It's even worse when fat people are niggers or spics. Listen to that negress from the city council complain about there being no grocery stores nearby.

Why would there need to be? It's supply and demand like that guy said. If people are willing to get in their car and go to a drivethrough, they can drive five measley miles to get healthy groceries every week.

As usual, the real culprit is lazy, fat excusemaking.

I got a friend whom I convinced to get a membership at a gym, however he keep making up excuses not to come. The lastest one is simply "I don't have time" yet if you look at his xfire profile he have played over 50 hours of WoW the last 7 days

It's funny how every single fat person has some fucking excuse for being a disgusting piece of lard. Staying fit and in good health is not easy for anyone and it really pisses me off when fatties try to say that lean people have it somehow easier since we have better genes or faster metabolism or whatever nonsense they can come up with.

Is it so goddamn hard to fucking slap yourself in the face and stop eating that garbage and start going to the gym?! And if so, stop fucking complaining about being fat, it was your own choice to be a disgusting pig, not mine.

He eats like a pig and doesn't watch what he eats and just goes to the gym. WENT to the gym, I should say. He stopped.
He stopped, complained that he didn't get results.
He did all the exercises wrong, only went 3 times a week because he thought he would overexert himself, and still ate the same shit he did before he started going.

There's a drive thru on every corner, easier to stop there on the way home from work then go out of the way to buy groceries that they don't have the energy to cook anyways. But the fat spic mom should make healthier choices, get chicken from el pollo loco or wraps from subway instead of fucking big macs and fries.

And the city is retarded for making a law against new fast food restaurants, that doesn't help anyone get healthy food, the smart thing would be to give some kind of a business incentive to open a grocery store in the area.

Most rage inducing moment I've had in a while:

Just today in my college algebra class. I see this fat girl named Natalie drinking a fucking diet coke. What does she pull out of her purse next? A fucking bag of regular Doritos and some kind of cake bar.

The funny part is, all the thin girls are always seen drinking regular soda and shit. All the fatties are lugging around diet soda and water, but it isn't exactly helping them.

Fat people can be good looking. The thing here is that you can see a fat girl with an amazingly hot face and know she'd be a 9/10 if she lost weight.

I feel bad for the people born with bad faces. Being ugly is there forever. At least fat people with good faces can diet.
>>
The fact of the matter is, everything's an excuse, and no matter what, you can ALWAYS lose weight. About 2 months ago I was 280 lbs, 5 foot 9, and a total weakling to boot. Socially I was fine, I was the "funny fat guy" and people liked, but I had no confidence in myself, turned down a girl who asked me out (hard as that is to believe) because I felt I wasn't worth her time, and was an emotional eater. I always made excuses why not to do a diet, because I had to do this or that, or a holiday was coming up, etc etc. Finally I decided I didn't want to be obese anymore so I started body for life. I started going to the gym every day and eating a lot better, and in two months I've lost 80 lbs of fat and gained 30 lbs of muscle. I've still got a ways to go, and I'm still chubby, but I feel so much better about myself now, and the increased energy is AMAZING. Honestly I'm still not ready to try and date, but soon I should be able to finish off what weight I have left. There's no excuse not to lose weight, it's the best thing I've ever done. I'm going to college full time and I still manage to stick to my diet and exercise, it's not that hard to work around a busy lifestyle. For all the lazy obese people, all I have to say is just DO IT.
>> Anonymous
I hate fatties because they are lazy niggers. I used to be chubby but I realized where I was going and worked hard to be healthier. skinnyfags are also gross. no excuse for either; just spend 15 mins a day working out not a big deal

Yeah, well those same fat people probably hate you for your genetics and metabolism.

The worst thing EVER though is normal looking people who are such attention whores that they constantly bitch about being fat, when it's clear to everyone else that they're completely fine. Everyone is so fucking selfish these days. Some chick will get emo because "BAWWW I WEIGH 135 AND NOT 120 IM SO FAT BAWWWW" and then doesn't even bother noticing that people out there weigh over 500 pounds and have severe eating disorders.

