/fit/,

are saunas any good for losing weight?

pic related, it's a sauna
>> Anonymous
Yes. Losing fat? No.
>> Anonymous
water weight.

but it's stimulating while being relaxing so it's great.
also it's not recommended to eat before going to sauna so fatties hafta take a break from eating to do something actually healthy so i guess it's more useful than useless for losing weight

Wow, I've never even heard of such a recommendation and I'm a Finn.

Ditto.

What sort of difference? Can't be very significant since I haven't noticed. I do usually go to sauna 4-6 hours after dinner because of my other routines though.

Sauna isn't any kind of exercise but it feels great so you should go anyways. (Some) dogs agree.

DOGS DON'T SWEAT

This is true. Mine demand to be let in the sauna regardless.

Like someone said, you'll lose water weight, this is useless if you're a wrestler, mma fighter, boxer etc.. if you have to cut like 10 lbs in one day to make the weight limit. but you'll gain all the weight back once you start drinking water.

so for permanent FAT loss, no, it does nothing for you.

In fact the compulsory beer afterwards will probably cause fat gain!

We have a sauna in my dorm at college. My buddies and I would get beer, vodka, etc and load it into colored nalgene bottles and just drink in the sauna.

4-5 ice beers and we were all just messes. Now that I think about it, we're all doing insane damage to our livers. Oh well. I love saunas.
