Is dairy an unwanted food when you're trying to lose weight?

I eat cottage cheese and greek yogurt... bad or no?

If you're concerned, go for skim or low fat dairy products.

In general, cottage cheese is good because it's a source of slow digesting protein, which is good for at night. Milk is also a good source of protein.

It is a good food for your diet, but do be mindful of how many calories each has. Skim for win.

No, dairy is a good amount of protein in it. Eat up.

Dairy generally has a lot of calories, cottage cheese is good as>>181245suggested and yogurt (although I've no idea what greek yogurt is) is also healthy, milk unless it's skim has quite a few too many calories for most people on diets.

I do eat the low fat... normally not 0% because I'd have a harder time taking in my calories and I'd have to eat more.. unless its the yogurt. Normally cottage cheese is 2%.

Umm... try it. Greek yogurt > any other yogurt.

I would avoid it or cut it to a minimum if I were you.

There are plenty of good protein sources that do not have the total fat, saturated fat, cholesterol, casein etc of milk.
Besides, a person who is aiming to lose weight does not need more protein...
