V sit ups, lay flat on your back and raise your heels 6inches and hold it there, crunches, leg lifts, and jackknife sit ups all work. don't forget to do some cardio too so your don't look like your just putting on belly weight.

Sit-ups actually mostly just work the fronts of your legs. Crunches are better, but don't lay down, slam out 100 as fast as you can and think you've done anything. Here's one way of doing crunches that I've found has worked for me. Your mileage may vary of course.

First, lay on the ground. Then place your hands under your chin like you're about the auto-asphyxiate yourself instead of behind your head. I can't remember why I do it this way, but I read somewhere that there's less chance of straining a particular muscle; honestly, the placement of your hands doesn't really matter too much. Pull your feet towards you along the ground while keeping your knees spread; when you have your knees up like you're doing a sit-up, you involve the legs muscles, and you're trying to workout your abdominals here. Raise your torso in a crunch; you won't be able to lift it completely off the ground, but you will be able to fully contract your abs. Hold for two seconds then slowly lower yourself back down. As you lay down, allow your abs to fully stretch out; this will involve raising your lower back off the floor, so you'd better be doing some lower back exercises. You ought to be anyways.

Try 10-20 of these, at least 10. Stretch afterwards by going into a push-up position, then letting your waist touch the floor. You should feel a pull in your abs if you're doing it right.

Hehe, the first time i did it i couldn't walk for 2 days afterwards because it made the tops of my legs so tight
