What's /fit/'s view on alcohol?

I have a lot of big parties coming up and I'd really rather not have to remain sober at them.

It can stimulate muscle growth if consumed moderately

Hmm... what if I venture away from beers and ciders?

Whats the general consensus on vodka and other such spirits?

No. Just no.

Alcohol lowers testosterone levels, which is the exact opposite of what you want when trying to build muscle.

OP: Alcohol, past 1 or 2 drinks, is seriously bad for fitness. It fucks everything up.

So SOME people MAY get an increase. The solution? Get drunk and then have your testosterone levels measured. If they're elevated, then you're golden. Just remember to do about 3x the cardio to burn off all of the fat that is in alcohol.

Think about it.

You've been drunk before. You know exactly what happens. You know exactly what it feels like. You probably loosen up a bit. You probably get a little dizzy. You might get happy. You might get sad. You might get hysterical. You get too drunk to drive, so either you crash on someone else's floor, or you drive home and maybe get a DUI, maybe hit some idiot out in the road in the middle of the night, or maybe make it home safely. You'll probably have a hangover. You might get the shits. You'll probably be dehydrated. You probably won't be 100% for the rest of the day. You'll probably skip your workout.

Every time I get drunk, the next day, I'm like, that totally wasn't worth it. Maybe it's different for you. That's all the more power to you.

In other words, unless you're angry dunk, you're shit outta luck. I'm a silly/touchy-feely drunk myself.
