CORE Anonymous
CORE, motherfuckers.
I need some exercises to improve/strengthen my core..

I'm currently doing:
Slow crunches/side crunches on fitness ball (those big plastic balls filled with air),
Bridge / Side Bridge,
And other various ab exercises..

But I feel like it's not enough, suggestions, /fit/?

the purpose of the core is to balance and stabilize your body. therefore, i prefer exercises that work the core as a balancing and stabilizing force. i.e., big compound barbell exercises. squats, deadlifts, ESPECIALLY presses, shit like that. and a few BW exercises like press-ups and dips and chins.

that's the thing, they're the least complicated exercises out there. they're all of the "pick up this heavy thing" "lift this heavy thing over your head" "put this heavy thing on your back and squat down" ilk

OVERHEAD SQUATZ, back squatz, front squatz, dead lifts, stiff leg dead lifts, good mornings, snatches, clean and jerk, jerks, standing military press.
If you seriously want to build a stronger core when your little ab exercises aren't enough, step up to something that will do a whole lot more then strengthen your abs.

Maybe you don't realize it but your LOWER BACK IS PART OF YOUR CORE. If you have a weak lower back and strong abs, seriously you aren't doing your self a favor.

Your body exists as WHOLE, so work out the WHOLE fucking thing.

Core synergies, for me at least, is a much more instense core video than ab ripper. Ab ripper is for.. abs. I did CS for the first time the other night and got annihilated. My back, stomach, sides, everything was sore as hell the next day. Actually Im still sore. The whole spare tire got worked the fuck out.
