So /p/hotopraphers.

I have a need for a basic Point and click camera. I want a shit cheap one. my only requirements is Zero(or at least minimal) noise
If I need to dish out a few hundred for a half decent picture quality (read:NO NOISE) then I'm willing to do that but cheaper the better if I can get away with it. Obviously it'd also be nice if the pictures came out focused and sharp.

This camera won't really be for anything serious, and I probably won't use it more than once a month but noise pisses me off.

So any tips/pointers/buy-this-camera to make it easy?

Pic is one I'm currently considering, but the guy who recommended also admitted to not knowing shit about shit.

id suggest looking around and getting lots of views and opinions and most importantly try the camera out before you commit to buying (best i can do sorry, i know shit about p&s models since i haven't been looking to buy one in years)

Holy crap, I expected to have to wade through several metric tonnes of rage before anyone even posted something positive let alone tried to help.

I salute you anon, I'm hoping to get the stated "lots of views and opinions" from this post, kind of need a camera by tomorrow night.

Sorry that doesn't help? Are you saying that I ask the impossible or that most any current digital camera will have little noise?

You ask the impossible. Or at least the very difficult. "Cheap" and "No noise" are two goals thoroughly at odds with each other.

Anyway, I'd recommend you get a PowerShot A630. Noise isn't too bad at low ISO, and it's under $200. I have no experience with the A4xx series cameras like the one you posted, but I know the A6x0 ones are pretty good and have larger sensors (==less noise) than the A4xx line.

whatever you do, don't get a kodak. ever.

Well, basically any camera will do if you can deal with 10 second exposures in low light conditions.

Fuji F50D would be what I would consider, if you want cheaper the f31 is pretty well regarded.

Bah. What's wrong with noise anyway? You're not shooting for billboard ads or anything like that. (At least not with a point and shoot.)

If noise really pisses you off, then well...
