I've been wondering, how accurate are the calorie counters on cardio machines? The ones that let you enter your weight and stuff.

Also, is any one kind of cardio specifically better than another? I've noticed that I can do an upright bike for 40 minutes and not be nearly as sweaty as after using an arctrainer for 15. I'm guessing the arctrainer is more efficient for exercising?

they usually automatically count calories for a 150 pound person, unless you customize it.

so, not very accurate.

Cardio is essentially all the same, it targets your heart. But the difficulty of the activity depends on how much muscular strength you have in the muscle groups that are being used by the exercise.
