Hey /fit/. First time here, probably a normal post for you guys. Going to try to keep it short to avoid a tl;dr.

I'm an 19 year old male. 6"2 and 280lbs wide build who graduated last year. Doctor said I should aim for 220 and anything under that will be hard to obtain.

I have chronic knee pain so I don't jog (The doctor said I should consider a cane until we find out what's wrong). I'm looking for at-home exercises and pacing for me to get into them. I tried squats and push-ups, but I keep fucking up my back. I believe I'm overdoing them when my muscles aren't too used to the work since I've been at home doing school online.

Diet wise I've only been eating when hungry, 3 meals a day. I eat dinner at least 4 hours before I go to sleep. I don't have a normal schedule due to my medication.

Any general diet tips? Food to stay away from. Decent/cheap food to fight hunger? I normally have a bowl of cereal in the morning and turkey or chicken sandwich around lunch. Pork, chicken, or roast in the evening with a vegetable side. It's hard to find anything that you won't get sick of after a week and I'm not exactly in control of what food comes into the house at the moment.

Thanks for any input. I'll be here for a couple hours.

Consider walking lot and climbing stairs, preferably swimming if there's a pool near you since biking might be out of the question as well. make you meal 6 moderate and/or small meal so food digest faster in your body. Also, high protein is key (wheat, meats, dairy, nuts, etc), anything type of white bread, potatoes and chips could fill you up but has starch and that is the enemy in a good diet. PLENTY OF WATER! can't stress that one enough.

Well that's my two cents for the day, if you do follow this you'll probably slip up and eat something fatty stuff once in a while but you're only human.

I've been slowly phasing out soda for water. Soda has been one of my vices for awhile.

How does pasta stack up as far as wheats go? It's a very frequent meal in my house since my young brother has very strange eating habits.

we've had good and bad options on pasta to fill you up. You could try wheat pasta if you're super serious about this. Also soda and juices as well, juice even with the vitamins is still liquid sugar. get some teas if like a little flavor in your drinks.

I actually have tea in the house but I've always had it with a little bit of milk and sugar. I'll try brewing a a small amount and chilling it. If I recall we have oome blueberry tea packets, I wonder how they'll taste chilled.

I can't consume alot of water for some reason. I love it's effects but I can't down more than a glass in a 2-3 hour period witch is a problem with my medication. They cause me to dehydrate so I'm always thirsty. I find myself with a glass of water with a small amount of soda for some taste.

Any input on at-home exercises that aren't too leg intense? Any heavy pressure on my left leg causes my a great pain in my knee.

Moderation/beginner's amount until my body adjusts is also appreciated. :3
