/fit/, how good of an exercise is running up stairs? I'm going to the Ha'iku Stairs soon, which the climb would be about half a mile long if laid out.

Just like running on incline except possibly less ankle strain.

Yes, I believe a good bit of the beginning part is actual stairs, then you gotta climb.

I've only ever done a 10 story climb (hotel rooms, avoiding elevators) and it beats the shit out of your legs. Not in a bad way though, maybe?

Quit saying stupid things.

Stairs are more difficult and a better exercise than incline and are very different.

Well in a Newtonian sense it's the same amount of work no matter how you go up the incline.

Running up stairs is good exercise, depending on how long you do it for.

I would probably bet that's definitely more than a ten to fifteen minute run.

stairs are an amazing exercise.

I prefer to dress to retain my body heat.

Just make sure you keep a straight core & upper body, and bring your knees up as high and straight as you can without risking falling backwards. If you get winded, keep going and start screaming at the top of your lungs.
