i'm not too fond of that picture (yet)..
the main issue here i guess is composition. the image seems rather linear and flat, perpendicular/aligned, because there is something like a 'line of focus' across the table, which runs almost horizontally. this order is then amplified by the cards which lie perpendicular to that line. and i think, this kind of kills the tension. so i would suggest another angle, maybe more from the left, across the public cards. furthermore the cards on the left are cut off, hmwell, 'ugly'? .. i mean, it's not an aesthetic line across the set of cards, it seems more random. plus it isn't really clear what those black things in the lower right corner are (reversed cards?).. and i don't see why you placed them in the picture like this. they're blurry and don't really add something to the picture, i mean, they could as well be omitted.
and well.. last but not least, i think it could use some more contrast. i like that the cards aren't plain white, which gives the image a kind of gloomy mood, but i mean more contrast to enhance the edges and make it more distinct. also, maybe you could use the burn/dodge-tool here (burn the upper left corner for instance) to focus the view on the center of the picture and to add some additional depth.
