So, just testing out my new 50mm 1.8 canon lens! Wooo...

Well, cheap that I am, this thing is definately a good investment.

So, just a few shots taken right after I got it...

anyways, yeah. Seems pretty nice so far.

Although it does force a pretty cramped view.

Anyone have any good lenses for a natural (50mm) view on a cropped sensor?

well, I'm going to toss another (slightly more interesting pic) on the pile and call it a night.

... I really have to get myself a good macro lens.

Sigma 30/1.4, Canon 35/2

Would you take a picture of something non-macro for me, please? Like a room, building, street, anything zoomed out

yeah, the lens seems to capture color pretty well.

ow. The L lens is expensive. The Sigma isn't so bad though.

thanks.

sure!

these shots have only been slightly tweaked, so they aren't exactly mindblowing, but they do show off what the lens can do.

AND BECAUSE I CAN'T HELP MYSELF, ONE MORE MACRO SHOT!!

It's a tele lens with 1.6 crop. Nice for portraits and stuff.

Also, hopefully you bought the original one, not MK2. Latter has a tendency to vomit the innards without any apparent resaon. It might also crack in half if you breathe too hard when using the lens.

And of course you won't get it replaced. LENSES ARENT SUPPOSED TO BREAK LIKE THAT -> USERS FAULT

nah, I bought the second version. But, it's damn cheap, and I treat it well.

By the time it breaks I'll probably be ready to upgrade anyways.
