Ok /fit/, got a quick question. I just started my running routine, its the Couch Potato to 5K deal, and it has me running 3 days a week. I started two days ago. I should run again today, but I have a problem. See, after I ran the other day, the muscle right above my knees was killing me. It still is. I did stretches and everything before and afterwards, but it still hurts like a bitch. It feels like the muscle might be getting bigger, or maybe swollen, I don't know, but it hurts like fuck and is hard to walk around on.

Is this normal, and should I keep with the running? Oh yeah, in case anyone needs to know, 260-ish lbs, 5'9".

Honest;y? Wouldn't that be bad for my muscles or something like that?

I guess I'm just asking for an explanation why

Can I please get a good answer?

If your muscle hurts, don't stress it any further, just take a break for the day.

Usually if you give it some rest, it'll feel better.
Eventually.

I guess I'll just have to wait then. It has been sore for almost 2 full days now. Then again, I am going from absolutely no exercise at all to running/walking a half hour a day. Run 2 min, Walk 2 min.

I did about the same thing.
Depending on how well you're doing, I'd go a little easier on your walk/run ratio.
I used this guide for a little bit-
http://running.about.com/od/getstartedwithrunning/ht/getstarted.htm

Really though, I start walking, then I start the running part whenever I feel, as long as I only have 4 minutes of running at a time.

Ah, I like that guide quite a bit. It isn't as brutal as the other one I was following was. I think I'll start with this one and then move on to other. Thanks alot!

is it just me or does the guy in ops pic have really small legs?

I was pretty much a couch potato but blessed with some sort of hardiness. So ... I started HIIT after two weeks of regular jogging. Oh wow, was it awesome. I'm really toned right now. :P

More of happens in the middle of the night to me. It's not fun when you have to limp the next day because of it.
