Hey /fit/ I'm in need of some running shoes and I'm taking up some mild running. (used to just do speedrope as I hated running) but I need some shoe recommendations. Pic kinda related. And none of those fucking foot finger shoes.

Do you pronate?

Height and weight?

How far do you plan on running and how often?

Protip: NEVER buy Nike's. All marketing, worst shoes ever. I only run in ASICS typically and I rotate between whatever the current 21 model is (2120s are my current) and my Kayano's for long distance runs.

I don't pronate. Somewhat flat feet.

I'm 5'6 and 150 lbs. (no, not fat, I do alot of weight training)

I plan on running 5-6 days a week, for about 30 minutes.

I did not intend to buy nikes, I just used the first decent google images picture I could find.

Yup, New Balance and Asics are good.

First of all;

No. Yes, Nike is an evil corporation. Yes, they make lots of gimmick shoes. Yes, they also make good running shoes. If you are looking at getting a Nike, look inside the heel. If Coach Bowerman's face is looking back at you, it is a running specific shoe, and probably awesome.

No. 2130 is a moderate stability shoe. If you don't pronate, it's too much medial stability and it's going to fuck you up just as bad. You might be able to get away with a 903 since the post is very low and lightweight.

OP, if you know you don't pronate, here's some good neutral shoes on the market right now

Brooks Glycerine 6 (Firmer)
Brooks Defyance (little softer. Wider toe box.)
Nike Vomero +3 (extremely cushioned)
Nike Pegasus (little less cushioning)
Asics Nimbus 9 (New version is coming out next month.)
Asics Landreth 4 (Asics usually have a higher arch and are snug in the midfoot.)
Asics Cumulus 10
Asics Stratus
New Balance 1062 (Higher end cushioning. New Balance are lower to the ground and have a wider toe box.)
New Balance 755
Saucony Triumph (Snug midfoot, wider toebox.)
Saucony Ride
Adidas Supernova Cushion 7
Mizuno Precision (Narrow shoes in general)
Mizuno Rider

Go find a store that does fittings (they'll know for sure if you pronate) or write these down and go try them on until you find the most comfortable one.

and just for future reference, "foot fingers" are called "toes."
