hey /fit/,
i wanna cut some fat and the general consensus of this site is HIIT that shit. i'm by no stretch of the imagination fat but after bulking for a while i've been left with a thin layer of fat around the midsection that wasn't there a year ago. long distance running fucking kills me so i thought that HIIT seemed like a good idea, but i don't have a hot clue what a normal workout or session would be comprised of, and how many times a week? any help would be awesome.

Now, more to the point... try to do it twice a week, and google tabata intervals, that will give details on the session layout.

Fucked if I know, I do HIIT by running, its not cycle exclusive, which leaves a bit of room for what you would prefer, basically anything cardio that can vary in intensity is what your after, so yeah.. a bit of room for leniency there, do what ever fits you best.

Perhaps, its best not to push yourself to do all 8 cycles, try to do 5, then next week aim for 8, or something to the effect, to go from nothing to HIIT may be harmful.

You might. If your young enough push yourself until you do. Otherwise you might do damage.

OP again, so just to recap, hop on the bike, quick warm-up, 20 seconds of balls out, 10 seconds of rest, and repeat 5-8 times? 2 twice a week? everyones bodies react differently but how soon can one expect results? and i also read that it's best if it's done at the beginning of a workout, or should i make a special day for it alone?

When you say 10 seconds of rest do you mean returning to moderate intensity or low? Sounds like HIIT truly fucks you up if you are alternating from moderate to balls out for 15 mins.
