i come to you in search of some help with shooping or in search to find the technique used to achieve the hues and colours used in this picture, was it shot b/w? or with a special film?

go out, shoot some Ilford XP2, develop, scan, put into photoshop, convert to greyscale=profit

there are about six billion very easy ways to do this in photoshop.

1) gradient map.
2) duotones color mode
3) color layer over a desaturated background, etc.

but yeah, this is just the way the film looks.

Why convert to grayscale? It's already b&w, does it get color casts or something?
