Congrats, I do 5 miles at 7 min/mile and I have some very beautiful love handles. I'd suggest lowering your pace to 7.5 or 8 min/mile (I assume you're treadmilling if you know your exact speed, although I guess you could've timed yourself) and push yourself up to four miles. Get up to a good distance at a decent pace, then push up the speed.
