I just began running a mile every day and I never really did that before. The only time i would run was in 10th grade PE once a week(3 years ago). Now I think I run a mile in about 8:11. Is that bad? I am sweating A LOT. But is 8:11 bad? Should I be sprinting more or should I just run a longer distance?

Btw I am 17 years old and 5'9 145 lbs.

thats pretty good imo, i was in the same position as you and when i started running again i would do 11minute miles, after a couple weeks i was down in the 7minute range
