So I was browsing Starting Strength the other day, and read a section that I skipped over earlier. Apparently we're supposed to pay a premium price for barbells or else get the ching-chong type that bend when you put more than 200lb on them.

Now, I'm a cheap motherfucker, and the barbell I'm using cost 10 bucks off craigslist, and I haven't seen any busted ones. Anyone have any bad experiences with cheap ching-chong barbells?

The problem is that the Chinaman making the steel stick has the same idea, "How hard can this be?". A true craftsman will know how to cast the shit so it has the most strength. And you should buy from a first world country anyway. We get too much shit from China, save a bit of money and buy some quality goods that will last.

In b4 "Dude, chinaman is not the preferred nomenclature. Asian-American, please."

Would it be to lame of me to request a rapidshare or torrent link of Starting Strength?
All the torrents I found using various search engines don't work...

I've got a shitty 15 pound barbell, but it rarely sees more weight than 55lbs so I have had no problems.
