This summer I plan to work out hard and frequently to build myself up. Right now I have skinny arms and a very round abdominal region. However, I dont know anything about the correct way to work out/build muscle fast. I really just want a more solid, harder shape.

Any suggestions for work out routines/dietary habits that I should take for an all around balanced build up? I feel that I have a very weak body, and it especially looks bad when the shirt comes off.

Any suggestions or websites would be great.

Do the big 4; squats, deadlift, bench press and bent over barbell row, personally I also rate clean jerks highly too.

If you have no weights or access to a gym then do burpees, press up, chin ups and crunches.

Make sure you get more calories then you do now, lots of protein and rest, never exercise when your muscles are sore it means they haven't repaired yet.

I started working out around 5 months ago.

If you're skinny like I am (started 5'10" 125; now I'm 5'10" 140), then the key will be diet as well as lifting the right exercises.

Make sure you're getting in at least your body weight in grams of protein and have that be around 35% of your diet, along with 45% carbs and 20% fat.

I started doing full body workouts M/W/F for the first 3 months and then switched to M/Thurs and Tues/Fri splitting the body in half by muscle groups.

Just start with a weight that you can do in the 6-8 rep region for 3 sets and then continue to push the weight up as your muscles adjust.

Don't worry about abs until you reach your "target" weight and then you can start burning off the excess fat if you have any.

Also, you may have to continue to increase your food uptake as you start to gain weight. A lot of skinny people I know plateau easily because they forget to continue to increase the size of their diet as they start to put on weight.
