OK, here's the beef, /fit/. Due to my youth more or less being perfectly summed up as "boring-ass shit and LAN nights on CS/WoW Beta with skinny/pudgy weaklings", my training has been unfocused, at best, from day one . Rather than following any set plan I just struck out at random for years with whatever felt the best, which proved to be countless repititions with light-to-mid heavy weights and maxing it like a retard on stationary machines.

The result of this is that I've grown quite a bit (31inch thighs, 19 biceps, 14 forearms etc, etc) and that I've got a buttload of raw muscle endurance, but as I see it, I've got jackshit for strength, and I've put off my real interest in training for waaay too long: "Fighting power". Thusly, I'm going to join a very nice martial arts gym in a few weeks, focused on Muay Thai/MMA, and I'd like to know what I am to expect(except continuous beatings) and just what I can do to hit/kick harder/faster/better and generally just hear some tips from resident martial artists/street fightan dudes here among the /fit/fucks.

tl:dr fatty bumbum wanna be mas oyama, teach him how.

I split my training every week. One week is for sparring and repeating new shit in the gym, we do alot of cardio stuffz jumprope and jumping in between tyres, bagwork etc. The next week, I lift for the first three days and for the rest of the week I do bagwork and practice whatever I want. That's basically what all of us do. Lack of kettlebells imo.

Sounds nice. How long have you been fighting in whatever it is you're doing?

If you wanna hit fast you have to relax and "tense" at the last moment to have a proper impact.
