/fit/, here's my healthy turkey-based chili

25% carbs (about 12g of sugar per serving, primarily from the tomatoes; rest is fucktons of fiber)
48% protein
23% fat
3% saturated fat

is this awesome and tasty looking, and anyone want the recipe?

excuse me while i go make sure it's reducing properly

sure i'll have it.

Though Chili is one of those things that you can make almost with anything:
1lb meat
2tbsp chili powder (or to taste)
1can crushed tomatoes
1 diced green pepper
2tsp cumin

Then you can fuck around from there with hot sauce, pepper, whatever else you want, but thats a base chili stock.

2 medium white onions diced
olive oil to prevent sticking and help simmer onions, garlic, turkey breast
garlic to taste (i use about 1/8c to 1/4c)
4 bell peppers (i typically just get whichever color is cheapest at the moment)
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp cumin
pepper flakes, pepper, cayenne, basil to taste
56oz tomato puree (i don't make it myself because I'm lazy, so I get central market tomato puree with no added sodium, organic, etc.)
2 lbs 99/1 ground turkey breast (you can siphon off fat yourself--google how to do it, but it involves washing the ground turkey in water and draining repeatedly to remove the fats
in a big pot:
1) simmer onion and olive oil on medium or low for 10-15 mins
2) add garlic and simmer for 1 min
3) add diced bell with chili powder, cumin, peppers for 1 min
4) add tomato puree, basil, bring to boil then lower temp and simmer for 30 mins

while you're adding onion, garlic, peppers, etc., be browning 2 lbs ground turkey in a pan with olive oil
once brown, put it in with the big pot, stir, keep simmering

continuously stir, i usually let it all simmer for 45min-1hr, but you can do it longer to evaporate the water some more for a more concentrated flavor

makes a shitton (for me, it's like 5-6 meals)

enjoy

i'm quite proud of finding something that blows my mind every time i eat it while it still being ridiculously healthy (add other veggies for more nutrients if you'd like, like spinach or something)

suggestions on other things to add?

an entire batch has
2050cal
1000mg vitamin C
28000IU of vitamin A
2.26mg of vitamin B6
40mg of iron
<500mg sodium
41g fiber
560mg cholesterol

keep in mind that's 6 servings, but still for some of those nutrients, that's your RDV right there

whoops i forgot to mention the 5 jalapeno peppers i use (i've thought about using habanero or serrano, but jalapenos are cheap and i love them)

So if you were to eat this entire pot of chili, all the vitamin A in it would kill you.

i think perhaps eating teh whole pot would burst your stomach anyway

beyond that, you're wrong

toxicity requires consistent 25,000 IU per day for multiple days in a row
