To OP - Could you possible fill us in on what exercises exactly your hands start to blister and callus up? I have a similar problem, except I get VERY bad blistering and calluses that I have to file (incidentally, the same way the beast skills website does it, except with a pumice stone) after I do pull-ups and dead lift.
While I agree that some callusing and enduring a little bit of discomfort to harden up the hands is necessary, but when you start doing 20-30 plus pull-ups a workout and you pick up very heavy dumbbells (especially those godforsaken extra-serrated motherfuckers that every 24hr fitness has) and barbells (rows, deadlift, etc) you want to take care of your hands and prevent your calluses from ripping out, causing your hands to bleed all over the fucking place, and end up not being able to train properly because of it. Some people (myself included) get callused and blistered hands more easily than others.
By the way, gloves have no place whatsoever in weightlifting unlike straps, which I can find maybe a very few instances (snatch grip deadlifts, 2.5x bodyweight or more DL training, yes as you can tell I love deadlifts). No exceptions.
