A very sharp carrot would be suitable for cutting. Also potato wedges can be used for gouging.

No sugar no bread. Limit fruits. Eat a shit ton of colorful vegetables (not potatoes).
I hear cinnamon is good for boosting insulin sensitivity.

If you're fat, the kind you eat.

If you're not fat, none.

1. Eat every 2-3 hours, no matter what. You should eat between 5-8 meals per day.

2. Eat complete (containing all the essential amino acids), lean protein with each meal.

3. Eat fruits and/or vegetables with each food meal.

4. Ensure that your carbohydrate intake comes from fruits and vegetables. Exception: workout and post-workout drinks and meals.

5. Ensure that 25-35% of your energy intake comes from fat, with your fat intake split equally between saturates (e.g. animal fat), monounsaturates (e.g., olive oil), and polyunsaturates (e.g. flax oil, salmon oil).

6. Drink only non-calorie containing beverages, the best choices being water and green tea.

7. Eat mostly whole foods (except workout and post-workout drinks).

what are you currently eating? what are you currently doing in the gym?

currently I do strength training 3 times a week, run an hour 3 times a week and swim 2 hrs once a week.

i seem to be stuck at 198 lbs though, I look fit/thin but I want to cut a bit more BF%.

I think im at the point where I have to really make strict rules, I eat most veggies, fruits, dairy, protein, protein supplements like beans and nuts and barely any carbs. (wholewheat/flax toast and maybe some bran cereal for breakfast and MAYBE some brown rice or couscous at dinner some nights).

any suggestions? My body is really pushed to its limits so I need the energy intake or I feel drained but I guess I have to make sacrifice somewhere to get the cutting done.

maybe up your protein intake, are you at 1g/lb of bodyweight?

also, make sure you get your good fats outlined here>>337210.

i've heard good stuff about carb cycling to get rid of the last few pounds, never done it myself though.

Sounds like you've checked out Precision Nutrition. It's a good system.

it really is. so many people get caught up in this or that minute detail and overlook the main things. i try to live by that even when i have to have an on-the-fly meal out or something (when it's easy to get off track) and it has helped tons.

not OP here, just a guy who's current lifestyle is un/fit/ for living.

this looks pretty solid.

ive got a few newb questions though. "cutting" refers to the process of trimming off excess body fat right? and i assume combining that with excercise (depending on the intensity of the excercise) will make you "cut and bulk" or just "cut and maintain".

do i have this terminology down?

actually your diet + the exercise would result in either cut (losing fat) OR bulk (putting weight on) OR maintaining (staying the same)

#5 seems a bit hard. Does anyone provide recipes following this advice?

the good thing about fats is that you can most likely just add it to what you're already eating. it's very simple to add some coconut oil, olive oil, etc to a shake, salad, or whatever. so, you probably dont need recipes specifically for that. just look at how much fat you're eating right now and what kinds, then add where you think you need to.
