Help anon!!

I'm having these symptoms..

- Shortness of breath
- Major chest pains, mainly left side
- The pain also seems to radiate around the chest, neck, arms area
- When I swallow it hurts a bit

When I take deep breaths it hurts a lot too, I can't really take large breaths, so I have to keep taking small ones often, and I run out of breath quickly while talking.. I also cough if I bend forward, I feel like my chest is being sucked in or pushed up or something; for example when I bend to pick someone up.. If I lay down on my bed to TRY to rest, I feel MAJOR super pain, it feels like liquid is rushing up or something cold.. I have to sit or stand up straight, I can't bend my torso at all really.. THIS REALLY SUCKS can someone help me out here!?

I'm 18 here no insurance.. This started happening suddenly, today.. In the morning I felt something weird as I breathed, but as the day went on it got progressively worse... I'm not fat, I weigh 138lbs 5ft 8.5in...

If you need any more info feel free to ask!

Did you fall or get tackled or anything? Might be a broken rib poking your lungs.

nope no injury at all whatsoever..

Well thats some symptoms of a punctured lung, or just one getting stabbed by said broken rib.

Your symptoms sound EXACTLY the same as someone who is having a heart attack or some1 with cadiac ischaemia.

You've just experienced a spontaneous pneumo thorax. Basically, your lung has collapsed, to what extent is unknown as even the smallest of tears brings immense pain. If it collapses too far, your lung will eventually 'tick' over and push upon your heart, leading to a heart attack.

GET YOURSELF TO A HOSPITAL IMMEDIATELY.

Tell them you believe it's a collapsed lung, explain your symptoms, they will do an emergency x-ray, and if it warrants, immediate surgery (Will place a tube into your chest to drain the air that has escaped the lung into the cavity between the lung and the chest).

punctured lung was something I considered, but I'm not really turning blue..

About the cadiac ischaemia, I don't really know about that, the symptoms have been pretty much the same since 3pm.. I'm sorta getting a headache too, but it's not too bad..

It doesn't have to be 'punctured' or turn blue. Read>>406917. Your lung might have a form of cysts on them, mine do, and sometimes these burst or tear.

There are procedures that can be taken to stick the lung to the wall of your chest to prevent any more Pneumothoracies[sic] happening, i have had such procedure taken upon the top of my left lung.

W/e just get to a fucking hospital, also tell them you are a student you would only have to pay like 20$ for the medical bill.

Best case scenario: some sort of minor chest infection.

Worst case scenario: pulmonary embolism or pneumothorax.

Possible mild heart attack; go to the emergency room, you don't need insurance in this country for that.

Not cardiac. Pleural chest rub.

Coughing anything up? Yellow? Green? Could be pneumonia.

Pain increasing with inspiration = probably not cardiac.
