Does doing exercise and eating more frequently shorten lifespan, seeing as you are making your metabolism higher?

Your thoughts.

in theory, it makes your heart work more and in the long run you're shortening your lifespan. BUT, exercise also makes you live longer by preventing heart disease and diabetes and other diseases.

Not sure about the effects of eating moar though.

Yes it does. Studies have proven that very low-cal diets lead to long lifespan.

Guess what. I don't give a fuck. I'd rather burn out than waste away. And besides, in 50 years from now, when I should be staring death in the face, science will have reached a point where they can keep our organs healthy (or replace them) for many more years.

Meh. Nobody knows in advance what they'll die of anyway. So there's little point in worrying about exercise "shortening" your life span if it also averts the danger of cardiovascular issues and the like.
If you would have died of that otherwise, it obviously actually lengthens your life span. It would take a psychic to tell in which direction your life span is affected.
Or you could be hit by a truck long before either danger starts mattering.

you want to end up in some elderly retirement house without beeing able to walk anymore?
Well me neither.
So who cares, better live a healthier life, than a long and shit one.

Unless you're a woman, you need to eat more.
2000 cals is a healthy amount per day for average guys. Sportsmen would probably need even more.

You guys mention the heart disease and diabetes prevention but let us not forget about the stress relief it provides. Stress is still the #1 killer. So taking that into account doing excercise and eating more frequently will lengthen lifespan not shorten it. I just saw a kid do a fucking flip in a damn wheel-chair. There just isn't any excuse for not working out.

know what most people die of?
Heart failure.

You're too poor to buy proper food? But you still have enough cash for an internet connection?

Food is one of the basic needs of the human body. It's not something to cut down on if you're short on cash. Srsly.
Eating properly is more important to your health than worrying about exercise shortening your life span.

Either of you is wrong. :)

I believe I saw that study, whereby rats that were never fed to complete full lived longer.

As others mentioned, I would rather live healthy now. I see too many old decrepit people that look like they regret the unhealthy paths they took. I am working to avoid that.

And as other anon said, science may prolong organs in the future. So, how cool would that be? On that day, you have a healthy tight 60 year old body and they find a way to stop aging. The alternative would be to be fat, slothful, ugly at 60. So they create an aging cure, but you are stuck with a broken body!

No, I want to enjoy it now while I have it.

Good thing I don't eat or exercise and I'm a skinny emo faggot. Now, when im 105 years old, shitting myself, i'll get all the bitches!

I'd rather be moderately fit and strong for my entire life as opposed to be a weak shit and aging into an even weaker shit.

Besides... look at Jack Lalanne. That badass has devoted his whole life to fitness and he could kick the shit out of you at 94.

Sitting in the chair the whole day, letting your muscles atrophy.

Yeah, you are healthier if you eat less. I once saw a documentary about this and this man who ate only the bare minimum had a vascular system many decades younger than him for example. I still think this is going overboard. I'm going to keep on drinking beer, eating everything I can lay my hands on because life is meant to be enjoyed.
