Hey fit, I've got a question for you.
Is it possible to gain fat from eating almost nothing but protein? If you "overeat" food, but all the food you eat is protein, would all the protein you don't need go just right through your body or would it be stored on your body as fat?

find me some protein that doesn't have fat.

Hey guys! So I'm a mod on a message board for one of my favorite bands. We need more people to come and post. I know a lot of you won't like the music, but I also know that a lot of you will. It is for a band called Retard-O-Bot. They are so cool! And they're so nice in person! If you guys(and girls lol!) could sign up and start posting, that would be great! We really need a more active community.
Just check it out! <3

Ok, food with high amound of protein. I said "almost nothing but protein".

Im assuming yeah, it would be stored as fat, as that's how your body stores energy, like sugars, carbs, etc.

Yes, your body can convert carbs, protein, and fat from any of the three into any of the other. If your diet is short on fat but overloaded with protein it will just turn some of the protein into fat.

Does that make Atkins perfectly safe and healthy, then?

OP, the diet you are describing is an extreme ketogenic diet. Yes, you would lose weight from it rapidly, but it would be shitty for your health. The Christian Bale Machinist diet (1 can of tuna, 1 apple) a day would probably be healthier than that. At least that 'diet' has fiber.

Enjoy your kidney/liver failure.

In someway yes, but if you suddenly start eating carbs and such you will have a massive weight gain from what I've heard.

No its not... Keto diet requires 60-75% of caloric intake to come from dietary fat. Too much protein CAN kick you out of ketosis due to the small insulin effect of protein. You eat a lot of it though, the greater the insulin spike. Keto diet is generally 30-35% protein and <5% carbs.

What the OP is eating is a very BAD diet. Your kidneys and liver will hate you. ):

this is the whole point of atkins. apparently carbs are the hardest of the three for your body to create

The "massive" weight gain you are talking about is water weight. Carbs hold water. Muscle glycogen holds water. Without either, you don't hold in the water, thus the rapid weight loss many people experience with low carb diets, and also the "massive" weight regain once carbs are reintroduced. Its not fat. Its water. Unless of course the person is an idiot and eats like a fucking pig.

too much protein is bad for your liver apparently

(talking like 500 grams a day)
