I have had a little luck on ebay when I got my wide angle and a teleconverter, but it is VERY hit and miss - you might be looking for a long time before you find something worth what they are asking.
That being said, I really like the K1000. Don't pay more than about $75 for a K1000 in excellent shape with at least one good lens w/ lens and body caps (and possibly a case). If you need it for school, you may not have time to look for deals, but I've seen them ranging from ~$50 to $200 with some even lower.
If you can hit up used camera stores, it is much better since you can hold it and test it first.
