hehe in b4 a flame war of epic proportions

I'm glad to see another sony body, though.

So is this an actual product or just an artist's mockup?

ZOMG!

That totally looks like a render.

Sony sucks anyway. I'm a devout Canonite.

Renders aren't made with Phase One backs.

It's a render. I can tell from the pixels and having seen a few renders in my time.

And EXIF can be edited very easily.

i think its a photo with shooped lens color/flare/lighting/etc

It's too smooth looking to be a real photo. No reflections, no dust, no irregularities in texture, no manufacturing defects (even the slightest), too perfect lighting etc.

However, is this really important? Sony may have made a real mock-up of this camera and photographed it, but this wouldn't change the fact that we won't see it in stores in the nearest future.

Looks cool. I've got a Sony A100, love it :)

Okay, I found information on what this is. It is, apparently, nothing. Sony still hasn't released any specs--this "game over" for Canon is apparently just Sony having released a shop'd picture of the non-functional mockups they were showing at PMA07.

For all we know, it could be a 2.0x crop sensor that shoots 2MP at .03fps for $5000.

I'm guessing you were the same person who posted basically this same thread after they showed the nonfunctional mockups at PMA? Since when Canon has released things like the 1D mk III? Given how slowly Sony's moving, they'll probably have a 1Ds Mk III and a 1D mk IV by the time these actually come out.

1. It is a render.
2. Sony has nothing on Canon, picture related.
3. Both have nothing on my ME Super, ktnxbye.

It's a fucking photo. It is NOT a render.

1. If it's a photo, it's so heavily shop'd so as to make it look like a render.
2. Even that being the case, it's a photo of a vaporware product. Not only can you not yet buy it, they haven't even released any specs on it. There's a "Well, it's got a huge pentaprism, so it's probably full-frame" assumption floating around, but it might just be big to look more impressive. Or maybe they want to make it full-frame but haven't finished figuring out how to make the chip yet.

If thats the body design its going to be horrible to hold because it just looks heavy and uncomfortable. Wonder if it has a blu-ray card or some shit like that.

I wouldn't put it past 'em to make a pro-level digital SLR and equip it with a damn Memory Stick slot instead of CompactFlash (or even SD).

>>52551
Memory Stick M2, for lulz.
>> Anonymous
Memory sticks fucking suck.
>> Anonymous
>>52551

Even Sony had to admit that memory sticks sucked for the A100 - that's a CF camera (It's got a sucky adapter if you want to use memory sticks, but if you do, you're a tool).
>> ac !!VPzQAxYPAMA
>>52569
Are you sure they actually admitted that? It might have just been that they wanted to get it out the door as quickly as possible, so they scrounged the CF reader from the Minolta tech they bought instead of building it with an MS reader.

Can't be that hard to change the memory reader, sony didn't exactly get the A100 out the door fast after buying minolta. Data transfer rates from memory sticks are a bit weedy next to CF - they'd be laughed out of the SLR market if they put that crap on it.
