Read up before you go to the gym, if you have a friend ask to go with him to show you the ropes. Nothing pisses me off more than seeing 100% clueless people curling 10 pound weights 500 times.
And more importantly, eat CLEAN food and do a lot of cardio. Get a camera or a weight scale so you don't pussy out a couple weeks in and you keep your motivation.
