This argument will just circle and circle, and you'll never come to an exact answer.
Personally, I believe the whole egg is fine. Some claim the cholesterol in eggs (specifically the yolks) is too much, especially if you'll be consuming 42 eggs per week like your two friends are. Ultimately, it's up to you and your opinion on whether the yolk contains too much of certain things. However, it DOES contain most of the proteins and other things in eggs that most people look for. Therefore, if you are worried about too much cholesterol, you should really eat your eggs on a ratio for every 3 eggs, have one of them be whole and then the other two just the whites. There really is a lot of the good stuff in the yolk, so it's important to consider.
