ID me this early Leica rangefinder with what seems to be a fixed (or screwmount?) 50mm lens. Is this rare? Loli?

The lens is a fake 50/3.5 collapsing Elmar made from a Russian lens. I'm not as up to date on my bodies but this probably indicates that the body is fake too - show me the engravings and I can confirm.

The Leica II (your model, supposedly) didn't come in that color, as far as I know, so if this were real it'd be fabulously rare. But the lens is a glaring fake - a real one would say 5cm, not 50mm.

The lens is a definite fake, it's a re-engraved Soviet Industar-50. As>>191726said, a real Elmar should say "f=5cm" instead of "F=50mm" (also note the lowercase "f")

The body can be either a well-made fake (most fakes don't care to imitate the L-shaped metal frame of the viewfinder window) or a real Leica with replaced body covering. There are several guides on the internets on how to distinguish a real Leica from a fake.

Id like to actually own one of those fake leicas. They were made from zorkis and feds, right?

Also is it cheaper to get one thats fake leica or one that still has the original markings.

Yep. Buy a normal Zorki/Fed though - the Leica fakery is to jack up the price of cosmetically decent but functionally dead cameras.

If you want one that works, check fedka.com or okvintagecamera.com. Both sell at a bit of a markup, but they're great people to deal with and will happily help you work out any problems with their products.
