Wow price range difference on the Canon G9 is huge.

It's $460 at newegg, but I found one for $250 at this site:

Should I be worried? Could it possibly be used or refurbished?

Yes, you should be worried. Anything that far off of Newegg or Amazon is almost certainly gonna be a scam of some sort. Best case, they won't actually send you the camera unless they can talk you into buying $200-worth of accessories for $500 to go along with it.

Worst case, they take a shit in a box, send it to you, and completely disappear from the face of the planet with your money.

Not that any site with a lower price than Newegg's will be a scam, but a price that's obscenely low is like that for a reason.

What a lot of sites like that do is make you call them to order (or they'll call you before they send, etc.) That's when they make the switch. First they inform you that the camera you purchased is the gray-market Chinese version, but for just 80 dollars more you can upgrade do the "real" one. Then they harass you in to buying a bigger package and more shit.

I've been tempted to order from one of those places, pay the extra cash for the "real" camera and tell them to fuck off when they try to sell me accessories. Would probably still get fucked though, so it's probably not a good idea.

Look up reviews for specific vendors/sites (not the Froogle reviews) and you'll see that a lot of them use that type of operation.
