Hello, /fit/.

I'm thinking of trying out for this year's swim team. I've done swimming in recent years, and I'd really like to do a school sport.

So for all the swimmers out there, what's stuff I need to know and is there anything I could do to prepare for it?

Some tips:
-Eat a whole fucking lot of carbs.
-Drink a fuckton of water. Soda is off limits.
-Invest in some good lotion, your skin will thank you for it.

You need to improve your stroke, your stamina, your familiarity with the water and your explosive power. Identify which particular stroke would fit into the teams lineup best, and train specifically for it. Don't dismiss the weights room, or the jogging track, as both are excellent methods to raise the all important stamina/Vo2 max combo. Examine your diet and modify it to give you the best nutrional input for your exercise load. Without other details thats the best I can do!
