Creatine Anonymous
So have been speculating on starting to take creatine. Right now I take only a protien powder (which doesnt have creatine). I was wondering how /fit/'s experiences with creatine were?? (I'm a 20/m too if that helps)

Also I hear its hard on your kidneys, however I drink a lot of water so I don't know if this is a problem, but I hear then you become bloated when you do this...

Been on and off creatine for a few months now.

Never had anything side effects or ill feelings from it. I drink about 8 pints of water a day.

I take 2.5g a day which is a pretty low amount and I have no bloating or weight gain due to water weight (I drink shitloads of water so I generally hold less anyway) but all my lifts have increased and just generally feel like i can throw out more reps.

yeah, it definitely helps me pump out more reps. Size is coming on nicely too but thats not just down to the creatine, you have to eat right too.

FINE MOTHER FUCKER!

Creatine is fine. There have been no results showing that taking it as directed has any effect on kidneys over time.
>TAKING IT AS DIRECTED

Yes it does help and is good stuff. Some people take it for 2 weeks, then off for two weeks, then back on etc. Cycling.

The only thing that may happen is dehydration from all the water the muscles take while on creatine, so make sure you drink enough. Don't be fooled into thinking the weight from creatine is water weight, it's in your muscles and helps them recover and such.

Someone else can fill in anything I missed, going to eat.

You don't have to worry about a load cycle with Creatine Ethyl Esther. The molecules are absorbed a lot easier. You can take it when you feel like you need it, or all the time. Typically you just take it about a half hour or a whole hour before your workout and then right after. As opposed to taking the monohydrate like 3 times a day for a week and then twice a day for 2 weeks.

I started out using monohydrate. After using CEE(Creatine Ethyl Esther) it's just a whole lot more convenient.

But for creatine in general, I found that I could pump out significantly more reps when I was on creatine.

5 grams a day, everyday, fuck cycling, fuck all of that rubbish, the only sideffects are an increased ego by jumping so much weight so quickly and thinking it'll last.
It's a boost, and it'll always help you get more and more, and progress better, but don't forget that anyone you become better than, can start using it too.
