sup /fit/ Anybody know of a way to test body fat without a machine I'm 5'8'' 210 right now and yes i do have a beer gut and fathandles. Aside from that before that I went on a diet and lost about 40lbs and really could do nothing more to lose any more weight I felt in shape and looked fit too.. however every BMI calculator or hight weight test still said i was overweight??? So that left me with one conclusion anyway to test for body fat without a machine??

In during BMI doesn't matter/work for people with muscle, and is pretty much useless for normal people too. Body fat % can be measured with calipers. "The skinfold estimation methods are based on a skinfold test, whereby a pinch of skin is precisely measured by calipers at several standardized points on the body to determine the subcutaneous fat layer thickness."

Costs about 35 $ methinks

as far as i know, you need to be properly trained to actually get measurements off of calipers.

just buy a 30 dollar digital scale with bodyfat measurement.

There isn't any way to do it without a machine.

I f you really want to know body compositon, then try to find a lace that will do a hydrostatic weighing.
