Hi /fit/. I come to you for advice, I'm a tall white guy 6'3, I weigh about 190lbs. Pic related because that's about the same body type as mine but maybe slightly better looking. I have pretty skinny girly arms. No abs, not fat but there's no muscle tone either. I don't exercise as I'm lazy most of the time. Always have been a shy introvert. Having moderately bad acne and a chest bone between my nipples that sticks out hasn't helped much in the whole socializing scene. I'm also 23. I've tried to get onto a healthy food kick but it usually doesn't last more than a few weeks before I'm back to eating out and shit.

Basically I need a change. I want to be fit. But frankly the gym scares me a bit, I've been to the gym quite a few times before but I can never get into a routine or experience the 'fun' of going to the gym that other people seem to. To me it feels like work and something that I can't see any tangible results from and so I quit it before the results are even realistically possible.

I have some ideas on how to turn my life around, the first being getting rid of this computer and the games I play. The second is getting my own place. The house I live at now has 5 people living in it and my room is fucking tiny. The rent is super cheap but really, I make enough I could afford something much better. I think that especially, getting my own kitchen would help a lot on the eating healthy part as my roommates are fucking pigs that never clean up after themselves so the kitchen is always a mess.

I know what I need to eat to eat right, but its the exercise that I utterly fail at, I don't know shit about weightlifting or even different exercises besides the very basic ones.

I guess my goals are this: 1. stop failing a life and get in shape 2. put on some muscle 3. somehow trick the girl of my dreams into dating me, unfortunately she lives about 600 miles away right now for school so I have some time to get my shit together before she gets back (this is the real motivation here).

So /fit/ seeing the complete fail situation I'm in right now and my own failitude, what would you recommend I do to get my life on track? While I know some of you will suggest offing myself, I'd really like to stick it out as long as possible.

1. Maybe you will find bodyweight exercises more approachable than weights. You can get a great start with those, and this book* will tell you how. You also need to develop some confidence in your methods: if you're eating right and working out right, you *know* you're making progress. You don't need to fucking *see* it. Take the long view here: any day you worked out as hard as you can is an increase to your "days spent being a badass/days spent being a faggot" ratio.

do some research, change your diet, stop being lazy :P

i'm no fan of exercise at all but i know if i want results i have to do it. Try to get a friend to exercise with you, it helps alot for your motivation.
