Powershot S5IS Kite
What is a good place (site) to purchase lens attachments or filters for a Canon Powershot S5IS?

58mm

I am mostly looking for an inexpensive wide angle filter or lens. (Fisheye?)

Enjoy degrading your already shitty image quality.

Get a DSLR.

They've got lens adaptors that go to 52 or 58 mm, plus various lens enhancers, filters, tripods, and so on.

I'm in Australia and they delivered no problem, fairly quickly too.

Get a clue. The Raynox lens enhancers I bought, the 1540 1.54x and the 2025 2.2x, did nothing to degrade the image quality of the photos I took with my S5 - the pictures, compared to my D90, kind of sucked anyway and the lens adaptors did nothing but give me more range.

The pic is Tangalooma Resort on Moreton Island, about 20.4 kilometres from where I was standing on Bribie Island, no tripod, with the Raynox 2025.

... what ... the hell ... am i actually supposed to be looking at something? it looks like it came off a camera phone.

your pic is the perfect example ... stop wasting money on lens attachments. you're not going to get any closer to that island by attaching a piece of warped plastic to the front of your point and shoot.

i have yet to see an attachment that can't be solved by either
1) taking a step back
2) take a step forward
3) choosing a filter in photoshop

thinking you'll get anything more (ei great telephoto shots out of my point and shoot when i'm on vacation) is the type of uninformed fantasy that industry lives on.

Granted, a lot of that suck is just plain haze and not a problem with the converter per se, and he seems to hae landed the focus somewhere in the middle of the ocean.

Which isn't to say you're not right.
