Mont. Ward 706/Viceroy 209 Anonymous
Recently came into possession of fairly old video camera. Labelling and handwritten notes included suggest it's a Montgomery Ward Model 706. Documentation suggest Viceroy Model 209.
Any info on either or both?

Pic shitty but related.

Meese, stop it. There's no other board for him to go to with this, unless you suggest he goes to /tv/.

Also, videography is arguably a form of photography.

Does that look like video to you? You should learn the difference between video and film.

It's an old super8 camera.

You can still get film at reasonable prices, just search for super8 film. Normal films nowadays include color reversal (Ektachrome 64t) black and white reversel (plus-x, tri-x, fomapan), and color negative (vision series).

Shut up, newfag. /p/ has been used for video and filmography since it has been created.

Also, I win. (Beaulieu 4008 ZM II > any other super8)

I lie utterly in defeat. That thing is beautiful. What the fuck are those telescoping things around the lens assembly?

Here's another one I have, much more recent (from around 1994 I think?)

One of them is zoom control, the other is just there for design. Interchangeable lenses, and a stepless framerate up to 72fps.

That videocamera is a video8 camera, quite common, though I've heard the pro versions can still make some decent footage. You might even be able to get new blank tapes at your regular electronic/vid store.
If it works, that is. Old video8 cameras have the habbit of breaking due to leaking capicitators.

Nice. I'm still trying to get my hands on a good Bolex 8mm camera, maybe a P1.. Have you ran any film through it?

Small question, does it have a separate viewfinder, or a reflex viewfinder?
