If you're in the US, your PBS channel may have some yoga shows in the morning. If you have Lifetime, Denise Austin comes on a 7am (EST) and does yoga and other workouts you can do in a relatively small space.
There also may be yoga VHS tapes or DVDs at your local dollar store or the "value DVD" bin at Wal-Mart.
There's also YouTube.com, yoga.About.com, and a plethora of resources stemming from Google searches.
Also, many local libraries will have books and larger ones may very well also have instructional videos.
As for what you'll need, I'd say enough space to lay down with a little clearance so that you don't hit yourself when trying to go into a "downward-facing dog" position.
You may also want to get a yoga mat. I managed to get by just fine without one, but I always had a good grip with my body.
