I do a little of everything. Cook your oatmeal with a 1:1 ratio of oats and water, then add some milk to your preferred texture. Also, sugar. If you can eat oatmeal without it, then go for it. But I needs my sugary oatmeal.
Also, nothing I've added to it -- besides sugar (and brown sugar) -- has made it taste better. Honey, syrup, cinnamon...all made it taste more like ass. But again, to each his own. Don't think honey is much better than sugar, though. As far as I'm aware, they're pretty much the same thing in different states.
