I was a former ecto, still gaining weight to reach my goal, but am scared to do cardio exercises since I do not want to lose any weight. I'm not even sure what to ask here, so I'll just state: halp

In the past 3 months I have gained 15lbs, definition, strength, and confidence.

just stick to two or three days of light 1/2 hour cardio. Keep the heart rate low. That's what i always did when i was bullking. It helped me from getting TOO much weight (i.e. fat) and it also prevented me from getting out of breath from the extra 10-12 pounds i put on.

mainly walking for 1/2 an hour on the treadmill with the incline up high. it keeps my heart rate at about 140 and it's good enough to make sure i burn some fat but i dont jeoprodize my muscle gains. I do it 2-3 times a week.

me again..also, make sure you do get cardio in. it's nice to get fucking huge but you're heart will not enjoy it for too long if your main goal is to just put mass on. You need some form of cardio to strengthen that heart. like i said, 2 -3 sessions a week plus an overall active life style (you know, walking more often, not being afraid to walk up the stairs at the mall) will help you stay in shape but not jeoprodize any muscle gain.

Although you probably won't go there, it's for your health, and you seem to be a health-conscious person. The guy who runs that site, Mark Sisson, is a fucking beast and he's in his 50's. Check it out.

If you feel so compelled, hike around or something. Maybe jog.

Here's the kicker: exercise burns calories. If you want to continue gaining mass, then shit, you gotta make up for what you burn in food.

OP if you have a history of heart problems in your family then consult a physician about the best possible diet. Might need to go extremely low on sugars, salts, and fats if you want to the best possibilitiy of avoiding any problems later on.


and you do need to do cardio work. there is no way around it. everyone should be doing it. i knjow you dont want to jeoprodize your gains but you must do it at least 2-3 times a week.

and yes, a jump rope is a great way to do it. do what boxers do. Do intervals. skip intensely for about 3 minutes then take one minute break. repeat this until you have 30 minutes of cardio. also, jump rope involves alot of muscle use so you will be getting a great workout all around.

Yeah I mean healthy foods. I don't even remember the last time I had junk food or a soda of some sort. I usually stick to egg whites, oatmeal, toasted wheat bread, roast, turkey, lettuce, strawberries, blueberries, grapes, apples, broccoli, corn, peas, almonds, cashews, peanut butter, .. really the list just keeps going, but that's my main list of eats.
