Hey /fit/

So my friend has been basically living off negative 500 cal a day for a couple months now. He'll do cardio until he's in the negative cal zone and then do weights. I know this is unhealthy, but I'm not sure how to explain it to him. What exactly are the negative health benefits to this besides muscle damage?

i call bullshit

wait, nvm. i don't get what you mean. he's on a 500 cal/day deficit? good for him. that's a good thing.

I think he means something like he'll eat 300 calories per day, and then burn of 800.

What he said.

k, then back to calling bullshit. he'd be hospitalized/go auschwitz pretty fucking soon if he was doing that.

he's probably underreporting his cals (300 calories is nothing). if he was really only eating 300 calories a day, there's no way in hell he'd have enough energy to burn off 800 calories in cardio. no fucking way. if he was eating more, like 2000 calories, burning 2300 calories in cardio is equally insane and stupid.

So he's burning more than he's eating. What's bad about this?

*2500 calories. you get what I mean. doing (the amount of calories you eat in a day + 500) calories of cardio is nigh impossible, i'd say.
