read the line about the Sony Zeiss 24-70.

"The lens and its constant-aperture companion, the /Sony Zeiss T* 70-200mm f/2.8 GA/, will give the much-anticipated camera a 24-200mm range with a nonvariable aperture."

Sonoltans, rejoice. an updated Zeiss 70-200/2.8 is coming.

cause you know, a completely optically new lens that's been out for less than a year should be the same price as an ancient hold over from the film days amirite

nikon's is from 2007, canon's is from 2002

yeah, they really are ancient, you might say they are archaic

and your "completely optically new lens that's been out for less than a year" is made by the old KM group, bought by Sony, with a Zeiss name

fucking LOL at "completely optically new lens" really

The KM 24-70G and the Zeiss 24-70 are different lenses. prove me wrong.

The Canon is 6 years old, where as the nikon is only $50 less than the brand new sony.

The Sony is rather overpriced, but at least the much-desired lenses are coming out to fill the gaps. Perhaps the prices will come down once they start selling for a while.
