Hey 4chan, I needz halp.
I've been designing websites for a long time and I really want to get back into photography. Aside from using 6mp Fujifilm "family-photos" digital cameras I have no experience of photography.

I would really like to get a camera of the likes posted here and get into macro photography etc. I have a £250 ($500 odd) budget.

Like I said, I'm a beginner but I've got a decent grasp of how cameras work.

What does /p/ think of suggesting to him a Used 350D or Nikkor equivalent?

Or maybe something even cheaper, and recommend splurging on lenses?

350D (Rebel XT, Yanks) would be great; it's the box that got me started with photography. It's easy enough to play with bu powerful enough to give nice photos. Slap a 50mm f/1.8 I (not the Mark II, it's a flimsy piece of junk) on there and you're set.

The 50/1.8 II is optically identical, and it costs half as much (new) as the original 50/1.8 sells for (used) on eBay.
