I've started exercising and eating better(5'11 190lbs and looking to lose 20 lbs), and I have a question about sit ups. I do them on my bed cuz it hurts my back on the floor.
Am I cheating myself? and are 35 sit ups at a time weak?

You shouldn't be doing that many sit ups...Do like 25 max CORRECTLY. If you're doing more than that, you're probably cheating in terms of technique and form.

You should be feeling the burn in fewer repetitions.

i would put less emphasis on cruches and ab isolation, and more on the following

vertical pressing
horizontal pressing
vertical pulling
horizontal pulling
hip extension (hyper/deadlift etc)/unilateral hip ext
squatting/unilateral squat

your abs will get plenty developed by doing this
