Oh ok.

Do you boulder, or do you prefer to climb on belay? If you like top rope climbing, I recommend getting out and doing some real rock climbing. If you like bouldering more, gym climbing is alright. Either way, get out and feel some rock. It's great to do both.

Oooh, rock climbing thread.

You started indoor climbing right? Why not ask some of the people at your gym to take you on an outing?


I personally prefer laced climbing shoes, because I just like that extra bit of fit and control you have. Although I've owned both laced and velcro (those sportivas, in fact), and the convenience of just slipping shoes on with velcro is actually one of those little blessings you don't realize until you stop using them.

Just curious OP, what level climber are you? Compared to a lot of sports and activities, I love the idea of conquering routes after endless and mindnumbingly painful tries and failures.
