I'd say more like 9 months, if you work hard and lose 2 pounds a week. It's not terribly healthy to lose weight faster than that.
A pound of fat has about 3500 calories. So you'd have to burn through 7000 calories every week. That's an average daily calorie deficit of 1000 calories. Obviously it's a lot more complicated than that because of water, sugar, etc, but you get the idea.
Let's say you need to eat 2200 calories to maintain your weight. If you continue to eat 2200 calories a day, you'll have to run 5 miles a day to knock off two pounds a week. When you start to lose weight, you'll have to run even more.
