Went out shooting yesterday, but stayed mostly inside since it was brainmeltingly hot. C&C always welcome.

The only decent street shot of the day.

harpoons.

Focusing on the tip of the gun and using a deeper DoF so I could see a blurred girl but not that blurred... would've been nicer, I guess
>> Anonymous
Smaller aperture next time so we can see her tits ok.
>> Anonymous
>>54705
i think this woulda been better if you had more DoF and focused on the tip of the gun. as is, its kinda weird

Hell, I'm not proud. I'd do her.

But *only* if she wore the cowboy boots.

I agree that you should have focused on the tip of the gun, and had slightly more DoF to include all of it.

I like the amount of focus on the girl, though. Don't increase it. The bokeh on whatever lens you're using is really great, so contrary to>>54710I can make out the shape of every part of her visible body just fine.

>>54707
The small depth of field is really, really distracting, and the lens was doing something funky with all those weird overlapping circles.

Also, some color correction might be in order.

>>54708
I'm sure you know this, since you just called it "decent," but it lacks energy, which is the thing that makes a street shot work or not.

It's a good shirt for it, my perv brethren... :D Perhaps noodz later on.
>>54711
Agreed. I was shooting at something like 1/20, so I really needed the f/1.8, though I could've bumped up the ISO for a few more stops. The focusing thing was an accident, though, and I agree it could've been better. But as far as "hay guyz look at a pic of my girlfriend" it's pretty decent, heh.
>>54713
I know, ac, I know. I'll take moar pictures of chicks for you.

>>54714
To each his own, I guess. I really liked the overlapping bokeh in>>54707, it was caused by the specular highlights off of a textured glass vase. Let me upload another version with different DoF in a second. Also, the warm tones are accurate for the scene, and intentional. Unlike B&W, there's no real need for a pure white. I can work right in the middle of the histogram and come out with a perfectly good picture.

btw, I just made a Mac application via Automator that resizes images without the hassle of opening up Photoshop. If anyone wants it, say so, and I'll throw it up on some webspace.

Here's another version. A little different, but just so you can see the background of the other, and why I chose the focus the way I did.

Yeah, you definatly need to focus on the barrel (aka the "tip") of the gun

It would have made the shot much better looking

Tonight twas I doing the shooting, nyuck nyuck. :D
>>54939
Yup, all with my 50. The only reason I ever take it off is to use the 28 end of my 28-200 zoom. I literally have no use for the telephoto. I can't wait to get my Pentax K10D so I can use all my delicious SMC primes, and maybe get one of those new Limiteds.

The Nikkor? With VR? I wish. I wouldn't be switching systems if I could afford glass like that, heh. No, this is a semi-decent Tamron 28-200mm f/3.8-5.6 zoom. It's a very capable lens, considering I paid all of $90 for it! It also looks like a bazooka. Extends to be longer than a foot at 200mm with the lens hood on, and the 72mm filter size makes for a very imposing lens! With that said, it's kind of a downside for street photography, when I don't WANT to be noticed. The 50 is much stealthier.
