Been trying to loose some pounds this past summer in a pathetic attempt to get into shape, and decided to try sum biking (been doing a 2 mile jog in 40 mins, yes I'm out of shape, that's why I'm fucking working on it, okay).

I have a simple, no thrills $60 bike (no speeds, no brakes, backwards bike pedal to stop only) and I can do 6.5 miles in 33 mins (plus a 8 min half mile warm up, cool down, walk). Is this a good daily alternative to my slow as fuck jogging?

Walking at 4mph, you should be able to do 2 miles in 30 minutes...

You're probably tiring yourself out too much with a few minutes of jogging so then you start to walk extremely slow for long periods of time. You'll probably do better with just walking at a decent constant speed.
