I've recently been freaked out by what a certain health expert said about eating too much protein: "If you are consuming too much protein, you are probably consuming too many calories over your maintenance levels and this will show as an increase in your body fat levels" and "excess protein is eliminated or is seen as fat rather than muscle". I'm 30 lbs overweight, and have lost 10 lbs over 10 weeks, I'm doing great. Doing HIIT and strength training, cutting down on my carbs and loading up on protein. However, is this true what this man is saying?? I don't want to be fat from consuming too much protein. HELP FIT!

The thing is, I'm not consuming too many calories, I'm just doing alot of substituting... for example, instead of eating my chicken with rice, I'm eating it with egg whites instead. Is there still a possibility that doing this (subbing protein for other things) will make me gain body fat? I don't do a crazy amount of strength training, just a normal amount (~3-4 times a day), and was wondering if I should lower my protein consumption. I eat around 10 egg whites, a can of tuna, two turkey filets, a cup of cottage cheese, and some almonds EACH day. Is this bad?

THEN YOU WONT GET FAT. Forget everything that dumb fuck said. Don't go too protein heavy, get some fats and carbs there too. Different macronutrients are needed for different functions. But the reasons he gave are bullshit.
