So I recently came back from a trip to Vancouver, being a noob with my xti I only had the bare minimum with me (whatever came with the camera) as I'm still learning but I came to a realization that I sorely lack a tripod and a wide angle lens, any suggestions to get me started without breaking my bank ?
in b4 dumbass replies.

Pic related sort of.

didn't your xti come with the 18-55mm?
that's a wide angle..

or are you after an ultra wide angle lens?
also... why do you think you'll need a tripod? what or when are you shooting?

Sigma 10-20mm or Tamron 11-18mm
Bogen Manfrotto 190XPROB + 486RC2 or 804RC2

I was after a ultra wide angle sorry for the confusion.
The tripod for night time long exposures.
thanks for the swift reply.

the post above you are some excellent recommendations. ...
i own the canon 10-22mm and it performs very well, get that if you want the best ultra wide for your xti.
otherwise the tamron is a pretty good option for someone on a budget..

Just how much are those lenses going for in your area ?
Checking out two popular stores here in Canada the lenses go for about $650 with the tamron being slightly more expensive.

the canon goes for around 900 canadian dollars in australia.
should be around the same price in canada or even cheaper.
try ebay maybe?
