yes but your gains will be much slower since you'll eat less than your muscles need

So you mean gain muscle instead of fat?

It's really hard to strike a balance with exercise and food intake that builds muscle whilist burning the fat right away.

But if youre a newbie to nutrition/fitness and don't know how your body reacts to every thing you take then it's impossible.
