Well /fit/, as of today, I have stopped drinking Dr. Pepper, and pop in general.

How long until I stop craving this shit?
>> Anonymous
pop? wtf is pop? it's called soda, popfag
>> Anonymous
>>152901

Fine, Amerifag. Soda.
>> Anonymous
>>152901
Fuck you, it's pop. Unless you're referring to a flavor, suck as Creme Soda or grape soda. If it's just a general reference to soft drinks, it's pop, bitch.
>> Anonymous
never.

ITS CALLED SODIEPOP
>> Anonymous
After I stopped, I was craving it every 10 minutes. But, that's 'cause I drank about a litre every day for 5 days a week.
Feel better at the end of the day after not having any, though.
>> Anonymous
Try taking a caffeine pill for a week or two when you get cravings, that should take the edge off.
>> Anonymous
>>152913
How he fuck do you get in the habit of drinking a litre of pop a day?
>> Anonymous
>>152929
It happens. I used to do it.

I weaned myself off gradually. Cold turkey never works for me. I have a bit of tea now and then, but I've been candy water free for three months now.
>> Anonymous
>>152932
Well I know that a shit load of people must do it, but how do you start? Really
>> Anonymous
Couple weeks and you won't even want it.
Stay strong. A lot of us (including me) have quit soda.
>> limE !!301svOq+hlV
>>152955
This man speaks the truth.
If you stay strong enough you end up almost being disgusted by soda. Every time I see someone drinking pop/soda I feel a little sorry for them. Not because I look down on them, but because they don't know how bad it really is for their bodies.
Green tea(caffeine free!) makes you feel way better.
>> Anonymous
I've quit and fallen back.
OP reminded me though so I'm going to try to drink only water and some vegetable juice type stuff.
>> Anonymous
>>152934

Starts out with one a day with a meal. They grow to like it so they eat it with other meals. They get thirsty at work, so instead of getting a cup with water (lolspillz) they hit the vending machine. Etc etc in that fashion.

I, however, have never been addicted to it. I've gone from drinking plenty of it per day (never really noted the amount) to drinking none (jogging on Florida beach in mid summer...NEED WATER) to drinking a can or less per day. I really can't comprehend going through withdrawals because of the stuff.
>> Anonymous
Fellow quitsodafag here. I had a little slip up two days ago (75mls of coke) but I don't miss it at all. My teeth are so goddamn white right now.
>> Anonymous
OP here

I used to drink a pop as follows:

1 with lunch
1 with dinner
probably 2 more for snacks later

That's a case EVERY 3 FUCKING DAYS.
>> Anonymous
>>153013
Ditto. I now have a smile that would put the mongler to shame.
>> Anonymous
wtf as if it's addictive? i just stopped because i wanted to.

maybe it's the caffeine you crave, try going cold turkey on THAT and "pop" will seem like nothing
>> Anonymous
drink some fruit juice that tastes heavenly
>> Anonymous
I never get addictions.

I've abused my vicodin and quit 2 weeks later with no withdrawls.

Same with benzos.

I drank soda every day for the last 4 years and I can stop for a month + and not feel cravings. How the fuck am i imune to with drawls?
>> Anonymous
>>153129
"i can quit at any time" :p
>> Anonymous
yeah it's an awesome thing to quit so give it a week or so and find other outlets, and drink shit loads of water till you crave it. I do now.
>> Anonymous
>>153129
you don't have an addictive personality i guess?
I went cold turkey and just drink water now, stopped buying other drinks so it really wasn't hard at all.
>> Anonymous
>>153129
Same here. I smoked cigs pretty regularly for about a month... then quit cold turkey. Drank heavily almost every weekend with a few friends... stopped.... haven't had any alcohol except for an occasional beer once in a while. Weird.
>> Anonymous
I dont get addicted to any substance either. cigs, beer, caffeine, etc... nothing has made me "crave" it again later.

Instead I focus all of my addiction into one thin, and action actually: Masturbation. AWWWWWRITE
>> Anonymous
i've been off soda for a month and haven't had any cravings.

chocolate however...

Chocolate and soda are my weaknesses. i can go for a week or two without, then somehow i end up eating/drinkin it again.
>> Anonymous
For me it was about two weeks.

Easy: It is the ENEMY!

