If you know exactly what you're going to be doing, then the best thing you can do is train for it. It's the military, so you're going to be doing medium distance running (2-10 miles), calisthenics, and long distance marches.
I don't know where you got the 30 mile figure from, no military organization is ever going to get you to run 30 miles with a pack on, because no one would finish.
The only things you really need to focus on are upper body calisthenics and running, or depending on what you want your specialty to be, possibly swimming.
