Hey, /fit/!

I have a load of other problem areas on my body aside from this. However, I think I hate this part the most, I have this hideous amount of fat that sticks out a little more than the rest on my stomach, and I'm wondering what I can do to make this go down so its flatter? And also make my sides more shapely as well. Would just sit-ups/crunches do? Or is there anything else I can try? I honestly don't eat too much, but my problem lies in that I NEVER exercise (And well, when I do eat, it's late at night before I go to bed, so I know I need to quit that as well), and I know my metabolism works really fast if I just get off my fat ass, which is what I plan to start doing. I'm currently walking about an hour a day on the treadmill and swimming for about 30 minutes when I can, though the weather has been awful for swimming the past few days. I also plan to bike once I can get myself a helmet and such. Anyway, back on topic. I mostly for the moment just want to get rid of this. HALP?

TL;DR: What exercises can I do to get rid of that slab of fat over my already fat stomach?

Also, I guess one more thing. My arms are flabby. What helps with those? Weights, I'm assuming but how many pound weights should I use? 3lb, 5lb?

Your stomach looks abnormal. Have you ever gotten that shit checked? I knew a girl with a similar look, but the "roundness" was a bit lower, turn out it was a fucking ovarian tumor the size of a grapefruit.

You have to make DRASTIC changes in your diet if you want to change your appearance.

Ovarian cancer does run in our family, however last time I went to the doctor which wasn't too long ago, there wasn't anything going on.

5'5" and probably about 190lbs? Calories, I'd say are between 1200-1700. I was keeping a book for a few days, writing down everything I ate. The average is supposed to be around 2,000 right? I'm unsure if this is supposed to differ from person to person, but I know I eat under 2,000. A couple weeks ago I was actually eating around 700 calories a day and I lost 9 lbs. But I'm not sure if that was too healthy or not. I've been trying to work out as I said, but I want to know what exercises I can do to get rid of that shit :(

And stop drinking sodas, and throw out the chips, it's easier than you think.

Will bicycling help get rid of that part? I'm not sure what areas bicycling focuses on. Chips, I'll work on. As for sodas, I've already had no problem cutting those out, I've been drinking pretty much only water for a month, or water + that crystal lite stuff for taste since it's only like 5-10 calories.

You can't area treat fat burn. Think of your body as a lake, etc..

When you do cardio like jogging or bicycling, your body starts burning fat as energy, and eventually it'll use up most of the fat in your belly, and it should go away.

Bicycle about 1 or 2 miles at first, you're probably out of weight.

After a while you'll enjoy it and want to do more.
Today I was gonna bicycle 4 miles, but it's raining right now. ;(

Well, guess all I need to get is a helmet then, which I've been planning to do. We have a mountain bike in the backyard that my brother decided to leave here, so I'm going to try using that.

Thanks for the advice, seriously. Hopefully I'll start seeing some results once I can get that going. :)

Cardio is cardio and no matter the source, it all has the same effect on how it reduces fat. The only real difference is how much effort each provides, and things like stress on joints. You cannot remove fat from specific parts of the body. This is completely impossible. Fortunately, fat tends to come off in the same ratio that it comes on, so if your body stores most of its fat in the belly, that's what will be reduced the most when you start losing.

Also, it cannot be stressed enough that diet plays a larger role than exercise in weight loss. You definitely need both, but if you can't drastically change your diet, you are wasting your time.

Yeah, I've been trying a lot to cut back on calories and trying not to eat sugary foods and such. For a while, I was usually eating a sandwich for lunch and salad/chicken/turkey for dinner. I've also been trying to stay away from fried foods, but those have never really been a problem anyway. The stuff I do have problems with are usually the sweets. =/ Big weakness for me. I stopped writing down everything I ate, so I should probably start up again, it was really helping.

I'm glad to hear that it should be my stomach that starts toning down first though. Its usually my stomach or arms that all the fat goes to first. I need to look up what other exercises I can do besides bicycling/jogging to help.
