cardio + weightlifting Anonymous
im going to assume taking a MA (muay thai specifically) is considered cardio.

anyways, i want to gain a bit of bulk as well as cut my fat a bit. however, doesnt cardio kind of "go against" bulking? i mean, to bulk, you need to eat alot of calories, but to cut, you need to cut down.

i have also heard that doing cardio + heavy lifting makes for bad bulking and cutting, because the body is "confused" if it should use its fat or conserve it or whatever.

i usually weight lift before and after lessons.

so is doing cardio + weight lifting at the same time less effective as going through a period of cutting, then going through a period of bulking?

if you're smart enough to be able to say something like 'a period of cutting then a period of bulking' you're smart enough to know the answer to your own question before you post

your question is flawed. depends what your goals are

want to bulk but minimize fat gain? then some cardio's good...but, doing HIIT cardio is the best.

want to cut but minimize muscle loss? more cardio's good, but lifting weights is still important.
