So I'm eating fairly healthy consuming lots of veggies and fruits, getting the majority of my protein from eggs and nuts (going to buy some whey protein soon too) but I haven't figured out grains. I don't know if I should only eat grains high in complex carbs or what not. Aaand on top of that I'm getting conflicting information on whether I should actually be LIMITING my intake of grains and carbs altogether because of starch and shit.SO:Grains, y/n?What kind of grains?
the only grain i consume are steel cut oatscarbs come easy from fruits and vegetables
I suppose grains are only really important if your not getting carbs/fiber from other sources. But variety is always a good thing.
Whole grains are a valuable source of most minerals.
Generally your carbs are best complex, from whole grains (slower digestion, trace minerals, etc.). If you exercise or do sports, having a small amount of simple carbs/starch around that activity would be ok.
wow even the new food pyramid is a load of shit.
