Hey /p/My aperture coupling ring (I think that's what its called) on my nikon fm sticks. What I mean is, I end up metering incorrectly because the coupling ring doesn't follow the aperature ring on the lens and it causes me to overexpose my shots. It moves freely, but it looks like friction is causing it to stop about half way. Can I just take any old lube and just put it in between there?I'll try to draw a picture to explain better.EXIF data available. I'd use my clock screwdrivers to dismantle the mount and clean/re-lubricate the mechanism. That's a bit of risk, however.
>>301180Over 9000 hours in mspaint.I'm thinking about opening it up dripping some oil into it and seeing if that helps. I don't want to pay for repairs because repairs would cost more then I spent on it.
>>301324I don't think dripping oil in there is a good idea. One wrong motion and you'll get oil all over your mirror box.
>>3013240. Steady hand1. careful storage and labeling of disassembled parts2. isopropyl and qtips to clean gunk3. clean motor oil and qtips to lube4. ?????5. Pass your photography class!!!!
