1. EOS 5/400D/Mamiya 1000s
2. LR2/Picasa
3. Scan/Import, Clean scratches/dust, make it look like the scene I saw in terms of light by changing curves, export high sharpening.
>> NatureGuy !se3A3TwzdY
1) Canon 30D
2) Photoshop CS2
3) Exposure Adjust -> Temp Adjust everything I else I do in adjustment layers so I can tinker with the appearance as I work on it. Usually it's: Levels (checking for true whites and blacks or adjusting the amount) -> Curves ->Selective area adjustments -> final spot/burn/sponge/blur tweaking ->sharpen.

1. My camera. (Nice one, Honest So You Don't Have To Be.)
2. Photoshop.
3. Shoot raw + JPEG for the editing and file-finding convenience. Go through preview JPEGs with Windows Photo and Fax, Breezebrowser with the raws if I want a little better look.

Open the ones I want to process in ACR. Process them. 90% of the time continue on to Photoshop for black and white conversion, sharpening, dodging and burning, and all sorts of minor adjustments.

Save it in a Photoshop file. Resize to a good size for a computer screens, save the resized version as a PNG. If I plan to show /p/, also save a resized JPEG.

you really should start shooting RAW. its a lot easier to get white balance type adjustments and what not done.
>> NatureGuy !se3A3TwzdY
>>233145
1) shoot raw
2) open files in photoshop
3) enjoy the better files and amazing flexibility provided by the raw editor
4) ?????
5) profit

Really the raw editor in photoshop is cake to use and makes getting the exposure just right a little bit more forgiving.
>> beethy !vW/UaE6zYU

yea.. i know this but refused for over a year because i'm so comfortable with my JPG (lol!) workflow.
i'll try and make the switch with the help of this thread..

BAW WORKFLOW

D80
Photoshop

Copy stuff from card to archive, open one by one.
>> Anonymous
>>233162
i cannot imagine doing that for 400+ files.

to answer the question,
-lightroom
-flag ones i want
-do my edits
-export to jpeg

if i have to do more specific edits (skin smoothing/etc), i'll bring each jpeg into photoshop but that's really it.
>> Einta !!MWv3ICYobCM
1. XSi, various lenses.
2. DPP, CS3, PainterX.
3.

I. Raws get dumped into folders that are named by date (2008_08_11 would be today's folder).

II. I set whitebalance and exposure in DPP as well as flagging. Flag 1 = primary focus, Flag 2 = secondary focus, Flag 3 = delete.

III. Send individually to photoshop, edit. Depending on the image, save as PSD or jpeg.

For the context of my photography (as the type of shooting style and genre you do will affect workflow extensively), I shoot a hell of a lot of images and extensively edit a far smaller number of them. I do not require a large number of "for-publication images", I simply need a few suitable ones.
