Who inspires you the most out of these two, /fit/?

Not by how much they can lift or anything, btw, but by what they achieved in their lives.

Couldn't lifting a good amount of weight be an achievement? It seems like you're baiting us to pick Clay with your "btw" statement. Couldn't I turn around and say "Not by how many white guys they knocked out or anything, btw, but by what they achieved in their lives."

The amount of weight they can lift, I think, is arbitrary. What I want to know is how inspiring /fit/ thinks they are based upon, in Ali's case, the amount of shit he had to go through to become a boxer, the amount of training he did, the way he psyhed himself up, the way he persuaded and proved to people that he was tough. In Arnie's case it's a matter of how hard he trained, how much he was willing to push himself, the effort we went through to make bodybuilding and lifting an official sport, etc.

Sure, you cna judge them based upon how much they can lift, but Ali's life was never about that, while Arnold's was. Personal opinion about what you think is more important, in the end.

Definitely Arnold. Have you seen any of Arnold's movies lately? A list of things things Arnold can do that Ali can't: travel through time, terminate, lead a successful revolution on Mars, kill an entire island of bad guys to save his daughter, kill an 8' tall alien with dreadlocks, and stand still.

Arnold left home for a foreign land were he could barely speak the language. He became a successful businessman, famous actor, and governor of the 6th largest economy in the world.

Ali talked a lot, joined a cult, bashed other black men in the head for the white man's enjoyment. But hey he's the "greatest".

Foreman is actually more of an inspiration than Ali.

You forgot to mention how he became the greatest boxer of all time.

have to go with ali.

being a successful fighter is the ultimate proof of constitution and inner strength. no persuasion required.

acting and modeling and politics are based on convincing and lying to others.

One time arnold went to his gym to pump some iron and then he found it was closed so he broke a goddamn window so he could get in and start lifting shit.
