How has /fit/ness altered your resting body temperature?

For me, I feel cold all the damn time because I don't control the thermostat. When I feel it's a good temperature, someone in the house says its way too hot and turns on the air. I figure this means I have a high resting body temperature?

It wasn't like this before I was in shape. And about an hour after exercise, I get so cold I nearly shiver. Some nights getting to sleep, even a snugly-worn blanket won't warm me up nearly enough...

But I'm sure you're all the same here. Post it!

I don't think you have a fit body. Enjoy your lowered metabolism.

Yea my grandmother says it's our blood that is flowing quickly.
WHen i was younger i'd have shiverings after 4am, while playing diablo.
Deshydratation, lack of physical exercise, lack of food, sleep, idk.

Truth, if you feel cold often that's a sign of a metabolic problem.

Is that really what it is? Would this really indicate low metabolism?

It might sound obvious but when I lost 40kg this was a major problem for me. I was CONSTANTLY cold. When winter hit (which in Australia is not that cold) it was like my bones were going to break at the slightest gust of wind.

I would crack the shits when my boyfriend spent too long choosing milk or yogurt because I couldn't bare to be near the frozen section of the supermarket.

I have spent a few years at this weight now and it has gotten heaps better. I'm never as warm now as when I was a fatty. That fat was awesome insulation.

OP here. I lost 50 lb two years ago, and it's been like this ever since... I go running in 100 degree weather when I have to, and it's never a problem for me. =\

Cold extremities are a sign of low metabolism. The first thing the body decides to sacrifice is heating of the hands and feet.

So many thin girls have this problem. Touch their hands or feet, and see for yourself. Just watch out for slaps and cries of rape, though.

Yes, other symptoms are dry skin (mostly on the face), constipation, always being thirsty, lethargy, headaches, dizziness, etc.

You may not get all of this at once, but they're all a part of a slow metabolism. Anorexics usually have most, if not all of these symptoms. I only say this because I currently work security in a hospital that is specialized in mental problems...it sorta gets worse the higher you go up in floors (IE, level one is depression and shit, highest level is some schizophrenics and people with homicidal thoughts). Anyway, we get a lot of young girls here trying to recover from anorexia and bulimia and a lot of them complain of always being cold and having bad skin, and a nurse later told me about why and how a bad metabolism caused these things.

On the other hand, if you ONLY get cold after workouts, that's somewhat normal, especially if you're sweaty. Your body just went from being hot to cooling down relatively quickly, so it's a lot like stepping out of a hot shower and getting chilled. But since you mentioned feeling cold constantly, that may very well be to a poor diet causing a metabolic crash...or some kind of hormone imbalance (I read somewhere that women are more resistance to cold due to their hormones).
