Blueberries are pretty amazing

i remember reading somewhere that you could eat as many as you wanted without worrying about ruining your diet. is this true? they may have all kinds of great benefits but they're still full of sugar, carbs, and calories.

was i mislead?

As many as you want? No.

130g of blueberries are about 2 quid. 1kg of whole grain rice is about 1 quid. 1kg of turkey is about 3 quid. 1kg of bananas is about 80p. Do the math.

Quid is the British equivalent of our slang "Buck" and the USD trades at about half the GBP right now, so two quid is roughly four dollars.

Where is your proof? Oh, wait...this is /fit/, you guys only repeat the wrong statements you read in Low Carb Weekly or whatever.

Simple:

I take two cups of blueberries.

I put them in a juicer.

Two cups of blueberries come out juiced.

It's the same fucking shit, it's just a physical change in consistency. God damn.

is that all your juice is? just blended up berries? i think the guy you quoted assumed your juice provider changed something in the juice

and if its cheaper, its definitely not going to be the same quality than regular berries. theres no reason a company would lose money to provide a cheaper product for you.

probably less berries + a bunch of cheap stuff to water it down with alot of sugar added to make it taste good
>> Anonymous
>>333394
Probably cheaper because it's easier to transport. The main drawback of purees and juices is that you lose fibre.
>> Anonymous
just look at the ingredients of store bought berryjuice, if theres something else besides just berries in it, it's not the same as berries

simple
>> Anonymous
I know for a fact that kroger brand blubeberry juice has more apple juice in it than blueberry juice.

>> Anonymous !ErY2TknG0w
>>333380Where is your proof?
Some things just require sound reasoning.
When you juice fruits, you remove the fibre, lose or sometimes destroy alot of the vitamins and raise the glycemic load of it because liquids are more easily absorbed.
If you're truly only changing the consistency then I assume you scoop out the waste bin and eat most of that too.
>> Anonymous
>>333435

>>333242
and you're John
>> Anonymous
>>333533

Jesus, you're such an idiot. Provide proof. Prove to me that blending a whole fruit into a juice removes fiber. The exact same chemical compounds are in the juice. IT IS JUST A PHYSICAL CHANGE, THERE IS NO CHEMICAL ALTERATION, THEREFORE IT HAS IDENTICAL NUTRITION.

And you're a moron by saying that it will absorb faster because it's a juice. The fuck do you think happens when you properly chew food? It turns into a god damned liquid before it even hits your stomach. Learn how saliva works.

>>333416

A lot, actually. Try reading labels. If it says the ingredients are only "100% orange juice", guess what the fuck it is? There are plenty of companies who sell 100% juice with nothing added. The only downside is it's fairly expensive because it takes like 20+ oranges to make one half gallon of that stuff.

And, for the record, there isn't even that much fiber in fruits. One serving of most fruits provides like 1 gram of fiber. Why would I bother getting fiber from fruits when I can get 51% of my daily fiber from a 160 calorie bowl of Fiber One, another 35% from a Fiber One bar, and the rest from whole grains like brown rice?

You people make the biggest bitchfest out of harmless things. Bad enough you're all brainwashed into throwing around buzz words like "refined" and "processed", when you don't even know what the fuck that actually means, bad enough you think carbs are toxic, but now you think fucking FRUIT JUICE is causing obesity and cancer or some shit.

Fucking rage.
>> Anonymous
>>333533

Also, have you never fucking touched a proper juicer? You don't lose the pulp and skin in a "waste bin", all of that is blended into the juice. The waste bin of a good juicer might have some tiny little particles that didn't get fully blended, but you shouldn't be losing more than .5% of your fruits in the waste bin.

Fuck.
>> Anonymous
>>333425
I'm pretty sure they have to do that in the US too. Shit like Sunny D can't have "juice" on the label.

Slightly relevant: Mott's sells "diet juice," which is 50% water, and they sell it for the same price as the 100% juice.

>>333610

>Slightly relevant: Mott's sells "diet juice," which is 50% water, and they sell it for the same price as the 100% juice.

FFFFFFFFFFFF

This is so annoying. It's like those "diet" frozen meals like Lean Cuisine. Made by Stouffer's, but costs more than regular Stouffer's, and all they do is use less oils and fat free cheese in them.

Diet food industry = pay more for less calories

THERE DOESN'T HAVE TO BE A CHEMICAL ALTERATION, SOME OF THE FRUIT IS LOST IN THE JUICER.

Juicers remove insoluble fibre. That's how it turns to juice, halfwit.

Liquids are digested faster. Your system has less to do to break them down so they are absorbed faster. You are fucking simple.

>enough you think carbs are toxic, but now you think fucking FRUIT JUICE is causing obesity and cancer or some shit.
boofucking hoo, no one said that shit. It must hurt to be that willfully stupid.

>>333649

>Juicers remove insoluble fibre. That's how it turns to juice, halfwit.

WOW, NO IT FUCKING DOESN'T YOU IQ OF 50 FUCKING REJECT. INSOLUBLE FIBER DOES NOT HAVE TO BE A FUCKING SOLID, YOU MOTHER FUCKING REJECT. HOLY JESUS LORD IN HEAVEN YOU SHOULD HAVE ABORTED.

IT BECOMES JUICE BECAUSE THE STRUCTURE OF THE FUCKING SKIN IS CHANGED. THIS DOES NOT CHANGE THE NUTRITION ONE FUCKING BIT YOU IGNORAMUS. THERE IS STILL FIBER IN THE RESULTING JUICE. NOTE THE PULP IN FRESHLY MADE JUICE, THAT'S THE FUCKING SKIN WHICH CONTAINS MOST OF THE FIBER. DIPFUCK.

YES, SOME OF THE FRUIT IS LOST IN THE JUICER. READ WHAT I SAID. IT'S USUALLY LESS THAN ONE FUCKING PERCENT. THIS IS ONLY BECAUSE SOME SMALL PARTS WILL END UP NOT BEING BLENDED ENOUGH TO FIT THROUGH THE JUICE FILTER. HOLY GOD, THINK BEFORE YOU OPEN YOUR OBESE MOUTH, DIPFUCK.

SOLID FOOD WILL ABSORB MUCH FASTER IF YOU PROPERLY CHEW IT. ARE YOU SUCH AN EDUCATED SHIT THAT YOU THINK SOLID FOOD IS ACTUALLY SOLID IN YOUR STOMACH? ONLY IF YOU SWALLOW IT WHOLE, WHICH YOUR FAT FUCKASS OBVIOUSLY DOES. CHEW YOUR FOOD TIME 25 TIMES AND SWALLOW, SALIVA BREAKS SOLID FOOD DOWN INTO LIQUID BEFORE HITTING YOUR STOMACH THIS WAY.

ARE YOU THOROUGHLY MINDSPANKED YET OR SHOULD I CONTINUE TO FUCKING HUMILIATE YOU? GET AN EDUCATION, 8TH GRADE ISN'T WORKING OUT FOR YOU.

Pulp is the flesh of the fruit, some of which does get through yes. But prove to me that it's less than 1% of the fibre.

Liquids are digested faster than chewed solid foods. Saliva doesn't (lol) turn food into (lol) into liquid before it hits your stomach, chewing pulps your food and the enzymes start to break down the carbs. Food is liquid once it's going through your duodenum

This whole time I'm really talking about juices, while you're talking about smoothies but this shit is fun!
