So /fit/ I ruptured my achilles tendon last Saturday. Surgery on it 2 days ago.

I cannot stand or put weight of any kind on my left leg for the next few weeks. What exercises can I do while laid up on the couch to keep my metabolism up?

OP, you're seriously screwed for the rest of you're life. That's perhaps the worst injury to get. You'll probably never be able to do the same level of exercises with your feet ever again (leg press, running, etc.)

Really sorry to hear that

Stretch before/after every workout - especially ankles. Best way to stretch them is lunges or putting your arms/hands against a wall, pushing against it in lunge form and alternate legs

OP here. Happened during my regular weekly pickup basketball game, figured that might be the last time I'm ever playing in one of those.

According to the doctor, he saw most of these from people starting to play hoops or tennis again after a long layoff (years). I'm 32 and play at least once a week, so this was pretty surprising to play the least.

Prevention = stretching and not just jumping in full steam if you haven't played in a while.

Based on the responses, fapping looks like my best option. I'd better get started.

It's just a few weeks.
Also: He can just use little weight with a lot of reps.

Looks like he could theoretically do any upper body exercise that involves laying or sitting. Depends on how painful it would be for him but leg ab/aduction might be possible and if he's lucky quads and hamstring sitting exercises are possible.

He'll look like the justic league characters by thje time he heals lol
