Sort your environment out first of all.
Block out all ambient light. if there's a streetlamp outside your window, bung a big bit of cardboard or something to totally block out the light.
In the room, make sure all computers are off and all LEDs (especially blue ones) are taped over or otherwise not casting light into the room.
Identify any electrical items that are emitting a humm and turn off as many as possible.
If you have a soft matress, see if there's any way of firming it up. Sometimes a bit of wood underneath works, other times it might mean a new matress.
Lastly if you use an alarm clock, set it to turn the radio on quietly instead of beeping. I used to roll over to check the alarm if I woke up in the middle of the night and cut it off before it went off on a morning... changing it to a softer alarm made it less of an issue disturbing my sleep.
