Faster shutter speeds, try to give the more active shots plenty of balanced leading room. work with the field and move around, try shooting most shots from eye level and when shoooting at a long distance try taking a knee... definately use a tripod if you have one.

short and sweet, good one anon

definitely leave the tripod at home.

Crop tight, try to keep the ball in the frame at all times, Also shoot people who are at the ready and look intense / much like your typical soccer player in action (no ball in frame for these)

Use long focal lengths and wider apertures to isolate the subject, large DOF is generally distracting, and framing multiple players at once is actually very difficult.

Also TRY to keep the face visible at all times, back of the head shots are usually no good.

some tracking shots would be cool, though it could potentially be a big waste of your film. if you have it in you though id atleast try.
