Hey /fit/.
Fatty fat fatty here.
I'm trying to lose weight, and I've heard that that I should start off using ellipticals then start running. Question is, how should I use the elliptical? I usually pick a resistance between 6-8(out of 20) and churn out a constant rpm for 20 minutes. However, I heard recently that it's better if I go hard for ~3 min, take it east 1 min, go moderately for ~3 min, then repeat the process. Is this correct, or should I stick with the constant resistance/rpm?

Get one that has programs that vary resistance e.g.
O O
O O O O
O O O O O O
O O O O O O O O O

Should be cheap to get one, mines is at least 4 years old and works fine.

>Just used one of those for 15 minutes (burning off a little fat before I go for abs) and I use "Interval" setting. I go about 4 res. for 3 or 4 minutes, then it goes 5-7 res. for 2 minutes. Repeat. This works well for me and if you do it a few times a week you'll lose the weight.

Also try to figure out a good schedule, sometimes to mix things up I run 10 minutes, do 1 set of all my crap on this bodyworks machine, then run 5-10 more minutes, then do another set on the bodyworks.
