lolsage for gear thread

So it looks like I'm going to need a film body for class this semester, and I think I'm going to take this opportunity to get a nicer film body. The K2 feels too junky and it has shutter problems sometimes (lower curtain doesn't open all the way, jammed somehow)

So...to eBay with me. Anything to look out for? Right now I'm keeping my eyes open for a K1000 and I'm currently bidding on a Miranda Sensorex.

Any Canons to watch out for? I'd love to find another camera that my 400D could share lenses with.

Pic related to Sensorex.

i had a rebel2000 as a hand me down and used that for my photo class. i liked how it felt, but the only other film cameras ive used were minoltas, which felt sturdier. but the pictures were good. ill try to look for a few prints and see if i can scan them.

Just buy another eos body, no use buying another 35mm camera system that you'll need to buy lenses for. Or grab a medium format camera

yeah, I'd prefer something like that. I'm still trying to get the Miranda just for the prism options and because they're cheap, but I mainly plan to carry it around for street stuff because of how easy it is to make it waist level.

Yeah, go for it. But browse the local craigslist first, i've seen a couple eos 1s for under that.

The k1000 isn't that nice of a camera, tons of people love it (including me) but if you want a nice body you should probably go for an Olympus Om-1. They're hard to get of ebay, so you're better off going to a used camera store.

<---- Olympus OM-1, better for a photography class than an elan because it's all manual and the teacher will probably want you to have a manual SLR

>>this is what i use, om1n actually. it's taken alot of abuse but runs smooth as a nigger

>>personally i think manual cameras suck, because i don't seem to understand it. don't listen to the guy recommending one, and get something automatic.

OP, don't get the Sensorex. It's a bad choice. OM1 would be really nice, so would a Miranda G or F be, if you for some reason want a Miranda.

What the fuck are you talking about? You can get om-1 bodies for $30 on ebay
