Sage HDR all you want, but this is the first time I actually like an HDR picture, thatone's really cool

It's edited through photoshop by blending two or three pictures together (or a RAW format picture) to include the "best" parts of each exposure.

In during Germans.

Oooh. I wanna see a photography version of angry german kid, one where some angry german kid completely smashes his camera because he has to wait for the picture to show up on the screen.

Where is that? Lovely place!
>> Anonymous
ah, high dynamic range...i heard it already few months ago....is such method standard nowadays?
>> Anonymous
>>202537
Not at all, and it's often used tastelessly
>> WetShirt !n21TE7QU8U
>>202537
God no. Please.
If the photography standard became HDR FTW the world would collapse. Kind of deviding by zero but with extreme halos and microcontrast everywhere.

yea just found out that it's in belguim.

so, what can i improve in my examplepic?

Something called Tonemapping.
Google is your friend.

Better light conditions could be one, though those clouds are actually a little interesting.

You're wrong, his photos arent that good.

Why not Depressed cheesy cock?
>> Anonymous
you could always try HDR (High Dynamic Range)
>> Anonymous
>>202913
yea, but i need more than 1 pic from the same situation amiright?

Before any of you say this is good. Just look at the sky. Who ever took this blew out the sky then tryed to darken it, it looks like fucking shit.
>> Anonymous
OP pic looks like half-life 2

and half-life 2 buildings look like crap b/c of OMFGHDR
>> sage
easiest way to get this photo, shit in a bag and eat it.
>> Anonymous
Agreed that the sky does look pretty funky, and yes you need at least two pictures, possibly more.
>> Anonymous
At first I was like, "Oh wow, this is pretty good HDR or post-processing." And then I saw the shitty way he unevenly screwed with the sky... and then I saw the sky's reflection in the water... A real shame, this photo could've been some win. The original's probably better.
>> Anonymous
how can the second photo be improved?

There is nothing wrong with HDR photography, there are just too many idiots happy with not improving their skill and understanding.
>> Anonymous
>>204292
That's well-used HDR.
>> DAMN IT FEELS GOOD TO BE A HIPSTER !!/fke24SCLqD
>>204292

I had that same truck as a kid. You've just brought back so many memories, in addition to some nice HDR.
>> Anonymous
GREAT example of how HDR can be used well.

Just because most people overshoop things doesn't mean it isn't a useful tool.
>> Anonymous
>>204292
What the fuck is wrong with you people?
HDR was not needed here.
The middle exposure covers the full dynamic range of the 'HDR.'
>> Anonymous
>>204310
Pro tip: HDR really isnt ever actually needed.
>> Anonymous
>>204312
Then neither is a graduated ND filter.
Now fuck off.
>> Scolio
Thanks,

I use HDR a lot because it really can (sometimes) bring out the best in a picture if it was shot perfectly. I usually use Pseudo HDR where I take one RAW file and change the exposures on it then recombine it. I have it down where it only adds five minutes to my post processing routine.

The problem is that if you didn't pick good exposures then you are most likely going to end up with splotchy crap like the first picture or tons of grain and artifacts.
>> Anonymous
>>204310
the differently lit areas of the picture lose a lot of detail in the middle image. The other images have a lot more detail in the dark and bright areas of the picture. The HDR picture merged the detail in all three pictures into one. HDR was used to gather more -detail-, not range.
>> Scolio
>>204310
it covers the range of color but it does not does not even come close the the quality and sharpness of the final shot.

>>204312
technically photography is not "needed" either. Nor is post processing. I am glad to know that photographic technology had peaked years ago and that new techniques that make photos look closer to how the human eye would see a scene are unnecessary.

>>204326
I was just snapping in #12. HDR is also of great use in 3D image rendering.
