Where can I buy dumbbells, /fit/? I borrowed a 20 pound dumbbell from a friend. At first it was really heavy, but I've been using it frequently, and it's now not nearly enough. I want to buy a 30 and a 35 pound dumbbell, but I don't know where.

Sporting goods store? Last one I checked didn't sell free weights. Where the fuck are you supposed to get this?

buy adjustable dumbbells that take plates. My barbell takes the same plates as my dumbbell, so I'll never reach a limit on what I can put on the dumbbell, and can use the smaller plates from the dumbbell on the barbell for smaller increments if I'm having trouble getting to the next proper plate.

This. You're going to be buying a loooot of dumbbells otherwise, and they only get more expensive as they get bigger.

Alright, yes, that's all well and good. But where can I find these? Like I said, I have no fucking idea where to actually locate this. I checked a couple sporting good stores, and they all told me that they don't stock them. Any ideas?

I saw two of these at Walmart. If they have them, I would think any sporting goods store would have the quality versions of them. Price was pretty reasonable.

I have been watching craigslist.org for someone to sell some weight plates used locally to me. Might want to try the same and see if someone local is trying to dump some. win/win situations are nice.
