How many of you are ex-fatkids? I mean if your parents taught you bad eating habits and allowed you to balloon up before you were even old enough to know better? I used to be a total lard growing up and even though I lost the weight in my teens to this day I have low self esteem and stretch marks that will never go away.

Sometimes I feel really frustrated at my parents for allowing it to happen, but I remember that they aren't perfect people and to be thankful that I was able to change myself instead of becoming a fat adult statistic. If I ever have kids, I'm definitely teaching them healthy habits.
>> Anonymous
I was always a chubby kid, not like OP's pic but noticeably overweight. I never really changed, except now I'm more bulky overall rather then just a fat kid.
>> Anonymous
I was quite chubby as a child, but this was mainly puppy fat. Average now I'd say.
>> Anonymous
Sadly I'm quite the opp. I was ridiculously skinny and now im a bit above average i think. I have moobs now, before i didnt even have an ass.
>> Anonymous
i was exactly like OP. destroyed my selfconfidense
>> Anonymous
As a kid I always ate a fuckton of food and thus had a layer of fat. It was usually decent, nutritious, home cooked food though.

As a result, now that I'm an adult I'm 6'3" while both of my parents are 5'7".

And I lost all the excess fat during puberty.

Hooray happy endings.

Same here.

This should answer your question, I weigh less now than I did when I was 8-years-old.
>> Anonymous
but although i still have some remnants of stretchmarks on arms and some on stomache although im now good looking, well dressed and really have some nice looking muscles ( wich most peeople notices, more then avrage ) i still have some of that bad confidense lurking..
Girls often flirt with me and look at me with "those" eyes in the corridor at school. I often talk to girls but often just get stuck in the "friendzone" due to that lack of confidense

i was a really really fat kid but then i hit the gym really hard and lost all the fat and got some muscle, then i stopped going to the gym and lost the muscle and now im just average dude. i also got really tall, that helped.

It's your poor spelling.

Chicks hate guys who can't spell confidence.

I was a bit overweight as a kid, buy my sisters are both very skinny, so I don't think it was my parents' fault.

Yeah I bet it is. Confidence.

For the first 8 or so years of my life, I was almost sickly skinny to the point where my mom was crying over it. I remember it too. That's when she started plumping me up and by the age of 12 I was getting into the upper end of the overweight category and stayed there all through high school and part of college.

I'm 21 now and managed to pull it back down to the upper normal range and am still progressing.

as a girl the left over stretch marks from my fat years are quite horrible. I don't think I will ever wear a bikini :'(

I wish I could go back in time and slap the fucking hotdog out my pudgy hand.

Skinny until 2nd grade. Then slowly got fatter.

Out of highschool and finally trying to lose the weight.

Kind of the same. Due to my dad's genes, I was always meant to have a big build or had the best chance of being overweight when I was older. I was always a chubby kid, more so than others, until around 7th grade when I started sports such as, football and track. I really slimmed down through the 3 years I did both those. Since then I just work on forming and defining my body.

I could easily fall back into a bad body shape, so I have to workout nearly everyday. Definitely helps with the girls though.

I ate like crap when I was younger having 2 foot long sandwiches with chips dabbled on along with various other toppings. I also chugged soda like there was tomorrow having about 2 litres a day.

I grew up to be lanky.

Genetics are badass.

OP is my life story as well. I wish I knew better when I was younger.

I was thin and had good habits until 4th grade. I got a couple of friends that ultimately treated me like shit through the years, but I naively let them. This led me to finding food + emotion/control eating. I started getting fat in 4th grade and kept going until now. My parents didn't stop me. I wish they had. But, emotional eating got the best of me.

I'm an ex-fatkid, topped at about 185 pounds, 5'5" in middle school or 9th grade.

There was this one day, after watching Fat Camp (fuck that movie) that I decided it would actually be COOL to be fat. So I went out and bought lots of candy and stuff and worked my way into bad habits INTENTIONALLY. Eventually worked up a dependence on soda, about six cans a day, and a frozen pizza for breakfast (I grew up in Germany so it was delicious).

The rest of my life has been spent trying to remedy a year or two of retarded decisions, I am about 170 pounds and 5'9".

the most i ever weighed myself at was 176 lbs at 6'2"

and i thought i was quite flabby

i was never more than 10 or so over make upper range of 'average' or maybe i was always just upper limits of average but being even that chub theses days will get you teased. im slim but but got stretch marks :( i hate them so much ;_;

i already knew my parents sucked
then i dropped 50 lb and told them to fuck off
to this day they keep insisting i eat their fattyass cooked food thats enough to feed 5 people when there's only 2 to feed. i tell them to fuck off. my mom begs for fitness advice she'll never take. i've given it but she keeps asking. so i tell her to fuck off.

Pfffft... I was chugging down 2 -3 two liter bottles of Coke a day when I was at my worst. I had fucking horrible withdrawal symptoms when I quit.

for stretch marks try a bath of red wine and epsom salt in warm water. solute the water with the wine until it is deep pink in color. Repeat daily, should only take a couple of weeks.

Oh man I remember it.

I remember as a kid, before I was fat, I was a fucking twig, my ribs were visible and I was pretty much skinnier than every girl my age. Then when I got into 5th grade I was having fat habits that were beginning, so much of it continued like eating chips, a carton of ice cream, and pizza every day. And I'd drink about 10 cans of dr pepper or sprite every day, makes me throw up thinking about it.

The most I ever remember, vaguely, back then was in 7th grade, I was 210 lbs at around 5'3" I think, and around the middle of 8th grade or so, I was becoming healthy.

