Dear /fit/,

I feel like a failure. I'm 6'1" and 187 pounds, and need to loose major pounds. I need to change my eating habbits, and all around living habits.

Can anyone give me suggestion on re structuring my life to get my life back in order?

Foods I like: granola, fruits.

Also, have a Y membership.

You're only like 10 lb over. Just do the daily hour cardio hour lifting if you want to get into shape.

Just relegate yourself to more natural foods. Fruits, veggies, unprocessed lean meats (skinless boneless chicken breast FTW), oatmeal, whole wheat products, etc. Fish is also good for necessary fats, but you can get those as supplements if you don't care for fish.

Just eat those things, do cardio, lift weights, and you'll be right as rain in no time.

You're certainly no overweight, probably on the high end of normal. I'm 6' 215lbs and I know I'm not that fat, so someone like 40 less then me just isn't fat. IF you think you are that probably means you don't have any bulk which means you look like a saggy kinda skinny dude.

Again, you don't know the guys build, body fat percentage or anything. None of us are able to give good advice based on height and weight alone, except in extreme cases.

5'10" 175 could easily be overweight for quite a few people.

How about you shed the fat while gaining lean muscle? It's actually possible. Shocking, I know.
