i want to improve the power of my punch. is it a case of improving technique? or should i work on specific muscles?

thanks, Anon.

its a bit of both, just work your upper body(dont forget legs aswell or you'll look retarded) and work on technique aswell

learning proper technique will give you best result for effort. make sure you are in a strong stance and use your hips and shoulders to drive your fist through whatever is in front of you.

also do alot of push ups and all dat

furthermore if u go for the deep shit like
martial arts kind of stuff

use ur waist to punch ( youtube it or something..its hard to explain )

or try the one inch punch :D
that prolly takes 3 decade of training but heck
it looks cool.

If you want to improve the power of your punch, you'll need to learn how to throw all your weight into it. That means heavy bag, sparring, etc. Read Jack Dempsey's Championship fighting. Dempsey's explanations are top notch.

You might also want to increase strength and mass so you have more weight behind your punch. So SQUATZ and milk.

Dont you need to work your whole body as a punch starts in the legs and works its way up to the arms.

thanks anon

Make sure you twist your whole body into it, it's not just your arm doing it

biceps triceps pectorals trapezius abdominals are all integral in a good punch
>> Anonymous

wrong... biceps and pectorals hardly do anything in a standard punch

wrong, pectorials do, biceps don't

Punch is connection to what's under you, vibration in the hips and stance, and your technique and timing (TIMING). If you can't get your hips, legs, and weight working for you, it's not the best it can be.

Your arm and hand just have to stand up to whatever force your lower body puts in it.
