The photos are technically well done, but creatively don't much interesting. As has been said, the subject matter is old hat, vanilla, as is presented in what seems like a pretty uninteresting fashion.>>40439and>>40440are the only two that interested me, and even then the composition is too plain to be more than decent.
Re: the portrait>>40553- background is far too distracting, and the overall composition is poor, centered right on his face and all, and the rest of his body in the corner of the frame like an afterthough. Too much of the photo is just background that adds nothing and detracts from your subject.
It seems like you've got decent technical ability and an eye to see interesting things, so keep on taking lots of photos and you'll definitely improve. Eventually you'll gain more awareness of the background and how to use it, and you'll start seeing more creative possibilities for framing a subject you like.
