Inducing ketosis is completely unnecessary. You lose weight when your body burns more calories than you take in, so counting calories is the best way to do it. Follow what this says:

Eat about 500 less calories than your daily requirement, to ensure that your body doesn't lose muscle mass. Try to get good calories, and maintain a 55-25-20 carb-protein-fat ratio, or thereabouts. Cut out anything with high fructose corn syrup in it.

For people who are fat, any reduction in calories is good.

Its easy to lose weight when you're over 25% bodyfat. It just falls off if they actually stick to their diets.

I prefer high protein myself. Lots of chicken, tuna, and protein shakes. Eat a lot of vegetables too. Avoid pastas, breads.

firstly I don't care which food you eat. Just eat the same amount spread out in 5-6 divisions throughout the day, instead of less. already that's an improvement. By having fuel constantly, the body will store will less as fat.

Secondly replace cKraftP Foods with healthier foods.

thirdly having increased muscle mass on your body will burn fat faster. Just sitting there doing absolutely nothing, that muscle consumes more energy. Lift weights. higher basal metabolism for the win

losing weight can be a bitch, you need to commit to a timeframe of a year minimum, don't expect results in 6 months, plan accordingly. Best first step would be making a list of your calorie intake, if you watch how much you get in a day in a systematic way it will be easier to manage. There are websites that will tell you what you need to stay below to lose weight
