Insomnia

What does /fit/ do to help with this issue? It strikes me once every two weeks or so. Due to health issues, the best sedative I can get right now is OTC allergy meds ;_;

Have you tried masturbating before sleeping, or the age-old "take a warm bath/shower"?

routine.
Set up a workout routine and a ritual you do before sleeping.

Oddly I just woke up after sleeping 2 hours. I think it's related to working out. Muscle growth is both making me super thirsty and causing constant dull pains.

The pain from working out shouldn't be waking you up, it should be more than offset by your fatigue and your body's need to rest and regenerate. Thirst on the other hand is something you probably need to deal with - drink more water!

I've dealt with this shit my whole life.

things that may work for you:

-reading before you go to bed (not 4chan, but a book. Staring at computer screens before you go to bed makes falling asleep more difficult.)

-relaxing music, duh.

-one of my friends swears by burning aromatherapy oils, I'm not so sure about this ... but hey, whatever floats your boat.

-resist the urge to nap during the day.

-don't eat for 3 hours before bedtime.

-MEDICATION

(the last one was the best method for me)

Cut back on the caffeine. That's coffee, tea, sodas, etc. also watch out for sugar-rich foods in the evening. You need to slow down, not speed up.