Remember, no matter how bad you think you have it, whether you want to gain or lose weight, there's always someone out there about 100 times worse off than you. You can cry me a river about being 125 and not being able to gain weight, but stop and think about people in Africa who have nothing. And Mr. 200 pounds who cries about his semi-beer gut, fuck you, go watch a documentary about a 900 pound bed ridden person and realize you're completely fine. Be glad you can function in every day life, there are people out there who can't even walk.

Usually when people do that, it's just a roundabout way of trying to insult other people's weight. When someone is 10 pounds overweight and they're talking about how fat they are, look around: chances are, whoever's listening to them is a lot more than 10 pounds overweight.

Think about it...
>>
>>328072
>>328078

Dead serious. I was 280 lbs in the start, now I'm 230. According to the scale we have that measures muscle and everything I've gained 30 lbs of muscle which means I lost a total of 80 lbs of fat. Of course I could've lost some weight in muscle to start, then regained it. The thing is as a young kid I had a demonic metabolism, I ate like crazy and never went about 70 lbs, but I took a medicine that slowed it down called respiridol for my ADHD (probably spelled the medicine wrong), and now that I'm active again my metabolism is back up to speed.

What pisses me off about fat people is that they TRY TO MAKE YOU FAT TOO.

What I mean is, I don't keep shit like cookies, chocolate, cake and soda (particulary soda with sugar/HFCS) in the house. I don't even keep potato chips, or any sort of fast food around. My cupboards and fridge are full of complex carbs, fruit, lean meat and raw ingredients to make decent food.

My wife's fat friends think it's a great idea when they come round to drop off a "present" like a huge box of Oreos. My in-laws complain when they stay at our house that there are no cookies/biscuits to eat, so we have to buy some to satisfy their fat faces. My brother-in-law thinks he's doing me a favor buying me a 20oz Coke and chocolate bar.

And they all can't understand how come me and my waifu aren't fat.

Everyone is insecure. If everyone was secure with themselves, nobody would ever seek to improve in any walk of life.

The moment you become completely secure with yourself is the moment you stop doing anything beneficial for yourself. If you become secure in the business world, you'll never see a promotion.
>> Anonymous
>>328059

WRONG, anonymous. That "be thankful for what you have" mentality is a gateway to apathy and sloth. You sack on the couch and have another beer simply because you can remember you'll never be at the bottom of the barrel no matter how hard you try (or don't, I should say).

Everything is relative to your own abilities, it's not a measure of what a miserable state most of Africa or that guy that needed a stomach stapling to live is. The thing that bothers myself and a lot of /fit/ isn't status, but effort. People can always improve themselves, it's a matter of willpower. A lot of people lack that willpower, and they deserve no sympathy.

Also, I raged at metabolism and genetics.

also the "not enough time" excuse is huge bullshit
i dont care how busy you are. you can at least prepare some food once in a while.
>> Anonymous
>>328223

Not exactly true. When you mention security, I think of a play between fear and desire. This is a great motivator. However, some people I believe can become comfortable enough in themselves and their surroundings to be secure, yet understand a need to reach greater heights, not our of fear but a belief in bettering themselves.

I don't know, maybe it's really the same thing. At any rate, I'm still one of the insecure ones.
>> Anonymous
>>328233

I've had this problem too, and I've been thinking about it. The conclusion I've come to is that I don't think I can have fat friends anymore, and I can't date fat girls anymore.

I've tried so hard to be unaffected by my weight loss. But it affects other people, and I can't change that. When I'm out with fat friends, they always want me to eat pizza... the usual sabotage shit: 'You're in such good shape, you can eat whatever you want.' etc

Fat girls I date, too. Eventually, they bring up the gym, and they're really insecure about their bodies.

So I think the solution is just to avoid fat people if you want to avoid their fat bullshit.
>> Anonymous
>>328236
>also the "not enough time" excuse is huge bullshit

So fucking true. If you have enough time to eat shitloads, you have time to eat less.

They just can't be bothered thinking things through and planning ahead. E.g. it takes less time to make 5 sandwiches for your working week than it takes to go out to buy lunch every day.

