When I lift weights does it matter how long I do it for?
What I usually do is 5x5 or 3x10 or similar reps till failure, doing compound excercises such as weighted push ups or chinups. Usually this takes very little time, less than 10 minutes in many cases. Is it neccersary to workout for longer, or will this do?
My aim from this is to gain muscle mass.

10 minutes?

You should(arguable)/could be taking like a minute of rest between reps, I don't see how that's possible.

Also testosterone after an hour of working out starts to go down, so somewhere between 45 minutes and an hour and 15 minutes is "optimal"

Try working out more of your body at once instead of just your arms (assuming)

10 minutes? That's what I need from I enter the door until i start warming up.. I usually spend 2-3 hours at the gym depending on the program. I need a lot of rest between heavy sets...
