I guess you could ask your doctor, he may tell you about products like Propecia and how they would work to prevent hair loss. There is also some interesting work being done on rats or mice, where skin cells receive chemical signals to begin growing hair (so in the future it may be possible to grow hair in the middle of your forehead), but I lost the article link.

ahhh, I look into that, thanks

I too know the frustration of the sheer powerlessness to prevent hair loss. Hopefully there will be some system in place in the next 5 years, because this shit sucks dicks.

the thing is, I had been growing my hair out for awhile, and some started to fall out, it got scary, so I shaved it all off, still fine, but I dont want to live restrained like that, I definitely would get some treatment if I lost my hair, have you tired any?

not yet
I've got longish hair (approximately shoulder length) and there is some falling out after showers, but I've been taking colder showers, using different shampoo and basically being kinder on my hair and it seems to be slowing down from what it used to. Also, the hair is now smoother and stronger, so there isn't as much falling out while combing dry.

This is how you fight baldness.

cold showers huh? certain shampoo? do cold showers make a difference and what kinds of shampoos should I look for?

are you fat?

Fatness can lead to hairloss
>> Anonymous
>>94492
really? no, Im not fat, so that cant be it, I probably just put too much strain on it growing it too long, and pulling and playing around with it. BUt can fatness seriously lead to hair loss? Thats news to me. Ive heard strength training can do cause it a little, right?

well, I just take colder showers now because heat damages the hair itself. And the shampoo I use now is like, pantene pro-v, says 35% more volume, thin or damaged hair yadda yadda on the bottle, it's pretty awesome. However, these methods only help with the hair itself, and I don't think help the scalp retain hair.

Some good news, wiki says:
>About 25-100 telogen hairs are shed normally each day.

Fat blocks testosterone.

have you been overly stressed?

And it might just be genetics like people have said before. If your father isnt bald, ask your mother if her family had any baldness.

hmmm, so losing hair is normal to everyone, just more noticeable on guys with long hair, cuz its long? is that it or am I in denial?
Also, pantene Pro-V? Ill give that a whack, hmm and has anyone tried horse shampoo? I mentioned that I recently shaved my long hair, and my barber told me that if I wanted to grow it faster, to use horse shampoo, I didnt get any yet, so I dont know, but it sounds like its good for the scalp.

Take an anti-androgen.

things like this may skip a generation, my father has lots of hair but my grandfather on my mother's side has thinned and receded considerably. Lovely.

Some hair loss can be caused my lack of vitamins and minerals like biotin and zinc. The loss is reversible once you fix your diet.Same deal with stress causing hair loss, once you chill the fuck out the hair will come back.

I'm not fat, thank god. Stress, maybe(ironically because of the recent hair loss), but also a thinker, so yeah that might be a factor. Luckily, there is no baldness in either side of the family, not one bald uncle or grandfather, but one uncle who grew long curly afro like hair like me lost some, you know how the front stays, but the sides are lost, so you have a big widow's peak? So maybe its genetic to have your hair weaken from too much length, is that possible?

Tofu can prevent hair loss. Look it up.

biotin and zinc, sorry for sounding like a retard, but what kind of food would those be in?
>> Anonymous
you've prolly been losing the same amount of hair regardless of length. You just notice the hair when it's longer.

It must happen to women too, but with men the hair that falls out might not grow back.

I've also never heard of horse shampoo, although a friend of a friend of mine said once that there is no way to speed hair growth anywhere on your body. If it really does speed growth, I will definitely try it out.
