well if you're a little on the heavy side, maybe a good solid steel frame would be good, over the lighter shit like aluminum, carbon fiber, etc. SURLY, makes good frames in this realm.
gel saddles are not the *best* for riding, especially if for exercise - leather is ideal, as it will mold to the shape of you. and if you're doin this for exercise, you don't want to put a lot of weight on your butt anyway, you wanna put it on your legs.
brooks is a highly regarded maker of leather saddles. if you're worried about your genitals getting smooshed, there are saddles that have cutaways that remove some stress from that area.
