alright /fit/.
I'm tired of being fat and out of shape. I'm tired of feeling insecure about my weight. I'm tired of second guessing my physical limitations. What diet or exercise regiment should I follow if I am serious about shedding weight and adding muscle mass. I'm willing to put the work in and I'm willing to cut my food intake properly, but I want to make sure that the plan I'm subsrcibing to is solid. And since I'm a total jackass, I'm 24 years old, 250 lbs, 6'3 and I'm ready to get serious about losing weight. Any advice appreciated.

Sean.
Close though, still a nice paddy name.
I've cut most of the junk food out of my diet except for beer and I average about a bag of sun chips a week. Pic related. My father and Solid Snake are my idols for personal fitness. My dad is 54 and cut like a sculpture. I want to at least be able to go toe to toe with him in the gym.

awesome...
the patrick I know is in the midst of utterly turning his life around (just got a job with growth opportunities and personal interest... starting to lose weight... etc.)... but if I recall correctly he can't stand his dad (or maybe it was his mom... idunno)

anyway, good luck

Man that's just sad. If you're that young and you're overweight the fault has to lie with the parents. There's no reason for kids to be overweight if the parents have any sense of responsibility. Then again, the parents are usually overweight as well...

thats not true ive got a friend whos a fat ass and his parents have never let them have junk food at his house. They have been health nuts since he was a baby. hes like 5'9" and 250 lbs of all jiggly fat. he doesnt have coke at his house or anything. in fact he is so desparate for junk food that i sold him a box of cosmic brownies that i bought for like $2.50 for $10 at school because he has to buy junk food at school and take it home to stash it if he wants to eat junk food. and yea its pretty shitty on my part but i needed money to bring my girlfriend out to dinner (our anniversary was coming up and i was trying to get cash anyway possible lol)

cardio is the best

It works your ENTIRE BODY

from head to toe'

Best start with cardio

Basically ride a bike, run, skateboard, roller blade, jumping jacks, Take long wals

Anything that moves you and requires some effort

My prescption is 7 times a week

also take a multi vitamin at the begining of day

so you absorb whay you need, and release what you don't

The greatest feeling you can get in a gym or the most satisfying feeling you can get in the gym is the pump. Let's say you train your biceps, blood is rushing in to your muscles and that's what we call the pump. Your muscles get a really tight feeling like your skin is going to explode any minute and its really tight and its like someone is blowing air into your muscle and it just blows up and it feels different, it feels fantastic. It's as satisfying to me as cumming is, you know, as in having sex with a woman and cumming. So can you believe how much I am in heaven? I am like getting the feeling of cumming in the gym, I'm getting the feeling of cumming at home, I'm getting the feeling of cumming backstage, when I pump up, when I pose out in front of 5000 people I get the same feeling; so I am cumming day and night. Its terrific, right? So I am in heaven.

5x5 compound lifts (squats, deadlift, bench, ect.) are best for gains in a beginner.
If you want to cut some extra fat, do some HIIT (google) on off days if you're up to it.
Make sure after lifting you get some simple sugars (dextrose is best) and some protein your body can use to repair yourself with.

OP here.
/fit/ is pretty damned awesome. After reading this thread, I read a few more and have decided I'm going to give HIIT a try. It sounds brutal, grueling and perfect. I want results and I'm not afraid to work or sacrifice for them. I'll still be lurking here and occassionally asking questions as I get them, but thanks for the info and motivation.
