I personally like #1 #3 and both the dogs. The husky one is awesome.

don't really like em, they seem like really random snapshots (again)
i do like the color tones in all of the photos
not saying they're all horrible.. just not interesting enough
>> Anonymous
>>141792don't really like em, they seem like really random snapshots (again)

/me rolls eyes

this is why /p/ can't be used in any way for comments

just last week heavyweather or that other nikonfag posted the skate park pictures

i said, wow, these are all really boring and not impressive at all, technically sound though but they just look like random shots

he said, WELL THAT'S THE LOOK I WAS GOING FOR!, okay i'll let that slide

you came in for the 5th time in that thread, quoted his post 15 times and said, WOW GREAT SNAPSHOTS!

now you're going to say these "snapshots" suck?

is it because this tripfag isn't well established enough for you to suck his dick like you did for the previous one?
>> beethy !HJGkSBB3Ao
>>141797
not really.

sv skate park photos actually had something going for them.
those shots i could look at again and again without feeling "ugh these are boring"
these photos on the other hand seem rather pointless.
i have no idea what the photographer is trying to convey. the main thing i'm feeling and seeing is lack of maturity (photography wise) in these shots.
sv's photos (though they had a snapshot'ish appearance) seemed much more thought through and well composed also.

does that make sense?
and remember, my opinion is subjective.. as is art.

>>141808the main thing i'm feeling and seeing is lack of maturity

that's quite priceless coming from someone who does the same thing over and over again and over

>> sv skate park photos actually had something going for them.

you can title his shots as "SNAPSHOTS of my day at the skate park with a bunch of people riding bikes"

you can title these images as "SNAPSHOTS of my dat at the beach with a bunch of girls in bikinis and some dogs"

>> these photos on the other hand seem rather pointless.

i see people having fun at the beach

why don't you just admit you like the other pictures because the other guy likes you

QFT. I thought sv's skate park pictures were dull as toast. These shots, I like.

The fact that these shots are of hot chicks probably has a lot to do with that.

when i like or respect someone, i cut them slack
but i will not overly praise someone to make them feel good about their bad work. since that is highly detrimental to them improving as an artist/photographer.
i always try to be as honest as i can, ESPECIALLY(or only) on /p/

>why don't you just admit you like the other pictures because the other guy likes you
i like pskaught's photography a lot, even though i think he is a giant shit stain.

I asked in my other thread if anyone had any suggestions on how to spruce up my pictures, but no one warranted a reply. I'm going to be taking pictures all week, part of a project I'm doing (for myself) to become a better photographer, so I'm curious to hear your - subjective - input.

no one said anything amazing about these pictures

2 people liked some of the shots, one of which is me

but you had to come in and said "boring snapshots" about his "bad work"

and now you admit to liking mediocre shots from a "friend" just because yet you say you don't "overly praise someone to make them feel good about their bad work"

fuck you OP

I LOVE THAT PHOTO
so yea, more like that please

you have incredible potential, this is pretty easy to see.. you're also adept with your camera. but try to take photos from a conceptual point of view as well.
like that photo you just posted, which is amazing for so many reasons.
- you cannot see the sea, i like this.. because there's still 1 obvious hint they are at the beach, the attire
- the framing and placement is excellent
- girl fixing her hair is like the finishing touch to the photo, makes the image perfect in my eyes

my opinion on the other photos still stands though.

Finally one with enough vignetting for you, eh? ;)
>> Anonymous
OP: These are pretty good for what they are, especially the last one. I'll write up something more detailed later. I wrote up a detailed response to your response to some quick criticism I put in your thread last night, but I got a blue screen of death (On XP!) before I pressed "submit." So yeah.

I like the vignetting; gives it sort of a classical-and-intimate feel at the same time.

One quick suggestion: edit, in the sense of choosing photographs, tighter. Wait 'til the project's done, and pick out the best ones, the ones that add to the overall whole. A thread of several images after each day of shooting is bound to include clunkers that bring down the good ones.

>>141792
They're the same sort of model work you do, just in a different (IMO, better) visual style and with less attitude on the faces of the models.

>>141835
Not everyone goes for big, baroque "conceptual" stuff. Some people like bare-bones, minimalistic photography and portraits in the style of Cartier-Bresson, Harvey, etc.
