hey /fit/
I have a foot with no toes on it, wasn't an accident, how it happened isn't important. I've had it my whole life and I've never really noticed any problems (It doesn't stop me from doing any of the things I love). But lately I've started snowboarding, Which takes alot of toe work, and instead of reducing pressure and applying pressure with my toes I have to physically pull my foot up and.. Unsuccessfully turn.
On a less important note, I walk with a slight limp that I've just recently noticed.
Podiatrists (is that the universally used term?) have consistently and continuously fail me, giving me shitty insoles that hurt and don't solve anything.
Does /fit/ have any suggestions or solutions to fix or amend this problem?

tl;dr, no toes on foot, having trouble snowboarding and has limp. Halp?

Considering the average /fit/fag has 10 toes, I don't think we can help.

If snowboarding requires toe control, your only option would be to devise some sort of cybernetic device attached to your toeless foot to compensate. Of course I know exactly jack shit about snowboarding, so I may not be the best guy to ask.

As for the limp, it may be possible to cover it up with practice, if it's connected to your lack of toes. Just practice, and even film yourself walking if you can. It's most likely a symmetry issue and you're trying to compensate, so you may be able to even yourself out.

Is your toeless foot shorter (as in it's just as if your toes are missing) or the same size (like your toes are fused together or something)?

If it's shorter maybe you can see about like some sort of hinged toe replacement. It could just be one big wedge you attach to the edge of your foot and it'll flop around but only to a certain extent, just like real toes. (I don't even think it'd have to be anything but one piece...maybe 2 pieces to distinguish from left and right pressure?)

I have no idea how you'd go about engineering something like that, but it's the only idea I've got.

can we get a picture?
