this thread is now about how newfags use grayscale to make up for the fact that they don't have the skill to use colors to their advantage... in fact, almost all of the pictures I take look worse with grayscale b/c I photograph stuff with lots of detail.

yeah, it's definitely harder to make grayscale look GREAT, but it's not hard at all to make grascale look just OK.

Your composition is boring, bad lighting, and your ISO is apparent in the black. Clean up the guitar before you take a picture. Dust and dirt on the screws and pick-ups. Don't do b&w with an object that is black and white.

More contrast and a tighter composition. The wall above/behind the guitar should be cut totally out. Either recompose or knock down the wall to reveal an awesomer background.

Oh your so right. If he had composed the same shot with at least a 10megapixel dslr it would have been so much better.
