Greetings /fit/, lately I've been realizing more and more that my posture is horrible. In class my head tends to drop way down (I think this is largely so I can see my paper better), and my back tends to hunch. Any ideas on exercises or techniques to improve my posture?

Squats, Deadlifts and pullups. The idea is to train your back. Core work (abs, obliques) helps too.

i would also like to know this.
i have had bad posture for years.
it started back when i was fat to hide my gut.
but now that i am thin(ish) it just looks like there is somethig wrong with me.

little trick my mom used on me, she told me to sit up straight and then put a good sized piece of duct tape on my back. The choice was either keep my spine straight or rip out some of my hair (god it hurt at first)

your mum's smart, and kinda evil, lol.

To OP:
The duct tape thing actually sounds good (lol, fixes everything) but in terms of exercise that'll help:
Barbell Good Mornings
Barbell Dead Lifts
Full Squats
Chinups\pullups\tevs you call them
Rows

Make it a habit to stand up straight against a wall or something for a few minutes each day. Worked for me.

there is no reason for a beginner to do good mornings.

i prescribe

some would swear by a good ergonomic chair too, even though it's not standing, it helps

Sit on your knees with your feet under your ass when you can, like when you're playing videogames and the whole time just keep your back straight. As you keep doing that it gets easier and you are more win.
