Pull-ups, Chin-ups, Dips, and Pushups. How would one incorporate all that body weight shit into the classic Rippetoe's Starting Strength?
Don't know. Would you really need to use body weight exercises if you're doing the Rippetoe.
I think they're all still important, except maybe pushups. Why do 70 of them when you can just load up a bar and get a better workout doing 8 reps?Pullups, chins, and dips are still great compound moves that I wouldn't want to give up.
>>246042But how can I effectively add them into the workout? Like a day where I SQUATZ, bench, and dead. At what point would a person do some bodyweight shit in between those?
>>246067Hmmm...not sure. would need to see the weekly sched. My instincts say instead of doing 8 sets of bench, or whatever, replace with some dips to stimulate different parts of the chest/tris.
>>246079It;s the typical Starting Strength program. 3 sets of 5 on squats, 3x5 on bench, and 1x5 on deadlifts. The switch it up on the next work out with squatz, overhead press and standing row.
Those are accesories exercises. Don't add them right away to avoid overtrain. I do them at the end of my workout.Dips on bench day, for synergy.Pullups on press day, for synergy.
>>246092Cool. I'll give it a try. What about Chin ups (palms facing in)
