Excuse the borders. I had to present them that way for another site.

Exif says 20D because I don't have a scanner. Also 120000 get.

these are fucking awesome. great composition, great texture, good prints.

>>119996is especially great.

>>119998is good too, except for the black thing in the bottong corner.

not saying i don't like these, because i do. particularly the noir quality i perceive in them.

but i don't understand why some photos get trashed by anon for having "boring" subjects, which i can see some anon doing here. these shots seem like a good example of how "exciting" a subject is being in the eye of the beholder.

In /p/, black and White equals ORGASM OMG ART!

Now I have learned your ways, /p/.

I like these as much as i like minimal techno.

The people who think its in love it to bits, but if you look at it from an outsiders view its just random garbage.

Im not saying its bad, they look like good examples of the style (MASSIVE COMPLIMENT) but to me they are boring and subjectless.

These are the two reactions I usually get when people see these. One group of people absolutely love them and even offer money for them (omg maek money as photographer?). The others simply don't care for them at all because it's not their style which I understand completely.

Well you need to find the people who love it and SELL SELL SELL.

I (shock) can appreciate art that isnt my prefered style yo~

>but i don't understand why some photos get trashed by anon for having "boring" subjects

It's never the subjec that's the problem, it's a boring photograph of the subject that gets picked up on.

They're nice. Definitely better than your average /p/hoto. But there's a ton more better work than these.
>> Anonymous
I really like the tonality of the picture but the subject is very urban for my taste. looks like it took a try at the zone system of development.
>> Anonymous
did you take a picture of a developed picture with your 20D?

actually, i do have a firm preference for black and white. i think most beginners should shoot in monochrome until they develop an eye for light and composition. that's not to say that i don't appreciate a good color photograph. eggleston, haas, naoya hatakeyama, candida hofer are all outright geniuses. it's just that good color photographs are so far and few in between.

but my preference for monochrome has no sway on my opinion of these photos. i'm more impressed by the graphic quality and the visual grace.

The first category are the people that would like to think they have great taste in art, thus orgasming when seeing -gasp- black and white.
The second group just does not care for photographs, or knows that this is a cliche shot. Technically good in all aspects, but boringly cliche.

"good color photographs are so far and few in between."

This tells me that you're either an idiot or you just don't look at any color photographs.

oh, i'm definitely an idiot. but i've also looked at more than my share of color photographs. there's a reason people still shoot in monochrome, even though we're well into the color age.

Truly good photographs, be they color or black and white, are few and far between. Most are of average quality at absolute best.
>> beethy !HJGkSBB3Ao
these photos are a great example of excellent b/w photography

Love these.

Minimalism is where it's at.
