if not - he's full of shit, stock photography means photos that the photographer has no rights to. They get sold to a company that lets you buy something like TEN MILLION FREE IMAGES OF DOGS FUCKING ON ONE GREAT DVD FOR ONLY 29.95.

It's almost always a ripoff for the photographer and is only a good idea if you don't care about your photos' rights and want to see them plastered on every popup ad and shitty sales brochure until the end of time.