To make a long story short, I dropped from 210 lbs at 5'3" to 147 lbs, and I'm 6"0' now. I'm on a cross country team and I'm not exactly pure muscle, but not skinny as living hell. Because of this I've actually developed a phobia of getting fat, and I like will NEVER EVER fucking put ice cream, chips, junk food, soda, etc into my mouth. NEVER.

I've never been fat or pudgy. I was a short skinny kid and I am still fairly short and skinny.

Back when I was 3, my weight was in the 95th percentile for my age. My diet consisted mainly of cheese, noodles, bread, ice-cream, kit-kat bars (my dad would bring two or three home from work and feed me them) and soda. Yes, soda for a three year old...
>> Anonymous
Yes, during MOST of my total school years, I was obese.
Shit sucked.

I didn't blame my parents back then, but I blame them now as they're no having to raise my younger sister and they haven't learned a thing from me.

They think she'll instantly drop weight/go on a diet when she's around 14. She thinks she'll end up being like me.

Fuck that, I struggled with dieting and shit for 2 whole years. Off and on weight gain. Now, she's a lot heavier then me when I was her age.

I'm around 150-155. Max was about 230 year or so years ago.

What makes me RAGE more is when I tell her not to eat crap and she still does it.

2 days ago I had to scold her about what she was eating and her response was "I don't care".
She's pretty much becoming dead to me now. What a fucking stupid kid.

i was never dangerously over weight, but i did put on some extra baggage so to so speak and as a result my hips are scarred with stretch marks, and im hoping that they will go away, i cant see how that can happen i have just started to lose the weight im 6'2'' weighing in at 185. was same height at 205
>> Anonymous
im an ex-skinny kid. i put on like 20lbs of muscle in a year after i started working out seriously.

i dont do protein shakes or anything so i plateaued. but that is fine with me. i work out more for the routine and stress reduction than for huge gains.
>> Anonymous
I'll start off with saying both my parents are pretty much low-middle-class, not well educated people. My dad would come home from work and he'd feed me candy bars, milkshakes, chocolate milk and soda. My mom's idea of a snack happened to be Doritos with real nacho cheese on them... hell, i never even drank water until I was well in my teenage years. I always had some kind of calorific sugary drink on hand.

Strange thing is, I've always had a pretty fast metabolism and a rather small frame but from the age of 3-4 I was morbidly obese. I came to a conclusion when I was looking through some old photographs a few years ago that must have fed me every time I cried or bothered them when I was a child.

From the age of 5 on, my parents got divorced and I was pretty much out of the whole unhealthy overeating environment my parents were pushing on me (I went to live with my grandparents), and I lost a fuckton of weight.
>> Anonymous
I was over like 20 pounds overweight since 3rd grade. At the start of high school I was 35 lb overweight.

However, after the summer of 11th grade (going into senior year), I started to go to the gym and lost all of my excess weight and have some muscle definition to show for it.
>> Anonymous
I was pretty fat when I was a young un.
I don't remember exact specific measurements, but I was a little too soft for my own good.
I lost a shitload of weight in 7th grade. (surprise surprise, the onset of puberty), and ended up working out, and never being able to get back up past 145 pounds.

I always ate horribly as a kid and into middle school. I never did any exersize either- during mandatory P.E. I would always walk the track instead of running it because I was one of those fail goth kids who thought running would make me part of the 'system'. When I went home, I would sit with a hueg bag of chips/cookies/soda and sit there and play Maple Story/neopets all day. But even through all that, I never was all that fat- just a but of belly chub.

Thankfully I wised up in 10th grade and started exersizing and eating (somewhat more) healthier.

My parents, the typical asian parents, never even encouraged me to go outside or do any sports or eat healthier. GODDAMN IT. I COULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH BETTER/FASTER SOONER IF THEY HAD PUSHED ME TO GET UP OFF MY ASS. FUCK.

I've always been a bit a chubby throughout all my school years and as far back as I remember. When leaving school in 10th/11th grade (GED get out quick card) I was 5'9 and 250, gained another 10 pounds via sitting at a desk job and having a liquor store on the corner. Would spend 4 bucks a day just on junk food; a soda, mini doughnuts, etc.

I was never too concerned about the whole thing, or so I thought, until right after 9th grade when I stayed home during the whole damn summer playing WoW and having pizza delivered. Then I learned what stretch marks are. THAT sucked, and lowered my self-esteem a bit more than the current low. It got so bad, that I was asked to change my shirt at a parade (to support some cause or other) and I didn't want to because people might see what I look like underneath. That day I felt like shit, but I still didn't know what to do about it.

Moving forward, couple years after leaving school, weighing about 260+, and just starting to wear size 44 slacks. My dad does this weight loss program while on vacation on the east coast for 4 months, loses a crazy amount of weight, and starts fitting into my old clothes, size 38's and stuff. At that point I was humilated, but still had no discipline to quit my bad habits, and was still playing WoW all the god damn time.

Finally was kicked out by my Dad (very religious, me not so much) and started to straighten up. Got a new standing job as a bank teller, cut down on the junk food since I had to pay rent now, no more pizza at least, and attempting to quit WoW.

part 2

6 months later, I lose job, and can't spend money on fast food or junk food. Quit WoW, finally. Joined a gym, but self-esteem is still to low to go. Instead, just light exercises in the apartment complex pool (since I had a motorcycle accident which dislocated my shoulder, impacted knee, etc, which I pretend that it limits me in doing stuff-it doesn't)

I don't know what I weigh now, but I've finally gotten back down to size 38 jeans. Still have a muffin top thing, can't wait until that goes away too.

3 months from now, I hope to have muffin top 38in. or smaller, and 8 months from now, I want to look fucking awesome since it'll be my 21st b-day, and might get a girl to look at me in a non-funny way.
