I've been having some kind of chest-area pain. I talked to a doctor about it and even got an EKG but there was nothing found or figured out.
It seems to be related to some sort of uncomfortable position I end up sitting or sleeping in. Never when standing. Once it happened when I merely stood up at work, once it happened when I woke up one morning.
It's pretty rare, like 3 times a month so far. It's only happened for maybe 3 months. It's extremely painful and stops me from breathing from the pain, but it goes away pretty fast. Longest it lasted was 3 minutes. It seems to come after hearing a small pop in my middle back.

Any ideas?

>>The most frequent finding at the checkup is tenderness of the chest wall, and the most common chest-wall disorder is the "Precordial Catch Syndrome." In this condition, the pain is described as a brief (30 seconds), sharp, discomfort beneath the left nipple occurring at rest or with mild activity. Inspiration causes the child to hesitate momentarily as if something is "catching" around the heart. The teen then breathes shallowly for a few minutes, afraid to take a deep breath until the pain leaves. >Classrooms and libraries are popular places for this pain to strike since it may be caused by poor posture. The condition is not serious and disappears in time, as mysteriously as it came.

>The "Precordial Catch" syndrome really scares teens because they definitely believe they are having a heart attack. You should be informed that cardiovascular disease in this age group is an extremely rare, even unheard of, cause of chest pain. Furthermore, pain originating from the heart is almost always located in the center of the chest, and is described as crushing in nature frequently radiating down an arm. Learning that you are not having a heart attack goes a long way in relieving anxiety!

Oh shit that sounds exactly like it. Thank you! Although I'm not a teen, I'm 22. And it does seem to happen as a result of bad posture when sitting or lying down. I've also noticed it seems to focus on my left side of my chest, although not a specific spot.

It probably matters that I should point out that my chest muscles are always, always sore as a result of...well...having huge tits. But I still don't think it's directly related. I think they cause bad posture though.

I'll mention it to her next time I see her, but I'm 100% sure that's the right diagnosis.
