Well, I wouldn't turn it down if you gave it to me. That way, I could trade it in for a real lens for a real camera.

(Firkin' red stripes, gimme a break!)...

In addition to their rangefinders, Leica markets two incompatible lines of SLRs.

>>118553
But they have adapters! (Which cost like $200, lol)
>> Anonymous
>>118553
Or rather, they market one SLR with amazing lenses to go with it (including>>118524) and hideous, strange-looking bodies, and one that's just an old model Panasonic four-thirds SLR restyled to look even more like an M rip-off.

I'm not sure one can call either of them "lines;" there's only one R-mount camera in production at any given time, and the "D system" is pretty much dead. They ran a promotion where they would do something like throw in free adapters and a pair of binoculars if you bought one and some R-mount supertelephoto, both of which were discounted very much in the deal, if I remember right.

I don't think too many people went along. They ought to scrap the R bodies and sell the lenses in different mounts and focus their camera-making on the M system. And the D system and the rebadged point and shoots need to go, obviously.

I'm surprised they don't push more of their lenses for the bigger SLR mounts.

Leica prides itself on being above the petty squabbles of the other camera makers, and so pretends they don't exist.

This is why they almost went bankrupt a couple years back. It wasn't the first time either.
