hey /fit/

how fast should the average person be able to shed 10 pounds? and how? i know diet and exercise, obviously.. but is there anything specific?

5 weeks, if you're doing it right. Find out your BMR (google it), add in the amount of calories you burn, and subtract 1000 to find out the amount of calories you should be eating every day. Calories in minus calories out equals weight loss, that's all there is to it.

2 pounds a week is generally the quickest you can go in a healthy, controlled way. (And healthy and controlled is good, unless you're looking forward to eventually ballooning back to size.)

Losing weight slowly is so so so much better than losing weight quickly. The quicker you lose weight, the quicker you put it right back on.

Actually it's very easy to lose 10 pounds when you ARE a huge fatty. All the fat guys at my work can do it without even trying. 10lbs to them is barely 2% of their total body weight.

Yet guys my weight (170lbs 13% body fat) struggle for every pound.

Then you're either starving yourself or you're a noob and that's all water weight. Either way, you're going to put back that weight very very soon.

10 pounds a week is a 5000 calorie a day deficit. You're not fucking doing that.

if you do HIIT every day you could lose lots of water weight quickly
