Stop drinking soda, start drinking more water

Change your diet, start doing cardio exercise(running, jumping jacks, jump rope etc.)

the same advice comes up in every one of these threads and it works

try it.

Haven't had soda in about 4 months, 2-4 miles on the treadmill 3-4 days per week, 5 small meals per day. That's been my routine for the past 2 months or so, should I just stick with it? (I've only lost 5 pounds, but there is notable increase in muscle visibility, though not apparent in the picture).

eat 3 meals, with the biggest meal being breakfast. pay attention to calories. remember that it takes 2500 calories to burn a pound of fat.

try to up the intensity of your cardio, maybe try HIIT
make sure your diet is good, kudos on 5 meals a day

beyond that, the most single important thing is consistancy. just keep at it, and you'll keep loseing. if you stop, you'll be a fatty forever. if you keep going, you'll be skinny sooner or later.

You're either lying or not giving us the full story.

Even if you're cheating CONSTANTLY with that regimen you should have lost around 16 pounds.

Oh fuck, I just checked my weight, I lost 15 lbs. Just got back from gym, 4 miles on treadmill, ran about a mile and a half, jogged a half and fast-pace walked the rest. 15 minute walk home for cool down.

3500 calories = a pound, actually.

Actually, you're both wrong. It's more like 4100.
Take a pound. That's approximately 454 grams. There are 9 calories in a gram of fat. 454*9 is approximately 4100 calories.

I may be doing this wrong, but that seems to make the most sense. Any dietitians here to confirm that?

It's 3500 roughly. This is confirmed by a lot of people. If it was 4100 roughly, they would say so.

how does i lost weight is easily remedied by 6-8 smaller meals spread throughout the day, with proper percentages (ie 40/40/20 protein/carbs/fat). Add some cardio every other day, no soda, no candy, no fast foods, moderate weight training, 3 liters of water a day, and you're looking at not being a fat sack of crap anymore.

WOW I CAN LOOK STUFF UP ON THE INTERNET INSTEAD OF THINKING I'M SPECIAL AND NEED SPECIAL ADVICE.
