What's /p/'s opinion of the "Sony Alpha A200" as a cheap entry-level DSLR?
>> Anonymous
imo DOnt unless you already have a collection of KM lenses already. sony really jacked up the prices of glass when they took over.

Yes.

remember sony is using thier own flashes, you cant use aftermarket flashes unless they have the mount.

I have no lenses. I have no camera. Read: entry-level. I wouldn't be buying an entry-level camera if I already had a collection of camera-related peripherals.

Yes what?

What the other guy is saying is that you shouldn't buy a fucking Sony even as an entry level because their lenses are to damn expensive. You won't be able to grow as a photographer. If you don't intend to grow, stick to your fucking point and shoot. Go for something more mainstream so you have an option to expand. Nikons, Canons would be the best bet.

"Fucking" thanks.

to you idiots complaining about the lens prices:

Nikon 70-200 @ Amazon: 1999 (http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-70-200mm-Nikkor-Digital-Cameras/dp/B00009MDBQ)
Sony 70-200 @ amazon: 1799

Too expensive? give me a break.

Their 50/1.4 is ~$300, EXACTLY inline with Canon and Nikon's.

OP: Don't listen to the "Too expensive" remarks. Just misinformed idiots.

Do your own research and decide for yourself.

look up the 851.4 and 1351.8
also the 35f1.4

All either G or Zeiss glass.

your point?

it's the same reason you pay an arm and a leg for Canon's L stuff.

word.
>> Vladimir !Putin706F6
So the complaints aren't with the actual camera, but the price of additional lenses?
>> Anonymous

apparently so.

sony makes good stuff and the price of lenses can only fall.

It is packed with good features for the price, and lenses aren't that exepensive. you can get sigma, tamron, used minoltas, and even the "sony" lenses, which aren't that expensive. If you go up to the higher end sony/CZ lenses they can get expensive, but so will the higher end canon and nikon.

The only thing with going sony is that canon AND nikon fags will think they are better than you.

I have an a200 mainly because I found a new one for about $100 cheaper than I could have gotten a canon xt for.

Why must you stupid fucks always ignore "entry-level" parts and go right into your modification faggotry?
Also this camera comes with the basic zoom for $500 total on sonys site.
>> Butterfly !xlgRMYva6s
/p/s oppinion has been substantially modified due to about a year of A100 faggotry.

Its as good as the other entry cameras and has all the things you'll need as an entry SLR system but less random gear from sigma/tamron. They still make loads of stuff, but just not the billions of things they've made for canikon.

i own a sony a200 and it works perfectly for me.
i bought it with part time job money, and the lenses are just as expensive as the canon or nikon lenses. but remember, this isnt a mainstream camera yet, and its relatively new on the market. you just gotta wait for more lenses to come out, and the price should drop even more. it has a good sensor, and the stock lens does the job. great for beginner-intermediate photographers. i reccomend you edit the sony .arw photos in adobe lightroom, seeing as it has all the camera raw files already. my rating on the camera is 8.5/10.

Can't go wrong with K10D.
