I need some help figuring this out. I do 30 minutes of moderately heavy cardio 6 days a week, but I can't lose body fat (I don't gain it either).

I have a weight lifting routine and work my muscles pretty good, but I can't gain muscle mass. I drink whey and eat decent.

Why the hell won't I lose fat and gain muscle.

By the way, I'm 6'2", 170lb. I've been fluctuating between 170 and 180 for the past 2 year despite my workout efforts.

define "weight lifting routine"

Either you gain mussel, or you lose fat. Forget getting both at the same time, isn't going to work. Now for mussel you need more calories than you actually lose, so you can GAIN weight. for fat loss you need less than you need, so you can LOSE fat.

what you are doing is
a) eating balanced, not more nore less than you need, therefor no musselgain/fatloss
b) you hit a plateau, eat moar /less to break it

Dude, you're energy to build muscle is being shot out by your cardio. The more cardio you do, the less you can build/gain muscle.

Gain first, then cut if you want to have the best of both worlds. Can't do both!
Do a light cardio to start off your workout, a quick dash/run to get your heart rate up.
Then jumpstart into muscle-building routine with weight training.
When you feel you've gained enough, then you cardio yourself to cut. Its what I'm doing right now. And I'm 6'2, at 183 lbs. I'm a good deal of muscle with 11-12% BF.

Feels good.

6'2 and being 170 - 180lbs is fine, despite what these faggots will say round here. Just stfu and keep lifting heavier

What's your BF%? Lots of people have trouble going below a certain number. (Although it's usually a pretty damned low number, and you shouldn't need to go below it.)
