So, I just finished with an awesome 5 hour migraine that was fucking hellish.

I only get them once every few months thankfully, though i can feel for the guys and gals who get em pretty regularly. My question is, are there any remedies to alleviate the pain?

My photo teacher told me drink as much caffeine as I could, and it seems to work a bit for me.

Heh. I just got one today. Fucking brutal. I can't get over this shit until I vomit everything I've eaten from morning til the migraine. It sucks ass. I get double vision and everything. Something that alleviated some of the pain is this dissolvable thing called Max--something, it is fucking expensive ($30 per pack of 3 TABLETS)

i rub eucalyptus oil into my temple, and inhale boiling hot water (hold a towel over it and stick your head under the towel) scented with some kind of tea. Generally I throw something together in 15mins cos I'm feeling too shitty to even think, inhale rub and go to bed.

Maxalt

I get them too, theres a WONDERFUL medication that works, I got it from my doc, its a quick dissolving tablet that doesnt need to be swallowed or any water, and it works in like 4 minutes or less.

I swear by em.

Ask your doc next time you go

Stop drinking caffeine entirely.

Talk to your doctor, not your photo teacher. Someone telling you to take an addictive stimulant while you may be experiencing some sort of withdrawal is a pretty dubious suggestion.

Hey, I don't drink soda at all save for migraine occasions, and it helps out a little. I talked to my doctor and he was pretty much "i dunnolol" and suggested a some stuff that didn't work. I'll try Maxialtalti.

bc powder works really well, you can buy it at like cvs and mix it with water and drink it
also, if you can find them, pain patches. not icy/hot, that'll fuck with you, but just a regular cooling patch that doesn't give off heat. strap one of those badboys to your forehead for a few hours.
magical.

Caffeine during a migraine? Thank god your photo teacher ain't a doctor. You'll feel better for a bit, until the effects wear off and the blood vessels constrict in your head and the pain ends up getting worse. Then there is the off chance you didn't drink enough water with the caffeine and you end up dehydrating yourself.
