Does any1 on /fit/ take this stuff? I am using Muscle Milk right now and have been for the last 9 months and havent been that pleased with it. Heard this stuff was good.
>> Anonymous
Is it just me or is there a new post with the same question about this stuff everyday?
>> boneration !7k4hwAY0ew
I use ON gold standard, the double chocolate flavour and the chocolate mint flavour taste great. The cookies & cream flavour and the rocky road flavour taste like your grandmother's snatch and a cat's asshole, respectively. I hear the fruit punch is the worst one by far, though. I don't have the gumption to try it.

Muscle Milk = lots of fat

100% Whey protein is great for post workout shakes

Are there any good protein shake mixes that aren't whey? Whey protein activates my gag reflex, and its hard to drink a shake or eat a bar that you are constantly trying to throw up.

Chocolate is delicious (I'm a Vanilla fan mainly, but the Double Chocolate flavor is awesome)

Cookies&Cream does indeed taste a bit odd with water, but it's good with milk (but post-workout, i'd rather be rehydrating my body)

And i've also heard VERY iffy reports about the fruit punch flavor. After tasting quite a few different protein shakes throughout my life, i can't really see a "fruit punch" flavor being good to mix with a protein-heavy powder base (Protein-heavy Kool-Aid? good in theory, but in practicality...)

I can personally attest that ON extreme milk chocolate is delicious.

I'm about to buy the same shit OP. Im in the same excact situation as you, wondering if I should make the switch.

I probably will since its much cheaper. 10lb containers ftw.

You can get egg protein mixes, but I don't have any personal experience with them. If you go to a vitamin shoppe, there will be some sort of powdered egg protein product available, I think I even saw it in the "natures market" section of my Kroger once.

Also, there's a brand of whey protein that mixes to be more like a fruit juice consistency and taste, rather than a thick shake type thing. Maybe changing to a thinner consistency would help?

Good luck.

OP here, Im not really concerned about the taste. Just wanted to know how good it is building muscle. I go to the gym and lift 3 days a week, and swim laps on my off days.

I use this brand. Vanilla flavour tastes agreeable

I just started taking GNC Wheybolic Extreme. Has anyone tried this? What were you experiences?
>> Anonymous
i take gold standard double chocolate and chocolate milk, both taste great =) all protien will help you build muscle faster. it's better than not taking it, take it post workout. you can try creatine, too if you want CEE or whatever, not the mono one, mono gives me diarrhea

soy protein is fine too.
Don't buy into the estrogen myth, that's nonsense.

I like to get it from natural places: nuts, meat, beans, ect. These formulas fill your muscles with water, not protein. It takes time to get big, so be patient and don't buy into these protein shakes.

this one is pretty good also

instead of muscle milk, try EvoPro. Same protein without the bullshit. Good stuff.

you are thinking about creatine I think. Creatine adds water weight to muscles. The end up looking more bloated and less defined

Optimum nutrition 100% whey is an awesome brand. If you have the chance try it.

When looking for a protein powder look at the ingredients.
Why is fast digesting and is the best thing for you pre and post work out.
Casein protein is perfect before bed.
And protein shakes like muscle milk are good to replace meals, or have as a snack. Don't take them right after or immediately before a work out because they are slow digesting.

useful info. appreciated.
muscle milk does seem like a more of a meal replacement rather than a supplement

>>41474
not really. Look at the amounts of the listed ingredients compared to a meal replacement supp...and the price by volume too

What are the advantages of protein shakes over other protein sources like tuna?
>> Anonymous
>>41500
easily digestible, quick and easy to prepare, also not gonna have a huge impact on your daily caloric intake (unless its something like muscle milk thats like 500 calories per serving)
>> Anonymous
>>41500
just absorb faster, i take it right after working out and than eat a small meal an hour or so after

I've become increasingly convinced every thread on /fit/ is trolling. This board is as retarded as /b/, but with a theme.

Also Tuna has high levels of mercury

I take whats in OP's picture, and eat alot of fish, chicken and lean steak. Is there something as to much protein?

I had gotten the best results using this stuff.
It doesn't taste good in the morning, but it's decent after a good work-out.

This one got some unfiltered egg and milk proteine instead of the casual Whey extract.

Suppost to help mainly in recovery-period.
Fast recovery=less antrophy

No, you just piss it out eventually.

Yes, if your farts smell like rotten eggs and rotting corpse, it means you're not using all the protein you're taking in.

oh... That's why...

I take gold standard whey. It's good, mixed very easily, taste isn't bad at all. Definitly try it, it works, however it has less calories then muscle milk (but more pure protein) so just eat alot more then you would. but yeah. def get it.
