Hey, /fit/.

I'm going to be on my local Varsity football team and I will be a senior next year.. And this year I was a left-tackle player, and sucked balls. But I am better on defensive end..

Anyways, I want to RUN FASTER and last long running. I know, I know.. Just jog every day but I want like an exact regime that I can do.

Now here's the one instance where weights will work. Put some light ankle/thigh weights on while jogging, and maintain the same speed.

Or just sprint instead of jog, same deal.

Can I sprint while those ankle/thigh weights are on me?

If you want to completely destroy your joints go for it.
Leave the ankle weights at home, they won't help you gain speed. If you want to be fast, sprinter fast that is, you need to be strong. Notice how mostly all the 100m runners have a stronger, heavier build to them? Its for strength and power, which is all that matters in speed.

You should already be lifting weights so heres a tip to get some explosive strength and acceleration, during squats, try to perform a controlled burst upward. Same with all your other leg exercises, try to explode from the lift in a steady manner that won't hurt yourself.

Next step would be plyometrics, some uphill sprints, and tire drags-uphill,facing, and behind. Try doing plyo one day, uphill sprints the other, and so forth.

mostly what this guy said. uphill sprints with a weighted vest is what worked for me.
