hey /fit/, I decided to lose weight about 4-5 weeks ago, I am 6'6 and weighed about 275-280 at that time, I am about 227 now.

Things I have learned:
Anyone who thinks "diets" work, is a idiot.
The only way to lose weight, is to eat much less and work out till you feel like passing the fuck out.
All artificial food sucks ass.

Anyways, down to business, my /r/ is some good tricep workouts.

They don't, its the excuse of every fucking fat bitch and fat teen to attempt to eat one less piece of pizza a day in the attempts to lose a pound every 3 years, you retarded clown.
>> Anonymous
don't be a retard, your "diet" is just what you eat everday.

Your problem and the problem of so many others is that they think a "diet" is some sort of temporary change where you can become healthy for awhile, then stop and go back to your old habits and somehow keep your progress.

PROTIP: Diet is what you eat every day. What you mean to say is "reduced calorie diet".

If you eat 10 cheeseburgers a day, it's still a diet.
>> Anonymous
OP is actually right, I used to weight about 300 pounds, I would try dieting, I tried almost every diet I knew, and would not lose a pound. Now I didn't work out until I felt like "passing the fuck out" but I did certainly work out until I felt I had done enough to burn off what I ate that day and beyond.

>All artificial food sucks ass.

Give your definition of "artificial" because in reality, most everything we eat is in some way artificial.

Hence the obesity rate in western countries. Whole grains, vegetables, meats, fruits, nuts, organic foods, etc are what I'd say are natural enough to be healthy.

None. I don't do triceps specific exercises, my tris are already worked out on my chest & shoulder day as a secondary muscle.

If you want big triceps thought, you can do skull crushers.

>>317333

Obesity has nothing to do with the food. It's caused by overconsumption and lack of exercise.

>>317317

So you mean stuff like Atkins, South Beach, veganism, Nutrisystem, etc.? Then, yeah, I agree. Those are unnatural diets which restrict important nutrition and starve a healthy body. Most people are so vain and superficial, though, that they don't care about the health and just want to lose weight.

Problem is, 99% of the people on these diets end up with the yo-yo effect because they go into starvation mode. Eventually the body snaps back and says, "HEY, DICKHEAD. WE NEED CARBS N SHIT DAWG, OM NOM NOM NOM TIME TO BINGE FAGET".

Seen it a thousand fucking times. My mom always tries Atkins. My crazy aunt convinced her it works back in like 2003, but my mom is never able to stick with it and only lasts like two months every time. And then I've got two former vegan friends who got all self-righteous about it at first, then we see them chowing down on massive burgers a few months later, so fucking hilarious. The vegan kids were fat to begin with, they lost maybe 10-15 pounds doing vegan, then gained like 30 pounds after their bodies couldn't handle it.

This isn't to say all vegans or fad dieters succumb to this, but the vast majority do.

>>317342

OP here,
Yeah, ive seen it so many times... its so fucking funny when they just cave in and grab some fast food.

I just fucking eat less, intake good amounts of protein and exercise till im fucking sore... fuck man the thing that really cracks me up is when you see people buying diet books, what a fucking joke, I just want to fucking punch them.

The sad truth is most of these idiots who go on diets don't have the willpower to do this, most of my idiot fatass friends (yes I can use the term fatass now and it feels so fucking good to), say to me "holyshit dude you look thin, how did you lose the weight, what was your diet" and im just like eat fucking less work out more idiot.
>> Anonymous !ErY2TknG0w
>>317342
While I do agree that most of those diets are unnatural, some fad diets are based on science but your average person isn't knowledgeable enough to know how to go about it correctly.

Low carb diets for instance have very specific intake rules that most Atkins practitioners totally ignored to their own detriment.

>Obesity has nothing to do with the food. It's caused by overconsumption and lack of exercise.
Technically right, but simplistic in essence. It's alot easier to become obese eating sugary AND fatty foods for instance.

>Obesity has nothing to do with the food. It's caused by overconsumption and lack of exercise.

The unnatural and unhealthy foods that we love so much these days make it extremely easy to consume too much, so I'd say that it is completely relevant. It's a hell of a lot easier to stay thin when you eat carrots as a snack as opposed to cosmic brownies.

Yeah, they say the same thing to me. People act like losing weight is a mystery. In reality, it's simple math.

If you aren't losing weight on your current diet and exercise (if any) plan, obviously you need to further reduce calories and exercise more. Hurr durr. People, for whatever reason, do not get this.

But it's fine. Their ignorance fuels the multimillion dollar fitness industry and their hunger fuels the fast food industries. They at least contribute to the economy.

>How the fuck did you go from 275-280 to 227 in 4-5 WEEKS?

By doing something unnatural and unhealthy which now has apparently become his paradigm for the "real" way to lose weight.

OP is an idiot. Reducing your calorie intake enough will cause you to lose weight. Obviously, it is more effective when done in conjunction with exercise.

The best way to lose weight is to make fundamental changes in your day to day eating and exercise habits. Smaller portions at meals instead of starving yourself. Going for a jog or a walk in the mornings. Small things that you have the willpower to keep doing. Anyone can commit to do something for a month. The challenge is making lifetime changes.

>>317440
>>317440
Where did I say it was fat? I said their stomachs were bloated. If you starve yourself you don't eat food so obviously it isn't going to be bloated from fat, I assumed that was so obvious that I wouldn't have to mention it, but silly me I forgot I was on 4chan.

