The running shoes I bought were for track competition so they weren't very practical for walking. Does that help?

well yeah. but how so exactly? was it the design of the sole? the thickness? ventilation? what was the critical factor?

Walking 'round town/spitting game with the bitches = air force 1s/vans slip ons/chuck taylors

every form of exercise except lifting = nike cross trainers

lifting = chuck taylors

I made the decision for you faggot. Go buy shoes.

Pretty much agreed.

Just for chilling - Chuck Taylors or whatever looks good on you.

For exercising - Any athletic sneaker that says "Cross-Training" on it, basically. Means its just a balanced athletic shoe.

I wore K-Swiss tennis shoes for general exercising forever (was on the tennis team, required to have them). Wore some K-Swiss trainers for a long time. Currently wearing Nike something or others. Not sure, bought them like a year ago just for gym use. Probably just a Cross-Trainer.

Well, no shit. Those are spikes. You're only supposed to wear those when race, and only when you race.

"Running shoes" are often pretty thin, very flexible, and heavily vented. They don't hold up well to casual every day use.

A lot of "running shoes" are just athletic sneakers. There is a lot of marketing. Just buy a comfortable pair of athletic sneakers. Don't buy anything that looks really specialized or says "Track" on it. You'll be fine.
