Anyone had bronchoscopy? Is it painful? I've had a strange feeling in my trachea below the Adam's apple for a few months, plus a slight pressuring sensation on both sides of the trachea. A laryngologist took a good look at my throat, but he can't see that far inside it.

narcotics. You don't feel a thing cause you sleep.

I'm asking about when you only get painkillers, they don't always sedate you.

It feels like someone is shoving a tube down your nostrils/throat. Kinda like getting raped, but in the nostrils/throat, not the pooper.

I just had a bronchoscopy last week.
I'm sure the method of anaesthesia/sedation varies from clinic to clinic, but they gave me a moderate intravenous dose of Versed beforehand, and about all I can remember of the actual procedure is the initial weirdness of having a foreign object shoved down your throat/nostrils. It's not particularly painful, just weird.
Supposedly, some patients suffer a bad sore throat for a few days following a bronchoscopy but all I had was a slight tickle for a few hours.
