Soda Anonymous
How bad is soda for me? I'm not trying to lose wait, I'm a skinny fuck working on building muscles.

I drink one a day with lunch, usually a Pepsi or a 7 up. Not diet or anything.

Other than that, I get a well balanced meal, lots of fruit, veggies, bread products (pasta, oatmeal, etc.)

tl;dr skinny trying to build muscle, drink one soda (sometimes 2-3 or rare occasions) a day, live a healthy lifestyle otherwise. how bad is it for me?

coke is probably the emptiest calories out there. Hell, even chocolate bars have some protein and fiber.

Drink water or a diet soft drink instead. I'd save the diet coke with your dinner, though.

I bet I can stay here and tell you that soda is bad for you, but in the end you'll still drink soda.

Just drink water, it's no big deal.

Even balancing out your diet to accommodate it won't work. I myself am not against one every once in awhile, but in the long run it'll cripple you.

I actually drank alot of soda, and when I joined Airforce ROTC, everyone kept telling me "Stop drinking soda!"
And I thought "why? it's tasty"
But I would fail hard on our runs, so I quit soda, and drank water.
Now I can run forever, and I feel gooooooood.

Calories aren't the problem with soda. The acidity is fucking awful for your teeth regardless of the soda. Then you've got all the refined sugars in regular soda, which are bad. Diet is probably worse, as aspartame has been conclusively linked to blood disorders.

Bottom line, soda is terrible for you.

People who drink diet soda even gain weight from drinking it, as the artificial sweeteners trick your body into thinking you're consuming sugar (most people who drink diet soda tend to drink more soda because its "guilt free").

I know a person who drank 1 can a day, and stopped completely, and lost 20 pounds. I stopped drinking soda (2 cans a day) and lost about 6 pounds. Soda really is bad, no matter how you look at it.
