Hey /fit/ I'm in no way trying to be mean here but I've always wondered why do deaf people speak differently then hearing people? Deaf people seem to have a strong lisp or something, does anyone know why this happens?

Have your ears blocked for a few years and you'll begin to forget how things sound, thus begins your fumbled speaking.
>>310222Even when they have hearing aids and whatnot?I guess I could understand that It's always been a question I've always thought about, thanks
>>310223Maybe that's how they perceive sound? Ever thought of that. I don't think that hearing aids will ever replicate being able to hear like a "normal" individual can.
>>310223Could also be that they miss out on some formative language-learning time.
>>310219Buy sound proofing earphones. Listen to a song. Sing while having earphones in your ears and listening to the song.Record your singing.Play the recording and weep motherfucker.

I have hearing aids, all my life actually. And I pronounce things fine.Maybe it's people who have been deaf for a long time and miss some diction development? Don't know.
