A muscle being sore is your body's way of telling you to stop using it.

That's typical when you first start working out, or haven't worked that particular muscle group in a while, then try and go back to the weight I did last time I lifted. That always fucks me up for a few days.

Just ease up a little until your body is a bit more used to it...shouldn't take more than 2-3 workouts.
