Dear /fit/,

I have a spatial disability. That means I'm fucked if I try to do math. Time to put those algebra skills to use.

I started off at 206 pounds, at 45% body fat. Today, I walk the earth at 168 pounds at 25% body fat. I have also gained approximately 15 pounds of muscle.

With all this given information, can you tell me how many pounds of pure fat I have lost?

Pic related due to being me.

Is this a trick question where if i was on a train going forward and i'm running forward with the train so i would be running faster then i would if i was running backward. Almost with the ablity to create a falcon punch too?

i have to say, me brain hurts. how do you know you gained 15lbs of muscle?
>> Anonymous
OP is prolly around 5'6" to 5'8"

I'm 5'5"

I don't know for sure if it was 15 pounds of muscle. It's just a very rough guess, based on what I've read, combined with the strength and size gains I've made.

23 pounds? Is that all? I think I've lost more than that, no?

talk us through it buddy

206-168+15 = 53lbs fat

Your weight dropped by 38lbs, and you exchanged 15lbs of fat for muscle.

This seems the most straightforward of the answers, not least because he explains it. It *looks* like it makes sense.

Can anyone else confirm it? We've gotten 3 answers so far, heh.

205(start) -168(finish)-15(muscle so it doesn't count) = 22lbs fat lost

err, 206 not 205, so 23 not 22.

i'm the guy who said 23, but im drunk. this answer makes more sense (53). i subtracted the muscled gained from the net loss instead

206 x 0.45 = 92.7 pounds
168 - 15 = 153 pounds
92.7 - (153 x 0.25) = 54.45
In total: You lost 54.45lbs (and also the game)

Fuck you guys suck at maths

Also, OP, I understand your hips are turning to the side whilst you're turning your chest towards the mirror to make yourself look more slimline. yeah.. doesn't really work

not sure about the maths, but judging on that pic you've done way to much arm work and not enough on the rest of your body. Get some bench and deads going on...AND MAKE THEM HEAVY!

Actually, scratch that. The 15 pounds doesn't add on to BF% seeing as it's not fat. So you lost 50.7lbs of the game.
>> Anonymous
eh you guys?

Before: 206*0.45=92.7
After: 168*0.25=42
result: 92.7-42=50.7

It's a trick Arnold used to use. If it was good enough for Arnold, it's good enough for me.

Thanks for your effort, guys!

Thanks for all the number-crunching. I'm gonna go with 50.7, it seems like the most credible statistic.
