Hello /fit/.

Tomorrow I plan on starting my workout, however I have a small doubt on where to start. I am 6' tall, weigh 160 pounds but due to years of calorie restrictions and no exercise (I never starved myself, I just stopped supersizing my meals and eating less) I have a high percent bodyfat.

I plan on doing Starting Strength's beginner workout which is Squats, Bench Press and Deadlifts, but I'm not sure if I should do something else instead.

So, help?

6' 160 lbs....
And you say you're fat?
I can't even picture a body like that
I'm 6' 180 and only have a bit of fat on my muscular bum.

WTF DUDE???

I just started a program of full-body workout 3x a week based on what I read on this site:

http://www.exrx.net/Beginning.html

Basically, they claim that beginners should only do 1 set (plus a warm-up set) of every muscle group, every other day, to prevent overtraining. Increase weight next time if you can do 12 or more reps in that set. They even have a nice little excel spreadsheet for you to fill out.

I'm pretty much the same as OP, 6', 165. Skinny looking, but basically just bone and fat.

I can. Skinny fat.

Well I just got back from those scales that measure BodyFat and it stated that Im at around 11% bodyfat. The thing is that most of it is concentrated at my thighs and my belly, the rest is thin.

So I should just start with strength training?

I am very sedentary and only lost weight by eating less. I was 200 lbs around 5 years ago and never worked a single day so I thought I might have high percent of bodyfat.

I'm 5'11" 160 lbs and I've got a lot of flub. I would probably have to go down to about 150 to have decent abdominal definition.
