Dandruff Anonymous
/fit/, any suggestions on getting rid of dandruff? I've tried Head and Shoulders so far, but that stuff sucks.

You gotta use head and shoulders every single day. There's no way to get rid of dandruff completely.

I got rid of my dandruff by taking a week off and not using shampoo. using watered down cider vinegar to wash my hair, and only washing it every other day. :3

Seriously. It helped me.

Head and Shoulders does suck. Selsun Blue works the best for me, but you have to use it at least 5 times a week or it'll come back.

Garnier Dercos.
Works like a wonder.

Head and shoulders is terrible. I had really bad dandruff, just use Neutrogena Extreme Dandruff shampoo with Coal tar. It helps my scalp for a little over 5 days. It smells like ass, so I only use it once/twice a week.

To sum this thread up:
"Head and Shoulders sucks. Here, use $brand_name instead, it worked for me, and I know it'll work for you. I guarantee it."

I have seborrheic dermatitis, which is pretty much dandruff, only worse.

I use ketoconazole 1%, brand name Nizoral. It's fucking expensive at $10 for a 4oz bottle, but works really well. If you have it really bad you can ask for a prescription for 2%.

Go to a dermatoligist, especially to make sure it's not psoriasis. I remember I got what I thought was just dandruff at 4, but a little later found out it was psoriasis. If it is psoriasis, you'll get some really tough steroid shampoo which will help, though there is no real cure for it.

If it's not psoriasis, you'll probably still get some strong shampoo to help.

You can soak your scalp in coconut oil, and after a few days of regular washing you should see huge results.
But see a doctor to make sure it's just dandruff. Infections of the scalp are more common than you would think and generally start off with flakes.
