Due to a minor, but very annoying heart condition and the fact that I eat fast food 5-7 times a week, i'm looking to get into a simple and easy to keep exercise program.

6'3", 175-185 lbs depending on my eating habits.

Been seriously looking at something like a jump rope, want to stay the hell away from those shitty looking small exercise "machines" i see on the TV all the time. I'm just such a tool i don't know what length to look for, or even where to really get one.

Are people going to think I'm retarded for walking into a store that sells exercise outfits and asking for one?

I'm not technically a beginner. I used to train extensively during the summer for Hockey, at an internationally acclaimed program.

More recognized in Canada than it was in the US anyhow. Was mostly just rollerblading and jumproping during the offseason though.

Not looking to lose weight, but i am a bit shorter on breath than i used to be and i really need to start some sort of cardio exercise.

I can do intensive stuff, i have an eliptical trainer upstairs, its just very akwards to use as its in the family room/not in a good spot while people are watching television.

Never been into lifting weights for a reason i don't really want to get into

Fast food is more of a way to get the hell away from my co-workers than something I really enjoy. I wouldn't mind eating in the car or something, its just simpler

Small office + annoying co-workers + 50% of our work force being special needs people tends to get on your nerves during lunch time. At least when the break/lunch room tends to be filled with "So this is what I think jesus meant". When you happen to be something other than a Christian.

Was looking where i could actually get a jump rope, and how to tell its the right size for me. Remember something in PE a long time ago about holding the handles under your arm pit till the loop touched the ground. And grab it from there. Is that accurate?

Measure from your armpit to the ground. Double that length and get a jump rope that long.

Oh, and they're right when they say quit fast food.

Other than getting you fat + high cholesteral, whats the real problems with it? I know it'd save me quite a bit of money, probably ~$140 a month.

Just too tired at night to bother making a sandwich, and wake up way too close to when i have to leave for work to do it in the morning. So need a little motivation
