Hay guys.

I'm about 20 lbs overweight. Therefor, I want to lose 30 pounds. I don't really look overweight. I don't think this is an urgent thing, but after hearing of all these mother fuckers croaking at like 50 years old, I'm gonna start taking my health a little more seriously.

Is running 2 miles a day everyday an effective way to lose weight if you eat moderately well? No breakfast, salad for lunch, fish for dinner?

Not eating breakfast is bad for you.

3/10

Well, the reason I don't eat breakfast is because I sleep from like 4 AM to 1 PM...rough partying schedule. Should I eat at 4 AM?

3/10. would have been 8/10 without the last part.

Op again. Sorry. Should have included all this bullshit in the first post.

When counting calories, is there like... a start amount? Doesn't your body burn some calories just from you being alive?

why shouldn't they run everyday?

First, for diet, calculate how much you eat per day in terms of calories. Next, subtract 200-500 calories from that. Then divide that by 6. The result is how many calories you should eat each meal, given that you eat six meals a day. If you only eat 3 meals, divide by 3 instead.

For running, follow a guide like this http://www.exrx.net/Aerobic/5K10KPrograms.html. It's important to integrate some cross-training too. Also, lifting weights is a very effective means of decreasing body fat %.

Beginners that run every day don't recover well, injure themselves, and burn out...

uhm...i'm a beginner and a fatass and i have yet to burn out. it's been like two weeks. then again i don't really run, just walk at a fast pace and occasionally run at a jog. isn't walking/running everyday (at a slower pace) better than doing it at a high intensity every other day?

Most people supposedly can't do HIIT, despite what they say.

Interval training of walking and running is better than steady state cardio though.

Two weeks is nothing compared to the rest of your life. You ought to be developing habits that will last that long, or else you'll be a fatty again.

So, yeah, when you've done it a year, then you can say that your body can handle cardio everyday. If this is in addition to weights and a hypocaloric diet, though, chances are your fatty ass will be in bed recovering from some tendonitis and eating twinkies while crying on your man-tits.

The exact times that you eat your meals don't matter much. If you sleep from 4AM to 1PM, then have breakfast at 1 and dinner a few hours before bed. Eat four meals in between, spaced two to three hours apart.

It's that simple.
