My gut says go with the SD800IS. IS is win.

Image Stabilization is cool and all, but this isnt for any type of professional use. I'm looking for a camera that's easy to carry around and quick the use.

The turn ons about this camera is that it takes pictures quicker than the SD750 does.

However, the SD750 has a larger LCD screen and is not as thick as this camera is, but takes longer to take pictures.

I'd say IS is *more* important for non-professional type uses and general snapshots. Amateurs are less likely to be skilled at holding their cameras still enough to take a sharp picture in low light, so IS would really help you out there. Also, less likely to have a tripod available.

SD800IS, totally, allows for quick shots on the run.

I personally have both cameras and I would say go with the 800 IS. It's faster, and has a bunch of cool features like color swap and color accent as well.

I'd go w/ the 800is. It is very quick to snap pics and the size is not really all that big(still fits comfortably in your pocket). My friend got the 750is and he regrets it(after seeing mine). Either wa Canon makes nice cameras so~
