I got a question for the health nuts, is it possible to balance a healthier diet and lifestyle without going completely crazy in terms of healthy food and rigid fitness? Can I still enjoy my ice cream, chicken wings, and french fries in moderation without going full-on egg whites and whey protein? Does a sensible balance exist, or is it truly one way or another?

I'm 22, 5'11" and 260lbs with roughly 30% body fat on a, thankfully, larger body frame so it doesn't look completely bad. I eat a lot of junk food and live a mostly sedentary life, but it's hard to motivate myself to jump from my extreme bad lifestyle to this extreme health lifestyle, especially since so much of it relies upon repetitious menus and strict calorie management

A fat fuck with an exscuse, nothing changes.

Get a life you fat sack of shit, go outside moar.

I am 6'2" and was 260 about 6 months ago. I ate the same shit you just described. I quit eating unhealthy food and started jogging and doing light lifting. Now I am 225lbs, I can run 2.5 miles in 20 minutes, I added about 50 pounds to every lift, I look 50x better, I feel great, and I can't even look at that shit you call food.

Either enjoy your fat ass for the rest of your life, OR SHUT THE FUCK UP AND DO WORK

It takes about two weeks to form or break a habit. Give it two weeks hardcore, see how you feel, and then if it's not working out, go back to killing yourself.

"We've got tastebuds for a reason and we only get one shot to live on this planet, so there has to be a way to eat tasty stuff and still feel good and live healthy, but where's the sane medium, where's that point between enjoying yourself and killing yourself."

Dude, see, you've got this idea that "eating healthy" = bullshit like rice cakes & bean sprouts. Get some learning and get it straight.

Learn about 40/30/30 macronutrient ratios and Paleo eating (you don't have to necessarily follow those, but be aware of their concepts). The staples of a good diet are veggies and meat.

My food tastes awesome. I have big bowls of mixed veggies w/cajun spice and chicken w/BBQ sauce. Or eggs & veggies. Or half Cheerios, half Fiber One mixed w/vanilla protein powder and cranberries. Best cereal, and tastes great. Oatmeal w/milk & protein powder and frozen berries melting in it.
I'm cutting right now so I don't eat a ton, but this is what I eat. When it's time to gain, I will eat pretty much the same stuff but more of it. EZ.

>You can have a hamburger, you just to cook that shit yourself and not slather in in mayo.

Seriously. Big Macs, Whoppers, etc. taste like shit anyway.

To OP:
when people of /fit/ say NO THATS BAD and shit they just say that for your own good. of course it is okay within moderation, actually its good for you to be eating like pigshit once in awhile. it keeps your body on its toes. but when we say no we dont eat blahblah because its not healthy we arent saying that we never eat that shit. i eat chips sometimes but when im on here i make fun of fat fucks who say OMG I JUST ATE 2 BAGS OF CHIPS.

A lot of /fit/ people started fat. But it doesn't take long to stop thinking like that when you lost 10 pounds. You realize that that food is horrid. Only fat people crave fat food. Not the /fit/.

No. You can't get perfect results with things in moderation. However, you can get decent results with things in moderation.

"Only fat people crave fat food. Not the /fit/."

I crave - fuck that, I eat - fat food all the time and I am /fit/. ITS CALLED EXERCISE AND BEING SMART! AS LONG AS YOU BURN MORE THAN YOU CONSUME YOU WON'T GAIN WEIGHT! RAGEEEEEEE!!!!

all the fatasses/former fatasses on /fit/ think that if you eat anything unhealthy you will be a fat piece of shit. In reality, you can eat pretty shittily and still be healthier than most people if you ACTUALLY EXERCISE!

all the people that come to /fit/ and post about how they have decided to lose weight and are trying to figure out what to eat make me rage when they say "oh yeah and I started walking on the treadmill once a week" at the end of their god damn 10 paragraph essay on nutrition.

FUCK!

don't listen to healthy-food fags. Exercise > *.

I'm bulking up right now, have been for 4 months. I eat a shitload of food. If it's edible, i'll eat it. I haven't gained a single pound and i'm getting stronger. Just use the excess calories.
