Hey /fit/, I don't know if this falls into the category of health and fitness, as I would expect this forum to be about PHYSICAL health and fitness. If anyone has experience dealing with mental health, I'd like to hear from ya. Lately I've been pretty depressed, mainly over the faggotry known as heartbreak (yea yea, im a douche). But theres this girl who I'm madly in love with and things just aren't going right and its taking a serious toll on my mental well being. No suicide thoughts or anything like that, just low self esteem, moping around, and generally being sad.

Why I stay involved with her is because im seriously attached and things could turn for the better, and have nearly been promised to. For the past 2 1/2 years we've swayed from dating to not dating.

I'm just looking for some genuine advice to help with kind of, I dont know, coping.

First post in /fit/.

Thanks guys.

Pic unrelated.

yeah, I think that's enough. break up, feel bad for a month, move on with your life. the longer you hang on her the harder it gets.

people rarely change. never count on it.

Well, if I were older I would whole heartedly agree. I'm 17, and I have pretty good judgement on when to call it quits on things, but at my age I dont think its something to just ditch.

I mean, I love the girl. And I wouldn't feel bad for just a month. =/

first love =/

and in all honesty, I HAVE tried ending it like a bandaid. It's just one of those things thats hard to get away from.

Ha, until I move away for college or have some reason to waste the gas to go to other cities and shit like that, there really isn't.

My town is a shithole and this girl is the goldmine.

sounds like a typical love delusion. she doesn't sound THAT great if your relationship makes you depressed.

you have two options:

a) move on (fast and painfull)
b) continue with her (slow and painfull)

and I'm sure she can't be the ONLY girl in your town worth meeting.

Bandaid it and move on.

I understand how easy it would be to come to the conclusion that that is my situation. But its not, the only reason I'm sad is because we're not in a relationship at the moment. When we were, it was the happiest i'd ever been in my entire life. Fucking glee.

And i've met a lot (and i mean a lot) of the girls here, and theyre seriously like omg totally not worth talking to like i know rite?

...yea.

I'm in your situation OP, except I've been in your position for 4 years.

I cope by doing HIIT, squats, and cutting myself (I feel invincible to see myself heal so damn quick, and the adrenalin rush is golden).

Women are not worth dwelling on. There are plenty more out there, and you just need to get that fact into your head. It's fine to baaaw about it for a couple weeks (or months, depending on how long you were together) but there comes a point where it turns into obsession, and you need to recognize that point and move on.
