Hey, mis/fit/s, I've got a sinus infection.

Already got to the doctor today, she gave me some Ceftin as an antibiotic, had me also get some Sudafed, Mucinex, and Nasonex to take a couple times a day until it goes away. I felt like shit this morning when I was there, and was almost too incoherent to even get that information down, much less ask her other questions.

Now that I'm relatively lucid (and can't fucking sleep) do any of you people suggest anything else to help speed this up or relieve it so I don't have to take the whole damn week off of work feeling miserable? I've been told lots of water and Vitamin C helps. Also, hot showers. What else helps?

A hot shower.

When I have a sinus infection, I like to use a steamer. Not the kind for your clothes, but there are actually steamers to help break up congestion in your head. You just put your face over it, and cover it with a towel or whatever to make sure the steam all goes to your face. Your nose will drip like crazy, but it'll make you feel a LOT better afterwards.

If you don't want to buy something, you can simply fill your sink up with super hot water and bend over it with a towel over your head. The only disadvantage to this is that the water will eventually get cold.

What ever it is, get it cleared up fast. I had many that I let go away naturally, and ended up having to have surgery because my sinuses were sealed up and not draining. Its starting to come back, but the nasonex and antibiotics i got are keeping it down quite well.

Well, the whole thing started a couple of weeks ago, but seemed relatively over quickly after some Tylenol and some generic over-the-counter decongestant spray stuff. It was just the other day, though, that it came back with a vengeance, along with coughing, sore throat, headache, dizziness, and all the usual crap that's associated with this kind of affliction.

I'm kinda hoping that period during which it seemed "gone" wasn't just the infection charging it's lazors, so to speak.
