Hey there,
I'm a powerlifter too...made a lot of progress, but I still consider myself a beginner.
I can tell you though that powerlifters like you and me have an ADD like mentality (in a good way, though) that tells us to JUST GET IT DONE.
We look at our weights, and all we can think about is jerk, clean, and get it over with. We pay attention to technique, form, and most impotantly, SPEED.
This is why I like HIIT...worked wonders for me, and cut down from 13% to 9% in 3 months. Most importantly, I get results A LOT faster than low-intensity cardio, and I'm out of the gym/trackfield in 20 mins., tops.
