Okay, I've been trying to work out with basic exercises at home for the past two weeks, since every time I get a gym membership, I can never motivate myself to go. I seem to be able to stick with it and have been feeling better, lately.

Day 1: Pushups and dips.
Day 2: Chinups and curls.
Day 3: Squats and lunges.
Day 4: Rest.
Rinse and repeat. I also do 3 ab exercises every day.

Am I on the right track or am I doing it wrong?

You're doing alright. Are you on an specific diet?

Not really. I try to get plenty of veggies and protein for lunch and dinner, and have cut down on my carb consumption.

I have no idea if it's the right thing to do or not, but I'm trying to ease into healthier eating habits. Past efforts to just go cold turkey into diets have been less than successful.

No. This won't build up enough muscle. More muscle equals more strength equals more muscle. Burns fat and muscle.

Take a look at this site I just stumbled across: http://stronglifts.com/.

Try the StongLifts 5 x 5, it's good program. Will build you muscle for more strength.

don't listen to these fags.

Military uses only the exercises you listed as their daily workouts.
Add in a 2 mile run everyday and you'll be in shape in no time. And you'll actually be strong instead of these meatheads that are big but have no strength.

Thanks, that seems like a pretty informative site. The catch 22 is that I don't have the equipment they list at home and I don't seem able to force myself to go to a gym.

Mostly, I'm just trying to get myself into the mindset of doing an exercise routine every day until it becomes a habit. If I can keep this up, I'll definitely look into getting a real muscle-building diet and gym membership.

For now, though, I'll see if I can include things from that site in my workout. Thanks!

I hate running. I hate it so much, but I know I need to start. Temperatures here are still 100+ F, though, so I'm going to continue to be a pussy and wait until fall hits before I try jogging every day.

If you're interested in checking out some boxing anime, the only 2 I've heard of are Hajime no Ippo(seen, it is excellent) and Ashita no Joe(haven't seen, but I've heard it's a classic).
