Alright, so I'm not a camera person at all, but I'm getting a book scanner which uses cameras. The list of cameras they have looks a little out dated, some of the models have been updated, and I'm not sure if the newer cameras work as well. Anyway, presumably they all work just fine for the scanner, but my question is which would be good to have as a camera on its own when I'm not scanning anything?Supported cameras:Canon Powershot G9Canon Powershot G7Canon Powershot A620Canon Powershot A640Canon Powershot S80Canon Powershot S3 ISCanon Powershot S5 ISEXIF data available. This is so you can scan Hentai books right? I see no other possible use for this contraption.Canon Powershot G9 or Canon Powershot A640 for half as much. Both are great cameras.
Err, you are going to scan A LOT of books right? And I mean, A LOT, to make up for the cost.In any case, get they cheapest one. It will be good enough for the setup you'll be working with.
>>273627Yes, but it might be nice to have a camera to use as a camera... right?
canon G7 or G9$1500 for something I can do with some wood, a pane of glass, and a usb cable? it doesn't even flip pages ...no thanks booksnap
the booksnap software doesn't actually have ocr. it just advertises that the quality of the images are good enough for the ocr process.
>>273652>.> That's retarded.
