Hey /fit/,
I'm 5'6'' and 185. I'm pretty overweight and it sucks. I'm strong too and have muscles but the fat covers it and I also have wide shoulders so it makes me look even bigger. I've been eating healthier and been exercising but I haven't lost weight, I actually gained 2 pounds (was 183)! I'm not sure If i'm eating too much of one thing (i.e sodium, calories, ect) and wanna know some simple solutions to helping your body slim down. So far my dailies are drink a can of V8, take my vitamin, eat a handful of almonds, and a small amount of dark chocolate as well as just watch what I eat. Suggestions?

P.s. I also don't know what certain things do to your body other than I should be eating less calories then i burn.

I cut out processed foods completely. No more potatoe chips or microwave dinners. I eat a lot more whole grains and vegtables then I use to as well. By exercise I mean I rollerblade, aggressive style, and go to fencing camps/practice over the summer were besides fencing we do 3 hours of mandatory conditioning

Instead of V8, drink water. 2 liters a day. It keeps your body flowing well and helps keep off weight.

As for your eating habits, it matters how much calorie intake you have. Healthy foods have less calories than the unhealthy stuff so you still could not be eating enough healthy stuff.

Try to get into weightlifting to help you shed pounds. When I went to college, I started weightlifting and running almost everyday, and the weight flew off.
