My mom bought me this product Isagenix, apparently it helps with weight loss. Does it really work /fit/ or is just a scam?

All weight loss products have side effects that will just fuck with your body and barely work. In the end, it's diet or exercise that will truly make you fit.

if it worked it'd be on the news

The news is a -=terrible=- source of information on health and fitness. They're really no different than magazines.

As far as "Lsagenix" goes... I did a search and here's what I got:

---===---
Your search - Isagenix - did not match any pages!
No pages were found containing "Isagenix".

Suggestions:

* Make sure all words are spelled correctly.
* Try different keywords.
* Try more general keywords.

I need to see the contents on the label before I can tell you if its effective or what it does. Are you sure you spelled it correctly?
>> Beckx

That does really answer the question. I am not sure if I should take it or not, because I am not sure it works and I should tell my mom to stop sending it or that it might be bad for my body

Do you have a link to a site where I can see the label? I've got to be able to see the contents before I can tell you anything.

arrrrgggggggghhhhhh...... dude!!!

The website takes me to tons of advertising and useless info. Plus there's like 53 million different isagenix products, and each one does something different. There's cleansing, aminos, weight loss, mass building... come on, which one of these are you on, and what's the health label say??

Lets get to it so we can solve this mystery and move on with our lives!

Me again

Look here:

http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/bsn/xplode.html

See that? Over on the left hand side, there's a huge white box with thousands of chemicals in it. I know what each one of them do.

If you can show me a similar health label for this isagenix thing you've got, then I can tell you exactly what it does.
>> Beckx
>>124823
Should I just take a picture of the label and post it?

But i have the

Ionix Supreme
Cleanse for Life
IsaLean Shake
Natural Accelerator Capsules

Thats one way, but make sure I can read the label. All of it.

Hold on, I'll check that site again now that I know exactly which ones you're on. If you can find the health labels to each of them located on that site, that might also work.

I've been using the shakes for a while now and yes they do work as long as you, y'know, eat well and exercise and stuff. Even if you don't the shakes alone HELP but they aren't the cure to fat loss. Obviously. My parents use it and they love it and it works for them to maintain healthy weight. The cleanse stuff... I find it almost impossibly difficult because, hey, I like to eat and going one day without eating anything and drinking their little cleanse drink just isn't my thing. Again, my parents actually seem to like it.

So in conclusion, yes it works just don't think that by drinking this stuff you can go out and eat a cheeseburger after and still lose 3lbs/week, etc. :) Hope that helps!

Unimpressive. Basically its protein, vitamins, minerals, some enzymes, oils, and fiber. Nothing special, though not bad either.

Unimpressive.

For a list of amino acids and what they do, see here (you have to register but its free):

Here, we have a lot of goodies listed under "proprietary blend".

Its a trap - see http://www.themedicalhelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=424 to find out why.

From the above link (cuz clicking it is just too much work):

---===---
"N.O.-Xplode™'s Proprietary Blend" -- means 2 things.

First - the exact mixture of ingredients is patented by their company and cannot be reproduced. Thats understandable. However, it also means they dont have to tell you EXACTLY whats in their product. Below this, we see chemical names, but the exact amount of each is not displayed. They might have 0.0001% of the active ingredient, and dozens of completely useless things that sound nice mixed in as filler.

Anytime you see a "proprietary blend"... and you'll see this on nearly every brand name supplement you find... thats the real reason its there; to distort the lable so you dont know how much of what you're getting. This applies to every product being analyzed.
---===---

With that said, your bottle says "proprietary blend 507 mgs" - and 506 mgs of that could be allocated to Inositol, which is a completely useless label filler.

Your mom may be getting better for any number of reasons, including the placebo effect, and/or lifestyle changes that can accompany taking a supplement.

>>124850
There's something above what you showed me there... this is the "other ingredients" section. But oh well, I hope I've helped you enough.
>> Anonymous
>>124872
Upon rereading what I've said, I should probably clarify something...

The amino acids are unimpressive because they all exist in any form of protein. Anytime you eat chicken, fish, turkey, cheese, or just about anything containing complete proteins, you're getting all the amino acids. The product contains whey protein, so obviously it will have all the aminos.

However, if you want the benefits of any INDIVIDUAL amino acid, you'll have to take it by itself in its free-form. Otherwise, its combined in a peptide bond to form a protein, and through a long series of biological and technical reasons that I really dont have time to explain because I have to get to the gym before it closes - it doesn't work the same way.

Oh wow, thanks a lot! So it's not bad to my health, but not exactly very good for the idea of loosing weight?

>>124861
So are you talking about these shakes or shakes in general?

>>124878
These Isagenix shakes. I have them for breakfast which rocks because it's easy, fast and fills me up until lunch time. Sometimes I have one for dinner or lunch too.
