I suppose that's a good thing, then :)
My dad gave me my first real camera, a Canon a-1 with one lens, 15 years ago. I took it and I shot it until it broke on my very last roll (of moose) In Yellowstone national park. After that, I had a camera I dont' really remember, I think I took more pictures with dad's. Then I upgraded to an n60 and took lots of pictures on trips with dad and in my backyard, then sports photos for the newspaper in college. Then that broke and I upgraded to my current n80. I am looking to upgrade to a new (film) camera again right now.
Photography has always been a huge, huge part of my life and in my family. To be honest, my earlier pictures that I was really proud of at the time really suck now that I look back at them, but i've grown into my own. Without that experience and those encounters, though, I wouldn't be where I am, and where I finally arrived to an acceptable (in my opinion) level in 2000. If you count just that, i've 7 years of experience, then.
