So, would anon recommend getting a membership with 24hour fitness? I'm looking into it, and probably am going to decide/purchase one today, but I wanted to make sure there were no horror stories or anything.

I'm prolly gonna get the all-club membership, without any personal trainers.

Hey, I just watched that episode of South Park last night at a friend's house. It was awesome.

Anyway, I've never been to a 24hourfitness, so I can't help you. But honestly, every 24hourfitness is going to be different, since they are managed by different people. Ask around and find out what people in your town think of your local 24hourfitness.

With lots of gyms, you can pay like 10 bucks and use the gym for the whole day. Expensive but it might be helpful for you. You could go there one day during a busy time and ask some of the people there what they think about it. Ask fit looking people since they probably go there more often.

As long as there are lots of free weights, a squat rack, and a treadmill/bike... go for it

Any episode with Professor Chaos is win.

Hrm... I think I'll end up joining. Quick question, though.

Is $87 for the initial fee and $28 each month after a good deal, or at least, a decent one?

i paid 100 initial and about 35 monthly and its not a 24 hour gym (but everything is in great shape). but at that price i dont see how you can go wrong

sup. About a week ago I got a $99 down + $25/month contract at my local Gold's Gym, even though I live in rock-throwing distance of a Bally's.

I went for Gold's mainly because of the 24-hour availability and because all the others seemed to be marketed more towards the Starbucks cardio crowd.

I've been going in after I get off work at 10 p.m. So far I really like it. They have a very large range of equipment and selection of freeweights and machines. It's pretty chill, I'm digging it so far.

I'd suggest getting on Yahoo! local or something and look up the gyms in your area and see if people have written reviews on them.

>>127719here. That cost is basically the same as what I got. They had two options which ended up costing the same overall, I just took the one with more down and less monthly.

Also includes access to all the Gold's in my area (there's one near where I work too).

for an all-gym membership, that's a pretty good deal. you can get lower monthly rates with long-term contracts, but that isn't always a good idea depending on budget and future plans...

Thanks, guys. Imma go sign up nao. I figure if I don't like this particular 24, since I'm getting the all-club one, I can just drive an extra 5 minutes to the next one. Or the next.

true dat, sir. the people who sign up at 24 hour fitness aren't as serious as the ones who sign up at Gold's Gym. The smith machine and power rack are almost never used. everyones on the cardio machines, mostly. (i have a membership at 24, but I got a great deal on it. 75 down 20 a month for a student special back when I was in high school.)

Also, I think it's pretty awesome if you go to a 24 outside of the country.
