I don't know how to use it, I think by rotating the front, but I'm pretty sure it's a device for selectively exposing one frame of film, to fit four different scenes in each of the corners. I know people have made those, and that looks like a different one I saw a photograph of once.

1. It's mostly a gimmick.
2. It's for film, so "editing" would involve the process of making four enlargements onto one piece of paper. I've never printed from film, but I've got a feeling that would be difficult.
