Wow, /fit/!

6 weeks ago I was overweight and smoked. I quit cold turkey and immediately started doing HIIT 3-4 times a week and weight training. I did my HIIT outside on a track, not like all the pussies in /fit/ who do "HIIT" on a piece of gym equipment and think they're hardcore.

Anyway, it's been a long, painful 6 weeks. Many times I wanted to put a bullet in my brain.

But I just lost 20 pounds. Hell yea. And I'm now beginning to have more energy... I don't feel tired all the time (well, I feel tired a LOT, but not always like I used to). I never thought diet and exercise worked.

So to all you lazy fucking faggots... go eat a dick and be fat somewhere else. I'm going to continue getting in shape and get the pussy you dreamed you could get. See you on the flip side, bitches.

What kind of HIIT? I went to the track yesterday and am trying to figure out what to settle into.

I was going to try to do 30 second sprint 30 second jog, but i ended up doing equal distances, ends up being 30 second sprint 90 second jog or something like that.

How many intervals?

30 second sprint at 90% max effort, 30 second jog.

First time I did it I lasted 4 minutes before collapsing and vomiting. Actually, the first week pretty much went like that.

But it's amazing how fast your anaerobic capacity builds up. Just stick it out. I can now handle 15 cycles of 30 on, 30 off. Though, I admit, I do sometimes take ONE 90-second break about 2/3 through my cycles to lower my heart rate enough to survive the rest of the workout.

There's really no reason to go above 15 cycles when you get there. Just keep trying to ramp up the intensity and work even harder on your sprints instead of trying to go longer.
