So fit I've been getting into my routine of exercise for the past 2-3 weeks and though it was hard at first... I'm starting to get used to it. I've been slowly changing my diet by inputting more veggies and fruits. I like to cook so I have no problems with that. I'm also cutting out soft drinks and junk food overall though I still partake every once in a while especially if I go out.

I have an semi-addiction to gum and can't live without it. I chew about 2-3 pieces per day but I can probably go down to 1. Do the 5g sugar in each really affect me that much as long as the rest of my diet and workout is decent?

You should never get used to it. A workout should always be hard if you want to see a maximum amount of gains. Remember: Progressive Overload.
