Hello /fit/ I come today asking for advice. I am 18 and I am about 5'6" and wiegh around 112 pounds. I spent most of my life sitting on my ass doing nothing and I am surpised I am not fat but I doubt this will last much longer. Anyways im skinny and frail as hell and I want to start getting into shape before things turn for the worst. Problem is I need to start off doing really easy things and work my way up. Starting to hard might make me quit so any ideas on what I should do?

Core bodyweight exercises are a good foundation - Pressups, Pullups, Chinups, Dips, Crunches and bodyweight Squats, then after awhile you may find these are too easy and invest in some weights or a gym membership.

Then your flying,

Yeah, work on your flying once you've got bodyweight exercises down.

I'm about 5'11", when I was 16 I weighed about 60-65 kg and was happy at the time was alright at long distance running and 20 push-ups was about my max.

Trying to add muscle on my skinny frame didn't work much for me so I decided to add the weight first just generally eating more and doing a little more exercise like the odd run or two.

If you don't want to shock your system hopefully that'll work for you too - I found that I lost easily maintained abs and pecs and got slight manboobs so I then started weight training and have gone up to 87kg.

If your arms are twigs give them a little more meat then do something about it.

Squats and milk, do it now.

good luck to you. I'm in the same boat basically. 6' and 140lbs. twig arms/legs suck. sad thing is I'm strong for my size, just don't show it at all.

go slow. go very slow. you'll be in agony for a couple weeks if you don't, and you wont want to try again.

best advice I can possibly give is SQUATS, DEADLIFTS, and BENCHPRESS. do these with supervision as heavy as you can. The heavier you lift the more growth hormone your body produces which obviously is what makes you bigger. The best possible GH releasing exercise is reverse squats: have 2 spotters, one for each side of the bar, put on about 20% more than your max squat weight, then go down as slowly and controlled as possible. Once at the bottom have your spotters help you get back up. A study cited my mens health showed that this exercise increased GH release by over 1000%
