In still photography, we call it a "panorama" and don't stick bars on it for no reason.

Not bad! I like it a lot!

I dunno, I think the framing makes the photo a bit stronger. It kinda gives it a "cinematic" feel.

Awesome.

critique on a strictly techinal point.

assuming your using the 50 1.8 or even the 1.4 you wouldve been better stopping down more. even something like 2.8 or similar would have brought the corners in sharper and given more better details on the buildings.

personally though, im gonna go against the chan and say i dont realy like it.
that boat annoys me, perhaps if it was a contrast of run down apartments and the millionaires boat would be cool. and also, those black bars are annoying. just cos its a wide ratio doesnt mean it needs the bars.

i agree. Looks like he was using the f/1.8 lens wide open, stop down a little to 2 or 2.8 to get some sharpness in the borders.
I like it very much!

Yeah true, I was out shooting really small dof shots. I saw the boat and got a little too excited and i just forgot to stop down. I really wish i did though. Very unfortunate.

It's not "blurry as fuck" but it definately isn't as sharp as it could be.
