hey /p/ quick question that has been asked her a million times but I've never looked at the answer too. My friend called in a favor yadda yadda.. wants me to photo his band at a bar. My only lenses are the nikkor 105 prime and the kit lens 18-70 that came with my D70... I'd love to use the 105 lol but I'd have to shoot in a crows nest to get the whole band in.

So any tips on how to properly shoot with this poor performing 18-70mm in a bar situation?

by the way, the kit lens will be plenty fine so long as you've got enough light.

thanks for the tips.. I did think about bringing some of my own lights... not the SB's but I have 3 of these little turds

and some pretty mobile contraptions to rig them to.. If they end up getting damaged no big loss.

Oh and to add to what I just said.. the only thing about these flashes is that it could turn disastrous if other people are taking photos.. these have like a 5second recycle time... though the people with their point and shoots may have the best lit photo's they've ever taken.

unless you're using dumb slaves this won't be a problem.

You could just use a flash...
