is googles picasa photo service good? Anonymous
i was thinking of putting up my photos on flicker, and possibly use the premium level since i got a few gigs of photos

but now i see the google picasa is free and allows 4gigs (or something like that)

anyone use it? is it a good choice? i guess flicker has more of a community, but since i dont really know anyone there it doesnt really matter much

flickr is more "community orientated" in my opinion.

i guess google picasa is better in that its more convenient, and easier to manage all your photos. also, i love the picasa software.

I love picassa too, i do all my work with it (because its so fucking fast to work with and i dont do much pp)

The online storage is quite sparse compared to flickr with no linking or anything, but as a dump for photos its pretty decent.

The best thing about flickr is making friends and getting random comments from randoms, you wont get that on google but then you may not want it.

I like Picasa, however, it does take up a bit of resources (more than I'd like). Overall, it's a fairly quick and easy way to browse through your images and edit them as well. One thing I particularly like about it is that you can link it to online printers like Kodak/Wolf/etc and directly send your images there for prints.

Flickr is more like an image blog if anything and is better to show off your work, but not inventory or edit.
