OK /fit/

Right now I have nothing but time on my hands. I can train whenever and how long I want. If I could I'd be in the gym for 8 hours but I don't want to overtrain.

I'm in very good shape and I've been working out for years and I just want to maximize my gains.

Is it better to train many times a day or just once a day is already enough? I'm talking about going to the gym for 50 minutes and working out a muscle group, then going home to eat and rest a bit then come in a few hours later and work the same muscle again.

Is this good? Should I switch muscle groups when I go again the same day? Or should once a day of exercise be enough?

I know it's good to listen to your body and my body is just telling me it has energy to go again and again. Or is my body lying to me and will I be overtraining?

You won't get any serious advantage to training for mass and strength for more than 45 minutes. Also, having shit ton of endurance training will increase the recovery times, likely leading to stalled progress all over the map. You will plateau easily.

I've heard 45 minutes, I've heard 1 hour, I've heard 47 minutes 32.03654 seconds. Lets just say 50 minutes is an estimate since "Studies Show..." isn't the same for everyone.

Also, I'm not doing endurance exercises. I do about 8-10 reps usually ending in muscle failure for my final set.
