So, anyone have any experience with topical use of olive oil for skin health? Apparently it does wonders for keeping young-looking skin.

But I don't get it. Do I just pour a bit of olive oil from a bottle onto my hand and rub it into my skin? Won't I smell like olive oil? Will it clog my pores?

"Topical application is quite popular with fans of natural health remedies. Extra Virgin Olive Oil is the preferred grade for moisturizing the skin.

Jeanne Calment, who holds the record for the longest confirmed lifespan, reportedly attributed her longevity and relatively youthful appearance to olive oil, which she said she poured on all her food and rubbed into her skin."

Extra virgin means it was harvested by nuns.

I was just reading a book that said vegetable oils are just as bad for you as animal fat, albeit better for your heart (worse for cancer and shit). It also said that you will exude it from your skin, leaving your face gross and oily.

I was just reading a book extolling the virtues of smoking.

Just because some book says it doesn't mean it's true.

Whoever wrote that is full of shit and has no idea what he or she is talking about. Sit in on a med school nutrition lecture sometime. Olive oil is the healthiest thing you can eat. It has high cholesterol, but it actually raises HDL while lowering LDL. Nutritionalists with MDs these days all agree that olive oil is very, very good for you and doesn't give you acne, etc.

i don't get it either because even my extra virgin olive oil has more calories than my butter.

So? Calories aren't a bad thing.

But it'll lower your cholesterol, promote heart health, and help stave off cancer. It's loaded with antioxidants and trace nutrients. Don't be such a faggot about the calories. It's one of the healthiest things you can eat.

which book?

cancer seems to be untraceable incurable malady of this century, seemingly in and caused by everything. there has got be a systemic simpler cause than "everything". next thing air will give us cancer and then we just determine anything meaningful.
