My weightlifting gloves are getting old and starting to get holes. What are some good brands you guys use and what are the pros and cons between full hand gloves and half gloves.

Only brand i've ever tried is Harbinger. I had the full gloves cuz i i sprained my wrist and needed support. I stopped using them now cuz it's not helpful. Callouses all the way.

It's impossible to achieve gains quickly without some help. But you need to develop your forearms and hands as well or you won't look proportional.

A great solution is to avoid gloves alltogether and used wrist straps. These are the pieces that wrap around your wrist and then around the dumb/bar bell handle. they are a good balance between gloves and no gloves, but the trick is to only use them at the end of your workout when you forearms can't take any more. (Over-working small muscle groups causes your muscles to shrink, not grow.) So use bare hands as much as possible and use the straps for deadlifts and lawnmower pulls. Everything else should be bare handed.

And remember, everyone develops differently. What might work for some of us might not work for you. Find your own groove.

I used to do pushups on the burning hot blacktop. My hands would have darkened imprints of the track's crevices for hours after I finished my routine. People would be aghast and ask me how it happened and I was completely honest: I burned the shit out of them doing pushups.

Then I got callouses on my palms and the track stopped leaving noticeable deep imprints and craters on my palms. I get a sense of pride everytime I look at my weathered hand and other people get a slight sense of awe. Lose the gloves.

I have a pair of Pro Gel cycling gloves from Bell. The positioning of the gel pads work really well for weight lifting also, just something to think about.
