I've read that doing pull-ups is one of the best exercises for increasing upper body strength.

Before the summer started I could barely do 1, but I kept at it and now I can do about 10 continuous until I have to rest before I can do more.

The thing is, I do them until I can't do a single more but the next day my arms aren't sore or anything.

What am I doing wrong?

If your just doing 1 set of 10, then of course your not gonna be sore. If you do 3-4 sets throughout the day, you'll feel it.

What I meant in my original post is that I can hang in the air continuously and do 10 before having to put my feet on the ground and gather myself. I try to do 50/day and I do it about 3 times a week because the next day I have really no energy to do them but I'm just not sore.

After a while the muscles won't get sore, but they are still tired and need rest from time to time. Try to use the "grease the groove" method with pull-ups. Over the course of the day, do many series of pull-ups with repetitions that your are comfortable with - about 60-70% of how much you can do in one go. Go for 10 series if possible.. Your arms should be sour the next day. Also google grease the groove for more info.

You're doing nothing wrong.
Soreness does not equal a good workout.

I think you should do your pull-ups in pyramids. Like example 6-5-4-3-2-1. then back up 1-2-3-4-5-6. imo its a better workout gets ur endurance higher.
