Ok, /fit/. I ship out to Army BCT at Fort Sill(13B Cannon Crew Member) in about four days. I took my initial PT test, the push-ups and sit-ups were no problem, but I ran the mile in 9:25, which is 45 seconds over the 8:30 standard. What can I do in such a short amount of time to increase my endurance? I have no access to a gym, but to a nice track at the local high school. Should I just run a fuckton? Thanks.

Yea, that's pretty much your fate at this point. You still have 4 days to train, so just do your best.

Meant to say 9:15. I still feel a little silly.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. You won't be able to get 9:15 in 4 days, but the army will be sure to get you in shape in no time.

they'll get you in shape in no-time
if i'm not mistaken, they give you an initial PT test when you arrive at BCT which has lower standards than the full APFT.
by the end of BCT you'll have to be able to pass the APFT, and the drill sergeants will make sure that happens.
