I have been doing pushups for about 6 months now but I dont seem to make any progress.
I do 5 x 16/18 pushups about 4 to 6 times a week and at the end of every set I really cant do another one. I do keep form and touch the ground with my chest.

am I doing something wrong or?

What is your progress OP? Visual or reps? If you want to do more reps then just do a set on the hour for 15. If you want to get more muscle activation then do more reps and less set in a workout like 3x25 or start doing clapping/plyo pushups instead. You don't have to have full range of motion for clapping pushups, especially not for stimulating muscles but you will want to throw in some parallel bar dips or wider pushups and stretch. You can start doing bend and thrusts with pushups. You put your hands on the ground, kick your feet out, do a pushup or two, pull your feet back in and stand up. Burpees are like these not the other way around, no one does burpees right anyways because no one can full squat. Anywho OP, along with that you can start doing handstand holds against the wall, check out the beastskills website some time. Good Luck! Eat food! Lots of Food!

I'm in the middle of the 100 pushup challenge. After 4 weeks I can definitely do more pushups than I could when I started. Nearly twice as many. Don't know if I'll be able to do 100 consecutive by the end of the six weeks, but... feels good man.

It's very hard to believe that OP has not been able to increase the number of consecutive pushups they can do in six months of regular training. Check out the 100 pushups site. See if they're suggesting anything different from what you're doing. I'd also suggest investigating how you're doing pushups and make sure your form is correct. Make sure you're not doing triceps pushups, or diamond pushups, or diverbombers, or handstand pushups or something else crazy.

I think something you are all forgetting about a pushup is the effectiveness depends on the weight of the guy doing them. I'm 220lbs and mostly fat, push ups are quite a work out for me. But if you're some skinny as hell guy they probably don't do much.

Im male, 194 cm, (6 ft 5.6?) and weigh 85kg (187 lbs?)
I do my reps fairly fast I think, about 3 sec for up and down. I do them because I feel like it, I dont want to be xbox hueg.

added a pic from a few months ago, yes I know the quality sucks, shit angle etcetc but it should give you an idea of what I look like.
