sup /fit/

I'm looking at stronglifts, but the squats and overhead press seem like they might put strain on your spine. I'm a bit below average height and don't want to do exercises that put too much vertical force on my back.

What exercises can I substitute for overhead press? lat pulldown machine?

How about squatz? Are front squatz better than back squatz when it comes to force on the back?

And lastly, can I get stronger arms (and pecs/back) just by doing pullups and chinups?

Do you have back problems? Why are you so concerned?

You're a fucking faggot and pussy. Go squat until your back hurts and then squat some more. The next day it won't hurt, and maybe then you'll lose your virginity.

squats and overhead presses dont put any strain on your spine if you do them right
Just man up and do them, theres no easy way out, theres no shortcut home

i just did squats and overhead press 20 minutes ago for stronglifts. im 5'8 140lbs and it was my first time doing them. it puts very little strain on my back but i was only squatting 80 lbs (first time) and overhead pressing 70. just do it man why are you pussying out before you even try it?

and i was supposed to do pullups and max i can do was fucking 2. so i did 5x2, yea pretty horrible. oh well. stop being a fucking bitch

Also, I only rep 175x6 and I weigh 195. So don't feel so bad OP.

when starting pullups--its ok if you can only do 2 and you have to do 5 sets...just keep working at it.
