Yo /fit/ I need help

Former American football player here but recently ive ballooned up. I guess its cause im a huge eater but I seriously need to lose a little. I am 5'9 but weigh around 240. Since I already have some muscle cause of football I want to get around 200. Can you guys recommend some sort of daily regime with proper eating habits? I also have a bad problem with enegry. I seem to get tired during the day resulting in me taking naps. I really don't want to go out and buy supplements but if you guys recommend me a good one then I will. Please help!

For equipment I have:
Treadmill
Exercise Bike
Some free weights

Thanks.

maybe he might high school?

Though I played in high school and our coach was always on us all the time to be lifting and running. Fuck, we ran until someone threw up. That was the whole exercise. You run. You dont stop until someone literally throws up. Then you can stop. We also had mandatory weight lifting.

So what I'm really saying, tl;dr, is anyone on a football team at any time, has probably been taught how to exercise.

What a trip...Im in the same boat as you...5' 9, started at 239, trying to get to 190, lots of weightlifting back in the day (still have quite a bit of muscle) and football.

Currently I'm on day 8 of my diet and I've gone down to 232 - a lot of that is water weight but my body fat also dropped 2% (got one of those tanita scales).

I'm doing a strict low carb diet, am in ketosis and I'm doing cardio 3 times a week for 40 minutes (running stairs), weights 3 times a week, and I feel freaking great. I've spread out my meal to 5-6 small meals a day.

Also, big change...stopped drinking a min of a six pack of beer every day. That alone makes me feel awesome.

cut out carbs

only eat them when you're going to be burning them off

stay away from carbs at any cost!

eat meat!

eat vegetables!

fruits are good, their sugars are monosaccharide which your body quickly uses!

protein is good! you can survive on protein alone!

big breakfast + small dinner!

don't eat a lot before you go to bed.

don't even eat before you go to bed!

You tell him to stay away from carbs twice, then two lines later tell him to eat carbs.

lolWUT

And you can't survive on protein alone. Fat is essential as well.

OP here

What would you suggest for a low carb breakfast?
Also doing 10 minutes of running and 10 minutes of bike daily, does it sound good?
