hey /fit/ i have a question, i have asthma and every time i start doing any time of cardio it flares up pretty bad. i wont act up when i lift, but maby /fit/ can help find a remedy. fyi im currently on advair and albuterol for emergencies. i would really like to drop 30lbs but have trouble due to my asthma.

Just do weights then, carrying around extra muscle burns more energy

1/2 hour of lifting (to the point that you are breaking a sweat) will burn the same amount of calories as 1/2 hour of fast running.

Get a humidifier to moisten the air in the room your working out in. Also, long session, low intensity cardio seems to help asthmatics out with their stamina. It'll take a long time before you'll be able to work at high intensity levels.

asthma problems aren't as bad as you lose weight. Use your albuterol inhaler about 10-15 minutes before your cardio, it helps to prevent asthma attacks.
some of its asthma, some of its just being an out of shape fatty.
