sup /fit/.

I've recently read that the SS programs are only for around 6-8 months, and after that you should switch to a new one or something...
well, I'm around that point now, currently doing a SS program which constitutes of all compound exercises and only 4 exercises each workout - with low reps/sets. This is the Day A and Day B split, which goes like: Monday- day A, Tuesday- off, Wednesday- Day B, Thursday- off, Friday-Day A. the next week i go B-A-B.

Frankly, I'm seeing awesome gains and I feel amazing, but I'm wondering what I should do now? A lot of my friends that go to the gym are doing workouts practically everyday... like monday-friday, doing exercises that focus on certain muscles. I can't do a 5 day a week program, mainly because I'm in university and do kickboxing 2-3 times a week, so i can only do a program much like i've always been doing.

If I stick with SS, will I be losing out on awesome gains? Are there any better 3 day a week programs? thanks /fit/

you should be able to make good progress going 3 times a week, dorian yates only went 3-4 times a week and for most people its advisable not to lift weights more than that

If you're seeing gains, do not switch.

When you stop seeing gains, switch.

Arnold Schwarzenegger was known for taking weeks off training at a time...and told everyone he always trained 6 days a week... yet he still won Mr O 6 times. 3 times a week, plus your kickboxing is enough. From what you say it sounds like you will continue to make gains, so long as your food intake, rest periods and discipline are ok.
