Not really.
It only works because you're using it on a photo that was lit exactly the same way, with exactly the same subjects.

Try it on a different photo and it won't work.

Well, I suppose we all got our views on it, but for me its more like 40% being there and 40% actually thinking about it and taking the photo and the rest 20% for misc stuff, "photoshops" aren't crucial to decide a good photo. But I'm not a famous guy so who cares.
