/fit/ i have strange ideas about lifting.
i feel that by lifting the most possible weight i will build the most amount of muscle. I dont waste time on exercises that use small amounts of weight. I only care about how much total mass i moved at the end of the workout. Does this theory hold water?

yes and no.

If you mean doing shit like 1 rep at a time or 3 or 4 at a time, no. It doesn't.

But if you're talking about heavy weights from 6-10, and by the last rep your not sure if you can rack it, then yes.

I lift 3sets of 10reps. Rep 10 should be hard as fuck. You might only hit 8 or 9 on the last set.

That is how I lift.

I do 6-8 reps where I can barely get the last set done.

I doubled my lifts in the last year, but i was pitiful before.

Plateaued now.

you mean like, you only work out your calves, quads, and pecs because those are the muscles that can lift the most weight?
