Nice, the grain pattern is very nice. Who makes AM20?
>> Anonymous
Amaloco, a dutch company. I know their AM74 is sold as Rollei Highspeed. There isn't too much info available on the net, I'll look up more info later.

Grain is quite nice indeed. I also like the AM50 though, it's not speed-enhancing. the photos have an odd feel on them though, AM50 seemed nicer, but that was on ISO 400. browse back a few pages to see my thread.

I pretty much fail it wrt bw developing these days. Even when I did it regularly, it was mostly tri-x/d76.
My friends keep telling me that Fuji Acros would lure me back into the fold but I haven't had a chance to run through any.

pfff, tri-x in D76 is a recipe for old men :)
try something more modern like an Amaloco, HD or Pyro developer :)

Acros is great, very fine-grained but contrasty. I like it better then TMAX 100

I'll have to give it a whirl one of these days. I suppose you wouldn't suggest D76 as its soup? :3

no not really. what can you get?

something sharper would be nice. ilford their dd-x and microphen are sharper, and speed-enhancing.

Locally? Not much, d76, hc-110
I'm not averse to putting a bh order in though.

HC-110 is cheaper and has much longer shelf life. diluted more (1:63 or 1:100), it gets sharper but granier. tri-x in the default dilution just muddy.

DD-x and microphen are nice, as said earlier. you might try x-tol, but I haven't used it myself
