Hey /fit/

Sometime last year, I mysteriously damaged my left knee. I didn't care much on the count of I am always sitting down in front of my computer.

Recently I've been interested in stuff like tennis and track. But I can't even think about joining them because I can't put too much pressure on my left leg, causing some pain when I try to run/jump. Luckily I have a fairly fast metabolism and I've stayed at a constant weight of 175 lbs. (I am about 5'11")

So I was wondering if Anon knows what actually is wrong with my knee. Could it be that I damaged a nerve or something? Will it cure naturally over time, if at all?

possibly torn cartilidge (pardon the spelling). Have a doctor look at it. If it's nothing serious, you then need to work on strengthening it.

Any details on how you actually injured your knee?

OP here.
Like I said, it was pretty much a mystery.

I remember being able to run and jump perfectly fine not too long before I discovered it hurt like hell when I tried to run across the street....crosswalk.

Worst case, I think, would be if it healed wrong because you thought nothing of it.

Go to a doc. If it was a nerve, and it was going to regenerate, it would have by now. If it's connective tissue, you're going to need some sort of strength building program. It's only going to get worse as you get older.

I blew the meniscuses in my knees at the age of 23, and I miss them dearly. There's so much I can't do these days because my knees simply won't hold up for it.

That really sucks. I will go see a doctor then, your experience really motivated me.

I really hope that ISN'T the case.

Well, thank you for the info Anon!
