>>113249 Focus on distance, rather than speed. Yeah, speed can be important, but once you hit about 8 min/mile pace, that's good enough for general training. Build up a good distance base. Work up to doing 30-45 minutes a day, and then do an hour+ run once a week. If you can do this, you'll be in fantastic shape.
FWIW, I also have asthma and was running 100+ miles per week until I got hurt, so you can do it.
