The whole running on empty stomach theory is based on one belgian runner who was much more prepared regarding running than anyone on /fit/. He did 3 times and he concluded it wasn't worth it. I run on an empty stomach in the morning (but I drink, don't forget to drink) because it's easier to run. If I run in the evening or in the afternoon, I tried to wait one hour and half so I don't have anything in the stomach being digested and generally I poop the preceding meal.
