Cardio workout input Anonymous
I posted this question yesterday, but I missed the replies.

37 male, 6' 1", 242ish pounds.

2 weeks ago I realized I was too fucking fat, I got off my fat sedentary ass and started doing cardio each morning. I deal well with elliptical, so I started myself on 30 minutes of that. I have gotten myself up to 60 minutes each morning. I maintain a 130-140 bps heart rate during the whole workout. I sweat buckets. My legs are nearly to failure when I get off the machine.

I wanted to run this past you. I know it's better than what I was doing before. I eat less and better and move more. Now I want to make sure that I am making the best use of that hour. I intend on implementing Stronglifts 5x5 in the future, but for now I want to stick with cardio only for the time being. I wanted to do some HIIT, as so many prescribe here, but it killed me and I seriously feared a heart attack.

I don't count calories, but have gone to better, less processed foods and smaller portion sizes. I drink between 1/2 and 1 gallon water a day.

So, amidoinitrite? Or is there any negative to pulling 60 minutes of cardio each morning? Anything you can suggest to make it more effective?

No-one on this site is doing HIIT, they might think they are, but they aren't. Theyre doing IT, and you, shouldnt even think about HIIT, HIIT is for marathonners/atlethes that can run a steady pace for 3+hours, looking to step their game up. Having said that, good job first of all, and you should be fine really, you might wanna try doing it at different times on a day, or your body will get used to it and burn less calories, i'd suggest starting to run when you reach 200 pounds, its one of the most simple and best cardio exersizes out there, AND, for me, after doing it once, it wasnt scary anymore ( going outside, city) and actually helped boosting my self-esteem.

Thanks for the encouragement, I appreciate it. I'll try your suggestion to move the time of day around.

And yes, at 200 I would like to get back to long distance running. I used to do it in high school. At my weight, running is embarrassing..

Thanks again.
