Canon EF 35mm f/2

Does anybody here has a copy of this lens? Do you recommend it? It's quite affordable, and i could buy a mint one.

I've got one. I like it. Makes for a good normal on crop sensors.

What about IQ? Would you mind with some pictures of it wide open and stopped down?
Thanks in advance

Not great IQ, but nothing USM can't fix!

I don't have any wide open shots on me, but I'll tell you they are less than impressive. This is lens you shoot wide open for speed and bokeh. It's not an L lens.

I use it as my normal on my EOS 5, and when it's film, shitty mtf charts are allowed.

save up a little more and get the Tamron 17-50

it's a stop slower but much better for image quality. that and you gain all the other ranges you would need the 20/2.8, 24/2.8, 28/2.8 to complement your little 35mm

tamron is pretty win.
I personally like primes more though, i'd go with the 24mm 2.8

meh, i had $300 to spend on a new lens wider than 50mm for crop

choices were ef 24, 28 or 35. thought long and hard about it and i can achieve much more with a 17-50 than with one of these and it only costs like $100 more

much better quality to boot too
