/p/, I have one of these (Vivitar XV2), however after every shot the mirror gets stuck up, and I have to take off the lens and manually put it back down. It was working fine for a test roll of film, but halfway through the second it's just started doing this.Is it fucked?
Yes, it's broken. Get it fixed or buy a new one.
Try putting a bit of oil on the mirror's hinges, or see if there's something out of place interfering with it.
Might be sticky foam, too. Old foam turns to glue. If it's the original stuff, that's probably it.
>>37610I used the very professional method of "Poking around inside with a thin screwdriver until something clicked" and it works now.I don't think it was anything to do with the hinges, something stuck in the gears perhaps? I don't know how to take it apart more than simply taking the bottom cover off. At least it's working again.
Oh man, this camera brings back memories. Started off photography with one of these babies, still have the lenses left, the body broke down tho with a similar problem.
Doing it again.Fuck it, I'm saving up for a DSLR that takes K mount lenses.
