No food is bad for you in proper portions. I have a PB&J every morning with a 120 calorie bowl of cereal. It totals up to 290 calories, which I round to 300 for simplicity's sake.
My PB&J:
Two slices of Schwebel's "Light and Fit" whole wheat bread (35 calories per slice, 5 net carbs per slice)
One tablespoon JIF peanut butter (95 calories, 8 grams of fat, most of which is unsaturated)
One tablespoon Smucker's sugar free Strawberry or Blackberry jam (10 calories)
The whole sandwich is only 175 calories. Fat is the same calories as carbs and proteins, it's just in a more dense package. You only want to avoid saturated and trans fats due to the damage they can do to your heart, but regular fats are required by your body, especially the unsaturated ones which your body can not produce itself. Fat is in everything from our brains to our cell walls.
Peanut butter is good for you. Fat is not the enemy unless it is saturated or trans, just watch your calories.
