Gain muscle / weight Anonymous
So im a skinny fuck like the guy on the left side in the picture. REALLY skinny. About 184cm which is 6 feet and only 60kg / 132 pounds. In the past i used to work out a lot.. bench press, situps, butterfly.. the usual shit just to get in shape. I ate and drank a lot more and better but just didnt gain any weight. As a matter of fact, i didnt even manage to gain 8 pounds in like 1 year. 132 pounds seems to be the maximum, i have no idea what to do to gain more weight.

So /fit/ please let me know: What are the most effective ways to gain weight / muscle. Actually, im that desperate, id even gain fat if it was the only option.

too bad it definatly is NOT that simple. as i said i ate A LOT more but still didnt gain any weight - in 1 year.

>>311441
oh okay, i have to admit, i hate milk, so i didnt drink it (except for the protein shakes) thanks for the advice though, gonna keep that in mind.

Yeah man, it really is that fucking simple. If you eat more calories than you burn, you will gain weight. Period. It's simple fucking science...

You just aren't eating enough.

i agree with what youve said but i already had like 6 or more meals a day.. would it be better to cut down the training so i dont burn too many calories? it kinda sounds stupid to me to train less in order to gain weight
>> Anonymous
>>311451
read>>311434or just google hardgainer, there is a nice faq out there
>> Anonymous
>>311459
why would that sound stupid?

training = burning calories

You want to do just enough training to stimulate growth and do nothing more.

What was your training last year, how many calories did you eat, have you read ANYTHING about exercise physiology?

p.s. Don't spread out your meals, that speeds up your metabolism

I wouldnt say im an ectomorph. but for hard gainer and semi hardgainers it would be better to just pie out8 or so meals in to 4 say?

This is maybe going a little far, but I would even say skip breakfast. Then have 2 huge meals later in the day.

Body feels a little starvation and switches to a slower metabolism.

Think about it people. Don't just eat 6 meals because someone else on /fit/ is doing it. WHY are they doing it?

A LOT obviously isn't enough then

E A T M O R E

jesus tapdancing christ why do people never get it

Are you going to try any of my suggestions or just ignore all of them saying they won't work.

Fine go back to eating as much as you can 6 times a day and working out 5 days a week.

On the plus side girls like skinny guys.

NOW GTFO

Op here
>>311514is not me

just came back after reading in hardgainer forums, i appreciate any suggestions. my plan is to make somethin like a nutritional protocol and have like 2 or 3 meals the day

>>311508i didnt read it here, actually its the first time that im browsing this forum.. i just thought it was easier for me to eat more if i split it in a few smaller meals.

So should i actually reduce the training, or at least the repetitions and do them with heavier weights?

I'm really skinny, 6ft tall and used to weigh at about 50kg (give or take 2kg's). I can't gain weight except from heavy weight training, I did a 5k cal diet for 3 months and nothing happened (eating that much is hard and takes time + money). Due to personal reasons I've not had the time nor the care to fix it, until now that is.

I've already scheduled a doctor's appointment for a health checkup. Just want to know that everything's normal before giving this project a go, if I'm lucky/unlucky (depending on your view) I could very well have intestinal parasites.

I plan on having 6 meals per day, I've already prepared my stomach by eating large ammount of oatmeal porridge (quick to make, tastes okay and is easy to swallow down). So now I can eat extremely large servings, which saves time.

In any case, my plan is to train 3 times per week, all musclegroups and using free weights as much as possible. My diet will be set at 4000cal, focusing on quality protein like whey and that from egg and chicken. I will be using protein shakes as food supplement, in total I'll be having 6 meals per day.

- That's how I'll go about it, best of luck to you.

- I'll do some before/after pictures, but it'll be at least 3 months until I can notice any progress at all.

Sounds like my plan - which didnt work. I will give it another try though, i havent been to the gym for a year or so since ive had an accident and then exams and uni. I think the main reason my plan failed was because i didnt DRINK enough (only the protein shakes.. like 3 of them per day) and i had too many repititions with weights that werent heavy enough.
new plan: 3 big meals (btw, read what the other guys said, splitting them in many meals might not be correct), about 3l of milk / proteinshakes / whey drinks, gym 3 days the week - no cardio, bench press etc. with heavy ass weights.

Yea I forgot about mentioning that, I've been told to drink excessive amounts of water (can't stomach milk) when attempting this.

As for 3 meals instead of 6, that sounds interesting. I'll do some more research on that.

OP, sounds like you workout like a faggot.

Look up a proper weight training regime and try again.

The guy in the picture has quite disproportionate arms. Arms are useless. It's all about back, core and below the waist.
