Sup /p/?

I'm looking for a good zoom lens for a Canon 30d to take photographers of athletes / sports events.

I currently have a 300mm zoom lens, but I was wondering if there are some lenses with a higher aperture because my exposure times at f/4.0 are killing me.

Thnaks!

OP here.

I was eyeing the Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 EX APO HSM, but I have little experience with Sigma lenses.

even if it's sigma, a 70-200 with fix f/2.8 is already pretty decent. It's APO too, doesn't sound like a bad deal
