Canon New F-1 Anonymous
So i got this camera handed to me as a gift, but there is this problem,

- it works in the mechanical mode whidout a battery just fine

- when i load a battery the meter works and everything but the shutter button does not work

anyone got any idea whats the problem?

When you insert the battery, the camera's tiny electronic brain comes to life. In your case, the camera doesn't like your choice of subject and won't work. Try a more entertaining one that the camera likes. :-p

This actually might be more true than you think. Some cameras that offer autoexposure modes won't take the picture if they don't think there's enough light.

apparently my Hi-Matic E does this, but i've never come across it happening even when testing in pitch black.
