>>130902 heh, if you know a thing or two about Nissan engines, the RD28 is a 2.8L Diesel. Its a solid cast iron block with an aluminum head. The head is the weakest point of the whole engine so this is why we are replacing it with a cast iron head from a LD28 (an older version of the RD28). The real beauty of the project is that the engine is an R series thus any R series addon will bolt onto it without any problems. This includes any after market addon designed for Skylines and any RB engine. The diff you see is a LSD from a Skyline GTS25T. The car we are using is a Nissan Laurel Medalist. Any Skyline product will bolt right into it including suspension, gearboxes and other things.
The RD28 is a super solid engine, the conrods, bearings and crank are bigger and stronger than a RB26DETT (Skyline GTR). And being diesel, its a lot easier to tune and less things to worry about like pre-destination.
