Hey /f/,

I've been hitting the gym regularly since the start of the year, gained a lot of muscle, but I don't seem to lose the fat around my middle like I want. So I found this workout magazine that has a 3 week diet that's supposed to help you lose (just) 15 pounds. Is this a bad idea from the start, or is it OK since it's only for 3 weeks? The meals are stuff liek oatmeal and fish, chicken and squash and spinach and bananas and berries & stuff like that, changing each week, it's not one of those fad diets where you only eat an egg and eleven pears a day.

Fail. If you're serious about it, start it tomorrow. Or right now. You don't need 100% knowledge or supplies to start dieting. Knock that fucking cheeseburger out of your mouth right goddamn now, don't have any 'last cheat meals before the diet begins', just fucking start the diet now and stop making excuses.

You're absolutely correct. Extreme central adiposity (lard underneath your stomach muscles) will cause the ribcage to expand. It's not your imagination, his ribs really are expanded.

I know because it happened to me.

Doesn't have to be. I lost 15 pounds in 4 weeks. It depends how much weight you have to lose... I was fucking 40% BF, so 15 pounds isn't that much to your metabolism/endocrine systemwhen there's 80+ to go.

If you want to lose fat, you have to do cardio and eat correctly, not diet. Download "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle" by Tom Venuto on /rs/. Thank me later.
