This is the most important thing: Make a commitment to yourself for life, You have to throw away your old lifestyle forever and UPGRADE it to something healthier starting with eating clean foods and doing activities that require physical exertion. You CANNOT be afraid of hardcore physical training it is the ONLY way to get lean and strong.
what you need to do is to first change your diet, eat only complex carbohydrates(vegetables, 100% whole wheat grains and fruits). You need to cut most refined carbs from your diet such as white bread, white rice, anything that says on the back that it is enriched or refined. The reason for this is that since these foods are heavily processed they lose most if not all their nutritional value, making it a husk of what it once was, which makes it process quickly through your body, giving you energy and spiking your blood sugar levels, thereby increasing total sugar stored as fat in your body. complex carbs take longer to break down which helps your metabolism and keep your sugar levels stable due complex carbs high fiber. I don't think I need to say this but up your lean protein intake as well. Get used to sticking to birds and fish as your main source of protein as they are the leanest meats. If there is anything you need to really drill into your head its that sugar in large quantities(15 grams or more) is the devil. If you look at a can of soda its usually between 32-40 grams of sugar, a ridiculous level of sugar to spike your levels and make you fatter. Up your caloric intake to 2000 daily with clean foods and you should be ok so far as diet is concerned.
