/fit/, I suppose you can say I've been starving myself the past month. Late January, I got sick and lost about three lb, so I decided to go on a diet and lose more. I started at 196.2, and at the moment, I'm 171.8. The first few days I noticed that I was eating much less, especially after being sick and not being hungry, and I just haven't been getting really hungry at all. At breakfast, I eat about 140-170 calories, about 200 at lunch, and then 350-400 at dinner. It changes, but it's usually just that much.

But I've read here that my metabolism is now really fucked up. That I won't lose weight because my body will now burn less calories. I want to eat more (I do eat healthy foods now, by the way), but I'm scared to at this point. Why? Because my body will take a good while to adjust to eating more again, and I may just gain weight from that. I'm too afraid to do this... What do I do, /fit/?

Ramp up calories gradually, maybe 50 cals a day, at the same time ramp up exercise to compensate, until 1800-2100 cals reached for a dude or 1400-1700 for a chick.

To lose fat you want a small calorie deficit with lots of cardio.

If you're a dude and not fully grown, start eating properly nao. If you're a chick on the other hand... well society doesn't think less of women for being small so relax.

Still, though - up your calories, since you're small maybe 1600 is ok, but do 30-45 mins of fat burning cardio 3x a week.

Once you reach target weight you can up your cals or lower exercise intensity. But yeah life's a bitch and you have to constantly monitor your body.

I am a male. I eat a multivitamin everyday, but I dunno if that really helps. I want to up my calories, but as I said, I'm afraid to do so because I might just gain weight from trying to become normal again.

Also, as I am fat, I have trouble running on my treadmill, which is why I usually do 45-50 min of walking (machine says I do about 3 miles).
