Halp /p/!

For the start... am a amateur photographer, not pro, in any way.

I have a chance to get some work put in a exhibit later this year (just 2-3 pieces), Everyone i know tells me i should go for it... but i honestly don't think my works upto scratch, and id feel ashamed for my first opportunity to be wasted and my name tarnished before i begin....

Pic related, its one of my best and fave shots.... Hopefully you will agree its not utter shit, and am not just another faggot with a DSLR, but is it worthy of been put on a wall for people to pick holes in?

Sorry for been such a faggot /p/, but I am honestly scared! lol

ldn underground, fuck yeah!

Your pic isn't anything amazing tbh, but what is the exhibition title? or is it completely open?

Its not a bad picture, though the overhead lights are a bit brighter than I would like.
Good framing of the subject (The cute girl) Lots of patterns in the handrails.

However you really needed to be closer

That said, in the meantime, Work on getting some new / better shots together, and get them properly framed / matted. People don't criticize art like you think. If its up in an exhibit, people generally give you more respect. Only other photographers will really pick it apart, and they are the minority of people who look at exhibits.

Also they probably picked you because they like your subject matter, stick to that subject.

all the info i was given was "a full photography exhibit", so i would assume its open.

Thanks :)

As for been closer, couldn't do it :P

This was shot from the end of one train, into the other, both windows were open, saw the shot, took it until people started giving me un easy looks so i put camrea away for fear of been shot.

Would there have been a way to make them less bright without underexposing the rest of the pic? Apart from strobing her that is.

The pic's okay, but I find the subject...not that interesting. It reads well, the lines of the lights and the handrails keep your eyes in the picture, but then the girl's not that interesting to look at. I feel like you could have got a better picture there, pity about the looks - it's not like they mind the millions of CCTV cameras taking their picture everywhere they go!

Definitely go for the exhibit though, the worst that can happen is people moving on to look at the other pictures. And you've still got time to take more.

You're not but it's not yet, though I've definitely seem worse stuck up on the walls of different places.

i would like to have seen the picture in portrait mode, not a change, but just the opportunity to see it that way, so i can decide which is better.

this is just stupid. the photo works because of the context. a tighter framing would have been boring.

all we need now is another douchebag crying rule of 1/3rds.
