Ok, I'm just going to ignore the rest of the madness (no pun intended) preceding my post, and reply as best I can to OP's original question.
Saw the article in Men's Health way back when, got curious, decided to throw this into my workout 3 days a week. Best thing I can say, is it's fucking brutal. Yeah, it may not seem like the most weight. Yeah, they may not seem like the hardest exercises. But when you do them as fast as possible, without resting, it's mind-blowing. I wouldn't say it turned me into the ZOMG SPARTAN BADASS like you hear so many fairies rambling on about - but it's a good fucking workout. Full-body, high intensity, high-rep. Have my time down to 17:16...read in the article the fastest time among the cast was 18:something. Don't really care, though. I just do it because it's a change of pace, makes you want to kill yourself, and scares a lot of people at the gym as you stagger from exercise to exercise. This was one facet of the workout regime (NOT the only facet, like some people think) the cast went through in the six weeks leading up to the filming.
tl;dr - it's actually a pretty good workout, the faggots BAWWING about crossfit are just bitter fat-asses who can't do a pushup. Just don't expect to be all SPARTAN badass.
