Okay, /p/. I'm really new to this. I'm wanting to join AF soon, so I'm wondering what kind of camera would be good for a job relating to photography in that type of area. Give name, price, size, quality of picture, etc. Would really help, thanks.

What is AF? Air force? They'll probably give you cameras to use.

Oh? I didn't know that. I was told I had to buy the camera myself.

I'd say around $300-400. I don't want anything outrageously expensive.

I was always under the impression that military photogs were given cameras - if you're American, this means a Nikon, which has been the case since the 1950s. EXIF on the official military shots I've seen indicates they're mostly using D1x/D1h/D100.

If you do have to buy something, that price range is a bit of a problem. Considering photography is going to be your job, you'd want something versatile like a DSLR - and nothing but amateur level bodies and kit lenses are available at that level new.
