Sup /fit/, I need some weight loss advice. Since December I've dropped 35 pounds by jumping rope for an hour every day, walking a mile and doing like 50-100 sit-ups because I don't know anything about real workout routines and I'm a newfag to fitness stuff. Recently my weight loss has slowed down a lot though. I eat like 800-1000 calories a day, mainly in fruit/tofu products because I'm a vegetarian. Anyway I'm 5'6" and my goal weight is 120, what should I do differently to get there?

You're a girl yes?

120lbs is ridiculous for a 5'6 guy. Eat MORE calories, and try HiiT.

Eat more and learn to bench, squat and deadlift.

Yeah I'm a girl (in b4 tits/gtfo). What's HiiT and why should I eat more?

Switch the exercises up for something else. What you're mainly doing is cardio and after a while your body will get too good at it for you to make any progress.

You could try to replace your jumproping with Sprints and jogging if your knees are up to it and do some burpees to change from situps. If you're not into lifting weights then those should work.

I'm only helping you because you have Action Hank as your picture. Damned vegetarians.

Sprinting and jogging on and off until you can't do it anymore.

Sprint as fast as you can for 30 seconds
jog for 30 seconds
Sprint for 30 seconds
jog for 30 seconds
sprint for 30 seconds
etc....

Always until you can't do anymore. Always.

Is there any way that I could avoid running? Even with sports bras I don't want to run the risk of getting saggy titties plus I'm clumsy and I trip when I try to run.

You mentioned lifting weights which is something that I'm not currently doing. Should I look into that? I have pretty much no upper body strength so I'd have to start out light. Oh and I'm not a vegfag because I think meat is cruelty, eating meat makes me feel really sick. My stomach can't digest it well or some shit, I don't know.

Bike or swim instead. Better for your knees anyway.
If you can't eat meat, try fish, eggs and milk products.
Weight lifting is great, if you can endure pain, soreness and joint problems.

We're actually getting a pool sometime next week so it's cool to know that counts as exercise. This is going to sound really, really stupid but how exactly do I lift weights so that I don't damage my arms or anything? Also>>190863and>>190865said that I should eat more but I'm not hungry ever and typically I only eat so that I don't get dizzy. I just got a checkup the other day and I don't have any kind of health issue, I'm just never hungry.

Go to stronglifts.com and read their stuff, the 5x5 program is awesome.
Rapidsearch "starting strength" for technique.
If you can, go to a good gym and get proffesional advice.

The hunger comes with exercise. Once you start training regularly, your body will crave more food. If you really start lifting, you'll get really really hungry for meat and the likes.

Oh, crossfit is a good lifting program too.

The university I'm going to this fall has a really nice huge gym so maybe I can see if they have personal trainers. I was actually thinking about trying to get in a beginner's kickboxing class and also maybe yoga, do you think it's a good idea?

Very good ideas.
I'd do that myself if I had the time.

switch out the fruit in your fruit/tofu diet with veggies, preferably green ones.

Weight lifting is great for all round health and strength and should be mandatory exercise for every damn person on the planet.

Joint pain only really comes about due to improper technique. With the correct form and weights progression (coupled with a good diet) lifting will make joints stronger and healthier.

Of course, if you powerlift (in which guts often beat out proper form for the heavy, heavy shit) you'll likely end up with some joint issue.

Ha, I doubt I'll do power lifting because last time I had to do any kind of weightlifting was in highschool gym and I could barely even lift the metal bar that you slide those disk things on. Like I said, no upper body strength. If I get a set of weights how heavy should they be?

Couldn't say really... I suppose 2-40kg dumbells would be pretty sufficient. If I were you I'd find a good gym with a good selection of weights, so that you have whatever you need as you progress.

Go onto /rs/ and find Starting Strength. I'd recommend you follow the program. At the very least you should read what the author has to say about the useful applications of weight training.

Read through the whole thing and you will be fully prepared to lift properly and efficiently. You might only be able to lift an empty bar now, but within weeks you will be lifting twice as much; then twice as much again in another few months.

If you lift weights as outlined in that book, and try and eat more healthy food in larger amounts, you will put on lean muscle all over your body, which will lift and hold any and all "sag" and will raise your metabolism sufficiently to burn off excess flab. Overall you'll look and feel a million times better.

You'll also develop one hell of a round ass and some very nice legs.
