Haha good job, You use a snoot?

Nah, I'm too cheap for that. I just set the flash to the narrowest zoom position and held it right above the totoro.
>> Anonymous
holy shit magic

how did you do that? Especially the second one
>> Anonymous
>>101481
Second one goes like that
1) zoom in and focus on the totoro
2) set shutter speed to several seconds
3) push shutter release (shutter opens)
4) flash on the totoro
5) zoom out, rotate the camera a bit
6) flash on the totoro
7) rotate the camera a bit to the other side
8) flash on the totoro
9) (shutter closes)

A parfocal (or near-parfocal) lens is needed so the focus isn't fucked when zooming out.

It's the same Totoro?

Oh man, you blew my mind
>> Anonymous
>>101487
It is. Look at the whiskers, they stick out exactly the same on all three.

That was pretty awesome.

Granted, I might've as well taken 3 separate shots and blended them via Lighten in Photoshop... XD

I'm of the opinion that photographic work done photographically rather than with photoshop is moar awesome.

And if you'd done it with photoshop, you probably wouldn't have gotten the cool eerie ghostly effect that you did.

(Not that that's impossible to do in Photoshop by any stretch, just that you probably would have just plunked 'em down as if there were three of them)

lol.

<-- Two of these totoros were shot at once, and one was shooped in. Can you tell by the pixels which one?
