How does this make sense?
I usually hovered around 134lb with my non-athletic, 1400+ calories a day lifestyle. Now that I'm eating 1000- calories a day and running in the mornings, I'm hovering around 136lb? Shouldn't I be losing weight?

Gained muscle?

Could be this, but I doubt it.

I'm definitely not starving myself. I'm just cutting back on all the high-calorie foods I usually ate (things smothered in cheese/sauce/icing) and cutting down portion size.

How would I deal with water retention?

It's usually a sodium issue, but water retention may not be the problem.

The body does some funky things if you're trying to burn way more calories than you're taking in.

>How would I deal with water retention?
DON'T

weight is overrated. cutting bodyfat is more important.
unless you're cutting for weigh-ins(boxing, wrestling, horseracing(lol)) DO NOT fuck with your water weight. your body knows how much it needs.

Two pounds?
Really?
A /fit/ post for two pounds?
Get out.

Must be a troll

Unless you are a girl and you weigh 80 pounds, 1000 calories a day is starving. Stop making excuses, because it just is.

Not always.

I'm not OP but.

I could sustain myself on 3 sandwiches a day. about 350 calories each. Then water. Some people have small appetites.

GENETICALLY SUPERIOR.

I am the same. The shitty comment above was a reference to how we would survive better in the wild then others.

OP as many have probally already said your just retaining water. you body gains "water weight" throughout the day so you may be slightly showing 6 pack in the morning but only a visible 2 pack in the afternoon/evening. this is becuase your body retains water. it is best to weigh yourself early in the morning like right after you wake up

youre starving yourself and your body knows it so its storing fat so you dont die.

i follow a pretty strict diet and i still eat three times as many calories as you apparently do

>Some people have small appetites.

There are WAY too many factors that go in to determining someone's appetite for it to be a good, reliable indicator of how much food you really need.

>The shitty comment above was a reference to how we would survive better in the wild then others.

Too bad this isn't /survivinginthewilderness/. If you have a 1000 calorie/day diet you are not healthy, and you are most certainly not fit.

I'm pretty sure (save for people with an illness) if you get full, that's all the food you need to sustain. Sure, you would look way better if you ate more but I don't think many people are going to eat until they feel sick every day if their appetite is small, just to look in the mirror.

Hence, we have skinny guys.

I know plenty of people who never, ever eat breakfast because they say they are not hungry at all in the morning. Breakfast is THE most important meal of the day and skipping it only does your health and fitness harm.

I feel sick if i eat breakfast. I dont get hungry again until 2-3PM. Feel full and nauseous all day.

Don't know why.

Do you eat late at night, before going to bed?
>> Anonymous
>>299637
Yes. I get hungry at night after dinner.

I can't eat after I wake up. If i take a nap in the afternoon I wont be hungry when I wake up for hours.

just eat to get the feeling of nutrition, then stick a finger down your throat and puke it up.. it will help eleviate the bloat feeling. .

Hey OP, the reason you've gained weight on a lower calorie diet is because by implementing running into your regime, you're actually stimulating your body to increase your metabolism, so you're actually going to be putting the food you eat to better use than before you started. It's also likely that you've gained some muscle mass, possibly in your legs, as you are running.

Keep it up. Also, eat more. 1000 calories is not enough, you want AT THE VERY LEAST, 1200 calories, and that's if you're a girl that isn't trying to gain weight or anything.
Try calculating out a diet that consists of 1400 calories, 3-4 smaller portions per day.

It depends what you are eating.

BUT ISN'T A CALORIE A CALORIE?

No. There are articles on this.
