Alright /fit/, so I know that drastically reducing your calorie intake can cause your body to retain weight rather than lose it and is a bad idea and you'll bloat up next time you eat, blah blah blah, but I've a question.
I normally eat 1400 cal a day (120lb girl) as well as work out with cardio and stuff. So far it's been working and awesome and I'd like to maintain it, but the gym's been closed recently and with shitty weather I can't do jogging or anything.
So if I reduce my calorie intake to, say, 1000 a day for a week or so, without exercising, will that really fuck up my metabolism once I go back to my usual routine? Or, since it's for such a small period of time will I be fine?
Pic unrelated.

run in place/jumping jacks/burpees/mountain climbers/jump rope

There's plenty of stuff you can do in the home. And you really shouldn't drop below 1400 a day, even that's pushing it.

Do isometrics, they require no equipment you wouldn't find outside of your home, unless you live in a box.

And no, don't drop calories. Smaller meals more frequently = higher metabolism.

I will use myself as an example. I thought smaller meals all day and protein every morning would increase my mass, which was what I was going for. Instead I lost 7 pounds over two weeks.

So keep the same amount of food, but eat it more spread out in the day instead? I'll try it.
