Subject is a bit too centered. You've got lots of sky above, lots of grass below, and only about a third of the frame in the middle taken up by your subject. Maybe try a landscape orientation and get a bit closer to get more of the frame filled with corgis and scruffy guy?
Not that your subject needs to fill the frame every time, but there's something just really boring about this composition and that's the only obvious suggestion I can come up with.
Also might want to try angles other than straight-on front. Get the dogs and the person in different planes to give the shot a more three-dimensional feel.
