Anyway, you seem quite unhappy with the fact you're underweight. Not insecure, but you'd probably be happier if you were a little heavier and stronger, right? Well that's what you'd have to gain. Not to mention exercise will do much for your general health and is a great way to relieve stress and anxiety.
And you're right, you have to eat. Alot. Like, perpetually shovel that shit down. Find a beginners 5x5 program. I'm a skinny fuck myself, slowly working my way up from 130lbs to 150lbs. I don't plan to stop until I reach 190lbs. A few staple foods I can recommend apart from the obvious that you can throw back as much as you need of to supplement your diet:-
Spinach. Protein, fibre, and all in a green vegetable. Ideal. As you said, oatmeal, chug whenever needed. Eggs. Cheap, convenient. If you don't live alone buy your own stash and threaten those who attempt to steal your eggs. Scramble for a snack between meals. Nuts of all descriptions. Peanut butter works. Invest in a whey powder, mix with milk, consume after training.
