Dear /p/today I bought a Nikon D40 (my first SLR) for $600+tax, which (along with the camera) included:-1 gig SD card-Nikon bag (which includes 75 page book/guide on shooting photos)-UV protector-3 year extended warranty-DVD on helping you use the D40-Lens cleaner tissuesComment too long. You got ripped off.Other then the waranty, you could've gotten it for much cheaper. Those extra additions such as UV protector are just useless, get a real filter and invest in a better lens.
It wasn't actually a rip off, you just could have gotten a better deal. That's basically what you could have got it for when it was new.
i think its fine, nothing to lose sleep over.the UV filter is fine too, and the kit lens is more than enough for you.
uh, it sounds fine. for the extra $100 you got like about a $100 worth of stuff you needed.
I bet in a few months or in a year you'll switch to a D80. I swear.
Depends also on what currency you bought it with. The D40 goes for about $900 in Australia
>>79880That's A$, not $.
Mine only came with two lenses, the dvds, instruction butts and warranties, but the 200mm lens that came with it is pretty awesome. IT only cost me $550, but that's because my brother works at circuit city and helped me out.
