Alright /fit/, after seeing that a board like this is now open, as well as all the inspirational posts contained within, I've decided I actually want to try.

I've been overweight for most of my life. Currently I'm 19, 6'2 and 350lbs, although I don't think I look it. Normally I wouldn't care so much because my bloodwork checks out perfectly. Them I was diagnosed with high blood pressure at 18. This really hit it home for me. Now losing weight is a pretty big thing I need to do, but I just don't seem to get it through to me about how important this really is.

As for exercise, I play DDR/ITG/Whatever whenever I can, and I'm fairly good, which offers an excellent cardio workout. I also walk almost everywhere. The problem is I don't eat right. With the amount of cardio from DDR I get I could be losing a lot of fat, but I just don't eat right.

I could go to a gym, in fact I have free access to one at my university. But there's this notion that you get looked down upon if you aren't a Greek God and/or incredibly well built. In short, I'm ashamed of doing workouts is public areas.

So I come to you, /fit/, for help. This is probably the first time I've been completely serious about this, and I need some guidance, tips, anything you can offer. It would be much appreciated.

Pic related, it's me.

Refer to my general workout post, which is floating somewhere here.

Basically, 1 hour cardio followed by 1 hour light lifting with multiple reps. Cut all junk food and HFCS out of your diet, replace with steaks.

Here, I'll dredge my topic link in a sec.

Use the "food grading" system. When you pick up a piece of food, ask yourself...how much was this processed before it got into my hand? So...stick with veggies, fruits, whole wheat breads, fat free milk, lean meat (chicken breasts), fish.

I could tell you EXACTLY what to eat and when to eat it -- which is probably what you'll end up needing (God knows I did) -- but I'll keep my peace for now.

It may feel like people are judging you at the gym, but really, the muscleheads are too into themselves and their workouts to care.

believe me, people will have more respect for you if you show up and do cardio 5 days a week than if you just show up one time and never come back.

you're not at the gym trying to meet chicks either, so who gives a fuck if anyone is judging you? they're not going to say anything.

Oops, meant to add that the diet fix alone will almost certainly make you drop weight quickly for quite a while. At some point you'll have to add in exercise, so you should probably do that as well from the get-go.

I used to be self-conscious at the gym. No matter how much logic you throw at it you can't really stop it, which is why I recommend just jogging outside and lifting with personal free weights until you're confident enough to go to the gym.

I've got a lot of that down pat, been drinking skim milk for a good portion of my life, I like most veggies, just don't get enough of them, and I've moved to healthier breads and such. Although I'm not quite the sandwhich guy lol.

I don't really have money to spend on a set of personal weights, so that's a little bit of an issue. I can do the jogging thing though.

youve gotta start somewhere. dont let being self conscious stop you from anything, its totally worth it in the end.

i first walked into the gym a year ago. skinny as shit, could barely bench the bar, couldnt curl the bar, and had a hard time lifting 20 lbs. that and the fact that i'm probably one of the youngest people at my gym (most are mid 20s, i'm still a teen)

seriously, its completely worth it. if you do it long enough you'll feel great

About 20 minutes of DDR on the higher difficulties should actually give you the amount of cardio you need a day, so you're set. Also, since you're a bit self conscious about going to the gym there's a few exercises you can do at home to get your muscles working, push ups and pull ups are a good example.

Try to eat 6 small meals a day in order to keep your metabolism going, eliminate soda and drink water instead, and cut out white breads, pastas, rice etc.

This is coming from someone who lost weight from the help of 7chan's /fit/. Stay focused and set realistic goals. You can do it motherfucker.

>> Alex
>>5364
I play on Heavy 7-9s exclusively for a lot longer than that, so I'm good in that department. Doing it daily is also easily doable.
As far as push ups are concerned, I can't exactly do them... but I know about those other pushups that have your knees on the ground supporting you instead of just your feet. How effective are those?
>> Anonymous
>>5401

If you can do at least 6 reps before "failure," then they're good for you.

As for cardio, 30 minutes MINIMUM. I've heard 60 minutes max (diminishing returns beyond that point), so I just do 45 minutes.
>> Hammerknife !7ITukp3Pj2
>>5401

Knee girly pushups are fine if you're overweight. The intent is to burn the appropriate muscles, and if you're heavy you'll probably get the same workout.
>> Alex
>>5439
That's good. Then I can just work my way up to a real pushup.
>> Anonymous
>>5430
What I hear is that you must maintain elevated heart rate for at least 20 minutes.

