Hey /fit/

I've been wondering about this for awhile now. What's the fastest a person can put on weight?

At the moment my diet is very healthy. I don't eat out (apart from the stuff below) and nearly all of my meals are low in calories. I eat a lot of fruit and veg and only drink water. Very, very little chocolate and other unhealthy stuff.

However every so often if I go away for a weekend, I totally leave my healthy diet behind. I eat out a lot (indian/chinese, etc, although I do cook at home too) and I eat chocolate and stuff like that without really worrying about my calorie intake. This usually from a friday to a monday.

I usually do this for about one weekend a month, if that. I always do a longer workout for the week after I get back and go straight back to my healthy diet.

Is this a really bad thing to do, or is it good to have a weekend that you can go wild on? I'm going to probably cut it down to one take away meal the next time I go away, but I just wanted to know how easy it is to gain weight and how an unhealthy weekend can have an effect on weight loss/management.

Cheers!

it's, like, .5-1 lb of muscle per month

3500 calories per lb of fat.

Different people have different metabolism rates. As for myself, I can eat unhealthy every day and not gain a lb, but you should know how much unhealthy food you yourself can eat before gaining weight. I don't think eating unhealthy for a weekend will kill you.

I'm really sorry, could you explain this? I don't really understand.

Yeah. If I cut my calorie intake down a lot, I drop weight really quickly. However, I can put it on quite quickly too (I think). I can never work out whether I've put weight on or not after eating badly for a weekend. I feel like I have but everybody I ask (even people I know will give me an honest answer) say I'm imagining it.

So you can see why I have a problem with this.

I'll just eat sensibly and not risk it, I think.
