Alright mis/fit/s, I'm going to tell you about my experience with the one diet pill that works. In fact, it works so well that it can kill you with what you thought was a normal, "safe" dose.

Dinitrophenol got its start as an explosive sometime before WWI. Workers who dealt with it presented high rates of cataracts in the eyes, but also very low bodyfat. DNP was first used as a diet pill in the 30s, according to the faggots at wikipedia.

DNP is no shit. It's a powerful mitochondrial poison. That poisoning effect makes your energy pathways highly inefficient; you produce mostly heat. Remember that word, "heat", you'll see it again.

On DNP you can eat 5000 calories a day in the form of ice cream and deep dish pizza, if you can bring yourself to eat it, and cut fat. You'll lose fat so quickly people will think you have AIDS. I'm not joking; I had friends asking me if I was hiding a medical condition from them.

Thing is, the weight loss wasn't all they were noticing. This is where the heat comes in. You will have the worst fever of your entire life, all the time. 24 hours a day of dripping sweat with two box fans on you and the AC turned to 50. You can't sleep. You can't hang out with your friends, because you're radiating waves of heat like a Goddamn broiler and you've sweat through all your clothing. On DNP you don't have sheets; you layer towels on your bed. In the morning you wring them out in the shower and toss them into the washer. You'd better drink as much water as you can or you will die of dehydration. You'd better mix that water with electrolytes or your kidneys will fail.

What I said earlier about eating all you want? Here's the thing: the more you eat, the hotter you get. It takes calories to fire that furnace that's cooking you alive, and the more you put in the hotter it gets. I "ate" Met-Rx mixed with whole milk three times a day, which gave me as many calories as I needed to stay alive.

Thing is, I didn't WANT any more food. I was so miserable I couldn't bring myself to eat.

Training was bizarre. Metabolic poison, right? That meant that cardio was out of the question. Walking to class was like the Bataan Death March; how the fuck was I supposed to hit the treadmill? Oddly, my strength levels didn't drop. I was moving decent weight, for me at that time, at the same volume.

And all the while, the weight was dropping off of me.

A time out for dosing issues. DNP dosing is spread out over a 24 hour period. You move up in dose in miniscule amounts. An overdose means you get to have icewater enemas in the ER while explaining how you came to have a dangerous industrial chemical in pill form in your closet.

Obviously, not everyone takes dosing seriously. One high school kid bought pills from the same source as I did and almost killed himself on the shit. When I heard that, the nagging voice I had ignored for weeks took over and I disposed of the few pills I had left.
