Fatfag here trying to cut. I'm 6'1", 230. I've been on a strict diet while going for long early morning walks, combined with weightlifting in the afternoon.

Walking isn't really doing much for me anymore. I was planning on dropping below 200 before I start jogging/running, but do you think I could do it earlier? Or would I be better off adding another cardio pass, like with an exercise bike?

I'd bike and drop another 30 pounds, then start lifting.

I'd start lifting now, but while maintaining a cutting diet. Don't expect to put on a significant amount of muscle mass / any at all.

Try ellipticals or stationary bikes (or real bike if you can). No need to hurt your knees.

Yeah, I mostly do lifting now to burn calories, boost metabolism. Many sets/reps with minimal resting. It's probably not the most efficient method, but I think it's fun so that helps me keep motivated.

I have a stationary bike. Haven't used it in a while, but I'll start now.

Bike is ok, but if you want to lose weight faster use ellipticals aka cross trainer. It forces you to use your whole body as resistance rather than your legs on a bike. I've been using it for 40 mins (up to 1 hour a day) and lost around 40lb in 3 months while using a strict diet. Still got another 40-50 to go, but its worth buying imo.

Just bumping this if anyone else would like to chime in.
