I'm very overly paranoid about prolapse while doing squats, and dead lifts.
What actually causes a prolapse while weight lifting?
How can I avoid it?

Don't try to poop while weight lifting. Problem Solved

Technique is everything. Apparently 30% of weight lifters suffer a mild to moderate prolapse at some point in their lives, but with proper form and care that number drops to only 10%.

Wait, what the fuck? Prolapse is a broad term. What organ are you referring to? I didn't know this could happen.

I did some super google research and there is absolutely zero information on chances or cases of a rectal prolapse while squatting. Seems bogus to me. There's one bullshit email chain letter with a sick photo that turns out to be shopped.

Wikipedia lists the following as causes of rectal prolapse:
"Rectal prolapse is often associated with the following conditions: advanced age, long term constipation, long term diarrhea, long term straining during defecation, pregnancy and stresses of childbirth, previous surgery, cystic fibrosis, COPD, multiple sclerosis, paralysis, anal sex, and other sexual activities involving the anus and the exploration thereof."

Squatting or deadlifting do not fit under any of those.
