im looking for a relatively decent camera for low light conditions like concerts and such, the camera can be p&s or slr

recording would also be nice as well as a good built-in mic but that is not necessary.

any suggestions?

For low light you need a DSLR, preferably Canon or one of those new nikons if you can afford them, plus a f/2.8 or faster lens...

...and uuuuuhhh WHAT, YOU WANT A BUILT-IN MIC? Forget about everything I just said, you aren't qualified enough to take any good photos at concerts. ARGHHH

Well yeah, but it's not 22.1MP. Nobody needs 22.1MP. Lots of people need 39.

Get a PowerShot A-series or G-series. Anything less than an SLR is going to be pretty shitty for low-light work, though.

The Fuji f45, f20, etc are all very good for doing low light work and are much closer to SLRs than P&Ss in terms of noise at a given ISO.

You're overestimating them. SuperCCD-based Fujis suck less at ISO 200+ than other point-and-shoots, but you can still get two more stops of sensitivity out of a decent DSLR with the same image quality if you shoot raws and run them through NeatImage.

Isn't alot of the Canon S3IS and S5IS going sale now? Plus CHDK firmwark is great fun.
