Hey /fit/,

A few years ago i fucked up my lower back, to be specific, the chiropractor told me i had "herniated a disc in my lower back" What would you recommend to strengthen my lower back up as to not fuck it up again???? Also, I'm looking to lose some weight, about 20-30lbs. Currently I'm about 5'11'' and about 200lbs. what would you recommend for this also? Thanks a bunch ^_^

So like, I'm not gonna lie and say that I've been working out or am planning on working out, but I am curious about something fitness related.

If you're fat, like, 280 pounds fat (male, 6'0) how long does it typically take to see visual results (i.e. how long before the actual skin goes away and your arms/stomach/etc slim down)?

This has always been one of the things keeping me from working out, because I heard it takes years for the excess skin to disappear. In other words I would be left with a formless roll on my abdomen or similar. >_>

True?

squats and deadlifts
I'm serious.
Well squats probably just hurt your lower back.
BUT deadlifts work out your lower back like mad and you need the two so you don't overwork one of the muscles.

If you don't know what these are, ask one of those Core people on the exercise balls in the gym.

Also, standing on one foot while doing simple tasks like washing dishes will help in some ways. Not while moving heavy objects though.
