Resistance bands.

What say you, /fit/?

I had one of those things.

I was using it and the strap broke and whipped me in the ass. HARD. It left a welt that took a week to go away.

So I would have to say, no.

They don't work your muscles over their full range of motion. Bowflex is the same way. You're pulling 10% up until you work out the slack, then you're pulling 90%

As a complement to an aerobic workout, sure, but not for strength training.

For strength training like in SQUATZ probably not, but for women who have trouble lifting a phone book they should be o.k. to get started.
>> Anonymous
>>41059

A phone book would be better or improving strength. The bands will allow them to lift more in the first or last 10% of the lift. No help there =(

bowflex is the same?

What a bunch of retards.
>> Anonymous
>>41084

Problem? The weights on the older bowflexes (don't know about their newfangled designs) are basically flexible bars. The weight slowly scales up as you go through the lift. EXACTLY LIKE RESISTANCE BANDS.

Don't like it.

>Bowflex
Never mention that here.

Even when denigrating it?

Never, it's a guaranteed shitstorm.

Is this experience from 7chan? I come here very regularly and haven't heard word of Bowflex before now.
>> Anonymous
>>41133
Why don't you try going to find out yourself? 7chan's /fit/ board isn't a cesspool full of fatties and skinnies bitching about the same thing every single day. Go to 7chan, read the FAQ, and chances are the vast majority of your questions and problems will be solved.

>>41143

So 7chan's FAQ will say why Bowflex will cause a shitstorm? This I gotta see...
>> Anonymous
>>41164

HMM. Not a word regarding Bowflex in 7chan's /fit/ FAQs.

So I again pose the question: why will mention of Bowflex cause a shitstorm?

Resistance bands are good for rehabbing an injured area.

Bowflex is good for nothing.

i think bowflex is great, if you just starting to train for something or dont have time for the gym or no room for other equip

Dumbbells are better than bowflex and take up less room. Self resistance exercises are better and take up even less room than dumbbells. Hell, a big bag full of sand and some big tires are better than bowflex.
