Nice cold color; something that sets it apart from your usual warm and sunny Australian postcard. I'd like to see the whole bridge though.
>> Anonymous
The bridge works as a guideline to the eyes, my eyes are directly off the picture again, as I follow the bridge.
>> eku !8cibvLQ11s
It would be (probably) much better if the pole wouldn't support the skyline. I.e. have more air on top of it.
>> Anonymous
amazing colors.. i just wish the shadow of the pole was a bit more visible.
>> Jeremo !iKGMr61IHM
Guess no one else is putting theirs up... hmmm

>>107868

Yeah, it's essentially not possible to see the pylons without MAJOR distractions. I'm on a Wharf so it'd be surrounded... i'll go back and give it another go though.

>>107889

Noted too, i'll give it a go

>>107890

Man, me too. Getting the exposure right for this shot was tricky as hell. This is just after sunset so trying to get the shadows under the bridge, the skyline, the bright lights of the buildings... fuck trying to get the dynamic range right for those were nearly impossible without GND... i should do composite shots next time.

Not to mention i was on a ferry wharf so i had fuckin huge boats in my shot every other second.

Need to go back when it's like 2am and no ferries.

get a nicer bokeh and use a smaller fstop? The background is a bit too noisy and keeps stealing the eye from the shoot.

Other than that seems awesome.
>> Anonymous

the blurring in the background distracts from the subject of the pic.

Really like this but the background does seem too distracting.
>> Butterfly !xlgRMYva6s

So many hot pixels!

Other than that, doesnt have any focal point or subject so it seems quite boring, plus the uneven flare from the main two lights is distracting and upsets the balance. Also the horizon looks off level but the lamps are straight so i assume its like that irl.

I really like the shot in terms of subject, that little green fella is beautiful. But i feel it's a little too cluttered with the brown leaves. I realise they're there as a juxtaposition, but i don't believe it's needed as a foil as the dirt surrounding it is more than enough to make it pop.
>> Jeremo !iKGMr61IHM
>>107908

there actually are boats in the far distance, but they shook so much in the 4 minutes the shutter was open that they ghosted into the shot. The B&W conversion made them disappear.

>>107947

There isn't anything to hold the photo in the foreground. A tight crop just below where the pool of light hit the bitumen?

>>107978

With shots like these i never know how to comment. What's the purpose? I first thought the lighting and the pipes were cool but immediately my attention is pulled into the carpark with a different tone of lighting. the car gets my attention but quickly loses it since there's nothing there... then i return to the rest of the image and forget why i'm meant to be enjoying... and wondering if i was ever given a reason at all.

Technically i feel the lighting is great and you were able to expose the two different sources well.
>> Jeremo !iKGMr61IHM
>>107986

Underexposed, try using a polariser to get rid of that glare on the water.

It's one of those shots we all do, we get lazy, don't try to do anything and wait for the subject to do sometihng instead... usually nothing happens.

post smaller images unless you want everyone to judge it from the thumbnail.

And in doing that, looks very boring with far to much tilt and doesnt seem to convey anything, too arty for record keeping of a fault so it doesnt serve any purpose.

BIGGER! Seriously, altho from the looks of it the sky gradient could have been a bit heavier towards black. Cant really talk about composition because its not BIG ENOUGH (oh the irony, are you doing this on purpose?)

>>108044
You know, I don't know that I've ever actually analyzed this one. I figure, you'll either like the subject or you won't with something like this, but the composition and lighting are very nice. The large sky and distance between the dead tree and the evergreens helps emphasize the desolate feeling, but the colors give it vibrancy and life. But then you already know I like this one.

Polarizer.
>> Blackadder !!bSWRwu/NqzQ
>>108078

I'd considered that, but I thought as it had turned the sky so black it was possibly a strong graduated filter. My mistake. I don't think I like the sky so strongly graduating to black there and I find the sky distracting or unbalanced with the dead tree. I'm not liking the composition.

I think I had to zoom in to get this picture, so the f/3.4 was the best it could muster, and I can't really ask for better bokeh from this camera. I have to agree that it does look cluttered with the dead leaves around, but couldn't think of taking them off. Maybe arrange them next time?
