Better than mine, (Shot through a net from above)
I haven't been to any games yet, But if I do I will have to be quite high or shoot without a flash (because of the glass)
Or i suppose I could use the 85mm f1.8 and get right up front. Its a bit too zoomed in for most shots though (And I like tight crops!)

How did you deal with the glass? and where did you shoot from?

I was in the student section about 7 rows above the glass, in section 14. For reference, I couldn't frame players without zooming out to around 130-140 when they were at the goal nearest to me.

I would think 85 would be a short unless you were shooting out of one of the photo holes. Even then, a zoom seemed to be really helpful.

Are you a student?

err mine wasn't at the game, its an unrelated hockey shot,
wtf don't know why pic didn't upload.

If you are above the glass then a 70-200 or the like would be needed, but for shooting through the glass (No flash of course) then the 85 is actually a bit much)

Heres a dif pic (duplicate file error on same pic that didn't upload properly), just a practice at a local arena up here in Canuck land
Taken with 80-200 F2.8

Nice action. I wanted to be up by the glass, but the place was packed. If I go back, I'll keep your advice in mind if I plan to shoot up against the glass.

Its nice not having to mess with exposure...unlike certain other sports.
