/p/ what is your thoughts on the EOS-1V?

Looks pretty awesome, it's one way to still get a very professional camera at lower cost.

Awesome, but you can save money and get an EOS-3.

Get it if you want a professional film SLR similar to your Canon digital equipment.

If you just want a professional film SLR, get a used Nikon F2 (or F3, if you don't mind having to use batteries), or an Olympus OM-1 or Pentax LX, if you don't mind losing full coverage.

Lol no. You lose 100% coverage and it has eye controlled-autofocus. In other words, you look an object in another part of the frame from your focus point, it switches. Fail.

at the same price, $1,500, you could get a 40D and one lens and shoot 5,395 pictures before you even load film in that thing

Age has nothing to do with a camera being professional or not. It's a stupid marketing term, since amateurs and fuck-ups use them, too, and professionals use lesser bodies, but it denotes a camera meeting a certain standard of reliability and ruggedness, things like interchangeable prisms, etc, and (today) with a full coverage finder.

Age of a camera makes no fucking difference at all, and I wish people would get that out of their heads. This is the first time I've seen someone silly enough to knock a modern film camera for being old, though.

And lastly, again, one is digital, one is film. I strongly prefer digital, I'm going to guess you do, too, other people prefer film. They're not interchangeable, anyway.

Strike the first sentence of this; it's out of context and I have no clue why it's there.

STFU and to take pictures

>> But the 40D is in no way comparable to an EOS-1V. One's a professional camera and the other's not.

The EOS 1v is a hell of a good camera. So is the EOS 3. Shit, Canon made a lot of really awesome 35mm slr bodies. You can get these pretty cheap used, too. Check the used section at keh.com

Oh, and
