Portfolio Help Op
Okay, so I've figured out what I want to do for a portfolio project, but am unsure of the best way to accomplish this. I will be shooting in both film and digital, but I have a question about how to shoot what I'd like to.

I'd like to set up scenes, much like a Wes Anderson movie, think the royal tenenbaums. It's detailing my fucked up family in a quirky loving way.

So most of these are going to be indoor portraitures, I have a D300 and an F3 that I'll be using, shooting on the 50 1.2. What type of lighting would be ideal on a student budget? If you could, can you show me some of the effects x type of lighting will do to the subject? Thanks a ton guys.

its never a good time to ask /p/ for anything

i would make a crappy reflector with aluminum foil and reflect sunlight as needed...always useful!

Nah, just a lot shittier of a night than usual. I was thinking of some external flash with diffuser, but really don't know how they work or how to properly set them up.

Can you afford a SB-600 or something? Dunno about the F3, but you can use it wirelessly with the D300's commander mode.

I actually think my sister got one for christmas a while ago... I was thinking it was going to be a bit more hardcore of equipment. That with some time of diffuser would do the trick?
