hey, /fit/. what can i do to make vegetables taste good without adding calories? (like, dousing it with dressing.) i want to be able to eat a plateful of vegetables a day, but sometimes it's hard cause they taste fucking gross to me. HELP HELP HELP

Not OP, but most don't taste good. Have you ever been to a nice restaurant and been told to eat the meal you ordered plain? No, there's sauces and they're seasoned right for a reason. Besides, not everyone likes the same things.

Few suggestions:

-Marinade vegetables

-vegetable kebabs (add pineapple chunks, red onion, mushroom, peppers etc..)

- Grilled peppers. I did this alot as a chef at college. It brings out alot better sweetness and you can charcoal the skin side and flake the skin off leaving very soft, juicy peppers.

- Sweetcorn in small amount of margarine, chilli, ginger, lemon juice (small amount) and a dash of worsester sauce. Taken from a Jamie Oliver cookbook and tastes absolutely delicious when done right.

- Carrots, Broccoli and green beans glazed in honey (not too much), lemon juice, ginger and seasame seeds. Also very nice

Just a few suggestions, learn to love your veg as its a large part of diets.

I don't eat white bread anymore, actually I avoid bread with gluten in it (lol allergic). In stead it's all about getting some nice black bread, rye bread or something like that and TOASTING IT.

Toasted rye bread tastes awesome. Whatever you do, don't boil your vegetables. Makes them taste about 99% worse in my opinion, I can barely stand it. But frying them or steaming them is usually great :D

also just drizzle some virgin olive oil and a pinch of salt and pepper, muthafukas delicious.

steam everything. (get one of those microwave steam bitches, the big ones and just steam two heads of broccoli, and store the fuckers in a bowl till you're ready to eat it) its what i'm doing right now.

You can saute them in olive oil. Season with parsley, red (cayenne) pepper, black pepper, garlic, onion powder, etc., whatever taste you like! Use salt sparingly though.

What I do, I take veggies like bell peppers (green, red, orange, yellow, they all taste different), onions, broccoli, asparagus, cabbage, squash, etc., and saute them. After they get about half done, I add some veggie that tastes great (corn, peas, green beens, rice) and saute that together with the other veggies you may not like. After that, whatever you do with them is up to you. You can add some meat, add it to a soup or stew, or just enjoy it as a side dish.

You can find easy low-Cal saute tips online.
