Sometimes I can sleep normal hours and other times I will sleep very erratic hours, like yourself. I'll keep switching back and forth between nights and days. Right now I'm currently on nights. It has nothing to do with my job, which is always days.

i fly half way around the world regularly (12 or more time zones). i try to stay awake as long as i can before falling asleep to get synched to the new time zone. for you, try staying awake from 5 am to midnight then go to bed.

but, how the hell can you consistently sleep 12 hours a day?

No idea when it began, sometime when I was a child. I've had times where you say like Tyler Durdan, reall delirious moments from lack of sleep. Thos are pretty rare now, but I'm still stuck with the rotating days/nights problem.

12 hour days sound like some kind of underlying illness.

Myself I sleep 3-4 hours a night. Tops. I can't 'force' myself back to sleep either. It really sucks, and I never feel well rested. Just tired or less tired.

that sucks...well, im 18 and its the summer of my Senior year does that have anything to do with the 12 hour days?

Two choices: 1. The brutal one. Get up at 9 am or whenever you want and force yourself to stay awake.
Gotta do this for some days till your body adapts.

2. Go to bed even later every day.
That means go to bed at 6pm and get up at 6am.
Continue this, at some point you'll switch back to normal.
