So i'm not sure exactly what the problem is, If I didn't have a D50 I would get a D40 since its high ISo's are very nice and much better than my older D70s. I have a Sigma 10-20, 18-70, 80-200 and 105 that would all work on it, And I woulnd't miss my 24mm f1.8 and 50mm f1.8 all that much since they would be on my backup body.
Of course considering I have about 4000$ in lenses, I can probably afford to pick up a D80 or D200, (which I can) I just don't feel the need to. So my D50 and D70s will work fine.
