Huge bucket. Looks like it would have been a pretty interesting shot otherwise. Post the original.

Never ever touch the Artistic tab again.

lulz, from the thumbnail I couldn't even tell what you did
then I opened it and it burned my eyes
don't bother with photoshop filters. it's only useful tools for photo manipulation are levels, curves, color balance, and crop. Most of which are not easy to use.
I suppose there's a few extra tools i don't really know that would be good, but it's a good fundamental.

Lesson learned hah!
I just thought it would be cool to play with.
I left my hard drive locked away at work so no original pic today.

Am I late?
99.99% of the time, photoshop filter = insta-fail. The size of the bucket differs, but this one's pretty big.

There's more to photoshop than the filters, n00b. But it's where everyone starts.
Just because you can click the artistic menu doesn't mean you know photoshop.
See:>>266018, it's really where you should start. Look up how to use those tools.

See, this is a pretty okay photograph. Could use some minor curves adjustments, but it's dynamic, interesting, and generally well-composed. Like that anon said in the other thread, come back when you've figure out levels and curves.

Obvious troll is obvious.

PS: Audiophile possibly the most pretentious selfgiven title ever??

curves are where it's at. proper use of curves can turn an image into something that looks much more vintage, film-esque

The only possible good use of these filters are:

1) Make a duplicate layer
2) Apply filter
3) Generally, set filter to monochrome
4) Make it an Overlay, Soft light or other filter
5) Reduce Opacicty

That sort of effect, used sparingly, can produce interesting and subtle results.

as a rule, you should photoshop things as little as possible. That filter was a bad idea.

shooting film is also a good way of getting things to look "film-esque"

wel, its just that film cameras are so cheap these days, people should learn on them first before going digital. only shooting digital is a good way to handicap your potential as a photographer. You can pick up an old canon or nikon 35mm camera for less than a hundred bucks and the images look a lot better than much more expensive digital cameras. You have to spend a lot of money on a digital camera before it comes close to approaching the quality of shooting on film. Just go buy an old canon SLR first and you will be so much better for it.
