Need To Get A Digital SLR Anonymous
Alright, so I've been using my Nikon N2000 for the better part of the last 5 years. My dad had had it forever and since I'm into photography and filmmaking he gave it to me as a gift, with all the lenses and accessories he had.

Now I've bought 2 lenses for it since then, but have decided that now is the time for me to get a Nikon digital SLR. I have a Canon digi, but I want to get the right Nikon DSLR so I can use all my lenses. Any help or suggestions?

nah, D3 body MSRP is $5k.

Remember...the D300 will meter through all your old lenses...the D80 WILL NOT. Thats a big issue!

Also, is that what the Focal Length Multiplier (1.5x) stands for by the way?

the D80 won't meter through AI-S lenses, but will meter through any AF lenses, so unless OP's lenses are AI-S or plans to get some, that isnt an issue.

yes

anything but D40/D40x (they lack the pin that allows the AF to work with older lenses)

See, this is the thing. If you're wanting to shoot tele, you'll be happy (I have a 300mm lens that on my digital rebel turns into a 480mm lens). Whereas if you're wanting to shoot wide-angle, you will not be happy with any of your current lenses; that 18mm super-wide on 35mm will be a plain old 28mm average wide on a D300/D80.
