the blurry glass is taking away from the actual subject [which is overdone, by the way]. I would suggest choosing a different type of glass, maybe something less thick, like a wine glass, or a shot glass, or something that wont cause too much ugly distortion. If you want to make it completely about the water, you can probably get a small fish tank or something, which could take up the entire camera frame. Fool around with the lighting more, too.

Right now the most interesting part of this photo is the top part of the glass, everything else is just sort of meh.

Also, about the food coloring being overused. You can do other mediums too, like milk in coffee, or oil in water, or something. There's a bunch of liquids and shit you can mess around with for cool results. Not just food coloring.

Good ideas, thx for the reply, and about the lighting, what should I do? Theres no good light source int he room, One light and my cameras flash ( sorry about the pic size )

I have a halogen desk lamp; all I really have to do is turn off all the ceiling lights and then position the desk lamp however I want.
