Sup /fit/?

I am tired of being chubby. I'm 5 foot 10 and weigh about 230 lbs. The thing is, I don't really look fat.. just a little chubby and if I told people that I weigh 230 they would be shocked. I guess I'm just a naturally big guy, I have really wide/broad shoulders. Anyways, I've tried the whole gym thing but just can't commit myself because I don't have ambition. And as for a diet, I really can't do anything about that because I don't make enough money to go out and buy myself healthy meals (poor college student) so I just usually get pizza and eat unhealthy meals and junk food. I need some tip's/inspiration to get rid of my gut, I think if I lost 30-40 lbs I would be a pretty good lookin guy. What do you think?

Try cooking for yourself. Costs a whole lot less than take-out and it's much easier to watch what you eat.

from an older thread:(also drink about 2 glasses of milk DAILY, and put honey in the tea.)

Diet: Stopped eating crap foods. Started eating fresh. Mostly did a high protein/low carb diet, but unlike most low-carb dieters, I didn't pig out on burger patties and bacon. Instead, I went for low-fat protein, like chicken, fish, and tofu. For fiber, I eat flax seed (mixed with water in a paste), sauerkraut, spinach, romaine lettuce.

After I had lost about 100 lbs, I started adding more carbs to the diet. I eat a cup of blueberries (antioxidants, yay) a day. I'm slowly adding more fresh fruit to my diet.

For drinks, it's either water or tea. No sweeteners in the tea, just plain tea. Green/white teas have a lot of antioxidants in them, and are good for boosting metabolism.

Exercise: I do between 20-30 miles a day on a recumbent exercise bike. This REALLY helps build up the leg muscles, and your ass literally shrinks. I also do around 45 minutes of weight training. I wore 10lb ankle weights at work for several months, but stopped to help save my knees.

I take multivitamin pills every day, as well as potassium (helps stave off muscle cramps) and calcium (to help keep the bones healthy).

I don't know if it would work for anyone else, but it's working quite well for me. Went from ~370 lbs to ~240 lbs in less than a year WITHOUT gastric bypass (I'm poor, can't afford). Still have a ways to go, but man, do I ever feel 1000% better.

Hardest part is getting to the gym remember that. It sounds more a motivational problem really i suffer myself. Rather i don't have the time to drive all the way to gym when theres work to be done!

So for me i try to make things easier weights in my room, burn calories whenever i can, carry all my books around etc.

The best thing you can do is workout with a buddy of some kind, you will both be obligated to go and you can kick each others asses to workout and such.

The trick is to build a habit. Habits(both good and bad) are incredibly hard to break once you get into the groove. If you can buckle down for six weeks, I personally guarantee you that as you approach the two month mark the effort required to stay on task pretty much disappears. As for your eating habits, contrary to popular belief nothing matters more than caloric intake. As long as you stick to 2600 calories a day, you can eat whatever the fuck you want. The main reason fast food is bad is because it takes up more of your calorie budget for less volume. A big mac meal with extra large fries and coke would probably be around three-quarters of what your body needs to sustain itself for one day, in just one meal! In short, just tough it out for two months, it gets a lot easier, and start counting calories. God speed!

Momentum make it easier to start. Just fall to the floor and 40 pushups, and then you might as well do some crunches while you're down there, and before you know it you might as well do the whole routine since you're sweaty and need to shower anyway.

carrots and broccoli are fucking cheap, faggot

5'10" at 230 is fat, not chubby, no matter how you sugar coat it unless you have lots of muscle; i have lots of muscle, am still fat, 2 inches shorter than you, but I'm 60lbs lighter

that makes you a fat fuck (or someone with a dumbbell stuck in their fro

healthy meals are cheap if you make them

also, if you wanna buy fast food that is healthy, one burrito bol [sic] from chipotle is like 7 bucks and good for 2 meals; it's healthy except for the fucktons of sodium

short tip: if you're unambitious, then fuck you i don't give a shit, you're fat, lazy, and making excuses

oh, and you're a faggot
