So my hands get super clammy, weights slip a bit. I don't wanna puss out/lose my grip strength, so I was thinking of using chalk. Opinions? Where can I get chalk dust?

YES BUY IT.

A CHALK BRICK IS BETTER

BUY IT ALREADY

FROM A LOCAL SPORT SHOP OR ON THE INTERNET.

Chalk is chalk.

Sauce:

Pool hall, classroom, chalk brick, chalk bowl, etc etc

No, the chemical composition of school chalk is different from the chalk used in rock climbing and stuff.

The thing in OP pic actually happened to me.
Now if I only could come up with a leveling system for schoolwork.

haha, my exact thoughts when i saw that pic, although i've already made the connection to leveling up and getting a 4.0 GPA

Really you should just rock climb- you get to use chalk and have fun :)

In general, any gymnastics or climbing gym should have chalk you could buy. Or possibly someplace that sells climbing gear like REI.

It makes no difference. OP is going to use it to keep his hands dry and classroom chalk does the trick just fine and dandy.

Any teacher's pet will tell ya that. Well, nowadays not so much because of markers. But, back in my time...

i got 2 boxes of chalk from academy sports for about 5 bucks. not sure how long it lasts. awesome pic btw. and props for not resorting to gloves.

buy some straps.

i used be against the whole strap idea because i was like "i'm just dicking my forearms out of a good workout too" so i'd try to cowboy the fuck up and just hold on. this is good and all but i found when doing different types of rows i was able to do more weight and reps with the straps. so lesson learned- i wasn't dicking my forearms out of a workout, i was screwing whatever target muscle group over. so i use straps when my grip starts to weaken. i can do forearms separately later.

chalk is cool too, but my gym just has chalk bins sitting around so i dunno where you can buy it

OP here. Thanks for all the input, I think I'll check out Sport's Authority first since I'm near one and if not, there's an Eastern Mountain Sport like 20 minutes away.

What kind of shitty Gym are you going to?

Try somewhere a little more educated...

OP,
It wasn't hard to find (in Sports Authority), they had it along with all the other weight lifting equipment. Right next to the gloves infact. It was a small box on the floor though.

it's not always easy (or affordable) to get a gym where everyone isn't a brainless douche
