Hey /fit/. I've been doing those preacher curls at my gym and been putting on heavier weights on it but after working out with that, my arms feel like their twisted and a bit torn, especially on my left arm on the biceps and forearm area. Does anyone know whats the cause or how to prevent this? I want to work out with heavier weights and I know I can, but it always hurts like a bitch after that (rather than feeling sore) for the entire day so I have to stick with putting on lighter weights when I do those. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

No, you should be fine. In fact the only form of exercise you get should be bicep related. Those are the most important muscles on your body anyway.

not entirely a bad thing but you do need to be careful.

don't straighten your arm completely at the end. from the man himself ronnie coleman says about preachers:
"Do not go to full extension. Because your body and upper-arm placements are fixed, your biceps are already under natural leverage. Extending your arm(s) all the way to the bottom, then following with a sudden contraction would place unnatural, exorbitant and dangerous stress on the muscle(s)"

second, i have had this kind of pain as well. by moving my elbows closer together on the pad, it really seems to reduce the stress by naturally angling your forearms towards each other. i do the same with regular barbells curls by gripping the bar with my hands close together (6-8 inches apart).

Seriously, the more muscular tearing pain you feel in the gym, the more muscular improvement you will see at home. Check that you have correct form, but from the sounds of this, you are just a pussy.
