I guarantee /fit/ doesn't squat enough.
SQUAT!
Want to lose weight? Squat, and squat big.
Want to gain weight? Squat and squat big.
Want to increase your running speed? Squat and squat big.

ATG squats. No sissy ass quarter squats. Go below parallel.
Who's with me?

people with flexible hamstrings

I guarantee you don't SQUATZ as much as me. You know why? You left out the Z, I can tell by that you lack dedication.

How many of you fools can squat double body weight?

305lbs @ 150lbs here
>> Maxwell
O.K. Let's get this thing done wtih already. I have things to do and barbells to lift.
>> Anonymous
I try to squat 3 days a week.
Body weight, weighted (bar or dumbells), and overhead.
Rotation changes every week.

I guarantee /fit/ does not overhead squat enough, which is by far the most eliteeee squat there is.

lol double body weight is basic shit fag
dont get cocky
>> Anonymous
More than double. 565 lbs at 220 lbs. Always below parallel, if you don't go below parallel be prepared for knee problems. (I'm not kidding, even though for some of you that might seem counter intuitive).
>> Anonymous
>>399962

My training weight is at 315 at 160 lbs. 1RM estimate is 362 lbs. 7 months of Starting Strength, and I only had to do a reset once, but it feels like another one is coming on.

>>399974

No, you are absolutely right.
Locking out at parallel puts way more torque on the knee than going below.
But at the same time noobs shouldn't go super heavy and try to go below until they are strong enough to move through the full range of motion.

>>399984
The front and back stabilizers in the knee are in equilibrium below parallel, so it basically takes knee problems out of the question.

Though I agree, if someone doesn't work their way up to perfect form, especially with an exercise like squats, they could get hurt anyways.

I can OH squat 215, which is meh

>>399974
>>399980

Nice squats!

squats don't do fucking shit. their just a stupid /fit/ meme. they are as good as any other thing, they don't have any magical properties. if you want t build core and leg strength, squats are a decent excersize. nothing more.
>> Anonymous
i got a 365lb box squat. but how many of you fuckers deadlift?? I recently got a 500lb sumo rack pull from my shin at 181lb.

Just shows you how fail lunges and your troll are.
>> Anonymous
>>399999

Lunges are great, but for mass and overall strength building the squat is superior.

The OH walking lunge is one of my favorite exercises, performed with a odd shaped object(a big fucking rock), barbell or dumbells.

Faggots don't know that squats are the best for everything.

405 raw at 181

Going for a 1rm deadlift tomorrow, aiming for 450

>>400004
Lungez > squatz.
Much more benefit and you don't waddle like a penguin.

>>400009

In regard to OP's original statements regarding:

1. Losing weight - Lunges > Squats
2. Gaining weight - Lunges < Squats
3. Increase running speed - Lunges > Squats

Lol wat. They're a piece of piss, the hardest (and I use the term loosely) thing is keeping your leg straight. Also just call them 1 legged squats like normal people.
