what is a better alternative to cardio? Anonymous
i wanna shave a few pounds to get rid of my belly.

but i find cardio gay and womanly. seriously now, i just dont like cardio (at least for the sake of doing cardio).

ive been look at martial art's (MT specifically) direction. how does doing an MA compare to cardio?

PS: is doing cardio counter intuitive to building muscle? as in, is it possible to build muscle AND cut fat at the same time?

playing counterstrike is an excellent source of alternate cardio to lose those few extra pounds

>is it possible to build muscle AND cut fat at the same time?
For beginners is quite common, but as you become more experienced is almost impossible.

Yes, a Martial Art can be a form of cardio, a shitty one IMHO
I've never trained in Martial Arts, but I guess those long sessions of kicking and training forms can be good.

how shitty is MA as a cardio? i mean, i usually see people sweating bullets by the time they are done class or finished hitting the bags.

Sweating is not usually a sign of how effective a workout is, just how heat your body is.

Again, I've never trained any martial art. My problem is that I don't see how people can keep a pace for more than 10 minutes.
I think boxing training is way better for cardio, those fucker barely stop and they also jump ropes a lot

how "experienced" are we talking about here?

A few months. But it never happened to me and been lifting for one year.
I put the blame on my lack of composed liftings in the beggining. Venutto in his book also says is just a mental thing or something, the body soon adapts to the new stress

dammit. so when is the best time most people "switch" up from cardio/cutting fat to building muscle/heavy lifting?

2 months? 3 months?

You switch when you are satisfied with the results.
For newbies is kinda difficult to decide really

It's called willpower.
The real pussies are people like you who are too lazy and bigoted to lose weight through hard work.

And learn some fucking English.
FUCK

gee? i wonder whats more manly?

PUMPING SOME MU'FUGGIN IRON!!!

or
running on a treadmill like a woman would

>>175646
How about which would be more effective at reaching your goals?
HIIT is a lot more effective than say, hitting the bag for a while.
Pumping iron isn't even a cardiovascular exercise, so I don't know why you even mentioned that one.

Also, most people lift AND do cardio.
Faggot.

i think im gonna summarize this article by stating that youre all fags

Then don't run like a woman, just run like you normally would

the only alternative to cardio is cardio...MA is like the guy's version of jazzercize, which is an innefective approach at making cardio interesting. Stop being a fucking baby and hit the treadmill for an hour, maybe listen to some metalica or whatever it takes to keep your dick hard doing it.

Lifting and doing cardio at the same time is NOT the same as bulking and cutting at the same time. Doing cardio while bulking cuts down on fat build up as opposed to muscluae bulk. Lifting while cutting preserves existing muscle.

Stop being a fucking pussy and saying "OMG TREDMILL GAAAAAAAAAAY" when it's an actual good form of exercise. Don't like it? Run outside. That's the same thing except you're landscape is moving. And you're less in control. It's your choice, now stop fucking complaining about something so trivial you goddamn tool.

Also, don't expect to do cardio/muscle at the same time. They're mutually exclusive as you get into muscle building activities, unless you're going for strictly endurance workouts, but you won't gain much in the way of muscle mass with those.
