Hey /fit/,

I've been working out 5 days a week and running a mile every one of those days for a few weeks now, all the while I've been taking Creatine Monohydrate; I'm only taking the supplements for a couple of months then I'm stopping (I will expect some muscle decrease when I do this).

Yesterday I went out and bought some Whey protein, I figure since I mix/drink my creatine before and after workouts, I can mix a whey protein drink after (not before) as well, is this a good idea? Pic related, inb4 water muscle etc.

Enjoy heart failure in your fifties and liver fat ingress.

One last remark, I've also curved my diet and drink nothing but water now, and I've weighed myself every morning and noticed about a 5lbs gain in weight I'm assuming that's what I wanted and more.

Also, my bench max has gone up 25 lbs (was maxing out at 190 and now I'm at 215, I weigh 145lbs).

Whey Protein wouldn't do that to you, would it?

why wouldnt it!

you know the evils of RED MEAT!!!!! (DUR DUR DURRRR), which is like the baby of the family when compared to the terror that is POWDERED PROTEIN!

creatine and whey protein are the only supplements that do you good, without bad side effects (unless you abuse them).

Creatine and protein after a workout is best, as that's when the body is most efficient at taking up vitamins, minerals, and everything else.

All you need is 5g a day once you're loaded, the rest is bullshit made up by supplement companies to make you buy more.

Also it won't help with your jogging at all, just intra-rep recovery.

Taking in massive amount (100grams+) of protein daily is not good for you. It packs in fat around the heart and other internal organs, with the liver being the most susceptible to fat ingress (little 'strata' of fat penetrating it). You are incorrect about red meat; it is vital for a good diet (and for the vegans out there...ever wonder why we have incisors?).

>(and for the vegans out there...ever wonder why we have incisors?).

you really don't know shit, do you, lol.

I'm not a vegan whatever. But red meat is not vital. That's just silly.

The reason we have sharp front teeth is primarily to tear and eat meat. Animals such as sheep and cows who are herbivores have flat grinding teeth for plants.

>>418553
Meat is a vital part of a decent diet. I got carried away when I said red meat. But meat in general, hell yeah.

our incisors aren't sharp, and incisors are generally for herbivors, and generally aren't used for eating meat. eating meat is done by ripping with canines and chewing with molars.

If you can name one mineral/compound/vitamin that you can only get from meat, and not from veggies, I will believe you.

this thread is now about veganism

Incisors are for "cutting" relatively soft materials, like apples or corn.

Canines (and premolars) are for tearing meat and tough materials.

Molars are for grinding/destroying foods.

Humans can't digest cellulose, which is why you'll shit out corn if you don't chew it well enough. Cows and true herbivores graze on grasses and such, and their teeth are to break down or grind away tough cellulose. This is also why they regurgitate and chew their cud.

That said, I <3 meat and think vegans are dumbasses. But, I live and let live until they get militant.

Yes, you can get everything you get from meat from vegetables. But not in the same concentrations. Chicken is 30% protein by mass. To get your daily requirement of protein from veggies and nuts, you gotta eat a lot more by volume. Yes, I am aware you're going to name a lot of vegetables and beans and nuts that give you the amino balance required - but they all come at a much higher price than meat. (And a much higher price to the environment. Most of those vegetables you buy aren't grown locally. They need big polluting boats to transport them.) Vegetarianism has only become available to the masses and not just the rich elite over the past few decades due to reduced shipping costs and hence food prices. But still very much more expensive than meat.

tl;dr balanced diet > vegetarianism

explain how peanuts(also 30%) are more expensive than chicken

man peanuts are swish

Tofu is cheaper, has high quality protein, and doesn't need to be prepared.
But chicken does pwn it mmmm

Summary: Meat is better than vegetarianism, but nothing wrong with vegetarianism.

Read up on the *type* of protein/aminos you get from peanuts and from vegetables in general. Animal protein =/= plant protein.

Tofu is a complete high quality protein. Get off your high horse.
