To ring in the New Year, here's a thread full of win. I didn't take any of the photos [obviously], but I figured the guys in /p/ would appreciate a flood of olde cities.

the people who took these pictures are probably dead by now. I wonder if people will be looking at our photos when were worm meat; the next generations will talk about how awesome it would be to live in our time period, and the sauce of the images will be 4chan.

This one is particularly epic. I assume they're cars bottom centre of the image?
Thats what Gotham shoulda looked like in Batman Begins.

yeah, I think those are cars. I live not far from Chicago, I visit regularly and I have never once seen that cathedral before, which makes me think this was taken before the Chicago Fire [it would also explain the lack of skyscrapers].

And I agree with what you said about Gotham. It's a shame "Batman Begins" didn't have many good shots of Gotham aside from what we saw from the elevated train.

You should see the new towers they're planing on building in Chicago; they look like drill bits, they're just hideous.

I've always loved Chi-town because of the gothic architecture and... well, because it somewhat resembles Gotham City. I don't want stupid towers like this being erected so Chicago can be "the city with that fucking goofy tower"
