In 2005, my left lung fully collapsed twice (spontaneous pneumothorax of the left lung). The first time it happened was after playing intramural waterpolo at Uni, and the 2nd time about 2 months later while I was sleeping. I had a chest tube each time, and two months after the 2nd pneumo I had surgery (left endoscopic bullectomy and pleural abrasion) to correct it permanently. It is now 2008, 3 years later, and I still have a slight lingering tightness in my left lung when I inhale fully. Also, I have had the same uncomfortable sensation of a pneumo of pain in my *other* lung, but no doctor has been able to identify a pneumo on an x-ray in the right each time, as it has been too small, and healed up on its own.FYI, I am 6'2", M, 165 lbs. non-smoker, former competitive swimmer of 10+ years and runner.Have any of you /fit/ guys have had pneumothoraxes? And if so how long ago, and how are you doing now?
