Hey guys. Does anyone have any experience with troubleshooting EOS cameras?

I've recently acquired an EOS 33 and periodically, the LCD will blink the low battery icon and I cannot use the camera. The batteries are brand new lithiums.

Is this a common problem? Could it indicate some problem (the terminals seem free of corrosion)

OP here. Doubt anyone cares but I think I've identified the problem. Seems it only does it when I'm trying to autofocus in automatic modes with the flash DOWN.

If I try that, it powers off and gives me this false battery warning. No idea. I never shoot in auto anyway and if I did I'd probably use the flash anyway.

Oh, and thanks for all your help, asshats

I think it's a generic misoperation warning.

The camera is trying to pop up the flash and it cannot for whatever reason. Perhaps a spring is broken. In any case, its shutting down because it thinks it's preventing damage.

The 33/Elan 7 is weird because it's autofocus is helped with the flash, it has to stobe for a second to get full use in low light. Use flash in auto and problem solved
