First time /fit/ here. A couple questions.

I am 6' and 150lbs. I am trying to work off a little chub around the belt line (had a horrible diet for a while and was on WoWcrack). I've been running about 4-5 days a week to lose the fat along with eating healthier and less calories, but I heard that running is detrimental to all muscle tissue. I'm kinda skinny and I don't want to lose mass, so I weight train. To balance it out I've been drinking protein shakes (30 grams) after every workout. Is the protein going to affect my belt line loss at all? And for my calorie intake, I try to keep it around 1500 a day, but I am never quite sure where I am by the end. Things like fruit don't come with labels. Any quick daily diet tips? I can eat the same thing every day for months if I have to.

pic is basically my goal by around Christmas

You're going to look nothing like your picture at 6'0 150. You'll need another 10-15 pounds of muscle at least first.

Bulk first and lift. I'm 6' and 230 and I have a "little chub" to work off around the midsection. Get muscle and bulk first, then lose.

Why is this? I'm curious because I'm 230 and 6'3 so.

Well, the chub is the thing I am really self conscious about. Only thing that really is standing in my way of feeling great. I just want to know if it is possible to lose it efficiently and still put on or stay the same size in regards to muscle mass.

Muscle weighs more than fat.

Generally, if you want to lose weight while maintaining muscle mass, it's incredibly slow and you won't see results until months and months pass. You can lose weight and you won't get killed on muscle mass, but you'll still lose some, but you don't seem to be entirely retarded (you're not going on a celery soup diet, no carb diet, etc.), you should be fine.
