hey /fit/
i seem to be full of energy at night when normal people are supposed to be sleeping regardless of how much sleep i get
im not sure if this is due to anxiety or just my circadian rhythm being fucked up

im going to try to treat it as anxiety first (as fucked up circadian rhythm would be a whole different ball of wax to handle) and try to aleviate some if it with exercise.

my question to you is this: will exercising at night when im supposed to be sleeping make it more or less difficult to sleep?

TL;DR
will exercise before bed cure insomnia?

well you're probably falling asleep in the middle of the day and waking up late in the evening. So just stay awake one day until 10-12pm. easy

yeah ive done this as well and kept at it for a few weeks even, but it felt very forced and unnatural as i have always been the most alert and awake late at night

Dear OP,

I was having this same problem for years. I tried many things, including working out heavily and meditation. Nothing worked.

Recently I found that by sheer willpower I will go to sleep. If I go to bed and can't go to sleep, I will force myself to stay there being bored rather than getting up and doing something. Now I can go to bed at 9:00p or 10:00p and because my mind knows I will not get up until the alarm clock rings, it shuts off in self-defense. Or that's the way I think of it, but the result is the same.

If you are wondering, I don't work tomorrow, which is why I'm not in bed. Also, working out heavily only increased how long I would stay up at night. Hope that helps.

thats impressive, i applaud your willpower
this dosnt work for me, however, when i lie there to go to sleep my mind is in complete chaos and it is painful for me to not be preoccupied with something, i dont know if its the generalized anxiety disorder or the ADD or both but its just not possible for me
thanks for the suggestion though
