Hey, /fit/.

I'm a fat bitch, a good 350 pounds.

Yeah, yeah, in b4 whale and harpoons, this is /fit/, not /b/.

I'm wondering...how much exercise do I start out with? What should I eat, and how many calories do I stay under?

I've lost 75 pounds from just not eating doritoes and shit, and I feel alot better, but I'm wondering where the hell to go now.

I'm a vegetarian, so that cuts out alot of options.

Pic related; It's me right about now.

Try jogging.

>>I've lost 75 pounds from just not eating doritoes and shit, and I feel alot better, but I'm wondering where the hell to go now.

If this works, persue it further.

Find a scale thing to figure out a safe amount of calories to drop off your daily meals, you don't wanna starve yourself

I dropped mayo and stopped drinking as much soda, and if I do it's usually a Diet soda

I try to use small cups and smaller bowls and stuff, it's a weird trick I think. You can fill the container full, and get a smaller portion, but your body/brain think you just downed a big whole thing and is more content. Dunno if it'll work for you.

I don't drive and instead walk and ride the bus everywhere

I once weighed 310 and now i'm down to 170 just from changing my diet and walking

I still lay around and play video games and eat the occasional pizza

Self-control is important here, and I think going with what your are comfortable with is too. Ultimately comfort was my goal and I realized trying to do a diet that doesn't fit me would be unrealistic.

bodyweight squatz. start NOW!!!! clock is ticking...

If that looks like you about now, stay there.

If you still want to, try this:

Eat Oatmeal in the morning
lots of nuts (walnuts, almonds), tofu, seeds (Sunflower, flax), beans (kidney beans, legumes)

bread, pasta etc for meals

don't come here and try to tell us what is and is not /fit/, fatty.

other than that, you could try phasing out starchy foods for a while. these usually invoke a high insulin response which is usually a contributing factor to obesity.

use fish oil to increase insulin sensitivity.

get most of your carbohydrates (if you're fat, i say all) from fruits and vegetables. this does not include potatoes.

2k-2.5k calories a day and get in as much walking as possible.

I keep myself at 5'8" and 125 with that regimen, so it should work even better on you, since your BMR is probably much higher than mine.

The thing is, at 350 lbs, your knees are suffering just from hauling you around place to place. Don't even think about jogging just yet. Long walks are where you start.

Now for diet, it's good that you've cut out the nasty shit like Doritos but I'm sure there are plenty more things you can eliminate or replace. Your number one enemy is refined sugars, the shit in candy bars and soda and a lot of other foods. Those refined sugars shock your body into over-producing insulin, which causes your body to store more fat. Eliminate every last bit of refined sugar if you can, especially High Fructose Corn Syrup (read those labels!) Sugar from fruits and whatnot is okay.

Even though you have a ton of weight to lose, be sure to lose it slowly. No crash dieting. I'm talking no more than 2-3 lbs. a week to start with. Once you get to 200, no more than 2 lbs. per week.

Look into the various ways of boosting your metabolism to make your body a furnace for burning calories.

Thank you VERY much! This thread has been very helpful to me, but yours most.

I don't eat too badly (lots of soy, vegetables, but no real fruit), but I do drink a fuckton of rootbeer.

Cut out the soda altogether outside of an occasional one here and there. Soda is bad shit.
>> Anonymous
you can do a lot just by walking. Work up to a mile, then work up to to and so forth. Get in as many walks in a week as humanly possible.
>> Anonymous
>>117343
If you can, try to cut out rootbeer.

