sup' /fit/

I'm not one of you, but I value your opinion.

Lately I've had searing chest pains just below my left rib, it makes it painful to breathe, stings constantly and makes it hard to concentrate. It first occurred last friday but went away, now it's back. But other than the pain in this region nothing else hurts, I don't have shortness of breath or any other symptoms.

Does anyone know what it is?

I've been eating less lately and it gets worse when I'm hungry so I thought it was a build up of acid, but taking medicine for heart burn hasn't done a thing.

Not long ago I strained my diaphragm during a singing assessment that left my chest numb and aching below my ribs. I've circled on the picture (not me) where I mean.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No, more like a dull ache constantly that flares up with deeper breathes.

Yes I already read the online diagnosis thing and disregarded it because I don't have discoloration of the flesh.

Anyway it's 8pm on a friday in england, I'm not getting to see a doctor until monday at best. Unless I collapse I don't think there's much I can do.

I get the same thing too, on the left side under the nipple, it doesn't make it hard to breath though, just a short and rare stinging pain that lasts for maybe a few seconds.

could be lots of things
angina is a possibility
could also be a pleural adhesion (doubt it's pericardial judging from where you circled)
could be a variety of lung problems (e.g. bullae)
could just be cramps

i have the same thing from time to time. Mine i believe is acid reflux. Does it get worse when you lie down? Most likely acid. What heart burn stuff did you take?

Sounds like the same thing I had. In which case, your EKG will turn up completely fine.

In my case, the doctor decided that it was a pinched nerve. [Pentacostal, or Intercostal I can't remember.]

Do you have incredibly weak pectoral muscles? Pain seemed to go away after I started working out my pecs.
