OP, what I noticed about my acne was that if I: 1) Have a normal sleep pattern, ie wake up and go to sleep everyday at the same time 2) Cut out all trans fat 3)Get your daily Vitamin D from sun exposure 4) Drink alcohol once in a while
Then it gets A LOT better.
Reasoning 1) Sleeping 8-9 hours didn't seem to matter as much as staying on schedule, even on weekends. I used to get 4 hours of sleep at night for 5 months for my work, always 12 am-4-am, but my skin was never clearer. 2) Trans fat is nasty, all the bad effects it has on your body. I think scientists got eating sugar mixed up with consuming transfat as the cause for pimples. 3) Daily sun exposure is key. Scientists in Israel discovered that a certain wavelength in sunlight actually kills the bacteria that forms under the skin that causes acne. They then created a machine/service called ClearLight that only uses that wavelength to treat your face. But don't be a sucker, you can just go outside for the same results. 4) I've heard stories that alcohol will also kill the bacteria on you face, but I'm not sure if its fact. But what I do notice is that when I go out drinking, my face is clearer (and paler) the next morning.
Hope this helps, I know acne is a real self-esteem killer.
