Sup /fit/

I've been on a diet and have been exercising for the past 3 weeks.

Since I started I have lost 24 pounds.

My roommate said I have been losing wieght too fast and it's bad for me.

I used to eat around 4500 calories a day but now around 1500.

I run for around 15 to 20 minutes every morning but that's it.

Is this weight loss normal?

24 pounds in three weeks?

Holy dick Batman.

That large of a drop was probably incredibly unhealthy, and shocked the fuck out of your system. This probably caused it start NOM NOM NOMin the fuck out of your muscle, which is the last thing you want to do. Infact, there is a good chance the weight you lost was mostly muscle and water. People don't just lose twenty four pounds of fat that easily, or else we would all be thin.

Knock it back up to about 2500, then take a hundred calories off every week, and stop at 2000. No man should eat less than 2000 calories.

And if you want to keep catabolizing muscle, then you will eventually have such a low metabolism that your body will simply not lose anymore fat.

And don't run on an empty stomach.

It depends on how heavy you are to begin with. When really fat people change their diet and activity level, the first couple of pounds can just melt off.

Rapid weight loss can be dangerous, so if you start to feel ill effects contact a doctor.

I did a similar drastic weight loss some years ago when i was at school. I felt fine for the first few weeks, and then it caught up with me, i got tired after simply getting up in the mornings, id fall alseep at school, feel nausious all the time even though i was hungry, and generally just felt like shit.

Its much more healthy to lose less each week, but i cant tell you what to do, i did the same thing and frankly the results were worth it, although i did go to far and went anorexic, just try to stop before that and youll be fine :P

I'm not starving at all and am quite happy with my meals.

I feel great and have had alot more energy actually.

I find it odd how this could be bad but my roommate said it is.

I'm doing mostly the same OP. Lost about 40lb in just over 3 months from 1200 calories a day, 60 mins of cardio and getting the right foods. Lost about 6% BF and gained muscle rather than losing it. I dont think anyone here can explain it, perhaps some people can just do it without feeling like crap, i dont know.
