Deadlifts are far superior to squats. /fit/ is just retarded.

Come to think of it, yeah, it is.

I preferred squats, but I have a problem with squats when the bars on my upper back. It does something to my neck and makes half my right arm go numb. So the doc told me to stop, so now I can only do deadlifts.

4. Triceps extension in the smith machine

Well played sir.

If I were to cheat on squatz with one exercise, it would definitely be the deadlift.
>> Anonymous
heavy weight with

1. Snatch
2. Clean and Jerk
3. Behind neck jerk - just for the massive weight overhead
4. Back Squat/Front Squat - high bar all the way.
5. Muscleups and/or Handstand pushups just for fun/show
>> Anonymous
I hate deadlifts. I love squats.
>> Anonymous
1) Kettlebell Snatch
2) Deadlift
3) Pullups
4) Weighted Dips
5) One Arm Kettlebell Pop-Ups (get on decline ab bench or table, lower yourself with KB/DB arm locked above your head, you will end up at the bottom looking like a decline benchpress, raise up with the KB/DB into the overhead position. Your arm stays locked the entire time and you have to keep your shoulder down and close). One arm version gives you an intense oblique workout with the abs. You can do the barbell/sandbag version, I just simply don't have one with me.

From the back i'm pretty impressive. From the front I kind of look like a boneless chicken breast. Working on overhead strength right now, gettin dem shoulders swole dwag.

I have a confession to make.

I like the trouser press better than the bench press.

Printing press > trouser press.
>> Anonymous
My program consists of a deadlift work set and a standing overhead barbell press (strict). Two sets. Five reps with the workout max, five with 90% of that weight and I'm done. Stronger every session. Goes perfectly with my kickboxing/BJJ.
>> Anonymous
Deadlifts for the fucking win. Squats are overrated and useless. No-one actually needs huge quads. Hammies are much more useful :P
>> Anonymous
Pistols>squats.
>> Anonymous
I prefer dead-lifts after squats as well. After squats I feel completely exhausted and almost ready to pass out.
>> Anonymous
I like both.

In before IDIORT
>> Anonymous
I fucking LOVE deadlifts, I'm with you OP. My second favourite excercise have to be single arm rows though, JESUS CHRIST I feel so powerful when I do them!
>> Anonymous
nuffn wong with deadliftz, nuffn wrong with squats.. all good...
>> Anonymous
Deadlifts are amazing, but the only reason to like them better than squats is because they're easier.
>> Anonymous
clean and jerk wins.
>> CrossFag !!B/qKSvIDE0V
I love fucking snatches.
>> Anonymous
Flies are the best.
>> Anonymous
Despite being one of my best lifts (and having lifted for years), I still hate squats. I recognize their importance and will always come back to them, but deadlifts are way more fun.

TR is on the $ here

but TR knows his shit, so he can choose not to pray @ the squat altar, /fit/ cant

...but i absolutely agree with him.

my 5...+
1 BB snatch
2 DB 1 arm snatch
3 Sumo DL
4 Snatch grip DL
5 Tractor tire flips (700lbs+)
6. full clean and jk
7. Ring work (dips, muscleups, chins, inverted rows)
8. bulgarian spilt squat (this is great too)

-a fat bar makes all the above exponentially sexier, same with other strongman implements

the machines i approve of
1. ghr
2. reverse hyper
-every other machine is bad. and yes, i do mean to make sweeping statements

eventually there will come a day when i'll only train the movements i love (the ones i listed)

Squats work your quads and hams together in the way they were anatomically designed to be. see Lombard's paradox. Squats are fucking hard which is why they are so good.

I love DLs though, because they ramp up so well.

1. Deadlifts
2. Power Clean and Press
3. Pullups
4. Chinups
5. Dips
6. Bench press
7. All forms of snatches
8. Front squat
9. Back squat
