yo /fit/ i woke up today and my right hand thumb was feeling a little tingly, but not more so than any other time i sleep on my hand, but my lower back hurt like hell for some reason so i decided to stretch, just some regular stuff to relax my back. when i was done stretching i noticed my right hand thumb has gone numb, didn't tingle or hurt, it was just numb, like there was a restriction to the blood flow, but not a complete one, it's been like that for a while. plus, a couple of years back i hurt my elbow, and for the longest time my right hand pinky had the same kind of numbness, is it possible i hurt my elbow in sleep again, or do i have aids?

thats what i thought too, but considering i never had medical problems in my life, i never got medical insurance, and i don't have a job at the moment so i can't pay for it... on top of all, i can't go anywhere for at least 6 hours.

Get a massage, OP. You may have a small knot in your back that's putting pressure on a nerve. There are big complexes of nerves in the neighborhood of your shoulder blades that spread out all the way to your fingertips, and you might need to have a little work done to smooth things out. So get a massage-- not from a salon, but from a physical therapy clinic.

i just had a thought, could it be because of my chair? for the past four years i had a cheap $5 chair without arm or back rests, but i was always siting on it in a Buddha position (lotus?) I've never had any back or neck problems, even after extensive use, but a few weeks ago i got a $50 executive chair, it's pretty comfortable and all, but it has arm rests pretty close to the body and a curved (vertically) back rest, so I've been unable to sit in the same position, i pretty much have to hold my legs straight down and my back against the chair while i use it, it's also about two inches higher than the old chair so I've been forced to hunch a bit when using the keyboard, and I've been having more back pains too.

could it be that the old dollar store chair was better for my health than this monstrosity?
