What do you guys think?

Am I doing it wrong?

How do I get rid of the awful shadow under the girl's nose?

Recommended post-processing tutorials?

I recommend you shoot it properly the first time instead of trying to shop your way out of problems.

It doesn't look like that in mah photoshop
>> Anonymous
>>274160
thank you captain obvious, you are of much help
>> Anonymous
lol wow
>> Anonymous
Terrible. Also, the colors in the original are much superior. The edit looks like an old photograph left out in the sun too long.

If it's on the web, you use the sRGB color space.
>> Anonymous
>>274195
mine doesn't have so much grain, but please do tell me how you did it
>> Anonymous
>>274197
what should I save as then to get the correct color on the web also then?
>> beethy !vW/UaE6zYU
>>274199
shadow/highlight, slight desat, curves, minor clone tooling
>> Anonymous
this thread is now about color spaces

sRGB, he already fucking said it.

Also, how does I used fill flash?
>> Anonymous
>>274222
Program mode, pop-up flash, let the camera fill in the shadows, and forget about using photochop.

Well I didn't save the psd as it was a quick thing. But off memory: Boost mids/slight black cut in levels, auto curves (I'm color blind), a dublicate background layer set to soft light with low oppacity/fill, a tan color fill layer with a low oppacity, one of the warming photo filters, some subtle tweaks with an exposure layer, a slight boost with a saturation layer, and another duplicate layer of the background highpassed/set to overlay for slight sharpening

oh man! so like, everything you shoot is in black in white ? Bet you save a lot of money not having to buy b&w film.
>> Anonymous
>>274281
lol wut? Are you refering to me being color blind? If so, it's just with red and green...

Also, 0/10

OP here, I think I actually did a better job by myself than you guys :P Thanks anyway

>>274237
yeah, I have more correctly exposed ones taken with flash but this one has both subjects looking good. and I think in the end, they are gonna care more about their looks than the quality of the photo.

OP i think this one is better than yours
your edit is still too underexposed and dark.. the older woman's features disappear into the shadows.
it's not as good.
>> Anonymous
>>274291
Oh, this is actually quite interesting. You should be able to see the tonal differences between them much better, which can potentially be used even to an advantage. My father was also red/green colorblind and worked in the photography field for many years, yet might have been most memorable for his habit of wearing oddly colored purple attire because he was unable to see the red. I guess that was a bit of a tangent, sorry. Just felt like sharing some somewhat useless knowledge, I suppose.

Now about your photo; shit sucks.

OP here, this is where I am. I'm not totally satisfied with the colors balance and it looks overexposed now, but I think it's pretty ok. What does /p/ think?

I actually learned a lot doing this!
