Glasses-fag here. Trying to learn how to use contact lenses, and am failing so fucking hard, ever since I got my first pair earlier today.

/fit/ folks who do use contacts and are accustomed to them, throw me any sort of ways to get them in that you use. I'm about ready to try anything just to get them in (getting them out I can do, at least).

You'll just get used to it with practice

Stick with the Glasses. Contacts are expensive and annoying.

It's easier if you pry your lid open with a fork then pop it in.

But in all seriousness yeah you get used to it. I have contacts too but I just go with my glasses since I'm too lazy to put them in every day and sometimes they make your eyes feel dry or what have you.

Here's my routine, it took a couple months to get it down, but its pretty efficient. It only takes about 5 minutes, so no, its not a waste of time.

Ok, we'll start at night.

1) You take them out of your eyes, and put them in the fluid.
2) Soak overnight
3) Wake up in the morning, take allergy pill if needed
a) Wash face, rub out eye gunk
b) Put some eyedrops in your eyes
c) Make sure to drink some water
d) Unscrew the lids, and wash the lids with hot/warm water
4) Take the contacts one by one, and run them under a small stream of water. Get both sides.
5) Gently place each one on your clean lids.
6) Dump out the used solution
7) Run the contact container under hot water, and clean with soap. Rinse it really well so there is no soap left.
8) Refill with clean eye solution
9) Place clean contacts back into clean solution
10) Wait 30 minutes

11) Wash your hands thoroughly, pick up one contact with your right middle finger. Make sure it has a perfect concave shape
12) Take your left hand and pull your right eyelid up
13) Take your right ring finger and pull down the dark spot under your eye
14) Maneuver your middle finger and gently place on your eye. It should fit comfortably with no pain. If you feel a pain, that means its old and worn, you tore it, or its dirty still
15) Repeat with other eye
16) Blink a couple times
17) Drink some more water

Congratulations, you're now wearing your contacts. Make sure to stay hydrated throughout the day if you don't want them to dry out on you

i think they're the hugest pain in the ass at first for everybody

all i can say is practice practice practice

it took me about a week or two just to be able to get mine in without my mother helping me within 1 or 2 tries

When I got them they wouldn't let me leave the opticians without being able to take them out and put them in. Get a better optician.

took me 3-4 days to get used
here is how you put them in:
look up, pull down the bottom eyelid and put lens on the white area, it can cross a litle of your iris. then slowly adjust it to right position using the eyelid that you pulled down, it will pretty much just jump in where it is supposed to be, if you feel something is wrong then:
a)close your eye and move it around.
b) it might be backwards.
first couple of times are the biggest pain in the ass, especially if you dont like things touching your eye, but you get used to it pretty fast and soon will be able to put them in in 5 seconds.

also i use one day lenses so i dont have to bother with cleaning, and they are the safest(as there is no cleaning, so there is nothing you can do to fuck it up).

get laser eye surgery, it only costs like a grand these days.
