I came up with a diet. for the past month I've been eating just one meal per day. in a single meal, even if it's a big one like a pizza or a hamburger, you can't really have more than 1000-1500 calories. I fast for the rest of the day. this was I eat whatever I want, and still loss weight. what do you think?

Good idea. The logic seems flawless. As long as you're not hungry, keep at it, bro.

It's stupid. Eat your six meals a day like everyone else and enjoy your fast metabolism and lack of hunger.

If I had fast metabolism I wouldn't be overweight.

if you didn't eat like a RETARD you'd have a faster metabolism

Then maybe you should be eating a meal every four hours to get a fast metabolism.

I my opinion eating vegies six times a day until you snap is eating like a retard.

ITT dumbasses with zero medical knowledge for a change. Can't be bothered to correct posts like this anymore, look up insulin and glucagon and how they work after a meal and in a fasting state or enjoy your failure to comprehend the human body.

Eating a whole pizza once a day is probably the worse thing you can do for yourself. If your loosing weight your loosing muscle, because your body isnt getting enough protein throughout the day to keep it. Plus I imagine you aren't getting enough vitamins and nutrients for other bodily functions. If you want to eat a whole pizza everyday, why not just 1 slice every two hours for 12 hours?

too obvious though, no one is this stupid

Right. You're going to take the dietary world by storm with your binge/starve diet.

"The practice of eating small, frequent meals - one approximately every three waking hours - is by far the most effective way to speed up your metabolism. It's so effective, in fact, that when you see the results, you may wonder why you've ever had any difficulty losing body fat in the past."

Hahaha yeah and you're going to convince me about the mechanics of human metabolism with an unattributed quote when even wikipedia knows what I'm talking about. In short, there's two kinds of metabolism - anabolic i.e. synthesizing molecules, building muscle and fat, and catabolic, i.e. using the body's molecules for energy. Insulin is the anabolic and glucagon the catabolic hormone. Insulin is secreted after a meal and glucagon when blood glucose is low. Many meals a day is exactly what you should do to build muscle, and fat. Googled that quote btw and apparently it is from a guide on how to build muscle, who woulda thought.

Right. It works just how you *imagine* it should work, not how it has been proven to work. Nothing worse than someone with a little knowledge and no sense.

Metabolism is bullshit. People here seem to think unless you're eating six small meals a day, you're doing it wrong - but really, it's not necessary. You will lose weight as long as you're eating less than you burn off. I think OP's way of dieting is perfectly fine as long as he's not hungry.

>>406036
OPs probably losing weight simply because he's eating less calories than usual. Doesn't mean it's the right way to do it, or that it will work in the long run.

Essentially the body is going to start saying "ok, we're only getting nutrients once per day, store it all as fat so we don't starve."

op here. now I don't know if I should keep this up. I've also started exrecising every day which is probably also why I've been lossing weight. I'm only 3 kg from not being overweight. what should I do?

>zero medical knowledge

Quote: Previous studies have demonstrated that the ingestion of three meals a day results in higher total insulin levels than does the ingestion of six or nine small meals across the day (12-14).

You're going to fuck up your body in more ways than one.

Tried doing that, became bulimic.

I would spend all day thinking about eating, when evening comes I would binge the fuck out, ended up binging the fuck out, then purging. A year of bulimia ensued.

Enjoy ur eating disorder, dickhead.
