I have an incredibly skinny friend. 6'1" and he's very skinny... his calves are as skinny as my wrists, I would say. Pretty much pure ectomorph.

I told him to eat 6000 calories a day since I know from watching him eat that he does not gain any weight from eating at all.

I also explained to him that he should try Rippetoe's as a start because it'll help him gain mass quickly (it worked for me, I got to lift much more and gained close to 20 pounds of muscle). He did this for a while.

Then, he told me on MSN that he spoke to someone from university "who was much more educated on this than me" and was "quite a bit bigger than me". My friend said that the university guy told him "to go to the gym 5 times a week or more because of the high metabolism" and to "include isolation exercises with the compound ones".

I laughed and we went to the gym.
I was squatting and he comes up and says hi.
I say "hi" and I turn around and handed him a 40 pound EZ-curl bar and said "use this" and continued squatting.

Honestly, stupid people like that... I don't let them get to me and I just let people who exercise do it their own way and then they come to me about not getting results... Ugh...
