Greetings /fit/

My goal is to lose 60 lbs (220 lbs atm at 5?6?). I don`t want to have excess skin hanging off of me after losing weight. How do I pervent this from happening?

It's not going to. That only happens to extremely fat lards who weigh 400+ lbs.

I'd do it slowly. Rapid weightloss wouldnt give the skin time to tauten up. Another factor is your age. Skin sags with time. Depending on how fat you are it may never tighten.

BUILD LEAN MUSCLE. That's the biggest thing. Don't do lots of cardio and nothing else. You WILL have loose skin, then. Stimulate your skin when you're in the shower with a loofah. Don't have a crap diet.

Pay special attention to the areas that loose skin are most prevailant. Your arms, stomach, chest, and thighs. Make sure they are getting nice workouts.

If you're young (I'm talking below the age of 30,) then your skin will probably be fine if you haven't stretched it THAT far. Most people I've seen with loose skin were 150-200lbs overweight and lost it too fast.

I went from 275lb to 200lb in around 9-10 months, and I have no loose skin.

If you lose at a reasonable pace (1-3lbs a week,) you more than likely will not have loose skin. You're not THAT overweight.

Don't fret. Do your diet and exercise RIGHT. Don't falter.

Actually, at 5'6, anything over 155 is overweight, and I think 180 was clinically obese.

Of course, these numbers are utter bullshit, since a lot of things aren't taken into consideration, but it's what the online doctors say.

I was 255, and I dropped to 178 in 3 1/2 months. I had very little loose skin. It was more along the lines of a tiny bit of pudge that I could stand to lose. But it could be seen as loose skin if you went around shirtless.

I was 26 at the time.

Atkins, and a job that required a lot of walking, and very light lifting, in case you were curious how I did it so quickly.

Also, if you do Atkins right, you won't get sick. Read the fucking book, and realize that salads are the mainstay of the diet.
