If your just starting using a polarising filter, whack it on aperture priority... you can change the fstop yourself, like you would on manual, but it will do the exposure for you... after a bit, you will learn what your exposure should be with and without the filter (providing you keep an eye on the display in the view finder that is)

Lol, didnt check exif :P, but yes, doing it rite

But one question... the lower two shots have no sky in them, no water, no glass as a main focal point... why do you need a polarised filter for them?

i was under the impression that a polarised filter also makes photos look a little more saturated. isn't that the case? or are they strictly for refraction/reflection/lens flare?

I work to a very simple rule, "If something can be done well back at home, don't do it in camera" This goes for all those settings in your cam for B&W, editing, and for me, filters when there not 100% required..

For sky, yes use them, but for general colors, 5 minuets in PS is a small price to pay.

But am getting anal now :P, work how ever you want, there is no "right" way,

lol okay. in this case i think i was mostly too lazy to unscrew the filter, but in general i've been trying to stay away from photoshop these days.

i was one of those kids that were photoshop crazy and followed shitloads of tutorials and made shitloads of generic crap from stock photos cuz i had no camera. but having started photography, i feel i somehow need to repent my abuse of photoshop... picasa is pretty awsome tho.

Dont worry... EVERYONE who gets a camera is like this, and (no offence ment) takes photos like these, and refuses to shop because there "going to use skill to get the photo"..

After a few months you will come into your own a photographer, realize what your snapping now isnt you at all, and start to use photoshop to improve on your ideas...

Its a long process, dont give up :P
