I borrowed the Canon EF 300mm f/4L IS USM from Canon Australia today.

I can keep it for the weekend but have no idea what to shoot. I have no experience whatsoever with a telephoto lens like this.
Maybe show me some awesome telephoto shots around 300mm to get me going?
Suggesting locations would also help.

Birds are generally a good start, practice fast tracking.

sitting by a road and tracking cars as well.

300 isnt generaly for landscape, so most of the time your subject is moving, learning to track properlly is probably something you need to do and practice makes perfect (no seriously).

Boats, surfers and things like that if you can get to the water.
