sup.

i'm in good shape. for the past year i have been training heavily and it shows. 5'10 i am 160 with 9% bf. i'm also 18

but even so, i can't run, jog, or do any kind of endurance for shit. it's been like this ever since i was a kid. i always got tired real quick.

whenever i run/jog, within about 20 seconds i begin to get tired. from this point on i have to keep pushing myself despite my difficulty breathing and feeling constant pain in my lungs. the pain steadily increases and is always there, until i stop running. the most i ever jogged without stopping was 30minutes, but i really pushed myself.

i don't understand why it's so difficult for me to run. i see plenty of joggers jogging like there's no tomorrow and they don't seem to experience any difficulty breathing or pain in their legs, even if they're 50 years older than i am. these people can go non stop for hours and miles at any given time and act like it's nothing, whereas i can't even accomplish a simple mile without dieing.

the fuck is wrong with me? is this normal?

pic, related.

Do you drink water while you run/jog?

Do you try to push yourself to go at the fastest you can for the whole period you're running?

I suppose the only real solution is to just build yourself up. Start small and push just a little bit every run.

Music helps me. I turn on my player when burning in the lungs become unbearable. Then it suddenly gets bearable and eventually decreases a bit.

u sound like a smoker, quit it or get more oxygen in your blood somehow

alright, since you didn't answer my question i'll just post what i did.

i started taking sips of water whenever my mouth got dry. it stopped my lungs from feeling as if someone was sitting on my chest.

after that i started doing intervals. when i first began i could only do 15~20 minutes of walking/jogging, now i can do 50 or more. i start out with a 5 minute warm up, then do 10 minutes fast, then i slow down again. then fat again, then slow down, etc etc. you can go a lot longer if you just slow down before you tire yourself completely. it took no effort to do 45 minutes the first time it tried doing this, and the only reason i don't go past an hour is because i've other shit i have to do.

no i don't take sips of water. i didn't think it would help. but i guess i might try it out. thanks for the advice + wanting to help

to other posts. no i'm not a smoker. if music or some form of motivation helps then i'm good.

sounds like my asthma can training cure that?

i might have asthma. i've never seen a doctor and i have problems breathing occasionally during the summer time. but the reason for my wanting to run more is so i can perform well and have an easier time at recruit training. i don't think they'll take recruits with asthma

Yeah I know a guy who got a month into boot camp and got kicked out because he had an asthma attack.

And you will be running EVERYWHERE in recruit training so you might want to make sure you don't have any lung problems.

do you carry a bottle of water in your hand when running? Fanny pack?

i was like that. then i took shaolin kung fu. got like 90% of my asthma gone. then it kicked the pussy out of me. now i have more endurance than a dog.

OP you could be anemic like me
>> Anonymous
>>261174
im not OP but anemia is related to not breathing? what?
>> Anonymous
>>261183

anemia is related to not getting enough oxygen in your blood, which can make you out of breath as your lungs try to compensate by working twice as hard.
