So, /p/, we all know that lens flare = win in basically any situation, but I'm not entirely convinced it's an "artistic" form of win. Can anyone provide an example of lens flare adding artistic value to a photograph?

You realize the whole lens flare==win thing is a joke, right?

I don't get it. If 4chan is supposed to be such bleeding edge internet meme factory, why are people still making lens flare jokes?

that joke was old by photoshop 5.5.

Yes, I do. But I knew that if I asked the question straight outright I'd get a lot of faux-witty "don't talk smack about lens flare"-esque comments. Instead I got some dolts pointing out that the lens flare joke is a joke. The first time I saw a lens flare comment I knew it was a running joke. /p/ treats lens flare like it's the most important element of a photograph because everybody really hates/dislikes it. However, you see lens flare being used intentionally all the time (especially in movies). Which means somebody likes it, no? I've never seen it used artistically, and am just wondering if it CAN be used artistically.
