Hi /p/

I bought a Nikon D80 but got hot pixels after it was returned for mirror/body cleaning.

Since then ive returned it three times with the same problem, the third time was most severe (two areas of the sensor with a dozen or so missing pixels).

The cameras only 9 months old!

Should i bitch at Nikon for a D90 upgrade?

what the hell did you do to warrant cleaning by nikon after 9 months?

the damn things are just dust vacuums, i've actually been running around with lots of dust on mine for 6 months now, and i just got mine in December.

Sounds like the problem is the hot pixels, not the dust.
OP, I have approx. eight hot pixels that show up on mine depending on iso and length of exposure. Kinda sucks, but they aren't always there and don't usually matter in the end result, and I can blur them out if necessary. In other words, it may not be such a big deal as you're making it out to be. And believe me, it pissed me off at first too.

Yep, freakin' dust magnets. George's does cleanings for $50, you get it back in two days tops, usually one.

Correct. theres no cleaning system, so keep the air bulb to hand. Awesome camera, just VERY pissed off that its kicking back so hard. Maybe if i bawl hard enough theyll let me upgrade...

If they dont give me a decent answer i may consider.. moving.. to canon. >spits<

Wait, a dozen or so total? Or a dozen on each of the two areas of your sensor?

seperate blobs of between 9 and 12 pixels go either white or bright blue. i think ithey fucked up the sensor when they cleaned it the first time.

Ok

Nikon:

"this aint got shit to do with us, speak to the seller, sounds like your cameras fucked"

Seller: "nothing to do with me, speak to nikon"

Im gonna have to use the sale of goods act to rip his balls up arent i?

If i was before Nikon got a hold of it, it's a seller issue. If the problem occured after Nikin faggy-ness, it's a nikon issue.
