Okay. My opinion is this: do you like your body? Do you feel confident? In my opinion, someone who thinks "chubby" women can be very, very sexy, size 10 is just about perfect. But, you have to have the confidence and style to pull it off. That's why it matters what YOU think. If you enjoy your body, I would suggest making sure to stay in the size 10 area. The other thing though, since your short, make sure your body has a shape to it, but not any bulges (curves are great; a fat ring or a belly pouch? No... lose weight). I know stores fluctuate very badly, but 12 to 14 to 16 is very, very easy to do. Make a goal to stay at a size 10. If you still don't like yourself, upgrade your goal. If your current boyfriend and you stop dating, and you want a change, upgrade your goals. Don't listen to too much on here, because in the real world (and especially away from the coasts if you are American), size 10 with a good fashion sense (knowing what looks good on you and how to pull it off) is hot. Just remember, it's a good place to be if you do want to change. It doesn't take too long to drop from a 10 to a 8 or 6 if you decide you want to be smaller.

If I were you, I would NOT set a goal to lose XX amount of weight. I'm make a simple plan to go walking every day (jogging if you enjoy it) and eat right. Yoga or (this is a really good idea) work on your flexibility. If you lose a little weight, you lose a little weight. It won't necessarily change your body, but it will make you look and feel better. If it does change your body, it will give you a little muscle tone/shape, which is what a lot of people desire. Drinking lots of water will help. A little bit of exercise will help. Even if you don't notice or you don't drop any sizes, the effort will make you look better to those around you. So, good luck OP. Ask yourself some questions first about what you really want.

Just get a healthier life style going. Don't eat fast food anymore, If you aren't drinking soda and eating very little sweets thats the only other area that could be the problem. When your out with people, eat something healthy like a deli cut sandwich with no condiments. Go for like a 30-60min walk every day and eventually progress to a run. You'll feel much better about yourself, its like a natural high. If your boyfriend truly loves you he'll help you along and may even join you.

To Sum it all up OP. The replies in this post are basically split down the middle. Half say your fine, half say you could lose some weight. Now its up to you, what do YOU think? If you want to lose weight do it for yourself and nobody else, if you're fine the way you are, then good day to you. If you think you eat alright and don't want to change that, that's fine. If you're not looking for serious gains or losses, then maybe just focusing on exercise would be good. However, I don't know what your actual eating habits are, but if you're eating within your basal metabolic rate (how many calories you burn per day), can maintain a single weight well (no gain/loss fluctuation), and focus on healthy proteins, vegetables, whole grains, fruits, and dairy at least a majority of the time... then I will agree you eat pretty well.

Exercises that would be good... First, find something you enjoy. That's going to be the key for your situation. Dancing is great! Even if you're just dancing in your room. Yoga would be good (like I said earlier... increased flexibility... yum!). Walking for at least 30 minutes is a GREAT goal for each day, and if you want to throw in some jogging/running for part of that time or all of it, then even better. Swimming is super fun if you are around a pool. And if you want to work on muscles, think of some simple bodyweight based exercises you can do, such as crunches or pushups, etc. etc. Buy a bike and go biking if you like that. Just make sure you're moving at least 30 minutes each day, and push yourself as hard as you want to. Just make sure it's stuff that you can keep coming back to.

Also, make sure to stretch AFTER every workout and give yourself some warm-up time for your muscles if you're going to go running or something. If I were you right now, just find things that you think is fun and go from there.
