For 4 years i managed not to make the canon eos 300D digital fall on the floor.

My mother is the one that made it fall for the first time today while doing some shit.

Are they strong cameras? How do i see if it has any damage? it has fallen from 50 or 60 cm.
>> Blackadder !!bSWRwu/NqzQ
First step: kill your mother.

Next step: how did it fall and what surface did it hit? was it just the body with no lens on it?

Look it over, inside and out for any cracks or obvious faults, then power it up and try a few shots. Go through everything you can think of to see if it gives up.

Sometimes you can get lucky with these things and other times they die horribly.
>> Blackadder !!bSWRwu/NqzQ
Also: why was your mother holding the camera while pinching off a loaf? Was she trying to be the new tubgirl?

i cant speak for the canon as i dont own one, but i've dropped my D70 many times, and some similar or more higher than yours. the D70 is great.

maybe cos she's a hooker and she was doing (fucking) some shit (customer)? the mystery deepens.

Could be a drug user or dealer. She was "doing" (smoking snorting or injecting) some (good) "shit". Mystery solved.

You might be okay then. I remember I had a camera die when the strap around me suddenly snapped and it hit the ground with the lens down so the lens mount got bent. Ruined.

I once dropped my 30D, which had 70-300mm lens attached. From half meter to a concrete.
I felt how my heart miss two strokes. Besides the scratches, nothing serious happened. <3

I do! Actually I stick with a cheaper alternative, plastic bag and tape. Make a hole large enough for your lens hood in the bottom and seal it with tape! But I don't use it often, a camera need to be able to take a little rain, if it rains heavy I hide it under my jacket or something most of the time. Yeah, I know its looks dumb and pretty clumsy but a camera condom is not very practical either. Only time I use it is when I use my tripod.

Looks like the actual lens is fine. Just the UV filter that's smashed.

Worst I've ever done to a camera. Landed on a pointy rock when I lost my grip while trying to unscrew the filter I had on it. Still works fine, though. Had to superglue that bent top panel down a few months after this, though.

But I must ask, in what situation did that happen? The lens itself is quite deep? Would the thing which broke the filter, hit the actual lens, if there wouldn't be the filter in the first place?
