I just moved into an apartment, it was cleaned and painted. One of my neighbors must be fucking dirty because I found a cockroach my first night there. What do I do to keep them out of my apartment? pic unrelated

idk it just kind of is.

The best advice I have for you is to clean everything once with the most abrasive shit you have and then keep it clean after that.

Seemed to work in people's apartments I know who had roach problems.

My apartment is CLEAN! It was cleaned top to bottom *and* painted white.

If you're super clean, you may only see them once or twice a month.

Unless your neighbor(s) clean their shit up spotless, and then you have an exterminator come through, they will NEVER go away completely.

I got put into a place next to some dirty fucking hadji, and after a day or two of killing roaches I raged so hard at the landlord/property manager that they paid for me to move to my new place, and gave me a deal on it. Roaches are unsanitary, and a health hazard, if they moved you in there without telling you there's a bug problem you're absolutely deserving of them doing everything in their power to satisfy you.

That seems hopeless to me. Even if your own apartment is immaculate, they will still be there so long as any other person in the building remains a slob.
