Is walking any good for weight loss?

I'd love to go running. Wrecked my knees playing football. Relegated to walking. Most of the guys on our team looked down on "pussy" exercise that didn't involve loads of effort and screaming all around, and therefore I never really looked into anything beyond HIIT and lifting.

i've lost 60 pounds walking. so have plenty of other poeple. it's about having a sound training regiment and diet. walking +weight training+great diet = the same fucking thing as HIIT

5-6 servings of veggies and fruit
3-4 of grains
3-4 of meats

three day weight lifting splits

5 days of walking

oh wait, it's not healthy or efficient because it's not HIIT
