Well a new canon 10-22 is around 700 (unless you have found a good deal) so im assuming the canon is used too? You buy wide angle glass for the low end of the zoom so you aren't going to miss those 2mm. They are both optically similar (unless you are some dip shit pixel fucker who will set looking at 100% crops for an hour). If you have disposable income, i would say go with the canon, but i doubt you will regret the sigma either.

wow.. Thats a ton of bull shit.
The canon is A LOT better optically. A LOT.

Also, you should know that the sigma is soft in like 2 out of 5 cases. (bad qc)

I can vouch for bad QC on the Sigma. I ordered it and got a lens with great IQ on the right side, but terribly soft on the left side.

I sent it back, and should get a replacement Monday or Tuesday.

they're about the same, sharpness-wise. the sigma is actually a little sharper in some cases.

BUild quality is actually an issue for me. Good build quality makes me wanna go out and take more pics.

/p/.. This has probably been asked 10 times just this week, but.. Im buying a super wide angle. Do I need the last 2mm of the sigma and canon? Cause I really like the Tokina 12-24mm, I just wonder if its really wide enough.

I used to have the tokina.. Build quality is better than the canon. Its heavier than fucking L-lenses.

seeing those example pics your posted really swayed me from the sigma..

i have another friend that experienced the same thing you did.
