So folks, help me out.

I'm working on getting in shape, but my main issue is night-time eating.

1) Is it okay, or should I rabidly avoid it?
2) if Yes, what time should I typically stop eating?
3) if I just can't shake the munchies, what foods should I go for instead?

1) Avoid it.
2) 3+ before you go to bed, other than a tiny healthy snack if you have to have it (1 oz. nuts, vegetables, ect)
3) Don't be a pussy, don't eat. Eat right 5 or 6 times the whole day long and you won't be hungry.

Eating before bed being bad is a myth. If you have any foods that are slowly digestable it's best to eat it before bedtime.

Slowly digestible? Not sure what you mean. What are some examples?

casein protein: cottage cheese

no it isn't retard

eating any carbs before bed is terrible. 100% of those calories will be stored as fat.

Eating protein and fat is not as bad, but still not recommended.

OP here. Is it okay to drink before bed still, or should I avoid that too? I only ever drink water or tea, hardly ever use sweeteners, if that info helps.

Lulz yes you need to stay hydrated overnight. Avoid the sweeteners, use real sugar if you must, don't use artificial sweeteners they're horrible for your health, and don't drink too much tea, due to the caffeine (keeps you awake).
