That, my friend, is because toning in the sense that you applied it does not exist. Next time, refer to it as a different term such as getting cut, or reducing your bodyfat.

Also, stay away from crunches and pushups, just lift heavy weights and run a lot while reducing your calorie intake. The results will show up by themselves.

The best way to spot reduce (i.e. tone) is a mixture of using machines, staying away from squats and deadlifts, doing cardio (without HIIT), visiting crossfit.com, abstaining from oats and other high-carbohydrate foods, eating three large meals a day without snacks, drinking pop, taking in the daily recommended level of protein, and NOT doing stronglifts or any kind of 5x5 routine.

idk, it's taking me a little over a year to lose all of it so it's not like i did it in a few months, where i think you get that lose skin from that way (probably wrong on that though not too sure). But it was a slow process and I was toning (or cutting) throughout the process as well to help prevent the flabby loose skin
