What's the deal with eating at night?

I'm not talking about junk food, more along the lines of protein. I work out at night then have a protein shake right after. Then I go to sleep about 2 hours later. I heard somewhere the eating protein before sleep is no good.

True or False?

eating a large meal so close to sleep time means all the energy from the meal will go to waste and be stored and converted to fat. Best to have dinner at least 4 hours before going to bed. A small snack such as an apple is a good snack.

Best to eat within the first 30 minutes of waking up to get your motabolism going and it will help you loose weight (depending on what you eat..)

there is nothing wrong with eating before going to sleep. its better if its a slow absorbing protein, but theres not really any problem with eating before going to sleep, you burn more calories sleeping then you do sitting on your ass watching TV.

you are eating after you work out. it doesn't count.
