i dunno, I like the many shades of grey in her hair, and any more contrast would throw off her skin tone too much and the flower is already lost in the background due to the contrast. From what I see, there's a dark black and pretty crisp white already. is the flower underexposed in the negative? If it is, then there is no hope in getting the flower to come out because the detail never got captured in the film. However, if not, then try burning it like you said. I'd try burning the bottom right corner as well. that could really help. other than the loss of detail in the whites, i really love this photo.
