ITT:Nutrition advice

I'm a freshman away at school and have never had to cook for myself. I was a wrestler all 4 years in highschool and never worried about my diet, the crazy cardio kept me lean no matter what I ate...My diet consists of whatever fastfood or dine out resteraunt i can get my hands on...Pic proves that this just isnt working...
I am on a medium budget but i have little to no cooking skills...
Help?

Lean Cuisine & Healthy Choice FTW?

They're only like $2 per meal and are microwavable.

The downside: they're pretty small meals.

with cooking, it's a case of Just Do It.

here's some simple stuff:

rice: boil it for 10-20 mins, it's done!
frozen veggies: boil for 5 mins
chicken breasts:
-put some olive oil on
-some rosemary
-grill for about 15-20 mins on each side

beef: fry onions at 1/3rd of full temp, with some oil (not a lot, not a little, but as little as possible) then put the onions somewhere else and wipe the pan clean. put stove to full temp for a min and then stick the mince or steak in, and turn it over every 45 seconds or so.

You just get a feel for cooking after a bit. it's not hard!

I'm a second year, after spending the first in the dorms with a meal plan for a nearby dining hall...

Just go to your local supermarket, and browse through the meat section. I usually find chicken leg quarters for 99 cents a pound, a few bucks gets me like 5 dinner's worth.

Just trim the skin and the fat before cooking. I simply wrap it in aluminum foil and bake it for an hour, at 400 degrees. Very soft and juicy, and tastes like chicken.

I never eat products aimed at Supermarket Moms.
