I thought I'd give you guys a chuckle and show you how bad my current digital camera is. I'm pretty sure it's one of those shit brands that you can just pick up off the shelf in a package at Wal-Mart or something.

Anyway, I need a good camera to take photos of my displays in College, and I was thinking of getting a "Canon PowerShot 8MP (SX100IS)" because it's cheap but still looks pretty good. Any cameras around the same price that are better than that? I am REALLY bad with all this camera mumbo jumbo.

I was kinda hoping for a camera that can show really vibrant colors though. :X

Anyway, laugh at the hideous photos.

Btw, if I CAN get a good enough camera for under like 300$, I would like to dabble in photography for fun. :X I obviously can't do very much with the piece of shit I have now.

Well from the place I'm buying from I have two choices that I can afford from Canon, the A720 IS (219$) and the SX100IS.. (269$)
I went on http://www.dpreview.com/ and the SX100IS had nicer looking photos in the sample gallery and looked better in general, despite being a bit more expensive than the A series camera. Plus I like the big bulky black look.. Is the A series really better though? :X

OP again, how would one get really vibrant colors, like the stuff in girltripped's gallery?

While the camera will have an effect, a _lot_ of that is post-processing.

Ah, I thought so. I heard them say one time it was a lens they use or something though, but I dunno much about cameras. XD

I re-checked that review site and although the SX100IS I want is more expensive and the photos look better in my opinion, it is only "recommended", while the cheaper A720 IS is "Highly recommended"... I dunno what to do. XD

Op here again, the FujiFilm FinePix F50fd is on sale at BestBuy.. It looks like it takes much higher quality photos than the ones I was looking at, plus it got "highly recommended" on that site. Any opinions? :X
