Heh, it will help if you don't touch the machine with your hands. If you run at a steady speed, you will lose more calories. If you do HIIT that everyone's talking about (High intensity interval training), you will lose more fat but use less energy. It's up to you.

God you fucking people make me rage! Doing one type of exercise is not sufficient for any goal. put some more effort in and do a complex workout geared at bypassing calories and getting to fat burning. This shit is simple when you know the science...
