Hey /fit/

I lost a lot of weight, but I now have what I suspect is loose skin. It's not as bad as it is in the pic, but it still looks gross. You wouldn't know it's loose skin unless I suck in my belly and look down. I also have a little bit on my upper arms.

Is there anything I can do, other than surgery, that would make it look better or go away? (Exercises, etc.) I don't want to start working out and get my hopes up if nothing can fix it.

I SUGGEST YOU THINK MORE ABOUT THE MECHANICS OF HOW GAINING MUSCLE OR FAT AFTER THE SURGERY WOULD CREATE LOOSE SKIN.

I was originally going to say:

>the loose skin comes back if you lose weight in that area.

but I just looked it up and realized that this was hearsay. Apparently the weight goes somewhere else if you gain after an abdominoplasty.

THE BIG ISSUE IS THAT IF YOU GAIN WEIGHT IT COMES BACK IN LIKE POCKETS OF FAT OR SOMETHING RANDOM LIKE THAT, ITS NOT LOSE SKIN.

:( Surgery, but think long and hard about it first. And if you do go the surgery route, be sure to fork out the dough for a good plastic surgeon. I have a friend who had it done after she lost her pregnancy fat, and she has had really bad trouble getting her "seams" to heal, and the scars are pretty bad.

That's one of the things I'm afraid of, too.
Surgery just looks so terrifying.

In the past months, I have read through stuff like this:

But it seems to good to be true.
