I don't know if this is the right board but I'll post it here anyway.

Pic semi related, I'm male and I have Caucasian hair which is long and quite straight but sort of wavey. I want to have asian like hair, in that I wan't it to not be as sft and frizzy and get shitstorm'd by the wind.

I am considering having my hair chemically straightened. I've heard this makes your hair go dead, but in a way this is what I want. I wan't my hair to be straight, coarse and if i run my hand back through it, it falls back into blace, it doesnt get stuck and fucked up.

Advice?

TLDR; Does chemically straightened hair make your hair more manageable?

also, I'm tired as hell right now, I realize my spelling and grammar was terrible and "want" doesn't need an apostrophe

I've had my hair chemically straightened twice, and the first time it looked very, very good and straight for just a week, and the next time it looked OK and straight for about a day before reverting back to its original unmanageable form. I'd definitely recommend trying it at least once to see how it works on you, but the real advice is do not be afraid to talk to the barber or salonist. Sometimes, all you need is the right conditioner or a good blowdryer. They're professionals, and they can be very helpful.

The problem I have at the moment is that I blowdry it and it goes perfectly straight, but my forehead gets oily throughout the day and by the end of the day my fringe is oily and has started to curl again.

Also, If i get my hair in a style, as soon as I walk outside the wind hits me and my fringe goes to each side, and I can't just shake it back into place, it mess's up and ends up looking like shit.
