Indoor Inspiration sage rage !3I4SJbCh8M
Hey all. Recently my hometown (Melbourne) has turned into a rainy cold shithole. Unfortunately, most of my favourite subjects are outdoors (buildings, plants & animals, weather).

Does /p/ have any inspirational ideas for indoor shooting? There are only so many budgie photos one can take...

How are you not wanting to go outside and take photos of the rain?

Am i the only /p/dezin that actually likes rain?

It always rains in Melbourne... But when the weather really turns it on, there's no way you want to be outside with your SLR. Yesterday we had juicy hailstones and the gutters ranneth over!

welcome to global warming mate.
I'm in the UK, and it used to snow and summers were hot. Now it's just one long cool/warm shithole.

I've got a friend up in Finland that "remembers" snowy winters.

But it's ok. American scientists in their 10litre pick-up trucks say it's all a myth.

"Global warming" is a myth. Give it a few years and they'll change their mind just as they did with "global cooling".

...anyways, how bout some ideas for indoor days? I don't want to be reduced to 'stuff on my desk' shots :(

0/10. Even willfully stupid propagandists say it's real; they just claim it's natural. The only people I've heard saying it doesn't exist were four of these five fat drunk Southern lawyers shooting the shit with each other in a bar, one who did believe in it was getting ribbed by the others, one of whom kept loudly insisting that a "cow pooting" puts out more greenhouse gasses than his SUV, of course with no time span specified.

The vast, vast majority scientific consensus in the US is that Global Warming is real.

There are "scientists" that the bush administration put on government commisions, and "scientists" who produce studies favorable to petroleum concerns.

These people represent less than a percent of the American scientific community. They just get a platform they don't deserve for political reasons.

well the environmentalists got what they wanted.

"global warming" used to mean the earth was getting "hotter". now that it's been burned into our heads that it means "the earth is getting hotter and humans are the sole cause."

the same way i see more and more arguments about illegal immigration leave out the illegal and just say immigration.

words are a weapons too.

set up a studio for object photography (small) or model photography if you have the room. for $100 you can have a simple setup with stuff you buy from the DIY store. at least it's better than taking pics of your desk

Right now it is political "heresy" and career suicide to do anything other than march to the beat of globalwarmthink. Scientists are being pushed into blindly accepting this rather than being encouraged to question it as they are meant to in science, which some scientists have objected to. Governments also force the scientists to waste ever more resources on this as they tend to give grants if they are somehow related to this nonsense. Scientists are also pressured into giving ever more ridiculous and more extreme scenarios of doom and gloom to get attention. I've heard the same from people I know involved in the industry and in research in this area. People that used to be pushing for more care and protection for the environment are disturbed at how it has all gone out of control and to extremes.

The global warming bullshit has reached the level of cultist hysteria. Only a clueless idiot couldn't see how unhealthy it is.

why the fucks are you bringing up global warming
it's always cold in melbourne
and it has been forever.
you try living in fucking ballarat!

I live in Scotland. Bring on the global warming, I say. We'll grow oranges in Aberdeenshire. Lovely.
>> sage rage !3I4SJbCh8M
Hilarious... All this because I was bored at home and took some pics of my bird. Consider this thread awesome.

Since we're on the topic tho, any fool can see the weather is getting wilder. We humans have rather changed the face of our globe and it's no suprise that we have modified the systems that were established.

How come you can let your budgie fly outside it's cage without getting a ton of budgie shit all over your house?
>> Butterfly !xlgRMYva6s
I just spent an hour wandering about outside looking for photos, my hand is now freezing (damn you for not having a strap 7000!).

Only took one photo, it'll probably turn out crap anyway.

Hello fellow Melbourne person!

Yeah, I agree. Melb has been cold and rainy, but at least our lawns are getting the water they need and my parents water tanks are filling up.

You could try to get some shots of buildings while it is raining, maybe some longer exposure shots? I have never had to shoot buildings in the rain before though, so I cannot be much help. :(

he is quite small. thus a ton of shite would take him quite a while to produce. but the serious answer is, he shits mostly on his perch, and anything he does elsewhere is dryish and so teensy tiny that it can be tissued/vacuumed up. good question, 10/10

>>299050
cool story bro... where is this pic tho?

>>299052
Well, it looks like I'm gonna have to shoot some buildings in the rain. I honestly have never done any long exposures on rain; The experiment is afoot!
