the school paper or a zine?
>> slim !yE5LOsLjxQ

somewhere in between. local publication reaching 3 towns. its readership is indeterminate due to the fat that there is no subscription fee and you get one whether you like it or not.
>> Anonymous
you should photoshop a subliminal penis into the background
>> Anonymous
Lots of empty space on both of them. Do some cropping and they should be fine.
>> Macheath !8b4g0BkNZg
I agree with anon about the empty space. The second one looks like the focus was a bit off... Also make sure to correct the tilt.
>> slim !yE5LOsLjxQ
my freelance coordinator does all the cropping/shopping. i send him what comes out of the SD as is.

The guy playing tennis isn't in focus. I suggest you use a longer lens and frame tighter, as said earlier.

And here's one I prepared earlier...

80-200 f/2.8 + Sports = Great success!

Agreed, the 80-200 is a gret lens, NOW the 80-200 af-s is the best of all the 80-200's. Also with the af-s you can stick a TC14e on there and make it a 112-280 f4, with No noticeable degredation of image quality!

If you noticed his EXIF it shows that he's not even using a SLR.

You fucktard, the D50 is an SLR, and the 80-200 f/2.8 is a goddamn incredible Nikon lens. One of the best.

Slim is using an S3IS, not a d50. That's what he's referring to.
>> Anonymous
>>66337
im pretty sure he's referring to the suggestion of using a longer lens is useless to slim because he uses an S3IS
>> Choamsky
>>66332

I did fail to notice that. I can't imagine how you could possibly do "action" shots on a point and shoot. But hey, if it's working for him, then stick with it.

I mostly enter threads based on the last 3 posts, So no I didn't notice.

Sports without a DSLR would be a major pain in the ass, I used to take snowboarding pics with a point and shoot and mastering the lag was a bitch even after the manual focus was set...
>> Anonymous
Custom white balance, manual focus, manual shutter speed, manual aperture, no lag.
Action shots aren't a problem with a p&s, as long as you know what you're doing.
>> Anonymous
>>66389
but by the time the image is on-screen and saving to flash memory, you've missed X opportunities for even better shots

You know, they used to actually manually wind the film. And people managed just fine. Shot-to-shot time isn't a huge issue.

you take shots for the paper with a cheap point and shoot\\ dream on homeslice

and people used to draw sketches instead of taking photos... your point is?
