I need a book that gives a crash course on photography. I want to learn how to do manual focusing and such. I know a bit, but mostly it comes from playing around with an old crappy P&S.Pic related
Lucky for you my mom is a librarian. I brought her attention to your questions and she instructed me to tell you that at libraries they do infact keep books on the subject of photography. She told me that they may infact have exactly what you're looking for at your local branch. I'd check it out!
Obviously, if I'm looking here, I want one that does a good job of teaching. There are plenty of tutorials on the internet but I prefer something that isn't unnecessarily complex and obtuse.
Crash course means borrowing a dSLR and fiddling with the settings and taking photos until you know what the fuck you're fiddling with.
Well I just bought an XTi and I want to start taking pictures with it but using AF and such would seem like a waste.
