I plan to buy a SIGMA 18-200mm DC OS for Rebel XT.

Is this lens awesome y/n?

Other awesome options with similar focal range?

I want to cover from 10-20 to 200-300, with obligatory OS in the long end, so I thought of this sigma lens, but I'm open to the option of having two lenses. What pair of lenses do you recommend for that purpose?

I was going to buy the exact same thing for my Nikon. I can't afford two lenses or even a Nikon 18-200, so this will have to do for a while for me.

works well, I use it more than my 70-200 2.8 IS

I highly recommend the 70-300 IS USM for all Canon telephoto needs. Not only is it L quality at consumer price, it's actually lighter (if not shorter) than this lens.

I have it for my 40D. I think it's a good lens, and the OS is definitely worth it.

The build quality is good, as well as the material. It's rugged and won't mind a couple of drops of water on it.

I'd definitely recommend it.

it's not L quality and it is consumer. the 70-200 f/4 L is better than the 70-300 by far
