I know you guys hate gear threads but I am looking for a zoom lens for my Pentax K200D to take on vacation (only have the kit lens) and I do not know what I should be looking for.

What do you think of these lenses?

Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG Macro Telephoto Zoom Lens - $133

Pentax DA 50-200mm f/4-5.6 ED Lens - $180

Pentax DA 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3 ED AL IF Lens - $440
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000WJOF1O

I think I want to get the Sigma or the cheaper Pentax, but why is the Sigma cheaper than the Pentax? Is it really shitty?

Also what is the difference between that Sigma 70-300 and this Sigma 70-300 that costs $205?

Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG APO Macro Telephoto Zoom Lens

A couple elements are made of apochromatic glass in the APO version, thus the image quality is supposed to be slightly higher. Everything else is basically the same.

Thank you for the information!
I was not sure what the APO stood for.
Do you know of any comparison shots from the two?

Apochromatic. If I remember correctly, it means it has a 3-element achromatic lens designed to correct 3 main wavelengths of light, or something to that effect. More effective than a 2-element achromatic.
