Okay I was trying HIIT for the first time and right about at 10 minutes in I started to feel like I was going to throw up and I was cramping as if I were on my period. Is there any way to prevent this or should I just give up or try something else?

Seeing Pukie the Clown isn't a bad thing, but 10 minutes of HIIT sounds like a little too much for you if you're cramping. If you're just starting, I'd go easier and work your way up to that amount.

Careful of rhabdomyolysis, look it up, I'm not explaining it.

Ten minutes of HIIT starting out? Are you in shape or what?

Maybe I'm absolutely fucking retarded, but I was only able to start with four minutes HIIT doing 30 seconds sprint, 30 seconds jog. Even now, I can only do about seven minutes before I hate life. I'm doing all out sprints by the way, 100% and 40%.

How does this relate everything I read said that it was caused after being in a building collapse

I'm hardly in shape, I only run like 4 times a month before I started to try HIIT.

I was doing 30 second sprints then slow jogging for about 3~4 minutes

dear op,

i will relate a couple of truths to you.

1. you are a guy, you can't actually get periods. those are for women. you've met women before, your mother is one. perhaps you need to eat more fibre.

2. hiit is hard, it hurts and it will make you want to vomit, no matter how long you've been doing it. you cannont prevent this, it is half the point. you will learn to back it off a bit, and sometimes you will push it just to see how far you can go. you are not doing anything wrong. i have had 7 minute sessions which are the hardest things i've ever done in my life. welcome to it. what the fuck did you expect? if you give up because it is hard, you will never get anywhere in life you horrible fat otaku fuck.

love,

op here, i am female. I was saying I was cramping like when I'm on my period (which I'm not now)

I'll just try less intensity next time

Stay at that time until you stop cramping, then tack on a few minutes until you start cramping again.

Each time you end a run feeling 'great', add 2 or 3 more minutes.

if its hard and hurts, its worth doing.

no one not in good shape should be able to do 10 minutes first go.

I worked up from 5. Now I can do 12, max effort, until I feel like hurling.

HIIT for the fucking win.

when you guys talk about time what exactly do you mean you sprint at full speed for 5 minutes? or the whole exercise lasts 5minutes?
>> Anonymous
Haha I gave it my first try on thursday. 3 minutes w00t
>> Anonymous
>>58434
Not in the beginning.

You are supposed to warmup for first 5 minutes then go:
1 minute slow jog
30 second sprint (fast)
1 minute slow jog
30 second sprint (fast)
.
.
After 15 minutes
45 minutes jog
30 second sprint
45 minutes jog
then cool down

If you're doing everything for 15 minutes the frequency is shorter.

To get the full benefit of HIIT you really shouldn't be breaking for 3-4 minutes in between sprints. There are tons of methods to HIIT, so pick a different one.

I prefer two options:

30 Second Sprints
30 Second Rests
Keep going until die.

20 Second Sprints
10 Second Rests

This one really works you over.

I'm not a genius, but one of the key elements of HIIT is that the rest area in between sprints does not fully allow you to recover.

Do you do HIIT outside, or on a machine?
When I do HIIT on a crosstrainer (elliptical machine), I can't seem to reach my max effort level.

Hey guys can I do burpees like this?

Like say 30 seconds of burpees, 30 second rest, 30 second burpees, ect, ect.

Or instead of rest, should I replace it with 10 seconds of jumping jacks? These are pretty much the only types of cardio I do since I don't run.

Also, in before run.

I've been doing bodyweight squats, burpees, and jumping jacks for my HIIT. You don't even have to leave the living room, and when it's over you can collapse on a nice soft rug under a fan.

The rest is a little long, and it's really better to do the exercises by reps than by time because then you can't just wait yourself out.

>>58517

Hahaha yes, exactly.

>>58518

Hm, okay then. This stuff kills me anyway so maybe I'll pick up HIIT later.
