sup /fit/,

I just bought a rowing machine, and I'm wondering what the best way to use it is?

Should I use it every day? Every other day? Should I have consensual sex with it?

tl;dr what is the best routine for a rowing machine.

Buy the newest edition of men's health magazine (UK edition), it has a nice article how you can train most of your body, just using a rowing machine.

i also bought a c2 a month or so ago

i've done an interval on it (20 seconds on, 10 seconds) rest 8 times, was pretty brutal. especially concentrating on technique while not dying from congestive heart failure is tough.

usual benchmarks for good fitness are:

under 1:30 500m
under 7:00 2000m
under 18:30 5000m

from what I've picked up at least, the first time I got on my rower I rowed a 1:37.9 500m and a 20:21 5000m, but i'm also 6'2" 165lbs so I have an advantage over shorter more hefty folks.

I keep the damper setting (thing on the side of the flywheel ) at 3-4 on 3000m+, 5-6 on 1000m-3000m and around 6-7 on under 1000m sprints.
