SKINNY NEEDS HELP. Anonymous
I am a skinny fag trying to bulk up, currently my calorie intake is 2500-3000 will go up when college starts back up in 2 weeks, and i work out 6 days a week, Lift days A & B, alternate each week, and than 3 days of lower body/abs, NO CARDIO i am trying to bulk.

I have gained about 5 lbs in the 4 months i have been doing this, but have way more muscle ( i know hard to believe looking at this pic)

But tell me what you think 4 months in knowing that 4 months ago i had next to no arm muscle/definition, and absolutely NO pec or ab definition, also what can i do to improve?

Thanks /fit/

eat more, ull gain some fat- but with the work ethic you get from eating and working out you will be able to lose it.

You need to eat more, thats all. 6 meals a day, milk, tuna, whatever. You just have to eat more thats the super secret. Have yogurt in between meals, eat a heavy meal after going to the gym. I picked up 20 pounds this summer from 145 to 165 with minimal gain of bodyfat. Just eat more.

Jesus Christ, you're going to need the best experts on fit. You need a lot of work done. No problem... I love a challenge.
First, get off your dumbass plan.

Eat 5000 calories a day, start Rippetoe's program, and google bodybuilding.com's startup for Rippetoe's.

Explain why Rippetoe's is better than SS 5x5

does not compute. Rippetoe wrote Starting Strength.
You might want to try stronglifts.com 5x5. It's very similar and I find it to be excellent.

Train less, 6 days a week doesn't give your muscles enough time to recover, once a week for and and once a week for lower. Train harder and rest longer.

All right, i'll start rippetoes tonight, thanks for the honesty guys...the 6 day a week thing i've been doing has been a modified Bill Phillips body for life workout, but i guess i'll start Rippetoe.

Oh, yeah that's what I meant. I'm currently doing 5x5, but hear everyone preach about Rippetoes. Why should it be better? It's fewer sets with the same amount of reps.

not OP btw.

It's not better nor worse, just different.
If you only do 3 sets instead of 5, you can load a bit more weight each rep.
At one point one might want to change schedule and change from one program to another.

This guy eats like a thousand more calories than I do and I'm still gaining more weight. Maybe you should increase the weights on your lifts?

I see, then my escape route is set.

1. Increase your calorie intake
2. Make sure you're upping your weight every week.
3. Work out less often. 3-4 days a week. Your at risk of over training with only 1 day of rest.

sauce: research

Do some very light cardio before you work out too, 5 mins walking, 5 mins jogging, followed by 5 mins walking. That'll get the blood flowing and give you a better overall workout.
