Probably, but it depends on your needs and preferences, what lenses you own, and your budget.
The D700 will offer a larger viewfinder and higher image quality, especially at high sensitivities. Your lenses will all have wider fields of view, unless you run them in the crop mode, which negates the advantages of the D700 except less noise. You'll in fact take a cut in resolution.
The D300 is another good upgrade option. The viewfinder is the same magnification, but unlike the D200 or D700 it's full coverage. Your lenses will work just like they do now. You'll have better image quality, but the gains won't be as pronounced as with the D700.
So what lenses do you own, and what's your budget, including for replacement lenses?
