been running and weightlifting for a while now, however ive discovered that my lower back and thighs are not as strong as i would like (that is not strong at all), so i would like to know if /fit/ knows any good exercises to help strengthen these areas...

I would skip the squatz and instead do the machines that target each one of the areas. You will see faster results and do less harm to your body than squatz.
