Noob Questions about Phtography Anonymous
Well, for starters, i am a noob when it comes to photography. So some question might seem a bit off.

I want to buy a new Cam My "new" Sony Whatever cybershot lacks several options my DSC P30 had (like adjustable shutter opening times for longer exposure) and also the (don't know what the right term is) thing where it works against blurs from unwanted movements

Because my budgets are Quite limited, I need something thats worth the money, and not to expensive.

Because I mostly take photgraphs on conventions, I'd need somthing tahts good for Portrait and indoor art shots but for night shots for foreworks (i think i need an adjustable shutter for that)

So what should it be:
Not to big
Shutter time adjustable
what else

Any suggestions?

The Pentax K100D is your best bet, since you seem to value stabilization (it has it built in to the body) and will probably want low noise levels. Noise is chiefly determined by the size of the sensor: the smaller the sensor, the more noise. Almost all point and shoots have small sensors; all DSLRs have large ones.

However, how quiet does your camera have to be at these conventions? If it has to be quiet, you might want to take a look at the two (?) point and shoots with larger sensors: the new one by Sigma and the old one by Sony. I don't know if they're stabilized, though. DSLRs are loud.

All SLR's are loud, you hear the shutter snap

Well, yeah, I could've (should've) dropped the D but put it on out of habit.

Well my budgets max I would be willing to spend is about 300 € Less would be better.

It doesn't have to be a reflex Cam (They are nice for Con's but for Partys they are to big and atm I can#t afford two) .. but also I'd really like to buy a reflex somewhere in the near future (The Pentax looks rly nice so )

The cam doesn't need to be quiet at those convention a was until now, so i dont realy did think about the loudness, just if it is this loud it makes everyone turn around (i dont know if this is possible in a but rather quiet crowded hall)

any further suggestions?
