So /fit/, I woke up this morning unable to fucking move. My entire fucking body was sore as hell, and I just stayed in bed until now today.

I'm a fatass and you guys inspired me to run yesterday. So I did, I ran for about 3 miles.
Ran till I couldn't run anymore, fast walked until my heart rate slowed down, then ran again. Kept doing this until I couldn't run anymore period and was walking like a grandma at the end.

So is this soreness thing normal? Anyone experience anything like this? Btw, it feels fucking amazing to be this fucking tired.

your body needs to adjust to actually working instead of being a fatty. Soreness will pass and you'll love running.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delayed_onset_muscle_soreness

You're probably in rediculous amounts of pain, but it's good. Not only does it mean that you built a lot of muscle, but your also burnt a lot of fat. It's only possible to do both at the same time effectively when you're getting back into shape, which is indicated by the Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness.

It'll probably last for a few more days. Don't work out during this time or you'll regret it. Luckily, you probably wont experience this kind of pain again unless you start working out a different group of muscles that wasn't hit by yesterday's run. And even if you do experience it, it won't be as severe.

Good job. Keep it up.

Shittiest advice ever.

Look, use some logic.
Don't burn yourself out by doing something passed your bodies capabilities. How about you work on your dieting first and once you're down to a decent size, work on harder exercises?

when I cycle through my phases of being lazy and trying to get in shape, I secretly love feeling like that.

The all over intense pain.

Its hurts of course..but you know you accomplished something.

am I weird?

Hopefully its just DOMS, and it will go away leaving you a little stronger.

Hopefully you didn't cause something like patellar tendonitis or screw up your IT bands or any of the other crap that you can do when you suddenly and drastically change your workout volume/intensity.

IT band issues will take several days, up to a week to manifest, so if your knees start hurting more and more while the rest of your body is starting to get better in 4-5 days, congrats you blew it.

meh for me when i've laid off excercise for a long time the first time coming back is always the hardest/sorest expierience after that i don't get sore anymore period....so just go back at it tomorrow and i bet you won't be sore the next day....how much do you hate yourself....if you are sore you can't hate yourself because you will be too sore to care so enjoy the soreness its better than the hating yourselfness

Dont listen to this pussy, rest for 2 days and then go again. Maintain your diet and keep doing what you're doing and results will come.
