Hey /fit/, i recently moved and now live in a place with an exercise bike, one of the ones that have simulated hills and can take your pulse. When I get on the exercise bike and ride for 10 minutes or so my heartrate skyrockets to 192 and I'm sweating like a dog (the bike is in a really hot room) but I'm not out of breath or tired. I haven't worked out for a while but walk around all the time (don't have a car) and used to ride my bike all around town. Why is it so high? Is that dangerous? I feel fine when at those levels, do I need to worry about it?

tl:dnr: my heart rate gets to 192 on a bike and i'm not tired, wtf is going on?

Increase your VO2 max. 192 is a bit high; maybe go lighter until your body gets used to exertion again.

that happens to me too. I'm not tired, nor sweating much but my heart rate is high. Hovers around 190-something, I think I got it to 202 once.

Everyone is different I guess.
