Now I know you guys love oatmeal.

I just can't stand the taste of the regular stuff, it's really really bland. I compared the flavored stuff in pouches to the regular stuff in the can and found that it's mostly all the same nutritional data, except for a bit more sugar in the packaged stuff. Should I continue eating the stuff in the package or is that extra bit of sugar really that much worse for me?

Also do you use milk or water?

Try adding cinnamon, yogurt, dried or fresh fruit, nuts or whatever. There are tons of ways to make it taste better, It tastes good if you don't fail so hard.

I get a mix with dried fruit and raisins.
Aside from that, a bit of sugar is not lethal.

Use water unless you need the protein, and the extra sugar is going to add up so just add some fruit or peanut butter to your regular oatmeal.

What's wrong with sugary ones?

I'm pretty much going to cut out all the other unneeded sugar from my diet.

I eat pretty unhealthy yet I maintain the same weight. I'm not fat or anything, I'm only 125, I just want to get rid of some flab. So I'm not going for weigh loss, just trying to eat healthier.

Use milk if you don't already, and you can add in whole range of things like jam or golden syrup, banana, nutella, butter is quite nice, gets all melty. Even have a friend who puts gorgonzola on hers.

I add raisins, dates, walnuts, and butter.

If I feel like I deserve a pick me up I let myself add in a tablespoon of sugar or splenda. The taste is win.

you can also add figs, apricots, golden raisins, mango, pineapple....

If it's dried fruit it taste even better.

I put in about 1 - 1.5 Tbs of sugar in a bowl of oatmeal (made in milk).

So I'm just going to eat the prepackaged ones as you guys throw the same shit in there anyway.

I toss in a little milk and water.

After it's done cooking a dollop of natural (peanuts and salt only) peanut butter and a scoop of chocolate low-carb protein powder make for a weightlifter's peanut butter cup.

Add spices commonly used with sweet foods (eg. cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom), and then you can trick yourself into thinking it's sweet when it isn't.

I make it all regular... but I add in a scoop or 2 of Protien Shake Mix... for flavor and an extra boooost of protien!

if you don't want to bulk up then you pretty much don't have it in you to do so. fucks sake, you can't walk into a gym, lift some weights and turn into auhnold. doesn't work like that.

I eat oatmeal because it makes me not hungry for 8 hours or so... the fiber, protein and what not is nice too. I usually put in a few spoonfulls of splenda brown sugar mix.
