Hey /fit/,

I have a problem. I'm a male and for my whole life, I've always been pretty skinny. Lately I just got fed up and decided I wanted to bulk up and get ripped (which would greatly increase my confidence). For the past 3 or 4 months ish, I've been going to the gym around 3 times a week and drinking protien shakes. But for some reason, I haven't noticed myself getting any bigger or gaining anymore wait, just slightly toning my muscles. I don't want to just look muscular, I want to be bigger AND musuclar so I'm not a skinny fuck anymore.
Please help guys, what is some advice for bulking up muscle and toning for a skinny guy with a fast metabolism? Do you have any specific types of weight/liftinf workouts that you recommond? etc.

I'm pretty weak. I usually curl 20's for 15 reps, 3 sets. and I bench press around 120, 10 reps, 3 sets.

Buy, borrow or download a copy of Starting Strength or Dinosaur Training. The stuff in there should keep you busy for a year or so.

Yeah some people have that. You need to eat a ton and work out alot to bulk up. Im the exact opposite, I gain weight very easily, but I also gain muscle easily because of a slower metabolism.

On the bright side, you can eat just about whatever you want and not grow fat.

Simple answer: eat more, MUCH more. Add some carb supplement to your shakes. Eat a solid breakfast, and force yourself to eat after you're actually full and eat often. Seriously, I started doing this 1 and a half month ago and I've already gained 5-6 kilograms (some fat, but mostly muscle) and my strength has increased A LOT.

1. Put 50% more weight on your lifting bars than you do now.

2. Try to do 2 sets of 8 reps.

3. Do a lot of pull-ups and push-ups.

You know that we do not live in an environment that our body's were designed (adapted) for? Weight training and being active is something that would otherwise be supplemented in everyday life thousands of years ago in some hunter-gather tribe.
