sup, /fit/, I've got a question.

I've been working out daily for about 2 months, every day I run at least 2 miles and 200 jumping jacks. Sometimes I'll do 20-40 sit ups push ups and crunches.

My diet, I feel is exceptional, and has been for near 4 months. I'm not strictly vegetarian, although I rarely eat any meat and never drink milk or eat real cheese. I eat lots of fiber, eating mostly that awesome flowerless sprouted grain bread(gluten intolerant), garbonzo beans, flax seeds, oats, all kinds of greens, carrots, bananas, berries. I get a lot of my protein from nuts, soy cheese, and almond milk in my cereal. I generally poop twice a day.

I eat this all in strict moderation and I haven't seen a pound of weight loss in the past two weeks. I went from 190 to 155 just eating healthily, and 155 to 149 by just running and pushups, however, there still is quite a bit of fat on my body, considering I'm like 5'6.

I've got no idea where I'm going wrong, admittedly I know next to nothing about fitness. Any advice would be lovely.

inb4 fatty, kill yourself, etc.

eat steak and DO MORE SQUATZ
>> ESH !Oj4wGhYfsE
You don't even have a question mark in that whole post. But, onto helping...

You shouldn't be running/lifting every day, for starters. Atleast, in the same format. So, if you want to work out 5 days a week (Resting is always good and should be done), then lift M-W-F and run T-Th, depending on your goals. Switch them around to running M-W-F and lifting T-Th if you'd like more weight loss.

Also, with something as low as 20-40 reps of push ups or crunches, you won't ever see progress. You should be working to do 20-40 at a clip, for sets of 3-5 if you're going to use BW exercises (Which, unless you've no other choice, you shouldn't do).

Basically, HIIT/SQUATZ.

Regardless of there being a question mark or not in my post, it doesn't make it any less of a question. I'd verify by definition but I'm not that much of a faggot.

But, yeah, thank you a lot for the advice, I'll take it into consideration.

your diet is a clusterfuck and your exercise regime is a joke. you have a lot of body fat because your diet is largely carbohydrates with low-intensity exercise. your body has no reason to build muscle and your diet is not conducive for doing so anyway. it's probably still hanging onto the fat because there is not enough in your diet and that's what the human body does.

ever bothered doing any research before you start running your mouth off over what is 'perfect' and what is not?

milk has been a staple in contemporary society's diet only for the past sixty or so years.

if you are concerned about calcium, get it elsewhere in foods or supplement it.

i'm surprised you don't make yourself look like an idiot more often.

You need to eat a certain amount of fat in order to subsist and, ironically enough, lose fat. Cutting all fat completely out is stupid and counterproductive.

You couldn't cut out all fat if you tried. There is absolutely no need to go out of your way to get extra fat. You need to take in enough *calories* to burn fat. Getting fewer of those calories from fat will actually make you burn more fat.

Well, I guess I need to explain myself more thoroughly next time, for fear of someone vomiting shit on my feet.

I do, take many suppliments, considering I have a hard time digesting milk and most meats. Including calcium, B12, a regular multivitamin, and Biotin for my hair and skin.

But I'm sure you feel a lot better now misdirecting your nerd raeg on someone.
>> Anonymous
a 2 mile run is a warmup. 20-40 situps/pushups is a single set in a circuit.

Don't go out of your way to avoid meat milk and cheese because you think they're bad - they're not. If you really don't want to eat them, though, that's different. Points for eating healthy as opposed to looking for a fad diet, but if you're looking to get fitter, change the workout. It might be passable for general fitness, but don't expect to see a whole lot in the way of improvement.
>> Anonymous
>>72328
I'll take that into consideration, thanks for the pleasant advice. Most people here tend to not bother reading "I know nothing about fitness" line of my paragraph and go ranting the pretentious rants they formulated from diet fad books.

When I mean my diet being exceptional, I mean in the sense of lack of empty calories, trans fats, etc.

