Hey /fit/,

I have a question about how my daily workout. When I first started trying to lose weight at 265 pounds, I used an exercise bike and walked a little bit (started off slow). Then around 240 I started using one of those gay Gazelle things that Tony Little advertises for 30-50 minutes per day. I feel like a douche using it but it worked great until around 225. I started doing interval training (or whatever it's called) with the gazelle at this point until now. I warm up on it for about 3 minutes, then do 30 seconds of high intensity followed by 1 minute of low-ish intensity. I heard this works by keeping your metabolism somewhat high for the rest of the day due to the shock you're putting on your body.

Now, I've been stuck around 215 for the past 2 weeks or so. I increased the amount of high/low intensity rotations from 8-10 and I also do a bunch of situps and pushups every day. I'd still fluctuate up and down between 213 and 216. It MIGHT be because I've been letting my calorie intake go a little (I had fast food the other day for the first time in months, fuck! It's been more than that, though). What does /fit/ think I should do with my daily workout? Has interval training worked for anyone else here? Should I be strict on my diet for the next week and see if there's improvements?

pic not related.

OP here, I forgot to add that I cool down for 3-6 minutes after the interval rotations, so it ends up being about 20 minutes daily.

keep going up in intensity for another three weeks or so. also proper diet is essential.

also, its not about losing weight, any asshole can do that. (just dont eat) its about toning muscle and not being a big blob of flesh. you are improving-- keep at it.

How much is your daily calorie intake? If you starve your self or go really low below maintenance level, your metabolism will also slow down, and your body will go into starvation mode and try to hold on to every fat cells that you have.

Another thing, your cheat meal (the fast food that you had) once in a while is considered good for you, as it will jacked up your metabolism.
