Uhm, 5x5 is good forever.
provided you include a method of progression. Typically that means increasing the load such that by the fifth set, you're capable of 3 reps. Then work to 5x5. Then increase the load again.
To make 5x5 a "mass" gainer, eat more. To make 5x5 a "strength" gainer, eat maintenance.
As for "stronglifts", I donno, but as long as you're not pansying out and use enough intensity (*and* eat enough), you'll gain.
