/p/,

I just recently got myself a Nikon D80 and want to take some nice pictures. The only problem is that I suck at coming up with good ways to take a picture of a subject (other than family photo type garbage). Does /p/ have any favorite resources on good techniques for taking interesting photos?

Pic is example of my boring pics ><

Yeah, this is just awful photo. It almost looks like you're half blind. You know, there's this BIG THING in the middle of the photo. What does it do there?

Maybe taking a photo of it while being on your knees and using wide-angle lens. Would make the camel look super big!

Nude Models, Clothed Models, Sports, Macro pics of flowers and stuff, Long exposures at night, Long exposures during the day, Street photography, Interesting Self portraits, Light painting, Light Drawing, Astrophotography, Infrared, Posed Figurines, Cars, Architecture, Animals (like your original pic but better), night scenes (bars, clubs)

Also think about your background, what you want the picture to be focusing on, And how the lighting you are in can be worked to your advantage (Or how to turn crappy overcast lighting (aka OP's pic) Into something interesting.
