Hi, /fit/.

So, is there actually a link between cel phones/wireless shit and cancer, and are we all going to get brain tumors in a decade?

In before lol alarmist.

Too some extent yes the radiation your phone gives off is a cancer risk, but yet everything you do through your day is almost always a cancer risk.

You get radiation from walking in front of your tv.

No, there isn't. While being safe is better than being sorry, there's absolutely no reason to think it does.

This idiot made the same mistake many idiots do. "Radiation" is not all harmful. Refer to my picture.

Electromagnetic radiation is based on wavelength. Radio, microwave, and visible light are all electromagnetic waves, just with different wavelengths. There are two categories of EM radiation: ionizing and non-ionizing. Ionizing radiation, like ultraviolet light and x-rays, can damage your cells and potentially cause cancer. Hence, skin cancer comes from the sun's rays (the ultraviolet part).

Nuclear radiation is entirely different.

Your phone does not puts out neither ionizing nor nuclear radiation.

tl;dr No, not if you know anything about physics.

The earth gives off radiation too, people are supposed to have their homes tested, but no one does. With real estate the way it is, it isn't something people are concerned with. You could get cancer just by having your home where it is.

samefag here.

"The waves that come out of this device are too 'fat', they are literally too big to hit and atom, break off an electron, make that atom go searching for another atom so it can add its electron and be balanced again, rip apart and cause cancer."

Well, citing the guy behind junkscience.com on pretty much any issue is stupid. But their general message is 100% dead on.

Wouldn't Finns or Japanese already be dying of brain cancer if that was true?
