Muscle Milk Anonymous
Is it really worth it? I've been hitting the gym straight now for 4 months. three times a week I do 350 calories of cardio, then half an hour of wieghts. I've lost 20 pounds and can see some muscle growth. After every work out, I replace a meal with a muscle milk. Is it just a good meal supplement, or does it work to boost endurance and muscle growth?

I like it. I use the mix instead of the prepackaged shakes.

You will get lot more for your money if you buy the powdered protein and mix it yourself, plus the premade drink-mix's have preservatives in it.

Yeah, what I like about it is that it has relatively high fat and relatively low carbs. So, enjoy.

Personally, I also think the stuff tastes great. Like, as in it actually tastes good. It's not just something that tastes good for what it is, but rather tastes good in and of itself. Cookies and cream flavour. Even mixed with water the stuff is the shit.

Wow, 20 lbs in four months?

What did your work out consist of? What did you do for cardio and weight lifting, along with your diet?

Please share.

No just get a normal 100% Whey protein and have a shake after workouts.

eat eggs (Whites), steaks, cottage cheese before sleep and lots of fish. most of them are slow digesting.

Muscle milk is blend of whey protein (fast digesting) and casein (slow desting) so it's not a meal replacement but a protein SUPPLEMENT.

I limited myself to 1500 calories, only ate high protein meats with low fat (chicken breast, fish, turkey), alot of fruits and veges, and if I ate nuts I always ate whole grains. Im down to 190 and hope to go down further (I am 6').

Exercize wise I've been using my campus's gym, using the eliptical for 350-400 calories (depending on how I feel), then I go to the machines. Mondays I work my upper body (arms, back, and chest) with 1 middle section and one leg exercize. Wednesdays I do the middle (abs, back, obliques, and inner thighs) with 1 chest and 1 leg work out, and Fridays I do legs (calfs, thighs) with 1 middle and 1 arm. Other than that I do minor curls with 10 pound wieghts when I am at the comp, I always use the stairs and try to walk to and from the gym.

My 34 inch jeans started to get really tight, so I bought 2 pairs of 36s. When those started to get tight, I ran my ass back to the gym. Now my 34s are loose. :)

1500 calories?

Is that even healthy? Like, did you feel hungry at times?

wow...

At night I do, but when I wake up I don't. I eat small meals throughout the day, I've only gone over a few times, whenever I went out to dinner with friends.

I love muscle milk, although I've only had it once. I also need the extra calories.

I'm jobless atm and my parents would think I'm crazy for drinking any sort of protein mix anyways. So, I'm stuck without it until I force myself to get a job

But like this guy said, its cheaper to mix your own.

I actually used the PowerBar "Recovery Drink" for about a month (during which I lost 25 lbs) after my workouts.

Just recently I had a muscle milk. Tastes VERY similar. I would just drink it post-workout (within 30 minutes) so I wouldn't crash. Worked well.
