/b/ was no help. ACDSee or Picasa? Which one and wry?

I just want a good tagging system (like Danbooru, I want to be able to use multiple tags in searches) and a fairly quick database. I won't be using the image editing features. I'd rather use PS.

I think ACDSee probably is better at tags than Picasa. Picasa is nice for searching for images on your computer and updating new additions as well as fairly quick optimizing of levels. But as far as tagging goes, it leaves more to be desired.

I use a python script to rename all my files to md5 hash, then I do a basic folder sort in acdsee and then use the tagging system in PixFiler. Though I'll probably give up trying to tag images and just leave it at the folder sorts.

PixFiler allows you to create categories as well as keywords for each picture - so you can search the keywords (if you remember them since it doesn't say - here's a list of key words) or use the category dropdown menu

I personally recomend Adobe Lightroom. It has some of the best organizational tools I've ever used, such as: tags, folders/categories, ratings (0 to 5), and much more. it can also sort by ISO speed and other odd things like that too.

Right, and Lightroom is 300 bucks. I know that few people on the internet actually pay for software, but still.
