Sup /fit/

I'm 5'11, 282 lbs. I decided to stop being a lardass last week and started going to the gym. I completely cut soda out of my diet and drink only water. I also started eating with much more moderation than I previously had, eating nothing except at meal times. I know 5 smaller meals throughout the day is considered ideal, but it is an technical impossibility for me at this time.

Currently I'm only doing 30-45 minutes on the elliptical when I go to the gym. Do you guys recommend anything in addition to this? I'm not trying to build muscle, only lose weight. I'm planning on focusing on building muscle after I've lost weight.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Pic unrelated.

One of the best ways to lose weight is to build muscle. Muscle will burn more calories in order to sustain itself.

tl;dr build muscle, lose fat, fatty.

If you're goal is simply to lose weight, just make sure you go for as long as you possibly can each time. As you get better, go for longer, don't stop after 30 minutes if you can do 45 because you only "need" to do 30 minutes worth.

OP, listen to>>70936

When I started in college I began running daily (hell on the knees if you aren't used to it, worked through it though). Either way after about 3 months of very little loss I also began doing the line (machines, lol) and not only did I notice more loss but when I started running again I was noticeably better (j.e. I could run w/o having to walk every lap).

tl;dr build muscle+run=win
