Swapped out my Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 for a new sample due to some an infinity focus issue (which the new one has too! Is this a feature somehow? Autofocus nails infinity focus, but if I go by the guides, it's another millimeter over, and it throws everything out of focus. Not a huge deal, but weird), and this new lens is fucking SHARP. I could immediately tell a difference. Everything pops a lot more than on the previous sample.

Ryan will rape you in your sleep. And you'll just think it's a night terror. But it'll be Ryan, actually raping you while you sleep.

17mm is tasty.

ITT reasons why I'm afraid of buying third-party lenses. And why I'm afraid of Ryan, now.

Could it be that the infinity focus is a bit off because it's left extra room for IR focus at infinity? That's just a pulled-out-of-my-ass guess, I'm not sure if IR wavelength differences even have an impact at infinity.

IR does have a different focus point, its marked on one of my lenses
