Disability payments?? Anonymous
A friend of mine keeps losing her jobs because she has horrible kidney stones and as a result very bad renal colic. She's lost so many jobs it's pathetic.

My question isn't about how to fix/help her condition because I already have researched that stuff. My question is what sort of programs are there out there for people that can't hold a job do to a disability such as this? There's welfare, but that's not what I mean.

Anyone know a good search term for this sort of thing?

The best program for these people is called "sueing", I hear it works a treat.

Also, stop being such a pussy. Until you get lung stones I'm not giving you any sympathy.

hahah i didn't realise women go kidney stones.

if you don't want help about her condition, but ways to get welfare, why are you in /fit/?

I've done all I can for her myself. She'll have to help herself from now on. But, I figured some people in /fit/ may have been physically disabled enough to require some sort of Social Security disability payments or something.

Also, her renal colic is so severe that she will start puking. Once she starts puking she won't stop for about 12 hours. She'll puke once about every 10 minutes. One time she was admitted to the hospital with a temp of 104F. The kidney stones had caused an infection. She spent 11 days in the hospital and for a time she was under quarantine because they thought the infection had reached bloodstream and that she had meningitis. She very nearly died.

Right now she's having a sever attack once a week which wipes her out for about 3 days each time.

By the time she gets to the hospital they can't find the stones and it seems they've already passed out, judging by the amount of blood in her urine at that point.

I thought you could pass kidney stones? also tell her to stop drinking soda.

If there's blood in the urine then they're big ones which take a little while to get that big. Best way to deal with them i to drink lots of water (so more fluid is passed at once) and alcohol (to increase the frequency of urination) Both of these should result in stone passing before they get big enough to cause problems.

I'm guessing your american so I don't know much about the welfare system but I know there is one and that you will have to produce a doctors note to get on it. If she's as bad as you say she'll get on it

You can pass them. It's that she creates them too fast, too often.

I think she's making struvite(sp?) stones. so they can be very small and still cut her insides up a great deal.

I know all of this and much much more already. It's her that keeps screwing up her health but eating and drinking incorrectly. Thanks for the advice though.
