hey /fit/,i have random shooting pains in my left achilles tendon. it feels almost like electrical shock or something and lasts a couple seconds, then goes away.i googled it but all i can find is achilles tendonitids. but i don't have any other symptoms. no pain or trouble walking, flexing my ankle, etc. no tenderness/pain if i touch or squeeze it.do i just have foot aids?picture unrelated.
see an L-ATC if you're at a university/collegeotherwise see an MDotherwise, R.I.C.E. is the way to go
>>103816aw damn,i was hoping it was nothing and would just go away on its own. thanks, anon
>>103819it probably isn't anything.... and R.I.C.E. is probably what they'd tell you to do anyway... but it's good to be sure you don't have something nasty....probably just a class I strain
>>103813No...it's called "I'm-not-gonna-do-the-right-thing-and-go-to-the-doctor-so-I'm-gonna-ask-anonymous-for-advice-instead-itis".Seriously, OP...get to a physician before your condition gets worse with activity. Are people trying to avoid health-care costs by posting these kinds of questions here or something?
>>103907kind of. i don't have a regular MD and it's such a weird random little pain... which by the way hasn't happened now since i posted about it. i have a trainer session today so i'll ask him about it if it doesn't come back, and i'll go to the doctor if it does come back.
i doubt anybody cares, but i haven't had the weird pain in about 24 hours. my trainer thinks i maybe pinched a nerve or something, told me to take it easy for a couple days but if it doesn't come back, then no worries.
If you changed how you walk/run or the heel/cushioning of your shoes recently, you have to give the ankles time to adjust to new stresses.
