i don't know if that's the best plan... going on 1 or 2 day fasts in the condition your body is in isn't very intelligent, to say the least, and it definitely won't help you. eat small meals, about 5-6 each day. you can get flax seed at health food stores now, so look up one in your area and expect to pay a little more buck for a way more bang. see what the guy at the health food store recommends you do, eating-wise. stay away from enriched or white flour, soda pop, simple carbohydrates, and just fast food in general.
eating 5-6 meals a day will help your body have a constant metabolism, helping you to not retain the calories you intake, and burning off all the calories you have stored as fat.
and if you can't even handle running right now, just try walking. it'll be less work on your joints. or if you go to a gym, try the elliptical bike, that thing's pretty fun. it's not actually a bike, it's more like...a treadmill/skiing thing...
anyhow, if you have a hy-vee nearby, they have a nutritionist you can talk to as well as a health food section. i'd go there next.
