diopter correction Anonymous
ok im farsighted, but not enough to need glasses. and the little adjustment dial on the viewfinder is maxed out, looks like i need one of those correction lenses. how do i know what one i need?

Honestly, I'd just go get an eye exam. It's easier than ordering a pile of corrective lenses.

That's actually really odd, then. I know people who were given really light prescriptions but never needed to wear glasses, and got corrective eyepieces, but not anybody who didn't even get prescribed anything and still couldn't work within the camera's range.

Only thing I can suggest, is to make absolutely sure that the viewfinder's in proper order. Could be that something's out of alignment and your finder's actually blurry.

nope thats why ive been using the rangefinder. the closest i can get it to adjust is +.5 diopter, thats its limit. my AE1 is even harder since it has no internal adjustment

you either have the diopter setting on the wrong end or you do need glasses

wrong end? what i did was let the autofocus do its thing then move the knob until the image was nearly in focus.

why would a farsighted person need glasses? i can read and see the screen in front of me just fine.

I couldn't find any diopter correctors for my camera, so I just wear contacts when I'm using the camera.

It's either that, or use my old lenses from my old glasses and make my own diopter corrector.
