Hey fit...there is a lot of threads about losing weight but..how about a thread on how to GAIN weight? I'm going to join up in the Army on January 5, i can run the 2 miles in 14 min and do the required push ups and sit ups easily but there seems to be one problem, i cant fucking gain weight. I'm 5'7 and i weigh 124 pounds, i run a mile everyday after work -Monday through Friday, with Wednesday Saturday and Sunday being rest days- then do 100 sit ups and 60 push ups followed by some dumbbell exorcises. I eat ALOT its just that i have such a fucking high metabolism that i cant put shit on.. could you give me some advice on GAINING weight plox?

also, the army will train you right. As long as you can pass the height/weight reqs at MEPS they'll send you off to boot camp to get trained right. Especially since you aren't fat as fuck.

I know its not that hard, however i want to actually be able to you know, not die and stuff, so.... and im working on getting my 2mile faster, probably get it to 10ish by January.
>>268479
Hm...but i would like to be able to run faster and with more stamina, especially since on the battlefield i will be wearing 60-80 pounds of equipment, and i already eat as much as i can usually..but i must admit its mostly random shit i can get a hold of.

Heavy sets less reps? Ill have to try that one out, ive been doing a lot of reps with low weight, ill switch it around and see if that helps. Ranger handbook eh? ill have to look that up as well, and once again im hesitant on cutting down on the running...i guess ill have to suck it up and cut some cardio if nothing else helps in 3-4 weeks.

Hm..i hate rice...oh well ill give it a shot, ill just look up some good recipes or something, and body weight exorcises..all i really have access to is my dumbbells and then i run and sit ups and shit...-25,35, and 40 pounds, two of each- will these due or should i drive an hour and a half to get to a actual gym where i can use the machines that they have and weight room?

Also, thank you everyone for your input.

Eat continuously

While i train for Crew i consume about 6000 calories a day to build muscle and provide energy for erg till you puke sessions >.<

While your needs might not be as high as mine just keep eating all day long. I tend not to eat 3 big meals but just continuously all day long

Also protein shakes and things of that nature tend to be high in calories and well... protein

Like all the posters with average intelligence said, eat and then eat some more.

Seriously /fit/ is filled with fat and/or retards. Every fucking day it's "how to lose weight" and "how to gain muscle". Why the fuck am I here? There's no technique discussions here.

5 minutes per mile? Sequentially, even?

Post one, dumbass.

would you fag know the correct techniques? There's only fat or skinny fags here. There's probably 3 fit anons on this board. There are better boards for that.

How'd the meme that most here are skinny or fat develop? Basically, it's haters. All the skinny or fat people leave soon after trolling us for knowledge and realizing it's too hard.

Its worth a shot IMO. When i started training up i was running 1 mile in about 17 min....now im doing 2 in 14, i think within the 3-3.5 months i have till i go in i could possibly cut it down to at least 12min.

Also, this morning i went to the local GMC store and bought Weight Gainer 1850 to help meh out.......tastes like shit but god dammit i'm going to make this happen.

I wouldn't mind if you wanted to provide some information about techniques with me, go for it. Right now I'm just doing some basic shit so I'm open to any and all advice.

you're doing a shit ton of cardio and not eating enough. how is that hard to understand why you do lost teh wait?

also, your current regime is not exactly conducive to mass building or hypertrophy. lift weights, pull out the cardio a bit, and eat a LOT more, and you'll gain weight. HARD? no.

or hopefully they progress

OP, what program did you use to get those run times? I would kill to be at 14 min.

not that jackass, but if you want to gain more weight you really do need to get to a gym and lift some heavy ass weight. Doing body weight exercise is good, but in this situation not what you need to focus on. You need to give your body a reason to grow. It's mentioned all the time but I suggest you go to /rs/ and get "Starting Strength" and try the lifts he mentions. All of them are barbell compound lifts, and recruit a good deal of muscles in each lift. I highly suggest that you ask someone xbox hueg at your local gym for some pointers on technique, as they're much more likely to give you an answer that actually helps rather than just screaming SQUATS!.

Cut running to twice a week.
Focus on big compound movements with heavy weight:
squats
deadlifts
bench press
bent-over rows

get some asshole to show you proper form

don't fiddle around with dumbbells
keep your reps between 6-12

maybe irrelevant, but 3.2 kilometres (eurofag here) shouldn't take a healthy person more than 9 minutes

To make rice easier to eat, one of my friends suggests adding pepper and butter, ala mashed potatoes. In the South, they add gravy to the rice.

60/120s were what improved my run in basic training. sprint 60 seconds, walk or jog 120.
