ANTMY
today i returned my sigma 28-70 f/2.8 DG. I gave it a chance, but i couldn't take how much it would hunt, and how fuzzy, and blown out my pictures were. OP pic is the best shot i got out of it (i think). Instead i ordered a canon 50mm f/1.8...in b4 cheap plastic.

share with me your 50mm f/1.8 pics

Yeah, that lens kind of blows. You'll like the prime better.

sigma lenses i would have no issue buying and using, if i had the money

12-24, widest rectilinear in production, fuck yeah!
10-20, widest for crop, fuck yeah!
150-500, 500mm, fuck yeah!
20mm 1.8, 20mm and 1.8, FUCK YEAH!
150mm macro, cheap macro, fuck yeah!
30mm 1.4, cheap normal for crop, fuck yeah!

the rest kind of sucks

The 24/1.8 and 28/1.8 are really good, too. Their only downsides are that all three of them are huge.

I think the 24mm might be the fastest 24mm lens (inserting all caveats here) and I'm sure the 20mm is the fastest 20mm (inserting all caveats here) ever. The 28mm is the fastest in that focal length except the Nikkor f/1.4 (Leica-priced) and the Canon, which equals it but of course only works on Canons.

I've got the sigma 10-20 and an older 70-300. love them both..

the telephoto was ~$80 slightly used.. sure it hunts a lot and sucks total shit unless it's a sunny day out. but it was fucking $80..

but the 10-20 is godlike.. especially for the price.

Canon 10-22 > Sigma 10-20 > Nikkor 14-24 > Nikkor 12-24 > Zuiko 7-14 > Tokina 12-24 > Sigma 12-24 > Canon 17-40 > Canon 16-35 > Zuiko 11-22 > Tokina 11-16 > Tamron 11-18

We'll see where the new Tamron 10-24 fits in.

Optical quality, build quality, price, use, "what you get/price" ratio accounted for.

Oh! Forgot about that one, which is odd because there was a period of time I was lusting for the thing.

In defense of sigma, my 24-70 is tack sharp at 2.8 at all focal lenghts.

if you are who i think you are

your copy is pretty bad wide open, hardly what you can call tack sharp
