This was shot in Raw, but I had the camera set to display B/W (In the parameters, I selected BW, and not a colored one.) Today was rainy, and I prefer to shoot my monotone on such days.

wow, was today tripfag recruit day or what?

Yeah, because he *specifically addressed* the issue in his post, saying he likes the look and likes to imagine he's got Tri-X in the thing.

Although, if I were him, I'd shoot raw whenever the wait time isn't prohibitive, and then make it look just like either the camera files or the aforementioned imaginary Tri-X. Never hurts to have options.

Don't find it that interesting, I don't even care to know what I'm looking at. Background is distracting, too.

Fl0w, the photo itself I actually kind of like.. while it's a little uninteresting at first, I can appreciate the abstract shapes and tones.
It's.. nice, but not great.

QFT. Raw zealot (nice phrase) though I am, too, I'd probably shoot JPEG, because I do the same sort of people photography, even though I'm in no capacity a professional photojournalist.

It's just ridiculous that a camera aimed straight on at serious photographers virtually doesn't support raw, though. It's like a Leica that takes Polaroid film almost.

Eh, limitations of the hardware and form factor I guess. The GR-D 2 is worlds better though, the RAW write time is like 2 seconds, and it's got a buffer, so you can immediately take another before that's even up.

which is why you use your slr instead of your sorry ass excuse for a rangefinder

Uncalled for. We shoot with what we shoot with. We all want something better, so if you want to hate on someone for their choice of equipment I believe you can suck a fat one.

gtfo

it doesn't matter what camera anyone shoots with, or how they shoot.
the only thing that anybody should critique is the actual image. if it suffers from quality loss due to shithouse camera, then it is justified to criticize them.

Which is why (along with his talent) Heavyweather will pull nice, candid, close-up photographs and you'll have some thug smash your SLR on the ground when he hears your mirror a foot behind him.

What a bunch of fucking faggots you are.

>> If I'm trying to get the "decisive moment" of some situation, I need every bit of help from the camera I can get. The kind of work I like to do, timing is always the more important factor.

In after shitstorm.

Kinda like it. My brain keeps sort of alternating between "I don't like all of the blurry blank space on the right" and "The blurry blank space on the right is a nice balance to the stuff on the left", but I think I'm leaning more towards the latter.

So what was the bet?

truth

also this thread is whats wrong with /p/.

trip fags looking for attention, name faggotry etc.

the whole point of an image board is anonymous posting. if your going to use names you may as well get some signatures and avatars and go get an account on invisionfree or some shit.

Then why have a name field with trip code capabilities...?

Hmm, I'll have to think about that and get back to you.

That's because Heavyweather knows what he's doing. I.e., he knows full well that he's losing data and the opportunity to get a better B&W by shooting directly in B&W mode. But hey, if he's aware of that and still wants to do it, his call.

For the record, I still think it's fail for him to do that. But he thinks a lot of the things I do are instafail as well.

Still want to know what this thread's bet was about...
