Motivated fatty Anonymous
Hello,
I am a 25 year old girl who last year was 146kg (322 pounds). I started my weight loss slowly but in the last month I suddenly became extremely motivated and am working much harder.
Currently I am 113kg (250 pounds).
Basically I thought I would tell you what I am doing and maybe you guys can tell me if there was something more/better I could do.

About 6-7 times a week I go to the gym for 2 hours. 30 mins elliptical, 30 mins upper body weights, 30 mins treadmill then 30 mins lower body weights.
3 of those days are different as I go to a Boot Camp style training program which is a lot of cardio type things for about 1 and a half hours, then I go to the gym and do my ~1 hour of weights.

After each workout I drink some of the protein powder pictured mixed with water.

I have also been reducing my meal sizes (I have a problem of having to eat everything on the plate), eating more fruit and veges, and not eating any junk foods or bad snacks anymore.

Is there anything else you need to know to make an informed judgement?

Before people jump in trying to tell you suggestions and crap, all I want to say is well done and keep at it!

You have the most important part right there - motivation!

fuck you aussiefag

Hey thanks for that.
The more motivated I got the easier it was to get motivated.. if that makes sense.
For example, the harder I worked at the gym the easier it was to not wanna eat bad foods. It felt like a big waste to spend 2 hours at gym then eat some chips or whatever.

Oh I forgot to say, I also drink a lot of water. In fact I pretty much only drink water.
Man thinking back to how I used to be I can't believe how little water I used to drink.

How fast do you eat?

I'm a fat fuck too and recently i've not been eating as much bullshit or anything by eating slower. I find that i get full alot faster this way.
(I've gone from 273lbs to 238lbs in a month or two)
>> Anonymous
>>405564
Hmm that's a good point, I eat pretty fast.
But I deal with it by if I am still hungry after food I just drink water or try and distract myself until the "full" feeling comes.
Is eating too fast bad for my metabolism?
>> Anonymous
>>405568

Not sure, i rarely find myself feeling really hungry at all since i started eating slow though.

Apart from eating smaller meals more frequently rather than a few large meals to speed up my metabolism i've not really changed my diet much at all though.

Avoiding junk food has been fairly easy for me, i just tell myself that if i binge on it like i used to i'm never going to achieve my goals.

(I'll maybe hit up a bag of crisps or something every now and again when i'm at the pub or something with friends though.)

Apparantly i've started saying 'though' alot now too.

Try to ignore that, it looks fucking stupid.
>> Anonymous
Eating fast usually means that you chew less. Chewing sends signals to your brain telling it that you're eating, so more chewing will make you feel full sooner.
>> Anonymous
>>405570
I just googled it up and it says that apart from the fact that it makes you think you are not full for a while, the main problem is the food doesn't get chewed properly.
If it doesn't get chewed enough it doesn't digest properly so you don't get as much goodness from the food.
How did you train yourself to eat slower? I remember trying it a few times but it getting really boring. Any tips?
>> Anonymous
>>405575

Eh, i just distracted myself. Watch TV or read a book or something as you eat, after a while eating slow just becomes a habit.
>> Anonymous
Normally in the past when I have tried to eat slower I just keep forgetting. Maybe this time I will try and just chew more instead of concentrating on slower. Thanks for reminding me the usefulness of chewing!

About the other stuff I do, I know for bulking up you need to take rest days, but for mainly weight loss with a little bit of muscle building is it okay to work out every day?
>> Anonymous
>>405580

Noone else appears to be answering, so the slow eating fatty is back.

I personally only go to the Gym 3 times a week, i imagine if i was going like every day i wouldn't put as much in because i'd be constantly feeling the drain from the previous days.

3 sessions a week at about 1-2 hours a time exercising my hardest has suited me so far.

I reckon just do whatever you feel comfortable with though, if you notice that you're not putting as much in in your later sessions try and cut back a bit?

Thanks slow eating fatty, reading your replies gives me a nice break from studying.

I think I push myself the same hardness each time. Of course during the boot camp times I push a bit harder because that is the nature of the programme.
I think I am pretty happy with 6-7 times a week cos I find if I can't go for whatever reason, it makes me start feeling bad.

There's over 9000 things wrong with your workout, and I'm surprised that in a thread this long, no one has pointed any of them out.

It just sadly goes to show that /fit/ really is full of retards who know nothing about exercise.
>> Anonymous
>>405595
Can you please tell me a select few of the things wrong?
>> Anonymous
>>405598
Where should I start?

1. Never go to the gym for longer than 60 minutes
2. Never do cardio and weightlifting in the same session
3. If you can visit the gym 6-7 times a week then you're DOING IT WRONG
4. Protein is for bulking, not cutting. Keep taking the protein, but get some cutting supplements as well
>> Anonymous
>>405602

What are you talking about? Doing Cardio and weight lifting in the same session is fine.

Thanks for those. Here are my replies.

