Howdy /p/ -- Anybody proud users of this little monster? I just started using one I found in a box at my house. Still waiting for the film to come back from the lab, guess I'll see how well it works or doesn't.

It's fun. Better IQ than a Holga, not as much vignetting. You can flip the lens and get a pretty nice radial blur effect—the center of the image is sharp, and gets exponentially more OoF as you move toward the edges. Can't remember site with instructions, ask the Google or Instructables.

OP here, so the shutter apparently works, but it looks like I either fucked up the film while modifying the 120 roll to try to fit in my 620. or there's a light leak.. which is possible, there are a lot of little plastic seals cracked.
Basically the majority of photos turned out as they normally would, but some of the brighter ambient shots have a dark diagonal across the frame and some darkening on the film border. Hard to tell if it's my fault or if the camera is just too broken up.
I do have a roll of 120 that I shot exclusively at night, so maybe that can point me to a conclusion. I'll go drop that off at the lab I guess. (My devo and equipment isn't with me in college so I can't do it on my own, unless I jack someone else's chems.)

Pic related, it's a few frames top one is fine, the rest seem to have the diagonal band of overexposure. (and yes, pics suck, it was a test roll, so I was just trying different lighting and junk - not trying for art.)

It could also be a problem with the place you have them developed at. Even so, I think it's more likely that the camera is at fault if anything. I don't own a Brownie or anything like that at all. If anything, I'd look into buying a TLR for myself. They're so cool looking.

yup, looks like a light leak. Try covering the light seals with electric tape.

Ya, I guess it coulda been the lab's fault, but probably just a light leak, unless their processing chemicals are really that dirty. Ya, I kind of want to get a 'real' MF camera, but not having much money doesn't put me into a good position for that. I'm trying to pinpoint a decent camera that takes 120/220 - 6x6. But the cheapest I can find are some old Mamiya's on ebay and craigslist, but that's still a few hundred for a 30 year old used body.

Fuck it, I'm going to the dark room, I need to go up to campus anyway, hopefully nobody minds me jacking some of their developing fluid. >.>

Yup, second roll, though I majorly buttfucked the frames by messing up on the reeling process, has no light leaks (all night shots) from what I can discern from the blotches of devo/stop/fix that shat all over that film. soooo electric tape or bust, i guess.

I'd go with camera light leak too. The leaks are fairly consistent in position.
As for a cheap MF camera consider the Kiev 6c/60 or 80. Your gonna have fun sorting the frame spacing even if you do manage to track down one of the new kits around.
Pentacons are fairly cheap aswell but also have finnicky film winding.
