/fit/, I just cannot consume enough calories to gain weight while leading a normal life. I simply do not have the time or the stomach. I admit it. I train hard, I eat as much as I can, but it's only worked to a point.

So I was wondering what the general opinion was on general high calorie powders used in place of (or in conjunction with) whey powder. Money isn't much of an issue right now, so if you immediately write off low quality powders for being too high in saturated fat or ineffective, maybe there's alternatives? What do you think?

I've got the same problem. I've been drinkin a 1200 calorie, 27g protein smoothie in addition to my regular diet and it's been helping. It's called the hulk from Smoothie King and costs around 5 bucks. It's got ice cream and weight gainer. IMO it tastes more like a milk shake.

If the nutritional information for that is accurate, that's not a bad mixture. Why the discouraging comment?

27g of protein in a 1200 calorie drink seems low. What else is in it?

Don't go to smoothie king unless you want to pay out the ass for a mediocre smoothie.

Nothing is going to be better than real food, but if you have to get the calories in, a gainer is better than nothing.
I've seen a lot of different gainers, I think the best by far is cytogainer. It's not as ridiculously high in calories as some of the other gainers, but there's no point in drinking a 1200 calorie shake if half of it is crap.
The creatine content in cytogainer is a little high, but it's worth it.

say what? what discouraging comment?

but you will have to know one thing though.
let's just say it won't be the best tasting thing you ever had especially when your stomach is already full with all the food you gorged in.

lol to all those 'hi cal get you fucking hyooge' corn syrup solids with a sprinkle of cheap whey.

tl dr enjoy your diabetes

get a blender and do this yourself.

-h20/carb free milk/grassfed orgo milk (if u got $s)
-kefir/cottage cheese
-couple scoops mixed protein
-lil bit of oatmeal (plain, oldschool)
-pb
-spinach (you literally can fit 3 cups of raw spinach into 1 oz of liquid...its amazing
-secret 'get hyooge' ingredient-->extra light olive oil (cant even taste it and it makes everything creamy)

per serving, 500--1200cal (based on oil), taste like reese's pieces, has more spinach (cant taste) than most eat in a week, oh yah, and like 50+g mixed protein

True, but I didn't think the OP would mind since he said money isn't an issue.
