Hey /p/ i need some help.

When using a compact flash card in a Cannon 40D, when shooting raw. When i upload them it shoes the image and then a CR2 thingi. What is it? the CR2 part.

Help me /p/. Sorry for the lack of photo

It's the RAW file itself! Ignore the JPG file if you're going to shoot in RAW and process the files yourself.

you may have to download a plugin from canon for photoshop to be able to read it if you're using an older version of photoshop

Hasn't happened to me yet but from what I've heard you're pretty screwed unless you want to pay a company to recover them

A friend had luck with a program called Convar or something like that.

He didn't use it on corrupt files though, he used it on some that were accidentally deleted.
