Hello /fit/

I've decided to man up and seriously get fit this fall/winter/spring season.

However I've also simultaneously decided to get my career started (just graduated Uni) and will settle for no less than a job in my field which pays enough for me to move out from under my parents roof.

Foreseeing the two goals might conflict, I've considered just purchasing Tony Horton's fabled 10 minute workout and seeing if it really works.

Given my situation, should I go ahead and do this or just save my money and the blow to my ego for falling for a corny infomercial?

Keep in mind, regardless of if I buy the videos or not, I fully intend to jog around my neighborhood, either early morning or late night, daily. And should I get a free gym membership hookup I'm waiting on, I intend to hit the treadmills followed by the sauna ritually.

Thank you for your thoughts.

Why I haven't considered that advantageous over the 10 minute workout is of course the time constraints.

The key is that in order to launch my career and secure the salary I need to buy my independence, I anticipate my time will be at a premium. Thus I'm looking for worthwhile results in a minimum time frame.

Thank you however. I will consider the p90x as an alternative should I never really be as busy as I think I will be.

So, just in case the gym hookup falls through, does the 10 minute workout not work??

Just trying to cover all the bases here. If its worth my time (all 10 minutes of it) I'll get it as it would be cheaper then the membership but adhere to my time concerns.

And I do realize for the long term, nothing beats a good gym membership and an eye on nutrition. However, for the next 6 months, I'd like to have an option where I'd see some results with minimum time invested. Then the membership and healthy eating will follow once I'm on my financial feet.

Torrent P90X.... its good stuff. But won't get you as ripped as these hardcore 5x5'ers.

You hang around at 4chan. You cannot be earning >$20/hr. Therefore, you are just a lazy bastard. Do some real workouts, you fag.

I wouldn't think any workout done in ten minutes is worth anything.
My personal advice to you: Buy a used bench and some dumbbells and start a 2 day split over the weekend (you can maybe squeeze in 30 mins on Sat/Sun rite?)

You'll only really get results from lots of hard work, so no 10-minute workout will accomplish much unless it's HIIT, and that can't be done in front of a TV or on a treadmill.

Just start jogging regularly and save your money.

p90x will being you from shit to suck, but won't get you strong or fast or put on a decent amount of muscle.

to go from suck - okay - good - great - excellent you need to hit the old fashioned iron and do everything the hard and slow grind way

All very good advice, thank you. I'll skip the infomercial guarantees and invest in a good pair of runners and a bench instead. Much obliged.
