I might be doing basic training soon. Got my girl pregnant (maybe), and I'm not really all that fit being a smoker and lazy as fuck. So, what's the best way to get into shape fast? I'd like not to be a fatfuck by the time I get to basic, so it's not such a mindfuck and I don't...die >.>

I'll have to quit for basic regardless, from what I understand. And I only drink diet soda right now, although that's probably not much better.

Any suggestions for how I should be eating?

Diet soda bad, if not worse, than normal soda.

Cut out fast food (I eat it once in a while when I'm out with friends and we are hungry)

At first, don't eat all your meals until your really full, just eat enough.

After 2 hours from your last meal, or when you are slightly hungry, eat a small snack. (I eat celery + peanut butter, or a granola bar, or a bag of cashews)

When you workout, like do pushups and stuff. Don't work out that muscle group the next day. Most people say it's okay to workout the same muscles everyday, but I'm not 100% which one is true.

What I do is, workout and all that stuff one day. Then I do jog and sprint the next day.

That's just what I do, just play around with things and see what works for you.
