I'm not a professional photographer or anything, but I love taking pictures and I'm always doing it. I've grown a rather fondness for pictures with trees in them, kittens and cats, or anything with sunlight filtering through. I've been told that allowing sunlight or having the "sun" shine in the picture takes away from it, and it's not a good technique, but I tend to find that a lot of the pictures, well, in my opinion anyway turn out rather pretty.
Anyone else share a liking for these types of pictures? And any advice on making the sunshine effect a little more professional?

Lighting is the most important thing in photography, so whoever told you that having sunlight shining in your pictures is bad is an idiot.

As for the photo, christ... you could at least rotate it properly.

As a personal preference, I didn't rotate it that way because that's how I wanted it to be when I took it, but all right. I do believe when they were instructing me, I had some pictures with the sun directly in it, and they said having the sun in it is a bad idea, because it just creates this orange-yellow "blob" that no one wants to see. :/
