I'm relatively safe from chemical and biological weapons. That's why they call me Gasmask-kun.

I wonder if the M40 can handle high velocity paintball rounds. It's much better at staying fog free, and I even have prescription inserts so I don't have to wear regular glasses underneath. A surplus M40 would be perfect for paintball games.

That looks like the filter was smashed but the lense itself looks fine.

I TOLD YOU FILTERS MAKE BETTER PROTECTION THAN HOODS.

I still don't get why people use UV filters instead of neutrals on digital cameras ^^;
>> Anonymous
>>129889
Because neutrals cut down on light?

Duh, UV = removes unused light (sensor doesnt pick up) therefore harmless, skylight or ND filters change the image.

Looks like some paint got on the front element of the lens.

Double UV filters?

Hoods are better when there isn't flying dust, sand, or projectiles.

or humans.

I do a lot of human cattle photography (hate of subject much?) and idiots like to push n poke lenses.

Hoods protect against user damage for the most part, since you are the one who is going to drop it. Filters tend to protect better against everything else.