1) when I joined the gym I got a program by a P.T that included stuff to do for 2 hours, that is why I did it. I'm not saying P.Ts are gods, but just explaining why.
2) How come you don't do cardio and weightlifting in the same session?
3. I stretch a lot so I don't often have soreness. But I am always drenched in sweat after each workout. Measuring the hardness you work at the gym based on soreness is like measuring how drunk you are by how much you spew.
4. The Protein I have has weight loss things added to it. I do like weight lifting a lot though.
>> Anonymous
also my friend gave me a heart rate watch for my birthday and my heart rate always stays in the "weight loss" zone or whatever.
That is why I didn't think I was doing it wrong, but I could be so thanks for telling me.
What sort of things should I be looking for to know I am "doing it right"
>> Anonymous
It could be worse, it seems you're losing weight at a healthy pace.

Hell, with 2 hours work daily-ish and 113kg you sound like a rather muscular girl.
>> Anonymous
Ignore the guy who says you aren't doing it right.

If your heart rate is in the weight loss bit and you're obviously losing weight i don't see how you could be doing it wrong.

Hey,

Firstly I want to say well done for doing as well as you have done. It's incredible for somebody to lose all that weight (I hope this doesn't offend you).

I was wondering if you'd mind me adding you to msn? I go to the gym and it would be really nice to speak to someone who is motivated.

Obviously it's fine if you don't want to. This is 4chan after all.

>> Anonymous
>>405772
Yeah? So you're saying that exercising at a slower pace to keep your heart rate lower is the best way to burn fat? Uh-huh.

Who's the fucking retard now?

He was raging at someone saying:

>>Ignore the guy who says you aren't doing it right. If your heart rate is in the weight loss bit and you're obviously losing weight i don't see how you could be doing it wrong.

The "weight loss zone" is a myth created in the 90's that claims if you keep your heart rate at a medium pace rather than a higher one, you'll burn more fat.

And you're called him a retard. Therefore, you must believe in the myth. Which is why you're a fucking idiot.

Heart doing more work=heart using more energy=OBVIOUSLY LOSING MORE?
>> Anonymous
>>405758
Sure i will add u, what is ur msn address?

>>405801
I don't know much about stuff, only what the trainers at the gym say and some stuff I pick up from here (when it isn't all crazy contradictionary).
What I meant by "weight loss" zone is that when I had an assessment the P.T did some calculations and said "here is the heart rate range you should be in to be losing weight, it is fine if you go above it but if u find yourself going over XXX stop and find a trainer cos that is dangerous"
So I sorta thought of it as a rate that my heart should be above, not one that is limiting it.

Sorry but I know my little sister looks at 4chan.

Hey slow eating fatty, wanna give me your msn as well? Then you, "unmotivated" and I can be all chatting and such :D

Slow eating fatty here,

Nay, I don't venture into the realms of MSN often....sorry (Only really use it for e-mail checking and the like.)
>> Anonymous
>>406071

I don't go on msn much either, only to talk to my sister.

anyway, it's 5am, off to bootcamp
>> Anonymous
hmm if anyone is interested I had an assessment today. I shall tell u guys as I don't really have any friends who would be interested.
I have no idea what my measurements were when I was 146kg but in Feb when I was 133kg my measurements were:
Chest: 132.2cm
Waist: 119.2cm
Hips: 142cm

and today they are:
Chest: 123cm
Waist: 110cm
Hips: 132cm

>>406936
I am putting off working on an assignment so I converted them to inches for you people who use them.

Feb:
Chest: 52"
Waist: 46.9"
Hips: 55.9"

Now:
Chest: 48.4"
Waist: 43.3"
Hips: 51.9"

Slow eating fatty again,

that's pretty good progress...i've not really measured myself that in-depth but i've a few inches off my waist as trousers and shit are looser.

Nowhere near as much as you though, congrats...
>> Anonymous
You dont drink protein shakes if you're tying to lose weight
>> Anonymous
>>406986
Thank you slow eating fatty.
I tried to chew my lunch today more than usual.
But it ended up with me taking bigger mouthfulls cos the food was taking too long to eat.
I'll try to be less retarded at dinner.

I didn't measure myself that way, it is part of the gym I go to that they measure you everynow and then.
I wish I had measurements from when I was 146kg.

Grats to you on your pants loosening, have you had to buy new pants yet?

>>406995
It's more like I am trying to be healthier and lose fat, rather than lose weight. So the protien powder is for the muscles I hopefully am growing a bit. Plus it also has stuff in it for weight loss, that is why it is called "Ripped factors" (terrible name) cos the idea is people are trying to get ripped from it...
>> Anonymous
>>407001

Nah, my build is naturally stocky so a belt does the job fine without my pants ending up overly baggy.
>> Anonymous
>>406995
thats assbackwards. cut diets are comprised almost entirely of protein because it has only 4 kcals/gram. Furthermore, it is very satieting. Finally, of all the macronutrients, excess protein is the most difficult to convert to adipose tissue
