Hey, /fit/ what's the fastest you can run a mile?

I'm at 4:34 for my best.
>> Kung-FU !!yKQtbs254kV
yeah right
>>
I'm a senior in HS, and I run track and XC. It's not that fucking hard.
>> Anonymous
Mile runners are skinnyfags. As a wrestler, footballer, and sprinter, I do 5:20s easy, so that's not bad.
>> Anonymous
>>163015
Oh yeah? How much can you squat/powerclean/deadlift/bench/row/press?
>> Anonymous
I run a 6:15 mile. But I also 1RM squat 315. Not great for either, but then again I'm not a one-trick pony.
>>
>>163032

idk i don't do those types of workouts. Just run 60-70 miles per week.

I don't run much.

HIIT myself out of 50 lb in 2 months (plus near-anorexia dieting), only to have all that virtual weight training make me into the ultimate sprinter
>> Anonymous
Heh, the seniors at my HS run the mile sub 4:30. The fastest guy runs it in 3:59:77. Of course, he's black.

I run it in around 6, but I'm a 100/200m sprinter.

Hey, guys! I can run a mile in slightly over one minute!
>> Anonymous
>>163086
whoa
did you put on a shitload of muscle before this cut or did you just go straight to running fast as hell?
>> Anonymous
12:31

:(

>>163087
You go to Olympic High School or something? Seems to be really good times. Sub 4 minutes is professional level running. In High School, sub4 minutes is pretty rare.

As for the OP, my mile time is a fairly pathetic 8:30 something, but I'm not a fan of running and my body fat is like 22%

Ouch.

straight to running fast as hell, no trolling. 210 to 160 lb, didn't give a damn about muscle, just wanted to be normal weight. i know that protein intake is essential to building muscle, but i somehow didn't need it to build up leg muscle. during those 2 months, i ran daily, no excuses. if i was sore, i'd run, if i was tired entirely, i'd run. i don't know how my body pulled protein from my fat stores, but i guess it must have, huh? cause my legs are hueg now.
>> Anonymous
>>163107
I know.

=(

My lifts are all good though, just hate running, but possibly because I suck at it. After I hit my weight loss goal (BF: 10%) maybe I'll try to better my mile time. But maybe not.

>>163110
your legs are far from huge.

my thighs are fucking 27 inches. with a 32 waist. THATS huge
>> Anonymous
well my best mile was like 6:25
i am 6'0 190 trying to lose the last 10 to 15 pounds with HIIT's

i lost 60 pounds last summer by lifting and walking on the treadmill on 4.5 on an incline for an hour every day.
>> Anonymous
>>163116
shoot, you win. my thighs are only 25, my waist 30. Calves are 16. good work, sir.

>>163115
How much can you lift in general?
>> Anonymous
>>163120
you train your calves? how do you nail the front (tibialis anteroir)

not at all, i just run. ran a marathon eventually too, 4 hours with many complications along the way, but thats no excuse. here's a fun pic of my legs taken during it, abused and undertrained.
>> Anonymous
>>163106
Nah, it's just that the school really places an emphasis on XC and track&field. The XC guys here train all year long.
>> Anonymous
If I just run a mile? Anywhere from 5-6 minutes. But if I run more it gets exponentially longer D:

I only started running about a month ago, so I still have a lot of room to improve.

why does the one mile matter so much? anybody can run a mile. how about 10 or 15 miles?
>> Anonymous
>>163169

That's the point, anybody can run a mile. Nobody except skeletons think running 10-15 miles is a good measure of fitness.
>> Anonymous
10 minutes lol.

>>163130
Wow, work on those arms man. You kind of look like a girl, just because your legs are so big. D:
>> Anonymous
Like, 9 minutes. At least I'm not alone...

3:54 was my personal best, was 16 when I did it.

This is pretty sad... 8:30 something is my mile time... and I've been running almost everyday for like the past year or so. But then again I only started exercising a year ago and I'm a pathetically weak little girl.

>>163203
You're such a fucking liar. That's one second above the current high school record, and 11 seconds above the world record. Stop trying to impress us.
>> Anonymous
>>163196
Oh I know dude, don't worry about it. That was two years ago when I wasn't really focused on anything but cutting weight, be it fat or muscle. My arms are good to go now, though, nice thick vein going down it and all, curling 40s, doing all sorts of weight exercises on them, and still more to go.
>> Anonymous
>>163221
Show us a pic faggot.
>> Anonymous
>>163221
When you say curling 40s, how many reps? Just wondering.... I'm only up to 35 :\
>> Anonymous
>>163227
By 35 i mean 35 lb, not reps.
>> Margaret
>>163221
Oh okay. I'm glad. That did look kind of odd. Glad you are better now though. ^_^

The same thing happened to me. I lost about 70 pounds back in 11th grade ( three years ago) and was completely lopsided. My legs were really small and I had almost no shape to me.
>> Anonymous
>>163226
No man, I've ashamed because somehow I still got an inch-thick gut covering my abs, with ugly love handles out to the side almost collapsing in but not quite there yet. I'm not done with myself!

>>163227
I do 6 reps, 3 or 4 sets. I just do what's comfortable/painful for me before my body absolutely refuses to do more (I'm not taking in as much protein/calories as I should be. Doing it wrong etc etc, but I want to cut and maintain right now). I bet you're more functionally stronger, don't worry.

I was pretty good at distance in high school. My best 1600m is a 4:35. My best 3200m is a 10:07 and my best 5k is a 16:25 FYI

Gymnast / Diver here.

Last time I tried to do any sort of cardio work I started to foam at the mouth.

Though my last Mile time was 7:44

clocked in at 5:23 this morning, its not my best time ever. But i live in louisiana and was running in 96 degree wether with 100 percent humidity. So i thought it was pretty good for those conditions.

Well, I ran 5KM on the beach under 30mins yesterday ... soft sand is hard as hell to run.

6:22. That was like a year ago. I'd have to do it again to know how much I've improved.

I'm answering this like 10 hours later. oops.

5'10
230lbs
body fat: 22%
FFMI: 24

Max bench 1rep: 350

Haven't maxed much else in the past few months. I leg press 360 for 4x10 like 5 times a week and then calf press it 4x15, for sake of time. Work too much. Most pull ups ever was 21, normally do like 3x8 and 3x8.

Been doing mostly body weight stuff lately, because I can do it at home. Push Ups is 4x30 or 2x50 depending on the day.

>>if i was sore, i'd run, if i was tired entirely, i'd run.

it's really very unfortunate - to train properly in any sport, you need a brain (or the use of someone else's brain)
You're proud of this? You're an idiot. Get yourself a trainer so that you don't end up killing yourself
>> Anonymous
Fastest mile was 5:30. Now it's probably around 5:45 or 6:00.
>> Anonymous
>>163760
I was desperate to lose weight, and I found that running when sore only made it so I wasn't sore the next day. Despite all the disagreement I'm sure you'll have, I got the results I was looking for, and my leg muscles grew significantly over that time.
>> Anonymous
Just under nine minutes.

Too bulky.

I run 2 miles in under 11 minutes on treadmill for cardio every other day...

9mins30 at 11mph, 1min30 at 13mph.
