A friend and I caught up last night, smoked out, and went to get awesome Thai food. This is what came out of that walk.

I don't often take high pictures I like, but perhaps there's a sea change coming.

I gotta give it up to the Ricoh's P mode, which is worlds better than my Nikon's P mode. More often than not, it picks a very nice exposure.

This may actually be my favorite from the night... I like it quite a bit.

I don't think I particularly dig that 4:3 format though... I may start shooting in 2:3 entirely with this camera.

I hate the feeling that I'm throwing away data, but I also hate going in and manually cropping down to 2:3, so I'm at a standstill.

For me, 4:3 works better for vertical shots, they're too narrow in 3:2. For horizontal ones, though, I prefer 3:2.

I can understand that. 4:3 ends up being a lot closer to your classic 8x10 vertical print, which is a really satisfying size. I suppose I'll still shoot in 4:3, because I honestly do hate throwing away perfectly good sensor data.

You take better photos High than i do sober :(

I've been away for a while, have you done anymore sets similar to your fire/fireman set?

No, I've really been wanting to do some spot news... I found out my paper has a few pagers that get fire and police reports, but they can't find the photo office's pager. :(

I'm moving to a part of town that's right next to a historic, very picturesque little firehouse, so I kinda wanted to make that a personal project after I move there.

Conclusive proof that weed and decent photography do not mix.
