Protein Shakes Anonymous
I'm a noob with some questions.

1. Are they only for pros or long time gym goers?
2. Are they ok as a snack, or should they just be for workouts?
3. Are they all roughly the same, because the price varies a lot and I'm a tight ass.
4. Any other tips?

1. Anyone can drink them beginners included
2. Yes but I'd recommend you try to eat protein rich food for snacks instead, ultimately shakes are a supplement and real food is always better if you can get it
3. Of course price -usually- depends on the amount of protein per serving, shop around
4. Get vanilla flavor, it's the best

Hmm, I'm debating whether I really need it, does too much protein result in fat gain? How beneficial to muscle growth are these shakes?

Why is this? What makes protein shakes not "real food"? Is this an actual fact, or some "common sense" thing? Are they're studies that have been done that prove protein shakes are inferior to solid food? I ask because, as I have no time to prepare food and often have to eat on the go, I sometimes subsist entirely on protein shakes for a full day.
