Loose skin? Anonymous
Sup /fit/.

I'm 18 years old, 6'0, and weigh around 270-280lbs.

If I lose around 60lbs in the next 5-6 months, will I have loose skin?

I eat a lot of healthy foods with omega3, I use skin products, and I take a loofah to my skin in the shower.

I'm guessing that made me sound a little gay, but I don't care.

I walk/bike 3-6 miles a day and multiple reps with lower weight to build leaner muscle.

No-one in my family has loose skin (that I know of,) so, I'm not genetically prone to it.

Help me out.

You will only get loose skin if you have stomach surgery.

loofahs aren't gay. i like lather, and the exfoliant properties give you lovely soft skin.

I'm on a moderately low-carb diet (I don't consume more than 60-70 per day)

Anyone got any real insight?

YES. Just eat healthy and exercise. Like half hour a day keeping your heart rate at around 140 - 160, then increasing that over the next 6 months to about an hour a day, same heart rate though. Also weight training builds muscle mass which in turn increases your metabolism... you don't have to get buff just. you know, use your muscles, but dont get sucked into the no carb diet or any other supplements bullshit, they never work and they always work against you.

There will never be a fat burning pill or a diet that is not bad for you. just eat less and exercise. Then if you still have self esteem issues see a shrink rather than spend money on products that don't do anything but take your fucking money.

Was that "Yes" as in "Yes, you will have loose skin" or "Yes, I have some real insight?"

By the way, I don't take diet pills or any of that shit, and I never will. I am dieting properly. I'm eating a lot of good carbs and limiting the complex carbs -- that's all. I eat 4-5 times a day, never exceeding 300-350 calories per meal, and I drink water 95% of the time. I'll occasionally have some tea.

It depends. It really does. You may have to aim for a slower weight loss if you want to ensure that you don't get loose skin. Have any other fatties in your family lost a great deal of weight? You say no one has loose skin, but if they haven't lost weight then that isn't a good indicator.

Yes. A cousin of mine didn't have any when he lost weight, and neither did my dad.

Has anyone here lost a lot of weight and didn't have excess skin after?

My mother lost upwards of 50 pounds and didn't have any excess skin. She lost about .5 pounds a week, which is low, but she did it intentionally. It is possible.

How long had she been carrying the extra weight?

I don't know the answer to your question but I applaud your correct spelling of "lose" and "loose."
