I'm excited, /p/
This guy: http://www.modelmayhem.com/pics.php?id=497851
Has agreed to take me along as an assistant photographer so I can learn more about lighting techniques and.. the like.

Is this awesome? Y/N

Agreed. The only thing it's missing is *LENSFLARE!*

It does show that the photographer understands lighting ratios.

The lighting is great and simple i think.

Looks like he just exposed the sky correctly and added a flash or constant lighting or whatever.

The only problem i have is the post processing, i don't like the background at all... but his choice to layer mask out the guy is good.

Also, guy in photo looks like a huge douche with that hat.

Hahaha, the guys looks like a total goof with that hat and post-processing.

MY PHOTO IS EPIC please disregard my headgear.

Yea, I think I beat him in post processing.. but this guy looks like he has a good understanding of light, and could probably teach me a thing or two.
I'll go with him on some weekend, I'll post the results here of course :] :]

I quite like the hat, but it looks shooped in.

I thought it was the shoes myself.

The whole damn person sticks out, the difference is noticeable enough that they look shooped in. He needs to back off the processing a touch.
