Dear /fit/, thanks for mentoring me!

You see, I started three weeks ago with watching what I eat and working out. My daily calorie intake amounts to 1500 to 1800 kcal and I take care at having protein sources. I do bodyweight exercises (pushups, crunches, squats) every other day. I have gone from barely being able to do 3 pushups to 10 in a row (with a couple of reps), and counting.

My pants have started to drop. Won't be long before I have to tighten my belt by one hole. Yet also I have gained noticeable amounts of muscle on my arms and legs. Especially on the upper arms there's now a pleasantly firm bulge where there used to be nothing but fat and bone.

If anyone reading this is still pondering whether to start it off or not: Do it. Now.

tl;dr: this shit is for real

Now you've done the "Start moving" phase, it's time to take it to beginner.

Get a gym membership
Add an extra 30-50% to your protein intake (if you're at 200g, make it 250-300g)
Get a basic 3\4 day split (2 upper 2 lower days)

Start taking some progress shots, and blow us away =D

Good work starting, congrats on your results, and keep trying for more.

I'm 180\6'1 and I've upped from 3k-5k

I was at my GF's for the weekend, only getting around 2k a day and no bullshit, my depression hit me like a freight train, once I got home and started eating, like, fucking gorging, I felt better.

I never would've thought that overeating (which quite frankly, anyone bulking is) would be, for lack of a better word, a cure for my depression.

And it's not like chocolates and lollies, it's chicken and rice, or steak and vegies etc, but without it, I feel so tired and drained, and everything feels like shit.

Moral of this story, keep eating more and more and more.

And to mr. 5k calories, count that, to the tee, you're probs overestimating, to actually get in my 5k clean a day, is fucking insane.
