Do want.

>>109289
Kinda do want.

>>109287
Looks cartoonishly and ugly.
>> Chib
>>109290
First shot on this strip was the best, 2 and 3 have people walking around and 4 shes cropped.

>>109287
jesus no.

>>109289
best of the 3
>> Vincent
1 = Too much HDR (Though tone it down and you have a win pic)
2 = Too much scene girl (Focus is a tad off too, Always keep at least one eye (the closest eye usually) in sharp focus
3 = Lots of win, Love a girl who can go all out when posing. (they are usually a pain in the ass IRL, but at least in pics they look good)

4, I bet shes an exhibitionist.
>> Anonymous
>>109287
It's ok. Nothing wrong with it, just typical deviantart quality. I bet the turds from DA are already crawling all over this one.

>>109289
I like this one

>>109290
Lol, blown highlights.
>> Liquefied !!CF1+3tSFCce
Too much glowy HDR bullshit going on in the first one.

Second is a nice angle but it could use a little bit of touching up in my opinion. Her skin gets pretty blotchy in some spots, maybe because of the lighting.

Third I like a lot, are you planning on presenting them in a set that way? The post processing is also good.
>> Anonymous
>>109298
on the 3rd.. yea, i'll present it in that way, i felt it only worked in a series.

to everyone else, on all your points on the HDR.. i can actually agree, i'll try to redo it and tone down several values.

ac, thanks! brutally honest, i like.

vincent, thanks.. useful critique. 4, yea i think so also. gonna try a more risque shoot with her next, since she loved the shots.

namefags, should i become a namefag? i've been on /p/ for over a year.
>> Chib
>>109302
namefag it up, only reason I bother is so that the few times i can actually go out and shoot theres some consistancy when people critique
>> Anonymous
Oh god, are you the TRUE HDR whiny little bitch from yesterday?

are you the failfag from yesterday?
>> Anonymous
>>109339

There was more than one. I'm one of them.
>> gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaabe Anonymous
waaaaaaaaaaay too over edited.
can see sooo many flaws
i real photographer doesn't need to do that much.
raw talent is what you need.
you just have a pretty girl. lets see some actual talent.
>> Anonymous
I actually like the HDR in the first one.
>> Mesh !!/BUEfj+JBnB
>>109290
Really like the pictures, would you be willing to share some of what you did in post-processing?

Good choice in headphones too, sennheisers rock!
>> Anonymous
>>109407

It's TRUE HDR, lol
>> Lynx !!KY+lVSl0s2m
I think the first one would rock a little toned down, just feels like too much going on color wise.
On the second one, the out of focus parts are distracting, especially the lock and the bracelets, if it were a little sharper I'd love it, but it's still a nice shot.
I don't like how not all of her body made it into the series pics, but I like the idea anyways, great model also.

talk to your model more. the way she's posing makes her look awkward and it looks like she has short, stubby legs.
>> eku !8cibvLQ11s
>>109287
Colors are... Intresting. The pose looks like she's some kind of doll or something. Don't know if that's good or bad thing.
And Holiday Inn.

>>109289
Not much to say here, except the DOF is a bit too wide for this kind of shot. If it only would be in her eyes, and not on the headphones... And maybe a bit lower angle.

>>109290
Give her more room. I didn't like the way her hands were cut off.
And third one... Her jaws (or rather the area around it) looks bit wierd, maybe.

Almoast great photos.
>> pskaught
>>109287
I think you spent too much time on the background and not enough on the model. too much HDR, not enough lens flare.

>>109289
really good. no critique necessary.

Pay attention to distracting elements in the background that detract from her. Like.. trashcans.

>>109287
she doesn't fill the frame enough and she blends in to the background too much. Try to keep her out of the center of the frame, still.

>>109289
I agree that this one is good.

>>109290
Be careful on where you crop, like the top of her hands, her elbow, etc. Slow down and try to compose a little better- as I've learned, the last thing you want to do is crop at the joints. Crop between instead.
>> angrylittleboy !wrJcGUHncE
>>109287
HDR levels over 9000. Too cartoony.

>>109289
I think this is the best out of the three

>>109290
You chopped off her hands and elbows
>> beethy
>>109407
Keep an eye on my dA.. I'll be posting post processing steps depending on demand
>> beethy
>>109439
I'm a fag who doesn't adjust F stop enough, or at all really.
On the 3rd one I should've stood farther back, mistake I won't make again.
>>109476
lesson also learned.. i'll remember to actually move shit in the bg around more when doing street model shots. or just walk to a new location.
i also agree with the cropping on the 3rd, i actually had to lose a huge area on the right.. because of fugly trash bins in the shot.

Thanks heaps /p/
So far you guys are more helpful than any forum or community on the net.
actual real critique is hard to find.
it's worth posting here, even with the over abundance of failfags.

thanks again. :]

No offence mate, but this coming from someone with a Deviantart account? Kettle calling the Teapot Black and all that jazz.

>>109289

Is the top DoF or PP?

Also as mentioned before, she has lovely legs but in every shot it looks ... wrong? like try some different poses that may help the look of the legs.

Sorry about critique, but i haven't really worked with posing models all that much so can't offer on what to do.
>> beethy
>>109517
I'm aware dA has more fail than the whole internets combined. :/

And, you caught me.. the top is shop'd. Fake ass DoF. I made up for lack of good centering with focus with PS.
It seems I compensate a lot with photoshop where my photography actually falls short, sometimes it works.. sometimes it doesn't.

Technically, you're about average. Creatively... your pictures show nothing more than what was there. Good for commercial food/still life, not so good for arty-farty stuff.

Still, as you are a beginner, not bad, for a beginner.
>> Anonymous
>>109545
No, it never works. Good post processing can do a lot with good photography, but no matter how much you shop a shitty photo it's still going to be shitty.
>> Anonymous
>>109559

Please tell me you are joking or you nailed it... cause $400 is a rip off. Either way....
>> Anonymous
these pictures are a lot better WITHOUT the HDR. HDR is a fad , its technically and artistically on the same level of any photoshop filter.

th good news is that your photos that arnt photoshopped up the ass in>>109290
are good.
>> Anonymous
For that kind of money I'd oblige her by pushing her stool in.

>> Anonymouse !!h5ALjqgB4DE
>>109713
You realize that just isn't true right? You can photoshop a photo into anything at all assuming you've got time to burn and lots of skills. You can't use levels and curves to make a shitty photo good however.
>> Anonymous
>>109952
I don't think that's really true. At some point with enough compositing and editing it quits being a photo. I think that once you add or remove key elements from a photo, you cross the line into CG so I stand by my statement that you can't photoshop a shitty photo good.
