Alright /fit/, opinions are needed. Are these work-out programs you always see on infomercials worth it? I know that results are exaggerated, but it seems these would be better than hitting a gym all the time or just running on a track.

inb4 SQUATZ, lift more, etc. I know these wouldn't replace everything, just a better alternative to cardio, weight loss and toning.

tl;dr gym vs. infomercial work-out programs

They are good if you are a wimminz, great cardio and less boring than the eliptical and softer on the knees than running.
You could use them if you are a man, but never leave weight traning.

Tl;DR; Good cardio, don't replace weights

OP here: I am a wimminz.
And I know weights should still be a part of a good fitness program.

So how does this sound: programs like these to initially get into some better shape (while lifting), and then start adding HIIT and maybe jogging after I build stamina?

There are many ways of doing it.
I tell you this because I know two girls who use different actions.
One only relies on long cardio while the other is a heavy lifter.
They have the same type of body, but to be honest, I like the cardio girl most, something about cardio that makes women look good.
I've also seen this in expensive gyms, where models only do long aerobics and they look far better than any girl doing weights.

I know I'm going to get attacked, but that's my impression about how wimminz should train.

OP here:
Good to hear. I feel the same way as you do. I think you should do some weights to build strength but not focus solely on them. Cardio would definitely be the biggest part of my work-out.

And if programs like these provide a good cardio opportunity without being boring and repetitive, then hell yeah.
