Natural light and photoshop. If it's just modeling pictures, I'm sure you won't need anything more that those. Good luck on that shoot, Anon!

Studio like lighting requires flash, a diffusion umbrella and white/black backdrop (to isolate the model) for the best results. There's also pointing your flash somewhere else and having it bounce.

The best cost effective way to get awesome pictures is just to go outside during dusk or dawn and use the Non-Harsh lighting during those times.

kk so the modeling agency dont want the photos to be touched in PS other than resize..

the subject wants the photos taken around 5:00PM..

so that makes it a little harder..

Yep. Though even if you have to shoot during high noon or something, just photoshop some levels around, use shadows, anything.

Do you reckon i can get away with modifying the picture in photoshop without them really noticing?

dont shoot him while you're standing (unless hes taller than you) be done slightly- it will make it easier for you to shoot him head on. without all that extra space above his head.

try to keep the lighting on him consistent, look for shadowed spots when it's one light source.

kill time for an hour or so, and you'll have absolutely perfect lighting. The shoot will probably end up being a couple of hours long anyway.

If you can get an assistant, use a reflector as a lightsource, it gives amazing effects.

Is it on location or in studio?

just use the three light trick man, simple, easy, etc

stand him outside with the sun on one half of his face, then with a large white card, sheet, whateva, reflect the sunlight to the other side of his face.

the third light os for the background, but if he's outside then that'll be taken care of anyway
