i shot some photos of this guy a while back, but lost them when a hard drive crashed. I hope this makes up for that.

It's a really nice pic. The watermark is annoying, though.

-smacks forehead- always backup your data, especially photos dammit. good shot tho, ide say almost magazine quality, maybe get a lil closer or something next time (bladers are fags, boards 4 life, sry)

Ha i knew somebody would say it. Next time I'll get the watemark out of the frame... thanks for the advice... I'm trying to get in this line of work though, and this way if some kid steals it and uses for something... at least my name will be out there.

word about bladers haha, this is one of my first few times shooting rollerblading instead of skateboarding.
>> annoyingmous
Something is missing in that picture that makes it boring for me. Its probably mostly the setting, its just not so attractive with the asphalt, the sand and the grass. I wish he was jumping into water or just something that would make it more exciting. I tried to crop the bottom off, and give the impression that the fence is much longer, but I still don't like it. I am however happy with the result you got with a D200 since I am looking into buying one myself.

that's Jon Julio for anyone who doesn't know.

where did you shoot this at?
>> Anonymous
Oh and typical thing to say...bladers are fags.

all the skaters would talk shit on me untill i'd 540 into a farv (grind) on a 15 foot rail.

after that blading didn't seem so gay to them

especially when they've been skating for years and just finally got trade flips down.

oh and did you sell this to anyone for the rights?

name the organization that i saw this from and i won't think the OP is bullshitting.

did you say you were using pocketwizards? if so which ones.

also can you recommend any other flashes apposed to the vivitars you use?

It's actually just one of my local friends... shot in prattville AL.

1 pocketwizard plus transmitter, 1 pocketwizard plus receiver, 2 pocketwizard plus II transceivers (transmit or receive)

I recommend the 285's for their price, but for more power I'd recommend the Sunpak 555, it's a handle-mount flash.

i was looking at some sunpak stuff and the quality seems ok for the price. the vivtars you mention seem really cheap, which is nice considering the quality you get out of them.

ive been looking at all the pocket wizard stuff and its quite expensive. i had a look on ebay and there seem to be a lot of cheaper versions of the PWs around but the quality looks shit.

also mixing flash types, can it work? eg a vivitar 285 with a sunpak 555.

sorry to ask so many questions its just that you seem to have nailed this technique well.

Farv? That's a pretty gay name if you ask me.

Seriously, blades are fine as long as you stay away from the half-pipe or knee-high ledges. Seeing bladers do 540 in 540 out on small ledges makes me gag.

stop over waxing our shit dammit, i also broke my back on a ledge you over waxed one day when i wasnt there

OP post some more of your skate photography man

Mixing flashes is no problem. Some people might argue that they might have a different color temperature, but it's so minor if there is any difference i don't worry about it.
If you can't afford pocketwizards at the moment, save your money and don't waste any on those off-brands, I know a guy who bought those cheap ones on ebay, and ending up just buying pocketwizards anyways

i know cables can get in the way but i was just going to get some long ones to set the flashes off as i dont really need the distance that the pocket wizards provide. i would love to fucking have some though, its just the cost is a fucking nightmare for me at the moment.

you could always use a regular old slave trigger, they're not cheap as chips but they're definitely cheaper than radios
>> Anonymous
>>57729

yeah i thought about getting some of those. the only problem is that you need a flash to set them off. not a big deal but there are time when i can see this being a problem
