hey /fit/ any runners out there?

Military fag here... ran the perimeter trail on my base yesterday morning... stretched out and before I got home the pain on the outside/bottom of my foot was so excruciating that I can barely walk on it... this is no good... pt 3 days a week so I need to be able to run. I can't go to the doctor until tomorrow, of course that means I'll be accused of malingering and will sit in the clinic for hours before being seen, wasting almost an entire duty day...

Anybody here ever had any kind of pain like this? I think I might have pulled a tendon in my foot or something..

Any advice on getting the swelling/pain to go down so I might be able to sleep tonight? Ice makes it hurt even worse, and I considered icy/hot but I don't know if its helpful (never used it before).

what does /fit/ recommend?

Sorry, I don't know, but I hope you'll be okay.

Yeah, used to run quite often with less-than-adequate shoes... (bad idea) and got an identical/ similar condition from it--presumably from the harsh impact on the bottom of my foot.

Sounds like you injured a tendon. Only thing to do is give it rest, and time. Maybe 3-4 weeks or so, depending on how bad it is.

Seriously, it won't get better if you don't rest it.

I'm sure I'll be fine, but in need of some pain relief is all.

oh man... that's real bad... I can't go 3-4 weeks without running... I already walk several miles a day in all from parking to my mission on top of the mandatory pt under my new command... yikes

Do you know the arch type of your foot?
Flat, Normal, or High?
