I'm looking for beginners tips on climbing rope. Not sure if I should start off with super thick or the smallest size. Some knots for support? Also, what changes will this make for my body. I'm hoping to get broader shoulders and probably stronger arms. Should I just climb up and down as many times as possible, or hang there suspended maybe. As much as I am doing this for this physical benefits, it's also partial cosplay reasons. You'll all tell me I'm retarded, but you're not a real pirate or ninja if you can't clime a rope.

Tie a rope to something then climb it. If you are too weak to climb said rope, shoot self.

Hmm... I don't know, all I know about the rope thing is generic 90s kids cartoons with the PE setting, where they had to climb the rope a lot. In the meantime, however, you're pulling yourself up; do pulling exercises with your bodyweight. Pullups, chinups, other variations, etc.

Tie the rope to something high then climb it. Then, when you get to the top, tie the rope around your neck and jump off whatever it is you climbed up.

i just put up a 15 foot climbing rope in my garage. hardest 2 hours every spent due to the fact that i had no ladder. and had to use support beams in the middle and 4 plyo boxes stacked on to each other to get high enough. i was scared shitless the whole time drilling.

needless to say i got it up in about an hour and i tied 4 kettlebells to it weighing at 240 pounds and im gunna leaving them on overnight to see if it's strong enough to hold people before they fall 15 feet on pavement.

thank you for listening to my story
