I've been running short distances (two or three miles) for a couple of weeks now, taking a longer trip every time. I just started it but I think I'm in a better shape as I thought, 'cause I have no trouble running the whole time, I don't get out of breath too bad and don't really feel my legs hurting or anything.

Well, that's kinda irrelevant. My question is, what's the ideal distance? I've been running about two or three times a week. Should I push myself to the absolute limit every time or keep to just taking short trips? I mainly run to get some exercise and for the good feeling I get afterwards, I'm not really looking into getting super fit but just getting into shape like I've been doing and staying in decent condition and healthy.

I don't do a lot of sports in addition, we play some soccer with a friend of mine every now and then but that's really nothing that puts up a sweat or anything.

I also do a lot of push-ups, although irregularly. While I'm at home, lurking mah 4chan, I just get down on the floor every now and then and do some push-ups for the lulz.

I figured I might as well do all this as efficiently as possible while it lasts. I won't probably stay this enthusiastic for long. I'm new here @ /fit/ so excuse me if/as this has been covered in the past.

Pic unrelated.
