try posting a picture where we can actually see your body

bulking and cutting are important, but before bulking it's nice to see what framework you have; weight training while cutting to maintain current muscle, then once your body fat is low enough you can more easily recognize engaging your muscles when you decide to bulk

I'm aware of the filename, thanks anon. Thanks for the advice. Supposedly im at around 14-16 percent bodyfat (the scale I use varies), but it's hard to tell just by looking since I have loose skin.

i'd rather cut to about 8-9% and then bulk

but thats personal preference i guess, if you go right into bulking and then cut you would theoretically accomplish your future cut within a smaller timeframe i guess

Why, you are just going to be putting the fat back on without gaining any significant mass before hand.

At least if you bulk first, the new mass will help you lose the fat substantially faster when you finally do cut.

You could reach the same goal in six months that you are proposing it would take in nine months.

Different strokes though.

You have decent muscle but your BF is too high to see it.

cutting then bulking is reeeeeeally hard to do. it's really slow because your diet pretty much has to be exactly on in order to balance calories in vs. out and what you're burning daily for exercise. it's why most bodybuilders eat like crazy and then cut hard.

i have the feeling you're paranoid because you were a fatty that now you've lost the weight that putting any back on will bring back bad memories.

if that's the case, do it in stages. bulk 15-20 lbs over a few months, cut and you should have 3-4 lbs new muscle underneath. repeat as needed.

cutting 10-15 lbs is nothing compared to what you already did, so it's all easy, yeah?
