I just dropped my camera with a nikkor DX 55-200mm lens on, the lens was extended and took the blow.Result, the mechanism for zoom and focus is screwed and the end is wobbly, not to mention the broken bits floating about inside.Do you think this will be hard to get fixed ? Given that i bought the lens new for £115 i dont want to spend too much on a repair:(
The repair will probably cost as much as the lense, if not more so, to the point where Nikon might not want to touch it.
wouldnt happen if you had a canon l lens. noob.
You're better off spending the repair money on the 55-200 VR, if you want a replacement. Otherwise, put it towards something high-end.
I dropped my D80 with 17-70mm DX. Result: Hood in pieces, paint scratched off a bit from UV filter...
It will probably cost the same to repair as to buy new one...
