Hey /fit/, there are a number of equipment, exercises, routines, and plans I either have or would like to try out, for a number of goals. I'd like you to tell me which I should consider for my goals, and which I should avoid if they're bullshit or whatever. The goals in no particular order include:

Increasing my energy, burning off my fat, increasing muscle strength and appearance, maximizing my growth potential and improving my internal health.

Equipment I currently have: 100lb heavy bad punching bag, weight vest and anklets, jump rope, exercise bike.

Workouts I'd like to try: yoga, Matt Furey Combat Conditioning, Power 90 - 90 Day Workout, that program they used for the actors in 300 I forget the name of.

Other equipment I am either considering or planning to get: a pair of dumbbells with a max of about a hundred pounds weight each, a pull-up bar, and a Bowflex gym.

I know, some of these aren't favored here, which is why I'm asking for your advice and what to try and what to avoid. And no, I'm not one of those "I need to lose ten pounds in a week!" people, I want to mix up these programs, and start an ongoing work-out routine for the rest of my life. I know a couple months of intense exercise, then stopping will not help me.

In before some jackass quotes a portion of the text in this post, and sages it.

THIS.

This is what you need. Also, a copy of Starting Strength.

Read it. LEARN IT. Follow it to the letter.

Arrange all your other training around the Starting Strength barbell workouts and you will be strong and fast as greased shit in no time.

what, computer generated imagery?

Isn't that guy a fraud?

There was a name for it. Cross-training or something. Googling "300 exercise program" or whatever brings up a bunch of different supposed routines claiming to be the one used in the movie to get the actors so buff, but I doubt a lot of them are legit.

One claimed they did exactly 300 reps, every day.

P90x is kickass. I didn't think I'd get results because I thought it was a scam but ended up toning up much more than I thought I would. Granted, I put the weight back on once the school year resumed and I stopped following the program, but in the meantime I was in the best shape of my life since quitting martial arts.

They don't require you to buy that much extra equipment and even include a nutrition plan to go along with it. If you've got the cash, it's definitely worth it.

Very well could be. But he claims his program can get you in shape without any sort of equipment whatsoever, and he's not really in perfect shape in a lot of the images I've seen of him, but it couldn't hurt to try, right?

Also, torrents of the programs are up on Demonoid.

How much would that all likely cost?

>>Granted, I put the weight back on once the school year resumed and I stopped following the program

OP here. This was my main fear with this program.

I figured, if I stuck to it, I'd get the results... but then what? I go through and do it again every few months? It just kind of seems like it leaves you hanging once you're done.

try to get weights for cheap on craigslist, other than that google is your friend I wouldn't know exact prices.

You put the weight back on because you decided to sit on your ass and eat junk food once you reached your goal, the "program" wasnt to blame.

I despise this more than anything else. Someone loses weight, then assumes they can sit on their ass shovelling cake in their mouth and they will stay thin then wonders why they gained weight and blames it on the program.

Fucking hell..
