Hi /p/!

I'm going to a concert in two weeks or so and I'm bringing my d70. This is the first time I'll be taking pics at a gig, do you have any tips or is there anything you think I should be aware of?

I'll probably be using my 50mm f/1.8, also, it will probably be very dark in there, so I'm not expecting to get any good pics.

Pic unrelated.

Where are you going to be, how are you going to be doing it? Are you there officially or just for your own fun?

don't know really. It's a small show and I'll go there to listen to the music and watch the two bands mainly. I'm just doing it for fun.

Where are you taking the pictures from? Distance and size of stage, conditions and so on are relevant and help your planning.

The stage is small, and I guess I'll be about 20-30 meters away or something. It will be quite dark, but one of the bands normally has a projector displaying pics/movies, which is pointed at the band and thereby making them a bit brighter.
Both bands play quite calm music, post-rock/ambient or something like that, so they won't be jumping around and the audience will be quite still too.

Thanks for helping me out, guys.
