selective desaturation is instant win, fuck yeah. seriously though, i think it would have looked better if it were tighter on the kid. the lighting looks like it would have been good, but there was hair in her face, which you couldnt do anything about. also, lose the selective desaturation.

Selective coloring is totally unnecessary 39,999 times out of 40,000. The girl is already a focal point of the image. No need to slap your audience in the face with the obvious fact of it. Selective coloring assumes your audience is too fucking stupid to figure out what your photograph is about and is also a cheap ass way of emphasizing it. It's not that it's been done before, it's that it should have never been done in the first place.
