I posted a few days ago but couldn't see all the answers. Didn't post any pictures, but I thought this round I should try.

Been trying to loose weight, currently 6'2 around 195 lbs. Been doing treadmill like 45 minutes a session, usually every other day. Been trying to squeeze in a 20 minute treadmill session on the off days. Used to be really fat, currently 19 years old, have lost a pant size since middle school (from 38 to 36, might be technically a 35 in some pant cuts idk for sure). I've progressed from not being able to do a real push-up,building up knee push-ups and can now do about 30 regular push-ups in a row.

Question is I really want to slim out more, I still think I'm unattractively huge and I can't seem to break out of thinking that way. I guess hitting hand weights and other weight machines would really help out with that?

Stronglifts 5x5

google it, follow it, profit

Sounds good from searching but I'd like some other options too. I know there's no such thing as spot reduction, but what do people think I should work the most?

work the most? Your entire body. You hit those weights hard and you'll be sweating like a pig; not sure how many calories you'll burn per hour, but you'll definitely gain some nice muscle quickly by following stronglifts.

45 minutes?
Fucking pussy. That's beginner's shit. You should be going at least for twice that if you're not full of shit.

>That's beginner's shit
and he is a begginer you knobjockey

45 minutes of cardio per day is perfectly acceptable, so if you want to continue cardio, just bump up those 20 minute off days to 45 minutes as well.

That's what I had planned to do eventually, but time has me pressed a lot between class, homework, and work.

I try to work out between my classes on a few certain days where I have a nice chunk of time lately work stuff I have to do blocks it out. What's the consensus on working out at night? That's when I have the most free time if I'm not doing school work.

It's kinda frustrating, cause I don't have much confidence when it comes to how I currently look, I think I look horrible, like rubbish for sure.

Dude, your 6'2 and 195 Pounds and you think your bad. Im the same age, 5'7 and 185 and fuck I look waay fatter man but do i have a shitload of confidence. Not an obnoxious type but the type I can go to the beach with my friends comfortably, and also w/ some ppl I dont know. Dude just concentrate and build up your confidence. Just because you would have a slim body won't mean you will act any diffrerent. Just keep on pushing yourself and switch cardio with HIIT and do stronglifts

So its gonna be Stronglifts Monday HIIT Tuesday Strong Lifts Wens HIIT Thurs Etc to boost cutting phase. And wow am i fcking going on a rant cause i just had a fight with a gf. Fuck JUST HAVE MOTHER FUCKING CONFIDENCE CAUSE IF I CAN HAVE A GF WHILE WEIGHING THIS MUCH AT THIS HEIGHT SO CAN YOU. jesus fuck.

OP your body fat % isn't that high(looks around 16-18%). You should stop being a pussy and lift some fucking weight. I can't believe you actually want to slim out more. Your weak as hell, no muscle definition, and you want to make yourself look even scrawnier. Go do some research and I wouldn't start out with a 5x5 program. Start slow let yourself get used to the movements and the actually act of building some muscle for 2-3 months. If you can actually stick to a program that long, then try out a 5x5. You'll see better results that way.

OP looks more like 25% to me.

OP here, whoever posted "wat" isn't me.

I always figured my body fat % was really high..my family is generally very skinny and not very strong and I was really really skinny when I was younger and never strong either. I just happened to have the misfortune of finding food as a comfort for depression back in middleschool/highschool.

So if going by what you said, doing basic exercises with free weights and barbells etc would be the best way to go?

I was originally more focused on "thin" rather than muscles, but I guess that way would be healthier...

25%? That's considered obese....I don't think I'm anywhere near obese...I'm just ugly aside from my face.

well sorry to break it to you but around 25% sounds pretty solid. You said that you focused on getting 'thin' and not getting muscular, which only leads me to assume that you basically tried starving yourself (probably the worst thing you can do) - thus crippling your metabolism, deacreasing your muscle mass while increasing fat storage. I know someone thats 6'3 and really skinny and having a low fat %...he weighs around 145-150. 195-45 = 50lbs of fat, which is around 25%.

of course, im pulling this out of my ass so take with a pinch of salt

I've never tried starving myself, ever. I like food.

I just like the skinny look, since that's what I originally wanted so I focused on cardio. But now I'm thinking putting on some muscle might not be a bad thing.

Changing your diet will help you shape up your body just as much as exercise will. Start eating 6-8 small-medium size meals a day. Eat clean foods like boneless/skinless fish/chicken, whole grain bagels, salad, oatmeal, walnuts, fruits, low-fat cottage cheese, eggs, etc. Cook with olive oil and never eat fast food, ever.

I love fruits and veggies so that's no problem there!

What would constitute a small meal? Like a whole grain bagel (both sides of only one side? Toppings?) and a piece of fruit?

What about whole grain bread and something like natural no sugar peanut butter?

I'm willing to change my diet for sure, I hate snack food.

EAT PROTEIN WITH EVERY MEAL

So either some meat or alternative source such as soy, etc? With each one.

I'm your height, weight 140lbs, can bench and lift more than the average guy, and still have 8% body fat. From the looks of things you've gotta be carrying around at least 50lbs of fat, unless you have massive guns hidden under that pasty exterior. I'd guess that whoever said 25% is on the right track, but I think even that's a conservative estimate.
