So, I can't believe I'm actually posting here, but I think I need some opinions, advice, and generally, help.

I'm 5'7" (maybe 5'8" now), and I weigh approximately 240lbs. I am a goddamn fatass and I know it.

So, I lost about 80 pounds in a year from playing DDR alone every Friday for about 7 hours straight. No other exercise, I ate whatever the hell I wanted and sat on my ass every other day of the week. I put all of that weight back on when I stopped playing, however.

So, now I'm back at around 240lbs. I'm trying to watch what I eat (wtf like a month ago I was eating grilled cheese all the time, fat on top of fat, ew) and cut down on how much, and I'm back into playing DDR until I basically kill myself on Fridays.

I live in Michigan, and it's icy as hell and snowing like a bitch all the time. If it wasn't for the ice (not so much the cold), I would run.

What else can I do for exercise during these months besides DDR at the arcade? And do you have any tips on how to lose weight in general, both in eating and other exercises? HALP ME.

I'm also a chick.

tl;dr 5'7" or 5'8", weigh 240lbs, lost 80lbs originally and put it back on. i play DDR every friday, and i'm starting to watch what i eat. i am a chick. halp me.

It's an icky situation. women hold onto weight alot better than dudes. They can't strength train as intensely. I really wouldn't know what to say more than cardio celery etc etc.

Do you have any friends who would wanna lose weight with you?

Jump rope, get a stationary bike and do that for 10-30 minutes, do crunches and push-ups. That's a decent cardio routine, especially if you go in cycles (i.e. jump rope for 2 minutes, immediately do push-ups, transition to sit-ups, go on the bike, then go back to push-ups, sit-ups, or jump roping).

Well, the way I lost weight was martial arts and diet. If you keep up that DDR and eat less, you should be fine. It's not so much as eating vegetables and shit, its just eating proper portions (though, learning to love a vegetable helps).

I'd say the main thing is the portions. Just stop eating like a god damn whale. Eat slower and you'll realize that you can get full with less.

Don't bother posting this, just report anyone who shitposts like the sticky says. Were trying to keep this place as clean as possible for as long as possible.

There have been several topics as to how to lose weight, I myself am trying to lose weight as well. There are three Cs you need to learn if you want to lose weight.

Cardio
Calories
Consistency

Cardiovascular Workout: Any exercise that gets your heartrate above normal for over 20 minutes. The higher the better (just don't pass out) of course. Talk to your doctor about certain problems you might encounter doing so (I personally combat MVP [mitro valve prolapse occasionally] which is rather painful when it does spike up).

Calories: you have to eat less to lose more. Calories are generally the way we dictate how much you can eat per day. Furthermore, you burn a certain amount of calories per amount of exercise.

Consistency: You can't do 18902371923 minutes of exercise, then go 2 weeks without. You have to do it EVERY SINGLE DAY if you really want to lose weight, or every other day if you don't want to stress your system out too much.

Since you can't run, focus on diet only. No. More. Goddamn. Fast. Food.

You hear me? No more. I doubt you're going to listen to me, since fat fucks tend to not have the discipline necessary for this.

No more soda. If you're serious about this, (although I doubt you are, since it takes an incredible lack of self worth to get that fat), cut out soda completely.

No more snack foods.

Lots of fiber, lots of veggies and fruits. Lean meat only. Cut back on the white flour/rice, go whole grain.

What is your diet like? What did you eat this weekend? how many meals?

You diet is the single major factor to get to the goal.

BUT it's not easy because 99% people cannot just stop eating what they did for past 5 years of their lives.

So the best way is to do a gradual change in your life style including eating habits. Especially **wimmenz** since they crave sugar, sweet, sour treats.

Intead of normal chocolate get "dark" chocoalte or sugar free. Replace coke with coke zero.

Trust me it would be really hard to quit eating cheese burgers everyday right? Well you CAN do is eat one or two burgers on your designated day of the week as a "Reward" for not eating them all week. makes sense?

There you go, challenge each other to lose weight. My old neighbors entered into a biggest loser contest. Really theres no amount of motivation we could give you over the tubes that could compare to real people. And if you lack self control should try to eat with people who are also looking to get fit.

uh, i don't EAT fast food.
and i only drink water.
fast food makes me want to throw up.
and the smell of pork chops and shit makes me wanna throw up too.

