peptic ulcers Anonymous
So this last week I've been taking a lot of ibuprofen, anti-inflammatory pain relievers.

They're 200MG tablets and it's been two per dose every six hours.

I've stopped taking them yesterday, but since wednesday night my stomach hasn't felt that great, and today my stomach just feels awful.

I've read that taking an excessive amount of anti-inflammatory pain relievers can cause a peptic ulcer.

Does this just seem like a coincidence or should I seriously consider that I might have a peptic ulcer?

Try eating some food, they can cause pain from high acidity or some shit if you haven't eaten.

They are both NSAIDS. Have you been taking the ibuprofen with food and a full glass of water?

Also, one week is not chronic use to cause PUD.

>with food and a full glass of water?

Not really.
Well, I don't exactly remember how much I drank to down the pills, but most of the time I just drink enough to get the pills down.

After only a week? It probably isn't an ulcer, unless you've taken a lot of painkillers on a regular basis before this or have an h. pylori infection.
If the pain gets worse when you're hungry, that's a pretty good sign it might be an ulcer.
Try taking some antacids like prilosec to see if they help.
