Its tough to give suggestions without knowing what you already have etc..
Do you have a remote (wired) shutter release?
I found that item VERY usefull, i just purchased one a little over a week ago and am very glad i did.
I took some firework photos two days before I received the trigger in the mail, and notices they were nice, but a little fuzzy when I looked at the pictures in a larger view. I then took some pictures a couple days after reciving the trigger, at another firework show and the difference in sharpness was great.
a remote trigger is a must for long exposure photographs, fireworks, night shots, light painting etc..
