i'm sorry this is going to be an annoying post to some of you, but here's the problem. my girlfriend wants to get off her ass and exercise. she is very busy between school and work and helping support her mother and siblings so she won't be able to work out more than three days a week. she has been basically sedentary for the past two years because whenever she does have free time, she can't decide what to do because she doesn't like stationary aerobics, she doesn't like running or swimming or bike riding or tennis or weights or lacrosse or soccer... get the idea?
tl;dr what are some FUN, unconventional activities that a person can do that will feel good and require effort (but not too much)?
pic related because it is how i feel when i try to help her

If she doesn't like any of those activities, tell her that maybe it was because she was too fat to be any good at them. Then slap her across the face, tell her to stop being such a whiny bitch, and to get out there and do it.

if she doesn't like DDR, she can sign up for high-intensity dance classes. yoga could work to, since it's pretty unconventional.

She's a dumb bitch, punch her in the ovaries.

Honestly, it's like sitting in a fire and going "shit, this is hot...this temperature is pretty uncomfortable but I don't want to get up."

Exercise is a habit, do it to the point where it's not so hard and it becomes enjoyable. Obviously throwing a fatass on a treadmill is going to be uncomfortable for them at first, but people who make exercise a habit tend to enjoy it.

DDR, yoga, dancing as she cleans up after her sloppy family, (I always used to do this), fencing, karate or other competitive sports (great for women's self defense too), swimming, hiking?

yes i know she says she doesn't like swimmingbut sometimes even just getting in a pool makes you do more work.

working out isn't supposed to be 'fun'

if it was fun, everyone would do it and no one would be fat

now, you may be lucky enough to have an activity that you do on a regular basis that you enjoy, such as a team sport, that helps you lose weight, but most people have to go to the gym and do things they don't really want to do to get the results they want

working out is about discipline and commitment, not about 'fun'

the 'fun' comes from the results and the positive self-image you generate from your satisfaction and the compliments of others

>doesn't like stationary aerobics, she doesn't like running or swimming or bike riding or tennis or weights or lacrosse or soccer
Well you kinda covered the whole spectrum there, there's not much left.

>that will feel good and require effort (but not too much)
Well you just shot it right there.

If your girlfriends want to get off her ass and exercise then she wouldn't be crossing everythnig that involves exercise off her list of thuings she wants to do she. She just wants to be fit without doing anything, and that ain't gonna happen.

Try DDR, ITG or other music & rhythm based exercise games. ITG-bundle with dance mat for PC or PS2 is quite affordable and available pretty much everywhere. Also, they're highly addictive when you start to learn how the game works.

then it is as i feared; there's no helping her until she independently undergoes an internal transformation and gets motivated to help herself. sigh...
it really wouldn't bother me (she's slightly overweight but still has a sexy waist and no cellulite or anything) except she's always complaining about how she wants to lose weight and not acting on it.
