Hey /fit/,

I basically just hopped in here from my normal /b/ and /s/ faggotry, and i've decided to stay. That being said, i had some questions.
A) I'm about 40lbs overweight. 5'8 about 215. Wide built so it doesn't look too bad, but i'm still big.

B) I work at a grocery store. We sell a "Sparkling water" that is very tasty and has no calories, fat, sodium or carbs, and i was wondering if it was a suitable subtsitute for water (has, citric acid, natural flavor, potassium benzoate, sucralose, and acesulfame potassium. Good stuff? tastes like soda. (i drink normal water too.

C) I was thinking of getting a bike. Not sure what kind. What do you guys recommend?

potassium benzoate - Presurvative, bad for you, and completely pointless, you don;t need to preserve soda (if you package it right).

sucralose - A relatively new artificial sweatener, possible health concerns, nothing as definate as other varieties, though

acesulfame potassium - different artificial sweatener, no definitive adverse health effects, been around a relatively long time, so its probably pretty safe.

citric acid - fine
natural flavor - probably fine, dependant on how its made

There are two big problems with this drink, for one, its carbonated, which inhibits absorbtion by your body, and generally makes it worse for you then water, and additionally it has potassium benzoate in it, which is just daft, along with being unhealthy.

Ok, thanks. I usually drink this stuff instead of a soda at work. It's generally pretty cheap too. I'll go back to regular water. Any alternatives you can think of?

>no less than 50 gears

>less then 50 gears. Check

Wut?

<-- sticking to it.

Get a road bike, off road is for pussies with no power. Nothing beats speed.

If you can find unsweatened, un-preservafied tea, thats ok, or you could go with some sort of sugarless koolaid or something as long as it has the right type of artificial sweateners (the two I already explained are generally the least evil).

Forgot to add, water, and skim milk, are of course always going to be better for you then the alternatives.

What precisely defines a road bike? I asked a friend of mine, and he mentioned a bike type called a cruiser. Not sure what he meant.

I was thinking of going craigslist route.

Any ideas, folks?

Jesus miss/fit/s wuts with not being halpfull to OP today?
A: Skip
B: Drink just plain water, flavoured water is better than soda but still full of shit.
C: Depends on where you're going to go biking, normally any pedal bike will be fine

Ty, btw. Would be too and from work, maybe side trips to my mates house. Couple miles to and from work. I could walk and have, but it's a 20 minute-half an hour walk.. Bike would be faster.

Did you mean skip, as in skip A, or skip as in skip rope? >_>

He said he drinks normal water too, geez. Also, some American cities have shitty water.

Never been to Florida, then, where the water has both color (shades of gray) and odor (brine)?

My house tap is fine. My store water, however, is not. So while i am there, or out and about, I'll bring bottled water with me.

That being said, did anybody look at the craigslist link I posted?

I think you should invest in a water filter, OP. It'll be cheaper in the long run, and what's more, you can just fill containers with your tap water!

Also, as for the bike, I would try posting an ad in your local classifieds, purely for the fact that you have less of a chance to get screwed over if you're in close proximity to see it. Look for something with a few gears, or more preferably, a racing bike of yore (say, from about 25 years ago).
