I put a lot of stock into BMI, and the BMI's are similar. I guess the height doesn't really matter, I was just wondering how much I looked like I weighed.

You have no head nor shins. That reduces significant weight.

5'9" and 160

Yeah, I know you guys on /fit/ hate BMI, but I don't have another way to kinda place how my body looks and how healthy I am. I never got body fat percentage done or anything, and I'm just trying to look normal, as I used to be really skinny before I started working out about a year ago.

Anyway, my goal is to get to 185 lbs. Wish me luck.

why is BMI so bad?
>> Anonymous
>>292783
Because it only counts hieght and weight. not body fat or muscle mass.

when mike tyson was at the apex of his career he'd go into the ring at around 220 @ 5' 11" his bmi was a 30. a bmi that high is supposedly more than just overweight, they classify it as obese. Mike tyson was not obese he was a fucking machine.

It still puts a greater load on the heart to pump blood to all the muscle. While it is not as unhealthy as being fat, being that big is not as healthy as being say 40 lbs lighter that weight/height and still being fit.

well he is a human and i ppl are stupid when they mention race or allude to something racist, if he did it someone else can do it too.
>>292834
true but the man was a boxer and probably had a lot of cardio behind him making his heart efficient at pumping blood regardless of the fact that he had a lot of muscle.
