You fail miserably as you cant even get the lens to be in focus.

Throw that shit out and get a decent one.

Get a new lens and make that one into a tilt-shift lens?

Well its a crappy as hell lens anyway, I doubt you could fix it anyway

tomorrow i am going to the camera store to see if its fixable (for cheap) or if they have any other creative Ideas. The only problem I see with the tilt/shift lens idea is that it is not a medium/large format lense (6x6cm+) but i'll probably give it a try anyway.
>> Anonymous
Tilt shift works with any format. Odds are you're not going to repair that lens for anything less than it's worth.

ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner. I took it to the store and it would have cost me $15 more to get it fixed than to buy it again. so anyhow, how does /p/ like my new lens? and I have all these pieces left over! The aperture was stuck so i had to open the lens and break it more (and insert a piece of wire with some super glue) to get the lens to open up so I wouldn't need 8second minimu exposures. i'm going to walmart soon to get a bellowed plunger. then the fun will begin...

Okay, as an avid user of my own 28-80 nikkor lens... does it have the macro setting on it, too? :D
>> Anonymous
>>45778
no, the focus is busted too so it has a minimum and maximum focal length of about 3 feet
>> Liska !!LIVFOETqL8j
>>45779

That sucks; i think i just got a freak accident with the macro setting on my 28-80 lens, then. At least you got yours to work.

no cool effects yet, but this was taken with with the "new" lens. the mug is about 3 feet fromn the lens and the tape is about 4 feet

Oh no, what happened?
>> Liska !!LIVFOETqL8j
absolutely nothing; it just came out wrong. My 28-80 nikkor was the kit lens that came with the camera and that had that extra macro setting on it. I was wondering if OP's lens had the same switch, but i guess not.

All my lenses work fine, aside from the tape you already know about on the back of my camera. I was referring to the good fact that the OP got his lens to work, too!

>>45793
Oh, I misunderstood "freak accident". Thought you broke your lens.
>> Liska !!LIVFOETqL8j

I realized that while I was lunch, after I had typed it. Nope, everything's working fine, but now i'm wondering if i was the only one that got the macro setting on my kit lens. Looks like OP's mostly got it fixed, though, and it seems to work pretty well. He could start a build-your-own-lens workshop

>>45796
I think that would be the worst idea evar. i nearly broke the shit out of it trying to manually open the aperture. actually I do have two little plastic pieces left over that look like they snapped off from inside the lens somewhere... :P
>> Liska !!kPAOOFKxYLH
>>45961

Hehehhe okay, then no make-your-own lens workshop for you. It would be cool, though, for someone to figure out/make a homemade lens, so everyone else can try it too. I'm not technical enough to go for it.
>> elf_man
I guess if you had enough broke down lenses and spare parts, you could cobble one together. Might be easier to build your own working lightsaber, though. ;)

yes, lightsaber, indeed that shall be my next attempt!
