Hi guys, I've been thinking on getting this lens used for about 165$ (which is cheap for being in scandinavia, it's about the price of a 50/1.8). What do you suggest? Is it a decent lens? I know the small aperture sucks but I'll probably use it mostly in bright sunlight anyway. Are there better lenses for the same price?I shoot nikon btw.EXIF data available. check out 55-200 VR from NikonI like this one so much better then Sigmas piece of shit
>>175339Almost double the price used and only 200mm. I guess VR would be nice though.
>>175340"ONLY"?Where do you need over 450mm? Birds? Lol!
hey does anyone here have any experience with the sigma 18-200mm f3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM? i'm considering getting one soonCamera-Specific Properties:Camera SoftwareAdobe Photoshop CS WindowsImage-Specific Properties:Image OrientationTop, Left-HandHorizontal Resolution72 dpiVertical Resolution72 dpiImage Created2007:09:20 09:56:21Color Space InformationsRGBImage Width160Image Height216
>>175347watMy longest is now 600mm
18-200 f2.8 > EVERY FUCKING LENS EVER MADE
>>175355why would you need 900mm (crop)?
>>175354Non OS version is pretty decent for what it is - an inherently crap design. If you must have 18-200, and can't afford the Nikon, it'll do.
>>175373its 600mm on crop, but there are always reasons for more range. When i was taking pics of surfers even 450mm was waaay to short, i dont think 600mm (and f-forever) would be long enough for that either.
>>175378not on a nikon, canon fag here...i've just read that the HSM isnt available for canon bodies...fuck...
>>175337God damn, I played with that lens recently dude. IT FUCKING BLOWS COCKS, and not the good way.
slow, bad quality image, badly built, awkward ergonomics and fucking huge, though there isnt much to do about that last aspect.
