Sup niggers.

I've decided I need to get off my ass and become more healthy. I'm not unhealthy as it is, just not as toned as I'd like to be and I have shit stamina from never running or cardio training.

I recently saw an informercial for this program called P90X and I was wondering what you all thought of it.

Nothing? Really? Not even a troll or an alternate recommendation?

No, David, you ARE the troll.

Actually you faggots I'm genuinely curious about this and wanted advice not mindless stonewalling.

Yes I am a person, no I'm not a bot. No I am not here to sell you shit.

If this is shit, I want to know it is.

it's good for cutting
you won't gain much bulk, if any
it's pretty intense, you need to be really fit to keep up

it's alright. Pretty expensive for just a bunch of videos of guys doing crossfit but if it keeps you motivated working along to the DVDs then you might find it worth it.

GTFO, I've seen at least one thread like this every day I've been on /fit/. Down to the exact same pic and nearly the same text, every time.

Honestly, I've been looking for a whole-body muscle toning and training program to get myself more in shape. Also, I want to improve myself a lot as far as cardio goes.

It is way too fucking expensive but honestly, I just want to get something that pumps me up and keeps me on track. If this works, I will consider it was worth the money, if not then I'm calling that money back guarantee number A-fucking-SAP.

Thanks for your input fellow Anon.

Maybe it's other people who see the infomercials and who have a hivemind.

Go stick your dick in a light-socket you fuckbiscuit this is the first thread I've started here and it will be the last on this topic.

I'm not OP. But I made a P90 thread a while back. The reason everyone uses the same pic is because we google P90x and it's the only good image to use.

LoL yeah, pretty much. It's the only picture of the program that looks presentable on the first page and, being lazy, I didn't feel the need to look for another one.

Hey, if you're too utterly retarded to realize a gimmick when you see one, go right ahead and waste your money.
>> Anonymous
>>169381

Money is not an end, it's a means to an end. If wasting some cash will help motivate me to get off my ass and become a healthier person, then I'm willing to do it. Honestly when it comes to fitness I'm not picky about the "how" except if it's seriously wasteful or obviously wrong-minded.

I'm just interested in kick-starting some kind of program to get me in better shape. I have the luxury of being able to afford this and gimmick or no I thought it was worth a shot. If not, then it was my stupid decision and I'll avoid being such an idiot in the future.

There are tons of P90X-esque workouts online. It's not a bad workout, it's just stupid to pay for it.

Go Google "13 week training program" or "13 week workout". You'll basically get everything that P90X tells you to do for free.

just torrent the shit and try it out. the cardio kickboxing will have you sweating in 30minutes

Thanks Anons. I appreciate your input. I'll be browsing for torrents. If I stop by later and see one of these threads I'll post any good links I find to help keep these threads short and to a minimum.

No problem, I was considering P90X back in March and I did some Google work to find reviews on it, and stumbled across a bunch of different forums that had very similar 90 day plans, so I just started following one of those instead of spending the money on P90X.

Like I said, the whole idea isn't new and professional lifters know that the "muscle confusion" technique works, especially to break out of plateaus, P90X is just the same thing, only some douchebag out in California is trying to get mega rich off of it.

I agree. It's pretty obvious that any idiot could see it's a get-rich off of people scheme. But my only real question was whether the program itself was sound and worth my time. Honestly, I like hoe cleverly it's put together. The infomercial I saw was based heavily on testimonials, honest and self-recorded mostly. That to me spoke of some genuine success rate and potential. Also, they encourage people in the program to talk with one another and record results in a community forum. This is also smart and good business because it means they can keep a stead revenue stream from "fitness advising" and a "community fee." But like I said, ultimately it's about what works. I'll try the program and see if I like it, and if it seems like too much money for results I can get elsewhere then I'll send it back and make my own program.

Personally, I've found that even though you have to wade through skeptics, trolls, and faggots, 4chan has a lot of fairly well-informed and honest Anons in pockets here and there. I figured hitting up /fit/ would be worth a shot, so thanks for your help.

It's true that it is a benefit to have a program laid out very efficiently for you. With following some text you found online, it can be hard to know whether you're using truly proper techniques and form. The fact P90X offers it on video is a pretty good deal and it'll probably be more motivating to watch the trainers on your TV walking you through the workouts instead of just *hoping* you're doing it right on your own.

Your money, your life. I don't think you can go wrong if you buy P90X, you'll probably get great results. For me, personally, it was more about "If I buy P90X, I might not be able to pay rent this month".

It's always nice encountering Anons like yourself. Like I said, I'm fortunate to be in the position I'm in and I hope things work out for the best.

I wish you well with your chosen programs.

Well I torrented it not long ago and just finished the fourth day tonight, and I think its awesome. The workouts are ridiculously intense, and its got a manual with like 120 pages of routine and nutrition planning. Really, if you want to get fit fast and don't mind paying/downloading a massive file, then get P90x, follow through with it and eat right, and it will work wonders. You do need some weights or bands and a pull-up bar to get the most out of it, but thats about it. Ill go contrary to most everyone else in the thread and say fucking do it.

OP here again. I decided since you Anons were being so helpful I might comment on the "special offer" that they give you for another, say, around $100 when you buy this program online.

They include resistance bands that I'm sure are adequate at best and a pull up bad that I know is shit due to a long history of wasting money on things I don't need. Checked it out on amazon and it had horrendous reviews so I found one that seems to work rather well if any of you Anons are interested.

It's the Creative Fitness Door Gym. I only checked it out and it seemed like it had a solid base of satisfied users. Of course I only checked amazon, and I'm sure there are better products out there.

The pull up kit they offered in the package deal was the "Everlast Multi Function Chinning Bar." Which is, by the look of it, a complete piece of shit.
