I am feeling inspired and motivated right now. I am going to go running. I weigh 250lbs. I'm gonna run as fast as a can until I puke and keep trying.

too bad your probably going to over eat after your run and gain more weight. you should be feeling inspired and motivated everyday, if your not then you should be looking for something that does.

I suggest you hold back a little. Unless you're very tall 250lbs sounds like overweight to me. Go easy on your joints brah. Good luck.

This is the worst idea ever. Pace yourself, you idiot.

Would jogging at a brisk pace be alright at the 250-280lb range?

I've been fluxing at the range for the last 3 years.

In Highscool I combined Atkins with a grueling cardio regiment that made me drop from 250lbs down to 205lbs [4-5 months] at the point I reached 205lbs my body was crashing and the affects of Atkins was ruining every day activities for me.

I'm between 250-280lbs now quite often, cardio seems to be the only thing that works for overweight people, pumping iron never once seemed to work for me, even weeks/months at a time, definition almost never showed and didn't seem to help my metabolism as much as good ol fashioned running did.

probably because you werent eating shitloads and gaining weight like you have to if you want any effect.
Lifting weights = postponing gratification for fatties

So let me get this straight.

If you are fat and pump iron but don't get a increased food intake you won't build muscle? [I'm assuming you have to protein load]

What's a good protocol for building muscle and dropping weight at the same time?

Drop some weight via cardio first?

Should I lose like 30lbs via cardio, then bulk up with weights + protein loading, then mix cardio with weights?

lose weight before you build muscle

Don't do that, OP. Many people try to jog and their first time out they over do it and swear to never try jogging again because they felt like they were going to die.

You have to slowly work your way up especially if you are carrying a lot of extra weight. Try this plan:
