since forever.

get a loan, then. if you're going to be an engineer, you can afford to mortgage your future.

there are no good dslr's to be had for under 250 dollars, unless you want a relic. film slr's are cheap, film is expensive over the long term and occasionally cheap over the short term.

you're a fucking pussy. i'm graduating this spring with a ME major and i've had a job since high school.

also, enjoy not getting a job because you cant even spell "ridiculous" in college.

I have had a bridge camera for about a year now. That's why I'm looking to move up.

Yeah maybe when I get my housing loan next year I'll throw in an extra couple hundred and get a DSLR. I've already got 100K+ in loans, what's a few hundred more.

A photo can be taken in 1/8000th of a second.

A job usually takes eight solid hours per day, not counting commute time and overtime.

students' jobs don't, and tell me the last time you went out, took pics and reviewed/edited them in 1/8000th of a second

You can buy an used olympus E300 or E500 for $250.

I don't recommend the E300, though, as it sucks hard at ergonomics.

Artistic license. Of course postprocessing and whatnot takes more time, I'm just saying that photography is something that can be comfortably squeezed into the nooks and crannies of one's life whereas a job (even a student job) takes up a nontrivial chunk of time.

You get 4 months of summer a year... Hell, get an intern or student position in a engineering company. Kill two birds with one stone.
