I was just outside trying to take pictures of the moon because it looks cool and I can't get my camera to focus on it. The auto focus shows it perfectly in focus for a second as it zeros in then goes way blurry. I've tried all three Auto focus options and manual focus. Help /p/

The manual focus doens't give you a range its just, hold one way to focus in the other to focus out, I held the focus in and out for quite some time trying in either direction and couldn't get it. I know the camera is CAPABLE of focusing on it though because for a second it is crystal clear while it is trying to auto focus.

That says that it can't see anything to focus on.
While it does focus on it, it doesn't realize it because its a piece of shit.

I figured it out, I was overexposing the moon so it appeared to not be focused. What was really happening was it was getting a glow around it where there was too much light. Should have a nicer moon pic here in a few minutes.

I got it working! I'm actually super happy with how these came out considering how little clue I had as to what I was doing.

How do I shot the moon?

Yeah I use the s700 when I can't be bothered using film. The manual focus on it is a bitch to use. An MF ring on the lens would be greatm but maybe that's asking too much from a P&S.
