also look at the pentax k1000, I like em.

before you bid on ebay, ask the seller about the camera. you need to know whether the light meter still works accurately, if the camera leaks light, and that all the mechanical parts work properly. I'd also recomend only buying from sellers who will let you return faulty merchandise in a timely manner

XG series FTW. I used an XG-1 for a good few years until moving to digital, and it did a great job. Light metering is all electronic, so you don't have to worry about old selenium meters giving bad readings. MD lenses are cheap as heck on eBay, picked myself up a Tokina 120-400 lens for some $20. The older models are pretty damn sturdy too -- dropped mine a good many times before it kicked the bucket. Not bad for a $10 buy from Salvation Army.
