Hey /p/, let's petition for a reduced maximum file size. How does... 1MB sound?

Was the File size + resolution on your Original post some sort of humorous gesture?

Yes.

I concur with OP. Or at least we need a fucking sticky that says "WE DON'T WANT TO SEE YOUR FUCKING 12 MEGAPIXEL IMAGE IN ALL ITS FUCKING GLORY YOU FAGS" in bold letters.

Why exactly would you want to post in /hr/? It's only 6 pages and I'm sure not a lot of people will be interested in your pictures even if they are high res. /p/hotographers should just resize their pictures before they post here. It really isn't that hard to learn. The option for 5 meg files to be uploaded is fine. If someone wants the original of a resized image, then it's easily accessible in the same thread. It's quite simple, really.

If you can't tolerate something like this, then I don't suggest that you go to /b/.

I go to /b/ all the time, but this isn't /b/.

/p/ is meant for showing your snaps.
I'd rather 6 pages of massive images than one more "what entry level camera should I buy?" thread.

AGREED

...just post 2 pics. one small and one big.

let the masses choose what they want to download

That is what a thumbnail is for. Between that and the fact that it lists the file size, you can chose what you look at. It's not our fault you're stuck on a crappy dial-up connection.

I don't mind how fucking big the images are, as long as I can download them fast. 120KB/s is *not* fast, in fact it takes ages and then some more to download a full size pic.

The photo must be really exceptional to be worth the wait. I can't remember seeing such a good photo here in /p/.

it's not my connection that is the bottleneck, it's 4chan's. which is raped to hell and back because some idiots post all their 5meg photos without resizing or recompressing.
