Having /fit/ is really fucking nice, I can finally ask questions i've been wondering forever about. Anyway I've been lifting for a while now with a classic weekly split. I'm just getting into amateur boxing and told one of my mates id spar with him tomorrow. Problem is I worked my back/bi's today. Will sparring for 30-45 minutes tomorrow effect my gains or hurt my muscles?

tldr: I'm gonna be sore tomorrow, will sparring fuck up my gains or muscles in general?

I'd be more worried about your weight training fucking up your sparring.

When I spar I occasionally get aches in the triceps, lats and legs. And the arms getting tired from keeping a high guard, I guess. But the rest of the back and biceps aren't heavily worked by punching. All about technique and momentum. It may inhibit your gains a little, but not enough to worry about.
