photo shoot help Anonymous
so i'm doing to do a photo shoot soon and i rented a studio for half a day

i'm using a D80 and rented a 24-70 2.8 lens for that day to do all the shots

my problem is i don't know how to use the lights they have there. i have a sb-800 flash and i know how to use that but apparently the studio flashes they are don't work the same way my flash works

they said they were speedotrons and there would be 3 lights with soft boxes or umbrellas

i don't even know how to set them up, like position and angles and how to use them, they're all manual and don't have automatic flash like the one i use

wtfs :/ can someone give me a quick rundown on how to put them and settings to use? i just want a basic white background style shoot with little to no shadows

softboxes to the left and right of subject, rimlight for background.

Bob's your uncle

Why did you rent the studio if you have no idea how to use studio gear?

lol you fag.

ok

give this a whirl

keylight - 45 deg camera left or right and high up
fill light behind camera and high up
set this one about 1-2 stops below the key

backlight
either have it rim lighting the subject or use it with a gel on the background.......

or use it as a hair light...

What he suggested is a very safe option.

And OP is kinda sad, and possibly will fail the photo shoot. The truth really.

that is 2 models at the same time? be more specific. it will really help both you and the models to have everything planned out beforehand.. could you upload an image, with the look youre trying to go for.
