I recently bought a gym membership. I do 30 mins of cardio and rotate my muscle groups daily when I lift. We have a stockpile of power bars at my house. Should I aviod them. If not, should I eat them before or after a workout?

I wish they made steak bars. They'd resemble those overpriced sugary pieces of crap, but actually be good for working out.

This is just my opinion, but I don't think there's a single PowerBar type product that's even very good for you. Shit's sugary and unnatural.

Thanks not anons, I had the same feelings. I guess I will go back to eating tuna before a workout.

Psh, the worst tuna tastes blissful compared to the best PowerBar. But then, I eat pixels.

more sugar than nutrition. used them in emergencies when you can't plan a day and are being an idiot. don't use with any kind of regularity, or at all.

Powerbars aren't too bad if you can stand the taste. Alot better then a bag of chips. What I'd reccomend is if your looking for more energy eat it before, if you want the powerbar to help aid in protein synthesis and repair muscles, eat it after. Maybe eat half before half after lol.
