For B&W greyscale with brightness/darkness adjustments on each color.

For B&W, use the option in Nikon capture to preserve color information. For Sepia, desaturate in photoshop and use photo filter under adjustments.

Black and White filter in Photoshop CS3 > *

Various sepia tones are probably best achieved by tweaking Color Balance after B&W conversion.

Picture styles "Monochrome" on my Mark III. I haven't used sepia yet, but it would be in cs3.

You keep claiming to have a Mk III. Why have I seen no pictures with Mk III in the EXIF?

OP's here. For B&W I do Image > Adjustments > Gradient Map > Black and White gradient.
Or there's another way: Image > Adjustments > Channel Mixer > Monochrome. Then tweak the channels' parameters.

Sepia is easy. After all above just add the Image > Adjustments > Color Filter > Warming Filter. Make it as strong as you want it to be. The first picture in the thread is made this way.

That's someone else. This is the first mention I've made of it to /p/. I'll post some if you want to see them, though.

Yeah, let's see if you're wasting that thing.

I turn it monochrome and print it out on a papersheet and then spill some tea all over it.

After that I let it dry for a while under some weight.

After that, clean awesome handmade sepia!
