You know, he's talking about doing 36 situps a day and asking if he's going to get abs. I don't think he realizes how bad 500 calories in a day is for him...
To OP, just do situps/crunches/whatever until you can't anymore, and in an hour, do it again. When you get bored later do it again. If you don't wake up in the morning and can't lift yourself up out of your bed but have to roll off it, you know it's working. And eating 1500 calories a day will lose you more fat than eating sub-1000, and it also doesn't suck as much being hungry all day.
