Ok /fit/, here's the problem.

Creatine worked well for me. Problem was, it seemed to cause bad diarrhea. Coupling that with the increased gas from my increased intake of protein was a disaster. I stopped taking it for a while, and diarrhea disappeared too. I've tried monohydrate, kre-alkalyn, and Creakic (good thing refund policy lets me return opened products) and I've had the same diarrhea problems with each; it basically feels like I'm pissing, but out of my asshole.

I started it up again, and decided I'd drink an obscene (but safe) amount of water throughout the day. Yesterday was the first day back on the train; worked great, no diarrhea. Today I definitely didn't get as much water, and diarrhea returned.

Right now, it seems pretty plausible to link the hydration as a cause of the diarrhea. Google has proven to be quite useless, providing me with the same paragraphs again and again, or blatant ads claiming that their special creatine solves the problem. Is the diarrhea caused by insufficient hydration? I'm very hesitant to try taking creatine again tomorrow, even with a ton of water, just because I'd rather not have to relive another day of anal explosion if it turns out that hydration was not the key.

Thanks!

Placebo or not, it seemed to be working, and it's not very costly so I'm not worried about spending money.

I'm under the impression that I'm getting enough fiber from the oatmeal, fruits, and veggies I eat every day. It couldn't hurt to add some more, but I just have a feeling the issue here is water intake, and I'm looking for some more experienced input.

I never had issues with diarrhea, but I did have slightly "wetter" shits I guess. I wasn't really monitoring water intake, but there's a formula to find your right amount if you want.. I just forget what it is.

Something like (Bodyweight in Pounds) x .65(65% obviously) = (Ounces to drink).

Kettle calling pot, lol. Most of the mass gained is water. Unless you're naturally born with low creatine stores or participate in repetitive high intensity activities that last less than 10 seconds, it's useless.

Think: Diarrhea is caused by your intestines being unable to suck up the requisite amount of water.
Why the fuck would drinking MORE water stop diarrhea? Only if the masses of Creatine, which likes to absorb water, was sitting there in your digestive tract instead of being absorbed.

The supplements you're taking is obviously not going into your body. Reduce its intake.

You're just better off eating meat and fish like the rest of us.

I found one explanation that said that with increased hydration, it can be absorbed more easily. I'm assuming it wasn't absorbed very well when hydration was lower, and large amounts ended up just travelling the intestinal tract, drawing water into there. Idea was that if I drank more water, more of the creatine would be absorbed in the stomach.
