>should i buy a flash for it, yes/no why?
I'd say no. You've got a fast f/1.7 lens and can load it up with fast film. It's better as an available-light camera. Also: I'm a pussy who can't deal with flash unless I can chimp and adjust the exposure afterwards.

>best film to use in any kinds of conditions?
Try out a bunch and see how you like 'em. I'm partial to Fuji Velvia 50, Ilford PanF Plus 50, and Ilford Delta 3200 myself. First roll you run through should be some crappy cheap color negative film so you can get it developed cheap and quick at the corner store and make sure that "Mint" doesn't mean "Mint, except for the light seals which have totally corroded with age"

Oh, and filters probably aren't worth the hassle on this camera. It uses a weird filter size.

yeah i know 48mm -.-' thanks alot ac :)
ive got a lightseal replacement kit on standyby just incase!

thanks alot mate ^_^

nice cheap flashes that would handle well on it are: nikon sb-15, sb-20. I'd probably go for the 20.

Valid point.

If you're shooting black and white, a red filter might help you not getting the sky overexposed.

For that reason it'd be stupid, a red filter changes way too much if you're just going to use it to get the sky 'right' (It won't be right, it'll just be pretty close to black)

Besides what AC said about the fast lens, it's supposed to be a compact camera- putting a flash on it kinda defeats the purpose of a compact camera (although I like the flash for the canonets). Use it without the flash and enjoy it for what it's made for.

asa400 films are nice with this camera. I'd recommend Fuji Neopan and Superia.

Id buy HP5+ for low light and push it to iso800 which is fastest iso that this camera supports.

If you have lots of light available go for any iso 50 / 100 film.

This thing uses battery that is no longer available. With other similiar batteries the exposure might be little off. Ive heard that you can modify this camera to work with other types of batteries as well but im not sure if its worth it.

It should however work even without the batteries if you can do the metering with handheld light meter while shooting.

CRIS Camera MR9 adapter.

Wein zinc-air cel.

The original Mercury batteries aren't available anymore, but there are better options than modifying the camera to handle 1.5v alkalines, especially since those don't have a flat voltage curve over their lifetime (i.e., even if the camera's set up to be happy with 1.5v, the battery will only be 1.5v briefly. Then it'll be 1.49 for a while, then 1.48, and so on as it loses power over time. Mercuries kept 1.35v right up until the bitter end, where they suddenly and sharply dropped down to near zero)

ive got the batterys coverd with an order of 4 Weincell 1.35v batterys on the way too :)

cant wait till this thing arrives so i can get flamed on here haha.
