Drink diet coke if you want. Since my brother got diabetes years ago, I've talked to about four different nutritionists and three different doctors. They have all told me the same thing... You can only harm yourself with diet coke the same way you harm yourself with anything, including healthy things: drinking too much. They all told me that up to three cans a day should be perfectly fine.

I dunno though, OP, do you trust the words of several doctors, two of which hold PhD's, and a few nutritionists, or some idiots on an imageboard?

Bodybuilders in off season might drink a little bit of diet soda at most. Most track and field runners I know at my school stay the fuck away from it. But regular ass people drink it.

Sounds fucking stupid. Kids are fucking stupid. The track kids at my high school also didn't drink soft drinks, not even diet ones because they said it's junk, but always ate school food (AKA, fries, chicken tenders, pizza, etc.). And then there were the cheerleaders, who said they couldn't eat candy, yet ate fucking fast food and shit. Kids just don't eat things that is stereotypically unhealthy, but eat other bullshit thats worse instead.

Anyway, I drank a diet coke with dinner everyday when I was losing weight, and I lost 10-12 lb a month. I dunno about the other people here, but it didn't effect me at all. I mean, for fuck's sake, it has no calories or shit in it. And who gives a fuck about low amounts of aspartame? People here usually blow things out of proportion... As the other anon said, it's fine if you don't over load on it.

the body has amazing abilities to handle shit. smokers smoke like chimneys for decades, and they're still alive! damn it, that makes our argument for healthier harder. but i'm sure those nutritionists and doctors would prefer you drink as little as possible of coke. the effects are not always clear and easy to read. and type 2 diabetes takes 10-20-30 years of bad eating to really get. this is about underlying habits over a long period of time, not a few sips.

however immediately cutting it out has helps, coupled with muscle strengthening which has immediately benefits against diabetes.

It is cheaper in the long run to avoid things that are unhealthy, because later in life you have less chances of having massive medical bills (which will only go up in our lifetime) due to heart attack/diabetes/liver diseases. Smokers may stay alive long periods of time, but what they are able to do diminishes severely as they get less and less oxygen to their body.

And alcoholics often suffer from serious memory loss because they're basically pickling their brains.
