>>368183 Wrong. Well, partly wrong, anyways. There isn't any real bad reason to drink 100% fruit juice. The only real reason I could find is that because It takes quite a bit of oranges to make about a 12-20 oz. drink. I know quite a few people don't use a measuring cup; This means your drink has about 2-4 servings of fruit or more - Which can be bad because of the possible sugar "overload". Also, I can find better ways to enjoy my fruits.
You also say that even though it can be "!00% squeezed", meaning natural, straight from the orange itself, it is still "pretty 'empty calories'" - Which is almost completely wrong. The "empty calorie" slang is only applied to foods with a poor nutritional profile. Last I remember, oranges do not have a poor nutrition profile. They are very nutritious, sugary, yes, but far from being "empty calories".
>>368201 If you restrict your servings to about 4-8 oz per, then it's "okay". As long as it's pure orange juice - No additives or artificial flavors.
>>368323 Fructose and Sucrose are metabolized differently in the bloodstream. Sure, they share similar consequences if you over consume them, but saying refined tables sugars are the same as natural fruit sugars is just absurd.
