sup /fit/, recently I've decided to start lifting ontop of my cardio

and it's been like 3-4 years since I've seriously lifted since high school, and I'm trying to keep by the M/W/F routine of lifting but I find I'm sore as fuck even on 72 hours after lifting, is it just because this is the first time lifting in some time?

and is it ok to do this or should I be working out through the soreness? reason I ask is I remember reading some strength training book where it said 2nd days off arent advised because you will be extra sore that day you do work out

The soreness if due to doing too much, its like running in a 25mile run but you know you cant run more than a mile.

The soreness will go away so just do cardio & lift lighter weights until its only there slightly then go back and lift what you did when you got sore or lift -5lbs then work upwards.
