As a side note, for people who get these sorts of sores chronically, you might look at your toothpaste ingredients. It's been shown that Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), an industrial foaming agent put in most all toothpastes, causes some people to constantly have mouth ulcers/canker sores.
I'm one of them, myself. I used to have one at least every other week or so, sometimes two at once. I found out about the SLS reaction and switched to a different toothpaste without it and now it is *very* rare for me to have a mouth ulcer; usually it's from biting my cheek or something now.
Two suggestions are either Rembrandt's Canker Sore toothpaste, or you can search google for "Uncle Harry's Tooth Powder". I use the tooth powder myself but I'd kinda like to go back to the Rembrandt toothpaste.
Some people will suggest Toms of Maine, but don't buy it; Toms of Maine has SLS in it and I had problems with it, too, as good a toothpaste as it is otherwise.
