Bruce Lee had more strength than most bodybuilders and fitness competitors of today's world. He could do dumbbell lifts with the arms extended using 125 lb dumbbells - 125 FREAKIN' POUNDS MAN - from arm down to straight out from the shoulder 20 times. Not man humans alive today could do that.
He was so strong, and so fast, that most of the time the scenes in some movies had to be shot at a higher framerate so that when played back at normal speed you could see what the hell he was doing.
Fred Weintraub, the producer of most of his movies, said that Bruce was the first person he'd ever met in his entire life that could literally make the air "pop" when he threw a punch. Usually that's a sound effect added into kung fu/martial arts flicks, but Bruce could actually punch that fast and that hard to do it - almost a human "sonic boom" punch. Guile would be proud. :)
He was and still is one of my heroes, and I for one was saddened when he passed away so long ago. I was about 5 at the time, but even then I'd seen a movie or two and even today I still watch them on occasion and collect his works.
One of the truly gifted humans ever born. And an American too... let's not forget that. ;)
