I've heard some ghetto ass gyms don't have a squat rack or a smith machine. It's unfortunate that you are missing out.
If you are trying to gain weight, you have to constantly eat at a point that the sight of food sickens you. Try eating atleast 4 meals a day at a point you are eating not because you are hungry but just because. However, you need to eat good stuff, not the junk, which you should know if you've been lurking /fit/ for awhile.
