hey /p/ just quickly:

i have some shots in a picture ratio that doesnt match my laptop screen(20:7 on a 4:3 screen) so how do i set them as desktop backgrounds and just leave black bars along the top and bottom. same thing for portrait shots?

rez image so longest width is same as deskop rez width.

set as centred image and put desktop colour to black.


if you cant do it from this you are a cretin and dont deserve nice backgrounds.

I have this suspicion that windows doesn't use good downscaling algorithms, and I know that the upscaling is terrible, so I just open them in photoshop and mask/resize to my screen's native res. Works great.

Or getamac. They do this stuff in the desktop control panel.
