hey /fit/,

last week i seriously messed up my right knee running 10 miles 2 days in a row. I waited 3 days and stayed off it, and i tried running 5 yesterday with a knee brace on. I really don't want to stop running, but i'm going to have to.

what else can I do to lose fat (it even hurts to bike)

running doesn't really do much for weight loss. you burn more calories during a day just by being alive (even if you're bedridden) than if you ran for an hour or 2

fuckin lol'd. Yea, running a marathon doesn't really do much for weight loss, you burn more calories just living for 7 days.

Swimming is incredibly helpful, and can go a long way towards helping to strengthen your knees overall. It's also great a great cardio exercise.

The key to swimming (and running) is to work steadily towards your goal... running ten miles a day, for example. Your knees aren't built to withstand instantaneous bombardment like that. You've gotta build 'em up.

Good Luck!

I've been running 2.5 miles and walking 1.5 miles every three days for a couple of months and I've lost 30 pounds. I also eat disgustingly healthy.

Sorry, meant for that to say three days a week, not every three days.

my problem is that when i don't go out running, i feel so lazy and out of shape. So I'll be an idiot and go running on a bad knee, and my knee hurts like fuck afterwards, but boy i feel good about myself. I think i'm hooked on endorphins.
