i have to run a timed mile tomorrow morning. what are some little things i can do to prepare for this? also, can i get some general running tips? like breathing technique and stuff.

in b4 8 hours of sleep and a good breakfast. pic unrelated.

The mistake you're making is that you believe the picture is unrelated.

Get proper shoes that are not too tight, tie them lightly to allow blood to flow freely.
Breath from the nose most of the time.
Avoid running on concrete/sidewalks as much as you can, find a park with trails or football fields
Technique to running is that not to slouch forward. keep the back straight. don't take short strides but do the full range of motion.

If you don't run regularly, you'll need to be sure to pace yourself so that you don't gas out too early. It's better to have some energy left, and really be able to haul the last quarter mile than it is to just be completely dead, and have a quarter mile left to go.
Also, depending on how long you have between waking up and running, you may want to eat. Other than that, just be sure to stretch, and hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.
