Hey /fit/.

So I've been doing a 6 days full body/HIIT routine this week (it's day 5) and I've already lost 4lbs.

I thank mostly the squatz and the oatz (no joke).

Anyways...thanks for turning me on to HIIT.

Well....my full body day is essentially this:

I've modified it a little...but it's a good base.

My HIIT days:
Abs - Which includes 3-4 weighted ab exercises.
5 minute warm up on treadmill
45 seconds full blast
90 Seconds rest (which ends up being less than 90 because the treadmill doesn't instantly slow down)
etc, etc for 20 minutes.

Go home and have oatmeal and a protein shake.

Can't do hiit on a treadmill they don't go fast enough, and your intervals are way too long.

My little gym doesn't have a stationary bike (lol, I know.)

Is the eliptical an ok alternative? I prefer running and the treadmill seems to go faster than I can for max speed (I'm not like...super athletic yet.)

I think he will be able to do HIIT on treadmill. Just max that shit out. 30/30sec intervals @ 8mph-12mph is good enough for HIIT. If you think that's too easy than put the treadmill on an incline.

You can do interval training on a treadmill, but not HIIT. The point is to run like you're being chased by a wild animal then very abruptly switch to jogging, and vice versa. Something like 8 secs sprint, 12 secs jog. 5 mins of real HIIT and you'll want to puke if you're not fit. Treadmills don't change speed fast enough, and don't go fast enough at the top end.

Bike is okay, eliptical is iffy, seems like they're not built for going all out.

Yea...I mean, it sounds like OP is doing fine for his fitness level. Obviously is OP is losing 4lbs in a week then he has a long way to go...so I'm going to sit here and tell him that he needs to go harder on his IT, because I don't want him to keel over of a hart attack.

And no...you shouldn't do a full body or HIIT every day. Your body needs time to rest and recover. Unless you just wants to completely devastate your body into a state of weak, skinny ass submission.

sure HIIT isnt best done on a treadmill but it is still a great workout. most of the bitches on here whining about the exact definition probably get winded googling that shit.

I was actually thinking about HIIT yesterday doing Mnt Biking. If you push yourself like mad, say up a steep hill, then relax a bit on the straight then go assraping madddd up another hill, then relax to go down it is the same damn thing almost. I get great results and have fun with it. (but I have a tendency to cry when I get to 4chan cause everyone else is such supermen LOL) but when I bike the trials I like to think the bike does all the work, I just need to climb on top like Bubba the inmate, grab my bike TIGHT and ass rape that fucker until it get what I want from it.
