In THAT case, cottage cheese. In a blender. I am not kidding. 250 grams of it in a blender with a medium to large banana and apple and about 350ml of skim milk. Around 40-43 grams of quality, slow-digesting casein protein in the morning at between 400-500kcal (when I make them), it's liquid form but, for me at least, is incredibly sating for up to six hours at a time.
Don't worry, it tastes really good. The taste of the cottage cheese is mitigated by the fruit and it just tastes like a thick smoothie. Get the nonfat variety and find a variety with no added salt if you can.
Also good for people trying to gain muscle who want to preserve muscle mass before bed - but with peanut butter and whey powder instead.
