No.Why are you using a filter?Is it to make the image more "artistic"? Then work on your composition, lighting, etc.Is the effect original? No? Then why bother?Are you trying to enhance the feeling of "heat"? Try to find more creative ways to express that temperature without filters and high contrast. Or you could leave the viewer to work it out for themselves.

Damn photoshop, I'll never use you again alas...Just trying out some new stuff. I generally don't use photoshop except for cropping and minor touch-ups such as fixing blemishes on the face, whitening teeth, colors on medals. Very rare stuff. The art filters seem to have no use whatsoever. Damn that picture looks too busy.
