Hey /fit/

I know you get the "How do I lose weight" threads everyday, but I need a bit of help.

I'm 5'2 and in January I weighed 163 lbs. but by late April I weighed in at 185. I gained 22 pounds in three months. I didn't change my eating habits, and I didn't change my work out routine. While I've always been fairly inactive, I walk a lot, do sit ups, push ups, and a few other leg exercises, and I was taking a rock climbing class at the time (to overcome a fear of heights rather than for my health).

Accompanying my weight gain, I haven't had a period since March, and have taken three home pregnancy test, and one blood test and all four have turned up negative. Leading me to believe I might have a thyroid problem, something a few of my family members have had problems with. When I got my blood TSH blood test and turned up a result of 1.3, a healthy and very normal level.

I focused on proportions and lowered the mount I was eating, and I began to pay close attention to my caloric intake. I added bicycling (two miles a day), swimming (50 laps, breast stroke/back stroke), and jump roping (100-150 a day).

I weigh 182 pounds as of today, and I don't where to go from here, and was looking for a bit of advice.

200 calorie deficit will hardly starve you, hell its not even enough if you wanna lose some decent weight.
Go for 500 or more calorie deficit, I think we have found your problem

Good. So your doctor checked for diabetes?

If there is nothing seriously wrong with you, work on your diet. Not just portion control and calorie counting, but eating foods based on what they can do for you. Everything you put in your mouth should have a purpose that goes beyond hunger suppression.

Other than that, keep moving.

Calories = energy which is turned into fat when not used. The whole point of exercise is to burn enough calories that you go into a deficit and start burning some of the stored fat which is used as sort of a backup supply for energy.

We discussed that, and she didn't think that could be a factor so I was tested for it. Diabetes isn't common in my family, but I will ask about this again when I return to the doctor in two weeks.

It's called liposuction.
1.Cut a hole in your gut, shove your vacuum cleaner tip in there (powerhead attachment) and turn it on high.
2.????
3.PROFIT!

you might be allergic to something you're eating. i know i was and couldn't lose weight because my digestive system wouldn't break it down.

WTF. I read through a couple of those posts. Whoever wrote that shit thinks calling fat fucks out on their fat fuck ways is bigotry. And "fat hate". In fact they hated Wall-e because of all the fat-hating bigoted subtext.

What a fucking moron.
