Protein Shakes Anonymous
Sup /fit/ I recently bought a protein powder to make milkshakes with. It says on the can that i should drink 2 every day...but i only workout every other day. My question is two fold. One, should i still drink them even if i dont work out on that day? and two, if i end up only drinking them on days i work out, in what order should i drink them? (I.e one in the morning before school, and then one after my afternoon workout, or just drink 2 after my afternoon workout)

100% whey only has about 20 grams of protein per serving...Mass XXX has like 50

Some asshole site I just went too says you should take it postworkout, before bed(slow release formula), take some if you wake up in the middle of the night, and right after you wake up.
That's Popeye site that says that.

okay, you got the mass triple x? you should do one an hour before your workout, and the other one about 30 minutes after your workout.
on the days you don't work out, only do one before bedtime (it'll help you put on more weight since you aren't going to work it off).

in my opinion, i'd grab the wheybolic extreme 60 from gnc, unless you're wanting to get really big.
i think the protein in the wheybolic is better quality than the mass xxx, myself, and if you really wanna get some meat on ya, go with muscletech's mass-tech. it gives you a little bit of creatine to increase your weight and muscle gain as well as more energy.

I normally, drink 1 - 2 100% Whey protein shakes during the day. First normally around 1 or 2pm
second near the time I go to sleep. For my post workout shake I go with Mass XXX. I also take 2 creatine 189 pills every day.

the 100% whey from gnc sucks, btw. it's a concentrate, so have fun flushing out 30% of that wondrous protein concentrate you're gulping down every day. that's why i said if you're gonna get a gnc brand, just get the wheybolic.

depends on if you've worked out that day or not.
and don't drink it right before bed, because the melatonin your body produces to make you sleepy slows the digestion process down, so maybe a couple hours before you fall asleep.
and if it's the mass xxx it'll be fine, or some other weight gainers will work, but don't do it with a protein formula that's not calorie dense.
