hi /fit/

I used to go running on our treadmill a lot, pretty much every day for an hour. I recently tried to resume that, and failed miserably.

My problem is not that I am now unfit, it's that every time I try running on it i get a pretty bad stitch (do they call it that outside england?). I do good stretches for like 10 minutes beforehand and warmup etc but it doesnt seem to help. I thought it might be something to do with what/how soon i've eaten but i dont think so i give it a couple hours. halp?

warming up is your problem. don't do it.

Called cramps, in the states at least.

If it's a cramp, watch what you drink--no soda or carbonated drinks. In fact, you should probably just stick to water.

I only drink water. Ok example last time I did it I ate a tuna steak and some rice, waited hour and half, stretched, walked quickly, ran, PAIN. I did feel like I hadn't digested properly but it might not be that because it happens all the fuckin time.

Fuck it ill just do weights then eh.

I used to get cramps ALOT, in fact I got em yesterday when I ran. Usually when I cramp up, I just keep on going, but sometimes no matter what I do, I cramp up. That's when I eat a banana 1 hour before I run. The potassium in the banana supposedly helps prevent cramps.

Is it not true that muscles under stress release potassium into the bloodstream? Does that make it a bad thing or a good thing.
