I ended up taking silhouettes, because I didn't have a flash :( Why Nikon's ttl-everything flashes must be so expensive?

Well, this was pretty nice, altough the guy could be the other way around.

Also seems that crew focus lenses can focus fast enough :) They just make more noise.

Cheapest good flash, SB-600 ~$200USD

But.. in Finland sb-600 is ~300eur/410usd, which is a bit killer price from "just a flash". SB-800 is 450eur/620usd ...

Maybe I should just save for sb-600 :P

Holy fucking shit.
I'm sorry but it's just not worth 600USD.
Metz is german and makes, argueably, better flash systems. I'm fairly certain that some of their older models are even forwards compatible with their i-TTL modules.
You might want to check them out, they may be better priced since they're an EU company.
or troll used shops and boot sales for older speedlights (I like the sb-15 on my D70) and/or vivitar 283s and some shoe slaves. You'll have to experiment with a motley rig like that, and practice situations you think you'd be in. Which you should anyway; at least you're not doing it on film! ;)

get a used sb-28 or a vivitar 285HV (works with new digital cameras without frying your circuitry). Both are an easy find for about 125 USD, not counting shipping.
