Any Pentaxians here? Anonymous
Pentax is getting pretty good with their cameras, other than their production issues. Awesome viewfinder, in-body anti-shake, compatibility with older manual lenses, and the ability to use anti-shake with those lenses.

Hopefully the K20D will be as good as my trusty weathersealed K10D.

I love my Pentax 50/2 and 28/2.8, as well as the K1000 I use them with. Perhaps it's just the dynamic range of film, but I trust my K1000's metering more than my D50's Matrix metering.

I got the DA* lenses, so it's goodbye to film body compatibility... :(

I have the 110D because I am poor, I still like it, Alot better than the D40 I had before hand. I just need some lenses, Mainly a super-wide angle, a portrait lense, and a telephoto/w macro.

Pentax needs to make a very small camera body (something like the Olympus E-410) to go with their pancake lenses.

Got a Pentax SF7 / SF10. Very happy with it.

I've been considering going with a Pentax, but I've heard bad things about their lenses.

Are they really all that bad?

what? no.

Pentax must have a tiny share but I hear the cameras are nice. Kind of like with Sigma.

The only thing terrible about their lenses is the lack of availability of them. Image wise, I have yet to see anything from Canon, Nikon or Olympus able to beat the 31mm, 43mm, and 77mm.

Sigma 50-500mm or a Sigma 100-300mm?

I've heard one of the old 50mm primes will get you a look just like the "Leica Glow," but I can never remember which one. Would make a great 75mm portrait lens.

I love my K100D. Picked up a cheap ($50) M 50mm 1.7 a couple weeks after I got the camera, and it hardly leaves the body.

I'd agree with other guys. The only thing wrong with pentax glass is the availability.

How's the availability compared to Olympus? I know that was a complaint with them.

Perhaps you're thinking of the Takumar 50 mm 1.4 screw mount?

I'm a big pentax user. I've inherited a fully functioning Spotmatic IIa from my father, with a 28, 35, 55, 135, and 250 mm lens. Also I got his Flashes (one out of commission until I can reverse engineer a power pack for it), and related accessories. I picked up for myself a K1000, a SF-1n, and recently a PZ-1p. I'm looking forwards to getting a DSLR from pentax someday...

It was some 50/1.something, and I do remember it had "Takumar" and "SMC" in its name... but there's apparently been a ton of those. I don't remember if it was K or screwmount, which is actually pretty important. Heh.
