ITT: diseases you've had:
Ehrlichiosis, a disease caused by the bacteria of these little fuckers. I went 6 days with out eating, had chronic high fevers (among other things) and was fairly close to becoming comatose. But one shrunken stromach, and man IVs filled with antibiotics later, I'm still here to tell the tale. Also, the doctors had a bitch diagnosing me and had to send my bloodwork to the mayo clinic. Long story short, ticks fucking suck.

so let's here about your diseases, /fit/.

Got a real nasty cyst on my ass. Slightly below the tailbone, betwen the cheeks, a cyst was growing under my skin, due to some hair growing inward or somesuch shit. tl;dr I sit too much. Couldn't sit or lie down on my back for over a week. Couldn't even lie down on my side after a while, I had to lie on my stomach. Hardly ate anything. Doctors refused to do anything because "it wasn't ready"(while I couldn't do anything but lie on my stomach in pai).

In the end, when it grew so much that it POPPED, they finally cut it open and cleaned it out. That also hurt. A lot.

It's funny you mention that, I had like 5 young, good looking medical students working on my diagnoses, and in the mornings at the hospital, they'd all come in with clip boards. I felt like I was in an episode of House the whole time at the hospital.
The only thing that was missing was a unshaven cynical, old asshole.

Not a disease, but I had scabies. It got so bad I literally wanted to peel my skin off. I would just lay in an oatmeal bath for hours to soothe the itching. It was horrible. I finally quit procrastinating and went to a doctor and the cream cleared it up in like a couple days.

Pic related... cute little fella, isn't he?

I know someone who had the same thing. She had to get it surgically removed, I guess. Sounds painful.

I've have piriformus syndrome, which isn't a disease but it still sucked. "Piriformis syndrome is a neuromuscular disorder that occurs when the sciatic nerve is compressed or otherwise irritated by the piriformis muscle. This causes pain, tingling and numbness in the buttocks and along the course of the sciatic nerve. The syndrome may result from anatomical variations in the muscle-nerve relationship, or from overuse or strain.

Had it during my football season, which only complicated it. Went to physical therapy for 2 months, got out in time for lacrosse season.

I had pneumonia in second grade, which sucked, but got me out of school for three months. Now I have severe carpal tunnel in both of my wrists, probably no thanks to spending so much time on the internets.

I have snapping hip syndrome, which almost caused me tendinitis. 'Twas on the edge, so after not walking at all for about four days I began to lose the pain.

It's hard to not move your hip four days, since you use it for nearly every movement you make. And I exercise on a daily base, making it even harder.
