In high school I did track. Now I'm 20 (male) and out of school. I still run and I've managed to get my 100m time down to around 10 seconds even. The current world record time is 9.69 seconds. I know I can get my time lower with enough training (especially given 4 years), and I'm fairly certain I could legitimately be in the next Olympics in 2012.

My question is how do I do that? I don't have a personal coach or anything, and I don't do any official running or whatever. How do I get to the Olympics? Are there like, open tryouts or something? Sorry if I seem like an idiot.

You seem like an idiot and you should feel bad.

carry on training, focus on things like ploymetrics

then somehow join a regional club/team and train with them. If the coach thinks your shit hot then they will persue your talent and take you to places where they think will be best suited for you! only a recognisable club though! not some shit!

You dont have to be in Soviet Russia to have olympics find YOU if you run a casual, uncoached 10s in the 100

the chance of this being true AND you being a 4channer is endless lulz

good troll tho, i lafed and lafed

10s flat isn't a good 100m time, it's an Olympic 100m final time.

I don't believe you have a 10-flat, enjoy your motorised pedal vehicle.

I promise it's true. For all that it matters right now, sure I could be lying. What's the point of lying anonymously though?

Hmm, what's the point of lying anonymously? New to the internet are we?

Anyway, if it's true you could go join any athletics club you want. Post name and I will look out for you at the next major athletics event...

Holy dicks that's a good time. Join an athletic club (make sure it's officially recognized) and train as hard as you can for four years.

Fuck 10 second, I did 9 the other day. Big whoop dee fucking doo...

You not only broke, but shattered the world record the other day? In history the 100m world records have never been beaten by more than 0.05 seconds, and you're saying you trashed the current one by almost an entire second? Yeah, okay champ.

I run a 9 second 100m backwards

>>299215
I run the 100m so fast that it actually takes me negative time. The last time I ran one, I ended the race in the year 1452, told everyone my name was leonardo da vinci, and drew some modern shit that made everyone flip out. Then I ran it backwards just as fast and was back in the present.

OP are you sure you timed it right? That seems to be a big problem unless you were professionally timed by someone who has the right equipment. Anyways, you can either approach a college coach or sign yourself for when they are conducting the Olympic trials. I'm to lazy to do it myself, but a google search would help more than the lulz addicts here.

This thread has me laughing more than it probably should.

OP that's ridiculously good. The only reason I even believe you is because you do sound kind of like a friendly dumb guy who is good at stuff like this. No offense.
>> Anonymous
If the OP is telling the truth, and managed to get a casual, uncoached 10 seconds flat in the 100m, he is going to be the Michael Phelps of running if he goes to the Olympics in 2012.

Dude! Did you see me on your way back to 1645? I was running a bit slower this time then our last race but man were you totally flying by! I thought for a second you were going to go past the bronze age. I swear.
