DUAL RANGEFINDER ACTION. JUST INCASE THE ACTION GETS TOO HEAVY.

Uh, did you guys ignore his ANSEL WOODEN TRIPOD.

Uh, huh. Though so.

That Leicaflex is a SLR.

>>287558
People are allowed to use rangefinders for other reasons you know. That guy has an ultrawide on his, and cheap SLR ultrawides just don't exist. Also some people like me enjoy collecting little bits of history and then making up for our gearfaggery by using our old cameras even if they're not perfect for the task.

I dunno why you raged?

Should he have been using SWC instead? Because that's the only real wide amirite? 0% Distortion is all that matters anyways.

ohgod why am i feeding the troll

I like old cameras like some people like old guns or old cars or old wine or old art. The cool part with old cameras is that you can use them most of the time, unlike art which just kinda sits there unappreciated.

Apart from that, people also use newer rangefinders for reasons other than size too. Some people just like the rangefinder viewing style - I know I do.

I know we say that photography is about taking pictures and not about caressing gear, but if we take that a step further it's not just about taking perfect pictures, but more about deriving maximum enjoyment from it. And if I get more enjoyment clutching a half-dead Leica, then I'm going to do it.

I realize I just justified lomofaggotry but honestly they can do what they want.

I don't like shooting with wides either, but are you going to tell me Harvey, Koudelka, Majoli, etc. are doing it wrong?

cool story, but the idiot just stood there fondling with the laika strapped on his neck and didn't take any photo.

wait, what's the "purpose of using a rangefinder" besides taking pictures.

Okay? I'm sitting here right now with my camera on the desk next to me, but I'm not taking any pictures. People take cameras just in case they see a picture to take. If they don't, they don't. So far the only thing I've shot with it was a plastic cup with milk in it. Useful? No, I'll dump the files onto my hard drive and never look at them again, I just felt like fondling a camera, something to play with in my hands for thirty seconds. The milk cup had the light hitting it better than any other Stuff On The Library Desk.

Thank God for digital.

Oh, I agree with everything Serenar said, too. I just noticed after looking at it the seventeenth time or whatever what changing one word in one sentence would do, and then it went from there.

Awesome. I agree, in principal if not in this specific example. Subjectivity ftw.

Now, I'm off to convince women to let me make them bleed under studio lighting while heavily restrained and possibly wearing gas masks. Wish me luck.
