I was told to eat 45 minutes before my workout. Does it really matter when I eat, just as long as I do?

I mean I figure it's a common sense thing and that it shouldn't matter if I eat before or after, but if it's going to help somehow to eat beforehand then I would like to know.

It's because if you really push yourself during a workout, you'll be noxious cause of all the food still non-digested in your stomach, and you'll end up in more pain then usual or puking, also when running, food in your stomach is what causes the stings in your side, i don't run for atleast TWO hours AFTER i ate

I just read up on this. Its better to eat before hand because it allows you to push yourself more/ have longer workouts because it gives you extra fuel to push yourself instead of feeling sluggish on an empty stomach. To avoid feeling sick just wait 45 minutes to an hour before you start your work out

Oh and you should also eat after the work out, like fruit, to replenish the energy stores you just depleted but make sure to eat beforehand.

Its best to eat after a workout. You burn carbs faster after working out.

last time i ate 35-40 minutes before a run, i was literally puking and almost passing out from the pain in my stomach. holy shit it felt like death
