What does anon recommend for a starting lifting routine? I have read the entire "Burn Fat, Feed Muscle" book, I have understood everything and I'm ready to apply the knowledge, my only concern is what regiment should I use to start. Should I go by the book's recommendation for beginners which was:

3 days a week routine, full body workout, 1 exercise per muscle group, 3 X 8-12.

OR should I follow this popular routine:

http://stronglifts.com/stronglifts-5x5-beginner-strength-training-program/

StrongLifts 5×5 Beginner Program, 3×30mins/week, 8 exercises*, all 5 X 5 (except deadlift, dips and pull-ups.)

*=Squat, Bench Press, Overhead Press, Deadlift, Barbell Row, Chin-ups Dips.

Please halp!

I prefer the full body workout. I do 10 reps for each set (usually like 4-5 sets) but for SQUATZ, bench, and deadlift i do the 5x5 thing. Just make up your own routine from bits and pieces of others. Eventually you'll find what kind of routine suits you best.

Yeah I was thinking of adding the good elements of both but I was worried I might ruin the effects of both. I just want to get in in my head what I want to do, so then I can do it, I don't want to be worrying in the back of my mind I'm doinitwrong you know... I was thinking of starting off the first few week on the full body regiment, but doing the exercises in the 5x5 thing, it's just I heard a lot of good things about the 5x5 workout as well.

Try both, and go with the one you like best, or combine elements to your preference. You're going to have figure this one out for yourself.

Hm, well I know that I was just hoping for the best beginner routine.
