Alright /p/, this is maybe the four billionth time you've gotten this shit and I apologize but today blew. I tend not to come here very often, but you folks have a reputation for being machiavellian, and not taking shit from anyone. I figured you may relate to a fellow anon.

I've saved for quite some time, and I set out today to buy my 40D. I'm not really sure what I was thinking, but I (silly me) went to Best Buy, and Circuit City. I have about $1400 and would have liked to have gotten the kit lens and maybe a 4gig card.

After spending the entire day driving around and fighting with managers, employees and ending up getting nowhere, turns out none of the places even have it in stock.

I know I can get this camera cheaper online, and maybe even with some goodies. However, many places I look seem too good to be true (because they are.) So as a n00bz0r, I humbly /r/ in /p/, where can I "not get screwed", and get what I'm looking for for less than $1400?

Really, I'm at wits end, and may become an hero.

pic unrelated. Taken with a SONY in Montreal. Sue me.

Go with B&H. Good service and prices. They've got a very good reputation.

I'll look into that. Thanks for the quick reply. I try not to go down the Amazon venue.

Pic related.

I don't think you can even haggle with stores like Best Buy. They gain nothing from giving you free stuff. The most they do is a 50-100$ rebate if you get their extended warranty.

Also, B&H is owned by jews.

That is the 17-85 IS kit. While it's not the greatest les around, it 'does' retail for 500$ by itself.

Ah, now I see.

I can't stress enough just how important it is to go with someone who has good customer service and a good reputation rather than the lowest price you can find.

www.photoprice.ca has good price comparisons from most online retailers, from the US or Canada.

I'm in Quebec and I order my stuff from B&H.

Do some actual research before buying shit like this.

Also, are you some Macfag?

Thanks for the referrals guys.

You get the award for being the first butthurt genuine asshole of the night. High five for not reading a single thing I wrote.

-Anyways, thanks again anon.

Um, what? Butthurt? You drive around haggling for shit and you don't even realize why the kit from B&H is more expensive than the body on Amazon. Your post doesn't say anything.

How exactly am I "butthurt?"

I think he's saying "butthurt" without actually understanding what he is saying.

Cut the lame imagery, and become AN HERO!

Really. I think my 3 posts have been valid.

The only reason why OP would be calling me "butthurt" is the Macfag comment. But he fails to realize it's like saying Nikonfag or Canonfag. There's nothing wrong with that.

I just asked because the picture in OP was labelled "Picture 11.png" which is the default naming scheme from OS X and I've also noticed the antialiasing in the second picture he posted.

Everyone in the known universe understands how Mac OS names images. The point is, it's late. I expected to have my camera, and "I've done my research". It's all explained in the original post. This is the last post for me. I'm not arguing over the internet.

"Everyone in the known universe understands how Mac OS names images."

Tell that to /g/.

"The point is, it's late."

lol

"I've done my research"

You didn't say that in your first post. And if you did, that's some shit research.

Saved up money then goes to Best Buy and doesn't know the difference between each kit lens. Priceless.

"It's all explained in the original post."

No, it's not.

What exactly is the goal of such an image? Shock value? Comedy? Either way, neither are truly memorable in this image. It looks like something that would be posted as a tag by a *chan poster.

Um good luck on that- $1500 with lens on the Egg
