Powerlifting.

I'm doing Judo and Boxing (strange mix, I know), and even if you fight with technique and not power, being stronger than your enemy makes it a lot easier.

1.) Get a tub full of puppies.
2.) Stomp the shit out of the puppies.
3.) ????????????
4.) PROFIT!!!!!

I think he should max out his endurance for a few weeks before getting into the powerlifting.
Also emphasize on things that'll enhance his twitch fibers because quickness usually decides a fight, unless your 100 kilos less then your aggressor, then you can run the fuck away.
Anyways muscles and martial arts obviously increase your chances of success, most people are pussies anyways, yet what wins fights is ferocity, fucking animal rage.

working out =/= fighting

You obviously dont know shit about fighting because no workout will help you learn to fight. I should KO you just for saying that bitch nigger.

You want to learn how to fight? Or you want to be in fighting shape?

As great as being able to do a bunch of squat thrusts is, it's probably not the fastest way to learning how to defend yourself in a real world situation. And you could run several miles a day, but unless your fighting strategy involves running, it won't really help you.

>>352112here.

To clarify my view without OPs answer, if you want to learn how to fight, start training a fighting art as soon as possible. Pick something that suits your goals and personality. For realistic self defense in a street situation I'd recommend a striking art like wing tsun or wing chun kung fu supplemented by some ground training if the school doesn't offer it. Muay Thai is also an excellent striking art. Doesn't really matter. Someone with heart and fight in them that does any sort of martial training will usually do better than someone who doesn't.

I LOL at the guys that think strength, explosive strength and reactive ability are less important than technique for a street fight. Technique may be important at high-level (something you are not) competitions with weight classes, but an actual fight on the street is not a matter of relativity like so. I am sure that if someone who was snatching 250 pounds, military pressing 225 actually fought a /fit/ user, with the record military press among you probably 110 pounds, that you would have your ass kicked. And then again none of you guys ever even learned how to fight, you just watched a few UFC matches on youtube and through punches in the air thinking it made you an authority. Man I really wish I could just dropkick some people's asses through the monitor.

This is absolutely true. But I personally believe that this increases the importance of technique in the real world. The simple reason: it would be unusual for an attacker to think that they are at a physical disadvantage when selecting a victim. An aggressor usually would view themselves to be bigger, faster, stronger and more skilled than the target they are sizing up. In a real life self-defense situation, I think the only prudent thing to do is to assume that your attacker is going to be stronger and faster than you.

A 110lb woman wants to learn to defend herself from attackers. What do you tell her? Go lift weights for years, take supplements, maybe steroids and try to build bulk and strength to hopefully be able to take on a 250lb monster of an attacker?

There's always going to be someone bigger and stronger than you, and they're likely the ones that are going to decide to fuck with you.
>> Anonymous
what sort of attack scenarios do you envision?

are you being stalked by roving gangs? do you have a bully? unruly drug-dealing neighbor? do you walk past bars at 3am?

like everyone has said, attackers almost always only attack when they feel they have the advantage. the advantage could be surprise, isolation, or their homies backing them up.

buy a gun, learn to use it, profit.

still exercise and take up a martial art. you're not going to become a streetfighting champion, though.

Strange mix? THOSE ARE THE EXACT MARTIAL ARTS THAT CAPTAIN AMERICA USES. METHINKS THE COMIC BOOK FAN DOTH SAY TOO MUCH.

Anyone who's ever boxed in Mexico will know why Krav Maga works. In Mexico they spar as if its a match, there is no holding back. Every punch those guys throw is full strength.

This makes Mexico one of the top world champion producing countries in the world.

Krav Maga = NO QUARTER. You train as if SHIT WERE REAL SON, AND THE GUN IS LOADED. You don't fight 1v1 or in a ring, there is no 'art' involved. Krav Maga is a skill.

tl;dr Krav Maga is the only shit that actually works in real life self defence, because you learn to prepare for nothing but those situations.

The Chinese and Japanese Karate schools were doing this before mexico had discovered tomatoes for their tacos... The biggest influence in learning how to fight is PRACTICE. You could learn the best technique ever invented, but if you are slow at it and have to think about it, you aren't going to use it.

Being a fighter is something that's in your blood, you got it or you don't. Just learn to defend yourself.

Two things:
1. Muscle Strength: high weight lifts
2. Muscle Endurance: high reps of any weight and cardio, lots of cardio (jump rope>running outside>running on a treadmill>cycling anywhere.)

I agree. Trained for years, only weigh 145 pounds at 5'11", still work out on a daily basis (endurance mornings, weights afternoon.) I can kick the shit out of people a lot bigger than me not only because of all the training, but because even as skinny as I am I train a ton of endurance and strength.

Speed *IS* important in a street fight, though. If someone 250 pounds pins me down, I'm pretty fucked. But if I can stay mostly out of reach while pummeling them, I win. Normally after about 5-10 quick punches to the face big guys drop their head down. Crack them in the back of the head/upper back until they drop. Laugh at them for thinking a skinny fuck isn't mean afterwards.

OP here, I'm a faggot that gets beat up by girls

Holy balls /fit/.

I mean, I understand that it's a fitness board, but saying that conditioning > technique is really fucking stupid. I'm no world champion and I've beat the hell out of bigger, stronger guys before. It's not hard. My recommendation to all of you big motherfuckers that think they're hot shit: go to a Jiu Jitsu gym or a boxing gym. Or a Judo gym. Or a Muay Thai gym. Pretty much anywhere that trains a legitimate fighting art, and pick a fight with someone smaller than you. My bet is that the little 150lb purple belt in BJJ will tap your big 230lb ass out no less than 4 times in the first 30 seconds of the fight. Or just go check out the first few UFC events on youtube or something. Watch and be amazed as Royce Gracie beats dozens of bigger, stronger opponents with ease.

Also, to the guy that said that Wing Chun is a legit striking art: Fuck you. You're fucking stupid.

This.

Although I've seen some nasty WingTsun practitioners in action before. I'd have a hard time telling them that they weren't legit. Don't really know about wing chun or what the differences are.

I am going to tell you straight
Boxing is a sport and is for faggots.
Full combat karate is a shit
Kick boxing is too held back.
Brazillian JEW jitzu is for wepon techniques and has nothing to do with self defence because no one actully pulls you by the wrist or by the back.

Muay thai is the best offensive martial art there is.
>> Anonymous
>>352287here.

Wing Chun = Wing Tsun. And as a rule, all Kung Fu other than Sanda is crap and should be treated as such. Wing Chun/Tsun can be effective, but at that point it's really moreso that the 'nasty' individual in question is somewhat talented naturally, and would probably be much, much nastier is he'd been training in something more effective.
