Hey /fit/,

Most of the posts here are pretty intimidating, but I'm gonna ask anyway.

Any tips for someone just starting out? And by that I mean I can go about twenty minutes before getting exhausted (not fat, but way skinny).

So far I've been doing 40 crunches, 20 squats and 15 minutes on a treadmill.

Is this pathetic? Is there any point continuing? Any advice on what to include/improve on?

Pic unrelated.

Here's an idea OP, how about instead of coming here and asking your stupid vapid questions you go and actually read up on fitness, health and diet? you know, empower yourself and shit?
If you want to be healthy and fit, why don't you read about what healthy and fit people do?

Because this is a discussion board, and I'm here to discuss it.

Of course you should continue. You won't get anywhere if you stop. As to what needs to be included, that depends on what the goal is.

Just to get a little tone, feel a little healthier. I have virtually no definition in my stomach, and my pecks just seem to sag (though fortunately not man boobs).

My arms are pretty skinny and lacking definition, buy my main concern is my torso.

Getting the fuck off 4chan would be a great start. As would joining a gym and doing some real research.

You're a really obvious samefag.

And if it was as easy as just "doing the research", I wouldn't be asking here. Most people here seem to know what they're talking about, and I'd like some advice.

So hide the thread and fuck off, all right?

gunna have to choose whether to cut or bulk first, then do the other. in your case i'd bulk. I used to be only 4 years ago 5'10 140lbs. I went apeshit and lifted the heaviest shit I could find, about 5 days a week and didnt do anything related to cardio. Got up to 179lbs. At that point I was kinda ... hrm well I liked everything but my stomach. Now I do like 4 days of cardio and 3 days of lifting a week and I'm a cut 168lbs. (I can do 17 pull ups compared to 12 when i was 179lbs so I actually feel stronger even tho I cut like 11lbs)
Dude go to walmart get 2 10lb or 15lb dumbells to start out and start curling. Buy like a bag of dirt or cement and start rowing it or get a pull up bar. Eat anything and everything you see until you think you are strong enough. Then cut.

Start on some stretches and warm-up routines. This will help you see for yourself which muscles on your body are underdeveloped, and eventually allow you to go for longer without getting exhausted.

Exercise is best if dispersed throughout the day for beginngers. You know, do a couple stretches the moment you get up in the morning, push-ups and sit-ups in your room, brisk walks around the neighbourhood after a meal.

Don't just rely on a heavy gym routine, and don't try to think you can jog first thing in the morning. Your body will not be used to it, and the harder the regimen you put yourself through in the beginning, the more likely you are to shirk it.

Thanks Anon. I was debating doing it in increments throughout the day, since attempting too much wasn't getting me anywhere.

Sounds like some sound advice.

No one here knows shit, least of all you. You are a fucking newfag to fitness so you have no authority in determining what good advice is.

Here's some fucking resources you seem to be so incapable of researching.
www.t-nation.com
www.exrx.net

I wouldn't consider 4chan's /fit/ a valid resource, there are too many armchair experts, clueless dipshits and trolls for anyone to get any decent advice. If you really want personal feedback, go to 7chan's /fit/. It is moderated by someone with advanced knowledge of fitness that actually bans faggots that spout lies and myths.

And for the record I am not>>93239, though I share his exact sentiments. If you have lurked here for anything more than, say, 4 hours, you would've realised that similar questions to yours are being asked in millions of other threads.

Why are you raging so hard? I already admitted I don't know shit about fitness, and I don't lurk here.

Thanks for the resources but, by your own advice, I don't have any reason to take you seriously either. Plus you come off as a douche.

Have a look at simplefit.org. Seriously, it is the best for someone just starting out. You'll end up with a good base for moving on to Starting Strength or Crossfit or something more intense later on.

>I already admitted I don't know shit about fitness
Then who the fuck are you to say that an anonymous imageboard notorious for trolls is good fitness advice?

>by your own advice, I don't have any reason to take you seriously either
That makes no sense, I didn't even give you any fitness advice, I just directed you to official sources that AREN'T in 4chan.

>Plus you come off as a douche.
What do you want to do, apologise? Sugarcoat my words? Lie to you?

>Most of the posts here are pretty intimidating
You're a pussy.
