what size would you suggest? 2816x2112? The thing is I need to have quite a high resolution on these photos for a stock photo site, would you say that the image is poor quality at it's current size?

He's saying that there's no fucking reason to post a file that huge here. Bring it down to 1000px on a side so it fits on our laptop monitors and doesn't chug along on 4chan's limited bandwidth.

A better resolution and file size, bit ignorant of me to post it at that size.

from a marketing standpoint -explain to me why you think i would want to use this image?
>> Anonymous
>>228173

not to sure about this particular image, I was after comments about the quality of the image, etc. I guess that it could be used as a background if you put a white semi opaque layer over it but on the whole you're right that it's not much use as far as marketing is concerned, (unless you're selling whatever that thing is).

why don't you post one of the ones you were actually going to use for the site, so we can actually give you constructive criticism.

This was one of the ones, I was going to use. You have to upload some sample photos before you can sell photos on the site, my guess is that they are looking at the quality of the photo at this point (at least thats the way it looks from what I have read on the site [istockphoto] ). I don't have a portfolio yet, as I've only recently got into photography.

the sample photos are to show off your marketability... the quality of a photo is from a marketing standpoint. this includes your subject, your composition, your use of negative space, and not just your technical ability with a camera (but that's included too).

your photo as is... shows that you have no knowledge of lighting, composition, camera use, and marketing.

Pixels don't make the photo. Some of the best photos are grainy to hell and sometimes out of focus.

But it is a stock photography site and that's like, gay and not artistic and they'd rather have clean images that don't really mean much in terms of creativity. Go watch commercials or read magazines and try to take photos like that.
