Sup /fit/, long time lurker, pic not related.

I'm 18, 5'10'' and only 135ish pounds, slim. How do I gain muscle pounds in a healthy way without being a pig? I've been doing weights for a couple weeks now, gained 5 pounds of muscle (no fat anywhere on my body, 6 pack abs easy).

Does the same weight workout for the fat people work the same for me? Or should I, as a person looking to gain muscle weight, focus more on weight than reps?

How about my diet? I eat the usual 2500 calories in mostly healthy food, a bag of chips or popcorn thrown in per day. Kind of daunted by the half-gallon milk drinking many people say they do per day :-\

I take pure whey protein supplements after workout, 1 gram per pound of body weight. Should I spread out the 130 grams throughout the day instead of right after my workout, like in the morning? I'd think that right after a workout would be best, but maybe it's like the 5-6 meals per day thing.

you have the right idea.

definitely focus more on weight than reps. and spread your protein throughout the day... really, no more than half should come from supplements... the rest needs to be from food.

and eat more. you will not get fat. and if you see that six pack starting to fade, maybe cut back a little then.

if you don't want to drink half a gallon of milk, drink a quart. that is two or three big glasses. one in the morning, one at night, one with lunch. easy stuff.

also, get 'starting strength' by mark rippetoe

btw, if strength/size is the goal, skinny people do it the same as fat people. i'm basically doing the same thing @ 5'11 235 and getting great results.
