Do a V-up instead.

Lay down on your back with your arms over your head and your legs straight. Lift your upper body up, keeping it straight. At the same time, lift your legs. They should also be straight. You should make a V shape. Imagine that. You should be resting completely on your butt. When you go back to flat, make sure it's controlled.
