Dear /fit/,
I really want to get healthy as well as looking and feeling good. The thing is I have no idea (other than the basics) of how to go about doing it.
Instead of adding to the multitude of " I have ..... what should I do with it" posts can anyone direct me to some decent information on various workouts, plans etc so that I can work this out myself.
Thank you before hand.

Pic unrealated.

So should I just post my statistics and what I have up rather than asking for reading material?

I'll bite because it's slow. Give us your age, stats, facilities available, whatever other info you have, etc.

Your weight seems decent. What are your goals? Just fitness and some definition? Any thoughts about joining a gym? Rope and bike are good for cardio/weight loss and the medicine ball could be useful for abs. Weights are too low range imo.

Mostly it is to gain tone and general fitness. I'm thinking of getting a new set of weights, anything you can suggest for a novice?
I have actually signed up to join a gym and plan to start next week. I'm trying to plan out a regime for that too.

I don't have a home set but forget about them if you're joining a gym for now. You should probably start off with a classic split routine. I'd also do cardio before your workout and not after as that aids more with fitness goals. Are you doing anything now lifting-wise?

Well at the moment I'm just using my heaviest weights for as many reps until the muscle burns about twice a day if I can fit it in.
I'm also doing press ups, about 25, 3 times a day.
I think the main thing with me is I lack focus.

Impressive press up achievement at this early stage. You must be pretty fit.

Some will disagree but generally you need to keep your weights heavy and about the five rep range. At about three you should start to fail. Keep pushing the weights up on this.
