On the left is brown basmati rice, on the right is white basmati rice.

1g more fiber. Whoop-dee-fucking-do. Whats the god damn point?

Agreed, anything but white tastes like fucking garbage.

The "misc carbs" in brown rice are much harder for your body to digest, therefore it will require some calories in order to burn them. White rice will just turn straight to energy (and then to fat when it goes unused) with little metabolic increase.

care to elaborate more on the misc carbs?

White rice has no flavor...brown rice is so much better.

Ahh, slow day. "Misc carbs" are the carbs that aren't fiber or sugar. If you'll notice the labelling, there are 35 carbs, around 33 of which aren't accounted for. Those are the "misc carbs" of which I was speaking. Not a scientific term by any measure, mind you.

I'm pretty sure those are mostly complex carbs.

Relativity. Brown rice's carbs are a great deal more complex than white rice.

Protip: There isnt as much of a difference between the two.

FDA regulations (in the U.S that is) state that nutrition is "put back in" to white rice. Look it up
