Hey guys, here's my story/ question.
I was dieting and losing weight very successfully by simply eating 1500 calories a day. One day I decided I should be getting some exercise too, because that seems like the healthy thing to do and it would burn more calories, so I joined a gym and have been walking/ jogging for an hour every other day, starting a month ago, but since then, I've only lost about a pound. So why did this happen? Is the extra exercise burning so many calories that I've gone into the infamous 'starvation mode?' To help myself start losing again should I just be eating more? halp etc.

You are gaining muscle.

yes this seems like the most likely scenario, your body fat % is probably still dropping, but weight loss will be slowing from muscle gain.

The only time something like that really happened to me, I realized after a week that I was completely miscounting the calories of one of the things I had been regularly eating. Like, "holy crap I missed a 0" miscount. I doubt you're in the same case, but you might want to evaluate the things you eat and make sure you're estimating the calories correctly.

Otherwise, I mostly agree with what everyone else is saying.
