i agree, there a nice replacement if you don't do squats b/c of need issues.

i do deadlifts and squat machines that are quite a bit better for you depending on the machine. I still get the full body workout

deadlift AND squat
>> Anonymous
how much do I have to deadlift before the bar starts bending from the pressure?
>> Anonymous

Thread over

Depends on the bar. I had a shitty one in my schools weight room bend permanently with 335. Consider that bars break from time to time, and then consider the top position of the deadlift. I was not amused.

Fuck your squats and deadlifts. Power cleans are where it's at.
>> Anonymous
>>423460
Thats just a deadlift with some extra dumbassery at the end
>> Anonymous
>>423460

That's a squat clean, junior
>> Anonymous
>>423465

It's as explosive movement and builds power whereas deadlifts build raw strength, doing both in a routine complement each other. If you were a basketball player for example, power cleans would be more helpful than deadlifts
>> Anonymous
not much of a 'squat'
>> Anonymous
>>423473
but you wont be getting very far with out a deadlift foundation
>> Anonymous
>>423475

It doesn't have to be, just differentiates between a power clean and normal one
>> Anonymous
I believe that deadlifts recruit more muscle groups but squats recruit more muscle fibers. In the end, they both elicit a large GH response.
>> Anonymous
>>423477
That's strange, because I can do those cleans perfectly fine but almost never do dead lifts. I think I actually learned how to do the cleans first.
>> Anonymous
Deadlifts are the shit.

Not that squats aren't lovely either. Especially front squats. I could do those fuckers all day.
>> Anonymous
clean and press's are how spartans do it
>> Anonymous
You are an idiot if you only do squats OR deadlifts. Fucking do both. Shut the fuck up and train.

ITT: People on /fit/ that know how to lift.
>> Anonymous
Deadlifts are just as good as squats, both are powerful compound lifts. Do both and profit.
>> Anonymous
Deadlifts are more fun than squatz, but squatz are superior.

I fucking love DLs. Especially since I can move much more weight doing them right now.
I also love going lightheaded after a few sets of squats.

I kinda power clean alot, but can't squat clean yet because I can't rack the freakin' bar. :(

>>424165
Yep.

i don't has power rack, so no back squats.

hack squats are kinda cool though. a lot like deadlifts really.

has anyone here ever deadlifted using a trap bar / hex bar? it looks kinda cool...
