I think the easiest way would be to do a panorama with a super fish eye lens, and merge and edit in photoshop, but that's just a speculation... don't really know...

You would need a wide(tall wide) permanent 360 coverage lense/set of cameras. Probably possible but hard and expensive.

Take panorama (normal) and apply a spherical uv map on it iirc.
