So evidently there are quite a few martial artists on /fit/.

I'm curious - how many of you are actually good?
>> Anonymous
None.

I just Box Squat the son of a bitch.

That's what I figured. I always see these fuckers saying the most retarded shit when someone makes a thread about martial arts. I figured that there must be at least a couple people that're decent though. (Ex: Me. I'm fucking good.)

i dunno if you can even call them "martial artists," they probably look like idiots

ranked 3rd in the country @ 58kg in wrestling [ canada]

Wrestling isn't necessarily a martial art as it is a sport. It's an extremely physical sport, but it's not really a martial art. Don't get me wrong; it can be applied for self defense in certain cases, but it should not constitute as a martial art.

As for me? I practice Boxing and Goju-Ryu Karate. I'm above horrible in Boxing, but completely horrible in Goju-Ryu. Then again, I started boxing eight months ago and just two month ago in Goju-Ryu.

Congrats on the wrestling achievement / ranking, however. Extremely impressive.

Kenpo is useless anyways, lots of handwaving and fancy forms for judges.

I'm a black belt in badassery.

Never had a single boxing lesson, won every fight ive been in which is about 25.
Been arrested 3 times for GBH so now im staying out of trouble, not going to pubs and bars etc as much.
I might actually start boxing but my stamina is fucking shit, so ill probably get fucked up in the second round

I used to do kung fu. Had practised for 3 years and was 'best' among those who practised in the same group. And one day when I practised with the guys from the better groub, BANG! Had to say bye bye to my right knee for two years... Still remember the stuff though

I practice fap-fu.

>>368619

>>368656
Kung fu is Chinese, not Japanese.

Tai shin mun. It's purely practical so no weird forms or stuff...

I trained for 5 years in Wado-Ryu karate and got my black belt. I look back and remember my karate as pretty useless for fitness and self defence.

I now study BJJ with a little judo and self defence (have been since March). Had my first Groundfighting competition 3 weeks ago. Lost both my fights - first I got tapped out after about 1 minute 30 sec (choke), second on judges descision.

Do you think you can match my wu-tang style?
>> Anonymous
im doing some gracie bjj and some jeet kun do, i love jeet coz its like strike and run away, but if you do get tackled bjj to escape, might add parkour but its not really a martial art. yes im a faggot who runs away

I have no interests in combat sports really, though I do practice a martial art.

Tai Chi Quan.

While I run for my cardio and go to the gym for my strength training, I needed something for balance and flexibility. It fit rather well.

Real funny thing is there are some movements and stances a person would want to work on their quads a little bit if they haven't already. I didn't have anywhere the problem during the beginning portion like some of the old people there did.

I did Tai Chi Quan too, It was good.

I've studied under Kao-Ken as long as I can remember. I have never been defeated. Until that day, I shall remain the world's strongest.

What's tai shin mun consist of? Do you full resistance spar?

I have been doing JKD for 8 years and its not " hit and run away" you're either lying or being taught by a washed up nigger. Jeet is about free fighting and the only thing that allows other JKD students to fall into the same category is because of the outline of the discipline. QED.

Boxing for a number of years, did some coaching.

Wee bit of muay thai (just started). Wasted a few years with TKD (totally useless).

Recently sparred with a BJJ guy, got owned. Don't listen to sensei: those takedown defenses don't work against someone who knows what he's doing.

I'm good.

I'm a high level ultra black belt in squats. If anyone starts a fight with me I whip out my squat rack and show them how much I can squat and then they fucking get scared and feel bad because their quads aren't as big is mine. SHIT IS CASH.

um.. latest I tried some shit like this was when I was about 8 years old:/... didnt do more than a yera I guess. To bad, would have been awseome to have kept going till now:P...

Ive had the idea of starting some form of "punsh the shit out of my mates" thing, as we all hate jogging and all whant to get in to shape. It should work, dont you think?. Draw insperation from bad action movies, agressive anie, and youtube "how to do" films with 1-2-3 steps on how to smack youre bitch.

YAY! We should hang out and...

God damnit...

I've been doing TKD for about 10 years, along with cross training in boxing, BJJ, and Judo. I think I'm pretty good and occasionally people will compliment my sparring.
