Lookin to get myself a flash for my D70, had my eye on both the SB 600 and 800. Can anyone tell me if the extra cash is worth it for the 800? any reasons why or why not?pic related: SB 600
i think the back of the SB800 looks better.
While I understand function over form, I have no issue wrapping elastics or tape on my flash for gels or diffusers.Why do the Nikon strobes looks horribly ancient compared to the Canon ones?
Canon strobes are just getting what nikon strobes had 15 years ago.
>>125887>>125890Thats great, but what about the 600/800?
>>125877Do you need TTL?Get a 600Do you need a huge GN and more power options(if you have to google GN, you don't)?Get an 800Do you just want a good cheap flash?Get a 27
>>125911thank you very much good sir.
>>125911Yep. I'm picking up an 800 in a couple of weeks for my N80. All of that extra power is worth the extra dollars for me.
>>125932N80->D80, of course
so what's GN
>>126014it's a measure of how bright a flash is.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guide_number
SB-800 if you already have an SB-600SB-800 if you want RPTSB-600 if you don't say yes to either one of those.
>>126014Google. Now.
If you think your getting more than one flash later on, get the sb 800. if not, get the sb600. The 800 can be used as a master whereas the 600 could only serve as a slave.
