Hey /fit/.
Quick question that I've been unable to have answered through all googling attempts and whatnot:

How does regular cardio after a good HIIT session affect fat loss? Basically I've been losing weight now for two months and i've lost some 16 pounds and although i've only got like 6-8 pounds to go I've got the feeling that i'm plateauing so I wanna step it up a notch, particularly because lately, I've been finding myself more hungry than I used to, and eating a bit more (not much, but still a little) and since I've now come to the point where I can easily do very slow running without even feeling it I thought that after my HIIT's I could do maybe 40 minutes of very calm running, just to help speed up the process a little.

Is this a bad idea or is it doable? Will this diminish the effects HIIT have on my metabolism?

Including obligatory fight club pic.

have a question from your question. How do you know when you are plateauing? I've been doing weight training for a few weeks and I still see results I just want to know when I should switch it up or not. Also, when you plateau is it fine to just keep doing the same routine or should you switch and do other stuff every other week?

I have the same problem I already lost 50 pounds and I need to lose like 6 or 8 pounds too , I do some running cardio every morning, HIIT 3 times a week, I do cardio at the gym and do l do weight training too, 5 days a week. I eat healthy and I consume fish oil. But losing this last 8 pounds have been a nightmare, I don't know what to do, Im getting hidroxicut today to see if it helps.

Why don't you do HIIT more often or just step up the intensity/length instead of doing what you're suggesting? Or you could do several cardio acts per day. I'm sorry I can't really answer your question.
