can /fit/ recommend exercises that can prepare me for parkour/freerunning

at the same time, what is the best way to build cardiac endurance [ie. pacing for a jog, etc etc]

If you want to get good at something, then do it a lot.

Starting parkour out of the blue is a VERY bad idea and you could seriously hurt yourself if you have no idea what you're doing. And no, watching all the David Belle and Cyril Raffaeli videos ad nauseam doesn't count. Find a club in your general area and ask them if they can show you the basics.

If you still want to try it without help, then go ahead, it's your body and as such it's your prerogative to fuck it up if you choose to do so. Do a lot of pushups, squats and dips. Run everywhere you'd usually walk. Run, don't jog. Find walls that aren't tall enough that you'd kill yourself if you fell down. Accidents can and will happen when you're doing parkour, it is a fucking dangerous activity.
