Gyms are stupid, i have worked out using this poster with floor and a pair of running shoes being my only equipment and now look pretty sweet and much stronger than when i used weights

Do you guys have any similar posters, army fitness ones would be awesome

You look better doing that workout than you did with weights?

I agree that gyms are dumb.

Look at what motherfucking body weight exercises can get you.

You sir, are an idiot. They lift weights as well.

That man is 14" tall. If he wasn't a gymnast he'd be getting mashed on top of Barbie by a toddler.

>much stronger than when i used weights

Protip: You were lifting weights wrong.
>> Anonymous
/fit/ is so fucking retarded.

DUR HURR HURR. When was the last time the "LIFT WEIGHTS" club did a real bodyweight routine for any period of time? Never.

Bodyweight can get you just as ripped as weights. Stop being so retarded. Go do a bodyweight routine for 6 weeks and come back and then complain
>> Anonymous
>>304142

Gymnastics bodyweight routines are on another level then simple calisthetics. It takes years of dedication to be able to do a few exercises that they do.
>> Anonymous
>>304146
And weights are somehow an elite skill that anyone can pull off? It takes years of dedication to squat 2x-3x your bodyweight. How do you do it? You life weights.

It takes years to do the bodyweight exercises of a gymnist. How do you start? You do do calisthenics of incremental difficulty.

Your logic is as retarded as your post. Go home, son.
>> Anonymous
>>304152

I've squatted 2x my bodyweight within 3 months, but yea, you're real smart so we should listen to you. Faggot. There's no way to train like a gymnast without all their specialized coaching, support, and equipment. Weightlifting is infinitely more accessible and produces results for the general population at a quicker rate than simple calisthetics. Get off your soap box, drama queen.

The person in the poster is a female, that photo makes it look a little budget and retarded, looks a little better animated.

Nz army jumped on the whole lara croft bandwagon a few years back and developed a series of animated ads using the character.

The thing about strength, when i was a gym person, instructors always used me as an example of good technique, but i was always bulky and slow, i lift the same ammounts now but my endurance is way better and i am 18 kg lighter....

A chair and your body are more accessible then weights and a gym, this is undisputable. Even poor people own chairs, tables or know of a park bench nearby.

The gains from weight lifting are easily reproducable with body weighr excercises. A standard pushups evolves into a pushup with your feet on a chair. Then a table. You start to use only one leg, and eventually move on to one arm. You work towards handstands.

The point of the matter is that in this case, you're using your arms more and more directly to lift your bodyweight. Which is much like adding more and more weight in lifting.

I'm not sure how you need an advanced couch and routine for this, or how it's not just as accessible and easy as the gym. Or how you wouldn't see gains.
>> Anonymous
>>304180

That's not gymnastics. That's gay little calisthetics where people think doing 1000 push-ups and building up to a handstand will get you fucking strong and ripped like a Paul Hamm. Gymnastics is tumbling, rings, still bars, pommel horse, and vaulting, and god knows how else they train. And currently, there are only two options to train like a gymnast: 1) get a coach, 2) wait for Coach Sommer's comprehensive, detailed book.
>> Anonymous
>>304197
That wasn't a thousand pushups to do a hand stand, if you read the post, you'd have seen it was a progression of increasing difficulty.

Pullups are similiar. You start with the basic pullup, the move on to more challenging grips. Then you start towards one armed pulls or chin ups, which is one arm close and the other further away. You increase this distance until you're as wide as you can go.

It seems to me like you're grasping at straws to prove you're right, when you've offered no evidence. Some people train for results, not just hypertrophy, though bodyweight can be used for hyper trophy as well.
>> Anonymous
>>304200

Sadly, you're the one who still doesn't get it. Calisthetics, no matter how many one armed push-ups you can do, is not the same as proper gymnastics training. It's a complete fantasy to hold yourself in the same league as them when you're only working basic push-variations. You can even work on all the planche and front lever progressions you want, you're still not going to look like the male gymnast picture that you so arrogantly posted.
>> Anonymous
>>304204
I'm not OP. And I'm not talking about having a gymnists body. I'm saying that calisthenics are just as effective as weights.
>> Anonymous
>>304205

And you need to shut the fuck up. Calisthetics are effective up to a point, where you either need to start weightlifting to increase the load or start advanced bodyweight training. You (or another of you dumb little fuckers) posted a picture of gymnast talking like all bodyweight exercises are created equal and you're all going to look like an Olympic gymnast if you start doing pushups, when I clearly demonstrated that they are not.

Op here, i havent posted as anything but steve in this. So no one has posters? I just view weights based training as extremely artatificial, some dumbells are good but the results that can be achieved with nothing but your body are what lots of people are after from their workout.

So no posters? Posters? Surely marines or us army have some posters for their soldiers.

Endless endurance-building exercises do just that. They aren't the same a progressively increasing the weight a muscle lifts. It's neurophysiologically and chemically different.

Get a real manual labor job sometime and see if all your pushups and pullups help you carry bags of concrete or bundles of pipe or if you wish you'd been squatting and deadlifting instead.

Furthermore, cocks.
>> Anonymous
calisthenics have a PLACE in training as do weights and cardio/conditioning. If you only do one you will not be as strong as you can be while gaining new skills (eg one armed pushups, handstand pushups, pistols)and balance. If you don't do running your mile times will be subpar. If you don't swim your technique will probably be poor. etc. I like the idea of mixing the phiilosiphy of crossfitfags with stronglifts
>> Anonymous
There's alot of confusion here as to the difference between muscle growth for the ripped look and strength gains.

Im hungry /fit/ but I also want to use the toilet!

Can you have a dump and eat at the same time?

Would it be good for you?
>> Anonymous
>>304404

Yeah, there sure is. One exists and one doesn't. Muscles grow when they get stronger. The ripped look has to do with subcutaneous and interstitial fat covering the muscles. Muscles grow, shrink, or stay the same. Fat does a similar thing. Learn 2 biology.

alot of people would benefit from doing pushups with rings and dips or just simple core exercises.

Physiologically there's nothing wrong with this, but if you can handle the disgusting act of having to smell your shit while eating... go for it. I mention this because I know one fat motherfucker who eats full dinners on a tray while taking a long shit (shitting out the shitty food he constantly shovels, giving him perpetual loose stool).

Yea, Coach Sommer has been saying his book will be coming out shortly for about 5 years, but on his website he says everything is written he's just waiting on the publisher. I hope it will be out within the next few months, it sounds like its going to be so amazing.
