Uh, really? I never heard of that before so I just looked it up: "Sodium Hydroxide is extremely caustic, and can react with fats and oils on skin, in a reaction which creates salts. For this reason, sodium hydroxide is very dangerous, and skin should be washed thoroughly with water following contact with this substance." -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodium_hydroxide
Doesn't sound like a very good thing to put on your face, at any concentration.
