Hello /fit/, I"m 6'1 160 lb. I've been on a diet for a few months now, and just started about 2 and a half weeks ago doing a little cardio, and some lifting. I've been dieting for much longer then that however. I've lost at least 25+ pounds of fat, and have noticed a very sudden drop in how much weight I lose.

I think this is because I've slowed down my metabolism too much from eating hardly over 1000 calories a day, if even that.

My question is, will 10 or so days of eating my normal caloric intake (or most likely well above that since I'm going on vacation) allow me to get my metabolism back to normal, and let me start my diet over so I can lose these last few pounds of fat?

P.S.
How do I get better ab definition, other then weight loss and sit-ups. I've been told I do sit-ups correctly, but due to past neck and back injuries they still hurt more then anything ever.

Thank you /fit/

They look kinda fake and gross. I'm sure that man trained hard for those, but I'd hate to have them.

man dont ever eat that little ever again , that is what is causing you to lose wieght so slowly. need food NEED DAMN IT. i have an obese fat dealer friend who is lazy and eats once a day usually and went a solid year of eating bread and has eaten in such a horrific manner for 3 years, yet he remains fat. the lack of food is making you all broken, have a burger once in a while seriously. and some bacon. if your not going hardcore you dont need to stress over diet too much , but you definitly need to eat more to gain muscle weight , for that wieght to eat away your fat weight.

The abs are possibly digitally altered. Magazines do it often.

try doing sit ups where you do your left elbow to your right knee and vice versa, these bring out your sides more complementing your abs and will work your abs in a different way making them more defined. also if your noticing less weigt loss you could already be putting on muscle poundage but god damn it eat more no matter what

Finally someone with an actual reply.
Will going way off my diet be good for me? I'm ok with gaining a couple pounds from it, just so long as I can healthily loose them later.

what the fuck, moron, 1000 calories a day? you're breaking down muscle, and lots of it. 160 lbs for 6 feet is at least 20 lbs underweight.

I don't know about you specifically, but I'm 6'2 and about 165, and I'm still thin as all hell. So it might be that you don't have that much more fat to lose, but that you simply don't have enough muscle to have the definition that you want. If that is the case (which it might not be) then I suggest you start eating more and just hitting the gym more often.

i seriously doubt it will have any negative effects, healthy eating is around 2000 calories , if you do some sit ups and pressups on holiday youll continue the burn. i lost a lot of fat through putting on a small amount of muscle and gentle cardio , no diet whatsoever , if youve got the drive to eat that little i suggest you funnel a part of your concentration on researching a bit more about exercise. 6'1 at 160 doesnt sound too bad, i said to some other guy on here dont rely on your scales too much, if you can see less fat thats good, if you can see muscle growing thats good but muscle is weight also

I was a hermit in my room for years, I had NO muscle at all, it was all fat. I now have a little, but there is still some fat I want to get rid of. I don't mind weighing 180, it's just that when there is no muscle with it, thats bad.

Thanks, but I still have fat, I'm sure of it. It's a very very little amount though. I can feel my ab muscles, they are hard and everything, so I'm certain that there would be some definition if I just didn't have the fat in the way.

Thank you, I don't rely on my scales too much. I try to do about an hour of cardio a day, 40 minutes of steep up-hill walking, and 20 minutes of jogging and random stuff I tend to do throughout the day.

I lift for about 40 minutes also, and have noticed very nice results over that, and it's very rewarding to know that I've made progress. I understand that muscle > fat, but I can still visibly see that little chubby stomach of fat, that I want to get rid of. As I've said it's the smallest thing, but I still haven't been able to get it gone.

Take some steroids. They help raise your appetite immensely. Try anavar. It's not that bad for you and it makes your hunger levels go through the roof
