RAW in Picasa Anonymous
hello /p/,
i have just started to use picasa to manage my pictures. for further editing (if desired) i use gimp.
so now i found out that picasa always seems to process my raws (just for display though). i cannot work like this, cause the pictures always look different!

any idea what to do?

Eh.. dunno. I usually use photoshop cs3 or lightroom.

You sure Picasa works on your raw? Maybe it just works on the jpeg your camera rendered alongside the raw.
Anyhoo, Lightroom rocks.

op here. sure looks like it. i lately don't shoot jpeg at all (in order to gain almost 100 more shots on my 4gf cf). so there can be no mistake.

i shoot with raw+jpgbasic, and imported both. picasa do render the raw

ufraw saves the settings from the last picture you edited, you have to reset (go through all the settings and click the reset buton) it manually to get it the way it looks in another editor. at least I think it does.

op here.
sure, i know, that's the way photoshop does it, too. but i took a picture i didn't work on so far, i only opened it with micsosofts raw viewer (which does not allos any editing).

could it be that picasa just doesn't render it properly?
