why am i always so tired, /fit/?

i get enough exercise, i eat fairly healthily, i don't stay in bed all morning, and still when i go to bed i can't sleep. it usually takes me about 3 - 4 hours to fall asleep after i lie down, and then i'm tired all day. it's been like this since i was a kid! i don't think i've gotten a good night's sleep once in my life.

is there ANYTHING i can do before trying sleeping pills or something?

1. Cut out caffiene ENTIRELY. No chocolate, no coffee, no tea, no cola. Cut out all refined sugars.

2. Make absolutely sure you do not have any systemic infections or parasites that have gone unnoticed. (a few blood/stool tests should clear it up)

3. If lack of sleep is the problem, buy a melatonin supplement and see if you can't improve the quality of your sleep a little. I use it every so often myself.

Could be a hyper thyroid condition. Are you often/always cold?
