i've decided to quit smoking weed.

i've been toking for the past 5 years, and recently i got to the stage where i was smoking an 8th a day. the mindfog got a bit much and i started to get depressed, and if it's not the culprit, weed sure as shit doesn't help.

so my question is: will my thought processes get faster/ less confused or am i fucked forever? and if they will get better, how long till i'm not so slow and my senses aren't so dullened?

you don't have to quite all together just smoke a joint a day, anything in over kill is going to mess you up. You're head will clear up after a month if you stop all together though

it's habit forming, but not addictive. will take some adjustment, but you ought to try living totally clean for a while just to see how you like it

after about 30 days you should notice a pretty big difference, but since you've been doing it for about 5 years, the part of your brain that manages memories may be a bit atrophied from a lack of use. Not to say you're fuxed permanently, but it will still be a problem a while after it's all out of your system.

Just do stuff that really forces you to remember (certain video games, studying, meditating, I dunno), it'll help re-activate that portion/ability after a while.

psycholically addictive. I've known a few people who had an easier time giving up cigarettes, they just depended on weed so much to function.

cool. i've got resits coming up (being a heavy pot smoker meant my priorities were not quite sorted, and uni suffered a lot) and i'm reading every day.

after my resits i will probably have a joint or two, but if thats the case i'd really like to cut it down to maybe a doobie or two per week, or save it for special occasions.

as the other post have stated after 30 days without taking weed will make your brain much more active, well taking weed is cool and all but taking it over is really overkill and can fuck you up really good so just do some activities to regain some senses for example Video games try something that requires your brain to think and think of a solution to finish the problem

I was a heavy smoker for seven years until I gave up last November, for similar reasons to you. Not only was it expensive but I was going through a really shitty depressive period and I knew it wasn't helping. I didn't have any for three months and then when I did it was so super-mega awesome I can't describe it.

I used to mix tobacco with my chop so for the first week I gave up I was really angry and shitty, wanting to punch children in the supermarket. After a few weeks I started to feel a lot more clearer mentally and generally felt liberated from it. Back then I said giving it up was one of the best things i've ever done.

Cut to six months later and i'm going through another shitty period and fighting with everything i've got not to fall back into my old routine of getting high every night. I bought some for my birthday and it lasted about 100 times longer then it would have six months ago, but unfortunately i'm feeling the pangs now that it has run out.

My body doesn't need/want it anymore, but my mind sure does. I'm upset and angry at my current situation and all I can think about is why my dealer won't answer his phone.

You'll be fine in a couple weeks if you stop all together.

i smoked weed for about 3 years heavily, near the end it only made me tired when I got high. Now I dont smoke at all and im alot happier/ weed is actually a shitty drug even though it gets alot of hype as being "ok" no one that is succesful or good at anything does it.
