what is this effect called? when you combine several shots in one, and can it be done automatically with some in-camera effect?

Op isn't shopped guys, it was one of those Korean trends of everyone in a photo pretending they were dead or something. They are not the same person in different shots.

But regardless, you can have different exposures added to one shot, although that would essentially give a shitty HDR effect.

Why be so lazy as to want a program to do it allfor you anyway? Just set the camera up on the tripod, set to manual setting so you get the same Aperture + Shutter Speed = Same exposure everytime.
