Do any of you work as a studio photographer? I'm interested in finding out average pay rates for this kind of job as I'm looking to apply for this job.

All help is appreciated

You price on what you need to live.
For example:

You need atleast £15,000 a year
How many days would you be working a year? Lets say 330 (36 days off)
How many hours would you be working a day? 9-5? 8 hours.
You'd be working 2640 hours a year.

15,000/2640 = 5.681
You'll have to be earning atleast 5.70 an hour.
Now when you're in a studio for each client there will usually be this:
Initial Sitting = 2 hours
Photoshop time = 1 hour
Viewing = 1-2 hours
Printing = 30mins-1hour.
Total for each client: 4hours 30 mins - 6 hours
You would have to get atleast £25.65 - £34.2 from the client.
The sitting fee is usually £25~
Then each photo is bought seperately.

With a studio you will not get a sitting every day. More along the lines of 2-3 a week.
Thats why studio photogs charge so much for a simple 10x8.
