Dear /fit/,

I come here to ask for your advice. I used to be a humongous lardass. 6 feet tall and somewhere around 250 pounds. Changed my diet and been doing a fuckton of cardio. Currently I'm at 160 or so with ~16% BF. I think that my ideal weight would be 170-180 maybe. Obviously I'd like my BF% go lower than it is now. So should I keep doing cardio 'till I reach desirable BF% and then lift to build muscle mass or should I start lifting and eating like a lumberjack to build muscle mass and then do cardio again to lose the fat? Is there any advantages one way or the other? Which way is easier/faster? Also, I'm pretty satisfied with my lower body and I'd only like to improve the upper part. My calves and thighs are already OMGXBOXHUEG from being a fatfuck and running/biking, my upper body looks pretty disproportional to that.

Now, how about some advice, my respectable /fit/izens?

A shameless bump.
Really, /fit/, not one reply? Really?

just do both

from my experience, just lifting heavy ass weights and eat moderately. You'll lose weight slowly and still get to enjoy the occasional soda or pizza every week.

A dramatic change in diet will fail. Cardio is just all fail for you.

Dude, did you read what I wrote? I don't want to lose weight. I want to gain like 20 pounds. Muscle of course, not fat. So the question still stands. Would it be better to continue losing 'till I'm like at 8-10% BF and then start weight training or do I start weight training now, go up to 180 and then try to lose fat while keeping my weight at 180? Is it even possible to do that?

Thanks for the reply though.

Muscle first

my bad, i assume you're a fatty and stopped reading at "250 pounds"

Just lift really heavy weights, no or light cardio and eat in caloric excess, specifically more protein.

Heh, I suppose it's easy to get tunnel vision with all these weight loss threads popping up all the time. Used to be a fatty, but I just went "lol, fuck you guise, I need a change", took a weird ass job offer, packed my shit and went away.

On-topic: Ok, muscle first, got it. So I assume it's going to make the fat loss easier later?
What exercises can I do to build upper body without working my legs? Like I said, they're already XBOXHUEG and I just want my upper body to catch up. I suppose SQUATZ are out?
