If given the choice between a holga or diana+, which would you choose? Or would you suggest any similiar cameras in the same price range?

I have no clue about cameras. I'm just trying not to mess up a boyfriend's gift.

From what I know the Holga has less options than the Diana F+ such as fixed focus but it comes with a flash while you have to pay more for a Diana flash.

Both are overpriced if you buy them new.

would buying a repurposed or original work with accessories if he wanted to go further?

Not sure about Holga but I think only the newest Diana can support the flash although I don't know about the other accessories.

Oh yeah by the way both these cameras use 120 medium format film and which is kinda expensive to buy and even more expensive to develop if you can even find a place to develop it.

I understand the cheaper and less trendy part, but I'm pretty sure the diana's and holga's flaws are what he's after. He has his quirks. -.-

not sure if you were saying the holga has fixed focus but it don't , fixed aperture and shutter though

i have a holga but i seem to think the diana photos look slightly more interesting , they are more expensive though

They are both overpriced and absolute junk marketed towards morons, especially hipster faggots. Pick either of them as it won't make a difference. They are so bad you could take a dump in a box and it wouldn't be any worse.

Oly XA is a fucking great camera.
Holga's lens is PLASTIC. XA's is GLASS, and it gives sharp images.
It's an automatic Apperture-priority camera. You can manually focus through a rangefinder and choose the ISO sensitivity.
It's very small and pocketable. Well constructed, solid, quiet.
It lacks full-manual operation, but it has a +1 exposure compensation.
Recommended! forget about that plastic shit.

I think the diana has more exposure control and can even be set to pinhole.
Dont' buy from lomography unless you really want the books. Loads of different kinds of Dianas on ebay for real cheap and you can get Holgas straight from Hong Kong.

BTW there are a few glass lensed Holga models about
