Mystery diagnosis time, /fit/!

So all summer long I've gotten into /fit/ness, doing the whole 3 times a week lifting weights deal (squats, bench, pullups, deadlifts), plus cardio on the side to keep fat down--fatloss has been a big part of my goal.

It was good, it was great, I even had to up my calorie intake at some point from 2200 to 2600 because I guess the increase in muscle mass demanded it since I couldn't do jack shit and feel good without the extra energy. So it was good, I had enough energy to do my workouts, and never gave myself a net positive energy balance (fat gain).

More recently, however, my workouts are starting to suck dick, and my injuries aren't really healing. By injuries, I mean the minor weakness you get as muscle repairs. Every time I go to lift weights, something's off. The muscles I want to work have a kind of empty, airy feel to them in terms of ability, even though I'm carb loading just prior to lifting. I don't feel I'm at full strength. I even experimented with it and rested 3 days instead of just 1 or 2, but no dice. I just don't feel strong anymore, no more "pump" coming, can barely keep the same weight as before lifted from killing me now, etc. Also, my legs aren't recovering well from my runs either so I have to skip a few days here and now because of it... something is just totally jacked with my body's ability to heal up.

My first thought was that perhaps I need to eat more? But that doesn't make sense since I already upped my intake by quite a bit, and 45% of my diet is from protein. What's wrong with me, /fit/? I drink an ungodly amount of water, eat 5 times a day, everything I eat is on those lists of healthy, unprocessed foods /fit/ throws around all the time...

Halp, /fit/!

Rest one week. Maybe you are stressed out? Possibly overtraining?

try this:
pre workout- drink a protein shake with some simple carbs in it

during workout (gotta be intense. dont puss out) - maybe more simple carbs

post workout - simple carbs and protein

carb loading? If you eat too much too much blood will go to your digestive tract which could lead to some lethargy.

There are so many possible causes. Your immune system could just be fighting something off. You might be vitamin deficient. 45% protein at 2200+ cals is a bit much, try eating more carbs (not before your workout)

Would /fit/ then recommend the following adjustments?:

- keep protein intake at 200 grams per day (I weigh 165 lb), and use the rest of it on carbs during my workout days
- rest a little bit more

And that should do it?

I already do that. =(
