Hi /fit/

I weight 190 and 5'8" and I'm going for Navy MEPS in about two weeks. I gotta cut at least 9 lbs, after MEPS I'll have nearly half an year to really lose the weight before basic.

14 days, 9 lbs, is this possible? I have limited access to a sauna, kinda broke so don't want to buy 'detox' drinks. Also, should I drink moar water or less (I normally drink a gallon and half a day)

you can crash diet but it's not healthy. Basically lijmit intake to like a can of tuna and an apple a day. and two days before weigh in drink only a couple glasses of water and day of weigh eat or drink nothing.

you'll gain it all back and then some rather quickly but it should get you through the test.

Drink lots of water. Limit sodium intake. Don't eat much. The night/morning right before, exercise a lot in plastic trash bags and don't drink anything until after you're weighed.

Make sure that you do not become too dehydrated/hypoglycemic and you should be fine.

Consume nothing, not even water for the last 48 hours. Squirt some lemon juice so you don't faint or anything.

Are you trying to pass a tape test or something?

Your not going to lose that much weight in that short period of time.

The Navy will work out your problems by running you around the training area an untold number of times untill you pass the tape test.

I suggest you just get use to the abuse and start excercising and eating a little less, tubby.

You have 14 days? A no carb diet. Your body will go into ketosis. The first 2 days you will lose nothing, and then the next days you'll lose about 1 to 2 pounds per day. If you want it to be really successful, eat nothing but lean proteins (ONLY (not anything else besides water) chicken, fish/tuna, or other lean proteins or nuts and keep it under your basal metabolic rate). Stay on that diet for 7 days. 0 carbs (except from possible nuts). Remember that. Then go off it and consume a lot of healthy fiber. My recommendation? Beans. Buy red beans, kidney beans, whatever... and eat them. Shit like a motherfucker. Do NOT consume diet soda or fake sugar or excess sodium and salt. Then probably not eat the last day. The whole time, consume A LOT of water.
