hey /fit/ im almost 20, i weigh around 217 and I am 6'. I have been trying to get into shape lately. Some friends and I are really too poor to get a gym membership around here so we have been exercising outdoors. We go out 3 times a week running a mile and then just doing calisthenics. What I'm asking is if It's harder to get into shape just doing this or if i should try and save up for a gym membership. I also do martial arts 2 times a week for 2 hours a piece.

Want my honest opinion. It isn't the healthiest, but it works. I took adderall for like two weeks. Like 120mg, and I would do like 20miles a day or something. I would come home, eat when I got the munchies (you don't get hungry on speed) on the come down then sleep. Lost so much fucking weight, so fucking fast. Not the healthiest thing to do. But yea. I lost like 10pounds in 3 days.

72" 117 pounds now.

I recommend bicycle crunches over situps. They are better because you hit the obliques. Which you ARE leaving out with situps and crunches.

kendo training is farily tuff but it leaves me kinda lopsided. My left calf is huge and my left arm is huge. but the other side doenst even really compare

i dont know where you get that at all but you are rediculous. try and and then tell me this. you have to constintly keep you left leg raised giving a crazy calf work our. you are constintly swinging a nearly 2 pound shinai, when you spar you are wearing nearly 30 pounds in armor and all strikes require a lunge. tell me how that is all cardio and then try and do it for 2 hours straight.

I've done kendo before. It is largely a cardio effort. Also the shinai isn't anywhere near 2 fucking pounds it's made of bamboo for fucks sake. The bokken isn't near that either and I have a real bokken not the shitty shit you find everywhere. Real men(weaboos) train with bokken.

Did kendo for a year. Eventually stopped because I realised how retarded it was. Cardio, yes. But as a martial art and sport it was stupid.

Have done fencing (and still do) for about 3 years now. As a martial art...well it really isn't. But as a sport, I think it's a lot more logical than kendo. Tends to draw out the nerds and dramafags though.
