HDR sucks.
>> inesh
what is hdr?
>> Anonymous
watermark sucks, go back to deviantart

OP, you do realize that posting your stuff on Deviant Art technically allows them to use it for marketing purposes and gives them right to use it in any way they see fit? Be careful of what you put on there...

Can you get us the photo without the watermark?

This is good, but I'd have put the watermark horizontally to match that of the OP, and crop it more like "perfail.deviantart.c". This would heighten the impact of the burn by adding more parallelism.

Yes because your art work is SOOOOOO good that deviantart is going to steal it and make millions off of it. And also where does it say in the terms of service that they can do that?

tilted, boring, gb/2 devart

Hey, I've no need to start makin money off my work- i'm a professional hobbyist, but i've had friends run into problems-- even when you delete your profile off deviantart, the photos/art is still there for them to "use" EVEN if you delete all your stuff. Which is apparently impossible to do. I find this disturbing.
>>41014
and shoot, you beat me to it. Thanks. I think that particular policy is the stupidest thing i've ever seen.
>> Liska !!LIVFOETqL8j
OP; protip: don't be stupid and put a giant watermark on your photo while posting something for critique. 1- it's really stupid. 2- people are more likely to steal it if you're untrustful.

ANYWAY, agree with a previous crit; the tilt makes absolutely no sense. The idea is cool, but it's too dark to really make an impact. The pole in the upper left really distracts, you want to keep that out as much as possible. I'd also recommend putting in more sky. What exactly did you do in photoshop and how much did you mess with it?

Incidentally, myspace does the same thing with any work you post on there. In case anyone wasn't aware.

Didn't know that one, but thankfully I don't have either. I think the basic idea is okay, but if you ever want to be a professional, it's a bad idea to post your major, best work on there. Better off starting a webpage of your own.

OH! Topic Hijack. How many photographers here have their own website? Was it hard to put together/did you do it yourself, or have someone put one together for you? I've been debating over whether or not to put my artwork on a site for a while, but never get around to it.
