Good day /fit/s. Oatmeal.

w/ Water? w/ Milk? Sugar yes/no?

I know every sugar is bad for you, but without at least 1 small spoon per plate I can't get it down my throat. And I prefer water over milk since I'm not a big fan of milk in the first place.

Honey > sugar
Milk > water

OP here, in before people whining rather than answering. I know not EVERY sugar is bad for you, but a normal diet already has all the sugar you need.

Is milk generally better for you than water or do you prefer it that way?

And thanks for the tip on honey, I'm gonna buy some. It's healthier than sugar.. right?

Personally milk gives me a runny nose, so I just cut it from my diet other than in coffee from time to time. Maybe it's just my body, but I'm not personally of the opinion that milk is all that healthy for you. Shit probably has hormones and estrogen up the ass too for all I know.

never had it with water and can't imagine liking that things.

On weekends when i have time I prepare it with brown sugar or honey some cinnamon.
Add some almonds, walnuts, raisins. and some protein shake on the side for muscle repair. mmm Delicious

I used to basically barf even at the thought of having oatmeal with water, but having given up milk I tried it with water again and it was actually really damn good. The oatmeal sheds it's powder or whatever surface crap is on it and the water becomes somewhat milky on it's own, so it's almost like a different kind of milk rather than eating oats soaked in clean water. Just have to put in enough water or the oatmeal turns into a solid gooey material. Still tastes good, but annoying as hell to eat.

I don't like the weird texture milk gives my oatmeal, so I stick with water.

Also, get Kashi Oatmeal, the truly vanilla or whatever. Shit has more protein and fiber. I use Splenda packets with my oatmeal, by the way.

I do a little of everything. Cook your oatmeal with a 1:1 ratio of oats and water, then add some milk to your preferred texture. Also, sugar. If you can eat oatmeal without it, then go for it. But I needs my sugary oatmeal.

Also, nothing I've added to it -- besides sugar (and brown sugar) -- has made it taste better. Honey, syrup, cinnamon...all made it taste more like ass. But again, to each his own. Don't think honey is much better than sugar, though. As far as I'm aware, they're pretty much the same thing in different states.

Here's exactly what I do:

1 packet of oatmeal in a bowl
Add water
Mix in Kashi Go Lean Crunch (or whatever) cereal
Add skim milk

That's what I'm eating right now. It's possibly the greatest thing you'll ever eat.

My current recipe is
1/2 of the bowl 1 type of oats (small and soft)
1/2 of the bowl harder and larger oats
Some granola, some sugar, and half a grated apple

Add hot water to the top, stir up and dig in.

So THATS why my oatmeal's solid?

Fairly sure honey's healthier, googled it and blahblahblah more enzymes, promotes digestion, more natural and what not.

And do you 'cook' your oatmeal? I microwave it.

I prefer steel cut oats to oat meal. The texture's better and they have more fiber. I typically use a teaspoon of brown sugar in mine, but that's about it.

I microwave.

Oops, forgot to mention your comment about honey. It is basically sugar with an insignificant amount of other stuff that you can likely get from half a serving of vegetables. It is almost certainly a LITTLE better than sugar, but nowhere near enough to make it preferable over sugar for reasons other than taste.

Oatmeal + hot tap water + cheap add-in = OMNOMNOMNOM

Also, easiest breakfast to prepare (not counting grabbing unhealthy bagel from bag and eating)

how do you guys feel about these flavored oatmeal things? ive got a few boxes of Blue Berry Oatmeal and a big tube of normal old-fashioned oatmeal. I usually have a package of the blue berry and then add in a similar amount of normal oatmeal, because those packets just aren't enough.

Milk gives you a runny nose? Holy shit, you must be the weakest asshole in all of /fit/

I'm just guessing her.

Quaker Oatmeal sounds like the sort of meal a fatass american would eat for breakfast. I'm willing to bet that your "oatmeal" is made of mostly sugar and all that good bullshit.

That is if op pic is unrelated

PROVE ME WRONG

I go oatmeal with water, no salt. And dice an apple into my bowl before hand to sweeten, rather than that foul arse chemical sugar.

i usually add 1/4 a teaspoon of vanilla extract and a packet of sugar or splenda, depending on which one i stole from starbucks this week

>rather than that foul arse chemical sugar

chemical sugar, what the fuck are you on about. sucrose, oh no!!, man the fuck up. I use a teaspoon or two of golden syrup. fucken hell. it aint gonna hurt you.

or if your that concerned use a natrual sweetner like xylitol or eythritol. (prob spelt wrong) and dont worry, they are produced from natrual sources.

I've been using four packets of Splenda in my oatmeal about five times a week every morning for a few years now. Shit's so delicious.
