What does /fit/ think of subway?

I'm not one for fast foods because of their atrocious nutrition content but I still do eat at Subway.
Is there something about their sandwiches that their not letting on? I've seen their nutritional contents and it looks healthy enough. Also their ingredients look fresh enough.

Picture related it's my favorite sub on wheat bread.

If you add dressing then that puts on like 200 calories.

I once lost weight eating only Subway sandwiches. Of course, I had aides.

It's better than most fast food but it's still crap and full of chemicals and non-nutritional information. If you have to eat out, stick with Subway anyways, but try to make real food before you go out.

the only sauce I dare put on my sandwich is the sweet onion sauce which consists of:
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 tablespoon minced white onion
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
2 teaspoons white distilled vinegar
1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon buttermilk baking mix
1/4 teaspoon lemon juice
1/8 teaspoon poppy seed
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 pinch cracked black pepper
1 pinch garlic powder

the corn syrup worries me.
But does such a small amount even matter?

Subway is "healthy" if you KNOW what to get and what not to get.
As a road warrior I tend to hit subway often for lunch.
I normally get the 6" wheat-bread oven roasted chicken, lettuce, tomato, peppers, NO CHEESE, and very light oil.
Done deal and decent cal content.

50 calories for two pieces of cheese?
You must be joking nigger.

I get Subway when I have no time to get home and make something.

%90 of the time I stick to turkey breast on whole wheat with every vegetable topping they have, with extra tomatoes and banana peppers.
Mustard and salt+pepper.

It's healthy for the most part. The bread is fresh and whole wheat is a plus, the vegetables are alright, the cheese is processed, the meat is deli style. Sauce is loaded with shit.

eh i only eat veggie delights which i doubt there's much in that i need to worry about.
salad on some bread. FUCK YES.

I worked at subway. All the "fresh" ingredients come either in tin cans, pickeled, or frozen and vaccum sealed. The only things that are actually freash are the tomatoes, green peppers and onions

That's pretty much same everywhere. I worked at a pizza chain in highschool. Fresh stuff was tomatoes, onions, peppers, mushrooms

I eat subway every single day. This is what I get:

foot long turkey breast or oven grilled chicken breast
any kind of cheese[whatever I feel like]
lettuce
tomatoes
pickles
black olives
cucumber
salt and pepper

I eat this around 4pm and I'm good for the rest of the day. It's fucking huge and it's only 5 bucks !!

I eat the cheese.

Saturated fat causes your body to produce more testosterone.

People who have a problem are people who regularly eat A LOT of the shit.

Here's why Subway/Submarina/Quiznos/etc is shit.

Sodium. Tons and tons of sodium. Do you like eating 1200-1600 grams with a 6 incher? how about over 2k (your days worth) in a footlong?

OM NOM NOM

Just a basic sammich with turkey, no cheese, no condiments, tomatoes, lettuce, and onions? 1200 grams of sodium. God help you if you add anything else!

2400 grams of sodium is whats in the sweet onion chicken teriyaki.

What can this do to me /fit/?

So? Most people in /fit/ drink at least 7 liters of water a day, right? Sodium intake isn't that bad as long as you stay hydrated.
