Hey, /fit/.

Since "Health" is in this board's name, this seems like the most suitable place to ask this.

I have some sort of infection on one of my fingers. I can't remember when it showed up, but I've had it for a while. At first it was just kind of dry and flaky and I didn't take much notice of it. I tried an antifungal cream but I didn't really stay on top of applying it and ended up forgetting about it.

In the past couple of months, it's gotten more severe. Sometimes it'll itch or burn, crack, flake, generally look really irritated, ooze clear stuff from little bumps, shit like that.

I picked up a grocery store brand antifungal cream because I guess I'd lost whatever I'd been using before, but it seemed to have no result. I switched to Tinactin, which has a different active ingredient, and on that day my finger cleared up almost completely. After that, though, it went back to its previous state.

So if these antifungal medicines aren't working well, what could it be? Should I switch to something else with a different active ingredient again? I'm kind of at a loss. I'll probably end up going to see a doctor when I move back home in a couple of months, if it hasn't cleared up by then.

Board full of illiterates? I don't want to bother with seeing a doctor in this state because my insurance company is stupid. A little irritation on my finger is not life threatening and I can wait until June when I'm back at my house to go see my local doc. So why not ask the all-knowing almighty internet?

Because based on your description it could be a simple fungus or an outbreak of fucking syphilitic sores. Get the fuck out and go to a fucking doctor.
