/p/, i need your halp.nikon d90 with 18-200mm or canon 40d with 17-85mm?i'm leaning towards the 40d because i'm familiar with canon and the price is within my current budget. i also don't want to spend too much on a dSLR because i'm a film fanatic and i would much rather save up for a hasselblad or a mamiya.but the d90 with the 18-200mm is a bit tempting..what do you think?
40D. You're familiar with it, which is the only reason to go for one over the other. But why the ridiculously huge standard zooms?
>>274994because it's my first time getting a digital slr and since i'm just starting out, i want a good walk around lens first.
D90 with an 18-200 = good camera with a shit lens40D with the 17-85 = good camera with a good lensI haven't fooled around with the D90, but I played with a 40D yesterday. Feels good man.
>>275025>40D with the 17-85 = good camera with a good lensMore like "good camera with mediocre lens worse than the 18-55IS"
>>275002What do you shoot on film?
d90 with 18-105 vrnot that much different from the 18-200 and you get HD video with the d90.cheaper than 40d too, you get the best combo
