Here's something I've been wondering about pretty much ever since I've become insecure enough to work on my physical appearance: Is there actually any difference between upper and lower abs? Do some ab workouts ACTUALLY only work the top half, and some only work the bottom? Or is that all bullshit, because it's the same muscle? Greatly confused about this, any answers appreciated.

it's bullshit, its the same muscle.

lower abs are mainly genetics and super low bodyfat.

It's all one muscle, but they're certain exercises that work different sections, which can cause them to be more defined. You cant target a section, but you can change up your workouts and see what works for you.

super low isnt 7-8% its not that hard to get to. and everyone has them, its not like your born without lower abdominals, unless you mean people that carry fat in their midsection which just means they have to work harder
