Sup, /fit/

I've had it with being a fucking fatass slob (pic related, me on the left, just over 300 lbs), so I've started cleaning up my fucking act. My question regards my running regiment.

I remember hearing vaugely that there is a best time to go out and run to get the maximum effect, is this true? So far I've been doing it just before I eat lunch. Is there a better time to do it?

tl;dr when do I run?

Oh, also, yes, I'm on the left in black, but I'm not as short as the picture might make you think.

I'm 6'2", the guy on the right is a fucking mutant.

Don't run. You run the risk of fucking up your knees. Start out jumping rope, long walks, etc.

fair enough

>jumping rope
how many reps/sets?

>long walks
about how long? I've been running about a mile

>about how long

I'll say 30 minutes.

If you're running and you don't feel any knee pain then go ahead. Just don't do it if you start to feel a lot of pain in your knees.

I think when you're over 300 lbs what's more important is having the discipline to stick to it, more than voodoo science in some men's magazine article about what time of day is best. Just keep on your program, push yourself, and you'll drop the weight.

Yeah, that's taken care of.

Basic train of thought is:

Priority 1 is running at all. Priority 2 is finding the optimal conditions.

not OP here but i got a question of my own. atm I'm 6 foot and i weight 198 pounds and i run like 20-25 minutes a day and i do around 40-60 push ups.

Is this enough to make me loose some weight?

It depends on what you're eating, obviously.
