My biceps are a lot stronger than my triceps, and I wanted to make sure both were balanced out. I can currently curl 40 lbs, should I just build my triceps up so I can press as much per arm, or more?

I'm just confused whether I should stay true with the ratio of how much triceps and biceps muscles make up the upper arm, or if I should just make sure both muscles are equally strong. Plz halp.

you should aim for equally strong, hardly anybodys are equal but the close the better

OP here. Just wanted to clarify that I'm doing DB bicep curls, not barbell.

when you see people with big arms, its usually because they have large triceps. its pretty easy to get biceps big. work on your triceps more.

Thanks,. That's what I was thinking... I should have equal protagonistic and antagonistic muscles.

I knew that triceps were naturally bigger than the biceps, which is why I was mixed up on whether I should train them so the triceps were bigger or if they were more equally stronger. Thanks, /fit/

You could always stop doing curls

Actually I was thinking about that. I have a four-day split for my workout, and I might just sub triceps for my bicep day.

if you want to have bigger arms then you'll want to have bigger tricepts than biecepts. three mucles vs. two. it doesnt really matter if you can do the same, i personally prefer more for tri''s than bi's.

I'm thinking I'll keep with my 4-day split, but I'll have a couple tri exercises on biceps day as well, but not substituting them.

Choose a goal for number/weight of bicep curls and work your biceps up to that point. Once you've got them set up, work your triceps up to the point you want them to be.

having a 50-50 equality would be stupid and imbalanced. now, the simple answer would be to remember back to 3rd grade, when you learned that the TRIceratops had THREE horns....and that your mommy being BIsexual meant she could have TWO types of special friends

of course, that’s not the exact mechanics, but roughly where is should be…any ways, who the fuck needs additional triceps work (or biceps, for that matter)?? Unless you are NOT serving your time with compound exercises like ANY KIND OF PRESS or gymnastic progressions….

my tris bulge out but my bis are long and flat, probably cause I use an unnaturally close grip when I bench

OP here. This was what I was kinda thinking... I'm doing compound exercises as well... bench press, military press, SQUATZ, dips, dumbbell and T-bar rows. I mix up compound and isolation exercises per workout.

Just get both as strong as you possibly can. The triceps should be stronger, though.

strong tri's = more weight on benchpress

op, do curls in the squat rack
>> Anonymous
strong bi's=more weight on curls

amirite?

looks a little unproportional so i've been busting my ass when it comes to biceps.

your tris should be stronger, they're used in far more
