Hello /fit/ so a lot of the people (about 90%) of the people that go to the gym I go to are all using NO shotgun and someone today was telling me not only does it help gives you a really good boost but it will also burn off fat like crazy if you using it properly(before work outs only)

Is this true?

I'M INTERESTED IN THIS INFORMATION AS WELL

hello /fit user

i can bet you 90% of the people at the gym you go to don't know what the fuck they're doing and they're probably under the impression that high reps = toning and that leg presses are just as good as squats for leg development

i've not taken no shotgun, though i've taken similar products such as creatine and nitric oxide (which are the basic components of no shotgun) and even no xplode. yes, it does work, but this is most likely due to the overwhelming levels of caffeine. you'll probably get the same results with a cup of coffee with 36g of sugar (which i don't recommend).

why products like this suck:

they usually tell you to take it prior to a workout on an empty stomach or 2 hours after your last meal. by doing so, you would have to eliminate your pre-workout meal and rather than provide your muscles with the necessary proteinz and crabz for muscle repair + growth you instead flood it with some bullshit that makes your veins look bigger.

the end

Bodybuildng/sprinting/cycling/circuit training-fag here.

I've tried nearly every NO product on the market.

1- Nano Vapor ---> $60 tub of shit.

2- N.O. Xplode ---> more like xplode in the bathroom.

3- Juggernaut ---> see 1.

4- Plasmajet (pills) ---> Good shit. Taken an hour before workouts on an empty stomach, effect lasts for a day.

5- MRI Black powder ---> not too bad...but I've had better results just downing some caffiene pills with green tea.

NO Shotgun is THE BEST.

Focus, energy, motivation, the works.

What's so great about it is that it has Glutamine, Creatine, BCAAs, and Beta-alanin all in ethyl-ester form (faster absorbtion), all in addition to the caffeine content. The above ingredients help prevent muscle breakdown, so for me it's the ideal supplement to take before an HIIT session while cutting.

It also has about 16 grams of whey protein isolate per scoop, another primary reason why I take it before my interval training.

HOWEVER, do NOT be surprised if you didn't notice all these good effects from your first try. Different people have different bodies that react differently to different products.

Wherever you're picking it up from, it's very likely that they will have a 30-day money back guarantee if you're not satisfied, like GNC.

You could pick it up from GNC if you're impatient and have cash to spare, but bodybuilding.com have a much better deal (in fact I think thay have a buy one get one free thing going on).

Ask more questions and I'll do my best to answer them.

You may have answered my question but I'm not sure if I understood how you said it, it it also good for burning fat, I know they have the fat burn NO's but I'm looking for something that will give me a boost and help me loose fat while gaining muscle

The guy who recommended it to me was a PE, not saying he knows everything so don't say I said that but I hope if hes going around able to be a PE he kinda has an idea about what hes doing.
>> Anonymous
what the fuck is a pe and what gives him the right to go around promoting the use of non fda approved supps?

put proper nutrition above gimicky crap that promises gains and performance in the gym. proper diet will accomplish the goal more effictively

It does have the same proprietary blend in Redline, VPX's thermogenic energy drink, so VPX would like you to think that it will help you lose fat. However, it's a pre-workout drink. No more, no less.

There's the argument that NO products in general have a thermogenic effect simply because they all act as blood vasolidators. Their primary use is to help you through your workout routine by giving you the stamina and focus to do the job.

My advice: do NOT rely on NO Shotgun for fat loss purposes. Just use it for focus and energy.

Fat loss is ENTIRELY determined by the intensity and duration of your workout routine, in addition to clean nutrition. My suggestion is to steer clear of thermogenics until you get to about 9-10% bodyfat on your own, then use the thermogenics to go any lower.

I'm around 9% now, and I'm on VPX's new Meltdown, hoping to reach 7% by September, 6% if I'm lucky.

Keep em' comin'.

Thank you, this answered my question, now one last question for about 2 months now I've been going to the gym 4 times a week (mon-thurs) and getting on the eliptical and going for 50 minutes which equals out at 4 miles and 800-900 calories, and now I've started running 30 minutes and working out with weights for 45 because I want to get bigger in muscle terms but loose a lot of my fat(280lbs atm which is mostly fat)
Do you think that change is a wise choice and about how long will it be (in a rouge estimate) before I can tell results, so far I can't tell a difference and I realize it varies from person to person.

where did this "pt" earn his degree? what does he know about you or your body? a pt doesn't have to actually know what the fuck he's doing, he just has to convince you that he knows what the fuck he's doing so he can charge you 80 dollars for bullshit you can do yourself. i used to be a pt, and i'm 19! i got my basic certification through an online course provided by a corporate gym for fuck's sake, and i didn't learn jack shit shit either. and unlike most of the guys i worked with, i was in great shape, loved working out, and actually knew what the fuck i was talking about and could support it thoroughly. i can't say the same for most pts i know.

