/fit/,

How much hair is normally lost a day? I've grown my hair out in the past year, to shoulder length. When washing it and combing it in the morning, I lose a decent clump of hair. I've never had a problem with losing hair. Is this normal with longer hair? Am I going prematurely bald?

Guy. From the looks of my family, both sides, I don't expect to keep most of it in the long run. By long run I mean over the hill. I'm 19.

Well, did your relatives lose their hair at your age? The longer the hair, the more weight so that might be affecting it

Enjoy being a bald freak. I'm going gray so I"m cool.

I don't have any relatives anywhere that have had premature balding.

Buzz your hair. Seriously, don't have it that long. Jesus.

I think I remember reading on average you lose 50 hairs a day. If it's coming out in huge clumps though that's not good.

Just cut it short or shave it. Long hair + balding head looks fucking ridiculous. Be thankful you live in an era where shaved heads are considered fashionable.

Same thing happened to me. I noticed more long hair coming out everytime I washed my hair. It's not normal. I could ruin my hands through my hair each time and get a hair or two.

Because after it finished thinning to a point it looked bad, i could wash with maybe 1 or two hairs coming out total. Stopped falling out like that. I ended up just shaving it.

same thing happened to me, but after i reduced stress--after school ended--and slept more, it grows normally and doesnt fall out like before

probably some vitamin deficiency or mild anemia if you're losing clumps. see a doctor.

I heard that jerking off a shit ton over a few weeks (Like more than once-twice a day) can cause hair loss.
Same with it being in your family (genes) and I think overwhelming amounts of stress?

Anyways, jerk it less methinks.
