Bike Riding Ultranic
So I have a problem.

Recently my car broke down and now I'm forced to bike ride to work and to the gym after work and than back home. This takes me about 30 mins (15mins to work and 15 mins back home; gym is in between my work and house so its usually split up into an interval of 15, 5, 10)

Im 23 years old, 5'7 and 148 pounds reaching for a goal of 170lbs by December. I go to the gym four to five days a week for an hour and a half with a few friends. I go two days in a row leaving one day off for recovery inbetween (so two days on, one day off). My biggest problem is eating enough food to feed my muscles. Now I'm trying really hard by maintaining three square meals a day complimented with protein drinks, and four light snacks between meals a day. Now I hear cardio is bad for building muscle because it burns way too many calories. Coupled with the fact that I already have a fast metabolism I'm a bit worried that bike riding to work, gym, and home will be counter productive to my goals for as you can see I am already far to slim. Any ideas? Or is this needless worry? Pic related.

Eat as many calories as you'll lose by the extra biking. Easy.

You'll be OK as long as you eat enough to make up for the burnt calories.

That seems like the obvious answer, my problem is that its already tough as hell trying to eat more already.

Before I used to work as a bartender so my meals were very irregular. Now I work as a computer tech and I'm regulating my meals where I basically hunger for three square meals a day, snack as much as possible and choke down as many protein shakes a day as I can handle.

If bike riding dosent make me feel more hungry how can I eat more to balance it out? I know this sounds stupid but does eating more eventually just stick? It seems impossible in my mind for me because I hate eating when I dont feel hungy.

Exact same thing happened to me, except I stopped going to the gym when I started biking. I've lost about 10 lbs in 2 months. The best advice I can give you would be to up your carb intake before bed, try to get to work early and have a shake before work, and wake up in the middle of the night and have a snack/shake.

Some people just need to eat that much. Try adding some peanut butter and oats to your shakes.

30 mins of biking won't do jackshit to you.
200 calories maximum you burn more I'd say.

15 minutes of biking is hardly enough to slim you down to the point that you're going to lose muscle. In fact, not even close. It is true that cardio uses muscle for fuel but unless you're running 25 miles a week and biking four or five times that it's really not that tough to replace the lost calories.

Eating that much is gross for me too. I'm about the same size appearance wise as you, but bigger shoulders and smaller chest.

I'm stopped trying to bulk, i'd rather be thin than sick all day really.

If you wan to get to 170, you'll need to eat like that forever.
