Swimming Anonymous
I started swimming two weeks ago to try and get in the best shape of my life, ever (not that I wasn't in shape before. I could do a 7 minute mile easy).

My workout is basically 30 laps with flippers on using just the legs as fast as I can then a 1.5 km swim (60 laps non-stop) and then I throw in as many 50's going really fast as I can (about 4-5 generally). Initially I could only do 20 laps with flippers and about 30 non-stop (2 weeks ago). I have to say that I've lost a bunch of weight as well.

Anyways. Questions for you guys:

1. Do you swim? If so how much time do you spend swimming and what's your workout?

2. What are your times on EITHER the 200,400,1500 (or all of them if you know it)?

p.s So far I can only get 29 minutes on the 60 laps :/

You shouldn't wear flippers when exercising, they are more for when you need to move fast or travel on water for a long time.

100m breaststroke, 500m freestyle, rest.
I do that about 4 times.
Other days I do
100m breast, 100m freestyle, 100m backstroke, rest.
About 4-5 times.

When I swim freestyle I don't really kick with my legs, because its so inefficient. also fuck tumble turns.

the fin haters are dumb fucks. if you've got split fins that dont' add anything more than like. 7 inches to your feet, you're actually getting a better workout.

i swim shit loads and i tell you, fins and hand paddles are the way to go.
