Soup /fit/

So I was thinking about getting Creatine to help maximize my lifts and help me last longer. Anyone have any personal experiences with the product. Also what supplements do you like to use. (i.e. Protein drinks)
>> Anonymous
In the past I used just creatine anony...hyr..dro..ou...s... mon... Whatever the fuck. Pretty much raw creatine sold in bulk. Tastes like shit.

Right now I'm using:
Nutrex Lipo-6X (fat loss/energy/appetite suppression)
NO Xplode (creatine, energy, NO)
Cell Mass (preservation of muscle tissue)
ON Whey Protein

And I take some vitamin supplements.

Yes, that can be expensive.

how much do you spend a month on all that shit?
>> Ego
Creatine works, simple as that.

The 4 basic supplements that any person doing weight training should consume are:

1. Whey Protein
2. Creatine
3. EFAs (Good fats, ex: Fish Oil)
4. Vitamins

Yeah, I take some creatine chewable wafers. They seem to help me lift heavier. I normally take them the day I work out. No side effects that I've noticed. Drink lots of water.

When you go off creatine you keep the muscle you gained while on it. What you lose is the slight additional water weight accompanied with creatine (roughly 3-4 pounds)

I tend not to get into all sorts of crazy mixes of caffiene and unhealthy shit that's going to eventually give me heart attacks/liver damage.

I stick to GNC 100% whey and centrum vitamins. I may be putting on mass at a slower rate (about 15 lbs a year) but at least im not killing myself.

Thanks for the info.

Whats a good amount to take? I've heard that 5g before a workout is ideal.

>Best form is CEll-Tech by muscle tech
what a fucking idiot

cell tech is SHIT
>> Anonymous
I do my workouts explosively in sets of 5, each set until failure, and only 30 seconds between sets.

When I'm on creatine (3 months on, 1 month off), I definitely go harder in the last few sets.

>>5064

do yourself a favour and get pure creatine monohydrate. its cheaper and works just as well.

all the other shit is basically just creatine with tons of sugar added.

also be sure not to take your creatine with orange juice, it turns it into creatinine which is useless.

ok whats better than?

>When I'm on creatine (3 months on, 1 month off), I definitely go harder in the last few sets.

When you take one month off do you mean just cut down usage or just stop using the product for a whole month.

Supplement noob here, sorry.

celltech is overpriced garbage

I would absolutely recommend beta-alanine. It's a little more expensive than creatine, but it helps so much more, because it blocks lactic acid buildup in the muscle - an effect that you can tell works, due to the lack of burning sensation.

>>4822
Creatine works and it's cheap as hell. About $20 for 1000g of standard bulk Creatine Monohydrate (the only kind that has been shown to work.)

>>4830
NO products don't actually do anything. Proof: 1) http://www.t-nation.com/readTopic.do?id=556124
2) http://www.t-nation.com/readArticle.do?id=556939

>>5063
MuscleTech products are overpriced garbage. CellTech is nothing more than standard creatine monohydrate loaded down with a shitton of carbs. It's cheaper to just get bulk creatine and then any other cheap source of carbs that you want.
>> Jake
creatine is an awesome supplement to take.

the reason people loose some muscle volume after getting off creatine for about a week or so is because creatine helps your muscle to retain more water (which increases muscle volume).

any creatine monohydrate will do. and, the loading phase isn't really necessary because if you're taking it twice a day (30 minutes before a work out and then in a post shake sometime later) your body will become saturated with it soon enough. good luck and lift big.
>> Anonymous
GNC/CEll-Tech are ripoffs, you can make all of that for fraction of the price and twice as effective.

buy ingredients online and customize them.
I get mine off 1fast400.com.

If you are lazy get "Size On" or Green Mag

other wise just Creatine mono with Beta-alanine
>> Anonymous
creatine isn't harmful as long as you take enough water with it to make sure you don't dehydrate
you can't od on creatine you'll just shit it out
but you'll need to cycle on and off it so your body doesn't become fully dependent on it
it can be done lots of different ways but the way i like it best is 3 weeks on and 1 week off

i haz a penis :)

I'm with you on the N.O. Explode its creatine is actually CEM: Creatine Ester Malate it is a compound that is soluble in both water and fat.

Meaning: It can be mixed with water to enter your blood stream like all other creatines, but being soluble in fat as well means that a large amount can penitrate the cell wall.

tl;dr N. O. Explode: use less, gain more.
>> H.I.T.Man

NO explode has very little actual creatine in it.

If you would have read what I wrote you would have realized that that is the whole point.

Do some research more than just reading the label fag.

Arginine-based nitric oxide products actually hasn't been proven to work in increasing lean mass nor in improving strength gains. Not only are they useless and overpriced, they come with potentially deleterious side effects. Ignore the hype and invest your money in the essentials: a good whey powder, micronized creatine monohydrate, and a decent multivitamin.

Since I started lifting again I went from 135 lbs. to 265lbs. in 4 months. I attribute that to these products I take and my dedication. So I feel pretty confident with them, the only thing that could offset them is that I feel more confident on them. I've always wondered if that is why I can lift more while taking them.

On a side note, I love /fit/ where else could I have this argument and get some what honest feedback. Take note mods.

I used creatine for a four month weight-gain phase a few years back. It didn't do much for me. I noticed none of the recovery-time reduction that some people report. It was a moderately succesful gain phase, but most of mine are, so I can't really attribute that to creatine. Your mileage may vary, but I don't bother with it anymore.

My current supplement regimen is quite minimal. I'm in a gain-phase right now, near the end of it. I take AST 32X multivitamins, calcium supplements, and flax seed oil. I do not supplement protein, except for the occasional meal replacement bar when circumstances prevent me from consuming real food.

I can already tell that me and the whey protein fanboys here are going to have some fun times in the next couple of days.

About that, I've been researching creatine ethyl ester for some time now, I can't find any conclusive reports as to whether its increased solubility does indeed work better than monohydrate, or if the ester only accelerates its breakdown into its components. A lot of reviews say "Doesn't work, take monohydrate." Anyone have any personal experience comparing the two?

This guy has it exactly right man. Get a muscle and fitness magazine and flip over to the supps page to have a look at what supp does what. but i suggest just following the four that he suggests.

>>4994

and no shit to that post.
ofcourse if you run out of creatine your muscles go down.

the main purpose of creatine is to full your muscle cells with water so you can push an extra 5pounds. it doesnt actually increase you like protein or roids.

I take N.O. Xplode before workouts for energy, Cell Mass and Muscle Juice for recovery and size. Works amazing.

Green Mag

I was thinking about getting this the other day, but I didnt have the $40 bucks on me.

I heard its suppose to be good. Anyone else heard anything

has anyone taken No-xplode by itself? I'm curious about trying it, but I don't want to dump $60 on some crappy placebo. Does it really work as advertised?
>> Anonymous

>>6366
I have used Controlled Labs products in the past. White blood and Blue Rhino worked. Saw no change from Red Acid. Like Purple wraath. Havent tried GMag yet, but i like the company and trust them.

>>6384
I used to use no-xplode, but it always gave me an upset stomach durring and after my workout. I tried Animal Pumps instead and loved it. Pumps seem better and no upset stomach...but have to take them 30 min earlier than the the xplode since they are tabs, not powder.

>>6384
oh, and not everyone responds to NO products, but i sure as hell do. Love the pumps i get from them.

Its basically viagra for your whole body.
