I understand that a dumbbell bars are straight which I use for bench pressing but for curling the bar is bendy, what is the significance of this?
Just something that puzzles me

you can also curl with flat bars, just tend to hurt alot more in your forearms

Bended bars are for more ergonomic grip, so it doesn't hurt your forearms.
