1. Just like there is no 'I' in 'Team', there is no five in "EOS". It stands for Electro-Optical System, not Electro-Optical Fivetem. 2. The rule of thumb you're looking for is to not use a shutter speed slower than the reciprocal of your 35mm-equiv focal length. I.e., if you're shooting with a 50mm lens on a 35mm or full frame camera, don't shoot at slower than 1/50th of a second. On your 400d, multiply the focal length by 1.6 to get the 35mm equiv.
So, with the 90mm lens you used to shoot this car, you should not be shooting any slower than 1/150th of a second handheld. You shot at 1/60th.
And you have to increase these numbers if you or your subject is moving.
So, my advice: Get a tripod, get a faster lens. You appear to have more money than sense, so it shouldn't be too difficult for you to work up the cash for Canon's 135mm f/2.8 or even the 85mm f/1.2.
