Hey /fit/ so im a chick and ive been working out for the past 2 weeks. I go to the gym in the morn before work for about and hour at least 3x per week and then i go with some guy friends at night to do cardio and weight training. my doctor put me on a 800-1000 cal per day diet and i need some good foods/meals that are around 200 cal each, does anyone know of a good website or forum that has good recipes or meal ideas? thanks

well if your counting calories then calorieking.com has a huge database and you just type in any food and it tells you what is in it.

doctor told me that exercise is good for cardiovascular health but not as much for fat loss because for example it takes 30 min of fast walking to burn off a piece of bread, she said once i get to my goal weight then i should have no problem eatin 2000 per day.>>192619and being 150 at 5'7" is what the bmi says i should be but anyways after my morn work out i eat a protein shake then throughout the day have some dried fruit trail mix stuff for small snack, munch on sugar snap peas and other stuff, then have a shake after going to the gym at night. idk i though 1000 didnt seem like very much but i feel fine, i should probably eat more meat though..haha ;D

IF you walk your wasting your time, you can simple jog or even sprint shorter distances and lose more fat jogging then you could do in a whole day of walking. GAwd I rage at people when they walk.

One - you're working out too much. 2x a day? Only if you're a contest bodybuilder. Otherwise, say hello to overtraining.

Two- 800 calories? 1000? Absurd. Absurdly low. Eat more, but eat healthy. You should probably be in the area of 1400, maybe even 1800, for fat loss.

Three - if you *were* only eating 800 calories daily, would you really be retarded enough to eat 4 small meals of 200 calories? C'mon.

Ok, if you want to spiral down into eating disorder hell, have at 800 calories a day.

Your metabolism will slow down, and (this is especially true if you restrict carbohydrates) you will binge on shitty food. May I suggest Tom Venuto's Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle, or perhaps Body for Life by Bill Phillips?

Those two books will do you more good than a doctor.

i wasn't complaining that im still fat, ive been working out and "dieting" or apparently starving my self, for only a week and a half
Im not sure what my caloric needs are or how many I need to cut down to lose weight.. maybe I should see a nutritionist? I thought that 1000 cals per day would be ok as long as I'm eating proteins ect but idk. maybe the people of /fit/ should post their sex age weight and height and how many cals they eat per day so I can get an idea. but thanks for the criticism i guess :D