As far as 60 min max, that's more to do with the level of strain. It also depends on what you're doing. As a distance runner, I run for longer than 60 minutes almost four times a week.

The length of time is only important to compensate for intensity. For fat burning longer is better. I wouldn't recommend going for too long at once though.

If you're going to use DDR as a training method you have to make sure not to take long breaks between songs. I used DDR to help develop my lower abdominal muscles by doing 3 hour sessions on Standard/Heavy depending on the song. Worked well, but I always started the next song within 10 to 20 seconds.

No one should look down at you for going to the gym. If you're actually trying to get fit then they should be giving you props for doing so. Personally, I've grown tired of the DDR IS GREAT EXERCISE LULZ but hey, physical activity is physical activity.

I don't really have any tips but good luck, Anon. Just remember to stick to your program and make yourself do some real exercise.
>> Alex
>>5538
Of course it's not enough. I don't do it exclusively as my only exercise. I do a lot of walking, but not for the purpose of getting active. I will gladly try out some different exercise methods, which is why I come writing to /fit/.

Send an inspirational story to The Biggest Loser and hope to get accepted.

I wouldn't do too much weight lifting at all right now. Work on cardio.

Create a new, good diet. With your weight, I suggest something extreme. Or you try the Subway diet. It worked for Jared, it could work for you!

Also, drop sugar soft drinks. If you must, drink diet coke or coke zero. water is always the best, though.

Wow, some of these people aren't getting the idea at all.

I would say it starts with your mind. Write down your goals, it will give you something to shoot for. No one can hit a target when they don't know it's there, right?

Get your mind right, your body will follow.
>> yt
>>Also, drop sugar soft drinks. If you must, drink diet coke or coke zero. water is always the best, though.

I really agree with this, and it is quite simple. Alex, if you are a soft drink fan, they have to go. Diet drinks are fine, but drink water whenever you crave something.

I suggest daily cardio (20-30mins at a high rate) followed by high repetition weight workout. If you cant afford a set of free weights, go by an exercise "stretch cord". They are fairly cheap, and you can get in a lot of high rep. upper/mid body exercises out of it.

I lost 90 lbs (280-190) in about 8 months simply by cutting crap from my diet and doing exercise whenever I could. You can do it NP if you set your mind to it.
>> Alex
>>5649
Inspirational post. For serious, you actually motivated me that much more.

>>5657
Yeah, soft drinks are usually only a problem at school because it's so readily available. I've been thinking of bringing a water bottle (one of those 1 litre ones) and refilling it at water fountains when need be. Just gotta be consistant.
>> Anonymous
Don't listen to the people who tell you to take extreme measures. You will start out fine, and then give it up, gaining more weight than you lost.
Start slowly. For example, if you eat fast food often, start getting a small instead of a medium or large. When you get a drink, try to replace every other soda with water. Get used to a slightly healthier routine, and then take another step.
Walking is good too. Again, start small, maybe a mile walk every other day, then move it up a notch.
>> Smily
Even if you do a lot of DDR, it won't help a whole lot unless you change your eating habits, I know from personal experience.

I said this in a different thread, but eating a lot less will not help you metabolize food any quicker. The important thing is eating correctly. My first suggestion for you is to take small steps. The important thing isn't losing 10 pounds in a week, the important thing is consistent weight loss, around 1-3 pounds a week. It may have been different for me, womens' nutritional needs are a bit different than men's but I've done a lot of research on the subject of weight loss and it has paid off for me. I was close to 160 pounds, and now I'm at 130. Anyway, I digress.

First thing I suggest to help you out with is to start small. A great first step is to replace certain foods, or cut out certain things that hinder your progress(not completely, just mostly). For instance, if you drink a lot of soda, stop it! I know people who have lost weight just from cutting out soda and drinking more water. Little steps will help the big picture in a big way. Another good eating habit is to check nutrition labels for foods and only eat the serving size. Case in point, a bag of chips may look small, but perhaps the serving size is half that.

Not to say you have to eat super healthily, but just be aware of what you are consuming. I betcha if you compile a list of just what you eat and how much you have eaten on a daily basis, you'll be suprised with just how much that is.

