are you trollin' or ?
>> sage !i/euDJmWr2
There's a fleshy limb jutting into the picture from nowhere. NOWHERE.

do u even know what cliche means?
>> sage !i/euDJmWr2
>>185899
do you? Because I swear I've seen this exact shot before except in color.

3. anything that has become trite or commonplace through overuse.

Oh, because low shutter speed highway shots are TOTALLY original, sorry.

and the OMG I'M STUCK cage shit, it sucks, nigga, it sucks.
>> Warren !!JL+uuUHRNlZ
OP: It's really neither here nor there. It's not *bad* but there isn't really anything to make it particularly interesting, either. What were you aiming at creating when you made it? Light trails can be cool, but they should be there for a reason.

Keep trying, and don't let the asshats make you feel bad.

this is cliche.

OP? not so much
>> sage !i/euDJmWr2

it's pretty freaking cliche for art students, actually. I see shots like this all of the time.

not bagging on OP, btw, it's just not a very creative picture and relies too much on the cage deal and the long exposure traffic as gimmicks instead of actual composition.

lol, it's OP

i'm gonna have to agree with the majority and call cliche on this shot
the whole hand against shit thing's been done too often, even by me (badly, old pic related)
yours isn't badly done, it's just that it's been done before

ITS SO RAW AND EMOTIONAL
>> CheckTheGate
Well, thanks for all of the comments. I wanted to make it feel like the world is passing you by and you are trapped, but i guess that didn't come across. Thanks for looking anyways.

SHooting someone else's hand = sort of interesting.

Shooting your own hand = MYSPACE FOR HANDS

No, it comes across quite clearly. You've basically combined two cliche shots, though, so that's what everyone commented on. Possibly a good start, but try to find a more subtle way to present the concept. Unless you like heavy visual symbolism, at which case you may want to try to layer in more to deepen it.
>> CheckTheGate
>>186506

This wasn't done in photoshop. Its all in camera and developed in a dark room.
>> elf_man !!DdAnyoDMfCe
>>186549
I didn't say anything about photoshop. No no, "combined", I mean, there's the cliche of "hand grabbing a fence" and the cliche of "light streaks on freeway". You put those two concepts together.
>> sage !i/euDJmWr2
>>186549
lol, I'm pretty sure he isn't talking about PS layers.
>> CheckTheGate
>>186555

I see. I wasn't trying to shoot a life changing photo but I see what your saying.
>> elf_man !!DdAnyoDMfCe
>>186558
Well, fair enough, but an improvement would be to figure out a way to work in more symbolism.
