Go in early with some of those little round colored stickers, like what people use for price discount labels in stores. Or post-it notes. Or whatever. Figure out a set-up that will work. Be creative; don't be afraid to make it interesting or unusual: if it's private work, it's private, if it's commercial, you'll stand out from the competition, which is better (so long as you do it well) than just copying the norm. Use coatracks or whatever as models in advance.
Lay down a post-it note (both of the same color) for where each person's feet will go. When they arrive, hand them each a post-it note color-coded to where they are to stand. To underscore the point, get another color, and put them right where your feet will be behind the camera.
And since they can't speak English, there's no need to verbally articulate anything, no need to be all "a little to the left," no need for all the little phrased pleasantries photographers usually have to use to pose their subjects. It's all there on the floor for them, in pretty Velvia colors.
