So, I've got this Coolpix camera from Nikon (high end, I know) model L18. This piece of crap has always given me battery problems and refuses to take batteries that I've had in the charger. It only seems to take non rechargables but since I never buy them, I haven't tested this theory fully. So do I have any options short of going back to Best Buy and yelling at them for a second exchange? Yes, I've had two and both had the same problem.

Pic related as it's almost exactly the same as mine.

Rechargably Energizers. I recently bought new ones along with a new charger just to see if that was the problem and I'm having the same luck. I've read that there's some problem with the camera that can be updated or something, but I can't find any more information on that.

Should I be using a different brand of batteries?

There's an option in the setup menu to tell the camera what type of batteries you have in it, but there shouldn't be an issue with rechargeable batteries. Best Buy won't help you after two weeks, so unless you're only choice is sending it to Nikon themselves for a warrantied repair.

You SHOULD be using Sanyo Eneloops for rechargable and Energizer Lithiums for sinlgle use.
