Got a short work day tomorrow. Brother gave me a shitload of 4 by 4 planks that he had as left overs.

So I figured I'd make a squat rack for myself, since I'm too cheap to buy them and it's not like I have enough room to keep a power rack cage. This is a base sketch design, I'd make it more realistic a bit later, but I have several questions.

Would a design like this hold the weights?
Would a design like this hold the weights stably?
Would this be functional?
Is this stupid y/n?

Also depends... equipment + time + opportunity cost, it might be cheaper to just buy a real squat rack.
