I want to lose body fat and don't plan on doing that much exercise, something like 15-30 minutes of cardio everyday.

Would I lose body fat if I ate lots of protein and very low carbs? A friend said it worked for him, but I am skeptical.

Also, I am about 5 foot 9 and weigh around 190lbs.

Exercise is not an RPG. Just because you are level 1 right now does not mean that you only need a little bit of xp to get better. The more out of shape you are (aka the less you exercise) the more exercise it will take to get to your goal body.

It's two-thirty in the morning, you can only expect so much.

But since you took my rude advice so well, I'll give you some slightly more real advice.

Google BMR calculator and use one that uses a harris-benedict equation. Eat 500 Cal less than what you calculate (from the harris-benedict equation). Eat high fiber, low glycemic index, hig protein, etc. You want roughly 20% of you Cal to be from fat, 20% from protein, and the rest from carbs.
