Hey guys, what do you think? ami(go)
I'm a big fan of saturation, and also pretty girls. Thus most of my latest stuff has been pretty girls with one or two colors in the picture. How does saturation make you feel?

do you know what saturation means?
>> ami(go)
well, i go to hue/saturation, and hue turns colors to other colors, and saturation increases or decreases colors. I don't have a photography definition, only what I've surmised from my self-taught antics in photoshop.

any comments?

You're a fan of de-saturation.

Selective coloring which is what you're doing here is lame and should be avoided at all times. It's fake, boring and cheap. It's common for photoshop noobs to use a lot until they realize that it is just a photoshop noob technique.

You have to ask yourself, does the chosen color really do anything for the picture? If not, it's just decoration. I'm all for pretty colors, but it doesn't really matter unless it emphasizes something thematically.

When people see your photo do you want them to go..

"Thats an amazing photo of (insert subject here)."

or

"Wow, thats a cool effect. How did you do that?"

Currently, your going to get more of the latter.

all I see is a jew-rat wheres the pretty girl?

She doesn't even look Jewish. While she is unattractive, that (if anything) indicates against her being Jewish. Jewish girls tend to be on the pretty side.

TL;DR GTFO Nazi.

Neither saturation nor a pretty girl.

Also a very bad example of desaturation, which should be used only for an extreme effect, like red lips in a b/w portrait or a brightly-coloured butterfly. This will result in something cheap, tacky and unoriginal but at least not a totally meaningless PS effect.

The original photo you're working on is also crap. Bad angle, bad composition, bad light balance and horribly fuzzy.

Also I hate that distorted look of the lens being so close to the subject.

photo is just kinda boring sorry =/ plus its blurry
oh and in the future if you want to make a black and white pic don't just lower the saturation, try using the channel mixer instead
(that is if photoshop elements has it otherwise get yourself real photoshop =P)

its a myspace pic to me , though id tap her .

PE has it. It's just called "Convert to Black and White" and has a different interface. And can't be used for color. But it does the same thing as Channel Mixer in monochrome mode; it even says "loading channel mixer" or something like that when one cliks on it.

Can I call a Rule 34 on that one, /p/?

The girl doesn't look that bad. In fact, I wouldn't turn my dick down on her. (Now, did this pun work or not?)
Maybe her lips might look a bit odd, but I bet it's not her normal state.

>>64433
B/W photos tends to need more contrast. Here isn't any.
Also, as said before, the partial desaturation doesn't work here. It doesn't have any purpose here.
And composition needs some more work too. The weight is too much on the left. And what's that thing growing out of her head?

And when photographing girls, don't do it from upwards (unless it has some good purpose). First thought will be "is she fat"? Because of that, I demand more photos of her!
