Ideal Male Body Anonymous
sup /fit/

Ever since I started working out, about 2 years ago, I gained a renewed apreciation for the male form; I can go so far as to say that I am, in fact, attracted to the ideal male form in an abstract sense.

As seen in the picture, the ideal form of a male has not changed since the dawn of philosophical thought, while that of the female has been subject to a considerable amount of variability.

Though, this attraction is entirely Platonic; I am attracted to the male form, not men.

TLDR: I am attracted to the ideal male body, but not gay --can anyone else share my situation?

You know that is interesting now that you mention it. Chubby women were considered to be the most attractive back in the olden times, whereas now it's the exact opposite, along with men who's ideal form has never changed whatsoever.

i think most people actually have a firmer idea of the 'ideal' body of their own gender than the opposite.. i mean, i know bisexual people who are attracted to only a very particular body of their own gender, but are much more lenient of the other sex.

no clue why though, but it doesn't make you gay

Well...I would say the ideal male form has changed a LITTLE. Now, the ideal male form has a bigger dick.

Also, you have to keep in mind that the ideal male form varies by culture. For example, in some tribes, a fat man is considered attractive.

So, the ideal male body does depend on the culture and the state of society at the time, just as the female body does....it's just that it has been subject to less variation.

give OP image to /ic/ and they'll put a decent penis on it.
i promise

The weird thing is, I am much more critical of undefined male bodies than I am with females. I am completely heterosexual, but when it comes down to a healthy body I am more concerned with how mine looks compared to how the body of the girl I am having sex with looks (within reason, of course).

It's flaccid; and secondly, the Greeks saw larges penises to be clunky and awkward reserved for the uncivilized barbarians. More importantly, a 5 inch penis still looks better than a sluggish 8 inch cock, imo.

>More importantly, a 5 inch penis still looks better than a sluggish 8 inch cock, imo.

Yeah, but most of the time, the 8 inch cock will FEEL better.

Also, what makes you think an 8 incher would be sluggish? There's a correlation between height and penis size, and taller guys (because they have bigger bodies) usually have plenty of blood to fill their cocks and make it quite hard. I've seen loads of massive rock hard cocks in porn.

But seriously, let's not hijack a perfectly good thread with another penis size discussion. Because of how stubborn I am, I will probably attempt to have the last word regardless, but I will try to restrain myself.

Back on topic, the ideal male body.

Nowadays, I think the ideal male body is starting to lean towards an animu body with unnaturally huge arms (compared to the chest size).

I am 5'11" and have a 5.5inch cock, no complaints yet.

Also, I agree with your assessment to an extent, but I think the skinny male body is coming into play a lot more. I mean, there has been a lot of emphasis on developing the body just so much as to provide a light definition, which is then coupled by starving oneself to achieve that azn boy look.

Personally, I am closer to that than I am to the picture, I weigh 140 now, but used to weigh 125 over summer.

You're not alone.

Being able to judge something and appreciate it's aesthetics does not mean anything.

I can view, appreciate and judge art, yet I do not want to stick my penis into it.

Don't worry about it.

So, does anybody workout sheerly to attain that ideal male body --unrelated to sex?

I mean, motivation for working really comes down to 3 things: health, sex, and self-gratification.

My reasons are a mixture of all three, the element taking prominence tends to cycle through all three. For three months I will be concerned with sculpting my body into perfection, 6 months later I will be more concerned with how I am perceived by the opposite sex, but later I am more concerned with my longevity.

>>64825
I agree with your three goals, but I'd say that while I realize what I am doing is much more healthy for me it is not my primary goal at all.

I am working out specifically for the Greek ideal, and I'm fortunate enough to have some nice Mediterranean genetics to support this. This is because I am fairly vain, and while I've always been an attractive person who takes care in his appearance I frankly have looked better with clothes on for some time. This has adversely affected my sex life because I don't *feel* attractive when I'm naked so I can't get into it and feel pressured to perform. I figure that if I know I'm a sexy beast then it will improve my confidence with and enjoyment of sex, so my self-gratification and sexual goal go hand-in-hand.

