I recommend this
>> Ken Rockwell
The D40 is a great camera that I would recommend to anyone. I use it for everything, serious or personal. I also wouldn't bother getting any other lenses unless you want to waste your money.

Is this the pro model of the Superzoom 321 and the Sony Alphail?

No this is.

That kid probably takes better pictures than Butterfly does.

Oh I see. Squareish body, no built-in flash, rugged construction. Whereas>>122319is a prosumer body and the Superzoom 321 is a D40X with the 18-200.

(Somebody shoop a picture of Ken Rockwell shooting with the Superzoom 321.)

oh newfag if you had lurked enough you would have seen some of my pics (infact my entire gallery) and wouldnt have to say probably, good job failing.

Post your gallery again. I don't think anyone here remembers seeing it.

(Not the newfag above or a newfag, by the way.)

Get the D40X.

It's a little bit more money, but the "X" stands for "Better"

you keep talking about this gallery, yet there is no proof of it and no body remembers seeing it.

Nice fail /p/haggot

Is part of the reason I continue to be a tripfag.

I'm a minor newfag. Not oldfag yet, but new enough that I probably missed your album.

I'm honestly interested. I think you're the only tripfag that I've never seen photos of. So If you could post it again I'd like to take a look.

Thanks.

Ofc one of the reasons i dont post my work much is that i keep it on a different machine to the one i generally browse on.

Have something not particually awesome, you can wait till I update my gallery till you get a link to it again.

DON'T BUY A D40. YOU WILL REGRET IT THE SECOND YOU WANT TO BUY A PRIME LENS.

BUY A USED D50. CAPS LOCK.

here.

I've been here since... December of '06, I think? It was either that or April of '07.

Around what time did you post that? Because in mid-August and late December of 2007 there were two about two-week periods where I wasn't on /p/ at all.

H-H-Hijacking this thread.

I have a D40 and thinking about getting some new glass for it. Should I get the Sigma 30mm 1.4 or the HSM Tamron 17-50mm 2.8?

OP:
Do you have some old Nikon lenses already? If not, then the lack of AF on old lenses shouldn't bother you. Go get the D40.

Remember the surf thread, im quite sure i posted it in that.

Enough, sleep.

(ive noticed no one ever comments on my photos, whats wrong not actually crap?)

I do, and remember commenting that they were pretty well-composed, but looked a little flat and could've use some post-processing to fix that.

I don't remember seeing the link there, but then again I don't know if I followed the thread much after that.

In the "buy a used DSLR" line, one of the best ideas I can think of is a used Pentax *istD model. AFAIK, it's the only entry-level DSLR with two control dials, and according to this ( ) it has better viewfinder magnification than any APS-C sensor DSLR except the Kx0D, which it ties.

I took this with my D40. It's pretty easy to use if you're not a photography n00b. I'd recommend it if it weren't for the fact that you have to buy specific lenses for it.
