/fit/ I'm a tad concerned, But the internets are not helping me put this concern to rest. Ether that or my google fu is just incredibly weak.

I have HORRIBLE Troubles falling asleep, To the point where I seriously will lay there in bed for a minium of five hours just waiting to fall asleep, I often find my eyes being a tad sore from having to keep them forced shut.

I finally found a job for me recently, so I decided this not sleeping thing wasn't going to work out for me; So I started taking sleeping pills. [Pic related.]

They work like a charm, knock me out in about thirty minutes, as instructed, and I just lay down and glide to sleep.

But I'm a little concerned because normally [Not always] when I do take these pills, I find myself waking up after about four to five hours of sleep, and I feel completely awake and well rested. I always wake up thinking "Alright! A full eight healthy hours of sleep!" Only to find it's still dark outside and the clock is resting at "4:00AM"

Anyway /fit/
>tl;dr : If I feel fine and rested, but only get four hours of sleep [And have a work day ahead of me] Is this OKay? Should I stop taking the pills, and look for something else? Or when I wake up should I try and force myself back to sleep?

OTC sleeping pills are bullshit and prescription sleeping pills will fuck you up good. I personally know someone who got into a fight with a vacuum cleaner while sleep walking.

Since you just got a job and you've probably already been drug tested just try smoking weed. I shit you not. If you can get your hands of some shitty mexican shwag it will make you tired (the better the weed, the more of a 'thinking' high you will get -- you don't want that). That shit will make you sleep, you will stay asleep, and you will feel fucking amazing when you wake up.

I have always had sleep irregularities as long as I can remember. When I was a kid I would sit with my dog at night for company with I couldn't sleep. Shit interrupts my work also. It is infrequent and speradic, I find a good physical workout helps me with my sleep. I use to self medicate by drinking a beer or two to get relax my mind enough to get some sleep. Now that I am thinking about jobs, finances and what to do with the rest of my life (24 feels like it is almost over the hill for aiming for a better life), I find my self plagued with the damn sleeping problem too. Thinking about just buying more beer to self-medicate (if the self-relaxation-techniques don't work) till my sleeping schedule gets back in order but if you want to read up on it I will post a link I got off google about insomnia.

Not only have I never had interest in smoking weed, I don't think I'm going to risk being thrown out of my boyfriends house, and then getting in to legal trouble for the sake of sleep. So I have to mark that out for possibilities.
Thank you, though. :/

I'm about to leave to go on a fucking "Black friday" run with my boyfriend now that I'm awake,I guess, So I'm going to check this website when I get back, thank you.

But for the record: 24 isn't that un reasonable. A lot of people in their early twenties don't get their shit together so soon; They spend their life parting and having fun. Seems common to me.

I have a dentist appointment at 11AM tomorrow. I tried going to sleep at midnight, lol.

I have never gone to sleep before 2AM in my life, ever. Melatonin, DPH, Ambien, ganja, all of that shit only works for about 3 hours before I wake up again.

tl;dr you're probably as fucked as I am.

Sleeping pills are just there to give your sleeping schedule a "push" in the right direction. You should usually just take them for 1 to max 3 nights, then switch to baldrian or any other herbal sleeping pills if you're still having trouble. Cause getting used to sleeping pills isn't that great of a decision.

If you REALLY think you can't fix your schedule, just stay awake for 1 whole night and day and the next evening when you'll go to sleep, you'll fall dead instantly.

Also, are just eating healthy and getting some sport/movement during the day? It's usually easier to sleep if you're powered out from sports, being on your feet the whole day or doing physical work

There are a few true and tried ways to fix your sleeping schedule.

1. Smoke weed. Shit makes you sleep GOOD and EASY
2. Exect yourself somehow during the day.
3. Don't eat 3 hours before sleep
4. Take strong baldrian pills. If those don't work, take chemical pills ONCE and switch back to herbal

i use hypnosis mp3s when I REALLY can't sleep. You can get sound files that have no "body" to them, no command portion, and just take you down. It's really easy to fall asleep when you're the most relaxed you've ever been.

Hahah.. ._. Your wiki thing almost described me well. When I get to sleep by myself, I'm normally fine, But often I have a tendency to over sleep. Which makes me a little drowsy.

>getting used to sleeping pills isn't that great of a decision.

I agree with this; That and I think if I get in the habbit of always using the pills for sleep, I'll end up building a kind of immunity to them; The hit won't be as strong and I'll eventually have to bump my dose to a third pill. [Or whatever.] so I'm hoping maybe if I just use the pills for sleep at the same time every night, My body will eventually [Hopefully sooner rather than later] schedule it's self for shut down around that time, with out the help of the pills, because it knows "This is normal"
Thoughts on this?

>just stay awake for 1 whole night and day and the next evening when you'll go to sleep, you'll fall dead instantly.

That was my old solution for fixing my sleeping. It doesn't work very well. I caught myself a few times getting wired somewhere along the way and ended up staying up all night again; Which left me back to my first problem. It's normally ether that, Or I can't stand it anymore so I get knocked out at let's say.. 12:00? It's a off chance this works for me anymore. [I don't know if this matters, But I'm nineteen. a few years back in my early teen years, Staying up all night and day was like childs play, But now I just can't do it.] Am I fucked up or something? Weird.

I have work [Waitress] here in about an hour. or so; I grabbed a "5-hour energy" bottle thing, Drank half because I don't want to risk the whole thing and be off the wall. Hope it works. What's /fit/'s take on the junk? I've been told good things. :/

1. just say HU
2. try valerian and melatonin pills.
3. this shit works miracles: Zenbev. My mom has had insomnia for years and this is the only thing that helps her get to sleep. it's made from pumpkin seeds, so it's all natural. you take it and about and hour or so you start to feel sleep and wake up refreshed.

I buy it from herbspro. it's about $25 for a can, and it lasts for quite a while.
