Thanks, I'm highly considering it.

why would you even have to consider it? do you not have a film slr? i'm really curious.

>>128032
Not the poster in question, but $123.99 plus processing for twenty rolls isn't pocket change.

>>128033

ohhh. i didn't bother to follow the link. b&h also sells individual rolls for 6.50 a piece, though.

You can buy it in single rolls, too.

I'm just waiting for it to stop being winter. Whether I'm shooting on PanF or Velvia, things in Buffalo are going to come out in grayscale right now.

>>128038
Well yeah, but a single roll is only thirty-six shots.
>> fence !!POey2hdozCZ
>>128042

what's your point?
>> Anonymous
>>128047
OP will probably want to take more than thirty-six shots on Velvia during the time the film is good.

He could buy the twenty-pack now, a large initial investment but one will save him money in the long run. He could jump in with a single roll, and buy them as he goes, but that'll cost more.

>>128049
Dammit, not OP. The guy who's considering buying Velvia. Sorry.
>> fence !!POey2hdozCZ
>>128049

i see. so you advocate... no film at all?
>> Anonymous
>>128051
That's the economical option, yes, but someone wanting the look of, say, Velvia has to use Velvia.

The person in question seems as if he's trying to decide whether:

A) Velvia is worth the extra cost to him
and/or
B) How to go about purchasing it.

Which are two things to consider, contra

That is, indeed correct. (Person considering here.) Buying a single roll is really not an option though, since shipping costs would kill the price. I'm snacking for some sweet color, but with the same amount of money I could buy some really sweet glass..
>> fence !!POey2hdozCZ
>>128054

sweet glass for 120 bucks? but, yeah. film is expensive, no doubt. you have to really want it. try a local camera shop. they're more expensive than online, but no shipping costs sometimes makes up for it.

"While the film is good"?

>>128151
Yeah, film expires after some time. It's not milk, but it does expire eventually.

Do I need to worry about the stuff you sent me Vincent? Do I need to rush out and shoot 36*3 shots tomorrow?
>> Vincent !!8LCSE0Zp1mL
>>128176
No I've only had my stuff for about 8 months and it was freezer kept the entire time.
Plus when film expires it does it slowly, you might lose a bit of contrast / saturation.
Keep the stuff I sent you in the fridge and it will probably last years.

>>128189
In the fridge or the freezer? I'll have to make some room in my dorm fridge lol.
>> Vincent !!8LCSE0Zp1mL
>>128207
Either or, But let the film warm up in the cannister before putting it in the camera, Condensation sucks!

Let it expire. Lomo tiem.
