Weight loss, healthier lifestyle. Anonymous
Hey /Fit/, I'm a regular on other boards but this is my first visit to this board,

I decided I wanted to lose a little weight, I'm not horribly out of shape, in fact you can't tell how fat I am when I wear a shirt, but I do have a large stomach and slight man titties.

I decided to cut back on snacking, so I decided to not snack at all and only eat at scheduled meals, unfortunately every day around 3 in the afternoon I get urges to eat.

I live in a shared household so I can't just throw away all the junkfood.

what do you /fit/ recommend to A kill my urges to snack, and B, burn fat.

please don't get too technical as I am not a fitness enthusiast.

Eat healthier foods instead of just eating smaller amounts of crap. Eat every 3 hours, and make sure you get good protein with EVERY meal.

its actually okay to snack when trying to lose weight. i lost a fair bit by doing a few diet related things
during the main meals(breakfast, lunch, dinner) i started eating less and less untill im now happy with one plate and if im still a bit hungry a FEW extra veggies. in between each meal i would snack on something small when i got hungry, dont eat junk food wean yourself off it if need be...its just comfort food, if you have a sweat tooth like i do start eating fruit over cookies and crap like that they are just empty calories and have no value whatsoever.
i eat breakfast
have a apple, banana, cup of fresh fruit(avoid precanned shit if you can) like melon, honeydew, pinapple you get the idea.
light lunch
another fruit or veggies, carrots, celery, a sammich bag of lettuce,
dinner
DONT eat a few hours before you sleep, thats not good for you

but yeah, by just doing that and with my job(delivering funature) i managed to drop 50 pounds in about 6 month and ive kept it off..now im working on getting back into weight lifting again

You'll have to train your body to either not desire snacks or to desire less of them. It takes a while for your body to adjust, but eventually one oreo or a handful of m&m's should satisfy you. And woah, not technical at all.

Yeah for a while I didnt eat anything after 9pm. But then my sleep patten changed and I wasnt getting to sleep till about 2-3am every night so I would just snack out at 11pm-12-1am on crackers and cream cheese, or a bread roll, or biscuits, or whatevers in the fridge.
