I did *almost* everything in that development process perfectly. Had my soup at exactly 68, had all my chemicals measured perfectly, got the timing exactly right.

Would've been great. If I hadn't loaded the film into the *top* spool instead of the *bottom* spool, thus insuring that it would have touched the developer for more than 10 seconds out of every minute.

Sigh.

/p/, please make me feel better about my incompetence by telling me ways that you have fucked up.

I was lost in a David Bowie song while developing my first roll of 120 and accidentally opened the tank up to pour out the developer instead of just opening the cap. I only got 1 or 2 printable negs out of that one so I had no idea if my newly purchased TLR was broken or if it was all just a result of my idiocy.

i once shot an entire day's worth of photos on the same frame with my then-brand new F100. I had the stupid dial set to multiple exposure.

Then I couldn't figure out how to rewind the film (the camera wasn't counting exposures, because i had accidentally opened the back after loading the roll).

Digital screw-up, instead of film.

I had read a few things about deleting too many photographs off a memory card screwing stuff up, but I had always done it with shitty toy cameras just fine.

I was having to strech a memory card, and was basically editing on the camera. Deleting anything that didn't come out.

Four or five shots from the card got blocked over with grey. Luckily, none of them were really good ones to begin with.

i used up my 2gig sd card on bullshit videos then when i really needed it for pictures it said memory card full and i was like fuckkkk and scrambled to delete the videos but i lost the moment for the pix and it sucked lulz

I forgot to change the tape holding the back of my camera shut, the back poked up and I lost all the good pictures of my roll to exposure.

I was stupid and didn't pull over; missed a fighter plane against a HUGE bright rainbow.

Took too damn long (because i'm stubborn) to use a tripod on my night photography shots and wasted about 60 rolls of Velvia from hand-holding.

>and wasted about 60 rolls of Velvia from hand-holding.

Please tell me this wasn't all at once.

Sixty rolls of film? Dear God...
>> elf_man !fBgo7jDjms
Back in middle school, this was with some p&s nikon I had at the time, I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't take a picture. So, I cracked the back open to peek in, see if anything was wrong. Didn't look like anything was, so I closed it. Turned out I was at the end of the roll and just needed to rewind the thing. Ugh. Fortunately it only hurt a couple frames.
>> Liska !!LIVFOETqL8j
>>78028

No, it was two trips. 30 rolls a shoot.

ITT we waste our first rolls of Delta 3200?
I won't be so hasty to reload the camera next time and will check for light leaks / proper reassembly.

30*36=1080.

Dear God.

I went early to my school's darkroom to develop some film that I had such high expectations for. I guess I was in a early morning daze because I didn't screw the top on and when I turned the canister over to dump out the developer everything comes tumbling out.
>> Liska !!LIVFOETqL8j
>>78032

38 exposures per roll. That's normal for me, but wih the damn Tripod I can't photograph as much, so it keeps me in check too.
>> elf_man !fBgo7jDjms
>>78030
30 rolls a shoot? That actually seems a bit higher than normal for you.

goooood god, liska. i'm a fellow filmfag, and i go through slides pretty fast, but jesus christ. where do you find the money for 60 rolls in two trips?

oh, and i can totally agree about being an idiot for not buying a tripod sooner. my photography started getting a lot better and more refined once i had to actually set up and pay attention. plus, no more blurred shots. remarkable that i put up with it for so long.
>> Liska !!LIVFOETqL8j
>>78040

wait till i get paid. Obviously can't do it anymore tho. I'm trying to play it a bit smarter, but i agree. tripod made a HUGE difference. AC wanted to feel better, i figured that'd help.

In order to prevent that kind of fuckup, I just put one reel in the tank if I'm only going to be developing one roll.

I'm used to the old fashioned film canisters. I went to a local darkroom and they had a bunch of spiffy new "twist" canisters or some shit. It looked sorta loose and like it was about to fall out but the guy was like "don't worry about it"

So mid way during the development, I started up my bad habit of pretending my canisters where maraccas and all my shit flies out everywhere.

I've stuffed up my film twice even before i could develop it.

Twice i have opened the back of my Petri7 forgetting there is already a film in it, but lucky it only exposes about the last 4 or 5 frames.

Pic very related.

It seems to me that that would cause air bubbles and be bad regardless of the type of canister you're using.

was taking lake pictures... accidentally dropped my camera and god a double exposure of a wall hook and forgot to take it out of my set when i sent them to some publishers... for some reason it was the only one published. :/

Not me, but someone I know, was developing his film, and used paper developer by mistake. OOOPS!
the film came out entirely transparent.

i've had that problem with my D70, i've got one of the early models thats known to have CF card read failure, but now since got that fixed for free by Nikon.
>> angrylittleboy !wrJcGUHncE
>>78085

It started happening when I inserted the card incorrectly. I'm not sure if it's the card or the contacts inside the camera, but either way, I'll drop by Fuji one of these days for it.

I just got my first film camera and after a couple of shots, my camera stopped working. The camera was giving me an error code "E ff". Being the bright person I am, I popped the sucker open exposing the film.
>> OPFOR
>>78091
My mistake, the error code was F EE
>> thefamilyman !!rTVzm2BgTOa
>>78091
i dunno if its related or even helps, but if your using a nikon auto slr, you will get an error reading of "fEE" if the aperture ring is not set to the largest number

>In order to prevent that kind of fuckup, I just put one reel in the tank if I'm only going to be developing one roll.
Yeah, it occurred to me that that would be a very good idea shortly after I pulled out the roll and realized that I'd fucked everything up.

My first development ever, everything went perfectly, except due to all excitement I poured all freshly made fixer solution down the drain, instead of back into the beaker.

Quite recently, I was mixing new fixer solution and in a hurry pulled the pulling thing of a syringe out. 25+ ml of concentrate went all over my hand, pants, and most of all into the non-removable floor lining of the room which I accidentally used to live and sleep in until 2 weeks ago. Shit stank for well over a month, despite multiple attempts to get it out. I'd like to believe what I read that thiosulphate quickly oxidises into some non-harmful stuff. ;/ And regarding the hand and pants thing, guess I should be glad it wasn't Rodinal concentrate.

Had no choice and tried pushing old Fomapan 200 to 800 and believed the data sheet that development time didn't need to be extended. So much for some family photos.

Figured out it would be a good idea to try to fix a broken cloth shutter (glue it back to the spool) in some Zenit by myself. At least I got all the parts back in.

That's all I can remember from ever since I started messing with stuff. Not too bad I guess.

Only thing I've ever done wrong was load my first film camera incorrectly and when I developed the negatives, got nothing. I also fucked that reel up because I put it on the reel incorrectly and had opaque spots thw first half of the roll.
