/fit/, I just got this whey protein mix stuff. I've never taken it before, can anyone give me tips on when I should consume it (before or after workouts/running, how long before or after, etc)? Also there's a bunch of other stuff in it that I don't really recognize, is this alright?

Anyway, usually the best time is immediately after weights, and seeing that one is low-carb, its cool to take last thing at night too.

That looks like a pretty solid formula. Whey itself should always be used immediately (Within 30 minutes tops) post work out (PWO), due to whey having the fastest speed of absorption among the different types of protein. It's also nice to see that it contains lots of other good stuff needed for muscle building and repair (Creatine, BCAA's).

The only question is what type of whey protein is it? Hydrolized whey is the best, followed by isolate and concentrate. As long as you have isolate or better, then this is a good product.

Definitely take two scoops, 25g isn't enough, at least 1.5 scoops. With only 1339mg of that other shit combined it's all pretty underdosed and won't make much difference, I wouldn't worry about the other stuff, won't do shit

You do realize that whey protein is just fucking milk protein, right? Taking it is the same thing as drinking something like 4 glasses of milk, but just more convenient. Enjoy your malnutrition.

Milk protein is 20% whey (fast-acting) and 80% casein (slow-acting) protein actually. Whey is generally a by product of cheese making, comes in concentrate and isolate (high quality) forms from the supplement companies, but concentrate is plenty good enough

Wrong, wrong, wrong. As much as I love whey it doesn't just replace food. Milk isn't just protein, there are vitamins (most notably vitamin D and vitamin B12) and other good stuffs.

It's not supposed to replace anything, it's supposed to be a fucking supplement. As in it SUPPLEMENTS your pre-existing diet, it doesn't replace parts of it.
