How many calories do you eat motherfucker?

And in what percentage? Eat less carbs and more protien, and eat 2500 cals per day and you'll lose that 20lbs in a month.

2500? are you shitting me? isnt the recommended daily around 1700? and why the fuck would eating MORE calories = fat lose?
>> Anonymous
>>155304
OP here. like 250ish in the morning, ~500-700ish for lunch, a 250 candy bar for afternoon energy before workout, and a 300ish dinner, so around 1500ish?

I hope to god you're a troll because otherwise you're just stupid. Less than -20% of your necessary caloric intake to maintain body weight will cause your metabolism to shut down, and you will end up gaining all the weight back AND you will burn muscle instead of fat.

You'll look like shit. You're eating too little. Either listen to advice or fuck off and be a fattie forever.

Metabolism does not work that way, fucklips.

>>155311

Bump up the total calories and lose the candy bar. No simple sugars and add more protien.

You are currently eating too little to maintain your metabolism.

>>155318

Yes it does, assface. You body ADJUSTS to a sudden intense drop in calories, and when you maintain said drop for a period of time it assumes you are starving and starts converting all your calories to fat.

At 6'3" you should never be dropping below 2000 cals per day, even when dieting.

OP here, sorry i am kind of a nub at this.

So, eating more calories is better for dieting? Also, does my calorie lose at the gym sound okay? Do I want to lose more? Less?

dude 193lbs at 6'3 is skinny. people have no concept of height:bodyweight ratios.

thats like an average height person weighting about 145lbs. and you wanna lose 20lbs. you will look like a pow camp prisoner

Hay guise, im 6'5 and i want a body like bruce lee, i hurd bruce lee was 135lbs so i need to lose 120lbs preferably fast
>> Anonymous
>>155338
actually the reason i want to lose weight is because most of it flub. i have no muscle tone =(
>> Anonymous
>>155307
if the extra cals are good fats and protein, then this is true
>> Anonymous
>>155338
and also because i was originally 180, then discovered energy drinks, had them every single day for like a year, and gained 20lbs, hence now i want to lose.

tell that to christian bale who lost a shit ton of weight only eating half his required cals in tofu and chewing sugarless gum.
>> Anonymous
>>155356
LOL at anyone who would wanna look like christian bale in the machinist. he should be the perfect example of WHY eating nothing is bad.
>> Anonymous
>>155356
yeah. your metabolism won't "shut down" unless you go for a drastic crash diet and try to not eat anything. you'll have an active metabolism as long as your physically active and maintain at enough calories with good proteins and fats to get you through your daily routines without crashing.

OP here. Can anyone help me out with my initial question?

450-500 calories on the elliptical ideal for losing 20lbs? y/n?
>> Anonymous
>>155373
depends on your intake
>> Anonymous
>>155368
thats not the point. the point is that reducing your calories doesn't mean your metabolism will shut down. you won't look like a crack addict unless you lose too much weight like he did in that movie.

OH MY FUCK YOU ARE SO INCORRECT I RAGE.

I'm an ex-fucking-anorexic, and yes, even eating >500 below your recommended goddamn intake WILL fuck up your metabolism if you're at it long enough! Your body gets used to that shit, you retarded asslicking cuntscab.

Now kindly gtfo and let the people who know what the hell they're talking about do their jobs.

here you can truly see a rare case of MANorexia

You don't seem to understand the process of weight loss.

It is completely complacent onto the process of you having a calorie deficit. A pound of fat is 3500 calories, so you must create a deficit of 3500 calories to lose a pound of fat.

If you are eating slightly more than you are burning throughout the day+exercising off, you'll never lose any fat, no matter how much exercising you do. In contrast, you can lose weight without ever exercising.

But you must balance this out by not starving yourself, and allowing muscle to be used as energy.

tl:dr We can't tell you how your body works.

okay, lets saying im eating 1500 calories a day. losing 400-500 at the gym good for losing 20lbs?

AND

okay, lets saying im eating 2000-2500 calories a day. losing 400-500 at the gym good for losing 20lbs?

>>155413
now THATS drastic. getting 1000 cals at the weight is a problem. bump it up and SQUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTZZZZZZZZZZZ

Matters how strong your metabolism is and how many calories you burn throughout the day.

1500 is too low for a male your size, you'll lose muscle.

also guys the key isn't fucking eating as little as possible.

its about eating as MUCH as possible, and having a high metabolism and activity level to still burn through it. THAT produces a good physique.

you increase your metabolism by the following:
having your digestion work more (frequent meals)
eating more protein
more fibre and veggies and shit
HAVING MORE MUSCLE (huge factor)
cardio ( but only DURING cardio)
weightlifting (during AND up to 2 days after)

people trying to lose weight should focus more on lifting weights. but you cant lift weights all the time you need your muscles to heal. so then do cardio.

if you just do cardio, thats only 20 - 60 minutes out of the day with an elevated metabolism, AND with a caloric deficit your body will EAT your muscles for cardio energy if you dont train and stimulate them (body has no need to keep them). less muscle is less cals burned. cardio is also increase cortisol, stress hormone, which makes you gain weight too.

while you CAN lose weight doing only cardio. your body will have no muscle and look like shit, and its alot harder than if you just lifted your ass off and did cardio on the side.

Wow... if you lose 20lbs you'll look positively starved.

I'm 31, 6'3", 250lbs. I need to cut about 20-30lbs to get back to my 10-12% BF that I used to have... if I weighed 197 I'd look like a pussy.
>> Anonymous
>>155421
another point to add, the MORE you do a certain cardio exercise, the LESS calories your body burns doing it, because it adapts to be more efficient at it.

this is not true with weightlifting, so long as you progress in lbs on the bar.

>>155413

For the love of god, eat at least 2500 per day. That'll bring your total down to 2000 per day which is less than you need for weight loss but you're pretty much fucking retarded anyway so I give up on telling you to eat more than that.
