Pushups Anonymous
Hey /fit/, I need your help

I bet a friend of mine $100 on who can do the most consecutive clapping push ups.
They don't need to be particularly pretty push ups, as long as we can get the clap in I think it should count.
Right now I can do 15-20 if I really push myself (yeah yeah weak I know).
We compete March 9th.

What should I do to prepare?

Incredibly helpful, hadn't thought of that.

I was thinking more on the lines of:
Should I specifically practice clapping pushups, or just do regular pushups for now, or both?
Should I do pushups till exhaustion or do a specific amount. Should I consistently increase that amount?
How much rest should I get between working out?
How much rest should I have before the competition?
Should I eat much beforehand?
Should I try other exercises, free weights, etc?

I suggest that if you really wanna do more push ups work out your chest mostly. Like bench press or flys, but if you don't wanna do that, since you can only do 15-20 try and do that every 3 hours if you want for a week no more beacuse after a while if you repeat the same shit it doesn't really aid in your muscle build.
There is also a push up called the diver bomb pushups, these are very very affective if done correctly.

These feel as goofy as it looks. Am I supposed to keep my knees straight or bend? (Not OP)
