hey /fit/. I realized that in order to do some costumes next year, I need to loose some major weight. Now, I don't want to be rip, but I don't want to be morbidly obese like I am now, so what do you recommend other then your typical response of walking and doing ab work?
>> Anonymous
I recommend you rapidsearch "Burn the fat, feed the muscle" by Venuto and visit Stronglifts.com and start the 5x5.

This is why I hate 4chan. Does EVERY FUCKING PERSON have to have some mental condition or be a fat fucking social reject. You fucking fatass eat healthy and work out that's how you lose weight! What more do you need to know you piece of shit

if doing ab work is the typical response to weight loss questions, this board has sunk further than I thought
>> Action Master Anoymous !M.p5W8L5EM

actually, the last few post are the typical responses it seems. I did find this that seems to be usefull:

Good job! Next time do your fucking google search before making a retarded post explaining how you know everything but basically are too weak and unmotivated to do anything about your problem. Save everyone the greif and stop posting.

I'm glad you think that site is what you're looking for, and you did it all without making a useless post on 4chan! Wait... fuck.

You are garbage. Period.

I dont get why fat asses say they dont want to get "ripped"? It is not as if you go exercise three times a week you become a bodybuilder. fuck.

okay here is some advice: dont fucking walk moron RUN RUN RUN
>> Action Master Anoymous !M.p5W8L5EM
>>231326
ok, running sounds good, but how long should I start with? a mile or 2? or what?

as far as getting ripped, well, I don't want to get like Hardcore ripped like having 6 packs, but to at least look health build. Funny thing is my arms are pretty big, a bit flabby, but i can still lift like 40 pound weights with some ease.

attn angry douchebags on the internet: this forum is made for dumb questions.

>>231337
40 pounds is nothing when doing curls, my arms are way smaller than yours and I curl 70lbs.

To loose weight you need to do atleast 1 hour of cardio every day. Cardio being getting your heart rate over 150 bpm. If you are working that hard youre not doing anything. Also stop eating fast food, and all shit. If you tell me you dont do that youre a liar. So. stop.now.

but we get the same questions non stop all day

I think they're just setting the bar low with some realistic expectations. They're not trying to be fitness models, just not overweight anymore.

Kinda like a guy who wants to play Guitar Hero on Medium now and then versus the guy who wants to FC everything on Expert.

But if you set a higher goal when you fail like most fat people do you'll probably be farther along, because if you say I want to lose 30 pounds over a year and only get half that you only made 50% of your goal, if you said 60 pounds over a year and failed at 50% you'd have lost 30 instead of 15

It's always better to set goals just out of reach and try to push yourself towards them no matter how unobtainable they seem.

ok, the fastfood I will agriee that does kill me and my plan does cutting it down to once every 2 weeks. I agriee about the cardio, i've had some success with doing some crunches and some abdominal stretches with a few free weights and some leg presses to do some work on the legs and I would do like 30 minutes on the Eliptical for cardio. Should I do that before or after my workout?
>> Anonymous
>>231381
No leg presses! DO SQUATZ! do you weight lifting before cardio. that way you can lift better.

listen dude im be nice for a second. you need to lift weights, and increase muscle mass. that does not mean getting ''ripped'', simply having some developed muslces. the more muscles you have the higher your base metabolic rate will be which means you will burn more calories just sitting there then you would if it was just fat. you really need a weight lifting program and then add in cardio on the days you arent lifting. by doing a 5x5 routine three days a week and cardio on your off days and eating healthier you should start to notice results in 3 weeks.

well, thats the ideal weight I want to be at. My plan is to go from 280 (where I am now) to 220 sometime in March or may and then aim for 190-200 around December of next year.
>> Anonymous
>>231417
That is a very reasonable time line.
>> Action Master Anoymous !M.p5W8L5EM
>>231429
well, I figured that it takes a month to loose 10 pounds at the least, so i'l work around that. What Im more focused on is loosing inches off my waist, cause I can loose all the weight I want from weight cutting, but that wont be enough inches wise. I can be hovering at 240-230 and shead alot from my waist. When I was taking Judo, I was 220-222 and I was pretty thin for a guy my weight.

>>231443
loosing inches off your waist is all cardio. you can not spot train your abs.

To OP: Stop kidding yourself. Tomorrow you're going to do the same thing you did today. Enjoy your costumes that will never fit you.

I always figured that if you did some abwork in conjunction with Cardio the fat would burn off properly. Oh well, thats what I came here for, to prep a better work out schedule and routine.

If you liked judo, get back into it. It helps a ton seeing other people in great physical shape and interacting with them. Going to the gym and seeing fit people left and right motivates you to become them. They're just like you, except with a head start. It's also a great supplement to your normal exercise. Get back into judo because it's a lot easier to "work out" if you're having fun doing it.
>> Action Master Anoymous !M.p5W8L5EM
>>231619
well, I wish I could, but I broke my arm while doing judo because of a stupid mistake and I don't want to bare repeating what I did again, so i'll just work out in the gym, listening to my Ipod and ignoring the populous as I do my work out at my own pace.
