34054 here, the composition is fine, but it's technically poor. By "pretty postcardish" I meant "cliche, but pleasant to the eye". Just to clear it up.

protip 1: if you remove the UV filter from the front of your lens before taking the shot you may marginally reduce the lens flare!

protip 2: black borders are often used as a cop-out by lazy photographers

protip 3: contrary to what some might think, expensive lenses do have their advantages. in situations like this they'll flare much less extravagantly. that and you could try stopping down much further. f/10's a good idea, but perhaps f/22 or even smaller if your lens supports it.

lmao boarders very large but like he said its great for a postcard and i love those dots that show up from the sun and not sure if anybody else does but it really captures the rising and going down of the sun and you just see it go behind mountains and/or clouds, make more MOAR
