How to prevent being sick Anonymous
I feel like I am catching a cold. I have big plans tomorrow and I can't be sick or else it will suck.
Its 848 PM, so I plan on going to bed soon. What will help? Foods? Drinks? Meds?

tl;dr I have pre-cold symptoms, halp!

Don't eat or drink anything. Take a cold shower and sit outside for an hour. Don't sleep tonight either.

You don't get a cold from the cold.

Get a glass of water, set it next to your bed. Do some type of meditation to get yourself relaxed (stress=fucks your immune system) and fall asleep ASAP. Get plenty of sleep. When you wake up tomorrow eat a hearty healthy breakfast. Drink that glass of water when you wake up by the way, don't go dehydrated. Take a lukewarm shower, brush teeth, clean yourself, stay calm. Get good nutrition.

that's like saying you don't die from jumping off a building. Of course the fall is not killing you but the impact at the bottom will.

I could bathe in ice water for 10 hours outside and not get a cold so long as I don't make contact with a person who already has the virus. You get a cold from human contact.

Your analogy is completely flawed because jumping off a bridge is the causation, you hitting the ground and dying is the reaction.

Being cold is not the causation of a cold, but it might be the causation of hypothermia or frostbite. Making contact with people is the causation and getting a cold is the reaction.

tl;dr HURR DURR

Try to get some of this stuff. I've actually tried it when I was sure I was going to have a cold by the next morning, and I never did. Just two sprays in each nostril. Make sure you get it right up there. Note: It's not very pleasant, and for like 20 minutes you'll probably think it's just made your cold worse, then it will clear up and you'll be happy.

His logic states that you could get a cold from standing in the cold because the low temperatures lower your immune system...but at the same time, you could also still not catch a cold but the chances are higher.

At the same time, you could die from jumping off a building because of the impact from the ground...but at the same time, you could also not die, but jumping off of a building makes the chances...much higher.
