do you guys ever take a week or more off ?

ive been training real hard for 8 months almost every day or every other day and i feel that I need to get a shitload of rest

just feeling overly sore and generally real exhausted lately, whereas when I used to lift or do cardio I would feel very energetic throughout the day

and i'm pretty sure I'm not sick either

It sounds like you're overtraining.
taking a week off is exactly what you need.

you shouldn't work out every day. you should take at least 2 days off a week.

if you were to take 5 days off, you'd probably be good. don't lose your will power, though.

You are definitely working out too hard.
I'm sorry to say, but if you gave yourself one day of rest between workouts, you'd have been were you are now in terms of gains within 4 months.

When you overwork yourself your body can't repair. A weeks rest should be taken at least every 12 weeks.

Overtraining can be pretty dangerous. You can get stress fractures and joint damage and all kinds of bad things that'll cripple you up when you're old. It also depresses your immune system, not good going into cold and flu season.
