So how good are wushu forms as a training? Wushu needs both explosive strength and smooth softness in its movements, would it be good for muscle training, or fat-loss?

Pretty much any martial art will give you the same results.

My favorites are Wushu, Muay Thai(forms), and Capoeira for whole body fitness.

Do Taekwondo so you can do this.

Wushu will kill your joints. It is just Chinese acrobatics. You might as well take proper gymnastics. Wushu is the Chinese equivalent of stage fencing and fighting in the west.
