Dear /fit/,
I have been lurking here for a while now, and I know that you get a lot of posts like this but I need help.
I am trying to loose weight, it's been working, (okay, maybe not, but I've lost a small amount of weight) and I would like some advice on how to improve what I'm doing.
I walk everyday to and from work, at work I tend to do a lot of running/walking/heavy lifting.
I don't eat much because I start work at 3.30 pm and I tend to sleep til 12, I usually 'boozt' which is just fruits, über skim milk (has like 0,1% fat in it, don't know the english name) and this yogurt thing (Skyr if Icefags are here) inbetween I eat grapes, drink water, maybe if I'm really hungry I have Special K and for dinner I usually have pasta and some form of meat (usually chicken), oh I get fish for free, but I haven't been bothered cooking any.
I also have one of those fat reducing grills which came with the house.
Any advice?

How far do you work? You might need to do more cardio. You need 5 small meals a day. If you can't do 5 because of work or whatever, eat as often as you can, but keep the calories low. Google calorie calculator, figure out how many calories you need a day based on your height/weight, take 500-600 off of that, and eat that much of healthy foods.

You also need some veggies in your diet. Pick what you like and eat them. Pasta isn't great for you, but every now and then is ok. Fish is fine to eat too, plus if it's free then what else can you ask for?

That doesn't tell us much because you haven't really included any numbers or figures. What weight are you and do you know how many kcals you are eating daily?

If you don't count, start. Generally you want to limit carbohydrate intake whilst trying to achieve a state of fat loss because your body will only begin to draw on fat reserves once carbohydrates in the body are sufficiently low. This is extremely easy to achieve but hard to maintain over the duration of a diet (because you need to be pretty hungry).

That doesn't mean you can eat unlimited amounts of protein because obviously protein will get converted into glucose when found in surplus amounts.

Basically, do bodyweight in lbs x 8-11 depending on how extreme you want to be, and eat that number of calories in a day for a week. Weigh yourself. Focus on getting a fair amount of protein per day. Dietary fats are advised but whenever I go on a diet I do great with just carbs + protein.

I do something like this, but change every day or two. Sometimes I'll make enough at once for two or more days.

Breakfast -
2 egg white omelet with cheese
OR
Oatmeal with a fruit

Snack -
toast with pesto or something

Lunch -
chicken breast with veggies (carrots, broccoli, ect)

Snack -
something easy/left over

Dinner -
Vegetable (no rice) stir fry with ginger, garlic, carrots, green peas, squash, zucchini squash, ect with a few turns around the pan of low sodium soy sauce.

So your main problem is working on your abdominal muscles. So you should do some sit ups. At first concentrate on doing them right not how much of them you do. If you are doing them right you should feel a burning feeling in your abdominal muscles. And the most important thing keep your back straight or you will risk an injury of your lumbar spine. If you do sit ups right you strenghten your back muscles at the same time.

Well if you want to lose weight at the same time you should do them before breakfast. When you wake up drunk a glass of water to get yourself hydrated and then start doing them. That way the body will be forced to use it's reserve fuels like fat.

If you want to quickly gain muscle mass you should do them half an hour after a protein rich meal.

I don't guess they have them where you are. Wikipedia it. But you can replace them with whatever you like.

Situps aren't really gonna burn fat/make your abs show. To do that you have to get your body fat % low. They'll just be a waste of time, IMO.
