What's /fit/'s favorite protein source?

For me, it's tuna. Whey makes me want to gag, protein bars are a whole lot of unnecessary fat and carbs. But tuna is just a tiny bit fat, all the rest protein--39 g in a can. inb4 mercury poisoning.

I like all kinds of fish. I could live on seafood. It must be awesome to be a shark.

Yeah yeah I know I know. I said favorite source, not only--I still do the whey thing. Still, tuna's awesome on its own except for the whole mercury thing.

Chickpeas/hummus.

Tuna is great, I eat a ton of eggs too. Red meat, but not all that often as it tends to rack up my grocery bill and I'm a broke college kid.

Delicious chocolate milk, with egg white protein.

Doesn't get any better.

Kosher chicken breasts. I'm not Jewish, but it's nice knowing that all those nasty blood vessels are cut out and the blood is soaked out with salt.

Yeah, almost all brands of protein bars are filled with all kinds of shit you don't want - alcohol sugar, soy, niggerpenises, etc

Eggs. Take out most of the yolks and there's just nothing more natural or low cal.

If you like seafood protein sources, why not just buy clams, shrimp, crab, lobster, squid, octopus, cuttlefish, or fish that are lower on the food chain? For the same number of calories, clams have more protein, less cholesterol, and no fat at all. Canned clams usually don't cost any more than solid white albacore tuna anyways. Fresh-water fish, especially bottom-feeders like catfish, carp, and tilapia, typically do not have any detectable mercury, and walleye, pike, and bass have much less than salmon and tuna.

I've been eating my stores of tuna and salmon but I don't think that I'll buy any more after I'm finished with them. I go through it fast enough that frozen fish would still be good, and catfish is fucking cheap as hell.

Favorite? A rare slab of beef.

But, I get the most protein from whey/casein (80-100g a day from supplements).
