"Today, I encountered an opposite problem taking scenic shots: in auto mode, in bright daylight, the flash popped up (almost knocked my hat off) and fired away. Each time I had the camera in auto mode, this was repeated.
With a reading of about 1/250 @ f13, that flash shouldn't be coming up and firing unless I want it to.
What am I missing here, folks. The manual isn't offering any clues. It must be something so simple I am overlooking it..or a flaw in the camera. Perhaps, related to the no-fire situation in dark conditions.
I ain't exactly a newbie. I've been shooting since ... well, a very long time. I regularly win at our camera club competition and have sold some pix. I understand the various relationships among aperture, shutter et al. I can drive Photoshop.
