Sup /fit/ness fanatics, I'm here to talk about your heart rate, and ask about it too.

What can I do to improve on this without going TOO over the top? You see, I have a history of doing a lot of cardio, which in my opinion didn't do much for my body composition goals and just made me weaker, but hell if it didn't make my heart strong as steel. It was under 60 bpm at one point.

Now, it goes between 66-78 bpm, depending on how excited or anxious I am about something.

tl;dr what can I do to keep my heart healthy which doesn't involve cycling or running for hours upon hours per day?

Your heart rate is quite healthy.

Resting heart rate is measured before getting out of bed when you wake up after a good night's sleep. If you're in good in shape it might be below 60.

sometimes its genetics. The lowest i'e ever had it for a consistant amount of time is 60 bpm and that was when i was exercising ever day.

face it, you should do cardio everyday regardless of your health.

also, look into relaxation tecniques and meditation. that has helped me out a lot!
