Hey /fit/

I've been working out for the past 2 months and I've been feeling more and more depressed as I go on. Sometimes to the verge of just wanting to curl up and die in a ditch somewhere.

I thought getting fit was supposed to release endorphins? Why am I so unhappy?

My weight fluctuates.

12yo: 112 (from a 3rd world country)
14yo: 164 (came to the US and started eating healthy)
16yo: 170 (freaking out over weight)
18yo: 220 (started taking fenphen to lose weight)
20yo: 180 (lost weight and started working out)
22yo: 220 (over eating)
23yo: 250 (over eating)
24yo: 230 (restarting working out)

I'm currently 5'8" and i'm not sure what my body fat% is, but I'm pretty muscular under my fat. In fact, most of my fat are on my torso and head (lol fathead).

It's not like that. I love running. I actually love the act of working out.

I just feel extremely depressed when I'm not working out... Sometimes I do weights for an hour during the day, then jog for another hour at night.

I may have an eatinf disorder. Anytime I eat anything, I feel very guilty.

Not really. I've been drunk only twice in my life, and the only alcohol I used to drink was to taste. Microbrews and cordials.

Wish I could, but part of my self worth is the number of women I can maintain simultaneous open relationships with. I had more GFs before, but I started having less and less time for them as I focused on my health. My equilibrium is 2 GFs.

I eat fruits and veggies a lot, sometimes I throw in some meat in there.

I eat oatmeal in the mornings, a sandwich at noon, and a bowl of rice with something on top at night. If I ever even FEEL full, I get upset with myself.

Is there any way of dealing with my ED without having to go to a doctor? I'd feel emasculated if I had to admit it in real life.. and that may just throw me over the edge of my depression.

No purging. I've never actually gone on a fast or forced myself to throw up anything. I just have fat on my cheeks and neck, even if my shoulders and arms are starting to get definition.

My thoughts. You are insecure and scared of being unloved. You have two girlfriends because you have a unhealthy desire to be loved. These woman can't fulfill this need of yours, so you also turn to food.

Absolutely none of that is healthy, physically or mentally. Do either of your girlfriends even know that you are seeing another person?

I got over my depression by making my life suck less. But all I had to do was motivate myself, get in shape, clear up my acne, and make an effort with girls. However it sounds like you need professional help. You have two girlfriends because of your perception of self worth, which I think may also be linked to your eating disorder.

Yeah, and they're pretty ok with it. I have enough time to split bet ween the two of them. They don't hang out with me at the same time, though.

The feeling of being unloved could be true, too. At the risk of sounding like a pansy, I don't want to be alone because I'm fat or ugly... but it's not like I ever had any problems hooking up.

Yes. I get upset if I miss a scheduled day at the gym, but I really think you should see a psychiatrist, at least for one session if nothing else. Perfectly healthy people go to shrinks all the time.

Fitness doesn't get fun until you've been doing it for a while.

Like now I have a huge grin on my face when I'm benching 150LB like it's nothing. The muscles in my arms feel so good when they get tight from doing so much reps. Or when I'm outside doing my jog and I feel the urge to just sprint a quarter mile. It makes me feel good.

OP, you have to walk before you can run. Don't be discouraged.
