Hello /fit/, I have never been here before but I have some concerns about my health.

My sleeping pattern has been fucked up for almost 5 years now (I'm a student). Whenever I don't have to wake up at a certain time I will sleep till 3-5 pm, this will make me totally not tired and I will in turn go to bed very late (5-6 am). Whenever I have to wake up early this is somewhat fixed, but not entirely; I will get up at lets say 8 go to bed at around 2 am and sleep more in the weekend.
Unless I'm REALLY tired I have difficulties getting asleep in my bed. I will though, once asleep have problems to get up.

tl;dr: I go to bed late and get up late, help plz?

I have the same tendencies to stay up late when I don't have work the next day. If you are feeling that your health is getting fucked up from this, you're gonna have to try and go to sleep a little sooner those nights. Try some Calms Forte or some herbal 'nighttime' tea or some crap.

I had this problem too when I was in college.

I finally fixed it by tiring myself out and tylonol PM pretty regularly for a month.

I would go running till I couldnt any more about 3 hrs before bedtime, then take some Tylonol PM an hour before i wanted to go to sleep, and over the course of a month I trained myself to fall asleep around 1pm pretty regularly.

It still works 2 years later.

I have a similar problem except my sleep pattern seems to be rotational. So it'll be proper for about a week, and then for 3 weeks I'll be sleeping through the day and awake all night.

It really fucks with my life; social, school, and work. So it's maybe not entirely unhealthy, but it may be leading to depression down the road.

I'm in the same boat. I'm in college and my part time job is in a bar so i figure my sleep schedule will be different for awhile.

One thing i have heard is that using your bed for anything but sleeping or sex (lol right) like watching tv or using a laptop can really fuck up your sleeping habits.
