HI /p/ where in the world was this photo taken?
>> Anonymous
the panopticon
>> Anonymous
It's shopped right? It can't actually be a cylinder shaped hollow building seemingly at least 40 stories high.
>> Anonymous
I vaguely remember this from /p/... somewhere in Asia?

I get the feeling that China, Russia or North Korea are the types to try this sort of thing.

Really cool, though. Please post more if you have.

Why not? It's actually a good design idea, it provides a very strong structure while allowing windows/balconies for interior apartments and simplifying ventilation.

This definately looks real.

It just seems like it'd be really dark. And looking out your windows at your neighbors seems wierd.

I dont know if this was an apartment or some sort office. That'd probably help clear it up.

must be chinese

Perhaps this is how the photo looked originally because the open windows are nearer to the bottom of each window section hence easier to reach. I'm still baffled even if this is the case.

This was a prison. It was used to help employ a sort of "self-moderation" amongst the prisoners, since they could all see each other, and who knew if someone would tell on you if you did something wrong. The large block in the middle was the guard's room. Generally only one guard was stationed there, and in those windows were blinds that he could see out but prisoners couldn't see in, so it was as if you were always being observed. Sociologists think this kind of prison is inhumane, for the record. (learned in college sociology)

wtf? ur such a dumbass...

So ur saying that all the trash on top (or bottom in this case) of that concrete has broken the laws of physics and are all sticking there...

dont even look at the clothes hanging upside down from the window, or the fact that theres a roof and the bottom of that structure.

Yea, I think youre right. They probably have like a bunch of lightbolts down on the ground, and the top must be sealed, so as to prevent air from coming in. That would explain the strange darkness up there. The towels and such must be hanging upwards because of a huge fan on the ground, right? And all that trash and stuff is just jamed up into that part with a fence hanging down from it. Yeah, it all makes sence when you just flip it.

That would be a panopticon, and this is not one. I'd pay a bit more attention to your classes.
