I've just started going to a gym in the last couple of weeks and I got a personal trainer to help with motivation and figuring out what exactly I should be doing. It's been working out so far, but I have some trouble with the nutrition aspect of working out.

Most of the advice (start drinking water, no sweets, switch to low-fat everything) is hard though simple enough, but once in a while she drops a bomb like "toxins" or bullshit about fast food restaurants having grade D meat and I start to question her instructions.

So, does anyone have any good book recommendations or information sites that could start me out on good nutrition with a more scientific basis? Its seems like a lot of health food advice is frustratingly married to new age mumbojumbo.
