Hey /fit/,

Tow questions, first, what is the best SETSxREPS to do to lose weight. And second, when should I drink my protien shake, i recently changed gyms and Have to bike home. So drink it after lifting, hitting the punching bags and speed ball or biking home(its not a big bike ride, only 5km)

Anyone with some real help. At the moment I'm doing 5x5 with a warmup on lighter weights and drinking the shake after hitting the bag and speed ball.

If you wanna lose weight make sure you're doing plenty of cardio. And personally I do 8x5

the idea with protein shakes is that you gulp them while your metabolism is still pumping, so that the protein is transported faster to your muscle.
It doesn't matter much when exactly you drink it as long as it's in the first hour after training.

the darker the color, the more you gain from that kind of rep.
Example: If you want to train for maximal strength, you best do 1 to 3 reps. That would be like olympic weightlifting.
For power it would be 3 to 5.
Rippetoe and others propagate that you train 5 reps for best overall gains.
This range seems to be best for strength, power, endurance, etc.

Well the best times to take protein shakes is after workout because your body needs to refill stores and such, before you go to bed so your workers have enough bricks to build you and after you wake up because you've been 6-8 hours without protein

I actually mix my oatmeal breakfast with whey protein. Gets me started for the day.
