Took some shots of stuff with 400 asa/iso black and white film with a 100 asa/iso setting. (used a pentax p30, it read dx stickers for the asa/iso, if the film doesn't have one, apparently it defaults to 100asa/iso) Is my film stuffed? I've like barely ever used film and never done that before, so i don't know till i print them. but i need to take more pictures and want them to turn out decent. :x
Are you sure your film is not DX coded? Almost any film is..
pull process it. stop development early and they might be usable.
Nah, the film's not. I have reusable film-cannisters for class.
theres not any type of compensation or manual override of the speed?
>>169780I think this was a "Didn't notice until after shooting the roll" thing.
The film should be fine, just needs modified development. Hopefully you haven't developed it yet. If you haven't, what film is it and what developer will you be processing it in?
>>169788Probably, but this camera has indeed no override settings. Either DX-coded, or 100 ASA.
After the fact, but it's just one more reason why I think bulk film is fail.Annoying to load, prone to scratches/dust on the film, problems with DX-dependent cameras, all just to save maybe $1 per roll
>>169830However, DX-dependent cameras are pretty much fail anyhow.
>>169823Ahh. Okay then. That's obnoxious. You can buy DX-coded reusable cartridges, though.
