Seriously? Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) just drags out your withdrawal from a matter of weeks to a matter of months. Also, most claims NRT companies make about their successful quit rates are from biased surveys. Most unbiased studies show that using NRTs actually result in a LOWER successful quit rate than cold turkey.
Take it from me. I used to smoke a pack a day. Just do it cold turkey. Your withdrawal will last about as long as the flu, and it'll be about as painful as the flu. But know that taking in ANY more nicotine at any point will just make it last far longer than it needs to.
Day 1 sucks. Day 2 is worse. Day 3 will be the worst day of your life. Then it gets better. Days 4-7 suck a lot. Days 8-14 are somewhat painful. By week 3 and week 4, you aren't in constant pain, but you'll still crave. By month 2 and month 3, you'll forget you were ever a smoker.
