soup /p/

I come to you with a question. I have an assload of MD glass (500/f8, 70-210/f4,50/f2.8, etc). I also have $120 dollars. So, i can either get an MD to AF converter (in b4 sony sucks), or a 28mm f2.8.

50/f2.8?

I also have a sony body and a good selection of MD glass (including a beautiful 135mm f/2.8). I decided not to go with the converter, more glass isn't a good thing and some have issues with focusing to infinity. Haoda is a good guy though, and his stuff is probably the best MD/AF converter you'll find.

it might not possibly be 50/f2.8, i have the lens at my house (i'm at college right now), but they pretty much cover the gamut from fisheye to telephoto

Do you have a 28mm lens in that lineup? Or something close to it?

What sort of photography do you usually do?

What sort of 28mm retrofocus (presumably) lens sells for $120?

Sell it all to Butterfly.

I dont want MD mount lenses, i dont have any MD mount cameras and id prefer dynax AF lenses kthnxbai.

Is the 500/8 reflex?

She's probably doing some extra trolling because she's in a good mood after passing those resits.

Yeah i would be but there arnt any decent topics (critiques or just outright trolling) to work with and im really tired from going to sleep at a reasonable time the past few days (ie 30min ago).

Im saving it up for PMA, i think the ensuing shitstorms from that will be AWESOME.

>more glass isn't a good thing and some have issues with focusing to infinity

is all this thread needed anyway.

my previous boredom and professions of love aside, grats on the resits. what type of engineering were you looking to get into? i seem to have missed that key info
>> Butterfly !xlgRMYva6s

I do aerospace engineering with pilot studies (check it bitches)

I have no plans to go into engineerng when i graduate, i might to earn the money for a while before i can swan about doing stupid things but its nothing concrete.

Im a godly cad/3d modeler but its hard getting a good job in that.

sounds quite abit higher than my education level, I just stick tampons in bullet holes.

Any idea what you want to fly if you do? Fixed or rotary wing?
and CAD makes my head hurt, my dad tried to teach me that shit for architecture but i lost interest.

Also, slow night on /p/

I hear that good engineers are in demand though. You could get a decent and reliable job that way.

Swanning around for a while after graduation is a popular choice. Good idea too to have some fun and explore the world before being tied down with work and mortgages. ;)

Also, the 28mm 2.8 was a Minolta from the late 80s early 90s on ebay in good condition.

It's entirely possible to work and have shelter without being "tied down" to anything.

BAMPU

I already have 20~hrs of flying fixed wing but I gave up after that. Yeah im currently mid way through my uni course. CAD is piss easy because i have a godly 3D brain but as a downside i have no short term memory (this is dislexia btw, not just that mixing up letters shit).

>>114725
Ill probably get chartered just for the money and to get something to fall back on. I dont really care much for engineering i only did the degree to do something worthwhile at uni.

1. get olympus DSLR for dirt cheap
2. get olympus-MD adapter
3. ???
4. profit

Enjoy manually focusing with the worst viewfinders on the market.

I has magnifier, live view and focus confirmation, though.

No substitute for a decent viewfinder.
>> Anonymous
>>114964
Viewfinders on cheaper DSLRs are universally bad for manual focusing unless you get an aftermarket split focusing screen. Well, maybe except Pentax DS, but it still sucks compared to X700.
Plus it's not like there's much choice if one really wants to use old MD lenses on digital without sacrificing image quality.

40D is good with its cheap and easily swappable screens and the FF sized sensor cameras have nice viewfinders too.

The problem is, one doesn't simply put MD glass on a 40D due to difference in flange focal distance.

This is true.

Further fixed.
