Why does /fit/ train? What does /fit/ train for? How does /fit/ train for it?

I train because a body is a terrible thing to waste. Why subject yourself to a sedentary lifestyle when you know what you're capable of? I train for my sports - wrestling and rugby. I train by doing hardcore circuits for cardiovascular and muscular endurance, and occasionally throw in some heavy Olympic lifts and deadlifts if I feel like it. A lot of rockclimbing and basic parkour, too.

I train for a few reasons: It occupies my time, its fun (i like to challenge myself). I train for the obvious health benefits and aesthetics. I train with the usual methods, free weights and body weight exercises, cardio on an exercise bike. This is all equipment i have in my house

I train because I used to be fat, and now I'm hurdling headfirst as far away from that state as I can. I train because I'm afraid of shit hitting the fan, like society crumbling, and then being fit will come in handy as shit. I train for this by assigning everything a random number (heavy lifting, endurance lifting, running, rowing, bodyweight stuff, swimming, parkour/gymnastics, and rest all having a different number) and rolling dice to determine what I'm doing that day.

Pic related. He is the Technoviking. He is prepared.

Actually, I'm just going to bump the thread.

I train because I see the body as capable of amazing things. Mine has helped me out in too many ways to mention, is literally my life and allows me to do everything I've ever wanted to do. In return I owe it to take care of it and to not push for more amazing things would be pathetic.

I swim/bike/rock climb/free weight.

I train so I can look like a Russian Oly Lifter.

Power Lifters are fat asses(filled with muscle, but still fatasses) and body builders look like a joke.
>> Anonymous
I train because I like being fit, I like looking good, and I like feeling good.

>>414417
how can you claim OL lifters are lean while PLs are fat? what a retarded blanket statement. Superheavies in both disciplines look exactly alike, with PLs having a bit more BW for leverage.

do you have any fucking idea of weight classes?

lighter weight PLs come in sub-5% BF and extremely dry. that is literally stage-ready conditioning for a BB. lighter OLs do this as well.

Power Lifters, no matter what weight class look FUGLY.

Oly lifters usually don't, except for the heaviest weight class.

Mat kroc?

He looks like a bodybuilder. Plus he'd cut from 240 to 220 in one day for weigh in, and then gain it back the next day to lift, and not lose any strength.
>> Anonymous
>>414486
he does lots of isolation exercises, and to say that he looks like a bodybuilder is an ignorant insult to both parties.

Uh, what? He definitely looks like a bodybuilder.

also, I assume fugly to be fat and ugly? Or really really nasty?

Since this is objective, it's really impossible to us sweeping generalizations.
>> Anonymous
>>414504
Uh no he doesn't look like a high level bodybuilder at all, even if he did he does lots of unorthodox training for a powerlifter eg. high rep dumbbell "kroc rows" and he started his career as a 5-6 day split man using bodybuilding techniques.

I train for pure manliness. Also to be near other muscular men.

I train

1) because I enjoy the pain
2) because I don't want to be a worthless human being
3) because I need to be prepared for the zombie apocalypse
4) because I need to make certain individuals regret decisions they have made in the past
