I can get this Konica Auto S for $10, but I already have a SLR.
I need some opinions, are these worth having and buying film for every once in a while?

Sure, why not. 10 dollars for the camera and 5 bucks for a roll of film is nothing. Learn to develop it yourself and you'll have a lot of fun.

If you're just shooting 200 ASA color print film and getting it processed at wal-mart, then it's less interesting, but you'll still learn a lot about photography by shooting with a camera with all manual features.

Assuming op was correct saying SLR not dSLR, there isnt much its going to give you if you already shoot film

Otherwise if you have a dSLR and a bunch of lenses, look at getting a film body for that instead.

yea woops, meant dSLR

Then yeah getting a cheap film body to practice with isnt a bad idea, if it bites you and you love it, then look at getting a SLR body in the same mount as you have already.

$10 cant really go wrong, esp with a Konica <3

Seconding the suggestion that you go for it. It's cheap and you'll probably have fun with it.

We all know you'd just spend the money on hookers and blow anyway. ;)

Rangefinders are nice and different, go for it.

True. Because of the lack of mirror slap, they're nice and quiet, plus you can hand hold them at crazy slow shutter speeds.

>you can hand hold them at crazy slow shutter speeds
Bullshit invented by rangefinderfags. The minimum shutter speed for hand-holding isn't slower than on a compact or a SLR with mirror lockup.

Ha! Yeah, have fun shooting an SLR hand-held with the mirror locked up. I know it's possible, I also know it's stupid.

Timed mirror lockup works OK for static subjects.

And anyway, image stabilization already made this discussion useless.
