hey, i'm a pfc with the 1st infantry division at ft riley ks. During basic we worked out for an hour to an hour and a half in the morning before we ate anything at all. What this does is it enables your body to jumpstart your metabolism by utilizing the fat and carbohydrates you already have in you from the previous day's intake. Exercising in the morning before eating or doing anything else will give you much more efficient results. Also you should alternate your training days from strength (pushups situps and other core conditioning) to cardio (running, iron mikes, squats, sprinting) and dont forget to drink a lot of water the previous night, at least two quarts. During training, I can't tell you how many privates fell out because of dehydration.
