Hey /fit/, I'm a fat bastard, but a fairly strong one (260 lbs, around 200 is lean tissue). I'm mainly trying to burn fat and not bulk too much, should I stay in the hypertrophy range or go up in reps? I know that hypertrophy will make me gain muscle weight, but I've always been told that it's also the best way to burn fat.

Also, is it a good idea to do protein shakes too? I've been drinking some at lighter serving sizes because I'm not looking to bulk up a ton but I figure that it would still help the gains from lifting, is that retarded or should it work?

Thanks for any help.

anyone?

Just add some cardio to your current routine imo. Protein shakes are great if you don't eat enough/get enough proteinm which most lifters don't without them.

do cardio once or twice a week and decrease your caloric intake on every day you don't train

Well, I was going to do cardio 5-6 days a week. Should I not do that?
