help on clearing up my skin Anonymous
okay guys, I have some bad oily skin, and my complexion seems to be thrashed with spots all over and my pores are bad.

causes?
-I drink one soda a day
-I work out 4 days a week, if that means anything
-my hair is usually touching my forehead

Stuff I do
-Ive used like 3 different face soaps for long periods of time. The first was a noxema tub of white stuff that smells strongly medicated, that stuff dried out my mair when I washed my face with it. the I used some apricot srub with sand in it that brashed up my face, so that was unpleasant. I now use neutrogena, but thats not doing much.
-I wash my face about 4 times a day, 3 times with face soap, and if Im at school/work, regular soap
-I use firming cream at nights like 3 days out of the week
- I did use proactive for 3 weeks, I saw some slight results, but not enough change to push me to use it more often.

your suggestions? Soaps? medication? toners?

stop yourself from touching your face during the day

YOu're washing your face too much which is very harsh on your skin. Your hair is greasy. Your pillow cases are greasy. You touch your face too much. You don't drink enough WATER. Your bedsheets are greasy. You have a fat girlfriend who likes to lick your face after having had her breakfast of pizza and babies.

op here
-My hair isnt too greasy, I use light serum thats more like a lotion, not any gels
-I wash my pillow cases once a week
-I drink plenty of water in bottles
- I do touch my face, but mostly my neck and lips out of habit

I deleted my other comment cause I dont think it was too clear, but thanks for the info.

Also, is there another 3 step formula like proactive, but works better? Like a general consensus or something everyone agrees about here?

Proactive is just a celebrity endorsed bullshit face washing thing. There is nothing special about it that will get rid of acne. Accutane works like magic though.

op here , after looking on it on wikipedia

>In addition to possible anxiety, several studies have shown that male patients taking isotretinoin show increased sensitivity to testosterone, and related psychological effects such as unusual irritability, over-inflated self-confidence and increased sexual desire.

>over-inflated self-confidence and increased sexual desire.

wow, I think Ill take it just for that

when washing your face, use a wash rag, something with alot of ruffage that works in deep, dont hurt yourself by scrubing too hard.

Stop jerking.

you're washing your face way too many times a day.
reduce it to two or three times.

Try to avoid soaps and get some cleanser without foam/soap,so it wouldn't dry the fuck out of your face, which causes more oil production.

you can try using clay masks once or twice a week,if you want.

All those serious side effects to accutane are way overblown and most have a very low prevalence. I took it for 7 months and was fine, now my acne is completely gone and doesn't recur. I sound like a commercial, but seriously, any 'breakouts' I get are one to two small pimples.

1. soaps are good and well, but you need to be sure to use a moisturizer every single time you wash your face.

2. don't touch your face! that includes zits!
>> Anonymous
Wash your face once in the morning, and then once before you go to bed. Buy a natural cleanser, the one I use has Tea Tree Oil and Chamomile, and has no fragrance or colour that would irritate my skin. Thats the first step, as cleansing gets the oil and bacteria out of the way.

Then apply a 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide gel, which can be easily bought at any chemist. This kills all bacteria in and on the skin, as germs cannot live in an oxygenated environment.

After that, apply a moisturiser, something without added colour or fragrance, that hydrates your skin after the peroxide.

Do this for one month, and your skin will greatly improve. No need for medication or soaps. NEVER wash your face with soap. If your face gets really oily during the day, buy some blotting paper and use that. Never scrub your face with apricot shit or a rag, it will only open and irritate your pores. Good luck, you look like you might actually be attractive under all that shit on your face.

op here, seriously? ive heard some connections to it...

>>410912
I already use a firming cream to reduce pore size, but I might look into a mask, though thats like alast resort or something, Im really not thrilled by the idea

>>410913

well, Im prolly gonna see a dermatologist soon, but Id rather not take more medication

>>410915

moisturizer? I used to put alot of lotion on my face after washing at nights, but I dont think it helped much, and I did it for a few weeks.

Also, my mother is hellbent on giving me everything Avon, I swear to god that stuff is useless. Is there any actual usefullness to Avon cream s and soaps?

>>410928

thanks for the info, Ill have to look into an all herbal treatment to see if its right for me, I also do have some benzoyl peroxide gel, also, I do blotch my face with an absorbent paper towel, but my face gets bright red and irratated

Also, 1 more question.

Does goldbond powder work good acne, I want to mainly use it for my neck and shoulders. I heard this stuff works, but anyone have first hand experience?

you dont really need any fancy crap, most remedies are snake oil. you should cut out the soda, start exercising, and just wash your face with a cleanser. post in a month with results.

1. Yer cute. Stop worryin' so much.

2. You're washing your face too damn much. XD Try the Oil Cleansing Method... if you don't see results in a week or two, start spot treating with tea tree or rosemary essential oil. If you use the OCM, then use witch hazel for toner and apply a decent moisturiser [read: not regular lotion], it pretty much has to work.

