fitness newfag here.
I recently lost ~100lbs through patient dieting. Im at a comfortable weight now only problem is since I didnt do a lot of exercise with the diet my stomach is still a a bit flabby and I want to flatten it and tone it up. So my questions are what would be the best exercises for this? Normal situps or some crunches and how many? Also whats a good ammount of jogging to do for a week?

Overall I'm satisfied with my body, just want to tone up the stomach area.

protip: you can't just tone up the stomach area.

do a mix of heavy lifting and intense cardio.

do compounds lift that use the biggest muscle groups in your body. learn to squat, deadlift and do some sort of rows for your back.

Sounds good, glad it'll involve more then one type of workout to keep it from being boring. Thx for the tips

if you can't go to gym then get a skipping rope. half an hour of intense skipping does wonders.

Good to hear you lost the weight. Exercise will most certainly keep it off entirely. In fact, I usually say to people that exercise is the more reliable way of losing weight than just cutting calories, depending on your metabolic rate.

But nevermind that, I'm afraid if you're dissatisfied with the stomach, it's counterproductive to just work on one area. If the stomach is flabby, it's likely to be just stored bodyfat from your dieting. Try doing a variety of bodyweight exercises; pushups, pullups, situps. As well as the jogging.

As for how many to do and how long to go jogging, how long is a piece of string? As much as you feel comfortable with.

Much of that "flab" may be extra skin leftover, i have it too, after also losing around 100lbs.

Not much you can do abou it, but ab workouts will help a bit

OP here, yeah i know its possible it could be some extra skin but i know some of its still left over fat. I wont give much of a shit over the left over skin if I still have some once I get rid of the leftover gut. If anything its just going to remind me of the accomplishment of dropping all the weight.

Btw appreciate all the advice everyones giving, Going to get on it next week once the testing is over for my classes that week.

Just lose more bodyfat, seriously, you can't just do a shitload of crunches because there will still be a layer of fat covering it.

It's all about body fat. I'm in a similar situation (but nothing like that pic). I just reached my 100lbs lost mark. Still got a bit of a stomach. I'm at ~155 lbs. Right now I'm just trying to reduce body fat, experimenting with how my body looks. I've never been this thin, so I don't know what it will turn out like.

But yes, crunches won't do you shit. Ignorant people say you need to "tone up" by doing muscle exercises. Bullshit for what you and I both want atm.
