hi /fit/,
I'm 17, 5'8 and I weigh 115 pounds. I eat plenty.
I'm wondering if doing something like 40 push ups/sit ups, and taking a 20 minute walk/jog every day would add some mass to mai frail frame.

the only way to add mass is to eat more than you burn. your metabolism is set to keep you at a constant weight. it will speed up or slow down depending on your food intake to maintain a certain weight, muscle mass, fat amount, ect. the body likes things nice and stable.

you have to overthrow that stable environment. I am not sure of the actual formula, but you have to figure out how many calories you eat on an average day and then increase that by some amount. again, I don't know how many calories support a pound of muscle, or anything like that. i am hoping some generous anon will supply the details, but in the event that one does, just look for lean protein sources to add to your diet and pack in some healthy snacks in between your three regular meals.

17 5'6 here 119 lbs. been there done that only got slight muscle definition on my arms since there wasn't much there to begin with and got the beginnings of a 4 pack. Figured I do too much cardio and burn too many calories to gain significant mass right now.

Stop doing high reps,do 10-15 that don't leave you feeling like you could do a few more.Do that every day excpet sunday with proper squats and push ups a few times a day with a 15-20 minute break
