hand weights Anonymous
So I'm trying to lose weight... in addition to starting the couch to 5k program (http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml) I was just given a nice set of hand weights which go from very small up to 15 lbs.

I was wondering how much I should push myself... I want to make maximum progress, but not injure myself. How many reps should I do? How many days per week? How often should I increase weight?

maximum progress + 15lbs hand weights = does not compute

Those shits are worthless, get a set of real adjustable dumbbells and a flat bench then get back to us

What kind of exercises are you planning on doing with those tiny weights? If you want to gain muscle you have to lift heavy weights with low reps. You could do 200 reps with those hand weights but it won't do you any good, you'll just be wasting your time that would be spent better outside jogging or something.

Unless you're a skinny, 6'0" 90 lbs. twig man or a 12 year old girl those weights are worthless, you already outgrew them yesterday.
