What's up, /fit/?

So, I'm here to ask about diet. Not a diet, but dietary habits. I have a hard time finding a good way to eat. Exercise isn't a problem for me, since I'm joining up in a lot of different things, but food's not that great.

See, I have a schedule pretty set in stone. School and all, you know. As such, it makes it hard to eat six meals instead of three. Besides of which, I don't know /what/ to eat or how much. I know small portions, but how small?

I'm 5'9", female, 195lbs. I'm going to be doing fencing, belly dancing, and regular cardio/weight lifting. So what should I eat for this, and to lose weight?

Holy shit, you're fat. Quit the carbs, quit eating cheese.

Lots of high-protein stuff and cut the carbs. Have eggs or peanut butter on an apple in the morning. Avoid caffeine. Keep hydrated.

Common sense stuff, y'know?

>belly dancing

i can tell there's gonna be a lot of that

Small portions = no portion or scoop bigger than your own fist

Count calories. Whatever you eat, work off. You'll soon find out that in order to maintain your calorie input you'll probably end up having to run 3 hours a day.

So just cut blank carbs, try going a day eating nothing but protein shakes.

Use it. Love it.

1. Women aren't supposed to eat 6 meals a day, it's 5. 6 is for men.

2. Calorie-count.com Go there, make an account, track your calories. NEVER eat under 1200 calories a day.

Remember, you're supposed to eat more calories on days that you exercise than ones where you're sedentary.

But don't just eat high fat foods that stay under your calorie intake for the day. You HAVE to eat healthy. Whole grain pastas/rice/breads, vegetables, fruits, lean meats (chicken, turkey, fish) are essential.

Drink water. Lots of water.

A slightly more detailed meal plan.

Mornings: Life/Total cereal with skim milk and a fruit. Banana or apple or whatever.

Lunch: Some kind of deli sandwich. Turkey, ham, whatever. No sauces, load tomatoes/lettuce.

Mid-afternoon: Protein shake or fruit smoothie with a crushed multivitamin. Maybe put one of those 'women's vitamins', I dunno.

Dinner: Roast or steamed Chicken salad, no sauces, with water. Load eggplant and zucchini.

Night snack: Another deli sandwich with water.

This should sum up to roughly 24-2600 calories.

You shouldn't take the multivitamin.

Unless you're like. 60.

WTF SHE'S A FEMALE TRYING TO LOSE WEIGHT. 2600 calories is MAINTENANCE for a chick fatter than her! She doesn't need to be eating that much at all.

A quality workout schedule requires about that many calories.
>> Miss/fit/ !CX5ZjxjyRA

My ass it does! Maybe for a 300 pound woman but not 195 pounds. 2000 would be more like it but anything much more than that is just maintenance.

Ok fine, make those sandwiches half sandwiches, and make the shake half sized.

OP--

The thing to worry about is the quality of food you're consuming rather than the quantity, OP. Lots of fruit, lots of vegetables, some whole grains, some quality protein. Supplementing is another good thing to do. Try and find a health food store in your area-- many have an in-store nutritionist or managers with nutritional knowledge who can help you come up with an eating plan that works for you and possibly assist you in figuring out what you should be supplementing.

I'd tell you my eating plan but I'm 5'0" and 98lbs with a metabolic issue so my dietary and caloric needs are going to be significantly different than your own.

LOL bullshit. Everyone needs at LEAST a multi. You can't get all the nutrients your body needs from eating alone.
