Hmmm, not sure what to say. I guess they're decent enough, and the shot of the girl has nice dof...

The best shot. I just wish it was a bit brighter.

I had to edit the colors. It was just way too green. There's no variation in the colors. I don't know if you did this yourself in post, or just left it as it was after you shot it, but I think if you played around with the levels a bit in photoshop, it would make these much better.

Aside from the crop, that was straight out of the camera. Honestly, I really only do post-production on my pictures if I'm going to print or publish them.

I appreciate the edit, but I think I still prefer the warm, sunny tone of the original.

Heavyweather, these are some really nice shots of food. I've always had a hard time trying to photograph dishes. Any tips or is it just your camera?

Heh, I hope it's not just the camera.

A few tips: find a nice angle, something that isn't completely perpendicular to your food.
Limit your depth of field as much as possible. Fast glass helps here, but otherwise use as long a focal length as you can, space permitting.
Lighting. Lighting lighting lighting. Without pleasant lighting, you won't get a good picture. How you interpret this is up to you, and it's what you need to train your eye to recognize more than anything.
Try to get more than just the food in the shot. Not so much as to be distracting, like a person eating (ugh), but just a few details, like a glass, or the surroundings. In a nutshell, don't neglect your background.

Pic related: my lunch today! I highly recommend this place.

Try eating manlier foods than those pictured here. The photos come out better if they're of beer and pizza and chittlins and the like. Grease and aluminum are also reflective, so you can get some nice lens flair going with proper flash placement.

Props. The colors are beautiful.

Thanks for the tips. Also on a side note, I see you live near Austin, Texas.

'Cause remember, everyone: It's the camera that takes the pictures, not the photographer. ;)

And that crop sucks. Can't say weither it's possible to do better, but sucks none the less.

Too shallow in attached photo.

This one is the best, easily. It makes one want to talk to the subject, which I think is a pretty good criterion for a portrait.
