I found a Rebel K2 kit for USD $90 never opened.

Also found a Rebel XT kit for USD $400 never opened.

Anyone tell me why I should get the XT over the K2 other than the cost? or is it like comparing apples and oranges?

i'm fairly new to DSLR's and im lookin for an entry level one that will last me awhile/has good lens selection/good quality.

any help would be appreciated

No you didn't.
You found a Craigslist scam.

Enjoy getting your kneecaps broken when you show up with $400USD in cash.

I found it at Walmart. The manager is a good friend. I can get those prices BECAUSE he is my friend.

From what I've read, they're both decent beginner bodies, although you'd be better with an xti over the xt.
But yeah, one is film the other's digital, huge differences in workflow. Digital generally requires more time and effort because post processing is a necessity, while film, depending on what you shoot, doesn't require the same pp, but you're basically paying per shot, and it's harder to get quality scans, but certain types of film have looks that you either can't get with digital, or require extensive practice to achieve. It's just a matter of which you prefer, in other words.

I'm not that knowledgeable about post processing. Can you give me some beginner/advanced sites to get good ideas on what should be done with photos?
I do have Photoshop CS3. I can probably pirate Lightroom.

but seriously, is $400USD a good deal for a brand new Rebel XT?

400$ for the body only is the price they are going for these days, so he isn't really making you a good price if it's for the body only

it's a kit with one lens i believe. I'll look again when im there again, but I was pretty sure on that part.

did you really think you were getting a dslr for $90

thought it was mispriced, actually.

Big advantage with DIGITAL: DON'T HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR FILM FOR DIFFERENT SCENES(ISO)! You can also change the white balance on the XT(no need to fuss arround with film selection)

hope you like calculating....specially if the flash isn't TTL

You're comparing apples to oranges.
