Dear /fit/

Considering doing 30 mins Cardio in the morning.

How important are warm ups/downs and rest days?

For cardio? Not at all, only the really fat fucks need 'rest days' from cardio.

you don't really need rest days for cardio, that's more for bulking up

as far as warm-ups/cool-downs, it's not critical but it certainly does help, and reduces the likelihood of injury (strains/sprains, compartment syndrome, etc)

Awesome. Will go ahead with the warm ups/down.

Also what about HIIT?

depends on how serious/what your goals are.
i do as much cardio as my body can handle. cant do 7 straight days. body simply needs that 1 day of rest

really? u can go w/o off days?

if you're just trying to lose fat/build endurance, yeah. if you're trying to build muscle, then you need the off days. the off days basically gives your damaged muscle time to remodel, letting your muscle cells build up thicker and stronger

Hammerknife is from /k/ and has a tendency to have fairly bad advice. He's one of those "Pain is weakness leaving the body" type of guys.

It's not a matter of being able to do it or not; your body simply needs a full day to rejuvenate itself after muscle wear and fatigue.

That being said, warm ups are always preferred, but honestly with cardio you can just start off gently and intensify your workout about 2 minutes in. Give yourself another easy 2 minutes at the end. I'm more concerned that you're doing proper stretching of the musclegroups that you'll be using.

thats probably it. i am trying to do both simultaneously and its draining

stretching before cardio
cooldown after cardio (like walking 1/4th of a mile after a 2 mile run)

crucial shit

"Muscle wear and fatigue" comes from lifting and resistance training, not cardio. A 'full day of rejuvenation' after 30 minutes of a day's cardio is a joke.

Normally I'm an Anon that rips on Hammer, but in this instance, he's right. Quit being a fag.

If you body aches from cardio, you're doing it wrong. If your joints are sore, you're too fat/out of shape to be running, so get on the bike or the elliptical.
