hey /fit/

I used to do the following push up regimen every other night:

10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10

Is that an effective/worthwhile practice? If, I need a good, daily workout that's manageable in about half an our or so. I also don't have much space to work out. I'd appreciate it if you could post something about abs as well. Thanks

Press ups work the abs too, if you want to focus just on the abs then do crunches and make sure you tense hard.

If you can do that many press ups I'd start doing clap press ups or 1 handed. Claps press ups are like they sound, push up hard so you have time to clap before you hit the floor

Abs: 1. Do thirty crunches.
2. Immediately go to Russian twists (left elbow to right knee and vice versa.
3. Leg raisers
4. crunches then immediately sit ups (sit ups are just to keep the burn going don't expect to gain anything from them.
5. CRUNCHES then more RUSSIAN TWISTS.
That's a pretty basic ab workout to do when you have very little space.

OP here: Never been able to do one-handers. Any tips?

How many clap ups should I go for at first?

If you can't do at least four claps then you should just give up.

Also, not trying to get BIG so much as I am trying to get toned and lean. From what I've heard I just need to do cardio a lot to get that. Don't really know how to tackle that either.

If you guys have a good beginners' website for someone like me, I'd like to know it. Thanks

I find this works: that is, if you want to increase your numbers.

Once in the morning, and once at night appx time is 15 minutes each.

Max push ups i.e 50, rest one minute, max push ups ie 35, rest 30 seconds, max push ups again.

Then hit your abs with as much crunches, 30sec rest, then as much again then 15 seconds rest.

should be bigger in 1month frm tht

Wouldn't it be better to do the womanly sort of push up after you've maxed out? So that it will leave you with even less energy.

this is actually a pretty decent set up for what your working with , just make sure change the distance between your hands

for 10/20/30 keep your arms inline with your inner pecs, then for 40/50/40 line up your hands with your delts and back to 30/20/10 at the chest. Also for added resistance/stress to your workout position your feet on the first step of stairs (if you have them) or any square/rectangale object about 8-12inches in height
