Too Much Energy, halp! Anonymous
So, whenever I have a good, serious work out (running for a couple of miles or lifting) I feel sort of tired right after, but about half an hour later I end up feeling even more energetic than I was before my workout. It's more than just a little pep too, I feel like I'm going to fucking burst and start bouncing off the walls. This is especially bad because it keeps me up well into night and I end up losing sleep.

Anyone experience something similar? Have any ideas? I can only imagine working out more would just lead to injury...

it's partly natural, but do you cool down and stretch after you work out?

Maybe you need to increase the intensity/frequency of your workouts?
If it feels good, keep moving.
I'm sure 3/4 of the people on /fit/ wish they had your 'problem'.

It means you worked out correctly, read, not to exhaustion like a bodybuilder. Your metabolism is up and everything works faster.

Why do you think the guidos go to the gym and then straight to da club.

actually, now that I think about it... I don't do much of a cool down. I kind of stretch a little, but nothing serious.

I'm sure that if those 3/4ths (probably more like 9/10ths) actually worked out, they'd notice that most of the time you get energy boosts from exercise.

Are you taking any supplements? Are you getting alot of caffeine in your diet? This phenomenon may or may not be related to working out.

nothing to do with energy, but running releases dopamine into your system. that's basically chemical joy.
