adding more bokeh? Anonymous
does anyone add more bokeh or make it stronger in Photoshop to enhance photos sometimes?

is this frowned upon because it's like adding vignetting, selective desaturation, unsharp mask?

i do it anyway because there's no other way to get more bokeh and i COULD do it if i had the right equipment for it

Lol kodak.

but yes, I do add some blur to the background, but not enough to notice it's an obvious amount that wasn't originally there (or could have been).

Don't confuse "blur" and "out of focus areas" with "bokeh".

KM/Sony 135STF 2.8T4.5 ftw. Doesn't look "natural" - at least not like a normal lens. But I think it looks amazing and I'll probably have one of these lenses adapted to Canon mount eventually. Perfectly applied photoshop should be able to get this effect - I think it's pretty close to a simple Gaussian blur.

Like any of those other things, if you do it very subtle, it can work. Most people do it way too heavy handed, and are too caught up in the technique and making a mediocre picture "better". When practicing, start with a photo that you're pleased with, and err on the side of what seems like too little.
