Bad Knee Anonymous
I have been performing squats and they are a great exercise, but i think im doing it wrong. Lately my knees have been hurting. Yesterday as i began to climb the stairs of my apartment me knee felt like it couldn't take my weight. Its this dangerous? should i lay off the squats until i develop a proper technique?

Squat through the pain. If you feel the bones warping and changing under stress, that means you are becoming more powerful.

see a doctor. knees are easily damaged. see a doctor.

NO PAIN NO GAIN.

When you feel that, it means you should keep going even harder and they will warp and become even stronger knees! Trust me.

Deep squatz put very little strain on the knee.
Perhaps you're doing shitting 1/4 or 1/2 squat? That might damage your knee.

what the hell, who are you, me?

my right knee started killing me a few days ago. !_!

You're probably not squatting below parallel. If you pussy squat you cut your knees out of the lift therefore allowing the other incorporated muscles to get stronger but leaving your knees weak.

Lower the weight drastically and start learning to go ass to the grass so your knees can get stronger.

If you suffer from bad kneez like me, put some bandagez on your kneez before SQUATZ.

First of all, you are supposed to squat with your feet at least parallel to your shoulder width to reduce strain.

Second of all, JUST DON'T DO SQUATS. I've seen an entier generation of taekwondo masters with fucked up knees because of those damned squats.

Third and finally, GO SEE A DOCTOR. Knees are easily damaged.

I have a bad knee from running. When I do anything that puts stress on my knee, like running more than 1 mile, I get unbearable sharp pains in my knee and I can't walk or go down stairs without my knee collapsing from my own body weight.

I stopped running and I avoid all exercises that put strain on my knee. Start looking up exercises that work the same muscle groups (you'll probably have to do a few) and put less stress on your knees. And if you have health insurance, go to a doctor. They'll test out whether you fucked up anything serious and they'll probably refer you to a physical therapist.

You have to differentiate: Is the pain caused by muscle, tendon or ligament pain? Or is the pain caused by bone/grizzle pain.
The first one is good, it shows you trained and your body tells you to rest so it can rebuild.
The second one is bad.
You damaged something that should not be damaged, by bad form or whatever.
Anyway, REST now, until the pain is gone.
