so i just ran a mile on this thing. i'm 5'11'' and 160 lbs and ran a mile in like 17 minutes. i know it's pretty shitty but i haven't run in about a year. last year i could do a mile in 9 and that was being out of shape and just weighing less. i can't believe how sucky my mile is now, but i guess it could be due to the different treadmill too.

inb4 run outside pussy

also, i just ran in my socks and now my feet feel like the skin is falling off. i can't even walk to the shower right now it hurts so bad =(

Did shoes not occur to you?

treadmills arent really the best thing to judge how quickly you can run a mile because you can change the speed, its best to do it outside with a timer at your own pace.
i can do a mile (well 1.1m according to my phone) in just under 10 mins without proper training (im aiming for 8mins ) and im probably in the same condition as you, maybe worse (im 5' 4''ish 145lb).

and not using shoes when running is a baaaaadddd idea!

NO YOU DID NOT. That's called 'walking'. You 'walked' a mile in 17 minutes.

yes i suppose i did walk it instead. the thing is my treadmill is max inclined so i don't hit my head on the ceiling (low ceiling) when i run, so i imagine this plays a roll in my exhaustion as well. not to mention the extreme pain in my shoeless feet. (i was too excited to actually start the treadmill that i built last night than to think about wearing shoes heh heh)

i will do better tomorrow (assuming my feet are better by then but i imagine they won't be..)

anyway my plan for now is to run a mile (run to the best of my ability anyway) in the morning and do pushups at night (hundredpushups.com!)

^i posted this^

i did another run (1.1miles) and back and both times i managed 8mins 40secs, a whole minute off last time, average speed of about 7mph.

so if u want a true goal - if i can do what ive just said, you should easily do a mile in 8 minutes as long as you dont stop.
best stretch your muscles and get some water before you start tho!

sounds good =) once these blisters on my feet go away (i've had the most fucked up day walking around all day) i'll definitely give it a shot.
