Is there any way to perform weighted jackknifes at home, focusing on the lower abs primarily (so weighted legs, rather than holding a dumbell). It has to be at home as unfortunately the gym I'm a member of has a retarded admin, that decided cardio equipment, loose weights and only arm/chest/leg fixed machines was a good overall combination.

I have a selection of loose weights and bars, and was thinking of making some rope based contraption to tie though the center hole and secure around my feet.

Am I missing an obvious way to go about this?

hold a dumbell with yur feet or go to a decent gym, your choice.

buy some ankle weights. they aren't that expensive.

I was under the impression they didn't really go that heavy. I'm looking for about 10 kilos total, so 5 per leg - is that feasible on strapped ankle weights?

Also, on getting a better gym, that's a matter of time, since I'm back of to uni in 2 months and going back to their gym, this was just a stopgap measure.

i've got two 10 lb. ankle weights (americunt, here). they're enough for me.

you could just use a home made rope contraption, just tie a bowline in one end to wrap around your legs and then tie it to your dumbell. Just make sure its secure or you could end up with a dumbbell landing on your exposed gooch area...

just use 2 sets then.

My thoughts exactly, and reason behind the post. And holding the dumbbell alone with feet as suggested further up is even more likely to be ball crushing at some point.

Looks like ill go with the 2 sets of whatever decent weight straps i can find, cheers anons.

Strap a rucksack over your ankles with a 10kg plate inside. Rucksacks were pretty much made for home workouts.
