Hello /fit/, just plain curiosity.I gained 4 lbs this week. 142 to 146. I was quite surprised. I wanted to gain weight so i choose a 6meal per day regime to raise my caloric and proteinic intakes.Just wondering, in general, is it fat or muscle gain? The only supplements i use are protein supplements. My routine consists mostly of hypertrophy exercises.Pic is not me, but she looks hot in my opinion.
It could be water weight gain. Unfortunately fluctuations of 1-5 pounds are pretty common so it's too early to really tell.It's best to measure these things with a training journal. If gross weight climbs 2-3 weeks in a row and all your lifts are going up then you have a pretty good idea that you gained muscle.Weight is just weight and could be a number of things.

Only real way to tell is by measuring your body fat percentage.
