Today is day 42 since I started running.
I run intervals (5 min warmup, 1 min around 7 mph, 2 mins around 3 mph, repeat until 20 mins are up)

According to the treadmill readout, that's about 1.33 and 230 calories. But I know intervals burn more. Approximately how much am I burning? I eat pretty well, mostly homemade food, I avoid sweets, fast food, soda, etc.

tl;dr How much more does HIIT running burn vs. steady state?

A lot of the extra boost from HIIT as opposed to jogging will come from an increase with your metabolic rate afterwords. I don't think it's that important to know the 'exact' number of calories you're burning, just as long as you realize your goal and you adjust your workouts and meals accordingly.

HIIT is REALLY pushing it. not going ..11.2km an hour =/

7 MPH is all?If youre tryin to lean out with HIIT,you need to push yourself really hard, atleast 10 MPH+

this is not HIIT, just IT.

HIIT involves "high intensity"

you need to go faster and harder during your intervals.

HIIT you should be pushing towards 14 MPH - 15 MPH for the first 2 intervals if your already pretty fit, then at the end should be around 10 MPH or 8 depending. At the end anyawy you should be FUCKING DRAINED. and I seriously mean Drained, if you aren't then you just did it wrong and you aren't pushing yourself to the limit.

HIIT is a joke on a treadmill,if youre going to do it then go outside and run.
