The wires top left are distracting, and I would move her sligty right so that the pillar to the left of her has an anchor point to the ground, that way it does not seem to come out of her.

Yeah, well you know there's nothing worse for my ego than a bunch of young, anonymous kids insulting my photos.

I like both of these, The first shot feels like it needs more contrast though, just a bit. And get rid of the wires.

Last shot is wicked though, has just the right amount of motion blur to give it movement without being a blurry mess.

I tried to avoid using the flash, so got some pretty interesting pictures.

Good, as usual.

>>185852
Not good.

>>185862
Bleh. Too posed, being presented together with the OP takes away from it, too.

>>185877
Not sure if want. I'll have to look at it again later.

A general crit: you're shooting too long, really. You seemed to be a natural master of the 50mm focal length, and shots like

>>185852
>>185877

are better 99% of the time shot even shorter than that, like with a normal or a moderate wide. Old, now-cliched Robert Capa quote: "If your pictures aren't good enough, you're not close enough."

Keep the wires, for two reasons:

1) They're wires. They don't hurt anything. Overproduction is sort of silly.

2) In this case, they kinda-sorta parallel her shoulder and definitely give it more of a sense of realism and non-"this-is-an-abstracted-shot-of-a-girl" feel.

Ya, I'm glad you've said this, I feel like the pictures are coming out pretty shit with the 85 (136mm on the XT), this lens is easy to use, but pretty difficult to master.

Yeah, the 50-on-crop definitely fit your style, even for the street stuff it's too long for for most people.

I'd honestly stick to that for a while and work yourself on composition with it. Some little three-lens kit like a normal of some sort, a 50, and then an 85 (all on a crop) would probably end up suiting your style well. But stick with the 50 for a while.

The picture is just very much like a snapshot.
the background is just so.......messy
you could not even get rid of the trashcan?
bring her closer to you, put more distance from the background to your subject. She needs to fill the frame more. She is lost in the picture.

The model is too dark. The lighting needs some work.
And her pose is boring, and not even flattering her body is directly facing the camera, try adding angle to the body. Hips and legs turned one way, shoulders turned the other way with face turned to look at camera.

And watch your background when placing the model in the scene, you have things coming out of her head.

I hate everything you just said, seriously. Not every shot of a girl is supposed to be a banal, placeless, flattering model shot. And the subject certainly is pretty and fit enough that she doesn't need "flattering," anyway.

Then again, for all I know OP could have meant it as a banal, placeless, flattering model shot. But you pretty much just told him to take out everything good about the picture.

This is a PHOTOGRAPHY board. Not a shitty snapshot board of what could be someones vacation picture.
There is nothing special about that picture at all.
And the lighting *is* terrible. Not correctly exposed.
Any P&S could have taken that pic.
And that's the the 85 f/1.2L USM.
A kit lens could take something just like that.
