hey /fit/
long time lurker, first time poster.
I've always been bold and chunky. Got 3rd in state for wrestling in high school last year. I'm starting college during fall and planning to do wrestling as well.

I don't have much time during summer because of work but I am willing to take some time out of my day in order to lose fat.

I am currently 250 lbs and 18% BF and I want to get down to a 13% BF and somewhere below 197 lbs (if that is even possible). What is the best way to achieve my goal? Running daily (HIIT)? Eating healthier? Weight training?

I hope you guys can help me with this I would really appreciate any advice.

I don't think you are a long time lurker.
A lurker would know the answer to your question.

Yes, I know the answer to the question, but I don't want to waste my time if I cant achieve my goal. I want specific answers, how often you guys work out and any success stories, etc.

I'm trying to bump down to a lower weight class so ill have an advantage on others, instead of wrestling people who are 50+ lbs heavier than me.

Do HIIT every other day. That's what I've been doing for about a year.

I used to be very chubby, particularly on the chest, stomach and sides. Now I'm very toned and have a great body.

Do HIIT - it's your greatest friend when fighting fat.

How long do your runs usually last and how often do you switch speed intervals?

Also, what sorts of foods do you eat? I have a job where I have to be on the move all the time. Come lunch time, I eat anything I can find. What is a good sort of workout meal that will keep me satisfied throughout the day?

What I always did was toss on a garbage bag under my shirt and run for a good hour. Sure its dangerous losing all that water but it was the only way I could lose weight even with all the cardio I did. With 18% BF, you will have to sacrifice some muscle mass.

Avoid working out entirely and focus on cardio. You won't be 'huge' for your weight class but you'll have the experience to make up for it during match ups.

since I don't want to strength gains, should be a veganfag while I am cutting, and just eat fruits and vegetables?

Depends on the amount of cardio you plan on doing. If you run 6 times a week at least 3 miles daily, you can eat comfortably and shouldn't have to diet at all since you'll be burning a lot of your intake and muscle mass.

If you don't plan on running that much, then stick to fish instead of other meats. Fruits and veggies should always be mandatory. Be careful of what carbs you eat though. No pasta, stick to bread.

Heh, I'm probably the same age as you are and I'm your weight. I don't know about the BF%, but we're roughly in the same boat.
