If you want to lose weight, your diet should mainly consist of protein. with a small amount of carbs and fat.
You were in the army, you know how they train you. Follow their training regime and keep the diet going, as said above it doesnt happen overnight, now that you've not got much, if any fat to lose its going to be more difficult. Lurk moar for guides on weights.
Tbh i think you look fine as it is, i'd kill for a body like that.
