So, /fit/, I've been a lardass my entire life, despite various attempts to make myself otherwise. I recently discovered that I suffer from hypothyroidism (not a total surprise, my mother also has it). So if I start to get treated for it, will I magically slim down, or what?

the amount of people suffering from legitimate hypothyroidism is like 0.01% of the population

whereas the percent of the population that use it as an excuse for their epic bloated boohoo im a flabmeister is far, far higher than that

hence /fit/'s cynicism

OP here. I understand /fit/'s cynicism regarding fatasses and such. Lord knows I've encountered enough of those myself. I haven't been doing squatz, per se, but for years I've stuck to a regimen of an hour or so of strenuous exercise per day with no results.
As for the very very small chance of hypothyroidism in the population, my odds of getting it or lack therof were certainly affected by the fact that in addition to my mother having the same condition, that entire side of the family has various autoimmune disorders (which does not just mean lol AIDS).

in before "enjoy your AIDS".

Hey fat fucker.

My dad was hypothyroid until they put him on medication. He actually got fatter.

And uh.. My thyroid failed when I wasn't exercising for a long time, being a pig.

So. Your thyroid might be failing because you're a fat fucker.

Lololol that sucks
