Hey, I hear a lot of controversy about eating before bed. Now, I usually eat 3000 calories per day, and about 1/3 of them are consumed at night before bed. I eat a big breakfast at 10:00am (1000cals), then I eat 500-1000 cals before work at 3:00, then I have a couple small snacks at work, but I have the rest of them when I get home (10:00pm) and sleep at 11.

So, I heard i'll get fat and shit from this, but I also heard that the before-bed meal is important so you don't get catabolic.

i have observed that eating before bed gives me a stomach ache. however, people say not to eat before bed because your body will finnish digesting, and then you will be sleeping so you won't burn any of the calroies that you just ate. Also, food strengthens your brain, and if you're sleeping it doesn't really matter, but that's a matter of opinion. Mostly, I just hear not to eat before bed because you'll get fat that way. I guess it depends what you're eating. Hope this helps.

I don't know what to believe. I usually get the munchies around 10 or 11 and i snack on whatever. I go to bed at midnight or 1.

it's strange, but the nights I get really high and chow down before bed (i still only eat healthy, but still chowing down is chowing down) I wake up and think to myself 'fuck i'm going to regret that' but I look in the mirror and my stomach actually feels flatter than the day before. Then I take a huge shit and I'm off to start my day.

I just don't worry about it. as long as you still watch your calories and don't eat anything unhealthy i don't think it really matters when you eat it.

but you might get a tummy ache

Cottage cheese is good to eat about an hour before bed, it contains casein, a slow digesting protein which continues to digest for up to 7 hours after consumption, allowing your body to process it while you are sleeping and providing the valuable proteins needed to help build your muscles. I always eat about 100g before bed after a weights day.

Shame it tastes like shit, try flavouring with some honey and eating it with ryvita to combat the awful texture.
