Okay /fit/, so this is more of a health question than a fitness one:

A few months ago I had lost a lot of weight in a relatively short time frame due to malnutrition, and I've noticed that I've lost a lot of hair as a result of this. It's not TOO bad or noticeable, it's mostly thinning out fairly evenly on the top of my head.

Was wondering, anyone else experience this? I've began eating right again, but I'm still working on losing weight so I run a lot (shed about 2 lbs per week). I've also begun taking vitamin supplements (I've heard B6 and folic acid is good for hair regrowth). Is there anything else I can do to make my hair grow faster? Also, how long does it usually take for it to start growing back? And how do I make my hair stronger/not fall out so easily? When I come out of the shower and dry my hair off with a towel I notice a lot of hair falling out.

I know it's not genetics because my dad's 50 years old and he's barely lost any hair. I don't know how my mother's father is, but I'm pretty sure he wasn't balding either (especially not at an early age).

Pic unrelated but cool.

Pretty much same problem. To be honest there is a bunch of old wives remedies, most of which don't do shit. I'm too taking vitamins and in addition to them I'm using a medicinal shampoo. Also some girl told me to try "placenta capsules" or something like that. Haven't tried it yet, but putting dead babies on your head sounds pretty cool.

Putting dead babies on my head DOES sound pretty cool...

I just read an article and it said that the hair won't begin its regrowth stage until you've stopped losing weight/reached your target weight.

So I guess when I feel comfortable enough I'll stop running and just work on the weights and hope for the best.

Good luck to you, anon.

I hate to bump, but does anyone else have anything they can contribute?
