All sounds pretty good, if they're all good condition.

But I'm a Pentaxfag so I'm biased.

That Vivitar 28/2 kinda sucks, should've gotten the 28/2.8 version instead. But other than that, nice set.

Pentex?!

can i ask where you got this from? i've been looking for one FOREVER because mine has wicked leaks everywhere and i want a newer one.

car boot sale, the guy had gone diital a while ago and hadn't used it for about ten years apparently.
I'm checking the internal seals and that for light leaks as I've heard pentax used a lot of rubber and foam in the design which can crack up.

Also does anyone have any tips for what sort of film to use? i'm thinking about doing some black &white stuff.
The local chemists doesn't stock anything apart from a 400iso kodak and looked at me like i'd taken a dump on the counter when I asked if they had anything else.
I'm assuming I want a fairly low iso and something that automated processing machines get good results with.

yeah, i walked into a ritz and came out with 3 rolls of kodak b&w...needless to say when i brought it back to ritz they gave me 3 rolls of developed film, and they all came out fucked up shades of blue and yellow and green and were just horrible.

then they told me it was my fault that i bought the film in the first place.

If you want black and white and automated processing, you have basically two options: Kodak BW400CN and Ilford XP2. Both ISO400.

If you want interesting B&W film, you're going to have to either find yourself a good lab or, ideally, learn to do it yourself.

Was it BW400CN? If it was something like TMax, then it was, in fact, your fault for buying it and trying to get it developed at Ritz.

any help to you?

What a coincidence. I just picked up a working Honeywell Pentax SP1000 for 3 dollars at a yard sale. I actually like playing with it.
