No way to lose weight without exercising except for starving myself?
>> Anonymous
Not starving... but dieting!

Heard that never worked, go fruits/veggies only?

You'll just lose muscle starving yourself. Just do some exercise you pansy, jogging is free and requires no gym

Weight loss can be done 100% with diet alone. Seriously, it's not how much you eat, but what you eat. If you look at North American food habits (sorry assuming you're from Canada/US) all we eat is carbs. Now I'm not saying that you're not gonna have to stop eating as much, because portion control is a big part of it. Try to eat 6 smaller meals during the day, rather than 3 large ones. Each meal should be balanced with 1/2 the meal fruits/veggies 1/4 carbs, 1/4 lean meat (or other source of protein). Also try to follow the recommended number of servings that a person is supposed to get.

On top of it all, getting a bit of exercise wouldn't hurt.

unfucking believable; the stupidity of people on this board never fails to amaze me. you are a paint-drinking retard.

tell me something, what the fuck do you think you're ingesting when you eat these fruits and vegetables and while you're there tell me something else; what are these 'carbs' you speak of? are they grown on a 'carb' farm perhaps?

carbohydrates are a fucking molecule, not a discrete food item unless you're ingesting pure glucose or somesuch. you will loose weight if you source your carbohydrates from fruit and vegetables only, and add in healthy fat sources with lean protein. now fuck off and learn something.

You're both fucking wrong, one of you less so, and I'll explain why:

Sourcing carbs from fruit\vegies inevitably means a large amount of fibre weight, keeps you feeling full without actually adding to your calories.

However, carbs are carbs, and energy is energy, if you want to lose weight without exercise, you'll need:
Carb cycling through the day to control insulin:
This means you can eat your toast\cereal for breakfast, and have some, but a small amount of carbs for lunch and then at dinner time, no pasta, no rice etc.
For the 2 snacks between these meals (3, depending on when you eat) you'll want to stick to fats\protein.

If you are going to get your carbs, fruit and veggies are far better because as I said, lots of fibre to trick your body into thinking it's not fucking starved of energy.

Alot of leafy green vegetables are good, aside from the vitamins, the fact they've got very little energy for how much of them there is, makes them perfect for someone trying to stay full on very little energy.

A food break down:
Breakfast - 2 scrambled eggs, 1 piece toast.

snack 1 - 2 handfulls of cashews

lunch - 1 grilled chicken breast, a salad (vinegar based dressing) and 1 banana

snack 2- another handfull of cashews (I like cashews, personally)

dinner - A metric fuckton of a lean cut of any meat, served with a salad (vinegar dressing again)

tl;dr
Eat less carbs as the days go on.

Oh, and just fucking go for a run you lazy shit.

the fuck you say homosexual? I am not wrong in any way, shape or form. you will loose weight if you eat that way, and carbohydrates are an organic (carbon) molecule. learn to read and get the fuck out, the reason you will loose weight that way is precisely because of the increased insulin sensitivity developed by eating fruit and vegetables instead of refined carb sources. i was contradicting a retard, not going into a detailed diet plan.

and carbs are not fucking carbs. if that was the case eating trees (cellulose) would have the same effect as eating fructose. you then go and contradict yourself by saying, lol cycle to control insulin, which you wouldn't have to do if carbs were carbs were carbs.

i hate this fucking board. you're all a bunch of head punching idiots. saging because i am sick of stupid fucking people.

Jesus fuck you're a whingy shit, you were wrong, deal with it.

We both know I mean dietary carbohydrates, like those found in normal food and if you're highly insulin sensitive, you should consider a ketogenic diet, otherwise chances are you'd be wasting away muscle mass...

here's a tip mental-nigger, i was not wrong and you were. don't advise someone to read when you're a pig-ignorant fuck-pig who got it wrong in the first place. someone who is fat should not be trying to spike insulin because their insulin levels are already permenently spiked. this is why they are fucking fat to begin with. fuck. your. selves.

i mean, for fucks sake:
>>If you are going to get your carbs, fruit and veggies are far better because as I said, lots of fibre to trick your body into thinking it's not fucking starved of energy.

fruits and veges are better because the main carbohydrate in most of them (fructose) does not cause an insulin response. you could consume glucose encrusted fucking plastic and still not loose weight because insulin would be knocked through the ceiling every time. so they're an energy source that can be consumed at the same time as reducing insulin insensitivity. honestly, fuck. this is basic shit and you get it wrong, and then jump around pretending you know what the fuck you are talking about.

The fastest (but not the safest) way to lose weight, of course, is to lie in your bed with a huge jug of water and nothing else for about 4-5 days. Aside from going to the toilet and bathing yourself (remember to use lukewarm water, hot water will make you faint), you should never move about too much, because it will actually make you collapse. As you lie in bed, you will sleep more often, and that will curb your appetite.

monosaccharides?

