Ok, /fit/, I need help. I'm 21 years old, 6'5" and 205 lbs (~93 kg) and kind of out of shape. I plan on joining the Navy next year, but the only problem is I'm kind of out of shape and haven't really worked out in about a year and a half. Any tips for getting myself in good enough shape to get through boot camp without dying?

Pic unrelated.

Go to boot camp. They will man you up for you.

I would be all for that, except for the fact that a lot of people who enlist whilst out of shape end up with injuries and the like from the exercises, etc, not to mention the bad stigma that goes along with failing at boot camp.

If weight's the problem, running. Do it. If you intend to join the navy, build up your discipline now. Do what you don't want to. Do what you must. Do it for yourself because you will become better because of it. WEIGHT WILL BE YOUR BIGGEST CHALLENGE. After that, toning is easy and will be much easier because of it.

Weight's not really a problem, as I'm actually rather skinny, even at 205 lbs. Running is a good suggestion, though, so I guess I'll start running more often :D

it will build leg strength and make calves more tone. upper body str is easiest to gain over time with dedication because youre more used to using it
