Hey /fit/, I was wondering...how come people always have different looking "fat" stomachs. Like, take a look at this Googled pic. See how his stomach is like...sticking out over his pants and hanging down? But then I've seen other fat people who have a more solid looking midsection where it's obviously fat and you could grab flab on it, but it doesn't droop down like other people.

Why is this? Are the droopy people just carrying a lot more fat and less muscle? I'm inclined to think it's just a lack of muscles in the midsection and that the more "solid" looking fat stomachs are that way because of stronger abs.

Any comments? I'm not even really fat, this has just been a question I could never find an answer to. It's mostly asked out of curiosity because I have two friends who are both pretty fat, but their stomachs look totally different.

Body type, genetics, muscle. I mean, it's like asking why all skinny people don't look exactly the same.
Some people look better than others at being fat. And I honestly believe some people's bodies handle being fat better in terms of health.

Difference between subcutaneous and visceral fat. Visceral fat lies under the muscle and is therefore constrained by it. Subcutaneous lies just under the skin so it's only bound by the skins elasticity.
