Seriously, though, as I see it, the "ground" is the point of the shot. If he'd focused on the graffiti guy and gotten all of him in frame, it'd just be another boring shot of some guy doing graffiti. This way, it's a shot of the environment in which he's doing graffiti. The guy with the spraypaint isn't important, what's important is what he's doing and the lengths he's going to to do it. He's just a faceless kid out there making art. Doesn't matter if you can't see his head because he's made his mark on the world. And I think the sliver of focus gives the whole thing a nice sense of depth.
I dunno, maybe it's just me.
