D80 Anonymous
Hey /p/

I just got a D80 and I was wondering if you know of any remotes either wireless or wired that are compatible with it because I want to do long exposures and lock the button too

I know the MC-DC1 is compatible but dunno about the reviews on it. Please help!

I have a D80 as well and us a Nikon ML-L3 wireless remote. Works great, nothing crazy but it does what it should do and does it well.

so you can lock the shutter(bulb mode) with that remote?

It basically acts like a T(ime) mode. You press it once to trip the shutter and press it again to close it

got a universal remote lying around? No? Go buy one; the RCA 403 or 404 are like, 5 bucks. set it to manufacturer code 066, press VOL + and voila. Cheapo wireless trigger.

Pretty much any IR universal remote works, too. You just have to figure out what code works with your D80. Works from D80 all the way down to D40, too.

One doesn't need to attach anything to camera?

Is it the same (except the code) with Canon?

Canon works differently, but if you have an ipaq or palm pilot, you can use Nevo software or Omniremote to fire them.

Nikons just use a line-of-sight IR sensor, so it's the same as a TV remote. No extra nuthin'.
