ok /fit/
i just started taking creatine 5 mg daily before workouts for 4 days,
for some reason i get terrible stomach aches and i even get tired during and after workouts

has anyone else experienced this before?
does anyone know how to fix this problem?
and am i taking the right amount at the right time?

Yeah, dont take creatine. From what i've heard, its a complete waste of money anyway. Just stick to whey and other proteins after workout, and dextrose before workout.

you're probably not drinking enough water, it can dehydrate you pretty easily

You need to drink A TON of water. At least a gallon a day. And don't drink a lot of water, then call it a day. You need to be constantly hydrated.

Doesn't really matter. It will only be used when your muscles need it. There's no evidence for either way. I usually take it afterwards with my protein shake.

Creatine WILL work as long as you're the one working hard. It's a supplement; not a magic sword. I remember this guy I worked with whining about how "CREATINE IS SHIT IT'S NOT WORKING AT ALL FUCK THIS" and one day I went into the weight room at work with him, and it was completely obvious why. Guy was doing like, 1 set of curls (10 reps of 10 pounds), 6 pushups, 15 situps, and running on the treadmill for 5 minutes.

But anyway, yes, getting gassy or the shits is common with a lot of people on creatine. Proper hydration is key, but you can also try switching brands. My first brand of creatine gave me upset stomach, but my second brand did not.

These are relevant to my interests, since I've been advised creatine here. Anything else interesting to know other than possible shits and gases?

I've never really gotten anything. I've got gas but I think it's from the protein shakes. The only real concern is dehydration. Drink at least a gallon of water a day.

Muscle Milk is a protein shake/weight gainer that the muscles use to rebuild once they have been fatigued. Creatine is used by the body to create the energy that muscles use, allowing you to lift more and do more reps without becoming as fatigued, thereby overloading the muscles more than they are used to.

I kind of got the impression that creatine bloats muscle fibres making them more rigid. This would make it easier to tense them so they are useful during work, and also more likely to tear them so they can repair (the point of training).
