So, I want to start working out some, but don't care to spend money on weights or gym memberships. Anyone have tips for building muscle at home?

Planning to do pushups, situps, and walking (managed to build a lot of leg muscle during my marching band days that has since turned back into fat). Any other things I should do so I don't end up with disproportionate muscles (ie, strong upper arms, but no muscle in my forearms, etc). Also, should there be any restriction on such exercises? I had friends who lifted weights during high school, but never lifted two days in a row because you need a day for the muscles to recuperate. Any such practices I should be aware of with these exercises?

[Pic unrelated, but I don't really have anything saved that fits this board]

At least get a pull-up bar and make a sandbag or something.

yes, far be it from you to actually show some initiative and like, google something on your own before denouncing it.

lazy, cheap and asking a question that gets posted here maybe 10x a day. you're a winner.

You don't sound very motivated. Walking? WTF.

Sprint, motherfucker. Handstand pushups, planche pushups, pull-ups (I do mine off the rail on my garage door).

All this and more can be read about in the books mentioned. At minimum, do pull-ups, pushups and maybe one-legged squats and sprints. That covers most the body somewhat.

He doesn't have to do them if he can't, but a one-legged squat is like squatting a bar loaded with bodyweight. Most new trainees could handle that, even if they are often advised to go lower purely for safety reasons.
