looks like every other hdr seaside i've ever seen. That doesn't mean it's a bad picture -- it isn't, i actually think it looks very nice -- but that it just doesn't seem very original.

That's one thing that I have a hard time with while taking photos, being completely original. Like, I'll see a scene, and it will remind me of a similar photo I've seen (most likely taken by someone much better than me). I'll try to think of a novel way to present the scene, but its very hard. I mean, yeah a seascape is pretty, but there are hundreds of thousands of them out there. It's not going to change the world. When I go out with my camera, I am looking for some shot that is completely original to me, and that will the world's collective consciousness. That's probably why I suck.

To finish this with an a bit of an analogy..yeah, you can learn to play music written by other bands and stop at that, or you can learn to make your own and be truly creative.

You know you'll need to post your work to back that up right?
Actually, I'm just curious.

Doesn't make it any more or less of a photograph, but OP didn't pick his shutter speed.

It doesn't remotely look like HDR.
>>119534
Technically it isn't a photograph, it's a digital image. And your point is?

How the hell can you tell what decisions he made based on the way the cameras was set? Nitpicking faggot is right.
>> Jeremo !iKGMr61IHM
Pretty damn sure that's NOT a HDR.

The Exif confirms it.

IT's a great shot, I personally would have focused on the fallen pier. But i really like this shot.

HDR usually wont have all that info all neat for you since it is several different shots and exposures and poet processing.

because if a camera is set to aperture priority you choose the aperture and the camera chooses the shutter speed for you? and there was no exposure compensation so...

Its a good photo, who cares what mode his camera was set on.

If he shot on full auto and he came back with this (not likely to be the case but its an exaggeration for argument's sake) it would still be a quality shot.

Hey guys? I don't think "He didn't pick his shutter speed" was meant as a criticism. He was just responding to Beethy saying that the OP picked a good shutter speed by pointing out that the OP didn't really pick the shutter speed per se, he picked the aperture and let the camera handle the shutter speed. There was no implied or explicit judgment there, either good or bad.

Diffraction!

Well you should have tried something diffrent then Auto on the exposure... if you had put down the time and apature then you would have gotten less blurry water wave and gotten a more smooth feeling to the photo. but that is my own oppion.

Well shorter or longer exposure time, thats it.

But it is still a nice picture!
