Mainly after your workouts, that way, when the muscles expand and tear, the protein that you drink will help rebuild it. I generally take my protein shakes both before and after. If you want to make some good protein shakes all you need a blender, non-fat milk, 1 frozen banana and of course, your protein. Pour one cup of non-fat milk in the blender, followed with 1-2 scoops of protein. Take your frozen banana and cut it into 5 to 10 smaller chunks, dump it in and blend (ice crush) for about 2 minutes. Vola, you have your very own cheap and delicious milk shake with less than 200 calories per serving.
