A local shop has a refurbished Canon 40D for $700 bucks. It's 'brand new' and it's directly refurbished from Canon...does anyone have any experience with this type of situation? I would think that if it's from Canon it would be OK and therefore be a good deal...

Yeah it looks like the warranty is 3 months instead of a year. The price is so tempting...

Can`t you get like new one for 1000$ ? They drooped since 50D come out.

Yeah but that's 300 dollars for 9 months of warranty, basically

until you hit the 5D, Canon D-SLR's feel really cheap and the flash feels like it will fly off whenever you open it

2/10

I've handled Canon cameras, thanks. I agree with you about the Rebel line, though. Those feel like crap.

The refurbished are usually a good deal, since they come from Canon. Usually they are warranty returns, that Canon fixes, or something similar. I have an i9900 printer from Canon that I got refurbished years ago and it still works fine.

Also, my Rebel XTi feels no cheaper than any other entry level DSLR. Also, when I put some L-series glass on it, it is a beast.

I have a refurbished 20D I've been using for two years and never had any problems with it.
