MiR/VMax Weight Vests Anonymous
I've been looking into getting a weight vest, and I'm split between MiR and VMax. They seem to be the same quality, though I could save some money on MiR. I was able to find this review of the MiR vest, http://patrickhdonnelly.blogspot.com/2008/02/mir-weight-vest-review.html which was a million times more helpful than whatever they hat on their site (mirweightedvest.com), but I couldn't find anything similar for the VMax vest (weightvest.com). Does anyone have any comments on it, particularly anyone who has tried both?

Pic related, but black guy not included.

how racist.
a black wearing a bullet proof armor.
no seriously how good is a weight vest vs regular training? is it unconstructive to do both at the same time? also i finigered my asshole in the shower.

What can you do with a weighted vest? Except dragonball training.

Push-ups, pull-ups, jump squats, pistols, box jumps, handstand push-ups, lightly weighted runs or walks, planche work, etc. Or do you not think either is worth it?

I'm thinking of joining the military in 1-2 years too, which would make this useful.

But which one? MiR or VMax? I'm looking for recommendations from those who've tried them.

What do you guys think about making your own? Just light an old backpack or something and sew on pockets? What should I use as weights?

A backpack doesn't distribute the front/back weight as good as a vest which can cause problems. The whole point about using a vest over let's say ankle weights etc is that it distributes the weight evenly and doesn't stress the joints (knees etc). Also 50cent uses one which makes everyone's opinion a moot point.
Fuck ya'll.

Haha! You can only do 20 pushups?

Why would you use a weight vest when you can do 20 pushups. Get to 100 before you need an extra challenge

why would you do 100? do one armed pressups rather than useless reps.

Get to the point where you can do 100 easily, then add more difficulty

If you can do 50 pushups, you need to be adding weight, not more reps, more reps does nothing except slightly more endurance.

I have a 20lb one. I wear it on runs.

20lbs+uphill really does a job on calves

OP here.

I was thinking of going with something in the 40-50 range. Do you think more than 20 would be useful if I use it for the above mentioned, and not just for running? Especially preparing for rucksack marches, though I'm still debating the whole army thing.
