/fit/, I need some muscle on me. I'm following the plan at

http://fitness.scoobysworkshop.com/schedintermediate.htm

and I know that bodybuilding will not show for 5-8 weeks, but I'm wondering if a diet modification will help me gain muscle. I usually eat 2 eggs and ~.3 lbs of meat per day, and I really don't want to resort to supplements/whey.

Age: 19
Height: 6' 2"
Weight: 175 lbs

OP here.

I'm at home for the summer from University, so it's basically whatever gets made for dinner.

Usually chicken or beef.

.3 lbs is only about 5 oz, which if it's chicken only gives you about 40g of protein. An egg gives you about 6 g, so in a whole day you're only getting about 52g of protein.

If you're trying to build muscle, it's recommended to have at least 1 g of protein per lb of bodyweight.

You should be getting around 175 g of protein a day. So, better start chowing down, more meat, more fish, etc...

Also, whey is god. It's not a resort, but a smart choice for an easy, healthy source of protein. A scoop will usually be about 120 calories, and give you 25g of protein. It's also the most readily absorbed source of protein, and does so quickly, making it perfect for PWO food.

BE CAREFUL WITH BEEFS

How far along are you, maybe bump it up to THREE eggs. Right after working out.

OP here.

You say right after working out...

How much loss will there be if I say, eat eggs around 11:00 and work out after 18:00?

If you're only getting around to eating eggs once a day, you should try to get it after your workout.

After exercise, your body is more able to absorb nutrients for about 6 hours afterwards. If you only get one chance for that protein, do it after you lift.

:OP:

Alright.

Since fridge space is limited and I can't really boss my mom into cooking more meat, I guess I'll just have to make a fruit-and-whey shake after my workout.

Any other dieting advice? I'm trying to keep this as natural as possible, so I'd prefer to avoid supplements.

honestly, many supplements are just concentrations of naturally occurring foods. fish oil caps contain ... well fish oil. cla is in grains and protein rich foods. creatine occurs naturally in many foods, just in small amounts.

by avoiding supplements, you are really gonna have to eat a ton of food. 3500-4000 well planned calories, if not higher. believe me, eating 5-6 decent sized meals a day to get this is a lot of work.

What the fuck. I'm 19, 6' 2" and I weigh 160 pounds. Same age and height yet I'm a whole 15 pounds lighter. I work out quite heftily and judging by those pictures my shoulders are massively broader and my chest and arms are considerably larger.

ANON DEMANDS RATIONAL EXPLANATION!

Indeed, my nips are quite hilarious. With my skin-tone, they look like two large piece of salami plastered on my chest.

Should the eggs be boiled or scrambled or what?

I'm guessing boiled, but id like it comfirmed
