If it's darkroom, use the B shutter speed, and a tripod.

Point it at the sky.
Then hold it for a length of time. Experiment

You're not going to get a large and detailed shot of the moon with a P&S under normal circumstances. You're only going to get a small moon with a black sky (and possibly whatever clouds or urban lighting is around).

Remember the full moon is quite bright at night. Expose for it rather than the dark.Your flash isn't going to do much good either, ahem. Probably should just turn that off next time. Play around with the exposures and you'll get something decent. Try and eliminate camera shake if you can.

You might get something decent. Just don't expect the same as people with telescopes that spend years at this!

I dont get it, when some faggot with shitty P&S comes here and he doesn know damn, people help him. When someone actually asks a good question its like SAGE

OP, use flash it WILL reach the moon.

This is true. An imperceptible amount of light will reach the moon. Even if we had a flash that was bright enough to make a difference it would a shutter speed of just under three seconds or there abouts to actually be recorded. You are a bad man. :P
