I'm extremely skinny, 5'9 and 125 pounds. I think I obviously need to start getting more protein. Unfortunately I don't want to spend that much money on food or a ton of energy on cooking it. What are some good cheap/easy to prepare sources of protein? other inexpensive healthy food item suggestions also accepted

this and cottage cheese, and LOTS of oatmeal.

If you want to bulk, you're going to get some fat, and you're going to have to eat more. Best thing you can do: Get a food "diary" of what you eat and when, and see how much you really eat in a day. Too many skinnies say "I eat everything in sight" and "I eat so much", but when you measure how much they eat it's really not that much.

Can't bulk without getting a little bit of fat. Or you can; it'll just take a LOT longer.

Then again, that's what cutting is for (burning off the fat once you gain an optimum amount of weight)
