What is your core routine? What can you teach us about the core? Which are the most important core muscles? What is the best core exercise?
bicycle crunches are gruelinghere are the best exercises according to research:http://sportsmedicine.about.com/od/abdominalcorestrength1/a/Best_Ab_Ex.htm
I like dumbbell side bend
I might as well ask this question here... all I do are crunches. Should I be doing more than one core exercise? Or will just crunches be enough?
front squats.
Plank, when I get the money/time I will buy a tire and sledge to get a different workout.
>>244594>tire and sledgeWhat kind of exercise do you do with that?
>>244588Fuck yeah! You need some variety son.Try supersets of 10 Legraises -> 20 Bicycles (as described above) -> 30 Crunches (raising no more than 30 degrees) -> 10 Toe Touches (hold your legs above you and thrust up to touch them), also try mixing in some swiss ball maneuvers alternatively too.
To balance out my stomach, I also work my lower back. I lie flat on my front, with my arms by my side, then lift my chest up without lifting my legs off the ground. I have no idea what this exercise is called, but it works.
>>244614it would be like a back extension, similar to a hyper extension except that you are not lowering your torso lower than your legs. am i making sense?(by the way this is also a great core excercise)
>>244614That's called "the worm"
>>244614Get someone to stand on your feet, do it with a fist of space underneath, and hold your arms out to the side straight, put your hands on your temples, and then out in front of you in 30 second to 2 minute intervals. That exercise works everything.
>>244609http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=teFHFmLy-5ofighters do this to increase rotational core strength (increases punching power)http://www.megaupload.com/?d=qeu0owgh other workouts for building a fighter body
>>244611should any part of the lower back come off the ground during a crunch. When i do that i feel a get a quicker burn.
>>244592Seconded.Also, reverse crunch.
>>244632That guy is doing it fucking wrong. Very wrong. And he looks like the antithesis of a 'fighter'.
>>244653first video I typed in, didn't watch beforehand. I would just use vertical and diagonal swings in 3 minute rounds.
Squats, deadlfits, over head squats, cleans, snatches, trunk extensions. Your core includes your lower back.Ask your self when your 75 years old. Self: Why does my back hurt so much?
>What is the best core exercise?awesome stretch and really works the leg, ab, back and neck muscles
>>244685This.The big compound lifts are the best exercises for strengthening the core. BAR NONE.
>>244732>best exercises for strengthening the coreat the cost of flexibility.
>>244685i can't wait that long, what would the answer be?
>>244736What an idiot. Squats and those other exercises make you more flexible.
crunches, plank, hanging knee lifts, dragon-flys and Impact when I'm training boxing ( Impact involve rounds of someone punching you in the gut for a number of rounds, we usually do 2 3minutes rounds.)
>>244782not if they're done with heavy weights you tool
DEADLIFTZ
>>244879Do you have any idea what you're talking about you mong?Lifting heavy weights INCREASES flexibility.
>>244894i'm not you mong, douche. To an extent you are right, but too much weight and muscle mass will decrease your flexibility.
>>244906YOU ARE AN IDIOT. STOP SPOUTING YOU MISINFORMED BULLSHIT AS FACT.Phew. Squatting for core strength will NEVER harm flexibility. NEVER. You will get more flexible, the heavier the weight gets and the further into the squat you get.The only time you'd ever lose any flexibility, is if you were a juicing bodybuilder, and spent years and years getting that huge.
just, like, hit yourself really hard in the stomach 10 times each day.that's how karate ninjas train.
