What electric shaver do the men of /fit/ use? I'm sick of forking over money to gillette for those overpriced fucking blades.

I gotta be honest, I never enjoyed an electric. They leave me with a wicked rash/burn...

I use stuff that you can learn about here.

www.badgerandblade.com

it's a little obscure, but works. As long as you use restraint, IT CAN be cheaper per shave after a little equipment. It can also be a horribly expensive "hobby".

Epilate your face.

Electric razors suck. Old safety razors are cheap as hell, give a better shave, and don't need a battery.

Been thinking on getting myself one of these (pic)... I'm a Gillette man as well right now, but I have had interests in a cut throat for quite the while. And from what I have heard they say its on a different level of shaving experiences.

If you aren't a metrosexual, don't even bother. Using a straight razor will add another 20 minutes to your morning routine. On the other hand, if you are a metro, it tends to work out pretty well.

Using a deadly weapon to shave is something metrosexuals do now?

I second the use of a safety razor. Once you get the proper technique down, it's the best shave you'll ever have.

Also, be sure to use a brush and good shaving cream. None of that funky smelling blue goop.

You don't actually get a better shave with a straight razor than with a standard blade cartridge. Instead, it's just a way to be uberpretentious while shaving and take up a lot of goddamn time. So, yes.

You do get a better shave. The shave may not be noticeably closer sometimes, but it causes far less irritation and ingrown hairs. It also forces you to slow down and do the job right.

Hahaha no. The difference is like between a CD and a vinyl. There may be some scientifically measurable difference but nothing meaningful other than the ancient thing costs a fuckton more in itself and accessories and requires extra effort, so you appreciate it more. Which is pretty fucking stupid btw.

If you replace your normal razor blades often enough then the difference is negligible.

i just got an electric razor recently and i really suck at using it

might convert back to razor / cream

I got some kind of Philips electric, tried it for two weeks, hated it every time. Fuck electric shavers.

Fuck yeah obsidian! It adds 6 hours to your morning routine but you get used to it and the results speak for themselves. It is a pretty hardcore thing to do though so it's only good if you care about your appearance.

Norelco SmartTouch...best 150 dollars I've ever spent. Does it get an amazingly close shave...no. But it only takes a minute or two to do and has lasted me about 3 years so far.
