alright /fit/. I'll try.

I'm overweight. 5'9, 230ish pounds, I feel like crap, I don't feel attractive, and want that to change.

But its one of those catch 22s. I feel like crap and rarely have the energy to move more. There are NO gyms for a good hour's drive where I live. Its the goddamn middle of febuary, so running is more punishment than exercise, and even then, lots of people around here with lots of... enthusiastic dogs. I have a desk job (Front desk, no less, so I'm cockblocked from even doing piddly little exercises while I work)

I don't really have any friends, so I can't just say "hai lets exercise together so its easier" and rather than getting enraged by all the horror stories on this board like some healthfags, it just depresses me.

Plus, most of the tips I see on this board are summed up with "Become your own personal cook, with 3 hours at least of food prep per day", "Stop eating things that you think taste good, eat the same thing all the time. And that same thing is salad, no dressing." and "Insert whole bunch of nonsensical acronyms and shit and point out that even the most retarded of healthy people understand these basic concepts."

Oh, and the whole "Your life, job, diet, genetics, geographical location, personality, and hobbies are making you fat. Throw it all away."

Otherwise you wouldn't be posting something asking what to do on the Internet. You know that if you want to lose weight, you need to walk an hour a day, stop eating junk food and start grilling chicken breasts instead. There are hundreds of fitness sites on the Internet, and you can get info from any of them if you really need it.

But you're just procrastinating and whining on 4chan. Fat people always make posts like these. If you want to lose the weight badly enough, stop talking about it and just go do it.

Yeah, just exercise at home. Even 10 minutes in the morning and evening would be a good start. For cardio you can do jogging on the spot or running up and down a flight of stairs. Start toning up with pushups, tricep dips (use the edge of a couch or sturdy chair), squats, and calf raises. You can do isometric exercises using walls, a towel, or your own body resistance. A really good exercise is to hold a chair out horizontally at arm's length by two of its legs, get into a squat position, and up again. Repeat. It's squats, and works your shoulders and forearms like a bitch!

tl;dr: Work out at home and in your back yard. When the weather gets better you can start jogging. Buy some free weights for home use and you'll be on the way.

A month after my twentieth birthday, something snapped, I joined a gym, and began working out regularly and eating healthily. Haven't stopped since then. It came from inside of me. Buy Tom Venuto's book, Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle. It'll tell you exactly what foods are available to you and how much you should eat. Also, it comes with a giant-ass recipe book. I recently started a very healthy diet and it is plenty tasty (and I'm not even trying to cherry pick the good foods). You say you don't want to eat the same things every day; that is the tag line of someone who loves food WAY too much to lose weight. A strict regimen is the easiest way to eat right -- but that doesn't mean you can't splurge a few times a week.

And yes, losing weight is going to take major lifestyle changes. Live with it or live with your cushiony ass.

Also, if you live in an area with lots of people, and lots of dogs, I 100% guarantee that there is a gym near you. It might not be two miles away like mine is, but there's one somewhere. Look at local highschools and junior colleges to see if they have open weight rooms. Look for YMCAs. Look in the damn phonebook. If all else fails, post your zipcode, and someone here will find you a gym.

I'm personally curious just to see this zipcode, with no gyms within a fifty mile radies.
