Theres at least 1 thing that I love about this picture.
>> Anonymous
I wish it was sharper. It would look really good in better lighting, if the sun was out more. But it's still a cool shot and a nice idea. The girl is smoking too. I'd love to eat those boobies with some fiava beans and a nice chiante.

Same poster as>>44763

I did an edit and a crop. Changed the colors around, mixed with the contrast and fixed the crop. I think there was too much blank space on the edges of the photo.

Nice shoopin', and I apologize for the quality of the shot, that's just straight from the camera, after a resize.
>> Anonymous
How long did it take to set up this shot? It doesn't look all that hasty. What's the story?
>> Anonymous
>>44766
Fix colors, do not crop.
>> heavyweather !4AIf7oXcbA
>>44772
Actually, the whole point -was- being hasty, heh. It looks about like you'd imagine it. We would spring out into the middle of the street as soon as the light turned red, set everything up, take 3-4 frames, and then run off with all the props. We asked a civic engineer down at the Capitol how long the lights took to change, precisely, in our area. "27 seconds" was the response. So, we had 27 whole seconds. That's like forever! :D

This is one I took from a bridge half a block back. 200mm lens to the rescue! It's like some kind of sick take on Abbey Road, heh.

>> Jeremo
Love this shot ahha, i agree with the mixing of the colours but the crop... kinda messed up the shot, made it too tight, the open spaces are nice and adds to the feel of the shot, just in the outdoors enjoying the sun haha.

I'm really tempted to get a few friends and do a similar shot where i'm from...

Then... maybe... just maybe... we can start our first /P/ project.

It shall be dubbed "The Urban Beach /P/roject."

Though it might not be as big of an impact as those yellow killer umbrellas, but it would be good.

I don't agree with the resize OR the level changes. The original has a lovely warm tone which suits the carefree mood in the scene. Changing the levels makes it look sterile.

Don't have a car, don't need one. How about you faggot cyclists learn to obey the law instead of obstructing traffic.
>> Anonymous
>>45186

Up here in Portland the local Nazi Radio Show is Lars Larsen raging about bicyclists. I take it that anything ecofriendly is part of the Communist Plot to poison us with flouide and tax weepublicans.
Ignore them, once we take power we'll eat them....<s>
>> Anonymous
we are traffic
>> Anonymous
>>45220
Tell that to the department of MOTOR vehicles. Get your ass back on the sidewalk where you belong.
>> Anonymous
>>45237
i'm not aloud on the sidewalk!!!
>> ac
>>45220
If you're traffic, you're obligated to obey the damn traffic laws. I.e., stop at stop signs/lights, yield when appropriate, etc. You don't. Critical mass rides just take the fuck over and fuck anyone unlucky enough to get in their way.
>> Anonymous
>>45244
Yet it gets the point across.
>> elf_man
I grew up riding my bike in the street, under careful instruction from my dad. I've found traffic laws to be much more important if you're on a bike, due to traffic being more dangerous for the cyclist. It always pisses me off to see cyclists doing stupid shit on the street, cause I know how easy it is for them to get killed, and how it sets a bad image for the rest of us. And unless it's official, I can't see how something like critical mass helps, cause it'll just piss off more drivers.
>> Anonymous
>>45244
Why should bicycles have to obey those laws? A bicycle can't kill anyone; a car can. Yes, critical mass events that go through stoplights, etcetera do violate the law. That's irrelevant, though, because no one is in any danger by them doing so.

>>45270
Cyclist's own risk.
Honestly, I think traffic laws as a whole- for cars and other vehicles- are really unnecessary. If someone does do something that kills someone, charge them with manslaughter, if they damage property, charge them with vandalism, etc. No need to have another layer of laws in place for behaviors harming no one; the deterrent effect of prosecution for harm will prevent people from doing things that harm people.
>> Anonymous
>>45273
because if a car tries to avoid hitting a bicyclist he can easily put other cars/people in danger as well.
if someone goes when they arent supposed to and another car hits them and kills them, why would you charge that person with manslaughter when they other person wasnt supposed to go? not having traffic laws is stupid. its the little things that cause the big things.
>> Anonymous
>>45276
So why not have a huge layer of preventative laws over other things? Do you support banning guns to prevent murder, banning locksmithing tools to prevent break-ins, and that sort of thing.

I'm going to assume not. How is banning driving in a certain way to prevent deaths and injuries any different?

You charge the person at fault, the person who caused the whole thing. In the case you mentioned, it would be the cyclist. The other people involved could sue him in civil court, too.
>> Anonymous
>>45278
you couldnt charge the cyclist if there werent laws banning the small things. if there was no law saying you arent allowed to cross the street while traffic was coming then the cyclist wasnt at fault.
>> Anonymous
>>45279
Have a set of procedures for determining who is at fault when something happens.

If a cyclist crosses the street through traffic, and nothing happens, why should he be considered as having done something wrong?

If, on the other hand, he cross the street and a driver swerves to avoid him and crashes into another car, THEN police would investigate and use a code- perhaps even one identical to the current traffic laws- to determine who was at fault.

All I'm arguing is that if no negative effects come from an act, then that act is not wrong, and if it is not wrong, it should not be illegal.
>> Liska !!LIVFOETqL8j
This whole debate is insane and stupid. I dont' care if you're on a bike, or in the car, FOLLOW THE DAMN RULES SO EVERYONE'S SAFE. I don't care if something "wrong" is done, and no one gets hurt, blahblahblah nothing happens. Those rules are in place SO nothing happens.
>> Anonymous
>>45280
It's simple.
Negative effect - obstruction of traffic
Cause - cyclists
Critical Mass - illegal

Follow the goddamn law. If you want to ride, fine, then make a legally recognized organization and do it by the books, along with a police escort, etc.
>> Anonymous
>>45293
a police escort? it's not a fucking parade.
>> Anonymous
>>45305
Oh it's not? Well then, why do motorcycles get a police escort when they do group rides? Oh, I know! So traffic knows that they have to wait because permission was granted to ignore general traffic laws, otherwise the group would get separated! Or are you that fucking retarded?
>> Anonymous
>>44766
1. I liked the warmer tones better.
2. I think it would have worked better if the girl wasn't aware of the photographer.
>> Anonymous
>>45286

1. A set, absolute list of commands and prohibitions gives implicit license for drivers to do anything -within- the law, regardless of whether it is dangerous or not. People drive dangerously all the time, without breaking a single law.

2. On the other hand, general punishment for anything that causes an accident would act as a deterrant, and people would actually drive better, and less things would happen.
