Hey guys, I've ordered two tripods from Amazon, shipped with UPS. The first one's UPS shipping box was obviously opened before I got it; the tape was cleanly cut, and the box had been opened (the flap was pushed downwards). I ordered another tripod. Same thing. The tape was cleanly cut, and the shipping label was ripped apart (and the label clearly said 'shipping invoice under label'). Is someone en route from Amazon through UPS fucking with my stuff? What would you do?

could be youre getting it from some cheap amazon marketplace merchant who reuses boxes.

No, it's from Amazon itself.

US government checking for illegal stuff and recording all your mail. Don't worry, if your not doing anything illegal you have nothing to worry about.

if its been opened 'officially' then it should be resealed with special tape and normally a stamp indicating that it was opened on official business.
If its been opened just with a knife and ripped apart without any 'official' indication, then i would have a few choice words with UPS.
(i've had a couple of things opened by nz customs because the declaration label wasn't clear and it was resealed with official customs tape and stamped with reason of opening)

I know like 3 people personally that work for ups and steal shit ALL the time. so no surprise there. they see "AMAZON!!!!!!" and think "oh cool expensive shit!" and they see a tripod and say "wtf is this for? ill just tape it back up"

I order a lot of stuff from Amazon (books, CDs, even occasional cameras). Why would someone crack open these boxes with the tripod? (The box was big and rectangular with a light tripod, rather than a short squarish box that had dense books.)
