Hi Hi /fit/.

I currently do no cardio in my routine, purely because im 5`11 and 144lbs. However i bought a skipping rope the other day, and am wondering, will it be good for me to skip like, half an hour a day to lose what body fat i have lefr, or will it end up me losing whatever i need to gain muscle?

thanks

Yup, skipping rope is some of the best cardio there is

Dunno. I'm in the same boat, same size. I'm actually at like 141, I started at 144 two weeks ago and dropped 4-5 pounds of what I can only assume is water weight from not drinking water regularly. Crazy, but anyway, I'm going to add cardio like twice a week instead of everyday. I suppose I'm going to jog or bike. You wont lose what you gained in muscle IF you are eating enough calories during the day though.

Eat and hour before and after and you should have no problem, if you want to really make sure.

Thanks. Would it also tone up/strength my shoulders/forarms a bit too?

skipping is great. but make sure you do high intensity. set a timer for like 3 minutes. and then go for it for the whole of 3 minutes.

Forearms maybe, dunno I haven't skipped in a long time to really say about anything else

Well you can look at it like this. Skipping rope for 5 minutes is the equivalent of running/jogging for 20 minutes. So just go off of that ratio.

yes. try skipping for 30mins straight.

lol.

If skipping is any different than running you are doing something horribly wrong.

You really ought to do some cardio, even if its just one or two days a week. Eat more food to compensate.
