has anyone else noticed a discrepancy between digital and regular scales? when i weigh in at the gym on the triple beam balance or a mechanical bathroom scale it always says i am heavier than when i use some digital health-o-meter scale. Isnt the digital supposed to be specially calibrated to be more accurate?

I've found that almost every scale I've ever used measures me a little different. What I do now is use the same scale every day as soon as I wake up in the morning. It might not have my weight 100% accurate but it should show me my progress very accurately.

This.

There are two scales at the gym I attend and I also have one at home and all three of them show a 3-10 pound difference every time without fail.

the ones at the gym become uncalibrated after awhile, same with the doctor's - that's a prob with the beam scales

You weigh differently throughout the day.

Same. I get up in the morning, take a pee and hop on, it's the most accurate I'd say.

wanna know how to make sure its accurate?

take a weight, say five pound weight, and weigh it

if it says its 8 pounds, then its obviously wrong.

Dial (ones that spin around) are the most accurate, based on my experiences. Digital ones make you crazy, especially since they keep changing every second, and the fucking decimals. You shouldn't care about that shit, it just leads to mindfuck and anorexia.

my digital doesnt, it gives one solid reading within .2 pounds (100.0 100.2,4,6,8...) and gives it over and over and over, doesnt change unless my weight changes.

infact dials are notoriously inaccurate and difficult to read.

Oh yeah? Ok, turn it on, and put one of your fet on it so it gets a different reading. Once there's a different reading, step on it again and you'll see something different.

If you do that on my digital scale it freaks out and gives an E (error code).

Nothing can be on it as it turns on, and once it displays 0 you step on. It measures for a sec and then gives a solid reading until you either step off or it shuts off. If the weight changes to anything below what it is reading it shuts off, or gives an error code. If you add more it simply gives an error code.

retard, electronic scales auto zero, deliberately tricking a scale doesnt make it inaccurate, it makes you retarded

mine does the same, sunbeam here, like maybe 10 15 bucks at walmart? ive tried to trick it like the douche above, only works for like 5 pounds and is super difficult.
