/fit/, im joining my first kickboxing class tommorow,

any pointers for the first week or two?

tbh i'll probably get told to sit and watch on my first day, but oh well, i'll see how it goes

Just don't give up. Have you ever participated in any physical sports before?

Just walk in there with the mentality that you aren't going to give up, and play mind games with yourself if you get too tired.

How in-shape are you? If not, he'll probably put you through at least 3 weeks of conditioning before you start learning technique.

Nothing like walking up, going LOLROUNDHOUSE with underdeveloped shins, and waking up the next morning crying because your legs feel like they're on fire.

1. no Ego, very important like they said
2. there wil be soreness, lots of soreness
3. there will be pain so be ready, did i mention you will be sore a few days?

As a recreational kickboxer here... I'll just say if you haven't done any physical exercises in a long while, prepare to be very sore for the next week.

Also, torque your waist while throwing crosses.

I just started kickboxing last Thursday (today is going to be my second session.) I was in pretty decent shape. Still got my ass kicked. :)
