Lifting depletes your glycogen storage, then cardio goes straight to burning fat.

Or, alternatively, if you just do fasted cardio (wake up, do cardio in the morning before you eat) your glycogen stores are depleted from anyways from sleeping and not having eaten in 8-12 hours. Either way, if you're looking to burn straight from fat, make sure you're glycogen is gone.
