Permanate Marks (on teeth) A concerned dental patient
Are there any dentistfags on here? I just got my braces off and it appears I have these white permanent marks on my bottom teeth (luckily not so much on the top, which are visible when I smile). Is there any way to remove them other than the 2 year long fluoride treatment (which I am currently taking), or is there something my dentist can do about it?

No. It was never prescribed until now.

So the only real option I'm seeing here for a quicker way is teeth whitening, and I've heard that makes them more noticeable/they're still noticeable even when the teeth are white (even though these marks are white as well?).

if you had your teeth whitened professionally, wouldn't they be able to work around the white marks or something?

Ok, I asked because you aren't supposed to use whitening toothpaste when you have the braces in. It will whiten everything around the braces and leave you with discolored stains on your teeth.

Sometimes marks can happen when the braces are removed or the type of cement they used left them

That's what I was thinking. Or, hell, whiten the white marks as well, so it's all one color. But I've heard other people say otherwise...I'm not sure =\

Frankly I'm not sure if it's cement or actual decay, because I can feel that they didn't remove all the cement (especially on the molars). Though I think it's the latter, because I had a cavity on my lower right canine not too long ago.

I had a orthodontist who died before he could finish up my braces stuff... then I went back to see the replacement ones and they were stupid fucks who thought that the glue used to attach the braces were big yellow ass stains on my teeth. Eventually they realized what it was and removed it... but fuck. I thought these fucks were supposed to know what they were doing.

its called "De-Calcification" its commone from not properly brushing your teeth when having braces, I had/have it. Veneers are the only way to fully get rid of it, that or have your doctor partially sand the front of your teeth and then fill them with white fillings, this will mean you can never whiten your teeth though because the fillings are dyed.
