Chest Acne Anonymous
wtf /fit/!? how did I get acne on my chest and how do I get this shit off?
pic related but not me

Yea, when I started working out my face and back exploded with acne, and that was 2 years ago and it is still lingering on.

I am even on minocyclin and an array of topicals prescribed by my dermatologist.

OP here,
did it at least decrease?

Yea, it has substantially decreased; I am going to a new dermatologist to get IPL (intense pulse light) or Blue Light treatments to get rid of some stubborn blemishes. Other than that, I get the occasional break out now, but those usually goes away in a couple of days. The funny thing is, I notice I rarely, if not never, break out when I miss a few days of working out --maybe something to do with the increased testosterone or cortisone levels?

hormones and also buildup of sweat and whatnot clogging pores.
UV therapy/tanning helps in the case of adult acne and most other dermatological problems, but it's not worth the potential risk of skin cancer.
It's more likely to be infected pores with ingrown hairs, actually - increased testosterone encourages amongst other things, hair growth, which could be trapped inside the pores and festered.

Look, just take an exfoliating glove into the shower with you for a month or so.

UV therapy does not have any skin cancer risk.

I would suggest looking into IPL (Intense Pulse Light), and Clear/Blue Light therapy.
