/fit/, because I'm at the computer a lot at work and when I was a kid, I almost had carpal tunnel syndrome. Also now, it seems when I leave my entire arm as a dead weight or whatever, my hand curls in and looks a little limp. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to make it a normal hand again and be flat and not curl in as if I was about to type?

P.S. OP is male

For god sake have you ever looked at the hands of anyone else? People don't walk around with fingers rigid and close together. It'd be like walking around with your arms locked and pointed downwards

your arm muscles are all tense, it's so used to that position it doesn't know anything else. you should be able to press down to the bone without any pain or recoiling, just mild discomfort.

take a tiger for example, their muscles go as hard as brick when tensed up, but a keeper can feel them relaxed they are all mushy.

a chiropractor loosen the tension, strength training will increase your muscles ability to tolerate pain.

p.s. i just been typing here for 2 hours, I had to mentally relax that, and all I got was to move around the trained mush somewhat. i was exactly like you describe a year ago, before i started weight training.

since its your hand and you added the OP is Male bit i have a strong urge to make a mastrobation joke but nothing comes to mind right now...

but on your problem try taking a few minutes and slowly stretching the different muscles in your hand. The goal of this isn't to crack your joints but just to loosen up the hand in general. You shouldn't need your other hand to do this how ever if your hands really messed up using a flat surface may help.
