anyone know some good websites that suggest 10k marathon and 5k marathon training routines?

I run an hour ever day and I can do about 8-9k in that hour. I was also wondering what is a 10k marathon pace? Will I show up and get destroyed by some guy who runs it in like 45 mins or something?

I read somewhere that some people do it in 1h20 mins... not sure

www.coolrunning.com has a lot of training routines for different races.

As far as pace goes, it's really dictated by you. Most public events; meaning the races you see advertised in newspapers and on the bulletin board at the gym are pretty relaxed. There are really hard-core runners that finish way before you, but there will also be people walking or very lightly jogging.

Pretty much as long as you finish on the same day you started, you're not going to look stupid.

If you can't do 10k in 30 mins you fucking shouldn't even show up you faggot.

If you get destroyed by someone who runs a 10k in 45 mins then I suggest you quit being such a faggot and run faster. A mediocre 10k shouldn't take more than 37 mins if you're in fact running and not jogging or waving to the camera like a tool.

As for the 1h20mins comment I think you're confusing a half-marathon with a 10k. Running a decent half-marathon should take around 1h20m or less.

Go to runnersworld.com it should help you get started.

I don't know man...I am in pretty good shape but I can only run a 6:20 mile...I wouldn't be able to run that same pace over 6 miles. 37 minutes is if you're really serious about running...You could still run a 10k and finish in 45 minutes or even 50 minutes and still be pretty happy.

6:00 to 6:30 is pretty much pedestrian pace. At that pace you're running, but not really competing, and it's not "really serious" pace at all. I'd say that anything under 5:45 for a 10k is right around "really serious" pace. Fucking jogging isn't running.

youre a faggot that doesnt know what he's talking about.

6:00m/mile pace is only "pedestrian" when you're talking about national or olympic level athletes competing in a marathon or anything shorter.

a 6:00/mile pace for long distance amateurs is motherfucking COOKING, and a sought after goal for most marathoners and triathletes.
