sup /fit/
Now i have tried getting in a workout routine a couple of times, but lately because of my college studies i find myself with no time.

excuses aside, when i do manage to go to the gym, doing a slow jog on the no shock treadmills like the one showed, my heart rate would always be in the 170-180 area within one minute. Just to give facts, i am 5'8" and 220 lbs

Now some of my friends that go to the gym almost religiously say that this is dangerously high. so i gotta ask, how am i supposed to lose weight with cardio if i cant even do a simple slow jog without my heart rate skyrocketing like it does?

is there any other way to not have my heart rate go up so high so fast? or any kind of workout that is not too heart rate intensive but still helps with weight loss?

That is high but not unreasonable. If you hit 190 stop.

Suck it up, pussy. You're in college, so it's not like you're 40 and have to risk your heart blowing out on you. Give her hell!

If you are breathing so hard that you can't talk (with some effort of course) then you are pushing yourself too hard. There are target heart rate calculators online that you can use to figure out about what you want to hit for a good cardio workout. (Try different ones to get a basic average idea).
