Soup /fit/,

I'm a pretty healthy/fit guy, I only drink water and occasionally flavored water and have a very balanced nutritious diet. I work out moderately 5 days a week doing a little bit of everything, and afterwards I hit the track by my house.

My question follows this statement, I'm not a big fan of running, I have average stamina for my muscle mass, I know it's important so I do a little but I'm wondering if what I am doing is effective.

I usually just run full throttle around this quarter mile track one time, then jog a lap or two then go home. Is this doing anything for me? Certainly it must have SOME benefit, I'm by no means fat or skinny, always have been muscular.

OP here, just one more remark, I obviously don't follow any guides or programs, just sort of do what I do.

run for 30- 60 minutes per day at a moderate pace that you can keep up. i do 6.5 mph on a treadmill

No doubt you're burning a calorie, but it's probably not a lot.
Try the couch to 5k program and see how you do. It's designed to ease you into running so it doesn't seem ~impossible.

It's helping you sprint around a track one time and go home. Does little for your cardio tho.

You're running less than a mile a day. That does jack squat. Gotta do at least 3 miles.

awesome. thanks boss

unless you are actually a long distance runner and preparing for long distance comp.

running 1 mile will be better than jogging 3
hell, running 4x400m would be even better
or...fucking A, 16x100m
