dont you love when people are retarded and would rather strong arm something into working than asking or trying to find out the right way to work it?

Not this week, but in the past; a Mamiya 645 ProTL i just bought on eBay didn't work so i took it apart along with the working one i already had. I quickly learned how the shutter curatins worked. Thankfully i managed to repair them and all seems well now.

How to get free stuff from the internet, like Amazon gift certificates and shit:

Step 1: Install Firefox autoreloader: http://tinyurl.com/32wqmn

Step 2: Go to this site: http://tinyurl.com/ynkurk
and sign up. Make sure to uncheck the box that lets them send you email offers and garbage.

Step 3: Go to the search page at that site and input any search. (internet hate machine, etc.)

Step 4: Set Firefox to autoreload the page every 5 seconds.

Step 5: ?????

Step 6: Profit! I won a $5 gift certificate in the first 15 minutes. It might take longer, but if you just set it up and leave it every day, you get tons of free shit. (Make sure to check your "My Prizes" page periodically)

OMG i missed my very first ever GETZ... shit

THanks for the sympathy guys, i'm gonna give nikon a call to see if warranty will cover it or at least check how much it is to cover the cost of repair... the boyfriend of the friend (i'm friends with the bf) offered to pay, which is nice. So it may turn out all okay.

Cleaned the aluminum-ish part in the light box with a tissue paper...worse...seconds later, found out the tissue had been used to blot ink.

When I was taking out my focusing screen to replace it with a split-prism screen, I SOMEHOW made a big fucking scratch on the old one. I don't remember even touching it anywhere and this scratch was big and DEEP.

Not that big of a deal as it was the old screen (the new one is pristine), but how the hell did it happen?

Sounds like you must have caught it on something hard and sharp. Anything like jewellery, hard metal corners or maybe other glass edges around?
