It's a slow board. It takes more than five minutes for most people to ever see or reply.

it's a slow moving board. Be patient.

It's a neat picture. I think I'd like it better if it was cropped to exclude the red on the right so that it wouldn't take anything away from the main focus in the middle, there.

CONT. I think it would have been better as a tighter shot. The centrepiece is what matters and that dead space doesn't work for me.

I like the melt of red that breaks the right border. Also the ants in the fore depth are are cool, leaves to imagine. What I don't like is offset of so much white in the sky, maybe a slight downward angle on the shot would bring more of a balance.

Having the camera down on the ground is a nice angle but you can't fill the from up with your field of focus. Raise the camera up a little and show more of the scene in focus. Either that or get a dedicated macro lens (I know that isn't really an option though).

blurry space at the bottom is shit
>> Anonymous
>>110821
the outer boundaries of the image are supposed to be blurry, it it were all in focus the center bit would be less pronounced.

>>110820
it's lower than "ground" level, actually. This was taken atop a white porch railing. The blurry lower portion is the vertical edge of the flat top.

could replace it with TRUE HDR

doesn't matter what the intension is, this is a basic art situation. take your art, quadron it into 4 sections and look at the natural balance of the photo. Maybe 3/8 of the photo is sky and its really offest and reaaly white. 2 of the main negatives when trying to decide on an "artistic" shot. If its a shit shot then OP wouldnt post and ask for opinions on it.

Original version of the picture. I liked the brightness of the sky, personally.

I would crop it more like this. It still just doesn't have enough size and impact though.

so, /p/, which version do you prefer?
>> Anonymous
i personally prefer the last cropped one.
>> Anonymous
I like the OP the best, easily. The crops ruin it, but the OP's use of empty space and the location of the two red things is awesome.

I agree, slick photo, OP.
