I get the same thing on my upper left corner with my D70s for 30 sec exposures.

Beautifull ISO 100 noise <3

Hmmm, i wonder if its a leak from the viewfinder or something.

turn off your noise reduction.

that's what causing it.

It is off

also, the "negative vignette" is light sources outside the frame that are "leaking" onto the sensor due to long exposure. Get out of the city when you take long exposures.

wtf is this shit? is this supposed to be astrophotography?

It should still be under sony warranty cause it's a a350.

Call up sony and tell them there's either a light leak or your sensor is fubar.
>> Anonymous
What the fuck are you taking pictures of that needs a 25 minute exposure? Whatever it is, you failed.
>> Anonymous
>>189089
They'll just say that it's normal and don't take pictures with long exposures.

Enjoy your amp glow.

My 56AM actually died recently. I called up sony, told them, "It doesn't work," packed it up and shipped it off. 2 weeks later i got a brand new 56AM.

OK, just to get this straight, this is not a camera defect, it's a design problem. It's called amp glow, and it's common on some DSLR's for long exposures (like the one shown). I believe the D80 has the same issue.

Not if you don't say it only happens when you are taking long exposures.

OP needs this.

also, wtf op? a 26 minute exposure?

If you want to do astrophotography you need to do a lot more than a long ass exposure.
>> Anonymous
OP, what you're seeing is actually the sensor getting noise due to overheating. I'm not saying ice the camera, but if you're shooting in south Georgia 90 degree (Fahrenheit) nights with 100% humidity it's going to look like what you posted.

Also highly relevant:

Guys its not atrological photography! XD I tried that but I cant find my scope :(

>>189157
I knew the noise came from the heating sensor, never knew it could be something like this tho. The camera does get quite warm.
Always wondered if there is some DSLR with external cooling options or something xD

Thanks for the link!

You could also consider a film camera (gasp!)that can take your lenses, and use that to do astrophotography. Film won't overheat on long exposures.
