Hey /fit/

I'm starting to lose weight, and I'm pretty happy about it, but then there's the stretch marks. Do they become less noticeable when you lose weight or do they show more ? Does tanning help ? Do most girls find this gross ? I have quite a few, none red, all white, and on my sides they go all the way up to my ribcage.

I live in Canada, is surgery a viable option ? Help me out mis/fit/s!

Ignore them, OP.

I have some pretty noticeable ones on my stomach and a little around what used to be my man boobs.

I don't mind them anymore because they remind me how far I've come. I've tried putting cocoa butter on them with little to no effect. I've just learned to live with them.

If you really want them gone, cosmetic surgery is the only option.

theyll go away provided your weight/size stays down

I'm pretty sure they NEVER go away, but I'd like to know if they become less noticeable if I become thinner, thus my skin tighter.

When I was young I was obese, like 200-250, more even, like 275-300 at one point. I never weighted myself but I was fucking fat. Now, I'm starting to lose some weight over the years, but recently with exercising and good eating I'm at 190.

I have several stretch marks on my legs and shoulders from when I first started to go through puberty and started working out. They fade over the years, but never went away completely. I've heard that tanning for a short period, then getting pale again helps, but I don't know. You shouldn't let it bother you though. Think of it as a sign of your accomplishment.

Well it takes a full 2 years or so for stretch marks that are newly formed to start losing its color. After that it will slowly fade and turn into a silver kind of color that matches your skin color. Don't worry much about it, just think of it like having a mole or some shit just ignore it.

You can scrape the skin down, like if you were getting rid of a tattoo, but you will probably make the problem worse. Repeat tanning/untanning can potentially get rid of it (forces your skin to die, rebuild, die again etc) along with cocoa butter.

Try that cream from Avon made especially for stretch marks. Helped out mines a lot. Heres the thing though

1.) it's a lot of money for some little small ass tube *$40*
2.) The fucker smells horrible and will give you a headache
3.) It'll make them fade real nice, but you'll still be able to see them in the shadow.

I still don't regret using it though. Give it a shot, and good luck.

Does it work on WHITE stretch marks ? They're fairly old.
