OP, screw all this counting calories BS. Eat nothing but fresh fruits, lean meats (fresh fishes, chickens), and vegetables. Drink only water. Only cook the meat. Eat the plants whole and raw. Fresh fruit is the most important thing to your overall health.
My food intake is like 60% fruit, 25% chicken/fish, and 15% vegetables. My energy level is transfinite, my immune system is invicible, and I eat CONSTANTLY. It's awesome.
If that sounds too expensive, then sell your car and buy a bus pass / walk / bike /etc. That's what I had to do, and the tradeoff is that you get more exercise for free.
