No carb cycle diets, a few days off carbs eating mainly fat and protien to go into a state of ketosis with plentiful excersize and then carbing back up.

Whats bad about this?

Inuits (eskimos) are constantly in a state of ketosis. They're cool with it right?

you aren't eating raw whale meat.

i think a better approach would be 30g of carbs from low GI sources like veggies and stuff on weekdays.

then on saturday get something like 300 - 400g of carbs.

start over.

the problem with low carb diets is they are fucking HARD, and theres that 2 week transition period where you feel like absolute hell.

unless you are a bodybuilder or something i dont think you need to do this. just train hard in the gym and eat right, keep your carbs low GI and under control

I think the whole point of it is that it is maintainable indefinitely. Have you ever read The Anabolic Solution (http://rapidshare.com/files/75292891/m.dipasquale-anabolic_solution_for_bb.pdf)? It is an interesting read and it will offer some insights as to what the diet really does.

The gist of it is that it stimulates all of your growth hormones in an attempt to naturally emulate the muscle building affects of anabolic steroids. It does this -- obviously -- without the side effects (no funny balls!).

He also says it is possible and healthy to permanently stay at <10% bf while under the diet, since you aren't depriving your body of fats. It is just getting rid of them on its own accord.
