Anybody use Zoloft? What's it like for you? I've been using for about a week now and don't feel much different.

no

Takes up to six weeks to see noticeable effects of antidepressants. I've been on sertroline in the past and it helped a little but not enough to be worth it.

Also, sertroline is known for causing people to commit suicide. It doesn't happen very often but if you start feeling suicidal, be aware that it could be the drugs having an effect on you.

anti depressants typically take close to a month to see full results

I was already suicidal. In what little way did it help you, though?

It just made me feel better, really. Not great, but it took away the suicidal urges.

In the give-or-take two months I took it,
I punched in no fewer than two walls and broke a window.
Sertraline = Mr. Hyde.

On a slightly related note, anyone remember Tamogotchi?

anti depressants are for faggots

What were the negatives of using it? Why isn't it worth it?

I hate Zoloft. I was on it for years and it eventually stopped working when my doctor said that he couldn't increase the dosage anymore. It takes about a month to kick in. You're going to have a pretty crappy time when you want to get off Zoloft.

I'd think twice about using anti-depressants, dude.

takes up to 30 days of use for a serratonin uptake inhibitor to even start to take effect by slowly raising your serratonin, anything any faster would be detramental, and really fun like takeing E which dumps all of your serratonin reserves into your bloodstream, which in turn 3 days later makes you feel extra depressed aka suicide monday. google it. also ask your doctor or pay attention dumb shit.

not always. I was on Lexapro for a week and noticed SIGNIFICANT changes literally 7 days afterward. I know, it's not typical most of the time.

and he's right about suicide (any antidepressants and a lot of psychoactive drugs run that risk; in young adults especially).

From what i hear, is that a lot of the suicides come from the fact that severely depressed people are so depressed they can create a plan to kill themselves. So when they take anti-depressants, they become less depressed, but only just enough so they are able to kill themselves..

Kinda depressing.

I took this over a time of 2 years. And while I lost my gravest depressive thoughts I also lost the ability to become happy...

Think Zombie, and you get the point I'm trying to describe. Like a daytime-zombie, best way I can describe what I became like. Just walking around with no particular goal, no sadness but no joy as well.

I eventually quit them, mostly because I had gained like 30kg since I started using them. One of the effect I found when you're feelings for stuff goes away, is that one might find the joy in training all gone after a while, thus the extreme weight gain.

So what can I recommend? If ure on the verge on killing yourself every night, sure.. hop on the numb train. But other than that, I cant suggest any form of anti depressive pills (as I have tried a few others than zoloft). Get in shape, start working out, get laid, change job, anything to better you're mood is probably better than starting with something like this.

Note however that the effect can be different from person to person, but this is my experience of using this anti depressive pill during a pretty long run.

Oh, also, quoting myself here. When starting on the zoloft, I personally found myself feeling a bit ill from time to time.
And my sexual urge (<- if thats the way you say it?) went down hill when I started taking this.

So needless to say, when I abruptly quit one day, I got a raging boner which popped up at the most strangest of times (like when entering a buss, or standing in line at the grocery shop). I'm not lying, I could get a boner from seeing a mailbox right after I quit with these pills!

Another funny thing that happened was that after about a week of not taking these pills, I cried for a whole day! As I hadn't cried for so long, it was like all my feelings just pouring out in one single day.

Oh well, just some of the effects that happened to me when I quit using these after 2 years.

or the antidepressant induces mania. a manic episode = putting fist thru walls and making accusations. suicidal ideation during mania could result in follow thru.

a good treatment for mania is to sleep. just lay down and wait for it to pass.

allegra, the allergy med, is another pill that induced suicidal depression. the air force no longer allows it to be prescribes to its soldiers.

Do your squats and deadlifts.

Deadlifts makes everyone feel good after.

Yo /fit/ I've got a problem.

This morning when I woke up my left testicle started to hurt and hurt like someone kicked it (just the left one).

After viewing some self examination video I checked myself and found no lumps or abnormal signs, except that whatever is above my left testicle (I'm thinking whats in charge of releasing seminal fluid, etc.) feels inflamed.

I can't afford a doctor's visit, any suggestions?
Picture somewhat related.
