Postworkout you want to have your energy and aminoacids stores replenished as quickly as possible so that recovery can begin, so its better to have a quick digisting food high in protein with some carbs. Idealy you want a protein shake.
Eggs are good for your pre-workout meal one hour before you hit the weights.
