Tell that to the 50+ lbs I've lost doing cardio.
>> Anonymous
>>165568

That's from the strength required to do said cardio, lern 2 read.
>> Anonymous
>>165572

And cardio makes you UTILIZE that strengh, as opposed to sitting down and doing nothing.

Wanting something to be outlawed because you lack the strength of will to simply overlook it? That's a pretty AMERICAN sentiment you've got there.

ATTENTION NEWFAGS THE ARTICLE POSTED BY OP IS COMPLETE AND TOTAL BULLSHIT.
>> Anonymous
To be fair, cardio is pretty crappy, and HIIT is a much better option.

Although I can tell that article is shit because they recommend trying to get stronger while eating less.
>> Anonymous
>>166965

which is a great idea for a noob.

i did this with my girlfriend. she ate a it less than normal, i had her lifts weights and avoid cardio, she lost 5lbs and leaned out quite rapidly. and shes much stronger and looks sexy as hell now.

this article is mostly true, it doesn't address HIIT, which is a great alternative to train your heart and lungs, but HIIT is still not as good as old fashioned weight lifting. people who have lost 50lbs by doing plain cardio have just enough muscle to do the cardio and nothing else. thats not progress.

this article is fucking true and people who naysay are generally unfit people/ people who lost weight but are still weak peices of shit with no muscle

>people who have lost 50lbs by doing plain cardio have just enough muscle to do the cardio and nothing else. thats not progress.

PROTIP: Everyone has a different idea of what progress is for their personal goals. Faggot.

listen, if you are starting out, you CAN get stronger and gain muscle while eating a calorie restricted diet. too many people think they are all elite weightlifters and advanced as shit so they have to do every little trick in the book and follow every little rule.

if you are untrained. lifting weights will increase lean bodymass, metabolism, strength, and fat burning ability, along with train your cardiovascular system well. EVEN on a calorie restricted diet.

old school bodybuilders never did cardio, they just ate less and trained as hard as they could
>> Anonymous
>>166990
so if you had the choice between reaching you target weight with 15% bodyfat, or reaching that same weight with 8% bodyfat, with the same time invested, the difference only being cardio for the first, and liftng for the latter.

you would still choose cardio? thats just being stubborn and ignorant. its not like lifting weights takes more time out of your day, it actually takes less, and its much more fun. i think the main reason people dont lift is because they are intimidated and dont have the knowledge. both of which can be overcome by a little sucking it up and reading a little book called starting strength
>> Anonymous
i hate to be so biased for this article, but honestly the people against it have yet to give solid information aside from "cardio helped me lose weight" and "people who believe this are faggots"

losing weight is not the same as burning fat. you are simply catabolizing yourself down to a lower weight. you could have spent the same time lifting weights, reached you target goal and have been a bit stronger, more toned(ugh) leaner, and more confident.

it's a no brainer. go on tnation, there are tons of former fatties who went pure lifting, ate less calories, and leaned out while gaining strength at the same time.

i cant imagine why someone would want to purposely avoid being strong
>> Anonymous
guys, HIIT is great and all, but should be used as a supplement to lifting weights, done on off days, or days where you need your muscles to recover
>> Anonymous
>>167005

so why is there no more arguing against me?

do i really have to say that crap every single time a shitstorm from idiots happens because somebody posts that article?
>> Anonymous
Fuck you niggers. Some people prefer to do cardio over weights. I honestly can't stand faggots who say cardio is worthless and to only lift...
>> Anonymous
>>167063

okay, but dont argue that its a better choice, nobody is telling you not to do cardio.

but your side of the argument has come to a point, and that point is basically "shut up i like it" which is kinda of a cop out

How is it not better? As far as burning fat, cardio is the obvious winner. Lifting can gain muscle, yes, but you'd have to keep up a high caloric diet to build anything serious, and when you're wanting to lose fat, whats the point of that?
>> Anonymous
>>167069

why
>> Anonymous
>>167113
wrong, untrained individuals gain muscle and lose fat at the same time
>> Anonymous
ive been lurking here for some time now and i just have to say that
this article is fucking true and people who say it isnt are generally unfit fat fucks who lost weight but are still skinny pieces of shit with no muscle
this article is partly true, you burn about the same calories you do lifting then if you do some cardio. people who have lost 50lbs by doing plain cardio have just enough muscle to do the cardio and nothing else. thats not progress.

LSS cardio is only good for you if:
1.) You're a competitive runner
2.) You completely fat, and already have no muscle, so you can't lose any.
>> Anonymous
It's written by a woman, it's obviously bullshit.
>> Anonymous
>>167113
Yeah.

How are you supposed to cut calories and expect to both lose fat and gain muscle? I thought that's why they called one cutting and the other bulking, because of the difficulty of doing both simultaneously.
