How do I stop being emo?

Is there any food or anything I can do to just get more motivation and be in a better mood/ less paranoid? I've been like this for 3 month and it's just destroying my social life.

I don't want to go on anti depressants.

I was like you OP. I know life can be a bitch, the best way to stop being emo is just to realize that no one gives a fuck, and that there are plenty of other people in worse situations. If you find yourself in a shitty situation, you're the only one who can get out of it, so don't wait around for help.

Unhealthy food can't fill a void, no matter how hard you try. Healthy food gives you nutrition and basically makes you think clearer and feel better. Hope it helps.

Just stop it. Seriously, cut that shit out. I've gone through a few periods of depression and the best advice that I can give you is try to stop being depressed. When I was depressed I had no energy, so I tended to mope around and be more depressed. You have to try really hard to pick yourself up. No matter what you're depressed about, there are a few things that can help. The easiest is to do something that will make you feel better about yourself. Get a haircut, get new clothes, start exercising, basically anything that betters yourself in some way. If you're happier with who you are, your mood will lighten. Find a hobby or activity that makes you happy. It doesn't have to be anything crazy or new, if playing video games makes you happy then do that for a few hours a week. DON'T BE A VAGINA. If you mope too much and neglect work, school, social life, and your health then life will just get shittier and you will be in a worse mood. The big thing is to try and focus on what it is that's making you depressed. Do you want a girlfriend, better grades, focus in life?

tl;dr keep doing maintenance on your life so that it's still good when you come out of your depression phase.

Motivation, no one has it. I'm a 3rd year college student and I've been having trouble staying motivated. The advice I got today was to think of a hero or a goal that I wanted. No matter what it is in your life, you need to think of the end goal to motivate yourself. Don't think of the maze, think of the piece of cheese at the end. Personally, I'm still trying to figure out what my piece of cheese is. But the other advice I got was to just do the best you can in life where you are. The guidance counselor that told me this got kicked out of two colleges, started working, then came back and is now working on her PhD.

I like this and this is what I fear; feel better and all of a sudden realized FUCKED everything about my life and seeing this I go back into a depression.

Yeah I wish I still had a my GF, yeah I wish I had better grades I have to apply for Grad school next year...all this shit is just ADDing to something else I dont even know what man.

Spend time outdoors everyday and make sure you get some sun. It does wonders.
Take a bike ride can see or something to clear your head, and stop thinking about yourself so damn much. Go do some charity work so yo you probably have it much better than many other people out in the world.

Also, remember to take care of yourself. :)

I'm the guy that posted the big ass 2 post advice chunk. I kind of feel your pain. I'm in my 3rd year of College as a bio major and I'm about a quarter behind in credits right now. I keep going through phases of not caring about school, worrying about what career I want, if I even want this major, what I'll do with my degree, among other life problems not related to school. It got to the point were I'd skip classes and not study at all. Luckily I'm smart enough to still have a 2.8-2.9 GPA despite screwing up a quarter or two. But I'm still hoping that I'll really pull my shit together.

As some other Anon said, sunlight.
Start doing hard cardio. Honestly. I fell into this horrible, depressed, masochistic state and started working out to the point I would nearly collapse on my way back to the car. Every time I felt like I'd worked as hard as I possibly could I could finally calmed down and looked at whatever was bothering me with a clear head.
