The flash itself is pretty ghetto-fab. The design I based on a tutorial, by whom I forgot, but it's pretty simple. The box is about 3 inches deep with a square cut out of the back and a ring in the front. The inside of the ring has another square cut in it and then the inner part of the ring is connected to the inside of the box with a 3 inch section from a lens package. The inside of the box is lined with foil and sprayed chrome, and a sheet of wax paper is taped over the face to act as a diffuser. The Sunpak 383 goes in through a slot in the bottom, overall it makes a very light setup that I could easily handhold if I needed to.
