Can't believe I just read all of this and then just gave a huge rats ass in actually giving usefull input even though I think I can.
Now don't quote me on all of this, but to my knowledge, it's all true: If you wanna cut without losing muscle, the most important thing is to not overcut, and to keep doing resistance training and eating correctly. Now this is pretty obvious, really, but as to how much you should eat:
As far as I know, your body is able to burn roughly 30 kalories of fat for every pound of fat you've got on your body. So if you got 20 pounds of fat, you can sustain a 600 calorie deficit / day before it starts burning muscle, so long as you get enough proteins and resistance training done. Supplement with some cardio aswell, and (I think) try to do cardio in the morning.
