Weighted attire. I'm interested.

How useful is this stuff? What advantage does it have over anything?

I'm thinking wearing a shitload of weight for a while will cause me to feel like a MONSTA when i first take it off.

But how can i actually get some genuine use out of it? Good synergy with pullups i imagine but i don't really need extra weight there yet.

You can use it on most bodyweight exercises, even on cardio. More resistance is going to make it tougher, i don't think its *that* useful until you are at the point where you dont feel challenged i.e. you can do X amount of pushups in 2 minutes or X amount of pullups in 2 minutes.

Not sure what the jury thinks about weighted exercise.

So long as it is a well supported vest, and you're doing calisthenics, it would be cool.

But if you're looking to add weight to pull-ups/dips... just use a weight belt or hold a dumbell between your feet.

When I said weighted exercise... I meant weighted with a weigh vest lol.

I can do about 70 normal pushups, ~40 when I put my feet on my couch. Would adding weight do anything but make my wrists hurt?

that many reps is endurance training.
weighted exercises will get your reps down and force you to get stronger.

Depending on the weight of the vest, it will just make it more difficult. They go up to about 110lb from where i seen them i think, so imagine doing that same 70 pushups with an extra 100lb on you, you'd probably be screwed at 20-30. If you don't feel challenged anymore, its a good way to work yourself alot harder.

They're useful if you're thinking about a career in the military, seeing as that's the only sport or physical occupation that I can think of that carries weights on the body around all day. Other than that, regular endurance training and heavy weight lifting should serve you fine.

Well consider how astronauts lose bone density and muscle mass in space, due to lower gravity affecting them hormonally. Conversely, wearing a 25lb vest all day for three weeks should theoretically make your body think it weighs 25lbs more, and hormonally be supportive to denser bones and more muscle mass... riiiiight?

theoretically you would smell like a stuck pig that wallows in raw sewage.

it would also squeeze your spinal bones together and make you shorter lol

It helps for certain exercises. Imagine running with this.

yeah dude, i bet it would. only your joints might get screwed from wearing enough weight to really make a difference. this should be tested though.
