Hi /fit/

I need to loose between 30-40 lbs. I know muscle burns fat, but should i focus on mostly cardio first and then weight train to build muscle later? Vice versa? Or just combine the 2 from the start?

The best thing to do would be to build muscle first as it'll help you burn fat later, but if you're uncomfortable with how you look you might want to cut some fat first.

this is for the weak willed who think they'll die if they go under 2000kcal per day

building muscle requires calories, dumbass. you think that mass just magically appears from the muscle fairy while you sleep?

building muscle = calories

losing fat = caloric deficit.

Your body will repair muscles by bonding protein to microtears to form new muscle fibres. This process takes energy. This energy can be provided from fat if your body is in a state of ketosis. Hence, it's possible to both gain muscle and burn fat at the same time.

QED motherfucker.

Muscle uses energy, so it helps burn fat.
Burning fat first does not help gain muscle in any way.
