Is it me or has the height of this generation increased dramatically? I stand at 5'9 at 18 years old. Everyone around my age at my current college seems to be of at least 6' or over. If anything, I seem to be of the average height for the girls.I know there's no feasible way for me to grow taller, so there's no use complaining, I'm just wondering what /fit/'s input on this is.
I know what you mean. I visited a house built in the 19th century and you could see by the height of door's handles that people were indeed shorter during these times. It has something to do with genes and alimentation obviously. It is said that a country's social prosperity can be measured by the height of it's citizens.
People have better diets now then they did in the past due to transportation having improved greatly. People also are more familiar with the importance of calcium and such and why they should get plenty as they're growing up.
Lithuania fag here.In the middle ages, the standard lithuanian warrior armor was designed to be worn by someone who is ~160cm tall. Now, over 1/3rds of the males in my class are ~2 meters tall.
