Hi.
I'm really into riding my bike, and not so much into running or jogging. Are there any default HIIT routines involving a bike?

I thought about going around a 1/4 mile track on highest gear and every 30 seconds just switching between full power and low power (never really slowing down, but slowing my body movement). I've already tried going up and down a hill but I'm not sure if I should continue that since I felt completely limp and ready to barf; and basically everything above my waist felt horribly sore the next day.

But you're the experts, tell me what I'm doing wrong so I can lose belly fat with actual bicycle cardio.

I'd suggest using stationary bike, you're more likely to make the chain slip off & you need to keep looking where you are going.

HIIT on a bike should be at a point where both your lungs and legs are burning. If your legs are hurting but your lungs are not, spin faster in a lower gear. Conversely, if your lungs are burning, but your legs are not, switch into a higher gear and slow down the RPM.

What if I just wear blinders or dark sunglasses?
