Dear /fit/izens,

I just saw this Power Drive shit on the Biotest supplement page at T-nation, and it got me thinking. Anybody try it or know anything about it? It makes pretty good sense.

Ok, so when beginners start strength training they typically have a rapid increase in strength (noob gains) early on due to improvements in CNS function. Yet when the topic of nutrition is brought up it's used frequently in reference to muscle recovery. Wouldn't it make sense for nutrition to be more focused on nervous system recovery? That's seems to be where all the best gains are at.

I don't want to shell out money for something if I can get the same effect from food. I know food also creates and replenishes neurotransmitters, but I'm going to begin investigations into which foods are best for nervous system recovery. Preliminary results are based on the Power Drive ingredients: (continued next post)

>L-Tyrosine
found in meats, dairy products, fish, wheat and oats.

>phosphatidylcholine:
-As free choline in vegetables (especially cauliflower and lettuce), whole grains, liver, and soy.

-As lecithin (containing 10-20% phosphatidylcholine) in grains, legumes, meat and egg yolks.

>DMAE
DMAE is a naturally occurring substance, found mainly in fish (sardines and anchovies) and is produced in small amounts within the human brain.

>Gingko Biloba
Found in ginko biloba

tl;dr - nutrition should be focused on nervous system recovery with muscle recovery as a secondary concern. Accomplish this through OATZ, FISH PILLZ, milk, meat, eggs, veggies, ginko biloba. Whaddaya know, all the best foods for muscle growth are the best for the nervous system.

Try reading the words next time instead of just looking at the picture, meathead. Maybe your primitive insect brain will learn something.

It's about why I think we should worry more about nervous system recovery first and muscle recovery second.

Interesting, Maybe this is why Frank Yang is such a beast? Apart from his training regimen, he himself admits that he has a 'sick nervous system'. I bet allot of strong guys eat these foods religiously.

you realize all the stimulants in animal pump will increase CNS fatigue, which is what OP is suggesting to we try to avoid though supplementation. FFFFFF

very good product
designed by Poliquin
3rd party university tested on athletes (not just 'noobs' like most studies utilize)

in essence, what protein is for muscles, components of power drive are for the CNS

it is a wise anon who realizes its all systemic, and that without the CNS, you arent going anywhere. hence, regardless of efficacy, why 'pump products' and other silly localized junk are fundamentally flawed.

-PD is also great on VLCDs and during transitioning period to Low carbs, so training (and brain function) remain strong
-some take PD in their POST wo, much like creatine, to replenish for 'next time'.

Holy shit, I learned something at /fit/. You know, I've never thought about nutrition like this. I've always been worried about getting my macros and micros for muscle repair and organ function, but eating for nervous system repair? Fuck yea, I'm getting me some Power Drive and appreciating OATZ and milk that much more.
