cardio, my friends Anonymous
/fit/ I have a question about cardio.

You see I am just starting to get into this whole 'weight-loss' thing. I am pretty chubby, and mostly I am looking to burn fat, and because I am moving to the middle of nowhere very soon, I was wondering what body-weight only exercises would be good?

right now, I walk for 10 minutes to warm up, jog for a mile (ten minutes), or a few minutes more, stationary bike for 20 minutes and I am doing this everyday

also, I am following that 100 push ups challenge schedule, starting in week one. As I am a weak one, I only managed 11 pushups before my puny abs gave out and my enormous belly dropped to the earth like the 'Challenger' shuttle. I'm doing leg raised crunches and trying to think of other ways to work my lower abs.

What does /fit/ suggest?

rowing- learn yourself proper technique from the internet, do 30 mins a day, weight will drop off

I might add that rowing is good for heavier people as it's low impact and won't damage your knees

I SEE WHAT YOU DID THAR

But anyways, continue what you do right now, and as soon as you get more comfortable with it, increase the intesity of your workout.

You have intrigued me sir.

Can you recommend a solid yet inexpensive rowing machine, or is there a method that does not involve one?

will rowing work my abs?

OP here

Also, I have recently been instructed that if I overdo the cardio and perform too much of it, my body will begin to convert muscle into energy, instead of the fat that I want.

Now while I'm fairly sure that's not entirely correct, can /fit/ fill me in on some specifics?
