Exercising to be healthy and live longer makes absolutely no sense

You're damaging/increasing the stress on all of your organs every time you exercise. How could this possibly increase your lifespan?

The diet/exercise industry is such a scam. Sure you'll look better but there's no way you're any healthier.

At first... I though, 2/10 for being so obvious.

Then I figured, it is so obvious, it could be real.

Then I realised that you meant to make it obvious so that I would think you weren't a troll when you are.

8/10.

Getting fit is excellent for your body, on the other hand, bodybuilding decreases your bodyspan, that's a fact.

Slow metabolism on a small lean body = living a shitload.

Fast metabolism on a x-box huge body = smaller lifespan (just think about all the stress you are putting on your heart).

Being fat = very bad
Being fit = very good
Being x-box huge bodybuilder = bad

lifespan, not "bodyspan", sorry.

Lifting is pretty good for you. Lifting doesn't automatically mean XBAWKS either.

Anyways... logevity isn't so important now. Just make sure you have some money available so that when new organ reproduction technologies pop up on the black market, you can buy yourself a new everything.

Eh, obvious trollage but I'll bite:

The answer is that living things compensate for the stress imposed on them. You know how your immune system gets stronger? You expose it to the diseases you want it to be able to resist (that's what vaccinations are). In the same way, regularly stressing your body makes it more capable of taking heavy stress or even unexpected stress. Trip over a banana peel on the way to work? The person who lifts regularly will not only have muscle to pad the fall, but he'll have much more resilient bones than Mr. Computer Jockey. The fit guy will wipe himself off and sport a bruise while the lazy ass will shatter his femur.

Lifespan is a different matter, though. We're finding out that your metabolism is something of a clock counting down to your death. The faster it goes, the greater the chance that you'll die earlier. Go figure.

Kinda works into the fact that we're not really supposed to live much past raising our young to adult age (15ish?).

I think we're built to go flat out for 35 years or so... at which point we're not actually needed and can burn ourselves out. Only now, because of our obsession with youth and fear of death, we all try and squeeze every last year out of our fastburn bodies.
>> Anonymous
>>156893

Yeah, the kicker is that our bodies age with a type of planned obsolescence. Our bodies are perfectly capable of being visually and physically useful until the day we die...but our internal chronometers tick us into oblivion for some reason. It'd be neat to see the day when we can slow down or even turn off that gene.

Eh, meant "youthful," not "useful." Oh well

If you are interested google "Telomer".
Those are the ends of the chromosomes and with every cell duplication they get a big smaller cause the RNA can't go down on the DNA to the end.
So a bit of DNA is always cut off at the end.
This is our "deathclock".
To summarize: every cell duplication brings us closer to death.

I hope I did that without error now.

There are bets on amongst the scientific communtiy, that the first person to live to 150 is already alive. They could even be in their 60s already.

Health tech is increasing all the time, the problem won't really be IF we can grow new organs/slow the aging process (finding the segment of DNA that causes us to age/calorie restricted diet without the diet) it will be WHETHER we should allow people to live for such a long time.

I mean, the world is pretty damn overcrowded as it is and the population is rising. If we solve the problem of aging and allow everyone to live youthful forever and cure all disease and illness... where the fuck are we going to live and what the fuck are we going to eat?

Although, if we do crack the aging genome and force evolution upon ourselves, we'll live long enough to colonise Mars or some shit like that.

Anyways. Keeping fit is pretty essential for longevity. Bodybuilding does place weird nutritional strains on the body that can burn us out a lot faster... but lifting and metcon stuff, with a good diet, will keep you as fit as possible for the rest of your days.

I didn't ask for your 2 bit opinion of what was easier or harder and I am not complaining, (Believe me you'd know it if I was complaining) I asked a simple question. I didn't ask for a lecture on how you or anyone else does things.

Ok when you become fat for eatting like shit ( and too much of it) and not exerciseing at all which leads to a heart attack dont come crying to me =D?

>> JerseyJackass !TwoDwkW3bI
Stop calling me an idiot and think about it for two-seconds you brain-washed mongoloids.
Yes being fat is a lot worse than doing exercise because being fat means increased stress on all of your organs at all times. People that do exercise while they are still fat HOLY SHIT you're going to die early. (See: fat football players) On average, someone skinny who doesn't exercise will definitely outlive someone skinny who does exercise, and someone fat doing lots of exercise is going to die VERY QUICKLY.
>> Anonymous
You clearly have no idea how the human body works. stress != damage. The human body is a chemically balanced machine. Exercise stimulates various areas of the body to work on making itself BETTER. Thus, more exercise puts your body in better shape.

Thats about as simple as I can spin it for you

Eh, did you click the wrong post link? The guy you tagged made no suggestions, gave no opinions, and didn't suggest you were complaining about anything.

>>157251
To respond to this,>>156888already enumerated the benefits of being fit: your body is more resilient against any stress imposed on it, be it disease or a roving band of angry niggers looking for blood. That said, nobody is saying that being being built like a rock lengthens your life over being skinny. The difference between the two, again, is frailty. If the skinny guy who never eats gets a severe illness, his body will lack the reserves necessary to see him through. This day and age that isn't so much an issue, but it still makes a difference.

you're one of those super low calorie diet people.

wow eat very little all day try to do as litle work as possible so i can live longer.

PUSSY THAT'S AFRAID OF DEATH

i would rather live 65 years of being strong, muscular, happy, satiated, and full of energy than 110 years of being a skinny fag who's hungry all the time, tired, weak, and a bitch.
>> JerseyJackass !TwoDwkW3bI
>>157258

it makes them work better presently.
Which kills them faster.
It's no secret that a faster metabolism = you just die faster.
And it makes perfect sense, you are basically just going through more life-cycles a day when you speed up your metabolism and eat more after exercising.
>> Lil Dreamer !UYwMl8CsAs
>>157279
>it makes them work better presently.
Which kills them faster.

no it doesn't. i.e. when you do cardio that makes your heart work at 70-80% MHR continuously, it makes your resting heart rate LOWER which then results in the heart being stronger. a stronger heart needs less stress to pump blood through your body at a rested state therefore prolonging it's lifespan.

a heart that does NOT excercise has to work HARDER and FASTER to pump the same amount of blood at a rested state than a heart that DOES exercise.
