Aperture on the cheap Anonymous
so compUSA is going out of business, and all their mac software is like, ridiculously below msrp. IF you can find one with software still available. aperture is $209, i think..

Anyone use this for their collection? Is it better than lightroom?

It's awesome. It has different features than lightroom. aperture is better in some ways, lightroom in another. It's increased my productivity by 40. I'm not kidding.

Increased productivity as opposed to what? We need a baseline for this comparison...

I've used both of them, and honestly, i prefer the Raw editor for photoshop, because that's what i started with. Also: $209 isn't cheap, free is cheap. It's software, pirate it.

Macfag here, never used Aperture but I've used Adobe Lightroom.

I loaded up some RAWs I had and the first thought that came to mind as I was trying to figure things out was "What the fuck is this shit?"

There's really nothing wrong with the program itself. Loads plenty fast, interface works well but I really just don't know how to use it I guess.

People keep saying it increases their workflow but I can do the same thing with Bridge, ACR and Photoshop.

But it just might be me being too lazy to figure it out.
