So I decided I wanted to start running the other day, and spent a while on a treadmill, mostly walking quickly for half an hour, then running for a couple minutes, working my way up. I decided that I wanted to run outside, as I'm not a fan of treadmills, so I went outside.
God running sucks, its going to be so hard to stick with it, but Im really going to try. My lower back hurts though, I think it could have something to do with my posture while running, so any tips would greatly be appreciated for a beginner runner looking to slim down.

running is about the worst exercise you can do, especially for fat people. enjoy ur knee injuries they're permanent and crippling.

start slow, if your just beginning, and haven't been running before, don't do wind sprints on the first day, It'll just make you hate it all the more. Also a little muscle soreness is to be expected, as these are muscles you haven't been using, but I'm not so sure about your lower back hurting. I am assuming of course that you have a proper pair or running shoes, are hydrated, and aren't running in some weird ass posture.

not the jackass from above, but you can try cycling, or basically anything that gets your heart rate up for about an hour.

yeah low impact stuff is important especially for fat people.
that extra weigh really crushes the shit out of your lower body plus fatties tend to be a lot less coordinated.
rollerblading is a good alternative for running too.

you can do some kind of weight lifting to strengthen your back muscles, they will tolerate more pain, to the point it won't be pain. may only take a few times effort.

for preventing back injury you need strength-endurance in your lower back. so get planking.

stretching before and after might also help. the muscles in the lower back are small, usually undertrained and generally overused as they keep you upright in conjunction with your abdominals. so stretch them in order to get the blood flowing into them so they repair good and proper.
