Loosing My Mind Anonymous
/fit/, I think I'm developing a mental problem.

I've been working out HARD for the past 3 weeks, and strictly controlling what I eat. I'm seeing results, and physically I feel much better then I used to, but it seems that the more I work out, the more I hate myself.

Taunting myself, pushing myself, punishing myself for the slightest deviation from my diet. Whenever I'm along in the house, I take off my shirt and hurl insults at myself in the mirror.

This all sort of culminated last night, when I woke up in the middle of the night, went down to the 24 hour Dominion and bought about 15$ worth of cookies, chips, chocolate bars, and pretzels.

I walked home, and right before I got into my house, my brain sort of turned on automatic.

I turned around, threw it all to the ground, and stomped the shit out of it for about 5 minutes. I got inside, and I was really tense and angry for some reason. I had to have a few drinks before I could get back to bed.

When I woke up the next morning to go to the gym and it was still on my porch. I got a bag, and threw it into the garbage before anyone woke up.

Am I loosing it, /fit/? Is this some sort of Freudian subconscious conflict? Or just the remanance of a bad habit long broken?

If you're loosing your mind, just tighten it back up every once in a while.

Remember, righty-tighty, lefty-loosy.

It isn't (mentally) healthy but it gets results. You need to ask yourself whether the ends justify the means. For me it does, so RAAAGE on.

Lol dude you have all the fucking signs of Anorexia Nervosa.

You better fucking loosen up on yourself before it's too late. Trust me, as a former wrestler in high school, I know ALLLLLLL about it.

Just remember: It's no big deal to have a piece of DELICIOUS FUCKING CAKE once a week or so, just don't make a habit of it, and your diet will still be pristine.

Try having a "cheat meal" once a week, or even a "cheat day" if you're confident you won't go overboard.

I have the same sort of problem, if i don't go out for 2-3 day straight i start acting like a total lunatic, i mumble to myself, death growl while waiting for the trafic light to open, pretend i'm fucking a girl, excessively shave my pubes and go out of the house late at night to do nothing.

Ok my problem is completely different than yours but i had to tell it to someone.

DOES THAT CHEESY SLUTTY SLICE OF PIZZA MAKE YOU ALL HARD AND HORNY? GODDAMN SLUT OF A PIZZA WITH MEATBALLS, YOU JUST WANT TO FUCK IT?!?!?!?!?!

What the fuck why didn't you eat it?

People who are SMART and losing weight have a cheat meal like>>88069said.

It can be once in a week, or once in 2 weeks. Personally my cheat day is saturday.

What a cheatmeal does, is:

Makes you happy-happy :)
Boosts your metabolism like hell.
Cheat meals also makes your tummy make fun sounds :)

You aren't mentally ill, this is called Testosterone. Everytime a man has his first contact with the T, he is scared, because acting out his manly urges have been suppressed so long that he has been turned into girl. Embrace the T, it is all that is good.

Do what i do.

Sunday = Eat whatever i feel like day. Pancakes look yummy in the morning? DING! Last Slice of Cake in the fridge that no one's eaten yet? OM-NOM-NOM (what's even better is they won't suspect it was me! xD )

Rest of the week = back to strict training!

You have no idea how much I identify with you, OP.

The only thing I can do once I start thinking about deviating from my diet is to remind myself (basically beg myself to remember) how bad I felt for the days that followed the last time I did it.

Fortunately, that's been enough lately, but I don't know how long it will last.

Also: "cheat meals" are bullshit because they aren't physically necessary (and thus not "ideal"). No matter WHAT, I could never feel justified; if I cheated on my diet, I'd feel awful, that's it... not vindicated, not satisfied, just awful.

Good luck, OP.

They're not ideal in the physical sense, but it does wonders for your mental health. What's the point of being beautiful if you're just going to break like Ben Stiller in Dodgeball and get fat again? Of course if you're a mother-fucking spartan god you'll never break, but most people don't have minds that resilient, sadly.

a cheat meal is only effective if you've been eating fat/sugar filled food for as long as you can remember. Your body has been acustomed to that kind of food abundance and has learned to do with it. Cut that off and you'll be seriously stressed.

A cheat meal will releave the body of that stress and send "happy" hormones to your brain (actually, from one part of the brain to another). The taste pupils on your tongue will tell your brain that you have ingested sugar filled food and that energy is plenty available.

It could also be that you're being acustomed to the stricness. Just like when you're acustomed to treating someone harshly and you do it without realizing that you're hurting that person.

Could also be an overproduction of testosterone. In that case, cut a bit on the PT or your body will try to balance it out with oestrogen. That's right, bitch tits.

On the side note: stop over-stressing yourself. Acute stress is hella unhealthy. Not only for your mental health, but for your physical health. Muscle growth will stop and fatty cell synthesis will increase. An anxiety attack is nothing to treat lightly, either.
