I heard that if you lose weight really fast you also gain weight really fast if you stop training for awhile. And if you lose weight slowly you will gain weight slowly if you don't train for awhile.

True or false?

depends on how you look at it. most people who lose weight really fast are the people who decided to lose weight but can't handle the lifestyle change- so they end up going back to the lazy fucks they are.

Not training will not make you gain weight, nor does training really make you lose weight.

It's almost all in the diet.

If you stop training AND eat a shitty diet, then yeah, you'll gain the weight back. If you stop training and have an even more restricted/perfect diet to make up for the lack of calories burned in training, you can continue to lose weight.
