I recently injured my erector spinae, and im not totally sure how.

I just started the 5x5 stronglifts program, so im thinking that it was maybe from the deadlifts?

Also, how long does an injury like this take to heal up? im getting irritated about not being able to hit the gym.

takes about 2 - 4 days to heal, if its not too serious.

like if it hurts when you cough and shit, that's a bad injury

Ye, im hurtin pretty bad atm, not when i cough, but when my arms ger into certain positions, and i constantly have to hunch my shoulders forward to relieve the pain.

Congratulation you dumb nigger.

You didn't research anything before starting deadlifts (a dangerous exercise that even most powerlifters don't do those every week and never without proper equipment). How about learn the form first properly and doing them with any weight.

In any case don't go to the gym for next couple weeks if the problem remains, see your doctor asap.
