4mb files? Are you fucking kidding? Resize that shit.

Shut up or put up. It's not like anyone's forcing you to view them, lol.

>>68168
It's a nice way to have nobody look at your shitty HDR photos. Keep on failing.
>> Anonymous
>>68169
They look like rather nice pictures but I'm not going to put up with opening it.
They could be half that size and still be very detailed. There's basically no reason for a photo to be more than 2MB unless you want to print a mural on your wall.

Cry more dipshit.

These are great. The whole eerie nature of these photographs is magnificant -- well done.

Someone who both have the internet speed and artistic sense required, at last.
>> Anonymous
You made me google HDR because I'm a n00b. I thought it stood for High Definition Resolution, which makes sense considering how giant your files are.
But it actually stands for High Dynamic Range. Basically, it means it's when you take several different photos of the same thing but with different exposures, digitally combine the photos the way you like, which makes it so you can get the perfect exposure artificially.
Interesting concept actually, and I liked the examples wikipedia gave. Some really stunning photography done as a result, although it's almost as much computer generated as it is real.
Makes me wonder if all the best photos I ever saw were done this way...
if I had the technology I'd do it. I can see that an issue your having is that you're letting a whole lot of noise and distortion get into the final picture, but I know nothing about how to fix it.

In order to get the most depressing kind of photo you need to make some adjustments that'll increase the noise and distortions level, but it might also be because I use a normal digicam, and not a DSLR.

Oh and most pro photographers use RAW when the shoot, so they can alter the raw image data by hand on a PC, so I'd say the most stunning images are from RAW images taken by pros instead of HDR.

But just comparsion I'll show you how HDR can look without exaggerating the levels.

I ALMOST liked this image, and then i couldnt be bothered letting it load for another few minutes.

u dont need any special technology, a point & shoot digicam (in principle even scanned images from a film camera) and some software (photomatix and/or photoshop) is enough.

I like HDR but so many are using it now, it will become s/th like raytracaing a silver ball over a checkered square, or taking a snaphsot of yourself in the bathroom for myspace. like, overdone.

how "special effects" killed photography
>> Anonymous
HDR blows. Most people use it because they think that somehow an overused and hyped-up photoshop effect will make their shitty, amateur pictures artsy and sophisticated. Take the pic of the parking lot and the road. What is this picture showing? It's nothing. It's just a quick walk-by snapshot taken only so this guy could fuck with the sky and make it look "deep" and "meaningful."

Learn to take good photographs before shopping them.

agreed. Pictures arent that great just shopped to hell.
>>68160
isnt even done that well. Try taking good pictures and not relying on shooping for a majority of the work.

Why do I get the feeling that /p/ is a purist type of board where even the slighest modification to a photo till be shunned beyond words? Sure, people like the OP might be noobs when it comes to photographing, but I honestly believe that most people on this board ain't exactly "pros".

Experimenting with different effects while learning at the same time is not a bad thing to do, at least it's creative as opposed to all the 9999 sunrises and close-ups on flowers.
>> Anonymous
>>68538
even though he is a noob the only real way to learn is by taking pictures and looking at them when they are in their original state, evaluating them and figuring out what he needs to do to take a better photo.

No its not a bad thing to do, showing off every shitty experiment on a photography board IS a bad thing to do.

Thats what deviantart and freewebs are for, shitty tweeners who think theyre making art when all theyre doing is discovering the plastic wrap filter or a lenseflare.

I almost read that post, and then I couldn't be bothered.

Colors are sometimes what makes a photo stand out. I don't like the composition either, though.

no, you clearly read it. you fail for trying too hard to sound cool and edgy on the internets.

No shit, sherlock. Since you didn't get it, I'll make myself clearer: complaining about the size of an image is stupid when no one asked you to open it in the first place.

Yeah, it is. You posted these here for people to view them, yes? Logic tells me that I'm correct. If you haven't been here long (it's obvious that you haven't been), people here don't like shitty HDR images (such as the ones you posted) nor huge fucking images that take forever to load because 4chan is a laggy piece of shit. Simply resize them to no larger than 1600x1200 and we're good. Otherwise, you're a faggot emo that needs to fucking lurk moar.

lemme get this straight. to take photos like these "HDR"s you just need to set the ISO low?
