Ok /fit/, i want to know once and for all... Will a weight gainer, taken in between meals, help me put on some extra pounds? I'm currently 6'3, 170lbs, and i'm a very hard gainer. I already take protein after my workouts btw.

Have you tried just tracking your calories to see how much you really eat? Might turn out that you don't need the weight gainer and you're just a pussy who cant eat enough.

i eat 4000 calories already. I can't afford anymore goddamn food. Will a weight gainer work or not?

How long have you been eating these "4000 calories"?

3 months, and i've been working about for about 3 months as well. I've gained 10lbs since then.

This shit never get's answered. I'm just going to buy some tomorrow and see if it helps.

You've gained 10lb in 3 months and you're bitching? They're newbie gains, of course, but you haven't even seen what your body is going to be doing when you stagnate on those gains.

Weight gainers taste like shit and are pretty expensive for like 3-5 servings, which won't do you shit.

If you really want a weight gainer, make your own. Google recipes.

Fuck the taste, but 3-5 servings you say?!?! I figured it would be like protein powder where you could buy a large container for about 30 bucks and it would last you a month or two.

No, you buy a huge container and get 3-5 servings out of that huge container cause of the serving size. Shit's weak. If you take half the serving and mix in things like peanut butter or whatever you can usually stretch it out to 10-12 servings, but that's it in most cases.

I don't know what you're talking about. I'm looking at a tub of ON gainer, and it is 18 servings.

And OP, try to get the calories you need from food, it's a better way to gain then to drink something.

I've not looked into weight gainers in years, but still 18 servings isn't a lot at all and most likely won't help him get anywhere. Especially if he's half the hard gainer he says he is, with the whole "I eat 4k calories and still can't gain" spiel.

True, for the money they aren't worth it. Like I said before, its more important to get the calories from food.

How did that stuff work for you?

I took it when I wasn't really sure how to gain. Then our athletic trainer sat me down, yelled at me and told me to get my shit together. In other words, he said it was a waste of money. Told me to get to the caf and eat lots of hamburgers, peanut butter, pasta etc. Shit that you normally wouldn't eat in large amounts unless you are trying to gain. Although I did not drink soda or any sugary drinks.

Oh well. I guess i'll just buy more whey and look up some recipes on google :\

Do whatever you want, but just know that weight gainers are a waste of money. Just adjust your diet for a gaining phase. Drinking shakes will not do it for you. You're going to piss some of it out. Eat more and let your body digest it. Or you could just do whatever you want.
