What should I aim to do if I want flexible legs, splits and all?I want to start kickboxing or Muay Thai later on so building up endurance and flexibility in my legs will probably benefit me in the long run.

Just start kickboxing or muay thai. Every school assuming it's not a mcdojo does lots of streching. So you'll cope.
