So /fit/, I know strong dudes can be smaller than bodybuilders and be able to lift heavier weights, but does this also mean they weigh more for their size than pure bodybuilders, do they have more tightly packed muscles or are they only able to use what they have better?
>> Anonymous
im interested in this too
anybody?
>> Anonymous
im guessing its because body builders work more towards muscle definition than raw power.

strong men just go for the raw power and not really overally definition...anyone can be defined as hell but doesnt mean their strong

Size matters not.

No, they've just trained themselves to lift heavy weights

No, this isn't true, or else there wouldn't be weight classes

Don't you fucking argue with Yoda.

I don't think so, since body builders' muscles aren't hollow. Weight lifters would have to have muscles made of something more dense than those of body builders, and I don't think that is the case.

what the fuck, somebody is arguing with yoda?

I think body builders are more about mass than strength, where as strongmen could give a rats ass about definition and all that shit. Though Mariusz Pudzianowski looks like he could be a bodybuilder.

Oh, a lot of powerlifters are about mass, definitely.

It's really only their training which separates the bodybuilders and powerlifters, strength wise.

People who workout on raw strength use their muscles better.

>During sarcoplasmic hypertrophy, the volume of sarcoplasmic fluid in the muscle cell increases with no accompanying increase in muscular strength.

>During myofibrillar hypertrophy, the myofibrils, comprised of the actin and myosin contractile proteins, increase in number and add to muscular strength as well as a small increase in the size of the muscle.

yeah, its called intra-muscular co-ordination or somesuch. basically its when you gather to yourself a number of magical amulets purchased from jewish wizards for the price of baby-blood. once they are upon you then the pentagram is drawn on the floor and the words are entered into the golems head. this entire process can take a long time so don't expect shit to happen overnight.

Bodybuilders work to cut fat so they can show off every vein and fibre, powerlifters dont give a shit unless it disqualifies them from a weight class

wait HOW is that possible? think about his bone structure. where are his shoulder joints located? imagine a normal human skeleton juxtaposed over that picture. his arms are like 4 inches outward, or the bones have to be

To put it concisely, bodybuilders tend to have more fluid (plasma, etc) in their muscles than powerlifters or oly lifters because they do aerobic and anaerobic movements.
see>>424877

>>424835
At the same bodyfat % the only visible difference between BBers and PLers/strongmen would be the way their muscles are developed. BBers have more muscle belly development, PLers etc have development more distributed throughout the length of muscles and around majorly used joints (elbow, knee, waist)

Obviously, but that was not the question. The question was whether a power lifter weighs more than a body builder of the same volume. That comes down to the density of the muscle, making the question: which is denser, sarcoplasm or myofibrils.

To be fair, OP also threw in some stuff about tightly packed muscles, but that doesn't even make sense.

I wasn't replying to the OP. I was replying to the guy who thought that muscles always develop the same density. Myofibrillar hypertrophied muscles are denser and more solid than sarcoplasmic muscles - more solid material.

to add to this, powerlifters also have increase neuro-muscular adpation allowing them to recruit more muscle fibers
