Funny how you never see any street Jews.

Plenty of street Buddhists and street Muslims.

Crazy hellfire preacher on the left, loving christians in the center, and atheists on the right. My favorite shot because it has all the players.

Please tell me thats "holy water" in the jug hes carrying.
Also I do really like the shot, maybe a bit of editing will really make it pop, but it does have lots of potential

Also what campus are you on that tolerates street preachers?
And are the Athiests being as confrontational as it looks like?
>> Anonymous
>>123582
He has said he blesses his water before drinking it. He says it is holy water.

Any public college has to allow them on campus. The atheists usually don't get too pissed at him unless he calls their girl a whore or something. It's usually christians who get pissed at him because he tells them they're going to hell.

Also, how do you think it should be edited?

Not that funny. Judaism is not an evangelical religion. While people do occasionally convert, the Jews are content to get more Jews the old fashioned way.

Christianity and Islam, on the other hand, tend to favor going out and converting the heathens. And Buddhists just want everyone to be happy and think that Buddhism is the way to make that happen.

...i guess so. Id still like to see them all turn up in the same street one day though. Along with all the major charities. That would be interesting...

I was thinking a bit more like this actually.

Strange, religious preaching isn't tolerated on public universities in Canada. Its usually viewed as a form of oppression when its being shoved down someone elses throat.

Tilt Shift or Perspective Control
Its just a gradient gaussian blur layer what I did, The trees overhead and the background were a bit distracting, and the colors were a bit bland.
thats all I did.

He hits North Carolina a lot it seems. Blitzed back and forth between the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and North Carolina State University for awhile, along with (though not affiliated) this other guy whose name I don't remember.

This guy's name is "Brother Micah."

God I hate these people. There's a guy who shows up at my school all the time, and he has to have campus security follow him around to keep him from getting attacked. He brings his wife and daughters(all dressed in identical red, white, and blue dresses)with him and they huddle in a corner while he brags about beating them because "men who master their women are assured a place in heaven". He screams out at girls walking by that they're going to hell because they're going to school instead of getting married and having kids. 90% of my school practices one religion or another, but anyone who argues with him gets called a "god-hating sinner who deserves to burn".
/rant, sorry.

There are two types of Atheists, and two types of Theists.

Atheist (A) believes what he believes because he is a man of logic, and chooses not to follow organized religion.

Atheist (B) just likes to be 'lol anti establishment' and pretty much does it to troll.

Theist (A) believes through faith, and doesn't mind others believing something different than him.

Theist (B) pretty much does it because everyone else does, and will jump at the slightest provocation because he thinks he's been taken for a fool.

Type A's don't go on the internet.

>>124539

Youre "Atheist type A" appears to be an Agnostic...

..and theres loads of them on the internet. THE INDECISIVEs.
>> ???????????||Tripfag||???????????? !REDREDLOGo
>>124547
In truth, the reason people hate agnostics is that they are logical.

"God made the Earth in 7 days."
"You fool! The Universe was formed after the big bang!"
"Fellas, take it easy. You can't really think that humanity was smart enough to just pick up on what makes the world work. We aren't nearly advanced enough to make even an educated guess."
"Go to hell, Sagan! And don't come back until you pick a side!"
>> Anonymous
>>124539
>>124552
Agnostics really aren't too logical; one typically doesn't need to remain agnostic to the existence of other supernatural things in order to be objective, so why remain agnostic in respect to the Abrahamic god.

Why should one not inquire to the origin of our world simply because we can't be certain at this point? If everyone was that content with simply saying "We cannot know." it woudl be a sad day for science.

(hint- big bang is not the opposite of creationism)
>> Grammar Nazi
>>124602
Agnostics don't believe in the Abrahamic God.

Also, God is capitalized.

Man... I had a bunch of pictures I took of these type of guys last year, but the guy who was hosting me revoked my webspace for hosting gory images. Nothing interesting really happened, other than the atheists shouting stuff like "Jesus sucks!" and the demonstrators shouting bible verses back at them.

Then there was another time the same guys came back, and a bunch of kids were counter protesting them. They were holding up signs like "I masturbate five times a day" and "I am a cum fiesta." I was on the way to class and didn't have my camera, and by the time I got back from getting my camera, the police had broken everything up since someone tackled one of the preacher people or something.

>one typically doesn't need to remain agnostic to the existence of other supernatural things in order to be objective, so why remain agnostic in respect to the Abrahamic god.

I'd argue one does. We can't *prove* anything absolutely; hell, it's even possible to pull a Descartes and wank about whether anything exists except oneself or not.

All models of reality (all scientific theories, all religions, etc.) are just that: models. We adopt or discard them in accordance with how well they fit with our empirical senses. That's why you've got (for instance) Christopher Hitchens (Church of England to secularist) and Adin Steinsaltz (secular to Orthodox Jew): two awesomely brilliant and learned men with different experiences adopting different ways of filtering reality, going the opposite direction over their lives. Same reason why scientists disagree on what theory best explains some things.

That doesn't mean one can't/shouldn't commit in practice to a religion or theory, but it's all provisional.

Oh shit. This guy comes to my campus too.

He only comes around once every year or so, and every time he comes to my school (NC State) he always ends up with a crowd of at least 100 people mocking him.

But then again, that sort of thing normally happens whenever a preacher comes to my college. I'll get some shots next time one comes.

The difference is that scientific models are supported by falsifiable, repeatable experimentation which generates objective data. Supernatural or religious models have no backing save personal subjective experience. While neither can ever be proven absolutely, the case for the former and against the latter is so strong that it's no contest. So really, there's no cause to be agnostic about any god's existence save irrational personal preference.
