Budget of 100 dollars a week? Anonymous
Hey /fit.
I was wondering if you guys could help me out here. I decided that I am going to budget my grocery shopping to about 80ish dollars per week at MOST.

I want to know if you can help me still manage to have a healthy and balanced diet and pull this off, what should I have on my grocery list?

Veggies and fruit are really fucking cheap.

When I don't eat significant amounts of meat and dairy, and limit my intake of fruits / veggies / carbs, I find it hard to get a good amount of protein (130-160 grams, including whey, for a 155 lbs person) in my <2000/day meals.

Am I doing something wrong?

Here's a tip. Try buying only what you need to eat for one day. Make a trip to the store/stores every day to get supplies for a meal. That way you are less likely to just throw something in the fridge and forget about it. And you don't have to worry about fruits and vegetables keeping for more than a day or so. This reduces waste and saves you money.

Personally, I live within walking distance of a grocery store, a Walmart supermarket AND a local organic food store, so I admit it's easier for me. But maybe you could work out a routine where you pick up your groceries every day after work on the way home.
