i was trained using plates, i'll try db for variety, but as it seems harder i intend to keep using plates. 25 lbs at least most days, 75 on one peak day recently.
it's one of my most sensitive exercises. my sets are frequently interrupted by back pain. but it recovers in a few seconds hanging, or with a gentle twist. my back feels stronger for a whole 1-2 days later every time.
and i'm smallish guy, at 5'6", everyone in the gym copies me after i do it. makes me feel uber.
