what does /fit/ think of creatine? I'm thinking of using it, but i'm mainly concerned about gaining muscle mass. Will this just make me retain water?

also, I'm wanting to gain muscle mass, is a route of pullups/chinups, pushups, and dips a good routine for arms? (along with dumbell lifting)

As long as you're drinking a sufficient amount of water, you shouldn't retain any more water than normal while taking creatine.

The bodyweight exercises you listed are great for arms.

Why is water weight even an issue?
It's like complaining about not getting the right color paper you wanted in elementary.

/fit/ is full of over-concerned wusses.

You WANT water in your muscles fucker, you're 70% water! Furthermore the water doesn't comprise the mass, it simply carries more ions and all that good shit into your muscles, which results in less soreness and more progress. The routine sounds fine if you're just working your arms.

whoops, meant to say barbell lifting as in whole body excersises. I'm not so concerned about water, but i just want it to be practical muscle weight versus my muscles only getting bigger because of water

Don't worry about it, go on the creatine, be careful to experiment with it for the first few months so that you can find the right schedule for you.

creatine fucking works. you will gain water weight (3-7 lbs is common), but this water comes off when you stop cycling it. You will however keep your gains. Shit works

creating- always a good call. Host of recent studies show that 5g a day is great for your overall brain health since most people are deficient in creatine anyway. Its nothing magic but woth your money. just dont spend more than lik $20 or you got ripped off. also dont pay extra for those tubs with sugar mixed in, just drink it with juice.
