Height in Body Building Anonymous
What do you think about height in having a good body? Im sure nobody wants to be a short and wide/bulky stump who walks like a crab.
Most good body types are for 5'10-6'0+ft people.
, like brad pitt; doesn't need to be huge but looks awesome coz of height.
Im 5'7(skinny-average) after puberty...is this a reasonably good height to get a good body?

at 5'7" you WILL be a "short and wide/bulky stump who walks like a crab." once you work out. of course, you could ignore your own ignorance and actually WORK on symmetry.

Bruce was pretty short, but still looked awesome. Just work on being tone.

Your shoulder:waist ratio would be more important I would say.

Bruce Lee was fucking tiny, have you seen him in clothes? I would never want to have his frame.

OPfag here
whats a good shoulder/waist ratio?
problem with being short and working on symmetry is: in order for you to stay in symmetry, you relatively can only have small muscle with much tone = skinny look.
Taller people can have bigger muscles and stay in symmetry.
/fit/, is 5'7 short?

Symmetry is the wrong word to use, the word you want to be using is proportional. And yes 5'7" is short by most standards.

If I was a fighter I'd want to be short.

You're an idiot, an experienced fighter who was tall would down you before you even got into range.

5'9, but I've never considered myself short.

says you?

How about an experienced short fighter vs an experienced tall fighter? There is no black and white in this situation. The outcome depends highly on the fighter, not their stature.

Will a tall fighter beat a short fighter? Probably as often as a short fighter beating a tall fighter, especially with the effectiveness and evolution of grappling nowadays.

Wasn't there a fight between a black boxer, and a HUGE white wrestler?

Probably many, but it doesn't dictate the outcome of every short vs tall fight.

The point is: longer limbs = longer reach. Yes, a fight depends on plenty of things, but longer limbs are always an advantage except in competitive wrestling and similar. That is my fucking point, so fuck off shorty. Enjoy getting jabbed in the face 9000 times before getting into range.

Also, I have found that short people generally tend to have glass chins.

I'm 5'9" and I've thought of myself as short, but I am apparently pretty much exactly average for a South European male. Probably, I would not have thought I was short if my last four room mates (over the course of 6 years) had not been over 6' tall. Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with my build: 165lbs and 8% right now. My goal isn't to be a super beast, so I'd be happy adding a pound or two to the abs and obliques and being done with it for now. I think I slimmed up nicely from 195 three months ago.

I am 5'11" and I'm considered average in Ausfailia.

I'm not sort, I'm 6 feet tall. I've been in fights and practice martial arts. Don't underestimate short bulky dudes.

That's because you're all short, stupid criminals.

I never underestimate anyone I don't know, for all you know the short guy you're trying to start is Matt Serra, and he downs you before you even get a chance to stop smiling.

6'5" here. I have been in fights and I'm not really trained or anything so I relied on hitting people before they could hit me. It made sense, and it worked.

I could imagine if they got in close things would probably head south, though. I dunno.

I made a thread about boxing classes a while ago. Really interesting in taking one this summer. Not for fighting... I don't get into fights anymore, but for the cardio. Plus a little more formal fighting training could only help, god forbid if I have to fight someone again.

220cm, 180kg would be nice
