hey /p/,
I've got a Panasonic Lumix (yeah I kno, I probably could have gotten a better camera for that much money) and i've been using the motion stabalizer. However, i've got an OK steady hand and when I take pictures with other, cheaper, lower resolution cameras, they often turn out better. Could the stabalizer be fuxing my pictures?

Protip: cramping so much megapickles on such small sensor kills image quality.

Simply older cameras don`t have megapickles to fuck up IQ.

ookay... That makes sense. Since the pixels are so damn close together, motion blur is much greater when measured in the number of pixels accross. So then if I we're going to get a new camera I would want to look for one with a physically bigger CCD?

Possibly. They can decrease sharpness when not needed in theory, but they usually don't. Turn it off at speeds faster than the 1/focal length rule.

Post examples.

I've got the exact camera in the OP image and the quality is fine at anything up to 800, which depends. It is an older camera, with a moderate pixel count.

It's not that prevalent but it's noticeable when there's an edge that contrasts it's backround. It seems like the depth of field is always shallower than I would expect it to be and like even when I photograph something like cement and the camera is nearly parallel, nothings actually in focus. i also have significantly above average eyesight so maybe I'm just overreacting.
