HUNGRY!! Anonymous
I just went from living with my dad to living with my mom again. In my dad's house, there was always something to eat. But at my mom's, not the case. My sister is moving back home, too, so my mom went from having to only feed herself to having to have food for 3 people. Plus she got laid off, so she can't afford to buy tons of food. Plus I'm broke so I can't buy food for myself until I get a new job. Lots of bad things happening at once. So in the end, I've barely eaten in the past 12 days and I desperately need some nourishment. Two weeks ago, my weight floated around 180 lbs. I've dropped down to the high 160s. That's about 10 lbs in 10 days. I'm dying here.

tl;dr I need suggestions for good, healthy, filling, CHEAP food.

good call. i can get one of those huge bags for like 5 bucks. but can you think of anything in addition to that? i was 210 in january and i lost a bunch of weight (the proper way, not by starving myself like i am now) so i don't want to load up on just carbs and starches, you know?

DO NOT always drink your hunger away. If you're very hungry (to the point where you almost pass out) it means your body lacks nutrients. You need to deliver those to your body ASAP. It's very bad for you in the long run.

Just to be clear, I have shopped for myself in the past and I know how to eat. I'm just looking for advice on how to really streamline my diet and make it as efficient and cost effective as I can

Try frozen vegetables, green peas, broccoli, ect. Whatever you like.

Oh believe me, I know. I was wobbly on my feet earlier today. That's when I dove into the last of the eggs we had in the fridge to keep me standing.

The more colorful, the better. If you make a bowl of salad for example try to make it with as much variety as possible, it's the best. If you're not able to get a variety of vegetables, I suggest tomatoes, cucumbers and carrots. Fruit you can choose whatever you want really but try to stick to the native fruits because tropical fruits (such as papayas, mangos...etc) tend to have a higher amount of fructose.

Okay, thanks for all the advice. I really appreciate it.

So when I start feeling hunger pangs how does this sound? Bowl of rice with a couple fried eggs tossed in with some frozen broccoli, peas, spinach and soy sauce for flavor? Will that give me sufficient nutrients without draining my wallet or it's last 8 bucks?

Buy multivitamin and mineral tablets? It's probably better than nothing in the short run.

Apart from that, try making a curry with any vegetables and meat you can afford, and freezing that for a few days. It goes well with rice or bread.

Do this, if feasible. If he's in the same city, even dropping in to raid the fridge is a good idea. I'm sure your father wouldn't turn you away for a meal a few times a week.

eat from trash- go find a restaurant, wait until closing time, they will have a lot of good food that just goes to waste. make sure you dress like a hobo, so the other street people don't stab you, and sleep inside your chest cavity for warmth.

go back to your dad's, moms are cunt niggers most of the time (I'm living with her only because my dad died -.- )
