What camera does Dexter use? I saw a nikon strap in the last episode, but it looks like some medium format camera. Do you know, /p/?

I know, pic is small and all.

I'm just curious. It looks badass.
>> anonymous
It's probably a Nikon D2X. But I could totally be wrong. It looks like one of those big-ass kinds. Not like the regular D40-D200 style.

DEXTER FTW.

All I can say it's Olympus.

But the real question is, what camera does Veronica Mars use?!
>> anonymous
Definitely Nikon Tard. Watch the show

wtf, olympus doesn't make cameras that large

...nikon for Veronica Mars

protip: the police probably has more than 1 camera

I would've thought they'd stick to one company to keep licensing fees down.

oh fuck I had that camera

sold it because it sucked.

protip: most police districts still use film cameras, as the level of detail from one 35mm film frame still exceeds that of any DSLR currently available (although the 1Ds Mark III comes close).

>>84260
I'm guessing a lot of them still use film for evidenciary reasons, too. I.e., it's harder to shop a negative for the purposes of evidence tampering.

>>84257
You'd think a real police department would have one kind of camera to keep system cost down. Makes perfect sense for a TV police department to have a bunch of different makes of cameras to keep product-placement fees up.

why wouldn't they use 120 then? two birds with one stone.

i'm not buying your resolution argument/troll.

>>84267's makes perfect sense, though.

>the level of detail from one 35mm film frame still exceeds that of any DSLR currently available (although the 1Ds Mark III comes close).

Wrong. Full-frame digital beats even medium format.

>I'm guessing a lot of them still use film for evidenciary reasons, too. I.e., it's harder to shop a negative for the purposes of evidence tampering.

Right. I've heard that there are some courts that won't even admit a digital photograph as evidence.

well, i'm convinced!

RAW files can be introduced as evidence as they are essentially a digital negative.
>> Anonymous
>>84339
What the hell? RAWs are even easier to edit than JPEGs because you don't get the telltale compression artifacts from the second save.

Canon does have a checksum widget for law enforcement use though that will theoretically guarantee that the picture is identical to the one that came out of the camera.

People have faked photos and film. It's not impossible either. Digital just makes it easier.

Yep. Note I said "harder to shop a negative" not "impossible to shop a negative".
