Yo /p/

Sort of gear thread.

What's the best kind of material/paper for a home studio? I'm looking for a pure white background and I don't have much money.

I'm looking to build kind of a small indoor studio.

what are you trying to take photos of? how big of a backdrop are we talking about? the whole room is going to be a paper cyc, or are you just doing a small table?

You over exposed your photo.

Seamless paper. Savage makes what most studios use. If budget is an issue, contact local commercial studios and see if they have a roll with not much left on it they'd be willing to sell you on the cheap.

What this guy said. Be more specific especially along the lines of what you'll be shooting.

Pic related, tabletop lightbox from strobist with onion skin sides and long paper backdrop..

Just use any white wall in your house!

Use a plain white bed sheet and hang it in the background, if it has a slight pattern simply move it further back from the subject and narrow the dof.

Also, to add to that (you probably already know this)

If your camera supports it, use spot metering and expose on the subject.

A walk-in studio for full body shots.

That's a great idea. I know some studios around here. Either way that paper doesn't seem too expensive.

I don't have any plain white walls in my house. They all have some sort of lines or stucco.

>>221059

Would be hard to get a seamless bed sheet background I think.

then savage, or something like it, would be the way to go.
