They all kind of suck. Sorry. Try and get closer to your subject, so they take up more of the frame. Find interesting lighting, but don't over expose them like your 1st and third photos. Google for a photo book, or some famous photos, just try and see what makes those photos so good. Also, don't do whatever you did the first one that made it so burned on the sides again.

You couldn't possibly have seen them before! Just took them yesterday!

Thanks for the input. I defiantly am going to work towards getting a bit more experienced, but it was fun to go out in the country and do this.

Gotcha. Other than the leaks, the first one is rather nice. Also, I wasn't trolling. I was just trying to help out a newbie. In return for my misinterpreted intent, a terrible photo I took from the first roll I put through my SLR.

I REALLY like the first.

I like the first in third but it's the kind of thing that's a fluke. You shouldn't have over-exposed pictures unless it's for effect, and in your case the effect works even though it's way off what it should be. I doubt they would be as good if they were done "right."
Basically, you're breaking all the rules but it looks good anyway...which is a good sign actually.
You have a lot to learn but it's interesting seeing an objective style.

The first image really speaks to me. I love the way the people in the back are juxtaposed against the subject on the pumpkin. Even with people around, it is still solitude.

Unless it was a spectra pro, I don't think this guy had too much manual control over how his polaroid was exposed
