anyone into meditation? does it help your mental well being or crock of shit? I want to learn but can't seem to clear my head. halp

Tumo meditation as worked for me fine, the first time i got colds but eventually it came pretty nice.

I've always had trouble clearing my head. If I were a kid today, I'm sure I'd be diagnosed with some combination of OCD and Asperger's. Anyway, I often meditate for 10-20 minutes before going to bed each night. Like other posters say, I focus on my breathing, then every other thought or point of focus sort of fades out.

When meditation doesn't work, and my thoughts overwhelm me, I smoke weed. If my brain was a chalkboard with thoughts written on it, meditation is an eraser, and weed is a garden hose.

It's all about busying the annoying "jumpy" part of the mind that hops uncontrollably from one thought to another so you can think clearly. You can do it with anything, breathing, music/sounds, driving, even video games. Just takes a little practice.

try take some plain codeine before you try, like 90-130mg, it's not particularly strong but does help to slow down a racing mind and relax you for doing these sort of things.
