there was a jamaican guy that was pretty fit that works in my gym. i asked him about supplements once, thinking he might know a thing or two i didnt. i was wrong.

i asked him one question: "do you take any supplements?" he proceeded with a 10 minute rant on

1: he drinks fruit juices and how i should drink lots of pineapple juice

2: how hes a vegetarian and how i shouldnt eat meat

3: how he noticed i work out my abs everyday and i shouldnt do that, even though arnold did

4: whey doesn't work for me because i probably have the wrong blood type

after he said number 4 i left while he was still talking to me. i see him everyday, and i keep getting bigger, stronger, and more cut. that was 5 months ago.

I'm reading through Starting Strength, and he emphasizes squatting to, but not beyond parallel to get the full safe ROM. I thought this was standard form, and going below parallel starts putting shear stress on the knee. I also think he says doing partial squats are worse for the knee than full squats, but I could have that entirely wrong.
