Sup /fit/

I do kickboxing, and had a sparring session today. Within my first few fights my shins were in a sorry state - from blocking kicks, and from landing my own. They were so bruised I threw a kick, the guy blocked it with his elbow, and I dropped out. I'm not even a pussy. (THEN they tell me there are some spare shin pads...)

Anyway, feeling my shins for damage, the part I'm blocking with is ALL bone. Skin, then bone. No muscle. Have a feel, you're probably the same. Is there any way to build muscle over your shin bone? And what's best for conditioning the bone?

TL;DR Muscle over shins, and shin condition. Methods and ideas for both.

Yes, anyone with info on conditioning, or even generally hardening your bones, please step up. I'm afraid if I fall or do someting stupid, I'll snap my bones. I used to drink lots of milk, but the taste just started sucking bad. I try to get calcium from other sources like almonds etc.
tl;dr halp for hardening bone structure

seconded, you just need to wait for the nerves in the shin to die or become far less sensitive

you can speed things up by kicking hard things with your shins (trees, other shins) and by rubbing, for example, a metal bar up and down the shin. this will also make the bone flatter and will cause more damage to your opponents
