Hi /fit/.

I don't have much open space in my house to install a full bar with the supports, so I thought on buying one of these.

Do these things really work? Are they difficulty to install? Just looking at it, you may think there's a lot of risk to fall when doing a full series...

Anyway, have any of you ever tried this sort of bar?

They're very good. I can't go as wide as I'd like I guess, but they are very stable even though they don't look it.

I've instaled one in my house too perhaps 3 years ago. They are pretty good, and if you have a lot of open space around it, there are a lot of possibilities.

Varies on which you go for. The one i looked at was 300lb max which is pretty good, i was expecting around 240lb max.

You twist the pole and it extends outwards making itself longer and wedging itself into the doorway.

They work well but be sure you don't be too soft on it when fitting it.

Installed one in my flat in uni halls. It was in the hallway on route to the kitchen so we all made a rule that you had to do some pull ups every time you went to the kitchen. Fucking did wonders.

Most, if not all of them, require you to install mounting brackets into the door. If you want one that doesn't have to be installed, go for something like this: http://www.pullupbar.com/

I made one myself out of 1/2" metal piping and it works very well. Holds my 225lbs ass up, at least.

I have one of the screw types. It will hold you fine if you aren't a whale.
You can only really do chinups on them though, too narrow for pulls.
