Hey, guys. I'm looking to improve my body lots more, but really haven't found the time or motivation to work out. Now, I'd like to join a gym, but I'm really hurting for money right now. It all needs to be saved for my car/apartment fund. And I have 3-4 months to save up for the both of those.

Anyways, back to what I was saying. I'm thinking of just doing crunches everyday, and I want SOME muscle, at least around my stomach. I'm wanting to train my body to be lean with a *little* muscle definition, but I don't want a rock-hard 6/8 pack. Okay, maybe a little of a 6-pack. But nothing like magazine-cover psycho.

We have a problem, here. I know NOTHING about weight training and don't know what to really do or start off on. Anything you guys could suggest? Oh, and.. Reps are 1 repetition of a thing (like 1 rep of push-ups = 1 push-up, right?) and a set is a collected number of reps, right?

Pic related- It's my current body. I weigh around 160lbs to 175lbs. I haven't weighed myself in over 2 years, but the last time I measured it was 160. My body hasn't changed at all. Any advice, guys? Oh, and, do you think I could see some satisfactory results by August 1st if I did 50 crunches a day, starting tomorrow?

tl;dr - I'm a newbie to fitness and I wanna start something that works, be it at home or I may even buy a membership. I just want Anon's help.

GENTLEMAN...
pull up your pants.

Start running. Take refined/processed sugars out of your diet. But some free weights, and start training with those. Develop your workout based on these exercises:

Compound lift will make you grow. Decide if you want to bulk or cut, and start a bulking or cutting cycle. August 1st will be tough, but it's possible.

Good luck.

It gave you a small gif on how to perform exercises without messing up your back, and what exercises you should do to work certain groups.

For fat loss, do HIIT which is jogging for two minutes then sprinting. Alternate two minutes between each, and do that for ten.

You'll get ripped, and have all the bitches.

You have the money for car/aparatment and not for teh gym. Man you are cheap as hell.

You don't need a gym. Save your membership money and buy a bench, bar, and free weights. Running is easy, GO OUTSIDE.

Best case scenario...get a gym membership. Start working out 3-4 times a week. Do weighted ab workouts (crunches/situps dont do shit.) Do cardio to lose fat. Btw those "psycho" or freaky 6 packs you were talking about, between you and I, we know if you were offered one by god, you'd agree within a heartbeat.
