I know how to use it, just dunno for how long should I jump, how many jumps/minute etc etc. 15 min x 2 with 90sec break will be enough?

Don't do it. It's really quite useless unless you perfect your stance and overall technique. And even then there are better forms of cardio (maybe not as easily accessible as a jump rope but still).

Elliptical.

Run just to run. This is how most of us work it. You may not enjoy it but you can attach something that'll make it less "painful". I listen to music that puts me in a trance-like state till it's done. At my old gym, they had TVs on every treadmill and I used that, too. The time flies when you're doing something you enjoy.

Jump rope is pretty much the best form of cardio. You just have to know how to do it properly.

Jumprope is awesome

You can do all sorts of neat tricks once you get good. Reminds me of a yoyo.

Start slow (a few minutes a day) If you haven't worked out for a while and you go and do an hour of rope you could end up being super sore for a couple of weeks

You want to do 2 minutes of rope followed by a 1 minute break.

A good long term goal is to be able to handle 12 two minute rope sections.

As you get better shrink the break period between the jump sections (45 secs - 30 secs)

Don't worry about speed right away. It's perfectly fine to only go fast for the last 20 seconds of each 2 minutes.

Take it slow but make sure to keep improving.

If you start getting bored try to do some tricks or variations(one legged for example)

It's better to do it with shoes on
wooden floors are better than cement floors

I've got a jumprope it's a great cheap cardio work out you can hide in a desk draw.

Wearing shoes suck, they're too heavy, I just wear socks. Sockless sucks because I clip my toes too much and it fucking stings.

Jumping is a skill, if you haven't done much then you're definitely going to fuck up lots until you've developed it.

I do 100-200 jumps and then a bunch of free-weight reps or body-weight exercises, then 100-200 jumps and a different exercise. A bit like HIIT I guess?
