well /fit/ I have to hand it to you, I still have some to desire to try new things every now again but my body just tells me its shit once it touches my tongue. For instance, I away on a family vacation, I tried during that week

-one candy shop reeses peanut butter cup
-one vanilla almond bark
-one slice of cheese cake
-and one root beer float

All of these things I thought were amazing a year ago either taste like water mixing with sugar or just sand in my mouth, so thank making realize this.

Anyone have some stories of their eyes were open to eating more heatlhy?

How'd you manage that? Although I can't imagine wanting to give up all junk food ever. I mean, a reeses peanut butter cup takes mediocre at best and I'd be happy to give it up, but a fancy-ass dark chocolate bar is something I MUST have once in a while.

I used to think salads (especially spinach and lettuce) were AIDS incarnates, but now I eat them on an almost daily basis. DELICIOUS.

I also used to love soda. Drank it in liters. Now the mere smell of it makes me vomit. :|

I also used to be addicted to pizza.. now it sounds very very boring.

Eh, I cant stand soda and candy anymore. Still like ice tea though, but like not on a daily basis. Eating healthy definitely changes how I view foods. I guess because like I mentioned in another thread, comparison. We're comparing our new healthy diet of things such as salads so sugar bombs like cola. One thing I do still like is fast food, like once a week at MOST but I fuckin feel like a piece of shit afterward and hate myself, so next day I make sure to burn that many more calories during running.

Seriously, the body adapts to the food it has to live on and learns to appreciate it. Cottage cheese and salmon both engaged my gag reflex at first. Now I eat them easily, not with great gusto, but with contentment, at least. On the other hand, I had a greasy deep dish pizza loaded with toppings as a planned splurge and was thinking the whole time, for 4500 calories total, this shit doesn't taste great. I planned to eat it all over a day, but half of it went into the trash and I resumed my normal food items.

I think it's mostly guilt. They way I feel when I drink a 130calorie can of ice tea is wow this 130 calories... it takes me almost a mile on a tread mill to burn that and I just threw away that work in a few moments. Anybody relate?

But, that being said, I used to drink and enjoy soft-drinks until i turned 16, 6 years later and now they are quite disgusting to me under any circumstance. syrupy fizz water imo. The same for certain fried foods, though they still taste good to me, I get sick afterwards, especially any attempt at fish & chips or fried chicken...

I usually eat nothing but chicken and salad (It's pretty much all I can afford at uni anyway) but when I get the opportunity to have some beer and pizza, it's fucking great. I was never much for candy, except the occasional twix, but after I stopped drinking pop and came back to it I just didn't enjoy it as much.

When I ate all the junk foods, candies and sweet drinks I seriously hated fruit. After I started eating better fruit tastes amazing, because I'm not shoving massive amounts of sugar into my body and numbing my palette.

It's all about moderation. Instead of a cheap snickers bar get high quality chocolate, instead of burger king go to the famous burger place in your city, and so on.

While most sweets just don't taste worth it anymore, there are a few that are truly great. Things that used to be good (but not great) are too blech to even be worth it. Some things still taste great though, and I enjoy them. Some things I pick up and don't understand how I used to like them. They taste like preservatives and too much bad sugar/flavoring. I honestly think eating straight brown sugar tastes better than 80% of the sugar sweets I used to eat.
