Sup /fit/,I have a friend in Iraq and he's always bitching about how hot it is up in his guard tower. How do the lurkers of /fit/ stay cool? I thought about buying him one of those neck wraps. Do they work? I've seen commercials of an electric one for joggers, but I forget what it was called.tl;dr: How do you cool off?
In the summer? I don't stay cool. I live in Vegas where it's a hundred and fucking degrees everyday and i run outside at 1 in the afternoon.
After I come back from a run, I walk around 'til my heart rate's gone down, then I go to the fridge for a water bottle and I lean into the freezer for a minute or two. Also I like to put my sheets on the air conditioner vent and then when I'm done working out I take them and wrap myself up in them :3
Neck wraps are alright. They don't last as long as I'd like, so I'd suggest buying more than one.
When I lived in the middle east the best thing to cool off and stay cool was a noon dip in a shaded, below ground pool. Since the water is out of the sun it stays remarkably cold and sort of "resets" your internal thermostat. The rest of the day you'll feel cooler and more refreshed. Best of all if they build this thing (which can be really small, like 2m on each side and 1m deep) then everyone in the platoon can enjoy it.Try to remember to change the water before it gets disgusting. A fresh source is the way to go.
>>193090OP here, I doubt my friend will want to dig a hole, but I'll tell him. Thanks.Pic not him, but still funny.

I like to rub cool water on my skin and some on my clothes. It works like sweating
Tell him to shut the fuck up and be a man about it.
wet towel also works. i had one of those neck wraps once. it was filled with gel, you could just soak it in water or soak it in water and freeze it.
