Hey /fit/, I'm an 18/f; 112 lbs; 16% body fat, and I want to gain 5 lbs or so of muscle. I do cardio five days a week, and lift weights three or four times a week. I've only been able to eat like 75g of protein a day, because I just can't eat that much food, it makes me sick. =[ And I hate eggs, but I eat them, a lot..

Should I use a supplement? I feel like it's cheating. =\ And how much protein do I really need to gain 5 lbs of muscle?!

drink an after workout protein shake with about 30-50grams of protein.

buy the bags or tubs of protein, the ready to drink ones are way more expensive and not enough protein in them.

CHEATERZ NEVAR WIN11!!11!!11

Are you serious? It is cheaper to buy protein mix then a steak. And better for the environment... And easier to cook...

Pretty much what was said there. Don't think of it as cheating, think of it as rounding out your diet so you get a quick surge of protein right when you are in most need, smoothing your body's progress through development.

You don't really need to do much else with your diet that way too, just learn to appreciate the power of the protein drink.

Muscle Milk by CytoSport. It cost just a tad more per gram of protein than other brands, but it is the best tasting Protein powder out there.

they have many flavors also,

.4 or .5 grams of protein per pound of your body is recommended.

So really, 56 grams of protein is all you need per day.

lol I have that exact bag sitting on my shelf right now... I only use it after workout so it lasts a long time. I use 2 scoops in my post workout shake. It tastes ok, about an 80% on the protein powder flavor taste chart.

but Muscle Milk gets a solid 100%

Agree with everyone. Muscle Milk tastes the best, probably also because it has fat and more calories. Not a lot, but worth mentioning

You drink that shit, bitch. Suck down every last drop of that special reserve.

Muscle Milk has unnecessary fat... I think it's pretty crappy.

Just have some 100% whey. ON's double chocolate is pretty good.

Drink protein shake immediately after working out. Your body can use 11 grams of whey protein per hour and you have about 2 hours of time after working out to get all the nutritiens you need so I suggest you get 22-30 grams of protein from the shake because muscle cells can receive more amino acids after working out. Get about 1,2 grams of protein per kg of your weight every day. Eat quality carbohydrates like oatmeal, crisp bread, rye bread, full wheat. Eat nuts, especially cashew, to boost your testosterone levels. Eat garlic for testosterone too. Remember to eat more calories than you spend, oatmeal and rye bread are good for this. Remember not to avoid good fat. Drink milk and eat curd to get casein protein. Consider eating some casein protein before sleep to prevent some catabolism during sleep. During workouts use big weights with reps of 8-10 in sets of three having only 1-1,5 minutes of rest in bethween the sets. Remember to sleep 8-9 hours every night and try have day off after the day you have been in gym.

Oh and I forgot. If you buy 100% whey powder, consider adding some fructose to it to boost your insulin level after working out. I live near my gym and I usually eat some oatmeal or rye bread after coming home from so I don't need to add malto to my protein shake but it is good addition to fructose if you can't get home soon. Fructose boosts your insulin level fast while malto keeps it stable after the fructose has been used up by your body. Consider adding some creatine in your protein shake too.

You are right, I fail. I meant glucose not fructose.
