Howdy /fit/ slackerfag here. I need some help.

Since I started college (and got a dedicated internets) I spend all my time in front of the computer (on 4chan) Over the last few months since christmas I have gain more weight than Im comfortable with. I was never a skinny person, always broad. Im 5'6"/7", not really sure which, and I weigh 182lbs (I think my conversion is right) which is about 42 lbs over my target weight. Does /fit/ ahve any advice on good cardiovascular exercises I can do In my room? I cannot run for extended periods, because of a joint problem in my right knee. I am willing to work hard because I would like to see at least minor results quickly.

Lift weight to build muscle to burn calories while you sit on your ass in front of the comp.

Also get a stationary bike, or do Tae-bo, aerobics, Pilates workouts or whatever you want. Just do something to keep your heartrate up for 30 minutes or so 3 days a week or more.

Also eat healthy, and don't eat a lot at night. Big breakfast, medium lunch, small dinner.

Get a gym membership. Your school should have a gym (it might even be free if it was included in your tuition), and if not go to one near your home. The elliptical trainer is a good cardio choice and has no impact on your joints.
