I'm looking for a good abdominal circuit training program. any suggestions? (I don't know how a circuit program is structured)
>> Anonymous
It's called sit-ups, v-ups, chinnies, crunches, planches and repeat.

sit-ups do NOT (i repeat DO NOT) train your abs....

Or at least only so little its a waste of time
>> Anonymous

I'm sorry, I'll just pretend that these abs I've gotten in the past couple months from mostly sit-ups alone (although, they were on an inclined plane at the boxing gym) weren't from sit-ups at all. This is from not having any visible abs at all...

nope you didnt. you did crunches. enjoy your imaginary sit ups.

Go fucking read about it you dumbskull.

Sit-ups are a REALLY FUCKING INEFFECTIVE way of training your abs. (some even say they are hazardous).

Next time, study something before attempting/speaking of it

Welcome to /fit/, dipshit. Sit ups suck compared to almost anything else for the core.

Yeah, because reading about something is more informational than first-hand experience.

Care to explain why crunches are superior to sit-ups? I don't think you can.
>> Anonymous
Crunches are terrible for posture, they are an isolation movement with minimal neuroendocrine response, and they're an exercise for n00bs that do not know how to train properly.

Real credible source. That's like saying CURLZ are better for your biceps than chin-ups are.

>>196926
LAL WOOPS, I guess I have been doing crunches all along... I admit fail.

Boxers are idiots when it comes to knowing how to train correctly for their sport. HURR LONG DISTANCE RUNS MAEK U BETAR AT BOXINGZ AMIRITE

Everyone who likes crunches are just showing how ignorant they are when it comes to serious training.

sad but true, the old farts that train young boxers have their knowledge from the 50s.

This thread is full of fail and wrong information. Especially the part about crunches being good.

so what should someone do to get abs if not sit ups?

leg raises, you could try roman chair situps but watch out cause they can give you bad back pain and tight psoas if you do them wrong. which you probably will.

LEG RAISES
then burn fat

LOL NO ONE RUNS LONG DISTANCES AT MY GYM. We jump rope like pimps.

And, running long distances is fine if you sprint and run hard for intervals during it. Doi.

I do no 'direct' bodybuilder ab work, all I do is the main lifts, squats, deadlifts, bench press, push presses, pull-ups, and dips, and I have a killer 8-pack. Of course you have to watch what you eat and burn fat off through some kind of cardio training.

RANDOM QUESTION

Can bodyweight squats still be effective? (even if minimal)
>> Anonymous
OP here

.....................................so leg raises? anything else? and how do you organize a circuit? I looked it up on wikipedia but it didn't help. let's say I have three exercises (A, B, and C). do I do A, then B immediately after, and then C right after that, rest, and repeat?
>> Anonymous
>>196990
no, everyone can do hundreds of bodyweight squats, without any sort of muscular effort.
>> Anonymous
>>196990

Have you tried doing tabata air squats yet? Those are killer.
>> Anonymous
>>197017
I'll definitely start doing them, thanks (:

FFS just go to

Theres like 9000 routines, and they workout your whole body.
BTW they make you sweat like a bitch.

This man is retawded.

Bodyweight squats are good and effective. They're like pushups for your legs, except you can do tons of reps. I don't doubt that if you train them for a while, you could probably do more in a single set than most people who train squats with weights and shit.

But what you really want to aim for is the one-legged squat. That shit is killer. One-legged, one-armed push ups are pretty devastating as well.

get a skateboard, a fun way to do bodyweight squatz, just remember to switch legs

/fit/ in general is too stupid and retarded to learn about things like leverage, positions which increase difficulty, and proper body weight exercises. It's impossible to explain it to them.
