Incline Level on Treadmill Anonymous
I have one of those treadmills that you can adjust the incline level, the highest incline is level 10 and its pretty much like climbing stairs,

so here is the thing after running a couple miles on level 2 incline in 16 minutes at 6mph I feel very exausted but according to the machine it says i have only burned up about 230 calories, the next day i decided to put the incline all the way at level 10@3mph which is the max and after 20 minutes on the treadmill it says i burned up 220 calories only difference is i wasnt tired at all after that,

should i continue to run the 2 miles on the treadmill,

or try and burn up "1000 calories" according to what the treadmill says using the highest incline level at 3 mph since i feel like i can go on forever at that setting

if you're just looking to burn calories then the 10th incline @3mph is best as you'll have more endurance so you can go for longer and therefore burn more calories in a day. although if you're looking to try and build some definition you'll want the lower incline at a higher speed. More effort forces the muscle to grow, etc.

i used to weigh 240 down to 190 and want to get down to 160 before summer vacation is over and its time to get back to school

and i think if i do the 10th level@3mph for longer it will be much faster

Set incline to highest level. Set speed to maximum. Start running. Final destination: weight loss, muscle power.
