hi /fit/ Im training boxing and right now trying to gain muscles. Should I drink a protein shake before going to bed? what is the best thing to take before going to bed?

Strength train 4 hours before/after your boxing practice if you do it often or on days you don't do it. Drink shake after strength training. If you are trying to make weight you will need to do this otherwise just take it after your boxing practice.

You should probably get some Casein protein to take before bed. Whey protein is digested quickly and has either been used or delivered to your muscles within an hour (and is perfect for post-workout), but Casein slowly digests over about 4 hours. Drinking it before bed will keep your muscles from getting too hungry.

To gain muscle, you lift weights or do bodyweight or some shit; strength train.

You probably know about eating; whey is good an hour before working out and immediatly after; what you want is a tub of Caesin; ON makes caesin in the same size jug; just not in the same amount of flavors. Caesin is also hard to mix up, get a blender. and for the love of christ, don't mix it with milk, you'll never be able to actually drink it.

You don't need fuckin casein. Whey is for smartbomb after intense training and food is the rest of the equation. As long as you eat during the day you don't need to eat anything before bed other than dinner. The smartbomb whey should take care of the intense training for the day.

Eggs are a very fast digesting protein; as is whey; it takes 2 hours to absorb. If you sleep for 8 hours, thats 6 hours of your body being hungry.

i used to be like this years ago, BCAAs when i got up to piss, slam a whey the second i get up, 2 scoops micellar casein @ bedtime.
