How much of your bodyweight are you actually lifting when you do a regular push-up, /fit/?

Also, what do you think are some of the best variations on the regular push-up?

My favorite is "guillotine" pushups. You need three chairs. Put your toes on the surface of one chair, and your hands on the surface of the others. You do a pushup but drop between the chairs.

well theres...
hindu push ups
diamond push ups
push ups on fist
push ups with hands by waists
body angled push ups
usual shoulder width or extended
push ups with feet up on a chair or hands on two chairs and go in between

Cool, I haven't tried them before. I guess like a lot of people the only variations I do is wide and close. Might give the guillotine version a go later on.

Thanks for that, I was always wondering how much I'm actually lifting. Would you know which push-ups lift the most bodyweight?

To put more body weight on your hands.. elevate your feet.
like on a chair that will push more weight on your hands and less on your feet.
continue to change the elevation of your feet till there above your head.
100% :D
