a couple of months ago i started doing strength training 3 days a week. it's nice, i like it. but since then i've gained 4 pounds which makes me sad because i was told this would make my metabolism go up and i'd lose weight. is this supposed to happen or do i just fail eating/working out/life in general?

of course you're gaining weight, do you think muscle is weightless? weight is a myth, the only important figure is body fat percentage.

your metabolism probably has gone up, it's not an overnight thing though, just stick to it. work out more if you can. and of course, all the excercise you do is meaningless (in terms of looks) if you're not eating right.
