am i the only guy on /fit/ that thinks most of name brand alcoholic shit sold in the us is (dare i say it?) SHIT.

southern comfort, jack daniels, ALL the major beer brands, [insert names of the 2 shitty producers of sucky American vodka here]...

reputable producers are NOT multinational corporations with their hands in things other than alcohol
>> Anonymous
>>85661

yet every kid out there will tell you that jd is the best whisky around...

they make pussy booze that is pleasable to the general public and boom, jd's the only bourbon there is.

smirnoff also sucks. and fucking baileys tastes like concentrated sugar compared to other irish creams.

personally, i love white wine, kvas (preferably apple, mi padre introduced me to this), and good vodka...

and no, i'm not the russian version of a weeaboo... i just love much of south and west asia's cuisine (also eastern europe's)

>>85690
I fucking love Baileys...out of a shoe...
>> Anonymous
>>85693

yeah, white wine can taste pretty good if you know what kind to get. Of course, "what kind to get" always depends on the person drinking. Some really do taste like shit though. But that's the beauty of it.

And any spiced liquor is better than any generic shit like smirnoff and jd... and grey goose vodka is a fucking joke. Standard vodka at double the price, popular among dumb niggers or clubbers who like to mix vodka with redbull... congrats you retarded fucks, you're showing off that you're wasting money. Ugh..

I doubt it. I'd think anything else other than alcohol would drown out any chance of keeping a flame.

no. the sugar is not the right kind.

i like jack daniels. i don't drink soda.

did anybody try those new ecologic vodkas ? seem strange.. also one made from cannabis... vod-ca, if I recall. Looks fucking strange. And expensive.

Jack Daniels is made to mix up with other things and make cocktails. Blends well with everything as the taste is not that strong (mixed with anything, the taste will disappear). It's also a tad too sweet, what makes little girls prefer this whisky other others.

>>85721
are we talking about the same jack daniels? because it tastes like butter to me. and i don't see many girls drinking it straight. i only drink it straight.

"Sweet" compared to other bourbons. And if you taste other bourbons a bit, you will actually notice a sweet taste in JD.

Never said anything about girls drinking it straight. But yeah, there are girls drinking jd straight, but most of the time, that's only the dumb party whores, trying to show off to guys (and a way to say "look at me, I'm drunk and ready to get fucked like a dead fish").
>> Anonymous
>>85736
ok, i guess i'm not a bourbon conneisseur. the only other bourbons i have drunk have been ones i wouldn't voluntarily have straight to begin with. maybe it's just my country, but jack daniels is one of the more expensive on the market.

Baileys is also something that's one of the most expensive in the market. Just like JD, Baileys is also a couple of bucks more expensive than it should be. But pretty much understandable in your case. In my case, I have to go to the neighboring state if I want to get something other than JD. If I'm lucky, I might be able to find a Wild Turkey bottle in the corner of the "specialities" section.

The funny thing is, as Irish cream and bourbon hey their corporate monopoly over youngsters, Irish whiskey also has several brands that attracts old people. Numerous are the times I saw an old man screaming over a liquor store's clerk for not holding their aged Johnny Walker label of choice. Johnny Walker is also a shitty product (I mean, comparing a certain aged bottle to an equally aged of another brand). This shit covers up most of the shelves in the liquor stores over here, because of the numerous labels they have... the more products you have, the more shelf space you can cover, the less competition you have.

Protip: the Company that owns Johnny Walker also owns Bacardi and Baileys. Guess what I have to say about Bacardi.

ok, that's interesting. i've never had trouble finding wild turkey 'round here, pretty much everyone has it. i would have assumed that in the us where i guess you're from there would be more selection. i have actually never had wild turkey, because it is also quite expensive here, and at that price i go for what i know. i like the taste of jack daniels so i drink that if i can afford it, just because i like the taste. i imagine some people might go for image however.

i assumed that in the states there would be a million different esoteric bourbons made by bourbon dynasties using archaic secrets specially beaten out of escaped slaves during a full moon to bring out the flavour. is it not like that?

>>85767

In my local liquor store there is an entire aisle devoted to bourbon. I live in Pennsylvania
>> Anonymous
>>85767

Actually Wild Turkey is more rare where I live. And it's less expensive than Jack Daniels. And yeah, so many kids will drink it for image, typically with long hair and leather jackets, wearing an ozzy osbourne or slayer tee. Trying to down as much as possible in one go.

Although I would imagine that people do prefer it over other bourbons purely out of taste.
But personally , I don't like the taste of it. My preference was not decided by being ticked off by annoying little brats.

Hey, hey, hey! Take this back to /ck/, I want more answers to the "which is healthier" question.

Alcohol is good for you in small quantities (like 3 a week for men and 2 for women), especially red wine but binging on alcohol is worse for you than binging on pop. Any amount of pop is bad for you.

>>85598
is right though
>> Anonymous
this is kind of a no brainer

alcohol can kill you, it slows down fat oxidation, it causes birth defects, it can cause brain and liver damage, and it can be addicting to the point of withdrawal.
>> Anonymous
>>85940
TBH withdrawal is only for quitters. You're not a quitter are you?

Pop has some nasty side affects as well.

Regular soda has a ton of sugar.

Alcohol itself is not actually that bad in terms of weight gain. It only gets bad with stuff like beer, Mike's hard, wine coolers, etc. because they are loaded with carbs and sugar.

Something like regular vodka mixed with sugar free stuff is actually not very bad at all. And a lot of liquid calories are flushed out of your body without even being utilized. For example, I mix 1 ounce of blueberry Smirfnoff with about 4 ounces of wild cherry diet pepsi...no more than 70 calories in the whole drink. Yet, there are upwards of 400 calories in some heavy beers.
