sup /fit/ what are the negative consequences of fasting where you consume nothing but water for several days? I've heard people claim that it's good for cleansing your body but I don't believe them. I'll probably do it just for the hell of it but I want to know what I'm doing to myself.

You'll end up weak, really fucking weak. Your fat and most importantly muscle will be eaten up by your body for energy.
Also you will fuck up your metabolism which by which you will gain all the lost weight or more back after your water fast.

there are much better and safer ways for fasting. my father used to do fasting where he'd gradually ween himself off food for a short periods of time then slowly start eating. he was very into yoga stuff too. straight up stopping your calorie intake has consequences though.
