I was told I should experiment a bit with light etc on my macro shots. Results of one such shoot.

OK light from underneath is not always very flattering. I'm just fucking around.

Shot one one of those faggy mirrors. I got it so I can put my contact lenses in. Fucking things keep moving and making my vision go out of focus. Not the ideal thing when trying to shoot IN focus!

Nice stuff, mate. I really like the perspective on the first one. The second one is a good close-up and I like the use of the lights in the fourth. I love doing macros of figurines. Yours are pretty good! Keep it up.

I like the last one the most. It's pretty cool. Like a stage for a musical or a music video set or something.

#1 i dont really like, the out of focus figure is really distracting as a whole i think.

#2, 4 are pretty cool. thats a nice mirror you got for this lol

#3 could have benefit from a front reflecting surface i think, so theres not that huge distance between the figure and the reflection, but thats just me.

I flipped #1 here is original for perspective.

still the same thing. theres a huge out of focus thing that takes up over 1/4th of the frame.

>>89412
is better, but it kind of confuses me because i know its upside down

The only other alternative to get a similar shot would be to take 2 photos. One in focus on the reflection and one in focus on the original. However I am crap at manual focus so would surely screw it up and moving the camera would be pointless to get focus lock on each. Or shooting under under glass for a single underboob shot. But then you don't get a clear a shot. Pros and cons.

or you could try stopping down all the way. the glass isnt a bad idea if you light it in a way that you dont see it in the glass.

>>89426
Yeah might try that and have a longer exposure to compensate. Get back to you on that I'm going to test.

I tried to recreate the shot with aperture set to F8. It won't go any higher than that unfortunately. Didn't quite have the same pop to it and had to adjust the exposure and vibrance in Lightroom to compensate.
