Sup /fit/
I'm home for the summer and my family has membership at an amazing gym (Lifetime). I have a pretty thin figure around 6'1" and 159lbs and I'm 20 years old.

I work evenings, play games all night till 6am, sleep the day away, and then I wake up and get ready for work. It's a routine that suits my very weak self-control.

So my problem is two-fold.
1) How can I get myself out of this stupid schedule, it's a personal weakness of mine since all I want to do in my free time is game. It also doesn't help that I stuff myself with snacks and fatty foods after work as well. When is the best time of the day to try and get out and work out? And what are some good foods to stock up on that I can snack on before and after work to take care of the munchies?

2) So say I finally get around to going to the gym. I still can't quite overcome my own laziness. Unless I'm playing Racquetball, more than 10 minutes of Cardio is just too boring for me, and since I have no idea how to do free weights (and everyone who does has arms the size of tree trunks) I stick to the machines. Our gym has them split into different areas depending on the part of the body. So without really doing my own research I just do 2-3 sets on abs, arms, chest, shoulders, back, legs. I did something similar last summer and after about 8 weeks I noticed decent improvement. But this summer I'd like to try a routine that will leave me in even better shape. But I have no idea where to start, how long it should last, how to tell if I'm on the right track, and what I should be eating to stimulate muscle growth (right now it's drinking plenty of water and having a cheapass protein bar). Seeing better improvement in 8 weeks will hopefully impress my girlfriend when she gets back, and give me more of a reason to continue working out at college now that I would actually have a figure to maintain.

It's your own fucking life... why should we give you advice if you're admittedly too lazy to do fuck all with your life, why should we care? Grow up.

Go to stronglifts.com.
Ask one of the guys with tree trunk arms to help you. They are usually nice.

I'm not trying to be mean either, I am a really helpful member on this board, I'm just not wasting my fucking time giving advice when I KNOW this lazy fucking kid isn't going to listen to ANY of it.

OP here

See the thing is I'm not just a fucking lazy kid. I'm really driven in a lot of other areas, but I am results-driven. If I feel like the results are obtainable then I'll go all out if necessary, I'm not just some basement dweller.

That aside, what I need to help get myself off my ass is:
How to make the most of my time at the gym, a good idea of what I should be eating before/after workouts, how often should I work out, etc... the more empowered I feel, and the less I feel like gym=go and lift random weights for half an hour, the more likely I will follow a routine and get my shit together.

I know some of my requests are vague, but hell I worked out 3 times a week last summer, but it was more recreational then, now when I think about going to the gym before/after work I just get that "ughh" feeling.
