Do it! I got an EOS 300 (Rebel 2000) 35mm for like fifteen bucks US and while not the best camera ever made it makes an awesome, lightweight little combo when paired with a 50mm 1.8.

Unfortunately I now want to go fullframe digital D:

All about film here. I shoot Velvia, Kodak VS and Ilford Delta 100 B&W regularly.

The film rebels are fine but I'd recommend the Elan 7. It's about the same size as a 20D or 30D and has better ergonomics than the Rebel (just the same as the 30D is better than the XTi).
