I want to be underweight Anonymous
The majority of /fit/ seems focused on achieving or maintaining an average weight in healthy ways. I am currently about average, and I have decided though that I would like to be slightly underweight. I am 19, female, 5'5" and 115 lbs and I would prefer to be betweeen 100 and 105, and I want to achieve this in the healthiest way possible. I will try not to consume less than 1000 calories a day and I will eat five small meals throughout the day. I will drink Slim Fast for the first, eat oatmeal for the second, a medium-sized balanced meal of eggs, cereal, fruits and veggies for lunch, Slim Fast for the fourth, and my last meal will be fruit. I will always take my vitamins and I will try to do a bit of cardio every day. Am I doing it right? I would appreciate some feedback on this plan and some suggestions on ways to stay underweight but be healthy.

Females should not be allowed to ask about losing weight on /fit/. They're all starting to look like trolls.

All of you: Your weight is fine, no matter how much you bitch and baaww about it.

You could do with a bit more protein, because being underweight puts you at great risk for losing muscle mass. As a woman, you should be concerned about this because more muscles equal stronger bones and healthier joints and you really really don't want to put yourself at risk for osteoporosis later in life. Do not think that that isn't a legit concern.

The best way to get good protein without too many phytoestrogens (the only downside to soy, too much can cause a hormonal imbalance in men and women that will increase the risk of cervical or prostate cancer respectively) and without seafood (since you don't like it) while keeping to low-fat foods is lentils. Buy some dal. They have plenty of fiber and protein and a healthy amount of good carbs. For me they are a major staple, but I was fortunate to be raised desi. In any case, they are easy to prepare, inexpensive, and versatile in cooking. Different varieties vary greatly in flavor but are all roughly the same health-wise, so if you don't like one shop around.

Hope this helps!

OP. At that size you should have a body like this. Why would you want to be skinnier? 5'5" 115 is perfect.
