Well, if you can't run 10 miles, how many miles can you run?
Let's say it's 2. So, go out and run 2 miles. Do that everyday or every other day for a week or so. Then bump it up to 2.5 or 3. Progress isn't really that hard. You start at wherever you are, and then keep increasing slowly until you get where you want to be.
