he's right. this is a common mistake and can really damage the disks in your back when you start upping the weight.
i dont know if you are aware of this but you need to watch your b12 and iron intake since you're a vegetarian. b12 is only found in animal products (milk is a great source) or foods fortified with it. also, vegetarian iron sources are not absorbed as well as animal sources. if you decide to take a supplement for iron, make sure it is chelated. hope that helps. good luck
