Each photograph presented here paints a picture of a calm and serene area, when the opposite is true. All the images are from a beach covered the proof of the cruelty of the sea. Littering the rocks are countless shells of crabs with lobsters, sea urchins, and fish intermixed. The sea gulls, pick at the ones not quite dead. The skin of a cat lays on another rock, washed up with mornings tide, near which the leg of a deer pokes up through the sand. Hidden on the edge of high tide among dead and dry seaweed are bones of seals, deer, and other animals taken by the sea.

This lie bothers me.

I'm okay with it.

Nice photos, lame accompanying story.

You could've just added the damn corpses to your shots. Done right, it could've been amazing.

Instead we get creative writing 101.

stupid /p/
these are awesome
yet you're still bumping stupid gear threads
>> Anonymous
nice pics, what post processing did you do here?
and are they desaturated or did it actually turn out like this?
>> Butterfly !xlgRMYva6s
f36 and little diffraction?

AWESOME.

Also good photos :3

This isn't a story, it's an actual problem. It really bothers me.

>>261802
It wouldn't have worked, but I did take separate shots of them.

>>261980
Desaturated so they would be more consistent in appearance.

1) We've seen these photos before.

2) I love how you made the water look like fog. While I can tell that these are medium-sized rocks and the ocean, it looks almost like mountains covered with fog.

3) Are you using an ND filter? Polarizing filter? Is is this just straight ƒ29 with a 10 second exposure?

Hearing the a photographers take on his work is always interesting. Thanks for sharing.

1) I know, but does it matter? I posted them again because they're causing me a problem.
3) If I recall correctly they were all taken around sunset or on an overcast day. I made a combo of a ND4 and a polarizer to remove light and some times reflection on the water or walks. The polarizer made a surprising difference in the final product so if any of you go out and make stuff like this play around with what reflections it's removing. Usually I pulled it off the water so I could better shadow detail off the rocks.

I don't really see how it is a problem, especially if you are actively using an ND filter to get the effect.

I'm still looking to replace my old 52mm ND400 filter with a 77mm one, This shit is fun to do.

Cokin bitches!
>> Vincent !!8LCSE0Zp1mL

I would probably break them by accident.
And I like to shoot at 10mm, I don't think the cokin holder would support that.
(The 10-20mm can support a single screw in filter without vignetting though)
>> NatureGuy !se3A3TwzdY
>>262077
I don't know about the rest of them, but I get just terrible reflections of the lens on the lens side of the filter whenever I try to use my infrared Cokin P series filter. I suspect that a ND filter would suffer from a similar problem.

These are all gorgeous. Makes me sad that the only time Lake Erie gets choppy enough for effects like this, it's also so windy that my camera won't stay still on my crappy tripod. :-/

I think this is the best one, the rest is pretty much straw, reminded me of photo I attached.

Well when I get round to getting the 77mm thread for my 11-18 i'll let you know how bad the CPL vignettes on a P mount. I think they reccomend Z for anything wider than 23mm on 35mm.

Is this the thread for long BW exposures of water?
