What is a better routine/schedule type? Anonymous
when working on certian parts of your body, is it better to go with a weekly schedule (but really intense workout), or a more bi-daily schedule (not as intense).

Example: One hour only. mondays, work on arms but nothnig else. essentially worknig arms for the whole hour = mroe intense.

vs.

One hour only. mondays, fridays, wednesdays, work on arms, but spend time on other stuff like chests, backs, etc, therefore, less time is spent on the arms, making it less intense.

Basically, would it be better to specialize days into a single body part but having it really intense? or is it better to "spread" the intensity over a number of days?

you should read more and think less.

but workout programming is a function of goals and previous experience. experienced bodybuilders often follow programs along the lines of what you describe. since you are on /fit/, you are not in that category, and therefore it is not a good workout for you.

goal is lean but muscular/really toned

btw, which one are you referring to (the bodybuilding comment)?

first or second scenario?
