Your body does not turn fat into sugar, fat enters the kreb cycle, and gets broke down, only it takes more to break, and there is heat, water and other stuff left over.
Burning off glycogen is the principle behind HIIT. Once you deplete your bodies preferred energy source, fat loss is gonna happen, provided you don't down more yummy carbs right after.
