Shopping at MPEX aren't we?
It says it requires "an additional hot shoe adapter for your flash". But most good swivels should have interchangable mounting points, either those bigger screws that attaches to ball heads or those smaller screws that attaches to cameras directly. My Dot Line Umbrella Swivel attaches to my Bogen 3373 stand by those large screw thingies, and it also has a hot shoe adapter. Oh if yours does, do cover up the metal part where the flash sits with tape. I find those double sided foam tape layered 2 or 3 times are great for preventing damage to your flash, and getting it to sit flush on the Dot Line.
But really, the reason you want a separate light stand is that you can use your tripod at the same time, and with a light stand, the only obstruction to your light getting reflected off the umbrella is one skinny pole, not the intersection of 3 meaty tripod legs.
