i have 4 batteries that are 1800 mah and i have 2 new ones that are 2700 mah

is it okay to mix those together and use them? is it safe for the camera?

i have a canon if that matters

no, mixing batteries is bad

by using 2 old 1800mAh ones with 2 new 2700mAh ones, you get the capacity of 4 old 1800mAh ones.

oh, i see

it's limited by the lowest power?

okay that's fine but will it cause any damage to the camera? like short out or something?

also, is it okay if i mix the 4 duracell with the 2 new sanyo at the same time?

the manual says to not use them together

4 alkaline duracells?

well, technically you can mix alkalines and rechargeables, but this may confuse the camera's battery meter and possibly kill the rechargeables (because the camera may allow them to be discharged way past the limit)

Go ahead and mix. There will be one less canon fag out there.

hmm, no they're all rechargeable NIMH batteries

my camera takes 6 of them and i have 4 that are duracell 1800 and 2 that are sanyo 2700 mah

Then it's relatively safe to mix them, if you don't mind that
a) you'll only get 1800mAh worth of power
b) your sanyos will never be discharged beyond 2/3 of their capacity and will die sooner
