Do they always turn red like that? Is there a way to restore the color in photoshop?

thats a shot directly from the camera, its red because the R72 filter (and others) are a deep deep red. Just convert to gray scale in PS and hey presto! IR image.

Quick question:
How do people make the leaves and grass in IR photos so white, without overexposing everything else? Is that done in post?

or use the channel mixer and swap channels etc.

Fill the frame with grass, leaves, etc with your filter fitted and set custom WB on that. Take a photo then (optionally) go swap the red and blue channels in post.

So the wb is what makes the grass so white? Thanks a lot!
