HIIT pros- I need help.

I tried my first "official" HIIT workout today- Basically I decided to run as hard as humanly possible for 20 seconds, and do it about 5 times in a row (45 second break)

My legs were DEAD by the last one, and I was extremely exhausted...but I noticed little to no sweat. Something isn't working here- I thought I was supposed to be drenched with sweat after a HIIT...

To compare, I normally run stairs...not as fast as humanly possible, but pretty vigorously...I guess you could call them "mini HIITs" since I walk down a flight before beginning the next. Anyway, I always sweat bucket-loads doing those.

Any thoughts?

Do you work out a lot? Or is this the first time you've done something really intense? I ask because if you don't work out regularly then your body doesn't become efficient at sweating and cooling yourself off, after a while, it adjusts and sweats enough.

How was the temperature outside?

Pretty sure you're supposed to start it with a 20 minute moderate pace...

OP here. I work out a good deal. As I said, whenever I run stairs I sweat a ton...but that workout is at least 20 minutes, and not 7 minutes like my hiit was.

For warmup, I rode my bike a few miles to the field I ran on...nothing too intense. Maybe that was my mistake.

Also, my diet has been really bad today- I didnt have breakfast, which was very foolish-- maybe my body was too deprived to cool itself off...jk

and the temperature was col.d 50 or so degrees

You don't really sweat much with HITT. I have been doing it for over a year doing 7 intervals and I still barely sweat.

warmup, bitch.

you should have roughly 20 minutes of moderate cardio (ala you can still talk, but can't carry on a normal conversation)

HIIT should last at least 15 minutes, mine lasts 20, 5 minute warmup, 15 minute interval, 5 minute cool down.

That's 25 minutes.

I don't know if you are a troll or a fucking retard, if you can do 15 minutes of HIIT then you are doing it wrong like the last cocksucking cunt infections filled whore on the planet.

what is HIIT?

OP here-
I cant imagine doing more than 6 30 second HIIT bursts in a row. I was only doing 20 second sprints and I could only do 5- my legs wouldnt move fast any more after that last one.

that'd be intense to get more than 6 reps in

Dohohoho, you, my friend, have no idea what HIIT is, if you can do it for more than 8 minutes, you are doing it wrong.

Were you still doing a light jog throughout those 45 seconds or rest? If not, do that. If you were, try cutting it down to 30 seconds of light jogging followed by your 20 seconds of sprinting.

I do 15 sec sprint then a 45 second jog, 7 times. Gets me tired as fuck

My bad, switch 15 minute interval to 10 minute, its hard to count when you sweat that hard.

Don't take a break, SPRING and then jog.
You probably wont be able to start with 5 pairings, but that's fine. Start with 3 or 4 pairings and steadily increase by 1 every 1 to 3 workouts.
