Hay /fit/,I'm 5'10", weight ~185 pounds, and I'm ready to start getting into shape. At home all I've done is lift 35 pound dumbells (it's the heaviest I have) for about 50 reps before I get tired/bored. I don't run much because of exercise-induced asthma, but I'll ask the doctor for an inhaler next time I see him. Bought a new pair of tennis shoes today too.Either tomorrow or Wednesday I'm going to start going to the college gym. It's $45 for three sessions with a trainer a semester and a "fitness evaluation". Is this a good deal?Any other advice you can give for a guy about to start out?
Buy heavier weights or go to the gym 3 times a week, do Starting strength. Cut first bulk later.Don't neglect weight training.Do HIIT
>>307230Sorry, I'm not big on the terminology.Cut?HIIT?
>>307237cutting is basically having a ~500 total daily calorie deficiet, it'll amount to 1 pound lost each weekHIIT is high intensity interval training
>>307237You wont need the 2nd word since you cant do it.>>307230See:>>307224>>and I'm ready to start getting into shape.
>>307241How do I figure out my net calorie intake? Figuring out how much you eat should be easy, but how much you lose?
>>307245I've been ready for the last few months, and I've only waited until now because the semester doesn't start until tomorrow. 9/10 times what you said might be right, but I'm serious.
