boredom between workouts Anonymous
So shit like video games, the internet and movies just don't cut it for me. I crave more physical activity like a fucking drug addict, especially on my 'resting' days. Would it _really_ be that bad to bust out a few squats or other strenuous physical activity on several consecutive days? is rest THAT important for recovery?

You can do it, but dont expect to gain anything from it.

try playing a sport or something. most sports are more about running and cardio anyway so it won't hurt to do it a lot. just never push yourself too hard.

i work out six days a week, 3 days upper body 3 days lower, rest on sunday. I know its not the best split, but it works for me. i haven't gained too much mass by strength wise its been so cash. =x

Yes, recovery is more important than the actual training, it's where all your gains come from. (Well, if you didn't train you wouldn't have the recovery effect, but you know what I'm talking about.)

Recovery is where your gains come from. If by "strenuous" you mean CNS intensive, then no. If you mean "strenuous" by 40 rep squats or some shit, then maybe that's okay.

Otherwise pick up a sport. Go play hockey or choke someone out

excellent advice. A bit hard to follow through.
