/fit/, why am I so tired?

Most nights I get at least 7 hours of sleep, if not 8 or 9. I exercise fairly regularly. I think I'm pretty healthy and in shape.

But for some reason, I'm ALWAYS fucking tired. Like, at any given moment I could fall asleep anywhere. I've fallen asleep at shows where music was blaring into my ears. I'll wake up from a 2 hour nap and not feel any less tired. I'm a really busy person, so I usually have some obligation to stay awake and I can't let myself sit down for very long or else I'll be out.

Can anyone think of what might be the problem? It probably helps to mention that I'm pretty heavily addicted to caffeine (this started because of my super-tiredness). What are some other factors I'm not thinking of?

tl:dr: I can never feel energized and don't know why.

Don't nap more than 30 mins. These power naps are more refreshing than naps longer than 1 hour, at least in my experience.

I have a similar, albeit less severe problem. I fall asleep in class without any problems, and drink about 4 cups of coffee a day.

Well, it's definitely not puberty as I am 20 years old. It may be related to food. What kind of stuff should I be eating to raise my energy? I eat a lot of pasta and chicken. The most common snack I eat at home is a half-quesadilla (just a small amount of cheese). I don't eat red meat at all, haven't for about 8 years. Could that have anything to do with it? I don't find myself going hungry very often.

I hardly ever TRY to take a nap. When I said nap, I meant times where I sit down on my bed for a minute and wake up a couple hours later. This is the most common annoyance of my problem, because I often sleep through plans I've made with people and piss my friends/family/work off.

I started drinking caffeine a lot when I realized what a life line it could be when I really needed to be awake. I know my tiredness wasn't CAUSED by caffeine addiction, although I do understand it's probably not helping.

Consistently inadequate sleep can fuck you up something fierce. Hell, seven hours a night for a few weeks will cause problems, and that's only one less hour.

If you have a shitty diet you will be tired. If you don't have enough energy intake your nody will slow down to save energy, which is being tired. There are busloads of reasons for this, so I won't get specific.

I have the opposite of this. I'm usually tired because I have awful sleeping habits, but my tiredness never progresses beyond the 'sitting down would be nice' phase until I've been awake for two or three days. It's probably from my comical overconsumption of caffeine.
