I like to mix juice and seltzer water. You could do this by slow steps. The carbonation makes the water a lot more exciting, and juice starts out with more sugar in it than soda. Once you're comfortable drinking half and half, you could switch to just seltzer water, and then see if water helps from there. Also, try keeping water around yourself (Nalgene, bottle, whatever). If you feel thirsty, it'll be easiest to reach for what's there, and if water's there enough, you might get used to it.
