Got a question for /fit/

If my school is only 1km away, is it still worth biking instead of walking? I try to bike as fast as I can, and it DOES get my heart rate up, so I suppose it's better than walking...

Holy shit 1km?
I bicycle over 6 miles, any less and it's pretty boring.

If the OP lives 1*km* away from school, why the fuck would you assume he's American?

Dude just shut the fuck up. Most Americans use 1km.

hate to break it to you but a kilometer is a measure of distance. a length of something can exist in any country.

wtf? when i was in school i commuted, and the distance from my car to my first class would easily be 1km.

No Americans say 1km. Hell, I've never even heard a Canadian say 1km in Canada.
"Hey buddy, is there a gas station around here?"
"Yep, about 3mi straight ahead."
Of course you're more likely to get directions based on how many Tim Horton's you pass in the Windsor area.

OP here, fuck most of you. I go for 8-9km bike rides every day. This was just a simple question.
>> moose
Forget walking, running, or cycling. You should just get your parents to drop you off.
>> Anonymous
if you sprint the 1km, it could have some positive effect.

never heard of frogmen, but lunges would be pretty good.

Never been to Quebec, only Ontario since I live on the border. Know for a fact that they hardly never use metric in daily conversation.
>> Anonymous
Seriously, whatever units someone uses is a shitty indication of where they live.
I switch between km and miles daily, it depends on the context.

I agree but if you can't HIIT it (but if you do 8-9km a day on a bike you should be able to imo)
