just remember that when you swim, it's not about stroke frequency, it's about stroke efficiency. If it takes you 20+ strokes to do one lap (25m in most pools), you're doing it wrong. When you stroke, extend your arm OUT, hold it in front of you, and then bring it down, and repeat. Also, you go faster when you look straight down and just raise your eyes, not your head. Rocking in the water from side to side helps as well, because you get less drag resistance that way
