Theoretical question /fit/,
I was watching discovery channel and saw a fatty swim the english channel. He came out skinny (still old though)
If I bike for some obscene amount of time will my body burn as much fat as I have, or bleed my muscles dry and leave me a puddle of lactic acid and tears?

Your tears are salty and delicious to me. I must have them.

Close your eyes, seeker. Breathe deeply until your body relaxes. Now go deep inside your thoughts. Only you know the answer.

Exactly, I'd like to think if he can do it so can I, but I wanted /fit/s advice, since google didn't do shit.

are you sure he didn't lose 16 lb of body mass?

Yeah, I'm sure some of that 'fat' was muscle, but that would make it all more anticlimactic, wouldn't it?

This wasn't just your average fat guy looking to lose weight, it was someone who had purposely gained weight, eating the proper foods, for a single swim. He'd trained his body to work efficiently at this one task.

The pressing question is, if your average fatty chose a low impact exercise and grew god-like willpower over night, would it be within his reach?

Not really, you can only lose so much weight before it becomes dangerous. I just watched the first episode of Ultimate Fighter 8 and a guy there was in a similar situation, he lost 10lbs in a day purely through heavy exercise in a plastic suit, but ended up unable to walk properly, let alone fight.

Most of that would have been water, right? I'm talking about being well hydrated throughout.

thats because all the weight he lost was water, making him severely dehydrated
