I've decided to shoot the Saint Patrick's Day parade tomorrow, but I've never really shot a parade before. I've shot protests (not CoS protests) and festivals and stuff, but not a parade.

Does anyone have any tips? I'm not a journalist or working for someone, so there's no shots I have to knock out or anything, just going because I tend to shoot better street the more that's going on.

Pic pretty unrelated but helpful: relative FoVs of focal lengths for 35mm.

you can try to get in front of the parade and get a shot of some marching band or something, but that's pretty standard. The real pictures will be the kids there since they're pretty much the only ones a parade entertains. The issue there is trying not to look like a pedo taking pictures of children, so good luck with that.
