Holy cocksnuggling flying shits, /fit/, I'm feeling motherfucking fantastic, you know why? Because I did some motherfucking weighted squats today for the first time in my life.(have been doing them without weights at home like pistols and etc), even though I was a stupid dumbfuck and wore the tight camo shorts to the gym today, those motherfucking squats ripped the fucking button off jesus raptor christ, and you know what? It felt fucking awesome.
random pic probably unrelated.

When I first did squats I could not walk down the steps straight for 4 days.

Now it heals in a day.

I also did SQUATZ for the first time today (although I hade the good sense to wear loose fitted solid colored shorts), and am currently experiencing this. Going UP is fine, but down is kicking my ass.

after your squats treadmill for 5 minutes. gets all the acid out of your veins and you'll wake up fine the next day.

Yeah going down is always a lot harder because you have gravity going against you as well, but it tears more muscle fibers than going up so it evens out in the end. But you probably already know that.

wat

as in gravity pushing you down, making it harder on your joints, legs, etc.

When I first did squats, I got up off chairs like an old man.

You know, old men gets up off the couch with a "GRAAAAAAAARGH" like God himself was willing him to sit back down.

You're actually going in the same direction as gravity. But you don't want to go in the same direction that fast, so you're generating force to slow you down. To do this certain muscles will elongate because the external force (gravity) is bigger than the intenal force (muscles). This is called eccentric contraction. It's not harder on your joints etc. You're actually stronger when using this type of contraction. It's just that this type of contraction will cause some more damage to your muscles, which can lead to muscle soreness. But this isn't as bad as it sounds, it'll be repaired in a few days.
