At 300lbs you may want to avoid running initially, and bike or swim instead. By bike, I mean bike hard, none of that gliding for long distances. Same thing with swimming, laps, as hard as you can. Probably in water you can touch bottom in, so you won't drown when you gas out. Once you get working on your fitness it gets easier and easier to keep on it. I was once in the same situation, right down to the gamer bit. The gaming part hasn't changed, but I'm now 235lbs and a bit under 20%bodyfat and still decreasing.
