So there's a gym in the south bay area that's installing an outdoor 'cardio obstacle course', which supposedly can give you an hour's worth of running compressed into 20 minutes. Some of the obstacles on the flyer:

1. 40 foot rope wall
2. Running through a 1 foot deep 100 foot long sand pit trap
3. 2 rope swings
4. 40 foot fake rock climber wall
5. 2 50 pound weighted door, to lift up
quoted: "and much more!"

Sounds like pretentious bullshit to me, but is it an actual workout?

An hours worth of running? Seriously doubt it.

Maybe an hour worth of light jogging. You could probably accomplish the same CARDIO with a fast paced run or sprint exercise in sets.

Of course, you are also building muscle while doing some of these exercises, plus you could train for like American Gladiator or something.

Maybe if you do said course 5 or 6 times.

Meh, figured as much. I suppose it'd be good to mix up a workout, not worth the gym membership though.

Yeah, you run the course over and over again for about 20 minutes.
