I saw a thread of this type some time ago, but it's now lost, so here's a new one. I've liked /fit/ since its beginning and have started exercise because of it.

I couldn't follow the six meals a day as prescribed by smart anons around, though. Like the thread poster some time ago, I have a difficulty of waking up early in the mornings, and that altogether destroys 6x of light meals in a day.

I also can't work out everyday, and I'm finding out that it's a lot cheaper to just buy food from different cafeterias than what my meager allowance would allow me in the purchase of healthy food.

I'm not fat, I just want to build myself up since I've lived a sedentary lifestyle for a long amount of time. I'm lucky I have a fast metabolism - got no bellies.

Two questions: will eating at 3x a day even be feasible? If so, what would be the preferred foods? What exercise or workout can be required? I'm glad I'm seeing results but I'd like solutions to this dilemma I'm facing.

taking melatonin can reset your sleep. it naturally occurs in the body. says on the bottle not take after 9 weeks. you need a few nights for it to work.

Try 4x a day rather than 3.. really just maximize it as much as possible. Since fat isn't an issue yes you should even be eating right before sleep.

Eating 6x/day versus 3x/day only makes a slight difference. If you're eating unhealthily, it's much more important to start eating right 3x a day than trying to change your habits to eating 6x a day.

The 6x/day thing is more of a tweak you apply once you're more intermediate, as it doesn't make much difference. If you don't have much cash, advice for you is do what I did; learn to cook. Every time you cook, cook for 6 meals and freeze the remainder so you can just microwave it. Make sammiches the night before to take to work. Eat oatmeal + 2% milk for breakfast. Eat sunflower seeds (cheap as shit and great macronutrient ratios).

Buy on-sale meat in bulk and freeze it, and on-sale shit like whole pasta and rice which don't need freezing.

Go to www.dpsnutrition.net, you can get great protein powder (10lbs) for only like $60 plus shipping, which will last over a month. I used to balk at the price of protein powders until I realised it's actually the cheapest way to get protein...
