I have seen plenty of vegan threads on 4chan and they all turn to shitstorms. So putting aside the ethics and all of that bullshit, how many vegans are there on here?
August of last year I was a little over 5'10 300 pounds. This morning I was 175 pounds, and I really don't plan on losing anymore. Going vegan was a huge help, I really worked on my meal plan and at a huge variety of foods and didnt just eat salads and boca burgers, like all of the holocaust survivor vegans do. In the first three months I lost 60 pounds, and to be quite honest I never exercised. At five months I really got into hiking and decided to try a raw food diet plan and thats when I really shed the weight. The combo of the diet and lots of exercise just melted the fat and I became really really happy to see all the muscle I was putting on. I have never felt better in my life, and I choose a diet that even most vegans consider extreme, so I might be the odd man out.

So lets hear some vegan stories and spare the ethics. We're not all pushy assholes, honest.

I've wanted to go vegetarian and cut most of the meat from my diet, but I'm not sure I have the discipline to go vegan. How did you manage the restrictions?

I tried to go Vegan once.

The next thing I knew, I was being gangraped in an alley by the cast of Seinfeld.

There was this one vegan that posted on 4chan and I saged his thread. It was epic.

If you go vegan, don't you end up consuming way more carbs and less protein negating the whole point of dieiting?

I switched to vegetarianism, recently. I don't think I could do vegan. I lost 20 pounds in a month, but I also started running three times a week. I can see and feel the difference.

Vegan doesn't really interest me.

I skipped right over vegetarian and went right to vegan. I will say this, but don't want to get to into it, it is easy for me to stay vegan because I believe i the ethics so much. I missed cheese ALOT in the begining, but I slowly lost my interest in it, especially when I began trying all of the other foods I've never considered touching. It's funny how quickly you'll forget about craving a slice of pizza and start thinking about pigging out on some edamames

Thanks for the advice. I've made a big move towards nuts and other meat substitutes like chickpeas and soy products, but it's a long enough road for me to get to vegetarian.

Hey even a little effort goes a long way. There are plenty of good alternatives out there, from meat to cheese. If you find your supermarket has a small selection, specialty stores like Trader Joe's and Wild By Nature have a huge selection, but be ready to spend a bit more since this stuff is hard to get.soymilk is amazing, and not having to smell the fucking milk carton everytime you want to drink is wonderful.

I'm a vegetarian, have been for about 4 years now. I honestly don't think I could ever go back to eating red meats ever. Going by them in the meat department in a food superstore makes me want to puke. It looks and smells horrid.

Try going to a slaughterhouse. That's what turned me. My uncle wanted me to work with him there and I couldn't stop puking. That smell stays with you for the rest of your life.

I wanted to add, the best part about eating only raw food is how damn cheap it is. I live with my girlfriend and between the both of us we only spend about 30 bucks a week for food. We grow the majority of our own food, but we do buy our various nuts and seeds, teas, water and so on.We've been thinking about picking up a rain barrell, but that idea is still in the air.

I'm underage b& (seventeen), and I've been vegan for about a year now.

I was vegetarian for a few years before that.
It's the best thing I've ever done.

I feel spiritually and physically better for it.
Mmm yup.

I've been vegetarian for nearly a year now,
I've never really noticed a difference in my weight or anything. I've always been fairly fit and active. Veganism doesn't interest me, though I don't consume much dairy or other animal products anyway.
