do not eat anything
the water is to hydrate yourself before the run
you shouldn't eat anything because when you exrcise, your body goes to burn glycogen first for energy
when you wake up you don't really have any in your body from the previous day (having used it all up already)
if you eat, you're going to have glycogen to burn
if you don't have glycogen in yoru body, your body goes to burn fat stores
so if you run before eating breakfast, you'll start burning directly from your fat stores, more or less
so running in the early am is the best way to lower your body fat
i did it last year (15 min run at 630am before classes) for a semester, ate whatever the fuck I wanted to all semester, and stayed the same weight (that means i ate pizza and wendy's and other horrible stuff for my body and didn't get fatter)
