Will punching a punching bag make the bones in my fingers denser from all the hitting? I heard this once before, and it makes total sense, but I want to verify.

Also, how long should I punch a punching bag each day to achieve a better punching form and stronger/tougher nuckles.

all suggestions welcome, thanks alot.

pic unrelated, meant only to grab your attention.

no

not unless you do it at the level of a pro boxer.

jogging a 2-3 days a week does not condition your body the way running 10+ miles everyday for several years does.

wailing on the punching bag in your basement for 20 minutes a few times a week will not make your hands any stronger.

it takes years and consistent practice to actually cause any type of physilogical change in your hands. like the level of a pro boxer that has been training for hours every day for many many years.

I'm sure I won't have the fist hardness of a pro boxer by doing that, but as jogging 2-3 days does help your body's conditioning, maybe not to the extent of a proffessional runner, punching around for half an hour every once in a while will do a little bit.

My hands currently are in pretty weakly shape right now, so even a couple months will give me results one way or another right?

I think you are taking the analogy a little to literally.

i used to do jumping pushups on a smooth cement floor for kung fu, my nerves are pretty dead and i can punch anythign and it doesnt hurt, also my knuckles stick out more and are very round

Even if that was possible, why the fuck would you want it? You are not going to punch any stronger, and you would lose joint mobility.

I would do pushups on my nuckles, but that's what got me into this
I can't do pushups on my nuckles, at all.
the pain isn't bareable, and I'm good with pushing through things.
the problem is my middle finger nuckle protrudes by about half a centimetre, making all 160 lbs of me come down on only two points of skin and bone on both my hands.

if my nuckles were flat, it would be fine, but they're not, so I can't do pushups like that until after I've gotten my hands harder.

well if it were about punching at all, than having my nuckles harder is 100% relevant, due to the fact that if I were to punch at all with my hands at their current weak state, there is a good chance I'll break my hand.
I'm also getting into construction with wood and cutting and stuff, having a dense hand is completely nescessary.

uhh..
Yeah, you prevent that by knowing what your doing and training your fist to withstand that type of impact, that's bassically what this entire thread is about preventing genius.
Who the fuck punches walls anyways?

Of course you can't do pushups on your nuckles. There's no fucking such thing. Maybe try your knuckles. It will be easier that way.

"maybe try your knuckles" also has terrible grammar

since when did /fit/ give a shit about spelling errors? don't be petty, you know what I meant.
