Ok well i work out already but i wanna start doing squats. Is there a recommended weight to start out at and if i bought some weights would 100kg be enough?

Depends. My gym doesn't have a squat rack, so if I want to do real squats I have to grab the bar off the incline bench, and if I experience muscle failure at the bottom of my squat i'm pretty much fucked.

Therefore smith machine is much safer for me.
