Vascularity, what do you think of it?
>> Anonymous
It's fucking awesome
>> Anonymous
Cover those veins with some fat!
>> Anonymous
It happens.

I love it on myself. On women, not so much.

Also, I'm decidely less freaky huge than that guy, which is a good thing.

I think it's fucking awesome. I worked very hard for veiny arms and chest. And when you get hot and sweaty, they pop out even more.

I don't have veins but a sixpack. I'm smooth like a statue. Is this awesome Y/N

No. If you don't have some good veins then you don't have enough muscle. Lift more weight.

Vascularity is about body fat percentage and water retention, not muscle. You are therefore an idiot.

As for how it looks, I think its kind of gross when its really extreme, but in general its not bad.

You are even more of an idiot. Obvious facts are obvious. Didn't you read his post. If he has a 6 pack then he obviously has a low bf%. Bigger muscles require more blood to be pumped through the veins which improves vascularity tremendously. You lose. =)

Wrong statement is wrong. Blood is not pumped to muscle through veins, rather veins are compressed by muscle back to the heart. Arteries bring fresh blood to muscles, venous blood is low oxygen blood. The reason you can see veins in more muscular people, especially when flexing, is because the veins are compressed in certain spots. That causes blood to pool in the vessel therefore producing the 'popping' effect.

Lifting does increase actual vascular size long term. I'm not talking about a temporary pump.

I think it looks good when it's moderate. But why do really skinny people sometimes get it. It's not as extreme, but they do have veins. I don't really understand it.

Yeah. I'm skinny and I've wondered this too. Mine just like... POP OUT.

Yeah, I don't get why skinny people have veins either. What are they supposed to use them for? Making lassos? As we all know, skinny people don't have blood.

I had it when I was really fucking skinny, especially on my forearms. It was awesome, it somehow made me look I had muscle, whereas in reality I was just a bundle of tiny girl bones with some skin stretched over.

I have it more since I started lifting, obviously. I think it looks pretty good, but not the way really big bodybuilders get it, that's just freaky.

No, like why do muscular people have extreme vascularity, but really skinny people do as well? For skinny people though, I see more blue viens then viens sticking out.

Really skinny people have, like body builders, low body fat.

The skin is stretched tight and the veins, which sit close to the skin, start to show through.

I heard a massive "DOH!" across this thread.

increase in blood flow? I've noticed it more after something strenuous or working with your hards a lot. not sure though...

Vascularity, in bodybuilding, is the condition of having prominent, visible veins.

Vascularity is enhanced by extremely low body fat, low retained water, high blood pressure and muscle engorgement. Some bodybuilders use topical vasodilators to increase blood flow to the surface skin as well. Vascularity is a highly sought after aesthetic for many male bodybuilders, but less so for female bodybuilders where the target aesthetic is relatively more towards aesthetic symmetry than extreme development.

I was born really veiny. I'm not a huge bodybuilder, though. I have muscles, yes. I have low bodyfat, yes. But I have huge mo'fuckin veins.

Some people are born vascular. And yes, chicks love it.

Honestly it's kinda gross. I'd rather just be ripped.

I've always wondered, what happens if you or someone else pinches one of the veins shut? Is it easy/easier to do that with big, exposed veins?
