Who here does meditation? What kind or techniques?

Would it help with ADHD?

nobody; none; no, try meds.

I do. I focus only on my breath. 1-2 3-4. Let thoughts pass away. I do it for stress management purposes. It calms me down. I don't do spiritual meditation.

Try meds.

Doing a bit of Zazen.
Controlled breathing, slow exhaling, sitting correctly and just letting the thoughts pass until nothing is troubling me anymore.
Definitly something worth trying.

I do meditation, pretty much what the others have said.

I don't recommend meds; my brother is ADHD, and they just messed him up.

ADHD is better treated with a combination of medication and therapy.

meaning
i run and slalomskate without the fucking player, without thoughts, just moving.

I'd have to disagree. I'm ADHD and take Adderall (Amphetamine salts). I haven't had a problem with being screwed up. The key is to take the lowest dose necessary, and not to take it in the evening, so you can actually sleep. Also, don't take it on the days you don't need it.

Like any drug, if you take it 2x a day for months straight, of course you are going to develop a fucking tolerance and physiological addiction. Thats why people have problems, because they don't give their body a break.

nothing directly meditation related, except maybe "Zen in the art of archery" by Herrigel.
Which is an interesting book, but has to be seen in context.
I'm doing kyudo for some years now and can only recommend it for concentration purposes.
It is NOT standing meditation as some people will say, but it will have positive effect on patience, self-discipline and concentration.

Could you say specifically how he was messed up after the meds?
