Hey /fit/, I'm off to the dentist pretty soon to get a filling and I'm really nervous. My fears are mostly irrational since I have a dentistphobia I guessUgh, can anyone reassure me a little?
you will die
once i had to have a tooth extracted...the dentist pulled on it and it just broke off. took him 10 minutes to get the remains of the tooth out.
Don't worry. The dentist will shove a huge needle into you gums, which should remove some of the pain!
Just do like me, I've never been to the dentist in the past 13 years.
>>26397If they're anything like my line of lousy dentists they'll stick it into your cheekbone and numb your ear instead of your mouth.
They'll probably hit a nerve in your gums and cause half of your face to go entirely limp for the rest of your life, to be honest.
i went to the dentist after 10 years of not going because i had an abscess. i was soooo scared. but when i went i found out it really wasn't that bad! the only thing that really hurts is the shot in your mouth and that doesn't last but a minute. they are really good at aleiving the pain nowadays. trust me, i'm a wuss.
It could be worse OP. This summer I'll get a wisdom tooth yanked out. I hate having stuff shoved into my mouth so I'm planning on getting really drunk before.
>>26433i had a tooth taken out, and they gave me 20 count 7.5 lortabs for it, which was really not even needed. doctors are the reason we are all addicted to painkillers.
>>26433oh god, wisdom teeth are hellish thingswhen i had mine out, i got an infection that caused a giant cyst thing in my neck and i had to go back to the hospital so they could stick a ~6 inch tube in my neck/face to drain itand apparently i made fun of one of the doctors while i was drugged up
>>26433you can leave your wisdom teeth in if they aren't causing you any problems
>>26433getting drunk + narcotics = bad idea.
>>26510This one is (or will).>>26519Then I'll never worry about pliers in my mouth. Success!
When I got my wisdom teeth out, their anesthetic didn't work right, and I could still feel it a bit. Also, I was awake so I could hear them crushing my teeth before removing them. Then they stuff gauze or something into the holes which they planned to remove a couple weeks later after my mouth wasn't gushing blood. My mouth healed too quick for them though and they had to cut the wound back open to remove the gauze. Have fun at the dentist.
>>26480HA.. i got mine out in a snap, it depends on you jaw type, I have unimpacted molars, so easy, AND THE I GOT Vicodin, no part of that day was bad.
