Apparently rowers are one of the best ways to get a general exercise and work many muscle groups.

I'm male, 5'11" 160lbs, relatively small frame... eat pretty well (could do better) and go to the gym 4 days per week for an hour, cardio and weight machines (not deciplined on regimenting.)

I have a slightly weird form I guess. I just can't seem to get rid of the "love handles" while I see guys who are definitely carrying more fat that me but don't have these defined "love handles." *frustration*

I'm moving and may not have access to a gym so I was considering getting a rower and using it at home. Will this be enough to replace a gym workout and lose the extra fat around my stomach? I'm not really focused on getting "ripped." just fit.

If you are only concerned with losing weight and not building muscles than any kind of physically activity where you burn calories will work.(combined with eating less obviously).

The rower is also a pretty solid cardio machine, in any case. It won't replace a gym workout. Nothing will besides getting a home gym. But it will probably be enough to accomplish your goal assuming you are actually motivated to use it regularly.

(OP) I didn't really mean to say "replace" I guess. Obviously, it can't do that. But you CAN build muscle with more of a toned result on a rower, can you not? (abs/legs/arms)

Sure. A rower is probably about the best cardio machine I can think of(though I'm no expert on cardio machines) for working your whole body.

But if you really want to build muscle some weight training will be much more helpful. As far as things you can do without equipment. Pushups, crunches, squats(weigtless is fine do pistol squats once your ripped, and pullups(find a bar somewhere: a playground or something). Those will more than get you started and work almost all of your important muscles.
