Decent light today, Felt like I was getting the feel for the new lens.

Its been a while since I shot any landscapes, lol, All this long lens stuff is quite far removed from my normal shots.

great stuff man, like the stuff you posted before

Don't you just love shooting animals that are black and white in strong light?

canon guy from last thread

this looks much better than the one you posted last time

the first picture is great but it's still not the amazing look i keep seeing from people with the same lens

Nice kit... now you've got to really kick ass with it, get the most out of it. These images aren't particularly great or eye-catching though, unfortunately.

Yes, yes I do
The real difficult part is getting close enough to these little birds. In the first pic someone helped me out by spreading birdseed on the ground prior to me showing up.

Hopefully in the next couple weeks I'll get a chance to use this lens for what I really want, Sports, Soccer (football for the Europeans), or Motocross.

Action shots are the difference, these are pretty static. I've yet to get a sharp bird in flight shot, Without the TC i can probably get the SS up into the 1/1000 range, and then with a bit of luck I should be able to catch the birds leaping from branches, and not just the soaring shots.
Most of my other shots from today were still pushing the ISO 1000 limit, which on the D200 looks a little sketchy (and kills sharpness and saturation).
Summer will be nice, much stronger light.
