Get yourself a small bottle of Excedrin to keep by your side, and start taking it when you feel the headaches start. As soon as the headaches get bad (and I mean, you can't move because staying still hurts less bad), allow yourself a soda. JUST ONE. And then wait a bit, because the blood pressure spike that you receive from that spike of caffeine will ensure that you'll stay in pain for an hour or so longer. Just keep taking that Excedrin. Once the pain has gone away, prepare to start the process over again, but this time, hopefully, the threshold point for when your withdrawl will start will be significantly lower, and if you're really lucky, you might not get any headaches at all.
That's exactly what I did, and I've been off caffeine and sugared sodas for 3 months now.
