Lensbabies: has anybody tried one? Do you like it? Considering buying one but don't know if it's worth it.

they produce a very, very specific look. search flickr for examples, then decide if you want your photos to look like that too.

and by "like that", i mean, painfully obviously taken with a lensbaby. so obvious, that it usually detracts from the photo.

No need for the lens. Looks like a cheap Photoshop filter anyways, so just use Photoshop in the first place.

I visit /p/ to learn. I'm not a very good photographer, my camera is alright and I'm getting into it more and more. I am a graphic designer by trade, and the first thing I thought was, this could easily be pulled off using Photoshop and 4 minutes. Honestly, I really don't find the effect all that interesting and you could simply save yourself money, pulling this off perfectly is PS. There would be no way to tell, except for the receipt for one of these things.
