hello /fit/
in near future i will be having a surgery that will restrict my eating to smoothies for at least 2 weeks.

are there any foods or supplements (that can be blender-ized) that would promote healing, reduce swelling, etc? i'd also like to know the best way to keep my... 'meals' somewhat nutritionally complete, short of blending up a chicken breast. thank you!
>> Guil
Look into supplements like Myoplex. They are meal replacements and give you everything a meal would.

Also, promote healing reduce swelling is Zinc, Vitamin E+C..+B and.. I might be missing one or two, but those are always good.

Might try the local health food store. They would be able to help you with which food and suppliments might help with healing and such.

I do know cloves are a natural anesthetic and cinnamon is a natural aneseptic, so if you mix a little (they are very strong, so use sparingly) in with applesause it could help with any pain, and infection.

Myoplex is the way to go. Don't get the Deluxe stuff though, it's just a waste of money. I liked the chocolate lover's mix personally.

I also like Metomyosyn, mainly because it has a better flavor and a lot more potassium. But it is a little grainier in texture.

Holy shit, I'm gonna need to get that done to. This thread has now become relevant to my interest for when I get the surgery done
(Is it for an underbite or is it just misaligned somehow?)

You might try some udos oil. I heard that omega 3's are good for reducing swelling. Personally I just like the taste of the udos oil on my salads. But you might want to try it in your shakes, for a healthy fat calorie intake. And don't worry it wont change the taste of your shales at all.

mines an overbite.. or underbite... whichever one it is when the lower jaw needs to be bought forward.
i'll probably only need to have the lower jaw cut, but there's a chance theyll have to move my upper jaw somehow (?!) to make it all fit. shitsucks

go with v8 juice like the carrot tropical kind yogurt plain or vanilla your choice. peanut butter bananna get the prefrozen fruit mix and let it thaw before you blend it (very yummy) cinnamon and suger 1:3 to keep the power of the cinnamon flavor light. Little orange juice and bam. Tastes a little like peanutbutter crunch and crunch berries.

You have an overbite. I have an underbite as depicted here.
The orthodontist told me they need to fix it by "shaving my jawbone" to make it smaller. Youch.
Hope the surgery goes well!
