Is it only beer that puts on a lot of calories? I'm not a BIG drinker, but I mean once in a while I'd love to sit at home with a litre of vodkam sambuca or something along those lines (spirits / liqour) and get ruined. How bad is it on your health? No, I'm not talking liver or brain, but calorie wise?

I wondered this as well. My drinking buddies always assured me vodka had no calories, but they're sorta stupid boozehounds and therefore not very intellectual.

I'd like some verification on this.

i hear your body uses up enough calories just to digest vodka, that it makes up for the calories it contains

or something

Okay, hold on. I did a bit of Googling. Apparently, a shot of vodka contains about the same as a glass of white wine, or about 100 calories.

Article goes on to state that since most people mix vodka, their mixers provide most of the caloric content. So if you're taking your vodka shot by shot, I wouldn't worry too much, if you're mixing with coke or some other beverage, obviously not so good.
