Hey guys I'm thinking of taking up amateur photography and I need a camera - preferably digital. Taking quick shots is very important, I don't expect to click then wait a few seconds to have missed the event. Also, high quality is a plus, I will probably using some of these prints for my website or in publications.Any ideas? Thanks

Actually, i need this too..Something that can take light hits, and haves at least six megapixels
hits like in damage..
>>82404olympus 770sw/790sw has the most hitpoints
any decent 35mm p&s will take fast photos and be indistructable.
>>82404You should be MUCH more concerned about lens quality than pixel count. You could have a bazillion megapixels but that doesn't do you any good if the lens sucks.
My Charizard has 120 hitpoints.
>>82407790sw breaks if you get it wet.Richo Caplio 500 is a ton tougher
Maybe a Fuji Finepix s5700?
moar like a s6500fd: good quality, great price, indestructible. no IS though
>>82601I've got one of these. Great quality for a P&S and the price. Can suffer from a bit of barrel distortion and CA.In regards to hitpoints, I haven't dropped it (yet), and don't plan on testing it out either.
>>82399If you bought a camera like your pic, it would be FUCKIN amatuer photography.
