Exercise is fucking boring.

I'm 5'11", 21yrs old, and 200 pounds. The manboobs and love handles have to GO.

I find myself trying to watch movies while on the treadmill, and turn on podcasts on my ipod nano (FUCKING BEST). But christ, is it ever a struggle. What do you do to entertain yourself during exercise, /fit/? Or do you even bother?

The point where exercise is fun is still a good distance away. I've made numerous attempts at weight loss over the last year (jogging, DDR, treadmill, biking) but nothing has stuck. Obviously I'm the average exercise failure.
I've got this thing with sweat. I can't stand things being stuck to my body. If I could exercise naked and shave my head, I'd be on easy street. Unfortunately, I still live at home (student). Eventually this problem I have with sweat will go away and I'll enjoy the euphoria of exercise (I HAVE felt it while jogging before, and it's divine).

I'm more interested in what the fat -> healthy people have to say. What were the first few months like? How did you deal with it?

I just imagine the admiration and respect I'll get once I make the gains (or losses, or what have you) that I'll get after I exercise. And if that doesn't help, I just make myself feel like if I don't keep doing it that all the previous exercise I had done prior is all for nothing and I don't want to waste all that effort (because it really is a waste because you'll just get fat again).

Also, if you can watch movies while you're working out, you're not working hard enough.

Remember to actually cut down your daily caloric intake to about 800-1300 or else you'll never lose weight.

This should be the answer to every fat question on /fit/.

Find something enjoyable. Classes are always the best. Martial arts, spinning,. Something where there is a group to get involved with and help motivate.

I agree with the group sentiment. It makes exercise a lot more fun when you actually use the movements in a social situation like a martial arts class or intramural sports team.
