Hey /fit/

I used to swim in High school (long distance, not sprinting) and now I'm in college and out of shape.
Any suggestions on swim workouts to slowly ease me back into fitness, or should I do it the old fashioned way and start off busting my ass for 2 hours?

Since swimming is a low-impact exercise, you could just dive right in hardcore.

Go for it.

alright. I'm not looking forward to it, but I'm tired of being fatter than I used to.

additionally, I don't know how well I'll keep up with my pacing without an entire team of people swimming with me. any suggestions, or should I just swim as fast as I can for as long as I can?

If you can find one, get a waterproof heart rate monitor, find out what your MAF (maximum aerobic function) is, and work a little under that.

Barring that, I'd say just swim. If you're doing it for general fitness and not for competing don't worry about pace or anything like that. Just have fun with it.

Just start with a mile, about 65 laps in a 25 meter pool
