Sup /fit/

I'm fresh off a weeks break from working out. Before the break i was on a 5-day split routine but now I would like to mix it up and try something different.

What plan/routine does /fit/ suggest?

I usually do the 3 days on 1 day off, but sometimes I go 4-5 days on 1-2 days off if I get bored at home.

One time I actually went 12 days straight on full intensity because I was going on a 4 day trip and didn't see any sign of exercise. felt like a champ after that trip though. On the 8th day I felt like death, by the 12th day I was literally doing weights and reps of workouts a lot lower than I usually do because I was exhausted so easily. I wouldn't attempt this unless you're pretty experienced

2 on, 1 off, 2 on, 2 off.
your body never habituates to that. mix up the routines across the 'on' days every few weeks. for instance, one I like is this: chest; back; off; legs; shoulders and arms; off; off. alternately: chest and back; legs; off; shoulders and arms; power compound movements (deadlift, clean, etc); off; off. another idea: chest; legs; off; back and biceps; shoulders and triceps; off; off.

and every few months, you can go back on a 5 day split for a while just for fun and to keep your muscles guessing.
