Nothing says professional like myspace and a username that sounds like "fetus".

No, seriously, hang around in pro photography work forums and learn from the people there.
>> Anonymous
if you want to "work in some music magazines"

you need to learn some real photography.

FFS.

LOL Smode and still flash has fired! jajajajajajajajaa u suck, truly.

How original, fag.

"If my shame spills our worth across this floor
Then tonight, goodnight... I'm burning Star IV
Only I don't even think of you
No I don't wanna think of you anymore
Goodnight, tonight, goodbye
Goodnight, tonight, goodbye"

Coheed and Cambria.

Try being original. Or is that too hard?

First step would be finding out some music magazines you'd like to be in, then contacting them. It's not rocket science.

the Fill flash is a bit too strong i feel, and it does wash out the stage lighting alot.

Of course if the stage lighting was shit then it's probably a better move, but preserving as much stage lighting as possible also preserves the atmosphere of the night.

no your a fucking twat, not this photographer, just because your either ugly, you have a dick where your forehead should be, or your wife also has a dick, i have never been on such a fucking rediculous website full of such arrogant twats like most of the people above, sort your fucking lives out rather than going round critizing someone that is actually trying to get somewhere in life. For fucks sake, is the concept of "You're" really all that difficult?

Also, it's "ridiculous" and "criticizing". And I wouldn't count asking /p/ for advice as trying to get on in life.

why f3.5, why dont you get a better prime lens and not use flash, like the 50mm 1.4???
>> Jeremo !iKGMr61IHM

here's what you can do with stage lighting plus a bit of split toning.

Much better than a washed out fill flash, if it was turned down a notch... it could be a stylistic choice.
>> Anonymous
>>99680
you'll notice he had it in shutter priority anyway, so even if he were to use a fast lens, it wouldnt have done anything.
>> Anonymous
>>99683
Excellent, can you explain what /how to do split toning? Or should i just fucking google it.

Also, great picture....

haha, i'm not the type to tell people to google. Best program i've found for split toning is Adobe Lightroom. I bought 1.2 on a student discount so that was wicked.

You don't need it, you can do it in CS 2... but for the life of me i have no idea how.

In LR however, it's just simple as deciding what colours your highlights and shadows should be.

Someone else here actually introduced me to the idea of it... i can't remember who but they posted some AWESOME band photos with splits... i think it was blue for highlights and yellow for shadows... i just mess around till i get something i like.

It's a little more catchy than your average black and white.
>> Jeremo !iKGMr61IHM

>>99692

Yo, as you can see the split toning doesn't necessarily make the photo better, i just find it more catchy and it's a stylistic choice that becomes you.

Could it have been eku? Since he uses split toning for quite a few of his gig shots, which are usually pretty awesome.

The split tone version doesn't really catch me, but personally I like this one a lot better.
>> eku !8cibvLQ11s
>>99716

Yeah, might have been me. Haven't seen anyone else on this board to use it.

OP, you really should learn to take some better photos.
Some pointers would be to ditch the fill flash. It's just shit. First photo would have probably rocked like hell without the flash. The "lost" light could have been gained by using ISO1600. It's not even hard to push up to ISO3200 without ditching colors. In b/w, maybe 4 steps are the max I've pushed a photo, and still got usefull results.
And I see you don't shoot RAW. Better learn it. Post processing is in very important role to get great gig photos. (Unless it's some open air concert in the middle of the day.)

>>99730
You know, I'm quite regular here on /p/, posting my split toned gig photos. What do you like to know more?
