Also OP, I think you are too close ot the shell still, Maybe put it about 10-15 inches farther away from you, won't through the background as far out of focus, and you will get a wider DOF (and also i think theres still some camera shake going on)
Also if you want to give the shell some "movement" You can zoom in oor maybe even out while taking the pic (though don't go nuts, you will need a shutter speed around 1/60 - 1/100 to do it, so it will take multiple tries to get a decent shot, take like 20 pics)
