So why am I posting a not-very-artsy snapshot?

Because ZOMFG I DEVELOPED IT MYSELF!

I'm way more proud of this than is really warranted. Taken with a Minolta SR-T-SC II on Ilford Delta 3200 (at ISO1600, still grainy as fuck. Some of that might be my hamfisted developing, though.)

Pfft. Unless it's on a glass plate, you got nothing to be proud of.

Developer? Doesn't seem too grainy at all to my Rodinal-washed eyes.

Nice. Going to start doing this as a matter of course?

Unlikely. Was complicated and messy to do. Especially compared to my normal workflow, which involves a lot more sliding-cards-in-slots and a lot less carefully-measuring-liquids.

But it was kinda fun, and felt undeniably awesome to pull the roll out of the developing tank and see it filled with pictures instead of solid blocks of black and/or white, which was my fear. I'll certainly do it four or five more times (since I've got some more black and white film to get through).

i can't get past this statement -- of course ISO1600 will be grainy - the higher ISO films always are because they have BIGGER GRAINS than lower ISO films.

Need to make a point of seeking out shots for which dark and grainy is an advantage when shooting this film.

Like this'n.

Yes, I realize that. I'm saying that it's grainy as fuck even though I shot/developed it at ISO1600 rather than the ISO3200 or ISO6400 that Delta 3200 is frequently used at.

(So it's possibly even pulled a stop. It's not entirely clear if Delta 3200 is naturally ISO1600 or 3200. I've heard it's really 1600, but the packaging claims 3200)

It's fun to get down on my knees in the middle of the road to take pictures of oncoming cars.

Last one worth posting to /p/.

Methinks there may be some disagreement in this household with regards to how to decorate the lawn.

Seconding (uh, repeating) question about what developer you used.

IIRC, Delta 3200 is actually 800 ISO (1000 ISO precisely, but even the data sheet says they're rounding it down for convenience). Unless I'm confusing it with another film with 3200 in its name.
