Hey /fit/

I've been doing SL everyother day, without the weekend rest, since the third. I also did it two days in a row around the 13th (don't remember the exact day, I marked that day wrong on the excel sheet and just made it the thirteenth and fourteenth today when I noticed the date was off).

I use to eat about 1500-2200 cals, now I eat a lot more, about 2500-3500 and a lot of protein. (still not quite what /fit/ recommends (lol 4500-5000? I can't afford that and if I could I don't think I could manage). I'm 5'9" about, and back then I was about 145 (maybe a little less), now I am 158.

Well, here's the question finally- is it normal to gain that much weight? ( I am a noob to weight training )?

so according to you, you have been doing it for 3 weeks. 13 pounds is a lot to put on in 3 weeks, even for easy gainers. According to the SS book, you should see 1.5 to 2 pounds of gains at the most a week. It is a good probability that a lot of your gains were fat. Not to say you might have gained a good amount of muscle.

I'm kind of thinking it was water weight, because I've been staying a lot more hydrated recently.

OP here, does age matter?

younger people (read: teenagers) can put on RIDICULOUS amounts of weight if they lift hard and eat right. Starting strength was developed with the budding lifter in mind, though it can work moderately well for anyone else.

OP here, another question.

Do you think it would be better long term wise to not do SL on the week ends, and do guerilla running instead?

My over all goal is powerlifting with a lean body. (you know, kinda like Frank Yang, heh..)

Err, power, not "powerlifting"
