Hello /fit/. Visiting you from /v/ for some diet advice.
I'm 5'8, 183 lbs. Average build but I kinda have a fat butt.

Recently I stopped drinking soda, and started drinking Propel in its place, about one bottle a day. I've started avoiding high fructose corn syrup and stay the fuck away from aspartame. I tend to graze meals throughout the day, and my regular snackfood is low butter popcorn. I'm going to go to the Rec center and start jogging on a treadmil to get some more exercise, I spend alot of time on the computer but I dont eat junk food.

Would /fit/ happen to have any advice on how to alter my diet to become overall more healthy? Picture not related, though I know someone who would eat one of those nasty things.

I'd eat one of those burgers, it looks like a lot of protein.

Probably not very often though

cutting out the sugar is the big one, good job - but will be best for you to switch out the propel for plain water.

eat way more protein - airpopped popcorn is a good snack for what it is, but microwaved is no good.

you will want to reduce grain/potato intake and increase fruit/veg/real food.

if you have access to a rec center, that means you have access to a weight room. learn how to use it. google 'starting strength' for more information.

Oh shit, those are doughnuts. I didn't look very closely.

Yeah, I'd just take the doughnuts off and eat the burger, although I have a friend who is having problems bulking, so he'd probably put some mayo on and and eat em both

Hmm, good advice. I should of mentioned that the propel I get is the vitamin brand with extra vitamins and minerals.

But yeah. My diet is lacking a little bit on protein and green veggies. Also I heard once olive oil is good for you, and I've always used it since when cooking eggs. Is that true?

By the way, how bad is spam for you? I have it every now and then for spam and egg sandwiches.

spam will not hurt you every now and then, but probably not good to eat any more than once a week at the very most.

you might want to check how much sugar your 'water' has in it... that shit is not healthy at all.

olive oil, and many other vegetable oils, are very good for you and should represent the majority of your fat consumption.

Propel has 4 grams of sugar per 20oz bottle.
