How does lose body fat while gaining muscle? As in, lowering overall body fat, not just getting a smaller percentage by bulking. Is possible?

Thanks.

That's a fantasy. you either bulk up and gain both muscle and some fat, or you cut and lose the fat but also some muscle. You can't gain muscle and lose fat "at the same time"

To an extent you can, but the gains are so small its not really worth setting a goal to do both. Not that that means lifting is useless, because its not, but you cant expect much gains if your primary goal is cutting.

I wouldn't recommend it, but you can try rotating between high calorie and low calorie days to increase weightloss while maintaining enough protein for muscle growth. Uh when i tried this i failed LOL - but i was never good at following diets anyway, so gl to you.

Anyway last school year (soph yr at college) I finally went to the school gym with a buddy. Before I weighed in at 215 and on the last day of the semester I weighed in at 203 (my height is 6'0). You may not think this is such a big accomplishment, but my bench went from 90 to 250, squat 115 to 275, and deadlift from 135 to 440. Btw i'm not a powerlifter - I just don't go for mass and strength. So I guess in the end I lost some fat, but the real deal is that I also gained alot of muscle and you can really see and feel the difference

High calorie - alot of protein (had like 2 protein shakes a day, also a shit load of chicken, turkey, tuna etc...). I probably had around 5 meals a day. But I did cut out almost all fast food and sodas (only fast food place i went was subways). Also I went to the gym days a week and did 25mins of cardio 3 days a week after my workout.
