what are some excercises that i can do to work on my abs, other than crunchs and situps?

Do planks. Leg lifts. Use a pullup bar to do leg raises. Anything that requires you to use your abdomen's stabilizer muscles helps a little, i.e. running, swimming.

Also if you are fat eat less and go running or you won't even see them.

Bicycle crunches. They are a little different than normal crunches, but extremely effective.
