Fucking elliptical... Anonymous
dear /fit/,

I am overweight, but on a diet and exercising regularly. So far I have lost 12 pounds and am feeling pretty good.

I regularly use a treadmill and have worked up to 2 miles in about 24 minutes, without stopping. Not that impressive but I thought I was making great progress.

However, this devil machine has destroyed my confidence. I tried it for the first time ever today and I couldn't even make it 15 minutes. I got off and I thought I was about to die. I tasted metal and my lungs felt like they were about to burst through my chest.

Why is this so much harder than the treadmill? Also, what is that metallic taste?

this has to be one of the easiest cardio machines out there
could be that its hard for yous ince you have to haul all your fat around
just try to build up ur stamina on this thing and start on a low resistance

You probably have a lot of iron in your blood. I'm betting that your mouth started bleeding somehow.

Very true, but I also had to haul my fat around on the treadmill and I never felt anything like I felt after that elliptical...

That's the first thing I thought of, but I wasn't bleeding. Am I going to die?

You have lesions or tumors on your liver or kidneys. I'm completely serious. Go see a doctor immediately.

More to the point, the use of the treadmill + elliptical have deteriorated your organs 'tethers' to the rest of your body.

It can also be microtears in your mouth that you can't see. Another thing is you were breathing so hard, the alveoli in your lungs had microtears. This allowed minute amounts of blood to enter into your oxygen supply.

Whatever it is, it doesn't sound so serious if this was a one time thing. If it happens a lot, THEN you should be worried.

At a guess because you are working your muscle groups slightly differently and you arent used to the resistance programs on this compared to flat out treadmill. You should adapt to it in a few days - week.

Also, take the iron dildo out your mouth.
