30 pounds in 3 weeks Run yor ass off!
Can I say something?

I lost 30 pounds in three weeks by litterally running my ass off. Granted, I am naturally muscular which greatly assisted in the fat burning process, but it can be done.

I had gained 25 pounds from playing wow and not working out for a year. One day I woke up and got sick of my fat fase. So I started eating better. I started eating breakfast, which I think helped the most, along with two other meals a day. I only ate things that I could look at and identify what plant it came from. If I couldnt tell if it was from a plant, I didnt eat it. The only two things I ate that didnt come from plants were tuna and eggwhites.

I ran every day and I did pushups and situps and squats whenever I could. No weights, no lame suppliments, no special drinks or pills or gimics of any kind. Just self discipline, and some good ol' American inginuity.

I think you really have to want to loose weight bad enough. It was very difficult to do but it got easier as time went on and I stuck with my little program. I never weighed myself, I never at myself in the mirror because these things can discourage people. 3 weeks later I weighed myself because my pants no longer fit and I had lost 30 pounds. If I can do it, so can you!

kThanx

Good job. You lost 20 lbs. of lean body weight, 5 lbs. of water and maybe 5 lbs. of actual fat.

Agreed. Bodyweight exercises don't build muscle, and if you're losing weight without a weight lifting routine, more often than not the weight you're dropping is at least partially muscle.

Stupid logic r stoopid

Frade nawt. I played wow for a year eating crap and not working out. After the three weeks, I had nothin left but washboard abs, I barely recognized myself. Pushups/situps were effective as hell and unless questing in outlands is a new way to buff up, I doubt I lost any more muscle than I gained. Pwnd

so if i lift my body horizontally 25 times using a pull up bar, i'm not gaining muscle? but if i pull 20 pounds of weight from a machine i do?
>> Anonymous
>>100486

if pulling yourself up 25 times produces enough strain for your body to force it to adapt to that, then yes you will grow. When you reach the point when that doesn't happen anymore you have to change something, adding resistance for example.

Exactly. If you can do 25 chin ups, you won't gain muscle from it. In order to build muscle you must be able to do around 10, max. Much more than that and you'll have to add resistance.

OP's story is very believable. I see too many fat people who are unwilling to push themselves and instead either walk or do other very light PT, and continue to eat like a pig.

As far as losing muscle is concerned that is total bullshit. Some muscle might be lost, but you can't lose what you never had to begin with. A body with very little muscle and a whole lot of fat will not be losing significant amounts of muscle due to healthy eating.
Body weight exercises such as sit ups and push ups are also great exercise for most unhealthy people since they work multiple sets of muscles at once and take the breath out of you.

Fat people would never be fat in the first place if they had the self control to eat healthy and exercise. It's no surprise that the vast majority never lose weight and that for the ones who do it's a long and pathetic process.

I lost 60lbs in 3 months and most of my lifts nearly doubled in that time. and i didn't even need to run excessively 30-60 minutes a day 6 days a week and i was lifting 5 days a week and eating 5 meals a day

I went from 260 down to 180 over the past 4 years, most dramtically in the past year. recently I'm back up to 200+/-5lbs due to adding muscle definition. I eat whatever I want whenever I want, giant pizzas, 2ltrs of soda, etc. I do however have a VERY strenuous job. Wore a pedometer one day, I walk 3 miles a day not including the heavy lifting, pushing/pulling huge weights. People need to realize that you need to exercise to lose weight. Having muscle and using it burns TONS of energy. The more muscle you have, the more you can eat and not gain weight.

In addition, if I skip eating for one day, I lose 3lbs. If I cut soda from my intake, I lose on average, a lb a day.

lol 3 miles. landscaping i walked 15-20 miles a day not counting heavy lifting and i lost nothing

The only argument here would be is that when you have little muscle to lose that you end up losing internal heart muscles and such.

I personally think that to a point that's pretty much bullshit, but I can see where the possibility of it exists.

>Fat people would never be fat in the first place if they had the self control to eat healthy and exercise.

No. In most cases it's genetic. Yeah, eating shit and not working out will make you gain weight, but I know a lot of people who don't work out and eat unhealthy foods who are twigs.

I wouldn't say it's genetic as much as cultural. Ever eaten over a friend's house as a kid? For me, it was either one of two things: I'd be fucking hungry as fuck after the meal, or I'd never be able to finish the massive portions those fatasses would serve to me.

Different families encourage different lifestyles.

Although some people do have lightning fast metabolisms, the ones who don't simply shouldn't eat as much.

skinny people being skinny despite eating is genetic. Fat people being fat is borderline impossible if they eat properly and exercise. That's not a bias either, simply reality.

yeah because obviously we had an obesity epidemic in the 70s, because it's GENETIC and NOT CULTURAL

protip: the people you know like that haven't hit the age in which your metabolism dies (read: 23 or so)

does not compute: 1lb a day loss just by removing sodas means:
3500 calories a day deficit just by removing sodas means:
30 or so fewer sodas a day consumed

WTF YOU'RE FULL OF SHIT

>>101531
WTF YOU'RE A DUMBASS. Don't forget the water weight. Water has no calories
>> Anonymous
>>101554
Let me point out that you only lose the water weight on the first day, before you go and shout too loud at others.
Losing 1 pound a day on sodas alone is exaggerating plain and simple.
>> Anonymous
Well 30 pounds of fat are 75000 calories, that's like burning 3750 calories of fat a day. It does not compute.

DON'T listen what people here say.

they are complete morons that just worry about physical appearance and muscle definition they don't care about real strength or functional muscle.
