Does taller=stronger? In terms of limits and in general.
>> Anonymous
Yes, but can be outweighed by other factors
>> Anonymous
Short people are usually stronger when it comes to pure strength. Weightlifters and gymnasts are often short.

In sports like rugby weight is more useful than pure strength, so you'll see taller players.

The "scale rule" is that if you scale something up, the size is increased in three dimensions, but the strength is only increased in two

no. Being taller means having longer limbs and longer "levers," which can make lifting much more difficult

Shorties are usually stronger and healthier. They live longer than tall people

Would someone who is 6'0 weighing 115 lbs, be stronger than someone who is 5'5 weighing 170, and is built? No.

Yeh... a long life of being a short-ass :P

A lot of squat, strong short guys can outpower the bigger chaps in raw lifts... but in a sport like foosball or rugby, it pays to be big, the weight obviously being a lot more useful in motion than static power.

This guy was ±5'3" I think

I can tell you that as far as numbers go, shorter people will usually be able to beat out taller people.

As a tall person, when I squat or what have you, I may be using the same amount of weight, but I'm doing alot more work (in the scientific sense of the word) than a shorter person, because I'm carrying the same weight a greater distance.

Out.

So how do you create a body builder that is tall? Easy. You wait until you stop growing to work out, probably at the age of 16 is good time. Bodybuilders that are short started out early.

Too late

Shorter people have more relative strength.

That's not true at all. Statistically the tall do better in life and have a higher quality of life, I don't think there's any conclusive study on height vs longevity.

Franco started bodybuilding after his boxing career I think. There are very few especially tall bodybuilders

there is so much bullshit in this thread. thanks for reminding why i never come to /fit/
>> Anonymous
Bullshit. If you're short it's because of genetics and your diet during childhood.

Then can you enlighten us with your wisdom? If not, then GTFO and good riddance. Either make /fit/ a better place or STFU.
