What`s wrong with the size faggot? Are you the hall monitor on this board.
>> Anonymous
>>120576
oversized shots waste server bandwidth, if we actually WANT something at the original res we'll ask
>> Anonymous
>>120595
Maximum file size allowed is 5120 KB. Doesn`t say anything about having to wait for a request. Are you some kind of retard. I think you`ve been too long in your moms basement, time for some fresh air.

>>120597

Don't let the trolls get to you.

Huge ass files loads slowly because of the servers and not because of the bandwidth of the viewer.
Also, web browser resizing is shit.
Btw, op, your shots are shit.

Da Rulz:

/p/ - Photography

1. Only upload images that you, the photographer, have taken.
2. Post only photos that show at least trace amounts of thoughtful composition. Do not upload random snapshots.
3. Even though EXIF data is made available when encoded, please post as much relevant technical information as possible, such as: camera, kit, lens, etc.
4. Include a short description with your photograph, such as when and where it was photographed and under what circumstances.
5. As with the art critique board, only constructive criticism will be tolerated.

Nuthin' 'bout no file size dere.

>>120693
We all know that the file size thing is not in the rules but you have to understand that nobody is going to wait 30 seconds for your unnecessarily large photos to load.

And like others said, it has nothing to do with our internet connections, it's 4chan's.

So if you'd rather nobody actually looks at your photos go ahead and post them as large as you like.
>> Anonymous
For the newfags and retards: Yes, there is no rule about file size, but it has long been convention and common courtesy on /p/ to keep file sizes below 500k and/or less than 1500-ish pixels in the longest dimension unless specifically requested otherwise. Nobody wants to wait to see your huge ass picture of something stupid, nor does browser resizing do anything good for it. Plus it helps cut down on server load, which is a good thing for everybody.
>> Anonymous
op, even if these pictures were resized they would still suck shit. blown areas and noise everywhere.

you're a faggot and need to just off yourself.

>>nobody is going to wait 30 seconds for your unnecessarily large photos to load.
So nobody is downloading anything from /hr/. You`re all idiots. This is another reason to dislike americans, always talking crap. Read the rules idiot.
>> Anonymous
Please, someone upload some huge files to pissoff the file size nazis.
>> Anonymous
>>120797
1. People go to /hr/ specifically when they want those. It's acceptable on /p/ to post a large file if someone asks for it.
2. Learn the difference between a social norm and a rule. Posting huge files on /p/ is like fapping through your pants on the bus: not illegal, but just not right.
3. If you look at the photographs most high-end photographers post, they're not that size. Why? BECAUSE IT DOESN'T FIT ON A MONITOR. 1000 pixels wide at the most. Less if it's vertical, because monitors are wider than they are tall. Otherwise, Firefox is going to make more mincemeat of your detail than it would if you took a few minutes in Photoshop to get a smaller picture.
>> Anonymous
>>120799
And when I said, "high end photographers post," I didn't mean to /p/. I meant people like James Nachtwey who have websites to display their work. He puts his up 538 pixels wide.

>>120797
Learn to fucking read.

Your photos are UNNECESSARILY large. /hr/ is a forum specifically for high resolution images. /p/ is not.
>> Anonymous
>>120812
No, you learn to read the rules. You want me to understand your post but you fail to understand the rules. There is nothing about UNNECESSARILY LARGE FILES. The OP is conforming to the rules of this board.
>> Anonymous
>>120818
and you learn to comprehend. its not about rules, but about courtesy to other people since 4chan's servers arent exactly the fastest. we'd rather not wait for a minute to view a picture that could easily be made 1/10th the file size. not only that but it lessens the bandwidth needed by 4chan's server which is also good.

You'd be surprised.

>>120819
If 4chan was concerned about bandwidth, they would limit the file size allowed as do other chan boards. The rules say maximum file size allowed is 5120 KB. OP files are well under half what is allowed for each file.
>> Anonymous
No one wants to see your shitty photos at full-res.
