sup /fit/, ye of awesome advice and infinite knowledge

so i need to lose 20 pounds. i was on the elliptical today for 30 minutes, said i ran off ~450 calories ..which i think is lying to me, whatever. anyways, to the point. for dinner i made a smoothie, consisted of 1 banana, 1 cup of yogurt, some frozen fruit, and filled to the top with vitamin D whole milk. this gave me about 3 glasses worth.

is the vitamin D milk going to end up fucking my entire routine? 3 glasses worth ..should i just switch to skim milk? does /fit/ recommend any other smoothies to make? how long would i lose said 20lbs if i do the ellip every day, losing ~450 calories, and eating a slim dinner like this for?

from what I hear cardio + weights on the same day fucks with your burning processes, something about them being opposite. Not sure of the specifics but the hearsay is that they clash with each other's progress.

are you shitting me? ive always done cardio first to get my blood flowing and heart rate up, then do weights to help build muscle more productively. NOW I HEAR THIS NONSENSE?!

why would you deplete your glycogen, then go lift weights with your muscle being the only energy to draw from.

I say it as I reads them. If this be mistaken, feel free to correct and provide back up evidence. The theory I heard seemed sound legit, but that might just because they were using sciency words and sounded like they knew a thing or two about physical training.

alright, so do 30 minutes of ellip one day, then lift weights the other? why not just run 30 minutes everyday? wouldnt that produce faster results?

weightlifting elevates your metabolism for a few days afterwrads. and more muscle = more fat burned. also lifting weights burns more immediate calories

You can do both on the same day relax, but you should always lift first then do cardio. Otherwise like someone else said it'll fuck up your lifting/gains.

also, eating something real for dinner

This is fine.

OP here.

So new routine. Lift weights, do ab crunches, etc etc., then do 30-40 minutes of cardio. Thank you /fit/

drink half your post workout shake after weights, half after cardio. this keeps your body from eating muscle during cardio

>>151624

Thats fine long as your still doing the long time period between them and not one after the other, otherwise cardio first

why do you think the 450 is a lie?

wait what the fuck? now this shit is reversed? i plan to get everything done in the span of an hour. so now im hearing do cardio first then lift?

OP here. Besides, no one answered my initial question, whole vitamin d milk, 3 glasses = bad? fucks the entire concept of running, dieting?
>> Anonymous
no but it is 3x more then you need. Just drink 2 glasses of water instead

for fucking dinner?

yes, use skim milk, that shouldn't even be a question. And of your dilemma of either running or lifting first, if you are running in the morning and then lifting at night, this is fine; if you are doing both in the span of two hours, lift first as you will be tired from running and it will be harder to lift.

sry wasn't reading your thread very well, just use skim milk instead as above said. Thought you said you drank 3 glasses of whole milk a day.
