protein bars Anonymous
Are there any actually worth eating? I just started a new job where basically my only chance for eating something is to scarf down a protein bar, but I'm worried that all of the ones out there are just crammed full of sugars and way too many carbs. Are there any ones that /fit/ actually deems OK, or am I better off avoiding them entirely? I don't care if it tastes terrible as long as the nutritional value is good.

There's one I eat. It has about 1 gram of protein per 10 calories and comes in a few sizes. You can get them all over, including at Target. I can't remember the name now and I'm all out, I'm afraid.

My 200 calorie ones have 20 g protein and only about 3-4 g sugar. The rest of the sweetening is done by sugar alcohols which are far better as long as you don't eat too much of them.

A little sugar is fine if you eat something nutritious either way.

I'd say avoid unless you plan to use it as a post or pre-workout supplement, the reason is that although they carry a good amount of protein, they're also packed full of carbs and sugar, thus making you more hungry and leading you to probably over-eat down the line due to all the sugar and carbs.

Found it. Pure Protein bars.

They're the best I've found.

There is this protein drink, don't remember the name. It has like 42 grams of protein for 300 calories and I think 2 grams of sugar. It's expensive but good stuff.
