Having a problem that I'm hoping you guys can help me out with. I've just been getting over an ear infection (Otitis, I believe), and while I haven't felt any irritation or pain from it, I still had excess earwax with drainage. Now, I would assume that this was something normal, but I've also noticed that the earwax that I swabbed out recently had been pretty wet and red. Now today after doing some swabbing, I just had the q-tip just straight out covered in blood. Problem is I haven't felt any kind of pain or anything.

Anyone know what this might be? I'm thinking possibly ruptured eardrum, but wouldn't that still cause some pain?

Probably some kind of open sore in the ear canal - ruptured eardrums HURT LIKE FUCK.

Go to a doctor, failing that, rinse out your ear with saline then stuff some sterile cotton into it.

You could also just be doing too much swabbing and have sensitive ears.
