hi /fit/, k i've got a kind of problem here

I'm trying to get back in shape and tone up, lose weight ect.

but there's a catch, I can't really do any upper body work, no lifting at all. long story short I fucked up my jaw in a car accident and have been in chronic pain for the past few months everywhere from my shoulders to my scalp

and my doctor highly suggests not to do any upper body work and he said I can run till I die, but until I'm 100% better and feeling 100% better for a good amount of time, it would be wise to take his advice

TLDR am i stuck with only being able to run, walk, bike, ddr?

also some suggestions of alternative workout methods would be graet ^_____________________^

you realise most lifts are performed with your lower body right?

fuck I hate this board.

like?

tell me then nigger, out of everything I did in my routine I did last year I can't think of any other than leg lifts that would apply

squats? nope
dead lift? nope
curls? haha yea right

and when I say no upper body work, i don't mean specific shoulder/arm workouts, I mean ANYTHING having to do with the upper bod at all whatsoever, no lifting period.

leg press, leg curls, back extensions, ghr, there are your legs at least.

i find i do best by ignoring doctors when it comes to exercise advice. i let my body tell me what to do. maybe if they're an actual specialist i'll listen, but i haven't had so much luck with them either.

Well you can work legs but you're not going to look any better with a shirt off with out upper body work and running.

Legs BARELY give any aesthetic appeal.

You can work legs to give you a stronger base to do upper body lifts when your injury goes away.

Or just shoot up some heroin and get to lifting.

how are you able to run...with all that impact...and not have your jaw hurt?

it still does, I generally feel like complete shit the next day after running, but the day after that is alot better

also running is least of it, last time i tried to lift it was a week of hell recovering
