Long Exposures F64
a 25 minute exposure, problem I have is the film was still vastly underexposed (120 67 negative shot with 90mm lens @ f32) what do you people do for pitch black exposures? I was thinking about popping a strobe (after a couple minutes, to lessen the strength due to reciprocity failure) but then it might get wonky shadows, I dunno what to do

Use a larger aperture than f/32.

Agreed. Bump it up to at the very most f/16, it'll still give you good depth of field, and you can get a good exposure out of it.

why the f/32? unnecessary.

also: "painting" the scene with a flashlight can work too. more guess work/technique involved in that though.

I really like the concept though, I may have to try something similar.

I used f32 because i didn't want the film to expose too quickly. I once did an f16 exposure with an old 8x10 camera, and it took like far less time, and i really wanted to get as much history into the film as possible

also, i went back and shot it at f64 and left it in front of the fire for about 4 hours, which ended a bit better, though at some point the camera moved slightly, so I have ghosting, Ill scan and post it later

You want to take a 25 minute exposure, but f/32 is underexposed?

...

Obvious answer is f/22 or f/16 for 25 minutes.

Also recommend smacking around whoever was carrying around a blue LED. That's really distracting.

was actually the little led on my radio transmitter for the strobe in my hand, i didn't think it would bust so much light

Have any photos of that example? I'd love to see some.
