Hello /fit/, I have just dropped about 40Lbs but have started to plateau, I need to loose a further 20Lbs. I dropped the weight by mainly weights training and about 5 mins of cardio 4 days a week (basically to warm up before weights).

I now plan to do HIIT training 20mins each morning to drop the rest of the weight.
I did it this morning and almost died after 10 minutes, I just quit smoking... how long before I actually get fit enough before I can run more than 10 minutes. Also any tips on improving my fitness level would be greatly appreciated.

1. Its going to take years to change the damage you done to your lungs, though i noticed after around 2 months after quitting i felt alot better breathing-wise.

2. Regular cardio and just keep doing HIIT will improve your health over time.

It depends on how long you smoked. The important thing to remember is to NOT START SMOKING AGAIN.
