I walk for at least thirty minutes just pacing around my small apartment, that isn't shit. (To be blunt) Start getting outside and walking, during daylight hours to avoid being a target. HIIT is a beautiful idea, I used to do it, inadvertantly, and I'm gonna be starting again pretty soon. My personal thing is doing crunches, pushups, and biking everywhere instead of driving. Try that.
