to keep muscle while cutting fat:
use whey protein shakes. eat a lot of fat free cottage cheese. don't eat any carbs except for 100% rolled oats and lentils/vegetables/fruit/milk. key is keeping protein intake high with overall calories lower.
keep weight training, but focus on whole body workouts 2x a week
do cardio/HIIT 3-4x a week
don't cut your calories drastically, take it slow or you'll catabolize a lot of muscle in the process. just look at yourself in the mirror everyday and adjust diet every couple of days until you're seeing the progress you want, then just stick to it until you hit a plateau, readjust, etc.
i did that, and while i cut from around 18-19% bodyfat to around 10%, my bench, squat, and deadlift all stayed steady/got a bit stronger...took around 5 months
