Once I began self-training I had too much eagerness and energy to allow myself to rest enough between workout days. I had such a hard-on for getting back in shape, I could literally work out until failure twice a day. Add to that paranoia about getting some fat (inevitable with a surplus of calories) and you've got some anxiety... what do you do? One word: *Stretch* If you are dying to work out but you know you shouldnt push it, then just do some serious business stretching. You'll feel like you accomplished something, because you will.

One challenging stretch, sit on the floor with your legs straight out and spread as wide as you can. Now take a heavy dumbbell and hold it behind your head. Lean forward and note how close you are to the floor. Now close your eyes and listen to a song or something for three minutes, then open them again... now look how much closer you are to the floor.

Sounds like a recipe for hyper-extension for n00bs, but a good idea nonetheless. I'm going to try it holding for one minute to start, and build up from there.

My favorite cheap, easy, tasty, healthy dish, (besides a Whey-protein shake):

__ One 5-oz can of chicken breast in water (drained)
__ One can of Glory Foods Sensibly Seasoned Mixed greens (drained)
__ One can of black-eyed peas (drained)
__ 1tsp of pepper
__ 1/2 tsp of salt
__ One large chopped tomato
__ Two chopped cherry peppers

Heat in a pot for a few minutes.

longer stretches are ineffective, you only need to hold for about 30seconds tops
