Hello /p/, What is the best camera on the market between a grand and $1500?

Thanks

No such thing as best, etc, All matter of preference, and shooting style, Lenses will easily bring that 1500 over budget,
Don't start any more best threads, And for fucks sake tell us what you like to take pictures of!

You're not going to get an easy answer with so broad a question. The sum of parts for a workable camera that costs less with a good lens selection can be in the range you're asking, or you can get a really expensive camera but taking pictures with the crap starter lens it'll come with...

There's too many factors to consider and the only variable you gave is money. It'd help your cause more if you could explain more of what you're looking for in the photography you're aiming to do.

Haha...

On a serious note, get into commercial product photography if you want to make money photographing inanimate stuff. No one gives a shit about what's lying in your room or on your desk unless it's a hot model. I don't imagine your room's lighting setup would be good for it though... not to mention the underlying circumstances of how said model would be there to start. ^_^

film or digital, and what format?

between a grand and 1.5 you can afford anything from a top notch film 35mm, to a semi-pro DSLR and some decent medium format cameras.

No. They sold all their pics for thousands of dollars because they could print something larger than an 8x10.

www.dpreview.com -- do some research

dpreview makes you stupid. avoid like the plague 'cept for the first page with all the technical specs. but ignore the technical specs too, because extra pixelz don't make you a better photographer.

besides, if you have to ask which camera is best for 1000-1500, you're probably not good enough for said camera and are likely more obsessed with gear than actual photos. spend a 100 bucks on a brick of Ilford and practice some moar with that 1980 whateverthefuck you have in your face. It'll do you loads better than a digital camera that'll go obsolete in a year.
