Sure, save it. I saved the post by fence. Although it makes more sense if we see both posts together like so.

We'll see come August. I have no insider information, just a wild ass guess.

When I say "less than $1700 used" I mean "about $1000 or so."

Dust can be cleaned; shutters take ages to go and can be replaced. While money can be *laundered*, wasted money can't be replaced, and all money tends to go really, really fast.

Then you should fucking say "about $1000 or so" instead of "less than $1700", which could easily be $1699.

Oh, and people aren't going to sell their 5Ds for a third of what they paid for them. Two reasons:

1 - the 5D is still an excellent camera. 4 more megapixels, 2fps faster, live view -- that's hardly a deal-killer for most people. People aren't going to take a giant loss just to get some negligible feature improvements
2 - The EOS 5D started at $3299.

Go die in a fire. What you're saying is retarded.

They currently can be had for around $1700 used, so "Less than $1700" makes sense. I.e., he's saying he wants the used prices to drop.

Also: People likely *are* going to be selling their used 5Ds for a third of what they paid for them, especially given that they're currently (with no clear successor) selling for two thirds of the original cost. Are you new to the technology world? Old tech drops sharply in value when new tech comes out. Maybe the 5dII/7D/3D/5dPro/1DsAmat or whatever won't have significantly better image quality than the 5D, but it might have a bunch of other features that people want. Maybe it'll go up to a clean ISO25,6000 thanks to three years worth of improvements in sensor/microlens design. And all of the people who just have to have the newest shiny toy will be offloading their 5Ds to get the new one.
