Kodachrome isn't a normal slide film, it's developed by a K-14 process. Cross processing, as far as I know, only works from E6 (standard slide film) to C41 and vice versa. If you try and process your Kodachrome in C41, it's just going to come out blank. Also, I think if you want to get it developed as positives, there's only one or two places left that still do it, so you have to send it off.
