Dear /fit/
What do you guys eat before a gym session and how long before? I haven't been going to the gym long and the last time I went I got really woozy which I guess was due to lack of energy.
Any input would be great.

Starchy carbs, some protein, and a little fat. For me that's oats (complex carbs) with milk and raisins (simple carbs), a whey shake and if I'm tired I'll take 200mg of caffeine.

oatmeal, as close to 90 minutes as possible

i used to eat these Odwalla energy/protein/granola/whatever bars, they're pretty good, but now i just stick to good ol' oatmeal

Normally i have a protein shake in the morning, take the dogs for a walk, come back and eat tuna, 2 egg whites & tabasco sauce and start my workout 30 mins later.

Kinda like this.

I work best after eating a medium breakfast, not a HUGE one, because that shit takes me too long to digest.

About 730 every morning, I eat eggs, toast/biscuits/etc, and plenty of fruit for breakfast. I drink about two or three glasses of water between then and 1030, when I meet my team at the gym.

If I've gotten enough sleep (8hrs-ish), that is perfect for me.

Theory is, a few hours to digest complex starches is good for bulk energy stores. Fruit is good for raising blood sugar. Together, you should have an optimal amount of energy for the workout.

Thanks for the input. I'll try and work on each of them to see what works right for me.
