I recently acquired a Minolta 5000AF with a (i think kit maybe) 50mm 1.7 lens.
Is this win?
A couple of sample shots to follow, shot with a roll of Ilford XP2.

Kinda forgot to sort the ratios out when I was scanning these negs at work, hence the shitty cropping. Gonna have to do it again when I can be arsed.

Sorry none of it's for sale. I got a lot of it from my dad, so not only does it have some sentimental value but also he'd fucking murder me if he ever found out...
Dunno how he'd do that from the other side of the country but there we go...
Forgot to mention that I also got a Vivitar 28-200 3.5 - 5.6... Is that win also?
>> HansMolemann !P4c.m6tagA

Despite the fact that I already have... I'm not going to dignify that with a response...

Not really. You could press it into service if you really need a wide or a tele, but you probably won't.

That's what I thought. I've used it a bit but all the shots I've got out of it are fucking horrible and murky. Dunno if that's cause the things been sat in a bag for years or if it's just shit.
Probably just shit. The 50mm seems fuckin sweet though to be honest.

Thanks for the tip. I don't intend to spend any money on gear for the moment, especially since I got the Minolta and lenses for a pittance. (Read: "free!")

So what does /p/ think of my shots? Are they also win or B+W insta art cliché fail?

Sup Hans,

Honestly, I think your photos are abit boring :\ there is nothing that jumps out and slaps me in the face. b&w building shots at these angles have been done since man invented cameras.

Try and go for an unusual angle, a different approach, maybe that will make them more interesting? I dno, I've never taken a photo myself of a building that I think is any good.
Also, try Ilford FP4, it has such lovely contrast

Yeah I agree... I've been doing a lot of abstract art-student (not that I ever was one) crap for ages and ages and have become bored with it. Wanted to try something I hadn't done before, and try out the new shooter.
I failed.

you should look for the 50/1.4 MC Rokkor-x for the SRT-201. if you think the 1.7 is sex, the 1.4 would be like instant orgasm in lens form.
