Is it ok to do ab exercises when i'm already doing Mark Rippetoe's strength training program?

I removed deadlift and bent-over rows for some time, so i think i have room for some abs, but i don't want it to interfere with my other lifts (that is squatting, bench pressing, pressing and pullups)

Hoping i will hear from you and in a helpful way..

Do your abs last if you're doing lifts like squats, since they'll have a negative impact on your reps. Basically if your workout for the day involves any exercise where you're stabilizing your core, do abs last.

Is there a boundary regarding my abdominal exercises that i shouldn't exceed?
Or i suppose that unlike squats, abs are only trained half the time?

Abs are different from other muscle groups in that they respond best in the 20-40 rep range. If that gets easy try doing weighted variations.

Like every other muscle group though, abs need rest, so try not to train them every day.

that's not really true, people just do shitty ineffective ab exercises

True. 40 situps is pretty easy. 40 floor sweepers def is not. It really depends on the exercise. Unless I'm doing a really difficult exercise though, like weighted leg lifts, I usually am for the 20-40 range. I was trying to say that for most ab exercises, 20-40 is a good target range.
