Hey /fit/. I was redirected here by /cgl/.

I'm female and weigh about 128-136 lbs at about 5'7 and a quarter or 171 cm approximately. About 3 years ago I was about one inch shorter and weighed anywhere from 108 to 113 pounds.
I'm trying to slim down again to around the same weight and was wondering if that is a good idea.

Someone from /cgl/ told me that I would have to eat roughly 1600 calories to maintain my weight and 1300 for fat loss and 1100 for extreme fat loss. Confirm/deny?
Idk if this helps but I used to be 31/32-23.5-32 and now I'm 33/34-27(ew)-34/35. Is it even possible to lose an inch or two off my hip measurement or is that set in stone?
I'm thinking I put on a lot of weight because of puberty, I guess, and lolWoW.

Women will have a great deal of difficulty losing weight, simply because of the way they evolved. Incidently, don't try to get to exactly the same weight, as you've grown. Try walking for 40-60 minutes a day at a brisk pace and eating 1800. Drop it down if you start to lose too much, or don't lose more than a kilo a week.

Your hips depend on how fat your arse is, and it can be done, but don't expect to lose it quickly.

And don't count calories based on what you see here. See a doctor, they'll be able to work out to the nth degree what you need. Try eating three small meals a day and two snacks. Lots of fruit.

Observe and take an intense cardio class. This can include a cardio bicycling class at your gym/college, a cardio kickboxing class for women, judo, regular kickboxing, basically anything intense and grueling with a stern instructor who can give you direction and discipline.

It's hard to just move from a non active lifestyle to an active one to lose weight.

Doctors, especially general practitioners, won't help you any more than we can. You'd be amazed how unhelpful GPs can be, because they are supposed to know about everything and wind up knowing almost nothing except a list of good referals. Forget about a diet plan to the "nth degree" from a doctor. For real help tailored to you, see a nutritionist or dietician.

Failing that, download Venuto. They'd just be using the same formula that he presents. The figures given to you are about right, though.

nutrients advice : eat moar fruit, less bread/dough/sweets. eat less. stop drinking soda. when losing weight, don't eat processed foods (bar high fibre cornflakes. I reccomend weetabix)

Also , eat less in general. Maybe pop some supplements too.

From everything I've read on this thread so far I've come to the conclusion that I am fat, have a nice body, need to get out of the kitchen and stop eating, should do more cardio, and shouldn't go back down to my previous weight.
Currently I'm only eating around 1100-1500 calories a day but my days are rather sedentary. I used to run cross country/track so I was a lot more active back then. I've taken up running for health again and I sometimes run a few miles.

You need to build up a bit of muscle to assist with killing off your fat. You're carrying a lot of excess for your frame, and that's how girls work. percentage wise, you probably warrent people saying man the harpoons.

Eat smaller meals more often, 4-5 times a day. It'll increase your motabalism, and stop your body trying to store fat.

I also thought ~130 at 5'7 and a quarter was average. I agree though, I do need to lose some weight or just tone up. Here's the thing, you can't go by weight alone. You don't know how much of the weight is muscle (heavier) and fat ( lighter) or just water mass.

When you lose weight you lose from all three areas.

The thing you have to remember here is that you don't want to be average, you -are- average. You're currently trying to hit an ideal, in the same way all us fags work out to get all muscled. That's not average.

Don't concern yourself on weight unless you know your bodyfat percentage; right now you should focus on where you are. Balancing when you eat will have a very quick effect. Motivating yourself to do some exercise will give you a core of muscle (which wont make you look like a dyke or give you huge arms) which will assist in breaking down fat, and making sure that when you eat you are just supporting your muscle weight, not adding to fat weight.

Essentially you need to spend about three weeks sorting out a way to get exercise and having a decent diet and the look at what has changed; photos, feeling, look, and sure your weight. You then adjust by trial and error.
