Hai thar /fit/.

I have backne. It's disgusting, and I'm always embarrassed to take my shirt off in public, but I don't know how to get rid of it. My diet isn't terrible, but it could be better. I do drink sodas a bit more often than I should. I shower daily. Actually, since the backne breakouts started, I shower almost twice daily, but it won't go away. Any advice?

Pic related. Very similar to mine. Mine's not quite as bad as that yet.

I have some backnee as well but it improved a lot when I let whatever body wash I was using sit for a few minutes. Now mostly I just have the dark spot remainders.

I had bad backne throughout high school. Worst of all, I was on my swim team...it sucked.

Anyway, if nothing over-the-counter seems to work, go on Accutane. That's what I did, and my only regret is that I hadn't done it sooner. I still have scars all over my back from my acne before the treatment. The worst of my acne was cystic, and no superficial treatment is going to cure that.

Be sure to take care of yourself if while you're on accutane. It has its side effects, but if you're careful, you'll be fine.

I'm guessning there's not much you can do about the scars?

Agreed. When all else fails (as it did for me) get accutane asap. It's incredible.

There may be some treatments you can look into, but it's not something I'm really concerned about at the moment for two reasons:

1. I still get some acne, so I don't want to worry about getting rid of the scars if they could just come back.

2. Time is a pretty good cure. Although I went on Accutane primarily to treat my body acne, my face wasn't all that great either, though it wasn't as bad. My face started to look really clear after a few months off Accutane, and the scars on my back are doing better, even though they're still plenty visible.
