Alright guys.

I think I need surgery on my wrist. It's been 2 months since I got a cortizone shot and got this NSAID Naprosyn (which i couldnt drink on uggh). 4 months total since i havent lifted. just rested it before i got the shot hoping it'd get better.

Doc appointment next week for a referral to an orthopedic doc. It's the tendon near my thumb. Cant do pushing motions. I use to be able to do 70 push ups, with the injury i can barely do 10. I cant do overhead lifts. etc... It needs to be fixed.

Is surgery likely to fix the problem? And how long does a surgery take to heal before I can start lifting again approximately. I'd like to gain back the atrophied muscle.

Ask your doctor. He or she spent about 10 years of his/her life and a fuckton of money just to have the credibility to answer that question.

I will when I see him later this week. Just want opinions of people who have had surgery before.

I'd assume so, but I can't tell off the top of my head. There's no generic basis for determining whether or not someone with an injury will get it fixed up right with a surgery.>>333942basically hit the spot.

As for the other question, for a tendon I'd assume no more than a month. It took me about 5 weeks before I could get back to all my proper workouts when I had surgery on my appendix, and even then I have to restrict ab workouts from time to time due to scar tissue.

Cool thanks.

Anyone else who had surgery?
