/fit/, I have a problem doing pullups. I can do 4 in a straight series and I've been doing pullups for a month now and I can only do four proper ones in a row. How can I get rid of my pussyness and do more pullups? What exercises can I do to help out? I do have barbells and I plan to get a bench press bar in the near future. Tips welcome.

assisted pull ups google it, also work on push ups for a while, try the one hundred push ups on www.hundredpushups.com .

when u can do a fair amount of push ups u can do a fair amount of pull ups aswell.

there are many exercises to help you strengthen your back. i dont really recommend pullups, they work for some but dont work for most. lat pulldown is a good alternative. if you are only limited to barbells, then to strengthen your back you can try bent over rows and t bar rows. You will still hit the same muscles, but pull downs/ups increase width and rows increase thickness.

Just always do pull-ups, throw a few in during the day or, when you're doing other exercises throw in a pull-up or two after every set.
