i'm on the same page.
i do work out hard, and have been shedding fat and gaining muscle over the last 9 months. there have been improvements, albeit slow.
thing is: fitness and appearance don't rule my life. as far as i'm on my own, i don't deviate an inch from my exercise plan and diet. if i'm with friends (i.e. having fun) i'm having fun and anything goes (dancing all night when i should be getting rest, throwing a bbq party, getting wasted on alcohol or drugs or just staying in couch all day watching films and snacking). i work, i study and i exercise, so when i have time to spend with the people i love, it is an unvaluable luxury and enjoying it (whatever it means) becomes top priority.
>TL;DR it'll slow your progress, but life needs to be enjoyed too.
