Night Lulz Anonymous
It's superdark, biatches. Anyone have opinions on flash guns or techniques with a digital camera to get better crazy long exposures? Crazy long, for the sake of this discussion, being longer than 30 seconds.

true. i like f/8 - f16 even at night.

if you need a light source, best thing is the moon. take pics only on full moon. manmade l ight sources at night cast too many, hard shadows.

I don't like how the tree ended up looking with a bluer wb

Which brings up a question I found when working on it: I might be a noob to color temperatures and what adjustments are kosher in producing a final image without hearing "shopped", but there isn't a setting for white balance when your light sources are the moon and a white LED cluster. Unless the camera has that button somewhere and I didn't see it. It seems to me that since white balance is determined in film by filters and film type, any white balance adjustment is good to go as long as it leads to an aesthetic picture. _That_ said, I liked the warm tone to the image in the yellow version, since the artificial lighting is opposite the angle of the moon. I think it gives the whole thing a sort of apocalyptic/dark/desolate/old-russian-sci-fi-movie feel. The blue sky is nice and all, but even if the LED light didn't fuck up the green of the tree with that wb, I just don't think it produces as interesting a work.

Get a Holga with the Bulb shutter option. Go to town.
>> Anonymous
I've got a holga. As far as I know the bulb shutter option is a lens cap and a broken holga. Also, kitsch is fine and all but its a little cheep.

Some people will cry shooped no matter what. Don't let it trouble you.

Also, the white balance option to use for weird lighting like that is 'Custom'
