580EX II power? Anonymous
Hey /p/

I was wondering what type of power source you use for your flash

So far I've been buying batteries(Duracell, etc..).

I am considering the option of rechargeable batteries, and maybe another alternative power source for home (studio) shots.

Yesterday I was experimenting with some homemade lightbox's and ran through a fresh set of batteries pretty fast.

I am shooting more lately, and want to start using my flash as fill light for darker rooms, musems etc. without having to resort to using a tripod.

If you use rechargeable's are you happy with the recharge rate of them between flashes?

tl;dr. I'm looking for suggestions on rechargeable batteries for field, and power supply for home use with my 580EX II flash.

There's already a canon flash thread, faggot.
Don't go out of your way to clog the front page with gear threads.

Delete and work it into the other thread.

I'm not asking which flash I should buy.. and I do not want to hijack another.

But thanks for your constructive criticism.

take your trolling skills back to /b/ and sharpen em up a bit.

dont worry about Anonymous he's a dick
i use Duracell 2650mah NiMh's in my nikon flash, but it has the option to add the 5th battery and bring the voltage back up to 6.0 Volts.
i highly reccomend the duracell batteries, but watch out because their voltage per unit is 1.2 V which might mean a slightly higher cycle time if using just 4.

I use 4x GP 2700mAh NiMh batteries on my SB-600. Works very well for over 600 photos!
