Taken yesterday when I was out wandering around Buffalo. This was in the parking lot of an abandoned building. The fence was open, so I wandered in, assuming that nobody would care.

A little bit later, I noticed a police car parked right outside, apparently watching me, so I hightailed it out of there repeating "BE COOL. BE COOL. ACT NATURAL" in my head over and over again.

(The police car did not pursue, so that's good)

LOL, you crazy person! You don't just walk into other peoples property.

Interesting shot, but I think it's zoomed in too much (or cropped). I would like it to be wider.

My reasoning was that it was just the parking lot, and the "No Trespassing" sign had worn away to the point where it was more of a "o es g" sign. And the gate looked like it no longer could be closed, even if you wanted to. The only indication that anyone owned it was the "For Lease" sign.

Why do you think it would be better wider? There's an ugly green sign to the right of that, and I think just more vines to the left. My goal was to show the contrast of the reserved parking spot with the urban decay of the building (lol pretenshun). It's rare that I'll crop significantly from what comes out of the sensor.

Attached is another pic from the same side of the building.

Yes, that is a good question. Lets see..

I feel that you're giving me a big piece of something - I look at it and I want to see the whole thing. What is that? What are you showing me? What's going on there? Where does all that lead to? Those are the questions that I ask to this photo, but it doesn't answer... Alternatively if you would show me a smaller piece, I think I could be happy and wouldn't worry about the whole thing.

Sorry, this isn't an objective criticism, just my feelings and thoughts.

I'm guessing that the main concern would have been vandalism. Buffalo's been seriously trying to crack down on taggers, and taggers love big abandoned interstate-adjacent buildings like this one.

This is one of the reasons I really need to get a set of "Allan Crain, Professional Photographer" business cards printed up. But before that, I really want to get a website set up. But before that, I need to get off my lazy ass and actually do it. So it's a conundrum.

vistaprint has forever "free" cards, mpix has some great double-sided ones for not too much.
Just get some that look nice and have your email and mobile number. If people ask what you're website is, say that you're between hosts at the moment. It's not lying. :P

Meh. I really want to set up a website so I can do things like trying to sell my prints. It shouldn't be *too* hard, given that I'm a web developer in Real Life, I'm just lazy.

(Also, need to upgrade my server's drive. It's like 4 gigs, un-backed-up. Wanna swap that for dual-250s with one backing up to the other each night)
