I can't afford a gym membership/ equipment.

What are /fit/s' most financially viable exercise methods?

I'm barely covering rent.
Paying the bills comes before paying for a gym.

bodyweight exercises and resistance bands. I actually read about how TO uses resistance bands almost exclusively during the season, which kinda sold me on the idea. After trying it, cheap, SUPER versatile, and a great workout.

The TO set (which has insane resistance configuration- as in a lot, AND super heavy if you need) is 100 bucks or something. I have some cheapos that a friend gave me, but the TO ones get great reviews.

Also, www.bodyweightculture.com. Personally, I'd start w/ squats, hindu squats, hindu pushups, burpees, pull ups, back bridge, reverse push ups, dive bombers

Thanks.
I'm trying to tone up, I feel pretty weak at the moment.
Although I walk practically everywhere (no car) I don't think it's doing the trick.

haha, walking actually helps a lot. i noticed after i moved back to nyc that i've been drinking more, but not gaining weight, so clearly, i'm burning calories somewhere.

btw, burpees are awesome.

Sandbags.

Or, if you have a younger sibling, you can do certain exercises using them. The more they grow, the more you do too! I've actually gone from 60 to 85lb. curls using my little brother. Granted, it took 2 years, but slow and steady wins the race and he's only going to keep growing.

I notice some difference with walking...
I can walk extremely long distances without tiring. But, I'm not seeing any physical results.

I do eat pretty healthy (on a budget).

Breakfast: Protein shake, cereal with banana and light milk.
Lunch: Chicken and salad.
Dinner: Serving of chicken or fish with lots of vegetables.

Snacks are usually fruit, yogurt and a few almonds here and there.

I do have a job.
I'm paying rent/paying off a degree.

Plus why the fuck would I pay for something that I can do whenever I want at home?

Get a horizontal bar, those aren't expensive. Save up some money and buy an adjustable dumbbell. Don't forget push-ups and other stuff like that
