Bruce Wayne
Hello /fit/, I come to you for help.
This is me. I am not pleased. When I was younger I was chubby but puberty kicked in and in a matter of weeks things had evened out.
But I've never really felt comfortable with myself when undressed. Clothed and standing up I like to think I have a normal looking torso. But there is a psychological barrier preventing me from exposing my upper body.
A lot of it has to do with really bad self-consciousness. I am constantly told that I look good (not trying to brag here...) and I have no problem attracting females (or males) but I still can't appreciate myself or take any of the compliments seriously.
Enough of the emo crap though. I started running in November but after about a month I got sick and couldn't run for two weeks and since then I haven't picked it up.
At the moment I am excercising at home doing push-ups, sit-ups, lifting dumbbells and have been doing so for the past three or four weeks.
But I am still confused regarding what I *should* do. Should I burn fat or should I build muscles? I got my BMI checked and I was below average with 18.5 when I should be between 22 and 25. I am 18 years old, 180 cm (about 5.8 feet) and weigh 60Kg (about 130 pounds). I should gain weight but as it is now I feel too "pudgy" and want to tighten things up.
Am I on the wrong track? Will building muscles even things out? I am not looking to become all buff but I just want to look more manly. ;_;

Yeah... I edited out my phone because I am a paranoid fucker and I know people from my school lurk 4chan...

Build muscles. Stop the running. Eat lots of protein. Get bigger muscles, then think about cutting fat

Should I combine that with any cardio at all?
People keep peopagating the idea that you can't bulk and run at the same time. Or was it lose weight and bulk at the same time?
And if I should incorporate running should it be on other days than the "bulking days"?

Right, but will simply doing push-ups, sit-ups and lifting dumbbells get me there?

cardio doesn't hurt.
Good for warming up.
Alternating days is ok too.
You can do a lot with dumbbells.

I think it depends on how heavy they are. Also if you're able to do 40 pushups without stopping you really don't need to be doing them

yeah you need muscle.

There's a torrent for Dinosaur Training in one of these threads. Starting Strength is on /rs/. If you can't gain muscle on those programs, you're doing it wrong.

Good luck.
