/fit/ I want to become skilled at the pull-ups, but I can barely do three right now. Can anon suggest exercises to build up the old lats? I have been doing pulldowns (wide grip, behind and in front of my head), but they don't seem to be helping yet.

This is merely a time issue, Do Lat-pulldowns, and just pullups relatively as often as you can while still compensating for any fatigue. Went from 12-62+ in around 2 years of not really focusing on it. G'luck

Do as many pullups as you can during your hour workout, doesn't matter if you only get one rep per set.

At the end you can do some negatives.

If you want to be good at pull-ups, do lots of them

You need more stabilizers to do a pullup than a lat pulldown, so if you want to be good at pullups (and have a more balanced musculature), do pullups instead of pulldowns

Thanks, this looks interesting. I am looking at the one-legged squats section, and it warns you be careful not to wrench your knee (duh). However, I don't understand the safety precaution it gives: "Don’t let it bow in or extend forward too much." I hurt my knee badly once doing leg extensions, and had more minor injuries twice doing, oddly enough, one-legged squats, so I haven't tried them for years. I always figured I had weak knees. But now that I find out there is a proper technique, I would like someone to explain that to me so I can try again.

tl;dr what's the proper knee positioning for one-legged squats?
