If you try to do both, I imagine its next to impossible to have the right diet. Think about it. If you work out hard, you need a certain amount of protein to build muscle. If you get too little, you won't get any bigger; so although you might be losing fat, you aren't gaining muscle. If you get too much, you'll start putting on fat; so although you'll be gaining muscle, you'll also be a fatty. That's why /fit/ is always screaming BULK THEN CUT, OVER AND OVER!
