I started running (from zero fitness) at the beginning of this October and I find my performance is increasingly bottle necking around joint pain (outside of my feet and ankles). wtf /fit/? I feel less and less fatigued each time I run (1.5 mile loop on a fairly steep hill), but the pain in my ankles keeps me from going farther. What do you do about this - or is it only my problem?Pic likely unrelated.
Get fish oil, change your path, check your shoes and make sure they're appropriate for you, warm up more before tackling the hill, do mobility drills and stretch. Ice ankles after running. Do....one of those.
>>412795ThisAlso, maybe you should try something other than running to take all that stress off your ankles.Thought about swimming? Even cycling might be better.
>>412796x2. Swimming is a godsend on those days where your knees or legs are aching.
>>412801fuck that swimming is a godsend in GENERALi love doing it too, and it's a good whole body workout

>>412804Well, if by full body workout you mean cardio, then yes.If strength, BA HA HA HA NO
>>412869You're the only one who thought they meant strength, troll moar fag.
go to specialist running shop and get a gait analysis. you may be wearing the wrong trainers/running shoes (which is commonly the most likest cause of pain).also make sure you are STRETCHING BEFORE AND AFTER running. During the day when you're at work roll your ankles as often as you can to stretch those musclesDO NOT TAKE PAIN KILLERS BEFORE A RUN!
