True or False:

1) Body hair will grow back thicker after you shave it.

2) Foods and drinks will affect acne, pimples, blackheads, etc.
>> Anonymous
Both False.

Ask a doctor faggot. Not some idiot online with anecdotal evidence.

1. Hair gets thicker as you get older. No shit idiots who shave all their teens and try growing a beard in their 20's can.

Also, looks darker when freshly cut so illusion of being thicker, etc...

2. Acne is caused by hormones and oil/dirt. Not what you ingest.

kinda false

Well, what you ingest can affect your hormone levels, thus affecting acne.

Also, acne is sometimes caused by a defect in the skin that causes dead skin cells to stick together in the pore. The retin-A treatments address this, pretty much nothing else can.

THE FIRST ONE IS TRUE GOD DAMNIT!

Multiple doctors have told me it has negligible, if any effect.

nope. don't be an idiot.

1 is false. Darker maybe.

2 is true, fuck you guys. YOUR DIET AFFECTS YOUR SKIN.
>> ThirdNiplz
>>94332

No it doesn't. Your pores don't increase in size after you shave. However your hair will be darker and coarser.

i've had my dermatologist tell me it doesnt matter as well.

Random asshole on internet? or person with a MD?

Goddamnit, eat nothing but bacon grease for two weeks and then come back and say diet doesn't effect your skin.

You'll end up looking like somebody from /tg/.

Maybe it doesn't matter to you, but try telling that to someone who has a wheat allergy that results in excess bacteria buildup.

Breakout city!

Also, alcohol, caffeine effect the hydration in the body which directly relates to skin issues.

Not to mention people who eat well balanced diets have better skin overall.

I'd get a new dermatologist if I were you.

not necessarily so. people who eat well balanced diets may be better at taking care of their skin (through washing and so forth). Just associating the two doesn't mean causation.

No, they're entirely related. Your skin needs nutrients to reproduce cells effectively and prevent premature aging, remain elastic and supple. Without these you get bad skin.

As a stoner, The healthiness of what i eat is sometimes erratic. When i eat shitty food, i have a shitty face and vice versa.

I shower regularly and my facial hygiene does not vary.

i dont care WHAT the fuck experts say.

for some people, certain foods will trigger acne breakouts. for me, it happens if i eat a lot of dairy, especially shit like greasy cheese on pizza.

and for the shaving thing, it sure as fuck comes back thicker when you shave it. have you ever seen one of those shitfucks walking around with a beard that theyve never shaved? and it looks all wispy and lame? then those stupid fuckers actually go and shave it a couple times, and before you know it, its looking great. When you shave, you get rid of the thing wispy part of the hair shaft and start anew with the thick bottem of the shaft. if you only have a little bit of fine hair, like a beggining beard, shaving those little fine hairs constantly builds them up to be thicker over time.

Diet has it's effects on acne. It's just not as simple as "oily foods cause acne" or "chocolate will break you out". It's all in how your body responds to different foods. Lactose intolerant people could have acne from dairy and not realize it. Insulin spikes from certain foods = hormone changes, which may = acne.

The first question is a myth, generally. I imagine that if your hair is changing and getting slightly longer (puberty, vellus hair changing) you happen to notice it. Then you shave it and your body starts growing the hair back faster to get to its normal length, then you realize it's thicker.. but it was just gradually going thicker anyway, shaving off all the old vellus just sped this up. This is what I've always assumed to explain why people thought shaving made it thicker, anyway.

Holy Christ you're retarded. Egotistical fuck who ignores medical experts because he thinks his intuition must be right. Lets ignore people with a MD and go on "what i think is right".

Protip: Don't ever post again.

Protip 2: Vellus hair (whispy hair) FALLS FUCKING OUT REGARDLESS OF LENGTH when it turns into terminal. Shaving has no effect. Again ignore doctors and seem like a dumb ass.

Protip 3: You're a fucking nigger.
