Hai there /fit/,

It may seam like a dumb questin but i'd really like to know about it: When you are using barbels ( like in squats) do you have to take in consideration the weight of the barbel when you're stating the weight you use ?

At the moment I squat 120 lbs worth of plates. (i'm a beginner) So should I say I squat 120 or should I add the weight of the bar to that number ?

For maxing, I usually in the bar. The one's at my gym are 50~ lbs, so its really nothing to scoff at.
