I want to do squats
and I have a gym membership
But I don't have a spotter.
Is spotting 100% nescessary? They have a smith machine their too but that's the biggest piece of shit ever.

also, it says squats works your abs. How?? does it really? will you really tear your abs up just doing squats? or are abs like a secondary muscle in play that only act to stabalize etc not really work out.

last question: do I do small rep high weight or high rep low weight to build muscle mass.

you don't need a spotter if you know what the fuck you are doing

i prefer front squats because it's easier to bail, and the weight is smaller therefore less dangerous. plus it works your core a lot more than back squats.

Sweet man, I didn't know front squats existed, now I don't have to worry about my back.
why does the weight have to be lower for front squats, just because it's harder to control in the front?
I've never done a squat before but I understand how important it is to use proper form etc so i think ill be fine.
