Cold Water Swimming Anónymous
I live in a city in north-east Scotland which sits on the North Sea, the temperature of which is between 12-16°C (53-59°F) at this time of year.

I would really like to swim in it as part of my exercise regime.

Will the cold temperature benefit or hinder my progress in terms of fitness, should I choose to wear just swimming trunks?

Should I wear a wetsuit or something?

Go fuck some sheep.

Edinburgh here :P

The cold will force your body to use more energy as it needs to heat the body back up to core temperature. Basically, yes it will slightly improve your progress if you can handle it, its pretty fucking cold as it is down here.

As for attire, GO NUDE!

Swimming in cold water will make you very, very, very, extremely fucking hungry afterwards.

Is this guy legit?

Why is that?

Probably because you burn through anything and everything to keep itself warm. The downside is this COULD be muscle (or mussle if you are a fag). Whether or not sufficient protein beforehand will counter this, i dont know. Try asking a kineisologist.

A wetsuit would make it like swimming in almost normal water. though i would just go nude.

On a completely unrelated topic.

I've read that peanut butter contains good ammounts of protein.

Which is better, Smooth or Chunky? and why?

Dont buy Sun-pat if thats the brand you mean. By peanut butter they mean peanuts as the only ingredient, sunpat peanut butter has cane sugar in it.
