So I just got a roll back from the lab and there are these fucking godawful lines over the print.

Looking at the negatives, there is a scratch on them. What the hell could have done this?

Is there anyway to digitally fix them? I will love and adore anyone who can do it, as these pictures mean a lot to me.

You might have a light leak, shit on the lens, or you just fucked up on the development.

Either way, clone tool should fix it.

No light leak or shit on the lens. There is an actual scratch on certain frames of film and I never touched the film at all except loading.

This exposure is from the same roll

FYI, these were taken on Fuji Superia 400.
I am really underwhelmed with the quality, I have to say.

interesting; my n80 does the same thing sometimes. I find just take a cleaning cloth and very lightly dust/clean off the surface of the curtain. It seems to make the lines go away for me, so maybe it will for you too.

better

that's why I never really go beyond provia, velvia 100, astia, ilford 400 SP2, tmax 100 and provia 400. I tried color print film for some other things and it turned out horrid :/

mmm, I'm really inclined to think that it was something at the lab that did it, because it only seems like the first 10 exposures on the roll have the scratch. That being said, a tiny speck of dust dragged against the film and the curtain could do this. Who knows. Not a great feeling looking at your beloved photos and finding this though in any case.

I had the same thing happen to one of my best shots, i get it intermintenly too. Give it a try and test it out... it works for me, but otherwise you could take your camera in to get cleaned.

ICE on a Nikon coolscan will remove this no problems.

I get these lines now and then too, its from the developing machine at the lab, it doesn't worry me so much as ICE removes the lines without fail.

well, check your negatives if you can see the line running on the film.if you don't, it can be the fault of the scanner, my scanner at home also did something like this.

it's either the camera or poor processing. try another film and at another lab and see if you still have the problem. good labs to process negatives are hard to find. either they send it out (cheaper, better, but takes a few days) or they have their own machine (more expensive, more risks)

i see the lines when i get colour print films back (before i run them though my scanner), but it only happens on colour print as my local has an old Noritsu machine, and when i get E6 film they send it away and it comes back with no scratches, also i doubt my F5 would scratch my film.
