So /fit/, I've been working with my trainer at the gym to build a comprehensive strength training and muscle building program. Diet's changed up to focus on 1lb protein per pound of body weight, and I picked up some GNC whey protein.

Anyone have any experiences with whey protein? It's giving me 21g per drink, so I'm making sure to keep an eye on my protein intake and not overdo it.

tl:dr is whey protein FO REALZ fit?

Question related to OPs,

If I'm doing running exercise and weights, will consuming more protein help me not tire out so quickly on reps/sprints?

You're thinking about carbs. Protein isn't fuel, it's the tape your body mends your muscles with after you rip them up. Fat and carbs are the energy.

1 lb of protein per lb of body weight huh?

anyways, go to walmart and pick up body fortress whey protein, 13 bucks for a massive tub of high quality protein. GNC is the biggest rip off ive ever seen in my life. I used to shop there but will never go back after the 1000% profit they made off of me.

if you are looking to build muscle this is not the stuff you want. I use this for cycling as a recovery drink and I have friends that use it for a quick fix for protein.
Honestly, use it to help rebuild (recovery) what muscle you tear and not as a builder like Creatine.

That's the whole fucking idea behind building skeletal muscle.

Wal Mart, in general, carries nothing but creatine laden shit. At least mine does. You are free to look, but don't expect it to be there every time you need it. GNC, however, is all natural, 100% whey. More expensive, but meh, it's only 57 (or less, if on sale) cents per serving.

goddamn you're an idiot. the main source of protein in both BF and GNC is whey concentrate. the creatine is not an issue at all. there is only a small amount and THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH CREATINE ANYWAY.

one scoop of BF has 26 grams of protein and gnc has 20.

i think YOU need to read the fucking labels sometime.

PS. they are both garbage and you should be using one mainly from isolate or hydrolyzed, such as ON or AllTheWhey.
