Hay /fit/,
what software do you recommend for counting calories? My current one doesn't work well in vista which is somewhat annoying so I'd love some alternatives. I'm a eurofag so the possibility to use metric is more or less a requirement.

Try a memo pad.

Doing it manually removes some of the point. My current app (which I have to run through fucking vmware) has a large list of food with nutritional facts. Doing it by hand will be a pain in the behind.

I roughly estimate in my head, really counting them is just ridiculous.
And I also eat stuff that's doesn't have any information about energy.

I find a lot of foods which you would think had the same calories have dofferent ones according to where they come from. other day, i noticed carrots from one place were 37 cal per 100, and in other place 24 per 100

I'm a fatty, so if I were to estimate I'd just cheat. A lot.

Microsoft Excel.

Put number of servings in one cell.
Put number of calories per serving in another.
In third cell, put =, then the first cell, then *, then the second cell.

Then at the end you can just hit the autosum button to add up the total calories.

I can post a spreadsheet that already does this if you beg me hard enough (and if I can find a site which I can easily upload stuff to).
