I am not able to get to parallel without my heels coming off of the ground due to poor flexibility in my ankles and hips. Is a leg press machine sufficient until I get enough flexibility?

No, just buy trainers with high heels.

Well, a leg press is basically a squat, just a shittier version of it, and worse on your knees.

I would get into the squat position with no weight (you may want to hold onto something in front of you) and move around in there.

Also, try keeping your back more upright, and lean back farther. It's actually harder to squat like that with no weight, but with wieght it keeps you balanced.

NOT OP-question about squats.

Is it okay if I do it on the thing for benching, where the bar slides and you can hock it, cause sometimes I dont ahve a spotter, and my back heards, so I like the extra protection.

put barbell plates under your heels
