Ok....say I wanted to enlist in the Marines.
How in shape would I have to be?

To give you an example of how in shape I am NOT -
I can't do a single pushup, or pullup.
I can only do 10 situps at a time.
I am 300 lbs.
I can't run for more than 30 seconds.
I have like a BMI of 43.
I have no health problems other than the fact that I am a fat fuck....so if I was in shape I would be perfectly fine. Oh and i'm 19 years old.
You guys probrably get these threads all the time, but I rarely visit this board.
Thanks.

I just joined the Marines. Physically, it doesn't fucking matter how many situps or pullups you can do, they're going to get you into shape until you can do them. The only reason it's impossible for you to enlist right now is your weight. It depends on your height. I'm 6'1 and I know the weight restriction for that is like 140-230ish. If you go see a recruiter they're just going to tell you to come back when you're within the weight limit. If you do that you'll be put in a Delayed Entry Program most likely and have physical training with your recruiter about 3 times a week. I just got home a few minutes ago from pt, we played basketball for about 2 hours. Just lose the weight. I went from 220 to 199 in about 5 weeks when I decided I want to enlist. Good luck.

A lot of marine recruiters will work out with potential recruits/recruits in DEP on the weekends. When I was in the process of dropping from 295 to 200 they were trying real hard to get me to show up. I ended up going in the chair force instead though.

Atkin's diet is for you, fatty. Throw in some exercise and you'll lose that weight quickly.

TBH you shouldn't consider joining unless you can run 5+ miles nonsto, do 15-20+ pullups and do 100+ crunches in 2 minutes with ease 4-6 days a week. My suggestions are a bit steep and you can probably manage to squeak through performing worse than that, but the closer you get to matching that level of fitness the better off you'll be in the long run.

Maybe you shouldn't go to Marines if you are heavy as an fridge with no muscular and cardiovascular endurance?

Sit down, watch Full Metal Jacket and think again.
