So /fit/ what kind of training would you need to be able to do this? It would be nice to just randomly pull that off on the street and get everyone to go WTF.

Farmers walk, military presses, bench presses, ab exercises

work your lower back, shoulders, and abs (particularly the obliques)

the only way to start doing stuff like that is to practice. The key is to have enough control in your lower body to hold yourself up. You also need to pull with the arm on top,a nd push with the arm on the bottom.

Number one thing would be to try to do it as often as you can.

It's like walking on your hands, you can press heavy weights over your head all day and not be able to do a hand stand.

lots of advice from people who don't know WTF they're talking about.

Go learn some gymnastics progressions, particularly planches. It will take you a few years to get to that level unless you're already freakishly strong. It's mostly core strength that's needed.

Go to www.Beastskills.com and work your way through the different skills.

Start out with the easier to learn things like the L-sit and the Handstand. Combine regular training of these skills with a regular lifting schedule and in a year or two you'll be able to flag easy.

Primary lifts: Overhead pressing
Supplementary lifts: Vertical pulling
Assistance: Midsection work - lots of oblique work etc.
Also simply practising the skill - have a friend assist you by holding up your legs whilst you support yourself as much as possible - perhaps rig up some stretch bands.. also remember leverages - wider grip is easier and straight legs are harder....
