Dearest /p,
I have a Canon rebel XTi. this picture is shit. and I'm a total noob at setting up and understanding all the neat features of my camera? How can I stop this sadness and achieve better quality pictures? turn down the ISO?

op here. also when I shoot in RAW my pictures have pixels that are oddly colored. WTF? iso bbq?

RTFM or better yet, read up on the basics of photography. Any book out there (an instructional one rather than a picture book) will give you some insight on how cameras work. General topics include shutter speed, aperature, ISO, lighting, and hopefully a nice section on the different type of lenses and such. Even wikipedia has some stuff to say about these things as well.

But I don't exactly know what you mean by achieving better quality pictures unless you solely mean clarity. Maybe it's your technique, or the lighting. If you don't have a steady hand, use a tripod for most of your shots. Low light usually results in blurry pictures (as well as motion). To avoid this, use flash. But if you're still having trouble, bump UP the ISO, not down.
