Bulking up Anonymous
Hey /fit/. Been working out at the gym 5 days a week for about 3-4 weeks now. i started out sort of chubby but now i feel alright and fairly toned. im currently doing things such as cardio one day and then free weights/machines the next and alternating back and forth while resting during weekends. I really want to bulk up and add about 10-15 pounds of muscle in about 2-3months is this a reasonable goal?

Ive drank 0 soda and eating as healthy as possible while getting alot of protein and few simple carbs such as refined white bread/sugar and such. Thanks and any suggestions/tips for working out would be awsome!

That's a reasonable goal if you spend 3 hours a day in the gym every single day for three months. Not many people have the time or genetic ability to gain muscle that fast. MOST people would be lucky to gain 15-20 pounds of solid muscle in a YEAR.

if people gained muscle this fast wed all be pro body builders

expect maybe two pounds of muscle gain per month, its a slow fucking process and takes years of dedication to get LOLHUEG

OP here. thanks a ton! i just really think its important to have realistic goals. i don't spend 3 hours a day at the gym. more like 1 and a half but ill work on it. maybe ill go for more like 5pounds of lean mass per 4months. anyways thanks again!

By the way I've been wondering, does lean mass mean muscle mass? or is it some sort of other type of muscle mass thats better or something?

tl;dr what is lean mass?

Lean simply means without fat. So lean mass is any part of you that isn't fat. Thing is though, is when you're fully grown the only two kinds of mass you can build in significant amounts are fat or skeletal muscle. So a full grown person gaining lean mass obviously has to be gaining muscle.

Ah ok. I thought it meant non-newbie gains, meaning lean mass didn't go away as quickly, if you were to stop working out

If you're working out 3 hours a day, you should consider taking Creatine.
