Sup /fit/ I've got a quick question:

I recently started daily cardio, I'm mainly doing jogging/running and stomach crunches/burpees. Problem is my stamina is piss poor. I'm 6'7 300lbs, so obviously I know that it's going to be tough to begin with. but when it comes to jogging I can't make it past 60seconds before I need to take a breather, or at least slow down.

Any tips on how I can strengthen my overall stamina besides just keeping at the cardio? are there any other specific exercises I can do, stuff I can eat etc which will help?

Thanks

There is no trick. If you are a begginer, soft jogging for 30 minutes is adviced. Don't strain yourself, count your heartbeats so you don't have a heart attack. Having poor piss stamina if you've never worked out before is only normal, but the only way to increase that is increasing bit by bit the time and effort.

Have the number 220. Substract your age. That should result in the maximum heartbeats your heart should handle. Divide that number by 6, and count your heartbeats in a 10 second range. Try to stay below that number around 20%.

while I'm no expert, I doubt it. The heart and lungs are both muscles(to simplify) and you need to train their strength just like anything else.

I don't think you should be put off by how quickly you find yourself out of breath with this sort of excercise, alot of people who are fitter than you would also struggle to jog / run with the extra weight strapped to their back

Lungs are no muscles. By that way of thinking, just heavily breathing while browsing 4chan should increase your stamina.

okay thanks. I'm 19 so I suppose 200bpm is my max, although I was going to stay in the 160area because I'm not sure if my heart could take that with my high blood pressure/cholesterol and weight.
