Are my squats weak? Anonymous
Hey /fit/;
Let me preface this by saying I have never played a sport, and up until this summer I had never seriously worked out.

I'm 5'9-5'10 (I forget) and around 160-165.
Today I squatted 3 sets of 5 reps @ 180 (I was proud when I hit body weight...). However, about 10 minutes later, I did 2x5 of 270 on the Leg Press, and I feel like I could go for 300 next time. Is this a normal ratio? My form on squats isn't exactly great, but i'm getting better than I was when I started.

Yeah, your leg press should be WAY higher than your squat. There is no real relation otherwise.

I squat about 280 and leg press over 700 lbs... so yeah...

I've met people that are strong squatters and poor leg pressers too. It has to do with running and training that usually comes from field sports (rugby, soccer, football).
