what do you recommend i eat before and after a workout? how early before a workout should i eat?
>> Anonymous
I'm not going to bother typing out the complicated answer, because i honestly think the simplest thing I can say is

1 scoop protein powder, 1 cup soy milk, 1 cup ice, 1 cup unflavored creatine, blended

Obviously keep your meals well balanced, proteins, vegetables, whatever, but otherwise you can drink a shake quickly after a work out quicker than you can try and scarf down a whole meal. I'd go so far as to say for the casual weightlifter (most /fit/ fags) your diet should reflect more about what type of weightloss/gain you are looking for.

sorry, and i meant to say, eat your meals like 1.5 hours before and after, but the shake should be consumed within 45 minutes of your last excercise

eat, wait about 2 hours and then do workout. Dunno if it works but thats how I do it :D

I always grab a fruit before a workout. You need some simple carbs for glycogen to push yourself.

Eat A LOT after your workout, lots of carbs and protein for muscle repair. The ideal window is within 1 hour after.

not a great idea. you should wait at least 30mins after your workout to refuel

no man, eat fuckin asap, why would you wait 30 mins? if you ate 1 - .5 hours before training, trained for an hour, thats like 2 hours without food. 2 hours later, its time to fuckin eat brodawg

because research shows that if you take nutrients within 30mins of your workout it may actually stun protein synthesis - eating 2 post workout meals 30mins after lifting have shown to be optimal for gain

you are nitpicking a 1% difference detail instead of lifting fucking weights.

what the fuck? I actually try and post some useful info on /fit/ instead of going 'OH HIIT SQUATZ RONNIE' and i get shit for it?

Its even better that you assume that just beacuase I try to find out how my body works I must be some kind of weakling. Enjoy your curls and above parallel squats

Noone here is so advanced that they need to worry about the little details. Just eat/drink something protein rich with an hour of working out, and get some carbs in at some point too. I guarantee that is effective enough.

so you are saying that the post-workout meal is a 'little detail'?

wtf? 'effective enough'? Great job on underachieving.

holy shit /fit/ what the fuck is wrong with you today
