Who taught you how to squat? You don't rest the bar on your neck/shoulders. The bar should be on your back, resting on the trap muscles.

I've used it but found it took away the upper body workout, like without it I used my arms to push/hold the bar up so it's not digging into my traps and pushing on my spine so hard, with the manta my hands are on the bar for balance only.
