/p/ I need some advice.

I got my hands on a film slr on the cheap, and have finally gotten around to trying to learn my way around it. I've shot 4 rolls so far (2 800, 1 400, 1 400 b&w) but have only developed one of the 800. I've shot all the film I have, and when I drop the other rolls off tomorrow I'd like to buy some more.

What's a good speed film to get a pack of to use while I get used to my camera? Pic related.

I've always been partial to 800TX but it does depend on what you are shooting.

400 Tri-X is purdy nice, if you want sharper images and arent shooting indoor/have enough light I'd recommend 100 T-Max as well.

800 is easy to work with because it doesn't need much light and is very forgiving, but as you get better you'll move into lower ISO more than likely.

Ilford XP2 is a nice 400 ISO colour process black and white. I prefer it to the Kodak equivalent that comes out too warm in tone.

i have this very camera (F60) its a great little thing.
Since the kit lens is kinda slow (Nikkor AF 35-80mm f/4-5.6 D) a high speed B&W film will be highly appropriate. ie, ISO400 and above.
But, the camera is still very forgiving with low speed films too.

CCDs have improved to the point that film is now a useless and stupidly expensive technology.
send me a telegram when you get some nice pics
