broke or normal? Anonymous
just wanted to check wether the following is normal or wether my dlsr needs to be fixes.
it is a quite new 350 from sony and the first dlsr i bought.
so, every now and then when i have a picture with long exposure, i can hear some slight "squeaks". now my guess is, that´s the intigrated stabilizer.
i just wanted to know wether i´m supposed to hear that, or wether that implies that something is broke

your guess is right.

I have an a100 and it (and all the other Alpha series) "whine" when you have SSS on and it's a long exposure. However, if it's on a tripod you're supposed to turn it off cause it can actually introduce more vibrations.

in short: normal sound. if on tripod turn IS off.

allright, thanks
i was quite shure that it was the stabilizer, i just didnt know wether it´s supposed to make sounds ;)

usually, when using a tripod i dont hear it at all (nothing to stabilize i guess ;) ) but yeah, turning it off might be the smarter move
