Agree with eku--the closeup doesn't really work here. It reminds me of the various junk I'd find on muddy construction sites as a kid--not in a nostalgic or otherwise good way, but just in mundaneness. The angle is kinda boring, too, as noted by Anonymous, and it looks like the bones have been carefully laid out for the shot. Dull.
The bones -themselves- are interesting, and the plus contrast is much the improvement. As far as the current composition goes, it's handy having the bones in a bit of a pit, given that the shadow therein frames the lighter bone.