don't take me the wrong way. i've got nothing against pts and nothing against using supplements. i don't know you so i'm on the assumption that you might be relying on supps to get you where you want to be, which is a BIG mistake. if you're already fully aware on how to have a proper diet, how these supplements work, and how some supplements interfere with each other and end up canceling one another (creatine + glutamine read up on it) then by all means go ahead and try it. otherwise, don't waste your money on products like these without a stable foundation of knowledge on diet and training

Thats kind of why I came here, I'm not a complete idiot I would like to think, my plan was to come here and try to get some opinions, and if I had mostly positive opinions I was going to make an appointment with my doctor to see what he though of me taking it. And no I really know nothing of supplements and things like that, thats why I was asking for what /fit thought of the product I was just trying to see what you guys thought, if it was no good then I wasn't going to waste an appointment asking the doctor if he thought it would be ok to take, thats all.

Well,

Here's the deal. It seems that everybody here on /fit want the same thing: more muscle, less fat, AT THE SAME TIME.

The thing is, it's really NOT efficient to try and do both at the same time. Very, very few people on the planet have the genetics to achieve this. Otherwise the rest of us have to focus on one goal at a time...hence the terms bulking (gaining mass with minimal fat gain) and cutting (losing fat while preserving muscle tissue).

People who are impatient resort to pheromones and illegal drugs. These things make it possible to gain mass and lose fat at the same time, but at the expense of your general health and well being. Not only that, but anyone who has tried these drugs will tell you that it is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to maintain these gains in muscle after finishing a cycle, primarily because most of the gains is just bloated tissue.

This is why you have to be PATIENT and work on ONE goal at a time.

It sounds like you're relatively new to working out, so if you're around 20-30% bodyfat, then I suggest losing most of the fat by combining cardio and circuit traning (NO heavy weights), until you get to around 10-11%, then start a clean bulk from there.

So, again: your goal now is to LOSE FAT and TONE UP. Because you're just starting out, you will gain a little mass (provided you got your nutrition in line), just not as much as when you would be bulking.

Here's a really good program to help you start out:

http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/krisgethin44.htm

The above program has great advice regarding nutrition and workouts. What I would do if I were you is to take all the workouts that involve lifting and use really light weights and high reps (around 20-30) with minimal rest between sets. This will simulate a circuit training style routine.

Hope that helped :) .

Good luck!

perhaps i've come off as hostile. this is just the way i write. there is nothing wrong with you or taking supplements. but don't fall under the impression that supplements can replace proper diet and training. tis all.

good luck with your journey to have a better body

>supplements interfere with each other and end up canceling one another (creatine + glutamine read up on it)
Whoooaaaa whoa, wait a minute, I've personally used both together and had jawesome results; not to mention I have looked and never seen anything on the topic, so a link would be appreciated.

Creatine and caffeine on the other hand, I've read that excessive caffeine can interfere with some of the benefits of creatine.

One last thing,

A visit to the doctor is ALWAYS a good idea, no matter what. Chances are your primary physician will know you from the inside out FAR better than any of us here will. His/her opinion will override ANYTHING we say here on /fit, including everything I just said.

You sound like a motivated, level-headed guy, so good luck and I hope you reach your desired goals in the very near future.

recomended and its interesting so far, I have a doctors appointment every 3-6 with an endocrinologist but so far they all say the same thing, eat right exercise and I am doing that it just gets annoying when you go at it for 2 months with all you have and after that you can't tell the difference even if everyone told you you wont see a difference right away.

>His/her opinion will override ANYTHING we say here on /fit
While I agree that in terms of general health, yes, most definitely.

But when it comes to athletics, a general practitioner may be out of the loop; so while their input may be valuable, be sure to present them with any recent, relevant info you can dig up on the topic so they can form their opinion based on recent facts, not what they learned in medical school 20 years ago.
tl; dr: See someone who specializes in what you're looking for, and if you HAVE to go to a GP, make sure they're up to date (it would make the most sense to me to get a list of ingredients in their most commonly accepted name) - even if you're the one that has to bring them up to speed.

wait so what will doing high reps achieve?

I've used NO Xplode and I've used (and currently use) White Flood. The former worked great at first, but I stop feeling it after like.. less than 2 weeks.
WF works nicely and hasn't stopped working after taking awhile, but the effects seem to only last like 30 minutes. Which is nice if I'm going nonstop, but when theres friends with me in the gym and i'm spending time hanging out with them, it dies off too fast.

I think I'd like a better NO product, or maybe i'll just stop with em
