Yesterday I was getting some food out of my mouth and my nail hit the part of the top of a tooth just below the gum and I nearly shit myself from the pain, so I surmise I hit a nerve. Today I'm getting some slight tingling there; now I smoke, drink fizzy drinks and pretty much have never brushed my teeth, is there anyway for me to get the gum the grow back? They're staring to shrink and my teeth have a 'valley' where the gum should be. Am I fucked?

I hear dentists know shit like this pretty well. Like, they studied this stuff, or something.

Going to a dentist is your best bet, I'm certain no one on /fit/ is a dentist, so none of us can *really* give advice on this subject..

here to prove that dude wrong there are dentists ( in training) here. What you have is called gum recession, the gum tissue receeds from a combo of gingivitis and not brushing. it exposes the dentin, which is usually covered by gum tissue and is extremely sensitive. One possible solution is to get an over the counter flouride rinse like ACT but make sure its only flouride and rinse with that once a day, basically it will help with the sensitivity. The other option which I reccomend would be to go to a dentist. Those spots can be filled and if you never brush you should get a checkup so you dont lose all your teeth you homo.
