hey /p/,
i'm currently using a 350d with a couple of lenses. so now i wanna progress a little and think about getting the 20d or 30d. at the same time wanna keep the 350d as backup body for longer shoots / 2nd lens ready to go.

is the 20d still good or even better than the 350? in what points?
or should i forget the 20d and go straight for the 30???

20d has a slightly bigger viewfinder, better grip and spot metering... The rest is the same.

20D does not have spot metering. The 30D does.

Here's a good link for the OP. The cameras aren't incredibly different.

tl;dr
350D + 1/8000 shutter speed + 0.3MP + larger body = 20D
20D + spot metering = 30D

Two dials are much better than one dial. Also, joystick for selscting focus points. Can't live without it anymore. <3

OP here

most important point is the grip. i don't really have big hands, but i can't handle the 350d for a long reriod of time. the top display is a feature i always loved on my nikons. that might also be an argument.

everything else does not sound like an upgrade to me, as i would have to spent quite a lot more to get spot metering ...

thanks guise
