Picked this all up for 5 dollars today. I know fuck all about old film cameras, praktica L2 any good? It seems to be in perfect working order, plus the lack of need for batteries seems pretty win.

Also included was a 50 mm 2.8
200 3.5
lightmeter thing, I think :\
2 polarizers
cross
some orange filter no idea what it is (Toshiba s 056 2 (02))
skylight
softon
and a +1, +2, +3,and +4 stack of magnifiers

Im sorry for the gear thread :(

I'll take everything on that table for $10.

Final offer.

<-- OP of the other old shit thread

Grats on that!

Multicolor bokeh wallpaper's pretty too. Could share perhaps? : O

IF it all works this seems like a great setup.
The images might not be particularly wonderful, but it'll be a lot of fun to use.

Mega bonus points for getting the light meter.
You'll definitely need it.

Does the light meter work? I wish i had luck like that when it comes to used equipment.

>>157362
Youre wrong. Using bw film on this camera makes it instant art.

Not neccessarilly.
Could have fuzzy optics, etc etc.
Fuzzy bullshit wrecks B&W unless you have keen light leaks, etc.

Still, at that price he can afford to really experiment a lot, which is good.

I have that same lightmeter... if you're going to use it get a zinc-air battery for it.. it's one of the old ones that relied on mercury batteries to regulate the voltage properly.

Is that a Meyer-Optik 50/2.8?
>> Sicko !L3HRY/miC.
I've seen a bunch of these kind of threads but none about the resulting photos...

Myself, I'm just cheap and don't want to buy a scanner, so no film pictures for you. Dunn about the other filmfags here.

lol no.

Maybe I'll reassemble my ghetto slide reproduction machine sometime later... Although it seems kinda retarded to use a digital camera to reshoot film slides you just brought in, lol.

k, how do you like it?

Woah, I used to have something very similar - my first SLR. Never really got to like it and stuck with rangefinders pretty much since. I got myself a DSLR recently, and still haven't got the knack. Need to get a couple of fixed lenses, learn to shoot from the hip with it.

Sorry for getting rambly and nostalgic on your thread.

Smoooooooooooooooth focus, generally sexy, sharp at all apertures - at least on 6x8 prints, hasn't printed anything larger yet. On the other hand, bokeh kinda sucks (I thought its 58mm cousin would be better, but samples on the net disappointed me)

I have been considering dabbling with film to try it out. I already have Canon EOS/EF fit lenses to go with my 400D, so I was wondering if anyone could recommend a film body for me that would fit those lenses?

I see there are many available, but I don't know which ones were good or bad.

get an EOS 3 or EOS 5

but be warned, after using them for a while you'll want to throw your 400D out of the window and sell your sister to slavery to get an 1D-level digital body.
