You never just feel 'burnt out'?
>> Anonymous
A variation of different things. A big motivational tool for myself was getting fired and having to ration out my food - lost a decent 20 lbs from not going out and eating crap food.

For guys, it really helps to actually focus on the negative, as we improve better that way. Girls focus better on thinking of the positive stuff.

So - if you're a guy, it helps to think that you are a fat ass and you are NOT helping yourself scrunching on that last doughnut you fat fuck. No girl is EVER going to like a pig that can't even lift decent weights. Imagine if you couldn't carry your wife to your room on your wedding night because your arms get tired - what a fucking loser. She won't enjoy sex with you because you lose your breath 3 minutes in, and you can't even hold her up by yourself. Start lifting those weights, get on a fucking schedule and stop eating crap food, you already know this! There's no point to rub it in, you already know what you're doing wrong. Fix it, and GET GOING.

For girls - you will not believe how many new "guy" friends you will get once you start working out, I promise! Once you start improving yourself, people will comment on it to others first, then you, so don't get let down if you aren't getting getting compliments immediately, it takes dedication. However, once a cute guy knows that you are taking steps to improve yourself, no matter how far away your goal is, he finds that incredibly sexy because you are taking care of yourself. Just keeping working on it, and you will achieve your goals in no time! Don't worry about the foods you've eaten in the past, or even yesterday, today is the start of a new day! Get out there and do your best, you will see results very soon.

I look at pictures of fit girls. They're fucking hot and there's something about not letting a girl best you in fitness that's very motivating.

Continuation:

I've heard of both girls and guys going out and buying out their "perfect outfit" and not stopping at their goals until they can fit into it.

Guys are known to use mirrors, in which there is a mirror placed in a lot of locations around the house, particularly near places where you let yourself go - in front of the tv, on the fridge, by the computer, etc in an effort to realize that they should be working out at the gym instead.

There are also side benefits to working out - even just cardio. There is a slight euphoric feeling after working out, which many people learn to focus on and crave(don't go overboard).

I myself have different things in which I would not carry more than 3 dollars in my wallet when I am out, as I'm prone to buy crappy food from fast food places if I have more money(3 bucks won't buy you much these days).

I've also used the mirror trick, not thinking when going to the grocery store and just buying exactly what I wrote down before(so I don't buy nasty food). I also make it a habit to stay off the computer at night, which then allows me to either sit at home and do nothing or go to the gym.

It's all about changing your environment to make it more suitable to get you to work out, and less suitable to go back to your early days of being disgusting.

Hope this helps.

yes, this is good - as long as guys can look at it as competitive type of stuff. it's best not to do this if you tend to get depressed that you will never be with that kind of girl and go into apathy because of it.

one other quick tidbit - if you happen to get more motivation from the positive stuff than the negative or vise versa - you're not gay or weird. You are just doing what works. In that case, do what works. Don't fuck up something mid-cycle.

Nope. Occasionally I'll falter when I'm waiting for soreness to set in and remind me how hard I work, and occasionally I miss a day because I just can't get going. But overall, I spend my time wishing I could work out right now.

I know that when I don't work out I feel like shit. I feel like im quiting on myself and that keeps me going.
Once you get past that point where it becomes harder and harder to get that Sore feeling after a workout you crave that sore feeling much more.
I've strained my back pretty bad trying to do to much weight just to get that sore feeling back.

I just feel like shit if my muscles ISN'T sore from a workout.
