My parents spend like 80% of thier paychecks on food at the supermarket. It's ridiculous... they go there like every day and bring bags and bags of delicious food like no bake cookies, lucky charms, canned chili, hungry man frozen dinners and all sorts of other delicious shit. How am I supposed to lose weight in candyland? I'm having a really hard time staying away from this shit. THEY WONT STOP OFFERING ME IT NO MATTER HOW MANY THREATS I MAKE TO KILL THEM/BURN DOWN THE HOUSE IF THEY DON'T CUT IT OUT ETC.. I'm going to be fat forever. ><

Alright, I originally wanted to post some troll bullshit, but seriously:

Explain to your parents that you want to start eating better, and that you can't, and won't eat the shit they buy any more (do it more politely than that). If you're dependent on them for food, then ask them to give you some money every week so that you can buy your own groceries. If you're not, then you should be buying your own shit anyway.
If they offer you something that you don't think you should be eating, decline the offer graciously, and don't eat it. If you're asking your parents to feed you and allow you to live in their home, you can't tell them they shouldn't buy, and keep whatever they want, so getting rid of it altogether isn't an option.

A strong will is necessary to diet properly. You either have it, or you don't.

Do what I do to combat my mother's desire to buy junk food rather than healthy snacks that I've constantly said I'd prefer to eat.

Drink fluids(juice.. water..) till you don't feel like touching that shit.

Drinking more water and juice would be good for you anyway.

It could be a psychological condition on their part. If their overweight and they see you trying to lose weight they could be subconsciously doing that so you fail so they don't feel as bad about themselves.

These are pretty good.

I like the lasagna one. Most of the other ones are fucking disgusting. Too much fucking salt and fake dogshit food. Nevermind the lasagna one fucking sucks ass too.

And there's like 1500 calories in one of them. Which was pretty manly if they didn't also have like 1 full gram of salt. which makes them taste SALTY AS FUCK DISGUSTING. And of course the food tastes awful to begin with.

I KNOW IT'S HARD! out of everything that can make you fat, parents are the number 1 cause of obesity. i should know as i've lived with my folks for 2 years and went up to 260lb. only now after living away from them for close to 2 years have i been able to reverse myself down to 220lb and i'm still losing it.

keep resisting, insist that your folks stop making you eat this food and do a little working out in the morning.

my mom did that too. the unhealthy shit is the cheapest stuff at the grocery store. how many times do you see deals for buy one get one free on a package of cookies? all the time. same for microwave dinners, pop, chips, and other shit that's bad for you.

first you need to have self control. it sucks because you'll be hungry, go to the kitchen, and you'll see nothing but shit that's bad for you. buy some snacks on your own that you can keep in your room, like dried fruits. this way when you're hungry you can munch on something with fewer calories and you won't be tempted by the shit in the kitchen. dried fruits aren't fantastic for you, but they're certainly better than cheetos or cookies.

as for meals, you'll have to either have a talk with your parents or you'll need to buy healthy shit on your own. i'm sure they'll let you have space in the fridge.

it'll get better when you move out. it's easier to just not buy junk food at the grocery store than it is to not open shit that's already in the kitchen.

If they are going to continue to buy crap, either go with them and pick out healthier food for yourself, or write a list down of stuff you want.

If you seriously want them to start eating healthier, its probably going to be easier to start them out slow. Have your dad start snacking on lightly salted nuts, its healthier then half the stuff he probably eats. Eventually you can get him to move onto unsalted nuts, and so on.

im in the same boat OP. I do my best to eat well, and I can usually do 2-3 pretty good meals a day by scrounging a couple of the only healthy things we have in the house. but its REALLY FUCKING HARD when you go upstairs and theres a million delicious, delicious bad-for-you insta meals and shit. candy, icecream, pizza, tacos, hamburgers, sugar cereal, white bread, fucking all bursting from every single shelf. its real depressing.

In similar predicament as OP, but food choices aren't as... gross. Both fridges are stuffed full with weird goods, no room to really put anything extra.

1) If you can't buy your own food, pick and choose and restrain yourself. It's called willpower. Don't eat more than 2000 calories a day if you have to put up with the same food. Exercise and drink plenty of this substance called "water".
2) Move out and make your own food choices. Still requires willpower.

Moving out of my parents place when I started uni was the best thing that happened for in terms of my health. They never fed us unhealthy stuff, but the availability of it was what was keeping me slightly overweight, as I was snacking all the time. Once I took responsibility for buying my own food/ petrol and started walking places more because of it I lost the weight quickly.

For several months, this has been my meal every morning:

two-three cups of cereal (shit like Lucky Charms, Count Chocula, Waffle Crisp, Cookie Crisp, etc.)
two pancakes with syrup

lunch:
Whatever is near work (Long John Silvers, KFC, Burger King, Chik Fil A, etc.). Always eat fries.

dinner:
depends, sometimes fried chicken, sometimes Mac N Cheese, whatever.
Always have a bowl of ice cream, too.

I run everyday for 60 minutes. I have actually lost two lb in the passed six or so months.

But If you want to be healthy then you need real food. sit your parents down and talk with them about purchasing something green, leafy, my personal favorite is spinach. anyway u need something that doesnt contain grease talk to your parents they will listen if you pose it logically.

I had a problem with thís too, when I was a teenager. My mom always bought junk food for herself and my brother (neither were fat.. actually, no one in my family is fat because of our metabolisms, but it was still shit for us). Also, my dad was CRAZY about what I ate. When I was real little, like 10-13, I had to have 3 sugary snacks a day...doughnuts, cookies, cakes.. etc. He cooked X-BOX HUEG meals for me and constantly harassed me for being veg and for drinking skim.

When I was 16, I walked into the kitchen and trashed EVERYTHING. About 100€ worth of sugary fats and oils into the rubbish bin. My mom reformed, switching over to whole wheat and more vegetables. She still bought some snacks for herself and sugary snacks continued to make up the entirety of my brother's diet but I learned to control myself and to sort of black out all those things when I would walk into the kitchen. It was nice, and I was no longer all depressed and shit.

Holy shit, that was some major story time.
