Stoppin' the urge Anonymous
Dr. Pepper owns my soul. I try to go to the gym as much as possible and eat right but I can't deny the sodie pop.

I tried punching myself in the crotch every time I gulp one but when the first testicle popped I kinda petered away from it.

Halp.

Switch to Diet Dr. Pepper.

Every time you drink a Dr. Pepper, pick up a knife and stab yourself in the gut.

Pain aversion therapy works wonders.

Old T-mag trick:

Every time you drink a Dr. Pepper, eat a can of dog food. You'll find out real fast if you like DP more than you hate dog food.

And dog food is cheap protein. Yum.

I'll try that diet dr. pepper one and if that doesn't work I keep a hunting knife in the trunk of my car.

If you're doing everything else diet- and exercise-wise moderately well then sodas arent a huge deal unless you're going through a case a day. At that point I'd be more concerned about my teeth.

My teeth are actually really well maintained, considering. My grandma used to whip my ass whenever it came from my teeth. No dinner 'til I brushed, no TV 'til I brushed. Hell, she was a nutter. So they're well taken care of. I just want to size down my soda moderation, ya know?

carbonated drinks are horrible for working out.

the CO2 in them gets put back in your bloodstream (ya the same stuff your muscles produce when they are used, the same stuff you breathe out.) and causes your bloodstream to be alot less effective at removing CO2 from your muscles during workouts causing you to fatigue a lot faster.

Posting while drinking a Dr. Pepper. Seriously though, I lol'd because I'm also trying to cut back on the Dr. Pepper.

I hear ya. I'm not concerned about the calories, but my teeth could use a breather from soda. Dr. Pepper is hard to turn down though :(

Any good drinks with caffeine (addicted) to drink while working out?

Quitting soda was pretty hard for me too.
My only saviour was that I LOVE lemonade (which is usually as available as soda)...so I would always let that be my substitute when I was tempted. That or water with a lemon wedge in it.

They say it takes 28 days to break a habit and I can vouch for that...after a month of NO soda, it has become very very easy to turn one down.

Now I never drink it...with maybe the exception of the ginger-ale/cranberry stuff my mom makes for holidays.

All it takes is some self-control. I used to think I would never get off of Sprite or Mountain Dew. I'd have one a day at lunch or dinner.

Then when I was telling my friend about it while getting lunch, he said, "Okay, today you're not drinking soda." And he made me get water instead. Then I got water the next day, and the day after that.

Now I drink soda maybe two or three times a month at the most. It feels like you're addicted to it but after 3 days, I didn't miss it at all.

You could switch to Diet Dr. Pepper if you're worried about gaining weight.

It's still horrible for you, considering how much aspartame fucks you up. But, it's probably the better option if you still want to drink soda without being a fatfuck.

The healthy and smart thing to do would be to stop drinking it all together. That shit's horrible for your body, diet or not.

I used to drink the hell out of Ultimate Orange when you could still get ECA in stores. Now it's mostly caffeine.

>>Formaldehyde can irritate the eyes and mucous membranes, resulting in watery eyes. If inhaled, formaldehyde at this concentration may cause headaches, a burning sensation in the throat, and difficulty breathing, as well as triggering or aggravating asthma symptoms.

>>Formaldehyde is classified as a probable human carcinogen by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has determined that there is "sufficient evidence" that occupational exposure to formaldehyde causes nasopharyngeal cancer in humans.

>>Formaldehyde can cause allergies, and is part of the standard patch test series.

Mmmm, I love me my Cancer Cola.

But seriously, try to stay away from anything with Aspartame or other artificial sweeteners in them. A recent study in California also showed that rats fed Yogurt with artificial sweeteners gained 3x as much wait as the rats that just ate the normal shit.

Dude, just keep a water bottle with you all the time. If you're keeping hydrated there'll be less temptation to drink anything else.

Aspartame does not affect humans the same way it affects rats. This is because rats and mice lack the enzymes needed to break down aspartame and dispose of it so it builds up in the liver and causes neurological damage and cancer. This does not happen in humans because we can digest aspartame easily.

aspartame industry much?
