The only way I can cook steaks at home is pan fried.
In order to reduce the amount of fat I ingest daily (or at least to ingest a better quality of fat), I was wondering if using extra virgin olive oil to pan fry my steaks would be better than regular cooking oil.

Non-sticking spray isn't an option where I live.

Because I read somewhere that extra virgin olive oil contains "good" fat (even though I don't know what's good about it) as opposed to regular cooking oil that contains saturated fat.
My doubt is whether you should only use olive oil in salads or if you can use it for cooking (i.e.: does heat affects the "goodness" of this fat?).

yes, totally correct.
I use olive oil for my steak.
Olive oil is rich in unsaturated fats, which are good.
Fire away.
