squatz squatz
what is the disadvantage to using the leg press machine instead of doing actual SQUATZ?

pushing weight at a 45 degree angle vs lifting at a theoretical 90 degree angle.

disregarding the mussels left out.

>>316046Just as important, it's impossible to look cool on a leg press machine. You're sitting on your ass, making it hard to really show off. Much better, then, to step into a chrome cage, set a steel bar on your shoulders, recruit a spotter or three, and really show off your lower-body acumen

I immediately disregarded this paragraph as useful information.

>>316046The squat not only works the quadriceps, as the leg press does, but it also works the muscles in the back of the thigh, the butt, and the back

I'm not going to doubt the verity of such an obviously legitimate source of information, but I did leg presses the other day and my butt and the back of my thighs are sore.

I think squats are much better than leg press, but that doesn't mean to neglect it. Switch it up sometimes. If you are deadlifting heavy that week, substitute squats with leg press.
