i'm thinking about getting a pentax k20 what do you guys think about that camera? it has everything i'm looking for and more [internal shake resistant motor good for around 4 stops, viewfinder prism, weather sealing] the camera has really impressed me. what do you think?

I like the glare on the front of the lens, although the distortion really turns me off. The buttons on it are well lit so this will probably counterbalance your weak sence of brightness. The plain white background really makes the camera stand out. Down to the crisp digital image I'd consider this a worthy contender against my hasselblad.

the sensor has advanced image stabilization so you don't have to spend the extra bucks on lenses that have it already.

Ah, like Minolta and Sony digital cameras. I guess other companies are finally starting to follow the leader, eh?

Just wondering,
I've used the silly nikon VR systems,
If the mirror has that VR/IS system, does the image sometimes jolt when panning?

Stop it

I've already been acclaimed the most hated on /p :(
But seriously, does it?
It drove my crazy when I used a lens with VR.

Perhaps the same could be said of all butterflies.

i used to like the Pentax dSLRs

until i realized they run on fucking AA batteries
>> Anonymous
>>183224
way easier to go grab some AA's from a supermarket than it is to fuck around trying to find a place to charge your batteries
>> washer !kxrJVlZ8OE
it comes with a rechargable battery and a recharger.

AA batteries...are you serious? What is this, 1985?

Stop reading stevesdigicam reviews.

Even though I love AAs in things, NiMH AAs last a loooooong time these days.

The K10D and K20D have their own battery formats, same as some Sony/Minolta cameras, I believe.

The K200D, K100D, and K110D run on AAs

yeah the k10 and k20 have a rechargable battery with a life of about 500 pictures. i've been looking at the k20d myself. for some reason it's more appealing to me than some of the other prosumer slrs i've been viewing recently.

IIRC, the K20d's battery life is quoted at around 700, because of the CMOS sensor and other power-saving thingamajigs. But eneloops would be fuckawesome in the K200d, they last forever in my old fuji.
I'm contemplating selling my soul for one of these things and the weathersealed 16-50/2.8.

my k10d gets about 650 shots or so per battery, i never use onboard flash, unless its to trigger a AF540FGZ wirelessly.

You can get way more shots per battery if you turn off insta-review.

batterys are $10 each on ebay, get a D-BG2 and a tonne of batterys and be done with it...
