Disabled veteran here. (Mortons Neuroma, left foot. Plantar fasciitis right foot. Patellofemoral joint syndrome, both knees. Degenerative joint disease, lumbar spine)

Since my injuries forced me out of service I've battled depression and weight gain. I've decided to stop being a pussy and get back into shape and start enjoying myself again. I'm limited by my above conditions and have a phobic fear of swimming. Anyone in kinesology have recommendations for a good workout plan, particularly cardio to get me back on the road to happiness?

No legs? Try one of those hand-bike things, don't remember the name, good upper body cardio.

You might want to try stationary cycling to see if your knees can tolerate it. If so, keep it going for a month or two. If you feel like it's getting boring and want to try something else, you can graduate to spinning. Chicks mostly do it, but it's a BITCH to do.

Find a place to take adult lessons/private lessons for swimming. I've been a lifeguard/swimming instructor for nearly 6 years and have taught a large number of adults who came to the class petrified of water and left 9-12 weeks later (depending on the session length) with at least a bit of swimming ability. If you're really determined you could probably be able to do at least a few laps after ... 6 months? (assuming you can't swim at all now). No impact, it's worth it.
