See, diet soda is great and all, but you're tricking your body. You've been trained since birth that sweet things = lots of calories. When you drink diet soda, your brain goes "ALRIGHT SWEET STUFF, IM READY FOR THE CALORIES IM ABOUT TO GE-WHAT THE FUCK? NO CALORIES? GO GET SOME, FATTY" and so, you become "hungry."
So, yeah. Diet soda makes you crave calories. Just stop drinking soda all together. I stopped 2 months ago and already lost 10 lbs. from just -that-.
