I like it but...
Somethin looks funny.
I'd work on evening out the bottom corners a bit, maybe the sky as well, it could help it.

I agree with what the previous anon said. I like it, but something seems a bit off about it, but I don't really know what.
>> Anonymous
thank you, it was through a dirty car window though so yes there's some marks and stuff, like the lighter patch on the right side near the horizon etc, the sky's not an even color too i notice which i could fix. and as i think you were saying the lower half is too dark for the sky maybe?

I think it's mostly just the corners don't fit with the image, especially the bottom corners.
>> ZV
Looks liek a holga pic to me, the way the corners darken slightly.
(yes i haev read the exif faggots)

thanks for the edit, I think i prefer it, not totally sure though. i'm using a little 10" screen so it's kinda hard to edit pics on it haha. thanksss

Agreed. I like the crop a lot more.

you've cut the picture in half with this crop across the horizon and it make it ....well something wrong about it.

i suggest he uses the "two thirds sky" rule like i have in this crop. its just better.

would have worked if he shot in portrait

your clearly new. shut up please

were getting into a crop of a crop territory. it can never end well.
>> Anonymous
>>241984
I think the first cut was better.

I mean the coolest part of the picture is the hills, so to just fill it with the sky kind of defeats the entire point.

I think some sort of uh...`un-vignette` post work would work better than cropping the photo. This is a case where having the horizon at the halfway point actually looks good, it's just the way the corners darken makes the hills look funky.

centered horizion + fake medium format crop = win?

Nothing wrong with using a square crop if it suits it.

haha there's still posts. I hadn't posted this before to the person who was wondering. I tend to agree with a lot of the things people say on /p/ especially the things they aren't keen on photo-wise. but i've never agreed with the centered horizon dislike. I mean it's a totally curvy, wonky hill. isn't the non center horizon rule intended to make common general pictures more interesting where people just take snaps of their street or whatever? i think the two thirds sky option is fine, but i like the field/hills so cutting out most of them just seems like a bit of a "waste" i guess
>> Anonymous
rule of thirds on landscape does work if you WANT a balanced picture. Air = light; Ground = heavy; means you need more air than ground to balance it. But you don't HAVE to use it if you for example want to give the viewer an impression how heavy something is.
>> Anonymous
I think it's a really nice pic. Clean it up a bit like you said and it will be great.

Hey guys, I was the one that made the centered horizon crop. I just hit /p/ again and was surprized to still find this post active and couldn't help chiming in again. I'm not to technical with my photos or editing, but one thing that i find it odd that no one has pointed out is that one great reason the center horizon crop works is because the sky/ground colors are NOT that far away from one another. if the sky would have been solid blue in comparison to a black or brown hill, i don't think it would have worked. . . just a thought.
