quick question, /fit/ Anonymous
my metabolic rate to maintain my weight is supposed to be ~3400 cals per day.
recently i've changed my diet: fuckyeahoats, rye bread, water only, lots of good protein, salads, no fastfood. i've been keeping a food journal since doing this, and turns out i only eat about ~2200 cals per day on average now (no idea what i'd eat before).

this is too low right, even if i wanted to lose weight (starvation response)? the thing is i'm not hungry. i eat like six times a day, whenever i'm hungry i shove something in my mouth. any more food would be forcing myself to eat. should i force myself to eat more, or just see how i go?

Aim for 1200 to 1500 calories per day, no more and definitely no less, under 25g of fat, and lots of protein, and exercise.

Sounds like you're kickin' ass. When I was 24, I was 5'8" 240lbs, and when I was 25, I was down to 155lbs. My astrological sign did not change. More or less did the same thing you're doing (including working out once, sometimes twice a day).

I was also obsessed with Natalie Portman for a while. If I were a Taurus, I would consider you some sort of time paradox doppleganger.

The point of this post is just to let you know that if you keep it up, good things are gonna happen.

As far as not being hungry, maybe your stomach has shrunk.

is that like, 260lb of fat? or mussel

i'm guessing fat, so you DEFINITELY shouldn't be eating 3400 calories per day. i'm ~6'3, 180lbs and quite lean and my calorie intake is like 2400. listen to>>192342, and do some exercise as well.

i'm pretty sure you don't have to worry about starvation response guy

You do not eat for maintenance if you are severely overweight.

Unlike what was said earlier, do not drop below 1800, you do not want to cause any catabolization, and shocking your system down to the 1200 range will do that.

You may want to start at 2500 and taper 100 calories off a week, until you reach 1800.

eat 20% less of [maintenance calories] for 2 days then [maintenance calories] for 1 day and keep repeating this pattern until you reach your target weight goal.

so 2 days eat 2720 calories then next day eat 3400 and keep calculating your maintenance calories and adjust accordingly

HE IS MORBIDLY OBESE, HIS MAINTENANCE IS SUBSTANTIALLY MORE THAN WHAT HE NEEDS TO BE EATING, ESPECIALLY TO ACTUALLY LOSE WEIGHT.

FUCK MY COCK.

Thats awesome. I was 234lbs, lost 20 pounds in 2 months, and am going to lose another 30 in the next 3 months, just in time for my 22nd birthday.

Its amazing how much weight you lose when you actually put in the effort.

Some people here are saying 1200 calories is all you need for a diet. I was doing that for a while but now I'm gone up to about 1700-1800, because Tom Venuto told me too, diveded into 5 meals a day. Am I right to do this? Its much easier to stick with wheny our not hungry.
