I have failed. /fit/.

I spent years losing weight, 220 pounds, only to become weak and eat my bodyweight in food over the course of a week.

Stress? Life? These are not reasons, they are excuses, made by a weak man who doesn't deserve to breath. I will no longer remain a slave to food. This week - I refuse to eat. I feel huge, my titanic gut goes over my pants, at 6'3 and 210 pounds, I am disgustingly obese, and a failure at life.

I will run every single day, twice a day, no weight lifting, unhealthy? Fuck it. I'd rather lose weight unhealthy and die trying than live as a failure, should I fall over from fatigue or starvation, then its fate that I die for failure. I don't want to live anymore like this. I'm disgusting, I'm fat, and I will never achieve any success or happiness like this because I ate. I ATE. I was 196 pounds, on the fast track to losing it all, to be skinny, to be thin, to be attractive. And I've thrown it all away by lifting weights and eating food!

I will live off of water, a multi-vitamin, an iron supplement (I'm anemic), and one meal of fruit a day. Thats one meal. I will run until my body demands I stop, and then run further, if my friends want to go out and eat, I'll ignore them, if my body craves food, I'll sleep to ignore the hunger.

I am done trying things "The healthy way", I'm tired of being fat.

You are not obese- you have serious body image issues. You actually look really skinny to me, especially in the shoulders and arms. May I suggest you eat more, but counter balance the negative connotations you have with food by exercising.

Please do not starve yourself, your loose skin with only get looser making you (from your mirror perspective) appear fatter and fatter. Also, by not eating protein you will essentially lose even more muscle mass, and look like a deflated michelin man.

Also, the reason you have the loose skin is because you are losing weight much to quickly. At 6'3 you are close to your ideal weight in terms of size, you just need to change your bodys composition- may I suggest you do pullups, pushups and squats for a few weeks (say 20, 50, 100 a day) and run 3-5miles to reveal your abs.

Good Luck, don't ruin your chance to look good by being a douche.

This is an unusual thread. Your body fat level appears, from the pictures, to be that of any average person. 210 isn't terrible for 6'3"... to put it into perspective, I'm 5'5" and 190, and that's my pic. As you can see, I have love handles and a bit of chub, but I'm working hard on cutting.

Think about that... 6'3" 210, 5'5" 190.

You aren't doing that badly. Don't slough off all your muscle through starvation! Go to John Stone's website (google it), it helped inspire me. You don't need to do a crazy diet to lose weight, just make sure your effort is crazy.

I appreciate the kind words, the truth is, I really can't help but look at myself in pictures or in the mirror and see anything but the 400 pound dork with a XXXL Shirt on and a 2-liter of soda in one hand with a brat in the other. Fuck. I know I have body image issues, but God, I just want some really visible results, I'm fairly sure if I just keep going hard I'll see something happen, but my God, I push myself constantly and its like...I just snapped and ate my fill, I ate the things I hadn't eaten in 2 years, because I wanted to taste them again. I lost control, and it reminded me that (Oh, you still have a fat ass), etc. I've been depressed since the binge ended.

hey, dont beat yourself up because you cheated on a meal or two, if you went from 409 pounds to how you look now you should be fucking happy with yourself.

and cheating on meals is good to do every once in a while, it keeps you on the right track and keeps you from shitting bricks when you cheat and feel bad about it.

hell i can understand coming from a negative body image that you don't like the fat layer you have, but that picture says you actually have a fair bit of muscle... since it's obviously the fat and the feeling that you can't control your eating, try a fat loss diet as opposed to one which might kill your musclemass as well

Nobody needs a trainer for that.

Cardio exercise? Jump some rope, ride a bike, run, swim, there are so many and they are all the same thing. Exercise directed at cardio. If it gets your heart going and your sweating then your doing it right.

Again nobody needs a personal trainer for this. You could just play dodgeball for an hour a day AND ITS CARDIO...if you actually try...

You're wasting too much mental energy beating yourself up. It's okay to have a cheat day every week or two. Dieting in extremes and killing yourself with exhaustion are sure-fire ways to accelerate self-loathing.

I was really impressed by the Abs Diet (Men's Health) because it allows you to cheat and there are no proprietary bullshit formulas that you have to buy, no corporate dick you have to suck (EAS/Body for Life).

anyway, back to the OP. you will get nowhere fast on that regiment. the key is not to starve yourself - that lowers your metabolism and kills your motivation. determine your daily calorie needs (many ways to do so, http://img.7chan.org/fit/res/11288.html has some good info), only cut maybe 200-300 calories off that, make sure the calories you are consuming are HEALTHY (1000 calories from burgers =/= 1000 calories from veggies), start off a modest cardio program and advance it as you go, and start lifting weights - it helps you lose fat, not weight (it will prob help with the skin issue as well). most importantly: don't quit on yourself, if you do you're doomed to be in the same position you are now for the rest of your life.

I woke up this morning and did about 20 minutes of stretching and bodyweight stuff, I'm stopping to post on here and have a glass of water.

I'm about to go out in the rain and run for 45-60 minutes, come back, and have some breakfast, which I believe will be a healthy meal of oatmeal and fruit.

End of the day, update time.

I ran today, about 2 miles I think? We got hit with a flash rain storm so I had to go inside, it hasn't stopped since. Pathetic.

I ate oatmeal for breakfast, with an apple.
Throughout the day I snacked on fruit when I felt hungry, never touching a sweet thing.
I had a protein shake after working out
For dinner I had a can of that chunky soup (low sodium kind) with an apple. See my problem? I ate something that tasted good for dinner, now I'm bloated and want to kill myself again.

So what do I do? Go lift weights for an hour or two? Go run in the rain? Maybe if God is merciful he'll kill me? (Yeah right.)

Oatmeal with salt and 2 eggs in it (yes, put the eggs in your oatmeal) then microwave it.

I'm 5'7. Used to be 195 pounds. I'm now 163 and very muscular (in my opinion anyway).

I still retain the self-hatred part secretly. Sometimes when I can't see my self in the mirror, or eat some bad food, I feel like I used to feel.

You need to remind yourself that you have changed a lot. You are became a better person and you will even strive for more, if that's your thing.
