Progression thread for /fit/: The Announcement Progression_Guy !!CZWKtQba4Y6
Alright /fit/, I've decided to become more fit than I am at the moment. The problem is that I have no one to show my results since I have no friends. There might be many of you in the same position so once a week on Fridays I'm going to post a progression thread where all of us can show eachother how far we've gotten in our goals. I'll be creating a progression collage of all the weeks for everyone so we can compare our bodies now to our bodies 2 months from now.

What I would like from you guys are a few simple things.

1. A picture taken that day. No need for faces.
2. Your goal.
3. Your stats and stat improvements from the previous week.
4. A trip code when you post the picture. (name#password in the name field)

The last one may bother you a tad bit but I need to be able to recognize what body goes with each poster.

I'm just trying to get the word out there for friday. Hoepfully This won't be a complete failure and people will do it since I'm also going to be participating for motivation.

Comments and suggestions are more than welcome.

i used to be a very competitive athlete, weighing 120 at 5'6", 14% body fat. i had a 32" bust size, 6-pack, and strong leg and arm muscles. over the past year i quit exercising b/c of asthma, and gained a lot of weight. i'm very weak, lost all muscle tone, have a lot of belly fat and none of my jeans fit me anymore. my bust size also increased 4 inches. i don't have a picture yet, but i'll post one soon.

Better late than never, even if Im very late, but im interested. Ive been working at it slowly for about a fortnight, with no scale I can judge too accurately, but ive been losing approx 4cm around my waist since I started a fortnight ago.. looking for my camera now but it looks bleak

I should come to /fit/ more often, but I want to join this.

I've been going to the gym on and off for about 3 months, but now I'm getting into a 4 times a week routine.
I don't need to lose any weight, I just want to get stronger and bulk up, mostly my upper body and arms.
I'm currently only lifting 35-45kg depending on the machine, I'd like to get up towards 70kg.

My problem is consistency, when tests come round I stop gyming and dont watch my diet and as a former fatty u pick weight up fast! T_T

the key thing to losing weight of course is your diet! when it comes to cardio all you need is 2 do a bit of running etc for 30min no breaks! after 30min ur heart rate will remain at an elevated point which will help burn fat quicker(boosted metabolism) as for food. supper eat smaller meals with as little carbs and sugars as possible while for breakfast you can enjoy some carbs. Eating just before you go to sleep is the worst thing ever! if your going to have a fruit (not a banana)

Ah, to hell with it- I'm in.
Female, 5'6, about 168.
Looking to lose about 20 lbs by the end of May, which I'll probably be able to do with losing 2-4 lbs a week.
Then another 20 for July, and I'll be content.
Used to be about 140, but over Winter I've gained around 28. Mostly around my thighs, arms, and lower legs.
Looking to lose weight off said areas and get them back to they way they were before, and then with losing another 20, I'll be pretty happy.
Going to start going to gym twice a week, already do about half an hours crunches each night, and I do a lot of side lunges, about half an hours worth, too. Usually every two nights. Also walk quite a lot during the day.

Alright, why not.

I'm 16, 5'11", and weigh 176. My plan is to be at 155-160. When I started I was at 185, and all i've done is change my eating habits, consume less calories, but done little to no movement. At the most about 20 pushups, 10 pullups, and 50 crunches, and walking inbetween classes (and gardening after school). So I'm on my way, I fit into a medium sized shirt again, i'm at a 32" belt again, and I'm on my weigh.

But does anybody know why I'm losing weight while not exercising all that much?

Weight: 155 Lbs.

Goal: I have practically non-existent pecs, abs, bi & triceps. I'm not really sure how much I want to gain, but I do know I want to not necessarily be Bulky, but have a nice, slim but cut physique.

Basically, I don't want to look like a body builder, I want to have an Athletic looking body instead.

Any tips about how to build Pecs, Abs, Tri & Biceps, and what kind of diet I should be running?

I bought some protein shake mix and have a blender with plenty of fruit, but I'm not sure what to do for my meals.

Losing weight is all about the diet. If you eat a balanced diet (concentrate on stuff YOU'VE cooked) you're likely to maintain a healthy weight. The basics of this is : three meals a day, balance your alimentation, don't be afraid of eating too much, but eat it GOOD.

