Pretty much if it makes you sweat alot and makes you feel like you're heating up then it's working. I've been doing sprints, jump rope, and that kind of stuff, but you might be more interested in aerobic classes are martial arts type stuff. Martial arts are just as intense and a lot more fun then just running back and forth.
