Hey, /fit/fags.

I have problems with my knees / hips (to the point where it's difficult to stand or walk correctly), so I can't do SQUAATTTZZ or leg extensions. What would be some good cardio / calisthenics to do while my bike is in the shop?

For the record, anything that requires me to stand straight with two feet flat on the ground for more than 30 seconds is out of the question-- at least, until my physical therapist fixes my fucklegs. For the record, she's all good with me exercising as long as I don't hurt myself.

Most def swimming.

if youre talking about rowing as in like full body rowing (crew) then no way, rowing gets all its power from the legs, and if you cant squat, theres no way you can row.

or if you meant kayaking or canoeing or some upper body rowing crap then you could...

otherwise... swim

Swimming is mostly legs too if you get right down to it. But you can cheat and use your upper body more.

Go swim and time yourself. Do an end, using just your legs and then do an end using just your arms. I dont see how swimming is mostly legs at all

swimming is definitely not mostly legs. if you're swimming for distance/endurance, you hardly use your legs at all (just to keep you afloat). using your large leg muscles will deplete your oxygen faster, so using upper body is much more efficient. even when sprinting, i don't think you're getting 50% of your power from your legs (but probably pretty close).
