Hello /fit/,
I am a femanon who has been lurking on this board for some time. I noticed that the majority of posters on here are male, but I have a question about toning a female body. I am 5'4" and about 123 lbs. I am happy with the majority of my body, except my ass. Whenever I gain weight, it is always in my lower section (ass and thighs). I find it difficult to lose weight in that area and is asking for any tips/exercises that could help.

Anything that gets your knees to move up will be working your glutes. Running inclines, a stairmaster machine, lunges, barbell step ups, and squats, I find those exercises to help in adding on muscle to that area of the body. But really, you should be something to burn the fat off, like HIIT. Maybe you can do HIIT on a stairmaster.

I find that videos help me a lot more than doing it on my own. I will push myself to keep up with the trainer rather than giving up when I get tired. Also, what is the optimal weight for my height. Like I said, the rest of my body is thin, but my butt has always been BIG. I do like having a bigger ass (it draws some positive attention), but it's a little flabby and I have lines under my cheeks. This is hard to describe but maybe I could get a photo. Thank to everyone who posted. I really appreciate it. :)