Try running yoru miles faster, run them until at the end of your 2 miles jog your not winded, your completely out of breath.

hahaha. known for a while.

it's been known for a while (since klein, 1969) that squatting below parallel was extremely bad for the knees. until it was repeatedly disproven during the 1990s onwards (the rest of the world ignored it anyway).

it's been known for a while that eggs were bad for you because of cholesterol, until it was repeatedly proven that this wasn't the case.

it's been known for a while that cholesterol in your diet gave you heart disease, until it was shown that dietary cholesterol effected cholesterol levels by no more than 2-3%.

it's been known for a while that high carb diets are good for you, until someone realised that insulin insensitivity actually induces obesity.

so yeah, sorry. i could pick up my copy of the anabolic diet and just use all of the studies referenced in that if you want. i could go over and quote john berradi or charles poliquin or peter snell or jeff volek and everything that he is doing at the moment but meh. i think instead i'll quote a 22 year old study instead and ignore the guys at the pitface, so to speak.

i am a benevolent anon, so i'll match your 22 year out of date study with this one, and even refrain from saying 'gtfo'.

diet fad? what the fuck do you know about diet? nothing at all; there is nothing diet fad about anything i've posted, whereas the best you could do was bad science 22 fucking years ago.

you have a high bodyfat percentage and a shitty level of musclemass, and are so ignorant that you come to 4chan for exercise advice. loose the fucking arrogance, you don't have anything to back it up.
>> Anonymous
>>72345
I'd say I actually have quite a bit of muscle mass for my figure, although I do have a some fat to attend to. But skew my words however you'd like to fit whatever argument you think you're trying to pose.

I asked 4chan out of sheer convenience, I guess I could've gone to a fitness forum or read some books but I've got more important things to attend to, and it's much more convenient to tab out of typing my term paper to check up on people's responses than take a few hours to search for information or books.
It's sort of funny that you say "I'm so ignorant that I'd come to 4chan for advice", I might as well not listen to anything else you say, then. As for the arrogance, look in a mirror. I'm not sure where I've displayed any.

But, thanks to the people that gave me sound advice. I'll definitely be upping my workout plan and finding a better balance to the foods I can actually digest. I'm off to work and probably won't see this thread again, but I do hope my remains can still provide as a punching bag for your malignant ego.

high body fat means you don't have a lot of muscle mass for your figure. stop contradicting yourself.

>>As for the arrogance, look in a mirror. I'm not sure where I've displayed any.

>>My diet, I feel is exceptional [ and here i site my shitty high carb diet to back it up]

awesome.

>>But, thanks to the people that gave me sound advice

i gave you the best advice based on the most modern science in this fucking thread, but you ignored it because it contradicted your point of view and wasn't what you were looking for, which was apparently for someone to come along and reaffirm everything you already believed.

>>but I do hope my remains can still provide as a punching bag for your malignant ego.

nothing malignant about my ego, i just don't have any time for ignorant smurfs who can't accept having their erroneous world view contradicted.

you came here asking for advice and wouldn't accept it when it was given. fuck off.

Sauce on this?

I've been worried since I started eating eggs every day for LOLPROTEINz that my cholesterol was a big problem, so a sauce would be mighty nice.
>> Guil
>>72410
It's actually diet contributing something like 20-25%, not just 2-3%

google "stronglifts eggs cholesterol" for an article that has a bunch of sources about it, one being:

http://chetday.com/saturatedfatscholesterol.htm

eating them everyday sounds kinda uh.. extra. might want to just do it every other day or something. plus, you'll get tired of your diet and stray from it if you don't change up meals often. theres plenty of other options for breakfast besides eggs

you can even mix whey into oatmeal or something

2 miles isn't that far, try going for longer.
Eat more meat (protein) and less carbohydrates (scrap the bread), don't worry about milk and cheese, healthy fats are good.
2 weeks really isn't that long, make sure you weight yourself at the same time (in the morning) every time.
You can get heavier while loosing fat but it is unlikely if you are mostly running.

Milkfat's not the worst thing in the world, but it is most definitely not a 'healthy fat' - full of vitamins, sure, not a transfat, sure - but highly saturated.

The only truly healthy fats are vegetable oils - especially flax, walnut, canola, and olive (in order of preference).

The only truly terrible fats are trans fats and palm oil and some animal fats (like hard beef fat). Everything else is somewhere in the middle.
