What do you reckon the 5d will be going for after the MKII comes out?

oh man a 5d would be neat. maybe someday but id have to buy all new lenses.
>> Anonymous
Does this have any sort of trickle down effect? Like, do other older models go down too, like the 40D?
>> Anonymous
A used 5D goes from around $1,500 to $2,000 depending on condition and who is selling it.

I think 272783 is making a good guess.

I'm in a rough spot as far as the original 5D dropping in price. I definitely want one to complement my 40D. But I know a lot of 5D owners and don't want them to get screwed.

wut

Are their 5D's going to stop working as well?

Oh man full horn over M4.

5d will still be a very popular camera. Everyone that wants to get into the FF action will get one.

Retailers will bump up the price on the last of their stock. Used ones will shoot up in price. It might end up costing more than the markII, it's happened before.

all those retards that sold their 5d's already will be kicking themselves.

>>272836

The original 5D cameras will just lose value for whenever the owners do choose to sell them. If they plan to keep them indefinitely, the change in price doesn't matter.

never took ECON101
>> Anonymous
yeah, it could end up being pricier. shit's fucked up.

dumb question: why is the canon g7 more expensive than the g9? i don't know anything about these two cameras so i dunno if it relates to the possibility of the 5d costing more than a 5dmkii?
>> Anonymous
>>273212

Took Econ101. I passed though. You obviously failed.
>> Anonymous
>>273214

The g7 was still a perfectly good camera when the g9 came out, and the g9 was fucking expensive. Everyone started buying up the g7's and the retailers raised the price because of the lowered supply and the increased demand over time.

The G series holds value because the new ones aren't leaps over the old ones. G5's are still very usable cameras.

I used to shoot with a G2, and especially as a waist-level camera it was great in the hand. I've on and off considered getting another one- they're like $50 on eBay. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap, quiet, digital camera that's actually good on the camera side.

OK let's stop talking about shitty P&S cameras and focus on getting 5D's for cheap.

This won't happen.

Having a small sensor != shitty.
Having a small sensor != point and shoot, which even a Hasselblad H3D can be in the wrong hands.

why would anyone think a 3 years old camera would sell for more than a brand new, not even released one

stop trolling
>> Anonymous

Can't get it through your head that a desirable camera with a low amount of units means a higher price. Doesn't mean it's an immediate price hike either. In 6 months you'll know you were wrong.

Can currently get brand new 5D's with a canon waranty for less than $1600USD in NZ cause the exchange rate just shat itself :P
