Whats the most effective way to work off a slight gut? I've got a bit of one and always sorta have and I'd like to get rid of it.

I'm roughly 6'3-4", around 180 lb., and have been trying to cut back on certain foods and eat more healthy (specifically just cutting back on the calories and swapping simple things out for that, though tight finances are hurting that.)

So, any advice?

You want to run as much as you can. Don't speed up and slow down in intervals, that's just bad for your knees and can slow your metabolism. When lifting weights, if you want to gain, do 10 sets of 2 reps of a really high weight. If you want to tone, to 2 sets of 10 reps of a low weight. Freeweights are for gay fags, contrary to popular belief. You want to use machines with LOTS of lines and the ones that look really advanced. Do the reps as FAST as possible to get the full benefit. Squats are for losers, jumping jacks work your legs out just as good. You really only need to work out once a week. During your workout day, do as many exercises as you possibly can. Protein is good. You want to eat a lot of red meat, it has a lot of protein. Tuna has mercury in it, stay away from it. Chicken have feelings, don't kill them. Sit ups are great! they target your stomach fat and will give you a 6 pack in no time!

You almost got me until you said tuna has mercury. I've been eating 3-5 cans a day every day for 2 years.

Then you're probably getting too much mercury in your diet.

Tuna is a top predator, so it collects a lot of whatever cumulative poisons are in the environment.

It's unnatural and dangerous to eat so much of one kind of fish. You might not have any problems from it, but you're setting yourself up for trouble.

You cant pointburn fat, so situps dont burn the fat on your stomach more than the other parts of the body. What you do when you do situps is burn fat all over, but you tone your abs so that you see better results.

OP, the best way to lose weight is to cut down on the carbohydrates, do A LOT of cardio-training(running, cykling etc) and mix that with strengthtraining... Say that 70% of your time will be for cardio and 29% will be muscles, and 1% for masturbation or sex :)

>cut down on the carbohydrates

how true is this? i'm vegan so carbs are the majority of my diet, but i also get a LOT less fat in my diet than other people because i don't eat animal products. would reducing carbs really help me that much, or should i go for general calorie restriction? not OP here, just to prevent confusion.

180 is aqverage for a 6 foot 2 person, are you skinny everywhere but your gut? do you have any muscle mass?
>> Anonymous
Not OP here, but i'm in the same boat.

I'm same height and around same weight. i'm skinny everywhere, but I just have this layer of fat on my stomach i'm trying to lose. I could have access to gym equipment if I wanted to cycle and things like that. So far i've only been doing sit ups, pushups and running a bit.

Any other way to fast track it?

cherry pickers are more effective than situps, sit with your legs at a 90 degree angle with your feet raised off the ground about six inches then put your hands together and touch the ground to the right of you, then back to the center, then touch the ground to the left of you all while keeping your feet off the ground, flutter kicks work well too.

Yeah, pretty much. :/ Skinny as fuck, really, just the gut which is what annoys me. I'd rather be a skinny nothing then a guy with the gut.

Thanks for the help so far, anything else?
