What to eat after a workout? Anon
/fit/ - I finally got my fat ass off the sofa and joined a gym this week -it feels fucking fantastic t to be doing something about my weight instead of just sitting at home feeling depressed about it. I finish work at 7 and I generally go to the gym from 8:00 - 9:00, but when I come home I'm fucking starving. Firstly, is it going to fuck things up if I'm eating so late at night? And secondly, what can I eat that isn't going to fuck up the good work I'm doing in the gym? Pic unrelated.

Assuming you eat at least 4 times before you go to the gym, you are ok. You aren't eating 1 meal a day, are you?

You should be eating some slow digesting protein to keep your metabolism high after the gym at those times.

Cottage cheese works.

OP Here - yeah, I'm eating about 3 or 4 small meals a day before I go to the gym - after I got back from the gym today I drank some whey powder mixed in water, and ate an apple and a can of tuna - is there something I should be eating instead?

from my understanding, your body burns x amt of calorie a day. those calories are burnt whether you're awake or asleep. more if you exercise.

point is, doesn't matter if you're awake or asleep, eat late or early, the same amount will be burnt.
