Hi, what is the best program for making stitches? (taking many pictures and then turn all those images into one big image)

In exchange for the information, I give you picture of my cat. I went today and took 50 pictures at night, I'll upload here few afterwards.

This is maybe the best picture which I took. Tell me if you want higher resolution pictures or something. And I really need tripod, all these pictures are taken without one, so they are little shaky.

This place reminds me of Initial D. I want to get a tripod and go take a picture from here after it has rained, so that the road sparkles and looks darker.

stop

go out and buy a 35mm Film camera, prolly a pawn shop would be your best bet cause you dont want a spendy one to use later on knowing you kids today.

Buy ilford 400 speed black and white film and learn some composition.

Dammit.

For a cheaper alternative, just get a tripod and slow down that shutter speed for some of these shots. You'll see the difference when your picture isn't completely black with some goddamn starbursts coming from the lamps.

buying a 35mm camera has nothing to do with learning anything.

My camera isn't the best one, as you all can see, but I'd like to hear some advices which would really help. Later on this year I'm buying myself a better camera, and I'll sell this one off. Well, I think that you can't even give any good critique from these pictures.

these are really dark pictures which makes it hard to make out anything. theres no real composition to these photos.

protip: the problems with your pictures have nothing to do with your camera.

35mm FILM

forces you to think because of the limited number of shots that are not free to develop

black and white because color is distracting when you're trying to learn composition

Nice to hear that, but this camera seems to have some problems with the colors in the nature. Most of the pictures look colorless and they always disappoint me, and that's really annoying when nothing ever looks even closely as it should look like.

because its hard to actively think about composition and force yourself to think by limiting yourself instead of thinking about the composition while shooting digital. with the larger amount of shots with digital you can take multiple shots and compare them to see which composition is better and what works and what doesnt.

you need to set the white balancing in the camera to the right setting. auto WB is usually pretty off.

Thanks, maybe the best comment which I've got so far.

The A620 is actually a really nice camera. I've gotten a crapload of good shots with my A95, which was the precursor model to that one.

And on that note, your camera came with software to combine shots in the way you're asking. There's even a special mode on your camera to facilitate it. Try it out.

(If you want to follow the film luddite's advice re: learning composition--and it's actually pretty good advice--you can simulate it digitally by putting your camera in black and white mode and shoving in an old 32M SD card. Much less hassle for basically the same constraints)

Which is good. If you have fucking forever to take that one picture.

The constraints put on you by film forces you to compose and expose knowing that you cannot waste a shot. This'll become helpful when you need to take a picture, and time & oppertunity are against you.

I learned alot more about photography with a film camera than I did with a digital camera simply because I knew in the back of my mind that I could not waste a shot. EVERY shot must count, or I will have wasted money.

Flash photography from a point and shoot will usually throw off the color that you see with your eye. This is why you should get a tripod and figure out how to make your camera take pictures with a slow shutter speed. If you're going to be taking pictures of streets at night, you're not going to see anything worthwhile without this.

you need to learn how to compose first before you need to learn how to compose quickly or need to learn to compose right the first time, everytime.

after you learn to compose, youll start picking up how to compose something first try. then start practicing composing as fast as you can to not miss a shot.

looking at his pictures, theres very little composition, so sticking him with a 35mm to make him think about his pictures isnt gonna help nearly as much as if he learned the basics to composition first. baby steps.
