You have the right idea but there's one thing that causes the picture to be just a normal landscape shot. The sky. It just doesn't lok as interesting as what you've got on the ground... maybe recomposing it so the landscape is taking 2/3rds of the screen instead of the horizon being right smack in the middle.
A good rule of thumb is to put the horizon in a place based on whats more interesting. Interesting landscape? Have the horizon up two thirds of the screen. Interesting sky pattern, sunset? Drop the landscape down to taking up only 1/3rd of the screen.
Also, the lighting isn't that good either, not your fault, look at what you were working with that day.
