So /p/, it's been a long time since I posted a thread. I thought I'd start one now and ask you to give me your thoughts on my latest (and really, first) fine art photo project. I plan on selling these in triptychs arranged the way I'm posting right nyao. I'll have some wall space in a local coffee bar, and one of my friends is buying one of the triptychs already.

So, here you are.

Love the last three, but IMO the first one isn't worth paying for, I just don't see, anything really.
>> Teus !QbSstcPD6U
first one pretty worthless IMO.
>>70461is nice but needs a bit more DOF
>>70463nice too bad of the flare, but its awwright
>>70464best of the series

not a whole lot of love for the last two ones.

I'm considering reshooting it. I like the concept and the abstractness of the whole thing, but I'll agree that the final execution lacks the polish of others

Heh, the whole series is basically about shooting into the sun, so some flare is inevitable. It's pretty minimal in that one though, I'm pleased with it.

I'm>>70467, and after looking again, I think, maybe, if you ordered them as such in your presentation:

The whole thing could work. Don't ask why, I just find that to be aesthetically pleasing.

These are absolutely beautiful. Good use of light and color.>>70463
is currently my favorite, specifically for this reason, along with the fun DOF and the otherwise sepia tone in the back. All of the first thing are fanstically this way; consider them sold to me if I ever run across any of those.

>>70464

>>70466

the actual subject blends too much into the background for me.

That's a fantastic suggestion. When I get the first batch of prints back, I'm going to definitely try that order and see how it works.

Thank you, Liska!
I can see why you'd say that about the subject/background interaction. As small as they are in this format, I'd agree with you, but after looking at these on a 30" cinema display, they really pop. I think they're really going to benefit from being printed large.

I'm going out to reshoot the first shot that everyone doesn't seem to care for (and I'm not 100% happy with), but after that, I think I may lay the project to rest and consider it a finished product. :)

Thanks everyone.

(Pic unrelated, just felt like posting something, heh)
