A great, great technique that I've noticed is to inhale an exhale in a cadence of four steps.
Inhale as your taking four steps; exhale as you're taking four steps.
This really, really put up my endurance and it's pretty cool how you can change the cadence to your comfort.
For example, I use the "in, in, out, in" "out out, in, out" cadence sometimes when I feel really, really tired.
