Hey /fit/. Serious question. I'm 5' 11'' and am 220. I started out at 230 roughly around 9-10 weeks ago (approximately 1 lb a week) and have been very good about watching what I eat and alternating HIIT/cardio days. My question is that I even though I know that fruits are really good for you, can it also be bad for losing weight because of the sugar? I have a banana, then a peach, then an apple during my "snacking hours", and was wondering if this was too much sugar for me, because I wanna get to my target weight of 180. Discuss.

Not if you're not going over your calorie goals and you're eating right. Won't hurt a bit.

They are fine although try not to eat them all at once. eat small portions 2-3 times a day and youre fine

Firstly, well done, sounds like you are doing brilliantly.

And to answer your question, no harm in eating fruit as a snack, fruits are generally considered sugary, but also note that they are low GI foods compared to the obvious bad foods like white bread, and other processed foods, so they won't spike your blood sugar and cause the reaction that has given sugars such a bad rap.

Bananas have a GI of 51~
Apples have a GI of 40~
White Bread has a GI of 70~80
