I have a D80 and am seriously considering saving up for the 18-200 VR, but is it worth the money, Its around £400 here and there is a sigma one for under £200 (without VR) and £350 (with VR).

Any one have this lense? Could you give some examples of it at different focal lengths?

It is almost the "only lens you'll ever need" for amateur shooting. I shoot a d80 with the 18-200 and the VR saves you a lot of shaky shake. I have not used the Sigma tho. The distortion is a bit pronounced at the 18 end, but it still gives you pelnty of usability at all ranges.

I am no pro tho, so don't expect a pro description.

All you need is a D40 and a 18-200VR and you will be making money like the professionals do. No need to every buy anything else, ever.
