Hi /fit/,

I ask your opinion about how long (weeks/months) will it take for me to loose about 15-20 lbs.

I am currently about 190 lbs, not obese but a little chubby. I run about 4 miles per day, 4-5 times a week. I run till I sweat and till it hurts. Also lift some weights after that for about 30 minutes. I eat one hot meal (rice and chicken or peasoup for example)per day, not much else. Just some oat meal or something in the morning but not every day. I dont drink sodas anymore, only orange juice and mineral water. My only weakness is sweets, I still eat them on a daily basis, not much though anymore but still about 100 grams a day.

I know it depends on the person but in average, how long would it take?
And what should I do to increase the weight loss, except leave the sweets of course.

Picure NOT related.

Eat breakfast. Eat more often. Quit drinking orange juice; it's only marginally better than soda.

Increase the amount you eat to something fucking normal. That or start taking heroin.

Severely limiting your calorie intake doesn't do you any favors. In fact, it kills your metabolism which is necessary for adequate weight loss.

I hit a plateau when I was at around 265 lbs. I had been severely limiting my calorie intake till then. I started eating 6 meals per day and my metabolism seems to have recovered and am now at around 245 in about 10 weeks.

Actually, most orange juice is much more calorie dense than HFCS sweetened coke. I mean, it has vitamin C, but that's about it. In north america, it's almost fucking impossible not to get enough vitamin C in a day.

So drop the OJ, shitsucks.

OP here:

So, more meals per day including breakfast, let the OJ go along the sweets? I wonder what should I replace OJ with? I cant drink just mineral water, too much is too much.
Was surprised to know OJ isnt that good.

Is it true that grapefruits help too?

it's not OJ itself. It is the amount of OJ that is available in an average package. People tend to drink more of this juice than they would if they only had normal oranges. OJ has high amounts of histamine and if you are sensible, it causes strange reactions in your body, including unusual fat growing.

There is your problem, moron. Start changing diet habits.

Taste sensitization. Learn to appreciate the soft and subtle tastes of real food. Quit expecting your food to taste like heaven all the time. Food doesn't owe you wonderful tastes, but you owe your body food it can actually use.

I'd say about 1-2 months OP.

I started at 188 about 2 weeks ago, changed up my diet (from multiple sodas a day, fast food, etc, to all water and healthier food), started doing a lot of cardio and some weighlifting (20-30 mins of HIIT 5 times a week), and I'm already at 178. Granted, a good chunk may have been water weight but I can't imagine it'll take me more than 6 weeks to lose another 10 if I stick to my cardio.

Oh, and don't weightlift after cardio, you've already burned your glycogen stores. Do the cardio in the morning to get your metabolism up, and the weighlifting later in the evening after having eaten a lot of protein. Alternately, do cardio after weightlifting, though you won't get the increased metabolism if you go to sleep soon after.

OP here, thanks for the tips everyone, with those I think I'll loose 20-30 lbs in couple of months and start a new life then. Going away from 4chan for the weekend. Have a nice weekend everyone and see you next week!
