I've been thinking of buying that thing.

Any reasons why I shouldn't?

It doesn't have a focusing distance ring, it's fucking broken.
>> Anonymous
>>251394
What?

Isn't that matte black thing there the focus ring?
>> Anonymous
>>251394

He means the little window you can read the focus distance off. Aren't they a little bit redundant on dslrs.... How often do you check yours, really.

On a wide angle lens, quite often. I find the hyperfocal distance a handy tool to keep my scene in focus.
>> Anonymous
>>251405
well id hardly call 25 on 4/3rds a wide angle...
>> Anonymous
>>251405
Agreed. Although a 3ft/1m lock would be a decent replacement for my 10mm. Since 16mm+f/5.6+1m focus = 0.5m->infinity is in focus, just turning off autofocus is win.

Also, for focussing when using something like an R72 filter or my ND1000 filter. Would be nice.

50% fail after you realize you're paying $250 for a 50mm equivalent that's "only" f/2.8 with average optical quality

but you have no other choice if you are using Olympus, so that's the other 50%
>> Anonymous
This topic is much too discussed for something that was simply about pancakes.

>>251417

Except it's not meant to be just a prime. Its sole purpose is small size. WTF is the matter with you?
>> Anonymous
until they make a normal sized 50mm equivalent

it's fail
>> Anonymous
Enjoy your 50mm equivalent with f2.8 and f4 DOF.
At least you could post some pancakes from Pentax.
>> Anonymous
>>251494
f/5.6 DOF, actually, if you compare it to a full-frame 50mm.

>>251477
Umm, Leica 25/1.4? It's kinda on the big side, though, and costs a shit ton.

The 25mm pancake costs $400 here, which is even more ridiculous. Until the price drops, Olympus can go fuck themselves.

>but you have no other choice if you are using Olympus
Actually, I have, it's just the lack of AF that bugs me.
