I've never tried it but it's a methed some use to quicken the metabolism even more.

You eat lower number of calories for half a week consecutively then eat a really high number for next couple days. I think it's 40% less or 40% more from your BMR+activities.

Sounds like an IF (intermittent fasting) variation. I think in all of these the idea is that laying off of a full food load for a part of the day/week lets your body recover from the ravages of its own metabolism. Fuck man, your cells are like little nuclear powerhouses spitting out all kinds of free radicals and inflammatory byproducts every time you digest food.
