I`ve kind of hit a plateau. Right now I`m 230, down from 300, but I want to lose another 40 lbs. I keep going down 10 lbs then going back up, and it`s getting quite frustrating. Is there any tips for exercise that will shock my bodyÉ I`ve tried HIIT but I don`t think I can do it as well as intended since I`m still a big guy.

I`ve found it hard to stay on a diet because of my job which is probably the major reason as well, any tips on thatÉ

I work 12 hour days, and by the time I get home and do my run I`m too tired to make anything for the next day. When I get up I have to rush and often choose between having breakfast or making my lunch. It`s no excuse but I`ve just been way too tired.

i was doing the same thing, plateaued for a few months till I realized it was my diet that needed fixing. whatever work you're doing you're just putting back with the food you're eating.

Why wouldn't you be able to do HIIT as well? I started doing HIIT at about 240 pounds, 6 reps at 90/30 seconds, and I was almost mostly fat, very little muscle (though I'd been biking regularly for weeks before hand, losing about 15 pounds). I did perfectly fine. No injuries, or adverse reactions, and I lost almost 8 pounds in the first week, with HIIT as my only cardio, and making few dietary changes (actually increased eating, added OATS and protein shakes). The weight is still coming off too. In fact, I'm about to do some HIIT with some friends before eating Thanksgiving dinner.

You really shouldn't have any problems with HIIT just because you're big. Sounds like most of your problems are dietary. And willpower.

I don`t think doing a half-assed HIIT helps though. I was doing 30 seconds sprinting 30 secs jogging and by the 6th `sprint` it was way too slow. I can get my heart rate to the 175 range just by running on the treadmill and throwing in some sprints anyways. The few extra BPM from HIIT didn`t seem worth it, since I run for an hour, and I`m able to do it every day.

what I do is find a road with lots of traffic that has a speedlimit around 20 mph,like a school zone,and while running down the road every few minutes chase a car that drives past.If the cars are still driving past relatively quick then run faster.
