possible reasons for gaining weight Anonymous
hey /fit/

I just checked the scale and it looks like I've gained 4 pounds from last week. Why is this? Could it have been the first scale weigh in was wrong? ( I had somebody else look at it because I can't see the numbers that well and the same person did it this time ).

Could it be that I've gained muscle? I've been doing light exercises with 2 10 pounds fixed weight dumbbells for a week and a half now.

Or could I have reached the dreaded plateau.

Help /fit/, I'm going fucking insane. I've been losing weight at such a nice pace since February ( started at 264 and now I'm 222, am 5'8). I don't want this to happen. I don't feel different or look different, though.

Hopefully I don't develop an eating disorder from this shit. Pic unrelated.

It happens. Weight is very temperamental and can go up and down seemingly randomly. What I would do, if I were you, is stop weighing yourself weekly and start weighing yourself every day at the same time. Then keep a rolling average of your weight over time.

I do this and I've found that even though my weight can go up by about 5 lbs in one day, overall I'm losing weight. There is a thing online called 'The Hacker's Diet'. I've never tried it but I believe they have an Excel spreadsheet you can download so you can track the numbers.

He already answered your question. Your weight fluctuates normally because of changing water levels, how much feces is in your intestines, what shoes you are wearing, etc.
