sup /fit/I want to switch from Stronglifts5x5 (currently on week 6) to Starting Strength's 3x5. But I have to learn to power clean. Is it difficult? Any tips?I was at the gym yesterday and these 3 girls were standing there for 20 minutes trying to do power cleans (one of the girls was badly "teaching" the others) and eventually a couple of guys came and tried teaching them too.I have Starting Strength. It seems for the powerclean, I get into a sort of deadlift position, back more upright though. Arms are straight like the deadlift. But when I lift, I pull up, jump and shrug all at the same time? Then when I end I should end up in the "rack" position? Is there anything else I should know?Comment too long. powah cleanhttp://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=6TlbDQUWs0sElbows should be pretty far forward in the rack position if you want to front squat.
It's really really hard to teach yourself how to powerclean. You'd probably get more benefit from learning how to front squat, regular squat, deadlift, and bench from the time it takes you to learn the form for powercleans.
