I've been on the Atkins diet for about 10 years or so, give or take a few. And I weight about 300 pounds before I started the diet. I'm 190 pounds today. I heard the same stuff about the diet being unhealthy, and that it wouldn't work. But trust me, its fine. The nice thing about the diet is you're allowed to cheat every now and then. At first I would give myself one day every month to eat whatever I wanted. But as I hit my weight loss limit, I eventually went up to every Sunday I would let myself taste the carbs. Of course, don't over do it on those days, and just stick to normal diet tips, such as eating 3 meals, and eating normal portions of meat, instead of large ones.
