I use the Sony Alpha-100, and I'm not telling you what to get or not, just my experience. The A100 often has complaints about noise above 400 ISO, but will take good pictures regardless (Noise Ninja or Neat Image). Sony lenses are based on the Minolta Maxxum/Dynax AF lenses, so there is plenty of used lenses on the market, and more coming from people jumping to other cameras. I've not checked on prices from Nikon/Canon, but fast lenses can be expensive (35 f/1.4 and 85 f/1.4 @ ~$1300 brand new)
Built-in image stability is also a plus, but if you want to focus solely on studio work (lots of lights) or landscapes (tripod and too much free time), Image stability isn't going to help you.
tl;dr: I use an A-100. I know everything wrong with it.
