well i slept in a friend's cottage recently, far away from all the flood lights lining city streets. immediately on night one we all slept much more deeply. there was a tiny window, moonlight and stars we're visible. but indoors they are dim, especially compared to light standards. there's one 6 feet out my window. i hate it. i completely block it every night. another friend bricked up the entire window and used plaster, but i like fresh air also.
but in that book it cites a study, they used a tiny light behind the knee in a completely black room. the person was completely covered in a thick blanket sleeping. when the light was turned on they immediately read melatonin production STOPPED. the light diameter was only of a dime.
so yeah, there you go. i wish i knew more.
