Why do you need 300 mm focal length for a stationary object? Since you seem to have a backdrop and lighting, I'd think there's much more interesting to do than try for extreme flatness in your photo.

Think it works pretty good, and it's 280mm hehe

Do this in color on a curved shoot table with a softbox above and a gelled flash below the table, meter your main lights at a stop or two difference... then it will look more like win.

Enjoy your miscalibrated monitor.

The photo is not really breathtaking, however. Although such short DoF fallout is strange for f/5.6 at 280 mm.

uh you don't expect much DoF at all at 280mm. Or am I misunderstanding you?

Next, the photo seems slightly oversharpened. I see the beginnings of sharpening halos. I also doubt you need to stick a 1.4x on a 200mm to take a still life. For heavens sake get a macro or a nice tele prime if this is your favorite kind of shot. Framing is an issue in my opinion. It's neither here nor there. Either have more space and compose the model in a more interesting way, or get closer and fill the frame.

this guy speaks the truth. moar lighting. and moar variety with your lighting too.
