Hey /fit/,

I work in a kitchen, and I have to stand for 8-11 hours a day. My feet fucking hurt after about 4-5 hours. I wear heavy boots that give me support, but no matter what I do, my feet ache after just a few hours of standing up.
I am overweight, if I was to lose weight would my feet feel a lot better standing up for long times?

I did the same when I worked in a factory. We didn't have any special shoes, we did however have a rubber mat to stand on which was about half an inch or 1 cm thick which helped immensely.
Also try to sit down at every opportunity you get.

Kitchen = no chairs or anything like that. Only time I would sit down is when I had a ciggie, but I quit yesterday, so now I can't go and tell the head chef "hey, I'm going to go sit outside for 10 minutes like I did when I smoked".

What's stopping you?
Tell the boss that you get tired as fuck from standing around all the time and you need a break: "All the smoking faggots get to do it."

I know what you mean, when I worked in that shitty factory I always got jealous when the smokers went for their breaks so I simply went for toilet breaks instead, at least 2 / day.
