How does this work? Doesn't this simply make your entire frame black except the hole part?

Example pic to follow.

Is it shopped?
>> Jeremo !iKGMr61IHM
no it's real, i've seen it done... been meaning to make one of my own actually.

fuck i actually forgot how it works... let me find that email.

Hmm, the diameter of the lens isn't the entire front element but still, do you just heavily crop the picture? Because I don't see that thing giving you an entire 3:2 frame.

no, you get the entire frame in there. you just might get some vignetting or weird ghosting.

That's pretty cool.

Don't have a place with a lot of lights to test it though.
>> Anonymous
While we're on the subject, those little "lights" aren't bokeh per se, what are they called?

The pentagonal or spherical shapes.

Can someone try this with a block of flats (or something with lots of lights on, you know) ?

this could look crazy with a cityscape background.

Does the paper have to be black? If not, I've got a parking garage with lights everywhere behind my apartment windows.
>> Anonymous
>>127499

I don't think the color matters as long as it's opaque material.

Do it.

Tried it, couldn't get it to work.

I'm pretty sure this works, though. I've seen people do it,>>127316worked.
