/fit/, is there any negative effects for having your heartrate over 80% of max for extended periods?

I got a ECG watch to measure my heart rate during my workouts. For over half of the hour-long cardio workout I did today my heart rate was over 80% of max.

if anything, i expect increased ability to do that shit. heart bigger, pumps better, muscle increase there.

how accurate is the percentage formula for calculating maximum heart rate?
