Loser
/fit/, I'm a fat ass and I went to buy pants today. I was frustrated and disappointed because I thought I had lost weight, but in actuality I've just went down to the size I was last year (possibly a bit worse). I went from a 40 last year to a 42 this year.

So /fit/, post your waist size. Just curious.

Nise.

Oh yah, just to clarify, I was fitting barely into a 40 in December of 2006. I'm currently an on the spot 42. Fuck me.
>> Loser
I might as well add my stats. I'm 17, weigh 260, and I'm 5'8.

I want to be 200 by September and probably at a 34 waist size...But that's just wishful thinking.

Yah, I'm going to college this summer and will have lots of free time. 24 hour fitness is a block away. Hopefully things work for me. There's a girl in this situation of course.
>> Anonymous
eh, people on here will of course call you a fatty and blah blah blah, but take some credit for wanting to do something about it. Believe it or not, once you get in to a routine, you'll find it harder NOT to follow it.

Don't feel bad either. Hell, we are practically force fed things that are bad for us. We see it on TV, in print, on every street corner we pass.

Eating right will cost more than eating wrong, but the payoff is worth it and you'll acquire a more sophisticated pallet. Good luck OP and if you can, take photos of your progress. You can use it to inspire others.
>> Loser
My problem is that (other than being fat of course) my body is bad at proportioning and shit. I did squats and shit since April and I noticed my ass was quickly losing lots of meat. My thighs had lots of fat, but still have a lot of fat. The thing is that it's hardening up, but still fat nonetheless.
Problem is that it didn't affect my upper body at all and it looks the same. It looks so weird now being huge in the upper body and not as huge in the lower body. This is why I'm a skeptic when it comes to the myth of spot reduction.

it's just genetics. if your last fat deposits are on your upper body, you'll lose all that as you keep burning more and more bodyfat.

I don't have a camera, but I would if I could. I might take my mom's camera phone lol. I have a facebook, but it doesn't show how fat I am. Thanks for the encouragement. I'll make sure I'll take a picture when the Summer comes.
I use thedailyplate.com to track my food since a few days ago. I fucked up today, but I guess I'll bounce back. I haven't had time to do my cardio work outs so I try to make up for it by just doing hindu squats and like a 10 minute "makesuremyheartispumping" workout. Then I'll probably finish off with weighted squats, 30 crunches, 30 push ups, and a prayer.

I fucked up today, but I'll make sure I'll keep the fat intake lower. My BMR says to eat 2.1k calories if I want to lose 2lbs per week. I haven't even gone to the 2k calories, but I don't feel much lighter. It's only been a few days so I guess I can't decide whether it's working yet.

I just read the Aerobic Fallacy article posted earlier here on /fit/ and I'm convinced that I should stop doing weak ass walks and weak ass jogs for 30 minutes. No pics sorry, I was a pretty camera shy fatfuck at the time, and there arent really any photos of me at that time that show the full extent of my bulk,

what I did was eat very very little for one week allowing my stomach to shrink then after that week resumed a 1500 calorie diet split into six meals which really filled me up and I wasnt left wanting excess food due to my shrunken stomach. Honestly I didnt do much excersise at all but it would've been faster if I had. I think regularity was the key to my successful diet as I designed detailed daily meal plans with no room for snacking or shit like that.

good luck anyway.

Easily achievable IF YOU PUT THE WORK IN.

As a comparison, here's me:

5'10

3 months ago - 280lb
now - 237lb
Lost 18cm on waist so far

By predictions on how hard im pushing myself and taking into account it will slow over time i will be under 200 by September.

Consider the fact you are 20lb lighter at starting point, it is achievable to reach 200 by september.

Lurk more around here, i seem to copy & paste exact same post in every "im fat, how to lose weight?".

Basically 1 hour cardio a day built up over 8 weeks (use the cross trainer at the gym), and a diet consisting of protein and vegetables.

You cant spot reduce fat i.e. 1lb fat lost doesnt = a constant mm lost on your waist. Fat is generally burned off from where it was last deposited afaik, so it will come off all over which results in the "ffs i havent changed at all in a month".

Since most of you probably aren't interested in female waist sizes...here's my (slightly chubby, but working on it) boyfriend's stats:

32 is relatively tight, and I prefer 34. I have a good-sized ass, so that makes part of it. I'm not very fat at all, just have a bit of flab that won't work out right. The rest is muscle. ^_^

Pant sizes and waist sizes seem to be different lately due to fashion. I buy a '38 inch waist, sometimes it fits, the majority of the time it doesnt. This desire and fashionable to be wearing skinny, skin tight clothes isnt natural. The EU has been proposing a standardised measurement for clothes since fashion has been abusing this and might aswell be labelling them wrong. A '38 is now practically a '36 in most stores.
>> anonymous
well due to the fact that the pants target sells have very skinny legs, and i weightlift everyday & have done so for the past 2 years i have developed legs that arent skinny. So i wear a size 34 pants so that i dont look like an emo fag. But i can easily fit in and button a size 32 waist, and can fit in most size 30 waisted pants. but, i dont like the way they hug my legs and make me look like an emo fag so i usually by size 34
