Well the younger one has more of a blockish body and the older one has a less one however i am a male so i guess I would like to achieve what that woman did except in male terms.

I was actually noticing that the male olympic divers and swimmers had very v shaped torsos. Maybe you should take up swimming.

this dudes right. First you have to be skinny and have a smaller waist, then start swimming (front crawl) regularly. It's amazing for your back muscles and the cardio helps you get lean muscle in no time.

tl;dr: swim.

Get a bigger back.

This is genuinely a genetic thing. I happen to have broad shoulders but only a 26" waist. Olympic swimmers tend to have this body type also. Partially because they build their upper body up so much, but more because of genetics. If you dont have a V bod then you will never make it to the olympics swimming... provemewrong

well first, genetics (for a small waist and wide shoulders) wide grip lat pull downs with both grips, palms foreward, and palms towards you, and switch grip pull ups

I saw a pic of phelps as a young guy sitting over a swimming pool and his shoulders weren't THAT wide yet. He has amazing genetics (isn't he like 6 ft 8?) but I think training and dedication played a bigger role than that.

When your a young guy you wont tend to have broad shoulders and a thin waist.

As ive gotten older ive grown taller, my waist has stayed the same, and my shoulders have broadened.

Phelps would have had the same experience.

Yes, building muscle in your upper body is important. But, if your not born with a V body then you will be running uphill, metaphorically, to try to make one. In the end you'll jsut have mis balanced muscles.

He's 6'4" BUT has the torso of 6'8" person and the legs of a 6' person
