Why is Mehdi such a weakling? His best lifts are my training weights, and I've only been doing Stronglifts for 3 months. He's the exact same height and weight as me as well.

"His current best raw lifts: 165kg (363 lbs) Deadlift, 130kg (286 lbs) Squat, 100kg (220 lbs) Bench & 65kg Press (143 lbs). You can follow his training log in StrongLifts.com Forum. Mehdi weighs 75kg/165lbs year through with 10-12% body fat at 1m73/5?8?."

maybe he uses proper form?
idunnolol

also who cares.
>> Anonymous
It's because he's European
>> Anonymous
who the fuck is this guy and why do you care that he doesnt lift as much as you?

oooh you're special
>> Anonymous
Medhi would get better gains if he did Starting Strength or the Texas Method.
>> Anonymous
>>458394

If he starts a strength website and gives people advice, I expect him to be putting up better numbers
>> Anonymous
He hasn't updated his About page ever since he's set up his website. Who the fuck cares anyway.

why are economics professors so poor?

why do millionaires need to get paid to teach others how to be millionaires?

its not what you are its what you know.

do you really think every football coach was an amazing record breaking athlete? Do you even think many of them were above average? Most of them went into coaching because they couldn't hack it as players.

Those who can't do, teach. simple as that. if that guy knows everythign under the sun and has personaly trained people to reach amazing limits then waht the fuck do i care if he can't lift that much? If his knowledge can bring me to the next level than that's all that matters.

I'm not saying its okay to be totaly inept in your field as long as you know what to do but nonetheless, it's not necessary to be at the aboslute top either. you can still teach valuable things that others can use without necesarily being a prime example of it yourself.

It's probably much much higher now, I would assume.
>> Anonymous
I don't know about you guys, but those numbers are pretty good to me.

Now, if his lifts were 100 lb deadlift and squat, THEN I'd be doubtful of his program.
>> Anonymous
>>458437
Check the last page in his training log in the forums, he's still hovering around those numbers.

>>458462
I disagree, if he really knows what he's doing, then he should be able to apply it to himself, even if he's not the most genetically gifted athlete in the world. Genetics aren't an excuse to have beginner numbers. If he's going to be teaching strength, I at least expect to see what a last place finisher in a powerlifting meet would throw up.

like its something special, here in flanders almost all weightlifting e-warriors know each other, dont act like he's some kind of godlike guru. he's just applying the same principles as rippetoe, pendlay and rippetoe, only he has the physic of a deported jew and he knoxws how to promote his website, big deal

>same principles as rippetoe, pendlay and rippetoe

lolwat, psyche? x is nowhere near w, o, or even s.

I agree that his whole site is basically combining other sources.

I've read through some of starting strength and stronglifts descriptions and exercises are pretty much the same.

I think he meant 'physique'.

Also 'x' is right under 's'....

wow, didn't know he was that weak
>> Anonymous
he has not created anything

that medhi guy is worse than rippetoe.

medhi ripped off a rip off and then just put it on the interbutz, which is just a step above straight up rapidshitting SS off his homepage
>> Anonymous
well, I hit those squat and deadlift numbers 2months into starting strength at bodyweight of 180lbs (6'4'') so uhh at least rip has something right.
>> Anonymous
>>458892
rip did do something right

completely copy Bill Starr and market it as his own product. 100%

>deadlift 363
>squat 286
lol wat

protip: deadlift, squat, bench press, overhead press, power clean, etc are not copyrighted. Neither are oats and milk.

Rippetoe, Mehdi, Starr, etc. are only giving common sense advice that everyone should know.

At least Mehdi knows he shouldn't charge for his book.

You idiots should sometime read his intro.
He does not say he invented a new formula, to the contrary, all he says is he read a lot of books and took what he thought was best.
He is even quoting Rip and recommending other shit.
Now what's good about stronglifts is that it's easy to access via net and his shit is solid.
>> Anonymous
His website contains lots of helpful advice and he personally replies to email queries.

I don't care what he lifts
>> Anonymous
He takes what he doesn't fully understand from guys a lot smarter than him, and presents it to a bunch people preaching that they'll be successful - lol just like him. There's a reason Rip and Starr program things the way they do, because it works. Mehdi and his Stronglifts site takes a time tested idea and actually makes it worse. That's why he's such a weakling, because of inferior programming methodology.
>> Anonymous
>>459746
so should I stick to Rippetoe's 3x5 from starting strength?
>> Anonymous
>>459775

Yes
>> Anonymous
who gives a shit about his lifts are.

SL is a beginner program where noobs can get everything they need including a forum for good advice and support. Can you get huge on SL? yea probably. Are there better programs out there once you hit a certain point in your lifting? yes, most definitely. READ BOOKS AND LEARN FROM VARIOUS SOURCES FUCKERS. You would be ignorant to take the word of any man without other opinions in mind.
>> Anonymous
>>459811
you obviously havent heard of Rippetoe.

he is all you need, evar. much like jesus
>> Anonymous
I doubt most of /fit/ can lift more than that. He might not be awesomely impressive, but those lifts aren't terrible for a guy who trains casually and isn't a powerlifter.

I can barely bench 100 pounds :( something has to be wrong with me.
