So I eat stupidly healthy, usually twice a day. I take vitamins and eat mostly fruit, dairy, rye and protein and avoid wheat due to allergies. Not enough vegetables lately because of my living situation. No matter how active I am over any given time, my weight keeps slowly creeping up.

I've gained 50 lbs in 5 years, more than half of those spent dealing with illness. I've recently recovered and would like to reverse my weight gain.

Here's the problem. At the end of the day, I'm exhausted and irritable, making sunshine and post-work exercise less enticing than it should be, and I abhor high impact exercises because I jiggle, and it hurts like hell.

I call on thee, /fit/, to suggest a reliable method of doing it right and keeping it interesting. Also of interest: What am I doing wrong?

P.S. I could be eating insufficiently/stressed/in a relationship where I'm told my body is great and not to worry about my weight (even though my tits are beginning to go south).

I'm 5'8", 195 lbs, most of it in my belly, back and thighs, just like my dad.

You need to eat 6 times a day with around 2000-2500 calories.

first off, by 'eating stupidly healthy twice a day' do you mean you only eat twice a day? if so eat more smaller meals instead of fewer big ones

as for working out no matter what it will probably suck at first you just need to buckle down and do it and once you see results use that motivation to keep going

Thank you, I will strive for this.

No, I mean twice a day, high quality, minimally processed food, and probably much less than 2000 calories in total. Hence the 'stupid', I suppose. But I'm looking to change!

Is there a formula for switching up different kinds of exercises over the course of the week?

You are taking more in than you are burning, its a simple fact.

Set sail for fail.

since i obviously fail at eating, wouldn't exercise have made some difference in the past? because it hasn't.

I believe I know what I'm doing wrong now. Still not sure how I'm going to go about exercising.

Anyway, I'm going to bed. See you in the morning and thanks for helping me.

Losing weight is about 70% diet, 30% exercise.

Eating twice a day is your problem. Your metabolism must be slower than a child nailed to a fencepost.
