Sup /p/. I'm thinking of getting a digital camera to take some pics that are print wothy. [approx 8x11 prints most likely] My question is, what do you reccomend in terms of megapixels, shutter lag, and optical zoom? I'd prefer the price not to exceed 350 because if it gets anymore expensive I'm better upgrading from the standard point and shoot camera and going for an slr.

I think this sounds like a good idea, personally...

In answer to your actual question, though, shutter lag and optical zoom have nothing to do with the quality of your prints, and megapixels only just barely has an effect (seriously, you can only tell the difference between a 5MP and an 8MP picture at 8x11 if you've got a loupe and a hint).

Well....interestingly I planned on printing at 8x11 but thanks anywas I found a good deal on this particular camera in the pic and I'll go with that one. LSR is more for like...professional prints and I'm only going for something to deal with 2d design in an ap art portfolio
