Okay /fit/
i have a bit of a belly at the moment from about 6 months of only doing rugby training once a week (instead of the usual 3 times and a game). I've never had this before and was wondering if using my ab cruncher more often would get rid of this or would it just build the muscle under the fat and the belly would remain?
I'm 22 and in reasonable fitness.
any help or advice is appreciated.
cheers

No fat loss, just bigger abs. You need more cardio, once a week doesn't cut it.

ALSO SQUATS.

It depends on what you're trying to accomplish. If you're looking for general health then do both. If you're just trying to flatten your stomach then no. If you do crunches then your stomach will look bigger. Getting bigger abs just makes the fat go out farther looking like a bigger belly.

Fat loss doesn't jsut leave from the place it is worked. You lose fat everywhere on your body at once. If you did 1000 squats a day then u'd still lose fat everywhere, not just in the legs. The same thing works with abs. Just because you only work abs doesn't mean you'll only lose fat there.

Rugby is a great workout, not just running but resistance too. By cutting down on that you miss out on strength training too(from all the pushing, tackles etc.) So you need to run more and hit the gym. Or just go rugby it up.

CURLZ AND SQUATZ.

thanks again man.
guess I'll just have to go on a run in place of the rugby training.
just started a new job so can't travel across town twice during the week for training.
it sucks because I love my rugby so much and only training once a week will eventually put me down in the 2nd team.
Have to try and keep those 2 training sessions going just on my own...
Try and do what I'd usually do just without my coach/captain shouting at me!

This is a time I can honestly recommend SQAUTZ. Even with no weight. You need to do a lot of exercises to match what rugby works. Try to focus on your whole body, and eat a little better.
