If you're a guy, you should reconsider losing that much weight.
Regardless, correct diet and cardiovascular exercise with some resistance training thrown in is the right way to do it, but it won't really be fast; you'd be looking better at about the six week mark, and you'd be "done" (meaning you'd be at the maintenance stage, NOT the 'return my old diet and exercise habits' stage) in ~3 months. You really don't want to lose more than 2lbs a week, otherwise you'll start losing considerable amounts of muscle, and you'll look just as flabby, just less muscular.
Try to keep your protein up, especially after workouts; keep the carbs low, except for meals before workouts. Make sure to eat your vegetables (seroiusly), your leafy greens, good fats, etc. Working out and dieting will really depend on your exact goals, and your gender, so you're going to have to do some research on your own.
Again, if you're a guy, you won't look the way you want if you just lose the weight, because you won't have a shred of muscle on you; bulking and more resistance training would be in order.
Good luck.
