These are taken very well, however, the colors are bit bland. Certainly it could be blamed on the time of day or the weather, but they have a sterile type of look to them. Did you edit at all or are these the source images? Some complimenting light would make your pictures a whole lot better.

From the EXIF data, it seems that you are not the same Anonymous that posted this picture. Though compostition in this shot is not too good, you can see how the light just makes the shot attractive initially.

No. These look just fine, there's nothing wrong with light. On the other hand, the photo you posted completely sucks in every aspect.

Go here skateperception.com
Check out their photography forum.

I doubt you'll be able to get useful tips on skate photography from 4chan.

most of those guys are just jacking off over DOF and different film types.

the rest of them are like 15 and stealing their moms' oint and shoot to take pics of their friends doing kickflips in the street.

most of us are just jacking off over DOF and different film types.

The rest of us are like 15 and stealing their moms' point and shoot to take pics of their cats.

What's your point?

Hey I took that!

no, you dont understand how lame those guys are.

its was nice to see some skate photography, but i could just buy a transworld for that.

facial expressions are important with skateboarding, try get some action in the shot as well like a crowd or some other skaters in the background, bassically you need something interesting other than the skater unless you are going to fill the shot entireley with the skater.

Well, I do like what you got here. It inspired me to go try shooting at the local skatepark. Unfortunately, I got jack-shit sans this one.

Same guy.
I know it's insensitive, but I really don't care whether the skateboarders crash, so long as I get the picture.
The freezeframe in the gif gives you some idea of how that works.

op here:

facial expressions are important, but to be honest each person has their own "trick face"

and also, those pics of the skater in santa clara suck, mainly because the skater sucks.

if you want even halfway decent skating photos make sure that you are working with a good skater in a good setting.

i am going to make a trip up to the san jose area again soon with the guy in my pics, hopefully we will get something good there.
