I think it is the f-number (that's what it's called) that makes it obvious that this is indeed a miniature. If this is your goal - way to go, nice pic. If not, make sure the whole thing is in focus.

This is not a picture of a miniature. It is a picture of a real scene made to look like a miniature, either through Photoshop trickery or a perspective-control lens (my guess would be the former, based on my knowledge of the perspective-control lens solutions for Canon--either a hack job, which wouldn't list an aperture or focal length in the EXIF, or a geniune Canon Tilt-shift lens, which has a minimum focal length 7mm longer than the EXIF says he used)

These aren't made with a tilt-shift lens. They're made with photoshop using masks and blur. I know this because there is no such thing as a 17mm tilt shift.

you could do it on a view camera, I guess, and thats not too expensive, not that these are even close to that quality of a 4x5, 5x6 etc
