What's a good weight to start on when beginning deadlifts? I'm thinking of starting at 75 lbs, I'm still pretty scrawny

woah, you have to start off at a certain height? I've just been letting it lie just on the floor. how high should the bar be?

75lbs is good if you weigh 75lbs.

If you're just starting out, then fuck what everyone else says. Just put on 50 and get the form down. Besides, if you jump immediately to a weight over 100, I doubt you'll have the grip strength

lol

there we go. to a TOTAL beginner, recommend them doing deadlifts @ or ABOVE a 1rm.

you have amazed me /fit/, i may be cruel, but you are always just a fucktard

HAY OP, 'bar heigh' doesnt fucking matter, people pull from ALL different heights, rack pulls/lockouts to snatch deadlifts from a deficit.

You want the bar high enough that you're not rounding your lumbar spine in the bottom position. There's a time and place for round-back lifting, but starting out ain't it.
