I doubt the small splenda you are taking in has any problem. Fuck, compared to a bowl of Sugar Snaps, you are laps ahead. some of the people here judge any possible negative too harshly it seems.
I personally cook my steel cut oats like usual, but when there is two minutes left on the timer, I toss in chopped up green sour (granny smith) apple. Just half of it actually. Smaller chops the better. Seems that 2 minutes softens the apple and makes it leech delishous sweet sour flavor into the oats.
My kids even enjoy it, but prefer it with drizzles of honey. Nothing wrong with that picture.
