Ok /P/hotographers, i'm taking a young lady out tomorrow for some portrait shots. We'll be out in the sun, working with an old urban enviroment.

This will be my first real attempt at trying to capture great portraits, especially using natural light.

Any big tips or suggestions?

dont do it when the sun is really bright and stuff. that lighting generally sucks for portraits.

Yea I know, i'm going to try to use the brighter parts of the day to get some shots in more shady areas, using some flash.

Using a lens hood when nescessary.

Where do you live?

right before sunset is the best kind of light, imo. Before that, pictures in bright sunlight are just boring, and you will have a better chance at getting a good shot with an overcast sky.
