project due tuesday.
ive got 5 shots planned, involving actors/models and props.
in addition to a bottomless supply of 35mm film and a d80, i've got a 4x5 field camera very similar to the one pictured here, and 10 frames loaded into 5 film carriers. I've also only ever used a view camera once before, and I used expired polaroid film that didn't develop properly at all.

I probably won't start working on this until thursday afternoon. I'm feeling pretty good about my chances!

Not awesome until we see actual pictures. So far, it's just bragging about his equipment.

it's obviously sarcasm, though

and bragging? im not so sure. university provided field cameras arent all that special.

its not so much of a bragging thread, more just a pointless one.

zomg you have a field camera! sure id like to have one with expendable film but come back when you have some real news.
read: give us a yell when the pics are done.

Might not have been sarcasm. Going out and actually shooting pictures, especially with a large-format view camera, is pretty win. But yeah, now that you mention it, I think you're right.

Still, better than all of the "Hey, so Sony sucks, eh?" threads we've been having lately.

But also still: Come back when you've got actual pics. :-P

Protip: Use a loupe and a solid tripod. It really sucks to have to re-shoot with your models and set up lighting again because you were slightly out of focus. (speaking from experience, pic somewhat related)

your pic makes me depressed...

thanks for the tip; actually, the one time i've used a view camera I couldn't find a loupe, so fucked up polaroid aside, it probably would have been out of focus anyways.

Proprotip: A 50mm lens can substitute as a loupe.
