Knew it was an N73 immediately from the thumbnail. Gotta love that purple haze eh?

It's quite amusing that Nokia spent the effort to include a comparatively OK (plastic tessar) lens and actual mechanical shutter yet failed so hard in their choice of sensor.

Oh and for comparison I have a sonyericsson walkman phone from 2005: It's got generic plastic optics, an 'electronic shutter' and a million less pixels yet 90% of the time takes far better photos than Nokia's once flagship cameraphone. GG guys.

Something I've always wondered about: why do non-SLR digital cameras still need a shutter? The camera is getting the image anyway, so what's the point of the shutter?
