First time poster trying to get in shape Anonymous
First time poster here, i recently started to attempt to get in shape. I am 6'4 and am around 280 pounds, im heavyset guy, but im probably about 50 pounds overweight. It is evenly distributed around my body and so im trying to get rid of it all. I'm trying to eat around 2000 calories a day, i try to run/power walk about 200 calories a day on my treadmill (which usually is about 1 km) im also doing 4 sets of 25 situps and some benchpressing to work my arms. My question is, is doing this going to make a difference, or am i not doing enough if anybody has any input or if anybody was in a similair position please help me out.

not doing enough. eat less (1500 calories) with a large amount of protein for breakfast. after breakfast do a medium intensity workout (weight lifting and cardio), go to work/school, job for 3km or so, do some more weight lifting and then have dinner. keep that up and you'll lose fat quickly

Eat less. Your body burns somewheres above 2000 cals per day, if you want to lose weight, eat less than that. Low intensity exercise won't burn enough to really make a diff.

I'm going to give you some advice that worked for me, but I'm sure will offend the more athletic and health conscious in the audience. I've lost 70+ pounds since last November by eating 1000 cals or less per day for the past several months combined with some minimal exercise. Cut out all sugar and bread products. When I started I also drank a lot of green tea, I'm still not sold on all of its magic mojo claims, but it did help stave off hunger as I got used to going from a major meat and potatoes with extra dessert Irishman to something you could show in public.

The first few days are the worst, it sucks, then you suddenly get used to it and its fine. After the second or third week you will wonder what the big deal was in the first place. After you start shedding pounds you will have all the motivation you need to stay on course. Worked for me anyway.

As for shit to eat, avoid breads blah blah blah. I eat a lot of chicken, its lean and fills you up.
