Hi guys.
I'm a 115 pound girl, 5'1, with a bit of a belly. I'm looking to loose weight in that area. Any suggestions?

I've decided today that I'm going to walk a mile everyday. Will that help?

also, change your diet if you want to lose weight. That's the biggest obstacle for most people, especially chicks. Spread meals out, etc. Eat a lot, and you'll lose that shit. walking will help, the same way studying for a final for 5 minutes will help. You should do more exercise if you want to see a noticeable difference.

This is the most common type of thread.

1. You can't "spot weight reduce", i.e. fat is a general energy resource (think bucket of water, you cant choose which water molecules you scoop out) and it is generally accepted that it is genetically predetermined where you will lose it from. That is; situps will not make you lose fat from your stomach by virtue of being an abdominals exercise.

2. Weightlifting is for women too (as earlier anon says). You don't have testicles so you aren't capable of extensive hypertrophy in the way men are (plus you wouldn't do it enough to get in that state). Remember the "female bodybuilders" are injecting themselves with enough testosterone to lay down a bull.

3. Fastest way to lose weight is by sustained high heart rate. Try swimming or running (bollocks to jogging).

I'm about the same stats for you, and walking around didn't do crap for me.

If you want to notice a much better difference, do some running as suggested.

I walk/jog around three miles a day with my dog on top of any other exercise I do; if you've got the time to walk a mile, put some other clothes on and jog for the same amount of time. One mile at walking pace really won't do anything.
