When lifting weights, at what point do you need to start wearing a weight belt before you risk massive hernias?

it really depends on the person, when you start to strain yourself its usually best to then start.
At least 300lb on the clean.400-500lb for dead.400-500lb for squat
belts are worthless. use good form.
