How do I get myself motivated to go to the gym? I go everyday and do cardio there for about 67 minutes straight and go home. I always feel depressed when I go because of how long I have to exercise, but only happy when I leave because I know it's over... For now. So, yeah, what do I do to stay motivated?
focus on your results and feel good about being able to work harder and longer. or focus on the weight you lost. whatever it is, if you don't like the activity, then start paying attention to the results.
>>123161Hmm, would help if the gym was high tech enough to have TV's in the cardio machines. Nope, we have a couple of TV's hanging off the ceiling which you need a personal mini radio to hear, and it's too far to even see what the hell CNN is talking about.
>>123162You listen to CNN to find out how far you've run or how much weight you lost?
Well when I go, it gives me time to listen to new music I get. I can't just sit around and listen, I have to be doing something.Or if you workout on a machine, bring a book to read.
>>123162Seems like a cubicle more then a work out zone.I suggest you start running outdoors. If all you are doing is walking/running in place, you get bored and begin to focus on what your body is going through.A good option would be to run to the gym, depending on how far away you live. It's really all about willpower, and really getting into a groove. Give it a month or two and it will be like breathing to you.
>>123170Well, I had been on my treadmill for about three months at my house, but it broke. I then decided to run outside, but I found myself getting really depressed and bored. So, I joined a gym. But it's still pretty boring.
There are a few threads up featuring monstrously fat people basically gloating over their fatness.Watch this video before you go to the gym: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyiLnriNensIf that won't give you the pump to WANT to run as hard and as long as you can, then nothing will. Seriously, anger is the best fuel for a workout.
>>123188You need to make yourself believe the burning pain feels good, like cumming.
>>123188If working out makes you feel depressed, maybe you need to take a look at the reasons you are working out in the first place.
>>123194I don't feel depressed in the gym. More so, bored and sad because it's 67 minutes of just boring and repetitive raise leg up and put back down, or in the case of an elliptical, pushing down.
>>123198>Just do it, faggot.
I'd try the book. If music doesn't keep you occupied, it would probably help. You seriously got depressed running outside? Do you have any trails that have nice scenery near by?
Here's something for you OP: Stop going to the gym, then come back when you're ready. You obviously don't feel grateful for having a chance to become better.
