Im still new to the photo-"scene". Currently i have a Canon IXUS 900. Wondering if i should get a Nikon D80. Like the picture? Was just something random i found hehe.

If you looked through the pictures you've taken with your Ixus, came across this one, and said to yourself "Yes. This is the shot. This is the shot that I will use to show /p/ my potential as a photographer," then I'd say you should probably hold off on upgrading to a digital SLR for a while.

Im kinda happy with my currently camera, tho i like to have a "real" one compared to digital.

wait for two or three years. the cameras out then will make the new hotness this year look like junk. they'll be cheaper, too.

yeah learn as much with your current cam and wait till you outgrow it to upgrade, you'll get better value for your money that way and if you dont end up taking photography that seriously you won't have wasted money on a dslr to have it sit around and collect dust.

Agreed with all of the above. Only upgrade when the limitations of your current camera becomeĀ…limiting.
