..I'm 6'1" and weigh roughly 210 pounds, most of it located in the gut region. I'm going to blame it on the beer for now.

What's the fastest way to get rid of this and keep it gone? I've no problem with working for it, I just want to work effectively. I'd like to lose 15-20 pounds before I start working out on a routine at the gym/runnning etc.

Not OP, but my track coach used to make us run on the road all the time in high school. It aggravated my knee which I injured when I was in middle school. Now my knee is fucked up because I tried to "run through the pain". Go for something a bit more soft than the road if you are going to run.
