question about "in-between" steps of ISO Anonymous
i just got a new camera and this one lets me use the ISO in steps in-between the normal ones

like instead of going from 100-200-400-800-1600, i can select 125-160-250-320-500 etc

my question is does this hurt the image quality in a way? back in the day, i would just shoot either 200 or 400 and if i needed less or more light, i would fix it in RAW in the exposure slider and that does the same thing as this, right?

so i'm just wondering if since this is being done in-camera, is it as good as doing it in a proper RAW processing program? or does that not affect it at all because it's RAW?

its pushing it automatically, doing it by yourself in post would be better.

ISO 200, 400, 800, 1600, etc. is also pushed from your camera's base ISO. The more you knew

nifty little chart for the 40D

pretty much, avoid 1/2 or 1/3 stops for ISO, stick to full stops

ISO 200 depending on base ISO, not on my A100 :3

I remember last time someone asked it was advised against, presumably because they dont use as efficient algorithms but i've no proof.

can anyone explain why kodak make the 160 portra? also the Fujicolor 160S and 160C?

in-camera iso is/can be done in the analog stage so it should be preferred to pushing in post.

try it and the difference should be very clear.
