Hey /fit/, anyone ever had an earache that resulted in some form of hearing loss?

I got an earache a few days ago. It started with ringing, then turned to pain. The pain was gone for almost a whole day, then came back yesterday while I was at work. I just slept for a few hours because the pain was annoying me, and when I woke up, I couldn't hear out of that ear.

I'm just wondering if this is temporary or permanent and if there is anything I can do about it. I know this board isn't my personal doctor, but I thought maybe someone had experienced this. I'd love to go see a real one, but I just can't afford it.

Any and all help welcome.

Maybe you have a beetle in your ear?

I am prone to ear infections. I get them every six months or so. They suck ass.

It will quite possibly get much worse, and you will wish you were dead. It will go away on its own. Slowly. Unless you visit the doctor for an antibiotic ointment.

Stop putting things in your ear.

Well, the pain is all but gone. The only time it really hurts now is when I apply pressure to it, which I'm obviously not doing.

The hearing loss is what has me concerned.
