No better way to generate hip strength and explosion than the classic lifts (clean and jerk, snatch). A lot of strength coaches do a shit job of teaching the lifts resulting in bad form and injuries - some football s&c programs have a glorified reverse curl resulting in a lot of broken wrists...
Find a real coach from USA Weightlifting and get started.
