there is a difference. When you lift weights, your muscles tear. If you are lifting heavy weights, you need to give that muscle group aday or 2 to repair itself. Being sore has nothing to do with these tears, soreness is lactic acid build up in your muscles, when you do anerobic execise (lifting weights) your cells dont get air while they are working to they produce lactic acid to continue production of ATP which is the main source of energy for cells. So if you are sore, dont not lift, they wont help. Instead if you are sore do much lower weights but more repitions so your muscles work and build the protein to repair your tears making your muscles bigger, and remove the lactic acid that causes you to be sore. Another great way to be able to work every muscle group out each day is to go buy Whey protein shakes from GNC, drink one before and immediatly after your workout, and i promise you wont be as sore, or wont be sore at all, and if you arent sore you can do more, plus the extra protein is helping repair your muscles faster.
