You're either going to have to suck it up and buy a bike that was made to last, or buy a shit bike that goes either way. Honestly, I don't think it has much to do with your weight. I had a shitty bike when I was a teenager and I weighed around 230, and I didn't have any problems. Bikes are either cheaply made or not.
What I can tell you is this: there's not much of a market for bikes because they are hard to ship. You have to look local, which is why local shops are still around and people buy $300 bikes just for leisure (not a serious racer or anything). So Anon, do this... Check Craigslist and you will find very cheap $300-$500 dollar bikes going for $100 or less. Keep checking. They show up in my town pretty frequently. And there you go. A $300 dollar bike is now less than a shitty WalMart bike.
tl;dr: Craigslist motherfucker, do you use it?
