Hey /fit/,

first time poster with some questions.

I used to be quite fat as a kid (not super McDonalds should be sued by me fat) and thanks to a growth spurt and this I have stretch marks on my arms and stomach. Not exactly the greatest things in the world, but that's life. So I'm wondering what you guys suggest to try and help them clear up as much as possible. I don't expect a magic cure but I know it's possible to do something at least (and don't trust advertisements).

Secondly, this is possibly more a self esteem issue but others here must of faced it. Obviously I'm a geek who prefers to dress in clothes 12 sizes too big for him but it's a bad habbit and makes me look fat compared to my current "pretty much fine" weight. How did other people in my position find the switch to not hiding under clothes go? I need to re-do my wardrobe (when clothes fall off shoulders they're TOO big) and thought I'd ask before I took the step myself.

Try a tan, makes them less noticeable, still not happy? Try some special creams specifically for stretch marks. No dice? Go to a dermatologist and get a microdermabrasion or some laser treatment. Or you can just let time pass. Granted it could take a few years before they clear up. If they ever will.

As for the clothes, can't be of help. My broad shoulders prevent me from wearing large baggy clothes. I look like a moving wall. I just wear button up shirts with boot-cut jeans.

You cant go wrong with anything fitted. Don't get too tight of fitted clothing though, leaves little to the imagination. You'll probably be compared to the Michelin Man at some point.

fuck, im chubby and still wear closer fitting clothes.

Depending on how you lost your weight, if you have a moderate amount of muscle base on then trimmer clothing shouldnt look that bad, i dont know what your worried about. If its that big an issue try darker clothes.
