Alright /fit/. Simple question.

I recently joined the gym in order to lose some weight (mainly my beer belly ;_;, 190-200lbs, 6"3) and have solely been using the bike machines, doing about 400calories in 50minutes, 5 times a week.

Is there any simpler way to burn more calories (i.e. just switching to cross trainer etc). I dont want to bother switching machines all the time as its a busy gym and I prefer to just claim a machine use it till I'm done.

So would say, alternating between cross-trainer / bike machine / rowing machine each day produce better results?

eat 6 small meals throughout the day. push yourself harder while on the bike to do maybe 700 calories. and get proper rest.

Go run on an elliptical for an hour.

Do a different machine each day, if you find 3 you like rotate them, one a day. If you keep doing the same thing over and over without altering it somewhat you're gonna get bored.

HIIT on an elliptical for 15 min 2-3x a week

When you strengthen your lungs/heart/legs enough to where you can easily do it for 15 min, change to the treadmill.

Once that gets easy, do the same outside.

stationary bike < eliptical < treadmil < running outside

just work your way up. HIIT will get you the best results in the shortest amount of time. Just be smart about it and you will be very happy with the results.

No need to go to a gym OP. Buy a cheap Wal-mart bike for like 70 bucks, and just ride around and enjoy the scenery. Also a tip, try to stay in only one or two gear settings.

Or just run.

I lost most of my excess fat by doing those things.
