I have a 500/f5.6 Rubinar lens. So far I'm content, but I admit it doesn't have a lot of practical uses.
Pros: Cheap ($300), short, very sharp, built like a T-34 tank.
Cons: HEAVY like a T-34 tank, bokeh, fixed aperture, terrible quality of bundled accessories, doesn't fit on Canons due to protruding flash.
Also, don't buy cheap Chinese mirror lenses, they all suck. Russian mirror lenses can suck too, but at least you have a chance.
