Protein Absorption Anonymous
What is the maximum amount of useful protein that I can eat for each meal if I eat about 4 to 6 times a day at 3 hour intervals?

I've heard anywhere from 20-40g

1.5 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight daily
divide this total into the number of meals you're going to eat

Surprisingly yes, seems like a lot of people go for the whole, MOAR IS BETTAH!!!

They'll eat half a dozen eggs for breakfast, have a post workout shake, eat shitloads of protein with every meal.

I know I should eat about a gram of protein for every pound I weight, but many double that, is it even worth it?

Depending on your own bodyweight, metabolism and level of activity?

But is there a point where the body just flushes the protein out, and how does that vary between proteins... I know casein apparently breaks down much slower

What's wrong with eating a dozen eggs each morning, I'm a fucking beast!

protein is good, but dont assume that it's exempt from the "too much of a good thing" rule. Too much protein in your diet can fuck up your kidneys, will make your urine smell, give you bad breath, etc etc. unless you're doing extreme weight training you really dont need to exceed more than 1.2 g/kg plus quarter again to half again as much depending on how much you train/how intense you train.
