rofl. this is the photography they teach at my college.
FUZZY: enables you to get clear and properly exposed pictures by controlling the focal length, flash and shutter in compliance with the surrounding situation. In this mode, the subject size of your picture may be changed as the lens will automatically adjust to provide the optimum photographic conditions.

STEP ZOOM: to take a number of pictures of the same subject using different focal lengths. The number of photos depends on the focal length chosen.

INTERVAL SHOOTING: to take pictures automatically over a chosen period of time.

BULB SHOOTING: for time exposures of subjects such as fireworks and night scenes.

PORTRAIT ZOOM: to maintain a constant size within the frame even though the distance to the subject may vary (e.g.: head and shoulders portrait)

CONTINUOUS SHOOTING: to take a sequence of a moving subject

MULTI-EXPOSURE SHOOTING: to combine multiple images on a single frame.

I like to learn as many techniques as possible.. there is never a one technique fits all approach to any picture. If you have studied 100's of techniques, your bound to make your personal approach that much better..
