special variation of the lat bar pulldown exercise? Anonymous
I'm looking for a specific exercise.

5 months ago I found an bodybuilding forum where they discussed a special variation of the lat bar pulldown exercise. Lat bar pull downs usually involve your biceps muscles, which is what the guys at the forum tried to avoid. They found a way to isolate the lats with some sort of unusual bar where you hook your arms in. Unfortunately my bookmarks got deleted in a HD crash.

Anyone know what I'm talking about?

cliff notes:
-found a cool exercise in a forum, lat bar pulldown with lats isolation and no biceps involvement
-lost forum url
-need name of that exercise

I always thought pulldowns only very very slightly involve the biceps?

Only frat boys do any exercise involving biceps ever.

Unrelated to there being the new fit board, I am just now restarting a work out regiment with my room mate. That's very much something I intend to restart (took 2 years of HS weight training) and I should tell you, don't bother trying to be a stingey ass when it comes to isolating and working only a certain muscle group. Do them all, as much as you can, and don't ease up. I was one of the best at the vertical pole climb in my class and could do 15 pull ups (then again that probably is using a lot more of the biceps). My recommendation to you is to suck it up and do as many close together pull ups/lat pull downs, then do as many as you can with continually wider grips. Don't be like those people who say "I'm gonna get buff" but only want to do 4-5 reps and sit down and slack off every couple of minutes.

OH SHIT GUYS, YOU HEAR THAT? HE WAS THE BEST ROPE CLIMBER IN HIS GYM CLASS, NOT ONLY THAT BUT HE CAN DO 15, COUNT THEM, FIF-FUCKIGN-TEEN PULLUPS

DROP WHAT YOUR DOING AND GIVE THIS MAN YOUR ATTENTION, HE CLEARLY KNOWS WHAT HES TALKING ABOUT

15 isn't braggable. I can do 25-30, depending on how loud my iPod is turned up ;x

Someone who can do double bodyweight chins for 8+ reps here.

Drop the fucking isolation bullshit, grab a bar, lift yourself up, repeat. Isolation is for girls who can't succesfully get their CNS firing, so toughen the hell up and your body will show it.

I can do 30+ chin ups. I'm light weight and have good upper body strength.

Why would you want to avoid bicep work? It looks better, and if you are trying for practicality, you'd want to be able to climb something. So do real ones faggot. Build up from 1 or 2 if that's all you can do.

What the fuck is the point of your post?
