Okay /fit,
you guys can be ass hats about things, but overall your advice is almost always on the money. So here's the scenario, I looked in the mirror about a month back and decided that I gotta start taking care of myself. I'm female, 5'11" and weigh about 195 lbs, definitely no good.

So I started going to the gym twice a week; did 20 mins of time on a stationary bike, then went through a light weight routine that I've been building up on. I've also cleaned up my diet, fast food maybe once a week thing and SLOWLY kicking my soda habit(It's a work in progress). Looking to get down to about 145~150 in about a year(If it can be done faster safely, I'm all ears).

tl;dr of things, I haven't lost any weight yet. What am I doing wrong? If it helps any, the doc's had me on Zoloft since July(I've heard people say that anti-depressants and weight loss are not good friends).

Pic not really related, but I like Tamaki's hair and everyone calls her a healthy girl.

Good start. The fact that after a month you haven't lost a pound could mean that you need to increase the intensity of you cardio and/or increase the weights you're lifting. (It could be your diet still needs work as well.) The key is to increase slowly. Bike at a faster pace than last week. Increase weights in increments of 5lbs. You will see results, keep at it.

Stop lifting LIGHTWEIGHT BABIES and start lifting HEAVY ASS WEIGHTS and you'll notice a difference.

Pro-Tip: Endo/Ecto/Mesomorph isn't a real word, or a real thing, and doesn't mean anything.

OP you haven't mentioned your eating habits at all. This shows to me that you don't know what you're doing. Tell us your eating habits and we can help.

That's abit careless on my part.

I'm thinking part of the killer would be missing breakfast(Get up at 6:30, hurry to work by 7:00 on four days a week).

Lunch, my b/f packs me either a turkey or tuna salad(No fat mayo used) on whole wheat. Usually have either a pear or an apple with that.

Dinner is something usually stir-fried. Typically veggies, chicken and a little bit of soy sauce served with a side of rice. Sometimes pasta with a non-meat tomato-kinda-sauce(Pomadoro, he called it?). He's got a book of low fat stuff he picks this from.

Been taking to snacking on carrot sticks, apples or whatever fruit happens to be on sale.

Does that help much?

Also I forgot. I tend to drink mostly iced tea... except usually lunch and dinner 'll end up being taken with a cup of soda. I know the soda's not so good, I'm working on it tho.

From now on make sure you get breakfast every morning. You will wreck your metabolism otherwise.

Snack pretty much constantly through out the day on the snack foods you're having now. This will keep your metabolism high.

Thanks for the advice. The b/f has been pretty good about stressing the spot toning/reduction being a myth and pretty much every weight-loss pill on the market is just fail that eats money. Nice to hear it from other sources tho.

What works better with the weights? More reps with less weight or fewer reps with more weight? And about how many sets should I be aiming for before I feel reasonably sore(Enough that I'd probably feel it the next day)?

You don't have to worry about the number of sets, if your aim is to get reasonably sore (which is good) then you do as many as it takes you to get reasonably sore.
