Muscle loss? Anonymous
5'8" guy here, 169lb.

I've been eating between 1400 and 1600 calories for the last few weeks (I'm inactive when I'm working) and doing exercise. For the last 5 days I've been doing 10 minutes of HIIT every other day, and it's led to me losing roughly 1lb per day (slightly decreasing each day).

Is this too fast? Am I losing more muscle than fat? I definitely need to lose some fat to help with sports, but I don't want to lose muscle too rapidly (I understand some muscle loss is likely).

probably but keep at it muscle is for gays anyway

You're losing waterweight and some other shit. 1400 and 1600 calories aren't really starving yourself.

OP here. Before I lost these 4lbs I'd already lost about 8lbs in 2 1/2 weeks, so I would've thought the waterweight would've disappeared during that time.

shit, so you have a very fast metabolism bro. try not to lose more than 10lbs a month or muscle loss will be noteworthy.

if your measuring it when you wake up in the morning before eating or drinking tis probably not water weight

I weigh myself every morning first thing. So far I've lost 10-11 lbs in around 3 weeks, which I'm worried is too quick, especially as I want to lose around 20 lb more before I start trying to build muscle.

I'm thinking I should increase my calorie intake slightly by eating more regularly (400 calorie meals every 3 1/2 hours maybe), do less cardio and get back to regular muscle building exercises. What's everyones opinion?

If you were to eat 1400 - 1600 calories for a few weeks you would be dead soon. It's 1400 - 1600 KILOCALORIES...

OP here, I've always wondered why people refer to them as calories when most products state measurements in kcals.

Well for the pedantic, I'm eating between 1400 and 1600 kcal per day.
