Ankle problem Anonymous
Hey /fit/, I've got a slight problem with my right foot and I've been waiting for weeks to find out if I can exercise on it or not.

Basically my right foot seems to be turned inward slightly, like my ankle is rotated slightly, so the right side of my foot touches the floor first. This doesn't cause any real pain but it could potentially affect my ankle strength/balance.

Does anyone know what this problem could be, and whether I can do squats/deadlifts with this problem?

OP here, I forgot to mention that I've been waiting months for an appointment with an appropriate doctor, and the appointment was cancelled last minute so I have to wait a few more weeks.

deadlifts are meant to be done with light weights ONLY. the weight set i bought came with a poster that explains different lifts. a warning is on deadlifts. look up the york lifting poster on the internet.

Why are you picking on deadlifts? Bench presses are far more dangerous. When was the last time someone died from a deadlift?

Btw, for every injury story you can link to me, there will easily be another instance of someone having success with the exercise. Injuries are a part of weightlifting, though, and sometimes even perfect form can't stop you from fucking a cold muscle.

search good mornings and injury, see what you come up with. All have inherent dangers, that is why to do them correctly

try doing exercises with light weights and see. deadlifts are perfectly safe as long as you keep your back in a neutral position.
