MAXES ITT. If you're above 300 pounds on anything other than leg shit, let me preface by saying I don't believe you and I want timestamped pictures of your muscular ass before I will. Max for benches, squats and cleans, with your weight and height.

Quarter squatting faggots, all of them. Don't worry brother, they will be cleansed.

>>418052

If grip strength is a factor in your deadlifts failing, then you need to get some chalk and use a hook/mixed grip.

OP just wants a picture of my muscular ass, which I will not deliver, but I will post my maxes.

Squat: 415
Bench: 210
Deadlift: 450

My bench should go up as I've just figured out the proper grip width and dropping my shoulders, so my long stroke has been seriously shortened.

Do you keep your arms perfectly straight before you pull? If you're bending your arms you lose kinetic linking from the strength in your legs and back, thus putting too much of the load on your upper back and grip.
>> Anonymous

>> Anonymous
>>418098
I'll try and notice it on deadlift day, though if I remember correctly I do keep my arms straight on the first lift, and continue to do so as I guide the weight down. I either brush the ground or hang an inch before...I hate slamming shit around and looking like an idiot. That alone causes my arms to be extended.
>> Anonymous
>>418087

Get some chalk, chalk makes everything better. If your gym doesn't allow chalk, find a new gym.

98 also makes a good point, I see a lot of people jerk upwards into their max deadlift which just wastes energy and can make you lose your grip. Straight arms, chalky hands, and just grind it up in first gear.

i do conventional (non alternate, non hook grip) over 425 on deads and to 405 on snatch grip deads before my grip fails. got over 600lb on an 18" strong man DL with alternate. i'm pretty sure it 'isnt' my grip
>> Anonymous
If I'm using a mixed grip, will one hand be weaker than the other? If so, should I flip the grip so both hands can be worked evenly?
>> Anonymous
>>418162

Some people say that over time a mixed grip can build muscle imbalances, especially in the lats. I'm sure how true it is, top level powerlifters don't seem to give a shit, and I'm sure it's something that is only noticeable after a long time and probably not that big a deal. But if you're concerned you could alternate grip, or alternate on your warm up sets.
>> Anonymous
I've never used a mix grip. Use wrist wraps on your heaviest sets. I'm deadlifting over 500lbs for my max and grip isn't a factor.

>>418278lol at my fail attempt.
>>418284I was actually trying to train for the Navy SEALS but my shitty vision is shitty (corrected 20/25 in left eye and 20/50 in right).

I haven't been doing much leg lifts because I had surgery for a pilonidal cyst on July 6th and it still hasn't healed yet! So right now I have simply broken up my workouts in to two day splits with swimming intermixed throughout the week so I can build endurance in my muscles.

First day is back and bi's. I always start with Pullups since SEALs minimum is 6 and recommended is 20. I do both wide grip and shoulder width behind head and regular. I try for max pullups first set and then whatever I get on the next set I do 4 more times alternating grip each set.

After I finish with my warm up I go to the pull down machine. I usually start wide grip and go for about 10-12 reps each set. I alternate those with Lat pull downs from the front (grab the pull down bar, step back and push the bar down in front of you. It's ok to lean forward to keep you balance).

Next I go to seated rows. I usually use the machine with individual hand grips. Here I shoot for 12-15 reps. I start out with just pulling with my back, no arms for first 5 reps or so, and then I finish with regular rows and do holds and negatives for last 3 or 4.

Onto bi's. I rarely go for my one rep max especially after all of the pull downs and rows. I usually use about 40-50% of my max weight and do 8-10 reps. * If you biceps aren't feeling the burn immediately after your set grab 10 or 15 lb dumbbells and superset going for same reps as before.

After standard curls I do preacher curls for 10-12 reps and usually 3 sets. When doing preacher curls make sure to only engage your bicep and to do each rep slooooowly. On last few reps do negatives.

Bench 195lbs
squat 255lbs
deadlift 400lbs GODDAMN

6'4'' 175lbs

I concider myself to be pretty strong for my height and weight. I've obviously got very long while thin legs and arms so lifts are harder for me.
>> Anonymous
>>418358

You've obviously got some good leverage on the deadlift though.
>> Anonymous
>>418327cont.

To finish off I usually do 2 or 3 sets of one minute pulldowns. Put on 70-80% max weight and pull down for 30 seconds and do negative for 30 seconds. It should be like one very slow pulldown. I place my hands shoulder width apart and palms facing in.

Last but not least I finish with the erg or rowing machine. Usually do 500meters full out.

Phew.

2nd day I do chest, shoulders and triceps.

Start out doing pushups to warm up(go for 70% max). Do a few sets if needed. Try and alternate hand positions:standard shoulder width, elbows in, diamond, etc. Here is my favorite part:

RINGS!!!!!

One of the trainers at the gym I work out at has rings that he lets me use. I set them up hanging from the pulldown bar and place them at the same height as a bench. I alternate between regular pushups and fly's going to failure each set for 4 sets. Then I do tricep pushdowns with the ROPE making sure I pull the rope apart as I extend down. I do 10-12 reps for 3-4 sets making sure to do holds/negatives for last few reps.
>> Anonymous
>>418377cont.

Next I go to bench press and do a warm up set at a comfortable weight and then go for my max or 80% of it depending on the day. I work up to max with about 3-4 sets so adjust weight accordingly.

Onto the military press. I use dumbells or machine depending on day/mood. 8-10 reps for 3-4 sets and go up in weight until you can't do the minimum reps.

After that I do a circuit. I start with pectoial flys with cable cross. 10-12 reps holding last few, then onto pushups to failure, and finally dips to failure. I do circuit until arms are shot.

I end with shoulder raises. This is also a circuit (10 reps for each exercise). Here's the order: front raises palms up (bring from sides to neck), side raises, bent over front raises, bent over side raises, and bent over raises to the rear(pushing back). At the end of the circuit do a hammer grip front raise bring the dumbells to chest level and then spreading them apart until at shoulder and then back to center ( take your time on this one, I know it burns!).

That's my basic routine for my 2 day split. Some days I'll focus on a specific area and cut so me of the exercises. Feel free to add a day and do legs, or put a day of rest in between workouts. Always make sure to take care of your body by eating healthy! If you put shit in you get shit results.

Hope this was somewhat useful. Good Luck!
