Hey guys, got a question.

Been sick the whole week, and have not been able to do my regular cadio/weight lifting routine.

1.What is a good way to deal with not working out?

2. I feel like i am losing progress from a week off, isd this true or am I being paranoid?

Well, I'm not an expert but if your sick don't you not eat as much so you wont get really fat? Also, if your sick you shouldn't at all push yourself just rest.

If you are under a defecit of your BMR you will still be losing weight. If you have been in this routine for a while, take it as a good thing. Your body gets time to fully repair itself rather than continually overtraining. Stick to protein and good fats, dont go overboard on carbs, go for a walk blah blah blah.

I can't run because of bad knees, I usually swim for cardio. I have been doing that for about a 2 months
Will it affect my cadio if I take this week off?

What it essentially boils down to is calories in vs calories out. If you are using more than you are taking in, you will be losing weight. Losing weight comes down to mainly diet, i'd probably say imo its 70% diet, 30% exercise in order of importance. Of course not every calorie is equal, i'm not going to go into it because its been posted too many times.

Last week i hurt my knee to the extent of finding walking extremely painful, i got some painkillers and laid off the elliptical for a week. Guess what? I was still losing weight. Granted i switched to walking, but nonetheless i was still losing weight because i was burning more than i was taking in.

I've never done swimming as a form of cardio, if it keeps you active and you enjoy it then by all means swim all you want.

It is pretty much the only cardio I can do, doctors said. I do enjoy it though, especially in the Florida heat. I have heard it is great cardio, and seems to be working.
