Anyone ever tried electrically stimulating body parts, including brain, for either fun or tissue stimulation/rejuvenation?

i had this done on my knee.
the physiotherapist who did it also misdiagnosed my torn meniscus (causing a cyst) as "my hamstring pulling on my tibia causing it to elongate"

so id say its safe to assume its quackery

OP here, I remember my mother getting treatment for arthritis with some sort of frequency/vibration/thing and she said it was pretty addictive because a doctor would put it on a low setting, and walk away

Post knee operation I was stimulating my thigh muscles with electricity so that my brain could 'relearn' the neural pathway to my leg or whatever.

It sounded really technical when my physiotherapist said it, but I just thought it was uncomfortable and didn't bring any visible results more than burn marks.
