Hey /fit/

I'm just looking for your opinion really. I'm trying to get a sleek, muscular athletic look, and I've been training for about a month now with few results.

I have my diet sorted out. Quit drinking, and always around 1800 calories a day of the right stuff, 5 - 6 smaller meals a day. But what should I be doing in terms of weights and cardio?

Also I'm a pretty established runner, believe it or not. 1.5 miles in 8.30 thanks to my military days, but I've just put on some fat after leaving. Should I try and lose bodyfat before gaining muscle?

Also I'm 6'2 / 180 pounds if this helps

How much weight did you lose in the past before getting to this point?

None. I've gained a stone and a half since leaving the army 4 months ago

WAHHHH MY RESULTS DIDN'T OCCUR OVER NIGHT HALP /fit/!

Getting a "sleek, muscular, athletic" look will not happen in a month. It could take you as long as 6 months, maybe even a year.

By "few" I mean "none"

S'why I'm asking for halp

>blah blah blah i don't do enough squats

the answer is squats, deadlifts, and presses

Ok, it just looked like stretch marks in the middle so i assumed you had dropped a lot of weight.

If you want to lose weight, your diet should mainly consist of protein. with a small amount of carbs and fat.

You were in the army, you know how they train you. Follow their training regime and keep the diet going, as said above it doesnt happen overnight, now that you've not got much, if any fat to lose its going to be more difficult. Lurk moar for guides on weights.

Tbh i think you look fine as it is, i'd kill for a body like that.

And I'm telling you that a month is not enough time-- of course you're not seeing any results; you haven't been at it long enough.

You first have to be willing to accept that this will not be an overnight trip, and you're going to be working yourself beyond your limits for, quite possibly, a very long time.

do you want the manly broad shoulders, thick neck, muscular arse "man" look.

Or the big arms, thick pecs "barbody" look?

hint: chicks lie about digging 2 when they want 1.

extra hint: can do both at once.

Thanks, I've always seen myself as pretty tubby

Yeah I've come to realise that and I'm ready to seriously commit

It's hard to explain, I know so little about form or anatmoy. The best way I can put it is I don't wanna be as small as Bradd Pitt in Fight Club but I also don't wanna be XBOX HUEG

I liek the broad shoulders, overhanging chest and thin waist look

Damn I sound like a 4 year old

Okay, then. Protip: If you don't want to vomit after your workout, and you don't feel like you got hit by a truck when you wake up the next day, it wasn't enough.

I love how people think getting big somehow happens by itself.
