Is there any such thing as being a "small build" or "big build"?

I was 234lbs, now I'm heading to fitsville I realise I'll have to lose a lot more weight than I first thought.

My initial plan was get to 196lbs, considering myself a "large build", 6 foot 2 and broad shoulders. I'm currently 214lbs, and know I think I'll have to keep losing weight till I get to 175lbs to be in great shape, which kinda sucks.

Yeah, there is. Build is a catchall for bone structure, ratio of slow to fast twitch muscle fibers, and number of muscle fibers.

Probably, but in reference to BMI, the distinction between small, medium, and large builds was introduced by an insurance company who thought that the range of healthy weights for each height and gender was too big. So they introduced a third category, "build," without doing any research on whether it actually corresponded with anything, to further narrow the acceptable weight range. Trufax.

There are three categories:
Ectomorph (skinny/tall)
Mesomorph (Broad/muscular)
Endomorph (pear shape)
Google for more info.
