Dear /P/,

I've recently got into photography, and wish to take pictures as seen here. Is there anything I can use that will help me get started? If so please post!

Go out and learn about your camera, take lots of pictures. Decide what you like to photograph and photograph it. Learn it, photograph it from every angle, and take a different approach than someone else has taken. Then post it for critque-- take the critiques you get to heart, without getting offended (unless it's obvious trolling) and go out and try to improve.

Study other photographers; find out what type of photographer you are. Read books on the basics. Just learn as much as you can.

Except don't get offended by the obvious trolls, either. Just ignore them.

Read as much as you can, even if it means sitting in a Barnes & Noble for 3 hours. Take as many pictures as you can, and don't get discouraged. Everyone sucks at first. Some of us still suck :p

Think Ansel Adams took lots of pictures of his cat and boring flowers and sunsets and whatnot before he got famous?

(This is not in any way meant as disagreeing with you. I'm genuinely curious to know the answer to that question now. I'd like to see Ansel Adams' first roll of film.)

(Assuming his first pictures were on roll film, which might not be the case)
