If I'm going to spend money on something like a treadmill, is it better to spend more to get something that might be better quality, like around $600 - $700, or will something around $300 - $400 be alright? Also, is 10mph the norm? That doesn't seem like a lot if most of them max out at that speed.

Mine was $700, it was on sale for $500 something. It goes 1 - 10 mph, and if you can run that fast you don't need a treadmill, you need to run track. Quality really matters...spend the extra if you can or just get a gym membership.

Indeed, quality is a huge factor. There are really cheap basic treadmills that are really hard on your joins. Not good if you have bad ankles or knees.

A gym investment would be a better investment.

If you have any gyms near you, get a membership there, they have the best tread mills.

If you still want to buy one, however, I would spend at least $600 on one if I were you, because nothing is worse than a bad treadmill. Also, research and look for the one that's best for you.

most places offer to rent treadmills, so try before you commit to one

if it's cheap the ball bearings probably will be the cheapest. you will end up not using the treadmill at all because of the noise or because it breaks
