SQUATZ and injury Anonymous
Why hello /fit/
I added squatz to my routine for the second time today.

I had the same problem as last time. As I reach my muscles being tired, my foot nerve tingles as I go down and my knees feel funny.

Should I lower the weight and press on, or what? My form seems ok.

Also, when I do them I just grab two dumbbells and hold them at my sides (arms straight down). Could this be affecting my ability to do squatz?

I'm a total squatz newfag so I only do 25 lbs per hand (50 lbs total).

I guess /fit/ is better at answering questions like
>Hay guise i need to lost 20# by 2 wks lol 4 a pool party also how does i spot reduce my thighs :3

you could try lowering the weight, i wouldn't necessarily keep pressing on in such a vulnerable position where your fucked if you fail

how can u not squat..50lbs?

What you mean your knees "feel funny"? The way you put it makes it seem like you're just a pansy. If you really are injured, you work around it. I have had excruciating pain from tendinitis in my shoulder for the last six years, but I know what my limits and avoid the exercises that cause it to flare up.

I know it's weak. Normally I didn't really squat or if I did it was just body weight.

I run and do other stuff... so I'm not sure why I'm having this problem.

Either way, at the bottom of my squat my nerve in my right foot tingles and my knees are feeling weird.

I just don't want to hurt myself.

Thanks for the replies.

You might be practicing bad form. Try to keep your knee pointing in the same direction as your feet and keep your butt farther back so that your knees are closer to directly above your feet. In other words, the guy in your pic is DOIN IT RONG!

do you have a barbell? itd be much better IMO if you just did squats with a 45 pound barbell on your back...
