Hey, /fit/
I recently started basic exercising (push ups and sit ups) and I was wondering how long until I start seeing results? I get little to no exercise so at first I only managed 5 (max) push ups but now i've moved up to about 25 (max) same with the sit ups.

tl;dr how long until I see muscles?

Pretty much never if you don't make them harder.
Once you get >30 repetitions, you won't gain size.

Also, it takes roughly 2-4 months for actual gains.

How long? Longer than you'd like.

Hmm...I see...thanks. So as long as I continue building up the amounts I can do after a few months I'll start to notice a difference?

no. you have to lift weights, to see results.

never, until you start doing cardio and lower your bodyfat% (even if you're thin, your bodyfat% is probably high).

>no. you have to increase your resistance, and after a while bodyweight exercises aren't going to cut it.

You're right, in fact I am thin and my body fat% is high, that's the whole reason i'm doing this. This is a stupid question, but what's the best free way to lower my body fat%?

Haha, absolutely not. I sometimes worry about how unfit I am, at least now I'm doing something about it.
