Smoking and Losing weight Anonymous
I'm at a crossroads, I'm undecided if I am to quit smoking while losing weight or quit when I get to my goal weight.

I don't know if I could handle the disappointment from GAINING weight when trying to lose weight.

I know I'll gain weight when I get to my goal weight I'll have to lose again but it'll be 10 pounds and not a plus on the 80 pounds I want to lose.

really, it's only for you to decide. it certainly will make it easier to do cardio if you quit ASAP, because of the lungs.. but most people do gain a little weight when they quit. you shouldn't gain too much if you be extremely careful of what you eat while you're quitting, it will just be much harder to do that for a bit.

what if you just started to cut down now? if you do that, it'll also make it easier to quit when the time comes.

Actually, you should quit now and use some cardio to help with the cravings. Trust me!
I used to smoke and then I started cycling for weight reasons. Try intervals and smoking and you'll quit ASAP

I still smoke cigarettes and i bet i can still outrun just about any of you guys......i don't think it is as bad as people make it out to be.......I mean if your family has a predisposition to cancer don't smoke.....but i can run just fine....i don't smoke many cigs before i jog usually though.....

OP: Quit. Do it. Now. It'll make your weight loss easier. I used to smoke a pack a day of Reds (quit 4 years ago). I couldn't feel happier. The first month is gonna suck, but stick it out and don't go back to smoking like a little bitch. There's another world out there that you forgot existed.

As for the weight gain, eat a lot of carrot sticks and celery. Stuff that's filling and low-cal.

Here, I'll give you a reason to quit. When I was overweight and smoking, I had no sex drive and my dick barely got hard. Now that I quit and exercise regularly, I'm horny as a motherfucker and my dick got like twice as large and rock hard. You wanna be a limp-dicked nancy boy? No? Then quit now.

It really helps the morning cravings if you replace your first smoke with a good cardio workout. The thought of a cigarette after a tough run/ride will make you want to retch. Think of it as replacing one addiction with another.
