Buying a used lens Anonymous
Friday I may have the opportunity to look at a used Canon 24-70mm EF f/2.8L for a pretty good price.

What should I look for and what sort of testing can I do on the spot to see if it is in proper shape?

I'll likely have an opportunity to play with it for a few, but I don't want to waste the sellers time goofing around.

Take test shots at different focal lengths and apertures. Test the autofocus speed and reliability. Take a memory card and/or camera too so you can see the results. Look it over for marks or mechanical problems. Look through the elements with the caps off.

If you're in the US, consider buying from keh.com. Their grading is conservative (it's usually better than described), and both their warranty and customer service are great.

Don't buy from there!!!! I bought a lens from there and ever since I have not been able to get an erection. The connection is clear. It is obvious that keh.com are to blame.

No, because I bought the lens to take pictures of my erect penis but now that I cannot get an erection my dreams are destroyed and my money is wasted.

Remember the hard-earned lessons, my friend. Do not make my mistakes. Life your life to the fullest, take pictures of your engorged genitals, share the work and admire yourself. Never buy from keh.com though or you will be doomed to live the rest of your life filled with regret, like me.

My life is a shadow and I await the noon time to end my suffering.

That's a pretty nice lens. Shake it a bit to listen for anything rattling. Look at it very carefully. Ask if there's been a protective filter over the front, and how/if it's been cleaned. Make sure the focus and zoom rings move without grinding or noise. Test the autofocus speed. And, of course, take photos and see how the come out.

Good news is that the L lenses are very robust. The lens element quality remains the same and the construction quality is very high, too. I think that lens goes for about $1100 new, so don't be surprised if the asking price is around $900.

I bought my genitalia from KEH and after two months of ownership, my genitals have ballooned to over three times their original size. Thanks, KEH! You saved my marriage!

Thank you>>112000as well as everyone else who talked about the lens and not their balls.

I looked at and purchased the lens today for a great price. It was a fantastic shape with perfect optics and no loose/sliding parts.

Thanks for all the pointers.
