Not OP, but I have a similar question.
My joints, mostly ankle and knee, make a cracking-like noise. For example, if I stand up after sitting down, my right knee cracks. Doesn't hurt, but how can I stop this?

tl;dr I accidentally right knee joint, is this dangerous?

one good way to prevent pain on your legs is to stop slamming them into immoveable hard concrete and stone and asphalt all the time as if we were built for it. learn to go barefooting on soft ground, or get a pair of vibram fivefingers. i love mine.

Insoles and some sort of shock absorbent material between your foot and knee. It can be a cloth rag, it can be a brace, whatever.

Only run on grass or sand, try to run on your toes more than pounding flat footed with your heel.

Don't carry around a huge fucking exercise bag.

Don't run every day of the week, 10 miles twice or three times a week is good enough. If you've got tendonitis then stop running altogether for about a month.

Bending your knees while idle keeps the tendon constricted. If you're just tarding out for no reason, keep your legs straight rather than bent.

Yes, I myself have tendonitis in my left knee right now.

One last thing: If you're in recovery phase and have stopped running then take Ibruprofen. It's a painkiller but more importantly it's an antinflammatory.

Don't fucking take it while running either. You'd be cheating yourself out of the effort as well as the healing process.

SQUATZ

Super cereally, my right knee used to track medially whenever I would run, and I also used to have a tight, right hip flexor. Heavy-ass SQUATZ fixed both
