>>426899 (continues)I know it sucks the way the whole dating thing goes, men are still the only ones who are expected to make the first move (some women do this and get pretty easily marked as "sluts", so it's going to take a while for this to change). That puts you in a situation where you HAVE TO approach women if you ever wish to have a girlfriend. Put don't let this build a horrible pressure: being turned down isn't the end of the world. Men who do well with women aren't neccisarily the best looking ones, they may not have the greatest personality, but they have amazing confidence (ego?) and don't care if they get turned down, even if it happens most of the time. Of course it isn't nice, but they know that it isn't a personal insult from the women, most of them just probably already have someone, aren't looking for company, or just don't care much about your looks/talks/acting. It doesn't mean that they'll laugh at you in disgust: most women have as big (or even bigger) problems with insecurity as you do. If you act polite, then most likely so will she, and if she won't, then screw that. Assholes don't deserve your attention, good riddance.
If you meet a girl that you like, try to get to know her a little. No pressures here either, just chat about universal topics, or even better, if you share something then of course that's the subject. Ask her if she would like to meet again, have a coffee, etc. Just ask it like it's no big deal (and don't MAKE it into one, keep your feet on the ground) and if she turns you down, still act like it's no big deal. Of course, if you're desperatily in love, this is hard, but that's another story.
