Hello /fit/, recovering fatass here.

Lower Abdomen, seeking the grail of the packs.

I need to blast that lower abdomen, whats /fit/s preferred method of blasting that section? Sorry if this is same old shit, I'm trying to lurk more.

I am currently 149 lbs 5'8 inches

3 Years ago I weighed 194 pounds (moooo). After donating a kidney to a relative, I noticed that the fat had become not symetrical. I started not eating like a fucking pig / mcdonalds etc. And doing some situps / cardio / weights. I dont have access to a gym at the moment but would like to finish what i have started with the weight loss / toning up.

Thanks in advance!

Here you go.

Waist twists - four sets of 90 repetitions.
Sit-up twists - four sets of 20 repetitions.
Leg raises - four sets of 20 repetitions.
Leaning twists - four sets of 50 repetitions.
Frog kicks - four sets of 50 repetitions.

Couple months of that'll do it.
Good luck starting at 50 reps though.

compound barbell lifts, olympic lifts, handstands/levers/planches, the only "core specific" stuff thats really any good imo are planks, L-hangs/sits/pulls, GHD situps, ab-wheel rollouts etc. leg raises/flutter kicks/static holds are good too.

thats all the core strengthening i've ever done - last night someone said the P90x ab ripper thing would tear me apart, I did it pretty quick and it was easy as hell.

tldr; train your core not your "abs", lower your bf%

THIS is proper advice

why train your abs on the ground if they are never meant to be used on teh ground. very little transfer to real life (ie. endless ground based ab sets)

my ab workout:
squats, deadlifts, overhead lifts, olympic lifts, strongman events, and some gymnastic progressions.

and i have objective feedback on my core in terms of performance increase.

you wanna test who has stronger abs? frontsquat/DL for a 1rm. that'll show it real quick

Why does everyone think that the abs are the only muscle in the enitre body that gets bigger when you do sets with hundreds of reps.

If you did sets 90 rep bench presses do you think you'd get Xbox huge arms? No.
If you did sets of 90 rep squatz do you think you'd get Xbox huge legs? No dumbass.
If you do over 9000 crunches do you think you'll get a Xbox huge abs. No you fucking dumbass.

Do weighted exercise so that you can drop the number or reps down below 10.

but honestly, the number one most important thing in having good abs is low body fat. At 5'8" and 150 pounds you need to lose some weight before you will ever have muscular looking abs. And since ab exercises are not a good way to loose weight, I would suggest not making them your primary focus atm.
