Heya /p/, I have a question for you.

I manage a portrait studio, part of a chain (We're pretty big) and as large companies are slower to evolve, my studio is just now about to finally make the jump from traditional film to full digital.

We're getting a custom version of ExpressDigital Darkroom Professional
(http://www.expressdigital.com/products/epsdarkroom.shtm) and I've been messing around with the enhancement options on the demo version.. seems like super-watery Photoshop.

In any case, does anyone here have any experience with that particular program? are there any certain enhancement tricks that really wow typical clients and get them to purchase more?

Oh CPI. What awful memories.

I worked at a sears portrait studio for a bit. The one I was at is still using film. For awhile they got a digital camera for passport photos, but they made slightly less money from passport pictures immediately after they got it, so the higher-ups figured it must be the camera, and made them switch it back for the old film one.

The head office christmas post card is always pretty funny, too.

They actually thought something that would cut overhead was why the passport business made less money?

What time of year was it? That's probably their answer.
