hi /p/

I've decided to buy a prime to replace my kit lens (NIKKOR 18-135), because I'm finding it more and more impossible to use under normal light (or without strobes). And distortion. (notice the pic; it looks off, somehow.)

So, what good (cheap, pref. NIKKOR too) glass can you recommend for indoors and low-light? I'm looking for a 35mm prime, but the store doesn't have any right now. Is a 50mm 1.8 suitable? Gotta cover a field trip to a museum soon, for a magazine, and I'd like to have a new lens by then.

Thanks.
