hey runners, help!im kinda tubby and want to run to stop that from happening. however, i was born club footed and had several major surgeries on my ankles as a child. I ran about a mile and a half yesterday and didnt think anything of it. this morning i tried to run and my ankles, calves, and foot arch hurt like a bitch.i've got terrible form, fucked up feet, and a jiggling gut. how can i make running not hurt?
Use a bike, rowing machine, elliptical or get some serious therapy on your ankle. The rest of you only hurt because you haven't exercised in a while most probably
Don't run. Use a bike or get a pool. If you're chubby and have ankle issues. Constantly pounding on your feet with your weight will only bring about agony and an injury. I'd start in a pool and maybe work your up to a bike or maybe an elliptical. But really..pool first!
swim
i'm also pretty muscular and get tired with all that mass bouncing up and down.one more thing, my collarbones usually start hurting when i run. what the fuck is that all about?
Your collarbone hurting is probably a function of poor biomechanics. Because you've sustained an injury you're probably compensating for that injury in your running technique. Your pain is probably a result of your muscles tightening up to help absorb the shock that your foot is going to be experiencing.
