Skinnyfag here, I am 6'5'' 175 and I am trying to gain weight.

For the past month I have been working out 3 times a week for 30 minutes a day (Don't want to burn all my calories) and I do few reps with lots of weight (that is appropriate for my weight)

I also have been trying to eat as much as possible and as healthy as possible, but I didn't see any results in 3 weeks so I stepped it up. I now drink 1 gallon of milk a day (You guys suggested it) Do my squats, eating even more now, and still working out 3 times a week for 30 minutes at a time.

At the given moment I am not taking any supplements besides some whey protein (but don't take it regularly) Should I? I eat lots of tuna, drink lots of milk so I think I am getting enough protein but I can never be sure.

Anyways, any suggestions? tips I may be missing? How long do you think it would take before people noticed a difference? (I can't notice it myself as its gradual)

p.s:Thank you /fit/ in advance as you guys have been helpful of the past month or so and actually keep me motivated and going.

Moar? I didn't want to burn up all my calories.

how long should I spend in the gym a day? how about in a given week?

Who cares about burning up calories. You are obviously eating more than enough (a gallon of milk a day, wut). Lift moar and all that food will feed ur muscles instead of just being shit out like it is now.

As for myself, I spend 2 hours in gym, 3x a week. My regimen would be considered horrible but I dont have time to go to gym 5 days a week with alternating muscle groups and the like. It works for me.

ill do my best to relate. I started at 5'10" 145 and now am 147 after about 8 months. Tons more mass added though, and no fat.

I would take one scoop of whey in morning, two after workout. Drink tons of water. Don't worry about burning off your calories. Just get lots of high protein foods, lots of vegetables, carbs, low fat etc.

My workouts are usually just over an hour, 5-6 days a week. I've gone from repping 115 to 5x 175 in about 5 months.

It's not about how long you're in the gym, it's about how much work gets done. Post your routine.

Routine

I start with squats as I work-out as soon as gym opens so I like to "claim" the squat racks before they are taken

Squats: 6x6 150 pounds (Have only been squatting for 3 weeks, can't do my weight yet)

Lunges: 70 pounds, 6x7, I don't think lunges are girly, I think they work out the legs quite nicely.

Bench, 6x6 140 pounds. No spotter, can't do more weight but I could if I tried.

Curls, 80 pounds total, 6x6

these are the main things that I get through each time I am at the gym. I add in a few more things but change it up regularly. But these are the core of my workout.

OP, you're already squatting, and drinking a GOMAD, that's half the battle. The other part of the equation is your lifting program, I recommend Starting Strength.

I started it at 6' even and 160lbs, and gained 10lbs of muscle in the first month, and then another 10lbs over the next two months. Shit is SO cash.

your over working if your weight training 5-6 days a week. In fact your putting such a hinderance on improvement it shocks me you have seen any difference at all. 3 days of weight training a week gives the body ample time to recover and see real results, i get the macho thing of i work out everyday of the week but seriously dude cut the routine and you will see massive improvements.

Obligatory /fit/ posts. I've been on it for three weeks so far, I haven't seen any physically noticeable results but it's supposed to take at least 3 months to get to that point.
