hey there /fit looking to get back in shape, thing is i have bad ankles and cant walk long distances so i was looking to buy a bike. now my question is are there weight limits on bikes? i am currently 134kgs or like 295ish lbs

yes there are. Mavic race-wheels are ok till 100kg for example.
Shimano even less.
Better ask your vendor or inform yourself.

Please submit a picture of you on said bike when you do get one. Nothing funnier than a fatty trying to balance on a bike. If you want, go for a childs bike. It'll make it more comic.

Most city/hybrid bikes can accomodate pretty large people. You're going to need a big, sturdy bike with no suspension. And go with a steel frame.

a hybrid or touring bike will be the best.. but you may want to ask the people at the shop to switch the tires out for larger diameter ones. heavier load = you need more tire pressure, and on smaller tires that can get very uncomfortable.

Also, be prepared to get your wheels repaired every few months. It only costs $15-20, but unless you get a bike with nice handbuilt wheels, a spoke will break every now and then. It's not really big deal, though.
