Hey /fit/

This year, I've decided to dedicate myself to getting the body I've always wanted. Unlike a lot of the tards that send you all into a frenzied rage. I have realistic expectations on what I want my body to look like.

Right now I'm 5'11 and 142 - 144 lbs. By normal standards I'm considered very thin to most people. During my final year of high school I did crew, which sent me on the right path to physical fitness. But when it was over, I was left unsatisfied with the results. I do have definition, but its not as pronounced as I would like it to be. I still have some flab at the bottom of my abs.

I was wondering if you guys could offer me some sound advice on how to get the most out of my workouts. Because right now I'm pretty much feel like a dumb-fuck. I'm still doing the same workouts I did back when I was in high school.

I go about every other day for a little over 2 hours.

I do:

20 mins on the bike

Three sets of 25 pushups, crunches, and butterfly kicks. I'll also do minute long stabilizers and wall sits in between.

take up a sport like squash/football (the world football not idiot american football) or an sport that requires sprinting. Eat proper. Do HIIT. Not rocket science. in b4 squats.

I think I might join a diving/swim club near me.

What diet would be best for the body that I want?

Also, I'm a newfag to /fit/ so I dont really know what HIIT means.

Don't listen to that guy. Most of the time people either want to gain or lose so much weight that they go workout/eat right for a month and don't see the results they want as fast as they would like and they give up.

Okay, thats why I set my body goal where I did.

I'm pretty confident that my body will react quickly to my planned workout regimen.

That being said, is 3 - 5 months an unrealistic goal to set?

This site is nice. It divides stuff up by body group, type of exercise you want, etc.

No problem. I know you said you're skinny, but perhaps you need to cut some body fat and lower your body fat percentage? Do you know what it's at now? Even if you're thin, if what's holding you back is a little layer of fat on your lower abdomen or whatever, your solution is going to have to be to cut fat. For that, I recommend resistance or weights to maintain your current muscles, cardio to lose the fat, and cutting calories from what you eat. Those three combined should get you to where you want to go.
