See pic. I used a picture frame that I had out for another project instead of cardboard, but just replace the picture frame with a piece of cardboard the same size/shape.
To use it, just put it between what ever you are shooting and the gun. When you shoot through it, the pieces of foil will temporarily contact each other and trigger the flash. I hooked mine up to my Cactus transmitter, but it works the same way regardless.
The downsides are, you need to take the pictures in very low-light, and it misfires occasionally. That and you usually have to replace the foil after each shot. If you have the know-how, a sound trigger or something would probably work out a lot better.
