something for the fatties to think about Anonymous
Its time for everyone's favorite thread!
TIME TO FUCKING LEARN /fit/ FUCKTARDS

from Alwyn Cosgrove's lecture @ the "Perform Better" series of Exercise Physiology seminars

it concerns fatties, like moast of you:

• "The stupidest thing you can do with a new client who's overweight is put them on a treadmill." It's been documented that overweight people trying to increase their aerobic health create an excessive joint and muscular overload when they try endurance exercise. This resulted in a 50-90% injury rate in the first 6 weeks of training.

but think of how many times /fit/ has recommended RUNNING or HIIT to this scenario

"hi fit, i'm new, and fat, what should i do?"
>> Anonymous
>>354022
suggesting HIIT is retarded. The obviously can't do that yet....
>> Anonymous
you can do HIIT on a stationary bike or eliptical. HIIT has to doing an activity where it raises your heart rate to around 80% of your max for an interval. If you're a fattie, walking for a minute then 'walking faster' would constitute as HIIT.

thank you, im a fatass and was going to try that hiit running thing tomorrow.
now i think i'll just walk

do what you have to do to get your heart-rate up. don't just go "BAWWW WALKING IS EASIER!"
>> Anonymous
Yeah I lost thirty pounds in three months by going to the gym and doing cardio on elliptical and bike for an hour, six days a week and dieting.

Now I run miles and miles and am doing a triathlon this Sunday. I don't know shit about HIIT or whatever, but use some common sense: the more effort you put into your workout, the more you'll get out of it.

If all you think about is fitness, maybe it is worth it to learn to science and maximize and optimizie, etc. But for just being healthy and fit in general - IT AIN'T HARD.
