Yeah, I think I dig the 35mm f/2. I need one.

Also, I fucking love everyone on the Texan. They're all stellar, truly.

Not true. Alternative weeklies (The Village Voice, the Independent, SF Bay Guardian, etc.) are epic win.

We're clearly talking about college newspaper, gayboy.
Real papers are in a different category.

What college paper doesn't publish daily?

A lot, apparently. We were like celebrities at TIPA because we're a daily, heh. Then again, we've got tons of advertising moola and a huge 200+ staff.

I processed them to be a bit darker than normal, but the tonality hits every zone. I redid>>158120, since it was overall a bit too dark for my liking.

I don't know... I take issue with some of the quality control on our writing, particularly Life & Arts, but we do pretty solid straight reporting. Teresa Mioli just got torn apart by Dahr Jamail when he was here lecturing for her terrible propagandistic feel-good profile on some student veterans of Iraq. He was right on the money, too.

But all in all, nobody's perfect, and we do a pretty fucking awesome job of putting out a daily that actually competes with the Austin American Statesman for readership.

Oh, and our photo staff is peerless. :D

Check the filenames. These are downloaded resized shots from his Flickr account.

I'd wager they're not from his Ricoh, given that he mentions the 35/2.0 in the first post...

Huh. Here (NC) every university I'm aware of their newspaper has a daily, and usually a few other official student publications that come out less frequently, even ones that don't even offer a journalism major.

Correct. The aspect ratio also can tip you off, if it's 2:3 instead of 4:3, it's probably my Nikon. Also, if there's any selective focus, definitely the Nikon, heh.
