Everybody tuna fish Anonymous
Sup /fit/, lets talk tuna.

The EPA guidelines state that it's safe to eat up to twelve ounces of light tuna a week or six ounces of white tuna a week. Any more than that and you're risking mercury poison.

I eat way more than 2 cans of skipjack (light) tuna a week. Am I poisoning myself here?

I certainly hope so

Only if you're a fetus.

Those guidelines are meant for the most susceptible common denominator: pregnant women. You're a healthy guy, you could eat a can a day and nothing bad would happen to you.

mercury is only dangerous to fetuses and pregnant women

You're not in danger unless you're eating like 5 cans a day

symptoms are numbness in fingers and feet, memory loss and blurred vision.

There's a lot of information about the differing levels of mercury in fish; even within tuna. Tuna and salmon are relatively low in mercury, I think the worst one was swordfish.

Just google it.

Worst case scenario is you get mercury poisoning and sue the shit out of the tuna industry which continually says 'eat as much as you want'

Best case scenario is you are an environmentalist fag that goes 'OH NO MERCURY, NO FISH FOR ME LOLOLOL' and you die a scrawny little bitch.

If you are really that concerned about it and you eat more than 3-4 cans a day buy one of those mercury tests for your hair.

The bigger the fish the higher the mercury content, have you ever been fishing? Tuna is pretty fucking xbawks hueg.
