just finished 10 minutes of HIIT, /fit/; it annihilated me in a pleasant way (was at 9 minutes yesterday)

two Wednesdays ago when I started HIIT, I couldn't even do four minutes without a break in between

summary: HIIT is serious amounts of win

I'm doing 9 minutes today. I agree with OP.

whatever happened to working out for fun? Sure 10 minutes of killing yourself can be fun, but what about a moderate workout for 45 minutes? go somewhere, see some sights, work up a good sweat.

i hope you're not doing it just for results, life is too short

10 Mins? At what intervals?
>> Shiggy
i do around 25 minutes everyday its the hardest thing ive ever done, dont get me wrong

I do 30 minutes; used to do it for 40 minutes 5 days a week and was wondering why I wasn't seeing any gains working out.

Now, I only do HIIT twice every eight days for 30 mins, (on my off days from lifting) as I'm gaining.

What is the preferred way to do HIIT on a sprint/jog method?
30 seconds sprint, 30 seconds jog and repeat until death?
2 mins jog, 45 sec sprint etc etc?

Oh it is, 30 secs light jog, 30 secs sprinting.
>> Anonymous
>>81371
then you're doing it wrong

it's ALL OUT sprinting

You do realize, there are variations on HIIT, there is not simply one version; light jogging to sprinting is still HIIT, though it may not provide the same amount of caloric loss as more intense sprinting.

OP here

two-minute warmup jog, then 10 minutes of 30/30 sprint/jog intervals

i just started doing HIIT too, 2 or 3 weeks ago.

this doesn't deserve it's own thread, so i'm hijacking this one: occasionally after doing HIIT (i do it on my bike) i get really REALLY lightheaded and nauseas, and it feels like i can't regulate my body temperature. it seems random; it's not like that only happens after a particularly intense workout. why does this happen, and how the hell do i make it stop? if this happened after every workout, i would quit after 3 days. it's really unpleasant.

Sounds to me like HIIT is Fartlek without the duration.

Fartlek is better, that is, if you're a runner and not just seeking weightloss. And it has a better name.

Run slower. You can push yourself to the point of vomiting. I know from experience.

Bullshit. Vomiting makes you stronger! Run harder faster stronger better.

Let me guess, you listen to some sort of abhorrent death metal, or rap? One of the two.
