Indoor Sports Macheath !8b4g0BkNZg
File dump incoming.

I watched McEnroe vs Courier today. First time shooting indoor sports. Sat in the cheap seats so I spent the day on the telephoto end. Any suggestions to make them better next time?

McEnroe being unintentionally lulzy. Overexuberant celebration leads to him knocking over his chair and falling into the barricade.

This one is really good. Did you try a black and white version? It seems like that would suit it.

I agree, friggen awesome shot man.
You did great for your first indoor shoot.

But yea, a better seat next time. That's the only thing that's holding you back
Your timing and framing is good.

I actually was trying to see if McEnroe was foot faulting (it looks like he is in the picture, but could be an illusion?), but I kept it because it looked nice to me. I guess I got lucky, because I was just using 3 shot bursts and hoping at least one would turn out well. I took 88 shots in the ~2 hours (I didn't want to spend the entire match watching from behind the viewfinder). I really wish I could have gotten good pictures of the groundstrokes, and the times McEnroe threw his racquet.

I'll fool around with post processing some other time, I'm out of disk space on this laptop. But thank you for the compliments.

>foot faulting

Had to look up what this is (I don't know tennis) but I'm pretty sure he is. Look at the shadows.

Would it affect the outcome of the match?

It might, or it might not. When serving, you have two chances to serve without faulting (either failing to get the ball into the opposite box, or foot faulting like in this case). If you get two faults in a row, you lose the point.

It's a small penalty that might not matter in the long run, but on your serve, you really don't want to be giving free points to your opponent.

Foot faults are a relatively rare occurrence. In the 15 years I've watched tennis on TV, I can only remember seeing it called twice. So I guess the umpire was just not paying attention to it. I was hoping he'd call it because I wanted to see McEnroe go ballistic for more entertainment.

bump for the morning crowd...

I think tennis is an easy sport to start with, I'm guessing basketball will be a little bit more difficult to photograph well.

hahha, that's awesome.

Seriously though- for indoors? Fantastic job. I like them.

I don't really know shit about tennis (cept it's like giant-sized ping-pong), but I like these, especially the last two.
