i don't need to refute them, since i agreed with you early on. really, i did; go read my post. i only took umbrage with the bold claim that only a few people actually need photoshop. it's a silly claim. there are thousands of concept artists who depend on photoshop for day-to-day jobs, not to mention print shops, advertising photographers, so on and so forth.
and i love gimp, by the way. i mean, obviously, i do. my first post in this thread was in full support of gimp. I used gimp way back when it was a buggy, problematic piece of shit that didn't have even a quarter of the functionality that photoshop 5.5 had at the time. it's nice to see it's still prospering, especially with the flourishing interest in open source software these days.
