the death of polaroid.

discuss.
>> Anonymous
I'd hit it.

Didn't someone step in to fill that gap yet? I remember there being talks, or the possibility of them.

There's still Fuji, of course.

digital camera's did

Nicely done.

Agreed.
If polaroids were really killed by trendy girls, then that wouldn't be killing. If they were popular like that again, the factories obviously wouldn't have shut down.

i think they would have their place if they could make the cameras and cartridge smaller

maybe some kind of credit card sized compact that prints out thumbnail sized prints

patent pending
>> Blackadder !!bSWRwu/NqzQ
>>163635

I think they already tried that. I seem to remember an instant camera printing out small stickers like that.

Yeah, it basically printed out shots the size of a 35mm negative.

It failed miserably, as I recall.
>> Blackadder !!bSWRwu/NqzQ

I also remember it being used for things like taking pictures of people's dicks and then sticking them in public places or on someone's car window.

The Polaroid i-Zone™

Stupidest fucking idea in the world, since it cost about $1/shot, same as the regular Polaroid film.

Bitches should have concentrated on driving down the per-shot cost, not on making faggoty toys for children.

Problem was they had zero competition until digital. And when digital came around, they got thoroughly fucked by Moore's Law--by the time they'd realized that there was someone competing with them, we were shooting with sub-1000 digital SLRs.

We might have had cheap Polaroids if they hadn't won the lawsuit against Kodak for instant film. And that might have allowed them to survive a bit longer than they did.

(I don't count the current polaroid as survival, since they're basically just a name slapped onto other people's products now)

2003? nah, no way

earlier than that, they had good enough compact point and shoots way before 2003

The Polaroid SX-70 was one of the sexiest cameras ever made.

I don't really care that polaroid is going down. I use Fuji FP-100C which is $2 cheaper on a pack of 10 than 669 Polacolor.

4x5 polaroids had lifelike texture. ;_;

I have some polaroid film that says it expired in 1994, do you think anyone will buy it?

Some interesting news about Polaroid just turned up: http://www.uscsfp.org/id20.html

That was unexpected, to say the least.

Does the FP-100C fit in Polaroids that take polaroid 600 cameras?
Ebay sellers keep promoting that stuff and I'm confused...

>>163635
Instax Mini did that too...
Fancy small camera that pops out reasonable Instant photos.
Camera is quite pricy though...

FP-100C is peel apart film for camera backs. I don't know if Fuji makes the 600 stuff.
