Affordable Film Options Anonymous
Hi there I would like to hear from any australians that shoot print film on a budget. Currently i have a membership at rabbit photo where for 17 bucks i get prints, scanned cd and new roll of film. Is there anyway of doing this cheaper. I don't care for the prints but I would prefer to have scans (its takes topo long to use my flatbed).

Cheers.

Forget about it. Digital is much cheaper and, in my opinion, a much much better medium for manipulation and what not as well as storage. I'm an analog freak on everything except film - digital in my mind just tops it.

Yes you do have a point. Especially for me, where i use film for everything including everyday snapshots. I do love the feel of film and I especially enjoy using discrete, hardy film rangefinders with nice and simple controls. I'm thinking if i can save up some pennys i will buy a Sigma DP2, DMC L1 (w 25mm 2.8) or that new olymus u4/3 camera for everyday use and use film for my special stuff.

Meanwhile though i'd love to have a cheaper way!

shoot black and white and develop at home. Especially if you buy bulk film.
You can do colour at home too but it's a bit more involved so start up with mono
