You eat 'em dry?

Cook 'em with the milk for five minutes.

I think OP is wondering if he is doing it right (as in if there are drawbacks eating them raw) and not what you think is the most delicious way to eat them.

HAHA sugar does not equal fat. excess calories equal fat. furthermore, the problem with simple sugars compared to complex carbs is that they spike your insulin and provide short supplies of energy. Honey has a lower gi score than table sugar, making it a better sweetener in terms of health. newfag

Cooked oats are in essence predigested, and therefore less taxing on your system, so yes, it's better to cook them.

Also, eat steel-cut oats. Rolled oats are steamed and then flattened with big rollers. That's a lot of processing.

Cooked oats have a lower glycemic index value than uncooked oats. Cooking them releases water-soluble fibers that makes the oats take longer to digest.

Whether or not honey in your OATZ will make you fat is irrelevant, since it makes them taste fucking gross.

That's your opinion. I don't share it. Honey + oats + just a touch of heavy cream = fuckawesome

WHAT ABOUT THE DANGERS OF MICROWAVE COOKING
>> Anonymous
>>478271
Well, since the microwaves will emitt a small amount of radiation I'd say that eating them raw is the best thing to do, since over time that radiation might give you cancer.

Since microwaves are known to emitt slight amounts of radiation I'd say it's best to eat them raw so you won't build up cancer over time.

How will I know if my oats are steel-cut? Will it say on the package?

And are flavored oats much worse due to the sugar content? I had plain and maple sugar oats, and the maple sugar are much more delicious, but have 13g of sugar. Is that enough to make the flavored oats much less preferable, or is it irrelevant?

Also, for my oats I find it best to heat up a cup of milk, then add to my oats and stir until it's well mixed up.

I usually rip a pack apart.
Smash my BROFIST into the oatmeal.
Yell SQUATZFUEL and stuff it into my mouth.

DON'T use sugared ones.
If you can't stand the taste of pure oats (like me) be creative.
Use honey (as suggested), or what I do, put half a spoon of that chocolate milk powder into the oatmeal (you eat them with milk right?)
Tastes like a normal cereal then.

Yeah, I use skim milk with my oats. How much honey should I use? Teaspoon per back?

But with the benefit of having alot less sugar in it.

You still can just mash alot of fruits in it though, sure.

No idea.

As much as you need to bare with the taste, but without going overboard with the honey.
>> Anonymouse
