Why am I losing my hair prematurely (I'm 21 years old). I eat healthy whenever I can, I stay active as possible as I can (play tennis three times/week and basketball and squash approximately once/week). I guess I can get quite stressful due to school and whatnot, but who doesn't really? It's really affecting my entire life.

To much testosterone due to working out to much. Way to fuck your self over buddy, the lack of hair will not be made up for due to your XBawks hueg muscles. Enjoy your early onset baldness.

I don't work out at all, just play sports. Way to be a dick, asshole.

Shit's entirely genetic.
Not much you can do but embrace it, or spend a small fortune on medical hair restoration.

Oh sorry, then in your case, to much testosterone due to stress from sporting events. way to fuck your self over buddy, the lack of hair will not be made up for by just being skinny. Enjoy your early onset baldness.
TL DR: you fucked your self and I'm lolin.

doesn't know what he's talking about.

It's genetic. Your grandfather is/was probably bald as a baby, right? I'm sure your male cousins on that side are dealing with it too. I started going bald at 18, now 22 and it's pretty thin, but not terrible. I just keep it clipped, it looks alright.

OP - no one will ever care about your hair as much as you do, the only thing you can do about it is embrace it or pay lots of money for surgery :P

if you're in good shape just shave it off and get a light tan

Although testosterone plays a role in hair loss, the level of testosterone at a given moment at age 21 has nothing to do with it. Where testosterone is concerned, the only sure-fire way to avoid baldness is to get yourself castrated before the onset of puberty.

OP, if your hairloss is similar to your picture, then Rogaine can help, since that's the part of the head where the stuff works.

If not, or if you want to avoid having to use and pay for Rogaine for the rest of your life, I'd say to shave it. That's what I do, and I've been losing my hair since age 17.

SPOILER: You're half right. It's also passed from the father.

A recessive gene requires both parents to have its allele before it expresses, so make that the mother's father and the father both.

The top of my hair is thinning and i'm only 18.

I mean, as if i didn't have enough physical flaws. Seriously, i must have gotten all the shit genes from the family.

Try Bosley. I don't know how much it costs, but if my hairloss got serious, I wouldn't have to think hard about spending 5-10k on it.
