/fit/ I have a question for you
a few days ago I woke up and on a random impulse, had a few shots of honey, right out of the bottle. i forgot how good this shit tasted. that was 5 days ago and my 1 LB/16 OZ is nearly gone, it hasn't left my side.
my girlfriend also said that my cum actually tastes GOOD. "it was sweet and thick" to quote her. I obviously don't want to stop drinking honey at a rate of about a pound a week.

my question, other than honey intoxication, which isnt gonna happen because i buy the shit at publix, are there any health or fitness risks to consuming this much honey?
My first guess was a digestive problem...but acid reflux hasnt responded at all.

tl;dr I'm eating >1lb of honey a week, will i get sick if i continue doing this regularly?
>> Moonmauler
Pure sugar, mostly fructose. Not too good.

not sick, but fat. Lotsa sugar and calories.

okay, thats descriptive. what'll that do to me?
i dont drink soda, i eat mostly food i cook at home, thus avoiding over-processed shit, and i refuse to even enter a fast food store(they're not restaurants, they're stores). i don't work out but i'm at a decent weight. no visible muscle except my ridiculous swimmers legs.
will honey fuck that up or...

It won't have any effect on your muscles.
It's just sugar. It'll make you FAT if you don't burn it.
>> Anonymous
it's like 370g of extra sugar a week. sugar is easy for your body to turn into fat if you don't burn it off.

is swimming a decent form of exercise? i've got a pool in my back yard(a real one, not one of those stupid above ground pools)
would just swimming laps do it?
hate to get off topic but does anyone have a simple routine for exercising in a pool? not a whole workout, don't need to lose any weight, but a little couldn't hurt

yes, swimming is excellent cardio training.
It burns a lot of energy and builds nice muscle.
However, 1 lbs of honey is a fuckton of energy.
You'd have to train like a freak.

Excessive sugar intake is linked to type 2 diabetes. Honey also contains almost no vitamins or minerals, so you're essentaily wasting those calories on some other food that could be very nutritious.

And relying on sugar for the main source of your carbs is rarely a good idea. They are digested fast and cause a big insulin response, which leads to fat storage. They also cause blood sugar peaks and valleys, which means inconsistent energy levels and food cravings.

given the nutrition facts a pound of honey a WEEK doesn't look any worse than regularly drinking soda, looks better even...

1 bottle is about 350g of sugar, 1 bottle over a whole week, with fairly healthy eating in between. it cant be THAT much of an impact if drinking soda regularly doesn't make you gain weight
>> Moonmauler
>>48625
He said he doesn't drink soda.

>>48626
you're right, i dont drink soda. i stopped a while ago and my weight hasnt changed, soda didnt make me gain any weight, and honey is less than i was drinking

>>48623
my moms side of the family has a history of diabetes though, i don't want that...i'm healthy otherwise, not fat. with the exception of the honey i eat better than anyone i know(this includes a few vegetarians.)

The most essential needs of the body are:
Air
Water
Sugar
Salt

in that order. Don't listen to people telling you things you know are not true.
>> Anonymous
>>48629

Let me know how that water/sugar/salt diet turns out for you.
>> Moonmauler
>>48629
You do realize that starch from good sources like oatmeal and whole wheat bread is long chains of bonded sugar molecules, right?
>> Anonymous
By sugar they do not nessecarily mean the sweet stuff, but moreso glucose or any other sugar that contains the energy your cells need to function.
>> Anonymous
if you want to keep the sweet cum, you could probably cut back on the honey a bit and still keep it, maybe try eating half a pound in a week and eating lots of fruits (especially pineapple)

it's not great for you, but it's not going to kill you if you're reasonably healthy otherwise
>> Anonymous
>>48638
He didn't say that was the best diet, just those are what your body needs. And he's right. Without those things you will die. If you figured out a way to never eat sugar (glucose) or salt (sodium) you would end up dead in under a week.

dear op,

most of these people are fools.

honey is mainly fructose. fructose does not elicit anything like the insulin response that say, glucose or sucrose (a fructose/glucose combo) does. this means you can consume large amounts of it and not impare insulin sensitivity.

problem is it does not make your body make secrete a chemical that tells you you are full either. this is the issue with high fructose corn syrup (though comparing honey to hfcs is like comparing red wine to industrial alcohol). and excess energy will be converted to fat, so it becomes a matter of how active you are.

now a lot of people go on about how 'sugar' is bad for you and shit, and then talk about other carbohydrate sources like they know what the fuck they are talking about. truth is, some people are better able to process carbohydrates than others, basically because of genetics. so while some people might do great on oatmeal, others, like myself, don't. so i stick to fruits and vegetables as my carbohydrate sources. what's more, eating a whole lot of oatmeal is still going to make you fucking fat if you're not active. breads and grains are not good for you by virtue of magic. and most people eat too many carbohydrates anyway.

hey fatty, chugging that loaf of rye bread is still a gonna make you fat.

so in short, not all carbohydrate sources are created equal, and some are better for some people than others. eating too much will still make you fat. jews did 9/11.

your body can make glucose from either fat or protein. so no.
>> Moonmauler
>>48721
Honey is 40% fructose, but it's also 30% glucose so it will still cause a big insulin response.
>> RSI guy !HjbWRiSTJ.
>>48623
I think it's excessive *refined* sugar intake is associated with type 2 diabetes.

>>48721
thank you for this clarification, i never heard this in class before. or must've not understood at the time.

>>48625
i heard about 10 grams sugar an hour is OK. not sure about details on this one. maybe a determined anon can research and get back to me. here's email.

given everything else said in the thread, use honey for some flavor, but don't guzzle or anything like that.
>> Anonymous
OP here, back finally
>>48721
thank you, and
>>49085
thank you
i should clarify, a pound of honey a week sounds like a lot, but its roughly the amount you'd squirt onto toast for flavor every hour or so. i'm not drinking the shit like soda.
i'm ALSO NOT using it as a substitute for anything. i'm maintaining a normal healthy diet, with several shots of honey throughout the DAY

>>given everything else said in the thread, use honey for some flavor, but don't guzzle or anything like that.
so i'm technically doing more than that, but not by a whole lot. i just wanna know if this is going to make me sick or if i'm just gonna have to work out a little harder to burn it off

come to think of it a can of coke is 12 oz, and i would drink 2-3 a day back when i drank soda. this is 16 oz a week with a higher portion of sugar, there's no way i'm consuming as much as i used to...
>> Moonmauler
>>49315
Honey is much, much more calorie (sugar) dense than pop.

Sugar cravings? Sweet semen? Sounds like you're diabetic.

seconded. you might want to get some blood tests OP.
>> Anonymous
1 pound a week wont hurt you, 1 pound a day will.

plus I guarantee you'll get sick of it before a month is up.
>> Anonymous
be careful not to eat too much too quickly. that stuff can carry lots of sugar in it(depending on how it's made) and too much can give you the dreaded DIABEETUS plague. plus too much of anything can put your kidneys into overdrive which can lead to serious health problems. but for the most part a shot of honey 20 minutes before a workout is a good way to get an energy boost.
>> Anonymous
too much sugar will make you fat. there's a reason why bears eat a sitload of the stuff before going into hybernation.
>> Anonymous
>>49501
Actually bears get at the nests for the larvae, and the honey itself is just a delicious byproduct.
