I have a Q, for /fit/

In terms of weight/fat loss, would a diet of chocolate amounting to 1500 calories per day, be equal to a diet of fruit and vegetables amounting to 1500 calories per day?

Obviously I know the latter would be the healthier and more nutritious option, but I'm not asking for what's the healthiest, I'd like to know if the there would be a difference purely in terms of weight/fat loss between the two, despite being the same overall calories.

weight loss? pretty equal. Fat loss? A world of difference. Why eat only veggies and fruits though? You need some protein to get lean.

The Atkins Diet Causes you to go into a state of Kitosis, which is a form of starvation. your body starts burning Fat AND Muscle for energy.

And to OP...

The biggest problem between 1500 calories of chocolate vs 1500 calories of Fruit/Veg is mostly the amount.

1500 calories of chocolate is about 4-5 bars of toblerone. 1500 calories of Fruit and veg is about 30 apples and as much veggies as you wanted. With the chocolate, You'll crash faster than Black Monday.

If you'd have to pick a single food type to live on for the rest of your life, It's gotta be eggs. It provides good calories, lots of neutrients, and there are more ways to prepare it than the amount of days in a year.

I wouldn't recommend it though. Having only fruits and veg is not very different from starving yourself. Unbalanced Diets, any of them, will lead to a crash.

You have to think more along the lines of "Hmm, How can I eat regularly while staying in shape?" The problem may just be as simple as having a bit more vegetables, having a bit more activity in your life like exercise or just simply walking sometimes instead of using the car, and my personal fav, shop regularly and don't stock a lot of food.

Also, If you're binging out of habit, you might have other problems. Either you're addicted to food or you're using food as a substitute for something else.

Thermogenic properties. It's harder for your body to digest veggies, it will burn more calories doing so than with chocolate

The body is most efficient at absorbing fat from foods. So the body would easily absorb all 1500 calories of fat and store it. If you ate 1500 calories of carbs, protien, fruits, your body would absorb less of it, so maybe you'll technically end up with less. That's what I've always thought, I don't know though.
