Ab workouts and running Anonymous
I've been pretty hardcore running for about a year now, but do almost no exercise (which would only consist of situps and pushups really - I don't want to bulk up at all because I'm a long distance runner) and I eat pretty good, stay away from junk/fatty foods and soda and only drink iced/green tea or water. I was pretty chubbz before I started but now I'm skinny, but I'm like skinnyfat I guess. Like, you can see my ribs, and then I have I dunno, a weird one-pack thing going on. From the side it looks like you can see them but not from the from... it's weird to explain but I'm sure you know what I mean. So yeah, I run daily to train for Cross Country.

I am about 5'9''-5'10'' and weird ~135lb. My goal as mentioned before isn't to bulk up at all - I just want my abs to be defined so that you can see them, so I want my slim build.

What sort of ab workouts can I do that won't affect my running? i.e. I don't want my abs to be real sore while I am running, that's no good.
I do my tough runs/workouts on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Sunday = long run, then Monday Wednesday and Friday are like 30-60min runs. So could anyone recommend some kinds of exercises I can do and when?

Solution: eat better, eat more. I was skinnyfat throughout my running days. Trained for a marathon in a couple weeks--probably could have done some real bomb fatloss had I actually eaten properly during then, because anorexic-style eating during that period just made me a smaller fat version of myself.

Point in case: eat very slightly less than you burn with as much running as you do combined with maintenance, continue doing what you're doing running-wise, and your body composition should shape up over a few months.

Pic related: me, 2 months on a 2000-cal protein-rich diet as opposed to < 1000 cal of randomass foods. Running daily, lifting every now and then for the additional fatburn lulz.

All jokes aside, SQUATZ build your trunk into a solid mass. Add those with some leg raises, toe touches, bicycles or other core training and you will A) make your core stronger which also makes running easier and faster [look it up at runnersworld, its legit] and B) develop your trunk muscles so when you work down your bodyfat a smidgen they will peek through.

Eat man, eat. If you run 10 miles in a day, eat 3000 calories that day. Vary it by how much you do. Diet is about 90% of everything when it comes to /fit/ness. The exercise is the easy part.
