Hey /fit/.

I'm just getting back to working out...but I only have the mornings to do it. I get up at 5 and usually get to the gym by 5:30.

The past couple of weeks I've been doing a routine like this:
Mon - Bi/Tri/Ab/Cardio
Tues-Legs/Cardio
Wed-Shoulder/Abs/Cardio
Thur-Back/Cardio
Fri-Chest/Abs/Cardio

Is this a decent breakup of body segments?

Also...with the goal of losing weight in mind while retaining if not gaining strength, is it ok to do strength training BEFORE breakfast? I usually come home and chow down on some oatz and a protein shake post-workout.

I heard about waking up and running for fat loss,

but I am not so sure about hitting the weights when you just wake up.

If you can pull it off go ahead, but you won't be able to push your 100% with an empty stomach. You can try eating a solid meal before going to the gym, but you will have to give time for your body to digest.

Enjoy your catabolism if you don't eat anything and then workout. Best advice is eat something small like a powerbar that you can easily burn through to get to fat storages. But do NOT workout without eating anything.

I get up before shower, dress and eat some life cereal with skim milk with an apple all before 7:30. walk just under a mile to my college gym to work out, shower and return home to my premade egg sandwich with skim milk. two meals and a workout before everyone gets out of bed in my college. Don't know about you but this patten helped me.

See...I was wondering if I was going to end up hurting myself more than help.

It just feels wierd to eat before go to the gym with the intent of losing weight.

So if I eat before I toss on clothes...is that like 20 minutes enough time for that pre-workout meal to do any good?

>can easily burn through to get to fat storages
how's that work? I would have thought that food gets in the way of accessing body-fat storages. as in, foods are digested first before bodyfat.
