Guys, do I have any skill with a camera? I can't afford a good SLR just yet, but I'll share a few I've snagged with my Nikon P4. Please be honest.

Plus, I'm open to any constructive criticism.

Thus, I bring you: An apple. This pic is actually a few years old(dated 9-4-06)

you definitly dont have any skill with the resizing tool - thats for sure.

pics look umm..
boring?

I mean, if i was REALLY needing a pic of an apple i wouldnt be into that apple shot.

lacks punch.
needs some PP
and its 4:3 and not 3:2

Apple is dead center.

1) composition, learn it
2) don't randomly pick one of the thousand of pictures you've taken and think that it'll look good. the other half of being a good photographer is being able to determine how much of the crap you've taken is actually worth showing. if you have any decent pics these three are not it.

truth

in the last 10,000 images
i have 20 that i consider good
and 5 that ive bothered printing and framing

look back at your work from your first 3years of photography ( unless you learn very quick )

and you will lol at how rubbish most of it is
10 points of you have taken photos of

1) rusty car bumper and converted to sepia
2) an old rusty shack, also converted to sepia
3) a HRD image of a cat :P
