Hey /fit/tards, I run 12 kms for an hour every two days (i do weight training on the others). I try to keep my hr btw 160-170 bmp. Should I run more? How about running after weight training workouts?

How old are you? 160-170 is a bit high... ideally you want 150-160 if you're 25-35...

Hmm in that case, your routine sounds fine. I personally prefer to bike for my cardio because it's lower impact on my joints and offers a fuller body workout, but running is perfectly fine too. Are you having weight or endurance problems? I don't think you need to do any more.

I'm using an elliptical.
I just want to push it a little harder. Not that i'm thrilled about it, it's boring. What about two separate sessions? Like one in the morning and the one in the afternoon?

Once your body is out of glycogen it will turn to fat as an energy source. Once you finish one session you are replenishing your glycogen and doing the same in the next session. You are better off doing one, longer session than two short ones imo.

Thanks.
Btw, how does running on the track/outdoors compare to using machines? Would I feel significantly more exertion?
