am i doing it wrong? Anonymous
I started working out about a month ago, and it really helped with me losing some fat in my stomach. I'm 5'8" and 144 pounds, and since the second week I try as much as I can to do cardio work (jog or HIIT) for at least 6 times a week. It's an improvement over my sedentary lifestyle, and while I lost some fat and built up my leg muscles as well as my cardiovascular endurance, I still have some fat left in my stomach. No, I don't believe in spot reduction, but I would like some exercise that would help me build up my abs and target that region primarily. Am I just shooting at air, or doing it wrong? What can I do to build up my abs?

I don't want to do weights - I just want to build up my abs, not to show off to women. I just want to prove to myself that I can pull it off. What other exercises must I do? Or am I just doing it wrong? My body fat percentage is 14%. BMI is 21.

HALP!

Do some weighted crunches and bicycle crunches. But you won't be able to see your abs anyway unless your bf% is below 8 percent.
And I don't believe that you're down to 14%...

Your body fat percentage is far fucking higher then 14% you fat piece of shit.

How do you do weighted crunches? Or bicycle crunches for that matter? I do crunches everyday, but I don't know what they are.

The body fat % was just calculated with weight and waist measurement. My waist is 30, and I'm weighing 144. I know I look fat, but most people don't tell me this. Of course, I have to let my BF lesser.

I wonder if that's sour graping or just being an asshole. It's 14%. It may be somewhat greater, but yeah, last time I checked about 2 days ago it was 14%.

basically if you are a man, the area around the stomach is the first to gain and the last to lose fat. in women it's hip and thighs.
>> keep trying 4th generation
One anon had it right. For men the abs is one of the hardest parts of the body to work.
A weighted crunch means to take a dense and heavy object and place it on your chest while laying on the floor. Cross your hands over the weight to hold it in place and then begin your crunches. Adds resistence.
Also try lying flat down, hands at your side. Palms down for resistance. Now lift your leggs at a 45 to 65 degree angle...and hold. Hurts but works. Reaserch different teqnieqs and try them out and youl find one that works for you.

Actually at 10% you will start to see some semblance of a six pack, under that you will have the full thing, with the magic number being a 9.something, but obviously if your abdomen isn't developed you're probably just going to look like a regular skinny guy.

If you want abs, diet, if you want to look athletic, start lifting.

Yeah. I still think I eat quite a lot, even though I think I'm already dieting. I'll try to hover between 1500 and 1800 Cal a day, although I think I'm doing that right now.

I don't mind people not seeing. That's the point, I want to keep this achievement to myself. It's not like I want to get girls or anything.

Thanks for the recommendations, keep them coming!

I've heard of Ab Ripper X. Does that work? I have it, and I will try to start tomorrow. :)

if you're 5'8", there's no fucking way that you're only 144lbs in that picture.
