5'9 180lbs

The Doc told me I should look into losing weight so I figure I could drop about 30lbs or so but I'm not sure exactly what the best way to go about this is.

I'd say most of the calories I gain in a day come from soda so I'm gonna cut all that shit out and stick with water.

I'm not looking to bulk up or really gain anymore muscle so what would be an ideal workout routine?

If you are in a caloric deficit, you will not build muscle. Just do a power or an endurance routine + cardio.

It really isn't hard... I promise.

Eat 500 Cal less than that to lose weight healthily.

Remember: Cals should come from
20%protein (less should be ok if you don't lift, which I REALLY doubt you do)
20%-30% fat
the rest comes from carbs

1g of protein = 4Cal
1g of carbs = 4 Cal
1g of fat = 9 Cal
