Picture kinda related.

I'm a slob. I haven't exercised (at least recreationally) a minute in my entire life. I'm 5'10 and 180 pounds.

I want to look "fit" but not necessarily buffed up like hardcore weight lifters. Something along the lines of Ong-Bak's physique, thin but workable.

Should I avoid lifting heavy weights, and concentrate mostly on cardio? What is the best form of cardio? I have access to a pool, bike (both exercise and actual), and a track so run laps on. How much cardio should I do?

Ideally, I'd like to make this workout regime long period (maybe a year), but I want to start seeing results in the next couple of months.

Where should I start, /fit/?

Where the fuck do you get the idea that Tony Jaa isn't ripped to shit? You think he got a body like that by "concentrating mainly on cardio and not lifting heavy weights."

I really hope you're fucking trolling, cause if not, you are so fucking far off the mark that I can't even find it in myself to laugh at you.

Stick to cardio. I lifted weights and became too big. I barely even noticed how big I was getting until my girlfriend dumped me because she thought my muscles were gross. Now love is over, and I have nothing left to live for.

Lift weights one day
Do cardio the other

repeat for 5 days a week until you are happy with your body, never lift weights 2 days in a row. Also, consider protein supplements.

1.) I doubt that story. In reality you are a neckbeard faggot who's definition of "getting big" means getting more and more overweight.

2.) If your story is true, that's your own fault for finding a girlfriend that so happens to be in the 1% of women who hate men who are fit and healthy, and at the same time, a woman who is completely shallow.

maybe, but you will burn more calories by running while carrying muscle and eating better. stay away from sugar and carbs to lose belly fat. really, you should do some strength training to prevent injury too as well as up your metabolism

I'm Asian so I need to find a replacement for rice.

hahaha I love it when people say shit like this. Like they're gonna cruise straight past "fit" and hit ronnie coleman mode overnight.

Asian's eat rice all the time and they don't get fat. I think it has to do with amount of exerted energy and balanced diet. While brown rice is better for you, I think people who eat white rice just need to exercise more.

In terms of the kind of exercise that will get you to look like Tony Ja, well that's going to take some time. I'm no where near that but I can tell he does a lot of rigorous training i.e martial arts, strength training and acrobatics.

I'm in no position to tell you how to look like Tony Ja but I think with a lot of cardio and possibly a side hobby(some kind of martial arts or activity that exerts a lot of energy) will get you to some where decent shape over time. Good luck.

There is a lot of misconception about the Asian diet. They don't eat as much rice as you think and they definitely don't eat as much tofu as the world thinks.

Most of their calories come from vegetables, fish, and chicken, then rice and tofu and stuff.

Well, at least for me, I prefer to equal the amount of rice I eat to how salty the rest of the food is. So if I'm eating something really salty, I eat a lot more rice than with something that's bland.
