>>167005 Yep. Rechargable NiMH AAs are the way to go. They can be picked up with a 110-230V charger quite cheaply now, negating the need for more than a plugin adapter if there's a voltage difference wherever you're going.
[Plugs will be different frequently, but if you have a multivoltage charger, you won't need to use a converter.]
Also, I have a preference for 15-minute chargers. Sure, you don't get quite the charge out of each battery compared to 8-hour chargers, but damn, it's nice to have 4 80-90% charged batteries in 15 minutes. Again, retail prices are brutally overpriced and sales are plentiful.
