Hey /p/, I can buy a Canon 7 with a 50mm f/1.2 lens for around $550. Yay or Nay?

Everyone can, because they're Buy It Now for that price on eBay. I actually get the feeling that's where you saw it at.

Actually, I found it in Hidalgo. Filipinos would know this place. Great place for cameras old and new alike.

Since Carlo's friend takes shitty film pictures; so they're ALWAYS lomo...

I'm having trouble looking up the price of the 50/1.2, but I'll tentatively say that it's a good deal provided that both are in good condition.

Do remember that for all its awesomeness, the Canon 7 is essentially meterless and is rather big and boxy compared to other rangefinders of its day (Canon P, Canon VI, Leicas)

Hah, I already have a Canon A-1 actually. I was at Hidalgo looking to get it looked at because of light leaks. They taught me how to seal it back up using the light seal on film canisters.

Depending on the type, that's not a bad price.

Apparently, most of the lomo faggots here in Manila think "old film camera = lomo".

OP:
Not worth it. I checked that same Canon 7 and the rangefinder mechanism was broken.

And yeah, they're the ones who are driving the price of old film cameras here off the roof.

If OP was looking for an SLR he'd tell us. Since any idiot can buy a decent one easily these days, if he's asking about an RF he's probably looking for something specific.
