How much energy does bicycling burn when compared to jogging? I hate jogging but I wouldn't mind bicycling at all so long as I don't have to devote alot more time to it.
shut the fuck up and RUNbiking burns calories half as quickly
>>155495great, because i can go 4 times as fast and 10 times as far if i bike
>>155495OP here. Half as much? Ok I thought it was alot worse than that. I can deal with that.
>>155494Personally I would only go bicycling because of how theres barely any impact to your knees and joints giving it a lighter load. But all in all Running > Bicycling.
>>155510True, running is the best thing, but I run to run, which isn't very fun. I figure I can buy a bike and use that to get to school which is 2.5 miles away. I'll do that every day rather than the 1.2 miles I run every other day.
>>155500And waste twice as much time burning the same number of calories! Wooooo
>>155522better to go longer and do the whole thing than run for a bit and burn out
My google skillz are superior to everyone in this thread. Search string: "calorie expenditure by activity charts"Here's 4 results for yall to compare:http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/exercise/SM00109http://www.diet4uonline.com/exercali.htmhttp://www.nutribase.com/exercala.htmhttp://www.netfit.co.uk/fatcal.htm
>>155523Wtf? Do you have somewhere you need to get on a bike? If you're doing shit in longer time, that just means you're not doing it as intensely. Less intensity >>> less direct fat burn. Enjoy your cycling wedgie.
