Can I Get some pros/cons of multivitamins? I understand you can only get so much out of them, but can you potentially get hurt using them?

It is possible to be hurt by multivitamins, but not easily. It typically involves taking a larger-than-normal dose - multiple pills, more than one time a day. Multivitamins often include large-ish content of various micronutrients, and many micronutrients can be harmful in quantities not much higher than their recommended dosage. For example, you can get dangerously close to hazardous levels of Selenium just by taking certain GNC multivitamins twice a day.

I prefer One-a-Day Men's Health myself.

Technically, you shouldn't have to take any vitamins if you diet is in check. However there shouldn't be any harm in taking a multi once a day.

What do you mean?

There are a shit ton of vitamins in most foods you eat these days, especially food from your local grocer.

If you're vegetarian, a once-a-day multivitamin is a good idea.

not true; most Americans lead an indoor lifestyle (8 hours a day, 5 days a week, at work inside)

this means we don't produce enough Vitamin D, so you need to supplement that by taking a lot of it to make up for the fact that we all sit around indoors all day

most people don't get their Omega's, Zinc, magnesium and other minerals.

They are definitely recommended for almost everyone
