sup /fit/

what sort of diet and regime would an 5'10", 300Ibs, male, have to follow, to get down to 180-190Ibs within around 8 months. if that's at all possible.

100+ pounds in under a year is probably not a good idea.

to loose 120 pounds in 8 months you would have to loose 15 pounds a month. That is a pound every two days.

I think a healthy target is a pound or two a week. Maybe a little more starting out.
>> Anonymous
You'd have to lose around 4Ibs per week, every week. Basically, eat 1000 calories per day, and no less than 2 hours of cardio.

well it can be anything from losing a ton of muscle from not having enough nourishment to having tons of lose skin from losing more weight than your body can adjust to (that will require expensive surgery to get rid of that wont be covered by insurance)

but you could potentially fuck your body up from depriving yourself of nuutrients for so long. this can be problems with your metabolism, your immune system, your joints...dude, it's just not good to lose that much weight in such little time. just aim for 2-3 pounds a week AT MOST. youll be better off in the long run

if you have any spevific questions about what i posted, just ask and i can go into more detail. but yeah dude, just to reiterate: eat well and take your time. it's a life style change.

According to thedailyplate.com, a "Lightly Active (Seated and standing activities, e.g. computer use)" 5'10", 300Ibs person would have to eat 1500calories per day to lose 4Ibs per week, but obviously that would change, as the more weight you lose, your calorie maintenance will become lower. But that's without taking exercise into account at all.

OP, no carbs, Do HIIT 3 times a week. You should start shaving off 3 lbs a week BUT YOU GOTTA DO HIIT RIGHT FOR IT TO WORK. Seriously, if your not on the verge of blacking out, vomiting, becoming nauseous, or collapsing you did it wrong. When it says you must push yourself to the hardest of your ability YOU PUSH YOURSELF. Nothing more i can say except i lose like 20 lbs in a 2 month span or 30 lbs something like that. Also dont weigh yourself everyday do it like every week or month.

HES 300 FUCKING POUNDS AND YOU'RE TELLING TO TO DO HIIT?
>> Anonymous
>>456397
your mother probably didnt do weight training and lost it all very very quickly. OP will most likely have loose skin for the rest of his life but if he loses weight slowly he will not have much. i lost 100 pounds and it took me 18 months and while i still have a little pouch on my midsection that will never go away, i know it could have been much worse.

>>456399

Fuck it then, OP go start jogging for 60 minutes, when you can't breathe walk to catch your breath then when you can go jog again. Repeat until the 60 minutes are over and do this everyday except sunday.

Fuck you I know what its like, and I know OP can do it he's just pussying himself out, I dropped fucking 100 lbs from 270 and bulked it back up and I know how fucking hard it is. If he can't even try and push himself then he'll never keep up the regiment for 8 months straight and you know it.
>> Anonymous
>>456434
lol yea thats it

its not like hes going to push himself to hard by doing hiit and get burnt out or injured lol

You know, i'm not even gonna bother because your not even helping OP's cause. Infact If I didn't even know better you could be OP giving yourself an excuse not to push yourself. But if your not OP, then fuck off and provide a better routine for him.

fruits = carbs. veggies = no carbs.

eat an atkins diet: i.e. water, meat, veggies, nuts, period.

no sugar, no fruit, no soda

then walk, bike, or run. everyday. whatever, so long as you can do it again tomorrow without pain and injuries.

8 months is impossible without liposuction. and even at that, if you CAN lose that much weight in that little time, you're going to have skin flaps from hell. take it from me OP, go slow. The world isn't going anywhere.

two years ago when i was a senior in highschool, i was coming off of a meniscus tear in my knee, and i went from being 180 in may (my jounior year) to 205 at the start of my senior year. i am about 5"8 maybe 5"9. when i saw that big 200 i decided that i need to lose weight. what i did was i stopped eating all fast food except subway (i became jared) i only ate either the cold cut turky, or the chicken teryaki, the only kind of sauce i used was the sweet onion sauce, which has no fat. also no cheese. i also stopped drinking regular soda, switched to diet, even though its not that good. i did workout a little, but after one year i dropped to 170. i kept this up for another year, but i worked out alot more, mostly ran and went swimming at my gym. i am now hovering around the 150 mark (may go down to 147 and may go up to 154) i took before and after pics...and i am very proud of my self. i look like a new person. when i see people havent seen since i graduated highschool, they all go crazy about how much weight i lost. to sum it all up....it took me 2 years to lose 50 or so pounds. went from a 37-36 waist to a 32-31. it takes TIME to lose weight. and you must have the mind set, and can not give up and give into temptations. i still havent fallin into the temptation of eating mcds...2 years and going

whatever you decide to do to lose weight, i wish you good luck. and do not give up, no matter what happens.

Hey /fit/

If you spend one hour on a recumbent stationary bike, and the calories burned readout says 516, how accurate is that likely to be?

(pic unrelated)

I'm guessing that's just the calories on average, the average weight, average height, male, would have burned, but I'm not too sure. (I'm 300Ibs, btw).

I lost 25 lbs in 28 days. 225 -> 200.
Worst fucking time of my life for body comp.

Low carbs, 5 hour hikes + hikes with 35lb backpack. Bags of nuts and fruit for hike calories. Meat, bread, cheese, milk for meals.

Calorie deficiet via hiking was culprit.

Would recommend.

I have dieted 7 lbs per month easily. 205 -> 180; 15lbs, 2 months. Simple calorie restriction. Multi-small meals. No exercise. "Eat to the point of being `not hungry'".

I would question the judgement of someone deliberately aiming at 120 lbs/8 months. It's possible though.
Suggest you take progress pics for motivation--you'll need it.
