I recently got diagnosed with slight Genu Valgum (knock-knees). It doesn't look like it at first glance but I can notice my knees are closer to each other than normal upon further examination. If I straighten up my legs and make them touch each other I can clearly feel how they are bulging against each other.

Is this why I've always been unable to run as fast as most people?

possibly...also, is it a structural problem or allignment?

orthotics, proper balancing and posture can help to decrease it somewhat.

I'm knock-kneed. I also used to be pigeon-toed, but I make an effort to not look like I just stepped off the short bus when I'm walking. No braces whatsoever.

way to prove you are not a PT

do you know what that means? All it means is that it's a moveable joint.

could be..no matter what condition someone has, the worst thing they can do is become sedentary . you need to keep active and keep moving and stop letting it get worse. don't start doing heavy squats but go to a physical therapist and start doing some exercises to strengthen the joints

Real physical therapist here.

If the valgum angle isn't very large, you'll be ok. Otherwise it could cause stress on your menisci and lead to arthritis (Not fucking arthrosis) and then leading to a total knee replacement surgery.

Go see a PT to look after you. It's better to correct it now than to suffer later.
