boxers and fights know how to link kinetic energy from their feet, up their leg, across the back, through the arm, to the fist.

so boxer.

Generally the boxer. Force from a punch is Mass x Acceleration.

A lightweight has a lighter fist with less muscle and mass behind it (though the gloves still weigh 16oz), but it generally is travelling pretty fucking fast.

The boxer will throw the more efficient and effective punch, which will translate to the hardest punch.

That said, a heavy weight will punch harder than a lightweight most times, because more mass. Teach a body builder to throw a punch, and he'll hit very hard.

I mean I guess the strongmen have all that weight bearing down on you. My dad is like 260, all he's ever is work on cars, wrestle when he was younger, and do maintenance. He knocked this guys eye out of his face, it was hanging there and then my dad took him to the hospital and they ended up pals.

But yeah, boxers train day in and out specifically to punch people, I'm sure they have no problem breaking bones with their bear hands, even someone as light as 120.

Doh, bare hands.

In a fight muscle might slow down the punch, but i dont think its true, look at tyson or lewis

Good thread is good

If a body builder or a strongman took a running start and threw their entire weight into a punch, they'd probably hit the target harder.

Unfortunately, that shit doesn't work in a fight. The boxer would hit the hardest from the place where you'd actually want to punch someone.

I train MA, and I usually get like 750-800 score on the punch machine at the local Winghouse. The muscle dudes take a running start, throw their weight into it, and get like 900-1000.

body builders aren't necessarily very strong, of course strength comes with body building, but it is not the focus. Teach a strongman to punch correctly and I'd bet he'd have the strongest punch.

Boxers, of course, would most likely have the strongest pound for pound punch.

The bodybuilder.
He will generate insane amounts of torque from his huge glutes and massive bodyweight.

Depends on the examples of each proffesion.

Some lightweight boxers can hit much, much harder than others, same with bodybuilders.

If we went with the 'peak' of each proffesion, then the lightweight boxer would be the hardest hitting.

Ronnie coleman, for example, would hit like shit.

However, if you took the hardest hitter from each proffesion, i imagine you'd end up a with a bodybuilder.

There will be quite a few bodybuilders who can punch aswell. They probably wont be that big.

Does this answer the question?

Ronie Coleman wold fuck your shit up. LIGHT WEIGHT.

it's all about techniques, not to mention that boxers have stronger fists, are faster and have trained their techniques well. Yes their fists don't automatically turn into bricks. You have to add extra bone structer to your knuckles, which is possible by punching a bag for example, pushups on knuckles and stuff.

If a bodybuilder gets into a fight with a pro lightweight boxer, the boxer will punch harder, period.

Big muscles doesn't necessarily means that you are stronger.

A 75 kg boxer will fuck up any 130 kg strongman or bodybuilder.
