something like that happened to me.. i stopped working out for like two days, i was fine, started again, it started hurting again, went to see a physiotherapist, and he said that i have a muscle imbalance, meaning that the muscles in the area that hurt are weaker then the ones in the front, leaving a gap or some shit like that.. then he gave me a fancy rubber band and told me to stretch it...
what a waste of time.
