"Six-Pack ABS": A Gross Distortion of the Human Body? Anonymous
Like me, do you find some people's obsession for "six pack abs" a bit odd? In my opinion, sporting a "six pack" looks ugly. It is not natural to have stomach muscles bulging out. You look like a freak, in my opinion. That's not to say that a fat gut is to be desired, but I think that a non-fat, slightly toned figure is what is to be desired.

The fact that many women are sporting "six pack abs" in fitness commercials and in the gym is ridiculous. A woman even looks more ridiculous with bulging stomach muscles. It is completely unnatural.

Natural human activity was not intended to give people ripped abdomen muscles. It's completely ludicrous that ripped abs and super-huge biceps and triceps are what society tells us is to be desired. I disagree.

Anyone else agree? Disagree?

I personally do not seek to have six-pack abs, ever (wimminz).

I also do not find them attractive. I don't find them ugly, but I don't see 6-packs and say "OMGWANT."
>> Anonymous
The only reason why you don't like them is because your personal society has told you not to like them. There is no totally uninfluenced "natural beauty", people like what our experiences have taught us to like.

I would like a 4 Pack if possible, I'm sick of having a Gut.

In military its not "seeked" but working out and training all the time forces you have abs and big muscles to be a soldier... and to survive
>> Anonymous
The super cut look is pretty unnatural. The low body fat % and dehydration alot of guys and gals go through to get their abs into such ridiculous definition is completely off.

In reality, anything under 10% is stupid... epecially from an evolutionary survival standpoint. But that goes hand in hand with the whole body building thing, making muscles unnaturally large and sculpted without any real practical use.

A good, strong person will likely have a well defined abdominal section, it comes hand in hand with having a strong core/trunk... I have a six pack, but not to such an extreme that I could lose food in the crevices.
That strong core is the result of lifting and metcon work, not 2000 crunches every day with an immense cutting diet.

I like six packs on men, flat stomaches on wimminz.

In my, rather light, experience most soldiers are "fit" and wiry rather than classically "buff".

Stamina and endurance >>>> Liftan powah

I share a barracks with 29 other soldiers and though we're all very fit, only 3 of us have 6 pack abs. I'm not one of them

What the fuck is this "soldier" bullshit? The only soldiers in some kind of shape (more than just running and walking in short spurts) are special forces and the ones you see in your patriotic action movies.

I dont think its unhealthy, its a goal to achieve something they want and as long as they arent putting their life in danger its their choice right?

I disagree

I was in 3rd Force Recon bn before I retired. This was back before Conversion to MARSOC. Marine not soldier.

Anyways I did not have 6 pack abs. Did not care to eat things that tasted like shit unless I had to. Never bothered bulking either because I just ate till I was comfortable and took protein shakes.

I didn't get women due to lack of effort learning game. Not from not having a 6pack.

I was in very good shape though. Still am.

Endurance is important for the military. Bench pressing 300 and squating 500 or being 6' 200 is completely irrelevant to passing Screening.

Only 1/4 of the guys were 6' + and muscled. Most were average build with good endurance.

Doesn't matter if you agree or not, he's right.

For instance, all those native indians and people who still live as traditional hunter/gatherers have fat beer guts to store fat. They don't look like graeco-roman athletes. Humans were built for strength and endurance, not cultivating ripped muscles.

I disagree with your disagree.

Being ripped to the point of OP's pic would never be beneficial to survival. You're body needs bigger fat stores in order to endure harsh conditions for a longer period of time. Anything lower than 10% is pushing that limit.

OP's pic is about 10-12% with good lighting.

Why would you talk about survival today ? we're not living in ancient times
>> Anonymous
>>132814
I never understood why people base things like that on some hypothetical post-apocalyptic or caveman scenario. We don't live in that kind of world where it's necessary to maintain fat stores. Unless of course you live in some isolated 3rd world country where humanity still actually has to struggle to survive. That you're posting online probably means you don't.

I'm just saying it isn't the way we were designed by evolution. We weren't designed to body build, we weren't designed to sit behind a desk for 10 hours a day etc.

It is unnatural like OP suggests. It is just that todays world allows people to get away with it. I think that a "ripped" set of abs looks no where near as good as someone with a truly good trunk to them.

Girls with 6 pack abs is fucked up.

THIS is how its done right: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxVBwNRcLZc

note: no visible abs.

Hey guess what, it's even less healthy to be an out of shape fat shit that sits in front of a computer all day. So much that, in the modern days of advanced medicine and abundant properly nutritious foods, it still kills people. People like six packs because it shows that the owner has self control, self respect, and some damn discipline. Why do you deserve to have a woman or raise a family when you're too lazy to manage your own weight?

You aren't designed to do anything at all, unless you count reproducing. We choose to do all this stuff, math, language, rockhardabs, etc.
>> Molon Labe !OWRNsS8xeo
I'd rather have a six-pack than a keg.

added to my copy pasta file.

what the fuck is natural anyway? if this is at all serious take a look at a lot of teh remaining hunter-gatherers. some have pot guts, some have fuck all body fat and high muscle definition including six-packs. when people say natural they usually mean 'i am a lazy fuck who doesn't want to do anything, including but not limited to shaving, showering, wiping my ass or getting up from in front of the computer, because in primitive society that exists only in my head japanese chicks love fat white pedos. triple cheeseburger om nom nom nom.'

Actually, 8% (for men) is still a completely healthy amount which will provide enough for your body to function optimally and for reserve fuels should you need it. If you're going by that logic, you might as well become a fat, unhealthy cunt so that you can survive as long as possible should you ever need that to happen.

Lol @ "unnatural". I don't know how you discerned that one.

everyone wants 6pac, look at myspace etc
