/fit/ how does I do a high kick?

I know it takes dynamic stretching instead of static, but not sure of what kind of stretches to do
>> Anonymous
If you want to high kick, train a martial art or something. Using any kick above waist hight in a real fight is stupid, dangerous and leaves you very vulnerable.

Common misconception, actually.

No martial arts schools in the area unfortunately

No.

Not the same guy, but I can explain. Dynamic stretching is just the ability to stretch said level without any warm up. One can still kick to that level with only static stretching abilities, but it takes warming up to do.

I'm not>>173998but I can tell you that I can kick like the OP's pic but if I try to slowly raise my leg like that I can only go slightly higher than my waist before I cannot lift it any higher. I can't explain as to why, I'm no muscle expert, sorry.

That's because static stretching (doing a split) does not mean you can do dynamic stretching

Lots and lots of toe-touches.

Once you can touch your toes, work on putting your palms flat on the ground.

So what dynamic stretches should I do to attain this kick without warmup?

Genetics.

GTFO genefag.

Do static stretching 2x daily, stretch each muscle for 20-30 seconds. Do dynamic stretching to warm up before you kick.

Look on the Instanet for leg swings, that is the type of dynamic stretch you will have to do to loosen up your cocks region to allow for the high kick.

Also the high-kick the guy in OP's pic doing is useless, the most important muscle to stretch for a high roundhouse is the groin muscle, if you can sit with your legs out straight and open them to > 90deg you can kick to the head.

I thought it was mostly hamstrings

I can't even hold my leg out straight in front of me without bending the knee

>hamstrings
Man you are retarded.

Now, now, no need to be like that.

I'm pretty bad at dynamic stretching... or was for the most part. What I did was stand in front of the foot of my bed and lift one leg and rest my heel on the bed. try to straighten your knee.

Once you can do that, I found two ways to increase my flexibility although I'm sure there are more. One way, is to just try reaching your toes of the foot on the bed and getting your chin to your knee.

The other is to slowly bend the knee on your supportive leg. This will put more strain on your supportive leg giving you more stability and strength (albeit only by a little) while keeping your other heel consistently on the bed with your leg straight.

Worked for me and now I can dynamic kick about head height.

some pretty nice heel kicks, but in a real fight you would be lucky to pull that off
