hey /p/ photo noob here. im alright but i cant find and reading material past the level of how to take pictures and herp derp the auto button solves everything. can /p/ suggest anything (online prefered as i am cheap but if its a worthwhile book im not opposed to buying it. Pic related.

google 'composition basics' my friend. also, rule of thirds.

research the relationships between ISO(or ASA), aperture (f number) and shutter speed (1/x" number).

The principles and theory you learn will aid you in all your photography, no matter what the camera.

As far as escaping auto, force yourself to use at least A & S modes (Av, Sv, Tv). That will teach you what effect you can get from the same shot with one (manually set) different setting. Then you can move to M(anual) without being swamped.

I'm no pro, but these things helped me feel more confident and produce more nice shots
