Hell yea, the 8008s is a great body. Wider match "needle" than the N90s. The AF isn't very fast but it's more than usable. Viewfinder's bright enough for MF lenses most of the time and there ARE nikon focusing screens available for it if you want a focusing aid.

I love handling a heavyish camera but over a kilo? I wouldn't want that thing hanging from my neck for long periods

DEFINATELY! I shoot with an 8008s, and they go for super cheap! Their built in spot meter rocks.

Hey guys, what will happen if I try to put a DX lens on a film body? Can't fit, broken mirror, ERR, photos with black corners?

massive vignetting.

>>75898
you can get some heavy vignetting or even just a black border around the picture.

So the camera will recognize the lens and I won't break anything? It'll be fun to try a 18-55 on film, even with a ton of vignetting :D

you wont break anything, works fine as a normal lens.
But for example, the 18-70mm kit lens with the D70, vignettes very heavy at the wide end, especially at 18mm, but goes away on the tele end, almost completely gone at 70mm.
