Sears is having a clearance sale for the D50 w/ kit lens ($300), just thought I'd let you /p/hags know.
>> heavyweather !4AIf7oXcbA
Crazy good deal, especially if you're looking for an entry into the world of photography. I love my D50 to death.
>> Anonymous
heavyweather is a bigger nikonfag than jeremo lol

anything he posts is how great his d50 is
>> heavyweather !4AIf7oXcbA
>>133347
I like Nikon.

Fucking sue me, troll.

Funny thing is, the "outdated" D50 for $300 isn't any worse than any of the new $1000 cameras in terms of comfort and image quality (well, unless you're making poster-sized prints). The only annoying thing is the low-resolution LCD.
>> Anonymous
>>133350

nothing wrong with the d50, if i had the extra cash, i'd get one for a backup body

but posting about how great it is thread after thread is just being a huge fanboy faggot

>>133351
The same applies to many other old cameras. The original Rebel? Pentax *ist D? Hell, take an Olympus E-300 (which is thought to be so old and so fail it probably goes for less than $100) and you still won't be able to tell the difference from the D60 and XSi on most prints.

Nikon D50 > Canon 450D?

I don't think so. Really.

But anyway, the D50 is awesome and a good entry. 300$ seems fine.

Not ">", but "=" in most cases.

Seriously, the only improvement in camera technology during the last 5 years I actually felt was image stabilization.

Posting about how he likes his in threads specifically relevant to the D50 makes perfect sense. And this from an admittedly huge canonfag. GTFO.
>> Anonymous
>>133410

nope

he did it in a threads where it was completely off topic

some guy was asking about the 400d

he comes in and says WELL MY NIKON D50 CAN TAKE 1000 PICTURES BEFORE THE BATTERY RUNS OUT

how the fuck is that relevant?
>> sv !!vC9KZM3Ch/H
>>133411

Oh, fail.

Before heavyweather said anything in that thread, people were discussing battery life and battery grips.

Then he said>>131518

he's the biggest nikonfag since jeremo
>> Jeremo !iKGMr61IHM

Like it's a bad thing. STFU and die you little bitch.
>> ac !!VPzQAxYPAMA

Because we were all discussing digital SLR battery life in general.

i cant find any confirmation of this deal.

go fuck yourself, OP
>> fence !!POey2hdozCZ
i don't see any confirmation of this deal, either. what the fuck?

The only "D" series on the sears website is the D40 and it's going for 650.00.

it may be that just that particular store in his area is having that sale

I hate my D50 for three reasons: theres no backlight on the top lcd, theres no front command dial and it wont work as a master for my sb600.
>> Vincent !!8LCSE0Zp1mL
Ya I heard about this a couple weeks back, a few select sears stores were offloading them. I should call my local one, I would buy another one for $300.
My current one is at 35,000 shutter actuations, and I freaking love it still. I actually still prefer it for "non action shots" over my D200. Its soo easy to get good looking pics from the JPG's, I feel like I have to go a little overboard on my D200 to get the same "pop" in my images.
>> Jeremo !iKGMr61IHM
>>133624

But you bought it knowing those things, otherwise you're responsible for your own poor research.
>> Anonymous
>>133630
Yead, i knew those things when i bought it. However at that time i had no need for those features.

NIKON SENSE TINGLING!

MUST DEFEND NIKON! ARGGGGHHHHHH! ATTACK!
>> Jeremo !iKGMr61IHM
>>133636

LOL... okay that was funny :D

But seriously, how can someone blame a camera... when it was purchased by the person... i don't get that. My D70s and D200 have short comings, the D70s more so than anything else... but i've learnt to work with it.

There you go man, keep as cool as you can.
Face piles
And piles
Of trials
With smiles.
It riles them to believe
that you perceive
the web they weave
And keep on thinking free.

hmmm i've read that before... so it's not a shitty emo song... what is it?

It's classic, man. Real classic. Back when music was written and played to be listened to. Profits, heavy drug use and celestial centering of one's being were part and parcel of the biz.

Now don't get all "Moody" on me...
>> fence !!POey2hdozCZ
i went to the sears closest to me and asked around for the d50. no dice. oh well!

and jesus, guys, do your research. jeremo's like, the least faggy of the nikonfags. he only owns one. thefamilyman, vincent, des and myself are all much bigger nikonfags than jeremo.
>> fence !!POey2hdozCZ
>>133700

oh man, my memory of your gear setup has failed me sorely today. i apologize, humble prince nikon.
>> Jeremo !iKGMr61IHM
>>133702

LOL... sorry dude. I have mentioned the F6 before... but like i said... since i haven't even shot film in yonkers... it's almost as if i don't own it. And if not for sentimental value i would have sold it.

The D200 was something I always had for my 'fine art' long exposure shit. Shots i never post here though or anywhere online, mainly due to an agreement.

But look, we're just being trolled. :D
>> Vincent !!8LCSE0Zp1mL
>>133704
you use the D200 for long exposures? Don't you have a problem with amp glow?
My D200 is probably around 10x worse (no overexageration) From my D50. It was soo bad for astrophotography it ruined a few otherwise usable shots.
>> Jeremo !iKGMr61IHM
>>133706

It's much better than the D70s.

With Amp glow the D70s has a limit of about 4 minutes before it shows up. The D200 is a bit better with 6 minutes.

But with my exposures 2 minutes to 30 minutes i use the NR which shoots a black frame and gets rid of all the amp glow... sure it DOUBLES the time, but i've usually got a lawn chair, my mp3 player and a book or magazine when i'm doing it.
>> Vincent !!8LCSE0Zp1mL
>>133709
Ahh, I never used the NR, (I was shooting meteors, I didn't want to chance missing anything)
>> Falldog !2qYdimqiHs
I love my D50. I'd rather have that than the newer D40.
