Guys, don't know if this is the right forum, but since the brain is also considered a muscle, I'm wondering if any of you know of any good brain-fitness exercise. I read puzzles n' shit really help out. Then I read that writing with your left hand (if you're right-handed) can help work-out the left side of your brain, then I came upon an article saying that this cause some sort of brain-damage.

Here's the link to the article http://www.linkshaender-beratung.de/english/Ambidextrous.htm

So I was using that same exercise, and now I'm afraid of doing more bad than good.

So, wtf do I do? I really want to improve my thought patterns n' shit.

I didn't read the whole article, but I'm guessing if you did the left handed writing thing for all your life, you'd show symptoms of what the article is talking about. I doubt that writing with your left hand for less than a year would affect you.

Also, try those games like Brain Age or Big Brain Academy for the Nintendo DS. They don't have to be for the DS, I'm just using those examples because I don't know any more.

I'm pretty sure browsing 4chan does way more damage than writing with your non-dominant hand once in a while.

Do the crossword puzzle in the morning or a sudoku book. Or just read some books that you enjoy. Stressing yourself out over little things like this is probably way worse than any benefits you'll gain from things like this. Also, I heard eating with chopsticks helps prevent dementia, so if you're a wee then good news for you.

>the brain is also considered a muscle

Wrong. The brain is an organ. A muscle is either cardiac, smooth, or skeletal. I stopped reading after that.

Writing with your left hand works out the right side of your brain, not the left. Right handed people are often good in things like math/other highly scientific knowledge. Lefties usually are better at music and art, as well as poetry, etc.

That's not a generalization, just what I've heard from college. Right=left I guess.
