A question about bent over barbell rows:

Am I supposed to let the barbell deload to the ground after each rep as Stronglifts would tell me or let it hang from my arms after each rep? Back being straight on both, of course.

ideally it will drop to the ground (you use more explosive power getting it off the ground compared to just lifting it up from a dead hang) but it doesn't really matter

i have never seen anyone let it hit the floor between reps. thats like racking the bar between reps of bench

It doesn't matter, it's fucking rows.

Just do em

i prefer endless fretting and wrist wringing about doing it 100% perfect from every1's point of view. when no consensus can be found, to just 'not do them' because they are 'unsafe' like full squats and deadlifts and pretty much anything else that actually works.

but bench is safe, and all variations of it. same with curls.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say, I mean these are rows, a good assistance exercise, but form isn't really that complicated.

Any of the big lifts are pretty dangerous to do, squats probably the most so, and deadlift last. I mean, if you don't know how to do them , you will hurt yourself squatting, and even if you do know how, you still can if you lose focus for a second, maybe the weight shifts, anything like that.

Don't front like they aren't

it's more like letting the bar come in contact with the ground on a deadlift before the next rep. actually, it's very similar.

but deadlifts are supposed to have that kinda full range of motion. rows, it doesn't really matter.

although, i could argue that if your back is vertical enough so that you CAN'T put the bar on the ground after a rep, you're starting to move into shrug territory and not hitting your lats as much as you should be. but everyone's body is different, so yeah.

What about barbell rows?

They're not squats, so why are we talking about them?!
