Ok /fit/,
I want to come up with an eating plan, but I can't find anything useful. All I ever find is general "5 SPIMPEL TIPES 4 WAIT LOSE" BS.

If I seem ignorant, it's because I am.
I really don't know how to feed myself, nobody has ever made an effort to teach me, and nobody is willing to take the time necessary to do it.

I'm 5'10", and I weigh about 220lbs/16 stone.
I do zero excercise right now. I power-walk pretty much everywhere, and I'm working out a routine with an excercise guide.

I just need help coming up with a decent eating plan.
I'm looking for something below 2000 calories, if I am reliably informed. (which I may not be)

I know what not to eat, but I can't find information about what I should eat. Basically if I did't eat ready-meals I would starve.

Eating breakfast at home is out of the question.

I haven't been able to have cereal of any description with milk (read here at all) for more than a decade.
I have to buy a fresh carton any time I want to have cereal, and since they only come as small as a pint at a time (which invariably gets wasted by some fuckwad making coffee and leaving it out to go sour) is wasteful and expensive.
There is a fridge at work though, I've considered the possibility of keeping milk there, but I don't trust a lot of the people I work with after 6 Nutri-Grain bars (btw, win or fail?) went missing from inside a box, within a tied up plastic bag. (theives basically)

Right now my breakfast is usually a baguette from the canteen at work.
They make them fresh, about 8/9" long, and I try to get wholemeal if they have it in stock.
Usually I get it filled with Tuna+Cucumber or Ham+Lettuce+Cucumber+Tomato.

I can get plenty of water at work.

Beyond this, I have no idea.
Could I substitute some of my water intake with milk? Like drink a pint a day + some water?

What else do I need to eat during a day?
I looked up the "food pyramid", but it's not very specific about what to eat, when, or in what quantities. (no really, how much is a cup? AKA how long is a piece of string?)

Stop drinking so much milk, don't eat cereal for breakfast. A meal of eggs cooked however you wish with a few pieces of bacon or sausage and toast should keep you satiated for longer than cereal and provides for a more diverse nutrition base. Throw in a piece of fruit for sweetness if you need it. If possible try and have seafood for lunch whenever you can, it's a little more difficult to break down than other protein sources and keeps you full for longer. Consume with a side of veggies. For dinner try and stick to vegetables/ salads, you don't need the energy from breads when you're sleeping.

Uh, how can I drink less than no milk? Should I be lactating or what?

Okay, so the tuna+cucumber is good right?

They do bags of salad at the supermarket, is that ok?

Tuna + cucumber is fine, the bags of salad are fine. Should definitely throw some various other vegetable types in there or you'll get sick of salad and cucumbers mighty quickly. Buy a variety of bags of frozen things that way you can quickly thaw something you happen to be craving at any given time. At this moment I have frozen bags of brussel sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, and fillets of perch and sole. I don't know how fresh your produce is over there on the isles but over here in the states it's gotten to the point of "fresh" produce being plucked from the fields massively underripe then being hormonally forced to ripen en route to the market resulting in "ripe" produce of far less nutrition value than it should be. The frozen stuff tends to be flash frozen on site resulting in more nutritious foodstuffs. Sorry, went on a tangent. Just diversify your intake so you don't get sick of it quickly.

I've been told stir-fries, done correctly, can be quite good for oneself.
Any idea if this is true?

I like stir-fries. Some onion, water chestnut, beansprout, red pepper, that sort of thing.
