/fit/, I'd like to add walking 3-4 miles to my already existent cardio workout (35 mins running, 32 mins elliptical, 15 mins jogging uphill), but do it every other day. Will this be a waste of my time or actually do something?

If you do it instead of using a car, it'll save you gas. $4.00/gallon and rising.

That was pretty much the underlying reason, but will it actually burn anything?

Maintain a brisk walk pace, and breath correctly. You'll end up burning fat calories directly. Low intensity long term activity like walking burns fat. Anything higher intensity like jogging and running burns glucose stores. It works out the same calorie wise which is why walking will only get you so far, but it has the advantage of burning fat directly.
