Sup /fit/, I'm getting trashed (Bridgeport IPA for those who wish to know) and doing homework tonight. I got sidetracked though and decided to measure my heartrate. It was 55 and I just did some pushups like 20 min ago.

My normal resting rate is between 45 and 49.

Question #1: Does beer make your heartrate increase? (thinning of blood perhaps)

Question #2: What's yo mohfuggin resting heartrate?

#1 Alcohol is a depressant, so it does the exact opposite.

#2 OVER 9000

What? Nine THOUSAND?!?!
im going to call shenanigans on this one because a shrews active heart rate is only 1300bpm and that is pretty high.

Why are you working out and still drink alcohol?

I know this may be strange to you, but some people like to drink....yet also like to maintain a healthy body. I don't drink heavily on a regular basis, but I exercise strenuously on a regular basis and it works for me. I have reasonably low bodyfat, sixpack abs to go with my sixpack of beer, and I excel at the sports I participate in, now tell me your fuggin' heartrate before I sodomize you!

I drink and work out. Lots of people do. As long as you account for the calories and aren't like, a week out from the Olympia, you're fine. Even then, you'd probably be fine.

My resting heart rate is 64bpm.

It's a vasodilator, so it decreases blood pressure and heart rate increases to compensate.

But, it also thins the blood, requiring your heart to pump more to get the oxygen around.
