One RAW file and you can switch cards...
Awesome.

Sadly I can't find the 8mb I was planning on posting
>> Anonymous
I actually still have a 16mb CF card at home, man those were the days.
>> Anonymous
Does anyone still have SmartMedia cards? I've got a 64MB one, but its reader that doesn't work with XP.

Also, 0 megabyte SD cards (the plastic ones used to plug SD reader slots in notebooks) FTW.

High on cactus juice again, Anon?

I was just thinking the other day that my first hard drive--80M, which seemed enormous at the time--would store fewer than 8 photos from my 40D in the mode I normally shoot it.

And the 850M drive I got later that seemed like more space than I could ever possibly use would store about 80.

My first digital camera was a Nikon Coolpix 880. 3.34 megapixels. In RAW mode you could fit on picture on the included 8MB card. We got a 64MB and then a 384MB before getting the next camera (Digital Rebel).

Funny thing how that old crap has a constant f/2.0 lens while every compact nowadays is f/2.8 or even slower.

Unfortunatly (or not) i cannot think of mavicas without thinking of some sports photog shooting with one and constantly ejecting spent floppys and slamming new ones in like some sort of weird ak.

Awesome image however.

I've still got 128s and 512s running around, but that's it.

>>298128

My first camera and digital camera was an all-auto exposure, scale focus (!) Agfa so old DP Review doesn't list it. 640x480 JPEGs and TIFFs IIRC, but that looked fine on 800x600 monitors. I pulled it out of the graveyard a few months ago, it actually fit well in the hand and had an actual brightline finder. IIRC the LCD screen was just for settings and review, no live view.

i used to dream about having one of these cameras because shooting directly to a common media was incredibly appealing. take pictures, drop floppy into computer, pictures!

this was when I was taking pictures on film and begging my mom to get the pictures developed and buy me more film, god.
>> Serenar !m827jEgWi.

That's because of the tiny sensor size.

Yeah, I was surprised when I noticed that, too. Still, only a 1/3" sensor, and 3x zoom, so it's a small enough image surface that they can get a wide aperture without a lot of work.

lol mavica. there was someone selling a MVC-FD91 mavica on kijiji around here a few days ago. PAID 500 SELLING FOR ONLY 325!!!

yeah maybe like 10 years ago

Please tell me you're joking or they were.

>>298186
people are fucking retarded when it comes to resale prices
Craigslist and kijiji exacerbate that because they have no listing fees, so the worst that happens if you overcharge is you get spam emails.

That 1/3" sensor isn't that much smaller than 1/2.5" ones used in typical modern compacts, and most of them still have 3-4x zoom.
(Well, there are high-end compacts with 1/1.8" or even larger sensors, but incidentally, those are usually the ones with the fastest lenses too)
>> Anonymous
>>298183
He should've kept it for another 10-20 years. THEN it would cost $325 again, lol.

the fact that this image was just shot with my phone featuring 4gb of memory is the cream on top.

camera shown works perfectly, only the battery compartment door won't close anymore.
(my sister dropped it from about two meters on concrete - i doubt my rebel xt would still work after that)
also a 64 mb smart media card is inserted.
