Today is my first day as a vegetarian. I don't love animals or shit, but I heard that it is healthier.

So anyways, I also plan to make one more healthy change for the month, any ideas? I already have a light exercise routine in the morning:

20x4 sit ups
20x4 pushups and 2 km jog

If you can give me and idea or improve on my diet or exercise much thanks would be given.

As cutomary, here is tits.

ok don't go vegetarian if you want to be healthy
you know why you have sharp teeth? ya those are for riping and tearing meat. we eat meat because it is easy to digest!
meat makes you smarter! your brain uses up a large amount of energy (20% of what you eat goes to the brain) and meat has a higher concentration of calories per ounce than vegies

vegetarians kill the environment they eat all the plants that make oxygen
just go eat some cows they fart methane and eat all the precious grass thus eating them will save the environment

kills 2 birds in one stone you get full and you save some poor little carrots from extinction

Heath-wise, you're likely better off regulating your calorie and fat intake with a well-balanced diet. If you have a weight problem or difficulties with controlling your food intake, a vegetarian or partially vegetarian diet can help a lot on the road to getting in shape. But it's generally because of a reduction in fatty foods more than because a vegetarian diet is inherently healthier.

the thing that you can do for yourself cut your consumption of carbs. i am moving away from eating carbs myself and it's annoying at first but now i don't really want them as much.
carbs are basically grass, something you are not equipped to digest. True, we humans have managed to produce it in large quantities through agriculture but we still have to process them like crazy just to make them edible, and then we get the wrong nutrients. You'd be better off cutting carbs from your diet so that you eat them only to help your body recover (like on the weekend in-between work outs.)

Now if you went vegetarian you would be cutting protein from your diet (except for maybe soybeans, etc.) which is one of the most important and useful types of food. You ever seen the starving kids from developing nations with the swollen bellies? They have Kwashiorkor, which is caused by protein deficiency plus starvation. Protein, particually animal protein, is used to make the amino acids that your body cannot and without them you are in deep shit. Protein can also be used by your body for energy, so at that point you basically need vitamins and minerals from fruits and vegetables and you're set.
You are not some starving African child but cutting meat from your diet does more harm than good. Focus more on eating protein and less carbs.
