I recently purchased a Panasonic Lumiz FZ-8 camera. The thing works wonderfully, feels better in the hand than any other camera I've shot with, and so on.

There is a two-faceted issue, though, on the software end. First, as is common knowledge, the JPEGs lack sharpness because of an overly aggressive noise reduction algorithim built into the camera.

Second, there is no Adobe-produced Photoshop driver for its RAW files. The only way, apparently, to work with it in RAW is to use the bundled "Silkypix Developer Studio." This program in question is a piece of shit.

Does /p/ know of any third-party Photoshop drivers or another program that can deal with FZ-8 raw files?

Sorry, typo. "Lumix."

I was under the impression that Adobe Camera Raw 4.0 supports the FZ8. Get the latest version of the ACR plugin and see if that fixes it.

I didn't realize there was a 4.0. Searching for "raw driver" in the Adobe knowledge base only brings up 3.7, which doesn't support it.

Link, plox.

Nevermind, I found it.

Why they link to 4.0 but only mention 3.somethingorother is beyond me.

This is why your camera sucks.
