umm, swimming is quite easy. Just get in a pool somewhere, go into the water while holding onto the edge. I'd say first try out going underwater holding your breath, then let go of the edge to realise that you're not going down... Then push the water down to get your head above the surface and you're done.. you're swimming. hurray. Just look at others swimming to see how the techniques work, breast is the easiest imo so go for that when you feel comfortable. To swim fast/long, you require lots of training like most other people, so don't get frustrated if you don't initially. Go to a swimming club if you intend to get good at swimming, but I warn you, it will be very tiresome.
