I recently was asked to do a wedding for a friend not knoowing they already paid for a pro photographer for the same wedding. the following is one of my best shots i have ever taken.

Its common and smart to have a backup photographer for a wedding. A single paid non related photographer, and then a relative or friend who is into "photography" that will do it for free or cheap, just to expand their portfolio / get experience.

Ive done that once before and will be doing it again in a couple months. Weddings are a nice challenge for me. I can't say I like your picture that you posted though, because it hides too much of what you want to see, which is the people, The wall and TV and flag are all crap, You want them out of your picture, so what would have been better is to angle it so the left side of your picture was the first guy, and the right side was the last in line.

Also you obviously don't have the equipment to shoot a wedding. a DSLR with a few primes or f2.8 zooms are pretty much mandatory, as lighting is usually atrocious.