That's called the hierarchy of needs. A simple way to explain it is starting off with a starving guy in Africa.

He eventually gets food for his family and they are lucky enough to leave Africa. They come to the US or something and get good jobs, healthcare and nutrition, but now in this society they have new problems. Despite the fact they're now healthy, they're dealing social issues, debt, and a fucked up economy. It's pretty bad for them now, despite being an improvement from Africa.

And then say the African dude comes out of the middle class. Now he's in a corporate environment and that brings its own problems that he has to worry about. He keeps stepping up, but faces new shit at every rung of the ladder. So he has to focus on the most important things at hand.

Also, genetics play a role. I'm not trying to be insulting, but if you learn about how genetics work you can see that genes can easily be mutated in one lifetime. A parent gets fat out of laziness, but now their kid's genes are telling their kid's body to store body fat more easily and crave certain foods more than others just because their parents did. It's the same thing as drug addiction being passed on to the next generation from drug addict parents. It's not a 100% factor, it's more like 15% or so, but it's fairly significant. Obviously, a kid can grow up with fat parents or alcoholic parents and not fall prey to these lifestyles, but the genes that their parents gave them will make them naturally more vulnerable to overeating or alcoholism.
>> Anonymous

>>328253

Actually, dumbfuck, it does. Genetics are easily changed in one lifetime by your behavior.

Smoking addiction? You get addicted due to a genetic change after experiencing cigarette smoke.

Changing genes is not always a 1000+ year evolution. Some very simple genetic changes can occur based on the way you treat your body and you pass those on to your kids. Take a biology class for fuck's sake.
>> Anonymous
>>328263

We can simplify that even further.

Fat people look desperately for shortcuts. The reason they're fat is because they don't do anything the hard way. They do only what feels good and avoid what doesn't.

It's easy to go to a drivethrough. It's harder than washing and cutting up vegetables and making a casserole.

It's easy to spend your lunch hour eating a hamburger and smoking on a bench with your co-workers. It's
harder to spend your lunch hour getting a workout in and then eating a chicken salad from a cooler you made the night before.

tl;dr People who take the easy way out are fat people.

>>328284

Someone better call the "go to fucking college you dumbass"bulance.

If you knew one iota about genetics, you'd know that gene mutation can often occur on small scales very quickly. Alcohol abuse causes genetic mutations which is responsible for the addiction. It has both biological and emotional origins. A child of an alcoholic has to fight both genetics and the social aspect of growing up around alcoholics. The same is true of obesity and overeating.

But, yeah, you're right. The people with Ph.Ds from my college and the research done on this at Harvard is all wrong. The jobless kid who lifts 15 pound weights and acts hard online is clearly a genius about genetics.

Lol, no. You're confusing gene mutation with gene expression.

There are plenty of hormonal genetic defects that can cause a strong predisposition towards obesity.

Usually, without fairly strong treatment, there's not much those people can do about it.

Well, to have a true physical addiction to something, you must have physical withdrawal effects.
By definition, alcohol and weed aren't addictive.

Agreed, however, it only puts them at a disadvantage. Having genes that predispose a slow metabolism and increased fat storage does not mean you have to fuck yourself over by eating a terrible diet high in fat and calories.

Come on, we've all known this shit for years. Some kids are naturally twigs who eat 5000 calories a day and don't gain a fucking pound. Other kids blow up overnight when they break 2000 calories. People need to be responsible enough to care for their own needs. If you know your body gets fat easily, don't fucking eat McDonald's and slam beer all day. Simple.

While genetics PRIME you for obesity, they don't CAUSE obesity unless it's related to a fucked up thyroid or something. Obesity is still caused by taking in too many calories and not burning enough off. Your amount of calories will vary based on your body and activity level, so be responsible enough to find out what your body is capable of handling.

Me? I know I'm primed to be fat easily. I got fat really quickly in high school and I didn't even overeat that much. I never touched delivery or fast food, never drank booze, rarely drank soda, was on the track team, etc. I still was about 30 pounds overweight by graduation, so I decided to stop this shit before it got out of hand. Personally, I have to eat a VERY clean diet and cardio a lot to stay at a low weight. Fuck, other kids in high school would hit up buffets and pound Big Macs all day and still weigh 120 pounds soaking wet. I was envious of that, but I accepted nature.

