Heh, yeah, ~ten years ago :P
My last scores were an m42 55-135, mamiya/sekor(sears branded) m42-auto body and auto 55mm f/1.4 for FREE

There are those idiots everywhere, you just have to be patient and persistant. It's a poor season for it now, but once boot sales/flea marktets kick back in gear, you gotta head out early and often!

Prices are starting to drop on most film camera gear. About time really. Some people selling these things think every film camera values like a Leica.

Not quite. It may be close, but it isn't completely dead. Just take advantage of the deals from crazy people who are switching from film to digital. It's fun.

its cool to get good deals and all, but is it really necessary to buy every single one and have 11 different bodies?

uh, how many of these do you use?

Do you just have a giant table you put them all on or something?

That's one hell of a deal and now I'm jealous.

I had to explain to my friend what film was. She'd never used a camera before digi.

Here's hoping there are loads of these deals where I live now. Back where I'm from, everyone thought their 1979 EM was worth a fortune...

unless your friend is 5 years old, she was probably bullshitting you. film hasn't been dead THAT long.

>>91827

Some people really are that clueless. Never held a camera or understood how they worked when film was still around. It's just a magic box to many people. Same with cars and other goods.
>> DALEK
I take them all out for test spins when I buy them. Most of the time my OM1, Retina IIIc or Nikon F are around my neck.
>> DALEK
Add a Miranda Sensorex II with 4 lenses to the mix. $15 at goodwill.

seriously, do you resell these things or what? At a certain point just buying them all seems sort of redundant.

It's fun though. I've just scored a deal on 104 various cameras ranging from SLRs to sub-miniature stuff, and one extra box full of extra lenses / flashes.
50 euro / 70 dollar.
when I offered 50, I got an answer with
"Well, I know shit about this, so 50 is fine. They belonged to my now dead father."

Pics will follow, for fun.

OP is one lucky mofo.

I'm lucky if I find a roll of unused expired film for 5 cents at a garage sale.
>> DALEK
Add a Yashica FX-D to the mix, $5 at Salvation Army.

Unbelievable. You have a knack for sniffing these out.
>> Anonymous
dude seriously.
are you OCD?
also, 35mm film IS dead. except for schools who are still naive to leave kids to figure out digital on their own. part of the reason why i havent bothered studying it, cos i know theyll teach me film. its dead! get a 300D for fuck all if your on a budget.
slides and MF still have niche markets obviously. but why would a pro shoot 35mm film when a 20/30/40D can produce amazing results and has all the advantages of digital.
