what does /fit/ think of burpees? they seem very convenient; I don't need a gym or even that much space, really, to do them. and they tire me out pretty damn quickly, too. but when I started doing them daily for about a week my knees started aching, which is a bad thing, so I stopped. could burpees be considered a good substitute for running/biking/etc when those options are not available, or is it not sufficient/unsafe/something else undesirable?

uh yeah, I use burpees as a warm-up for both running and biking as well... do 'em whenever you feel like it.

Do a box-jump -> push-up -> Sit-up -> bodyweight squat combo and try to limit touching the ground to only your feet, hands and ass for the situp

burpees are one of the reasons why i never go to the gym anymore.

when you have useful exercises like burpees at your disposal, wtf do you need equipment for?

When I used to be into martial arts and shit, they would give us this thing called "countdowns" where you would do a series of excersizes doing ten of each and then you would start over again but you would do nine and then eight and so on and so forth. Some people would even start from 15 or 20.

Anyway, first you had to do push ups, then jumping jacks, then bicycle situps, after that I forget though...

anyway, it's a good way to get some cardio in when you can't run.
