Most of the gear threads are for beginners, or people getting into their first DSLR. There is so much to choose from it seems normal to ask advice...

I don't really see that many gear threads about what the article is on. Good article though.

was quite interesting to read, though ive come to realise how much of a gearhead i was becoming from too much DPR...

anyone notice the 3 sample pics in the article are technically "beyond" the level of simplicity he is so admiring in his last example?
Off camera strobe's / lights for first shot.
Second one requires a helicopter or plane
3rd shot is a longer wide aperture lens with a shallow DOF that couldn't be shot with a P&S.
