4: Reception Assuming you go to the reception, you are probably going to be indoors with nasty yellow lighting, Use a diffuser and bounce the flash for everything you do. Set aperture around f2.5 to keep the DOF predictable and shutter speed slow enough to burn in a bit of the backlighting. Get table shots, Cake pictures (before and during the cutting of the cake). Little detail shots like the table setups and the center peices. Macro works well here if any of your lenses can focus close.
Your 50mm f1.4 will pretty much all you will be able to use here, the 17-35 for table / group shots maybe. You generally don't interfere here, just hang around and get the speech pictures, bride / grooms reaction.
Important shots to get, First dance, Throwing of the corsage thing, Cutting of the cake, uhh I feel like i'm missing something else..
External flash HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommended, it will give you the AF assist light too (I assume canon's flash's have that) It makes focusing in nasty light SOO MUCH BETTER.
thats everything i can think of right now.
