How do you get this sort of look in Photoshop? I don't really know how to explain it, but I've seen it in several other photos and forum sigs.

The 80's type of pictures?

not sure in photoshop but iirc it's due more to the paper and less the camera. (if that helps you figure out what type of filters, etc to use)

because trends and history repeats itself
a lot of old styles often get emulated, music, photography, art, movies.. everything
that and it looks good

>>180161
Wtf? Maybe because film looks so much better?
Also, who said OP pic is digital?

They're both probably hated because they bitch and moan like little faggots

I don't think film looks like this at all, the crazy wannabe cross processing is all over flickr and deviantart and all that...

christ... just shoot film if you want the look. I personally like the ultra sharp images digital offers... though i would like the soft film touch sometimes... but that's why i got that alien exposure... it's pretty good.

Oh and this is colour curves. Not difficult to replicate at all

holy shit i didnt know beethy was a pretty good artist

I think beethy is a pretty cool guy, eh draws, fotos and doesn't afraid of anything
>> beethy !HJGkSBB3Ao
Whoa funny you guys found me there as I haven't drawn anything since October, but thanks for the compliments on my crappy art skills /p/.

After reading through some of the comments. I dunno, I don't think I'm anywhere near as technically skilled as Pskaught.. I think he has a better eye at composition also than I have, I'm a real casual photographer... so don't compare me to him, it's silly
My earlier comment in this thread still stands though... people always try to recreate old styles, and there's nothing wrong with that. If you don't like certain photoshop techniques (like mine), that's fine too.
Just try to bring up valid points so I can assess and improve

Did that make sense? Hahah I hope so

What I remember most of beethy's work was the stuff with Hello Kitty gas mask girl, and that was a pretty unique opportunity ruined by his insistence on only using one lens (or only showing us stuff from the UWA)

Bandwagon aside I suppose I ought to see more of his stuff.

Yeah I agree, that whole 'shoot' was a mess though. I could've done much better had I been more creative and switched to the 100mm or 50mm
I learned from that mistake though

well that surprised me in a good way

I wish we had some mods and/or janitors on /p/. This thread almost got me into trouble today at work.
