My goal used to be: Sexy anonymous, but i didn't like working individual bodyparts
My goal now is: Strong anonymous.
So today i asked my trainer a strenght routine and he gave me the following. I will compare this routine with Stronglift's 5x5 squat routine and tell me wich is better for me.

Trainer suggested this full-body workout;
1. 3x8 Hack Squat Machine, 160lbs (Compared to the Incline squat machine, the movement feels very smooth.)
2. 3x8 T-Bar with pad, 45lbs (The pad gives chest support, wich probably makes it easier.)
3. 3x8 Bench Dumbell Press 25lbs(I think that this one isn't bad?)
4. 3x8 DB Biceps curl 20lbs (I think i should remove that one. Strenght routine only have compounds)
5. 3x8 Weird tricep exercise involving holding a dumbell behind the head and flexing 25lbs (Do not want.)
6. 3x12 Weighed Crunches Machine (It's not bad, but my back hurts, it might be the machine or my weak back?)

And below is Stronglift's 5X5 Split-day routine;
Day A
Squat 5x5, Bench Press 5x5, Barbell Rows 5x5, Dips 3xFail

are you just beginning to lift? if you are then i think you should go with your trainer's routine because the high volume of work will help condition your joints and tendons.

you should move into the 5x5 routine after a few weeks of your trainer's routine. 5x5 routine is very demanding if you are going to be lifting heavy on all the lifts.

Yes, forget the shitty machines.
Do the 5x5, but don't do squats and deadlift on the same day.
Instead I'd do squats 5x5 on day1 and deadlift 5x5 on day two and if you feel like it power clean 5x5 on day three.

jesus that trainer is a joke. you will put on some size with the 5x5 so dont eat too messy or your stomach will get soft. i highly recommend olympic lifts for strength but the 5x5 is good. your basic tried and true strength routine.
