1) Eat less
2) Train more

That's the core of my project to lose quite amount of weight in a short timespan. My BMI is 23 at the moment, my target is 21½.

I've done it before and I know I can pull it of once again, but just even faster time.

My question is the following: How to keep a sharp mind and good attitude while constantly being heavily on negative calories? I can't be a zombie at the front of the computer all the time at work from 8 to 16.

For the time of this project all processed sugars, sodas (diet or not), snacks and bakery products (not including rye bread) are BANNED. I drink my coffee black, and I drink a lot of it. I stress fruits and vegetables in my diet but do not omit meat altogether. Also oat porridge.

My exercise routine consists of cycling 1½ hours a day (commuting) and running 3 to 4 times a week of 45 minutes at a time. Occasional trips to the gym are included as well.

You'll have a positive attitude if you keep doing what you're doing. Exercise is tough, but once you start doing enough, you'll get a rush from the endorphins you and you'll want to exercise everyday. I feel like crap if I miss a workout.
Also, even though processed sugars are cut from your diet, you'll still be getting natural sugars from other foods, so it's not like your whole mood is gonna swing.
Keep up the good work and keep dropping by /fit/ to keep you on the track for success!

fuck kellogs. it's superheated tortured flakes, destroying in the process nearly all vitamins and minerals. then they spray back on like 4 required by law, of the 30 that there are, and they don't work as nearly as effect as the original corn/wheat/whatever.

a study on mice eating exclusively the flakes and eating the box the flakes came in resulting in them dying faster on cereal than the cardboard.

real pros don't eat that shit.

Is there a cereal that we can eat then? I was pondering this as I was eating my Newman's Own all natural flakes.

i just avoid that entire aisle. once i heard that, only fresh stuff was appealing to me. idk. just eat the bananas, apples, or pears, or watermelon, or baby carrots without course disgusting skins, or salads, and throw in something proteiny and safe. baked fish is safe, delicious, nutritious. it's my favorite, it comes with flavor, other fish don't seem to to me.

the real appeal is the speed. cereal takes, oh, as much time to prepare as to click this to reply. baking fish can take 20 minutes.

what's more important to you? I hope you answer nutrition.

Doing this you should be able to eat just about whatever you want.

When I'm training in cycling (2-4 hours every day) There is no amount of food that will put me in positive calories.

But then again I'm going for speed and am burning about 1000 calories an hour.

Just make those gym trips regular until you've built up some solid muscle mass. Then you can worry about slimming down.

P.S. BMI is flat garbage

I make all my meals. It basically alternates between a veggie and cheese omelet in the mornings, a sandwich for lunch, and steamed veggies with broiled chicken for dinner. Thing is, between classes, cereal is so quick, it makes for a good snack. Is it really that bad for you?

There are a lot of /fit/ cereals we can and probably should eat, but they're not your cinnamon swirls in every bite Reeces for breakfast®

WANT:
Cereals with whole wheat, oats, or other grains and reasonable carbs. Fiber and protein usually come included.

DO NOT WANT:
CORN SYRUP, much sugar at all, corn, rice, or questionable ingredients. Most of my cereal has like 12 ingredients or less.

It's all right there on the side of the box. The only thing wal-mart's going to have is Kashi, and that stuff tastes like cardboard, but you're in luck if you've got a Whole Foods or maybe even Super Target around.

Next up, at least don't get growth hormones in your milk.
