Forgive me if this question has been asked to death.

Can I have enough protein for working out if I only take the everyday foods i buy from the supermarkets such as milk and boiled eggs?

I was thinking that if I eat enough of those I can get as much or more protein than those overpriced protein supplements.

Depends on what your goal is. It's possible to get the body of a swimmer or a gymnast without taking supplements, but you would have a hard time getting enough protein if you wanted huge body-builder muscles.

I am not aiming to be Schwargenegger (though I'll be glad if I could), I just wanted to lose weight and be strong enough to do all the cool stuff like weighted chin ups and finger push ups.

Yes.

Enjoy eating fuckloads of the same boring food all the time.

That was my mentality first when I started lifting back in April 2006.. trust me, you couldn't be SchwarzeneggerHUEG if you really tried. His body of the 70s was over 15 years of dedicated training, steroids (yes), and genetics.

You CAN get big and brawny on normal food.

But supplements will make it a little easier.

1 scoop of protein powder in 12 oz. of skim milk is 30-35 grams of protein in one shot. Not too many other foods will deliver that much protein in one sitting. Chicken breast, tuna, and lean beef cuts, maybe. Protein supplements are expensive too, a 1 month supply is 15-30 dollars.

Remember that getting HUEG is a goal that takes YEARS. All those body builders and strongmen have been training for years. You'll get some good results in the first 6 months and most people will be happy with those initial changes, but it'll be a long road ahead if you want to look like a brick wall.

Yes. Make sure to eat a lot of meat and dairy products. Unlike this moron>>300060said, there are many types and varieties to choose from.
