question /fit/is it overtraining if I go to the gym twice in a row (upper body one day lower the next), rest one day, then go back the next two? should I throw in an extra rest day every now and then?
if you can do the lift the same weight for the same reps/sets as a rule of thumb, you probably aren't overtraining
As long as you feel you've fully recovered from the last workout of the same body parts.
minimum recovery time needed before hitting the same muscle is 48 hours..your not over training OP
That's what I do to get ready for football. If you're not feeling rested the morning after your rest day, you need more time off.
