Ugh. I hate dieting. I can't stress that enough.

It's not that I like to eat particularly unhealthy. I could go my entire life without sugar, drinking sodas, or eating candy, but I *love* some fried foods (like chicken hot wings, ect) and Mexican food, to name a few.

What kind of results (if any) would I see if I just continued daily cardio and weight lifting circuit training every other day while eating a somewhat lenient diet? I'm only trying to get down to a normal weight (which for me should be 20-30 pounds) so it's not like I'm trying to go for a six-pack, which I'm told is dependent on a strict diet.

well, just something on your last point, a six pack isn't always dependant on diet, it's alos bodyfat.

The guy I'm lifting with is about 6'5, 250 (And is trying to get to 265, but he can't gain any more weight. Ha!), and you can still see he has a 6-pack, but there is just a bunch of fat over it.

Also, circuit training is a bunch of crap, don't do it. Think of lifting weights as trying to get stronger, and not losing weight. Circuit training is doing low effort a bunch of times, to simulate cardio, and it jsut sucks, don't do it.

I thought weight lifting in addition to cardio is very good for you?

Yes, but not circuit training.

Huh. So, what about non-circuit based lifting with cardio and the proposed "lenient" diet?

You should be ok.

Also, a lot of those fried foods are ok, as long as you aren't having the sauces and shit that often comes with em, or the empty calories of the chips in the pic.

The most unhealthy condiments that I use are usually buffalo sauces and ranch, but I only eat that way about once a week at a particular restaurant. My family eats Mexican food somewhat regularly, so the only sauces are usually some sort of salsa, cheese, or the tomato stuff they use on enchiladas. And those Mexican meals are pretty much the only time I eat cheese, so I can't imagine that's too bad. I dunno.

The cheese isn't to bad, but a lot of the other stuff has a lot of sugar in it, and you don't get a lot of benefit from it nutrient wise.

Just try to avoid food high in saturated fats, high carbs and sugar.

Honestly though, what do you want more - a plate of greasy chicken or a healthy weight?
