Buying from Digital Rev on Ebay. Good? Bad?
>> sage rage
i have found them to be acceptable. their prices are not the ZOMG cheapest, but they are probably the best comprimise between price and trust (on ebay)

They seem trustworthy enough, but I always manage to find a better deal than what they got.

I've been burnt a few times on Ebay, so I'm going for what>>272309said about the compromise between trust and price.

you may want to try DigiGood
I bought a 580exII from them a few months ago, was a US market flash, but I got it for 270 euros off ebay NEW and even got 50 euros cashback despite it being a US flash. (just mailed canon the paypal receipt)

580exII new for 220 euros, can't beat that... as a matter of fact it cost around 450 (speak 400 with cashback) euros in photography stores around here back then.

If you're looking for a good UK eBay dealer you could try "kerso". There's another one that is meant to be good too, but I haven't dealt with them personally and I can't recall the name.

Non-eBay I'd suggest www.onestop-digital.com

Oh yeah, watch out for import tax and such on anything you get from DigitalRev as it's all coming in from Hong Kong, I believe. I know some people that have been stung by that before. Check each auction very carefully to make sure what is covered with that item. Don't make the mistake of assuming you won't be paying that.

Hey OP,

I bought a Canon 30D & Sigma 18-50 pro lens. Awesome customer service, items all good.

Guaranteed to cover import tax if I recieved any.. Check the auction to make sure it covers you for this also otherwise its a bit of a gamble.

it's the big if that is the problem there. they only have limited auctions that cover the "no vat guaranteed" thing. with the rest you are fucked.

Kerso is awesome. Why buy from Hong Kong when you can get it from the UK and for less to boot? Kerso has great communications, seems to know his stuff and generally is a gent. He rotates his stock quickly and stuff changes all the time. If there's something you want you can ask him about it. It's a small operation, so you deal with the organ grinder rather than the monkeys.

I and others have also had no trouble getting the cashback from kerso bought gear. I don't know about DigitalRev's stuff.

The other guy selling in the UK is as good as kerso for price and service. I'll ask around and find the name if you're still interested. I know someone that bought from them instead before and recommended them to me.
