Sup /fit/.

Chubber here looking for tips to burn off some fat. I started taking prozac a few months ago and have packed on the pounds since. Currently 5'11 and 215 lb's. I'm powerwalking for as long as i can every day for about 20 minutes in hilly terrain, and my diet is low in fats and salts, and i dont drink soft drink, but im still not losing weight. I'm hoping to change to another SSRI soon, so the prozac bloating shouldnt be a problem for much longer, but i still need to lose this weight! help!

I doubt i'd be gaining muscle from just walking at a decent pace. I mean, as far as excercise goes, it's a cop out to ignorance, simply because i don't know anything better.

Must suck to take SSRIs. They help you stop crying yourself to sleep, but you end up feeling numb, fat, and you can't have orgasms.

Lots of bread... maybe 5 or 6 slices a day (im not sure that qualifies as lots though...).

Also eat pasta probably once a week. Often have oriental food for lunch when at Uni, so a few serves of rice or noodles a week on top of the bread.

It's not that bad. They haven't effected my libido, and since increasing my dosage recently i've been very productive and actually felt somewhat good. But looking and feeling fat, and sweating excessively because of it (both being fat and hyperthyroidism from the SSRI's), are really bringing that down. Thats why i want to improve while i still feel some level of drive.

some studies claim that to burn fats, cardio exercise must exceed 30mins at one go. anything less will burn only what was recently eaten.

no sauce. was from some magazines.

Have you gained more weight since your doctor increased the dose?

Yeah, almost 10 pounds in about a month. The prozac is causing a major problem there, so i'm going to press hard to change to something else.

yeah there are other ssris that cause weight gain to a lesser extent. i believe lexapro is one of them, but it is expensive because its brand name only.

Fatty update /fit/.

Saw psychiatrist today. Mentioned gaining 20 pounds since starting prozac, at which point she 'lol whut'ted, and put me on lexapro.

Hopefully my excercise will no longer be futile.
