At some point a few years ago DDR stopped being fun to me but if I really cared and took it seriously I'm sure I could dominate by training for DDR with accessory exercises the same way serious athletes of more respected sports trained for theirs.
I don't think Pump It Up isn't any more-or-less strenuous than DDR. The difficulty comes from years of learning how to read horizontal and vertical arrows really well and the diagonal/center steps of Pump It Up are confusing as hell., like being forced to speed read a foreign language. Mind, not body.
