I am posting this picture because I am utterly sick and tired of people shoving things up under my nose and telling me to smell them. It's like waving a book in front of a blind man and telling him to read it.

This may sound strange, but I do not have a sense of smell. No, I don't have a cold, and nothing is stuck in my nose.

Since I was a wee lad, I've never been able to smell anything. Dinner time? Nothing. Kids at school trying to gross eachother out? Nothing. Expired milk or meat? Nothing. Skunks? If I couldn't see them, I wouldn't know they were there.

Yes, I can taste. That's usually the first question people ask after we back-and-forth with "Seriously." "No way, really?" for 5 minutes. I like really strong flavors, and more subtle hints of flavor from light spices and such tend to go right over my head, while family members have orgasms over them. So, I think maybe not being able to smell has dulled my taste.

Does anyone know anybody else on Earth with this condition? If so, has anyone ever identified a cause?

I want to know what can cause this and how to fix it-- It bothers me that I may never be able to smell a fart or a beautiful woman's perfume.

Thanks Anon! Reading that, I also discovered that Scott Kurtz of PvP fame suffers the same disorder.
