Hi folks, newfag to this board and need some advice. I've recently started a 40-hour-per-week, Fuck-Off busy job and the entirity of my shift requires me to stand, so I'm up on my feet for 7-8 hour stretches and by shifts end I can barely stand up, I have no energy, my mental concentration is blown, and I'm just fucked.

How do I get over this pain and this lack of energy IMMEDIATELY?! Fuck waiting it out and building endurance, I know that will eventually happen, but I need some advice on how to deal with these things immediately, because as busy as this new workplace of mine is, I suspect I have 1-2 weeks before they're ready to can me if I don't have it perfect yet. And there is a LOOOOOOT of shit to learn and do..

Please help!

((also have no idea what the picture is, so no griping if it's lame.))

I eat a small meal once every 3-4 hours. Not supposed to but I manage it. Also drink about 12-16 ounces of water each time I eat, and extra when i can. Should I be increasing this amount or frequency at all?

I had the same problem when I started my summer job.

Now that I've been working it for a while and am used to it it's not that bad.

If you keep concentrating on how tired your feet is, it's going to make it worse. The best thing that you can do is concentrate on what you're doing, or try to daydream or whatever, so long as it stops you from thinking about your feet.

Depending on what type of job you have (in mine I have to wear steel-toe boots) try a new pair of shoes or maybe some in-soles and see if that makes a difference.

Something that you could do to help you relax immediately after work is take a bath. I went to the pool after a long-ass day on friday and just stayed in the hot tub for about 15 minutes. I felt right as rain after.

Hope that helps.

standing for 7 hours drains your energy to the point where you can barely stand up and you have no energy?

Oops, I forgot to add something that>>161528brought to my attention. I do manual labour (ie. lifting) and have to stand up the whole day. How are you so tired?

How much sleep are you getting per day, and are you doing anything strenuous after work?

It ranged widely from 5-9 hours when I *can* sleep, but sometimes I have bouts on insomnia in which my body keeps me awake up to 2-3 days at a time non-stop, sometimes closer to 5. The 5-day stretches are very rare though. Lately I've been getting 8-9 hours nightly.

I can barely stand up because of the pain, and I barely have the energy afterwards to even talk.

Protip: Fatfucks shouldn't be getting jobs that require standing in excess of 5 minutes at a time, until AFTER they've gotten some practice getting off the sofa/computer chair at home.

i do the same thing. where do u work.

STAY HYDRATED. Drink water by the pint. a pint is half litre, by the end of the night u would have consumed 1.5-2 litres of the good stuff. Keep it somewhere u pass regularly and can stop 4 couple seconds.

I am a newlurkfag 2 so i dnt know what else to tell u.

very true.

Hydration isnt going to do a fatfuck much help if he cant even hold his own weight for more than 10 seconds without breaking a sweat. He's done-for in minutes no matter hydration level.

Fatfuck needs to lrn2exercise b4 getting off the sofa.

thats ALL there is to it.

Recent studies said that over 80% of employees would take a healthy person over a fat person because they believe fat people are lazy and more likely to take sick days.

Its discrimination, but even as a semi-fatfuck myself i believe it is justified.

OP of 161584 here.

Agreed.

I too am semi-fatfuck, but I have massive cardiovascular capabilities (for my size). I currently have a job that requires me to not only STAND for 10hrs a day, but continuously trapse around a large-ass construction site and climb ladders/stairs incessently all day.

Do i bitch a bout it? no. I went into the job knowing what it entailed, and

>exercised

To make sure I was going to be capable.

Simple as that.

OP needs to get the fuck off the sofa once in his lifetime for something other than work/food.

Get yourself a pair of comfortable work shoes that's a size larger than your normal shoe size. Feet swell up during the day, and close-fitting shoes will make it hurt.

Wear thin cotton socks, and chuck some footpads in until you can't feel the floor when you walk around in them anymore. You'll need the thin socks because the fabric acts as a wick to draw out the sweat, which could otherwise make your shoes very damp and sweaty.

Also, make sure to at least walk in the same spot every 5 minutes or so.

OP here. Thank you all for your advice, it means a lot to me.

As for all the "omg fatfuck" posts.. I'm 5 foot 3 and 140 pounds. How does that make me a fat fuck? And no I'm not going to translate it to metric, do it yourselves.

ever drive by all those guys working on building your house or your next office building for 10-12 hours/day? You know... standing in the sun, walking, carrying heavy things, swinging heavy hammers, using difficult & heavy tools while standing on their feet in the sun all day?

Those guys? Those guys know how to WORK.

They don't get to call in sick, they don't get to take a break (unless they're unionized), and they don't get to cry about how much their feet hurt and how tired they are at the end of the day.
