What is a good exercise that falls in between standard body weight squats and pistol squats?

I don't feel like doing a hundred reps per set of BW squats, but I'm a bit too weak to do pistols. So I came here to ask you of what falls in between.

Equipment is a huge issue at this point, because I will be moving around for the next two months, which means that getting a gym membership is out of the question, once I finish that, I will go do normal BB SQUATZ in the gym thought. But I have no interest in slacking of for theese 2 months completely, so I come here to ask you for your advice dear mis/fit/s..

Just start doing pistol squats or buy a cheap set of dumbells.

What are good ways to make them a bit easier? I have huge trouble what concerns balancing myself while doing them.

start doing them onto a relativly low chair/bench until you have some balance then start going all the way down, if you have really bad balance get ready to fall a lot but seriously who care? you'll get it eventually

step on a high enough box with one leg and squat down with the other leg hanging down
that'll take care of most of the balance issues
you can also do one legged squats on to a very low box (=as low as your ass would be when doing them without the box), this also makes it easier to balance (but a bit harder to stand up)
