<rant>

why does everyone bawwwww about having to manual focus a shot. its not hard. in fact i think it makes photography more fun and challenging.

if you have to rely on the camera doing all the shit for you then you need to GTFO

How about concentrating on your framing?
How about moving objects?

Sure, you can manual focus the fuck out of your fruitbowl, but have you ever tried to MF a hare?

I don't consider f/2.8 fast.

I'll grant you the 200 f/2.0
>> heavyweather !4AIf7oXcbA
>>148514
Don't expect them to get any faster in coming days, now that we can boost ISO to 25,600. We're pushing the limits of physics at this point. Nikon is into making great zooms, and one of the limitations of a zoom design is that you can't get faster than f/2.8 without exponentially increasing cost, size, and weight.

Besides, f/2.8 will do the trick in 95% of situations. For those other situations, you've got to fall back to your handful of fast primes. Nikon needs to update those suckers to AF-S.

Now you're just being silly.

>>148518
That, or people need to stop using a faggotcam like the D40, Heavy. Easier to fix one camera model than revise a bunch of lenses for the new niche they created.
>> M/A !n21TE7QU8U
>>148518
No. Nikon just needs to go back to building AF motors in their cameras.
>> ac !!VPzQAxYPAMA
>>148519
Hey, my crappy little pocket camera has an f/2.8 zoom lens. I consider 2.8 to be, you know, baseline.

I know, I'm spoiled by my 50mm f/1.8 and my 35mm f/2.0. But... I'm on a system where I can have a 50mm f/1.8 and 35mm f/2.0 to be spoiled by. :-P
>> Anonymous
>>148519
I'd call it moderate. It's a bitch to shoot at f/2.8 indoors sometimes. There's times where f/1.4 will only pull you something like a twentieth or thirtieth of a second at 3200.
