Anti-Dandruff Shampoos can take a flying fuck at a rolling donut
For years, even as a little kid I've had unrelenting dandruff. It doesn't matter which shampoo I use, but washing my hair more often sometimes help.

This is my scalp, after I've just shaved my head. I washed my hair earlier today with fucking Head and Shoulders, which did FUCKING NOTHING. I've tried prescription strength stuff too, nothing works.

I was writing this for /b/ when I reaslied that some people in health and fitness might actually have some answers/suggestions.

tl;dr Fuck the shampoo companies.

i'd actually try /fa/, personally if you wanted shampoo recommendations.

do you regularly comb your hair and washing? a lack of washing and combing properly may make a "hair fungus" which damages the scalp with dandruff build-up. it might be an issue with the skin, rather than the hair itself or shampoos. i'd consult a dermatologist.

i have that shit too. Sucks ass because its like dandruff times over 9000. You might want to look into getting some nizerol (brand name) shampoo. It's a weird metallic orange color and it helps a bit. Good start for you i guess.

note to self: never shave head

I'm actually shaving my head to get rid of it. I used to have the same thing going on under a beard I was growing, till I got rid of the beard.

i have dandruff as well, not a severe as you however. I find it gets alot worse in the winter, but cold showers every otherday keep my scalp moist, no shampoo i use helps.

Here's some pics after I took a second shower today, I use 2 shampoos and soap. My scalp bled just a little bit.

I had that until very recently. Even under the beard. When I shave the beard, it stays for a couple of days then dies. It's probably some form of fungus like psoriasis. What I do is I always make sure that my head is completely dry after a shower. Try to keep the hair short, and don't shower more often. Making the head bleed will do no good, I've tried. I found a shampoo that contains Tar in it and it does miracles. Doesn't cure the thing though, but as soon as I wash with it, the skin stops itching. So I stop touching it with my dirty fingers all day. So the fungus grows less and less.

Head and shoulders is like an acid bomb and will make it worse. Use tar stuff.

OP, are you sure that ain't Psoriais? I have that, and it makes me dandruff a little. I've never shaved, but I know when I itch really bad and I scratch I'm bound to have some scratches similar to your pic.

It looks like Psoriasis, and you better hope it's not. Cause let me tell you, I have that over my body, and it's such a bitch.

and dont try any of the crazy homeopathic methods

I agree that it looks like psoriasis. You should see a dermatologist. They might be able to give you a prescription for some sort of oral medication, to treat it from the inside out, instead of irritating the scalp more.

Sun exposure seems to help you as well.
