Yeah, i know its airshit, you dont have to whine about it.

Killed the vignetting and upped the saturation on them..

spilled some molasses on your guns there
>> Warren !!JL+uuUHRNlZ
A decent start. No, they're not stellar, but certainly somewhere to progress from. I would suggest working on developing your concept further on paper then going in and doing a second round of images. Experiment, see what works and what doesn't.

TRIGGER DISCIPLINE

It's okay, he's dead Jim.

>>188296
maybe he's just wounded and is waiting for his comrades to come and help him. then because he lacks trigger discipline he ends up accidentally shooting one of his comrades.

why the white background?

step 1: Find deserted highway type road at night
step 2: lay person on ground and set up scene / blood
step 3: turn car highbeams on point at person
step 4: ???
step 5: profit

The crappy red carpet in my place didnt quite fit with the scene... plus it looks crisper somehow..

sorry burtgummer, but i think all the shots fail massively because of the lack of any blood on the guns.
it just looks like a major flaw that you overlooked while shooting

this is a shame since everything else is alright

fagboat emo with an expensive camera trying to be clever.

watch some movies.. the trails of blood are pretty fake/set up. the random drops look like he was pricked with a needle, and yes those guns need to get dirty too.
>> Anonymous
It all looks fake and silly, sorry. What is it even meant to be?
>> Anonymous
>>188284
all the blood drops have halos around them. and whats with the reverse vignetting
>> BurtGummer
>>188866

hmm, this way already mentioned, will correct the blood pattern/smearing and clean guns..

>>188867

Its just a set of primary test shots for further development. The background wasnt too important, it was the blood authenticity i was bothered about.

>>188869

Excellent points, i overkilled the shopping trying to get roid of some wierdly patterned vignetting. Correctable, but thanks.

>>188880blood authenticity

AGAIN I ask - what is it meant to be.

The "authenticity" will change depending on what it is meant to be! Tell us for goodness' sake. It's not like it can hurt.

I never really set a story around these images, they are mainly preparatory shots for a bigger photo run featuring people after a gun fight/knife fight. The mixture/realness of the blood was the main concern.

Im going to focus on the blood smearing etc more now though.

>>188896I never really set a story around these images

There is where you are going wrong for starters. You don't have an image in mind before you start, so you're not going to get to where you want to be. Imagine the scene and story you are preparing for and that should help you work things out.

Otherwise it is as useful as shooting test charts.

Another downside with these images is your lighting of choice. I know these aint final, but keep that in mind. Also makeup. The hands are red-yellowish, saying there is blood flowing below the skin. So their alive... blue-whitish means less blood underneath, equals dead or drained of blood. Wich is what I think your trying to get at... I doubt it's somebody taking a rest in another persons bloodpool, after letting it drip over them a bit.

2 easy ways to fix this. The best is a combination of both. Use colder, bluer light. Will make an easy illusion of blueness, contra the yellow in the skin. Also, pale pale makeup on the hand. Will enhance the blueness, and even without it make it look like someone who is dead rather then asleep.
