Dear /fit/,

Over the last 6 months I've dramatically changed my diet, and lost about 35 lbs. I feel great, and I'm very happy with how I look... except for my stomach. It seems like everywhere else on my body has thinned except for my tummy. Does anyone have any advice on how to specifically target the stomach area? I don't want giant bulging muscles or anything. Just an inch or two off.

pic related. I want that tummy!

You have to build some muscle there silly.

1. Girl or guy?
2. You won't get bulging muscles unless you work out for years even if you tried your hardest, don't worry.
3. You're probably eating too little.

>and realize that not every body can look like the one in the picture because bodies store fat differently.
Exercise and proper diet and she will look similar to the picture.

That's your problem right there. At a certain body fat percentage, your body decides your victorious starvation diet isn't sustainable anymore and then it clings to whatever remaining fat is left over. Sounds like you've hit rock bottom as far as that is concerned. I've done it too, but after a bit of changing the game, I've definitely seen further results and you can too.

Be sure to eat. Eat your maintenance and work out on top of that--game is to keep a slight deficit, from 500-700 calories. Google BMR to find out how much you need, put exercise calories burned on top of it, and then get your deficit.

Key rules of the game: big breakfast, low carb (recent study seen on yahoo news about this, fuck off everyone), taper your carbs so that you have more toward the morning and little to none by your last meal, eat 5-6 meals a day, eat protein with every meal, try to not eat fats and carbs at the same time, stick with low GI foods like cottage cheese and oatmeal--aka cut out the sugars in your diet.

It'll be slow, it'll be frustrating not to see lightning fast results like before, but if you give it two months with exercise included, you'll definitely surpass the picture you posted.

good enough. I have the same muscle problem with my arms. for my job i'm doing a lot heavy lifting and moving of furniture, so I have plenty of arm strength, but building muscle didn't have any effect what so ever on the amount of flab.

fucking sucks. but i can bench up to 130 lbs. having never weight trained in my life. fucking rocks.

my diet is already pretty similar. I'm a vegan, so I try to include as much protein as I can in every meal that I cook. Tons of veggies, beans (soy mostly), and nuts. I do need to eat more regularly though.

Then you're already a winner. Just eat more and I promise you'll see results.
