Burpees & lower back pain Anonymous
Hey /fit/, I need your help:

I've been doing the prison workout for a few weeks now (only 55 everyday), but lately my lower back has began to hurt, particularly while kicking the legs back to the squat postion.

I think I'm doing a good form, I don't droop my hips while doing the pushup but I do arch my back like in the picture, I can't do otherwise... (in b4 "that's a squat thrust", I'm using the picture for reference).

Could it be because my lower back's muscles are strain or something like that?

I do have an steel bar that constrain five cervical discs between the thoracic and lumbar regions, but it practically doesn't affect greatly the flexibility of my spine, neither it annoyed me in the last few weeks.

Please /fit/, I don't want to stop doing my burpees, any tips will be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried planks ?

Land on the whole foot when you return to the squat. You'll have a severe slouch in your lumbar spine, but since you're not using any additional loading in the jump squat portion of the burpee, you don't need to sweat it. Landing on the forefoot there really fucks you up. Also, keep your body in the hollow position during the push-up phase.

No, but I'll surely try them, thx.
My core strength is indeed weak, could it be the problem?

Land on the whole foot; got it...
Just to be sure, by "keep your body in the hollow position" you mean I should do like in the picture, right? (english is not my native language)
Thx for the link too

Maybe you just need a longer recovery period before you get back into it. Do some bicycle crunches to give yourself a stronger core, that could take the load off of your back.
