Itchy legs Anonymous
So, /fit/ lately when I shave my legs I get these nasty itchy bumps and I was wondering if you have any tips for preventing getting them.

Get a razor with more than two blades.

Also, if anyone can answer this as it pertains to pubes...

moisturizer, NOT one with aloe cause it'll sting

Soften the hair first (shower+shaving cream, wait a bit after creaming!), use a fresh cartridge with 3+ blades (dull blades are very bad here). Use zinc creme afterwards to prevent inflammation, and peeling shower gel on the next days because the hair is growing back, and by the time it does there's a thin skin over it, preventing it from coming out easily.

Wrong.

The problem is you're shaving too close for your skin. More blades will worsen this (unless you're using a single bladed razor and reshaving the same area multiple times to get a close shave).

Consider waxing or depilatory cream.

In very sensitive areas (like my neck), I switched from shaving creams/gels to shaving oils, and the difference is staggering.

Also, I read an article i thought was stupid a few years back that advocated gradually getting rid of shaving creams/gels/oils and your skin in these areas will get used to it, and I gave it a try and it actually works very well. I let my razor blade dull for a few shaves, and then I can design a nice clean pubes line above my peepee and it doesn't hurt or itch at all, no bumps, nothing. Been doing it for about a year now and it's great. I'm still scared to try it on my neck as my hair there grows in a bunch of different directions, so it's not nearly as safe.
