saw a thread about this a week or so ago and it got me reading up on Stronglifts 5x5 which I want to start soonbut I'm confused at one part>5×5. 5 sets of 5 reps with the same weight after you have warmed up properly. 5×5 60kg means 5 reps with 60kg on all 5 sets.so this means I bench, squat, overhead press, and barbell rows with the same weight, 5 reps per set, and 5 sets?and I go up weight every work out?I was under the assumption that I should be increasing my weights with each set
For each exercise use weight appropriate to your strength, but yes, same weight for all 5 sets.
why does stronglifts go by that 5x5 routine?ive never heard of anything like 5x5, or anyone in any sport when I was in high school doing thatit was mostly 3-4 sets with increased weights per set
