What does /fit/ think of slim-fast for somebody who is 6'1" and 257lbs?

If I was completely committed to it and biked about 4 miles everyday, plus some swimming, how much could I lose by summer?

why is slimfast fail

also, biking 4 miles is NOTHING unless its uphill both ways. 4 miles on a bike is like 15 minutes

up your biking to like 10-20 miles.

aim for 1 solid hour as a starter. if you feel lucky go for more. check your pulse, if your heart isnt beating hard then you arent working hard.

slimfast only works if you replace meals with it. if you replace a 700 calorie meal with 1 slimfast every day and you DONT make up for that calorie defecit, it will work out for you.

pictures lie, but numbers dont. weigh yourself on a scale once a week, and no more. DO NOT measure one days progress. measure a week of progress.

also, stay consistent. if you are going to fucking diet then sign a pact in fucking blood. most pussies quit diets because they don't see results in 2 weeks.

I don't agree with the weigh yourself once a week thing. If you're anything like me, you'll find your weight fluctuates a lot day to day, and if you measure yourself every Monday, you might find you weigh more even though you're actually losing weight.

Take this for instance, the other day, I was 15st exactly. The next day, I did a lot of weight training and when I checked the scales I was 15st 4lbs. The next day again I was back to 15st.

What you need to do is measure your weight every day at the same time so that you can realise how your body works.

I would suggest getting an excel spreadsheet and inputting your weight every day, with a set of rolling averages. You can find these online. The ones at the Hacker's Diet website are good.
