Tokina is slightly sharper, But the Sigma is also quite good, and the difference of 10 - 12mm is pretty big.
So if you really want crazy wide angle then Theres no reason not to get the sigma, It has a cool autofocus override clutch in it, And it can focus quite close. In fact it probably has the best autofocus performance of any of my lenses (though the wider the easier it usually is).
My suggestions Tamron = if you have a film camera aswell Tokina = Best buy for your money Sigma = Widest angle Nikon or Canon = if your loaded, cause they are the best.
