Does it matter what kind of protein I'm taking or where it comes from? What's the difference between whey and caseinate protein? Do I need both?

Whey = quick absorption/metabolism
Casein = slowwww absorption/metabolism

Basically don't take whey if you haven't just worked out, or else it'll be come fat if you don't need it.

casein is slower releasing. whey is fairly quick.

my rule of thumb: if you are bulking up or doing a lot of lifting, get whey and make PWO drinks with it. if you are trying to lose weight, get casein and drink it before bed to get the protein you need.

or just go milk protein isolate. that works too.

Is it still effective to take casein right after lifting? The protein shakes that I have at my house are all casein.

Fucking retard. It's used by your body for energy first. If you have a surplus, only then does it get stored as fat. Go elsewhere to sprinkle your fucking AIDS.

Whey has a higher bioavailability than egg protein. No need to use it, really.

Basically, whey is pretty much the fastest absorbing protein and casein the slowest. No real need to use others as they are slower than whey and faster than casein.
