So, /p/, Beginner photographist here. While the camera I've got has most of the features of an SLR, it's still essentially a point and shoot, and I'm sick of auto-focus. Anyway, I'm thinking of picking up a Nikon D40, with the kit lens. Good idea?

>>195310uni here != college, apart from places like Oxbridge and London which are collegiate and made up of university colleges, college is just where people go for more vocational courses and afaik have to pay anyway unless they're doing it instead of the last two years of high school... (£3500 uni fees for us, yay government subsidy, used to be entirely free though, still is for the damn scots)

Yeah I know it's not entirely free anymore, that changed back in 2004 or 2005 right? I remember the articles in the Guardian and Economist.

But you see my point, nearly 18,000... but i do get to stay on campus in college... one of which i'm still waiting to hear from...

Still could be worse, LSE was nearly 20,000 pounds. HA!.

forgot to mention i'm an Ausfag, so our entire tertiary education system is based on the Oxbridge tradition. So it's all very very similar... with regards to the residential colleges too

i'd prefer if the majority of uni here still kept to the college system too, tried and failed getting into durham (teaching done on campus but still collegiate) so stuck going to a non-collegiate city campus :/ what degree and college did you apply for/to?

You'll excuse me if i don't reveal the Cambridge application, for the sake of privacy, but to LSE it would have been a MSc in Social Policy and Development.

/me Assertively reminds Butterfag that he fools no one and is a trap and will always be one. Stop pretending to be a fuckin girl. You've been asked to prove it time and time again and you've never done it.

Shit is old.
