ok /fit/ I want to get strong without gaining a bunch of muscle mass. I don't care about having big manly muscles blah blah, I just want to get stronger without adding a bunch of size.
I think I've been going about it the right way, but tell me if I need to do something different.
Last semester I was lifting sets of 10, 8, then 6 on all my workouts. This resulted in me gaining muscle, but I wasn't really getting much stronger.
So starting in January I switched to lifting 3-4 sets of 20 reps and was able to go up a good bit on weight over the next few months. Actually I was able to lift more than I did on my 10-8-6 sets with reps of 20. My muscle got slightly smaller but a lot tougher and I was definitely stronger.
So if you're not bored and still reading, here is my question- should I just keep up what I'm doing to get stronger? Should I do even less weight with higher reps or what is your advice?
Thanks.

I also increased my cardio from twice a week to 5 times a week if that makes a difference, don't know.
