Why does my weight increase when I exercise? I started training about three weeks ago and my weight has shot up 5lb to 16st 9.

I can't shake this off. Despite HIIT and resistance training, I can not get back to my original weight.

What the deuce is going on here.

First of all, 3 weeks isn't very long.

You haven't told us what you're eating.

If you're drinking more water, some of it may just be water weight. In that case, it's not something to worry about. Overall, your weight isn't what you should worry about, but your body composition. More muscle, less fat.

Are you just going by the scale or by, say, how clothes feel different?

Maybe you got yourself some muscle.
