Hi all,
I'm finally going to invest on a slr.
Even though ive been interested in photographing for quite a long time im still pretty much of a noob when it comes to cameras.

Usually i photograph people and events. I believe that a suitable choice for me would be a camera with more features than a point and shoot and possibly the ability to zoom. However i obviously don't need any professional equipment.

Do you have any thoughts about Nikon D60 with a AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm F3.5-5.6G VR lens?

OP here
Seriously i'm not a troll. I thought you guys could help me

there's nothing wrong with it

if you can find a d40 body and get the 18-55 VR separately, it may be cheaper

but if the d60 kit you can find is a good price, then get it

>>234993

Aren't there any notable differences between the two bodies?
>> Anonymous
if it's your first dslr you can't go wrong camera-body-wise
(avoid d40 though)
best thing would be to go to a shop and try different cameras, to see which one gets your preference (every brand as an entry level camera)
also : save up and buy good lenses

It's just we're all tired of threads that could be answered with a few seconds of you utilizing any search engine. THERE'S HUNDREDS OF PHOTO FORUMS OUT THERE. I can guarantee any inane gear question has been so thoroughly explored that there is no real practical purpose of asking /p/. Really, pop open some website like photo.net and use it's fucking search engine instead of asking question that you are either too lazy to find the answer yourself, already know to but are so insecure about your choice you have start thread to reaffirm what everyone else already says, or you're a fucking troll.

Is it better to store a camera with lens attached facing down or up in a camera bag?

OP here

'fast and reliable information'

You're getting a bunch of anonymous people to give you advice on how to spend your money. For all you know you just based your entire opinion on a 12 year old who likes Nikon better because they have party man commercials on television. /p/ is not, and never will be good reliable information.

Get a used D50 instead.

10mm EF-S format versus 12mm FX format.

L2/angle of view, Nikon wins in the of-very-dubious-value race to the widest angle possible contest.

the troll meant 10 MP vs. 12 MP, you idiot

and stick a Sigma 12-24 on a D700/D3/film or 5D/1Ds/film, it will look the same

good job, 4/10
