do you think the EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM is worth getting?
I need a telephoto lens.
cannot decide between that or the 70-200 f/4 L

I pay almost double for the L series lens.. but I get them both at half price.

Which one, /p/ ?
(I own a 400D but will upgrade ff soon)

1. Search for "lens reviews."
2. Read them.
3. Look at sample shots.
4. Evaluate the word of the reviewers, the techncial quality, and the look the two different lenses have. The last is a subjective and aesthetic decision, so we can't make it for you.
5. ???
6. Canon PROFITS!!!

you make sense..
however, over the last couple of days i've read countless reviews.
it seems the cheaper lens has a clunky cheap feel when fully extended. but image quality is good.

and i wonder if i should pay double for a less clunky lens that cannot zoom as far .. and has very similar image quality.

so, does /p/ think the image quality between the 2 is great enough to justify the price?

i can't see enough difference between sample shots, maybe i'm missing something here?
