How I love low light. Probably the best photo (from 100 photos) I got today from Tomi Metsäketo (Famous Finnish Opera singer).
Low light church. :(

And who said you don't need good gear to take good photos? MarkIII and f/2.8 lens would have saved me big time.

Good gear certainly helps when taking a photo. That's why you should upgrade you stuff every once in a while. The big question is if you have the money. :(

Get a 70-200 f/2,8 and get the EOS 7D when it comes out.

Goodbye wallet goodbye!~

Don't forget to get the IS version if you're going all out!

Is the 70-200 IS 2.8 actually worth the money you'll pay for it? I love the look of the lense, the great aperture and the zoom/IS, but does it take good pictures?

For that money I fucking hope so.

It really is a superb lens. You can get the 70-200 4 non-IS L really cheap now though if weight and cost is a factor.

I'm one of those people who find IS quite useless on telephoto lenses, so I'd happily save myself the $/€500.

Always got a tripod on?

I don't know about 92827, but I normally shoot action where IS/VR just doesn't help. For static low-light, I generally shoot fast primes instead. don't get me wrong, IS/VR certainly does have its benefits! I love using the 105mm VR Micro-Nikkor, you can get some great handheld shots you couldn't otherwise pull off with a heavy long-macro.

True, it's a lot to do with your subject and how you are shooting. If you don't need it then it's only extra weight and wasted money.

The 70-400 4L has as good image quality if you don't need the extra features of the others.

Some italic opera songs, or at least something that sounded similar.
