hey /fit/, 5'11" 150 lb. guy here. I've been doing dips a couple times a day to build triceps, is this a passable exercise when not benching?

Is /fit/ a fucking revolving door? when 99% of the traffic each day are completely new to /fit/ and any concept of training?

Anon, you have asked this question, with out fail, at least 10x a day, every day. always.

then you ask about losing weight, with out fail, at least 10x a day, every day. always.

Don't listen to these retards. Dips are awesome for tricept development. and since they have a fixed weight you will generally be doing high rep sets. you can do these throughout the day many days a week and be fine. this is known as Greasing the Groove and essentially the idea is to keep the muscles constantly supplied with blood and nutrients and really lock in your neural adaptation.

High rep daily calisthetics are a part of most martial arts programs and several athletic/physique greats such as Woody Strode and Herschel Walker have practiced them.

if hte high rep method starts to fail you can obviously add weight in a backpack or really accentuate the negatives. Try to do a repetition that takes 60 seconds to go from top to bottom. That will tear the arms up and you should probably take at least a day off from arm work afterwards.
