Hey /fit/ not really sure if this goes here but...

I'm a 20 year old male and I'm only 5' 4 1/2 inches tall.

Anything I can do at all to grow taller at this age? Or help supplement height growth? Or am I pretty much fucked?

Regards,

Shortanon

Fucked.

I think your growth plates close at 21 could be earlier not sure you are going to get them checked.

If they are open yes you can grow.

Not exactly comforting, just means I'll likely stay this height.

Both my parents are around my height, so yeah I guess genetics pretty much fucked me.

-Take you pillow out from under your head, and put it under you knees.

-Get a lot of sleep.

Can only be possible with artificial growth hormone or do lots of Squats.

I get a good amount of sleep typically 8-10 hours.

What's the pillow thing about? Something to do with your spine? I have really good posture btw.

OF COURSE SQUATS WHY HADN'T I THOUGHT OF THIS :DDD

Straightens out your spine. You're taller in the morning when you wake up then when you go to sleep at night. Gravity compresses the cartilege in between your vertebrae.

I'm male 19 5'6.5". I wanted to be like 5'10", but oh well. You can always be stronger. So I just lift weights lol

you are probably stuck at that height. compensate with a super bad bod.

BS, my parents are a foot smaller than me

I have a nicely defined body but I'm not bulky. I'm kind of afraid of having too much mass at this height. I think it'd just look a little disproportionate and stupid.

My mother is around 4 inches shorter and my father is about half an inch shorter. So no, not BS.

I know what you mean anon. The problem for me is... is it possible to be fucking strong without being bulky or huge!?!

You are seriously beyond ignorant if you think height is independent of genetics.

mom is 4'11". dad is 5'6"
I'm fucking lucky to be 5'6.5". I did those stupid height calculators(lol) and I'm supposed to be 5'2"

OP should consider wearing lifts

Sure is, check out ed coan, the guys records are being beaten, sure. But the guys doing it are like 30-40% heavier than him.

sure he was big by normal standards, but compare him to most powerlifters and he's teeny tiny.

Strength and size do correlate, to a degree, but you can train to have alot more strength than you look like you could have. Or, train on a normal 5x5 program, and just eat maintanence calories so you'll just look more defined (because you'll still be gaining SOME muscle, or losing some fat, you wont gain fat or lose muscle)

just gotta remember to get 1g protein\lb of weight every day.

Stupid anon. Sqauts would help with hight because stimulation to large muscle structures increases Growth hormone.

Sleep does as well.

OP, there are some suppliments that help increase your own body's production of HGH, but you still need to be heavy liftign and getting plently of rest.

Right at bedtime take this
L-Arginine 5000mg
L-Ornithine 1000mg
L-Lysine 1000mg

Saw this in some forum

"More importantly, you shouldn't be concerned at this point in your life about your height, but about
your mental outlook on your height.

If you think your height is a flaw, it becomes a flaw. That is how the mind works.

If you try not to focus on your height too much, it stops becoming a flaw.

This is a great tool for things you can't change. Height is one of those things that is very hard to change.
So don't stress over it.

Now Body-Composition is a thing you can change, and the lower your bodyfat, the taller you will look by illusion.

Maybe lowering your bodyfat is the perfect way to get you to stop focusing on your height.

(IE Focusing on something you can better, versus something you can't)"

Interesting advice, and I don't find it such a big deal really, but if I could be a little taller it would be nice.

Btw the body fat thing.. I was around 6% body fat last time I checked. That's stupidly low enough as it is.
