S'up /fit/. I'm wondering about these Energy Drinks. Now I pretty much only drink water and occasionally milk, but I have started having one of these energy drinks a day. Wondering if there is anything I should know about them? I drink one on my break at work to keep me going (manual labour job) and curious as to the effects good and bad.

TL;DR Energy Drinks good/bad what do they do.

You say you have a physical job. Depending on how intense it is, you may burn of a lot of the energy from these drinks. I really don't know if theres anything positive but I'd be careful only have ONE a day cuz they're fuckloaded with caffine.

I drink one before working out; get one with no calories and shit. don't drink it all the time though, cause you'll get addicted.

1% may be an exaggeration. There is no set amount of energy you gain, you just gain a little bit extra. The likely scenario is that any serious benefits you get are from the mentality of drinking the energy drink, and not the energy drink itself.

Either way, it's not worth losing your kidneys when you turn 40.

These are great on tired days. Some people even get gels, for longer workouts, that include caffeine. And I have read that a lot of runners cannot do a morning run without drinking coffee and getting a caffeine fix first. Currently, I drink the new versions of hydrive at Walgreens, they are non carbonated and taste good. They give me just enough energy without feeling dehydrated. Even propel has started adding caffeine to their line of sports drinks because people love it. If it doesn't give you the jitters and you always stay hydrate I say it is a yes. If you don't like the sugar or artificial sweeteners in take a half or whole tablet of No Doz. I would say experiment, and if it works go with it.

If you abuse any substance, alchohol, juice (shit load of sugar), or even mother fucking water, you always run the risk (albeit a SMALL fucking risk) of hurting yourself.

Just take everything in moderation, and don't abuse shit, and you'll be fine.
