I'm rather underwhelmed with what you've presented.
You've failed to tell us what type of photography you want to do for a living, which would effect the type of school you should go to.
I do not know anything about RIT, but a quick peek at the website it would seem like the right school to go to if you want to do photography for businesses, like advertising work. If you want to do fine art photography, I would still go to a school like RIT that doesn't seem to focus to on fine art. Fine art training is mostly useless. Being able to take good photos is important, but not as important as meeting people, being able to sell and advertise yourself, and being able manage your own affairs if you end up self employed. TAKE A BUSINESS AND AN ACCOUNTING CLASS if you intend to be self employed.
