Reading this, it hit me: by 2010, Leica will have its hands in every area of digital imaging except computers and printers.

Small-format: Its providing of lens designs to Panasonic, for compacts and bridge cameras, and the rebadging of select models.
"Prosumer:" Again, through Panasonic, lenses and rebadging, with Four-Thirds.
Professional photographers and rich wankers: The M8 and 36x24mm R10.
Highest-quality professional cameras: The S system.
Processing: Its brand new alliance with Phase One, behind Capture One.
Projection: They've got a new projector.

Now, it'll have a small niche in all of these, but it'll be there, and if these big plans pan out for Leica, in twenty years or so it could actually be major again, in tangible, objective terms and not just in the subjective way it is today.

Also, Leica: it's for the pros. (Pic taken from here, which is also where I got the link to that article:

How many megapickles?

I wouldn't even be able to afford the insurance for this camera, never mind the retail price of it to start with.
