hey /fit/

I've only been working out for 3 months and have stuck to mostly machines for my legs, but have finally tried barbell SQUATZ yesterday. The weight was surprisingly weak compared to the progress I had made on the machines. I could only do 120lbs for 3 sets of 10 and my legs are more sore than they have ever been.

Whatever thats fine, but my shoulders and below the back of my neck felt really bruised afterwards and even today. It's not so bad, but whenever I apply pressure to them it hurts a good bit. They are fine throughout the day though. Is this normal for someone first starting da squatz? I'm worried about possible bad form and whether or not this will clear up in the next 2 days so I can do moar.

I was in about the same boat a few weeks ago.

I'm not very sore or not sore at all after. In the legs or the neck/shoulders area.

Add deadlifts as well and you will really be busting your ass.

Also, do 5x5 not 3x10

I should add I'm not sore ANYMORE.

Took about 1 week. Now I feel like a raging badass after squatz instead of a cripple.

my shoulders/upper back stayed bruised for the first two weeks or so after starting stronglifts

i lifted through it and everything toughened up

OPs pic is really bad diagram. the feet are too close together and only enormous powerlifters who have lost range of motion grip the bar that wide
