all right /p/, help me. i have this manual film camera, and it also has a program mode. the guide says if i set the aperture to f22 (for metering light i guess) it will atomatically set the shutter and aperture, i just have to do the focusing.
quesion is, how does it set the aperture? i mean, i don't think it has a built in motor to do that, and the lens is manual.
camera is actually a chinon cp7-m

true, but i still don't see how the camera can set the aperture which is in the lens (and at the same time the aperture ring is not moving).

There is a pin protruding from the rear of the lens (see picture) which allows the camera to control the aperture. The mechanics inside the lens are made in such a way that the aperture ring doesn't move when the camera does that.
