Can I see this one in color?
>> /p/ i need your help! Anonymous
water takes up far too much of the frame in each photo

also the subjects aren't particularly interesting, nor are the contrasts, the shadows, or the highlights that are impressed upon by your decision to shoot in B&W.

all WAY to dark, i dont know if this is a function of your not exposing correctly or your shooping

this ones ok though

If anyone can refer me to some reading material or give me some tips on landscape compsition, I'd really appreciate it.

I spend all this time going to remote and intersting locations (In this case taking a jeep down several miles of dirt road, then walking about a quarter of a mile through the creek to this location) and I come back with what's essentially crap. I'm trying to capture the beauty and failing.

It's still useful, though.

That sucks but it happens to all of us.

I think with reference to your photos, the first thing that strikes is the b&w. Why are you using black and white? Were the colours of the place not what actually appealed to you in the first place?
Generally when people use b&w its to bring out certain elements of shade, shadow, highlights, or texture that would be lost in a colour photo.
The actual point of the photos is lost on me - you like water? they do have a nice old feel to them though

Well there wasn't alot of color in the pictures to begin with because of the time of day and the lack of sunlight. Since color really wasn't a strong element...

And B&W was suggested to me as a beginner to better learn composition and lighting.

Plus you know, it's insta-art. It makes me dark, mysterious and brooding. :p
