At the beginning of this year my friend convinced me to start lifting, over the past few months I have reshaped my diet into a pretty decent one. Here I am now with noticeably less fat but I'm still kind of chubby only with muscle now. I haven't done much cardio but I am going to be changing that. What I want to know is if combining stronglifts 5x5(Mon/Wed/Fri) and cardio(tues/thurs/sat) is a good choice.

I'm 5'9-178 lbs (around 14-16% BF)

yes do it. just cut back on your calories when cutting. 500 is good. adjust to however you like.

are you joking? most people have to start out with 45lbs otherwise they won't be able to do half of essential lifts

I'm talking, thrusters, overhead squat, hang power cleans, hang snatches, hang clean & jerk, shoulder press, push press, and even front squats

hell any lift can be helped by just the bar, you need to learn form and the best way to do it is with just the bar

OP, you are going to burn out doing heavy lifts like that 3 times per week. Much less cardio for every day in between. I recommend 2 days lifting heavy and 2 days max cardio for the first few months. adjust your diet and sleep, then go for more if you feel strong enough. Beware of overtraining.
