If you replace soda with water and Gatorade (because I know I couldn't drink just water), how long will it be before you start to notice a change in your complexion and before you start to lose weight?
>> Anonymous
You'll lose ~40 pounds in a year if you did just that.

That's what happened to me. You don't see results until it's over. Unless you take pictures.

Everyone knows that Gatorade is worse for you than soda.
Sage for troll thread.

gatorade should only be used during activity. although it think they jus came out with a gatorade for downtime.

Just drink 100% juice or milk instead of Gatorade.

yeah i'm pretty sure you can.

Mix juice with water and you get some awesome healthy drink tasting better then soda.
Srsly, if the only options to replace soda you come up with are water and gatorade I suggest you should watch less commercials and stop being such a retard.

if you have to drink juice, make it yourself from fresh fruits.

look at the nutr. facts on any bottled or cartoned juices, its fuckin ridiculous.

Gatorade is worse than soda.

If you're going to go with some non-water beverage, go for diet sodas or unsweetened teas. Or at least nonfat milk.

Just drink water.

You'll notice it pretty quickly, like in a week.

other then water drinks that are not good for you usually cost less then drinks that are good for you.
got a brochure from work talking about a fruit called magoosteen and a drink made from it called xango, it costs $25 a bottle hole sale or $40 a bottle retail. bottles are 25 oz.

Get some green/white/fruit tea if you can't stand the thought of just water.

ITT - idiots.. but i'm lazy and you're making the positive argument here... so give me yourevidence so i can shotblock your feeble attempts at outwitting me

Just drink water. I find water boiled then cooled down tastes much better than cold tap water.

If not, have jasmine tea leaves, costs fuck all and adds tot he taste.

If you stick to water, pretty soon you'll get addicted to the stuff.

I wouldnt drink juice or anything cos they're not as good as they sound and why not have some fruit while drinking some water if you want flavour.

I can't say much cos I just bought 5 cans of diet pepsi - shit is crap too regardless of the fact that they say it's 0.4 cal per can, damn addiction to pop.

agreed that water is good... but i find that when doing 7 miles in 100+ degree heat i need gatorade lest i start to flag earlier than normal...

I also use it for backpacking, (where i am usually the packmule for any ladies who encounter problems with their loads... means my pack runs from 50-60 pounds)... usually in 80-110 degree heat (though there have been trips where freak coldness has dropped morning temps to the negative fahrenheits... but i digress. heat + lang term heavy activity is when I feel gatorade is more efficient (always mix it at half the suggested ratio, even the gatorade company admits that is better)... other times i'll just enjoy the flavor

oh yeah before the fool who suggests 100% juice or milk... try chugging some milk in the middle of a heavy workout and see how much your stomach will hate you

Yeah I agree with you there, drinks such as Gatorade(haven't tried it myself), powerade, lucozade sport contains minerals and salts you lose during intensive exercise.

From the forums I read, some people add a tiny amount of salt into a bottle of water for the gym for that very reason. I don't do it though, the idea of drinking salt makes me feel more thristy.

There is nothing to dislike about water. If you don't have the willpower to give up sugar laden drinks, which I don't see the appeal of in the first place, then how committed are you, exactly? Stop wasting our time.

I suppose thats a good point - how serious you are about losing weight.

You shouldn't be concerned about losing weight, but more about being healthy.

But there's no easy way to lose weight, which sounds like the OP seems to want, losing weight via drinking gatorade.

Exercising is the way to go and if you keep at it, you'll end up enjoying working a sweat.

you're just replacing one sugar laden drink with another. it's the refined sugar making you fat. kill it all from your diet, many people will lose fat-weight. should be about 1-2 lbs per week.

replace with fruits. thousands of them.
