Hey /fit/

I need to add weight to my SQUATZ. I've done some bodyweight SQUATZ for a while and while they were awesome it's time for some weight. However, I don't have access to a squat rack. What can I use as weight?

SQUATZ help appreciated. Also to people that are newbies at /fit/ness: MOAR SQUATZ

do overhead squats with a brick/weight/ a cow/the planet over your head.

I don't get how people can gain anything from bodyweight squats...

If you have access to a barbell, and not a squat rack, you can do Hack Squats.

I'm going to assume this is bullshit though.

who the niggers does hack squats? just be a man and put that fucker on your back. putting the bar down is something to worry about when you're done squatting.

Half-Deadlift and Half-Squat?

Nothing is sexier than the Hack Squat, jiggaboo.

Nah, it's not bullshit. I've mostly been doing deadlifts but I want to do decent squats rather than just bodyweight. Thanks for the information, anyway.

All I can do is hack squatz, since I have tendinitis in one of my shoulders. You can still achieve the same hip, knee level with them, except it also has some effect of a deadlift I think, since you have to continually pick it off the ground.. eh.

To OP>

You can use dumbbells too. But its only effective up to I'd say... 150-200lbs of extra weight? After that, you start having trouble holding the dumbbells in your arms.

Heavy sandbag. Easier to front squat with it but can shift it onto the back but thats a lot more strain than using a barbell.

Clean the weight up and do front squats.

This.

For reps, I can clean enough for a decent set of front squats, but it definitely is a comprimise, especially since my legs are disproportionately stronger than the rest of me.

so much better than nothing, though.

also - nightmare mode: snatch the weight up and do overhead squats

Just keep working at it OP!

In Fitness class in high school, I was lucky enough to be able to start right at 250LB NO PROBLEM! By the end of the year I was squatting almost double that! My teacher was impressed at how quickly I jumped up weight!
