So a while ago I was reading this thread about an overweight guy who wanted to lose weight fast blah blah. Typical /fit/ stuff. Anyway, there was a reply on that thread about how he should diet. I saved it (and will post in a sec) in case I wanted to try it out some time. And, well... I did. I just wanted to make some comments on how well its working out.
>> This is the other gentlemans post. J
DIET:

From this point on, you no longer drink sodas, sugary fruit drinks, or alcohol, or coffee. You now only drink water and unsweetened tea.

From this point on, you no longer eat white bread, ever.

From this point on, you no longer eat any pork product or processed meat, ever.

Form this point on you no longer eat any other fat/sugar combo candy crap snacks at all.

From this point on, you avoid fatty add-ons like cheese and sour cream and mayo. Lean meat already has enough fat in it.

Food is now on there for one purpose, to feed you protein and good carbs as efficiently as possible. You do not care about how it tastes, if it has the nutrition you need, its fucking delicious.

-Buy cans of chicken breast, and frozen boneless/skinless chicken breasts, eat one a day somehow no matter what.

-Buy eggs, boil them, peel them, and put them in the fridge.

-Buy cottage cheese. Learn to like it with berries in it.

-Buy beans, learn how to cook and eat them every day.

-Buy bananas and toilet paper

-Buy oatmeal, one flavored instant, and one big tub of the boring unflavored. Mix them half and half every morning for breakfast with a boiled egg and a banana a multivitamin and a glass of milk. This is more important than any other meal. You fucking eat it and love it.

Eat 5 meals a day. Never get hungry, never get full. Get some carbs and protein a couple of hours before your workout, and take some more protein and carbs within 30 minutes after.

There it is, a first month plan. The first month will decide if you can make the rest. Because if you stick to it (for real) in month one, you'll feel like a fucking million dollars and will drop at least 2" on your waist.

Make a commitment for one month. Test your integrity.

GOOD LUCK, and keep us updated!

Anyway. I have completely cut any kind of soda or anything else for that matter besides water and unsweetened tea. It really isn't that hard to do, either. If you ever get a craving for anything just chug some water and it generally goes away.

One major thing I've changed, though, is eating breakfast. I never used to eat breakfast and I'd be starving by mid day for some lunch, and I would usually splurge and eat some carls jr or whatever, and then a large dinner about 4 hours later. After starting to eat breakfast, I have not gotten any more cravings for fast food or anything of the like. I will eat a bowl of cereal in the morning and then a small sandwich with wheat bread and light turkey. I try to eat every two hours. But anyway... Eating breakfast works, and I already feel much better.

I have tried several of the different types of recipe's/foods listed above, and seriously... even if it doesn't taste that great, I feel full and energized, and it gets rid of those cravings for bad habits.

damn, this is what i needed. thanks much!

On top of all that, I have also been working out once a day, and I plan on continuing to do so for as long as necessary, and hopefully longer. I may move it down to 5 days a week once I get comfortable, but I'm not sure yet. Every day I go to the gym, though... I notice an increase in my stamina and I feel stronger and stronger each time. I have only been doing this for about 4 days, but I still am starting to feel a change.

Anyway... I just wanted to give you all an update, and to whoever wrote the above post THANK YOU! I appreciate it, and I hope I can keep it up.

You can buy a pre-cooked chicken from your local super market. Back in college, I used to go buy a gallon of whole milk and a chicken every evening after my lifting sessions and polish that shit off. You might want to eat 1 chicken for maybe two days though.

That's a hardcore diet...

>>You fucking eat it and love it.
I lol'd. Hard.

The chicken breast is fine and all...the only mod I would make is tuna.

i have unflavored unsweetened instant oatmeal. i add cinnamon and honey. it's fucking delicious.

What about just cooking the eggs w/ a touch of olive oil? I fucking detest hardbolied eggs, if I eat one, taste or not, it's coming back up.

>coffee

The guy clearly has no idea what he's talking about.

Caffeine is metabolized into three metabolic dimethylxanthines which each have their own effects on the body:

* Paraxanthine (84%): Has the effect of increasing lipolysis, leading to elevated glycerol and free fatty acid levels in the blood plasma.
* Theobromine (12%): Dilates blood vessels and increases urine volume. Theobromine is also the principal alkaloid in cocoa, and therefore chocolate.
* Theophylline (4%): Relaxes smooth muscles of the bronchi, and is used to treat asthma. The therapeutic dose of theophylline, however, is many times greater than the levels attained from caffeine metabolism.

>pork

Nothing fucking wrong with pork.

>From this point on, you avoid fatty add-ons like cheese

Eating fat does not make you fat.

Listen, losing fat is not hard. Create a caloric deficit of about 20% per day and it will happen no matter where you get your calories. To make this process more efficient, do things like eat complex carbs in the morning, eat a lot of lean protein, motherfucking exercise, etc. The SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT THING is the caloric deficit though, and the guy didn't even mention it.

Wait, whoa, caffeine burns fat?

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

Brb eating coffee grounds.

Pretty much everything he suggested will give you a deficit if you're going from eating like a typical fatass to eating clean. Not to mention going off all the fatty shit for as little as a week or two made me, at least, stop craving it.
No, fat isn't bad. Cheese/sour cream is usually shitty saturated fat, and as a rule not great for you. Mayo is debatable, but if you're going for a deficit is better to avoid.
BLACK coffee is all right. Coffee laden with cream and sugar and flavorings and lard is not.

I need to get back on track. I'm starting this tomorrow.

when you say 5 small meals a day, what sort of things would you class as a small meal?
>> Anonymous
Got a question about eating 5 meals a day. What kinda stuff should I be eating when it comes to 5 meals a day. I know what can eat for breakfast lunch and dinner, but about the 2 meals in b/w. Any suggestions?
>> Anonymous
>>419550
Eating 5 meals a day does nothing over eating 3 meals a day. Just eat when you can, but be sure to eat correctly and get your calories and protein.
>> Anonymous
>>419567
Oh, so basically you can eat 3 normal meals or like 5 small meals just as long as you get the proper nutrition you need right?
>> Anonymous
>>419031
NOTHING WRONG WITH SATURATED FAT YOU FUCKING DOUCHE
>> J
>>419550
I usually start with a bowl of cereal like total raisin bran. than about two hours later I have a sandwich with wheat bread and lean turkey. and then for lunch I'll have a bowl of Pho or rice cakes. Dinner I will have a chicken breast and then I'll try to eat a type of vegetable for my last meal. Just remember, Don't eat carbs at night, start with carbs in the morning/lunch

The point to eating more often during the day is to keep your body's metabolism consistently high throughout the day.
