so ive been drinking energy drinks every single day for over the past year, year and a half.
ive also gained 15~20lbs over the course of this year, but also got a new job.

do energy drinks cause increased weight? anything else terribad i should know about?

coffee doesnt do shit for me. redbull doesnt do shit for me. monsters are pretty much the only thing that get me going through the day

Drink water, any worries that you have that your drink may be unhealthy are solved. You're also rellying on the chemicals in the drink to pull you alnog through your day. Get off of those, it'll hell for a while, but after that you'll feel much better.

Im generally a tired person. I havent been diagnosed with anything, but im generally always lethargic. Maybe I have low blood sugar or something? I dont know. All I know is that energy drinks pretty much keep my balance to where I'm "suppose" to be

I feel the same way. I'm hopelessly dependent and addicted to caffeine to get me through work. I drink 3 extremely strong cups of coffee every day during my 8 hour shift. I feel energic and fine at work but then go home and crash. It's a shitty way to live, but I just can't stop.

Now, if I go to the gym every day I feel more energetic and don't need the caffeine anymore. But we're talking about a 6-week process here of quitting caffeine cold-turkey and going to the gym. I'm going to be a total zombie for the whole time, and I just can't afford to do it. I hate living like this.

It's not. The guy suggesting that you take amphetamines has no idea what he's talking about. Amphetamines are NOT what you're looking for.

I know better than most people for reasons I'm unable to discuss. Amphetamines don't give you energy... they just force your body to kick into high gear. The cost is your physical and mental health.

They make you feel energetic and euphoric for a while. Then you start to get more and more strung-out.

If you haven't ever been absolutely and totally strung-out after becoming a regular user, you don't know shit and aren't qualified to tell me it's any different.

Just because it's in a pill and made in a legal doesn't mean it's not amphetamines. Just because it's not fat soluble like meth doesn't mean it won't do exactly the same thing given the dose (actually, that's the only difference between amphetamines and methamphetamine... meth is fat soluble, so you have to use less and it lasts a bit longer. that's IT)

I got fat the same way. Only I drank mountain dew, because I'm not stupid enough to pay 2 dollars and 50 cents or whatever it is now for something with the taste of piss and the caffeine of a single cup of coffee. Sugar is the key problem here, that's why I drink a lot of water now. I have a couple energy drinks in the fridge that have been sitting there for days. If you need the energy, take ephedrine, or drink black coffee.

you have really been an inspiration to me to try and fix myself. i've lived a sedentary lifestyle ever since the start of college, and despite having a fast metabolism (even without exercise I never go fat with all the food I eat), i started exercising already - i borrow an abswing, do ab crunches (as i want to build the abs), and jog for about an hour every two days (but with free time i have jogged everyday since friday).

i have high-fiber bread with me. can you recommend any good spreads on it, besides cheese? it's hard for me to eat those small meals a day, at best i can manage only three, but i do try to lessen the amount of meat in the veggies i eat. i eat meat once in my three meals, and i work out decently.

i avoided fastfood already, although i eat occasionally french fries. my abs have been forming, but if you can suggest better exercises i'd be grateful.

I try to avoid sweetener at all cost too.
However those studies linking aspartam and cancer are not conclusive.
They tested it on rats and after three years found cancer in the rats.
Now one has to see that rats only live 3 years and usually die from cancer...
Anyway, if you google a bit about aspartam you'll find this: It breaks down in your body into three components: 1.asparagin 2.phenylalanin 3.methanol
The first two are aminoacids that you will find in meat. The third can be found in vegetables like tomatoes.

Anyone agree with Anon here? Ive had a couple Spike Shooters, and they're damn good. Way superior to Monster energy drinks, but I am not 100% sure they are healthy. I dont see myself drinking them on a daily basis to be a good thing for my body, let alone an upgrade from Monster.

Regardless, would Shooter still gain additional weight?
