Sup /p/, I just bought a 40D and I need to know something. What are the 3 must have lenses I should buy for this thing? Money is not an issue.

realistic money no issue scenario

ef-s 10-22
ef-s 17-55 2.8 is
ef 70-200 2.8 is

you're all set

if you want to be fancy

throw in a 50/1.4 or 1.2, 85/1.8 or 1.2 and 100 2.8 macro

Using primes isn't "being fancy."

OP, are you willing to manually focus? If so,

Leica Elmarit-R 19/2.8
Leica Elmarit-R 28/2.8
One of the following: Leica Summilux-R 50/1.4, Summicron-R 50/1.4, a Nikkor 50/1.2, a Noct-Nikkor 58/1.2, Leica Macro-Elmarit-R 60/2.8

If you want autofocus, either a huge Sigma 20/1.8 or a Canon 20/2.8, or a Tokina 17/3.5 (only available used), either a Canon 24/1.4L a Sigma 30/1.4, and a Canon 50/1.4, of if you want the speed, 50/1.2L.

My setup for the 40D is:
EF 50mm f1.4
EF 17-40mm f4L
EF 25-105mm f4L IS
EF 70-200mm f4L IS
This setup would probably appeal to any photographer. Assuming you know how to use a camera :)

>>EF 17-40mm f4L
>> EF 25-105mm f4L IS
>> EF 70-200mm f4L IS

fail, fail and more fail

17-55 2.8 IS or 24-70 2.8
70-200 2.8 IS

I'm not saying my setup is the best, and I'm not a professional.
But I like the weight and quality.

Plus it all depends on what you plan to achieve with that equipment. If it makes you're e-penis longer - I'm not the one to judge.
