Hello /fit/,
This is my first time here, and I came seeking advice. I am currently 6'6" 275lbs. I would like to be around the 220lbs mark, but I would be satisfied with 240lbs. Last June, when I graduated High School, I weighed in at almost 300lbs, and I had to do something about it, so I cut off drinking soda, stuck with water/brewed Iced Tea, and dropped 30lbs. This was before I got my job, I recently got a job on the 3rd shift at The Home Depot, I am very active here, lifting boxes or bags weighing from 40-100+lbs all night long. I still drink a lot of water, and iced tea, but my weight loss has seemed to plateau, I haven't lost or gained any weight for a while now. I have a Bowflex, but I'm simply too tired when I get home to use it, and when I wake up after sleeping, I usually get on the computer until work. It is also being used as a coat hanger by a roommate who kind of lives in the room that it is in.

I was wondering if anyone out there has some pointers on what I can do to start losing weight again.
I really want to hit 240lbs, because then I can get into the Navy, and once I do that I will hopefully drop down to my goal of 220lbs.

Thanks guys.

Pic related, it's kinda what my body looks like. (Except I'm white. Also, the bumps on either side of my ribcage aren't as big)

Wonderful. That's not advice though.

Check out your diet a bit more. See how much over all fat you are taking in and how many calories over all you taking in. Also, see about adding in a light 20 to 30 minute job before work. This should get your body ready to drop weight while you are at work doing your thing.

If I had to guess how many calories I was taking in, I would say ~1700?
At work I don't eat anything and just drink bottles of water, when I get home from work I usually have breakfast, which usually compromises of what's left in the fridge. Anything from Mac and Cheese, to a Blueberry Muffin. When I wake up, I usually have whatever was for dinner, which again ranges from pork roast to ravioli.

That might be half your problem. Eat small meals during the day. Baked chicken (no salt added when baking, you can find good stuff to put on there that has little or no salt), sandwiches, lots of water to keep yourself flushed out. High protein and low fat are what work for me, but you'll have to figure out the combo that works for you.

I tried 2x the meat 2x the vegatables, little or no carbs, but it was tough. :[

I'll try that though, Thanks.

Carbs aren't evil, contrary to popular stupidity. Carbs, like anything, are meant to be taken in in moderation. Take in what your body feels it needs and be done. You should probably be eating four or five small a day, which will most likely kick your body into fat burning over drive.
