The debate: Barbell or dumbbell bench presses?

I'm kind of leaning towards dumbbell bench presses myself, even though I use a barbell atm. It is safer, uses more stabilizer muscles, and uses more intensity to get the weights into position

Barbell uses more chest, dumbell uses more arm muscles + shoulders.

Depends what type of workout you want to do.

OP here, not really related, but how do static reps sound for breaking plateaus?

They use the same mussels faggots.

when you use a barbell, your stronger dominant arm/pecs/side takes up the majority of the load.

DB bench forces you to work each side with equal weight.

why do you think even ronnie coleman still does DB bench work. DB bench is useful for its own benefits, so do both.

Faggots.
Proof /fit/ is full of retards.

Three things can happen with barbell benchpress:
1. Stronger side takes up most of the work
2. Weaker side attempts to compensate and so you push harder with it and use stronger side for less of the work (thereby making the weaker side stronger)
3. Balance effort equally on both sides

Both work the same mussels as I pointed out above.

Both are good.

The problem with DB presses are that it is VERY hard to maintain rigid form. Switching from them to BB presses, I was surprised to find that BB presses were harder for me because my arms couldn't naturally find the best angle at which to push as with DB presses -- they were locked in throughout the motion.

So unless you're totally committed to having perfect form, go with BB presses.

listen, if you want overall strength go for the dumbells due to the fact that as you stated, you use more stabilizing muscles to keep shit from going out of form. and as for the asshats that think barbell is the superior way think again...dumbells allow greater movement of the pectoralis major....all three parts, allowing them greater motion and stretching opportunity.....and for those that are gonna say shit about form here's the deal...if you can't hold the form, then you're doing too much weight period. I cant tell you how many times I see fags working out, swinging weights like the asshats they are...and they're the ones that are gonna tell you wrong shit and usually use the gym as a means of keeping up with their social groups while getting in your way of working out....fuck this place I'm going back to /b/....fags
