So I'm looking around at diets, right? And this there are people claiming that protein cannot be stored as fat.

I smell bullshit so I look it up even more ... turns out excess protein is converted to glucose and fat.

What I cannot find however is the answer to this question: HOW MUCH of the excess protein is converted? Surely the conversion process isn't 100% right?

Any answers are appreciated. How much of the protein becomes stored? 25%? 50%? 75%?

Picture not related, but funny.

Well yeah. I've read all about that and how excess protein can be dangerous.

It's more curiosity than anything else that has me asking the question.

No the "storable" parts of protein needs to be stripped out so the protein loses mass. You will gain more weight by carbs.

The metabolism needed for this also uses up energy so it's definitely below 100% storage rate.

How much it really is though I can't tell... there are many different proteins out there.

Do note that excessive protein intake leads to dehydration and loss of calcium.
