I picked up a polaroid camera recently for shit and giggles because I use to use them a lot but ended up losing it when I moved.

Recently I found out they're going to stop producing the film for it but it's such an awesome camera, what's a good alternative or even, is there any way I could still get use out of the camera?

Buy a shit ton of film?

Doesn't that crap have a expiration date or something?

Fujifilm still makes instant color film. You might be able to get some thats compatible.

unless progress has been made, they don't have a license from Polaroid to do so and so you'd need one of their cameras instead

yeah it does plus it's $15 for 10 photos.
I don't want to waste money but at the same time I want to get the most I can out of this.

fuck fujifilm,
I don't understand why polaroid would stop production.
I know a lot of people who still use their cameras.

i thought a company already bought rights to make the film again.

The only reason Polaroid would have stopped producing film is if it wasn't profitable enough, meaning sales were too low and production cost were too high to turn enough of a profit. This shit isn't fucking rocket science.

yeah, no shit asshole. I'm just saying from my point of view they seemed popular enough.

They did. You know, like, before cameras had an inbuilt LCD panel.

I think Ilford were in talks with Polaroid soon after they stopped producing it, but quickly realised they'd simply lose money from it.

well I really hope something gets done, I was looking forward to using this camera in the future.

Yeah, because your point of view means shit. ALL MY FRIENDS HAVE PENTAX DSLRS, I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW CANON OUTSELLS THEM!

Not that it'll help, I doubt the novelty/retro appeal of Polaroid is enough to make it commercially viable.

Ilford was in talks but decided against it. Fuji was never a serious possibility, why would they buy into an instant film system when they have their own? It's like if Canon went belly-up, do you think Nikon would buy the EOS system and keep making them?

Better, classic example: Pauline Kael didn't know anyone who voted for Nixon.
