hey /fit/

How bad does drinking liquor fuck with you when you're trying to workout?

I've been working out every day, getting some nice results (for a skinny freak), but today I felt like shit and hit the Bourbon first thing after work. Now I feel guilty and plan to do my workout anyway, even if I'm piss drunk, but what affect will it have on my workout? Will it be pointless to work out tonight? Would it do more harm than good, or will it still be better than sitting on my ass tonight?

You'll probably drop weights on yourself.
Not to mention, you wont be able to lift shit because youll be drunk as fuck.

Working out will get the alcohol out of your system faster. It's an old trick used by drunked bastards.

Don't try anything you don't feel stable enough to handle. Bench press, dead lifts, and SQUATZ should be mulled over carefully.

Its okay to work out high but not drunk, better to relax and count it as a cheat day. Drink lots of water, rest, and kill it tomorrow.

At first you'll feel great, but you'll quickly run out of stamina. Additionally, as alcohol is a poison that resides in the bloodstream, working out will cause your muscles to absorb alcohol. This can lead to growth retardation.

Done it before, just don't do it heavy and youll be alright.Might not be the best idea ever, but ohwell

OP here

I guess my worry is that my body will be too busy getting rid of the alcohol that it wont be able to grow muscles, or worse, it'll destroy muscles. I know it dehydrates you pretty bad.

Just leave the workout to next day or skip it. Also dont start the workout in terrible hangover because it wont do good to your heart.
