Dear /fit/

I've been doing 5x5s for a while with pretty good results, but i want to start cutting some weight (235 right now, about 6' tall). I honestly haven't been paying much attention to what I eat, or how much,I just eat when I feel hungry and that's about it. My question is how much should I eat (calorie wise?) to lose weight while not screwing up my lifting. I have too many friends that just starve themselves and do cardio every day but they are no where near as strong as me and I don't think that way is very healthy.
