Ok /fit/, it's high time I changed myself.

Currently, I'm 22. I stand 6'2" tall and weigh...(a depressing) 330lbs. I want to lose at least 170lbs in the next 3 years. I am going to cut soda from my diet, and I will soon be on medication for my underactive thyroid. What exercises will best help me to lose the fat?

Have your friends there beat the snot out of you until you're motivated enough to do whatever it takes to get revenge.
Alternatively, build muscle until you can do at least one pull-up, encourage your friends to strap on weight until they weigh as much as you and can do a pull-up. Call them pussies.
You are now motivated to get into shape.

I only mention it because it's a current goal of mine. I'm in reasonable shape, but I have a friend who weighs 250 lbs who can't do a pull-up. Our group of friends are working out so we can do a pull up with his current bodyweight, which for me means strapping on an additional 100 lbs.
The kicker is, he started working out recently too, so he's raising the bar (so to speak) in the challenge. If we don't get in kick-ass shape soon, he'll be calling us pussies.
Needless to say, it's been very motivating having some competition.

start lifting weights with the cardio when you're around 220-240 lbs

I did a "fitness" after school activity to stay in shape for lacrosse. The key if you are going to try to start running to actually lose weight and gain muscle instead of losing both by not exercising, its much better to do small jogs at first and work your way up in distance, if you're up to it.If you pull through and stick to the routine, then you will be in amazing shape, but in your case its gonna take a long time
