I didn't realise the actual quality of his prints untill I bought the book published a year or two back.

I've seen nothing like it before, the range in tonality is beyond anything that digital can produce even today

Side note, am I the only one that prints don't do anything for? Like, for a time figured I was just looking at shitty prints, but even a Salgado print I saw once didn't really impress itself on me any more than the image on the computer I'd already seen. I mean, I could admire how it was very obviously well done, the craftsmanship, but the image was no more or less effective. Same with anything else- I'm actually sitting in a library right now with a copy of "The Americans," reproduction quality is great, but the images don't stand out any more than they do on the computer screen. They're images.

yeah, you're probably the only one. a true optical print is an artform in itself. if you've seen an ansel adams print in real life, you'll know what i mean.
