this may sound silly, /fit/, buthas anyone ever tried running/jogging to books-on-tape? I was thinking of torrenting some tonight and trying it out in the morning; I love music, but I figure this might be more engaging/distracting, and it'd allow me to experience books that I'd like to read but never willdumb idea or wat
Havn't tried it, but I'm curious.. you'de been a pretty engaging book to eclipse good music though, kindly post your results...
if you can focus on it enough to comprehend, it sounds like a decent idea
I do all my workouts/running with audio books/podcasts. It's better than music because it doesn't set a pace, and it's better than silence because running is fucking boring.I've been running with audio books for over a year now and I'm never going back to music.
>>188235where do you get them? Casettes or do you download them somewhere?I've been wanting audio books to listen to at work.
Also, pulp novels are the best thing to listen to since it doesn't matter if you lose your concentration for a second. I tried running to physics lectures once, it was a real stupid idea. Now it's Andy McNab and Lee Child all the way.
>>188236I download them from forums using rapidshit. rapidfind.org has a pretty large audio book section, but I think you have to sign up first.
>>188236Oh, and I sometimes borrow them from my library and rip them.
OP hereaudiobooksforfree.comyou have the sign up, and the quality (of the free stuff) is so-so, but I'm optimistic anywaydownloaded Jack London's "The Mexican"
If you don't mind spending money, get them at audible.com.They have a huge selection and great narrators. Most of the stuff I illegally download comes from there and I'm a satisfied non-customer.