I naturally have a slow metabolism and I'm naturally "endomorphic". I'm still thin, though, because I eat clean enough so that my genes don't get a chance to make me fat.

>> Anonymous
>>328728

A substance does not need to be physically addicting to cause physical withdrawal symptoms, fool.

Alcohol does not cause a physical dependency, but the withdrawal symptoms are largely physical. You get weak, you get shaky, you get headrushes a lot, you're tired a lot, you can even die due to a chemical imbalance in your brain that is caused when it stops receiving alcohol immediately. Serious alcoholics often have to "step down" from their alcoholism because immediately ceasing to drink can really fuck them up.

Weed is not as harsh, but has some similar physical withdrawal effects.

All that mass gained on bulking routines is only partially muscle, else everyone would be a competitive bodybuilder.

Oh, an Internet tough guy who likes to try to spit in the face of science because he doesn't understand it due to having a pea-sized brain. Let me educate you, dickshit:

Alcohol's primary effect is the increase in stimulation of the GABAA receptor, promoting central nervous system depression. With repeated heavy consumption of alcohol, these receptors are desensitized and reduced in number, resulting in tolerance and physical dependence. Thus when alcohol is stopped, especially abruptly, the person's nervous system suffers from uncontrolled synapse firing. This can result in symptoms that include anxiety, life threatening seizures, delirium tremens and hallucinations, shakes and possible heart failure. The GABAA receptor is one of two ligand-gated ion channels responsible for mediating the effects of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), the major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain.

There, faggot. It imbalances the chemical GABA in your brain, which can have fucking lethal results when GABA begins being reproduced after immediate alcohol cessation. You. Fucking. Lose. Nigger.

It's not though. McDonalds isn't cheap... do you know how many pounds of vegetables, pounds of rice and pounds of ground beef a family could buy for the cost of a couple family meals at McDonalds? Enough to feed themselves for the whole week.

It's not a matter of economics. If someone tells you it's about economics, they're fat apologists or they have something to gain. It's a matter of laziness.

Poor people eat Big Macs instead of tuna casseroles because it's easier and it tastes better. They don't care about the short-term consequences. It's likely one of the reasons they're poor - they're not smart enough to understand suffering in the short-term as a long-term investment for their future. They just want something and they want it now and they don't give a shit about what the consequences are.

Also, 'poor people' seem to be good at finding money for crack and booze. Here's a secret: people can always find money for the things they really want. When they've spent all their money on their vices, THEN they start whining and complaining and begging for food stamps.

Fucking niggers.

Though I agree with your latter point, I don't know about the first.

In this market, processed foods are cheaper than healthy wholesome foods, whether you're talking about McDonalds or just shitty processed foods in the supermarket.
It's highly subject to the existing production infrastructure and economies of scale.
I noticed that once I started doing my own shopping.

It's also a matter of economics in that it's socio-economically linked. Poor people are generally less educated and thus less likely to make the correct choices for healthy living. This is also compounded with their social status making them less healthy in other ways,

I'm not talking about the expensive organic stuff that Starbucks-types buy. I'm just talking about standard, basic foods. Just ordinary vegetables, rice and ground round you can buy from Wal-Mart or whatever. Of course, you can't buy them in single portion quantities (that would be expensive), but assuming poor families actually do something responsible and save their pay check and literally invest in food (e.g. buying a 50 pound bag of rice is cheaper than buying a 5 pound bag, in terms of price per pound), the cost will work out to cheaper per week than eating fast food all the time.

It's a myth that healthy food is expensive. It's still cheap. You can't get the best food... if you're poor, you won't be able to afford organic fruit or extra lean ground chicken breast, but everyone who spends their money responsibly can afford GMO fruit and cheap ground beef.

I'm not sure what your definition of hardcore pothead is, but I'll have to assume someone whose lungs have become so accustomed to THC that they can't breath normal oxygen and drown if they aren't sucking on a spliff. Because that's about the only way someone could be physically addicted to pot.

