Novice runner here. What's the best way to train for 800m/1500m? Eg. Should I do things like repeated sprints?

2 mile warmup4 mile runweights3 x a weeksprints100m50mstairs 20x2 days a weekjust run the other days 3-4 miles at least. If you have a pool run in the water/wade or w/e you call it.That is what we did in high school long distance track.

I ran a lot of 800s in high school and we put a lot of focus on repeat 600s. We'd normally do about 3 sets of 3 with a lap walk in between sets
