Shoulder Injury? Anonymous
Ok, so I've been struggling with a shoulder injury for about a week now, and I am looking for advice really.

Basically, whenever I bench, I get this terrible pain in my left shoulder, which seems to shoot into my bicep. This causes me to fail on the first rep of anything above about 70kg. This only seems to happen with the bench though, dumbell press is fine, shoulder press and arnold press is ok, front and lat raises don't hurt it, so I'm stumped really.

Any one else had a similar problem? Any ideas for rehabilitation?

Yes i've had a shoulder injury, though raises + shoulder presses definitley hurt me.

I managed to give myself the injury by foolishly lowering my arms too much benching.

To recover i laid off the direct shoulder work, but carried on benching with reduced range of motion (stopping parallel). My shoulder recovered and i continued as usual.

The problem is though, I can't get the bar off of my chest without the pain...should I just stick to dumbell press until I the pain stops?

You certianly shouldn't do anything that hurts you. If you can actually do dumbell presses without feeling any effect on your shoulder, then i don't see why not.

If you've got pain then stop and get it checked out. Don't fucking ruin your rotator cuff idiot.
