Dieting is a pain. Anonymous
Hello, everyone.
I began a little more than a week ago a relatively strong weight loss program.

For reference, I'm 6'1, but I weighed 400 pounds.I ate a lot, I guess, but mostly it was my munchies, you know, 3-4 times a week I'd eat really heavy amounts of snacks, like a big bag of doritos with a thing of dip, and a whole 12 pack of oatmeal creme pies.

Anyhoo, one day I got tired of being fat, so I cut down on all that, and now I have a stable sleeping schedule, I exercise two to three 20+ minute work-outs a day, and I always do one immediately after waking up.My friends encourage me to do DDR, which I suppose it's fine, since It does say I've lost around 250-300 calories a session, but I'm distrustful.

It's my 11th day today, and I havent skipped a beat, yet. Still doing at least 1 hour of exercise a day, and I havent broken my diet yet. It's at 2000 calories on average.

Anybody got some hints or tips for a fatman on his way to losing weight?

When you say you're exercising, what are you doing exactly? I don't think a person of your weight should start running yet.

Remember to keep a log of what you're eating daily. Use something like fitday or thedailyplate. And don't lie to yourself when you're writing in your log.

You can reward yourself with a little something. People here usually have a cheat meal once a week to keep themselves sane.

Don't forget to drink lots of water. Learn to love water and drink nothing else.

Let's see. I weighed myself at 401' pounds.

(Great moment for self esteem- having to ask a butcher to use his weighing machine.)

So, it's been 11 days , like I said, and my diet is as follows.

I wake up, do exercise. Either DDR, or a old Aerobics Tape, or do squats, and jumping jacks what have you.My current stamina? 20-30 Minutes and I'm tired.

So, to compensate, I do it 2-3 times a day.
I attempt to count calories, to make sure I dont go overboard.

Eating healthier? Yes, gods, yes. I used to 3-4 times a week to go out, grab 2 2 liters, a bag of doritos or something, dip, and more stuff, that 11 days later, I find myself wondering at their calorific value.(Did you know that each Oatmeal Creme has 170 calories? Shit, I ate 10-12 in a sitting before...)

Nowadays,
I eat tons of vegetables(grill' em, or whathave you), fruits/special K for snacks,I eat spahetti often for lunch, and I eat only 5 small meatballs with each spaghetti meal.No more BK outings, ect.

Yes, It's a pain. I have to drink tons of water because I'm always hungry. I have to wait a while and drink water so the hunger goes away.

It's gotten easier as the time passes, though.

I feel pretty good, though.
I thought I'd discover some latent illness when I cut down on calories, but it seems my body hasnt fallen prey to anything yet.

I sleep a whole lot less than I used to though.I used to sleep 10+ hours...now I do 7-8.

DDR is a nice game to get the heart pumping. Stick to it if you find it fun. Yes, it does help people lose weight.

Dude, I know you mean well, but at this point, I get -tired- after 25 minutes of DDR on LIGHT.And you know you take around 10 secs of breaks between songs.

Running would give me a heart attack.

>>457942
Yeah, I did, last saturday, I ate me a nice three musketeers bar. It felt nice. But I also felt guilty, so I did extra exercise to burn off a bit of those 200+ calories.

I'll give myself something nice next saturday.

I'm serious, bro.

I know you think I'm trolling, but I'm really just sharing with you all and getting some input.

No, my friend, I dont do it religiously, I cant manage One hour and thirty minutes. But I do, occasionally manage three sessions a day.

I always manage at least an hour.

It's fucking hard and bothersome. And my body hurts a lot. My knees, my legs, my calves hurt. Every day.

But I guess god's helping me out, because I sure as hell havent managed to work this hard before.

Bad idea. At his current weight, he would probably break the platform for Wii Fit. DDR is still good for him.

I guess it's because of DDR. You do around 1minute or so of a song, then you can take a small breather, then continue,. I guess If I did 25 mins of exercise, I really did 20.

I couldnt manage 25 minutes on Endless mode. FUCK no.

You should probably lay off the exercise until you're at a comfortable weight. If it hurts all over after only 20 minutes of light exercise, you could be hurting yourself.

Maybe, but , doesnt that go counter to the whole, "No Pain, No Gain" mantra?

The pain isnt BAD like hard, dude. It's aches and pains, but they dont last long.Sure, occasionally they hurt somewhat, but it's ok, since it isnt that bad.

Plus, I'm actually feeling good doing some exercise.

I feel kinda worthless considering it's only been 11 days, but I count every day as a small achievement.

Considering that from whatever I've read,I was consuming before an average of 4000 calories a day to get to my weight, doing around 600 calories worth of exercise a day, plus only eating around 2000 calories a day feels like an accomplishment.

...I aint gonna see results in like forever, though...sigh.
