Ok, my goal is to gain mass. Specifically I want a few inches on my arms. I know the obvious things like eating more, getting more protein and all that good stuff. What I need is some advice on some exercises that I can do that don't require "excess weight-bearing or impact." I was injured recently and had to have my hip replaced, so my doctor says that I can do basic exercise but no weight lifting, running, jumping etc. Any suggestions?

Lift weights, and hers an idea for you, use your arms for it.
Who cares what your doctor said you fucking pussy, you will never gain muscle effectively without them.

That leaves out a lot of the good training sadly.

Pullups and Chinups shouldn't stress your lower body much, and you can get some nice gains from that alone.
Seated curls with different grips should be fine too.
