Bananas Anonymous
Hey /fit/, I'm trying to lose weight right now 'cause I'm 22lbs overweight. What I'm doing is eating about half of what I normally would consume during meal times and as much as possible avoid eating dinner. But I'm used to eating a lot of junk foods in between meals and I'm trying to replace them with bananas because it easily relieves my craving. So in a day I eat about 4-5 bananas, been doing this for a couple of days now. Is this a good idea? Pic related.

Avoiding dinner is a stupid fucking idea, you're lowering your metabolism.

Fruit are good when cutting in moderation, but they're full of sugar. Instead of eating snacks, just eat six meals a day.

Bananas are pretty high in energy for being a fruit. I guess you could start out like that, but don't miss dinner. Try to to cut down to 2-3 bananas max a day.

Reducing calorie intake often has an inverse effect for weight loss. Just figure out how many calories you need daily, and make sure to actually exercise.

Indeed, 100gs of banana is 92c, other fruits such as apples (59c), oranges (47cc) are better, mainly if you are going to eat many a day, which makes the differences more relevant (e.g. four bananas: 368c, four apples: 236c).

Stupid idea. read up on how your body works. It will store all the food as fat. Your best bet is to eat small servings of healthy food about 5x a day and do some moderate exercise.

What about potassium overload due to too many bananananananas?

I mean, I know you can die from eating too much of any food, but I thought it happened quicker with Bananas.

Also, I'm not saying you're all of a sudden going to die. I just want to know the details.

Youd have to eat a fuckton of bananas and it depends on your baseline potassium levels. But too much potassium fucks up your cardiac function and may cause vertigo and hypotension or just general malaise.

Take magnesium as well if you're taking a lot of potassium, read up on the benefits of both of them together
