Hey /fit/,

So I have been reading a lot of eBooks and lots of information posted in the 7chan FAQ. I think I am pretty well set to get started with a building/toning workout routine, yet my Step-Father keep telling me everything I have learnt is wrong, and I should listen to his work mate who is a sport trainer..
Now, when you think about it, ZC is a lot more qualified to give information on the weightlifting aspect of this, as he knows what he is talking about.
So why exactly does my Step-Father tell me I am wrong and he is right?

as long as you squat you're golden

Just tell him: "Dad, ZC is the man of my life and would never lie to me."

I lol'd. But seriously, OP, ZC is a bodybuilder/fitness buff. The guy your step dad knows is a sports trainer. Completely different jobs. Does your step dad work out?

Yeah, my Step-Father does try to work out. He is a fatass, and thinks walking for 20 minutes a day makes him an expert on fitness. He also says I am an idiot for planning on doing compound lifting/HIIT.
All in all, he is a douche about it. I am going to follow the plan i have set out, and laugh at his fat ass in 2 months when I will have visible differences that are better than what he has done in over a year.

>ZC is a bodybuilder/fitness buff

Eh, his body looks just like Brad Pitt's in Fight Club. I wouldn't call him buff.

the reason you think ZC is qualified is because "he knows what he is talking about?
So the sport trainer isn't qualified?

People don't like to be told what they should eat and how they should workout. Once they decide what they think is good, they stick to it, even if its later shown that there are better alternatives. It's like religion almost, in that once some people learn it one way, they're never going to change.
