Hey /fit/, Asking for some tips here

I'm 6"0 and weigh 215pounds

I exercise at least an hour every day (walking, gym work, rugby training/competitive match, you name i do it) and in theory should be really fit

However, only my legs, shoulders and arms are toned, leaving me with a belly

I need tips on how to convert my fatty stomach to muscle

P.s. i eat fairly healthily as well

Fat retention is specific to each person. If you want to lose the belly fat you have to lose overall fat. But fat has it's uses. So you have to decide six pack or a layer of fatty protective goodness.

I'm loving this board.

I digress. I'd be interested to know what any other mis/fit/s would think of this particular issue. I'm 6'5", pulling in about 190 or 200 pounds, and although I can't say I'm toned anywhere else, I've always wanted to lose the belly. I've just never gotten around to it.

As far as I can think, it'd be the cardio stuff that would drop the stuff on the belly. A lot of people would say do X amount of crunches and such, but no matter how strong you are in your stomach and abs, you can still hide it with flab.

I'd say go rowing, actually. I did it for a few years and it dropped me from 280 pounds to what I am now (pounds are only an approximation, I'm an ausfag). If you're a pretty fit guy at 6 foot, do a 20 minute ergo and try and keep it at 2 minutes or 1:45 for a 500 metre kind of speed. That's the most intensive way to cardio I personally know.

I have a little of this problem. Keep in mind belly fat is actually a lot of water, so fitting in a standard 1 hour cardio - 1 hour lifting/sit-ups/crunches workout should clear it up.

increase ur cardio above what ur already doing (which sounds like alot so far) and look at increasing reps and reducing weight to work up a bit of sweat to lose some of that pudgy goodness, just remember to find a good balance and dont drop BF% too low

ps: love the new board

op here, this has been awesomely helpful so far

So basically, from what has been said - 1) do more cardio 2) do some more crunches/light weights on high reps

cos that sounds easy enough

(that's me in the pic btw)
Only problem is, i wouldn't be as cuddly :P

Also looks like you're pulling a boner in that picture.

The thing that killed me when I first tried to drop the gut was I kept drinking beer. It took me quite a while to realise what I had to cut in my diet to lose my beer belly. I was really that retarded about it. I thought it was a beer belly because it was like a 'not-so-six-pack,' but more of a slab.

I'm going to off myself now.
