What lens dose he use for the bulk of this?

Only got a shitty low res version so cant rly tell

Also, what would be a good equivalent to it for digital, since the crop would make what ever his using kind of lame

16-35L is his main lens, I've also heard he uses the 50/1.4 a notable amount.

Digital, 10-22 Canon fits the focal lengths exactly, though it's slower and nowhere near as good. Sigma 30/1.4 would be a good replacement for the 50/1.4.

But do realize Nachtwey's style has zip to do with the lenses he has.

Well, only inasmuch as he shoots really wide often. It's hard to try to emulate someone's style without using what they use. But like you said, it's not the -exact- lens that matters, so a 10-22 would be completely fine.

Nachtwey's work is so excellent because it's intensely thoughtful, involved and concerned. However, it's technically perfect, which allows the other aspects to come through clearly and beautifully.

Nachtwey is probably the hardest photographer to emulate because he has that magical not-getting-shot field around him.
