Sup /fit/,

I've set some goals for myself recently, going on Creatine, looking to gain 10 - 15 lbs in 3 months (preferably faster). I looked around and found some pics of guys (models, mostly) I thought were big enough in my eyes, so I looked up their measurements.

Currently, I set the goal for 40'' chest, 23'' quad, 15'' bicep, while maintaining my 32'' waist. I'm 6'1'', 164lbs.

Are these reasonable goals? I'd say, pic is 100% related to what I wanna achieve. If this guy was 6'1, would the goals I posted match? Am I aiming too low? What does /fit/ think are proper goals for my height, assuming I don't want to be too bulky.

67" chest, 45" quad, 21" bicep and get your waist down to 15"

I lol'd

To OP, yeah, they're pretty solid measurements to aim for, and definitely reasonable, I'm 6'1 and around 180, I'd hit the quad\chest but arms are probs 14.5 not quite 15 yet, does it look alright? sure

still wanna make that a 60" chest 30" quad 20" arm, neck 22" calves and 16" forearms (fuck yes, forearms)

However, for your not-so-wierd lifter, your goals are very sensible.

thanks, you answered my question

are arms suppose to be flexed or unflexed? and is that biceps or forearms.

Upper arm (biceps\triceps) is measured in a fully flexed bicep pose (pic related) some measure in a fully flexed tricep, I don't know why, but the measurements you'd find on models is flexed biceps.

Forearms are measured around the thick bit bout 2 inches up from elbow, because you get best measurement of flexors and extensors.

15 inch forearms are big, 15 inch upper arms, are a good atractive kinda size.

pic is samir bannout, just a random shot of a pro doing a double bi to demonstrate (you'd measure across the biggest part, right in middle of biceps)

how much of an influence can you have on the size of your neck (excluding dietary weight gain)

Alot. There are various exercises you can do which specifcally target your neck. Weights on face etc. Google.

Not OP. But I've got a question.

Current measurements are

11.5 fore arm.
13.5 bicep
38 chest
28-29 waist.

5'7" 130.

for my height what should I am for ideally weight and measurments. I'm a bit thinner than the guy in OP pic in the chest. more shoulders though.

Depends how big you want to look blates

Like average build with definition. Like slimmer guy from 300. Instead of being half way between skinny and average right now.

I've never done any neck isolating training, but I've increased my neck by about 2 inches. This leads me to believe that working your traps has the most influence on neck size (my strongest and now biggest muscle).

You seem to like a fairly slender look, so your goals may be ok, but for your height and waist size you really are gonna want at least a 42" chest. You're still really really light for your height, so that's not an unreasonable (but maybe long term) goal. Other measurements look good...most guys would have smaller quads, but that's fairly proportional for your height.

I go off of http://www.exrx.net/Calculators/MaleGirthCalculator.html
It's more of a thicker look though; it puts me at 40" chest, 21" quad, about 14" bicep, but with a waist under 28". I'm right on for chest, quad, and forearms, slightly over for bicep and calves, but like 1.5" over on neck and 2.5" over on waist (when gaining, otherwise .5" over on waist). It would be nice if they had pictures of what someone with their proportions looks like. For you, I'd subtract a couple inches off what it tells you for chest, and an inch off what it says for biceps. You probably don't have to worry about your legs being too big since it's usually hard to tell on guys unless you're wearing a speedo.

I'm a little over 5'7" too (I made post 85048), but I've gotten up to 150 (started at 96). I think your stats are really good. I was about at that a year ago after cutting, and had a decent build. I'm going for more of a "that guy obviously works out" look than a average look though. For my small frame, an average build just looks super skinny once you put a shirt on and cover up your chest and biceps. I'm aiming for about 165 to maybe 175 for a final goal, cause I want chest to about 42" and biceps 15.25", and maybe 23" quads.

you will NOT gain 10-15 lbs of muscle in 3 months. sorry. if you could a lot more people would look like arnold. you can gain some fat, and i don't think you need /fit/ to help you gain fat.

I went from 149lbs in january to 164lbs mid april, thats 15lbs in... about 3 months. I'm not gonna lie and say it's all muscle, though. But that's when I started working out.

6lbs of muscle in 3 months would be VERY good, and thats with a perfect diet and good genetics.
