So here's what I've been doing. Not trying to bulk. I'm not really TRYING to do anything, which would explain why I'm not really doing an intense workout. Whatchu think, /fit/? Aside from saying "no such thing as a light workout," what do you think?

Monday, Wednesday, Friday are workout days. Run 15 minutes (get about 2.35 miles in) on the treadmill. Squats 5 sets of 5 reps, ramping up the weight for each set. 3 sets of weighted pullups (underhand, overhand, behind the head rotating mon/wed/fri). 3 sets of weighted dips. Dumbell overhead press + skull crushers one day, two types of dumbell curls the other day. Situp workout at the end (100 situps, 75 bicycles each side, 50 crossover situps each side, 25 oblique situps each side, 15 cross over situps with legs straight, feet in the air (pic)).

I'm bouncing between 145 and 140lbs. aged 19, male, 5 foot 8ish, ex-wrestler/waterpolo/track runner.

Also, feel free to post your "weakling" workouts.

sounds like a good workout for someone with no specific goals other than fitness.

i dont mean that to sound like an insult either.

i just confused when i see people spending money, time and energy to try to be something they're not.

"ooh! T-nation has an article onw a 6 month training program that is sure to add 1 inch to my vertical jump! I don't play basketball, but let me do it anyway for the unnecesary sense of self satisfaction and a pat on the back!"

i do the same type of workout dude. i just aim to be in shape and hover at 160 at 5'7. i could lose another 10 pounds or so but honestly, i dont feel like eating nothing but salad and grilled chicken.

my routine is this.....i bike for half an hour every morning while watching the news.

monday = pushups, pull up, chin up, reverse pushup, crunches, sit ups, twists

wednesday = BW squats, lunges, king deadlifts, hyper extensions, light good morning (with a band), leg raises

Friday = planks, core exercises and balancing workouts on the bosu ball.

>the unnecesary sense of self satisfaction

LOL

Because improving yourself and achieving something is TOTALLY overrated, right? Hey, if you don't want to improve and you're happy with that, whatever floats your boat dude. But some of us LIKE accomplishing our goals.

Alright alright, ignoring what HE said, anything to say about OP who goes without goals?

the problem i find with most people who do it though is that they simply want a reason to brag. It's just arrogant and stupid. There are some people out there who just like pushing themselves to new levels and i respect that.

But i no longer workout at my college gym because of too many weekend warriors walking around in their under armour shirts with their heart rate monitors trying to mimic the football team workouts. And all they do it for is for the bragging right.

fuck that shit dude.

i often read this
do you guys realize the solution to 'assholes' in the gym is to simply become BIGGER and STRONGER?
-the problems literally disappear, every1 becomes supplicant ants, and you never have to worry about people stealing your shit. No need to have attitude or be mean.
everyone was a small man on a totem pole at one time. if you progress through mediocrity and even 'ok' progress, you'll be close to the top of the pyramid. also note that big guys never even notice this shit. i never see this pedantry shit you guys always bitch about and i trained in a hugely over crowded gym (2 power racks for the entire campus, 30K plus kids)

nothing is ‘squat rack biceps curler repellant’ like Blue Heat, bands, and 4 plates per side….

increasing jump is a good indicator of anaerobic power.
you need indicators to tell if you are getting better in an objective sense. however, if you are just 'trying to keep the doctor away,' then whatever.

i stopped reading once i realized you're a fucking meathead who thinks being big = superiority.

seriously, good luck thinking that because you can increase your over headp ress that some how you're above it all.

most people with this mentality live mediocre lives. i cant tell you how many fucking meatnecks i used to hang out with when i was powerlifting who would walk around and talk down to people who didnt work out like they did. they would go on and on about "mediocrity" and all the shit you were flapping your gums about.

but the people who they were making fun of were successfull doctors, lawyers, professionals but OH NOES! they dont deadlift 500 pounds! they clearly dont know how to work hard or dedicate themselves to anything!?!?!
>> hurrr durrr, i guez i'm a meatheadz Anonymous

my powerlifting team during uni
-headed by 1 phD
-1 phd student
-3 masters students
-3 med students
-5 undergrads (all in engineering except for me, i was pre-med)

completely calm, relaxed guys, a great time. you cant understand, because you are so godamn involved in it, but there is an "END GAME" where you STOP 'fronting' and constantly 'put up a manly show' in the gym, because the QUALITY OF YOUR ACTIONS do the talking for you.

think about that. actually bench over 315 and you will no longer HAVE TO PRETEND you do when you strut about.

you totally contradict yourself

-->how could high achievement lead to mediocrity? <--

what are doctors and lawyers? they are 'end game' in what they do....so they...are mediocre?

so let me get this straight, your argument is this. you know a hurr durr strong guy, and you want to make youself feel better, so you use him as an example to mock and say all strong people are hurr durr and are mediocre. and thankfully, this is the internet, so what ever you type has to be 'right'
