Anyone know if p90x is any good? I saw the infomercial and started downloading the torrent, but would like to know if its worth it

Hear it works, but the thing is even minor changes will give you similar results.

You should never do the same routine for more than like 6 weeks or something, I say.
I think that's what the guide I'm following says too, which is why I say it. It even has you change your tempo, like 3 beat going up, no pause at top, 1 beat going down.. then changing it to 2 up, one beat pause, 1 down or something.

It is rather effective for losing weight apparently (if you don't follow it like it says, it won't work) and putting on some muscle. My brother is currently doing it with rather nice gains in muscle but especially fat loss.

I'm doing the regular Power90 for noobs and it works really well. After just 2 weeks my stomach is noticeably thinner. When you're done doing the workout you feel everything burning.

However, I wouldn't use it as your only source of exercise. When it stops snowing around here I'm going to start walking outside and lifting weights too.

I got 3 weeks into p90x and i couldn't keep it up anymore. i play sports regularly and so i'm not completely out of shape. but when they say 'bring it' they really mean 'bring it'. and the cardio routines like plyrometrics are crazy difficult to completely.
I've really been meaning to start it up again. within the 3 weeks i was already getting noticeable results.

my friend is pretty ripped and he said some of these work outs he can't finish because they get too difficult, i dunno if it was isometric or plyometric i don't fucking remember what he said, i've heard relatively good things about it in general though

P90x is a workout/nutrition program. It consists of a nutrition book and a companion book to go along with the 12? workout dvds. Essentially, you pop one of those suckers in the dvd player and follow along with it. It works suprisingly well but tbh if you arn't already pretty fit you're going to struggle (which is good and there are different ways to use the program described in the book for a more cardio base, the regular program, and one for people who are already in good shape).

Also, in regards to the OP getting more cardio at home: this shit assumes you're doing nothing else. There are a lot of workouts that are based on hypertrophy/muscular endurance that will leave you drained. You MAY have holes in the program (days where you're like "well wtf can I do now") if you workout in the gym and try to do this program.

P90x is sort of like the CrossFit system, but more directed at aesthetics than performance. Just get started with CrossFit, and your results will be better in the long run.

Is it worth the 7GB? Or is there better stuff to pirate?
>> noko
I would also like to know if it's worth it, although I may torrent it anyway just so I do have it. I'm also looking at CrossFit after it was mentioned, they both look good and they're both free (as in beer). I don't have a lot of equipment (pullup bar, a barbell..) so the cardio side of things is looking good whereas CrossFit likes its equipment.
