I don't know about you guys, but I have learned in life that if I don't practice or learn something properly that I will suck at it. I'm sure that there are plenty of people so bold as they can say they can do something that they don't do, or don't do regularly. I think you're full of shit!

To get to the point, I'd like to bring up fighting. I can honestly say that I haven't been in a fight since having had childhood scuffles many years ago. I'd like to tell you that I'm a great fighter. I mean, I do workout and I go on runs regularly. I'm definitely in good condition. The fact is though, I do not practice fighting nor have I been in any fights for quite a while. Having seriously thought about this, I need to practice!

Here's the catch, it must be something I can do by myself. I do all of my exercising by myself, well, only exception being when I'm trying to lift more than 150LB on the benchpress. It'd be stupid for me to do that alone, I could get stuck with a bar against my chest..

Oh, /fit/. Teach me to fight!

How do you plan to learn to fight without fighting? You could get a bag and practice your punches, I guess. Go sign up at a fighting teaching place.

Korean movies based on manga are not a good basis for learning how to fight.

im sure that if you were actually locked in a room for 10 years punching a brick wall and watching the ocasional boxing game you would be better off than you were at the start. at least in terms of being able to punch a brick wall

That will come in handy if he ever has to fight a brick wall.

you know that saying "like running into a brick wall"? well with years of dedicated training that would no longer apply to you.

Join a boxing/judo/muay thai/etc class. Do your time learning shit from people that actually know what they're doing, and getting the shit beat out of you. You're not going to learn anything by doing something useless like going to the gym and randomly hitting the heavy bag with no technique.

Krav Maga = Jew Jitsu

I'm not even really joking. That's what it really is.

Krav Maga is better with a partner. A lot of it is about following your natural reactions to things, but that's just the problem. It's your reaction, so you only really learn it if you have someone pushing you every which way.

I'd go with boxing or maybe capoeira. Also, capoeira looks cool.

lol to the massive dangers of a 150lb bench press

are you a 125lb woman?

do you realize that this obsession w/a spotter is a weak person phenomenon?

amongst men, you 'dont deserve' a spot till 315+, this includes board work

also, how fucking often are you doing singles?

One of these has is applicable to fighting. The other is applicable to break dancing. Can you figure out which ones?
