Got to play with an E-510 today.

<-- Kit lenses at 14mm/f8, SHQ JPEG, everything on auto, noise filter OFF, sharpness 0 for E-500 and -2 for E-510.

Why the fuck does the E-510 apply noise filtering at ISO 100-400 and smudge all the small details is beyond me. Way to fail, Olympus. (Thankfully, that shit can be turned off)

Another weird thing. I played with menus in E-510, then put the card back into E-500, and it started up with the exact same settings I set on the E-510! Does the camera store its settings on the CF card somewhere or what?

Oh, turns out the newest ACR supports E-510 raws, although it isn't on Adobe's list. Here's the same pic made from RAW and with some NeatImage.
