hi.
i've been training for 6 months but my trainer wont give me anything but isolation hypertrophy exercises.

i want to lift to become strong, i don't care how i'll look (symmetry, etc..), and a bonus would be able to use that strenght outside the gym too.

i'm 19, 5'11, 150 lbs, ive been gaining about 2-3 lb per week since i changed my diet, so i think i'm ok.
please make it intense.

There's your first problem. Please stop seeing him. 5x5 deadlift with back exercises one day, 5x5 squat with FS, lunges, etc... another day, and 5x5 bench with overhead press, dips, incline/decline dumbbell bench the 3rd day. Enjoy your useful muscles.

ok so one day i go to the gym and i just do one exercise?
second day i do (front squat?), lunges.
and third day i do those 5-6 exercises?

is it intense enough to do just one exercise on one day? i'm used to do like 10.
but you sound that you know what you look like so i'm going to try to incorporate that but i'd like some clarity

What? No. I'll give you an example.
Day 1: 5x5 deadlift, bent over rows, pullups, seated rows
Day 2: 5x5 squats, front squats, overhead squats, lunges
Day 3: 5x5 bench press, incline/decline DB bench press, overhead press, dips

5x5 really only applies to the big 3. Your reps are more flexible with the supporting exercises but keep them under 8.

You trainer is a douche who probably reads magazines like Muscle & Fitness and Men's Health.

Better than his trainer by the sounds of it. Except for those DDR faggots, they need to be saged off this board.

If you want to have useful strength outside the gym

What do you mean? Do you work in a manual labor job? Fighting?

that sounds pretty good, now that's more like 4 exercises per session. for the other exercises, should i have 5 sets too?

yes he is a few years older than me. it's just a transit underpaid job to get some money for his university classes. so i guess he got rudimentary training

exemples could be shoveling, transporting weighty objects (sand bags, vases..) to the costumer's vehicles at my job. i'm not a huge sports fan, other than sprinting, but i'm a bit fan of high effort during short period of times.

Who is that on OP pic?

i think the original filename was Franco, and this pic looks old, so i think it might be franco colombu?

His example is too complicated for your current setup. There is no real reason to do three varieties of squats in a single workout nor three types of bench press and an overhead press in the same day.
