It's not like there's a better way of carrying it in places where you can't go by car.

Whoa... but I fear the cost will be in 5-figure number @@

If I ever have the sort of money to afford such a thing, I'm also going for spring for two dwarfs to carry it around for me/ be my tripod on the go.

"F2.8 at 500mm focal length ? this is madness !!
-madness ? this is sigmaaaaaaa!!"

The specs are fucking orgasmic, but... who the fuck would lug that thing around?

Maybe I'm biased since I'm a photojournalist and favor portability, but man, come on.. having to maneuver this thing around, or even just pointing the damn thing at what you want to shoot and capturing it, would be extremely difficult and just not worth it.

Sports photographers. This would let you take a picture of the pores on a driver's nose from the other side of the Indianapolis speedway.

500mm isn't really powerful :P

Great for portraits though. I bet the bokeh would be lovely.

>It will be available in Sigma, Canon and Nikon mounts.

Fuck you too sigma!

Looks like fun for paparatzi as well, although I dont think you can use this on the back of a motorbike.

who cares, it's going to be so expensive that they could bundle 1D bodies with it as a free bonus.

Seconding the fuck you sigma. As a 4/3-user, I'd love to have a 2000mm/f5.6. Stabilized for handheld work, of course.

you can shoot with a 35 pound lens, handheld? that's pretty fucking impressive.

Protip: nobody who shoots Sony or 4/3 would drop $10,000+ buy this lens. Hence Sigma will not make it for them.
>> Macheath !8b4g0BkNZg
I'm guessing that there is a Humvee mount in place of a tripod mount.

Sony and Olympus are double niggers, so they don't get this kind of stuff.
>> Butterfly !xlgRMYva6s
True, sony doesnt have a body that can make use of these sort of lenses (yet). Ill wait to see what they think of the A900 to see if its worth making it for the dynax.

I'm quite sure this is the kind of lens which brakes the ground when hitting it, and not the other way around.
