hey /fit/what are some good body weight exercises for a runner?I already have:pushupspullupsand i need a few ab exercises to pick from and a few leg exercises.
Heavy squats, Box squats, Plyometric squats.
CrunchesBicycle CrunchesReverse CrunchesSide CrunchesLeg LiftsJUMP SQUTZYou'll get abs of steel. Steely determination, that is.
anything else to suggest in the abs department? i'm just looking for 2 or 3 exercises.
Squats and pistols on a rail. Teaches you balance; intense core and lower workout. Parkour in general works core like crazy.
You want abs? Get a couple of bars together, like you're going to do some dips, then lift yourself up so your arms are straight. Keeping your back at a right angle with the floor, lift both your legs (keep them straight) so they are parallel with the floor. Lower them. Repeat. Fucking ridiculously intense
>>278951I'm not even flexible enough to do that..
>>278962It's not about flexibility. Can you sit? That's the position you're going for. It's about ridiculous core strength.
>>278962then get to stretching
>>278951Make some parallettes (http://www.westsideacademy.com/boysteam/buildit.php); do L-sits, V-sits, dips, rail squats, bar pushups, HSPUs, in&outs, planches, etc.Better yet, do all of the above on rings.
>>278969I have to say, out of all the shit that goes on at the olympics, I have the most respect for gymnasts that do this.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6x4N0AVbjRY&feature=related
>>278964it is about flexibility if you want to do it with the legs extended at the knee
