Sup /fit/, I've been trying to improve my eating habits one small step at a time and was looking for some advice. I make a meal of meat, eggs, and ramen every few days because it tastes great, and is really filling. But I've been thinking that frying both the meat and eggs is probably not the best method of cooking, what are some better ways? Also what could I substitute the ramen for, as I hear it is not very good for you. Or things I could add to it to make it more beneficial.

I used to eat ramen every day (beef was my flavor of choice too). it just has too much sodium :[

I recommend fish/rice/vegetables. or switch fish for chicken. cook with veggies, add some peppers and full speed ahead.

oh and only drink water!

Okay, so what about different ways to cook the stuff? Aside from the olive oil part I mean.

Poach the egg. Drop it in the soup right before you finish cooking and it should be nice and runny by the time you get it to the table.

Frying foods is typically not as good as eating fresh or lightly prepared ingredients. The intense heat from frying destroys many heat sensitive vitamins (some B's, C) as well as introducing extra unnecessary fats and oils. Try using a non-stick pan and some stock or water, or an olive oil for low-temp frying.

Substitute a different type of noodle for ramen, maybe a fresh Hokkien or udon? The amount of salt is too high in dried ramen, which is why it tastes so nice.

For meat/egg/other meals, try making a Spanish omelette by putting the cooked meat and vegetables in the bottom of a pan and pouring a beaten egg mixture over the top. Cook until the base is set, then place under a grill or in an oven until the top is browned. For extra taste, put some grated cheese on the top before the grill/oven. A quiche (a type of egg pie) can be made similarly in advance and lasts for several days. You can make several in small containers and eat them for lunch or as a snack.
