www.whfoods.com has good DIY nutrition. he takes the nutrient data and cherry picks the "best" foods using scientific data. The theory is: the foods on his list have the most nutritional bang for the buck. pick off the list the foods you like to eat anyway (olives, chicken, mushrooms, spinach, apples, etc.) and just eat those. clean out your fridge and cupboards and toss all artificial / sugar-containing food. Then just grocery shop off the whfoods list. I shed about 36 lbs and it was pretty painless, and I eat a lot better now.
