Diet sodas Anonymous
I know this is a retarded question, but I'm retarded, so here it goes.

Diet sodas, are they really that bad? I mean, if you *really* need a soda, is it ok do drink a can of, let's say, diet coke?

Or should you just stay away from that shit regardless?

Calories: 0
Small amounts of caffeine.

Nothing wrong them them at all.
Keep in mind though, they are sweet and your body expect calories when it tastes something sweet. Avoid munching on other snack foods that aren't 0 calorie after you drink them.

just stay away homie

Diet sodas aren't much better then their regular counterparts, but they are to some degree, "better" if you're trying to lose weight, since they have no calories. Its a "pick your poison" kind of deal. Honestly just stay away. I used to be addicted to soda, but after I went cold turkey for 3 weeks I pretty much lost interest. Just persevere for a while and eventually you won't want it anymore.

YOU CANNOT GAIN WEIGHT DRINKING DIET SODA BASED ON THE SODA ALONE. IF YOU GO EAT FOURTEEN HAMBURGERS AFTER DRINKING THE FUCKING SODA, YOU WILL GAIN WEIGHT. THAT IS NOT THE FAULT OF THE SODA.

YOU CAN DRINK THIS SHIT LIKE YOU WOULD WATER IF THAT'S YOUR FUCKING THING. NOTHING BAD WILL COME OF IT.

This.

I quit soda a while ago and now I don't want one, ever. I've had a diet coke a couple times in the last year, for whatever reason (rum and coke, etc) but I never drink soda on a normal day.

I once heard the myth that the sweetness of it will spike your insulin levels the same way regular carbs would. But if this were true, you could drink diet coke all day with your carbs in order to burn them quicker and jumpstart your metabolism like crazy all the time, so I call BS.

Enjoy your diet.

Though why the fuck would you want to drink it in the first place? I guess i'm one of the few that genuinely doesn't like soda's.

>>195026

Sweetness alone does not spike insulin levels as far as I understand.

I like the taste of it from time to time. I'm not so big into diet coke though. I tend to prefer coke zero.

Also, diet pepsi does some nasty shit to your teeth. That stuff I stay away from.

Nothing bad will come of it, except: Overexposing your teeth to high levels of acid, increased sodium intake, less hydration, caffeine addiction, etc.

Yeah, it's not terrible to have 2-3 diet sodas a week if you really miss regular soda, but it's not something you should rely on as a staple drink.

OP here.

Thanks for the advice. I don't really drink sodas often. But when I do I might as well drink diet, there isn't too big a difference really, in taste. I'm not overweight, but meh. Regular sodas are the worst.

Diet Coke:
-Carbonated water
-Caramel color
-Aspartame
-Phosphoric Acid
-Citric Acid
-Potassium Benzoate
-Natural flavors
-Caffeine
Water:
-Aqua
>> Anonymous
Yes if you consider Aspartame better than sugar, I'd avoid it for the most part, the odd one here and there isn't gonna kill you, but for the most part they are all full of shit.

ultra1337protip: diet coke and coke zero are exactly the same, calling it zero was just a marketing ploy to get dieting men who were too embaressed to buy diet coke to buy zero instead. look at the ingridients and nutrition. exactly the same.

The artificial sweeteners used are different and in different proportions you dense motherfucker.

Protip: Be correct about being an asshole before you attempt it.

not quite, they use different sweeteners. if i'm not mistaken, coke zero contains acesulfame-potassium or something.

>Because the amount of aspartame needed to sweeten beverages is so small, the levels of aspartic acid, phenylalanine and methanol derived from aspartame-sweetened beverages are also small. In fact, the digestion of 12-ounce glass of milk produces 13 times more aspartic acid and more than six times more phenylalanine, and digestion of a 12-ounce glass of tomato juice provides nearly six times more methanol, than the digestion of the same size serving of an aspartame-sweetened beverage.
