Hi /p/hriends. I have a couple of questions.

My girlfriend's mother used to be into photography when she was younger. She has a bunch of old lenses I think, and used a Canon. I don't know crap about photography, but I believe Canon's gone through two or three lens transitions on their cameras (one of you said something like that). I'll have to look more into which camera/lenses she had, but is there a specific series of lenses from their old lineup that still work with their DSLRs? I'm just curious if anything she has could be used with a Rebel XT. Sorry of I can't provide enough information for my question to really be answered. .

My other question is much simpler. . just wondering what your favorite photography books are. Any kind of books: ones you learned/practiced with, favorite photographers' collections, whatever. Thanks.

Photo is an old one of her kids.

Find out if the lenses are EF. If they are, no worries.

If they're old FD lenses, score an AE-1 off ebay and have fun.

Books that focus on 35mm film photography are better than their digital counterparts. A good portion of digital photography books should be taken out and probably be released as a photoshop book. Most basic photography books contain the same information. Try to avoid picture books (large prings, few words). In this case, a lot of words are a lot better with some pictures here and there to exemplify concepts such as bracketing. Local public library ftw.
