I am really worried about how my weight loosing way is going...
I weight more than when I started exercising, though I have less volume. Is that normal?

I wouldn't say "much smaller." A given mass of muscle has 85% the volume of the same mass of fat. Too many people think it's like 2-3 times as dense, when it's actually almost the same.

A 200lb man with 40% body fat will only have about 5% more volume than a 200lb man with 10% body fat. That whole "muscles weighs more than fat" argument is so grossly exaggerated. A 200 lb man with 10% body fat will only weigh about 9 lbs more than a guy with 40% body fat of the same volume. 10% is pretty cut; 40% is fat as hell, yet the weight difference is negligible.
