Ketogenesis occurs when you're not getting the same amount of energy that you are used to from food (mainly carbohydrates), so the body is dipping into its stored reserves, which is body fat. Body fat is unused calories.
To answer your question, yes, you'll probably be burning the same amount of calories as pre-ketogenic diet. The body usually likes to maintain homeostasis at all times. Unless you do something to alter that balance, such as increased physical effort or the introduction of thermogenic foods, your calorie expenditure will probably be the same.
