Sick and tired of being flabby Anonymous
Dear anon. I've been fat for a while now; I've always been the fattest person in my family. I weigh 200 pounds +/- 3. I'm 5'7" and am constantly feeling sad and sick and weak. I want to change all of that around but I don't know how. I always go to websites and ask others who are into fitness what to do but they always give me some sort of bullshit that makes absolutely no sense. I need help anon. I feel heart pains and am constantly sick etc. Do any of you know how of a guide that would help me get both the nutritional and the exercise parts down that any of you go by?

Throw away soda and junk food.
Buy a bicycle
Start pedaling

Ok, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. This is how you change.

Ready?

You actually go out and excersize, instead of sitting at home and thinking about it day after day. Thinking = bad, Doing = good.

>>Throw away soda

Do that. Stop drinking soda completely. Yes, this includes "Diet" soda.

Just stop.

"Diet" Sodas make me laugh so hard, my head hurts.

Well, the thing is that I've actually taken things into my own hands before. I don't just "think" about it. Before I used to run (not jog) a mile 3-4 times a week. I saw steady improvements, but then I got injured and stopped. Though I get chest pains at times I have beaten people which are considered to be normal for their weight up to a sixfold longer at endurance when doing any type of cardiovascular work. Plus, this is all AFTER I stopped exercising completely.

With my running I took matters into my own hand and started exercising. This was, too, a way to do something that was safe which no one recommended to me. I did some other exercises as well, and change my diet to be much healthier but keep my caloric intake equal to my weight with the (weight)(12)=cal intake. It actually worked pretty well and I lost a few pounds. But that's about it.

My diet is relatively normal and I eat junk food VERY sparingly if at all. I already have the drive and determination to do this. I want to be fit and strong, but I don't know how. I do get up and do things, but know that I'm doing them wrong. Every guide that I've tried is either incomplete or doesn't explain what I have to do well.

My long term goal, is to not only be healthy, but to have a toned body.

Would someone please tell me what the fuck is wrong with diet sodas? And don't give me some "unknown long-term effects" bullshit.

It's a pathetic attempt to lose weight.
Just stop drinking sodas.

your fat when you sweat

First off, stop eating within 4 hours of going to sleep and wait as long as possible after you wake up to eat.
This is when your body is burning the most fat (its fasting)
so you want to maintain that as long as possible.
Buy a membership to a gym and go start lifting weights/doing some cardio.
It will suck at first (considering you are likely out of shape) but itll get ALOT easier once u get used to it.
But remember - exercise is only 20% of the battle.
the other 80% is DIET. (Avoid cheese, mayonaise, butter, and sweets [which of corse includes sodas])
u can run 20 miles a day, but if the second your done you go eat 3 big macs and 2 supersize fries and wash it down with a 3 liter bottle of coke ur not doing urself any favors.

Is it a good idea to exercise while fasting after waking up in the morning?

I'd say eat something first, like a granola bar, to take your body out of a catabolic state. Otherwise, your body will eat your muscles for energy

ITT: dumb fitness myths that idiots still perpetuate.

This is exactly what I meant. You see how you guys are disagreeing with each other etc? That's exactly why I find in so many guides/opinions. I just want to find one guide that's proven to work and is effective all around.

The only thing you need to know is that to lose weight, you must consume less calories than what your body expends.

watch what you eat, and exercise. unless you're a freak of nature, you will lose weight.

Then just obey the simplest guide there is. Three meals a day, all of them relatively healthy. Moderate exercise, going outside and running every once in awhile, and not eating before sleep.

It'll work I promise.

>three meals
Make that five or six, but with roughly the same total caloric content.

5-6 meals a day, 30-40 minutes of cardio everyday (start slow and work your way up the intensity ladder), roughly 400-500 calories fewer than what you normally eat (get counting), a balanced diet including protein, complex carbs, unsaturated fats. An example day is oatmeal and eggs in the morning, then some cottage cheese and fruit, a tuna sandwich next(use real bread, none of that Wonder Bread shit), then veggies and a chicken breast for dinner, and something else light at night (some fruits/veggies and a glass of skim milk perhaps). Add another snack if you'd like.

The most important thing you can do is anything. Don't let the conflicting advice keep you from acting.

Here's a great source to get you started. It tells you pretty much verbatim what you need to do and how much of it.
