sup /fit/
i'm 6'1" and <60kg, meaning I'm a skinny motherfucker.
i walk into the doctors yesterday cos i've got the flu, and she thought i was fucking anorexic.
i can't help this shit, my metabolism is fucking lightning quick.
so i looked into ways to gain weight.
lurking /fit/, i found out that squatz and oatmeal are my best bet.
in all seriousness, i guess i just need to eat a shitload and do a bit of working out.
skinny guys need motivation too, i just don't know where to find it. my girlfriend thinks i'm attractive, and aside from occasional "he's so skinny"s from relatives and parental acquaintances, no-one cares.
so, /fit/, motivate me. what will i gain from not being a skinny motherfucker.

go watch some Ultimate Fighter, eat some steak, drink some hot sauce and man up.

if that fails. if you want to bulk up, make your diet better, try having 5 meals smaller meals per day instead of the 2-3 big ones. Each meal consisting of high protein, good carbohydrates, (junk food wont help you put on weight) good fats/oils (nuts, seeds). Protein supplements can be good as well, as in protein shakes etc.

Getting in good physical shape and toning your body is not a short term goals. Youre just going to have to understand that it takes time and if you can't then you will be a skinny impatient prick forever.

AND if you want to bulk up, when you do weights, make sure its high weights, low repetitions. find an exercise, find a weight that you can only do 6-8 reps on, and do that for 3 sets.

and if you want examples of protein and carbs.

tuna, red meat, chicken breast, turkey are all good sources of protein.

good carbs are wholemeal bread, wholemeal pasta/rice.

First of all, you need to fucking EAT. Meat, pasta, whatever, just eat lots and often, because if it's your natural metabolism that is fucking your shit up, then you won't be getting fucking anywhere even if you lift like a crazy-ass mofo 24/7.

Rescue Dawn was a great film.

Anyway, you seem quite unhappy with the fact you're underweight. Not insecure, but you'd probably be happier if you were a little heavier and stronger, right? Well that's what you'd have to gain. Not to mention exercise will do much for your general health and is a great way to relieve stress and anxiety.

And you're right, you have to eat. Alot. Like, perpetually shovel that shit down. Find a beginners 5x5 program. I'm a skinny fuck myself, slowly working my way up from 130lbs to 150lbs. I don't plan to stop until I reach 190lbs. A few staple foods I can recommend apart from the obvious that you can throw back as much as you need of to supplement your diet:-

Spinach. Protein, fibre, and all in a green vegetable. Ideal.
As you said, oatmeal, chug whenever needed.
Eggs. Cheap, convenient. If you don't live alone buy your own stash and threaten those who attempt to steal your eggs. Scramble for a snack between meals.
Nuts of all descriptions. Peanut butter works.
Invest in a whey powder, mix with milk, consume after training.

Not OP, but topic is relevant to my interests. Also a newfag to weights, so I must ask:
-what's the difference between a rep and a set?

5'11" and ~60kg here.

What are the best supplements for weight gain besides whey protein shakes? I've slowly been putting on weight by working out and eating constantly, but I also lose weight insanely fast. Should I be using creatine or some kind of HGH?

A rep (repitition) is a single movement of the weight. A set is the number of reps done before rest. Most beginners strength programs involve five sets of five reps, increasing the weight for each set, with 30-60 seconds of rest between.

That's what I thought. Just wasn't sure what the rest period was. So what if I have it in me to do more sets? Am I supposed to call it a night anyways or keep going?
