Soreness -- how long? Anonymous
Hey everybody. I try to train my muscles to failure, and while I do get good pumps, I'm often not sore the next day. I tried a new high intensity approach to training calves last Wednesday; here it is Sunday night and they're still sore to the touch! So did I overwork them, or am I underworking everything else?

Larry Scott pic related as inspiration. Look at those beautiful, full muscles. Striations and cuts are more about dehydrating and de-fatting yourself to the point of near-death than they are about being strong, healthy and able.

I think if you're sore for THAT long you might've hurt something. Keep in mind soreness should not be the primary means of deciding if you worked hard enough or not.

i usually go by whether or not the whole muscle is sore

if the whole limb or muscle group is sore, but i can feel the happiness of endorphins, then i know its just cause i overworked a little

if its only certain part of the muscle, or something else entirely, then i know its bad

but, this is all coming from someone who is largely sedentary, im not even sure why im in this board

If you're not sore for a week after doing legs for the first time, than you're doing something wrong!

upper body, you should only be sore for like 2 days

I never never get sore i got sore the first time i worked out and I haven't been sore once since then.....I don't know if its because i had my gaul bladder out and it was so painful when it was in so i'm desensitized to pain some or what......but never ever get sore no matter how hard i work
