Been working out with varying intensity for like the last 5 years, started out doing a buttload of all kinds of weirdo-random curls/swings with a 5kg dumbell.
Increased with the years, I thought "lol, more reps = more POWAH!" and did like 100 curls with each arm with 16kgs, got corrected, did fewer with heavier weight, and shit went into overdrive. So, now I'm sitting here with 47cm thick upperarms, 34cm forearms, and pretty bitching stretchmarks. Woo.
