Sup mis/fit/s, what martial arts do you do?

Boxing, Kickboxing, Wrestling (High school shit, it still works)

I have found that I have never had to use any of them, and that spending money on the kickboxing wound up being a waste. The other two were free, boxing is something that just gets handed down in my family, and the wrestling is from high school.

Muay Thai. I don't ever expect to use it in a real fight. It's a great sport and good exercise.

11 years Tae Kwon Do
4 years Kempo Karate
3 Years Kung Fu
3 years Brazilian Ju Jitsu
2 years Greco-Roman wrestling
2 years boxing
1 year Kun Tao

these all overlap to wind up being 11 total years in the martial arts (6 days a week since I was 9)

not the person you quoted but even if fencing itself is useless, it builds great reflexes, co-ordination and is a great way to keep fit.

Just like any other hobby. Not every hobby has to be directly related to killing someone else with your bare hands.

4 years of Tae Kwon Do. Pretty much a big fucking waste looking back at it now.

1 year of Japanese Jujitsu. Hoping to get into Brazilian Jujitsu and Muay Thai.

Why was TKD a waste?

point sparring

TKD is a gateway martial art. If it somehow spurred your interested in the martial arts, and health/fitness in general, then you'd be hard pressed to say it was an actual waste.

I did Shotokan Karate for ten years and even though most of the techniques are impractical or inefficient compared to Muay Thai, BJJ, or Krav Maga, I still don't consider it wasted time. They are called Martial ARTS for a reason.

Aikido
Uechi-ryu karatedo
Tai chi

I really work hard, practice 5-6 days a week. I also do supplementary exercises. If you don't go at least 4 days a week then you are not getting anything out of it.

Also don't be a sissy do iron body conditioning, it is an essential and is very valuable when done right.

TKD is a type of martial arts that is too rigid to forms and kata. I did it for a year just to understand it. But i really dislike how it has so many openings in any of the movements that in any fight can easily be taken advantage of.

I took starting from the age of 10:

8 years of Shorinji Toraken Ryu Kempo (school closed)
1 year Apollo School Tae Kwon Do (during last year of Kempo)

4 years Northern Shaolin Gung Fu *
4 years Tai Chi kun *1,2
4 years Wing Tsun Gung Fu *
4 years Wushu *
4 years Jet Kun Do *
1 year Brazillian Campoeria *
*(same school at Soong Lee Gung Fu/Martial Arts Academy)

2 year Kendo (no Bogi only trained with kote and boken)
1 year Spanish style Saber Fencing
3 years Yoga *2

Currently with school I'm only doing the yoga and tai chi because there is a place one block from where I live that is teaching for free.

Boxing. Started a few years ago with only the ventilation of stress in mind, but quickly fell in love with it.

I've been considering taking up others, but wouldn't know where to start. I'm interested in Judo or Jujutsu; something that doesn't directly involve striking.
