ammonia sweat answer Anonymous
hello /fit/
last week I was asking about ammonia smell in my sweat. I got many non answers, one that was complete shit, some trolling and a couple good suggestions.

the two best were;
why dont you google?
and
are you eating a low carb diet?

well after changing my eating schedule slightly the answer is/was very easy to find.... more carbs.

my changes included drinking OJ in the AM. eating breakfast (oats) b4 morning stationary bike and to drink a home made sports drink.

thanks for the few who helped and the rest can just get bent.

peace

hey look one of the good people I was mentioning.
nice to see you again Vegitto brah.

funny thing is on Friday I got the best distance in my cardio bike and only thing I did was have 2 crackers and a glass of OJ... this on my most worn out day -from a week of cardio, calestenics and 10X10 3 times. just goes to show you DO need proper fuel.

Did anyone bother to mention that when your body utilizes protein a byproduct is ammonia ?

Your kidneys turn it into urea, which you piss out, if you are not drinking enough water while protein loading, your body will probably be trying to get it out any way it can, ala sweat.

If you are not drinking enough water in

Drinking water doesnt matter if your body can't absorb it.

feel free to read the original post brah..... where I talk about home made sports drinks that seemed to be part of the fix.

to better address your reply, sort of yes. it was said when there is a lack of carbs the body will burn protein, therefor the suggestion to take in more carbs including sports drinks. after looking at my menu and schedule it was obvious I was always low on carbs when working out... not to mention a calorie deficit in general.

Upping the carbs (as well as calories), eating at better times and adding sports drinks has made a huge difference and the smell is mostly gone.
