ssup /fit/ hope you are well cause I'm not.
I've been sick with a stomachache for 3 days now, which was intensified today for some reason.
I'm not sure what the problem is whether it's food poisoning, constipation, or problem with appendix.
I just know I yacked out everything I ate today including a cup of barley tea and water so I'm definitely in a catabolic state with dehydration.

My sister trying to be a help, just offered me watered down Vitamin Water, saying 'it's better than Gatorade', when my body doesn't seem to let water just chill in there. I was pretty much disgusted by the idea knowing what a garbage Vitamin Water is and how she thought it was going to save me. I type this while touching my painful stomach trying to ask anons whether I'm just being a dick to my sis or her overly concerned ignorance may have caused more problems?

btw, it's Saturday night right now, and I plan to go see a doc on Monday, unless I have to go into ER during the mean time. Broke college kid is broke. Stupid insurance doesn't cover it ER trips fully.

tl;dr I'm sick with a stomachache yacking out everything. Sis offered me Vitamin Water. Was she trying to kill me?

if you're dehydrated vitamin water is good for that.

but you should go see a docter now. it's your appendix.

Yeah, this sounds exactly like when I had appendicitis. Get to an ER and hope it hasn't ruptured yet, that way you'll be out much sooner and won't have to pay for a week+ of antibiotics.

agreed, 10 years ago i suffered through appendicitis for 4 days and then I died. Trust me, you don't want that shit to happen.

not even funny, I'm OP.

Dear anons, how much does the procedure cost, if I was to walk into an ER right now?

here's how you test if you have appendicitis:

stand up. lift up on your tip-toes and then drop down onto your heel, and if you double over in severe pain, then you have it.

then you need to go to the hospital.

probably just some severe gastroenteritis unless you ate out (food poisoning) recently.

even if you have abdominal pain and fevers, it's probably not appendicitis..but if you do have pain, and it's in the lower right abdomen or around your belly button area, it could be a sign of appendicitis.

just weather it out, call in sick, keep using ibuprofen/motrin (anti-inflammatories) and tylenol, stay in bed, and sip fluids if you can't keep anything down

I'm guessing it's inexpensive relative to other procedures, considering how common it is...

But frankly, you don't have time to worry about expenses--once your appendix ruptures, you've got fluids leaking internally that will kill you if left untreated.

OP here again, blood is coming out of my ass oh god what do I do oh god I can't see

the ER docs would order a CT scan (they're incompetent boobs who can't diagnosis anything themselves). the scan alone would cost you $1-2k.

look up psoas sign and obturator sign on google

It just hurts my right lower abdomen a little, but it's really minor, when I did that.

My pain is manageable right now for some reason. Excruciating pain is subdued after sleeping on it couple hours ago so I'm debating whether to go into an ER or hold it off till Monday. I wish I had money.....

Well, it'll be more expensive if you wait too long and it ruptures. It'll also lead to a much bigger scar (vertically down the center of the abdomen, instead of a little horizontal slit on the right), unless things have changed a lot in the past few years.

Also, considering that you can specifically feel pain in your right side increases the likelihood of it being appendicitis (as that's where the appendix is).

in 1997 the procedure cost me a little over $118,000. that included ambulance costs, ct scan, emergency surgery, three weeks of recovery at the hospital, another ct scan, two weeks of home health, another three weeks of care after infection, a third ct scan, casket cost, and burial expenses

is your sister hot? if so, be nice to her.

she didn't give you vitamin water to save you, dummy. she gave it to you to keep you from getting dehydrated. gatorade, tea + lemon, or pedialite are electrolyte balanced. if you're vomiting and shitting blood dehydration is a real danger.

go to a charity hospital if you can't afford the ER.
the catholic church has health insurance called Queen's Aid (queen = virgin mary). you don't have to be catholic to get coverage. basically they pay your hospital bill.

if you have to go to the ER, you can apply to charity to cover the cost after you get out. you fill out all the forms and they pay your deductable or what you can't pay.

free medical clinic: if there are any free clinics in your city get your butt over there now. teaching hospitals often have free services to the public. what good is money if you're dead?

or lay on your back, lift one knee, and rotate your leg left and right. if you have appendicitis the motion will put pressure on your swollen appendix and make you scream like a horror movie actress.

Or test it the way doctors do. Ask somebody (your sister) to press your McBurney's point. If it's appendicitis, the pain will be unbearable. A healthy person won't feel anything.

Locate your right anterior superior iliac spine (a hard lump in the front and right of your waist). McBurney's point is one third between that and your navel.
