Sup /fit/.
Obese turned skinnyfat here, went to the gym for my first lifting session today. I could only manage to bench 10kg on each side for my 5x5.

BAAAAWWWWW

pic unrelated.

the bar was propably 20kg so that's 40kg.

It's sad but I assure it's completely normal.

When I started I could barely lift 5kg on each side.

88 lbs

When I started I could barely lift the pole itself. Just keep at it and you'll get to the higher weights eventually.

I can see that you can write "40kg in lbs" in google.

Congratulations!

3rd week for me and I'm still on 30kg. Slow but steady...

Seriously, don't worry about looking bad in the gym just take it easy.

It's better to lift small than to hurt yourself badly.

Last night I'm pretty sure I was the only person speaking English in the gym. It was full of these Italian guys who were all yelling 'It's all you, one more rep!' in Italian and doing quarter reps of huge weights.

Then they left all of the weights on the floor.
