BW Photography Class Anonymous
These are my favorite shots from my BW photography class. I developed the film myself so there may be some water spots etc. I also developed the pictures, but these aren't my work, obviously - I had the film scanned at a store and put on CD. Feedback is greatly appreciated, I spent hours on these.

ooh, nice photos for somebody doing photography class. they're far from perfect but you are on a good road!

the photos look a bit grey-ish, just like when I started developing with ID11 (same as D76). I didn't manage to get the right look, so I moved on to different developers.

try editing your (color) curves a bit, with photoshop or the GIMP. while you're at it, use the clone/heal tool to brush out the dust

google for practical info.

the curves.

it was overexposed a bit, so you don't have 100% black in the photo. I cut off the black at the left, and increased the contrast a bit then. otherwise it would get too black. also edited the highlights of the water a bit

Thanks for the advice, it's helpful. Actually, the waterfall photo and a couple of other photos in there were my starter project so I didnt' know much - I used Ilford HP5 film. For my better photos like the one with the boat, the 2 dead trees and the high-contrast sunset, I used Kodak TriX, which was better contrast, and I had a bit more skill in the darkroom by then.

HP5 is my love affair.
