What does /fit/ think of DDR?
>> Anonymous
I have a funny story about a DDR obsession i use to have when i was younger and training in martial arts.

For back belt, it is required to run three miles in under thirty minutes in the morning before the rest of the test continues (immediately after) at my dojo.

I was an avid DDR player (could complete almost any 9, some tens). and I played a ridiculous amount of that fucking game since i had a nicer home mat.

long story short, i never ran, did my three miles and rocked.

If you're good at DDR and you play it alot it will go a long way.

I would still recommend running and other forms of cardio that you might not like as it makes you better at making yourself do something you know should do that you don't like, increases self discipline.

But if it's the only way you can motivate yourself, then fuck yea

Fucking fail. Just go outside and run you pussy. Besides getting a decent mat is expensive. You could build one but you would just be wasting your time.

Why the fuck would you hate on something that actually helps most overweight people lose weight. Just because it is not your cup of tea, it is an excellent introduction into the world of cardio.

I've only ever found 2 reasons that people hate on DDR, either they can't pass even the easiest of songs, or they are terrified of doing anything that might be taken as "gay."

I was a chubster until age 14.
There was a theatre near my house, and with just starting a job and having disposable income I started playing everyday, weekdays would be 5 bucks, weekend might've been a 40 dollar token fest,
By the time I hit 15, I was a goddamn beanpole.
And that was eating 7-11 everyday, gaming, computing etc, except for the time I spent playing DDR (2-3 hours a day).
It's fun, you get to show off in public places and it keeps you healthy. Go for it.

I think this game may be the only reason a person from /v/ would ever visit /fit/

I think it makes anyone who uses it look like an idiot fucking loser with WAY too much time on his goddam hands. (or feet, in this case.)

Seriously though, if I see one more dweeby little weaboo dancing around on it, I'm gonna go apeshit.

I got pretty competitive about DDR a few years ago, and I know what you mean, it attracts the worst people.

Have to admit, you're right. Living in Phoenix, I met a lot of nice people, but there were a bunch of assholes there, too. Got pissed if they got one fucking Great and just jumped off the machine.

Possibly. I knew a lot of people there, but not by name. Only by their faces. I can only remember a few of their nicknames, but that's not one I recognize.

sounds like a guy I met in Tucson... whenever he lost in any videogame... he threw a 5-year-old style tantrum... and then said that his controller must be broken because he knows that he is better than the rest of the people playing

he didn't play ddr though

I've been to a few tournaments in phoenix, the national tournament in scottsdale, southwest showdown 3. It's about 7 hours from here so we don't go too often but Mesa Golfland is awesome.

Nice. I always went to Castles n' Coasters. Made a lot of friends there. Knew a lot of the people. Crowds were insane on the weekends.

We never got a chance to go there, we went to the Fiddlesticks in scottstdale and tempe, mesa golfland, and an arcade (I think it was a cyberstation) in a mall in Phoenix.

There was also a bowling alley we went to on the north side that had a 5th mix machine but this was a couple years back, not sure how things are now.
