Wouldn't it be possible to have a diet of fruit? I'd love to get up, eat a couple of bananas, then at lunch some melon, apples, peaches etc, then for dinner again, but perhaps different fruit.Con wise I can mainly think of:-Little to no protein-Mostly "short" carbohydrates-Fruit gets expensive-Need constant supply-Crap in non-organic fruitI am so willing to try this, but cheat with a whey shake a day or something to keep protein up.Can /fit/ think of other cons or why it wouldn't work long-term?
This diet is not healthy in the long run. There are dozens of books and hundreds of sites that will tell you how great this is if that is what you are looking for.
you're missing fat and vegetables
Protein is the only nutrient you think you'd be lacking? Unless you ate a HUGE variety of fruit, you'd be the most malnourished vegan out there.
not possible to sustain without serious problems
you won't get essential amino and fatty acids. saying that fruit and vegetables are my only sources of carbohydrates.
I'm sure it's theoretically possible, but you'd have to take the broadest definition of fruit: Peanuts are technically fruit in the biological sense, as is corn.

>>406553No. You are not a gorilla. As on omnivore, you need meat, most importantly.
>>406553Very possible - It wouldn't be a problem to maintain.Getting OTHER essential nutrients might make it a problem. I suppose if you gobble-down on some avocados and take some supplements in between, sure, why not?
