adobe photoshop cs4

i'm installing it. takes ages for the setup to load.
says that i have to close firefox now. so, /p/ is it normal that the setup takes ages? thought id ask here instead of /g/ because you guys know the setup probably better.

Is it just photoshop or the whole creative suite? The whole CS3 was like 8GB.

hmm kinda found the problem.
it's not photoshop, its fucking windows xp x64.
after a reboot the setup loaded normally.
got to find a windows xp cd i guess.
thanks for the reply though :/

and worth it..

Problem : you are using CS4 on windows XP

Solution : upgrade your OS to something within the last 2-3 years.

*x64

i didnt need vista so i thought i'd just take x64, which is rather windows server 2003 than windows xp.
whats wrong with using an older os beside the os needing less performance?

Nothing, XP64 is one of the fastest OS MS have made. Have you got the latest 2k3 service packs?

the latest "windows xp x64" service packs, yeah.
it was sp2 already (which is the latest, sp3 is for windows xp only!) and i did an automatic update a few days ago.
I dunno why but the computer lags sometimes and it makes me restart the system to have a normal speed again.

good example is firefox:
normally is needs maybe 3 seconds to start the first time after a bootup of windows and after that like 1 second.
when the computer lags, loading firefox takes ages. when opening new blank tabs, i can see how it builds up the new tab.
strange thing. it's not only firefox btw.

didnt really help. firefox is slow right now ;_;

it's like this happens everytime when the computer has to "work" a bit.
