Hey /fit/,
I'm thinking of doing this.
Monday: The Bear (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WOP9J7QPwI) (going for maximum weight)
Tuesday: 6x400m, 1:00 rest between each
Wednesday: Randy Couture Workout (http://buildingbodies.ca/exercise/randy-couture-workout-for-mma-conditioning/) (going for maximum weight, letting go of the bar or resting on the ground forbidden)
Thursday: 6x200m sprint/200m jog
Friday: 5x2:00 of Hang clean to snatch to hang clean to jerk @ bodyweight (going for maximum reps in minimum time), 1:00 rest between each set
Saturday: Jog 1 mile, sprint 400m, jog 400m, sprint 200m, jog 200m, sprint 100m, jog 100m
Sunday: Wrestling practice, playing lots of "the floor is lava" and parkour/gymnastics bullshit

What changes does /fit/ suggest?

Well, if you're trying to get really strong, then this sucks.
>> Anonymous
No, this is me going for muscular/power endurance, as well as cardiovascular endurance. Basically, I'm looking to burn fat, gain a little muscle, be able to lift fast over and over and over, and run all sorts of distances with speed and stamina.
>> CWheezy !!bJFrM5LONOF
You want muscular endurance?

....Why?

Rest in between? Why not just do a pyramid going 80% for all of them.

I'm a wrestler. Or would you suggest hitting the gym powerlifter style, eating everything and lifting everything in sight and getting "endurance" from the fact that anything I lift is so submaximal that it's barely a challenge? That would require cutting weight later, but I can live with that.

Yes AND YES. The weight room is for getting strong, the mat is for your conditioning, aka muscular endurance and stamina

Even the most intense matches and practices I've gone to have only fatigued me and gave me a slight burning in my arms. I seriously doubt them as actual endurance building workouts. It's mostly technique in there.

You're already conditioned then, focus on strength building workouts

Conditioned, yes. Lean, no - my workout was trying to go for muscular endurance and maybe a little more strength than I built up just playing sports and being active since I was a kid, but also emphasize my strengths and help me cut weight (I was going to go for a slow-digesting, calorie restricted diet, featuring plenty of complex carbs, meats, and dairy). Good or bad?

Sounds good, but don't cut the calories, when I wrestled in HS the first few years that's what I did, and was always feeling tired. Senior year was when Atkins became big, I did that and shredded the fat pretty easily.

If you want to do 'the bear', there are all kinds of websites for that kind of thing, you faggot. We don't need more of that here.

Also, wrestling is for homosexuals. Sort of fitting for you.
>> Anonymous
literally ZERO percent of your training is devoted to strength development of any sort, short of maintaining what you can do now...for longer...

absolutely no part will ACTUALLY MAKE YOU STRONGER

total 100% fail.

is this actually what you believe from your sherdog forums? you silly MMA faggots, judo and wrestlers adopted proper strength training decades ago to improve their game, why are you so far behind the game? infact, many top MMA guys possess tremendous strength from years of paying in sweat and blood in the gym.

Don't worry /fit/ doesn't know what they're talking about. All they say is "5X5 STRONGLIFTS, AND HIIT!!!!" I'd rather be lean.... than a gym rat who sucks down supplements like a whore.

cuz....HIIT=supplements?

Being skinny /= being in good shape.

I'm the second heaviest on my bball team (The biggiest being the dude I lift with), and I can outsprint every one of the skinny fuckers on my team.

Go do some bicep curls, it'll make you feel better.

You know what, CWeezy? I used to think you were cool, preaching about function over form and shit like that - Now I realise you're a gigantic faggot like all the fucking bodybuilders on this site.
