Shitty bokeh.
Why is there a fire truck.
Models have plastic-looking skin.
Pictures are all over-saturated.
Pictures are too contrasty.
Mid-tones look too dark in all images.

As usual, every one of these images is over-processed.

However I would like to commend you on not over-using USM or Vignetting. This is the first set you've posted where I have no interest in posting any of the memes normally associated with your posts.

There are still problems, but this shows significant improvement.
Good job.

Wow, /p/'s pretty gentle today.

>>222807
First thing I noticed was the bokeh. It really is busy, but I guess it's not too bad. I still prefer something smoother and more creamy, but it's not like it ruins the shot. The outfit's a good choice: Simple, but still eye-catching enough with those heels (but lose the fucking watch). Did you add faux dust and scratches to this? Because it really isn't necessary. You can hardly see it and it doesn't add anything even if it was noticeable. However, you really seemed to have taken some of my advice with loosening up your subjects. We can see she's relaxed and probably laughing about some crack about a priest, a rabbi, and the Trix rabbit walking into a bar. Her face is a little weird, but it's okay. The firetruck is an interesting choice of background, but whatever, it works. A strong start to the thread so far. Nothing too bad I can say about this one.

>>222809
Wow, bold, striking. Instead of having empty composition, you justified it with the mural in the background. Her face is a little too contrasty here (a post-processing mistake), but the lighting is spot on. That tree bothers me. It looks like one of those little things you don't notice until after the shot's taken. Also, she kinda looks fat with this pose, another little thing you don't really notice until the shot's taken. This is why it's good to stop and really study your shots every now and again while models change, reapply makeup, etc.

>>222810
Nice, pleasing. The moving car really adds to this shot. Your post-processing saturation isn't too bad here. It's enough to really bring out the background (which is obviously a bigger part of the photo because of how far away you are from the model). Once again, your model looks fat. Why? Pose and lighting's great. What are you using for a light source? It looks like you have something big nearby.
>> Srs Critique Fag !2y1il5Qy0g
(con't)
>>222812
Not bad, again your bokeh's making me vomit (it doesn't work as well here as it did before) but I guess that's mostly personal taste and there's not much you can do about it. Your high-contrast post-processing has given her dirty armpits :(. You're finally using her hands to keep up the interest instead of having her just stand there. Now try getting her to interact more with the environment or do something with a prop. People rarely just stand around and even though your photo isn't supposed to look like it's candid or anything, there's this amount of integration that supposed to go on between the subject and environment (usually, sometimes the complete opposite is great too, but it has to be done right).

>>222816
All the extra space to left isn't doing anything for me. Also, even though your model's facing the left, her eyes are looking right so it's not like you need all that leading space anyway. Her pose, hands, face, are all solid but there's nothing else really going on in here. It's not like any of these photos are bad, I'm just trying to throw out tips and ideas to maybe help you try something different and get an even better result next shoot.

>>222819
This is more what I like. Great expression from the model here. Her shoes really stand out. I love the depth in this, it stands out more than with your previous two. It looks like you're really going for a street look with these (obviously) but besides the ones with the murals in them, you're in the wrong street. There's not enough litter, the sidewalk's taken care of and almost fancy. Find me some potholed asphalt with puddles and garbage strewn around everywhere and fire escapes for your model to cling to.
>> Srs Critique Fag !2y1il5Qy0g
(con't)
>>222842
Cute model, texture overlay's good here. Did you make a separate layer for it and then mask over the part that was over your model? While she's not really doing anything in the photo, it's okay, it's not boring. Depth is good, but I think the whole image is tilted CW a little... Colors are great.

>>222857
Cute model and pose. Cut it out with that texture overlay, I think it's shitting up your bokeh. I'm pretty sure the saturation isn't what's making their faces look too plasticy, I think it's your post-processing. Did you try to touch them up a little or are they slathered with makeup? Necklace and headband are great, really help with the whole look.

>>222873
Yeah, this is a good look for her, but her pose is a little dry again. Imagine her with the same face but playing with that necklace of hers. Insta-slut, lol. Look at magazine covers and see what they're doing differently. People don't just stand around.

>>222902
Yeah, I've come to the conclusion that I'm not a fan of the texture overlay. It's become too much and is fucking with your bokeh in my opinion. The colors in these shots though are really great. The reds and greens from her eyes and the background to the building are what really make it for me in this one. Is there anything different you've been doing to this batch to get these results?

Great work, DC. You're really opening up and improving model direction, I think, esp after those great beach shots with the two models. The direction with those were great if I remember correctly. The colors were beautiful in these, but some people think they were over-saturated. I didn't but that's just me. They're probably right. A little too contrasted with this batch for me, but I guess that's just your style (in b4 shit's not a style). You're really improving though, and that's something to be proud of.

ACR adjustments take care of 90% of the work.

Open the image, duplicate the layer, open adjust the Layers for enhanced monochromatic contrast to boost the vibrancy a bit.
Do any healing, clone stamping, skin softening.
Highlights and shadows. I try to keep both at 5-10% to give the image a little more dynamic look, but not unnatural HDR.
Get creative with curves, adjusting the individual RGB channels. I'm lazy so I have a few actions I have found work well for certain lighting situations.
New soft light layer filled with neutral gray. Then paint with 20% opacity in black and white to dodge or burn areas of the photo to make the subject pop more.
Apply a texture, desaturate all the way or almost all the way and set to overlay, soft or hard light, play with the opacity.
Sharpen, save.

While reading this, some thoughts came to my mind, do photographers that do this kind of work ever get remembered after they die? I think to make an impact on the industry, you have to be either be absolutely revolutionary or have good business and people skills. Most famous photographers for fashion and editorial don't really do anything extraordinary, I think, they just know how to land the jobs. Photography isn't exactly rocket science.

>do photographers that do this kind of work ever get remembered after they die?

Only if they also do more significant/interesting work. Example: Avedon. Though he shot fashion as his source of income, he did a brilliant body of serious portraiture.

We won't remember jerkoffs like Meisel in fifty years, but we will remember Avedon.

>what does it take you to be right next to the great names of photography, like for example in magnum agency?

Doing more significant/interesting work than shooting models, and doing it well.
