Any hypochondriacs on /fit/? Anonymous
S'up /fit/?

To put the "health" back in "health & fitness", I'd like to hear from any hypochondriac anons about diseases and terminal illnesses that scare the shit out of them.

For me, it's brain tumours. No known cause, and they've known to spring up in people of all ages. Fucking terrifying.

Pic kinda related.

Any form of dementia or Alzheimer's scares me, but I figure I won't remember how terrified I was.

Things like Parkinson's scare me too, but at least I'll make a killer martini.

Heart disease (specifically, heart attack). It doesn't help that there is a family history and that I genetically have higher cholesterol. Any time I have bad gas above my stomach, I think "Here I go".

My dad just had the most horrible scare. I was working in Mexico City at the time and bailed up (almost got fired) to help him. Get a CAT scan if you're that paranoid. If not...thank your FUCKING LUCKY STARS you're not terminally ill you sack of shit.

Woah buddy. I thought we were discussing our hypochondriatic episodes here. I am only 29, and I lead a pretty active lifestyle. I'm sorry to hear about your dad, but chill.

Diabetes. It's in my family history on both sides so I'm pretty fucked. This is one of the reasons I work out and eat as best as I can. My dad has had some close scares (he eats right and is in shape but still has horrible diabetes.) I've awoken to my dad mutter non-sense because his blood sugar was too low in the morning, had to call 911 etc.

Yeah...my bag...I'm still spinning from this. Sorry for being an asshole, but it hit a nerve. My dad's fine...but I had my mom scanned (they're divorced) and all my sisters. All of them came back positive for something weird going on. I'm clean but goddamn.

Pretty much anything like pancreatic cancer where by the time you know you have it, you've got six months to live. Give me some kind of enlarge heart condition where I up and die on a rollercoaster instead, thanks.

I have a few genetic disorders, a brain tumor, and an eating disorder. it's lame.

most of my immediate family has also gotten skin cancer.

I was diagnosed at 16 w/ the brain tumor, which is the same age my grandfather's sister died from her brain tumor.

I need some bleach in my gene pool.
