>>467989 It's best to avoid them if possible. There is no conclusive evidence either way that can get either side to shut up completely, but common sense will tell you it's not the best idea to put something in your body that is not recognized, nutritionally valuable, etc. If fruit is helping you stay away from soda, even the calories are worth it. If you can't stand water, enjoy a small 8 oz. glass of OJ or milk, or if you want something sweet, brew some hot tea with honey. Honey is excellent for you (or look up other natural sweetners). If you want it cold, just chill it after that. Enjoy.
Also, good job OP! You seem to have some common sense. I'm fat, too, and reached a weight that I didn't think possible. A lot of people, like>>467898, think that it requires effort, but it really doesn't at all. If you excessively eat food for one reason or another, over the years (especially if you metabolism starts slowing with age, etc. once you're out of puberty) it just happens. And if you don't care about your body (or at least care about food more), then it just happens with little to no effort. You seem to be approaching your situation sensibly with a good head on your shoulders. I don't have a gaming system anymore, but I used to do DDR back in the day at home and it was a GREAT workout. It might not be the best for someone in the normal weight range, but it's great for anyone overweight and quite effective. You can compare it to jumping rope or jumping jacks, both of which are exercise staples. Anyways... good luck! Keep updating us. =)
