Oh and sorry about the EXIF data not showing properly on the pic, all I really did to it in Photoshop was crop it, slightly reduce the contrast and increase the brightness.
I use a fine grit sandpaper to begin with and work my way down the grades until I am using a leather chamois. Work the cloth in circles for the best effect. If you can construct some kind of rudimentary lathe, I suggest using it instead.
