Am I the only person who prefers not to spread the source of light around the room rather than have a single (Albeit still soft) bounce location?
Most diffusers simply chuck light all around the room (including directly at your subject) And also tend to light up objects in the background at a similar power to your subject. Which I don't think is good all the time.
I prefer a bit of angle and light falloff in portraits, even candid style shots at events and whatnot. Pic related, No diffuser, Flash fired directly up at a white roof. (Sorry about the watermark, I'm not at my home computer)
