>>117086 KEH rates extremely conservatively. I've bought about a half dozen camera bodies from them in "bargain" condition, and they've all been extremely good. The worst I've seen was a couple minor scratches. They were better than the stuff I've bought from Adorama that was rated as "Excellent"
I also bought one item, a Nikon F4s body, that was rated as "Ugly." It definitely isn't pretty. There's a lot of brassing, some markings are worn off, and the ring around the viewfinder is broken, but I've had the camera for about four years and have put about 500 rolls of film through it and it still works flawlessly.
I also bought one item rated as "Excellent," and that it was. I couldn't distinguish it from new other than it didn't have the original box or paperwork.
I have no hesitation about buying or recommending "bargain" graded items from KEH. I'd get an "ugly" item if the price was right. Keep in mind that they warranty everything to work 100% for 30 days regardless of the condition rating, so you can try it out and if you don't think it's going to cut it, you can send it back.
Pic related- Hasselblad 2000FC body with 150mm f/2.8 Sonnar, both rated "bargain" from KEH.