I'm not disputing that, but there is simply no way to get physically addicted. Grab some dreadlocked hippy pothead off the street and lock him in a room with just food and water and he'll maybe have trouble sleeping and become a bit grumpy, but he won't get the shakes, won't have hallucinations, won't get paranoid delusions etc. The worst "withdrawal symptom" he could experience is a headache.

I've known alcoholics and smack fiends, and I know how crippling a physical addiction can be. So it makes me sick to see people compare that with a pot dependency.

I know what your saying, but you can't judge whether or not somethings an addiction because its withdrawal symptoms aren't bad. I mean, my mom is an alcoholic and when she went through withdrawal, she was irritated and had urges to drink. My friends grandfather was an alcoholic. He got sober and died from his withdrawal symptoms. Just because you aren't super dependent on something doesn't mean the dependency doesn't exist.
>> Anonymous
>>329805
We'll just have to agree to disagree then. For me pot will always go hand in hand with mental dependency, but it definitely does not qualify as physical addiction.
>> Anonymous
Whether or not pot is physically or mentally addictive, we can all agree that it's a bad thing and is not condusive to physique goals.

Like fatties rationalizing food, if someone tells you pot is a good thing, they're just making a rationalization (trying to justify something that was originally arrived at through a different mental process) because they want to smoke it.

Pot lowers testosterone, increases appetite and promotes negative social associations. And don't you dare bring up Arnold smoking it unless you had Arnold's genetics, let alone drugs.

I smoke pot regularly, I also drink. I'm sure that I'd be further along in my fitness goals if I stopped doing both, but I'm still very pleased with my progress. It isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I'd never call it a good thing either. Like all drugs, there are pros and cons, and I leave it to the individual to make up their mind if they desire the pros and can live with the cons. Me, I can definitely live with the cons and I enjoy the pros. A lot. If I lived in the US and had the specter of serious jail time hovering over me I'd quit in a second though.

Pro-tip: Testosterone by itself does not cause hair loss. An enzyme type II 5-alpha reductase is what causes testosterone to convert to that nasty hormone called DHT. Whether or not you produce that enzyme and how much of it you produce is primarily hereditary.

It converts testosterone, obviously. But your testosterone levels don't matter (unless they're at female levels) because the amount of DHT produced is determined by the enzyme, not the amount of free testosterone circulating in your body.

>we can all agree that it's a bad thing

I don't think we can.

>Pot lowers testosterone
I'll give you that. However, one negative aspect does not automatically make cannabis an overall bad thing.

>increases appetite
This is not necessarily a bad thing. Someone like myself, who is VERY active and has a fast metabolism needs large amounts of calories. Getting the right amount of carbs while training 2 hours a day and eating natural, whole foods with tons of fiber is not exactly the easiest thing to do. I'm 5'10'' and 150 lbs and I shoot for about a 4000 calorie diet. That's the amount of energy my body performs best at, and I haven't gained weight even after eating like this for months. Without cannabis I just don't have the appetite to eat that much goddamn oatmeal, chicken and spinach.

>promotes negative social associations
Now this is just pure conjecture. I'm not some dumb kid looking to get high just for the hell of it. I'm a healthy responsible adult who has taken an honest, critical look at my cannabis usage. And I do not in any way believe it's negatively impacting my social life. Period.

Also, I primarily cook with cannabis rather than smoking it, bypassing the negative effects on my lungs completely.

In short, cannabis is not automatically bad for every person who uses it.

Pro-tip: To buy marijuana, you have to talk to a drug dealer. Drug dealers are nefarious. Your association with nefarious people degrades you.

Unless you're growing it yourself. Which is a federal offense in many countries, which makes you a criminal, which makes you nefarious. Though not quite as nefarious as someone who packages drugs and sells them like a commodity.

You know what I'm saying, brah? I know there's nothing *inherently* wrong with marijuana. But my point is that the associations it brings and the people who tend to be attracted to it are not likely to bring positive thoughts and admirable role models into your life.
