Hey /p/, I've decided to tripfag it up.

Anyway, I upgraded my hotshoe extension and made it permanent on the flash. I first disassembled the base of the flash and exposed the wires.

Then I snipped them and soldered some wires I salvaged from an old USB mouse to extend them. Color coding was easy since the flash used Red Blue White Black while USB was Red Green White Black.

Here's the other end soldered back to the base. It's kinda sloppy but it works and won't fall apart easily.

A quick test. Success! The flash fired right on sync. I already covered the exposed contacts with electrical tape.

And for the hell of it, I inserted the base into an old film canister and sealed it in place with hot glue and duct tape the bottom of the flash to keep the wires in and to keep them from snapping easily if I yank on it a bit.

And here's the finished product! Now I can easily bounce flash while handheld since the flash doesn't swivel and use it as off-camera flash. The length of the wire is about 1.1 meters or 3 feet and 8 inches.

What the fuck is wrong with you people? Home engineering is awesome, all you faggots who grew up thinking everything must come pre-packaged and ready to use are missing out on a whole lot of fun as well as a lot of useful skills.

Anyone who does not find this acceptable is a metrosexual piece of shit who will be the downfall of American ingenuity.

im not american. most of the world isnt.

points for actually DOING it, no points for style, or sturdyness.
>> Project !dashI8UpO.
>>246529
It's actually quite sturdy. I sealed the contacts to the base with glue so they don't break off easily. The contacts on the flash won't break cause I crammed them back inside the casing and the rubber insulation is taped to the side of the body with some strong duct tape.

But yeah, style is out the window here. It's not like I was aiming to look "pro". It'll attract weird faces from people who know what I'm trying to pull off but it won't show up on my photos. I'll be making a cardboard/paper bounce diffuser later.

Please explain how his ingenuity plots the downfall of Nikonfags or GTFO. Who the fuck are you to say what an acceptable Nikonfag is or is not?

Someone hasn't experienced the awesome that is duct tape! It was used in the military during WW2 for quick fixing hardware such as guns, jeeps, and even planes. It was only after the war though that it found its use in homes for sealing ducts that it became known as duct tape.

Meh, excuse to bump my old thread. Here's a flash diffuser I just made out of a chocolate panda box and paper. How else do you guys diffuse your flashes other than this and bouncing?

I agree! Next after the camera, duct tape is the most important part of your photo gear. I always carry at least on roll in my camera bag at all time, you'll never know when, where or to what you'll need it!

Well, 20 bucks in local currency is around a 1000 PHP which is enough to feed me well for two weeks and it might feed a family for 3 weeks IN DEEPEST BLACKEST AFRICA

>>248889
Yeah actually, I eat this fried banana thing called turon which costs 25 cents. Great shit. They sell it a lot on campus.

And don't tell me buying these things will give better quality photos because this diffuser and the ability to bounce works great! Pic related. Unprocessed jpeg resized in paint. Exposure is weird to get because it's a manual flash.

I use film cannisters or an empty half-pack of Marlboros.

Also, you could've searched around Quezon Boulevard or near Arranque market. I often see second hand flash cords selling for around P200. Hidalgo sells them for P500.
