i cant imagine any entry level slr being very good for astrophotog
olys are a bit noisy, live view will make this worse. i read somewhere that the some of the noise is caused from the sensor heating up so you should keep the live view and shit off as much as you can.
the digital zoom in live view is really only useful if you have something really bright to focus on, i use a lazer pointer sometimes but thats not going to help with stars, but then again you just have to focus to infinity.
have a shitty pano i made that shows you cant really focus if its really really dark
my e-510 is great though im sure youl like it but im not sure its a great idea for what your looking at.
