I'm mostly trying to lose fat right now, so I'm lifting for hypertrophy to try and up my metabolism. But to help with the muscle gain I've been doing a protein shake post-workout and right before I go to bed. Is this a good idea because it helps the muscles which will increase my RMR, or is it better just to skip those calories?
As long as your not going over your calories for the day, that's what most people do.
