how important is it to have a variety of different exercises in your routine? I've gotten pretty confident doing quite a few different ones or making small changes like one week doing bench press with a standard barbell, then the next time using dumbells etc. I still feel like I'm doing the same exercises too often though, is this a bad idea?

For example, for back days I typically always do deadlifts, seated cable rows, and pulldowns. I do 4 sometimes 5 exercises always, so it's only the last 1-2 that I try and mix up a bit(machine row, bent over etc.) Not strong enough to really add in pull-ups/chins just yet, I can do probably 3-4 but its really rough and not worth it yet I don't think.

But anyway, all my sessions usually follow something like that. Theres some exercises I just really like so I feel alot better doing them everytime.
