How many of you /fit/fags are actually fit and know what you are talking about. i have seen such rampant ignorance on this board im starting to believe that the percentage of people who are strong (250/325/405) and lean (<12% BF) are under 10%. the rest are just keyboard warriors who can tell people what to do, but don't get results from it

some recent bullshit that i've heard:
Raw eggs will kill you
Meat is bad, beef is bad
Cardio is the best for weight loss
Weightlifting is bad for you
180lbs is too huge
Lifting weights slows down your metabolism
Fish oil will poisen you with vitamin A
NO Xplode works
eating below your RMR (forgot to add activity level fags)
HIIT is more important than resistance training
Meals that contain no protein
emphasis on pure weight loss, as opposed to BF reduction

Welcome to 4chan, a fountain of false information.

the fact that this thread is being ignored while one about blowjobs it packed full just proves how retarded /fit/fags are when it comes to true fitness

welp, in a board dedicated to trolling, no subforum is gonna be immune. but in topics taken semi seriously, idiots are usually corrected quickly. i myself have been corrected on a few things and was happy to see that.

the one trend that i really don't like is the need for constant approval and validation. for example, earlier in the week, this guy posted a thread where he said "i'm a skinny guy who's put on 15 lbs of muscle in the last 4 months using workout plan XYZ. help me /fit/! is this good?"

i'm like "what the fuck?" dude, you're the posterboy for a /fit/ success story. if you're happy with the results so far, great. if you want moar, keep at it, your progress is great. why are you posting? for validation form /fit/ that you're a winner?

and his response was "yes, i actually need your validation".

facepalm.

p.s. i posted in the blowjob thread too.

Free bump for OP, I've seen a lot of the mentioned threads. Even I am guilty of being a 'troll' and a 'keyboard warrior' at times, but I try not to be primarily a troll, and I don't spout random bullshit like I see others do, I only impart what I know or am pretty sure of.

I eat my own faeces. It's creamy, but also vaguely nutty in texture.

Aside from all the trollery, sometimes I've come across some interesting tidbits of knowledge here. But that's only occasionally. We do have some people who know what they're talking about, but they usually only show up in serious discussion threads. And then later continue their trolling in faggoty topics.

7chan's /fit/ is too slow and fuddy-duddy, and 4chon's /fit/ is closer to /k/, /o/, /a/, and /g/, so that's another reason I come to this place.

(Oh btw, small guy here, 5 ft 8, 165 lbs, 1RM's are bench 225/deadlift 335/squat 315. Devoted crossfitter. Don't know BF % anymore.)

True thread reveals truth. Still, if you are really interested in lifting weights, you will not use 4chan as your primary resource (dear God, I hope).

It is obvious that many people, not just on this forum but everywhere. assume that becoming fit is much easier than it actually is. Just look at the average gym-goer if you don't believe me... most of them don't look like they've ever touched a weight. The amount of bullshit out there in the fitness industry (yes it's a fucking industry) is absolutely staggering.

What sucks is that 7chan is down, which has/had a much better, moderated /fit/ board free of trolling and with a solid FAQ.
So instead, we're here and covered in idiot-bumps.

As said above, it has some people who know what they are talking about. Scraps of information gained from here, then confirming it on other sources is helpful. The main reason people like it here is:

1) Anonymous
2) Fast replies. Posting the same subjects on smaller boards will take longer to get discussions going.
3) CP

So what's the story with this 78chan? I wasn't informed!!

How is cardio not the best for weight loss? Are you saying lifting is better?

i'm assuming OP meant that eating healthy with the right amount is the best for weight loss, then comes cardio

personally (and i'm gonna start tripping so you can all keep track of where i weigh in here) i just started to live a fit lifestyle a week ago. tomorrow is my first cheat day and i'm not even quite sure what to do with it. i know beer and cheese will be involved.

anyway i've been lifting for a long time, but only with puny dumbbells and high reps (12-16) and i gained strenth, but plateaued. i recently got an olympic bar and learned to use it, been doing rounded workouts focused around the big 3, and sticking to a strict diet of 25g carbs and 50g protein per meal. in only the last 8 days i've lost almost 10 lbs, and i've gotten in 4 lifting workouts and noticed size and strength gain in all 3 muscle groupings.

so i'm not like a seasoned gym rat, but i'm getting to know what i'm talking about and i get a lot of good advice from a professional personal trainer i work with.
