in 3 days, i'm back off to china again, for nearly 6 weeks.
my camera itinerary includes:
D70 with 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5 (for obvious reasons)
F5 with 50mm f/1.4 using Provia 400 and Ektachrome 100VS (for my serious film)
Canon Demi using Velvia 100 (for quick easy shots)
Petri 7 using T-Max 100 (for my B&W film)
Nikon SB600
and lots of cokin filters

all fits nicely in my CompuTrekker Plus AW without been too heavy, i've decided to leave all other lenses at home for weight reasons.
Also thinking of picking up a Nikon Coolscan 5000 ED wile there.

forgive my ignorance, but how is traveling in China? Have you ever run into problems? Customs, bringing this stuff in / bringing it and other stuff out?
>> ac !!VPzQAxYPAMA
Ooo. The idea of loading up my half-frame with Velvia hadn't occurred to me. That could be awesome.

the photo is actually in HK airport last time i was there.

Traveling around china is simple fun and cheap.
as long as you dont do anything stupid, you will be fine.

Hong Kong airport is crazy... every place is called "Cyber"-something. I wouldn't be surprised if they had cyberbathrooms.

Why not bring less cameras and more lenses?

Doesn't your film get all fucked up by the X-ray's at the airports?

As long as you keep it in your carryon, you only have to worry with really high-speed film. ISO100 and ISO400 films should be fine. If he's got any Delta 3200, he should get it hand-inspected.

(Sending them through the baggage X-ray will fuck their shit up right proper, though)

I know low speed speed film is straight, not sure about the higher speeds.

apparently xray machines are guaranteed not to fuck up films below ISO3200, and talking to one guy, he made a point that there is more radiation in the plane up in the stratosphere at 10km high than in the xray machine.
anway, i've had no problems with film before

Well thats good to hear, since I just got 30 rolls of Velvia 50 in the mail (And it crossed the border) So I hope that it wasn't affected (Haven't got it back yet)
