Hey, /fit/ I have a question about how muscles are rebuilt.

I know after a workout, your body uses muscles to build back muscle. But what's the most efficient way to intake protein for maximum muscle-building effect? Should I take in as much as possible right after a workout, or should I stagger it over the next day or so?

Muscles repair most when you sleep. It's a good idea to get some of your protein right before bed.

40 grams pre work out sixty grams right after the workout plus a high protien meal several hours after that.

No, I think it's Marcus Fenix

You should try to get an even amount of protein at each meal every day. If you want 150 grams a day, eat 30 grams over 5 meals. Too much protein in one meal causes your body to convert it to sugar or just flush it out with your urine.

Right after you work out, your muscles are starving for nutrients, so a protein shake within an hour after lifting will give your muscles a boost to start repairing themselves.

The best time is a magical 30 min -1 hour window to get your protein and carbs after a workout.
