You're right. Perhaps it's easy for me to say because I'm a commercial-oriented photographer who uses small flashes a lot.
Joe McNally is an american photog, born in Mont Clair, NJ, and is a staff shooter for National geographic since 1987. He's worked for many major publishers and vehicles (Life, Time, SI, ESPN, Fortune) and did advertisement for Nike, GE, Sony and others. He was the guy who used the biggest Polaroid camera in the world in his major 2001 exhibition "Faces of Ground Zero". He's overall a very knowleadgeble guy, and some months ago he released a damn fine book called "The moment it clicks", that rose to Amazon Top-500 in the first week of sales (That's the Top 500 of all site, not just books, not just photography). He has a blog, a very good read.
