Hey /p/, novice photographer here with a bit of a problem... I have several hundred pictures from trips that I've taken over the past year or so, ranging from Mexico to California to Italy, Austria, France, etc... in addition to a number of family pictures, like my sister's wedding and other events. Needless to say, there are a lot of pictures. Normally I'd upload everything to Google photos with Picasa, but they have a file limit which I've... kind of hit. I have the option to upgrade, and the price is good for the space( I'd get nine gigabytes of storage for something like 25 dollars per year), and I have no qualms with feeding the behemoth that is Google, but is there a free photo hosting service that lets you upload all of your images without limits?

If they resize my images, that's fine too, so long as they don't make it something paltry and unrecognizable. I know Google kind of messes with the images and gets relatively small file sizes while maintaining fairly high resolution, so I can't complain.

Pic related, and I am sorry that there's a bit of glare. I was in a bus with a bunch of other people at the time. Also, my computer crashed and my Google photo album sort of saved the day because it still had everything. Well, everything that I had uploaded.

Fine, I'm going to post photos once every hour until someone pities me and gives me an answer.

Or until I fall asleep.

What is a good free( or REALLY worth the money) image/album hosting solution?

Just go through all your old photos and start deleting the crap.

Not only will it make more room for your other photos, it will also make your gallery that much better.

But I like my photos... Is there no photo-hosting solution that gives you unlimited storage?
>> Anonymous
>>96389
buy some hard drives, they're relatively cheap
>> Anonymous
>>96496
Yeah, but it feels safer with Google and its redundant data setup. Also, "buying new hard drives" doesn't really fall under the "free" category...

>>96498
buy a bunch of them and set up a RAID 1, that will get you redundancy

Still completely missing the free idea. If I wanted more space for money, I'll pay Google the 20 dollars and get 10 GB, in which case we're just wasting our time here.

Unless /p/ is out of lame attempts at witty responses.

What's the size of all of your photos combined?
>> Anonymous

PAY THE FUCKING $20 THEN
>> Anonymous
you could pay yahoo $24 and get unlimited storage.

Register for a bajillion free web hosting accounts. Use one to set up a website with links to the photographs at all the places they're scattered.

/thread.

Altogether it was probably like 3 GB but when it gets up to Google it'd probably be like 1.x at this point since Google optimizes the image's file size.
>>96509
/thread. You guys don't HAVE to give me free storage ideas, just tell me if there are any or if I'm better off just expanding my album size.

flickr is $25/yr for unlimited storage.

Does anyone have experience with flickr? All I've ever heard of them is bad stuff about censorship and copyright infringement. I don't have anything worth stealing and there's nothing even questionable, but I'm still interested in knowing how well they run things.

basically anywhere you post your pictures its gonna be the same in regard to copyrights and censorship. unless of course you are the one hosting it.

That's true. I think the "problem" with Flickr is that everyone uses it, so if someone wants a picture of the Colosseum in Rome, they just search "Colosseum" and get an image, potentially yours.
The same could be done with Google images. People just don't bother searching it because there are MANY more photos to choose from with Flickr.
