Location faggot location. though i bought mine off craiglist
cheap 7 foot olympic barbell with 200lbs weights.

Got a bench and powertec rack for cheap during boxing day. you can do pretty much anything like benchpress, pullups, squats, shrugs etc

I heard a lot of negative things about bowflex.
Anything you can recommend about it from personal experience?

sorry man, that was a total joke.

stay away from bowflex. you'll want something function and without too many frills. you'll want a cage for squats and it should convert to allow you to do bench-press, or at least have the option to by a separate bench and put it in there for your press.

the more crap something comes with the more i would be wary of it (lat tower, leg extensions, cable rows, etc). stick with free weights for most exercises. the cage is important because it allows you to work 2 of your major muscle groups with serious weight (chest and legs). to work your back you can do rows with dumbbells or standing rows with a straight bar.
