got around to soup some film. my perception kept evolving last months, this is one of the last rolls of film I shot in Greece. these are all street photography taken with a rangefinder.

first: dogs of the TEI
the TEI (technological institution of education) was my school there. street dogs roam around school and sleep anywhere

I noticed the girl on the right, but not that they were a freshly joined couple. Whatever, I snapped and made my way out quickly.

First time I got in such trouble when she started to hunt for me at school so I would remove the photo. They were just together, didn't want to be seen together etc. Too bad this isn't digital. Thank god I had the 1% chance of knowing the boy and he could calm her

I like the play of shadows in both pictures, but I really think they would be better without the ugly noise.

Also, the girl is an enemy of art.

:)
it's tri-X in DD-X. last months I shot all digital so I'm getting used to processing film again. tri-x is grainy alright (its not noise), but only in the second photo it looks bad alright.

No, its bad in the first picture as well. The dog is full of dots.

Woo Teus. Sweet stuff. Maybe you could just compress them less, so digitards wouldn't call lovely grain "noise".

I heard various horror stories about lighting and contrasts from "northerners" like us who went on holidays to southern countries, but you seem to have handled it just fine. Ever had to use gradual ND or somesuch?

I might have been tricked if someone told me this was Bresson. Except the lens flare maybe. My favourite of the bunch, with>>59678coming close second.

So, she started chasing you over a photo of her *sitting on a bench* with a guy? She must've had something to hide then. Pff, women.

Leaning horizon tells me you took taste in Greek wine. ;)

hey, thanks for the feedback. I'll look into the noise. I used mogrify to batch resize the photos... I guess I forgot to specify compression manually

well yeah, these photos were taken under more forgiving conditions (overcast & evening). when I just arrived I had tri-x loaded in my olympus XA, and had to shoot 1/500 f/16-f/22. I started to shoot plus-x after that. I should've bought 2 bulk rolls of plus-x and only one of tri-x instead. now I work digital, shooting tri-x outside in bright light doesn't give advantages, only lower resolution... its only handy in lowlight.

hehe, thanks. framing works well, but I should avoid taking such bad flare into it alright.

I posted on some local forum, nobody likes the first two at all. pretty hard to explain them they don't know street photography like HCB and so don't understand it. then they start rambling you should understand a photo immediately

I don't know what to say to this. it took me so long to get an understanding and insight into street photography...

naaah. took this photo a bit tilted and open. place felt pretty insecure.

looks like I forgot to post one, here's the last one

I love this shot and I would love to see the owners face when they find the car with out its wheels. The other shots are good as well. :)
