ok /fit/, im sure you guys get these kind of questions quite often but i figured why not.

femanon here (yea, yea get over yourselves), im 18, about 190 and 5'8" and 5 months or so ago i was 210 so i've made a bit of progress. im a size 14 in women's and between and medium and large in shirts (but mainly because of my chest). however, i seem to have hit a plateau. i've changed my eating habits, no soda, no packaged foods, basically all natural vegetarian and exercise probably not as often as i should. i cannot get below about 185 without gaining back those 5 pounds. my goal is basically to get healthy and get to a toned physique.

so yea, i am seeking answers perhaps from other femanons (but really anyone) who don't have the best metabolism and have found ways that work for them. im willing to commit to more exercise and change eating habits again, but really just want various opinions.

yea, i've already heard "get out fat bitch" and the like so save it if you're looking to have any impact.

look, i realize that...hence why i am looking for opinions, actually got a helpful one which was unexpected.

Hmmm...

What I've done is gone into distance running, but I keep it at a moderate pace instead of going for speed. Speed will help with tone, but I find that moderate pace amounts for more calories burned (albeit not as much muscle produced).

I've gone from a size 8/10 to a size 4/6, and am 5'10", and this took about two years.

Once you make it a daily routine, it's not too bad, but be sure to start reasonably. Increase your distance as you feel comfortable. If you can manage to run 6 days a week, and make it over that hurdle of "I fucking hate this...", it's worth the results.

I've got the voluptuous French gene, which gives me a slower metabolism by nature, and I'm not having to make sure I don't go under a certain weight! XD

Another good option is dancing, but be prepared to be just as dedicated and get just as much "discouragement" until your body adjusts to the routine.

You're already doing the wise thing with your eating habits, though you might consider Lean Cuisines. Their pizzas are really good (despite common American hype over "cardboard health foods"), and kind of break the plate'o'salad routine (actually, I hate salads... O.o).

Just stick with what you decide. It's tough as HELL, but the end results (physical as well as psychological) are definitely worth it.

One thing to think about is muscle mass. If you have more muscle than average girls, you'll weigh more. I weighed 145 in highschool, but it was because I had an athletic build. I still do, but I've put on weight since graduating.

This is something I cannot convince my girlfriend of. She swims and has very muscular legs and so weighs quite a bit more than her "ideal" weight. That's the same problem I have. I have an athletic build, so my legs have more mass than other girls. At times I wish I could have the stick figure build, but I don't think it's possible for my body type.
