Greetings /fit/. I only saw this board for the first time today and if you guys are only half the assholes that the others are on other boards, maybe you can help out a brother.

First off, I'm trying a new exercise routine with a buddy that involves some boxing, but my wrists are very frail and the punches take their toll on them. Do you guys know of any simple exercises which could strengthen wrists? In before fapping, obviously.

Secondly, a health concern for those of you in the know. My limbs are generally quite unstable and tend to shake a lot when stationary and suspended. Could this be indicative of anything? It's somewhat humiliating and no amount of mental focus seems to keep them steady. Any ideas?

Thanks a lot, guys.

I can only help you with the first, seeing as I myself had incredibly crappy wrists before I started hitting the boxing bag on a regular basis.

Take it easy and do it often, you'll harden up and get in the technique eventually.

So they will shake and tremble even when at complete rest? I have essential tremors that cause my hands/feet to shake horribly when I'm trying to use them, but they're still when I have them at rest. Maybe google 'Essential Tremor' and see if it fits you, or just look up an encyclopedia list of different kinds of tremors and see what fits.

Wrap your wrists up.
Boxing bandages.

Firstly, the press-up will be your best friend here. Try doing press-ups with the back of your hands, with the knife edge of your hand, etc.
Also, wrist curls with very heavy weights

Well, push ups on knuckles are good for training the muscles that stabilize your wrist, so that's an idea.
Another thing you can do is stretch your fingers as far from each other as they can get, then bend your wrist as far backwards as possible, you should feel the muscles tightening when done right.
Then you can bend your wrist the other way, and close your fist as hard as you can, you should feel that as well.
This is actually quite good for most people, since these are muscles you don't normally train.

To strengthen your wrist for boxing you should try forearm exercises. Check out a bodybuilding/strength training book for wrist and forearm exercises.

You can try a weight wrist roller which is basically a tube with a string wrapped in the middle with a weight on it. As you roll the tube the string lets out/rolls up and moves the weight.
Also wrist curls. Basically it's just like a biceps curl, but instead of bending at the elbows, let the wrist be the moving joint.

And when doing barbell press/bench press. Keep your wrists straight like in a punching form (some people tend to let their wrists flop back as they press) This will work the muscles that keep the hands in that punch form.

Well also consider doing some functional training boxers don't just practice by punching all day. Alot of their training consists of jogging, lifting weights doing full-body workouts.

I think the shaky limbs is your nervousness that causes erratic muscle tension. Exercise.

Conditioning.

Get a punch bag and use it, make sure you don't damage the wrist, just make sure its getting regular shocks.

These shocks will encourage the bones to become more dense, and you will get stronger wrists/arms

OP again. Sorry for double posting. Shit, your 'essential tremor' talk seems like it just might be on the money, as I had a quick read about it. It's that or confidence, or possibly even a subtle mix of the two. Anyway. At least I've got a name for this demon. Thanks again and farewell.
