Get chalk. Or tape works too, I guess. Stand next to a tall wall. Jump up as high as you can (no running, obviously) and stick the tape or make a mark as high as you can. Do this a few times so you can get an idea of what your average is.
Train.
Repeat. Hopefully with better results.
If you want, you can make a long stretch of paper with inch marks on them and then using different colored markers (3, lets say, one for each of the 3 jumps you will do to get your average) jump up and make a mark like before.
Basically just figure out whatever system you want, but it will most likely involve making marks on a wall as high as possible, training, and then doing it again to see your improvement.
