Starting lifting a few weeks ago as a skinnyfat guy and I've found the training to be pretty easy to figure out, but nutrition is not. The more information I get, the more contradiction and confusion I run into.Trying to get 3000 calories a day properly is turning out to be difficult. Grains and fruits and other simple carbs should be limited, which essentially leaves meat and vegetables. Vegetables are so low in calories that it pretty much just leaves meat.I have a shit job so I can't really go full on with food here. I've managed to get the 1g protein per pound of body weight primarily from canned tuna but getting enough calories just don't work out. What the fuck? I'm lost here. Does everyone training just have incredibly meat-heavy diets or am I doing something wrong? What kind of inexpensive foods should I be going with?
what about beans and rice? canned vegetables may be low in calories but they're also pretty cheap.
