Found a nice little frog. Didn't jump away scared or anything. Sat perfectly for this picture. I thought he was photogenic. What does /p/ think?

No big deal, it is a frog. Unlike turtles they can disappear if you don't get them while you can.
I agree though, the bokeh is overpowering although the frog is really neat. Love the position of the frog, just too much bokeh.

Essentially yes, I understand that photographing living, non-human subjects is tough as they are prone to movement and not co-operating, so for the sake of what it is, it's nice.

Also, did you sharpen a lot? I can see in the bokeh lots of grain produced from sharpening a little too much.

Cheers.

>>228700saw frog, grabbed camera, tried to compose as quickly as possible.

That's the essence of photography. You didn't do anything wrong - the picture just wasn't perfect. Keep taking pictures, and eventually some will be.

This guy over-analyzes too much. It's not a painting, it's a photograph.

You can only frame the camera around reality - you can't frame reality around the camera. The latter is the province of illustration, not photography, and his comments are only justifiable were this a painting and not a picture.

Actually no, just a quick load into CS3 for a "Auto Levels" touchup then went straight to save as to keep its full size but compress it down like 8x the size... Possibly the auto gain from it being taken at 800 speed... ?? yes/no?

The ISO rating explains it. It doesn't really do anything to hinder the picture though, I'm just really nitpicky.
