Let's talk weird illnesses or weird diagnosises.

A couple years ago, I started having really weird cluster headaches along the top of the left half of my head. I asked my roommate if he knew anything about weird headaches. He said if I had it longer for a week, that I oughta see a doctor. So I went to my school's student health center. The doctor there couldn't find anything wrong with me, so he just told me to take a bunch of ibuprofen and come back if it got worse.

It didn't get worse, but it never went away. So after a month, I was home for Christmas break, and my mom decides maybe it's something with my vision, so she takes me to an optometrist. No vision problems, though I did end up getting new glasses out of the deal. Saw another (real) doctor, and he told me the same thing the first doctor did. I was freaking out, because I thought it might be a brain tumor or something. I told the doctor this, and so he had me get an MRI just to be safe. Nothing.

Finally, after Christmas break, I go back to my school's student health center, and right away the nurse tells me I have a sinus infection. And I've had it for 6 weeks.

tl;dr: I had a sinus infection and thought it was a brain tumor.

i have a condition called joint hypermobility syndrome. Its a connective tissue disorder. It's not too bad, just some bendy fingers. But, it makes it much more likely you're going to get injured and suffer long term consequences because of them. If i had known about it earlier, i would have stayed away from some of the high impact sports i took part in but its too late now and im suffering because of it.

Also, some people have it worse than others. Some people have such horrible connective tissue that they can stretch their skin far far from their body and their cartiledge/ligaments are deteriorating constantly to the point of random dislocations.

Also, some people who have it bad suffer from aneurysms, prolapses rectums, hernias and the such because the tissue simply gives up on them.

thankfully i just suffer the double jointed part which can be corrected through muscle conditioning and prolotherapy.

I hate doctors.

The only thing they ever tell you is go home, take some analgesic and come back if it doesn't get better.
