OATMEAL!!! Anonymous
so /fit/ I started eating oatmeal for breakfast recently, and am just using the plain stuff since the instant packets are obviously the devil.
I've been using raisins to help make it edible, and I've heard honey is good to mix with it to help sweeten it. Any other suggestions?

I always eat those Weight Control oatmeal packs that Quaker has out. Includes a nice dose of protein (7g/serving).

I put a pinch of dried coconut, raisins, brown sugar and a banana in mine. basically, you can do anything with oatmeal. if you drink shakes, you can add a couple of tablespoons of oatmeal to it. also, and this is for the adventurous, you can go the "grit route" on oatmeal. A fried egg, some ham/bacon, etc. I might do that once a month or so, just for variety. Also, ALWAYS do the steel cut type. instant shit is shit.

Another vote for banana. Makes it very yummy, even when the oatmeal is made with water. Just make sure it has a consistency you like.

I load mine up with fruit.
Sliced strawberries, blueberries, and bananas. Mango, pineapple, cherries, and kiwi on the side... om nom nom. With a drink made from juiced orange and juiced papaya. (no, not orange juice. That shit sucks) I even add a scoop of this fruit powder that's supposed to have a lot of anti-oxidants in it. Then I add a tiny bit of brown sugar to make it more stomach-able.


Or, if you don't feel fruity in the morning, get Diet Swiss Miss Hot chocolate mix. Prepare your oatmeal with water, and when it's done cooking throw in a packet and stir. Tastes like hot cocoa pebbles.

My usual breakfast:

*oatmeal
*fat free soya milk
*frozen blueberries
*finely sliced banana
*1 scoop vanilla whey protein

Or replace the fruit with a handful of pumpkin seeds and a tablespoon of honey. Gotta love oatmeal. Suppresses the appetite until way after lunch and has a healthy dose of fibre.

I like muesli. Actually enjoyable alternative to gagging down oatmeal.

- 1/4 cup steel cut oats
- 1/2 tsp. ground flaxseed
- ~10 rasisins, 5 almonds
- 1/4 cut up green apple
soak overnight in skim milk

in morning add bananas, cinnamon and nutmeg.

I usually put half a teaspoon of natural/organic PB in mine with a few raisins or I'll cut up some of the apple I eat in the morning and put it in along with it. Taste so nummy. Don't see why people put sugar in their oatmeal... ruins the whole thing.

I was going to make the exact same post as you haha, only my recipe's a little different.

- flaked almonds
- dried cranberries
- steel-cut oats
- ground flax
- granola cereal
- oat bran
- wheat bran

I'll also soak this in skim milk, and have a glass of concentrate pulpy orange juice with it.

But yeah, fuck regular old oatmeal imo
