I try to keep all my photos in the same form factor as they were originally shot...but I love square format. A family member has a Hasselblad 6x6 camera that I absolutely love using.

This, except I don't have a family member with a Hasselblad. I do have family members with full-frame Canon bodies and lots of L lenses, though, so those are nice sometimes.

I really like square format, but I tend to compose for the whole viewfinder I see, so with a 3:2 camera I almost never make any. I won't hesitate to crop if it seems right, but It usually doesn't, because I'll have composed from edge to edge.

So I'm thinking about buying a TLR to fix that.

do you have an actual reason for this? or are you just talking?

The lowest iso on an XT is 100. He's at 100. The only way he could get a slower exposure is to stop down the aperture which may not be the effect he wants on the DOF.

If the only thing you're attacking someone over is their freaking SHUTTER SPEED, you have issues. If they're shooting at max iso where they have a ton of noise and they're still shooting at a high speed, then yes, that's stupid. They should lower their iso and make the exposure longer.

Why? I have been sitting here for the last 2 minutes with nothing in the box, trying to figure out a reason that you shouldn't shoot at a fast speed if you aren't trying to blur motion.

Does it wear out the shutter spring?

The pic isn't square, but square shots are fine. I have seen lots of good MF square shots. I tend to buy more of other people's prints than make my own. A consumer rather than a producer, I suppose. I've got some square canvas prints. Looks great. Pick whatever suits your composition and the end you have in mind for it.
