I also only do bodyweight exercises. Chest, Arms & Back on Mon/Wed/Fri, Core & Legs on Tues/Thurs/Sat, and nothing on Sunday. If you do a full body routine every other day, that's just as well. Like previously mentioned, rest is very important. You just have to stick with it and not slack off. Over time you'll find out what areas to improve or new exercises to try out.
It took me years of experimenting with different routines to find out what works best for my body, my metabolism, and my schedule. I only work out 20-30 minutes a day, always before dinner so I never skip it, and haven't had to make any changes to my diet (I eat a lot of chicken and half a pound of pasta every day). I'm a busy guy & the less changes I had to make to my lifestyle the better, so I found something that worked.
Staying fit is not difficult, just takes commitment. Be patient, keep it up and see how you look in a few months, then you can determine if your methods & goals are in the right direction.
