Why did you put that in quotes

No i just don't run the full 6 miles, i run/jog for 30min then a quick walk for around 5min then finish the run.

Your problem most likely lies in your diet. Eat right. That means cut out sodas, surgery drinks, and fast food. Stick to eating lean meats, vegetables and fruits. Drink water and skim milk. Go easy on the dressing, avoid it completely if you can.

Keep a food log. Count calories. Check how many calories you should be having daily over here: http://www.calorie-count.com/calories/calories-goal.php
Adjust your calorie deficit according to how fast you want to lose weight. Don't cut too much or you risk muscle loss.

Keep "running" 6 miles a day. Google HIIT, and see if you can incorporate it into your "running", it tremendously increases the effectiveness of it.

If you follow all that you should be losing weight. Good Luck.

Weight is not something you want to lose....

You want to lose fat.

What you need to do instead of cardio is resistance training. Increase muscle mass to increase metabolism. Gain 5 of muscle to lose 10 of fat.

Also, keep in mind... it's not about how much you weigh either. I weigh around 190 and have 8-10% body fat. You'll look good at 12% even.

Cardio burns only when you do it. So, run an hour lose 300 calories... so what.. Work out with weights for an hour lose 300 that day, 250 the day after due to muscle regrowth and cell regeneration and you'll burn calories days after. Your body takes energy to build muscle.

Running is for faggots.

You fail

Do you even know what HIIT is? If you took a moment from your blissfully ignorant existstance to Google it you would see that it does exactly what you claim running "fails" to do. Cell regeneration over time to burn more calories. The only thing failing here is you sir.

you're right in a way, but running has its place.

Sure a bodybuilder has a massive metabolism just based on his caloric needs to fuel his muscle, but for the average joe, combining lifting and running yields results much faster.

If you're XBAWKS HUEG the best cardio to do is walking on an incline, so as not to induce catabolism, but for the rest of us cardio/HIIT is indeed worthwhile.

I'm talking about no rest work out. Switching from let's say, pushups to curls to pullups to hammer with no rest... that'll get your heart racing just as fast as running while building all your vital muscles. Keeping your heart rate up while using _all_ your muscles in various exercises allows you to work up all muscle groups and give the ones you just worked a change for the next set.

Work out for an hour without dropping halt and tell me how it compares on your heart rate meter and body burn.

Free weights, no running around to machines. It's like HIIT but you're doing both resistance and cardio at the same time... but in essense you're not running or anything of the sort.
