I really like it, much better than what I can do

Mine just come out abit "meh" for lack of a better word. Try cigarette lighters, you know the plastic transparent ones, they're pretty good too.
Also solarization works wonders with them.

How the hell have you been using darkrooms for two years without knowing what a photogram is?

You might also know them as Rayographs if you enjoy sucking Man Ray's man-ray.

How did you get the texture on the paper? Whenever I've done photograms, the background is totally black.

You cannot be a 2nd year dark room user, I saw shown how to do a photogram before I was even allowed near a camera.

It's been about 10 years since I did a photogram, but I think you can use wax paper.

"A photogram is a photographic image made without a camera by placing objects directly onto the surface of a photo-sensitive material such as photographic paper and then exposing it to light. The result is a negative shadow image varying in tone, depending on the transparency of the objects used. Areas of the paper that have received no light appear white; those exposed through transparent or semi-transparent objects appear grey"

your welcome.

This clearly shows what's wrong with photography education. Even at the art academy where I study, photography classes are shit. I study film, and even I know more about the darkroom then third year photography students. I had to explain to them what contrast grade is. Pathetic.
