What does /p/ suggest?

Sony A100 or Sony A700

D200 if it is working and not badly worn and the right price.

Yeah, and i've decided to buy from henrys/downtown, so NEW THREAD.

What's anon thoughts about used stuff? Warranties/Repairs for it?
>> Anonymous
>>137283

Anonymous is legion. Good job.
>> Anonymous
Keep it to one thread, you brainless attention whore.
>> Anonymous
d200 if it's in good condition
>> Anonymous
How many actuations would anon consider "good condition"?
>> Anonymous
10,000 actuations a year is fair for me

good would be less than that i guess
>> Anonymous
>>137304

and by fair i mean normal
>> Anonymous
>>137304

Cool, thanks anon. Im going to try to check henrys tomorrow then.
>> Anonymous
after reading both your threads here and the one on the other forum

i can conclude you're a newbie getting way over your head buying a camera to compensate lack of skill

but get the d200 by all means since it's the same price
>> Anonymous
>>137379

newbie? not much. ive worked with a couple of photographers before just for fun(proms, weddings, events), but now im ready to start taking pictures on my own camera. but i guess i am still a noob compared to the guys here.

+getting ad40 would just put me in the soccer mom category, so yea. no offense to all the d40ers out there. people with the 18-200mm ive seen are still cool

anyway, i checked around for prices and it looks like used d200 is around 950/1kish for body only with a less than 10k actuations. d80 is 850, $100 difference. thats just me, no ranting involved, d200 is superior anyway.
>> Anonymous
yeah sure, whatever you say

buy the "superior" camera and you'll automatically have better pictures lol
>> Anonymous
>>137402

I mean body-wise, it will last longer. I heard the sensor of the d200 and the d80's the same anyway.
>> Anonymous
I suggest a canon 30D/nikon D80.

I hate people with no clue, who decides on NIKON or CANON instead of just buying the best camera in their price range.
>> Anonymous
>>137492
But the Canon/Nikon thing is more of an issue over lenses than bodies.
>> Anonymous
>>137492

i have a 1.5kish budget for getting the camera from the stuff ive done the past year.

Oh yea, and i didnt just decided that "HEY, I WANT A NIKON SINCE ITS MORE PRO". I've been able to try the other dslrs too (olympus, pentax, even sigma) from certain coverages, and the nikons were the ones that really stood out in terms of ergonomics and menus. I know I sound picky, but i dont really care.
>> ac !!VPzQAxYPAMA
>>137492

>>137499
Doing it right.
>> Anonymous
Don't invest too much on a body. Get the D80
>> Anonymous
>>137400

Save the $100 and get the D80.
Use the $100 and buy the 50mm 1.8 prime.
>> ac !!VPzQAxYPAMA
>>137558
If it's only a $100 difference, I'd say go with the D200. Offhand, I'm pretty sure that it can meter with old-ass glass where the D80 can't, and I'm sure there are other significant advantages too.
>> Anonymous
>>137562

agreed. if its only $100 difference go with the d200. Its just feels nicer and has more features. connectivity is better too.
>> Anonymous
Nikon D80 solid win. Except no dust off. Which is a bit of a bitch, ive had mine for 5 weeks and ive already sent it back once for cleaning.

ALSO whats so good about the D60 then? Does my D80 beat it?
>> ac !!VPzQAxYPAMA
>>137617
The current crop of dust removal technology is nigh worthless, so don't lose too much sleep over it. I've got some big ol' boulders of dust on my EOS-Anti-Dust-System equipped 400D.
>> Anonymous
>>137617ALSO whats so good about the D60 then? Does my D80 beat it?

what the fuck do you care? no one mentioned anything about the d60

but you had to bring it up because you're insecure about your d80

lol
>> Anonymous
>>137621

Would you rather I started a new thread on Nikons? Im really happy with my D80, im just worried this inexpensive little bugger might be better for less!
>> Anonymous
you know what, for the first time i actually feel tired about trolling people

your d80 is better, does that satisfy you?

someone else can tell you why but in the end, it's better
>> Anonymous
>>137632

Thank you. At the end of the day, theres always "better" cameras, i was just having a "Yay my cameras new and awesome OH SHI-" moment.
>> Anonymous
OP here. How about d200+50mm f/1.8+memory? And which memory would be fine? 2gig or 4gig?
>> Anonymous
>>137694

See, this is what we meant by you being a newbie when you should know these things.

Specially after your little post here>>137400

Don't lie to us or just come clean, it insults anon's intelligence when you're trying to hide.

You will be serverly limited with only one prime. It does get you by but you need some kind of general use zoom. Or maybe not since I don't have one myself.

4 GB at today's prices, anything less is ridiculous.
>> Anonymous
>>137696

Okay, cool? Anyway, d200+18-70mm+4gig then?
>> Anonymous
No, D60 + 55-200 VR + 8 GB card.

Massive coverage with a small package.
>> ac !!VPzQAxYPAMA
>>137705
Massive coverage? 55mm minimum on a crop sensor?

I guess it is technically massive, but it's not particularly *useful* coverage unless your primary photographic subject is people 20 feet away.
>> Anonymous
Way to ruin my troll.

Way to go.

/me golf claps.
>> Anonymous
>>137733

seconded. starting on a 55-200mm would be rather hard to cope with, for sure.

iso 400, 20 sec., no noise reduction. Does pretty well. These were surprisingly free of hot pixels, too, I do get a few of those, moreso on iso 800, especially with hard transitions between dark and bright color. Considering that it changes with the iso, I'm pretty sure shooting raw would help.

Hey, I didnt settle for the kit lens to make anon happy. Like an 18-55mm's nuff for everyday.

he ought to take 0.4" exposures at iso 400 with it, will work out just fine!

i'd say d200, since it's so cheap now and even though i'm a canon man, when i tried the d200 i really liked it. The ergonomics are awesome! Go get nao!
