Sup /fit/, a few questions:

I normally come pretty close to actually starting a fitness routine, eating properly, etc - but I can never keep it up! What are your secrets for staying motivated? I'm 6'0" about 240 lbs.

I don't have a local gym, so I've been investigating picking up some equipment for the house. I don't really have room for it, so it'd have to be something I could store out of the way reasonably well. Any suggestions?

I also never have the desire to eat breakfast, which I know fucks me up royally. Often I'll skip lunch while I'm working, then I gorge myself at dinner and crash a few hours later. In b4 suicidal lifestyle.

I'm not really sure where to begin here...

Pic unrelated.

I have a similar problem. The fucks I live with make it next to impossible to have milk for cereal.
They make a coffee, put milk in it, then fuck off and forget the milk.

I haven't consumed more than a few pints of milk in the last decade.
Right now I'm buying ready-made sandwiches from the local bakers on my way to work.

Get an iPod and load it up with some good music.

eat oatmeal.. all you need is water for that. Multivitamins are a better source for you to get your calcium than milk is anyhow.

What's a good brand of oatmeal? I imagine you don't just pick up something from quaker...

preparation. i make lunch on Sunday for the next 3 days. normally chicken breast broccoli and brown rice. protein shakes make life a lot easier. and if your trying to loose fat it should be oats every morning, and you can make these from water. good thing about oats is none of your roomies will ever steal them. but honestly the key to it all is preparation.

Do you have a community center?

Anyway, my motivation comes from the results I see in myself after I started and the continuing results.

Not really - I live in the middle of buttfuck ontario, so there's really not much. I was thinking of taking up running, but when mentioned that a few weeks back, the /fit/ crew said that the high impact of running would be dangerous for my joints at my weight. I'd need to lose some weight FIRST, then run.

Yes, quaker oats are good, just not the packaged flavored kind etc..

get the oats in the tub(unflavored). not the packs.

buy a container of cinnamon from the spice area of the grocery store if you feel the need to flavor it a little.

start of just walking then for a couple miles.. dont worry about what others say about joint pain, just dont overdo it. after a week or so add some 10 second sprints into your walking, then build from there.
