Hey /fit/ seriously i dont know the name for it, but can i call them ruptures? Im not that fat, but i'm beginning to see these fucking red scars on my stomach getting progressively worse everyday. It really sucks, how do i make them stop/go away?

Stretch marks, caused by putting on alot of weight too fast and tearing the second layer of the skin. You have them now, its permanent and will slightly fade in years.

Yah stretch marks. The image looks pretty much like me.

Honestly, the only answer that can come to mind is don't get more fat. When I first got them, I felt them forming sort of. I was like fuck...Then they just grew bigger and bigger those few weeks. I don't understand why I was getting them at the time they formed, I was hardly eating anything and I was walking a lot.

Old wives' tale. Cocoa butter doesn't work, save your money.

You can probably get them lasered off or something with the amount of cosmetic surgery available privately these days, but its obviously going to be costly.

I have some stretch marks on my arms, they were purple and very noticeable at first, but faded significantly over the years, especially after getting a little sun. Now I can barely see them.

Costs around £400 for laser surgery apparantly. Might buy it myself next year.

Be glad it isn't your arms. I have some there that faded except for one spot that is dark purple. It's really noticeable D:

I have some on my thighs from when I had to put on about ~30 pounds ):

To me though, they're battle scars with a history.

I have a fucking ton of them, but after I lost around 50 pounds they look like body tatoos now.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO. This doesn't work. Using cocoa butter or ANY kind of lotion only works to PREVENT stretch marks. Stop spreading this rumor, christ.

Get this Bio-Oil stuff. I've been using it on my hips (not fat, puberty ;___;) for a few weeks now and it really works. Make sure you use it every single day though.

Some people don't get them no matter how much weight they put on and some people get them from gaining 10 pounds. Also you can get them from losing weight too.

overpriced shit is overpriced

topical lotions/oils aren't going to do anything to prevent/correct stretch marks. why? because they only affect the outermost layers of skin... stretchmarks are caused by rifts in the skin at the deepest layers.

I happen to consider my couple of stretch marks at my pec inserts to be something cool, and appreciated. It took a lot of hard work to get those.

I thought they were obtained only when gaining fat. I was wrong a couple years ago when I got them in the same place as>>187660. I was like, wtf. Dunno if I got them from my muscles getting bigger or bringing my arms too far back when going down for dumbbell presses.

That's pretty reasonable.

I had these while growing up as a kid, a bunch on my back, one on my arm and deep ones on the back of each thigh.

I was of a very steady weight, not overweight, not skinny although I did start weight training and gym workouts pretty early.

I was even passed on to a dermatologist for some research into it, and they never could work out why i got them why I got them. All the "solutions" were crap and had no effect in reducing the colour while they were new.

Years on the ones on my back and arm healed up nicely (small "silver" scars). The two on my legs are healed, but due to how deep they were still quite visible.

Overall, they suck, but nothing you can do about them so learn to live with them.
