You have lumbar hyperlordosis (monkey butt). Contributors are: weak abs, tight hip flexors, overstretched glutes.

Maybe you spend too long sitting in chairs like most people with chornic back pain nowadays.

learn to 'activate' your glutes, because, believe it or not, they are weak and relatively inactive due to some biomechanic issues that stem form your pelvis's anterior rotation.

Also, to hijack this a bit, my whole body is fucked up due to massive sitting all day every day.
I'm 26 and stopped doing regular workout at around 16.
Iwodner if I'll ever be able to get into at least...halfway normal shape.
I'm not crooked or anything but Igot a bit of a monkey butt, my hamstrings feel short, I can't swing my legs up very high (I used to be able to turn off lighs with a straight swing, now I can't even go beyond knee level without strain)
My shoulders are being sucked forward and my neck is bendy cause of that.
It feels fixable, but I have no idea how to start.
A full body workout perhaps...but there is no gym nearby and I cant afford moving...

But yeah...can I still dominate my tendons and muscles and all that?
I am not in pain usually.
Only when I stand / walk a lot I get lwoer back pain, and bending over forward feels as if my discs are crunching...so Iguess thats my monkeybutt...

Hm...
>> Anonymous
>>427043
lift some weights it'll sort you right out. I sit at a desk for 9 hours a day and used to get a lot of back problems, shoulder problems and repetative strain injury. It clears up in no time at all

A few postural problems there.

>Igot a bit of a monkey butt, my hamstrings feel short
Stretch your hamstrings. Stretch your hip flexors. Strengthen your glutes.

>My shoulders are being sucked forward and my neck is bendy cause of that.
Thoracic kyphosis. You need to strengthen your upper back.

You need to workout and strength with aim at correcting these problems or you'll just injure yourself in the end.

>>427059
>>427066
Thanks, especially !ErY2TknG0w, googled thoracic kyphosis and it seems spot on.
I'll get my posture to a near normal level before foscusing on a real, mass building/toning workout then.
I'm very very skinny, and I need the mass...
I'm about 6foot high and weight about 153pounds.
Yet I look fatty/goblinoid thanks to my posture...
Hm...

Contrary to popular belief, Different tribes have different genetic characteristics. They might be the same complexion. But their overall physical traits can differ greatly. Hell, I've seen africans who have what most consider "aryan features". (Ie, Smooth long nose, narrow face, thin lips, etc.)

Actually, I'm a black guy and I have a bubble butt but I've seen a shit ton of blacks who the flattest asses I've ever seen.

Correcting your posture is a matter of changing your habits. If adopting correct posture is difficult or impossible for you, stretches and strength exercises are going to be vital, but the most important thing is that you consciously align your bones the way they should be. Good posture is not something that just happens when you're physically able to assume it. It's something your practice until it's automatic.

Okay, so every site I read about this seems to agree that Lordosis can be corrected "easily" with stretches and stuff. But nobody seems to say how long this may take. Anybody have an idea? Weeks? Months? Years?
>> Anonymous
>>430693
Minutes*, although learning to hold good posture at all times may take a couple weeks (unless you're retarded). Squeeze your glutes. Feel where you are? That's good pelvis posture.

* Assuming you're not so fucked you can't even bend into a good position.
>> Butts !!lyLcZqPStDL
>>430712
I was under the impression that it's not just a matter of choosing to hold the correct posture, but your body re-adapting after years of sitting on your ass, so eventually you have correct posture naturally. So the body will adapt if you maintain correct posture, within a couple weeks?

i recommend everyone doing research on the Alexander Technique. Google it. it has helped me a ALOT with lower back and shoulder problems.
>> Anonymous
>>430693
I dealt with this posture ALOT when i was involved in the performance enhancement field, in fact, i have a degree of lordosis myself. you will find it quite often in lifters, football players, sprinters, strongman (see Phil P. w/out shirt…laughably bad) etc. it almost 'comes with the territory'.

how long to fix it?
how long, in terms of time, did it take to 'break it'?

thats a good estimation.

and regardless of what you do 'in the gym' thats only a few minutes out of 1440min per day, most of which are spent making the problem worse, now extrapolate over months, years, etc.

you got good advice so far on 'problem areas' and thankfully, you look manorexic, so its not like you have to work through the kind of hip flexor tightness of a competitive PL or a D1 back.

Now my question.
HAS ANYONE WHO HAS THIS DYSFUNCTION EVER SOUGHT PROFESSIONAL TREATMENT AND BEEN ‘CURED’? if so, details. Who did you see, for how long? How bad was your problem? And what modalities were utilized to address the problem?
>> Anonymous
Dude, it's hot. Leave it like it is. My BF has a butt like yours and I likes it.

>>426974
>> Anonymous
>>430958
what you cannot see because of bad pic is that the OP (and every1 else w/this problem) will have a pregnant man body on anything less than 10% and especially if you have abs, they expand towards your front. just visualize kimbo and all those other nigs w/this issue 'fat 6packs' you'd call them
>> Anonymous
>>430894
I can't say it will be completely adapted after that time. You may have months of stretching to do before your body is as if you never had poor posture. But except in the most severe cases, your body is not the limiting factor: your mind is. If you can physically maintain correct posture, you're 90% of the way there. The other 10% is getting into the habit. Correct posture isn't something that comes from the body. It's purely force of habit.

Will you feel weird at first? Do your abs have some tightening up to do, your glutes have to start doing their job? Absolutely. Stretches and exercises will do a lot to make you feel more comfortable with a new way of standing. But unless you are so distended that you can't assume good posture, it's something that you can fix up very fast. Make a point of fixing your posture each time it crosses your mind, and you will be in great shape.
>> Anonymous
While we're vaguely on the topic, what does /fit/ recommend for good posture? I correct when I think about it, but then I notice I'm slouching again.
>> Anonymous
>>431023
Also it's important to have "tricks" for pulling yourself into alignment. Stuff like squeezing your glutes for lordosis, doing "double chins", pulling back and down your shoulders, and sticking out your chest to correct rolled shoulders and a forward head.
>> Anonymous

ah but see, i'm not gay.

Also though, some good advice here, certainly wasn't expecting that i would have lordosis, or that bad posture. I guess you just kindof get warped into bad shape so slowly that you don't notice it. Good thing we found out now and can do asomething about it.
