Help me stay fit /fit/ Anonymous
Ok so I am skinny (everyone says im "anorexic" which pisses me off to no end) and I would like some muscle. I am only 14 (15 in June) and I weigh about 117 pounds (Slightly under average for my age.)

I would like to gain some muscle so I can lift more things up and I also want to run longer so I can do stuff such as free running or parkour.

My parents don't want to get me a YMCA membership and I can't pay for it because I need the money to pay monthly fees for my phone. What are some good ways to build leg muscle other than running on a treadmill (I have one in my basement). I also wanted muscle along my arms.

tl;dr what are good ways to build leg and arm muscle for a skinny almost 15 year old?

Pic not related.

Im in a similar situation as a 17 year old who doesnt have access/is too embarrassed to go to a gym. I've been doing a routine of pushups and situps in my basement for about 5 months now and while my results arent outstanding, I have developed some upper body muscle and lost some weight along my midsection. Additionally, more muscle definition.

As for legs, I bike as soon as the snow melts (for me by May at the latest) and bike EVERYWHERE I go. I do this until its too fucking cold to bike. Take weekly trips around the city, doing errands or just to get outside and bike. This builds leg muscle and helps with cardio (sort of). I did use to have kickin' leg muscles but since I havent biked all winter I've sort of lost that muscle. But since you may not be able to do any of that shit now, use your fucking treadmill.

Lastly, if you're 15 you're probably at this point in High school, which SHOULD have some sort of weight gym. Go there during lunch or go to school an hour early and work out regularly. Don't be embarassed because you cant lift what everybody else can, find your own pace. If they make fun of you for being skinny/weak, you're obviously there to bulk up, so why the fuck shouldn't you be there?

tl;dr, if you're financially challenged do pushups at home and get a excercise bike or a real bike and cycle regularly. And use your fucking school's gym. I suggest investing in some weights because those are very cheap and versatile as they can be used for a variety of exercises.

And remember, one of the most important parts about getting and keeping fit is starting and maintaining a routine. It is difficult at the beginning to start working out regularly because you're not used to it, but after a week or so of doing it DAILY, it becomes a part of your routine and you do it with less reluctance and excuses, thus you actually get something done.
So get the fuck off the internet and your phone and go work out moar.

you dont need to lift weights, just do push ups, sit ups, squats, and leg raises to tone your body then once your toned you can build on what you have by lifting

Tons of bodyweight training, most of which requires nothing but ground, some of which requires a pull-up bar.

Easy to practice, and you WILL get buffer. But be patient, it took me 5 months to get the straddle front lever.

I'd recommend chin-ups, handstand pushups, front and back levers, and if you can get one, ab wheel.

Squats and calf-raises to get the legs.

I think that's everything. Good luck!

Calcium, helps you build muscle easier.

that and walking/running/jogging.

dont try to over do the workout, get progressively more intense each couple of days.

If you hide the typical underage stupidity I don't care. I'll help regardless of those few letters typed with the shift key. I help all humans who can converse logically.

The Body Mass Index which calculates the average 15 year old male as "underweight" in this case best considered a guide, not a rulebook. You can still be considered underweight in this measurement and be perfectly healthy. It best means it's statistically "more likely" to have problems. At 5'7" (googled standard height for 15 ? 1st hit), the BMI is just ever so slightly below the threshold. I wouldn't worry. If you're below by a larger margin, then I'd worry.

There should be no harm getting more weight, and may still make u be and feel healthier than before. You'll feel the difference.
