unfortunately i'm not droppin moar than like 400 on it, cause i'm broke. DSLRs are too pricy for me. so now its between this and the Sony DSC-W300 13.6MP, but the vid isnt as good and its kinda pricy.

what else is sub-$400 and kicks ass while taking names at the same time?

YOU SEE THAT "HD" SON? ITS FUCKING HIGH DEFINITION, YOU BETTER GET IT!

wow the a200 is NICE....and that price is delish for a DSLR...we will see if thats in the near future when the next paycheck comes in.

does anyone own the Kodak or Sony DSC-W300?

... dont buy either and just wait for your next pay check. trust me, it'll be worth it.

so the DSLR (a200) has a lower megapixel, but i'm gonna guess its about 10 times better? sounds good to me...thanks.

Best of luck with that vidya.

ha wow, just realized that...i guess i'll just have to use my camcorder in a ziploc or something for snowboarding vids.

now i'm looking at the Olympus E-510 as well, looks nice so far.

The Canon Powershot A590IS is the best camera for under $200, and it's only $117 on Amazon. If you can afford to spend a bit more, the Pentax *istDS is a fantastic DSLR that's on clearance from Ritz Camera for under $250. Just ask an employee to express order one for you, they're not available on the websight.

No P&S is going to do worthwhile video if you're serious about it. Even a cheap clearance Canon ZR800 (not the 850, it has no mic jack) will be better for you.

haha, i actually happen to have the Canon ZR800 camcorder... so i think i'll use that for filming and bump myself up to a nice (affordable) SLR so i can really improve my shots.

any idea whats out there for waterproof cases for DSLR's such as the A200 or the Olympus i posted earlier, etc?
