Hi /fit/,

Yesterday at around 5:45 PM, I saw a wounded squirrel in a graveyard and I didn't know the phone numbers for Animal Control or the Humane Society so I went to a tree about 15 feet away, got an acorn and put it like 6 inches in front of the squirrel. The squirrel slowly turned away, but then I put the acorn right next to the squirrel, the acorn touched it in fact. The squirrel turned away again and its tail brushed over the acorn. I picked up the acorn again and put it 6 inches in front of the squirrel. The squirrel rejected the acorn a third time, and that's when I left. Like 10-15 minutes later, I washed my hands with normal soap, and 10-15 minutes after that, I washed my hands with Purell (some Antibiotics hand sanitizer). What do you think, am I at risk for like rabies or something?

What are you confused about?

I mean, was I exposed to rabies because of what I did?

from touching an acorn that a squirrels tail touched? no.

rabies is spread through saliva, which usually means you have to be bitten. not to mention animals with rabies are rabid and demented, you'd know if it was crazy. it probably just had a broken leg and you scared the shit out of it.

I agree with>>154316. Now I know your type, OP, you'll probably be like, "Well what if it was a rainy day?" or some other faggot question. If there was a delay between your getting near the squirrel and the squirrel's moving away, it means that the squirrel was gathering itself to move away despite its pain. You did more harm than good, OP. And on top of that, you're paranoid.

LOL @ "at around 5:45 PM"

dont you know rabies is more likely to be contracted just before nightfall? get to a clinic

i doubt a squirrel would let you get this close unless it was very familiar with you, like you fed it acorns everyday
