So. I'm joining the Navy, as a Gunner's Mate, and I am volunteering for BUD/S [Basic Underwater Demolitions/SEALs] qualifying so I can become a SEAL with the sole intent of killing foriegners for shits and giggles.

QUESTION IS. I've got 6 weeks before I ship to boot camp. NIGRAS I NEEDS A WORKOUT PLAN or just some general bullshit on how to get shit done.

I can already run a mile in 10:20 and can do 100 pushups in 2 minutes. I need a six-week workout I can do without a partner and at the fitness facility at the nearby Nellis Air Force Base.

Fuck off, I use my eyebrows as weapons. The left one masquerades as an Afghani woman to lure in the terrorists, and the right one snags him in a messy web of steel-like black fibers. Then I leave him there until he starves to death.

OP here, that's cool and all; but I am lookin for some helpful hints and tips to increase my overall strength, stamina and speed so I can be the best SEAL I can be before I even hit bootcamp. A headstart on other applicants, if you will.

that's a pretty bad mile time if you want to be in the military at all let alone a navy seal...do hiit until you can run 5k in 18 mins..

Navy SEALs 1.5 mile run qualifying time is 10:20 in long pants and boots. I've gotten to 10:20 single mile run in long pants and boots.

Shit, Army Basic mile run time is 15:00. AIR FORCE mile run time is something around 2 hours, give or take a day or two of partying. Lazy-ass Chair Force.

Jesus OP, you're thinking 6 weeks to seal with a run time like that? I would suggest not volunteering until you're further along with that aspect of the game. Anyways, you need to run long distance, swim like crazy, be able to do gross amounts of pullups, dips, pushups (not bad btw), and ab exercises as well as fuck with the log. You also have to be able to endure the retarded coldness of going from water to not water and learn to fight the current. So...uh...workout plan now...hm.

Well, swimming is swimming and running is running. You will need to swim a good bit, in cammies which is hard as balls if you're not used to it. Find a shit pair of cammies and hop in and for the running you will need to run beyond your current means, so try to get distances runs in as much as possible without it turning into that baby step "oh god im gonna die" panting bullshit, at that point you might as well catch your breath and start running again. If I remember watching that seals indoc, oh ok yeah I found this: http://www.baseops.net/basictraining/navyseals/fitness.html
I remembered seeing like a ten mile run but it appears to be 14 miles (and they do time it but it may not be pass/fail, they can only take so many into further training). Like I previous stated....train for a while before wasting your time on the indoc (not to sound like a bitch, i'm sure you can do it eventually but in your current state you would probably go catabolic during the beginning if not get sick as balls and lose weight).

TGU's up overhead strength, pullups, dips, pushups, flutter kicks, all kinds of bullshit ab shit focused on endurance, swimming and running.

I thought marines navy and air force are a part of the army?

i always imagined the physical requirements to be more strict for SEALs since they're supposed to be the best of the best. maybe there's mental shit too.

For those who think it is REALLY that hard:

Minimum
500-yard (457 m) swim using breast or side stroke in under 12:30
At least 42 push-ups in 2 minutes
At least 50 sit-ups in 2 minutes
At least 6 pull-ups from a dead hang (no time limit)
Run 1.5 miles (2.4 km) in running shoes and shorts in under 11:30

Competative (What I'm close to reaching)
500-yard swim using breast or combat side stroke in 10:00 minutes
79 push-ups in 2 minutes
79 sit-ups in 2 minutes
11 pull-ups from a dead hang (no time limit)
Run 1.5 miles in boots and long pants in 10:20

Keep in mind I'm third generation in a Navy Family, and my mom's been married five times to men in different services. I've been to 39 states, lived on 5 different bases and spent time aboard two Navy vessels.

I know a fair amount of SEALs, and people who work with them. I lived in San Diego, near Coronado aka SEALs Hometown where all the training takes place. It will be the hardest thing I have ever attempted, but believe I am dedicated enough to do this.

I'm 5'11 and 225 right now. I have 23% bodyfat, can run 1.5 miles in under 11 minutes, and in fact I can beat all the minimum times right now. I'm looking for tips on how to get into optimal shape so that when I do volunteer I will be a hop, skip and a jump further than the rest of those I will be training with. Thank you for the advice you did provide, though, I will put it to use.

Troll.
>> Anonymous
>>82134
are you supposed to do all those things consecutively? if so then i could see how that mile time is justified.
>> Anonymous
>>82136
Consecutively over the span of a day, with short rests inbetween. The swims are not in cammies to the best of my knowledge.
>> Anonymous
>>82136
Also, it really can take all day. There are alot of people who volunteer and many get cut during the qualification. Especially since some events are not timed, it can stretch the overall qualifying exam to 10 hours.
>> Anonymous
6 minute mile should be a basic req for all members of the military. Shit I think police officers have to be able to run a mile in 10 mins.
>> Anonymous
>>82143
Then our military would be less than half its current size and we would be the world's bitch.

Meet some military people. The military is really not that hard. Shit, the Air Force alone is like some cushy office job. Navy is a bunch of pot-bellied men and women on a ship sailin' about. Army is a bunch of pot-bellied men shootin other people, and the Marines are all beefy beefcakes killing anything that moves.

The real "military-syle" people like what you see in movies is the special forces people. And even then it's the top tier.

Just, puttin it out there. Military is easy, just disciplined.
>> Moonmauler !!LgNbdvCFAuN
>>82156
>Military is easy, just disciplined.

It depends on your MOS. I wouldn't really call lugging around 100lbs worth of gear, carrying a 40lbs gun and getting shot at in 125 degree weather for months on end "easy".
>> Anonymous
>>82156

Beefy beefcake killer here. It's dependent on unit, MOS, active/reserve, a lot of factors. Infantry will always be in better shape than the airwing but oddball units here and there may put higher emphasis on fitness and have an overall higher PFT than one of the more physically related MOS's. Generally speaking army, airforce, and navy are all pretty weaksauce with the Marines only caring about rifle scores and PFT's regardless of job. However, there are some Armyfags out there than can kick my ass for sure and there is a particular staff sergeant in the AF that could kill us all with his fucking pinky finger. Either way, for any active duty service the number that have been posted are....well theyre on the borderline between funny and downright sad.
>> Anonymous
Ahahaha. BUD/S has a 90% failure rate.

You are not coming close to passing with those scores.

You best be joking nigger. The scores on site are basically to get pussies to try out and fail and then the navy gets to put you where it wants. Do you think SEALS really accept the minimum, or even the maxiumum? They expect above the maximum.
>> Anonymous
<www.crossfit.com>. All the elite SEALS are doing it.
>> Anonymous
You're not SEAL material right now from the looks of it, both in attitude and physical ability. Those 80% of the people that drop out even during the first phases of BUD/S drop out for entirely obvious reasons, and meeting the minimum numbers for qualification isn't even the half of it. Some people prepare for almost a year for BUD/S and end up washing out near the beginning.

>>so I can become a SEAL with the sole intent of killing foriegners for shits and giggles.

I know you're probably joking (I hope you are), but that bullshit is the entirely wrong mindset for wanting to become a SEAL.

You've also got some pretty skewed information and some inaccurate assumptions about how the military is easy (ie. Army mile run time qualification being 15:00, which isn't true).
