So I have a question about metabolism and hunger.

I 6'5" and weighed 250 lbs and changed my diet and did cardio to get to 200 lbs.

I then found a passion in strength training and strated lifting weights. I guess I wasn't eating enough and was probably eating my own muscle mass so I dropped to 190 Lbs and people said I started looking too thin.

So i read up on food and found out I need to eat a lot to give my muscles energy and especially to eat protein to recover.

I did this for almost two weeks now and I'm up yo 198 Lbs. Is this because I was on too low a caloric/protein in take with cardio running AND strength training? I'm confused where the weight I gained went too.. I look the same thiness but I am 8 lbs heavier. My legs and arms are a bit more defined/bigger atm, by like 1%... is it possible the week or more calories and proteins helped them recover?

One more question, I used to train every day no exceptions.. even if it hurt or if i was exhausted.. this week I gave myself two rest days and I feel great. more energy and feel better during my workouts. I'm just confused what the fuck is going on with my weight.

water weight
you had empty glycogen stores before, now you filled them up

I'm in the same situation OP.

I increased what I eat to take in more calories, I eat more protein now too. I have a problem though, I'm always hungry now... is this because I'm taking more in and my body was always craving more but I was supressing it? I try to eat when i get up and have at least a snack every 2 hours like most bodybuilding sites suggest. To keep my metabolism going all day and when I go to bed I eat 1 cup of CC and a tbsp of natural PB to keep my metabolism going through the night.

What's up with my constant hunger?

but I read somewhere that:

"Your body can store about a half a day's supply of glycogen. If your body has more glucose than it can use as energy, or convert to glycogen for storage, the excess is converted to fat."

So did I gain two pounds of pure fat or is it just glycogen storage being filled as spare energy? I still have a healthy as fuck diet, I just eat more vegetables and proteins.

Ah ok.. so the 8 lbs that I am now is just water weight and glycogen stores? Ok, I was wondering how I gain 8 lbs... but look the same.

Eat roughly I gram of protein per pound of weight you wish you be.

If you are happy with your overall fatness, look at about a 3000 calorie diet.

Rest at least two days a week and make sure to rotate the core groups you exercise.

To gain pound of fat you need 3500 calories.

Your BMR is around 2150 (less if you're order then 20, more if you're younger)

Not taking a dump can add like 2-3lbs also

Seconded. Weight is nice and all as a rough indicator of how your progress is going, but it just is to variable to be used as a precise measurement.

As for the 8 lbs you gained. Part can be water, a little bit of fat may have come back, you may have gained some muscles. Most likely it's a combination.

Just make sure you eat a lot. And take in some extra protein right after exercising.
