Long story short:

I find myself doing less as of late because the summer has hit and I'm now a student.

Without hitting the gym, how do you suggest I work the areas below my neck (to prevent a double-chin) and my abdominal muscles to prevent fat buildup and remain slim?

Also, what's a good way to plot and work toward a goal of running 4 miles a day and how should I start (seeing as 4 miles is obviously too much for me at this point)?

I'm in the same boat but I'm a bit older and I'm worried that if I don't sort myself out, I'm going to end up becoming some kind of whale by the time I'm 25.

Stop eating so much. Eat healthier. But seriously GTFO of the kitchen because if fit thinks 5'7 130 pound females are obese you are morbidly.

Uh. I eat pretty well, I think. Whole grain breakfast, no dinner and usually something like home-made italian or a weight-watchers microwave meal if I'm lazy.

I'm at my ideal weight but I want to firm up and I'm very worried I'll become overweight if I don't start doing something about my life-style: Read - I am fucking lazy.

>goal of running 4 miles a day
Stupid goal. Fix it. Running, like other training, is not meant to be the same thing over and over daily. A goal of being able to run 4 miles without stopping is fine, but you'll never reach it if you just do the same thing every day.

While working on your running, don't be afraid to do run-walk-run-walk intervals until you can just run non stop, you don't hurt the caloric burn much at all by adding the walking bits.

Eat less, exercise more. You don't need anything more specific than that at this stage.

>at my ideal weight

enjoy your early death and inability to run 4 miles in one bout.

Ok first of all little grain products, eat more fish and less spagetti, bcs spagetti provide a huge boost of energy if not used it will become fat. So avoid eating before going to sleep. Breakfast and about 3-4 oclock the last you eat something. Try to do some sports at least 3 times a week.
Go and find a boyfriend/girlfriend. Then you can switch the sprots time to sex time but then it has to double so 6 time a week or so ^^.
Have fun

just eating right doesn't help you lose weight, you need to actually excercise. you can start by briskly walking half a mile first then gradually move from walking to jogging.

basically you need cardio to burn all the fat. if you have determination you will lose weight.

At what point did I say I was overweight?

I'm 5'5 @ 161 lb.
I am not the OP: I am hijacking his thread because chances are, the same thing will work.

okay, since I am in the same boat but decided to do shit on my own rather than ask /fit/, I'll give you an idea of what I've done and what's come out of it.

Food:
First, this goes without saying, but still - no more junk food.
No white flour products, pasta, etc.
No dairy products.
Drink water and water alone.

In a normal day I eat:
9:00 - a cup of wheaties with one cup of regular soy milk
12:00 - grilled chicken breast with steamed vegetables
3:00 - one apple or orange and a handful of roasted almonds
6:00 - grilled turkey breast and green beans

this gets me in at around 1200 calories a day - keep in mind these are not SUPER SIZED portions.

Execise:
I started off walking 2.5 miles every day for a week. Once I had dropped the water weight, I could go longer distances and began to jog off and on. Now I jog/walk 5 days of the week for 3.5 miles.

I've lost 18 pounds in a month by doing this, and to be honest, it wasn't hard at all.

Do you think it's worth getting a pedometer to work out how far one walks or jogs?
