Fitness Questions Anonymous
Hey /fit/ just a couple of dietary and fitness questions.

I currently weigh in at a little under 140lbs and I am about 5’8 in height and my goal weight is 175lbs; at the moment I would like to bulk up to a minimum of 150lbs.

Now I eat about 3 square meals a day. Every morning after I wake up I do 20 pushups to wake myself up. Then I go to the gym to start my day and after some stretching and warm up exercises I do free weights, chin ups, squats and the like for a little less than two hours, and go at it for a few minutes with the jump rope, punching bag, or the basketball court once I can’t lift anything anymore; just to rev myself down before I leave. I have actually a pretty muscular friend who goes with me sometimes and pushes me really hard and encourages me to use more free weights then machines. But when he isn’t around I lack the necessary spotter to do heavier weights so I usually play it a little safer.

Anyways before my work out I always drink a thick protein shake and at the end of the evening another protein shake (as well as liquid multi-vitamins to deplete anything I sweat out) and a small meal if I’m hungry. I try to take in as many calories and protein meals as I can throughout the day and attempt eight hours sleep every night just because I find it makes my muscles less sore in the morning. I just have a few questions

-Due to my body weight what kind of meals are acceptable in putting on the right kind of weight? Can I eat a fattening cheese or chicken burger when I feel like it for the calories, carbs, and fat or is that something that both fat people and I should avoid after work out. I mean I’m skinny should I eat lots of fattening foods, right?

-How important are supplements in my meals. I ask because I used to do them but they can get pretty costly to keep up with if you want to do them right. What are the bare minimum I should be using?

-My metabolism is disgustingly quick. What are some good healthy foods to eat for breakfast lunch and afternoon, or as a general snack that can help me put on the necessary weight needed to gain more muscle? If possible nothing too elaborate or expensive to make, because I make basically nothing in regards to money at my entry level position in my company and I have no cooking knowledge what so ever to benefit making anything complicated (I eat quick make anything).

-I already have a good idea what kind of exercises I should do at my current strength capacity; but is there anything you all could recommend for me just to try out?

Thanks for any of your help.

Oh ya picture is of me, just taken a few seconds ago.

I have many of the same questions and have asked them before as well. /fit/ isn't the place for dietary advice, better to read as much as you can in fitness mags and on "real" forums elsewhere.

Never read fitness magazines. Just lurk teenbodybuilding.com or forum.bodybuilding.com

I'm on that forum quite a lot, it's very helpful
