How long should I wait between doing sets of reps? I'm working on my arms with a simple 22lb dumbell, i've been doing 25-30 reps at a time, just want to know how long i should be waiting between sets.

Is pic you? If so good job on using more weight than most women ever touch.

If you're doing that many reps per set I'd say it's time to get heavier dumbells.

work on your arms with pullups and dips instead.

What's a dip? I definately cannot do pull ups any time soon.

pushing yourself up with your arms w/ your torso vertical. There are a lot of variations, look it up.

Do you have access to any other weights?

Also, you can cheat on pullups by supporting part of your weight with your legs, or jumping up to the bar. The reason they're so much better than curls is that you are using your large back muscles in addition to your tiny arm ones.

I usually wait 1 minute between sets.
Supposedly if you want to build muscle mass the less you wait, the better, so I guess it depends on your goals too.

Do three sets of ten reps with thirty seconds of rest between sets. When you can do that, add five to ten percent more weight. It is important to steadily increase the weight.

i have heard the opposite with 5 - 6 minutes being a good time

Is it better to do, for example:

1 set of push ups
1 set of chin ups
1 set of stomach crunches

Repeat x3

OR
3 sets of push ups
3 sets of chin ups
3 sets of stomach crunches

?

I've had great success with 3 minute waits. I watch a lot of boxing, a set or two after every round, then watch the next 3 minute round, a minute for another two sets etc.
That's like 12 sets of pushups too

depends on your work out ... if your doing drop sets or super sets or if your working to build mass / definition
if your building mass weight 45 seconds minumum between sets , for definition/tone wait 1min and about 30seconds

a good workout for a weight/definition combo that will show good results in 3weeks to a month (assuming you eat your body weight in grams of protein daily) is this

first set - 15 reps up the weight a little
second set-12 reps up the wieght a bit more
third set 10 reps - up the wieght or stay the same
fourth set - stay the same
fifth set(optional)- go back to whatever weight you where using at your second set but slow down your reps allowing your muscles to fatigue .. then wait about 5-10 minutes before excersing that muscle group again

if you can do 30 reps, the weight isn't high enough
