/fit/lefaddles,

Let's discuss financial health a second. (in before "rent your blowjobs" and "charge for SQUAAAAATZ".) I'm sure at least a few of you have figured out the good life - you've got a cushy job that pays well and leaves you with way too much time, which is why you're able to afford to be here. What's your secret? Bonus points if the training is easy. I already have a lot of IT experience so someething in that field would be best, especially if I can do it while travelling.

So, please, your suggestions.

lt;dr: name a good-paying, relatively stress-free job that provides autonomy.

Right now I'm the opposite, I'm in a deep depression from a break up, unemployed and living at home (Before the break up I had a decent job and was about to move out and go to college) all I do is work out and browse /fit/ basically.

Open your own business, its a huge amount of work at first but eventually once you pay off your loans and get into the swing of things, you'll be making a lot of money, and you can hire people to run the business while you relax.

Um... yeah. That's where I'm at. I'm about ready to pack it in because I've been doing this "a lot of hard work" business for about 6 years and all it's done is give me grey hairs.

Surfing 4chon doesn't qualify as IT work.

I put my money into a few different areas, but my best returns have been from putting it into a nice diversified SQUATZ

Travel, no stress, high pay, that sounds like a dream job.....

fyi, I just read something that rich people have on average less time for leisure, work longer hours, and have higher stress jobs than the not-so rich, all in the pursuit of money.

Open up a strip club, man. Seriously, how hard can it be to run. Renovate building, secure licenses, hire a few veteran strippers to teach the young local girls the game, and PROFIT.

Actually, a couple of guys from my IT department and me are going to take a small business class at the local commuter college to learn the ins and outs of ownership. We figured that since the economy is going down the tanker, we should open up a vice establishment, b/c thats what people waste their money on when times are tough. Sex, drugs, and alcohol FTW.

Well a job I can telecommute would be good. regular vacation time and flexible hours would be a close second. It doesn't have to be high pay - 60k-100k CDN would be perfect. opportunity to work hard and make more appreciated. running my own biz and having lived in israel, I can handle my share of stress.

I should probably ask this again in about 8 hours when people are showing up to work. :P

certified pharmacy tech here. pays well but stress level fluctuates from "im getting payed for this?" to "holy shit where the hell did all these fuckers come from?"

im $14.80/hr but get raises every 1040 hrs worked. caps off at about $17/hr

getting certified can happen on the job, unless your state laws dont allow it. all you need to know is how to count pills and proportions

ahahah. With a strip club, you're getting into the bottom-feeding part of the restaurant/hospitality biz. Small business class won't cut it. You obviously have no experience in the restaurant/bar industry, otherwise you'd know that the chances for failure are insanely high with a normal establishment. With a strip club, you don't just have to worry about the usual shit, you also have to worry about attracting good talent and keeping it happy, you also have to worry about keeping the police and the DEA away (there WILL be shitloads of drugs going in and out of your place, more than usual for for a bar/restaurant), having good security, etc. etc.

You are so fucked.

Graphic Designer here, specialised in 3D - Pays well mainly due to the specialisation. Jobs are never the same since its essentially "art" so I can stay interested, and I like to have something tangible to show for my work at the end of projects.

Once you get a render rig set up (expensive, but required) you can effectively work wherever the hell you want, as long as you take a laptop and phone.

Would highly recommend it. Only downside is clients that don't have a fucking clue about creative design or visualisation, but insist on taking control like the suits they are, but they are avoidable once you get a good client base.

Not working right now, though i'll be earning money next month through running a large website.

public sector. It oesn't pay the best, but no stress, and cushy benefits.

If you've got a nest egg to carry you through the bad times, consulting work is pretty good. You work less hours and make more money, but you don't always find work until you're well known. I'd rather have loads of free time and live modestly than have a mansion and work my ass off every day.

Also protip: Don't get any kids. They suck you dry.

I hear that. I've been a consultant and basically blew my nest egg getting this biz set up. I calculate I'll be out of this line of work in a few months - as well as out of a place to live. :P

I'm a college student and I live at home :/

I only work part-time so I have plenty of time to hit the gym, especially since it's summer

Chances for failure are high only if you're an idiot and didn't have a business plan. And you sound like a typical weak willed desk jockey with that kind of attitude. So cry moar fagboy.
