Sup /fit/. I just have one question; Can I get big by just doing the big three: Dead lifts, squats, DB bench press and of course, just eating big? because I tend to lose focus and interest whenever I complicate my routine. I just wanna keep it simple.

I did deadlifts wrong and now my back hurts

Not OP, but are clean and presses worth doing? Or should I separate it into deadlifts and presses?

the deadlift is a deadlift.

clean and press has a slightly different setup (power clean), and full clean is basically a front squat to a push press.

stick to deadlifting and strict pressing, if you are a beginner.

you can
but it would probably be a good idea to add some rows for shoulder health

Throw in presses (overhead) and power cleans to work everything.

Doing the big three is fine, but you shouldn't do deadlifts and bench every damn workout.

With the others stuck in, you can work:

Squats + Bench Press + Deadlift = workout 1

Squats + Press + Power clean = workout 2

Then alternate those suckers as per Mark Rippetoe's: Starting Strength.

I approve of this thread, well done /fit/

Seconding the "Starting Strength" book

Do overhead press to balance out your benching muscles.

Bent over rows are good too

By press do you mean pressing a barbell from your chest to over your head like in the jerk part of the clean and jerk?
