Hi /fit/

I was wondering, to lose weight, can I completely skip a direct source of carbs in my dinner (I mean rice or pasta), and just get all my carbs from veggies?

I'm an enormous fan of spinach, so motivation-wise, I'm all for it. I just want to know what my body might miss out on.

Pic fucking related. I even eat it in salad.

Yeah sure, that's a good way to cut calories. A typical bowl of rice or pasta has about 400 - 600 calories (the amount most people have in a bowl). A bowl of spinach with other veggies lightly drizzled with vinegar and olive oil is barely even 100 calories (depending on how much olive oil you add).

Carbs and carbs. White rice has little to no nutritional value besides carbs. I think pasta may have iron, fiber, and maybe some vitamins. Spinach is a good way to go, just don't do it for too long at a time or you won't have much energy.

I was thinking just for dinner. I always eat oatmeal for breakfast (at 5.30am), and have a sandwich for second breakfast (at 9am). I wouldn't be able to get through my summer job otherwise, which involves alot of walking around climbing and crawling.

I generally try to get my carbs in the morning. At dinner i usually go with meat & vegetables, you don't need bread, pasta, rice etc.. if you don't plan on using all those carbs in the evening.

If it's any help for the credibility of my post, i've lost 70lb so far. I'm not active at night, so i don't need to eat carbs much.

Eat what you need, not what you want is my way of thinking.
