It works great but it's too bad it has several other effects as well. Headaches and depression are most common, sometimes hair loss.

Headaches and hair loss come from poor choices in dosage. Depression is an arguable side effect. If you're 15-20 and riddled with acne, of course you'll be depressed.

Anyways, greatest (acne wise at least). The dry skin and eczema is a bitch, but it was totally worth it.

You could say that about any drug, hell, food even. It's just synthesized vitamin A, it's not like you're taking bleach pills. If you go to a good dermatologist, they'll prescribe you a safe amount.

you would be right. but my girlfriend has pretty bad acne and she was slated to go on the stuff. She and I both looked it up and noted all the side effects and the do's and dont's while on the drug. We kind of agreed that anything that can do that kind of stuff to your body isnt worth taking for the sake of looking better.

But, then again, we're boith borderline hippy so maybe its not so bad.

I took the drug years ago when I was like 14 (I'm 19 now). Could you tell me about the side effects?

alright, based on the instructions and my own experiences:
headaches (common)
dry skin (almost always)
increased cholesterol (almost always)
mood swings (sometimes)
depression (rarely)
suicide caused by depression (very rarely)
temporary hair loss (rarely)

As for me, I was pretty depressed because of my acne so as it got better I actually got less depressed. I always have a lot of headaches so I don't know if the pills influenced it or not. Dry skin is normal when you take these, also very dry lips. Only heard about a few cases where there was hair loss.

I've had bad acne since I was 14. My dermatologist scared my mother saying that roaccutane causes serious depression and can cause suicide so she decided that I couldn't get it.
Acne continued to get worse, when I was 18 I got myself roaccutane and I didn't feel much about the side effects. The acne completely disappeared. It's been gone for a few years but now I'm 22. This time my regular doctor prescribed me the pills like it's no big deal at all.
Anyway, greatest for sure. People say there is no miracle cure for acne but there is. You just have to convince a dermatologist to give it to you.
