in b4 faggotry and trolling.

anyways, Anyone here have any experience with making their own darkroom? I'd like to try and set up a darkroom in my home. I've got access to an alright 35mm canon. From what i understand you're best off sticking to black and white photo production at home and using labs sendouts for color?

any help would be great :-)

it's pretty easy - just make sure your room has no light leakage whatsoever, like in the basement or something. Make sure you have room to make quite a mess as well. Even if you're real careful, solution gets everywhere and can stain some materials. If you're working with Black and White you'll probably be able to use a red/orange light to see what you're doing (which is why doing color photos is much much harder - you must be in complete darkness as the emulsion is sensitive to all visible light.) After that it's simply a case of getting the right chemicals, paper (someone else might know details, chemistry isn't really my subject.) and getting a general feel for it. Test strips are your friend, as well.

Glad to see there's still a few people out there interested in hand-processing :)

watch your local craigslist, I sometimes see stuff going for free or cheap as free
