hey, /fit/ -

I started riding my bike to work again today after a few months off due to weather and general laziness. It is making my ass, glutes swollen by all the SQUATZ I've been doing, even more sore than it usually is when I get started after some time out of the saddle.

Anyway, just wanted to complain.

Oh, and are any of you /fit/tards bicycle commuters?

Pic related (I ride a B17 Champ. Special).

I spend a lot of time in the saddle myself. Brooks are fine saddles, especially for short ride commuters (and some say long term tourers - but its /bullshit/) - they last forever and eventually conform to your ass assuming that you are riding regularly. But seriously, try a selle san marco or fizik or something with a minimal amount of padding - its well worth it if you are going more than a few miles...

So on to your other problem.... so, you're building up your ass muscles for cycling? I'm going to assume I m-m-m- assunderstood you. Leg extensions and leg presses will be much more useful as a cyclist - look at most cyclists asses and they are not so umm.. asstacular... focus on the legs, buy some butt-butter or other lubricant if you are racing - otherwise give me a fucking break.

OP here, wasn't looking for advice. The Brooks will be great in a couple of weeks once I'm broken in again.

And as far as leg presses and extensions are concerned,

a. I ride 10 minutes each way to work. It's not the reason I lift.
b. SQUATZ, motherfucker!

c. I might do some track sprinting one of these days. after more SQUATZ.

Leather saddles were good enough for this nigger's track sprints.

I ride my bike everyday to work. Any pain you get from riding a Brooks saddle is well deserved. That's what you get for being a trendwhore.

I'm going to take a HUGE guess here: You ride a fixie. Yes/No?

I've been riding w/ Brooks saddles for 6 years. This is my second. And my fixed-gear bike has a rack and fenders and big fat tires. It's not a 'fixie.'

Portland native, been in this game for a decade and a half, not a trend-jumper.

just put on a new brooks. my old saddle had 12 years+ of riding on it. it only took about 10 days to break in too, but man those first days were a little uncomfortable.
