Right now I can't do a real squat without either falling on my ass. What can I do to prepare for them?

Well if you are just starting out you could maybe start without any weights. See how that goes and when you feel ready use either some dumbells or a barbell and gradually add weights onto them as you progress.

At the end you are supposed to be on the heels of your feet right? With none of your body hanging over your toes?

If thats how you do it, I must fucking fail at life because I always end up on the toes of my feet, body hunched over, and if I try to do the "real" one I fall right on my ass.
