hdr is just a fad
>> Anonymous
I've been meaning to try out HDR, i like the way that it brings everything into focus in a peice/flattens everything.

Although ive heard thats its been around for awhile? it does seem to be one of those overused fads according to a lot of HDR reviews.

I live in Memphis, and we've got these Memphis Grizzly's billboards all over town. And every single on is part of the team HDRd out the ass. Makes me gag everytime I get on the interstate. I'll see if I can snap a pic or two today.
>> Anonymous
that just doesn't look real. at all.
>> Anonymous
yeah, you've gone past anything even remotely realistic. cartoonish.
>> Anonymous
Idiot. Do you think OP was going for a natural look? "amagad, it looks like you did something to that pic after you took it out of your camaraz!! SO NOT REAL!"
>> Anonymous
I WAS TRYING TO LOOK AT YOUR PIC BUT THE MOMENT I SAW IT I JUST COULDN'T STOP VOMITING I DON'T KNOW WTF IS GOING ON SO IF YOU CAN HELP ME I WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOUR PICTURE THANKS MAN
>> Anonymous

HA HA HA, OH WOW

It always amazes me how stuff like this gets recognition. Half the stuff on /p/ is better than that garbage

>>131220

Compositionally some of those shots rock. They would have been great if he just left it as a normal photo. Why did he have to fuck them up by using HDR?
>> lrf !XIxc6BpKnU
>>131220

The real shame is that some of those would have been pretty good without the HDR.
>> Anonymous
>>131238
>>131239
Wtf are you two saying. Composition?

Those are just snap shoots with a crapload of filtering, not worth a penny.

What the hell was that Dan Burkholder dude thinking, anyway? He even gets an exihibition? What kind of asshole goes to see that crap? You can search flickr or dA for shit like that.

What. The. Fuck.
>> Vincent !!8LCSE0Zp1mL
>>131220
LOL I had to comment on those, SERIOUSLY, it takes no skill to go, MAX STRENGTH MAX LUMINOSITY!

Composition wise, a few of those aren't bad.... its hard to tell if there was anything worth taking pics of there..
oh well its all in your marketing anyway... sad as those pics are.
>> Blackadder !!bSWRwu/NqzQ
>>131220

Holy shit. I didn't think it could be that bad, but with all the comments I went and looked...it's like a parody of some sort. A joke? Why would someone do this in all seriousness and why are people exhibiting and paying this guy to do it? Incredible marketing skills at work.

Like Vincent said, there might be some nice photos in there, but who can tell with that god awful processing?

"Using an innovative digital photographic technology called high dynamic range (HDR) imaging, in which multiple exposures are artistically blended to bring out details in the shadows and highlights that would be hidden in conventional photographs, he creates images that are almost like paintings in their richness of color and profusion of detail."

That just turns my stomach. It just goes to show what you can get away with if you are a good talker or salesman.

I dunno lol, these are fail as photographs, but definitely have some appeal as a kind of Warhol-esque pop art.

Wrong, they aren't interesting. at. all.
