Hi there /fit/,

I heard that if you are going to do cardio, with the goal of fat-loss in mind, you should do it before you eat breakfast in the morning: that way, your body has no choice but to burn its fat stores, rather than whatever food you're eating. Is this true, or bullshit?

I mean you're burning calories one way or another. If you are at a deficit, you're going to burn the deficit in fat no matter what, amiright?

And you get the added benefit of blacking out because of low blood sugar. If you are the grand prize winner maybe you will have diabetes some day!

This is true. Carbohydrates (especially when protein is added) spike your insulin levels, which tell your body to burn carbs instead of fat as the primary energy source during exercise. In this respect, carbs suck. But you can't rule them out entirely because carbs are what keep your metabolism trucking along throughout the day, after all.
