EFA OILS Anonymous
alright alright, everyone's agreed that these are good, and essential (hehe), but i have a question:

as i understand it, EFA oils need to be kept cold to avoid breaking down, hence why they're kept in fridges at the health food stores.

can /fit/ confirm this?

Suggestions
Take 1 tablespoon two times daily with meals. The cloudy layer in the oil is unique to this blend. To obtain its benefits, shake bottle gently before each use. Do not heat or use for frying. FOR OPTIMUM FRESHNESS KEEP REFRIGERATED. Can be frozen to prolong freshness.

Udo's Choice® Oil Blend is compatible with all foods and can be used with cold, warm and hot foods (once off the heat source), but must not be used for frying, baking or other high temperature cooking.

monounsaturates and especially polyunsaturates are fragile and can break down easily. generally they are broken by heat and light. they have something to do with this shape, i can't find the pic i was looking for to compare exactly these three.

the polys are the most bent, the monos somewhat bent, and saturated is straight. translated as polys most fragile, and saturated as most stable in temperature change. they break at the bend, or something, and turn evil. if you really have to fry, fry with saturated oil, it will withstand the high heat. however be careful not to exceed the recommended daily intake

I really need a better explanation about oil.

It seems so counterintuitive. I'm fat. Why would I want to take in RAW fat?

Because your body breaks down everything you eat before it can be stored as fat in your body. Fats are sugar + extra. Your body breaks it down into regular sugar, then may store it again as fat in your body. The extras can be nutrients your body needs for other processes, or they can be toxics that you don't need, depending on the type of oil.
