DSLR Panama
I am currently in the market for my first DSLR. What is /p/'s opinion on the best DSLRs? I am looking for a good entry level camera, nothing extremely fancy and I am kind of on a budget

D70s, D50 is fine too.

Why do they have to be so expensive? :'(

Used D70 ~$350-500
Used 35-75 f/3.3-4.5 ~$25-75

That's not much. I've paid double that put together for a film body with no lens. One that's now "worth" almost nothing, lawl!

TEEN TITANS!
>> Nikon D50 Noxie T. Fox
Go with the Nikon D50 your local walmart should have one of those for around 200$ max. It is a good starter camera with all the goodies still attached.

Where would I find one used? (ebay excluded)

craigslist, your local camera club, your local art centre.
I just found one in my area via networking with other artists for $400 with two batteries, two 1gig cards all like new. 1700 actuations.
There was another on craigslist with 1900 actuations for $400.

I love people that buy things just to have them :3

Low shutter actuations isn't always a sign of a dilletant, or "jones". I know a guy who hasn't put more than 2500 on his 1D. But he's 100 times the studio photographer I am, and he gets it right THE FIRST TIME.

I've cycled the counter on my Pentax *istD twice now, but I'm a whore for bracketing, and playing with white balance.

of course not, but if the thing looks brand new and has such a low count, signs point to as I described
