Because there is nowhere else for this, and movies are just moving photographs...

What would you suggest as the best set up for high speed moving video recording? I would like to record my motorcycle riding and am trying to do research into what would be the best equipment for the price and what kind of set up i should run? I really only need 1 camera, im assuming something like the lipstick camera which would stick to my helmet, but as for the recording device im getting confused and with electronics especially recorders you really need to know the good from the bad. Does anyone have any suggestions that might help me? it would be much appreciated.

this is sort of a secret, but not really. Sony made for a short time a Digital8 "walkman" style battery operated recording/monitoring deck. It should work well with a small battery operated helmet cam. Stick the deck in your pocket, or under the seat, wherever.
Before you go, ohnoes, it's not minidv; no, it's not, however digital8 records DV onto 8mm tape. The sony "walkman" deck also has an i.link/firewire port on it for computer editing lulz.
It was an odd prosumer old<->new bridge device that no one heard of or bought. Poke around ebay for sony gvd. It seems they do make miniDV ones now but you're going to be paying $bux for something that you don't *really* need.
The hookup may seem ghetto, but remember that camera and deck were seperate things for a long time and is still done that way sometimes, depending on what's being done.
