Hey /fit/, I have a questions about head lice.
I was on my laptop when out of the corner of m eye I saw a tiny little black bug on my chest. I'm a girl and have pretty long hair that goes just past m shoulders. I know shit all about bugs but I killed it and looked at it. Kind of like a tiny black beetle. I was going to take a picture but my camera would have done no good. My first thought was lice since it was on the end of my hair, but I haven't had ANY symptoms, no itching, no being sick, nothing. I had just brought my dog in from outside however, so it could probably just be a different small bug of sorts. I was wondering if it was even possible to have lice without symptoms?
I haven't been around any small kids recently, and the only places I've gone are my boyfriends and work..both plausible pick up spots of course..
What does /fit/ know about the head lice?

Did it look like the one in the picture? I used to get bugs caught in my hair when it was longer.

No, not really, but I also didn't have such a close up. It was very dark and I'd say the edges looked smoother. Just talking about this shit makes my head itch in paranoia. I've never had this before and don't really know anyone who could help me get rid of it if I did have lice, is there a way to treat it solo?

Have someone check your scalp for lice/eggs/etc.

Duh.

Fucking women.

Obviously that had crossed my mind, I just don't live close to any relatives right now and I wouldn't really trust my boyfriend. Not that he's unable to I would just rather have someone who knows what they're doing/dealt with it before. Do local health units do it?
I have never dealt with lice before myself D:

Well looking for them isn't exactly rocket science so you probably trust him to find some if they are there.
I have never heard of someone feeling ill when having lice, I've had them in the family multiple times without sickness or even itching.
But it just may have been a random bug.

are you european or american?

If eufag,(or is it eules for girls? nvm) your local chemist/pharmacist should be able to give you a checkup. wear a hat before you go in (one that covers all your hair) and ask for a nit/lice/flea checkup. they should do it, then give you the correct shampoo.
