so i learned something of mild interest to all the people who are on this board because they're xbox hueg and want to get skinny. apparently the total number of fat cells in one's body is set at the age of about 3 - 4 years old. these fat cells themselves swell and contract as you gain or lose weight, but their total number stays constant. this is the reason that some people have a great amount of difficulty losing weight, because their total number of fat cells is high because they were chubby children and (this is the important part) this is why lipposuction is a very effective weight loss technique for this class of overweight individuals, because it is the only method that actually decreases the number of fat cells in the body.

also, for the lols, it is a good targeted fat reduction method

>But Spaulding did find that young obese people add twice as many fat cells each year as others, on average. "This could be part of the reason it's so hard to keep weight off," Spaulding says.

errr coudln't they could be developing cells because they are eating so much?

I was a blob of a baby but for the rest of my life i've been naturally skinny as hell, with little to no effort.

No, (not OP btw). The number of fat cells you have stops really increasing once you get to around 4 years old.

I was a huge and fat baby.
Right now my BMI is 21.

I was a skinny as fuck baby and kid. Now I'm xbox hueg.

so WHAT ABOUT THAT???

Fat cells can divide throughout your lifetime. However, they cannot "die." The only way to remove fatty tissue is to liposuction it out (chainsaws work as well, I'm told). Other than that you can only deflate it -- a method which leaves you susceptible to future fat gains.

So Liposuction is an actual good way to lose weight? What ever happened to hard work?
>> Anonymous
>>127885
No, it's a dangerous way to lose fat.
>> Anonymous
>>127885

No, it isn't. It's a good way to temporarily reduce weight and then watch, distraught, as it rapidly climbs back onto you because you never learned to do hard work.

It's a good way to immediately reduce bodyfat% and then keep it off because you just spent $7000 on a medical procedure and dont want to do it again, nor did you want to destroy your body doing by cardio as a 300 pounder.

i was obese till i was like 15, am very skinny now

Lots of lardasses lose insane amounts of fat with a gastric bypass. Doesn't involve removing any fat cells.

THIS THREAD IS STUPID. WE ALL ALREADY KNOW THAT GENETICS HAS A PART IN THE WAY OUR BODY LOSES/GAIN FAT/MUSCLE AND WE ALREADY KNOW THAT (EXCEPT IN EXTREME CASES) IT CAN BE OVERCOME BY GOOD DIET AND EXERCISE. IT MIGHT JUST BE HARDER FOR SOME THAN OTHERS. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THERE IS CONFLICT.
