What's a more effective squatz or lunges?
When I do squats with 10lbs in each hand, I can only feel the front of my leg muscles working. When I do lunges, I only feel my knees working.

I want to target my glutes and thighs. Pic is related

Squats; they are a staple of all weight training. If 20lbs isn't doing it for you, add more weight.

Lunges are not bad in and of themselves; but if you have to pick one do squats.

To get your glutes and hamstrings working, you have to take long strides when doing lunges, and keep you back as straight and upright as possible during squats. Be sure to keep your entire foot planted on the the floor and lift with even force between your heels and toes.
