Ok, with that out of the way, I'm writing a paper for my Research Methods class about the relationship between exercise and music. One of the reasons why peoples' workouts are better when they listen to music is because it distracts them from the unpleasant feelings associated with exercise. I'm guessing since MJ is used for pain relief, the unpleasantness and pain of running was reduced for you, allowing you to run longer and/or faster.
You really shouldn't rely on weed or music all the time to get you through a workout though. Doing without builds mental toughness. Just something to keep in mind.
