Just thought I'd pause plyometrics to say LOL I'M WORKING OUT AND YOU'RE EATING UNHEALTHY OR NOT MOVING AT ALL
>> the ides of march !!7Z/3gj5ZXsu
Get back at it, faggot. Your heart rate is going down.
>> Anonymous
chances are you're some tool who doesn't know what the fuck to use plyometrics for. the fact that you consider it a "fitness" type of workout means you're doing it all wrong. Have fun with fucked up knees in a year or so. Leave that shit to the real athletes numb nuts.
>> Anonymous
its called resting. when you lift as much and as intensely as I do (2day split), you need as much as you can.
>> Anonymous
wait..a 2 day split? Do you mean you work only two days a week or what?
>> Anonymous
>>389068
Chances are you are a fat fuck who doesn't know what "tool" means. I use plyometrics to work out my legs. Knees wont hurt because I land on the ball of my foot.

so yeah
>> Anonymous
like i said, you don't know what plyometrics are used for and you don't have the basic grasps of the human body. ou really think landing on the ball of your fat magically reduces all the impact on your joints?
>> Anonymous
>>389099
Yes, but not magically. What do you mean using them right? It's just a workout routine.
>> Anonymous
no, it's not "just a workout routine". They're meant to improve and workout explosivity and rapid response. They are not meant to elevate the heart rate, they are not meant to burn fat, they are not meant to work out legs, they are not meant to tone muscle. You can do explosive movements in a work out but you can't do real plyometrics.

You are either seriously going to fuck up your joints or you are not really doing plyometrics. Box jumps and ring jumping are some example. Seriously, be careful. Don't start thinking plyo's are just a way to workout. They are extremely hard on the body and should be done very carefully. If you're doing box jumps as fast as you can because you're overwieght and want to lose some lbs...then wow..hoenstly bro, just watching out for you. Be careful.

>>389119

So are you saying people that do it for the "right" reason don't fuck up their joints? I'm in shape, have never had an obesity problem, and I do plyos once a week.
>> Anonymous
>>389128

They do it properly though. I thought you were doing it for some fitness aspect. Seriously though, the people that do it right do it for a reason. that's one of those athletic techniques that average joes shouldn't emulate simply for fun.
>> Anonymous
>>389132
Wait.. I'm not doing it properly. AREYOUBEHINDME
>> Anonymous
>>389141
I wouldn't be suprised if you aren't doing it properly. People who do plyometrics but don't do sports are the type of people who watch a Van Damme movie and start kicking/punching bricks walls. Even though they don't fight let alone train...all they get are some fucked up knuckles and the ability to say "LOLS OMG I DO SUMTHIN UNIQUE N' DIFFRENT!1"
>> Anonymous
i just finished ab ripper x.. so in your FACE!!!
>> Anonymous
>>389192
i'm sure you believed the BS and believe its actually plyo lol
>> Anonymous

OP here, ab ripper x is amazing, doing it tomorrow since I switched up my schedule a lil bit.

>>389044
actually i troll /fit/ on my iphone while bicycling faggot
>> Anonymous
>>389044
Only pussies have to pause, do it in one try and report back on your sweaty ass keyboard.

>>389300
nothing says "i have no clue how to workout" like advocating doing plyometrics as a fitness exercise. God people..this is why 90% of the people who work out should stick to good ol fashion calisthenics/reasonable weight training and the elliptical. T
>> Anonymous
>>389333
Nothing says "I'm a faggot" like this post.
>> Anonymous
some retards on here think pylometrics = bodyweight exercises.
>> Anonymous
>>389575
God I hope so. Nothing pisses me off mroe than trendy articles like "PLYO'S 4 WEIGHT LOSS!!" and then it has pics of workouts to get your heart rate up that include jumping off of boxes as fast as you can...man, talk about tearing up them knees.
>>389355
Yeah, but you're the one who is doing plyometrics all wrong and will have joint problems. And then you'll be on here going "hey fit, my knees are griding like crushed glass, should i put ice on it lol!?"
>> Anonymous
What's plyometrics? Jumping up rapidly? My muay thai teacher makes us do that as punishment if we don't work the bag hard enough.
>> Anonymous
>>390273
that's a mild form of plyometrics that aren' that bad. Plyometrics are meant to increase explosivity and works fast twitch muscle fibers. So it would be putting rings on the floor about 30 meters and and running over them. Jumping up/over/off of boxes from all angles and heights. Lateral jumps. Things like that. They're very intense and should be used with proper supervision because they can really fuck you over hardcore. They shouldn't really be done by your average joe, even a very fit average joe. You run too high of a risk of injury and don't really stand to gain anything. It's not like you're going to gain a competative edge or suddenly be able to gain 12 inches on your vertical jump.
>> Anonymous
>>390273
well what i meant to say, you won't gain anything if you're not competing in any sport. It's not the type of exercise you do just for the sake of doing them. Now, if you're a competative athlete than thats a different story. But if you're just some dude who goes to the gym and tries to stay in shape then stay away from plyometrics. Look at my other analogy...a muy thai fighter can benefit alot of kicking baseball bats. I have nothing to gain from doing so except saying "Hey! i kick baseball bats and have fucked up shins!"
>> Anonymous
>>389044
Just thought I'd pause deadlifting to say LOL I'M DOING REAL EXERCISE AND YOU'RE HOPPING AROUND ON BOXES OR NOT MOVING ANY WEIGHT AT ALL
>> Anonymous
>>391005
if you think plyometrics are better or worse than deadlifting then you're probably some meathead lifting in his basement listening to metal and acting tough but only lifting 250 or less.
