Flabby Arms but I've lost weight! Anonymous
Dear /fit/, I've lost about 20 pounds this year and went down to a size 8. But there is a strange problem. My upper arms have not decreased in size and are still flabby chicken arms! If I remember correctly, professional trainers say that "spot training" can't be achieved and you're body would lose fat all around. Sadly, this is not true for me because my upper arms still have the same measurement and amount of fat. So I'm desperate and in need of help. How could I lose that fat without having incredibly buff arms? Thanks in advance.

Do you know how much muscle you have in that area?
Lose some more fat (if you have any to lose) and work out your triceps.

I have a lot fat and droopy skin. There's some muscle but not a lot, considering I do tricep exercises. I also do cardio in the morning, about 30 minutes to 1 hour a day.

Female. I'm willing to do anything to lose these flabby arms even though I might lose boobs. Best if I don't lose any more boobs.

you could start running with a sauna suit (a garbage bag taped to your upperbody works just as good, induces more sweat)

This ain't nothing but a thing, if you continue exercising your skin will eventually tighten up around the areas you have lost fat, building some muscle will ensure you dont end up looking like a 100 pound bag of bones stuffed in a 200 pound bag of skin.

however if you stop, you're just gonna regain the weight much more quickly, because your body wants to return to the stage it was most comfortable at- your fatty stage.

Thanks, I'll think about doing that. Any more advice anyone? Also, would a tightening lotion help or is that just a load of bs?

Did you lose the 20 pounds in a healthy way or did you just cut back your calories a lot?

You will never have incredibly buff arms. You won't have buff arms. You won't even have "toned" arms, unless you really try, and know how to increase mass. There are tons of scrawny 18 year old *males* trying to get buff who can't do it, why would you accidentally get huge?

Heavy squats, dead lifts, presses, rows, pull ups. Those in addition to cardio (HIIT) and a caloric deficit will help you lose more body fat and give you a *small* increase in muscle mass, which makes you "toned". Losing more body fat is the only way to get rid of the excess fat on your arms.

well, anon has decreed fat drains equally from the lake of body-fat, so, anything that reduces arms flab can affect boob fat. how much though? is it really "equal"? considering there's more concentrated in certain areas.

DO NOT USE SAUNA SUITS. They are used for athletes in sports with weight classes, and then only to quickly drop weight before a contest. All weight that is lost is water weight, which you will gain back the second you hit the fountain.

Everyone stores fat differently. You may simply store fat more easily and in greater quantity on your arms than elsewhere. There is no non-surgical cure for this except further fat loss.

Also, I will echo other Anons in saying that a lack of muscle mass in the arms is hurting you. As you gain muscle, your arms will begin to fill out and their shape will improve.

tl;dr: Skip the sauna suit. Increase upper body trainings.

That is entirely up to the distribution of hormonal receptors in your body. Everyone's a little different so far as that goes.

You will lose fat in the inverse order that you put it on.

So if you deposited fat early on in your career to overweightdom, you'll lose it last.

DO ARM EXCERCIES and stop being a stupid woman who's afraid of becoming some musclebound freak. MEN, with all sorts of neat testosterone, try their ASSES OFF to scrape together a few pounds of muscle every year. You won't turn into the hulk, I promise.

ditto.

hormonal receptors? anon doesn't understand. sounds like "things" throughout the body, uncontrollable in any way.
