/fit/, halp!

Fattie here getting in shape. Starting weight 278.4 (May 21), current weight 228.0 (Sept 22, 50lbs down in 4 months fuck year). But here's my problem(!): I basically live on frozen healthy meals (lean cuisine, healthy choice, smart ones, etc.) and the occasional fast-food salad (grilled chicken meat only). I ride bicycle 8 miles a day (30 ~ 35 mins) with a daily 10 ~ 15 min walk warm up and cool down before and afterwards (total 50 ~ 60 min a day workout). So on Friday I decided to try 12 miles biking (with the same warmup/cooldown) and get on the scale saturday morning FUCK YEAR 226.0lbs! FUCK YEAR (down from 228.4lbs Friday morning, on average I only loose around 0.4 ~ 0.7lbs a day) I keep the same diet routine (oatmeal breakfast, frozen healthy lunch, frozen healthy dinner with salad, drinking water, crystal lite, or lite juice), and decide to push even further Saturday biking 16 miles (same warmup/cooldown). So Sunday morning I get on the scales expecting to see something like 225lbs... but I get 227.3lb WTF!? BAWWWWWW!! LEMMIE TRY THAT AGAIN. Sunday, again I bike 16 miles (with warmup/cooldown) and same diet. I MUST have lost that mysterious weight... right... right!?

I just got off the scales, 228.0lbs

SIXTY NIGGERS RAGE. I tried google first, and they were like LOL YOU MUST BE EATAN MORE NIGGER LOLOLOL, and one site said YOU MUST BE EATAN MORE... OOOOOOOOOR IN RARE CASES - MOST LIKELY NOT YOURS FATTIE - YOU MAY BE GAINING MUSCLE - BUT MOST LIKELY YOU'S EATAN MOAR LOLOLOL.

But... I haven't been eating more, I've been sticking to my diet (and fuck, its only 1300 ~ 1600 calories a day)! I don't do any strength workouts (but goddamn did I bust my ass this weekend)... just the bike riding. Am I gaining muscle?

Halp /fit/!

could be water retention.
also i weigh myself religiously only once a week.
every monday morning after showering, before breakfast.

If you are eating less than you are burning don't pay too much attention to the scale other than a general trend of weight loss. Especially not 2-3lb swings.

This could easily be my post, I am at the same weight and do 15 miles a day on my bike.

MOTHER OF GOD. Pic related is me (on Friday when I hit the 50lb loss mark, before this weekend's... events). A six month difference, but still, goddamn. I had actually seen on fit before someone in the 230lb area hitting a plateau. Fuck, I really, really, *really* hope it's just a water retention, temporary weight flux matter, and not a godfucking plateau (I see plateau threads /fit/ every now and then, but fuck, now I wish I had paid attention to 'em). Also, it was the weekend afterall (I do inventory/shipping/mailroom at work, lifting moving boxes by hand, running back and forth a lot, on the weekend, I'm your basic /v/irgin derp, other than my hour a day exercise routine, I don't do much anything else, fuck it, it's the weekend). Hopefully when I weigh in tommorow, things will be okay (otherwise I'll have to spaz out and post again).

Anyhoo, congrats on the weight loss brother!

So you lost 50lbs. Good job and nice work. Now its time to really kick it up if you want to continue the loss. Its time to learn to cook for yourself, cut down on sodium, drink at least a gallon of water a day and start lifting weights. You have to mix cardio and weight training together in order to continue the weight loss.

STOP LOOKING AT THE SCALE! Don't even get on the motherfucker anymore, that part of your weight loss is over. Now you build muscle and burn the hard to get at fat. Longer harder road.

What exactly is the point of drinking so much water daily
>> Anonymous
uh are you weighing yourself at the same time each morning?

or just randomly throughout the day?

Think of it like this, if you aren't hydrated fully then your body does not function at 100% capacity, so your lower functioning organs don't function as well as the higher functioning organs. If your organs aren't working well together than the process of weight loss will be hindered by your dehydration. Also it takes calories to convert cold water into body heat temperature and to process it.

In addition to all of that you will feel fuller off of smaller amounts of food which in turn will make you eat less and you will intake less calories.

Suck it.

Wow, I posted before I went to work, bumped it at work (>>347933), and now I'm home - post dinner and daily bike ride at that(!), only a 8 mile ride today - and my thread is still here, awesum.

Yeah, I weigh myself around 7:40 ~ 8:00am every morning in my underwear n' undershirt, (after *cough* "taking out the garbage" but before I shower).

I guess I can start just measuring my waist instead of using a scale (if I'm not mistaken, measuring waist, hips, and weight is how you measure body fat %, I think). Yeah, I'm just about the "right size" (self conscious/confidence anyhow) that I'll join a gym soon (actually my goal was "once I get under 210lbs I'll join a gym!! OSU!!" but I've been seeing on /fit/ in "how do I joined a gym" threads that gym people mind their own business as long as you mind theirs, its not a judgemental atmosphere at all, despite my paranoid delusions).

So, I'll prolly join a gym this up-coming weekend but in the mean time, does doing pushups and situps at home sound good? What's a good starting pace?
