Hey /fit/. I was watching the BBC's "My Super Skinny Me" or whatever and the girl tried to lose weight by basically making herself very cold. She did this by hanging out in a pool of what seemed to be very cold water. I guess the theory is that if your body is cold enough you start burning calories to try and heat yourself up. Would this have actually worked if she had done it enough?

Some people ease themselves into this to teach themselves to swim in icy cold water so they can swim across channels.

Ice bathing is healthy for you. Idiots who claim you will get pneunomia obviously dont know the first thing about it. Just dont stay in the water for more than 30 minutes, people around the globe cut a hole in the ice and bath in it. And not just in and out either, i know those of you that dont get snow for 4 months a year think cold is FUCKEN DEADLY MAAAN. But jesus christ, shut the fuck up cause you dont know jack shit.

Cold water is healthy, many endurance runners tap cold water and put ice cubes in a bath tub after a run and just sit there for 30 minutes.

I thought about this stuff too. Would your body burn more calories running on a summer day, or a winter morning?

Kinda relevant: Would working out in the cold then cause you to burn more calories?

It actually makes your body store fat under your skin if you try to do it frequently and for long times at once.

So no and yes.

You might loose some weight but you get fat under your skin to keep you warm.

no, when you run your body is overheating as it is, you'll just sweat less as its cooling down thanks to cold

would be just as safe to eat a tapeworm, which I hear is pretty popular with some rich cunts.

falcon punch needed.
