Americans are fat fat fatty... minus the ones in Colorado apparently

A high instance of obesity is just a growing pain of being a modern nation. Food of all kinds is in abundance and physical labor is no longer necessitated by nature. Obesity rates are climbing in other countries whose human development and standard of living are increasing.

Like every other minor setback experienced by the human race, we will eventually adapt and overcome. Better education about proper nutrition and fitness as well as a proactive public will get things back under control.

are you saying that canada has a standard of living problem? or that they're more educated about nutrition and fitness? otherwise i agree entirely.

I LOVE BEING A HEALTHY AMERICAN. I STAND OUT!

Canada has lower pop density and less poverty. This shit isn't surprising.

Agreed.
Everything here inexpensive is packed in grease.
Which is sad, because everyone here would rather save a buck then eat something healthy. On top of that, there's just pure ignorance.

Living and eating healthy can be more expensive, but whatever.

>>275636

Not being fat doesn't make you an anorexic, you clearly like overweight women or in fact are an overweight women. despite your personal preference the girl in supposed image is not an anorexic.

It can also be cheaper if you're not lazy.

Anyone ever tried a Burger made from wild boar? fuckin awesome. not to mention very lean, and sounds Masculine..

Agreed. I dunno what's with /fit/'s obsession with chub. Look at female olympic athletes. They're all thin (unless they're freakishly large body builders).

Very true too.
I just buy a pound of 2 of turkey breast off the local supermarket. The bread I have isn't too good, though.
Contains High Fructose Corn Syrup.
Need to buy whole grain.

I'm Canadian and I'm fat. But I'm already fixing that by cooking my own food. Even us Canadians have shitty HUNGRY MAN dinners (800 calories? lol wut) and shrink wrapped fatty foods. I'm actually surprised Canada isn't a little fatter.
>> Anonymous
>>275719
The mounties are changing the numbers. If it wasn't counting mounties with normal citizens Canada would be 10x fatter.
>> Anonymous
The statistics Canada numbers are based on self-reported data (lol). If you look at the recent report published in Circulation Medical Journal based on measurements during thousands of doctor visits, Canadians actually have about the same average BMI as their American counterparts.

Source: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7057951.stm

Also note the correlation between minority population and obesity. 50% of black women in the US are obese.

BMI doesn't mean shit

For a black woman with her lardearse it means shit news. You are obese.

This graph has to be way off, I've lived in WA and now NV for a couple years and I swear everyone in NV is obese except me and the people who go to the gym

Fair enough, the survey I mentioned also provides direct obesity numbers.

hey God damn don't let the color distract you from the numbers. The green is still 18.4% or higher obese. obesity is associated with a slew of diseases statistically. We have fat fucks here in Canada too.

maybe the lard asses are centered to nearby around you. I mean, you can't be everywhere in NV.

Personally, I find it a bit strange that the American South is pretty much the fattest overall. Do you have any idea how HOT it gets down here? I live in Georgia, the LAST thing I wanna do is be fat in the types of Summers we get. I can agree with this chart, though. Here in Savannah you really can't walk a block without seeing someone (or multiple people) who are obviously over 300 pounds. You can literally see the sweat glistening off of their foreheads in some cases.

Bleh. I see really obese people sitting out in the middle of July eating fast food. I've no idea how anyone can have an appetite for stuff so high in fat and sodium when it's damn near 100 degrees outside. I would expect more obese people the further North you go, cause at least it would probably be comfortable to be carrying weight when it's freezing outside. In fact, I envy those fat people. When I had to go to Maine to visit family a few years ago in February, I was bundled up all day and still shivering constantly.

Most people in the civilized south have something known as "air conditioning" faggot.

You wish you were fat and sexy and successful like me.
>> Anonymous
>>275955
I live in Canada (inb4 milk bags), and I know the feeling.
Im around 10%bf, in the winter its FUCKING cold and I takes me even more food to stay warm. On the plus side, its more delicious food I have to eat NOM NOM NOM. I eats like a lumberjack, just like the forefathers.

Places in the south are the fattest because they're also the poorest. Mississippi is also the poorest state. Think about it, Bobbie Sue can't make it to a Kroger because of how remote her area is, so she settles for whole milk at a gas station.
It's all about convenience. They can't buy lean ground beef, 100% whole wheat hamburger buns, and all the works for less than a burger off a dollar menu.
>> Anonymous
>>275955
it's because there are so many niggers in the south. Notice how all states with a large negro population have high obesity?
>> Anonymous
>>276073
no it's nothing to do with that. It's to do with the amount of mexicans and negros.
>> Anonymous
Blacks are way more likely to be fat than whites, so yeah, that explains the South.
>> Anonymous
>>275578
Well, in the Yukon you have to have some body fat to survive. God damn, sometimes you people don't get the adaption part of things.
>> Little Busters !!cYRK7ZeKVyk
I'd blame the likelihood of fatassery on their culture. It's just common in the south to eat overwhelmingly large amounts of meat.

>> Anonymous
>>276086
nah, most white people are fat asses here as well.
they all sit around in the air conditioning, eating lots of fried foods, disgusting, fattest peices of pork they can find drenched in barbaque sauce that has more sugar in it than anything else(same goes for baked beans), they put a ton of butter in any, otherwise healthy vegetable they cook. and they go back for seconds and some thirds.

Ok OP I have a Question does this take into consideration Fat Percentage or just weight. I have a 10% body fat, but am technically obese. I just finished my second strong man competition (3rd out of 5 not bad if I can gloat). I am not saying that America does not have a problem but I was just wondering. Also is obesity the same for Canadians as Americans?
>> Anonymous
>>276173
yes, you count as obese in their eyes. My 3 workout buddies and I are all technically obese, too. We are all 5'11 -6'1" ish, all around 210, 215. According to the BMI charts, we are all obese, even though we are some of the healthiest people out there.

The whole "obesity epidemic" is blown out of proportion by these numbers. Yes, there is a bit of an issue, but it isn't nearly as bad as the media leads you to think.
>> Anonymous
>>276180
Yeah I am also 5'11 at 225 so Yeah I am an obese fatty, but hey I do not look like it.
