sup /fit/
i've been trying to eat healthier lately. here's my usual meal plan:
breakfast: go lean crunch (i like the flavor) with fruit, or eggs with multigrain whole wheat toast and jam. i usually have a small glass of 1/2 cranberry juice, and 1/2 water.
lunch: usually a sandwich with turkey, lowfat cheese, lettuce, onion, and mustard on multigrain whole wheat bread. I usually have fruit with it. water to drink.
dinner: usually grilled or brioled chicken, boneless/skinless. i occasionally have an atlantic salmon filet steak instead. i have salad with every single dinner, with lettuce, dried cranberries, onion, feta cheese, and a light homemade balsalmic vinigarette dressing (little bit of olive oil, balsalmic vinigar, and a touch of italian seasoning)
snacks: i'm not too big on snacks, but if i get a craving for something to eat, i usually have fruit or vegetables. i might make myself a lowfat smoothie for dessert.
so /fit/, am i eating healthy enough to lose some weight? lacrosse season is starting soon, so that will be my 2 hours a day running/cardio. i'm also getting a bowflex soon to increase strength. will my diet go well with that? if not, what changes need to be made?

...no, just no. NONE OF THOSE ACTORS IN THE COMMERCIAL GOT THEIR BODIES BY USING A BOWFLEX. you need to put in hard work in a weight room if you really want to increase your strength.

well, i'm not going for looking like one of those models in the commercial. i know they're paid actors that didn't even use the bowflex. but, my uncle got one, and he says it works great.

>multigrain whole wheat

As I've learned from lurking moar, you want "whole grain bread", not multigrain or whole wheat, which are typically processed grains with molasses added to make it look brown.

Also what kind of lettuce is in your salads? If it's iceberg lettuce you're getting pretty much no nutrition out of it. Switch to mixed greens/spinach/romaine etc. something that is dark green.

Also I suggest a low sodium marinade for your chicken (lemon, etc.) so you don't get so bored you want to kill yourself in a month.
