Hello kind /p/eople!I am looking for a new camera( the one i have right now is 3megapixels and is just all around god awful..)The camera is mostly used for lame stuff like outtings and maybe a ceremony or two (like a graduation)Because of this, i think i need something with a high ocunt of megapixels (to do the zoomz without pixelation) and a lot of optical zoom, but one thing that I really want to ensure is that the camera has good focusing... my current camera is just so shit when it comes to focusing, it'll focus on random spots on hte carpet instead of people's faces and etccurrently looking at canon powershot Awhatever seriesthank you!tl;dr: $150-250 camera for shit where you're far away (graduations) and family stuff

Powershot A650Powershot A590Powershot A720Powershot S5Powershot SX100Those are your choices and all of them are great. Basically any point and shoot from Canon, Panasonic or Sony will be fine.

You could try a Panasonic TZ4 which has a 10x optical zoom. The image quality is kinda noisy but if you want a super zoom on a P&S then try that. (Just want to note that there is also a higher-end model: the TZ5. Its only difference is a bigger LCD and it can record movies in 720p)
