Cardio Crossroads HairyFatass !DkdcOKkXrI
Sup mis/fit/s, it's been a while since I've posted here, and since I'm between monthly picture posts, I decided perhaps you could help me with a little dilemma.

After much research and discussion on /fit/, I decided this morning to depart from my usual track running schedule and try some HIIT.

Now I feel that I've gotten myself up to a pretty good level with my running ability. I can run about 6 kilometers at a steady pace without stopping at my gym (It equates to about 48 laps)

I decided due to the small size of the track I would segment my laps: 1 jog, 1 sprint, wash rinse repeat.

HIIT fucking broke me. I'm serious. I was only able to do about 10 laps, and even my post cardio lifts felt the impact. It felt like I had run my usual 6k, but in like 11 minutes. I was goo.

So I ask: Should I continue with my long distance running regime, or keep at it with HIIT and eventually improve my distance with that?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Your goal is weight loss, so technically either will work, however HIIT offers more benefits that regular running doesn't (improved anaerobic fitness, increased muscular strength, shorter workout times!).

Try stick with HIIT for a couple weeks at least, if you're not satisfied by then, consider switching back, you won't lose anything in the process.

I'm very much a newfag to this board, but from what I've read recently, that sounds about right. HIIT is not nice morning jog, it's a quick dirty painful cardio that will cut the weak parts out of you. I want to buy a stationary bike so I can do some at home.

TL;DR: keep doing HIIT
