How do you like your D70 IR? Got any links to some of the pics? I have a D1 IR and I kinda want to get a different body for IR purposes.

Do you own all those cameras right now?

40D, at 12,430 as of today's outing.

I also own an XTi that was somewhere north of 60,000 when I loaned it out to the person it's loaned out to. Shutter on the XTi is rated for 50,000 exposures.

Canon Elan 7 27 rolls in about 6 weeks. This shit is expensive. I've just about completely stopped shooting digital, once I have enough of a backlog of undeveloped film for 2 weeks of school I'm selling my Canon for an F100.

How do i see how many my 400D fired?
>> Vincent !!8LCSE0Zp1mL
D70 for ir is good, though the lcd is a bit small and difficult to check focus with.
photocross.smugmug.com theres lots of pics on there.

also yes i own all of them right now. The D50 is too awesome and versatile to sell.

I don't think there's an easy way. I always just counted up the number of times the filenames had rolled back to img_0001

My 30D creates folders named 101, 102, 103... to the card with each taking 9999 photos or so that way it's easy to count. Unless you use your CF card on another camera.

In general, lots of photos taken is a necessary but not sufficient condition for being a great photographer.

In other words, if you don't take lots of photos you probably won't end up taking great photos. Taking lots of photos is no guarantee, however.

Oh, and due to messed up multi-camera, multiple memory cards, I'm not sure how many pictures I've taken.

In my summer (May->Now) gallery in LR though, I have 3190 shots from my XSi. Take a few off for doubles (edits), add some for erased shots and it's probably something like 3500 shots.

Thanks, I love having the IR body on me, its really versatile when the lighting is bad (during the day)
I got the D70 already converted for a steal ($400)
And it only had 600 shutter actuation's on it lol!
>> Project !dashI8UpO.
D80, just hit 2700 something. Only a month old, geez. And how can I has IR converted?
>> Vincent !!8LCSE0Zp1mL
>>251261
Involves taking out the filter in front of the sensor (Which blocks IR light) and replacing it with one that blocks only visible light.

In your case if you want to try out IR photography, just buy a Hoya R72 filter, and set up on a tripod (shutter speeds will be very long because of the filter that blocks IR still on your camera)

www.lifepixel.com will give you an idea (And scare you off with the price lol)

D300 approx 4000 or so.

Anyone having any problems with the D300? the main problem i have is that when i want to just bust it out and shoot when i cant set it up manually the automatic settings fucking fail. Ive gone through every setting and parameter and cant get near a good "automatic" mode set up.

Try
P (program mode)
MAtrix Metering, +- 0.3 (whatever the situation calls for)
af-s focus
auto iso, max of 1600

Its not really a camera thats meant to be just whipped out on auto though...

yeah tried something like that and some others. i dont really use it in this way but its just one of those thinks that would be good "in case".

>>251055
awesome IR indeed. the colours in it, did you shop those?
>> Vincent !!8LCSE0Zp1mL
>>251285
Except for the one red brick road one nope.

All color is either a result of No color editing, or a Channel swap of the red and blue channels (a common IR edit, to make it look more natural (Skies actually become blue!))
The few purple looking skies was the result of an innacurate WB.

I'm pretty sure that the original Digital Rebel doesn't record how many shots you've taken, because I can't find it in the EXIF anywhere (even in the custom functions). If I had to guess I'd say it would be around 30k.

Oh man, 70-200VR 2.8? fapping furiously.

How do you like the D3, by the way? The ones I played with seemed really nice, but there wasn't much that made me wish I had one instead of my D2X.

Anyway, the aforementioned D2X. Picked it up last month, somewhere around 18,000 on the clock. Pretty light use, my bet is that some loaded amateur owned it.
