new post (accidentally posted this in a reply)

Dear /fit/

I took a deep look in the mirror today and have finally decided to do something about my body. I’m in mid twenties, haven’t exercised in years, and am ready to do whatever I need to lose the excess weight.

Current stats - | Twenty-four | 6’ 2” | 260ish | moobs |

My main goal is to simply lose the chest and stomach fat, as well as build up my stamina in hopes of running a full mile at a steady pace. Muscles aren’t as important right now as losing the weight. I’m extremely new (read noob) to the exercise world, so please assist / critique in any way possible.

I currently have access to a treadmill, and basketball court, live in a safe neighborhood if I feel like jogging in the park, and would prefer to lift weights at home until I feel less self-conscious about my body – for the price I plan on purchasing the XRS20 (I’ve seen it posted here before - http://www.goldsgear.com/cgi-bin/frontrunner.cgi?ri=111&rc=GGYM&rs=T&ro=T&sid=GGBE14
86&whs=ALL&os=AUTOCAST ) along with 300 pounds worth of weights).

My diet will of course change, and I have no problem eating fruits, vegetables, turkey, grilled chicken, et cetera, and am an amazing cook, so no worries there. As of today I will no longer dominate Starbucks, skittles while I’m high, or fast food in any way. If the meal was not prepared by me at home, fuck that mess.

I have found that many overweight people, myself included eat out of bordem, more than skinny blokes. Find a way to keep yourself busy. Never eat while your mind is occupied on anything but eating; that means no eating while on the computer or watching tv. 3500 calories is a pound of fat, You likely burn 1200 calories a day without exercise, so in order to loose a pound, you must limit your intake to a net subtraction of what you wish to loose. Be strict with schedules, and don't give yourself any slack the first few weeks. In time these rituals will become habit.
