I've found that music which isolate you from hearing yourself breathing is teh best. So i try to find music, with a little go in it, that fulfills that purpose.

Playlist:
Machinae Supremacy - Overworld (Album)
Instant Remedy - Instant Remedy (Album)
more to come.

I dont run to music. Music detracts from an effective mind/body connection, and only serves to separate the psyche from the physical task at hand.

Thats so robotic. If I were outside exercising, had some company, or some overarching task, I could do without music, but that usually isn't the case. Music gives me something to focus on.

Then focus on quality.

Quality? Quality of what? What the fuck does that mean?
Don't tell me you're some kind of zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance idiot.
>> Anonymous
>>91858

The quality of your fitness endeavors. Say you go running, and your goal is to hit 2 miles nonstop full bore, you should concentrate on that task as opposed to music. If you have music to distract you, your body will by its own volition slow down. If you put your mind to the task at hand, it simply enhances your mental toughness and you will more likely achieve your physical goal.

If I were to talk weights, by God I wouldnt want music in the background to distract me from performing quality repititions. Ever use a Kettlebell? You dont want any distractions with one of those, especially when they are suspended above your head.

Your mind has as much to benefit as your body if you focus 100% on what youre doing. Thats all Im suggesting.

For weight training, correct. For cardio, wrong. Music has been shown to increase exercise output during aerobic exercise.

This says trained athletes don't benefit from listening to music in their workouts. Damnit, I've been doing it wrong.
