Hi, /fit/. Rate my breakfast!

1x Medium-sized banana
1 Bowl of oatmeal porridge
2 100% Wholegrain "crackers" with cottage cheese and a slice of tomato
0,5 litres of water

I'm overweight, looking to start exercising. Also, what should I do now? I was planning to try jogging, but after reading some posts here I'm worried I might damage my knees.

Drink more water. At least two liters a day. That'll keep your digestion working.

1. use crosstrainers, they help to remove the impact stress from your knees.

2. cut your calorie intake to 500-700 BELOW your total intake for the day.

3. cut foods with high saturated fats. ie, fried stuff. changing your diet is a major part of losing weight and getting in shape.

good breakfast.

I'm doing a similar diet to yours. 1 bowl of combined oatmeal and bran flakes with water to drink. If you mix the bran flakes in before heating the oatmeal, they melt and add some pleasant gritty texture.

In high school, I was skinny as a pole, I never felt hungry so I skipped breakfast and lunch. Ever since I've started eating those meals regularly I've gained 20-30 pounds :< Gotta oatmeal + exercise that shit off.

In all seriousness, you could try taking up a sport. I used to be one of the chubbier kids in my class, but then I took up skateboarding. It never felt like a chore to do, just messing around trying tricks a little each day. I didn't even notice the transformation, but one day I just realized I'd gotten really thin and fit.

Exercise is really important & will make you feel mentally better. Walking 20-30 mins a day will do it. Wait until you've been walking for some months before jogging (depending on how fat you are).

Back from a 40 minute walk. I'm pretty fat, but I help out pretty often at home (living on a hobby farm) so there is really nothing wrong with my muscle. I've been running before and I never had any problems with my knees but that routine probably didn't last long enough to gauge if my knees are in shape anyway.

I spend 20-30 minutes on average each day shadow boxing, I kind of like it but I'm not sure how much exercise it sums up to.

All in all, it really feels like my physique is meant for physical excertion but I never had the motivation to seriously train, and there's a location issue that's preventing me from casually playing sports / going to gyms.
