So I've been eat whey protein and flax seeds to make sure I don't lose too much muscle while I'm trimming down. I have always had a bit of a sweet tooth, so I've been eating anise seeds (you'll get these as an after-dinner thing at Indian restaurants) as a snack when i feel the craving. They're pretty much great for you from what I can tell. How do you indulge while staying health conscious?

Yes, it's a delicious treat and has a lot of protein for the calories.

I eat foods that satisfy. My morning smoothie I love, my beef jerky or fish lunch always hits the spot, and later in the day I'll eat a raw egg (mostly out of style now, but I love it) and at night I cook up vegetables with some expensive mushrooms thrown in for flavor.

do you roast them before you eat them? can you do this with other seeds (coriander, fennel?)

i'm curious. as for me, I pretty much stick to whole grains, bulgur, wheat berries, brown rice, and quinoa. great to snack on, great as a meal, and very customizable.

fennel seeds are basically the same as anise seeds because the plants are so similar. I just eat them raw.
