Genetic limits??? Anonymous
do your genes determine how much you could bench?

is it possible for an ectomorph to ever bench 400 pounds?

Genes do affect build and gains to some extent, but they are very flexible.

people involved in this type of the genome have broken down final expression to about 50-50 between genetics and environment for the final phenotypical expression of any individual.

but have it be known, even if you have the shittiest genetics, you literally can outwork (mind and body) and end up with a better looking, higher performance body than 99% of people out there (considering all 99% had better genetics in the 1st place)
genetics should never be an excuse, its all relative. and who the fuck do you think you are that you are sooo 'special' to be such an outlier on the genetic bell curve? its not like there's 100 shitty genetics for every one thats good.

TLDR: if you fail, its only your fault, and no one or nothing else can be blamed for your fail

penn and teller had a bullshit episode on "exercise vs genetics" they said an ectomorph could never get the body of arnold terminator

thats absolutely true

if both the ecto and the meso were to go to 100% genetic potential and then top it off w/steroids.

but newsflash.

how many people out there are pushing it to 100% genetic potential and topping it w/juice?

an ecto who realized 100% genetic potential would look like Frank fucking Zane. not arnold. but godamn, that would still be better than 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999% of people in the world.

tl dr: i guess if you cant look like arnold, theres not point in lifting

Strength is largely neural and has a lot to do with fiber activation. See various anecdotal stories about people moving cars/rocks/helicopters when in emergency situations.

Genetics do play a part in your bench but it not being ectomorphic so much as the relative length of your lower arms and any predisposition you have towards building the arm and chest musculature. I dont think 400lbs is too lofty a goal for anyone.

lol so genetics d/n have anything to do w/limb length relative to other body dimensions? or fiber activation potential? or relative amount of fiber distribution? or muscle mass distribution???

hey brah...try again

Those are regular people you hear about in those situations. What happens if you put an athlete into a fight or flight situation, you think they'll pick those objects up over their heads?
