Thoughts about the Canon EF-S 17-85 f/4-5.6 IS USM Anonymous
I've always thought the EF-S 17-85 has been very lacking for such a price tag.

I guess it was fine before the 17-55 came long or before the third party companies decided to one up Canon. But I've been somewhat disappointed by its performance in less than ideal conditions.

It's still plenty good for what it is, an affordable high ratio zoom with IS. You just feel like you could have more, that you're pushing its limits, at the end of the day.

Anyway, I'd just like Canon to update it, maybe like Pentax's fairly impressive 17-70 f/4. Top it off with IS and it will be great.

Oh, and here is a random snapshot I've taken with the 17-85 because we can talk about gear all we want now that I've posted a random snapshot.

Also, inb4 sage and 0/10 because it's becoming a bit too predictable.

Here you can see why it's just lacking under less than idea conditions.

Cloudy sky and all.

I don't know why the last random snapshot didn't save EXIF.

But then again, it's the only wideish lens I have so I make do with it.
