Hello /fit/tards.

I am looking at starting weightlifting again, but I want to lose a bunch of fat first before concentrating on putting on size. Any suggestions other than just running a bunch and eating a bunch less?

Start lifting weights now, regardless. And don't eat too much less.

But what about cardio etc?

Start lifting NOW. Start out with light cardio - don't do it at the expense of lifting (i.e. if you're too tired from bike/jogging to lift, do less cardio). Don't eat less food, but DO eat less simple carbs like bread and rice. NO SODA, don't drink calories.

actually don't start out with cardio, it's better for muscle growth to do cardio after lifting. something about running beforehand decreases the amount of growth hormone your body releases. so do it after lifting.
