I've been fat for as long as I've been able to read, I've also been strong. In middle school I started lifting, and never really got into it, but lifted enough that I could hold my own against your average Joe. I've never really been interested in weightloss, until now. I want abs, really fucking glorious abs. Not "Myspace abs" with enough definition to get me laid, no, I want rock hard, hyper-defined, super hero abs. Why? Because about a month ago I was fapping, and imagined my fiance biting my imaginary abs... and I came hard. Hard enough that I think it might almost be a fetish. Anyway, that very afternoon I looked at how to stop being such a fat fuck. One month and ten pounds later I'm here to let you tell me what, if anything I'm doing wrong.
Age: 18
Height:5'11
Weight: 251
Body fat (according to a scale which I don't know if I trust): 30%
Daily caloric burn: 2900 (according to caloriecount)
Daily caloric intake: started at 2000, hated the recipes, got rid of the shit I hated, ended up with 1800, ditched the recipes, bought food according the the food pyramid, experimented for a week, now at between 1400-1600 calories a day.
Breakfast: Fried rice- One cup of rice, two large eggs, two slices of toast, wash it down with two cups of 2% milk.
Snack: 100 Calorie popcorn bag, ziplocked, thrown in my backpack, and eaten throughout the day.
Lunch: Two slices of bread, one leaf Romain lettuce, Mustard, three or four pickle slices, half a chicken breast baked with a coating of balsamic vinegar.
Dinner: Either baked fries from one large russet potato or half a chicken breast. Ketchup when I eat the fries. Always two cups of 2% milk.
For exercise I bike to and from school (2 miles, in 100 degree heat, I live in death valley.) Next week I'm buying a heart rate monitor and a jumprope and starting HIIT.
Everything I've researched tells me this is the way to go. What do you think?

Sounds good but you should also give yourself a little more variety in what you eat...or if you are content with a crazy eating plan you will be fine.

Then you are luckier then most of us...I lost weight with another fat friend of mine and he became that asshole and I stayed the nice guy. We do not hang out to much anymore. I lost my best friend...and it sucked

Riding a bike 4 miles a day is nothing for you, even in 100 degree heat. You should buy yourself a pair of running shoes, and just run. Join a running club and run every single day. I don't care what anyone says, if you run 3-5 miles a day, you will see results in a few months.

its nothing huge, but 2% milk just packs on some extra fat. If you're drinking like 4 cups a day it can add up.

Sure. Running 3 to 5 miles every fucking day for months will give you results. You'll see results in the form of joint and tendon pains.

You're 251 lbs. That's far too heavy to run without damaging the shit out of your knees. You'll thank me later for advising that.

Don't just bike to and from school, bike for exercise a shit load as well. Stay well fucking hydrated and learn the signs of heat exhaustion so you don't go collapsing all over the pavement. You don't want to ruin someone's day by forcing them to scoop up your heavy overheated dying mass off the road.

When you drop to 190 lbs or less, start running twice a week. When you drop to 180 feel free to run three times a week. But always, fucking always run on soft surfaces. Don't go pounding pavement.

You are doing a lot wrong with your diet. Here is a simple explanation that nullifies your calorie-counting reasoning. Let's say you want to limit yourself to some arbitrarily small number of calories, say...1600 calories a day. That's the equivalent of about 5-7 Snickers candy bars. Eating those, you reach your calorie limit, but the nutritional value of those 200+ calories per bar is nothing. You are doing it wrong the same way everyone who is overweight is doing it wrong--your food choices (bread, rice, baked fries/potato, popcorn--are you joking?). You're not even mentioning all the junk food you eat between those meals. I'll tell you how to eat right in my next post.

-Stop eating simple sugars other than the fructose you get from fruit, stop eating simple flour/rices lacking their fiber, and stop eating starchy potato shit all the time. These are the foods that make people fat-NOT meat in any way, shape or form. Meat is your friend in weight loss because of the complexity of animal fats and proteins and their digestion by the human body. If you think animal fat=human fat, you are wrong.
-Eat whenever you are hungry, and eat to contention; you do not need to worry about eating in moderation when you eat healthy. Trust your body to know when to stop eating too much salad and steak with a bowl of fruit. Believe or not, it just knows.
-On a related note, *do* eat red meat--you need the protein/minerals/et cet that only red meat provides. And any meat that you want for that matter, even the real fatty cuts.
-Do *not* eat whole wheat (which is junk food), but rather whole grain (fiber/natural vitamins&minerals et cet)
-Any nuts/cheeses/whole grain crackers/fruit are great, tasty healthy snacks to replace your junk food
-You know you are eating healthy if you see a sudden (very) noticable change...ie, you will probably shit more, and your shits will probably be somewhat larger than what you are accustomed to
-The most important sign of dietary improvement is that you will feel less hungry as you continue eating healthy (lots of healthy fats/proteins/fiber will curb your hunger in a guilt-free way that no potato chip bag can replace)

I'd think that a large chunk of it (no pun really intended) would be that you're eating more healthily, are getting a lot more fiber, and your body's able to digest the food a lot more efficiently.

No. I practice what I preach, and I'll tell you this. At first, I had to shit a lot. It was a shock to my system--I must have shit 4-5 times a day for a week because my body was having to adapt to the huge amounts of protein and fat and fiber I was eating. I never felt so internally cleansed in my life, but all I did was eat more meat and vegetables and fruit, and cut down on everything else (basically, I ate no junk food-type carbohydrates). After a month, I was shitting once-twice a day. This is how it's been for at least 4 years.

I have a high metabolism so I am naturally slender, but if eat junk food much like the OP's dietary staples, I gain fatty tissue. With the way I eat now (probably about 4000+ calories), if I don't exercise, I lose weight. Just a consideration for you.