3. Change your pillowcase every three-ish days, and make sure you're drinking enough water. At least 64 oz.

Also, yeah, I guess Ill have to hunt down some face moisturiazer at a walgreens or something.

Also, what about.....eyebrows? Ive never had anyone tell me anything about them before

Don't use regular soap on your face. The perfume and cleaning ingredients can easily dry out your face and create irritation, leading to dry pores and pimples.

Stick with a simple routine of using skin tonic day and night and moistorize after showering. Your skin doesn't look THAT bad.

yeah, I kinda feel Ive done common routines long enough, I just tired of may face being spotty, oily and with huge pores.

OP, does having sex affect complexion?

Two things worked VERY well for me, and my acne is pretty bad if I let it go:

1. Rubbing alcohol. Every morning, wet a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol, and after taking a few deep breaths, swap your entire face and neck. You have to hold your breath the entire time, or the fumes might knock you out.

2. Dove soap.

The first is the strongest way, but keep in mind it'll dry out your skin, so it's a double edged sword: your skin is dry, but there's no acne.
>> Anonymous
>>412643Rubbing alcohol

okay seriously, wtf? No matter how dry skin gets, it will produce more oil to counter the dryness

How do you wash your face? Do you use some cloth, rub that washing oil in, or just apply and splah water?

I tie a plastic ice pack around my face. Afterwards I stand in front of a chrome and acrylic Washmobile bathroom sink and stare at my reflection with the ice pack still on. I take the ice pack mask off and use a deep pore cleanser lotion, then an herb mint facial masque which I leave on for ten minutes. Then I wash the facial massage off with a spearmint face scrub. In the shower I use a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. On weekends or before a date I prefer to use the Greune Natural Revitalizing Shampoo, the conditioner and the Nutrient Complex. These are formulas that contain D panthenol, a vitamin B complex factor; polysorbate 80, a cleansing agent for the scalp; and natural herbs. Once out of the shower and toweled dry I press a hot towel against my face for two minutes to soften abrasive hair. Then I always slather on a moisturizer and let it soak in for a minute. You can rinse it off or keep it on and apply a shaving cream over it – preferably with a brush, which softens the beard as it lifts the whiskers – which I've found makes removing the hair easier. Leave the sideburns and chin for last, since these whiskers are tougher and need more time to soften. You should use an aftershave lotion with little or no alcohol. Never use cologne on your face, since the high alcohol content dries your face out and makes you look older. One should use an alcohol free antibacterial toner with a water moistened cotton ball to normalize the skin. Applying a moisturizer is the final step. Splash on water before applying an emollient lotion to soften the skin and seal in the moisture. Next apply Gel Appaisant which is an excellent, soothing skin lotion. If the face seems dry and flaky, use a clarifying lotion that removes flakes and uncovers fine skin. Then apply an anti aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing "protective" lotion.

ln the morning, if my face is a little pufffy, I'll put on an icepack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now. After I remove the icepack, I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower, I use a water-activated gel cleanser. And on the face, an exfoliating gelscrub. Then I apply an herb mint facial mask,
which leave on fourteen minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine.

I always use an aftershave lotion with little or no alcohol,
because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm, followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

my acne was pretty bad.
i've found the best thing to keep the outbreaks down is triclear.
almost like gay ass proactive,
three step. but it works pretty well,
and drinking a shitload of water helps out more than i thought,
vitamin A pills help with the redness alittle.

mostly dont over wash,
and something else dont get down on yourself about it.
keep a good attitude and surprisingly that affects the look of your skin.

Good luck OP!

im not reading through all this
but here is what helped me get rid of my horrible acne. now its like normal skin and clear.
1. DONT TOUCH YOUR FACE EVNE IF IT IS TO SQUEEZE OR POP STUFF. you're going to end up scarring it so it'll look gross even if your skin does clear up
2. dont over wash your face; it removes moisture which irritates skin, just use face scrub in the morning and face wash maybe 2 more times a day.
3. i used a 2.5% benzol peroxide forumla morning and evening religiously. applied it all over my face. like tons of it. at first it was dry then it was fine. use a moisturizer after it if helps sooth skin. the less irritated your skin the better.
4. no sugarry foods.
5. no oily foods.
6. if you're working out use a handtowel to dry your face so the sweat doesn't dry over pores.
7. for a lot of people hormones directly affect acne, if you feel thats your case then you can get your hormone levels checked out. but even in that case, its hte lack of jerking off or sex that would cause acne. so fap away. i sure as hell didn't stop.

for moisturizer use something with vitamin b; but basically stay healthy, eat your greens and make sure you dont have deficiencies. you seriously have to follow one routine to the mark for atleast 2-3 months to really see changes. once it clears up you can just wash face morning and evening and its more than fine. it took about 4 months for my skin to clear. and even now i use benzol peroxide 2-3 times a week, and scrub/wash daily.

oh also, if you have a lot of scars already, you can try using miderma but thats pretty pricey.
