First of all, there's no 'eat to lose weight' anything. There's eating healthy, and you should be doing it anyways. Find a food guide and follow it.
I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to ask, though...can you tidy up the question a bit? If I understand it right, the answer is yes. Your body needs a certain amount for metabolism, and if you're doing exercise on top of that, you need to take in some extra calories so your body can properly run and reconstruct itself.
