Over the past three years, I've gained roughly 40 pounds. This is due to a fucking huge intake of coca-cola (and I mean fucking huge).

If I simply cut coke and any other soft drinks from my diet and continue my lifestyle the way it currently is, will I lose weight?

halp /fit/.

Op here, it would probably help to mention that I'm currently 180 pounds, and fairly inactive.

How long would it take to lose, say, 20 pounds? I'm also going to be more active now. Will riding a stationary bike help lose weight? The other day it told me I burned 300 ~ calories, so if I continue doing this will it help at all?

I read some statistic somewhere that said you could lose 10 pounds a month simply by cutting out Coke and similar soft drinks. Then again, everyone's metabolism is different, so I can't say what that will do for you, but in theory you should be able to lose 20 pounds in less than two months depending on your workout routine and diet.

My metabolism has been able to endure on average 2 liters of coke a day for quite a while now, without me bloating up to the size of a truck.

hfcs affects your metabolism in a way that makes it significantly more prone to store as far than other sugars.

20 pounds, a month or two. Losing weight really isn't difficult, it generally happens pretty quick and painlessly for people under 30.

Stick to five meals per day, every three hours, maybe 350 calories per meal. Watch your sugar and fat intake, but don't be afraid to have a treat day once a month or so. Stick to your cardio, either walking, jogging or biking, and try to burn 300-500 calories per day.

Guarantee you'll be at 150 or less by summer's end. Shit only gets hard and requires dedication when you want good muscles. If you just want to be normal and healthy, but not in amazing shape, do what I said.

Jesusfuckingchrist.

That's a fuckton of soda. Be glad that all you gained was 40 pounds.

Yeah, I was thinking maybe you were a "can or two a day" guy, but given that revelation, I'd say it's a safe bet you could lose 15 in the course of a month by cutting out soda alone.

soda alone is not making you fat. If anything its just the intake of more calories and fat than you should ingest in a day.

simply start by riding that stationary bike for 20 mins a day and try to comsume 2000 calories or less a day and no more than 55 grams of fat.

soda is probably worse for your liver than anything. Typically your body can break down sugars using the kidneys, and liver, and blood flow, but soda uses high fructose corn syrup which is a more powerful, cheaper additive than cane sugar. only your liver can harness the power to break down the corn syrup, and even than it is difficult.

OP again, I remember hearing that if you drink a fuck ton of water it'll help you lose weight.

True or false?
>> ????????????????????????
I drank 2.4 ltrs of coke in a day along with subway and kfc.

Threw up the next day

really, it will help; think of it this way: 140 empty calories per can, and lets say you drink 5 per day; thats 255500 calories in a year.. while calories are burned off through select chemical processes and not all of that is stored as fat, you can see that this is a significant factor in weight gain

2 liters of coca cola a day is over 800 Calories per day; on the bright side, if you just stop drinking coca cola and start drinking water you should notice a difference in months

I was in a similar situation, i'm not kidding when i say that i used to drink 2-3litres a day for the last 6-7 years. I used to eat all kinds of fastfood and still, the worst i have ever been is 157lbs at 5.9ft.

A month ago i decided to start drinking nothing but water and eat healthier, i have never touched a soda since and i eat somewhat healthier but i still haven't noticed any difference, maybe it's because i was never really that big to begin with, i just had a little belly i wanted to get rid of.

Anyway, if you're way bigger than that i think it's fairly safe to say that you will notice a difference.

OP here again

I was just on that stationary bike for an hour (exactly an hour too, lolz) and it told me I pedaled 24.7 kilometers and burned 519 calories.

Is this good/bad/average?
