Hay, /fit/.
What are the chances of me losing a large amount of weight playing DDR?

I'm a fatty female nigra
5'6
285-295lbs

I'm tired of being like this, what else can I do?
>> Anonymous
I guess its a good start if you are doing nothing. After a week of playing ddr every day you should try going for a walk, then eventually running, its a much better fat burner.
>> Sabby !!J9oxJsHtaZJ
Start off with DDR, because it's fun and it'll ease you into THE WORLD OF CARDIO- Where you'll get sick without a workout!
Once you plateau or need more of a challenge, hit the road and start jogging or swimming.

Dawww, don't sage the poor girl! She didn't ask "How do I lost belly fat?"
>> Hammerknife !7ITukp3Pj2
Just as long as you don't eat more food because you're playing DDR, you're fine.

Once DDR gets comedically easy, go sprinting.

OP here.

I'm also a finicky eater, anything I can keep eating the same of everyday with no adverse effects?

Or should I go to /ck/ for that?

Steak and water.

Steak, probably not.

I lost my first 60 Pounds, once it gets easy(which it shouldn't for a while, Healing-D Vision Oni still makes me feel like I ran a marathon), switch to IN The Groove, It's a lot harder but almost exactly the same game. Make sure you play for at least 30 minutes a day and supplement it with a good diet. A weight training program couldn't hurt either.

Check out www.getupmove.com for a ton of tips and motivation.

I function pretty well.

I'm in my senior year of highschool, so I walk to school everyday.

Since we can't be trusted to come back, we have lunch in school and the cafeteria is on the 4th floor. I walk up there too.

...No, I don't eat anything up there.

its pretty good. again, dont overeat to compensate for energy lost.

drink only water when playing. you dont need any sports drink.

>>25737

A year ago I based my exercise around DDR and I lost 20 pounds.
But that's, of course, on hard/expert.
>> Anonymous
I have been playing DDR like 4 hours a day and eating right, I am def losing weight.
>> Anonymous
a good friend of mine lost 70 pounds playing ddr and dieting.

throw in some walking and light weight training and the pounds will fly off of you.

drink alot of water... more than 8 glasses a day.
eat healthier and you'll be thin in no time.
>> Midori !4hcHBs40RQ
>>25883
I don't own any weights.
Can I just substitute with something kind of heavy?
>> marathon !bugn5Hvh/M
>>25893
just do body weight exercises.
I can understand if you wont be able to do any pushups, but try doing them from your knees rather than your feet. see how many you can do... and then figure out how many sets you can do of x amount.

if you go to any sporting good store pick up some super super cheap 5 pound dumbbells... and then post another thread on /fit/ and someone will hook you up with what you should do with them.
If you're not able to get any 5 pounders... I think your main concern right now... for health reasons alone... should be eating healthier and getting some cardio done.
Get into a routine, and dont start slacking. Find something to motivate you and think about it nonstop.
goodluck

Go to a sports store and buy yourself a resistance band. I have one that I use with a workout tape (Power 90) and it's great.

vary your sources, it's best. anyone who likes to eat protein bars every day exclusively, raise your hand.

As long as you got the time walking burns almost the same calories as running as long as you go the same distance. And /fit/ is artarded about DDR. It is a great aerobic workout as long as you do it long enough. If you're sweating and breathing heavily, you're getting a workout. (needs to be for an hour though.)
>> Anonymous
When I got into high school I stopped playing sports and started playing DDR. I've stayed in shape. I play 30 minutes a day and do some ab exercises before bed. I also made the choice to not drink soda or eat fast food anymore which probably helped a lot.

Watermelon is nasty.

So basically,
I'll need to continue walking.
Play DDR for 30minutes to an hour.
Drink A LOT of water.
Learn to eat right.

Maybe I'll post results in a few months.

http://www.stepmania.com/

IF THE OP IS STILL READING THERE THREAD LISTEN

fuck DDR purchase a USB pad and download stepmania

no difficulty limits and you can download step packs to just about any kind of song you like. Also if they dont have it you can make it yourself

That said, while the difficulty level with stepmania is limitless you will get as good as its possible to get in 4-5 months and alot of the high end songs are only playable with your fingers

http://www.bemanistyle.com/sims/

head there for songs

Both software and songs are completley free but you will have to buy the pad

I am still reading, but.. I have a shitty computer incapable of playing games. I'd need to purchase a graphic card and another memory stick.

Nice idea though, maybe when I have the opportunity I'll get it.

It really doesn't take much to run it

what are you on a 15 year old windows 95 highschool computer o_0
>> Midori !4hcHBs40RQ

If I can't play iSketch without lagging, I'm pretty sure I can't run stepmania. D:

I'm pretty sure it's the graphic card that I /really/ need.
Even my 1280x1024 resolution is a bit messed up color-wise. I'm stuck with 16bit color.

I forget the guy who did this, nor do I have a link, as it was like 4 years ago I last read about him...

But a fellow did the subway diet and DDR for 8 months and lost something like 100 pounds.
>> Anonymous
I've lost 20 pounds playing DDR over about 6 months, no change in diet, arcade 4x a week about for a couple hours ( about 5 or 6 games )

Fuck you if you think DDR doesn't get you exercise. Play some 12 footers, you'll be panting like a little bitch
>> Anonymous
>>25738No, I don't eat anything up there.

you should skipping meals won't help you lose your body mass it just slows everything down. Eat small meals throughout the day
>> Cameron
If you're not throwing up, you're not thin enough.
>> Anonymous
>>25738

not eating 3 meals a day can put your body into starvation mode. Starvation mode = ultimate weight gain. That's why a lot of "dieters" have lifelong weight gain problems. Eat 3-5 meals a day. Preferably 5 meals, 2 of which are comprised solely of fruits and veggies.
