/fit/,
is it possible to both lose fat and gain muscle? I'd like to get into a workout regiment because I'm kinda fat but I don't want any muscle pushing out the flab.

I want to go back to an old workout where I walk 3.5mph inclining .5% uphill per minute up to 15% and then decline .5% back down to even. I do this two miles then jog two miles.

I also have some Russian Kettlebells that really add nice muscle, but what I'm worried about is that the excessive cardio will be eating the calories I need to gain substantial muscle.

yea of course its possible to lose fat and gain muscle at the same time. The way I look at it is your body is like a machine and efficient machines ones who do alot of activity and use lots of fuel increasing their flow look the best. So the more you do the better, give yourself enough food so that you're satisfied through out the day, usually ending up about 5 or 6 meals throught out the day. Eat a healthy balance of complex carbs and protein and essential fats. Anything after that is golden. Perserverence is the key to everything
