i was at fry's and found a cheap "patriot" 2gb sd card for 7 bucks. i know nothing about write speeds or anything and hoped it wouldn't suck. it worked just fine. i guess there's nothing to worry about when using my d40 cuz it's only 6mp and 2.5fps. i dunno. thought i'd share.

it will do it's job for 7 bucks. it may be a slow encoding speed for raw and such but who cares. it was 7 bucks.

scratch that you probably won't be able to tell that big of a difference between it and the current one you have.

i think a major point for higher priced cards is reliability, to me thats the most important thing considering i may come home from a weekend with a corrupt card :(

nah there's no noticeable difference between this one and my lexar platinum II 1gb 60x speed (just typing what i see on the card) and i shoot raw.

how do cards become corrupted? sometimes when i stick my lexar in my computer it says "would you like to scan your card and fix your files" or something like that. is that a corrupted card? I can still upload all my images...
