Yes. I wish I'd taken it.

Also, I know I should have lowered the ISO, but I'm still learning the camera.

f/1.8? what lens are you using?

It is very, very nice. I like it alot. Keep up the good work.

probably the 50mm f/1.8

bump for epicwin!

the grainy-ness actually seems to work well for the photo. good shot!

>>78183
It's nicely composed, and it's a well done shot, but I'm not entirely sure I can see why you took it. Nothing really stands out about it, and nothing really says why you decided to hold on to this particular rusted gate and take a picture. I don't know, maybe I'm missing it, but it is a nicely done shot as I said.

I liked the shot - but I took it and "mixed it up a bit

wow the unadulterated pic was way better. the bleak colors went perfectly with the barbed wire and chain link fence

unaltered you mean?!?!

I also liked the unadultered pic way better. :)

Yeah, well actually it was just a snapshot but it turned out quite ok in my opinion, so I posted it here.

And yes, it was the 50mm 1,8 lens

Forgot to thank everyone, so, uh, thanks! I'm kinda new to photography (I've only had a dslr for about a month), so I wasn't expecting such feedback.

Saging because I know how irritating it is to see threads I've already read being bumped with no new interesting content.

Also, excuse my poor English.

Thanks guys!
The dog was putting his head through a hole in a wooden plank, painted white. I upped the contrast a bit, other than that, it's unedited.

What do you think of the composition? Is the plank too overexposed and the dog too underexposed?
I know I should have focused on the eyes instead of the nose, but that dog is quite fast so there was no time for adjusting the focus.

OP here.
Thanks for your feedback guys!

>>78512
Probably just luck.

>>78528
Done! (if I'm doing it right)

>>78615
Yeah, I know. Trying to learn the camera and how to make a decent composition before I do something like that.

By the way, here's three picture of some water filled balloons, shot with an air rifle!
Only editing was upping the contrast and putting the three pictures in next to each other.

This is what the "studio" look like.
A sheet, two 500W halogen lights and some planks.
The guy in the pic is my friend who shot the balloons.

It's a nice shot, but there's no real point in it. Maybe having a background (sky w/ clouds ?) would make it better.
>> Anonymous
>>78809
Its cool, but is more like an 'oh, well thats neat' kind of picture. theres no reason to go FUKKEN SAVED!

I'd go with the tripfag and say put a background in it. Maybe have someone getting hit with the balloon. Its good for lulz, and looks cool if you can get it right before it breaks.
>> Anonymous
Needs a background or needs to look clearer, up the brightness of the water without upping contrast
>> Anonymous
>>78809
Try using coloured water, or better still, paint. Same colour as the balloon it came from, and use multiple balloons. Perhaps the colours could mix.

Haha, yeah, I realized I could do that today.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

How about attaching some firecrackers to the balloons? Haven’t seen that done before – although might be hard to synch?

Could also move the flash to right behind the balloon. Play around with it – the exploding water balloon has been done to death, so you need something to make your shots stand out.

Already tried the firecrackers.
I don't use the flash, actually. It's just those two 500W halogen lights. But I'll try movin them around!
Thanks for your input

If you can get a shot of the balloon after the rubber has receded, but before the water moves and do something interesting with it, then you would have a nice shot.
>> Anonymous
Not really. It's pretty unoriginal.
