Are these any good or just a cheap gimmick? More portable than a tripod but you'd need to find things to wrap them around. Anyone used one and are they actually sturdy or just a POS?

Personally, I'm going to buy an ultrapod and save $30. Less sexy but it looks like it can do the same job.

there's small ones for compacts and larger, more robust ones for prosumer and DSLRs. I use one, and it's handy sometimes. A lot of placs that don't like tripods, i've found, don't mind if yuou wrap this shit around something, which is weird, but it works.
