I like it!

But wats with the horizon?

Composition wise i would have like to see the gate as a barrier against the elements or some shit like that.
>> iProd !8x7lXo9zIQ
Sickeningly AWESOME, I like it.

I dunno I'm not really a fan of this. I don't "get" it. I think it would be really powerful though if you changed the plain fence, to a turnstyle like when you get on a roller coaster or are admitted to a park. It would be sort of a Ride Nature. Ultimate Thrill. or something...
>> Anonymous
It's a good shot. But i'm also confused about the point of it. I mean i don't get it either, but is there anything to get at all?

I agree with>>112755the crop could have ended just below the gate itself to enclose it as the 'entry point' or denied entry point of the shot.

The bottom third with the rock loses that 'jailed' feel'

>>I think it would be really powerful though if you changed the plain fence, to a turnstyle like when you get on a roller coaster or are admitted to a park

LOL yeah, Get some telekinetic powers and bend the world to what you want your shot to be.

Thank you.

... hmmm i'll give the re cropping a try.

As much as i would love to mind bend the world for my photography... i'm not Ken Rockwell.

kinda like it.. but overall looks too shooped (weird coming from me huh)

i don't really have a sense of what i'm looking at

yeah it's funny, i thought it looked too shopped too. But i've only done two things to it. Process then the layering with the B&W... but the B&W did have a bit of adjustment to it.

The dreamy look is more from the heavy rain today. You're in Sydney, you know what i'm talking about.

Here's the original.

i feel like a fag now after looking at the f stop used and exposure time

knowing it's not a shitty shoop makes the photo a lot better actually

good stuff

Nice. Looks like something out of Myst. I have an urge to try to figure out the puzzle to make the mist go away so I can go out on that pier. I'm sure there's a switch or a button somewhere that turns on the fans...

If you are using that kind of aperture you should get some ND filters.
>> Jeremo !iKGMr61IHM
>>112884

I did. There's no other way i could get a 45 second exposure in the middle of the day. Even with f/22

I like the original better. But I agree it needs a square crop although I would have cropped it differently so the gates wasn't directly in the middle.
>> Jeremo !iKGMr61IHM
>>113105

how woould you have cropped it? and fail for my own fail sage... bah.

I like the deepened contrast of this much more. But the cliff heads in the background i would have liked to have stayed clear... maybe i'll do a re-edit.

Nothing drastic. Something like this just to get the gate into one of the thirds both horizontally and vertically (lolo rule of thrids). It might be too radical of a crop because you're not working with much resolution. If you shot a horizontal frame it would help a lot.

I like the muted tones and colors of the original. I think it makes for a more homogeneous image. Maybe even de-sat it by a few points.

Seconded. I prefer the shopped square crop.

Fair enough. Majority rules.
