Nikon D2HS Anonymous
any of you tough guys ever used a D2HS? I always wanted one but they were too expensive. Now that the prices on the used market have dropped, I am thinking about again

>>laughable resolution

you have obviously never shot for money or even talked to someone who has. Did you know that there are double page spreads in magazines even today that are shot with resolution less than 5 mp?

Your friend : that's the most beautiful girl I have ever seen
You : but her tits are only c cup, that's no good. Get that average looking girl with the D's

It's the D2HS' output that I like.

I can get a D2HS for less than a new D300.

That was sarcasm if you didn't notice. 8 fps also isn't exactly "fearsome" nowadays.

Btw, I know one photographer who was shooting with a 5mp camera for a magazine; one of his major complaints was that 5MP is enough for one full page, but not enough for a full spread. However, he had to put up with it because Olympus screwed him by not making a new pro camera for 5 years, lol.

Why D2Hs and not D2H? The differences are subtle at best, and the latter is like 2 times cheaper.

does the D2H have the same sensor as D2HS?

I had a D2x (until I broke it) and it was an excellent camera. I want one again, but can't afford it at the moment. It's basically the same as the D2h other than resolution and speed, so if 4mp will suit your needs then I'd say go for it.

Yes. The D2Hs just has a buffer twice as big and some tweaks in metering and AF systems.

I have a D2X. I'd go with it over the D2HS, shouldn't be a huge price difference.
