What's the limit? 50 grams?

I worked out on tuesday and started the Ketogenic diet yesterday but I'm still very sore. I need to carb load tomorrow 'till sunday to replenish my glycogen stores. Will Carb loading early in the Ketogenic game throw back my progress to reach ketonic status?

1600 calorie diet is about 140-170 grams of carbs daily.
It should make up 50% of your diet.
Not including sugar, mind you.
Sugar in fruits are okay, refined, not so much.
Go for under 30grams of sugar per day.

For keto, you should stay under 40g a day, at least until you're clearly into ketosis. Then you can test your tolerance. It can go from 20g to 70g depending on the person.

That 40g should be pretty much all fibre heavy foods - green, leafy veggies in other words.

use ketostix to test whether you've exceeded.

I doubt you're even in ketosis yet. 2 days is the avg.

Yes. You're not meant to carb load until at least a week in. Ideally 2.

I haven't read any of the other posts, but I generally use <30g of carbs as a guideline. Some say 5% of caloric intake from carbs, others go by a number-- some up to 50. But usually its 20-30g max... I aim for about 10-15g of carbs.

Read up on targeted ketogenic diets (TKD). You can have a small amount of carbs immediately post-workout which goes straight to your muscles.
