I'm trying to run again after a long break due to lazyness. I weight 269 right now, but before when I was running I was down to 254, which was a 16 pound loss. So I was doing good until I got lazy again.

So I started back up running, and the same problem that has always plagued me hit again. After about 3-5 minutes of running, I start to feel this really cold, almost stabbing pain right between my shoulder blades.

I don't think its asthma or anything because I never heave or anything, but its this really deep, unsettling pain.

What could it be?

Pain between the shoulder blades?

a) Weak back.
b) some shit that should be resolved by visiting a doctor.

Well, I got an athletic physical about a year ago for high school wrestling, which I promptly dropped during conditioning because my body couldn't handle what they wanted the seniors to do. I'm sorry but I can't run 2 god damn miles without stopping at all lol.

Anyway, I don't think its a problem that a doctor is required to fix.

If its a weak back, what are some exercises I could do to fix this? And please excuse the ignorance here, but why would a weak back cause me pain while running?

You are moving your hands constantly forward and backwards.

Your back is keeping you stable, so that you don't fall, as a matter of fact, it doesn't really matter what you do, ~75% of the muscles in your body are going to do some work.

Go do pull ups, bent over rows... ect.

Hahaha, pull ups and me? Not very likely lol. Far too weak/heavy for that still.

I've tried to do Bent Over Rows in the past, but I felt like I was doing them wrong and I was gonna hurt myself, so I stopped. I think there is a video somewhere of how to do them properly

There are ways to strengthen yourself to do pull ups.

You tube. You'll find any exercise you ever wanted to see on there.

damn OP whatever you do, dont quit again. youll gain even more than what you were at. and if they are sharp deep pains it might be just that youre out of shape. if youre running in the cold and you feel that pain then its normal i get that sometimes.

stick your stomach out when you jog you are sucking in while you jog and the accumulated bodyfat plus sucking in means you aren't getting good breaths also only breathe through your nose.....many people think you suck your stomach in to take a deep breath this is wrong :)
