lots of people just pass by here on their way to the freeway, we're the outlet for one of the few roads that cross the mountains.

Nice pictures though I think the black and white takes the feeling that the assignment is going for away.

Nice pictures, what film is it? (inb4 flamed when its digital) but i think you've failed the challenge. There doesnt seem to be any theme in them, just random photos of a town. Also they are very _black_

Good. The others don't really say anything without the captions, but those two are good. I really like the one of the kid.

I think I would have liked this a bit more without the Jack In The Box sign poking up out of the fire truck. But it's otherwise a good shot. Gives a good sort of impression of the overall landscape of the town.

I get what you were trying to do there, but only because of the caption spelling it out. Looks a bit too much like an accidental shutter actuation rather than a planned shot.

Flat-out win.

>>142910
Good shot, but not sure it really conveys what you're saying in the caption. I.e., I really like this shot, but not for this specific purpose.

This one and the shot of the kid on the mound of dirt are my favorites in the series. I think it would be a bit better without so much blank sky, though. Maybe crop it into a more panoramic aspect ratio? Or take it again on a day with dramatic clouds?

Another "I get what you were going for, but it looks kind of snapshotty"

actually i sort of planned it differently than it came out, if you look carefully you can make out what looks like a circular smudge near the mountain. that's the moon, i guess the contrast just wasnt high enough to bring it out though.

Yeah, I assumed that was a water spot.

if any of you guys handle film by yourself alot, what the hell do you do to keep it from getting scratched? i had to spend about an hour in PS making these look somewhat ok

Er. Don't scratch it?

What exactly have you been doing?

i never touch it with my bare hands, i never let it touch something that isnt air, lens cloth, or a vinyl negative protector. i sort of squeegee the film when it's wet with a lens cloth, but that's really the only time i actually mess with the frame part of the film. is the film extra-prone to scratching during that time or something?

I think these are fantastic, I especially love the first and the filth, feels like they really capture a wholesome feeling. Also, the black and white film really gives off a home-town feel. Awesome!

I think describing a 'small town' in speckled b&w film really sets the mood because it reminds me of pictures my parents and grandparents would show me of their teen years, and while only being snapshots, leave me with a lingering nostalgia I never really experienced.

I know the last bit seems random, I'm having trouble writing my thoughts literary.

Patience, young padawan! Let it dry on its own.

ah, ok :( i just figured since im too much of a jew to buy photo-flo that keeping water on there might screw with it

Photo-flo costs like $5 for a bottle that will last you a decade.

If you're too cheap to buy photo-flo (it's dirt cheap, seriously) then use dish soap. It's the same thing.
