Anyone else have problems with lens flare in nighttime shots? My crap kit lens LOVES to throw green shit all over the place - is there any easy way to avoid that other than taking the light points way off center and crop around it later?

Pic related. Its the only keeper from last night.

Huh, when I stare at the moon, it looks like it glows even more. Sweet.

I have some serious-ass nightime lensflare problems. This picture is taken with a 40 second exposure and the moon looks like the freaking sun.

you over expose a bright object then bitch about lens flair? congrats your a tool
>> Anonymous
it could be because it is a reflection of the sun's light

I am glad you took the time to chime in with some very useful information for correcting a common problem. You should write a book on the subject. maybe title it "I am soo smarty and everyone else is Dumbos." or "I have the tallest horse around."

Great, I know it is a bright object. I am still working on a way of capturing it without underexposing everything else. This board is for sharing information on how to correct problems an not for obvious half-witted remarks that serve no purpose....that is what the rest of 4chan is for."

I've actually been working on the same thing, OP. I haven't had any real luck so far either. =/

why don't you take a non overexposed pic of the moon and replace the shining star moon with that one, and possibly the sky as well.

otherwise, turn around.

I saw some shit like this happening in my night sky a few days ago, I almost took some pictures. Seriously, I was *this* close.
