Aperture Anonymous
Hey guys. Just curious if any of you have extensively used the program "Aperture" and if its worth me getting.

Its not worth it. It would be if I gave a shit about my pictures.

Not too extensively but yeah, I like it. But try before buying.

Yeah, it's a pretty nice program. What I've been using it for three weeks now, I'm quite fond of it. Especially the full screen mode with floating helper windows and photo stacking is awesome.

I couldnt figure out how to actually *use* it for anything useful, other than shuffling your shots around.

Photoshop RAW is superior.

Probably not if you know what shot you want, since raws suck pretty much at thumbnail browsing without a specialized app. What I think that Aperture does great is the auto-stacking feature as well as being able to either browse through the photos in thumbnail mode, or in full screen mode, or throw the photos on a virtual light table and do your stuff on them there.

Of course, Aperture's not your choice if you need to shop out a hand or add vignetting.

Oh yeah, the same thing as in Lightroom, being able to tag your photos, sort them into different folders and/or projects.

Lightroom is pretty awesome, thouggh I prefer Aperture now.

And apparently I fail at screenshots and PNG's.

I'll go cut myself now.

Not quite. It's from the same batch as while I was in Kyoto, but those ones are from Nara. Both pretty nice places.
