From what I understand, the faster your heart rate is, that more weight you burn.

So in theory if I was to watch a scary movie while running on the threadmill, I'd burn more fat... right?

If its too fast, prepare for cardiac arrest.

OH YOU

wat

No.

I can't explain the technical shit behind it, but no. You have to actually be doing something to burn fat.

No. A faster heart rate only burn so many calories. Only speeding up your heart will not burn enough calories to use up your fat reserves. To do that you need to do something else.

In all honesty, exposure to sufficiently frightening stimuli will provoke a fight-or-flight response, which might make it easier for you to run more (for a bit, anyway). Either fighting or flighting will return the body to it's normal state (which will happen quickly while exercising). In that case you'd need frequent exposure to the stimulus to try it again and I can only see this devolving into a crack-junkie-chasing-a-bigger-high type scenario.
I would not suggest this; the added stresses may be ... unhealthy, not to mention the possibility of your scared ass falling off the treadmill.

Agreed, fight or flight = stress= cortisone = fat=/= what you want
