Hello /fit/.

I start my workout routine Monday. I'm not sure what I want to do yet. I'm not morbidly obese but I'm not exactly in shape either. I'm 5'9 at 250. I'm a bit active right now but not active enough to make any sort of difference. I am capable of physical activity.

I plan on spending two hours+ per day in the gym. One hour doing cardio and one hour (or until I can't go anymore depending on the day) lifting.

Sunday will be the last day for a long while my body intakes any sort of soda or fast food.

Is my plan sensible?

Start your routine now, OP.

Don't spend that much time at the gym. It's more about your diet than it is how much you workout.

If you're spending an hour doing cardio, you're not doing it hard enough. I try to limit myself to 30 minutes at a higher intensity.

Lifting takes me roughly 30 minutes to get all my muscle groups.

Thanks for the tip. So I should just do hard cardio for 30 minutes and then lifting for 30 minutes?

The diet is going to be the hardest part for me I think. I'm a fast-paced college student.

Breakfast is your biggest meal. Oats/eggs/grain cereal are some of my favorites. Eat a lot of them as your breakfast is your biggest meal.

Lunch can be a sandwich of some sort, along with some fruit.

Dinner should be lean meats such as fish or chicken breast.

Remember to have a HEALTHY snack between meals. Lots of fruits and vegetables as well.

It may be tough, depending on your schedule. Do try.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but yes.

You are morbidly obese.

My BMI is 36. Not morbidly obese but pretty damn close.
