Swimming is good. If it's taken seriously.
You need to make it a proper habit and get to the pool 3-4 times a week, spending at least 40 mins in the pool and swimming at a moderate rate (none of this breast stroke at 1mph faggotty woman shit).
It'll take you a few months to build up some stamina, obviously, and it has to be in conjunction with minding your diet. If you don't bother, you'll just eat more to compensate for the swimming and make no weight improvements. You'll still get fit though.
