Wow, /p/ sure is a bunch of lazy richfags. Here's a Canon FD 50mm f/1.4 taken with the D80 and cardboard softbox. I also use this lens for macro work with my P&S.

not entirely cardboard. Cardboard, foil, and wires.

See pic. I used a picture frame that I had out for another project instead of cardboard, but just replace the picture frame with a piece of cardboard the same size/shape.

To use it, just put it between what ever you are shooting and the gun. When you shoot through it, the pieces of foil will temporarily contact each other and trigger the flash. I hooked mine up to my Cactus transmitter, but it works the same way regardless.

The downsides are, you need to take the pictures in very low-light, and it misfires occasionally. That and you usually have to replace the foil after each shot. If you have the know-how, a sound trigger or something would probably work out a lot better.

I can't wait until you fry your DSLR by doing this, OP.

You know DX has cheap ass hotshoe extension cords, right?

WTF?
How is this a wireless flash trigger?
If you had to already have a wireless flash trigger to get it to work?
>> sage !i/euDJmWr2

>>238502
Who said anything about wireless? It's a high speed trigger for stuff like this (not mine)
>> sage !i/euDJmWr2
>>238502
Oh, and you don't have to have a wireless trigger to make it work, if you know how hotshoes work you should know that. Instead of running the wires all the way to my flash, I just ran them to my trigger and let it fire the flash.

LOL... made this diffuser for my built in flash..

it actually works pretty damn well.

I like seeing photo DIY, but I'm having a hard time seeing what the use/function of this is.

OP?

Off camera flash.

>>238305

This is for a trigger then? OK, I think I get now. When OP says "gun" he means actual projectiles making a contact to trigger it.

Yes?

Sorry, I meant this post

I could use that to trigger my Pocket Wizards.

Nice idea.

The original idea was flash diffuser for the popup flash out of a fujifilm canister. Took it farther with this thing! I put some paper in there though to make it more opaque.

Hahaha I lol'd
Actually I'm a bit worse.. I once stuck a cut up A4 piece of paper on my flash and tied it with an elastic band. :(
>> Anonymous
>>239001
I wasn't expecting to use flash, since I don't 90% of the time, so without anything else I once shot with the pop-up diffused with a dollar bill held in front of it with my hand.

OP Isn't using high voltage. Stop being such a wuss.

lol did it work well?

>>239001
haha nice.. I tried using some elastic bands but I couldn't get it to hold well enough..
>> Anonymous
>>240047
Actually diffused it quite nicely. Better than full front flash. But I had to work the white balance in the RAW because it ended up giving my flash a warm tinge for some reason. I was also scared of the paper burning so I stopped for now until I find me a more opaque container.
>> sage !i/euDJmWr2
>>239001
I've done that more times than you could possibly imagine. Elastics = impossible to live without.

I used the sleeve of a white jacket I have to diffuse the pop-up flash one night when I needed it. ;_;

Nice. I'd to like to give something like that a shot.
