I guess it's good morning, /p/ (1am here).

I've been planning on getting my first DSLR for a while now. After going through many reviews I've pretty much decided on the Olympus E-520. I got a chance to hold it yesterday. That made me want it even more because it happened to also be my favorite feeling out of the others at the store that i could afford. Before i get it, I'd like to know if anyone has found any major problems with it. I also really need to know how well it stands up to the rain. I live in Oregon so it will be getting wet very frequently.

Pic related: good old liquid sunshine from today.

I got a 410 for dirt cheap earlier in the year and pretty impressed with the feature set for the money.
Not sure about the 520 but the 410 does have a much smaller dynamic range than most DSLRs tho and both will have the smallest sensors going.
If weatherproofing is important to you I think the new pentax/samsungs are meant to be very good in that department.
Range of glass is quite limited unless you get an adaptor and live with manual focus (not easy on olympus viewfinder)
