So I'm going to be in a dorm and I'm all about canned foods. I'm in the process of putting on some muscle. What does /fit/ recommend?
I don't live in the USA so I couldn't name any specific products, but basically the same rules apply - anything that's going to be high in protein and low in carbs is good.
QUARK
Canned dicks.
>>204422Well, I'm thinking simply canned salmon (not mercury laced tuna), canned beans (not sure what kind), oatmeal and nuts would hold over a dorm-dwelling weight lifter. Right?
>>204437I guess that'd be fine.If in doubt though, you can always just go out and buy some protein drinks.
>>204437those are a good start.More variety though is needed, can't live of these alone.Nothing beats meat!Heinz baked beans are awesome btw.
>>204447But I'm sure they contain a dickload of sugar. Protein shakes were my thing when I was younger and just started working out. Cooked meals i could get at home. At dorm, all i can count on is canned food.
Yeah, a 5lb tub of straight up weigh protein should only cost ya about 20-30ish and would easily last your over a month, maybe two.
>>204483Are there any health concerns for whey? Like isn't there typically a large amount of sugar. Trying to cut down on sugar. Got a history of diabetes in my family and want to make changes while I'm young.
>>204503No whey man
>>204503Usually around 20-30 grams per serving for 120 to 150 calories, so not much sugar at all.
>>204507I fucking lol'd
>>204503Whey is derived from the milk-refining process...so there aren't really any health risks associated with it.
>>204524So check this. While at school, regular diet would consist of:Oatmeal, canned fish (mostly salmon), fruits and salads on a daily basis, nuts, PB&J, and perhaps Whey protein.
>>204534gonna be harder than you think.
If you're eating things out of cans and you're trying to put on muscle, tuna. Tuna tuna tuna, get the fuck over that mercury laced bs, eat tuna you pussy.Pussies are supposed to eat tuna. rowr.
>>204554That won't be all that I'm eating. just the majority. I'll find other good shit to throw in there.
>>204556Canned Tuna vs Canned Salmon. who wins in a fight?
>>204569Depends on what taste you like better. Have similar nutrition facts and are pretty much interchangeable.
>>204582I like the one with more cancer.
Canned tuna.Canned corn beef.Generally any lean canned meat (fish mostly)
canned chicken breast + mustard + pepper!
Canned chicken breast from costco. Nutritionally identical to tuna.
>>204606Corn beef? I thought that was a salt mine.
>>204612And less cancer.
Soy Beans -- 14g of protein, 8g of fiber, 5g of good fats per 1/4 cup of Edemame @ 140 calories.
I'm glad someone else knows of the glory of the costco canned chicken.
