I need help /fit/. I'm 19 and started my very first job yesterday. It was very simple work, but long. 11 hours, and I was standing in one spot most of the time. It was also my older brother's first job, who was there with me yesterday. He went back today, but I quit. Why? Well here's the problem.

Half-way through the day my back was aching, badly, and by 7-8 hours in I really thought my back was going to break. It still hurts today, 11 hours of sleep and 2 advils later. My brother isn't in this much pain, and neither was this other 19 year old who I met there. So here's my problem /fit/.

How can I strengthen my back, because it is obviously much weaker than a regular person's back? Also, if it is any help, the pain was in my middle-upper back and somewhat in my neck and shoulders.

OP: Squat more. Learn how to deadlift, front squat and back squat properly. Start small and work your way up. Squatting is the best total-body workout you can find though, strengthens entire core tremendously.

Man, you're out of shape. That's normal when you have no core strength to speak of and you're used to spending all your sitting on your ass. I had that problem when I was 19, working an eight hour shift that required me to be on my feet all day, and I'm a chick. I stuck it out, it went away within a week.

tl;dr You're a fucking pussy.
