Hey /fit/, I was just wondering.. how do you psyche yourself up before a workout? I have trouble working up the energy for a workout. I don't get it... I LOVE working out because I always feel super energetic afterward, but beforehand I always dread trying to start. How can I change this?

Get loud, get angry.

Headbutt a wall.

Smack yourself.

Get loud, get angry.

Listen to angry music.

Get loud, get angry.

I'm the same way so I just have to force myself to do it. But I'm always happy that I did it and I feel way better.

What I do is just get ready. I put up my hair, change into my workout clothes/shoes, and get my water/towel. That way I know I've gotta get it done, because I didn't just get ready for nothing.

Maybe the OP should watch clips from Rocky.

I dont think people should have books. Movies and music are good, but reading distracts you and requires more concentration, so you slow down your work out. The people I see who can read while working out are barely moving.

Music, TV, movies, is all fine, because you either dont pay much attention or get amped up by the beats. My gym plays music and has TVs on, so I listen to that while I lift weights, then put my own music on (headphones) while doing cardio, if the radio station they picked sucks.

Haha, I do the same thing with the pictures of fit women. It makes me feel so horribly inferior that I absolutely have to go to the gym out of shame.
