hey guys. i have a crappy tamron 28-80mm lens that came with my rebel xti, and im really dissatisfied. it just sucks. i have the canon 50mm f/1.8 prime as well which is loads better, but i need a wide angle lens. any help would be greatly appreciated. my dream would be the canon 10-22mm but i just dont have 600 bucks. any cheaper solutions?
pic mine, but not related

nice. this looks like its right up my alley. i eventually want to invest in a better lens. but at the moment im a poor college student and just need something to tie me over. does anyone have any shots that they took with this lens? my main concern is getting decent sharpness. the tamron is horrible when it comes to that.

sigma 10-20mm, $460. tempted me for a while, but the canon dropped to $609 so i steered away from the sigma.

Hey man.

I owned the 18-55mm kit lens.. and the range is alright. I heard the IS version is way better. If you zoom in and out quite a bit, get that. (as ac said)
However, if you enjoy taking ultra wide shots.. Look into both the Sigma 10-20mm and the Canon 10-22mm. I own the Canon and it kicks so much ass. I rarely take that lens off my xti.

yea the one im looking into is the IS version. i dont do alot of zooming actually id proly leave it on 18 for the majority of the time.
those are the two lenses that i would LOVE to have, but i cant really afford anything over $200 right now. so the 18-55 IS seems to be my best shot

If you're gonna leave it on 18 then.. .. save up for the 10-22mm.
It's a beautiful lens
