Hey /fit/, i need your advice. I'm 6'6" and around 260 pounds down from 380. Im hoping to get down to 185-190 but i've recently starting doing weightlifting, attempting a decent set of press ups/sit ups. I was wondering, would it be better to lose more weight then fire into a workout plan or keep going. I don't want to be one of those ginat musscle bound guys, just slim, fit and healthy. What's your advice?

Pic kinda related, it's the only girl I want to fuck, ever.

I think the general trend is to lose weight first and then go through an intense workout, because you want to be slim

having some muscle mass will help you as you approach your goals (muscle burns fat)

but, I will warn that your weight loss may slow for a couple of weeks if you start a weight lifting routine. during that time you may want to pay attention to your overall shape rather than what the numbers on the scales are.

414032 here.

That pic is so hi res, I can see the hairs on her tits lol 0.0. Amazing.

Like the post after me, you def. need to keep track of losing weight again when you are gaining (the common misconception is that you can keep losing weight while bulking up). Therefore, you need to run! I recommend 35 minutes at 6.5 mph, it's not too hard so you won't lose your motivation.

cool thanks.recently the weights been coming off at 3/4 pounds a week, all in all 118 pounds has come off in almost 11 months. 180-190 should be a healthy weight to aim for. Thanks for the advice chaps.

Yeah I'm 6'6" and 190ish lbs. You wouldn't want to be much skinnier than I am, as I'm assuming we have a similar frame if you were able to hit 380 lbs.

I used to weigh 220 ish, so I'm not really in the same league as you, but I did a lot of cardio through sport and no weights beyond pushups/situps every other night and it's worked out quite well.

This is a pretty good goal to aim for in terms of judging your cardio capacity.

yeah, 380 was the highest I hit. I've a pretty big build but i not want to end up bulging like the fucking incredible hulk. i'll stick with the cardio just now and once i've come down a bit in weight i'll get right into a proper workout program.

6'6 190 is a frame that doesn't have muscle. You'd need to weigh more than that.

DO NOT wait to start lifting weights. Gaining muscle is very hard to do and takes time. You won't do it by accident. Lifting weights will make fat loss easier.

I'd beg to differ. OP might have a bigger frame than me, but I am by no means a small guy, and am quite well muscled if lean, and fit from 8 months of sport training. i.e. 6 hours of cardio training a week, 1-2 hours of game/warm up time on top, as well as my own running/pushup/sit up regime.

OP here, im off, cheers for the help

no offense, but i don't call doing pushups and situps well muscled. you're probably very lean and your low fat content makes your muscles look prominent, but i'd still consider that kinda skinny
