Lucky shot in an old church in Germany.

I want to edit it to maybe bring out the beam of light, but I don't want to wash out the whole picture and I don't want to darken it to the point where you can't see the statues. Any suggestions? Fine as is? Kill it with fire?

And yes, it's from a fail camera, that's why it was lucky.

No U are camera

But OP, you may want to try to cut out the light part of the picture and darken/increase contrast. Desaturate it after you increase contrast or it will look unnatural. My picture is just a quick example for you to judge how it might come out. Of course you will need to be more careful cutting out the window and making sure the colors and lighting look more natural.

I think a sepia tone with a low-ish brightness would really bring out the aged stonework, and accentuate the light.
It either works, or completely fails.
Can't hurt to try?

Are you familiar with the curves control?

Nice pic, by the way, but it feels a bit... tilted. Could use a crop/rotate if possible.

Slight edit.

Might be a little overkill, but its a shame to leave those guys in the dark.
