>> Anonymous
>>231743
i have a uv filter on my lens as well... please explain the problem
>> Anonymous
for faggotry
>polar filter
Heh. You loose 2-3 stops of light
inb4targus
>lens cap
which you have to waste time removing, faggot.

With a UV filter, I never cap my lenses, I just wipe it clean. Even then, you have to take a dump on one to affect image quality.

the day i lost faith in /p/

I'm still waiting for it to come out in the USA. Anyone know the store date?
>> Anonymous

It actually costs more to repair the lens if you get a UV filter stuck on the end of it compared to bashing the front element itself.
>> Anonymous
>>232132
I don't believe that. A pair of vise-grips will take the filter off nicely. Destroy the filter, maybe, but that's cheap to replace.

>>231743
I use UV filters for the same reason as>>231950does. That is, as a lens cap when I'm walking around the streets. If I'm not going to be taking photos, I put a cap on, but taking it off means that I might miss the shot. So I leave the cap off. I'd rather smash a UV filter into a wall than the front element of my lens, though.

1000D is not that much better than the 400D.. why didn't you get that instead, OP?
unless you really enjoy liveview
>> Anonymous
>>232155
Well ive seen both happen and cost for changing the whole barrel which the filter was stuck on was around 75 euros while changing the front element costed 60 euros. Not a big difference but still.

Lens in use was a sigma 70-200

You fucking left handed freak, OP.

Should of got a used rebel xt or xti and spent the money you saved on a good lens
>> Anonymous
>>232314
