I recently started growing a goatee again and was wondering, how many of you use straight or safety razors, as opposed to electric or disposable/cartridge types.

Any tips on where to get a good safety or straight razor would be handy as well.

I use a safety razor. I found it at an antique mall for $5.

Eh, if you don't mind having a tiny bit of stubble (and I mean a TINY bit), electric razors are infinitely more convenient, and they can't slice your fucking throat open if you're not careful.

I've tried various electric ones, they just rip the hair out of my face, but otherwise are nice.

i shave with a straight razor, takes longer to shave but (when it is sharp) gives an infinetly better shave

I've heard that. When did you start using a straight razor and how long did it take you to learn to use it?

learning to use the razor took under a week, its not as hard as everyone makes it out to be

what IS hard, is honing properly and learning to strop well

im still working on those.
