i only believe in lower left

skinny fags = no strength = pussy out doing any heavy house work. At least get some muscles so you can do useful things.
>> Anonymous
i agree with everything except the hairy chests. Not everyone is a bear. Respect those who can grow nice ones though.

Actually, I don't know about this one. A lot of /fit/ has an obsession with ultra-masculinity because they can't be that masculine. So they go on the internet and yell about it.

Should more people workout? Are skinny fags too skinny? It depends. Most of /fit/ has strange expectations that everyone should be 250 pounds, when they themselves aren't. They're not secure in their own prowess so they mock others--classic pussy behavior, really.

A man should be in good condition, fit, and capable of any reasonable demands made of him. Beyond that is personal taste--be a workhorse or lift heavy shit or reach a happy medium. Only a man who's having trouble reaching his own goals, pushes those goals on others. A man is fit because he wants to impress the women in his life, because he enjoys being healthy, because he's in it for himself, and because he wants to live up to what's expected of him. Anyone who denies those aspects is a failure.

A miserable fucking failure.

But regular physical strength is

Muscle makes the man: nah
Real men have hairy chests: Not necessarily, but only pansy-asses shave their chest
If you are skinny, you are a wimp: There's a point of being weak where you're just a fucking burden to everyone else around you, so I kind of agree
I work out for myself, not the girls: More commonly true than you think, good self image, clean bill of health, and endorphin release are reason enough for me, the girls thing plays a varying role from person to person, probably about 15% for me personally.

I'm 5' 6" 143 lbs, good muscle tone, you don't need massive muscle mass do do useful things. Compact strength ftw

Hmmm..let's see here:

Muscle makes the man: muscles won't guarantee you a nice home, the job of your dreams, or that girl you always think about. Reaching a certain goal can serve as a confidence booster, and can teach you that anything you want badly in life requires consistent hard work and dedication.

Real men have hairy chests: not sure where you got this...I've a fair amount of hair around my pecs, and it's never bothered me. Can't ever imagine shaving my chest...too weird.

If you're skinny you're a wimp: I mean I understand the disdain towards fat people for not putting in the effort in changing their eating habits, but why knock skinny people? Not everybody thinks you need a huge build to get anywhere in life.

I workout for myself, not the girls: well...not exactly.

I initially started working out as an extremely effective form of stress management (look ma, no drugs!), but there is one girl I always think about while I work out, and I always imagine the look on her face when she looks at how I've radically changed my physique.

Problem is, she's on the other side of the planet.

So mostly stress/anger management. Girls? I'm honestly in so much pain working out, that I can't find it in myself to care.

Thinking of that one girl makes the pain go away, though.

if you are in the first 3 weeks of lifting then i can understand the DOMS but

MUSCLE = MAN: Well, all other things being equal, the man with more muscle is more of a man, yes.

HAIRY CHEST: Mine's hairy, but it's irrelevant. Shaving your chest makes you less of a man, though.

SKINNY = WIMP: Yes. That's basic. But it's more about the muscle. Fat and weak also = wimp.

NOT FOR THE GIRLS: Agree somewhat. I'm engaged, so I don't need to pick up, but when I'm stronger I fuck better.

Nope...been cutting for almost two years, went from 30% bodyfat to 9% (145 lbs). Combination of HIIT cycling, sprinting, weight training and powerlifting. Started real slow, progressively made my workouts intense as time passed...radically changed my diet, six meals a day, good ratio of protein/complex carbs/good fats...etc.

Six pack, well defined, and good tone...but I thought I'd start bulking up before I take my bodyfat any lower. That's where the DOMS is coming from, as I only started bulking about 2 months ago.

Progress is solid (2 lbs of lean mass so far), but I routinely visit my physician who refers me to a physical therapist. I also hire a personal trainer once a week to check on proper form and technique.

So really it's just a matter of training through...I know the pain will subside, it's just a matter of not giving up.

Thanks for the concern, though :) .
