I've had my Kiev 88CM for 5 years now. I've got the 80mm Arsat, the 30mm Arsat, and a Carl Zeiss Jena 50mm Flektogon. I've used it quite alot, but certainly not in a professional setting, and perhaps if that's where you will be using your camera then get something more expensive/reliable.
I haven't had to make any repairs, but I'm aware that some people have a hell of a time with them, and have light leaks, spacing problems, and contrast issues. In the end, if you want to learn about photography, you can't go wrong with a Hassie, but in my experience, I don't think I've missed out by having a Kiev.
I took this photo on Kodak E100VS with the 30mm, and while I know tastes differ here, I think the result is quite good. It looks better in real life than scanned I think.
