Hey /fit/, I'm pretty new to deadlifting, but I've been experimenting with using the neutral grip bar for deadlifting over the traditional bar.

From personal experience, any pros/cons to either? I feel like I can keep better form with the neutral grip.

use a mixed grip you pussy

He is talking neutral as in picture, fucking trap bar. Use a standard overhand grip with an olympic bar or mixed grip if your grip isn't strong enough (which is why you use mixed). Trap bars are for people who can't deadlift properly.

depends what your goals are. I say if you are just starting, go with lighter weight, using an overhand grip and concentrate hard on your form. the nuetral grip bar will help your target your traps. if you are trying to prioritize your traps right now then this is a good idea to give them some extra shock. the mixed grip is preferred for heavier poundages, such as a 1rm or 5x5 program. so, are you lifting for nueral adaptation or hypertrophy?

Much appreciated. This was the first time I used it, and I felt it, oddly enough, in my quads. I'll stick with the olympic.
