Sup /fit/. I'm at that point now where I want to lose weight. I'm wondering though, what are some foods to look out for when trying to lose weight? I don't mean obvious stuff like fast food, soda, candy, and all that jazz, just stuff that isn't advisable to eat when trying to lose weight.

Is it fried? Is it processed? Does it have High Fructose Corn Syrup?

If not you can eat it with no qualms, as long as you make sure you work those calories off. I chow steaks every other day, which would harden my arteries if I didn't also do daily cardio.

Generally its the drinks that will add on a lot of empty calories. Starbucks, Jamba Juice (or most smoothie places for that matter) can add a busload of calories without filling you up.

Be sure to look out for nuts. They can be great in very small portions on occasion, but don't overdo it. Know what is in your sauces, because they may taste healthy but be full of sugar. Um, always look at your nutrition labels. If the good stuff provided (protein, fiber) isn't worth the number of calories, then don't eat it.
