hey /fit/

is there a (safe) way of squatting without a rack? i don't wanna buy one as they 're expensive

do i basically have to join a gym?

I've truly started to realise how poor my gym is.

My gym has no squat rack and no smith machine.
Also note, I have no training partner.

Thus, if I want to squat in the conventional way, I have to take the only barbell in my gym (which is often occupied for bench press), power clean or snatch or whatever it is to the overhead position, then bring it to rest on my traps, and then squat. Then do the same to return it to the floor

I think you're actually just paying some guy to let you stand in his basement and pretend to work out.

relevant to my interests...

what are jump squats?

If you can power clean what you squat, you're either doing it wrong or recovering from 12 months in a wheel chair.

front squats, dumb-arse... perfectly safe without a power rack... only problem is racking the weight on your shoulders... if you have weak cleans, you won't be able to get much up
