Hey /fit/, I'm going to water fast for three weeks (with a juice-fast as a buffer between starting and finishing). I've put on some weight since I got a serious arm injury and stopped playing sports last fall... (soccer and tennis, with a bit of basketball on the side)

Is there a quicker method than fasting? I don't mind the damage that will be done to my body. Once I hit my target weight, I'll be back on my normal sports diet. I am young, afterall. \_o__/

Just lop off some body parts

It will work, you'll be fine.

I had tonsilitis for a week and I couldn't eat or drink and lost about 15 pounds. But, it's mostly muscle you lose.

I lol'ed

That extra kidney was just weighing you down anyways

OP hurr

Hrm. I suppose you're right about the muscle loss. Last year I did a three week fast, and even though the scale said I lost a few pounds, I didn't look any skinner. My toning did fade a bit. :/

At the same time, three months of intense cardio and dieting only got me down by 20 lbs. (including weight gained from muscle)

Fat people just never win, huh?

Holy shit, OP, enjoy totally ruining your metabolism and ability to eat normally (which is crucial to your sports diet, and also that little thing called life)

get real. Water fasting is completely healthy. The only thing detrimental about it is the hours of exercise and or fun that you'll have to trade for sleep. You can bounce back from a month of fasting; but don't over do it.

>Water fasting is completely healthy.

Because humans aren't biologically hardwired to eat, amirite?

Are you forgetting what fat is for in the first place?

Anyways, juice fasting is a good idea before water fasting. Your body will need to recycle your vitamins and minerals, so starting on next to nil is a bad idea.

Your body consumes fat in extreme survival situations. Deliberately letting your body consume its fat and muscle in any other (trivial) situation is stupid.

lrn/2 health, faggot

Yeah, it's just such a damn shame that our ancestors never experienced diminished food supplies or outright famine, and so never evolved any sort of an ability to store nutrients for later use, amirite?

Or, you know, you proponents of fasting can quit fagging up the place and do cardio, like everyone else with half a mind.

You don't lose fat during a fast sorry. You lose muscle. If you are on a water fast you will probably gain weight. Being obsessed with the scale is retarded and if you go on a water fast(probably the most nutritious thing for the human body on the planet) then i hope you die.

>If you are on a water fast you will probably gain weight

uummmmmm... so while consuming no calories, losing both muscle and fat, you gain weight... ok.

yo-yo dieting you fucking idiot. Look it up. Goddamn you morons piss me off.

you need to be taking 5 small meals a day to speed up your metabolism, not fucking stopping eating to slow it down to a crawl. Enjoy losing weight for the 3 weeks and then gaining 40 pounds the minute you eat a stalk of celery.

The key to weight loss is good diet and hard work. So stop being a fat ass, hit the gym and do some biking.

>I don't mind the damage that will be done to my body

You might not mind this but I think you'll probably mind the fact that you'll gain all your weight back and probably more in the space of two weeks.
