I came here today because I need some serious advice on losing weights. I'm 5'11 and weigh about 200lbs. What is a good way for me to lose weight in a fast and efficient manner?

running doesn't really hurt my knees. I can run just fine, but I can't run for long due to the fat and my smoking habit. I can jog for about 15 minutes

I don't mind lifting weights at all. However, I read in the other thread that squats are bad for you. Is this true?
