Eat more food, more frequently. Theres no easy way out. Eat highly nutritious calorie dense food like nuts, cheeses, meats, peanut butter(the real kind), etc. Eat at least 5 meals a day, and if you want extra insurence, get a high calories high protein/carb weight gainer powder to use inbetween meals. Muscle Milk colligiate is a good choice.

That's honestly bad advice. If he eats poor calories in large quantities, he's just going to get fat and have stretch marks. He's wondering how to gain healthy weight and build muscle at the same time, in which case he should probably see a personal trainer who is also qualified as a nutritionist.

You can just be an extremely small dude with all cushion and no muscle.

More importantly don't fret OP, I was once in your predicament as 5 "7" 110 pounds.
I'm now up to 5 "7" 120 pounds, it's not the largest improvement but I'm happy with it.

93 lbs and 5'7"? where the fuck are you? Africa? shit eat something. Start by eating things that are heavy, but healthy...pasta is my personal favorite for making gains. Then start attempting pushups, situps, crunches, and jumping SQUATZ (better than just weightless squats) If you're this light, you will make larger gains in the beginning, which will give you enough to continue...good luck

Energy In VS Energy Out.

In order to see if you're going to gain weight or lose it you need to calculate your basal metabolic rate and multiply that by 1.5

It's a pretty roough measurement but it's more accurate than "GO AND EAT YOU SKINNY CUNT"

Male
BMR = (Weight (lbs) x 10) X (Weight (lbs) x 2)

So in your case that's...
(93 x 10) x (93 x 2)
930 + 186 = 1116
1116 x 1.5
= 1674.

Basically what that says is that if you are to MAINTAIN a weight of 93 pounds, you need to be intaking 1674 calories (approximately) per day. If you increase the intake of calories without burning them off through exercise, weight gain. If you intake less than 1674 calories per day, you will lose weight.

And about the push up thing, never fret. When Christian Bale trimmed down for his role in the machinist he couldn't complete a single push up.

that can't be the equation, it's illogically planned.
the whole thing simplifies to 20 times weight squared.
any sort of real science would have simplified the equation before publishing it.

I meant + not X in the layout.
It's been published and it's what is taught in school... it's pretty accurate too seeing as BMR accounts for 55-75% of your total energy expenditure

in that case it still simplifies to 12 times weight.
but i believe you i guess, because in a textbook that equation would make it easier to mentally compute

I can tell you what to eat.
LOTS of vegetables.
LOTS of whole grain pasta's or bread's.
LOTS of meat/fish.
LOTS of fruits.
Drink a few glasses of non fat milk as well.

Eat healthy, but eat a lot of the good stuff. Wiki the food pyramid and see how many servings a day you should have of each different category and follow that. Pretty much it should be easy.

Lol, you are indeed right. Never thought of it that way. There is a seperate equation for woman aswell...

Mind you there are many different methods of calculation to determine a persons BMR. I suppose the reason why they taught us that long method is to make us believe it was somehow more accurate than others.

Thanks for shedding some light dude

no problem whatsoever
to free up class periods (hs) i'm taking summer school
one of my classes is health and although it's not exactly college level (i have a 99 average and i've only showed up to class on week of the two so far), some of this fitness stuff that i already knew is being confirmed

Dude, you honestly don't need advice. The obvious answer is EAT. Eat full fat everything, a bunch of nuts, delicious sweets, cake, lots of meat, chocolate, etc.

probably rewrote my message a million times because i can relate so fuckin much

i've thought long and hard about this and the only thing, for myself i could think that was healthy is follow in the footsteps of bruce lee.

if you need help or inspiration goto youtube and look at nikes commercials, their slogan is my fucking lifestyle, without it and the endless inspirational stories i would probably still be pushin 100 like you.

btw: forcing yourself to eat will probably be as hard as working out. make sure whatever it is your doing you're doing it correctly, don't slack unless working something could set you back permanently or temporarily.
