Boil.

Not meaning to scare you... but it looks remarkably similar to an anthrax infection.

I'd get up from the computer, hop in my car, and drive to the doctors office IMMEDIATELY (fuck appointments) and see whether or not I needed to be rushed to an ER.

The large red area is indicative that the infection has spread throughout the surrounding area. Whatever it is, you do need to be alarmed, and you need to take action now.

I wasn't going to ask anyone but I've just got home and it popped, leaking pus everywhere, so I just wondered if anyone had seen similar before. I will ask my medic friend later.

Nah, it doesn't. It looks more like a big spot/boil, infecting the surrounding area

If you had pus leakage thats a good thing. Probably its a boil... but the large red area is still pretty alarming. You need to seek out help very soon.

Could be a brown recluse bite. Get to a doctor pronto, and good luck.
>> Anonymous
HOOOLY SHIT. WTF IS IT? seriously go see someone about that
>> Anonymous
Is this some kind of troll? Seriously I can't imagine there are retards out there who would post on 4chan with something like this before going to a doctor.

Despite that it looks kinda like a bad spider bite to me.

I'm in the medical profession, and i've seen this kind of thing before, usually amongst males of the homosexual variety. i'm sorry son, but you have AIDS.

Well I have 35 1/3 years of intense medical experience, most of it in the Australian Outback. You've clearly been bitten by a Radscorpian or, go to the Hub or Junktown and get some Radaway.

there are no lines. and even if there were, i would rather wait in a line for a few minutes over having to starve for a week to pay for a trip to the doctors. pathetic.

shut up you idiots, he would have noticed a spider bite since the really poisonous ones are usally very painful.

this is most likely an abcess, just take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abscess and compare the picture there with your arm. the inflamed and infected area seems to be aalready pretty large in your case, so you should go an hospital as soon as possible.
they will cut it open to get the pus out of your arm and probably treat you with antibiotics for a while to end the infection that caused the abcess.

sounds quite simple, but don't, and i mean DON'T try to open the abcess yourself!! you see, the pus is currently limited to the inflamed (red) area, but if a non-professional fucks around here it will likely get into your blood and cause sepsis there, so you better don't even try it.

Most people can afford health care in America dipshit. It's not that hard to find a job with coverage or earn enough to get your own. A small part of the middle class is to rich for state and federal aid, but too poor for insurance, and that will hopefully change with the administration. The simple fact is people come from all over the world to seek medical care in America, and while our system still has many faults it is much better than almost every place else in the world. Unless you know anything other than what is reported in a few newspapers or exaggerated for the purpose of campaigning you should really just shut the fuck up.

Looks like a staph infection.

Pic related, it's one I had a month ago. I got another one a week ago (lol my life sucks ;_;), and while the infection point (the "bite") or whatever isn't quite as big as yours is it looked pretty similar.

Definitley see a doctor cause that looks far more serious, but in the mean time you should put a hot pack on it.
>> Anonymous
looks like staph to me as well. better go to the doctor before it spreads to your heart and you die.

So that's what that is. I have one of those motherfuckers on my left bicep.

really? americans are some of the least healthy people in the west. and before you claim it's due to diet, today the average britfag is healthier than the average american.

amerifag in europe here btw

foreigners come to the states to seek expensive, experimental treatments. even if like 40% of americans dont have access to health care, the states are still the leader in r&d

>>Most people can afford health care in America dipshit.

Nobody I know has health insurance, and we all have jobs. Some people I know are well over the poverty line and still can't afford insurance and still afford to pay the rest of their bills and eat.
>> Anonymous
>>152775
Unhealthy due to diet, stressful lifestyle, and lack of exercise. Stress is the key factor; it has profound impacts on overall health.

>>152776
I don't have health insurance, either. But you know why? I don't want or need it. Most people who aren't insured just don't need to be. ERs cover anything serious enough to not walk off (and have amazingly flexible repayment plans), and a few days' rest will take care of most illnesses. Not everybody has to take antibiotics for every fucking cold they get.
>> Anonymous
Uh, did you get bitten by a brown recluse? Kinda looks like it.
>> Anonymous
>>152545
This seems to check out.

However, as with all rashes, press a clear glass on to the reddened area. if it still appears red underneath the glass using a moderate pressure, then it's an indicator of blood poisoning, and you should see a doctor right away.
>> Anonymous
My instinct reaction was Brown Recluse. Go to urgent care.
>> Anonymous
I also believe it is a brown recluse bite. I had three bites that looked exactly like that on my inner thighs. Does it make your muscles hurt even when you are just bending your arm? if so im certain thats what it is. Mine went away on their own after they popped, it was extremely painful for a good while but nothing to serious happened. Keep an eye on it and if it seems to get bigger and eat away at more skin go to the Emergency room!!!!!!!!!!
>> Anonymous
It looks like the bite of a radioactive spider to me. By chance, have you attended any exhibits at science halls recently? Does it feel as though your body is charged with some sort of fantastic energy?

In any case, I would recommend not allowing any escaping robbers to pass by without lifting a finger to stop them.
>> Anonymous
holy shit where do you live to get bitten by some giant spider? australia? lol nigga wut
>> Anonymous
go to emergency dept, doctors there may have more experience in insect bites

Brown recluses are found exclusively in north america. They're less than an inch and can easily be confused with other spiders, like the common daddy longlegs.

I've been bitten by a recluse before, shitsux.

Are the joints in your arm feeling arthritic at all? General muscle and joint soreness are signs that the venom went into the bloodstream, which is better (lesser chance that it will turn healthy tissue necrotic).

Either way, get thee to a motherfucking doctor, shit looks serious.

Just so everyone knows, who suggested staph and MRSA, they are the same thing, but MRSA is antibiotic resistant.

You best pray for a simple staph infection.

I agree, looks like a recluse bite!

Brown recluse spiders are native to the Midwestern and Southeastern states. Documented populations of brown recluse spiders outside these areas are extremely rare.

* The most common non-brown recluse spiders are the desert recluse found in Texas, Arizona, and California, and the Arizona recluse. No deaths have ever been reported from non-brown recluse spiders. Bites from these cousins produce mild to moderate local skin disease.
