Soup /fit/,

I just started going to the gym two weeks ago. The first few times I worked out I was sore as shit. Now, this week I work my ass off just as hard and I felt the shaky weakness from right after a workout, but now i'm not sore at all.

Am I failing or do you just stop getting sore as shit after the first few workouts?

Momentary muscle exhaustion is more common the more you work out.

You'll get over it, you're just pushing yourself more then normal.

For me, when I do a heavy set of squats, I get that feeling in my legs. You're getting stronger.

Have you upped the weights, or have you just been doing same thing as you have two weeks ago?

If you haven't been upping the weights or pushing yourself harder, you aren't improving and there is really no point to working out, other to maintain. If you like that sore feeling, push yourself further each time.

Take potassium and magnesium supplements, or you can do it the natural way and eat bananas.

anyone here that has worked out hard for years crave that sore feeling? everytime i hit the gym i strive to get that feeling. then, on the off time i don't, it usually means i wasn't pushing myself hard enough.

Soreness is not an indicator of growth.

The first few workouts in a new cycle or set of exercises will give you more soreness as your body adapts. Once you get used to it, it is usual not to be sore, even if you've completely exhausted yourself.

That's not to say that you won't get sore again, but it's not a problem not to, as long as you continue to make progress with your lifts.

YES! That is exactly what I am looking for. I don't feel it and then I feel like I failed.

this anon has it right

also most hypertrophy will occur from the 3rd to 6th time you do a particular workout
note that you are probably NOT getting any DOMS from these workouts

after 6th workout your gains will diminish and it is time to change it up
