I was just curious about how much should a 155lb male be able to bench if they are very fit?

100% of their own weight? 150%? over 900!?

my friend benches 225 for 3-4 and he's 165-168 depending on time of day.. just as a gauge. he hasn't gone to the gym regularly in over a year though, he used to have 225 for 10-12 and he was 160-165 then

I agree. I'm a 102lb female and I do about 35-40lbs when I'm at the gym with a friend of mine. I don't think it's sexist. It's jsut that guys can put on more muscle then girls can.
