Probably a bacterial infection. Your doc would likely do something drastic like rush you to the emergency room and have them do surgery on you. But pffft, what do doctors know? Drink some more alcohol.

Hey /b/, i was working out last night for the first time in months, inb4fatlazyfag, i worked out for 8 months straight for 2 and a half hours a night before that, i was a workout addict,

anyways, first day back i expected the usual shaky arms shaky legs, depression from working up to what i used to be, i got home, collapsed on my bed and fell asleep until it was time for school [inb4underageb&], i went to school, both of my biceps were really tight, they weren't too sore but they were tight, it comes to my last class where i fell asleep on my right arm, i wake up to a horrible pain, more horrible than when i broke my arm, it felt like i tore something [have experienced tears before], but this time it was horrible, i can't extend my arm past maybe 110 degrees without there being terrible pain,

my left arm is normal but what wouldve caused my arm to be in so much pain than it was just by resting my head on it? what do you think this is and how should it be treated?

when i got home i put an icyhot gel pack on it [from freezer], took a nap, woke up and since most of the ice was melted just put it in the microwave and used the warmness, i took 2 shots of asprin and now have a heating pad on it

pic hopefully not related

Possibly compartment syndrome.

Muscles are surrounded by a very strong non-stretchy sac, and if a muscle becomes extremely swollen inside the sac it can cut off it's own circulation. This leads to severe pain (like your arm is being ripped off) and can lead to death of the muscle. It can also lead to the sac and surrounding tissues rupturing to relieve the pressure. Treatment is usually surgical reduction of the pressure (in severe cases) and anti-inflammatories.

A typical case presents within a few hours of severe, strenuous exercise or an injury of a large muscle group usually in the legs or arms. It's particularly common in people who have taken a long break from exercising then come right back to it and push themselves past their limits. It initially presents with severe, generalized pain in the limb that is made worse by movement or stretching. Additionally it will often present with paresthesia (the prickly feeling you get when a body part falls asleep) caused my compression of the nerves. Late signs are paralysis and possibly diminished or absent pulses on the far side of the injury.

It might be a small kidney stone but the pain with stones is usually very severe.
