hi /fit/

I've got a problem with sweating way too fucking much around my underarms. I'm about 5'11 and 218lbs so I am overweight (trying to lose it at the moment). I was not always like this, but I can't really pinpoint the time that it started happening.

I've done a little reading about it on wiki and google but they didn't seem to mention being overweight as a cause.

Anyway my real question is: Should I just not worry about it and focus on losing weight, and if it continues after, then see the doctor? Or is there such little chance that my weight causes this that I should see a doctor now?

Talcum (or cornstarch) powder is your friend, OP; use it liberally.

losing weight may help, but i'm pretty certain sweating is something based on genetics. I'm 5'6" and 135, so i'm far from overweight or underweight, but i sweat like a montherfucker. Im guessing it's genetics so not much you can do except use antiperspirant and wear an undershirt

The problem is I don't remember sweating anywhere close to this when I was younger (I'm 21 atm and puberty hit me like a brick when I was 13-14..). I could wear light colored shirts with no problem before :(

How long would cornstarch last me (in hours) ? Antiperspirants do not work AT ALL :(

I'd give it half the day, assuming you're out all day - but it's better than nothing (and probably safer than talc).

try certain dri, it's had good comments from many people before you OP if your problem is more your body than just the fat. This isn't a deodorant by the way, your suppose to mix it with your regular deodorant shortly after a shower not right away.

2 things- antiperspirant deodorant and zinc. just make sure you dont try eating the antiperspirant

See a doctor. I'm assuming you are using deodorant that is anti-perspirant too, because not all are. (Speed Stick Aqua Sport Gel works great for me). If the weather permits wearing an undershirt (not a wifebeater, something with sleeves) will help.

Being fat does make you sweat more, but I'm assuming you want an immediate fix and you can't lose weight immediately. Doctors can give you weird powder and a plastic shirt you wear at night to infuse your pits with some chemical. That's the hardcore method that seems to always work.

Losing weight will help to some degree, but I doubt the weight alone brought this problem on. Could be hormones and shit.

i have this same problem, and i recently got it resolved. i had tried using certain dri, but my skin is sensitive and it itched like a mother fucker. went to the doc to see what he had to say... Botox. sounds retarded, but it has worked wonders. I used to get my shirts soaked, and now i dont sweat under my arms at all. its fucking amazing. a bit pricey, but see what the doc has got to say.

my underarms used to sweat fiendishly all through highschool, and I didn't know what the fuck was wrong with me, I just compensated it for it by changing my shirts alot, and wearing lots of undershirts/thick jackets etc to conceal it. and Deodorant did seriously nothing for me.

But I discovered one day, that if I applied copious amounts of regular strength deodorant at night before I went to sleep, and then put some on in the morning the next day, I was completely dry all fucking day. Been doing it ever since, is never a problem unless I run out of deodorant. What's odd is that it seems like after a few months of applying deodorant like this, I needed to use less and less of the stuff, and sometimes if I forget to put it on at night it doesn't really make a difference, whereas before forgetting one night would've meant I was fucked the next day.

wat. Do you not have a shower in the mornings??
>>188855
also, as you're finishing up in your morning shower, turn the water cold for a few minutes, seems obvious, but showers are pretty hot and you sweat a lot during and continue to sweat afterwards. I had your problem, kind of went away on its own. shit was fuckin embaressing, even when it snowed i'd have sweat patches.

I took a break from using antiperspirants everyday. a few days later, i started to sweat readily and quite a lot. what worked for me was to continue using an antiperspirant again, everyday. i think it sort of conditions your glands to not work and so you'll sweat less and less from the pits.

i've tried white stick types. they don't seem to work as good as gels (old spice red zone clear gel). one full twice per pit.

that's me. might be different for you.

i have used this. sure, it worked, my armpits didn't sweat at all, BUT, my feet sweated buckets, to compensate, i guess, and it smelled TERRIBLE. so now i just use regular deodorant and wear dark shirts. it's pretty hard to see the sweat patches.

The solution to your problem of sweating and being a fat fuck is going to the gym, working your ass off and eating healthy.

There is no easy solution. You are obese. Now motivate yourself and get to work.

sweating is very natural, not worry about it for the moment just aim for losing weight. sweating can be fixed by botox injections into the arm pit, but i wouldnt recomend this as you're fat, you need the swet to perform its function of cooling you down when you work out
>> Hitler
Lol @ the person who just said that boxtox injections could be a solution to solving the problem of sweating to much. Jesus fucking Christ, the man is obese, get to the god damn fucking gym.

I'm a bit overweight myself, and I was one of those people that rarely sweated. Then I started working out more regularly, and now I sweat like a pig at work. Did you start sweating more when you started working on cutting your flab?

Man up OP, I sweat like an animal when I'm working out, that's how you spread you're pheremones. I can tell the women are feeling it cause they make these funny faces and walk out quickly, probably going to shlick.

OP here, I've been "manning up" for a while now: eating healthy and regular daily exercise. However, it IS summer and I don't want to go out everyday wearing something black just to hide my sweat patches. I don't even know how much weight I have to lose before it stops. And considering all the reading I have done on it, there is a fair chance that it's not even weight related.
