I can't find any sort of motivation to work out. It just doesn't appeal to me for some reason and I can't get myself to engage in a workout regime for more than a couple days before quitting. I have a gym membership that I don't use because I don't have the dedication to work out and I always feel weird working out in front of other people.

How do you do it /fa/? How do you keep working out without your A.D.D. kicking in and making you go play video games instead?

Picture sorta. Its a labor barracks in Dubai were workers do ten times more physical work building that city in one day than I do in a full year.

Whoops my bad. But hey, at least half of fitness is just looking good.

But how do I want it? Is there just some epiphany in one's life that makes a person want to get in good shape? Part of the problem is the fact that my body sort of defaults to a decent condition. I am somewhat weak but at a distance I look good enough. My metabolism stays at a good level so I can eat all I want and stay at normal body weight without any effort on my part. I was in decent shape at one time though. I was on a swim team and specialized in the 100 butterfly. I was not very fast but I had great form. My lung capacity was high too, I was able go 100 meters non-stop before the carbon in my chest started to burn too much. I think I want it to the point were I can have fun doing it. My swim team was always fun and I loved it before medical issues knocked me out.

Usually people end up in some sort of situation that pushes them into the direction of getting it done. Like for example a heart attack for a fat person. That makes you want it really bad.

I don't know the official names of these stages but this is what I recall hearing about how people make changes happen in their life.
They first start in a precognition stage where they aren't really actively thinking about something, but it's this vague idea in their mind that they COULD want to make a change.
Then after that they start actively preparing, and set a date, and read/think about how they are going to make a change. They do planning in this stage.
AFTER that (if they get here) they go into the stage of actually doing the stuff. This is a good place to be in, and you should make sure you stick with your plan without a care in the world but getting it done. Chances are you will fuck up a few times and stop doing it, but that is typical. Just start up over and over until you get it right.
