Hey /fit/, I'm 19 and for my entire life I'm done nothing but drink soda, eat snack foods, and I've only eaten REAL food at dinner-time (rarely vegetables anymore). However, I've remained skinny and in good shape due to my extremely fast metabolism, but I'm really afraid that when it goes away I'm going to swell up like the girl in Willy Wonka.

I also have a huge problem, no matter how much I eat, I'm ALWAYS hungry. I don't starve myself, I eat whenever I get hungry, I get dehydrated easy, so I also drink whenever I can...it really pisses my mom off because she spends over 200 dollars every week shopping because of me.

WTF is going on and what can I do to fix myself?

eat 5 or 6 smaller meals throughout the day instead of 3 big ones

Try different types of water, even if you have to bottle it.

Consider the PUR water filter thing if you're limited to tap, it may get the taste to acceptable levels.

Drink water when you're hungry. Eat foods w/complex carbs. Spread your meals out to 5-6 a day.

I had the same problem, drink COLD water, like, really cold. keep some water bottels in the back of the fridge and drink that. The colder the water, the less you can taste it.

Broccoli and normal green peas are the only vegetables I've ever really been able to eat a good amount of without puking from distaste.

I drink whatever I find: snapples, soda, orange juice. I'm always thirsty, my throat is always dry...t_t

I wouldn't kill youself over it. I was the same way -- now I'm 26 and still very thin. My secret? I don't eat as much as most Americans, and I don't eat junk food. It's not really that hard.

Also, the sooner you switch to diet soda, the sooner you'll start enjoying the taste.

Drink less soda.

Soda actually dehydrates more than it hydrates you. You might as well be drinking ocean water. just drink water instead. And if water tastes too bad (lol wtf, srsly) for you, then find some juice (good juice, not sugary juice) or something.

Also, eat less, spread meals. You don't have to eat whenever you are hungry. If you stop eating like a pig, then you will stop being hungry as a pig after a while.

Diet soda causes problems with my stomach to which point that I'll refrain from explaining.

I'll give some of this advice a shot, thanks for the help everybody. I'll be back in a week or so with some results hopefully!

I don't have a problem with water, but it helps to have alot of ice in the water I love crunching down a big glass of water with tons of ice.

Carry a bottle of water with you everywhere you go. I actually decided to quit soda cold turkey about a year ago when I realized that I was consuming a pound of sugar a week. I kept a bottle of water in every room (multiple bottles in several rooms), specifically within reach whenever I was at the computer or TV. It worked, although I did have to maintain a habit of refilling bottles whenever they were at less than half their max capacity.

Soda and bad foods contain HFCS - that stuff makes you feel less hungrier and want to eat more.

Stop eating food with High-Fructose Corn Syrup.

Buy a fridge with filtered water and an ice maker. That is the only way I've been able to start drinking water.\

Your weight might be down, but your body is fucked and out of whack from that shitty diet.

Clean up that diet and you will feel tons better: sleep/skin/breath/etc. Your body will love you for it.
