Hey /fit/
I was thinking about going on a one week juice diet with cardio to kick off my getting back into weight loss. Then I'd be taking back up my regular schedule of weights and cardio and a low calorie diet. good idea/bad idea? I don't plan on starving myself, I'll have access to plenty of juices as i work in a resturant.

Bad idea.
None of that detox/juice diet shit works. I love how they say that you should start off your fitness program by ingesting some absurdly low number of calories via juice and lemon-water and let your metabolism crash for a week.

I don't know what your fitness goals are, so I can't really give you any specific advice as far as dieting goes, other than be smart about it.

uhhhmm, I'm not considering an extreamley low caloric intake, like i said, lot's of juice. didn't know if it might offset cravings for the rest of the diet

as in natural fruit juices with not addictives or juices loaded with sugar and HCFS?

TBH don't. Any diet that relies on something super-specialized like juice or cabbage is almost certainly a scam. A juice diet will fuck your performance STUPID in the gym.

If you're a going to cut something carbs are in many ways the logical choice and there are plenty of good low-carb diets out there that have decent results without being completely crazy. Done right you can get enough protien, fat and the occasional carbs to perform well and cut body fat at the same time. I'd have a look at South Beach, Timed carb diets and the like.

oh, and Epic win for DIO reference.
