Hey /p/ I'm back (though I doubt any of you missed me)
Was in Vancouver for 3 days, didn't even turn on a computer in that time, so I have been out of the loop.
Went down for a Rave, it sucked, the Venue blew and the main stage was blocked off So I couldn't get good shots.
So I took the next day to wander around downtown and take pics (amid shopping with a friend)
I'm currently stitching a few panoramics, Will post them later, so for now a teaser.

I'm going to Vancouver next month and I can't wait. Seems like an awesome place to do some shooting.

Yes, yes it is, And I hope for your sake it doesn't rain the entire time, You are going there near the start of its rainy season.

Some easy places to find for pictures, Granville and Robson is a good starting place, Stanley Park, Whiterock, Granville Island, Any of the bridges...
If you are ballsy East Hastings for some street pics.

You heard wrong, I just posted a (not full res) Pic that hadn't been cropped yet (After stitching)
I never save my PTGui sav files, and I just keep the original JPG's on my comp so if i need to make a new version i just re-render.

BUT for you i'll post a similar (but not full res) Version of the pano I just posted here)

Ya, It is pretty epic looking, I really liked how it turned out. Took almost a full hour in the Photoshop stage to tweak it properly though (and the buildings still aren't perfect)
In this situation I would have loved to have a tripod however, This was shot Wide open on my Sigma at 10mm! (which is asking for trouble)
Light wasn't good enough to handheld otherwise.

Sigma 10-20mm lens, D50, @10mm F4, 15 pics (5 wide, 3 high)

Heres another pic, that didn't turn out as well. Buildings look like they are going to fall over, and I don't like it enough to fix that..

How long does it take you to take all the photos required for this? (also how many photos is it?)
>> Vincent !!8LCSE0Zp1mL
>>127840
That one was taken in maybe 5 seconds, 7 pics (vertical orientation) Again @10mm

The big multi-row pics take up to 30 seconds i suppose, If i'm using a tripod (RARELY) it takes up to 2 minutes. Depends on the amount of action in the scene, In these downtown ones, speed matters. Landscapes don't move much..

Alright Last Panoramic from the trip.
Also my favorite! Plus it fits my 3to1 ratio for printing.

And a Rave pic for good measure.
The official Clubzone pics kind of suck, but they did succeed in getting a lot more Jailbait pics than me.

What ISO do you shoot? It's not in your EXIF.
>> Vincent !!8LCSE0Zp1mL
>>127921
ISO 800 90% of the time, the 30mm f1.4 I take lets me get about 1/60th f1.4.
so I stick with that for non flash shots.

In PTGUI, does changing the mapping style of the images fix the buildings-falling-over syndrome?

like this one the most

If you mean eliminates the converging lines Percieved far away objects are smaller, AKA the tops of buildings.
Then yes, the Global stitching auto corrects for that, Pretty handy, then you don't need a tilt shift / perspective control lens!
