Well, begin with cyclette, step machine, whatever easy cardio you can find in a gym. If you're unable to get to a gym, try to break a sweat at home with easy exercises, and count your calories everyday to make sure you're around 2000-2300 cals/day.
You could always just walk, or do the stairs repeatedly. When I was a "big guy", most of the people in my building thought I was mad for doing every time the stairs four times up and down, instead of just taking the lift. It worked for the very begining, then I could do cyclette and jogging.
