Alright, /fit/, I'm 5'6" and about 165 lbs. (and a guy; induring shortfag). BMI = 26.6.
I'm tired of being fat. Ideally, I'd like to be around 130-135, maybe. I rarely exercise, but I don't eat very much, either. I entered my typical daily diet on...some website I can't think of right now, and it says I usually consume about 1200-1400 calories a day. I'll have a can of soda about once a month if that, and I rarely eat fast food or processed shit...why am I fat? Am I missing something? Other than exercise, and I do plan to start jogging or something. Would that be good? What should a typically healthy diet look like? What do you guys eat to stay in shape?

STAY AWAY FROM PROCESSED FOODS, FOODS COOKED IN OIL, FOODS HIGH IN FAT AND STARCH, and drink lots of water.

tuna
chicken
pasta
veggies and fruit
berries and nuts
stay away from any thing white that includes potatoes and bread

Eat about 2000 calories and go run for 60 min and the pounds will fall off

got a gym at your school? if you do go lift something heavy. none of that 5 lb 200 rep shit though

Look up Bill Star's 5x5 program. Go for 4-5 reps with big weight (after you get the form right) and eat a lot. Seriously you can do all the hard lifting in the fucking world but your muscles can't grow without extra calories to fuel the process.

When i first started writing down everything I ate to track calories I was blown away at how LITTLE I was eating. I thought I was eating about 2000 but it was barely 1200 on some days. When I actually upped my calories to 2500-3000 it seemed like I was always fucking eating but it was great.

When you build muscle it speed up your metabolism and you'll naturally lose fat better later on. But seriously the biggest reason you see skinny fags at the gym not get big is because diet. Eating way too little. I'm not talking bodybuilder "big" just a healthy good amount of muscle (you can still look somewhat skinny) big.

Also, fuck long cardio sessions. Go hard in short bursts. Sprinting 5 min > jogging 60min.

great. every problem on /fit/ can be solved by stronglifts and 5x5. and if that fails i guess you haves steroids right? because if someone makes any sort of progress its got to be the steroids doesn't it?
