I had a med student friend talk about the benefits of fasting, and it seems that there's a reasonable amount of scientific evidence to get behind this. However, in reading the article, there's one thing I had to flag:

There’s a reason that people who eat a huge breakfast or lunch are falling asleep hours later, because digestion takes a ton of energy.

Well, obviously, if your straw man is 'eating a pound of sausage at breakfast will slow you down,' the answer is 'yes.' However, if you're trying to make the slightly more sensible point that skipping breakfast is better than not skipping, this is wrong; there's been some studies (including one that made the news very recently) that eating a full breakfast tends to make you weigh less, in the long run. So while I agree with the guy's general argument, I have to strongly disagree with this point.

The author's pov on these studies. Having not looked at the studies myself idk

"Performance levels are still high (if not higher) - I wouldn’t have kept doing IF if I saw that the things I loved to do were negatively affected. Hence I can still play sports and lift weights, and feel great doing it."

Beer league and 20lb curls. To grow you need to eat! if you want to be skinny, I'm sure this could work, but so does just eating healthy. You can hit caloric excess or deficits with 3 meals a day, 6 meals a day isn't a requirement to reaching goals. When I was in college I went days without eating (depression) and did not shed a pound, now I eat more than ever, and look great..but everyone is different.

The cereal study is just proof that research is key. A lot of ppl would just skim that article that kelloggs put out and make teh assumption that eggs for breakfast will make you a fatass, while that is (in most cases) untrue.
