I think this photo of mine is pretty good. Eh has a decent composition, nice colors and the birds are not too underexposed.

But it's boring, that's a flaw.

Too underexposed, bad composition, and poor colors.

Don't post photos here that you're actually proud of, these people just tear them to pieces.

I got an incredibly cheap Konica Auto S range finder to start out with and it takes super sharp out door and architecture shots.
Point is, you don't need money to get gear that works, you just need to practice with what you've got and keep and eye out for bargains.

OP here. Yes, the kit lens does suck but I've got a 50 mm f/1.8 on its way already.

So here's another one, I think I managed to get the structure pretty well in the photo and the cloud formation on the background is beautiful but not too intense.

Too bad it's underexposed, slightly tilted and gains over 9000 minus points for being a boring sunset photo. Vignetting, albeit unintentional, even makes the score lower.

I only edited it to widen the histogram (lol proper term?) and slightly reduced saturation to counter noise.

What the fuck, people? This is a photography board.

Sometimes i get the feeling people come to rage here when they should really be just browsing porn.

When you go to a restaurant and get served shitty food, do you say to yourself "oh well, the chef tried their best, I shouldn't complain..."?

horrible fringeing on branches in the upper back

Imageboard and restaurant.. comparable?

Is the food free and am i forced to eat it?

I like the honest critique. /p/ never hesitates to call out shitty photos and devart / flickr style excessive back-patting is minimal.

My point was more to the "Don't post pictures" advice and the resulting typical shitfest with all the baaawwwing.

>>177703is trying to be friendly,>>177712gets to the point and>>177715is uncalled for.>>177721i agree with.

The thought of a poor chef and charred food made me chuckle a bit, though. I would probably say to myself "oh well, the chef tried their best, but failed miserably."

And then... I dont find either of these shots really interesting. First one has birds on the frame as a subject but the harbor shot doesn't seem to come together. The structure, whatever it is, really is well in the picture but..

Question to OP, why did you post these photos? If you can tell there are mistakes, you could try and fix them before posting. If you think a photo is not interesting and is not presentable, why show it, what's the point? Trolling? I didn't see a question or request for crits.
