I'm just going to leave this here.

Nikon owned but yeah, Sony's line with Konica lens is pretty sweet. Built in IS, lol Nikon.
>> Anonymous
>>246946
funny how everyone but canikon, it seems, are moving to Built in IS. I suppose that's because the lenses with IS are just too good of a market to smash.
>> egle
>>246945
what lens is that? not a MD lens is it?
>> egle
Dear sony bring back the 28 f2 AF lens
>> Anonymous
lol sony
thats like ....basically the same as buying a fisher price camera isnt it?

no one takes sony seriously anyway
>> eagle
>>246958

This is the dude you responded too. Yeah, teiring lenses the Canon way is too much of a bread and butter for them. When IS as a feature equals $300 more for a Canon lens...

Sony at least has that aspect right. Every camera from all companies henceforth should have fricken IS on it.
>> Anonymous
>>246953
I like in lens IS, atleast I can see, feel and expect how much IS it could give me.
>> Anonymous
I like lens IS way better because you can see the result through the viewfinder. Body IS is too unpredictable and arent as convinient as IS built into lenses.
>> Anonymous
any word on its replacement?

I don't get why people are so fucking snotty about sony cameras. Their point and shoots crap all over just about everything else on the market for the general photographer, and their DSLR's are superb. Hate camera snobs. So annoying.
>> Anonymous
>>247098
/p/ is full of nerds, and nerds like fighting over technology. They need to feel sure that their brand is the best for the job (taking pictures of friends, guitar strings, insects and headphones).
>> Anonymous
i guess in-lens IS could be expected to be more effective as more vibrations can be picked up, since it is the lens that ultimately does the most jittering.
>> Anonymous
>>247098
I hate it that Sony is even trying to be a part of the camera industry. They should have stayed with compacts.

There's something called traditions. They're very rarely forgotten when considering photographic equipment. Sony ain't a trustworthy company for me because all that crap with bluray and ofc the rootkit thing.

To me Nikon and Canon are among the best companies who make cameras and optics. I shoot Canon and the only reason for it really is that the 20D was so much better than the D70 which had great moiré issues at the time.
>> Anonymous
>>247108
Traditions like, for example, film.

OH WAIT.
>> Anonymous
>>247108
Sony have been making Video Camera and other equipment like that for ages.

And also stfu and become an hero.

Stupid snob.

No one is denying that canon and nikon are the shit. But they're not the be all and end all of cameras. Olympus make some great DSLR's too.

For it's price and spec, the E-500 is fantastic.
>> Project !dashI8UpO.
>>247108
You're forgetting who's making Nikon's sensors, the CineAlta (they have a lot of experience in video, stills shouldn't be a problem. They also started early in digicams with the Mavica. They have so much going on in electronics, components, chemicals, and materials that I'm sure even Canon owes some part of itself to Sony.
>> Anonymous
>>247116
Yeah well. I've probably shot for more years than you have lived, so thats for the newbie thing. :)

>>247121
Its kinda fun that you say that, because Canon really does manufacture its own sensors. The only part Sony is involved with is the screen.

The fun part is that Sony makes the screens for Nikon too and people here keep comparing them and telling that the Canon ones suck compare to the Nikon ones.

What are you even doing here grandpa?
>> Serenar !m827jEgWi.
>>247098
To be honest, IMO the A200 looks reasonable, the A700 looks promising, and the A3xx series is impossibly shit. Also Sony compacts look great but have trouble with overexposure when shooting flash (invaribly between several models and several years).

>>247135
That wouldn't be hard considering that I'm underage b& oh wai-

Also everyone is forgetting Sony made KM's sensors too.

That and Sony are market leaders in P&S (not that any of us care). Besides, im sure most of the sony hate in /p/ is due to you know who.

Sony is making sensors for Nikon, all Pentax cameras (except K20) have Sony sensors too.
They have biggest silicon foundries and their production potential is huge.
I just love when D60 owners bash A200/300 for noise, not realizing that both of them have the same sensor.
>> Anonymous
>>247162
Nikon definately proves that it's not all about the sensor. D3 at high ISO's is terrifying. It's softer than any glass you can fit on it.
>> Anonymous
>>247166
D300/D3/D700 are Nikon projects, they are still made by Sony but Nikon engineers designed them.
Not to mention Nikon has superior noise removal procedures like D300 and A700 have identical sensor but D300 manages noise way better. But still consumer/amateur shelf , everything from N is just S sensors.

Superior? For making low light pictures look all plastic?
>> Anonymous
>>247170
I love it how noise was NOT an issue when Nikon had shit loads with it, but now it's the main reason why one would want a D3.
>> Project !dashI8UpO.
I actually expected Sony to bring video to the dSLR first.
>> Butterfly !xlgRMYva6s
>>247172
nope

>>247170
How good were Nikon 2 years into using digital sensors? Of course Nikon are better at working with the output, they've been doing it longer. (car analogy time) Its like Cummins building a car, sure they make stunning diesel engines but you wouldnt expect them to be able to deliver a great car first time out would you and you certianly wouldnt expect them to be beating Scania or MAN right away either.

>>247220
Sony appear to be working on some new sensor that destroys current ones for Dynamic Range, so something useful then.
