Hi /fit/, flabby fag here. I know you get these threads literally every fucking day, so I'll try to cut to the chase and spare everyone the inconvenience.

I'm pretty new to the fitness thing and basically clueless (obviously). I've been lurking a lot, trying to avoid posting this thread, but now I'm just feeling a little confused and lost with all of the options and suggestions I've come across. I'm just worried that I'm not doing the right thing, or not doing enough.

My diet consists of either an egg and a piece of fruit in the morning for breakfast, sometimes just toast if I'm in a hurry. Ham on whole wheat with a piece of fruit or some vegetables for lunch, and usually some chicken and vegetables for dinner. I use an elliptical for at least 45 minutes everyday. I've been doing this all for a week now and have lost about 5lbs (was 229, now 224).

Is this all good, is there something else I should doing that I would benefit from even more? I heard the 45 minutes was unnecessary, but it seems to be working.

tl;dr another confused fatty.

I hope you're not starving yourself. Calculate your weight maintenance rate and cut about 500kcal from that. Cardio is very good if you're trying to lose fat.

I recommend using the "FitDay" software so you can keep track of your calorie intake everyday. If you don't want to buy it, just download it from isohunt.com or something.

Your diet is not good, and your exercise is not good either.
