Camera Help.. Op
So..my ghetto ass Nikon N8008 just took a shit, what camera should I get. I have all Nikon glass, so Nikon is a must. Thinking either the F3, or the F5. F3 is $275, F5 is $450 I believe... Is the F5 worth the extra $? Sorry for the gear thread, I usually don't pollute /p/ with them.

I mean the F5 is sick, but the F3 will shoot the same pictures, it's film. Your glass is what matters, and your ability to expose correctly. The F5 would feel great I'm sure, but the F3 is just older tech... more durable, less electronic.

I say go for the cheaper one, and to feel better about it, get yoself a nice wideangle lens on the cheap. 24 2.8 or something. Fuck yeah.

all the f-series are about as durable as each other. it's just a matter of preference, and more importanly, what kind of lenses you have. in my opinion, the F5 has a better viewfinder, plus autofocus. it's fucking huge, though.

the F3 is smaller and has a split-prism focussing for manual lenses, but it won't accept modern G lenses and can't autofocus.

if your lenses are all manual (and i'm guessing most are, since you're an oldschoolfag and still shoot film), get an F3. otherwise, get an F5 (or consider an F100, which has more features than the F3, less than the F5, costs in between and weighs much less). .

The N8008 has a more informative VF (no ADR), better ergonomics and much better flash capabilities than the F3.->
N8008s for cheap, still a great camera
N90s for a little more, amazing camera if you don't mind staying with a single-point AF. Coming from the 8008, you'll feel right at home.
F4! Last of the bridge cameras. I actually prefer it to the F5 because you can use the (kind of hard to find in the states) "regular" batt pack and it's as slim as the N90. The F5, you're stuck with the chunkahunk.
F6 is just too much money, still, imo. Unless you need your camera's meter to jack you off...
