Henri Cartier-Bresson - Magnum photographer, considered one of the greats in street style photography.

>>120006
Edward Burtynsky - Contemporary photographer, does mostly landscapes exploring Man's impact on the environment. Photos such as this one sell for $15,000-25,000 per print in galleries.

Shitty pic is shitty. Subject is out of focus and there's far too much grain for it to ever be taken seriously. If all you've got is a crappy pocket cam, you're just as well off not taking the photo.

Worth $2 to me. I know of Cartier-Bresson and he is one of the few street photographers I really respect, but this pic is really terrible.

I actually really like this one.

Dear Anon.

What do you expect?
This is a place where AMATUER photographers come together to share their work for feedback, criticism and advice.

Hardly any of us make good money off what we do.
We do it for fun!

NOW GTFO >:D

90% of the really good photographs I've taken are portraits of some sort of my best friend, who has a bad view of anything remotely related to 4chan because her ex-lover is a big /b/tard and absolutely incompetent when it comes to relationships. And she actually didn't know there was a difference between 4chan and /b/ until a few weeks ago. I don't think she'd be too keen on my posting pictures of her to /p/, even if it's "the opposite of /b/."

So that's why I don't post many photographs.

This is an interesting comparison. The former is a copy of the latter, but technically superior. It is in sharp focus, has no grain, more detail, etc, but it sucks in comparison. It's a boring to look at, the image has no flow or balance to it, and it lacks the dynamic element of Cartier-Bresson's. One can look at Cartier-Bresson's photo many times and still find something interesting, whereas a passing glance is all that's necessary to see all that the copy has to offer. This is the difference between a photographer who is concerned more with the technical aspect than the compositional aspect, the difference between a novice and a master.
