Sup /fit/, how hard is the Bruce Lee body to get? I used to read stories about what'd he do and feats of his strength and had always wanted to be that strong and look that cut, but I sorta fear that its too late as Im 18 and not in the best of shape. I'm 5'11 and 161 lbs. I recently got a free pass to the local 24 Hour Fitness for 45 days and Im ready to kick start a work out regiment that will build up strength and hopefully get a ripped looking body.

So is the crazy ripped body with some strength too much too hope for or is it possible with time, a good diet, and dedication to a work out plan?

5 years if you train every day. you wont, enjoy your 45 days of fail.

he is not very muscular and has very low body fat.
2 years if train regularly and watch your food.

Of course it's not too late to start - the guy in the pic started working out when he was 18!

Bruce Lee was ripped, sure, but he wasn't all that big - he did primarily strength training, which is obviously good if you want to get strong but not the fastest way to get muscular.

Start eating properly, and find yourself a good 4- or 5-day bodybuilding split. You're quite light, and your first priority should be adding muscle mass. There's no point cutting fat until you have some decent muscle underneath.

lol, theres a reason why there is no one that even comes close to him now days...

He is not about the rippness or the workout, he is pure willpower, good luck

300 workout x 9000 power level = bruce lee

lol, look up some of the feats of strength he could do.

Joe Lewis
"Bruce was incredibly strong for his size. He could take a 75lb barbell and from a standing position with the barbell held flush against his chest, he could slowly stick his arms out, lock them and hold the barbell there for 20 seconds, that's pretty damn tough for a guy who at the time only weighed 138lbs. I know 200lb weight lifters who can't do that."
" I never stood in front of another human who was as quick as him. He not only had the quickness but he had the inner confidence to muster the conviction to do so. I've seen others who had the speed but lack conviction or vice versa. He was like Ali, he had both. I stood before both of these men, so I know."
"If Bruce Lee wasn´t the greatest martial artist of all time, then certainly he is the number one candidate." (Source)

oh, obviously he was exceptionally strong and powerful but a lot of that was his CNS - he didn't have much in the way of muscle mass, so if all you wanted was to *look* similar it wouldn't take too long.

Very achievable. He's very, very lean but not comparatively muscular. One of the classic tricks in Hollywood to make a guy look super muscular is to lean him out as much as possible.

So the body would be a lot easier to get than the strength right?

That's a matter of opinion; I think proper nutrition is MUCH harder then any kind of training.

Most beginning bodybuilding that goes anywhere tends to be pure strength training anyway so they sort of go together. And let's face it. Someone like Bruce probably cared a lot more about strength then what he looked like.

bruce wasnt very big at all, he had a very low body fat percentage and therefore looked very muscualr.

most ectomorphs who train naturally look like him, but really all his look comes down to is diet. *note: im talking about his LOOK, yes he could kick someones ass with the same build.

Lee trained for total body fitness. He did his best to excel in every area: strength, power, speed, flexibility and endurance.

lee was a machine, he trained every part of his body, you may be able to get his silhouette, but his power and speed are impossible to match, his bone density was superhuman, his skin was like stone, he used to thrust his hands into buckets of GRAVEL. as in the stuff you use to pave roads. He was the absolute best of the best, and no one has ever come even close. Maybe one person can punch as fast, or kick, or maybe they can meet his figure maybe they can put dents in a board of wood like he did, but never all those things, he was the best, he was the absolute best.

Lee priest, along with most other asian demi-god people, was more myths and rumours created by others about him. He was an incredible man, who left an amazing legacy and he made good movies.

He had a psuedo muscular, very very ripped physique.

End of story, everyone makes up so much bullshit saying "I SAW BRUCE LEE LIFT A CAR OVERHEAD THEN PUNCH IT SO FAST THE FUEL TANK EXPLODED" because they want fucking attention, he was human. His skin was just like the rest of us, his bone density may have been far above average because he had alot of strength for a small frame, which would imply alot of maximal effort work which is directly correlated to bone mineral density.

Current world record holder for bone mineral density is a fellow who can squat over 420kg, not bruce lee.

Great man, greater legacy, but the greatest PR ever.

Rofl, super typo, was talking to a friend about lee priest, I meant bruce lee.

For the records, I mean no disrespect, I think he lived a better life than I could ever aspire to in many ways, I just think people have decided that if he drank wine, it meant he had a cup of water to start with.

If you're eighteen, you have plenty of time. Bruce Lee didn't start his uber-training until he was about that age, after he saw how tired he was when he beat the shit out of some guys who wanted to close his dojo. Then he went health nuts.

anyone skinny guy can look like bruce lee with 1 month of exercise

I'm less interested on the body and more interested on the explosive power that he supposedly had, anybody know how to train for strength like that? You'd figure a similar figure would come along eventually if you trained for strength and power right?
