(Pic is only worksafe one that I have on my normal /s/ computer)

I actually have a gym membership and I do sort of have time to go to the gym, but for some reason I'm just really shy of going. The place isn't too far either, the problem is that I just have absolutely no idea what happens or what I'm supposed to do in the dressing room area, so I can never make it there and actually work out a bit. Is there any way to sort of gain confidence in this area? (5'10", 260lb, ugly face, unhealthy looking skin). I just don't want to have people think I'm weird for having too much hair on my legs, or have a fat guy work out next to them(like on treadmill/bikes).

This is why I only workout at home, I'm 5'11" and 195 but I still have some lose skin from when I weighed more and I refuse to even run with my girlfriend I'm so embarrassed by it.

Everyone at the gym is ugly, so why shouldn't you? That's my motivation.

Find someone to go to the gym with you. It will help motivate you and make you feel less out of place.

you will get used to it once you start going regularly. not many people tend to use the gym regularly and you will soon keep on seeing the same faces.

If you really don't feel like going to the gym.
Go to Wal-mart, find a cheap bicycle that won't fall apart.
Ride it everyday, it's a good exercise.
Run once in a while too.

Most people at the gym will either ignore you, or be very very(sometimes overly?) supportive and helpful. Keep at it, you meet some really friendly people at gyms!

Throw in sunglasses for added effect.
To be honest, the gym is a great place to meet people, even if you are new to the location.

GET OVER YOURSELF.

Everyone at the gym is there for the same reasons you want to be there: to look and feel better. You dont know any of these people so who gives a fuck what they think.

Are you paying for this membership? Whats the point if your not going to go?

Listen to a couple of these guys. Cover up if you want. Basically in the locker room, mind your own business. No one will care about you, and you shouldn't for them.

Go a couple times, and you will get over it. Just mind your own space.

It is really annoying to have fat people working out next to you. They always look like they are in overwhelming pain.
