Yo /fit/

For those who've taken the beep test (the one that goes up to 24 levels or something, not the 500 level one)

How much can I expect to improve on the beep test in half a year? Right now I'm around level 9.0. What would be the fastest way of improving my VO2 max? I was thinking long cardio sessions for endurance, since HIIT is only for increasing metabolism/fat burning.

Also, post your beep test scores.

And...sprinting speed? I'm just not sure it would be as effective as long cardio sessions for increasing endurance.

Post your ages too, mis/fit/s, just out of curiousity. I know this one 16 year old kid who hit level 15. I'm 20 :(

it's called a pacer test or multi stage fitness test.

we called it the pacer at my elementary, middle, and high schools.

we'd always keep track by the total number of shuttles (a run from one side to the other) not by what "level" you got to. but on wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multi-stage_fitness_test

they have a chart that shows how "levels" correlate to shuttles.

My best was 150 because at that point we'd already gotten past the presidential level (lol national health test labels) for the pacer and the gym teacher was like "ok im bored", so that would put me at level 15, but there were still like 4 guys going at that point and we could have just kept on running.

here.

looking at the post>>355139

it looks sort of like our school must have had it on easy mode, cause I highly doubt that we'd be able to get the same scores that top athletes are getting.
