So /fit/, I wear a retainer at night, and it has started to reek horribly. I brush my teeth at night and I brush the retainer, but it does nothing for the stench or the white buildup of bacteria. I tried some denture cleaner stuff where you drop it in, but that didn't seem to help. I've resorted to using dishwashing soap but it leaves a nasty taste even after rinsing it well.

Do you guys have any methods for cleaning dental equipment?

It works, and I'd let the retainer sit in listerine, but I discovered that the retainer was actually dissolving in the alcohol. And I don't really wanna melt it away.

No idea. In water they just foam up and make a cleaning solution.
