i want to start working out early but the only time i can figure where i can do it constantly is early in the morning say like 5:30, is it better to workout before or after eating breakfast?

from experience, it's only good to do a workout before breakfast if you intend on exercising more later in the day

A run in the morning before breakfast is perfectly fine. A half scoop of protein before wouldn't hurt either. It kind of gets your metabolism up and going in the morning, then your body will have some food after the workout to burn and keep it up.
