What camera? Aaden
Hi /p/!

I'm a budding amateur photographer looking to upgrade my hobby. My previous experience has been with a Nikkon D100 (6.1 mp i believe), and I'm looking to get a newer, but still affordable camera to begin taking pics with.

My primary area of interest is the female form and in particular fetish photography.

What suggestions would you make as far as camear?

(The included shot was with my nikkon coolpix 3.2 mp camera. Lame camera, i know, but I think the shot is not bad)

What is your budget?

D100 is fine simply because you felt the need to state the megapixel count of your cameras.

D200/300

the d100 is a powerful decent camera. why do you feel the need to upgrade? get a hotshoe for your camera, maybe a nice lens and some flashes hooked up and enjoy some fetish pictures. remember, lenses are a much much better investment than a new body.

The D100 should do fine, but IIRC there were several important upgrades between it and the D200. I'm not going to bother checking DP Review. OP can do that and decide if it's for him.

the D100/D200/D300 are all fantastic cameras.

stick with the d100 untill you really need a new body, eg it breaks.

instead of spending more money on equiptment why dont you just go take more and more pictures or do some research on on contemporary photographers. Youll get a LOT more out of that then just simply buying a new lens or two.

In this day and age of developing photography, you're better off spending your money between a decent body and a set of really good lenses - spending money on a million dollar body and only dodgy lenses is always gonna be your bottleneck.

The D100 will be more than enough for your entry level though.

your D100 is better than anything you will be able to afford if you sell it.
