This might be a sageworthy question, but is it nescessary to do endurance/cardio training inbetween workouts? or could I Just strength train for a couple months and then do my cardio to catch up?
Also, is HIIT a full substitute for running or other long cardio workouts? I prefer short and intense bursts like suicides over long and boring jogs/runs. Will I get the same results if I do HIIT properly?

This is what I plan to do>
Workout upper body for 4 months until my back is better [subluxation]
then do squats and deadlifts to get my legs in gear
then do HIIT during the summer [I have no place to run, it's getting to be below -5 celcius out here in ontario canada]
