The only one that's availible new that'll meter with the D50 is the 45mm pamcaeks lens. It's actually pretty nice and very small.
If you don't care about metering, there's a shitton of good lenses to choose from

The 45 is an unbelievable, gorgeous, fantastic lens. I can't say enough good things. It'll make your D50 into practically the size of a point-and-shoot, too.

If you want a cheaper prime though, you can't go wrong with Nikon's 50mm f/1.8. You can manual focus with it, and it's got gorgeous bokeh, and can shoot damn near anywhere with that big ol' aperture.

the nikkor 50 (especially the AF 1.8) is known for a lot of things, but I wouldn't say great bokeh is one them.

Well bokeh is important to me. So is it excellent or minimal bokeh?

It's no noctilux, but it'll do, especially for the price. It's razor sharp too. Just shot this yesterday.

It is a delicious bokeh. You must shoot it.
