For the past two months or so, after work, I've trotted out to a football field across the street from my house to run about five laps. I'm not overweight (a scant 140lbs), I just want to stay fit.

Lately, I've been losing my motivation. The running used to be fun, but now it feels more like work.

What can I do to motivate myself to keep at it?

You mean I should read "The Flash" more? I wonder if they brought Wally West back...

Pretty much, nothing is cooler then The Flash.

Also try listening to some music while you do it, or go with a friend. I recommend the flash song by queen (Just to go with Flash's badassity)

Just think of yourself as apart of the Speed Force.

Yeah, I've been listening to music while running. It's a life saver. However, listening to comedy podcast proved disastrous. Laughing while trying to run is a bad idea.

The flash can only run fast, but is that is the only thing he can do...

Yes and no. He gets creative with "go fast" powers, including making arm powered cyclones, vibrating through walls, etc. I wouldn't mind being able to run that quick.

He's ran so fast he's traveled through time and dimensions before. As I said before, bad ass. Vibrating through walls - awesome.

Anyways, listen to more of those comedy podcasts, laughing burns calories and works your abs! (I'm dead serious, maybe you should do it when you're not running though.)

Thanks for advice, all. I'll pick up my routine tomorrow, as I skipped tonight to eat some carrots.

Oh yeah, I usually do this at around 1am. No one's around an it's generally cooler outside. Is it bad to exercise that late at night?

I hate that feeling of how running seems more like work than anything else.
Have you tried to do any weight training of sorts? While running is the best cardio, perhaps taking a few days of the week to go so strength training would help with the tediousness of the running routine. It’s helped me.

So you took the time off of running to EAT? You do realize that just because you ate carrots, they don't keep you in shape. I'm assuming you ate them in place of something else though?

Weight lifting is a good idea too.

I don't see why it would be...during the spring I usually run at night too, just because it's so damn humid during the day.

Also, fuck yeah Flash

Yes, I started doing weights maybe half a year ago. My job offers me plenty of time to lift some weights. I was kinda scrawny starting out (still am, but not as much) and only felt comfortable lifting around 6lbs[+bar], but now I'm at 26[+bar].

I hadn't eaten in about 9 hrs... I was a bit peckish. It's not like I'm worried about my weight, as I'm a skinny fellow. It's better than some of my alternatives (ice cream, chips, chocolate).

Good for you! My fiancé was the same way a few years ago. He recommends a book called "Body For Life" by Bill Phillips to anyone who wants to get in better shape. Perhaps check it out. I’ve seen it work for people first hand and it really puts your health into perspective.
