Hi /p/,

A question condenses in my mind, is it possible to manufacture the effects of a Circular polarizing filter in Photoshop?

Ive just sent off for a Hoya Pro1 CPL you see..

For the blue skys:
Make a transparent->black gradient across the sky to simulate where the transition from the polorizer would be. Then set the opacity to something like colour burn etc.

For reflections & everything else:
Get a cpl.

For the blue of the sky, you can get something similar.
For what it does to reflections, off of plants, water, whatever, you can't, because it's an issue of what the sensor actually captures. And the effect it can have on evening out your exposure can't really be replicated unless we're talking about merging a couple different exposures. As in, between a shot with and without, the sky ends up looking the same; it was darkened by the polarizer, which caused a little longer exposure. Sky turns out about the same, ground ends up brighter.

No. You can't modify data that isn't there etc.

As a side point, i shot the panorama above and attempted to save the blown out white sky, that may be obvious,m but i didnt hear anyone say it was horrible...

you just need the $10 CPL by Targus from Walmart to do it because it does a good job for the price

Dunno about the others, but I was just answering the question. I figured the shot was filler.

made the water nice and deliciously diarrhea brown

That's actually not bad.
The brownish water kinda stinks, but the way it cancels out the highlights on the water is probably worth it.
>> elf_man !!DdAnyoDMfCe

Heh, that would be the actual color of the water.
If he went about halfway on the polarization in a case like this, the overall effect might be nicer.
