/fit/, I've decided to start working out. I'm not fat or anything, quite the opposite really - 6 foot about 148lbs. I've even got my friends huge jar of protein crap and everything.

My only thing is that I heard that running while you're trying to get bulkier, etc is not good for you. I've always been a runner and do the treadmill or whatever and play a lot of basketball/tennis. So, yeah, how should I proceed? Any advice?

We are you running?

Just play your sports. I assuming you're doing some sort of jogging, which doesn't help you in basketball or tennis, where the focus is on being quick.

Also, eat more. it's unfortunate you're a skinny bitch, but with time, you'll start to become a bitch, and eventually on to weightlifter.

I am in the same boat I am 6-1 155 if you want to bulk up you can do two things 1. stop running and eat 5000-6000 cals a day with lots of chicken and broc or 2. eat 5000-6000 cals a day with lots of chicken and broc and on top of that use weight gainer to keep the weight on while running.

Well, I run to keep my muscles in shape and for stamina purposes. Which helps a whole lot for basketball/tennis, as least the way I play.

So..is running a big no no then? I can't really eat huge meals every day cause I've got work and I can't really be feastin in my cubicle. Doesn't this protein crap help with that whole weight thing?

You're not going to get bigger if you don't eat a lot.

seconded

running doesn't hurt your gains if you don't over do it, but not eating hurts
