Hey /fit/

I've been doing the same free weight routine for 3 or 4 months now and I've made amazing progress (squat 135 to 225 for example). Anyway, I feel like my routine might be getting a bit stale and I've heard that keeping the same one for too long is bad for growth. So should I change to a different routine?

sure, why not?

Because I like this one lol

No.

You're still starting out. You should stick to linear progression as long as it will last. That could take years.

This is when the gains are easy. Enjoy it and don't try to make things too complicated.

Ok cool. Because I rather like my routine of COMPOUND LIFTING.

you're not meant to do the same routine for more than 3 or 4 weeks.

This is the land of confusing and contradictory posts.

If this is true I was thinking of converting from my current full body workout to a split body one to hit as many muscles as possible.

What you do is change your exercises up, the sets/reps, the time you rest between sets and how fast you do each set.
You're in no need to go for a split body

You got it!

Change the tempo of the same routines if you want. Like one beat on the way up, no pause at the top, 3 seconds on the way down. Once you're used to that and have been doing it for a month or so change it to 2 beats up, 1 beat(pause) at the top, 1 beat down or something.
