There is scientific evidence to suggest that warming up is bullshit for preventing injuries.
My own experiences suggest this is true. However, it is one motherfucking hell of a lot easier to do exercises. I sit down to do my 3 sets of 12 on the 45 degree leg press. At 200, from a cold start, I struggle. After my 30-45 minutes jog and interval training, or even some lunges and calf lifts, I find it easier by orders of magnitude to do 230 and 240.
