Hey /fit/.

Recently I have been caring about my health because I have become pretty flabby. Since about 2 weeks ago I have been trying to more healthy because I used to drink 2 liters of pepsi a day and junk food every single day. Now, I dont drink any soda at all. My goal is to lose fat and get some abs and muscle too. I have no gym membership but maybe I will get one soon if you guys recommend it.
I am Male. 18 y/o. 5'9. 143 lbs.

This is what I have been doing so far:

I wake up and I try to do pull ups and then I do dumbbell exercises (M-W-F only, here's the routine I follow: http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0801/is_12_65/ai_n7581431) I only have a set of 20 lbs dumbbells.

After lifting dumbbells I go out and jog 1.5 mile everyday (slowly increasing distance but I am so out of shape that 1.5 mile is hard for me)

After running I eat breakfast, which is:
Oatmeal
1 Egg w/salt
Banana

You need to eat more and go to the gym and gain muscle. Then worry about cutting.

Why bulk? because you don't have abs they are far too small.

At your height/weight, you must have absolutely no muscle if you're flabby. Start walking an hour or two a day, only eat starchy carbs at breakfast and go join a gym. The YMCA is great, it's cheap and trainers there will give you an introduction to weight lifting for free.

Don't listen to that fat powerlifter. You definitely do not need to eat more... that's called sabotage. Making a rough guess at your level of LBM, BF%, height and weight, you should try to eat between 1600-1800 calories a day.

Your breakfast is great. Your next meals of the day should be mostly chicken breasts with vegetables. You can try what I do: Buy a whole bunch of those individual serving ramen packages, throw out the noodles and use the flavour packet on the vegetables. Mix in a bit of water and chopped chunks of chicken breasts, and you have a hearty low-carb, high protein, high-fiber stew. Add some cold-pressed sesame oil or coconut oil for some healthy fat as well.

The key is keeping your carbs low, and the meals small.

For most people (i.e. not elite athletes), eating meals over 500 calories will result in fat storage. Solution? Eat meals under 500 calories. This ensures it's all put to use rebuilding tissue, replenishing glycogen or burned as energy.

I've lost 60 pounds this way.
