Sup /fit/.

I think I'm anaemic. Dizziness when I stand up, fainted a couple times, shortness of breath palpitations and basically just tiredness. I think it's got to do with my diet, causing iron deficiency.

I'm terrified of needles however, ever since I was a child and something went wrong with one of the crappy doctors that I went to, so blood tests are out of the question.

Now, I ask of you, can I safely take iron supplements and see if it goes away?

Can't be in that great shape at 61kg.

Well it's not like I'm a fat blob that's dragging around tons of fat, causing the tiredness, that's all I wanted to say.

So anyway, any side effects of taking iron without doctors advice?

How do you know you're anemic if you haven't gotten blood tests?
Did you just diagnose yourself?

rea meat.
Get the steak diet.

You need to get a blood draw, there are several key factors that indicate iron deficiency anemia. Also, *most* IDA occurs from females due to menstruation and the resulting blood loss. So please just go to your doctor!

suck it up - be an adult - and get a blood test. There is no substitute. Almost nobody likes needles; but there are just some things we have to do. Just look the other way. Ask if you can lay down while you look the other way if you have to. I have a huge problem with getting my blood drawn; I even passed-out once... but I still did it and when my liver panel showed-up abnormal a couple years ago I had to keep going back every other week until it was normal again. You do what you have to do to protect your health.

Suck it up.

"Now, I ask of you, can I safely take iron supplements and see if it goes away?"

OP provided solution, this is no different from asking if diet coke's healthier than normal coke.

And I dunno. I read you get diarrhea from exces iron.
