... ah, i see you've done a quite proper job of capturing a pair of wild egotists in their natural habitat ...

here's a few tips
1) tell your gf to stop staring into the lens. maybe it's your personal bias that all these pictures just happen to have her looking into the lens but seriously ... vary it up. maybe a different hair color/style. her face lends itself to shorter hair. masquara too.

2) you look like the son of goatboy. don't QC with that hair. it goes against what that hairstyle represents.

3) i'm sure you've heard this one before. Cut your hair. No, not all of it actually. Just trim. There's a fine line between having hair and it having you. Your hair ruins your pics by drawing attention away from any positive facial features and saying 'hey, look at me i'm a big gnarled hair beast coming out of this kid's head'.

an alternative tip, if you wanna GQ and since you seem to have long-ish hair, you may want to consider corn-rows ala david beckham but much more brown/black. blond/light cornrows on white skin is not generally good.

I really like your photos, can you elaborate on the lighting a post-processing?
>> eku !8cibvLQ11s
>>120681

Now, this really starts to interets me, why everytime I post myself here on /p/, people are advising me to cut my hair.
People who think this way, where do you live? What does dreads represent where you live?

Nowhere else people doesn't do that.

And what does QC mean?

nice tight lighting, the hat is sitting too high on her head and distracting me though, other than that I like it a lot

>>120673
I like this shot of you, nice and clean, there's a couple of hot spots/close to blown whites on the shirt but I think you can get away with it - BECAUSE WE'RE ALL TOO DISTRACTED BY YOUR HAIR!

really though, don't cut your hair, i really regret losing my dreads years ago to be more of a corporate man :(

you look good

In the US, dreadlocks are generally only worn by hippies and/or stoners.

Also, your gf looks like she's about 12. So, of course, /r/ nudes.
>> Anonymous
Yeah, even if most people don't like them, if you like them and like whatever they say about you to people you meet, keep them.

I'm almost never without a Tilley hat, even though lots of people think it looks silly and I get asked if I'm on safari by random store clerks if I have my camera with me. My closest friend just got her tongue pierced and most people she knows think she's crazy for it. Another friend of mine will get up like a pirate sometimes, just because he likes it. We don't think the dreads look good on you. So what?

"Vice Five: Seek Fashion First, Then seek to be Understood

In these days of dressing down and 'casual Fridays,' it's prudent to remember that the highly creative have always known that communication with words is secondary. When winning friends and influencing people, the primary concern is your attire -- your own peculiar fashion statement. It is through the impact of this image that both friends and enemies will initially come to know you. What is more gratifying than having everyone stop and stare, wondering why they feel so drab and ineffectual, when you enter a room? If you've got a stylish wardrobe, the battle to be understood is merely a stroll in the park.

One of the inevitable consequences of dressing down is that everyone today looks the same -- and those with designer logos like Hilfiger plastered on their clothes look plain stupid. The highly creative always choose their wardrobes with a more consistent flair. Whether it be Picasso with his striped sailors' tops, which he imagined gave him an eternally boyish edge; or Hugh Hefner with his classic pipe and silk pajamas, which he believed gave him a kind of worldly nonchalance (and could be stripped off quickly when opportunity knocked); the creative spirit picks a style and sticks with it."- D.A. Blyler, from "The Seven Vices of Highly Creative People."

Dreads have always been a sign of bad personal hygiene to me. It's always the street kids who don't take showers that have them.
>> Anonymous
>>120815
It's a common misconception, some dreads are filthy but most I see are quite well maintained and clean
>> Anonymous
>>120823
the dirtiness isn't necessarily the dreads. I associate it more with the dirtiness of the person they're attached to.
>> Anonymous
>>120742
i meant GQ instead of QC.

and when i meant cut it i didn't mean go corporate. long hair / dreads are fine.

but for example, in>>120673I would take an inch or two off in general, trim some of the strays to keep keep focus on the overall image, and pull back more of the dreads on the left side of your face/right side of the image.

and i get you're going for the 'i'm too cool to care' lean so you don't agree with my crit on the hair. but if that's the direction you are going for then go all the way. why wear the department store shirt, use a standard studio background, and throw a cliche male model pose?

i guess the composition is just throwing me off. it's two contrary messages like 'i want people to think i don't care but i really really do'.

btw, what part of the world are you from? And what do dreads general signify in your culture.

