Alright heres a lazy sunday thread.
Whats your favorite lens /p/
Post a related pic and explain yourself

Mine = Nikkor 80-200mm F2.8 af-s
AF is super fast and super accurate, And it is extremely sharp wide open or stopped down. (Plus it takes a 1.4x TC with no noticeable loss in quality or AF speed)
Also it feels like I could kill someone with it and it would still work flawlessly

Normally I use my 18-200mm if I only have to shoot for a couple hours on my d300 because it has VR and I don't need a tripod at all. But if I'll be out all day i usually take my 80-200 f/2.8 and my D3 and I might bring my 12-24mm with me incase I want to do some portraits.

I really love the 18-200mm on my D50, it's on it most of the time unless I'm shooting on my D40x, where I might use the 18-55 stock lens because it's cheap and the focus ring is a bit cheap and thin. I also like the 50mm it's amazing on my D80 because sometimes the 18-55mm is only a 3.5 where as the 50mm is a 1.4.

You can get the 18-200 here and here.It helps me to keep adding to this site when you get yours from these links, too.

50 1.4 on a crop so when i get a FF ill get an 85 1.8.

dunno, i just love the focal length, though its sometimes too long for indoors but otherwise i love it.

EF 55-200mm f/4.5-5.6

I found myself leaning more and more towards street photography, and being the stalker-ish type this particular lens gives a comfortable distance between the subject and me.

I'd like a 70-200mm f/2.8 IS, yessir, but the number of eyes it will attract will be more than the 55-200mm. And I don't like attention while taking photos.

I think all around, it's my Minolta MC Rokkor-X PG 50mm f/1.4. If for no other reason, "MC Rokkor-X PG" would be an excellent club name.

Unfortunately, using that means I'm using my old-ass Minolta manual focus film body, which has some shutter speed issues. If I try to go too fast, I get a partially unexposed frame.

So, of the lenses that I actually use on a regular basis on my Canon DSLR, probably my 50mm f/1.8.

OP that picture is fucking amazing. I totally feel like nauseous looking at it.

I'm sorry, but you are not me.

As for the question at hand, there are too many.

For most situations, serious or otherwise, I grab my D40 with the 18-200mm vr. This is an incredible combo in an extremely light package. It's more than enough for most photographers.

Recently, however, I've been using my D3 with the 14-24mm. This lens is incredibly sharp and I absolutely love ultra-wide angles.

Either one, depending if I want to be stealthy or go all out.

no, he still calls forums "chat rooms" which in itself is a pretty good predictor of how seriously one should take kenro.

<--- Recently I am adoring this guy here..

Tamron SP 35-105 F2.8. It's an old lens and autofocus it's not really as quick, even if the D200 does the job fairly well.
The range is narrow (70mm) on a 690g lens, 67mm and pretty massive metal construction.

But it's as sharp as a prime all the way. Impressive.

Cons are... It's heavy, zoom ring is tight and smooth but the lens is too heavy and will open-close if it rests vertically.
