Neck Muscles - how do you train them? Anonymous
Hello good citizens.
How do you train/strenghten the neck muscles?
I currently do squats/bench press/pullups/deadlifts which are all good but don't do shit for the neck.
I'm looking for (safe) excersises that do.
Humbly asking for help.

Do shrugs. Work on your traps.

I'm pretty sure deadlifts do work the neck (as stabilizers). Also, overhead presses. You need those anyway to balance out your program. I don't think there's a good way to work out the neck as a target muscle.

Hi, they don't have to be massive neck muscles- i just don't want to neglect them. Plus, i got a really big head, need to make it look smaller lol.

OP again, need an opinion on this quote:

"Neck bridges are a good way to develope disk problems.

The best neck exercises are done like this: Lying on your back
place the base of hands on youe forehead. Slowly raise your
head up against constant pressure from your hands, then lower
your head resisting the pressure once again on the way down.

Do 10-12 reps.

Repeat this on each side (using one hand for resistance) and
also repeat while lying on stomach with hands at the back of
your head.

Doing this developes all of your neck muscles more efficiently
and safely than any neck weights or "bridges"."
