Hello /fit/

I'll be blunt, I want a great butt. I want an ass that is so toned that when people see it, they can't resist grabbing it and playing with it. A perfect butt.

I don't have much fat on me, and am already in pretty decent shape. I'm an avid runner, and have done a bit of weight training. I like my legs how they are. The problem that I'm having is that when I do the more typical ass-toning routines, my legs seem to get the brunt of it, and gain size in excess of what I'm interested in, while my butt grows rather slowly. I'm having trouble finding something that focuses my butt with optimal precision for maximum results.

Any ideas? My goal is to spend the summer on this.

Squat, heavy. Remember to sit back so your quads dont do 100% of the movement. (Think pulling a rope with your legs bent and pushing PUSHING out your ass as far as you can- now in this position, squat down keeping your lower back arched and chest high)

The magic bullet is squeezing your ass when you come up with the bar. Go down until your ass almost touches the ground, come up explosively (don't bounce at the bottom, down, stop, EXPLODE UP) and after you are halfway up SQUEEZE YOUR ASS CHEEKS TOGETHER, like you are ripping my penis in half.

Supplementary exercises-

Deadlift, will tone your hamstrings making your ass look bigger/nicer in proportion

Theres a billion other pointless/wasteful exercises that will get you a similar ass those sexy brazillian girls get with genetics- but squats will get you there inside 2 months. Please squat with free weights, as using a shirley machine will limit your ass development.

Anyway, to answer the OP's question and hopefully put this thread to rest, there's no exercise that can change the shape of your butt or hips, however you can improve its musculature and manipulate your bodyfat to change its appearance. I can't say how effective this would be, and I know for certain that unless your ass has the general shape of the pictures anyway, yours will look different. Not bad by any means, but different.

Full squats hit the glutes pretty hard, and other than that and the transverse abduction (pic) I can't think of anythnig that would focus directly on it. Serves as a supporting muscle in many exercises, of course, including simple running. Perhaps a focus on the movement of the gluteal muscles will help you stop the workouts being leg orientated.

So sorry to break up the bitchfest that invariably happens whenever a female posts, I figure I'd actually give some helpful advice. What you are looking for is this:

It will teach you to "activate" your glutes to use them more during exercise, and stop letting your hamstrings take the brunt of the work.
