Well since you intend to do muay thai wich is quite a strenous sport, i'd recommend to do it in place of your hiit. But you should always ask your trainer or coach about this.
Also go and ask if you could talk a trial class to see if you like Muay thai this way you won't geet ripped off of you realize that you don't like it or that this gym sucks.
A good gym should have some heavy bags, some paos, at least a ring, some basic cardio equipement ( bikes, skipping ropes, maybe a threadmill.) and also some free weights.
