hey /fit/

i'm 5'8" and 173 lbs. i started lifting weights regularly in september and am now pretty well off in the strength department. however, i'm kinda flabby. like 22.5% body fat according to my last test.

i realize that i need to cut the fat, and to do that i'm going to have to start eating better and doing more aerobic shit.

to get the ball rolling with this, i plan to start running a mile a day. i currently run a ~7:30 mile maybe once every couple weeks. is this fine or should i be doing something different?

pic horribly unrelated

A mile isn't that long of a run so be sure to steadily increase it over time. Also, cut your saturated fats and refined sugars. Your muscles are like calorie furnaces so feed them with complex carbs and protein.

A 7:30 mile shows that your condition is not shit. The 5 minute kilometer is used in my country as what you should be able to do if you're of average fitness.

Anyway, for the first 40 minutes or so of running you're burning mostly carbs. You'll need to go for long endurance runs to really get rid of fat. That or HIIT (sprints).
