I'm sure you guys get this post over 9000 times a day, but what's the best way to deal blackheads and acne? There's a million blackheads on my forehead because I put hair over it. Anything that can keep it extra protected or do I need to just find a new hair style?

Pic neither exactly related nor me.

When I exercise and sweat, my face clears up alot.
Maybe you should exercise too.
>> Anonymous
you could stop putting hair over it.

1. Go outside every day, at least once, and for longer than two minutes.
2. Drink a lot of orange juice.
3. Wash your face. Maybe two or three times a day, and not one right after the other. Find an acne soap/face wash that does best for you. It may take a while.
4. Buy blackhead strips from Walmart. They will yank the little bastards out if you do it right.

If all else fails, talk to your doctor. They know science.

i dont mean to sound rude but your forehead is reallly disgusting.

This is not an advertising pitch... but Proactiv actually works and doesn't leave your skin scarred for life.

The key is you MUST follow the directions religiously and be consistent in treatment. Most people don't do that and end-up wasting their $ on it. It's not cheap or easy... but it really does work.

Also - you can't expect perfect results overnight... it truly takes 4-6 weeks to begin looking much better.... and you'll likely not be 100% clear even with this kind of stuff until you're at least in your early or mid-20's... and shit... some people have acne in their 40's and can't help it!

Cut your hair. All the other solutions other anons said will work, but ultimately, as long as you have your hair and it rubs against your forehead, it will cause pimples.

yea, I heard it's pretty good, except that you're gonna have to keep on using it or else the acne will come back.

...to haunt you.
...until you get more proactive.

there is no permanent cure except changes in your body chemistry that usually (hopefully) come with age.

How do you do it right? I've been trying to use those to get the blackheads out from my nose area but it does not do crap, except hurt when i remove the strip.

First of all, you got to wash the area clean with soap and water and pat it dry, THEN spray on clean water to make the strips adhere.

Then you've got to wait until the strips dry really hard and stiff, like you're touching a plaster cast.

proactiv is for retards who believe Jessica Simpson actually used it and not accutane

that is all

Covering it with your hair makes it WORSE.
Use apricot scrub religiously [sp?].
It works fucking wonders.

For zits I use acne-free, works better for me than proactiv, for blackheads, that's why you have fingernails, it's the only real way to get rid of them.
>> Anonymous
Squeeze blackheads out, since they only stretch the pores if they're left alone.

For whiteheads squeeze if you want to or just let them dry up, either way they'll go away.

Anyway, OP here, like I said, if I have to cut my hair in a new style then I will, but if there was some sort of wash that protects during the day or some shit, I was kind of hoping for that. But I will get started with all your suggestions.

I can't believe I'm the first to say this, GET A BETTER FUCKING HAIRCUT THATS NOT RETARDED LOOKING.

pic isnt OP i've seen it before

first, the active ingredient in proactiv is benzoyl peroxide, you can buy creams with this at any chemists, the one i use is called Benzac AC and it works great
wash your face with a face wash called Phisohex, also from any chemist, contains Triclosan which destroys bacteria and doesnt dry your face out
use moisturiser at night, your skin will produce more sebum if your skin is dry, which is bad.

aside from roaccutaine, the best medication you can get in my experiance is Minomycin, works great and any doc should prescribe you it no worries

>>90791here, forgot to mention that sunlight really helps, and that benzac AC is a shitload cheaper than that jessica simpson shit

I know exactly what your going through. But some preliminary questions first...

Are you going through a lot of stress?
I'm guessing you're a teenager?
Did your parents have acne when they were teenagers?
Is your face sensitive?
Do you have combination skin? (oily and dry parts of the face)

I used to have a lot of acne when I was stressing out. DO NOT USE PROACTIVE, it over drys the skin. I have sensitive skin and I use DDF. I also exercise and drink LOTS of water. Also I started using a lot of enzyme masks which helped clear away the dead skin, which causes acne. (I use Murad fruit enzyme mask and MD alpha beta face peel)

BUT BOTTOM LINE... if you're a teenager raging full of hormones... it's expected. Otherwise you have to spend a lot of dough trying to figure out what products best suits your skin

1. Wash face with your favorite face-wash.
2. Apply a 2-5% benzoyl peroxide cream. 10% is too harsh. Apply generously.
3. Moisturize with an OIL-FREE moisturizer.
4. ?????????
5. Profit!

This one may sound obvious, but stop touching your face.
Everyone does it, a lot of the time is unintentional or subconscious -- thinking, resting, etc.

Change your pillow case weekly. Every night you rub your face up against the pillow you rest your head on. This rubs the oils, dirt etc into your face while you sleep. Over time all this grime builds up on your pillow and it just makes the problem worse.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isotretinoin is the fucking answer, used it for a while, felt like piss, depressed and shit - but no more acne since, has been 2 years now, soon 19. not a single spot. at it feels grrrrrrrreat

wtf is your hairstyle? unless your forehead is sprouting hair, bangs aren't going to cause forehead acne.

there's a bacteria responsible for most acne. go to your doctor for a prescription of tetracycline or something.

Get a facial. Seriously. They steam your face and use a tool to remove your blackheads.

Good luck finding a place that do guys without charging an arm.

I have oily skin and Proactiv burned the fuck out of it. It burned it and the last cream you put on made it greasyish, so I had a red greasy face. Yeah. DO NOT WANT.

This is what I do now:
Drink LOTS of water. Atleast 24oz.
Stop drinking soda and eating candy and greasy food.
In the morning and night, wash your face with Neutrogena face soap.
In the shower, use Biore blackhead unclogging scrub followed by St Ives facial scrub.

^ works for me

The last time I got a facial was about a year ago, never again though because it was so ridiculously painful
