Dear /p/,

How do I go about learning to develop my own film? I have a Pentax K1000 that's getting less use than it should right now. I figure that if the process is more interesting than dropping off rolls of film at Costco, maybe I will take more pictures with it.

developing C41 yourself? or B&W?
because they are worlds apart in terms of simplicity for self development.

Then you want traditional B&W. Color's conceptually similar, but several more steps and it's much, much more finicky about timing and temperatures.
