Okay, I'm 20. When the fuck is the acne going to get off my fucking face.

I shower every day. I use soap. The only thing I haven't done is buy any specialized face care stuff because I don't think the majority of it actually works.

My face is actually in pain right now. Fuuuuuck.

Pic is not me.

See a dermatologist and get accutane.

Buy face wipes and use them every day. If all else fails, go see a dermatologist.

Use the face washes and medicines. They DO work.

Which ones?

I use Clean and Clear Morning Burst face wash and Persal Gel 10 (I think Nuetrogena)

They degrease well without drying me out.

If nothing else, try these for a few weeks before going to the heavy dermatologists medicines.

Anything with salacylic acid or benzoyl peroxide will work. According to my nephew who's had severe acne in the past, a lot of the more "facial scrub" stuff works better than the "facial wash" stuff for whatever reason.

Salicylic acid worked for me too. Just make sure you also use a non-clogging facial moisturizer with it to, as the stuff can dry your skin out.

forget soap.
Use a medical washing solution that won't fuck up your skin.
Ph 5.5 is required.
With soap you destroy your skin's acid shield and get MORE acne.

well i find that by washing face and hair every day(and shaving every other day) keeps me relatively acne-free.

The problem with products is that you have to use them for a long time to see if they are the one to totally clear your face. Then once it does, you're stuck on that medication for the rest of your life in some cases. Your skin becomes highly dependent on it.

I would first go to a derm and see if they have something for you that is a one-time thing. Not neccesarily accutane, theres other options. But accutane might not be so bad. Some people are cured after it and don't have to pay special attention to their face ever again, and to me that is a better solution. I'd put up with dry skin for some months to get rid of acne forever.

Then theres people who don't even get cured from that extreme and still have to use products to get it, and that really blows. But accutane almost always lessens their acne to a more manageable degree where they need minor daily maintenance to keep clear.

So, tl;dr Go see a fucking dermatologist.

I have acne problems as well. Start out with Clearasil or Oxypad wipes (the Clearasil ultra and Oxypads worked best for me, while the regular Clearasil increased my acne), and if you don't see improvements, go to a doctor. I used to be able to be fine with the pads, but then it just stopped working. =/

Generally, doctors start off with the weaker medications, and when you check in and it hasn't worked, they'll give you stronger ones.

This, also got to acne.org and follow the regimen to the letter. Accutane should be a last resort, but god damn does it work.
>> Anonymous
>>38409
Yes, it should be last resort, right. Use stuff like BPO and other skin "care" products instead and gradually destroy your skin that way. Bottom line is Accutane kills acne forever in most cases, other shit does NOT. Use BPO based medicines after Accutane for the odd zit that will show up every 5 weeks or so.

Also roffle@Clearasil.

this man is correct.
i had terrible acne when i was younger, hell, it was worse than OPs pic. after taking accutane for a few months, acne got worse, then dissappeared within 6 months of first use.
sure, i get pimples from time to time, but who doesn't. i'm just glad i didn't get scars from it.
>> OP
Thanks, thread. The dermatologist sounds like the best plan, and I'll make a big list of stuff to ask them about based on all the other suggestions.

I fap every night so that I can sleep easier.

do more squats and cardio

Some foods can cause it. Do you drink milk? Stop for a month or two and see it things clear up. Zinc also helps, I'd get those timed supplement capsules. Drink a half Zinc+C tab twice (morning and evening). Drink lots of water. Zinc creme can also help. Basically ZINC ZINC ZINC. Work out!

Also don't overdo it with washing, it's bad for the skin. Hot water too.

Well, it DOES raise your testosterone.
