TIFF vs. JPG for archiving Anonymous
Hey /p/, I've always done my backups with a RAW folder containing the RAW files and a JPG folder containing the processed JPGs.

I've heard from people working in graphic design that TIFF is better for archival purposes. Is this true?

But the raw file doesn't have any changes he made in Photoshop- any dodging or burning, any levels or curves, a black and white conversion, etc.

sure. tiff is a more flexbile format than jpg, with the option for true lossless storage. why not?

True, so it depends on what kind of processing the OP does. If it's just simple curves and shit for posting on the internet then it's really not worth archiving.

That's why you backup the PSD files too.

Yeah, that's what I do. Raw file, .psd, resized image for display.
