SQUATZ!! Anonymous
Ok /fit/,

So I was mainly working out my upper body for around 6 months, and gained around 20 lbs.

I decided to start playing soccer again. But the problem was that I was now noticabely slower. 6 months ago I could outsprint every loser on the pitch, but now I can barely keep up with the fatties.

I am currently 18 at 5 '11, and went from 140 to around 160 lbs. I have an end goal of 175 lbs.

I then decided to start adding some lower body routines into my upper body rest days. For the last 4 months I have been doing this. I mainly did some air SQUATZ and some basic low impact leg excercises.

My problems seem to have been solved! My thighs are strong enough to allow me to shit in public toilets without sitting on the pissed up seats. I can sit at my computer without a chair for hours on end! But most importantly I am now the fastest on my team and without a doubt one of the strongest.

However the problem is, that I have only gained 5 pounds in the last 4 months.

I need to know how to keep the growth at a steady rate untill I reach my goal, without scrapping the beautifull excercise that is the SQUATZ!!!

OP here, telling you to please get out! I have been doing squats since before the plague, that is the squatz meme spread throughout /fit/.

Are you sure you are getting enough in your diet to replace the calories burnt from the squatz. How much have you increased your calorie intake by?
>> Anonymous
Hell yeah squatz.
>> Anonymous
I am positive anon. I have increased my calorie intake by 400 a day. My new lower body routine is around 1 hour long, and consists of reps of 10 fast squatz followed by a short rest, and also some slow skipping.

This is new routine is only added every other day, so I am taking an extra 800 calories for every routine done.

It definetly sounds like your calorie intake should be doing its job. Maybe you are not at 100% when upper body training, because you are still drained from the squatz.

I don't feel physically drained when I am doing my weights. I have even increased the weights of my lifts several times.

OP here. I don't want this thread to turn into a "lets all shit ourselves over how cool squatz are". I genuinely need some help here.

Even though you may not feel physically drained, you may still need to give your body more time to rest. Also while you may have increased your calorie intake by 400, are you eating smaller meals more often?

Do more compounds.

Your not going to get fatigued from curls and tricep extensions.

You've stopped making gains because your legs are now up to holding up your weight in a squat.

If you want to make any more muscle gains, you're going to have to do real squats. Pic related.

Air squats?
Fag. Use weights, and don't stop until you can squat 2.5x your own weight. Also, add lunges, DEADLIFTS, POWERCLEANS, etc.

Weight pressing on your back, your legs moving up and down...oh what great ecstasy. The simple though of such joy sends me sprinting to the gym. I caress each metal weight as I slip it on the small slender metal poll. When I put the newly weighted poll on my back I stand and scream as I lose my mind in squating. Some people might look at me but I don't care. I feel like nothing matters anymore. I squat and stand, stand and squat, my screams fill the gym. But alas, all good things must come to an end. I place that big beautiful metal bar back on its rack and wipe the sweat from when we were one. It's hard to stand and my legs feel numb, but it feels good. I walk home with a smile on my face.
