Nice, sharp, great bokeh... but goddamn what I wouldn't give to move that bird to the left half the distance from where it is now to the edge. Would have 2/3's it up and been nice.

Wow, congratulations on getting the bird to look at you, O_O;
Whenever I take bird shots, they seem to look at my face and run away.. wonder why

Anyway, nice shot, must've been early in the morning? c:

You must have a severe appearance deficit.

Quality is crap because of zoom. Didn't dare to get too close.

Oh hai, I upgraded your picture.

The boarder is the least important, but I feel it adds to the framing.

The bird is now no longer dead-center. It's placed left so it has room to "look" right into the photo.

The wooden post has been removed from the image, which was distractiing.

I couldn't fix the overexposure on the bird's head, but that's a minor problem. And all this in about two minutes in a freeware graphics editor.

vastly superior

nice... but goddamn, does it really need the black frame?

Other than the border, this is a surprisingly good edit.

Ah, cropping, it can turn a snapshot into a photograph.

I prefer to call it dual stage composition.

White may have been better. Or since this is the interbutt, maybe nothing would have been fine. Either way, it was something added in about 10 seconds. Point here being that a minute of thought can make a photo a LOT better. in five minutes, you could try out several borders (and none) and see which would work best.
