Dear /fit/,
I am currently about to move to an apartment on my own again, and last time I did (2 years ago) I started gaining weight which I still haven't lost.
This time I've decided not to fall into the same trap as last time and start eating junk food or being too lazy to cook proper meals. I've also decided to start working out, but the problem is I don't know how. I've decided to start swimming about 2 times / week, but apart from that I'm not sure what I should do.
What advice does /fit/ have for me? Anything in particular I should eat or any specific excercises I should do?

I'd say both.

Most of my body fat is located around lower belly and thighs, will excercises that train muscles located there burn off more fat in those areas than excercises training say arms?

No, you can't.. just do a little bit of research if you like. Sounds like you just want to improve your overall health and appearance? As a novice to exercise (doesn't take long to become "pro"!) I'd suggest swimming like you are going to do.. that's and awesome zero impact form of cardio, and then some resistance training.

For starters I'd say 2-3x swimming and/or other cardio per week

and 2x resistance workouts per week.

if you need any advice or other info i can help you write up a program, just email me at tombo_44@hotmail.com
