The thumbnail is VERY YES, and the full image is VERY NO.

What the fuck did you do to this? It's such a great image, but oh my god artifacts and color chroma. My eyes, the goggles do nothing.

Cannot be summed up any better than this.

It's like someone tried to emulate the bad image quality mobile phones provide.

Please don't ever use imaging software again.

Good lawd, I've seen it somewhere before, somewhere mainstream yet i can't place it.

>>59859
Can you post the original image from the camera. I'd like to see it. The picture would've been awesome if you did all your effects to a lesser magnitude.

is there some sort of noise compression software that can eliminate noise by reducing image size? I'm not sure how much noise reduction algorithms work, but since this looks good as a thumbnail I assume the noise can be reduced simply by reducing the general resolution. I think most try to fill in the noise with adjacent colors.

>>59912eliminate noise by reducing image size
Yup, that's called JPEG compression.
>> Anonymous
I don't think jpg compression actually has the motive of reducing noise though, so in all actuality it could make the noise worse by not recognizing that what its reducing is noise, like the picture thats in this thumbnail could look better if when its compressed to thumbnail size theres actually a program that is just getting rid of all the "noise" pixels first. you see what I mean?

Forget about that, just desatuate and despeckle. A few clicks and this becomes a winning photograph.

Unfortunately, I'm not on my image editing computer right now, so someone else will have to do this.

Well selective desaturation has just gone up a level, so something has to take its place:

(So, protip to the DeviantArt community: If you are not Michael Reichmann, do not try selective desaturation.)

Personally, I wouldn't like this picture even w/ out the editing. To me it just looks like a unartistic snapshot of some girls chest...

Then again this is 4chan so what could I expect...

Results from NeatImage for comparison. Which I think is superior, although it gives a bit of soft focus effect in this example. Probably because I did a quick job with it.

Funny, I posted this before, but it disappeared. I think someone was trying to pull a huge stick out of his ass, but accidentally hit delete instead.

Well I ain't no doing anyone's homework. You have the source, you see the result, give a go at it yourself.

And I find the lines in>>60100at least equally distracting.

of course noise ninja can do whatever kind of noise reduction you want to.

Ohh, this is quite similar to the results I got from NeatImage! Especially the second one. Just check this.
