Blistering barnacles, that's some fine macro work there!

your lens/sensor is dirty. and the shot is boring.
>> eku !8cibvLQ11s
Dirt, where? Don't see any. Except on the hat, but that's not part of my camera.

...are you sure? I just don't see anything. Might it be your monitor?
>> Anonymous
>>91115

No, he's right. There's some specs of dust there. It's hardly noticeable especially if you have your monitor's gamma levels up. It's there.

Oh shi-!

Need to get my cleaning gear out of the closet!
>> Anonymous
>>91125

Use scotch tape. Lifts the dirt right off the sensor easy. Works great.
>> eku !8cibvLQ11s
>>91134

Have you tried it?
>> Anonymous
>>91138

I used it on my 5D. Much better than waving those crappy cotton bud things over it.

i use a fine grit sandpaper on my 1Ds Mk III
>> Butterfly !xlgRMYva6s
thats nothing, you should see the current crap on my sensor..
>> Anonymous
Mine looks like I have been using it like an ashtray now.
>> Anonymous
there is a correct way to change lenes and this is why.
get that shit off with compressed air.
not by blowing on it
and not by farting on it
>> Anonymous
>>91189

It happens eventually no matter how careful you are, especially if you have to change in the field.
>> Butterfly !xlgRMYva6s
>>91191
forget changing in fields, try changing lenses in nightclubs :P
>> Anonymous
>>91198

I don't think I'd have the nerve to try changing in there. So many ways you could get bumped, smoke, distracted at the wrong moment, bad light cause you to miss, spills or ash, etc. Sounds risky.

It's bad enough for me in the woods or countryside without crowds in the way. At least the animals tend to keep back. It's terrain, weather and plants that are the bigger risk for me. You dice with danger.

Yeah its because im hardcore (and in before someone slandering my camera)
>> Anonymous
>>91202

Either you are hardcore or scary enough to keep everyone away from you. Maybe big sharp elbows? Fight everyone off and through the crowds, especially drunks.

Sony system sucks for reasons I'll never go into in any detail blah blah, and so on and so forth.

How about changing lenses on a sandy beach in high winds?

(Which I've done a few times shooting beach volleyball games)
>> Butterfly !xlgRMYva6s

(thankyou)

I dont really have much problem with the actual changing of the lense (pass + scowl) but its more the ammount of crap that is about

Dusty as shit track, I used to swap my 18-200 and 10-20mm there all the time. The problem with the track is the dust coats the camera, and when you change lenses it disturbs all the dust thats gathered around the lens mount.

I used to clean my sensor once a week after shooting there. Now I just use 2 camera's! One with each lens haha (except instead of the craptacular Sigma 18-200 I use an 80-200 af-s)

I never thought scowling would be such a useful life skill. Is that enough to stop any problems? I'd imagine a drunk's greasy finger on the end of the lens would be a pest.

>>91214

A new challenger appears. Good idea on keeping the two bodies. Worth it in your case. How's the sensor holding up to such frequent abuse and cleaning?
>> Butterfly !xlgRMYva6s
>>91219
my scowl stops traffic, im not kidding.
>> Anonymous
>>91225

Impressive. If only there were tutorials for that sort of thing online or in books. You should make one up for us lesser mortals cursed to smile instead. It sounds like it would be handy for crossing the road in the cities too.

There's a few times a powerful scowl on command would have been welcome. I'll be sure not to cross or insult anyone with a Sony in future, just in case.

<3 it comes from being utterly horrible and about 200% evil, not recomended for normal use!
>> Vincent
>>91219
Actually no negative consequences so far, Haven't noticed any scratches or anything, and I clean it a ghetto way! (I just use one of those cheap brush / blower things you can get at any camera store, it has thin plastic bristles)

Anyway, I didn't want to spend over $100 for some lame ass negatively charged tiny brush, for a D50 body, when the method I used appears to work fine. Now that I have a D200 I might have to be a tad more careful, but i'll worry about that later!
>> Anonymous
>>91232

Hah! Enough evil alone contained within you for two completely evil people? Impressive indeed. That's even before the scowl and being horrible too. Maybe you could sell a little of it in jars for the rest of us? You must have some to spare, surely? Maybe cut it with some good or nice so not to overwhelm or endanger any civilians that aren't used to handling such a potent mix? It's hard going for the rest of us who weren't lucky enough to be marked by demons or some such. Oh woe is me. :(

>>91241

The blowers are supposed to work well enough. I ended up getting that Delkin kit with the scope to let me have a good look at the sensor to see how dirty it is and if I've got all the dust off with the first attempt.
