so i was bored and say this on a japan website.PLastic TLR US$172.53is this like a holga?Three colours available: blue, black, orange. Please specify when ordering. Personally we recommend the coloured ones, as the black one looks fairly ordinary - a matter of taste of course!
yeah, it's exactly like a holga, except it shoots square frames on 35mm. more japan trendiness. avoid like the plague.
>>>except it shoots square frames on 35mmI laugh every single time I read that.
>>294988god damnitwhat about the "HRII Minicopy film" this crap too?
If the camera's meant to be sketchy, don't pay that much for it. I can understand the appeal of this fad, as cameras are getting a little gadgety, but don't pay over the odds for trendy lomo shit.
>>294994Pretty much. Not much point using this for copying documents either.I weep that the land that contains and is the source of so much awesome photography gear feels the need to dabble in these terrible Chinese-inspired plastic monstrosities. For the price of one of those you could easily pick up a TLR camera from eBay or something. They probably cost about $2 at most for China to produce.
>>295006A lot of it seems to be kids wanting to be "cool" and "alternative/retro" or just trying to be different for difference sake, with the hope that that will somehow give their work merit when skill and talent has failed. Those would be the ones buying the plastic junk.If someone wanted to buy one of the many decent old TLR from eBay or something for nostalgia reasons (having used them in the past) or as a kid wanting to learn the basics of film and photography then I'd be happy to help them and sometimes even give them one of my old cameras that I tend to collect and refurbish. It's nice to see them put to use and usually they learn something from using these old mostly manual cameras.Back when Diana and all the others first came out they were known as garbage toy cameras when we were all using film. They were worse than even the cheap consumer and disposable cameras in every way. It's crazy that kids are paying so much money for them now and that their original reputation and prices seems to have been quietly swept under the carpet. Of course the fact that these cameras are being sold in fashion type stores explains a lot. Urgh.
>>295016Do you happen to have an old TLR that you're not using and would want to give away? I'd pay for shipping.
>>295040I do, but there's someone who's got first dibs on it if they decide they want it. He's a nice kid and I did promise, sorry. :/
op here anyone have a TLR with a 135mm lens? DO WANT
