What does /fit? think of the TRX system?

I used it for a bit on my last ship, and I enjoyed it. I was thinking of getting one of my own.

I have no idea what this TRX system is. Is it something you put on a boat that helps you exercise?
From the image it looks like something you would hang on to and do exercises from.

I don't get it.
What's wrong with pushups, pull/chinups and squatz if you're thinking about bodyweight exercises.
Does this thing have some kind of resistance to it?

Basically, this guy came on board and sold us a bunch of these systems at a promotional price. I was on the team that boarded civilian ships, and a frigate doesn't have much to work with (all it had was a few treadmills).

The thing with this system is that you hang it from just about anywhere, and use the straps in various ways. It uses your own body weight as resistance, and how much of your body wieght it uses depends on your angle. Most of the workouts are also very core intensive.
