The Whale's Vagina - San Diego /fit/fags Report Anonymous
Hey /fit/,

Starting a thread where /fit/fags can discuss being /fit/ in San Diego, a.k.a. the Whale's Vagina.

Even though this thread has the potential to derail into epic fail, I believe we can all vent, share a story, and have a good laugh about this weird-ass city of ours.

Pic related, it's where I live, the Costa Verde Apt. complex. I just KNOW that there are other Costa Verde 4channers in here, that go to the same gym as I do. (I'd like to have a word with you...)

Will bump the thread throughout the day.

Go!

lol...OP here,

I took a look at that thread...makes no friggin' sense. Reminds of why I don't go to /b/ anymore. Just cancer metastasizing on even more cancer. Kinda feel sorry for the OP of that thread...

La Jolla fag here, btw :)

Yeah Scripps is nice...gets a little crouded, though :(

Schools coming up, and the Fall seems to be the best time for surfing (correct me if I'm wrong)

Have fun :) !

I live in la jolla village, work out at bally's, either in mira mesa or mission valley, but mostly mission valley because there's a gurl who goes there that I want to fuck so bad

I just moved back from NYC, weather is nice but the pace here is sloooowwww. So sick of hitting the ivy or jack's, pathetic excuses for nightlife.

Any more info on the migration? Why? Regret it?

NYCfag here whole loved San Diego the two weeks he stayed there for weather. If I moved anywhere, I'd consider there. I'm already used to the hispanic level from being in NYC and being a mets fan.

I hear downtown is the shit when it comes to nightlife

Look into the "Casbah" (some popular nightclub on Kettner, I believe)

I'd also consider the House of Blues if you're into good music and food.

Plus, whenever we get a good metal band, we mosh like vikings...

Can't have too much fun now, though...grad school starts in 3 days :(

You really can't beat the weather, it's perfect. Obnoxiously perfect, like enough with the fucking sunshine already.

I grew up here but was never a 'cali boy' never surfed, skated, don't like sand, when I moved to NYC I felt like I was home. So much more going on, better food, better clubs, more interesting people, more eclectic, more culture, fast pace, 5 hours to fly overseas. I wanted to use it as a stepping stone to move to spain or italy or somewhere fuckwin like that someday, back at square one now. It's just like everyone is in a lower gear than NYC, like life is in slow motion, fucking military town.

tl;dr I miss NY bawwwwwwwwwwwwwww

I used to live about two blocks from there in the apartments just south of UTC.

Keeping this related to fit. Does anyone know any good places to do sprints in the North Park area? Any places with good tracks?

I've been thinking of just going over the Moreley Field but there's no real track there that I can recall.

Downtown is totally fabricated . . . then again, there's nothing all that cool about SD in general if you're talking about nightlife/culture.

For the longest time SD just didn't have a central "nightlife" area. Then they just hung a bunch of stupid lamps up, built a stadium and made a bunch of faux-lofts and tried to pass it off as an urban center. It's filled with shiny-shirt wearing, frosted-hair having douchetards that would be guidos if they were italian.

Me personally? I'm going to see Frankie Bonez spin at the Chicken Shack.

This one?

Yeah, I pass by it on the freeway everytime I go back home.

Shit does look awesome, though.

UCSD has a good track. I want to go there to practice my sprinting form very soon.

I do believe it's open to everybody.

How's the gym there?

I'm considering squeezing in a trip in my schedule.

When is the gym relatively sparse and have no people around? I like it best when it's not crouded...

>>304051

School just started back up, so it's pretty packed during the day/early evening hours. I would say early morning/late nights would be best to avoid the crowds.

It's the first gym I've ever been a member of, but they have a pretty decent selection of equipment I would say.
