The diet shit doesn't work for some people. Most of mine was hormonal and thus I could do nothing but BAWWWWWW through my teenage years. Diet had no impact on my skin from either extreme.
However, there are some things that affect everyone. Water is always good for your skin, it helps heal and move that icky shit out of your body. Don't rest your head on your hands or anything, just refrain from touching your face at all. Wash your face twice daily, three or more times if you have super-fucking oily skin. Over-washing will make you over-produce oil, thus clogging your pores and giving you a right, good "Fuck you." When my skin was real bad, I started using medicated acne soap shit, just the normal Rite Aid brand, to control oil in the morning and night. It helped considerably.
And another bit of advice:
Nearly everyone has to deal with acne at one point. Most people don't even give a fuck unless you have the horror-story acne, the type of stuff that looks like bruising or that you sleep with a bacon pillow. Hell, my girlfriend didn't really give a shit that I had it. I was even pretty popular with girls. It's not that big of a deal, there's just a big self-esteem issue with it.
