And I guess my main point was just to show off this picture, which I managed to take using the "backwards lens" macro method. I was a complete bitch to get in focus, especially without disturbing it. This shot was using the 18-55 kit lens, previous was 300mm.

Reverse lens doesn't work super-well most of the time.. usually end up with the pic in a circle like this
