Everytime I do deadlifts, I get a strong pain on the outside of the hip and thigh when im standing straight. Anyone had this? What could cause this?

You're doing them wrong. Your feet need to be pointing straight ahead of you and directly under your shoulders. Do not bow your legs when lifting.
