These shots are okay.

The rest are frickin' awesome.

(Although in the interests of full disclosure,
>>78623
would be a hell of a lot better without all the people blocking your shot)

Blade Runner was merely a homage to the Noir genre, and its dark-light contrasting imagery.

lol Los Angeles, 2019. Needs more neons!

Casablanca was merely a homage to the romantic drama genre, and its depiction of people in love with each other.

Blade Runner, like many works, drew on Noir, but wasn't an "homage."

An "homage" is a work made as a tribute to some older thing. "Grindhouse," for instance, is an homage to, well, old grindhouse films. Like most homages, it's pretty mediocre in its own right.

"Blade Runner," on the other hand, is one of the best films of all time, and can't be just called "a sci-fi noir" anymore than you can call Allen Ginsberg's work "grittier, gayer Jewish-Buddhist Walt Whitman."

Needs to be in black and white, with just a smidge more contrast.

>>78622
Okay. Needs to be tighter: you should've shifted a bit around and either used a longer lens or moved in closer. Would benefit from being in black and white. Good opportunity, but it didn't really work out for you.

>>78623
Unlike AC, I think the people "in the way" add to it. Without them, it'd just be a photographic quip; as it is, the image has this air of anxiety and menace to it. Nice use of color. Overall, great work.

>>78624
Cool-looking but insubstantial.

>>78625
Great contrast between subjects, but the composition didn't pan out. Again, missed chance, and again, would benefit from being in black and white. If you had a view camera or a lens baby to pull off selective focus, and just had the guy and the Porsche logo sharp and everything else slightly out of focus, that would've been great, but hey, I doubt anyone on these boards owns a view camera and most (including myself) probably don't own a lens baby.

>>78627
I don't like it, but I can't put my finger on why.

>>78644
AC's right. Meh.

>>78645
Great use of depth of field, and the subtle color's really nice. Good work.

>>78677
Shots like this are fun to make, but really don't do much.

>>78680
Very great, good color, although something seems a little off. I want to say the closest guy seems a little out of focus, but looking at it, I don't really see that. I see something else off.

>>78688
Again, cool-looking but insubstantial.

>>>>78693
Nice concept and so on, but it didn't work out. Something about this photograph just throws it all off, and I can't pin down what.
