Hey, /fit/. I'm trying to work out a diet and exercise plan to lose fat. I'm 5'11 and currently weigh around 215lb. I've never had a problem with weight but a knee injury 3 years ago has put me out of any sports for a long time, but I'm ready to get working all the excess fat off now. I'm not bothered about weight at all, it's sheerly fat I'm trying to shift. Is there any way of losing fat quickly? My general fitness is below average, but I'm willing to run/cycle/hit the gym as often and as hard as is needed. Preferably with a view to getting rid of some body fat asap. Thanks for any general advice you can offer.

tl;dr: Got injured, no sports allowed, got fat, want to burn it off, tips please.

Have been doing for hours, just thought it'd be better to get some tips of real people who have tried stuff and know what works and what they like.

eat healthier and more often to up your metabolism... drink only water and occasionally milk, never juice or soda. Do cardio ( HIIT ) every day or as often as you can.

Weight lift if you're up for it, will also increase your metabolism.

Thanks for that, very helpful advice.

Should I be limiting my calorie intake in any way? At the moment I tend to only eat twice a day but it will be anything from 1500-2000 calories worth.

from what I understand you want to eat less, but more often. So like 6 very small meals throught the day. This will increase metabolism.

Ah, that makes sense. Should I keep it to around 2000 cals a day?

I'll start the new diet/meal sizes today, as well as getting started on a HIIT workout. Thanks very much for the tips!
