so i'm at the gym, and there's a guy on the bench. Usually would leave him alone and come back later, but its busy, and i ask him if its ok if i jump in in bettween rests; fine. so he loads up a moderate load, and i offer him a spot, he declines. He does 5 or so questionable reps. i warm up with his weight, barely breaking a sweat (not bragging, but to demonstrate how annoying what follows is).
I slap annother 50 pounds on the bar and start to do my reps. suddenly, without asking me if i want help, he comes behind me TAKES THE FUCKING BAR WITH BOTH HANDS AND PULLS IT UP EVERYTIME I DO A REP. He did this for 6 out of my 10 reps, despite me grunting LEAVE IT after every extension. wtf /fit/, how the fuck am i supposed to do a decent press is some wanker grabs my bar and 'helps' me with out even fucking asking!?!?!!

i don't mind people in gyms offering help; on the contrary it's wonderful, and I meekly try and offer my help whenever I think it would either be useful or wanted.
but someone dicking around with your workout withou asking is annoying, wreaks a decent workout and could even be dangerous (unlikely tho, i only add that to draw attention away from the fact that i find it REALLY ANNOYING).

So I was at the gym doing my 5x5 on bench press when this obviously juiced up faggot gets in my face and demands to alternate with me on the bench. So I let him and he loads up way too much weight and starts doing these shitty half reps so I go to help him do them properly.

alright, fair, lets say that i did disturb him (despite the fact that the minute i spent setting plates and lifting was time that he was spending resting anyway, and that i asked him very politely making sure that i emphasised the fact that if it was a problem i'd go)

WTF does that have to do with someone grabbing my weights whilst they're in the air? besides, this kind of shit happens when i'm on my own, and some jumped up passer-by thinks that bench press is actually a two person exercise.

try any lift that requires your feet to be on the ground (other than curling). competion for space dries up reeeeeeeeeeeeeal quick. I had to lift in my university's gym the size of 1 basketball court (including 75% of it filled up with stupid cardio equip) for 40,000 kids.

You know what pissed me off the most? When I first started lifting, I was doing incline bench, and the weight was to much for me, and ended up sitting on my chest. With fucking FLOOR STAFF EVERYWHERE I had to yell for help. Christ, I hate the fucking trainers at L.A. Fitness.

So today i wanted to begin with my bench press, you know? But there was way too much people so i had to wait for that guy to finish his sets. So i finally get the bench for myself, when that guy comes to me and ask if he can get on the bench with me. I tell him to fuck off but he insist. I don't want to spark a fight so i let him. I do my set of 5 reps fast and nice then i let him use it. He uses my weight and does 6 half-bench presses while looking at me with a cockmongler grin. He can't even do it right, wathever. Then i look at him in the mirror, he is looking at me. He's staring for like 10 seconds and he doesn't know i'm looking at him. So i turn around and he immediatly loads up 50 pounds while frowning and grunting. At this point i know there might be danger, so i decide to hang near him. So like, he unracks the bar and hold it overhead for a good 10 second before he slowly raises it down. He barely can get it up! He's about to do a second rep when i decide to get my hands on his bar. I am pulling really hard upwards but yet he still struggles to complete his reps. He is still looking at me with a squished face, mumbling something. I think he was asking me if he was hardcore? So after 10 long reps he racks the bar and let out a loud groan. He looks at me with a frown and say something. I can't hear much because he seemed shy, i think he asked me to 'spot' him again next set. I wanted to politly decline but i couldn't let him injure himself because of me.

Hey /fit/ I was at my gym today and I see these too guys working out. One of them was my buddy who was on the bench after doing God knows how many reps. So he loads a moderate amount because he already maxed out 3 times his body weight. He struggles a bit but everyone would after how much he lifted. /fit/ im fuckkkingggggg ragggginnnnggggggg. I was going to the gym today and took a shit tonne of roids. I get to the gym and everything is free except for the bench. so because im so fucking ragggeeedddd i decide that i want THAT bench.
