hay /fit/ sup.

when do you work out? i have been going after work and before dinner, but i'm thinking about hitting the gym when i first get up. i love sleeping though so i'm not excited about switching it up. but after a long day at the office my workout isn't very strong because i'm exhausted.
i'm thinking a morning workout will wake me up and get it over with early in the day.

when do you go, and what's your rationale?

Wake your lazy ass up.

I love working out in the mornings, sets the tone for my day, gets it out of the way, and I can spend time with friends later in the day, so I don't have to miss a session.

I eat scrambled eggs (2 egg whites, one yolk), toast (wheat or sourdough, usually wheat), turkey bacon, and drink a glass of milk about 30 minutes beforehand. I like to think I'm eating healthy, but it's just a normal breakfast for me. I've always had a mom to cook me breakfast, so I don't know what your problem is. I cook it by myself now, since I'm not living with my parents anymore.

30 minutes is just enough time to take a shower (if you haven't before), get your bag ready, and wake up if you're still in a drowsy sleep. On the car ride to the gym (kind of ironic, but I go straight to work afterwards), I listen to some music that I know will get me pumped and I'll pretty much want to explode afterwards. I get in an intense 40-60 minute work-out of lifting and running, with a few water breaks in between, shower at the gym, change, head to work.

oh. fuck man i thought you were suggesting i didn't know how to cook or some shit.

yeah i don't know either. my doc didn't have any good ideas for me about that. it's been happening for as long as i can remember. i think i'll probably drink some water when i first get up, and then maybe have some almonds or some protein of some sort after i've been up for a while.

Eat a full god damn breakfast.

I don't see how people can be filled up by eating cereal, nuts, and other shit in the morning.

God damnit, a good breakfast helps the day go along so much better.

Then your metabolism is slow as hell.

I'm a grown-ass man, and 30 minutes is ample amount of time to get everything at least going through my system and not leaving me feeling horrible at the end of intense workouts.

I've found it's a great way to start the day working out early, but I too am a lazy ass and normally work out after work, usually from 7pm - 9pm. On the weekends I'll go anywhere between 1pm and 5pm. It's really just getting into something that is easily repeatable.
