So, I've been doing a kind of Stronglifts 5*5, with dips, pulls/chins, power cleans and reverse crunches, for 14 weeks. Should I switch to SS 3*5, as I heard the 5*5 volume is unnecessary? So my workouts would be A: squat 3*5, bench 3*5, cleans 5*3, dips, and B: squat 3*5, press 3*5, deadlift 1*5, pulls/chins. Also, the SS wiki says 5*3 cleans, is there a reason for 5 sets over 3 with cleans, or is it a typo?

Not a typo. With power cleans you're building explosive strength.

The lower reps for cleans is because they are much tougher on the body. If you do more than 3 reps, you can pretty much guarantee your form will be off, and you don't want that to happen when you are hurling weights over your head. For the olympic lifts (snatch, clean&jerk) you do low reps, high weight, work on the explosive nature of the movement.

Alright, thanks. Any comments on SL vs SS?
