hey /fit/
I'm trying to lose some weight, and gain some muscle. So recently, I began lifting a 20 pound dumbbell and running 7 miles a day.
So I'm looking for a diet (around 1000-1500 calories) that will support maximum muscle gain, with all the proteins and nutrients and whatnot.
Nothing super exotic and expensive to buy, just household foods that are cheap and easy to get. I have no problem with eating the EXACT same diet every day.

Um... eat 2200 cal worth in cottage cheese per day. It'll work, no joke.

unless you're tiny 1000-1500 calories is way too little.

also how fat are you.

6'4, and I weigh 200 pounds.
My BMR = 2200, so around 1000-1500 is good enough.

(2200 x 1.2) - 1000 = 1640 at the LEAST. And even then, I wouldn't eat that little. You're doing a hard regimen and burning a hell of a lot of calories. Aren't you afraid of putting your body into starvation mode?

Starvation mode happens over an extended period (a few weeks or a month) of an EXTREMELY low calorie diet (1000 and under). So I'm good.
