i'm 20 years old and otherwise in good health. ive been waking up with pins and needles in my fingers the last few days. it's lasted for about 20 minutes. is it the way im sleeping?

Yeah you're probably just sleeping on your arm. I've woken up and had to physically pick up my arm with my other arm because it was so dead.

It's likely, yes. Do you sleep with any pressure on your wrists/forearms/hands? For example, placing your hands under your pillow?

Most likely, yeah. Carpel Tunnel Syndrome can also cause that sensation, though.

Same here. Such a strange feeling. I know someone who slept with his elbow above his head, resting his hand against the headboard of his bed. His arm went dead, and when he woke up his fist dropped onto his face and broke his nose.

Sure, sounds LOGICAL, but I'd call a god damned Exorcist to be sure.

It sounds like his fist may be trying to murder him. He's lucky he woke up when he did; it could've ended much worse.

Stop sleeping on a bed made of needles

yeah i do. do you think the pressure or sleeping this way could do damage long term?

To be quite honest, not really. Even if it does worry you, the simplest solution would be to change your sleeping position.

Had the same problem due to my sleeping shirt being too tight.
It cut off bloodflow to my arm.
