ROIDRAGE against the machine
When I squat at 155 (yes I got weak squats =/) i get a sharp pain in my abdomen that increases with every squat. At 135 I didn't seem to have this problem. The first time this happened it really freaked me out and I stopped doing squats. I didn't finish my squats but did the rest of my routine without any sort of pain at all. This all started to happen after I squatted 185 five times with a spotter although it did not hurt during which I was squatting 185. The day after the next day (which would make it last Wednesday) I warmed up at 135 without pain and then I tried again at 155 and felt a faint sharp pain in the same spot so I stopped immediately.

Now I have been not squatting for for about 6 days now and I'm wondering if I have a hernia. There is no residual pain or pain I can emulate doing anything normal or even abnormal. I can do 100 crunches without feeling any sort of pain at all and I can do my normal routine (minus squats) perfectly fine too. I also have no visible signs of a hernia and I also cannot feel any bulge when I press on the spot where I would feel the pain. My question is this: What the hell is this, and when can I begin squatting again?

P.S: The physical trainer I talked to said I had a tear in my abdominal wall... does that mean a hernia? she didn't seem concerned at all and even said I could do leg press to keep my strength up.(lol leg press)

Pic unrelated but awesome

is your fat pinching your fat? that could cause pain fatty
maybe you just need to shit before you do squats.

Yay someone who squats as little as me. As for your trainer, I wouldn't really listen to her, try to talk to a medical professional. If not, then try to wait it out. I'd say give it 2 weeks and start at around 100 or so and slowly build back to avoid re-injuring yourself.

lol. No, I'm not fat but thanks for the answer.
I'm 6', 156 lbs for reference.

A tear in an abdominal wall is not necessarily a hernia. It becomes herniated when you continue to stress it and it becomes inflamed and/or scar tissue begins to develop.

Take a break from squats and let yourself heal.

Thats exactly what I've been thinking, so I didn't even try leg press. I'm going to try to find a doctor that can get me in soon. Its finals week so I'm kind of in a bind for time. Also I didn't trust the trainer, but I'm still doing all other exercises except squats.
