Bullshit. Calorie expenditure depends on your heart rate, and how much you weigh. If I jog for twenty minutes, and I'm 110 pounds, I'm going to burn a hell of a lot less calories than someone who's 250 pounds.
OP, the smartest way to do cardio is to calculate your target heart rate, and keep it there via some sort of aerobic exercise, for 30 minutes or so. Just look it up.
