Greetings /p/hotographers, for a long while i've been interested in photography, mostly because my father used to. Anyway, i found his camera Nikon FE2 with two lenses, one was broken and i'm left only with the 28mm Wide angle. Now, here is a question, do lenses for this camera still get sold? If not, could i pull through with just a single lens like this? I've actually wanted to restore this camera back to it's former glory, so if there are any other things you think i should have aside from more lenses, do tell.

Yeah, there's all sorts of lenses available for that camera available. Stay away from Nikon lenses with the "G" or "DX" designation, and "Pre-AI" lenses and you're golden.

PRE-AI are older but still high quality! the 35 f1.8, timeless quality

Do they work on the FE2, though? My research was pretty half-assed...

the only diffrence is metering so why not?

because you'll destroy the AI coupling ring.
Only use AI or AI'd lenses on the FE, you can't flip up the notch on the FE2
Bridge cameras safe to use preAI lenses on are the FE, FA, F2/F3/F4

There's great AI lenses for cheaps. Don't forget to check out Tamron Adaptall lenses and the original run of Vivitar Series One.

Pardon, I meant FM, not FA.

Vivitar? Really? Tell me more. I always assumed that Vivitar was shit as a general rule.