I recommend if you can, start bicycling your weight won't stress your knees.
Also due to your weight, I recommend finding a pretty flat place and bicycling there for a while.
Because I imagine bicycling 350lbs of weight uphill would be hard.

not much against vegetarians, fattiness is another matter.

uuh. i would start swimming. at your size your joints should be shot to hell, so this way you do not completely obliterate them.
you'll have to swim with old people and shit basically.
i dont think you can perform any activity for an extended time(40+ mins) beyond that and get that fat burning, so you'll just have to eat them apples.

unless you wanna take up bodybuilding and keep them in rebuildal and burning fat for energy, but that might also put strain and cause injury to your body.

if you just do this shit, then you will get less cravings for sweet/fat stuff since you can burn some of that stuff you're carrying.

don't starve yourself. get to a level of activity even if you have to force yourself so you simply are able to eat what you like without cravings and needs.

failing everything, do atkins, but you'd have to get off being a veggie or do some real good research beforehand.
>> Anonymous
>>117343
So you claim to be a vegetarian and you dont eat fruit? WTF is wrong with you?

Seriously, you are probably the neurotic chick type that thinks that pizza is ok 3x a day if its vegetarian. The type that started it to get attention from daddy, but since that didnt work, you turned to DORITOS. Some fucking vegetarian you are.

Change your mindset, its where it all starts. Eat fruits and vegetables, and get out there. It took you years to get to where you are, so guess what? its gonna take years before you are normal again.

tl;dr: fatty needs to eat better.
>> Anonymous
>>117283
Pics please.
>> Anonymous
>>117283

Start by eating around 1,800 calories daily. Make sure you eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Eliminate eating at resaurants for now, and try to drink water exclusively, coffee in the mornings with splenda for a substitute sugar.

As for exercise, start slow. At that weight, you'll want to take good care of your joints and ligaments, especially for being a women. Go for long, brisk walks. Try to walk on uneven ground like gravel, and up/down hills and stairs. Also, a light stretch daily will work wonders, especially with consistency as you get slimmer.

Tofu is a fine choice for a vegetarian women, also egg whites if you will.

Take care, OP.

I became a vegetarian when I was 14 because I decided it would be better to not eat animals, and hey, since I was 14 at the time, I was too retarded to think about healthy eating. My mother didn't really look at what I was eating, so I just ate whatever didn't have meat in it.

I'll start eating fruit and balancing out my diet, but don't be a prick about it, Jesus.

Hi, op. Sorry everyone in this thread is treating you like shit. I hope they're all banned, this isn't the place for that kind of bullshit.

I think>>117290has the right idea, definitely. While it's prudent to start counting calories, you should get pretty far by just being smart. Don't drink soda, don't eat fried food of any sort. Eat smaller portions of food consistently spaced out throughout your day in smaller meals. Don't starve yourself, though, or else you'll relapse into eating shit food and you'll binge on it. Frequent, regularly scheduled, but small meals is key.

Also, get out and walk. Walk, walk, walk. If you're 350 pounds I imagine you're pretty stagnant. If you start moving the weight will melt off you for a while.

Don't get discouraged over plateaus, too. Find ways to keep yourself motivated. Maybe post pictures here every couple of days along with progress reports? The people who are acting like dicks are kind of exceptional. Normally people in this board seem supportive.

I can't really give you a lot of help with specific foods to eat and calorie counts, as that's not something I know a lot about Maybe someone else will chime in. Failing that, you can probably come up with some good information with a bit of Googling.

I hope this helps a little bit, at least. 75 pounds is a lot to have lost already, keep it up!
>> Anonymous
Cutting down carbs and fat and calories as low as you possibly can stand will help you a lot. Keep yourself full of stuff that doesn't contain these things.

Also, start taking multivitamins to help your body cope with the metabolic changes it's going through.
>> Anonymous
first rule with trolls: don't feed them

second: excercise daily: if you starve yourself, your brain goes into "emergency" mode which is hard to keep up for a long period of time. Thats why IMHO most diets fail.

And get a blood check: especially girls have problems to maintain their Iron level in the blood if the are vegetarians because of the monthly cycle. No Iron means lower energy level.

drink a pint (half a litre?) of water before every meal and try and balance every meal you do eat with about half an hour of exercise at least

if you aren't too self-conscious, swimming is without a doubt the best (fat people float better too)
