So /fit/, I've been running the past two weeks every other day, gradually building up intensity. When I wake up the day after a run, my ankles hurt a little, but after walking around the house they usually feel fine. Two days ago after I ran, I was squatting down to look at something or some shit, and I felt a HOLY SHIT THIS FUCKING BURNS pain down the side of the tibia of both my legs. Putting any pressure on it also made it hurt like a bitch. I took yesterday off and they feel a little better today, but it still hurts to squat down. At first I thought it might be shin splints, but I thought those were supposed to be felt on the front of the leg. I used to run a lot in high school and I don't remember this happening, but I was in much better shape then. Does /fit/ know what this is and how to make it go away?

"but it still hurts to squat down."

then what should you stop doing?

do u stretch/warm up before the runs? also cooling down/stretching after you run is important

It hurts going down the stairs, going up the stairs, doing burpees...basically any time I bend my knees more than 10 degrees.

I've been cooling down, but my "warm up" is a few quick stretches and a sixty second walk. How much should I be warming up for a 20-minute run?

Warmups don't give benefit unless you start the activity within 30 seconds of stopping your warmup.

Stretching gives benefit over time.
