yes in karate, specially in Kyokushin, you'll have to be able to do them, to both strengthen your punches and hardening your knucles/fingers. in order to do 2 finger pushups you'll have to gradually start up climbing from palms, to knucles to 3 fingers to 2 fingers and then just thumbs, by the time you can do pushups with 2 fingers, you should be able to do some one armed pushups.
