Hey /fit/,

I'm planning on doing some push ups after jogging and shit. Any tips for a beginner? Also I'm 97kg standing at 5"9'.

Keep your feet together.

Keep your back straight at all costs.

Not like the dick on the pic? Got that. How about the reps, them sets and all that?

It seems to me that it is easier to raise myself when I arch my back. I cannot do so without. What the fuck /fit/?

That's the whole point, dick tracy. Pushups are not just about your arms and pecs. Keeping your back straight all the time forces you to use your lower back muscles and legs. Arcing your back isolates the excersize to your upper torso.

Damn, I find this getting hard quickly.

Dunno.
I always did 25 pushups with my feet raised onto my couch at breakfast, lunch and dinner (roughly).

And when I'm warmed up I can pump out 40 pushups easily.

I'm still looking for a faster way to increase pushup numbers and speed.

I wanna do 65 pushups in 1 minute for Airforce PT pushup limit.

WHAT. 97kg? jogging? you best be very muscular or enjoy your raep'd knees.

Good. That's how you should always feel when working out.

Oh yeah for real man. I can run like 5+ km in 30 mins tops which still sucks but I try. I'm finding this push up business frustrating. Shit.

You can just arch your back for a while to build up upper torso strength first. That way it'll be easier when you do real push ups later, since all you'll have to focus on then is your back and legs.

Not OP but, what is a good way to build lower back strength without a use of a gym?

Find something heavy you can pick up and deadlift it.

But how many should I do, I almost forgot. How many reps in each set? How much is how much?
