/fit/, so I started going to the gym to lift weights and shit this week and on Tuesday I was there with my friend doing biceps and back or whatever. So anyways, there's this one machine that has you doing a rowing motion where you pull weight towards you...and I started with that.

So anyways, I either was doing some shit wrong or did too much weight or something, but I completely fucked up my forearms. The joint(or whatever it is) inside of the elbow hurts like a motherfucker when I try to straighten out my arms. So I've got my arms bent the whole time and I've tried to stretch them out but that doesn't seem to be doing much except being hella painful. And it's been hurting progressively more with each day. Any advice? Should I keep stretching it out? Let it be? Shit fucking hurts.

sounds like sum tennis elbow.

time to see your doctor.

No, tennis elbow is on the outside of the elbow, and for old people.

I got something very similar to OP when I was doing some basic lifting and athletics. Rest is the best thing to do (don't do any more lifting obviously). I took some ibuprofen and got one of those elbow heating pad things for a few days, but I think a few days/a week of rest is what really did the trick.

Google "R.I.C.E. injury treatment". Get some ibuprofen, too.

Hardcore DOMS. Since you just jumped right into a workout that your body wasn't familiar with, this is the result. Really, you should have done a full body workout for the first month or so. Just working out your main muscle groups with one exercise each (Squats, deadlift, bench, shoulderpress, pullups, etc) The real major lifts and pushes. Even with just one excercise (3 sets 5reps) I guarentee you would feel it the next day if you're just getting back in.

You'll probably feel it for about 4-7+ days now. Just stretch gradually and throughout the day. REST PLENTY! SLEEP will really help. Heat the area and don't try to use it again until the pain subsides a bit. If all else fails go see a doctor, but if you can still move it then it's probably not serious.

RICE is really only good for injuries as soon as the happen or shortly after. It's been like 3 days since then so ICE'ing the area isn't really going to help much in the healing process. I recommend HEAT to increase circulation.

I find that hot showers help to eleviate some of the pain for a while.

Thanks for the advice. Is there anything I should be eating than might speed up the process?
