So I'm overweight, and am tired of it and I want to lose weight.

How do I do this. Obviously 'stop eating shit foods' but what can I eat? What sort of exercise can I do?

What sort of routine should I have?

Since you're obese, right now all you really need to do is stop eating so much. How much do you weigh? Go find out what your BMR (basal metabolic rate) is and eat like 100 calories less than that.

If you want to start exercising now, walk for 20 min to an hour every day. You can't run right now because your immense fat will crush your knees. But if you do this exericse, DO NOT SAY "I walked for 25 minutes today, I can eat a slice of cake" because you can't. Walking doesn't burn a lot of calories, it will just get you prepared for heavier exercise when you get thinner.

I've been there, Anonymous. The first step is trying to make a step with your fat whale of a leg at all, so I commend the maximum shame and minimal effort it took to write a post in desperation to the asshole of the internets for help.

The faggot above me has mostly good nutritional advice. (Though lulz @ not needing salt. You need it but the average American eats WAY TOO MUCH of this so trying not to eat it as much as possible is good advice.)

And yeah if you're overweight just walk regularly. When you can jog for a bit without feeling like your heart's going to explode you can level up. (Just ask again and I'm sure /fit/ will provide you the proper mix of scorn and grudging advice.)

As far as I've seen, people on /fit/ don't take kindly to threads asking "HOW DOES I LOSE WEIGHT" because it's very easy to find that kind of information by simply googling rather than coming here.

Yeah just walk to build up your endurance. Try to walk for 30 minutes every day this week, then next week ramp it up to lightly jogging. Keep upping the intensity slowly and you'll be up to running soon. If your lungs are burning you are either running too hard or are really, really out of shape- I only feel lungs burning after a mile at a 12 minute pace.

You're also going to have to stick with this shit for your entire life. You probably won't even look different for a month or two, and you might give up on yourself. The fact that somewhere along the line you gave up and just kept shoveling hotdogs in your fat face is what got you here in the first place, so remember- you won't stay fat if you don't give up.

If you are as out of shape as you say you are, perhaps you would want to see about using an elliptical machine (assuming you have access to a gym). It shouldn't be as hard on your knees.

Also, pay attention to portion sizes! I hate to sound like a teenage girl, but the nutritional info on foods and keeping track of how many calories you eat is imperative.
