/fit/ heres my story:

Pre 1-year ago: I was a nerd, recluse, lard-ass. I think I topped 38% body fat at one point, as a male. I'm 6'6'' (that's a huge bitch), and weighed around 310. I drank lots of soda and didn't eat the healthiest of food, but usually only ate one meal a day and some snacks.

1-year ago-July 08: I went to my schools gym, saw a fitness instructor, got in a 6 day a week routine (3x days of 1 hr cardio, HR at roughly 70-80% of max, 3x days of weight training [full body routine] and 30 min cardio), changed my diet up a bit, became more social, turned my life around etc etc. I saw major improvements in the first 3-6 months, I dropped 30 pounds in the first month easy. At the end of the school year i was down 55 lbs, and my body fat was down to 25ish%. I went into the summer with a sweet wild land firefighting job, perfect, was going to hopefully drop the rest of the weight. BUT instead, i tore my ACL playing basketball :{{ So, 3 months of sitting on my ass/physical therapy later i had gained 20 lbs but my body fat had only gone up about 5%

Present day: Ive gotten back into my 6 days a week routine at the gym, but just doing cardio for now, until i think my knee is ready at least. 1 hr sessions of 80% of max HR.

Heres the problem: I cant seem to drop any more weight. Im stuck at 250, and i think it's just a plateu since im so huge (pretty large frame). I still have quite a bit of noticable body fat though, and it doesn't seem to want to go away

HIIT can help, but is not an end all solution. Just try and keep yourself motivated, keep doing cardio and weights and you'll drop those last pounds. The home stretch is long, but so rewarding.

i was refering to the fact that im not skinny andi have wide shoulders, so 250 is probably a fine weight even when i get in good shape

cut back on some food, eat lots of small meals and do HIIT and sprinting up hill
