Soooooooo theres a black Leica III(no suffix) with a serial numbet that dates it in 1935 at the camera shop. Slight brassing, a crapped up 5cm Summar lens, but otherwise perfect. 600 bones, should I sell a couple lenses to get it? I dearly would like it and would use it. OTOH, I like to eat once in a while, and could use the cash in my bank.

The only problem I have with the camera is that fact that its a Leica III, which means the viewfinder is mostly useless, and would need an external finder. Metering isn't a problem, picked up a Sekonic L-188 for 20$ last week from the same shop. Getting this would probably end in me trading my F3.

600 bones? Way too much, imo.

Heck no, if you want to fool around with old Leica gear there's a IIIb on KEH for $99 in Ugly condition. Remember that UG on KEH = "LIKE NEW" on Fred Miranda.

But seriously, the III's are well-built but not a lot of fun to use. Of usability I much prefer the Voigtlanders, you can probably get one of the Bessa R3 variants and an inexpensive 50 for $600.
