Another thing is that HIIT is not that fantastic for weight loss. HIIT is more or less, like you guys said, for people who are ALREADY athletic and in good shape, but want to get even more cardio endurance.
I'd be more willing to advise steady 4 MPH jogs for anyone interested in just losing weight and getting healthier. The thing people forget is that just because you want to be in better shape and look good does not mean you have to strive to be some kind of Olympian or NFL star.
If your goal is high end athleticism, that's great, but do me a favor and don't go to fat people telling them to adhere to the same workout that you use for football training, when all they need to do is lose 50 pounds and keep it off. They don't want to be gridiron warriors, they just want regular health.
