Forgot to bring Slim Fast can for work lunch today. Got nothing prepared.

Got an hour to go find food, hunt it, kill it, eat it, and get back to my desk. Whats healthy-cost effective-and not disgusting for a fat man trying to lose weight on the go!

/fit/s thoughts?

tl;dr - Fast food for fatty in fifteen minutes or less.

Subway. The six subs under six grams of fat are all ok. Some of the other subs are also alright from a calorie standpoint.

In times of crisis, Wendy's is the best choice for fast food, since they have "healthy alternatives" to french fries.
Get a #5 (grilled chicken sandwich) with a caesar side salad and a diet coke

Crap, forgot about them.
Tried a few -they oddly tastes like bread and a lot of onions. Any chance I can avoid breads and do something else?

(That and they have terrible parking ((This is why those Slim Fast shakes are easier - Id eat a whopper for convenience at this point)))

I LIKE THE WAY YOU THINK AND IM EXCITED TO BE A PART OF IT!

Is this really ok, though?

Oh yeah, Subway... I forgot about that. Lol.

Avoiding breads makes it tougher. Most of the burger places have salads that aren't terrible for you, if you follow the nutritional guide closely. Alternatively, you could hit up whatever asian fast food you have available - just dump the rice.

Subway - breads and onion -ugh. They all taste horrible ;_; but thanks, i might resort to it

Wendy's: Id love a grilled chicken but to be honest -if i drove all the way there i KNOW that baconator would call to me

Fast Food salads - chew like the burgers without meat and bread ;_;

Im screwed but to be honest, on a diet, nothing is gonna be appealing -not sure what i was trying to fool myself for.

(With the Slim Fast at least it swigs down an appetite suppressant to bypass this need for a satisfying meal)

Ill try to find a good cesaer salad on the highway (PRAY FOR ME!)

Could try going to a supermarket for a sub or something, they may (and usually are) better quality.

Yeah but i think the subway subs tastes like crap because they intentionally avoid dressings, meats, and cheeses to stay in that "healthy" margin.

So getting a sub from elsewhere is sorta shooting myself in the foot anyways, no?

I guess. I just never liked subway because it always seemed like they just had.. bad quality subs. That LOOKED bad when they made them, and that's hard to do really. Maybe just my Subway.

Anyway you may be able to find a lunch salad at a supermarket too I'm not sure. Or just go buy a slimfast pack and the rest will stay cold enough in your car.

If you have Potbelly locally, some of their subs aren't horrible for you - check their website for nutrition details.

Quiznos is absolutely awful from a health standpoint.

Panera has some decent healthy options, if you chose very, very carefully.

I know I'm forgetting at least one sandwich place, but fuck if I can remember.

Go to the store and buy some fruit and veggies. I refuse to believe that the only places selling food within ten minutes of you are fast food places.

Of course not but going out on lunch to pick fruit just seems defeatist. (Sadly, thats pretty much my dinner everyday)

In summary: I hit Pollo Tropical. Got an absolutely outstanding Chicken Caesar Salad and bottle of water for 6.50 (cashier messed up).

NEW QUESTION:
IM STUFFED TO THE GILS! The salad was great but the portion is clearly too huge and as a man I cant well and say "Can i wrap the rest of this *salad* up?" while growing up poor I cant find it in my heart to throw away anything I paid for unless its good and #%^&ed up.

So the new question is - does eating a GIGANTIC chicken caesar salad negate the healthy effects? Is it equiv to a small burger and fries? Did i just totally shoot myself in the foot? How bad is eating Too much salad (im sure the veggies are fine but when they pile on chicken and caesar dressing -i start to doubt things)

tl;dr2 - Is eating a grossly huge chicken caesar salad as unhealthy as just eating plain unhealthy food? What say you, /fit/?

Welcome to the land of portion control.

Why exactly do you find that being a man prevents you from asking for a doggie bag? Does your penis get in the way?

when you order cheese at subway, can any of you guys actually taste it? I realized I don't so I put a stop to adding it.

>>Does your penis get in the way?

EXACTLY! Thank you, I didnt want to have to say it myself.

Well aside from the giant pen0r, I find the idea of wrapping up food and walking around with it, bringing it back to work, taking it out of the work minifridge and throwing it in my car, driving it back home and putting it in my fridge, and then deciding the next day that its no longer fresh -thus worthless -thus thrown away anways, that; i find that whole idea distasteful, really.

Id prefer to find a place that might sell Chicken Caesar salads by half portion. Im mean there is really no need to give me a MIXING BOWL of salad ...although i'll take it /shame

I am weak!

I cant taste anything at subway. Seriously, bread and onions. I get their single cold cut of turkey just to convince myself I havent turned into a gerbil.

All chicken is good chicken. EAT UP

But is there such a thing as too much salad?

How much salad would it really take to say "You might as well have had hamburgers for all the good it did you!"
>> Anonymous

when you have a mcdonalds salad and use the salad dressing that isn't low cal balsamic vinegarette...also, when you eat your salads, make sure that the lettuce isn't iceburg it is majority water and has nothing in it worth anything. Also, with your salids add low cal things (if you can find them in your amerifag stores) such as white asparagus and hearts of palm. They taste delicious and are very healthy for you. And all of this is coming from a 290lb fatty.