I live in California. Dreads are generally synonymous with the rasta lifestyle in mentality if not also in recreational lifestyle.

Sometimes only the flash with snoot, sometimes only the backflashes, sometimes both.

Now I understand more about people's dread hate.
I come from Finland, and maybe back in the 90's all people with dreads were hippies or just some stoners. Nowdays, some still are hippies and stoners, but there's just so many "normal" people with dreads, who thinks it's just a hairstyle, and nothing more.

For me, it's also just a hairstyle. A hairstyle, I wouldn't never change. <3

(Ps. I hate hippies.)

There's a difference between "your shit sucks" and "you suck, you monstrous faggot, and your model is a fat cum dumpster." (Or any variation thereof. Also note this is an example: I don't think eku sucks, that he is a monstrous faggot, that his girlfriend is fat, or that she is a cum dumpster.)

We've been seeing far too much of the latter on /p/ lately.

butthurt weenie. lol. serves you right for starving some poor girl to suit your own ends. not a healthy image to promote.
>> Anonymous
>>121207

Seeing as you asked me to comment on it, I do think your girlfriend is surprisingly fat and ugly. That thing is Conan O'Brien in a wig.

With the first shot it's as if Conan (in drag) was coming out of a gay bar and has been caught in the headlights by the press or his angry wife, the beam of light blasting out and causing that mad, wild-eyed stare.

Terribly unflattering and not good to look at.

The last shot was the best one, but the framing isn't right and I don't like the heavy "PSKaught" imitation of it. The outfit was also not so good a choice.

you should trade gf with beethy for a while. beethy can starve your porker down and you can feed his skinny crack addict up.

Hey anon fags with extremely high standards! :] Hi!

Show me pictures of your hot girlfriends.

I think eku's girlfriend is adorable, there's nothing wrong with the way she looks at all.

>> Anonymous
>>121268

You are pathetic. You are trying to pretend there is no such thing as beauty now. Give it up. A mannish porker is a mannish porker. It doesn't mean that she isn't fun for you or anyone else to be with, but in a photo all we see is her bad looks, not the wonderful personality that you fell in love with. Get a grip on reality and stop being so defensive.

Can you imagine that beast in porn? Can you imagine her as a Hollywood beauty? A model? No. None of the above.
>> Anonymous
>>121273

this kind of shit happens all the time in /k/. someone starts a thread on hot women with guns and then some idiot posts his fat old wife at the range. sure he probably loves her a lot, but that doesn't make her pretty to everyone else. the guy who posted the hound always gets his panties in a twist and rages for a while due to the butthurt.
>> beethy !HJGkSBB3Ao
>>121273
Where the fuck do you get off on calling her a beast? You're fucking sad.
eku is taking photos of his girl because she is a part of his life, like the world around him is a part of him.
that's what photographers do, they capture what they find beautiful.

@eku: aukea.net is a good place for getting somewhat helpful critique in finnish. while people are usually quite picky there, everyone is required to use their real name to keep up the quality of the discussions. check it out.

that said, /p/ rocks for its flamewars, trolls and general retardedness. posting your gf is pretty much asking for a shitstorm, and getting all butthurt over it doesn't help too much, lulz.

Can I ask what you were aiming for with these? I find that looking back at something and considering this can help decide what went wrong or what went right. Otherwise winging it all the time and not thinking about it can lead to someone going snap happy but not absorbing everything from it! It would help with C&C as well.
