Dear /fit/

I sweat like crazy around my arm pits. A while ago I started using Certain Dri (on a non-regular basis, just when I wore light colors...so perhaps 1-2 days per month).

Can your body become resistant to such products? Because I tried it recently and it had no noticeable effect. Or is it one of those products that you have to regularly use for it to have an effect?

What is it, an oral supplement or something you apply?

you apply it at night-time during sleep much like you would apply a normal rub-on deodorant (except it's not dry, but liquid).

I tried antiperspirants once in high school, and i found that after a while i didnt notice them helping anymore. But they were never perfect to begin with, so perhaps it was just me mentally adjusting to them? Not a physical difference? idk.

Could be this. I experienced the same thing here. Go off and on, switch from certain-dri to another powerful but chemically different anti-perspirant, then when that stops working try switching back.

Forum users say they get resistant to stuff like that, but I can't agree. I've been using a ~10% Aluminiumchloride solution every 3-7 days (put on before going to bed) for 3 years now and it still does its job.
If you're just starting to use it, you might want to put it on every day for two or three days.
Clean and shave your armpits, put that stuff on an rub it in a little. It should soon start to itch like crazy. That's when the sweat pores close down.
Anyway, if you want to pay less, go to a pharmacy and tell them to mix some 10-20% Aluminiumchloride solution.

i used to be the same way during high school. i'd have massive pit stains instantly and they'd be there all day. kind of embarrassing. i always used antiperspirant deodorant and the pit stains would always appear so i stepped it up to certain dri. for a couple months certain dri was a godsend, i no longer sweated absurd amounts and it was almost like i was a normal person. but eventually i managed to sweat through that shit too and i became the same sweat monster i was before even with daily application of certain dri.

eventually i called it quits and stopped using antiperspirant deodorant of any kind and guess what! i haven't had a pit stain problem once except in acceptable situations when i'm working out or its hot as balllllsss.

it may have been a hormonal thing but or an anxiety thing that i got over once i got through my freshman year in college. but yeah.

my advice would be if certain dri no longer works for you try going completely antiperspirant free. maybe it'll work.

Ohhh trust me it doesn't. I'm not really anxious or conscious about it. But it happens regardless.

The problem with me is that I never had this issue during high school AND I went through puberty at an early age. It all started maybe a year after high school. I did gain a lot of weight that I still haven't lost. Could that be it?
