I'm a complete dumbshit when it comes to fitness.

I want to start working out and building muscle. If I walk into a gym I'll be clueless. I was thinking about buying a set of weights and getting a chart and doing a routine for a couple of days.

Where should I start? What exercises with weights and what size?

Any help would be great.

Since you're clueless I'd recommend you pick up a fucking book before a weight.

Getting what you want is going to require a lot of reasearch to figure out what works for you. If you really want to do it the lazy way; hire a personal trainer and slavishly obey him. That's what I did. :)

h, personal trainers are a bit too expensive. I can get help from friends who know personal trainers to help me out a bit though haha.

I'm going to do some research and attempt to get started pretty soon. But the damn bodybuilders are so distracting on that site. Must resist urge to fap...

Thanks again for directing me to the site.

The world of physical fitness is vast and confusing, so you're really going to have to get over your fear of information and start reading. Don't worry about every tiny detail, you don't need to have a PhD or be a biochemist to know what to eat and when to eat.

Just start using google and reading. Compound lifts, surplus calories, protein, etc.

anybody have a rapidshare of Starting strength? torrent seems to be messing with me

Where I come from, the gyms have people who can help you with stuff like this if you ask them. I thought that was normal.

look in 4chan's rs, i just got it there a few minutes ago it should be on the first couple pages

Yeah you'll need to read up, and go ask people irl. What, did you expect someone to come and give you a short summary of bodybuilding? Nope, it's much more complicated than you think.

Hypertrophy training, muscle definition training, microcycles, supercompensation... it's more than just reps and sets.
