Fujifilm S700, is it any good for real photography? Or is it just a cheap SLR wannabe?

Depends on your photography style. It's fairly worthless for anything other than landscapes and portraits. Low light = fail. Manual focus is a lie, it doesn't really work. Good for dicking around, or taking somewhere you might not want to be seen with a large DSLR.
