Blisters Anonymous
What's the best method of prevention for blisters? I tried googling it but the only answer I found (duct tape) was less than useless. I tend to get them when running around for a couple of hours playing soccer/football.

you would have to wear the footgear and recreate some of the conditions that cause the problem so that your skin can toughen in the problem area with some regularity between the days you play

if you push a pencil all day or are some other kind of desk jockey you can only expect to be a softie who blisters easy

OP here, thanks for the advice. I think I'll try to wear my astros (trainers) more often, and skip the next game so I have time to heal and strengthen the area.

double up your socks

i got XBAWKSHUGE blisters a couple weeks ago, did some reading and the general thing is a good pair of under socks and then your normal ones.
maybe tape on it too

Buy running socks. There are ones called "1000 mile socks" and they have double layers in them, the inner one, clings to your foot, the outer layer moves with your shoe. This stops the friction that causes blisters. I used to have blisters alot, and these socks helped alot. However now my feet have harderned up, and I no longer use them. If you have blisters, "Compeed Blister" plasters are like walking on clouds, and will have you healed (Heeled! PUN) in no time!

the main cause of blisters is rubbing between the shoe and your foot. when i would go hiking, the only time i would get blisters after a few summers of toughening up my feet was when we were caught in the rain and there was no way for our feet not to get soaked. then it actually becomes an issue of keeping your foot wet enough that you dont get any friction.
if that picture is of your actual foot, i dont know if moleskin will help, but its amazing for helping trouble spots. you can also tape up the problem area with medical tape. again, kinda awkward if that is your foot up there.
the double layered sock thing helps a lot too.
