I shot these a year ago and lost them in the depths of my hard drive until tonight.

inb4 should have left them there.

I think I was on a formalism kick when I shot these.

I really really love the first shot. Would have loved it more as a square crop with the bottom of the frame ending just below compact..

ya know, to emphasise the Compact space?

I was also going to suggest the crop be wider to include both lines, but i think the Compact word should be the main theme and focus.

Even if no one else has commented, i really like it :) Keep them coming please.

Huh. I kinda like these. I find that mildly surprising.
>> beethy
I like em. Good work OP.
You managed to create pretty interesting photos with an otherwise completely boring environment.
Nice :]

shit sux. (someone had to, this is 4chan.)
i like the second one.

when i saw these, i was just waiting for you to comment on it not having a subject.

I know! And yet, they're very visually appealing. Good use of space, good use of light, good use of color.

I like. And I see you used some ruler there. These just might be the best /p/ has to offer in a days.

>>109475
Should have left this out. It's just boring looking snapshot.

>Should have left this out. It's just boring looking snapshot.
I thought that at first too, but I'd recommend giving it another chance. It's got a very nice abstract, geometric quality to it with all of the angles and the flow of the pipes and wires and conduits.
>> Liquefied !!CF1+3tSFCce
Thanks for the crits everyone.

>>109514
I tried using a square crop but I really like the skid mark in the bottom third of the frame. I think it breaks up the geometry subtly and gives it some unexpectedness.

>>109608
I agree that the last one is my weakest shot. Although I wouldn't say it's snapshotty, I think It could benefit from a better crop to remove some distracting elements along the edge of the frame. I just couldn't get a nice crop without removing important parts. And of course I used the measure tool on the first two. I'm not perfect.
>> elf_man !!DdAnyoDMfCe
>>109689
I found these to all have very strong composition. Actually the second has the weakest composition, the pole seems too close to the bottom. But while the first two have stronger subjects, the third's composition really popped out to me, it does a nice job of using the patterns themselves as a subject, while maintaining some sort of context. Better lighting would really elevate it.
>> eku !8cibvLQ11s
>>109637
No, it just doesn't work.

>>109689
>And of course I used the measure tool on the first two. I'm not perfect.

I wasn't saying it's a bad thing to use ruler to straighten things. It's just a thing people should do with these kind of photos, and you did.

1. turn monitor on it side
2. change display orientation in gfx settings
3. ???
4. profit

I agree..
OP really showed with these photos that he has a great understanding of composition.

Liquefied, post more.. a different subject maybe?
I'd love to see

Yeah, my Dell is only half-ass calibrated with the nvidia utility. Some day I'll get a LaCie or Eizo and one of those calibration thingies.
