/fit/ I have a question!

I am considering going into a military... specifically into either the navy (hoping for SEALs) or the FFL (hoping for 2nd REP)

any wisdom that you mis/fit/s care to impart regarding military service, PT, or anything else?

Many in the special forces community do crossfit as their main workouts.

If you really want to do Special Ops, you should talk to a recuiter and ask him about getting pipelined for SEAL training. I don't know how it works in the Navy, but in the AF, you will test a special PT test (while you are in basic military training) to gauge if you are physically competent to withstand the rigors of that training course. It will probably consist of pullups, pushups, situps, flutterkicks, a 3-5 mile run, and difficult swimming/diving shit.

That being said, Crossfit and HIIT are the things to train. Don't forget your long-distance runs (5-10k), and a lot of swimming.

Run a lot, don't worry about crossfit to be honest. Unless you have already built up the specific numbers in your tested exercises then it will probably distract you from your goal. Until you have the GPP to be able to perform hundreds of calisthenics, run for an extended period of time, go to school/work, and then do some weight training then just stick with the basics.

Doing some research would be a good place to start.
