Wider arms Anonymous
I notice some guys at my gym. There is one guy who has an incredibly wide back and wide shoulders. He has big arms, but his arms aren't very wide.
Then, there's another guy... he also has very big shoulders, body not quite as wide, but he has very thick and wide arms.
How do you make your arms wider? Or is it just all genetics, and depending on yours, your arms might get wider or just bigger?

You perfectly described me in the first description.

I have a wide back, broad shoulders, and can lift like a bull, but my arms are probably mid to a little above mid size. I'll try and get a picture. I also have no definition, muscular fat guy.

It depends of what kind of (if any) curls they are doing. For instance, holding the bar with your hands close together will help mainly the inner sides of your biceps, and wider grips help the outer sides. Concentration curls help the biceps peak.

This is what I mean. The guy on the left has huge biceps, but his arms are not very wide. His arms are pretty big though. The guy on the right has huge biceps as well. His arms have nice peaks but the muscle is overall much wider though, making his arms look bigger.
Is this genetic, or does it have to do with muscle work?

It has to do with the work, depending on what kind of curls are being done affects which portion of the biceps are growing, thus making them look wider from a front view or a side view.

Preacher bar is perfect for doing that. Do 1 set inside grip, 1 outside. Or do 21's inside then outside.

Why are 21s even useful? I learned from you guys that doing anything over 15 reps is basically muscular endurance and that I should do reps in the 1-6 range.

that's because biceps only make up 1/3rd of the arm mass.

Well one of my goals is to increase muscular endurance but I was just giving suggestions on the inside outside method.

I keep hearing this, but is there any proof? They take up maybe 2/5 (if you count the muscles) but the biceps in people look bigger than any of the triceps heads.

Meh I think it'd be better for the trainee to just do the inside/outside sets, and concentration if they wanted (although OP only wants wideness). So basically inner grip/outer grip changes. that's it.

Surely your triceps are more responsible for arm "size" and not biceps?

They are (or at least should be).
