think of creatine as a "speed up recovery" drug

i dont' think it would help at all for cardio work, however you can lift more often so it would help you lift more, which means if you eat right you may have less of a chance of loosing muscle while you cut

if you want a boost to lifting AND cardio take no-xplode. It does it with stuff like caffine added to it, but the energy boost lasts a good 2 hours, plenty of time to lift and run. (it has creatine in it too, so you kill two birds with one stone)