Not only does it go against everything you're working and striving for (producing less-than-intended results), it'll add back on fat when all those calories and sugars don't get burned, and if they do get burned it'll give you a quick burst of energy and then make you feel drained, minimizing your overall workout compared to what you COULD have accomplished. And it'll consume the water you're body would be using to help facilitate the building of muscle mass (dehydrates!). Soda laughs in your face everytime you look at it wantingly like that X-girlfriend who broke-up with you but then still used you from time to time just to get her quick fix, then would dump you the moment you start getting latched-on again.

IT IS POISON! DO YOU LIKE DRINKING POISON?! THROW OUT THAT CASE YOU JUST BOUGHT AND SMASH THEM IN THE STREET!
>> Anonymous
>>154329
Exactly. This shit is poison.

The only bad part about quitting is caffine withdrawal, but you can wean yourself off that with coffee or tea. Eventually you will see soda in the store and won't even be able imagine buying it.

Two years ago I would drink more than 2L of DrPepper a day, because I had $5 lunch money everyday and pop machines all over school. Once I got out of school it wasn't as readily available, so whenever my family got an actual 2L bottle of any pop it'd be gone by nightfall. Finally last December I decided to go on a low calorie diet, and completely cut pop out of my system. I craved it for about a week, but I just started drinking tons of water. I still have occasional cravings, but now I drink water all the time and I've actually lost about 40 pounds since my DrPepper-everyday days.
>> Anonymous
After kicking the habit for long enough, you'll notice an overall difference in taste if you ever do go back. I used to love Pepsi, but now it tastes like cigarette ashes.
>> Anonymous
What about diet soda? Is it possible to drink one a day or less without it fucking you up? I don't think it has high fructose corn syrup like regular soda does.
>> Anonymous
I never liked pop.
>> Free Pepsi !!iXxa+hO94Mg

No, it is completely alright to drink up to 6 cans a day depending on your bodyweight. If it's diet, double that number.

Also, acquiring fats is good for lubricating your joints for whatever activity. A good source of fat is lard and butter. Have at least five to six servings of those a day, or margarine if you want to play it safe.

Also, Krispy Kreme donuts are baked, which most people aren't aware of. Baked = healthy, versus fried = unhealthy. You can treat yourself to one or two every day.

Lastly, walking is the most superior exercise. Your joints are too weak? Walking, baby. (And eat more fats to help those weak joints). Sitting down in front of a computer all day preserves the strength and calcium of your joints so you can store up some energy for tomorrow. Sit down and play on the computer for at least six or seven hours a day.

I'm with you OP, last night I had a Dr. Pepper and today I have had nothing but water. I have the worst headache (caffeine withdrawal). It takes me about 4 days to stop craving it but I guess it depends on how long you've been drinking it, and how much as well. I can tell you right now that I don't want anymore after having spend most of the day doing physical activity and now I feel so unbelievably dead due to the combo of withdrawal and having done a lot of exercise.

>>155271

Never drink diet soda. Aspartame actually causes sugar cravings.
>> Anonymous
>>155302

Drink some plain tea, fool. That'll stop those caffiene headaches and help you transition.

Is something like Sunny D better to drink than Soda/Pop/Assjuice?
>> Anonymous
>>155426
HELL NO
it as even more sugar in it than in pepsi and shit like that.

You should drink water and milk, that's all
>> Anonymous
>Is it possible to drink one a day or less
>>No, it is completely alright to drink up to 6 cans a day

Instead of being a sarcastic asshole how about addressing the question. I doubt drinking a diet soda every once in awhile will destroy your body. I'm just saying that it probably makes a better occasional treat than a regular soda.

Also, aspartame has never affected me negatively in the way that everyone always claims it will. I LOL at the "makes you crave sugar" because I hate sweet things in general and try to avoid eating them. That's why I drink sugarless drinks.

WTF
Actual fruit juice, that's like 100% juice with no added anything (which you'll probably have to go to a health food store or something to buy) is fine to have. Just don't drink it LIKE water. If you're going to be constantly drinking something it should be water.

And yeah, that Sunny D shit is mostly just corn syrup with vitamins added
>> Anonymous
>>155461
i forgot to mentin the fruit juice in my previous post but i was careful about it sinceif he was asking about Sunny D he would certainly a lot of fruit juice
