/fit/,

I'm extremely poor, but a good diet is important to me. Pic related, it is where I typically buy my food I'm so piss poor (and recently was laid off due to my company shutting down).

How can I obtain a healthy diet when I can only afford crap food that is a dollar a piece?

by not being an amerifag and wasting money buying shit you dont need or buying shit that is overpriced

Go to maybe a real supermarket and buy vegetables/meat for cheap, make a nice dish which should last for a week and eat it all week each week?

Actually I do, all my money goes towards rent and bills. I don't buy random crap, and I've actually been selling a lot of my shit so I can afford to pay those essentials.

But my diet is still shitty running on items from the dollar tree. In America, healthy food costs an arm and a leg.

In this day and age, internet is practically a neccessity. And sorry, I don't have TV. I need the internet for many purposes and at 10 bucks a month, I can't really complain.

So STFU. Seriously. Without the internet, it'd be a shit-ton more difficult to go job searching. We don't live in the dark ages anymore you dumbshit.

Nobody said that he was on his own computer at his own house. I use my friends computers from time to time.

Hi OP! I had this problem too. I live in a food desert so sometimes things can be difficult.

What I had to do was go qualify for food benefits somewhere. You should have a place like the Department of Health or something that distributes this. This isn't a permanent solution to your problems, but it will help you for now. When you obtain this, please find a job again as soon as possible. Getting free things from the government still has consequences, we all pay for it as a whole when someone is given help.

Most of the time you'll be given a sort of debit card that has a fixed budget for groceries every month. With this, you can buy the food you need.

In the meantime, you're going to have to look pretty hard to find something healthy. Depending on what corner store you go to, you might be able to find some vegetables there. Some places will sell lettuce or some sweet potato. If not, then look for the canned stuff. Green beans will have to work if you can only find that.

Get some dried beans and rice to keep yourself full. If you have any more questions, just ask!

Woops, looks like he proved me wrong a few seconds before I posted.

Anyways, /fit/ should try to help him out, not bitch about his ways.

if you were really piss fucking poor that 10 dollars a month would be better used as fucking food instead for you to surf your gay midget pornography you faggot
if you were really poor you'd go to the library or a college and use their computers to search for a job.

Brown rice (more filling), beans [you can live on the god damn stuff], some cheap veggies (like carrots), cheap nuts (like peanuts), cheap vegtable oil, pepper, some cheap spices, salt, a multivitamin. Buy these all in bulk and they can last you a long long time. Get a $10 dollar rice cooker from wallmart, it will save you A LOT of hassle and time when cooking rice. DO NOT EAT OUT, cook a whole bunch at once to save time and you can bring it with you. If you must, try eating at a subway w/ their sub of the day. Pretty decent, healthy meal for $3. Hell you could just eat a 6inch sub for each meal and your food expenses would come to $270 a month (45 foot long subs a month). Maybe you can get a special bulk deal [talk to the owner/manager about this, not an employee] from them and make it even cheaper. Tell him you'll bring your business to another subway if they're not willing.
