I seem to have a real problem with my energy levels. Kind of hard to explain but I occasionally get days where it feels 'right' and I have energy and motivation and can think clearly. For the rest of the time I feel lethargic.

A few days ago I overate massively one night and had an entire 2-person chinese takeout to myself... for the rest of that night I felt great - a ton of energy and was thinking really clearly. No alcohol involved.

So this is kinda shitty.... overeat and feel temporarily great, or eat right and feel like shit.

I don't get it. Any ideas?

Bran/Alpen/Porrige for breakfast.

Small chicken sandwich for lunch.

Fresh veg, rice & chicken for evening meal or similar.

Tuna/Smoked fish/Yoghurt/Bran bar for snacks.

Up every day at 6am, in bed by 11. Swim 3 times a week for 45 mins.

I feel like I've got the angles covered on this one. I've been noticing lately that I sugar crash pretty bad if I have any refined sugar after midday, possibly related.

You probably feel shitty because you're not getting enough calories. Unless you're trying to lose weight, try increasing the amount of food you're eating. You don't need to change the type of food you eat, just eat more of it.

Not eating enough. Eating healthily isn't the same as starving yourself. Eat till your full - if it's good food, and your doing enough exercise, you wont get fat.

Thanks guys. I'll try bumping up intake of veg as much as I feel like, and see how I fare.

Thats exactly it. I'm just going to assume you're a male.

So you're probably heavyset, and then you start excersizing? YOU NEED MORE FOOD. When you "overeat" you're not overeating. You're eating the right amount for your needs and activity level and your body is telling you by clearing your mind and giving you energy.

You seem to have the right idea on what to eat. Now, just increase the ammount.
