color correction in photoshop FILM
Besides the fact that it's dirty as hell, should i go warmer or cooler from here? It's driving me insane. Under the enlarger, I could have this done in 3 test prints, but photoshop hates me.

its a 67 negative with an 80A filter on camera when taken

i messed with it for a few minutes and i think it turned out half decent. I pushed the shadows more towards blue/cyan and the midtones and highlights a bit towards red/yellow.

too yellow

Was she yawning when you took this? That is a massively long chin if she was not. Why fix this picture? Take a new one with better settings... it's way grainy and difficult to mess with without the original uncompressed jpeg you present here.

the uncompressed image is 195mb, I can't post that- and I'm fixing it because it's part of a larger series, I didn't ask for compositional critique- I asked for advice on color like>>38308did, even though it is yellow, though i wont discount him, his monitor might not be calibrated

Out of these,
>>38327
is the best. Note the color of the bright light behind her. In all of the others, its blue. Plus the ceiling and walls are the most white in this one. Her skin looks the most natural as well.
>> FILM
>>38327
though i wont discount it, I still prefer my image- the neutrality of the walls isn't that important (though i suppose with photoshop you can correct everything- im a bit of a purest, and usually use a cruel enlarger)

Looks too red to me. Also the light seems to be too bright behind her now and takes over that spot completely whereas the other two the things near the window are much more visible. Also, the cup is now gray along with the blanket. The color of the boxes seem way off too. The shadows on the shelf also look too red to me, but are more along the lines of black in the other two.

normally with indoor shots the colors turn bluish [look what happened to Keyra Agustina's photos], so that's why I use red and yellow to fix the color tones. [see left]

But, it seems like you were interested in keeping the cool colors, so I added some green to the highlights and cyan to the shadows. I also dodged your pants a little bit. [see right photo]

I love messing with photoshop sometimes.
