i realize that the masses are too stupid to even see the point.
so i have to yet again hand hold and spell it out.
RIP has a hard on for that ONE type of low bar, half back squat. as if its the ONLY way, and all those who train the 'hi bar full back squat' are stupid (this includes the Oly lifters of every other country, including americans at teh OTC, who also think Rip is silly)
he sells it to all of you, and you take it hook line and sinker.
to those who 'fight' RIP, he justifies why you all are '1/2 goodmorning squatting' by explaining it aligns with the 1st pull and then lon kilgore draws cool pictures showing how the 1/2 squat looks biomechanically similar to the DL/Clean (1st pull). altho those aspects are never going to be a sticking point (ie. your clean isnt going to get 'stuck' on the 1st pull unless you are doing 30+kg over your max...)
TL DR believing that your quarter to half squatting in Rip fashion is "best" and superior to any other form of squat makes you look like a stupid asshole
RIP was just looking to attach his name to something so he could sell it (like Pavel w/KBs, or <insert pseudo mma guy here> w/BW only). and made up bullshit reasoning that will only work on the uninformed to spin a biomechanically unsound lift (spine compression vs. spine shear) as the key to all fitness goals. that and milk.
no one even realizes there are other ways.
