Bad form.
>then i hear that golds is banning the deadlift.
Bad form, let the morons injure themselves.
>well i did 2 sets of 10 at 95 lb yesterday and i definitely feel it.
Most likely bad form.
Google "proper deadlift form" and educate yourself.

Oh, and they're definitely worth doing if you perform them correctly.

Good compound exercise, almost as good as squats, I've never been injured doing them.

Its completely safe, just make sure you know the biomechanics perfectly. Don't go to Gold's gym, they screw you every which way but Sunday.

Don't skip, building up your deadlift and strengthening your back will actually help you prevent injuries during other lifts. No more people get injured from this lift than others, but I bet it seems that way because it's the biggest lift most people can do, so injuries just become apparent sooner.

Its like anything workout related, do it wrong or do more than you should (and i mean way more than you limit not like the extra one your suppose to take)and you'll hurt yourself. Deadlifts are very useful, though I saw a video of a guys leg breaking doing a deadlift. He was going for a world record though so it was his own fault.

anything involving heavy weights can be dangerous.

I would consider the deadlift the least technical challenging lift of all.
It's just an everyday lift.
Could as well break your spleen lifting a box of bottles out of your car.
Anyway, proper form.

Deadlifts aren't funny. My brother died this way.
