Soy protein, /fit/. Good? Bad? Healthy? Unhealthy?
I'm mainly asking for input from personal experience, not from some article you read on a bodybuilding website.

Any part of Soy in large quantities cannot be fully utilised by westerners bodies. we don't have the proper digestive parasites. It can cause bowl problems (serious problems) you are best to avoid it unless you are majority blood line asian.

whats with all this soy shit. why dont you go and chop your balls off and start sucking cocks instead of poisoning yourself with this shit.

>soy protein

no whey bro

This guy talks shit, he probably believes soy greatly reduces testosterone.

Soy is decent but if you're looking for an alternative to whey go for Brown rice protein, it's has all the essential amino acids, 80% protein and taste fairly decent

soy protein can be a good alternative to casein since it is also slower digesting. It is also high in glutamine, although some consider it low in methionine and leucine. There is a lot of controversy surrounding soy since the isoflavones in high enough doses can increase estrogen in the human body. However, it takes about 20mg/kg of bodyweight to elicit this negative effect. Thats a fucking lot of soy if you consider a 3 oz. serving of tofu contains only 15-20mg of isoflavones.

There has recently been a new study published that suggests lower doses of isoflavones can depress AMPK in the human body. This is very important for athletes and more research needs to be done on this. It is very serious. Its your call, whether you want to use it or not. There frankly isn't enough data on it to make a fair decision.

No.478099... lulz you dick. Fact not fiction, read into it, or, better yet, go to an educational institution and get a clue!
Large quantities of soy+westerner system= BAD!
Rice protein is ok but i haven't yet found one that doesn't taste filth.

I bet you guys avoid mixing creatine with orange juice because you think the acidity will ruin it. I bet you curl in the squat rack. I bet you squat 15 degrees. I bet you take muscle milk pwo. I bet you don't know much at all

>squat rack

It's a "rack" not a "squat rack." It's meant for shrugs, curls, etc just as much as it is for squats. When I see fags giving me dirty looks because I'm doing my curls there, I want to kick there fucking teeth in

This thread is garbage. OP just google your question, find bb forums and str forums, im sure someone has asked this before. You will be better off finding your answer else where.

I've been eating soy products for a year now and no, I don't get no bitchtits. It's good stuff.

what's the point?

One of those "LOL ITS NOT PROCESSED I WILL LIVE 4EVER" people?
>> Anonymous
Honestly, not a fan of single source protein. If you are going to do it, do it right. Get a multi-source protein and you'll be doing better.

in the end, this is still the best answer. consume a VARIETY of foods. small amounts won't kill you or cause aromatization, etc. still, i question the !OMG SOY! craze and think there are better options available.

also remember, soy is in EVERYTHING now a days (lethicin), much like corn. yay for subsidies.

It's fine, but I also take hemp protein as well.

What a lie. I lived in Japan for a full year, eating so much fucking soy-based products, and nothing happened to me, and I'm almost 100% European, with just maybe 5%ish of Comanche.

Unless you want to claim that my ancestors who crossed the Bering Strait or my ancestors the Visigoths are "Asian enough" to give me these parasites, consider yourself disproved.

And to clarify, I was in the BEST shape of my life then. I'm a dude. I weighed about 3lbs off my ideal. You could see abs. I had no bitch tits. I just needed to build some more muscle but hadn't touched any weights to lift.

tl;dr I eat soy in Japan for a year. I get best body of my life. I don't touch a single weight or do a minute of cardio for a year. "Best" == "Closest to ideal male body"

There's nothing bad about soy, though I still prefer not to make it my primary source of protein.
>> Anonymous
I love the people who think soy increases estrogen, and then go out and binge drink once a week. Or the people who bitch about it being an inferior protein source, yet they eat corn fed, hormone injected, ground beef.
