Surviving a knife attack to the stomach, would it be better to have muscles or better to have none?

i think, for a stab wound, a shitload of fat would be the best

for a punch, i would rather have rock-hard abs than a shitload of fat
>> Anonymous
>>236783
So a combination would be best.

Flabdominals protect the abdominals
>> Anonymous
I'd imagine it would hurt less if it was fat.
Muscles fucking hurt when they're torn, and I'm assuming the same goes for if they're cut. I really don't know for sure, but that's my guess.
>> faggot !kzxLmJyzX.
If there's a shitload of fat, its not going to reach internal organs as easy as it would with someone who is lean. Same with muscles, if there is a larger amount of something blocking your organs its going to make it more difficult to cause more damage.
>> Anonymous
A decent combination of both, you don't see real fighters running around with 5% bf.

guys how do i get stong
>> Anonymous
>>236778
For a choice between muscles and none, muscles. Being the fattiest fatty to ever fat would be optimal though.

Fun fact: Gladiators tended to be big fatties because back then cutting muscle = lol your fucked.

why so ? muscles would hurt more, or would it help lodge blade further into organs? explain
>> Anonymous
>>236922
If you cut someone's hamstrings, they wouldn't be able to walk. So on for other muscles. In a fight to the death, no being able to move would probably not be good. So it would make sense to have a layer of fat over your muscles.

Bruce Lee would finish them before that. You think any of those faggots are fast enough to grapple him? He could fucking shove two fingers though an unopened coke can. In a real fight Lee would annihilate any MMA fighter. If beating Bruce Lee was as easy as tackling him, don't you think he would have, I don't know, lost even a single fight in his entire career?

Bruce Lee WAS a fucking MMAist. He was well versed in Jeet Kune Do, Western Boxing, Tai Chi, Japanese Jujitsu, and Judo.

>>236989

Bruce Lee was a legend and a genius, I doubt he would approve of your shit-talking on MMA players considering they basically embody his philosophy with regards to sportfighting.

This thread has turned into Anti/Pro Bruce Lee... what the hell.

How can you be anti-Bruce Lee and Pro-MMA? They're very much alike.

I hate you people.

Or they'll get KO'd trying do a takedown.

Bruce Lee was a fucking genius, no one in the UFC would stand a chance. That doesn't mean they suck something awful it just means Bruce Lee was that good.
>> Anonymous
And how can you be anti-MMA and pro-Bruce Lee too? Bruce Lee is the father of modern MMA. If he was still alive, he would have crosstrained in many arts too, and only used what was useful.

Sorry aikido/mystical Kung Fu fags.
>> Anonymous
>>237253
Jeet Kune Do is whatever you want it to be.

"no style as style"
>> Anonymous
>>237272

Bruce Lee was ahead of his time, and may be good at his weight class. But no, he will not take down just anyone from UFC, especially the bigger people.
>> Anonymous
>>237273
MMA is a fairly limited style, with basic kicks, punches and throws. Lee studied a lot of different martial arts, so his style brought a lot of arts together, but you can't compare his fighting with MMA
>> Anonymous
>>237281

MMA by definition is not limited. Technically it covers most martial arts, but only the useful techniques are used.

And Bruce Lee did not study enough wrestling, he was bested by a wrestler in a gym.

If by limited you mean limiting the useless movements, then yeah, both MMA and Bruce Lee do that.
>> Anonymous
>>237279
Bigger people aren't always the best. Look at Mike Tyson or Rocky Marciano. Martial arts often give an advantage to the smaller person
>> Anonymous
>>237287

So who's going to win in a fight? A 7'2 400 lb Mike Tyson, or a 4'9 95 lb Mike Tyson with the same amount training?
>> Anonymous
>>237285
Martial arts and boxing techniques are not useless. Although you probably don't need them when MMA fights consist of running into each other and falling over
>> Anonymous
>>237285
MMA, by definition of their rule books, exclude the really effective strikes and moves.
>> Anonymous
>>237295
the small guy. The taller man will find it more difficult to make an effective attack. Also, super tall people usually aren't that strong
>> Anonymous
>>237296

Actually boxing is utilized a lot in MMA.

In MMA, a fighter has to be well rounded in both striking and grappling. That running you described (since you are probably inexperienced with actual fighting) is called shooting in for someone who wants to bring it to the ground and submit the other person.

>> Anonymous
>>237301

MMA by vale tudo definition is anything goes. The Japanese have traveled to Brazil where these vale tudo competitions have taken place, and those with good MA did well. Aikido and so on did poorly. And what are your "efficient strikes?" Groin attacks? Mystical Kung Fu One Handed Kill Fatalty Moves? Sure, I mean, it sure adds to the mystique of some ancient useless and outdated MA right?
>> Anonymous
>>237305
So what you're saying is, you run into the person and try to knock them over. Sounds like playground fighting with some technical terms
>> Anonymous
>>237281

MMA has no set of predetermined techniques, you use what you want, it's just that some techniques were proven by time to be more effective but there are sanda, jiu-jitsu, boxing, muay-thai, karate, etc.

>>237301

What moves? Hair pulling, balls kicking, eye poking?
>> Anonymous
MMA is just a trend. If you want to be a good fighter, study boxing, Muay Thai and Judo
>> Anonymous
>>237309

No, dumbshit troll, you shoot to take some down and work your way on the ground to ground and pound or a submition, and that's just one side of the fight, there are guys that want to stand and exchange and there are guys that like the ground.
>> Anonymous
>>237308
Groin, sure, but also throat, kicks from above when the guy is flat on his back, headbutts (would break the MMA fighter's nose and lengthen recovery time), eye gouges. Take the list of outlawed moves, and you'll see real showstoppers... because MMA is just a show, like it or not.

MMA fighters are trained to fight specifically for caged-in mats with lots of springiness. Image the difference between a judo throw in an MMA cage and on cement... There's nothing end-all and be-all about MMA fighting. It's just a game--a fun one, but just a game with rules nonetheless.
>> Anonymous
>>237315

And what should you train to start in MMA? STFU if you don't don't know what you're talking about. MMA has more than 80 years and you say that it's a trend?
>> Anonymous
>>237321

But you say that as if outside the cage/ring they couldn't do any of those shit, and WTF with this discussion about MMA vs other martial arts, MMA is just the name of the sport, martial arts is what they use.
>> Anonymous
Anon, you fucking faggots have ruined this thread.
>> Anonymous
>>237326
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8y8noDJq0X0

Here's a UFC clip with two contestants fighting outside the cage. Probably, you've seen it. Notice the one dipshit keeps trying to armbar and gets his head knocked on cement. You can hear the thudding as his head smacks the cement repeatedly. He gets disoriented and loses his lock quickly, of course.

MMA competitions are a fun game and allow people trained for that specific environment to put on quite a show with relatively little lasting damaging, but nothing demonstrated in the cage is the ultimate fighting system.

I'm just saying this obvious reality because it's being argued otherwise.
>> Anonymous
>>237326
By MMA, I am refering to those mixtures of MAs that do the best in MMA competitions, obviously.
>> Anonymous
>>237350

First of all they weren't UFC contestants, they were TUF noobs contestants, they even got kicked out, and both sucks, Marlon has only three wins and three losses and NOah never fought anyone worth it, both were drunk and they showed zero skills.

Lol, Bruce Lee. One boxing tournament as a kid, and then every damn fight for the rest of his life is just outright hearsay.

Can you say "Paper Tiger"? And seriously, what's up with all boners regarding street fighting when it comes to Bruce Lee? People who fight on the street fucking suck, and the vast majority either sucker punch or gang-up on someone every damn chance they get.
