Is it safe and productive to do yoga on off days to get flexibility and hit any weird muscles that normal weights won't directly get?

why not just rest on off days?

I did this as an elective during college, it counted as a humanities class somehow.

Anyways I can see how it be very beneficial to serious bodybuilders who often neglect stretching. I believe it might promote growth of your sore muscles since your opening them up and such.

Oh and I forgot to mention that in a 50 people class, I was one of the 5 guys, one of which was blatantly gay.

Thanks. I think I might try this every other off day if that makes sense, lol. I did yoga for a while, but no weights. Then I got into lifting and haven't done yoga since. Its not hard enough to replace a weight day with it, so I wanted to do it on off days while still maintaining an actual rest day or two in a week.

I took it in college, too. Out of a class of at least 30 (closer to 33 I think), I was one of two guys.

That said, I highly would recommend yoga. It tones the muscles and stretches them very effectively.

Hot yoga was one of the hardest thing's I've ever done. It made preseason workouts look like nothing. Sure you aren't lifting heavy ass weights but you are putting your body into positions that it normally doesn't go in plus its in a 110 degree room. Intense.

YES! I've been in the mood to do some toning.

I stretch on recovery days (I will do a full rest day maybe once a month)

Usually recovery days are 30-40 minutes on C2 @ 130-140HR with a lot of stretching before and after.

Perfect place to meet chicks then!?!?

I've heard Yoga helps people breathe better so it's quite good for overall health.

If you wanna meet some slim, flexible chicks with high stamina, then yoga's great. And yes, yoga helps tremendously with breathing. I hate to shift a weightlifting topic to martial arts, but I'm a student of kumdo and my breathing has really improved and as a result, I last longer in that hot armor.

What fucknuts, shit won't make you solid but you do tense your muscles in various poses.

Try pilates, that shit will tone your muscles, lots of chicks as well, and good stretch, just not as good as yoga, and neither is the breathing.
