hi /fit/

Lately I've not been eating very much for some reason, I dont know why.

And I was wondering how much weight I'd lose if I only manage to eat once a day (not a lot of food) and still work out at the gym?

Also, how do I count calories/proteins?

By eating that little wouldnt you be more likely to lose muscle than fat? Or at least both.

A fair bit; unless your meal was huge - fat tends to go more readily than muscle, but if you don't have enough protein to sustain it, say goodbye.

Yeah that's what I'm worried about, I dont wanna lose my muscles and start over again, but I just can't seem to get my aptite going, I just cant.

Would drinking/eating protein shakes or similar help alot to sustain my muscles?

OP here again: No, the meal isn't even close to huge, it's less then I usually eat, I used to be the guy with unlimited space in my stomache, now I can barely fit a taco.

Protein shakes are also going to help bulk you, but yes, it'll help a little. Keep in mind they're supposed to be a supplement. Kindly ignore the fact that my current diet is composed entirely of them. If you only eat once a day and go to the gym daily, you're going to get shit results because you don't have anything in the tank. You'll get them, but it'll be the bare minimum for gains, and you won't be working anywhere near your full potential.

If you need to replace a lot of food, go look up centrum and take a trio of pills a day, then just cook some meat and vegies for your one meal.. That'll give you some of the more essential nutrients. And see a doctor if you can't eat.

I don't think you're suppose to go on any diets unless a doctor puts you on one. DO NOT eat one meal a day. Have breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For breakfast, eat something other than muffins and twinkies.

Sorry, I don't know how to count calories.

Were you recently put on medication? If you're taking pills every day, then a loss in your appetite is a very common side-effect.

I think I'm afraid of eating more because I want to loose weight, not gain it. And since I have no idea of what a "good meal" is, I just stay away from it.

It's either that or maybe I'm depressed? could that lead to loss of aptite?

It can.

And eat healthy and workout daily, rather than not eating, if you can actually eat. Seriously though, see a doctor if you are actually having trouble eating.

I have never heard that just not eating food is a good way to lose weight. Hunger strikes are total crap.

Yes, depression is a very common reason why you could have lost your appetite. I'm no doctor, but I can say I see this all the time. People will either eat like crazy and start getting overweight due to depression, or people like you who start eating less and less.

I know it's crap just not eating anything, that's why I want to know what I could eat without risking to gain weight, I really wanna lose like 10kg more, at the moment i weight 86kg so around 75kg~ would be great.

I'll try starting with breakfast and shit tomorrow, and if it doesnt work I'll go see a doctor, hopefully. No idea how to deal with the depression tho :(
