Sore throat Anonymous
Hey /fit/, I'm starting to get a cold. I can handle most of the symptoms without much problem, but the sore throat always gets to me. Know any ways to ease the pain or just kill it before it really sets in?

Drink a shit load of Orange juice, and then drink some (hot) tea to help soothe the throat. Also locate the throat lozenges that I'm sure you have and eat the fuck out of a few. Should be good in the morning.

Ghetto-sauna works wonders. Turn on hot shower, sit on your toilet and enjoy the warm humidity, soothes throats like nothing else.

Or get a heated humidifier, that works too.

Yeah, the acid in OJ always makes my sore throats way worse. I just try to eat soft foods hat won't irritate my throat combined with constantly sucking on a throat lozenge.

If it gets really bad I'll take a painkiller.

OP here, I failed at preventing it, now my throat hurts like a son of a bitch. Been drinking tea, which helps for a little while, but not for very long. I'm gonna go with>>39135's advice and take an Advil.

THROAT COAT TEA BY TRADITIONAL MEDICINALS
AND CEPACOL MOTHERFUCKER
DO YOU USE THEM

this was me; I take those two things constantly when performing in musicals; they're awesome for numbing throat pain when you've worked your voice too hard during singing and acting

Cepacol actually numbs your throat so you don't feel the pain. Throat coat is a tea with lemon in it that makes the throat feel better.

Also, hot water with lemon juice and honey in it is a recipe my medschool girlfriend uses all the time.

My colds always start with a sore throat, it's a pain in the ass.

Infact, my colds aren't usually sniffles. It's usually a cold-headache and a sore throat.

But if I feel it coming on I down a glass or two of orange juice and take a multi-vitamin and a vitamin C tablet.

Sorry to hear it's hit you though, OP.
In all honesty, go to bed. And I mean, for a ridiculous time. The last time I had a cold I just slept for most of the day and after that it started to go away.
