Hey, /fit/Starting about two or three weeks ago, I have been incorporating running HIIT into my life, doing it about once every two days. Previously, I had been a steady-pace runner, but the side effects from steady running (increased appetite, mostly) had always stood in my way of one of my main goals, which was to shave off the love handles (I'm 6'2" and about 165 lbs., but I still have a little flab in the midsection and on my lower back from when I was heavier). My first few weeks of HIIT were tiring but rewarding, and coupled with a conscientious diet, I was starting to see some results. However, five or six days ago, midway through my HIIT routine, I either pulled or strained or overexerted something in my left leg, and was forced to stop from the pain. I sort of hobbled home and took it easy for two or three days, and, thinking my leg healed, hit the pavement again, only to wind up worse off -- afterwards, the pain was so bad that I could barely stand, let alone walk. I'm back to being able to walk now, but that muscle/ligament/who knows still pains me when standing, stretching, or putting weight on the leg, so I think that hard exercise is sort of out of the question. So, my question is, what can I do to remain active without running, and not risk turning into an obese couch whale? I don't have access to a gym currently, and all I have in terms of equipment are some resistance bands and (shush don't laugh) BIRRY'S BOOTCAMP, but the leg exercises on the latter can be quite painful with my leg. Also, I tried looking up what I probably injured, but to no avail; I doubt it's a hamstring injury, as there is no bruising or swelling, and the locus of the pain seems to be on the back-underside of the hip, about three or four inches behind the hip joint itself.tl;dr: I'm broken halp.
