Point and shoot.

Macro means it focuses closer than normal, so that very small objects fill the frame. See attached (generic flower) photo. Macro mode on your camera tells it to focus closer, and usually effects a few other things, like the flash. Your manual should have details.
I like the color in your shot, and the lighting could make for an interesting mood, but it doesn't really have anything going for it as is.

Speaking of macro, is there anything the lens does when you press the macro button? Does it just allow a closer focusing distance than usual? I know if tries to keep the aperture as wide as possible in automatic mode.

Also, for actual macro lenses (for SLRs), can you use them as a regular telephoto lens (if they are like 200mm)?

Expanding on what elf was saying, there's your camera's automatic macro mode, and true macro. A true macro shot, often referred to as a 1:1 macro shot is when the object you are shooting is the same size as it actually is on your sensor or film. 2:1 macro is when the subject is twice as big, 1:2 is half as big, you can figure the rest out.

Heh, got it as a beginner camera. And getting it with two lenses was more important to me. I don't like lots of post processing, so basic stuff in gimp is all I need, up to working with a few layers.

That is correct, if you focus further away, it functions like any other lens of that focal length.
