Um...

Perhaps you should research? Figure out how your current lens is limiting you and go from there.

50mm f/1.8

Alternately: 28mm f/2.8 or 35mm f/2.0.

How are you liking it? I found one on craigslist for $330, i'm thinking of picking that up but i don't know much about it yet.

I bought mine used for $250 about a year ago, I wasn't that happy with it however, I sold it about 3 months later. (kind of Soft at f2.8, contrast never was that great either)
I hear the 17-50 is much better, but I haven't used it so who knows..

It's sharp, very nice, but a little bit heavy; I like using it for studio work.

I'm thinking on full frame it would do great as a walk around lens, but on a crop camera, the range is approximately that of a common 3x zoom digicam (40-120mm equivalent), so it might be a little limiting if you like very wide shots.

According to a few reviews (and I can confirm from experience) it works very nice as a 'people lens', or for social photography.

On crop cams, it pretty much works like a 'normal' zoom lens. It might feel a bit lacking on the wide end as well as the long end, but so far, most of my shots with that lens have been done right in the middle of the range, not bad.

Same anon.

I forgot to mention, I picked this lens over a fast 17-50 as an investment for the future: this is a full frame lens, not designed specially for crop cameras; I want to be able to use it on a 5d equivalent when I get one.
