Is cracking your back bad for it? Popping it. It feels like it relieves pressure and is pleasurable. I have always had back pain since I was young. This makes it feel better, at least for a bit.

It's not enough to warrant vicodin really, and no doctor is going to give me a script at 19.

Is my popping my neck and back counter productive or does it help?

If you ask a chiropractician he will tell you that unblocking vertebrae repeatedly will result in a weakening, which should be avoided.

If you ask a Doctor he'll tell your chiropractors don't know shit.

I do the EXACT same thing. I used to play EVE Online with a chiropractician and asked him about it. He never told me if it was actually bad for your back and such, but he did say it's usually because of bad posture. If you have bad posture try to sit up straight a lot more.

cracking won't cause damage in itself... twisting/rotation + pressure on connective tissues will have some slight effect over time

Maybe you have back pain because you've been cracking it since you were a kid.

>holy shit, big tits are big

That's obviously why the OP has back problems.

Do some deadlifting. I had an irritable back through much of my youth, visited chiropractors and all, and it all went away once I started deadlifting. Strengthening the muscles in the back = win.

Yeah, I've got bad posture and back pain, and cracking it helps it feel better for a bit. *CRACK* Ah...

But I figure it's like cracking your knuckles. 1/2 of docs say it's good (or not harmful) and the others say it's bad. Who knows.

Chiropractors are doctors.

Extremely counter-productive. I used to crack my neck a lot, and after a few years I started to get terrible migraines on a regular basis.
Went in to a chiro to get an x-ray, and it turned out my neck was 2" out of alignment. It had a nice, healthy looking curve, save for the fact it was curving the wrong way.

cracking most the limbs far away from the core is ok, once in a while. don't go excessive, and don't do while holding any weights. i don't know, the spinal cord's there, so don't fuck it up yo.

hmmm....do we have any physical therapists in here to confirm that chiropractors don't know shit?

Chiropractors fucking pop it themselves. They just want to do it and get paid for it.

Vicodin dulls the pain, but it also makes you shit useless. So unless your really decapitated by the pain, it isn't worth it!

There has never been any proof that cracking joints in and of itselfs has any negative side effects. The common theory that it causes arthritis is likely just an old wives tale told to stop people doing it as the sound isnt pleasant to others.
