hello, /fit/. i'm your average 4channer; i'm 18, asocial and fat. because i'm bored of being myself, i'd like to change this. i'd like to start with my weight, so i've come to /fit/ to plead for some words of wisdom.
i'm 5' 7" and 183 pounds. i can do exercise. i used to practice karate and i think i'm going to get into it again..
so, where should I start? are there any guides, books or whatever that i should read? i've seen lots of terminology around here, like cardio and stuff. where can i learn more about this? i'd look for books for myself, but i don't know which are full of bullshit and which aren't.
so, what i'm asking you isn't to tell me exactly what to do, because that's annoying, but to guide me into what should i read or start.
thanks, /fit/.

also, pic related. it's myself.

Google is your friend, as for Karate it probably won't help you loose alot of weight. Depends on where you set your goal weight I s'pose, some people are content with having smooth shapes and a bit of a tummy.

There's only so much I can tell ya in a post, you need to talk to a trainer at a gym. You may need to adress your diet aswell, a good start is the cambridge diet.

It'll probably save you money on food and it's worked great for my friends. It's a good start at your weight loss and is only done for 3-5 weeks.

Start with cardio and weight lifting. I'm thinking that 45 minutes of running at 7mph (8 minutes a mile pace) every other day or every two days would do you good for cardio. Don't run on hard surfaces to protect your knees and don't use wimpy tread mills either.

Cereal and skim milk is fine for breakfast when eaten in small portions. A good alternative is two hardboiled eggs.

Snack on frozen fruit for a snack between lunch.

Turkey slices on whole wheat bread sandwiches for lunch. Small portions.

Snack on frozen fruit between lunch and dinner.

Long grain rice and something green and healthy for dinner."

Figure out your weight in kg, and then its recomended that you take 0.8g of protein per kg of body weight"

My specialty is cardio and calisthenics. My knowledge of lifting is limited so someone else will have to advise you of a good weight lifting plan.

Stop trying to play your self-hate off as apathy.
