Hey /fit/, this probably has nothing to do with what you commonly see here, but I'll give it a try.Nine months ago I drastically changed my eating habits and got in shape. I lost 45 pounds and recently startedworking out (I used the burn the fat feed the muscle book, btw, thanks). I eat 5 times a day, lots of protein, varied diet.Six months ago I started noticing a significant hair loss from diffuse areas in my head, I also noticed that every single hair I lost had a very weird aspect: A little white bulb at the root, followed by a seemingly normal but short hair patch, followed by another white bulb, followed by the rest of the hair. Both of these bulbs are removed if you pass your finger over them, they're not solid. I went to a dermatologist, he took a look at my hair and scalp, and he said it was dandruff. It struck me as odd because I don't have have that kind of excessive dandruff at all. He told me to order some special shampoo, which I have been using daily.Six months later, even though I am losing less hair than before, every single hair I shed still looks like that, and I'm beginning to fear this may be a serious issue triggered by changing my habits, like some fungual or bacterial infection or something that the dermatologist did not care enough to see.Anyone think this is possible? Have you ever seen anything like this and can shed some light? Should I go see another dermatologist or keep this guy's treatment to see if it gets better? Pic of hair included (It's kinda blurry, best I could do with my scanner. Ignore the little white dots around it, they're from the BG image).
