STRETCHING Anonymous
Ok, /fit/, I've heard a lot of things about stretching, like doing one minute stretches for 3 sets per muscle, or 20 second holds, or w/e.

So, what is the most effective way to stretch a muscle to progress its range of motion without over-doing it?

Several ways, Most advanced stretching will lead to soreness and may include light tearing. Most important thing is to relax in your stretch.
Muscles have a reflex memory, which triggers when you are close to tearing. Remaining relaxed will keep from tearing and overlook the reflex memory, letting you reach max stretch without tear.

1) partner stretching, this allows you to have extra weight applied, causing for greater stretch.
2) motion stretching, light bouncing and bobbing into the stretch will pull the muscle more than naturally capable.
3) dynamic stretching, stretching to max then pushing more than capable for about 10 sec. relax and repeat.

MAIN NOTE: DO NOT OVER EXCEED YOUR OWN LIMITATIONS!!! TEARS WILL OCCUR.
Drink lots of water to lubricate joints and stretch b4 and after workouts. GL!
