I do a ton of squats, and I have a large ass. It's probably because of the muscles though...
Some of my friends call me nigger butt.

Lose weight. That's all you can do. Muscles on your ass will just make it appear even bigger and you don't want that.
And before anyone starts talking bullshit: There's no such thing as turning fat into muscles.

I've heard anecdotal evidence of overuse injuries happening pretty quickly on that machine. You're better off with a jump rope and some running shoes.

And hey, YOU HAVE AN ASS. Lose weight and you'll have a very nice ass, but you'll still have it. You can't change what your genes gave you, so enjoy it. Some among us were born without asses.

No. So basically: Calorie deficite. If you work out at the same time it's alright, but the important thing will be that your body burns more energy than it consumes.
Consume 300-500 kilocalories less than you burn a day.
And don't bother trying to build up muscles during that time, because muscles will always be used as an energy source before the fat is touched, so you'll lose both, muscles and fat. Losing fat is always a longer process than people expect, but that way at least it's not unhealthy.
If you burn too much energy you'll get the Yoyo-effect. What that means is your body thinks there's just very little food around and as soon as you start eating normally again it'll start building up fat really quickly.
To work against that you should use one day of the week to eat normally, so your body doesn't start thinking it's time to save fat.

Low intensity cardio (ie. jogging) is the way to go if you want to tone up your butt.

Things to avoid would be sprints or any heavy weight lifting involving your glutes or thighs (such as the deadlift or squats)

Of course I am.

non-OP question: since i'm interested to drain my pooled fat, will I be starving every day trying loose fat-weight? is it very common everyone suffers for this, or mostly don't really notice the not-really growling stomach?
