I WOULD LIKE TO TRY OUT THIS OLYPTICAL MACHINE, IT SEEMS TO BE THE EPITOME OF BODYBUILDING NECESSITIES.

The only reason you'd need to be in any athletic shape when you enter the USAF is if you intend to be a Combat Controller or Pararescue jumper.

Of course, no one will hold it against you if you lose weight but there isn't a desperate need to be athletic in the USAF.

i'm going into the air force too (well, air national guard) and as far as i can tell ,you need to be in minimal good shape, and you'll be in the shape they expect you to be in by the end of basic training anyways. especially if you go after october this year, when it changes from 6 weeks to 8 weeks

Marine reservist here.
My thoughts: RUN.
RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN.

That is the #1 single piece of advice I'd offer anyone going into the military. Do the other stuff too -- the situps/pullups/pushups/etc. -- but those will come easy if you have fantastic cardio.