>> Anonymous

Sugar.
>> Anonymous
Ah some people's kids...
>> Anonymous
>>83593
monosaccharides are carbohydrates, fructose is therefore a carbohydrate (holy fuck! who would have guessed). it is a carbohydrate that does not need insulin to bridge cell walls, therefore does not contribute to insulin insensitivity.

figure the rest out.

and i am also well aware of what a sugar is compared to 'sugar' (sucrose). so don't try and point that out like it actually means something.

Fruits and vegetables contain polysaccharides as well.

This thread is relevant to my interests, although I'm doing about 20 minutes of exercise every day.

I tried going "low carb" but I just can't fucking stick to it for more than a month. And once I get a taste of carbs, my appetite comes back with a vengeance and I eat everything in sight like Kirby. When I go low carb, my appetite is basically non-existant and I am literally forcing the food down my throat.

How can I eat carbs and still control my appetite?
>> Anonymous
>>83697
Eat some carbs, then load up on protein and veggies? Sorry, I'm out of ideas.
>> Anonymous
>>83697
Low carb is bullshit anyway. It's all bullshit. I think timing has more to do with it than anything.

Protein stays the same throughout day, carbohydrates are greatest in the AM and decrease until you have 0 for your final meal. Fat increases throughout the day with it's peak at the last meal of the day.

>>83714

i'm sorry you're telling me that fructose illicits the same insulin response as glucose?

the diabetic society or medical practitioners may have their own reasons for telling diabetics this but it is a scientifically proven fact that fructose does not need insulin to bridge cell walls as it is absorbed through a different mechanism. if you don't believe that then i don't know what to tell you.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?Db=pubmed&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSearch=15181085&
amp;ordinalpos=16&itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_RVDocSum

diabetics may have issues with weight control so leptin *might* be an issue and they may therefore be fearful of the fact that they may essentially over-eat. but frankly this is bullshit. if they are not on a calorie controlled diet (that by default will limit fructose intake) then it makes no fucking difference whatsoever. also most 'studies' use hfcs, which still contains a fuckton of glucose (usually 45-58% depending) and is ultra-pure. it's like saying red wine is bad for you because pure ethanol will kill you fucking dead if you mainline the shit.

but fuck this. i am not your personal trainer.
>> Anonymous
>>83697
'low carb' usually takes about three straight, disciplined weeks to adapt to. if you don't do that then don't bother to begin with.
>> Anonymous
>>83486
diets that restrict caloric intake usually don't work.
diets however that restrict crap foods is another story. a diet is just whatever foods you're eating usually. going fruits/veggies only would be a diet of fruits and veggies.
>> Moonmauler !!LgNbdvCFAuN
>>83784
You need to be in a calorie deficit to lose body fat at all. If you don't restrict your calorie intake to a certain point you won't lose fat. Period.
>> Anonymous
>>83799
not quite. there are qualified people who will say that a change of foods in your diet can reduce fat mass for the same caloric intake by making your body preferrentially use bodyfat and preferentially store energy as glycogen. there is a limit but this seems to work. this shit is kinda complicated. fat mass isn't the same as bodyweight though.
>> Moonmauler !!LgNbdvCFAuN
>>83824
You misunderstand what I said. It's true that what you eat has a huge influence on your metabolism. But the fact of the matter is, if you're not burning off more calories than you take in you won't lose body fat over time. You can only hold so much glycogen.
>> Anonymous
>>83832
sure, but what i am saying is that by changing diet and increasing insulin sensitivity while keeping the same total caloric intake, bodyfat becomes more accessible and fat is used more for energy. or something.

basically a whole bunch of knowledgable people were discussing this and apparently merely a change in foods can reduce body fat levels. i am not so sure because i do not have a stable of clients to test this on like these people did. i'm just adding it to the conversation as something to be considered.
>> Anonymous
>>83846
actually to add i lost ~5kg when i eliminated starch from my diet. problem is i can't be specific as to whether or not my total energy intake changed as i didn't bother keeping track. i have never been a fatty so i didn't care to check; i'm not actually sure where the weight came from as i found no decrease in strength at the gym. my energy levels increased dramatically as did my concentration. the actual weight loss is a bit tricky as my weight varies greatly over the day. just something to add.
>> Moonmauler !!LgNbdvCFAuN
>>83846
Sure you can use more body fat as a source of energy, but if you're using more fat to do the same amount of work it means you're using less glycogen. And at the end of the day that unused glycogen is just going to get stored as fat and replace what you burned off. Eating better can increase your metabolism but for fat loss you MUST burn off more than you take in. When you metabolize energy it goes somewhere, either being used for work or being stored as fat. If you don't use a calorie it gets stored on the body. Simple as that.
