squats - why the fuck am i so bad at them Anonymous
wtf is wrong with me
i'm always trying to improve my squat, but i struggle doing 120kg for 5 reps
however, i can bench 110kg for 5 reps without even trying hard (i don't give a fuck about bench, i only do it because it improves my overhead press)

anyone wanna trade 20kg on bench for 20kg on squats?

pic related
she probably squats more than me

Down the road, in a gym far away
A young man was heard to say,
"No matter what I do, my legs won't grow!"
He tried leg extensions, leg curls, leg presses too.
Trying to cheat, these sissy workouts he'd do!
From the corner of the gym where the big guys train,
Through a cloud of chalk and the midst of pain,
Where the big iron rides high, and threatin' lives,
Where the noise is made with big forty-fives,
A deep voice bellowed as he wrapped his knees,
A very big man with legs like trees,
Laughing as he snatched another plate from the stack,
Chalked his hands and monstrous back,
Said, "Boy, stop lying and don't say you've forgotten!
Trouble with you is you aint been SQUATIN'!!"

I'll trade those 20kg if you post more of her.

240 lbs is quite a bit. Yes, guys usually squat more, but from the sound of it, you're more upper-body oriented. Increase your leg workouts, squat with low weight, and then build up. It's for your health, not for looking LEIK A MAN.

that's just the problem, i'm not upper body oriented in my workouts
it's just that my upper body gets stronger whatever i do and my lower body doesn't

and if i'm honest i'm not doing it for health or looks, but because being strong feels great
i want to be squating 200kg for 5 reps like it's nothing someday

Yet another pic of that girl with shopped thighs. What gives? Is someone trying to convince everyone online that that girl does EPIC SQUATZ in a cheap hoax, or what?

Are you getting enough calories in? If you wanna try an online person trainer a try I have gone through ironaddicts training and my squat went from 190lbs to 290 in a year. ironaddicts.com

Cocks in and around my face.

IDK back when i used to workout hXc my squat never seemed to get just a whole lot higher than my bench like it would do for some people. Probably had something to do with my build and height.

Try doing some power cleans and some dead lifts those might help.

Idk if you are already doing this, but I'll give it a mention. I used to have perfect squat form, but I wasn't flexing my core hard enough. Perhaps a lot of power is being lost in translation from your legs as your body rises up, but your torso can't handle the load.

Sled draggins works well

This sounds like heresy, but lay off of SQUATZ for a while and do some DEADLIFTS. I always hear bitching at this point about how DL is a back exercise, but it works legs a shitton also.

(not really an answer for only these two)
i'm currently doing madcows 5x5 intermediate except that instead of wednesday's light back squats i do front squats (sets of 3 instead of 5, same weight as the light back squats are supposed to be)
before that i used a plan i made myself (basicaly monday 3x3 heavy squats/front squats, 3x10 light rdl/goodmornings, 3x3 friday heavy dl/rack pull, light 3x10 squats/front squats)
before that the texas method, and before that starting strength
starting strength worked very well and got me to around 110kgx5 squat, 100kgx5 bench, 60kgx5 overhead press, 120kgx3 deadlift and 80kgx5 row
the texas method didn't really work for me (probably started to high), the only things that improved were overhead press to 70kgx3 (i only did bench as a recovery workout) and deadlift (i switched to sumo) to 150kgx1
on my own plan i got 10kg on front squats (103kgx3), 120x3kg on squats, lost a lot on the deadlift (barely got 140kg of the ground), overhead stayed the same, i didn't bench, and i did only cable rows
on madcows 5x5 i'm currently at 120kgx5 squat (going for 123kg this week), 110kgx5 on bench, 70kgx5 on overhead press, 95kgx5 on rows, 135kgx5 on deadlift (switched back to normal)

i'm thinking on doing smolov in the summer when i'll have more time
that is supposed to work really well for squats
anyone have any experience (other than you're gonna wish you were dead)?
