So /fit/, when lifting do you often incorporate exercises that are pretty specific (i.e. curls/calf raises) into your routine or do you only perform exercises that work multiple muscle groups at once?

Seriously, there is nothing wrong with isolating. I do a combination of compounds and isolating exercises. Like: on breast training day, I start with benching (compound), then I do things like flys (isolation). Just use a combination of them. It's not for faggots.
