You'll want to knaw off your god damn arm if you eat like that. You're a big guy if you're 6'4'' and 300lbs. Eating maybe like 2000 calories would be good. I don't know what this canned food idea you have is; it sounds like some kind of diet scam, and it also sounds like it'd taste like shit.
You don't have to starve yourself, just don't be stupid about what you eat. Stick to stuff that's high in protein (helps you ward off hunger), eat vegetables and fruits (preferably fresh, not the can shit), avoid fatty foods (fast food), get some exercise.
If you go jog or bike for 30 minutes a day 3 or 4 times a week and eat around 2000 calories a day, you'll see results at your weight. It won't give you a perfect physique, but you'll see losses.
