Dear /fit/,

I'm sucking in my gut a little all the time. The reason I'm doing it is because when I force myself to relax my gut hurts. It's physically painful to relax my abdomen. It's true any time, day or night, before or after a meal. I'm already on the slim side, have low body fat, and exercise regularly. WTF? Anyone else like this? Any ideas why? I'm betting it's either some kind of very mild reaction or I'm just not eating enough but i'd like a second opinion.

Are you litterally sucking in with your diaphragm or are you clenching your abs?

Your core is weak, your lower back could be a bit too strong in comparison with your abdominals.

You know there's these people who would be able to help you with that, they're called doctors.

Also that pic is fucking nasty.

It's easy to do yourself though. Clench your abs and then suck in your gut. You may not get it to the same extent but you'll get something.

It's painful in my gut, not my back. Does that change anything?

No.

The stronger the muscle is, the more tighter it gets. If your back is to strong your back will be tighter in a resting state.

If your back is too tight, your gut front gets too extended, thus it hurts. Once you forcefully tighten your front muscles you create a balance between the two muscles.

Thats the reason why its stupid to train muscle a but to ignore atagonist muscle b.

could be a hernia or internal problems, i.e. infections, etc.

get it checked out. hernias are easy to fix and most of the alternatives arn't too bad either.
