I think most of these pictures are amazing, especially 3.

Not bad, the sky looks kind of funny, maybe if it had a bit more color and was a bit lighter it'd work better for me.

>>138123
Should have done a longer shutter speed to make the ocean have that foggy look, or done something to make the left side less blurry.

>>138124
This is pretty.

INSTAART. Instead of her smoking make her do something more interesting. The pattern there gives you a lot to work with.

>>138128
Yes your woman is trash.

>>138129
I lol'd.
Not really but that is entertaining.

Overall some decent work, a few "nice" shots that don't have anything other than looking pretty, and lost of post-processing. Personally I think your stuff would be more appealing without the huge amount of post-processing but you have a distinctive technique that I think you can make work.

I think your main focus at the moment should be on shooting interesting photos. A few try to be interesting but fail miserably, like the following:
>>138120
>>138127

The former because it just says "lol i haev grilfrind cul huh?", the latter because pictures of graffiti on shit _typically_ don't have any redeeming value and are dumb looking.

That's about it from me...keep on shooting.

>> beethy !HJGkSBB3Ao
Thanks people.
Because of the shoopan criticism on /p/, I've actually been toning it down a lot. I hate to say it, but you guys were right. My shoopan used to be much too heavy.
Eventually I'll be able to tone it down even more and make it less obvious (which is good, right?)

Anyway..

>>138140
The original is actually very dark near the top, no polarizer (though I will be buying one)

>>138160
I find the 10-22 a very good walk around lens. The other one I own is a 100mm 2.8 macro lens, it's a beautiful lens but can't be used in all instances.
I'm going to get the Canon EF-S 17-85MM f4-5.6 IS USM with a 40D soon. That will probably be my walk around lens instead.

Anyway, thanks for the critique so far. I agree with overshoopan on 3., I liked the shot a lot, but I couldn't get the Club X sign to stand out without heavy shadow/highlight.

Any more questions or critique, shoot

>> Anonymous
>>138163
skip the 17-85, go for the 24-105L, you've got the wide with the 10-22 and then comboed with the 24-105 = profit.

The 17-85 is hugely inferior to the 10-22 in terms of optics.
>> Anonymous
>>138163
Don't get the 17-85 IS, it's made of fail. Even the budget 18-55 IS beats it on most accounts.

ive had the 17-85 and yes the range is nice but the sharpness sucks, contrast sucks, distortion sucks.

build quality was nice though for a consumer lens.

TL:DR avoid like the plague!

didn't shoot at 10mm like before, instead something like 15mm.

Heres a very important tip I think I didn't mention before.
See attached pic. (Because your edges don't look as sharp I am pretty sure you used the wrong method)
If you did this pano with the bottom method, REDO it, and trust me it will look better.
Also your other ones that may not have worked, redo with this and Insta win.

Use Global (the sphere) If you need to correct for converging lines, Or you want a wider angle of view
Use the cylinder (2D plane correction), for just regular shots (has the side effect of leaving in more height, so for shots you took that are too wide, use this.
