I've posted here before, so I apologize if this is familiar, but I've got a more specific issue this time

22, male, 5' 11", 160 lbs. (down from 205-210 lbs. over the last ten months or so)

I've been told repeatedly that I'm undereating.

I run three miles a day (1.5 in morning, 1.5 at night) and do pushups/crunches five days per week (I can elaborate if you like, but for brevity's sake I'll leave it at that right now)

Daily, I eat: 1 microwavable breakfast sandwich, 1 orange, 1 apple, 1 banana, and a normal-sized dinner.

This leaves me hungry every day. Normally, I just deal with it and go to sleep, but lately, the hunger has been considerably worse... and yet I can't bring myself to eat more without feeling insanely guilty

Example: yesterday, I was really hungry, so I had a six-inch Subway sub around noon (chicken breast, spinach, pickles, wheat bread, nothing bad) and felt a little better, but by the time I got home, I felt so bad about eating it that I skipped dinner

I'm just so paranoid; I feel like I can't justify adding more food to my daily routine unless a professional or a nutritionist or something tells me I ought to

cry apparently. if you're not prepared to research your diet and eat in a healthy and responsible manner i'm not sure what to tell you.

I've done lots of research, but changing up what I'm doing seems inconceivable for whatever reason (because it's worked so well), even though it's unpleasant

In addition, I know it's probably murdering my metabolism, which is what I fear the most

I guess I'm asking a lot; I'd like to know what /exactly/ I could add to my daily food intake to make it more reasonable... like, for example, would I be able to safely eat a 6-inch sub (a healthy one) at noon and be alright? Would I be able to buy a 12-inch, then eat the two halves separately throughout the day and be alright (for metabolism's sake)?

Another example of paranoia, for the record: today, I went to get a normal dinner from the college cafeteria (chow mein + chicken; usually quite satisfying), but it was closed due to a pipe leak or something, so I went across the street to some falafel place I'd never been to before and got a gyro... it was alright, but relatively small (and expensive :\), and I'm still pretty hungry at 11:57 PM...

...I've been hungry for awhile, but eating would make me feel guilty all day tomorrow (even so, it's too late to eat; if I do, it'll fuck with my morning run and make my stomach all sharp-pain-y)

if you've researched then why do you need to ask what to eat?

you need a diet plan. if you want to know what to eat and do it healthily then i suggest going to tnation, going to the authors section and reading articles by john beradi. he's a phd in nutritional biochemistry and you'll get more information by reading those articles than you will asking 4chan. chris shuggart is an ex-fatty also so check out his articles also. you'll learn a bunch of tasty and healthy meals. do yourself a favour and find out that eating well and being healthy is actually really nice and enjoyable, and what you're doing now is not.

Make a food journal. Allow yourself a certain number of calories a day. For your weight and exercise level, probably something around 2500 to maintain, i'd guess. Spread it out to 4-5 meals throughout the day and don't eat less than 3 hours prior to sleeping.

Keeping tabs of calories and allowing a set quota may help you to alleviate your neurosis about food guilt. Or get some professional help if this all fails you.

if you're feeling guilty about eating a 6 inch fucking sub that was chicken and vegetables you're very close to having an eating disorder. there are no two ways about it.

Do you know how unhealthy those are?
I start feeling guilt if I eat (or even if I am tempted to eat) something that is unhealthy too, and I like is since it has helped me along the way in losing weight.

problem #1 microwave breakfast sandwich wtf
that is bound to be full of trans fat and probably nitrates

push ups and crunches aren't gonna cut it
I'm assuming you have a gym at your college
that is where you need to head

If you REALLY can't get to a gym or buy dumbells you need to at least start doing pull ups, lunges, and split squats
Also working out chest and abs 5 times a week is stupid. If your working out to failure you should only be working out twice a week max. If your not working out to failure your just fucking around.

Seriously the guilt over eating has to stop. If anything the stress is going to screw up your metabolism even more. If you feel signs of hunger, you obviously have a problem. Someone suggested a calorie diet. Try that because your are dangerously close to further developing an eating disorder.
