You answered your own question, OP. Boring subject and perspective. Also boring composition. You could improve it by taking a picture of something else more interesting and sticking to day time shots if your camera is not capable of night shots.
When you have a solid color background, look for ways to play with the negative space, see how it's shaped around the subject. Here, centering is boring, in part because there are static blocks of empty space surrounding it.
