"Child bearing hips" have NOTHING to do with FAT DEPOSITS and everything to do with the actual spacing of the bone. It is thought that wider hips allow for easier passage of the child,a possibly more accommodating birth canal, and more ease in opening the legs for delivery.
Considering hundreds of thousands of skinny, healthy women give birth every year, one oes not need massive fat deposits to give birth.
In this picture of Sophia Loren, take notice of the thin waist and wide hips. This is a perfect example of wide hips and a healthy weight.The girdle is making her appear slightly thinner than she actually is, but notice the distinct lack of fat deposits.
So thanks, I'll stick with my background in personal training to determine whether or not I believe someone to be at risk or overweight.
