Dear /fit/

A few years back (3-4) I was a very fit anon. I played Soccer, did Tae Kwon Do and I ate very healthily. Unfortunately due to school becoming serious business as well as getting a part time job I found that I was to busy to continue with these sports (probably to lazy as well).

While I still eat reasonably healthily I haven't really done proper exercise in a long time. This morning I decided to try and rectify that, there are a bunch of music festivals coming up that I'm going to attend and I want to have enough energy to enjoy them. My house is right next to a hill (not an overly big one I might add) and my intention was to jog up and down for about half an hour. Nothing to strenuous. 10 minutes into my jogging and I was almost dead. I almost vomited and I could hardly breathe. I came home and crashed.

My question to you is, why? Whilst I'm not as fit as I was, I haven't become a fatty. I've merely lost some definition. Was I pushing it to hard? It didn't feel like it at first. Could it be something else, perhaps a lack of iron in my body or something? Should I just try again tomorrow and see if I do any better, or would I be better off talking to my doctor?

tl;dr: Went jogging. I died. Halp.

your cardio muscles are weak

You are going to have to build them up like any other muscle. My guess is that you pushed yourself too hard. Start slower.

well even though you eat healthy and do all that fancy dancy awsomeness and you may be in good shape, your cardio system is something that will degrade over time if not kept in line, People will say "oh hey just take it easy and you will get better" but honestly thats downright bullshit and you know it

thats like if i was gonna say "hey you wanna fight? but dont try to punch me cuz you might get tired"

Push yourself until you cannot move, until your body aches from head to toe to the point your mind says "give up" but your heart says "never"

guts and determination will be the only thing that can allow you to push yourself to the max, instead of jogging up that hill. full out fucking sprint and get back to working out again. lazyness is not an excuse, it is a weakness
