Benzyl Peroxide.

Swim in it.

I do, it's not as bad as when I went to high school though. Going to try this cream with 10% benzoyl peroxide I got today.

Seriously, seriously:
Wash face, once when you wake up and once right before bed. DON'T SKIP IT ONCE, EVER.

2.5% works as efficiently and doesn't irritate as much.

Good lord, 10% benzoyl? You won't have an acne problem, because you won't have SKIN left.
>> Anonymous
If your case doesn't clear up, try a 15% solution of sodium hydroxide. Works quite well.
>> Anonymous
Don't use anything with alcohol in it.

Even though I said acne.org I'm betting you're too lazy to spend a lot of time on it.

quick tips:
change pillow cases often. some people only sleep on each side once before changing. If you buy enough pillowcases it doesn't become an issue considering you just wash them with regular clothes. It's also nice to always have a fresh smelling pillow.

don't take really hot showers, or don't let the hot water hit your face/acne areas

be gentle. really gentle. you should barely see your skin moving when applying the BP and gentle while washing it.

I'd advise against using cleansers with things in it to help scrubbing, those just irritate and inflame and then the sides of pores stick together form the inflammation and you get more acne.

Being gentle is neccesary. It will take months of routine before you are entirely clear, and about 4 months or more before the red marks are gone

wash your fucking face.

hydrogen peroxide works nicely too, doesn't kill your skin.
>> Anonymous
cut out your suger and go with a green tea. Greentea with blueberry if you can get it. Alot of greens ect just stuff to flush your system of toxic wastes.
>> Anonymous
Yeah, I used to have somewhat of a problem.

I started to apply a generic store-brand 10% Benzoyl Peroxide cream every morning and night, ideally 12 hours apart, and also a 10% Benzoyl Peroxide soap bar every morning during my shower. It's worked quite well, your skin can just become very dry if you use too much with each application.

and a 10% soap.

>> Anonymous

10% is really not that bad, the only risk is really dry skin if you use too much. If that's a problem just use less. Easy.

It's worth it; it's super effective.

But yes, it started working immediately, and over the course of a few months, it's worked wonders, and now I'm practically clear. You just have to do it regularly, you can't miss more than a day or two.

Which drying out skin and irritation from the concentration means more acne. He'd be safer with the 2.5%, honestly.

>>16119
The only reason diet effects acne is when it starts changing your skin and making it healthier, not because you suddenly have less toxins in your body.

Acne is not caused by toxins coming out of the skin, seriously.

OP, to aid in acne diet..arily..? You will want to take Zinc supplements, helps reduce inflammation and they sometimes have other Vitamins like C to help with collagen reforming which is less scarring.

again acne.org has all of this, good luck

Lemme correct your stupid ass here before you give green tea a bad name. A better diet does improve zits , and green tea does flush the system. The two go hand and hand but are not the same thing. Suger in the raw isn't as bad for you however as the high fructose corn syrup shit they keep pouring into all the foods. Also, stop saying "chemicals are bad for your face". It makes you look sound like a moron. EVERYTHING IS CHEMICALS.

Your immune function can be reduced by consuming sugar, especially if you do it in large quantities. Any time you consume sugar, you have a rapid increase in insulin production and an insulin-like growth factor. Without relying too heavily on technical terms, this increase can cause an excess of male hormones that are known to increase oil production and exacerbate acne.

If you are suffering from acne and are looking for a permanent way to eliminate it, you might want to reevaluate your diet. While medications can improve the appearance of your acne, they don’t actually address the cause of it. If you continue to have breakouts, you really should reduce your sugar intake and see what effect that has on you.

No, it's really not still being studied. I'm sorry if you don't like high fructose corn syrup - it is certainly not a healthy part of a diet. But sugars, of any sort, are not contributory to acne. That's just not how the skin works.

Best advice on how to hate your parents. I think OP was asking how to get rid of acne.

My suggestion, take antibiotics, they work the best but will usually give you very dry skin and kill your immune system (especially if you use them a long time, like a year).
Otherwise, check different methods, usually one will work for you when most of others fail. So, look around, try everything and make sure not to badly scar your face in the process. Acne usually goes away after you totally finish puberty but scars stay. If you still have acne into your twenties, talking to a GOOD skin doctor may be a great idea.

I used to have very oily skin and I'd get acne frequently...here's what's worked for me:

Out of all the facial cleansers I've tried, Clearsil Ultra daily face wash(with salicylic acid) helps the best. Use it each night before bed, gently scrubbing your face. Rinse, pat dry with a clean towel, use the Clearasil Ultra astringent(takes care of blackheads). Then, use the spot treatment stuff of the same brand(again, with the s. acid) on the problem areas. Moisturize the rest of your face with an oil free facial moisturizer of your choice, cause it's important to keep it hydrated as well.

For the healing spots, put the lotion on and also use Desitin original diaper rash ointment. Not kidding, it really does work. The zinc and natural oils in the cream do wonders for the red spots.

In the morning, wash all of this off in the shower with a benzoyl peroxide soap bar.

Drink lots of water, avoid sugars. It's not for sure whether or not sugar has a significant effect, but come on...it's bad for you anyway, just avoid it.

Change your pillow case every other night at least.

If you can avoid it, don't shave. The razor will irritate, try getting a pair of grooming scissors instead and trimming as close as possible.

Take a multi vitamin and also take extra Vitamin A on the side. I've heard Chromium shortages in your system can contribute to acne as well, so make sure there's that in your multivitamin. Try to go for tablets that aren't one-a-day, or split the ones that are. Your body can't absorb all the nutrients in a one-a-day at once, it's best to take it in two servings.

It's all helped for me :\ It's tedious, but just don't be fucking lazy. If you want clear skin, you have to work for it like anything else.

Actually, I found that shaving parts of your face significantly reduces the amount of acne that forms there.
Irritation can happen but by removing as much hair as you can from the spot will speed up healing and remove alot of the dirt that was there. Smoothing aftershave is also great to put on if you have sensitive skin.
Just my two cents.

That is true, keeping hair off your face helps a great deal. The problem with shaving is that it can lead to little ingrown hairs and infected follicles, which means more acne. Trimming is a sure-fire way to avoid that and you can get surprisingly close with just a pair of scissors if you take the time. A little stubble looks manly, anyway.
