Cross-post from /r9k/.

Hey /fit/.

At the tender age of twenty going on twenty-one, I seem to be going bald. Quite badly. Because I wear my hair long, it is less noticable, but all the more of a problem. In the chart to the left, for example, I would likely be II A if I wore my hair shorter.

That said, do any of you know what I can do about it? Are there any remedies that actually work, or am I stuck shelling out 30 bucks a month for a prescription for as long as I care to have my hair?

While we're at it, anyone who can relate to the situation?

This shampoo worked for a few years for me, but the baldness gene is too strong.

Oh, and if you think your long hair is hiding it, you're dead wrong. It makes it more noticeable. When people see a bald spot underneath some hair covering it up, they're more inclined to laugh at you/behind your back. Take it from a fellow balding Anon, cutting it short is the best thing you can do. Less effort to style and less worry about it coming undone. Now style-wise, there's three main options. 1) Shave it all off. 2) Get a close cut like Matt Lauer did. 3) If you're adventurous, get a mohawk or race strip like Chuck Liddell.

When my hairline started receding (at 19) I just shaved it all off. Never been happier with my hair.

Go shaved or buzzed OP. It's the smart thing.
