Proactiv Solution Anonymous
sup /fit/
the acne I get isn't really all that bad compared to some people... but I feel really self-conscious about it, plus half the time it's under the skin where it hurts like hell. I'm considering getting Proactiv, but I'm a college poorfag and I don't want to get stuck paying for their once-every-two-months refill plan thing.

opinions on Proactiv? thanks in advance

didn't work for me, then again neither did murad or any of that other three step as seen on TV bullshit. look into dr. bronner's tea tree soap for washing your face, if you like benzoyl peroxide try danielkern.com, cetaphil moisturizer if your skin gets dry

my sister had some, and I would use the spot treatment stuff when I got a pimple. it seemed to make it go away a lot faster, so I guess it would work for me if I used it every day.

Sometimes I'd see effects within hours, it was that effective for me. Getting it to disappear completely, though, was a different story.

it's all a matter of skin type. I get lots of acne, but when it goes away there's no visible mark left behind within a few days. and that's without using any special cleansers or acne medication.

I've found that proactiv is just a watered down form of other things you can get for much cheaper. the scrub stuff they give you can be replaced with other scrub products that are much grittier and do a better job at exfoliating. The blue liquid is just an astringent that can also be replaced by cheaper products. The lotion never gave me the kinds of clearing up results that Clean and Clear Persagel does (you put clean and clear on affected spots rather than on your whole face).

I've never really had any luck getting rid of the under the skin kinds. Though otherwise I have been pretty successful in treating my acne such that I hardly had any throughout highschool. Never go to bed with your face greasy if you can avoid it. A bathcloth and warm water is usually enough to clear off the grease at night. I actively pop whiteheads and clear out blackheads as soon as they appear that they will come out when I squeeze. Make sure to wash your face after squeezing things because you just spread the shit from inside the pimple otherwise.

The only special products I use on my face are Clean and Clear Persagel 10 (a medicated cream put on pimples at night, an exfoliant (the stuff that has sand in it that you rub all over your face to get off dead skin and some looser blackheads), and a stainless steel blackhead too (just a little stick with a tiny loop at the end for pushing dirt out of pores... this can be found pretty easily at a drug store or something).

Sun is also a very good treatment for acne... as is swimming rather it be in a pool or the ocean because both have things in them that help dry out your acne (chlorine and salt respectively)

Use baby powder, pat on your face when ever you can(before you sleep is good), but make sure you wash it off periodically. It will absorb the oils off your face. Women have been using this technique for years.

It didn't do much for me at all.
I would try out the acne.org package instead.
