Say your in a tunnel made of plexiglass surrounded with dark water and your only light source is above said water.
This was where i found myself this weekend in vegas
im just getting started in photography and couldnt work my way around this.
i considered using flash but because of the light reflecting from one side to another i was getting a "haze" around all of my subjects.
also raised the ISO and discovered that i couldnt hold still long enough and they came out blurry, also since it was pictures of sharks they were also moving.

please /p/ any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
In return i give you this fish.

This is just a guess, I'm a photography newb myself, but a tripod ALWAYS helps and possibly you might need a fill flash. You need more light, but not necessarily directed at your subject. In cases like this, I think raising ISO is your best bet and if you had a tripod, I think you would have been set.

Yeah, flash in a plexiglass tube would suck. Reflections everywhere, no chance for anything good.

Recommend getting a better lens. According to the Exif, you're using a Digital Rebel with the 18-55mm kit lens. That can only do an f/3.5 max aperture. If you buy Canon's 50mm f/1.8 (which is their cheapest lens at ~$75) you can take pictures in much lower light.

So, wide aperture + high ISO = low light yay.

If they're still too blurry, well, try to find interesting things in more well-lit areas. :)

also try a filter; sometimes it can make a huge difference

Thank you all very much.
I think im going to get a new lens when i get back to ft. campbell and get paid
and as for a tripod i need to find one that is small enough to carry around feasibly and still large enough to set up without needing to rig it in some way.

Pic is my dads dog
