Hey, /fit/. Got a question. Having a hard time lately with running out of energy at the gym. I've found that unless I eat a good 900cal or so at lunch and a decent-sized snack a few hours later, by the time I get to the gym around 6pm not only am I hungry shortly after I start working out, but when it gets to lifting weights I am ludicrously weak. Sometimes even having eaten a decent lunch I will still run out of energy about 3/4 through the workout and actually feel myself get weak/dizzy/heart pounding/nauseous. At that point I can nurse a drink filled with carbs and make the shitty feelings pass after about 20 min but the workout's pretty much done for me then.

Any advice on something I can do to help this, either right before or during? I know there are overpriced drinks I can buy at the gym that allegedly keep your stamina up, but there has to be some other things out there that aren't just to cash in on gullible gymrats. Plus, I hate drinking while I'm working out. I will drink water periodically of course, but a lot of those "specialty" drinks recommend drinking like, 16oz right before and 16oz during, and from experience, that yields me a disgustingly sloshy stomach. Plus, they taste nasty.

I've been trying to, but unless there's something I'm missing out on eating that's dense in calories but easily digestible, if I eat much more I end up getting stomach cramps from having a bunch of food still in my stomach...

And I mean, I'm trying to eat healthy so going and eating 3 baconators for lunch seems to be out of the question.
