Job Application Relaxo !!wQLwX3d/ry2
Dear /p/
I'm applying for this job that requires alot of architectural photography. I took this earlier on this afternoon.
Honest criticism and advice on how to colour grade it would be much appreciated
~cheers!

to yellow? what are you dense? it's a grand old building with character that goes way back to the days of speakeasies. where deep browns, golds and reds ruled all kinds styles and fashion. this photo reminds of those times, that era.

eat a dick anonymous...

in theory the composition is good, but most people would want the focus to be on the dome and not the hall.

Also the shot composition is rather typical

>>131444
again typical composition, slightly of center makes it jarring.

>>131456
same problem

You know how to expose all of these right but all the shots are rather typical. Be more creative with it man
>> Relaxo !!wQLwX3d/ry2

Yeah I agree, they are pretty typical... but it's kind of an entry level job i'm going for making 360 'tours' or architectural locations so i figured my potential employers wouldn't dig dutch angles and outrageous tilts. But i'll definitely try and do something a little more interesting when it comes to my artistic madness.

thanks for the advice anyway, i'm really green when it comes to this stuff.

Real estate photography, you mean? You'll be taking photos for property listings online and in magazines/brochures, yeah? It's a huge business, and there's always room for a good photographer to get some work.

However, it means getting very skilled at on-site location lighting. I suggest you get yourself to the Strobist site, now, and start learning.

Already got two off camera Vivitars

~ this job app. specified no lighting equiptment required for some reason though~ can't think why.

Probably so they know you can take a good picture of places where you won't be allowed to set up a bunch of lights.

I'd say do a slight recrop. The house is slightly off to the right.

Also, is it just me or is the photo not quite level?
>> Relaxo !!wQLwX3d/ry2
>>131616
Camera was level. House itself is actually lopsided and collapsing into the ground
Shall recrop though

Is it obvious that this is a composite of 5 exposures?

I just read that i'm not supposed to manipulate any of the images & i've already sent the application off.

A+ to me for reading the instructions.

Wow, you sure did a good job of hiding it.

cheers!
Lotta ballsing around with the sponge tool so it wouldn't look like an HDR saturation frenzy.

hopefully they won't notice <_<

actually it kind of is. the silo or whatever through the door looks odd.
>> Falldog
>>131839
Ditto. It's not too distracting unless you're looking for it though.

>>131458
I think they're great how they are. As someone who is a fan of architecture photography I feel it's about the object being captured not the photo itself. The photo should respect the objects lines, design features, color and history.

Personally for the art of photography is in the object being captured, not the capture itself. But that's just me.

it looks like it has weird dithering like the color palette was downsampled or something
>> Job Application Relaxo !!wQLwX3d/ry2
>>131858
Cheers! I also think photography should be more content oriented.
>>131860
Dithering probably a result of my fail HDRing.
I HDR'd it, didn't like the result, so i cobbled back in the original exposures. I think the middle bit is still HDR'd.

As I said earlier ~ I is noob. Still fucking around and figuring things out.
