Hi /fit/

Ever since I got into puberty I've been experiencing these vertigo-esque things when I get up from bed or a chair too quickly. It gets dark before my eyes and I've also fainted sometimes. This is kinda disturbing and I'm afraid I will hurt myself sometime soon.

Any tips on what to do to reduce these things from happening?

It's blood rushing to your head. Keep doing it over and over again, you'll start seeing some cool shit before you pass out.

When you stand up, your blood pressure has to rise in order to keep blood in your brain so you don't pass out. You're standing up too fast and not giving your body time to find an equilibrium; this is actually called orthostatic hypotension and assuming you don't fall down and hit your head, it's completely harmless.

I'm 14 and I experience these too.

I just try to stand up slower. On the event that it actually happens, I just hold on to a table or something and wait for it to go away.

If you feel the need to see the doctor, then do it. Nothing bad about seeing a doctor regarding these issues.

Well, it never happens when I'm sitting by my computer. Maybe because I'm not in a very relaxed postition or something blabla. Standing up slower works, and riding it out by holding on to something is necessary.

What I'm looking for is why this happens. And instead of going to the doctorz perhaps I could ask the allknowing /fit/

Could it be something 'wrong' with my blood pressure, it's too high/low. Anyone ever actuallty asked a doctor about this btw?

My frineds would always wake me up to go eat and I take at least an hour to get ready so this one time, as soon as they knocked, I just sprang up and opened the door... Instead of everything going dark, almost everything when completely white... Everything is still almost completely white.
