Well, I figured since this is also the health board, this'd be the place to check. Now, I recently heard some people arguing where I work [teenage girls at a Best Buy] and what they were arguing about intrigued me:

How often should one wash and condition their hair? Every other day? Alternate days? Every 2 for shampoo and every 3 for conditioner? My hair is thick, medium length and straight [no curls to worry about]. Anyone know the final line?

I don't think you can condition too much.

If your hair starts getting dry or damaged put a load of olive oil in your hair (root to tip), leave it in for half an hour then wash out.

Wut maybe. But olive oil is a great moisturiser. Works wonders on hair.

I'm a female and I wash my hair every other day, if I do it every day my hair will get too dry, and I rarely use conditioner, once a week at the most because If I use it too much then my hair gets too oily. I have super thick long straight hair, also just remembered depending on what day I go to the gym or go mountain biking sometimes I do end up taking a shower every day.

have curly hair that is very fine, but very thick. wash every 2 or 3 days and condition every day. you can never condition too much as long; as long as you wash your hair regularly it won't get greasy.
