Hello /fit/ Anonymous
So I'm 5'8, and I weight between 213-220, and I'm also in the air force. I want to maintain air force fitness (55 pushups, 55 situps, <40" waist, <13:00 minutes on 1.5 mile run) and look good in uniform, but to be honest I don't think doing a workout for them is going to be a good motivation for me. So, I want to be healthier, and physically stronger, and maybe get my waist down from the 41" it is now to a manageable 35" . I thought I'd start by doing some good calisthenics that I can do at home (in front of the TV, how do you think I got up to 220 in the first place?) in addition to running outside/ moderate diet.

So do you all have any good calisthenic exercises I can do at home?

Pic related, isn't me but might as well be.

one leg pistols - hold books for balance, stick one leg leg out, ass to the ground, com back up. go down slowly, try not to wobble. these are evil but amazing for your legs, and they do your abs like crazy but you wont even realize. i could do 24 sit-ups in a row about 2-3 months ago, i haven't done a single one, NOT ONE for 2-3 months but i did 40 just now.

if your 220 pounds they might be really fucking hard by the way, im 170 and they are still pretty evil. use your hands and pull on a doorframe to get up at first, thats how i got my right leg working. i could do 2 right off the bat with my left, its a bitch to get them even but you cant go mashing away with one side.

Way to state the obvious...faggot.

OP: Why the fuck are you asking /fit/izens what their take is? Go to the HAWC or the base gym. There are plenty of people who the gov't pays good money to help you out w/ nutrition and exercise. ESPECIALLY, after the AF went batshit crazy over fitness (or lack thereof).

Here's a start, this is what ppl who failed the PT test in my squadron had to do (Mon-Fri, rain or shine, no fucking excuses):

1st Week: 10 sets of 10 pushups & sit ups, 30 min run (every day you do this = 30 min run)
2nd Week: 9 sets of 13
3rd: 8 sets of 15
4th: 7 of 17
5th: 6 of 20
6th: 5 of 20
7th: 4 of 30
8th: 3 of 40
9th: 2 of 50
10th: 1 of 60

If you eat right and do the exercise, there's no reason you shouldn't smash the AF PT test (which isn't hard to begin w/ anyway).
