hi /fit/
I'm starting to work out again after becoming a fatty and not working out for a long time. I'm looking into getting a healthy diet and it sounds like a good amount of protein after doing weights is important and everyone is all about the protein shakes.

So my question to you:

What is the BEST (must nutritious/natural/not fucked up/tastiest) protein shake?

pic possibly related I dunno lol ¯\(º_o)/¯

Whey protein isolate.

But, you want to time your protein intake with your workouts.

It is best to consume whey protein with nothing else immediately after workout, and after the whey is completely digested and your stomach blood sugar is back to normal, you should then ingest a slow release protein either a mix or casein. Staggering whey with slow release proteins will provide for the ideal anabolic state.

Also, eat a lot of LEAN meats; if you want to gain muscle and lose fat, actual meat is requisite.

Right, I understand that.

I'm asking about brands more specifcially I guess because it seems like there's a billion out there and I have no idea which to get.

Brands don't mean shit. Just make sure what you're getting is whey isolate with minimal fat and sugar. It's all the same thing anyway.

This is exactly why brands matter. Just get Optimum Nutrition. If you're serious about eating healthy, they offer a vanilla flavor without any processed or artificial sweeteners.

I've used Optimum and EAS 100%, both good
