i'm looking for a new compact digital point and shoot camera. i'm mainly looking into canon's SD models since i hear good things about canon. what point-and-shoot cameras do you guys have, and what do you recommend?

I have a Canon Powershot SD750 and it's a pretty decent little camera for the pricetag. It takes good quality pictures and has a pretty good zoom. However, the shutter speed can be slow as hell and forget about taking any low lighting pictures.

You can take low light pictures if you have a tripod and use longer exposures.

I've had two SD series cameras and they've both been awesome. I'm in the uk so the one I have now's called the ixus 950IS. Not sure which SD it is in the us. It's the 8 megapixel one with the optical viewfinder and the little wheel on the side. I think it's the best most resonably priced one. There are only 2 better than it in the series but I think they're a little too expensive and the 950IS is all you'd need.
