soup /fit/ i just come back from drinking heavily from the pub, but serious thread is serious.

I want to lose weight, I obviously know how to but if i do will my max bench and squat go down? because after all sometimes weight does mean more strength (look at world record bench press holders 350lbs+)
I can currently bench 200lbsx2, but im scared if i lose weight ill lose strength
your thoughts?

the world record bench press holders are 350lbs+ because they eat indiscriminately to get as much protein as possible. cut your calories but make sure you still get a lot of protein, you'll be fine. the only way i can see you getting weaker is if your muscle actually wastes, which can only happen if you starve yourself of protein.

Pros are at a level you are not. You will keep most of your strength, and the rest will come back.
