I have bad shinsplints on my high jumping leg. Other than ice, what should I do?

Eat a lot of protein and calcium?

Nothing. Do nothing. Stop excercising and putting weight on the leg, even body weight isn't advisable. Shinsplints are essentially microfractures in your bones and will require lots of time for them to heal. No idea if the protein or calcium will help, but certainly won't hurt. Depending on the degree of them, 2-6 months or even more. Shit sux.
