Dear /fit/ I consumed aboout 1.5 pounds of beef today. Why is red meat bad for you? And if it is, just how badly does it affect my health??

red meat isnt bad for you.

1.5lbs is a lot of beef though, calorie wise.

You're gonna need some heavy fibre to move all that out.

yeah I was really hungry. I still am :( I think it's because I'm sick, but my appetite has skyrocketed the past couple of days. Also: I'm 177 pounds and 6 feet tall, how low is too low? I want to aim for 170.

And I heard somewhere that it IS bad for you. Like it's linked to cancer/disease or something.

Everything can be linked to cancer/disease. Red meat has been the staple of all meat diets in America and Europe for a long time. Chicken and Red Meat. During expansion people lived on red meat and wild bird.

Unless you're eating steak for breakfast wrapped in bacon, burgers for lunch wrapped in roast beef, and beef burger steak wrapped steak cubes for dinner, you're fine.

Eating red meat 4 times a week won't do you know harm, in fact, its damn tasty.

I have no idea about the health aspects, but I will say this: I, sir, am in awe.

Red meat is also a good source of iron which you definitly need.
