people have wildly different experiences on paxil
i took the regular 20mg for a while. when the sun went down i pretty much fell asleep instantly. it was messed up. also was really sensitive to alcohol. the combination made my first new year's shit.
next thing that happened was it was really hard to have an orgasm. holding back used to be about willpower and then suddenly it was, do i have the will to go for long enough. as a guy it was good for the ego, until i realized that the girl i was with started to take it personally.
also, feeling good in situations where you used to not feel good can mess with your reality. it's better, don't get me wrong, but you can make some pretty poor decisions because you're feeling fine instead of wary.
all this stuff happened in reverse when i went off it, pretty much.
final words: your doc will give you a plan to wean off it. FOLLOW THE PLAN. people get fucked up by going cold turkey off paroxetine and end up taking ssris forever.
when you're withdrawing you might feel little electric shocks in your head. it's messed up and it's your sign that you're withdrawing. a low dose of paxil (or I actually used a different ssri, one dose, divide in half, in half, in half...) will make it go away.
after two months or so you should be alright, and not back at square one.
your mileage may vary. be careful, but if you use it properly it really can help you get the good experiences under your belt that will finally significantly (not completely) help you see social situations a better way.
