Need a new camera.. would like movie capability and such so no dSLR's (not that i can really afford that anyway) and i hate piddly compacts, so the "SLR-like" compacts come into view for me. Been reading fuckloads about a range of em but figured I might as well post to see if theres any input here. Also a big turn-off would be a camera stuck on AA's with no proper battery option..
Any input on these or others to add to my list?
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18 (or fz8/fz50..?)
Sony DSC-H9 (or wait around for H50..)
Olympus SP-560UZ (again wait around for 570..)
Any inputs? If im correct i believe the olympus is stuck on XD cards which is a low point.. Extra zoom is nice but i really dont care much about having an 18/20x zoom over a 12x considering the noise and such..

Any helps?

Canon S5 IS is really good though I suggest the S3 IS so you can put CHDK custom firmware on it and unlock so many new options an SLR has such as RAW and remote and even more like scripting which is very very useful. Don't worry, it wont damage your camera. It's all loaded in software which means turning the camera off and back on will get rid of it. You'll have to load it manually each time though it can be autoloaded.
