well keep in mind, with dSLR cameras you are not just getting the camera, you are getting all the proprietary lenses and accessories that go with that brand. i say think about what kind of photography you plan / hope to do and buy accordingly. each vendor has their strengths and weaknesses. people hate / love oly and i don't really have an opinion on their lineup of dslr cameras or gear. your best bet is to google lots of the better known cameras out there and to compare and contrast the pros and cons of each camera. try to figure out what camera / lens linup fits you best. you can use a lens for a long long time, a camera's technology will be outdated, the lens will not be affected by technology jumps as much.
