How long does it take before your muscles begin to degenerate? Likewise, do you constantly have to grow your muscles in order for them not to degenerate?

For example, if your normal routine for your pecs includes a 200 lb. benchpress, 4x8 (80% 1RM), then would lifting 150 lbs., 3x8 (60% 1RM) be enough to keep your current physique?

tl;dr what % of effort would it take to keep your current physique?

a minimum of 30 min of activity a day is all that is required to maintain muscle size and strength for a period of up to 10 or 12 days, beyond that point the ammount of strength lost is relativly minor.

not quite anon, in actuality it is possible to maintain muscle size and strength well past the 12 day mark (almost a month in my case) if you are engaged in things like rockclimbing or parkour 3 times a week.
