just do the routine as it says- if you can do cardio in your offdays, then you need to be going heavier.

Dumb Question (Not Trolling)

I have never lifted weights in my life, and I am going to pick up this soon and a gym membership. Should I just read the book and do what it says as far as form, or hire someone to help me?

lurk in the gym, wait for a big guy to come and squat. stalk him for a few days- when he does ohp, ask if you can work squats in between his sets- he will say yes, and correct your form if you are polite.

what he means is that when you lift really heavy, you'll be smashed the next day.
If you can still do some cardio then good for you, but normally you'll be happy to just rest.

You don't need to ~hire~ anyone as there is a trainer that is supposed to help everyone in every gym
