How to Sleep Anonymous
What do you all do to try to help get to sleep at the time you want to?
For me it is hard to get to sleep before 1.30am and that really messes up the time I wake up and my eating schedule.

Are there any easy-to-find foods I can eat close to when I am going to go to sleep to help me sleep?
I have heard that drinking warm tea helps, but I haven't tried it yet, but might soon if I don't get any proposed alternatives that are easier.

I have read countless websites about small tips to help you get to sleep like:
1.only sleep in your bead and don't do work on your bed (exception being sex obviously)
2.relax for thirty mins or so before you plan on going to bed
3.obviously don't eat/drink much sugar close to bedtime

None of it really seems to help me much though. Hell, I have even tried fapping to help me get to sleep, but that didn't help at all either.

Pic is what I wish I could be doing right now.
Help me, I am willing to try just about anything and would love some honest helpful advice.

Step One: get a spoon
Step Two: remove pants
Step Three: Insert spoon into anus

Profit: learning that there are much worse things than waking up a little grumpy.

I have the same problem, :
>2.relax for thirty mins or so before you plan on >going to bed
this is where youre probably doing wrong, if you're like me then you're probably the kind of person who is more active in the evening. 30 mins might not be enough, for me its more like 1-2 hours. Turn the lights off, watching tv is ok - but DONT USE YOUR COMPUTER turn it off, read a book or whatever. Its diffcult, you have to basically force yourself not to do stuff, but it works

i was kind of in the same boat for a long time, i couldn't get to sleep before 3am no matter how hard i tried and it fucked me up when i had to get up early. it didn't matter if i was exhausted and had 2 hours sleep the previous night i still couldn't sleep until 3.

i found a couple of things helped:
1) reset body clock. the way i did this wasn't by going to sleep earlier, but by going to sleep later. it worked, and it's the only thing i found that works but it's very hard to do if you get woken up (you will be sleeping during the day) and you can't do it with commitments. eg. go to sleep at 3am, then 6am, then 9am, then 12 noon etc. one day at a time until you are within an hour or so of your ideal sleep time. then inch 10 mins a day toward that hour.
2) routine is important. i don't think it's the 30 mins reading to "relax" so much as it is to tell your body "yeh i remember doing this shit, that means i have to sleep". get into a going to sleep and waking up ritual, even if it's 15 mins on each end.
3) if you are tired as fuck waking up you are either not getting enough sleep (different people need different amounts, 8 hours may not be enough), are waking up at a fucked part of your cycle (try changing the alarm + or - 15 mins) or not used to it. set your alarm for 5 minutes from now. lay on your bed. when it goes off jump up and turn it off. set it for 5 minutes later. repeat. sounds stupid, but it trains you to just get the fuck up.

If you don't sleep at all for one night, you'll be exhausted and if you can manage to stay awake until your desired bedtime, your sleep pattern will settle into the new routine of going to bed at that time. or at least it works for me.
