Hey /fit/

Started to get fit 12 weeks ago, have lost 17lb from starting weight of 224lb (I'm 22 and 6ft) so I'm 207 now.

I row and cycle at the gym mostly, occasionally some freeweight barbell curls or controlled ab, pec, lat, delt and tricep work.

My gym membership is up tomorrow (I'm moving away) and I'll have no cardio or weight equipment. I still have mantits and a pudgey stomach and I'm maybe 10-15lb off my July goal weight (I wanted to lose 30lb in 18 weeks, at this rate looks like I'll lose about 25)

I figured I'd probably need to be >200lb before starting jogging without my ankles turning to cheese? I have a pair of Nike Frees and Puma H Streets and would run half grass, half cement. Is there anything else I could do?

Sit ups, Pull ups, Push ups, Squats

Then run up n down the street for 30 minutes.

I can't get enough lolz at people who spend hundreds of dollars for a gym membership.

Start easy on the jogging if you haven't jogged regularly before. You don't want to have bad joints for the rest of your life for just losing weight a bit faster. Do the rest of your cardio on a bike or something.

226lbs here, and I have been able to jog fine for a while -- my stamina is the limiting factor, nowadays.

I'd say all you need to be able to jog is to do squats for a few weeks prior (for some basal leg strength to secure your joints), get a biomechanically fit pair of shoes, and run on the proper surface and you'll be fine. You may not even need the squat buffer, seeing as you do some leg aerobics now anyways.

Thirding the running. I started running at 210 and ended up with some awesome long-term gains because that's like a 160 lb person running with 50 lb of weights strapped to them--works out the calves real nicely.
