Hey /fit/, I'm a guy, 5'10", 125ish lbs. (wimpy yes)
and I was wondering if anyone could recommend me a routine of sit/push-ups to do daily to get half-way decent abs and whatever push-ups help with by August.

Specifics please (elevated feet for push-ups etc.)

Thanks.

do sit-ups till you puke.

Or read starting strength.

Short but sweet thanks. Sounds like a good idea. Then I'll recommend some.

Would say 20 push and sit ups in the morning, 20 at night get me decent abs by August?

Multiple sets of push ups. Find your max and do like 80% sets.

Vary it. Lots of different things you can do--hands below shoulder push ups, hands wide push ups, diamond (hands touching) push ups... etc.

Add some pulling motion exercises too so you work your back and biceps.

OP, I was at exactly the same place as you 5-6 months ago (same weight/height); I've since put on roughly 20 pounds and am at 145 but that's been with heavy resistance training.

For push ups, you should be doing different distances between your hands to work out different portions of your chest/triceps/shoulders; i.e. medium distance, triangle close, wide distance. You should also train yourself to eventually be able to do one handed push ups, since that'll get you a lot of resistance, can do it by starting with negatives and whatnot.

For abs, you really do just need to burn off some stomach fat and just do crunches and v-ups and whatnot. You'd probably be best off just doing heavy strength training if possible along with HIIT but if you don't have access to that, I suppose just make do with what you can.

Do crunches
Lay on the floor on your back (preferrably carpet)
Bend your knees
Hands behind your head and push your upper body towards the ceiling.
Do about 20, and you will feel burning in your stomach

Best way to burn stomach fat? The main problem is my dad's a fucking idiot and thinks I'm too skinny so dieting isn't really an option.

Running like a mile and a half a day?

Also what types of push-ups are best for the chest? Hands far apart?

Thanks helpful shit here.

Running won't do much, it will just tire you out while burning fat from all the wrong places. Focus on stomach exercises, v-ups and leg raises are good. Also, yes, keep your hands wide for more chest emphasis with pushups.
