My camera is having a lot of trouble focussing in dark situations so I still miss a lot of shots even though I have the bounce flash. What can I do to fix this? I have a 18-55mm Nikon lens.

I hope these were jokes...

Anyway, a real suggestion: Get a flashlight. Point the flashlight where you want to autofocus.

Alternately, manually focus. If you're using a bounce flash, you might have a small enough aperture to do that effectively. You're a bit smarter than your autofocus, so you won't have to search as much.

i'm assuming that you have an SB600, if so, the speedlite has a built in AF illuminator, thus assisting in AF

What exposure mode are you using? If it's Matrix, FOOORGET ABBOOOT IT.

Change it to spot metering in darker situations. IT'll make a huge difference.
