I'm no expert, but the things I look for in my diet are:
- Protein. The stuff of muscles, quite literally. Found most conveniently in eggs and meat, but also in some vegetarian food stuffs. Note that there also exist "incomplete" proteins, which is not what you need, so everything saying "proteins" is not right. (I once made this half-informed mistake by buying a huge pack of peanuts.) Can cause some constipation if eaten a lot, which is why you also need: - Fibres. Helps to *cough* make the digested food leave the body. I've been told fibres also help in losing weight. Fibres are found much in fruits, vegetables and grain products. - Water. The body needs that stuff. Also helps against constipation. Can be found in copious amounts in water.
Of course this is not everything the body needs, but I believe these are among the most beneficial nutrients. (And, probably, they're the things I happen to know about.)
