I'm just going to go ahead and assume no one here has used Zazzle.

Well now i have, but I hadn't before
I personally don't think artwork sells online, As a photographer (not pro) myself I would never buy someone elses work if it wasn't already printed and framed, because I find that the framing is a personal choice, and should fit the picture. Also there is no such thing as a perfect frame, the choice is also the photographers preference.

That said if I REALLY liked a picture I may buy one, but i would need to see it IRL, and I'm a little broke so it would have to be reasonably priced. I think the zazzle prices are quite reasonable, But i'm not sure how your 350d is going to be able to print at any larger than 16x20.... hell even 15.5 x 22 like you have must be like 150-190 dpi.. which will look pixelated..

Another problem I find with these type sites (like zazzle) is that no-one browses them but other photographers. My cousin uses smugmug, and ive seen a few others but the only reason I know of them is because they linked me.

So personally I think you need your own domain, and a website (Even if it just links to one of these sites).
I have sold 4 photographs in my life. All were framed, All were large panoramics (12" x 36"), And I made approx 40% on each picture (sold them for 300$), Definitely not enough to be worth it.

I don't mean to discourage you with my above rant, BUT I think you won't see enough traffic or sales to make a site like zazzle worth it.

The true money in photography is the "service" people will hire you for things like weddings, and if your lucky sports shoots, Concerts, gigs, etc. (Maybe commercial advertising, though studiowork is usually left to other studio companies)

Get out and shoot some weddings as a backup, People are more willing to pay for something if they are in it. So making people look good is a BIG deal. Marketing yourself is also a big deal, Never admit your just starting out, and never say you don't have the equipment!

Also I'm not a huge fan of that picture, the DOF feels too large and the subject isn't big enough maybe? Lighting is nice but a bit distracting on the background leaves.

People like simple pictures when it comes to scenery, Surreal looking landscapes, Macro shots of single flowers, single bugs, high contrast backgrounds, they all look good on walls, But the busier the picture is the harder it is to fit in with the furniture.

*ahem* I do have a website: see URL I posted asking for Zazzle feedback. ;)

But yeah, I actually hate how Zazzle doesn't let me choose a frame and layout and force people to buy just that combination... I should be able to.

Also re: DPI, I don't follow the 300 DPI rule, from what I've seen on anything bigger than 11x14, 200 dpi works fine.

At no point does DPI drop below 100, so, theoretically, it shouldn't look like shit, though just like the framing thing, I wish Zazzle would let me set maximum size; for this shot I'd like to remove out the largest size.
