I need some Heeling Anonymous
Shit, my achille tendons hurt. Everytime when I stand on my toes I get a painful sensation on my tendons. So I basically walk around on heels usually. I guess I did too much running. Anybody else experiencing this?

How old are you? Age is very important in deciding if this is serious or a passing phase.

21, I started running for 4 days in a row, 45 minutes each. I guess I should use an elliptical.

you went from doing nothing to running 45 minutes 4 days in a row?

Let it heal, then spend a week to two weeks stretching it thoroughly (3 times a day at least and holding for 30 seconds at least each time) also worth stretching everything else during those two weeks as a lot of running injuries are caused by a lack of flexibility, then start your running program.

But start sensibly, not like a moron. Give your legs plenty of rest, i.e. run 3-4 times a week with a day between each run (starting running is all about developing the muscular and skeletal structure as it's a very demanding sport) and start with low distances (2-3 miles) adding a mile or so each week.

Forgot to mention also that the mile or so week that you add wouldn't be every day.

I.e. you might do something like...

Week 1
2, 2, 2, 3
Week 2
2, 3, 2, 4
Week 3
3, 4, 3, 4

Something like that, just keep it steady, it's stupidly easy to injure yourself when you start out running.

Steady progression is pretty much the key.

I had the same problem until I started wearing the right running shoe. Check out pronation. I went and was tested at a local running shop and they gave me a shoe that helps correct the pronation.

In during pseudo-hijack.

When I run, I always land on the balls of my feet and try not to let my heels hit the floor.
Oh I also run in steel-toed and heeled boots, hurrr. I am the best runfag ever.

Only problem from that are the HUGE FUCKING CALLOUSES that grow on the outside of my big toes and sometimes I get blisters on the balls of my feet. But other than that, I've never noticed anything.. But maybe some input would be good.

In short; Am I running properly?

Other than the boots. Heels are not supposed to touch the ground. Otherwise you are taking out the legs natural mechanics and you might as well waste your time cycling.
