Hey /fit/. I'm looking to lose some weight then possibly get into weight lifting later on.

So I went and bought the Mod. 1 from trainforstrength.com about two months ago, it was $100 and I had the extra cash. What's this board's opinion of the workouts? I've lost a total of about 14 pounds, and I've noticed I've gotten stronger, but my diet is **** so I know I'm not getting the weight loss I want. I'm also having trouble sticking with the three workouts a week, which is my own fault and is just a will power issue.

I plan on completely re-doing my diet. I'm gonna start eating mainly chicken, ground turkey, and lean beef for protein, a ton of vegetables for everything else, and oatmeal and fruit for snacks in between meals. I've already cut soda and sweets for the most part, but I do indulge every now and then.

I wanna lose a good 40-50 pounds yet, since I'm 6'0" and 228lbs as it is. Should I incorporate some running or biking or something on off days? And is there anything else I should focus on with my diet?

Do HIIT (High interval intensity training). Basically it's sprinting at 100% for about 15-30 seconds and then slow jogging for 15-30 seconds. Repeat as many times as possible. (For me when I started i could do 5 rounds and that was it, i was wrecked)

If you cbf counting, like me, i just use a football field- sprint the long length, slow jog the short length.

HIIT increases your metabolism for a full 24hr period after your session, so you are burning more fat throughout the day for only a short 5-10 minute workout.
