Lifting gloves Anonymous
Are lifting gloves for faggots, or are they alright in /fit/'s eyes? I get a pair every year for Christmas ever since I got into lifting and always return them to the store, or just give them to Goodwill.

I always feel bad afterwards though, I have a pair still, should I try them out, or should I just stick with chalk or bare hands?

Pic related, it's my gloves.

I've always used bare hands or chalk, never even been inclined to use gloves until now, because I felt bad.

Oh god, I'm becoming a faggot, help me.

I hear gloves reduce grip strength so I don't use em

gloves are just a gimmick to make money sort of like arginine supps: they dont actually do shit.

CHALK FTW

I use gloves with a wrist wrap. I've fucked up the tendon in my wrist and was unable to lift right for 6 months. I'd rather not go through that again.

the only time i agree with gloves is when it's either to mitigate or prevent injury (ie big ass wriststraps). Otherwise, they're for faggots; if you're worried about grip strength use straps or chalk, if you're worried about the gurls not liking calluses you're a gigantic faggot.

Gloves are fine, just remember to buy a pair that matches your purse.

Unless you're a hand model and need to prevent callouses, don't use gloves

Gloves dont mean youre a pussy, but they can be bad for your health.

Gloves can absorb and hold the sweat of others who used the weight equipment before you. So, if you have say a small cut on your hand and lift, the chances of you getting hepatitis are increased. The longer youve had the gloves, the greater the chance you could catch it.

I'm a dental hygenist, my hands are my livlihood, so.. I wear gloves.

Unless you start lifting a lot of weight gloves aren't necessary. When I started benching 200+ i started using them, they prevent callouses
