Wonder when DSLR's will have a built in mp3 player..
They basically have everything for it. SD card, audio outputs..
Someone should hack the firmware to include it.

listening to music while taking photos is like wearing a blindfold while taking pictures

but i guess no one on /p/ is actually working with models and have to direct people. you're all content with doing "street photography" and shooting in your basement

i'm sure DC knows what i'm talking about

Its not exactly practical, you'd have to have the headphone wire attached, but its a gimmick that'd appeal to poserfags that make up the huge percentage of the cheap dslr market.. D40's & Canons equiv.

they said playing MP3s on your cell phone is a stupid idea too, now each one of them can play MP3s

it's just one less device to carry and they can charge a premium for it, like that BLACK GOLD D60 edition

I used to listen to an mp3 player while shooting sports, but then I figured it'd be better for me to hear as much as I can in case someone gets kicked in the balls or flipped or thrown into the air. You'd be surprised how often the crowd can help you find something right before the perfect photo opportunity is gone.

Lyrics in music are disturbing and pointless.

Anyone who likes music with lyrics in it is a brain dead moron with no originality or personality.

I'm coming into this thread to say having a built in mp3 player is the worst idea in the world, second only to the mp3 player mobile phone.

I hate those fucking douche's that play music from the built in speaker in thier phone, it's not even that they are playing shit music - it's how bad it sounds, tinny and disgusting.

I dont really want to hear all the artfags's Jazz or the Scenefag's emo.
They look stupid enough already.

Lately I've been listening to the Black Crowes and Weezer. I'm amazed at how much less I'm hasseled when I have earbuds in.
I was in downtowm Memphis all day friday shooting, and the second I took my earbuds out people started bothering me about what gear/megapixels/zoom I had.

- Sherpa Pro monopod

I shoot sports so this is all I bring with me. I don't often shoot anything else, but I need to get myself a decent normal zoom and a new camera (D300).

I can't really listen to music because most of the time I have to duck and dodge people and objects to get my shots. If I could I'd just listen to my iPod on shuffle which is mostly just a collection of current radio rock and alt. rock.

Nikon D40 with the 18-55&55-200 and 50mm f/1.4s. SB-24 flash.
My dad says that there's a longer Nikon zoom lens somewhere around the house, maybe that'll be enough of an excuse to get a D80.
Been shooting a lot of sports for school over the last few weeks and am quite satisfied with the 55-200 but need to work out a few kinks with the flash for indoor scenes.
