it's not a type of lens, it's a view camera (4x5).

you could also do it with a tilt/shift lens, though for work of this magnitude one would almost certainly go for large format (either film, or a scanning back).

there is undoubtedly some processing involved, but you could do all of this in-camera. this is great shit, thanks for sharing.
