Law Enforcement Liam
Hello /fit/,

I'm curious, I'm interested in becoming a police officer - I'm in pretty good shape, 6'3, 195 lbs. Now, are there actual physical fitness requirements to becoming a police officer that you guys know of? What should I expect?

In before "join the military instead."

Pic unrelated.

In the US you'll have to deal with a test, which varies from state to state. In the UK look at the metro police training test.

In my home state (Illinois in the US) the power (Peace Officer Wellness Evaluation Report) test is found here:

http://www.dps.uiuc.edu/power.pdf

If you can pass the illinois power test you should be able to pass the fitness tests of about anywhere in the world for being an officer.

Height used to be a requirement, not anymore in the US, but it may be internationally.

I think one of the tests is to bench press 95% of your weight, but im not sure

Check this:

Generally they have relatively easy, basic requirements. The pushup requirements seem to vary a lot though.

OP here, Michigan

Also, thanks for replying, glad I caught the thread before it flew away into the /fit/ abyss.

Double posting in my own topic, how gay.

Thanks for the links too, I want to make sure I'm a fit and well prepared officer, not one of the fat greasy bastards we have around here that can't even chase a guy down.

Also, the irony of me posting about becoming a cop on 4chan is quite deep.

I'm pretty sure you have to be at least 6' to be a state trooper in PA. Also, sauce on OP image? I'm very aroused by it.

Well, I'm 6'3, so no problem there. I'm also not in that state.
