Like I said, if you're relatively healthy, feel free to give one of these things a shot. I'm currently using Cytolean for a 6 week trial to see if I can get rid of some stubborn belly fat. However, this is in conjunction with my 6 small meals per day (3 of those protein supplements).
Here's what I can see. My arms are getting big. My legs are already huge but they are starting to get leaner, which is nice cause summer is coming up and I normally hate wearing shorts.
However, don't overdo the cardio. Most people are under the impression that more cardio = faster fat loss. Unfortunately, this isn't true. It's all about intensity. If you can, do high-intensity interval training. If you've never done it before, don't expect to last more than 5 minutes even if you're pretty healthy.
Keep in mind that HIIT is relative to the individual. Your goal during cardio should be to raise your heart rate to 70-90% of your calculated maximum heart rate and KEEP IT THERE for the duration of your workout. A 20 minute intense cardio session which leaves you glistening with sweat is more effective than a 2 hour more leisurely one for burning fat.
The trick to not slowing your metabolism though is this: Don't overtrain. Go to the gym six times per week and not seven. On that seventh day, eat ANYTHING YOU GODDAMN PLEASE. Want a big mac combo? Go for it. Want a big mofucking steak, go for it. Don't go to the gym that day.
(And, obviously, keep it in moderation. Don't eat a kilogram of mayo, for instance)
The purpose of this one day off is to give your body the time it needs to recover as well as to fool it into not thinking that it is starving and therefore lowering your metabolism.
