OP, I think I'm on the same boat as you. I know those heart rate monitors aren't completely accurate, but especially on ellipticals I get up to 185-190 heart rate all the time on different ones, and I feel like its pretty intense but I can usually last 20 minutes and more no problem at that rate. I'm 20, and definitely no track runner or anything, but I do have energy and can run.
I typically try to keep it a little lighter though, because I have heard that going that high owns your muscle mass. I know I've been told that I had an extremely healthy heart when i was born, though I would imagine it got destroyed in my teens from shit food yet I can still keep insane heart rates.
