What is /fit/'s take on Vitamin Water? Do you like it? If so, do you ever feel a difference after drinking one (i.e., feel more energetic after drinking the yellow "Energy" one or more relaxed after drinking the "Relax" one)? I started drinking them a couple years ago, and I have personally been hooked ever since... although I never felt a major difference after drinking them. The flavor isn't too sweet or overpowering in any of them, although I do have my favorites. Lately I have been hearing people state it's "just a marketing scheme/ploy" and that it's "basically sugar water." How true is this?

the energy one has caffine, of course it's energizing. I do think they're really tasty though.
When I feel run down I drink them and they help. I figure it's a good way to get both hydration and extra vitamins at the same time.

If 100-140 calories for an entire bottle is "tons of calories" then yes, you are completely right

So does shit taste like water?

100-140 compared to 0 for a bottle of water. Vitamin water is fucking crap marketed at assholes who think they're drinking something vaguely healthy because the word "vitamin" is in the product name.

Not water

>>277551

Lay off the sugar fatty. Water quenches thirst and only that just as what drinking is meant to do. Once you control your urge to drink soda, eat candy, water will be fine.

An entire bottle of water is 0 calories. An entire gallon of water is 0 calories. A truck full of water is 0 calories.

Fine, I'll just drink water and consume nothing else ever again because I'm DEATHLY AFRAID of calories.
Fuck your boring-ass water. It's so goddamn unsatisfying.

Vitamin Water tastes like shit. It's like someone took a bottle of fruit juice, then watered it down until it was completely unpalatable.

Water is completely and utterly satisfying--I keep four 2L bottles and a Brita Pitcher full of water in my fridge at all times.

I think the flavor is alright and, overall, tastes better than Gatorade.

Do I think I'll gain any benefits from drinking vitaminwater? No. But as long as it's refreshing, I don't mind.

BUT YOU DONT GET ELECTROLYTES

Unsatisfying cause you're used to eating candy and chugging soda. Taste is all comparison to other things you eat.

Water is the perfect beverage. It's cool and clear and filling. If you drink a lot of it throughout the day, you will be well hydrated, and it will make you less hungry as well.

Why dont you go chug a few gallons of water. It doesnt matter if your an Olympic athlete or not. Too much (in a small time frame) water is bad for you. And so is this shit drink.

Oh man, cue the idiots talking about the woman who died trying to win the Wii.

Newsflash: drinking large quantities of water will not harm you unless you drink it in an EXTREMELY short period of time, which you would not do under normal circumstances. When you're thirsty, do you go to your faucet and chug the fuck out of it for ten minutes?

that "electrolytes" in vitamin water is not a good excuse to choose it over regular water. L2READ

Your link makes mine make more sense. Thanks.
"It is unnecessary to replace losses of sodium, potassium and other electrolytes during exercise since it is unlikely that a significant depletion of the body's stores of these minerals will occur during normal training."
"Because sports drinks typically contain very high levels of sugar, they are not recommended for regular use by children. Water is considered the only essential beverage for children during exercise"
>> Anonymous

That was me saying a smart ass comment... Your the one who came off as being an internet tough guy first.
>> JL523 !Je.61Huaqc
>>277624

To add "However, in extreme exercising conditions over 5 or 6 hours (an Ironman or ultramarathon, for example) the consumption of a complex sports drink with electrolytes is recommended"

Like I said, unless you're an Olympic athlete, which I mentioned as an example. Electrolytes in sports drinks such as this and Gatorade are not a good reason to choose over water
