Sleep Schedules Captain Fantastic
Hey guys.

Right now my sleeping schedule is pretty bad. I go to bed at 6 in the morning, and wake up at 4 in the afternoon.

How do I change this?
>> Captain Fantastic
I forgot to mention, I'm lazy and it's hard for me to wake up early.

wake up early, exercise a lot, only sleep eight hours a night.

Stop masturbating till 6 in the morning. Or if you have to, masturbate progressively later each night (or morning) until you're going to bed at a decent hour. You don't really need more than 8 hours of sleep unless you're working really, really hard either.

>hard for me to wake up early
>wake up early

I lol'ed

Also try taking some sleeping pills around 6 PM (just the ones that aren't for long term) or take some energy ones around 6 AM or something to stay up till a normal time

that's very drastic and sudden though, you may want to ease into a cycle rather than force a switch

I tend to stay up too late, and can't get up in the morning. A common problem, but could having dinner around 8-9pm have something to do with it?

Can fapping patterns dictate sleeping patterns too?

Why is your sleeping schedule "bad"? Go find a 3rd shift job somewhere and it won't matter.

That being said...as a person who has to change sleeping schedules often for work purposes I'd suggest stepping your schedule towards what you want. Wake up at 2pm, and go to bed at 4am, and continue on until you've rotated towards something that works. If you can't sleep lay in bed anyway and make sure you wake up at the right time. Eventually you should get tired enough to sleep when you get into bed.

More drastically you could do a "crash fix" which pretty much means forcing yourself to stay up so long that you WILL fall asleep at the correct time. This works okay if your not set it a very specific pattern...otherwise you'll prob. just sleep until your normal wake-up time.

Learn to get up ALWAYS when your alarm goes off. This is mostly a matter of willpower.

ALWAYS get up at the same time every day. Pick something early but reasonable.
Go to bed when you are tired.

I don't care if you're going to bed at 6am and your set wake up time is 730, wakeup, and take a short nap in the afternoon (<1.5 hours).

Eventually you'll settle on a decent sleep schedule.

yeah im a hardcore gamer in summer like wake up @ 4 or 5 in afternoon. the way i change this is to just stay up rater than to try to go to bed when my body doesn't want to if adjust just stay up more than 24 hours then goto bed 12 hours b4 the time u want to get up ( 8 for normal sleep + 4 for the fact your body needs to make up sleep)
not the healthiest thing but it works for me.

What I found for myselfe, if I don't have to get up my sleeping habits level out at going to bed at arround 4AM and getting up at noon. Funny to see other people also tend to something like that. I wonder if there are reasons for that.
Also, I'm not really happy with that, but I haven't found a way to constantly get up at early times. If I really have to get up for important reasons I can manage it somehow. But if I just want to get up to do things I set up for myself, as soon as I hear the alarm I turn it off and go on sleeping =/ How do I get that much willpower to overcome that?

I've already got two jobs and I go to school.

I've tried the crash fix, worked for two days, but i just can't put myself to sleep.

Get a job.

I go to sleep at around 11-12 PM and wake up at 7:35 AM. On weekdays, I sleep at around 2:00 AM and wake up at 11:00 AM. Sleeping in feels good, but you feel shitty for losing a lot of valuable hours when you wake up.

Good answer, that would be one way. Though for me it won't be the solution, since I work at home. Most time it really doen't matter what time I get up. But as I said, I feel bad though for having such a sleep habit. If anyone got some experience to gain that kind of willpower would be nice if you could share them. Thx~

>At 10pm you decide it would be a good idea to get up at 5am. But at 5am you decide it would be a better idea to get up at 8am.

Haha, thats just like me.

>On those rare occasions where I did get up early, I noticed that my productivity was almost always higher, not just in the morning but all throughout the day. And I also noticed a significant feeling of well-being.

taking a natural melatonin capsule can reset your sleep cycle in a night or two. it naturally occurs in your head to make you sleepy. it's just like having some more of it is all. it's inexpensive like under 8$ for a bottle of like 60. you can find it any good supplement store. now, natural factors, new roots are all good brands. i say avoid others, because my nutritionist didn't recommend any others.

i used it myself. works. says on bottle don't use after 9 weeks.

help your body sleep in the best environment possible. cover all light sources, especially damned blinking LEDs, completely. using black tape (or garbage bags?). you should sleep in a "cave". even a tiny amount of light can keep you awake, and studies flat out show light is detected by cells all over your body, not just your eyes.

also, don't eat a "heavy" meal close to sleep. meats take hours to digest, like a cheeseburger can take 8 hours, so go light late: fruits and water only take 1-2 hours, they're good at the end. eat like a king at breakfast, eat like your homeless at night.

On the weekends I go to bed around 6am and wake up at 3pm. Maybe.

Weekdays it's usually 1am and 6am.

I know it's healthier to sleep longer, but dammit, I want more time in my day.

Hey guys.

I'm definitely trying a polyphasic cycle. In a few months though. I never thought I'd say this, but I might go vegetarian for it. Possibly.

From the same blog as the waking up technique. Working on that as well.

This is going to be great. Possibly epic for me.
