well what do you think about this camera??
any good for a mom in her 50s? too good?
its canons SX10 IS.
she's pretty much a point and shooter, likes to take videos of the youngest of us (my little sister) in her gymnastic meets. or is it too much for her to handle? (i'd probably play around with it alot too.)

Even $8,000 Canon 1Ds Mk. IIIs will do everything for the user if he or she wants to do handle it themselves. With a few exceptions, every electronic camera will. It's not too much for her to handle.

Get her a Nikon D90 and an 18-135 or 18-200mm lens, and there's nothing she could do to even possibly fuck it up unless she moves the mode dial off automatic.

This camera isn't bad per se, but it's not good in low-light situations unless you really know how to work it, because its sensor is small. Pretty much every photo site will have something on it about this. The D90's larger sensor will help get clear pictures and video of your younger sister.
