Hey /fit/

Just bought a speed bag, and was wondering how long I should go at it for a good workout and what it will specifically effect.

It won't work out much except technique. Go individual arms, 120 hits per minute, then do right-right-left, left-left-right.

Yes I went at it as fast as possible until my arms wouldn't lift anymore. But if I was to go at a moderate pace, how long would I need to make it go for? Also, what are the specific benefits of it?

I see, but is it good for toning arms and building/defining muscle? Because the way my arms feel right now makes me think it does...

You don't do it that way. It's not a cardio exercise, it's not a resistance exercise, it trains your form, technique, and speed. Odds are if you're going at it as fast as possible you're compromising your technique.

Toning arms and giving you better reaction time and speed, yes. Building muscle, not really.

I see. Well I"ll make sure to keep myself at a certain pace and watch that. Thank you.

I see, well good to know I'm getting toning and speed from it. I have muscle, but my arms around the armpits are pretty flabby.
