Motivation Anonymous
hello /fit/, i have a problem. I'm terribly unmotivated to work out. I try to get out running 4 or 5 times a week, and lift weights 2-3 times a week. i want to increase that to running 6 or 7 days, and lifting for 4 or 5. My dilemma is that I can't bring myself to get into a routine, i always fall out of it after a few weeks due to lack of motivation. What do you do to motivate yourself? Do you work out with a friend? Should I try making some sort of weekly itinerary/checklist? I'm at a loss.

Here's what you do:

Turn off the god damn computer and go work out. Like the Nike slogan. Just do it. Don't go online tomorrow morning, go to the gym or go run.

fap, don't shower, eat tons of shitty food, drink tons of alcohol, smoke cigarettes

eventually you'll feel like total shit and exercise will feel so good that you will never stop

and you miss the point entirely. i never said i sit online all day (Though i guess you'd assume it, this being 4chan and all). "just do it" isn't exactly the help i was looking for, since that is teh base problem i'm trying to solve.

What is the reason you started working out in the first place? Just remember that. Most of my workouts are social, as in group classes, working out with my friend, hiking, etc.

learn to hate your body as it is now and remember how everyone must say you're fat behind your back. That's my tactic anyway, then I do 700-1000 crunches.

for running, commit to running a road race a month or two down the road. when Ive payed the entrance fee already I always find I'm motivated to go run.

Don't pause to think about it. Just get up, and do it. Don't make excuses either, like "in a few minutes". Just do it now.
