Yes.

ok

Not quite. The body is more complex.

However, it's close enough for someone new with shit tons to lose. Close to 8% bf, more tricks are needed.

No, Losing weight is eating the right amount of calories and burnning fat not just calories.

Example I am a 6'0 150-155 pound guy who needs to take in 2,300 calories a day not just to lose weight but to gain muscle too.

Losing weight - yes, kind of. Your body can adjust to caloric intake over time, and you'll quit losing weight.

Losing fat - yes, but you'll lose muscle mass, too.

1. Eat less, but not so much that your body goes into starvation mode and adjusts.
2. Exercise to keep your metabolism up and to burn fat.

tl;dr : Fatties should do cardio and some strength training, and have about a 800-1000 calorie deficit/day to reach a maximum 2lb/week weightloss.

it is that simple IN THEORY

but in practice, the "burning more calories" part of the equation is what is hard, as your body adapts in the burning department based on what you put in your body, how much of it you do, and how you choose to burn it off (e.g., a swimmer's body will store more fat than a runner's body)

Protip: 6 small meals is still eating less because you generally eat less overall
