Why hello there /fit/.

I have a question which will divide itself into several subquestions. I've been going to the gym 2 times a week for the past month or so and I'm just wondering how much I should be able to do as far as lifting goes. I'm about 5'11 and 300ish pounds.

My current maxes are:

Bench - 170 5x4

Legpress - 630 5x3

Deadlift - 230 5x5 (haven't tried more yet, getting the weights onto the fucking bar wears me out more than the exercise)

Squats - Dunno, I haven't really started these yet, the first time I tried was with 230 and I lost my balance and fucked my finger, so I'm having to start light and train up my stabilizers.

That's pretty much what I do, aside from cardio.

Thats pretty much what I do and I'm 130. Honestly, just drop the leg press, I know it looks impressive but I've found it really gets no results. Your main focus should really be on squating, as they are the meat and potatoes of your workout. If you just starting going to the gym, this is certianly a start, but make sure your supplementing your diet with a large amount of protein(You should make sure around fourty-five to fifty percent of your calories are coming from protein, as your a big guy and while you have strength, if your trying to burn fat, your going to end up losing muscle if your not getting enough protein.), streching, and a healthy amount of sleep at night.

Tl;Dr so far so good, but SQUATZZZZZ >>>> Leg Press

Thanks for the advice. I had previously read here that legpress was far inferior to squats, but after smashing my finger I was a bit timid to try again; but now I'm back at squats again and working my way up.
