Novice runner here. What's the best way to train for 800m/1500m? Eg. Should I do things like repeated sprints?

OP should ask in /sp/
I think: Best way to train for 800m/1500m is to do 800m/1500m

Just run.

2 mile warmup
4 mile run
weights
3 x a week

sprints
100m
50m
stairs 20x
2 days a week

just run the other days 3-4 miles at least. If you have a pool run in the water/wade or w/e you call it.

That is what we did in high school long distance track.

I would ask in /sp/, except thats just full of discussion about NFL and other professional sport and eurofags and amerifags trolling each other

I ran a lot of 800s in high school and we put a lot of focus on repeat 600s. We'd normally do about 3 sets of 3 with a lap walk in between sets
