Hey /fit/. I am wondering how good sit ups are or are they damaging? I'm basically at the at the 'blank' stage where I've lost a lot of weight but have no definition. So I'm wondering how many I should do or if I should even be doing sit ups.

SITUPS DONT GIVE DEFINITION AT ALL, ITS ALL DIET, LOWER YOUR BODYFAT TO SEE ABS FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK.

oh lol
situps actually don't do shit for your core strength and are exercise for stupid dorks e.g. the majority on /fit/.
Visible abs = strong abs + low bodyfat - true.
Try low carb diet and some hard*core* shit like dragon flag or renegade row with 25kg<

sit ups and crunches suck, hanging crunches are much better. but>>83017is right. lower body fat is the only way to really see a six pack

Renegade rows and dragon flags...LOL, beginner exercises there champ, handstand clapping pushups for shoulder strength tbh. Do hanging leg raises or knee raises if you can't manage straight leg yet to parallel and roman chair situps (put sandbag/lotsofweight on shins, hang core off of table, hold weight, raise up).

Situps are fine, just don't expect to go "OVER 9000" with them and expect a six-pack.

Incorporate leg-raises, knee raises, oblique crunches, and bicycle kicks.

Also, proper nutrition + HIIT cardio. High intensity interval training for 20 minutes 3-4 times a week is plenty enough. You see those joggers looking all ripped and defined? Not exactly.

Train with maximum intensity and variety = profit.

Good luck...

Dragon flag is pretty hardcore, but renegade rows are perfect exercise even for beginners since you can adjust the weight instead of losing hours with sit ups shit.
