Hey /fit/, ive been thinking about getting some muscle milk as a protein supplement. Any anon have experience with the stuff?
>> Anonymous
it works well, but I use Isopure because I just really want protien and I don't want the extra carbs

MUSCLE MILK. PROTEIN BARS.

IF YOU ARE OVERWEIGHT OR TRYING TO TURN YOU ROLLS INTO MUSCLE, YES.

IF YOU ARE 112 POUND 19 YEAR PROASTING FROM YOUR MOMS ROOM, NO.

No

Wouldn't that be backwards, the skinny guy wanting to get bulked on shit and the fat guy wanting to avoid it and go for a more direct protein supplement?
>> Anonymous
>>21747
actually no, skinny guys burn that shit right up, if your skinny and have been working out and havving trouble building muscle you probably need synthetic hormones and/or testosteron rather PROTEIN BARS you see skinny guys get all the nutrients they need from less food, as apposed to people whose bodies will store most of what they eat and not convert it into muscle or burn it. aka fat asses

If you're skinny you don't need hormones. It's much healthier to just lift and drink protein shakes since you need to take in more calories than you burn.

I'm pretty sure if a skinny guy is raping his muscles properly his body will use the energy from food to help build them

MM is the best tasting protein powder i have ever had. I prefer to use EvoPro instead. Same protein without the vitamins and minerals...which i already supplement with another product. EvoPro costs way more tho =/

This shit tastes so good. You better watch how much you drink, or else you will start packin on the pounds.

Muscle milks is mostly casein protein with some whey. while it is good protein i don't see how it's even remotely better than whey protein which is a fast absorbing type. casein absorbs slowly though you can do the same thing with cottage cheese for fraction the price.

um, probably not? most people who are 'hardgainers' are really 'not fucking eating properly-ers' or 'lazy-assed training-ers'. they think they workout, using pink dumbbells, talking to their mates at zero intensity. they think they eat a lot, but they actually don't. before even approaching fucking steroids, keep a food diary for a couple of months. check bodymass vs intake before you start mainlining funky-shit into your veins.

pay attention particuly to peri-workout and post-workout nutrition. these can make a huge improvement to recovery and gains. google those two terms and you'll find a wealth of imformation concerning the best foods for this.

i think there is something about casein that makes it the best protein for something. i can't remember what it is though. ho hum.

This one is of course an obvious answer, but if you have a friend who has it try to ask for a sample shake and see how your stomach takes it... Me and more than a few people I know can't handle Muscle Milk because it is unusually harsh on our stomachs. Almost every 24Hr Fitness club has individual servings of premade Muscle Milk cartons on sale inside, so you can do that too.

As for its usefulness? Like any protein supplement (Muscle Milk is a quality supplement I think, just not right for everyone's stomachs apparently) it'll work if you train properly and diet properly as well. At 5'10" 224lbs, I'm hoping you're going on a fat loss/strength gain (and by gaining strength, automatic lean body or muscle weight). Are there any specific goals you're aiming for in your workout plan that could help us help you with some possibly helpful advice or opinions?

MM is yummy, but way too expensive.

These. Plus it has a ton of fat in it. Good if you want to gain mass, but still not worth the price imo.

OP here.
You got me on the dot anon. Im trying to lose fat and gain more muscle, mostly on my biceps and chest. My triceps are already well defined, and i can notice a definite strength increase in both my biceps and chest my entire upper body actually , but i wanna know what is the best way to increase their mass and definition? And another question to throw out, is creatine worth it or should i stay away from the shit?

Op here again, i managed to get a 3 pound case of powder that was usually $46 for $33 tax included, still a good bargain no?

Forget that shit and go with Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard before/after workouts and their 100% Casein before bed.
