/Fit/ How long should I wait after lifting weights to do it again?

I was told that once youve done your workout. And get nice and sore. You should take a day off to heal, or you tear your muscles open again and it slows growth?

Is this true or should I be weight lifting daily?

Best bet would be to cycle between areas of the body. So maybe do Chest one day, Arms the next, Core, and Legs. By cycling exercises you work your entire body and allow sufficient time for your muscles to repair.

Dunno about the slowing growth bit.

once every five days is an intensity that most people should be able to manage.

at the other end of the scale, elite weightlifters will do multiple workouts a day. apparently the chinese coach believes that an athlete needs to have four years under their belt before being ready for this intensity.

You have to let your muscles heal.

Your body being sore is it's way of saying stop.

If you were always sore it'd suck anyways.

So take 1-2 days to heal before lifting again.
