Question from a (usually) digital photographer Anonymous
Do all polaroid cameras (those weird tiny ones aside) take the same film? Cause I've found a semi old one in the basement and I'm not sure what to use.
pic not related...

if it's old, is it worth buying old film then ;3;
if that's the case, this sucks.

It's likely that it just uses regular Polaroid 600 because that's what most of the generic Polaroids use but it's possible it uses Spectra or something else. It probably says somewhere on the camera which film to use.

It depends on how old this semi-old polaroid is. If you were smart, you'd have posted a picture of the camera instead of this zombie pigeon pic that's going to get deleted anyway when a mod notices it.

If it's not *too* old, it probably takes 600 film. If it's old enough, though, it should take pack film. You can still buy both--the pack film is still used in professional circles since that's what the polaroid backs for medium format cameras use.

There's also the chance that it takes Spectra film (which is still available), discontinued 600ish-but-not-quite SX-70 film (in which case it can be hacked to use 600), or Captiva film (in which case you're screwed unless you want to pay exorbitant amounts to someone on eBay for expired film)

ok just checked it. It is indeed a Polaroid 600, "LAND" something...
I tried to take a photo, but a little red light inside went off instead. Does this mean it's empty (there is film inside)?

yeah, sorry about my stupidity, I've never used a Polaroid cam before. ;_;

What is the difference between 600 and 600plus? My friend has a polaroid camera which takes 600plus film, but someone at some camereshop told her the film isn't produced anymore...
