I bought a cheap £50 Opteka fisheye for my Nikon D80, for that exact reason. None of the photos I took with it where really sharp enough to use/publish. Apart from the Dead Centre. Which is useless in my opinion.
Also the colour fringes ruin the outcome. Dispite the large angle coverage, and the wide aperture the Opteka fisheye didnt seem to filter the light through very well, resulting in dark/underexposed photos.
Although, this could just be down to my personal technique and expertise - but its up to you.
*I still own this lens, just as abit of fun
If your using a Nikon, Then i'd HIGHLY reccomend you buy the 10.5mm fisheye. Its the best £500 you'll ever spend if you want to achieve that effect :)
