so /fit/, ive had some pretty bad acne for the past 3-4 years, but this past year ive really tried getting rid of it, but my skin simply won't clear up. i have moderate outbreaks on my face (primarily forehead) and shoulders.

ive had a pretty solid diet going this past year, with minimal dairy products, very few sweets, zero sodas, wheat bread instead of white bread, etc. i drink lots of water, wash my face thoroughly twice a day, and take doxycycline prescribed by my dermatologist.

i just feel like im doing everything right but as of the past 6 months or so, have been seeing little to no results. i dont know what else to do. any ideas/thoughts/suggestions? thanks

I think I used to be on doxycline. From what I've read and my own experience, it works great at first, but your acne will build up a resistance to it after about 6 months. I also got horrible stomach aches after a while.

Huge amounts of benzoyl peroxide is what did it for me:
http://www.acne.org/
That place sells huge amounts of benzoyl for a reasonable price.

Are you suffering from cystic acne, or just acne acne?

Also, the acne bacteria can't build up a resistance towards benzoyl, so if it works, you're set for life/whenever you outgrow your acne.

Also, don't expect instant results. It gets worse before it gets better.

Also, follow the face wash, etc routine to a T before giving up.

ive used some duac which my dermatologist also prescribed, but the results varied. it was a 5% benzoyl peroxide cream. ive got some OTC 10% cream called ClearZit but I haven't tried it just yet, and question how sensitive my skin might be to 10%.

my advise

1) do no touch your skin during daytime

2) wash it trhee or even four times a day - each time it becomes a bit fat

3) have regular sex or masturbation ( once a day or more ) - may sound funny but it works

According to acne.org, anything over 2.5% isn't beneficial. It leads to skin irritation and more acne. The site cites several studies.

Large amounts of mild benzoyl to penetrate the skin + twice a day application is the key to acne.org's program.

If it's as bad as you say, though, you might want to look into Accutain as others have suggested.

More washing =/= less acne. Over washing leads to irritation which leads to more acne. Twice a day with a very mild wash is optimum.

i used to get outbreaks on my face don't really anymore, but now my face gets REALLY oily, like after a couple of hours of washing my face its like im sweating or something, anyone know what could help me get rid of it?

Wash your face once (max twice) a day with mild soap and water. Then use regular room temperature water a few times a day to get any oil or dirt that has accumulated on your face. Don't use soap, just wet it then pat it down.
