It's kind of stereotypical that an actor would be wearing a black turtleneck. But it works. It's more important for the director to remember someone's face rather than what he/she is wearing. Secondly, I think that the lighting could be more flattering. Something that's akin to your classic Hollywood shot would be great.. a light source shining to emphasize the face and another one placed from the back and angled downwards to highlight some of the hair. You have some of that right now, but not enough, in my opinion.
