Nikon D50.

I use only the best. And I can drive nails with it.

Wow is that an actual serious response?

If it is, you're still way off. Every Nikonfag knows it's the D2Xs.

Ive got both. The D80 is win but cant help thinking i should of saved for the D200.

Also F100 is pretty much the benchmark for Film photography.

The D40!!! Huuuuuaaah!
>> ac !!VPzQAxYPAMA
There is no "best". Different cameras are better for different purposes. D3 sucks for discreet shooting, D40 sucks for ultra high ISO, D80 is absolutely horrible for shooting Fuji Velvia slides, and the JPEGs out of the Nikon FG are terrible unless you buy a scanner.

Use the right tool for the job.

Also: Saging shitty gear thread.

QFT, although I will say that as a general-use DSLR (note: "general use" and "D") the D300 probably is the best made yet by anyone.

>D80 is absolutely horrible for shooting Fuji Velvia slides

Velvia is a famous, legendary slide film. The D80, by virtue of being digital, cannot shoot Velvia and get the unique look of Velvia. He was in no way casting aspersion on the D80's ability to produce a digital file.
