the white dots that appear on the 1 key and 3 key show up in every picture that i have taken so far.

hot pixels, yeah. Every camera has them, and if you have photoshop (or MS Paint) they're an easy fix.

And CS3 is slower than CS2 because every sequential version of Photoshop is slower than the previous. I can boot 5.5 in about 4 seconds on my PC; CS takes about 15-20.
