Steam Rooms Anonymous
Do you use them?

I tried the one at my gym today after a long workout. It felt fucking fantastic, especially after you leave and everything feels cold.

Are there any health benefits to sweating your ass off in a sauna?

Conversely, can it be bad for you?

i try to use them after my workouts. i met this guy who clearly knew fitness and he said aside from helping sweat off negative toxins in your body and helping with fat or whatever, it also keeps your blood flowing which really helps with your muscles.

Just look at the population of finland, and the amount of health problems because of it.

i do a ghetto steam room like once a week in my bathroom. I fill the tub with hot fucking water and sit in there for like a hour, sweating my god damn ass off. feels pretty good, and flushes all the shit out of your skin.

when i lived in japan i used fuckinghotasshit188degreefahrenheit sauna, and various japanese people were hardcore telling me that it is good for your heart because it raises your beat temporarily the same way running does, giving you healthy cardiovascular system overall

IMO it's good for increasing blood flow to your muscles, and I try and go into the sauna 2-3 times each time I'm at the gym.

I was being sarcastic. There are no health problems caused by it.

We just drink too much alcohol before and after and all the time.

> flushes all the shit out of your skin

can more be explained? I just plain outright completely hate the whole thing, but this shit keeps popping up that it's good for me. and a friend separates to go to the sauna every time we work out together, it's getting annoying.

well, from personal experience, i used wet & dry saunas at the gym. the wet sauna is good if you want to get rid of toxins in the pores and sweat it out (IMO). the dry, i liked just because it was so fucking hot. roughly 210 degrees, 0 humidity made it feel really nice.
the only downside that i got from it was the increased risk of putting too much pressure on my heart. ( i have a bad heart) so my doctor told me not to use it toom uch, but i didn't care. i'd stay in the wet sauna for an hour everyday and the dry for 2 hours every day. i lost about 30 lbs the first month i went, but i also worked out for a few hours everyday as well, so i hope that helps.

clears pores I think...

No scientific evidence but I noticed my skin would break out the first week i was using them every other day. Then after that my incidence of pimples and blackheads went down. now my skins looks great. I paired this with light tanning and my skin looks great

roughly 210 made you feel really nice? either i'm a freak, or you are, my brain can't handle any other meaning. please take no offense, it's just so weird to me. i'll give it *another* shot next time, but i still expect to find it intolerable within minutes and have to leave to breathe.

i do like a hot shower though. although i think it might have to do with I can entirely completely control it. only do occasionally.
