Hey /fit/, I have a a problem. When I was in high school, I was the perfect size. I was (and still am) 6'2" and weighed roughly 180lbs. My body stature was perfect, and I was actually slightly toned. I was comfortable with who I was.

After high school, I moved away from home to go to college; however my FASFA fell through and I was not able to get any kind of financial aid for college, so I began working a full timer and taking one or two classes online. I was so depressed that I put on so much weight. I think it was a combination from being exhausted from work and just generally being so depressed that I didn't care.

I'm really not, lol.

Man, you are going about this all wrong. You are going to eat fucking healthy, you are going to cardio your ass off, and you will lift fucking heavy weights, and it will be awesome. Fuck your gym membership support system crap, and GET HYPED UP.

I was told by one of the PTs there that I shouldn't worry about lifting weights until I lean down, or else I'd just be building muscle under fat. Is this true?

It's true that you'll be building muscle under fat. I fail to see the problem with that. If you really want to get lean ASAP concentrate on the cardio... but that doesn't mean you can't or shouldn't lift as well, with the understanding that a calorie deficit and lots of cardio isn't the situation to make great muscle gains. You can get stronger than you are now while getting leaner, and I recommend it because it's awesome.

What do you know about Hydroxycut? I got it as a gift from a friend, but I'm not sure about it. Any experiences? Also, does my workout regiment seem okay?

All I know about Hydroxycut is that it's totally unnecessary. Hard (totally awesome) work and a good diet will get you there, no question.

If at all possible, you might want to swap the relative sizes of breakfast and dinner.

I'd do my weights before my cardio, and no fucking way I'd spend a full hour on weight training (which is what I assume your "1 hour arms"-type things are). I'd also do legs every other workout rather than doing arms and shoulder/chest seperately.

How long do you think it would take me to lose 100lbs?
