Hey /fit/

I want to get in shape.

I'm sure you've seen a billion of these threads, but bear with me. I'm 6" and 225 pounds. I'm a fatass. I want to lose weight but I'm a lazy fag and can't motivate myself to do so. I wasn't always fat, I used to be skinny in high school when I was prescribed adderall. Before I went on adderall I was fat, but not even a month after I started taking it I was already losing weight. I didn't change my eating habits and I've never really had a workout regimen. Now that I'm off adderall again I'm fat. What do I do to get in shape? I have no idea where to start. Also, how does /fit/ motivate themselves to work out? I don't want to be buff or anything, just toned.

tl;dr, How do I motivate myself to lose weight, and what are the best eating habits and workout regimens to do so?

first of all, lose the hair.

second, if you arent able to get to a gym, start doing basic shit: pushups, crunches, go out and run a mile everyday or something. continue with this simple plan for a while while doing research and planning for a better, more focused workout plan.

Most people on /fit/ will tell you to eat healthy and count your calories and shit, but I haven't found the need to do any of that and I'm seeing progress in my own workout plan. I just lift MWF, splitting up different muscle groups on each day with light cardio each of my lift days, then TuTh is hardcore cardio on the heavy bag.

I eat whatever the fuck I want to eat, I drink protein shakes after my workouts, and if I'm too sore, I take a day off of exercising.

You will need to do some homework, no, a great deal... Muscleheads have a reputation for stupidity, but the pursuit of muscle is actually quite complex.

THIS is what i do, and it works suprisingly well, working out is supposed to be enjoyable, make it be unless you plan on making a career out of it. As long as you do something, anything is better than sitting home playing vidyas all day. However that being said make sure you put some effort towards your goals otherwise you will be wasting your time.

Here's what you do. Get an mp3 player, fucking crank deliverance and walk. Walk once a day for 30 minutes. If you've got a bike, ride it. Also do some running here and there as well.

I get motivated to work out by having a schedule on when to work out. You should do the same, make damn sure you don't miss it. If you're going to go for a walk at 9AM, then fucking do it, don't skip it.

Nice shirt, google starting strenght ( it will help for the work-out regiment)

For the motivation, blast some Amon Amarth or any brutal death/black metal while you work out. ( Dying Fetus and Rotting Christ works well). It makes you feel like you could burn down villages and it's an awesome motivator.

Also ignore the fags who wants you to cut your hair. Keep metal in your hearth

But if you're a lazy fucker and won't read, to lose weight, make sure you do some form of cardio everyday to burn fat/calories (in the morning after you wake up is best, fasted cardio doesn't have to make you burn through glycogens, goes straight to fat), and do a lifting program to burn more fat/calories (indirectly, fat burning occurs after the workout throughout the day)... also, eat 6 small meals a day, eat lean protein with each meal, drink tonnes of water and cut your caloric intake by 500-1000 a day.

Coming from a heterosexual man, you used to look pretty attractive. To lose weight, do these:

Find out your BMR, subtract 500, and try to eat that many calories a day. Of course, it doesn't have to be exactly that much, but aim for around that. Next, exercise. Lift weights three days a week and do light cardio if you have time left, and on days you don't lift, do HIIT (google it). Try to go to the gym 5-6 times a week. Don't stay in the gym for more than 60 minutes, it's often counter productive.
