/P/, I've seen a second hand EF 20-35 Wide Angle lens going in my local photographic store for £195 ($400), is this a sound investment?

I havent checked out condition etc because I only saw it in the window, but assuming it's good condition and works fully etc. could this be considered a worthwhile purchase?

Just checked on Amazon and it's £327.51 new, so there's already a pretty hefty saving to be made here.

what do you shoot and what camera

20-35 is not so wide if you have a crop-sensor digital camera, though.

Still pretty good. Wide-to-normal. Pentax was at some point long ago going to make an "adjustable 35mm" that went from 32-39, but didn't or didn't sell it in the end. You could use it something like that, with a little extra reach into the normal range.

Same aperture and notably less zoom range than the dirt-cheap 18-55. But it should deliver better pictures because it's designed for full-frame cameras and a higher grade lens overall.
