Energy Anonymous
I'm trying to gain weight. Ive been working out for about 6 months. I started Stronglifts 5x5 2 months ago. Results are good so far. But I feel like I'm not working out as hard as I'm able to. My job is stressful physically, a lot of manual labor, which makes it hard to gain weight. Also its taking a lot of energy out of me.

I was wondering whats a good source of energy before you workout? I have a friend who is taking caffeine pills before he works out and it seems to be working. Does anyone else have experience with anything else like that?

Stay the fuck away from caffeine.

2 Tablespoons of honey will give you a very nice boost of energy. You can drink it straight which is how I usually do it. It works well just before a workout or a nice run. Also, bananas, they are a fantastic source of energy as well. Try making smoothies with 1 banana, 2 tablespoons of honey, orange juice, and ice.

hmm, Honey huh? I'll give that a try. I've heard good things about honey as well. (a lot more health benefits than caffeine of course).
