Attach some weights to your person so you can only manage about five-six in a set. 5x5 will increase strength, though if you want size, lessen the weights and do more like 3 set of 8-12.

Keep doing them. Even if you can't pull yourself up that thirteenth time, trying will still stress the muscle, and still help develop strength.

Also, you can try to use a cord and pulley system to lift 3/4 of your body weight several more times to promote endurance.

This too. Do 8 of them with a load that you can only do 8 of. Start your week with this one, then the following day do endurance, then do your normal set the third day. Repeat again and then rest a day.

Got a big box or something you can stand on under the bar? Then do let-downs. Begin at the finish position, with your chin over the bar, and lower yourself as slowly as you can.

make sure you use good form. most people use their arms and shoulders. you're meant to use your lats, so focus your mind on the lats while doing the chin ups. also don't swing or jerk. just go up and down slowly.

I bench 110. I'm 174 pounds.
But I can do 20 chinups easy; six months ago, I could barely do one. Just keep doing them. I kept doing them. It works.

do negatives. start from the "up" position and lower yourself as slow as you possibly can (like 1 rep over a minute) really depends on the person how many they can do but your muscles will be screaming after not too long. this is what helped me when i was too fat to do pull ups

uh, work out your back and not just your arms and pecs?

get someone to help hold you, reduce your bodyweight dragging your arms a small amount. the big problem is your weight unadjustable otherwise. whatev, in b4 stupidity.

Try this, and I guaran-fucking-tee it'll work. Try to incorporate dead lifting into your workouts and try to power your way up to at least dead lifting 1.5-2x your bodyweight. I guarantee you'll start beefing out those pullups and chinups. Dead lifts are excellent in building back strength, not to mention essential for any training regiment anyways.

Chin-ups are predominantly back driven, but your arms supply a good chunk of the strength needed for it too. That's why Chin/pull ups are one of the master compound movements. Anyone who wants to increase arm strength significantly after doing only curls and shit should incorporate the endless varieties of chin-up and pull-up exercises available and you'll be improving in no time.
