Favorite (not to be confused with greatest, although all these guys are awesome and HCB would make that list, too) photographer would either be Cartier-Bresson, Koudelka, or Harvey.
And although he was only a photographer on the side of poetry, Allen Ginsberg. His being a photographer on the side of poetry is what got me interested in photography in the first place, and he was actually pretty good. Those photographs you see on the covers of the orange-spined paperback editions of Kerouac are mostly his, though sometimes they throw in a few of someone else's. He was good friends with Richard Avedon, Robert Frank, and Elsa Dorfman, too, for whatever that's worth.
