Natural Deodorant Anonymous
Does /fit/ have any recommendations for a good natural deodorant? I know that deodorant just prevents BO, but I can deal with that.

I've tried Tom's and it sucks. I've also tried the Adidas aluminum-free deodorant (They stopped making it. You can probably find it at Big Lots.) and that also didn't work so well. I know I'm not giving you an answer on what to try, but I'm telling you what didn't work. Yes, I know that the Adidas isn't natural, but it didn't have aluminum which is why I went for it. Cool idea, but just didn't work that well.

I personally think Tom's works really well. The apricot smells delicious. It doesn't have any antiperspirant, but your armpits will smell awesome.

Tom's is garbage. I use Nature's Gate brand Summer Spice. It's good, made with natural ingredients and you don't need much... I've been on the same stick for three months.

FYI, I'm Russian, so if it controls my body odour, it'll work for anyone (unless perhaps you're Italian or Portuguese)

I never have noticeable body odor. What is wrong with me?

Does Summer Spice smell good for girls? Is it too manly for my feminine armpits?

Yeah, but there's a scent for each season. You could try the Autumn or Spring scents, I think they're a bit more neutral. Summer spice smells exactly like you'd imagine it... spicy and manly.

I apply a salt crystal first if I'm gonna really be sweating that day. Otherwise I just use Toms..

Poster from first response here. I think I'll try some of that stuff.

ask other people before assuming that.

What exactly does all-natural mean? They put 'witch hazel extract' instead of its chemical name 'ethyl alcohol + water'? Who are you guys kidding?

First result was Crystal Body Deodorant. If this is what you are referring too, does the roll on work as well as the rock?

My sister is all crazy about natural shit. She uses this antiperspirant that is basically just a giant stick of salt that you wet and rub on your skin. I've used it before, and it works alright. I would just prefer not to rub a stick of salt on my skin everyday.

pic is random that I found of salt deodorant. I don't remember what brand she used.

My dad's been using aloe vera for a few years and he's never stinky. So there.

this is so fucking weird. I like using unscented products, and finding one 'natural' deodorant that works has been an exercise in futility.

Just this morning I was cursing the natural, hippie deodorant that I use and does shit.
I have tried at least 5 different ones and they all suck. I wonder if hippies did try them on athletic people instead of paper pushers and poetry reading fags.

Tom's sucks.
So does Kiss my Face.
So do the crystals (they also seem to stain the pits of shirts as a nice bonus).

So far, Im turning back to the classics, big corporation stuff. I still buy unscented.

I might try the 'natures gate'. if it sucks its coming back to the hippie factory. I dont care if they stink, but bitches dont really dig a funky smelling dood.

I have the issue of staining on white shirts with my regular antiperspirant/deodorant. I was hoping the natural deodorants might not do that. Damn.

Does anyone have experience with Terra Naturals or Burt's Bees deodorants?

I've been using tom's, but with biking back and fourth to school a few times a day I start to get stinky towards my later classes.

I like it just because it doesn't stain my shirts yellow like all the stuff with aluminum, but it hasn't been working good in the 100 degree heat recently.

I tried that, but then I broke out in horrible hives. It was miserable.

i hope you all know that the main ingredient in antiperspirants is a natural "salt"

That's the stuff I've been using for years. Works perfectly as long as it's applied to shower fresh skin. Then you've got a good 24 hours stink free.
