Hey, /p/
I'm a /co/mrade making his first post here. In the coming weeks I'm going to be going on an house building project in the Philippines (I'm in Sydney, btw) and on this trip I'll be visiting the prisons, including lethal injection chamber, the slums, the high country and really every aspect of Filipino life.

As you can guess, I'm looking for a camera I can take over thats cheap, effective and gives me the ability to take a few memorable shots to be used in either an album, or possibly a digital art piece. Can you guys give me any suggestions?

Canon PowerShot A-series

Anything cheaper? Sorry, I'm sounding like a money hoarding Jew, but I've spent a lot on this trip already haha.

an old Canon PowerShot A-series, the cheapest you can find.

Disposable cameras? Or second hand film cameras?

Holga.

Nikon N-series and Sigma 17-35 2.8-4?

All used obviously but this should run you under $200 and give you good gear you can keep using. Not to mention the ability of using ISO3200 film.

first thing you must know is that decent cameras don't come cheap :(

all the cheap digital ones offer pretty much the same performance as your standard cellphone camera. a good camera is an investment.

I'm sure one of your relatives has a camera you can borrow
