sup /p/ i have two important questions to ask.

One: What can I use to create a blood-like substance? When i say blood-like I mean that it isn't overly liquidy like just red dye in water.

Two: What materials/technique can I use for backgrounds? I want it to be all white and let the subject somewhat fade into the white. I could always try to photoshop that effect but it'd be easier the less work I have to do.

Thanks in advance.

chocolate milk's pretty thick, but if that's not enough you can always warm it up and add a little cornstarch.

Isn't corn syrup... sugar? I don't think you'd want to clean that up.

I'll have to try it out. Starch is a good idea.

I dunno I heard corn syrup with dye was used for blood quite commonly, and I assumed it was liquid because of the 'syrup' bit.

I do and did last time but sometimes things are unavoidable when it wrinkles by placing your subject, or the surface or something like that.

Also, anyone know how I would fade the subject into a white background? Possibly even using photoshop.

If information helps the subject I want to fade into white [this time] will be the legs of a ladder.

perhaps try using a powerful flash and over expose, like a "high key" style of photo? hopefully that should semi blur the edges out.
r.e computer manipulation im stumped on that lol.

I was considering using that however I don't want the powerful flash to mess around with other parts of the picture.

I think I'll take many trial shots and see where I can go from there with photomanips or ask my friend whos pretty good at photoshop.

Also still wondering of -other- ways to make blood. Thanks to all that have helped

Just do it the old fashioned way. Open up a vein.

YOU MUST SUFFER FOR YOUR ART.

yea, and make it even artier.
find an old lens and smash it then use the glass shards to cut yourself.

lol, you could say your "opening up your veins to a wider aperture" :P
