sugar as in table sugar is sucrose, which is a glucose-fructose molecule. 'sugars' as in simple carbohydrates include everything i have just mentioned. so now we can be precise.
'sugar' is not bad for you. eating so much that you become insulin resistant is bad for you. if you are fat, don't use these drinks.
if you are not fat, then there are appropriate times to drink them, as in during and after training to aid recovery. saying that, you can make workout drinks better for cheaper by yourself, minus the electrolytes. or buy bulk gatorade powder (or other electrolyte powder) which also works out cheaper and i believe has less sugars, making it more appropriated for fatty fatty fatty fats.
