Always annoying when the subject refuses to perform. It's a little dull perhaps because of the angle you chose. It might have looked better if you had moved around or got in closer. I know those Fuji cameras can focus very close on their super macro mode.

I tried, but I couldn't get any closer without hitting the plant an knocking him off.

snail has run out of laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Might be better if you cropped a lot of that leaf away at the bottom. Concentrate more on the better lit part.

The big darker area of leaf is distracting.

I prefer that new one. I find I'm looking more at the snail than the leaves around it. That camera can get a good level of detail for the money.

I think that's about as good as you can get from that shot. Ideally a reshoot of something similar would be the best option. I think you'll manage it if you persevere.

As it's a snail, perhaps next time you could try a little manipulation of the scene? It won't hurt it to pick it up and move it a little if it means you can stop if falling off.

Alright, I'll look into that next time.
Can't reshoot: this is in Sweden and I live in California. We don't have hooge snails like Skane's.

Thanks for the tips, /p/.
