don't care about fat burning Anonymous
Hi /fit/, I'm 18, incredibly weak and looking to start an intensive workout program once I get to college. I'm in the single digits for body fat % so all I care about is gaining muscle and cardiovascular endurance. I have a good idea of what I want to do for weight training but none for diet or cardio. Would weight training one day and HIIT on an alternate day be a good plan? And what % of calories a day should come from protein?

I realize there are a lot of crap threads like this but I couldn't find one where losing weight wasn't a concern. (pic unrelated)

Don't even joke about it.

Just forget about all these intense programmes and everything for now, if you arents used to a bit of gym work then forget trying to go along with a fucking HIIT.

best thing would be to join a load of sports clubs when you get there. you make friends too, and it gets you a social life.
and then make sure you go to the gym at least once a week.
this will just get you started, and then in a few months you can think about these programmes.
Best thing is to try and make sure you push yourself. If you're weak, only pain will heal you.

thanks, I didn't really know if HIIT was something anyone could do or if it was only if you were in reasonable shape already. in any case though I'm pretty good at getting in a routine in the morning so I was going to try to start going to the gym (5 min walk away) for a half hour a day before breakfast/classes.
