I just found my old weight set that I got for my 14th birthday (almost 12 years ago), which I've never used.

Well I'm a fat fuck right now, and that's gotta change. I'm going to start using my weights, pretty much just barbells... doing curls or whatever the fuck they're called.

How does /fit/ suggest I warm up?

Find out your recommended weight load:
http://www.exrx.net/Testing/WeightLifting/StrengthStandards.html

Walk or light jog for 10 minutes or so. Then work up to your work load with warmup sets. Divide your target work load by 5 to find the increments per group.

For example for a 150 target, the increments will be 30. Start with an empty bar (if olympic it will weigh 45 lbs.)

2 sets of 5 @ 45lb
1 x 5 @ 60
1 x 3 @ 90
1 x 2 @ 120
3 x 5 @ 150

I'll read into what you said a bit more tomorrow. Watching the hockey game/drinking right now.

But this isn't gonna be any hardcore shit. I'm pretty much only going to be doing curls while either standing or sitting in front of the TV.

I haven't been able to find the entire set either. I only have four 2 1/2 pounders and a 10 pounder. I don't even have a fucking bar for these things I don't think.

Anyway, hockey, bbl.
