There is no such thing as 'spot training'. Focusing a work out on a specifc area or body part wont help burn more fat there. As you lose fat it comes off your body in general, not specific areas. You could do crunches all day and get rock hard abs.. under a layer of fat. Focus on a balanced plan with diet and excercise. Calculate your caloric requirement to maintain weight, subtract 500 calories from that to get your diet caloric limit. Assuming youre a 6 foot 20 year old male, id throw out roughly 1700-1800 calories for weight loss barring a really shit metabolism.

So I should subtract about 1600 calories from my daily limit? I assume my normal caloric intake would hover somewhere around 2600.

I dont know your exact age, weight, metabolism etc. You can find some online calculators using google. I was just throwing out a ball park figure. If you are eating 2600 calories and not gaining weight, then try eating 2100 calories and see if you lose weight. If you see no results drop it another 100 calories, repeat. Since you have asthma my suggestion for excercise is something that doesnt bother your lungs much. Walking, biking, other low impact cardio might be an option depending on your severity. If that is out try some basic work outs, jumping jacks, push ups, squats, situps, bicep curls (try using milk jugs filled with water).

I thought it was 2000-2200. I was fuckin' wrong >_<

I believe my metabolism is normal. I never really had that hyperactive metabolism that other kids had, hence the belly fat. I'll try to knock it down gradually until it's reduced by 1000. Any other tips?

Don't eat too little or your body will react by grabbing whatever nutrients it can and converting them into fat.

Depending on how serious you get there is a whole world of literature out there. Places such as the bodybuilding forums contain large communities with many helpful posts. However for some more beginner level tips: try to eat complex carbohydrates such as brown rice, whole wheat pasta, whole wheat bread instead of white bread, white rice, regular pasta. They are digested slower and will make you feel fuller longer as well as having better nutrition. I would recommend cutting out all liquid calories, as in drink only water or diet soda. Finding an activity you enjoy that is healthy will also help you, try activities such as running, sports, hiking, swimming, ddr, dancing, etc.
