How to deal with death? Has any of you personally loosed a close one?

My cat died before my eyes a few years ago. He was in the car to visit a relative. When we opened the door it rushed to grandma's door but a car crushed him and didn't even stop after we yelled.

Death is extreme loss, the best way to deal with loss is to get another of what you lost. Obviously not possible in some cases but you get the point.

It just takes time. My dad passed away a year ago yesterday, and it still doesn't feel right not having him around anymore.

Mom died right after my forth birthday, grandma died before my seventh. I was too young and never got to deal with it properly and I still get overly-emotional.

My uncle once ate my pet chicken. He used it for chicken noodle soup.

I got so fucking RAGED that I took the hot steaming bowl of soup and lodged it in his face, and then smashing his skull into a bloody pulp with the aforementioned bowl.

Then I grabbed his still-warm corpse and performed SQUATS with it.

Best thing I ever did.

My mom died when I was 14 (and on my brother's 17th birthday, coincidentally). It sucked a lot, and I've never forgotten it. However, that year was the year where I grew the most. I just learned to accept that death will occur to all of us, so I need to appreciate and be grateful for those I love and still have with me. Not appreciating my mom as much as I should have is the biggest regret of my life.

Personally no one i really cared about has died. I don't really have a very close relationship with even my immediate family, so when my aunt and grandfather died it was really more of an inconvenience to me to have to go to the funeral. Of course I pretended to be somewhat sad to avoid being called an asshole. I would feel worse if a friend died than if my father had.
