I thought this was just a really interesting pic that I took while on vacation in Japan. I know the quality is a little horrible. My camera doesn't take good pictures in the dark.

There's a whole lot of noise, but it's pretty good considering you're probably an ameture who doesn't know how to use manual settings. You have talent, but a lot to learn.

thats the brightest dark ive ever seen, also i like it but i agree with>>95675

It really is a shame about the quality of the image because the picture is great.

This is a case where you would really want to set a low iso and stick this thing on a tripod. If you like auto settings, I would suggest using Program, you can set most things to auto if you want but have the option of changing them as well.

Its really good! You might wanna try a program like noise ninja on it. Its bad, but you can tweak it. I wanted to see in as black and white, noise reduced, with more contrast.

Looks mundane now. Way to fail. I like the original.

On the subject of noise reduction, what do other /p/eople suggest? Same program? Different one?

I've heard of noise ninja quite a lot and some of my friends use it.

I generally don't care too much about noise as I shoot in ISO 100-200, never more and the noise reduction in Lightroom is adequate for my purposes.

Noise reduction is more about getting the correct exposure, underexposing too much and then trying to bring up the exposure exacerbates the noise in the ambient shadows.

Also, APS-C ISO 100 is very very different from P&S ISO 100...

The viable road in digital for decent iso performance is APS-C or higher. Unless of course Sigma finally makes their APS-C sensored P&S... which would have been a great feat.

Go back to Japan and take it again. You owe it to photography.

I'll volunteer as long as this is somewhere in Okinawa.
