I don't see much wrong with your current schedule--other than the fact that if you're toying with the idea of waking up at 7 or 8, then you shouldn't be going to sleep at 3. If you want to try something different, you can try using the running as a warm-up before lifting, but running in the morning would definitely have it's advantages, including like you said, you can go at it a bit harder. In terms of nutrition, however, I would definitely eat before and after!! It's not eating that's the problem with weight, it's what you eat! If you eat something nutritious before and after (and the rest of the day) you'll be well on your way! Try to get 6 meals during the day, and try to keep each meal balanced (1/2 plate greens, 1/4 each lean meat and carbs), and strive for about 30g of protein per meal. You'll cut up in no time! Enjoy!
