I didn't know light wraps around stuff. Only light source that would've affected the photo was the flash held behind the head. Perhaps it bounced to the sides and bounced off my friend holding the flash as seen by the shadows on the face.

This opens up new ideas, must redo this shot without the hand, without the visible flash cord, and with a better background.

I meant without the arm holding the flash. I like the pose of the hand covering the face for this one.
