This one's blind in one eye. She was born that way.

This picture has so much potential, even as it's currently shot. Slim's right about getting closer, but you can fake it, as I'm sure this is a multimegapixel shot. Crop it closer to the horses, and crank the saturation up a bit. Those greens are just too flat and dry, as are the horses. Everything feels washed out. Adjust the saturation and contrast until the picture really "pops". Post your results! I really would like to see it.

How does a pony know what photoshops is? :)

not bad. i'd like it to be crisper but i'm not gonna complain about an improvement.

Much improved! A little bit of photoshop goes a long way. One thing you have to remember when working with digital files is that cameras are configured to give you a very neutral image by default. A neutral image is good because it allows you the most latitude in changing it in post processing-- however, it also basically REQUIRES post processing because the initial result is so dry and bland. A digital camera can produce Velvia or Kodachrome-like images, but they require a little bit of work. I'm learning more about this every day.

On second glance, I see this is from a film scanner. Heh. Lol. Same deal almost applies with scanners that I've used, too. I always tweak contrast and balance for the scanners I use, because they give you such boring images.

In these the horses are too dark and the ground is too light. Nothing you can't fix with levels in photoshop though, I'm sure.
Good photos. =)
