I need a cheap, but reliable scanner, MAC compatible.

Please help /p/!

Im not sure how cheap you want the scanner to be, but Ive been looking and the Canoscan 8600f Scanner goes for 179 USD. Ive heard some bad things about the software though.

I've got one of those attached to my Mac. I have no problems with the software.

Scanned frame of 120 related.

Awesome! Thanks you guys, I'll check on out this week.

I'm tired of having to use my friends scanners. All I have is an old iBook G3 so I need something not to hardcore. 179USD works well for me.

Why do people insist on spelling "Mac" in capital letters?

You need a manlier motorcycle, that's what you need.

For transparancies or no?
I've always been happy with the canon LiDE scanners. They're bus-powered so you could use them whereever with your laptop. You need to use Vuescan to unlock their ~hidden powers~ though.

i thought macs were supposed to be automaticly awesome at all things art, they dont take kindly to scanners?

They've taken kindly to everything i've ever hooked up to mine? Then again, there are some software that people make that can possibly interfere with the OS, but i've never run into this problem.

You sound drunk.

That's ironic; i don't even drink. It made complete sense to me.

Grammar's a little wonky. The question mark seems odd, and I think it should be "is" instead of "are." It's totally comprehensible, but kinda off.

Hmmm I suppose that's true. Okay then:

I suppose I could see certain older Macintosh's having software issues with some of the newer scanners, but I've never had any software issues myself, as long as everything stays up to date. better? :D
