/p/, what lens would you recommend for a /p/oorfag to photograph concerts, operas, shows, and other situations with low light and long distance from the subject? I got my first DSLR (a D60) not long ago. Still learning, studying, and all. I'm on a really low budget, and I'm having some trouble really finding a lens that would suit my needs.Do you have any suggestions? I don't know if I should priorize apperture or focal distance. Is the 55-200 any good? Is there anything better than that that is not too expensive?Pic unrelated, random pic from my 4chan folder

>>260708BIGMA IS THE ANSWER.
>>260708I use the 55-200 on my D40 and it's good enough bang for the buck. Works well with soccer, use the kitlens for basketball, should have brought it to the volleyball game today but forgot it and my flash.
get the 55-200 VR
Try the 70-300VR as well, it's AFS so will AF on your D60 too, it's much better optics and although more expensive, it's well worth it.I think it has the rubber gasket sealing at the lens mount as well, don't quote me though.
