/fit/, I beg help of thee.

I'm a dood, 5'8", about 165 lbs., very little of which is muscle. My BMI, which I know is shit, but it's not so inaccurate since I have so little muscle mass, hovers on the line between normal and overweight.

I'm pretty small framed, and I was always very skinny and bony as a child. When I hit puberty, I got huge. I'm talking 200 pounds huge. I assumed my metabolism severely slowed once I hit puberty, so I began replacing sodas with water, watching the fat content of my food, and eating less during meals. About the time I graduated high school I had dropped to 145 lbs. I'm now 21 and at 165 like I said.

With all that out of the way, my question is this:
How the hell do I get rid of my man boobs? They've been there since I ballooned in middle school; even when I had dropped to 145 and had bony arms and legs and a fairly flat stomach, I still had the damn man boobs.

Everyone I've talked to tells me to do push-ups, but from what I understand, spot reduction is bullshit. I eat about 2000 calories a day, take in very little fat, about all I drink is water, I'm on a multivitamin, and I walk a few miles every day.

What is the most effective way to look decent shirtless? I don't want to do a bunch of bullshit weight lifting and hide the man boobs with muscle; I just want my flat chest back.

Help me /fit/, you're my only hope.

Begin by limiting your protein intake, as it is converted to fat more rapidly than sodium and carbs. Feel free to enjoy caffiene free soda on occasion as the caff is where the real health problems come from.

Once you do that, you can slowly adjust your main meal untill it is high sodium and carb based (such as healthy asian instant noodle dishes that are quite cheap from most nearby stores). Be sure to get the plain 'beef' or 'chicken' flavors, as the terms 'creamy' or 'savory' usually imply lard was added to the seasonings.

Once your diet is in check then, and only then, should you begin your weightloss workout regime. Try to be regular, and do the same workout at the same time every day, that way you get used to it and don't get bored and quit early. Some may recommend a combo of strength and aerobic training, but for the starter with a focus on weight loss like you I would say you are much better off just doing 1 or 2 hours of HIIT (broken down into 3 or 4 intervals) daily for a few months.

You don't just start running, dumb fuck. That's how you cause serious pulls and strains. For someone who isn't in shape, you need to start out slow.
OP: As far as the bitch tits go, Push-ups will do you wonders, they exercise your arms, your pecs, and your abs, I'm only 19, but I used to be in your position (5'11" 180lbs) and the bitch tits weren't flattering, follow the diet rules in>>266852and start doing pushups, if you're as unfit as I was, start small, you may be able to do 15 or 20 max a day, but every day just do two or three more, and try to pick up a five or ten pound weight, if your arms are as unconditioned as mine were.

Running would help you a lot too, for pretty obvious reasons, start by "jogging" for 30 minutes, start with a 5 minute warm up, then jog for a minute and a half, than walk for two, continue for a half hour. Do this every other day, and every week, up each by 30 seconds (i.e. on week two, jog for two minutes, walk for two and a half. etc etc.), this is just plain good exercise.

But most definitely, no real need for weight lifting, you're not trying to gain mass, rather take what you have and cut it down. Pushups, some jogging, and a good diet will do you wonders.

I can speak with some knowledge of your position. I am 5' 6" 160 pounds. I used to be fat, like 205 pounds on my small frame fat, but dropped most until I was about 10% body fat.

For me, the chest area was one of the last places to lose fat, meaning my man tits were present and largely intact during my entire weight loss.

If you are dieting seriously, you should lower your caloric intake. I would recommend between 1500 and 1700 calories per day. 50% of your dieting coming from protein, 30% from carbs, and 20% from fats.

Thats about the best you can hope for, well other than surgery method.

Eating mostly protein causes the body to store what carbs and fats you do eat as fat, because the body can break the protein down into energy easier than it can store it. Eating only protein causes a build up of ammonia and/or urea in the body and is toxic.

*sigh* Do you have any fucking conception of what you're even talking about? Protein isn't that easy for the body to break down. Fuck, eating protein has a high thermic effect on your metabolism and more than 20% of the energy that you get from it is spent just processing and breaking down the rest of it.

Additionally, if you have a calorie deficit, your body isn't going to be storing a lot of body fat anyway - if any at all. So, like, shut the fuck up and go read a book on how this stuff actually works. If you're too lazy to do this, at least SHUT THE FUCK UP and stop spreading misinformation and bad advice.

Way to not read>>267061. Nothing was said about calorie deficits or that protein was "easy to break down". But consumed protein is broken down and is not stored as amino acids, so it must be broken down again before it can be stored. So the body has a tendency to attempt to use it as energy first.
