Is there any website available comparing different gyms such as Balley and Gold's Gym? The reason I'm asking is because I was not able to find any information on either website. Thanks in advance.

Here is my review.

They both suck.

They are geared towards amateurs now. Arnold would be pissed. And many Gold's ban deadlifts. Balley's, pfft, you're better off with bodyweight exercises since they probably don't even have a dumbbell over 70 if they even have dumbbells.

Take advantage of the trial periods if there are any.

I'm mostly going to use the gym's for cardio. Losing weight, you know, the usual crap on /fit/.

Just go to the gyms and ask for a tour

Alright. Just thought I might be able to get a quote.

Is anyone able to give a quote on any fitness center?

ya know... you don't NEED a treadmill to run...

Yeah, but the fitness centers are able to give you heart rate, estimates on weight loss, diet plan, etc;

With the money you spend on a gym membership, you could get a Garmin or Suunto heart monitor watch, and by reading, you could easily find out where your maximal weight loss zone is.

Get outside. Don't be a gym douche.

I'd rather not shitstorm the board, so I'll just start asking a different question.

I want to lose 20 pounds by the middle of July, hopefully in ten weeks. If I run HIIT :
-10 minute jog
-5 minute 30/30 second run/jog
-5 minute walk
Will I be able to lose 2-3 pounds of fat if I do the preceding cardio every day except Sunday [rest period]? Also, is the HIIT cardio alright for the goal, or should I change the cooldown to a jog? Even more importantly, will this goal be attainable?

Ain't enough time. Just go outside and run for thirty minutes minimum, it ain't that hard. If you can't run no more, take a break. If your legs are pounding with pain, go home and rest for the day.

Do it everyday. Also, eat minimally but don't starve. Eat early and often, but minimally. Diet is as (if not more) important than cardio.

And sleep. If you don't feel like you can walk outside let alone run, rest another day. Goal is easily attainable if you keep at it. You'll probably lose more than 20lbs in ten weeks, assuming you're consistent and don't eat a lot of calories.

each gym of each company varies in it's facilities.

I used to run, but after a knee injury it's not an option anymore. I like the gym I go to, they only want $36/mo and they allow 24 hour access. Plus there's only a handful of members so I never have to wait to use equipment.

So don't do HIIT?

My thoughts exactly.

Afaik,
>-10 minute jog
>-5 minute 30/30 second run/jog
>-5 minute walk
as HIIT is plenty.

What if I incorporate HIIT into a 30 minute cardio?
-10 minute jog
-5 minute 30/30 second run/jog
-10 minute jog
-5 minute 30/30 second run/jog

Isn't having no rest period dangerous to the muscles.
Also, HIIT was proven to be better than regular cardio.

I'd assume so.

Any second opinions?

So, I'm assuming that HIIT is better than regular cardio, as well as having a resting period [1 day] is better for your muscles.
