Basically the old 80s - 90s Rock stuff. See Survivor or AC/DC.
At least for me that works. Others prefer Electronic stuff like Daft Punk.
What do YOU prefer OP?

Off the top of my head:

Metalcore:
All That Remains

Viking Metal:
Turisas

Modern Rock:
Breaking Benjamin

Electronica:
Infected Mushroom

Not much of a rap/hip-hop guy, so can't help you there.

Good luck

Everybody has to find their own music to workout.
Personally I prefer electro / techno, maybe some kind of hip hop as well. On the other hand I can't work out properly while listening to rock, for example.

Agreed. Depends on your regimen.

If I'm sprinting, powerlifting or kickboxing, it's heavy metal.

If it's a jog, ambient techno/electronica.

Weight training: classical music. Seriously, try it. Shit's so cash.

I work out to indie/alternative rock. I know, I'm wierd. I like Muse, Modest Mouse, Arcade Fire, just started listening to Pinback, etc.

There's just something about music with a slow steady beat that keeps pushing me forward.

Get Colors by Between the Buried and Me.

Then play that shit from the first song to last every workout you do.

Then feel empowered and feel like punching some bitches.

Weight training to classical music is the shit, especially really dramatic operatic pieces, like an adagio with big swells, like Barber or Albinoni. You'll feel like a fucking superman when you're deadlifting heavy to that.
