I went to NYC a few days ago and took some picts inside St. Patrick's Cathedral. I took over 75 shots but this is the only one that I thought was halfway decent. (there was a amss going on at the time) Whadda think?

What's with the hostility? There's absolutely nothing wrong with the shot.

Good shot, OP.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with the shot if it were taken with a P&S.

fix'd

Btw there's a couple of dead pixels in your camera ;-)

The OP shot is decent after all, but it is using inferior lenses on a $1500 body. (If not then why the fuck F5?)

ISO 1000 means a compromise was made to get that F5, so either a faster lens, or a tripod was needed.

Lenses are more important than the body, as most of us on here will tell you.

the correct thing to do would have been iso1600. and not suck at cameras.

OP here: I used a 18-55 POS lens because dumbass me went on vacation and accidentally left my 50mm 1.8 at home...

ISO1600 was WAY too grainy. I tried the shot at 800 1000 and 1250 and I think the 1000 came out the best. Here's 800.

What a waste of D200. It's like seeing a monkey wearing a beautiful Jaeger-LeCoultre watch.

would have been cooler with a vertical contrast...the crosses threw the whole damn thing off...think more out of the box

Because photographing something is approving of it?

Christianity made and makes a right mess of the West, spiritually and intellectually, but that doesn't negate the beauty of a piece of art just because it's "Christian."

If he had shooped out the cross and put in a Buddha statue instead- a perfectly plausible scene- you'd only be bitching if you're Christopher Hitchens.

Funny how so many of these people claim to be atheist, yet all they are is anti-Christian. You're right, if it were any other religious symbol, no one here would bitch.

I'm atheist and anti-Christian/Muslim/Jewish. Most other religions are relatively peaceful, but those three are the most ignorant.
