Hey /fit/, how do I fall asleep faster?

It takes me at least an hour to fall asleep. What can I do without taking drugs?

- Stop using a visual electronic device an hour before bed. No TV, computer, cell phone, etc.

- Exercise (Make sure you're DONE at least an hour before bed.)

- Glass of milk (Helps me at least.)

- Are you in school? Or have an old textbook lying around. Study something you have no interest in, or use for, and that's almost guaranteed sleep.

Don't think. Lie in bed and close your eyes and stop thinking. Just feel. Try to shutdown the intellectual part of your brain and go to the emotional part. Then just feeeeel man. Don't think, just feeel.

And what do you feel? Comfortable and tired.

take long, slow breaths. concentrate on your breathing. slow your breathing down. begin relaxing your body one part at a time from your feet up.all the while slowing your breathing down to a rythm that you think you have when you are asleep. then believe or even pretend that your are falling asleep. because you are. / self hypnosis

Daydreaming helps you fall asleep. Can't think of something to daydream about? That's where a good novel comes in handy. Unlike textbooks novels stimulate the visualization part of your brain, which just so happens to be involved in dreaming, and thus connected to sleep. If you get that part of your brain working you'll fall asleep much easier, not to mention stimulate your imagination which may have other desirable effects in the waking parts of your life. ENJOY!
