You can have a broken/dislocated foot without knowing it. If you only get pain (though it will probably be pretty severe pain) from motion/contact, then that is probably what it is. The fact that it is only on one foot corroborates this.
Question: do your toes hit your shoes? The golden rule is that there should be a thumb's width from the tip of your foot to the tip of your shoe, and the shoe should be wide enough to never squeeze your toes together. Remember to kick the tip of the shoe on the ground to fully test for this, as shoes tend to slip forward ever so slightly when broken in.
