Are you a social or solitary person? Are you competitive?
Pros if you're social: 1. People to work out with 2. Expensive machines 3. Support groups & trainers 4. Recipe cards and dietitians (well, the gym around here offers it) 5. 24 hour access (well, some places offer it, others don't) 6. The sauna. Oh Lordy I love the Sauna. 7. The steam room. Another love of mine 8. You get to see attractive members of the opposite gender working those muscles.. mmm turn on 9. Its mental encouragement. 10. Make friends/work out buddies
Cons: 1. Takes time to walk/drive there and back 2. Requires effort, bitch. 3. Tires you out before you have to go and do other things with your life. 4. Crowded on weekends (I hate weekenders...) 5. Hidden fees for classes, nutritionists, and other "benefits" 6. Money 7. If you're already out of the house, instead of going all the way home afterwards to eat something healthy you'll probably end up eating out somewhere unhealthy. However, there are some gyms that have small health cafe's in them or adjacent (owned by the same company) that offers some absolutely amazing food. Avacado rolls... nom nom...
