Hey /fit/

I've always been fascinated by parkour, but I fear I may be too old to start learning now. I'm 18. There was a thread about it yesterday but sadly I missed it.

Not only that, i'd imagine its a great way to keep fit, express yourself, and let off some steam.

Anyone knowlegable?

I guess it's good if you want a good bodyweight/strength ratio/good vo2max.
It all depends on where you live in though.

16-18 is about the youngest that I personally think that anyone should be doing parkour, at least without personal guidance from an experienced traceur. There's just so much potential for injury when you're training by yourself or with people of a lesser/similar skill level and way too many kids make bad judgements and do stupid things or try to progress too fast and end up hurting themselves.

OP, you're fine. Do some outside conditioning - try to focus on anaerobic conditioning and bodyweight/plyometric exercises. When you do start training technique, remember to go slow. Don't go jumping off of buildings on your first day - it can take years before your technique is up to snuff and your joints are properly conditioned to sustain a fall like that.

My advice would be to do some serious Googling. The parkour community is largely online, and as such there are tons and tons of good online resources for you to use.
