FAST GLASS. f/2 is a must.
1/400 shutter speed to freeze action.
Bump the ISO speed up if its to dark.

My computer's a POS - it takes three minutes just to start fireworks or photoshop.

Get a browser that lets you zoom out to fit.

Bloody hell, lurk moar. Part of the point is that browser resizing is usually fucking ugly, if you resize it yourself it looks better.
And even with browser resizing, it's still huge which takes fucking longer to load.

you can resize in mspaint...

fuck you and your stupid ineptness.

Are you just repeating what you hear in forums or what?

f2 irl will get you out of focus pictures 9 times out of 10. Its also overkill in the sun.

Even with basketball - hell gymnastics, where im not even allowed to use a flash, I still only use a 70-200 2.8. In the daylight? Im going down to 4 or 5.6.

-player is out of focus
-you overexposed
-you're using a point and shoot
-your positioning is off by a lot, get on her other side so you can see her face.

and pretty much any joe nobody can take a picture of a pitch, or a swing. Get someone diving for a ball. Then ill be impressed.

Truth. Not bashing OP, but any standard sports PJ ALWAYS gets these shots. Try for something more than the typical like people diving for the ball, sliding into a base, or even somebody on base catching a ball to tag someone out.

1/400? More like 1/1250 for Baseball, The Ball and the Bat probably need more like 1/2000 to freeze in motion.

Then again, you did say softball, and I shoot hardball only. Maybe everything is that much slower lol

not really. these manly bitches can really launch a ball.
