>>476704 It's all a matter of degrees. Therapists have different degrees than psychologists. They usually go through less schooling and such. They can not give out prescriptions. Neither can psychologists. Therapists are usually used for short term problems, and are sometimes mediators between two people, such as in a marriage. Psychologists usually spend much more time with the patients, often longer than a year on a frequent basis. Usually they help people figure out deep rooted emotional problems. They also can not give out prescriptions. Psychiatrists can give out prescriptions, and have M.D.'s or PhD's. They do not have the same demeanor as a therapist or a Psychologist, and it is their job to monitor doses of medications, and determine if it's tailored to your needs.
