Okay.

I love working out, but I hate dieting. I'm not ashamed to say that I love eating tasty foods, and most tasty foods are generally unhealthy. The most unhealthy foods I eat are foods of a fried chicken variety, like wings and chicken sandwhiches (not exclusively, mind you-also, in b4 nigra)

I'm wondering how much weight I can lose by building muscle on a high protein diet with frequent cardio. I never drink sodas or anything too sugary (my only vice is sweet tea, but even then I don't drink it much unless I go out).

I know that muscle development boosts metabolism and that enough muscle will help burn fat, so that's kind of what I'm basing this on.

Boy you from the Souf? LOL of course you are, no one drinks sweet tea except if you got that Souf in the mouf.

You're question is vague, supply us with more details and stats about yourself and I'll be glad to answer.

Chicken, if it isn't covered in tons of sauce or bread or shit like that, is damn good for you. It is a lean meat.

For the diet part...

Just learn to cook healthy and prepare your own food, so you have pinpoint precision on every single ingredient you want. And the better you get at it, the better your food will taste.

Say goodbye to fried chicken and hello to grilled chicken breasts.

muscle does burn more than fat, but not by much. the cardio will help but you'll plateau sooner than most people.. if you still want to lose weight beyond what you lose doing that, you're going to have to change your diet.

Muscle slows metabolism, you've got it backwards. Basically, the larger you get (muscle wise), the more efficient your metabolism becomes, and the less weight your body will want to drop.

Now, WORKING muscles burns tons of calories, but HAVING/BUILDING large muscles makes your body require more calories and it puts the calories to use for your muscles. I know it sounds a little backwards, but trust me when I say the more you work out, the slower your metabolism actually becomes. You want to strike a healthy medium between cardio and diet (wholesome, small meals 5-7 times per day) to lose weight.

What a lot of people don't understand is that making your muscles larger does not necessarily mean you're burning more calories. USING your muscles burns the calories. You use A LOT of muscles during jogging and your body stays aerobic for a very long time, that's why it's so effective for fat loss.

And, yeah, your diet is generally shit. Mind you, you WILL lose weight eating that stuff IF you work out often enough, but it's far from the most effective way to lose weight, just like it's not very effective to only diet and not exercise. You need both.

Only breasts and tenderloins. Wings and dark meat are terrible for you, even if not fried.

Do HIIT. Increasing the intensity always ratchets up your metabolism.

oh god.

"The primary reason dark meat has been labeled bad - besides a large contingency of political agenda - is saturated fat content. Unfortunately, the general public was considered too dumb to understand the difference between saturated verses other fats. I cannot accept that.

"Dark Meats
Dark meats simply have more myoglobin proteins, the magic stuff that ships oxygen to the muscle cells.

Dark meats must use myoglobins as they transfer oxygen more efficiently to the muscles than glycogen. Muscles used more frequently, get to be dark. This is why non-flying poultry drumsticks are dark meat, while breast meat is white.

When dark meat is cooked it turns the myoglobins to metmyoglobins, which is brown/gray. Metmyoglobins are very high in iron (albeit there is not that much in dark meat in the first place).

White Meat
White meat gets the 'juice' through glycogen. Glycogen is a polysaccharide of glucose, an animal starch. Animal starch is stored primarily in the liver and broken down into glucose when needed by the white muscle.

Nutritional Comparison
Dark meats tend to contain more zinc, riboflavin, niacin, thiamin, vitamins B6 and B12, amino acids, iron than white meat. Dark beef meat contains about 11 times more zinc than tuna, and about 3 times as much iron than raw spinach. Chicken dark meat contain vitamins A, K, B6, B12, niacin, folate, pantothenic acid, minerals as selenium, phosphorus and zinc.

Even the fats in most of the dark meats have healthy parts. They contain Omega-3, and Omega-6 fatty acids, and other ‘healthy’ fats.

It is the saturated fat content which lowers the true quality of dark meat."

you are so wrong you make my head hurt. you've contradicted yourself about twice and you're wrong about the efficiency of cardio. gtfo.
