Dear /fit/ So in the last 5 weeks i have lost almost 40 pounds. Lately though i find myself to be less motivated i mean i should be more motivated but i need some help. How much Cardio should i be doing per day? What kind of foods are good for you. I've been eating chicken tuna and assorted fish for the most part. Thanks for your help.

40lbs in 5 weeks? That's really unhealthy and almost impossible. 1-2 lbs a week is about right. But limits on cardio is a personal thing. A couple years ago I really got into running and bike riding. I would switch every day and take sunday off. When I started in mid April I could only do a mile jog with a mile walk or a 5 mile bike ride. At the end of August (and almost 60lbs lighter) I could do a 10 mile jog or a 25 mile bike ride.

Everything depends on your own personal ability. Don't be afraid to push yourself, but do try to be aware of your limits.

I'm just telling what the scales tell me. Today is a few days juts over 5 weeks from when i started. I do about 30-35 minutes per day on a treadmill or stationary bike. I do try to push myself. I have been lifting weights too i'm just not sure if i should be doing more weight less reps or less weight more reps. I'm just tryign to slim down at the moment put on the muscle later.

The rule is if you want strength, then you go with less reps but more weight, if you wanna bulk up then you go more reps less weight.

Well if my main goal right now is to loose weight i should just use less weight more reps to maintain my strength then after increase the weight to bulk up correct?

it's not, I lost more than that personally, you just have to be really fat when you start

Only impossible for people of a desirable weight. Very overweight people lose weight very quickly, especially if they're sick. Trying doing cardio when you have the flu (if you're not too much of a weak-ass to get out of bed and do something), and you'll see what I mean.
