How much do I REALLY need to worry about losing muscle when I am in a fat-cutting phase?

While I am on my fat cutting phase, should I not lift as hard?

Don't worry, be happy.

Why would you not lift as hard? The end result is to get cut and lifting = burn calories/build muscle.

Also, always worry about losing muscle, that shit is hard to build. As long as you keep your diet high in protein and you don't kill your body too hard you'll be fine.

I appreciate that, though it is not particularly helpful.

I am just concerned that, since my diet is lower in calories, and I am obviously not going to be able to get 1 gram of protein for pound of body weight, they won't be able to rebuild entirely if I work them too hard.

i presume you aren't taking protein supplements then? you can get ones with very low fat/carb. even then most lean meats don't have much fat/carb in them (like good quality chicken for instance)

You're probably losing more muscle worrying about it than if you just did it even though you weren't taking as much protein.

I'm on a 2400 calorie diet and I still easily get my daily 160 grams of protein I need. Eat more lean protein.
