Shaving tips Anonymous
I can't seem to ever get a shave that I would consider "acceptable", meaning it always looks like it's been a day since I shaved right when I'm done, and I always seem to have a bit of irritated skin when I'm done.

I throw on some Lectric Shave (which is hard considering it comes out like a stream, unless I'm applying it wrong), use some Aveeno Active Natural Therapeutic Shave Gel with natural colloidal oatmeal, shave with a Gillette Fusion (not a Power) and then rinse my face off and apply some Stetson after-shave stuff.

Shaving "with" the grain never seems to give me a good result, but I guess nothing else really does either. Am I just doin it rong? Should I look into an electric razor?

Shave back and forth over the same spots. It may be irritating at first (and I recommend you do it at night so you don't sweat and irritate it further) but eventually you will get more resilient skin.

i use a mach 3 turbo and a $3 bottle of shaving gel, it seems to work well for me. if your facial hair grows slow then you might get the best shave by waiting an extra day before shaving. also get your face wet before applying the gel or cream.

just give it up.
Shaving against the growth direction will only lead to ingrown hairs and akne.

Showering before shaving also helps.

Try Neutrogena For Mean shaving cream, switch razor blades about everyweek, rinse them with cool water(NOT hot. That has helped me. Also shave after you wash your face, this helps soften the skin and hairs.

Rinse your face with warm water right before you apply your shaving cream/gel. Shave with the direction of growth of the hairs. Then, after you're done shaving, rinse your face with cold water.
The warm water in the beginning is the key. Whatever you do, don't shave against the grain. You'll only make ingrown hairs and irritate your skin. You probably also want to wash your face with soap before you shave to get all the dirt and oil off your face. I shave after I bathe/shower so I've already taken care of that step.

the trick to getting your razors to last longer is to thoroughly wash and dry the razor after each use. if they're dry throughout the day then the blades will oxidize slower.

lol.... disposables don't suck, you're just a tool, a sucker for the marketing technique of "HOLY SHIT 20 BLADES! THIS MUST BE FUCKING THE BEST THING OUT THERE!"

Twin blades are just as sharp as your 15 dollar two use quintuple blades.

Considering he has the sense to recommend a wet shave, he was probably not recommending a multi-blade monstrosity.
