I've been wearing the ankle weights (no wrist) since Tuesday and begun walking to school rather than driving. The walk's about 20 minutes at a decent pace, unweighted. Probably about a mile. I've noticed decent burn, but my knees are easily aggravated and they're starting to give me hell. I'm cutting the weight down (to 3.5lbs) to see if my kneees come back to life.
OP, I'm glad you decided to stop running in these. Just walking is somewhat uncomfortable, and discomfort is never a good thing. I'm on the fence as to whether I'll keep these things on in the long run. The psychological impact of "working out" all day has made it easier to stick to my exercise routine, but that's really the only benefit I feel like I'm receiving.
