So /fit/ I'ma newfag to fitness but I've just started at the gym.
My PT said I should be doin 15 reps of my weights twice, but my mate reckons if I split it into 3 sets of 10 reps, I could increase the amount of weight I lift for shorter bursts and would benefit me more.

Advice pl0x

You choose a routine, and you do what a routine asks for. You don't just go to the gym and walk around aimlessly.

The difference between 2x15 and 3x10 is negligible.

That's why I got a PT (Personal trainer) to make a program for me. My question is would what my friend said be more beneficial?

You hired a professional personal trainer so your dumb shit friend could second guess his professional opinions? Flawless use of your money there, champ.

And you're making this assumption from a question I asked whether or not my friend is giving me the right advice? Nice work, chief.

Like I said previously, the difference is honestly negligible. You're still going to be training for hypertrophy, and you're still going to be doing thirty repetitions. Just take note, when you DO get results, it doesn't mean you chose the correct path. You will notice gains simply from the initial stress of your body adapting to new pressure.

Also fuck Personal Trainers.

Good luck!
