I have a job interview with a camera store on Friday. Yeah, I know, not exactly tremendously exciting, but this'll be my first full-time job (only just stopped being a student), and it's something I'm obviously interested in, so I'm fairly excited about it.

I was wondering if anyone's ever worked in a photography store before, and if there's anything the manager dude is likely to ask me in an interview which I may not have anticipated?

If you're an amateur photographer, I'm sure you'll more or less do well at the interview. Sure, it's great to be a gearhead for technical questions that your boss and/or customers might have. But you should also have a good background of what it all means in the end. Handing out a good photography tip every once in a while to a customer is definitely useful (i.e. when to stop down, decrease/increase shutter speed).

A photographer working at a camera store is like a tech geek at a Best Buy. Sure you get to work with something related to your interest. But it's only related. I would prefer being out and taking pictures.

Seconded. That would be perfect material for 4chan, after all.

pics from my butt or of my butt? I can't take a picture of my own butt while the camera is there.
