Hey /fit/

Whenever I do my SQUATZ or military presses, or any lift where I have to hoist the barbell to shoulder height, I feel huge strain in my shoulder area. It feels like I've trapped a nerve or something, and it just gets worse every time

Is it normal and I should just stop bawwwing and live with it, or am I lifting wrong? Red lines are where I feel strain

Pain is weakness leaving your body.

ask a PT at your gym to watch you do a set. Your form might be fucked or you doing it wrong.

Does it come from deep inside where the bones are? Is there a sudden shifting feeling that bites you, then you quickly correct your position to make it go away?

If so, it could be coming close to dislocating. You can do some exercises in a limited range of motion to stiffen up the muscles around the shoulder, but once that tendon is dislocated, it is always going to be stretchy feeling. I've got it in both arms. Careful form will keep you safe.

Shit. Not OP, but I was military pressing 2 days ago and all of a sudden my shoulder just started hurting (sharp, stabbing pain) and I couldn't move it properly. Same thing happened this morning when I stretched.

Dislocation imminent?

OP here, yep you got it. I'll just take my lifting slower and more careful

Also while we're at it could anyone estimate my bodyfat?

doing it wrong
for squats you use a power rack/squat rack, you don't lift the bar with your arms

Google the navy method, it's cheap and easy.
