hey /p/this is my conclusion, after weeks of lurking gear threads and checking many and i mean many exif data's.ive concluded on getting a d200 as a first camera as it has awesome features and superior quality.I was thinking about the lower end models, d40,d40x,d70,d80 and then i realised that id need to upgrade from those fairly quickly which the d200 will give me space and time to learn :) a good solid camera.ken rockwell will be mad because im not buying a d300 :( D300 really tempting but soo expensive especially if i want a decent prime too.what i wanted to ask was, what lenses fit on this camera as im very confused about the catoulogues of nikon and the way they name there lenses,! thanks alot :)
F-mount lenses
op,do i just search f mount?pretty blunt answer.
wikipedia, congrats on comming to nikon :D
any F-mount.if your looking in a catalogue, any lens you see in there will work 100%.Any MF lens you see will also work too.
Get a Canon EOS 5D instead.
http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/compatibility-lens.htmPretty much anything F-Mount except for really old ones (pre-1977) that haven't been updated for compatibility with new cameras.See alsohttp://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/nikortek.htm
hmm 5D's are alot more expensive arnt they?and ive always been atracted to nikons quality build but id have to have a play around with bothe of them :)thanks alot for all your helps :D
itt nikon circle jerks. But congrats on the dslr op.You'll enjoy it.
>>169154you can drive nails with nikonit's true, someone on /p/ did it, that's always a plus
>>169134OP, that's an awesome choice. Enjoy your SLR learning experience! And Ken Rockwell just PRETENDS to know shit, but really doesn't have a fuckin' clue.
Great choice though a Nikon D80 should be more than enough.
looking forward to another waste of a d200.
>>169288poorfag,cant aford lol.
D200 doesnt have any anti-dust protection.fail.
the d80 gives the d200 a run for the money. Besides the magnesium alloy body and 5 frames per second. the d80 is prob the better pick. But if you can find a d200 body for a good deal get it.
a challenger appears
Fuck NikonGet a 30(or 40)D.
>>169596clearly OP is not thinking straight as he only mentioned nikon dslr's in his OP...
>>169596>>169624can you suggest a better camera for price, lense's and quality?
>>169574op here,i could get a d80 for $600 - $700 Audor a D200 $700 - $900 aud ?
>>169677yes; maybe
>>169677I'f it's just the body you're talking about, then yeah most likely.
