is the only good one out of these. I appreciate you shooting on decent film, but your framing on all the other shots is pretty bland, and your DOF is sort of bland too. With the first shot, there's a lot of energy due to the high amount of contrast created by the light outline, and your DOF does a very good job of obscuring the background - really focusing on the subject. The only thing I don't really like at all about the first one is that giant white spot to the right. It doesn't create any useful movement at all and distracts the eye, since it is the brightest highlight in the picture.
When I look at your other pictures, where is my eye going? What am I focusing on with any real intensity? A lot of people on this board will like shot number 2 because it has a girl in it - but as someone who once touched a naked woman who was alive up until like 5 minutes before that moment, I'm not entranced by her.
Basically, learn to think about the photograph as a moving scene, and frame your subject appropriately. A portrait doesn't always have to be chest level and up. Play with it more!
P.S. Shoot some color for a while, it will be good for you.
