EOS 20mm 2.8, wide and super sharp. Extra wide on full frame or, in my case, film body. Bought second hand for a nice price.

wow, so far only primes...
>> Anonymous
>>81584
People love primes, especially small, light, sharp ones. This doesn't necessarily mean they don't store them in a box while shooting everything with some generic zoom lens.
>> Anonymous
>>81584
if it werent for the whole part where you'd have to carry four different lenses around all the time, id shoot only prime

and most of them normal length, too. hm.

my favorite lens is probably my 55 micro.

props to the guy shooting hexanon, too. i've got the 50 f/1.4, 135 f/3.5 and 28 f/3.5 and they're some of the best lenses i've ever used.

Life-like texture. ;_;
>> Anonymous
>>81589
Hexanon is not "normal" anymore due to crop factor (40mm x 2 = 80mm)

I also loev my Vivitar 28-90 2.8-3.5. on film it has a bit of vignetting at 28mm, but not on digital. its built solidly, it's fast and sharp. only downside is that it flares easily

I just wished it was AF.. I might go buy a Katz eye soon though. I've my own photos of it, but can't find em right now.

>> Thumper !VFtk2VroH6
I tend to use my ultrasonic 28-105mm f/4-5.6 the most.

Great quality and it gets the job done for most of my work

50mm f/1.8D AF Nikkor

I love it because 1.8 is almost 1.4, and it's way cheaper. :)

Focusing is lightning fast, it's light, small, and feels great to shoot with. I have several zoom lenses and they're not nearly as much fun.

Do want 50mm lens ;_;
What's a good 50mm lens for a Canon Rebel XT?
>> Anonymous
>>81801
The EF 50mm f/1.8 II.

Or the EF 50mm f/1.8.

Or the EF 50mm f/1.4.

Or the EF 50mm f/1.2L.

Or the EF 50mm f/1.0L.

In ascending order of awesomeness
>> Anonymous
>>81801
Oh, and also the EF 50mm f/2.5 Compact Macro.

But with any of these, keep in mind the crop factor with the XT. A 50mm lens is going to be a mild telephoto.
>> Anonymous
>>81802
>EF 50mm f/1.0L.

Are you sure about that? Everything I've ever heard about Canon's f/1 lenses says they're absolutely horrible lenses, with their speed being the only thing to make someone want them.

Oh, and if>>81801is looking for a normal prime, he ought to avoid the two typical normal primes people seem to get for crop sensor cameras (the Sigma 28/1.8 and 30/1.4). They're great lenses for all other makes, but almost all of them refuse to work with Canon's autofocus.

It might not be a good lens, but f/1.0 is AWESOME.

Awesome, I say.
