sup /fit/ I need some advice...

I have been competing in competitive sprinting for quite some time now and here is why I come to you.

I have recently starting running in longer distance races such as the mile all the way to the 5000m. Would my training for these events effect my muscles in any way so that when I begin sprinting again I'll be slower? If so what could I do at home to begin rebuilding the muscle I lost from long distance work outs so that I can become competitive in sprinting again?

Also what types of foods should I be eating? Right now my diet is really unstable and could go from eating healthy peanut butter sandwiches and bananas to eating unhealthy fast foods like McDonalds...

tl;dr: I need good work outs that I can do at home so that I can become competitive in sprinting before the season starts...

Yes. Google fast/slow twitch muscle fibers.

Nobody's replying because nobody knows enough to help you. If you'r a competitive sprinter, you've probably got a coach or trainer, and if you don't, you probably ought to. Talk to somebody who really knows what they're talking about, not /fit/.
