I've been thinking about this for quite a while now, and I feel that I just have to ask you guys. /fit/, just what is your "final goal" with your training, when is it that you reach that point that you just feel "I'm done, this is where I want to be", and just maintain from there on.

If you work out for looks, then your goal is very much clear, isn't it? But those of you that aim for heavier and heavier weights, what is the goal, what is the final destination? Are you competing, or working with something that requires you to be HUEG, and or is it just a desire to become a mini-hulk and go "Me >>>>>>> You"?

My goal is to have no goals. The most succesful people are the ones who are just satisfied enough to fell good, but always looking for something better. I don't think there is anypoint when a person is "done" with fitness, they just shift focus to something else they need to work on.

my goal is just to become the best i can (lift the heaviest, run the fastest i can) so there isn't a final goal.. just to see how far i can push myself

I feel like I have to ask you what "type" of fitness enthusiast you might be. In it for looks, in it for health and being able to push yourself harder, outright just to "lift heavier and heavier shit", or some mix of any of these?

220 @ 6' & 8% bf. Lifts can keep going up for all I care, I got another year or twos worth of serious lifting before I can do this.

Originally I was shooting for 300/400/500 Bench/Squat/Deadlift, but I'm realizing that since I'm like already there, and I'm only 196, I have a ways to go in terms of my weight/mass goal. Regardless, I'm just going to keep my numbers increasing until I'm 220 or so. I'll take it from there.

More about genetics than anything that shit, once you get over a certain level. Only guy that seems to have that really going is Jack Lalanne.

As it is now, the "goal" for me is just get as strong, quick, and skilled as possible when it comes to fighting. The final destination, if I'm really just going way out there, would be to be able to KO/TKO anyone with a single strike.

thats probably why the average human life span has doubled in the last 8 generations. everyone's genetic makeup changed dramatically

>once you get over a certain limit

That limit would have to be not living in the fucking muck and having to work your ass off for a payload that's just barely enough for the body to survive on, and near-constantly having to fight off whatever damn disease you can imagine.

And what I meant with genetics is that most people that reach that obscene level of _OLD_ aren't exactly people that have strived all their lives to live as healthily as possible, or lived in a completely clean and germfree enviroment the majority of their lives. They're just random old ladies and men.

I'll stop when I've reached peak awesomeness; then I'll keep going for maintenance.

I've already reached my goal: a complete lifestyle change where I expect to be completely healthy for a long time, to the point where I can jog a mile with no issues when I'm 75.

I now find all fast food completely repulsive, I feel physically ill if I have a slice of Domino's, I haven't had soda in three years. I hung around flu-ridden friends all throughout this year and I couldn't get sick, even when I tried (I wanted to build up my immunity, but I guess it's already there).

I like having a trim, defined waist, a ripped body, and the knowledge that I can wear anything and look good in it. Working out for me now entails training for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, but other than that, working out has become so routine I feel a bit...what's the word, sluggish? Fat? Undisiciplined? I feel that way if I haven't done my daily routine.

got the 6pack but its not as prevalent as it could be. And, with the aid of /fit/ i've learned that the solution is not more crunches but more cardio + stricter diet = lose body fat = protruding abs
