Yeah, it'd be pretty damn strange if it doesn't have a focus motor. Superteles are the only lenses that having an in-body focus motor really affects anything for.

In before people baaawing about their autofocus not instantly moving from infinity to five centimeters and acting like mechanical linkage is some antiquated thing.

Almost all Nikon-mount Sigma lenses are either screw-driven or HSM, that's why "no HSM = no AF on D40". The 200-500 is an exception to this.
