I found new feature (to me) from my 30D. When lens is on manual focus, and I half press shutter and manually focus, those focusing blocks blink red when they are in focus.

Who needs focusing screen anymore? (Okay, the blink have a bit of a lag, but still.)

Or is this something everyone knows?

With this, you're still limited by the accuracy of electronic focus sensors, which isn't always terribly good. But still, this eliminates the need for a split focusing screen in 95% cases.

On some cameras you can even fully press the shutter and the camera will take a picture as soon as the picture is in focus.

ah. my D200 doesnt offer that, pretty shitty back when I had to rely on only my central AF sensor. and I only use MF lenses without CPU chips

This happens on the Canon 400D as well.

Your D200 does actually, its a little green light in the bottom left of the viewfinder, and it shows up when the shutter is held halfway when the local (AF sensor) "contrast" is good enough for AF to let you take a pic.

thats what i was mentioning, you even don't need to halfway press the shutter release. it's that the focusing sensors dont light up when they achieve focus

Autofocus is, by its nature, fail

Try to shoot a pic of the lions at the zoo through a chain-link fence with it

Any decent AF can cope with that, as can selective focus distance lenses.

How about through a chain link fence taking pics of Stock cars traveling about 150km/h

Troll, or seriously too stupid to figure out how to autofocus through a chain-link fence?
