Your problem most likely lies in your diet. Eat right. That means cut out sodas, surgery drinks, and fast food. Stick to eating lean meats, vegetables and fruits. Drink water and skim milk. Go easy on the dressing, avoid it completely if you can.
Keep a food log. Count calories. Check how many calories you should be having daily over here: http://www.calorie-count.com/calories/calories-goal.php Adjust your calorie deficit according to how fast you want to lose weight. Don't cut too much or you risk muscle loss.
Keep "running" 6 miles a day. Google HIIT, and see if you can incorporate it into your "running", it tremendously increases the effectiveness of it.
