Hi /fit/

newfag here.

I know you guys get a truckload of these posts but...

My core and upper body strength SUCKS. I am not unfit in the slightest, have almost zero body fat, my top half just seems to have not developed. I just turned 20 so I figured it's time to do something about it.

I know jack shit about working out when it comes to muscle building. I've always been an endurance guy. I've been riding a bike every day for the last 4 years, so my legs are already getting pretty hench.

Anyway. Muscle building - I know nothing. I don't know what to eat, I don't know what to do, I don't know how often to do it. I don't have any equipment but I guess that's gonna have to change.

A quick bit about my diet - I eat a LOT. Most of my friends cannot understand how I am not obese. I guess I just have a ridiculously fast metabolism. This is a stupid question, but is there anyway I could be using all the fats I take in straight away rather than storing them up to build muscle?

I'm not asking you guys for personal eCoaching, just some pointers and maybe a GOOD website with some workouts and dietry info etc.

You sound exactly like me. I'm going to tell you now, if you and I have the same body-type, it's going to be very difficult, and sometimes feel almost impossible to put on mass. But you CAN do it.

Joining a nice gym (not beefcake musclehead haunts if you can help it) will help, as you'll have a lot of equipment to try, and a big space to do it in.

I'm going to link you to this:

Take some time to really read over the contents. It's a good place to get started. You're going to have to read some stuff and really try to understand the proper ways to do things if you want any progress at all.

i despise "nice" gyms, the ones with grunt meters and shit where there are no squat racks and the dumbells don't go above 55lbs. the ones where the people take more time dressing for the gym then actually exercising. i'm no fucking muscle head, infact i've only been seriously lifting for about a year but the trendy shit doesn't promote muscle gain, cause thats not what the average schmuck wants to do. (i'm talking about places like "planet fitness" or anything else that is in a parking plaza with a supermarket)

Thank you!

It is good to hear from someone in the same boat as me..

That is exactly what I was expecting. In fact, that is what I came here for.

Had a quick skim through that guide and it looks sweet. Thanks dude <3

I live in london. As far as I know the only gyms like that around here are lesbo gyms.

Quit being ignorant. There are plenty of decent gyms with all the good equipment and heavy weights sans the meathead faggots that want to laugh at the weaker members and try to spot for everyone in the building. I'm not telling him to workout in a goddamned Starbucks for crying outloud; I just want him to go to a place where he doesn't have to worry about being inexperienced, and can feel comfortable so he can worry more about proper form instead of trying to impress some jerkoff frat brother.

No problems, my good chum. Remember, your gains are probably going to come slow, so don't let it discourage you. It'll take time, but you can get it.
