what does /fit/ believe is the best way to prepare for a long distance run/ a sporting even in regards to eating/drinking. I generally get stitches whenever I try to run any sort of distance and am wondering if this is normal or is it because of what I'm consuming? I'm not after a long term diet but rather the day before/ morning before the event.

Proper hydration. I get a nice cup of water, and I take small sips from it, I take my time or I get stomach cramps as I run.

Also I eat something with carbs, nothing too filling, I try to go easy on my digestive system.

Good luck! Getting stiches in the middle of a long run sucks, and gets annoying.

it's probably because you're out of shape and your muscles aren't getting enough oxygen when you run, leading to a quick build up of lactic acid - and pain.

The morning of eat fruits. Carb loading wouldn't be the night before/morning of as far as I know.

thanks for the info /fit/. Would pasta be a good option for a carb loaded dinner the night before?

Pasta is good. But also try to eat some carbs an hour or 30 minutes before running. You'll feel much better. Also when you drink water, sip it, don't gulp.

FFFFFRRRRUUUUUUIIIIIIIITTTTTTT

Learn from your mistakes and eat something that isn't starchy. Shit, eat a chicken sandwich; just stay the fuck away from the carbs or you will bloat like a douche when you add water. Stay away from redmeat.

Almonds, yeah, almonds. Eat those, those are good carbs.

If you throw up, it tastes just the same going up!
