My first DSLR Anonymous
Any suggestions on what I could get for my jump to DSLR? I only have around a $400 budget. I'm thinking of getting something off Ebay so I dont have to pay the new model premium.

Any last generation models I should be looking for that are still capable of the image quality of these newer models?

Rebel XT's are cheaper than the D40, and aren't crippled.

A crippled camera's brand doesnt make it any less crippled. A D40 is still a fucking crippled camera

Amazon.com

Canon Digital Rebel XT - $440.88
Nikon D40 - $478.17

Nikon's D70, D80 and higher cameras are great. Don't get their budget cameras though. Get the Rebel series instead.

A fine camera although no longer in production.

I'd have more respect for Nikon noobs if they were buying that camera, instead of making it evident they're shitty brand loyalists or just fucking uninformed before spending big bucks on something.
