noise is terrible needs to be resized and the tree is rather distracting, photoshop it out. Otherwise it's decent, maybe burn in more of a curve in the dark bottom?
>> Anonymous
Hmm.. Kinda defeats the purpose of what I was aiming for. But oh well. I'm the one who asked for opinions.

When posting a halfway decent picture with poor image quality, always remember to resize to the point that the image quality becomes acceptable. Otherwise, 90% of the posts will be about the image quality.

I'll keep that in mind.

Since I'm a total novice to resizing and whatnot, how does one go about this?

Or are you talking about the file size settings on my camera?

then take it again with a better composure? the tree is distracting because it's creating ugly busy space with the bench. The form of the top of the trees needs to be separate (read above and further to right, kind of looming almost?) from the parallel bars of the bench. As of now they overlap and the bars are trying to form lines leading to interest where there isn't enough going on for lines leading to interest to work.

Gotchya!

To be honest, I kinda didn't notice the tree til you mentioned it.

/p/ is one of the slowest-moving boards on 4chan.
The only time it moves quickly is when it's being trolled.

Well then.

I now know. :\

Sorry to waste time.

One of the slowest maybe, but sure as hell not the slowest.

And it's more trolls here than on any other board

/p/ tip of the day:

Exposure equals the area under each curve.

The total area for the ambient light increases as you consider more time horizontally, due to a longer shutter opening.

The area (exposure) for the flash doesn't change so long as the exposure is at least 1/1,000 second to capture it all.

The exposure from ambient light increases as exposure time (flash sync speed) gets longer, but the contribution from the flash stays the same. One uses smaller apertures with longer exposures, which keeps the ambient exposure constant but requires more power from the flash to keep up.

>>235167
Mind dumbing it down for the novice?
>> Anonymous
>>235177

do not shoot higher than your camera's sync speed when dealing with external lighting
>> Anonymous
>>235182
Got it.

Thanks for the tip... well more like common sense now that I think about it.

how u no ur sync speed?
sorry im new

Try the instruction manual.

That's one tool a photographer should keep for reference.

usually 1/250th

goooogle.
still its probably 1/250th

I think it's very nice. The sunset creates the illusion of a brushfire while the perspective feels like the observer is a small animal and not a person. I like the blur created by the grass and the silhouettes. Nice job.

what kind of lens goes down to 15mm and is 2.8?

is that some tokina 11-16?
>> Anonymous
Recompositionizeify for trees, cut any straws that might overlap with the bench while keeping all the others. If there's no wind and the camera is stable, reduce iso and increase shutter times.

Also i'm not 100% sure about the straw. Maybe I'd keep it. I'd shoot a few different exposures with them, then a few after killing it just to be really anal.
>> Anonymous
i'd prefer it without the grass in front because it feels a little oppressive but that's probably a personal thing. great shot otherwise.
