First ever urbex, quite a lot of bland, boring shots which I blame on not having a lot of time, my friends were more eager to just explore the place then leave.

In case Butterfly is lurking about, this is in Liverpool.

Nice work, There was an amzing abandoned cotton mill complex near where i live, me and my people used to urbex around it all the time, we got in through a window.

i was going to take my camera until someone took our root in and burned the whole thing down.

true story.

Ahh that sucks. I suppose that's why people are meant to be all hush hush about it and not take photos of their entry point etc.

From what I've read about it the only way to get really good "urbex" photos is to go by yourself. Friends who are just along for the ride don't have the patience to just hang out while you're trying to pick interesting angles or set up good shots.

What you might want to do is look through the snaps you took to try to figure out what you'd want to shoot if you went back, and then make a second trip by yourself (or with one or two other people who were willing to work with you) where you can take your time.

Sounds like a good idea, you can actually get to the roof of the building and I'd love to take some shots from there of the surrounding area at night (less risk of getting spotted too).

I guess it's just getting the balls to do it, I mean it's quite a creepy place during the day...

Really, going with one other person is probably best. Bring a photo buddy or something. Because really, having that extra person there to get help if you're trapped (especially in old concrete structures, which tend to be hell on cell reception) or injured and want to get out.

Plus, they can hold and hand you your gear while you climb over stuff and such.

Word of mouth/looking for local buildings other people have explored. Just google "City name + urbex" or something. Although if it's been broken into once, the entrance might be sealed up.

This place was boarded up to hell, there's been a bunch of previous people in there and you can see how they got in and how it's been closed, but we still found a way in.

They have a database of abandonments. Some of it is private though. And I would strongly recommend staying off the forums. The faggotry might kill you.

Yours, do you know Dale Street? Building with a big gold dome on it?

I thought this was a bit shit but my friends liked the gasmask-like shadow.

Across the road from that really huge building. I really have no idea what any of them are called.

Used to be the Royal Insurance building I think.

Things have gotten far worse in 3 years. All the good mods left the site long ago. And I can count on one hand the good photographers that post there.
>> okto !.ZlrOYZhsk
I think the ones you've shown us aren't bad. The first one especially gives us a good idea of the expansiveness of the space in which you were. They could all use a little bit of tweaking to bring up the shadow detail some; could be my monitor, but they all feel just a bit...flat. I imagine the light was pretty flat, so these are probably realistic depictions of the environment. Overall 7/10.
