hi fit,

I am an avid yoga and pilates fan, but i've been noticing a tightness in my right leg/hip.

When doing a butterfly stretch, example, i can no longer press my right leg/knee to the ground, while my left does so easily. In the lotus position, my left leg is fine, but my right is almost "resisting".

What is happening? Do I need to have a doctor look at this? Also, if its not a medical issue, how do i just stretch out a single leg?

Is this something that happened suddenly? Or did you take a break and this happened when you started again?

well, i didnt do my routines for about 2 months, but i seriously doubt 2 months is long enough to totally destroy a few years worth of stretching...

As sad as it sounds a few weeks without stretching can ruin what it took years to work up to. Itll take some time to get it all back but i promise you its quicker the second time.

dont get me wrong, i've lost my splits before lol!

the rest of my body is as flexible as ever, just not my one hip =\

You're right hip flexor is tight, I'm guessing probably due to the way you sit down. Work on the sampson stretche for a bit and you should be fine.

sorry, op here, in yoga we call it the warrior pose in ashtanga...i'm guessing thats what you mean...

is it where you 'stride' one leg forward and raise your arms upwards.
