Hey /fit/, quick question. Will cutting out all the soda I drink help me lose weight? I only drank about three cans a day, besides the junk food. I replaced it with water.

I think dropping junk food would be more resourceful

Yes.

Yes. Esp. if you drank regular soda.

Keep your body hydrated and you should drop up to 5 lb in water weight.

Thanks. I'm 6' 4" and about 270. I don't really have the time or capacity to make myself something to eat every day. (roommates steal food and control the fridge, and work is demanding) I have a minifridge but I try not to keep anything in it except drinks. If it's there, I'll eat it.

i think a survey found that cutting out soda will cut away 10 pounds every year, with no additional excerise.

Yes.

Conversely, if I'm looking to gain weight, would it help to consume whole a few sodas daily?

If you're looking to add fat, yes. If you're looking to add muscle, probably not. You need protein and calories to build muscle, soda is pure calories. It's highly unlikely you'll be getting enough protein without already getting enough calories (the only situation when it may help).
