i hate to bump my pwn threads and justify my own work but wheni saw this flower with its surrounding branches, i thought it was a unique sort of thing that isn't seen a lot. it kind of frames itself by extending its own stems forward around the flower. by taking this shot, i meant to catch it sort of exerting itself in the general direction that it's pointing, kind of expanding or exploding outwards and forwards to the left with the flower as the main focus, and i mean t for the background to be lush and green towards its base and less verdant in the direction it was pointing. like i was characterizing the flower as being explorative.

so any C&C at all would help. i know this isn't high quality work but it never will be if no one tells me why it isn't yet.

Like the exposure, and the branches, but they blend into the background too easily, so they're harder to notice. Out of curiosity, do you have any other shots of it? Have you tried to come at it from a different direction, like, underneath it so the flower juxtaposes with the (hopefully) blue sky above it? Or to come at it from above? Why not come directly at it from the front? Those branches look like little alien tentacles that are checking everyone out who looks at it from that direction. The spiderweb on it is a little distracting, with the white fuzzies on it.

Aside from that, it's cool. Does that help?

That's what I noticed, not enough contrast with the background.

How does one increase contrast in an image without any post processing? Is it just framing or would a polarizer help?
