Diet soda is actually worse, if you are trying to loose weight, than normal soda. It basicly tricks your brain in thinking there is sugar, starting a processus an anon could explain to you if you are curious. It's tricky because this is written nowhere. It is simply written 0g of sugars and that's all what people want, they don't know there is more than one type of sugar.

OK, this is why you need to drink WATER:

your body is 2/3 water: thus it needs water.

now the real reasons: Pertaining to weight loss: the biggest reason to drink water and only water is that it's a negative calorie food: the only one save for cardboard. The body tries to digest water like food But there is no calories or anything to break down at all in the stomach, so its wasting calories trying to break down something. Also, ICE cold water lowers the body temp, meaning your body needs to burn calories to raise it back up to maintain its homeostasis. Hot water does something else, raising the body temp, meaning that the body needs to sweat which does good things for you, including clear our your pores and eliminate waster: but it also improves blood circulation. Better circulation means more fat loss as in order to achieve fat loss blood needs to get to the fat cells.

water is also required for nearly every process in the body, so having enough water is essential. Water is needed to help remove waste, and helps regulate blood sugar (especially when combined with gross amounts of fiber). Water also tricks your body into thinking you've eaten more food than you have, preventing your body from thinking its starving and thus saving more energy as fat. Also, a lot of the feeling of hunger is thirst, so having enough water means you won't feel as hungry.

Diet soda is wretched for you, as is sugar free gum and anythign with aspartame. Aspartame is bad for your body, and promotes fat. other stuff in diet soda can bond with food you eat to make it worse for you.
