Hai /fit/

I'd like you to take a minute a listen to my story. It's a very fucking short story.

Before I went to the gym, I could do up to 100 push-ups. But when I began lifting, I dropped push-ups almost entirely, doing 20 or so as a warm-up. Now after five month of powerlifting all's good, shit's working, but I can't do more than 30 push-ups. WTF??

Picrelated.

This sorta happened to me too
I use to be able to do 60 or 70 pushups in a minute, although i always thought my arms looked quite small.

Once i started to work out, I saw a big increase in arm size, but i can only do about half the amount of push-ups

They say push-ups is an endurance thing, not a strength exercise. DQMOTT

You get good at what you train.
Train pushups and you can do pushups.
Train benchpress and you can do benchpress.
One does not benefit the other.
