Hey guys, I've been a "nerd" most of my life. I'm not the stereotypical nerd, but I've always been rather withdrawn, lackadaisical, and inactive. I spend most of my time on my computer. I'm not fat, but I'm very unfit. I have small man boobs, and a tummy. I recently just started working out, with my friend who takes me to the gym, around 3 times a week. I go for about an hour; I do a mile run, and various small work outs - push ups, sit ups, weights, jump rope, leg lifts. I can do 3 sets of ten reps with a 15kg weight for my arms right now, yeah, I'm really weak. I can barely do 20 (perfect) push ups.

My question is, how long will it take me to get visible results? From then, how long would it take till I start looking cut? I'm looking to look trim, not buff.

hey /fit/ I've been trying to increase my flexibility for the past two weeks or so.
My goal is to end up with front splits.
I've gone from barely touching my toes to now being able to pretty much now lick my knee caps and touch my whole palm onto the ground.

Here's my problem. I can't go any further anymore. Lying down on the ground, I can raise both legs perpendicular to my body on the ground, and slightly further. Now what is the best stretch to be able to stretch further? I've been stuck in this position for about a week now, with no results, so any tips guys? like, better stretches, than just lying on the ground pulling my leg towards my body?

tldr; tips for stretching to do the front splits.

Just keep doing frontsplits all the time. Keep your tongue away from your kneecaps. Instead chin and chest up. The magic comes from the pelvis.
