Dear /fit/,

I was at the gym earlier today cycling at speed 20 (not sure how fast that is in mph)for about 15 minutes, then I got up and went over to do some situps. And suddenly I couldn't see shit and stumbled my way to the bathroom and threw up. I sat there in the bathroom dazed for about 10 minutes until I could see again.

What the fuck happened?

You caught the gay, next time wipe off the machine before using it.

sounds like a case of dehydration and low blood sugar.

Lesson of the Day: No matter how hard you cycle (even > speed 20!), the beer is still going to come out one way or the other.

But srsly,
1) what / when did you eat before working out?
2) how hydrated were you before working out?
3) do you know if you have hypoglycemia [aka naturally low blood sugar]? (i know i do, and it's very important for me to eat something LITTLE (don't want to go full-blast on a sloshing stomach) before i work-out: morning = bagel, lunch = banana, evening = trail mix)

Op here, I'm guessing it was either the eating too little or dehydration. I only had a slice of pizza and bottle of water before working out, and another bottle during the workout.

As for the blood sugar, I'm not too sure. I have had minor dizzy spells in the past from getting up too fast.

The pizza raised your BSL.

High BSL can get you really sick, especially if you have keytones. Which you probably had.

...and the dizzy spells.
You, sir, have diabeetus.

...256 here, sounds like you had adequate water beforehand and a small snack as well (Would take care of any dangerously low blood sugar spikes).

Not quite sure what to tell you, other than good job pushing yourself above and beyond the limit most people quit @ maybe? (not something you'd want to do most of the time imo, unless you like puking :X )

Your scenario reminds me of my first Cross Country States meet. Sure i had trained for 3 months beforehand, and had run a dozen 5k's before that, but nothing could stop what was coming. Even though long-distance coaches tell you to ease into your stride, States was a different kind of beast. Right off the starting line, most of the runners were close to a full-blast sprint. And throughout the race, i don't think anyone ahead of me went much slower than all-out. Besides the whole blood-feeling-like-battery-acid weariness, i didn't feel too bad when i crossed the finish line. But i made the mistake of laying down. OH GOD! after about 2 seconds of laying down, my whole world went Vertigo, and i ended up puking out the last week'sworth of food.
