Looking for a camera bag.
Needs to hold DSLR, 2 lenses, maybe flash & some accessories.
Thinking about a Domke but not sure.
Maybe just an padded insert in an non-camera bag.

All my friends have Crumplers but they seem like real fagbags.

What does /p/ suggest?

I use a Minolta Maxxum 16x8x8" bag. Holds up to 8 lenses, a DSLR, filters, a cleaning kit, and a bunch of other shit. Square bag, nothing protruding like the lowepro, which is great when transporting not-by-hand.

I have a Lowepro Flipside 300. It has enough room for a DSLR, 2+ lenses (can also fit a 80-200mm f/2.8), flash, etc. The thing I like about the Flipside is that it opens from the back instead of the front, so it gives you that added sense of security when walking in a crowd.

i've got the lowepro slingshot 200
it fits my d50, 70-300, 17-70, 50, lensbaby, two flashes, and a couple little accessories.
with that in mind, its stuffed to the rafters.
I will be upgrading to a tamrac expedition series soon.
also the over the shoulder design really pulls and becomes uncomfortable with heavy loads after long periods of time.
when i'm working for the paper i use a tenba shoulder bag with my d50, a d1h, either an 80-200 or 70-300VR, and my 17-70 with some other accessories.

tldr; backpacks = comfort, shoulder bags = accessible, hybrids = awkward

I recommend a Tamrac Pro 8 or something similar. I've been beating the shit out of mine daily for over eight years and it's only beginning to show any signs of wear. Best fucking camera bags out there.

The best bag I used was an Eagle Creek carry on. Shoulder bag, decent padding, strap went all the way across my shoulders for more stability, and cause the top opened with a zipper I could get into it easily. Sorta like the guy in the slingshot picture is doing, actually. Meant I could change lenses inside the bag without setting anything down, which was great when it was wet out. And my gear only fit in half of it so the other half was my daypack. Suggestion: finding a non-camera bag and getting padded inserts might well be the way to go. Check duffel-style carry ons.

I think the reason to pick a crumpler fagbag might be that they dont quite look like camera bags, just fagbags. Might make them a bit less attractive to would be thieves.

Yeah, they look a little less like camera bags than everything else. They have plenty of space for the camera, lenses, flashes, but the lack in the small compartments area. All my shit is thrown in flap zipper of my 7mdh and it rattles a little. =/ Other than that though they are good bags.

If you wanna talk fagbags, look at this:

A (female) friend of mine wants to get one. It just looks like a really shitty camera bag that looks like a purse to me.

Newegg has 1-year financing. Or virtually any credit card has an option of 12-15 months no interest. I think Circuit City has 1 year on digital cameras right now - but fuck those guys.

hahahaha, shootsac. what a great name.
I've got a couple of those lowepro camera bags they include in accessory kits. ex 180 or something. I've also got a tamrac cyberpro for when I need to bring my laptop with me. It's really terrible, though. unless you have more camera equipment than is comfortable to carry with the bag or a really light laptop, the thing is pretty much going to sit sideways.

don't want to start a new thread

anyone has the Crumpler X million dollar home? where X is a number

it only closes with one of those snaplock thing, that's it? doesn't the simple flap offer very little protection from dust and light rain or anything

there's no zipper at al, what the hell

That Shootsac thing looks pretty useless, unless your goal is to look like a pretentious faggot.

I think it's more if you want to look like a woman with a purse rather than a photographer.

Well, mission accomplished, then.
