Okay /fit/ here's the question. My work schedule doesn't permit me to go to a gym regularly due to working nights, and having an already physical job I don't want to end up totally wasted for my shift later that day. To add insult to injury my weekends are the only time I can be social, so that cuts those days out. Would you suggest I get some freeweights and start cycling (again) or just get a new job?

If you're in a physical job, you probably don't need alot of training to maintain a good physique.

How much free time do you have, gimme an example of your work week, pweez? :D

If you have a garage and a bike there is no reason to really go to the gym. The gym is full of machines, useless ones at best. The only real productive thing they have there is that big squat rack. The only thing you may have trouble with is the squats (who caer lulz) but if you invest in a really nice bench you may be able to solve that possible problem. Honestly though, bike or street running for cardio and a beefy olympic set will do you great justice. If you get a rubber covered or if you can afford it, encased and some mats you can go to town and be as loud as you want.

Is right, you really don't need all that shit.

Power rack, so if you stack on squats, you don't get smmushed.
Bench.
That's it, that's all I use at my gym anyways.

Oh, and chinups, but y'know, trees, horizontal poles, lots of substitutes.

OP here, I live in a small one-bedroom apartment, so anything involving a garage or benches is completely out of the question. Seeing as I work nights (and am posting at 0230) I try to sleep as much as I can during the day, giving me maybe 1-2.5 hours of free time before work, and maybe 2-3 free hours after work during my work week. I bake, so it's mostly all forearm/bicep/back from lifting and rounding dough.

If you can't do this then you have a few options:

24-Hour Gym + Time MGMT + Social Sacrifice
-or-
Adjustable Dumbbells -Bigger Strength Gains from BBell Work
-or-
Kettlebell + Cardio + Overall Strength + Busted Forearms - Time Trying to Learn Technique - Simple Workouts Til Then - "BB Gains"
-or-
Bodyweight Exercises and a walmart Pullup bar

The only problem with option A is that I don't have a car, and the closest 24 hour gym is a 1.5 hour walk :/

Thanks for the input guys, I didn't actually expect this much info.
