/fit/, is a hour and a half of walking equal to a an hour of slow jogging? Today was a really nice day, so I decided to walk around the neighborhood a bunch of times. I feel that it isn't because I didn't really sweat, but I've heard sweat isn't really an indicator for fat burning.
anyone?
Walking is useless for anything other than free transportation.
>>68085No, no... you lie! Please be lying :(
>>68085Seconded. Unless you're HUGE walking shouldn't be classified as an exercise.
>>68096Sorry. Reality sucks doesn't it?
Well, I'm not exactly sure. I've been losing weight from quick walking for an hour a day (4mph). Do you know how much you walked?
>>68105My neighborhood takes about 9 minutes to walk around, and is nearly .5 miles. I went around 10 times, so I'd say nearly 5 miles.
>>68115Come on... anyone?
It burns fat. Not great, but it is an expediture. You'd be better going high intensity for 40 mins. Stair-climbing, fuck yeah!
>>68138I agree, you'll still burn some fat. Plus, you need a day off, especially if you're doing normal exercising every day. Your body will be happy, trust me.
Walking is work. Work requires the expenditure of energy. The expenditure of energy by living beings requires the catabolism of energy-rich molecules. Will it compensate for the double big mac, milkshake, and jumbo fries? No, you fucking fatty.
