Will finger pushups cause damage to my fingers and I end up with arthritis or whatever, or will it strengthen my fingers?

I'm trying to learn the planche pushup and I get the best balance with my fingers spread out rather than palm or knuckles on the ground

Do them on your knuckles first (not the knuckles on your fist - like, your actual knuckles) first before doing them on your fingers.

But yeah, they're great for hand strength.

hmm that might be worth a shot

Now I'm guessing you're right in that they're good for strength, but will they cause my to have fucked up hands when I'm older?

just tried the knuckle pushup. had my fingers resting between the middle joints. It's really damn hard, only managed 3. Without your thumb out you really don't have much balance heh.

But this kind of puts force on the opposite side of finger pushups, but I guess that doesn't matter?

bump
any confirmation if itll fuck your fingers up in the long run?

To learn to do planche push-ups you don't really have to be able to do finger push-ups ( but I still see what you mean)

When i fist learned to planche and to planche push-ups i used the progression showed in this video.

In b4 Nigger,50,mussels...ect

And concerning your question i do finger push-ups and pull-ups and i'm still fine. If it had any effects on my fingers i would have stopped long ago ( play bass so i really need to have functionnal fingers)

I actually seen that video before. It's not bad, although I don't really like that wall pushup, my feet don't seem to slide very well, but I have found my own exercise that trains well, the only issue of reaching my goal was whether my fingers will get messed in the long run

How long have you been doing finger pushups?
Also, anyone know how long bones take to repair (If they even need to?) from pushups

it's something that came from my judo training but i've started to do them again about 2 months ago to see if I was still able to do them

I see

does anyone know if bones need a break like muscles?

I dropped a 100 lbs rock on my foot, and it took the bones there several months to feel right. Fortunately, the damage was all on the top of my arch and never hurt during walking or running. I'd say bones require even longer recovery than any muscle or tendon.

tips of your finger receive the weight so your fingers bones should be involved... but to answer your question : No.

Fo you take a after typing on your keyboard ? Don't think so, same thing for finger push-ups

While we're on the topic, whats the advantages of training your hands. It seems to me that the only use for finger push ups is to show off.

stronger hands leads to stronger grip and stronger forearms,

And so you can stab people with your finger
fuck yeah, your fingers are a weapon

oh and your fingers won't easily break from random incidents.
