Hardgainer here. 5"10', 128lbs.

Currently eating 3,500 to 4,000 calories a day. Consume about 150 grams of protein a day. All healthy and whole foods. I Lift weights 5 days a week working each muscle group thoroughly, giving them about a full weeks rest. I also go running each day, approx 2 miles.

Am I on the right track to becoming /fit/ and gaining muscle mass?

Monday through Friday I lift. I target certain muscles each day. For example, Monday's are for forearm, tricep, and shoulder exercises. Which gives them about a full weeks of rest because I don't use them that heavily until the next Monday.

Pretty sure those numbers are blown way up but if they are real then good for you. So yea you will gain decent muscle (Along with fat).

But...
You workout 5 days and on top of it run everyday..Overkill. Id just not do it or change my routine to have one day off after each workout. Your muscle and body need rest.

Numbers are real, I had to start off at about 2,500 calories a day at first and get my body accustomed to eating more. Final got up to 3,500-4,000 and am sticking with that.

I think I may cut out the running, or do it less often.

Do NOT listen to this guy, he's retarded. As long as you are working out different muscles each day you are doing it right.

Also,>>281995has a point. If you are just looking to gain muscle there is really no need to do running. However, if you just want to keep your legs in shape or something, then go for it. It shouldn't hurt you as long as you eat enough.

OP here.

Thanks anon, I'm going to cut down on the running. Give my legs some rest.

Don't run. Just keep eating. Make it 6000 a day for good measure. God, 5'10 and 128 pounds... I can only imagine what you look like.

Stop running so much, it burns too many calories.

Running is useless during weight gain I would just drop it because you can always cut down the fat after reaching the desired goal.

Gain for 3-4 months and then cut down to get the lean look

damn i had the same problem. eat 6 portioned meals 6 times a day and try to incorporate a steady workout. complimentary workout works 4 me. u work every muscle 2-3 times a week and at the same time u let it rest.

i never did cardio or ran. cause it made me sweat and lose weight...
