sup /fit/,

I just got a new job selling construciton materials, in which I shovel bags of gravel & sand, lift lots of rock and cement products, and just kinda do whatever work comes up.

I am 5''10 140 lbs. and really really fuckin skinny - from the work I do, pain comes mostly in my lower back, thighs and shoulders from the lifting. my question is, what muscles are being worked - and to build muscle as balanced all around my body as I can, what am I missing and what exersizes should I do? I generally eat very little, becuase I find when I do eat alot it makes no difference in weight... but my appetite has increased alot since 3 weeks ago when I started, and I'm eating as much high-prot stuff as I can (eggs, meat, but pretty much anything I can get my hands on), is there anything else i need to be doing in terms of diet?
pic completely fuckin unrelated.

Are you lifting the stuff with proper form? Not rolling your back and pushing with your legs?

are there any internet sources that list or have pictures for proper form?

It'd be pretty much the same as proper deadlift form, and there's plenty of sites that talk about that.
Check out stronglifts.com for a start.

if it is real back pain, fucking stop immediately and think about how you are working.
when shoveling, think of properly 'manual handling' techniques.
Use your legs, not your back
Of course, you'll still get sore shoulders etc from thrashing the muscle, but a fucked back is a fucked life, I've seen it many times before
