sup /fit/ ?

remember me from the stupid drama-infested thread a week or so ago?

anyways, i've lost 2 lbs in 5 days, i found my bike and fixed it so now i'm biking a mile 3x a week and my legs and butt are getting stronger. I hurt my ankle getting off my bike though, and I need some advice on how to fix it. it's not sprained or split , it just feels like i popped it out of place.
thoughts?

inb4 >b , anhero, etc.

Wait it out.

OP: Should i try to stay off it, or do some routines that don't involve my lower legs too much ?

If it hurts alot, don't put any pressure on it.

You can do some upper body exercises while you wait for the ankle to heal.

a diclofenac creme helps a lot with the pain and inflammation.
A cold wrap is a good idea too.
>> Anonymous
OP: The pain isn't bad enough to make me go to the doctor's , it's more annoying than anything. it hurts to walk on it, like an achey pain. My bike seat is too high and when i went to get off of it i fell and put all my weight really hard down on my right foot.

>>96371

I put an ice-pak on it when it first happened and it numbed it out, but it happened 2 days ago and i thought the pain should have gone away by now.

the pain isn't VERY bad, but it hurts any time i move my ankle at all.

unreleated but helpful:
When your ankle heals up. You may also want to slightly increase how much distance you ride every week, so your body doesn't get use to the ride and to increase the workout!

OP: i planned on it, i live on a big hill so it's fun to ride down it, then i go halfway across my town and come back.
the scenery where i live is pretty so it's actually fun to get outside once in a while.

how far do you think i should be biking say, one month from now?

Proper Equipment is the a and o of every sports.
If your saddle is too high, why didn't you get it fixed first?
What kind of shoes did you wear? No suspension?
Injury is the enemy of every sportsman, cause it will prevent training and set you back.

OP: i had my bike fixed before i got on it but, the seat was already as low as it could go.
i'm 5'4, the seat comes to my waist.

and the shoes are slip-on flat soled ones i found. i'm going shopping for a good pair of tennis shoes soon. Any brand to look for anon ?

And for your own sake, I hope you ride with a helmet.
I race-bike regularly and it pisses me off BIG-time when I see bikers without a helmet.
I've encountered so many bikers with head-injuries lately, it's ridiculous.
>> Anonymous
Seems like you don't know how to properly get on an off a bike.

When the bike starts to come to a stop, slightly get up off the seat and go forward so you're above the bicycle frame. Then you can probably reach the ground without toppling over.
>> Anonymous
>>96389

OP: When the bike is at a stop, and i am on the seat, i have to be on my tip-toes to touch the ground, so it makes getting on and off the bike difficult.
>> Anonymous
>>96389

OP: also, there isn't a way for me to get up any higher once the bike is at a stop, and i can't just slide off the front of the seat to the frame part without hurting myself worse
>> Anonymous
>>96388

OP: yes anon, i wear a helmet. i don't want to end up on jj.am
>> Anonymous
A smaller bike might be a good idea.

>>96399

OP: i can't afford to buy a new bike, so i'm working with what i have. if it means falling off and re-grouping every couple of weeks or months then so be it, it's better than going without until i can save up enough spare money for a new bike.
>> Anonymous
OP: Screw it! i'll just bike in 8 inch hooker boots.

that would look so freakin' weird.
>> Anonymous
Adjust your bicycle seat then.

My bad.
You can't cough up 50 bucks for a Wal-mart bike?

I got a Wal-mart bike for less than 50 bucks, everything is good except the brakes. I had to adjust them to get proper braking.
>> Hammerknife !7ITukp3Pj2
Buy a recumbent bike. Much easier to get in/out of them.

OP: i went there today looking for a bike, and the cheapest one i could find that didn't have a basket or training wheels was $160.00 . and, currently, i can't pull that out of my ass. I just have to make due with the bike i have. i'm thinking of getting the seat bar cut and then put back on. . .

Well it depends what shape your in really

I'm 140lbs 6' 1 (only a little weight to lose) I've only just started bikeing myself infact. First time I went out I did 20minutes next time I did 30minutes (4.4miles) next time 40minutes. I'll keep going up untill I find a point that i want to throw up then keep at it till it gets easy then move up again!

I also have the same problem with my bike seat to. Keep forgetting to lower it.

OP: time for work, will look back at this later.

any comments on bike / shoe brands, ankle health, and what i can do in the meantime to lose weight are wanted.

> i've lost 2 lbs in 5 days

I've lost 2 lbs in 20 mins on the toilet. Srsly, 2 lbs is stupid... you can start showing off with 10 lbs lost.
>> Anonymous
>>96433
Yeah, not to be a downer, but you can easily see-saw up and down 4 lbs depending on how much you've eaten, drank, and defecated. Call us back when you're down 10 lbs.
>> Anonymous
OP, so when are you gonna ride my cock?
>> Anonymous
one whole mile?

whoa, don't overwork yourself in that 3 minutes
>> Anonymous
Good job! You've lost WATER WEIGHT!

Damn, lazy, one mile wont do ANYTHING...
>> Anonymous
come back after you've lost 50 lbs you fucking heifer

OP: two pounds lost is better than two pounds gained, my overall weight dropped about 8 lbs total then i figured in waterweight, shit, and other factors. i'm telling myself i lost 2 lbs of fat.

heifer? Moo. Moo moo moo moo moo.

Yeah you should expand what you meant by that. HIIT is kinda hard to work out on a bike, when it comes to inclines, traffic, and the only way to rest would be to get off completely. I've found sprinting/walking to be more effective and less costly

He means to do HIIT.

OP: i should also mention, i'm considering being a model or something and being 4chan's new "mascot" in place of youtubsa or whatever. in b4 camwhore etc.

i'm relly not a camwhore but i feel like with my newfound weightloss i should be able to flaunt my body and not hide it like i used to, if i emailed mute do you think he'd go for it?

thanks again anon.

biking is about distance not exertion. find a route you enjoy and ride far it's far more important than maintaining rpm or working up an unnecessary sweat.

second, i have no idea where you live but many cities have bicycle coops. at most coops they'll have really cheap used bikes as well as free how to fix your own bike nights. they often have a night or two a week with an open workshop so you can use their tools while getting instruction from mechanics.

if you can deal without your car the best way to maintain a healthy fit life is simply going car free/lite.
