Hey /fit/

I’m a really skinny guy 6‘ 2“ 135lbs. Now, I would like to gain some weight/ muscle in particular I would like to get a decent chest/stomach and some arms to boot. (my legs are fine I bike and walk a ton) Now I’m pretty sure I’m really skinny because I got to bed around 2-4 am every night and end up skipping breakfast since I sleep in so late. Because of this I end up eating about 2 meals a day and snacking a lot. I heard going to bed earlier helps but I’m not sure why since I’ll still be getting 8hrs of sleep. Anyway, with that aside I would like to be at least decent looking come the end of August since school will start up again and it would be nice to actually have some confidence in the way I look physically and maybe get a girl or two. However, I’m not really sure where to start I don’t want to end up looking like the Hulk just something athletic/healthy. I went out and bought some whey protein powder, weight gain stuff, and some creatine. Though I’m not sure in which order I should be taking them…..

Long story short I need some help getting into shape and figuring out what exercises/supplements would be good for me.

supplements are bull shit, lift or do body resistance exercises, i.e. pushups, divebombers, deadleg squats. Do them until you can't any more. Catch your breath and repeat until you can only do about 4 or so pushups/squats etc. You will become unimaginably hungry in a very short period of time. Then just eat everything you see. Repeat this.

to start out you should be doing them for atleast 30minutes every day, sometimes twice a day. I'm up to 1hour in the a.m 1hour at night. Also stretch and run a lot.

That is the dumbest mass building protocol I've ever heard.

OP, what you should do is buy or download Mark Rippetoe's book 'Starting Strength' and follow the instructions therein - google 'starting strength' to get an idea about what I'm talking about.

tl;dr SQUATZ, MOTHERFUCKER

yeah I thought running resulted in weight loss and I don't see how stretching will help either

Yeah OP here I'm downloading the Starting Strength but what about supplements are they really crap? If so I could still take them back I think.

Eat 1g of protein per lb of bodyweight every day. Only supplement you need is whey. Take in extra calories. Good way to do this is through quality fats, such as almonds, fish, olive oil, etc. Eat five or six meals a day. Lift heavy.

I also think you're hot OP.

I would do some dirty, dirty things to you...

If you're motivation is girls, best lesson you can learn is that many, many girls don't care about guys being large. Lots of them, especially younger ones, like skinny guys exactly like you

Ugly girls always comment guys with bad bodies and faces in threads like this. To try and prevent from from progressing. Because it is one less male they have a chance with.

Attractive girls prefer some muscle and a slight tan.

OP speaking. Girls are not my only motivation I would say about half of it. The skinny guy thing flew well in HS but not in college. Being a nice guy (a very very dirty and skilled nice guy)in college means you got to have an amazing body. Anyway, I personally just want to have a larger physique and be in better shape. Not to mention I feel tired and lazy all the time and I think working out would help a lot.

keep the creatine (as long as you got the cheapest kind, otherwise take it back and get the cheapest kind the store has). get rid of the gainer, it's full of sugar. keep the whey. eat moar moar moar!
