Just got back from a jog around the neighborhood. I brought my loveable but chubby dog [weighs 50 pounds, not so chubby more like "holy shit fat dog"]. We jogged at about a 10 minute mile [im normally a seven or an eight, but i was scared because of the dog]. I know this is meant for you know, humans, but does anyone know any major problems that can come from bringing my dog with me on my daily jogs?

pic unrelated.

How could there possibly be any problems with bringing a dog? Sure, it'll slow you down and possibly get distracted, which will throw you off your rhythm, but at least you're trying to keep it in shape (though letting it get so big in the first place was a bit negligent).

just don't go too hard until he's used to it and it'll be fine

/an/ would probably be a better place for this question.
The only concern you should have for your sausage of a dog is it's joints. Maybe search the tubes and see if your breed of dog is prone to arthritis ans the like.

10 minutes is barely even a warm-up for a beagle sized dog on up, and a good way to break him in (I'd say after a few weeks he'll be pulling your ass along). If you have a 50 lb chihuaha or something, shame on you.
