How can you tell if you have a sleeping disorder or something similar? I'm big into video games and so I stay up late (2 AM or so) at least two times a week, besides that, I sleep regularly. Problem is, I don't remember my dreams, nor do I feel rested, the hardest part of my day is waking up because I can't force myself out of bed, forcing myself to go to bed is also a huge issue even though I love sleep. My last problem is that even though I HAVE gotten enough rest, on weekends I usually sleep 9 hours or more.

Over sleeping will make you feel unrested. Sleeping for 8 hours a night and waking up every morning at the same time is pretty critical to feeling rested.

Staying up late aint no thang as long as you devote 8 hours to sleep. Don't sleep for 12 hours, though.

Trust yourself, if you got 9 hours of sleep you are probably well rested, you just feel tired. If you have trouble going to sleep even if you're on a very constant sleep schedule then you could possibly have a slight disorder, although what you described sounds pretty damn similar to what I experienced when I was in highschool.

Don't worry too much about it. You'll know it when you have a sleeping disorder.

>I HAVE gotten enough rest,

You clearly haven't if you're waking up tired.

Consider what you're sleeping on too, what kind of bed is it? Is it comfortable? Do you smoke cigarettes? What do you do an hour before bed? Are you winding down your activities like you're supposed to? Do you eat or snack before you sleep?

Get enough exercise, and read something before you go to bed.

How old are you?

Sleeping too much makes you tired. Sleeping too little makes you tired. 8 hours of sleep is what it is for the average person, but you may be different.

I had the same problem as you, I'd sleep a good 9-12 hours and wake up groggy for hours. I found that sleeping 6-7 hours was about perfect for me, I'd wake up easily and have energy for the rest of the day.

Exercising helps, too. I don't like really any exercise, but I do enjoy walks, and even just walking a mile or two a day does wonders for energy and sleep.

how far over weight are you?(if at all)
Sleep apnea could be the issue. I have the same problem, the weight of my neck fat constricts the airflow, causing me to wake up for a moment while sleeping, enough to cause lack of REM. A doctor can prescribe a breathing machine, but the best way to get rid of it is to loose weight.

I have the same problem I get 7-8 hours of sleep daily

but I still feel so drained during the day

my eyes feel so fucking tired. I almost have it half closed constantly like -_-

I don't get it, I eat great, with supplements (Centrum, creatine etc.) It's like a permanent tired status. Even after working out I don't feel any tired-er.

Not overweight, I could lose some weight but according to the BMI I am right where I should be. Either way I sleep sideways so it shouldn't constrict my airflow.

From what I gathered everyone is saying I should get on a normal sleep schedule and stick to it.

Feels the same except I don't take any drugs.
