>>197746 It's not just my opinion (the stuff at the end about Nikon being perfect is :P), it's what I hear from all the photogs I talk to. Canon focuses more heavily on user friendliness and user interface advancements, while nikon focuses more heavily on making their stuff indestructible and reliable--so often fewer features.
>>197747 Maybe not for your images. And that's fine, but I care about wringing every bit of image information I can out of my film, so it's worth the markup to use the best lenses.
>>197749 I never said Canon made bad optics, just that Nikon makes better optics. The EF 24-70/2.8L is a fab lens. So is the Nikkor 28-80/2.8 AF-S.
I think it's funny how aggressively people reacted to the last bit of my first post. Seriously, people, that was obviously a joke. "Transcend to Nikon"? Who even fucking talks like that?! I mean, yeah, I love Nikon, but I've seriously considered switching to the Canon EOS system, because they have some hot lenses and really nice bodies, but the Nikon system fits my needs better. You shoot Canon, or Sony, or Pentax or whatever cos it works for you, and that's fab.
I agree with>>197784pretty much 100%. Nikon has better lenses, but they've really gotta get their shit together on that lens mount. You can retain backwards compat. and still have fully-electronic lenses.
