Hello /fit/, quick question.

So you know how you are supposed to rest at least a day inbetween workouts, right? Well how are athletes like football players and such able to lift 3+ times a week, go do practices multiple times a week and not overtrain at all? Is it because these sports are mainly cardio, or what? Thanks.

genetics and lifetime of conditioning.

I say genetic because there are some people, no matter what they do, that will never be able to train full time consistently. Something will happen that will limi their ability to do so much sooner than an athlete.

Also, like i said, pro football players have been training their whole lives. they weren't the kids who were given varsity letters because of their work ethic....
