Fucked up menstrual cycle Anonymous
/fit/,

I have irregular periods. I've had them ever since I started menstruating at 12. It's been 3 months since my last period. And when my periods do come they come in floods, so much that when I come out from the shower I need to hold a piece of tissue between my legs so I can dry off without it spilling all over the floor. It also lasts for an unusual long time of 2 weeks. Sometimes, I get these black blood clots with trace amounts of blood.

WTF is wrong with me /fit/!? Am I not producing enough female hormones or something? I've tried a herbal doctor once and all he did was give me these small sugar balls coated with flower pollen to regulate my cycle. It worked for a while but then it went haywire again! Help /fit/!

It's called wearing a tampon you stupid piece of shit. Also, as you go through puberty your menstruation is irregular at all times. When puberty is over, it should get back to normal.
>> Anonymous
Here is the answer!!!
GO TO THE DOCTOR. and not some herbal doctor.
>> Anonymous

I'm 18, puberty was over long ago.

And how does wearing a tampon help?

Seeing as I am a doctor who browses fit, I think you could use a prescription of:
See a doctor in real life and don't explain your vague problems which could be caused by a fuckton of reasons to a bunch of anons over the internet.

I dont think so. It's just really uncomfortable.

You shouldn't be able to feel it once it's inside. If you can feel it, chances are you put it in wrong. Or maybe you have a screwy vagina.

Get a pad than.

Take birth control pills.

They're supposed to regulate your period a bit.

SUPPOSED TO.

Ever tried doing more exercise? It's always the fat and lazy bitches that get lengthy and heavy periods. Me? I'm fit as fuck, I only have mine for 5 days at most and its not that bad.

This combined with your weird periods makes you some sort of freak of nature; tampons are way more comfortable than pads for normal women

b. my wife is the same, very irregular, doc said its normal, periods dont have standards. even right now we thought we was preggo cause no period for almost a month now, test say's negative, now we wait.

You have an irregular period. Something like 1/3 of women under 30 have them. It may be caused by PCOS (are your cramps can't-get-out-of-bed painful? do you have bad skin no matter which product you use? do you have trouble losing weight? if yes, you might have PCOS), or it might be caused by just being young. Lots of women have irregular periods for years after they first get them.

Like someone else said, birth control is your best bet. It will help regulate your cycle, making it more predictable, lighter, and less painful. BC may also help clear your skin, and increase the size of your boobs.

Holy fucking shit! How i love being a MAN.

ARGH. GO SEE A REAL DOCTOR. NOW!

This is a SYMPTOM, you need to find out WHAT it is a symptom of! It can be a matter of life and death. Just because you've survived well this far doesn't mean it can't take decades off your life span.

I once had sex with my girlfriend during her period. We used a condom so it was ok, right? RIGHT? But the condom broke, and later when I went to take a piss I found all sorts of crap under my skin.

Never had sex since.
>> Anonymous
Could be PCOS. You on the pill? That can level out periods and reduce flow.

start taking birth control pills

First go to a doctor. You'll probably get some birth control pills which will regulate your hormones and after a few months your menstrual cycle should go back to normal. GL.

I have irregular cycles too, once every 3-4 months usually. But they are usually pretty light and painless. I might have a little nausea and fell "off", but that's it.

Back in my teens when my periods were "normal", I could bleed through an overnight pad in under 1 hour on a bad day. I couldn't eat as I vomited everything back up and sleeping was near impossible. There was no pattern to the bleeding. One hour its nothing on the pad, the next hour it would be all over my panties. This lasted for 7-9 days. And sadly as a teen my mom thought I was "overreacting" to my womanhood.

medical student (almost doctor >.<) reporting in:
lemme see my textbook...
Kinda looks like a symptom of Hyperestrogenemia - long period, menstruation lasts more then 7 days, lots of blood loss during period. (if you also have dry skin, big breasts, painless period - this is it)

But... it could be a tumor :) it also causes a large amount of menstual blood - also it doesn't usually prolong the actual period it self.

What else can cause this... you got any chronic deseases? Like diabetus...
>> Anonymous
protip: you gave it away with the two week bullshit. this is impossible. 0/10.

>>461035
The pic isn't mine. I dont have my period right now so cant really take a picture. I just googled it and no, real period blood does not look like that. It looks like this.

>>460684
I do at least half an hour of yoga a day and some crunches if I'm not too lazy. I may not be as fit as you but I do some exercise and I have chubby friends with relatively normal menstrual cycles. Were you a whale in the past? Because you seem to really hate fat people.

>>461163
I have dry almost scaly skin, but not on my face. As for breasts I dunno. They're big in asian standards I guess. But I dont think I can compare to any westerners.

>>461177
Heavy flow for the 1st week, mild for the next 3-4 days and then traces for the rest. I'm dead serious, this happens.
>> Lekar'
>>461197
really does look like hyperestrogenemia...
now lesse what could have caused that...

Okey it is possible that you might have a period without ovulation (where your ovary egg doesn't leave the ovaries).

Have you ever tried to have babies and couldn't get pregnant?

Arr... this shit really is complicated, i really advise you to go to doctor, since there is just too many factors...

no.

I'm getting a full physical in a month. As I'm moving to Aus. But, they don't cover this right? Do I need to visit a gynecologist or let the full physical cover it?
>> Anonymous
I thought tampons were really uncomfortable before too. Then I discovered that you have to push them in really really deep, basically until it stops. The process is a little uncomfortable, but once it's in you shouldn't have any problems.
>> Anonymous
Also: Go on the pill. Regulates cycles
>> Lekar'
>>461238
gynecologist - cause you need to take some really specific tests for hormones

about them tampoons = i would advise you to stay away from those... they say Genycologist Approven = that is bullshit (they all agree that tampoons are bad for women's health)

In some rare cases tampoons can cause instant death (very rarely)
More usually your body suffers from resorbtion of your own blood, since the tampoon blocks the flow of the blood.
>> Anonymous
>>461297
lol wut. you can get toxic shock but instant death, come on.
Just push the tampon up ur vag with index finger until your finger can't go in anymore.

Does anyone else quite enjoy taking tampons out, or is that just me?

a friend of mine had the same problem and they eventually figured out that it was actually a thyroid problem. Maybe go see a general practitioner and suggest this. sometimes doctors don't think of everything.
