the calories are absorbed into the bloodstream the fastest. Nothing makes you feel better than the instant gratification of a sugar spike. only takes a couple minutes, not even.you now have an energy high.

however sadly the accompanying energy low lasts significantly longer. 1-2 hours. And it comes quickly, 10-15 minutes. Then you're crashing. Then you feel like shit, headaches, I don't know. If the energy was drawn on a graph, it would be a short peak and a long valley.

· Big whack of sugar == that's an emergency situation for the body.
· Makes a big whack of insulin.
· Zone meal -- good amount protein, a good amount of fats, and a good amount of carbohydrates: a balanced amount of all.
· Hungry because their glucose is down.

I find the best way to use sugar spikes without crash, is to drink the sugar dissolved into coffee or Tea. The sugar spike occurs, but the caffeine causes the crash to be almost non-existent. Lots of sugar in the Tea.
