It looks like a carbonated beverage in a vasem wutg a straw.
I'm guessing there's like coming from either the bottom or the top, that it's shot in a dark room facing a window or Christmas lights (hence the nice BORKEH lights in the back of the vase), and that the sides have been blacked out with a sheet or PP or something.

How did you light this vase, what was behind it, what was the setup, etc etc.

Well, actually I think it's the oxygen coming from the water due to it being heated by the sunshine that fell on the vase.

There was no real "setup" - I just walked into the bedroom, saw the vase thought "Hey, this looks nice", grabbed my camera and did some shots.

It's true that it's in front of a window - on a sill more precisely with no direct light from the back, only light entering from the top (right).

Blacking out the left and right side was done with The GIMP afterwards.