So my point is still valid; there is a starvation mode.
>> Anonymous
>>317440

Wow. Read. He never mentioned it being fat. All he implied was that a distended belly was an effect of starving.

>>317433

No. You still go into starvation mode. It's when your body conserves energy specifically for your vital functions. You can be on starvation mode while still eating if you aren't eating balanced foods. There is where "protein sickness" comes from, a case in which your body begins starving to death slowly because you aren't consuming any vegetables or carbs. It throws off your metabolism and digestion. This is one reason Atkins diet has people slowly bringing carbs into their eating habits, because eating nothing but protein for too long will result in literally starvation since we are omnivores. In short, you can be starving your body of vital nutrients even though you're still technically getting calories.

>>317410

You gain weight much faster when your body is starving, provided you actually eat at some point. Go from a month without food to eating a Big Mac and all those calories are going to immediately become body fat.

The issue of self-control is irrelevant. That's an extreme example you're using. Your body will begin craving carbs if you lack them, just like it'll begin craving proteins or fats if you lack those. Yes, it's possible to continue to not eat those substances, but it will become increasingly harder over time and eventually you're going to give in to it as an instinctive move.

I'd like to see you cut out all carbs forever. After all, according to you, it's 100% will power and nature does not factor in at all. So I guess you're just a weak willed little faggot bitch if you can't survive on nothing but steak forever (which you can't, protein sickness will kick in eventually).

You're just stating what starvation mode is, you failed to provide any proof of such phenomena.

http://www.calorie-count.com/forums/post/28742.html

You're still going to lose weight even with a low metabolism.

On top of that, ONLY in extreme cases will you ignore what your mind is telling you and go straight to eating what your body is "craving".

All "starvation mode" side-effects are STRICTLY circumstantial.

All I'm saying is that you're not going to start craving shit while you're on these "trendy" diets.
If you're eating the right amounts of calories, fats carbs AND proteins, there's no need to fret.
EVEN WITH A MORE-THEN-NEEDED-CALORIE-DEFICIT.

Oh blah blah stop being such a twat. He was fat and now he is progressing, it's a good thing, congrats.

As for artificial foods... I presume what you mean is highly processed carbohydrates and large amounts of fats. Don't fall for the "organic" trap, it makes no difference to the end product and there is no real science to properly support their arguments that it's healthier (note organic /= additives)

Anyway.

Proceed.

The main problem with diets is that any human begin can't keep them up for a long time. You need to learn what and how to eat, and honestly, none doctor teaches you that. That's something you must learn, how to do it.
So yeah, diets work, but in a short period of time. Obese people have to learn how to eat and keep it up the rest of their (ours) lives. We can't eat like "normal" people do, got to assume that.

Not the OP, just a passerby, thought I'd put in my $0.02.

Just took this snapshot from my WiiFit weight chart (lol wiifit hurr, etc., etc.). Started at 278.4lbs (May 21st) currently at 233.2lbs (Sept. 7th). So I lost 45.2lbs in roughly 16 weeks... basically doing what OP did (not as rigorous as OP, I work 2 jobs, excuses, excuses), but yeah, fatties like myself and OP who wanna stop being fatties do exist /fit/ (gasp!)

But I do disagree, diets/dieting does... work, in the sense that you CHANGE your diet (permanently) rather than IMA GONNA EAT ONLY 1000 CALORIES FOR A MONTH DERP. If you are overweight that means your diet needs a change, not a quick fix otherwise you'll just get fat again (wait, that just sounds like I'm agreeing with you anyway... ah oh well).

Yeah, CHANGE your diet, and fucking keep with it. A month after I made a diet change I said to myself how long is this gonna last, I haven't had pizza or fries in aaaaaaages, but now - nearly 4 months later I'm like I can't eat that shit it'll make me fat!

Also exercise. Obviously I'm not as rigorous as OP, but yeah, makes the weight drop MUCH faster. See how jumbled my graph is at the beginning? Was just doing WiiFit exercises for the first two weeks, would gain-drop-gain-drop. I was fucking fed up. Hopped on my bike and just started doing 6 miles for 30 mins a day (now I do 14 miles for 1 hour a day, yeah, I need to join a gym to build the muscles/change it up, etc., etc., still too pig-disgusting fat to be seen in a gym, self conscious, etc., etc.).

TLDR - HEALTHY DIET AND EXERCISE IS HEALTHY DERP

Foods, high protein breakfast, lighter lunch.

Threw out the day I would do at least 6 sets of incline and flat bench presses, treadmill, dumbells, basketball, swimming and biking.

Since im also a martial arts fag (yea fucking troll me I dont care, its what gave me the discipline to do this shit you assholes) I did all workouts from Bruce Lee's - The Power Of The Dragon ebook (if anyone wants ill upload), which includes, barbell pushes, dumbell punches, the "one handed dumbell drill", isometrics, etc... besides that, I dont know if you would call this a excercise but I attempted to hold my breathing beyond the extent of my body for endurance etc.... meh...

I'm pretty sure most of OP's weight was all the shit clogged up in his intestines over the years he finally shit out from an accelerated metabolism. At least, that's the only way to explain it, because he's been a damn good troll so far.

It's always easier to lose weight when you're a fatass, since all your added weight will help get your heart rate up in a shorter time frame and burn fat more. Then when you finally get to a healthy weight, you'll realize how hard it is to actually lose those last 10lbs and get a lean body with a low body fat %.
