Bed Bugs Anonymous
Turns out the shit-hole of an accomodation I got put into has bed bugs.

I've read online, but most things say that I'd need to call a professional pest specialist.

Till the office sorts it out, you think I could exterminate the shit with an insecticide? I'm prepared to waste the whole can on it if it would work.

Just wondering if anybody has had any experiences or success with self dealing with these assholes.

problem with insecticides is that they are basically nerve gas. Meaning the room you spray in, gets unhealthy.

not like browsing 4chan is a hazard to ones health, amirite?

Yea I had the same concerns, I was wondering whether I could minimize effect by covering with many layers of clean linen.

Plan was to spray the bed and carpet below with the spray monday morning and stay away all day, then in evening sleep with all stuff covered with clean linen.

I really can't take the bites anymore, and at the moment I am forced to doping myself up with Cetirizine and HC45 to make them not itch, since I always get a really bad reaction to mosquitos and stuff like that too.

Thanks OP for making me aware of this. I might have bed bugs at my parents' home bed.

I only sleep there over the weekend every 2-3 weeks, is there a chance they will starve?

no, they can survive nearly a year without food.

What.. bastards!

Yea I might do that actually, friend offered me to stay round for a while till it's sorted.

It's annoying it took me so long to figure out what it was, since I kept putting it down to mosquitos.

Also, do you think there's a chance of contamination, since I went home this weekend, and I don't wanna go spreading the shit at home too.

Yeah, hermatocryal animals just don't waste energy on creating heat with their bodies, so they can run on low maintenance forever. Same with reptiles.

I had bedbugs in my apartment once..used 3 bug bombs and washed all the fabric i could..didn't help. call the exterminator op!

The fuckers hide everywhere, in niches and behind pictures etc. It's not enough to just bomb the bed.

Damn. It's quite a small room, but it's all carpet, which I guess is what's gonna make it hard.

I guess I'll just have to wait and see what the office says, I mean I think they're bound legally to do something about it (not paying £104 a week to get bitten by these fuckers).

Till then I'll just spray and sleep at friend's, or I could bring a sleeping back up and camp in my bathroom like a hobo

do the hobo thing and pretend.

OP, move all your shit now, wash it in hot water and do not live there again. If you have bed bugs, chances are someone else in the building has them too. They can and do ride in suitcases and the like, so you risk carrying infestation. And they can live for 18+ months without feeding, so they will out last you.

- Hot water
- Freezing temperatures
- Professional insecticide

Damn.. I think it's too late now, I carried my shit home in a suitcase that was under the bed for a couple of weeks, brains of britain here

Why do disgusting things happen to clean people?
>> Anonymous
Never fuck with insecticides by yourself especially if you've never used them before.

You have been warned.

clean people just tend to notice certain things more. You'd be surprised what conditions people are content living in.

Unfortunately you are fucked. I had the same issues, the best thing you can do is: freeze books/other non washable stuff to kill any eggs or bugs in there. Super hot wash any clothing and sheets. Replace mattress. Put new mattress in a air tight fabric protector (you can get them at Wal-Mart). Call exterminator. If you live in an apartment, or are renting, your landlords MUST pay for this.

Good luck.
