So /p/ I have a question.
My grandpa was real into photography, and I've basically got all his old cameras. One of them is a Leica M4 with a few nice Carl Zeiss lenses, the problem however is one of them has what looks to be a spot of mold in the inside of it. I was under the impression I could take it in somewhere to get it fixed, but I'm not really sure.

Is it salvageable? And if it is, am I at risk of getting ripped off? I don't want to take that lens in and walk out with a different one without knowing.

Check completed eBay listings for prices, but I'd say a cleaning is in order if you're planning to use the stuff. The lenses aren't worth that much (except maybe the 'lux, but it's a pretty early version), but cleaning is still cheaper than a newer lens. And they're all great performers.

It's worth a fucking fortune. Get it cleaned and serviced properly and you can use it for years to make great photos or sell it.

No it isn't. Definitely a great user, but you'd be an idiot to think this is some kind of goldmine.

Dude, it's worth a fair bundle. A summilux alone is worth a LOT, but a nice old 35 summaron, and 90 elmar on top of that? Holy fuck man, that's enough for tuition.

The 'lux goes for less than 1000 on eBay, I'd bet, given that newer versions are only just hitting 1000 on Ffordes and Adorama, and this is probably pretty old school. The Summaron is 500 at best, and the Elmar no more than 200, I'd say. Body goes for around 1000, so total that's around $2700 worth of gear. Sounds like quite a a bit, but then lots of /p/ has that much sunk into a DSLR system and nobody says they have fortunes - just jobs.

Your school must suck if that can cover tuition XD
