People who advocate squats are predominantly fat guys that try to rationalize their lack of leanness by bragging about their strength. They're jealous, and the way the jealousy manifests itself is usually something along the lines of...

'Yeah, that guy is doing isolation exercises, he's never going to get huge'

'Guys who don't squat are wimps who have no functional strength'

'Just fuckin' eat.'

You know what I'm gonna do, squatters? I'm going to curl in your squat rack with my 10% body fat body. In fact, I'm not going to work my legs... at all. I'm just going to curl, bench and maybe do some lat pulldown so I don't have an antagonist imbalance.

That's actual fitness. Nobody comes to /fit/ for ideas about how to get stronger and healthier you cockbag, they come to learn how to look better.

Unless someone is a senior citizen or recovering from a surgery, you know they're in the gym out of pure vanity. If they say different, you can smack them upside the head because it means they're lying to your face.
