I'm going out to buy new shoes today.

Could you recommend a good pair of shoes for somebody who likes running? I run 4+ miles daily

If possible, please do post the price of the shoes as well.

you need to buy a shoe that's made for your foot type. certain types of running shoes are made better for people with high or low arches.

as for purely a brand perspective, I prefer to run in new balance.

If you have a New Balance store anywhere near you, go. The one near me has been phenomenally helpful in keeping me in proper shoes for all of my activities. I cannot recommend them enough.

True, they are a bit expensive but they really will put you in the right shoe.

Pumas.

Fuck Puma's. New Balance is what I would go with, especially if you have a store around you that can help you figure out which one is right for you. It really varies based on your foot type, if you overpronate etc. Look for a store where the people know what they are talking about, not fucking footlocker, and you should be able to get a good shoe.

There is no one brand that is better for every runner. Go to a local store that SPECIALIZES in running and ask them. Make sure they get information on how many miles per week you run, as well as if you run on the inside or outside of your foot. If you want most stores have treadmills to test the shoe, which is always a good idea to make sure the shoe feels right.

Doing your research online before going is helpful too.

Can't say anything definitive, but I've never gone wrong with New Balance. Never put on a New Balance shoe that I was unhappy with.

I'd recommend the New Balance 1007 if you're a bit more on the "heavier" side and the Asics Gel Chemistry if you're not.
The Asics one is superb.

If you're a girl the Reebok Cardio DMX Micro is also pretty good.

It would really depend on what kind of surface you are running on in addition to what>>18642said. Find a Fleet Feet in your area and get a specialist there to help you out.

My own personal preference are Adidas Supernovas.

I'm a long distance runner, 40 to 50 miles weekly.
I pronate (bad arch) a little, but I run with Asics 2110's and 2120's. If you can find a pair of 2110's they're about the same, but a older so a little cheaper. 2120's run about 100 bucks, but last about 300 to 400 miles.

Don't buy anything with Air. Air cushions pop and then the shoe is dead.

For your mileage, try the Saucony Grid fusion. They are 60 bucks, and they will last quite awhile with that kind of mileage.

Saucony also makes one other shoe that is 50 bucks, but I can't remember what it's called.

I'm a long distance runner, getting about 70-75 miles a week, and I really like my Brooks Adrenaline GTS. Give them a try if your store has them. They are $95.

Anything Asics or Saucony are best.
