I remember when i started lifting weights at 14, the guy who owned the gym used to do these with 20 kg. I was so fucking impressed.
>> Anonymous
Ah fuck I need one of these. I have to use my hands for resistance or put a 10lb plate on my face to do these. Not even joking.

Good for martial artists.

Otherwise useless.. Your neck will get thicker without that thing.
>> Anonymous
Thats one way to fuck up your spine.
>> Anonymous
your neck won't get really bigger with that
lots of martial artist do it (nakmuay do it all the time to strenghten the neck muscle, usefull in the clinch)
and they don't have xbox hueg neck
just really strong and hard
>> Anonymous
Used it in boxing. You definitely want a strong neck. But just do wrestler's bridge exercises and you should be fine.

Nakmuayfag here. I actually use a weight hanging on a rope that I bite on. We have one of those head things like the OP has posted, but no one uses it.

Enjoy your fuxed up teeth and strong neck

/fit/ gives you the impression that every single exercise wrecks your body.

"Bench press? Enjoy your compressed spine!"

>>449850
Well isn't it true? Do it too much, do it incorrectly and you're fucked or am I wrong?
>> Anonymous
>>449855
truth, do any exercise wrong and it can/will fuck up somthing. The part that gets fucked up is most commonly a joint because of it being made out of softer tissue. Some people also just have a genetic predisposition to injury and will injure themselves after a certain point in their training, worse yet, you dont know if you are that kind of person untill you injuries start rolling in.

Or do it properly and be fine

thats why i advocate very few people to engage in very strong lifts or anything intense.

start small with calisthenics. then you can progress to weight, then months later progress to lifting heavier then months-years after that progress to complex lits and specific training methods.

But then again, maybe im just cautiois like that.

jesus fucking christ..i didnt even see him for a second because his body and head just melded into one..thats phenomenol.

I remember doing these when i boxed.

having a stronger neck would stop your head from whipping around when you got hit (so they told us). When your head whips around, your brain sloshes around, and you get KOed.

One old dude who was super hardcore would do a headstand in the corner, then take his hands off the ground, and do neck curls.

i almost called bullshit till i noticed you said "in the corner". i was gonna say...he did headstand curls unsupported in the middle of a fucking room lol?

i think working the neck is the type of exercise that people should do just for teh sake of doing even if they dont NEED to do it for a sport. you can prevent alot of common injuries by having a strong neck such as whiplash and sprains. It also helps to strengthen the upper bag and shoulder region.
