Well, awesome. The moron at CVS ruined my only roll of Superia I took on the slopes of Santa Fe while it was snowing and awesome. Brilliant. The other one was fine, but was just touristy stuff I snapped in town. Enjoy?

Wonderful little moment of serendipity here... would've been nicer if I'd had a longer lens with me than a 50.

Yarr samurai! Yarr, incandescent light with outdoor balanced film!

Finally, disgruntled snowman spreads holiday disgruntlement.

Kinda looks like the glasses are vibrating. Like from the reflections, not because you're a moron who can't hold your camera still. It's pretty cool.

On the other hand, if you'd had a lens longer than 50mm, you couldn't have gotten as much of the building in there, and the building is a big part of why this shot's awesome. It's birds flying over this neat bit of architecture, not just specks of animal in the sky.

Still wanna know the process behind this.

Also: Bump because I have a sweaty man-crush on Heavyweather.

so how did they ruin your film, enough bitching more explaining.

The only post-processing done was a slight tone wash in Picnik. Everything else in-camera, astoundingly. Shot through a foggy window that I had rubbed clear only in the central portion. It was snowing and extremely foggy outside, and I was shooting wide open at f/2, 1/1000s exposure. I love the grain, beats me how it got there with ASA 100 film, but there you go.

Why the HELL are you taking your film to a CVS? You should know better!

seriously, shouldn't you be doing it yourself, ideally ?

C41 (and color film in general, really) is a bitch to process at home. Unless you have tens of thousands of dollars worth of minilab in your basement.

(I'm hoping that, with the decline in popularity of film, there will be a lot of minilabs up for sale on eBay for cheap in the near future)
>> heavyweather !4AIf7oXcbA
>>104930
I don't have the resources to outlay C41 processing, or the space. I do my own black and white development, but that's it.

Dallas has an extreme paucity of good photo labs. BWC is the only one I know of, and they were way on the other side of town, and I have no transportation of my own, so oh well.

yea that's right

but imo film photography supplies don't seem to be getting cheaper. enlargers are still expensive as fuck, the film and paper is outrageous in my mind, and then you have to go through the trouble of finding a place to have the film developed that won't fuck it up.

if you're lucky like i am, you get to use the lab at the college.

New stuff is still as expensive as ever. Used film stuff is getting pretty damn cheap, though.

that sucks :( but isn't it more worthwhile to drive the longer distance than risk someone who doesnt' know what they're doing messing with your film? I refuse to take my film anywhere aside from my two very trusted labs
>> ac !!VPzQAxYPAMA

I wish I had a very trusted lab. Not a lot of places around here that I know of that'll do anything other than C41 135. I've taken to just shipping my film out when I shoot slides.

It surely is, but I'm not the one behind the wheel. :(

I miss Austin. :(((
