So which is better, doing half your lifts one day, waiting a day, then doing the next half and repeating (basically half a body workout every 2 days)

Or working one body part on monday, one tuesday, break wednsday, then thursday and friday another body part and a 2 day break.

It would seem like the increased frequency of working out half your body every 2 days is better (takes 48 hours to recharge your muscles) but I see a lot of guids that have one-part per day of the week exercises. Isnt that too slow for serious weight gain?

I do two routines and do them every other day.

i.e. Monday-routine 1
Tuesday- break
Wednesday- Routine 2
Friday- Routine 1

Doing it all togther would put a greater strain on the muscle.

It also depends on how hard you have worked the muscle as you may need 48-72hours rest and if you don't need that rest you haven't worked hard enough.
