How is the sigma 30mm f1.4 as a portrait prime for the 4/3 system?
Focal length will be equiv to 60mm.

The 50mmf2.0 is too expensive

100mm seems pretty long for a portrait lens
80s pretty close to 85 which i think is regarded as a really good portrait focal length, the extra stop could come in handy, AND you can afford it.
i just got the sigma 24mm f1.8 and if the 30mm is anything like it it should be a pretty nice lens. i like my 24mm a lot.

85 and 135 are both classic portrait lengths.

oh and i like doing portraits and the 24 seems to do pretty good, real nice bokeh.

oh and 60 not 80 so i guess disregard that lol.

135 still seems long to me, but i like to be close/ish to what im taking a picture of.

I've always heard 85-105mm as the "ideal portrait range."

But then again, there's the Leica Summilux-R 80/1.4 and Pentax 77/1.8 (covers 36x24, pre-digital, etc.), both pretty much designed to be portrait lenses, the Pentax explicitly so.

And normals look fine for portraits, so long as you're using them right- as do every focal length. The 30/1.4 will be fine, really.

No-one knows the 'perfect' focal length, its all down to personal preference, each length giving a different effect.
The Nikon 400/f2.8 is often used as a portrait lens; the incredible focal length flatterns facial features apparently. I'll find the article about it.

Is there a sharpness test of this lens?
Like comparing from f/1.4 --> f/x.x

It's OK for portraits, maybe a bit short for headshots of people with big noses. Compared to 50/2, the Sigma is much softer - but then, the 50/2 is so sharp that I've heard of people faking a slight soft focus effect in photoshop to make portraits taken with the 50/2 look smoother.

>100mm seems pretty long for a portrait lens
You can shoot portraits with any lens, some are just handier than others. Pic related, it's 1000mm equivalent.
