Pic obviously unrelated.

So, I've been the same weight my entire life. I've always been stuck in this sort of middle-ground; not thin enough to look fit, but not fat enough to look... well, fat. I can eat like a pig for months and not gain a pound, but unfortunately it seems to work the other way, too. No matter what I do, I can't seem to lose weight. I'm not too bad off (5'3", 130 lbs), but there is a considerable amount of fat on my hips / thighs, and being in a swimsuit next to my super-skinny friends is still pretty embarrassing.

It seems like I've tried everything, and nothing's worked. First off, I've never really been a big eater-- I naturally eat about 800-1000 calories a day, spaced between 3-4 meals, and feel perfectly full. I have had health problems that have required dieting throughout my life, so discipline really isn't an issue.

While I was still working out a lot (I'd alternate between jogging / weightlifting every other day, working out every day) I'd burn around 200 cal a day weightlifting and would jog for about forty five minutes a day. I completely cut out the junk food and watched my fat intake. This went on for about three months.

The only thing that happened was that I went from being a C cup to almost an A cup. Absolutely no other changes at all.

Sure, I had more stamina, but I didn't feel any different when I wasn't working out, and my legs were still pretty damn fat.

I gave it up a while back, but going off my regimen hasn't made me gain weight, either... although I have my boobs again.

I'm just posting here because I really want to try again. I know that I must've done something wrong, but I can't really figure out what. I figure the good folks here at /fit/ should know.

Creepy. Do you go through the same shit, too, or are you just the same build?

LOL. Nice try, but I'm no camwhore.

You had me going for a bit, though, so 7/10.

wait wait.>>80789here, and>>80800is not me

I have done lots of thing, but not exactly the same like your routine. And I don't have your problem though. I lose weight easily BUT gain weight easily too. I can lose like 5 kg in 2 weeks.

I have fat legs like you. And I'm about 5' 110lbs. I'm waaaay shorter but I think our body is about the same type

Oh, okay, cool.

Damn, I'm pretty envious. I think in those months that I was working out a lot, I only lost about two pounds... can't lose weight at all.

And a 3" difference isn't waaaaaayyyy shorter, but I can definitely see some similarities. Fuckin' pear-shaped bodies... really annoying.

I'm a 6'0 guy but I have the same problem. I'm in between fat and thin and have a little bit of belly. No matter what I do, I just stay at a stable weight. The one thing I did try ~5 years ago that actually worked was a strict adherence to the south beach diet. I lost around 10-15 pounds of weight permanently. My ass felt really bony for a while, but it refilled again and I stayed at my stable 200 pounds. I had to stop because I didn't feel that good and wasn't able to complete it.

You can also permanently move to the CRON lifestyle/diet. Supposed to extend your life span too. I lost 5 pounds on that too, although my 200 pounds weight measurement is probably due to weighting myself with clothing and random times vs. my now consistent weighing schedule naked before the morning shower.

Also remember that there is nothing inherently bad about fat, it's just more calorically dense, so it's easy to consume excess/ stable calories with it. Don't fall into the trap of just eating only carbohydrates for %85 of your diet, you need the fat & protein! You can get fat from eating too many carbohydrates! It really comes down to calories eaten and calories consumed.

800-1000 calories a day seems like too little. For your height you need 1,500-2,000. Maybe your metabolism has slowed down too much because of this?

800-1000 is too low. Medical journals advise no less than 1200 and you should generally lower your intake by no more than 20%.
