Do crunches

Basic, but much more effective than your machine crap

op here
wont taking a week off loose the progress ive made on my abs?

also ive been going to the gym daily, weather or not if im aching like hell, a friend of mine said the best way to build muscle was tear and repair or something and to only go a few times a week, not every night. what are your thoughts?

Taking a week off will be a good thing. Your body will slow down and have time to build up. When you keep working it it stays really tired and wont build muscle.

muscle takes 24 to 48 hours to repair it self.
legs and back take more time to recover, some might say that it takes about a week to recover fully.

it also depends on how you eat, suplement and sleep. sleeping and eating being the most important

muscles getting stronger tend to make them hurt less when doing the same intensity work out. I cant state it any simpler than that.
You became stronger. Take a week off, you will become weaker then you will hurt again as you become stronger.

i don't think he's really lookin for the "hurt". As someone might have explained it.. you became stronger. So do a "harder" exercise.. do more reps... or just get some weights on your chest while doing crunches.. it works..

What the hell is that? An albino nigger or something?

Being sore is not necessarily an indicator of a good workout. People generally find themselves sore if they work out after having a longer period of inactivity. If you're being diligent about your workouts now I wouldn't worry too much about whether you're sore or not later. Just keep yourself challenged and throw in variety to your workouts

protip: muscles aching after excercise is not indicative of positive gains nor the effectiveness of your workout.
