I recently came into possession of this Canon AE1 from my dad, we've had it for as long as I can remember. Does anyone have any experience with this model? Is it a good piece of gear and got any usage tips?

I was about to accuse you of trolling because we had one of these threads the other day, but it seems like you're the second new AE-1 owner in as many days.

Bullshit.

AE-1 is a great film camera. Incredibly reliable.

There are no real usage tips, though. Adjust the focus manually so the viewfinder shows things in focus (the prism on the viewfinder is meant to help you with this) and take pictures.

When loading, be sure to put the film leader so it grabs the sprocket on the camera's film spool and then take 2 or 3 shots until the camera loads properly. Also, don't forgot to manually rewind before taking the film out, unless you like useless rolls of film.

des haet ae-1

It's fine if you want an AE camera, it's a pain the balls to use if you don't.
