vitamins and potassium Anonymous
I really hate bananas. I think I might be allergic to them, because just the smell makes me want to throw up. My friends are always bitching that I'm not getting any potassium, though. Are bananas really the only source of it?

Another thing is Vitamin D. I never go out in the sun. Is sunlight the only source of Vitamin D? I know they put it into milk sometimes, but maybe it's not enough, I don't know.

I was just thinking if I should try taking those supplements for potassium and vitamin D.

besides supplements, there are other whole foods you could eat to get what you're looking for.

a surprising amount of fish/seafood has potassium: cod, halibut, salmon, tuna, clams, etc.

things like dried apricots and avocados have more potassium than bananas, while almonds and all kinds of beans are high in potassium too.

not much hope for vitamin d...go outside or something lol. there are lots of fortified juices and yoghurts these days so look into that

At one point I had a vitamin D problem and while talking to my endocrinologist she decided to put me on Vitamin D supplements because I didn't have time to sit around in the sun to get vitamin d.

In short the only good way to get vitamin d is to either stay out in the sun or get a real prescription from your doctor.

Doctors prescription have about 50,000 units of vitamin d in a pill, over the counter have about 500

I live by myself. I'm really sickly and thin. My friends are all nitpicking for reasons they think I'm going to die soon.

I kind of hate talking to my doctor about this stuff, because he just starts ranting about how he thinks I'm anorexic. I guess I'll talk to him about a prescription, though.

Dried apricots sound delicious. I'll try them out.

Potassium is in more things than just bananas.
Second, sunlight is not a source of vitamin D. It helps create it.

If you're in Canada, don't bother going outside. Here, one cup of milk has 45% of the daily vitamin D intake. So drink 4 liters, and you've got 360% of the daily intake.
Also, enjoy your polyuria and polydipsia.
