How far are you guys in the 100 pushups?

I just started, am at Week 1, Day 2.

Already failed the last level at Day 2.

Will keep trying though and repeat the week until I get stronger. :)

week 2 day 1 tomorrow
>> Anonymous
Anyone here actually completed this program?
>> Anonymous
I seem to have hit a bit of a platue with week 3-4 level 2. I think I had put myself on too high of a level (just barely did the number of pushups to get to level 3) for week 3, so I have downgraded myself to level 2. If I was progressing well enough I would be near finished with the program by now.

Congrats. You win the prize.

I bench 225 regularly, so this shit is too easy.

another beer?
>> Anonymous
>>256203
Bench is not pushups.
>> Anonymous
If you can bench 225lbs 10-12 times, then 100 push-ups is no problem you fat fuck.
>> Anonymous
6ft 216

and I did 38 for my initial test...I'm going to go and do 100 for the first day
>> Anonymous
>>256209
No no. The point is to reach 100 pushups not broken into sets.
>> Anonymous
>>256208
Muscular strength does not equal muscular endurance. If that were true sprinters would run marathons for fun.
>> Anonymous
>>256213

I know..but I want to see if I can do 100 pushups in sets
>> Anonymous
>>256215
Oh I see. Well be sure the first and last set are your largest.
>> Anonymous
>>256215
If you cant you fail at life. If you can do 38 in a row now, then 4 sets of 25 shouldnt be that hard.
>> Anonymous
>>256214
Sure it does. The only thing holding the sprinter back is their cardiovascular strength.
>> Anonymous
Are you supposed to start day 1 right after the initial test?
>> Anonymous
>>256224
What? You just said that what i said was wrong because he doesnt have enough cardiovascular strength... which is the same as muscular endurance.
>> Anonymous
I can do this all god damn day long. All of you people are fat bitches who fail at life.
>> Anonymous
>>256240
Being able to bench a lot, and being able to do that many pushups aren't related to cardiovascular endurance. The bottleneck in both exercises are the sheer strength of the muscles. Your comparison was moot. I was able to do 100 pushups a year ago and have since moved to the bench. I can't bench that heavy, but even a year after stopping pushups completely, 100 today was a piece of cake.

week 1 day 2 tommorrow for me aswell, anyways, theres no way i will be doing as many as 57 for max in my 4th or w/e week that was Oo

im trying to speed things up a bit so im doing the mon/wed/fry for the hundred p-up program and in the rest days im just doing sets of max for example i max til failure then rest 5 minutes then max til failure then rest then max til failure etc. else i wouldtn be able to be done with 100 in a row after 6 weeks.
>> Anonymous
How are you supposed to fit this around a 3 day a week full body workout? Theres no way I could manage all those pushups after a heavy weight session and I'm not gonna do it on rest days
>> Anonymous
pushups dont do shit for me, i use the chest press machine at the gym alot and i get nothing outa it
>> Anonymous
Just started.. o.o got 17 on my 1st try XD

God damnit, can't start the program, wrist hurts and knuckle push-ups are even more painful.
>> Anonymous
I'm week 3 day 2 today, think it's quite the jump from week 2 to 3 though.

Your muscles need time to repair, if you whant to make them stronger.
>> Anonymous
just did week 1 day one and my shoulders hurt like a fuck lol.
>> Anonymous
How is someone that can do 1 on the initial test do 4 sets of 2 on the first day? They didn't stop to consider this.

I'm joining the military in about 6 weeks, and I would like to get up to atleast 100 pushups. I can do 40 right now in a straight shot without much of a problem, and usually another 25 after a 60 second rest. I'm doing a little weight training, but, I can't seem to break away from my current routine. Should I ditch the weight lifting for this program just so I can get up to the 100 pushups? Or just keep lifting and working out my entire body?
>> Anonymous
>>257279
Well read about the history of the program. Use some discretion. I don't know if this thing is actually the best way to reach 100 pushups.

>> Anonymous
>>256246
and being able to bench a lot and do many pushups isn't very related either
>> Anonymous
i know they need time to repair, but what i saw when i looked thru week 2 and three was that i wont be able to do week 4 when i dont do alot of pushups between the rest day now, my initial test was 33 push ups, now i know that i could have gotten 35-37 anyways i dont want to be stuck on week 4 so thats why i do abuse the rest days now, and i wont be giving much to my muscles anyways, i can do 400 pushups with sets when i do them all day. :(
>> Anonymous
>>257313
>week 2 and three was that i wont be able to do week 4 when i dont do alot of pushups
I was able to do week 3-4 fine with rest days.
>> Anonymous
>>257316
well i had to do a max of 57 or something atleast. and i know for sure that i wont be able to do so without some practice now. i know its dumb, so forgive me. also i am not intending to do something besides jogging abs/lower back/squats in the rest days on week 4+

i mean should i fail week 4+ cuz i didnt have enough rest days at week 1-3 then i will just be able to do week 4 a second time, wont be a biggie but i will still have worked out a little harder. so i see its else a win - win situation or a fail - win situation.

So there's this for pushups and this (http://www.4mcd.usmc.mil/AOP/OSOHyattsville/Armstrong%20Pullup%20Program.htm) for pullups. Anyone know of something similar for situps?
>> Anonymous
I just started, and managed 20. Any problem with doing knuckle pushups? I find them easier, as I currently have a metal plate in my arm from an accident.
>> Anonymous
>>257740

H4X. And get moar metal plates.

28 first go, could have probably got more but I feel like shit atm.

Looks good, training to be a royal marine so I'm aiming for 50-60 in two minutes... But during this program I need to use altered more painful pressups -.-

Nope. I personally do knuckle pushups most of the time, as it's easy on the wrist.
