I'm seeing "six meals a day" mentioned a lot.

Could someone please provide me examples of what is eaten over the course of a day. I'm primarily interested in the diet of one who is aiming to build strength/endurance.

If you are asking for us to tell you what to eat, we can't, because we don't know what type of metabolism you have, how large you are, or what type of goals you have. If you care about slight fat gain or not, things like that.

If you are asking what type of foods, we really can't tell you that either. Are you looking at keeping your diet as clean as possible, or are you dirty bulking? Are you even bulking at all?

The whole six meals a day thing is simply used because it keeps your metabolism at such a high rate, which is always a good thing, everyone eats different things.

These are two "Men's Health" diets that are based around the whole "Eating six meals a day" thing:

OP here.

I'd like to keep the diet as clean as possible. If bulking does happen, If I do gain mass, I'd like it to be as lean as possible.

I'm 6'1, 190lb. I'm not really after a specific tailored diet, maybe just an example or two to put me in the right direction.

1. breakfast. whole bread, OJ, cottage cheese, fruit.
2. half morning. tuna, pinneapple, rice cookies
3. pasta+meat / rice+meat / vegetables+meat
4. whites ommelete + baked potato
5. salad + grilled fish/meat
6. bigass glass of skim milk

That's a good example for you OP, except the cottage cheese in the morning.

Cottage cheese is slow-absorbing, you want whey protein or eggs in the morning, since your body has been starving all night and needs protein quickly.

OP is grateful.

are you serious? OP is a total idiot.

if you want to lose weight its very simple.
amount burned(in exercise) must be > than amount taken in (eating).

fucking simple if you ask me :O

That actually doesn't make sense, since what you are a basically saying is you would have to burn more calories by exercising than what you intake.

Which is fucking stupid, since you need calories to live. If you burned more calories than you ate in a day, you would suffer medical problems, and/or die. Obviously you don't actually mean that, but that's what you said, which makes you the idiot for being unable to properly explain something so simple.

What you actually mean is that you would over the course of a period create a caloric deficit, which can be achieved simply through diet, and without even needing to exercise.

About how much food is required at each of these meals? Is there a certain number of calories that the body would need before it could have an effect on me?
