It seems theres a tree in your sky sir.
>> tizzou !!HuouSd+PYUs
hurp durp the pictures is too big! 1648?!~?!!? HAS TO BE SMALLER!!!1
>> tizzou !!HuouSd+PYUs
But in reality, did you shoot this vert or horiz? I wish you would've been able to get the sides of the bottom tree in the shots. Also, I actually like the distortion on the trees. Also, seems a little too purpley, maybe try and add some more golden tones to it?

I really like the new Sigma 50mm f1.4, Much much better than the Nikon for daylight shooting, plus its a lot sharper at all apertures.

Color balance man, pop the tool and fix that purple tinge. Also maybe drop some of your mid-tones darker? You have a slight wash in them. I'd also flip it. The top tree is considerably more interesting than the ones currently at the bottom.

I am convinced you're joking in posting this.

Not kidding at all, in Daylight, less CA problems, AF is accurate the first try. (Maybe my Nikon 50mm f1.4 wasn't a good version, but I did not like it)

I also found the Nikon 50mm really soft wide open, it improved sure, but the 50mm f1.8 was better at f1.8 than the f1.4 was at 1.8...

Maybe my Srgb conversion messed it up, it does look a bit purple.

O you're posting it as an example of the superiority of the lens, okay.

I just like the separation it has between whats in focus and whats not.

With my older Nikon 50mm f1.4 (af-d) It felt like what the lens did focus on just wasn't sharp enough to truly separate it from the OOF background.

Well obviously I like a lot of things about it, but thats the main reason.

Bah it won't let me upload my IR pano. I'll keep trying for a bit.

Horizontal, any wider and I have to use more ground on the top and bottom, Its quite the catch 22 when framing these. (3:1 isn't a guideline for me, its a rule)

>>282658
Vincent, how come your sky is red and the trees and the ground is purpleish? Whenever I shoot IR (D70, Hoya R72), everything turns red. I can't get two different colours like you.

you seem to use a lot of sigma lens, 10-20 50 1.4 are there any other sigams that you think are better than the nikon?
>> Vincent !!8LCSE0Zp1mL
>>282708
If you shoot Raw just adjust the white balance after the fact (2000, -106 tint in Photoshops Raw editor)

If you shoot jpeg, set the D70's WB to "PRE" then hold down the WB button for about 5 seconds, it will start flashing PRE on top of the lcd, take a picture of grass, or clouds, or foliage.
That will set the WB properly, from then on use that custom setting.

Other than the 50mm f1.4, I think all the best Sigma lenses fit "inbetween" the Nikon ones. Either in cost or focal length / aperture.
10-20 is wider (And my favorite lens)
24mm f1.8 is pretty unique in its wide aperture
30mm f1.4 is a much more cost effective replacement on DX to the 28mm f1.4
150mm Macro is ideal for insects, without spending the money on the Nikon 200mm Macro
15mm f2.8 Fisheye is cheaper and smaller than the Nikon 16mm f2.8.

not trolling, how the fuck do you stich the pictures together? i mean trees (the branches, leaves) normally move
>> Anonymous
>>282855

lurk forever.
>> Vincent !!8LCSE0Zp1mL
>>282855
They don't really move that much, especially not when you are shooting at such a wide angle, any movement doesn't translate into more than a few pixels off. The static objects will still be able to ground the stitching.

Also bumping this to get some more gear threads off the front page.

love this tree, 18mm was the widest on my IR camera, so I stitched a few shots to get it all in.
