What would /fit/ recommend for running shoes?I was thinking Air Max 90s so I can dual run and beast at the same time.
New Balance, pick according to your needs.
>>197896NB is shit.Brooks, without a doubt or second thought.http://www.brooksrunning.com/
>>197900Yep. This man speaks the truth. Bought a pair of Brooks, wont go back. They're built immensely well.
All the New Balance shoes I bought are lousy. Same with Nike. They wear out too fast.I am glad I chosen Brooks over NB (due to a hunch but the comments here are a relief) for my compulsory military service later next year.My personal favorite brand is Asics. Gel based cushioning rocks.
I've got a pair of Onitsuka Tigers. Shit is fucking amazing, feels like I'm floating when I run.
>>197919hahhahahahahhahahahhahahahahhahahhahahahahhahahahahahahhahacompulsive military service
Asics gel is the best shoe ever.
>>197956What's so funny about that?Well sure, I mean 2 years of my life is wasted on drills and following orders, but the equipment, lodging is free, you get paid $400 a month, and stay /fit/
>>197972The downside is having to most likely be a Jew.
>>197956Lazy fatty is lazy.
God Tier: BrooksGood Tier: New Balance, Mizuno, AsicsDecent Tier: AdidasShit Tier: Nike, Saucony (LOL BOUGHT OUT BY PAYLESS)>>1978959/10
Asics and Mizunos are my favorites. I've worn Reeboks that were surprisingly nice too. I haven't had much luck with Nike. Never tried Brooks, maybe I'll check em out.
running - i wouldn't knowFor in the gym, the best are either flat soled shoes, or bare feet, especially for squatting.
>>198059My Nike "running" shoes for £60 are fucking horrible, i regret ever buying them. Next time i buy shoes, i'm buying proper ones made for running. Pic related.
>>198076Will i lift more if i used flat shoes?
>>198082Yes. Hard sold shoes like converse all-stars mean better power transfer through your heels and more stability. If you have crap shoes with air pockets in the soles or something good luck. Maybe one day you'll lift serious weight and then the pockets will go *pop*, followed by your balance.
>>198099Explain
>>198099most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.
>>198236>>198109When you lift on cushioned soles, your body sinks into the sole of the shoe before you start to exert force on the bar, therein decreasing your power- it's like bending your arms in the snatch before the triple extension. It's highly doubtful that the air sacks in your Air Max's will explode and you'll fall over- but you're best to lift on solid ground, in Converse or barefoot to maximize your efforts.
