What do you eat in place of processed meats? Anonymous
After just now looking up the hazards of processed meats like my favorite extra lean Jennie-O ground turkey I'd use for hamburgers, I don't really know what unprocessed meat would satisfy me!

I stopped eating regular ground beef because of it being fattening and processed, but it appears as though even my turkey ground beef is still under that same category.

Anyway, for the people who avoid and don't eat processed meats, what do you eat in place of it?

Also, could someone point out some more of the common processed foods we might not be aware of?

Liver. Seriously.

You can't go wrong with hamburger patties. Thin steaks are also good.

Chicken breasts and thighs.

But regular hamburger patties are processed, right?

they are minimially processed, but have high levels of saturated fat. 'processed meat' really refers to things like bacon and sausage etc.

I was reading an online article that put even deli luncheon meat as too processed.

Such as ham and even chicken breast slices.

I will try the liver though.

Liver? Seriously?

Explain to me why that is a good idea. I would be interested to know. Not OP, by the way.

Liver is actually chock fucking full of vitamins and minerals. So much so actually that it's not a good idea cause you could ingest too much of them, iron being one example.

Meant to say it's not a good idea to eat a lot of liver. A little bit every once in a while is good.

If you want to eat meats that aren't really processed with extra shit just eat kosher meat.
