Hello people

I'm being working out for the past few months (did it wrong.. since was my first time and I made my own stupid routine). The thing is that I did what I could with 2kg dumbbells since that's all I had and couldn't afford a gym, still can't but I saved up for a better dumbbell set and now I'm going to buy it. So a couple of questions if you are so kind to answer:

1- Even if my routine was dumb and not-so-good I wasted a lot of time on things I could had done in a month or less, I got my body all toned up. I was skinny (not so skinny) which is why I started to work out, low self-esteem bla bla, now I see my toned body in the mirror my self esteem boosted up but I'm still skinny, I'm getting 10kg dumbbells now, will those help me get more muscle?

2- Is it true that push-ups are the best chest exercise?

3- Can you get more muscle by just adding more weight and less reps or do you need something else obligatory?

Thanks!

1 - compared to the 2kg dumbells, yes. but to add more muscle you'll want to constantly be lifting more weight for the same number of reps, so you increase the weight you can lift at least every week.
2 - no. bench press.
3 - more so again compared to doing the same thing over and over with 2kg dumbells. for maximum growth, you need to up your caloric intake by about 1000, and rest lots. gains are made in the kitchen, not in the gym.
