Hay /p/. I'm the guy who made that thread the other day asking about the D40, 400D or the E-410.

Turns out I received a late christmas gift, and inside the box was a D40! This is the first picture I managed to take.

Hello, Bob. your owner might have been a bit too enthousiastic with his camera, and posted a full-size image. you might tell him to rescale his photos to a more user-friendly resolution. 800 pixels on its longest side would be nice :)

dont listen to that guy big is better and this is /p/ besides you just lost all your exif because you havent figured out how to keep it. (use photoshop)

I did use photoshop, at least I resized it.

I'm pretty much a newbie when it comes to all this, which is why I'm here! To learn from the pro's!

don't use export to web, it removes EXIF info
/p/ supports EXIF info, it displays all info on the photo: camera, lens, time, settings, etc.

use ISO100: less noice and better dynamics. doesn't look like you capture some ambient light there.

for kids and animals and stuff, take photos from a lower point, better don't shoot from above
