girl ive liked for a while breaks up with her bf and comes to me after a while. messing around a bit last night and she stops and asks where do i see this going and then tells me she has HPV that she got from her last bf (he didnt tell her) i really like this girl and wouldnt mind being with her but this HPV bit is making me a bit skiddish. i looked it up and most of the info is for females. it says that most of the time a healthy immune system can fight it off. so basically im just asking for info about HPV and how much of a hazard is it?

tl;dr girl i like has HPV, is it safe(ish) to further the relationship?

I was in the same position, and decided that so long as we kept things safe and what not, that I could deal with this issue. The relationship didn't last more than 6 months, and during that time I ended up getting HPV from her. Let me tell you first hand, being a guy with HPV dooms you for life. Having to face the day that you tell your new GF that you have an STD that can cause ape shits of damage to her, possibly cancer and more than likely genital warts -- you're fucked, dude. I've had chicks be pissed as hell at me for letting a relationship develope before I told them. And the ones I told from the first few dates straight up walked out. Be smart, don't do the hanky panky unless it's on the wedding night and she's anti-divorce. Or you'll hope to god that Doc comes back in time to fetch your ass and reverse your mistake.

Wear a condom.

Don't marry this slut.

End of discussion.

Condom doesn't work all of the time :p. Any kind of contact with an infected area will transfer HPV to you. Which means that if your balls bump into some spot on the outside surface that has warts (some are too small to be visible), ding, congrats on your HPVs.

Honestly, no sex unless this is locked in for life.

WEAR A PLASTIC BAG OVER YOUR WIENER AND YOUR LEGS AND ARMS AND FACE AND THEN FUCK HER.

It really depends on what kind of HPV IMO. If she has/had warts, then fuck no.

I've had sex with a girl that HAD HPV and I was still freaked out that I was going to get an STD the whole time.

Did she get the HPV vaccine? Forget about that cancer bitch if she didn't.

Her fault for getting it in the first place.
Wearing a condom reduces the likelihood you'll get it. But no sex is the sure fire way to avoid getting it

Do whatever you want. If it was me, I'd find a hawt virgin (if possible).

Obviously she didn't.

Men can get the vaccine too. I have no idea why they aren't pushing the vaccine on men too. Women can't get it if we can't spread it.

But on the psychological issue, I don't think I could be with a girl that's "diseased." And I don't think I could enter knowingly into a relationship with a woman knowing that I was only in for short term sex. I guess I'm a nice guy who doesn't want to hurt the feeling of nasty whores...

- get the vaccine and then mess around

- don't do it otherwise. there are many strains of hpv, some are very nasty. stuff lingers in your body forever and causes cancer when your immune system weakens (later in life). it does effect men, don't think otherwise.
