Soup /p/

I am looking for a new camera case. I want a backpack so it doesn't look like a camera case, and one that can hold a laptop too. Preferably no more than $170. I'm looking at the kata rucksacks. Are there better alternatives?

What does /p/ think?

Honestly I owned the kata in OP's picture and found it didn't work for me. Seemed to stiff and I had a hard time getting stuff out of it on the run.
The backpack I've been using for the last year and a half is just a victorinox... Menash I believe

Its been to yosemite, glacier, the grand tetons, Canada and mexico, plus the airplane flights to get me to said places.
For travel I'll keep my 15" macbookpro + a 5D, 70-200F4, and 17-40F4 plus all the requiste cables, and 2-3 days worth of clothes

Really the only thing I wish it had was a waist strap

Also 6'1" male

Not much for Anon to say, I think Kata bags are awesome.

Your mileage may vary, but I've found that I strongly dislike the backpack style of photography bag. Requires you to set your stuff down and dig through it to get your camera, or a different lens, or a filter, or whatever. With a shoulder bag, you just lift the flap and grab it.

Seems quite handy to me. Check the product video to see it in action. Is any anonymous using one? I'm very close getting one, but I'd like to hear some user comments first.

somewhat off topic, but what is the lens mounted on the camera in this pic? i don't believe i've ever seen one that looks quite like that in any system

looks almost like that canon powerzoom lens, but not quite

Almost looks like the 24-70mm, but it looks like the hood is a little closer to the body than I thought it would be.

i just noticed that the reason the lens looks so strange is because the lens hood is on it backwards
disregard this, i suck cocks
