Thinking of replacing my 18-135mm with the new 18-105mm VR. Good idea?

The old lens has only had about 500 shots put through it, what do you reckon i could sell it for?

(lights an incense stick) share your wisdom oh mighty /p/

18-135 is a kit lens no? selling it could pose a problem, as everyone who wants one has likely already got one. just my two cents

it is, but im hoping for people who just bought a body. Im going to try to get 100 quid for it (150 dollars).

It costs at least $200 to get it in a kit, so I'd try $200ish before dropping it to $150 if it doesn't sell.

Or should i sell my 18-135 AND 70-200VR to get a 18-200VR?

dpreview says no, but that's exactly what i did and i've had pleasing results ever since. it's a heavy lens with a fair bit of distortion, but it certainly delivers the best compromise in the single lens department. also, VR is extremely handy for handheld.

just my two cents, i know i'll get shredded by the gear elitists for this :P

The 70-200 is quite a bit better (not to mention MUCH faster) in that range than the 18-200. Only get the 18-200 if you have an issue with swapping lenses or carrying around a heavy pro lens.
