i am shooting digital, and i dont usually have people looking for my exif info.

i really hate the way digital stuff looks, and i am chomping at the bit to get a holga already... so a lot of my stuff is influenced by the lomography scene.

as soon as i get a job i will purchase a holga and start shooting with that. for now i just use photochop to mimic film.

its all about selective color layer adjustment layers and subtle burning for me.
i am not really all that happy with my color editing right now, but what i strive for is the film look without that blatant cross processed look.

the easiest way to start is by messing with the values of the white mid and black tones. that will really define where the rest of the colors will fall, and changing values on the mid tone sliders will change the entire image drastically.

i am sure there is some science to it, but until i go back to school this fall i wont know what that science is, it is just sliding things around until it matches the image in my head.

Well, there are tons of what we would call vintage cameras that shoot 120 and are fantastic in their operation that can be had for cheap. My example is a Rolleicord type IIb (def vintage, from 1937), got it off of ebay for ~55 bucks, works fantastically, shoots 120, has a BITCHIN lens for it's age (zeiss tritotar), and is very easy and fun to use.

TLRs are usually a good way to do 120 inexpensively, but you could also go with old folding cameras, though ebay prices for those tend to be higher than TLRs.

Looking through the completed auctions, I see some rolleicords have sold for as low as 30 dollars. I definitely think the TLR is a good way to get into 120 on the cheap, if not through Rollei, then maybe with an older yashica or a minolta autocord.

Of course, YMMV, and also, if you're looking for something newer than that, it might not be the best choice, but the build quality on these beautiful old machines i'd say is better than on even professional cameras of today.
