hello fit

is it really necessary to bulk/cut? Can't I just eat just a bit more than I consume and grow slowly but never gain bodyfat%? I don't want flab and I definitely don't want any unnecessary cutting (lifting sucks if you don't eat enough)

Right now I'm just going crazy with food since I'm 6'4'' and 175lbs (low bodyfat too) but I'm thinking about shifting to healthier habits in a month or so.

Also known as bulking

Bulking then cutting is awesome. I recommend doing it for kicks alone.

yeah but I'm talking about the bulking and cutting thing here.

It seems that everyone nowadays seems to have a bulk and cut phase. where they first just pig out and then cut the fat. I don't see why anyone should do that... Especially since I primarily want strength.

because if you don't consume enough, you won't progress as fast as possible

it's safer to overeat a bit than undereat

maybe if you really want you can try an on-off ketogenic diet. I did for a month and a half to prepare for the summer and it worked out pretty well, but it is very, very hard since it is so strict.

Basically eat close to 0 carbs during the weekdays and then eat a shit load of carbs on the weekends so your bodys like...wtf...and you'll cut fat fast. I lost like 25lbs in 5-6 weeks and i know it was mostly fat because i was still making lifting gains.

good luck bro

not to mention you seem to have a preconceived notion that 'bulking' is synonymous with eating like a fucking fat slob. You can bulk with cans of tuna, whole grains, OATZ, whey, milk, eggs, etc. You don't have to eat quarter pounders and fries to pull it off.

Well that's what I've been doing...

So as long as I don't expect my bodyfat to be single digits while making gains I'll be fine?

you're doing fine, just keep packing it in.
