That way your wrists will adapt to the range of motion and increase your flexibility without doing any pointless stretching. It's always a good idea to alter between normal squat and front squats, anyway. They beneficial to each other. For example, I do front squats on my dead-lift day to preserve my lower back.
Also, I've never had any problem with positioning the bar or having it rolling off. Try positioning the bar higher on your back. Now, deliver more squatz booty please.
