What camera threads are what.

D40 is cock. Get a used D50 or D70s or a Canon plastic toy or a K10D (no lenses lol)

VR is vibration reduction and makes your caffeine jitters less pronounced when shooting.

Vibration Reduction or Image Stabilizer. Lets you handhold at slower shutter speeds and still get a usable image. Great for telephoto lenses.

I hate saying this expression because it's been said 10 million times: it still won't freeze action.

D40 kit - £287 (http://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk/prod267.html)
55-200mm VR - £128 (http://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk/prod473.html)
2GB Sandisk Extreme III SD (faster than the Ultra) - £15 (http://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk/prod305.html)

Total: £430 (excluding delivery)

Apparently Nikon are doing a cashback until the 7th (tomorrow) too: http://www.nikon.co.uk/sites/cashback/default.html
so it might be worth trying to get Jessops to pricematch the above prices for camera and lens, since those have to be bought together to get the £30 cashback...

tl;dr Jessops is a highstreet shop, so rarely has the best prices unless you make them pricematch (they might not on the VR lens since they want literally double)
