/fit/ how long does it take to get a six pack, on average?
>> bump Anonymous
Aw come on /fit/, somebody has to know.
>> Anonymous
One day for every pack.
>> Anonymous
depends on how many goats you're willing to sacrifice
>> Anonymous
it depends on how fast you can find it in the refrigerator isle and how many people are in line

Make sure he gets a proper six-pack too, or else things could get ugly.

Why the fuck do you want a six pack?

I do sit ups every day and I'd be pissed if my gut disappeared.

OP here. Thank you, and yes I am 20. I do see results as it looks like I have a stomach growing out of my stomach. But when I flex if looks good for a 4 pack.

You have to get your body fat to below 10% (typically). You also have to consider where you personally store fat [hips, ass, love handles, stomach, manboobs, apendages] This will all depend on the individual. Since you can't spot-lose fat, you'll have to eat properly and exercise like a motherfucka to get your bodyfat low enough. Pump up your water intake to 1 gallon a day, and up your cardio to 6 times a week. When you want to take photos to show how badass you are, take a small amount of deuretic 1 hour before doing ab workout. This will make you look ripped like a beast.

OP here. Do you do crunches or sit ups, and do divide them into sets or all at once?

Currently I'm doing two sets of 200 of crunches.
>> Anonymous
>>13505
OP once again. The body fat I figured but cardio? Damnit. This is there anything besides running that qualifys as cardio?
>> Anonymous
>>13507
just to let you know, I've found that I can get more out of doing sets of 15 than most can get out of 150. It's a matter of tensing as hard as you can the entire way up and down. But no one ever does this, they just think more is better. Well I got news for you fags...

Hells yeah man.

I browse 4chans on my laptop while I do light-medium (fat burning zone) on my exercise bike. Alternatively, you could catch up on a movie or some reading material while biking. Interval training is THE SHIT if you're lazy.
That's where you go go for 5 to 8 minutes at a normal pace, then 1 minute at a 'sprint' on the bike, then 3 minutes at normal, then 1 minute sprint, 2 minutes normal, 1 minute sprint, 1 minute normal, 1 minute sprint, 5 minutes cooldown. That gives you an extremely aerobic, as well as anaerobic, workout that will continue to burn fat for hours after you finish exercising (your legs will hate you for the first day).

Just gonna put OP in subject now. So how do you "tense" ur muscles as you say? Just flex it real hard and go slowly?
>> Anonymous
>>13509
ok i can tell your a fatfuck and have never lifted weights or anything if you dont know what cardio is

go run or jog or walk. other alts are to ride an exercise bike or swim fatty. jump rope just like ROCKY

and ur not gona see shit doing just crunches you gota do that preacher shit where u hold weight and turn and do crunches with weights etc
>> Anonymous
Swimming is good form or cardio.

See, now that is what I am talking about. I have to actually run/bike to places, and then come back! WTF?!

That bike thing is a brilliant idea, I'm gonna check that out.

I like how you made an assumption having never met me nor knowing what my physique is. Nice going.

I do weight lift and just wanted a clarification. Didn't know Sgt. Dricktroll was on patrol.

JUST BUY SOME BIGGER SHIRTS.

Hard contractions yet slow. But if you want faster results but have extra added pain after exercise, faster relaxation wound be your bet. If you can do circuit training of course.
>> Anonymous
OK.

Firstly, situps/crunches w/e work but are SLOOWWWWW

my advice is to get something like a pullup bar, and hang, and lift legs up 90 degrees. or, if too hard, pull knees to chest.

FAST crunches are useless, although i find i do lots + fast because it makes you feel like you have actually worked out. Slow, tense crunches are better. Another good thing is weighted crunches, as crunches with just your body weight wont get you that far quickly.

IF YOU ARE FAT AND TRY GO GET A 6 PACK, U WILL JUST GET FATTER!!
well not fatter, just bulgey. this is because you have the muscle underneath the fat, making it look like ther is more fat. BEFORE you work on 6pack, do cardio (running etc) to get down to a reasonable fat %.

good lucky young padawan.

