Any news on this one?

I think the price will be somewhere around $1000 because anything over that wouldnt get these sold but in the other hand production costs and small production amounts wont allow these to be less than that.

However I would love to see this one in sub $1000 category. That way I could afford to get one.

No, it's one of the smallest MF film cameras you're likely to see. Fuji 6x7.

It's not small at all compared to a lot of MF film cameras.. I doubt they will actually make it. It's just a tease, or they'll make a few for extraordinary prices.. :/

If they were to make this one i bet there would be many film photographers out there to buy one. There is still a market for film cameras even though normal consumers are not interested in buying one.

It would be shame to learn that they made this one just to tease and get some attention.

Most probably Japan-only (like some of Fuji's cameras in the past... Klasse, Natura, etc). Obviously aimed at professional portrait photographers, since they still use MF film cameras in weeabooland.

True, but film photographers is still a small market for a big company.

Not only in Japan though. MF is still a great choice for portrait work.

Buy a used folder. Mine might actually be on sale soon.

Yeah, even as folding rangefinders go it's a pretty average size.

What folder do you use?

That may be the case, but very few professional portrait photographers in the US are still using film. Very few Japanese professional photographers are using digital. Film still reigns supreme there, and the manufacturers tend to release a lot of film (particularly retro-styled) gear that they have no intention of marketing in the US where only 9 people would buy them.

A Hongmei HM-1. There's little to no info on the net about it so don't bother looking.

6x6 with folding doors for 645, no rangefinder, though it's done up to look like it has one with a thick top plate, 75/4.5 lens in a B-200 shutter, dead self timer but otherwise reasonably accurate, no leaks, nice leatherette, nice chrome top, lever wind and top mounted release. Wow that was a weird sentence.

I'm thinking of getting rid of it because I don't do well with that whole scale focusing thing, especially with a standardish lens. The fact that I'm kinda burnt out on the whole paying money to get film developed thing doesn't help either. Any money I earn from it goes towards a 35/1.4 Nokton or a real MF/LF rig.

I suppose I'd sell it if a decent offer came round, but then shipping from Hong Kong will probably be a bitch. Comes with a Praktica half case that happens to fit it okay (and gives it strap lugs).

Pic related, flash not included.

In europe MF is still pretty big as well, and LF still reigns supreme among pro photographers. At least that's the case in the Netherlands / Belgium.

No rangefinder sucks big time though. I think I'll stay with my rolleiflex and RB67, haha.
