What the fuck does /fit/ think of the Nuva Ring?
>> Anonymous
My girlfriend tried it about 4 months ago. I would hit it periodically during sex and whenever I did it would bother her quite a bit.
>> Anonymous
I was on it for about 2 years. I hated it. I ended up getting yeast infections when I had no prior history. My ex ended up getting a vasectomy. (We broke up a few months after.)

Seriously... you'd be better off with the pill. It's not worth the trouble.

Oh wow. This is why I'd never get a vasectomy unless I'd been married like 15 years. I know some of them can be reversed but damn.

At least he can date and fuck without condoms.
I like my semen and it's color.

There are only two options:

USE CONDOMS
or
HAVE YOUR MAN GET A VASECTOMY

FACTS:
The pill has life threatening side effects. The safety of them has not been fully tested.

Anything that alters your hormones, alters your hormones. Think about it. Your body has a delicate balance of hormones, then you let the nuva ring release it's hormones in contact with a body part that absorbs things easily. Not safe.

the pill made me feel all crazy. Once I stopped I felt better.

I've never heard of nuva ring, I'll have to look into that.

The pill thing is true. I try not to think about it, cause my mom's on the pill and I know when I get on a steady relationship, I plan to be too. However, one of the teachers at my old high school had a paralyzed arm, and since she was an older woman I thought it was from a stroke. It turns out (and she told me this herself) that she did have a stroke- but it was from the birth control pills she had been taking. She had no prior blood related issues either...

It's kind of incredibly easy to avoid pregnancy.

Learn your ovulation cycle and don't have sex 5 days before ovulating or 5 days after... and always use the rubber rain-coat of doom.

well actually any man who likes his life should consider getting a vasectomy ASAP

The pill has been being used by millions of people, since 1960. How in the world do you imagine that it hasn't been tested yet?

WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU TAKE THE PILL IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO HAD A STOKE AND PARALYZED HER ARM BECAUSE OF THE PILL ARE YOU FUCKING STUPID OR SOMETHING?????

PARALYZED ARM YEAH THATS FUCKING SEXY.

SHIT MY GIRLFRIEND IS GETTING OFF THAT FUCKING THING NOW. I DON'T WANT SOME GIMP GIRLFRIEND.

November 14, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A new study shows a strong correlation between the use of "the pill" and an increased cervical cancer risk.
http://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2007/nov/07111406.html

ALSO:
I don't remember everything. But I remember that if you are woman who took the pill around the year 1970 or something that you should be screened for some kinda disease that is greatly increased by taking the pill around that time.

It's sad that people trust their doctors so much. Doctors are being mislead by the Pharmaceutical companies that make all kinda of drugs that need LONG TERM studies.

The pill is just starting to show some of it's dangerous side effects on the older generations.

Here is a pretty honest source I think.

However, some studies do show a link between pill use and breast cancer

The nuva ring and patches in general sound very convenient but my experience with the pill has me weary about any sort of birth control.
I was on the pill for 4 months in middle school (an attempt to regulate my period: I was having two cycles a month) and the pill caused fuckhorrible cramps when my period started up for the month, despite the dosage being low as could be manufactured (which I found out recently). It might have been because I was little but the pain was completely debilitating and lasted 2-3 days, which I spent in and out of sleep until it stopped. Shit sucked so much.

I no longer take the pill, my cycles are normal, and cramps are never anywhere near bad as when I was on it. :}

My girlfriend currently uses a Nuva Ring, and it's caused no problems. On occasion during sex I will bump into it. She doesn't even notice it, I don't think, and it doesn't bother me at all.

Overall, no complaints about it. Would rather that than wear a condom, and I think my girlfriend prefers it over having to take a pill every single day (lord help you if you forget to on a cetain day.)

CONDOMS ARE KING!

Plus they can be all bumpy or have those fun ribs.

Also, you don't need to use them until the end if your man has went pee about three times before his last ejaculation!

What? No.

Better start saving, because you're soon going to face 18 years of child support.

Hay guys. Since this seems to be a pregnancy thread I thought I'd ask here: If I haven't had my period in over 3 months (I think I'm sorta underweight nows or something... I'm positive it's not pregnancy tho cuz I haven't had sex in that time period ;_;), is it fine to have sex without condoms?

I was on the nuvaring for a bit. I honestly think it's the best when it comes to birth control. It's the lowest dose of hormones on the market, rival to the patch.

I naturally have an irregular period with terrible, break into tears cramps. When I was on Nuvaring, cramps were nonexistent and my period was on a regular schedule.

The only downside was that my boyfriend would hit it during sex and it made it uncomfortable sometimes.

Also, concerning blood clots, they ask you if anyone in your family has blood problems or previous history. Just because you don't have blood problems now, family members might and it might have been passed to you.

tl;dr I approve of nuvaring

How underweight are you? How many calories are you taking in? Your period can actually stop if you're malnourished enough.
And don't have sex without a condom unless you're in a steady relationship, STD-tested, and are on some kind of alternative for of birth control.
Seriously.
