Without a doubt yes. Not because of the product, but because she will still be in the "fatass mindset" of eating junk food and not exercising. Most of the pills that work on some degree are on the basis of thermogenesis, but all come with the smallprint "to be used as part of a balanced diet and exercise", so the effect is minimal, not even worth the cost of them imo. The problem with them is, and more often with women than men because lets be honest, they are more gullible, is the fact that they take them and they "diet" and will lose weight but instead of the logical answer that it was the "diet" that lost the weight, they attribute the weight lost entirely to the pills which then feeds this BS to every other woman like a chain reaction. What in actual fact happened was she was in a calorie defecit and because of that she was burning more calories than she was taking in causing her body to burn fat as an energy source, the pills had minimal effect.
Tell your gf to get off her ass and exercise and read Tom Venuto - Burn the fat, feed the muscle (UNF UNF UNF, its in /rs/ board), it will do her more good than any pills and more importantly it will keep the weight off rather than having her rebound and do it all over again.
tl;dr - There is no supplement for hard work.
