Hitting 3000+ calories a day Anonymous
Hey /fit/

Probably going to get my ass kicked for asking a spammed Q or something...

But how the hell do you hit 3000 calories a day when you're working and shit? I go to the supermarket and try and find the highest calorie stuff I can but unless you want 25% saturated fat there is nothing over about 250kcal per 100g and most of it isn't even that.

Also, I weigh 140lb, eating 1.2kg of food aint easy. Is the short answer suck it up and eat through the waves of nausea?

Also, suggestions for high calorie food that wont kill me please...pic diametrically opposed.

For breakfast, I had a banana, and two poptarts, which was about ~500 calories.

3 hours later, I had a pizza hut personal pan pizza, breadsticks, and fruit juice, which totaled somewhere around 1300 calories.

A few hours later, I bought a box of Better Cheddars and half about half of it, giving me another 700 calories.

And after I finish my workout, I'm going to have about ~500 calories in milk + whey protein.

Then a couple hours before bed, I'll probably have a tuna and cheese sandwich on wheat.

So yea, theres my near 3k for today. Its not that hard, :D

Peanut butter. Calorie dense and fun to eat. Often I eat it by the spoonful, or I mix it with vanilla protein powder and an egg, and it tastes like a treat. Either way, the calories add up fast.

Actually, I'm dead serious. I don't normally eat such unhealthy food everyday, but it is my splurge dayyyy. Normally though, I do eat around 2500 calories, just to maintain my weight. It just happens to be more healthy food.

I find myself in similar situation OP. I want to hit 5000, but man, its hard to eat clean. Im up to 6 meals a day, lots of oats, nuts, whey protein, lean meats, fruits and veggies, blah blah blah. But still doesnt seem enough.
Im spending a small fortune in food too, but hey, its an investment on myself.

My point is OP, just EAT. You will get used to it, and the more you work out, the hungrier you will get. A nice benefit of working out is that you can eat A LOT, which happens to be one of my hobbies.

tl;dr: eat more lentils, oats, eggs, beans, corn, pasta, etc.

3000 calories is easy, you need to plan your meals.

milk, pb, pasta, olive oil, etc etc. double up on on scoops of whey and shit, try not to eat perfectly clean, but still healthy.

its at about the 5000 calorie mark where i start seriously struggling, thats where my stomach reaches its limit.

ALSO, the harder and heavier you train in the gym, the hungrier you get, the more you eat the faster you recovery and the more energy you have, to train harder and heavier in the gym lol. its a vicious cycle of awesomeness

i want to add that this is the way you get lean and strong, by consuming more calories and burning them through heavy training, i have found actually that the less i eat, the more flab i put on and the weaker i feel.

i feel leanest and strongest when im eating truckloads and training like an animal
