Soup /p/

I want a new lens. Can /p/ tell me the difference between the Sigma 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 DG IF Macro Aspherical Lens for Nikon SLR Cameras, and the Tamron 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 XR Di LD Aspherical Macro Ultra Zoom Digital Lens for Nikon SLR Cameras??

uh, I guess they both kinda suck (massive zoom range + cheap = fail)

also, I hope you got a film camera

I have an N75(film)+kit lens and a D80 +kit lens w/ a 50mm f/1.8 and 85mm f/1.8

The only real answer is the Nikkor 18-200 VR.

If you intend to put it on your N75, get the Tamron, it's the same shit but built a bit better.
If you intend to put it on the D80, get some 18-XXX mm lens instead; 28mm on 1.5x crop is too narrow for a versatile lens.

Well, that's all only if you're sure you need a superzoom lens; the quality may disappoint you compared to your existing ones (if D80 kit lens is a 18-55, not 18-135)

OP again. I've been reading reviews and apparently it's slow, and doesn't have clear crisp pictures, so it's pretty much out the window... unless the reviewers are just idiots who have their camera on the auto setting. Since I have 4 lenses right now and I JUST bought the 85mm f/1.8 I'm holding off on lenses for a while, the next is going to be a big zoom or a macro, but my next purchase will most likely be either the SB600 or SB800. Picture related.
