What SD card brand does /p/ recommend? I have a Nikon D80 coming soon.
Kingston or Sandisk, though sandisk makes a lot of overpriced stuff. I use a 4GB SDHC Class 4 with my D80 and at no point have I experience a slowdown in my bursts..
>>263568How many photos on average can you fit on that card?
RTFM, faggot.
>>263588That doesn't mean anything, I'm sure they get paid by those companies to list them.
I have a sandisk ultra II 2GB shits pretty cool
I'm using a Toshiba SDHC 4gb right now and everything's been dandy so far. I got it pretty cheap, as cheap or cheaper than Kingston or SanDisk.
They're all the same shit. Four factories make cards for forty different brands. Get the one that's the fastest, cheapest, best-warranted one at your local shop.
>>263563i have a d80 and that exact card..it's nice and fast..and holds around 800 raw files and if you choose high jpg it will just say 1000k..i think i got around 1300 shots on high jpg alone.
2 4GB cards will be cheaper and faster than a 8GB rated at the same speeds
oops that's 1.0k
I just got a Kingston 4GB Class 6 for $10 with free shipping from Newegg.
I've got a D60, and Staples had a two-pack of PNY Class 4 4 GB SDHC cards for $30. Hell of a deal, and they've handled everything I can throw at them. 250-300 pictures/day, five days a week? No sweat.
>>263749250-300 pictures/day, five days a week? No sweat.lol, dead shutter after 30 days
I run a D80 with a Panasonic Class 6 2GB. Takes about 6-8 shots on RAW before the buffer lags. On JPG (any) continuous it hasn't noticeably slowed down. Not sure why panasonic doesn't get much mention in SD, but the card does plenty fast enough for my D80
>>263617How so? Isn't 20 MB/S the same no matter what the card size is?
>>263787http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/camera_multi_page.asp?cid=6007-9254
>>263788Five whole percent slower between 1GB and 8GB, and the difference between 4GB and 8GB is less than .35 MB/s. For fuck's sake, the BRAND you buy has a bigger impact than the size.>>263563Just get an Extreme III and enjoy.
>>263793the difference between 4GB and 8GB is less than .35 MB/slol wut?extreme iv 4gb is 20.1 mb/s and 25.7 mb/sextreme iv 8gb is 18.1 mb/s and 23.8 mb/sextreme iii 4gb is 18.7 mb/s and 22.1 mb/sextreme iii 8gb is 17.4 mb/s and 18.7 mb/s
SanDisk. Everything else is for poorfags or failures.
>>264157>I buy overpriced memory cards because I'm afraid my penis is too small.I generally buy the cheapest name-brand memory cards available and have never had a problem with 'em. Currently using a pair of Kingston 4G cards; was using some refurb IBM microdrives before that.
