I love panoramics. I'll post some unconventional ones.

This one was 48 images I believe

bullshit, only if you shoot with an excruciatingly small resolution, you just crop. 2508x824?
>> Anonymous
>>92897
generally, the more you can overlaps photos the better for a panoramic. theres nothing wrong with 48 shots for that. theres probably overlap going both horizontally and vertically.

Resizing for an image board? Why would I do that..
Oh wait I would...

I've done 70+ pic Panoramics before, Especially 360 degree pictures.
And I don't know if you noticed but that pic among this one, has an extremely large field of view, so even with a wide angle lens (Sigma 10-20mm I used) You have to have a shitton of pics to cover the whole range.

And Finally a more typical?shot, nothing truly original about this pic, I just liked the trees.

Also OP?Does look slightly like a render...

i have a 360 one of kuta beach in bali but the exposures are all different.

i tried at a local beach and the exposures are still off to make it look weird. and on top of that, most stitching programs try and blend the different shots and they look hideous.

how does /p/ get the exposures to match across a whole panorama.

You can get a lot of adjustments done in PP.

Easy, Take the pic in manual. I meter of a dark part of the pic and expose that sufficiently, Then take the pics in Raw to save the highlights.
Failing to take pics manually gives you 5 times more work in the end.

Pic related (Forgot it was on Aperture priority..) Also for the recond this pic is 27 shots (3 tall 9 wide)

LOL

"I see dead people"

haha, you know what i mean right?
>> Anonymous
>>92924
yea i normally shoot raw but some of them were so far apart in terms of white skies in one and blue in the next and so it pretty extreme.

just tried autostich on another one i had. did a pretty reasonable job. bit slow though when working on full sized images :S

really? how so?

oh and what do you stitch with? wish i could do better panoramas... but i tried to stitch 128 images together once and my computer died hahaha... i need more ram.

yeah if you stitch beyond 20 images at full res it pretty much dies or takes a long long time

You mean the Same Green player in like 5 different spots? lol that happens a lot in Pano's

>>92929
Its the huge ass tower that makes it look like that, everything is just too rounded and smooth, and the lack of any people or small watercraft.

>>92931
I leave the comp for about 2 - 4 hours when stitching 30+ pictures. I use PTGui for mine, its quite good and you can tweak if need be. It has a problem doing 360's sometimes though

Also one more strange Pano I tried, Its hard to do high Arc Verticals, So this one was kind of a failed test.. I got one good Vert pano the next week, But they are a real challenge to take...

hahah no, i meant the spectators on the otherside of the seats... you can see their shadows... or where they use to be haha

How did you take this one without the people becoming too blurry?
>> Vincent

I just cloned out all the people who were "half" images.

Actually thats the reflections of the players on the ice :) Some of which are gone though haha

Here's an old one that I made when I first started making panoramas. Not bad for a first time. It's really small though.

Except for the error in blending, that picture has a lot of potential, If you go back there, try to get closer and then take the pics with a wider angle to emphasize the size of the bridge (And distance it covers)

Also stack the pictures vertically aswell as horizontally, You don't need a tripod, but Autostitch, CS3 or PTGui can do a good job stitching them together.

Pano's are best used to emphasize an expansive scene with both an interesting foreground AND background, The best ones have both in them (And good lighting)

Also never underestimate Selective contrast editing (Sky or Earth alone) taking the Pics in RAW can help with that.

I did take another set of pictures for making a panorama there, from the other side, but on the ground next to the bridge. There are two bridges there, and I went 180 degrees to get both of them in. I haven't stitched them together, but I didn't like that one much, because the bridge ends up looking relatively small I think.

And normally I would enhance the picture in Photoshop, but the sky didn't blend together very well, so when I tried to do that it just made it more obvious where the sky changed.

I'll try and play with it a bit more, and also maybe stitch the other set together and see how they look.

Not one of my best, but most recent. From Saturday actually.

I've been using PTgui, and I noticed that the end result is only 72dpi. Does the Photoshop processing output in 300dpi?
