Hello /fit/

A few questions I was hoping you could answer me. In return...sexy

1. For a few excercises, due to my home gym setup, I am between a rock and a hard place. Namely calf raises and abs. I've put a bar on my neck and done calf raises but usually end up doing about 30 reps before feeling anywhere near muscle exhaustion. Abs I use weight on my chest to make them harder, but usually do about 30. Should I do multiple sets of these high repetition exercises or just do one set until complete exhaustion?

2. When I started working out I was about 131 pounds. About a month later I am around 135. Is this normal? I felt very skinny before but perhaps I had more body fat than I thought? I was hoping to gain more weight...is it possible that I hit a hump where I've gotten rid of fat while gaining muscle and thats why I've only managed about 4 pounds gain?

dear op

tense up your stomach as hard as you fucking can... pretend like you've got the weight of the whole world on your chest and squeeze your abs while you do a situp. this will tear them apart and exhaust you more quickly.

also, eat more protein for question 2.

godspeed

thanks for the advice but...I don't need to know how to excercise, I need to know if High rep workouts should be done like 3x20 or 1x50 OR if there is any difference at all

dont just set yourself a number like 3 x 30

do as many 30 rep sets as possible go until complete failure.
