ride more in a higher gear, your body can take a lot more than 14 miles, I like to take along a camelback, I can push well over 50 miles in about 4 hours including breaks and eating. and thats all on a fixed gear
but I ride about 5 miles a day, every day. and go on big trips every weekend, in all I ride about 100 miles a week.
but it's really the diet that counts, high complex carb/protien and low fat/dairy/red meat died should do you well, also a good multi-v
