Wikipedia says an olypmic barbell weighs ~44 lbs, while a standard one weighs ~22 lbs. That's all well and good, but I have no idea what kind my gym has. How do I find this out without asking someone?I'd like to know so I can accurately say how much weight I'm doing instead of just counting the plates.
>How do I find this out without asking someone?Dude, just ask the people at the gym. It's not like it's a dumb question or anything.
You dont know the difference between 44 pounds and 22 pounds?
pick it up. if it's sort of not very heavy, it's probably 22 lbs. if it's pretty heavy, it's probably 44 lbs. Or, stop being a pussy and ask someone.
Grab a 25 pound dumbell in one hand and barbell in the other. You can figure out the rest.
also if they look like the one in the picture, they're olympic barbells
If it's 7 ft and bulky then 45 lbs (like the on in pic)
where can i buy a 44 pound barbell cheap?
