I need to know, what does /P/ think of this photographer?

This isnt drama at all. Im not a cosplayer, but a cosplay photographer in CA. My friends in Florida go apeshit over this guy and I can't see why. It seems all of his pictures are over-contrasted, and weirdly off balance. I just was curious if anyone here had any oppinions. There's nothing against who he takes pictures of (hell female cosplayers normally make better pictures anways) I was just curious if anyone else saw the reason why people are impressed by stuff like this?

Probably for the same reason people love things like lens flare and blurred backgrounds. They see them used well, then think that having them makes them look professional.

Now, he's got skill, and apparently is easy to work with. That being said, I really don't know why they like working with him so much. I know other photographers that do better work, real editing (Mike just uses a general batch process), and are easier to work with. But hey, free is free. He seems to promote himself a lot, too; he made a big deal about how he was quitting. Like in all hobbies, I guess there are just people that take themselves too seriously.

The only thing I know is, that the girl or whatever you like it is on that picture, is fucking ugly.

But I like the photo itself. You get the intention and looks well-made.

Not a bad angle/ location. But it just looks so horribly fake. The contrast is way to high, like it was run through photoshop 5x
