Apparently its boxed and new; but are you sure this is slr?

Get a Canon A-series instead. It'll be cheaper, smaller, and the higher end is better. Don't go for superzooms or bridge cameras. They're not stripped SLR's, they're glorified P&S's.

lol sorry, i just looked at the pic and thought its an slr

They should improve these things to fit the needs of hipsters and the like who will just be using it for snapshots. fixed wide focal f/1.8 lens, and a bit larger sensor, great high iso performance for those dark club snapshots and small swivel flash (similar to Nikon SB-400).

They should be bringing high end P&S's up rather than bring entry level dSLR's down to fill that market.

Not bad cameras to have as a back-up or compact solution if you have a DSLR already. I like having one that does almost everything (accepting the obvious cost of quality) in a compact package when SLR kits are not practical.

Screw real use, we just need it to look like an slr so people will buy it...

It looks like it has manual focus and a twist zoom. Just make the lens removable and you'd have a noisier, but silent SLR (with no mirror of course).

Are you retarded? It is that shape because it is a good and comfortable design for the hands. Get off of your high horse, the thin air up there is clearly starving your brain of oxygen.

Hyperbole, man. You're right, it's a good shape, but part of the marketing (like calling them "bridge slr's") is to make people think they're pro cameras, and the look directly ties into that.

Look at slim's rage post, for crying out loud.
