I'm in a rut. I just kicked over two waters next to my computer. That happens all the time, because about 20 cups of water are only part of the mammoth disaster my apartment has become. I'm wearing my last clean shirt, the laundry has made it to the roof, I've named individual kleenex mountains, the dishes have cultured 2.5 months of I'm not sure what, and I just tripped over a wire welder. This is in stark contrast to even five months ago. I was 100% spartan, completely organized, everything was too clean. Every day I think I'm going to get out of bed and clean it. Then the person closest to me died. I just went back on Wellbutrin. I don't sleep right anymore, but it's been diagnosed as solely caused by anxiety/depression. I quit school (temporarily?) and put on 30 pounds. I work nights at a prospering sandwich joint instead of conceiving art, my only true/relevant outlet.

How do I start living again?

I'm gonna take a wild stab that this isn't a troll.

You got a therapist working with your psych?

Not yet.

Isn't the core of any situation like this the desire to start living again?

I'm against behavior modifying drugs. If you need to talk out your problems, by all means. Drugs are just going to fuck with you, now or down the road.

Get one. I was in your shoes a couple years back. Talk to a therapist. Get her working with your psych. Go twice a week if you have to.

First thing first, Clean that fuckin house. You're employed? Cool, maybe even hire someone to help, you can say it was some punk kidss who were renting the place. This should work wonders, cos when you get up you wont be feeling shit about the way your room/house is. In fact, start now. Go get a wheelie bin and fill that bitch up.

Bam.

Still working? Awesome. Keep that shit up.

Try to go back to school, and get into some of that free councelling. At least this will give you a routine to stick with, instead of staying home making kleenex mountains.

ALSO, try to get some exersize. It makes the brain release yummy endorphins which are good for depreshunz.

One more thing: Don't give up.

I have a pretty long history with them, so I know exactly how they can fuck you.
I'm just looking for a jump start or something in Wellbutrin. So far, it's causing me to interact with customers a lot better and fucking with me, and I'm no happier or closer to getting out of bed.

Art you say? Get your entire room, and sell it as an installation peice, and make MILLIONS.

Call it "The squallor of solace"

I'm full of shit for saying that you should decide that you need to change yourself and avoid psychology and instead pursue psychiatry?

Man, those sure are some way off base things to say.

OP here. I know your angle, and even partially agree with it because of my existentialist opinions on how we define our realities, but I think you'd be hardpressed to entirely support your generalization about medicine. At least wellbutrin isn't a fucking stimulant. I don't make much seratonin. It primarily delivers that with a side of concentration. I'm going to need that for a period of time.

I thought wellbutrin was a dopamine reuptake inhibitor
>> Anonymous
>>19806
"Bupropion works by inhibiting the reuptake of dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine; an action that results in more dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine to transmit messages to other nerves."

You are correct - dopamine and norepinephrine.

>>19810

Not sure where you pulled that from, but it's not correct. Bupropion isn't an SSRI.

what is that from? This is from the bupropion wikipedia page

>Bupropion (INN; previously known as amfebutamone,[1] Wellbutrin, Zyban) is an atypical antidepressant that acts as a norepinephrine and dopamine reuptake inhibitor, and nicotinic antagonist.

actually, I guess it doesn't matter

OP here. Dopamine is what I meant. The drug isn't very central to my progressive ruination at this time.
