Hey /p/haggots. I need some advice asap. I'm about to do free headshots for some random chick and I need some tips/pointers. I don't really have a studio so outdoors would be the only place I'd be able to do this.

They don't really seem that hard to do because I've done plenty of portraits but I'm just wondering because there are always little problems that pop up when you least need them amirite.

Protip: Aim for the head

Have a reflector so you can get light into their eyes, look out for hotspots on the face, be prepared to have people standing around and watching you (possibly taking a picture of you taking a picture, i've had that happen before), don't cut anything off at the joints, make sure she doesn't turtle (pull her neck back) and make sure she doesn't tense up so her mouth looks funny.

Good luck!

Ok good advice for the actual photo-taking but I've heard

>A professional photographer will be able to suggest wardrobe, different styles, different looks, etc

which is why actors don't go to walmart for their headshots.

I told her to just wear something nice and do her hair how she likes it...is that good? Also, what are places to consider or avoid for an outdoors background? I don't have a studio...yet :D

Just like giving her a cumshot. Get in real close, spray all over, and aim for her eyes.

that'll be fine- but are you doing a headshot, or full body portraits? most of the time you can barely see what they're wearing in headshots, which is why I said what I did. Yes any direction you can give her is good. Even better, hire a make up artist to do her MUA for you :)

but what you want to pay for/not, is up to yoU!
