Skin Condition? Anonymous
This may be a bad example but i think i might have a skin condition. I'm either allergic to ocean salt water ( i fish on occasion and my hands start to peel a few days-a week later. ) or my hands/feet don't handle pruning well. Here's a pick of one of my feet, my hands seem fine right now but i haven't been fishing in over a month.

so, any idea why this might be? Maybe i haven't been eating right or something?

You know that it is a good idea to wash after being in sea water, right? That salt sitting on your skin can do a number on you.

Just use some moisturizer and you'll be fine.

well of course i do that after getting home, even on the way back actually since i have to wash all the sand off my stuff ( beach fishing ) but the fact that the skin on my hands seems to have a delayed effect concerns me. A few days later the skin starts getting white in spots like on my feet and just dies off in patches.

Is it possible to be allergic to sea salt?

salt is drawing the moisture out of your skin. As the bottom of your foot has minimal amounts of sweat and sweat is already heavy in salt, it's hard to moisturise it again.

so what do you recommend? I could try putting moisturizer on my hands after fishing.
