dear /fit/

im working out in the gym and after working out i took a brief moment to investigate on the display case of the cabinet near the bench press. Its full of of these so called fat burners and muscle enhancers. One thing bothers me, in the back of the label of the creatine bottle it says there: d not intake any caffeinated drink while taking this capsule The other stuff there like the whey protein shake also tells about caffeine. I'm worried since before and after working out I drink a bottle of carbonated energy drink (the one full of taurine and ginseng but also chuck loads of caffeine).

question: is caffeine bad for people who work out or its just bad for people who are taking creatine or other muscle building stuff?

caffeine isn't really great man. Most people who drink coffee only do because they are dependent on caffeine and need it for the energy. I wouldn't drink it OR eat fat burners. PROTEIN, EGG WHITES, SQUATZ

Yeah /fit/ slow nearly to a stop at this hour.
I haven't heard of caffeine being harmful when taken with any kind of supplements, so I don't know why there'd be a warning label, I know I just stay away from it because it burns extra calories, and I'm trying to gain weight. Also, I don't like capsules for creatine, try to go powder or delivery system if you can. I think your body absorbs more.

tl;dr - I don't know so much, but I don't think caffeine hurts you.

caffeine is an excellent upper that DOES have an effect on weightlifting. It helps me out a lot. I am a powerlifter, and train with lots of powerlifters, and all of us use some kind of caffeine or ephendrine supplementation.

that said, if you're planning on using creatine as well (I personally do not), make sure to keep your hydration levels very high! caffeine is a diuretic, which means that it will dehydrate you.

There is a bit of contention around the use of caffeine in conjunction with creatine; it really has not been proven either way whether or not caffeine consumption curbs the effectiveness of creatine absorption into the blood stream.

There is NO danger involved when taking caffiene with creatine, the only reason they print the warning is due to the aforementioned contention. In short, it is all about the absorption of creatine, not about bodily harm or danger.

It should also be noted, that most pre-workout pump supplements contain both creatine and caffeine in them.

Personally, I take both creatine and caffeine together in my pre-workout supplement (MRI Black Powder), and have noticed significant energy gains since using said product.
