Hello /fit/,I have recently switched over to cutting fat after a "bad bulk" (deemed such by other /fit/ members). Basically, I put on more fat than I wanted, and now I am trying to carve it off.At first, I was really hungry all the time, but just a couple days ago, I noticed that I have almost entirely stopped being hungry. I am guessing, but I would like to hear from you guys, that this means my metabolism has slammed to a halt.I am eating about 1600 calories per day. I am currently about 196 pounds (down from 208), I do cardio for 45 minutes about 5 days a week, and lift weights two days a week (upper body and then lower body.)Being entirely un-hungry all day is making it easy to stay in my calorie limit, but I am worried that my body is in 'starvation mode' and that I will stop losing fat or, worse, lose muscle.I am drinking a couple protein shakes per day, eating about a 400-500 calorie breakfast, and spacing small meals throughout the day to make up the rest of the calories.Should I be getting more than 1600 calories, keeping in mind that I burn about 500 per day at the gym doing cardio?
shh
you type too many words
i've been on a cut for about 2 months now and i consume about 2000-2500 calories a day. i started at about 152 lbs and i'm down to 141 lbs. i lost an average of about a pound and a quarter a week. you should aim for something similar if you want an effective cut.
So, more calories? Also, apart from getting enough protein, some carbs, some fat, ect. is it okay if I get calories from liquids? Since I am not hungry, it is a lot easier to down a protein shake than to eat a chicken breast, you know?
>>197230that's what i did when i was bulking and i couldn't stomach any more solid foods. i just took my calories from shakes.
