Why am I so exhausted when I wake up? Even if I get nine or ten hours, I can wake up with my alarm, but I'm still so damn tired that it's tough to just get out of bed. It's like I don't even have the energy to pull my sheets off, I just collapse back into my pillow. Sometimes I sit cross-legged in bed because "hey, at least I'm not back on the pillow," and I fall asleep THAT way. It makes getting out of bed sucky. On days when I don't have to wake up early for school, like the weekends, I end up going back to sleep like four times, a couple hours past when I wanted to wake up the night before.

Does anyone have this trouble, and have any personal workarounds or rituals they have to make it easier?

Could be a million things, honestly. I had to go to a doctor because I would sleep for like 16 hours a day. Turns out I have hypothyroidism.

Go to a doctor.

Stop being a lazy fuck. Everyone feels the same way every morning. Try getting some discipline and just hopping out of bed.

Serious answer: Everyone IS tired when they wake up, because your metabolism is at a low point. Yeah, it's easy to lay back down, but you have to fight through it. I deal with the same thing, especially when I have something important, yet boring to do within hours of waking up. My solution is to use my cell phone and set a good song as a ring tone, then just immediately throw off my covers and leap to my feet the second I hear the music. Then, I eat breakfast like five minutes after leaving bed to energize myself, and take a shower.

I highly doubt there's anything wrong with you physically, you're just giving yourself a mental block.

You're just sleep deprived. Try going to bed at the same time every night and wake up at the same time in the morning.

Somewhat the same with me except that I can will myself to go through my morning routine, but would still feel like shit until about after lunch or so.

Srsly, during mornings I am sluggish as fuck, poorly-coordinated, can't concentrate and grumpy as hell. Tried exercise, caffeine, energy drinks, big breakfasts, small breakfasts, slept before 12mn, slept after 12mn, loud music, positive thinking, etc. but nothing really fucking worked.

Wake up, hit the shower, ride bike to university. I also listen to crazy heavy metal music I usually don't listen to - to keep my mind off the cold bike ride. Other than that, go to sleep earlier and wake up, you donkey.
