hey /fit/

i'm a newfag when it comes to weight training. i've done some research, youtubed some workout demontrations with weight training and all that jazz.

now the final question, how do i know what is too many or too little? i'm 5 foot 7 and weigh 150 pounds.

Let's say I want to do squatz on my first day, how many sets of # do I do? And how long do I wait between each session?

thanks

start with an empty bar, add 20 pounds each workout until it feels challenging, then add 10 pounds each workout after that

can't go wrong with 5x5+5

5 sets of 5 reps and add 5 lbs next time you lift. Deload when you plateau. google stronglift.

i'm about the same height and weight, i started with 135.

i dont get the add 5 lbs thing. does it mean every workout for example

i workout mon/wed/fri

if i worked out monday and then i add 5lbs on wednesday and then another 5 on friday? or is it whenever u do that same workout

yes, that's exactly what it means. If you're squatting 3 times a week then you should be improving by 15lbs per week, 60lbs per month. Then you reach a certain point where you can't complete your last set and you deload. Stronglift talks all about it.
