Memory Anonymous
Hey guys...

I need to buy memory for my Olympus E-510. My options are Compact Flash or xD memory. Which should I get? Which is better/faster?

Lexar seems to be the only one posting the speed...how do I tell what is a 120x or 133x with Sandisk or Kingston?

The A-Data 2GB CF card I use is ridiculously fast for what I paid. Beat the hell out of the 1gb Kingston card I used to use, and makes shooting in RAW a lot more comfortable.

you don't need higher than Ultra II if you're getting sandisk

I have cheap-ass bargain basement compactflash cards.

They work fine. Modern digital SLRs have enough buffer that you'll rarely notice your card being the speed bottleneck unless you're holding down the shutter button on RAW.

Same

I have a lexar one and a few blank named ones, the lexar i can shoot _forever_ on jpeg but the blanks run out after about 10 iirc. Similar with RAW but obviously not forever.

Id care but they only cost 6.99 each for 2gb so its perfectly ok.

if someone didnt already say this you have to get the olympus memory cards to do the special panoramic thing.

Any panoramic stitching software works better than the olympus stitching, I know I used to have a 5050z and 8080.
