Loose Joints Anonymous
So /fit, I've had loose joints all my life, like being able to bend my fingers back 90 degrees or more, touching my toes and then some without any practice, and in general being overly flexible without any effort. Used to piss people off in juijitsu since the had to go to the extremes for joint locks to make them work. Shit like that.

So since I've started weight lifting and and a cardio program I was wondering if you guys knew any any special considerations I should take. Also any diet tips to increase joint strength would help.

TLDR: Loose ass joints. WTF should I do.

When weight lifting I would recommend Not extending past 180 deg,

I would also keep pissing off jiu-jitsuists/ become a cage-fighter, etc.

i have hypermobility (link here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypermobility) , like being able to dislocate my shoulder and the likes.
my doctor told me to do more exercises for my shoulders to strengthen the joints, i also eat seal oil which is full of omega3 vitamins.
my best tip would be to ask your doctor on what he knows about hypermobility.

I used to have joints like OP's pic but they've tightened up over the years. If you're still young then give it time, otherwise just be careful about hyperextension and work on strength for joints that seem loose.
