Fast autofocus, great color reproduction. Heavy as hell. I suggest a monopod.

Speaking of turning off the VR... There exist a lot of variants of this 80-200/2.8 lens. I'm a bit worried the the added features like VR will affect the basic optical quality. For VR, you have to add some elements in the light path inside the lens.

Don't worry. Those 80-200mm's don't have VR. Only the 70-200mm has VR.
