I love my K20D, my first dSLR after many years of Olympus Pen-FT and various 35+120 filmcams and PNS digicams. K10D is good (so I hear), K20D is rather much better. When I bought it a few months ago, it was the only under-US$5K body over 12 mpx.
Major reasons to buy a K20D:
* Ruggedized build; long battery life; flexible. * All those nice fat juicy dripping megapixels. * Use virtually any old Pentax-compatible lens. * It's not a Canikonypus -- be a damn maverick!
Major reasons not to buy a K20D:
* It's not a Canikonypus; so, small fan club. * You might NEED a costly super-pro dSLR, eh? * Low-light AF could be better, so be still. * Pentax' roadmap and future are rather foggy.
I chose the K20D because 1) Pentax had the lenses I wanted; 2) it had the best price / performance curve; 3) users raved about it. I'm quite happy with it. Whether it's for YOU depends on your budget, needs and expectations.
