Alright, I don't normally activate the trip code, but I plan on logging this for you guys if there is any interest. It'll be a once, maybe twice a day thing. Why you care? I do have an educational background in Health & Fitness and Strength & Conditioning. I worked as a Personal Trainer in and just out of college. Don't anymore. I never recommend a supplement without first having tried it, so I've tried a good handful.

This is the newest: iSatori MX-LS7. It's an energy enhancer and fat burner. If you want to know whats in it, google it. It costs about $34 for a 15 day supply. You take 3-4 pills a serving, twice a day. It says if you're over 200lbs, maybe take 4. I'm currently 237lbs at 17% BF and cutting down to 10% for June 1st (I'll post routine one day).

So Day 1 Morning: Take 3 on an empty stomach with 8oz water. Go about my day. About 30-35 minutes later I'm driving to work and it feels like an atomic bomb has gone off in my stomach. Its an inferno. I start feeling uncomfortable and a little sick. I have a higher tolerance normally, but this even gives me a slight case of the shakes, very briefly.

I've read that to counter this feeling (with other supps) to eat something, the only thing i have is an Optima meal replacement shake, so I drink it. My appetite is destroyed by the pills and I have little interest in drinking it, but I do anyways.

Doesn't help, I still feel sick to the point where I have to pull over at a McDonalds and go to the bathroom. Feel better.

It's now 1:15 (PST) and I feel fine, no current side effects. Appetite is still completely dead. I feel slightly hungry for a few minutes at a time, but it quickly fades. Will force myself to eat within the hour.

Burps seem to be a side effect and they taste a little bit like raspberry with cayenne pepper and tobacco. They burn a little.

I'll answer questions on this as they develop, and other supplement questions that you have, if you want.

Telling you the product made me pull over and take a dump at a McDonalds is good viral marketing? That it made me sick? I didn't mean nuclear bomb in my stomach as a good thing.

It's about 5pm now and I took the second dose at about 4:30. Coming up on the time it took last time to make me sick. I feel a bit warm in my throat. A touch light headed, but otherwise pretty normal. I'll post again if something drastic happens in the next 10 minutes.

And if you guys aren't interested, then I'll just stop after today. I was just going to be helpful. Logs of new products are sought after pretty heavily, but whatever.

I also have used the following:
CLA - Bulk Nutrition CEE - NO Xplode - Cell Mass - Lypo 6 - Lypo EFX - Lypo 6x - Ephedrine + Caffeine + Aspirin (81mg) - ON 100% Whey Protein - Slim Fast Optima - Pure Protein Bar - Big 100 Bar - Syntha-6 Protein

As you'll notice, those are all different companies. I'm not advertising for anyone and will post by personal experience/review to any of those products

And in response to just eating less, some people have trouble with eating less. Its why people are fat.

I'm a big fan of eating, but I also want to lose the fat faster. Without a supplement, I can do 1-3lbs of fat loss a week. With a supplement, a minimum of 2 (almost always 3) and sometimes a bit more.

Also, with small diets (low cal) having a stimulant based supplement can help keep your metabolism up to avoid crashes.

Sorry so long on the replies.
Cell-Mass. There is nothing wrong with Cell Mass. Its one of the those things, however, that is hard to determine how well its working as its meant to stop your muscles from breaking down, etc. I can say the taste is ok, sort of like spree or sweet-tarts dissolved in water, a little bitter. There are no side effects what so ever. My muscles do feel good after work outs, I'm rarely sore, but I've never had a problem maintaining muscle.

I would recommend it only to people with some extra cash to throw around and those that feel sore and fatigued after a work out frequently. For the average person, they probably don't need it. I lifted for years without. A friend loves it though and says there is a difference. One positive is you have to wait 30min after taking it to eat, so it can help cut down on how much you eat in a day, for me at least.

NO-Xplode to me is the definition of diminishing return. When I first cycled NO-X, I thought it was the shit. I could really feel it, felt pumped and energized. But quickly, by the end of the first container, I had started to get less of a result. NO-X says to take more (2 scoops) and I did for awhile, but that was expensive.

I took some time off from it and came back, felt it again, but for even shorter. Took more time off. It still has an effect, I do feel more energy and better while working out, and I work out long and hard without much problem. I perform better with NO-X, I feel. But the peak is gone.

I would say as a pre-workout sup with creatine, NO-Xplode is good if you can afford it, but follow the cycling directions, and of course drink a lot of water. Two of my workout partners would throw up if they took it too early on an empty stomach, i didn't have that problem. Though that was an old formula that was disgusting to drink. The new CEM3 formula doesnt taste bad and I work out in evenings no problem with the stomach.

So NO-Xplode is one of the better supps out there. NANO-Vapor is also good, and has more active ingredients, so once you get tired of NO-X, you can try NANO, but it is even more expensive, and while it works the same or so, I don't take it.

