I like doing squats and I like running outdoors. I am pretty attentive of my form, but these exercises still cause pain to my knees, especially the squats.

I've had problems with my knees in the past, and obviously fear doing permanent damage to the joint. Any ideas, /fit/?

Try taking glucosamine, multivitamins, cod liver oil & get plenty protein.

if you feel it necessary to ice, ice it for ~15 minutes. Runner's knee is primarily caused the same way as shinsplints - an abrupt increase in training with a body not used to it. don't feel bad about taking a rest, especially if you feel you're approaching injury.

OP here. Thanks for the suggestions. I have slightly high blood pressure, so my physician told me to stop taking the glucosamine, as it can have that side-effect.

I'll look into the cod liver oil, though. And I'll be sure to take it nice and easy when starting up a routine again.
