Pic unrelated. So, I've never worked out, exercised, or posted or look at /fit/ before.

Can someone please explain the difference between bulk and definition? Like they say doing short sets of big weights makes you bulk up, but doing long sets of smaller weights makes you get definition? What does each mean?

I should go for the don draper build and look.

Muscle is muscle. Your body fat, body structure, diet, weight, height and what not depends on what you look like.

Eating more, working harder, will get you bulkier. Eating not as many calories, not pushing as hard will still give you muscle while removing body fat, giving more more definition or a toned look.

holy shit. don draper is short as balls.
>> gay
low reps (1-5) = focus on strength
high reps (8-12) = focus on size

either amount will give you strength and size, how many you do depends on what you want more.

how bulky or defined you look is irrelevant of how many reps you do, it's how little body fat you have.

fuck, why didn't i just troll this thread

it must suck to be that short.

How am I trolling? He said it gives you a more toned look.

Why should I do more reps in less weight, which takes longer, to get less muscle. Don't I WANT to get more muscle?

Bulk means muscle mass, not strength. You bulk, you look like a football player. Defined, you look like Bruce Lee.

THANK YOU. Why would I want to look like Bruce Lee?

What are the benefits of definition?

You look really muscley.

Also these faggots seem to be confused. Bulk is when you look bulky. You know that word? You can be bulky yet have definition.

You're still fit enough to run. Only prison guys or "supplemental" abusers can keep up the bulky and defined look because of the time and effort it takes.

so bulk is to build mass, including fat, but alot of muscles

and definition is to build a bit of muscles but alot of fat?
>> Anonymous
>>458791
sorry, that should have read
"and definition is to build a bit of muscles but LOSE alot of fat?
>> Anonymous

you don't build fat with definition. The idea is to burn the fat by staying with a low carb/fat diet and letting the muscles do the work. You can do the same thing by bulking then cutting.
