Glucose drinks. Anonymous
I've been using energy drinks like Lucozade before I go running. I'm trying to cut down my body fat %, but I was wondering whether or not these high sugar drinks will fuck me over? I mean, it's not fat per-se, but I'm no nutritionist.

It says 233 calories per bottle, which I burn anyway, but will it add instead of subtract to my body fat?

Thanks in advance.

You're welcome in advance.

You're trying to burn calories by running. Don't drink those calories right back. Makes no sense.

Drink water, for fuck sake. How hard is it to fill a glass with water, drink it, and repeat seven more times a day?

Dude, if I am running hard for any length of time, sugary bullshit in my stomach will make me feel like shit.

Protip: Eat food and then go for a hard run. How you feel will determine whether or not the food was high quality.

I do, too. A lot.

But I'm just talking as an energy boost. Y'see?

But I suppose if the calories I put in don't give me the juice to burn the calories I burn off, it's a little pointless.

Im curious as to anon's liquid use when exercising.

Most of the people I train with will drink Go or some other kind of energy drink whilst training. I've always felt that if you are depending on these kinds of drinks when training then you are undermining the possible development you could be making. If you then use these drinks on fight day/race day, you will have a noticeable boost.

Am I thinking correctly? Or do these energy drinks provide real aid to your system when training?

I'd say a fair percentage of it is subliminal. Stuff like Lucozade Sport/Go gives people the impression that they're going to perform 100% better with those, whereas they just give a caffiene/sugar boost.

The substance makes up about 40%, the other 60 is idiots believing it.

On a side note: Drink water only, OP.

If you have the mentality that you're going to perform much better by drinking an energy drink, you probably will, regardless of how much the drink is actually helping

It's the biggest placebo known to man. It's the same as drinking a cup of coffee with sugar, then jumping up and going HOOOAAH I'M GOING TO PERFORM BETTER FUCK YEAH ELECTROLYTES
