So guys, I've been thinking about doing some CARDIO,

but I don't know whether to bike or run.

What are the pros/cons of each?

The main con of both is that neither of them are SQUATZ

SWIMMING puts lesss strain on all the joints of your body, try it OP

I'm not looking for the cardio exercise that strains me the least, I'm kinda going for the one that gets it done the fastest.

I've been recently thinking that running in the local riverbed (loose sand) would probably work me out the hardest and quickest, but biking is also a good alternative, so I'm CONFLICTED.

cardio is good but make sure you are doing a full body resistance routine as well.

as for the pro's and con's of biking/runing

Biking
Pro's
-easier on the joints
-can be used as transportation which adds extra benefit of cardio + efficiency
--easy to change resistance without hurting yourself (sprinting can be hard on the knees, cycling fast not so much)

Con's
- Easy to adapt to so you might find it's not giving you as good of a workout as running after a certain amount of time
- maintenance - bike's are not cheap and a 100 dollar walmart special will not do well..bike's require proper alignment and fitting in order to make sure you're riding properly
- safer to run then to bike...gotta deal with traffic, harsher conditions (strong wind, colder) and all that shit

Running
Pro's
- easy - go out the door and run
- easy to adjust - you can walk, jog, run, sprint and don't need to change gears
- you can run anywhere - bike's need a trail. you can just run outside or run in place if need be

con's
- fucking hard as hell on the joints
- can be expensive when you add in proper foot wear, proper seasonal clothing potential physical dangers

my advice? Get a recumbant bike...easy, cheap, small...

all are good for cardio

running has the highest impact on the body.

which means it's the quickest way to get FIT, amirite?

With other exercises of course.
