Dear /fit/, I have a few questions. What I'm aiming at is heart health/preventing heart disease.

Is eating whole flaxseed a good idea? As in, sprinkling a heavy layer of it on top of a peanut butter sandwich, or mixing a couple spoonfuls in when I prepare canned tuna or a microwave dealie?

There are these light english muffins that have 8g of fiber in them; they're basically white bread with fiber added in artificially. Is the fiber content the important part, or should I just go for 100% whole wheat bread?

Is there anything else that's really important to remember for heart health other than the general exercise, avoid trans/saturated fats, don't overeat in general kind of stuff?

Avoid staying up for long periods of time without even getting a wink of sleep. Shit's rough on the heart, iirc.

Raw flax contains cyanide, although I dunno how much you'd have to eat for it to hurt you. If you're still alive I guess you're probably ok with the amounts you're eating?
