I was thinking of getting some whey protein hydrolysate since it is apparently the only true quick absorbing protein.

I called up my Popeyes and they have a 5lbs tub for 50 bucks, yet it has shit like casein mixed into it... Won't this basically render the quick absorption moot?

its a placebo, eat eggs

Isn't anything that is hydrolysed full of cancer?

Nothing wrong with a blend, take it PWO, the hydrolysate will be taken up right away with the BCAA's, isolate will get taken up within 2 hours, and the casein will be with you for up to 7 hours.

wait wat?
we don't have a bunch of stomachs like cows
everything in your gut gets flushed out at the same time... so if your casein isn't done digesting in that timeframe before it gets dumped...well the rest ends up in the toilet.

you make it sound like everything you eat stays in your stomach for over 8 hours before it gets to the next step... fuck, i've eaten stuff that has taken like 2 hours before i shat it out

OP here, not sure what the answer is yet... But the stuff I might get isn't what is in OP pic.
The guy on the phone said something about it having isolate, hydrolysate, casein, concentrate, and amino's.

I just don't understand why I can't get straight up hydrolysate though... But at least popeye had it, I called GNC and the douche told me there was no difference between proteins anyways.

This is where whey protein hydrolysate comes in. The protein is already broken up into large peptides, so we get a rapid absorption with peak levels reaching the blood at around 80 minutes (Calbet and MacLean, 2002), compared to 60 minutes for pharmaceutical grade amino acids (Borsheim et al., 2002).

Its cheaper then isolate though... 50$ for 5lbs isn't bad... Although it isn't pure hydrolysate

While hydrolysate gets into the bloodstream quicker, it doesn't provide a full amino acid profile unlike whey. Thus it's just chilling there until a full protein source hits.

Therefore the verdict is;
Keep my 50$ and finish off my 6lbs tub of isolate and 2lb of casein...

Is isolate still decent for PWO?

>sure they are trying to sell they're surge product
>trying to sell

They developed a product which revolves around the greatness of hydrolysate, so therefore anything good they tell you about hydrolysate should be taken with a grain of salt because yes, they are trying to SELL their product.
