Heeeey fit...
So I have a friend who, and I quote, is morbidly obese. He'll at least acknowledge it himself, and pending work out clothes and shoes, he's stated he'll give getting into shape a shot.

However, I'm a skinny guy. 6'1 and started off a buck-35 wet. Finally got up to 150lbs after a few months of a slightly modified routine from this book;

ooks&qid=1226563166&sr=8-1 (The writing is terrible, but the basic routine is what I was advised by from another friend who's fairly fit; hour a day, doing sets that jump between parallel muscle groups, w/ running startup). He, however, isn't a skinny guy and probably wouldn't start w/ that sort of workout.

>tl;dr
So, my question, is what sort of routine would be good for a 26yo 300+lbs guy that sucks at running?

Just cut him down to 2500< calories. That alone will start to do some work. No more soda, candy, sugar, shit NONE OF IT! Then get him to do at least 15 minutes of just exercise. Doesn't matter if it's him jumping in place as long as the bastard is sweating. As the pounds go down start going lower and lower into calories and more and more into exercise.

Diet. He needs to clean up his diet big time. He needs to l2nutrition. http://johnberardi.com/articles/nutrition/index.htm

I'd have him sit onto a box and stand up again, repeatedly. I'd have him walk everywhere. He has to build up a base of physical preparedness. So any sort of movement is good. Highlight movements like sledgehamer swings, weight sled/car push, shoveling, etc etc.

The only weight exercise he should be doing is deadlifts. Maybe some form of pressing. There's no point in doing squats if he can't squat his own fat self for 50+ reps.

make him jog hard and start to eat lots of protein and fiber to start and then after two months of just jogging get him lifting weights.....make him sit on an excercise bike while he plays world of warcraft.....hahah

hah, surprisingly he's not a gamer. although there are plenty of stairs in the city, so i'll probably start poking him to take those more often (usually either to the 6th or 4th floor)
