/fit/,

meso-endo mix type guy here, but I have a simple question, why do so many people base strength off of definition? I always see people show off their muscles and then there's me, with a small lump of almost nothing, but my arms are comparatively huge already.

My stats (in lbs):
315x10, Squats
225x5, Power-clean
275x5, Deadlift
210x10 Bench

6'7"
293.7 lbs

here's why:

6'7"
293.7 lbs

with the general rule of thumb of 1" = 10 pounds, that means that you have 30 pounds on me (6'0" and 190) and every one of my lifts is better than yours. every. single. one.

and i don't think i'm very big.

Probably a bad lower back.

He has 100 pounds on you.

Someone 6' and 200 is going to lift more than someone 5'6" and 160 even if they have the same proportions due to mass.

Weird deadlift bar, it's enclosed, it pisses me off. I don't have the range of motion I would have, or the right grip.

I don't really brag to tell you the truth, I just get on with it and lift. I was pretty much wondering why people base strength off of a little lump on your arm.

Sorry boys, just starting doing this a couple of months ago..

Lot of haters in /fit/ tonight that probably can't lift shit. People probably equate strength with people that LOOK strong, ie more muscle definition. What you see is what you know I guess, maybe that's why lots of geeks want to get huge and ripped, so people will respect them.

Repping 70% of your body weight is absolutly terrible.

Maybe you should start lifting more, weakling.

people always assume I'm just a fat kid too. good thing I have friends who have been to the gym with me. I've always been incredibly strong through, so it's just part of my identity. I don't much care whether or not people acknowledge it.
