Sore + Advil? Anonymous

If I am sore, is it good or bad to take advil? I heard it slows down the recovery process or bypasses it.

The problem is that I am so sore I skipped working out yesterday, and I don't want to skip again; any advice?

Taking advil is fine, but it won't magically rebuild your muscles. If you're so sore that you're having second thoughts about hitting the weights again, taking an extra day off will be good for you. Remember, your muscles grow during the recovery period.

I know it won't rebuild them, but what I am asking is the opposite: will it hinder muscle regeneration due to the anti-inflammatory properties of advil?

Also, my routine for today is for my chest/triceps -- my legs/lower back is what's sore.

Think I should risk it?

this is what you do

Take a hot shower after 5 minutes or so switch to cold water that's acceptable. Then switch to hot do it couple times. I kinda sucks but soreness will be gone

Also, is working out while on an Opiate a bad idea?
