i can run for miles and miles without stopping or getting tired. however, i can't sprint very fast. i can go for a full out sprint for anywhere between 2-3 minutes, but it isn't very fast. any suggestions as to how i jack up my speed? thanks /fit/

Sorry to say that your muscles are slow twitch dominant.

Best way to get better at sprinting is a mix of hill sprints, normal sprints and weight training (SQUATZ and others).

Means you're better at endurance type activities. It's genetic.

I see... i usually run about 6 or 7 miles about 5 times a week. so aside from spending more time doing sprints and doing squats, should i cut down the amount of time i do longer runs?

run a certain distance

If you want to be faster in sprints, you could try sprinting. DERP. A sprint is tops about 100 meters.
