Opiates. I have a few questions.

I have had morphine, tramadol, and vicodin. Tramadol gave me WAY more eurphoria than any of these? Why? it's the least powerful one. And it lasted longer and made me feel great. good euphora for 4-5 hours. I took 150 mg of tramadol. 3 pills.

Compared to 25 mg of vicodin. 5 pills and 30 mg morphine. 2 pills.

Morphine has something like 25% bioavailability when taken orally, so that obviously wouldn't do much for you. That said, different opiates have high affinity to bind with different opiate receptors. Tramadol, in addition to having partial agonism of the ?-opioid receptor, effects noradrenergic and serotonergic systems in ways that aren't fully understood. What you're describing is probably just be a personal nuance of effectiveness.

That drug, for whatever reason, is very effective for YOU.

Everyone is different. Your particular brain chemistry is going to vary slightly from everyone else's. It appears to vary in a way that just so happens to make tramadol particularly effective for you. I'm just guessing though. I know tramadol is metabolized by a specific liver enzyme, it might be that your liver just has more of that enzyme than most peoples.

Codeine works in almost the same way, it's actually inert until it's metabolized by the liver, and some people genetically lack the enzyme that is responsible for metabolizing it, so they could take pounds of codeine and it wouldn't do anything for them.

Well I read it's also an anti depressant. could this mean that anti depressants could also give me this eurphoria?

It's not an antidepressant in the sense that it's not used to treat depression. It's not an S*RI, MAOI, tricyclic, or tetracyclic antidepressant. It's a synthetic opiate.

And no, you wont get high off anything I listed.

Isn't it an SNRI?

No, it's not. I have no idea where you heart that.

Tramadol does have mild SNRI properties. Which is why you cannot take it with another anti depressant, because of Serotonin Syndrome.
