I submit that party photos of friends need not suck balls. Your thoughts?

the first one doesnt support your statement, but the second one could be cool if there were a bit more contrast between his face and the background

jesus, is that how you respond to a critique? i thought you went to college for this stuff.

he's right, too. the first picture is just a generic party snapshot. so are>>94154and>>94157.

#2 is okay, but tell me why you think these are any different from "myspacey" party pics.

fucking tell me about it. Why does everyone have it now? I thought Threadless was supposed to be indie as fuck. :(

Well, seeing as it wasn't a critique, I responded in kind. If there was some sort of critique, not just a pot shot, I guess I could've responded by saying that my objective was layering the scene and finding elements that both fill the frame and create new frames. I'll admit, it was not a proper assignment, and I didn't treat it like one, but that was mostly because I was doing good to press the shutter release and hold the camera steady. Jägermeister for the win.

what are you blithering on about? You reacted in a childish way to an anon that said the truth.

The cropping on that first photo is irritating, the party scene itself looks boring and the people unattractive.

It's a completely boring photo of a very boring party.

Good job, it's not blurry. Beyond that there isn't much to be said.

ITT heavyweather sucks.

The second is rather good. The others aren't really up to your usual standard.

I don't really "party," but I actually usually get my best photographs hanging out with my friends. Emotional intimacy with the subject really does breed better shots. I'll have to ask a few if I can post them to /p/... I've been meaning to do that.

And that post was a critique, but a joking flick-off-portrait post isn't a horrible way to respond to it. Especially on the Internet. Especially on 4chan.
