so I want you to prove me that we can have great photos with cheap camera, compact or bridge.
show me your best photos with cheap camera!

(pic unrelated, my aunt took it without any artistic intent neither professionalism, but I think there is something here even tho cliché that is still touching me)

thanks :)
I like>>64885and>>64891
but they are kinda simple to me and I feel like the B&W is doing all the job.. well then I m not even a noob I m an ignorant, I just stated my opinion, dont flame me.
also aren't those camera kinda expensive, I was thinking about really cheap camera like under 400$. (because maybe if it is possible to learn and make some decent shot with a cheap camera I would buy another one.)
well that s not the thread subject so lets get back to
post your best (cheap) photos :D
>> ac !!VPzQAxYPAMA
>>64906
HiMatic 7s? Expensive? Maybe when it was brand new. I think I paid around $15 for mine. Even new, I'm sure it was less than $400, even adjusting for inflation.

The camera I used (>>64885) goes for about $300.

Youre absolutly right. DSLR has a lot of advantages, but a compact is also perfectly useable in many cases. For me, motive, composition and colours are the most importent factors of a good picture.
>> notaphotograph
>>64911
I saw the photo you posted and it s one of my favorite on this board for now, the girl's photos took by a both digital and film are great too.
so that s the best photo I saw so far and they are all took by high ends appareil (SLR or reflex.. well for me they are high end even if I know that the price goes from 700$ to 15000 $)
so you just started photography with a SLR? or did you make some nice shot with cheap camera?
I m still waiting to see a photo I will love and say "oh shit this was made with a compact or slrlike, ok no need to go buy an expensive camera, this kind should be ok if I work enough with it"
:) more pics !

(pic attached is what I doubt a compact could do, while it's not really artistic and you porbably wont like it if you dont like aircraft,
for me it looks technically excellent, it looks so neat, I mean it seems like talent can do many things in photo if you bring up very original pictures, but if you have evergae creativity but are good technically, a nice camera would help a lot, maybe I am wrong...)
>> danchr
>>64914

The thing is.. with a compact camera you cant
change very many settings. A DSLR is like a whole other world of artistic freedom. Yea, I went straight to a dslr.. never had a compact, but still of course it is possible to take good pictures with a point-and-shoot camera.

On high-end bridge cameras, everything that can be changed on an SLR can be except the lens.

thanks
this thread is very interesting for a noob :)
I might get this casio lol

OH don't! This pic is taken with like perfect lighting, and its a ton of pics stitched together. This camera sucks hardcore for anything dark ,and its long exposure noise is crap, ITs variable aperture sucks and its max shutter speed is 1/1600 wide open (at F4)

It has manual settings but no real control because the aperture is only 2 stepped!

People have bought this camera based on those 2 pics before, But Its not a good camera, just dirt cheap and small (It also eats up batteries fast!)

Best shot I've seen on /p/ today.

>>64924
haha yeah that s why I added the "lol",
I wont buy a camera just because I see a photo I like made by this camera.
but I m becoming more optimistic about taking nice photo with cheap camera, I will be probably stuck with only a few differents styles of photo which will work out well, other styles will suck. I m prepared to that.

Ok good, I thought you were serious, Lol I haven't used the camera once since I picked up a DSLR.

Heres one more with the same camera, Its one good thing it has going for it is it has very low barrel distortion at the wide end. So for Pano's with lots of DOF its not actually that bad.

I wouldn't count that as a bad camera those photos have plenty of resolution and range.
>> Vincent
>>65028
They have plenty of resolution because I stitched together about 50 pictures for each panoramic.
the Range is well a bit of Photoshop, and the first one all the highlights got blown because It was at the smallest aperture and fastest shutter speed (And lowest ISO)

the camera itself sucks, Just with good lighting you can compromise. (once you know how the camera works that is). I wouldn't ever recommend it to anyone who has more than $120 to spend

Taken with the shittiest camera in the history of ever... I don't remember what kind it was, some rangefinder crap one i got at a thrift store... but it did give me this picture. The only 'edit' of this pic is that it's upside, otherwise virtually untouched.

taken with a holga, $15 piece of plastic with no option to adjust anything
>> Anonymous

come to think of it, I like a lot of my holga shots. they're not exactly _great_, but they have charm. I think cheep film is always going to give you a better time than cheep digital, though.
>> Anonymous
>>65427
Of course. You could load some top-quality Velvia into a Holga, but try getting the 1Ds Mk. II's sensor into a $100 pocket camera.

thanks
haha
I really can see the film's charm in those pics!
I like your cheap camera! :D
too bad I m going with digital, I if I start a new passion I might try to buy some old good film camera for cheap.
