Hey /fit/,

I weigh 200 pounds, and am about 5'8" tall. I'm overweight, most of my fat being in my legs and around my waist. I'm a complete newbie when it comes to losing weight, and have no idea where to start.

Could anyone give poor me some guidance?

I would do sports if I had the time. I spend most of my day with either school or work, school finishing at 5PM and work at 5:30PM. Are there things I can do at home?

Well you're almost 50 pounds lighter than me, so you should at least be going into the right direction..

Keep with it, time flies and eventually you'll look back and cant remember any excess weight being there, believe me I have been in your shoes.

the best workouts are the simple ones.
Pull-ups, push-ups, dumbbells.

The simplest way to lose weight is to reduce calorie intake and increase calorie burning activity. I'd suggest calorie-counting for a while, making sure to keep it low. Then, join a gym. The elliptical machines on cardio will work wonders if you do it on a regular basis. I don't know your age, but perhaps 20 minutes a day three or four times a week would work for you.
