/fit/... I have two vaguely related questions. Perhaps someone can help me.

First, I have been lifting for nearly a year, but my strength gains seem to have stalled with many lifts. My muscle mass is still increasing, but in some exercises I have actually gotten worse. Generally, I work out 4 times a week and train different muscle groups each day. I almost invariably perform three sets of 10 for each lift. Anyone have some advice as to whether this is normal or what else I could try to increase my strength?

Second, I can't do a pullup. I train on assisted pullup machine, but I never seem to improve much. Has anyone else had this problem or does anyone have suggestions?

I already have ideas as to what to do for both of these, so inb4 google, but I figured I would try asking anyways.
