I'm going to exceed miles this run or die trying. At the beginning of October I could not complete a mile jog without resting. See you when I get back, /fit/.

Just mental barrier OP, Run that mile, then run some more.

Run as long a distance as you can. Then when you're done, do some up hill sprints (running at a mild pace back down)

I usually run 2 miles and finish off with 6 reps of up hill sprints.

OP here. I left out the word "5" before the word "miles." The goal springs from the fact the beach is 5 miles from where I live and I want to be able to run there, at least one way. I ended up running 5.7 because there was a gated community google earth didn't know about. (about a 5 minutes break in there because I was deciding what to do when I hit the gate - I decided to keep going on a side street and see where it took me.)

It was clearly more than my body was prepared for, as I am now limping around, but it was a good exercise in discipline. If I have anyone's attention, how the fuck am I supposed to fix my new found lower back problem?
