The Edmonton Oilers actually looked like they had a shot at winning the Stanley Cup last year. When they won the penultimate series against the Ducks Edmonton's main nightlife strip exploded...and the celebrations got out of hand. I was out there with my camera and tripod and the cops thought I was media and let me through.

People I know keep asking for a poster of this.

Really nice one. Just too bad you can't see the cops' faces. It would benefit from light coming from the side, but I know that's kind of hard to arrange. :)

I dunno. One can (and I think I would) make the argument that it's better because they're dehumanized. Just a solid wall of faceless The Man, ready to take your socialized-medicine-enjoying, 11%-less-valuable-currency-spending, "Eh"-saying ass down.

the only thing more bizarre were the number of people flashing me thinking I was a photographer for the "Edmonton Sun"

well, I dunno about the police.
I usually get at least questioned when I'm poking around at an event, even in my home town where I've been my whole life.

Nice picture. But that guy looks like he isn't too happy you're there...

That's my point :P
I'm kind of tempted to get a big print made and sent to the station, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea.
