maybe dangerous

when you get low enough that your hams and calves are touching, you actually start separating the bones at your knee, causing damage

bah, i don't go lower then knee level i rather not fuck my shit up.

The lower you go, the less pressure on your knees
>> Anonymous
>>362618
actually not, either way you are sorta resting by leaning on yourself, use box squats if you wanna rest at the bottom.

>>362632
I'm no kinetics expert, but in any case I can imagine getting your ass back off the ground is going to cause stress on your knees at some point.>>362612
>> CWheezy !!bJFrM5LONOF
>>362640

There is obviously some pressure there, but at the bottom of the lift the pressure is on your hips and not your knees. Stopping before parallel is awful, because all the pressure goes onto your knees, there is never a point where it moves from your knees to somewhere else

doing it rong

Yeah it happened. All the way from my balls to the lower back. At first I thought it was my shorts. And I'm so fucking badass I still finished the set of 5 reps.

That's right. And I guess you meant kinesiology.

Hello. I'd like to introduce you to real kinesiology research saying you're wrong.

>The primary danger to the knee occurs when the tissues of the calf and thigh press together altering the center of rotation back to the contact area creating a dislocation effect. (Krieghbaum 1996)

My bad. I left out the full citation:

Kreighbaum, E., Katharine, B.M. (1996). Biomechanics; A Qualitative Approach for Studying Human Movement, Allyn & Bacon, 4, Pgs 203-204.

You're the biggest faggot. Ever. That quote was completely taken out of context to prove your point. Here's the quote, in full.

"The primary danger to the knee occurs when the tissues of the calf and thigh press together altering the center of rotation back to the contact area creating a dislocation effect. The danger of knee injury in this situation may be prevented if either of the following factor are present:

o center of gravity of the body system is kept forward of the altered center of rotation
o muscles of the thigh are strong enough to prevent the body from resting or bouncing on the calves.

Kreighbaum concludes the deep squat is of little danger to the knees unless these variables and factors are disregarded."

yeah, and what did i say that contradicts it?

OP said he was dipping real low, i said it was dangerous, someone called bullshit, i provided kinesiology research supporting my assertion

you provided a further quote that doesn't contradict anything i said

if Op is dressing in shitty boxers while exercising i'm guessing he's a dumbass faggot who doesn't know proper form, and I'm also not going to assume his legs are DUR HUR STRONG ENUF to avoid injury

now an hero

i squatted so low my back broke, shit was so awesome

You think squatting low is dangerous. You misrepresented a researcher's views, which only supports your claims when you leave out the rest of his paragraph. You do not possess reading comprehension. Therefore, you're a stupid sack of shit. Leave the training and research to the big boys, and go do some leg curlz. I'm sure those are safe.

>>363568
i absolutely did not

one person challenged my statement by saying it was categorically wrong

i provided a defense demonstrating it wasn't a categorically wrong statement

you misunderstood my defense as an attempt to prove a categorically true statement, which it wasn't

now go fuck a duck

I squat til you can't see the dildo no more

>maybe dangerous
>when you get low enough that your hams and calves are touching, you actually start separating the bones at your knee, causing damage

This only happens when you sit on your calves with your hamstrings, not when they just touch. The researcher even says "press", not "touch". You are still unequivocally, categorically, undeniably WRONG.

>actually not, either way you are sorta resting by leaning on yourself, use box squats if you wanna rest at the bottom.

Then you blather on more about how people shouldn't squat low, not even taking into account proper form, which the researcher you took out of context even mentions how to do.

First, you said something stupid, which is forgivable. Then, you lie to cover up your stupidity by quoting a scientist out of context. Now, you're backtracking like a coward. A stupid, lying, coward. Keep it up, you're giving yourself plenty of rope to hang from.

look at the MAYBE there, faggot

someone responded

I responded with a quote
>>The primary danger to the knee occurs when the tissues of the calf and thigh press together altering the center of rotation back to the contact area creating a dislocation effect. (Krieghbaum 1996)
supporting my MAYBE and arguing against ITT LIES

Then you provided the full quote. WHICH STILL SUPPORTS MY "MAYBE" ASSERTION

So where is my lie?
