Ever since I've started college, I heard this, that, and the other about High Fructose Syrup. How for instance if you didn't eat it for a week or two and then put it back and felt terrible? Or my friend who would scour Latin American stores for Coke with cane sugar because "it tasted much better."

Now I'm seeing commercials by the corn businesses about nobody knows shit about High Fructose Corn Syrup and that it's just as good or has the same calories as sugar. http://www.sweetsurprise.com says more about that.

tl;dr: What's the whole deal with High Fructose Corn Syrup? Is it as bad as everyone says, or is the corn company trying to play sin doctor?

It's better than sugar/sucrose, but it's worse than fructose. It's a mix of the two.

But the thing that makes it controversial is that the food industry puts it in fucking everything, so that's a shitload of unnecessary sugar being added to the daily diets of hundreds of millions.

All based on the over-consumption of such substances.
HFCS aren't any worse or any better than any other sugars out there.
