Hey /p/, I've always been using digital cameras, and I'm getting tired of them. Sure they're easy, but I want something more fit for actualy photography. What's an easy, noob camera that's not too advanced? In before photographynewfag. :(

I want something easy that isn't digital.

uh, using something not digital isnt what makes something fit for photography. there are film cameras that are just point and shoot, just like there are digital cameras that are point and shoot. there are also cameras that give you more creative control and they come in both digital and film. try actually reading something about photography or something before asking a question like that.

track down a 1980's era manual focus camera. Minolta, Nikon, Pentax are all great. Canon hadn't quite risen to ascendancy yet, though their cameras are more than adequate.

these cameras are "easy" because they only have three functions for making the photo: Focus, shutter speed, aperture. Each of these three functions are controlled independently of each other, with no nested menus or cryptic Program mode exposure settings (1/13 @ f/6.3?).

The reason I recommend a 1980's camera is because it's widely considered the pinnacle of the manual focus camera. Design, functionality and durability were at all keystones of production. Plus, if you really get lost, most (if not all) of those cameras had at least a shutter priority mode.

If you can't do actual photography with a digital camera, you won't be able to do actual photography with a film camera either.

Exactly. I remember an interview Charlie Rose did with HCB (guess which one came off as a total dipshit) where HCB was like, "using the little finger," as he made a shutter-press motion with his, "that's all."
