Best methods to get an even skin tone on your face? Anonymous
I have some slight acne scars, and dark cicles under my eyes, not to mention a few blemishes.
Its not god awful, but sometimes I hate it when I see pics of myself. Anyway, what are some good practical treatments? I already use firming creams, face astringents and face soaps from neutrogena.

Is there anything more useful? certain lotions, or face soaps everyone on /fit/ agrees on?

ARG FUCK THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS TONING

Don't overuse the face stuff, if your skin dries out too much your body will try to produce equillibrium by producing even more oil. If you have access, best bet is to see a dermatologist.

As for the scars, they will fade with time. Also, some say that tanning can cause scars to fade and match your skin tone. There are also creams that are supposed to reduce scars, but it's not universally accepted to work. Worth a shot.

I used to have all sorts of complexion problems. I used so many facial products it was ridiculous, layer after layer. Through trial and error though, I've concluded that it's a massive waste of time. All you really need is a good moisturizer, not even one of those acne treating/moisturizer combinations. Something like Nivea for men, just after you come out of the shower. I started doing that and my complexion is almost flawless now. Your body can take care of a lot of things itself, just a little moisturizer will do wonders.

did you have oily skin?

Yeah I did. I find moisturizer helps regulate it. I had loads of oil around my nose specifically, and that's where I would get most of my acne. I'm fine now, I actually get many compliments on my complexion.

Every once in a while I'll try going back to a medicated moisturizer or a face cleanser, and I find that just brings things out and diminishes what I had going on so I quickly stop. I'm just sticking with whats good.

I haven't posted in the thread yet.

So do you apply moisturizer after getting out of the shower daily? How does Olay "complete" all day moisture lotion SPF 15 light, non greasy normal sound?

Yeah I do it daily, or whenever I take a shower. It will lock in a lot of moisture right away and you'll probably feel really oily at first but that's fine. Just make sure you work in the moisturizer really well (don't be rough obviously) and within a minute or two your face should feel great.

The product looks pretty good, and I actually went with a product with some FPS 15 in it for a while, but then decided to just try out a few new things. It's good if you're going to be exposed to the sun for lengthy periods of time. That being said however, the sun is great for your complexion. I'm not talking about tanning, but just going outside for a bit every day will add a healthy glow.

I'm not worried about the color of my skin, I just want to not have dry skin, produce too much oil, or get breakouts of acne.
I want to only get enough sun to produce my recommended amount of vitamin D, and then besides that protect myself plenty from the sun so I don't get a big ole growth like McCan't.
