Work Out Routine Anonymous
Hey /fit/,
I recently began a new exercise routine called the daily sixteen. It is the marines daily work-out that can be done at any time without any equipment. It consists of (in order) a short warmup, 8 stretches for 10 seconds each, 8 exercises for 5 reps each, 20 minutes of jogging, 8 of the same exercises for 20 reps each, and the same 8 stretches for 20 seconds each. I've been going at it Monday-Thursday on and off (just got over being sick) And have been doing it two weeks M-Th for two weeks now. This week being the third. I've noticed I've become more muscular in my legs and arms, but so far have not had much progress with my stomach (biggest problem area for me. I weigh 260 and am 6 feet even. So I ask you this /fit/. Do you have any tips on how to help with my weight loss/muscle building routine, thanks! Oh, and pic related, its the book I'm using.

Gotta hit your food intake. Fat is all about calories in versus calories burned. It is much easier to limit your food intake than to burn off that food solely through exercise. And that's what your stomach size (and mine) is all about, fat.

Eat a better diet with less wasted calories (BEER!!) and keep up your workout.

Be patient....check your weight once a week and pay attention to how your clothes fit. Sometimes you can't see the changes that are taking place because you're staring at the mirror everyday.

So far I've stopped drinking, sodas, energy drinks, and sports drinks. I've also topped getting seconds at meals and don't eat a lot of snacks other then fruit. I don't drink alcohol often (like once every two months or so). Any other, more specific dietary tips?

So far I've noticed no difference in my stomach size and my clothes seem to be fitting as usual. Also my weight hasn't really changed any (Could be the muscle growth though since I heard muscle weighs more than fat). My stomach does feel lighter though.

If you can see muscle development in your arms and legs but, you're not gaining any weight; you're probably already burning off fat and replacing it with muscle.

Don't get impatient with your routine you haven't even been at if for a month yet. You're seeing some results already...be happy about what you've accomplished so far.

same thing I always say:

Prepare your own meals, avoid deep fried foods, and don't eat out.
