sup /fit/,

I was 265+ lbs in mid October of last year, and as of today, I'm down to 206. Some people, like my father, claim this is a ridiculous amount of weight loss (considering the fact that I was a lazy fatass most of my life and hadn't really worked out and ate better until now) and not many people accomplish it. Thing is, I don't feel as good about it as I thought I would. Maybe it's because I want to lose more (my original goal was 200 but now I'm thinking about bringing it down to 180). BTW I'm about 5'7" and 20 years old.

I was under the impression that 10 pounds a month was average for a male around my age, and that's about my average right now. Also, I hear it gets harder to lose weight the thinner you get. What does /fit/ think?

I think 10 pounds / month is pretty much, especially for a few months in row. Good job!

If I converted the fucking imperial units right, your ideal weight would be something like 145 lbs. This should be your long term goal. Just do some exercise, so you have at least some muscle left, when you reach it.

From the sound of it, you're doing things just right. Just don't become a fucking bulimic.

You're dad is a miserable asshole, btw. He should be congratulating you, not planting nasty little seeds of negativity.

You people have no fucking clue. Why bother with your bodyweight? You say you're not satisfied because you have 3 KGs more than you planned? What the fuck, are you some kind of stupid woman? That is exactly why you don't feel good.

Basing your weight loss regime on body weight is about the dumbest thing a male person can do, and I won't even start counting the reasons. It's called weight loss just because, it is actually the transition from obesity to normality. Stop what you're doing right now, go outside and buy a mirror, plant it in your room, and throw the scale out of your window. Take shirt off, examine, judge. Anyone who even thinks that weight is most important in all this will always look like shit. Is that what you want to look like?

You idiot. He isn't satisfied because he can still lose another 20. He's making a new goal after having reached his first. Also he's 5'7 so seriously he's still clearly overweight.

Those are faggot goals and anyone who judges what a person looks like by his BMI is a stuppid americunt. OP /fit/ thinks you should put up a shirtless picture of your torso, and then /fit/ can start thinking something else.

145 lbs seems more like the ideal for a girl. A male specimen of his size, I would say at least 180 lbs with bodyfat around 10% would be ideal.

OP here

145? That seems a bit much... I was thinking around 180 like>>69910said. Possibly slightly lower, maybe 175ish.

Also, to everyone that says not to judge yourself based on body weight alone, I'm doing a little more than that. I'm going by clothing size as well. I'm almost down to a medium shirt size (not quite yet, maybe a few more pounds) and almost down to 32 pants size.

What would be the ideal size for a man who is around 5'9-5'11?
