Crop.

Can you all offer cropping suggestions for the original photos or critique the way I cropped the photos?

Today, I saw very boring pictures...
>> Anonymous
The A380 is one of the ugliest aircraft ever built.
>> Butterfly !xlgRMYva6s
I live near one of the major Airbus factories in the north of england. Ive flown next to the baluga and A380 in a tomahawk.

YOUR PHOTOS ARE BORING. The cropping is almost pointless the lighting is rubbish and the subject is un-interesting.

I like this one.

ITT: amerikkka fags reject the raw appearance in /p/ of a photo with an interesting subject because they're jealous of the A380

photograph the wake vortices as it climbs through that overcast

good use of a 30D...

seriously..

Gee, I can't help it that the lighting sucked, I was confined to a small place on the airfield, and that I didn't have a crappy P&S to use when the A380 decided to take off. If you'd like, you can buy a P&S camera or a holga or something and donate it to me--I'll snap a picture with it just to please you. Otherwise, I'll use the equipment that I have.

>>83388The cropping is almost pointless
Any suggestions for improving it? That's what I was asking for in the first place.
> the lighting is rubbish
I can't help that at all. Seeing the A380 is something that doesn't happen often, and it just had to be on an overcast day
> and the subject is un-interesting.
I think it's a pretty fucking awesome airplane.

One of the keys to becoming a good photographer is knowing when *not* to share your photographs. E.g., if it's crap.

Sure, you can't control whether or not the sky's gonna give you good lighting. But you know what you could have controlled? Whether or not you posted that poorly-lit photo to a photographic criticism board.

These photos are pretty much crap. They might be interesting on a board dedicated to planes, but this is a board dedicated to photography qua photography. Doesn't matter how cool the plane is if the photo of it sucks ass.

Take this picture I'm posting, for instance: It's poorly lit, it's blurry, it's really not a terribly interesting subject. What's the best way to crop it? To crop it to 0x0 pixels. Throw it away, 'cause it's not worth saving.

There's no way you could've cropped your shots to make them not boring.

Same person. GTFO my /p/

Anyway, the problem with this pic is mainly that nothing interesting is happening. Nothing at all. It's a plane. It's standing there. Now, if it was taken against the sunset, or the background was blurred with motion, at least it would have been a little more beautiful/interesting. Cropping alone can't do that. Also, fun angles requiring you to get close to the plane would have been awesome. Plus for strong colours (not shopped)

Try again.
