You're going to overtrain. Pushups may not seem intense but the point of rest days is to rest. 100 pushup challenge is dumb, if you want to do something well do it a lot but don't burn out (go to failure). You won't improve your benchpress by benchpressing and doing pushups, choose one and stick with it. Can you do 15 pushups? do 12 every hour and a half for two weeks, test yourself on that friday or saturday, rest two days and either repeat or start bench pressing. REST DAYS ARE FOR REST UNDERSTAND THIS AND YOU WILL CONQUER STRENGTH TRAINING.

Alright, best bet is to go with pushups because even though your bench isn't great a bigger test of manliness is infact the pushups. Right now you will benefit more from doing pushups and clapping pushups atleast until you can do 40-50 pushups. You will notice some good carry over to the bench press if you do and you will be able to do pushups, too. If you just want numbers do it the way I said in my last post but if you want to mix it up you can do fingertip pushups, clapping pushups (your muscles will feel this), and knuckle pushups and just replace your workout. You can benefit from more endurance work this early in the game just for GPP and when you begin a more regimented strength training program you will have more of a foundation.

So you're saying drop the bench for now and stick to push ups?

If it helps i can do 8 push ups with a 10kg on my back would this be wise?
