Hey, I'm going to start running soon, and I was wondering what it can do for me? I have lower back pains if I stand up or move around for too long, can it help with that?

Also, is there anything I should know before I start? Or is it pretty straight forward, just run like I used to as a kid?

That's strange, my guess is that you sit too much. It wouldn't do bad to you to run a bit. Just try to not curve your spine foward too much.

It's fucking running. That's all there is to it.

That makes sense, what with classes and sitting in my computer chair. My sitting posture's terrible too, though my standing posture isn't bad.

Excellent. I'm going to be purchasing Vibram FiveFingers as well, after seeing that other thread. Always loved running barefoot on the beach at insane speeds.

Do spinal stretches from yoga. Backwards, forwards, sideways, and twist. If your spine is always immobile it's no surprise that it goes WTF when you start to move around.

Your lower back is weak. I suggest DEADLIFTZ

You need to work your core (ABZ) so that your back has more support. Work on your motherfucking posture. If all else fails, visit a chiropractor.
