Zero-fat cottage cheese with splenda. Does adding sweetener to cheese sound sick to you? Try it, makes it taste like goddamn pudding.

1 serving (1/4 cup) = 14 g protein, 0 g fat, 5 g carbs

jello is pretty nice.

I like blueberries too.

grossgrossgrossgrossgrossgrossgrossgrossgross!

I don't know, I keep hearing about the adverse effects of artificial sweeteners on people who are trying to lose weight. I think I'll just stick to peaches in my cottage cheese...

Explain yourself. I just keep finding studies supporting the idea that artificial sugar makes you gain weight, but I haven't heard anything refuting that.

The only way they can make you gain weight is if you think that you can eat more because you are drinking diet soda. I've been using artificial sweeteners for years, and I never feel the urge to eat more. I pour like five packets of Splenda in my oats in the morning, and damn it, it's delicious. And I'm full for a good few hours until my next meal. Here's a good thread on artificial sweeteners as well:

Thanks for that link.

But honestly, I'm still a little confused. I read this earlier: "There was a 41% increase in risk of being overweight for every can or bottle of diet soft drink a person consumes each day." But it's kind of like the chicken and the egg - Does diet soda cause obesity? Or does being obese cause you to drink diet soda?

Anyway, even if it is true that splenda or other things like that stimulate the appetite, it's just a matter of self control.

BACK ON TOPIC! CHECK IT OUT, GUYS, TURKEY DOGS! 45 calories each! Delicious.

tons of sodium. Heart attacks.

I just mix stevia + water for a sweet drink snack. Otherwise I'll eat air popped popcorn or grapes.

Artificial sweeteners are cheating.

Turkey dogs are no better than regular hot dogs really.

So I drank two bottles of diet pepsi today and I have a 92% chance of gaining weight from that? Psh.

If you honestly think that, I deeply sympathize for you.

I give up google, you win. You managed to find a thread on 4chan in an hour and a half, cache it, and have it show up in relevant searches. Game over.

It all comes down to correlation versus causation. These studies find links between artificial sweeteners and increases in weight, and with some clever spin it sounds to the layman that there is a clear medical link. Bugs the crap out of me.

a slice of low fat cheese. there's also these Japanese rice cakes that are both salty and sweet, I have no idea what they're called (not arare), they're round white discs that are salty, but they're lightly coated with hard white sugar frosting. only 1 cal. per disc.

Uh oh, my AP statistics education is kicking in...

Technically, you can only determine causation if the study included an imposed treatment, as opposed to if it was merely an observational study. So, based on the study I read (with the 41% blah blah,) there's still no evidence to support that diet drinks CAUSE you to be obese.

You - Find out what these are called, stat.
