hey /p/

I'm looking for a camera to do night pictures. I don't want to spend more than about $750 on the camera. Suggestions?

Static night pictures like this one, or night pictures where things might be moving and you don't want it to turn into a huge blurry mess?

If the former, pretty much any digital camera will work. Just get a tripod and set its lowest ISO and you're golden.

If the latter, you're going to need an SLR with a fast lens. Fortunately, you can easily get that within your budget. Most low-end digital SLRs are selling for around $500-600 now, and you can get a fast 50mm f/1.8 lens for under a hundred.

D70 bodies are in teh $400. then, like ac said, grab a 50mm f/1.8 for around $100
