Looks like an awesome lens but goddamn, I just checked amazon and it's 700 bucks.

BTW, the chapel looks surreal with an almost futuristic design. So...is the wedding all out of your pocket or does Uncle Sam chip in for any of it?

All out of pocket. It hurts my wallet so much I want to cry.
We visited 2 more churches yesterday before deciding on this one. I'll post a few pics of them if you'd like.

I feel ya, Timmy. But hey, it's a (hopefully) once in a lifetime thing, so you gotta do what you gotta do. Oh, and I thought the bride's parents were supposed to pay for that shit...

Damn, looking at these pics, I wanna be getting married in a place like this. Gotta go back to Japan ASAP. Oh and yeah, if you got any more cool pics of the chapel, go ahead and poast.

>Hey /p/, I'm getting married in April.
Man, I don't know how I'm gonna deal if I ever get married. So many photo opportunities, but it would be weird for the groom to walk the aisle snapping pictures...

Also, congrats. Now let's see s'more shots of the bride. Cute asian is cuuuute.

We're going to have a professional photographer with the wedding ceremony company do it, unfortunately, since it costs an arm and a leg.

Hmm, the bride... I've posted a few pictures of her before.

So you have both the 20D and the 30D, or only one of them?
>> Anonymous
Does your camera equipment cost less in Japan? Considering they develop everything there, although its still probably manufactured in China.
>> Anonymous !SDPEsPMnww

I borrowed her dad's 20D shortly before purchasing the 30D. The 30D is my first DSLR, but I had a Panasonic Lumix FZ-30 before that.

>>71808
No, it's usually the same price as in the U.S., or even higher. I bought the EF-S 10-20mm from a Japanese company for about $630 since it was the display model, and I bought all my other equipment through mail order in the U.S.

I'd love to go to Okinawa someday to visit my cousins. Beautiful beaches, I'm told.

Is that a real church or is it just one that is meant for having weddings in? As I understand, the Japanese in Japan love western style weddings.

In the distant, distant future when I get married, I'd prefer an old fashioned style church, but it looks like you'll have no trouble getting enough light to your camera in that little chapel.

Good luck man and semper fi.

Yes, yes, and yes. Okinawa an amazingly beautiful place when it isn't raining (and it rains a lot here). They have probably 10 or so of these "resort wedding" chapels throughout Okinawa, and many others throughout Japan and in Bali and Hawaii, among other places.

Thanks, semper fi.

well watch out for the harsh light. does bad things to clipping and dynamics. I hope your wedding photog shoots film :p
pro photographers cost a lot of money but theyre worth it.

anyway, congrats on the good lens, nice location and pretty bride. make sure you hang around here and post the photos later~

I have a question. How do I get my name as the "Photographer:" in EXIF? I have a Canon EOS 30D as well (my first camera, too), so that shouldn't be an issue.
>> Anonymous !SDPEsPMnww
>>71890
I installed the EOS Utility software and when I used the remote capture portion, I could open a little toolbar to edit the date and time, owner info, etc. stored in the camera.

i wasnt the person who asked the question but thanks anyways. youd think this kind of information would be easier to find.
