Sup mis/fit/s

How do you usually position your feet when performing SQUATZ? I've seen quite a few videos but none focus on the feet and legs position.

Excuse my horrible attempt at art, pics are "supposed" to be top down.

1 2 3 or something else?

I guess diagram #1 is most similar. Feet should be a shoulder's width apart, and parallel to each other.

p.s. /thread (there are several "OMG I LIEK SQUATZ1" threads going around tonight, all started by the same newfag.)

Shoulder width and parallel. Same with almost every lift that I do standing up. I always double check for squats though, since having off footing hurts my hips for real, heavy SKWATZZ.

Somewhat similar question, how do you position your legs when doing DUMBBELL deadlifts? I always seem to bang my weights against my legs and it sucks. Then again it may be because I have big ol adjustable dumbbells instead of the traditional ones.

Same positioning. I use the university gym with preset dumbbells though. None the less, my shorts look like they've gone through a woodchipper from being scraped by deadlifts.

Sometimes I go from deadlifts to shoulder shrugs, bringing the barbells more to my sides than straight in front of me. It's great, but it a) kills my forearms, and b) I can deadlift a lot more than I can shrug, so it's a trade-off.

Another question so i dont start another SQUATZ thread, I am starting doing them tomorrow, do I start with air squats or do I start with back/front ones right away?
