Hey /fit/,
Long time lurker, first time poster. I wrestled this year on a school team, and... really did not perform up to par. Conditioning got my into average shape by the season's end, but not nearly fit enough to make varsity. Essentially, what does /fit/ recommend to simultaneous lower body fat to get the most I can out of my weight class - I am currently 5'9" and 155 lbs., looking to either gain to 165 lbs. or 148 lbs. - build explosive power (I only have access to the low weight of 100 lbs. plates for a barbell [but I can buy sandbags if needed] so I do one arm snatches and and arm high pulls. Is this sufficient?), and develop muscular and cardiovascular endurance?

Essentially, I need to be able to lift, throw, and manipulate a squirming person my weight who fights back for up to 5 minutes at a time.

Please help, and thanks

Well, I'd probably aim to go to the 165 class, instead of going down. No reason, really.

Snatches are good, muscular endurance you can just get from wrestling.

You could get some bands, and do squats with the bands on, for more explosiveness (IE more pressure at top than bottom)

Get sandbags, do low rep stuff, eat more, work your whole body.

HIIT for endurance, squats to failure (regardless of the weight - do all variations: Bulgarian squats, OVERHEAD SQUATS, power squats, ass to grass squats, front squats) for overall awesomeness, hundreds and hundreds of pushups, handstand pushups, pullups, and chinups for strength endurance, and Olympic lifting (what you say you do is fine) HARD twice a week.
