sup /fit/, pic unrelated

in the near future i will be having jaw surgery which will involve SAWING MW JAW OFF HOLY SHIT and repositioning it, to fix a nasty overbite and speech/eating problems.

my surgeon expects me to be on a liquid diet for 2-3 weeks (longer than average i hear), so i was wondering how to do this without being too unhealthy. i asked the surgeon about what i should drink, but he pretty much just said 'gatorade and soup lul'

i'm about 5'3 and 115 pounds, so i can afford to lose maybe 5 pounds but i really want to try to keep my weight up during all this. so, what should i drink to keep healthy while my jaw is banded shut? i'm lactose intolerant as well. fun times.

Try tomato soup, and all kinds of MASHED veggie soups. Oh, and if youre afraid of the bad taste, well half a jar of chili works. No really, i once hurt my jaw so bad they taped it shut so i lived the week on tomato soup.

tomato soup and most veggie soups are kind of low in calories, aren't they? i'm trying to get a lot of calories in not too much food.. so i don't have to be 'eating' all the time, heh

I don't know, mix up some weight gain powder or something.

Honestly, your solution is this:
Get a blender.
Blend everything you'd normally eat.

protein shakes, milk, blended almonds/hazelnuts, ...

Yeah if you want a broken blender

protein shakes... add things like oatmeal, peanut butter, frozen berries, hell at your weight even a bit of ice cream honestly wouldn't hurt.

make soup out of chicken broth and vegetables, that can also be blended... any good general cookbook will have plenty of blended soups.

I think you missed the part of OP's post where she said she was lactose intolerant. Most protein powder is made from whey, a milk by-product. OP needs to make sure that she gets protein that is derived from egg whites.
