No really, how fat are you? Anonymous
Very few people on this board claim to be "fat" but instead are a little fat or slim but never FAT.

But every in every topic somebody is accusing someone of being fat.

So, this begs the question of HOW FAT ARE YOU?

Internet lies don't make your reality better.

I know, but the thing is, BMI is shit in the extremes. Huge muscly bodybuilder types have overreported BMIs, and big fatasses have underreported BMIs. I'm not really extreme though, and my BMI still seems off. It kinda makes me wonder who exactly BMI is good for.

I always take BMI with a grain of salt, though. Maybe my definition of "obese" is off. idk.

Measurements are 44/33/44. I have broad shoulders and still have quite a bit of lean muscle from doing archery, running and fencing in school. Might get back into archery...
I still wanna lose a bit of weight to expose the underlying tone though, even though my doc says my weight is fine.

I'm 18, 5' 11" and weigh 215lbs. I did crew during High School and went from my highest weight of 245 to my lowest weight of 195. Since I finished crew and started the post-season I gained a some weight. :/

I'm a little overweight by roughly 15-20 pounds, and am aware that the BMI scale is somewhat broken. My fat is really concentrated around my midsection to which I have a little bit of a gut and some love handles. I have a little fat on my pectorals and on my inner thighs. My arms and legs are pretty damed toned and solid as a result of crew.
Other than that I'm perfectly capable of pretty much anything physical. And when I tense up my chest to flex I can feel that I have a solid core under my fat.

I'd say that I could prolly loose my extra baggage during college if I just watch what I eat, try not to cheat, and continue exercising every singe day, as I have been for the last two months since I left High School.

A guy at 6'0" and 165 lbs can be 18% bodyfat. particularly if you're an ecto who doesn't lift much.

no faggot, it doesn't tell the truth, it tells what it thinks based on studies of a bunch of guys that have gone through the navy

if you're an anomalous body type for the navy, the results will be way off

this is the same reason you shouldn't trust those bodyfat measuring devices that use bioelectrical impedence--they're based off averages of people with known bf%.

I realize that I'm about to rock your world with the fucking facts, but calipers are also compared against tables of data for an average body type, often much more limited sets of body data than the Navy had access to. What is your point, cocksucker?

The navy test has about the same error rate as all caliper tests but the seven point caliper test, which requires data taken from the back. That's not something you should try at home, even though you've probably gotten quite flexible from sucking your own two-inch cock.

Tl;dr: you're an ignorant cunt
>> Anonymous
>>264413
my point is that calipers, bioelectrical impedence, etc., are NOT valid ways to measure bf%

only way is DEXA
>> Anonymous

That is most accurate, but other ways are valid still despite inaccuracy. Some, like bioimpedance from arm-to-arm, are too inaccurate to be valid at all.

i'm fucking tired and disgusted of the way my body feels, and though i'm not really disgusted at the way it looks, i'm ashamed nonetheless. not to mention that it'll probably feel amazing to not be carrying around two other people's weight.

you're not eating enough if you feel like ordering a pizza. i posted my situation like a week ago here, and got a shit ton of great advice. i'll summarize it for you:

http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/
calculate your BMR. multiply it by 1.2 and take away 500~1000. whatever is left is what you should eat a day.

First off:
No juices, sodas (diet and normal), or anything else that's extremely sugary. Coffee and tea is okay, but don't pour the sugar in. Lower it as much as you can, you'll get used to it after a while. Drink lots of water.

Stay away from processed foods and starchy vegetables (white/wheat bread, potatoes, beans, white rice.) Eat whole grain bread, lots of greens, etc. You can allow yourself an egg or two for breakfast during the week occasionally. What I usually do is add in a ton of vegetables (usually an onion and a tomato) and add in two eggs - it makes a lot of food. Eat with a slice of toasted whole grain bread and some tea and it'll hold you over for a long while.

Try to eat 3 small meals with snacks in between. The whole 6 meal thing doesn't really work unless you don't have a job and have nothing to do all day. For snacks eat nuts/fruits (nuts are great, since you can take them to work and don't have to worry about how they get.)

Eat lots of lean proteins, chicken, seafood, etc. If you eat a salad for lunch, add in some chicken (grilled or sauteed in very little oil.) Adding protein to a salad will help you feel full, which is what a lot of people say discourages them from eating salads.

Dinner should be your smallest meal, anything not excessive in carbs (pasta, white rice, mashed potatoes, beans, etc) should be healthy. A piece of meat with some veggies (steamed broccoli/carrots/zucchini? hell, sauteed is good too) and maybe a salad?

And remember, don't keep your calorie count extremely specific. A rough idea is all that you want.
>> Anonymous
>>264666

As for exercise...don't think that you have to run or do extreme weights or shit like that right off the bat. Walking a little faster than you usually do for 20 minutes a day will help you a lot. Eventually you can go faster and faster, but it will take some time.

At 320 lbs, I couldn't jog for more than a minute. Now at 340, after having walked for two weeks, I can do 5~10 minute jogs.

And yes, I suppose this is a lot of advice that you didn't ask for, but I suppose it doesn't hurt to share it.

i started trying to work out at 320, but failed hard because i wanted to start running and i couldn't even do 15 minutes of that. i gave up soon afterwards because my chest would feel like someone was sitting on it, and my thighs and calves would BURN LIKE A MOTHER FUCK.

25 pounds later, i decided i'd go at it slower and in a more appropriate way. everything should be paced. hell, even my diet...i started drinking water as my main liquid way before i started working out. i don't think i could quit soda and work out at the same time, so i dealt with my addiction to coca cola before i got serious about working out.
>> Anonymous
>>264728
but how did you increase in weight?
>> Anonymous
>>264736
it was over the span of four months. i was eating a lot of shit (chipotle everyday, sugary breakfast, heavy dinners with second helpings.)

i kind of thought "oh i'm eating home made food, can't be that bad." but it was. to be honest, i miss the way i felt even 30 pounds ago. i can actually feel my man tits when i'm laying down on my side in bed...it wasn't that bad when i was 310 or so. i can't wait for that to go away, as well as the muffin top. even though it'll be a while before my gut is gone, it'll at least stop hanging over the edge of my jeans in a couple of weeks.
