Dude, waaaaaaaaaay too many simple carbs in that diet... fuck sakes, also needs more protein, if you REALLY want the BEST shot at losing that weight, check this book out, it will at LEAST teach you a good diet plan if nothing else.

http://rapidshare.com/files/121796184/Burn_The_Fat_Feed_The_Muscle_-_Tom_Venuto.rar

But if you're a lazy fucker and won't read, to lose weight, make sure you do some form of cardio everyday to burn fat/calories (in the morning after you wake up is best, fasted cardio doesn't have to make you burn through glycogens, goes straight to fat), and do a lifting program to burn more fat/calories (indirectly, fat burning occurs after the workout throughout the day)... also, eat 6 small meals a day, eat lean protein with each meal, drink tonnes of water and cut your caloric intake by 500-1000 a day.

You won't eat/cook meat? Then you don't really have a chance, or rather... you're stacking the odds MORE against you. Enjoy your insanely more difficult task.

I agree with this guy. Proper nutrition should be a part of this plan.

Aside from simple carbs & subway which have been mentioned, not too horrendous.
you may want to cut the cheese stick (milk has more protein and less calories&fat), and I personally would ditch the tofu, but I realise that'd be hard.

Tofu is a good protein, but if that's ALL he plans to eat to get his protein, he will fail... he needs a lot of lean protein (fish, chicken, turkey, etc)... tofu alone won't give him what he needs. I love tofu btw, I just wouldn't rely on it because it lacks a lot of GOOD things your body needs.

P.S. Milk is good, but don't forget milk is also a simple carb, sort of, it has lactose which is a sugar... if you are gonna go for milk, make it 1% (I personally get 1% Lactose free milk and eat 1% Cottage cheese, that is the only dairy I consume)

Dude, the vegetarians will have to deal with it, your health is at stake. If you're serious, then you'll have to eat some meat bro. You have a big task ahead of you, probably at least a 6-8 month job if you go at it vigorously... I suggest reading the book anon provided a swell, losing weigh tis hard, there's so much info out there it fucks you up... this book is the definitive NO BS approach to losing weight. It advocates hard work, that is all.

I do eat meat, I would just rather not cook it in our house out of courtesy. Will tofu and lentils not replace the amount of protein in chicken?

And I do cardio, maybe not as much as I should, but I'm working up there. I walk/jog at least a mile a day after work (I go in at 4am most days) and at least 3 times a week ride my bike around 5 miles. I also do the basic at home stuff, such as cunches, situps, pushups, as well as rows and pulldowns on a machine, and curls and triceps with dumbbells. Previous posts have lead me to believe I need to shed at least 30 or so pounds before even attempting HIIT or similar intense workouts.

I've just finished downloading that e-book and will read through it, thank you.

Tofu's okay protein, not great. Plant protein is massively inferior to animal protein, but you've got to work with what you've got.
As for losing weight before attempting HIIT or whatever, ignore that. Go for it, the only differences weight makes are exactly same for normal cardio too
tl;dr: Eat meat & care for knees.

soy protein spike estrogen levels, which interfere with fat loss. get deli meats like turkey or chicken breast for protein, or even get a decent whey protein. lentils, lol.

So is that it? My not eating copious amounts of chicken and fish is what will hinder me from attaining the results I want? I understand the principle of eating more protein to gain muscle to burn more fat, but come on, there must be more suggestions on how to alter my diet than that.

Can I get some thoughts on foods with complex carbs to replace the simple ones?

Lol. howdy.

Sorry, guys, I only got past the intro, then had to go retrieve my bike from the grocery store. I couldn't fit the bags on the shitty rack I bought for that purpose and ended up walking the 4 miles home.
