Is there any way to have Adobe Lightroom or a similar program with a fucking NORMAL PC?

this depends on your definition of "Normal PC"

Windows

* Intel® Pentium® 4 processor
* Microsoft® Windows® XP with Service Pack 2 or Windows Vista™ Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, or Enterprise Edition (certified for 32-bit editions)
* 768MB of RAM (1GB recommended)
* 1GB of available hard-disk space
* 1,024x768 screen resolution
* CD-ROM drive

I guess you can pay for a computer of this caliber if you can afford Lightroom in the first place!

Buy moar RAM. Lightroom hogs memory like crazy.

Other than that, you're good to go.

Paying for computer parts that are 100 dollars is different than paying for software that's 100 dollars. I spent 1000 dollars on my entire new rig and probably wouldn't spend anything on Lightroom since I don't particularly need it too much. I stick with Picasa and irfanview.

Step 1) Quit Whining how you can't run $Big_New_Wiz_Bang_Program_That_Does_Everything_For_You
Step 2) Install and learn how to use TheGIMP
Step 3) ??????
Step 4) Repeat as needed

Goddamn linuxfags. How does GIMP replace Lightroom exactly? That's like replacing a toaster with a microwave.

Dear Dumbass:

As a longtime proponent of Linux and Free Software, I would like to respectfully request that you stop advocating for my side. You make my side look bad.

Lightroom is not image manipulation software, it is image workflow software. There is some overlap between the two, but only in the same way that there's some overlap between, say, page layout/DTP software and text editors, or between a shell and an IDE. There currently does not exist an equivalent to Lightroom/Aperture in the free software world that I'm aware of.

Respectfully,
AC

I'll accept 'Ignorant' on this one.

GIMP is so unbelievably shittacular, it blows my mind. On a regular basis. Every time I use it.

OP, your question is fucked. Unfuck your head, please.

I run Lightroom and CS2 on my aging, decrepit G4 TiBook with just 1Ghz, 768Mb RAM, and a scant 10 gigs of hard drive space that often goes down to about 2 gigs until I delete or archive my images on a monthly basis. Oh, and it's got a short in the motherboard or some shit, and crashes hard randomly as a result.

If I can make fucking do, so can you. So deal. And for chrissakes, boy, learn to torrent some fucking software.

Not really if you wish to run said $100 software. Or $299 in this case.
