More health than fitness... When I go to bed, I turn a floor fan on (see picture) and point the air directly onto me. (It's nearly impossible for me to sleep with out a fan directly on me.) My room mate, in his own bed on the other side of the room (4-5 feet away) gets a little of the wind from the fan and every morning after he wakes up he complains of of stuffy nose and a sore throat.

Why is he so affected by such little air circulation and I am completely fine and actually distressed if I don't have the fan on?

Your friend probably snores a lot and sleeps with his mouth open, drying out his nose and mouth. I know that sounds crazy but it used to happen to me as well...

Holy butt fucking nigger shit, I have the same problem with ceiling fans. Can't have much airflow in the room without getting all dried up overnight.

Ever since I've been purposefully drinking over 2L of water per day, though, it hasn't really been an issue.

Same with me otherwise I wake up in pools of sweat even in the winter I need to have the fan on.

I'm one of those people who need a fan. And I don't get a sore throat or a stuffy nose, but I do have a dry mouth, because I sometimes breathe through it instead of my nose while sleeping.

If your roommate is realllllly that bothered by it, tell him to cover his head with a blanket or something.

Thanks for the replies.

Its the dust that has collected on that fan over time.

Clean the blades/screen and you will be A.O.K

I am the roommate of the OP, I get cold very easy from just the air bouncing off of the walls from the fan and end up waking up every 30ish mins. if the fan is off I'm fine. I also can't stand the AC being on for a while as well because I get cold very fast. Unlike my roommate who can have it near 63ish degrees with a fan on and be completely fine. So... right now its either no fan and my roommate cant sleep and I can or its fan on and I wake up every 30 mins...

Fucking weirdoes... I can't stand the noise that a fan makes. I also revel in heat, so I'm always a little overheated at night, but I like it that way.

I hate fans.

The only way to solve your dilemma is to kill the OP.

If you kill him as>>153677recommends, use fire. That way you can stay warm as well. win/win

me too, i love sleeping with the window open during the winter

there's nothing in the world like being nice and warm under 3 blankets when the room is freezing cold

Kinesiologist here. I enjoy that too. Instead of three blankets, I simply snuggle with three large hairy men though.
