Tread water. i do:

1 minute tread.
1 minute rest.
1 minute tread with hands out of water.
1 minute rest.
1 minute tread touching my ears.
1 minute rest
1 minute tread while reaching for the sky.

Not only the back but the FRONT of your calves will burn, burn like hell. the front is also mad important for those fun activities like running

dont forget to read about treading technique!
