C&C radnomness
Went out shooting today, tried some different things that I haven`t done before.
A few of them need editing, cropping and such.
Could /p/ critique these for me?

WHAT THE FUCK

Stop and think...

Your main subject is the rusty old tap yes?.... why isnt it the main focal point? its just trying to get attention over all the plants and weeds (and what ever that burnt out white thing is in the background)

Make it interesting!

I see what you mean, I didn't have a tripod with me (the one i own is an old 5th hand) so I had to sturdy the camera on a wooden post nearby so the HDR wouldn't have ghosting.
Thus, the tap is so low, what I am indecisive about is where I should crop it on the bottom.

Attached photo is a mis-shot Some editing and its a bit more acceptable.
The large round blur is my lens cap.

stop!

Stop right there :P

Am sorry, but you should not be doing HDR... DO NOT buy into all the shit you see by talentless retards (on DA mainly) saying it rocks... its a fad, it WILL go away, and it is VERY hard to do right....

You should not be trying such effects yet, you need to learn about composition, then lighting,THEN move onto these kind of things.... Trust me, baby steps, its MUCH better in the long run

poor/overdone use of it is a fad, good use of it is not. I dont do it myself, but used correctly, it's a very legitimate technique.

>>225070

OP isn't using it right though, so shut the fuck up.

I agree, i just didnt want to get to technical with a new comer

No reason to get like that, he had a valid point to make i missed out in my comment

the only reason I even did the HDR is because it was near dusk. Not a thing was clearly visible.
I tried my hand at HDR's a while ago and learned that its best to just do a slight, not very noticible, range.
But here is a question to /p/. Has anyone on here tried an HDR with water of sorts BESIDES wide ocean shots.
And also, HDR macros?

>new comer
I`m sorry, I`ve been browsing /p/ for months now, and only in the last two months have I posted here.
I used to be a dAfag, Always taking macros of random shit thinking that it would be insta-cool, then it dawned on me, I should probably seek somewhere that has a lot of info about photography, and is from real people.
Ergo, here I am, dAfagattory lost. Wanting to get into serious Photogragraphy, or what I can with my Canon PowerShot S3 IS. My goal is to get some really good money making techniques down and earn enough to buy a new camera. Not a gear fag, far from it. All i want to have is a good telephoto and macro kit. I don't care who has bigger glass than me, as long as they can put it to use well, I will respect them.
I don`t know if there is some easy Wiki or copypasta that /p/ has for getting into the more complex stuff or not.
I digress, I just haven`t had any training or help from someone that is better with a camera ( not many exist around here that won`t charge you out the ass.) so everything that I know, i learned myself.

anyone know what happened with my EXIF data?

>>225084

What did you do to the photos?

Whats your workflow?

Post it up like: Camera > editor > export info

like mine would be: Camera > Aperture 2 > Photoshop CS3 > Aperture 2 > Exported

Just a side note that might not mean anything. The card that im currently using is the Micro SD for my phone with an adapter on it. The Windows XP Service Pack 3 came out and so I downloaded it (rather my computer did without telling me even though i have it set to only download when i blahblah). Before that I would just take the SD card from my camera and plug straight into my computer. But after the update when I used my SD slot my computer would become unresponsive. Thus I have to use my Canon software and mini USB port in the camera to access my photos.

But it goes Camera>Paint.NET/PhotoCS3>save as..>png format.

does the png extension support EXIF?

I have a query for /p/.
Why is it that when I shoot with my highest F# (8) and lowest ISO (80) and focus on something (the closest part of the pole on the left side), everything else that is out of focus is horridly noisy?

This better?
Going for a slight out of view on this one, and loose rule of thirds.
