For the most part, it isn't bad. But the rope ladder is a little dark and maybe a little uninteresting to be in the forefround. The background is nice though.

This shouldn't be possible with a single jpeg.
>> Anonymous
>>284068

wtf with 1 jpeg?
is OP trolling and using a raw?
>> Anonymous
>>284072
I'm not the op, just testing out the awesome automatic hdr program I wrote myself that doesn't just tonemap the jpeg.
>> Anonymous
>>284073
how's it work?
>> Anonymous
>>284074
Well, it tries it's best to simulate different exposure levels, then just combines them conventionally.
It doesn't work with pictures that have total whiteouts, but it's pretty flexible.
>> Anonymous
>>284076
Seeing as it's simulated, it FAILS HORRIBLY at jpegs due to accentuating their compression.
Shit's so cash on RAWs, though.
>> Anonymous
>>284076
How efficiently does it simulate it compared to a legit HDR
>> Anonymous
>>284079
Nothing compared to the flexibility of real hdr, even if by some miracle it works out

It's fantastic compared to just tonemapping the jpeg or raw, though.
>> Anonymous
In terms of the efficiency, it's automatic, and usually has good results.
>> Anonymous
     File :-(, x)
I do need some test subjects though, so you can posts some images here for me to try it out on
>> Anonymous
But I'd like them hosted somewhere uncompressed, or at least a 5 pass jpeg hosted here.
>> Anonymous
>>284080
I've tried raws with photomatix, and I always end up with color noise (RGB pixels randomly in darker areas).

Any advice with what to do?
>> Anonymous
>>284084
Not much, even this method has grain, just a lot less. The only reliable way is to remove it by hand.
>> Anonymous
>>284085
That's a bummer.
What would be the best manual removal?
just replacement or what?
>> Anonymous
>>284087
try the soften tool or something.

As for the HDR jpeg I posted, That only had a simulated exposure of -4 to +4 with a step of 2, shit can simulate up to 60, but it won't calculate the content of blacked out rooms.
I can host the hdr file to prove that it's not some photoshop faggotry.
>> Anonymous
>>284088
If you could host the program you used, that'd be dope
