Nice shot of the flame, but as for the whole image, its lacking a little, and am not quite sure what... Perhaps if he was more front on or took up more of that shocking red, duno

>>238724

Americans, FUCK NO

>>238725

I like it! (inb4 everyone rages about the bad shadows)

I think the shadows are acceptable given the time of day and what she is doing, one thing i will say, is that you should have included all of her hand, and maybe stood a fraction more to the side to capture more of her
>> beethy !vW/UaE6zYU
>>238723
composition is fine, but the person and the pose kinda bore me. it's just not telling me anything it all.
>>238724
this is huge fuckwin
>>238725
nice, but the photo killer for me here is the leg coming out of her neck. major distraction since it's so fucking bright.
>>238728
big dark thing on the left distracts
>>238730
fuckwin again

wait... same 2/5 ratio here for me.. hah
it's great to see you back.. and posting pics, Ac
>> beethy !vW/UaE6zYU

if it was sharper it would be alright... now it's just a blurry photo
>> ac !!VPzQAxYPAMA

>one thing i will say, is that you should have included all of her hand, and maybe stood a fraction more to the side to capture more of her
Agreed. Unfortunately, I had no time to compose at all. It was "Busty wench bending over <click>". Didn't even have time to bring the camera to my eye--was shooting from the chest. By the time the mirror slapped back down, she was standing up straight again.
>> ac !!VPzQAxYPAMA
>>238738
>if it was sharper it would be alright... now it's just a blurry photo
Yeah, she was spinning and I was walking and it was when I was on the way out of the fair (so later in the afternoon, and things were getting dark). I was pleased with how well it came out given the situation, but I do agree that it did come out a lot blurrier than I'd have liked.
>> beethy !vW/UaE6zYU
>>238744
did you try PP it a little?
basically if the blur is mainly 1 direction you can alleviate this by reversing the blur by motion blurring the opposite way.
>> ac !!VPzQAxYPAMA
>>238746
Interesting. Hadn't tried that, no. Probably too lazy to try, though.
>> M?e?e?s?e??? !/pH/IX2jH2
These are all snapshots.

And these are all awful.
>> ac !!VPzQAxYPAMA
>>238752
Oh, don't worry. I actually lurked a bit before coming back, so I already figured out that you were a complete tool. So you don't have to work extra hard to prove that to me.
>> M?e?e?s?e??? !iZn5BCIpug
>>238755
OBVIOUSLY YOU DID NOT LURK ENOUGH.
>> ac !!VPzQAxYPAMA

Ohhh. So there's a swarm of Meeses just like there's a swarm of Beethy's? Okay then.

Sorry, whenever I saw that sort of shit going on, it made me go "Oh yeah, that's why I decided to leave /p/" so it ended the lurking.

go back to lurking, you faggot

get the fuck out of /p/ since you obviously can't take it
>> Anonymous
AC you give good advice but your pictures really are pretty bad.

Why do you never seem to improve?
>> ac !!VPzQAxYPAMA
>>238771
I think I've gotten a lot better. I think you're just looking back on the crap I used to post too favorably.
>> Anonymous
that's pretty sad

because the exposure is pretty fucking off in all of them

get your eyes checked out or get a better screen
>> Anonymous
>>238723
So you still havent figured out how to take sharp images, have you?

I told you this before you left /p/ in the thread where you were showing off that new lens of yours and now I have to tell it to you again. Learn to take sharp images.

Either your lenses are total shit or you just cant figure out how to use them.
>> ac !!VPzQAxYPAMA
>>238776
>because the exposure is pretty fucking off in all of them
Off in which direction? Too bright? Too dark?

They look fine in the three monitors I've got on my desk (two LCDs and a CRT). Are you sure the problem's not on your end?
>> ac !!VPzQAxYPAMA
>>238779
"Sharpness is a bourgeoise concept" --HCB

(Granted, he made up for lack of sharpness with better subjects and composition and lighting than I'll ever have)

this thread went downhill basically the second meese entered it.

i'm on a $8,000 lacie, so no
>> heavyweather !4AIf7oXcbA
>>238732
Best frame of the lot. Readable action, nice little bit of motion blur (though IMO, could use a hair more. I like 1/125 for that purpose), clean background.

Okay, some general criticisms... everyone fills the whole frame. For certain shots this works, but not every shot. Step back, loosen up your composition, learn to love that negative space. Remember that you're not shooting the person, you're shooting the event. Try to give the images context without resorting to captions, you know?

I'll chat whicha about the other stuff that's on my mind.

BEST MONITOR IN THE THREAD, THREAD OVER
>> ac !!VPzQAxYPAMA
>>238789
I think I remember having this conversation with you before.

LCD or CRT? How old? Given that LaCie's most expensive monitor in its current lineup is a little over $2K, my guess was that your monitor was growing dim with age.
>> ac !!VPzQAxYPAMA
>>238793
... and I seem to recall you not answering last time, either...
>> Anonymous
>>238793
Also keep in mind you're relying on his judgment and taste just as much as his monitor.
>> Anonymous
hey, good try on checking their website

they don't make them anymore and every shop with the budget would be all over one

3840x2400 lcd that displays true black, 16-bit and 98% adobe rgb gamut

good try though
>> Anonymous
also

for those interested, viewsonic makes one too

http://www.engadget.com/2004/07/06/viewsonics-23-inch-vp2290b-lcd-puts-even-those-new-apple/

but the colors aren't as good because the panel is super low quality, so it's shit sucks
>> ac !!VPzQAxYPAMA
>>238813
What's the model numer?
>> Anonymous
i dunno, it's 23"

i'm trying to find it online

there is no number on the display
>> Anonymous
Why would you need/want a monitor this big? The awesome color, true black, etc. I get, but what the hell is normal 1024x768 insufficient for at a desk?
>> Anonymous
>>238819

because a 10 mp file is 3888*2592

try to display that in your 1024*768 at 1:1
>> Anonymous
>>238820
Why would I need to?
>> Anonymous
then you don't need a $8,000 monitor
>> ac !!VPzQAxYPAMA
>>238820
Seems like a resizing algorithm would be a better use of your money than an $8K LCD...
>> Anonymous
okay, i'll admit

i was exaggerating, i don't know the real price

but it's in the few thousands, maybe 3 or 4
>> ac !!VPzQAxYPAMA
>>238825
Just admit that you have a $12 CRT from Goodwill and we'll leave you alone.
>> Anonymous
>>238824
Exactly. I'd really like to hear an explanation as to why for a desk monitor you need something like this. Because I need something else to put on the same list as the Leica M8 and the Noct-Nikkor.
>> Anonymous
>>238828
>>238827

uh because they can? if you can accept the color fidelity, why can't you accept the high resolution

you can settle for 3 or 4 different screens but it's a hassle to manage windows in them

open 4 or 5 different files in aperture, and process each one differently for clients to see

cropped, they will all display at 1:1 at 100% in the same screen

your 12 mp 40d is great for you, some other guy needs his 21 mp 1ds3
