I understand from that standpoint is that no matter what you'll need a sizable aerobic base, from which you can improve your speed and strength. Running is an excellent way to build that base and swimming compliments a training routine well as it puts much less stress on the body compared to the pounding effect of running. You'll need to start running and the couch to 5-k is an excellent introduction.

From what I see, keep doing what your doing with your cycling and swimming, just take baby steps with your training till you lose that weight. Leave a lot of room for recovery.
