Are the photos of models real? Anonymous
I've always wondered about these photos that the average man shoots for. The physiques in the magazines of men with "rock hard" abs, perfect skin, great biceps, etc.

The thing is, are these photos real? When you see these people on the street, do they still look as good as they do in the picture?

I just want to know if models are just people who worked hard for their body or do the magazines, websites, etc. exaggerate/enhance/enlarge for better pictures.

alot of cut looking guys only look real cut under the right degree of light

Odds are most models don't look like they do in photos everyday. Before a shoot, they'll diet severely and dehydrate themselves. They also pump up their muscles with high hep low weight exercises right before.

Also you can't underestimate the impact of good lighting.

And photoshop.

>>204have you seen the youtube footage of a Dove tv ad where they pimp out a normal looking model using photoshop ?

They do the same thing with male models. For sure they still have to have a good body but whatever imperfection they still have during the photoshot is gonna be removed.

She's not a normal model, just a normal women.

Models are -- on average -- very attractive and don't require as much airbrushing.

Male model here... promise but you probably wont believe.

They don't actually alter that much. They will take out some acne if something popped up or smooth out something or get rid of oily shine and such, but most of it is just lighting man

It always seems like male model pictures are in a competition of pube-teasing.

Wtf, it looks like his pelvis stretches to his ankles. How is it possible to wear pants that low?

spitting (literally into a cup all day), grooming, makeup, lighting, a good 'pump' (light-weight, high-rep)... its a look you cant walk around on the street with for long, but for a couple of hours, its there.

Lose that beer belly and you'll know how.

I just had head shots done with a professional photographer. He game me clear skin and dropped 10 pounds off my face in 30 seconds. It is all photoshopped.

photoshop, dehydration both contribute to the look

It just looks good from the front. It isn't possible to functionally wear pants that low, because they're half way down his ass.

Lighting and shading is the magic bullet.

It's why tan/brown/black folks look more cut than pale people. The shadows trick the eye.

Just as airbrushed as the girls.

A friend of mine who owns a local nutrition/supplement store is a body builder. Recently his store was sponsored by Magnum and they asked him to do a shoot so they could put him in a few of their magazine ads.

He doesn't look like he does in the photos everyday unless he's cut down specifically for a photoshoot or competition. Usually these people who do photoshoots know they're coming up months in advance so they can prepare.

this guy's pants is a few centimeters short of pop goes the weasel.

they also shed water before these shoots by jogging or sauna. when i cut weight for grappling tournaments, before i rehydrate i look absolutely shredded with veins all over my stomach.

Male model here ... they usually photoshop out the cock I'm sucking
>> Anonymous
The whole point of being a model is that pros have to do the least work on you. That said noone naturally looks like models do in shoots - bad skin is obviously the most common flaw fixed.

yo, role model here

Op here,

And it's legal to do photoshop and such on people then place it in a magazine like it's real? I understand makeup but isn't this going too far?

I mean, these pictures are the reason so many people get unrealistic expectations of themselves.

No shit. Welcome to the modern world.

Everyone has unrealistic expectations, just ask the 4channers and their jpeg girlfriends.

Good lighting has existed decades before photoshop. The thing with models is that they are supposed to "professional look good" and thus specifically train for their roles.

Even in mr. muscle competitions, competitors are known to prepare by pumping up their muscles and then dehydrating themselves to tighten the skin.

There's also highly controlled dieting. Non-steroid muscle competitors (like Atlas from the new Gladiators) need to eat protein every 2-3 hours o_o;

The lame thing about models is that they also wear make-up...

Chances are, if people could snap a finger and become like these models, they would.

As said before - Lighting, motherfucker! Learn it!

It's really that important, no, even more important.

yup, lightning. just try it out yourself in the mirror.

No, it's a fundamental part of human evolution. People who are muscled/toned/pretty are healthy. Healthiness is attractive - everyone wants good healthy children who are harder, better, faster, stronger than their peers.

People are 'shallow' because it's biologically ingrained.
>> Anonymous
>>206369

Not to the extent you see on the cover of men's health mags. Those bodies are often built with pointless isolation exercises, retarded diets and dehydration... having little to do with being stronger or faster than people who actually train for performance.

Sure, the symmetry is attractive because it means less chance of defective offspring and so on, but male models are no where near actual ideals of evolutionary development.

People are attracted to the wrong kinds of physique because of what the modelling world has pushed everyone towards.
