cycling, that's how I got started when I was obese, but be aware that eventually you will want to amp it up to jogging (try to continually improve your 2 mile time) and sprints

Don't do this. Increase the amount of calories you burn, but try to maintain a deficit of about 500 per day. Keep eating the same amount of calories, but make them good calories, like lean meat and OATZ with little sugar and fat. Your diet is 70% of fat loss. Also eat as often as possible to increase your metabolic rate. Good luck!
