Indoor flash at medium to long distance Anonymous
Hey /p/, assuming I have enough power output for the distance I'm aiming at the exposure I'm dialed for, how should my flash head be aimed?

Point it straight on and wrap some cardboard to make a snoot and hope for the best or should I make a bounce card and point it at an angle?

I'm thinking subjects would be 15 meters away with just ambient artificial light. Ceilings are too high to bounce.

Depends. Do you want your photo to look like it was shot with a bounce card or to look like it was taken straight on with a snoot?

There's also this "Better Beamer" thing but I guess it's only useful for telephoto purposes.

The snoot can deliver an entirely different look if you do it right but yeah, I'd rather have diffused light.

Would the Gary Fong clear Lightsphere do any good shot straight up with the dome on?

I think Gary Fong has a thing called the Whale Tail that is supposed to be like a bounce card but it's overpriced as fuck.

You can get both the Chinese versions of the Lightsphere and the WhaleTail for less then one of the offical ones from him.

Bleh, I already got a Ligthsphere from him. I was aiming at a DIY solution.

I think I'll do Lightsphere straight up and straight down and see what happens. Might have to dial down to 1/16 to avoid burning out ;_;

I hate to digress, but this picture is seriously awesome.
