What do you guys think of this Canon G9, If I had the money I would buy another one, but this is all I have, so what do you think of digitals in this price range. Is G9 a good choice?

That little viewfinder is so cute.

Yeah, go for it, the G9 is an excellent albeit overpriced point and shoot camera.

might as well get a dSLR at that point

Go with the Digital Rebel. You can upgrade the kit lens on the Rebel, but your G9 will always be at exactly the same level of quality.

Also, the noise that the G9 gives you at its minimum ISO is more than the Rebel has at ISO400.

I know the pros and cons, but right now I want the 400D to go down in price.

Also, I need to spend some hands on with both cameras. I think I'll go to the store with my memory card and see if I can compare the pictures on my computer.

I'm a total canonfag and I chuckled and agreed to his comment. What exactly the hell are you talking about?

makes it sound like dpr is only about canonfags

go in nikon talk and see how they make 394 d3 > all threads a day

Yeah, but they're specifically well known for frequently threads about how the G9 is just as good as an SLR (or even better). He's alluding to a specific set of posts that got posted here once, not making a burn on Canonfags in general.
>> Anonymous
that's only because all the dpr posts that have been posted here are from canon talk

and guess what, it probably was a nikonfag who did it to ridicule canon users

any asshat could've gone in nikon talk or sony to post that shit

How about you just pretend that I posted the joke about DPReview forums' views on the G9 and move on with your life?

I actually have the G9. It's a really nice camera for the price, but it should be noted that you definitely are limited. In my opinion it was never meant to take the place of an SLR, and is meant to be portable, while still taking amazing photos. I let my dad take it to France this past year and even on the standard point and shoot automatic mode, it came back with good results in a lot of lighting conditions. If you want an extremely nice point and shoot, with tons of extra features, I'd get it.
