Is this really HDR? Looks like some faggot playing with the shadow/highlight feature in photoshop. I used to think properly done HDRs were cool, but assholes like this did a quick job of ruining it for me.
You think you can take a shitty photo (like the one you have here) and make it "kewl" by playing with the shadow/highlight sliders 'til everything has a fucking alien glow. Well you know what? It's not kewl--it fucking sucks. Fuck you. I hate you and I hate HDRs.

>>40055
Playing with the shadow/highlight sliders isn't HDR. You don't hate HDR, you hate crap like what this guy did.

>>40058
No, I do really heate HDR.

>>40058
That's what I said. I've come to hate HDRs thanks to faggots who do it improperly and to every shitty picture they take, like the OP.

Shitty HDR is shiiiittttyyyyy.

Don't do HDR for the sake of doing HDR, moron.

It does look a lot like Sydney.

I'd like to point out to you all that yes, this is a satirical get :)

I, like you, hate the abusers of HDR photography. I wanted>>40000to symbolise everything that's wrong with HDR n00bs, epitomising the movement by taking some shitty photo I took while driving and pushing the sliders in Photomatix to ridiculous values.

I very rarely use tonemapping, but when I do, I try to keep it very subtle - usually to recover blown highlights. However, I've found that Adobe Photoshop CS3 can do this job quite amicably from a single .NEF and thus I haven't used an HDR program in months.

The attached picture is probably my only serious application of the technique.

HDR photography does NOT magically make bad photos good. HDR makes good photos interesting. Occasionally.

Love HDR but you have to do it just right or you get way too much halo effect. This is one of my early ones. Notice the haloing :(

40247 again ...

This is the best I've able to do with HDR. A GND filter would have kicked ass over this attempt though. Just need to get a lens that doesn't rotate on focus so I can attach one
>> Anonymous
>>40248
There is a slight halo on this one. Actually, I think the ground is almost too light, but it's a great pic overall.
>> Anonymous
>>40251
That there is. It's most noticeable around the rocks to the left. Thing with HDR is that you could spend 10 hours trying to get the settings right before you switch to 16 bit and still not succeed.

Anyways, thanks for the comment :)
