Just ran a test roll through my new Pentax K1000 with a 28mm f/2.8 Pentax lens. I'm so psyched about this camera! I love it.

Sorry about the shitty fucking scans. CVS's scanners, film development, and printing suck ass. I only did it because it's 24 hours and I was impatient. Oh, and the film sucked anyways. Fujifilm 800. Bleh. Grainy as hell, and not a nice grain either.

I may have too many cameras.

Wait. No. The other thing.

I may not have enough cameras.

Wow, you have all these cameras and you still suck. Maybe stop stroking your cock over your gear for a moment and take a shot that isn't like watching grass grow.

Also, learn to compress your images. You'll find you'll get more critique if you post a 100kb image, rather than a 1-2mb file. You don't need to save something at a higher quality here. Also, saving these in high quality is like wrapping up shit in silk.

Teehee. Nice to see I'm not the only wacko with 'not enough' cameras around here.

Mine arent as impressive though, what with having no bigass telephotos and all.

I SMELL JEALOUSY.

Actually being good at taking pictures was never a requirement to be afflicted with gear acquisiton syndrome. I'm guilty of that myself.

And just what the fuck am I jealous of, dickhead? A spoilt jerk who thinks having a shit load of cameras can compensate for having no skill whatsoever?

Show me a photo that isn't a dog turd and I'll revoke my statement. Until then, what I said stands.

why do you automatically assume he's trying to compensate by collecting cameras? I know tons of collectors of everything that suck at whatever it is they collect is meant to do. Granted, his pictures are lame, but typically what I would expect from a test roll. That's what they are, after all, test pictures for a new camera. Even you, i'd bet, would not waste your time to take great pictures if you didn't know if they'd come out alright or not.

LULZ.

Have you lurked this board for a single day?

Heavyweather is one of the best photographers on here.

I don't know about that, though he is certainly one of the best namefags here.

No, he's just the only photographer who consistently puts a name to his posts.

It's a damn test roll. I know I always consciously avoid taking pictures that are really good when I shoot a test roll for fear of the crushing disappointment if the camera turns out to not work at all.

That being said,>>44977is pretty good. And the others suck mostly due to grainy-ass ISO800 film.

Check out his Flickr account (his username's heavyweather there, too). It is filled with win. And post some pictures of your own or I shall be forced to assume that you don't even know which direction the lens is supposed to go when using a camera.

Don't post shots that don't look good. There's no excuse. I don't care if that was a test roll or you were bored or were just dicking around. If you made me look at them, then don't bitch when I tell you what I think. Fuckshits.

looks like it. I usually only tripfag when posting my own photos. anyway, tripfagging to say hi to another tripfag

anyway>>44976
what film exactly? Fuji NPZ is quite decent. I've shot Superia 800 before, not the best, but it was OK. not too much difference from ISO 400, and I needed the extra stop.

>>44979
nice to have gear, but nicer to put all of them to a good use ~

>>45028
yeah, test rolls... but well, some resizing or at least compressing would be appropriate.

I honestly can't remember what kind it was, only that it was cheap. The dude gave it to me with the camera (transaction happened through craigslist.) I was surprised that it came out color, actually! I was hoping for black and white. No matter, I've got a roll of nice Tri-X 400 in there now.

The gear shot is actually a little fake, for a few reasons: one of the K1000s is broken, shutter/winder assembly stopped working, dude at the camera store said it'd be a $150 fix. Fuck that, I got the new K1000 and a lens for $75! The Canon EOS Rebel's shutter is malfunctioning too. I believe it's out of sync, or half of it is sticking for some reason, because I get a lot of half-exposed frames from it. The Polaroid is win, though. So really I only use the new K1000 and my D50, which is the one with the XBOX HUEG lens on it (a Tamron 28-200).

My goal isn't to own a billion fucking cameras. I'm actually trying to consolidate into the Pentax system. I'll be selling my Nikon gear (two lenses on craigslist already) in order to get a K10D. When I can afford to get a medium format camera, it'll probably be a Pentax 67, unless I can get my hands on a cheap Bronica, Hasselblad, or Mamiya, obviously.

Sorry about the image size and quality, it was late, needed sleep, and so I pulled the images straight off of the AIDS-filled CD they burnt me at CVS.

get some decent processing lab. also some bad dust on your scans and all. good labs are not cheap, but worth it. i was with a local lab before I developed myself, and learnt a lot from them about the developing.

tri-x is lovely, but you need to have control over the processing. otherwise you miss the whole point of b/w, fyi :)

I'd give you some help, also with the repairs, too bad the world is so big

I completely agree, about the darkroom aspect. I should be getting access to one within the week, so I'm excited! I've got a backlog of a few rolls of Tri-X to develop, so hopefully the results are worthwhile. :)
