I need some help /fit/
I have very weak fingers and I need advice on how to strengthen them.
I'm too much of a faggot to do proper finger pushups so how to I progressively increase my finger strength?
I do plenty of exercises for my wrist, none of which really target the fingers specifically.

there is no way to specificaly train fingers. you have to train your grip.

you can do this by gripping plates and holding the, using grip trainer, a wrist roller, using larger bars and handles when weight lifting or doing dips/pull ups (also, when doing pull ups, use a large rope or towel, it makes you grip harder)

try heavy deadlifts or just holds where you stack as miuch as you can, un rack the weight and just hold it right a tight grip.

also look into sledgehammer training for wrist/grip strength.

Grip a double newpaper page in each hand by the corner and hold your arms outstretched by your side (at 90° to body). Slowly work the pages into the palm of your hand and keep scrunching the paper. Keep it moving and keep scruncing/gripping. Start on 2 or 3 minutes, then work your way up. Fucks your fingers and forearms up.

I was going to say deadlifts too.

Well there is some good news in all of that.
Today I was doing arms and incorporated some wrist rolling exercise with a measly yet painful 5lbs attached.
I walked around with 25lbs plates in my hands for about 30 seconds each try, really felt the burn in my wrist and fingers.
I also started to do deadlifts with my leg workout since it is supposed to be an essential exercise... Didn't notice anything happening with my hands, but my ass hurts.

do you think thats something that should be used only at higher levels? Seems like its something that migt not be accessible to someone just starting out on grip training. but who knows, maybe i am just a pussy

you can buy diffrerent levels of Cocs. If you are really concerned about being too weak for one jsut start with the "guide." it's stronger than every other standard grip but ull get up there in no time. Also, buy one of these because you can set it up to work different parts of grip.

wtf is so good about these? They're not adjustable and you'll end up buying another. GG marketing.

Buy an adjustable gripper or build one yourself.

hey noob, most grippers dont even have the resistance of the lowest CoC grip and the quality doesnt compare. sure, it's annoying to have to buy more as you progress (most people probably wont reach past 2.5 or 3) but you arent getting shit from 100 reps of this crap.

if you're retarded enough to buy a gripper with plastic parts then you deserve to spend more money.

I was doing this today, it was killing the wrist, then some guy suggested I try a plate walk like>>398502said.

And I felt it much more in my fingers.

That gripmaster looks awesome, too bad they don't make them adjustable. No way my pinky is as strong as the rest.

farmers walk really work your traps and forearm strenght more than pinching a plate. the latter puts more emphasis on your fingers to provide the strength.

wrist curls is pretty damn good. arnold promotes wrist curles, jaaaaah.

Stress balls work well. Those little foam balls that you squeeze in your hand are great for working on grip. Plus you can usually get some for free at trade shows and expos, they are a common tchotchke item.

Indoor wall climbing. I did this for a couple years and it gave me godly strength in my fingers.

I should add that it works straight away as well. You'll notice your hands noticably stronger after a week.

I'm just not sure if I could even get started, my lack of finger strength is dire.

>>398651
I do shrugs and upward rows for my traps, and a few things for my forearms like the wrist curls and inverted curls, maybe I'll keep doing both but if pinching the plate will strengthen my fingers I think I will focus more on that.

>>398737
yup, keep focusing on forearm/trap work, thats always good but make sure you're practicing the exercises that have the best direct carry over. If you want stronger fingers, pinch plates and use grip trainers.

wait wut

i was always under the impression that you couldn't really train your fingers since there are no muscles in them
>> Anonymous
>>398783
no, you can't you have to workout the grip but you can work out different parts of the grip. some exerciseemphasize other parts more than others.

For instance, pinching plates puts more stress on the fingers and the wrist.

Using thick bars/thick ropes workouts the forearms and overall grip more.

>>398783

Then how do you move your fingers in the first place? Obviously there are muscles somewhere that move the fingers, and you can train these.
>> Anonymous
>>398790
there are but you can't train them like larger muscles. That's like saying you're going to work out your jaw muscle or big toe muscle. Body parts like that require larger muscles to initiate the action and those are the muscles you want to train.

finger strength = grip strength.

The douchebag personal trainer also told me to do finger pushups and said everyone could do the 10 finger ones and looked at me with a shocked face when I said it was beyond me.

Deadlifts and grippers/crushers. My hands are strong as fuck after doing 150kg DLs.

I also do 20kg plate grips to finish them off.
