Hey /fit/.

Ok i doubt this is not very impressive to most but I finally can lift 8kg dumbells.

I went up from 6kg to 8kg.

I think this was from intensive gardening over the last few eeks, like 3 times a week but each session lasted around 8 hours. This wasn't some pussy gardening either, my job was to uproot weeds that are so overgrown it was like bushes, using secaturs to the point my hands hurt. And also digging up tree stumps. This involved digging them up with a shovel and hacking the roots off with my trusty axe.

But anyways., a few questions here.

I would like to incorporate jogging into my routine but recently from the gardening alone, I found myself becoming extremely fatigued. I also have a job so I'm afraid that if i do anymore exercise, I'll end up too tired to do anything.

My job strats from 5:30pm till 12am, to which I am tempted to go jogging then (I like the privacy at night and my neighbourhood is relatively safe) but also, I don't want to end up being pumped before going to bed.

So any advice?

Given enough time, your body will adapt to whatever you throw at it.. If you want to jog at midnight, go for it, just plan to go to sleep at like 3AM. not that that would be a problem if you work at 5:30pm. although, you should think about why you want to run. It's been parroted enough here that almost always, HIIT > long slow run

HIIT's will give you 10 minutes of real fatigue tops, they don't wear on you muscles as much as long endurance runs do and they're better for you

Also 7 pullups is quite good

Eat, lots, good proteins, good carbs and good fats, will help keep your energy levels high and keep you from getting quite so fatigued, also drink plenty of water.

When you jog is down to preference, it can be hard to be motivated for it, but if you start out by walking for 5 or 10 minutes you'll end up jogging.

Pull ups can be pretty difficult for people lacking upper body strength, if you have a bar just google how to do them, it really isn't hard. 7 is a respectable amount for a bloke, although you'll get above that pretty easily if you're light.

The shooting pain in your right hand when you try and push up I guess would be down to a wrist problem? Might wanna get it checked out....

You fags need to LURK and READ! For 'wearing' on your leg muscles, you do SQUATS and DEADLIFTS!

Hey guys thanks for the responses. (its 1:39 here so finished work not long ago). I think I kinda gave the wrong impression. I used to be able to do 7 pull ups, now I can't do more than one, and that one is the one you throw yourself off the floor from. I had a go earlier today, these launch off pull ups, but managed three.
Im baffled as to why my upper body strength has weakened so much so to speak. And how to strengthen it back up is important.

I used to keep a jogging routine ages ago back when I was 17-18 (peak of my fitness i reckon, now 22yrs old)
and easily went for a 8km jog in a grassy football pitch.

Oh exactly what is HIIT? is it similar to fartleks?

also im 5,5 and weigh 85-90kgs.

and whats up with squats? is it some joke or is it actually useful? Actually, how does one do a "proper" squat?

Wow, 8 kg is really light. My tiny 15 year old sister can lift my 20 pound dumbells with one arm (albeit with some difficulty). You need to lift your heaviest possible weight, then work your way up to doing more and more reps. Unless you're a pretty young kid, you should be able to lift like 15 kgs per hand usefully.
