backpack annoyingmouse
ah ffs I hate it when you click 'submit' and the system loses your post.
Anyways, I am looking for a bag.
I got some specific requirements but surprisingly enough, it seems as if several manufacturers make such bags.
1. A comfortable good looking backpack.
2. seperate camera section that can keep a medium sized DSLR with lens mounted.
3. seperate area for a 15" laptop.
4. Space for extra stuff like papers/ maybe books/ lunch pack etc. maybe big enough to stuff a jacket in when needed.
5. Must be strong enough to take some mild abuse (caught my kid just the other day using my current bag as a bench in order to reach a higher shelf).
Can any of you good people recommend something for me? There is a very poor selection of bags I can look at in the local shops around here and so I am forced to buy something off the net without trying it out first.

attached picture not really related. It was supposed to show how great the Nikon D300 can be but instead it got slaughtered by 'save to web'.

ZOMG you called me "really obvious newfag". You are my new hero, you are so cool and I want to be just like you. But seriously, now that I know that you are looking for a bag "with almost the exact same features also" I should probably consider something else for myself.

Thanks, Crumpler make some nice looking bags. I am just not sure that the half/half bags they make can actually fit my camera in the dedicated area so I'll have to find a shop that sells them where I can try one out.

I use one of these: http://www.tamrac.com/frame_exp.htm

And with 1 film SLR, 1 digital SLR w/ battery grip, a 70-200mm, 2 50mms, a wide angle zoom, a Tamron 28-75, and a Canon 580EX flash, I can't fit anything else in it (besides a laptop in the front and the usual filters and film and such). It's a huge backpack already...makes you look like an astronaut since it's so deep. So I don't know what to tell you about shoving your school work and coat into a photo backpack. It'd probably be one huge ugly pack.

Does it need to have seperate sections? You could always find some foam, cut it to size, and glue it in.

And what size lens are we talking about mounting?

The Computrekker is good, and if you wanna hold a lot of stuff I guess it could fit it all in, but yeah XBOX like qualities.
