Hello /fit/,

I am a student, and not great at cooking, but I would like to get fit. By get fit, I mean lose the beer belly i gained in my first year, and build a bit of muscle because i've always been quite skinny around the arms and what not. I'd like some ideas for exercise I could do at home, how often i should do it, and what i should eat to aid in the building of muscle.

Suggestions?

He's right, though. To gain muscle mass, you need to consume calories in excess. And I mean a lot of food. More than you'll feel like you can handle eating. All day.

And you'll need to lift heavy. If you don't have ANY weights at home, you're not going to be bulking up by staying there. Bodyweight exercises are not going to get you far.

And about that beer belly....Run. Ride a bike. A lot. Google HIIT or something.

...IF you're an ectomorph.

If he's starting out, they'll be fine for core strength, so long as he's doing it correctly.
