Hipster garbage. Anyone considering it should put the money towards something they can actully use.

Shitty in this case = not of the greatest quality, dated by more than a decade

SHIIIT YEAH YOU RIGHT MOFUCKAAHHHH

although, i gotta say that kids who get into photography through lomo and holga cameras are a half-step ahead of the folks who get into photography because they like to read spec charts for bottom-end dslrs. too lazy to explain why, though.

Agreed, but still, pretty fucking obnoxious.

Shitty image quality != art. Content = art. But a lot of these kids confuse the two. The terrible lenses and bizarre x-pro stuff often makes them think that there's actual content in their photos because they look "different". Meh.

also agreed. in fact, i would dare say that most folks these days get into lomo and holga photography because they're obsessed with gear, too.

also, we have to stop calling these kids "kids". i'm only 22, and you're younger than i am (right?). how about "cocksuckers"?

Right. Toy cameras can produce VERY interesting and good photos, but the photographer has to be capable of that first.

I got into photography through a Holga. Looking back on it now, the stuff I thought was amazing then is just poor now. I need to get back to my Holga and try some new shots since my skill has improved expontentially since then.

That's with every camera. A good photographer can make good pictures with everything. 150968 is completely right on this subject, and you've only proven to be a cocksucker, or kid. Depending on what the definitive name will be.

That was my point, Albert. I was agreeing with Heavyweather, not disagreeing or arguing.

I'm not OP, I'm

So not really sure what makes me a "cocksucker" or "kid" to you, but I'll definately call you the former for being such a prick.

OP HERE
FUCK YOU /P/ YOU FAGS NEED TO LEARN ABOUT REAL PHOTOGRAPHY. MEDIUM FORMAT IS THE FUTURE THIS DIGITAL CRAP IS BORING AND EASY A CAVEMAN CAN DO IT

BUUUUUUY INTOOOO LLLLSSSSIIII!
>> heavyweather !4AIf7oXcbA
Cocksuckers is better, agreed.

I actually got into digital photography first, then found out about lomography while looking up photoshop tutorials. To me it's just a breath of fresh air, and only Urban Outfitters made it hipster, just like everything they associate with there.

>>151024
No, LSI marketing it made it hipster. UO can't be blamed just because they sell it.
>> Anonymous
UO can be blamed for many of the worlds strife.

>>151037
yeah, if you're a bigger douche than the "hipsters"

I don't get what the obsessive hate for so-called hipsters comes from here, anyway. Seems kind of random, but /p/ and /fa/ are both crawling with people that yell about hipsters.
>> heavyweather !4AIf7oXcbA
>>151037
I don't hate UO because of what they sell, I hate it because of how much they charge. It's like fucking crack, walking into that place. :(

yeah, tell me about it. I love a lot of their products (not their camera stuff, but apparel and decor) but I swear...it makes me sad because I can barely afford anything. They sell some adorable tops but I really can't afford to buy much clothing there. Being a student sucks so bad. =[

I feel you, brother.

Lomography is fucking gay.
>> angrylittleboy !wrJcGUHncE
I wouldn't mind using a "Lomo" camera, but going with the lomo philosophy... ehhh...
>> Anonymous
i got my lomo ages ago for €3 on ebay. thought it was fun. and it still is every now and then. nothing wrong with that. fuck the so called "lomo-philosophy" and "hipsters".

it's just fun to use. period.
>> Butterfly !xlgRMYva6s
I met someone using a Holga with a polaroid back, she got some ok images out but the polaroid was so slow most of them were very underexposed!

I'm actually thinking about getting a cheap little lomo camera from amazon to dick around with. I've already got a nice P/S (8MP Sony Cybershot), a film SLR (Canon EOS Rebel), and I'm getting a DSLR (Canon 30D or 40D) in the near future.

I figure spending 30 bucks on a new camera that'll at least allow me to experiment with different crap ain't that bad of a deal.

You'd be surprised. It's got fairly decent image quality for a P/S.

Cliche picture related.
