Oh my god, it still surprises me when I hear of people who's parents didn't shove broccoli down their throats. My parents were really tough with this, I could whine all I wanted, but I wasn't getting away from my veggies.
Good for you OP for trying to start eating healthy!
1. Fruit might give you the shits if you eat alot, especially pears and such. Also, they have a good deal of sugar, but 2-5 fruits a day shouldn't be a problem.
2. Unfrozen are cheaper, and I buy those. I don't know too much about the effects of freezing fruits and veggies, but it's practical to store for longer periods of time.
3. Bananas are usually a good base for any smoothie.
Fruit smoothies are great, but don't forget your veggies in your main meal, they have the bulk of the vitamins and minerals you need in a good diet.
