Hi there.

In 24 days, I'll be on my way to the army and to a tough first month. I'm in rather good shape, but the summer has taken its toll on me, and I am simply in need of tips and pointers to boost my endurance and stamina till that time.

I've been doing a short and nice program with 5x25 push-ups, 5x25 sit-ups and 3x4 hang-ups, alternating. Leaves my arms pretty numb, but I can't really "feel" the sit-ups, after a while my abs just stop working and fail. This happened today, and I blame it (rightfully, I assume) on last night's party.

This program also has a steady increase in number of reps and series that go over weeks, but any suggestions for more exercises or small changes would be appreciated.

I've also been doing some intervals. Shit was so fucking sweaty. Don't need much help with that, I suppose.

But right eating is probably what I lack. I have a bunch of moneys around and so can buy what I need. Just give me clues.

On Monday I'll start to really focus on training, instead of half-assing the whole deal and have a hell when I hit green. I'll have strength on day 1, intervals day 2, strength, intervals, strength, and some marching on day 6. Day 7's sleepy day. I'll probably throw in some running to combine with the strength training, as it's quick.

Just a final pointer, I'm not trying to build maximum strength, just make my muscles last longer. Lifting a jeep up from a ditch won't help me if I can't drag my wounded buddies for a long while (yes, medic).

Watch TV and do 50 push-ups and 50 sit-ups at every commercial break. That usually does the trick.

That'll have to be in the evening, after the morning work-out. But I really like the idea; I better watch more TV :P.

Try jumping rope. That's a good endurance building exercise.
3sets of 3min with 30 seconds of rest in between each interval.

This is a good suggestion. I box and do it myself as part of my conditioning, look into it, OP. Just get a hang on the rope, then put intensity at the right level for you.

Bump for tips on food. Not OP, but after the same thing.

Skipping ropes are for girls. Swimming, on the other hand, are for winners like Phelps.

Sleep is essential to getting stronger. You're going to have to really limit your partying if you want to get stronger.

OP here.

I've decided to more or less ditch drinking altogether for the next three weeks, and limit it to another two parties maximum. I don't have a job, so I can sleep for a long time each night. How many hours do you recommend, anything above 7 hours?

As you probably know, 8 hours is the recommended target. Another way to gauge it, though, is to see how you feel after sleep. If you feel unrested/groggy, and you can't blame it on another factor, then that means you're either sleeping too much or too little.
