Ok /fit/fucks,
I began to jog about 5 times per week a little over a month and a half ago. Just recently, as in for the past couple of weeks, when I get up to around a mile my ankles begin to burn like fuck. I posted about this when it first started, but each response told me something different. I took a few days off when the inflammation first started, but the same thing happened the next time I jogged. Please help /fit/. The pain makes it uncomfortable to jog after the first mile.

just keep running through the pain, eventually it will start to go away and you'll feel that much better for it

seriously dude, take a month or month-and-a-half off. if it still hurts, talk to a dude that analyzes your stride (i forget what they call them) and have him give you more advice/suggest running shoes for you to buy

OP Here:
Once again, some people are telling me to rest and some are saying to run through the pain.

Well just think it through... running through the pain... what would that do in YOUR mind? And resting. What would that do in YOUR mind?

You may have shin splints...... In your ankles?

Seriously, I have no idea. Maybe you have bad form when running and the stress is finally getting to you.

heres the thing to think about. did it happen immediately, as in the first time you started running? if so, yeah run through it. if it developed, you should probably rest it out

after a month the pain should have gone away shouldn't it have?

and only after a mile?

Sounds familiar. I stopped jogging for nearly a year because every time I went out I would come back with my ankle pulsating. Wearing better shoes pretty well put an end to it.
