two questions, id consider myself decently fit interms of leg strength arms chest etc... im just always lazy and dont feel like cardio after working out.
1. Whats more beneficial, cardio every day but like 15min or 30min every other day?
and
2. I know you cant target etc... but whats the best lower abdomen exercises to improve my problem area? Like i said i always workout just sometimes am to lazy to do cardio and abs.

thanks

Cardio effect depends on the effort you put into it, but the 30 mins every other day is probably better.

15 mins is barely enough time for your body to completely warm up, and if you are stopping right after your body is ready to go, then you really won't get as good an effect as you would with 30 mins.

Well, let's get this straight Cardio is how you get rid of fat, strength training is for muscle tone, endurance, and strength.

If you have a chub tum then use cardio to remove fat, and then use weight lifting to increase muscle definition. Voila, sexy abs.

As far as running, general theory my track coach always used was "the first 10 minutes your body is only warming up" so...in short...No, 15 minutes doesn't do much. Thats 10 minutes to get your heart rate up, and then only 5 minutes of actual work. 30 minutes a day is a great target area for people getting started.

OP again.
so is 30min every other day good b/c you get the rest in for your body to recover?

30 min every day should be fine.

No, 30 mins is better because 15 mins isn't really enough time for your body to do anything. You'll barely deplete the glycogen stores in your body and have to tap into the fat/energy stores that your body has.

If your body needs a full day to rest because of 30 mins of cardio then you have some serious problems.

back when i worked out everyday, i would use a recumbent bike to get my cardio going. i would use it for about 45 - 60 minutes first thing in the morning everyday. i lost about 20 lbs my first two weeks jsut in water weight and some flab.
i need to get back into it. then i'd do about 3 hours of strength training targeting groups, so i got ripped pretty fast.

you should do cardio BEFORE you work out.

so it seems like the stationary bikes are pretty cool guys in terms of helping weight loss and doesnt being afraid of anything? ive seen alot recently about the stationary bike doing more good than i thought possible.

again i would just like someone to answer is there any benefit to resting one day in bewteen cardio sessions? or is every day the way to go?

Since we're on the subject of cardio, here's a question I have: I'm a pretty thin guy that's been trying to gain weight through weight training and eating just about everything in sight. I used to do some cardio, but I stopped a while back. Is it at all worthwhile for someone who wants to gain weight to do cardio, or is it just counter-productive?

looks like you're fit enough. you don't need to do anything more.
