Vibram FiveFingers. They seem pretty badass. Does anyone remember the Nike Free shoes? The Nike Free was the first in recent memory that was marketed with the "barefot" concept. I bought into them, wishing to strengthen those auxillary leg muscles.
They fucking blow. The arches were unrealistically high, the fit was extremely tight, and worst of all:
The balls of the wearer's feet absorbed most of the shock. Since the Free shoes have VERY little cushioning, this means the shock is distributed directly upwards, usually ravaging the knee if the shins survive the carnage.
Please tell me the Vibrams are better than the Nike Free shoes, because I look forward to a minimalist shoe that actually works.
