Hello /fit/ I have been getting horrid acne on my chin, like underneath the skin and it is very hard to get rid of it, And it is very noticeable.

Is there any way to prevent it? It keeps coming back every other week, and is quite bothersome and ugly. Could my eating habits or hygiene be causing this?

Yes, not so much as lifting weights, but a lot of push ups/sit ups/crunches/ etc pretty much nightly.

Should I cut back on them?

make sure you exhale as you lift, otherwise you will cause flushing of your face and that inflames the skin and causes acne.

just keep on

make sure to clean your face before and after sleep, it should level out

when i first started i remember i got really bad acne, but its pretty much reduced to just a little bodily acne

Thanks, I will keep that in mind, I usually don't shower at night, guess I should start to. Guess falling asleep sweaty is kind of a dumb thing to do...

Yeah you should shower after you work out, because dried sweat contains urea and it can irritiate your skin if your skin remains moist. the skin on the face tends to get oily at night.

do you take medication for it? tetracycline works very well for me with trentinoin. if you take anything make sure you're consistent and don't skip days. if you don't and find this to be a big issue, maybe you should start.

No, I dont use anything for acne, I used to use just like those cheap Oxy pads, but I got allergic reactions to them, and many other brands, so I use nothing...

If it does persist I will look into it, because if it is just due to poor hygiene I don't want to waste to much money on medication right away...

abusing antibiotics like tetracycline can lead to resistant infections. antibiotics do work for some acne, but they should be a last resort.

OP, your acne may be from ingrown hairs. especially since you're a guy in puberty. put a thin layer of vaseline on your face after showering and it will reduce the redness.

Hmm, could be, I will try that as well after I shower or shave.

Try swabbing the area with rubbing alcohol once a day, perhaps after you shave. It's cheap!
