Anyone here do the Crossfit workouts?

I'm in "decent" shape, and am starting them today. I really, really have a hard time with the Muscle Ups.

I'm sure I'll get better with practice...I just want to know who here on /fit/ does the Crossfit WODs regularly?

muscleups are too hardcore for /fit/

all /fit/ wants is 6 pack abs, not core strength

i started doing crossfit regularly last month. i still scale back on some of the compound lifts because i'm a pussy and don't want to get hurt.

i finally got a muscle up after about 2 months of doing weighted pull ups. i would do about 4 or 5 sets of 2 pulls at a time, with as much weight as i could manage. after a couple weeks, it was easy to do pull-ups to my chest. eventually you just get the momentum/speed to get over that bar.

that said, i did today's WOD as requested -- 300 squats, 50 muscle ups

Yea I think the only way to get a muscleup is to be NASTY with pull ups.

the only way to get nasty with pull ups is to....do pull ups.

I'd say train pullups each workout....do a couple sets till exhaustion. Do that every other day?

The one today doesn't really seem balanced. 100 bodyweight squats is really not a big deal, I do 50 as a warm-up some times, but I can barely do two muscle-ups.

For time:
100 Squats
5 Muscle-ups
75 Squats
10 Muscle-ups
50 Squats
15 Muscle-ups
25 Squats
20 Muscle-ups

THAT is the workout. Doing it for time, mind you. Shits fucking hard.

Muscle up Tips:

use a false grip
this means dont grip the bar, but curl your wrists over it, hurts more but its easier to get into the dip position

kip
swing your legs at the bottom to get more explosiveness
