How do these foods sound, in conjunction with cardio and a little anaerobic exercise 3-5 times a week?

Breakfast:
2 egg whites
Throughout the day:
plain nonfat yogurt
plain almonds
some sort of tofu salad
Dinner:
lentil dish?
or
veggie stirfry
or...

I know I need to incorporate fruit and more vegetables in there somehow, but when I eat fruit during the day I wind up having to shit soon afterwards, which is uncomfortable and inconvenient. Suggestions?

Seems like you're trying to lose bodyfat and adequate protein is a must in a hypocaloric situation.

>OP here--also, I'm a vegetarian.

In THAT case, cottage cheese. In a blender. I am not kidding. 250 grams of it in a blender with a medium to large banana and apple and about 350ml of skim milk. Around 40-43 grams of quality, slow-digesting casein protein in the morning at between 400-500kcal (when I make them), it's liquid form
but, for me at least, is incredibly sating for up to six hours at a time.

Don't worry, it tastes really good. The taste of the cottage cheese is mitigated by the fruit and it just tastes like a thick smoothie. Get the nonfat variety and find a variety with no added salt if you can.

Also good for people trying to gain muscle who want to preserve muscle mass before bed - but with peanut butter and whey powder instead.

The cottage cheese smoothie sounds good, I'll definitely try it for breakfast. Although my family prefers 1% milk. Maybe I'll try a little of that and a little water plus the apple/banana.
