tomorrow. gotta shoot a wedding today. i need to start telling people the truth, that i'm a lousy wedding photographer, so they'll stop asking me to do it.

Do what I do. Demand a huge amount of money and the option of shooting it entirely with a cell phone.

How about he stop offering to shoot weddings in the first place so that he can be a starving "art photographer"?

How about I shoot the wedding? I'll shoot the hell out of it!
>> Anonymous
>>286486

There are some couples desperate enough that they'll probably accept that. I've heard of some crazy stories about couples hunting for photographers.

Just don't do them.. say no?

Last wedding i did put the nail in the coffin as far as am concerned, the family were pricks,

downright rude and offensive, when i explained that no one could use flash photography while i was taking group shots, and it was setting of my slaves, and if they continued to do so we would run out of time and they would lose out on shots, i was told "you cant do that! its our wedding! we will do what we want!"

Simply said "ok, am very sorry to have inconvenienced you, i hope they get some good photos", packed up my shit and left.

>How about he stop offering to shoot weddings in the first place so that he can be a starving "art photographer"?

No longer a valid argument, thanks to the influx of spoilt kids (weather it be wannabi models or shitty teenagers bands), you can make the same, if not more money, doing studio shots.

You walked out in the middle of a job? LOL!

Should have expected that and got a decent wireless set up or used wires laid carefully. Optical slaves for an event like that is always a bad idea.

Come back with scans, I realy want to see how good it is.

Over saturated shit.

>You walked out in the middle of a job? LOL!

They were been assholes the whole day, they deserve nothing elts, I'd decided at the time it was the last one i was ever doing, so reputation wasnt something i had to worry about,

Plus i get to keep the deposit ^_^

>Should have expected that and got a decent wireless set up or used wires laid carefully. Optical slaves for an event like that is always a bad idea.

Yes, but these would have spent more money for the wireless, and careful placement of wires is not something i want to do when the wonderful wedding planners give you a stupidly short amount of time for what they expect form you.

How hard is it to not take the group photos?? that's why they hire me, if they want to be cheap and have low quality group shots and not have to pay me, they can wait :P

Ouch. You've some balls to pull that move. I bet they will be fuming and never forgive you for that one! I hope that doesn't come back to haunt you eventually. I can admire your style. You can get away with it and relish the moment seeing as you don't need to deal with all that again.

Sounds like a bad job and problem customers that day right enough. The family can often be a pest at those times even with the couple are as good as gold. At least if the couple are nice then you can suggest to them and they can speak with authority to give you some time with them without interruptions. If you can't get the couple or the mother in law on your side then you are fucked.

The good news: The box and logo looks pretty cool I guess
The bad news: I really doubt it'll look any different scanned at web sizes. How often do you make huge prints from 35mm anyways? I'll just keep using drugstore film until I have a reason to print bigger than a couple feet.

I'm looking forward to seeing scans. Everything I've seen so far looks impressive as hell.

plz make in 120 kodak plz

yeah, i shoot a lot of superia myself. i still want to see what comes back, though. a new film is an exciting thing these days.

Do they offer it in larger formats?

ahahahahahahahahahahaha now your name is mud because you cant spend a few hundred on proper slaves.

thanks, i hope you used to work near me.
>> fence !!POey2hdozCZ
right now it's only in 35mm size. maybe if it gets supported, kodak will supplicate.
>> Honest So You Dont Have To Be !9UISPtwBPo
Bump to keep this on the front page, i want results!

>ahahahahahahahahahahaha now your name is mud because you cant spend a few hundred on proper slaves.

1, Never going to shoot weddings again, why would i care about my reputation?

2, Most people (depending on the area), can make a WHOLE lot more money doing studio work

i really fucking want to see more of this film ,from what ive seen of it so far it looks like velvia but somehow in color negative
>> ac !!VPzQAxYPAMA
I just ordered a couple of rolls from Adorama (my local camera store being made of FAIL and LET'S NOT HAVE ANYTHING AC WANTS TO BUY EVER). Looking forward to getting 'em.

it's probably not the camera store's fault. kodak has a horrible history of poor distributor support. the manager at one camera shop didn't even know about ektar. literally, it sent him into white hot rage about kodak, though i expect most camera store owners have a lot to rage about these days.

To be fair, they haven't had the thing I was looking for like the last 8 times I've been in there, including:
1. A 58MM lens cap (they had damn near every other size I've ever encountered, but no 58mm)
2. Binders to hold my negatives and prints (which they used to carry but apparently no longer do)
3. Liquid developer (which, again, they used to carry, but have stopped)
4. Developing for E6 slide film (which they used to do)
5. Polaroid 600 film (again, they used to carry it)

(Some of those I went in looking for more than once in case they were just out of it that day, They weren't. Bastards)

I was actually surprised that my local henry's had some portra 800 in stock, and lots of it.

So i bought a few rolls.

Everything else I can kind of understand, though film shit is obviously more of a specialty item in the digital age, but it's hard to criticize them for not having discontinued Polaroid film.

Then show me a sample of a landscape with clear sky and dear you tell me it's not oversaturated. It's closer to Velvia then anything else.

>Then show me a sample of a landscape with clear sky and dear you tell me it's not oversaturated. It's closer to Velvia then anything else.
I'm guessing he was debating the "shit" part rather than the "oversaturated" part, given that the whole point of this emulsion is that it's highly saturated.
