I'm hopelessly confused. I cannot lose weight (I exercise almost daily for 30 minutes to an hour -- cardio and weights on different days). It doesn't matter if I have a small or large deficit... I've ranged from 200-500 calories a day to almost 1000. I just don't lose weight... I've actually gained about 7 lbs over the past few months, granted it may be mostly muscle (in a deficit though?) I also eat clean 99.9% of the time (no processed foods, etc)

Whats wrong with me /fit/? I feel like I'm going crazy.

It's called biology. Women are supposed to have a least 20% bodyfat in order to be healthy and fertile. Your body is in starvation mode and trying to hold on to every last minuscule bit of food you are giving it.

Start eating 500 Cal less than the Cals you calculate using the Harris-Benedict equation in order to lose weight (which you probably shouldn't), then adjust.

Cals need to come from roughly:
20% protein
20%-30% fat
50%60% carbs

In order to calculate percentages:
1g protein = 4 Cal
1g fat = 9 cal
1g carbs = 4 cal

EXAMPLE DIET:

I try to eat at least 3000 Cal a day. I eat at least 150 g of protein, 375g-450g of carbs, and around 60g-101g of fat.

Yes. Both my mother and father have thyroid issues. My mothers have been more profound apparently, and my dad has recently gone to the doctor for thyroid issues.

Both of them have hypothyroidism.
