don't know about osaka, but I do know a few other places.

Lemon sha in ginza.

map camera in shinjuku.

fujiya camera in nakano.

all three of those sell SHITLOADS of old cameras. Fujiya even has a junk section for dirt DIRT cheap old and new lenses (some broken, some just fine).

However, these places can be difficult to find. They all have websites, but I recommend getting someone who speaks japanese or knows their way around to get you to them.

Most people won't know where they are unless they happen to be camera buffs, so don't expect to go to the areas they're in and just ask for directions.

Thanks, I'll ask my friend to check those places out if she manages to get out of Osaka.

Yeah there is a small shop near the Swishotel in Namba Osaka. Ive forgotten which exit to come out off but its on a corner on the diagonal opposite side of the main road outside the main entrance. If you come out of the main entrance and the entrance to the arcade is on your right, its on the left.

Sorry the instructions are crap but its there if you keep looking!

I can vouch for fujiya camera.. go out the north exit of nakano station, towards nakano broadway, and turn right towards the KFC, then turn left until you hit the Pachinko parlor .. I don't remember the specific name. Fujiya camera is around there, ask someone if you get lost. The backstreets of Nakano are pretty tricky.

do you remember what day they update their junk section?

I've been going on mondays and I remember getting lucky twice that way, but for the past few times there's been no updates at all...
