Bed rest. I read somewhere that people in a full body cast can lose up to 40% of their muscle mass in under a month. Consider casting them thighs over the hip and knee, or, if you can't do that yourself, breaking your legs.

I find that sitting on my ass all day for a while helps.

I had the same problem from too much /fit/ (SQUATZ) that I started having difficulty fitting some of my pants ( fyi NOT skinny jeans)
