Your rocks are glowing! I think the whole bottom half, including the ocean near the horizon should be the "bright version" that you took - you only need tone down the sun itself. Same with the sky, for that matter, it is far too muted. Please post the originals for comparison.

I can tell that the image properly benefited from a bracket shot, but you've over processed the HDR.

Are you using photomatix? if so tone it down a bit, notice the highlghted shadow areas? do it so it doesn't look that way.

....actually i think we've been trolled again, you probably know exactly what to do with HDRs

Also, get some square-cut GND filters and a bracket to put them in. Trust me, do it. Looks shit loads better than HDR.
