Hi, /fit/, question for you all that I'm not sure's been addressed before.

I've been working out since 13 (am 23 now); lifting weights, swimming, running, et al. throughout different points of my life. But never before have I experienced a sensation such as this.

I was doing leg presses the other day, pushing myself hard as I always do. When I got done with my set, the usual "ahhhh feels like I just got molested" feeling set in, stammering my way over to the waterfountain for a sip. But I noticed something else...I felt high. And not just the usual small endorphine release -- it felt like I just smoked a big blunt to the face. My head felt heavy, pressure all off in my sinuses, I felt almost stupid (just like if I had smoked), and I was extremely dizzy.

At first I thought it was just lack of oxygen, but I'm always extremely careful to breathe on every rep I do. I thought maybe I had a cold, thereby preventing oxygen from reaching my brain like it should under such strain.

But then I went today to leg press, and the same shit happened. I felt high.

Am I damaged goods, /fit/? Pic sorta related.

Nope, hard exercise releases endorphins.

But to the severity of feeling stoned?

I've worked out for years, and I've smoked weed. Never had the two sensations confused before (and hadn't smoked weed for a couple of months before this recent incident).

Big compound leg movements done hard will cause blood pressure to increase. Blood rushes to hte legs, gets stuck there as the heart pumps hard and the mucles swell with blood causing you to feel light headed.

I've done cardio for 45-60 minutes, gone back to my dorm, and had a wave of uncontrollable, inexplicable happiness. I think it was something like "runner's high".

It happens.
