Hi /fit/
Posted here before, and looking for a little input on what I'm doing.

Jan1st 2008, I made a resolution to workout and become healthier. I watch what I eat during the week, and go a little silly on the weekends, but not to extremes. I write down my calorie intake to keep track of fluctuations I might have. It's a learning process after all..

I do crunches, reverse crunches, squats, calf raises, and some girly freeweights with my 5lb weights, (as I am a chick).

My main workout for quite a while during the cooler months, was Dance Dance revolution. It was working for me, but I want to be outside in the warmer months. Previous worries regarding questionable neighbors, including one CRAZY lady next door kept me inside.
Delicious vitamin D, I must have it.

Walked monday and yesterday, biked today. I'm really only able to go ¼th a mile with both, and my legs feel wiped out. I know DDR was never a preferred method, but us fatties have to build up our confidence and stamina somehow. To put that in better perspective, I've had a 10 year lazy spell. I had no strength to me at all.

So fit.. Am I finally starting to do it right? It's too soon to see results for myself, but if the tired muscles is any indication, I'm optimistic.

You know you sound more retarded than me admitting to DDR, rite?

And anyway, since when are crunches bad?

No, you sound like a disgusting shut-in, and he was just raging at this.

What do you mean "bad"?

You can practically do crunches everyday.

ITT we ignore the parts that indicate that changed. Lern 2 read moar.

Thats what I'm asking. Ask buddy boy 154709 why they'd be bad since he raged against them.

Kinda obnoxious how a board meant to share fitness stuff always turns into some snark fest by people who think people should be in shape before getting in shape.

Well, by the sounds of it, you're trying - and that's the important part. During the colder months, DDR is fine -- if you enjoy it. If you don't actually enjoy the game, go for a treadmill.

Just whatever you do, keep on moving. The more you move, the more fat you burn, and the more in shape you'll be.

I've never really had a problem with being overweight as I've always enjoyed running, but I assure you that once you work yourself to the point of being able to run at least one mile a day everything will be easy for you - but don't run until you're only slightly above average weight, as you'll damage your knees.
