hey, /fit/, first time poster...
i seek some advice
im a fairly skinny guy, weighing 140 lbs and being about 5'11".
i cant seem to gain any weight, fat or muscle. ive tried eating and eating but my metabolism just reacts and burns it faster. however when i slow down my intake i do start to lose some weight.
as far as muscle goes, im a shrimp. i have no tone. i did take a semester of strength in highschool and at the end of it went from benching 90 lbs to 135. i made other improvements as well, yet i gained no tone and still looked annorexic. i even used protein shakes.
what does i do?

You probably THINK your eating a lot, but if your not gaining weight, you aren't. I was in the same boat as you, thought I was eating a shitload, but I wasn't. It helps if you keep track. Fitday is a great program to keep track of what you eat. You can download it here:

The stronglifts website has lots of useful articles as well. Lurk around there. Theres advice for buying food on a budget, and what to eat when your trying to gain weight. Its very informative.

i doubt you eat enough, don't compare yourself to people you know- they are losers forever stuck in two places:

fat girls who seesaw from diet, starvation, binging
skinny/fat fags who will always remain this way

the first thing will be for you to have a decent breakfast, then 2 hours after to eat again, then to have a huge lunch.

for me the hardest thing was to basically force myself to eat 6 eggs, a shitload of cheese, milk and bread shortly after i wake up.
its not about "luls i can eat 5 quarterpounders at once"
its about eating consistently, and eating every day like its your last.

now you might be asking yourself- hay guy, why do i have to go to such extremes? all these fit fags i see eat like crap and still look good.

well 1: you dont have the genetics to do that
2: instead of spending your days working out and playing sports, you are indoors on your computer and guitar.


thats fine, but understand you are different, and people who's physique you may admire have a good 10 years on you.

shakes are shit, and should only be used after your diet is in order.

write down what you eat for a week, every single thing. then come back here so we can assess if you have aids, or just a shit diet.

no thats fine, just have breakfast at at 8pm, brunch at 9pm, lunch at 10pm, do your workout at 11pm, dinner at midnight, have a fap around 2, maybe go for a jog at 3, eat again around 5 and probably go to bed soon after.

might want to invest in a tanning bed, and supplement your diet with vitamins A, B12, E, C or you could turn into a vampire.
