Basically, all this commotion around soy began with that article on t-mag or t-nation. From then, everyone is so hyped up about soy, even though most people don't know anything about it, they will carry on the "ooh soy is filled with estrogen", thinking that one glass of soy milk or a slice of tofu cheese will turn you in a woman. I guess the 30% of soy's dry matter is actually pure estrogen?
About the notorious article itself, why it had so much effect is because people are easily frightened. The whole interview was based on her personal opinion, where are all those studies from verified facilities, where are all those thousands of nutritionists confirming that soy is so harmful and filled with estrogen based on their thorough research?
She is the sole responsibility for the soy myths being so widespread. I could care less about her stupid opinion, I've seen thousands of books from doctors and similar claiming all sorts of things, from ghosts to body toxins to anything else.
Sure, go believe some 50 year old bitch scaring you into not eating something. I won't.
