Hai /fit/! Anonymous
Fat fag here from /b/. I'm 6'2 and 285 pounds.

I started following a marine corp training regiment today. I hope to be able to join up with the army in about six to eight months. I am following the "inactive" regiment because I'm *surprise* inactive and fat. Anyway the regiment said to just walk a mile today and do pull-ups, crunches, and push-ups.

Now here is my problem. After I stretched I started walking the mile and decided it was too easy and began jogging intermittently. I'd say it was a 45 second jog for every three minutes of walking. When I got back home and was cooling down I realized my chest was really tight and I had trouble breathing. I didn't have actual trouble taking air in and out it just seemed like I couldn't get enough air to satisfy my body. It got so bad that I couldn't do the rest of the workout.

So /fit/ do you think I have asthma or did I just push myself too hard my first workout? I used to have problems with heart palpitations back in high school when I would drink soda before P.E. but I stopped drinking soda yesterday morning.

Also what's a good breathing technique for when you are working out?

it's hard to say whether it's asthma without actually testing... but everyone claims to have that shit now-a-days just to get the good inhalers... but one thing i can recommend is to put your hands on top of your head when having trouble breathing... it allows your lungs to expand more.

breath deeply try breathing slowly try not to take many rapid short breaths. for working out theres a breath in breath out time for an exercise im not sure which order it goes at

I actually did that for a good ten minutes and while it did calm my breathing down quite a bit my chest was still tight.

So I'm guessing that maybe I did overdo it just a little bit.
