Do you guys keep logs or journals regarding your routine? Do you just use a spiral bound notebook or a textfile on your computer or something more advanced? What do you record, sets/reps and what you eat?
I record how much weight I used for what exercise.
Why do you guys do this? What are the benefits?
>>235628No benefits, unless you are a retard who can't remember what they did yesterday.
No, that's seems a bit ridiculous. I have a dry erase board to keep track of the workouts I'm currently doing. And if I'm particularly worried about food, I keep a sheet of paper in my pocket. The rest you should be able to remember from day to day.
I keep track of my 5x5 in Microsoft Excel.
>>235628It keeps you from cheating and gives you an overview of your progress.
FitDay PC
I used to, then I figured it was because I couldn't keep track of all the excercises I was doing, and was therefore doing to many.
I walk into the gym, look around the room, think "right, I use that machine and noone is on it".Rinse, repeat. When my arms are too stuffed I do some cardio. Very technical.
spreadsheet on my computer
I don't. I just do it. But then again, I'm not HAAARRDKOORE like other people.
I did it for the first month, but i eventually became settled in regularly eating the same foods and didn't see the need to write down everything i did.
I carry a pen and piece of paper with me and record the amound I lift after every set.
No.
I use a clipboard and print out of my routine that i fill in. I only do this for new routines that constantly change and when i'm adjusting what weight to use. I probably should when I'm on a more standard routine, to keep track of progression, but so far i havent
I use a text file to track my progression with weights (easier than excel imo), and I use fitday to track my food/everything else.http://rapidshare.com/files/124820477/FitDay__Progam___Serial_.rar
