Ok /fit/, I've got a challenge for you.

What is the best way to increase your possible running distance and endurance, without actually going for a run?

Can you do it?

I'd say doing squats for however long you plan on running. Squatting for 15 minutes will make running for 15 seem like nothing at all.

burpees?

squats with like 60kg for 100 reps or time would do it too, I was doing it with half that yesterday for time and the bar starts to slip off your back after about 3mins because of all the sweat. I lift naked.

Working up in intervals from say 3mins up to 10mins continuous with a relatively light weight would prob be much more intensive than a run.

However even with lightweight your form will go to shit, and the back will pain. SACRIFICE.

The whole idea behind Crossfit is that you can improve performance in a given activity without doing that activity all the time.

Within a certain limit of performance, you could drop your running times by training with weights, doing bodyweight work, working on rowers or bikes and/or swimming.

That's up to a certain point. After that, you gotta put in the miles.

Do some bike workouts. No, seriously. At least, that's what I remember seeing in an article on runnersworld.com
