3 months into it, progress(?) pics

I can't really tell a difference but the scale can, anyway I've been incredibly strict with my diet which is why I'm pretty confused as to how shitty my progress looks currently

Anyway, should I do HIIT every day or what other alternative should I look into to speed up things? I can't lift and can only do elliptical/stationary bike as far as cardio goes

week 1 pics btw

Why can't you lift?

Good job, your gut is much better now. Try to do HIIT for 4 minutes and see how it feels.

eat less. you're at a level of fat where eating like 1400 cal a day with just running will do you a lot of good to get down to 12% or so body fat, by which time you will have to lift and eat normally to look good finally.

Try running 3 miles a day, not HIIT. Once you're at a safe weight, try HIIT, but sandwich it between two smaller jogging sessions directly.

I have a TMJ disorder which is pretty much chronic pain from my shoulders and everywhere above that

his goal is to get me 100% pain free, and while I know lifting would cause me to be more sore than normal I think he is concerned I'm gonna overwork those already strained muscles and feel like complete shit ontop of what I already feel like for a week

tldr whatever I tried to reason with him he said no lifting at all, even running was bad due to impact but that's the only opinion I've gotten about it, though I highly doubt he gets many patients that ask him about wanting to lift

either way I'm going to see a physical therapist soon who will let me know more about what I can and cannot do

In terms of progress, it's hard to gauge, but I think you'd start looking really good in a few months. Just keep at it.

there's really not much you can do without lifting. Cardio and diets are temporary fat loss solutions, but if you ever go back to your old eating habits you'll put the fat back on if you haven't built muscle to boost your metabolism.

You say you have pain above the shoulder? consider doing leg presses or something, work the muscles in your legs at least as they'll help with your metabolism.

>I'm gonna overwork those already strained muscles and feel like complete shit ontop of what I already feel like for a week

in the long run wouldnt working those muscles out do better? yea it'll be increased soreness but at least they are doing something..

Temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJD, TMJ or TMD), or TMJ syndrome, is an umbrella term covering acute or chronic inflammation of the temporomandibular joint, which connects the lower JAW to the skull. The disorder and resultant dysfunction can result in significant pain and impairment.

I don't think thats what you have, if your shoulders are in pain

OP you might want to start supplementing your diet with fish oil caplets, it helps with joint inflammation to help with your muscle soreness, plus it helps with fat loss

>there's really not much you can do without lifting. Cardio and diets are temporary fat loss solutions

That's some bullshit. No one needs to lift weights. You can do cardio and diet your whole life and be in good shape. Diet meaning what you normally eat every day, not a weight-loss crash program.

If you want to lose weight, all you have to do is burn more calories than you take in. From what OP is saying he eats, it looks like you're going to get pretty burned out eating such bland fare. You can eat healthy, nutritious foods and still have variety and flavor.

Until you get down to your ideal weight, you don't need to eat as much food, and can let your body burn stored fat. Weights vs. cardio will come down to how you want the shape of your body to appear.

TMJ is completely different from 1 person to another, one could just have a simple pop or their jaw locks and the other can be in chronic debilitating pain

and pain that goes throughout your shoulders and so on, though that might be more associated with posture, which also gets fucked with TMJ

i think

you're just arguing semantics. I specifically said "if you go back to your OLD EATING HABITS," so my definition of diet was obviously referring to a temporary change.

A half hour of cardio and some light calorie restriction (about 200 calories less per day) will make you lose weight, while weight training will help you keep it off AND make you look good.

Go to asia, just came from singapore lost 8 pounds because of the heat. I was 19% fat at the beggining. Less meat and milk too. Dont need all that protein. Ive gone vegetarian 6 days out of the week. Going back to carnivore after losing more weight. I still cook steaks just dont eat them.
>> Anonymous
While I'd suggest going to Asia too if you're the traveling type, if you're currently strapped for cash just become an vegetarian for a while. No need to go across the world, just the market!
