Alright, /fit/. I'm finally started this nonsense.

I woke up and ran a mile this morning. This is my first step towards a routine worthy of /fit/. I'm not trying to bulk, but I want to lose 30 pounds and tone up. I have a treadmill and free weights (10, 25, and 35 pounds).

Speeding up my metabolism is my first step. Lately I've only been eating one meal a day.

Help me out, /fit/. Where would you start here?

Pic sort of related (it's me).

what is the point of that photo? can only see 1% of your entire surface area, you could weigh anywhere between 150 and 300lbs.

Photo was just a space filler.

jesus christ, fatty, eat 6 small meals a day, join www.thedailyplate.com and track all exercise and eaten foods

Like you already acknowledged, one meal a day is just not going to cut it. You need to eat less, more frequently to get your metabolism working again.

Eat five or six small but frequent meals throughout the day. Eating around every two and a half hours rather than every five or six hours enables your body to take in nutrition more efficiently. Rather than overloading every few hours, you're giving it the amount it can handle.

Other than that, eat healthy, lift weights, do cardio and always get enough sleep. If you're feeling lazy, tell your body to shut the fuck up and train.

We all gotta start somewhere. Starting a fitness regime is difficult enough without being ridiculed. He knows he is out of shape, otherwise he would not have posted. He is willing to take measures to get into shape (unlike 70% of the population), so how about less criticism?

Low self-esteem/getting insulted = motivation to get better, you stupid shits. That's how I did it, and now I'm 140 pounds and no longer skinny fat at 5'9"

Protip: I seriously don't give a shit, internet superhero.

I'm here for advice, not your asshattery.

positive re-enforcement = fat people thinking they're fine the way they are and thus staying that way

negative re-enforcement = fat people losing weight and being self conscious for the rest of their life

To be honest, I think the time when I was fat was the happiest of my life.

I was definitely happier when I was fat.

Look up the 5K program. Do it. Get better and faster. I go to the gym every day a week, don't lift a thing, but run 30+ miles a week. Also, follow advice of upper /fit/izens.
