Hello, /fit/.

This is my first posting here. In fact, this is my first visit here, ever. My question is...

Starting from approximately zero fitness, I have conceived of this plan: Strength training and cardio on alternating days, with one or the other every day. For strength training - one repetition of one hundred sit ups, followed by five repetitions of twenty push ups, spaced at 5 minute intervals, followed by 10 repetitions of 10 sit ups to cool down. For the cardio, I live at the top of a long uphill street, which I would run down, take a five minute breather and run back up. This would probably take 10-15 minutes (keep in mind I have no starting capacity for this).

I tried the strength training regiment today for the first time. By the end of the push ups my arms were quivering, so it was very difficult to complete them properly, but I forced myself to do them as well as I was able. I envision both work outs increasing in length or intensity as I improve, but I'm not really sure how.

So, is this plan bound to fail? What I am doing right or wrong? Any input from anyone is welcome, and even one reply is probably more than I deserve.

Thanks,

Anon
