make sure your hands are firmly on the ground BEFORE you launch your legs back. to not do so is to hurt.

This is true, but it isn't as much pressure on your joints as powerlifting is, because of the sub maximal weights.

apparently everything fucks up your joints so you're fucked, sitting around doing nothing fucks up your joints, running fucks up your joints, lifting fucks up your joints. mine as well just kill yourself now

ITT we learn that putting stress on objects causes them to wear down over time.

this is the 'funny' i was getting at, active, inactive, weights, running, tv watching, your joints are always degrading with time
>> CWheezy !!bJFrM5LONOF
I mean it is relative, some things are worse than others.

If you're as skinny as the dude in the OP's pic, then burpees wont be too harsh on your body.

the only way to save your joints is to live in 0 gravity

Don't your joints deteriorate anyways from under use?

Or is that just muscle mass

'use' would require some form of 'load'...hence in ZG....no use. total atrophy as their exists no external loading in any form.

I'm just thinking along the lines of like an ankle brace, which actually makes the joint weaker and more like to roll when the ankle brace isn't worn.

now we are brining up an entirely different subject, the concept of 'weakest link in the chain' and the idea of stabilizers.

the body is a perfect machine. Whenever it fails, it just passes the buck else to keep functioning under (almost) any circumstance.

good for survival in pre modern times
bad for optimal health and function

its why i'll still say traditional PL is better for joints than traditional BB (machines, elbows out bench, awkward, unnatural movements) PL will always choose to lift in the most biomechanically advantageous form, which puts the joints in the 'best possible circumstance' to handle the work
