Ayo /fit/. Recently I've decided to start swimming. Well, not start swimming so much as take up swimming as my cardio. I've taken five years of swimming lessons so I can do just about anything asked of me, but I was wondering- what's a good routine for someone like myself? How long should I go for and what styles should I use for best results?

Thanks~

Do some IMs (and pfft good luck)
Get some arm pulleys and use minimal kicking

Weight loss. And a bit of muscle tone. I'm female, so I don't want to be hulking.

don't forget sprints, sprint 50m, rest for 10 secs, sprint again (adapt rest to what you can do)

Oh jeez
Five years of swimming lessons never taught you what swimming is, and in this case, IS NOT capable of. That is, swimming will never make you hulking. That's why professional swim teams add weights and dry land seperate from actual swim practices.

Do a warm up, something easy like a few 100s.

Start doing some IMs after, maybe a 500 or two after your first few sessions. Finish with a few 200s.

Cooldown with a few slow 100s.

Well, it will make your shoulders a bit bigger, but it won't be anything ginormous like the Terminator or anything. So nothing to fear.
