I like them all really. But then agan that may just be because of the hot wimmenz

>>148066

Apart from this one. The model looks out of place, dosn't look natural. I understand what the picture was trying to achieve, it just kinda, misses out slightly.

My favourites. I really like the light in the first. Looks awesome with the overexposed background.

Cheers dude, I literally saw the light at the end of the tunnel and thought...awesome

exposure is off. in some frames the highlights are blown, while the others are underexposed.
>> Anonymous
>>148083
Has never heard of stylized lighting.

The first one is great really like the black strip over the eyes.

>>148081
nice concept but seems lighting was really off? what time of day was this?
>> Anonymous
>>148081
That one's neat too.

Did you use strobes or is it all natural light?

yeah it was early arvo, we had alot to shoot in a day otherwise i would have choosen a better time for lighitng

>>148086
ONe single strobe and a reflector, outdoors it was all reflector with the under cover shoots a strobe was used.

>>148097

Cheers AC ;)

Win Win Win.

This all in one day? lol your model changed a lot of clothes! also she looks pretty natural, I like!

Youve set the bar too high man... too high...
>> Jeremo !iKGMr61IHM
>>148129

Cheers Vincent :D Yeah it was all in one day... which i wasn't happy about. Obviously due to lighting, but it was a few friends who just wanted to have a bit of fun and i stopped taking myself that seriously.

It was from about 11:30 till 6 i think we did... with 6 changes.

The Model is a good friend who's done A LOT of professional work like fashion week and the like, so i was blessed with familiarity and professionalism. She gave me exactly what i asked for and needed.

And funnily enough you inspired me with the thread about you and your friends, when i got asked i jumped at the chance :D
>> Vincent !!8LCSE0Zp1mL
>>148131
Now at least I know i should take along my reflector! The outdoor shots work well with it!
I won't have a third set of hands to hold it, so it might not be as usefull

But still, its going to be tough to match these!
Good job!
>> Jeremo !iKGMr61IHM
>>148134

try a tripod... though having extra help really does make the difference.

Reflectors are useful for firing strobes into when you forget your umbrella and stand... :D

>>148084Has never heard of stylized lighting.

"stylized lighting" is just another word for i don't know what the fuck i'm doing so i'll say it was intentional

>>148062
>>148067
I like these the most out of the set. However, the light is a bit too intense in the back. I just don't like how her right elbow almost fades away. I'm also not too sure what she has over her eyes, but I'm sure that an opaque band covering her eyes completely would be more suitable, a la Geordi la Forge from Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Overall, lighting was done well to bring out the skintones but I don't like the dark clothes on dark background, like>>148071. Maybe you could have her at the top step with hands on her head, feet a little further than shoulder length apart, and looking at the top right corner? Just a suggestion. Anyway, good work.

these ones

really stand out to me as "holy shit this is cool" .. the others are a little less funky.
but i don't like
>>148063
^i can see what you were going for.. but the overall flatness, awkward position of the model and image quality (blur also) really kills it

to end on a good note though, i love the shoot overall.
how many shots did you take all up? (curious about your ratio)
>> heavyweather !4AIf7oXcbA
Many of these are phenomenal and would look great in any fashion magazine, and the rest are simply really good. I really like what you're doing here, man. This is solid, solid work for your first photoshoot. You keep this level of work and thought, you'll go far. Well fucking done.

This one is great, but the background feels brighter than the subject. I think you should have used a CPL or maybe just darkened the right side of the image, but overexposed do you had the left side to work with.

>>148067
This shot is fantastic, less the shadow ... but still great lighting.

The rest are pretty good ... you were adventurous with your shots and it turned out well.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this one.

They're all decent but I believe this is the only one that stands out the best.
>> Anonymous
These are awful, awful scences.

Costumes are shit, and location...well....

I'm glad its your first, but there is no real substance. I can go take these downtown.
>> Jeremo !iKGMr61IHM
>>148168

The band is added in post process, like those texta lines that's meant to hide someone's identity. Know what i mean? Her identity was meant to be hidden for that shot :D

You're absolutely right about the dark clothing with dark background, due to the fact that i only had one strobe with me, i couldn't fill flash and get back round at the same time, which made it hard to get the dark clothing to work. The First pic with her against the overexposed entracne was the closet i could get to what i wanted.

Thanks alot for the suggestion, i'll give them a go next time :)

>>148344

Well the blur was meant to be there, it's her running away from the camera so it was meant to convey movement. It was me pressing the shutter and moving slight forward with her running in the other direction... i'll post another one and tell me if it better :)

>>148355

Cheers Heavy Daaawwwg :D :D :D We're scheduled to do more YAAAY fun times.

>>148367

I had a CPL on hahaha, it didn't do shit. I needed at least a 4 stop ND filter. The sky i the original looks fine, in the processing it got blown out. The problem was the lighting though, the sun was waaay too bright. It was at 3pm.

The face shot, i didn't see the shadow till i got home which is annoying, next time i'm gonna shoot tethered, so both the model and I know what's going on.

Thanks again for the kind words and criticisms everyone :)

hehe i wish :D

A friend of mine is doing a fashion management course and she needed help with a project. The model is her best friend and one of my good mates so we just got together to help her out.

The model's agency were interested in some of the shots... but they tend to be protective with photographers so i doubt i'll get a gig or anything :D

We are hoping to submit stuff to magazines with our later shoots, but this wasn't commissioned or anything, just an opprtunity to have a bit of fun :D

Definitely keep going with it, if this is your first shoot, it shows plenty of potential. I don't think they're perfect by any means but I can see you experimenting and that is always a good thing.

>>148640

Can't remember honestly, i would have been just darting around like an epileptic boxer trying to see what angles i liked.

I would have just been trying not to distort the perspective so much so she didn't look like she had like weird legs or torso
>> Christopher !LQd6JHwoaQ

Damn this picture....

Reminds me of a girl I like so hard.

Keep going back to it. Gonna save it.
>> Liska !!LIVFOETqL8j
>>148665

Ok. One of the best pieces of advice a couple of pro photographers gave me was that to always be lower than the model- either sitting or on your knees- as you're shooting. It's amazing (to me, at least) the difference and i'd always recommend it
>> Jeremo !iKGMr61IHM
>>148678

yeah, i was definitley lower than her in all the shots. I'm acutely aware of that, having done it for my landscapes, i pretty much always shoot either below 4 feet or above 7 feet :D (it's a rule of thumb i learnt from Thom Hogan)

At the same time, i didn't want to be too low to the point where i was distorting the perspective too much. :)
