Diet is 80% of losing weight, right? I don't have access to weights for a few weeks and I really can't go running because of a leg injury. If I start dieting, how much will I be hurting myself without exercising with weights/cardio? Can I still expect to lose a good amount of weight without burning a sweat?

no.

Diets never work. Exercise is the key.

He speaks the truth. Diet is the word that refers to your regular eatting habits. Meaning if you change what you eat permenantly, only then will you have a chance at losing and keeping weight off. And exercise is as important, if not more important, than maintaining a healthy eatting lifestyle. Go swimming if you have an old leg injury. 0 impact and the best cardio you can ask for.

a diet is the food you eat regularly. Whatever you're eating now, that's your diet. a diet of McDonald's is useless, a properly balanced diet is good. facepalm.jpg

op, which weight? Fat-wait. Not muscle or muscle or skeleton. adipose tissue is most effectively reduced reduced with increased exercise. cutting out crappy foods like heavily refined shit is also a significant factor, but not as much as exercise.
