I've noticed that after 50, my body just gets tired as it becomes more of an intense aerobic exercise than anything else. I guess the problem is that if you're not a heavy person, lifting about 2/3 of your bodyweight really doesn't add up to that much of a workout. I kind of gave up on them, personally, after it got to the point where I could crank out 60-70 at a time and still be ready to do another set, despite the fact that my pecs never seemed to get much bigger.
