helicopter blades don't bend sideways like that. only vertically. i don't know how to explain the picture but i would say its definitely some kind of weird optical effect that would need scientific explanation

uh, they actually do, do some research before disproving people
>> Anonymous
i have seen this happen with video too
>> Anonymous
if a helicopter's blades were bent like that, the helicopter would not achieve flight

look at the fucking shadow morons!

correct

I'd post my current rotorcraft papers but i really cant be bothered.

I have a hunch that this phenomenon might be related to the way the CMOS sensor is read by the image processor.

Or something.

shutter travels from top to bottom. the whole scene is not exposed at once.

The farthest point of the rotor, being at the top of the frame, was exposed first. as the shutter slid down, the rotor moved. However, the 'inside' part of the rotor does not move "as much" as the 'outside' part of the rotor, resulting in the curved, parabola like shape the picture has.

end.

lol shut the fuck up

Is correct

My cell phone camera does the same thing to baseball bats and drum sticks.

Slow ass sensor.

In big cameras, it's the shutter, not the sensor.

they bend slightly vertically, but not horizontally. if they did they would lose lift.

This man speaks the truth!!

Don't you just love FP shutters?

If they bent like that during flight, there would be some serious issues in stability.
