ok /p/, i have a very serious question. currently, i am lined up to attend juniata college next year and major in museum studies. its basically about learning how to manage the business end of museums.

however, my dream has always been opening up a photography studio. i just dont want to be poor all my life. should i start doing photo on the side as a weekend thing and if it picks up quit my day job? what does /p/ think?

Get into a broader degree program. If you're interested in the museum stuff, get a basic business degree and focus on art electives. That way when you end up wanting/needing to do something completely different, you can.

Pick up photography on your own, freelance with newspapers, run a studio out of your house, be superbusy and possibly hate life and turn a hobby into a hell. Enjoy.

Seriously though, why the fuck do they even have that degree program? Get out while you can for your own sake and get into something broader.
