Ok, so I started bike riding a few days ago, and it's tons of fun, but I wonder how good the cardio is. I'm 5'8-9 and about 150 pounds. I ride 7-10 miles every day or other day, and I feel a nice workout on my arms and legs, but my heartrate doesn't seem to increase nearly as much as jogging. However, I really dislike jogging. It's not fun for me, and hard on the joints. You guys think the 7-10 miles riding a bike (one break halfway through) is enough, or is jogging vastly superior and I should just start that?Pic unrelated mostly
It depends on your pace and the terrain you ride in, but generally it is good cardio. Not as good as jogging, but it will get the job done.
Any way to make it more effective? I can try and find more inclines and such, but would it be more efficient to just suck it up and jog?
