Hai /fit/, i'm new to this fitness thibg. I've lurked the board and find some informations concerning what I should do.

I entend to do starting strenght and to follow the ating guidelines presented in Burn Fat, Feed the muscle.

I joined a gym so i'm ready to reach my goals but i'm only left with a question unasnwered.

Is it bether to bulk then cut or to cut then bulk out ?
(In b4 it's possible to do both at the same time)
>> Anonymous
Forget that bulk and cut thing. It's for roiders.
Just train, eat and sleep.
You'll get stronger, bigger and lose fat.
>> Anonymous
Cut first. New lifters often can't help but add some muscle mass even in a caloric deficit, and bulking and adding muscle is best done from a low bodyweight. (Estrogen levels increase with bodyfat, for example.)

Besides, I've had this happen over and over: people will always ask me if I've started working out "again" whenever I start cutting. People, such as friends and family, tend to notice muscle definition more than muscle size. As a beginner, you probably want to be buoyed up in those difficult first few months by compliments from those you know, thus go with the cut, which usually gets attention.

Bulk and cut is for everyone. Dirty bulking is maybe for roiders--or teenagers. Nothing wrong with a clean bulk between 8% and 15% bodyfat, and natural lifters can do that very well.

Also, quit sucking the cock of Scooby Quarter-Squats. Pic related.

Op here, who the fuck is that ?

Scooby. He's an internet celebrity on YouTube for posting some exercise clips, some of which are in wrong form, and also for railing against the tried and true practice of cutting and bulking.

Do full squats as per SS, not a Scooby Squat.

It's what I intend to do, my father used to work-out and I keep telling me that without squats we are cippled and that if the squats aren't atg I shouldn't bother doing them in the first place.

scooby is bigger and stronger than you will ever be. get bigger than him THEN give advice you fat shit.
>> Sponge !!5qxfxHYSQxJ
oh yeah, and squatting below 90 degrees is pointless. it adds almost nothing to your workout and puts the knees at a mechanical weak point. JOINTS ARE NOT MEANT TO WORK LIKE THAT UNDER LOADS.

in b4 you argue with qualified doctors.
>> sasuke
>>285839
its weak only if you are inflexible. deep squats targets the hips and hamstrings. i can feel it!
>> Sponge !!5qxfxHYSQxJ
>>285844

all squats target the fucking hips and hamstrings you dipshit. what the fuck you think you're working?

the simple fact is, deep squats for people who haven't been doing that kinda shit for years are not safe. scooby gives advice to the average man. EVEN if you do them right.

a deep squat pulls your kneecap into the joint VERY hard, and you can fuck up your menisci, even if you don't twist.

but by all means, continue to do it and put yourself at risk for a negligible gain.

lol i'm laughing right now at sponge and his quarter squatting faggotry. what an amusing little clown.

Yeah, yeah. Keep talking about fitness levels. Never saw a pic of you, sponge, and you've been making a fool of yourself here for months. Methinks you hide your jellyrolls of flab while polishing scooby's cock and raving to us all about how BIG AND MANLY he is. Now go do some sissy squats.

well mr. doctour. it seems that during the course of your studies you may not have understood biomechanics very well.

you may want to brush up a bit. Assuming its even relevant to your practice. I imagine your an antibiotic obsessed flu vaccine driven family practitioner who thinks hes qualified to give out any kind of health advice.

# 1954 (age 40): Jack swam the entire length of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, underwater, with 140 pounds of equipment, including two air tanks. A world record.
# 1955 (age 41): Jack swam from Alcatraz Island to Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco while handcuffed. When interviewed afterwards he was quoted as saying that the worst thing about the ordeal was being handcuffed, which reduced his chance to star jump significantly.
# 1956 (age 42): Jack set a world record of 1,033 push-ups in 23 minutes on You Asked For It, a television program with Art Baker. Former Princeton University wrestler Ryan Bonfiglio broke this record on May 5, 2008. Bonfiglio did 1,000 push ups in 20 minutes 50 seconds.[8]
# 1957 (age 43): Jack swam the Golden Gate channel while towing a 2,500-pound cabin cruiser. The swift ocean currents turned this one-mile swim into a swimming distance of 6.5 miles.
# 1958 (age 44): Jack maneuvered a paddleboard nonstop from Farallon Islands to the San Francisco shore. The 30-mile trip took 9.5 hours.
# 1959 (age 45): Jack did 1,000 star jumps and 1,000 chin-ups in 1 hour, 22 minutes. His well-known white German shepherd, Happy, was born this year, the same year The Jack LaLanne Show went nationwide.
# 1974 (age 60): For the second time, Jack swam from Alcatraz Island to Fisherman's Wharf. Again, he was handcuffed, but this time he was also shackled and towed a 1,000-pound boat.
# 1975 (age 61): Repeating his performance of 21 years earlier, Jack again swam the entire length of the Golden Gate Bridge, underwater and handcuffed, but this time he was shackled and towed a 1,000-pound boat.

>>286046
# 1976 (age 62): To commemorate the "Spirit of '76", United States Bicentennial, Jack swam one mile in Long Beach Harbor. He was handcuffed and shackled, and he towed 13 boats (representing the 13 original colonies) containing 76 people.
# 1979 (age 65): Jack towed 65 boats in Lake Ashinoko, near Tokyo, Japan. He was handcuffed and shackled, and the boats were filled with 6,500 pounds of Louisiana Pacific wood pulp.
# 1980 (age 66): Jack towed 10 boats in North Miami, Florida. The boats carried 77 people, and he towed them for over one mile in less than one hour.
# 1984 (age 70): Once again handcuffed and shackled, Jack fought strong winds and currents as he swam 1.5 miles while towing 70 boats with 70 people from the Queen's Way Bridge in the Long Beach Harbor to the Queen Mary.
