Hey /fit/.

I'm tired of being fat. I'v been fat my whole life and the only way to change this is by doing something about it.

And here's my problem. I know NOTHING about training. I'm going to start with swimming next week since I can't do much with my bad knee. But does someone here has some kind of advice of what I should think of so I could lose weight faster? Like what I should be eating. And can I find some kind of stretching guide somewhere?

Drink lots of water. Water will help fill your stomach and suppress eating urges. Also, eat many small meals throughout the day rather than a few large meals. This helps from overeating and also boosts your metabolism.

Thanks. That was good to know since I didn't do the eating thing right. I always eat two big meals every day.

What should the small meals contain of? I know what breakfast, lunch and dinner should be. Should I just eat 1-2 banans between those meals?

Eat lots of fish, which contain unsaturated fat unlike other meats (shrimp, fresh salmon/cod/halibut/(tuna is better than beef or chicken or pork but worse than other fish))
Snack on veggies as much as you can and still maintain a regular eating schedual.

I havent had fast food in two years, no soda, but i have had the occasional fun sized candy bar. Maybe once every three weeks or something.

I run on my elliptical machine for 45 minutes in the morning i take martial arts three times a week and I practice at home.

I mean, all my food consumption has been reduced . I use to have 4-5 bowls of rice and a shitload of serving of whatever is on the table and now I only have one bowl of rice and a bit of what is on the table.

Every morning I have a milkshake or yogurt. I had some almonds(about a handful) for a snack, lunch is either a vietnamese sandwich or sashimi(sp. When I get back home from school I run for 20 minutes then I have some more almonds and for dinner I have one bowl of rice and whatever viet/chinese stuff my dad makes.

Is there something I should do differently?
