I have bad posture, what exercises can I do to make it better? If I work on my back, does it mean I have to work on my ab muscles too?

Walk around with a better posture.

Hes right, thats the most effective solution.

If you want to exercise, bench press is hands down the best exercise for posture. Also shoulder presses and lat pulls couldnt hurt... well they could if you dont have good form heh.

You don't really have to work on the abs. They don't really serve a functional purpose in terms of affecting your posture.

The lat pulldown is your best bet for strengthening your back. Doing sets with the different width of grips will work out most of your back muscles

are you fucking nuts? The abs are the antagonist of the back muscles.
You can be strong as hell in your back, without abs you will have shitty posture. Not to say you'll like an idiot.

OP here, this is why I asked, I've heard that you have to work both the muscles you want as well its opposite muscles. In fact, when I fix my posture, I do feel a pull in my abs as well. But I've heard conflicting info on this, so I wanted to clear it up.

I don't hunch my back, but I used to be in gymnastics, so I hold my back fairly arched. Anyone have advice to help better my posture?

My posture and sense of balance is so bad I couldn't do squats. :( Not OP, btw.

sit on a stool. You'll be forced to sit up straight, because it's extremely noticeable when you're slouching.
