sup /fit/

Having a wisdom tooth taken out next week. Have had 6 teeth taken out before (2 milk, 4 adult) and was absolutely fine but have heard about wisdom horror stories. Would anybody care to divulge theirs?

Got my done just last month.
Four taken out.
Didn't need to take a single one of the Vallium they gave me.
Just ice pack and ibuprofen.
I'm not He-man, it just doesn't hurt some people at all.
What sucked ass though was the feeling of getting anything I ate stuck in these gaping flesh holes that are still not fully closed.

Pic related - it's my flesh hole.

Had all 4 out at once, woke up, had a delirious chat with the surgeon about how oxygen saturation monitors worked, stopped bleeding after about 45 minutes, didn't need the painkillers (oxycodone/apap) after the first day but took them all anyway for the fun. It was a totally benign experience.

The only complaint is that for a few weeks after everything healed, there were small indentations where the teeth were in the back of my gums that chewed food would get stuck in. I'd have to wipe it out with my finger every time I ate something, but it was no big deal.

Why the fuck did they give you valium? It's not even a painkiller.

Good to know there are some decent stories then.

Flesh poster here. I confused Vicodin with Vallium. 10-4, over and out.

Yeah, what these other two just said.
I had my 4 out a month ago, was a bit of a mess for the first 8-12 hours after (as in bleeding / drooling, bit of trouble swallowing) but after that everything was pretty breezy.

No real pain ever, but there was some discomfort for a few days. I did take the painkillers, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have been that big a deal without them.

Also, you will look like a chipmunk, it's excellent.

Had 4 of mine out. 3 through the gums, one still in there. Just got Nitrous and injections, and it seems that the gas doesn't affect me all that much. Got the surreal experience of seeing smoke pour out of my head. Ended up only having stitches on the one, the other three were fine. No "good" painkillers, just huge horse-pill sized asprin. Ask your dentist/surgeon to get your teeth back though. I did that and I whip them out sometimes to freak people out. It's awesome. :-) Oh yeah, and those stupid holes in your gums suck too.

Had all 4 of mine out, 2 at a time.

Ibuprophen (SP?) and tylenol 1 each extra strength every four hours. Don't take more than one of each except the first time, tylenol builds up and is murder on your liver when it does, also don't ever mix tylenol with alcohol, and don't take aspirin at all until the holes are completely healed or you will bleed like a stuck pig. (I know)

TL DR ibuprophen and tylenol = painless.

Had 4 took up, woke up without fully resting off the drugs and tried to wander around the place. They had me go back and I sat down and kinda glared around me then passed out again.

But I only took one Vallium, didn't even really need it just took it to take it, and after that nothing else. No pain. For about a year though I kept getting this really weird awful taste in my mouth.

From what I hear it depends on who you are. I've never had much feeling in my mouth/jaw.

It's really easy. I had mine taken out earlier this summer. I had one infected one taken out under local anestesia (not being put under) and that wasn't bad at all.

Then, I had the other 3 taken out under general and it was a piece of cake. Boom, you're out. Boom, you wake up. I stood up out of the chair and started walking out, but they made me take a wheelchair. Fucking faggots. I wanted to walk out. That day wasn't bad at all. I just went home, took a couple percocet and passed out in the backyard. Worst part of the day was the sunburn I got.

Don't worry about it. I'm a bitch about surgeries and it was so easy. Buy protein powder and use that, and make sure you listen to the doctors orders, especially with the heat compresses.

The only bad part was the muscles in my jaw froze up about a week later and I had to massage the knot out.

Advice- listen to music the whole time. It's a comfort thing for me. I just had a playlist blasting the whole time. I had some Amon Amarth going when they put the needle in and I was so amped up that they had to give me 2x the amount to get me to sleep. I thought it was fun to see how long I could stay awake. I woke up to some Crystal Castles.

Not a bad experience at all. Dental surgery is painless these days.

OP here, my jaw muscles freeze up all the time and I really hope this doesn't cause any pain when amplified by the tooth...

Just do the exercises, stop being a bitch, and take lots of painkillers.

It's fucking easy and i'm a 20 year old pussy when it comes to surgery.

