i have a gut small gut, an online BMI site said my BMI was 25.5 (overweight by 0.5)
im a male 18 years old 178lbs 5'10"

i started running this morning, i woke up an hour early and ran 1.8 miles (2.9km)
i found out im definitely not in shape and i felt like throwing up after i ran...i didnt, it just sucked.

what are some tips/tricks that can possibly make this more bearable.

If you've never really run before, that's a pretty good distance.

You probably made the rookie mistake of running either faster or farther than your body is ready for.
Make sure you spend ten or fifteen minutes beforehand warming up; jog for a little bit, and do some dynamic stretching.
When you're ready to start running, be sure to go at a comfortable pace.

Since your mileage is rather low, you might want to try doing interval training; for example, running 1/2 mile, walking 1/4 mile, running a mile, walking a 1/4 mile, running another 1/2 mile, etc.

Within a week or two, you'll feel much better; your body needs to get acclimated to the stresses of running.
