hey /p/

I don't really have high hopes for this question since, if I had to guess, I'd say that the average age of a /p/oster here is 14 and their first and only camera is a D40. That said:

I recently acquired an old MF Voigtlander from the estate of a family friend who passed away. Inside it was a roll of Kodak Verichome Pan, fully shot. I rewound it before opening (habit). I was planning to develop the film in D-76, since it's a Kodak product, and I found some info on the massive development chart. I may also keep the process cool (like less than 20 degrees C) to try and reduce fog. However, I have no idea how old the film is or anything else about the exposures on the roll. Verichrome Pan hasn't been made in years, and the backing paper is definitely old (if I had to guess I'd say 1960s to 70s design). The camera has been in a dark box for years.

Is there anything else special I should do to maximize the chance of getting images? Is the film likely to disintegrate? Any tips at all?

Don't be such a douche. He's just referring to the fact that people just starting out that young (and most likely the majority of the people on 4chan) would be too young to have experience with these things. He didn't say they were all cretins.

if the voigtlaender you got is a perkeo II, i envy you so fucking much, you wouldn't believe how much.

if not, still envy you for getting a free voigtlaender, but not as much.

There's a guy on Photo.net who's always souping old film. At any given time he should have a thread open in the relevant section, and he as a pretty big archive of found film shots on a separate site too. You should probably ask him for help.

Speaking of age, I wonder how old the other tripfags are here. And how old do you guys think I am?

I'm 19; I'm going to guess you're in the latter half of your twenties.

Good point, I should just have said "wound" :p. It may not have been completely shot but I know that I didn't wind 12 exposures worth of film. I'm not extremely experienced with medium format.

Alas it's a Perkeo I. No rangefinder. But I'm used to guesstimating distances from my Minox, so I get the feeling that it will be okay. And yes, it's a really fucking awesome camera. It's actually smaller than any of my SLRs :D

what lens, or lenses did you get with it?

Only one lens, since it's a folder. It's the f/4.5 Vaskar. I bought some Pan F and HP4 and I'll start shooting those as soon as I get this roll developed -- I understand it's a good lens, though, considering that the camera predates multicoating and it's a plain triplet.
