to have lasik surgery or not? Katie
This website is pretty informative--has anyone had it out there? what did you think? I'm getting a lot of info from http://www.seewithlasik.com--have you seen it? good recommendations on doctors out there?

As far as I know, you get what you pay for.

Go to a GOOD clinic, with a doctor who has a good few thousand surgeries under his belt.

As far as quality of vision, they'll tell you how good they can get it. I know of several people who have had the surgery done, coming out with close to perfect vision and no complications.

I'd love to have this shit done, contacts piss me off everytime I wear them.

Also know, that Lasik does NOT always fix your vision permenantly. In some cases it lasts 2-4 years. I've personally never met some one with a permenant fix.

I know a middle-aged man who had it done and still needed reading glasses. But that was the kind of bad vision that appears as you get old and wrinkly, he said. He was just pissed off because he wasn't expecting to ever need glasses again, even when he got old.

Just wanted to throw that out there.
