Reversing neatsightedness? Anonymous
I've heard stories of people with nearsightedness wearing glasses for their teens but around 21ish they don't need them any more. I'm only 18 and I hate wearing glasses and contacts is there any hope my eyes will correct themselves without having to cut pieces of them away with a laser?

called laser vision correction.

Just to know, laser surgery uses a laser to cut open the cornea and then burns down the pupil. It's totally painless since there's no pain receptors in there too.

Well yeah but I mean the lens inside the eye adapting itself to overly the large eye.

sorry to say, but odds are your vision will get worse.

But is it all remotely possible? If I load up on vitamin A and K or stare off into the distance?

There are exercises you can do with your eyes that will improve (and possibly completely fix) your vision. Google "eye exercises to improve vision". You'll get loads of websites, most of which you will probably have to pay for.

if you just got them, and if the situation is minor, you my reverse the nearsightedness.

I'm fucked. I've got those fucking floaters, and when I'm not focused on doing something, they bother me, and it's really pissing me off. Doctors say - you'll get used to it. I have them for about twelve years now (beggininng of primary school) and I cannot get used to this fucking shit. Every year there is more of those motherfuckers. Sometimes I want to stick something into my eye and take them out.
And thanks to this shit, I can't have any LASIK or other laser therapy.
And I hate glasses. I feel like a nerd in them. I use them only when it's necessary. But my eyesight is rather bad, I've got -2,5 D in both eyes, so I'm fucked.

Go get a check-up if you have a sudden increase in floaters. It's a sign of some really fucked up shit.

Floaters are actually very common. I have them too. Most people honestly don't notice them. I didn't really notice them until I discussed them when I saw my eye doctor, and now I only notice them mostly when I'm bored.

Are you sure you can't have Lasik if you have floaters?

I've read that you can't, because there is a risk and something and something. Right now I'm saving some money, and I'll go and check if it's true. Otherwise I'm getting ortokeratology (you know, those vision correcting contacts you wear at night, and then you see normally in the day).

I didn't have a sudden increase. I have them more and more every year. Right now, it's a big family of this shit. In both eyes.

I never said my eyesight is bad. I'm just so worried about how I look, that I don't wear glasses in public. So I'm practically blind.

If you are worried about floaters, get PRK eye surgery instead of lasik. PRK > Lasik if you can afford it.

get contacts. I have small eyes and strong eyelids so it's a fucking hassle to wear contacts.
