hey /fit/

i've been thinking about joining a gym such as 24hr Fit or whatever. the only problem is that i'm pretty self-conscious and i don't want to feel like people are staring at me and thinking, "god that guy is skinny." i'm only like 125lbs at 5' 7.5 maybe i should just get some of my own equipment and do it at the house.

Shut the fuck up, if a fatass can grow the balls to go to the gym then you should have no problem.

Everyone there will recognize you are there for the same reason, to better yourself. Nobody will make fun of you or anything most people at gyms are very nice and many will try to help you out if you need it.

i prefer the gym

it gives you inspiration if youre looking for where you can talk with other people and work on the correct form or other stuff.

There's also the advantage of changing the exercise routine whenever you like because everything is available for you. Changing up exercises is important because your CNS and muscle will get used to same routine after every few weeks and you will stop gaining.

Definitely invest in a membership if you have time/money because.

also youre only 125 lbs and a guy. eat more shit like oatmeal, rice, chicken, potatoes, tuna/salmon etc

The Gym was the best fitness decision I ever made. When I started out I was overweight and had no form. Needless to say it was intimidating at first, but the act of being able to just watch others do exercises and routines gives you the knowledge and motivation that doing workouts at home may not offer.

Also, i believe it is true that you are judged when you go to the gym, fuck even I do it. But its hardly more than a glance then back to my routine. Just use what you perceive as people looking at you as motivation to work your ass off so you can look like one of the badasses at your gym.
