change your workout every couple of weeks. do high intensity interval training (hiit) for a week. do a short time, high speed work out. try different machines (stairs, rowing ergometers, etc.).
but vary it. if weekly changes work for you, do it. but by keeping your body "guessing", it can't become acclimated to one routine.
