Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday: 1 mile run (increasing it by 0.125 miles each week), 4 minutes of HIIT (increasing it by 3 seconds each week), another 1 mile run (increasing it by 0.125 miles each week), and ending with http://www.videofitness.com/reviews/horton-p90x-ab.php

Tuesdays, Thursdays, Sundays: 3 mile run, increasing it by 0.25 miles per week.

Assuming I'm eating healthily enough, is this a decent cardio routine to follow? Too much? or too less?

3 seconds......... So in 20 weeks you'll be doing 5 minutes.... Add a minute a week......

schedule a day off dude.

Also, protien after a long run helps with recovery. Most runners shun sups, but it'll help.
Drink a gallon of water a day and stretch before and after. Good luck!

Also, since it is relevant to my interests, what shoe are you running in?

im not the OP but i used to run in a pair of nike frees, just switched em out last week when the fabric ripped off the heal cause the cloth is so thin for a pair of Mizuno wave creations. They feel great on my feet so far.

Lol, it was the Free v.5 or 7 wasn't it? Yeah that happens on all of them.

Mizuno are nice. Lightweight because the midsole isn't as dense, so they don't last as long, and a little snug, but good nontheless.

yea i like the mizunos i got right now because i got real high arches in my feet, and they seem to fit/support them really well. Plus im not gettin shin splints anymore like i was from my worn out nikes, cause they had like no sole left in the shoe anymore.

I'm running in New Balance 767's!

How comfortable are New Balance running shoes generally? My feet are fairly wide and are prone to blisters on the heel, i was recommended to buy New Balance running shoes as they come in sizes for wide feet.

I'd say they're pretty wide overall. If you're buying off a website though, I'd make it a point to always go half a size up.

Ok thanks.

Take thursdays and sundays off. Try weightlifting also
>> OP
Hey, /fit/. Some more concrete advice would be greatly appreciated.

too much cardio. you need to add some weights to help build the muscle around your bones and joints or there is a very high probability that you will eventually suffer from injury. this will also help your cardio become more effective.

How much weight should I add? Should I start with the Rippetoe Starting Strength at 70-80% one rep weight, or...?
