looks too perfect. That's why it's not really interesting, although a good idea.

@File
It's been done a million times before but is still better than what you did.

Too perfect? Dunno what that means, really.

I need to try this shot again for a splash.

except for the white spot where the flash fired, it looks like it was computer rendered. The shadows and everything, it looks like someone was toying with Photoshop effects.
For a photograph there has to be more to it. IMO.

It means it looks like you just drew a purple line across a black background in Photoshop.

I can definately see that, it's missing what makes it really pop out, I agree. Very little post processing was done though, mostly came from the camera like this. I only did a few minor color adjustments and changed the contrast a bit (used black posterboard as a backdrop, unavoidable shadow on it that I didn't care for)

I'll try again tomorrow and get a splash in with it.
For the record, the actual milk was brown(old chocolate milk YAEY!), coloring came from a pink/purple gel over the flash.

This may be more to taste?

inorite?

Still, good to practice the boring and mundane stuff and to know how to do it.

Yes, I practice it all the time. You have no clue how many photographs I've taken of random, boring shit. Even just random stuff on my desk.

But I don't post it.

And I don't post gear threads. So it all evens out in the end.
