Alright /fit/ I need your guidance. In a few months I'm doing an army physical as part of the requirements to join the reserves. I'm not in bad shape but I'm not in particularly good shape either. Here are the requirements:

-2.4km run in under 11 minutes
-19 continuous push ups in under one minute
-30 continuous sit ups again under one minute
-6 continuous chin ups

I'm wondering if biking is as good as running, and that if I maintain my morning bike ride of roughly 20km each and every weekday morning I'll be able to meet that requirement.

Secondly my gym routine goes as follows:
Mondays-Legs
Wednesdays-Shoulders
Friday-Chest
All mostly compound workouts. I'm thinking I should just work on the Shoulders and Chest as I assume the bike riding will give my legs a decent workout. This way I'm be able to easily meet the chin up requirement.

Comment too long. Clickhereto view the full text.

if you are not overweight you should be easily able to do those without any training at all

No riding a bike is not enough for your legs.

I'm about 6'1", 180 lbs.

The push ups and sit ups I can do, but I can barely do a single chin up.

I used to not be able to do a single chin up. Now I could do six, maybe a few more, without resting.

Best advice I have is do lat pulldowns (overhand, underhand, narrow, wide--mix it up), rows, and bicep curls.

Well it's only entry level, they work you into shape during training but I guess their desperate for recruits. The only other people I saw there were little nerdy asian kids.
