I got a security guard sent out to question me today!

I was at a local winery, and this time I decided to go the whole 9 yards, and bring the tripod and everything.
Borrowed a friends manfrotto tripod and leveling head, and I had my D200, with 10-20mm on it and a polarizer, With my backpack of other camera gear laying on the ground lext to me, while I had the wired shutter release to take Bracketed pics (5 pics).
So I was about 70% through the panoramic (23 pics x5 bracketed) When this security guy came up to me and was like.

"So I got sent out to just make sure you were only doing this for personal use, thats true right?"
I was like "ya, don't worry I'm just a hobbyist, ITs such a nice day I had to get some shots in"(while the camera is going click click click)
And hes like,
"ya I get sent out here all the time, you know just to please the guys upstairs, so if anyone comes up to talk to you, just say Personal use only!"

Working on the pano right now, it was one of those crazy overcast but sunny days, Hence the bracketing. Will be putting it through some HDR steps to balance the sky and ground.

I shall post later!
Pic semi related, taken as I was leaving.

cool, cant wait to see the rest!!

1st pic is.. nice.. but i really don't like how that concrete thing (top middle of photo) is not straight.
i know that's out of your control since straightening it would tilt the horizon.
but, shoop maybe?

>>140342but, shoop maybe?

when in doubt, use photoshop

FUCK YEAH, INSTANTART
>> Vincent !!8LCSE0Zp1mL
>>140342
Lol ya I would have fixed that if I actually edited this pic, However I just wanted to put a relevant pic with my post, so I just resized this and threw it up.

Pano 3 of 3(not going to do all 5 theres no point) Is half way through stitching right now, then I have to do exact cropping and get the files ready for Photomatix, and then render the HDR, and then tweak that file as necessary.

Aka still like 4 more hours left to go lol

shocking.

Shut up faggot, everyone uses photoshop. If you don't, you're a tool who isn't going to get hired.

i hope all the work will pay off
but judging on the 1st picture, i'll look forward to the results

First sample, still probably going to work on it (Theres some small errors in the pavement that need fixing for one, and I don't like some aspects of the ground (Sky looks good to me though))

Will try messing with the LDR lower half to see if I want to limit the fake lookingness of the bottom.
As for now, Enjoy / flame

This is a great panorama, watch out for those dark dust specks in the sky (top right), theyll get ya.

Awesome otherwise, very clear.

someone's gotta do it
>> Vincent !!8LCSE0Zp1mL

well then you will have to wait :)
I'm busy stitching other pics and editing non panoramics (And supposed to be doing homework)

wait a day or two and I will do a "Best of me" thread haha.

Huh, Mission Hill Estate Winery. Nice place.
>> Vincent !!8LCSE0Zp1mL
>>140446
Yup....
though I don't really see much of 4chan being wine experts so I assume you have also been there?
>> Anonymous
If at some point you could do some sort of walkthrough/tutorial on HD, I think most of us would love to see it.

I can't ever seem to get the crazy almost CGI look with my stuff, but I'm only using CS3.

What the hell is wrong with a graduated neutral density filter? Stop it with the eye cancer HDRs already.

congrats, fine stuff!
i got questioned quite a couple of times while taing shots of official buildings in my town . kinda strange, really but i kinda understand those guys.

ND reduces the detail from captured light.

HDR does not.
>> Anonymous
Vincent,
Do you have a Flickr gallery or something?
>> Vincent !!8LCSE0Zp1mL
>>140560
Theres 3 vertical rows in this pic, my Graduated ND filter is not cokin style, so Its not possible.
Also the clouds were the only real point of "HDR" ness, since the bottom half of the second picture is actually an LDR file.

>>140564
Not really, my smugmug account is about as good as it gets for me.
photocross.smugmug.com

>>140538
I do pano's, I don't really do HDR's except in lighting like this. And I try to keep the CGI ness to a minimum. So i'm not the one to ask about that.

Wasn't one RAW file enough to cover the whole DR?

Im amazed that the security guard wasnt a total dick and forcing you to leave at once.
>> Anonymous
>>140339
Fuck, im always running into issues with security guards, especially when shotting buildings....
>> Anonymous
using a CP doesn't affect the stitching of your pano later?

also are you using a pano head, or shooting hand-held
>> Vincent !!8LCSE0Zp1mL
>>140599
Probably not, I used -2, 0 and +1, And I still had to steal most of the info from -2 for the clouds.

>>140600
I'm in Canada, most security guards aren't dicks, And the ones that are, don't have guns or batons.

>>140625
No, Because although the CP is more efficient at 90 degrees from the sun, It is consistant in those areas.
Also No pano head, just a regular 3 axis one. I handheld 95% of the time, however this time I wanted to bracket, so I brought along a tripod.
>> Anonymous
lol you guys are talking about CP
>> Anonymous
>>140681

It's the only board here you can talk about openly and post CP without it being deleted and getting banned.
>> Anonymous !SDPEsPMnww
>>140648
I still haven't figured out how to get rid of the parallax shift from rotating your lens on an axis other than its optical center. Objects close to the camera shift so much that I can't create a panoramic without mismatched lines all over the place. What are you doing that I'm not doing?
>> Vincent !!8LCSE0Zp1mL
>>140875
Overlapping more maybe? I never have major issues even taking the pic handheld.

I took this shot at 14mm, but I often take them at 10mm aswell (should have more issues with objects close at 10mm than 14mm technically..)
