You have three choices. Continuing to do the push-ups on your palms, doing them on your knuckles or buying that junk. You say you'd rather not do them on your knuckles but you say that doing them on your palms is KILLING you. That sounds like that if there was no third choice, you would start doing them on your knuckles. So, about the third choice. You're not sure if that junk would actually help your wrist problem, which is why you're asking. Also, it would cost money. Changing onto your knuckles would not. Changing onto your knuckles would without a doubt not damage your wrists, in fact it would make them stronger, due to the position allowing slight movement which then causes you to work the balancing muscles. It will hurt for a while but the pain will only lessen over time UNLIKE WHEN YOU DO IT ON YOUR PALMS. Also, it's much more badass.
I think the choice you will make is obvious here. You're just looking for a way out of doing the push-ups on your knuckles. Now, is that a good attitude to have about your fitness: avoiding an inevitable pain that, when overcome, will lead to improvement?
No pain, no gain, man, that's how it is.
