i bet i could drop down right now and do 100 pushups
>> Anonymous
heh i found out about it from /fit/ so i thought i wouldnt need to explain. hundredpushups.com its basicly a training program 3 times a week, where you do push ups 5 times that day, building up your number of consecutive push ups, and they claim that after 6 weeks most people completing the program can do a 100 consecutive, no matter with how many you could at start

So 3 times a week, 5 sets, just pushups, doing more and more each week? Yeah that'll work, can't see any reason it wouldn't.

I'm up to week 3. I don't think it's a good program at all, to be honest. But, I'm going to stick it out.

this shit builds endurance, not strenght

If your bro can't do pushups, start with crappy girlie pushups where your knees touch the floor, work up to doing tons of those because they are easier, then switch to real pushups, start off low, and work up. That's what I had to do when I was younger and really really weak, and it works if you're willing to put the time/effort into it. Then once you get some base strength you can move on to doing other things to get stronger, but it's still a good idea to keep doing pushups.

Well... I'm no expert but he would need to build up enough strength to support is own body weight. I mean he would certainly get stronger initially
>> Anonymous
i bet i can drop right now and rape your mom and whoop your dads scrawny faggot ass.

Fuck you I hate that shit on the knees, it's always been harder to me.

OP, before you start - know that you will get to 100 pushups with a LOT of muscle endurance. Muscle endurance is not muscle strength - not at all.

About the only thing being able to do 10 pushups is good for - is bragging rights.

I have done programs like this with some success - but one piece of advise is extremely important, you need to have VERY VERY VERY little fat, like below 10% (aka 6-pack) to be successful. The less fat you have, the less weight you push up, the easier it becomes.

ok i want to do this but im confused

I can do 20 pushups how many pushups would i have to do on day 1 im confused

I did the 2nd day of week 2 yesterday. I got a bunch of my friends to do it with me, so I know I won't slack off.

3rd column.....

replace all regular pushups with clap pushups and i'd say i'm around about week three. but then, this program looks shit.

i been doing clap pushups every day when i get out of bed, save for the days when i'm hungover, and every time i can do at least one more than last time. if i do it hungover i just want to vom.

I got bored at week 4 and started doing benchpresses instead. I could do ~70 before starting the program, but I didn't improve much so I thought better to focus on strength/power instead of endurance.
>> Anonymous
Doing it right now. Just finished week2. I'm re-taking the test tomorrow.

ok i see the third coloum so i do only 10 pushups on day 1 ?

whats rank for ?
>> Anonymous
I'm halfway in week two, and it's been pretty easy so far. They give you a lot of rest time, so it'll be easy for your brother. I'm making progress, and my maximum amount of pushups is increasing.
>> Anonymous
I have no idea how to read the chart either.

My initial push up test was also 20 what does that mean?
>> Anonymous
Did it. Advanced it. Doing 4*80 a day now.
>> Anonymous
>>280754
You do the third column. You do the first "level," rest for the allotted amount of time, then you do the second level, rest again, third level, rest, fourth level, rest, then do your maximum. Is it that hard to read?
>> Anonymous
I'm not being funny but you must be seriously weak if you need this program
>> Anonymous
>>281700
Most people are even weaker than the first week.

Halfway through week three here. Slowly gaining pecs, # of push ups I can do in a row has doubled.

However, some days I feel like I'm doing them too fast. I know I should slow down, and I'm thinking of repeating either week 3 or 4 and taking it slower the second time around. Slow + good form = muscle gain, no?
>> Anonymous
I'm doing the program at rest-days, as the first three weeks are quite light. I'm also using the same program for stomachs. Much improvement for me atleast, but it's no substitute for proper gym weight training.. More like an addition for versatility.
