Does /p/ recommend any books for those who want to get into photography? I ordered this after a good friend of mine recommended it to me.

5000+ days is a good book... also Vitamin Ph by phaidon is good for inspiration. Costs a few quid though.

props for mentioning vitamin Ph. it's an excellent book, though it's got some pretty advanced ideas.

i'd say get The Photo Book, also by phaidon. less instructional and more inspirational. Really makes you appreciate how many photos there are to be made out there.

there are about a million billion books on technique out there, and it's easy to get overwhelmed. start cheap; use wikipedia or go to your library and pick up a book by ansel adams.

Thanks tripfriends, some great suggestions there. I might try a library tomorrow and see if they have anything good.
