I've got $1000 burning a hole in my pocket and I need suggestions on which camera to buy, /p/. I know you motherfuckers hate threads like these, but what better way is there to recruit people into this hobby than to help 'em out with this shit. Anyway, the choice must be between a nikon and canon.

DSLR = Nikon D60 or D80.

Point and shoot = Sony Cybershot H3.

DSLR = Nikon D80, or Canon Rebel XSi with their respective stabilized 18-55 lens (18-55 IS for Canon, 18-55 VR for Nikon).

P&S: Canon PowerShot A-series

Film: Nikon F100 (I suppose. I have no real Nikon knowledge here) or Canon EOS 7NE

Nikon FE2 would also be a good and cheaper film camera to start off on, even though it looks like you're just out to blow money.
