Hey there /fit/!

So I've been neglecting my weight for quite some time now, bordering 280 at 5' 10"... I want to change that. The funny thing is... I eat light, I eat breakfast, and my job requires me to walk around the store all night (I would estimate 2 miles)... what am I doing wrong?

I would love to drop 20lbs per month, and realize that it will take commitment, and am willing to commit to a diet plan, so what do I do? Any tips?

i wake up at 5am every day, walk 2km to work, lift shit all day for 10 hours, walk 2km home. go to the gym and powerlift for 2 - 3 hours.

i don't consider the walking to be exercise.

it is only a workout if you make it a workout. Walking 3.5 mph with a heart rate at least 120 bpm is a workout. walking around briskly for a total of 2 miles is not a workout.

OP here...

I came from a desk job, so walking 2 miles every day (I do not stop and "power walk" around the store because my department is literally around the store... I make one lap of the store in 2:30 power walking and constantly do this for 5 - 6 hours.

For breakfast, I usually eat a banana, apple, or occasionally a peanutbutter and banana sandwhich.

Lunch is usually a sandwhich (I don't use condiments) and an apple.

Dinner is usually late unfortunately (after 10 due to work), consisting of some sort of meat and usually a salad made of lettuce and carrots.

wow dude..you need alot of help. you need a much better diet and you need to realize that while being active overall (which is what you do at your job) is good, you still need to devote some time everyday to improving your fitness levels. This means you HAVE to devote time to cardio wokrouts where your heartrate is high and stays high. It also means you have to do a strength training workout.

I try... between work and school, I have no time on my hands until 10:30 or even 11:00.

Just not sure what I can do at home to improve myself.

well..for one, you need strength training. Look into calistehncis routine. Google that shit bro.

also, google weight loss diet. you need to do some reasearch dude.

if you can afford it, buy yourself a stationary bike from wal-mart for about 100 bucks.

go on it for half an hour in the morning as soon as you wake up. take a piss, hope on the thing and turn on the news. keep your heart rate at least 120 bpm, preferably 150. With this and a calisthenics routine, you can easily workout at least half an hour every day in your own bedroom.

Sounds like you're leaving something out. Do you snack during the day? Do you drink sodas or high sugared juices? Your telling me that on a diet of 1200 calories (which is a very generous estimate) you're not losing ANY weight...I know this is very low amount so it'll put you in starvation mode and cause you to burn muscle instead of fat, but seriously...how are you not losing any weight? You're leaving something out, or just trolling.

Also, walking isn't a workout.

walking is only a workout if he treats it like one. walking around all day is not. walking 3 miles fast is.
