Do you actually take the pictures you were posting in /s/? If so, I'm very, very jealous.

its weird to see digital shots from you :\
>> Liska !!LIVFOETqL8j

Nope, I never post any of the pictures I take in /s/. Everything I post is shot by other photographers- however, i wasn't kidding when I said i was a photographer and I use them for photo references ;)
>> Liska !!LIVFOETqL8j
>>116673

Yes, i know. It's just as odd to me- i spent about 2 hours just trying to edit them to make them look like i wanted. It's why i'm shooting in full manual. I have an f100 i'm paying off- won't be long until i'm rolling along with film again :)

Shhh, we're bringing her over to the dark side.

You better know me better than that or i'm going to kick your butt.

All in all, these are getting a lot nicer.

Film purist. ;)

Come to the dark side, we have cookies.
>> Liska !!LIVFOETqL8j

Forget you and your cookies! Film is still better. We have cheese.

But in all seriousness, I like the last picture because of the look. The blouse, her look, it just works for me.

Damn me for not tripping....

Just give me my cheese and i'm happy. I really like the last picture too, but i'm partial to>>116669she just looks so happy there.

The correct term in our particular idiom is "filmfag".

These two are my favorites. The first because I have a thing for bare midriffs, the second because it's a good pose.

So what are you doing for postprocessing? Are you using the levels control? If you're not using the levels control, you should use the levels control. It is made of win and make-pictures-better.

(I probably use it a little bit too much. I'm still in the "NEW HAMMER! LOOK AT ALL OF THESE NAILS!" stage with my postprocessing)

A comment to some of the shots you have on your flickr account: You should get some sort of good fill flash (or use your reflector) and stop pointing your model into the sun. It looks like Annie's eyes are already a touch on the squinty side normally, and facing her right at a giant ball of hydrogen-fueled nuclear armageddon doesn't help. Also, there are more choices than front-lit and back-lit. Try some other angles and see how those turn out.

I'm getting there slowly :)

I love pointing my models directly into the sun -_- it's fun. I'm saving up for a fill flash, but i can't afford one right now so I have to make do. I'd love to use my reflector, but the angles just haven't been correct yet. There's not light to bounce off, because i'd have to turn the model the other way & that would have me facing the sun.

As for post processing- I worked with curves a bit, some color corrections, contrast & Brightness and thats pretty much it.

Oh, and as an add on the looking straight into the sun thing where she's lying down was an accident. She made the mistake of lying down and opening her eyes=pretty shiny eyes! :D So I made her do it a couple of times. All things considered, it worked out pretty well :D

thanks for the feedback, i have another shoot this weekend so i'll see if i can fix anything.

Curves and levels are the same thing, just a different interface. Sometimes it's easier to get results with one instead of the other, for whatever reason.
