So, I just had a very spontaneous nosebleed. It just came out of nowhere, and this is the second time it has happened. It's not just a small smear of blood like what I am normally used to, either, and both times it was dripping from my nostrils (although the first time was worse).

What is causing this? Is this normal? Should I get this looked at?

I also get hella nosebleeds randomly *mostly during summer/hot months*
anyways I did go ask a Doctor why they happen. He mentioned I had large blood vessels/veins in my nose(yah he looked up there). He didn't really give me a reason to why it happens, but he did offer to burn them "closed" for me! O_O! He said it would help but might not stop it 100%

The majority of spontaneous nosebleeds occur when blood vessels in your nostril burst due to increased pressure - this is usually from excess body heat. If you want to make it stop quickly, put an ice pack over your face while holding the top bridge of the nose - the area just between the eyes.

If you're constantly getting bursts, it could be the same vessel that's wonky, the doctor will give it a small "burn" to its approximate location to cauterise and close it off. Trust me, this doesn't hurt.

He might not be underage b&. I'm 20 and still get them often, due to allergies. Then again that's not much of an age difference.

I can see where you're coming from though; I did get them more often when I was around 16.
