sup /fit/i ride my bike (pic semi-related) everyday for about 45 minutes twice around my block, 5 milesi ride at the highest resistance, at a steady pace, with occasional bursts of speedmy question is: am i burning any significant amount of fat? i have a bit of a belly that i'm trying to get rid of. i'm also supplementing with weights and good diet.also, are there any alternatives to HIIT?i've already tried it with both sprinting and cycling, but it's too dangerous around here
>>45617120 miles of bike riding up a mountain=1/4 mile of jogging on a flat surface
>>456197fail
you should be spinning at around 90rpmpushing a big gear at low cadence is going to ruin your knees
>>456210so low gears at high RPMs?i always thought going at a high gear would strengthen my quads. i don't have any knee problems but i don't want any either.
>>456197Are you serious?
>>456246fuck yeah i am.i can ride my bike across town without breaking a sweat on a hot summer day.on a cool day, i'll run for about 5 minutes and i'll already be exhausted
bicycling 14- 15.9 mph, racing or leisure, fast, vigorous effort, 30 mins, 404kcalrunning, 6 mph (10 min/ mile ), 30 mins, 404kcalhttp://www.dietandfitnesstoday.com/calories-burned-calculator.php
>>456210Eh, I wouldn't suggest 90 cadence for someone who's new to riding bikes, and doesn't have clipless'. Op, anything above 60 is fine. Don't drop down below that, or you'll risk ruining your knees.
Are you biking specifically to lose fat? If so, just do HIIT with running if doing it on a bike is "too dangerous."
>>456210are you fucking drunk?
>>456210are you fucking drunk?>>456264haha, no that just means you're a fucking tool. holy shit, think about what you just said and work it the fuck out you fat, useless cunt.
