/p/hotographers!so today i was at work and looking at the variety of lens's that we carry and noticed that we have an employee purchase program with tamron lenses. well i will be getting a 40D in a couple weeks (have had an XT for a couple years) and want to get a good walk around/ portrait lens that would work with all three of my cameras (xt, 40D, elan ii3 {film}) it's not mandatory for me to use it on my film guy but it would be nice. anyway getting to the point my purchase program goes as such17-50 f/2.8 XR Di-II $25918-200 f/3.6-6.3 XR DI-II $25618-250 f/3.5-6.3 XR DI-II [IF] macro $311now the macro on the 18-250 sounds the best but idk if i would use the macro feature as much as i think. The wide angle of the 17 @f/2.8 is also tempting but i can't decide. being that these are at such a good price i would love to get one of these (but never owning a tamron idk if it's worth it). So what seems to be /p opinion or experience's with these big boys?
The Tamron 17-50/2.8 is one of the best standard zooms for APS-C.None of those will work properly on film, if at all.
inb4 tizzou OMG I WANNA SUCK THE TAMRON 17-50 DOWN MY THROAT
That's pretty easy.1) Buy ten 17-50 or 18-250.2) Sell all of them at retail prices.3) Profit $1,300.4) Buy L lens.5) ???
OP here, limit's one purchase per. cust. per. year :-/ so unless their is a lens in the retail price range thats better for what i want lemme know. otherwise, gtfo
>>303480Get the 17-50 f/2.8Of those three lenses, if that's what you're limiting yourself to, its the only decent one.I haven't taken it off my 40D since I got it.I assume you work at bestbuy since that's the same price I paid for mine just before I quit working there in D.I.
OP, yea bby, sux i know, but not limiting to tamron but if i can sell it for retail and have $500 cash what would be the best bet than? but from what i've heard after the 17-50 the one of the L's is the next best. idk, fuck my life
fucking best buy
