Hey /fit/ Anonymous
I'm 5'11", male and about 280 lbs. How much cardio should I be doing a day to lose fat?

I currently do about 30-40 mins of walking on the treadmill (at about 2-2.5 mph) in the mornings. I've found I can do 3 mph for 40 mins, but can't the next day due to the knees.

Just keep going until you can't physically carry on anymore, and eat lettuce.

At that weight diet is far far more important.

Just do whatever cardio you can do comfortably. Good habits are nice to start forming but saving your knees is a priority too.

Right now a proper diet and weights would be a lot better. Your weight is going to put nasty strain on your knees.

Weights help you lose weight faster.

What exercises should I be doing with weights? I have dumbells and a barbell. (and should I spend all my time with weights rather than cardio or mix?)

I walk 5mph for 30 minutes to get a cheeseburger, then walk the same back...

Gotta love getting fitter.

forgive my /fit/ retardation, but what does this mean:

"Workouts A and B alternate on 3 non-consecutive days per week."

so is that doing workout A twice and B once in the first week and then workout B twice and A the next?

I read it as week one is A, B, A, and week two is B, A, B, then you repeat.

Thanks, that's kinda what I was thinking.

is this true? the first 20-30 minutes of cardio, its only burning the carbs, after that, then its start to burn the fat?
