FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

That is all.

this is true isn't it
>> Anonymous
everything is true.

because bodybuilders never trained to punch, jump, run or throw. But if they did they would be superior.

The worlds most succesful athletes use strength training, so does bodybuilders but in a different way.

And yes, for significant hypertrophy you need roids, so does an athlete if he wants significant hypertrophy.

sounds about right, for elite athletes it's mostly about yourself rather than scientific data done on whoever subjects. at that level you're already in tune with your body and know the various signs so scientific data is pretty useless.

Does anyone know physics here
What's more important to cause a tough blow? Strength or speed?

Yes, and obvious. Bodybuilders don't train for anything but size, though a fair amount of strength is attained (see: Ronnie and his deadlift). Simply put, anyone who bodybuilds to gain anything but size, is doing it wrong.

Depends what you mean by "significant". Mr. Olympia, sure. But just to get pretty big? Hell no.

I failed high school physics. Anyway, the amount of speed put into something is a function of force and time IIRC. So basically, strength is speed.

No. strength is just the amount of force you can deliver. So yeah strength = acceleration BUT that's not everything there is to it. Muscle doesn't simply go on and off like a lightbulb. The faster you can deliver the MAXIMUM amount of strength the faster you are. For example if you jump up you never use the maximum amount of force your body can deliver. You don't have time to.

Bodybuilders can build up massive amounts of force but they are not that fast...

Kinetic energy.

K=1/2Mass x velocity ^2

A bodybuilder has large mass therefore a decrease in acceleration is substantiated by mass.

Yeah but the mass is muscle. Of course bodybuilders stenght to lbs ratio sucks.

Of course you want to be as strong as possible with as little mass as possible but there's more to being fast than that. Look as martial artists for example.