But straight up NO-X is not a bad supp and I continue to take it as I do feel my energy go up somewhat (it has caffeine) and plus it already has Creatine in it, which is good, and I don't have soreness.

Combined with Cell Mass its supposed to be a good stack and I can say they are working for me - though you can work out without them. These are both just minor improvements, really, but they can make you feel energized and ready to rock.

If you can afford it, go for it, but dont expect some miracle serum. Though the first 2 weeks you do really feel great pumps off the NO-X, or at least I did.

Yes, it's a pretty ambitious goal that is dependent on a tightly controlled diet for a set period of time, limited carbs, limited fats, high proteins, lots of water, working out 6 days a week, etc. It's a pretty spartan life I'm living right now. Today was a "wild" day because I had 1 vodka tonic to celebrate Saint Patties and I had some peanut butter and jelly (no bread).

Normally my meals break down like so:
Meal Replacement Shake
Turkey or Chicken (Approx 300-400 calories worth) with vegetables (100-200 calories worth)
Protein Bar Snack (180cal)
NO-Xplode/Cell Mass

And then dinner is either more chicken or turkey, or tuna, with vegetables or sometimes chicken soup or beef soup, 200-600 calories at dinner.

I aim for a minimum of 1750 and a maximum of 2400 in a day. A good day is right around 2050 or so. If I have to snack, I choose protein bars or something like dried fruit, a few nuts (literally just a few), or maybe wheat thins.

I have pasta once a week, for lunch, exactly 1 cup uncooked. ( I cook it, obviously)

I try to watch out for unnecessary carbs and get most of my carbs through vegetables and the meal replacement stuff.

I was in pretty bad shape after the Holidays fat wise, and was around 255 or so, but some of that was Holiday bloat. So we'll call it 250. I'm now at 237 since January 1. So far, so good.

I'll keep it updated and have a Before Pic and will hopefully have a good after pic come June = )

The first dose really did a number on my stomach. It lasted about 5 or 6 hours before I was hungry. I ate lunch, it was filling. Took the second dose, it wasn't nearly as harsh, eliminated my appetite again for something like 5 hours, then I had some dinner. I was really low on calories at dinner (1200 after dinner was over) so a little bit later I had a vodka tonic (about 90cal) at a bar, then chewed ice to waste the time. I had some peanut butter and jelly (300 maybe), a little cottage cheese (100 or so) a protein bar (180) and some skim milk (90). So that would be almost 800 calories, brining my total to 2000ish.

Not a great day because of how late I ate the last snack, but pure numbers wise ok.

There is just enough interest in this thread for me to continue the log for at least one more day. We'll see how Day 2 goes on the MX-LS7.

Again, any questions on the supps I've used I'm happy to answer. I will post a detailed diet plan soon and after that an outline of how I work out in a day and after that the big picture which is my total system.

It's not really new or inventive, but just a way of thinking about it and keeping track that has finally worked in getting me to stay motivated and on course. I'm off to bed! Good luck on your diets and exercising for the day, East Coasters, as its about time for you guys to wake up.

Hey OP, what are your experiences with various whey protein supplements? Which one is a good one? I bought a whey protein supplement recently and it seems to be working fine for me, but I might get a different one the next time I buy.

Why would I be talking about products from multiple companies? And look at the reviews, I'm not telling you to buy any of them, but whatever.

The two I've used most are Optimum Nutritions 100% Gold Standard Whey Protein or whatever the name is and BSNs Syntha-6, which is a blended protein.

I've tried some generic protein powders and other brands, and they were all fine for the most part. Trader Joe's brand was gritty and didn't have enough protein, I didn't like that.

IsoPure makes a fruit based protein drink that tastes OK, but makes your mouth feel dry and is expensive (sold by the bottle).

ON Gold Standard is usually the best bet for your money, in my opinion. Good amount of protein in it and the taste is generally good. I have Chocolate right now and its kind of weak tasting, but not bad. Its just your standard Whey Protein, and price is good. But if your happy with your protein, you don't need to switch (Compare the labels, see Calories/Carbs/Protein and pick the best)

The Syntha6 has Whey and cassein in it, and is very thick and probably the best tasting protein I've ever had. I had a sampler pack and all the flavors were great. There is Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, and a coffee one that is Cappucino or Espresso or something, and that one is good too.

I bought Strawberry and used it as a night time snack as Cassein is slow digesting and is often recommended as a night time thing to keep your body from breaking down muscle fiber for food at night. Syntha has more calories, but again, blended protein not whey.

If you want a Cassein protein, or something to use as a low cal filling snack drink, I definitely recommend Syntha just based on taste. Its best with skim milk, instead of water. But the protein content is high and the taste is the best. Downside, like all things BSN, is a slightly higher price.
