Hi, I'm the guy who suggested that you purchase an Olympic bar. I'm an 87kg registered "Olympic" weightlifter (I only compete by state). A barbell is supposed to be far more than a "long piece of steel" as you have so ignorantly insisted on a number of occasions, if you plan on doing any serious lifting. You have clearly demonstrated that you know fuck all about strength training, so I really doubt you will ever be lifting more than what that rack/bar can support. Understand that you are posting on a forum of overweight anime fans who probably do not lift at all, so take their advice for granted. Olympic bars are far different from standard bars in that the ends rotate, eliminating the gyroscopic effect placed on your body and therefore the stress on your joints. This is essential if you want to do exercises such as the clean or the snatch. Even cheap "Olympic" bars are far from the real deal if you are interested in serious weight training. A true blue Olympic bar will run 500-1000+ British pounds.
As I suggested earlier, www.dynamic-eleiko.com has top equipment available for purchase.
