Sup /fit/. What's the best way to get rid of fat in the circled part of the pic? I been exercising for the past month and eating healthy to lose weight but that's the only part of the body that I haven't seen any progress on.

twisting situps to spot reduce the fat

There is no way to "target" body fat. To burn fat you need to do cardio.

But you can tone that specific part of the body by doing side crunchies.

Noob question. How does exercising that area help? I understand that if you develop muscle beneath the fat, it will help you look more defined. But does localized exercise also reduce fat in the area?

Yeah, I'm pretty fit but have love handles that seem to stick around.

That's probably just the place your body stores fat first. The only thing you can do is keep at it and don't do spot exercises if you want the area smaller because you'll just be building muscle under the fat and making it more noticeable.
