So, I began skateboarding and I want to buy a good board. What should I look for as a beginner and is it possible to get a good board under 100$?

Blank decks are okay if you aren't doing hardcore shit on it.
Other then that go pro-grade decks (Element, Zooyork, Enjoi, almost, Baker, etc.)

since you're looking for a board under $100 you can consider buying a pre-made complete deck.

if you want to spend just a little over $130 for BETTER parts, get a custom deck.

Deck - Any Pro-Grade
Bearings - Bones Reds
Wheels - Any small [48-51mm], [hard 97-101AA] wheels for tricks. Large, soft for cruising.
Grip Tape is EXTREMELY reccommended
Trucks - Any mid-rise trucks. Tensors/Silvers/Royals/Destructos reccommended.

plan B decks have been working the best for me and to me have the best concave.
Bearing I would say reds cause they are fucking cheap and work well enough.
Wheels depend on what you wanna do. For me anything bigger than 56 is for cruising I like 52-53mm wheels on my deck.
Trucks well I had ventures fucking cracked, furies fucking blow and tensor blew cock too. Independents are all I ride now cause they stake the abuse and last a while.
Griptape Black magic only.

most pro decks cost 60-75

if you need trucks and wheels adn all that stuff you'll spend 130-150

Support your local independent-run skate shop and buy one of their blank decks - it will work fine, not significantly worse than any "pro" deck. To be honest any deck will get destroyed quickly with heavy use, so I wouldn't be swayed by the graphics if I were you - they'll get ripped up quickly.Tensor trucks are the best if you can afford them. Save on wheels if you have to - small ones assuming you'll want to do tricks.

try a minilogo, they're basically a pro board but CHEAPER and STRONGER.

Srsly, they're like half the cost and twice the strength and pop. www.skateone.com
