As of last week, my left hand goes numb every couple of hours as if I had sat on it for ages and then dunked it in ice. The numbness usually goes away after about 5 mins of furious hand waving.

Should I be worried? Pic related, it's my hand.

Ok so there's a possibility I might have that..

Anyone gonna tell me what's causing the numbness? No?

It's

a) Carpal tunnel syndrome

b) if it spreads up your arm, a heart attack

c) nothing

ask your doctor about it, if its just your hand it might not be too serious, but you can never be too careful

OP, is it a tingle? Or a sorta electric static feel? Does it start at the pinkies and move towards the thumb?

Uh it starts at the tip of my ring finger and then my whole hand feels really fat.

If you know what I mean..

Do you have any sort of compression bandage or elastic bandage for some sort of sprain/dislocation? I had something similar happen when I sprained my right elbow - I was given this elastic thing (similar to an ace-wrap) and left it on overnight the first night (big mistake!) By the time I woke up my hand was swollen so it looked like I'd gain 100lbs and my fingers were completely numb. I took the bandage off and within an hour or two my fingers were back to normal again.

Like it feels weaker? Do you have a harder time grabbing things when it feels that way?

My hand doesn't actually swell up, it just feels really fat, like if you put your hand in ice for a while.

And I haven't had any injuries recently, this just came out of nowhere :\

When I try to close my hand it kinda feels like I'm squishing plasticine.

Literally just shook off another round of numbness, first half of this was typed with one hand.

Doesn't sound like carpal tunnel. But something is definetly affecting blood flow to the area. Thats the fatness feeling you get, and the reason shaking is making your hand work agian.

You shake, litterally forcing blood into your hand, then it slowly gets starved agian, till you shake agian, forcing blood into your hand. Whatever it is, its slowing/stopping the blood flow to your hand. Could get worse, could get better.

Highly suggest you seek medical attention at a clinic at least.
