Astrophotography Anonymous
Hello, I'm looking to buy a Digital SLR in the near future. I was looking at the Canon EOS 30D. I plan on doing a lot of astrophotography so I want a camera that can handle it well. Should I get the 30D?

You might want to see if you can find a Canon 20Da somewhere if there isn't an "a" version of the 30D out yet. (the "a" was a astrophotography tuned camera) see - http://www.bobatkins.com/photography/digital/eos20da.html

For what it's worth, if you haven't done Astro at all yet, you might want to look at an old film SLR like the Minolta SRT-101's. They're cheap, damned-near indestructible , and with decent lenses (fairly cheap) you get some GREAT pix out of them....

OTOH I have a '30 now - first trials have been less-than-impressive. Here's a shot for you - Canon 30D + Meade ETX-90 90MM telescope via T-Mount
