I couldn't start a thread without including a picture, and I didn't really have one to fit the question I'm about to ask.

When doing push-ups, lately I've been feeling a cramp in my lower abdominal region. I'm not sure if it's because of the method I'm using, which I figured to be pretty standard. My knees aren't touching the ground, I'm doing what I can to prevent my body from being angular, and I try to brace my feet somehow so that my heels are at as close to a right angle with the floor as possible. Anyway, has anyone else ever felt that before? The cramping sensation, I mean.

In before Midol or any other insinuations that I might be menstruating, because I'm a dude. If I were a chick, I would have announced it in my opening sentence as they all seem to do around here.

So sit-ups would be recommended? I'm trying dietary methods as well, such as whittling my meals a day down to two, breakfast and a late lunch/early dinner, and not eating right before I go to bed.

Yes indeedy. Do some core exercises as well as push ups. Chances are the abdominal cramps are a result of a disproportionality. You'll wanna add in crunches, reverse crunches, and planks as well as any other core exercises you can think of (I don't know any lower back exercises offhand, only thing I can think of is good mornings without a weight).

I'd be surprised if a stronger core didn't solve your problems.
