Fucking hell I love oats. I bought a bad of oatz for 2 euros ($3) and it should last me for a month.

Are there any other healthy foods I can buy this cheap? Because if every meal was that cheap, it would bring my food budget from 8 euros a day to 8 euros a week. :O

What cheap and healthy foods do you eat every day /fit/?

HE'S NOT FAT, AND HE'S NOT A BODY BUILDER YOU FAGGOT. JESUS CHRIST /fit/ WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU. IIT'S LIKE YOU'RE ALL BODYBUILDERS THAT ENDED UP IN SOME HORRIBLE ACCIDENT THAT LEAVES YOU MENTALLY RETARDED IN A WAY THAT YOU CAN ONLY THINK SOMEONE WANTS TO LOSE WEIGHT, OR BUILD MUSCLE. THIS IS A HEALTH BOARD TOO, AND A FITNESS BOARD. IT'S NOT /bod/. GOD DAMMIT.

ok bro thanks for that great advice.

I already know how to diet and lose weight, what I was wondering was what cheap healthy alternatives are their to the healthy food I'm already eating.

So i've got the breakfast sorted, cheap healthy oatz.
Is there a cheaper alternative to hicken breasts and tins of pink salmon? Like even cutting meat some days and eating beans or something
Plus I eat a lot of wholegrain bread, is there a better alternative?

Buy flour and make your own bread is probably cheaper.

no thats too much effort. im looking for a cheaper alternative of protein than chicken, not a cheaper version of chicken rtc.

Good ole protein shakes brah. None of that crazy shit with supplements. A tub will make many shakes.

cool, im looking into it, but are protein shakes more for gining muscle? Im trying to lose fat at the moment.

You need protein regardless of you're doing. It's not like adding a protein shake will make you big. Also look into HIIT, after you get a little comfortable with running.

Usual responses: Canned tuna mainly. Eggs or peanut butter if you want other sources, but I'm not sure whether they actually are more cost-effective. I understand there is some sort of supergrain called quinoa. I've never tried it though, and don't know how much it costs. That's most of what I know.

lentils are really good. (seriously, make a soup, use chilli coriander etc) Good protein, cheap, farts become a reliable biofuel.

By oats do you mean oatmeal?

To be honest, a shitload of turkey breasts are cheaper than whey protein by price per gram.

OP here, just back from shopping. I found a few good deals, 1kg of oatz for 96c,that's my breakfast sorted for a month, 400 grams of pink salmon for 2 euro (only problem here is it's 4 portions, will that last 4 days in the fridge?) and healthy tinned soup for 1.22euros each.
So I have my daily food budget down to about 5-6 euros now, down from 8. The only other expensive thing is the chicken, it's 2.50 for a chicken breast, any thoughts here fitizens? Could I switch to legumes or beans instead of chicken?

yeah oatmeal, you know, the add water and microwave stuff.mmm.

lentils are great, but they make me fart nuclear bombs.

Let's see. Here are some prices for m, not sure how they correlate where you are.

1kg of fresh boneless chicken breast is about £9 and provided 450g of protein.

1kg of turkey breast is about £7 and provides about the same amount of protein.

1kg of chick peas is about £2 and provides about 80g of protein.

1kg of whey protein is about £20 and provides about 800g of protein.

With that in mind, the turkey is the best option as you are getting the most protein for the price, roughly 1350g for £20 versus the whey's 800g for £20.

I don't much care for tuna, but I imagine it becomes even more cost effective.

Meat protein is the way to go, chicken, tuna, turkey, beef.

I doubt whey even works, just a gimmick

I don't know where in the EU you are but in Finland you can get honey-marinated chicken thigh-legs for 2,30€/kg. They come in packages of three legs. I usually by two packages, cook them, remove trash, and cut the meat up a little (simply for eating comfort) and then mix it up it with either pasta or rice and some cooked vegetables. I make enough for five days' suppers. For breakfast I eat oats with a banana. Usually before my supper I'll eat an orange (1,70€/kg) or an apple (1,60€kg) and some cabbage (0,70€/kg). When I get hungry or know that soon I will be hungryI'll just have some oats. I eat my oats with milk and some sugar. In the evening I fry an egg on some bread that I made and eat it with ketchup. The only flavoring ingredients I use are ketchup, salt and sugar.

Last month I used 60€ on food.

whey protein has a BV of 100%, meaning it get's fully absorbed into the blood stream. Once the body gets enough protein, all extra will exit through the peepee hole

at my grocery store i can get a bag of 8 frozen chicken breasts for $10
