Sup /p/
I got 2 things I wish to ask...

First is more of a photo-editing question but anyway, how does one go about rescuing overexposed shots? (JPEG tips are appreciated, I'm gonna be editing other people's pictures) (pic related)

Second is, what do you think of light painting, but instead of swinging the lightsource around, you have constant light and paint with shadows? Is it even possible? (I don't even know if this can be done but when I get the time I'm gonna try it out)

in jpg, you can't really rescue overexposed shots. with underexposed shots, there can still be some info there that can be teased out (but only a little, only sometimes, blahblahblah). with over exposed shots, it's really just gone man, let it go.

If it's RAW, there's much more there in the highlights than you think... use that Recovery bar in ACR/Aperture/Lightroom, and maybe pull the exposure down a stop, you'll get some detail back. It can't handle more than about a two stop overexposure though.

sigh... dammit, the next time I need to take pictures of something I'm gonna go there myself. Oh well, lesson learned.

Probably gonna cut-and-paste the sky and shit and paint over the blown parts. :(

ehm... just quickly screwing around with shadow/highlights filter, saturation, and curves... your sky wasn't completely fucked i didn't think and shadow/highlights was able to bring it out a bit... i wasn't too careful doing this as you can see posterizing... but you get the idea
