Tendons Tom Jones
I am currently trying to lose weight and get in shape. I have been losing weight pretty fast and have been working hard to increase my fitness and overall athletic capabilities. I have been doing a lot of swimming and uphill jogging, which I’m guessing probably puts a lot of stress on my Achilles tendons, plus I have been trying to stretch my legs as well.

All this exercise and stretch has I believe overstretched my tendons and waking up this morning I can hardly walk. Should I see a doctor or do I just need rest for a while? I mean I can still move my toes and everything; it is just really swollen, sore and tender.

Also my running shoes are about 8 years old and have holes in the soles from overuse, yet I cannot really afford new shoes at this time, how much of a contributing factor to my pain could these improper shoes be? Do I need special insoles or is this injury due to improper stretching.

Could be stretching. And Don't run uphill if it hurts your joints fatty. Try running on the beach in the sand. Low impact + more resistance = win
