What's a good unflavoured fibre substitute? I'd like to add it to smoothies to help with IBS.

I have IBS.

Benefiber.

I bought some because it was on sale at Target, and it's actually really good.
Absolutely ZERO taste, doesn't thicken and get gloopy, and it stirs into basically any liquid or food.

I normally use Metamucil, but this shit seems superior.

why

That's the one I was thinking of. I saw a commercial advertising the zero taste thing. How much was it?

I'm not sure... I think normal price is like $11 for 38 servings or something.

The one I got had a container with 38 servings of powder and another container of 12 servings of orange-flavored chewable tablets, and on sale I think it was $8.

After using Metamucil for so long (just have it around for when I get stopped up) I was really surprised at how different it was. The claims about taste free, grit free, and non-thickening really are true.

hey, so, what exactly are the benefits of fiber for ibs? i assume you have ibs-c, in which case i probably shouldn't touch the stuff because i tend towards ibs-d... but JUST IN CASE, i'm asking.

I just shit a lot. And I drink a lot of alcohol so that's not helping. I just find when I have more fibre in my diet there's more bulk to my craps and I don't have to go as often. You know, regularity.

i guess you're more tended towards constipation. i find that i shit a lot, very often. when i'm 'regular' i'm taking big ass dumps (which i am all of a sudden in an urgent move to get rid of) around two or three times a day, with little poops in between.

where does all of this fucking shit come from? and if i don't go, i FEEL like i'm full to the brim with shit. so either way i lose.
