Hey /fit/ I just joined Track and Field at my school and am doing hurdles. I did cheer during the past few months so I'm pretty fit but like this is the first sport other than cheer I've ever done. When I was doing the hurdles, I wasn't able to keep which foot I jump with consistent. How can I make my lead leg consistent? Also, afterwards we had to do a sprint across the football field and I wasn't as fast as everyone else. How can I get faster? I guess my main question is how can I run faster.Also, I guess some other information for you would be helpful. I'm 5'10" and about 160 lbs but like I'm not fat, I wear a size small and I guess cheer gives you monsterous thighs and so I gained 20lbs of muscle making me go from 140-160.
You could try beefing your legs up more with 1-3 minute wall sits but you already have strong legs from cheerleading so I'm not sure.
