I hate cardio before eating, personally. I feel sluggish and tired and it's hell to try to get through the first ten minutes. If I eat breakfast, wait an hour, and then go and do it I'm not only able to go for longer, I don't feel as shitty when I'm warming up.
The reason you're told to do cardio in the morning is not so you can burn fat straight off, it's because that cardio will then increase your metabolism for the rest of the day- just like eating breakfast.
