Ok, /fit/, looking for some basic advice here.

I have a good knowledge of healthy eating. I supplement my diet with protein shakes when I can't get any through my food, I eat vegetables and drink more water than the average guy.

However, I love beer. I REALLY love it. I don't drink it to get drunk, I appreciate the taste, and this is a problem for me. I'm looking to switch to vodka-based drinks, but in the meantime, I'd like to know a good way of getting rid of bodyfat from my stomach, handles and backside. I only have access to a bicycle and some free weights. The rest is going to have to be crunches and such.

I'm now too self-conscious to go to the gym, now, basically. I want to lose some excess so i can feel comfortable enough to get back into my old gym routine. Is this a reasonable hope with what I have available?

inb4 running: I have some seriously defective knees, and cycling/similar are what I can manage without agony.

Pic obviously unrelated.

There is no problem here, OP. Just remember that beer is a food, and work it into your diet like any other food.

True enough. I guess what I was intending to ask was how best to tone those areas.

It certainly does.

Have beer in moderation.

Or, like some guys I know, drink a lot of it and run like 50 miles a week to compensate.

Since you can't run, try swimming to burn them calories.

Stick to healthier brews if you can. Natural beers are more expensive, but it's kind of like switching from cigarettes to cigars.
