Medium-Format-Anon again, posting some things that aren't that same old formula that half of you think is snapshots.

argh...
Can you kinda describe the scene? Night/day? aperture if you remember?

I'm guessing daylight around noon, f/16 at 1 second? Or just inverted night shot?

Winter.
Lots of snow, lots of fog.
Can't remember the exposure, but it was relatively long for being the middle of the day, on account of the ridiculous fog.
From the same day.

Could you add some fake exif with your shots like film/speed, conditions, much appreciated.

I don't know how to go about that, but I'll answer any questions to the best of my recollection that you may have.

you srly think he shot that in the afternoon at f16 and 1 second? Fail... not even with an ISO of 50 could he do that... Look how grainy it is... it was at least an ISO of 400+

if he was shooting in the afternoon (even with the clouds) he would have had to of had at least a 16+ apt and a 1/250 shutter with 400 iso (if the clouds weren't there he could have shot with a 1/500 shutter), but I actually think he pushed up to a 1/500 to make the picture darker...

f/64 is def 16+

f/64 or f/blackhole.. Not to sure which one is right...

First ever attempt at medium format, I almost unrolled the whole thing trying to fasten it after taking it out of the camera.

Then the photolab sent it off for 2 weeks, then told me the place they sent it to couldn't develop it, but they could do it here, now.

I think they meant automated because the person at the counter talked with some guy in the back for a while about it and he took the film, so maybe he did it himself?

And then my scanner decided to be a piece of shit.

the second one i think is beautiful. her eyes drew me in and made me stare
last ones cool... nothing specific

I did better taking a photo of the negative whilst backlit. Crooked horizon, I know.

I would love to learn to develop my own stuff, I've skimmed over a bunch of beginner guides a couple of times and the basics do seem pretty simple, the hard part for me would be creating a darkroom for myself.

However the photography course I'm starting later this year has a film development section meaning they'll have a darkroom somewhere, just have to find out if I can use it for personal shots.

Protip: Medium-format is not a landscape photography film. Best to experiment with people as your subjects to see the real differences between 35mm and medium-format.

Protip.
Wat
There are NO MF shots here.
There is ONE from 35mm, its Kodachrome 64 and should stand out as such.
The rest are 4x5 and 8x10.

That was more aimed at Sicko.

One of my friends walked into the local Ritz to ask if they develop medium format. The people there asked what medium format was and both of us haven't shopped there since (not that I shop there prior to that).

I found out recently that a Wolf Camera four blocks north of me used to be a go-to shop for pros in my city before they sold it to Wolf, and that Wolf in now years-old news articles had said they "weren't going to change anything."

I went to check it out- big consumer lighting kit right next to the front door, half the display area taken up by a sampling of 4x6 frames, an EOS-3, EOS-1, and F5 were the only film cameras and the only pro cameras on display, and all the film they sold fit into a basket.

Luckily, just three blocks north and seven blocks east of me in an old, musty, cluttered little photo shop with shelves and shelves of old Leica, Nikon, Canon, Pentax, Hasselblad, Mamiya, etc, multiple fridges stacked with film, all sorts of developing equipment, professional flash stuff, as well as all the newest digital and consumer stuff.

why not ? i seen many landscape mf shots that would not look anywhere near as good in 35mm .
>> Anonymous
>>210082
Ignorant dickwad, if anything, medium format is superior to 35mm for the landscape photography. Do some reading on it.

TLDR: Medium format delivers a higher resolution and better tonal range than 35mm, it's better than 35mm, dickwad.

I don't believe you. Not even a little bit.

>>210141
Man, you're lucky. The pro shop near me just sold the bigger of their two film fridges, and the one across town is full of people who can't understand why anyone wouldn't want more automation.

personally i would say that the d60 is a great camera.......for all of you that are saying shit about it its not true.....if you think its shitty then its user error because it take wonderful pics.......
>> Anonymous
>>211647
No, we think it's shitty because there are no first-party wide or normal primes for it and because Nikon made it to be the ultimate soccer-mom camera.
