what digital SLR should somone get who knows jack shit about cameras and has a very small budget?

a300, not quite sure what it has extra to be honest, butterfag can fill in, oh wait, it's got live view i believe

a350, 14 motherfucking megapixels, live view and tilt screen

absolute entry level: oly e-410/420/510/520, nikon d40/d40x/d60, sony a100/200

good entry level: pentax k100d/110d/10d, nikon d50/d70, canon xt, sony a300

above entry level but still not "lol pro": pentax k200d/k20d, nikon d80, canon xti/xsi, sony a350
