Help a fat guy out /fit/

I'm 16, 5"9 and I weigh 200 pounds. Everyday 7AM I wake up and walk my dogs out for 40 minutes. I run from time to time but most of the time just walking.

My diet is one bowl of cereal in the morning and I have one cup of rice per meal (azn). I avoid sugar and any softdrinks.

I'm hoping to be at least 180 before the end May. Will I be succesful?

do you think you could walk your dogs for 40 minutes every day and eat one cup of rice or one cup of cereal as your meals for the rest of your life?

if the answer is no, then no.

doesn't look bad... no way for me to say how successful you'll be though

What do you suggest?

eat what you enjoy but LESS OF IT. you'll never succeed on a diet if you despise every second of it.

just halve your portions. increase your daily exercise, eat less. small changes yield big results over time.

more physical work. Diet is good an all(now is it one cup of rice in addition to a mean or just the rice[if its just the rice get ready for some nutrient defeciencies and starvation]). But yea if you want to lose weight you have to DO something with the fat you currently have

Forgot to mention I eat some meats with the rice and mangos after meals.

What kind of additional physical work do you recommend?

by the way, this site is full of trolls and people who would love to see you fail. don't listen to what 99% of people on here say.

aerobics are great, but you have to also do a bunch of anaerobic, IE lifting weights.

I never really cared what I ate, only as long as I didn't have over 2000 calories of it a day.

if you can't spot the trolls, you're doing it wrong... on /fit/, most trolls have been reduced to a sad state of fail (because /fit/ is so easy to troll, the trolls lose their edge over time)

to OP
in general, try to get a fair bit of a variety of seemingly healthful foods.

rice is good (especially brown)
get some meat (mammalian meat is preferred)
fish are tasty (and provide Essential Fatty Acids or EFAs)
nuts (and olives) and their oils are excellent sources of healthy fats
fruits and vegetables taste great and give fiber, vitamins, minerals, and healthy sugars
grains (rice included) are a good source of carbohydrates
legumes are a nice secondary protein source
