Hey /fit/, I am a 19 year old male, who is in decent physical fitness, I can run a mile in about 8 minutes without breathing hard or cramping.

My one problem is I have a super fast metabolism and I weigh around 125-135 depending on my activity.
I have recently started going to the gym, and I want to pack on muscle in my arms/chest/shoulders, but I don't want to spend extra money on protein supplements just to get cut.

Should I bite the bullet and get something to help with the building process? or just work it as much as I can?

Stop running. Thats killing your fucking calories. Stop doing shit, start BULKING. Eat 5 meals or more a day, start working out more. Slow reps is key.

Educate yourself, because /fit/ sure as hell can't be fucked going through it all over again for the 9001th time.

i go to the gym 4 times a week, but my diet is pretty poor. and I am helping a friend get ready for boot camp for the marines. So basically I just need to sit around on my ass and eat tons of food?

that seems a little counter productive.

also should I do more repetitions of smaller weights, or less of a HUGEFUCKOFF amount of weight?

Slow reps are ineffective unless you enjoy excessive DOMS (which doesn't equate to hypertrophy, you impressionable failures). Fast reps + heavy weights = more motor units recruited = more muscular tension = more strength and size.

Start eating a fuck load of shit. Dirty bulking is good as long as you know you can cut it afterwards.

Judging by the shit you said you are an obvious beginner, as fresh as they come. So here's some shit you have to read.

Stick to T-Nation and you should be safe. There's plenty of faggotish bullshit on the internet and in my experience, T-Nation has the least of it. The community is full of people with real physiques for one, unlike other bodybuilding sites which are saturated with idiot teenagers.
