Hey /fit/, I'm currently trying to lose weight, I run or do yoga every morning, just became a vegetarian and started eating healthier, etc. etc.

One thing I've noticed is that everyone in good shape seems to exercise before breakfast. When I wake up, though, I'm always fucking hungry, so I usually eat breakfast and then go running. Is this bad? Is there a legitimate reason to exercise before breakfast?

No, eat whenever the hell you want.... I eat DURING exercise... Clif shots are the only thing that keep me from bonking out if I'm really pushing it.

Eating before you run will make your stumach hurt like shit and make you have stings in your sides if you run for a while, running with an empty stumach is WAY better, and you'll run easier

I HATE running in the morning.
If I eat, I get sick.
If I don't eat, I get sick.

Fuck you, mornings. Fuck you.

exercise after you have eaten. The food in your stomache gives you more weight and therefore a better exercise.

For fuck’s sake, use some common sense.

Bottom line is this: If you work out before eating you have nothing in your stomach for your system to turn into fuel and immediately start the post-workout recovery. Blah blah blah
If you eat before working out, don't be a douche and eat something light, so you're not getting sick and that way your system has something to turn into fuel to keep you working out longer/more consistently. Blah blah blah

Something like this isn't uniform among all humans. Try something for a few days, if it doesn't work, make some changes until you find a routine that works for you.

I've found that eating some yogurt and half of a PB&J sammich an hour before I workout keeps my energy levels consistent while not making me sickeningly full when I'm about to do some cardio.

Is that THE healthiest possible pre-workout snack? Fuck no. But it's something I don't dread eating, it gets the job done and helps me lose weight since I don't over indulge after my workout.

Long-winded response is long-winded, i know.
