whats the best way to photograph a computer screen /p/?

I use a telezoom with a focal length in the range with the least distortion. Also, especially if it's a CRT monitor, I prefer the lowest ISO settings with a small aperture. The long exposure time makes the brightness more uniform.
And, of course, a tripod.

I have found I get odd things happen when taking photos of LCD H-IPS panels. If it's in focus it causes moiring. I wanted to shoot some figurines agianst an LCD backdrop. Any idea how without the LCD panel moiring?

If your going to be shooting something in front of the screen focus on the object, the slight distance should be enough to not see the moire effect.

If not try rotating the camera or a smaller aperture.
