How physical was your work week, /fit/? Liam
I know, I know, most of you are underage and probably go to school, but I know at least some of us have jobs. In my case, I'm often too damn tired to go to the gym, but honestly, isn't the work we, as working men do, enough?

This week I had to tear out a basement, meaning I had to tear out the old concrete floor, using sledge and jackhammer, dig trenches for the pour, and on top of that, carry all the dirt and rock up the stairs in buckets 2 at a time. Today I did all of this, finished, and proceeded to go do overtime by ripping shingles off of a roof until 7 PM. Why? Because I have to.

Now , working /fit/ folk...How physical is YOUR workweek?

I graduated years ago and co-own a business. Dipshit. Maybe I LIKE actually WORKING for a living, huh?

What do you do, girly boy? Suck dicks and line dance behind a counter serving cheeseburgers? Eating double quarter pounders on break and then pretending you're a tough guy?

High school dropout my ass, I graduated with honors - I'm working hard so I can open a restaurant one day.

Eh hem. Continue with your week gentlemen.

bawwwww

i work safely behind a computer in an air conditioned office for good money. Unless you make more than 100K doing construction work, you're just another fucking coolie.

"co-own a business" means shit. Anyone can open a business. Question is are you pulling in 100K+ in profit?

if you make 100K+ in construction, can i get a job? I just quit mine.

Even if you were a high school dropout I'm not sure why that matters.

Skilled labor makes good money, education or not. And people who do that kind of work are generally a whole lot happier with their lives. Probably both from the endorphins from exercising everyday, and better, the satisfaction of seeing the material value of your labor right in front of you. If you shuffle papers for a living there isn't much satisfaction in the work. If you build houses for a living it's satisfying too see it completed, knowing that you built a home for someone.

This is my motivation for getting in shape actually. My current job is easy and dull as fuck (retail). But my goal is to join the Coast Guard. I can't tolerate the idea of working a job that is useless for my whole life. Saving lives is useful.

This makes me think of the chapter about reorganizing labor in the book World War Z... fucking executives, consultants, analysts, etc... automatons that are absolutely useless outside the massive machine they run.

I sit at a desk for 50 hours+ a week, so I have to exercise or else I will die.

I work in an office on a construction yard. Tens of thousands of pounds pass through my hands each week.

The lads outside doing the labour make twice as much as I do, and they earn every penny. Shit's tough.

I do deconstruction of old office buildings, old buildings in general, and for remodeling. It's a fun job, I get to wreck shit all day, but it is really physically demanding sometimes.

Also, it can be boring as piss if there's an inspection we have to do beforehand, or if we have to find the exact specs of the area of work so the building doesn't collapse. Some days I just sit around waiting for a "call" also. I don't own the business, but we're on a first come, first serve basis, and we prioritize higher paying (which can be the most boring) jobs.

I make around ~50-70k a year, depending on overtime, bonuses, unions, strikes, cost of living, etc. I'm in no danger of my job being taken though, which is weird, I've always wanted to destroy old things for fun.

C'mon Anon. You are Anon. First of all, construction is at it's all time low in the United States. Second, demo work is 99% Mexican day labor making $9.50 an hour. The other 1% is some rich fat white/ Mexican guy in a Suburban, who does not leave aforementioned Suburban, as sure as shit he doesn't lift a goddamn finger. So you are either: (choose one)

a) A Mexican making $9.50
b) A fat Mexican / white guy in a Suburban who doesn't lift a finger
c) A faggot sitting behind his computer, just making this shit up.
