Hai /fat/,

I'm 5'6" and 166.5 lbs. My BMI is 26.9 (a bit into overweight). I don't know what my body fat percentage is. :<

I'm doing 110-pushup sessions. I start doing 10 in a row, then 9 in a row, etc. until I get to 1 (it's a one-handed pushup). Then I do another one-handed pushup with the other hand and I work back up to 10.

When that becomes easy for me, I will start at 11 pushups and go down to 2. This will add 20 more pushups. I'll keep adding 20 more when necessary.

Two questions:
1. Is this a good workout?
2. Can anyone give me even a wild estimate on how much muscle weight I could potentially be gaining every week (assuming this is the only exercise I do)?

why don't you just go to the gym and lift? much better. I don't think you'll see too many gains just by doing this alone. and of course, do cardio.

Don't have the money for it. I'm probably going to start running every day.

I'm trying to get a good self-sufficient workout that I can do whenever I feel like it.

Muscle mass, probably very low. Too many reps, this ends up being more of an endurance exercise.

/rs/ The naked warrior, read it and follow it. It will explain and show you how to get the most out of your one handed pushups.

Also, push ups aside, what else are you doing?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't one handed pushups only good for the biceps? And aren't they more difficult than a regular pushup?

Triceps, not biceps. And they still get the chest involved somewhat.

Your not going to do a single one handed push up, unless you can do more, then 25 normal push ups. So yes, they are a shit fucking ton harder. But they are already too easy for OP.

how in the world can you be so dumb as to not realize that when you lift the same weight with half the muscles, it's harder?

2 hand pushup = weight/2 per arm
1 hand pushup = weight per arm
