I greatly prefer the one in colour. Lovely toning.

The pic itself is pleasing to watch but it misses contact with the subject; one of the persons is looking away and the other's face isn't that visible either.

Out of these, the color, definitely. I do think it deserves a better black and white conversion than that before you make the final call.

It also depends on what you're going for- the colors are very beautiful, but that *can be* distracting from the content in some shots.

In what way do you feel the colours are obnoxious? Is it because the primary colours are too strong and distract the eye a bit?

In what way can I improve my b&w conversion? Trying to get the subject to connect is pretty hard though since I was shooting from the hip and busy fiddling with the focus and metering, maybe next time I'll quickly glance at the subject to get that split second connection as I take the photo.
