what kind of photos do you want to take? Social document, Cityscape, Street, Urban Wildlife?

Also, don't be lazy. Get off your fat ass and drive or bike around to find your spots. Relying on other people will just give you the same shit they've been taking.

Last time I went downtown, I did a few shots of the pedestrian tunnels connecting the civic buildings, then I got a few shots of overgrown underpasses and then wandered onto the sidewalk on the 110 to take pictures of the tunnels that pass through the hills on the 110 east. It was rather nice and had tons of opportunities.

There's plenty of shit downtown, I didn't even know what I'd find when I took a bus in. Get off your ass and grab your camera.
