/fit/ needs some mods.

/fit/ is either so full of retards, assholes, and trolls that any legitimate attempt to MOD the board by people who DO know their shit meets endless walls of ignorance and resistance.

TL DR:
in a world when 'facts and reality' do not apply, how can anyone stem the madness with science and reason?

Health and fitness is such a touchy subject. Nutrition and sports science isn't always exact, frequently new findings contradict established thinking and opinion. And outside of some coaches, trainers, scientists, and hardcore gym rats, the lack of health/exercise knowledge and ignorance is disturbing.

And its so personal; because people base the way they live, eat, and train on their own personal goals, they think that whatever they do is the best and everyone else is wrong for doing what they do. It becomes a part of who they are. And let's face it, people want to do the best in whatever they decide to undertake, and when someone with different goals or not enough knowledge comes along and tells them that they're wrong, people get defensive.

Many who've been in the fitness industry for awhile can attest to what I'm saying, this shit just doesn't happen only in /fit/, it happens everywhere. Bodybuilders make fun of recreational lifters, athletes make fun of bodybuilders. That's why there's different fitness community websites on the web catering to specific kinds of training. With /fit/, all the channers with different goals come crashing together. The dominant faction here seems to be skinny and fat nerds who want to get muscled, cut, and powerful, and once they get really get into it, everyone else is just plain wrong.
