Hey /fit/

My girlfriend suffers from anemia. She's out of the country right now and she sent me a message on Sunday last week saying she was going to the hospital for treatment.

From the way she wrote the message it didn't seem too serious. She said if it took a while she was sorry though. I only expected it to last a few days at the most.

Now I don't know much about her anemia or what type it is, other than she sometimes feels faint/weak from it. Does hospital treatment for anemia normally last more than a week?

I've been worried sick about her for the entire week because I haven't been able to communicate with her at all.

But seriously even though I know that could be possible, does anyone know anything about the length of anemia hospital treatment?

Do you ever get seriously ill with it? Like collapsing and unable to really do anything ill?

If it's severe, you can do a blood transfusion, but that shouldn't take a week. An overnight stay at the most.

Ah, a glimmer of hope. She said she would have to do a blood test.

Any idea if maybe the recuperation process takes a while?

I can't recall having met a woman who hasn't been diagnosed as anemic.

You see, every month, they lose an awful lot of blood, and in the process, iron. Thus, they are all anemic.

are you sure she's not a vampire?
