okay /fit/, i fence four to five days a week. i warm up for the class by going on a slow jog to a steep hill with the others in my class, then we sprint to the top and sprint back to the studio.

i while im there i do about 30 minutes of footwork and i fence 7 to 10 15-touch bouts over the course of the night.

then i lift freeweights with my instructor and my friend after most people have left. i go home every night after giving it my all and im exhausted. its a good fucking work out especially in all that gear.

my question

why am i still so fucking fat? im 6'1 235 pounds and my waist is a 36-38 depending on manufacturer. i dotn drink soda, i dont eat chicken wings by the dozen or choke down pints of icecream. i eat two meals a day. good meals not shitty ones.

what? i'm eating recommended calories. about 1800 because i fence and i have natural reserves right now that need to be depleted.

how can that keep me from losing weight? i doubt my body is going into starvation mode on 1800 calories

2 meals a day? Your metabolism is probably going at the speed of a turtle. Spread your 1800 calories out over 6 meals. With just two meals, your digestive system is just sitting in idle mode doing nothing most of the day.

Also, eat a little more. 6'1" + 235lbs + 4-5 days a week = a lot more than 1800 calories for a daily requirement, so bump it up to 2000.

30 minutes of footwork? do you finish it not being able to feel your leg? last i remember 5 minutes of intense footwork can knock the breath out of you and more then 15 is torture. you have to remember that fencing is not an eudurance sport and you're meant to be going full sprint all the time.

Uh, 2,000 is still too low for him. RMR for his height and weight requires about 2,800 calories per day.
