i'm purchasing a Canon Powershot G9. i'm only seeing panoramic and telephoto lens accessories from Canon.

is this model relatively compatible with other optional lenses?
>> Anonymous
Nope. It's a fixed-lens camera, so you're lucky to even have the wide and tele adapter lenses as an option. You can slap any sort of filter (of the appropriate size, with an adapter) on it, but the only lens option you have is the one attached to the camera.

If you want to be able to use different lenses, you might want to look into picking up a low end/used digital SLR. The Nikon D40 and Canon Digital Rebel XT sell for about the same price, new, as the G9 and will give you vastly more flexibility and image quality.

No, it isn't. Non-SLR cameras almost never have anything else than a single wide-angle and a single telephoto lens converter.

YEAH YOU CANT CHANGE LENSES ON RANGE FINDERS AND VIEW CAMERAS CAUSE THEY'RE NOT SLRS SO DONT GET ONE

I meant digital cameras here, obviously.

There are only a couple digital rangefinders, which are most likely far out of OP's price range anyway.

That could be useful if Steve updated that list more often. Some of the cameras there aren't produced anymore.
