I've been wanting to try one of these right before a 5k race. Tomorrow will be my first chance in a while. Should I do it, or are these things just shit?

may as well save a of of money and just get some caffeine pills and b vitamins

however, in all fairness I should say that this and its competitors actually do work a little bit better than the vitamin/pill combo, and they are a bit more convenient.

This stuff has Niacin(Vitamin B3) in it. Normally your veins and arteries are tight, but this makes them all elasticy. On the plus side, you might faint when you run that race.

Its mostly b complex vitamins with some caffeine and a placebo effect if you believe so. It doesnt hurt, but dont expect it to be like red bull, guarana, or other direct-effect ergogens. Good luck

Running a race with one of those things would be horrible. I'd imagine that you would die soon after the first mile.

lolwut?

Caffeine is a well-known and safe endurance booster, in fact, excessive levels are banned in the olympics.

Hell, I rode my bike 25 miles on a 25/400/325 ratio ECA stack, and I had zero problems. And believe me, ephedrine is waaaay less safe than caffeine + b vitamins.

Fuck that shit. Eat the right fucking food and you won't have a problem. Well, maybe you will, but that shit is useless trash no matter what.

Of course the caffeine is fine, I mean all the sugar and shit in Red Bull and those other soda/energy drinks.

Apparently, you've never heard of carb loading.

Endurance races + simple sugars = good.

Fructose isn't exactly the optimum sugar of choice, but it definitely doesn't hurt (in the short run).

yea i was watching the marathon runners and right before the race, they were all swallowing sugar.

They should've had glucose tablets on them.

carb load night before, i know some people that eat Gu if you've ever seen that stuff, you eat/drink (i guess, it's sort of gooey..hence the name) 15 minutes before a run and it kicks in the middle or some shit like that. but i've always eat the same thing cause i know my body is used to it and nothing bad will happen, spaghetti and italian sausage and a salad, sometimes pizza.

Red Bull is better for you and tastes better.
