How much people actually work out? sasuke
I'm curious to how much people in percentage from the total population currently train in a gym.

Also, % of people who work out no matter the place (home, gym..), a physical labor doesn't count because that's not what i'm thinking about.

statistics from different countries would be nice, im no american but i gues usaeins stats are different from european

I'd guesstimate 5-10% max, considering so many fuckers are statistically getting fatter every year, and looking at people passing on the streets.

According to your GIF Colorado is the place to live since is almost always had the least percentage of obesity in it.

Although, it's probably also part natural selection since the fat fucks can barely move in the thinner air.

so is this trend a function of the increasingly sedentary lifestyle we're leading now as amerekkaana, or is it a combination of factors, both genetic predeliction and dietary?

it's eating too much shit. In no other age have humans have so much access to so much foods. In the last 30 years the reigns have been let loose for farmers to grow as much crap as they want in America. the government subsidizes their crap corn, there's always crap corn surpluses, and crap corn feed and then feeds and makes crap cattle. in the cattle is crap subsidized. And then there's corn sugar, known as HFCS, readily available in many many drinks and candies and shit. And it's the god damn cheapest source of any kind of energy available, I can get donuts and candy bars for less than 1$ anywhere. Anywhere. dirty food is the easiest to get in the world, nothing else is. And that crap can sit on the shelf forever, a year. Real food doesn't last a year on the shelf.

tl;dr Too much shit.

I think that as the social and economic divide continues to increase throughout America, we'll be entering a second gilded age with a huge disparity between upper and lower classes. As well, the middle class will continue to shrink as more people are unable to get jobs to pay for their $50K+ college educations and will wind up falling into deep debt just trying to keep afloat.

Unfortunately, the first thing many people try to skimp on is their health when they are in trouble financially. They'll do this in the form of going to the doctor less, eating more processed food (because it's cheaper), and exercising less because they are trying to "make ends meet."

It's scary, but I can see America turning into a completely polarized country within the next 30-50 years if there isn't some sort of change or revolution.

It's because food that is horrible for you is cheap and easily accessible, and shit like HFCS is in everything. The average consumer isn't going to understand what's wrong with that, and the average Americans I know are concerned most with trying to save money, so they buy shit food instead of more expensive, healthier options.

I'm in the middle of my healthy BMI and try to work out some, but the cost of food prevents me from working out all the time for fear of being anorexic.

what do you mean? eating at mcdonalds costs way more than making your own food, like beans, sandwiches...

I think the problem is that newer generations don't know how to cook because they weren't ever taught by their parents, because they aren't motivated to learn to cook healthy food, and because those that do know how are either too lazy to cook or too obsessed with OMG YUM HAMBURGER FUCK YES.

That being said, it's somewhat difficult as well to cook healthily.

beans and sandwiches? Is that all the healthy stuff you can think of to eat? two organic lamb patties cost me seven dollars. you know, without added hormones (that's bad btw), no pesticides (that stuff kills small things it can't be that good for you). And I still have to bake it. a nice entire chicken, 15-18$. still have to bake that. a whole salmon 20-30$. don't kid yourself. real healthy healthy food costs typically 10 to 40% more than similar conventionally produced products.[wiki]

you're comparing one crap food to another crap food. It's not a fair comparison. In degrees it's less but still. beans are cool but I see you're struggling.

all of our grandparents and all of their ancestors always ate organic before fifty years ago. without any shit added.
