Parkour Body. Anonymous
TLfucking;DR
Need free weight routine and conditioning routine ideas to achieve parkour/free runner body.
________________________________________

I've just recently found out the harmful effects of relying on weighted machine excersize units for muscle gain; all that jazz about stabalizer defficiency.
I want quality, not quantity.
Anyways. My lifes dream is to be incredibly agile, completely balanced, proportionate, endurable, and most of all; CONDITIONED.

I want a body perfect for Parkour, so bulk isn't only something I don't want, it's something that will totaly work against what I want to do with my body.

a good example of the body I want is like those hip-hop dancer people, although I couldn't care less about dancing or b-boying right now.

Anyways, now that I'm heading more towards freeweights, I need to know what I should be doing routine wise.

I've heard that squats will beef you up, I'm actually looking forward to squats because it intensifies your balance and makes your knee joints stronger, very important when jumping off 8 foot platforms onto hard concrete.

I also heard squats make you short, is this pure fucking bullshit? tell me so.

try benching with chains. Your gym sould have them Put mabye 50 lbs on + 35 lb bar and some 25 lb chains. The chains rattle and make you stabalize your movement. If that is too much for you reduce the weiht but keep the chains. As for agility running, sprinting, jumping vaulting etc...

ok, I am about to admit something totally ghey. I watch "So You Think You Can Dance". The winner this year, Josh, is a big, buff guy that can move like crazy and jump like insane. Seriously, bulk only slows you down if you don't practice using it for speed. And for fucking crying out loud you won't turn into Arnold over night, if you think you are starting to over bulk just cut back, but protip: if you aren't trying to get hueg it won't happen. People don't accidentally end up huge, idiot.

the point of the thread isn't being that I'm afraid of bulking, I get all that.
what I want to know is how to train my core, regardless of bulk, so I can control whatever bulk I have.

quoting myself
>Also, I'm not afraid of building large muscle mass, as long as it is completely controllable, and does it's share of work in accordance to how much it weighs.

kettlebells. I love kettlebells. You constantly move them quickly but have to keep them under complete control.
