Sup fit

Why cant I train 2 or more consecutive days in a row? I keep on hearing that you cannot do this. If I do decide to do this, will my arms and muscles decrease in size? Help me /fit/

you need to give mucles time to recover, if you continuously work out without recovery time you get a lot less done

depends what type of training you are talking about, stamina then yes its fine, heavy weights then its fine to do so aslong as you are not training the same body part 2 days in a row, once a week is best

It depends on your body. I have always had a good natural recovery rate and I supplement it how I can. I take Cell Mass (yeah yeah) which has a lot of shit in it to help with muscle recovery. I consume a shit ton of protein, which also helps. I take vitamins drink tons of water.

If I feel good the next day and the muscles aren't sore, I've got no problem lifting the same body part again. I might deadlift 5 times a week, do leg press 7 times a week.

The only thing that I cant do 2 days in a row is squats, normally.

But think about it - do people run every day? Yes. Do people do sit ups or push ups every day? Yes. Do people do pull ups everyday? Yeah.

Clearly, lots of people work the same muscle groups day after day. As long as you feel good, you're good to go.

The reason is because when you lift it actually tears the muscle. And having a rest day allows the muscle to heal and get stronger. Without that rest day it would never have time to recover.

OP has never actually lifted. When you lift you know these things instinctively.

Muscles build during the rest period after a workout, not during.

If you can lift with the same muscle groups 2 consecutive days then chances are you are doing pussy lifts

if you do it right that shit should hurt like hell

It's possible to recover within a day. The secret is low rep, heavy weights, and no going to failure.
