sup gies. im at work so sorry for the god awful picture. Anyways! heres why im proasting:
Can anyone in here recommend schools in Canada that would be a great place for a career in photo journalism?
is there anyone here who is currently studying photo journalism?
And if so what should i expect as a first year student at said school.
what side courses would be available and/or necessary.
what equipment should i be obtaining ( Currently have two nikon F's and one nikon D-slr ( in b4 nikon vs canon debate) and a variety of lenses plus a father who is deeply into photography as well and has plenty of equipment I could probably borrow for school)
fees including: books/materials extra equipment software ( photoshop etc.)
what variety of tasks i will have to preform to obtain a degree.
anything else i should know please feel free to add in later.
( pic kinda related)

actual photojournalism programs are rare. Most of the time it's a degree in journalism with a minor in photography. If you're serious about journalism, make sure you attend an accredited school of journalism. They're rarer than you think

Here's a list of schools that offer a
"program, course, or special interest in photojournalism": http://www.nppa.org/professional_development/students/schools_and_colleges/schools.html

Canada is, as usual, way down there at the bottom.

Did you just now call me stupid??

Unless your names 4chan, no.
Now if I had said " you make up for the stupidity of anon" you would have some motive to sage my thread. but considering that you took offense to a generalization ( not saying that anon isn't also a generalization but a lesser generalization that is a subculture of 4chan)
yes. I did "just now" call you stupid.

I'm going to be attending the SAIT in calgary for their journalism program in a few days, here. First year is a general mix between photography classes and writing classes, and the second year you can specialize in with the writing side, or photojournalism.

Good choice! I took a couple PJ courses at MRC for shits and giggles, but the SAIT program was much more photo-oriented and better IMO.
