Hey /fit/ I have 2 matters I want your advice on:

1.) After nearly a full year's hiatus from the gym coupled with me putting back on the 12 kilo's I lost during training I've decided to get back into fitness. Basically my plan of attack is; I want to cut away all my fat (last check I was 86kg and 181cm) and get down to a healthy bf level (10% or under would be ideal) then I want to start functional fitness training like you see at crossfit.com and gymjones.com etc. What's the best way to go about cutting properly? Pointers to a plan would be greatly appreciated and I'm also thinking I would need to work back up to my original fitness level (decent) before I start hitting Crossfit/Gym Jones workouts. What should I do to ready myself for that kind of pain?

2.) I often getting a throbbing almost heart-beat like sensation in my knees (mostly left one) when i sit down or bend it. What is this and what can I do to fix it? (I've bought some glucosamine if that's any good).

Thanks in advance for any help.

pic related: the fucking dream.

Gotta train that functional shit baby. Why you would ever want to do that is beyond me, but whatever.

Tips on cutting: eat less, and spread it out over more meals, like 6-8. Also, look up some HIIT. It's hard as hel, but worth it.

No idea about your knees

I like the idea of walking into a gym and being able to utterly destroy the people who fap over how good their benchpress is when in a real fitness test I would destroy then. Thanks for the ideas.

lol
OP
you would be an AWESOME FIT for crossfit!
lets go over the checklist

1. a gym 'has been' (ie. wash-up)
2. never an athlete in the 1st place
3. possess dilusions of "FUNCTION FITNESS" OMG
4. over weight
5. signifcant orthopedic issues BEFORE EVEN STARTING TO TRAIN

lulz

HURRR DURRR, I R "REAL" FITNESS.

Fucking tool, there really isn't a "real" fitness. It's all goals and what you wish to achieve. Apparently you want to be a skinny, weak bitch, and be able to run slowly for a long time.

this should be stickied as a 'crossfit qualification checklist'

Fucking christ, you guys must be the stupidest motherfucking pieces of dung to ever walk the earth. Even for 4chan troll standards, you guys never cease to amaze me.

You say fitness is all about goals, yet you wanna be a skinny fuck unless you're only into powerlifting? You do know that this guy posted the same picture you all fap over as a goal picture, right?

You do know that you all really just wanna look like an athlete anyway? Stop acting like tough motherfuckers, you all know you are fucking pussies compared to every single one, including the chicks, at gym jones.

Stupid narrow minded fucks. You all know you're fat, and you'll always be.

tl;dr: stupid wannabe powerlifters makes me rage.

please refer to the above mentioned Crossfit checklist, #3. enjoy your hubris.

altho i should have made it clearer that # 3 also includes "inherent elitism"

Baw haw haw, just go do some jogging, pussy.

i'm pretty sure the people at gymjones are exceptional athletes, black belts in BJJ, MMA title holders, and piolet d'or winners

i have to give you credit, as this is an argument style only found on /fit/

not only is it ad hominem, but its ad hominem based on MADE UP SHIT

you literally lack any ability to make a counterpoint to our discussion, so you simply A. use character attacks
B. MAKE UP stuff about me to even USE for your character attacks all in effort to somehow 'debase' my Crossfit Checklist

FYI, you massively backed point 3. but you are correct, i should add in another point about 'believe Crossfit is the best ever, militantly drink the Kool-Aid, and viciously troll all those who also dont have Jihadi-like conviction to the Coach, Crossfit, and Kettlebells.

well done

don't know if you were talking about crossfit or not, but certainly gymjones incorporates crossfit ideals nonetheless

i do ring dips, does that make me crossfit?
i OL lift, does that make me crossfit?
i do metabolic complex compound BB or KB lifts for conditioning, does that make me crossfit? (generaly FYI....i never learned any of that from CF, they also do it too.)

id imagine gym jones practice the Bruce Lee theory of 'taking what works, throwing away what doesnt' and i bet they do it exponentially better than CF. Gym jones ARE actual athletes. which (if you refer to my list) exactly what that style of fitness is geared for and best helps.

why do all threads asking for advice turn into flamewars? who gives a shit wether the dude is doing his workouts differently to you, he just asked for tips. god you fuckers are boring bastards.

I see your point, but you have quite the negative attitude towards crossfit (whether it deserves it or not)
>> Anonymous
>>409569

wtf I don't even do crossfit at all, kinda hard for me to be elitist.

stupid cunt.
>> Anonymous
>>409575

I'm pretty sure you can find it on /b/ or the interwebz in general.
>> Anonymous
>>409598

yep, that actually does make you crossfit, if you follow their philosophy instead of their daily workout thing.
>> Anonymous
>>409633

i know gymjones used to follow crossfit exclusively, but now they (mark twight) tapered off and does his own thing, he notes that athletes must train long to go long and crossfit doesn't do that. (i think once in the past year I saw a 10+km run)

at this point I see crossfit as crossfit and gymjones as gymjones, sure they are similar but they have extreme differences. kind of like apes vs humans, 98% alike or something but the last 2% that makes them totally different
>> Anonymous
I thougt gymjones was pretty hardcore, until I realized that a handful of soccer-moms train there.
>> Anonymous
>>409669

i don't get it? the women that train there are either: MMA fighters, Mark Twight's Wife (Lisa) or BJJ Instructors, or climbers.

Even if soccer moms trained there, who cares? Sure if you read all the knowledge sections you would find that, that place isn't for normal folks. It's got Twight's elitist attitude built in, so anyone who trains there is going to be a badass regardless of who they are.
>> Anonymous
>>409673
Elitist attitude is great, but it isn't fucking elitist if it doesn't exclude women.

>so anyone who trains there is going to be a badass regardless of who they are.

rofl, those whores aren't fucking badass.
I can imagine them being extremely over confident though. Fucking roaring all over the place acting like hardcore retards.

Haha, it's fucking worth having women there just for a laugh.
>> Anonymous
>>409677

elitist attitude doesn't mean women aren't allowed, Mark Twight doesn't care about gender because he knows that females can be just as good or even better than males at any specific event (barring physiological differences).

You would only understand this if you read Twight's books, but you probably didn't so you can go back to your gold's gym and talk to your male counter-parts. You're just afraid a female would slam you in anything aren't you?

What I'm afraid of is fucking enraged, frothing at the mouth soccer moms who run around everywhere acting like they own everything.
They deserve a good punch to the face to let them know who's the boss.

>you can go back to your gold's gym

Gold's gym? I train in a fucking ice cold, rotten cellar in fucking Norway bro.
That's right, I'm a fucking viking.

it MUST be Crossfit

so that means everyone here is, deep in their heart, crossfags. (except the homo machine crowd)
