Weightlifting and DOMS Anonymous
yo /fit/ fags, I want to know if you should be getting DOMS 1-2days after you lift every time or not.

If you dont get DOMS 1-2 days after then does that mean you need to lift more?

depends where you are in your training.

If you are JUST starting, yes, everytime.

After a while you will be more well adjusted and not get sore, though you will feel weaker the next day since your muscles are still exhausted, just not inflamed.

After a while again, you will begin to plateau, which means you will be doing weights even more heavy on your muscle and you'll begin to feel sore again.

that's my experience anyway

DOMS does NOT = hypertrophy.

I increase weight and/or reps regularly and rarely experience doms, except after leg day occasionally.

Just make sure you are eating enough.

op here thanks for the response

I've been doing 3x12 for many different muscle groups 2-3 times a day now for a month.

At the start it was like every month but now it's random. I've been increasing my weight accordingly so that the last few rep on the last set are almost impossible but still i can't seem to get DOMS.

You should get the MG grade Dom imo.

yeah. It's usually after a month or two that DOMS starts to go away.

op here,

Thanks I was beginning to worry that I'm not doing it properly. My muscles are still tired and weak but they aren't sore.
