Hey /fit/, I dabble in martial arts and have tried a number of different points for pressure point attacks. I know of a good one, but I usually can't find it in any diagrams. This one shows it but the resolution is so small and in japanese or whatever so I can't read it. What is this name of this point?

OP here, It's actually on the back under the Latissimus muscle, I've found a lot of frontal diagrams that don't show it.

If I wanted to waste my time shoving people around, I would. This question is more informative, I can hit it easily and it causes a lot of pain, was just curious as to its name.

You're informing yourself with useless information. Seriously, are you taking aikido or ninjutsu or some shit like that? News flash - PRESSURE POINTS AREN'T EFFECTIVE IN A REAL FIGHT. I've rolled with ninjers and the like before; they tried their pressure points and their pinches and whatnot, and yeah it hurt a bit, but not enough to make me want to give up my dominant position and certainly not enough to make me submit.

And are you really implying that whatever pressure-point shit you're interested in is better than Judo? Or, for that matter, that Judo consists mainly of 'shoving people around'? Ok, go get on top of something that's around 4 feet off of the ground. Now jump backwards off of it and land flat on your back without catching yourself. That's what a Judo throw feels like, except that you've usually got the additional pressure of the guy pushing you down and the fact that as soon as you've landed he's going to start trying to break your limbs and/or choke you unconscious to worry about. You want practical self-defence, take a fucking Judo class.

They weren't doing it right. I learned a bunch in the miliary. I could make you submit by using pressure points. Arm locks are better for that though.

Okay, even assuming that they weren't doing it right and that your way is much more painful - it's not actually going to cause me bodily harm, so why should I submit? With most submission grappling arts (BJJ, Sambo, ect) the focus is on learning techniques that will maim or kill your opponent if they don't submit. THAT's effective. Making someone go OW OW OW SHIT is all fine and well, but what if he's angry enough that it doesn't really effect him? What if he has a high pain tolerance and it doesn't really bother him that much? Then you're fucked.

So seriously, go take a fucking Judo class.

That's why i said arm locks are better. Nobody wants to see their elbow ripped apart.

and also while fighting, you wouldn't grab someones hand and expect them to submit from pain. Stop being a retard. They are still handy to know.
Pressure points in the neck and groin will incapacitate a man especially if you are on top of them and they are winded.

Pressure points are LARPing, eight-sided-die rolling make-believe bullshit.

No kidding. I was a martial arts noob once and was walking over to my instructor who was talking to someone. Earlier he had been using pressure points on some guy who was freaking out over them. When he used them on me I just stood there and had a "WTF" expression on my face. Was hilarious.

the only pressure point you need to know is that after so much blunt trauma to the head, the human brain will shut down and be unconscious. Also if you cut the blood flow to the brain by blocking off of the major arteries you will also knock out the person.

Kneeing someone in the temple or chin or jaw will give the same results.

OP again, this guy is correct. And like I said, it is only an informative question, I don't have the time or the instincts to go after pressure points in real fights, it's just an amusement.
