EMT/Toning Up Lyr1anna !3GqYIJ3Obs!!fcA
In the midst of my Emergency Medical training, I realized I can't lift the goddamned spineboard with someone on it.
What would be a good way for me to tone up and maybe have a little more endurance?

Important factors to consider:
Female
5'5
120lbs
No gyms near enough to go to.

He wants to tone you up

What kind of tribe do you live in that doesn't have a gym?

Do you have monies to spend on equipment?

Hence why I'm here.

Well OP, I'm feeling nice today.
Just never say the word "tone" again. Don't ask questions, just don't.

You need to do deadliftz. I don't believe there's no gym around.

If there isn't, make yourself a sandbag.

you used one of the words /fit/ isn't fond of

it begins with t

and it ends with one

also SQUATZ and DEADLIFTZ is what you need to do in order to be strong enough to actually help people

I'm trying to avoid that situation, which is WHY I'M HERE.
The male EMTs in my town are stupid as fuck, and the female EMTs are ditzy as hell.
I want to remedy the situation by actually doing what I'm supposed to.
That just happens to be the reason I CARE that I can't lift people, unlike most.

Give me at least a little credit here.

I am sorry I used the T word. Won't happen again.
Ok, I shall make sandbags.
How much sand do you think? Would regular cloth work?

you need a gym membership OR a barbell with weights

Jesus christ, isn't there some test you have to pass to be qualified to be an EMT??

Well the no. 1 equipment you can get is a power rack, however it is somewhat expensive so if you can't get that a decent squat rack will also allow you to bench in it

so here's your shopping list

Adjustable bench
Power rack
If above is too expensive a decent squat rack
Barbell and 200 pounds worth of weight

Wether you choose to get a barbell with 30mm sleeves or 50mm sleeves is pretty irrelevant, although I do prefer the 50mm ones over 30mm

it may also seem like a lot of weight, but as time passes you will want to squat, deadlift and benchpress heavier so 200lbs should do you fine for quite some time

Haha, yes, but I think they must have either cheated or paid the testing people

I'll get right on that!

Thanks so much for your help, guys :)

Alright, then if you settle for the squat rack get one that can catch the bar in case you fail a rep

You might also want to consider revising your diet when you begin to lift

120 lb woman....

She could probably just fall prone and the weights would keep the bar higher than her back.

That's fairly difficult when benching

Oh cool, I've always wanted to be an EMT someday.

What's the training like?

I'd go with squat racks and power cages made of metal. If they're made out of plastic or glass they will shatter under the stress of the weight and anything knitted or sewn together probably won't be your best bet. Stick with metal squat racks and power cages.

Make sure to check that everything is welded. If its held together with scotch tape, bumper stickers or stamps it will most likely just fall apart the first time you use it.

lol'd

I hear wal-mart and sams club is selling power racks online for cheap.
