Blower bulbs and acceptable alternatives Anonymous
Inexperienced dslr noob here.

What would /p/ use in a pinch as replacements for blower bulbs?.

pic rather small, but related (its a sphygmomanometer bulb)

should blower bulbs be used with the mirror down or up?

Then you need to have the mirror up, obviously.

Maybe a turkey baster?

so /p/ recommends using blower bulbs to clean out sensors? is that even safe? WTF

Get a DSLR that cleans the sensor itself.

It's just air. The same air that circulates around it. Better than using a can of compressed air which might cause water droplets to form.

OMG YOU'LL GET AIR ON YOUR SENSOR DON'T DO IT

I was once blowing some dust out from the mirror and some spit went inside. It sucks, 'cause there's a big purple glob residue stain thing on the mirror. And I'm too lazy/pussy to clean it off.

And when the objective is attached when the cleaning occurs? Where does the dust go?

ps. not a troll, genuinely intrested
pss. nikonfag, so no jerking sensors for me
