Did my first HIIT session today, and shit it felt good.

I probably did it all wrong but don't really care for the moment. I did about 4 leg exercises around the gym, squats, calfs etc. then got on a cross trainer and did a 5min warm up, then 30sec burst and 90sec slow, 4 times, then 3min cool down. Sweat so much more than normal, felt pretty good.

discus, advice, puts downs, troll, etc.

>30sec burst and 90sec slow

30 seconds high intensity, 30 seconds low intensity is the correct way to do it.

Yeah but not for a beginner right? The idea is basically just to get exhausted, brief rest, exhausted again, etc. This 30sec that's being thrown around I'm sure is just a guide, not everyone is the same.

anyway, props for getting off your ass and doing it but follow this plan instead

week 1:

monday: 4 x 30 sec jog, 30 sec sprint
wednesday: 4 x 30 sec jog, 30 sec sprint
friday: 5 x 30 sec jog, 30 sec sprint

week 2:

monday: 5 x 30 sec jog, 30 sec sprint
wednesday: 6 x 30 sec jog, 30 sec sprint
friday: 6 x 30 sec jog, 30 sec sprint

you see a pattern emerging here right. im currently on 15 sets after 3 months and it feels good man

I can't run, needs to be on bike or cross trainer, maybe a row machine, would that work?

If you provide a decent reason why you can't run, sure.

That is rare, though. You can run, don't be a fucking pussy.

Also, you should not do cardio that close to training. Do it on separate days or 6 hours after/before.
