Speaking of hurting backs, how does one know when a back has been hurt? What's the difference between good hurt and bad hurt?
Should you even feel anything in your back ever? (After lifting weights.)

Depending on what is done, there is little indication of what is "bad" and what is "good". Pain receptors are pretty stupid so the only way you can be sure is by knowing what caused the pain.

I know what you mean. After driving for a long time my lumbar are usually hurt like hell and when I apply traction that area hurts like a motherfucker. But in a good way.

you want a not too soft bed to straighten out the back when you sleep.. but it also depends wether you sleep on the side or flat on the back. A softer bed is better if you sleep on the side as it will fit the curves of your body. chest, stomach and hips.

i sleep with that tempurpedic type soft foamy stuff

it's like night and day

after about a week you stop noticing the difference, but remove it once and you'll realize how fucking hard a bed is without the foam

the pillows and layer that goes on top of the mattress both work really well

Hard bed with a good pillow top. My new one is so comfortable I can barely get out of bed anymore.
