So /fit/ I joined football (american). I am a tall skinny guy measuring around 6' 2" and 140lb. We have practice everyday. The second day after practice we ran what was called a 'scotish mile' essentially all 45 of lined up with the football on the ground beside the guy in the front and we all ran around the yard (it is a large yard) and the man in the back of the line would pick up the football and run to the front with it and drop it again and this would go until everyone ran with the football. It took us around 45 minutes. The third day after practice we ran 'jingle jangles' which was running, touching a line, running back, then running back to the line once more, and running back to our starting point. We did this about 10 times. More or less my entire body hurt from not being used to this type of work. So my question to you, /fit/, is are there any stretches/routines/pills/ANYTHING that will make my lower back and every muscle on my leg above the knee to stop aching?

TL;DR: I joined football my lower back and every muscle on my leg above my knee hurts. How can I prevent this?

you might be tall but at 140 you might not be good enough for a sprint league lol. try eating and a lot, good carbs and protein it will help you gain the weight you need. you'll eventually get used to it.

You need to stretch AFTER you work out. Take a good 10 to 20 minutes just stretching. Also, don't stretch before you work out until you do a very light warm up.

Soak in an epsom salts bath. Take an Advil/Tylenol/Whatever you use. Stretch in the morning (after moving around a little bit). Make sure you're getting plenty of vitamins. Get someone to massage your back. Rub yourself. Get some Bengay.

Yes I have been trying to shovel food in my mouth as much as I can. I have a high metabolism. Usually I try to eat till I feel like I'll never want to eat again. Then when I get hungry again I will do it again. I try to keep a pretty good diet. I have also been adding some weight gain (I don't know /fit/'s stance on the stuff but w/e) to milkshakes, etc. Is this good enough?
