Sup, /fit/?

I was wondering what exercises fit recommends for weight loss. I'm 6' 3" 221lb, pretty flabby. Currently I'm running 2.4 mi/night in about 22 minutes give or take a minute relatively consistently. I've put myself onto an 1800 cal/day diet.

I'm looking to add additional resistance training/lifting into the mix and was wondering what /fit/ recommends in terms of the type of exercise. Should I focus on the core, upper body, or what? Any help/additional reading would be helpful.

In b4 HITT, I prefer distance to sprinting and have enough time to do it.

Pic related, bought 'em a couple of days ago to replace my Aasics, they're nice and balanced, great arch support. $140 but I intend to get my money's worth out of 'em.

i fucking hate shoes and podiatrists, i bought 500 dollar inserts for my shoes because they said i had a extremely high arch and it was fucking up my toes. I wore that gay shit for 5 months and my foot was hurting till the last day i threw them away. got me some vibram fivefingers and pretty much wanted to burn down the clinic after that.

anyways i just wanted to say that story since you posted shoes

Since people can't get over the shoes aspect:

TL;DR Which strength training exercises are best at maximizing fat loss? Also, I'm already doing cardio.

Strenght training = training strength.
For fat loss. cardio and healthy diet.
with strength training you'll actually put on some weight (muscle mass)

strength training=/=fat loss

Doesn't adding muscle mass increase base metabolism aiding in fatloss? My end goal here is to end up reasonably built, not as a scrawny fuck.

Cycling is the best cardio exercise. You can do 3+ hours a day and be ready for another 3 later the same day. This is only possible because it's a non-impact sport and your body is mostly supported by the bike.

Buy an actual racing bike, not an exercise bike. 3hoursx2 per day flys by on a real bike but I get bored as a mother fuck on anything stationary (minus rollers but they are piss shit for cycling.)

So yeah, cycling is the best unless your a super-nig who can get golds and world records in 100m and 200m sprints.

I've owned 2 bikes since I've been at college and both of 'em have been stolen, so no thanks. Besides I just like running more.
