Does anyone else get really bad palpitations (strong heartbeat) after deadlifts? After doing 8 reps of only 155lbs, my heartrate goes up, and i can feel and hear my pulse on the right side of my neck. Could stress/anxiety possibly cause this? I do have a history of panic attacks that i've managed to get rid of with exercise, but i still have problems with anxiety.

Uhhhhh.... I thought that you were supposed to be able to feel your heartbeat like that with any intense exercise.

Mine beats really fucking hard though. Can you hear your heartbeat in your ear when you lift heavy?

Anxiety'll do it. With your history, I'd just write off the palpitations as a symptoms of your stress/anxiety. They aren't usually harmful.

I had bad bad bad anxiety about 3 years ago and this was definitely one of the symptoms that lingered, even when I felt stable and after I'd really turned my life around for the better.

Glad to hear i'm not the only one with these symptoms. I guess i'll just keep at it. I've come too far to quit :)

When I do dead lifts I sweat like no other. The other day I dead lifted 235 4 times and was pouring sweat.

Yes, I get that too. I sometimes get heart palpitations during extensive leg lifting. Also, I get nauseous afterwards when I work my legs.
