sup /fit/

i'll be talking about biceps curls but this is not a troll. please read on.

yesterday was my shoulders+biceps day (part of a 3-day routine which i've been doing for a month or so). i did the shoulder part just fine. but when it came to biceps (don't know the name of the exercise in english, maybe it's barbell curl) i felt a quite acute pain on my right forearm, starting from the wrist and going up through the outer side of my arm.

pulley and dumbbell curls were quite painful too (specially the latter) so i didn't finish my routine and went home.

I have done all this exercises before as part of other routines and never had any problem. also, I was moving quite a low weight (20 pounds + barbell, 20 pounds dumbbell). i had to move some weight after the gym (grocery shopping) and it didn't hurt anymore.

today i am quite sore on my right forearm. today i was planning to have a nice cardio day and perhaps finish the exercises i left unfinished yesterday -with lowered weight if necessary- but i'm not so sure about that. i want to, but i sort of know i should not.

what do you mis/fit/s think?

Do the cardio. Just because your forearm hurts doesn't mean you can't run. Let your arms rest for a couple of days, and resort to heat pads and some painkillers if you have to.

thx. it seems cardio and a long walk afterwards is what i'll be doing today.

I used to get that pain as well. I asked around and apparently they were Forearm splints(if thats how you spell it). Kinda like the pain you get in your shin from running with the wrong shoes. Well all I did was lower the weight a bit and lifted through it. I think it has something to have to do with the bone not being accustomed to the weight. I got the pain when I was curling on the preacher press though. Like Tyler said, if it keeps hurting take it easy and take some painkillers.

you should replace this day with a "squatz and deadlifts" day

body part splits like this are only good for pro bodybuilders on steriods (upper/lower and push/pull splits are fine for normals, though)
