The ones with your girlfriend are good for model photography, I guess because she's you're lover and that comes across or whatever.

I don't like how you've framed a lot of these. Cutting off the edges of body parts or the hair or odd distractions and shadows. It pulls them down and I see that repeated throughout. I can see what you are aiming for, but it's not quite there yet, if you know what I mean.

Certainly a good sign of potential for better next time around you do it. I did like some of it. Look forward to seeing more.

I like the pose but dislike the shadows cast across her chest. She needs a better concealer for those moles/zits on her chin and near her mouth. Her lips look chapped too - a better gloss and color might help. Her choice of eye shadow is not flattering.

I'd definitely watch your shadows & lighting, to see if you can get it more consistent. Even a reflector will help, and make her eyes stand out! It can, but not if you pay attention to how low you are and just adjust it depending on the model. If a model has sharper, more "masculine" facial features then shooting from a lower angle can make them appear more masculine which may or may not be an effect you want. Going lower can be very flattering for some models just like going higher can be for others, it just depends on what features you're trying to bring out most about the person.

See; Internets Disease pictures, half of those scene-kids aren't nearly as "cute" in real life.

And here I am to critique another DC thread. What's up with the Ap. Priority and P modes man? I feel like some of these would be better if you did a better metering of your entire subject, highlights and shadow, instead of metering her at one spot and going with that, you know? I could be wrong though. Anyway, on to the usual, you know the drill...

>>205645
My only problem with this is how her hair runs off the frame. Might've been better with her left arm tucked in a little more and her body a little more to the side. But then you'd have to get rid of that chunk of wood so we're not just looking at it instead of that beautiful background.

>>205649
Great shot, you've lit and included in frame everything that needs to be seen. You also worked the angle the light's coming at her very well.

>>205650
Again, great with the angle of light. You found a way to make it show off her body, our subject of attention.

>>205652
Nice, getting a little more adventurous with the poses I see. As you warm up to your model, remember to try new things and get a little out there. Some won't work and will be incredibly goofy and you'll think, "WTF was I thinking, she probably thinks I'm weird now." But any pro model will expect (and honestly appreciate) to see you reach a little. And if she does think you're weird, it's okay because she'll forget about it when she sees some great shots.
>> Anonymous
(con't)
>>205655
Ah, new model. Great pose and lighting, but why are her toes suddenly dark? As you improve, you need to be mindful of your environment. Also, her left leg tells me she's stretching out, but her right makes it look like she's spreading open. Would've helped to get her other foot out from behind her. Also, a little space to include her fingers, and crop out that building to the right. Put the post she's leaning against right up to the frame.

>>205657
The complexion of these models make it tough to photograph them together. One's gonna get over or under exposed. I really feel that you should be closer than this, thirds isn't working for you here. If you wanted to include more of the background, then maybe try to include less of the buildings and other people on the left. Also, your sensor or lens is dirty.

>>205661
Great composition, the repetition's working for you, even in the little pock marks in the sand leading up to her. Just wish she had some feet. Also, lighting on the stomach's at a great angle, but her legs are a little overexposed. Cute face, probably should've lost the rings though. They distract me for some reason.

>>205666
AWESOME angle for the lighting on her stomach, face, tits, and bikini bottom. AWFUL lighting on her legs. Their pose looks too good to be hidden. And if you really wanna do some glamor photo retouching, clean up the little bit of fat on her upper arm. (inb4 that punkass who complains about retouching being too superficial.)

>>205674
Model's a little overexposed and too contrasty for me, but that's your style and it doesn't look bad. Nice action shot and you did a great job of including the lower part of the photo along with the horizon. The lighting on her face is great, the shadowed part of her face is just barely covered so that the tip of her eye catches the light to make it stand out (something I've always loved). The framing's just fine for me, but I can understand why someone would want it more centered. Also, your sensor's still dirty.

>>205682

Excellent shot, love how the wave adds so much depth to it! You really lucked out with this one, got it at the perfect moment!

>>205692
Excellent job with a tough lighting condition. Too bad she's a little sandy. The little initials carved in the lower right really are a great touch.

>>205699
Really great shot, pulling back away from your model and focusing more on the environment really worked for you here. Again, great lighting.

>>205702
Great shot again. Pose is a little bland and I'm distracted by the building on the shoreline, but it's solid. BUT. WTF happened to the right of her face!?! Did you try to clone out a boat and seriously failed or something? WTF?

Either get closer, or get this a little earlier than when it was taken. Also, fill the frame with the action.

>>205707
RESIZE. Also, not as interesting to me. A little bit of the action between posing maybe? The waterspray everywhere's neat.

>>205712
Great action shot again, but we're missing some of the one model's face. Once again, a great "between poses" shot. Love all the depth in here.

>>205728
Great fucking pose. But what are you doing with her hands there? Are you meaning to do that? Remember that in most photos with people like this, you can use the hands to do a lot. Cutting them out completely instead of actually using them for something is bad. Also, light's a little harsh.

>>205731
Alright, you've incorporated both of your models very well without over or under exposing either's complexion. Definitely a little more difficult. Definitely awesome posing from these two in this one. They're both aimed in at each other and really help the composition. Did you do much direction or was this mostly them? Great shot either way. Just wish we could get them a little more in the sun.

>>205751
BEAUTIFUL lighting, really the magic hour here. The angle it's hitting on her stomach and face is just great! You can tell this is later on because of how much looser this solo pose is. I feel like she could've done more with the face though (although that could be said for most of these). Maybe open her mouth a bit and put on a dreamy look in her eyes. I dunno. Oh well.

>>205779
GREAT portrait. This time you focused on the correct eye, lmao! I'm glad to see you took my advice from last time. The lighting is beautiful and the freckles really pop. Great work, DC.

>>205783
I really dig this framing. Great work with that. The way the light brings out that scratching above her really adds to the photo too. Otherwise, I don't have much to say about this one. Maybe I'm too drained from all the C&C I've been putting into this thread.

Overall, great job, and a real pro one at that. Are you working with actual models instead of just friends now? You're improving a lot and it shows. I'm proud to say that you're one of the few reasons why /p/ should exist. I think this board and its scathingly tough criticism has really helped you grow.

I <3 this Anon.

Thanks for the critique, for real. You're right about /p/ making me a better photographer. I'd still be vignetting if it wasn't for the wise words of Anon. Pic sadly related.

>> Haddock !!xREx2m9lgBs
Ok, you upgraded your models, but you still can't produce anything beyond a generic photo of a girl. There is nothing interesting about any of these.

they are so fucking ugly for models.

shit lighting and waste of a 1ds

in my opinion i miss your older photos.

these terribly suck

TBH, these are the only two I like. I just hate the cheesy poses and facial expressions in the other ones and how fake they feel. Then again, I don't really know much about model photography.

I don't really like your framing and the wide angle isn't that very flattering. Still good though.

that type of thing happens a lot when you photograph models. Just ignore it, take the good advice given in here, and continue on :)

the only one i like (a lot though)

the rest really bore me and are just not good enough, what makes a lot of them suck is how it's so very obvious you only stand. i told you the same thing on your last beach shoot, did you at least try different angles? as in.. not point straight forward while standing
>> Anonymous
>>206650
you are just disappointed that they do not have 2" suckable nipples in these shots. ask dc to get some special nipple shots too for comparison and maybe you will be okay with their less suckable nipples. he could use photoshop to give them nipple extentions. 3 or 4" ones that you could admire.