Also, since you're a guy, you'll probably want to bulk up a bit, so eat a lot of protein and start doing those push-ups!

Good Luck.

I lost 50 pounds doing weight watchers for a few months, it's really effective if you don't fudge points and do an somewhat intense cardio workout at least 2 times a week, optimally 3.

fucking hell. all these wanna-be gym-fags trying to hand out advice. don't listen to any of them.

I recommend you subscribe (or at least buy) Joe Weiders' Muscle & Fitness magazine and read it through. you might not want to get big and bulky but it practically outlines how to achieve the body you want.

Also, if you're looking to get toned, eat correctly. It's that simple. There are people who suffer worse fates han yourself my friend. If coke and heroin addicts can give up on their addictions why the fuck can't you put down that coke and those fries? (Potatoes are good for you though!)
I would suggest planning your meals and then budgeting for them. Go to the supermarket, shop for one week, then save that amount each week for food and put the rest in a savings account that can only be touched once within how ever many months until you're finished. that way you save money, and you don't spend any extra money on fast foods or take-aways.

When you drop the pounds a little, i suggest looking like a greek-god. This is simple. Go to www.rossboxing.com and READ about what HE says. HE gives very sound advice and he has also written a couple books on how to work out AT HOME so you don't need to pay for an expensive gym membership (not a worry in your case) and you don't have to worry about being laughed at.

Here's a motivational pic for you dude, i posted it earlier this morning.

To be honest, I don't actually eat that much. But when I do it's never anything nutritional. Which is the worst combination.

Kudos to you for deciding to change yourself, I'll be rooting for you, Alex. I started my own routine May 2007, age 21, 6'1 and 310lb. My last weigh in was friday, 205lb. I aim to drop to 190, then lower my cardio and focus on building some muscle until around the end of summer. When I started I couldn't run at all, if I tried to jog my knees would feel like they were about to give out. I started off by walking an hour for five days a week. As for my eating habits, I mostly kept eating the same things but I started strictly counting the calories and never went over 2600 a day. After about two months I had to switch to healthier food, because in order to stick to my diet I could only eat one fast food combo meal a day, with barely enough calories left over for a slice of bread and maybe a glass of OJ. After two weeks, if you stick to your cardio and diet regimen you'll really see the pounds fly off, I think my personal best in one week was eleven fucking pounds in one week. If you can keep it up for two months, the habit kicks in and it doesn't feel like an effort at all. I can totally sympathize with your gym-shyness, until around December I couldn't even bring myself to jog during daylight, while people could see me. I jogged at a local high school track at one in the morning to avoid unwanted attention. This, I think, was a mistake because you'll meet some really awesome, supportive people at the gym. I highly suggest giving your local University gym a shot, maybe around five or six AM, right when they open, if you must. In summary, eat what you want, just strictly count calories and stick to an intake of around 2400-2600 a day, and don't eat four hours before you sleep, try to squeeze in a solid hour of cardio three to five times a week. If you have any questions feel free to ask, our situations were pretty much identical heh.

There's an e-book called "Burn the fat feed the muscle." If you can't find a link to it here, nor can anyone provide, there'a a link to it in the FAQ for 7chan's board. I just started reading it a bit today, and it seems ok thus far.

The biggest thing to do is to set realistic goals firstly.

I know DDR is a fairly ok workout (I used to do it a while back, haven't done it in ages now...), but make sure you don't do songs that leave you gasping for air (Example based on assumption, Can't stop falling in love speedy mix OR Burning heat on heavy.). The point of working out is to make you breathe heavy, but not be 100% winded.

Workouts in public places... I can understand... I'd say try to get a group of friends to go along with you to the place. That should help with the self conciousness thing. and if not, I'd say improvise. Bike around for long distances, take stairs when avaiable... You may not think it, but that does help a bit.

The high blood pressure thing means you need to lower your cholesterol, if I'm not mistaken. I can't help you with that, and talking to your doctor about it would be the best thing to do...

