So what does /fit/ think about yoga? I've been keeping up with running regularly and weights 3x per week while improving my diet, have dropped 30lb and noticed great improvements in strength and stamina. However, every morning I wake up incredibly stiff and puffy feeling, I was thinking a 10 or 15 minute routine every morning might help me get going. I'm looking at yoga, since it would hopefully include my stretching while also warming up the muscles.

Anyone on here have experience with yoga? Anything specific I should definitely do or avoid? Or does anyone else have a good morning routine I might try anyway?

Never even looked into it, as far as i know it involves stretching so its only use is for getting your legs behind your head in the bedroom. If your trying to lose fat, change your "running" to HIIT sessions.

i think any sort of exercise you would do in the morning would help you wake up and feel less stiff/drowsy in the morning. maybe some calisthenics/bodyweight exercises at a medium-fast tempo? a bit of yoga would probably be fine too.

With any kind of exercise, stretching is essential. The thing about yoga is, with its variety of postures, you stretch muscles you might otherwise miss doing regular stretching. There are postures that work muscles you normally don't use while lifting/running/etc., and likewise there are postures that improve balance and coordination.

I try and get in 1.5 hours of yoga per day, divided into set for strength, balance, and relaxation. Since I've started yoga, I've had more energy and feel all-around wellness.

Also, since this is 4chan: if you do yoga right, you'll reach a point where you can auto-fellate yourself.

OP here

Sounds fucking great (especially teh autofellatio)

Could you post rundowns of what you do in each session? Or anything else more specific so I know what works technically?
