OK, so I did the ankle (5lb) and forearm (2.5lb) weights thing on Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday just spent the whole day shuttling between class and otherwise hanging out with the girl, Wednesday I went running and lifting like I normally do.

Tuesday was more or less perfect. Walking up and down hills weighted is decent burn. Wednesday was fucking terrible, since it made me look like a total jackass while running. I could only keep up a sprint for about a full minute before halting because my legs can't handle the extra 15 pounds. And I had to powerwalk up the incline back to my apartment instead of jogging, couldn't jog.

Also almost broke my ankle 3 times when I didn't land quite right and the weight twisted.

So now I'm sitting here with a slightly swollen right ankle and some sore shoulders from holding the forearm weights up. I think I'll just stick to them for daily wear, not for running with.

Picture not related.

faggot who accidentally copied your thread while it was still up here.

I've been wearing the ankle weights (no wrist) since Tuesday and begun walking to school rather than driving. The walk's about 20 minutes at a decent pace, unweighted. Probably about a mile. I've noticed decent burn, but my knees are easily aggravated and they're starting to give me hell. I'm cutting the weight down (to 3.5lbs) to see if my kneees come back to life.

OP, I'm glad you decided to stop running in these. Just walking is somewhat uncomfortable, and discomfort is never a good thing. I'm on the fence as to whether I'll keep these things on in the long run. The psychological impact of "working out" all day has made it easier to stick to my exercise routine, but that's really the only benefit I feel like I'm receiving.
