I'm about to move out to the country, far away from any gym. I'm really, REALLY weak, as I haven't worked out in a year. But I've been having a lot of health problems as a result of my laziness, so I want to get back into it. I'm considering buying a dumbbell set and a small bench, and combine that with running/biking.

Can you guys recommend a good dumbbell routine for a beginner? Also, should I just get a cheap set from Wal-Mart, or are there certain brands I should take a closer look at?

Just use Anchorarms. Then you can be a jerk, and everyone will love you.

check out the Bowflex SelectTech dumbells.. take up a small space.

there is actually another brand of dumbells with the same idea as the selectech ones but I am drawing a blank on the name.

Those are neat, but they're insanely expensive.
