Image Deblurring with Blurred/Noisy Image Pairs sinnfrei-chan
I found an interesting new Software Developement for blurred/noisy images to get a high-quality result.
A Video of this (quiet smart) mechanism (don't get irritated by the german text, the video is on english) can be found here:

how much sharpening is really possible?
in movies you can see them use a really blurry picture, and get a really sharp image out of it, how much of that is already possible? using mathematics and comparison pics?

The article describes the Results in the Movie as some sort of development state. They proclaim to reach more sharp pictures than it could be possibly done with a normal camera on a tripod.

There are currently no plugins or add-ons avaiable with this new technique, they want to improve it to make it productionable.

There's a sweet part at the end of the article: the developers plan to implement this sharpening technique into the firmware of digital cameras to make a later improvement on the PC abundant.

d'ya suppose thats kinda like something being "more real"?

I guess they're aiming for it. But the main field will be a steady-shot-function of compact-cameras and mobile phone cameras to reach far more sharp pictures than they can do today. It'll take two fotos in a row to get a blurry and a noisy image and compiles them together to reach an ultra-sharp picture from two pretty lame shots.
That'll be my guess. The good cameras of today (digital reflex cameras and others) can definitley take those pictures anyway, but with a tripod. I wonder what'll happen if that algorithm is applied to such sharp fotos...
