Quick question, /fit/.
What's the best heart rate to have during cardio for fat loss?
22/female/25% BF
I usually go at around 160, is this good?

160 is definitely in the "Cardiovascular" zone, which means it will be good for burning fat and increasing your athletic ability. It is a bit high though, if you start going to 170 are over, you run into some health risks of over stressing your heart.

140 - 160 is good for you. 135 is probably near your base 'fat burning' level.

Don't hit your absolute max, 180 is great. I should have explained myself better.

Your an idiot. No one should be going over 170 unless they're like, 18 year old Olympians.

Above 170 bpm, your thinking is reduced to the primitive fight or flight response. Running (or charging) is at its peak performance. The vast majority of people also tend to lose control of their bladder and bowels at this stage because even those functions consume resources that the body prefers to save for fighting or running.

You, very literally, are fucking retarded. You don't shit yourself when you get up to 170bpm. A healthy 20 year old male is going to have a max target heart rate of about 200bpm.

Take it easy, you fucking fag, you wouldn't actually want to get into shape or anything.

You are so god damned retarded. You honestly think people shit themselves at that level ? Mother fucker ! What about sprinters ? Have you not noticed that kinds in highschool and college students play sports that have them do things like that almost everyday ?

Am I missing a pants shitting epidemic or something? You fucking queer.

that's some bullshit right there, If I trained at 160 HR (80%) I'd be going for what like 5+ hours? I don't have time for that shit

anyone that tells you exercise past 80% HR is a fucking tool and should be thrown into jail for being that retarded. People who actually have been running with heart rate monitors for more than 2 days know that 80% is childs play, when you get into AHR 90% (with occasional spikes to 98-99% and your anaerobic threshold) for 45+ minutes that's when the fun begins

i'm not advocating you this every time because you will soon find out that you won't recover overnight by doing this unless you have been training like this for a long time.

What i'm merely saying is that going past 80 or 90 or even 100% of your MHR isn't bad for you, sure you might feel like a train wreck but in the end it's mentally and physically the best thing you can do for yourself, it's liberation for for everyone but most people are too scared to go that far.
