I'm looking for a more efficient lens thats not too expensive. Something better than the lens that comes with the Nikon D50. Any suggestions?

50mm f/1.8 Nikkor.

Best buy for your money. Alternatively, a 28mm f/2.8 Nikkor.

If he can afford it.

The 12-24mm is a great wide angle lens.

I have the same thing going on now. I am ordering a nikkor 50mm f1.8 lens tomorrow and then when i get my next paycheck I'm gonna bust for a sigma 17-70 f2.8 macro lens

Probably looking for a fairly fast lens that has good focus throughout its entire range if it's a zoom lens.

> good focus throughout its entire range
And what does that mean? Sharpness?

guys guys i think he means a lens that makes pictures go faster. i know that my lens is really slow and i can only take like a few pictures a minute. this must be what he means.

Well, for example, the kit lens for some Canon cameras is the 28-90mm. It's not a good lens at all since it's really blurry at particular lengths around 75mm. It'd suck if you can't take a picture just because you're limited by your lens' performance.

tl;dr version: yes, sharpness.

Oh, I see, that makes sense.

Uhhh... the 12-24 is three times as much as a 28 prime.
