Hey /fit/Anyone got any exercises (with or without weights) for a 400m/800m runner's legs? Also muscles does a runner really need to build up in the upper body?
SSSSSSSSQQQQQQUUUUUUUUUUUUUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
squats. And you need to work your upper body equally, body grows as a unit.Look at sprinters, they are jacked everywhere.
For the 400/800, you want to get stronger and have more endurance, not gain unnecessary bulk. Every muscle is used in these races.SupersetsSquats/lunges/cleansCircuitsAbsShouldersPsychologically, you want to visualize the kick every time you lift. The kick is everything.
>>290655You are an idiot. You wanna nto gain unnecessary bulk? Don't eat more.Circuit training is stupid, as is trainign specific body parts, as is supersetting!400 and 800 hundred are fairly fast races, you need the speed, use the weight room for that. using lifting as more cardio is fucking pointless
OP hereSo i should work the whole upper body as well even traps? also how many reps for not gaining bulk? also anyone got any specific leg exercises (other than sqauts)thanks so far
>>290668Don't work specific muscles, work moevments. Push/pull upper push/pull lower.use lower rep ranges, less than 6.although, even if you did high reps, if you don't eat enough, you wouldn't get bigger anyways
be like goku and wear weighted clothes
