Problems with my hand Anonymous
I seem to have Carpal Tunnel or something similiar at the moment, pain throughout my wrist in arm. The main thing right now is I have a HUGE project report to do and it hurts my hand to type.

Position 6 here is where the pain is centralised. It mostly affects the area of my palm that feels most "pulled" by the thumb but the other fingers are contributing. It also hurts in the "opposite" position on the other side of my hand, I guess where the 7 is.

Are there any exercises I can do for this? I don't see my physio for a while and I need to improve it as soon as possible. Plus I play guitar and have had to quit.

You can't improve it quickly.

Take neurofen (anti-inflammatory), whatever comes over the counter wherever you live. Then go see the physio and listen to exactly what he says and do it. I've gone from taking drugs every day to keep typing to being pain free in about 3 months.

you could try NaturallySpeaking, but the learning curve is kind of high if you're on tight time constraints.

you could try contrast baths for just your hands/arms/whatever bothers you. Hot. Cold. Hot. Cold. Etc. fill a sink with water, immerse. drain alternate. Do for 15 minutes. 30 seconds one kind two minutes the other kind, some shit like that. Read up on it. You might get sick of it after many years like I did, and start doing shift actually improve the area.

MAYBE a quick 10-15 minute free weight lifting escapade might give you some kind of weird improvement in strength, but really for me this is conditioning over many sessions for that to improve my CTS shit.

Good luck.

My mom had what she thought was carpel tunnel for years but it ended up being a bulged disk in her neck. Do you have numbess in your arms? It could be something more serious. I would consult a doctor.
