Why do they even try? What is it this time? A 4mp sensor that they'll claim is 150mp?

I was more intersted in their DP2.

40mm f/2.8 equivalent lens = nice (though a f/2 would be so much nicer)
No word on performance improvements = hmm...

DP1 was a big failure, but they have to pretend it was awesome to keep the fans happy and fool new customers into buying it.

That's right--both paid Sigma staff *and* their immediate family members liked it!

DP2 would've been interesting if the u4/3 line hadn't completely stolen their thunder. SD15's about as interesting as the SD14 was.

I thought about buying a DP1. When I handled it I realized it was just about the most annoying camera possible. It's way too small, and the they charge you 150 bucks for an optical viewfinder is unforgivable. Who was that supposed to be for?

you forgot to mention it's slow as shit

If they'd come out with a full-frame Foveon sensor you can bet I'd pick one up. The increase in resolution and color sharpness you get from that is pretty incredible. An 8MP foveon sensor (they'd sell it as 24) in 135 full-frame would be really fucking awesome.

DPreview:

>We handled the DP2 prototype but it is too early to say whether the inclusion of the new 'True II' processor has significantly improved its performance compared to the DP1.

We all understand what this means, right?
