I've been on the "take in less calories than you burn" diet for a while with some success, but I'm curious, is there a good way to avoid food cravings?

Hunger pains are easy to ignore, but when it comes to a food craving I have issues with not eating more than I should. I'm not a fatty, and my diet has been working, but I'm curious if there's a way to curb these cravings.

Have a cheat meal sometimes. Or eat out, but in a healthy way. For example, I ate lunch at Wendy's in a way I don't even consider bad. I ate a grilled chicken sandwich, only 320 calories. A few days ago, I went to DQ and got a small chocolate sundae, was only 280 calories. Just eat smart.

Why cause yourself unnecessary pain? Just eat your exact BMR in calories and you won't ever gain any weight while being healthy. You are an idiot if you buy into starving yourself to lose weight. You will lose weight, but you will never ever maintain it.

Think of it this way: If you have a BMR of 2000 calories and eat 1500 calories a day, you will lose 3,500 calories a week. If a pound is 3,500 calories (bullshit number it probably is less) plus 1,000 cardio and other shit, you will lose 709 lbs a year. I'm sure that is very realistic.

tl;dr you are a fucking idiot.

Are you an idiot? When they say "take in less calories than you burn" they mean for you to change your foods in a way that you feel full while taking less calories. That's why the dieting world has some seriously fucked up ersatz foods that is supposed to mimic the real thing.

Hunger pains are BAD. It can cause ulcers and all manner of digestive problems when you get out of your diet and eat to maintain the weight.

It also incidentally causes food cravings, which will cause you to jump out of your diet.

If you have a craving for, say, a chocolate milkshake, make one yourself using powdered cocoa and full cream milk, no sugar.

If you have a craving for say, a slice of mud cake, then make the mud cake yourself, so you can control how much goes in it.
