Hey /p/ the following link to panorama's were posted to /b/ what sort of equipment is required to take a 360 degree panorama as in those featured in the link below?

Bump for interesting photo thread on a photo board!

I'd like to see how this guy manages it. Getting a crowd frozen like that in a shot that seems to require more than one picture stitched is clever work.

These really are some of the best I've seen like this.

Equipment:
Canon EOS 300D, Sigma 8mm F4, home-made panoramic head, 6 images, PTGui, Photoshop CS

These shots were taken at the end of September 2002 with very light equipment: a Casio QV3000 with a 35mm lens, a tiny tripod and a small "home made" parallax head. Fifty pictures were required to create each of the spherical panoramas; the montage made with Stitcher 3.5 needed no particular retouching in an image editing software (I just used the 'Artifact removal tool' in Stitcher).

He must do a lot of clever edits to get the images to match up so well with those crowds. I'd imagine movements would cause all sorts of headaches.
