Hello /fit/!

I need some advice... My current height and weight is 5'4", 145 lbs, my waist is about 27" (I wear a size 6-8 in jeans), hips 36", and my bust is 36" (although I'm not too concerned about that...). Any tips on losing some inches? Also, what should be my goal weight? I'm aiming for 135, although perhaps I should set my bar a bit higher and go for 125?

I'd post pix, but I have none, nor a camera... sorry!

Just want to lose weight?

(1) Diet. Figure out how many calories you think your burning daily. Eat less than that. Safe bet you eat 1300 calories a day, you'll lose weight. I'm a lot bigger than you and I was on a crash diet of 1500 calories a day, lost about 10 lb a month.

(2) Since your going for weight loss, try doing aerobic exercises such as running, road biking, etc. Yes anaerobic exercises such as weight training will burn calories faster but muscle weighs more than fat so you won't hit your weight goal as quickly but you will be "fitter".

Fair enough. With running, my recommendation if your new to it, is set a TIME period, not a SPEED period. Let's say, 15 minutes. Try to run for that amount of time. Even if you end up only jogging the first 5 minutes and jogging the rest. Don't stop. Even if you feel like your going slow as hell, don't stop for those 15 minutes.

Another good aerobic exercises is swimming but a lot of people (a) get the munchies after swimming which doesn't help wit the whole dieting thing or (b) don't do anywhere near enough swimming to really work out.

At 5'4 I think 125 would be more ideal but it depends on your muscle/body fat percentage as muscle weighs more than fat.
Practice proper diet and exercise daily.
