Treating an injury... Anonymous
Dear /fit/,

About 1 week ago, I was driving my parents to the airport, and on the way back home, I had to maneuver my body awkwardly in order to avoid an accident. It was extremely icy out, and it was in blizzard conditions.

Anyways, now I'm finding it difficult to move my left arm at times, and I always wake up with my left hand clamped. My hand and elbow joints feel like they're on fire, and I've been icing and heating it for 4 days now. I've also been taking 5-10ml of codeine and 1000mg of acetaminophen every 5 hours. My family doctor isn't available for an appointment any time soon, but I don't think it's bad enough yet to go to the ER.
Still, I'd like to know what your guys' advice is... maybe I'm just being stupid about not going to an urgent care clinic or an ER.

You got injured driving without being in an accident?

You need to do more squatz nigger>

Idk, describe what happened when you hurt your arm more clearly.

um, it doesnt exactly have to be an 'OH MY GOD MY HAND JUST FELL OFF OH GOD THERE'S BLOOD EVERYWHERE FUCK' kind of thing to go to the ER... if it's not any better after 4 days, then you probably fucked it up enough to justify getting it checked out.

seriously, the longer you wait, the more chance of permanent injury you have.

I was reaching for my phone, when I had to brake suddenly, then i had to almost go into the ditch. it was so sudden that I don't remember exactly what movement may have caused it though.

could be a problem with your spine?!
A nerve to your arm that is blocked maybe.
Anyway see a doc.

Subluxation, fracture, or nerve ending was smashed. What kind of fracture I'd have to see to be sure.

I was injured on the job about 1 year ago, while unloading UPS Cargo containers at the Calgary Int'l Airport. a 150lb package came down the line, and a coworker let the package slip from his hands when we were lifting it into the delivery truck. It caused me to throw out my left shoulder, and it pinched the nerves from my elbow all the way down to my fingertips. I was on Worker's Comp from May until August 2007 because of it.

that's only a major contributing factor. I still don't know specifically what's wrong. Also, it doesn't hurt in all of the same places as it did when I got injured at work. That's what has me puzzled.
