stupid tripod questionf Anonymous
i've been looking at tripods and i was searching for one on B*H from recommendations i read here

it's the Manfrotto 190 but how come they are all so short?

>> Maximum Height57.1" (145.0 cm)

i'm about 1m80 so that means i'd have to lean down a lot to have the camera to my eyes. i normally hold it while standing straight and shoot fine with it, so i'd need a tripod that extends to at least 1m75 to be okay for my use

are there tripods like that that's comparable to the Manfrotto 190? or do i have to sit on a chair to use the tripod? doesn't seem like it'd be at the right angles, it wouldn't get the same frame/field of view as me standing up

also, what's the difference between bogen and manfrotto?

Bear in mind the higher it is, the less stable it is.
If you want a tripod that's as stable at 170cm as one at 70cm, you're going to pay a hell of a lot more.

not going to use it outside, so there's no vibration from anything. and i have lights that go off at the same time so there's no motion blur

i have light stands that reach the ceiling but they are flimsy, i just want a tripod like the 190 but that goes higher than 1.5m :/

Why not just go handheld then? Is your sync 1/15 or something?

because it's heavy to hold a 70-200 for long periods of time

it's just for convenience
