hay guys, I'm considering buying a Dslr for beginners, and as ofr now I'm pretty interested in the olympus e410, looks like good value for money. I'm a little worried about the 4/3 system though, haven't understood how it works and heard there is a limited range of lenses to cope with it. I'd greatly appreciate a word on that by anybody who's more ocmpetent tha myself (shuoldn't take much). thanks in advance.
In exchange I give you some random people & pigeons

Their lenses can be hard to get due to lack of stock at times. That's the main problem I've heard. The system does have good quality lenses at good prices, though.

It will likely be able to do all you need and more, much like any of the other DSLR systems out there. If you feel you are happy with it and it suits your need and budget best you'll not likley regret it. Even if you had a burning desire to upgrade to "full frame" pro style cameras in years to come the years of use you'll get and the jump in budget to tens of thousands would mean you're not going to regret spending a few hundred on getting your entry level kit.

With all the brands (Olympus, Nikon, Canon, Sony, etc.) they have their own systems that require their own brand or specially compatible third party lenses and other equipment. They are not generally compatible with each other.
