am doing a stop action photography project for a class. I would like to know if any one has any great ideas. I have to take two rolls, and I am using 3200 film with a shutter speed of 1000/1. It is also in black and white. My first roll was paint-balls hitting a book, which cliche enough, was my textbook from the class.

Can any one give me a great idea for the second roll? I was thinking of doing jawlers?sp? where someone viciously shakes their head side to side to get a distorted face. But I am cautious now about it. If i use one of the ideas, i will post it. I will be able to post it tonight after i develop the pictures.

pop water balloons

Thats a pretty good idea.
you know what would look good, having a water balloon over a candle so the candle would burst the balloon, thus putting out the flame

Won't work, the water is cooling the ballon so it won't burst until the water is evaporated. But fire is still fun to play around with.

i know the principle you're working on, but for some reason i'm pretty sure you're wrong here. there are many other things to take into account, such as unreacted butane possibly solvated some of the skin of the balloon, the thickness of the skin of the balloon (b/c a thin skin would weaken much faster than a thicker skin), the ability of the water to conduct heat away from the point of being flamed at a sufficient rate to prevent failure, convection currents, etc.

I'm pretty sure it would work, i've seen people burn holes in plastic cups with (filled with water) with cigarette butts. Basically the same thing.

That answers the question about the balloon.

it still depends on other factors. for instance, i dont think that would work if you were to use a cutting torch instead of a candle
