Holy crap, /fit/. I took these pictures today on a whim and realized, for the first time in my life, that I really need to exercise. I don't have money for a gym, but I do have a bike and my thighs and ass are by far the worst. 2 questions: 1) I've been medically unable to do any bike riding or other exercise for a month - what would be a good starting routine? 2) What would /fit/ guess my weight to be? I'm 22 and 5'4".

I personally prefer running only because it's harder for me. To me it's a time issue. I hate the high impact of running (so I get where you're coming from) but I get the workout in 45 minutes of running that I'd get in 90 minutes of biking.

However, it's not worth it if your body simply can't take it. So I'd recommend biking for you. No point in hurting yourself.

OP again - found this thread's still not 404'd. If anyone makes it back here, thanks for the decent advice - SQUATZ and working up to 5k on the bike with bouts of hardcore sprinting it is.
