SLOW MO BurtGummer
ello,

I know this is the Photography Board.. but ive been watching videos surrounding the subject of SLOW MOTION FILM.

Does /p/ recommend any equipment for this purpose? I think its going to be expensive whoever I get it from. Probably even more if its digital.

That new Casio Exilim that does 1200 fps.

1200 fps is weak.

10,000 fps is when you see bullets like that.

It does shoot upto 1200 fps, but only with a TiNy picture! Ive found one that shoots upto 16,000 fps in 1280x1024! But theres no price...just a contact number, you know what that means.

This photo of a nuclear explosion, taken in the 1950s, has a shutter speed of nanoseconds, not milliseconds.

yes, but it was basically a camera with wings.

I want something carryable that records to a card. But fast as fuck. Difficult to find noh?

How big thing I'm looking at?

With flash you don't need EXTREME FAST SHUTTER SPEED. Just absolutely dark room and a strobe or two. So one should be able to capture photos like OP's, if flashes are fired at the right time.

Yeah but I think OP definitely wants video.

Oh i dunno, about eight square miles wide?

Yeah im looking for a film/digital camera for high speed events. Not Photographs!

Any gass powered shutter.

You normally only get a few thousand frames too so you better not be recording long events.

you can't afford any of them. for film, try fotosonic, the film is held in place by a vacuum system.
for digital, try the phantom(HD/SD) and there are a lot of other companies that make high speed systems. but yeah, you can't afford any of it.

There are also companies where you can rent such systems.

But I think you were looking for something along these lines:

Slomo P&S cameras, don't know the price though.

Don't forget to get a proper light source. Must be flicker-free and bright enough to hurt your eyes.
