What fruits and vegetables (which will replace any snack foods I would normally have) would guarantee weight loss within a month or two (10-25 lbs)? I'm 5'11 and 180 lbs. I don't really have a lot of fruits or vegetables (unless you count the little berry and apple pieces in granola bars I eat) except asparagus, beans, peas, and corn.

Carrots related?

green veggies are best...

celery, brocolli etc... peas dont count.

also, get out and walk or jog for about an hour every morning, in a month or two youll be happy you did.

How's bike riding? Every other day I'll bike ride for a good hour or two.
>> Anonymous
Well pretty much anything.

The most important thing is that you really like the taste, so you don't revert back to snacks. You could also make a really lean and spicy dip sauce with low-fat yogurt as a treat once in a while.

Bike riding is great if you want to become impotent while doing a leisurely activity. If you want to drop serious weight you have go at it Tour De France style.

Well, the things I mentioned I like to eat as snacks. Cucumber I also enjoy.

I've tried quitting junk food for a month or so now (no more soft drinks, only orange juice, apple juice, and water for me), but I always sneak in the occasional chip or cookie. It's definitely decreased, but I've seen only a 5 pound drop in the past month.

So jogging/sprinting is better than bike riding? I always thought bike riding killed two birds with one stone, solid cardio and a leg workout.

why don't peas count? they are delicious. ):

An occasional cookie/coke won't destroy you're diet. Try shooting for more lean type stuff instead though; like protein. Focus on lots of meats.

Jogging/sprinting is a less efficient exercise than bike riding; you can get the same workout from each, but you'd have to increase intensity and time on your bike ride to do put the same kind of stress on your body as you do when you run.

im sorry.
they are ok in fiber . but most canned peas have high sodium, since they are basically bathed in salt water in the can; i guess that is what i was getting at.

Canned vegetables are bad? The corn/peas/beans I mentioned are always canned (taste much better than frozen in my opinion).

Sometimes I like to fry peas and onion slivers in vegetable oil. Is this incredible unhealthy too?

I eat steam fresh peas.
those are fine, right?
this is not OP, btw.

>>177663no more soft drinks, only orange juice, apple juice, and water for me

I would switch the juice to diet soda instead, since they usually contain a lot of sugar and shit. Freshly pressed orange juice in the morning is great though.

>>So jogging/sprinting is better than bike riding?

It's not better, but it's more effective for most people. It all really depends on how you bike/run. At your weight you'd have to go at it pretty hardcore if you wanna drop weight while biking. But if biking's more fun for you and helps you keep motivated, then go for it. Try to find some steep hills you can bike up and down.

I'm allergic to aspartame, so I can't really opt for diet drink solutions. I don't really feel more motivated either way, just I bought the bike for this reason (not a big biker), and I'd love to justify the purchase. I'm not very muscular, and I'm usually very beat at the end of 40-50 minutes.

yes. but celery is best for what you want to do ( losing weight)

Should I prepare them in some meal, or eat it straight from the stalk?

Honestly, they have the nastiest taste for a vegetable. I suggest cooking them in a soup so that that nasty flavor is drowned out. Anyone know if this takes away from the nutrients, etc?

best drink hands down... WATER.

cold (ice) water burns a few extra calories more than room temp water.

also this may not sound pretty.. but try a salt water fluch for a few weeks in the morning. give yourself about an hour or two before doing anything.

salt water flush= 2 teaspoons sea salt non iodized mixed into 1 quart warm water.

try and drink the full quart within 5 minutes. about 30-40 minutes after you drink it you sill have to poo.. dont fart cause you might shat yourself. youll have to poo a few more times shortly after that if you drank the quart quickly..

this will help clean out your intestines and pooper.. that is where all your nutrients are absorbed.

you have to use non iodised sea salt.. not table salt..

the specific gravity of this mix will make the salt clean you out and the salt will not be absorbed into your body

ive been doing it for 4 weeks now and feel cleaner.. honestly

skip th efruits if you want to lose a decent amount of weight.

look in to dark green veggies. broccoli spinach on salads celery etc these veggies have a negative caloric effect meaning they take more calories to digest than what they give you.

Honestly, sprinting vs cycling is a matter of preference if you bike hard enough. I personally prefer cycling. Do a couple miles all-out and you'll see hat I mean. It's not so much two birds with one stone: it's NOT what anyone would call a leg workout, but it's good cardio.

Honestly, 5'11 and 180 is only bad if you're fat. If you can turn that into some muscle, you'll do well. Yes, even if you're a girl. Pump some iron, it'll help.
