What are /p/s thoughts on HDR?

Personally, I can't stand it. There are some exceptions when its minor, or something really cool. But for the most part I find it distracting and annoying.

When HDR (or more likely tone mapping) isn't noticable, it's great addon to the photo. When it's like "OH MY GOD THIS PHOTO HAS BEEN HDR'ISED", then it's a bad thing. Mostly.
