Push Ups Anonymous
I was wondering, what kinds of/how many push ups does /fit/ do?

I can do about 20-25 regular pus ups.

About 10-15 Diamond (posistion your hands in the shape of a diamond).

About 10 clapping push ups (you push you self up in the air and clap your palms together and come back down.

About 10 Kong Push ups (do a push up, then beat your chest with one fist while holding your self up with your other arm in push up position, alternate every push up).

and about 30 with dumbbells to support my arms which allows me to go deeper.

What about you /fit/?

I can do 25-27 normal pushups. And 17 low deep pushups with a chair for my toes, and a chair for each hand. You go down as far as you can, then back up. I've never counted diamond, clapping, or kong pushups.

before i could afford using weights for bench and squatz i did about 300 pushups in sets of 50, deep ones, elevated feet, with a backpack on, tried doing handstand ones but that failed hard.
I dint see fuck all gains in muscle size but your stregnth will get much fooking better, now i can only do about 23 in a row and i fail

you meant endurance not strength

I've never understood the difference between muscular endurance and muscular strength. Would you explain it to me?
>> Anonymous
>>263834
endurance = you could do 50 push ups in one set
strength = you could do 1 push up with 3 girls on your back (or something like that)

Your explanation is sadly too simple to really tell me anything about it.

60 pushups going down to 90 degrees. 100 if I cheat.
10-12 one armed.
>> Anonymous
>>263884

uh... you do a handstand, then you continue to do a handstand while you let yourself down by bending your elbows until your head is almost at the floor, then you push back up into a handstand with your arms straight.
You either work on your handstands until you're comfortable enough to do them or cheat and do them against a wall.

I usually do sets of 30.

Most ive done is 50 normal pushups. I only weigh about 155 pounds though, so thats pretty meh i guess.

I do 200 after doing my weighted chest exercises. Hurts like hell but does wonders.

I like jackknifes, they really work. 10 on each side and you feel like you've done 40 regular pushups, great for core.

20, then i die for a while. training to do 100 in one go (and yeah im doing that hundredpushups.com training schedule)

25 Chair pushups, its like an incline pushup but you have two chairs set out with a table, so youre holding the seats of the two chairs with your feet on the table. It allows you to go a lot deeper than you can on the ground or on stands.

50 Pushups
20 Widearms
12 Finger Pressups
30 Incline Pressups

60 or so? I have fat on me and I went in for a fitness test and I just popped out 60 and the fitness examiner was like o.O because i'm sure he was thinking "overweight fuck he'll prolly do 20"

i scored in the above world average range for situps, heart rate recovery, and pushups

just fail on the hamstring flexibility :(

The only pushups any of you should be doing are burpees. That is pretty much the most perfect bodyweight exercise that exists. Between those, bicycle crunches, pullups, dead lifts, and squats, you have an entire workout.

Or an ass beating. Burpees alone are great for burning fat.

Since I'm trying to tone my body up, I noticed that my upper chest was really hard to access, so I started doing more pushups.

I did two hundred regular pushups a day, but that just wasn't cutting it.

I decided that I had to start doing weighted pushups.

Now I'm doing two hundred pushups (in reps of twenty of course) with fifty pounds on my back, and I'm finally noticing the difference.

45 in one session. I'm doing the one hundred push ups program atm, so hopefully within the next few weeks one hundred..
