Hey /fit/
This may be amazing to most of because I am not here to ask you about a FITNESS question, but a question on health.

I've been working at a warehouse for two years now, I am usually secluded from everyone else. Afterwards I come home and lock myself in my room (I'm only 20, still living with my parents). I barely have any social contact with the outside world, for one of two reasons:
I don't want to have any social relations with anyone
and
I am very uninteresting, unresponsive and unintelligent.
I believe its because I tend to distance myself from everyone else, but I also feel that it is because I am just a boring person.
Anyways, the question I wanted to ask is, what is the best way to increase brain productivity? I have friends that just amaze me because of how quickly they can answer question, or crack a joke on the spot, or just have something interesting to talk about. I want to be that person.

tl;dr: I'm stupid, I need help with smart.

Increase social contact

honestly... practice makes perfect. If you hang out around people and engage in conversation regularly you will get better at it.

The thing is, I would talk to people more, but like I mentioned above, I am boring. Literally nothing to talk about unless it comes to video games or throwing boxes. Just a shy person overall, I guess.

Sup OP, I'm kinda like you. Spent 80% of my life sitting my ass down staring at a monitor. The only way to fix it is to get out there and well.. just talk. Hang out with funny and interesting people it'd be hard to spot at first but after a month or two you'll be fine. After that its smooth sailing and me being the person who spent 80% of time on the computer talking to people via games and text rather then in person I find it easier to talk to people on aim then in person for some reason. FFF if only i could switch that shit.

Same position as OP. I did a couple of barrel rolls the other day...Didn't help with my social status much.

Anyway, yeah, read lots of books and observe people. And think of respones that you would come up with that feel natural to you.

step 1: You're a bad ass
step 2: Get a skill of some kind, that others will think is neat. Not anything too insane, just learn to rave or fix cars or some shit.
step 3: talk about it, and/or do it.

Argue on internet forums (seriously). This is infact one of the quickest ways to make yourself smarter. Obviously 'internet forum' is a little vague, but the general idea is to try and find the most intellectual board around for something you're interested in.

relevant to my interests.

about the same as OP, only I went to college and found friends that like to sit in their ass and either play games, watch movies, smoke weed or roam /b/.

...I'm honestly considering not to kill this group of friends this time in an 'unfortunate accident'...

To allow you to expand your abilities to argue, sure. To increase knowledge, maybe. To become more social, definitely not. Internet does not = real life, no matter how you want to phrase it.

Yeah thats true, for example even though while your playing WoW talking on vent to your guild mates and shit and having your "internet gurl friend" its not the same in real life. You can just turn off the screen and stop talking to them, also seeing how they would re-act to you would be a whole knew sensations and its just a fucking overload on your part. It takes time.
