To start off, I'm a relatively fit 20 year old guy.

I just did AB RIPPER X for the first time, and instead off feeling like I got an ab workout, I feel like someone has been punching me in the waist and thighs. I thought this was supposed to work my abdominal muscles, not my legs. Pic is colored red to indicate muscle tired/soreness.

Can anyone explain?

Did you stretch before?

Yeah, and I warmed up by doing 15 minutes of cardio too.

This happened to me as well my first few times. I think as a consequence of exercising your lower abs, your upper legs get worked too.

You have a small dick.

That explains EVERYTHING.

If you haven't worked your Sartorious muscles (the muscles that connect your pelvic/gential area to your inner thighs), or haven't ran, or squat, something to stimulate your quadriceps, doing the Ab Ripper X exercises will really put strain on those areas.

OP here; I should mention that I lost my legs in a car accident four years ago, so the pain I'm feeling is phantom pain.

Just do crunches and cardio, nigger.

kill the phantom to get the missing gear for the AB RIPPER X and turn in the quest for 250 rep

ab workouts can work out your hip flexors instead of your abs. Flex your butt while you're doing crunches/whatever you're doing for abs and your abs will start doing the work

It's because your body isn't used to lifting your legs using your actual tendons. Those muscles aren't used to being used, therefore you are sore.

Hip flexors aren't real you jackass they're a myth.
