So /p/, I have some dust or something in the body/shutter of my D40, and I need to get it out, any suggestions? You can see it top center in this pic.

If you can see it at f/3.5, there's probably more dust in there.

Take a shot of a clean piece of paper or a clear sky at the smallest aperture you can (f/22 or so) and then auto-level the shot in photoshop.

Google for how to clean the ccd, it's not as difficult as many people dramatize it to be.

http://www.luminous-landscape.com/essays/sensor-cleaning.shtml is a good place to start, but don't just rely on that.

Looks like it might be a smudge. If you have to take anything apart to get at it, I'd recommend you have it professionally cleaned.
