your military is weak

yea i know my military sucks... been working hard to improve it though. 165 might not be my real max on it. I wanted to go higher and felt like i could, but i didnt have a spoter for military press because my training partner had to leave at 5, and i didnt want to fail on 170 or 175 and drop the bar on my back or head.

Damn... You're a strong dude. I'm squatting half that. You should try to join an o-lifting team.

well i train by doing a bunch of olly lifts. But there are some guys that i train with that are really good, because we have the same strength. But there form is a lot better than mine so they can do cleans and snatches like over 100 pounds heaveir than me. But my squats and bench maxes are still higher than theres. So ive still got them there.

Yeah I guess that means they have more of the explosive power while your strength is better. Also the o-lifts depend a lot on technique, speed, and coordination so there could be a gap there too.

I have to say I'm pretty jealous of those naturally strong guys. I am pretty chiseled and have been lifting a long time but I see so many guys who barely train manage to outlift me. It's depressing.

yea there technique is years ahead of mine in most of the o-lifts.

But ive also been doing compounds lifts for the last 2 years for 5 days a week almost every week of the year except for major holidays. I started out pretty weak. 2 Years ago i was 5'7" weighed 225, and had 32% body fat.

My maxes back then were
Bench:160
Squat: 230
Military:90
Powerclean:105

My military still sucks, but everything else has improved alot for me. Just saying that if you keep with the hardwork, and make lifting a part of your lifestyle permanently it will payoff.

But on another not my friends tell me ima have joint problems all the time when im older. im only 16 right now. b& underaged and all that shit i know but still. Will i have joint problems from lifting like this alot?

Nope, actually your joints will be more flexible and better able to handle a load when you get older, assuming you always use proper form and don't use heavier weights than you can handle.

This is a popular myth but honestly there isn't any reason to believe it. It probably has a basis in anecdotes about young guys doing lifts incorrectly.

Awesome news about the joints man thanks. My form is pretty good. I got taught how to do most of the lifts i know by Jesse Kellum, and hopefully some of yall know who he is and understand why thats so awesome. Because those of you who know who he is know what im talkin about. Anyway, so i think my joints are safe then lol
