sup /fit/I've got a cold recently, and I hate colds. I was thinking of going on a fast to divert all my body's energy to fighting off this virus or whatever instead of having to spend any energy on digestion. However, I still have classes to go to and work to do. Is fasting a bad idea for people who can't stay at home in bed all week? Should I stop exercising? Would drinking juices and water be enough to keep me going while my body purges?
anyone?
your supposed to over-eat with a cold, a starve a fever.
also, if you go to the gym, dont bother. It will make it worse/longer to egt rid of it naturally. just eat more than usual, get more sleep than usual, and you should be rid of it in a week or 2.
>>34793a fever: the body is deliberately overheating itself to kill invading microscopic invaders. don't distract it with food to digest, that takes like half your blood into your stomach for an hour or something.a cold... probably missing some nutrients or something? that's how eating lots can help, fight.
cold=virus means that the only way to SPEED ALONG recovery is to give your body the nutrients it need s to fight it off.
Keep eating. Don't "redirect energy."Echinacea, Vitamin C and rest helps. Other than that just let it run its course.
