Yo.
A few years ago, my girlfriend went to a therapist for an eating disorder (anorexia). She eats fine now, but I can tell she's still a little bothered with her stomach. Even though her arms/ upperbody/ legs are thin (she's normally thin), her stomach has a SLIGHT (VERY slight) pouchyness. She eats SUPER healthy, EXTREMELY well rounded and nutritious meals. She also works out 5 days a week.
It wasn't until she met me that she started doing weights. I got her into some lifting/ aerobic classes that build muscle as well as strengthen the cardiovascular system, but she keeps doing the eliptical for 40+ minutes on days she doesn't have the class. She does way too much cardio... running at home and doing the eliptical at the gym.

What can I tell her to do that will work on her stomach? I told her to focus on core exercise in general, but what are some SPECIFIC exercises I can teach her (tell her) to do?

Sit-ups, V-ups, crunches, leg-lifts on that weird-looking chair thing... I figure those are what she really needs to focus on to achieve her goal.

PS: This picture reminds me of "The Last Starfighter."

it's most likely genetics. Unfortunately OP, there's no such thing as spot reduction (if that's what you mean by core exercises, if not then forgive me). The best that she can do is get over it. And besides OP, how do you personally feel about her small kangaroo disorder?

When we fuck, I grab it. I think it's hot. I tell her that.She doesn't have any aversions to me touching her stomach when we're naked; I'm positive she has no SERIOUS issues with it. It's just not tone.

I guess what I'm asking is, how do I motivate somebody away from shitty-ass cardio and into core training?

I guess just tell her how you feel. Be all like, you look fine, quit being a psycho bitch, get on the couch and let me fuck you, ect...

LOL.
I do. We do. Then she goes to the gym later to do cardio. She likes cardio.

The problem is that she's smart (needs longer explainations, scientific evidence), and all into nutrition (going for her masters in that shit). I'm smart (a bad ass), but I don't give a fuck about nutrition, nor do I give a fuck about cardio.

How can I illustrate the benefits of core-conditioning to her, down-talk excess cardio, and sound LIKE I KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT SO SHE'LL BELIEVE ME at the same time.

tldr;

Although it's not scientifically valid, this is by far the best explanation for a balance between cardio and weight training. I hope this helps OP.
