Exercise noob here with a quick question.
I'm looking to get into shape (isn't everyone?), and I was wondering if this would be a beneficial way to work out.
Instead of doing, say, 100 push ups in a 15 minute period, would doing 25-50 every hour I'm awake be an easier/smarter way to get them all in? Or since I wouldn't have the continuous heart rate, would I be wasting my time?
Sorry if this is a bit confusing, I can't exactly figure out how to word it.

This isn't /b/, we don't move quite as fast, sorry about that. Tits in the picture guarantees a response, also. So you know, 100 pushups in a row > two sets of 50 > 4 sets of 25 in terms of muscle growth. However, this is only because it's harder on the muscles. How many pushups, good ones, not decent ones that end up sucking, can you do? If you can do 100 in a fifteen minute period, do that. It will do more for you in the long run if you do that once a day. Other wise, you're going to be breaking up the rest period for your muscles and regrowth will be slower.

what do you mean by "get in shape"

Makes sense. What I mean by "get in shape" is "lose weight". Right now I am about 5'8'' and 185 pounds. I want to get down to around 150 or so. I have some muscle, most of it in my legs (used to weigh 220, started running, plus more recently marching with 60 pound tenors).
I've been trying to calculate a simple work out plan, and this is what I've come up with.
Every hour and 1/2:
30 jumping jacks
50 push ups
60 crunches
60 squats
30 lunges

I know its not exactly Arnold S. stuff, but its about 1000% of what I do now. Would this be effective at all, or would I be wasting my life.

Would doing it a certain amount of times a day be better? Such as 5 times a day, rather than every hour?

why dont you just quadrouple those numbers and do it once? it will be WAY better

I see.
Thank you, I'm (obviously) a bit new to this whole world.
I'm sure everything I've been saying has made no sense what so ever.
Thanks anon.
