So one day i was working on a car, I felt a massive severe sharp pain in my should, Docs cant find anything, Its been over 4 years, iam still haveing alot of pain, my hands go numb, my fingers ache like there on fire and nothing really helps, my docs are clueless, Does anyone have any idea's at all ?

The pain is all in my back near my shoulder blade and on the top back side almost.

I have something similar to this. Xrays and the like showed nothing.

I'm fairly certain its a weirded out tendon. I find that paying attention to good posture and moderate upper body weight lifting usually alleviates the pain.

But, you should probably see a sports medicine doctor to be sure.

I been doing research lately, i seem to get compressed disc and/or nerve lesions.
>> Anonymous
I had a friend who had something that sounds similar to this. Said it was a pinched nerve or something like that. PT should him some stretches to do that seemed to work for him.
>> Anonymous
I had a injury a few years ago, same symptoms. I fucked up the brachial plexus. Went on Lyrica for 2 years or so, that helped with the pain a lot.

Damage to nerves wont show up with Xrays or scans. Tricky to diagnose. Worse case scenario you are the latest to have RSD.

I got physio, and that helped a ton. Did almost 2 years of it, and now I continue to do it.

Get help. Not gonna get better on its own.

Any ideas for Releif in the meantime ?
My GF is a massage therapist, she does trigger point therapy but it dont seem to help, maybe for a few hours then it comes back.

I'd beg a doctor to give me a localized steroid injection there and see if that helps. That's what I did for my bursitis even though they wanted to send me to physical therapy, which was a complete joke.

There's so much shit under that shoulder blade your average doctor won't bother to try to figure it out.

Ive gotten a cortazone injection there before, it did nothing.

OP: Sounds like you have a frozen shoulder. My dad is a shiaztu therapist, and he deals with those a lot. I had one similar, but got it taken care of pretty quick. They can get real nasty. In some cases, they have to give knock you out before they can just do generic massages in the area because the pain would be too much.

I'm fucking lucky my Dad knows what hes doing, because some shiatsu therapists can make it worse. A lot, though, and make it better.

Pretty much this is whats happening. Muscles are tightening around your back, and probably actually down too your ass or even legs (not kidding here). Thats causing your other muscles to kind of compensate (arms/ hands) and tighten up as well. Its getting bad when they're tightening up enough to not just pinch a nerve, but cut it off completely, which is whats happening with your hand.

DO NOT DO THAT. Sorry man, but thats one of the worst things you could do right now. Getting pain meds is not recommended too much either, but obviously you may need something temporarily. The reason you have nerves in the first place is they let you know something is fucking up. Hiding the pain sometimes tricks you into thinking every things ok, while the damage gets worse.

If your GF is a massage therapist, ask her to do some points in your legs, ass, and back (in that order) a bit before she tries to work on your shoulder, arm, then hands. Especially ass. Those muscles get reeeeeeally messed up without you noticing. The reason you should do it in this order is because they're all connected, and one thing is causing the next. Also, ask her to work the shoulder blade a lot. At first, its not going to feel much different, but as things relax, you'll be good.

I can't stress this enough: Get more opinions from other doctors and massage therapists. Steer clear of Docs that recommend cortazone. That shit is not good for you. I've watched my grandpa slowly deteriorate because of that stuff. There were a host of other things going on with him, but the cortazone was what really did the most damage.

Obviously, if you really want to get those shots, its your choice. I would at least, though, get a couple other opinions from other doctors if thats what your going to do. Just going to a couple doctors and asking them basic info can reveal A LOT, but most people don't do that. They just assume the one doc they go to is right, or they don't want to insult them by going to other doctors. That is one of the biggest mistakes I see.

This is all just my opinion, but I've seen and experienced massage working these things out. One problem is that your case has gone on so long, that its gonna take some time to get it to feel better, but just hang in there.

Thanks for all your input guys, it has made me think about things i havent thought about before.

Find a better doctor. You should not be having pain like this and your doctor's incompetence is no excuse for it to continue.
>> Anonymous
Yeah the pain is like a bad toothache, it never goes away, i cant stand it anymore and no doctors have answers........ i hate this area, Iam moving to virginia soon, i hope there are reputable doctors there.
you know, ONES THAT CARE, no ones that just want a paycheck.

See a specialist next time. Sports doctor would be best or someone else who knows about shoulders.
General doctors don't know jackshit.

Hand go numb?
Maybe nerve injury, brachial plexus or the radial nerve with pass in the area your described. (behind the shoulder)

Relief: The usual pain killers like aspirin, paracetamol and ibuprofen.
Get a diclofenac gel, shit works wonders.

Cortezone will not fuck him up you fucking god damned idiot. If a tendon is inflamed it will fix it.

I hate anti-medicine/drug people.

Take some fucking vicodin until i gets fixed.
>> Anonymous
Cortisone will stop inflammation but will downregulate the collagen gene. The healing will take more time and if it is used too much, the tendon will remain weaker.

Agreed. I fucked up my knee one time and while nothing was broken, it was chronically sore on one side for a few months.

Went to a sports doctor, he shot it full of cortizone. Next week it was over 9000x better and never been a problem since.

Also, this.

Don't ask /fit/, it's full of "natural solutions" fags who think that modern medicine is just a buncha people playing with tubes.

Definitly see a neurologist and have him check your spine.
Could very well be a nerve problem due to spine problems.
>> Anonymous
OP here, believe it may be a nerv problem, specially with the severe pain in my hands and numbness.

Cortisone = gene therapy, eh?

You're a genius! Get to the Mayo clinic, they want to know how you can change peoples' genes so easily!

sounds about right. I had the same. Try capsain gels, hot water bottles, and avoid eating spicy food --Guaranfuckingteeed to give you a flareup.
Alcohol can do the same thing.
Also, learn how to meditate. Shit WORKS. But its best when combined with everything else.

Sports medicine Dr would be a better start. A physiatrist would be even better.

fwiw, my doc suggested trying medicinal marijane (Canadafag here). I didnt take it because I dont like the side effects... like being a zombie. Canadian hydro will mess you up.

My father had similar symptoms and was wrongly diagnosed with tendonitis. He was actually suffering from a severe blockage of his arteries which caused him to have a fatal heart attack at the age of 38. My dad was only about 15 pounds overweight and moderately active. I know that sounds scary, but don't rule it out. Get a special x-ray to check the plaque build up in your arteries.

shat that is scary, ill be 31 in a few days

Numbness in your arm can be a sign of a blockage, but OP probably knows whether or not he's at risk. If you're a smoker, overweight, or have a family history of heart problems or hypertension, you should probably get your shit checked.

You might also have impingement syndrome, but if it's really more in your back then it might be something else.

tl;dr, get a second opinion.

General consensus of this thread:

See some doctors/ get other opinions.

Non smoker, non drinker, pretty healthy.
