so I just bought some protein powder and, after looking at the nutrition facts, grabbed the unflavored powder. overall it's slightly better than the flavored ones, but I didn't count on it tasting like ass-sweat.

any suggestions for making this stuff drinkable?

Add cocoa powder and then cry because you should have just bought the flavored stuff.

adding milk defeats the purpose of taking whey for your protein source.

bullshit, fgt

whey is too fast absorbing to be entirely effective in muscle recovery. the casein from the milk is a great precaution for that, making sure your muscle have the protein they need at all hours instead of that just that window of ten minutes where the whey kicks in.

too fast absorbing? whey isnt fast absorbing, its just faster than casein. It takes much longer than 10 minutes.

I clicked on this from the front page because I bought the same thing. Here's what I did.

Go to the grocery store and pick up a few bags of frozen assorted fruit, it's very cheap. 4 dollars lasts me a week.

Thaw it, and throw it in a blender with some water and some honey. It will make the most mindbending sweet slurry you've ever had.

Mix some of the slurry with a scoop of the protein powder, add water to fill, and shake to mix throughly.

You won't have to fire up a blender before working out, the fruit and honey aren't bad for you, especially before a work out, and it tastes good.

a starchy carb like oats would be better than the fructose sugars. But honestly, unless you are a competing bodybuilder, its not a big enough of a difference to worry about

Always buy flavored.

Someone has drunk albumin with flavor?
Does it taste good? I bought one bottle of non-flavored albumin once and it really tastes like rotten eggs

You are probably thinking of creatine.

The only reason most people take fast carbs with their shakes is because they do it after workout

I have strawberry flavored whey. It is delicious with soy milk. It actually tastes GOOD.

First whey protein that has actually tasted good.

most of the time I grind my oats in a coffee grinder and throw the oat flour into water with whey. Sorry I didnt explain that. Anyways, the gi index score of a carb doesnt make a big difference during the anabolic window

Blend it with a banana, strawberries, and/or some other fruit.
