I've been in a gym for almost4 months. The thing is that the trainer makes me do 4 series of 30-40 reps of everything, I'm not used to this kind of training, and think its useless. What is this training for?

tell him to go eat a brick and start doing some 10x3 or 8x2 or 20x1 or yeah, you get it doing that many reps is a waste of time unless you're training specifically for something that requires a lot of muscular endurance
