is the canon powershot sd750 a good compact little point and shoot camera? its only 150$ roughly. i was looking to get a relatively priced point and shoot compact digital camera.

im not sure about that particular point and shoot camera, maybe you should look at more point and shoot cameras around the price of that point and shoot camera

i think any relatively new point and shoot camera would be okay, considering that they are point and shoot cameras

I've been doing research for weeks. the powershot sd750 is one of the top three. The other is sd1000 and sd850. The only few bad things about the sd750 is that:

1) it doesn't have an optical viewfinder so you've to rely on the lcd screen which drains the batteries.

2) the picture quality might not be perfect, you might notice some noise or blurriness when it's up to iso 6. But hey you get what you pay for.

3) the button on top is located in a weird location that you have to get use to.

4) you MIGHT encounter the dreaded lens error. When that happens the lens doesn't go back in and your camera becomes essentially useless.

the sd750 is ranked as the best ultracompact camera on cnet and third best selling on amazon.com. Most people have no problems with it except for the lower quality pictures. But the thing is, if you want something better like 4x optical zoom or 8.0 mp or optical stabilizer you're have to dish out around $250. So, assuming the sd750 doesn't encounter the lens error after you buy it you're getting a really decent deal.

Good luck.

do you think that the prices will go down anytime soon? im ok with paying 250 dollars for a nice compact but i dont want to buy it and then have the price drop the next month

It probably will drop. by ten or twenty dollars every month. but new cameras costs hundreds more.

If you keep waiting for camera prices to come down, you'll never actually buy a camera. Dropping prices are the way of technology. You just have to accept it.

yup but id rather wait like 1 week or w/e and not have to pay as much. minimum wage is ftl. only 17 lol

Why not the A-series? For the same price, you can get something better albeit bulkier compared to the SD series although it'll still be pocketable.
