don't join the damn army, you'll just end up in Iraq. And assuming you don't get turned into cat food by an IED, you'll just return home after your tour with a host of psychological problems that the government won't provide support for.

It's a good option. Gives you some purpose, some training, some experiences. Just make sure you know what you're getting yourself into--this is a dangerous world and America has many enemies. We are a nation at war.

Don't do it because "your life is going nowhere", those are the worst kinds of soldiers. Only do it if that's what you really want to do as a career choice.

You have to explore.

If you're getting an AA through community college, take advantage of the cheap tuition and experiment with different subjects. You can and will find your way if you look hard enough.

The army won't breathe meaning into your life like magic, nor will simply sitting in a classroom.

I suggest you look into army careers that translate into careers back home when you are done. check out all the medical field jobs (or other types of fields) in the army. I have not done this by the way, and I know guys who did, and are way ahead of us who did it "conventionally".. http://www.goarmy.com/JobCatDetail.do?id=9

Here's my story, not making it up.

After high school, I worked for a while washing dishing.

I enlisted in the Marines. Shit sucked in boot camp, I was among some of the biggest mouth breathing, ignorant fuckers I've ever met. You remember that one kid from high school who always skipped class, showed up looking like a fucking dirt ball when he WASN'T skipping classes, and likely did coke with his dad in his basement? Imagine YOU and 59 of THEM together in a platoon for three fucking months.

So, anyway, I was discharged after about a year of service for a torn ACL.

I came home, and realized the military didn't give me any direction and all of their discipline is fabricated. You just go through the motions because it's military law, but when you get home you're still the same fucking person you were before.

I enrolled in a tech school for computers. That was stupid as fuck and it was going nowhere.

Then, I had to go through a year of lethargy and introspective questioning. I was depressed, I was drunk half the time, I assumed I'd die before 30 because I had insight into the future. Then I stopped caring about everything. I stopped giving a fuck about money, education, my clothes, what I ate...none of it mattered. I was so lost that I just started volunteering at the Salvation Army to see what it was like for people who really struggled.

And I got a new outlook on PENIS PENIS PENIS PENIS PENIS SHITFUCKER

Nothing in the military equates to civilian life. That medical shit is worthless if you don't have a degree and a license from the state you live in. You'll still need to attend college to make a career out of it.

most lives dont go anywhere. try to enjoy yourself, and before you'll know it you'll be dead and have no more problems.

Don't join the army unless you think you'll enjoy it. You certainly won't make a substantial living unless you progress through the ranks in some way...

fuck army, go air force, treated better, better benefits
