What lens is this guy shooting with? I'm not familiar with Canon lenses. This was from a Gnomon Workshop DVD and I'm curious to know what he used for his reference shots.

hmmm thats a doozy...

hes got the hood on backwards, and what looks like a screw on tele-photo extender with a circ pol or ND grad on the front of that... :S

seems like a nutjob IMO

It's a niggerlens.
>> Anonymous
it just looks like a zoom lens that is zoomed in. That wide part could be an attachment for an extension or filter that doesn't move with the zoom

from the hood

17-40

but it looks like it's extending, so no

I remember seeing another lens like it on /p/ maybe a week ago or so. The only thing I could find that at least looks like it. Pic maybe related.

Um it could be the 24-70mm L fully extended. But if that is true, the lens hood that he has on there is wrong, it's a wide angle hood.

Pic defenitely not related.
The 'bulge' on that pic is just the shutter, designed like a large format lens (even though at 50 f/.7 theres no way it'd cover anything but 35mm).
The bulge on the canon is smooth, and...on second look...
This looks like one of the DO lenses on it with a shitty rubber lens hood which is in it's folded position.
Pretty confident of that.

I wanted to disagree because I think you're a faggot but yeah, looks like a 24-70 with the wrong hood.

Still looks a bit too short for a 24-70. Maybe 24-105.

That's still the wrong hood for the 24-105.

not the 24-105, no IS.

I'm finally being a recognized tripfag! woooot!

Why? The buttons are always on the left side of the lens..
>> $19.99 !OSYhGye6hY
>>178275
hmmm yeah my mistake, still could be 24-105. It's weird that he'd have the wrong hood for it though, since the lens comes with one.

Still think it's a 16-35 hood on a 24-70, but no red ring. Though the serial number thingy on the hood suggests it's a rental - maybe blacked out the red ring for some reason.

Rental gear, photog doesn't know which piece fits on which?

>>178315but no red ring

reversed hoods cover the ring
>> Anonymous
so, 24-105?
>> Anonymous !SDPEsPMnww
>>178747so, 24-105?
It can't be. The hood goes on the extending part of that lens.

>>178315Still think it's a 16-35 hood on a 24-70
Agreed. The hood attaches to the main part of the lens on the 24-70, not to the extending part. This is the best possible match.

waaay too short for a 24-70, it's huge

It's a 24-70L with a 16-35/17-40L hood reversed on it. Retarded.
