When you run, where do you keep your water bottle? Do you just hold it? I've impulse-bought one of those belts (Nathan Triangle) and shit sucks.

It bounces all over the place even if you don't fill the bottle, really annoying. So do you just hold yours /fit/?

i hold it in the inner poket of my jacket, but shit still bounces and irritates me very much, but i kinda got used to it.
wanted to buy one of these belts but not a single sport store seems to be selling one...yeah i live in a shithole...

Unless your running a marathon, you don't need a fucking waterbottle

This.

You shouldn't be running if you aren't properly hydrated, and you shouldn't need to rehydrate if you aren't running huge distances/it's extremely hot.

That said, I just use fountains.

I avoided carrying water until my long run was over 7 miles, then I had to drink along the way. You're really supposed to drink constantly, even on shorter runs.

One thing you can do is stash a bottle in the bushes somewhere along your run beforehand, retrieve it, then ditch it later.

I used a camelback for a while, less bouncy, but you get hot, the water gets hot, and they can chafe. Plus they're spendy.

I ended up just carrying a water bottle in hand, which led me to buy a product that straps the bottle to your hand so you don't have to grip it. I converted my roommate to using this once he tried it. It has a pocket useful for stashing food.

The less water you keep in hand the better, and you can use fountains along the way to refill, if you know the route. Also, I used to enjoy throwing my disposable bottles at cars who nearly hit me, obnoxious cyclists, or just at whatever when my run was disappointing.

elaborate your conception of "marathon" and "huge distances"
i run ~20 kms and sure as hell dont mind getting few sips of water twice while i am doing it, drink about 400 ml for whole run tho.

20kms qualifies as huge distance since it's basically a half-marathon. Most people who run (and who aren't competing athletes) do a 5km course or less, as I'm sure you know.

no i didnt knew that. dude i am posting at 4chan, i dont interact with people that much to figure what "huge distance" means for them. for me huge distances were like the ones that are more than a marathon
