So, what kind of experience does /p/ have about long exposure photos taken during daytime?

Tried out some downtown yesterday, just before I noticed that I had a ton of dust on my filters. Which sucked donkey balls.

...and I want a Hoya X400 ND. :(

I don't like the shadow on the right crossing the street. Is that you? I guess you wouldn't have had time to step out of the picture.

Damn, nine stops... now I want one of those filters. Shouldn't have said anything, I never knew!

Yeah, that's me. Didn't have my tripod with me so had to lean against a light post and keep it steady.

>>50075

Yeah, after checking out some pics on Trekearth, the filter got a spot on my DO WANT list.

BTW, another downtown shot. The sky is too dark, annoys me that the Cokin P-series filters are too small for ultra-wide angle lenses so that the borders become visible when trying to move them upwards.. (P120 and P121 used)

ive been wanting to get a 121, how is it?

>>50077
why using gradient ND filters? (just a simple question ^_^ )
>> ??????? !KEBab7wem6
>>50080

It's pretty nice, pretty much darker than the 120. Both work separately pretty nicely, but give a neat look to the sky when used together.

>>50098

Mainly just to make the sky darker. Didn't occur to me that I could've used either filter alone, but.. oh well.

your sensor looks a bit dirty in that pic.

I have an ND400 filter, and without a tripod you are fucked, It will take 1/4000th of a second pics and make them about 1/20,
Tints the picture a bit red though, I find with the same WB everything is quite red, haven't played with a custom WB yet though,
I'll post pics later, but all of mine suck cause I don't like tripods :)

Use a table or a mailbox or something to keep your camera on. That's what i do, since I hate tripods too

Im not an expert of photography, but i think that shot is cool
>> photography_expert_(shot_70000+_photos_completely)
I'm an expert in photography and these suck. Real photographers don't use filters, they don't care for cheap and mildly amusing effects.

lol, Ok expert

ND400 filters rock for getting empty looking streets, getting cloud motion blur and creating ghosts, Its just another tool, You may not like it but theres lots of good shots taken with ND filters.
Also you can use them to shrink the DOF for bright scenes (Sports panning especially)

You don't need to explain that to me. I know that. I'm an expert. You didn't understand what I was saying, filters are just cheap tricks that compensate for the lack of skill. Real photographers, like me, don't need them.
