Hi, I'm thinking of buying a Nikon D80. With the dollar being so low atm, I thought buying one in the US would be cheaper than over here in Norway. So I was wondering, what's the average price on D80's in the States?

www.google.com

bhphotovideo.com, adorama.com, or keh.com. Be careful about small US-based internet camera shops, especially if their prices are less than the three above- they're probably scams.

About 4098 to you.

Op here, thanks alot.

Why the D80 is still so much more expensive then the 400D is beyond me.

Because the D80 has 2 wheels and 2 LCDs lol.

Eh.

It's more like Nikon is sandwiching its models between Canon. Or the other way around.

The D40 and D40x are in a class below the Canon 400D in features. But obviously, it's cheaper.

The D80 offers more features than the 400D but not quite to the Canon 40D's level. Again, cheaper.

I really don't think it's fair to compare a D40 X or no X to a 400D.

Yup. That is exactly what is going on with them. I think it is a deliberate move to have them positioned between each other rather than directly competing.

A100 is cheaper and better than a D80

I have a d80 and I am happy with it. Again, like stated before,
the d80 is not supposed to be compared to the 40d nor the xt or xti. To make a comparison, its between the two.

That's so funny, I actually forgot you were serious.

pics of what? Its quite hard to take pics of my only camera body. Flatmate is currently borrowing my camera for some overkill recordkeeping photography anyway.

I was wondering if the great build quality of your Sony meant it had fallen apart by now.

Who said anything about great build quality? Considering i treat my camera like shit sometimes (it gets very very wet) and its working perfectly the build quality is fine. The grip isnt falling off either.

TSK.

Come on Butterfly! I can smell the reek of troll bait from here. It's clearly trying to get a rise from you.
