3. McDonald's
4. Jack In The Box
5. Burger King
6. Carl's Jr.
7. Kentucky Fried Chicken
8. Subway
9. Pizza Hut

Wendy's has some decent salads but they're not all that good for you. My suggestion is forgo the fast food and go for local mom & pop type establishments. Still cheap, tend to be better (and better for you,) and you'll get to "taste America" so to speak.

Are you attempting to determine the most healthy food at these restaurants, or just the tastiest?
>> Anonymous
you're gonna get fat unless you go to supermarkets and keep lots of shit in a cooler.

I'd stay away from all the fast food places, man. But if you can't then try some of the salads at McDonalds. You know, most big fast food restaurants have a website with the nutritional values, if that's what you're asking anyway.

OP just wants to go back home and claim he only ate fast food because that's all the restaurants here.

If you are near the west coast try to find an In-N-Out, best burgers ever

dont judge us because we have the one of the healthiest diets in the civilized world

if you want pizza, try Godfather's or Sardella's.

also some supermarkets like Safeway and Bashas have premade food that are sitting out and waiting to be devoured. They have soups and subs and are way better than shitty fast food.

Protip: Kentucky Fried Chicken in abbreviated to KFC and Domino's Pizza to DP. They are also spoken in abbreviation.

I don't think that's an option really since we'll be on the move most of the time and will find food by spotting the big signs, unfortunately.

Well, not really "healthiest", but more of a solid meal with good protein and healthier fats/carbs than the typical McDonalds fare.

I know I won't be eating very well for a month, so I might as well accept it try to eat the best shit food. If you know what I mean?

Don't get fast food. Go to Diners. Fast food places don't even use real food. . . crappy diner food is at least crappy food. Fast food is crappy processed crap.

More than that, most grocery stores have sandwich shops these days and a good amount have all sorts of food you can get hot and premade, like moderately healthy mac and cheese, potatoes of various sorts and chicken in various states of cooking (fried, grilled, rotisserie).

The only fast food I know that's safe is In N Out, which uses real, unfrozen beef and makes their fries out of whole potatoes, while you wait.

If you are in the west coast, try our many taco shops.

None of this stuff is GOOD for you (well, some of the grocery store stuff is) but all of it is MUCH better than true fast food (all the places you mentioned).

on top of this info, *where* in amerifuck will you be traveling?

there are fast food chains that kick the shit out of others, depending on region. for example, are you going out west? California, Nevada? if so, definitely go to in-n-out burger. it's greasy bad shit, but they only use fresh ingredients (and, i've heard, only local ones), so hypothetically it's less preservative-y and more gooder. plus, fuck, their burgers & fries are just plain tits.

i was raised in the midwest as a kid and honestly, if you're going there, i got nothin for ya. anything other than big cities are just block after block of chain restaurants. though there are some specialty variations like BBQ, the best suggestion is probably>>353169. if, though, you can swing through places like chicago or minneapolis, definitely go a bit higher price and hit bohem or business districts.

oh, fuck, by the way, there are two heart attack-inducing breakfast places you gotta hit if you pass: Einstein Bros. Bagels and The Doughnut Plant

Thanks, but that seems easier said than done.

I've been in New York before (fast food, expensive restaurants or weird ethnic food that I don't trust) and Los Angeles (fast food or "gas station" shit like 2 day old hotdogs) and it's pretty difficult to find decent food without a bit of local knowledge or exploration.

We'll be driving through the whole country this time from west to east via route66 Chicago etc. so maybe there'll be more opportunity for some authentic American grub this time round :D

in-n-out burger sounds pretty good, I'll check that out. Mid-west? I suppose we'll be traveling through there if we're on route66?

Stay away from those places. You're better off getting a cooler and going to the grocery store to get your meals.

Not if you're British, Irish, Scottish, German or French.
