her face is too dark and background is kinda distracting

>>146356
Pretty cool.

>>146358
I really like this one. One very minor downside is that the edge of the guy in the background's face is really sudden and harsh and looks of weird given that he is out of focus.

>>146360
background through window is distracting, and I find my eye getting drawn to that instead of the guy's face.

Like this one as well. True about the guys face though. What happened there?

>>146353

try to brighten up her face, I like this one a lot otherwise

Light coming from the window + big aperture, I think.

>>background through window is distracting, and I find my eye getting drawn to that instead of the guy's face.
Will it be even more distracting if I shoop it to pure white?

>>try to brighten up her face, I like this one a lot otherwise
How do I used curve?

Eh. Boring photo of a boring statue.

>>146353
I like it

>>146356
I don't like it. So did you just stake out this one spot?

I think I mostly don't like it just because that guy looks like a tool and I want to punch his stupid face.

>>146358
Great shot. Would be better with some more DoF, though. You were shooting at 1/125th, so you could've afforded to bump your aperture a bit.

>>146360
Also really good.

Violently overexposed... it's okay to shoot dark. It's atmospheric. Look at a lot of Nat'l Geographic stuff... they play around with underexposing all the time, and get great, beautiful colors. You could have stood to meter for the highlights instead of the shadows in this one. Everyone has nice catchlight from the window, I think it would've been much nicer if it was like, 2 stops darker.

Interesting guy, decent portrait... I think I would've liked either a cleaner background, or a wider angle so we could see MORE of the background, if it was in fact interesting. The square format isn't doing a lot for this photo either.
