What makes a good photo, well, you know, good?

What are those few questions you have to ask when snapping something good?

My list-
What are you looking at?
Why are you looking at it?
What do the predominant lines lead you to, (hopefully the subject)?
Does the lighting contrast with or interfere with the subject at hand?
Does the framing conform with the rule of thirds?
Do the colors correctly portray the emotion I'm feeling of the subject (ex. black and cold by steel and silver?)

What do you think about /p/?

when i'm making a photo:

"is there any shit in the bottom corner that i'm ignoring?"
"wait, what asa is this again?"
"what's the brightest thing in the photo?"
"damn, wait. have i been shooting at 1/500 this whole time?"
"is there even film in this thing?"
"why am i even pretending to be a photographer? this is stupid. i'm hungry."

Is the subject in focus?
Is this the highest exposure I can manage without blowing anything or having motion blur?

Otherwise, I just compose intuitively. If I try thinking about it, it's just the same old shit with nice lines. I'm sort of of the HCB school of a photograph being a quick visually expressed reaction. Not that that's the only way to do it, but that's the way that works best for me.
