sup /fit/, today I joined the diving team at my highschool (inb4 underageb&, I'm 18) and while watching a few minutes of them practicing I've noticed that everyone has sixpack abs.

I don't have sixpack abs.

My first practice starts next tuesday, how can I change my predicament by then? I'm not tubby or anything, I just don't have very well defined abs.

Anything I can do to acheive at least a modest 2-pack in this timeframe?

I wouldn't sweat it too much. You'll probably develop them as a side effect of being on the team. I mean, there's a reason why they all have them.

OP here, I was also wondering, are crunches better or worse than conventional situps? I usually do a few crunches when I'm warming up at the gym since I "feel the burn" more with them, but I've heard that they aren't as effective for building muscle. Is this true?

no, they're just as effective at building muscle, less cardio.

well op yes it is possible to get a decent 2 pac in about 2 weeks just do about 500 crunches every 2 days or so, if you want everyday then sure but make sure you rest well.

I do sets of 50 crunches and i dont ever count how many sets, atleast 10 but anyway i went from tubby to glistening 2 pac within a 2 week time frame so you should do well. as other anon's have stated you will get a 6 pack by simply swimming since it is great excercise

The only way to get 6 pack abs in a week is to draw them on yer failgut like mariah carey. Even lipo takes longer when you add in recovery time and shit.

holy SHIT, i just did 50 of those with my knees bent and only lifting my ass up and down off the ground and FUCK did that tire me out, that's the most intense ab exercise i've ever done.

I don't know how the hell the guy in the video was doing it with his whole body straight, thats just fucking insane. I've found what exercise I'll be doing for the next couple of weeks, much thanks to you anon.

i have no idea, i know absolutely NOTHING about diving, i just met the coach today afterschool and watched them practice for about 15 minutes before leaving, i couldnt actually start practicing because i havent turned in my physical yet.

the only reason i joined the team is because 2 of my friends signed up on an impulse and they talked me into doing it with them. The way they described it, only 1 kid on the team is legitamately skilled, everyone else sucks and theres no real effort required during practice (jumping into the pool over and over for an hour every tuesday and thursday). Plus i wanted to get a letterman jacket.

But yeah, i just want a couple abs i can show off so its not too obvious that i'm extremely out of shape.
