To be fair, while most people here just sit around, fap, and eat junk food, some people gain weight even with exercise and diet.

One of my friends has a thyroid problem, so she has to exercise and not any any sweets at all just to maintain her weight.

Word, muscle weighs twice as much as fat.
Stupid fat people should concentrate on losing FAT, not weight...
Even though in the long run you'll lose both, you'll gain weight after you lose fat in the early stages.

I've lost 30 pounds while doing minimal exercise and just changing my dietary intake. I used to be 180

You know what? FUCK YOU OP!!! FUCK YOU!!!

I used to be 60 fucking pounds over weight.
I lost all 60 of those by basically becoming slightly 'manorexic', ended up slightly *underweight* and was thankfully stopped @ my annual checkup (you mean I should eat normal, now? Alright!!)

Yeah, we all know the 'secret' to weight loss is balancing calories in vs calories out, but you know what else? The human body is designed to horde energy in the form of fat. It is designed to crave *originally* scarce nutrients like sugars, fatty meat, and salt.

Weight loss can be one of the hardest fucking things for the average 1st world person because its not *just* about a lifestyle change, its about fighting mother-fucking nature. Not to mention "stopping eating" will slow the metabolism and increase energy hoarding. Oh yeah, that's mother-fucking nature again...
..AND that's assuming ordinary chemistry without any of the thyroid problems or other shit people can have.

Now I will admit almost everybody should be more active and should eat better, but your over generalization is just retarded. Fuck *YOU*, OP, fuck you.

I lost weight, and it wasn't really hard. There's a lot of ways to do it, and some really are hard. Some take a lot of energy, effort, or time. I just changed the way I was thinking (won't go into detail) and I had no issues, no drugs, no exercise (should though), no crazy diets, and no being hungry or starving myself.

It did however take a great deal of personal insight and such, to an extent I don't expect the average person will do it that way easily, sadly.

It's hard, but it's not hard. It's like dealing with an addiction, all you have to do is stop. If you tell that to somebody with an addiction, it won't sound so easy though. Then there's always those who have the willpower to break an addiction relatively easily, and wonder why nobody else has such willpower.

Why don't people here have more willpower or self-awareness?

I don't like to force myself to do anything, and I didn't. I just cooperated with myself (not treating myself/my body as an enemy to force into submission, for example) to achieve a common goal of self-improvement - as stupid as I'm sure that sounds.

all the stuff that's "low this" and "low that" usually have substitutes and fillers. in effect, your $$ is better spent on healthy whole foods in the first place, instead of fillers. More nutrients, better value. Oh, and more raw food than cooked in your diet.

Eat only the fattiest meat you can get for a while and your hunger will take care of itself. No, it won't cause heart disease.

Your post reeks with elitism and Californian-Buddhist bullshit, but I'm intrigued. Explain more.

>Just stop eating if you wanna lose weight.

Counter-productive. That just makes your body go into "starvation mode". Sure, if you stay in starvation mode long enough, you'll lose weight. Too bad you lose muscle weight first.

Enjoy your 45% body fat and 15% lean muscle mass.

I did have self awareness. I knew I was hungry for things like meat and butter but I avoided them because of everyone knows fat makes you fatter and can kill you, right? LOL. Once I ironed out a low carb diet for myself I suddenly felt satisfied by food for the first time in my life.

a body builders diet of c/f/p at 40/30/30 would be considered low carb.

refined sugar is in god damned everything. FuCkInG EvErYtHiNG. Jesus tap dancing Christ. when i took out refined sugar of my diet completely, put instead fruits there that we're never there before, I lost 15% weight in a month. if you fight us TALKING ABOUT KNOWLEDGE here, then GTFO out of board designed for this.

I DIDN'NT KNOW TO DO THAT before learning it in nutrition class. So, yes, you're entitled to say fuck you, but in return we various anon say fuck you back.

The only reason your body would excessively hoarde energy as fat is if your ancestors were shitty hunters.

Man, it's fucking obvious, you don't need a class for that shit. This is what you do.
1. Look at ingredients.
2. If it says high fructose corn syrup or sugar, THEN DONT EAT

The greatest advice I've ever gotten about eating healthy is to eat what your body tells you to.

People are constantly taking health fads as ultimate truth when they have less basis than astrology. Anyone who says low carb needs to be hit with a tack hammer because they are an idiot.

Fat, cholesterol, carbohydrates (incl. sugar) are needed on a daily basis by the human body.

The vast majority of fat people cause it themselves through being weak of mind. Nearly all of them will claim they have some chemical imbalance blah blah blah the blame isn't mine.

The few people who actually have a chemical imbalance, or some form of disability that prevents them from losing the weight have my sympathy -but those people are very few.

Looking back at it, it does doesn't it, lol. I didn't mean it that way, but also don't feel like going into it right now. It's hard to put into words, and nothing is proven, and 4chans like hard facts

raising this thread from the dead.
i think you're completely right. but to elaborate on that more, one must understand that the body has to be aware of what food it needs. for example a person who's been drinking soda all their life, is going to have a body that is unaware that water it far better for it. if that person starts to drink water in place of soda for a week the body will shift to what is healthier and their taste will change. nearly everyone i know can't drink soda anymore and things like mcdonalds are completely out of the question
