This guy is good. I'm wondering if anybody can help me figure out some of his technique. I know he uses a 200mm F/2.8 lens (full frame), which helps with the extreme bokeh. Colors and such look a bit saturated, but not overly done -- I'm guessing he's as good at photoshop as photography.

Bokeh is a subjective term used to measure how the out of focus "dots" are rendered (Aka soft diffused dots or Halo's) Halo's = bad, soft diffusion = good

It is not an Out of focus area, which is what you are thinking of.
>>32550There is some Halo's BTW

Anyway He just likes short Depth of Fields, which work for all these pictures (except the tiger shot where the brush on the left is a distraction), He takes the most interesting part of the shot, makes it in focus, And composes a high contrast background. The rest is just photoshop work really.

How does one compose a "high contrast background."

Lign up the shot so the background is in contrast with the subject.

So like with the girl in the first shot its a plain white background (Makes her stand out because she is a totally different color than the background)
The second to last shot same idea, The Tiger doesn't do it though, and the first model posted doesn't as much (the bright green is quite small)

You're talking about selectively choosing the background in photochop and altering colors and such separately from the subject?

no via composition
