Hey /fit/,

I know sugar is one of the main things you need to cut out when losing weight, but (and this may sound like a dumb question) is eating a lot of fruits okay? I usually take an apple and peach or pear (whatever I have) to work, as long as a tupperware of blueberries, grapes, etc. I try to bring veggies as well (baby carrots, cucumber, peppers) but if I have no time I load up on fruits and just wash 'n' go. It also seems that some of my favourites are also very sweet (watermelon, strawberries).

tl;dr: Is it okay to load up on fruits or is it too much sugar?

Yes, but as I mentioned, human beings are for some reason extremely efficient at digesting the sugars naturally found in fruits.

Look at our closest biological relatives, the primates. Primates eat a diet primarily consisting of fruit, and I'm sure you've seen a lazy orangutan or two who is looking a little round around the waist. Well, he got fat from sitting on his ass eating so much fruit.

If I human eats too much fruit, pretty much all he or she has to worry about is sitting down and having the most epic shit/gas storms known to man (as well as a slight acid reflux problem). That's why I said fruit is such a blessing for human beings...our digestive systems are much more efficient at digesting the stuff than our primate friends.

the three macronutrients protein, fat, carbohydrates can be converted somehow someway. it is indeed too much carbohydrates that will make you into a fatty. Much more so than having fat in a diet. Eating fat stimulates fat metabolism. Eating excess carbs just gets converted to fat however for storage.

sorry, I'm an idiot, I didn't read the whole post. It will have been more so if you're lazy. The keyword is metabolism. Think of metabolism as a burning furnace. The higher your metabolism, the higher the temperature and you can burn more shit up.
