Dear skinny kids. I used to be one of you. I absolutely refuse to put pictures of myself on here, but I started out at 138 lbs (5'8") & now I'm 151 a few days shy of 3 months later. My goal is 155 & I have no doubt I'll reach it by the end of September.

This was my exact regimen:

Buy an Olympic barbell, a few plates, a buddy lee jump rope & a pull up bar.

Step 1: Stretch.
Step 2: Do 5x5 deadlifts, squats, pullups, & overhead press.
Step 3: Do 2 (working your way up to 3) sets of 50 bicycle crunches.
Step 4: Do 4 sets of 300 jumps with 90 second rests in between.

Repeat thrice a week. Eat 400 extra calories a day.

That's it. You will gain between 4 & 6 pounds a month. I used no supplements, no protein shakes, no HIIT, or any of the other fad shit /fit/ swears by. I work out early in the morning (about 7) Monday, Wednesday, & Friday.

I don't agree with your routine. If you can still do that fancy cardio after your 5x5 it means you didn't work hard enough, and that's a good thing because doing 5 sets of deadlift and 5 sets of squat every sessions is supposed to burn you quickly.

jump rope, or actually jumping?

I was a competitive athlete for 10 years prior to starting seriously gaining mass. I have absurdly good stamina. Also, 4 sets of 300 jump ropes is about 10 minutes of jumping.

It's tough, but I want to conserve my energy for the lifting & wind down with the jumping rope.

Jumping rope. 2 of the sets are basic (both legs at the same time), 2 are speed step (like running in place). Also the last 10 of each set are doubles.

did you buy a powercage or a bench? nice work, congrats on your gains. rock on for making a non troll thread.
>no protein shakes, no HIIT
Protein shakes help if you are big to keep gaining. HITT is one of the best cardios you can get.

You really probably could get away with less cardio, but keeping up my stamina is really important for me.

also what are your working weights for deadlifts squats and press

Yeah I know both would probably help with gains, but I love my routine/diet the way it is & I'm gaining at a speed I'm happy with and have yet to plateau. I only have 4 more pounds and then I'll switch over to something less intense for maintenance.
