Alright, so I've been getting in the routine of doing push-ups regularly to build my chest and triceps. Anywho, I was wondering the pro's and con's of the most common types of push-ups.

Military Style
Diamond Shape
Knuckle

I'm wanting to get the best results I can, and I'd like to know what I'm going to get myself into. Thanks, /fit/.

Pic is of course not related. First file I saw.

Diamond Shape: hits the triceps harder
knuckle: strengthens your wrists because you have to keep balance and obviously your knuckles

Should I lock elbows?

No benefits from the military, or the normal one as far as I know? I'm not surprised.

I don't know military style push-ups, rule of thump is: the arms further apart-> push-ups hit the chest harder, arms close together -> push-ups hit the triceps

Thank you, kind Anon. I will take these words into deep thought when I decide to get off my ass and work out again. :3

Personally I don't, I try get as close as I can to the point where they lock. This way I've found theres no rest point so it feels like one long lift instead of several short ones, if you can understand what I mean.

Diamond shape push-up also hits the upper back somewhat.
