Hey, guys. I've been wanting to get into photography as a hobby for some time now. Me, a digital camera, and some nature. I took a couple of shots, but this would be my favorite. Constructive criticism is welcomed. If it's good, it's good, if it's bad, it's bad. 100% of what you think. Thanks. =)

Their bad. Both are out of focus, over exposed, and the subjects are boring.

Then I thank you. Any way I could make them better, or tips that a newcomer should know?

The first picture is bad. You took a snapshot of a spring. There's not much more to it. Composition is boring. Subject is centered. It's just lame. The second one's not as horrible. It has a kind of nice variation in focus and the blooming of the light in the background is sort of nice I guess. The angle makes it a little more interesting than it would be otherwise, but not it's still not a really interesting picture.
As a general rule, centering a subject of focus in your picture is bad. Also, remember that an interesting subject alone doesn't make a picture. Try to make interesting compositions with a boring subject, and then when you do have an interesting subject, your picture will just be that much better.

Very much appreciated! I will definitely be taking all your tips into my photographs. :)
