Yes, actually, I HAVE eaten a few leg kicks. They hurt, but the same thing could be said for the great majority of strikes. A powerful, well-done leg kick will rarely end a fight on its own against an untrained fighter with tiny stick legs, much less against someone that's decent sized, angry and determined. Not to mention that if you're in a real fight (not a match) the pacing will probably such that you'll be unable to really throw them all that often, and it you do chances are that they'll come out awkward and weak.
A good Judo throw, on the other hand, will always hurt, even if done at 50% on a padded surface. As I said earlier, a good Judo throw on a hard surface will devastate. Heck, even an awkward, weak Judo throw on a hard surface will do more damage than a leg kick, and either way you'll end up in a dominant position from which you can submit them at leisure.
Oh, and Kyokushin > Muay Thai. If you don't know what Kyokushin is, it's pretty much Muay Thai. Just, oh, around 5 times more hardcore. No padding, full-contact sparring, 30-man kumites, ect. Like I said, Muay Thai is fine, but overrated. Western kickboxing, Sanda, Shotokan, ect, will work just as well, and Kyokushin will work better.
