Hey /fit/

I'm an exchange student in Denmark currently and as such I have gained some weight (especially on legs and stomach). I have 3 months left in my exchange and I want to use them to get back to my normal weight. I have started going to the gym, but am always surrounded by pork, bread, and potatoes. Any suggestions on what I can do to get down 5+ kilos?

tl;dr suggest exercises and give advise to lose 5+ kilos in 3 months

weight train more. swap pork for chicken, eat salads to fill you up with good shit. and eat smaller meals. dont eat too many potatoes. just go easy on what you eat. dont make any meal look like it's your last.

I have been trying to eat less and avoid lots of carbohydrates, but danish people seriously serve potatoes every night. I also find it rare that we get any other vegetable. I will start asking my host parents to buy more greens...

alternatively,if potatoes are a staple of the diet then a.) eat less of them and b.) supplement your weight training with some really hard circuit training...check out http://warriortraining.co.uk/ - they are a nice bunch and will have loads of advice for you...

oh and drink 3 litres of as-cold-as-you-can-fucking-get-it water a day, spread out over the day.

chillis too can help

:D

the key is in the ice cold aspect, as when you drink ice cold water (2/3 degrees celcius) your body has to use energy up to heat it to 37 degrees (body temperature) a calorie is measures by the amount of energy it takes to heat 1cm3 water by 1 degree c, so hypothetically speaking if you drank 3 liters of water at 4 degrees you would burn an extra 300 or so calories a day in a controlled fashion - meaning the body wont see it as a stress response to lack of food and wont then go into survival mode.

the key is in the water :)

if your up for it then go check out the warrior training forums, introduce yourself and say what your looking to do and you'll get no end of help...there is also a lot of stuff to read back on in the advice sections...

good luck either way!

eat more pork, less bread and potatoes. i'm assuming that you're using 'pork' as a euphenism for 'man cock' here.
