What does /p/ think about pinhole photography?

Skill-less shit. Pinhole is for faggots.

Pinhole photography's a pretty cool guy. Eh lets you build your own camera and doesn't afraid of anything.

Pinholes are a gimmick, just like 1-element lenses, circular fisheyes, Holgas, HDR, etc. It seems fascinating at first (and may produce some nice photos if you use it correctly), but gets boring really quick.

Pinholes are fun to fuck around with and waste a couple of hours on a lazy Saturday afternoon. I built a little box that I put on front of a can of 110. In fact, I just dropped off a roll of 110. Its too bad no one in my town develops 110 anymore, they all send it off, so my pictures won't be ready until the 26th. How lame is that?

I do enjoy a good pinhole from time to time. It is a lot of fun to mess around with but it can get boring. Then again it's a lot of guess work unlike a nice new slr with exposure charts and all that stuff. Pinhole is a traditional medium and there for it has this air about it that you can't find through modern cameras.

It's a gimmick and pretty pointless outside of teaching kids and some fun, which doesn't really last long.

clearly you're confusing pinhole photography for using a hyper-advanced digital slr with 900 different types of metering, automatic camera settings, the ability to immediatly see and delete and reshoot and bad images (with camera assistance to help you decide which are the badly exposed frames), autofocus, and the millions of other gadgets in modern cameras.

yeah, they take FAR more skill to use than making your own camera and working out all the exposure and numerous issues that come with it.

image very much related, and happened to have been shot on a spamcam very similar to OP

and yet could be done, if you so wanted to inflict the world with such a photo, by closing your eyes and clicking madly in photo while having the filters folder open.

The world is full of assholes with expensive hammers who think everything looks like a nail.

All I really have to say is that photography is photography and weather it is shot with a spam cam, an edson pinhole, a film cam, disposable, slr, digital it doesn't really mater. It's the composition and emotion that is conveyed through the image. It's like downing a painter because they don't use photoshop.

You can make a pinhole camera with a DSLR.

It is still a retarded thing to do though. People who defend it are morons.
