Punch quicker? Uh, from what I remember those are your reflex muscles, I'd say repetition.

Practice.

Psychologically, think about just "letting it happen." Don't pull back or think to far ahead. Just punch.

Can I be honest for one second? Hitting speed is more about timing and lots of sparring than actual speed. Guys who look fast really aren't that much more fast than anyone else, it's just that they know what you are doing before you do it, and show up with a fist in your face. It seems fast, but if you are telegraphing and not relaxing and paying attention, the other guy will "appear" faster.

You learn by trying. Practice on the sand bag and try to punch fast. Repeat a few million times.

Amateur Muay Thai fighter here, try plyometrics, but normally hand speed is genetic, obviously you're never going to be as fast as a prime Roy Jones Jr, no matter how much training you do.

Seconded, you should feel the punch start from your core. Also, practice punching with weights. Do a couple sets of 100X strikes with a 1 or 2 pound hand weight, and add it into your regular workout.

Much of your punch speed comes from the part where you think. A highly skilled martial artist has a reaction time in the order of a sixth of a normal person's. They punch 'faster' by starting the punch at the exact right time.

Muscle memory provides most of the rest. The more automatic your punches are, the fster they'll go.

You might find some gain from punching with handweights until you can punch at full speed with them. This will make it feel faster, at least.

Biggest thing: Practice.

Karate masters weren't born with some super-human trait, they disciplined their bodies over millions of punches and kicks until throwing a knock-out punch came as easily as breathing.

Only if you ignore proper form. If OP was hyper-extending his arm before adding the weights then he should go take a month of Martial Arts and learn the basics.
