Sup, /fit/? I'm not a hardcore as some of you, just a casual cardiofag, but is there anything that bad about white potatoes? I eat healthy enough and occasionally cave into getting a Whopper Jr once a month or so, but since I initially lost a lot of weight (4 years ago), a baked crimson gold potato has been a side dish on pretty much every lunch and dinner I eat. I could eat them for the rest of my life, but I was wondering...are they really as bad as a lot of people claim? I mean, back in the 90s, it seemed baked potatoes were one of the most hot button health foods, then 2000 rolled along and they became unhealthy overnight. What gives?

I never eat them with butter or fattening stuff, just a little pico de gallo or salt and pepper, just FYI.

as long as you're not eating potatoes and then sitting around doing nothing, you should be fine. it's a lot of energy, so long as you use it there's no problem.

I don't see how it's a lot of energy, they have 110 calories each.

110 calories for the little ones. Most potatoes contain at least 200 calories because modern potatoes are so ginormous. Plus, people usually don't eat them plain--they add butter and shit to them, turning one measly potato into a 300-500 calorie bomb. But, as with anything else, it's all about preparation and portion control; there's nothing inherently wrong with potatoes so long as you don't sit on your ass all day and eat nothing but.
