Okay, /fit/

I am finally getting rid of this shit.
I'm 16, Female (in b4 tits or gtfo), 5"4', and... 170 lbs.
Yep. Fatty Mc. Fat. I used to be pretty okay, around 145~150, fluctuating through the day. But after some emotional distress I turned to food... And now I feel even worse, more food, endless cycle, etc.
I've already cut out the pop. Slowly cutting out the junk (I'll have a bag of chips twice a month or something.) But I don't have a shits clue about exercise. I mean, I used to bike a lot but I want to really push and lose as much as I can before I move in August. I know that /fit/ thinks I'm a fatty, but I really need your halp. Right now I'm just about losing the fat, then I'll worry about putting on some muscle.I'm hoping to start an exercise regimen tomorrow. Morning, if possible. Keep in mind I have class from 8:30~12:00 in the morning, but for the most part I'm okay otherwise. Thanks, /fit/.

anyway, just go back to biking. use your bike as much as possible to get you everywhere you want to go. of course, you also should start doing other exercises too, but why not get in as much cardio as you can, when you can?

pick up some kind of pilates or yoga or something low stress so you can ease into it. that's my recommendation.

Reduce your calorie intake to 1200-1250. Don't exceed this. Measure stuff as well.

Do lots of cardio, at least 30-60 minutes of it. The best cardio is treadmill (or simply running outside) or elliptical. I do 60+ minutes everyday and have been doing so for over five and a half months and have lost nearly 52 lb. It'll probably take you longer, but good luck.

anyway, muscle burns more calories, you want to keep every last ounce of it that you have and gaining more will only help you lose weight and keep it off.

i'd suggest HIIT for weight loss, i know /fit/ seems to suggest it for everyone, but it is very effective and takes less time then steady state (everyone likes things to take less time) it's high intensity interval training. so you run as hard as you can for a minute (or 2 minutes or 90 seconds, whatever time frame) then you walk or jog for the same amount of time, then do another interval of running hard, then walk/jog and do that until you can't do it anymore. it shouldn't take long to get exhausted, don't eat anything right after either as your body will continue burning up calories for a while afterwards (wait around 40 minutes before you eat anything after)

also, how many calories are you eating/ what does your daily diet look like?

Typical day is maybe-breakfast, maybe-lunch. If either of them exist, typically fruit/waffles? Not the best choices. Recommend some? Dinner usually is chicken. Since I love dem chikins.
Not fried though. Or from fast food places. Grilled or breaded, mostly.
Should be getting more salad and greens in. I typically sneak one of those 100 cal packs of insert chips/cookie/thing here in a few times a week. Tell me what to eat, please :O

most of those 100 calorie packs are just bullshit. They don't even attempt to give you a fat free version or something to decrease calories. It's just the same amount you'd get from the regular product, but it's already measured out for you. Fuck that.

My diet has a fuckton of radishes and I find eating a handful imbetween meals keeps me full and with the energy to do stuff.For meals I pretty much just eat fish and chicken in random ways where the only thing I add when I cook it is sauces and home grown herbs,with random vegetables I grow on the side.In the first week of eating like this while doing coke,working,and swimming imbetween I managed to drop 4 lbs of fat

remember to keep your mind on your goal, but also find ways to make your lifestyle change enjoyable. Dieting is a sure path to failure. you are fat because your lifestyle is unbalanced. you have to fix the total package to get a better body. if you are eating nothing but veggies and punishing yourself with exercise, you will hate it and quit and fatten back up.

if you want something tasty, just get a small portion. try to find a sport or exercise you enjoy to get your cardio in. a half hour of DDR will smoke calories!

also, try to get some other people involved, or at least exercise where other people exercise. studies show that people who hang out with fat people get fat themselves, while the opposite is also true. good luck kid! remember, the body stops making new fat cells around age 21. if you can keep a nice figure until then, you sand a good chance you will keep that figure as you get older

joining a sport is an excellent idea, however, quite often they require a certain level of conditioning. That being said, you should just find something that you enjoy doing, as you'll want to do it alot more than something you're "suffering through." HIIT was also suggested but I wouldn't recommend it to start, the reason being its going to kick your ass, and your never going to want to make that mistake again. Start with walking, move up to jogging, then when you have some endurance, go for gusto.

eat healthy and well. listen to your body - if you're working hard, you'll be eating more. if you eat the right kind of stuff, it'll all work for you. but don't completely deny yourself any kind of nice thing - sometimes your body also needs some fat, so if you're fiending for some chocolate, let yourself have some (keyword: SOME - moderation in all things).

It's hard to really help you plan a diet. I'd need to be there in real life. However, nutritionists are great. I was able to get help from one who helped me plan what I ate and what to eat and where to get it, etc.

Once you know what to eat, hit up the gym. Get at least 45 minutes of cardio 5-7 days a week. Ellipticals are probably the best form of cardio in gyms.
