Dear /fit/!

I recently start to work out again ater several years of zero workout. I found out when I really tsrat to push myself I get this dry strong coughing reaction almost like I m throwing up and I cough up somesort of mucus I dunno what and I need to go a sink and spit it out. There is nothing frightening about it no blood or anyhing (thank god) and it has no taste at all. When this happens I get sharp pain under my ribs for about half a minute and I need to sit down but after that it goes away. However when I start to work out again it comes back almost immedietly but only the pai nis more severe and I feel like throwing up more. Note that I never actually threw up anything I ate but this is getting very annyoing and troublesome that I keep ghave to be near a sink or somsort of washplace.

Is this normal or should I see a doctor?

sounds like poor mouthbreathing technique is drying your throat and causing the dry cough and you're spitting up mucus to coat the throat. I'd say it's normal.

What if your nose is stuffy?

i'd say it's normal, especially if you're just starting to work out again. i get the same thing when i run and it's cold out. if it really bothers you, don't push yourself as hard and work your way up; but it's better if you can just deal with it.

A boxing coach of mine told me that was scar tissue in the lungs breaking down to allow for greater lung capacity. He was a complete dumbass though.
