I can't recall ever seeing a crushed larynx. I've seen a lot of shootings and stabbings and bad car wrecks, but off the top of my head, I don't remember ever seeing this.
Obviously, an airway issue is an immediate concern, and takes precedence over anything other treatment. A larynx that was crushed to the point where the airway was completely compromised would be fatal if not immediately resolved (by et tube or surgical cric).
Crushed to the point where respiration was extremely labored? then, yes, it may well be debilitating.
But if you punch some dude in the throat and it just hurts him a bit and makes him mad? you might get beat up.
