Dear /fit/,
Recently i've started to want to change my lifestyle of eating bad and sitting on my ass. Today i'm going out to do my usual food shopping, but i don't really know what to buy to start being healthy. Sure i know to get veggies, fruits, and make sure i get the protein... but more practically, what's a good list you can give me.

Any help is appreciated!

Buy: Chicken breasts.

Raw spinach.

Steel-cut oats (not instant oatmeal bullshit)

Eggs.

Tuna.

Black beans.

Apples.

Bananas.

Then come back home, lurk, and realize what a fucking tool you are for listening to someone on the internet.

Try fish. I buy a lot of tuna. Salmon is delicious for an occasional meal.

Yogurt is essential and fucking win.

Oatmeal is filling and versatile. I add cinnamon and sugar, or maple. Traditional is better than instant by far.

Go for fresh fruit over canned. Pineapples are good right now. Pick up some orange juice, bananas, and strawberries and make yourself an awesome smoothie for breakfast. Cherry tomatoes work good as finger food. Buy some stuff you can throw into a stir fry: Yellow squash, mushrooms, onions, zucchini.

Don't buy soda or shit drinks like gatorade etc. Buy water or drink water from the taps if you're a real man. Orange juice (most juices, really) is still a bit sugary for frequent consumption but it's not an empty calorie kind of deal.

Cutting the sugars you get from beverages out of your diet is one of the single most effective things you can do for your physical health.

Help that man eat that burger. He's not gonna do it on his own. You can start with the pickles. Pickles are healthy.

Just buy fruits and oatmeal and almonds.
