I don't want to start a holy war here, but what is the deal with you Mac fanatics? I've been sitting here at my freelance gig in front of a Mac (a 8600/300 w/64 Megs of RAM) for about 20 minutes now while it attempts to copy a 17 Meg file from one folder on the hard drive to another folder. 20 minutes. At home, on my Pentium Pro 200 running NT 4, which by all standards should be a lot slower than this Mac, the same operation would take about 2 minutes. If that.

In addition, during this file transfer, Netscape will not work. And everything else has ground to a halt. Even BBEdit Lite is straining to keep up as I type this.

I won't bore you with the laundry list of other problems that I've encountered while working on various Macs, but suffice it to say there have been many, not the least of which is I've never seen a Mac that has run faster than its Wintel counterpart, despite the Macs' faster chip architecture. My 486/66 with 8 megs of ram runs faster than this 300 mhz machine at times. From a productivity standpoint, I don't get how people can claim that the Macintosh is a superior machine.

Mac addicts, flame me if you'd like, but I'd rather hear some intelligent reasons why anyone would choose to use a Mac over other faster, cheaper, more stable systems.

Copypasta is copy.

The first one and the latter two are great.

Oh, and macs suck.
>> Hyperbolie !/vvPu8L6pA
I think it's because that in the past Macs were probably better at visual aspects like resolution and it had photoshop.

Other than that I dunno. Although, for some reason stuff like pictures, illustrations, photography, flash, anything media related looks nicer when you use a Mac

JFYI, you're an idiot.

This has got to be the stupidest thing I have ever read. My dad has a mac. Say's the thing is indestructable, and cant be frozen. I froze that goddamn thing 5 times in one day. Only going to a website which any other pc could most definitely go to with no problem at all. Oh, and the graphics look the same, just load a hell of a lot slower, along with every other peice of shit application packed in it.

PS: The 3rd picture is damn awesome.
Keep up the great work. Macro's are my personal favorite kind of photos.

Jeez guys calm down. You'll say the same thing too when your monitor and PC is over 5+ years old. -_-

Besides, the last time I used a mac was over 3 years ago for a computer class. Forgot which version but I know it had a tower and it was more powerfull than the computer I had. (I think it was a OSX but take that with a grain of salt.) My college probably replaced the computers since then but chances are my computer is probably less powerfull compared to the macs in my school.

Aside from visual aspects when it comes to stability/use I dont think a PC is better than a Mac or visa versa. While the interface is more user friendly and more 'to the point' in macs it still has its problems i/e when it locks up on you and other shit and there's not really a ctrl/alt/del that I know of. I hate the fact that I have to memorise command keys in macs when I could just right click/whatever, although you can do that with the new mouse the Mac has now and you can use a 2 button mouse. Not to mention that the macs operate in a world of their own. Besides, for some reason in the art indrustry the majority has macs but not everybody does.

So yeah I belive that a mac is better visually but that's because I can only compare it to the only computer I have. Now I've seen the new PCs and they're fucking beautiful. And with a graphics card and a kick ass screen it's godly.

But enough about macs/pc. I want a high res wallpaper of the OP's first, second, and third pic. :)

Serious lol @ anyone who replied to the freelance gig on a mac troll. Honestly, you need to lurk moar, A LOT.

Anyway, I decided to meet the request of fellow fourchanners and convert the RAWs.

Enjoy, I guess.

PS: I'm not converting the snail pic because tbh I think it more or less sucks.

PPS: the Sigma f/2.8 105mm macro lens kicks serious ass. I've yet to try it out with the EOS 5D, but I should have a chance sometime soon.

Hmh, converting them in Photoshop killed the EXIF information.

TBH I'm not sure the colours are correct for this one, so here goes nothing.
