So, I think my friend fucked up my camera lens. I won't get into any specifics, but is there any safe way to use household tools to clean your lens? If so, what?

pic unrelated but c&c if needed

Oh and sorry about the EXIF data not showing properly on the pic, all I really did to it in Photoshop was crop it, slightly reduce the contrast and increase the brightness.

I use a fine grit sandpaper to begin with and work my way down the grades until I am using a leather chamois. Work the cloth in circles for the best effect. If you can construct some kind of rudimentary lathe, I suggest using it instead.

Specifics would likely help. Did he/she:
Smash it to pieces?
Scratch/Gouge the front element?
Scratch Gouge the rear element?
Get liquid or particles inside the interior?
Damage the zoom mechanism?
Damage the electronic focus motor?
Stick chewing gum all over it?
Burn it in a fire?
Bend the filter thread?
Damage the lens mount?
Damage the lens contacts?
Disassemble it and use the parts as genitalia ornaments?
