So does anyone in /fit/ have ADHD? Or have had it in their youth? I'm 19 and I've been coming to the realization that I most likely have it, and at a very extreme degree too (I can't sit still for more than three minutes, I have to run back and forth, back and forth...).

I've always done really well in school, so no one thought I had any problems. I'm college now though and I manage, but I think I could do a lot better if I could focus more and not get distracted and start running around all the time.

But like I said, I'm 19, so would starting any kind of medication be pointless?

Also, I'm really fucking skinny and I think part of it is because I'm always running around. I don't want to suddenly gain a lot of weight if I take medicine. D: I dunno if that'll happen, though.

yeah dude don't do any meds. you don't need it. i'm there with you with the bad adhd, and so were some of my friends. they took meds, my parents didn't do shit for me, giving me medication or anything. meds for adhd don't halp worth shit. they just fuck you up.

Really? I heard a lot of people who don't even have ADHD take the meds so they can focus better...

I don't want it to like ~CHANGE WHO I AM~ or something. Would it be safe to just try it out or is really that bad? D:

Well you should exercise a bit, do some push up, sit ups (about 20 to 30). That works for me when I lose my concentration during my studies.

Don't take any medication unless it is affecting your work/studies. Some cases can be solved by having an increased active lifestyle.

The medication prescribed for ADHD do work (most of the time) however, the side effects (if your taking it at a young age) isn't worth it. I think the medication I took (which was Ritalin) disrupts your growth if taken at a young age. Up to now there are more severe side effects if you take Ritalin.

Haha, I hate exercise, but you're probably right. When I took sports in high school, I remember it kind of kept me more organized for some reason.

I do well in my studies thus far, but I can't really pay attention during lectures or read boring textbooks too well. I'm kind of just relying on my natural intelligence, I guess, but I'm getting into harder and harder classes, so I don't think my bullshit will work anymore.

I'm also into writing and drawing and other creative shit, and I feel like I'd be able to get more writing done if I didn't get distracted or hyper all the time.

Are there any different weird side effects if you take them at a later age?
