the last time i run a timed 1.5, (it actually the last time i run 1.5 since i am long distance runner) it was 7:30, it wasnt my best tho, probly couldve made 7:10 if i were properly rested and hydrated. also it was almost 6 month ago and i significantly advanced in running since then so its proly even less now...

Only semi related, but have you <6 minute mile runners ever done it on a treadmill? On a treadmill, I can usually manage a 12 minute mile (a bit under 6 mph). At the 10 or so MPH required for a 6 minute mile, I feel like that's very close to a full on sprint. I'm too apathetic to compare against a track (and I know I ain't running a 6 minute mile any time soon, regardless of the difference between track & treadmill), but I was curious if any of you anons can offer a comparative measure of the two.

Distance runner here also... The closest thing to a 1.5 mile I have done would be a 5K race (3.1 miles, basically 2 1.5's) with an overall pace of 6.25.

Best time ever was 11:50

Currently its probably around 13 something

I always feel treadmills are off on speed also. Like I can cover 6 miles out on the road in the low 40s with a semi-light jog. But it somehow takes a lot of energy for me to cover 5 miles in one hour on a treadmill. I'm wondering if anyone can explain this.

9:56, blargh.

hit the first mile on 6:03 and the second one my pace slowed a little. It was on a cinder track and not a rubber track though so i wonder if i can chip a few seconds off it on a rubber track

8.27 guy reporting in.
no, i'm not lying.
mandatory conscription for 2yrs does wonders.
plus, where i'm from you need to take a physical fitness test every year. all way till you're 40ish.

467296 dude here, you are mistaken, i am not that fast, guys that are into athletics at my uni beat me to the ground.

not everyone on /fit/ tends to be powerlifter or xbox hueg powerlifter, some of us are deticated ourselves to other stuff, i myself addicted to long distance runs, nothing makes me more happier (well except one thing: running with a girl and then having consensual sex in the missionary position with her)

Yeah its awesome. Girls that run marathons are stereotypically tall, thin, and have long, muscular legs. Extra awesome if you meet one that used to be a porker and got into it to lose weight. They lose all the weight but retain some of it in the right places (ass specifically).
