Every single joint of mine pops. My doctor tells me it's normal, but others have told me to try a chiropractor. I'm only 22, I think I'm rather young for this shit. I tried a martial art I thought would be good for this (aikido) but it made it much worse.
Any idea why my joints are like this and what I can do? Is it really normal? I mean I can't NOT pop them. Even just moving around makes it happen. Everything from my thumb joints to my ankles to my pelvis. Also, I have pretty bad TMJ, probably related.
It's annoying and embarrassing. I'm not very inflexible and I try to move around in an agile way, but it's scary because it feels like I'm going to break or sprain something all the time.

I have the same problem. It's kind of funny when I do pushups. The first three I do, my bones sound like rice crispies in fresh milk. Ribs, shoulders, elbows, wrists. Everything!

The only thing that reduces it for me is warming up and cooling down properly.
Other than that I only ignore it, nothing can be done anyway as long as it does not hurt.

Yeah! Glad you know what I mean. Makes me worry about my joint health.
Forgot to mention this has been going on for many, many years. I'd guess at least 5.

My neck ALWAYS pops. I move it around full circle and I feel and hear small pops. My back also pops when I stretch. Nothing happens with my knees or legs. If anything, keep your legs from being bent.stretch them under your desk.

Stop cracking your joints on purpose and the involuntary clicking and popping should slow down on their own. Up your calcium intake from dietary sources and get some sunlight, the resulting Vitamin D that gets produced aids the body in calcium absorption. Get some omega-3 fish oil pills (I like the Kirkland brand), these will help with a whole host of issues for your body. After months of getting better nutrition from doing this and your joints are STILL cracking, I recommend that you get some glucosamine and chondroitin.

Also, I have this theory that some people's bodies just don't convert some amino acids as well as other peoples' bodies do. Even though glucosamine/chondroitin are marketed mainly at older people, they should help you out if the calcium and sunlight don't.

So basically all guidelines for better joint health through nutrition. I don't think I eat too bad a diet, but I'm not a health-nut either. I guess I just have bad joints?
The thing is, I crack joints voluntarily because if I don't they feel stiff. Once they crack, they un-stiffen. Sometimes it hurts if I don't do it and it feels like I'm going to sprain something.
I know I get some good amount of sunlight from hiking. I drink whole milk daily. I don't know much more I can do really other that increasing both.

+1 to the Glucosamine. Helps me out. In other news, if you want to hear real effed up things, my JAW pops. Loudly. You can hear it from about 4 feet away. Ever since I got wisdom teeth pulled. Ahhh.

Dude, the jaw popping is TMJ. That's what I said I have in the OP. It gets in the way of eating sometimes, and I can't open my jaw in a straight direction. Pops so damn loud now you can probably hear it in another room. And I can do it many times in a row non-stop.
There's a lot of info out there on it. It's fairly common. Apparently there's physical therapies for it.

I had TMJ before I got my wisdom teeth pulled but my teeth have been terrible for years. For serious TMJ, it's important to see an oral surgeon. Turns out I had a growth of bone in my jaw. Nearly thought I had fucking cancer.
They didn't tell me shit though, they just told me that there's no reason to worry about it.
