Eating Before and After Exercise sage
How long should you eat before and after exercising to maximize the effects of the work out

Before:
A full meal at least 2 hours prior OR
A snack or energy bar, 30 minutes prior

After:
Within 30 minutes get at LEAST 250 calories with a 2/3 protein/carb ratio. Ideally though, a meal; and remember to FEAST LIKE A BEAST!

i heard to avoid meals (at least heavy ones) within two hours before working out.
and i've also heard you can eat anytime after a workout, usually the sooner the better.

i heard drinking a protein shake in the half hour after your workout is the best time. as for before, give it about two hours at least if its a large meal, and grab a banana right beforehand for energy, any less than 2 hours and you'll probably feel ill.

I try to wait around 1/2 hour but thats if its something light like cerial. If you have a heavy breakfast or meal like bacon eggs and that shit then at least an hour. If its fruit then there is no issue your usually right to go straight away.
Hope that helps but say 1/2 to 45 min minimum.
