Dear /fit/, I've run into a bit of a problem and I was wondering if you could help me out.

I recently took a 2 week break from exercising because frankly, I was dead broke, desperately job hunting, and I didn't have the time, food, or energy to do it. I know it's excuses, but when you can't the essentials, you need to conserve energy.

Now I have a job, I make good money but I have to get up at 6-7 am every morning--my old job was basically 4 pm to 2 am, so I'm finding myself just exhausted by 6 pm or so. I've also completely lost my appetite--I'll eat lunch and then not feel hunger pangs or anything.

What the fuck do I do to get my energy back, and to increase my appetite again? I can't muster up the energy to work out, and even if I could, I can't seem to get hungry like I used too.

Halp.

Eat breakfast , most important meal of day, you'll have much more energy. Also take a multivitamin. Look up some pre-workout drinks such as NO-Explode by BSN or SuperPump. Within 20-30mins after drinking it you'll be flowing with energy. Good Luck

I work as a cook at a breakfast resteraunt, so I do eat it.

Just. . . doesn't help the tiredness or appetite. I get there at 7:30, grab some food. Get out around 2:30, walk 2 miles home, eat something. And then nothing. Tired and not hungry.

dude, i feel your pain. up @ 0530 work @ 0700-1900 then i haev to find the drive to get my ass to the gym for an hour and a half. for me my energy levels dip after lunch until about 1700 then i have a couple cups of coffee (and i also keep my preworkout drinks on hand) and mentally prepare myself for what i have to do. it's important to remember that regardless of what's going on if you can't get your mind right it's all a waste of time. no one will do it for you. if it were easy everyone would do it.
also, you'll have to force feed yourself to get your body into a eating rhythm and after a couple weeks of this you'll find that you'll actually be hungry at those times, with the meals and mindset the energy will come.

This was primarily what I was wondering. I wanted to know if it was just my circadian rythmn evening out, or if I just had to force my body into a routine to make it work at those times.

force yourself to drink at least 2 or 3 cups water in the morning and eat a good meal. drink water 20 min prior will help make hungrier.

use bright lights on your face and body to wake you up. use dark room to sleep in.

don't fucking skip on breakfast because you don't have time to make shit. you're doing this do it all the way or not at all. you're most rested when you wake up.

body needs constant fuel. every 1.5 -2-3 hrs supply it. 5-6 snacks/meals per day. a banana + peanut butter [carb and prtn]. grape and yogurt [carb and prtn again]. etc.
