sup /fit/?

Nice to see you again.

I'm going to start running at night. Any tips?

I haven't run in a long, long time so I don't want to push myself too hard. I have an average to rubbish level of fitness (forty minutes of cardio doesn't phase me).

Please give me some tips for running.

do you have access to a track at night? if not, wear a shitload of reflective clothing, and run on non-busy roads. i'm guessing you're british - is cell phone use banned for drivers? if so, then that might increase your chances of not getting run over.

I live out of the way of main roads and there's a wide road, so I should be fine. But thanks for that advice, I almost forgot!

Put the left foot in front of the right foot (bend your knees as well), then, shift your weight to the left foot, then put the right in front of the left foot.

Its very similar to walking so I suggest practicing walking first. Once you master walking you simply increase the speed. Make sure you move your arms as you run, or walk fast, because it helps.

Since you will be running at night be sure to have a blue print of your running zone so you know where all the dips and holes may be. I also suggest eating 1g of carrot for every pound you weigh to increase your night vision.

When one walks or runs, they tend to sweat. Stand in the sun for 1 hour and see how much your body sweats and multiple that by 3 to decide how much water you should bring with you on your 40-60 minute run.

If you are careful and don't injure yourself learning to walk (falling is common) you should be up and running in a few weeks.

First of call running at night is extremely dangerous. You can get hit by a car & no help around, raped, robbed, murdered etc... We've all heard about the dangers of doing it, why run at night?

If your set on running at night, find a friend to do it with.
