I am a beginner of photography and I was wondering what the best way to action photos is. I just got a 75-300mm lens and was using recently with no idea of how I am supposed to capture my image. The other problem being that I use film so its not as easy as taking a bunch of pictures. Pic not related.

Depends. ISO ratings are your friend if you can use them - 100 being capable [in situations] of motion blurring, and 1600 being freeze-frame [yet perhaps noisy visually].
Try a range out and see.
Fiddling with settings is always a nice comparison.

Fast shutter speed and sure focus.
