SQUATZ

Can't imagine why. I don't think there's anything particular about men's legs that make it more difficult.

I will say though, I'm totally wiped after my leg days because they take more energy and effort to do. Just the squats alone are a challenge. Your glutes and quads are already well-developed and strong, which means more effort is needed to get them to grow.

I fucking LOVE doing legs. They are my most powerful asset. Everyone hates them but they are where all of your power comes from. Never ever miss a leg workout.

So few people realise just how crucial they are to building the rest of your body. Since they are your biggest muscle, the more you train them the more testosterone your body pumps out, leading to bigger gains for all your other muscles.

anybody got any secret tips or hints for getting big calves?
wendys dude again

I've had huge leg muscles since...8th grade. I've just always been active outside, playing football and running games with my friends, etc.

I got into DDR in 9th grade (I'm in college now); I also walk and bike everywhere I go...my legs are extremely strong, and I've never done any weird leg workouts.

There's your answer. My legs were only a little above average looking for a long time, but after I started taking my bike to and from work, my quads almost doubled in size.

welll its probably my genetics im 5'11
and 140
but i have chicken legs,

I suppose.

I hate the bikes I get though. I always ride it until I can't put the gears up any higher and then it gets too easy to peddle and turns into a waste of space.

just do squats, but not just back squats all different types of squats, because they all work your legs differently.

You need to do back squat, front squat, and hack squats, and leg presses to develop your upper legs, and leg curls, leg extensions, and toe raises (also called calf raises) to develop your lower legs.

these are just some basics, and yes it will take time to get well developed legs, but it will happen if you stay dedicated and do the exercises right.

should calve raises be done with weights in my hands
hanging down
or on my back(squatting hold)?
>> anonymous
i dont do them with weights at all.

These are my sets for calf raises

3x40 reps --- each set goes as follows

40x toes pointing straight in front
40x toes pointing inward
40x toes pointing outward

that is one set, do that 3 times and you will feel the burn in your calfs pretty bad, or at least i do. Also i do calf raises last after all my other leg exercises, just find that it makes it a little moar difficult.
