CC plox, i want to get better. (A lot better.)
>> NatureGuy !se3A3TwzdY
All of these come off as snapshots. Not really thought out and shot on the run.

If you want to get better, start by reading a book on basic composition. Then, for the rest of your photography career, browse other peoples work and learn what works, what doesn't, and most importantly why.

Why are you avoiding that 'Varsity' place? It looks like it has a lot of character, a lot more than the generic skyline behind it.

Like the third picture made me really want to know what was on the left.

Finally- Get closer.

The first thing you need to work on is composition.

In both of the shots at the Varsity, you need to either cut it out completely, or show us more. The sliver you left in on both shots ruins the composition.

I can't even tell what I'm supposed to be looking at in the other two pictures. Your DoF is pretty much as bad as it could get. Either more or less would have been better.

Watch the edges of your shots. This falls under the composition category, but it seems to be the area you are struggling with the most.

If you are already comfortable shooing from the parking lot of the Varsity at night with a digital camera, you may as well venture around some more interesting parts of the city that everyone in the area hasn't already seen a million pictures of.

>> 1st photo
either go with mediocre skyline or interesting varsity joint, you can't have both, change location or angle in order to remove the streetlight.
>> 2nd photo
Bokeh
>> 3rd photo, Again, varisity joint or city skyline. Get that damn bush out of the shot.
>> 4th photo