I hope this helps, from one fat guy to another. Good luck man!
>> Anonymous
>>5710
That's your problem. You actually want to eat about 6 meals a day instead of the generic 3, and they should be stuff like whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. This supercharges your metabolism because your body will stop thinking that it's not getting much food, so it will stop holding on to every calorie.
>> Alex

Getting to the Uni gym at 6AM isn't really an option, as it takes about an hour just to bus there, and there's no way I'm waking up at 4:30. But I'm sure I can squeeze in some sessions between classes, I have some long breaks. A few of my Uni buds already go to the gym, maybe I'll talk about options with them. And thanks for the motivation, it means a lot.
>> Alex
>>5737
Nah, my high blood pressure is just that: high blood pressure. My cholesterol is perfect, everything about my bloodwork is perfect. I just have high blood pressure, which I'm currently on meds for. This is also a motivator for me, because the last thing I want is to be on meds for something I can control.
>> Anonymous
I was going to suggest you find a sport that you actually really like and go for it (I suddenly became fit and thin after finding that I liked fencing and working hard to get to national level), but that would cost money and you already have DDR for that. Like someone already said, don't take breaks between songs, and I would suggest buying/MacGyvering some angle weights to make it more difficult for you.

You're already in the habit of walking places, which is good, but if you don't mind smelling like shit wherever you're going, jog whenever possible. If you find distances that are too long to walk, then ride a bike if you have one. My own weight took a bit of a hike up when I got my licence, proving to me that riding my bike everywhere really did contribute.

I think that initially you should worry less about the weight and more about the fitness, but for removing the fat your best bet is to replace drinks with diet alternatives, do some crunches after a DDR session, committing yourself to buying less junk foods (it's hard, I know), and just otherwise balancing your diet a little. The five food groups are useful. Try to stick to them.

I could never stick to going to gym, but if you can, then just ignore the motherfuckers there. I know it can be hard, but think of it this way; why do you care what those conceited bastards think anyway? If they're greek gods, then clearly they don't have anything better to do any probably aren't worth associating with. People will learn to respect you if you keep up with a gym program, because it means you have willpower. If they can't see that, they're arseholes and not worth caring about.

>>5744

If you have friends that can keep you accountable, that's fucking awesome and you should definitely utilize that. The absolute hardest part of my routine was definitely the first two and a half months, I would feel like shit every day. After I got used to it I wouldn't even think about jumping in the car and driving to the track, it was like clockwork; brushing my teeth in the morning and before I went to sleep at night. Around the end of summer and most of fall it got kind of depressing though; running around a 400 meter loop, pitch black in the middle of buttfuck nowhere with only my own thoughts to keep me company. Even though I didn't really make friends at the gym until late December, just the ambience of people moving and chatting near me lifted my spirits a lot. If you can, giving us a rundown of your typical daily meal plan could help, yesterday would be good.

I lost 77 pounds like 6 years ago just by cutting down on fats, all kinds of fats since I didn't take healthy fats into account back then. Basically I set a limit of a maximum of 45 to 55 gr. of fats per day, and a minimum of 25-30grs. Just make sure to look at the nutritional facts for everything you eat, THE INFO IS RIGHT THERE STOP SHOUTING.

The good thing is you can eat mostly everything as long as you don't pass that limit of 55 something gr. of fat per day, things like fruits, vegetables, popcorn, gummies, some nuts, etc. are fine. There's a book about this, which I can't fucking remember the name right now, but that's where I got this "limit of grams of fat per day" thing.

Shit's been good so far, I went to a nutriologist recently and everything's fine: low cholesterol, and no health problems. Haven't had a major rebound either in those 6 years. Only excersise I did back then was about an hour of DDR on hard, and some weights.

That's great! You don't have to worry about some random asshat stealing your food, just your family lol. We'll start with breakfast; motherfucking oatmeal. This shit is ridiculously light and easy to cook; three-quarters of a cup of quick-cooking rolled oats boiled in water is around 100 to 130 calories. The downside is that it tastes like old socks. Throw a cup and a half of quick-cook rolled oats(avoid the instant stuff) into a small pot, add three cups of water, bring to a boil and wait 5 minutes, turn off stove and throw the mixture into a bowl and dig in. To get used to the texture, you can mix in some honey or unsweetened applesauce right before you finish cooking it. Eat it with some good seasonal fruit(apples, bananas, oranges, peaches, strawberries, un-peeled sliced kiwifruit), switch it up to keep your tastebuds guessing, and a big glass of OJ or milk, your choice. You'll be looking at about 500 calories for a pretty filling meal including the drink. Speed scrub the oatmeal pot right after your breakfast and leave it to dry on a towel. I'm going to warn you, oatmeal isn't that tasty, but if you keep it up for a month or so the habit will kick in and you won't even notice the taste. Bring some carrot sticks or celery in a bag with you to school to munch on. For lunch you can stick to what you normally eat as your reward for putting up with oatmeal in the mornings. Some /fit/masters will disagree with me, but this will make it easier for you to adapt to a healthier diet for the first few months. You'll have a little over 1000 calories to burn on lunch, so enjoy it! When you get home if you get a prepared dinner, you can eat that but try to stick to something between a half and full portion. Avoid all drinks except water during the daytime! Unless you eat something ridiculous like whole chicken wrapped in bacon for dinner, it should be very easy to stick to a 2400 calorie diet this way.

