soup /fit/

my globo gym membership just expired so i'm now going to just do bodyweight shit at home.

i'm planning on doing push ups, pull ups, squats, and basic ab exercises like crunch/leg lift/bicycle crunches. i need ideas on how to vary each of these basic motions to make them less boring from day to day and also more intense as my strength grows in proportion to my body weight
>> Anonymous
do pushups with your feet on a chair or vary your hand positions or get a perfect pushup, i got one just so i can work my arms and back at the same time when im warming up with pushups, but here is a good website i use to find variations of exercises so i don't do the same thing over and over again http://www.exrx.net/Lists/Directory.html

not op, but i checked out that website....good shit!! thanks fit!

do single leg squats, and work on learning how to do pistols (unsupported single leg squats)

You will never look like Brad Pitt in Fight Club, never.

Who would want to? He's a skinny faggot. L2/weightlift/

do the pull ups, push ups, and squats as fast as you can out of the bottom of each. This will increase the force you use and will help you to continue developing strength. Also, sprints as fast as you can are good and will build some leg strength too.

Who would prefer looking like Brad Pitt over this
>> Anonymous
>>133853
Is that how real men are supposed to look like?
>> Anonymous
>>133853

I would.

Pitt in Fight club he actually looks like he uses his muscles for something other than repeatedly lifting heavy objects in a gym.

In other words, he looks athletic. You (or the person in the picture) don't.

That is how a real man who does SQUATZ should look like

>>133863
He has functional muscle, and a low bodyfat.
The guy in that picture doesn't have either.

I would and do =)

the guy in the picture has 100% functional muscle and could look like a magazine cover picture after a month or two of cutting

Idiots.

Functional for... lifting more heavy weights into the air? Yep, that's definitely useful...

What is crossfit?
>> Anonymous
>>133912
Functional for looking good
>> Anonymous
>>133912
Functional as in it translates more smoothly into lifting heavy things, such as luggage or packages, in real life.
>> Anonymous
>>133912
large muscle group, compound motion coordination and intensity of work are what crossfit trains. NOT just volume.

they post new workouts every day (well 3 days then a day of rest) of very high intensity. the workouts are varied and randomized so you never get into a rut and train yourself from multiple angles including gymnastics, calisthenics, cardio, olympic lifting, etc. popular with military/law enforcement/firefighters/MMA athletes.

we mere mortals do our best to follow the workout of the day but generally scale it down to make it possible.

Can I jump right in or will I be missing something?
>> Anonymous
>>134011

everyone jumps right in. look on the faq on their page and there are posts about what kind of warm-up/prep you should do.

today's a rest day. start tomorrow. it'll ruin you.
>> Anonymous
you guys are sorely mistaken.

brad pitt looks prettier, but is in no way functional.

yes, the soft pale sorta frumpy looking dude can most likely jump higher, run faster, and is stronger than brad pitt.

his legs alone warrant this.

sorry guys but you have been brainwashed to think of what functional is.

brad pitt has no traps, no delts, no erectors, NO legs, NO hip strength. fucking nothing. you can see his abs, but i guarantee any kid who sits around and plays WOW for hours has abs that look exactly like that under a layer of fatty fat.

in summary, even the best feature of brad pitts body is in fact, weak and underdeveloped

He was repping 225 in bench 8 times during his work out for fight club. Not too bad for a slim body I say.

>>134080
NO U MORON BITCH, LOOK AT BRAD PITT, BRAD PITT HAS FUCKING USEFUL MUSCLE, HE'S ALL TONED AND SHIT, THAT'S USEFUL MUSCLE, REAL CORE STRENGHT BRAH, SMALL AND POWERFUL, THAT'S HOW I WANT TO BE, JUST TONED, DON'T WANT BIG SLOW WEAK MUSCLES
>> Anonymous
>>134092

no he wasn't

they said will smith did 480 when he was training for i robot. these tabloid writers have no fucking clue what they are talking about

if he even had 225 on the bar, it was 1/4 reps with his feet moving around like crazy and a spotter deadlifting half the weight for him.

a real bench is:
fingers on the rings
butt on the bench
feet PLANTED
bar lightly touches lower chest/upper abs
pressed up to lockout with NOBODY TOUCHING IT

brad pitt did NOT do this
>> Anonymous
maybe when he was in troy he did that.

and its still a shit bench
>> Anonymous
>>134107
Not for weighing 160 it isn't.

>>134105
You don't know that he didn't.

not saying he did but, and moving your feet doesn't give you more strength. it gives you less even since you cant push up and get more power to arch your back.
>> Anonymous
what are you argueing? that brad pitt is kinda strong for his size when he was in fight club. the dude in the other pic stuck fucking rapes him, he could squat brad pitt and his whole fucking family for reps. how is having chicken legs being functional?
>> Anonymous
That other asshole is most likely a body builder too lazy to cut, and isn't even strong.
>> Anonymous
>>133853

I had a relative that made his living as a prize fighter, and he was built in this manner. He certainly wasn't pretty, but he could deliver solid hit, and his fat helped him better absorb the hits of his opponents.
>> Anonymous
>>134161
Yes. And that makes everyone who is build roundly instead of defined strong as an MMA fighter, and powerful.

That's like saying every fat ass has the potential to be Fedor.
>> Anonymous
>>134150
well, maybe you have a point. but you're still a putz.
>> Anonymous
>>134166
Yeah, just like everyone built like Fight Club Brad can consider themselves paragons of strength and healthiness.

Get the log out of your ass, /fa/g.
>> Anonymous
He looks quite fit and healthy to me. Please explain how he is unfit and unhealthy with a body like that?
>> Anonymous
>>134166
learn2logic.

Just because he knew someone with that shape that was an excellent fighter isn't an attempt to imply any chubby guy is a prize fighter. Go find a different site to be dumbass on.
>> Anonymous
>>134166

My point is well-defined muscular structure doesn't always mean it's functional.

Why don't you go and look in the mirror more, you narcissistic faggot.

OP, go to walmart, get yourself some freeweights, $30-$50 should do it, and get a book of freeweight exercises. you dont need the gym and its fancy equipment
