Raw eggs, /fit/. Have you tried them? Pros and cons?
>> Anonymous
i used to drink 2 eggs for breakfast mainly because i'm lazy

they taste awful so i would basically chug them and chase it with water to basically douche my mouth

didn't really notice any pros or cons, and i did this for about 4 months straight, but i can tell you that it's definitely going to raise your cholesterol through the fucking roof if you're worried about atherosclerosis

Why would you eat them if you don't like the taste? Just buy pop-tarts.

I like raw eggs on steamed rice, with soy sauce. It's pretty common in Japan. I can't say what the nutritional value of it is.

You're an idiot. The chances of getting food poisoning are so low for a pasteurized egg it's like 1 in 40,000 or something.

Pros: As long as they're pasteurized they have really good, unique amino chains. They're not filling at all, and it's some good protein.

Cons: They taste horrible. They're not essential to a good body, and it is possible, although remotely, that you will get food poisoning.

more proteins in cooked eggs, easier to digest. Not that it really makes a difference.

How the fuck do you pasteurise eggs without making them coagulate?

OP is a fucking nigger, cook your damn eggs.

"Some older athletic diets use to propose eating just raw eggs. This is a foolish attempt at taking in additional protein. Eating raw eggs (or raw egg whites) will only result in about 50% absorption of the available protein. That means that if you eat enough raw eggs to give you 40 grams of protein, your body will only absorb 20 grams.

Eating just raw egg whites results in the same (or worse). Egg whites have a huge amount of a substance called "avidin," which loves biotin. As a matter of fact, once the avidin-biotin forms a bond, the body can't break it apart. So you will develop a partial or full Biotin Deficiency Syndrome. Cooking your eggs (or egg whites) will quickly denature the protein avidin and will allow you to absorb 98% of the protein. In short, always cook your eggs."

No one should eat raw eggs.
That habit started from the movie rocky, just a fad

Just buy one of those egg strainers to separate the yolk from the egg white. Boil water and drip the egg white into the boiling water. Drain the water out and eat the egg white. Pretty simple and quick, actually.

Nope. Vince gironda was giving his athletes blended raw eggs and cream decades ago before that movie.

Also, it's a myth that the avidin in raw eggs make protein unavailables. If you eat the yolk, there's enough biotin to bind most of the avidin.

I usually breakfast with 5-6 raw eggs, half and half and a dash of port. A quick pass with the blender and it's done.
