Oh, and as far as exercises are concerned, if you have gym access or the capital for a good rack/barbell/weight set, look into Stronglifts 5x5 (google it, it's a very newbie-friendly program). Do big heavy compound exercises, start light, and use linear progression - increase your load not every month or every week, but every workout.
If you don't, you're gonna have to go to someone else for help, cuz I don't personally know a good bodyweight regimen.
