Squats are not the answer to everything. Walk and lift your toes a lot. Take big strides. Run. Use the calf lift machine.

Stand on the edge of a deck or a stair or anywhere there's a significant drop; lower your heels; raise your heels; repeat.

Also jump rope, and don't let your heels touch the ground.

Truth. I've got crazy leg muscles from riding. I don't train much on the bike, either - just ride really hard in the city on a track bike.

Train hard on a bike and your legs WILL benefit. As will your cardiovascular system. Possible side effects may include needing baggier pants and possibly shaving your legs.
