ITT: Nutrition Anonymous
I am ignorant. Please provide MUST READ links on nutrition for someone like me.

Some more specific questions:
1) If I wanted to LIVE AS LONG AS POSSIBLE (not build mussles like fiddy) what kind of nutrition do I need?
2) What foods should I avoid at all costs?
3) Like many of you, I have elderly relatives that I help to take care of. What should I pay attention to in their diet to help them stay alive longer?
4) I know a stick thin skinny guy who wants to gain weight. From a HEALTH standpoint what should I advise him to eat?

tl;dr TELL ME WHAT TO EAT FOR HEALTH

OK. So so far I know I should either
1) Eat dicks to live as long as possible.
2) Avoid eating dicks at all costs.
3) Feed elderly relatives dicks/keep elderly relatives from eating dicks.
4) Advise my stick thin skinny friend to eat dicks for weight gain.

Anything else?

Follow a low calorie diet (like 1200-1500 Calories/day.)

>1200-1500 Calories/day

I heard somewhere that this is optimal for an extended life span.

Reason being your body eventually craves food and releases hormones making you more aware of your surroundings. (Because your body naturally realizes that you are not getting enough calories but you're not starving.) Therefore, you are losing fat and still keeping your current amount of muscle.

Something like that.

A balanced diet, with few to no processed foods, incl bread and other shitty excuses for grain.
Stay away from hydrogenated (trans-)fats. Keep your blood sugar consistent by not eating sugar foods.
Get enough omega-3 fatty acids (the modern diet has too much omega-6).

And exercise.

Everything you need is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calorie_restriction

Although I wouldn't recommend it.

I'd rather eat normally and have a god life than add 5 years to my life feeling hungry and like shit all the time.
