Hey fit,

I have started weightlifting about 3 weeks ago and even though I train to failure (on the last set) and noticed clear improvement after each week (even between individual training sessions), I get no muscle soreness whatsoever.

I did get DOMS the first week, during which I went twice. Then I did 3 session during my second week but none of those resulted in DOMS.

I do get the pumped feeling and can feel for most of the remainder of the day that I definately worked out, but the next morning it feels like my recovery is complete. In fact, at the end of the 'recovery' days I felt like I should have done another session that day.

Any thoughts on what's up with this?

I think I have my routine down pretty well:

I eat some sandwiches (whole weat) with meat, peanut butter or cheese and a big glass of milk every 3 hours. Whey protein in the morning, post workout, and before going to sleep. Also some creatine after each workout. And of course I a nice warm meal for dinner.

I do 3-4 sets of 8-12 reps. Leg press + calf raise, shrugs, leg curl + leg extension, shoulder press, seated high row + lat pulldown, peck deck + seated crunch, and finally biceps curl + triceps dip. (+ combinations are supersets)

Congratulations, you've discovered one of the basic facts of weightlifting! a lack of soreness DOES NOT mean a lack of gains.

Creatine is retarded. Work out naturally or else your muscle mass will melt like butter when you stop. Also, you have to drink a shitload of water if you want it to be effective.

yeah creatine's all just water weight. you don't ACTUALLY gain anymore muscle with ADP being turned into ATP by bio magic through the use of phophocreatine carrying extra water into your cells, more or less tricking them into creating more protein. So more energy and more fuel, who needs that amirite?

you people make me fucking sick. do your homework.

Cool, thanks.

If it feels like things are going well when I try my fullbody workout every day instead of every other day, is that a frequency that can be maintained or does that have bad idea written all over it?

Your theory is bullshit.

During the time you are taking creatine your gains are substantially greater than what they would be without it. Despite the size going away, these gains are permanent so long as you keep up a good nutrition and exercise regiment.

Well if he's taking it after the workout, what's the gain there?

That's not the fucking point dipshit.

Unlike protein creatine can be stored for longer than 3 hours so taking creatine post workout is for maintaining the level of creatine in the body after the loading fase. At least that's what I've read about it. Taking it consistently seems more important than at what time of the day.

How I understand creatine is that it enchances your weight lifting capabilities - by providing your muscles with more enery allowing you to lift heavier weights thus increase your muscle size; It also increases energy and recovery speed. I also understand that using creatine minimizes muscle loss.

A lot of bodybuilders seem to swear by it and you have to "load" it into your system a week before by taking the required amount daily for 5-7 days and then smaller amounts after that I believe (not 100%).

It's best to read up on it yourself, a lot of professional athletes use it.

Use it for a few weeks and take a break for a few weeks. Or else your body will produce less creatine.

You do have a point. I used creatine and it worked for me for awhile. But after I stopped, my muscles started to shrink a bit. I didn't train less nor did I ate different.

Creatine is a good start for beginners, but for the semi pro's either pump yourself with proteine or the extreme way (steroids) which will make your balls shrink!, since your balls will start to produce less testeron. Since the body starts to receive it artificially by hand.

btw, I am all natural btw. Getting back in shape is easier when you are natural imho.
