question: how many of you are interested in the 5D mkii? Followup, anyone here looking to expand into shooting video?

I know i am on both counts. (repressed filmfag)

I am too on both. A photographer friend of mine called the video feature "Pfft dude, 12 minutes every 4gb? Dude that's a toy right there. It's useless."

I honestly strongly think otherwise. You need a comp that can handle it and a large hard drive, but I think it's most definitely viable and will come in handy.

i would love to have full frame

but can't spend the $2700-3000 for either nikon or canon models, so i will have to settle for crop for a long time still ;____;

currently living off spam to afford one and a 16-35 2.8l ii. video wouldn't be my main focus but i might use it sometimes since it would take a while for it not to see ergonomicaly screwed as a video machine

The 5D MKII will offer a higher resolution, live view and the video capability.

But the 5D will still be a 12.8MP camera with low noise. Can't argue with that.

Yeah, it really sucks how when the 5dii announcement came out, the 5d i bought turned into dust and was blown away in the breeze.

Well, i'd rather pay 1500 for a 5d mki than this http://www.photoprice.ca/product/02665

oh god, it must really suck trying to convince yourself about that stupid decision. sucks to be you

Lol, ok anon. Go back to shooting pictures of the things on your desk with your rebel xt.

We know you are crying on the inside. Your 5D claims must have been one of the worst predictions ever.

I'm actually stuck between a few cameras. 40D for relatively cheap now. 50D or 5D MKI for higher. Or go all the way for a 5D MKII.

I don't understsand why we have to go over this everytime i post.

Because consumer faggots can't figure out that the newer model adds things that not necessarily everyone needs or values at the same priority. I think it was a fine decision if you're still enjoying it.

He has obviously never worked with video before. It is usual for video to be around that size, even a lot larger, if you want at least some good quality.

I'll be buying this one as a videographer, but surely I'll do some video with it..

interested, yes.
money is there, I still need to decide though if I wanna spend it or keep my 40D.

I would waste the money on a trip to an interesting place and take photos there.

seconded.

i'd take any camera and a trip to somewhere beautiful over [insert gearfag's fap-fantasy of the week here] and taking pictures of shit in my back yard.

I'm not really interested at all. I don't enjoy making videos anywhere near as much as I do taking stills so I'd never use it, and I vastly prefer the film workflow to digital.

I'd like to play around with one, but that's about all.

I've actually been waiting for this to come out for most of the year....of course, that hasn't stopped me from (trying to) take great photos.
