I need some ideas on treating a strained or pulled muscle. I've heard everything from "put it under ice" to "Rest it in hot water"...some jerkface actually told me it could be walked off lol. I need some ideas /fit...help a nublet out.The wierd thing is yesterday, my recover day (no excersize whatsoever), i didnt feel any pain at all, but when i woke up this morning it was pretty bad. Does inactivity do bad things?
Stretch it out real easy; if it hurts too much, don't fuck with it.Rest, ice, stretch, elevate.
Google 'R.I.C.E. injury treatment'. Also, NSAIDS are a good idea, like ibuprofen or Excedrin.
It just needs time. Chances are it's inflamed, which is why you would ice it. Take some tylenol and relax for a couple days. And no, inactivity does not make it worse.
>some jerkface actually told me it could be walked off lolwhen i injured my back a few years ago walking actually helped a lot
>>172225...laugh so hard>>172229thanks man...useful.
>>172230I hate to nitpick, but Tylenol's not really an anti-inflammatory agent.
>>172242does that mean tylenol is worthless? <,< cause i just took two...and i hate pills
>>172286It's good for other things, but its not effective for reducing inflammation in the muscles when they're injured.
diclofenac is awesome.
>>172324What OTC med can I get that in?
>>172329A generic should be available everywhere. It's THE sport analgeticum.
>>172333I myself prefer 800 mgs of Vitamin I
>>172234that's because of the connection between the use of your hips and position of backyour stretching out your hips and knees which are most likely out of allignment, so your back goes into proprt allignment when those muscles are working properly, so to answer OP it depends on where the muscle is that you pulled/strained
>>172344its my calf this time :q whenever anything else gets sore its general 1 day recovery and doesnt hurt so bad. but this is the 3rd time for my calfs...and them bitches hurt. I have been taking not and trying not to blast them...but looks like im not trying hard enough.
