Hey /p/, I've recently come into possession of a Canon EOS 400D and I was wondering your opinions on this camera?

It's main use will be high shutter speed exposures for motor sport purposes, and from a quick test (the waving hand test!) and other things, it seems good, setting it on a 1/4000 Shutter with ISO 200 seems to deliver good results, but I still ask of you..

Opinions, and is it worth the $900?

Good camera: Yes.
Worth $900: Hells no. It sells brand new for under $600 with kit lens. Where the hell did you buy it for $900? Or are those not US dollars?

Well, I'm a Britfag, so, I bought it for about £450, and just didn't bother looking up the price in USD, so just doubled it..

However, that is what I paid for it, and *everything* is more expensive in Britain.

Ahhh. That makes more sense (and also explains why you said 400D instead of Rebel XTi). And $900 is actually pretty close to the current exchange rate. Man, you guys get seriously raeped over there.

Seriously, $900? You should've just ordered from germany, would've costed you 477 euro for the body, 530 euro for the kit!

God, It's less expensive in finland for chtists sake.

Amazon has it for £400, and Amazon is usually pretty cheap. Major raepage.

Even for a UK price, you got raped if that wasn't a good bundle you got with the body. Remember to get the cashback at least.

You could get the 400D with the kit lens for £399 and then save another £50 with the cashback, meaning it costs £350.

It's a great camera with a crappy grip and viewfinder. :)
