Hello /fit/, first time poster here. I've done a lot of lurking in the past.

Here's the thing. I'm not skinny or fat. 5'8-10" 155lbs. I don't drink pop or eat junk food often and drink lots of water, milk and juice. Used to do a lot of running while in school, but don't get too much excercise now adays.

I have some social problems and get really nervous in crowds and when I go outside. I have some old weights here in my house and I was thinking about working out in my house for a week or so to work on form and get a bit of practice/base muscle before going out to a gym. This is ok right?

Just join the gym before you talk yourself out of it.

I disagree. OP has social problem already. Going to a gym and seeing other fit people would only discourage him.

I suggest prepping at home for a bit. If you have a lot of weights around, you might not even need to go to a gym.

I have scars on my feet from an infection a year back so they is ugly. Unless you don't mean my feet.

Already have a membership at a gym through family/friend.

I have crappy small bench and a barbell that is small and my hands seem really close together when I tried to use it with some weights on it. It can hold about 100lbs or so I think. Counting my weights I have 70lbs that came with the bench(including 4lb bar) and 40lbs in plates that go with the 2 dumbells.

This is not normal. If you go out in public, people will tend to notice your fluctuating height.
