I have about 100 pictures I need to get converted into digital format (probably on a cd). Am I better off going to a generic place like a CVS, Walgreens, etc or should I try and find a specialty shop? How much will either option cost me for that many pictures?

Call and ask them whether they're better than a specialty shop? Gee, I wonder what they'll say.

Yeah, because you can't find that information if you call?

If the price was my main question it would've been the first question, not the second one.

It won't matter if you're converting to digital format. I work in the lab at an amateur photography store. It honestly won't make a difference. If you were printing, however, that would be a different story.
My store's a little expensive, ~$7 CAD to convert files to CD/DVD. You should be able to get it cheaper.
