I've always used a regular shaving razor, but I'm considering investing in a good electric one. What are the pros and cons of electric razors, or does it matter?

Pic is the first thing that came up in google, I use disposable bic razors.

How exactly do they work? Never used an electric shaver, i just assume that its sanding down your face since the blades cant be that sharp given that they rotate.

Well I don't mind the shaggy look so I shave once every three days. But its such a pain in the ass. Would electric shaving every day be easier than regular shaving once every three days?

I don't think so. When I see people using them they spend a lot of time moving their razor about. I mean unless you cut yourself with normal shaving razors then I see no reason to switch. Have you ever tried shaving while under the hot stream of water from your shower? That made things quicker for me.

Do you have a mirror in there or go by instinct?

I touch my face, shave, retouch the area, shave again, move on to another area, etc. Then when I get out I assess the job in the mirror and do any finishing touches.

Electric shavers can give you as close a shave if you get an expensive brand and use it every day.

My face is really sensitive and I get ingrown hairs easily, so I can't use an electric shaver
and regular shaving razors are just as bad for me.

Then I bought a beard and mustache trimmer, I use it without any of the spacers. It won't win you any smooth face competitions, but depending on the brand, and your hair color, you'll look clean shaven from a distance.

i have really dark hair and very light skin, even smooth shaven you can still see the hair through the skin, so cant win to be fair

Sounds like you shouldn't worry about shaving as close as possible. Try a beard and mustache trimmer or get a cheap hair cutting kit from the drug store and use the electric trimmer without a spacer, since they're practically the same thing.

Fogot to add, I only have a beard and mustache trimmer as opposed to a hair cutting kit because it was on clearence for $12.

I have a norelco with the nivea gel shit, I like the electric because it doesn't cut as close as a razor. I like to have some grit.
