The composition of the first one is far from great. It would have been better to place the guy beside the house, making it fully visible. The guy is sharp, but the house is blurry. You should have bigger focal length. The sky looks alright, but both the house and the guy are slightly dark. A HDR would fix that, but here comes the biggest issue: would you WANT that? What makes this pic worth editing at all?

The second pic is nice, good background, and cats are always cute, but it's blurry. Looks like you focused on the ear. Always focus on the eyes of living creatures.

>>The guy is sharp, but the house is blurry. You should have bigger focal length.
My intention was to make him sharp and everything else blurry.

>>The sky looks alright, but both the house and the guy are slightly dark
Thats because the original picture turned out a bit to light, so i adjusted the curves

>>Looks like you focused on the ear. Always focus on the eyes of living creatures.
Yeah, I was going for the eyes, but the cat just wouldt hold still

if blurriness was the intention, then you should've made it MORE blurry, and done some cutting.

No amount of adjustment will make the light look normal because of the strong light coming from the sky.

Better luck next time

i don't like it. depth of field is way to shallow. the content is boring. subject shouldn't be right in the middle of the picture either. try again, please.

Why do people do this? They're obviously screwing around with their friends, post something that could be remotely considered a proper photo, and then come here asking for praise. This is a photo of the back of someone's head, and a bar, in low light.

What the hell do you want people to tell you?

"You got talent, kid. I'm gonna make you a star!"

Jesus christ, take a real photo and then resubmit. Sheesh.

How to get better?
You know, not everyones born with a camera up their ass and takes great photos per default, I m trying to take good pictures, and if I think some photo turned out OK i want people with more experience than me to look at it and say whats good/bad about it.
I was looking for criticism, so I could improve.

unfortunately /p/ is not a good help board. i took some photos recently that i thought were REALLY good for a noob and i got torn apart here. no one suggested anything to improve, either. now i mostly just lurk.

It's all about how you present yourself on here. If you posted something like, "wow guys check out some of my cool pics I took with my (insert more than likely dslr) lols but I'm a noob so be gentle." I'm certain a warm welcome isn't happening.

The pictures composition is boring, but i like the colors.