I love this board.

So basically I gotta work my ass out to get rid of this body fat that I can see around my stomach and some at my sides.

THEN start working on the abs.

Also what else should I train? And how? Arms, pecs? You know, to not just be a pansy with abs.
>> Anonymous
>>13696
i would train shoulders, biceps + chest

that way you would look above average, without having to train EVERYTHING.

use dumbells for biceps, tense slow reps instead of fast ones.

for chest use a mixture of benchpress + free weights
for free weights like on a bench, with your arms out like a crucifix position, then slightly bend arms inwards + close so the dumbells almost touch.

for shoulders, best one is holding weights hanging down, then raise 90 degrees infront of you, and change from forwards + the same to the side.

REMEMBER:

fast + lots of reps : toneing + mass reduction
slow + less reps : muscle building.

for 6pack, eating is a BIG thing. make sure you drink lots of water, have more smaller meals instead of less big meals, and dont eat any SHIT.

>>13713
agreed but i would go for the whole arm tho
forearms biceps and triceps. you would not want melons on a stick if you work only on the biceps :P
>> Anonymous
>>13733
ok, then. best way for a whole arm workout i find is

punches whilst holding dumbells. work out a routine, make sure they even on both arms though. you'll probly find that one of your forearms is bigger than the other, (due to general use of one arm more than other + fapping), so try to work evenly.

for example, because my right arm is bigger than my left, i would do 10 reps for right, then maybe 14-17 for my left.
when you feel your arms are fairly even, you can use a benchpress bar to do arm reps, as you will be using both arms equally.

another good exercise i forgot to mention is pull ups. those are good for arms, although it can be hard to get motivation in doing a good amount of them. you'll probably find you struggle to do even 5 pullups. dont worry, just work up slowly.

a great way to do arms (requires discipline), put a pullup bar somewhere in your house (e.g. bedroom) and everytime you go through that door you have to do 5 pullups. its pretty good conditioning for the arms, and will help in motivation for other excises. working like that, giving your self little aims and tasks is a far easier way to manage exercise.

Body fat of 8%. Tada abs!

8-minute abs ftw!

Hitchhiker: You heard of this thing, the 8-Minute Abs?
Ted: Yeah, sure, 8-Minute Abs. Yeah, the excercise video.
Hitchhiker: Yeah, this is going to blow that right out of the water. Listen to this: 7... Minute... Abs.
Ted: Right. Yes. OK, all right. I see where you're going.
Hitchhiker: Think about it. You walk into a video store, you see 8-Minute Abs sittin' there, there's 7-Minute Abs right beside it. Which one are you gonna pick, man?
Ted: I would go for the 7.
Hitchhiker: Bingo, man, bingo. 7-Minute Abs. And we guarantee just as good a workout as the 8-minute folk.
Ted: You guarantee it? That's - how do you do that?
Hitchhiker: If you're not happy with the first 7 minutes, we're gonna send you the extra minute free. You see? That's it. That's our motto. That's where we're comin' from. That's from "A" to "B".
Ted: That's right. That's - that's good. That's good. Unless, of course, somebody comes up with 6-Minute Abs. Then you're in trouble, huh?
Hitchhiker: No! No, no, not 6! I said 7. Nobody's comin' up with 6. Who works out in 6 minutes? You won't even get your heart goin, not even a mouse on a wheel.
Ted: That - good point.
Hitchhiker: 7's the key number here. Think about it. 7-Elevens. 7 doors. 7, man, that's the number. 7 chipmunks twirlin' on a branch, eatin' lots of sunflowers on my uncle's ranch. You know that old children's tale from the sea. It's like you're dreamin' about Gorgonzola cheese when it's clearly Brie time, baby. Step into my office.
Ted: Why?
Hitchhiker: 'Cause you're fuckin' fired!
