Dear /p/, I come from another board seeking your help.

I'm looking for an inexpensive camera for general use, you know, family photos and such. Nothing fancy and doesnt need to be top of the line either, workhorse models if you wish.

Thanks in advance, in return, original content from one of my holiday photos.

OP here, just to add, I wont be buying any additional acessories except maybe a tripod or a larger memory card. I currently use an IXUS 70 and something similar in performance would just be about right.

Pretty much anything Canon. If you look on dpreview.com, it'll have all the models.

Get something with a 1/1.8" sensor (or thereabouts) over something with a 1/2.5" sensor (or thereabouts); it'll give you better quality. It'll list what size it is on the DP review page.

It'll list it under "sensor size."

I'm telling you this because I don't know exactly what you're looking for in the camera. Should take two minutes on that page for you. Good luck.
