Basically you shouldn't try to skip meals and eat really little like 500 calories a day. Your body would think it's not gonna get enough fuel and what happens then is that it'll store as uch calories as possible the next time you have a normal meal- meaning you might think you're shedding shit loads of weight, but your body will pile even more on once you stop, making it worse than before.
Also yes, most of what you shed is water anyway since 70% of your weight is water.
And like what most people concur on here, you;re fucked if your body decides to burn muscle as a fuel source 'cos you're being a cunt and not giving it food.
So just do exercise and eat balanced regular meals.
It's alot like sleeping, having a regular sleeping pattern is much easier on your body than sleeping all over the place. Your body likes routine.
