I've been at the same summer job for the last 2 years (4 months each year) and it's doing basic manual labour.

While the lifting and carrying give me no trouble at all, after awhile my feet start to get crazy sore.

It really depends on what job I'm doing, seeing as my part of the section does a variety of miscellaneous jobs... if I'm doing something that preoccupies my mind my feet don't get sore but that's hardly the case...

After awhile my feet get really sore, basically where being able to sit down is a saving grace...

tl;dr, what's the best possible way to help sore feet from standing all day? A friend suggesting in-soles but I'm not sure they would work?

Pic related as my job manufactures them...

Your job manufactures lightsabers?

lol no. They manufacture sucker/pony rods for use in the oilfields.

You need to be more specific about the pain. Assuming it is throughout entire sole; on the padding, look at a pair of different shoes. If your shoes are especially old, find a pair of nice new work boots. Insoles can be nice. They can prolong a shoe's life by several months. I have bought them to alleviate leg pain (they absorb shock well), but I imagine they couldn't hurt your feet.

different shoes every other day bring some relief.
yes, try in-soles. There's these rubbery ones that give some suspension.
Why can't you get some seat?

Well, I'm not sure how to really describe the pain but...

I guess it's all throughout the bottom of my foot. If I bend my leg for a bit it will start to feel a bit better, but I think that's just because there's no pressure on the sole of my foot anymore.

My work shoes are pretty old I guess (required to wear steel-toed) so I guess I'll buy some new ones as well as in-soles.

I can't sit-down at work because it's a job that you HAVE to be standing up. You can't do the job while you're sitting down because it's impossible/really awkward.

In-soles and a nice pair of work boots. Just like the one your dad used to have (if he worked manual labor.)

Don't be too stingy when buying them either, get a nice pair if you can afford it. Yes, it's a tax write-off.
