Is diet really that important to losing fat? As long as you stay away from junk food, shouldn't you do fine?

Go have a look at the calories in fruit juice

You don't lose any of your already existing fat by eating healthy, you just avoid getting more.

But, I don't need a real 'diet', combined with exercise, to lose the fat?

Generally, yeah. But some home cooked meals are going to be more unhealthy than a big mac meal. If you are eating healthy and keeping portions low enough so that you are never really "full", you'll lose weight no matter how much you exercise, just from day to day movement. Work out how many calories you need for average daily activity, then subtract around 500 from that each day to lose ~1lb/week.

try it for your self for a month check your results and if its what you want then keep doing, if not change some.

no. depending on how fat they are to start, plenty of people have lost a lot of weight just with changing their diet. especially if they ate a lot of junk food/soda to begin with

Depends on what you mean with eating healthy.

The sugars in fruit are better than the sugars in kool-aid my friend.

better for your overall health, but a gram of sugar is still a gram of sugar and has the same caloric content in any form

weight loss = calories in < calories out

whether you wanna do it by all diet or all exercise or a combination doesn't fucking matter. your body doesn't give a shit. but exercising makes it so much easier.

for proof: take your BMR and multiply it by HB factor 1, then HB factor 3. try going one day sitting on your ass and maintaining the former minus 500. good luck.
