/fit/, I'm 6' 286, in horrible health, have chronic fatigue syndrome, and about a week ago I decided to change. My diet has been excellent since the 2nd, but yesterday I walked at 3 mph for 10 minutes on the treadmill and I was about to pass out. I just got off the treadmill an hour ago and I walked 100 minutes til the treadmill cut off at 2.5 mph for 4.15 miles. How the hell is that possible?
I don't think an extra .5 mph would make me need to lay down after 10 minutes... Was it just my desire and diet? I haven't ever walked 4 miles at once. It wasn't that fast, but I don't really care. 1.5 years ago I couldn't sit 90 minutes in a classroom due to CFS.

If I can keep this up and be healthy should I start seeing some results soon? I'm just looking to lose weight, I'll do weights later on. I won't let myself do less unless I'm just having a bad day...I've always done whatever I set my mind to. Now I have a plan laid out so I think I'll be just fine.

you'll want to do weight training at the same time as losing weight. lifting weights will prevent losing lean (muscle mass) which helps burn more calories to aid in weight loss.

not to mention you can probably lose 3-4 pounds a week at that weight, but someone with the best genetics and flawless exercise and diet plans will only ever be able to gain about 2 pounds of muscle in a month. so keeping the muscle you have will really do you well in the long run
