When you lose weight you lose from all three areas.
The thing you have to remember here is that you don't want to be average, you -are- average. You're currently trying to hit an ideal, in the same way all us fags work out to get all muscled. That's not average.
Don't concern yourself on weight unless you know your bodyfat percentage; right now you should focus on where you are. Balancing when you eat will have a very quick effect. Motivating yourself to do some exercise will give you a core of muscle (which wont make you look like a dyke or give you huge arms) which will assist in breaking down fat, and making sure that when you eat you are just supporting your muscle weight, not adding to fat weight.
Essentially you need to spend about three weeks sorting out a way to get exercise and having a decent diet and the look at what has changed; photos, feeling, look, and sure your weight. You then adjust by trial and error.
