Take 6 photos of your city. This took me a while, so long in fact that I stripped the EXIF from two of the photos so I wouldn't be embarassed.

Here we go.

Great choice to go with B&W here. Something about the back wall there looks weird though. It's like I should be able to see more of the ceiling or something. I can't put my finger on it, but it bothers me.

>>233375
Great capture of the repetition and simplicity the lower half of the photo looks too empty to me, though.

>>233377
The lights above the subject's head are neat, but there's really nothing else in this photo that stands out to me. As soulr said, I think a different approach would've been better, I just don't like the composition. Also, might've been better in color.

>>233379
Holy fucking lines, that's an awesome shot. Congratulations, you made an art.

>>233380
Again, another "strong through simplicity" photo. A little pet peeve I have sometimes is when somebody tries to have their subject in a third, or far off from the center to have a cool composition, but then they fill it with just boring or it's cluttered and becomes a distraction. This is definitely the right balance.

>>233381
Again, you're filling all the space around what seems to be your main subject with something so interesting and strong that it becomes the subject itself. Or is that too artfag for you?

Great fucking work, man. Stay here, hang around awhile and help improve the name of Anon.

Do like.

Nice work all round, but you are supposed to include a short bit of text with each photo that explains what the photo means in relation to your city and also what city it is.

Good use of b/w too.

<3 urban landscape.

Looks like someone made a Highpass layer set to overlay and forgot to change the opacity...

It's been such a long time between these threads, I forgot a description. The only one with a story would have to be>>233377. I went to F.A.O. Schwartz on the day of the 20th anniversary of the movie Big where Tom Hanks played on a giant electric keyboard. Apparently they have little performances every now and then by the employees.

>>233554
Yes. That being said, my city would be New York City, specifically Manhattan. I actually remember that wing being closed on one of the days I went there and was pretty pissed off about it.

As for my choice of b&w, it wasn't quite a "choice." I had some Tri-X loaded in my camera and kept that in mind while I was shooting. That's all.

you should never feel bad about anything relating to DC, other than that he won't go the fuck away no matter how much the board hates him.

This is fucking awesome.
I'm not 100% sold on the angle you chose and the fact that it's eye-level (makes it feel like a snapshot) but this is a fucking bomb-diggity subject and it makes for a very interesting and unique photograph.

>had some Tri-X loaded in my camera

explains the awesome contrast, but doesnt make the shots any worse.

No story behind them kina defeats the purpose, it was supposed to be a little series detailing how you thought about the city as an idividual.

I'm pretty sure he means DC as in Washington D.C.
