I think it was a decent first attempt, much more tasteful than the usual shit that HDR-kiddies do.... except for that very bright red on the guy's shirt, that part's too strong.

I cant say I find the photo appealing, but as far as the HDR technique goes, I think you did fine, just watch out for neon colors.

bloody hell, the fringe is terrible.
the composition isnt to bad tho.

There's some really strange and horrible oversaturation going on, and a satchelfull of CA, but at least it's not HDR EXTREEM like everyone else does.

This isn't ridiculous like many HDR images, but there are a few points.
- The image quality is overall poor. Seems a bit noisy (possibly due to some overprocessing).
- The colors in the middleground seem a bit too saturated
- The sky is clear despite people with umbrellas and a wet ground. While this is certainly possible, it is a tad bit distracting.
- The image is too large for most monitors currently. I usually scale it down to under 1200 pixels on the longest side before posting on /p/.

the pic is actually a random lense-test pic from yesterday...
i'm still messing around with photomatix, trying to figure out the saturation thing and to avoid noisy results

do you guys use another software?
are there any settings i should check in photomatix while tone mapping?

btw here's the jpg my xti produced
