Being a poorfag, I still haven't gotten around to buy a digital camera. Picture related.
This thing is like over thirty years old, but it still works like a charm.

Only Mediumf pentax i've managed to use was the 67II. Results varied; I personally prefer the Bronica SQ(?not sure on model number) The Bronica felt more sturdy & had a better build in my opinion.

Hard to explain, but the K1000 feels solid in your hands, the D80 doesn't balance that well, I found.
Also when taking a photo, the AF I find on the d80 scouts around abit, and has trouble finding a point. Manual focus is pointless with the nikon viewfinder. On the otherhand the Pentax, although only manual focus, has a bright - clear finder, making it easy to focus accordingly.

When using the K1000 I felt like I was in control over everything, but with the D80, even in manual mode, I still feel i'm fighting with it. Its just not the same.

Why not use a FM2 instead of the K1000? Simply because I find the nikon FM* range have stupid extras which hinder me. For example the lever to advance the film, if its pressed down the shutter doesn't release. Or the little 'safety' switch at the side of the shutter. I assume its for using the bulb function, although i've never bothered to try.

K1000 + digital back would be perfect.

Oh god how I love Pentax's old SLRs.I've been using an SP1000 (basically the same as a K-1000) since I started taking pics. The battery for the light metre died, and it's been a battle trying to find a replacement. I was making due with a shit digital, but it's unbelievable how much I missed that Pentax. I'm learning how to use a hand-held light metre right now.

Film is so goddamn wonderful. It's got a whole atmosphere. There's the weight of one of these in your hands, the satisfying click it makes when you take a pic, actually having to wait to see your pictures... *film orgasm*

I too lurve my K1000.
Just curious, is it possible to use a film lens on a dSLR?

Very good. The 645's have very good metering systems. I just really don't like the push button interface and LCD of the manual focus, and I don't like auto focus, which are the two big reasons why I went with Mamiya. But Pentax it tops.

As long as they have the same mount, they should work.

Is 50 euros (60 Dollars) a good prize for a K1000 with a 50mm lens? I might buy it.

Spotmaticfag here. I've heard there's adapters for fitting the old M42 screw-mount lenses into the K-mount of modern Pentaxes. Might be clumsy to use though, as there's no lens stop-down pin in modern SLR lens mounts...

I have a Pentax ME Super, and I love it!

I got it from my grandma who got it from a dead guy(he left everything to her). There was a roll of film already in the camera, but I don't want to know what's on it lol.

shooting with film is so much more rewarding. i shot a bunch of rolls this summer and was so, so pleased when i got them back and saw that i didn't have to rely on checking the screen to be sure i was getting a good shot.
