Why?
What's wrong with these cameras?

I want a Pentax so I can use old lenses...

can't we all just get along? ;_;

The K10D is better in terms of quality, but there are a few new features in the K200D. Overall, the K10D would probably be a better deal at this time due to its relative age.
I own a K10D, myself, and never regret purchasing it.

Thanks for the info.
I almost bought the K100D Super when they went on sale at Christmas, but I temporarily lost my job and didn't have the free cash...

I have to do a lot of product photography at my new job and our current camera (old Canon DSLR) has a shit lens and is hard to work with, so I'd like to get something to replace it that I can also use for my own freelance photography.

Has it ever occured to you that you _could_ get a new lens for the Canon and have instant profit?

Getting the Pentax doesn't magically make it better for product photography than any other camera.

I don't have any control over the lenses for that camera. The higher ups bought the camera (Canon EOS10D) and lens (Promaster Spectrum 7 19-35mm) and as far as they're concerned that's it.

My options are:
1) Work with what they've given me (which means fixing blurry images).
2) Buy a lens for their camera with my own money. (No. Just... No.)
3) Buy a camera/lens for my own personal use that I could also use at work.

I know the Pentax won't solve all my problems, but I've been told that the kit lens it comes with is significantly better than the one I'm currently using, and using my camera at work would help me get used to using it a lot quicker.

Ask them to buy it with promise of instant profits. You might get promotions too.

If not, sure go ahead. Nothing wrong with it/
