Tech question (don't hate me). I bought an old Canon 50mm f/1.8 FD mount prime lens off eBay for my brother's AE-1, since the 28-105 zoom he is using is moldy and awful. Now, the optics in the lens are pristine, but the aperture blades seem to be stuck at about f/11. The lens is functional enough aside from that (the aperture setting ring still turns, the blades just don't go with it). Any ideas where and what the problem could be? Is this something fixable? Or would I be better off just buying another 50mm? This one only cost me about $20 with shipping, so it's not a great loss if it's shot.

this lens is actually quite easy to open up, but the problem i think would be the arm that turns the aperture blades is either broken or out of alignment. If thats the case if you had a part you could fix it, but otherwise you don't stand a chance, Buy a new one and mess with this one, its fun to get the glass out of them anyway!
