I have high anxiety, and I'm going through a job situation right now that is leaving me stressed until maybe some time next week. I have no health insurance right now, so I can't go to the doctor.

I've been trying to exercise a bit because I know that raises endorphines I'm trying to drink lots of liquids. And I'm trying to not get upset and tell myself things will be fine, I just can't get rid of this tight feeling in my chest.

so what other advice would you have for a stressed person/some one with anxiety attacks who can't go to the doctor?

Get outside in the sun, do fun stuff, chill with friends, laugh, ect. Basically do stuff to keep your mind off it and do what you gotta do when you have to work.

Thank you. Good advice. I'll do my best to get my mind off it, it can just be tough.

OP i have the same problem as you. Right now, i've got it under control with plenty of exercise and i'm doing it cold turkey (no meds). A couple of years ago, my anxeity was really bad. I would go nights without sleeping, if i did manage to get to sleep i'd wake up with my heartrate @ 190-200 and covered in sweat. That tightness in your chest is probably due to your heart working a little harder than it should because of stress. I've had that for years and doctors told me it isn't life threatening so try to take your mind off it :)

No problem. It's not easy but you gotta keep trying. Either that or go to a therapist and get pills and/or sit there and talk to them for hours and pay lots of money.

have someone take away your livelyhood for a ridiculous reason and see how you feel.

Smoke some weed once in a while. Once every week or other week isn't going to kill you.

BWWWWW ;_; little Tommy want some comforting? Ok little Tommy:

do happy things, have fun, be with friends, don't think about your srs real medical condition, it's really real and srs!

There, did I comfort your over-emotional self? Are your feelings better now?

Now if your attention-whoring hypochondria is satisfied, let's make place for people with real, health related problems.

I smoke but weed isn't gonna help anxiety any unless you stay high all the time...

dude, people can go to the hospital for this shit. if you don't like it, go on another thread. it's really not that hard to do.

in any case, I would second the weed advice except that is not very cheap. try doing some meditation, yoga, things that are going to get your mind off it, before it does become a case where your heart rate goes through the roof.

lol, no, they can't go to the hospital, they can only go to some dumb shrink who'll make money off them by prescribing some placebo crap

hospital is reserved for real, actual diseases, I doubt they have time to bother with hypochondria

get one of those hypnosis relax audio tapes, i've been through these situations myself and they actually help (temporarily), i know it sounds stupid but it can help you at least to get some good sleep and then work from there. other than that some drugs might help, but that also isnt the solution to your problem
