Okay...
I'd like you, /fit/, to write me a cardio program for every other day. In between these, I'll be doing resistance but I wondered about a cardio work-out.

I have pretty much as long as you want in the gym but I'm still curious, would doing 2 hours at medium intensity be worse for fat burning than a 12 minute HITT? I don't mean just pootling along for 2 hours but making sure I'm dead by the end. ^.^

Go.

Heh, success!

If HIIT isn't your bag, do friggin' anything that allows you to reach your target heart rate of (230 - your age) * 0.7 BPM. Do this for 30 minutes to 1 hour; over an hour and diminishing returns kick in; you're putting in more effort for less fat loss.

If you dont want to run because you are afraid to hurt your knees, is it ok to do HIIT on a training bike?
