Muay Thai will kick your ass so you can kick everyone else's asses. I also highly recommend Jeet Kune Do, which in itself is a mixed martial art and designed to be the most efficient, no-frills method of combat possible. It's not as physically demanding as Muay Thai however. It depends a lot on your build and what you're looking for. Muay Thai is definitely a hard style, i.e. it involves breaking bones and beating the shit out of people. Aikido on the other hand is an example of a very soft style that, if you get really good at it, allows you to disarm and incapacitate your opponent without striking them. Judo and Tai Chi Quan are also soft style examples. For weaker guys, soft styles work well because they take advantage of the opponent's force and momentum in order to take them down. This way the opponent's strength is used against them. Also, inb4 massive flame war.
