Bad idea to go cap-less with UV filter? Anonymous
What's up dudes, is it a bad idea to not use the lens cap if I'm putting UV filters on all my lenses?

I'm talking about storage in my bag while I'm out. My bag has a soft lining so I just put the lens and body facing down. Like from a sideways view, it's like a T, lens is down and body is up.

I don't really see any visible scratches on the filters. They're the coated Hoyas, like.. $20-50 a piece depending on size.

I just want to keep the cap off so I can pull it out and use the camera right away but I'll keep it on if it's a bad idea to go cap-less.

Do you have expensive UV filters? If yes, use cap, if no, dont use cap.

Also GURO! *fap*

No, they're $50 at most. I don't think they're high end.

Actually, I'll just put the body down and lens up.

Less chance of something breaking this way, I think. And the filter won't be touching anything. So problem solved.

basically it works like this, if you hae to ask, chances are your lenses werent top of the line. any artist, whether it be a photographer or musician, or whatver, can make great things with crap. and if you suck, well youll suck on a 6000$ cam too. point is, dont worry so much about lil scratches and minor shii, and worry about making great pictures.
oh and i usually dont eer have my lens caps one :P, hope i helped
