Is there any way you can tell when you should stop running? I'm a fatass but I can run non-stop for over an hour, mostly fueled by willpower and rage, but after 40 or so minutes, it feels like my whole body is burning inside, my vision starts to blur, etc. I'm not sure if that's a bad sign but I just keep going anyway. Can it be unhealthy to run for longer than your body can take? Like, could one suddenly drop dead of exhaustion?

Yes, you can drop dead from running.
That's what the first marathon runner did in fact.
Why do you push it over your limit?
I don't see any reason for that.

Why? To burn more calories I guess?

Then just eat less and you don't have to burn so many.

when your field of view is blurred and you hear your pulse in your ear. thats when i stop ...

I stop when I start becoming delirious.

I experience what you're talking about. Sometimes my hands also start to get almost a pins and needles feeling.

I think the body is just shunting blood and oxygen where it's needed, not to your brain, eyes, and hands.

Whether it's bad or not, I don't know. It's better for you than not running at all.
