okay /fit/ I know this is hard to believe, but I have no where to do pullups at my house. I've done the towel trick, but I also want to be able to spread my arms out during pullups to work width. Any tips on places to do these?
go buy a $20 pullup bar that installs into doorways?beyond that obviously public parks are good, local middle schools usually have pullup bars for fitness testing, Take a piece of scrap metal (rebar or something) and place it over a corner and use that. any structure with rafters works well. any building with a patio can be used with a little jumping.
>>327292Do they sell pullup bars at Wal-Mart?
A tree branch?
i kind of prefer not to use a tree branch because all the trees around are kind of flexible, probably wouldn't offer good weight balance for both arms
you can do pull ups on garage door rails apparently. ive never tried it though
>>327295Google chin up bar. ... lots of places selling $20 shipped.
Not OP, but in the same boat. has anyone had any experience with this kind of bar? I'm worried it would seriously fuck my door frame.
>>327646Well yeah, you gotta screw it in, and it doesn't look so obtrusive as you might think. It probably will leave some holes in your doorframe, but in that case, just don't remove it.
Just out of curiousity, what is the towel trick?
just grab onto your door, and pull yourself upgood fucking game
>>328467Bump. Tried google found no info on this.
Creative Door Gym = no shit you have to do to the doorway
>>328467Wrap a towel around a tree branch or something and do pullups on it.Also, you can purchase or make a door mounted chin up bar that requires no installation and can be removed whenever you wish. With a little padding, it deals no damage to your frame, either.
>>327646Towl trick is throwing a towl over your doorand doing pullups by grabbing both ends.>>327302They are really narrow and hurt my hands but it does work.>>328467There are pullup bars that extend by twisting and hold themselves into the door frame by friction alone. I bought one for my dorm and it worked great all year and even held my 220lbs neighbor for 4 reps.
I did the towel thing and then just decided to stop being a fag and bought a bar for 30 bucks.
>>328730or you could have just jumped onto your door and pulled up there
