sup /fit/

My gym's closed for summer, so I'm trying to maintain the little muscle I have at home. There's this fit guy I know who keeps chanting that eating craploads is the most important thing, but then again, I have a belly I'd like to get rid of.

I run some 10mins of HIIT on the track every other day, and a couple of laps around the block on the off-days. I also walk every day.
I do biceps, shoulders and abs at home every other day, and few sets of pushups and pullups every day. I've been trying to get 120-150 g of proteins a day with ~1700 kcal diet, I'm 70 kg 18-year-old male. So anyways, should I eat more to maintain the muscle or is it all about the protein? For the fat loss, I find it hard-ish to have the 5-7 meals a day with 1700kcal to keep the metabolism up and going, so would it be more beneficial to just eat more and compensate with exercise?

tl;dr: How to lose fat, but maintain muscle.
