Wherever you are: home, work, walking around, driving, focus on one element of taking a picture and work out in your mind what would work best for whatever you're looking at. Just one element. For example:
- Aperture and appropriate DoF - Shutter speed - Point of focus - Framing - Things that would screw up the light meter
Now just think of ONE of these things and apply them to what you see each day. Then, the next day, pick something new.
By isolating each element and focusing ONLY on how to improve that, you'll take much better pictures and train yourself to go sequentially through each step every time you go to take a picture for real with a camera.
Neat idea at least...
