rowing machines /fit/ how good are they for burning calories?

and what price range / brand do you suggest?

also, whats the deal with different resistance types, like Air, Magnetic, etc, and what are the pro's and cons of each type.

relevance?

resistance training is great for fat burning whilst training muscles too.

i don't know, in my exp magnetics just have a higher weight, but the airs are nice and refreshing. ;)

they're not particularly complicated machines, any should be ok.

don't buy. it will just take up space in your living room. at a gym or a college P.E. facility is better because they have other machines too.

they're good for your back though.

i used to have one and eventually the hydraulic lost pressure. we couldn't get it fixed so it just became a big pile of junk. so think about breakage.

Whats the difference between 30 mins treadmill and 30 mins rowing machine? Surely the pay off is pretty similar?
