hey /fit/

I just started on pointe last week, and when I finished class today, I had an almost bump on the outside part of the knuckle on my big toe. its been a few hours, and its still there and its a bit numb - any advice on what it is, how to stop it, etc?

Get used to it. You're going to be building up callouses, getting ingrown toenails, and generally having unpleasant looking feet until you quit.

The best thing I ever used was lambs wool as toe pads. Even though it's expensive, change it frequently--it's the perfect environment to grow nasty fangus/bacteria on.

And tape! To avoid some of the callouses, use toe tape on that part of your knuckle. I usually just went balls-crazy with that shit and taped practically my entire foot. Then again we had two hour long lessons, so maybe being excessive isn't necessary if your lesson's shorter.

Good luck :D

so nothing abnormal then? sounds good! i was just worried that it was something out of the ordinary - i was expecting blisters , but not weird numbing bumps on my toes
