Hey /fit/,
I just bought a set of 40lb free weights.

What types of lifts should I be doing to tone my chest and add some definition to my upper body in general?

I don't want to bulk up

Squat:The exercise's main emphasis is on the quadriceps and the glutes, but it also involves the hamstrings, the calves, and the lower back.

i have a set of free weights where you can change the amount of weight on them, similar to how one would use a barbell. you just have to have the weights...they can be anywhere from 5lbs to 60+

there's nothing wrong with lifting lighter...40lbs is probably way more than enough. lifting medium increase both size and strength while lifting heavy just increases size.

they were $60 at kmart

how often do you see people lifting 40lbs in exercises that use free weights? these weights can't be used for that much since they're so big...i mean, outside of curls and similar exercises, op probably isn't going to be getting much use out of them.
