What is the correct technical way to do pull ups?

Currently I'm doing them with my hands roughly shoulder width apart and the palms are facing towards me. Is this a correct way to do them?

What difference does other hand / palm position make when pulling yourself up?

I like them all. Close grip, wide grip, behind the head, palms out, palms in. They all seem to work slightly different muscles.

Only thing to worry about in terms of "correctness", is do a full movement, and do them slow.

OP, what's with the picture of the faggoty effeminate anime guy. Pic related or unrelated?

Chin ups (palms facing you) work your lats and biceps primarily, along with a good portion of the rest of your back. Should be done hands shoulder-width apart.

Pull ups (palms facing away) work your lats and middle back primarily, along with a good portion of the rest of your back. Should be done hands farther than shoulder-width to activate the lats best.

No reason. Not related.

So all this time I've been doing chin ups. Didn't expect that, I always thought that when doing chin ups, both palms should be touching.

Make sure you fully extend your arms when doing pull-ups. Annoys me when faggots don't straighten their arms.

Don't jerk them straight, though. Pull yourself quickly up, then go down slowly and CONTROLLED.
