My deodorant/antiperspirant gave me a really bad rash on my arm pit about 5 months ago.
I rub it when i first wake up (it usually bleeds, the skin is really flaky) and then I shower.
When the water touches it, it burns for about 10 seconds then stops. After I shower, I let it dry and then put on deodorant/antiperspirant (i switched brands and it didn't help).

Any idea what it is/how I can fix it?

Pic related, my armpit

stop using antipersperants
they contain metal
you are having allergic reaction to them (they build up in your skin/blood)

antipersperants stop you from sweating
deodorants make you smell better

stick with deodorant and you should be ok

What if I take allergy pills every day?

My left arm pit is fine, it just says "DON'T APPLY TO OPEN SKIN, IF RASH DEVELOPS, DISCONTINUE USE."

you are gonna have to get something without metals

the metals clog your pores which is what stops you from sweating

everybody sweats

arm and hammer baking soda deoderant works for me. I have the same problem with both undearms.

rash has developed, discontinue use... some people are allergic to the type of metal they use (I forget what it is)... some people also think it causes cancer...

tl;dr - shower and use deoderant

baking soda is the best, NATURAL!, odor eater...but i sweat too much for it to last all day...

sounds like op either had a reaction to the chemical ingredients of the sweat stick, or you could have a fungal infection on your skin? Did u share your deodorant with anyone else? I ask because i dont think an allergic reaction constitutes dry, cracking skin.

Agreed. Get Arm & Hammer unscented antiperspirant/deodorant and try it for a while. I had bad underarm irritation from the frangrancing or whatever and have had no more since switching years ago.

rofl I use baby powder for rashes.

I believe its the aluminum in the deodorant your using thats causing the reaction.

Stop using it, and you have to wait until whatever allergen it is in the deodrant to come out of the skin - this would mean sweating it out one way or another, ironically.

Also, switch brand of deodrant, just in case it's not the antiperspirant chemicals, and you are allergic to whatever forumulation of the brand of deodrant.

Agreed. OP, you need to stop with using deodorant until this clears up. Use some hydrocortisone to relieve the itching.

Anti-persperants don't work by clogging your pores with metal-based compounds, if that's what you're suggesting.

OP here.

From what I understand, I should switch brands or stop using my antiperspirant?

I was sick for 2 weeks and didn't wear any while I was laying on the sofa getting better. It didn't clear up at all.

I changed brands from Axe to Degree (still using the antiperspirant version though) and it hasn't gone away.

I don't think I can stand going around for a month without antiperspirant on, I would smell like garbage.

I had a similar problem where my armpit got swollen. I just switched deodorant and the problem was solved.

It took me less than a week. Maybe 3 days or so. You won't have to go a month.

If it didn't clear up while i was on the sofa for weeks then it won't clear up in a few days.

I'm off to the store to go buy some deodorant, i hope this shit works.

You're supposed to sweat, stop using antiperspirants.

you might be having an allergic reaction. If not, using to much. Your not suppost to oooz it on there. gently Rub it. Not psh and squish, slide across.
