Alot of the weight on the machine is directly forced in to other areas on the machine, meaning that you only have to lift a percent of whats on the bars. For example The guy in the picture is deadlifting a car which was more than a few thousand pounds, how ever the if you were to put a scale directly under those handles it would most likely say something around 650 lbs. Make sense?
