So I'm going on a trip soon and was wondering if anyone knows about how many things they allow for carryon. Is it a carry on + laptop bag? in which case i'd take my clothes bag and camera bag, and just stick my laptop in with my clothes or something.

most rules is one carry on but if u ask nicely maybe u can put one bag overhead and one under the seat

depends on how long you are going of course, but it might be worth it to take the pain of checking baggage if you can take more gear.

well i dont have a laptop bag , and i dont think they allow you to just carry a laptop like that, do they? if they indeed don't, i was thinking i could buy a nice bag that houses both my camera gear and laptop since id need to go get a laptop bag anyway.

No computers in the checked-in baggage. Bullshit reasons they gave me a)explosion hazard (its a sony hehe) and b) more credible, nowadays li-ion packs are so dense, they cannot be easily distingished from plastic explosives.
I came with a rucksack and Laptop bag and camra bag, because the rules said you should pack the laptop seperately

Whenever I fly, I bring both my laptop and my camera bag. The usual rule is "One carry-on, one small personal item". That second one can be as big as a laptop bag.

Also, as recently as last Wednesday, I flew with a laptop in my checked luggage. Got my bag a TSA search, but they didn't steal it or kick me off the plane or anything

(I'm dual-wielding laptops this trip because I'm loaning my girlfriend my Windows laptop for the cruise she's going on next week)
