I started doing HIIT recently where I jog for about 20 secs and sprint for about 10 secs for 5 mins. I've done it twice so far and everytime I get home I get sore everywhere in my body and I knock out when I wasn't even sleepy minutes before doing it.

urdoinitrite.

Change the sprint intervals to 20 seconds if you can.

what you're doing when you sprint in between jogging intervals is recruiting high-threshold motor units. The only time you use these are when you start to get up around 90% max effort. If you aren't used to doing that, then these motor units are almost never used, so they're gonna be sore just like any other muscle you just started to train.

I thought it was 1 min of jogging and 30 sec of sprinting for about 10 mins. Try to move up the amount of time you take doing each interval.

more sprinting over less time would be bettar.

30sprint 30 cooldown
for even 3 mins would be better than the faggy shit you're doing now.

also oatz and squats.

i've been doing 30 sec spring 30 sec cooldown for X minutes

every other workout I up the total time by a minute

I began with 4

once i get to 15, i go back to 4 and push harder and work my way up again

i'm almost done with my 2d cycle up to 15

So if i do it for 5mins how many times have I sprinted?

five times

30s sprint +
30s not sprint = 1 min
cycle through 5 times = 5 sprints

of course don't forget warmup and cooldown
