OP here. I need to replace the mercury battery in it, then I'll use it.

Are you aware of the issues surrounding mercury battery replacement?

I got the Weincell replacement in my Praktica that someone suggested and it is working just fine. Go to Ritz, get a Weincell, shoot some shots. Mercury Batteries not that big a deal.

OP here. Yes, I am aware of the issues surrounding mercury battery replacement. I did some googling, and found it needs a Z625PX battery.

I got a hi-matic e, almost exactly the same but a 40mm f/1.7

I just used a weincell silver oxide battery, and some tinfoil and paper for packing as the original mercury cells were xbox huge.
Also hard to focus if there is no hard edge.

You sure? My googling says the HiMatic 11 has shutter priority but no full manual.

ah your right, my mistake, i was thinking of the hi-matic 7 and assuming the 11 was similar. and i could see a ring that looks like the aperture ring on the rear of the lens. shutter priority ain't so bad i guess

Yeah, I've got a 7s. Or maybe a 7s II. I forget which. Nice camera, though a bit bulky (easily as big as my Minolta SLR from the same era). A shame my particular copy has a fuxx0red lens...

Should be the 7S then.
