I live with my parents/family, and our house is full of shit food. I want to eat more healthy, but all that is bought around here is total ass crap. Its really hard to eat well when I go upstairs to get something to eat, and theres a pan of delicious delicious lasagna with chocolate ice cream in the fridge. This would be so much easier if I could control the foods that come into the house.

Anyways, how do people in similar situations deal with this? The temptations to eat bad are horrible, as bad foods comprise the majority of what we have, and are generally easier and quicker to prepare than anything healthy that we might have.

There's no secret formula. The people I live with eat like shit. We have more pizza, ice cream and donuts than you could imagine. I also work at a movie theatre where I have a FUCKING UNLIMITED SUPPLY OF FREE POP, POPCORN, NACHOS AND PIZZA. All I could ever want. And you know what? I never touch the stuff. At home or at work. It's called willpower. It may not be that easy, but it really is that simple.

Your choices are all binary. True or false. There is no in between. There is only do or do not. You may fail at trying to do, but it is impossible to fail at not doing. This is because there is no middle ground, and if you fail to abstain from an action then your desire to DO that action won out over your desire to NOT do it. The choice is yours. The power is yours. OP is underage or extremely fucking lazy. Get a job and buy your own food. Go on craigslist and buy a cheap mini fridge if you have to.

Besides that, it's all about willpower. Trust me, it's toughest when starting out. Once you start seeing results (and more importantly, feeling them) you will be more likely to want to eat healthier.

Also, SQUATZ.

have you considered simply asking your parents/family to buy healthier food? Cooking healthy isn't that hard, Yes at first it is chore but once you get in the habit it's not that bad.
