Hi /fit/,

femanon here in need of some guidance..

I'm not at all happy with my body, I used to be fat (a size 11) and now I'm currently a size 5, I randomly lost the weight when I went into my mid teens. I'm now 21 years old and currently 5'8'' and 115 pounds. I'm scared of being fat again since metabolism starts to slow down with age.
I used to exercise regularly and eat quite healthy, I managed to lose some weight (around 5 pounds) but now I've gained them back since I stopped my routine.
Do I need to lose weight? I want to get rid of the fat in my thigh/hip/belly area.
I just honestly don't know what the best approach is to make myself look better?
I'd really appreciate some advice.

this is not to be mean, but i find it a little hard to believe you are only 115 at your height and that's what your mid/bottom section looks like. however, i think that while you do need to tone up, you probably don't need to lose much weight.

I'm 115 because I don't have much muscle mass, I'm pretty weak.

i only say this because i am close to your weight but a lot shorter (5'4 and 108 lbs) and things are just a bit thinner. that sounds catty, but... it's just an observation more than anything. you say that you don't work out as much anymore, though, so that could be the difference.

you look fine like most people fat stores mostly around the waist area. doesn't mean you're overweight/obese.

at 115 lbs id say add more protein in your diet. eggs and oatmeal like everyday. and meat atleast once. get rid if chocolate sweet crap from your daily diet. make it once a week (cheat meal). if you go to school you could check it out. but not necessary

Also, I took Celexa which makes people gain 10-50 pounds. I've stopped taking it about 2-3 weeks ago.

if you don't want to get in super athletic shape, at least you can do some lunges or something to tone your butt. or even take a pilates class- that will help tone your thighs, life your butt, pull in your belly... etc. it's not that your badly shaped, just... need to tone up.

This is what I look like with dif clothes.

I don't mind the fact I don't have butt or much boobs, I prefer it this way. I don't want to look ultra toned, just lose the flab.

When I exercised all I did was cardio and very few of anything else. This is why I'm asking for help, because I don't know what to do to actually see better results. I'd like to hear it from people with experience/knowledge or similar bodies not just random stuff I look up on the internet since information is so diverse.

I would rather not visit a gym. Did once and they told me I had low BMI and needed to gain weight and some other shit.

i do a lot of pilates, a lot of planks, and a lot of bicycle crunches. my stomach used to look exactly like yours.

OP, the most important number is your body fat percentage, not your weight. Go get a skinfold test, you should ideally be in the mid teens to low 20's

5'8" and 115 are good numbers. If you're worried about getting fat again, simple lifestyle choices will keep you healthy for your entire life. These are habits you should adopt for THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.

-Always eat a large (but sensible) breakfast.
-Eat healthy snacks between meals. If your digestive system is constantly breaking down food, your metabolism will rise.
-Brief, intense training is always preferable to long, light training. Although both are good for you, HIIT burns a ton of fat compared to aerobics.
-Muscle constantly needs energy. It'll raise your metabolism and use fat for energy. Strength training (and I don't mean with the plastic Barbie weights) is a HUGE benefit. You WILL NOT turn into She-Hulk overnight. A little more muscle cannot hurt you one bit.

If you keep doing these until you're 80, you'll be squatting your own weight with a 26" waist while other old ladies will have trouble getting in and out of the bathtub.
