Hello there /fit/

School's starting in a week, and I wasted the whole summer of just sitting around and shit, so I packed on a few pounds. Apart from that I'm not very strong and could use some biceps.

Are there any options to lose weight (fairly) fast? How about gaining muscle?

Eat oatmeal for breakfast every day. I lost 10 pounds in a month just eating oatmeal. It curbs your appetite, and you take epic shits.

Check out a decent calisthenics type workout routine, and buy a chin up bar for your doorway. Totally underrated, chin ups are about the best bicep/upper body exercise out there. I think people who can't do even one get discouraged and give up on them too quickly. I went from being able to do a max of 3, to 20 in about 4 months.

Not the guy you were asking for, but you should do pushups. If you can do 20 reps, you should probably do pushups with your legs raised (keep your back fucking straight). If thats too easy, do some weighted pushups (backpack). Or weighted leg raised pushups. If you can't do a pullup though that's probably too far.

Just keep working up, pullups are great (different from chinups, both are useful but I'd lean towards pulls)

No problem. Just take a foot stool, and "bounce" up to the top position,and do a controlled negative rep. After a few weeks, you will be able to do one.

I use a "grease the groove" method. Basically, every time I walk by the bar, I pop out 5 reps. I do this maybe 10 times a day. I rarely go to failure on any exercise, and that seems to work for me. Last time I maxed out on chins, I got 20.

do 50 pushups, bycycle crunches, sit ups, mid level crunches, high level crunches, and 10 curls w/ dumb bell that will leave you tired after that...

reduce 50 to 40 for the next set and 10 to 8
do that until you get to 0....

every night. or every other
