Simple Q Blarge
I've been working out 3 weeks straight with no rest days is this particularly bad? Pic is me I'm 14 130 lbs 5"7
>> Anonymous
Yeah. If you're lifting, then you're not allowing your body to repair, thus it won't improve or grow. Slow the fuck down.
>> Blarge
Well.. I've increased all of the weights on my sets 3 times already.. and when I try to rest all I think about is lifting some more plz halp!!
>> JESUS
I lift weights everyday. Buts its a different muscle group everyday.

like legs, arms, chest/abs in 3 days and repeat.

Is this good/bad??
>> Anonymous
give whatever muscle you workout minimum 48 hours to recover before hitting it again.

what type of workout you doing? full body each day?

are you forgetting back and shoulders?

you could do
day 1 back/biceps
day 2 shoulders/legs
day 3 chest/triceps
>> Blarge
I do 20 reps chest press with free weights, 20 sit ups with a 15 lb weight behind my head, 200 lbs 20 lbs on the leg press, 20 reps with the bicep curls, 20 reverse bicep curls , 20 overhead triceps and repeat for about ..... maybe 50-60 times a day
>> JESUS
>>177422
Arms include shoulders. Chest includes back. Sorry I didn't mention
>> Anonymous
>>177426
if your doing that in one workout then skip a day between workouts. Your muscles NEED to recover, and 48 hours is a known amount of time to be the minimum for it.

weight behind your head? not sure what you mean by this. are you working tricep overhead extensions or military shoulder press'

are you working out at home or a gym?

also, your missing your back/lats
>> Blarge
weight behind my head when I do sit ups makes for serious ab workout, tricep over head extensions, home, and yeah I always forget to do back and lats ><

since your working out at home, try to get a pullup bar and fit that into your workout. even if you cant to a pullup to start keep trying and in a couple weeks you'll be happy you started
>> Blarge
I've got this pull up bar outside but my room is upstairs and so is all of my workout gear and after my 2nd rep on the leg press running outside to do 20 pull ups is a bitch but I guess I should just man the fuck up..

heres a link for you. its a great website, and the forums are very active.

http://www.teenbodybuilding.com/

you'll also want to take in some protein within about an hour after working out, to feed the muscles you just hit.

But its important for you to do the workout every other day instead of every day. fit in some running or another form of cardio on the days in between if you want to stick to a 7 day workout.

goodluck

thanks dude that site looks really legit I wanted to try some creatine to help me with my weightlifting :]
>> Anonymous
the site has great articles and forum activity...

I wasn't linking it to you for stuff to buy :P..

You should stay away from most supplements since your only 14.

if anything at all get a multivitamin and some protein powder.

if you learn about proper nutrition and a good workout program you will be well ahead of most if not all your classmates.
>> Blarge
Ok /fit/ do you think me sticking dildos in my ass will stop my muscle growth? I mean really... It hurts and my ass feels like it's holding me... and last night while I was putting the dildo in my ass my legs kinda went stiff, halp!
>> Blarge
>>177529
oooh... I didn't even notice the forum... could you recommend any multivitamins and some protein powder.
Proper nutrition is my weak point I just try to over load on carbs right before my workout because I start at 1PM to 9 Pm with some break time typically 2-4 mins

Multivitamins are useless. Eat vegetables and fruit.

protein powder has increased in price over the past 5 months or so.

a nice multivitamin that is pretty cheap is http://www.dpsnutrition.net/get_item_no088.htm

as far as protein goes, Whey protein is the main type. alot of companies sell it. get whatever is the best price, some taste better than others. The main thing to look for on the label when comparing is
1. amount of protein per serving
2. serving size and servings per container

the one i usually buy is http://www.dpsnutrition.net/get_item_on055.htm but its like 80$ for a 10 pound bag

shop around for what you can afford. this site has nice prices on stuff usually better than youll find locally
>> Blarge
oooo thats still way cheaper then these protein shakes I buy its 8 for like 20 dollars they are very very small tho
>> Anonymous
>>177560
try to shoot for about 40g of protein in your after workout shake. so the one i use thats 2 scoops.

you can learn allot about nutrition in that site i linked. use the protein shake mainly for after working out, since that form of protein only takes about 20 minutes to get into your body , the rest of the day fill with whole foods.
>> Blarge
>>177566
GOD DAMN 40G of protein WTF!!!!!!! the most the stores in my city is 18... I'd be like fucking super man with that much protein

Thus 4chan summer is defined.

yea premade drinks aren't all that good.

you get more for the money by buying the powder and mixing it with water. or milk if your into that

if you want the best tasting protein powder go with cytosport muscle milk, they have alot of flavors and they taste great... but you get ALOT less for the money.

take it. creatine is perfectly safe and effective.
>> Anonymous
>>177649
dude hes 14... creatine is a nice boost when you reach a plateau in your workout as an adult, but thats about it. most of the gain you see is jsut a bloat because of the water retention effect creatine has.

its not 100% bad, but for him its not needed.
>> Anonymous
Your body makes enough creatine. Bull seman is another story.

Pro-hormones. Get them while they're legal.
