Hey /fit/ I'm about 6 foot, 240 (Over weight) and play soccer 2-3 times a week (serious team, not just pick up games) we run about a mile and a half for a warm up, I keep up pretty well, then conditioning for about 30-40 minutes (Depending on coaches mood). I have been trying eat better for about the last two months, been taking a turkey sandwich with tomatoes on wheat bread. But I still haven't lost weight, what have I been doing wrong, do I just need to weight longer, work out more, eat better, or all of the above?

You do cardio 2-3 times a week which is good

It must comes from your diet, your sandwich is healthy but also detail what else you eat/drink during day

Sometimes eating better means eating less, too. That or you could be gaining muscle weight, idk.

OP here, I know you don't have to be skinny, in fact I'm a goalkeeper, but the best way to get my game to the next level I need to get skinnier.

Though it should give him better agility and stamina if he drops down about 30-40lb.

As a fellow goalkeeper nothing makes me sadder than shit, fat fucks getting a game purely because they are "big" and coaches selecting the team don't know anything about goalkeeping and just like the way the "big" guy fills the goal. Your size at the moment is good for going through packs and intimidation but you're going to have serious trouble getting air or running out to chase down loose balls, 1v1 etc. Solution? Squatz, HIIT and it looks like your form could be improved as well

Thanks for the help, I like to think in 1v1's i'm pretty good, but what the hell is HIIT?

I find most 1v1s can actually be avoided if you get out quickly enough and take the ball out from their feet - hence the problem with weight. HIIT is high intensity interval training, it comes up alot here.

Ya, I know, I usually come off real quick, make my self big, stay low and wait for thhe attacker to take to big of a touch, or if he takes real small touches, I slow him down , make sure he has a very tough angle to shot from

OP again, I had a really nice one, but dont know what happened to it >.>

Weight is too far backwards and you should dive with your hands, not your feet. If you flipped you over position would be perfect, providing you dive forwards. Staying low is good but making yourself big generally isn't. Better to be in a good starting position to leap than to try to psyche the attacker out.
