Sup fit. I've had severe weight fluxuations and just recovered from an eating disorder.

I started out at around 205, and over the course of the past 5 months have fluxuated up and down from 170 at the lowest and 210 at the highest.

I've been around 205 for a month now, and I've decided I want to make a healthy lifestyle change. And maybe I'll lose weight the healthy and proper way in the process. I stand at 6'2".

So, any suggestions for a beginners workout plan and diet?

Do like 5 pressups before you go to sleep, you don't need to change your diet.

We call that HIIT, it makes your heart rate rise throughout the whole night.. you can lose around 7 pounds a week doing that.

If you're a true 6' 2" there's nothing wrong with being at 205 lbs. That being said, starting a healthy lifestyle is always a good thing.
On the subject of exercise, walking/jogging/running is great and can help relieve stress and make you feel better overall. I prefer a first thing early morning jog whenever possible. If you are going to get up early to do it, make sure you're going to sleep earlier to make up for it. Not getting enough sleep is not a good thing. The next thing I would do is sit ups, push ups,

Accidentally hit submit...

If you are going to get up early to do it, make sure you're going to sleep earlier to make up for it. Not getting enough sleep is not a good thing. The next thing I would do is sit ups, push ups, and chin ups if possible. Dumbbells will help and are cheap and you don't have to go to a gym or buy expensive equipment. Just goggle dumbbell exercises. This should get you started.

For your diet, I would not start one of these fad diets, or even really diet for that matter. I could write a book on it, but I just recommend healthy eating. Avoid soft drinks, preserved canned and frozen foods and meals, and cook healthy. Grill, smoke (buy food grade wood chips near the grills, soak them in water for 30 minutes then start your grill and set the chips on the charcoal), and bake your food. Pan fry in olive oil if you want a crust. Learn to make simple sauces to dip meats and veges in. I tend to avoid pork unless I go crazy for a weekend and have some baby back ribs. The healthy sauces out there they just take some looking for and most are easy. However they really can't be bought in a store...
Always add vegetables to meals or have them as snacks, raw or steamed is best. I personally can't stand carrots and celery raw, but steamed is fine. Boiling or whatnot will just leave most of the nutrients in the water (which is often drunk in the south...it's tasty).
Just don't let eating healthy get boring and you'll do just fine.

Sponge is the most stupid troll around, never never follow his advice.

6' 2 and 205 is overweight, specially if his weight has fluctuated a lot for the last month. When he was losing weight, he probably did it by eating less, without exercising. He probably has a high bodyfat %.

Check the faq in 7chan /fit/. Try to eat 4 or 5 times a day, but on small quantities (400/500 cal. each), cut soda and drink water instead, do not eat a lot of fat (oliva oil on salad dressing should be enough), eat stuff rich in proteins (tune, most fishes, chicken, turkey), eat complex carbohydrates (oatmeal is tour friend), no candies, no refined sugars (eat fruits instead).
Start with soft cardio (biking) and some weight lifting.

Good luck
