Sigma 30mm f/1.4 noko
I just ordered this lens and wondered what /p/ thinks of it, compared to other lenses of its kind. I have a D40, so I realize this is as good as it gets.

So how good is that?

I also have this lens. I like it. Paid my friend something like 300€ and he brought me one from weabooland (500-600€ in Winland). I'll post sample pictures when I'm not feeling this lazy.

I have this lens (paid $400 for it). I rather like it, but it does have some issues. The corners are really soft, and 1.4 is soft everywhere, thought that is to be expected. at around 2.0, however, it's real sharp, and the CA is kept at a minimum (the fact that I have it at all, is probably from my sensor). It has some distortion problems, but they're not really noticeable outside of a lab setting. The softness, makes it a really nice portrait lens though. I'm glad I got it.

Yeah, I plan on using it to shoot non-staged portraits and just generally pics of people, especially in dim light.

Then you'll be gold. It's heavy though. There is a shit-ton of glass in that fucker. It probably will as much, if not more than, your camera.

50mm of this is coming, I was gonna snag the 30, but now I can't wait for the 50.

It really isn't that soft at 1.4, at least near the center. It is awesome for shooting people in dim light.
