Hi there /fit/,

I'm new to this board in 4chan. I myself am a big /a/ and /b/ lurker, but realized how much this board can help me in the coming months.

I'm 19 years old and am a male senior in high school. I am about 5'4. About a year ago, I used to weigh around 82 KG's (or 180 pounds-ish). Now I weigh around 65 KG's (or 145 pounds-ish).

I lost this weight over the course of seven or eight months beginning at the end of my Junior year. I motivated myself to lose weight and I did.

Here's most of what I did:

1. Stopped eating 6 hours before bed

2. If I DID eat, it would either be fruits or vegetables.

3. Ate a bowl of salad with very simple low-fat olive oil dressing EVERYDAY.
Comment too long. Clickhereto view the full text.

Anyone please? -_-

you want to weight 130 pounds? Troll obvious is troll.

No, I'm dead serious sir. 130 pounds is the equivalent of around 57 KG's. And I am 5'4. Now I am 145 pounds. Isn't that reasonable to attain within 6 months?

OP here again: And besides, I did manage to lose about just as much in the course of 7-8 months. The only thing I want to know is if there is something that I need to change in my habits in order to do so!

a man weighing below 60 kilos is embarassing
>> SauCe MAsTA!!!

No everyone is 6' or taller. The reason he weights what he weights is because of his height.

Take up swimming or running, maybe get into a sport. (even golf can get you walking and moving)

The idea is to keep as active as possible

Seriously dude, I think you really fucked yourself up with that shitty diet. I bet 20 dolla that when you start eating like a champ again (which you will need to do to gain muscle) you will gain 5 pounds of fat for every 1 pound of muscle.

>>83706

Need I remind you that I am 5'4? Or 1.63 Meters tall...

>>83718
Yeah, thanks. But I really don't the time to start a sport. I really hope that perhaps I can continue my "power walking" habits and perhaps increase it? It's the most convenient for me, cause I have a nice treadmill at home. What do you think?

>>83720
Shitty? Well excuse me, I managed to lose nearly 20 kilograms worth of weight in a very healthy way. Through changing eating habits and exercise. How is it shitty? It's not as if I starved myself to death or took pills!

Yes, shitty diet. You ate one salad a day? Fucking hell, then you have the nerve to say that your weight loss is the only crucial factor in determining it's efficacy - well it isn't. You may have lost weight, but you also lost muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat. And good on you for exercising, at least keep that part up.

Then how should I change it? Eat more salads? Or eat something else?

Can there be anything done about the muscle loss?

And can you elaborate on the muscle loss part? I'm not too familiar with that type of terminology. I've never really felt any pain during my diet...

pretty sure he means he added salad to his diet.

i dont think anyone would only eat JUST salad.

you people are dumb...

>>83755

OP here. Should've been more specific. Yes, I did add salads to my diet...but it was NOT the only thing I ate!

You need to shut the fuck up and read/lurk moar.

>2. If I DID eat, it would either be fruits or vegetables.

Anon - muscle loss doesn't result in pain. You wouldn't have felt it. But if you checked your body composition weekly you would be able to tell how much muscle you were losing. Don't worry though. Whatever you lost can be gained back in short order due to muscle memory.

Thanks.

But just to be specific, #2 in my original post applied ONLY 6 hours before bed.

So... what the hell did you mean by

>2. If I DID eat, it would either be fruits or vegetables.

???

Whenever you felt like having fruits and vegetables you had some? Is that all? No meats? No dairy? No fats? You've gone to extreme measures OP, and it's not entirely your fault what with all this bullshit nutritional science out there.

As with everyone who wants to figure out the best way to lose fat (as opposed to losing weight) I recommend Venuto's Burn the fat, feed the muscle.

ignore the first part. slow typing

First question, how are you 19 and only a senior in high school?

Secondly, you are never, ever going to have a body-builder's physique. Those guys are genetic freaks first, and know what they're doing second, plus they eat a hell of a lot more than you.

I don't understand why you wouldn't want to look muscular, but whatever. You're going to do a bodybuilding routine, so I would go to T-nation and do some research there. They have a lot of knowledgeable people, and you could find a bodybuilding program that suits you.

Finally, as you start to lift weights, I'd add more protein into your diet.

Well, if you're still in high school, join the track team for the last few months of the year. Run distance if you want to loose more weight. They probably don't care if you're that slow, just as long as you don't pussy out during practice. As for meets, do mid-distance, so its not as obvious that you suck.

Eat slower. After your first helping, take a bit of a break (10 minutes) just to see if you become full.

Yeah, at night (that is, 6 hours before bed), I would not eat anything other than fruits or vegetables. Other than that, my eating routine is pretty regular. I eat lots of bread, cereal, meats, the usual...I'm not one for fast foods...

>>83785
I'm not saying I don't want to look muscular, I'm just saying that it's not on my top list of priorities. I just don't want to be entirely flabby.

>>83790
No can do sadly. Lots of practice AP exams right now and tons of homework. Thanks anyways.

>>83797
Thanks. I'm trying that already :)
