I'm just starting a creatine cycle. Any ideal times to take it besides after a workout? Also, any gains/sideaffects I should be expecting in the next couple weeks?

when starting it is recommended to load creatine, so 2 servings or more a day. I did one after my lift and one before bed.

take 5g post workout.

there is no point in timing your creatine intake, it doesn't work like whey does, do it whenever

i take mine in the morning, depending on how much you take, you might feel a little bloated at first, shit makes you retain water like a fucking camel
