in a land before digital cameras, the pickles use to be on little spools, and you had to use your thumb to activate a lever. this lever would tell the exposed pickle to move and let the next unexposed pickle stand behind the shutter.
this auto winder would replade your thumb, allowing you to focus on composure and press the shutter release; then once you do press it the auto winder would move the pickles for you.
but now in the age of digital, there are millions of pickles that move themselves because they are more crowded in the camera case.
