Windows Explorer
Windows Photo and Fax Viewer
Microsoft Raw Viewer.

I'm not going to go drop a huge amount of money to do something my computer already does.

I'd really like to use a dedicated soft that allows for good metadata though. I've used extensis portfolio at work before but I'm not sure it's what I really want.

Aperture. It'll be more useful to me once I can actually start KEEPING photos on my hard drive for longer than a month. I'm using an old powerbook with a pretty small hard drive, and I have to burn a DVD every month in order to clear up space. This month I had to burn two. :(

I love Aperture though. I need to give Lightroom a try also.

Windows explorer. Ive never used bridge on purposed only opened it by accident n closed straight away.

I use Bridge. I used to just use the Windows file system but now that I shoot RAW it's kind of impossible. I tried Lightroom beta but it was too slow for processing a lot of files.

I'm liking Lightroom a lot. Also, it might be a placebo, but it seems to do a much better job with NEF conversion than Photoshop (at least up to CS2, I haven't seen CS3 yet).

I'm actually enjoying lightroom as well. It seems to be a bit laggy even on a fast machine, but its interface has everything in the right place and is good for quick management / quick touch up of stuff.

For actual organizing, I only use windows folders. Living on a dedicated raid-1 array, occasionally backed up to DVD.

Windows Photo Gallery for tagging/viewing, and Faststone Image Viewer (you should really give it a try, it's free!) for batch works, like rotating images straight and resizing them.

I'll be the odd man out and say I use Google's Picasa. Fast, useful, and it does exactly what I need it to do, which is keep shit organized. Not to mention, it's free, and probably one of the best programs in this category out there.

:) you asked... heh.

Honestly, i don't think it can make anything that big, but if it does... that'd be absolutely crazy.

I use Picasa2 too. Fast, reliable, and linked to my Google Account. Can send mail w/ auto resizing. Really cool.

picasa2 for now.

but i have a 30 day trial with Lightroom and i love it sooo much.

The last time I used Picasa I realized that if I changed my diskdrive everything would break. Does this still happen?
