soup /p/, I bought some cheap lens cleaning solution and a microfiber cloth, but it left a residue on the lens which I can't get rid of. How do I eliminate the residue without buying bottles of that ROR stuff and having to wait forever for them to arrive?EXIF data available. >>103422I prefer to use emery cloth. I attach the lens to a lathe with the chuck and then start it up, buffing the marks off with the cloth as it spins. Works great every time.
>>103423Thanks!!! I'm glad I have a spare lathe and a few emery cloths lying around.
>>103425No problem! Glad I could be of help. :)
>>103426You know, before I take the residue off my 50mm f/1.4, I should test this method out on my 70-200mm f/2.8L IS. Once again, thanks for the advice ^_^ ^_^ ^_^
>>103421I heard those Lenspens do a good job.
>>103427Sure! You'll probably find it much easier to do on a larger lens. It's less fiddly and delicate for the beginner. Once you've got that one done with confidence you can start on the rest. Good luck. :)
