So I want this lens, but I'm afraid of the back/front focusing issues. What do you think /p/?

Get the EF 35mm f/1.4L instead.

Way different field of view on a crop.

If you don't need it urgently, play the Sigma Return Shuffle until you get a good copy.

I currently have the 50 1.8, but I find it a tad tight for most things. The 50 on a crop is an excellent portrait lens, but for other things, it's too close.

I'd honestly rather not have to send my lens in for a couple weeks to have it re-calibrated, but I guess that depends on how much I really want it, lol.

I was talking to the guy above- a 30mm and 35mm are very different lenses on a crop. One is like a 48mm and one is like a 56mm.

And they're both very different from a 50, which is like an 80mm.

It's the only real very fast option in the normal range that isn't very expensive. If you need the speed or want this particular lens, then hope you luck out.
