"Mia De Fleur paints her pain
with uncommon style. The
bold strokes of her brush
reveal the human universe
as only a true artist knows..

Her art inflames the mind with
passion and beauty. But make
no mistake: that beauty defies
convention with artistic truth.

True art is born of suffering and
the human experience. By that
measure, Mia De Fleur engages
the viewer with power, born of
surviving unbearable hardships,
today, still standing strong.

I proudly call her my friend."

A "testimonial" on her profile page.

What's happening with that so far then? I'm getting virtual blue balls waiting for the results of this.

She has some good shots, but nothing that warrants that kind of praise. And she could cut easily cut out 3/4 of that stream.

Exactly. If someone can really take more than, say, fifty photographs genuinely worth showing in a year they should be in Magnum, not on Flickr. Ansel Adams only considered himself to make about twelve good works a year.

And do you know what else irks me about Flickr, more even than the sycophants? How the people on there call everything a "capture." It's just so rotten and awkward-sounding. "Picture." "Photograph." Even "exposure" is at least an actual photographic term.
