Telescopes which hook up to the PC usually produce really crappy low-resolution images. To take pictures of nebulas and so on, you need a long telephoto lens, probably with teleconverters (500mm of equivalent focal distance or more), a camera that doesn't suck too much at long exposures (CMOS sensors are better than CCD), and a tripod with astrophotographic mount which rotates the camera during long exposures so the stars don't get smeared.
