>>168714 Aikido doesn't work that way. You don't grab for things, you make a connection, whether it be by blocking with the forearm or otherwise, then rip their hand/shoulder/elbow off. Again, your apparent lack of understanding of Aikido has caused you to have a misinformed opinion of it. I bet you believe that all the demonstrations with the attackers purposely rolling and falling before the technique is done makes it bullshit too, right? Completely ignoring that it's a DEMO if they didn't do so they'd most likely get something broken?
As for your "Kung Fu sucks" bit. I repeat: "Hey, boxer, fight me, but no punching. LOL BOXING SUCKS!"
>>168747 Again, that would be the style being taught wrong. Almost all Oriental Martial Arts started as a way to kill in trying situations (ie war). Having a teacher who teaches it elsewise is simply going to dilute the style much the same way that fighting in a rules-based fight dilutes the style. There are no rules in street fights, you disable the attacker any way you can and either run or call the cops.
>>168807 I would first like to apologize for not using a tripcode, or at the very least identifying myself in my posts, but that was not me. I have nothing but respect for MMA and the ideas you're trying to espouse. The problem is that it's incredibly inefficient. I've dabbled in BJJ, Wrestling, Boxing, Tai Chi, Jow Ga, Aikido (my current style), Tae Kwon Do, Shotokan and Kyokushin Karate, and Kendo. However, I am by no means sufficiently informed to decide which techniques from which art is the most effective simply because "dabbling" allows me nowhere near the level of expertise or understanding of each individual art to do so.
