The only photography I have ever done is your standard family vacation pose-and-say-cheese type, so basically I am a total noob. I want to learn more, however, but everything about cameras and the terminology and technique is kinda confusing, and I cant seem to find any websites with idiot level help. Where can I learn stuff in laymans terms?

kenrockwell.com has some pretty good articles, though at times he comes off as very narrowminded.

The library is always a good place to start. The important things haven't changed in the last 50 years.

forget Ken Rockwell, go and and check out Thom Hogan's site. A much better reviewer than Ken and also much more detailed in technical explainations too.
