Hello, I've been jogging every day for a few weeks now. I've read some places on the board that running is not as good for me as I thought. Is running the best way to burn fat or should I be doing something else? Will it increase my muscle mass?

If you run for long distances then yes, it will burn fat. It will increase the muscle mass in your legs. You will not get stronger biceps though.

I've heard that walking is actually better (joint wise) than running. Heel to toe when you walk. You go faster and it can help to build up the muscle.

Walking uses more fat for energy, running uses more carbs for energy. To lose fat, walking is actually superior. Jogging and sprinting is probably better and building muscle in legs and abdomen, not to mention that it's trains your heart.

Although a lower pace will make you burn more fat than glucose stores (by proportion), the total amount of fat burned walking is less than the total amount of fat burned running.
