i just got back from the gym - i did my 5x5 of military presses and after i was done i realized that i had a little pain on the left side of my stomach. i usually feel my abdomen tighten up when doing my military presses

did i pull a muscle? or did i possibly fuck up and get a hernia? I'm 18 years old but my dad has had a history of 4-5 hernia's, not sure if that matters

i don't have pain when stretching, lifting, or just standing or sitting there. only when i apply pressure to the spot in the picture

it seems a little high up to be a hernia but i am just really paranoid and worried that i might have fucked up bad - i'd go ask my dad about it but the rents have enough on their minds with the hurricane and all

so if anyone out there knows anything on this subject. it would be greatly appreciated if you gave me a little insight

The best advice I can give is to just have a doctor check on it, or just take a week break from working out to see if the problem sorts itself out. You could also ask your Dad since he's had a hernia before.

I would say you ruptured your spleen, if you feel the pain get worse in a day or two see a doctor immediately or else it may become and infection and you may die :( If it gets better I would say it was either a pulled muscle or a small cramp.

if you're serious, what makes you think its my spleen? don't you usually need some sort of trauma to the area? i was just lifting

Trauma is the most common way of rupturing your spleen yes, but it can also occur if the abdominal cavity is put under extensive amounts of strain. So if you were working out too often or lifting too much.
