This isn't a fitnes question, its a health question. More specifically mental health.
I have a severe cause of procrastination that is really getting out of control and starting to fuck my professional life up.
I read on wikipedia that psychiatrical treatment is needed in some cases. Has anyone here ever been to a psychiatrist? Did it actually solve whatever problem you had, or is it just a man giving you sermons while taking money from your pockt?

It only works if you want it to work, i was in therapy for over 4 years and it didnt help SHIT, but i went anyway so i could skip school and talk about shit to some dude. But ive had friends that had it work for them, For some people it works, for some people it doesnt, your question cannot be answered

You have to tackle your problems one small step at a time. So set yourself simple targets, like "read 10 pages of X book for university" and just SIT DOWN AND DO IT. The hardest thing is to sit down and just get on with it. So what you need to do is clear a space that is just for working, so you can just sit down at any time without thinking "oh but i have to move all this stuff... ohhh man i should organise all these dvds...etc". Get the target done, stand up and take a break. Taking a break isn't playing games/surfing the web etc, its going to the toilet, getting a drink, having something to eat etc. Then sit down and do another 10 pages.

I know the example I've given is solely about studying, but it applies to everything else. You want to lose weight? Start one small step at a time, and soon they all add up and you are in a full exercise and nutrition routine. You just have to FORCE yourself to sit down and do a small amount often, and you will make progress.
