I agree. I wouldn't recommend stairmaster, but it's worlds better than shit you see these days.

Like this one thing I saw. I can't remember the name of it, but it was two plastic discs. PLASTIC DISCS. Does anyone know what I'm talking about, or am I just retarded?
>> Anonymous
>>422286
stfu fat idiot, how about walking up and down your own stairs?

the shit capitalized on some true lack of ingenuity
>> Anonymous
I'm talking about gimmicks that aren't necessarily awful, yet you can either easily achieve the sort of exercise without having to spend money on the stupid fucking device.

Although feel free to add stuff that actually isn't even functional.
>> Anonymous
>>422289

Dunno about you, but I live in the suburbs, there's no staircases for miles, and even those ones are only a couple of floors. Then again, I wouldn't walk up stairs for exercise in a billion years.

Same here. You can find several flights of stairs in office buildings, but eventually security would go wtf and probably throw you out.

I wouldn't say they're so much a gimmick as they are just a different flavor of lifting. Also, they're fun to juggle.
>> Anonymous
>>422320
you fool! do you not realize what you've done!?!
>> Anonymous
>>422289

You could say that for pretty much everything in a gym though.

Why use a treadmill when you can run outside?
Why use a stationary bike when you can use a real bike?
Why lift weights when you can lift boulders?

It's just convenience.

I guess your right in some ways.
Free weights are much more logical then fucking boulders though since boulders don't have a set weight, might be impossible to grip, and unless you have a variety of boulders it be hard to progress.

Personally I think all you need is a football field to run at, a squat rack, barbell, and your own bodyweight.

architect here - and just letting you mis/fit/s know, stairmaster is different than regular stairs. The standard stairway according to most building codes has to have a max. rise of 7" and a min. run of 11"....thats alot easier than what the stairmaster offers...where the riser is taller than the tread is long...the angle of inclination is probably well over 45 degrees... making it very illegal if it was reproduced as a real stairway =x

/r/ will it take off shoop
>> Anonymous
>>422276

Dude, stairrmasters kick my ass. set it on intervals with a speed of 15 or 20 (20 being the max for teh machine) for 15 minutes before i run another mile afterwards.

it's awesome.

That just has got to be a troll.

I can see people thinking that this would in someway be a good form of exercise.

But I truly started rolling over the floor when they started working behind a computer with a fuckin chair that fuckin hulas. How the fuck are you supposed to work like that and who is still gonna take you seriously.

And I havn't even started talking about the presenting guy who looks weak and unfit as shit and the stupid song at the start.

Still, 8/10

Just a crunch I'm tripping balls over since I discovered it doing stronglifts.
Plus I can't handle bicycle crunches so I can't handle them.
