Hey /fit/,

I have a fear of dying too early, and my dad died of esophageal cancer near age 48, he was a smoker until he got sick. I decided around that time that I'd never smoke cigarettes, but what about cigars?

The smoke doesn't go down into your lungs, but doesn't that mean the cancer/disease will (potentially) show up in another place?

Yep. Pic related.

Leading cause of death is life.

You really worried about dying too early? Dude you have no control over when you die.

You can still get increased risks for lung cancer, mouth and esophagal cancers, etc. Just because you aren't "inhaling" doesn't mean that some smoke doesn't end up in your respiratory system. And mouth cancer is gross too. I mean, you don't inhale with chewing tobacco (pic def related)

Eh. The highest occurrences of cancer for cigar and pipe smokers is throat, mouth and anything else in that general area.

That being said, what's life without a few pleasures. I smoke a cigar or pipe occasionally, accepting the risk. Churchill smoked 8-10 cigars a day and lived to be 90. U.S. Grant smoked about 50 a day, though I have no clue how, and died of throat cancer.

Yea, it may shorten your life, but so does drinking alcohol, eating beef and driving a car.

Correction. Grant smoked 20. Freud also smoked 20

But they were just cigars
