>>142672 Of the 391,680 pixels in this picture, 14,872 are dedicated to your actual subject. That's roughly one twenty-sixth of the frame.
Additionally, your subject is a guy in a dark coat walking away from you. I.e., mostly just a black blob.
Unless you meant the subject to be the big partially-cut-off white car? Or the big black light pole? Or the building in the background? Or the tree waving in the breeze? Or the clouds? Or the sidewalk? All of these have been given more visual weight in the shot thanks to your composition. It's basically just a boring snapshot. Making it black and white didn't make it interesting. If it was black and white film and not a desaturated digital shot, then shooting it on black and white film didn't make it interesting.
The guy who replied to you was saying that it would be a bit better if you hadn't clipped off part of the car and if you'd adjusted the contrast so you had sharp blacks and whites instead of just a sort of dull gray throughout. Which is true, but it still wouldn't be a terribly compelling shot.
Sorry if I sound overly harsh here, but I hate when people bump their threads on /p/ without even the pretense of adding something to the thread.
