hey /fit/, I'm 5'9, about 155 lbs and naturally skinny. I am starting to work-out but I am interested in how I should start. I have a thin layer of fat(im not fat or anything just a slight layer due to drinking) that coats me and my muscles are pretty undeveloped because I havent worked out. Im wondering if i should start out focusing more on cardio so that I can first burn the fat or should I go straight to lifting hard so I can build muscle? I keep getting mixed responses.

muscle increases your resting metabolism.

The more muscle you have, the more fat your body naturally burns (even when idle). Work on building muscle.
