i decided to fap this whole week and just lifted yesterday.
my arms are hurting should i put icy cold each time i get that "hurt" feeling the next day? or should i just live it like that.
Also can /fit/ tell me there proper ways to lift, like how many times per day. Should i lift everyday and rest saturday, sunday? etc

I have dumbbells, custom ones.

i would lift at 6-7pm till my arms hurted and the next day i would never get the feeling that i got today.
i havent gotten this feeling in a while did i do it right? was i doing it wrong each time i lifted?

srsly u guys can /fit/ enlighten me?

when you work out for the first time in a while, lactic acid builds up = muscle fuck.

the more you work out, the more you muscles become accustomed to stress, thus easier to lift more often.

i already been through that phase
i just need to know a good routine to lift. If putting icyhot on the muscle where it hurts help.
And if i was doing it wrong.

lactic acid is cleared from the muscle in seconds and is not the cause of delayed onset muscle soreness

DOMS may occur every time you change your lifting routine for the first 1-3 sessions

after that it should be minimal or gone completely

most people get maximum results on their third to fifth session of a particular workout. (Note that this is after the DOMS has subsided, DOMS is not necessary for or an indicator of muscle hypertrophy.) It is beneficial to change your workout after about six sessions to maximize strength and lean mass gains.

You should Not be lifting the same muscle group every day - as a rule of thumb, I like to make sure that I have one day with no appreciable soreness before I hit a muscle again - Overtraining through frequency is surprisingly easy to do.

remember- if you don't give your muscles time to rest, they arent going to get big. you arent actually building muscle when you go and lift- you are destroying your muscle, tearing it down. when you stop and rest, your body repairs the muscle, building it up in the process. tearing down and healing, over time, builds muscle.
if you dont give yourself time to rest, all you are doing is shredding your muscle and not giving it time to rebuild itself and actually become bigger and stronger.

i would say at least 2 days rest for the muscles you worked out, more if you feel you need it.

I'm curious what the max recommended days of rest is? Friend of mine didn't work out for 3 weeks and just started again yesterday.
