Hello /p/ this is my first post here. I was digging around in my garage and came across an old camera of my fathers. He has always been the type to upgrade his gadgets alot and has abandoned this camera.

Its a cannon AE-1. Im not sure how old it is, but it seems to be in good condition except for a missing lens cover. I know nothing about photography. Are these camera any good? Are they worth anything?

It should take great pictures. Load it up with some film and try it out.

Give the shutter a few dozen operations to make sure it is fully loosened and won't stick. Work all the mechanical stuff for the same reason. Cameras left in storage for a long time can need a little kick like that to get them smooth again and prevent it going when you've got a roll in it.

The camera is plenty good for you to get out there and start shooting..

i used to have a nikon 5600. hate that fucking camera.

The camera should be good for shooting, but isn't worth much for sale.

Nobody is doing film photography any more so the resale value on film cameras has fallen through the floor.

I used to shoot infrared on one of these. Great cameras.
