sup /fit/

so i want to lose 20-30 lbs asap. i am 6'3, ~200lbs.

I was on the elliptical today for about 35 minutes, busting out 300 calories. My heartrate was around 170-190, which is good (i think) for fat burn.

What is a good solid routine of calories I should burn each time on cardio? I plan on doing the elliptical 3-4 times a week. Any (reasonable) number /fit/ recommends I will push myself to lose this much unneeded weight.

you said asap... so Id recommend going every day and doing 1hour. Thats not asking too much, you have to push yourself, if it's easy its not working.

Okay, thanks for some input. Something to add,

I do the "full body workout" cycle, where there's a predetermined setting. Like minutes 1-5 is level 3-4, minutes 6-9 level 5, 10-15, level 6, and so on. When it gets to the higher levels that late during the exercise it pretty much kills me.

Would I be better off just doing a flat slope level for 1 hour straight? Or does mixing it up throughout the routine (making me more tired and thus less time spent overall) perform better results?
