its way too dark
>> Anonymous
let me rephrase that. what do you think could be better and how?
>> Anonymous
You could...get a better exposure so its not so dark.
>> Anonymous
I like it dark, sets the mood of the sub (it aint no yellow one thast for sure)

hehe, yeah. I was trying to capture the mood of the ship. where it has been, what it was. Its sinister past. I wasn't taking a picture of a piece of metal, It was a piece of history. I toned the exposure down in the raw file because at the normal exposure there was too much activity able to be seen in the background. only so much dof you can get with f/4. In any respect On all the monitors I have viewed the pic on I don't really get a lack of light; then again I haven't taken the time to view it on crt monitors =\

problem: you cant tell what it is unless you tell us. the only thing you can see is the circular things, then the rest of the picture has no detail. i cant even tell what those circular things are. lights? buttons? theres setting the mood, then theres just dark.

because i know everything about a cold war era russian submarine?

its meant as part of the image. its foreign, its something we dont know. I'm not really asking about the subject matter. And other than the suggestions of exposure, im looking for input on composition.

Photography is not supposed to be an objective behavior unless you want it to be. and in this case it is not supposed to be an objective situation.

you still. cant. tell. what. it. is. at. all. you cant see ANYTHING other than the button things. if you saw more of the guages and stuff you might know its the inside of a sub, or a tank, or something along those lines. right now its just a log of black and the button things.
im gonna guess the composition is at too shallow of an angle so you cant really see anything, but you were trying to be artistic, so you automatically get free art points from that.

It was shot at about a 35* angle maybe 40* from the panel. about 1.5ft away from the panel as well. When I get home from work I will post the original higher exposure shot for comparison.

I slightly over exposed this one from the original, not by much though.

probably should have taken the shot of some other area. this area is bland. just looks some some random dials and a handle. if you wanted to "set the mood" for "something foreign that we dont know" it shouldve been something recognizable. like a radar screen or periscope or something.

hehe, dun worries i got plenty of those, just wanted input on this one atm. Ill upload the rest here in a sec

This one is actually from a very large steam ship; inside the boiler room.
