How would the guys who participate in the worlds strongest men competitions do in a fight?
I just have this assumption that they could bear hug you until something snapped.

Who are they fighting? Where? Any rules?

reminds me of a time when I hugged one of my friends so hard that his bones started cracking.
he never lets me hug him anymore...

Wrestling?
MMa?
Street fight?
Boxing?

Just want to know using your combined knowledge how these guys would handle themselves?
>> sage sage
depends on how well they can fight idiot.

If they fought against one with equal technique and so on, they would win because of the 10x more strength they have obviously.

and sage for making stupid threads

I can only imagine.
all they would need to do is get one of their manly, iron grip, hands on their opponent, and...*shudders*

Would a rib shot or a stomach shot hurt someone whose basically a barrel of muscle?

This thread is fucking ridiculous, ovcourse theyd be tough in a fight, but they obviously dont train for that

back in early WSM, they did sumo. Kaz, as imagined, dominated. the only thing worse than being put into a cage with a rabid WSM competitor would be Fedor

A punch to the solar plexus, throat, temples, eyes and under arm would do the trick. The muscle around the solar plexus would transfer the shock of a punch too.

The kind of training they do doesn't cause the muscle soreness bodybuilding training does because few of the exercises they do have a eccentric contraction, which is associated with muscle soreness.

This reminds of why I always put powerlifters over bodybuilders. A bodybuilder is ever-so-carefully carving away at body-fat to show off muscle development without deteriorating the muscles themselves. A powerlifter, on the other hand, is just achieving sheer, brutal power without any sort of aesthetic. It's their herculean performance that makes up for whatever softness other people dislike.

On principle, a strongman would have trouble studying a martial art. A martial art is a tool for a weak man to overcome greater adversity. A strongman would overcome much adversity on his own brute strength, and that is precisily the sort of noise that makes it harder for a strongman to pick up on subtleties of martial arts. Time and time again, it's always the dimunuitive master of technique that trumps a strongman. If there was someway to equip a man with both pinnacle technique and pinnacle strength, he would be unstoppable.

You don't know what the fuck you're talking about either, tripfag. I'm willing to bet you don't practice a martial or compete in any type of strength sport.

Strength athletes usually do quite well when they transition to martial arts, especially grappling oriented ones. They already have a big strength advantage, and know how to train hard and intelligently.

On topic, I think a WSM competitor would probably destroy anyone they fought that wasn't a heavyweight martial artist. Anyone that doesn't think these guys are agile or fast is sorely mistaken, and I'd be interested to see what they could do to on as an NFL lineman.

So yes, I think it quite possible that strongmen could put up a decent fight, and it isn't beyond them to be able to take martial arts.
