Okay /fit/, since the day I learned that some foods were bad for you and some were good for you, since as far back as I can remember, I've tried to cook healthy foods and avoid unhealthy foods.

I've always considered pasta to be in the "bad, unhealthy" category. However, I've heard one single shred of contrary evidence recently, and I don't recall hearing much about pasta otherwise.

What do you think about the nutritional value of pasta, /ck/? Thinking back, I think it typically consists of about 40% semolina flour. That's some healthy stuff. But what's the rest? Unbleached white flour? Is this shit just empty carbs? I've eaten barely any pasta my whole life, but it's earning a place in my kitchen if I can prove its nutritional value to myself.

It can be done healthily.

Whole wheat, or protein (egg based) noodles, with a tomato sauce light on the oil, if any at all; use lots of vegetables; add LEAN meats; if you use Parmesan go light or skip it all together.

Applying those tips, you can make an extremely good tasting and healthy dish.

This thread is relevant to my interests. Need more info on whole wheat pastas and soba noodles.

I eat both kinds. It really depends how you cook it. Most importantly use good fats like olive oil, lean meat etc. Use veggies and don't put everything at once when cooking.

Yes pasta is bad for you. That's why Italians have the lowest life span in the world. Why the UN just announced the plague of pasta needs to be eradicated from the world before the rest of humanity starts eating like the Italians.
