this may sound like a dumb question, but i need to ask, in OP picture what are those 2 units in the front, with the soft boxes around them. are those just strobe lights? I've been wanting to mess around with a studio looking set up, but i dont know anything about wireless flashes or strobes.

worklights. they wont be strobes obviously, but its a good relatively cheap alternative.

simple fluorescent lamps. They go well with>>169978

You can use bigger/more bulbs for doing bigger shots.
