Starvation Mode Anonymous

I was discussing metabolism with a friend yesterday. He said that If you are malnourished, or just very very hungry, your body goes into a "starvation mode" and hangs on to every calorie.

Does metabolism slow with hunger? Or is it just movement=calories burned?

If you eat very little, your metabolism will slow and you will feel less hungry when it comes to meal times. The body is adaptive and if you don't eat much or often, it is prone to conserve what little nutrients it gets rather than expending them during exercise, including fats.

But I'm not entirely sure what you're asking here. Try rephrasing... whatever the hell you just said.

it depends, my body is hungry almost every 2 hours, and i eat to make sure it doesnt retain all the food. but i have a fast metabolism and i dump like 4 times a day.

That's exactly what the OP said. If your body knows that it will get enough calories, it isn't so clingy to every tiny bit of calory. Ergo, you have to eat more/more often, but your also constantly burn more calories.
