Sodium:

Supposedly it's bad for you, but I don't understand why. I'm assuming it doesn't count as a carb, protein, or fat.

I'm 6'0'', 155 lbs, 13-14% BF, what should my sodium intake goal be to feed the muscle, burn the fat for general health and fitness?

Please help, /fit/.

Pic somewhat related, it's of the Grand Teton in Wyoming. I need to be pretty damn fit before I try climbing it.

It's not bad for you unless you eat way too much of it. I wouldn't worry about it unless your diet is absolute shit.

More sodium = higher water retention = higher blood pressure = bad news

Just keep in mind you need sodium to live.

My diet's decent (maybe a bit too much starch, little bit of extra sugar in the form of fruit juice), I exercise regularly and lift 1-2 times a week. Last time I checked my blood pressure was 110/60. But still, it seems like something that's easy to overload on. Would lowering my intake help me substantially, or do I have little to gain by changing my habits?
