My first attempt at "real" photography.

And by "real" i mean "Hey, sit still for a second" and actually thinking about what I'm doing.

For a beginner - fail? No fail?

I would let her suck my dick.

But anyway, bad lighting is bad. If it's intentional, it's fail.

You either oversaturated the colors way too much or it's just not sharp at all, even at 400 pixels.

"Exposure Mode Auto"

Oh lawd.

How is the lighting bad? I'm getting the impression that my monitor isn't giving me an accurate portrayal of what the photo is.

P.S. Tried again with way less photoshop. I'm learning here, and I suppose tact is one of the things I've gotta learn. For the record, this picture is coming off as way too bright on my monitor.

Mainly, there are ugly shadows all over her face. Notably in the eyes and the neck. Also under the nose. A softer light coming from the front would have improved the shot.

Constructive criticism? On 4chan?

I don't mind the shadow on her neck, but you're right - the shadows under her nose, her lips, her eyes, definately look like poop. Thanks.

Maybe a little fill flash to help? The light is causing panda eyes. If you stick a big piece of white card under her out of frame it will reflect some of the light up from your flash to soften those shadows. Angle it about to see what you get from different ways. Reflectors can be made out of any white boards and maybe crinkled foil (just use turkey foil squashed up and straightened back out or something) if you want more light reflected without costing you much. It also stops the chin and neck looking fatter or bulkier due to shadows in that spot.

This is a lot worse than the first one. At least the first one had some appreciable 'style' to it.

Shoot in RAW and get out of auto as well.

Picture is damn soft.

If you want to work on "real" photgraphy, work on it and not fucking photoshop

Hey, even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Too bad that in this case the clock is a digital one. ;)

I was sitting in the recording studio, bored out of my mind, so I started taking pictures. I decided to take a picture of the subject in the photo. Instead of just snapping, I actually moved her from where she was sitting to against the wall and took some shots. If I wanted to work on my photography I'd put some actual thought into it. The lighting in this room was shit and I didn't care enough to change anything.

Give up now. Good advice is wasted on you.

No, I'm open to good advice. I'm not open to "god, you suck". There's nothing constructive about that.

>>112322
Giant quotes around "real" for a reason. No shit, this sucks. No shit, I'm not good at this. Baby steps.
>> Chib
>>112325
1) Dont rely on photshop to make a good shot
2) Relectors to decrease shadows
3) Give a shit about your shots, or sell your D40 and get a P&S

That wasn't so hard, was it? I realize this is 4chan, and I realize people are dicks, but my (or anyone else's) not listening to "fuck you" advice doesn't mean you're not open to advice.

That was the most difficult thing i've ever typed.
It was actually harder than when my mom died and i IM'ed my dad telling him i wanted to sleep instead of going to the funeral

I don't like the lack of warmth in your shoop. You made her look a bit lifeless... :/
