I was wondering /fit/, instead of running outside to lose some weight[since my body is a lake of fat], if I do some exercises at home[crunch, push ups etc], would it give me the same results? I especially want to burn those fat around the chest. I know that the spot reduction is a myth, but is running really the only choice? I'm not going to make any excuses why I don't want to run, so;

If you're heavy, running isn't a good choice in general.

Brisk walking, biking, and swimming are much better choices.

But you should be doing at least 40 minutes of good cardio every other day.

if you create some sort of circuit where you do all these house exercises (pushup, crunch, all the other stuff you wont do) in some sort of intense fashion that gets your heart rate up for an extended amount of time you should be good to go. will you walk? that will help too.

Well, that's not all that heavy, but I still don't recommend jogging. When done habitually, it's just generally bad for your joints. Personally, I swim.

Cardio strengthens your heart
Really hard cardio gives a good spike to your bmr
The stronger your heart, the more you can do, the less you PHYSICALLY FAIL AT FUCKING LIFE. Don't worry about how you look, I see a fat guy at the gym, and guess what? I don't have the same angry thoughts, I don't think they look like an affront to nature, I don't want them to become an hero just so I don't have to look at them, I just think "There's a guy that forgot to do his squatz."
Self esteem is a bitch when you look like a mirowaved Jabba the Hutt toy, but I guarantee you that no one is going to laugh, gym=/=highschool.
