I'd like it without the dude and the bench maybe.

Otherwise, 8/10.

The shadow on the foreground is an excellent visual. For me its broken up by the joe sitting on the bench. Its good, I know i'd be proud if i'd taken it. :D

8/10

Could benefit from a wider angle, expanded upwards and a tighter crop on either side for a less snapshot feel.

the tree/dude are really black, and the roof on that building is really white.

the high contrast is killing me.

the contrast is only +8

Same photo from the front...

I think it's great. Guy adds a human element to it. Reminds me of Koudelka just a little bit.

It doesn't matter what the setting is, it matters how it looks. And it looks too high. Just back it off one or two. And the roof is bright enough to be distracting.

i'd have to agree, i like waht this anon did

I prefer the original slightly over the crop. I think both are good.

The original has a darker, more sinister feel from the shadows in the foreground. The crop feels a bit lighter - a dude just enjoying a nice day in the park.

My advice to OP: go with whichever you like the feel of more.

yeah l2?

now looking at it, i think i would change my mind and go with the original from waht the above person stated, now looking closer at it, and not trying to focus soloy on the subject, i see what you were saying here, the sinister feel is pretty sweet, and hard to capture, i was just simply over looking it

( im the person that threw togeather the crop )

Original works better - crop comes in too close to the bench
>> Anonymous

i don't care how you edited it, its too bright outside=harsh shadows=no good.

also, crop is so lame.

Some of us like harsh shadows. (Not the OP)

And by "not the OP," I mean I'm not the OP. I rather like the OP picture, including its harsh shadows, and I assume he likes harsh shadows, too.

OP, how is that SD1000 treating you? Right now I'm looking for a digital camera and I've came to stumble upon that. Do you like it so far? Would you recommend it to me?

it's good if you have chdk. I shoot in raw with it but sometimes raw doesn't save like with this photo.
