Hey /fit/.

I used to be 160lbs maybe 2 years ago. Now I'm 202lbs (5"6 20 years old). I started binge eating because my best friend got terminal cancer over the holidays (what a shitty time too, with all that food around), and I just can't stop eating and get off my ass to workout. Because of a friend, tonight I've started doing SQUATZ and some crunches, leg raises and pushups (girly ones). My friend tells me I shouldn't over do it with the exercises, and do them maybe 5 times a week a the most at a low rep (15 times for 3 reps? Is that how it goes?) and then go running for any other time I want.

The biggest thing I want to do though is to at least get rid of my stretch marks, at best to get fucking ripped.

I have access to a free campus gym for the next few weeks, as well as being able to buy pretty healthy food (I eat smaller portions, as well as more healthy stuff like a 1.5l bottle of water everyday instead of juice, fish and chicken with veggies instead of really buttery baked potatoes and steak covered in bbq sauce). But I'm still not seeing an improvement on the food side of things.

I want to lose as much weight as possible as fast as possible, in a healthy way (like running all week for hours and hours instead of throwing up everything)

Halp /fit/ halp! (sorry for shitty pictures)

Hey give me some credit guys. At least I'm catching it now instead of getting up to 300lbs, deluded in "BUT BIG IS BEAUTIFUL" by my ignorant classmates and giving a shot at becoming a little higher on the scale.

you better not give yourself an ounce of credit till you hit your goal or you will not push hard and rage through your workouts(if they require rage which some should)

work hard, let the trolls get to you as motivation

that being said

I'm glad I'm some sort of motivation for bulimics everywhere. I'm not really giving myself credit, it's just the girls I know are all art freaks and think having your stomach rolling over your legs is sexy.

At least I know why everyone in my musclemags scream while weightlifting in the pictures.

not completely true... i had some myself but now, a lot of pushups crunches and skipping rope later, u can barely see them anymore. In my opinion the best to do is just doing exercises and counting calories.

so starting a food diary to keep myself from binge eating. Is measuring food a good thing to do or does it just lead to neuroticism?
>> Anonymous
>>351487
I'd say both... i started counting about 10 month ago and im still doing it... i lost about 75 pounds and im pretty much back to normal when it comes to eating but i cant and i dont even want to stop counting cuz im pretty sure i would go fat again

Fat guys post pics all the time, but when a girl does everyone goes batshit insane.

Okay, first off I'd try to gradually get into better eating habits: cut down on the meat, eat organic instead of processed, try to dodge fructose corn syrup because it makes you hungry, and eat a healthy amount of fiber + water (you need the water to go with the fiber to poop correctly, plus it helps flush your system -- thanks nutrition class!).

And especially cut out the soda. It's one of the easiest ways to gain weight and it causes a host of other problems.

When it comes to exercise you can never go wrong by walking/jogging with inserts of sprints. I think it's been proven that sprints plus walking is better for you than a constant jog for weight loss, plus it's fun to mix it up.

I mostly know of good eating habits vs exercise since I need to exercise more myself, so sorry I can't help you out more in that area.

For stretch marks I think it helps to wear tight clothing when working out to help the body grow more accustomed to the weight lost. Also Vitamin E and cocoa butter is used a lot for stretch marks.. I can't remember if there was another option or not.

Hope this helps! Good luck, and sorry to hear about your friend. Keeping a positive attitude will be your best ally during this time.

no most certainly do not make a food journal, you will become completely OCD about it

Keep a food journal when you are at the last 5-10 lbs to shed and you have to get more technical

just eat as clean as possible and frequently, cannot stress this enough(both of the points)

eating every 2-3 hours completely curbs your appetite unless you are that british skank who eats 30k cals a day

doesnt mean a full meal just have a fruity snack or some celery

pro tip you burn calories eating celery
and water drink ALOT OF IT, burns calories eating water too, so its another negative calorie thing. jus tmake sure its cold water

eh, it'd still hit it.

NO, IT IS COMPLETELY TRUE. THEY NEVER GO AWAY. THEY CAN FADE BUT THEY ARE STILL THERE.

I don't really believe in counting calories, because honestly if you're eating right at normal (non Super Size) proportions you have absolutely no reason to. Just remember meat and dairy can make you fat easily if not prepared right (just cut the milk products out, try rice milk in your cereal), but that you can eat as many vegetables, fruits, whole grain, and beans as you want. Healthy nutrition will help you lose weight faster because you'll be healing your body in the process.

Not OP, but why does cold water make you lose weight?
>> Anonymous

your body has to work to heat it up, where by burning calories.

burns more calories to heat the water up.

I think I'll keep it just to make sure i'm eating enough, and not put down stuff like I ATE A SMALL BAG OF GUMMI BEARS GODDAMN YOU FATTY. Rather to see where I'm lacking.

>>351497
Well I am pretty pudgy. That's the thing though is I do everything you've said. I only have pop a few times a month, and it's usually the made with real sugar kind, I don't eat anything with corn syrup or high amounts of sugar (I check everything religiously for that shit, and refuse to eat the jam we have because of it). I'll keep all that in mind though.

That's okay, I'm hoping that after I lose weight I can convert the rest of my body into a ripped body because I'm going into college again, but this time for the Trades (electrician), so I don't want to be a stereotypical Fat ugly dyke.
