Alright /fit/, I'm probably going to be mercilessly trolled for this, but I need your help with something. It's not the usual question, so I hope you'll be a little kinder.

I've been working out for roughly 5 weeks now, seeing gains and improvements, but. Let me explain my problem. Whenever I do my 3 workouts a week, I see good improvements in everything. . . then I take my weekend off. When I come back, I find I can improve my form each time (It's getting the point where I'm not using anything except what I should be using muscle wise). But I take a dramatic decrease in performance each time this happens.

I'm eating right, working hard enough I leave in a daze each time I finish, and yet. . .

Am I doing it right? Is it normal to see these set backs when form improves?

Anyone? I need to get to bed for work soon, but I want to ease my mind on this subject.

first thing that comes to mind is that your initial form was fucked up meaning you could do a lot of reps but just not the right way - i.e. getting that last pull-up by twisting your body every which way.
now that you are correcting your form and posture it should be harder to achieve gains

Do you think you are over training?

OP you are overtraining. Period. Work out 2 times a week and eat a lot moar, and sleep a lot moar. Do things for a couple of months.
