Skinnyfat -- how exactly does it happen? I think I suffer from it slightly. I've put on weight recently, about 7 lbs within the last few months. I've noticed little to no changes in my arms but my chest and stomach are more noticeable. I'm guessing it can only get worse from here. I don't work out at all which I'm guessing could be a major problem. I eat anywhere from 2-4 times a day which totals anywhere from 1500-3000+ calories depending on how hungry I am. Is there any way to balance this weight gain out or do I absolutely have to work out?

You pretty much have to work out. How else would you gain weight that isn't fat?

The only way to avoid skinnyfatness without working out is to do cardio and be a stickman.

How come it gets distributed unevenly though? I mean you see people all the time who aren't underweight that have "fleshed" out so to speak just by eating. However, their weight is distributed a lot better without working out. What exactly happens that causes skinnyfat, technically speaking?

Genes, sadly.

It is no secret that we mortals pack on unsightly fat as we reach maturity! Even I have been forced to moderate my intake of the ambrosial Barr's Iron Brew as a sop to my widening midsection!

Away with the Shepard's Pie and pints of Newcastle! Go on the offensive against remorseless Cronos and his ravages! Take up the iron and forge yourself anew! As you add inches of prime beef to your frame, your internal fires burn all the hotter, delivering you from a dark future of jiggling bosoms!

And don't even think about spot reducing fat
