If Y, why and what reasons do you have for not quitting.

Y, I'm up to a pack a day so its tough to quit.

*in after BAWWW...

I love showing how fucking tough I am and how much I don't give a shit by giving thousands of dollars every year to Big Tobacco.

All smokers are morons. Enjoy your slow, painful, drawn-out death.

I'm at a pack every 6 months or so. I just started dating a non anti smoker so I may be down to 0 soon.

My dad smoked. I hope I never end up smoking.

am i the only one that automatically thinks less of people who smoke?
>> Anonymous
>>107784
certainly not

inb4 smokefags claim superiority complex
>> Anonymous
>>107784
nope, same here

i also think less of people who frequently get drunk

habitual abuse is a character flaw, but occasional use is fine--but there's never anyone i know who is an occasional smoker: they're all habitual
>> Anonymous
smoked for seven years. half a pack to two packs, depending on level of alcohol consumption. slowly cut back over the course of a year and then stopped. best decision ever.

Been smoking a pack a day for 6 years. I don't hang out with people that won't smoke, because they're all uninteresting losers. And yes, I'm still superior to you. I'm 24 years old, 5'9, 160 lbs, my mile time is 5:53, I 5RM deadlift 315 lbs, and max out on 24 pull-ups. So all fuck you whiny crybabies, I'm stronger than cancer, cigarettes ain't gonna do shit to me.

let's reverse this question. has anyone ever looked at a person smoking and thought "damn, he must be one of the cool kids."
>> Anonymous
>>107760

It's only as slow and painful as yours, faggot.

Used to be on almost a pack a day but I've cut it down to like 3-4 a day seeing as they cost 3 dollars more a pack then they did a few years ago. No intention of fully quitting.

I would take one if somebody offered especially at a party. Also most of the girls I ended up sleeping usually have a pack, and I usually take one after we're done.

yes, but vices in moderation are acceptable

unmitigated vices (pack a day, get drunk weekly, etc.) are unacceptable character flaws IMNSHO

not everyone has unmitigated vices--I don't

unless being fit and making awesome grades (thus balancing mind and body) is a vice

>>108007
basically because if you habitually abuse a substance, the substance controls you and if you don't have control over yourself, you are subhuman
>> Anonymous
Y - got exams, smoke weed, enjoy it, love the feeling of nicotine, a cigarette goes down a treat with a beer. plus i don't smoke around non-smokers who object, i smoke outside or in my own room, and if you judge me purely on a single vice then thats your problem, and i probably didn't want to know you anyway.

N, I dont see any economical benefits in it.

I go on smoking binges where I will smoke a pack or so over a couple weeks. Usually I notice when I'm starting to crave it, and I swear the stuff off for a few months. Good way to prevent getting hooked in while still being able to enjoy it once and awhile.

Quit, you pussies

both of my parents quit after smoking 35 years.
>> Anonymous
>>108408
Yeah, I'm so fustrated.

Or, it's been proven that you have to smoke more to get the same high the progressively as you smoke.

Let me know when you work your way up to 2 packs a day there, I'll be enjoying myself (forever) with occasional edge relief from other substances. I also don't smell like shit or scare people who smell my breath, it's pretty cool man.

I smoke two and a half packs a day. My friends actually get on me to stop smoking, but everyone dies anyway so I just enjoy my life. I really like it, plus since I know it's not that great for my health it allows me to do whatever the hell else I want.

I only smoke tobacco with weed. Healthy, huh?

How long have you been smoking? It'll start catching up with you in a few years.... Enjoy coughing up phlegm every morning, smelling like shit, getting tired all the time, and gum disease.

And when you're older, well.... you know.

I used to smoke, two packs a day, one menthol one Players filter. It took a few shots, but I quit cold turkey finally. I still crave the fucking things after two years.

addendum: for some reason, when I see a chick smoking, it increases her appeal to me.

I started smoking during basic training during out field phase, it was only occasionaly one or two at night with my lady fried. I came home stopped but when I went back on contract with the navy I started smoking again, this time about 6-10 a day. I came home and continued with my habit, went back on contract only this time went sailing the seas arrrrrgh, start smoking a pack a day. Throughout this time I tried quitting cold turkey but failed each time. I recently started scuba diving for the navy and have finally quit and have the will power to be around others smoking them and not want one. yay me, i hope I can keep it up i like being able to take a full breath again.

to judge someone based on one part of who they are and think yourself better than them based solely on that is also a character flaw. imo that is worse than someone being a smoker or drinker, but i've dealt with a lot of egomaniacs so i'm less tolerant of it(you prolly have similar reasons for being intolerant of smokers/drinkers). everyone is flawed. if your flaws only affect yourself then who am i to judge you? it's your body, mind, etc. also as far as the not having control over yourself thing, you are biophysically hardwired to be just as susceptible to the addiction. you are potentially every bit as subhuman, because we are all ultimately animals that get tweaked by various chemical releases or intakes in our body.

the only time i'll ever smoke tobacco is when i smoke weed, which is like, once every month if that. Even after that i hate it a week later when im coughing and shit.

I smoke occasionally, almost always when I'm with other smokers. I'll go weeks without smoking at all, but then if I spend some time with certain friends of mine we might get through a few packs in a weekend together.

I don't think less of people depending on whether they smoke, drink or whatever, but I certainly do think a lot less of people who are self-righteous and judgmental.

being susceptible to an addiction and letting it happen are very very different. by that logic heroin/crack/meth addicts shouldn't be looked down upon because everyone has the "potential" to be addicted just like them. Also smoking has effects on others, while being quick to judge those who do doesn't really hurt anyone. Except them, when they get turned down for a job. (lol)

>>109868
Then you're a hypocrite.
>> Anonymous
I do coke and heroin instead because it is less addictive,

um second hand smoke and drunk driving--no effect on other people?
