hey /fit/I'm thinking of buying a home fitness set but I'm unsure what's the best bang for my moolah. What I'm looking for is to mainly exercise my abs and arms extensively. I've already a treadmill, and would be looking for one of those "all in one" sets if they match my requirements.Any suggestions?
bumping for links of the stuff I'm looking at:http://www.costco.ca/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=10312017&whse=BCCA&Ne=4000000&eCat=BCCA|111|2268|4603&N=4009298&Mo=11&pos=2&No=3&Nr=P_CatalogName:BCCA&cat=4603&Ns=P_Price|1||P_SignDesc1&lang=en-CA&Sp=C&ec=BCCA-EC10471-Cat2268&topnav=http://www.costco.ca/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=10312016&whse=BCCA&Ne=4000000&eCat=BCCA|111|2268|4603&N=4009298&Mo=11&pos=2&No=4&Nr=P_CatalogName:BCCA&cat=4603&Ns=P_Price|1||P_SignDesc1&lang=en-CA&Sp=C&ec=BCCA-EC10471-Cat2268&topnav=http://www.costco.ca/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=10298000&whse=BCCA&Ne=4000000&eCat=BCCA|111|2268|4603&N=4009298&Mo=11&pos=2&No=8&Nr=P_CatalogName:BCCA&cat=4603&Ns=P_Price|1||P_SignDesc1&lang=en-CA&Sp=C&ec=BCCA-EC10471-Cat2268&topnav=
Get free weights, unless one of your requirements is USELESS, then get one of those gay machines.
So free weights are all I need and I cannot accomplish the equivalent with any of those machines?(I'm not being sarcastic, if that's true then wonderful)
Free weights, adjustable bench, and squat rack. You can get some size from those home gym machines, but they don't really involve any stabilization, so you will be a big muscley pussy that gets injured easily.
how about something like this?

?Adjustable Bench + Free weights...where am I going wrong with this one?
for a complete home gym you need :power rackadjustable benchbarbelladjustable dumbellsdip barsthis is all you need, you can work your whole body, and its minimalist, which will prevent you from doing foofy shit
>>166888How much would such a set cost?
>>166888I made a wooden frame out of 2x4s for dipping in my power rack. It's easy. Also, adjustable benches... not opposed to the idea, but add a flat bench. I've never found an adjustable bench that doesn't come loose and start wobbling after a few months, and I've spent hundreds on them.
ok thanks for all your help. I think for now I'll do what everyone says and have a minimalist approach. I'll first purchase an adjustable bench + adjustable weights and see how those work out. I'll probably add the extra components down the road (dip bars etc). Thanks again /fit/
if you want truly minimalist, all you need is a mat, and a pull-up bar.
