Anyone else have hypothyroidism? I do and it makes it hard for me to lose weight.

Im 5,11 and currently 200 pounds ( just recently shot up from lack of exercise). It sucks that I know I do enough to make a normal person lose weight but I still pack it on. I intake 1600- 1800 calories a day and run at least 3-4 times a week for around 45 minutes. Its been a while since I actively took the medication, it always seemed that when I took it it never helped. any one else

Well if you really have hypothyroidism then being 5'11" and 200 pounds isn't bad at all. Most people with hypothyroidism are much larger so I'd say you are doing good managing the condition.

I'd say try adding in some HIT workouts either in place of some of those 45 minute runs or in addition to.

I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and I take levoxyl everyday.

The only time I notice a difference is when im taking a higher dose than needed which results in higher thyroid levels, me not needing as much sleep, not constantly thirsty all the time, and much less lethargic than usual.

I wish someone would create a work out routine just for those with thyroid problems because I too have to work out twice as much and eat half as much as my friends just to look slightly chubby.

5'9" 184 lb femanon.

I have hypothyroidism and I'm 5,7 130. I play football and run a ton, but keeping my weight down is really hard.

i was diagnosed with hypothyroidism but i'm 5"6 and 135lbs. it is harder to lose weight. i don't really take the meds like i should but it is much easier to lose weight and feel less sluggish on the meds.

That shit runs in my family so bad.

Three of my aunts and two of my cousins have it.

Although my one cousin has hyperthroidism. She has to eat like 5 times more than the average person or else she turns into a skeleton.

I've seen pictures of her when it really bad. She looked like an Auschwitz victim.

i'm under medical observation because it's probable that i had it. I have all the sympthoms, and also my TSH is very high than usual, but i am 165 and 50 kgs... The bad thing is that now i'm gaining weight, after a hard battle to lose it in the past (i lose 20 kgs. between last year and this)... i'm very depressed for this, i feel very lethargic and i barely get out of my bed because this shit also killed my inmune system. I don't have any willpower to do exercise and my body is turning into jelly again...

well, next week i'll have the test results and i'll get medications at least. but now i just want to become an hero... all those diets, hours running in my elliptical bike, hours of walking and don't eat any junk food in a year is going straight to the trash...

you need to get back in to your doc and re-evaluate. if he/she doesnt take blood every quarter-year then you should get a new doc. dosing changes all the times on this drug, and dont switch brands/generics at all on this guy.

OP, try upping your calorie intake about 10 to 15 percent. I know this sounds counter productive, but when you cut your calories too much, your body goes into STARVE mode where it retains a LOT more calories than it would normally. Granted, if that's not the problem, this will just make you gain a little more weight, but if there's any possibility this is the case, try the calorie uppage for two or three weeks.

Pfffffffffffftttt

You guys just have to make your own personalized work out plan like I did. You just have to find ways to work around it. I did I may not have have hypothyroidism but I do have quit a couple of neurological disorders to make up for it.
