I really dislike photos that are altered to be black and white with one color to highlight the subject. It seems like a really cheesy/overdone way to make an otherwise boring photo "artistic." Whenever I see someone do something like that, I tell them to be more subtle about it. Right now your photo is just black and white with a highlight of YELLOW. The yellow slaps the viewer in the face, and you should probably be more subtle about it.
Rather than completely desaturating 95% of the photo and leaving the other 5% intensely colored. Try to be more subtle about it. What I did here in photoshop is just an example [a bad one too, since I had to airbrush some color into the grass], buy maybe you'll get an idea of what I'm getting at.
Also, you've got a good focus on the bug and the flower, I'd get rid of some of the negative space to draw more attention to the subject.
