It's that time of year again when skin gets dry. For me, the worst is my scalp. The embarrassing snowstorm unleashes from my head. I usually wash my hair every other day. The dandruff only gets worse when I wash it too.. dry as a desert and itchy as hell. I've used everything from head&shoulders to $15 bottles of Neutrogena to crazy organic tea tree oil shampoos to apple cider vinegar. NOTHING shows any amount of improvement.

Any other suggestions besides decapitating myself?

Shower everyday in the morning, or just before you go out, to wash/clean off as much of the dandruff as you can. You could try moisturizing shampoos to prevent drying your scalp out if you're worried about that, or just an anti-dandruff shampoo. Chick products are probably best.

I don't have a particular problem with dandruff but if I go a few days without showering or washing my hair I will start to see flakes. Don't just assume showering is bad. See a dermatologist.

Head and shoulders is pretty much the only thing that works for me but must be the type for extra greasy, the others don't seem to cut it.

If I don't wash for a few days I get it come back with a vengeance. I can wash with any other shampoo for a couple of weeks though if I've been using the head and shoulders often.

secret indian solution for problem

Get coke (classic coca-cola only nothing else NOTHING)
get CLEAN washcloth

Get in a bathtub naked or something, pour the coke all over your head, if you have long hair MAKE SURE you have soaked your scalp in it, leave it until it stops tingling which may take seconds to minutes depending on the freshness of the coke (longer is better) then take the washcloth and make the same motion you use to dry your hair with a towel, rub it all over your hair until your scalp goes numb.

Wash it off and you should not have the problem untill you next shampoo, your hair will be nice and soft too.

Alternate solution is to shave your head and go get a tan on it. but that takes longer.
