Flat stomach, no abs Anonymous
Hey /fit/,
Ok, right now I am pretty over weight.
5"1' and 120 lbs. The thing is, even at my lowest weight (about 103lbs) I still had a tummy 'bump' I guess you would call it. Pudge. Mostly because I have such a short midsection :(

Now that I am trying to lose weight purposely, is there a specific regimen that will make my stomach appear more flat WITHOUT giving me abs?

Why are women so afraid of muscle?

A lady that's fit and trim and happens to have muscle is sexy.

Unless you're a professional bodybuilder taking steroids and training every day all day you're not going to get very big simply because you are a woman. Shit, I'm bigger then some of the smaller professional women bodybuilders and I'm underweight.

Just how much fat did you have? A small amount will simply give you curves and will be very hard to lose anyway due, again, to your genitals.

And you probably won't get as flat as that picture, not only is it probably photoshopped but the position she's in makes her stomach a lot flatter then it would be otherwise.
Also, pics.

Without giving you abs? Ok, bad news sister, you already have abdomoinal muscles. Sorry to break it to ya, but its actually how you've been doing most of this standing, moving around studd that you've been doing.

Suprising, yeah.

You'd look better with some abs.

First of all, many guys (myself included) aren't attracted to the barbie doll 'perfect' girl appearance...what with the tall body and the perfectly skinny mid-section.

I actually hope my gf has a little tummy because I don't want an anorexic chick who'll rot my teeth out when we make out LOL

My advice: lose a few pounds if it will make you feel better, then learn to love yourself. Even if you somehow lost your tummy bump, you'd just find something else about yourself that you don't like.

OP: No. You can't spot reduce fat.

Honestly, you should at least try to acquire a basic knowledge of how the body works before you go on a fitness program. You get "abs" from having a low body fat so the muscles show through the skin. That's it. You don't get a six-pack from having ripped abs. And like I said before, it's impossible to lose fat just in your stomach. When you lose fat, you lose it everywhere on you body in equal ratios.

women are meant to have a little bit of extra fat around their lower stomach, it protects and insulates the reproductive organs

usually the people who DONT have the pudge are either 5'11 and very thin, or are sucking their stomach in.
