I won one in a raffle. Then I gave it to a friend as a birthday present. While she was using it, I was kind of surprised at the lens speed. I think it's decent. But some people won't like the way it fits in their pockets as it's brick shaped. But holding it is a bit less awkward than the SD/IXUS models.

Agree, for a bit more of the prize of a470 is better get A590IS on more MP, smaller and with Optical Image Stabilization.x4 optical zoom..
But I think it doesn't support CHDk either.

How do you take a picture of a camera, anyway?
I didn't think cameras could take pictures of themselves.

It's easy.
You just put the camera down, and turn on the self timer, so it will take the picture 10 seconds later.
Then you move the camera into position while the timer counts down. It will take the picture of itself that way!
