Seriously...

Get more of the faucet in the frame, reduce the shutter speed( as in make it longer), and lower the ISO and retry.

On that note, also get the basin where the water falls into the frame. You SHOULD( if you make the shutter go for longer) get a pretty cool splash, I think.

food colouring for effect.

also. this is the best out of about 100 tries. so dont expect it to look any good in the first shots.

I think this is one of these areas where digital really comes into its own.

you have the exif data for this?
>> I||ICIT
camera canon 30D
lens canon 50mm 1.4 at f/3.5
shutter at 1/800 sec
no flash.
manual focus.
not sure of metering. prob wont matter too much for this kind of shot.

description of how i did it:
have the tap so that it's dripping at the exact frequency you want. that was about 30 drips a second i guess? quite a fast "buzzing" type noise on the sink.
use a knife and dip it into the food colouring and then put it so the water runs over it and onto the sink.
this was shot without a tripod or remote so it was pretty tricky lol.

i kept about another 5 shots but theyre all similar to this one just with varying contrast/brightness etc.
hope that helps.
