Few General Q's Anonymous
Hey /fit/ I'm new here and I just had a few general questions (which probably get posted here 5 times a day for all I know)

I'm trying to lose some weight by just running and eating less, nothing too complicated.

Questions:

1) When is the best time to work out? I've heard that it's good to work out when you're hungry/starving, is this true?

2) Should I be starving myself? I kind of smell a huge shitstorm flame fuck fest here but my questions is kind of more complicated than that. I do want to change my eating habits, so I DON'T want to be eating the same amount of food I am now. I figure I should be in a constant hunger/starvation mode? But how good is this for the weight loss?

3) If I do not want to feel starvation/hunger constantly, can I substitute my regular food (rice, pasta etc) with just a lot of fruit mini-meals?

Anyway, don't feel as if you have to answer all of those questions. I just really want to get a good answer for #1

1. In the morning, before breakfast.

2. NO, dont, do not. Further down ill include some info on dieting, but dont starve yourself by any means. The idea is to burn the fat off with exercise, not starve it.

3. See below.

The best way to eat for losing weight is in small healthy meals around 5/6 times a day, go to google and search for a calorie intake calculator, enter the details and it will tell you how many you need, split that ammount of calories over the day in small meals as said above, avoid white bread and large servings of pasta and other high calorie foods. NO fast food, NO soda. Eat fruit and vegetables, exercise for 45 minutes every morning.

Thanks for the advice.
I can manage the no white bread and fast food thing easily, however I did forget to mention one thing:

I'm a pretty big drinker. I mean when I go out i'm usually getting drunk by the time I'm back. I know beer is really bad and such, but does this mean I'm going to have to stay sober now too?

How bad would it be just to take 3-4 shots of say 40% vodka once or twice a week?

Well it won't help, If you can possibly cut it then you should. Just remember that the less you settle for the less you get.

1. You shouldn't work out for a while after eating, but only because you will be sluggish from digesting, and some people will become nauseated.

2. Active people should consume around 2500 calories per day.

3. Your caloric intake should be around 30% from proteins, 25% from fats, and the rest from carbohydrates. You'll keep up your metabolism by having six small meals a day, and never skipping breakfast.

You'll go crazy worrying about weight; focus on body fat percentage.
