FUCKI got water on the outer rim of my 50mm 1.4, you know, the recessed ribbed part.I've wiped it off and I don't think the front element itself got wet. What do I do?
if you're ballsy enough, i suggest the following. Easily, you've voided your warranty already, and leaving the water alone will probably not fix anything. Take it apart, let them dry, reassemble.

>>105047Okay, I was a bit too excited when I first posted.I have a hood on my lens, it's a Canon 50mm 1.4. A couple drops of water fell on the inner rim of the hood and since my camera was at an angle it dripped down to the inner barrel of the lens. See picture.I quickly used a tissue to dry it up.
>>105058what the frack? Get a life dude and stop bitching about non-issues
>>105058This is an interesting turn. I'd still like to see the insides of your lens, so if you'd take it apart anyways and take some pics of it, i'd appreciate it.
>>105062I was worried the water would seep inside the lens and mess with the electronic tidbits.I'm letting it dry out in the open right now. No, I'm not opening it up.
>>105087Seep... through metal?
>>105095Where the front element touches the inner barrel. Somehow I don't think it's sealed airtight.
