I wrestled in high school. Are you a California wrestler? In California we recently started the body fat weight certification...I would recommend start working out right now...Some sort of cardio or HIIT. Drink lots of water. Since you're starting pretty early, you can keep your calories low but not too low.

You shouldn't get below 1500 calories per day, but if the time starts to come the week of and you're close to the weight, you're gonna have to crash diet. It's not healthy, but this is coming from a wrestler who crash dieted his way through high school wrestling. My caloric intake was maybe approaching 1000 for the week and I would drink tons of water, and then the last night and day before I would almost completely cut out drinking anything.

But if you're doing body fat test, you have to be hydrated. My dad is an official here in California and he does the weight certification. He told me that you don't need to drink much more than 2.5 bottles of water about an hour or two before to be properly hydrated for the hydration test, but it probably varies for each person. You're gonna want to get about 2.5 pounds below your weight though before you drink that water because it's going to be water weight that's going to be added onto the scale. Good luck

Weight train 3x a week full body to maintiain your strength. 9 lbs all depends on your currecnt weight. if you are 200lbs at 20% body fat its easy. 120 at 9% and we are in trouble.

Okay - since nobody's giving you a really good breakdown of this - I'll do it.
Metabolism 101 -
First thing - eat 5 times a day. Small meals, nothing fancy - about the size of your palm. Cut out anything that's shitty like candy and soda etc. Do NOT stop eating. That only helps out on the last day or so. Eating more often tells your body that it's OKAY to use your food as energy because it will just get more food later. If you just eat once a day your body will say "Oh fuck, I'm never gonna get food. I'm going to store this food and turn it into fat." You should still be taking in the same amount of food - just grazing throughout the day instead of eating it all at normal mealtimes. This helps A LOT. Do not skip that shit. If you want to cut weight and be STRONG you will do this. I swear to God, do not listen to your shitty high school buddies if they tell you not to eat. They're stupid. Eating more often boosts your metabolism - meaning you burn MORE CALORIES PER ACTION. That means that you will burn more calories during practice after eating the same amount of food - just at different intervals. It boosts your calorie deficit. Even though this is an already dying horse - EAT A LOT. 5 TIMES A DAY AT LEAST. BRING SNACK BARS TO CLASS. BRING A PIECE OF FRUIT. HAVE A GODDAMNED LUNCH PAIL OF TASTY TREATS THAT YOU CAN EAT THROUGH OUT THE DAY. ONCE EVERY 3 HOURS.

Hydration 101 -
Drink one gallon of water a day. Go to the gas station and buy a one gallon jug of water and then refill it every morning. This will make your body say "Oh wow, I get so much water...I have to pee ALL THE TIME"
You're always losing water. Always. When you breathe, when you sleep, when you walk, you're losing water. You have to keep yourself hydrated in order to perform well.
Weight cutting 101 -
This is the fun part. If you've been eating 5 times a day and drinking a gallon of water a day - you should be healthy and TRIM as fuck. Following a good schedule for food and water intake will cut down your body fat percentage like crazy, and that's what you want. You don't want to hover around your weight by being perpetually dehydrated or malnourished. When it's about time for your tournament - you just have to flush your system out.
3 days out from the weigh in - drink even more water than normal for the next day and a half. Then - stop drinking for 36 hours. That's when you start getting in the sauna, or pissing out your water weight. Your body will still be thinking that it always gets water and that it can pee whenever it wants to. Remember how it takes something like 3 days to die of dehydration? It only takes a day and a half to get enough out of your system to lose your weight and still be okay for the tournament/dual. The same time you stop drinking - stop eating. You will generally keep several pounds of shit that you haven't finished passing through in your system at all times. Remember – you lose weight when you sleep. If you wear a sweatshirt to bed you can lose up to 2 pounds. Count on it being just 1 in your calculations. If you need to weigh 149.9 and you weight 152 before bed – you MIGHT float the weight in your sleep, but you shouldn’t count on it entirely. I’ve seen people lose up to five pounds in a night – I personally have lost up to 3 and a half. Use your own judgment.

If you follow this basic program, 9 pounds is cake to cut. I’ve known guys that cut over 20 pounds for their tournaments doing basically this. I walk around just under 160 when I’m fat, but I could actually probably cut down to 140, though I prefer 145 if the weight class is available. The point is – I know what I’m talking about – and you will hear a lot of stupid shit in high school. I sucked at cutting weight when I wrestled back then. If you want any more information about this – post your e-mail address or instant messaging name and I’ll contact you and answer any questions.
