need a new camera
the command dial on my kind FujiFilm s9000 just broke and I have crap to turn in on Tuesday for class. Now knowing I have to finish my work with a cheap point-and-shoot, I'll have to get a new camera for later. Any recommendations? I'm leaning towards Canon as of late.

if you have Canon lenses then your choice is obvious, 5D if you can afford it, otherwise the Rebel XTI is a sweet deal

Otherwise alternatives are Nikon D50 (or D80) Or Fuji S2 (it takes nikon lenses aswell, and is quite the deal) If your interested i know a guy whos selling the Fuji S2 for 500$ USD with the battery grip, reply and i can link you to him.

Lenses will cost you a fortune, but since you have classes that you need to turn in pictures for you might have loaner lenses you can get from them (In that case they probably are pentax, since K1000's are a staple for photography classes)

pentax makes a few decent DSLR's aswell

you won't get much for it anymore, They seem to sell for around 80-110$ in good to excellent condition (Without any lenses)

Sell the lenses separately on a digital camera forum or something
