Hey /fit/, I've got a problem. Whenever I try starting a diet, I can't really because most diets involve going the salad route. The problem is, I fucking despise lettuce - my least favorite food on the planet.

How do I diet without ever having to touch lettuce? Or any other leafy greens? Disgusting shit.

guacamole (fattening but good fats) and purple cabbage leaves or baked corn chips
hummus
babbaganoush
chicken soup with veggies
whole wheat pasta with mushrooms, olive oil, thyme, garlic, peas, etc
sauteed spinach and garlic
tomato and basil soup
whole wheat pesto pasta
marinated salmon and steamed asparagus
fruit salad
smoothie
wild rice with baked chicken and rosemary and steamed broccoli with coconut butter
veggie burgers w/ whole wheat buns, veggies, and lowfat cheese
vegetable and rice homemade soup
watermelon-tomato gazpacho
lentil soup
sauteed okra and tomatoes
ateamed kale with lemon juice and salt
grilled fish with vegetable kebobs

What is your normal diet? The goal really isn't to 'diet' but IMPROVE your diet.

It takes work on your part. Look up what you need to be taking in in a day and what foods provide that. Check out the local marts and see what you have at your disposal and work off that. From there you can develop recipes or ask /ck/ for help. I feel like a broken record saying it but cut sodas, they are a treat not a beverage. Control your portions. Coming from a hard core junk food fan I can say that limiting your fried or otherwise unhealty food intake isn't so bad when you get yourself accustomed to delicious vegetables. There really is no one diet. It's a combination of what is available in your area, what you do during the day to burn it off and what your taste is. It's hard work at first but what you're doing is reworking yourself to eat better. It'll be second hand in no time.

Eat whatever you want that isn't:

1. Processed
2. Fried
3. Contains preservative or HFCS

And as long as you work it off you eat whatever you want.

I tried salad diets too, fucking useless shit for bulking up.

I'm going to let you in on my top secret diet plan. It's called the "eat whatever the fuck you want as long as you consume fewer calories than you expend" diet.

Here's how it works: you eat whatever the fuck you want, making sure you don't consume more calories than you expend. Then, you lose weight. It is a miracle of science.

the whole wheat pasta pesto part reminded me of a thread on /ck/ damning whole wheat pasta. Personally I fucking love it but I was in the minority. OP don't force shit down your throat you can't stand. Experiment with healthier ways to consume food, find what you like and don't like. Don't feel like you have to stick with something because its 'healthy'.

Just don't eat the fucking lettuce. I never do, and I only eat salads when I can make em myself. Lots of broccoli and radishes and shit.
