Give it to me straight, /fit/.

How much will yo-yo dieting slow your metabolism if it's been going on for... say... three years?
As you can guess, I'm a female. And yep, post eating-disorder. I'm about 5'6" and 146 lbs, which is healthy but not satisfactory in my eyes. I'd like to be around 135 lbs again.

Metabolism doesn't work that way. If you're eating lots of calories this week, your metabolism will ramp up a bit to burn them or store them depending on various factors such as genetics, stress levels, exercise etc. If you're eating very low calories, your metabolism will slow down to conserve energy.

It doesn't matter what your diet was like 3 years ago.

While EDs may permanently mess with your fertility, your metabolism isn't set in stone. It'll change depending on your lifestyle, your diet, your activity.

Also, I'm 5'5"/135-140lbs which is pretty average. It doesn't sound like you need to diet at all.
