Running Outside: Pros: potentially useful (chores, a job, whatever), natural sun, you get to show off if your actually buff enough to do so, and you meet people as well. Cons: Weather Dependant, you can run when its almost freezing, but its harder on your lungs and body. Theres no way to gauge how many calories your burning directly, although a lot of people can say its useless to know that information.
Treadmill Pros: you know exactly how fast your going (most treadmills measure in MPH) and how many calories your burning, many treadmills have a heartrate monitor as well. You can watch tv while on a treadmill, which helps burn time. Cons: Good treadmills are expensive, you are indoors the whole time, gym memberships are definitely more costly than running outside.
I'd say both are awesome, but outside can potentially be more fulfilling (paper route? for money?)
