First of all, that is your opinion. Some of these men and women want to build their bodies as much as possible simply because of the thrill or the exhilaration associated with having complete control over one's image. These individuals can literally carve their body into any shape, add on muscle to any area or deplete muscle in any area. It's not a superficial, either; they -don't- do it for the women and/or men. It's not an attraction stunt. This is the way they chose to live their life and you have to respect someone for making such a dedicated commitment to that.
Secondly, about the whole 'i have a hard time not getting winded after a few miles' statement you made? False. Mariusz P.(over to the left and also posted above) is a fourth degree black belt in Kyokushin Karate and is also a boxer. All martial arts require a high level of cardiovascular fitness because they are so stringent. Failure to enhance your cardiovascular level equals failure to thrive in your art, let alone ascend through the ranks. I know this first hand, because I'm a Kickboxer.
And thirdly, power lifters or strength athletes have an enormous amount of explosive power within their legs, lower back and hips.
Also, you don't really belong here. A good portion of the /fit/ individuals, such as myself, enjoy these type of physiques because they showcase tremendous power(protip: power lifting physiques, not bodybuilding ones). I don't want to look like the skinny bitch in your picture, but I also don't want to be as huge as Mariusz. Guy's fucking batshit crazy humongous. Regardless of my decision, however, I respect the man immensely.
Before you make a snide comment or disrespect the achievements of another human being, ask yourself how many gallons of blood they spilled, how many tears they cried and how much sweat dripped off their fucking brow.
