Hello /p/eoples,

Whats the best way to achieve macro/Fisheye effects without spending inordinate amounts of my wad on a specialised lens.

(ALTERNATIVE QUESTION: whats the best deal I can get on a Nikon Macro?)

macro = extension rings or shitty chinese macro attachments

fisheye = shitty chinese fisheye attachments or a russian manual fisheye

Russian manual fisheyes are in fact actual eyes of big genetically manipulated cloned cod. I heard that the mother-cod (from which the others where cloned) was caught by Stalin himself.. that last part is just a rumour, though.

I was thinking more along the lines of Glass lens, door peepholes, reverse lens' etc... any others?

Reverse lens adapters are fine too if you have a half-decent prime. Magnifying glass and door peepholes usually produce pictures that look straight from Holga, if not worse.

Buy Phoenix/Cosina/whatever 105mm 3.5

It gets only to 1:2, but still. $100 new, a lot less used.