Hey OP,
I lost 50lb in a semester, and I'll tell you how I did it. First of all, go to the gym 5 times a week. Begin by using the wieght machines, then get 30 minutes of cardio before you leave. Fuck the judgemental people, you have a right to be there. What I did was I brought an mp3 player and didn't even acknowledge the presence of the other people there.

I has some very simple rules for eating: No starches after breakfast, so if you like bread, eat a bagel when you wake up. Eat a sensible lunch. For dinner, every night I made a giant salad with deli meats and hard-boiled eggs on it. Use fat-free salad dressing. Eat this meal about 4 hours before bed. Between dinner and bed, do not eat or drink anything but water. Also, try to save the drinking for the weekend.
>> Alex
>>6198
Sounds sensible. Although I don't necessarily have time in the morning to wait for water to boil to eat my oatmeal when I have to get to an 8:30 class. Cereal works well too I guess, as long as it's not too high in sugar. Great advice though!
>> Anonymous
>>6213

If you're really strapped for time certain cereals will do in a pinch. I highly suggest waking up 30 minutes earlier to prepare oatmeal, though. The stuff is ridiculously high in fiber, which is awesome for weight-loss. The basic idea is that fiber is harder for your stomach to break down into usable energy, which means each calorie from fiber heavy foods is equal to half that of a fiber-less calorie, more or less. After four or five months when you're really into the groove, you can try some of the more difficult approaches; six small meals a day, preparing all of your meals yourself to strictly monitor everything about your diet, isolating and cutting out the bad fats(saturated and trans) while leaving the food(poly and monosaturated fats). The idea is to ease into a healthy diet, so you stick with it for the long haul.

With a 1 hour commute to school, that would mean waking up at 6AM. Doesn't seem too worth it for oatmeal, especially when there's high fibre cereals. My dad buys them by the truckload, maybe I'll give it a try.

Alright, it's about 2AM where I am right now, so I'm heading off to bed. Just want to thank all of you for your advice and tips. They definitely will not go to waste. Goodnight.

Happens to me too. My uni has tennis, gym, pool, football and hockey classes if you sign up for it. Tho mine cost 16$ a year.

Anyway, people might have already tell you this.. first of all... start drinking water. 2 ls as minimum, and when i say water i mean water. Not, coffee, no tea, no soda... specially not soda!.

Second, don't go on an anorexic type of diet. Instead change what you eat. Because if you suddenly stop eating, then your body think its because you are a refugee and not because you are on diet. And if that happens, anything you eat during that time and immediately after, is stored as fat faster. Meaning that when you finish that kind of diet, you might have loss some weight but you will regain not long after and probably gain more. So change the way you eat and what you eat, dont suddenly stop eating.

Third, do exercise. But start slowly. If you think you cant do more than 11min, then dont do it. First week do 10min, and then add 5 min each week till you think you'll be able to do 1hour. Also start doing it only 2 or 3 days a week. Then if you want more, you can do it all week. By the way, if you do workout all week then one day do hard workout, and the next day something easier, and after that, a hard workout again. That way you let our body rest.

Finally DRINK WATER! DRINK WATER! DRINK WATER! DRINK WATER! DRINK WATER! DRINK WATER! DRINK WATER! DRINK WATER! DRINK WATER! DRINK WATER!

>As for exercise, I play DDR/ITG/Whatever whenever I can, and I'm fairly good, which offers an excellent cardio workout.
I lol'd.

DDR isn't a work out.

