ITT Crossfit:

I got recommended it by my Krav Maga instructor. Looks fairly legit as far as a fitness program is concerned. What I find interesting is that the majority of people who do it tend to be a lot bulkier and heavier that I would ideally like to be. Obviously a fitness routine is to a point better than no fitness routine. I'm 5'8" at 145, so I'm not looking to do any major fat loss or anything drastic.

Anybody use crossfit here or know someone who does and want to weigh in?

One here.

I'd say go for it... the range and short nature of the WOD (workout of the day) makes it a really easy program to organise yourself around.

You'll certainly get bulky, no joke about that, but no where near as wide as you would just doing a straight lifting program. What you do gain in muscle, will be extremely useful as well... don't let the size of those athletes fool you, they're immensely more flexible and agile than most. It is a really good training regime for any sport really, you can even find ways to specialise to martial arts if you get comfortable with the plain WODs.

Overall... get yourself into it, but you're going to have to find a good gym with some freeweights and squat racks etc. and you're going to have to get your form perfected in order to really push yourself in the WODs, and BELIEVE ME, YOU WILL HAVE TO PUSH YOURSELF.

The question on everyone's mind here is, "Will you get abs doing it?"

Yes, if you eat lots and keep up the workout you'll start to see your abs as everything gets bigger.

You won't get ridiculously pretty fag boy ripped unless you then diet for it.

Ah yesterday's WOD was delicious. Did it outside. Got some looks. Kipping was involved.

how big you get depends on how much you eat

The looks are the best hahah... Especially when people come over and are like "learn to pull up idiot" then go back to going dumbell curls in the mirror.

If you don't want to get bulky, then restrict your calories. Your metabolism will be so high you'll have to eat a SHITLOAD of calories to gain much anyway.

Guy in pic has been at it for four years.
