Elliptical workout Anonymous
Hi guise. At my college theres a really nice fitness building, pools, weights, indoor suspended track, etc.

I was wondering about doing workouts on the elliptical. Yesterday I did about 35 minutes on it. I was wondering...should I do it every other day, or would it be perfectly ok to go there every day and do anywhere between 30-60 minutes?

My goal is to burn some noticeable weight. I'm 6'1, 196 pounds and I have some extra visible weight around my waist. Not a lot, I still look perfectly fit when I have a shirt on, but when I sit i have that little stomach buldge.

Anywho...am I good to go every day on the ellip?

Dont you need to rest in between or something?

resting is important for muscle growth, but not all that important for weight loss. It shouldn't be a problem. But obviously if you start to feel alot of pain somewhere, ask someone who isn't /fit/

i use the elliptical everyday for 30 minutes as well as the treadmill for an hour a day for a 90 minute total workout, specifically to lose weight.

If you ever feel pain or sore, just stop, every few weeks i have to stop at an hour total workout 30 on ellip and 30 on treadmill because my left leg gets too tight sometimes, i was 6 ft 252 pounds on july 1st 08 and now im 208 pounds on October 17th. 2000 calories a day with a cheat day of once per week where i drink straight up makers mark whiskey, but i factor those calories into the day and never really exceed 3000 calories on a cheat day, cept once a month or every other month.

not op but do you feel like you get more of a workout on the treadmill compared to the elliptical?

Elliptical is low impact so feel free to do it a couple days in a row, but don't over do it. I'd say 2 days on, 1 day off.

OP here...Alright cool...thats what I'm working myself into.

I did my second day in a row yesterday, and could feel a little bit of joint pain in my left knee..but it was more uncomfortable than anything...probably from sitting at the computer with my leg tucked under me.
