Sup /fit/,

Just a quickie for ya. I don't own a luffa, and I'm too cheap to buy one, however considering the point of a luffa, as far as I understand it, is just to get a good lather going, for months I've been using my pubes as a substitute.

Is there any health related downside to this, or am I a thrifty genius.

Wait.. You lather up in the shower with your pubes? Like rub your crotch then rub elsewhere or rip some jolly old hairs off the scrotum and lather up lol

>>37351

Right the first time. Like I said, I can't really see any downside. If anything, wouldn't that make my junk extra clean?
>> Anonymous
Don't see why it would matter unless your washing your cock with some kind of super-drying soap...

But whatever.

You're an idiot.

Loofas offer some minor exfoliation and scrubbing in addition to cleansing. Rubbing handfuls of bubbly soap from your nuts to your chest is just cleansing.

Go to Target/WalMart/CVS and buy one of those little blue imitation loofas. They cost about $1.

That answers my question. Exfoliation is all well and good, but I save that for baths, yknow, when ive actually got TIME. But hey, as long as my method = at least cleansing, I'm gold.

Thanks /fit/!

I do the same but with my chest hair :D. I think the edges of the luffa help remove more built in dirt/ some dead skin// not 100% sure
>> Anonymous
Lol loofahs, thats old-skool. I use those plastic shower scrub net things.
>> Anonymous
>>37370
Real sponge loofas are kinda painful...
>> Guil
Yeah, even in the shower you have time for exfoliation. It's not like you have to scrub hard.
>> Anonymous
What's the point of exfoliation?

And loofahs are gross mold magnets.
>> Guil
>>37401
Tip: Clean your shower more often if you ever see mold.
>> Anonymous
>>37405
I only see it in the depths of a loofah (if there's one around).
>> Anonymous
>>37401
Exfoliation removes dead skin cells for healthier, younger looking skin. = )

And 24 hours is not enough time for mold to develop on a sanitary loofa, one that has had soap on it. So if you're getting moldy loofas, you're not showering enough.

How would soap make something sanitary?
>> Hammerknife !7ITukp3Pj2
>>37446

It wouldn't. I recommend tossing it into a bucket of sodium hydroxide every night.

You serious?
sanitary: Free from elements, such as filth or pathogens, that endanger health; hygienic

soap: a cleansing agent
>> Anonymous
>>37454
You serious? Soap has no antibacterial properties, unless you get one that includes triclosan or some shit (and we all know that's the #1 cause of the upcoming apocalypse). Soap is more of a "rinse enhancer" than a cleanser. It will *not* make something sanitary.
>> Guil
>>37459
Point is, getting soap on the loofa and using it should remove any bacteria that may have been there and thus keep it clean for another 12 hours. If you shower twice a day then seriously, mold should never be present anywhere.
>> Anonymous
>>37469
Why would I possibly shower twice a day?
>> Guil
>>37478
Why would you possibly add possibly?
>> Anonymous
>>37478
I don't shower twice a day, just once, but I can see why people do it. They smell pretty good all day.

I only shower an additional time if I've been sweating hard.
>> Anonymous
Soap does nothing more than remove oils from skin. I have never used soap in my life and my skin is soft, more smooth and a more healthy colour than any of the frequent soap users i know. I could just be healthy allround (i never had achne, not a single pimple).

Soap is just a social-nicety that you do just because it's become habbit.
>> Anonymous
>>37459
If by anti-bacterial you mean "kills bacteria" then ok. But the "rinse enhancement" actually washes away bacteria, without killing it. Your loofa is constantly covered in this super slippery substance and constantly agitated, leaving it pretty much germ free, and thus sanitary.

>>37494
Soap makes you smell nice.

>>37488
Once a day is enough.

I am anti anti-bacterial soap. Killing bacteria only breeds stronger bacteria. Washing away bacteria with simple fat based soaps is better.

>>37494
I think soap is kind of nice when your skin is getting grimy. If I showered more often, I'd probably forego it. I never use it on my face, with good results.
>> Guil
>>37494
Soap also makes you smell nice. And if you actually get dirty over the day it removes dirt better, and the smells associated with it.

I knew someone who was convinced he didn't smell, but wondered why he had a hard time keeping friends. Then one day, when we were apparently friends, I said it to him. I don't know where I got the balls, he could have sat on me- but he denied it and my other friend confirmed it and he just never spoke to us ever again.

The point is, do you smell and not realize it?
>> Anonymous
>>37505
I certainly hope not. I have a sensitive nose, and I'd hate to think it's letting me down.

If you cooked food for me and didn't wash your hands I'd fucking stab you.

Washing hands keeps them clean. Cooking with dirty hands = LOL HEPATITIS AND SALMONELLA

>>37501
It's my opinion that a loofah's geometry is too complex to be effectively cleaned.
>> Hammerknife !7ITukp3Pj2
>>37519

True. Autoclaving or tossing into a vat of sodium hydroxide for 30 minutes will sterilize it, though.

I dont have personal experience with a real loofah. I use one is either called a loofah, or sometimes, a bath net.

Pic related. Blue is the only color that is not really gay, most of the time.

ITT: science class failures

Bacteria: NOT THE CAUSE OF MOLD. MOLD IS THE CAUSE OF MOLD. FUNGUS.

>>37494
Your skin may be healthy looking, but not all dirt can be washed away with plain water. Water really absorbs polar molecules. Nonpolar stuff like grease and oil will simply not come off your body. Those substances are food for microorganisms, and they trap dirt.

Oh, and you may have a sensitive nose, but you probably can't smell your own B.O. at this point. Your olfactory system has a limited ability to sense certain odors. As you concentrate a certain smell that smell seems to dissipate. That's not because it isn't there, it's because your olfactory bulb has run out of neuroreceptors to communicate that it is sensing that stench to your brain.