Honestly, it was easier than having a cavity filled. It's easier than having a scraped knee. Just make sure you have the painkillers ready for when you walk out (and yes, you will walk out), and pop one immediately.

Oh yeah.

You can walk out.

But you sure as fuck can't drive home.

Plan ahead.

I had all 4 taken out, 2 at a time maybe a week apart or something. They gave me vicodin to take home and some weaker pills. I only took the weaker stuff, vicodin unneeded.

I still have mine in, the top two are fine and fully out with no problems.
The bottom two, one is fully submerged, and one is halfway out, and it's been like that for a while.
Also I stopped going to the dentist about 2 or more years ago. lol
>> lol
Just go to a good or descent dentist. I got the two bottom ones taken out and it lasted for not more than 30 minutes.
Like what this guy>>252467said, the worst part is having the bits of food you eat get stuck in your wounds. That hurt like shit for me.

I never had wisdom teeth. It's not that they haven't grown in yet. The dentist's X-rays show that they just aren't there.

As a general rule, I try not to grow unnecessary body parts, especially not the kind that require surgical removal.
>> Anonymous
I don't get it, what is the point of taking out the wisdom teeth?
>> Anonymous
>>252974
paying dentists money.

My grandfather is a dentist, and he said I didn't need to take mine out. So does that mean I personally don't need to, or is this an unnecessary procedure overall?

It's sorta like circumcision. Sometimes, your wisdom teeth come out on an angle and cause problems and it's recommended you get them cut.

Or it's like your parents are jews, and insist you get them cut.

Or you are Genetically superior and not a Jew, and do not need to be cut, Enjoying your nice Nomnomnoming awsomely big teeth.

dentist can tell from your xrays if you need them pulled or not..

I had all 4 of mine pulled at once.. i had gas and a few shots, and i remember my head being jerked back and forth when they were pulling them from my skull, about a half hour or so into it I asked for and got another shot.

doc gave me a script for some pain killers and i took then the day of the appointment and the next morning, then didnt need any more.

its no problem at all.

>>253045

You got skull-raped?
Was the dentists cock too huge for you?
>> Anonymous
For me they had to pull all four. Appointment day (in the morning) I got on the chair, they gassed me, and it seemed like they spent 15 minutes doing shit until I came to. After the surgery I had blood coming out of my mouth regularly, which was really annoying and somewhat horrifying. Though it stopped eventually. After that it was really mild pain which sometimes escalated into really annoying pain, so I took painkillers here and there.

That's about it. The only thing that worried me afterward was my lower lip, which I couldn't feel for a full day, because I heard stories about people never feeling their lower lip again. Hope you make it, bro.

four taken out, two impacted. stopped bleeding completly after three days. its been almost two weeks but i only regained about 40% jaw motion.

pain was bad for the first week but only enough to make me take 600mg ibuprofins for when i go to sleep.
swelling lasted about a week and a half.

so...not too bad.

I paid to have mine out at a private hospital, so maybe I avoided the horror stories - the worst problem I had was with the general anesthetic and pain meds, I threw up for a few days constantly. Other than that I was eating normal food as soon as my jaw was no longer numb.

no difference whether its a private hospital or public...

i had mines taken out at a public (an ok one at that) and was completly fine

OP here, suitably relaxed about the forthcoming procedure now, the only problem is the fucking pain my tooth is causing me right now, I've been on metronidazole and taking paracetamol inbetween but it's still fucking killing me and I won't be able to book in to my dentist for a few days yet. I'm not going with another dentist because I trust the one I've been going to all my life.

my wisdom teeth grew perpendicularly, that is, their crowns point toward my front teeth. had the lower right pulled out. painless though terribly inconvenient because it hurts to brush and rice keeps getting stuck in the hole. would stick my tongue into it to check how it's healing.

but yeah, painless.
>> Anonymous
I had all 4 of mine taken out at once. I came home, went to sleep. When I woke up, I took out the gauze. i had stopped bleeding. I ate some semi-hot soup. Never once did I take any of my pain meds. I felt fine from the moment I woke up. The back of my tongue was a little sore, but no pain.

Getting 8 teeth taken out in a few days... Including all 4 wisdom teeth.

I'm pretty much terrified. And going to look like I got punched in the face.
