Hi /fit/,

2 days ago I got my gallbladder removed because of a delayed reaction to something or other blah blah medical terms yada yada.

At any rate, has anyone else had this done? Are there any side effects that anyone can think of? Is there something I can do now to prevent those? Also, how long did your pain last after op? I felt fine the first day after surgery (but i had pain meds then) and now I feel like poo.

Any advice, in before become an hero.

The gallbladder is used to store bile, which is an agent in breaking down and using fat.
Nowadays we have an excess of nutrition, and storing bile is not really an issue anymore.

Six months after I had my gallbladder removed, I started having violent shitting attacks. No joke.
Without bile, you can't digest really greasy meals ever again. You will soon learn to avoid any "shiney" foods, as the oils or grease will pass from your mouth to your ass so quickly, you'll wonder if it ever hit your stomach.
It sucks. There's no solution other than to (a) eat healthy or (b) eat whatever you want but NEVER drink anything with your meals. If you're dehydrated, your body will suck the moisture out of your stool before you explode a big sticky bomb in the toilet.
