the ideas of knees over toes is a myth/misconception.
they say that to prevent your heels from raising off the ground.
you basically want to stay as upright as possible, go as deep as possible, keep your heels on the ground, chest up, and lumbar arched.
stance width varies for skeletal structure, and you want your knees to be inline with your feet (ie not buckling)
