ITT we post about our expired running shoes that we still run in anyways from time to time because no other shoes can replace them in terms of comfort.

These have been through over 750 miles of running, from starting me off on weight loss (dropped 50 lb in these), to controlling the unfortunate effects of binging, to running the LA Marathon. Also required an insole replacement. They're a lot dirtier than the picture may lead you to believe.

Now I'm mostly using vibram fivefingers.

I unfortunately have no pics, but they look a lot like those in OP
I've been using them for years, they are my "hard work", yet they've survived to other two pars that I use for light work, they are fucking awesome

These fucking godly pumas. Felt like running in nothing at all, nothing at all

Seriously, with pairs like this I curse not buying a second pair to keep until the first wear out - it's guaranteed you never catch an actual good shoe in stores again

How are those Vibrams treating you now? I want some.

I've been wearing the same pair of Nike shoes every day for the last four years... I just recently started getting shin splits, and I read that it could be caused by wearing old shoes, so today I decided to run barefoot. I was amazed by how fucking good it felt.

I'll probably be getting them replaced eventually, but for now I'm just like... Fuck shoes.

They're great, but don't get the sprint version like I did--the strap is annoyingly unnecessary since the heel will be tight enough to keep your whole foot in. Also order a little smaller than the chart indicates for you--I had to return mine for smaller, and they're still slightly big on me.

Vibrams are definitely a different breed of running shoes. They make you use the area between the ball of your foot and your toes to push off, and that means using your toes to push off along with the ball. After using them, I see muscles pop up alongside my calves that I never even knew existed. Downside is they look ridiculous, but I've over that.

Vibram FiveFingers. They seem pretty badass. Does anyone remember the Nike Free shoes? The Nike Free was the first in recent memory that was marketed with the "barefot" concept. I bought into them, wishing to strengthen those auxillary leg muscles.

They fucking blow. The arches were unrealistically high, the fit was extremely tight, and worst of all:

The balls of the wearer's feet absorbed most of the shock. Since the Free shoes have VERY little cushioning, this means the shock is distributed directly upwards, usually ravaging the knee if the shins survive the carnage.

Please tell me the Vibrams are better than the Nike Free shoes, because I look forward to a minimalist shoe that actually works.

Those Nikes sound horrible. The Vibrams don't have any arched cushioning, or really any cushioning at all for that matter--just some sort of rubber which keeps debris from injuring your soles. The glove-like toe pockets make it so you can move your toes around freely and aid in the running movement, which makes it so the impact force transfers to your calve muscles, or at least the ones connected to each individual toe that you never get to work out/flex when you run in standard shoes. It's like how forearm muscles are connected to your fingers.

Whoa, you donkey, I was being NICE. I didn't say a thing about those butt-ugly webbed duck shoes' appearance.

And I love barefeet running, I just don't do it long distance for obvious reasons. Your product fails and is unnecessary.

So why don't you take your stand down, and push your wheelbarrow of retarded shoes back from were you came from.
