Five miles this week? As in, you're building up to a 5 mile run?
Just cut out any processed/fast/junk foods and replace it with proteins, vitamins, and other good stuffs. And drink a LOT of water before each run, and a good electrolyte replacement afterwards. Chocolate Milk is as good for that as most advertised shit. I personally avoid gator/powerade because they rot teeth quicker than coke.
Diet won't REALLY affect you unless you eat shit. Just balance it, and don't eat crap. Stretch afterwards, and stretch after the first 5 minutes of running.
