Hey /fit/,

I've been on a diet for nearly 4 months now, been going to the gym for about 3 months too, I cycle and run, and also do resistance training. I am 177cm I was 120kg and am now 84kg, but my weight loss is slowing and I think I'm at a plateau.

Any tips to get past it?

its what happens when you lose weight. you have some loose skin that needs to tighten up.

OP: good work dude. Try putting your body into "shock". little things can break you out of a plateau. it can be something like shortening the break between sets/reps of a workout or switching to interval training like cycling at 80 RPM's for 1 minute, cycling for 120 RPM's the next minute and repeating this for 30 minutes. try switching up your diet to. are you eating the same things with the same calories for each meal every day? Consistency is good butsometimes it can causey ou to stall. try mixing up your diet. try to switch the amount of calories you are eating for each meal so as to shake up your metabolism.

You need to eat more. Eat more protein and hit the gym harder.

That's too low bro.
>> Anonymous
you think OP could tighten up his skin by building muscle or is surgery the only option?
>> Anonymous
>>465051
yeah i usually eat the same amount of calories at the same time each day, but yeah thanks i'll mix it up a bit

little rest (one week). eat a bit. then hit is fucking hard again. I have gotten them as well, we all do.

I have so much loose skin, don't want to get surgery though

>>465056
about 25-30% of my daily intake is protein

well it depends on how big he was. if you are losing 70+ pounds, chances are you will have lose skin no matter how much you weight train and no mater how young you are. obviously it will tighten up some, but there will always be a lil flab around the waist. i lost 100 lbs andi have loose skin under the arms and around the waist. it wasn't as bad as it used to be but the only way i can fill it up with muscle is if i trained to get 20 inch arms. I like to workout but i don't have any desire to dedicate my life just to fill up some loose skin. and surgey is an option (because i lost over 100 lbs) but i have no desire to do that either simply because the loose skin doesn't bother me. i know ill never have a 6 pack but fuck it..im in good shape and thats all that matters

465059 here

I asked that cause I´m in a similar situation even tough my weight drop wasn´t so drastic (from 95kg to 75kg) I don´t really have loose skin the same way as OP but since I dropped the weight the areas where I have stretchmarks have become saggy (they look normal but feel really jiggly) so I was wondering if I could tighten up my skin by excersicing

I´ll upload a pic later

Do more training.

Yeah my stomach and hips are very jiggly but i'm hoping that my skin will eventually tone up, and i will probably buy some Body Firming Cream too
>> Negro Sparkle Faggot
Dude really, eat more lift more. Instead of going to for weight loss put some muscle on first. LIFT HARD. Do your compounds. If you get a couple more pounds of MUSSLE on you weight loss gets EZ. IF your plateauing right now switch your focus on weights.

aaaargh

if your plateauing then you just need to switch it up a little bit

OP you look awful. But you probably looked even worse before, so congratulations, I guess.
>> Anonymous
The way I see it is that you're infinitely healthier than you were before, so who cares about a little loose skin? You're an inspiration to people like us.

Wear a sauna suit.

GJ on the weight loss.

loose skin isn't permanent. You're body will catch up and tighten it up eventually. Building muscle will help that process too.

Plateaus can be broken by breaking up your routine. Doing an entirely different exercise routine (swimming, etc.) You need to shock your body with something new. You can also alter the length or intensity of what you're already doing. Just change something to force your body to readapt.

GJ brah, keep going.

How old are you OP?

if you do have a caloric deficit (burning more than taking in) make sure that what you are eating is quality food, not garbage and junk.

and lift a lot harder so that your body starts to develop a resting anabolic state, get some muscle on you boy, god damn you're flabby as fuck
>> Anonymous
caloric deficit should be a couple hundred cals under MAINTENANCE

not in the fucking negatives. Jesus christ people.
>> Anonymous
you might be overestimating how much you burn at the gym. if your caloric deficit was in the negatives, you would have no calories left for brain function, or your heart and lungs for that matter.

congrats OP, you're dead. ITT Ghosts poast on /fit/

How the hell do you get so much loose ( Oh my god, proper usage of the word loose) skin, I went from 128 kilo's to 77 myself, and im pretty tight, only noticable when i bend over really
>> Anonymous
jesus christ

i started in april at 120kg, and i'm now at 91kg. i've got absolutely nowhere near the loose skin that you've got :/

there's a lot to be said with slower, progressive weightloss than crash diets and obsessive exercise. i mean i go to the gym 6 days a week, 90 minutes per day still, but you have to try and let your body accustom to your new shape mang.

exactly. lose 2 pounds a week and loose skin will be ienvitable. but still, it does depend on alot of things...if you gained 50 pounds over 6 months then taht skin will be so torn up and loose that even if you lose it over 18 months, it will still be loose no matter what.
