so..i started doing cardio alot more to get abs for the summer. i do cardio about 4 days a week now along side reg weight training. should i eliminate carbs from my diet along side this... like go on an all protein and veggies diet. what u think
>> Anonymous
Depends on what other exercising you're doing but overall it wouldn't hurt to cut back on starches and breads when you can.
>> Anonymous
another question, how often and how intense does an anon need to get visible (doesnt have to be anything big, just visible) abs?
>> Anonymous

Intense enough to lose the fat around your stomach, so as to make the abs show.
>> Anonymous
you need 10-12% body fat maximum for visible abs. Whatever that takes depends on your body, diet, metabolism etc.

How about eating more starches and bread but cut down on meat. Will that have the same effect?

>>96199

You can get abs simply by starving yourself. It's already there but it's covered by your body fat. Spent an hour doing mild exercises like crunches and holding your feet up for as long you can everyday and you'll see results within a month.

correcton, holding your feet in front of you while lying on the floor. Try lifting your feet a few inches high in the air and move them up and down.

>You can get abs simply by starving yourself.

stop giving shitty advice. Starving yourself will just cause you to lose all your muscle and slow down your metabolism, and then you'll be in a worse position than before when you eat regularly again.

Starches don't generally don't contribute to repairing muscle like protein. Absolutely NOT is the answer.

Also, you can't really get abs starving yourself. Your body will eat what little muscle you have to survive and you will just look like a puss because you didn't have that much muscle to begin with. Wtg Africa Kid.

does being an endomorph count as "not having fat"? unlike most anons, i am an endomorph, so shouldnt i focus on making them bigger,as i dont even have too much fat to burn in the first place?
>> Anonymous
The starving was just a hypotheatical situation. Of course when you have little body fat what's left of your muscles will show. And yes, I agree it is an unhealthy method.

>should i eliminate carbs from my diet along side this

Never eliminate necessary nutrients, cut back yeah, eliminate good luck and no.

why is it called a 6pack when there's at least 8 of them?
>> Anonymous
>>96360
It's much easier to have 6 visible than all 8. I have 6 quite defined, but the bottom two are still in progress. It's also genetics. Some people will always have a six pack, even though if they had different genetics they may have 8.

The rule of thumb is that under 10% bf(or is it 8%?), and your abs should be visible, provided you have relatively strong abdominal muscles.
For weight loss, you can do a 40/40/20 split (40% carbs, 40% protein, 20% fat), or ketogenics. I don't know much about keto, but it involves using fat stores as energy, so you'll be eating no carbs, but plenty of fat.

btw, i do ab workouts around once (somestimes twice) a week with a 10 pound weight for roughly an hour (around 1-2 mins breaks in between). I usually go for 30-50 reps. is it enoguh to get defined abs?
>> deleted
yea this will get you a six pack for sure but u hav to remember like u said all protein and when u do eat carbs hav them in vegetables in fruits over grain + when your eating your fruits and vegetables have them in the morning because your less likely to burn them off later in the day. also this is only good for getting cut not so much building musce keep that in mind, good luck!

for protein and its 1g = 1 lb...

is it for the weight you WANT, or the weight you are right now.

say if my goal is 175 lbs, but i am currently 150, should i take in 175g of proten? or should i avoid ODing on protein and go for 150g?

or maybe go in the in between mark of say 160?

What excercises can hypertrophy the abs?
I know they're the hardest muscle to grow, but I want bigger abs. I already have a fairly low BF (not sure what but it's low) but my abs are not very defined as they are that small and weak. I want to improve strength as well as endurance, I do crunches and shit already to build up my endurance but how do I get bigger abs?

if you're bulking take 1-2x your bodyweight in protein, in grams

Rectus? Damn near killed us.

thats a stupid ass rule, even if you do your bodyweight most of it wont be absorbed, besides growing muscles requires more carbs and fat then protein
