I think you mean your DOF is too shallow. You can't "overuse" bokeh.

Shallow DOF is shallllooooowwwww.

Yeah, I think this is a bit much given the composition. With her over in the corner there, you expect there to be something else in the picture. When the rest of the picture is nothing but out-of-focus background... it actually kinda hurt my eyes a bit. My brain kept trying to focus on the background, despite knowing full well how you made this picture photographically.

Stupid brain.

But yeah. Shrink your aperture or at least put something in to fill the huge blurry area with something else in focus.

I like the dof, but especially in the first two pics you should crop out the background. With no viewable objects there, there is no point in letting it take up 3/4 of the pic.

No, they're perfectly fine as they are. Except they're no longer "portraits of your friend somewhere", but more conceptual, synthetic pieces. Which I personally regard higher than "just" portraits.

And I strongly disagree with>>41072; what often speaks the most is what's not there rather than what is.

Their most (or only) significant downside is that bokeh from your lens is ugly. :P But that's mostly a matter of taste.
