I briefly dislocated my knee today.

It isn't painful and I can walk normally without limping, so I think I'm OK.

How do I ensure that I'm all right, and what do I need to do to prevent future occurrences?

STEP ONE, DOCTOR, STEP TWO, ASK DOCTOR YOUR QUESTIONS. DON'T TAKE ADVICE FROM 4CHAN REGARDING SERIOUS HEALTH ADVICE, YOU DON'T WANT TO BLOW YOUR KNEE OUT AND GO OH, I GUESS I GOT TROLLED. (THOUGH THAT WOULD BE PRETTY FUNNY NOW THAT I'M THINKING ABOUT IT)

I did a similar thing a while back. I didn't realize it at the time, but I tore the fuck out of the cartilage under the kneecap and broke a piece of bone that held the kneecap in place. I wouldn't have known (because by itself all it would have done was been slightly swollen), but I tore a muscle when I did and the doctor found the bone floating in an xray.

tl;dr: GO TO THE FUCKING DOCTOR
