Okay, firs things first, you gotta start eating lots. Lot's of protein filled foods especially. Whey protein suppliments are really good, but not a neccesity! Nutrition>training when it comed to mostly everything fitness wise. You also need some dumbells.
Now google "compound excercises". Compounds are better for overall size since they work out more than one muscle group at once, like bench presses, which utilize the pectorals and triceps as the moves, and shoulders as stabilizers. The opposite to this is "isolation exercises", such as a bicep curl which only use the biceps as movers. There is nothing wrong with doing isolation, but it's important to do more compounds since isolations won't get you very strong.
A lot of people here will suggest the stronglifts 5x5 method, which is really good, but youll need barbells, dumbells, a squat rack, a lot of weights, and a bunch of other stuff, so maybe that won't be for you.
tl;dr Eat lots + lifting heavy -> bigger + stronger.
