Dear /fit/ I turn to you for advice simply because I'm a disgusting animal with no understanding of physical fitness, or how to attain physical fitness.

I'm 23, engaged, and weigh 245 pounds. I'm 5'10" and would love to be in shape by the time I get married (April 25th 2010), so I think I have plenty of time to do that.

I eat decently now, but I used to be in a work situation where I only had time for fast food thus I turned into the festering blob I am now and can't shake the weight.

I have an anorexic friend who tells me I could do a green diet with intense cardio and easily drop the fat in a few months; I'm curious if anyone that's a little more informed than she is could provide some insight on a "green" diet. When she says green she means solely lettuce of sorts, spinach leaves and things along that line.

Would this be healthy? I'm assuming I'd be missing out on some essential nutrients, but I could be mistaken. Any input on how I can turn my fat self into a porn star would be wonderful.

You should eat alot of green vegetables. But still keep a balanced diet.

Also be aware that drastic changes in your appearance may not have a positive effect on your relationship. I'm just saying.

you drop a fuckton of bodyfat in 7-10 months, I'd give it about 10 till you are at abs but you must eat clean and stick to it, no stupid dumb nigger diets

so that gives you 7 months of hard lifting after you are cut down, then 1 month of cutting for the wedding

but if you are more concerned about your goal date you could just start bulking now, put on some muscle and your fat will come off alot easier, but most people don't take this route

I have a lot of upper body strength, especially in my arms. I used to dough slap at a pizza shop, and I'd do that about 5 hours a day 5-6 days a week for almost 2 years. I can bench 250-275 easily, rep after rep. My main concern is losing the fat on all of my torso and thighs.

She isn't literally anorexic, but appears sickly and unhealthy, however she is fit and can jog for miles and miles at a time which is why I gave her some credibility.

Because my fiancee is in the nursing program until that Spring, and between her work at the hospital and her clinicals her schedule alone won't provide for enough free time to put things together and get hitched.

No. Eat a balanced diet and avoid eating fatty/salty/sugary foods with little nutritional value. All you need to do is maintain a caloric deficit (burn more than you consume), do this by exercising and eating *properly*.

Food gives you energy, you need that energy to exercise. Don't starve yourself by just eating some fucking vegetables.

We've dated 3 years with no infidelity, or even the issue of infidelity coming up... but then again we're swingers, so any need for variety has been satisfied.

First, we live together, then: we have the same phone plan, so I see all her calls, we have one another's e-mail info, she's in class from 8:00am - 2:00pm and then works from 3:00pm-11:00pm (the drive from the college to her work is about 45 minutes so no time there), then sleeps M-F, we share our weekends together (swinging on Saturdays). This doesn't seem to hold any weight in my situation.

We've only been apart twice in our relationship, that's really the only chance she's had to cheat on me.

since you eat decently now, you can simply do a lot of cardio to get rid of the fat....at your size i suggest a cardio bike first.

I guess in the traditional sense you can classify swinging as cheating, but to us it's a means of satisfying a need for variety. We define "cheating" as something secretive and selfish, without the others' consent.
