Go esoteric. Pick up a Rollei 3003.

I've had a 2000FC and a 501CM, both were great cameras. The only downside(?) about Hasselblad is the lens prices haven't fallen as much as other medium format brands, so it can still be very pricey to get yourself anything other than the basic 80mm. Especially if you want the newer versions of lenses.

There's no reason you can't shoot handheld with a hassey, but there is something to be said for slowing down and shooting with a tripod.

LOL MEDIUM FORMAT.

Unless you have access to a darkroom, ENJOI UR OVERPRICED DEVELOPMENT & PRINTING COSTS LOL LOL LOL.

Developing cost is pretty much on par with developing an equal amount (i.e., surface area) of 35mm. And if you have a scanner that can handle medium format (mine can and cost about $170), you can do your own printing pretty easily.

Proof printing maybe, but unless you have a fucking superb home printer digital print ? real print.

But you can send your digital files out for printing once you've scanned them. There are a variety of reasonably priced printing options out there nowadays. Not as cheap as 35mm on 4x6 or 5x7, but the same price as printing any other digital file or 35mm much larger than those.

Excellent point.
I gladly concede defeat and withdraw my previous shit-talk.

Yeah its still fucking expensive. i really don't see the point shooting on film if your only going to print it digitally at some point.

Dont get me wrong i LOVE my mamiya645pro and yashica but its FUCKING EXPENSIVE.

Sometimes Digital just can't compete with film quality. Medium Format has a much nicer DoF, contrast and well, you know the drill.
Scan it in and voila you have a digital file you can either print yourself or poast on /p/ or whatever.
Even if it is a digital file, it's still made with a MF camera, thus made of win.

Sometimes there's more to photography that test charts and cost per frame ratios.
