Need some advice Anonymous
Ok /p/ I'm taking the dive tomorrow and ordering a clack xti kit from amazon (610$). Anyway, cause my ass is broke, can I use the 4gb Hitachi microdrive from this mp3 player i have sitting around i barely used? Its compact flash form factor, and I read online they work... Anyone have any experience with these? Also I want to do mostly low-light photography at clubs/raves/whatever, should I save up for the 50mm 1.4, or just go with the 50mm 1.8?

Yes you can use the Microdrive, but CF cards can be bought for a pittance now.

The 1.4 is better optically and in build quality, but the 1.8 is much cheaper. Which i the better choice of lens is up to you (and your shooting style to some extent).

I advice you to get the XT instead of the XTi and save your broke ass for some new CF cards with higher I/O speeds.

Thanks for the advice guys, I'm planning on buying a fast cf card next check, I'll just use the microdrive to hold me over for 2 weeks.
