I'm trying to eat right and excersise right, like most of you. The thing is I feel like I need to fully understand nutrition before I trust my judgement on what to eat and what not to. I was wondering of any book/ebook I could check up on to read and learn just about every damn thing I need to about eating correctly and fully understanding how to balance out my diet.

The absolute best you can do is
1. Eat regularly
2. Eat moderate portions (and not to the point of absolute fullness)
3. Eat a large variety of foods

And it couldn't hurt to read the nutritional information on the food when you buy it. Just, you know, eat consciously.

learn about what different GI carbs do, how protein works, what healthy fats are.

you want to get adequate protein, divided up evenly through your multiple meals (4+).

you want to have a good amount of healthy carbs that range from sugars (post workout/breakfast) to fibres, and know when to use them.

you want to get a proper ratio of good fats to promote good hormones, immune system, overall health etc

google calorie count, start knowing generally whats in what foods, and you can mix and match them to make meals with the right macronutrients for your needs.

ie, in the morning, my body needs protein, and lots of carbs to get energized for the day and break catabolism

eggs, banana, 12 grain toast with pb

at night, i need a snack before i go to bed to keep my metabolism high and keep my muscles growing, but carbs would go straight to my fat cells, because im doing nothing but sleeping. this is a great time to get your healthy fats in:

1 cup fat free cottage cheese, handful of nut, fish oil.

once you understand generally what each macronutrient does, and where to find good sources of them, then it's just a matter of mix and matching to "build" your diet
