This is an excellent idea.

That being said, all of these pictures are mostly just snapshots. Neither the subjects nor the composition are terribly interesting. Nothing in the thumbnails compelled me to click on the pictures, and having clicked on the pictures anyway, nothing made me want to linger on them.

The first few are just some snapshots of your friends (or random people. Photographically equivalent) riding in go-karts. The pictures of firemen could've had potential for interestingness, but they're just sort of standing around not doing much. Even that could've been interesting, except you've got an extremely wide crop going on which gives you a very messy composition. E.g., in the last one, the random car is given equal visual weight as the firefighters.

tl;dr: what the fuck is this shit?

There only 500x500 crops for my flickr anyway with EXIF cut in lightroom. The firemen shots i'll admit if i got out the car and stopped i would have had better pics, it was on a standard sport mode so matrix metering and everything will have messed up the sharpness on the firemen.
But the Go-Karts i don't understand how i could have made them any more interesting unless they were crashing left right and centre, they were shot in manual. Any tips on making them action shots look more interesting wouldnt go a miss. Can provide the EXIF if you want?

You misunderstand.

I have no problem with the shots technically.

The problem is that you've chosen incredibly boring subjects, and haven't done anything at all interesting with the composition to make them interesting.

Get tighter shots, be lower to the ground it helps for the more dramatic angles

The pan would have been good if the driver took up most of the frame, but its too far away. Also short DOF can help when the background doesn't add anything to the pic. The go kart pics have potential you just need more practice, And the track is boring, so focus on the go kart and the driver! zoom waay the fuck in!

Whenever i go out shooting i always need someone to come along and pick the best ones lol, guess it's just in-experience that makes me unable to pick the best pictures out of the shoot.
