How important is it to work different parts of the body on different days. For example, I currently do a full body workout then have a complete day of rest. Would it be better to split the upper body and lower body on different days, so instead of a day of rest I am working the part that I didn't do the day before?

I used to do the same thing a while back, and whilst you do progress, it's better to do full body workouts for endurance and maintaining really.
