>>176208 Well see, here's the problem.
If you're right up against the stage, you'll need either a wide or a normal if you want to do more than grab portraits of them.
If you're farther, you'll need a medium tele to get a wider view and a longer tele for tight shots.
My suggestion: Buy a 50/1.8, an 85/1.8, and a film body, used to cut down on your costs. Then you're covered from 50mm on film to 136mm equivalent on digital. You've got some overlap, with the 85mm on film and the 80mm equivalent 50mm on digital, but oh well.
Alternative, but slightly pricier: a 28mm or 35mm lens replacing the 50. You'll have wide (28 or 35mm on film), normal (28 or 35mm on digital), medium tele (85mm on film) and long medium tele (85mm on digital). But the 28/2.8, 28/1.8, and 35/2 are all more expensive than the 50/1.8.
As for film, what hours of the day and date are you going to be shooting, so we can suggest one of the right ISO?
Good luck, read up on photographic technique, study good concert photos, and bring back some pictures.
