Hi /fit/,
why do I get these red streaks on my shoulders every time I work out?

They look like stretch marks but they are not since the skin feels smooth. Also I'm skinny as hell. They usually go away after 2 days.

I started going to the gym a couple of weeks ago. At first I thought it had something to do with the pads on the calf raise machines or maybe the seams of my shirt.

But a friend of mine also gets them and he's not doing calf raises, plus he always wears a shirt with no seams on the shoulders.

so what the fuck are they?

I get these, too. Not sure what they are, but I'm pretty sure they're not stretch marks because they go away, like you said, after two days.

This didn't help, but yeah. I know some other guys who get them. We're not alone in our medical anomalies.

The squat bar maybe?

I get red streaks on my shins and I'm pretty sure it's from deadlifts.

I've gotten them on my shoulders before, and they actually will cross over stretch marks (got those too). Probably some burst blood vessels, nothing to worry about.
