/fit/, how do you prevent GI cramps and stitching while running/jogging?

look, I know this is the internet but there were at some point enough of you around to justify this board so there has to be someone out there.

Warm up more. Do more stretching and do a brisk quarter or half mile walk before you actually begin running.

Alternatively, they might just be caused because you're really out of shape. But in most cases, you should never get cramps of any sort if you warmed up properly. Also make sure you aren't doing stupid things like eating or drinking water RIGHT before you try to run.

Consuming more magnesium rich foods will lower the occurrence of cramps also.

I used to have stitch pain. I got rid of it by timing my breathing with my running. example: I exhale only when my left foot hits the ground. simple and it worked. no more cramps.
