Low calorie foods I can scarf down? Anonymous
Yeah, so I have no willpower when it comes to eating. I have to eat, eat, eat, eat, and eat until I'm fully satiated.

I've tried controlling it, but it's impossible. I tried drinking a shitload of water to keep me full, but it doesn't work. I've done low-carb and it actually kept my appetite down, but cutting carbs entirely doesn't last long, and the moment I get a taste my appetite comes back with a vengeance.

So, here's Plan D: adding filling foods that are really low in calories to my diet to keep me satiated between meals.

What are some foods that can fill me up (I mean REALLY fill me up) and are incredibly low in calories? I'm thinking fruits, but then again I'd eat a fucking bushel of oranges if I had one. That's how fucking hungry I am.

This is really making fat loss difficult for me, even when I'm doing cardio every day.

HALP, /fit/!

I'd fucking eat it if it was edible. That's how serious I am.

Do this before each meal: Eat one serving of mixed vegetables, then wait 10min. Now eat your meal. You should be significantly less hungry from the fiber in the vegetables.

I'll try this, but I doubt it's enough to hold back the beast that is my stomach.

Garlic pickles. Seriously. You can eat an entire jar and it's only 100 calories on average. Satisfies salty cravings very well.

Salsa with plain saltine crackers. Saltine crackers have roughly 10 calories per crackers and salsa has 10 calories per two tablespoons. Might not be a perfect replacement for greasy chips, but it does the job just fine. Spicy foods also raise your metabolism higher than normal foods.

Tofu Shirataki noodles. Very similar to regular al dente pasta. Has no funny taste. Come pre-cooked. 40 calories per EIGHT OUNCES (that's half a box of regular pasta). Find a low calorie vegetable marinara sauce to pair them with, and you can wolf down a big bowl of it for practically no calories. Also good for stir frying or simply with soy sauce and some seasonings. Haven't gone back to regular noodles.

Butternut squash. Peels simply enough (might be tough if you suck at culinary tasks, the skin is kind of thick), easy to de-seed. Cut into French fry shapes, put on a sprayed cookie sheet (spray with no calorie sprays), bake for roughly 35-40 minutes at 425 degrees. Insanely low calorie version of French fries, though they taste a bit sweet, so it's more like sweet potato fries.

Similar to the above. Get a nice large onion. Cut into rings (if you can't manage this, you fucking suck at life), coat with egg whites only, coat with ground up rice cakes or low calorie cereal. Bake 'em all for 25-30 minutes at 375 degrees. Super low calorie version of onion rings. They're fucking delicious. You can make a whole onion's worth and it's only about 150 calories...and onions are generally dirt cheap.

Ballpark or Oscar Meyer 99% fat free turkey dogs. 40 calories, 5 grams of protein. Make fucking four of them if you want, it'd only be 160 calories. Goes good with fat free baked beans or just cut up and dipped in a low cal sauce. If you need buns, look for Wonderbread lite buns that have 80 calories each.

Frozen salad shrimp. Makes a perfect stir-fry with the above mentioned tofu shirataki noodles and some soy sauce.

Campbell's Chunky Health Request soups. Generally between 100 and 150 calories per serving, two servings per can. Great filling snack, especially their fat free clam chowder.

I'll post some more ideas when they come to mind. This is just some of the typical stuff on my shopping list these days. Just a few hours ago, I had one of the 40 cal turkey dogs pan seared in calorie free cooking spray on a lite bun topped with raw onions, a pickle spear, lettuce, and hot salsa. Shit was delicious and filling, no more than 150 calories.

Oh, yeah. I'm a fan of Boca burgers. They aren't really bad at all, but definitely different from a real burger. I can get a four burger box of them for about the same price as a pound of lean deli meat (you get four burgers per box weighing in at 4 ounces each...they don't cook up because they're all soy).

They make an original vegan type, a vegan onion flavored type and a vegan garlic flavored type that all have only 70 calories. Use a lite bun and top with typical vegetables for a burger (onions, lettuce, pickles, tomato slice, some ketchup) and it's about 160 calories. The soy protein keeps you full for a while I find.
