Hello /fit/.

I am a skinny geek. I recently got a gym card, but working out is not that fun because it takes too long, like 2 hours (should it? that's a lot of fucking time) - I got an introduction and a program by an instructor, which covers my legs, back, abs and shoulders.

I've tried not doing the "legs" part, and it's a lot better because it cuts out many excecises and thus time.

I like running. My question is:
What if I alternate between running-gym-running-gym (on different days, of course)? It would help keep the time reasonable, but would the muscle balance become "off" or look weird or something? (not that I expect that I'll become buff, I'm doing this more just to get any excercise *at all*).

do legs or you'll look like a frat faggot...

2 hours sounds about right for an intense workout (or a long but shitty one)

two hours? what the fuck are you doing for two hours?

if you're lifting heavy and busting your ass, you should be too tired to keep lifting that long.

look at crossfit. those fuckers time every workout. 20 minutes is long for them. why would you need 2 hours?

>>Protip: If you are skinny then stop the running routine and concentrate on weights and eating

You can't do muscle-building workouts for longer than about an hour; it doesn't work.

You should be able to do a Rippetoe routine in 30-45 minutes easy. Cardio is best done for no longer than 30 minutes, otherwise you strain your heart.

Listen to audiobooks while working out and you're multi-tasking. Get in, get out.

Bullshit. Up to 1 hour of cardio is good.

Well, it strains your heart if you're an out of shape couch whale. But then again, taking a shit probably would strain their heart.

get starting strength (there is a rapidshit somewhere if you're too cheap to buy the book) and do that 3 days per week (lets say mon, wed, fri)
since you don't know how to do power celans do chin ups or rows from the floor instead (or both - alternate every workout)
if you want to run run on 3 (or 2 depending on your recovery) of your rest days, but not longer than 30 minutes (including warm up/cool down)
alternate sprints / walking or slow jogging
you can also do the sprints up hill if you can/want
eat twice as much as now
sleep as much as possible
the last two parts are vital

And? Unless the person can back up the working out for more than one hour claim, no one should take it seriously.

It's takes me about 2 hrs to get a work out mainly because I have to pee alot from drinking so much water. Plus you have to wait for some spots or machines to use.
