Help with Camera Selection Trv !!Oo43raDvH61
Alright guys, I've come to you to see what you'd recommend as far as a DSLR goes. Nikon D300 Vs. Canon 40D. I know that they aren't really on level playing fields, but as far as cost goes, what would you recommend. I'm looking at purchasing one of these cameras tomorrow. I have more lenses for the Nikon, which is why I'm siding with it a little bit more, but I do have a few Canon lenses sitting around. Pros and cons to both cameras? Thanks

D300, Nikons have better coloration in their pictures.

The D300 is objectively a better camera, but that really doesn't matter. Three things to consider:

1. Which one you do like the feel of better, in your hand and everything?
2. Lenses. At the focal lengths you'll want, which system offers the lenses you'd rather have that you can afford? If you're willing to manually focus, take into account past Nikkor AI and AI-S lenses and the lenses that can be fitted to an EOS by an adapter.
3. What sort of work are you planning on doing? There's certain sorts of work where the differences between the 40D and D300 will make a genuine difference, though you probably won't be doing them.

It's called a d300 because when you see it, you'll turn 300 degrees and walk away.

ITs called a 40D because when you see it, you turn 40 degrees and walk to the shelf that the D300 is on
