photographing models nokin
yay. im posting about stuff.
heres the dealy-o. my friend needs a portfolio for her university classes. they require photos of her dresses and a model modeling them. i have ample equipment and a few places in mind. the designs ( although I havn't seen them) are apparently casual London type street clothes( weird dresses and such) I told her to appeal to the market the pictures should be taken on the street where you would normally see the clothes. am I correct in this sense?

I don't know if it's the normal thing- in fact, I don't think it is, but I'm not the one to ask.

But go for it. The thing about portfolios, in any creative field, is this:

8/10 are the same old stuff. They'll "pass," but no one is going to be impressed.

1/10 are the same old shit. Just plain fail.

1/10 are the ones that stand out, that do something novel without being pretentious or overly wild.

And if your photography will help her fashion get into the last tenth of portfolios, why not go for it?
