the classic "beer gut" is excessive internal visceral fat. It specifically has been linked to Diabetes and heart attacks much more than under the skin fat. Current medical research has led to people calling visceral fat "killer fat" Since the metabolic disturbance that casues beer guts also cause heart attackes/strokes/diabeties.

Good news? Exercise gets rid of it. And generally pretty quickly, and for sure much faster than subcutaneous (under the skin) fat. Its becasue visceral fat is like a charged battery where the other fat is like a bunch of coal waiting to be burned at the power plant.

So, eat healthy, and exercise.

Charged battery versus coal huh?

You're an idiot. Visceral fat is fat that is inside the abdominal wall, rather than on the outside. It surrounds the organs. It creates the "firm" looking fat belly (because the fat is behind the abdominal wall, pushing the abdominal muscles out) as opposed to the flabby fat.

It is much harder to lose than subcutaneous fat, according to, oh, everyone on the planet, except for you.
