All right, I know you hear these all the time, but I'm slowly trying to lose the pounds. As it stands I need to. Before my freshman year of college I was out of shape but happy at 5'11" and 220 lbs, but know a year later I am 275 and it has to stop. This is mostly because of bad eating habits, ie. fast food being cheap.I;ve started the hundred pushup challenge in addition to beginning to change my eating habits.I used a website that uses a google maps tool to plot my walks accurately. The walk I took yesterday was about four and a quarter miles long and it felt good. I finished it in around 75 minutes, trying to keep a good pace the whole time (pumping arms, always keeping a good sweat, power-walking, if you will).I've plotted another walk for tomorrow, about the same length. But i want to ask, can I expect to see some weight loss from this? How many times a week should I take these walks? What else does /fit/ suggest for a bona fide fatass?
>>262158Well, my work schedule makes it hard to do mornings. Basically I've been getting up at 3:45am for work, I nap when I get off, eat dinner, wait for it to settle, and then exercise.
>>262166Done.
>>262167ouch. what you may want to do is eat a snack instead of dinner, then walk and then have dinner after working out.you're actually supposed to eat after working out. according to sparkpeople anyways.
>>262175Makes sense. I'm going to try this tomorrow and see how it works out for my energy level.i'm also trying to move to smaller meals with healthier snacks. My fridge is stocked with carrots, celery, and grapes and I plan on looking for other good options soon.
do light weights as well...it'll help your metabolism.
are you kidding me? you walk a quarter of a mile in 75 minutes? what are you, a fat slug?
