Hey /fit/, quick question.

No matter how many situps I do, I'm never sore the next morning. Yesterday I did about 300 in a descending pyramid of sets to hit muscle failure, and this morning I don't feel anything. Is it possible that I'm doing them incorrectly? Maybe using my lower back to lift myself up instead of my abs or something? It seems like I should at least feel something the morning after.

Pic related.

Do enough of them and you'll get a blister on your ass--then you will feel it

Your abs recover way faster than other muscles

situps are shit. Do bicycle crunches or even better: front SQUATZ.

This.
Only time I ever had sore muscles from sit-ups was when I done 100 at once when I could only do 20 before tiring (elementary school and shit).
Now I can do 200 at once and after a hour I could do another if my legs weren't aching (I have no good sit-up bar on anything that could help me, so I use radiator on my wall, which is not only too high, but also pointy).
Abs regenerate like fuckers. You would need to either force yourself to do 3x more sit-ups in a set or do like 1500 in a day without any preparation to get sore abs.

the funny thing with situps is that they don't work your abs, but your hips.
SITUPS ARE SHIT, IT'S NO WONDER YOU DON'T GET SORE.

I had the same problem as you, OP. Do like a thousand crunches or whatever, yet never feel a thing. Finally I read in books somewhere two different approaches to abs.

1. Why treat abs like an aerobic exercise? Seriously, 100+ reps of anything is venturing into aerobic territory. Try some ab exercises with weight and keep the max reps to 20 and less. Or, try new exercises that change the leverage on your abs to make them work harder per rep.

2. Abs aren't meant so much to flex the spinal column as they are meant to stabilize your guts and hold everything in place. Try some nearly static ab exercises, like a Roman Chair situp except you don't sit up. Just lean backward and make slight side-to-side movements.

bicycle crunches and power breathing will get you those sore abs you want so bad

Its actually pretty good... I've been doing it for a few weeks and I'm seeing some difference.

get into the L position while hanging from a bar. If you are strong enough do pullups like this. it would get anyone sore
