ITT: pro tips Anonymous
in this thread, we post a personal pro tip and share with other /p/ fags

my pro tip is to use a portable DVD player as a display for reviewing/showing pictures to people

plug it in video out from your camera and let them handle it

it gives them a larger and brighter screen for checking out their pictures and avoids having them handle your shit, no grease, finger prints, accidents

post your pro tips

when i hold my camera, i wrap the cord around my wrist until it's taught. i find that holding the camera becomes more sturdy, and you can get better shots.

Support the camera by the lens, not the other way around.

Never do an important shoot with a new camera, even if you know it works flawlessly. There will always be something you missed.

Never fuck the Maid of Honor.
Any of the other Bridesmaids are fair game, but fucking the Maid of Honor will always result in an angry bride.

what a shit tip OP...

we all know what tight resolution most TV's get.

uh, portable dvd players have higher resolution than even a d300/d700/d3/a700's lcd screen

plus they're like 7"-9" so it's better than the small screen on your camera

Pro Tip: Carry a fake ID with you, it wont fool you past security, but it when coupled with a SLR, confidant posture, and a loud but polite voice, you can get anyone you want out of the way of a shot of a event and so on
>> Anonymous
uhhh, carrying a fake ID is illegal in a lot of countries

unless you mean a fake press pass

it might get you in a club or something but anything larger than that and you're fucked

pro tips in /p/ = insta fail
we're all amateurs

i like this thread nonetheless.
uh... lets see.
something that's always worked well for me with shorter lenses only, when you're in an area you know you'll get great pictures at...just walk around with the viewfinder right up to your eye. literally use that as your only source of vision.
look up, down... everywhere.. don't forget to crouch down from time to time.
and be careful not to walk into shit if you're using an ultra wide.

this is seriously how i've gotten some of my better urban shots.
