Aye /fit/
I'm 6'5, 300lbs.

2 years ago, i ate fast food everyday, never ate healthy, drank 50+ sodas a week, got zero excericse (most i did was get off my comp to go pee!) etc etc. I was like 330lbs.

Since then i went cold turkey, at all once, last year sometime. I promised myself no more fast food, no soda, no candy, no caffine, nothing. And i was getting out alot more.

So, Now, On occasion, probably once every 2-3 weeks i'll have a chicken burger from a fast food place, and a sprite, or something caffine free. (Hell even sometimes i just bring in juice)

I'm eating healthy at home, salad every other night, vegitables every night. Chicken, prepared very healthy... etc. I've been out of my house almost everyday...

So why cant i lose weight?
I'm now 6'5 300lbs. But i mean, I made a HUGE huge huge huge drastic change.

Someone tried telling me i was building more muscle, which wieghs alot.

You've got a lot more to lose than 30-40 lbs before you get lean.

Try 100 lbs.

Not hating, just being truthful. Coming from a 6'7 guy who was at were you were.

Understandable, i meant overall though, for pure healthyness... Once i get down to 200, I'd be toning up, alot. Muscle does weigh alot...
I would refuse to be 200lbs and have no muscle.

also, Even if i was 200lbs, I'd have to muscle up because the excess skin would be overwhelming if i didnt, right?

Just stuff im told, i dont know to be honest, I've got a friend who's the same hieght/weight as me, but he's 70% muscle. And i think he looks great. I'd like to get rid of the chub though, and tone up. I think if he was at 250, he'd look even better. (In a totally heterosexual way.) Just trying to use an example of my body-type.

But iono.

Lol, anyways. Honestly man, don't listen to Mr. 100 pounds, I think had a very good idea when you set your goals for 250. Because, and I know from being in the same position you were, although only six feet tall, and fat. I set my goals for too high (210 to 150) and kinda got discouraged really quick.
The trick is setting your goals lower. They'll be easier to achieve, and once you achieve them, you'll feel FUCKING good. Like, AMAZING. And then, if you're not 100% satisfied, all you gotta do it set yourself another little goal, and because you've already achieved one, you'll reach it in no time. ;]
As far as the pop goes, I think it's good that you treat yourself to a soda and a chicken burger everyone once in a while, it'll prevent you from plateauing, or going into the mythical "starvation mode," and it'll make things a lot easier on you.
And so what if you're not losing tons of weight yes, give it time! Your body's probably a lot happier with you for eating better, and soon enough it will reward you! Don't ever stop! YOU CAN DO THIS! :)

The reason you're not losing weight most likely because you are still getting too many calories. Try eating less, not just healthier. There are online calculators that let you find out your calorie maintenance level. If you make sure to stay beneath, you'll be guaranteed to lose weight, unless you are gaining a LOT of muscle.

Allright, thank you people :)

Also, make sure you use lean muscle mass, not total mass.

This is a very realistic and attainable goal for you... you don't have to be 200lbs to be healthy. From the sounds of it I have a very similar body type to yours as well. When I was 20 and in great shape, competitive fighting, working construction during the day, training at night, etc... I was 6'3" and 225.

Now I'm 31, 6'3" and 250 with easily that 25-30lbs being mostly excess fat. So if at 6'3" I looked great at 225/230 then at 6'5" you can look great at 240-250.

and oh yes, I will lose it again! Soon I will be done raising newborn babies and getting shit for sleep and I'll be back on the right track.
