I sought help for depression/anxiety/OCD earlier this year for the very first time. My GP prescribed Zoloft, and it did make a difference in my behavior and thoughts. But less than a week into it, I realized that I couldn't orgasm while masturbating. I'm a girl, and after the first week, I had lost all sexual sensation in my clitoral nerves and had absolutely no libido,. When I'd try to masturbate, touching my most sensitive spots was like touching my knee caps-- no reaction. I read up on Zoloft and SSRIs and stuff like the above video scared the fucking hell out of me.
I went back to my doctor and she encouraged me to stick with it and ignore the sexual sideffects (wtf?), but I demanded a different med.
She started me on Wellbutrin. It's effective for me as an anti-depressant/anti-anxiety medication and I've actually noticed and increase in my sexual sensitivity (and my libido SCHLICKSCHLICKSCHLICK).
I also chose to start therapy. I've been skeptical of it my entire life, but by God, it's really making a difference. And it's wonderful.
If you choose to continue taking Zoloft or any other SSRI, do take care to monitor yourself. Any changes in your body, waste, mood, skin, etc. should be brought to your doc's attention immediately.
