Hey there /fit/ I am trying to lose weight, my recruiter wants me to shed like fifty pounds before I enlist into the military, I would just ask him for advice but due to the month they have to get all their numbers in before the quarter is done so they are way to busy to even talk on the phone with me.

I weight 250 so I have to get down to 200. The thing is how is the best way to lose weight??

As for meals I been trying to watch what I eat, a lil wheat bread, lil dairy and a lil bit of meat. I don't have three meals a day, Instead I been told by my recruiter to break those meals up through out the day. So a normal break fest has became two small lil munchy sort of things.

What is a good work out to do?? I been doing sit ups and been lifting weight. With some jogging and power walking, what is truly a quick way to lose weight?? So post away, I truly don't care if you flame me and such. Thank you for reading and posting.

Kinda in the same boat as you, minus the military.

What branch? I'm in Airforce ROTC at the moment.

Anyways, since you weight omfg 250lbs, if you have a bike I suggest bicycling for a long time on it. Don't quit, you might lose hope once your legs get tired, but you can keep going, believe me.

Once you shed some weight, and you think you can run without killing your joints from your weight, buy some comfy running shoes and start jogging about a mile at first and build up your distance over time.

In ROTC we have to run 1.5 miles within a certain time, and for "fun" we run 3 miles. So be prepared for that.

Also you will probably have a certain amount of pushups/situps/etc.. you need to do.

Get up in the morning and do however many pushups you can do before you get tired.
Then do more at lunch, and dinner.

Goodluck.

I am going in the army, sure its not all high and mighty like marines and such but its better then nothing.

I try to run as far as I can, my knee actually feels good, I have shedded 30 pounds over the course of like 4 months. I want to lose that 50 pounds sooner. I already do sit ups. I try to do at least 100 or more a day.

I see so many of these "I'm disgustingly obese and I'm so stupid that I want to join the military" threads EVERY DAY, that I kind of get the feeling that if I joined the army I'd be a fucking shoe-in for Special Forces. And that makes me sad for our country.

Actually, the weight losing because I want to be healthy.

Joining the military, because I am not really doing any thing with my life, I want further my education. When I get out of doing that for a decent amount of years. They help pay for college. I also get to travel around. Which is a plus in my book.

I already knew what I would be getting into. Plus the person that handles the paper work of where people go and such is my friend. He would be having me go to Germany and such for my first three years. Even if I get send to Iraq then thats life for you.

A recruiter has zero say in where you are deployed. You can get a MOC in writing but not where you will be posted. I seriously doubt you know anyone who can alter your deployment. If you aren't prepared to live in Iraq for 15 months than don't enlist.

Hope you don't get hit by a drunk driver.

Ok that was mean, but you get the point.
