Okay /fit/ put this to rest. I have no alternative to running on concrete while jogging. I've been doing it for about a week and don't plan on stopping any time soon. Am I fucked?

Yeah, you're pretty much fucked. If you continue to run on concrete you will damage your knees.

But I see tons of people jogging on the sidewalk in the morning! Most of them are /fit/ and have probably been running on those sidewalks routinely for months/years. I think there's something you are not telling me. I smell bullshit.

Im the in same boat as you. I run on the concrete anyways. I'm too fucking hardcore to stop and worry about my joints.

if you have strong joints go for it

i killed my joints running a mile sadly

Walk instead. Less impact-heavy on your body and gives you a good workout if you do it properly.

if you have t o run on concrete, get some REALLY good running shoes...and those people running on concrete look fine now b ut when they're OLD their joints will get problems.

i run in my nike frees on concrete and dont give a shit about my future plausible joint problems, because im 17 and already have arthritis in my left leg n foot. This is due to the surguries ive had on that leg and foot. The surguries messed up my bone structure a little. So i dont care about having fucked joints in the future. Im just gonna man up and take the joint pain like i already do. Also, rubber tracks are nice when i can run on the local one when its not locked
