I have access to a exercise machine, the name escapes me. The proper use of the machine is to hold 2 straps attached to cords, attached to weights over your chest from a standing position, and lean forward with the extra weight. Like a Standing sit up.

My question is, if I used this machine while using punching motions (slowly, with a high weight) could I increase muscle strength in my arms?

Probably.
-But- you should look in the directions of the machine or on the company's website to avoid ending up with a back injury.

I asked a instructor about this, and he said he wasn't sure about how much it would help my arms, but he was sure it wouldn't hurt my back.

It's really intense. doing 30 "punches" with each arm at 90 lbs makes them feel like wet noodles. But after about 10 minutes, they feel faster and lighter.

Well, all I know is you have to be able to thrust your hand into fire to learn the shining finger.

Why did you put the King of hearts crest into that picture?
