I played college football and unfortunately stopped lifting after that from what I remember I was benching around 320 and squatting 580. I didn't power clean much considering I had horrible form whilst doing it, I think though my max was around 220?

even though u dont work legs, it still weird to see a squat max lower than a bench max

>> Anonymous
>>4476
How accurate is this supposed to be?
>> Anonymous
>>4493
I don't know. looks like they've used some formula from a research paper credited in the page. you might wanna check it out. The site itself if legit. I use it all the time.

>>4493

can someone explain what that calculator means.
>> Anonymous
>>4523
you basically put in the weight you can do a number of reps till failure. and then it will give you the max one rep.

Weight: 360 lbs

Bench: 260 lbs

Yeah...poor upper body strength. However, I've ALWAYS worked out my legs and lumbar (lower back/abs).

>>4780
deadly squat! what's your deadlift?

comparing your weight/squat to mine I should be doing 253. damn, that's my new target.
>> Anonymous
Weight: 150
Height: 6"
Bench: 225

Do I win for strength to weight ratio?

post your squat deadlift and overhead presses and we'll see lol

Bench: 355 Raw, no back brace or wrist supports.
Dead lift: 545 Back brace only, no suit.
Clean: 245 Raw.
Squat: 495 Back brace, and knee wraps.
If you don't believe me. I'd be more than happy to work out with you, if you happen to be in Los Angeles.

>>4780>That squat is godlike, high five dude.

I believe you, but where in LA? I'm in Hollywood and work out at Hollywood Gym on LaBrea.
>> Anonymous
>>4831
Deadlift is 295 lbs. My grip has been weak for years, so I can't lift much with my arms. However, I'm about to start a program to increase my grip strength. It's going to hurt...lots.

I should mention that I'm 26 and getting that high is NOT easy. If you want to get that high, the best advice I can give is to watch your form. Lots of people abandon leg stregnth exercises because they injure themselves or are not focusing on using the right muscles for the right lift. Trust your form and focus. Your legs have lots of stored glyco, so try to go to failure when you can (spotted and have safety rack).
>> Anonymous
>>4878
I don't do those exercises. I use dumbbells for shoulders. 85 or 90s max, but that's as high as my gym has.
>> Anonymous
lewlies.

ectomorph here~~

Squat: 250 x5
Dead: 315 x5
Bench...... 165 x3 :[

thanks for the advice. i'm 22, have been doing fitness since forever but only started doing free weights since a few months ago. I am fairly confident with my squat form, but slightly worried with the deadlift. I usually do weights barefeet. what are your thoughts on that (apart from the safety issues)
>> Anonymous
>>4922
I've worked out with shoes because hell...in all the gyms I've been in, that's been the rule. Some people go barefoot because they feel more comfortable in a more natural plant than with a shoe (adjusted arch, foot arch in front of shoe, etc.). I say to each their own. Everyone knows their own body mechanics better. Just watch your toes with those 45 plates!

i weigh 160 lbs.

bench: 235

i dont really squat, deadlift or clean that much because as a high jumper i can't really have bulky legs.

I work out at L.A. Fitness in the Marina on 13455 Maxella Avenue. The closest major street is Lincoln Blvd.

Yeah, La Brea isn't to far from me.
>> Anonymous
>>5003
but don't high jumpers need legs to jump high?
>> Anonymous
>>5003
You should do cleans, clean and jerks, and snatches. People with great jumping ability usually excel at those exercises.

Fuuuuck, you guys are depressing me. I'm just starting out and can bench like 110. How long did it take you to get where you're at?
>> Anonymous

nah, the best jumper in my state was a scrawny, lanky guy that jumped 6' 10"

his legs were literally the same thickness as my biceps and he looked like he never picked up a weight in his life.
