is there any way to salvage this photo or make it remotely good? i deliberately overexposed it to make it very bright and happy. the motion blur and bad framing wasn't deliberate tho.

Would have been a better idea to expose properly at the time and do any effects in Photoshop. That way you can decide how much you want or if you want to keep it or reverse the change.

This way you are stuck with it. Nothing will bring back the blown out areas.

Use the histogram! The LCD on any camera will lie to you and always make a shot look better than it is.

Once you get used to the histogram, you'll be able to tell in a fraction of a second if you exposed the shot properly.
