BOOBS. Anonymous
Okay, don't know if this is out of line, BUT

I got on birth control back around feb, and it made my boobs really, really hurt. Then they started growing (I'm 21, it's def the birth control) and they got to be pretty big, and they wont stop hurting. Planned Parenthood tells me this is fine and normal, but the pain wakes me up at night

Aside from all that, I don't want bigger boobs, I was happier and could work out easier before - if I quit my birth control, will I go back to my regular size? Or does it all depend. Also, if this happens to me with both kinds I've tried (estrogen and the non-estrogen) am I doomed, or is there something else ... non-rubber ... ?

I have no idea about whether it'll go back to its regular size if you quit birth control, but the only (obvious) advice I can give you is to go consult a general practitioner. And stop ruining yourself over sex.

There's more than one "pill" OP. Get a different prescription.

Assuming that this is like how breasts hurt when woman try to stop lactating my advice would be to put cold packs on them a little before bed. It will reduce the pain from their expansion.

I have know idea as to what birth control methods you might want to use though. Ask for another perscription or tell your man to put a condom on.

Sounds like it could be water retention or actual tissue growth. If you get off the pill the pain should go away and your boobs should shrink a bit. They might not go back to your old size though (and I hear it takes a few months).

If you haven't already try a low dose pill or progestin only and give it a few months for your hormone levels to normalize.

Are you allergic to latex?

Looked into an IUD? More money up front, but no side effects, and you don't have to worry about remembering to take the pill

the pill can cause lactation, which would explain the breast tenderness and size increase. on the up side, milking yourself would relieve the pain and can cause the body to burn off some fat. if you don't like that solution, maybe messing with hormones isn't for you...

well fucking duh, the pill makes you simulate pregnancy!!

there is both estrogen and progestin in regular ortho tricyclen, if you use ortho tricyclen lo there is slightly less estrogen, which is responsible for the breast tenderness. might be worth considering, if you already aren't on it.
