Sound Forest Anonymous
Finally got around soring and post-processing photos from few weeks ago.

Sound Forest (skanumezs.lv) - Latvian festival for "adventurous music".

The location is pretty cool, an abandoned harbor decorated with graffiti and all sorts of fun shit.

I like this photo.

Yup, that's the target audience.

Crazy artists! Bugs and stones, what will they think of next?

I really like this composition, unfortunately my hands weren't steady enough.

Another artist with weird items.

This poor guy obviously isn't enjoying the after-midnight-ear-bleeding-loud-music... or maybe he just screams 'cause he can't see shit.

Besides music they also were showing various short video clips. This person is somehow related to those videos...

Ugly flash shadow.

I'll stop now. Kind of hard to shoot good photos in candlelight where getting close to the action is pretty much impossible.

Here's one, tough, the noise completely ruins it, also ugly shadow from flash.

The one I posted probably is the best.

I'm quite pleased how quality wise these low light photos turned out, if I get correct exposure without blur then the noise pretty much isn't a problem for Internet use. All photos here are handheld and most of them are shot at ISO 1600.

So what're you shooting with? I'm guessing digital, based on the "most shot at iso1600" comment.

Glad you asked! I'm shooting with Nikon D70s, Sigma 30mm F1.4. I also had SB-600 Speedlight mounted at all the time, which is a grate flash, very easy to use and produces awesome results, but I probably should have used it as a primary light source, not balanced with the surrounding lights.
Also I run all these .JPGs through Dcam Noise 2, a GIMP plug-in.
