Deadlifts Anonymous

Im in pretty good shape, and a few months back I really got into weightlifting, and am pleased with my results so far. However, I havent done deadlifts until today.

Holy shit, I think I like them better than squatz.

Although I joined a gym in January, I've only been seriously lifting for about 5 weeks now. Did squatz for the first time 2 weeks ago (loving them, my legs are still sore) and will do deadlifts this monday for the first time. Looking forward to 'em

If I have been doing deadlifts and squats for the last two months, and have never done squats before, will I be able to start squatting at higher ranks, well above the 'starting weight' thing.

LOL at the OP's picture. Alright kiddies, listen up:

DO NOT PULL WITH THE ARMS, YOURE NOT ROWING.

Push your butt back, don't look at the bar, feel for the grooves on your barbell and line your middle finger up with that. Don't worry about staggered grip unless you've tried the weight before and your grip started to give. Look ahead or up (preferably up), flex your triceps, tense up, and stand (don't pull with your fucking arms). Keep the bar near you, you shouldn't have the bar floating out a foot in front of you when you stand, it should be a groove that moves almost diagonally toward you. And please don't hyperextend your back at the top, you look like a douche if you do.

And by groove I mean that smooth line in the middle of the checkered parts of the bar, it's like the perfect spot to put your hands.

Lol, the first time I went to the gym I could max the cable row machine and I was a skinny cunt. It felt great though. Lat pulldowns never felt right though, thank God for that. Pull UP not DOWN.
