I've been on a diet for about a week and have lost like 8 pounds. I'm sure it's more or less impossible for all of that to be fat, so wtf did I lose?
Also, I'm very sure that I didn't fuck up weighing myself (always before breakfast and after taking a piss).

Probably water weight - even if you weighed yourself under moderately similar conditions, depending on your activity and new diet you could very easily have flushed a lot of water out of your system over the past few days.

I'd add that if you're -very- overweight, you can lose 5 or more pounds in a single week. We're talking well into obesity range, though...

Overweight/fat yes, obese no. Minimal activity. Also, I drink way way more water now than before I started my diet but that might not matter.

183cm/88.5kg (which is 6 feet/195 pounds?)
