I currently have a Canon Powershot S2 IS. I also have an older Kodak compact that is pretty rubbish on anything but well lit shots. Plus it's only 3 meg.Anyhow I like the Canon because of it's zoom, ease of use and quality. However I am looking for something more compact to take around with me. The thing is though I don't want to sacrifice too much zoom. I hate being someplace and not able to get close enough to the action. Are there any decent compacts with a good optical zoom? Quality and price also important. Features are not so important. I'd take quality over features (Except maybe good low light response perhaps).EXIF data available. >>47168Quick research says that you should look at Canon PowerShot TX1. 390 mm, 89 x 60 x 29 mm.
Seems more a video camera than stills camera. Looking for something a bit more snapshot like.
There's a thread the next page down on the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3; it sound as if it might suit your needs.

>>47208One of my favorite quotes I've heard on /p/: "The best zoom lens is a fast prime and a pair of good legs."
>>47209Except if it's a lion...no wait...fast legs would be good. RUN!
