hello /fit/
i has acne
what do i do?

not looking for an overnight treatment, there is none, i know
just the most effective way to get rid of it
>> Anonymous
oh, btw.
i have fair skin
also extremely oily, pretty much no possible way it could dry out.
so no worries :3
>> Anonymous
Wash 2 times a day, but keep the cleanser gentle and don't leave it on for more than 20 seconds. Use an alcohol of sorts, then use a moisturizer once it dries.

Repeat.

diet definitely plays a role in acne. avoid high fructose corn syrup and sugary shit.

go to the store and look for any product that has benzol peroxide in it. this is what is going to help your acne. if it doesn't have the benzol in it then don't get it

use oil-free moisturizers if you must, but you must moisturize. Bacteria love the stuff you excrete.

I am your god. I am water based and totally gentle. I moisturize as I cleanse. I will never aggravate acne. Use me in conjunction with any other treatment you wish.

My store-brand variants are exactly the same and just as good for cheaper too. Feel free to use either of us.

Try an elimination diet, you may be having a mild allergic reaction to something like milk, yeast, or something else.

>>245522
Ummm, you are on antibiotics and have topical treatment already? If that's not working, you aren't doing it right.

Stick with it and NEVER WAVER FROM THE PRESCRIBED INSTRUCTIONS, give it 6 months or so and you should start to see reduction.

acne.org fixed me in a matter of days. I tried proactive but that was waaay too harsh.

sigh acne is mostly caused by clogged pores when the sebum gets trapped, not bacteria,

to OP like someone else who is smart said, wash two times a day with a gentle cleanser noncomedogenic oil free, use hands not a rough wash cloth, warm tepid water, rinse off with cool water to close your pores, moisturize =again with a oil-free noncomedogenic product.

I have very mild acnne, im on 500mg's of oxytetracycline every 12 hours. shits working well.
I also use Garnier anti-bacterial facial wash, that with the pills has cleared me up pretty good, no more real spots any more. Even when i do get them just leave them and they are gone within 2 days.

If acne isnt caused by backteria, then why do they give you ANTI-BIOTICS to treat it?
1/10 trolling ability.
>> Anonymous
>>245550
everyone has a shit ton of bacteria, it's just a matter of the environment you give them.

If your pores are clogged then they're gonna fill up with the stuff.
>> Anonymous
>>245539
yes, the basic forms of acne mostly. but the cases that don't go away with regular treatment (which are the cases we discuss here) typically involve bacterial issues, that's why FUCKING DERMATOLOGISTS WHO KNOW MORE THAN SIGHING IMAGBOARD LURKERS PRESCRIBE ANTIBIOTICS ALL THE FUCKING TIME FOR THESE CASES!!

I do hope you were trolling, good sir.

I had extreme acne on shoulders and back when i was a kid, allso started to get it on the face when i started on prescripted medication for that shit, over a summer (like 2 - 3 months 1 pill a day) i was as smoth as a babys ass!

Ok so I know the efect probably differ from one another, but I still recomend you ask around about it.

Accutane. Only if you've had acne for YEARS and you've tried everything of the above.

5. Use the Cleasaril 3 day shit daily.

Uhg Tazorac? My Dermo gave me that at one point and it made my skin look and feel like a really bad sunburn 24/7. Could only stand it for a few days since even talking was unbearably painful.

Been using strictly benzol peroxide twice a day and it's at least under control now, but if i miss even one application i have a break out...shit sucks....

I refuse to take Accutane due the huge number of side effects.
>> Anonymous
>>245854
And completely fuck up your skin's chemistry so it has no idea when to create oil and when not to, so the moment you skip a single step, you're breaking out like mad.
>> Anonymous
Try the oil cleansing method. You basically use a mix of olive oil and castor oil, and a lot of heat (steam or hot water) to clean the pores out. The castor oil dissolves the old hardening oil stuck in the pores, and the heat sweats out the rest. It has the advantage over soaps in that your skin doesn't start over producing oils after wards increasing your risk of an outbreak.

Birthcontrol in the pill form does a LOT of good towards clearing up skin. (You can get FREE birthcontrol at planned parenthood, fyi.)

I use that, plus Aveeno foam facial scrub for acne as well as this interesting little japanese bath towel that a friend brought back with her for everyone she knew.

It can be found almost anywhere online - or at a local asian market. Usual price is about $3.
It DOES kinda hurt if you're not used to it - but the scratchiness scrubs off dead skin cells and over time it helps clear up your skin all over your body. (I also had pretty consistant "bacne" and it cleared up within weeks. Getting a zit anywhere on my body or face is rare now. I never thought I'd be able to say such a thing. :)

Using birth control for pimples is just fucking stupid.

Can you guess the MAIN purpose of using it? Less acne is just a great bonus side-effect.

Just saying Accutane does work though, from personal experiences.

I've had some bad side effects, like depression and suicidal thoughts, but personally, I think it was worth it. My face is smooth (but still red, will go away in a month or so), and before, my face was godawful. Like 5x worse than OP.

OP - Best to check with a dermatologist, but just try washing your face the store cleaners, like Cetaphil or Phisoderm. You might not need Accutane if it goes away with daily cleaning and by drinking lots of water. Personally, avoid products with Avoid products with salicylic acid. Some people say it works, but it only made it worse for me and it burns like hell.

Hey OP, I used to have acne, I had the worst case like Itagaki.

The only way it's gonna go away is with Accutane, I've been taking the stuff for about a year now, heres what my face looks like now.
I still have some acnes on my shoulders, but I haven't really been taking my meds seriously for some months.

Like, I went from having a cookie face with huge acne all over my body to just having some scars on my face.

These are my favorite.

If your skin is extra oily, you've probably been drying it out too much with harsh cleansers. Quit that. I started using the Mary Kay Timewise formula and it works really well for me. Everything I tried before that was way too astringent. So it might be worth a try.

THANK YOU FOR REMINDING ME THAT I DON'T HAVE A BOYFRIEND YOU USEFUL ADVERTISEMENT
>> Anonymous
I heard accutane works, but is it an over the counter drug?
>> Anonymous
>>245962

Haha, nope, you have to get approved after taking a series of other drugs and then your doctor gives you the script and you pay a shit load of money for the pills.
It was practically half a year before they gave me the damn things.
>> Anonymous
>>245962
no, read up on it before even considering it. it should really be the last resort.

+1

Thank you. I just bought some because the shit I've been using (Clean & Clear Deep Action Cream Cleanser) doesn't work for my mild acne.

Eat less shit.
Sweat Less.
Cut fringe.
Wash more.

If above fails kill self.
>> Anonymous
Although you should cut out pop and anything else sugary you eat or drink - just because its bad as all hell for you, my dermatologist incited that a bigger threat is dairy. And honestly the second I cut out applying cheese on everything, a lot of my acne cleared up. But it didn't clear it all up.

You will just have to try everything everybody recommends and see what works for you, some people just got the shitty luck of the draw and have to wait until genetics says to stop it, mine stopped around late 17.

Toothpaste works.
