...and I don't mean that as flippant. Seriously, one of the most important things to learn about composition is when something just will not make a good picture, no matter how you frame it, no matter what angle you get it from, no matter how you shoot is. A tree in (what looks like) a park will generally fall into this category.

You might be able to get a decent picture out of this subject by getting way closer and concentrating on just one small part of it.

(Pic potentially related, to illustrate the sort of thing I'm talking about. Whether or not it's truly related depends on whether or not other people think it sucks, though.)
