So... When do I see some results, /fit/? I upped my dangerously low calorie intake of like 600 to 1200 after losing nothing for a week, and hearing that my metabolism was getting way too low. So, I raised it to 1200... With my specs, I think thats high enough for weight loss. I am 5'3.5", 152ish, and male. I was 196 in early January. I'm getting pretty sad that it's been stuck at 152 for so long, though, so like I asked before, when will I get some results again? My exercise is mainly jogging a little over 4.5 miles a day. I used to do a fatass version of HIIT (sprinting wasn't too fast, still got tired) on my treadmill, but since it broke, I don't really do it outside. But never mind that...

If you want to lose weight, build muscle. then you don't have to eat less than 1500 calories (which isn't natural for someone who is running as much as you...or anyone who does any regular running.)

your body is getting used to the exercise. you need to amp it up. according to prevention magazine, you need to cycle the intensity. get a couple of those 'bootcamp' type dvds and USE the things. this will keep your metabolism going.

As an underageb& shorty, you need to be eating to maybe grow a few more inches. You can diet in your twenties, with a few extra inches of height that will be crucial for luck with the ladies.

Your BMR is how much you burn just by being alive. What that number means is that if you literally laid in your bed all day and did nothing but stare at the ceiling, you would burn about 1700 calories. Obviously you move around and actually do stuff during the day, so you burn more than 1700.

You burn about 100 calories/mile ran, so you can add 450 calories at least on to that 1700.

Go cry somewhere else OP. If you had experience in any sort of fitness regimine, you would know that people hit plateaus. It can take weeks or months to break out of. Sometimes it takes a big change in diet or exercise. Don't come here, go to your school nurse for advise.

Do you want to loose weight or do you want to loose fat?
If you want to loose weight, stop eating and just wait for a few months. If you want to loose fat and gain muscle, start eating and lifting weights. Protein protein and protein. Eat a fucking stake after working out if you can. Don't forget to balance your diet though, greens are very important as well. Also be sure to check out 7chans /fit/'s FAQ , its a very good source for beginners.

Start lifting weights and eating more. Add some extra fruit, meat, veggies, healthy fats. Your weight might plateau for a while, but you'll put on some muscle and will make the fat come off easier when you switch back to that again.

Every diet + exercise system creates an adaptive response. Once your body is adapted, you need to move on.