I've got a lot of things I'm doing right now, and I'm not particularly in the mood to exercise, since my usual job and errands give me enough of a workout, but I'll be back in the dorms next term, and I'll start working out then.
I'll probably keep reading this thread, though, for motivation when I start working out again.

I'm 6'3" and weigh about 155 pounds.
My goal is just a general improvement of my physique. I want to be able to do 100 push-ups in a row and 100 crunches in a row. I want to be able to run a quick mile and generally increase my stamina.

I'm interested in becoming a cop, but I'm still just a bit too young to apply, so I'll take the year I have left and push my limits with a good workout regimen.

I went from 180 to 160 on dieting alone, but I seem to be plateauing so I'm trying to step it up with an hour of cardio and 100 bicycle sit-ups (these probably aren't doing anything for me, but it's a nice gesture).

Have you measured your waist, that's one of the easiest ways to tell if your body fat has gone down (and don't cheat yourself by holding it in!)

I'm around 6ft tall and I weigh 251 lbs.
I've been fatter, I think I've been up to 330 or so, but I've lost that over the course of two years by taking up smoking.

I thought that maybe I'd become more motivated for everything if I lost weight as well.

I don't have a dreamy metabolism so I need to work pretty hard to get stuff done.

i am 14 years old and am pretty fucking /fit/. thought the boagans and everybody else at my school doesn't think i am strong at all becausei have NEVAR been in a fight in my life, besides the fact that i can stand on my head for up to 3 minutes and do sets of 50 crunches, 30 pushups, 20 chinups, 25 pullups and can currently jump over 53cm.

I've been fat as long as I can remember. Since I got one some meds, I have had more energy to do things so I am gonna try getting in shape. I have a weight bench but right now I'm just working out with two 20lb dumbbells. I don't know anything about dieting since my parents are morbidly obese but I know romaine lettuce is always available so I am probably going to eat that and whatever lean meat I can find. Hopefully I can lose like 50 pounds or something. I dont know a good goal to shoot for the be honest.

Want to drop it at least down to 160, get a strong muscle core to replace the fat. I'm on a diet of high protein, no dairy, vegetables. High intensity weight lifting and jumping rope for cardio. Basically I'm beating the shit out of myself, and it feels great. When I am thin and muscular I'll go save the universe or something.

Ive been overweight as far as I can remember. I just got dropped on my ass from a 3yr relationship, and am looking to get into good shape, help boosting self confidence and all that. Plus I just want to look good.

Overall goal : Build muscle mass in arms and torso, drop excess weight, build physical stamina.

I would like to get down to 200 or so eventually. Daunting task, but I think Im up for it. I have alot of motivation behind me. My main issue is getting a good cardio going. I have no problem lifting, that comes pretty easy. Its just dropping the fat and finding something I enjoy doing to do that

First, that's literally starving yourself. It's not healthy and it's certainly not a good idea.

Second, crunches are much better than sit ups due to sit ups putting pressure on your neck.

Girls shouldn't go under 1500 or 1600 calories a day. They key isn't to cut your calories super low, the key is to burn the calories off. A healthy diet is important, starving oneself is unnecessary and unhealthy, unless the dieter wants to gain all the weight back the second she starts eating normally again.

The important thing is to combine cardio with weight training. Building muscle will allow you to burn more fat and calories when you do cardio. But by eating only 1000 calories, you're not getting enough nutrition for your muscles and may actually start LOSING lean muscle mass, the most important tool for losing weight and being healthy.

I'm currently about 6'. 199 pounds, which would be fine if it was muscle but its not hah.

My goal: Drop the man boobs, general slim down would be nice. Aiming for an ambitious 150.

Side note: I was 280 in highschool, so I lost about 80 pounds simply by cutting out all junk food and doing occasional running for about half my senior year in highschool.

In every trustworthy weight loss guide (and from my own personal experience), I have learned that 1200 is the absolute lowest calorie intake a woman can healthily eat in a day, and even then it's only healthy temporarily before the body starts slowing the metabolism. Most exercise regimens recommend about 1500-1600 calories a day.

I've actually had gym class for the past 3 months, and I push myself hard every time I go in there (my heart rate usually gets up to 180 and rarely drops below 160 once I'm warmed up when I'm doing aerobics), but I haven't been getting anywhere thanks to only going twice per week on average and only just recently working weights in there.

I fucking hate aerobics and that always kills my motivation to go, but I'm not going to get anywhere like this.
