you are not worthy of a 5D

Is this one worthy of a 5D? How about a 100mm macro, 24-105mm L, 70-200 f2.8 L, 17-40mm L, and 85mm f1.8 as well?

Nikonfag here, i couldn't give a fuck about your gear.

Nice photos though.

>>118255

it's better than all the nikon shit you own, lol
>> Jeremo !iKGMr61IHM
>>118258

Yeah, cause you can arbitrarily determine quality of gear you know nothing about. STFU and go shoot some photos ;)
>> Anonymous
>>118243

not really
>> Vincent !!8LCSE0Zp1mL
>>118258
Ahh yes, the I spent more money than you therefore I am a better photographer argument / its the name on the camera that makes the pictures.

For actual picture threads gear is a moot point. We will bash the shit out of crappy pics though.

First pic is waaay too saturated, and although I'm sure you love your shadow theres shit all else that makes the pic interesting.

Second pic is better, can't really say much else about it though. nothing to exactly write home about.

>>118243
No photograph is "worthy of x camera" or "not worthy of x camera." They're just tools, some better than others. It's either a good photograph or a bad photograph. These are bad, not because there's any technical problem, but because they lack content. It's like if someone wrote a precise and well-written novel length description of a wine glass. Aesthetically pleasing, but emptier than a broke wino's.

Go take that 5D and all those nice lenses and *say* something.
>> Jeremo !iKGMr61IHM
So i actually bothered to see the large versions.

First one: Sky is great but the tilt and over saturation of colour on the field is distracting to say the least. Your shadow with your huge hip tumour and tiny head is ... meh.

The second, great setup but the picture itself is meh again. The crop is too tight as the bottom of the front glass is cut off. For stock photo or commercial work it's decent.

These not soo much, Silhouette is boring, people are too distant, Trees look clipped
Alcoholism one is alright but the setup is too scattered, theres no point of focus.

You have proven you don't deserve your 5D as the second post already pointed out. Enjoy your failure.

>>118337

Idiot. If you can't tell a shitty photo when you see it then you are a failure as a photographer. Good luck trying to be a second-rate /b/tard.
>> Anonymous
the colors are good in these, but really they suck pretty bad aside from that.

as for the first one: really? tilt? when will faggots learn that tilting is fucking annoying and doesn't add anything at all to the picture?
>> beethy !HJGkSBB3Ao
Jesus christ /p/
I know you guys can be assholes sometimes, but take it easy on this fella
just because he owns a 5D doesn't mean you can diss him to hell and back

anyway

>>118236
Too saturated, would've been an okay photo if it wasn't so tilted and didn't have a cliche shadow of the photographer visible

>>118243
Technically nice, but OH SO BORING
this might work as a commercial shot though

>>118312
very nice, no qualms with this

>>118313
this isn't bad at all, i'd say it's the 2nd best of the lot..
but, it needs a crop to show the people a little better
and i really hate the crappy looking dark blue edges around any black areas

boring

No, but we certainly can dismiss them once they start waving their expensive lens penis around like it somehow will make their extremely average pictures into great ones.

what a giant faggot OP is
my critique still stands though

my girlfriend said

"boring fucking typical, you could take that with an ixus. a collection of good lenses doesn't make you a better photographer"

You know, the easiest way to replicate Velvia colours is to actually shoot a roll of Velvia.
>> ac !!VPzQAxYPAMA
>>118416
I dunno. That requires purchasing a roll of Velvia, shooting it (which is more complicated than shooting digital, 'cause you're locked at one ISO and can't chimp or really spray&pray, so you have to work a lot more for each shot unless you want to waste money), getting it processed (and it's getting harder and harder to find good places that'll do E6 nowadays. I've just given up and started buying prepaid development mailers to send my rolls back to Fuji) and then scanning it. No, I think it's a lot easier to just tweak the colors in Photoshop, especially if you've got some sort of preset for the look.
>> Anonymous
>>118432
Also, that requires buying a film camera and possibly even new lenses for many of us.
>> thefamilyman !!rTVzm2BgTOa
>>118432
dont forget you have to have a film camera to begin with. But i agree on pretty much every account.
>> Anonymous
Noted. I guess I'm just too much of a film fag.

WTF is a 5D?
Seriously guys...

Allrighty, I will give a critique for your photos as I'm the only person who's not biased and doesn't care about photography (because making a good picture that goes with the opinion of people who "know" something about photography is destined to become boring.)

>>118236
Colours are awesome, wtf, oversaturated, who cares about that if it looks good. Your opinion sucks.
Also I LIKE the tilt, but your shadow sucks ass.

>>118243
I don't like how the glass is cut out at the bottom otherwise it's okay.

>>118310
this is a piece of shit. Even if you look at it from the technical perspective, I don't like it.

>>118312
I like skylines...there's not much you can do wrong with the setup, even the shittiest photographer can take good skyline-shots. I like the time you shot this, especially the sky.

>>118313
I like this, it's boring but good...someone mentioned the darkblue areas around the black areas...yes, they deinately suck.

>>118315
I like this...allright it may be boring ubt it definately looks very good.
I've seen a lot of better pics, though, maybe you'll get better.

>>118469
5D is a camera, specifically Canon's just-below-professional camera
>> Anonymous
>>118432
I've heard National Geographic runs an open-to-the-public film processing service.

Can't beat having your Velvia processed by the people who handled all the pretty colors we saw from Kodachrome until Velvia and from Velvia until all the photojournalists went digital.

http://www.ngimaging.com/index.html

Never used it, though. I've never shot film, although I'm planning to get into it sometime this year.
>> Anonymous
>>118469

You know nothing about photography and you don't care about photography? Why are you even here? Weird.
>> ac !!VPzQAxYPAMA
>>118236
I actually really like the colors in this one. Pictures of one's own shadow are kind of lame in general, though. Get an actual model.

>>118243
My comments for this are the same as my comments for your other picture of wineglasses against a neutral background.

>>118312
Very pretty, but I think it would have been better without the stuff in the lower right. Everything else works together, but those little arches and the key just keep jumping up and down going "LOOK AT MEE! LOOOOK AAAAAAT MEEEEEE!!!!!" and distracts from the rest of the shot.

The other shots you posted in this thread are just sort of boring.
