Poorfag in college here. I plan on getting the new 1000D as my first dSLR and using the money I saved for some good lenses, a flash, and maybe some other accessories. This won't be all at once, though. I start off with the kit then work my way up until the 1000D dies on me which hopefully by then, I'll have enough money to swap it out for the 40D or whatever comes next.Good plan? Around how many actuations do you guys think the 1000D will last? Plan B is Nikon D80.
Rebels last for 30000+ actuations. But most people upgrade the body way earlier than the shutter kicks the bucket.
I'm partial to plan B because I'm a Nikonfag. However, you seem to have a pretty good plan. I think you'd have time to save up for a 40d before your Rebel dies.
Grab the 1000D.
