Hey /fit/,

Female. I had a bereavement about nine months ago and it made me lose interest in everything. I just sat around my room, exercised barely, ate whatever. Put on about forty pounds. Was about 115 at 5'5", roughly 18% (when I first started about five years ago, I was 236 pounds and 33% so not too bad end result and most of it was easy once into maintenance).

Today, I started again. Did an hour and a half on the treadmill (was fine with it so did it). Four hundred sit-ups. Tomorrow I go back to the gym. About 45 minutes to an hour circuit training including lunges, stiff-legged deadlifts, cable rows, deltoid raises, tricep dips and/or pulley work, missionary and reverse hammer curls, an hour's cardio thereafter. I'll mix up the routine as I go along. Gym three times a week, cardio of an hour every morning and then after each gym session too, abs every night. Ditching buses etc. to walk everywhere. Going to target spending at least five hours a day being on my feet absolutely active. Once fitness levels are up, planning on including some interval training.

Diet clean-up includes the standard. Small meals, no carbs after six three days a week, the rest small portions of grains, reintroducing lean proteins, more fibrous carbohydrate, cheat day once a week.

Not sure when I'll gain objective but I'm not freaking out about it.

I feel inspired so wish me luck. Or don't. I'm just glad to be back and I wanted to tell someone. Thanks for your time.

Pic obviously related.

Are you out of your mind? Drop the situps, and get some focus whlie you're at it. Your routine is all over the place.

I don't do them all in one go. Just over the evening in between TV and other stuff.

Other than that, I can't see how it's all over the place. Care to be more specific?

lol, this was obviously just a one day thing.

She clearly knows more about fitness than all of you.

Situps aren't a very caloric-extensive execise which is what you are aiming at. It'll help a bit by building your abdomen but doing 400 sit ups won't build up your metabolism as much as say a good 3-5 sets of squats.

i c wat u do there. But yeah, I can do them quite easily, reps of about fifty at a time, last twenty at burn. Diet counts a fair bit towards results too in my experience.

Thanks, brah. That was encouraging to read.

No, I do pushups after circuit and just before treadmill. 3 sets of 20. It's enough. Sticking with my sit-ups because they are fun and give me results and I like them.
