People have some fantasies about martial arts. You'll likely do 20 minutes of fitness/warming up in a 60 minute lesson.
These 20 minutes will be jogging, press-ups, sit-ups and the like; nothing you couldn't do at home.
Karate isn't a very extensive work-out itself, to be honest. Fuck off all you "not doing it right"'ers. It's tiring but I doubt it burns many calories. I'm a black belt and I doubt karate actually does much for my fitness in of itself.
