Hey /p/ stumbled across some pictures my Dad took from the 70's/80's using some god knows what cheap Zenith SLR. I thought I'd scan them in and show you what I think are some of the more interesting shots. Please note my Dad was at college at the time doing amateur photography so the pictures aren't that great, although I admire the Nostalgia.

Hells yeah, I do. Not my family, but my mom sent me these slides (which she bought off of eBay) to scan. She paints 'em.

Sorry for the shitty scan quality. Since she's not printing them, just using them as painting references, I don't bother with dust removal and such.

My favorite from the box. It's just so surreal.

Give me a couple weeks and I'll do the same thing :) Picking up a budget flatbed scanner to go through some of my parents slides / negatives
They seriously have in the hundreds of thousands of negatives / positives.
Actually heres one I scanned by taking a pic of it

How would you go about scanning slides? My dad has a bunch dating back to the sixties, but the chemicals are starting to turn. Also some have fungus growths on them, which look pretty awesome when put into a projector.

Canoscan 8800f
Can do slides and negatives, and its cheap

Just waiting for it to come in, my friend runs a camera store so I get him to order me stuff close to cost.

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind. Though $200 seems a little steep for a one time use. Going to a service might be cheaper if my dad doesn't need all the slides converted.
