trans fats Anonymous
obviously they're pretty bad for you, but they do occur naturally in a lot of dairy products.

I've heard that when you consume trans fats they remain in your body "permanently," ie. they're not soluble in water or whatever. Any truth to this, or is it complete bullshit??

Should I try to completely avoid trans fats all the time, or is it ok to consume it in moderation from milk, cottage cheese, etc. ?

trans fats occurring naturally?

that's about the dumbest thing i've ever heard, the whole deal with trans fats is that they are man-made because we blast polyunsaturated fats (most of the time) with hydrogen with a nickel catalyst added as well. thus creating trans fats.

Milk and cheese have negligible amounts of trans fat, nothing to fret about even if you drink milk every day until you die. Trans fat molecules are not permanent, but they are not easy to remove because the body treats them like plaque. Like other plaque-like molecules, HDL cholesterol and fiber can scrub them out of the bloodstream.
