The sigma 120-300 f2.8 is what I have, good lens if a bit heavy. Fredmiranda is a good place for lens reviews if you want to read up on it.

I've heard nothing but good things about the Canon 70-200 f2.8 IS. It really depends on what you're going to use it for though. If you're going on wildlife safaris maybe the 600mm f/4 IS is best but it costs over $7,000. If you're just doing portraits the 70-200 or 300 would be best. Figure out what you're going to use it for first.

Cant afford expensive lenses right now, have a shitty job...

So the 300mm f/4 IS was rather cheap, mostly it's wildlife and sport im gonna use it for...

I have 70-200 f/4 right now and Im wondering if I might miss the zoom if I get the 300mm

What about the Canon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 IS?
It's a zoom and goes all the way to 400mm. Only a couple hundred bucks more than the 300.

It's *push and pull* zoom that can gather alot of dust, and it's really soft at 400mm I belive...

Not an option really
