Dear Fit, 4 months ago I started going to a boxing gym 3-4 days a week. I was 176 lbs, at 5'10". I'm 19, and throughout my previous life have had no definition in my abs or torso at all.

I'm now 158 lbs.

Does fit approve?

Usually I eat eggs and sausage and oatmeal for breakfast. Since I work full time during the week, I use my breaks to split up my snacks. Something like a clif bar or a peanut butter and honey sandwich, then at lunch I usually have a sandwich and some apples. Today I had some trail mix for after lunch as well. Dinner time is usually what Mom makes or whats left in my house. I would like to improve upon my diet, but I'm moving to Japan in 4 weeks for a year of school, and will have the meals paid for me there. Which means just a bunch of noodles and shit. I'll post moar pix when I've reached 8 months or any noticeable growth or change in physique from boxing.

I also practice Parkour on the weekends. I did it before I was boxing, but it didn't help me lose weight or gain any strength due to the infrequency of when I would go out and do it.

Boxing is a great workout, and for someone who was as timid and weak as I was before, it has changed the way I feel about myself and the way I look at the world around me. Throwing fists with so many different people really lets you learn a lot about your ability in combat, as well as your physical limits. I'd recommend anyone to try out boxing if they're looking for a way to get into shape, as well as feel more confident in their fighting ability.
