sup /fit/, how goes it kind sirs?
so recently ive put on some weight. i'm 6'2, weight 200~ pounds. i want to drop back down to 180-185lbs, my average weight.

i just got back from the gym in a long long time, 25min of cycling on the bike. i plan to cycle 20-30 mins 5/6 days a week. how long does /fit/ think it will take for me to lose the weight? i dislike running, so i figure cycling is the next best alternative

25 minutes got me about 6 miles on the bike, and said i only lost about 200 calories. wtf? thats almost as much as a goddamn cereal bar

a male has got a maintenance of around 2000 calories a day. that's how much you burn just by not being dead. if you cut down you can get to 1600-1800 calories while not starving, and the 200 you add on that will total you to a 400-600 calorie deficit per day. tl,dr, you will lose weight at twice the rate if you do that cycling as compared to just cutting back on calories.

so if i continue 6 miles a day, 20-25 minutes, 5-6 days a week, losing roughly 200 calories a day, how long do you think i will drop to 180-185lbs? a month? also do you recommend anything else? i know weight lifts wouldnt really help me lose weight, but it would get me more in tone
