so ive been dieting and excersizing for nearly a month now. ive been doing good, lost 15 lbs. but tonight i had a setback. my grandparents were moving away so my family threw a going away party. my whole family are fatasses by the way. and what did we have for dinner? bacon wrapped steaks, twice baked potatoes (cheese sour cream all that crap) and corn on the cobb, with no real salads or anything like that. oh, and cake for desert. i hadnt eaten since breakfast cuz i was at work all day, and had to go straight to my grandparents for the bbq. i was starving, and caved in. i ate 2 potatoes, 1 bacon wrapped steak, and 2 corn on the cobbs. i fucked it up. so my question is, what is the best way to turn it around? i know everyone has bad days. how do you guys deal with them? i dont have a problem heating healthy tomorrow, but should i starve to make up for lost ground? or what.

tl;dr i fucked up eating tonight, what should i do to rebound?

Fuck no you shouldn't starve yourself. You had a cheat day, you're not going to gain 5 pounds overnight because of it. Just keep going with your regular routine and you'll be fine. Maybe run an extra mile tomorrow if you can.

#1 eat lunch. Skipping meals in the middle of the day is the main reason you caved.

#2 Why, why why? How exactly did you get to the point of eating an entire meal and dessert before realising it was wrong? I can understand eating a snack that isnt good for you, but an entire meal is just beyond logic. Maybe its because i've been on the same diet for about 3 months and i dont cave now, i dont remember what the first month was like.

#3 Your family is ignorant. They may not want to lose weight, but you do. I have the same problem with my parents constantly buying shit i cant eat, they dont seem to understand how difficult temptation is.

Next time: take the bacon off the steak and give it to someone else, don't put butter on the corn, don't eat the potato. Sip water the rest of the time. Eat real veggies when you get home.

You can make your meals better for you anywhere you are.

OP here. i knew it was bad as i was eating it. i stared at it, smelled it, thought about it for a good 2-3 minutes and then said fuckit. i felt guilty, so when desert came, i had to bites of cake and put the rest back. so its not like i was oblivious to what i was eating or ignorant, just chose the wrong choise.

thats what i was thinking, but i wasnt sure. i felt so guilty afterward, and ALMOST regressed to "well fuck, if i fucked this up i might as well make myself a sandwhich and fuck it up some more" mentality. its been hard finding motivation and encouragement because yes, my parents constantly bombard me with food i cant eat. its been tough

i pretty much had the same issue, and it was fucking awful. i left for school, lost 50lbs, came home, gained 40 back over winter break, went back to school.. lost 60lbs came home and kept it off over the summer cause i got a job landscaping, but as soon as i stopped working in december i put it back on again.. its really frustrating :/

Man, I fuck up my meals all the time. Having bad shit around the house because my parents love fatty and sugary foods doesn't help even when I have my own fridge with healthy food.

Fucking sucks, man, but I fucking love strawberry milk and brownie fudge sundaes, dude. I TRY to limit it to once a week, but that sometimes fails. Not all the time; sometimes.

OP here. yeah, i feel like i took 5 steps forward this week (because i upped how healthy/often i work out) and took 4 steps back tonight. i feel almost at the begining again, and feel kinda like "wow, this is impossible."

Dude, I fucking feel you. Bodybuilding is like 80% diet and that's the hardest fucking part of it. It's tough especially when you just love really great tasting food. I eat 2 cans of tuna in vegetable oil every day (I drain the oil) and it leaves me craving some hulking piece of chocolate cake.

Its not going to happen overnight. I'm 3 months in out of about 7 months as a target to reach my goal, and i know every day it is difficult but you you will reach a point where it becomes easier and your general opinion is "why quit now?". Keep at it and increase you're cardio and start adding in more exercises to vary your routine.

I started doing crunches and situp's daily now, god crunches can be evil, like being punched in the stomach. Love that feeling from a workout though.

you should have enjoyed it, knowing that you aren't going to repeat this in a long time. THAT is willpower, and not worrying 'OMG i screwed up i'm gonna be fattie again'.

it was some special ocassion. just do it, enjoy it, and try to stretch your period between cheat days. just don't be a diet-fag when your best friend marries and throws a banquet.

theres absolutely fucking nothing wrong with eating a big kickass delicious meal, especially during some sort of gettogether or celebration. The only caveat is that it is obviously not something you should be doing every day, but as long as you are eating healthy and excersizing, it doesnt fucking matter AT ALL.

Enjoy your life and dont be a faggot.
