I have a fm10, I bought it new when I was a nub a photography, and bought some pretty nice manual glass for it, a 50m 1.8, a 135mm 2.8, a 24mm 2.0, and the 35-70 3.5 that came with it. My question to /p/ is should I save up to buy some really badass glass or digital camera and new lenses to go with them. That last choice will take me a longass time since I'm making 300 bucks a week while paying for school.

i dont think your lenses will become opaque if you buy a dslr body and you'll save about $0.50 a frame over the cost of film...on the other hand your sweet nikkor 24mm f/2 becomes a fairly bland lens with the small size chip

Nikon F3 / Nikon FM2N.

I'd recommend keeping the lenses you have and expanding the kit. There's nothing wrong with an FM10. Later on you can always get a D200 or whatever else is around that works with AI-S lenses.

Actually it makes a great wide-normal lens. I use a 24mm f/2.8 about 99% of the time on my D200.

Sigma makes a pretty fantastic 24mm f1.8, Has a great close focus ability too, I use it all the time (works on full frame aswell).

Since you have a lack of AF lenses, if you do buy digital go for a D200 (so it can meter) If your going to buy some badass lenses first I would suggest getting ones that can AF, then later on you can cheap out on the body while waiting for the D300 to drop in price or whatever it is that you want to do.
