Question for cardiofags:

What's your favorite form of cardio?
Why?
How long do you do it?

I generally go trailrunning/scrambling every day for about 40 minutes, and by the end of it I'm fucking destroyed, but I'm thinking of switching to swimming because I fear how high impact it is.

Favorite is the stairmaster.

Treadmill. It's easiest, but boring as shit. Depending on my speed/intensity, I run anywhere from 30-45mins.

Also, swimming is only "high impact" if you're doing it right. You have to keep track of your time intervals and push yourself to finish your reps to get any sort of benefit. I mean, you don't just dive in and wade around.

I think you're missing what "high impact" means. Its not whether or not you push yourself hard and are out of breath and what not. Its about the physical toll your body takes while doing the activity.

Swimming has probably the lowest amount of impact on your body. But at the same time it can be a great form of exercise.

>high impact
lolwat
Do you know what that means?
High impact is used for running and other sports, it's where there is stress on joints.
Eg. Running puts stress on the knees every step you take.

i usually do 40 minutes on the treadmill @ 6.5 mph. not my fav thing to do but i dont care, better than the gay ass stairmaster and elliptical

>better than the gay ass stairmaster
fix'd that for you bro'

Treadmill is high impact first of all.
Secondly, if you're doing HIIT it's not that easy to set the speed for the intervals correctly.

While on an elliptical or cycling machine you just push harder during the sprint interval, rather than increasing the intensity.

You don't have to worry about your joints too much anymore. You can get the cartilage regrown now.

I found this while I was looking for a way to fix my clicking knees.

i don't know what the fuck that thing is, but I got a c2 and it's fucking awesome. just rowed 60 minutes on it today and burned 766 calories whut

in all seriousness recent studies have shown that there is no real proof that high impact cardio(ruuning) causes any more breakdown than normal wear on joints. Run bitches.
>> Anonymous
I usually just do HIIT on the treadmill for like 45 to 60 minutes. Oh with an addition 15min for warm up of course.
>> Anonymous
what? only 760 calories after 60 minutes? how far did you row?
>> Anonymous
rowing is gay.... run you fat ass off. this is the only way to caloric freedom (8 miles is over 1000 calories) the average person (w/training) can get to that distance in 3 mos

so what if it's high impact? What, you plan on running till you're 80? Do what you like if you like it. What the fuck are you saving your body for, if not your youth?
