/fit/, I have a question regarding leg weights.
Thought I believe their usage is reserved only during exercise, how damaging can it be to use them on a 24 hour basis, as in doing both the usual stuff and exercise with them altogether? Their weight - 5 lbs. Not much IMO.
I want to know how damaging they can be, and if the knees are affected dramatically by this. I'm also considering in increasing the weight when the additional weight is no longer noticeable.
The purpose of wearing this? An increase in speed and air time. Any suggestions are welcome.

Pic not very related related.

It's bad. Your body wasn't meant to support extra weight on your feet. You'll fuck up your knees by hyperextending your legs every time you take a step.

For what you're trying to do, carry around a 20lb weight in a backpack wherever you go.

Buy a weighted vest.

Zero, but only if you're a DBZ character.

Seriously, it wont have any effect. If you want to be able to jump super high or run fast, do SQUATZ and start running. Golden Rule of Strength Training: If you can do more than 5 reps, you're not making maximum gains. What you're talking about will no more increase your leg strength than constantly benching 10 pounds will increase your chest strength. Plus the knee problems you'll get, but SQUATZ will strengthen your knees.

Gotcha. So squatting will get me better results that way?
I'll do a Google search for training tips regarding squatting, but if you can provide me with any (links or whatever), it'd be great.

Meh, and I thought wearing weights would actually help at all. Also,>>263330was kinda not crossing my mind, but now that you mention it, yeah, my idea sounds kinda far fetched.

Good all around program, if you're serious about it.

That's a great site, and has most of the info a newbie could want. If you need anything more specific let me know.
