I'm retaining water in my legs right now for several reasons: I'm an alcoholic, I'm overweight, I'm sitting down all day at my job (call centre), and I've ingested a lot of salt in the past three days.

What's the quickest way to alleviate the swelling? I just spent about an hour with my legs elevated and it helped. I walked briskly for about 15 minutes and that helped a bit too. Also, the pitting seems to have reduced and my ankles aren't as swollen.

Are there any foods I should eat, liquids I should drink or physical activity I should engage in to help flush all of this shit out?

I know this is my own damn fault. You don't need to tell me. So if you want to hell me I'm a fucking idiot, don't bother. Just help me fix this as soon as possible.

OK, are you really being serious? That's an intense workout for most people, let alone an overweight alcoholic.

How do squats help the issue other than getting your heart pumping?

Ice. after you finish a workout ice your feet. If the swelling is more widespread take an ice bath..... be sure to wear a pair of shorts.

That's a possibility. But this just started after starting a job where I'm sitting all day. The same thing happened in January this year when I worked at another call centre. I just need to start being being healthy. I hit bottom tonight. Things are going to be different from now on.
