Running and Squats?

Why are these the most talked about things on /fit/?
Is it because /b/ is trying to get folks out to see the rest of the 4chan world?

running- should not be done unless you are fit... not run to get fit -great way to injure yourself.

squats- they are about the answer to everything like /b/ is. sure they do great things for the legs, work the core and good for stabilizers but they cannot give you triceps or forearms.

I already know the answer, it trolls. has /fit/ always been like this. can anyone give me a good forum to go to that will also allow fun?

Because everyone tries to avoid them and they shouldn't.

You need to do squats to stimulate muscle growth.
Running is probably the easiest way to get in some cardio or HIIT

really? so why is swimming never talked about? homophobia? swimming is better for your joints and lungs and is great all around exercise.

so explain to a dumb ass how squats help build muscles in your triceps and fore arms?

"Resistance training in general, increases testosterone and growth hormone, during and immediately after post excercise. It has been shown in many studies, including a published study Int J Sports Med. 1991 Apr;12(2):228-35 done on both men and women during resistance excercise. Squats and deadlifts increase GH and Testosterone, more than other compound excercises during excercise."

never mind the text but are you telling me this guys best option is to run??? please say yes so I can know for sure you are idiots.

thanks

Actually, you're just not hearing what you want to hear. Running is important. As for squats, who the hell only does squats? It's part of a complete regiment, and just so happens to be the most effective at legs.

Sorry, fitness isn't for you, no matter what forum you go to.

Oh, wait, here's a forum that'll fit you:

go up to the page, and click on /ck/. You'll meet new fatasses.

No, he should probably walk until he gets to a point where he can run without killing himself.

Its not always that running is the best option is just always the cheapest. You can recommend it to anyone. You don't need a gym membership, access to a pool, an instructor, or some dvd to run. All you need is to go outside, pick a direction, and go.

obviously you are not an idiot. thanks for the link... have not read it totally but looks like a better (and actually informative answer) than the normal "SQUATZ"

homophobia - seems the mentalitly most times so I thought I would through that out.

>>because not everyone has access to a pool
I think many people here are in the USA and I know in USA and Canada there are community pools and public pools. Everyone talks about going to the gym which is much more money than the pool.

btw thanks for some intelligent and complete answers.

this is the typical dipshit I am talking about.
you have no clue as to who I am or what type of workout I do... I have only eluded to why such ignorance and trolling on /fit/.
I enjoy /b/ almost everyday and seems silly not to come to /fit/ IF the forum is worthwhile.
You sir are not contributing a damn thing.

this guy makes this forum worth my time.

and to your last, with only a few seconds of typing you have made very valid points. I just get tired of people saying to everyone to run (ok more tired they do not give the fat asses who ask other better options to get there first).

If the image wasn't a giveaway that the OP was trolling, then this definitely was.

huh? is this a troll???

anyways, i mean fat people don't have to fucking start off sprint, walking and a brisk jog is also good, we just use runner as a general term.

OP here. I posted all these. If I were to try trolling I would have tried /b/ where the lulz are and the kings of trolls.
All I wanted to know is IF /fit/ was worth a shit and why these 2 are always said.... but never ever has an explanation been given until now.

I got what I wanted and feel I can ignore the idiots and trolls here, read between the lines and get something from /fit/.
The image was the best I found about trolling and I honestly figured that is what /fit/ was about just like /b/.
I could honestly count over 9000 times when someone asks how to build triceps the simple and trolling answer of "SQUATZ" is given.

I am done with this thread now and will not bother reply again unless the other intelligent guy replies again.

I thought the best way to lose weight when very overweight was to swiim. Actual swimming, not wading in the water. Then there's walking and biking.
>> Anonymous
but but... squatz will help build triceps!?

OP, swimming is fantastic exercise. if you have access to a pool, then swim for fucks sake, nobody is stopping you. also, squats are great, but you need other full body movement resistance exercises to develop a useful and attractive physique.

unfortunately, no matter how much you lurk you may not be able to piece this info together from /fit/.

you should always do your own research and remember that /fit/ is not your personal trainer. and

you sound pretty sensitive, ie unable to take any mild level of derision or sarcastic mocking. remember, this is 4chan.
