Hi /fit/, runfag here. I want to run a marathon some day.
Right now I can run easily at 11kmph for an hour or 9.5/10kmph for a little more. There are two races in two weeks: a 7km and a half-marathon. 7km is going to be pretty easy, no challenge (I just want to run and finish a marathon, not walk it and it's the same for any other races). But I have never run the half-marathon distance before and I am not sure I can complete it.
I am 176cm and 66~67kgs (coming from 86kg in February). I may have over trained and have nutritional deficiencies.
Is it possible to prepare for the half-marathon in two weeks ? This race is pretty much flat all along.

Max I ever ran is 14/15 km in an hour and a half.
Should I be a man and swallow my pride and run 7km or should I be a man and swallow my pain and run 21km ?

I'm assuming that, since you know very exactly the speed you're going, you're running on a treadmill.

GET THE FUCK OFF THAT SHIT AND GO OUTSIDE

Running on a treadmill is absolutely nothing like actually moving forwards over ground. You'll find that it's ridiculously harder.

By that I meant that treadmills are easy, actually running outside is hard.

Fucking ambiguous English language.

you're a complete tool if you think you can run that distance on concrete, having never previously run it before.

protip: always train with twice the distance you plan to race, begin at 1/10th, and work your way up.

No, I am running outside. Mostly trail with hills and woods.
I know distance/speed because I have maps and a cardio to measure all this.
It's much easier for me to run on concrete regarding times, speed and ease of pace (I live in a city close to a very huge forest, that's why I mostly run in the woods) but it hurts more. Both those races are ran on concrete.

Do you think that with good preparation running/jogging the semi is possible ? I am talking 8/9kmph here.

On a side note: I tried running on a treadmill once and I was very clumsy and felt like weighing 300 tons. It was a really weird way to move legs.

That's what I am afraid. I read that one has to expect to perform worse than usual when running in an actual race. Although no (semi)-marathon training I saw include training that are twice as long as the race you want to run. But you should be able to run/jog much more than the race you want to run.
