Hello, Ectomorph here Anonymous
I'm about to move into my new apartment, which has a decent gym and pool. I'd like to fill out the areas of my body where there is an absence of fat/muscle (my arms are twigs etc.).

For the record, I'm 5'9 and weigh 125.

I've tried lifting before, done the whey thing, eaten two or three MRE's a day for a few months after Katrina (they have like 2000+ calories)... nothing makes me put on weight.

It's very frustrating to see horrible development; people tell me I am stuck with being an 'ectomorph' and recommend that I resign myself to Yoga and save the bodybuilding for another incarnation.

Am I? If not, what diet/exercises will make me put on muscle without dropping body weight like Spears drops babies?

Alright, so hear this out.

I want you to go to the gym and grab the most motherfucking intimidating weight you can find. And I want you to lift it, lift it until your muscles rip. Then go ahead and load the hell up on protein, sleep it off, and gogo instant muscle mass.

Really, just work out harder.

Diet: High Protein, High Calorie.

Exercises: Squats, Deadlifts, Bench Press, BB Row, Military Press, Snatch, Clean and Jerk.

Large exercises that use many muscles are reputedly the best for developing strength, and you can't have strength without muscle, ergo, you win.
