Dear /p/,

I just came back from a long excursion of Black Friday, which basically I'll say ended in moderate failure with an aftertaste of success. I went in thinking that I had to get a digital point and shoot camera that was good, and at first that looked impossible. Now it's 20 minutes after noon and I can safely say that I've come out finished. I got the Canon Powershot SD1000, with 7.1 megapixels and 3x optical zoom, which is all pretty standard. In fact, for a Canon it's all pretty much par for the course. The camera is outstanding, the menu is nice, the battery is phenomenal, and the lens is clean and crisp for a 7.1 MP camera.

Its macro option, something I shudder to think might have been intended for legitimate use, is incredible, detailing every single hair follicle within the frame and focus area. My image is a picture of my eye with some hair in front of it, and I was blown away by how every single strand of hair was right there, clearly identifiable with the camera.

Forgive me if I look tired. I haven't slept in a few days.

Also, I'm a guy who just hasn't cut his hair in a while. It's usually time, but now I've spent a hefty sum on Black Friday and need to save money for gas this week.

Fucking gas prices...

Got one too. Just watch out for dust on the lens and red eye. Haven't seen more red eyes on a camera since I got this one. Have heard the same in reviews of the camera.

Yeah, I've been noticing that too. It's funny because the light isn't as close to the lens as it is on some OTHER cameras that I've seen lately *cough* Samsung *cough*.

But I can fix red-eye on the computer, and the automatic feature in-camera is good too.
