Has anyone tried creating an HDR image using only one RAW file as a source? You can use Camera Raw to save different exposed images and then use an EXIF stripper on it, except when I ran it through Merge to HDR in Photoshop, it got all weird..

Any tips? Will I end up having to do it by hand?

i really only create my hdr's from raws. I create 5 different exposed jpegs from photoshop (-3.0, -1.5, 0, 1.50, 3.0) and then use photomatix to merge it to HDR. Works fine for me.

Sorry, but you're doing it wrong.

Can't get more data from just one exposure.
