Whoever posted this, you are awesome for it. I think it's worth reposting.

I'd never heard of capoeira before, and after looking into it a bit it looks like exactly something I'd like to do.

Watching capoeira dancers is awesome.

I dunno about the people who try to use it as a martial art, though.

fine for entertainment and fitness, I guess.

Fail for white people and martial arts.

(I'm worried that this is twice I've agreed with Hammer on something)

Although using it alone as a martial art might be iffy, I think it would be good for combining with other martial arts.

I wish there was a school or something around here, this book is nice but it's just exercises.

I don't know why but I'd like to do this and aikido, and I'm sure people would make all kinds of remarks on the (in)effectiveness of that, lol

That's the reason why it is called capoeira conditioning.

I have never done capoeira, but i believe it could be a good way to learn break dancing. :)

Aikido is great if you don't want a martial art for fighting, but i can say that it help me for my Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thay training.

Just do yourself a favour and find a good aikikai teacher, don't accept any bullshido.

It's pretty lame for martial arts, unless you're fighting a tremendous moron. As for a hobby, it's awesome. I think more than anything, you need a sense of rhythm and to be limber. Having monster quads helps a fuckton, because you'll be squatting in horse stance for the better part of your beginning training, and you land in that position almost always after kicks and stuff.
