Tech question: I have an Asahi Pentax Spotmatic SP500 with the Super-Takumar lens.

Recently picked up a Nikon D40 and am looking for some sort of adapter for it because the stock lens really sucks for Macro shooting (my obsession) and I'm already used to the Super-Takumar lens.

I'm not familiar at all with adapters; any pointers?

that lens has a very good reputation.
the 105 nikon macro is what you are after.
i think you are lucky and with the M42 adapter you will still be able to focus to infinity.
google said this one first

That is a very good link you gave, thank you!

In return, one of my favorite photos with the Pentax.

I would love to buy that lens and have looked into it before as well as some other lenses that go into f-stops lower than 2 (the super-takumar goes down to 1.4) which I love to play with as well as being a very sharp lens (when it feels like it :p)

Right now I just can't afford a new lens, or even used for that matter.