>>64845
Yea, I can emphasize with the self-esteem issues. It feels a lot better having sex when you aren't worried about what they think about extra fat, or lack of definition, etc. But, I do realize that the fat/flab I am worried about will never be noticed by the girl and is sheerly only a concern to myself. It doesn't stop me though.

As I said, I am much more critical on my own body than the females I am having sex with.

>>64770

wat, its like twice as big as mine
>> Anonymous
>>64848
I can agree with that. Two girls I go with rarely look alike, but I find uniqueness attractive so that makes sense. I've even slept with a fat girl who is now a good friend of mine (but to be honest I could never *date* a fat person).

Is this turning into a secrets thread or something?
>> Anonymous
>>64862
I would never have sex with a fat girl, ever. I just have lower standards for women than I do for myself. For instance, if I eat a piece of cake I would be disgusted with myself, conversely, if a girl I am dating eats one I couldn't care less. Also, I am not that concerned with females being hard-bodied, they can't be chubby, but curves are fine on them, but on myself I hate any bit of flab.

are you guys serious? it's much more fashionable to be thin and lean now than it was say 30 years ago.

or have you not seen the skinny jeans the kids are wearing these days?

This is not coming from a skinny person, either.

Those are girls' jeans on men. Honestly, let's pay attention to how long that trend lasts. Androgyny is simply not sustainable as an ideal.

God bless hipsters bringing back facial hair.

I see what your talking about, well your not gay unless you get hard for a guy who is nice toned body that means your gay if you do if your dick tingles just a bit means your gay :( sorry bro.
>> Anonymous
>>64874

Haha goddamn it that was full of win.

I think men are more lenient on women (I know I am) when it comes to body because of the ideals that have been hammered into our minds about sex roles. Men are supposed to be strong and fit, able to protect the women, who are "the fairer sex." Thus a flabby guy looks a lot worse than a girl with a little something extra on her. The very fact that women have breasts means that they were meant to have some healthy amount of fat on them. Girls = curves, guys = angles (if that makes sense).
>> RSI guy !HjbWRiSTJ.
well mens body's are easier to gain muscle, so this is logical
>> Anonymous
>>64760

Biologically, there is still an attraction towards women who are not emaciated. Personally, I blame the whole female body image issues on gay men. Most, not all, of the fashion designers out there that are male are gay. Cool, we get that. But, then they go designing clothes for women who don't look like women, but rather little boys. Coincidence? I think not. These fashion trends then filter down to the populous after a year of being considered "high fashion" and women are stupid enough to buy into it.

Fucking signed. I never understood why those boyish fashion models are praised for being the most beautiful women on earth. But we aren't doomed yet because actresses and other popular women still look like delicious women. Fuck those gay fashiofags!

interesting i want to hear more. i never found high fashion appealing. it stands out, alone

Yes, I'm definitely attracted to the Grecian ideal, and is partly what motivates me. I don't really agree that the ideal woman's form varies between cultures. We evolved to spot very specific things: overall health, symmetry, and indicators of being capable of surviving childbirth.
>> Anonymous
>>65127
Well, it does vary somewhat, but male ideals are much much more varied.

Y'know OP I have been feeling the same way. Its quite interesting to see that the general ideal male body hasn't really changed much in the past 6000 years. I mean in victorian times a fat guy was considered well to do but not necessarily attractive. And its interesting as how the ideal for females keeps changing. But I have to say as much as I enjoy the male form I still love the curves of a woman.

ok i've had my fill. a few minutes later it's tl;rd. thanks, i appreciate the link though won't read much. we can return to OPs point now.

i am attracted to the male form, as a goal to work to, but don't get erect.

I definitely appreciate the male body from an aesthetic standpoint. It is strong, lean, cut. If anyone cannot appreciate the body like that, they are blind.
