Looks like you got a good copy man =D

>>132479good photo
nice tonal range and half decent composition
The curve in the tracks is what makes the photo. Without it this wouldn't be as nearly as good.

>>132480
rather typical, seems more like an exercise in photo practices.
That being said, you did at least take a shot that combines a good cloud style and an interesting building while also being sharped and properly exposed. So it's a good example of a typical shot.

nothing is intentional in my pictures

i take 800 of them and come back home to see which one is good

Then take the next step.

Identify what <b>you</b> like in a final image and what <b>you</b> enjoy shooting and work from there. Yes you will lose some shots but at the same time you gain others and improve in your own style.

What he said. Follow that advice and you won't regret it.

what's going on blacknigger? you've been gone for a long time

just kidding man, you know i love you

natureguy kind of fails for trying to use forum tags

thank you for the advice but that's just not my style of shooting

i capture before i think and it's worked out for me so far

screw composition

Forum tags != HTML

well, in my defense, some forums use the <> tags

On that same subject, how % of your photos do you end up liking/using? Question for everyone.

I'm sitting pretty steady at 5-6%. I'm hoping I can up that more..
>> lolwut !SQwK.QJiOA
>>132551

spur of the moment shit, 10% is my keeper rate

if i'm in a controlled environment where i control everything, i'm probably at 50% but then again, you have to be an idiot to mess up pictures that way. the other 50% are camera errors, or at least i like to think they are

i was kidding, man, don't be hating

Kind of busy with other things recently. Glad to get back to the comfy niche on the internet to satisfy the geeky side of me and see what interesting photo threads have popped up. Just been reading up on some threads on the older pages to see what I missed too. Any good gossip or threads while I was gone?

>>132551

Depends on what I am doing, the subject and how I am shooting. If I am out for a walk shooting randomly (and with vague aims in mind) it drops way down low. If I am on a more focused assignment it goes up. Conditions of the shoot matter as well. Some subjects just need a lot of tries before you get something good.

If you have the right conditions or equipment for those conditions and you have a good focus on exactly what you want then I would bet that percentage for you would go up. Setting your mind on what you want beforehand and getting at least a rough mental image often does make a real difference.

Do what gets you the results you are happy with, I suppose.

On average, I shoot around 100 photos a day, ending up posting only 1-3. So that's 1%-3%

looks good, a bit brighter mabye?
