I hate asking for this but I'm a newb at working out and need some help. I've decided to join the Navy in order to get the Medical training I've been paying for out of pocket the last three years. The education I can handle, but I need to get fit for Basic. I was planning to ship out at the end of January. Here are my stat's and what I need:

I am currently 20, 320 pounds, 6'4. I have fairly crappy eating habits but I adapt to a new life style easily. The Navy Basic weight standard for my height is 221 pounds or 20% Body fat. I asked my more fit friends and they said a heavy jogging/running program would be in order. Can someone help me put together a program and some suggestions for eating?

tl;dr Workout newb, need to loose 80 pounds for Navy Basic before January 31st. HALP.

Have you tried eating more and exercising less? I heard that works.

Try this out OP. It's a decent walking/jogging/running program that has a forgiving curve. I would definitely suggest adding some swimming/weight training to your regemend if you can but focus on the endurance more than anything. Good luck to you. We were always in need of competent Corpsmen when I was touring.

jesus christ OP. you are a fat fuck. start by dumping all of that junk food that you probably have on your desk right now and are most likely subconsciously eating. this is your problem. dont eat super healthy but dont eat shitty either. get a treadmill and start running a few miles every day until January.

alternatively, you could just go to college and learn your medical shit and stay a fat fuck forever.

I've already done most of that. Dumped the cokes, the snacks, and fried foods. I wasn't that overweight until I started college. Not making any excuses but between a full time job and 60 hours a week in class, fast food is about the only option. I don't want to spend the cash on a treadmill, especially since there is a High School track and field less than a mile from my Apartment.

The cost of med school is brutal, and thanks to this Bailout crap, student loans are getting out of hand. The navy will cover school and encourage me to get myself healthy.

320-221 = 80?
Good luck getting into med school bro'

Let's say you just needed to lose 80 pounds.

80 pounds in fucking 4 months?
That's exactly 5 pounds a week.

You'd have to workout every fucking day (cardio, add sum circuit training too), also eat a lot less.

But the fastest and easiest way would be lipo bro. Do it faggot.

I need to l-o-s-e 100 pounds to be exactly at the requirement. But if I can lose 80 that clears me for the delayed entry program (Basic b4 basic) which will handle the rest.

It's not a set in stone thing, I can push back my entry if I really need to, but since I'm wrapping up school in December, I don't want to wait too long before I leave. I know 80 pounds in that amount of time is extremely ambitious but I'm confident I can do it.

(Pic is from the Manga TOUGH. There is an anime of it called Shootfighter Tekken.)

atkins diet. the original atkins was for emergency rapid weigh loss for the morbidly obese. like say you had to lose 30 lbs before having heart surgery in a few months. weight loss with atkins is initially very fast, so yeah, you might be able to do it.

what worked for me: I found exercises I could do for several hours or all day on my days off: walking, biking, yoga. walk/bike on your errands instead of driving.

If you're new to jogging, thick socks will protect your feet from blisters. Ask your Navy friends to get you some service socks from the PX.

You can also give blood. 600 calories right there. Help others while you help yourself slim down.
