Hey /fit/, any tuna eaters out there? I've recently started getting into fish again (I was on like a 3 week streak of eating lean turkey and chicken breasts, so I started getting tired of poultry), so I'm now starting my routine with fish. So far, I'm getting into tuna, but its so bland, and I don't want to add any mayo or anything like that. For those eating canned tunas, what do you guys flavor it with? Discuss please. Pic related.

I usually eat a couple of tins a day, the only way to get round that dry fishy taste is to either buy it in oil, not water or brine, or to chug down water while eating it. Thats how i do it.

Dice a tomato and some oregano, mix with the tuna, drizzle with olive oil, mix in some barbecue sauce, toss it all together. I usually put this mixture on slices of a good baguette with a slice of cheese on top and broil it until melted and delicious. Or sometimes I just eat the mixture itself as a snack.

Watch out for that mercury poisoning :D

I usually just mix one can of tuna with 2 poached egg whites & tabasco sauce, or mix one can with onion and laughing cow extra light cheese.

Stop buying it in tins.

Buy tuna steak; it is full of a strong flavour and can be eaten raw.

I replaced protein drinks with tuna

For the tinned stuff you can make something that's basic but edible by mixing in either:
Vinegar
Salad Cream
Worcester Sauce
Soy Sauce

Any of those should work.

all of which, are not all that good for you. I would suggest just getting used to tinned tuna, you will get over it:

A lot of us drink only water now; and I've gotten used to bland food if it's for the win

i mix some dill relish in my tin

I have no trouble eating it straihgt from the tin. Tuna in oil makes me projectile vomit however.

Mercury poisoning?

You are a fuck. I think water is delicious and I have a whole cupboard full of seasonings and spices. You don't have to get used to bland food, you just need to know how to add flavor without adding unhealthy shit.

Motherfucking herbs and spices for the win OP. Experiment with many of them (esp. dills and roots) and see what you find tasty.

Everyone is in paranoia thinking if they eat tuna they get mercury poisoning. Its pretty funny to see people missing out on a cheap and good source of protein.
