I know a lot of people who are using a bathtub to develop film. just make sure it's kept at the right temperature.

Should give you enough for a start. And bathtub seems like an overkill. I just line some old newspapers and plastic wrap over them on my 100x50 cm desk, and that's just enough. I keep a bowl big enough to hold beakers with solutions on the floor, it's half-filled with water 2-3 Celsius cooler than desired solution temperature (because room temp is usually higher than what you want). I only move to the bathroom after pouring the fixer back to it's beaker, because the 20 seconds it takes me to go there and set up running water wash won't make a difference.

Seems like I have the same exact tank as in the picture, btw.

You didn't say which type of film. B&W is a cakewalk compared to c-41 or e-6.

My photo club instructor used to say "Black and white is very forgiving", but after learning to develop for ambient temperature, purity of water, and other factors, I found out that black and white is not so much forgiving as it is tolerant.

Try photo.net as it has forums for all types of photography. Best of luck!
