I recently started kickboxing, and the legs stretching exercices make the ligaments of my legs hurt like hell during the next 4 or 5 days (I had never practiced a sport involving having highly flexible legs so far), which means I can not go train as often as I would like.
Does /fit/ have any tricks that would help with faster recovery ?
I've mainly been drinking lots of water, took some Ibuprofen on the very next day (felt like it helped a bit), and arnica gel (didn't seem to change anything at all).

At a point when trying the splits I always felt a tear and it took a long time to recover. Then I applied rubbing alcohol being in the max stretch. I went painless beyond that point and since then can stretch happily away. It also helps with soreness. If you are in Germany, try some Franzbranntwein or Melissengeist. Chinese Tigerbalm works too. It also kills the pain in my chronically inflamed nerve better than ibuprofen, voltaren or even diclophenac. Well, thats at least my experience.

Ease into the stretches with constant pressure. Don't bounce. Exhale when you stretch forward. If you get to a point where it feels like something might be tearing, stop and hold it for ~30 seconds. Do the same for every stretch.

Also, make sure you're properly warmed up before you stretch.
