>>182694Usually the big three make the best filters, Minolta, Canon, Nikon. Ha ha ha, no. Most camera manufacturer filters are just re-branded Promaster or Sigma filters. Hoya, B+W, Heliopan, and Lee all make what could possibly be the best filters, but all of them make a full range from cheap and acceptable to expensive and excellent. The best filters will be through-dyed optical glass and multi-coated. Cheaper filters will be laminate, non-optical (window) glass, or plastic, and uncoated or single coated.
