Earlier at the gym today the unthinkable happened:

Somebody asked me to spot them for the first time :) .

I've been lifting for nearly two years, and for somebody to walk up to me asking for help, acknowledging the fact that I LOOK like an experienced lifter, and therefore a reliable spotter, felt just fucking awesome :) .

Today at the gym I saw some meathead douchebag and decided to waste his time by asking to spot me. In fact, I can do 6 sets of 200 on the bench, but today I feigned newfag and had him spot me for only 70 saying I was new. Went on for about 500 reps, 5 sets. God I like wasting people's time.

I went to the gym with a friend and I was gonna do some SQWATZ. After loading up the bar for my work load, he'd holding one of the pads that go around the bar to protect your neck. "Need this?" he asked.

I looked at the pad, then to him, and said, "Why don't you stick that between you legs. That's what girls do with pads."

Then I banged out 6 clean reps with a personal record weight.

Bulging disk, sciatica, 3 bone spurs in my left knee, a completely torn meniscus in my left knee, and a partially torn meniscus in my right knee. All surgically repaired. And a year after, through hard work I decided for the first time I would try to max out on the clean and jerk. After warm ups, and a few successful trials at 245, and 260, I loaded up 275. I rested for about 4-5 minutes then slowly approached the bar concentrated on the task at hand, and reminded my self of the techniques for the last time before my attempt. With full force, and a short grunt, I cleaned 275 with relative ease which was surprising, seeing as I never did more then sets of 5 with 225 before. Then for the hard part the jerk, with a quick thrust and push I completed that also with relative ease, and it felt awesome. What happened next was even greater, I had no idea a single person was watching me but I was wrong, about 15 people had stopped to watch me, and after I dropped the weight, they applauded me. A few of the trainers whom I hated so much because all I thought they did was chest biceps, and abs came up to me and congratulated me also. Damn that was awesome.

weight training in highschool with 2 black dudes and a whigger. they had put a lot more weight on the power clean bar than any of us had ever done before and the black kids had both done one rep of it. the whigger (who was too weak to do it anyway) said "I want to see ____ do it." and one of the blacks laughed and said "I'm sorry but I have to see that." So I stepped my pudgy ass up to the bar, leaned over, whipped out 3 solid reps, and just smiled at the nigra.

I've been lifting for about 6 years, it was far more likely a "this guy doesn't look like he's doing anything, he probably won't mind spotting me" or "maybe if I ask him to spot me, it'll be my 'in' for fulfilling my gay gym fantasies".

Well, more likely the first, but I'm in LA, so there's a lot of secret faggots floating around the gyms.

A month ago my doctor told me not to do squats due to my kneecaps feeling like something was gonna burst out of them. For the past 2 weeks I've been running + walking 4 miles, making my legs a little stronger and I noticed bending my knees from kneeling down didn't hurt as much anymore. So yesterday I asked myself, why not do squats? And I did. I didn't bring my ass down far enough or make my thighs parallel with the floor but it's my first day doing them. I'll get better.

tl;dr I can do squats now!

Also, dumbell pressing a pair of 100lb weights = win

actually, it's freakin annoying to get asked to spot ppl. you can't say no cause you look like an asshole, so you have to go and get some bastard's breath blown on your face for a few reps. i love -not- helping them, unlike every other pussy at the gym that 'helps' (cheats the weight for them) during their final 3-5 reps. pussies.

Moments that leave me feeling awesome are right after finishing my warm-down reps on an exercise and looking in the mirror to see your new huge muscles (as compared to how they looked 5 mins prior) And also doing HIIT on the indoor mini track (built around the other exercise machines), cause it feels like you're flying circles around all the losers 'walking' on the treadmills *facepalm*
