it's not really post workout, it's more like hour-2hours after the workout. i wake up at 6 workout 630-8(usually don't go till 8 unless it's a long run/row/bike day)eat breakfast at 9ish
Muscles need proteins to recover from the microtears they received when you lifted weights. Therefore you should take a shake after your workout.However if you need to increase your protein intake you can aswell take one before.If you only take a shake a day post workout. 2 shakes a day you can go pre and post workout.

i tried eating something before, tried supplements, drinks (black powder, accelerade, other nitric oxide bullshit), i just throw them all up within 15 minutes because i train too hard or my body can't handle it, water works fine

i've waited 30 minutes to an hour and even then it didn't stop it. any more time and i'll have to wake up at 5am which isn't too keen since i go to sleep at around 9pm. I need at least 9-10 hours of sleep.
