Question for athleticsfags. I developed an interest in middle distance running during the olympics, and just tried an 800m for the first time since high school (Nowadays I just usually run long distances at a slow pace). Anyway, I did it in 2:13. Is this good or shit?

Average.

Don't judge compare yourself to others when you talk about bests. Thats a setup for failure.

Rather you should be constantly trying to improve your personal bests.

800m is a sprint. It usually does not go past 400m but it can be 500m sometimes.

Do you remember what your time was in high school? It's better to compare yourself to yourself. 2:13 sounds okay...I ran a mile yesterday and timed it for the first time since my freshman year of high school...My time now was about 45 seconds quicker than it was 4 years ago. That's a good way to compare.

The last 800 I remember doing was like 2:30. I'm just a distance runner though.
