Caffeine is a legal drug and stimulant. The fact a lethal dose of caffeine is less than a lethal dose of cocaine should tell you something. It's not good even in small doses. It just throws off your body and gives you fluctuating, temporary energy and then withdrawals. Drink it too much and you start needing it every day just to stay regular...that's a bad thing. It also stains your teeth and kind of smells like poop while brewing and gives you awful breath...and it's terribly unhealthy if you take it with milk, cream, sugar, etc. And there really is nothing healthy in coffee, unlike tea which is generally packed with antioxidants and caffeine free.
There are better ways to regulate your energy and keep up your metabolism. It's called eating right and exercising.
Just remember, nicotine and fast food are legal along with caffeine. Doesn't make them a good idea. The funny thing is, both nicotine and caffeine have extremely low lethal doses, much less than any known legal drug or toxic substances like cyanide, yet they're both completely legal.
