Alright /fit/, i'm trying to eat healthier and whatnot, but I genuinely can not stand the taste of most vegetables. I've tried. Just don't like 'em.

So, is there a way to eat healthier/lose weight/etc. without eating food that tastes like shit?
>> Anonymous
eat less of what you like
>> Anonymous
Cook the veggies with the meat so they taste kinda like meat.

IE. STIRFRY

this always pisses me off. there's no way in fucking hell that you hate all vegetables. get over your self-styled hatred, and find a vegetable you like.

start eating real shit, and you'll appreciate real shit. stop eating fast food, pretty soon you'll be addicted to fresh green beans. try broiled asparagus instead of steamed asparagus. shit's fucking delicious. learn to love winter squash.

this food is fucking delicious, and if you don't like it, you're probably just not used to eating actual food that's good for you. get in the swing of it, and you will learn to love it.

and don't reply back with this whole "No, really, I've tried every vegetable and I hate all of them!" bullshit. it's shenanigans.

Semi-related, I'm allergic to most fruits (apples, pears, melons, strawberries, amongst others) and a few vegetables (celery mostly, but others if I have a fair amount, like a big salad) I'd like some more variety in my diet... what's good thats healthy and won't make my throat swell up like woah?

Things I know I can eat: bananas, lemons/limes, oranges, pineapple. That's about it. Also, cooked veggies don't seem to bother me, like corn, peas, green beans. I just miss all that sweet juisy fruit. :(

My friend does something similar to it, but he gets something superior. He works at GNC, so I'll assume he gets it from there. He says it's like eating a bunch of veggies without having to spend the money on it.

FUCK veggies. they are good for nothing except vitamins.
Eat bananas instead.

luckily most fruits actually aren't actually terribly healthy. most berries (grapes and blueberries, especially,) are phenomenal. most other fruits provide nutrients that are relatively easy to get in other sources (vitamin C, fiber, vitamin A). and, as far as veggies are concerned, leafy greens are pretty much a must, esp. romaine lettuce and cooking greens

Make a list of what foods you like and pick which ones to cut out, which to buy more of, and how you can build off the ones you like. or somethin.
>> Anonymous
Blend them with fruits you like so you taste the fruit.

Jesus fucking Christ.

I didn't say 'all'. I said 'most'. Meaning as in what i've tried. Asparagus (broiled and steamed), tomatoes, corn, carrots, pea, green beans, cabbage, mushrooms. There is probably one out there i'd like. I do not want to waste money going through crap I probably will not eat to find it. "OMG STFU AND LIKE IT RAEG" isn't helpful.

But, hey, it's 4chan. Whatever. Rage your retarded heart out.

Everyone else, thanks (especially>>237868, I'll have to look further into that.) and please, if you have any ideas on generally eating healthier, keep 'em comin'

all i'm saying is that picky eating and fitness do not go well together. you'll find that out soon enough.

this is like controlling addiction. addicts, such as alcoholics, cannot just quit their addiction because they are either physically, psychologically or both physically and psychologically dependent to what they are addicted to. they will probably experience withdrawal symptoms, which can be uncomfortable, if they do not gradually decrease their intake of what they are addicted to.

So basically you want to substitute powder for vegetables.

Generally, people who want to "eat healthier" but who think that healthy food "tastes like shit" don't really want to eat healthier at all. Which is not to say that healthy food tastes like shit. Like anon said, you just gotta start choking it down, and eventually you WILL start loving it.

Taste sensitization. Learn to appreciate the soft and subtle tastes of real food. Quit expecting your food to taste like heaven all the time. Food doesn't owe you wonderful tastes, but you owe your body food it can actually use.

the bitter taste is an indication of poisonousness or not... but also consider animals eat grass all the time, like 50% of their diet or something. A cow grazing. In nature animals don't get cancer.

now someone intelligent make sense of this.

/fit/ once said these words of great wisdom:
eating healthy is like licking Godzilla's asshole, and like licking Godzilla asshole you get used to it

cows have 4 stomachs and they chew cud. we aren't able to eat grass because it contains lots of indigestible cellulose. cows (and most other herbivores, frugivores excepted) have ways around that.

WRONG WRONG WRONG

Your body finds the two hardest to find in natures sources of energy to be delicious. Fats and sugar. Both are rare in nature. Fats were great because if you ate them, if things got tough, you didn't die of starvation as quickly. Sugars, because they gave a quick, easy burst of energy.

Whole grains, vegetables, plain meats. They're all good for you, but they lack the distinctive and great taste because they were common foods.

Evolution has made you believe sugars and fats are the best things on earth. Now, as to how to get over that. It just takes time and being smart, buy some healthy cookbooks and learn to make stuff that tastes good and is good for you. Don't chew down wheatgrass and tell yourself that you're hardcore, you won't be able to keep with it.

It's all in your mind.

You'll grow to like vegetables.

Go eat some vegetarian indian. It's not necessarily _better_ for you since it has a ton of cream and butter in it, but goddamn it's so good.

ex-fatty here when your used to eating junk and unhealthy food anything without alot of sugar or tons of fat taste like shit after a little while of eating healthy youll enjoy the taste of veggies
>> Anonymous
I don't even think it's a fatty/not fatty thing. I think it has to do with preparation. I used to hate vegetables, but that's because I used to have them all steamed, blanched, and boiled. Just considering like three vegetables: green beans, asparagus, and broccoli. Respectively canned and boiled, steamed, and boiled, these are all pretty bad. However, respectively fresh and sauteed, broiled, and raw, they're excellent.

Oh, and you gotta have proper seasoning too. Proper salting is an artform that, when performed adequately, will spare your health and make ALL your food taste better.

What you fuckers need to do is to stir-fry those veggies up with garlic.

Then season with salt/pepper/soysauce/sesame seed oil and I guarentee it'll taste fucking awesome.

WRONG.

Boiling, cooking, or frying any kind of vegetables is nutritional because it takes away the vegetable's vitamins. You'd be better off just eatting pieces of salted and stir-fried Styrofoam if you are planning on doing that...

Learn to like eating veggies either raw or steamed.

>>238284
i'm sure eating salted styrofoam would have worse effects than boiled vegetables. However steamed is best. eating the most natural as possible as best. Except when it's uneatable.

Take spirulina, OP. It's supposed to give you your daily veggie dose so you don't have to eat 'em.

Or so I hear. I just eat the vegetables.
