yeah, that's the only ISO number that's not really usable.
The rest are though, which is great

yawn

people are still excited about the 50D?

get with the times

Any camera can do great at high ISO if the exposure is proper. I can take a 30 second exposure during the day and the image will be virtually noise-free even at 1600 ISO on a Rebel XT.

Expose to the right.

wut i just tried iso 800 on a pos and it looks like shit, 2 stops overexposed, and still mega grain

ac, idiot king of Canonfags.

Use a Nikon or a Sony SLR and the difference is obvious. The Canon tab system is ridiculously stupid

No, your D50 doesn't count because it's not using the new menus.

1) "Archaic" does not mean "stupid."
2) Menus don't really matter, how often do you have to change them?
3) I've never had any problems figuring out or using the menus on any DSLR of any brand, although I recall being irritated by something I can't remember in the menus of a D40 I was screwing around with in a store once.

Signed,

Someone who doesn't shoot Canon, Nikon, or Sony, but would take Nikon out of the three of them.

If there's no 5DMk II should I get this instead of a 5D?

this post is made of fail since they're testing under daylight....
They should test it under lowl ight.

Depends.

If you already own more than 2 EFS lenses. ...then the switch to full frame may not be worth it unless you have enough cash.
I'm broke as hell and I'm going for the 50D...since replacing my 10-22mm lens with the 14mm II will cost shitloads.
>> Anonymous !EOS5Dv76E6
>>249991
If you go full-frame and "replace" your 10-22, you should do it with a 17-40L, which is pretty much the same focal length and aperture, and costs less.
>> beethy !vW/UaE6zYU
>>249994
Could do that.. but for some reason I enjoyed using the 14mm a bit more.

No video on the D700, I realize its prob a grammar mistake but you insinuated that

And yes from the shots i've seen with it, it is absolutely fantastic. The Sigma 12-24 is wider (FX) still, however for all the 100% crop measurebators the 14-24 is the superior lens.
>> Anonymous
>>250012
Shooting HD video with this on the D90 is pretty fucking win, and still shots are downright amazing on the D700.

>>250019
http://www.16-9.net/lens_tests/canon14l2_nikon1424/nikon1424_canon14l2_a.html

It's optically MUCH better, zooms, and is 25% cheaper.

>>250039
Fixed, are you happy? And fuck pixel peeping, even in real world performance it's significantly better than the Sigma.
>> Anonymous
>>250050
Oh I know its better in like almost every way, but If you want EXTREME wide rectilinear lenses, The 12-24 is quite a bit wider.

I've shot with the 14mm f2.8 (Prime) On a D3, and its quite nice, but all i've seen is better quality out of the 14-24, which is amazing...

Photon is right.
The key to making images look noise free is overexposing or "properly" exposing. (keeping the dark areas to a minimum)

In the situations where you are forced to use ISO 1600+ you will usually (almost always) be forced to have dark areas of the picture, or an underexposed subject even. This is when noise really shows up.
