Hey /p/, I want to try and raise some money for a foreign exchange trip by possibly selling some prints of my photo's on a website, the only problem is, I don't have any prints.

Any of you regularly make prints? Do you have any suggestions on places I could go to make prints, get them framed, send them out, etc?

Walmart surprisingly has really good print quality, and they're super cheap too, you could get 8.5x11s for less than a dollar.

is there any way I could get the photos from my computer to walmart though?

try putting them on a disc

as far as the framing goes, I don't know unless you go out of your way to buy the frame.

I got a membership at Costco because of their photo center. It's cheap, good quality, and consistent. Surprisingly.

Listen to this man.

Send it off to some good photo lab so you'll have prints worth selling.

Walmart is inconsistent and run by a bunch of high school drop outs (I know, as I know the people who work there)

Costco, in the area I am from on the other hand has a wicked printer, their printer profiles are available online, and the Staff are full timers exclusive to the printing department.
You can order 12x36" prints (in person) And their online setup lets you specify no adjustments.
Also prices are roughly equal to Walmart, and IMO higher quality / more consistant.

As for Framing, heres a trick, Frames (Glass, foamcore, matte's etc) are regularly marked up from 200-300%, Wholesalers in the area will often only sell to businesses / pro photographers.
Find the wholesaler, do some research (so you know what you are talking about) and order large orders and they are easy to convince that you are not just some tool who wants a few cheap frames. (my 20x44" frames I often get quoted as costing 200-300$ each, Now I get them at 49$ each, and I just have to put them together and mount the pics myself)

Also often large art stores will have "measure it yourself" frame ordering that do all the cutting for you (you just put it together yourself). They are usually not as expensive
