i must confess... pushups are not my forte... i can bench BW*1.5 (3*3reps)... but i can't do 10 pushups in a row w/o them going to shit...

i can do almost as many dips as i can pullups (I don't count either... it's an estimate)....but i can't do 10 pushups in a row before my arse goes skyward

i can do a plentiful number of swimmer pushups.... but the normal fuckers allude me...


help me /fit/! is there any hope for me to figure out what i'm doing wrong?!?!

You should take a picture of you doing a pushup.

You should have your hands right outside shoulder width and your back straight, toes digging or slightly bent on the ground.

1. Bench press doesn't workout your core, back and abs and pushups need more than just your chest, it also uses more triceps. so work on your tri's, back,etc

2. check your form while doing presses many don't concentrate on chest but shoulders and lift their backs too much. it's because your form needs lot of work. So make sure your shoulders are held back and blades are close together.

thanks that helped... it wasn't what you suggested, though...

i had my hands about a half foot to a foot to close to my feet (thus i killed all mechanical advantage)
