Going to the gym in a few minutes, going to try my hand at the rowing machine (30 minute interval) wish me luck. I might not come back this time.

HAVE FUN, AND DON'T FORGET TO PULL THAT SHIT OUT OF YOU.

LET YOUR RAGE OUT

Now isn't there supposed to be some specific technique to using these things? As in you don't just pull? Can anyone explain it properly?

they're just like squats

holy crap, that was awesome. I like how this machine tells you how many calories your burning per hour, amazing.

Can barely feel it until you get off the machine, then you realize your sweating bricks and you can't lift your arms up.

Start with your legs, then into your core and arms, then reverse. It's kind of hard to explain. Try to start with your legs horizontal then arms out, then coming back try to get your shins vertical.

When you wake up in the morning, you will not be able to move your arms. It will be funny for people around you, and extremely unpleasant for you.

The use a Concept 2 in the videos (best rower ever), but the same technique applies.

So true. If you do them correctly (and not too slow), these machines kick your fucking ass, and you're really not totally aware of it until you're done.

One of my dad's friends had a competition with another guy he knew, to see who could burn the most calories in an hour on a rowing machine. This guy was a fucking madman (also like 55 years old) and I forget how much he burned off, but it was just crazy. I'll have to ask my dad when I get the chance.

That's what we have at my gym. Only have two of them though...

Man, you generate so much wattage, you could power up a few hybrid cars on that thing.

Don't pay attention to the calorie things, they are complete bullshit.

Most I could push it's evaluation was 1700 calories per hour, which is insane. I stuck around 800-900, which netted me around 450, which is more than I ever burned from 1 hour of running/walking, thats for damn sure.

I really don't care about it, all I know was I was sweating my ass off, which is good.

legs -> back -> arms when going out
arms -> back -> legs when coming back in

Rowing machines are great for low impact/high intensity workouts,
