BAT PHOTOS Anonymous
9000 HOURS IN PAINT
ok /p this summer i want to take some photos of the bats that fly around my town.
and i'm looking for some advice on lighting and lenses
essentially what I want to do is take a shot as they pass in front of some stadium floodlights so I dont have to worry about using flash.
Lens wise i'm thinking of using an 80-205mm f4.5 zoom and a shutter speed of 250-500.
Is this feasable, or without going kit crazy is there another way of getting some passable photos

You're taking these shots at night, correct?

If so this will be next to impossible.

It depends on how bright the lights are. There's no way to tell for sure without trying it.
