sup /fit/
so ive been trying to eat healthier at work for the past week or 2. instead of getting greasy burgers or greasy chinese food, ive been getting salads here. im trying to lose ~20-25 pounds

the problem is that i dont know if the salads here are what you would call "healthy" salads. it's got cheese, dressing, tomatos, beans, the whole 9 yards. the entire thing stuffs me up completely. is the entire point of eating salads NOT suppose to fill you up?

tl;dr am i shooting myself in the foot with these? should i order just some grilled chicken by itself or make a simple sandwich from now on? pic related, it's my lunch.

Certainly depends on which kind of dressing and cheese... But genereally, i'd say you should stay away from those.

Beans tomatoes and all the other ingredients are generally fine, also some chicken bits and what not.

But dressing and cheese = nono (generally speaking).

But why dont you make the stuff yourself, perhaps save some money.
Just make a huge batch, and put it in the fridge.

Is wrong on some points. Carbs are not the enemy, the WRONG carbs are !

Sugarbased carbs are absorbed much faster and are less "dense", so stay away from those.
Also, fat isnt a bad thing in moderate quantities, as long as it isnt deepfry oil and the like.

As said, make it yourself, without the dressing (if you MUST, then get a healthy lowfat/lowcarb one), and loose the cheese.

OP here.

Yeah, alot of negative reviews, I figured. I knew this salad tasted too good to be true.

>chicken breast would be best
could you recommend anything else? the lunch options here are plentiful, so name off some things i should get from now. getting chicken for the rest of my life for lunch will get kind of boring

Tuna is fucking amazing food, but I suppose it'll be difficult to find with no mayo or shit like that. wholewheat bread sammiches, maybe with turkey, other lean meats or (god forbid) no meat at all. You might lower your portion size but depending on your sex/height/weight a sensible lower limit for calorie intake is 1500
