Vertical jump help? sauce needed
sup /fit/,
i am around 6 foot, around 85 kg, pretty muscular. I have a pretty descent vertcial leap and i can grab a 10 foot rim on a good jump. Does /fit/ know any good exercises i can use to get that last couple inches to a dunk? i also plan to get down to about 82kg and i am expected to grow to about 6 foot 4

look at this guy... I would say that is a decent vertical... maybe hitting the Olympic lifts heavy as fuck including supplement lifts is a good plan. Basically my policy is heavy lifts combined with plyo cycles.

I don't believe so. Neither does Mark Rippetoe. Go buy a copy of his starting strength book for all the info you could possibly need on form and purpose.

I think with appropriate diet (fuckton of milk) and good form, it will encourage good growth if anything.

ohh the controversy... If you are worried about it then you might want to dedicate a year to less heavy lifts and developing your technique on the snatch and the clean and jerk.

oly lifters have the greatest vertical off all athletes. even high jumpers.

If OP does 'starting strength' at his current age and ability level, he will be able to dunk like a CHAMP in a couple of years.

Once you get stronger, OP, then add plyometrics. Pure strength training will build the base you need for now, and will give you gains quickly on its own.

Weight lifting does not effect height growth.

Thats a myth from back in the 70-80 where most of the weight lifters used steroids.
