1000 a day seems a little much, you have to keep in mind that your body burns a lot of calories on its own, especially if you're heavy. keep a VERY close eye on how many calories you're eating too. if you cut out just a few hundred extra calories from your diet, that's just that much more exercise that you don't have to do.
either way, just make sure you don't push yourself too hard, and also take rest days. you can still do your cardio on rest days if you like, just do maybe half as much as usual. if you've never been a big exerciser in the past, you really shouldn't overdo it for a few weeks.
