OP, I was at exactly the same place as you 5-6 months ago (same weight/height); I've since put on roughly 20 pounds and am at 145 but that's been with heavy resistance training.
For push ups, you should be doing different distances between your hands to work out different portions of your chest/triceps/shoulders; i.e. medium distance, triangle close, wide distance. You should also train yourself to eventually be able to do one handed push ups, since that'll get you a lot of resistance, can do it by starting with negatives and whatnot.
For abs, you really do just need to burn off some stomach fat and just do crunches and v-ups and whatnot. You'd probably be best off just doing heavy strength training if possible along with HIIT but if you don't have access to that, I suppose just make do with what you can.
