HEY /FIT/!

I am 5'4, Female, and about 200 pounds. My family and I are going away on vacation to a nice tropical place at the end of august, and I'd like to look at the very least DECENT in a swimsuit. Is that even possible within this timeframe? How much weight could I possibly lose?

I'm usually a terribly inactive hikikomori NEET, so I have no idea where I would even start aside from cutting out shit like soda and fatty foods. I cant go outside and run due to the fact that I dont really live in a safe area, as much as I'd love to do that. At most, I only leave the house once or twice a month anyway.

Help?

if you worked your ass off and severely cut calories you could weigh 160 by then but at 5'4" you won't look that good in a bikini

Uh if you can't leave your house then get DDR and some weights or something.

Buy a stationary bike, burn 600 calories/day, and eat like 1100 calories/day and you might be able to lose 2 pounds/week.

get the fuck out you fat fucking whale.

PROTIP: if you want to get in shape, do something about it. fucking whale.

You have five months until your trip, roughly 22 to 24 weeks depending on when the 'end' of august is. Safe, healthy weight loss is typically limited to 2lb a week. Going by that model your UPPER limit is 50lb. I have friends that are around your height and at 150lb, and they have a bit of meat on them but otherwise they look alright, GET TO WORKING!! If running is out then jump rope for an hour every goddamn day, and be ruthless on your diet: no fried food, no fast food, nothing with HFCS in it. Good luck and keep us posted anon.

cut out soda and fatty foods. eat way more vegetables and lean meat. you don't need to go outside to exercise, a lot can be done with bodyweight work - start with squats.

to begin, do 100 a day. take as long as you need. the rest will become clear in time.

there's nothing you can do to get the body you REALLY want by August, but you'll definitely be able to get some real results. this is a lifetime goal, and you can reach it if you work hard every day and decide to quit eating crap, PERIOD.

SQUATZ
>> Anonymous
Fix your diet (cut out the soda / fatty foods, bring in the lean chicken breasts / cottage cheese / etc).
Keep a schedule for your Calorie intake (reduce this as well)
Don't make-up excuses like "the gym is too far away" or "it's raining today" or "i don't feel like it" - find SOME way of doing cardio (Running always worked for me, jog if you can't run).
Go running in parks. helps you get outside as well as get in-shape.

P.S. research all this online if you have the time to be a Hikikomori NEET. Also watch Welcome to the NHK!

Your situation calls for heavy cardio, don't bother with any type of lifting or other muscle-building exercises. And you WILL need cardio, just dieting won't do jack shit for you.

a female friend of mine in a similar position had a lot of success by eating only fruits, vegetables and meat. cut out all processed foods and potatoes also.

thats the easy answer. if you want the hard one go over to tnation.com and get some basic physiology and nutrition.

She's 200 pounds and just 5'4....I don't think it takes a genius to figure out that they're going to be rolls.

Jog or Bicycle alot.
And eat healthy foods.

OP, you need to do a shit ton of cardio, calisthenics, and SQUATZ. Like you also mentioned, cut out the crap in your diet, and that includes diet soda as well. No more fried junk, no more sugary cereals, not too much starchy foods (especially if they're processed/bleached), and try to eat more green vegetables. You should also especially try to avoid carbs before you sleep; most of your consumption should be for the morning, as they help give you a boost in energy. When you do eat carbs, try to also make sure that they have lots of fibre, which is good for your bowels and helps to keep you fuller for a longer period of time as well.
Hope this helps!

They're just a really good general exercise.

You can expect to lose 2-2.25 lbs a week doing it healthily. If you're good you'll get 40lb off, 30lb easy. Won't look OMG GORGEOUS but it'll be a big improvement.

Sign up to a site like Calorie King and keep a VERY close eye on your food intake. Log everything the *instant* you eat it for the first few weeks and just try and do as much exercise as possible.

Try and do some basic exercises too. Squats, sit ups and push-ups are a good start. Important just to try and maintain your lean body mass.

As a 200 pounds whale, I'd say you're pretty safe from rape.

My sister buys her swimwear from here:
http://www.alwaysforme.com/swimplussiz.html

If you're short and tubby, get a wrap-style swimsuit, maybe one that will cover the first 5 or 10 inches of your thigh. That's usually a problem spot for plus size women. If you don't want to shop online, stores like Penningtons, MXM, and Addition Elle carry fashionable swimsuits that address the body parts that women are not so crazy about.

Also, a tip: it's not a diet, it's healthy eating. Diets project a negative image etc etc.

I'm 5'8" and 130 pounds, and even I look like shit in a bikini.

Just wear clothes and sit under an umbrella, the sun's bad for you anyway. Lose weight slowly so you won't get loose skin -- plus, if you diet too severely, you'll eventually break it anyway.

I tried to get anorexic-skinny to impress a guy, and ended up developing a severe binge-eating disorder that brought me up to around 145 pounds. Only moderation and ignoring that "I need to diet" impulse could lower my weight back to its natural set-point.
