Hey /fit/.
So summer's here and I need a healthy way of transportation. It'll help burn some the remainder of fat thats keeping me from having a sweet six pack.

But I can't decide between a bike, like a ten speed or a longboard.

With the bike, I could get places faster and more efficiently, and probably be safer on the roads. And much much better for going up hills.

But with the longboard, which will probably be cheaper: its more convenient size wise, I can take it inside buildings and friends houses easier.

Which would I burn more calories with?
Also: I might be getting both eventually, but which first?

Hmmm, the choice is now obvious to me.

Bike, if you take care of it, it'll last longer than the board and you can potentially get more of a workout from it.
Bikes get stolen all the time so pay some visits to yard sales this weekend and look in the paper/craigslist. Get yourself a modest bike for a reasonable price.

and plus riding a board makes you look like a faggot

on that note, get a u-lock, and ALWAYS lock through the frame, don't be one of those retards that comes back to your bike an hour later with a lock and a front wheel (minus the rest of the bike) attatched to a fence.

I've had roughly 5 bikes stolen from me in my life, using progressively stronger locks (thicker cables, bigger locks, etc), and since I've switched to a $12 u-lock, I haven't had one stolen since.

Buy a fixed gear and call it a "fixie". Chicks will be calling you non stop for a chance to tug you.

Keep in mind that an avid Longboarding friend of mine actually has hip, knee and ankle problems from pushing off skateboards and longboards for years. Always pushing off on one leg will cause major problems in the long run. Also, it does terrible things for your cardiovascular ability since one leg is twice the power of the other.
