/fit/ I can't sleep. I was tired, got off of the computer at 12, took 2 klonopin (.5 mg), cut on a movie I didn't finish last night and watched it for an hour thinking I'd fall to sleep during it, but when it was over I cut it off and laid there and I couldn't fall asleep. I just woke up.

What can I do to get to sleep? I'm not drinking caffeine drinks, haven't had anything but water for the last few years. Haven't eaten anything for a few hours either.

Melatonin. Start off on 1.5mg or less, work your way up to more if necessary. Knocks my ass out. If you find yourself more moody from taking it, stop taking it. Best of all, not addictive.

remove all flashing lights or clocks, replace you main light or bedside light with a dull red one, turn off computer, put in foam ear plugs, start reading form a book or magazine.

Btw, I wouldn't exceed 3-5 mg unless you want to be extremely groggy when you wake up. Melatonin has really helped when I have chosen to take it. Taking GABA with it (to relax yourself) can be helpful as well. Although these are over-the-counter, you still need to be careful as they are both neuroleptics.

You should try make your body slow down and get ready for sleeping before trying, god knows I dont. Im on a computer until the moment I turn in, bright screen staring me in the face, fan noise etc. Use my bed as a multi use piece of furniture rather then just a sleeping place. Flashing computer light fucking bright blue. Watching tv or loud music. All this shit just stimulates the mind. Bright lights.

Ideally I should stop all that stuff an hour before or two before trying to sleep. And just some reading.

What I do is work out so that alone makes it easier to go to sleep. Then I put on some soft relaxing music on not loud put it on real soft now close your eyes for 15 mins and don't open them. While you are in bed think of a nice peaceful river or stream flowing. Then I go to sleep.
