So we've got an elliptical in our house that I'd like to start using, especially since it's starting to get colder outside. At the same time, i've never done HIIT before and i'd like to try giving it a shot. What does /fit/ think of doing HIIT on an elliptical? I'm sure it's better than a treadmill..

It is better than a treadmill since HIIT on a treadmill often goes to unsafe speeds and the elliptical is more efficient at those speeds.

Ellipticals are just better in general.

Running outside is still the best.

Why subject your joints to that sort of impact needlessly? There are plenty of zero impact forms of exercise that are just as effective. Running is just cheap and easy, it is not the "best" by a long shot.

You can do HIIT in any form of cardio with fairly equal efficacy. As long as you're pushing yourself as hard as you can.

try running from the cops. great insensitive and gets your natural adrenalin flowing.

what is with this HITT thing? I mean I echo some statements in other threads... you need to be fit to run not run to be fit. and it is hell on the knees. Try swimming much better overall and makes you learn to breath right.
