First time /fit/ter, I want to lose some chub!
Where do I start?
I generally try to eat fairly healthy, lots of fruit & tons of water, and go on a lot of walks, but I don't really exercise a whole lot aside from that.

5'7 1/2
160 lbs

Pic is me cosplaying as Commander Keen ... probably one of my only proper body shots.

Lots of fruit can be bad sometimes depending on exactly HOW much fruit you're eating. Fruit has a lot of sugar in it (not refined and horrible for you, but the carbs can hurt you if you're trying to lose weight). Keep drinking the water.

Change the walks to jogs and runs. Supplement some lifting possibly in there (please don't say, "I don't want to get all muscley". Trust me, you won't. Working the muscles that are already there are going to make you look more fit).

I don't know what else you're really eating, but more exercise is going to help you regardless.

Gotta increase the activity. If you aren't eating a lot of bullshit, you just need to add on some exercise. Find a friend who wants to start running too. Do it!

Fruit is nature's candy. Fructose, the sugar in fruit, can be quite bad. Some fruit should be eaten on account of its vitamins, but it is not a freebie zero-cal food like celery and cucumbers. The portions must be watched. Certainly, don't eat any near bedtime.

Also, try to count calories, and strive for 1500 at your bodyweight. No more and no less.

You need to work up a sweat a few times a week.

Thanks guys.
Yeah, I know my exercise side of things wasn't up to par. I'll definitely be going on some jogs and runs in the near future, and get some weights :)

I don't eat too MUCH fruit, usually just for a snack or a banana in the morning, or something to pep me up. I generally eat granola bars, bagels, salads, veggie soup ... the occasional pizza pop (not good!), but I try to keep it balanced.

Any moar exercise tips would be great!

You better pony up then to prove you're not the real retard.

Fruits fine, same as anything in excess it's bad, but its all relatively low GI carbs, so it doesn't spike your blood sugar and cause insulin rushes like processed sugars do. Just watch your calories and be a bit more active, add an extra 30 minutes of cardio in a day or something (jogging, cycling, whatever) and see how it goes from there.

I don't need to prove that I'm a retard, because you're cosplay retardness is overwhelming enough for the both of us.

Follow the advice of people in the beginning of the thread. The rest of these people suck cocks.

Lifting is also very good for making women look better. The ones who get posted in /fit/ threads and look scary are usually jacked on steroids and have to eat a shitload to get like that.

You don't need to focus a lot on cardio if your diet and resistance program is properly dialled in. A tight, nutritious and hypocaloric diet is pretty much all you need to lose weight, and weight training to protect your metabolically active muscle mass. Drop those calories like a bad habit.

When the fuck did /fit start offering better advice than, "You're a faggot" and "go do squatz lulz"?
