Possibly. Consider you're fixed at 28mm equivalent focal length- do you like working at 28mm?
I've heard the raw write time is slow. Can you live with that? Look into that and its other specs.
I'd also consider a high-end small sensor camera. On one hand, smaller sensor = more noise. On the other, pretty much all of them have lenses at least a stop faster than this, and some of them more. The smaller sensor will give you more depth of field, usually what people want for street. A lot of them have faster write times. And to be honest, the Sigma doesn't look like it would be too comfortable to hold- small with no grip, whereas 90% of compacts have at least a little nub to tuck your finger on. Try getting your hands on one to see if you like it.
