BOXING Anonymous
I've NEVER attended a boxing gym, yet I love all aspects of boxing training.

Anyone else in the same situation?

OK, I'm no champion, but I love boxing in my training plan.

Everytime I hit the bag, I get a satisfying urge to RAGE.

Behind every punch is fire. Thus; leading to a intense workout routine.

I'd normally hit the bag non-stop for around 1 hour, mixing it up with some kicks, elbows and headbutts.

Great way to burn fat and get in shape!

Who's with me?
>> Anonymous
im with u, only that ive trained in gyms and sparred with some of the best

try it sometime

regardless of some replies in this thread

hitting the bag is the KEY to be able to defend yourself on the streets

any boxing trainer will tell you, only a heavybag is needed to become a good striker.

If you want to get technical OP, what you are doing isn't boxing.. There are no kicks, elbows, or headbutts in western boxing. You are doing a spastic form of vale tudo (MMA, whatever you'd like to call it), or if you prefer Lethwei.
>> Anonymous
so you're LARPing boxing in your basment as a form of exercise?

Goddamnit. Atleast read this:

80% of the time while heavy bag training, my fists are connecting with the bag, which is boxing, no?

using kicks, elbows and knees is BETTER then this shitty western shit, since you're using more tools.

it also spices up the workout.

the only way to become a competent fighter is to actually fight someone.

if you haven't even sparred you aren't a fighter. you're a dreamer.

>>366950
When did I say that it wasn't better? I simply said that it WASN'T boxing, which it isn't.

Go do your homework, or atleast tell us how to "train" for boxing?

Please?
>> Anonymous
>>366924

you have never sparred with anyone worth talking about. Go back to playing fight night.

>>366958

oh sorry, I didn't realize you were fluent in boxing techniques without ever attending a boxing gym.

Silly me for thinking you could use a book with well explained pictures and descriptions to actually show you how to punch and string them into combinations, versus flailing on a heavybag like a retard so you could "develop your own style" like a 10 year old trying to imitate DBZ

>>366969

again, some dumbass thinking hes the only good boxer out there

sparring isnt fighting untill unconscious, so gb2momsbasement, perhaps?

>>366971

anyone with 2 hands capable of impact can be a boxer, get over it.

people SELL training, if you put the money in, you can be turned into a champion

stop thinking you're so gifted, mmkay? because you're not.

For the last time, you idiot.. BOXING - the style is defined by the use of footwork and hands, ONLY HANDS.

What you are doing is Burmese Boxing(Lethwei), Vale Tude, Retard Flailing, whatever.. Don't try and sounds smart, you've said it yourself you've never been to a boxing gym.

Not true, there are a couple things to learn before you can generate real power and not get yourself knocked out in the process.

>>366971
this guy is kind of a dick but I see his point. it would do you a world of good to spend a couple of hours reading up on proper form or with a guy who knew how to box. just to make sure you're doing things the right way

More tools =/= better.

I fight with all those tools, but also my tongue and eyes.
I always lose.
I am you.

>>366974

why is this guy posting? 400lbs of fail. The only fights you have been in were done from your computer chair.

I win. buy a mac.

footwork isnt hard to learn, once you've learnt it you've learnt it

and are u guys aware of the time? it's 2009 almost

professional fighters travel to gyms for SEMINARS, people actually pay lots of money to spar/get their ass kicked from their faviroute fighter

if you're going to post on the internet, forget you are a basement dweller with no job, and take the FACTS into consideration

gym membership is cheap
but if a fighter is doing a seminar you'll have to pay LOTS and booka place that night..

do you guys ever leave the house? jeez..

I also love hitting the bag and have never been to a boxing gym, although I have done some martial arts training so I know how to hit.

IMO it is a very good workout. leaves me winded, sweaty and exhausted every time. I either hit the bag to music or the Bas Rutten MMM fighting system. Mostly I like the 3 minute rounds and it is great motivation/push to have him calling out shots. It pushes me to us all of my energy.

about all the sideways talk...
for fighting using a heavy bag will teach you a lot about hitting which will really help. But it does not teach you how your opponent will move and strike back.
heavy bag is a much better option than to go out looking to fight all the time. Best idea in fight situations is to walk away or run if need be. but when it is time GO BALLS OUT TILL THEY ARE DEAD OR IMMOBILE.

finally, someone who talks openly, without thinking the world resolves around him

people use the heavy bag as a SEGMENT of a training program, not to learn how to Box professionally.

right? ^_^

also, i'll check out this bas rutten thing, love the guy, so i'll probably get motivated by him demanding that i suck his penis

boxing has always be known for its obsessive endurances

who the fuck doesnt love hitting a bag?

even better hitting someone in the face, but meh

FUCKING LOLD... Fire behind your punches + 1 hour non-stop does not compute.>>366913

Man, you could be a champion. Not even Tyson or Ali could punch the bag all out non stop for an hour.
>> Anonymous
>>367857
after a heavybag workout u won't need to go outside and let some steam off on some smaller guy, i think thats the message. at the same time keeping fit.
>> Anonymous
>>367859

its not about power, if your fists are moving in the direction of the bag then its very conditioning, the love standing there swetting balls.

after so long your punches wont have any power behind them at all.

to go for this long, you need to hydrate yourself properly, i once had 5-6 litres of water for a HEAVYBAG SESSION

I agree that one hour non-stop is a bit of a stretch.
Just like mount everest is a bit of a mountain.
>> Anonymous
>>367960
1 hour per day is about right for a novice, or for someone who's in a rush to get fit

hitting the bag doesnt really strain your muscles, unless you hit too fast and something comes out of place

long lasting endurance work on the bag is an ancient art, all fat people should do it, why leave the slim guys all the action?

fat people suck,.

boxing is the best way to keep fit and strong nowadays
