Is there ANYONE in /fit/ who is actually jacked, or does everyone look like either
skinny fat
or just plain fat lifters who claim they train for strength YET
aren't really strong.

(no a 400 deadlift isn't strong)

A deadlift of 400 lbs is strong. I refer you to exrx strength standards.

>> Anonymous

well no shit, I was being sarcastic.

You can call me skinny if you want but I think I'¨m in a pretty good shape for a 6'4''er
Bulking up wouldn't hurt I guess but muscle mass is not my primary goal, I'm training for boxing.

400lbs deadlift is inbetween intermediate and advanced, for average weight males.

So yes, it's fucking good.
>> Anonymous
400# deadlift isn't strong? maybe not for an olympic lifter, but for the average person that's pretty fucking good, and for any person that doesn't lift to lift it's pretty awesome.

case in point, mark twight, can deadlift ~315 but is a pretty fucking good cyclist

there's probably 3 guys that's ripped, the rest are either fat or skinny. You can look like this guy>>367965and still not be up to /fit/ standards. The dude looks like he's got a decent amount of muscle and good body fat, but on /fit/ he's either seen as fat or weak because everyone here look like a BB, make $200K a year and date supermodels.

but then OP is trolling, 3/10

Wouldn't call myself jacked, but I'm not skinnyfat either. I started out fat and lost weight and gained muscle, took about a year. I want to lower my bodyfat further, be moar cut, but don't want to get bulky, clothes look funny on buff dudes.

Used to be skinnyfat, now I'm just skinny. Haven't gained or lost a single pound in a year, but I look a hell of a lot better. Plus I'm into functional fitness, big time, so I'll never really bulk up. And I'm totally fine with that.

The most /fit/ guys at my gym sure as hell don't look like what you faggots think they should. Guys that could do set after set of muscle-ups on the rings, run for hours, lift/SQUAT/clean relatively huge numbers.

Generally speaking, threads like this point out the true /fit/ people (those that post pictures and look "average), and the clear trolling ignorant fucks (those that harshly critique.)

>>368412
Forgot my sage.

Also, ironic that a forum that shuns isolation exercises and bodybuilding as a way to get /fit/ only want pictures of bodybuilders.

steve house on the right doing pull ups, probably the fittest guy i know of

Ross Enamait. Fittest most bad ass man around. Real free weight and body weight excercises adapted for combat athletes. No feel the pump BB routines. Strength and power do not come from muscle. But is a result of.

"(no a 400 deadlift isn't strong)"

Strong would be a # well above average. A 400# deadlift may not be considered beastly strong, but it's still pretty strong.

I've only been deadlifting for about a year and feel comfortable lifting 310#. I train in Jiu-Jitsu so I don't lift as often as I'd like. And big # but it's given a decisive advantage in many situations with guys that are a lot more experienced. I've been able to power out of many holds that i normally wouldn't be able to.

DING DING DING

you know its possible to train for strength, function, and performance and never take a single look @ how one looks in the mirror, to never do a single fucking curl or crunch?

yet how is this group to be judged by visual standards set by people who train strictly for looks? whose whole world rotates around getting the abs/biceps to pop when they flex.

not everyone "works out" in search of other's approval

Concerning the 400lb DL

Cressey, MSc, CSCS has gone on record to say that anyone under 40 without serious injury can DEADLIFT 400 in 1 year of training.

he's 165 and can deads over 600 (in tested divisions).

and yes, i do find this statement to be true.

deadlifting over 400 means that you are no longer "SHIT" but have the opportunity to just "SUCK". (unless you are under 150...then its good, etc)
>> Anonymous
>>368541

stumpy arms etc...

But I do agree with you partially. 173lbs bodyweight, 4weeks of starting strenght and I'm at 360lbs or so... (350 one week ago improvement has been rapid.)
>> Anonymous
>>368541

you see that doesn't make sense, if you were a pure powerlifter a 400# deadlift wouldn't be good. but if you were an endurance athlete, or anything other than a powerlifter a 400# deadlift is quite amazing. most MMA fighters have a 400-450# deadlift, but you wouldn't consider them weak would you?

This thread shows why it's an idiotic decision to come to /fit/ for health and fitness advise. If you're truly serious about getting in shape and living a healthy lifestyle, see a doctor, personal trainer, or nutritionist.
>> CrossFag !!B/qKSvIDE0V
>>368616
It's a certification from the National Strength & Conditioning Association held by a lot of college and professional team coaches. It's pretty much the only certification that isn't complete bullshit.
>> Anonymous
doctor will prescribe you drugs
trainer will give you terrible advice unless he's reputable or certified by NSCA
nutritionists most of the time don't know what the fuck they are talking about, but ideally this is the only person i would probably go to if i was too lazy to read nutrition journals, blogs, and books

>> Anonymous
>>369620
its all relative

/fit/ is a pack of hyenas

why would ANYone want to participate?
this is truly lose-lose.

numbers with out proof can easily be called e-lifts. i understand this. but i would never link my videos here because anon would find out who i am and what organizations i lift with, and anon is cruel. ultimately, whats the point? on some arbitrary site? really, who do you need to impress?
>> Anonymous
thats what the troll doesn't get, we don't need to impress you or eachother. whatever gains we get we impress people IRL. I'm not getting strong so I can impress some fatass douche on a chan, I'm doing this so I can snap some asshole's neck at the bar and then take his girl home and fuck her all night.

the troll here is irrelevant.

the thing that makes me laugh is they think that none of us go to /b/, that none of us are /b/tards so that somehow trolling mis/fit/s here will make us rage in confusion.

you stupid fuck, the only difference between you and me is I'm actually doing something and I live in the real world. I lift, I run and I'm no longer going to be stuck behind a computer screen BAWWING about my life, secretly raging, impotent like the limp dick that is your life.

We come here to trade technique, ask questions and talk about this shit which we're deep in the trenches with. So keep on trolling fat ass.
