i have really bad posture and slouch, any tips on fixing it? it hurts to stand up straight and its confusing walking and weaving through crowds, also stairs.

sounds crazy, but deadlifts and squats do wonders for posture, and barbell rows will too.

exercise should gradually help improve posture. But a good practice is to be aware at all times to sit/stand straight. It'll eventually become habit.

Work on strenghtening your core. It'll be easier to stand straight then.

this may sound stupid but what do you mean strengthen core?

strengthens abdominals. Your torso more or less.

Core is not only abdominals but also the lower back.

oh ok, yeah my abs are pretty good, i never really work my lower back, i guess i'll do some deadlifts tomorrow, i don't really do them cause it looks like i can screw up my back pretty badly if i don't do them correctly.

also what do you guys tihnk about stretching? would that help posture? i can't touch my toes :(.

if you are not stretching then you shouldnt be lifting anyways

recondition yourself to a new habit. you have to do is constantly in the beginning. Remind yourself. Remind yourself. Remind yourself. Repetition helps you remember to remind yourself. Tell yourself to straighten yourself out.

Or some shit like that

YOU NEED STRONG CORE MUSCLES FOR GOOD POSTURE.
