From what I've read, supposedly the k100 kit lens is one of the better kit lenses out there, but I haven't personally used one. As for a palce to buy stuff from, you can't go wrong with keh.com, or heck, even ebay. One thing i'd recommend is trying to get the Pentax DA 40mm F2.8 Limited lens. It's a kickass pancake type design, and it was specifically crafted for Pentax's dSLR sensor. Reviews i've seen for it have generally been great. I'd love to have one, myself, or the manual version from years ago. Might be pricey though, which is the only drawback it has, i think.
