Theodore Roosevelt
/fit/...i need a little medical advice here.

I think I had a panic attack last night, but I've never had one before so I dunno if thats what it was. I started eating dinner last night, and started feeling really out of it...about half an hour later I strated feeling really fucking disconnected from my body...like if I moved my arm I wouldn't really be aware that I was moving it. My vision felt weird as well, not double vision, but almost like my brain was trying to go into double vision mode. Slightly elevated heart rate as well. I had some wine to try to calm down, but that didn't really help, so I just went to bed, feeling really fucking uncomfortable, like as if you're high out of your mind...I slept on and off for about 10 hours(dreaming about deadlifts, curiously enough). I feel better now, but still a little depersonalized and loopy.

I haven't done any drugs in over 6 months, I drink very little, I exercise a lot, and I eat healthy...

So what the fuck happened? Any help is appreciated...

Cause I always suck at explaining these things to doctors, and they always shrug it off anyway...

Lol, you should listen to yourself.
"I wasn't panicing, did I have a panic attack?"

Seriously, if you were someone I could see in person I would bap you on the head.

I don't know the 'technical' term for what you described, something along the lines of a disacciative episode. I've had the exact same thing happen to me a few times, but not for several years. It goes away in a day or so, and it usually happened when I was depressed or otherwise emotionally overwhelmed. Anything happen recently?

Anxiety attack. Happens to everyone once in a while. Sometimes it feels like you're having a heart attack complete with tingly arm and shortness of breath.

The best thing to do is call your closest friend or family member and talk about the most pleasant things you can imagine. I used to get these a lot after being discharged from the military (mild PTSD) and I would always talk to my room mate when they happened or play old SNES games with him on co-op.

Do ANYTHING to occupy your mind when this happens and try your best not to be alone. Even if nobody close is available, just go for a walk outside as the fresh air and sight of other people will most likely calm you down.

been dealing with some depression and ocd recently, but I've been pretty much fine for the last month...last time I felt like this was like 6 months ago after smoking way too much of some really strong weed...therefore I stopped smoking.
