Bodybuilding vs Strength Training.

What are the benefits of doing both at the same time?

Also, which sets-x-reps should I aim for for each?

Body Building = Bigger muscles (hypertrophy), train in the 8-10 rep range to achieve this.
Strength Training = stronger muscles, train in the 4-6 rep range to achieve this.
Endurance training = improved/more blood flow to muscles, can work for longer, train in the 12+ rep range for this. Hope this helps.

This is very very general, but is accurate at a basic level, though I've seen a lot of bodybuilders do reps in the 12-15 range as well.

Well based off that, would 'bodybuilding' give you some of the benefits of Strength and Endurance training as well as hypertrophy?

like 50% the effect of str training
50% endurance
+ hypertrophy?

sorry yeah i was being really general there. Endurance training has an influence on strength training, the converse is also true. I've heard it's best to start with endurance and work your way down the reps, but I'm not precisely sure. Body-builders may work in the 12-15 rep range to increase the blood flow to their muscles more effectively than the 8-10 rep range does. Setting themselves up for a more efficient workout in the lower range, later on.

even if it's general, it's useful. thanks.
