hi, /fit/; I would like to get back in to cardio (guilty of taking a break after eleven straight months, and I hate myself for it now ._.)

these are my options:

- ride my bike to and from work every day; it's ~7.5 miles each way, and this would save me lots of gas and give me time to do bodyweight exercises in the morning; additionally, I genuinely enjoy riding my bike

- jog every morning for as long as possible; currently, the longest I can go is just under forty minutes at an even pace, though I imagine this will quickly increase (this has been my experience in the past); not as fun or (essentially) useful as riding my bike, but it seems like it's a LOT more effective as far as pure cardio goes

for the record: male, 22, 5' 11", 155 lbs., eat neurotically healthy (and no soda/sweets/sauces etc.)

thanks guise

Well, if you enjoy riding your bike, just to that.

I mean, it wont help you that much after a while, as your body will just adjust to the ride, but at least you like it.

OP again

I suppose it's painfully obvious that I'm leaning towards option #1, but if it is truly ineffective (at least in comparison to the alternative), I don't want to do it

I'd be willing to sacrifice practicality for utility; I just want to do whatever works best no matter what

this is OP's bike, for the record

It gives me a bit more of a workout because it's a tiny BMXfag bike and not really made for long-distance road travel, but I <3 it anyway

well, your two choices are basically doing the same thing.

Riding the bike is less impact on your knees though, and you like doin it, just do it.

Why choose? Do both.

If it really is the same thing, then I'd obviously rather bike, but I'm almost sure it's not (I'm a lot more sweaty and winded after thirty minutes of running than ~1 hour of cycling), but oh well

it's lower nao

I thought about this, but there just isn't enough time

>sweaty and winded
this means you are making more progress

get up earlier, do both, it will get you to your goal in double the time
