Hey /fit/

Recently I've been trying more and more to eat healthy and also to lose some weight.
I make salads (usually with some cuccumber, corn, lettuce, mushrooms, paprikas, squash and chicken(not all of those ingredients in the same bowl of salad however)) that I can keep for a couple of days and use inbetween breakfast and lunch, lunch and dinner and as my last meal before sleep. My breakfast is normally Kelogg's All Bran with some yoghurt. Just one medium sized bowl. washed down with milk or water.
My lunch vary, but it's often soup and two slices of bread. My dinner is usually a mix of pasta courses, noodles or rice with some chicken or a kind of meatloaf (that due to the way it is produced contains a maximum of 6% fat whereas meatloaf usually has 15% I believe..). As you can see I'm aiming for 5 meals a day. I've stopped drinking soda and candyeating since quite awhile back I will start building muscle strength eventually but for now I only do jogging and HIIT and my focus is on losing weight and getting my endurance back up.

p.s I'm a student and I don't do any manual labor so is my breakfast good/bad for me?

I dont think I've seen that one over here in Norway yet. I shall search it or see if I can atleast find something better than all bran regular. Atleast it's not a stupid breakfast setup then?

Is it better to cook it or eat it uncooked? I've heard about its benefits for weight lifters, but will it benefit me (whose aim for now is only losing fat)? Thanks for the tip!

Nice find. Didn't really think about that.

Cook it. It's good because it's complex carbs which will give you a stable blood sugar level helping you curb hunger. PLUS LOTS OF FIBER LOWER YOUR CHOLESTEROL ETC LOL

Concerning everything, that's why I wrote it rather detailed. Anything is appreciated.

Does your pasta have a lot of creamy sauces on it? You are eating very well nutritionally which is great, but if you are trying to lose weight you might be eating a lot more calories than you need. What do you do as exercise?

Thanks for the answer fellas. I suppose it's going to depend on how much of a hurry I'm in then.

No, I manage to avoid them. My workout for is cardio three times a week. Jogging and intervals (I used HIIT in my OP but after looking HIIT up on wikipedia I see now that it is a wrong use of the term and what I do is more like low intensity interval training). My goal is more and more interval training though.

As for the eating more calories than needed part I havent actually sat myself down to work out the math. But I usually just curb the hunger and try to avoid eating myself "full".

Then you sound good. I say focus on nutrition and cardio/endurance/exercise OVER weight loss. That way you keep perspective and become HEALTHY on your way to victory.

Do you have a small digital camera? Just take pictures of everything you eat then work it down at the end of the day. Makes it easier.

Thanks for everything, much appreciated. I do try not to think too much about losing weight in itself but the fact how good eating right and exercising properly makes me feel. I'm not overweight though, just got that loveable beer tummy and love handles that needs to go. I fucking love alcohol though. I'm gonna try to cut it down to once or twice a month and enjoy sobriety (and cannabis) when I feel like partying.

I won't.

here's a link to the article in norwegian, her name's Mia, 18 year's old and she lives in Halden, Norway. So if you ever come to norway you could "accidentally" bump into her.

lulz. Wikipedia says halden has a smaller population than my "hick" town. I still stand firm that I live in a shithole.
