What's the word on watermelon? Is it a junk food or wut? Should I just avoid it completely or is it a good item for ppls on a diet?

I love watermelons.

it's a very sugar-light fruit. fruit is healthy as fuck. you should eat at least one piece a day.

the trouble with watermelon is that people tend to overportion. they'll cut themselves this massive diabetes death-wedge and and say 'oh i'm so healthy i'm having one piece of fruit'

you don't get diabetes from eating fruit

watermelon is mostly water
that's why a serving size is so large and you don't get too full from eating it

one of the best fruits to eat

you don't "get" diabetes at all

>sugar-light
it's still sugar, and when you consider fruit versus food that don't have any sugar, it's still a lot. as far as sugar goes you just go by taste. if it's sweet it's got sugar in it.
so if you're trying to lose weight i'd cut out fruit altogether and look for other sources that provide you with the same nutrition that fruit does but without the sugar, like vegetables. instead of eating a piece of fruit a day, increase your serving size of vegetables (tomatoes are fruit but, just going by the taste test, you can immediately tell that they don't have a whole lot of sugar). once you're done with your diet you can reintroduce fruit and eat it instead of sugary drinks, sweet-as-hell "halth" bars, cereal, granola bars, candy, snackwells, fat-free cotton candy, all kinds of sweets, and anything else that your tongue tells you has tons of sugar in it.
