Ok /fit/ I need your help. And before you dismiss me, I have lurked a shitload, read Venuto's book (AMG UNF UNF UNF) and Starting Strength, so I know quite a bit of shit, I just need some advice. I'm 20, 5'9'' and two weeks ago when I started my routine to losing weight I was 225. When I weighed myself 8 days in, I was 219. I had a cheat day (like 6 cookies and a glass of chocolate milk early in the day, then pork chops for dinner) two days ago, and when I weighed myself today (I don't weigh regularly, I'm not interested in 'weight loss' but rather fat loss.) I was 221. Now, is this normal? Some sources say it is, some don't. I am confused. I do 45-60 mins of cardio at a moderately high intensity everyday, plus I'm lifting every other day (MON/WED/FRI/SUN) doing full body workouts (temporary until I'm used to lifting, in a month I'll change). On the cheat day though, it was raining epically hard so I couldn't do any cardio, but it was my lifting day so I did do that. I'm also eating ~2000 calories a day, spanned over 5-6 meals every 2.5 hours ala Venuto's guidelines. It kind fo feels like I'm stuffing food into me for the hell of it. Am I eating too much, could that be what caused the weight gain? I need a consult lol

tl;dr Is it normal I gained 2 pounds, after a cheat day, and is this fat or just fluctuating weight? Or is it because I'm forcing myself to eat 2000 calories a day, eating constantly every 2.5 hours, sometimes when I'm not even hungry.

Pic related, it's directed to you guise.

Actually I weigh myself in the morning, about 20 mins after I get up, before I've eaten anything and after I've emptied my body.

That's what I was thinking, water weight, but the fact that I am constantly shoving food down my throat from the time I get up to 3 hours before I sleep, even though it's all healthy food and only 2000 calories, it feels like I am eating waaay too much, I don't know. Should I eat less, eventhough I KNOW I shouldn't, it FEELS like I should. The cheat day was just the icing on the cake that made me feel like I gained weight.

Well unless you want to gain weight I don't think you should ever *force* yourself to eat. If you can keep up the energy you need to work out properly and get shit done while eating less than what you do now and without feeling hungry, there's nothing *bad* that could happen, right? At worst your muscle growth will slow down a little.

Well, my maintenance is like ~3100 calories, and I'm only supposed to be going 1000 under maintenance, but add the ~500 calories I burn from my cardio, it's more like 1500 under. 2000 is the most I can manage to eat in the day though, and I'm only really forcing myself to eat like 2 meal, the rest I am actually hungry.

Check your weight again in a few days. I'm pretty sure i read from a credible source that taking in alot of carbs will retain water alongside it.

Well as far as I know one of the multi-meal ideas is that you're not supposed to be hungry because your body has something to digest at all times. If you're hungry... you're doing it wrong? Not sure on this though, someone confirm/deny.

EVERYONE FUCKING READ THIS SHIT RIGHT HERE.
3500 Calories = 1lb of fat
DID YOU EAT 7000 CALORIES?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
No? Then you didn't gain all fat.
What where you wearing, did you weigh your self at the same time as before? It's most likely water weight.
Sorry for rage, and use of cruise control.
Good luck, eat well regularly, treat your self to that cheat meal, you deserve it after a week or whatever of hard work. Just don't eat and extra 7000 calories worth of cheat meal.

yea the mini-meal idea is to regulate your blood sugar so you dont go w/o food all morning and afternoon, go batshit crazy at 3pm and eat everything in sight.

you can take the same amount of food, eat in 1 sitting or spread it out. calorie is calorie, burn is burn.

p.s. i forgot to add that i did try the whole 'spread out your meals' but personally found that it induced me to eat more than necessary, causing the whole weight loss process to drag on. i'd rather feel hungry for a part of the day, but just have a normal meal and be done with it.

The whole point of the small meals spread out is to speed up your metabolism.
