needs one of a number of possible things:
either
-no flash
-bounce flash
-diffuse the flash.

The lighting and shadows are much too harsh and the highlights on the cat's muzzle are blown out from it.

thanks for your input, I shot this while my cat was in the bathtub and the lighting is a low wattage fluorescent. also i'm thinking maybe i finished with a bit too much contrast.

Think it'll look great with a diffused flash.

And please, spare your cat the harsh light - poor kitty, his goggles do nothing! :(
