I'm 6' 1" (~1.85 m) and I weigh 230 lbs (~104 kg). That puts me into the obese category. Given how much food I consume on a regular basis I should probably weigh at least 100 lbs more than I do. I mean I eat a fucking lot.

I don't eat a shit-ton of food all at once, but let's say I make some pasta or something. I will eat a normal portion of food but then an hour or so later I will be compelled to go over to the pot and eat some more. I know I'm not hungry. Any normal person should be satisfied with what I ate, but I just can't help stuffing my face whenever I get the chance. I don't know if I'm eating out of boredom or if I've got some kind of anxiety issues or something, but I really need to fucking stop.

I'm trying to get myself out of the habit and I've already dropped like five pounds this week, so I'm making some progress, but I wanted to know if there's any tips or advice you guys can give me to program myself to eat less. I've also implemented the stronglifts 5x5 program and I'm going to the gym between 3-4 times a week.

If it's your 1st week of trying, and you just started going to the gym, yet lost 5 pounds, theres somethin not adding up. Did you just take a really good shit, or sweat out that much weight....Not tryin to be rude either...

Probably inaccurate weighing technique. OP needs to weigh himself after waking up and taking a piss/dump in order to most effectively weigh.

OP also needs to lrn2nutrition. More protein will make you feel fuller.

Don't forget your SQUATZ and DEADLIFTZ. Always lift with INTENSITY.

I do SQUATZ every time I'm at the gym and I alternate between DEADLIFTZ and BENCHZ or OVERHEAD PRESSZ (they work the same muscle group, right?).

I usually weigh myself in the morning, but I don't always do it after shitting. Maybe it is just water weight I lost. Also, I will try to incorporate more protein into my diet. I read somewhere that fish oil supplements are good for losing weight, too. Is that true?

bmi is completely innacurate when your going to a gym, it doesnt take into account muscle, it only assumes fat, if it were an absolute thing, then most pro atheletes would be considered obese, as they tend to pac a lot of muscle

Stronglifts? Lost 15 on using it so far.
Common problem among obese is not being satisfied with a full meal. Resist/cut temptation (dont have leftovers to eat) focus on making several healthy meals, rather than repeating a fatty mistake over and over. First pounds are the easiest to lose.
