LOSING WEIGHT Anonymous
I'm a guy 5'7" and losing weight. This is bad, because I was borderline underweight before. I was 135 lbs. I am now 118. Combination of stopping to work out due to injury, and the medication Welbutrin.

I'm thinking of stopping the welbutrin because It did nothing for anxiety and is making me lose weight. I need something to fix my anxiety. And no, working out did not do it. I lifted and ran for two years. did nothing for anxiety or depression AT ALL.

My doctor wont call me back. it sucks. And getting skinnier and skinnier is killing my self esteem. Wont be able to work out until i get a surgery too, so ill keep getting thinner. probably till december.

I eat three meals a day, and drink a weight gainer shake, and am inactive yet I still lose weight. 2500 calories a day. What the fuck?

Should I stop the Welbutrin and steal vicodin or something? I have a RX for Ativan, but only 20 left out of 30. And I have to take 4 at a time to kill the edge of anxiety. 8 to remove it.

Help ;(

Go get a girlfriend you whiny faggot.

I'm also going to assume your father didn't pay much attention to you or wasn't around. Stop being a little bitch and do something.

Seriously, get a girlfriend. A girl saying she loves you is God's anxiety med.

And stop being a faggot, man up and grow a pair.

>I have evidence

No, you don't.

It's crap. First, it's only a summary. Until I see methods and analysis, I could give a flying fuck. Second, 2/3's of the document is devoted to circle-jerking themselves. Third, all they recommend is further research. Fourth, it's running head is "Assessing the Science Base", yet I don't see any references to other work.

And oh yea, GTFO hippie. Weed isn't the solution to everyones' problems.

Anyone with advice about the drugs im taking and what I should do?

I think it's the welbutrin making me lose weight. On top of not working out until my arm heals.

My doctor never calls me. So i cant talk to him. Ive left him 4 messages. He's part time and old. Should I switch docs or something?

Yes. You've got needs and he's not meeting them. And if your needs are unreasonable, it's time the poor guy got a break from you anyway.

Okay /fit/ i've never switched doctors.

Do I need to pick someone who specializes in "family medicine" or what? Im on the scripps site but i dunno lol. Looking at them all.

Or do i just pick anyone with a MD.

try beta blockers (propanolol). no cognitive symptoms, addictive potential, or tolerance unlike benzos.

I got that already. It stopped me shaking during speeches and etc...

But it did nothing for mental anxiety.

Well, benzos or snris aren't going to do anything for your anxiety either, in the long term. You will build tolerance to one, be switched over to another, slowly build up tolerance to that one, and furthermore require ever increasing doses.
Beta blockers, cognitive behavioral therapy (psychologists), and especially fish oil (with high amounts of EPA&DHA; several studies have shown it to be very effective in treating anxiety) are all avenues you should explore.

I don't know what kind of anxiety you have, but...

I have social anxiety and I obsessively worry about blushing or appearing nervous when talking to people. I get that adrenaline kick way too easily and get shaky, sweaty, blush like crazy which fed into the anxiety about it.

I'm taking a beta blocker, Inderal, which basically prevents the adrenaline rush. No shaking, no sweating, no blushing, and I can keep my voice in control. With the physical effects removed, all that is left is working on the mental hangups of thinking about it, and it's been getting better and better. I'm doing CBT which is a HUGE help, meaning I am doing presentations, lectures, and leading discussions for large groups of people. Scary at first, but I actually like it now. :-)

I know anxiety manifests itself in different ways for different people. If you have what I have, that's what worked for me.

Don't use drugs you don't have a prescription for, believe me it is never ever worth it.

This prolly means you have a basal metabolism rate I would drown little children to get.

Be happy, just increase your calories intake. Don't worry, your body will get the message soon enough.
