First time poster long time surveyor /fit/:

My doctor prescribed me Phentermine for the duration of the 12 weeks the FDA would allow me.

I work out really hard (lots of cardio) but my appetite gets the best of me. I would over eat or grab snacks when the mood strikes (like when I feel super fucking lonely). I fucking looked like a refrigerator.

I've lost 40 lbs. in the last month or at least 2-3 lbs. a day if I worked out. (I skipped a week because of vacation) I just lost 3 lbs. just this evening.

is this normal? it seems like rapid weight loss to me. My doctor will start weening me off the medication on the 3rd month, and I am really scared that I might gain back the weight I lost.


I look much better and can fit in my old shirts and I don't wanna look like a fucking tractor anymore.

any advice to keep disciplined after the medication wears off?

Drinking a lot of water helps keep weight off. Try replacing all drinks in your house with gallons of water.

As for the exercise, if you can, find someone to exercise with. It's always better to have a partner.

If you just lost 3 ponds in one evening, it's because of what you are wearing. You most likely have something different on from the last time you weighed your self. Or you just lost water weight. Remember that 3500 calories is a pound of fat. I seriously doubt that you burned 3500 lbs just this evening, unless you exercised vigorously for an hour+.
Loosing 40 lbs in a month, with out exercise means that you aren't just loosing fat, you are loosing muscles mass, and water weight. You are gonna look and be a lot slimmer, but you are gonna have some loose skin, and you are just going to look "sloppy" as opposed to slim and/or fit. I think you should hit the gym to fill your loose skin with some muscle.

dunno. it's an appetite suppressant, and if the op is severely overweight then it might not all be fat and muscle. it's recomended to take phertamine in the morning, so if he doesn't eat all day, and has still got shit in his intestines then someone their size could be shedding that much in one evening i suppose. he might also be shedding fecal matter that, um, hasn't moved in a while you could say. you've also got shit like muscle glycogen that could be depleted by the evening, that can contribute a couple of pounds depending on how big you are. my body weight has varied up to 2.5kg (post defecation both weigh in) in a day due to that kind of thing, just hydration and glycogen can account for a bit of weight.
