I sincerely hope your others are the better ones, because although I see the attempt with these 2, they aren't composed that carefully

The first one would have helped to have film, since the gradient of the sky has been seriously damaged by post processing (either in the camera or on the comp)

i see you have a 20D, and a lens that drops to F2.8 at least, which means you sunk a lot of cash into your setup at the least. So if your serious about it, All the money is in portrait photography, try practicing those.
