sup /fit/

i'm trying to increase my metabolism. i'm going to start doing a light calisthenics routine when i first wake up in the morning, as well as the whole "five/six meals a day" thing.

for those of you that do the second one, are your meal times strictly planned? if so, what's your eating schedule? some tips for this would be appreciated.

also, what are some other (natural) ways of boosting my metabolism?

pic completely unrelated.

Yes I eat several small meals a day... My rule of thumb is eating once every two hours. I originally thought that this would help me gain weight, however I ended up losing 7 pounds over three weeks.

hey. so I worked out for 2 months then got an injury. in those 2 months I'd also switched to this new eating plan, 6 meals or so a day. I still eat like that, although less than when I was working out, and I'm losing weight! :D

The main thing to remember about it is to not ever eat 'normal sized' lunch or supper meals any more, those are too big. you shouldn't feel full after a meal either. that's it really... it works after a few weeks.

Should be counting calories and measuring all his food until he has a good idea of what portion sizes will look like. It's great if you can develop an eye for it, but there's no way you can just guess right off hand how much 8 oz of chicken looks like.

guess what? metabolism is largely a function of the amount of muscle mass you carry. lift heavy weights 5 times a week.

yes, you should be eating 5-6 meals a day, but they should be big, to increase your muscle size.
