Weight Gain Anonymous
Alright /fit/, I have a problem.

I've been eating well for the last few weeks. <2000 calories/day and 130+ grams of protein a day. No soda (I quit soda a long time ago), no junk food, no normal flour products (only 100% whole wheat).

I've also been lifting.

In the last few weeks, I have gained 3 pounds doing this. I'm 5'10" 158 pounds. Up from 155 a month ago.

What gives, /fit/?

I've got the same problem, I was 192 a few weeks ago, I started doing a lot of crunches/sit-ups, lifting nearly every day, eating and drinking better and now I average 195 and it's pissing me off.

I started working out more and eating less but so far it's still 195.

You gain muscle before you begin losing fat.

Yeah, but the thing is, before this last month I was eating at my college dining hall and eating more. And I was still lifting sometimes while I was at school.

Its probably a combination of initial weight gain of muscle + extra water retention. Also, based on your BMR, you might be eating too little if you are working out that much. Find yourself a nice calculator and subtract 300 calories after you calculate your daily maintenance with working out included.

If you workout more your bound to spend more energy doing it, so your intake of calories and your weight will go up. Cutting the carbs and diary might help, you want to lower the fat intake as well.

My BMR has always been lower than average. I used to be fat. I'm not any more, but I want to have less fat.

If I don't watch what I eat carefully, I become a fatbody.

I should be eating more.

I eat over 3000 calories a day normally but haven't really changed my eating habits much. I will eat more starting tomorrow.

It really seems like a lot of food though, I already spend like 2-3 hours preparing food a day. Whether it's soup, ground beef, sandwiches, snacks, steak, eggs, etc it's fucking time consuming eating this much.

There is nothing more retarded in the world than measuring fat loss by weight. Every stupid fatty on this board keeps telling how much KGs he needs to lose or how much he has or something.

This is the exact attitude that will prevent you from ever having a muscular body, because you cannot see beyond your stupid, predetermined values - you only see stupid numbers. This is all especially pathetic because you all tell how you exercise a lot but you keep gaining weight.

Look at this faggot>>181135.

A prime example how dumb and thick people can be. You lift a lot and do a lot of muscle exercise, yet you keep gaining weight. Now tell me, why do you do anaerobic training? To build muscle? Well, do you think that all this muscle you build will add or substract from your current weight? Moron.

You faggots need to go back to your BMIs and your world of fat loss based solely on body weight. I suggest you halt all exercise regarding muscular development and spend your days in a sauna. Of course, this must be accompanied by not eating nothing. You can't run! If you run your legs will gain muscle, and we don't want that. So, the best program for you is sauna + not eating anything. And getting the fuck out of here.

Nice try, champ. I know all this.

Fact is, I'm not sure I should be gaining weight on <2000 calories a day, no matter what my lifting regimen is. Everything I've seen says you need extra calories to truly build muscle. I'm lifting to maintain my muscle while cutting fat.

So I'm wondering what's wrong here.

It has been a progressive trend in this last few weeks or its just something you noticed yesterday?
I would say its water retention and a turd trapped in your body.
If it continues I think your metabolism is getting slow, a short bluking phase should bring it back to normal
