Here's some random shots. Nothing meant to really impress, I'm just a beginner looking for general commentary. All these were taken with an ordinary Canon point and shoot digital. Working on fundamentals before I drop any real cash. I resized them all for here, but haven't done any other editing.

Practicing things like ground-sky ratio, subject placement within the frame, etc.

I wish this one had turned out better. Would've been a good picture. But I didn't want to spook the bird with a flash, and I'm obviously not an expert at aperture settings.

I'm aware the twist on this is weird. Truth is I happened to see this on my way somewhere and had to take it from the window of my car.

Would have been a great shot if it was straight (hint telegraph poles are normally vertical and you can correct this on your computer) and wasn't so grainy. If you can manually set ISO on your P&S (my old one could) then set it to the minimum and balance it using a tripod or something flat and firm.

I really like this one.

Your other 3 photos are average.

I know the other 3 are pretty meh. That's why I put them in the middle. The first one and the last are my favorites, too.

I'll experiment more with the settings. Anything that could've been done on the other 3 to make them less average? Or is it just a case of boring subjects?

Thank you for the comments.
