I'm your typical fatass ICT geek/ I've finally got motivation to lose weight so I've gone for it. Running was really hard and I have no other equiptment or gyms near by. I've taken advice from you and bought actual running shoes and running/jogging is now fun. I'm big in all ways. My feet are size 16 (us). (I was running in steel toecaps/safety boots before) Got any other cardio/exercises I can do without "tools"?

How much/how often should I be doing the runs? I've no idea on the correct methods of this.. Just run somewhere. I can't go very far because it's the first time in years I've actually ran (and I'm fat). I've been going out, running and coming back inside. Walking about and browsing 4chan then going out again. My shins started to hurt so I guessed thats the sign to stop for a longer period?

Start with a mile. If you can't run the whole way, run as much of it as you can and walk the rest. Eventually you'll be able to do a full mile.

Then try for 5 miles. Same deal.
Eventually, you'll make 5 miles. No real point in running further than that. From there, start working on improving your pace.

6mph = 10 minute mile.
12mph = 5 minute mile.

Try to improve your pace slowly until you reach your goals. 5 minute miles are damn impressive and most people can't do them, so don't expect to reach this level of fitness anytime soon. Keep working at it though, and eventually you'll finish your 5 mile run in less than 30 minutes, then you can feel good about yourself.

Word of warning - take your time and build it up. You don't want to go from sedentary to fully active and end up injured.

I believe I was starting off correctly then. Trying to run around the block I found myself trying to go a little bit more each time (even if it was simply the next house). When my shins have said that's enough for the day, what activities could I do for the rest of the day/till they feel better again? I believe I'm eating correctly too but not sure. I'm eating the natural stuff fruit/veg. Not starving myself, just eating enough so I'm not hungry. (Usually some form of fruit)

I live in England so I'm size 15, here. Brantano goes up (in an "alright" selection) to about 17. They are mostly work boots etc which is what I have to use as casual footwear/everything. If they go out of business, yeah I'm pretty much fucked. I don't want to order online.

Good on you then. I've never even seen a shoe above size 13 in shops, and most of them only stock to size 12. I guess we have less big feet here statistically or something.

I found something I found "enjoyable" which was going around random roads where I live, running for as long as I can, walking till I can breathe again and then setting a goal ahead of me of what to run towards and sometimes sprint. Is it okay to be doing bursts like this? I'm really lost on how to be doing this. Most of the time my pulse felt like 2 or 3 per second. Not sure if that counts for much either. I really want to do this but think I'm doing it wrong. I did this at night time as less people to mock (people in this area can be harsh) but I know I will have to do this multiple times a day. what times should I do this as well?

Get a heart rate monitor. You can find 'em for about $50 or so. Then what you should do is go run/jog for about half an hour while keeping your heart rate about about 70-75% of maximum (probably about 140-150, maybe 160). That'll help burn fat.
