ATTENTION /fit/!

I present you with two questions.

1. Can I work out the same muscle group day after day if said muscle group is not sore the next day?

2. At 5'11", 209 pounds and a 1/4-1/2 inch layer of fat on my stomach with what I can feel are hard muscles underneath, is it possible to get abs in a month and a half? (That is my time frame given to me, I'm not trying to look for a quick solution.)

Pic is op. No, not sucking in gut, only using it to show how fat is not present that much in other places.

IN THIS CORNER WE HAVE....

not sure about 2, but,
1) you should probably try working the muscle groups harder instead. Soreness will generally imply more growth, push it a bit harder during workouts i say.
>> Anonymous
yeah, if your muscle group isn't sore, then you didn't do it right. Lift more, lift heavier, if you have been doing it for a while, try some new techniques to hit it.

hi
i think with all those muscles you will have more success slimming by controlling your diet. make sure you are eating 4-6 small meals a day. avoid simple carbs, eat only whole grains, veggies, and lean meat. you'll slim right down

Okay, because I have been working on my forearms alot, and after the workout (immeadiately after) my forearm is rediculously hard and obviously thoroughly worked out, but the next morning it is ready to go.

forearms are f'ing hard to build because they, like your calves build really fast. just keep working at it. I wouldn't work them day after day though, without a day in between.

Oh believe me, I know. I'm even on flax seed, omega-3, b12, and B supercomplex all to help my metabolism and am adhering to the 6 small meals a day routine. That along with no longer drinking soda or anything with high fructose corn syrup and finding fast food and junk food disgusting, and drinking skim milk, I'm sitll having difficulty droppin to 190 or 180

Hmmmm. okay. I did get them very very sore recently, so I am giving them a 3 day rest while I work out other things and substituting my forearm work out for cardio. I just want veins.

unfortunately you may be hampered by genetics... just keep working at it... it sounds like your on the right track

Both morons.

If you don't get much soreness then you did the exercises right and you are eating properly.

I keep gaining inches in my chest, my BMI rises steadily, my Bf% stays 10-11%, I can add pounds each workout. I never get sore. I never did get so sore that I couldn't lift my arms. I am currently benching 375ish, deads are at 550 and squats are at 620. NEVER got sore. Not once!

So if I am hearing you right... No soreness=go ahead next day?

no give your muscles time to rest doing the same thing every day you will only over work your muscles which results in not much improvement. People are different you have to find your sweet spot for rest/workout ratio

Yes, I currently train full body 4 days a week. Mon Tue Thu Fri

And by full body I don't mean a bunch of little isolation exercises I mean mostly compound shit.

For the past 2 weeks I have been giving myself no day of rest. I have been told that at this rate, I should have broken down my muscles a decent amount, but so far they have been building fairly well. This am good?

lolwut? Dont argue w/science.

I wasnt talking "ZOMG PUSH IT TO THE MAX TILL YOU CANT MOVE," but some soreness implies repair on the muscle which'll come back stronger than before.

For the abs, crunches to help build muscle not burn fat, and to burn that fat try H.I.I.T, best cardio ive ever done
>> Anonymous
how much time you give between exercises really depends on you personally. there are competitive powerlifters that train their exercises 3 times a day EVERY DAY, but obviously they've built up some good recovery speed. i did the same lifts (squats/deadlifts/bench) 5 days a week and saw good results. (bench went from barely 135x5 to 225x4 and squats from 135x10 to 245x12 in 3 months)

it looks like you still have fat on your arms and you probably have a double chin but are posing in that way so as to hide it
>> Anonymous
>>63791
dude, he never said that once in his entire post

never work out the same muscle group 2 days in a row, period, whether they are sore or not
>> Anonymous
>>63809
depends on how long you've been working out

i was working out for a year while doing cardio as well to cut

i continuously was upping my weightlifting power

but i've plateaud now, and am just focusing on not losing the power until i'm done cutting (yeah, i wasn't being a super-disciplined eater until recently, so that's why i haven't finished cutting for a year)

OP Here. Okay, that's what I thought. Not what "Oh I like to hear only what reinforces my previous belief. Some people that I used to work out with did fine after one days rest, others just needed 24 hours.

No, that's just you being an asshole. I have no double chin and the fat on my arms is minimal.

Lift again as soon as you can lift more than last time.

If you are lifting higher weights you're recovered enough.

If you can't lift more than your last workout you aren't recovered.

Higher food intake and sleep time will reduce recovery times.

Would swimming laps help you get cut?

You need to change up technique, or need to start doing really slow reps. If you cant feel it, nothing is happening

Weight Gainers or Protein powders?
This week there is a special at my supplement provider store.
15lbs(6.8kg) of weight gainer for 35$, wich contains 1.36kg of protein (20% of total weight)
5lbs(2.3kg) of protein powder for 25$, wich contains 1,75kg of protein (77%)

I don't know how much calories i eat everyday, but i sometime struggle to get 6 meals a day. I'd take the weight gainer to clog any voids that i have, but i'm worried that it's bad proteins and that there is no ammino acids or that i will eat the bag way too quickly.

I don't really want to bulk up, i just want the proper nutrition for strenght gain.

Pic related, it's the offered weight gainer bag. I think that 'Mutant Mass' is a kind of scary title, because i don't want to become a mutant and mass isn't my primary concern, just strenght.

I hope you can help,
David
