Small Meals Anonymous
I've recently started getting problems with acid reflux and have decided to try having smaller, more frequent meals for a while.

Everyone in /fit/ always says that they are better for you particularly if you want to loose weight, but I don't, if anything I want to gain it. The problem is I'm having a hard time getting the right balance and volume of nutrients. Before I would have large meals, generally rice or pasta with some sort of protein and lots of veg. Now I'm regularly snacking but am not sure I'm getting enough. Cooking small versions of my old style meals is time consuming and hardly seems worth it. I'm wondering if /fit/ has experience.

Here's what I'm guessing could come up:
Nuts
Protein Shakes
Milk
Yogurts
Tins of tuna
Fruit
Cheese
Peanut butter
Sandwiches

One way to do it is just cook your regular big meals and then divide it up.

smaller meals isn't as much about portion as it is about intervals. you lose weight because your metabolism continues to work digesting the food.

you eat the same amount, just divided/spread out more. six meals is like taking every meal and cutting it in half (1/2 breakfast, rest of breakfast, 1/2 lunch, rest of lunch, 1/2 dinner, rest of dinner).
