The key is to stare directly at it through the viewfinder with your lens wide open. Stare long and hard at the sun until you're absolutely sure you have it right in the center of the frame, focused perfectly. You may hear some sizzling and notice a loss of vision--this is normal. If it happens, just switch to your other eye.

In my setup, the "lens" just happened to be a 45mm 1:180 pinhole though ;)
