Hey, noob here.. How do you find the old thumbnail from an edited photography? I can find the exif info, but not the thumbnail..

The crappy pic is my cat shot with the canon powershot a560 I got for christmas.

Any camera worth it's salt generates its thumbnails dynamically (stored thumbnails waste space on the memory card), and the OS (like windows) stores thumbnails in a seperate file (for quicker access), but overwrites them as soon as the file changes.

Yes, there is. EXIF data can also contain a thumbnail. Some extremely simple image editing programs leave that unchanged so you can see the original image there.

The EXIF viewer extension for Firefox can do that, for example.
