My ribcage sticks out a lil further then my belly..kinda like a Hulk Hogan stomach if you know what I mean. Why is this? Will it go down if I work out my core is it based on my genetics?

I'm not sure. I have a really wide ribcage as well, so much so that you would think I was skinnier than I actually am if you saw me without a shirt on.

I think it's just the genetic shape of your body. It can be obviously made to look different if you work out your core.

Yes it is hereditary. You might have slight pectus excavatum. Completely normal, will not 'go down' with exercise because it is bone structure determined, not muscle.

holy shit I was about to make this exact post.
I have the same issue. From the front, it's not noticable at all, but from the sides it can look rather ghastly.

Are you sure it's not a posture problem, though? I've been trying to figure out what it is myself. I guess I'm just gonna have to develop huge pecs in order to sort it out.

What happens if you flex your abs to make them straight between your ribs and pelvis?

My glorious onepack becomes visible.

But do you become more... cylindrical?

Cylinders look like crap. Work out your chest and enjoy your accentuated pecs.

Not...entirely sure what that's supposed to mean? If I let my back hunch over like it normally does when I flex, my rib sticking out isn't all that noticable. When I keep good posture though, it still sticks out, although maybe not as much as it used to?

idk.
