Sup /fit/, fatass here.
The bowflex I ordered just arrived. I was reading the instructions and it says I can get in shape with just 15 mins a day, which is a good thing because my neck and back start to get really sore if I do too much excercise.
what excercises would you /fit/fucks recommened a beginner like me?

im 5'10", 250lbs (give or take a few). ive never really worked out. i dont really wanna look like the guy in the pic, because hes too muscular, and thats gross. also, n dieting tips please, i have a low income (saved for ages for the bowflex) so i can only afford stuff like mac n cheese and ramon soup.

K if you're a troll, I'm gonna bite because if you ARENT a troll (the off chance) you could fuck yourself up.

Do NOT use the bowflex, send it back and receive your money before the 30 days and cancel your SUBSCRIPTION.

As for excercise, buy a bike or a gym membership. Start off with a light cardio routine with no weights for about a month. Work to acheive about 300-400 calorie defecit every time you workout and workout about 4-5 times a week (every day also works if you are motivated).

After you are 'used' to what excercise takes, start talking to a personal trainer at a local gym.. It is their job and they love getting people into shape. Do NOT and i repeat, DO NOT ask fit for serious fitness advice, you will get lots of trolls and bullshit mixed with one or two good replies. Also, break your addiction to 4chan/dont eat ramen its full of sodium and fat.

cheers

Sigh... I'm assuming you can't return that thing without paying for ridiculous shipping and handling fees, right? Even then it might be worth it and take the loss and get a gym membership instead.

Expecting to get a "Bowflex Body" in 15 mins a day is horseshit. That model you see in the pic? Let me tell you a secret... he didn't get it by working out on a Bowflex 15 mins a day. And just so you don't say something dumb like saying that guy is too muscular and that's gross, understand this. You couldn't possible fathom just how much effort, dedication, sweat, tears, blood, and straight up discipline it took that guy to achieve his muscular body. It takes longer, you have to work harder, and the reward of getting such a body is greater than you can ever imagine. It's been said here over and over, and I'll say it again. ANY pencil-thin jackass and fat-ass in here would not complain THE SLIGHTEST if they were magically rewarded with such a body. Thankfully, the world doesn't work that way, and you have to earn it. And boy, does it take a lot to fucking earn it.

continued

Ok, back to making the best out of this. I'm gonna assume you can at least do most rudimentary weight lifting exercises on it. Do Mon/Tues Thurs/Friday split, or do a Mon/Wed/Fri split if that's better. A variation of the above will also do, depending on your schedule.

Now I'm just giving you a SAMPLE WORKOUT PLAN. Nothing definite, not the last one or the best one you'll ever do. One that I've thought of just off the top of my head and that I've tried before with good results. You should always be switching up workout plans and exercises every 6-8 weeks anyway (and less for serious lifters, again depending on what you want/need)For the four day split, try having a Chest/back split first day, Quad dominant leg workout second day, Arms/upper chest/shoulder/abs third day, and for the last day do a hip dominant leg+ single leg workout day. I'm not incredibly familiar with a Bowflex and I sure as fuck don't plan on being proficient on one, but I think you should be able to make do.

Motivate yourself to learn the following on your own: Research exercises you'll need. Don't overtrain. Eat properly. Rest properly.

Hope that helped you somewhat, OP.

Look, the Bowflex probably came with a DVD or video tape showing you a workout. Do it. If not that, it comes with a pamphlet or poster listing many of the workouts you can do on it. Choose one for each part of the body, do a light warm up set and then 3 sets of 8-12 to failure on each workout (with about a minute's rest in between sets). Also try to make each set last at least 40 seconds; i.e., don't do them fast. Done and done.
