Duzn't take much time, and might find a place where they do it for free :) You should do that every 3-6 months, depending on use :)
Sensor dust is quite natural and is IMPOSSIBLE to avoid, but you can minimize the risk by changing lenses quickly, don't waste time while the sensor is exposed.
p.s. About the DON'T DO IT YOURSELF part... yes... DON'T DO IT! Breathing on the sensor increases the moisture that causes the dust to stick to the sensor ;) Don't do it yourself...
