I'm in a photography class and my teacher always says how my work is "so strong".
what is she talking about when she says 'strong?'

pic unrelated.

no subtlety. too in your face.

There's nothing drawing me into the picture. It's like "splat" in the middle, and way too obvious. It's like, here the picture of a gay guy. Here's the picture of a table, a chair, an apple. In effect, too blatant, and too boring.

I think it means
You need to meet her after class
And take your shirt off

Yeah but he's GAY.

Hold on you guys, picture unrelated. That's a picture of Gaspard Ulliel, and it's there because that was the first thing I saw when I clicked browse.

And she was meaning 'strong' as a compliment, by the way she used it.
such as, "your work was so strong in your last session. You know what works for you, keep it up."
"Nice shot, this really strong."

Then maybe you should be posting that instead of someone eles's shit while you're patting yourself on your big fat back.

PC way of saying shitsux

The picture has nothing to do with what I'm asking. I'm asking what would 'strong' mean. Not if something is strong.

And I'm not taking credit for the photograph of Gaspard Ulliel, or anything like that. I wanted to make the thread. That picture was the first one I saw. I clicked it. theend.

You know, in the real world, when you have issues with someone, you talk to them.

So I would recommend asking you teacher, you fucking pussy.
>> Anonymous
I don't have an issue. It was a compliment. But what exactly is calling something strong complimenting? Composition/lighting/pose/camera angle?
>> Anonymous
>>298324
Goddamn it, it could mean anything. That's why you ask your fucking proffessor. Or you post your shots, so we can critique them for you.

If you want someone to stroke your dick, go to DA. Jesus. You sound like you're 16. Oh wait...

It just means good, with some connotations of knowing-what-you're-doing, some measure of maturity, etc. Pretty much the opposite of what you see on /p/: tossing an f/1.4 lens wide open and sticking the subject alone in the frame on a thirds point is usually quite weak, thoughtless, and amateurish.

Show us these strong photographs of yours.

Good one. This way, the OP is always right, and his pictures always rock.

Nice try. Just like all the other awesome anons out there whose shoots are too good to post. Regardless that there's an army of amateur ass lickers here to come to your defense.
