Looks like you cropped it?
Anyway the picture is sharp enough, shutter speeds are good, BUT theres a few problems, One is its a bit boring, Its hard to tell what just happened (He entering a bunt stance? Or did the ball just fly by and he is recovering?)
Ump is cut off (Not necessarily a problem, but because he is in focus here it looks like he should be in it)

That said baseball is quite difficult to take good pics of, You need a lot of zoom to cover more than 1/3rd of the infield, And they usually play at night, Plus when there is action it is over quite quickly, and hard to get good timed shots (Ball on Bat for example is an obvious one)

Pic related to my experience taking baseball pics.

I cropped it because I was doing wallpapers, heh. My first /p/ post, don't know the proper way to post yet.

Yea, I can't seem to get a good 'in action' baseball shot, trying to work my way up.
Had to zoom through the safety net behind home plate (135mm), so that wasn't helping either.

cropping it isn't a problem, unless you crop out the wrong part of the pic, I was just commenting on the square dimensions of the pic.

The netting / fence always gets in the way but if you stand really close to it and use a long focal length, and a wide open aperture (f2.8 or f4 if you have the lenses for it) Then it miniizes its visibility. In that pic I posted I was shooting through a netting aswell, Just I was soo close to it it barely shows up in the pic.

ahh, the lowest I can get with the 28-135 is f5.6 @ 135mm.

Good tips though.

I like that shot, Nice and sharp except for the ball and bat.

I can get right up and close, but I also have no real stands at the field where I can go. Anyway heres another baseball shot. Just wish I had the ball in this pic! (I guess I could shop one in haha, but thats cheating)
