The only gym that is at a remotely decent distance from where I learn, live or work costs ~90$/month, that being said, it's too costly for me.

So don't recommend me a gym.

Now I'll get to the question. What are good substitutes DB bench presses? I'm already too strong for the dumbbells I have (2x40kg).

So I came here asking for substitute exercises.
Currently I'm thinking of switching DB BP to DB flies and DB french curls for the biceps. Good idea, yes/no?

Can you recommend a better substitute?

90 bucks a month for the gym? wtf. no gym is worth that...

unless of course, the trainers blow you after your workout

Sadly they don't. They have an olympic pool + stadium thought.

flyes and pullups sound good for that, and do weighted and elevated pushups perhaps on one of the other days

Work up to planche push ups OP.

I pay $450 AUD for 4 people for a gym with a olympic pool and a stadium.

I don't understand the abbreviations you use in your question (I'm sure they're really obvious, but I'm oblivious) so I'm going to answer SQUATZ.

Better?

bench flies would be a good option, but even better would be to get or make a set of adjustable DB (rosstraining) and just add more weight. I am thinking you have the solid hex type ones now.

the only french press I know of is for triceps so I am not seeing why it would be a trade for benches.

planche pushups will keep almost anyone entertained for a long while. good suggestion.

Flies only work delts and the chest actively, the triceps is left out only serving as a stabilizer. So I thought about adding french curls for the triceps.

I'll add planche training to the workout for now, but I can't really use them as a substitute because I'm a bit too weak to do them yet.

get new dumbbells

or use sandbags if you're really cheap

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=qeu0owgh

here's a pdf that tells you how to make sandbags for weight lifting

you could hold a sandbag in each hand and do bench presses, or you could try to tie sandbags onto your dumbbells or something

Show me a link to a longer dumbbell handle on which I can add more weights in that case. The one i have (40cm lengh, 30mm diam) is already out of space.

i don't understand why people go to gyms that cost that much

for 2-3 months of the membership, you could build your own gym
