/fit/ what olympic barbell/plates/rack/bench would you reccomend?
I would preferably like for there to be a pullup section on the rack. I don't have unlimited space and the floor isn't amazingly durable (so bumper plates maybe?)

get a those flexible mats. don't but them from a fitness place cause they rip you off.

i got my Powertec power rack for 40% off retail brandnew at a sale. also got used olympic barbell and weights. everything cost me about $600 to setup including tack, 200lbs weight set, adjustable dumbbells and bench

Don't buy new weights. You may have to buy a decent PR new but weights you can find all over the place. Just check CL or garage sales. People sell weights all the time dirt cheap because they are a pain in the ass to move.

so is a cage only used for squating or can it be used with a bench?

A cage will let you do just about any exercise you want that involves a barbell.

This guy sells some great bumpers and Olympic lifting bars at the best prices. Do your self a favor and invest in a good set now.

You can put a bench in there too, but the spotter bars may cut your ROM a bit.

It's fucksticks like you who encourage the people at my gym who use the squat cages for bicep curls and shoulder shrugs.

Good cage is essential; it's critical safety equipment if you're working out at home without a spotter. I don't fail my lifts often but when i do being able to set the barbell on the safety bars is the difference between an inconvenience and getting killed.

don't take out your frustrations on anon giving reasonable advice. wth wants to do those in a cage? that's retarded. can't you just ask them to use another barbell outside the cage so you can do real squatz within it's safety?

If only people at my gym were so reasonable as you. I can't even do squats anymore until my doctor says it's ok, but it still pisses me off to see it.

It's always those people who buy a membership and come do full-body curls for a week or so, and then never show up again, too.
