all I know is that they're 80 bucks and supposedly the closest thing you'll have to running barefoot with protection.

OP, I wear with either old basketball shoes or in my converse all stars. but do you want shoes that were meant for running as a priority?

The water variant looks the coolest...but I don't know if I'd like to blow a hundred dollars on something I'm not sure of.

Thank you for the link and data, anons.

You're probably not gonna want to hear this but the easiest way is to go to a sports shop or shoe shop and try everything on, because it honestly depends on the shape of your foot. If you're into cross country or running distance, go try shit on and then find a shoe outlet or DSW or draft store and find a discounted pair. For instance I've got a broad foot so Saucony, Mizuno, and Asics are great for me whereas Nike and New Balance don't do shit for me. It's just a matter of how you're built and what feels right.
Whatever you get make sure there's about a fingerwidth's space between where your big toe ends and the front of your shoe begins to allow your foot a little action in there.
Asides from that just go with what feels right and get a new pair every 300-400 miles or so.
Good Luck OP.
