Hey, so I walk into a gym, and then I see all these crazy machine's that look like they all do the same things. My question, what machines should I use in a gym? I mainly want to build up my abs and legs, I can do push-ups at home whenever I want for upper body.If you can, describe what the thing looks like or show me a picture, as I have no clue what anythings called.Pic is what I shall become...
Don't use machines, use free weights.Machines restrict your range of motion making your workouts less effective. Also, your stabilizing muscles are not worked using machines.
>>36571Okay. So what's the point of going to a gym then? Would it just be easier to get some weights, and do some stuff at home?If so, what is most effective without machines?
>>36574lots of weights, lots of room. There are people who can help you. Plus, if its a good gym there are lots of niceties you might not have at home like a sauna, indoor track, aerobic area, and pool.
rofl, pushups are in no way a replacement for any upper body lifts. you will never be like your op pic if you only do pushups. fag.
>>36580Not that I particularly care about my upper body, but awhile back I did a ton of push ups and arm curling every day and got pretty buff.
>>36574Women stretching and doing cardio. Also lots of weights and it helps motivate some people seeing others doing it.People to talk to.TV while on the treadmill.Hot tub.Basket ball court.Use their space, not yours.lots of reason.
Almost every gym has instructors available. They can help you use the resources that they have available most effectively.
