My brother got these last week from play it again sports for $500, used. I told him he was retarded for spending so much but... damn they are awesome. They really work great, and can do any weight between 10 and 90 lbs in five pound increments. Anybody else have these things?

I had the ones that went up to 40 and they were great when I was starting out. It feels like these are perfect as an present for anyone who are interested in getting fit. Stopped using them when I began using the college gym though, save for days where I want a light workout.

ok that shit for 500 is a bit much, but they are awesome though. Personally I just use the gyms, but this this really nice if you have limited space and limited access to a gym

pretty sure I saw that shit at target for $125

The ones at Target I believe only go up to 40-50 pounds or something. Although I could swear these heavier ones went for $500 new, unless Play It Again isn't some sort of used equipment place.

I would never spent that much. I'm only intrigued on what makes them so expensive.

90 pounds is a bit light isn't it?

Never had a home gym, but I seen individual dumbbells with a fixed weight going for a lot.
So if you had a pair of each weight going from 10lbs to 90lbs you'd have something like 17 pairs of dumbbells and that would cost a shitload and take up useless amounts of space, and you'd end up having a bunch you would not use.

Anyways spending 500 dollars for the convinience of these sounds retarded as well unless you are loaded with cash and don't give a fuck.

I could get memberships at my gym for almost 3 years with that much money!

I just got back from the gym, I would buy these if they were less.

I mean they are convenient

They'd be pretty awesome in addition to a squat rack and a bench equipped with a couple of oly bars and weights.
