I'm not sure if this is the right place.. Wounds do count as something that can affect health so here i go..

/fit/ Thursday I accidentally cut my self with a very sharp knife. I don't want to get into details as to how it happened because it's kinda humiliating. But while i examined it today, I noticed something. I can't feel a certain spot right next to the wound. Is this something common of wounds with severed nerves? Is it something I should be particularly concerned about or will this heal up?

Pictured is said cut and shown roughly where I can't feel.

you should get it back in time

dude. that is on your face. Take super good care of it so that scarring is minimal, unless you want a badass scar that reminds you that you fucked up and cut yourself.

oh and good job fucking up, winner

I don't know anything, but isn't vitamin E on it regularly supposed to help with things like that?

Unless you want a scar or something..

Op:

Is scarring all I should be worried about? Because I'm not really concerned about that. Scars don't bother me in the least. I just wanted to know if losing some feeling in a part of my forehead was permanent or not.

do you normally touch things with your forehead?! Who cares about if you cant feel it? You should care about having a big fucking line on your forehead that looks like you had a lobotomy

neosporin. Vitamin E internally will def help, but the oil on the cut will not allow it to breathe. neosporin

>do you normally touch things with your forehead?!
Not unless it calls for it.

>Who cares about if you cant feel it?
I do because I've never been cut this badly before.

dude you have to be kidding me. Worry about it getting infected and then really fucking you.

Keep it clean and all will be fine. let it heal. let it breathe. Use additional products/care to minimize scarring if you are so inclined.

the feeling should come back
>> RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGE
HOW THE FUCK DID YOU CUT YOUR FUCKING HEAD FUCKER?

I got a broken bottle shoved halfway through my right ring finger. The only sensation I can feel with that finger now is extreme pain. Doesn't bother me too much.
>> Anonymous
Yeah you've damaged a sensory nerve. The feeling may come back in time, it may not.

you really want to know; ask a doctor. That's what they're there for.

poor men can't afford doctors. That's why we have /fit/.
>> Anonymous
do you know how deep it was? I mean did it bleed a lot?

it may most likely be temporary. either way I would be more concerned on caring for the wound itself to minimize the risk of infection and to reduce the severity of scaring. if you've somehow damaged any nerves, theres nothing a doctor will be able to really do for you. ensure it doesn't get worse, and wait till it's healed.
