What is the best Filter brand out there?

I was thinking about buying some B+W but damn they are expensive!

lol, ol, olol, no. It's not worth it at all. Get a good Hoya multi-coated glass/metal filter, they're only around $18-$25 a piece. Seriously, you won't regret it, or notice the difference. This is just a classic example of marking shit up because people think it's better, i.e Monster Cables.

B+W is expensive because they make the best stuff and they know it

I have an 010 on my 80-200, costs like $70 but its protecting a $1000 lens while not degrading the optical quality in the meantime

of course in that case you're buying B+W because its going to be on the lens 24/7, if its just an effect filter you're fine going with hoya
