There is a whole group for cats in HDR.

I searched flickr for everything tagged with "hdr," and it gave me some hope. There are still people that can use it decently.

I hope you saw one of my 5 or 6 pix that I did HDR...

What the fuck? Flickr is just bullshit isn't it?
Was thinking of signing up, as I've seen a couple of guys that inspire me a bit.
But I've noticed that no matter how SHITTY some of the pics are, they still get tons of "BEAUTIFUL CAPTURE", "GREAT COMPOSITION", "MAGNIFICENT TONES".

what a bunch of fagets

It's a great tool. However, there are a lot of tools on it. I only have half a dozen or so photos that have obnoxious huggy comments like that. To get those comments, you're expected to look at THEIR shit and give THEM huggy comments too. Otherwise, what the fuck good are you?

If flickr's the right tool, use it. If not, don't. Comments don't affect the utility of having a photo catalog replete with tags and organization (that also automatically resizes your shit for you).

I like flickr because it gives me an easy place to host my pictures and then share them with friends and family. I could really care less about what the greater (and in this case, DA) community thinks about my shots.

That's pretty much how i imagined the community.

>(that also automatically resizes your shit for you).

That's cool enough, but why re size to fucking 500px?
I'm using a fucking 24" @ 1920x1200, not a 14" @ 800x600.

>>242192
that's the default, I think it also comes available in original size or larger.

Hi, I'm an admin for a group called Cats in HDR, and we'd love to have this added to the group!

im raging at this shit

people who shoot hdr like that probably don't even know what hdr means - they might know what the letters stand for, but they don't know the meaning behind "high dynamic range". HDR is a tool, not a photoshop filter.

look, if you're shooting in the outdoors, your camera can handle that dynamic range just fine. fuck off with your hdr.

HDR is for.. I dunno, trying to shoot the interior of a house with a large window. Either the inside will be too dark or the outside will be too bright. HDR fixes this. If you're just outside on the street you don't need this shit.

I'm currently working on making a true HDR that doesn't look like shit (using photomatix)
Problem was, it was a lake in a severe cloud shadow, with a mountain the background with lots of light on it, and some VERY bright clouds.
Let's hope I can pull this off.

I occasionally work as an assistant for a photographer. He once had a shoot for some industrial equipment some company was going to sell. He shot at night while they were working under these huge ass spotlights in the middle of an expressway. Most of his flash equipment was rendered useless, so he used HDR show he could have detail, and contrast where it would be impossible with a single shot. THAT'S what hdr is for.
