Damn you filters! I have too many different filter thread lenses. Its such a pain to take them around, and I rarely use them, but when I need them I never have the right one... (All I really care about is my Hoya R72, Circular polarizer, and my ND400)

My lenses have..
52mm (3 lenses)
55mm (1 lens)
58mm (1 lens)
62mm (2 lenses)
67mm (1 lens)
72mm (1 lens)
77mm (2 lenses)

All I have is 52mm and 67mm lenses, but only step up rings from 52-67 and 55-67, So my 62, 72 and 77mm lenses are out of luck....

This is just me ranting BTW, heres a pic i took last week.

Try not having so many fucking lenses?
>> ac

Seriously. What the hell do you have 11 lenses for?

I've got three lenses with 52mm threads and one 58mm (stupid Canon, stupid kit lens, stupid 58mm threads).

Gear Acquisition Syndrome
It's pretty easy to justify need when you want to.
It's even easier to justify not getting rid of when romance or nostalgia is involved. <3

I suppose I can understand that. I mean, I've got a 50mm f/2.0, 50mm f/1.7, and 50mm f/1.4 for my old Minolta SLR. But I don't actually *use* any of those other than the 1.4.

18-55 kit lens
50mm f1.8
90mm F2.8 Macro

70-300mm f4-5.6

18-200mm f3.5-6.3 (Sigma)

28-75 f2.8 (Tamron)
28-70 F2.8 (Tokina, cost me 25$ cause it's AF was broken, I mostly fixed it)
28-105mm F2.8-4 (Trying to sell this)
10-20mm f4-5.6 (Sigma)

180mm F2.8 (great lens but a bit old, CA is pretty bad on digital)

Really nice pan. Shame the background wasn't more interesting, but great pan nonetheless.

How's that 24 1.8? How much did it run you?

Makes more sense but still seems excessive. I'd ditch the kit lens, the 18-200 (because super zooms are garbage), the 28-70 tokina and the 28-105. Lots of overlap there.
>> Liska !!LIVFOETqL8j
I've got a wide angle lens, a 28-80 nikkor that doubles as a macro, a 70-135, a 20-710 and a 200-500 zoom. All of them have Polarzing filters, but the one for the 200-500 cost me, like, 50-70 bucks :/
>> ac
This thread is now about bragging about your lens collection.

EF-S 18-55 3.5-5.6 II kit lens (for when I really need wideangle or it's sunny and I don't want to continually swap primes)
EF 35mm f/2.0 (for when I need something fast and normal)
EF 50mm f/1.8 II (for when I need something fast and telephotoish. Or when I really need the extra third stop of aperture enough to take a few steps back)
EF 70-200 f/4.5-5.6 II (For when I need serious telephoto)

24mm f1.8 is on its way to me right now, just bought it, cost me $250 (Used). It was either that or the 30mm f1.4, but for the $100+ it saves me I figured I would get the 24mm now and possibly trade up for it later.

The 28-70 and 28-105 i'm probably going to sell, BUT the 18-200 is much more usefull than you would think. When Skiing its a light compact lens, and Minus any distortion the quality of the shots are very good (Very bright so even at like 1/1000th of a second shutter speeds you get F11+)

And for Motocross Its almost all I use (10-20mm aswell), I go right on the track and run around, so I use basically everything from 18mm to 150mm regularily.

I broke My D50 so Right now I only have the D70s, so its even more usefull now.

BTW every picture I've posted has been with the Sigma 18-200mm
Including this one

Pic above of Rider 14, I've printed at 12x18 and it looks great, I'm not too worried about the quality of the lens.

Usually I just hate the build quality and operation of super zooms but if it works for you and saves carrying other lenses around then that's good. All the more reason to ditch other lenses.

Personally, I use a 50mm f/1.4 and 17-35mm f/2.8 for both my XTi and Elan 7. I'm considering getting a Sigma 70-300 for the rare occasion that I need a telephoto but I can't justify it right now.

I've got an MC Rokkor-X PG 50mm f/1.4, too. It's one of the main things making me want to keep on using my old Minolta now that I've got a film EOS to go with my digital EOS.

Not to mention that's just the coolest name for a lens or an underground club DJ evar.

Thats a good combination, But the cost of your 3 lenses (Mostly the 70-200 you have) is unfortunately greater than the 11 lenses I have (I calculated it, I paid $2890 CAD for all of my lenses)

Convenience is a big issue aswell, The 70-200 would be a great sidelines lens for Motocross, But since I'm on the track the 18-200 is perfect (And light)

Also Panning and Zooming is GREAT with an 18-200. (Picture related, Zooming out while taking the pic)
