It's a "scienticion" sounding way of saying sugar. The more syllables a word or phrase has, the more important the speaker thinks he sounds.
Too much sugar is bad for you. However, it really doesn't matter if you get it from HFCS, or organic, free-range honey grown on ethically responsible bee farms. Both contain the same molecules, glucose and fructose. In HFCS, the molecules are separate; in natural sucrose, the molecules are connected, but separate in your stomach.
