Hey /fit/,
looking to attempt a new diet plan and looking for input.

ahead of time - tl;dr :
trying to eat more for fitness

I'm going to try the snack tray approach to diet and am looking for input. Tossed some goodies together and filled the tray with oatmeal packets, apples, raisins, bananas, a few oranges, a pouch of beef jerky and a bag of dried apricots. I stuck it right in the middle of the table so i go to it before I get to the fridge.

I think if I just snack on that all day, eating a goodie from the tray every 2 or 3 hours, I won't get be tempted by anything else. I've read that this approach keeps your metabolism firing, since I'll be eating 5-7 times a day. I also heard that the constant input of nutrient dense foods will keep most cravings low. Most of the snacks aren't very big so I'm hoping all day I'll only get 2200-2400 calories out of the 6-odd 'meals'. This is in addition to an egg heavy breakfast on days I lift weights, oatmeal/yogurt & fruit on other days. Lunch is usually some type of smoothie, fruit/protein, with a cup each of cottage cheese and milk.

Does /fit/ have input or previous results for similar plans?

needs protein, other than processed evil dried jerky. try raw nuts/seeds or nut butter.

eat egg heavy breakfast everyday instead. that'll solve half your problems right there.

if you're trying to gain weight why are you fucking around?

don't go egg crazy. it's a simple source of all those nutritional shits, but you get a god damn life threatening allergy to them if you do this for weeks/months. a few a week is O.K.

it's a matter of degrees. i've been eating three whole eggs for breakfast for about a year now.
