Hello fit.

What to eat when you're having a stomach flu.

Like... a REALLY bad one. Haven't been able to get anything but orange juice down in the last 24h. Last night I thought I was going to die. Had to crawl to the bathroom to throw up because my body was just not working properly. Now I've been in the bed the whole ray drinking a half liter orange juice and I feel a bit better so is there anything I could try to get down to not feel like shit tomorrow morning...

Also, when is it going to be appropriate to hit the weights after this kind of thing?

Eat something that isn't too solid (unless you can eat that), and that has lots of calories/nutrition.

How is your stress level? Are you drinking enough fluids? Are you getting lots of sleep? When you recover from this get back into some kind of exercise, and eat a very nutritious diet.

As simple foods as possible. Drinking orange juice is a good start, lots of sugar and other stuff that should keep you going.

Generally tomato soup is good, especially if you dip bread into it.

As for exercising... a few days after the symptoms disappear. If you work out too hard with flu, you risk pneumonia or the flu coming back.

well I got this bad because of my own stupidity.

I drank too much (12+ portions, don't usually do that kind of stuff) on saturday night and walked back to home 4km in almost knee level snow. I had gotten angry at to my friend for some relatively legit reason and refused to go to his place that was much closer. Got an epic hangover but tried to stuff down high protein food to get back on track after the weekend. 2am sunday night all hell broke loose.

I don't think there's anything fundamentally wrong with my current eating habits and lifestyle, it was just a combination of doing too many extremely unhealthy things at the same time.

But yeah, right now it feels like I'm going to need at least a week to recover my body.

Thanks to the guy who said tomatoe soup. It seems to help quite a bit.
