Q: I want to be able to get big muscles full of water that look good but do absolutely nothing when it comes to strength. What should I do?
A: Buy a Muscle and Fitness magazine and follow everything they say to the T. Also, buy lots of Nitrix and No-Xplode and consume in front of people (helps if you do it in the campus lunch room...grunt after each serving you ingest). For the workouts, do 3x10 sets for everything. Do not do the following exercises though as they will build strength:
1. Squat
2. Deadlift
3. Any Oly Lift
4. Anything where you have to lift your bodyweight (dips, pullups)
So basically, benchpress, arm curl, leg press, leg ext. leg curl, french curl (anything that ends in curl is a go). Next Question

A: That's simple, any 5x5 routine. Nothing says mediocre like only being able to lift weights a certain way. Focus on lifting heavy DEADS, SQUATZ, and BENCH. And that's it, anything else is useless to you. And don't worry if you get taken down by a much smaller wrestler type guy, after all, if you are standing still, with good support, and had enough time to ready yourself, you could outlift him by 20 lbs. in the squat. Oh and do the Nitrix and NO-xplode tip given above. Next Question.

I started Crossfit 8 years ago when I wrestled in high school and thought I was oh so cool. Then I began Starting Strength as per their recommendations. As I got stronger I realized just how weak I really was following Crossfit. Now I just lift heavy and fast, and play soccer in the park with the Mexican workers in my neighborhood.

That's the problem with crossfitards. You have no barometer to actually measure performance with. Your routine regularly denies the utility of hard measurements and dismisses them as irrelevant. That's precisely the problem, your entire fitness philosophy is fit to be dismissed entirely as it isn't based on any real research and there are no third party studies supporting such a methodology as being at all useful.

The average crossfitard thinks he can outrun a tiger and overpower a bear. The truth is that you are weaker than a weight lifter and slower than a runner. Sorry niggers, but your the goals that crossfit espouses are diametrically opposed. Biology proves the body cannot develop in that way. So, all of the trolls are right.

Me: I don't know, crossfit seems like a fairly useful condition tool, but I'd hardly call it revolutionary. It's great that you guys have more people doing Olympic lifts, but you've yet to address the issues of scalability for beginners. When it comes down to it though, I'm much better off strength training in the off season, and replicating the metabolic demands of my sport through interval sprints and sled drags than trying to achieve good results through a general purpose conditioning program.
