Hay /fit/. I want to lose one pound a week from now until the end of the year.

Any basic, simple lifestyle changes you can recommend?

If 1 lbs a week is all you want to lose just count calories, walk a bit more. Get in the habit of eating multiple times a day, 100-200 calories at a time, with only one really big meal in the evening and stick to that schedule every day.

It also depends on how much you weigh to begin with.

how is eating under 2000 calories a day difficult?

Breakfast should be around 400-500, or 800 if you prefer a hearty breakfast.
500-600 for lunch, 800 for dinner.

Oatmeal and a piece of fruit for breakfast, sandwich and a side salad for lunch, chicken breast with rice pilaf and vegetable for dinner.
