Shadow Boxing Anonymous
Hello /fit/, this is the first time I'm posting here - because I'm "satisfied" with my body. I'm male and 18 years old at the moment. However, there is something I'd like to get a more professional opinion on.

First, though, here's my body in a nut shell:

- Not overweight, lower end of BMI for my age and height (read: almost "underweight").

- People, and every girl I asked, said I have a very nice figure (V-shaped back, well formed and quite toned butt, no chicken legs, almost everything proportional)

- Strong and defined shoulders + arms, good neck & shoulder width especially for my age. I look strong, but not in a bodybuilder way

- Abs not clearly visible, only the upper two are defined, however, the stomach is strengthened from workout (discussed later in this post) and doesn't feel soft and it's pretty flat as well

- Some breast muscle present, in between toned/shaped and muscular (read: no flat chicken breast as if I was starved for 5 years)

- Good biceps, all right triceps, veins mostly visible, not always on the upper arms though, usually only after working out (good indication of fat percentage)

Every day I start off with 40 minutes of shadow boxing. No breaks. I do combos, mostly left-right-left-right.uppercut-left-right-left.uppercut. My left and rights are always quick jabs and I work on speed rather than throwing hook after hook (strains more).
Some more combos I do are left-right-left-right continuing about 4 times in a row. I also mix them together and do as I see fit. The most important thing is, I don't stop for more than 10 seconds in between every combo.

Footwork while shadow boxing. I do a lot of it. Hopping, turning, strafing and even slight jumping in between and during combos. My whole body starts sweating after 15 minutes, which I think proves the effort.

After that part, I do 2x20 situps, 2x12 crunches and 2x10 pushups.

To finish, I do another 20 to 30 minutes shadow boxing, usually a little slower than the first 40 minutes, but straining nonetheless.

I don't even want to go into food, because for one thing I know what and how to eat, and the other thing is that it reaches too far.

So, I hope I didn't bore you experts with my essay. Now what I'd like to know is:

1. How important do you think visible abs are when I'm otherwise satisfied and am generally considered "fit"?
2. Do you think I do enough to burn fat (shadow boxing routines)?
3. Would you recommend other workout exercises additionally?
4. Is it too much to do this routine 7 times a week, should I settle for 5 or 6 times instead?
5. Other thoughts?

I appreciate any opinion I can get.

Can you only treat fat bastards and self conscious underage chicks?

Yes...? Do you think it's inappropriate to ask a girl if she thinks I'm hot before having sex?

And I didn't ask random people. They actually told me.

If you're doing it hard enough to burn fat you shouldn't be able to do it every single day. I'm a boxer for ISU and while shadowboxing is important, you also need to do some bag exercises and some real cardio. IE running. visible abs arent important by the way

lol. 'burn' fat. oh well.

change your diet. if you're interested in body composition diets, go research them.

this is what i tell the fatties and the dumb chicks. seriously, your own research will do you the most good. there is a lot of work that has been done and is being done on diets for performance and bodycomposition. just don't think you'll get them from men's health.
