So /fit/, I, unlike most of the people that post here am trying to gain weight.

I'm 6'2", 130 pounds, and have been for about 7 years. I've got hypothyroidism, so that makes it a bit harder to gain weight, although I am properly medicated. I've started going to the gym everyday with some friends for strength training in hopes of putting on some muscle, as well as upped my calorie and protein intake, although I'm not currently measuring either.

Suggestions welcome, thanks.

Actually, I see as many people trying to gain as trying to lose.

The answer is to eat 5/6 big meals a day, with a LOT of protein and carbs.

Your only real concern is to try to keep your intake healthy, other than that just eat beyond your heart's content (some literally have to push themselves to nausea in order to gain)

well, I just ate a whole pizza.

I smoke, does that have any effect on this? I'm attempting to quit pretty soon either way.

Smoking supposedly causes weight loss, though you might gain weight through withdrawal.

acceptable, I'd rather be underweight than die at 45 from lung cancer.

Wouldn't we all. But I think quitting will offer two-fold benefits, as you'll replace the comfort factor of the cigs with food. Most people in your situation need all the motivation to eat that they can get.

That's just so crazy it might work....I'll cut back and see if I instinctively eat more. Heck, I'll cut back anyhow.
