sup /p/,

I'm a bit of a retard when it comes to photography, (or "a beginner" if I wasn't self-loathing) and I just got this new film SLR and I'm wondering how the fuck I would go about taking night shots or dark environments. The shutter speeds only range from 1 sec to 1/2000th and underneath 1 is this setting "B". "B" stands for unlimited shutter time until the button is released. I'm not sure if I'm sounding like a patronizing faggot right now but I'm very high. Sorry. Anyway, I'd like to know how I could master the art of "judging how long to have shutter open"... or something.

Ohhh man, I'm way too used to DSLR. Thanks a bunch.

However, the exposure reel is locked but a seperat button which makes it kind of annoying/difficult to use on the spot. I suppose it shouldn't be an issue if you're experienced.

if you've got a dslr or a camera with manual modes, you can use them as lightmeters.
