if you're willing to run/swim 3 hours a day, cut back a bit on that and spend the time planning out your workout and the involved processes that go with it (such as setting out your entire menu for the week, knowing exactly how many calories you'll be eating and then later burning).
at the end of the day, a lot of it's still voodoo science, but putting in the work beforehand means you're more likely to follow through on the plan later at the very least (and much of it is likely going to be successful).
hollywood = bullshit. eat well, work out well, and you'll see results.
