Getting faster. Faster. Faster. Anonymous
Hey /fit/.

I have been doing HIIT biking and sprinting, I run regularly and I play sports. I'm a fast runner and I would like to get into track and whatnot, and would like to improve speed.

Basically, I'm pretty fit and I want to push myself to get faster. What are some things I should be doing?

Picture semi-related I suppose.

It'd take too long for me to explain all the things you can do, but I learned and improved a lot from reading this book (it's free in .pdf format, google it) "Running Fast and Injury Free by Gordon Pirie), the first man to break the sub-4 minute mile time.

Are you looking to enhance acceleration, top end speed or personal times at longer distances? Each one can be achieved but through totally different work outs.

Not OP, but...you wanna name those exercises?

The first post's pdf is only 625kb. After some boring fluff about how he broke the record, he goes into detail about all the workouts you can do for running. Lot's of things similar to HIIT and fartlek runs.
