Hey /fit/.

I don't come here at all. I'm a /b/tard, and well, it shows.

I'm overweight.

I'm close to 300 pounds. I've tried in the past to drop the weight, but I never could. I just give up.

Ideally, I'd like to drop down to 190ish. My diet is shit. My mother never cooks, forcing me to eat out and buy Subway, and other fast food of the like. I'm a sandwhich man, so I enjoy that.

But it's come to the point where I want to loose it all.

See though, the thing is, I'm very hard to fall to temptation, and I just give up and quit. And I face a fear that if I do loose the weight, I fear I'll gain it back.

I have asthma, so working out is hard for me. I try to walk, but not always do I follow through. My goal isn't to get ripped, it's to just be skinny. Doing some little things to aid in the process before I go to bed wouldn't be a bother I suppose.

OP here: I had to cut and paste my post in half because it was too long. Continuing:

Now, the important part, my food intake. What I should I eat? Right now, I'm aiming for soups and salads, something I can tollerate. I'm going to leave my debit card at home (I don't carry cash, I just use that) whenever I go out to work (I always make sure gas isn't a problem) when I go to school and work, so that the temptation can't be fulfilled. But what about that idea, soups and salads? I like tomato soup, a little creamy with milk. I take it that's not a good idea either? I can go back to mixing it up with water. As for salad, what dressing do you guys suggest? Will this diet eventually bore me? I'm Italian, so I like pasta's and such.

And what if I want to live a little, have a steak, cheeseburger or pasta for the hell of it? How do I work that off?

And lastly, how do you guys suggest getting over temptation/want for pop and juice and good yet bad shit? That's a big problem not only for me, but for a lot of people, and I can realize that. What about taking a pill or something to aid in the process? Are there any protips about that in here?

I just want to feel confident in myself and get a girlfriend. Please, no /b/ faggotry in here or else I just would've posted it in /b/. Pic related, it's what I look like (minus the male pregnancy part).

first off:

are you old enough to drive

do you have your own car?

if not will your mom take you to the store?

let her buy her shit, you buy your shit

dont worry about intake just now, worry about WHAT THE FUCK YOU EAT

if you dont have access to being able to pick out what you buy and make it yourself (grilling these things and using a can opener/boiling water is very easy if you are underage b& and have never done it before)

so yea answer that, if you cant do any of that then you need to rely more on exercise, but the process will go much much slower

and pro tip, it's gonna be slow anyway

No, I'm 20, and I commute to college. I drive my own car.

That's why I was going to leave my debit card at home, so that I would just not worry about going to a fast food joint and picking up something to eat.

no to what?

take the debit card with you to the fucking grocery store, buy enough food for a week.

make it yourself

then feel free to leave it at home for the rest of the week, this takes self control and discipline but honestly it's not that hard once you get used to it, and if you like seeing great results you will get used to it pretty fast

OK, point taken, but what should I buy to eat?

Eat more in the morning, less at night. Try to split up your portions into 6 small meals ideally, but anything > 3 is fine too.

Do cardio every day for at least 30 minutes. Don't try so hard at first; you're looking for the hardest you can work out and sustain over a long period of time. Since you're a fatty, running 5 mph should do, or riding your bike. Running is superior, but harder when you're starting out. Check how many calories you burn with http://www.healthstatus.com/calculators.html

I'm not too sure about a normal person's protien intake, since I have kidney problems, but I'd only eat one protien-rich meal per day unless you're doing heavy weight training, which I don't think you'll be able to do for a while. Do try to build some muscle, though; the more
muscular you are, the more calories your body consumes.

BUY ALOT OF FUCKING SKINLESS BONELESS CHICKEN BREAST, LEARN TO LOVE THAT SHIT. IVE HAD SO MUCH GOD DAMN CHICKEN THE PAST 6 MONTHS

seriously buy it, put seasoning on it, grill it.

Whole grain bread, Skim milk or 1% milk, only water, Eggs, Oats(not that instant brown sugar oatmeal shit),

Everything you eat must be LEAN, lean turkey for turkey burgers or whatever get the 99% fat free kind. Tuna, alot of tuna. Also salmon, alot of salmon.

A steak or two a week is fine, try to keep it lean or only make it one a week and get a filet or a ny strip if you must

just remember you can only have 1 bad meal a week this is called a cheat meal

Try to not eat so much bread, and whatever bread you do eat make sure it is whole grain or whole wheat. If you eat between classes and have to eat at a cafeteria or something make your food before you do so

This will take some time and require a little effort but the results will show so fast, esp @ your weight.

dont bitch and moan about the food taste, food doesnt owe you spectacular taste, you are fat as fuck and could die at any moment. you owe your body food it can actually use

fuck your taste in juices, WATERWATERWATERWATERWATER

but if you knock back like 2-5 dr peppers a day or something you could always try to cut it down to 1 a week, that said dont be like yess dr peppers. your ultimate goal in a few weeks to months should be ONLY FUCKING WATER AND LESS THAN 2% FAT MILK

Whole grains, healthy proteins, vegetables, yogurt/dairy, and fruit. Cook for yourself.

If that's too much, you can eat at Subway and still lose weight. You're heavy enough that just watching calorie cutting would do the trick. Make a list of food you enjoy, and that is healthy for you. Keep it around so you get ideas. Don't let yourself get hungry enough that you want to binge on junk food.

In all honesty, you don't sound ready yet. It took me years upon years to get to a place where I'm ready to lose weight and commit to it. And it's still hard as hell. You're using your fat as a comfort/protection zone, or else you wouldn't say, "I fear I'll gain it back." It's much easier to maintain than lose. Even if you don't stay "skinny," you could at least maintain a much better weight. Prepare yourself more. What might work best for you is making the right choices one small step at a time. I know for some people starting with breakfast one month (healthy), and then lunch the next month, and then snack the next month, and then dinner the next month, and then drinks the next month, helps them change eating habits one meal per month at a time. Good luck, but do some serious considering.
