I have a lump on the back of my neck similar to this. The photo isn't of me but it's the first result that came up on Google images and I photoshopped it to look like the back of my neck when viewed side on.

Anyone know what causes this? Bad posture, etc? I don't know, and I'm terribly self-conscious. Any help as to what it is/what I can do to help it would be much appreciated. It doesn't hurt, and I can feel my spine right where the lump is - it isn't just a ball of fatty tissue.

Thank you in advance.

I had something similar and asked on here long time ago, somebody provided me with this link:

I was considering going to see a physio about it when I had time, but just by doing exercises, and making sure my laptop and stuff where roughly eye level, it seems to have gotten better.

Do you think I could ever rid of it completely? I feel like it's ruining my life.

Not sure, but I would guess so, just start doing exercises and try to always keep your neck in good posture.

A good exercise I read was to lie down with a pillow, and push your head as hard as you can into the pillow, that apparently strengthens the related muscles. Just make sure you use a thick enough pillow lol