>But there's this notion that you get looked down upon if you aren't a Greek God and/or incredibly well built.
You know, I went from lean to fat to fit. I never had a problem going to the gym except for when I was fat - that's when I was self-conscious, embarrassed, and performed the least.

Frankly, nobody gives a fuck that you're there. Everybody is working hard on their own fitness. Seriously, if you aren't fuckable, then they're paying even less attention to you.

there have been countless people who have lost weight through DDR. granted, most were obese fucks to begin with and any physical activity that made them sweat was gonna make them lose weight anyways.

Don't start running until you lose at least 60 lbs. It will fuck up your knees soooo bad.

this.

also, most dedicated gym rats check their ego at the door anyways so you should start doing that as well. develop tunnel vision. go in there concentrated on what you need to get done and get out. don't pay attention to anyone else.

>>I could go to a gym, in fact I have free access to one at my university. But there's this notion that you get looked down upon if you aren't a Greek God and/or incredibly well built. In short, I'm ashamed of doing workouts is public areas.

That's bullshit. Everyone that walks through the gym door leaves their ego behind. You're there to work for your own health and fitness, not to show anyone up and neither are they.

Listen up fat boy, nobody gives a fuck about how overweight you are, we're all too busy concentrating on how we look.

tldr: lose your vanity in hope of achieving justifable narcissim or remain content with being a fat bastard.

Ok so maybe too afraid to go to the gym I can understand, but at least eat right. If you really want to start losing weight eat right, because it involves little effort and you don't have to be self conscious about it. Also, GO to the gym and do cardio/workout. Here is some motivation, NO ONE enjoys being fat, and they are often looked down upon. Think about how much better and more confident you will feel about yourself in the long run. JUST DO IT.

I know that awkward feeling about going to a Gym and working out in public. But honestly, give it a try for a week or so and you'll realise something:

Nobody is looking at you.
Nobody fucking cares that you're there.

People in the gym are doing their own thing. If anything, you don't know that the "jacked" guy lifting next to you didn't look just like you only a year ago, you know? Everyone has to start somewhere, and the people working out in the gym who are in great shape didn't always look like that. They were all scrawny/fat/generally unfit at one point or another.

People in your position who consistently go to a gym and show that they're trying will actually gain alot of respect from the other regulars that are there.

Trust me, give it a shot :)

*****HERE'S THE KEY*****

Losing weight is all math. There is no magic formula, there is no magical key, no pill, no easy solution.

It's all math:

If you eat 3,000 calories and burn 2,000 calories over the course of a day, you will gain 1,000 calories. Multiply this by 7, and you've gained 7,000 calories. (or 2 pounds.)

You need to burn 3500 calories to lose 1 pound.

Now OP, this will not be easy, this will not be quick, and this will not be painless...

However, if you can stick it out, endure the pain, and push yourself to the limit, than I DO believe you will lose the weight.

I am 6'2" 230 lbs... I used to be 6'2" 300 lbs.

I stuck with it. I'm still a little overweight, but if I suck it in right, chicks hit on me.

Chicks didn't hit on me before.

You can do it. It's all about how much you want it, and how much you're willing to sacrifice for it.

Just walk a mile every other day for a year and you'll probably lose a shit ton of weight. Malls are open every day of the week so you have no excuse when the weather is bad.

You weigh 350lbs. Roughly, your daily caloric intake to maintain that weight would be about 5250 calories.

To start, you could begin counting calories and watching what you eat. Try shooting for eating 3800 calories a day to start, which is still a hefty amount.

Try to get it from lean meats like chicken and tuna and healthy carbs like whole grains and healthy fats like olive oil. You should be eating 5 times a day roughly every three hours, trying to make each meal about 50% LEAN protien, 35% HEALTHY carbs, and 15% HEALTHY fats. Lets divide the 3800 cals/day into 5 meals. That'd be about 760 calories a meal. That's a lot, when coming from healthy foods, OP.

A good 760 calorie meal could be literally a POUND of cooked 99% fat free chicken breast, 1/4 pound of asaragus cooked in 1/4 tsp of Olive oil, and a half cup of cooked brown rice. That's almost a fucking pound and a half of food per meal. That should keep you satisfied.

Somewhat OCD at first, it seems, but after a week or two you seriously just do it without even thinking. You eventually begin to make mental notes of the caloric content and macronutrient breakdown of the food you eat most often.
