Hey guys, so I'm looking at buying a pretty old film camera Olympus OM, i don't really know much about lenses and I have the choice of 3135mm, 70-140mm, 80-200mmI have no idea what this means so could you please recommend which would be best for me thanks
For your only lens? All of those options would suck, but the 70-140 would suck the least. Those are all telephotos, with no normal or wide.
better question... Whyyyyy? It's as if you barely know what you're getting into.
gumtree op?
yeah dude, did you see it?? i know that i dont know much about photography but i would like to learn and a film camera is good fun
>>260406think I saw it yeah, cant remember much though.Check ebay, Olympus OM##, Pentax K1000, Canon AE's, Nikon FE(FMS) are all good film cameras to begin with.Try and find one with a 50mm lens.
>>260422the measurement is mm is the focal length.if 2 numbers are given, for example 70-200. Thats the 'zoom' length
ok thanks for explaining, these cameras are so cheap like 20 quid
hey next question, what type are the cameras that you listed, SLRs?
>>260477SLR stands for Single-Lens Reflex. That means that when you're using one of those cameras, you're looking through the actual lens, and not a system made to work in parallel with the lens.Go here to see why they're betterhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single-lens_reflex_camera#Advantages
