hi fit. i shaved my pubic area yesterday.

i had a full mane of manly fur down there but i was sick of it. so i used my razor and some scissors. and shaved it smooth. Now i had done this before and let it grow out again and it got all irritated and itchy but i figured that was because i let it grow. i plan on keeping it shaved (less swamp balls). but im already getting red bumps and im sure ingrown hairs will follow. i rub moisturizer on it and i have some anti itch creme. but is there anything else i can do to stop it from getting red and itchy? pic unrelated

Take a shower, use warm water and soap it up, then immediately switch to cold water. Rinse the soap off with cold water, and it should close the pores with some tiny amounts of soap trapped inside.

get it waxed, it will take a while for the skin to get accustomed to shaving

this might be crazy but what about a "facial Mask" you know the "mud" maskes you use for acne because it clears out and shrinks pores. i have this mint julip mask i could put on it if it will help

Two words: BEARD TRIMMER
Doesn't get you silky-smooth, but does work wonders without the itch.

NEVER SHAVE AGAIN.

WAX.

But for now, put on some neosporin before bed. When you can finally stand it, start exfoliating with a GENTLE NON-SCENTED scrub whenever you shower. This'll help prevent ingrown hairs. When you're not using the neosporin, try and keep the area as dry as possible - baby powder after shower.

I used to get tho red and itchy areas after I shaved (my face) but since I started rubbing a few drops of Tea Tree Oil on the shaved area the redness is gone after a few hours. Tea Tree Oil is a natural disinfectant.

tea tree oil is estrogenic; stop it.

A disinfectant is for nonliving surfaces my friend. You are looking for an antiseptic sir.

I've been doing it for three years.
Key steps:

Do it in the bath or shower with HOT AS FUCK WATER to heat up the area and soften up the hairs. Wait till you're about to get out of the shower.

Use an exfoliate, or even swipe the area with a pumice stone (gently) before you actually shave to ensure that there's no dead skin left over.

Wait till you're ready to get out of the shower then shave with a new or next to new razor. Anything but that will pull the hair and ensure an ingrown.

Don't go against the grain till you're used to it, I do, but if you jump right in and do that it'll be a lot worse.

DON'T FUCKING GO OVER THE SAME AREA A MILLION TIMES TRYING TO REMOVE A HAIR!
Razorburn guaranteed this way.

Use tea leaf oil and a moisturizer immediately after.
DO NOT USE ANYTHING THAT CONTAINS ALCOHOL!

Always wash with the area with soap after you shave. And then wash again with soap after that. And then wash with soap one moar time.

This will prevent a LOT of itching and a LOT of red bumps. Or just wax

Also after you do shave run the area over with COLD water to close the pores.
