Hangovers Anonymous
Greetings /fit/, hope you're all doing better than I am at the moment.

Got a raging hangover and I'm planning on hitting the gym in the early afternoon. Is this a good idea, or should I just hold off until tomorrow when I'm feeling 100%? I look forward to my workouts but I don't fancy squatz, cleans, deadlifts and pull-ups with a hangover...

pic related, it's Squatz Tiger

Drink as much water as possible and see how you feel roughly an hour before your workout. And by "drink as much water as possible" i mean nearly a gallon to rehydrate yourself. Eat as best as possible.

If you still feel like shit don't do it.

WATER WITH ELECTROLYTES AND SUGAR SOLVE HANGOVERS

WATER AND ELECTROLYTES FOR THE DEHYDRATION AND SUGAR FOR THE HYPOGLYCEMIA

A LOT OF PEOPLE SAY JUST DRINK WATER; THESE PEOPLE ARE FUCKING RETARDED AND DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT A DICKLOAD OF NICOTINAMIDE ADENINE DINUCLEOTIDE IS PRODUCED DURING THE METABOLISM OF ETHANOL BY THE ENZYMES ALCOHOL DEHYDROGENASE AND ALDEHYDE DEHYDROGENASE, AND THAT EXCESS NADH WILL BUILD UP IN THE LIVER AND SLOW DOWN GLUCONEOGENESIS, RESULTING IN HYPOGLYCEMIA.

TL;DR I HAVE AN EIDETIC MEMORY AND YOU SHOULD DRINK GATORADE

Drink earlier in the day. I was extremely drunk by 5pm, hangover kicked in around 12-1 and i slept it off. Feels good man.

>ELECTROLYTES
You mean the same electrolytes that you get plenty of from your food?
All that stuff about the body needing assloads of electrolytes is just marketing for gatorade.

IF YOU'RE SAYING THAT YOU COULD ALTERNATIVELY SOLVE THE PROBLEM BY EATING A BALANCED MEAL AND DRINKING WATER, YOUR ARE CORRECT.

ELECTROLYTES, AS I'M SURE YOU KNOW, ARE JUST POTASSIUM, SODIUM, MAGNESIUM, CALCIUM, HYDROGEN PHOSPHATE, HYDROGEN CARBONATE, AND CHLORIDE. YOU CAN GET THESE THINGS IN ABUNDANCE FROM MOST MEALS.

Yeah, that is pretty much what I was saying. That way you don't have to pay money for extraneous, sugary 'sports drinks'.
