I'm prone to hemorrhoids when I do ab exercises such as situps. Is there anything I can prevent them? For example, I was wondering if I had bad sit-up posture and was straining the wrong parts of my body.

I usually either do crunches, put my feet under a weight (e.g. couch) and do full sit-ups, or lay on my back and extend/retract my legs, keeping my calves horizontal.

Situps train the wrong parts of your body (assuming you want SIXPAX!!!), instead do crunches only, and DO NOT fixate your feet.

Bending your hip (legs) are primarely powered by the iliopsoas muscles, part of the hip flexors. The Rectus Abdominis dont fasten so far down.

tl:dr do crunches, and maintain good form WITHOUT fixated feet
