Bicep curls, /fit/.

When I stand straight up and do them, I get the feeling I'm bracing my arms on my lats and using my shoulders to kip, even though I face a mirror and focus on keeping my shoulders down and my elbows stationary.

My question is...if I bend over a bit, bend my knees, and keep my back straight and do curls that way, would it isolate the biceps better or is that just asking for injury?

Do you feel the burn in your biceps?

Yes? Then that's all you need.

If not, doing it wrong.

A true cheat curl is driven mainly by the hips. Study the nearest gym rat. This cheating begins in the slightly bent over position, the arms slightly bent and the curl bar possibly even resting on the thighs; then the hips are thrust forward while the spine is wrenched backward, imparting momentum in the hardest part of the curl when the arm is fully extended and the biceps fully stretched.

In other words, your proposition sounds even closer to a cheat rep. If the change in center of gravity as the bar swings out from the line of the body is causing you to lean back a little, no big deal so long as your hips do not bend. However, you may try putting one foot slightly forward to aid that change in center of gravity.
