best desperation meals? Anonymous
for those of us that try to eat healthy all the time, what do you eat when you fund yourself in a situation where "healthy" food isn't really a possibility?
Usually I'll go to a burger chain and get two of the cheap 1 dollar cheese burgers and put all 4 patties into one bun. It's cheap, semi-healthy, and filling.

KFC. Fried chicken breast meat without the skin is almost as good as baked, and probably has less fat than those burger patties. Those are probably your 2 best options though.

op here, the chicken breasts sounds like a good idea and I've always thought about jerky but that seems like it wouldn't be filling enough and too expensive for a small meal

any kind of fast-food meat with either:
the batter(if there is any) removed, the bun/etc removed and mayo/etc wiped off (if it's a burger)
Also, as much grease as possible soaked up with napkins.

Beef jerky's really high in protein and low in fat, but like you said, it's also pricey, and not terribly filling. Your best bet is to find a Grocery/Convenience store.

Most gas stations carry single serving bottles of Muscle Milk now too. Even if they don't, just get milk and a protein bar.

Because you need sodium, douche.

Besides, I'm on a controlled diet, the sodium I "happen" to get from uncontrolled meals is minimal.

Additionally, show me a study linking reduction in sodium in healthy individuals to a reduction in non-existant hypertension. Or in individuals with hypertension.

Keep sodium intake clean, and keep it consistent.

Additionally, as an athelete, or so you espose, you need sodium.

Also, If your basing the amount of sodium on the FDA, if you look where the FDA got the number, they made it up. They said "that looks about right' and there is your sodium for the day. The average person consumes anywhere from 4000-7000mg per day.
