Does anyone here shoot with a Nikon D2h? I know they are old, but i am going to buy one. I am not shooting for posters or anything so i'm not that worried about pixels.

then invest in glass, a 18-200 VR would be nice.

shutters are usually rated for about 150,000 releases.

bring a laptop. shoot a raw file. check the EXIF, there should be a value for shutter releases.

You could get a D200 - like a smaller D2X and many are in good condition, as they were used by pros as a cheaper backup for their D2, barely getting any use.

The newspaper I worked for issued me a D2H (and a D200... it's not a huge rich paper ok), so I had some stick time with it. It's pretty typical "outdated" technology but it's extremely fast and accurate. Don't bother with a D2H if you're not going to get some serious glass for it. Noise performance is especially typical of cameras from 2004 so be sure to spend the money on fast zooms.

I shot this with a 70-200 f/2.8 VR and had a 17-55 f/2.8 on the D200.

Resolution isn't all that important yeah, but this can print full-page spreads no prob, considering the "meh" quality of newspaper printing.

I've thinking about a D2H as well, since I saw one being sold for around 400 USD, is this win?
