I know my pictures aren't that great, but I would like critiques! I'm going to turn in 5 8" x 10" prints for a "place" assignment for class.

Here's my first picture. Tell me if the photoshop is apparent.

To idiots it probably isn't, I feel like I could put on some 3D goggle when staring at the edge of that building though.

If i posted the original files could you show me how to make the photoshopping look better?

You need to feather the outlines of your objects so the layers blend together better.
Select around something with the wand tool and then go to Select >>> Modify >>> Feather

Feather the edge slightly (1-2px) and then delete.
It'll give the things softer edges and they'll feel more like they belong together.

The subject just isn't there to begin with if we're talking of it being at all interesting. It's also aligned not-so-hot. I just don't see photoshop saving this one. You said "Here's my first picture", therefore I'm assuming you've got more. Post some.

What's with all the fucking white area on the sides? And yes it's obvious you shopped it, it looks awful and completely noob-ish. It's also a terrible camera/lens that you took the photo with. Ugh.

Wow... the other pics are crap compared to this one. This one is seriously magazine worthy. You still have to improve, but this is promising OP.

The splices in this are really terrible.
I mean, in the lower image there are FLOATING DISEMBODIED ARMS at the splice.

I assume you're a total Photoshop n00b, and at least you lined this up right, but uuuggggghhhhh you still have a lot to learn.

No cars! The one photog class I did at uni the teacher hated cars and anyone who took photos of them got marked down.
