minolta 7D

or

Sony A100 ect!?

bothe take my minolta af lenses but i just cant bring myself to choose!
>> Anonymous
Sell your lenses.
>> ac !!VPzQAxYPAMA
I'd vote 7D. Lower resolution, but it was designed to be Minolta's more pro-line DSLR when they made it, so it's probably a much nicer camera to use.
>> kres!
and what should i get instead!?
>> kres!
aghh thanks ive noticed the minolta 7D's go for alot more money too,

avg sony a100 - $300
avg 7d -$500-600 just for body :|

A700 > 7D > *

The A700 is some 2000$, all it really has over the 7D is more pixels.
>> Anonymous
sadly, ive been unfortunate to have used both
7D beats the A100 everyday of the week.

7D, was awesome, but its old now.
A100 was shit when it was new, and its even more shit now.

( used both for roughtly 3 hours )

A700 is better than A100, but still nothing to gloat about. Used teh A700 for about an hour and felt like poos. AF and LCD was the only reason i didnt throw it in the rubbish bin.

No, because Canon has a huge modern catalogue and world wide support instead.

Assuming you're not just an anti-Sony/Minolta troll, I'm really glad you're not on my side of this argument.

olol, Sony is bigger than Nikon/Canon.

Also, the quality of the Minolta lenses that Sony carried over are incredible.

when sony is trying to cut budget, where do you think it's going to do it first

ps3? tv/audio? p-and-s? slr? oh yeah, that's right
>> Anonymous

lol, sony cuts divisions that aren't profitable. Sony has the second largest market share including DSLRs and PnS.
>> Anonymous
>>156507

cybershot != alpha
>> Anonymous
>>156507

Sony isn't trustworthy.
They lock users into shit formats (minidisk, UMD, memory stick) and cut divisions at random with no regard to their consumers.

I really want to like their cameras, I just don't trust the company.
>> Anonymous
>>156510

doesn't fucking matter.

Sony is in the DSLR market for the long run. The fact that the cybershot series is doing so well is proof that sony at least knows somewhat what they're doing.

sony would be nuts to cut the Alpha division. There are a LOT of people with tons of Minolta glass and new people buying into the system everyday.

nikon knows what they're doing
canon knows what they're doing
pentax knows what they're doing
olympus knows what they're doing

sony just bought a company

in other words, sony sucks
>> Anonymous
>>156513
Uh, the only things that have to go into the A100/200 are minolta equipment and compact flash card. It's a great budge DSLR, probably the best on the market. Who cares in what other ways sony fucks up, if they make a good product because they bought another company, then it's still a good product. What a fucking tool you are.

would agree had you said that quoting the right person

but what you said doesn't change anything about sony's track record

ITT: BAWW I HATE GLOBAL GIANT

ps, do you ever watch columbia/tristar films? SONY OWNS THEM. I could list the films sonys CGI company has worked on too.

Hating on a giant corp is fun isnt it kids?
>> Anonymous
oh wow, can you stop being a retard all the time

no one is going FUCK M$, THIS SHIT IS BULLSHIT on sony
>> Anonymous
>>156631
Also, pretty much any camera company is a global corporation.

And most of them are the big, giant type, too. Canon is huge, Nikon is bound up with Mitsubishi motors, some banks, an insurance company, a brewery, an oil company, and lots others. Only ones in niche markets avoid that to a degree, like Leica, although it's by no means the little, simple elvin workshop myth makes it out to be.

Probably only really specialized companies, like little view camera workshops, are totally out of the multinational corporate game. And you know what? The master craftsman probably drove to work in a Mitsubishi and drank a Coca-Cola while working. And the product will be shipped to you by UPS, on an airplane built by Boeing, powered by jet fuel sold by Royal Dutch Shell, pumped out of Sudan by rigs built by Halliburton.

It sucks, but it's almost impossible to function in civilization today without dealing with large companies.
>> Butterfly !xlgRMYva6s
>>156657
Im like the #1 sony fan, its just very very amusing to see basically what you said.
>> sm
>>156657

Wow I never knew that Nikon was owned by Mitsubishi. I guess it truly is a small world after all :P
>> Anonymous
>>156665
Not owned per se, but they're in the same group of companies, allied and financially and logistically integrated.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keiretsu

Canon's in with Nissan (and Ricoh), Fuji's in with Toyota.

In a way, IMO buying from Sony would actually be ethically preferable in a minor way, because it's an independent corporation, outside of this old, closed system. But it all sucks.

HAY GUIZE

CAN IT BE SONY FLAME TIEM NOW?
>> Anonymous
>>156676

It's always SONY HATE TIME in /p/ and /v/ and any other board that talks about products that SONY might manufacture.

SONY does a lot of things really well, but because they're so goddamn big none of their parts seem to communicate well together and they fuck a lot of things up really badly.

After the trifecta of mega-fail of MiniDisk™, UMD™, and Memory Stick™ I'm not willing to sink a significant chunk of cash into any SONY product that uses proprietary memory, media, lenses, or anything else.

You and me both. Which is why I own a Sony Alpha DSLR.
