Hey /fit/.. I need your help...

I'm 5ft 8in and 112 pounds... I take in about 4,000 calories a day.. but it does nothing to me. I'm still (apparently) underweight.

What can I do to gain weight, without losing my nice, slightly visible abs?

Exercie less

you don't eat 4000 calories a day. that is easily double that is needed to maintain your body weight.

every skinny person thinks they're some kind of freak of nature, but they're not.

eat moar.

Not as ridiculous as it sounds. If you do exercise, cut it down to an hour a day, four days a week, tops. Stick with weights, avoid cardio, at least for a few weeks. Stay with that diet. Then see how it turns out.

Principle behind this is that exercise burns calories, of course. If your metabolism is as fast as you describe your routine should focus more around eating like hell, stimulating the muscle just enough to spur growth, then continuing to eat like hell.

I can sympathise. It is incredibly difficult to pack away so many calories throughout the day when you just don't have the initial weight. But I do also doubt that the OP is taking in 4000. I'm of a higher weight and I find it difficult to intake that much.

Fuck off.

I went up over 30 lbs eating 3k
I stopped growing as fast as I like, felt a bit hungry more often.

I eat 5k calories.

You're not eating 4k calories, you're just busy lying to yourself as an excuse, you should be cooking or eating, not on 4chan if it's THAT hard for you to gain weight.

You disgust me.

Mind going through a typical eating day for you? 5k sounds excessive and unenjoyable, but I guess if you can do it right.

My main problem is putting away calories from 8am-11am, I end up eating bad breakfasts almost everyday

No you don't. do you know how much is 4k cal?

Agree, I bet it's mostly carbs and fat with very little protein. What are you stats?

anyways OP

If you do 50% carb, 30% protein, 20% fat that's over 350 g protein per day. if you're taking less then that meaning rest of it comes from carbs and fats. which can be used in many things OTHER than building muscle.

OP get some canned tuna and salmon, Eggs/whites, Oats, Whey protein poweder.

OP Here: Yes I do, my average breakfast is a 19 pack of Penguins.

In scale, my lunch and dinner are bigger and of more calories. So stfu, I told you the details, why the feck dont you believe me?

Also, I only started exercising last month... 60 press-ups a day, that's all.

My main food is mostly sugar filled foods.
