is jogging alot more effective or is it the same as if I were to take a powerwalk for the same duration of time if I wanted to loose weight?

I guess jogging should give more muscles in the lower body so the bodyfat% goes down.

Calories = Energy

Movement requires energy (physics)

More movement requires more energy (physics)

Traveling a longer distance by jogging for an equal amount of time will use more energy = more calories = more weight loss.

There's no easy way out, don't look for it.

comparing walking and jogging, it's almost 100% correct to say the only determinant of calorie burn is the distance traveled

Doctor once told me that distance for distance, walking and running buns the same amount of calories.
Don't know if I would trust him though. The question I asked was what I could do to strengthen my double jointed knees so they wouldn't flex sideways when I ran.
I was trying to join the Army and didn't want to have to get a knee brace in basic.

Wrong. Wrong and Wrong.
I have been a fitness trainer for almost 5 years now. The answer is steady. It is by far the most effective and safe practice for weight loss.

Low heart rate such as 120-150 burns the most fat, not calories BUT FAT!

Also, when exercising you want to mix up your routine (Treadmill, Eliptical, bike, etc.) as often as possible to avoid getting used to a certain for of fat burn.

Wrong. Wrong and Wrong.
I have been a fitness trainer for almost 533 years now. The answer is bacon. It is by far the most effective and safe practice for weight loss.

High heart rate such as 1,200-15,000 burns the most fat, not calories BUTT FAT!

Also, when exercising you want to keep your routine the same (Treadmill, Treadmill, Treadmill, etc.) as often as possible to make sure you burn the same type of fat.

well, you're a shitty personal trainer

optimum fat loss occursat heart rate 60%-70% of max heart rate

walking doesn't get my heart rate anywhere close to 60%, jogging does

this heart rate stuff has been disproven lately.
Just forget it.
