Shaving Anonymous
I've tried all kinds and brands of razors, shaving foam/gel and aftershaves without any luck: my face would become badly irritated and start bleeding every single time, so I gave in and bought a trimmer, which I use everyday to keep my beard 1-2 mm long. Looks good and is easier on the wallet in the long run.
Does anyone have a similare experience to share?

I actually just use one of the classic beard trimmers like the picture. My skin's never needed anything except a razor for my neck. The shaving cream I use now did wonders

If I use a brand new blade, gilette something-or-other with the 3 blades, and shave only every other day, then I'm fine.
Shave every day, or use the same blade twice, and I get razorburn like you wouldn't believe.
Weekends I don't bother at all, but on sunday just before I go to sleep, I usually shave.
If I do it just before work on monday my face is fucked up and raw.

Try getting a shaving brush and shaving soap instead of just applying foam with your hands. I found that helps me, you have to brush for a few minutes to really get the full benefit. The only place I get any kind of irritation is around my adam's apple and I think thats just because it's a weird shape around there. Even then, it's nothing too bad. Have a warm shower before (or during) shaving, or at least put a hot flannel on your face for a few minutes. Also, you want your skin to be nice and wet. Finally, finish off by repeatedly splashing cold water on your face and leave it damp for a few minutes. Then just pat it dry. Apply a small amount of aftershave lotion.

I don't feel like explaining again how to get the perfect shave, so watch the video that I learned it from:
