Can /p/ suggest a good camera to use for IR photography?
>> Even_Steven !!rUmVORA7JiP
You mean digital, right?

I know the newer Nikon bodies have better IR filters, so avoid those. The D70 was just about the last good IR digital you could get from Nikon.

the kind with a lens.

Not necessarily digital. any reliable camera that will take IR photos well will be fine.

I think Fuji's F-mount dSLRs have a dedicated IR mode? Can someone confirm this for me?

Not exactly, Fuji makes IR-dedicated versions of its S*Pro-series cameras. The Finepix IS-Pro is the current iteration.

I would think the Canon EOS 20Da would work well.

Thougth wrong.

Get an Olympus C2020z, the unbeatable IR champion.

I've looked at getting an Olympus C2020z before, unfortunately they seem non-existant now.

I bought an Olympus E10 for $199. and an Olympus E20 for $299., used, on Amazon and I've never looked back. IR is the way to go baby!
Forget all this new "live view" bullshit.
These are $2000. cameras that get the damned job done RIGHT, the first time. It's true that they are fixed lens but there is hardly a better lens to be fixed. No dust problems and always ready to GO.
I shot this out my front door today because it's spring in Pennsylvania and I have fans that love this shit.
Photo is processed in Correl Paint shop pro Photo X2.... which is about $75 bucks (US)... NOT $700.Photoshop price.
Please try to understand that I am trying NOT to step on anyone's toes but you CAN IR photo anything if you know how it works.
I normally post images about 60% to /P/ but I'll let this one go at 100% just this once. These are Dogwood trees in full bloom. A new Lexus parked across the street.
This is a bright blue sky, no clouds kind of day. As you can already tell, I think IR is the BEST way to use a camera. Please don't give up and post your results. More people are looking than you think. .R.

No, Photoshop lens flare is the digital cameras' equivalent to Photoshop lens flare.
