hey /p/ I just discovered something interesting. I was messing around with my cell phone camera and some LED christmas lights, and I stumbled across the point where the framerate of the camera and the flashing of the lights (on alternating current) interfere.
the light was almost touching the lens, and I was holding it kind of horizontally

the LEDs are running on alternating current, which means they flash, really fast. the camera has a refresh rate as well, and I found a point at which they interfere. the image I posted is from my camera have a shutter slower than the flashing of the light, so you can see one flash on the left, one in the center, and another on the right.

I can't find the picture in mind but it's not hard to imagine, we've all seen it before.

Long exposure light trails. They can be reasonably sharp to the point it looks digitally rendered.
