Alright /p/ I've been discussing the pros & cons of buying a Mac over a Windows.
I'm a Windows user and haven't so much as touched a Mac since I was like 8.
So what does /p/ use? With what programs? Are Macs really worth the price?

By the way, when I get a new computer it's main purpose is photo editing and music creation/editing.

Boot Camp on OS X would include every single "pro" point for Windows since it's the exact same thing.

Here is a simple graph.

Protip: Macs (as hardware) are overpriced pieces of shit.

Buy a real goddamn computer and just throw OSX86 on a second partition for all your Mac assfucking. You might have to pick some specific parts to insure 100% compatibility, but it'll still be hundreds of dollars cheaper, and as a bonus, you won't look like a goddamn tool.

the reason macs are used often in the design/art world is because adobe developed software the macs first, and so companys bought the macs, and through time stuck with macs because its whats they've used from day 1

I'm not sure about photoshop, but I do know for video editing macs are superior as final cut pro>anything
it can also utilise all 4 cores or some shit as well

Windows does not crash as it used to do. I never, ever had a crash since I got my core2 duo.

I do photo editing just fine.
