I got a question to anyone who has dieted before. I've been dieting for about 3 months now and I was doing great, I lost weight every week up until about two weeks ago. Ever since then, I've noticed that my body weight has stayed the same (really obese, 250 atm). I have not been eating differently or been working out differently. Do these halts in progress occur or do I need to step up my game?

I suggest that you splurge for about two days, or even just one day will help. Basically your body has adjusted to the set amount of calories you're feeding it, and you need to amp it up a bit to get it back into the burning mode.

Hmmm thanks, I guess I should have done that today since it is thanksgiving, I'll try it on left overs tomorrow.

They happen. You can splurge to make yourself think you're doing something about it, but more time either way is going to see more fatloss. Your body is just being stubborn about it right now.

I agree! I am myself on a diet right now and when I stop to lose weight, I eat a little more for a couple of days. Not too much, just a little more and it does the trick!

You've encountered a plateau. You need to do something different to throw your body off and "wake it up." Like other suggested; taking a break from your diet. You can also eat more, eat low carb, do something really weird, whatever... just make sure it's a deviation from the norm.
