no, it's not "just a workout routine". They're meant to improve and workout explosivity and rapid response. They are not meant to elevate the heart rate, they are not meant to burn fat, they are not meant to work out legs, they are not meant to tone muscle. You can do explosive movements in a work out but you can't do real plyometrics.
You are either seriously going to fuck up your joints or you are not really doing plyometrics. Box jumps and ring jumping are some example. Seriously, be careful. Don't start thinking plyo's are just a way to workout. They are extremely hard on the body and should be done very carefully. If you're doing box jumps as fast as you can because you're overwieght and want to lose some lbs...then wow..hoenstly bro, just watching out for you. Be careful.
