i'm about to go on a voyage of epic proportions, from 6'1" and <60kgs to 6'1" and >60kgs.
I'm planning on doing this through eating a shitload, running a shitload and lifting heavy things repeatedly.

i have to ask you though, can the aforementioned heavy things be dumbbells? i have no barbell or money to purchase one, but i have a heap of dumbbells positively littering my house.

i know you loev SQUATZ, and i'd be psyched to have them in mah program. is there any way i can SQUAT around my lack of barbells?

tl;dr too poor for barbells, can i use dumbells instead?
also, dumbbell exercises ITT.

I'd say get a barbell to do squats and deadlifts and power cleans with.

You can use dumbells however in the bench press and overhead press... often to greater benefit over a barbell because you have to recruit more muscles to stabalise the load.

Really though, if you can get hold of a good barbell either by buying one or going to a gym (probably cheapest initially) you can train all the lift movements to maximum effect.

dont run dude. when trying to gain weight running is your enemy. be somewhat stationary yet eat alot (make it clean calories not junk, like whole grains, lean meats, etc) & do weights, but nooo running

mah cardio is fucking terrible, and i don't just want to gain weight, i want to gain muscle mass and become fit.
so yeah, i'll stick with the running i guess.

your defeating the purpose of gaining mass if your gunna burn it doing cardio, get the mass then go for cardio but not at the same time it wont work

so i can't build muscle and cardiovascular fitness at the same time?
wat if i run before breakfast, then eat heeeaapps and lift enough to build muscle?

you can run, but make sure you consume more calories; you can improve your cardiovascular endurance and build muscle, but trying to shed fat /and/ lose muscle is not optimal

i meant to say gain muscle

i have no fat.
i am fatless.
i wouldn't mind staying that way at all, i'd just like for there to be a bit more of me.
also, fit.

if you're looking for specific dumbbell exercises this database is pretty good; from these you can create your own workout

if your looking for an actual pre-made workout plan, i guess

You can't gain lean mass without gaining fat too.

I'm going my squats with dumbbells. I wear out my legs a little first doing some lunges and bootstrappers (google it) first, that makes the relatively light squats feel more productive.

Also, you can build cardio by warming up with some intense drills like burpees that will help build some muscle vs. running, but I also understand if you just like to run. Once you get that running zen its pretty good for you mentally.
