Alright /p/eople, time to get conceptual.

Well, maybe, not sure it this would count as conceptual. I've gotten into a bit of rut photography wise, and I'm thinking of doing a series on memories. Specifically, the space associated with said memory, as well as with a brief journal-like description of what happened. Some might have people, some not. It's still kind of in the works.

I guess what I'm asking is for some unbiased opinions as to if this is a good idea, or gay as hell.

Here's my first picture on color film ever (that I printed as such myself) I know shit sux, but is was a strict gray card assignment. Also, pic unrelated.

It's true. OP here, and I've never had an official first date. I've had a boyfriend for 3+ years, but we never actually dated. We went straight from friends to a relationship.

I think you're idea may work though. Doing memories that most everyone has experienced (such as 'first kiss' 'first drunk')but making it personal by putting in my own location. I think it's something that's going to take some exploring.

but that's still a date/gettogether. I am using "date" very loosely. First.. outting.. with a guy, then?

something like that is always a good starting point for concepts, but you have to explore alot more shit than just the basics, start getting creative with it, doesnt have to be weird to be good, but original is always good (even if original is a bunch of random styles/ideas taped together well)

And if you have a core of more common memories, that'll help you squeeze in stuff that's more personal to you, because it'll flow with the other shots. Hm, I'd think more than one picture per memory would be doable too, something to establish the common context than a shot or two to pull it into specifics. That way you're showing both universality and multiplicity at the same time.
