OK /p/, I'd like to start messing around with lighting in my photography but I'm completely clueless about where to start off as far as purchasing equipment.

How do i select the right flash/lights for me, or will anything with a PC socket and controllable power do? Thanks.

damn it, i haven't found anything there on selecting equipment, only using said equipment.

maninly because that's something you have to research yourself...

it's difficult for someone else to tell you what you need to shoot... since you're the only one with a relevant idea.

But the most rudimentary way is obviously speedlights, grab one or two and start playing around with it.
