Hai /p/. How have you guise been? I know you probably don't like these threads but....

My Canon EOS Rebel 2000 has recently broke. I am thinking of getting the newer model, the K2. But I am unsure of one thing. This may sound like noob question, buuuutt, could My old lens, the 28-50mm stock lens that came with my Rebel 2000 fit on the K2?

Yes, I am somewhat new to photography. I am sorry. But you guys seem a LOT more knowledgeable then most.

Why do people buy 700 dollar cameras without knowing a bit about photography?

Cause that camera body is 130 usd at this time. Why do people attack others without getting their facts straight first?

My bad, I did a bit of reading recently and read that some companies made a few SLRs designed for the APS film size to make them more compact, so I wasn't sure if the 2000 one was 35 or otherwise.

Not sure.

Also, not sure how this is relevant to the current discussion since brand-spanking new Rebel K2s are under $200. Adorama has 'em brand new for $134 body-only, and $89 in excellent condition.

Canon EOS IX. APS film SLR from Canon. Didn't use the EF-S mount, though.

Canon didn't come out with the EF-S mount until the original Digital Rebel and EOS 20D. Even their earlier APS-C digitals can't use it (I.e., the D30, D60, and 10D. Note that's "D30", not "30D")

I see. Thanks for the info on that!

And thanks for giving me the opportunity to display how much absurdly useless trivia I've got floating around in my brain!

I used to know long division. Now, I know exactly which models of Canon can mount an EF-S lens.

Check out keh.com. For the price of a new K2, you can pick up a much better used body. Spend a little more (if any) and you can pick up a pro-level body. Shit, you can find a used EOS 1n WITH booster for just over $200.

If you're a film shooter, the used market is your friend.

wouldn't really call that trivia, more like common knowledge for any serious canon user

trivia would be naming every camera canon has made without wikipedia, color me impressed
