Eating 6x/day versus 3x/day only makes a slight difference. If you're eating unhealthily, it's much more important to start eating right 3x a day than trying to change your habits to eating 6x a day.
The 6x/day thing is more of a tweak you apply once you're more intermediate, as it doesn't make much difference. If you don't have much cash, advice for you is do what I did; learn to cook. Every time you cook, cook for 6 meals and freeze the remainder so you can just microwave it. Make sammiches the night before to take to work. Eat oatmeal + 2% milk for breakfast. Eat sunflower seeds (cheap as shit and great macronutrient ratios).
Buy on-sale meat in bulk and freeze it, and on-sale shit like whole pasta and rice which don't need freezing.
Go to www.dpsnutrition.net, you can get great protein powder (10lbs) for only like $60 plus shipping, which will last over a month. I used to balk at the price of protein powders until I realised it's actually the cheapest way to get protein...