+for the record, i had a thyroid problem for a while as well. it's not just "LOL I SAT ON 4CHAN ALL DAY AND ATE CHOCOLATE AND ICE CREAM AND NOW IM 240LBS"

>>5351
jumprope might be a problem simply because theres barely any open space in the apartment i live in.
i can do the other stuff for sure, though.

No. No "reward days". Those are for the weak, retarded, and completely undisciplined. What this bloated whale needs is a lifestyle change, not just a diet change.

Cut out as much unnecessary fat (mac and cheese, trans fat, ice cream, red unlean meats) as possible but still eat some good fats like those in fish, olive oil, and nuts

eat HEALTHY. THIS IS HARD but it works. No white flour. No refined sugar. No artificial sweeteners, no hydrogenated oil, etc.

Losing weight can be healthy or unhealthy. The healthy way to lose weight will hopefully stick and you'll lose weight, feel better, look better, be happier.

Drink 8-10 glasses of water a day. Water cleans out toxins from your body and flushes out fat.

Don't eat during the 3 hours before bed time, and near the arrival of those three hours, eat something yummy but light, easy-to digest. Some berries or melon? Salad? Hummus? Lots of good stuff out there.

Can't run? Exercise anyway. Sit ups. Crunches *i do 100 a day...do 'em the right way though and you'll feel results). Stretch EVERYDAY!!!! Get blood flowing, this increases your metabolism and burns fat and makes ya feel good! Look into some yoga to help guide your stretches if you want. Try Sun salutations and repeat 4-10 times morning and evening.

Eat LOTS of fresh fruit and veggies. They have a lot of water and nutrients so you are full of nutrients and full from the water, this will not tide you over for a long time but that's ok.

Eat OFTEN! Eat six smaller snack-like meals a day.

Eat whole grains a couple times a day but don't depend on them just because they are easy!

Eat a nice-sized hanful of any nut besides peanut and macadamia a day for necessary good fats to halp you lose weight and for nutrients.

Lastly, get enough sleep. Sleep helps you feel good, look good, and lose weight. Sounds weird but try it. 8-8 1/2 hrs a night is usually a good range.

for meat, try fish and chicken instead of red meat...eat not too often

avoid cheese and butter often. VERY high fat. Trade for cold-pressed olive oil.

Have fun and good luck!

If you dont have the monentary means to get a gym membership or your own treadmill, then just try your best to do circuit training (excercises with no breaks in between to get your heart rate up). Do 5-6 different exercises in rapid succession then rest for like 2-3 minutes. I live in Seattle so i have no fucking idea how terrible it is over there, but honestly running is where its at.

Get your boyfriend to work out with you and cook healthy meals together?

How the hell can Eurobeat dancin gaems make you lose weight? Go to the gym and treadmill or some shit. There is bound to be a gym on your campus.

currently where i live, we're breaking records for average snowfall and shit and we got like 10 inches today.
anyway, i was considering joining a gym, but that idea is awkward for me.

>>5406
the only meats that don't make me wanna throw up are chicken (ill only eat it if its boiled) and rarely, fish.
i don't like to eat other meats as it is.
mac and cheese is gross, ice cream is kinda gross too, etc etc.
i'm guilty of a very messed up sleep pattern and sometimes eating before bed. (1-2 hours before, not immediately)

>>5417
my bf lives 3 hours away and is a FUCKIN TWIG.
he's 5'6" and weighs 110lbs, and eats like a horse and doesn't exactly "exercise" that often.
he offered to run with me in the summer when he's here, but it's really awkward for me because of how skinny he is compared to me.

This is really good advice.

NOT OP, or a girl, but I can definitely take notes from that. Thanks Anon.

>the only meats that don't make me wanna throw up are chicken (ill only eat it if its boiled)

Good. Eat chicken breast and only chicken breast in whatever quantities needed until you reach your target weight.

It's as simple as that.

Get a consistent nutritional plan and follow it to the letter. Seriously, there's no big secrets to it, just plan your meals and eat them. If you really need variety, plan different ones for every day of the week and then repeat.

Once you're about halfway to your goal weight or reach a plateau, add exercise to the mix.

In the same sense that losing weight leaves loose skin, yes.

Well, a way to save money would be to buy a PS2 and the DDR game. That way you don't have to spend so much at the arcade, since it stacks up over time. Or actually buy a DDR Machine if you are going to use it for the rest of your life.
