Hey /fit/

Since i've been working out I was thinking about getting into lifting like Olympic lifting how would one go about getting into this sort of sport where would one start?

I've heard that you need to have a weird body type like short legs and a big chest what has /fit/ heard about this

I'm really keen on having the Olympics as a goal.

How old are you?

Try and find a power-lifting team in your area and see how good the others are, and, what are your lift maxes right now?

Most really heavy lifters (strongest man, etc) are short, stout, and pretty much genetic freaks.

Don't be an Olympic athlete, shit sucks if you don't win. You train all year, you don't get paid, etc.

I'm 17 at the moment so I think I have a good chance of still getting into something like this.

All my maxes are pretty toss I've only been training for a few months now

I'm 5'11 almost 6 foot, I got short legs and a big upper body but i'm not a genetic freak :S

And I thought being a olympian is like a day job?
