I could spend $2500 to get an HD Video Camera and not have a good DSLR, or I could spend $1600 for a D90 with a good lens and have a good DSLR still camera and an option to shoot some HD Video.
For all major video projects, I'd probably just rent equipment anyways, as not being a cinematographer, DP, or camera operator, I don't have much use for a video camera 48 weeks of the year.
