Set up camera on tripod and scene with lights on, focus, turn the light off, trigger shutter, move lights about.

what kind of lights do you use? Are they normal flashlights or something else?

For mine it's iPhones with a light app where you can choose a colour, but torches/LED lights, anything works.

This was with a torch.

These posts come up all the time, but I'd have to say OP that yours is the best example of light painting in any of these threads I've seen. Nice work!

I just had a go at light painting for the first time, I was pretty fail :\ The lights meant to be steam coming from the cup. I guess it'd look a bit better if I'd used a lower iso to reduce the noise, will have another go some time unless you think it'll still look shit either way.

Thats my favorite out of the bunch.

If you own a flash supports it, you can also try playing around with second curtain sync. That will allow you to light paint and also see the object you took a picture of

If you want it for commercial use im sure we can strike a deal, or you will just rip a copy of it if you happen to be an unscrupulous individual.

>>128344here again, managed to get a better one of this. The "steam" still looks kinda crap though. I'm using a keyring personal-light-type thing, is there something better I could be using which would make the lights look much better?

The first one I did, for this album sleeve project.

Two flashes on either side on a rear curtain sync. I envisioned a lower camera angle from behind, but this was good enough for me.

Well, yeah, i didnt say you guys were bad at it. Its just i enjoy winding up people who cant handle it.

Beyond that, theres a lot of good pictures here, im liking OPs primary effort. And some of the stuff not based in a bloody bedroom.
