They twitching is your nerves finding new pathways to transmit and them firing off at random. The muscles will repair over the next few days and become stronger than before. Unfortunately, you will probably feel bruised tomorrow. You will also get this feeling the first time you go to the gym, start a new exercise, or go beyond your normal limits.
