Depends on your current weight and fat levels, I suppose.

in b4 limb removal

I would say the healthiest amount to lose is around 8-12lbs a month. Losing 50lbs in three months is like losing 4lbs / week. I'm sure it's 'possible', but whether or not your body will actually do that I am unsure.
Step 1. Cardio
Step 2. Diet
Step 3. ?????
Step 4. PROFIT!

ROFL

I think that it'd be doable, but it'd be really difficult and you'd probably lose some muscle along the way, but I guess if you need to drop 50 pounds you really wouldn't be that muscular anyways.

this.

if you're just regularly overweight and not obese, then the healthiest amount of weight loss you can look forward to is about 2lbs per week.

there are other ways to lose weight faster though, but they're not exactly healthy. and well, this IS a health & fitness board after all so i can't exactly recommend them.

Dammit, anon. You're FAT. nothing is going to change that. stop shitting up FITNESS with your FATNESS.

OP here, im currently 165pounds
5'7 inches

IS THERE ANY HOPE
>> Lil Dreamer !3GqYIJ3Obs!!FIK
>>8606
i certainly hope you're a girl. why a guy would want to be 5'7" 115lbs is beyond me.

in 3 months you can be 141 lbs if you do it healthily. that's a pretty good weight.

..No.

now that i think of it, that is rediculous. It's just that in highschool i was thin, but also really drugged out. after highschool i cleaned up a little, became a hermit and ate a lot more. I want to start going out a lot more now, but i'm so ashamed of how i look now compared to a few years ago. And there's this event my girl really wants to go to (coachella) and it's going to be really hot, i want to be able to walk around without a shirt and feel comfortable, my girl also wants me to lose weight, anyways. 115 is too low now that i think of it. 125 would be good. I really dont want to crash diet, but i have tons of vitamins n shit to try and help me stay somewhat healthy. After i lose the weight i want to start working out and get toned, i just need to get to a low weight in a small amount of time.

>>8557
No, and don't do it like that. Just follow a plan that works for you, where you're losing constantly, whatever the amount is, and you'll get there at some point. Be patient.

Why? What's the deadline for?

5'7" 141 lbs will not look fat at all. trust me.

coachella

hmmm, ok so i should just eat healthy and cardio?
Any food suggestions?
>> Anonymous
>>8658

Just eat less and do more physical activity.

It's really not fucking rocket science. Smaller portions, stay at around 1500 calories a day or 1700 if you're going to do a lot of cardio.

Now, go do it.

Even a girl doesn't need a BMI of 18. Only fucktards are attracted to the skeletons everyone wants to be.

I don't understand the concept of losing WEIGHT. You should be concerned with losing FAT. If you lay in bed all day and are fed through an IV you'll lose tons of weight. Just be sure to turn over ever so often to avoid bedsores. People who worry about the weight number are either idiots or professional fighters trying to cut for the weigh-in.

it is possible, but man... you'd be very very unhealthy. some doctors prescribe crash diets to people whose weight is imposing some sort of threat on the individuals life, and even then said person has to check in with the doctor constantly so he/she can monitor the individuals health.

if you lose more than four pounds a week, it's usually half fat and half muscle mass, even with supplements, so you might want to avoid that. just do a steady diet (eating/exercising) and shoot for two-three pounds a week. it'll be hard, but you'll look/feel much better after three months.
>> Anonymous
op:

it's doable if you put yourself on a really heavy workout routine and you do active things for the rest of the day.

and don't starve yourself. 1500 calories a day with cardio is too little.
>> Anonymous
5'7" 130 lbs is already more than reasonable if you have any semblance of muscle.

Jesus I'm a fucking twig at 5'10" 155 lbs.

Once, for a school project, I went vegan for a month. I lost a pound a day for four days until I adjusted by caloric intake. Of course I was like 18 at the time. Doing the same thing may cause your miraculous weight loss.

Such a weight loss is probably not sustained. Prepare to feel like shit all the time. I do not in any way recommend this.

you're an idiot! >>Even a girl doesn't need a BMI of 18.
Implying girls are suppose to have a lower body fat percentage then men. Jesus GTFO before someone takes your advice.
>> Anonymous
>>8804
They are, girls look like shit when they're fat, and fat or bulky guys can still look great.
>> Anonymous
>>8814
NO their not! girls body's are vastly different from mens. A male thats 165 and has a BMI of 11% looks like a 'jacked' runner, while a girl at 110 and 11% BMI looks like she's going to die!
>> Lil Dreamer !3GqYIJ3Obs!!FIK
>>8824
pssst. i think you're confusing BMI with bodyfat percentage.
>> Anonymous
3 months is about 84 days.

Just take out your calendar. Write down 84 on today. Each day that you eat well and exercise, knock down a day. If you have an average day, leave it blank. If you fuck up and pig out, add a day.

At the end of 84 days if you eat right and exercise you should be able to lose anywhere from 24 to 60lbs.

Judging for your weight, you should expect to lose about 30lbs, if I'm guessing your fat levels correctly, if you stick to it well and dont have many bad days.

Body mass index (BMI) is a measure of body fat based on height and weight that applies to both adult men and women.

BMI is a measure of body composition based on height and weight that applies to virtually no-one outside of a laboratory thought experiment.
>> Lil Dreamer !3GqYIJ3Obs!!FIK
>>8851
umm no it's not. Body Mass Index (BMI) is a number calculated from a person's weight and height.

it has nothing to do with the amount of bodyfat one has.
>> Anonymous
>>8856
Which is why it's useless. People who have muscle are going to way more than someone the same size who is just fat.

There are special machines (I think something to do with water if I remember high school health class correctly) that will calculate it but it's not a simple equation.
>> Lil Dreamer !3GqYIJ3Obs!!FIK

hydrostatic body-fat testing/weighing.

>>8851

BMI is a ratio of height and weight, not fat.

Almost every professional athlete is morbidly obese by BMI standards, because muscle is heavier than fat.

Or air-displacement, or X-ray body composition analysis, if you're super fancy.

Or calipers if you're cheap like me. They're fucking close enough.

It's easily doable, it'll all be mental endurance though because I'm assuming you're a fatass that's in the habit of stuffing your face. Drink no soda eat no fast food limit your chips and you'll be fine, just run 3 miles once a day 5 days a week.

BMI is your weight-heigth ratio.
>> Anonymous
Should be easily doable, just stop drinking for 2 days right before the event, you will lose something around 50 pounds.
Actually that is a really bad idea, but it can be done, you should aim for something around 1-3 lbs per week, much faster than that is just stupid and very dangerous for your health.
So, just clean up your diet and start working out, you wont make 50 pounds in 3 months, but you will lose some weight (around 25 pounds maybe, if you do good) and you will feel better.
