Chris
Im looking for a good wideangle lens and saw the Sigma 10-20 F/4-5.6 one and it seems promising, but i thought ide check here first, is it a good buy or are there any other similar one but better in the same price range?

Forget Sigma, get Tokina.

Tokina is slightly sharper, But the Sigma is also quite good, and the difference of 10 - 12mm is pretty big.

So if you really want crazy wide angle then Theres no reason not to get the sigma, It has a cool autofocus override clutch in it, And it can focus quite close. In fact it probably has the best autofocus performance of any of my lenses (though the wider the easier it usually is).

My suggestions
Tamron = if you have a film camera aswell
Tokina = Best buy for your money
Sigma = Widest angle
Nikon or Canon = if your loaded, cause they are the best.

thanks for the info, im really torn now between the tokina and sigma, the tokina seems to be really good, but those 2mm less on the sigma are very tempting.

If anyone want to share more shots using a sigma 10-20 or tokina 12-24 ide very much appreciate it!

Taken from the review about the Nikon lens: "They don't squander their resources making copy machines or printers."

I think that says about it about the reviewer.

I was close to going a Canon 10-20 but ended up with a Canon 20mm F2.8, even with the 1.6x crop it's super wide and at F2.8 it's nicely bright. On top of all that I picked it up for half the price of the 10-20mm.

Well worth taking a look at if you want a solid, wide prime instead of the zoom.
