Go ahead and pump your aperture even wider if you're using an ipod. Mirror lock and self-timer ftw as well for the best sharpness.
As for composition a lot people make the mistake of only having one interesting element in it. Pretty clouds don't make a good photo, pretty clouds, dynamic light, and an interesting foreground do. Don't bother taking photo if it can be better if you wait. A lot of good landscape photographers haven been known to sit down and read a book waiting for the right clouds, wind, or and light.
If you don't have one, you want a polarizer. If you do B+W, especially film B+W, grab some color filters. ND and graduated ND are nifty too but most people don't need them.
This photo is uninteresting. What would this photo have looked like if you had laid down on the ground and taken it? Since you don't have dynamic light or clouds what can you do take an interesting photo here?
