Alright /fit/, I did something I saw on this board. I am now eating five small meals a day instead of three large ones. I am also doing cardio (running 2miles) five days a week. I do 5 sets of 30 pushups 5 days a week and 4 sets of 50 10lbs bicep curls 4 days a week. Will my metabolism speed up due to the five meals thing and excercise? I am also attempting to drink more water and make sure I eat more fruit...oh yeah and I haver started drinking 2% milk again. About 168lbs at the moment....how soon until I drop some weight or start seeing some results?

How much should I curl at once...I was doing 10lbs 4 sets of 100 but ever since last week I hit 50 and my muscles tighten and get stuck in one position. It takes me a few seconds for me to even get them to move after that.

I'm trying to get cut, not buff. I'm slimming down first...that's the step I'm at right now sliming. Next is cutting and sculpting, but I'm not there as yet.

I'm female too, it took almost 2 months for me to start seeing some real change because I built up a lot of muscle. I went from 164 to 141, still trying to get thinner, though I'm afraid to bulk up too much from the exercise.

Unrelated question, how can I continue exercising giving my max and go lean instead of bulk up?

I'm going to assume you're a girl, so 20 or 25 pounds would be a fairly typical number.

As far as reps go, a basic rule to go by is: If you can do the movement more than 12 or so times, you aren't using enough weight. You should become physically unable to finish a rep around the 10th one.

Your standards are somewhat anorectic. The amount of "bulking up" you've done isn't propably even noticable unless you were really skinny. At the point where you are now, no one can even notice you've done some lifting. Also, fat doesn't hide muscle, actually it makes your muscles seem bigger than they are by adding more size, ie. ripped doesn't mean big.
