I think it would be better from a different angle. The trees fuck up the contrast.
Against a white sky it would probably look more interesting with the hard contrast. As it is now, there isn't much contrast and the statue gets lost in the background.

That example is a picture of the building highlighted against the deep blue sky. Just because there is a statue *in* it doesn't mean the picture is *of* the statue.

There is a subtle but important distinction.
