Alright, time settle this unrelenting question once and for all. Which is better for a workout?

a. Free Weights

b. Machines

I vote A.

Let's try to get this thread sticky'd.

I don't think anyone has ever made the claim that machines provide a better workout than free weights.

there are people out their who are firm believers in machines while there are those who prefer free weights. Just trying to what the majority of /fit/ users believe in.
>> Anonymous
a mixture of both

Free weights, duh.

I used machines to help me build strength so that I would be more confident when I moved up to free weights.

Free weights.

I seldom hit the machines, but when I do it's for more isolated movements.

I'm a firm believer in compound exercises, especially the ones that utilize your core stabilizers...

i.e. SQUATZ

Those people are fucking retarded. Even /fit/ can grasp the simple concept that free weights are better than machines.

I thought about adding an isolation exercise as an accessory for my calves but I'm afraid that would conflict with the squats.
