It depends on several factors. Your current level of physical activity, your current muscle mass, genetics, your current diet and your weight-loss diet, how intense you work out, among other things.
At my heaviest, I was 275. When I tracked my weight loss from 225 to 195 I lost on average 10 lbs. a month with 6 times a week cardio (5K nearly every day on a rowing machine. Halfway through, 7.5K daily.) and a diet of no more than 2,000 calories a day. I was in horrible shape and had very little muscle mass.
Thankfully if you're very overweight the first few dozen lbs. are easiest. I'm currently 175 with good muscle mass, and cutting the last few lbs. is hard as fuck.
