What's your shampoo of choice, /fit/? I prefer Herbal Essences, others just don't seem as effective.

It really depends. I like Nioxin because it makes my hair super thick, but my real love is the Aveda products. They smell really good, do all sorts of amazing things for your hair, and are completely biodegradable.

American Crew is great. I gots the minty stuff. Feels good, and makes my hair feel better than any other brand. Salon brands really do whomp on anything you buy in the drug store. And you usually use less for same results, so it can be cheaper if you buy on sale.

Vinegar. Makes what little hair I leave on my head as smooth as peach fuzz.

That's because it's ACID. You're pouring acid over your hair. Which likely isn't going to be good for it in the long run. But for REALLY soft hair, try something stronger, like maybe some dilute hydrochloric. Just don't get it in your eyes!

Anything you can buy from a salon will usually dwarf anything from the shopping store.

Redken is okay but smells like chemicals to me, it does work though if you're using the right stuff for your hair type.

KMS smells good, and works well for many hair types.

Nioxin smells like mint and is AMAZING if you have thin hair and want to get some bulk to it. Its also great for men who are starting to lose some hair.

Aveda smells awesome, is biodegradable, all natural, and does incredibly amazing things for all hair types. My favorite product by them is the hair potion, its a powder that you sprinkle in your hair and gives you volume. Men will also like it because if you use it on short hair it sort of has the effect of a palmaid.
