pic is unbalanced... see how all the black/grey is on one side of the frame and the rest of the frame being white.

so step 1 would be to balance it some how.. I would make the silhouette more to the left and crop off some of the left whiteness for a start...
from there you can work on other aspects.. like shooting in RAW and in lower exposure

That's a great shot and all, but did you really mean for it to come out like this or is it just a lucky shot? Did you try to get your subject blurred or was that an autofocus error because of the low light? Did you mean for the exposure to be so contrasted or did you just fuck it up.

Because you're shooting in AP mode, I have to assume you fucked up. Try shooting in M so you can get these kinds of shots because you're actually in control of the exposure.

i actually set my focus and metered off of the closest lockers if i remember correctly, (it's been a bit since i actually took the shot). i meant for it to be blurred, i had taken a picture similar to it and liked the way it came out. i'm sort of learning through my experiances.
