So /fit/

i've been doing 1 arm db snatches, because i read they were functional.

i worked up today to over 100lbs. a trainer told me they were dangerous because they were 'asymmetrically' loading my spine (since i only have 1 over my head @ a time). also, they 'overactivate' my upper traps, so it looks like i don't even have a neck

so /fit/ what should i do? the DB snatches are fun, but, i dont want to be neckless, explosive, and muscular! should i stop and stick with bodyweight?

Snatches are safe as long as your posture is true.

Keep a straight back and hips, and breath out when you pull up.

Do barbell snatches, instead. They're better for your shoulders and such. And less gay.

And if anyone ever tells you that you're "Over activating" a muscle again, kick them in their throat.

Alternate and you will have no problems.
