I can see how you think you look great, because now you've started working out you're taking pride in your body and every aspect of it excites you, but you really shouldn't go around like this. Own personal progress, maybe. Showing off, no. You've made some progress but as you're just starting out you should focus on some other areas than chest + arms, or you're going to look silly.

REALLY work on your back. It contains more muscle than your front side and can change the way you look completely. Get those traps and lats going. You'll probably find it fun too, and when you reach your goal you'll look fantastic.

Work on your deltoids as well, maybe give them their own day. I assume you're doing it purely for aesthetics, which is fine, but you really need to pay more attention to your back IMO.

Gratz anyway, and I'm glad working out has had such an impact on your self esteem + body.

Not the person you were replying to.
>REALLY work on your back. It contains more muscle than your front side and can change the way you look completely.

Please elaborate. I've never heard this and want to learn.

I know i still look skinny. But i mean i'm proud of myself. Gaining muscle is a travel and i'm enjoying to see how i'm progressing. I'm still doing that 5x5 Stronglifts everyone talks about.

Are you foreign? The word you were looking for is journey.

Honestly, you'll never hear this from /fit/ again, but don't do stronglifts 5x5 for size. It's great for beginners looking to up their strength + general development, but if you want size then look at a more high rep program. You don't need big weights for size, just great form and a big pump.

The back is a huge group of muscles. I'm sure you know that, but it does change your shape totally. Lats will make you wider and make your stomach seem smaller, impacting on how your midsection looks, and traps are going to give you stronger looking shoulders. Without a good back you can have all the muscle in the world elsewhere but you still wont look good. Plus we all know a back looks awesome when flexed.

OK. Thank you. My back is now a priority as well as my core. Pull ups are good if someone isn't looking to ever lift a weight? I'm just making mild lifestyle change. INB4RAGE

Pullups are fantastic for your back. Especially lats. Like I said, as long as you can still get a good pump from them you never need to add weights unless you're looking for strength development. You can also do one armed ones when you get good enough, etc. Not sure if they're great for traps though, but I'm sure you'll get some sort of development.

What's good for LOWER back?

Deadlifts. Accept no substitute.

Supermans, lifting heavy shit deadlift style.. you're still talking without weights right? I'm not sure on too many lower back things without weights. I do deadlifts and other weighted stuff personally.
