Sports Camera - Kendo Anonymous
Okay, so here's the question. I want to get a good camera for taking shots of Kendo tournaments... which, I imagine, is similar to most sports cameras except that it doesn't need as ridiculously long a field of view (a Kendo court is 9m wide, and a spectator might be another 10m from that, so a camera that can accurately nail a good picture of 2 people from about 20~25m is tonnes). Has to have an extremely high shutter speed (duh). The lighting will always be a bit of an issue, since it's indoor gym lighting... but I suspect that's not a crippling issue.

Can anyone recommend to me what I should be looking for? Something digital, ideally. Other than that, sky's the limit.

*low whistle*

$3,000 for the camera, before lenses. Okay... well, that's not as bad as I was expecting. Thank god Christmas is coming.

I can't find the Sony 300/2.8, though... is it called something else?

are you gullible or just loaded?

D90, or 40D, 70-200 f2.8
and external strobes / flash

I've had good results with the 85mm f1.8 at around 5m away, however in the Gym's I was shooting the Karate tournament in, I still needed the flash

OP needs to find out of strobes are allowed before spending munny on them
