I started at 220lbs, now I'm 170lbs, going down to 140lbs then working on muscle, so I have a long long road ahead of me.

yeah, take any idea of gaining muscle you have and stuff it up into your ass. the most a person can gain of actual muscle is 1-2lbs a month, 2 being around the absolute maximum for ideal conditions. there have been studies that showed when tracking several athletes over a year, the best of them gained 18lbs. try a realistic goal.

Kelly Slater isn't some random person from the street, he's arguably the world's greatest surfer. Do you even know what he's capable of? His muscles are there for a reason; they aren't for just for show, unlike your hero bodybuilders. His body is refined and hardened by hours and hours of paddling across the ocean and shredding the fuck out of waves across the world. I think his body is very much "real".

Realistically, to get a large lean muscular build unless you are genetically inclined to it, you are going to have to spend all your free time eating when not in the gym.

If that's your job, like an Olympic lifter or body builder. Great.

But people have other hobbies and interests. A build like the OP is still good. Like a 8.5/10 when a bigger build would be a 10/10

Why would you do nothing but eat and work out so you could beat off into a mirror? Not saying I eat like shit and don't try, I go to the gym 3 times a week, drink shakes, and eat relatively good. But I want to have fun in my free time.
