PL or CPL for landscape? Anonymous
what's the difference between the linear and circular?

and is getting the 77mm the best option because you can always make it fit on smaller lenses?

AF has some troubles with linear polarizers, so you should get a circular polarizer (CPL) if you have a digital camera.

A good 77mm filter will be much more expensive and unless you have any lenses of that size, I would advise sticking with something smaller, maybe 58mm or so.

i have 52, 55 and 58mm but plan on buying a lens with 77mm size one day

so i don't really want to buy 2 different filters or try to sell off the old one :/

Buy the 58mm. Then when you buy your lens with a 77mm filter ring just buy a 77mm cpl. Then you have two. Woohoo.

meh, the 58mm is my 18-55, i won't use it anymore once i replace it with either a 17-40, 17-55 or 10-22, haven't decided yet

so it's $60 i would never use again ;[
