in digital, you can feel free to just call it processing your photos.
1) after you download your photos, are they backed up? double check.
2) give them all a first pass. look at each one, give each a snap judgement, and then go again- this time, mark out the standouts and rename them or put them in a new folder.
3)correct each good photo the absolute minimum needed to get a passable photograph; leave them as close to untouched as you can.
4) walk away from the computer, get laid, get a drink, read a book, whatever. then come back and repeat 2 and 3.
5) look at your good photos, and crop etc until you get something that you say 'whoa'. order prints.
6) kill yourself becuase you haven't calibrated your monitor in two years and you basically just shat on and then burned in a trash can $58 dollars.
