Alright /p/,

I'm a noob with panos, and I took the pictures for this one handheld. For the most part it came out fine except for the curved distortion.

I'm using PTGui, and since I don't know any tricks when aligning my pictures, I can't seem to get it right. The curvyness is gone if I rotate everything at a weird angle with a right click, but then that cuts off most of the edges because the workspace given in the aligning area is only so tall.

Any way to fix this? I'm guessing if it can be fixed, it's a pretty easy fix too.

That's the problem, if I crop out the black it cuts out the water, which I don't want to do.

lol nevermind, I just used a different group of pics and got something much sexier.

Thoughts on this one?

that i can answer for you

basically when doing pano shots, you need to overcompensate the area you actually want in your finishing product
if you remember vincent's awesome pano thread where he posted the raw ptgui files, you could see how much he lost too
so when you overcompensate, you don't lose anything.. if you know what i mean.

..there is a way you can fix this image, but i wouldn't recommend it
it would involve a lot of warping and distorting, but this would deteriorate the image quality and would look off also.

Fuck. I hate Texas sometimes.

Actually, a lot of the time. No snow. No mountains. Makes for boring panos.

problemm:
curved distortion in pano.

solution:
dont use a wide angle. it messes with the perspective and make the results come out like you have.

solution PT II:
shoot with a "normal" lens. try something between say 25 and up on a crop or ~ 40ish on film/FF.

hope that helps
