I AM FUCKING SICK AND TIRED OF LOOKING LIKE THIS. I'm even on prescription pills and cream for this. The picture makes it look worse than it actually is, but still. Any advice?

OP here; for reference, I'm taking minocyclin pills and using clindoxyl gel.

Yeah, that's faggotry in a nutshell. You get better results faster from the sodium hydroxide in your kitchen cabinet.

Has anyone else in your family experienced this before?

Any suggestions for what I should be taking, then?

You're just dying to scar someone's face, aren't you?
>> Anonymous
>>25573

One of my cousins had it worse than this. I think I've heard he "just grew out of it", but I should ask.
>> Red !KV/D4sCHBI
Yeah, old are you? If you're still underage b& it could go away in a few years. Some folk are just hit with unlucky genetics.
Otherwise, eat a lot of citrus fruit and drink a TON of water, and keep your face as clean as possible, without overwashing. Moisturize too, doesn't matter how gay it sounds, moisturizer keeps your skin from getting so oily and clogged.

18 and a couple months. Good advice, though. Thanks. Anything else diet-related I should try? And what constitutes overwashing?
>> Hammerknife !7ITukp3Pj2
>>25581

Oh yes.

To OP: Seriously just go to a dermatologist and take accutane.
>> Hammerknife !7ITukp3Pj2

Washing more than twice a day. Morning with facial soap and a deep pore cleanser, at night with just the facial soap. Don't touch your face for the entire day otherwise.

Hey, no problem, I had bad acne as a kid m'self. Try to cut as much salt and junkfood out of your diet as possible. Just generally eating healthy will promote better skin, but I find citrus fruits do the best work.
And what Hammerknife said, more than twice a day. And I assumed you had been to a dermatologist, but if you hadn't then yes, do that as well if you can.

Will do. What facial soap and pore cleanser should I use in terms of active ingredients?

quick tips
change pillow cases often. im betting you're a lazy faggot who leaves his sheets on for weeks at a time or something. some people who are acne prone only sleep on each side once before changing it. just wash them with your clothes. (obviously you will have to invest in a weeks worth of pillowcases at least)

be gentle as hell.
DONT scrub.
be gentle as hell when cleaning/applying topicals
take your vitamins if you have a bad diet. zinc, vitamins e/c/b help acne by reducing inflammation and they promote healing

Salicylic acid for the soap, benozyl peroxide for the cleanser.

>>25614
I've started doing that, yeah. Especially in terms of greasy desserts. What about dairy products?
>> Red !KV/D4sCHBI
>>25625
I've gone both dairy and non-dairy and never noticed a difference, but since everyone's different you never know.
>> Guil

This is precisely why people never get over acne. Trying too hard to get rid of it.

Salicylic will irritate too much in conjunction with the BP

seriously fuck this

acne.org
spend an hour on it and look around at all the product revies, look at some treatments and what worked for people with similar skin

post this image on there and you'll likely get some suggestions

fuck even try "the regimen" and you may be fine.

I had the cleanser and mosturizer from the regimen, that's seriously great stuff. So easy on the skin and etc.

I was using a cleanser with little things in it before that scratched my skin and I thought "well this scrapes dead skin away, thats good" and never saw real improvement...

I switched to this cleanser and mosturizer and it's fucking SILKY. The cleanser lathers like no other I've ever dealt with, it's amazingly smooth while being lathery to get rid of shit on your skin.

I spend 10 seconds max on my entire face with the cleanser, twice a day. I apply the BP and Mosturizer and now the only thing I have left on my face is some pigmentation from old marks.

For serious, acne.org is all that need be said but I'm being nice

also always use 2.5% strength benozyl peroxide

Different things can set off acne. I still have bad outbreaks, and I'm almost 21. there are hundreds of theories as to why you get acne, but its different for each person.

If you have sensitive skin, try not shaving for a week, and see if it goes away. The type of soap you use may be causing irritation, certain chemicals in many soaps either overdry the skin, or cause an outbreak. If you sweat overmuch, this can cause it in which case sit in a sauna once in a while and avoid laying your face on your hands or arms.

Sometimes it's dietary. I've known people who get set off weird things including pineapple, chocolate, pumpernickel bread, a certain brand of ice cream, and lobster.

basically experiment with your lifestyle: diet, when you exercise, how you wash. If you still don't clear up, or are too lazy to experiment, go see a dermatologist.

accutane is the ONLY thing that worked for me.
Just make sure to take plenty of Calcium pills with it, accutane makes calcium absorption bad.

to the op: are you stressed often/do you eat fast food a lot?

But make sure it's calcium with magnesium... calcium alone is kinda worthless.

as a matter of fact, scientists have proven the only way to get pimples from their food is if they literally rub the food on their face.

i used to have a mild acne problem that wouldnt go away with antibiotics... so they put me on accutane. It worked great but the first month or so was hell because it dries the shit out of everything on your face. I got nose bleeds and my lips were chapped to hell. Its a five month process. BUT THE ACNE'S GONE FOREVER.

That's actually not true for everyone. Some people ARE affected by what goes in them. Not everyone, but some.

No need to worry, I'm Canadian too. And I'm going to a dermatologist next week. I'll ask about Accutane, since everyone mentions it.

>> The acne buster !wdYwhueFGY
>>25826
you will get blood tests done before and while youre on it once just to make sure it isnt fucking with your liver, but no worries there either, if something is wrong you just dont take it, you have nothing to worry about, dermatologists love giving acutane because it is pretty much a cure all for any acne anywhere on the body
>> The acne buster !wdYwhueFGY
>>25824
if youre talking about the food, no, its literally impossible for food to affect your skin from the inside, like someone else said you have to rub it on you if you want acne, also i suppose indirectly it could if you eat like a madman, get fat, and then start sweating more and disrupting your skin's equilibrium

laser treatment. I took pills, they worked for a while, then the side effects fucked me up and I couldn't take them anymore. I started getting my face zapped; it hurts like a bitch but I've never been more clear in my life.
>> The acne buster !wdYwhueFGY
>>25843
this is true, op looks like he is going to have major scarring even after the acne is gone so lasers may be the only way to clear that shit, ive never had it done and dont really know much about it other than seeing it on the news a while ago, seen some before and after pictures and was impressed, only costs a few hundred dollars too

I happen to have a card of the place where I go. The website is www.advdermatology.com and I get something called a "PDT." They have another less painful procedure, but it's less effective than the one I take. It also makes your skin ultra-sensitive to sunlight for about two days, but that's no big deal for me.

Noted. I can probably find a place like that around here. But I'll try Accutane first.
Last post for the night.

Take accutane. I was on minocyclin for about a month and it didn't help. Same with the clindoxyl gel, slightly helped but very slightly.

Although I didn't look as bad as you (no offense), I did look terrible. I'm going into my 3rd month of accutane, and my face is a lot clearer than before.

Only flaw with accutane IMO is that it's somewhat expensive (I get it for $60 for 40 pills, but some places sell it for hundreds), and the side effects are annoying. My side effects are drowsiness and very dry skin.
