Hey.

I'm looking into starting photography.

I have a budget of about 400$.

I asked a while ago here and was told to get a Lumix FZ18, but after looking around for a while I found the FZ28, which is basically the same but the revamped version, and I figured it might be the way to go.

Thoughts?

Is it a good camera to get started with?

I dont want a P&S and I'm not terrorized by the different settings that I might have to deal with.

I dont think I can though. I dont live in the US, I live in a shithole country where we can only get dollars from the black market, and those 400$ I have soon become 600$ with the markup that salesmen put on 'em.

Still, I might do it if it's really worth it...

I f you don't mind used equipment, Get yourself a Nikon D50, D70s or other late-gen DSLR. You'll be a lot more satisfied.
