Actually, lentils have less fibre, and about the same amount of protein. These are yellow split peas I'm talking about.

They are amazing. They do not have too many carbs.
They are off the hook; 64g of carbs is not a lot of carbs. No sugar.
Something like a mini bowl of Kashi Golean has 36g carb, but 13g sugar. A bottle of coke has like 60g of sugar on its own.

Yellow split peas ROCK.

I always eat these. What I love about these is just how easy they are to cook. I put a cup or two of them in a rice cooker with a chopped onion and garlic, a few TSP of curry, and a couple of cooked chicken quarters, and 2-3 cups of water. Then, I go work out. When I come back, it is all done, and pretty fuckwin. A giant salad with fruit and raisins, and some motherfucking wholewheat bread and butter, and that pretty much sums up my dinner.

Holy mother of fuck. If you eat this at 10am you won't be hungry again until midnight.

I think when nearly half of them are fibre, and none are sugar or starches, they're pretty much automatically excused. Also, protein.

same with red lentils. if you make a soup out of them you won't feel hungry for a long time. they have the consitancy of potatoes when you boil them down (so they don't taste that bad at all)
