Jerky is full of salt and MSG, even ones that say no added MSG (soy sauce is a natural MSG source).
Plus its expensive.

How healthy beef jerky is for you depends on what brand you get. The kind I get (Jack Link's Original) has about .5g fat, 3g carb, 15g protein and 590mg sodium per serving.

Yeah, all of them are sodium-rich. Also, it's not the cheapest protein available (~$.06/gram).

i eat a shit ton of turkey jerky, more because of the name than the taste or health

but really, the biggest problem is the sodium, and a serving size of jerky is a much smaller amount than most people are used to eating in one sitting
