So I'm living a healthier lifestyle and trying to get /fit/, and here is what I'm doing for exercise

In the morning walk (decent pace) for 30 minutes

After lunch 30 pushups and crunches

After Dinner 30 pushups and crunches

As for food, I'm eating plain cheerios (no honey or nut) with soy milk for breakfast, an Asian noodle salad or Turkey Sandwich for lunch (Lettuce, Little Mustard, Little Mayo, Decent amount of Turkey on Wheat bread), and either these microwavable Pad Thai things (they're pretty healthy and a fine portion) or the remainder of my salad from the day for Dinner.

What would you recommend I change in this little routine, /fit/?

Picture related, it's the Pad Thai things I was talking about

moar veggies
switch to romaine lettuce if you're using iceberg, too

See I'm trying to incorporate more vegetables, but how?

Also, with this plan will I drop weight?

I know it will take a month to see results, and i'm not obese (Overweight, though), and I just want to be seen as average, not a fucking toothpick. You know, take your shirt off confidence without showing my ribcage. Will this work with what I'm doing? If not, what should I do to improve it?

Bread, noodles, pasta, rice, cereals and potatoes are not good for you. Eat it at most once or twice a day, and in very small portions.

Most of my meals consist of meat + veggies or salad. It's quite tasty if you know a bit about spices and mix the salad with raisins, pineapple, bell pepper, corn and so on.

Yeah I went shopping and got a bunch of plums and banana's that I'll put on my cereal.

The salad that I get for lunch has noodles with a lot of veggies in it, but I'm not sure if this is enough yet.

>See I'm trying to incorporate more vegetables, but how?

Step 1: Buy vegetables.
Step 2: Eat vegetables.

Repeat forever.

Eat more meat, and jog at least three times a week. Seriously, lean meat is the healthiest (and tastiest) thing you can eat, as long as there's not a lot of fat on it.
>> jerk
cut out the noodles.

Alright, so if I make myself the turkey sandwich and some vegetables for lunch, then a skinless lean chicken breast with some spices (garlic, basil, etc etc), brown rice, and some veggies for dinner, i'de be alright?

Also,

How long do you think it will take before I can actually tell a difference?

One more thing-

>>144607
Wouldn't walking a half hour five times a week be the same as jogging 3 times a week?
>> Anonymous
>>144632

I did the same. I used to make stir-fry alot in the first 2 months of my diet, but now i cut out the noodles and replace it with chicken, so its just vegetables, chicken and a light sauce.

>>145345

Tell the difference of what?
>> Free Pepsi !!iXxa+hO94Mg
>>145345

Need more info. How fat are you. What exercises are you doing. Etc. A flimsy diet alone won't do shit.

>>145355

I'm 5'9 and like 210? I don't have a scale but last time I went to the doctors (which was recent) it was around there

I do 30 crunches/situps after every meal

Walk for 30 minutes 5 out of the 7 days of the week.

>>145354

Difference in weight :p

And again, guys, I'm not trying to be bone thin, just average where if I can have confidence to take my shirt off in front of a large group of people

>>145370

Crunches do the same as situps without injuring yourself and imo are more intense on the abs.

Weight loss wont happen overnight. If you want "faster" results, increase your exercise to a brisk, (and i mean brisk, not a stroll) walk or use the cross trainer/treadmill at a gym.

>>145376
Oh yeah definately, I don't expect for me to just slim down over night or anything. I do go at a decent pace when I walk.

I'm just wondering month? two months? Ballpark idea, because it's really the thing that keeps me motivated.

I meant crunches and pushups, not situps. My bad.

Your results will vary on how much work you put in and your determination not to "have a treat every now and then". Im not against the idea, and yea of course i will occassionally have a biscuit. The longer you go without, the easier to live without them is.

Can you flesh out what your daily diet is like?

Holy shit, I'm exactly the same height and weight as you started.

I've already posted it but i'll do it again for convenience.

Morning-Plain cheerio's (no honey or nut) with banana's on it and soy milk.

Lunch-Either what I posted origionally (although I think i'm ganna eat the 3 I have over the week and stop because I guess noodles are unhealthy?), or half of this chicken asian noodle salad with carrots, onion, cilantro, and I think some bell pepper, OR a Turkey sandwich with not alot of mayo/mustard, lettuce on a whole wheat bun with some veggies
Dinner-I'm ganna get some boneless, skinless lean chicken and spice it up with some garlic or other spices with some veggies and brown rice

I want other things to eat for dinner, because the same thing over and over can and WILL get kind of bland.

My diet is sort of expensive. My parents are funding it atm as i will be paying them back at the end of the year, + they want me to lose weight and be happy:

http://www.herbalife.com/

I take 2 diet protein shakes a day e.g. breakfast and lunch.

Around 25g protein and 200 calories and its packed with nutrition.

Also taking the wtflolownage multi-vitamins they provide

Dinner i used to have the healthy microwave meals from stores, but since i found out that i dont need all these carbs as much, i have started switching to lean meats & vegetables for dinner. I try to limit my evening meal's carbs to 20g if possible.

Im not working atm, i spend every single day in the same routine as follows:

8am - get up, have breakfast

9/10am - 10 mins weights, 40 mins crosstrainer (i dont fuck about on it, i keep my heartrate up and only stop for 10-15 secs max to drink water)

12/1pm - have lunch

2/3pm - 10 mins weights, 20 mins crosstrainer (more intense this time)

4/5pm - eat evening meal, now split into 2 and eat half of it 1.5 hours between each other.

7-10pm - 2 cups of plain green tea

------

People can call this shit, a waste of money, could have been done better etc.. but i honestly dont care. It has been working great for me so far and i am quite happy doing this with the same routine every day if it has me in shape to apply for the army by September.

Ask for more info if you want.

Also, i've started to split it into 6 meals over the past week. Im including high protein based snacks i.e. tuna, chicken etc... Everything is going great for me as it is, its just the waiting that is the killer. Losing weight requires alot of patience.

What was your original weight and what is your weight now?

How long have you been doing this?

Like i said there, its fairly expensive but i am getting the results i want from it. I'd probably have fallen off the wagon and binged on food without the guilt of "money has been paid for it, better not fuck it up" and i have became very determined and have high willpower because i have ambitions to join the army when i drop the rest of the weight. So its not "exercise for X months then stop", its a complete lifestyle change.

yeah this isn't a "diet", this is a life style change. I'm just really worried I won't drop weight. I need to see SOME for motivation, you know?
>> Anonymous
>>145730

Well i dont plan on doing any before/after pics right now. I never took pics at the start, and when i reach my target weight i'll be destroying the majority of the photos i find. I cant motivate you from a picture or words, you yourself have to truly want to change and get up and exercise when you feel like shit, and eat the right foods when you dont want to.

You cant change a person who doesnt want to be changed.

Good luck with your diet though, it is achievable if you put your mind to it.
