hey /fit/

Without going into the details of it, I'm looking for a way to quickly expel caffeine from my system. What works? Drink water + go piss?

You have to piss it out, fortunately as a diuretic it will help you piss more.

that would only work if it is water soluble. First question that needs to be answer is it water soluble, and readily flushed out?

Also you wanna avoid drinking too much water or it can kill you.

I'm pretty sure it is, everything i read on caffeine says you have to piss it out.

Just take a pinch of salt with every 1/2L water to avoid unbalanced electrolytes. You'd have to drink about 8-10+ L water in a short amount of time to die from water.

Water is probably the best bet. But if you're doing this to try and fall asleep (which is likely, given the time of day), then having to piss all night isn't going to be a great alternative. Best to go do squats (5x5, 200 pounds or more) to wear yourself out. Then you'll fall asleep with no problem!

If anyone needed further proof, here it is: squats are the solution to all of lifes problems.

Semi-related. I found this yesterday.

Downing some strong coffee or an energy drink after a workout -- along with a carbohydrate, such as pasta -- can help people feel better more quickly, researchers said.

A team of Australian researchers said that people who recover with caffeine had 66 percent more glycogen in their muscles four hours after exercise. That means there is more energy for the next day's training or performance, said senior author John A. Hawley.

The study was based on a series of tests on seven long-distance cyclists. Though it was a small study, it was conducted with a placebo control and without researchers knowing which substance the riders were given. This kind of experiment is considered the most reliable.

The researchers said that they used a high dose of caffeine -- about equal to five or six cups of coffee -- to establish the connection, but hope to show that it also works at lower doses.
