/fit/, how long should you wait before exercising after eating a protein heavy meal before a weight intensive workout? how long after? do you want more protein before or after?

you need something within the first couple hours or you'll lose any benefit.

10-20 grams of high quality protein is best within half an hour of a workout (tuna, cheese, milk, beans, shit like that) but a shake is almost as good if it's all that's there. Anything more than that isn't necessary.

After that, it doesn't make a whole lot of difference.

i just a big protein meal.. i figure it's til it feels like most of it's gone from your stomach to your intestines so you don't feel like you're gonna throw up from exercising.. i read somewhere that exercising directly after eating lowers the protein uptake or something too
