this is really an impressive shot. I'd like it better if more of the subject were in focus but what can you do I guess.

Macro shots, therefore, generally have very narrow DoF, especially if they're macro shots of something that's apt to move around (requiring a quick shutter speed and subsequently large aperture if you don't have a good flash for macro work)
