Hey /fit/!
I have a wedding in nov. 29th and i need to lose my little tummy. I'll be the maid of honor and i want to look good. The bride already choosed my dress and well... the zipper gets stuck in my waist. She had my old measurements and due to winter, i growed a little beer gut. And due the dress, i can't wear a corset under... i tryied to do it but the goddamn zipper just gets stucked there... and is very notorious under.
I need to slim from 25.35 to 23 (my usual measurement).
Any tip? I've readed here that crunches doesn't work, that work, that i need to do cardio, that cardio doesn't work, so i'm a little confused.... i'm those girls that saves fat just in her stomach, i have tiny arms and legs (actually doing squats to get a little ass, it works fantastic, so thanks fit, SQUATS ARE THE SHIT)

measurements and stuff: w: 107, h: 5'4, b: 34 w: 25.35 h: 34 need to slim waist to 23 to fit the dress...

Just run, and watch what you eat. There's no way around it. When I say watch what you eat, I don't mean that you need to starve. 3 meals a day is minimum, more meals with lesser portion is better. Eat shit load of veggies (tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, spinach, romaine lettuce etc). Cut junk food.

I'm asking if cardio works or not. I have an eliptical bije in my house, i use it almost 1 hour 3 times at week, but i haven't see any advance.

From one female to another, let me make a suggestion:

Diuretics. Females tend to retain water like cacti, especially during warmer months (summer just ended) and at certain points during our cycles. Diuretics are quick (but temporary) fixes. If you don't want to take water pills, try drinking cranberry juice. And watch your salt intake. Try to keep the sodium to a minimum.

As everyone suggests, run. Decrease your carb intake. More cardio = better. Higher intensity cardio (I.E. running at a fast pace) will burn your fat after you've finished working out (by raising resitng metabolic rate). The slower type of cardio (walking) will use fat as a primary source of energy (as opposed to glycogen(sugar)).

And as that "other woman" (inb4 no wimmenz etc) suggests, you can lose alot of weight by simply cutting down your water intake. Body builders do this also and lose up to 7-9kgs before a comp. Not exactly reccommended but hey, you've got a gut.

If you're going to run, do it right and do interval training. 20 seconds sprinting, 10 seconds slow, rinse and repeat 8 times in a row. Increase the amount of cycles as you get in better shape.

More important than running, though, is your diet, and honestly, weight training. Muscle will increase your metabolic rate and give you exercise while you're lifting.
