hey /health/, I has aquestion. For the past week or so, I've been waking up feeling like my face has been in a vice. My eyes hurt, my face and jaw is sore, and I can't seem to figure it out. I doubt I've been sleeping well but I don't see how its so focused on my face.

Probably night terrors during which you squint tightly/clench your teeth.

As to how to see if this is the case...I don't know of any fool proof ways to do it.

Try wearing a mouth guard at night. It might help relive the stress on your jaw. Other than that. If it dosn't get better, you might want to see a doc. Might turn out to be something seriose.

Do something about your pillow - adjust it so your head is perfectly in line with rest of body (which will probably mean lowering pillow), and in case it's night terrors like>>46817said, don't put heavy stuff, including your own hands, on your chest when sleeping.

Do you wake up late? Is there a lot of light in your room? You may be squinting down really hard to keep the light out of your face.

Yes, I do wake up way late. 9 hours at least lately. And I can't even get to sleep without the door blocking the hall light, and the only other sources of light are my HDD LED, my clock, and the router lights (hidden behind a bookshelf)
