Does /p/ like Brittan's new anti-terrorist campaign?

Somehow, seeing abdul in khaki shorts and a Hawaiian shirt taking photos for later "blow ups" seems a dead give away...

Britain has almost bought into this bullshit more than Dubya's followers.

I guess they have a slightly more valid concern since they've had to deal with the whole Britain/Ireland thing for some time.

o for fucks sake Britain is getting retarded

rofls... Now my stomach hurts a touch. Any whoo, on to the rant...

Ok, I'm not a great photographer so I still take notes every few frames. Shutter speed apeture all that jaz. I'm not good enough to just look at a scene, turn a few dials and get a great picture. I like to go back review my notes and learn from my mistakes. The next time I get hit in the head with a stick for taking a picture and jotting down a note, I'll, well, I'll do something bad.

please note: I can usually be a dick but i've been awake for around 36 hours and my dick head mood is nowhere to be found.

This sort of stuff pisses me off. I like wandering around and taking pictures of the most interesting sections of the city. Commonly those sections are things like bridges, the big seals on sides of gov't buildings etc. I am always paranoid I will end up having some 'splaining to do about what I am up to.

Have fun watching our hobby be destroyed when the new police state is put in place. It's already being crippled for "security reasons" and other "terrorist" bullshit.

Have a look at www.no2id.net to see a little of what they have in store for us. Goodbye freedom. Goodbye privacy.

from the looks of that i think the brits are more fucked than us. at least we have a constitution...you've got nothing once they bring that in.

Cameras should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of the cameras.

Britain has more cameras per population watching the people than the US and just about any other places you can think of.

If this ID and database crap goes through then a lot of people will reconsider their opposition to the independence movements. Say goodbye to the union and so the UK.

Britfag here, a couple of months ago I took a picture of a policeman+woman in an Iceland shop from the street. They notice and the policeman immediately walks out of the store towards me.

First thing he said was "Why did you just do that?!" - I told him photography's my hobby. Then he starts telling me to delete the photo and I told him I had every right to take the photo as I was on the street, and wasn't breaking the law.

Then the fucker breaks out the joker, and says I'm 'acting suspiciously' and that he'll take me to the police department if I didn't delete it.

I was there waiting for my girlfriend to finish work so we could go out somewhere, and I didn't fancy having her worry when the police take me away, so I just gave in.

That was my first confrontation from anyone whilst doing street photography, fucking pigs.

You have every right not to delete the photo as it is evidence.

I would love to make this report to the police if I lived there.

"Hello London police department. I would like to report suspicious activity. You see someone has placed cameras on polls at certain streets, stations, and terminals I and want you to know about this because I am worried for my life".

I don't want any trouble though. If the police hold it against me it'd get tough. I've got a job and a family and a mortgage. I can't drop everything for it while they depend on me. Time off for chasing this thing won't happen. I'll turn the other cheek and hope for the best.
>> Blackadder !!bSWRwu/NqzQ
I often read the photography magazines available in the UK and as sad as it is to say I've heard of similar cases to those bully-boy policemen cropping up every now and then in the news sections. There are some court cases that are on-going for various similar cases, I believe. You might be in luck if they rule against the police. Helps set or reinforce a precedent of freedom for photographers.

>>136926
That's horrible. I've actually never had that happen before where someone comes up to me demanding I delete the photo.

'course I'm in the US so I dunno. Maybe I haven't gotten that one pissed off cop yet.

Just wait until the ID cards, the new databases, government powers to monitor and interfere and the police powers to enforce it all roll in over the next few years. It'll make that seem like an everyday occurrence.
>> eku !8cibvLQ11s
I was at the France one, in Paris, to be more exact.

Military was visible everywhere, so, of course I photographed them.
But once some soldier saw me doing that, and... did that thing with his finger, you know, that from side to side, don't know word for it, but what you show to kids who are bad.
So, I didn't dare to disagree with them. For some reason rifles doesn't make me feel secure and safe.

Ever seen "Children of Men?"

Roving mobs of religious immigrants? Guns? Bombings? Internment camps?

..Thats future Britain.

Sadly there'll be more nobhead children than in the film.

Most of us can't even film/photograph our kid's sports days because there'll be other kids in the shots, that's fucking stupid.

I couldn't take pictures of/film my sister's dance exam last year and she was 16 damnit, it's rediculous.
