Squat motherfucker!!1 lol!

So i tried to remember to have shoulder-width stance and a deep waist..
But it just feels wrong, like my stance is assymetric and i only worked my butt.
Can i have a link for a really detailed squat guide?
And, yo, how far is it safe to go in a squat? I saw some people that gets their butts to their heels.
Can i trust a free gym trainer to teach me technique?

Always go ATG (ass-to-grass). If you don't go past parallel you place more torque on your knees and risk a blowout.

Just go low weight until you feel like you have a solid technique.

starting strength is good for that. find that book, now.

working your butt is actually important, the glutes should fire in a squat. contrary to popular belief, it is not an exercise for the quads, it is an exercise for the legs. done properly it should hit every muscle in your lower body. the calves are recruited for stabilisation at depth. the posterior chain should handle most of the work coming out of the hole. this is why squats are so very important. as it says in starting strength, the squat is actually the correct biomechanical something something for something something. very fucking important.

The asymetrical stance shouldn't be an issue unless you are actually standing crooked. Check in a mirror if you can. And as stated, your Glutes will get a hell of workout whether you're doing it right or wrong.

As for depth, just do what's comfortable. If your body doesn't like what you're doing, you'll know before it actually craps out on you, unless you're loading up max weights or something.
