Greetings /fit/. I'm 6'0'', 155, age 19.

Lately I've been getting very into climbing. All sorts...mountaineering, rock climbing, and I'm getting interested in big wall rock climbing.

ITT: exercises for climbers to improve strength that don't involve bulking up the way squatz or deadlifts do.

Stop being such a faggot and do REAL strength exercises

Lots of pullups and gymnastics moves(front lever, back lever, muscle up, etc.)

OP here...

squats, deadlifts, military press, bench press "real" strength exercises build slow-twitch muscle fibers. I want medium twitch.

I'm not too far from a good front lever, and I'll look up back lever and muscle-ups. Any more would be appreciated.

no, they dont. also, there's no such thing as medium twitch fibers. also, as a climber, you want slow twitch, because you need a lot of endurance.

still, i wouldnt bother lifting weights if you wanna get really good at climbing.

This man speaks the truth. You need slow twitch. There isn't a thing called medium twitch.

Work on hand grip exercises too. Do pushups on your fingers trust me, I'm a doctor. If you don't want to get big just don't eat a lot, the working out will make you stronger still.
