Just curious, how do you wear your camera? Strap on neck, or strap around your shoulder and chest?
>> Anonymous
neck. around shoulder and chest sounds like it would be awkward trying to grab your camera and get in the way of your arm.
>> Anonymous
i wear mine around shoulder/chest with it hanging off my back

when im gunna take a pciture i just slidie the strap around until the camera is where i like it

Neck for quick acces, shoulder for long walks without the need to take pics.
>> Anonymous
shoulder and chest, i move around a lot and put my camera in back of me when i climb shit or something.

I don't like huge things hanging on my neck, so I don't even attach straps to my cameras and carry them in shoulder bags. The only exception is my film Nikon FG with pancake, it's small and light enough, but I rarely use it.
>> Anonymous
Around my neck.
Or in my LowePro Slingshot 200 AW when I'm not using it on walks/vacations.

When I'm in a studio I usually just hold it, and let the strap hang there.

Neck when shooting but I need two free hands. Shoulder when not shooting.

But when I'm shooting, I just wrap the strap around my wrist and hold it in the hand. So responsive and natural.

Pic is Cartier-Bresson doing it. I wrap it a little differently, a little tighter and more bunched up around the wrist, but you get the idea. It works best with thinner straps, about the thickness of HCB's here.

I wear my strap diagonally across my chest. It's a custom strap of my own design that allows me to lengthen or shorten the strap very quickly/easily with just a tug, so if I want to keep it cinched up and out of the way I can, but I can easily make the strap longer and the camera free as well. I'm still working on refining it, but the design works well.

Warren its not possible to patent a strap like you have mentioned( in the way that you can simply shorten and lengthen it quickly). you could however patent the design of some oof the parts that make this possible if they are unique enough. Thats the hardest part. Even if you can try stopping all the Chinese copies and such, its a fucking nightmare. My friends dad invented a type of lock for drills and it was copied by a Japaneses company. he said it was impossible to fight them, it would have made him bankrupt.

>> Warren !!JL+uuUHRNlZ

A certain aspect of it is, technically patentable. Thing is, given the cost and trouble to get the patent, it's probably not worth it in the long run. I've done months of research on the whole patent thing and it's a huge headache, but worth being sure about.

Even if that were the case, my POST would be about my supposed artfagginess, not the fucking thread. You're terrible at imageboard dynamics as well as logic and reason.

But seriously now, what's artfaggy about an XTi, a 50mm 1.8, a hand strap, and a cheap Sunpak flash? I don't care about being called an artfag, but this camera setup has absolutely nothing to do with being called an artfag, it's a camera.

I'm curious though, why have you felt the need to follow every post I make since I bought that filter?
>> Anonymous
>>190241

i think if you get a patent then thats great. Especially if you design/ engineer something that is useful...the patent alone could be worth money if it can be patented..etc

if you cant then i suggest you go down the ruit of high end straps that are really REALLY well made that feature your strap design. then you dont have to worry about the patent and you can always make them better and better. just an idea.

>> elf_man !!DdAnyoDMfCe
I just got a new, longer strap specifically so I can wear it across my shoulders. It's a pain when you're running around and it's bouncing all over the place, this is much more stable. And it's long enough to easily shoot without moving it just to my neck.
I used to just wrap it around my hand a lot, but that was due to the limits of having a shorter strap around my neck.
