Hello /fit/. Looking for some opinions tonight.

I'm about to start training in mma again. They offer multiple classes. It's $70 a month for each one.

Muay Thai 3x a week, Submission (Krav Maga, BJJ) 2x a week, Judo 2x a week, Boxing 2x a week, and wrestling 2x a week.

Thomas "Wildman" Denny also has a team that trains a couple nights a week at this place, but you have to try out for it. Don't think I'm ready yet.

Anyway, here is where I need input. I'm pretty tall (6'6) light heavyweight (215). Decent striker, lame takedowns, limited groundfighting. Any thoughts on what I should start with? Start learning more at what I suck at, or focus on my strengths? I intend to start taking two classes.

Also, I'm ruling out boxing because it's something I'm already decent at.

Pic related.

Not advice, friend, just some outside opinions and thoughts.

if you really want to learn the basics of ground locks and grappling, and how to do really basic effective take downs. (dont know how effective theyd be in mma due to the ability to strike.) then take free style, folk style, and greco roman wrestling. it will not teach you how takedown really well, but maybe not the right style of takedowns for mma. not sure...

sorry theres a typo in the post i just put up, those 3 forms of traditional wrestling WILL teach you how to take down really well

Yeah the only takedowns I can manage are single and double legs, hiptoss and a sweep.
I'll be honest, the only one of those styles I've heard of is Greco-Roman. What the shit are the others?

i think you're better off training with a club/school instead of a 'team' that you have to try out for.

Lessons are at a club/school. The team is Wildman's...well, team. They train seperately. If you want to train with them/get on the team, you have to try out.
