First pic, Second one is too flat lit (on the building).
third and fourth don't look very inviting, since you can see Concrete slabs and fencing (And parking signs) Distracts from the Diner.

The first one you automatically look at the sign, and the kid in the window is a nice touch, Though the building in the background is a bit distracting. Only real improvements would be to stage a more friendly atmosphere IMO, have people entering or leaving the diner while the shot was being taken etc.

that kid was teasing me while i was shooting. he seriously gave me the satan hand thing and stuck his tongue out. i got that in one of my shots, lol.

I couldn't decide between 1 and 2 because the diner itself looks so good in 1 but that damnable building is really distracting. I couldn't find a way to get a non-straight on shot of this place without including something I didn't want like cars, other buildings, newspaper boxes, etc. I don't know if i just lack skill or if i need the wide-angle 50mm lens for my S3.

50mm is extreme telephoto on an S3IS...

well obviously i still don't know what i'm talking about. i'll stop embarassing myself on /p/ one day i swear.

I meant the wide-angle lens that you can get for the the S3. i was pretty sure that there was pretty much a highly limited number of accessories that you can get for the S3 and that there was only one wide-angle lens available. I assumed all the S3 fanboys on /p/ would know what i meant.

I'd recommend against getting the extra-widifier and extra-telefier lens widgets. They'll cost you some image quality for no real benefit that couldn't be achieved with your legs for free.

(Minus, you know, cost of shoes and whatnot...)

you dont need a wider thingamajig or anything. you just need to walk around and find the sweet spot. did you try moving a little closer and to the right of the first pic? you could turn it so the diner takes up the entire frame or whatever so you cant see the building behind it.
