It seems like most threads are about exercising but maybe you can offer some insight on my question as well.

Back on Feb 29. I slipped on some black ice on the sidewalk. I was wearing jeans with holes in the knees this skinning the hell out of them (see picture). It's been two months and my knees are still visibly bruised. Obv, they look alot better but should I be worried the bruises are still hanging out? One of them developed a small purple spot in the middle randomly a day or so ago, as well. My knees aren't painful or anything. Still, cause for concern, y or n? Maybe vitamin deficiency causing prolonged healing?

get a rag and get it soaked in hydrogen peroxcide, then apply to knees.

at the risk of sounding ignorant, what the heck will peroxide do for bruises? they're not open wounds...

I would say that yes, that is a cause for concern. A small wound will heal almost entirely in 2 weeks, and even large patches like that should heal over in a month, or at least be completely closed and bruise free. It still looks like you've got a raw spot that's ready to bleed if you poke it.

I would personally go to a doc and get your blood checked out. But I'm no expert.

OP here.
That picture is from the day after it happened so you'd get the idea of the severity of the wound initially and could gauge if it ought to be healed by now.

Oh, probably should have mentioned that.

Well.... in short, yes go see a doctor and get your blood works checked out. Those are pretty sissy wounds to still be hanging around 2 months later. Yes, sometimes bruises, especially deep ones like those you get when incompetent nurses take blood and fuck up, will take a while to heal, but 2 months is way too long for little scrape marks unless you've constantly picked at them and made them bleed.

Rereading I guess you did mention it. Forget me, I'm a tard. But this tard knows that shit should have probably healed a month ago.

why don't you people go see a doctor instead of posting on 4chan. Are you American? Don't you have health insurance? If you have one, does it not cover this? If anything happens to me I am off to see my doctor first thing because of FREE HEALTH CARE.

Why don't I go to the doctor?

1) because I am a college student who is currently 300+ miles away from her family practitioner
2) bc I'd rather avoid paying a $20 co-pay (and possibly lab fees) for something that might be nothing.

Do you know how much food I can get for $20 instead of wasting it on having some clinic doc look at my knee for two seconds and be like "uh...looks alright to me.." or "oh we should probably run lots of unnecessary costly tests so we can find out you just need more vitamin K or some crap"?

Find a friend to split bills with. If you're valuing $20 so greatly, you may want to start prostitution.

Listen OP, I've cracked my head and the nasty gash healed in a week. I've nearly sliced one side of my finger off and the wound was closed up and hardly noticeable in two weeks. I've had skinned knees, skinned elbows, skinned hands, and even skinned the side of my face once, and all of that shit was nice and scabby in one week, and nothing but light scar tissue in a month.

Persistant wounds or bruising is an indication that you either royally fucked your underlying bone (which I doubt since your knees would hurt like a bitch) or that your blood iron is low and you're anemic. Go get a blood test, and suck it down if you're out $20. Two month old wounds are not normal, and you need to know why you've still got them.
