whats the best heart rate to maintain while jogging in order to build stamina? 70% max heart rate?

110% FUCK YEAH STOP BEING A PUSSY

who the fuck would want to look like a marathon runner

good question, 70 seems fine; but i find that my heart rate exceeds what would be 90% of my max by the linear formula as a function of age (max = 220 - Age) even if i am not going terribly fast. i wonder if this has to do with trying to maintain the pace causing the rate to steadily increase with activity or simply deviation since the max formula isn't very accurate... for the record my resting rate is exactly 60 and I am 20 year of age

No practical application...other than being able to lift things. Not to mention the cardiovascular fitness implicit to one's heart being able to supply all those muscles with the energy necessary to perform said lifts. BUT HAVING MUSCLES IS USELESSLOL

Also, OP, HIIT has produced greater stamina gains in me than low-mid intensity running ever has. I'd get on an HIIT program if I was you.

you made the presumption that jogging-> marathon runner

AHAHAHA YOU FAGGOT, ITS THE OPPOSITE. MY MUSCLES ARE STRONG AND HAVE ENOUGH ENDURANCE TO EAT YOU FOR BREAKFAST.

RUNNING FAR JUST MAKES YOU GOOD AT RUNNING FAR, TRY SWIMMING YOU WILL SUCK. LIFTING WEIGHTS MAKES ME GOOD AT EVERYTHING

Why are ya'll linking to my post? I said that lifting weights IMPROVED cardiovascular fitness o_O

>>153528
Who said anything about not running? I said lifting weights isn't useless. That doesn't equate to asserting that running is useless...

and i said its useless to have big bulky muscles, not that lifting or HIIT was useless

Big bulky muscles aren't useless, either. They are metabolically active tissues that keep your body in a constant state of activity. Talk about cardiovascular fitness...those guys are running a marathon 24 hours a day!
