Hey fit, I have a legitimate question about an injury I think I may have just gotten. Is anyone familiar with P90X? Anyway, I did the program several months back in its entirety and I pop in the disc from time to time and do it when I get bored of running. I did Kenpo this afternoon and when I was doing the side kicks I heard a crack or snap in my leg and felt a quick slight pain in my upper hamstring. I've only gotten a twisted ankle in my life so I'm not too savvy on injuries. I didnt feel any pain or stiffness or soreness afterward- in fact I felt pretty loose, so after a quick ballistic stretch I went back to the kicks. Nothing. I went onto back kicks (which puts a lot of strain on the hamstrings) and suddenly I felt a sharp pain even worse than before. Has a pain like this ever happen to fit before and does anyone have an id on the type of injury? Any advice? (Besides not continuing the exercise for today and probably tomorrow)

Strain. With a strain, you pulled a tight muscle too far and it tore, or you pulled a tendon. To treat it, you need to do the R.I.C.E. injury protocol.

Rest
Ice
Compression
Elevation
