So what kind of exercises would an aspiring free runner have to do daily?

Currently half muscle half fat at 5'8 and 200 pounds.

Trim the fat, cardio and weights.
Definitely Core exercises.
Upper body exercises like chin-ups etc.

Op here, that was fail on my end. I imagine I'm somewhere around 20-25% body fat.

In your situation I'd do a couple months of strength training, then do a couple of months of crossfit to drop my bodyfat, increase my conditioning and get good a pull ups. All while practicing easy free running stuff.

At around the 6 month mark I'd start seriously getting into free running, find some other free runner to teach me stuff, and start on a vertical jump program.
