Yeah- losing water won't make you look thinner.
If you don't give a shit about your health, not eating anything will actually make you pretty thin pretty fast. You need at least a week for there to be noticeable results, though. And you'll just gain all your weight back after you start eating again, so.
If you've got at least a month you could probably lose 10lbs of fat safely. Lift weights + HIIT cardio + reducing caloric intake = you lose fat, but gain muscle definition, so you won't look or feel like shit.
