Hey, /fit/, I've been doing what I thought was HIIT the past month or so, but now that I read about it online, I think I may have been doing it wrong. I did it on the bike with the following "routine":

-6-7 days a week
-resistance setting at 5 out of 8 (high resistance)
-50 minutes + 5 minute cool down,
-30 seconds 90-100% followed by 1 minute at 40-50%

Am I completely off here, is that worth anything? Help/advice is much appreciated.

interesting. in that case *I* am doing it all wrong.

30 seconds on, 2 mins off! but I have a few sources that agree with me:
http://www.exrx.net/FatLoss/HIITvsET.html
http://www.askmen.com/sports/bodybuilding_100/135b_fitness_tip.html

basically, between bouts I let my HR get down to about 150-160 or so, takes a few mins. I suppose it's different for everyone but I'm unfit right now (not op)
