Hey /p/

My friend is going to the Nové Hrady in the Czech republic during the next month.

Could somebody tell me if there is some kind of -rare- film he could find there that we can't easily obtain in America?

I've read people here mentioning Arista.EDU film here, which is just rebranded Fomapan. What else do you guys suggest he keeps an eye open for? Think Agfa slide film might be reasonably easy to obtain around there perhaps (but moderately difficult to find over here)?

See if he can get some scala.

Okay, I'll ask him for some of that. Anybody know if it's any easier to come by some Agfa in small town stores than it is in, say, anywhere in the US?

Arista.EDU film and paper makes me want to scream. It's terrible.

The main attraction in AristaEdu film is that it's "old type film" and that it's dirt cheap. I've read some about it being a pain in the ass in the darkroom and it not having as sharp a resolution as in newer "thin" films. I figured it wouldn't be too hard on my friend since he's on a tight budget.

So far I got the idea/suggestions of:

Agfa CT Precisa (if he happens to find it)
Agfa Scala
Arista Edu

What else? Ektachrome? I cant find that stuff around here.

are any of this "rare" films even as good as the popular ones?

OP here. I like the results people have gotten with Agfa CT, it's really nice imo, and it doesn't look like shit when crossprocessed either.

The Arista Edu / Fomapan shit, no, not as much, it's just that it's dirt cheap and for the inherent interest in something being rare.

TLDR: My interest in the CT is because of its results (real nice), the AristaEdu is shit but I have an interest in rare stuff.

Protip: You're doing it wrong.
Foma makes wonderful film, if of a more classic style.

Just cus it's not T/Delta/S grain doesn't mean it's terrible.

Their papers are some of the best on the market, far better than Ilford or Oriental.
