I have amazing willpower, but when my will is to do something I shouldn't, it doesn't help with that. Change your wants, or else it will be a constant battle.
Alternatively, be able to consistently and constantly win said battle every time it arises.
Although hypnotism might work, what works for me is thinking of how unhealthy it is, or other negative things about it, and then it isn't quite as appealing.
If something is bad for you, it should be easy to find a good, solid, honest reason why you shouldn't do it. Use that to understand why it's less appealing - rather than why you can't "allow yourself" to "indulge."
