whats with /fit/s obsession with oatmeal. whats so good about it?
its a decent form of carbs and fiber.. plus the majority of your carbs should be consumed in the morning
Cheap, nutritious, fiber, complex carbs, easily available, easily made, fairly delicious, easy to add berries, whey, or other healthy things... the list goes on and on.
its a meal for fatties who think it will magically make them less fat
nothing. you're better off eating a lot of rice.

oatmeal is good for fitness because it is CHEAP, it is SLOW BURNING meaning you don't get a burst of carb energy followed by hunger, and it is HEALTHY because it is just a grain that you make mushy with water. it's one of the most perfect forms of carbs.
i eat my oatmeal with raisins and apples and cinnamon: 3

please note that the prepackaged sugary shit is no better than any breakfast cerealit's 100% rolled oats or steel cut oats that are healthy, for reasons previously stated. 'course it tastes like shit but i grind a cup and mix it with 2 scoops of banana cream whey protein powder and milk...shit's delicious, like banana bread.
Oatmeal is fucking awesome.
