Hey /fit/. So far, I've been doing great with my weight loss, lost about 10 lbs in 10 weeks. However, I am concerned that I am also losing some muscle weight in the process. What is the best way to maximize losing just fat and NOT muscle mass? I alternate HIIT and strength training days everyday and watch what I eat. Comments please.

Just dont leave your muscles idle for too long or they go afk.

If you work out your muscles regularly and properly than they will not deteriorate. Especially when you are only losing a pound of fat a week. You should have gained a noticeable amount of muscle in ten weeks.

You will lose muscle while losing weight no matter what you do (besides steroids lol). However, the more you use them while losing weight, the less you will lose them. If you lift a lot, and get lots of other exercise, and lose weight at a relatively slow pace (all of which you seem to be doing), the muscle loss should be negligible.
