hi has anyone tried the 500 calories per day diet? i know operah did it consumed 500 calories in liquid form and lost weight in 4 months.. has anyone tried this 500 calorie diet per day and lost weight?

Don't do something stupid like that. It will lead to a severe catabolic state. Also you'll be so hungry and thinking of food you'll fail. Don't ever starve yourself. Find out how many calories it takes to maintain your weight (either using an online calculator or track your eating over time). Then just subtract 500 or so calories per day from that.

You can do this, or you can calculate the number of calories your body needs (use a BMR calculator) and eat that amount, then exercise for 30-60 minutes a day. The final result will be weight loss since you will burn more calories than you take in, but you won't be left feeling cheated out of a meal or anything.

500 calories isn't even close to enough for any person. Minimum is 1500. 1000, maybe, for a day or two. 500 for any length of time will screw you up.
