/fit/ how do i get rid shrink/reduce that annoying layer of fat on my stomach?

17 Male 5'11" 119 lbs and quite lanky

I can feel that i have fairly prominent abs, but they barely show.

Are they not prominent enough? Do i need to run? Or is it just a matter of eating right?

Currently i eat whenever and whatever. I drink quite a lot of soda, but i eat lots of fish, rice, and vegetables. I also work out every other day, just the basic crunches, bicycle kicks (forgot the correct term), push ups, and curls. It's mainly just a mental thing, it makes me not feel gross.

You don't fucking lose fat from one part of your body any more prominently than another. That's a myth.
Do some HIIT or moderate/heavy cardio for a couple months, eat less and more often to lower your bf%.

No stay away from the weights, you could get hurt easily. Just do crunches like the other guys suggested which will start burning the fat off your stomach. Also try walking about a mile a day for maximum gains.

If you want to remove the fat over your stomach, all you have to do is train your abs HARD. do atleast 500 crunches a day, whichever kind you want. Try not to each much, you don't want your abs to get huge, you just want them to show.

Don't lift weights; your abs won't be able to handle the other lifts (primarily squats).

If you're abs aren't showing, something is wrong.

Maybe you're ab exercises aren't that great.
Also, yes you need to run moar AND eat right to get them to show.
Get a good workout routine. Just doing crunches all day won't get you bigger ab mussels. You need to eat right and change your routine every now and again.

You need to lose overall fat. No such thing as spot reduction. If you abs are trained right then you just need to lose fat. Cut out soda and RUN. RUN RUN RUN. Lifting weights wont hurt, you just need to burn more calories than you take in. Run and eat right.

Contrary to OP's beliefs, if he's 117 pounds at 5'11" and doesn't have abs while training them, he needs to EAT SOME FUCKING MEAT. And LOTS. Eat damnit. You probably have barely any fat on you, but don't eat enough therefore you have no muscle mass. Do some heavy lifting, and EAT CLEAN.
