Is it true I only need to work one muscle group per week e.g chest and core on monday, arms on wednesday, and legs on friday, in order to gain strength, power and muscle mass?

whatever you do, make sure you dont become one of the fags with a large chest and small arms. you need some weight behind your punches and also arms need to look big. also make sure you do legs at least once a week and abs almost everyday. cardio is also good. do 3 sets of 10

Oh, don't worry about that, I love working out my arms and those workouts are some of my favorites.
