Okay /fit/ I started working out and eating right june 13th, I weighed 311 lbs and as of today am at 274. That being said, my goal is to hit 170ish before i stop the full time 6-7 day cardio/hiit Im doing, but I need to know from anyone who has had that much weight loss how badly the skin will hang off me after 140+ lbs dropped. Im already seeing my moobs get flappy looking and Im hoping it wont be too horrible, but would like some input from other big weight losers. Pic not related but its my favorite motivator.
tl;dr how flappy does skin get after 140 lbs of weight loss?

Loose skin = there's still fat in your skin

In most cases. Here's how you should check. Grab the SKIN as best you can, not the fat. It's easy to tell what is the underlying fat. If you can pinch just skin, pull it out and hold it for five seconds. See how long it takes to snap back. If it goes back in slowly, your elasticity is messed up, but it should tighten itself again over time.

Don't worry about this now. Worry about losing your weight. Worry about "loose skin" after you hit your goal.

Also, that faggot in the OP pic has an ugly girlfriend.

from what I've seen, most of the flab is in the stomach region... where a compression shirt while working out if you're self-conscious

the key to not having flappy sagging skin is a steady diet, constant exercise and atleast 3 liters of water a day. They water being the most important because it helps rejuvinate the elasticity of ure skin, i would know, i went from 255 to 160

Depends on your workout, your genetics etc.
Judging from the fact that you're trying to lose ~140 pounds I'd say a short period would be 1-2 years, probably more.

Take your time and you won't have any fuckin loose skin. Eat healthy, build muscle, and lose fat (not weight) gradually. Like someone else said, it's going to take more than a couple years to drop that much weight, but on the other hand if you spend your time building muscle you won't need to lose 140 fuckin pounds.

Hey, /fit/ I have a little bit of inspiration for you guys, as well as a question. Last year, starting at the beggining of Jan, I decided I was fed up with my current weight and wanted to go down to something healthy. I went from 255 to 165 in Aug 2007, eating a healthy diet with much smaller portions, and excersing regularly. However, my question for you is this, I am having trouble stabalizing my weight, during a given week I hover anywhere between 170-165, is it normally to keep going up and down? How do I stabalize my self so I remain constantly, is it metabolism, and if so how do I increase mine. Currently I am in the best shape of my life and am developing muscles all over my body, would appreciate the info, thanks guys.

>is it normally to keep going up and down?

Yes. You can vary that much during a single day.

Water weight, takin shits, early morning vs. late at night - they all contribute to variations in your weight.
