okay /fit/, i would like to lose weight, i am five feet tall, 150 lbs, my right leg was screwed up in a car accident so i lost 3/4 of it's muscle tissue, and my left leg is overly miscular to make up for it, i'm mainly concerned about my tummy back and arms because of this fact, also, the leg thing makes exercise difficult, and i'm an asthmatic. what should i do?

you can use those elliptical trainers. They are pretty easy on the breathing and even if one leg is weaker, you can just compensate using your arms

Hey OP,

Serious advice:

Go to your doctor and have him/her refer you to a physiotherapist.

I take care of my dad who is type 2 diabetic, and his right ankle is severely disfigured as a complication of the disease.

I take him to a physiotherapist where he is given an exercise routine that I help him out with. Basic aerobics, streches...etc.

Once you're there tell them that you want a custom fitness plan that takes into account your current physical limitations.

that sucks ass. im telling you there is no easy way around losing muscle mass. a year and a half ago i lost a TON of muscle mass in my left bicep and tricep (30% and 50% respectively) i used to be able to do twenty chin ups no problem and now im still working on doing two. sucks shit but you just gotta keep working at it.

my advice for YOU would be to take things slow as hell. dont try to throw yourself into a work out. but if you really want to work out your calf do calf raises while holding a small weight.

do say 5 sets of 10 repetitions every day for a few weeks, see how you feel.

ok, try doing it now- did it work? just rest your hands on a wall+desk as you go down and come up, put as little weight as you can on your leg.

it might not look like the picture, since youre leaning back a bit, but any start is a good start.

mind you- most people with two good legs cant do them, so you wont be cranking out reps overnight. (although you can prob do one with the other leg)
