/p/ I just bought a cheap flash on Amazon. I've never actually used an off-board flash, and was wondering if there's anything I need to know before using it.
turn it on before you use itoh als also make sure the batteries are charged
not really, just read the manual. try experimenting with using walls and roofs as your own little softbox though. if your model is straight in front of you, aim the flash towards the wall besides you to create a soft shadow when the light bounces back.
Relevant to my interests. Any flashes worth mentioning? What about diffusers? I guess I should be reading that strobist site for this shit.
i got the 430EX II, works great. cost me like $400 but that's Norwegian prices.

>>257011I've actually already made a soft box. I mean, it's just a cardboard box with a bit of white fabric over the end, but it works well enough on my on-board flash.Pic related, looks kinda like that.
