What's a good amount of calories to eat per day if I'm trying to lose some extra weight on my torso? I'm pretty sure I have strong abs...they're just covered in fat.

6?! I dont think I have time to eat 6 small meals a day. Apparently I'm not eating anywhere near enough food though, and I've heard its not good to starve yourself while dieting and exercising, even if I'm trying to lose weight.

By six meals I don't mean six full out meals. Take small portions and eat them so you're never hungry at all by spacing them out. I go to school and I eat in class. I get funny looks but at least I know that I be in better shape than those people.
