hey fit. Dislocated my right shoulder for the third time. Any recommended exercises to keep in shape while I recover?

3 times? You should do something else.
Swimming, biking?

how'd it happen? My shoulder has been popping lately (no pain, almost like cracking a knuckle) and I'm deathly afraid it's going to dislocate during a military press or something.

Not OP

When my shoulder first dislocated, it felt as if someone stabbed my shoulder with a knife, it happened during snowboarding. It has dislocated a couple other times, once just lifting up a laundry basket the wrong way. It sucks, but you learn the limitations and make sure not to put too much stress on it.

dunno about popping thing though, I didn't have any of that before my first dislocation

It popped out while stretching incorrectly--I just woke up and felt like pushing my arm all the way. In any case, you should get that checked out because once it happens, the chances of further dislocations increases. I'll probably have to get surgery this time around :(

I popped mine out once at Karate when I fell on it wrong.

It hurt like a mother fucker. any motion at all, even the slightest shift back and forth threatened a tear upon my manly cheek.

but after a few days i was back to normal. no more flipping and flopping, thats for sure, but haven't had a repeat or anything from normal activity or weight lifting.
