Ok /fit/ here's the deal, I weigh 250lbs and I'm 6 feet tall. I'm overweight I know but I don't look it but regardless I want to lose like 50+ lbs. I'm going to limit my calorie intake to like 2,500ish a day lol and do 1 mile of jogging every day. I've been doing it for the past week and I'm feeling better but I'm just wondering how long it's going to take to reach my goal. What does /fit/ think?

Pic unrelated.

A mile is nothing. Jog for an hour, regardless of distance covered, then do some light lifting for an hour to burn calories.

It'll take 3 or 4 weeks.

forever. 2500 calories is enough to support a working man.
less calories and more jogging.

Limit your calorific intake to 1,500, and start off jogging but running out for 10 minutes, and the turn around and run back for 10 (duh).

Next day, add a minute on to the outward journey, and obviously the return journey.

Add a minute on each day, throwing in a rest day here and there. You'll soon become fitter, healtheir and lose the extra lbs.

Remember to stretch (srsly stretch) after running, and get some decent running shoes.

Listen to this man. 1 mile is nothing- maybe 15 minutes on a treadmill? Since you're starting off, try 30min-an hour. Increase the intensity as working out gets easier.
50 pounds is a lot but if you stick to it, you can burn it off within the year.

I find sprint -> walk -> sprint -> walk a lot more effective when your first starting out. The point is to get your heart pumping and keeping it up. As long as you know your limits and don't overdue yourself, your heart will stay at a higher rate with sprinting/walking spurts.

Do it for more than 20 minutes though, otherwise your just wasting your time.

Working out takes patience.
Your body's gonna have to get used to the fact that you're being active and it can't keep storing the fat anymore...

You're never wasting your time working out, it's not as efficient at burning fat, but every little bit of exercise helps, like taking the stairs instead of elevator, walking to places instead of driving etc.

You're claiming someone can lose 50+lbs in 3-4 weeks. Unless he's in a concentration camp eating nothing at all and working on a railroad 20 hours a day, that's completely impossible.

Sorry, I didn't mean to agree that it'll take 3-4 weeks to lose 50lb. I thought>>8356was in shock about how long it was going to take to make proper progress-- just disregard my post. I suck cocks and all that...
