Sup /fit/, I'm overweight and I've just started working out. I'm posting my routine to see if it needs anything else.

Running up and down hills for 30-40 minutes
10 sets of 50 jump ropes
Hundred push ups program
5 sets of 15 bicycle crunches.

Do I need anything else?

Do squatting jump ropes. Squat every time you do a jump.

Better way to jump rope = double unders. 2 spins of the rope per jump, WHIP your wrists. These take practice, and will probably be very frustrating at first... but in the end they are head and shoulders above normal jumping rope.

Also squats. Seriously. Lifting heavy weights builds muscle, which burns fat, you might not lose the weight as fast but you will start looking and feeling much better. Rippetoe's Starting Strength or the Stronglifts are the safe bets for beginner programs.

And diet, eat clean food (good carbs/protein/fat) in balanced smaller proportions 5-6 times throughout the day. Someone can fill in the details, but that's pretty much it.

Do a squart burpee.
