Pic Not related but it did get you attention.

Ok I have not had any soda in a week and I am not looking for praise for that.

I am asking for any of your mis/fit/s have done the same thing and then gotten chronic headaches?

I don't think it is from lack of caffeine because I still drink it in the form of tea and the like.

So Just wondering if anyone has had this problem and has a fix for it.

could be due to the fact you arent ingesting as much sugar. Get a multi and get in the sun (vitd) see if it helps. Also, tea is good..but drink a fuckton of water, yes a fuckton
>> Anonymous
soda has much more caffeine that tea, and it is possible you were slightly addicted to caff. which could explain your headaches, it happened to my friend when he quit soda as well
should go away soon
>> Anonymous
It obviously sounds like your from america, question is, why the fuck do you always drink so much soda/pop there?
1 can every now and then is alright, but you fuckers drink it with every meal, its the norm.

Shits fucking sick.
>> Anonymous
I gave up pop more than six years ago. When I first gave it up I do not recall any unusual headache.

No I havn't that is why I said I don't want praise I am simply showing willpower so I don't deserve praise lol.

>>458026
And I would expect that I hate my tap water and most bottle water is disgusting to me. I also can't currently afford a water filter thing.

And where do you buy your vitamins give me suggestions I know nothing literally about health food and such.

yeah, i've had it. it _is_ caffeine/sugar withdrawa and you were probably drinking more than you realized which is why your current intake isn't enough. just stick to your guns and don't go back to it. they're loaded with all sorts of bullshit calories and you don't need it.

I'm 3 years clean for soda. When I went off soda, I has a nice low grade headache for about a week or so. You're body is not used to the low levels of caffeine you are getting. It'll take another week or so.
>> Anonymous
I haven't drank any pop/soda in 8 years (I'm 22 now), and it's been the best decision I ever made.

Shut the fuck up and quit crying. If you're that addicted to caffeine, drink some tea.

ah got my attention thats for sure..

but yeah, i remember when i stopped drinking soda i got fucking horrible headaches, but they eventually went away. try coke zero, aint half bad, every once in awhile ill drink it with dinner just to make sure my craving for the real shit dont come back

One can of cola contains like 7 times the amount of caffeine a glass of tea does. So yes, it could be because you suddenly don;t get that mutch caffeine in your system anymore. (I get headaches in the afternoon when I don't drink at least two cups of coffee in the moring).

??????? ??????? ???
shit i mean
fucking awesome pic!!!

Soda is disgusting, you will agree with me soon enough.

Also to me it seems unlikely that you would have gotten enough caffeine from soda to cause withdrawal headaches seeing how sodas contains relatively little caffeine... then again I say this as somebody who drinks 1/30th of his body weight in drip coffee per day.

I have not had any soda for a year and I am not looking for praise.

Since when did Soda taste good and water taste bad? Fuck, water doesn't taste like anything so it can't even taste bad. FIX YOUR GOD DAMN BRAIN!!!

Water certainly has a taste. The tap water at my apartment is noticeably inferior to that at my parents' or our summer place, yet better than bottled water. Temperature plays a large part but it is far from being the only variable.

caffeine content according to energyfiend
Tea (Brewed, Imported) 25 mg/100ml
Coca-Cola Classic 10 mg/100ml

for reference
Coffee (Drip) 61mg/100ml
Coffee (Espresso) 175 mg/ml (but few people drink this black in large quantities)

soda is weak shit, I have trouble believing you could get caffeine withdrawal from the miniscule amount you would get from having all your liquid intake in coca-cola form.

Everytime I've tried to give up soda, I get headaches. And yes, it's from caffine withdrawl. I quit cold turkey, had a headache for about 2-3 days, and then I was fine.

I take a 200 mg caffeine pill (equivalent to 2 cups coffee) 30 minutes before I have to wake up everyday. If I go without it I'm hardly functional. I doubt your headaches are really caffeine related unless your consuming at least 100 mg (a cup of coffee) a day.
>> Anonymous
Hello /fit/, my name is anon and i'm a soda addict.

I used to drink about 3 cans of cola a day, I was crazy addicted, but I kicked it about a year and a half ago.

I read a book called "the sugar addicts diet" and it had some interesting info in it about how the reward centers of the brain are triggered when you have sugar, similar to drug and alcohol addiction so the headaches are probably just withdrawal from sugar and caffeine. I found out the best way to deal with it is to go hit the gym extra hard, once you get your endorphins flowing it will take care of the head pain til bedtime..

medschoolfag here. Look up "rebound headaches" -- that is the medical term for headaches from over medicating. Caffeine falls into this category. Sounds dumb, but there is an actual class on headache types and what you have is a common one. Just look up "rebound headache" for more info

Tl;dr : you're going to have to fight through it. Not unusual, drink lots of water and try to get plenty of sleep. good luck.

medschoolfag -- it's very easy to get over 100mg, especially with the sodas being sold these days. Drink 2-3 of these in a day and you've got a LOT of caf.

I'd argue that a can of coke is bigger then a normal cup of coffee. Plus most people don't actually realize how much pop they drink a day. Large drinks at fast food restaurants, and free refills going out to eat is a killer.
>> Anonymous
Not sure how long the body takes to adjust but I'm guessing you have abnormally high insulin levels which were used to cope with all the sugar... and now that there's not as much to go around that insulin just soaks up the remaining stuff that your brain would actually appreciate keeping. Leading to it complaining about malnourishment in the form of headache. See link.

How the fuck does one get caffeine withdrawal headaches from 100 mg per day? My limit is around 1300 -> cold turkey before any such effect and it only lasts for one day.
>> Anonymous
>>458016

ATTENTION OP:

If you a really fucking horrible headache after not having sugars for a while your body is beginning to go through ketosis. It feels like someone's jabbing an icepick through your skull, but that's just your body reconfiguring after not getting its fill of carbohydrates.

If you don't want that to happen, keep up on eating fruits and pastas and shit, but it's okay if it does.

Of course, if you are eating pastas and stuff and still getting the headaches, you probably have a brain tumor. In which case, my condolences.
>> Anonymous
What sort of tea? Chai w/ two spoonfuls of brown sugar, or Hojicha, or what? That's going to have a huge effect on how much caffeine (and sugar) you're getting.

Anyway, my solution for caffeine headaches is to take a bit of caffeine (in, say, green tea form or something) and then immediately take a nap.

soda gives me headaches and makes me feel like shit.
it also tastes bad.

i don't know how anyone can drink it, or how it's so popular.
>> Anonymous
If it's caffeine withdrawal induced just drink coffee. Caffeine is good for you, soda is shit for other reasons.
>> Anonymous
>>460663

The reason so many people drink it is because they have different tastes to you.

Did you not realise that?
