I never visited here before and never took an interest in Fitness but recently I've exercised less and my metabolism is pathetic, so I've put on a bit of weight.

Looking to lose some weight really quickly. I'm not fat, just podgy, and would like to be toned so that I feel better about myself. Anyways, I've got a membership at the gym but all I seem to do is run for 20minutes, get a sweat on, and then do a few weights. Although it tires me etc I can't help but think I'm wasting time not training right.

Anyone got a good idea of the cardio/weight ratio I should be aiming for to lose weight but gain muscle at the same time so that it evens out?

Also, I've heard protein drinks help, is this a huge difference or should I just carry on as normal?

Thanks /fit/

Well we can't know that until you give us some information.
Age. Weight. Height. Frame (small medium large).

What exactly do you do when you go to the gym? What weights do you lift? What does your diet consist of?
