hey /fit/

is running 3 to 4 miles in 20 mins ok? I did a 20 min run last night and that's how far I ran.. I could have gone longer but 3-4 miles sounded like a lot.

How far do you guys run, or do you run by time instead of distance?

I'm 6'1" so I have long legs btw.

Depends on what you're trying to do.

As for me, I just do two hard miles. First one I RUN, consciously telling myself to quit jogging, going as fast as I can the entire way. The mile back, I do intervals of sprinting spaced by half-as-long distances of jogging. I'm in it to lose those last several pounds of fat to get cut.

just trying to burn fat. a friend told me to run as long as I could.. I did 20 mins but I think i can do like 40+ if I pace myself.

The problem is I have long legs so like at 20-30 min mark I'm fucking far from my house... only like a few straight roads here... so I guess I should like maybe head back at the 20 min mark or maybe walk over to a park or something and do laps around the park.

Three miles in 20 minutes is decent. Four in 20 minutes is great for any non-athlete.

Keep in mind for the Marine Corps PFT, three miles in under 18 minutes is considered excellent.
