/p/, I'm sorta confused about the whole APS-C sensor thing and the multiplication behind it. So, say, I'm looking at Nikon - 1.5X and Canon, which is 1.6X. For example, if we're looking at the 10-20mm from Sigma, would the Nikon version be wider than the Canon (15mm vs 16mm)? Or how does it work?

that is correct. On the flipside, a 70-200 will look farther on a canon than the nikon

Nikon. 10x1.5= 15mm
Canon. 10x1.6 =16mm

The nikon will be wider when using that lens.

5D's a really good camera. It's talked about and overrated for all the wrong reasons (stupid, drooling full frame snobbery/envy) but I know someone who was a photographer for thirty years, worked with Nikon F2s and F3s, view camera, occaisonally even Ms, and says that the 5D is the best camera he's ever worked with for getting the photographs he wants.

Now, someone probably says that about the D3, too.
