Bread is bad for you. Eat tortillas, eat potatoes. Avoid bread.

If you feel the need to eat bread, make sure it's hard and tastes like wood chips. If not, take>>75428's advice

If you MUST have bread, make sure it's whole-wheat. At least then it'll have some healthy fiber in it.
>> Anonymous
If you avoid bread what the hell do you breakfast with?
>> Anonymous
>>75449
oatmeal + milk + whey

Oats (the big ones, not the powdery instant crap) + yogurt.

I do occasionally eat rye bread, but bread is mostly bad.

hi atkinsfags, bread isn't bad for you if it's whole wheat. fucking fags act like the shit is as bad as arsenic.

What part of 100% whole wheat bread didn't you read?
>>75450
Kinda hard to put sandwich meat on two slices of oatmeal for lunch @ work isn't it?
>> Anonymous
>>75493
Shred the meat and mix it with the oatmeal, put into a lunchbox. As an added bonus, your coworkers will think it's weird so they'll be less likely to steal it. Tastes good though.

rye isn't as good for you as whole wheat, but i don't care the taste is fucking worth it.

it's not bad for you though, just don't have 3 slices with every meal or something retarded like that

I make my own. No preservatives and I know exactly all the shit that goes into it.

I cycle through Oroweat varieties--I had whole wheat, dark rye, Russian Rye, now I'm on Jewish Rye. Next up is pumpernickel. It's very good for you, high in fiber, no HFCS, etc.

Which doesn't qualify it to be shat on when a thread is made. You have to consume everything in moderation, so for someone to say "bread is bad eat something else" is quite ridiculous

>>75544
If you don't make all of your foods then I don't see the point

Nature's Own Whole Wheat. 40 calories per slice.
>> RSI guy !HjbWRiSTJ.

luncheon meats sadly have preservatives. consider they can sit much longer without "expiring". fresh is best. skip it and bake, boil, or simmer something like fish, eggs, or lentils.

>>75424
i've gotten various whole wheat breads, i don't really recall seeing high fructose corn syrup on them. is yours a freakish anomaly, i'd avoid the whole brand if it's there. try another brand.

What about potato bread?

Fuck. Don't avoid bread. People have been eating it for over 1,000 years. It's fine. Yeah, avoid heavily processed stuff, but that is in no way limited to bread.

I eat bread all the time and I'm fuckin fine. Maybe it has some effect at like meta-level body building, but I'm fairly certain most of us are normal people and not professional lifters...

The only thing I do is when I have some kind of sandwich, I tend to use only one slice of bread and fold it over like a taco so it counts out some calories.

I cut bread from my diet and lost a solid 8 pounds in 3 weeks.

Same thing would have happened if you cut out all meats. The body will drop weight whenever your diet is changing vastly. It's a survival mechanism in that your body will start consuming more stored fat when it notices important staple foods have immediately been removed from its diet...it thinks it is being starved.

meh, whole wheat. doesn't change much for me.

i don't eat bread because i am very carb intolerant. it hurts my stomach, gives me headaches and fucks my concentration, puts me to sleep. i also cut rice, pasta and potatoes out of my diet. i can now concentrate throughout the day, don't feel ill half the time and have much more energy. bread has always made me feel ill. my brother is also completely gluten intolerant.

my breakfast is usually a four egg omlette. fuck yeah.

despite everyone's love of blanket statements, some people just don't tolerate carbohydrates as well as others. lactose intolerance is one example of this. carb tolerance apparently varies greatly with ethnic group and there is a bunch of evidence to support this. i have seen mostly lactose intolerence work, as this is probably the better funded and easiest to find.

>>76306
yeah, only not. breads, particuly the modern refined ones, illicit a large insulin response, and the more you eat the more insensitive you become. insulin insensitivity is directly linked to obesity and related problems. black black bread, like the traditional russian and german ones don't have this issue. but they still don't agree with my digestion so i don't bother.

and as for the being eaten for thousands of years, this for europe is not true. large scale wheat agriculture is a fairly recent occurance, which is considered one reason why gluten intolerence is so common in europeans, and is becoming more so.

the enitre carbohydrate spectrum is intolerant to you? I've never heard of this before. I'm inclined to suspect your more or less tolerant to specific things in or about the carbs, like very complex or very simple, or your body doesn't make enough lactase to digest the lactose in milk.
>> Anonymous
>>76499
i'm not lactose intolerant at all, i was simply using that as another example.

We always eat Nature's Own Whole Wheat at my house. I looked, and it doesn't have HFCS.

From the bakery. better than other name brand stuff

What's the big deal everyone has with HFCS? Corn's not bad for you, stop worrying about stupid shit.

Pepperidge Farms remembers.

I eat the 45 calorie Sarah Lee bread. The whole wheat with honey or Multigrain stuff is all I will touch. The enriched white/wheat versions can go to hell.

It doesn't have any HFCS in it, although it did have a small amount for a few months after they changed the name last year. But now it doesn't have it anymore according to the ingredient list.

If I have the cash I'll go with oroweat breads. If I'm feeling really good I'll just go to my local Albertsons and hit up the Bakery for some bread.

When I'm not lazy I'll make my own whole wheat tortillas and bread, but that's rare.

People who say bread is bad for you are the same fags who say milk is bad for you.

Whatever mother or father brings home. Usually budget brown toast. It's fine for everyday sandwiches. or wholemeal(wheatmeal as they call it) buns. White rolls. Burgan rye sometimes, real oldschool wholegrain bread sometimes. Dark rye. all sorts of shit. it's just the real nice wholegrain and rye stuff costs a lot of money compared to the wheatmeal stuff. And quite frankly its not that bad where I live. Not too many additives, just a couple of preservatives to stop it getting stale so fast and an "improver" to stop it crumbling apart. (if you've ever made your own you will know that sometimes shit just doesn't wanna be sliced and falls to bits in your hands. Thats about it.
