Hey, /fit/! I'm a huge fatty, and as such I want to start doing some cardio. Anyway, what's a good program to start with? I'm painfully out of shape- running to the end of my driveway makes me out of breath. Now, my driveway's long, but I'm not going to be making excuses. I end up sputtering and coughing after about half a lap around my neighborhood, which is pathetic. I don't want to quit right away, so that way I can actually get a workout. So, where should I start? What's the best kind of routine I can do? Should I swim? And if I do swim, what should my routine for that be?

Pic related. I'm female, but if I were a male that'd be my fat distribution. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of myself. Of fortunately, depending on how you look at it.

Go to a GYM, learn how to lift weights, don't have to be heavy, or super intense, but you should learn the basics. Then you NEED to build your self up in cardio. You don't need to be running a mile off the bat instead try jogging that half a block or less if you have to then, walk until you have some of you breath back, then continue to jog again rinse and repeat. Over time you'll be jogging that block like nothing, and when you feel comfortable enough you can run. This is just one suggestion amongst many.
First and foremost is action, so get out there, learn, and do something. Good luck, have fun!

I used to be in God aweful shape. Not too far off from that pic, OP.

I started my routine with free weights, crunches, push ups, and jumping jacks. It wasn't the best and it wasn't very intense, but it got me started.

GL.

Oh, and running sucks ass. Like>>309721said, you need to build up to it. Start with getting in better shape, then do HIIT. The time efficiency will make the commitment easier.

Do alot of walking. Just to get started. Go as fast as you can (walking) for as long as you can. Do it regularly. Build from there. Keep hydrated. Change your diet etc.

hi femanon

i looked somewhat like that last month, im 1.79 ms and I was 94.2 kgs then, im 89.3 kgs now and have SOME muscle build,

Heres my workout, 40 minutes everyday on a bycicle machine, according to it, I burn 1100 calories every session and I do it everyday, also, since Im a male, I did some research and found out that I should eat 1800 calories everyday, so now I try to eat somewhere between 1500-1800 everyday, i ONLY drink water that has 0 calories ( its flavoured cuz i hate plain) and I do 30 pushups and 40 crunches/situps everyday. Now, at first youre going to feel very tired but since im in college, it wasnt really a problem, so here are my suggestions_

Find out how many calories you have to consume everyday, with that info make your own diet, just read the nutri info on the back of the food, and try running/power waking everyday for at least 20 minutes, becuase that is the fastest way to lose weight while building lower body muscle. and last and most important BE PERSISTENT, I cannot tell you how many times I felt tired and my mind was telling me to leave it for tomorrow, DO NOT TRUST YOUR BODY.

So, keep at it, eat healthy and remember, you might "suffer" now, but in 3-4 months, youre going to realize it was all worth it.

HIIT jumprope & HIIT burpees.

Combine that with squats, deadlifts, pullups, & overhead press & you'll have the most efficient workout possible.
