i want to print them as 4"x6" photos at the store, what pixel size should i make my files so they fit in them?

do i have to crop them or no? just resize?

Work with me here, okay. A dot is, for all intents and purposes, a pixel, right? DPI stands for Dots Per Inch. Your print size is 4x6 inches. If you can't figure it out, you're too young to be on this board.

4x6 is the size of the print not the amount of pixels. The amount of pixels depends on how many pixels per inch are in the photo, hence ppi or dpi.

call up the place you're getting your prints done at, and ask them what dpi you should use. if they don't know, then your prints aren't going to come out that great, no matter what you do.
