/fit/ is this an acceptable interval training routine:

250lb tire flip for seven reps, followed by 15 burpees. repeat until fail on seventh tire flip. I train alone so i can not really time

So you're basically telling people to keep increasing the probability that they'll fuck up and crush themselves with a 250 pound piece of rubber. Nice.

If you can somehow get crushed by a 250lb tire flip, you're doing it completely wrong.

It is a question, I am not telling people anything. This is what I do.

Perfectly acceptable. Actually, it's pretty badass

Just get a 150 lbs. tire and flip it Tabata style for 8-10 minutes. Hardcore

This is the stupidest thing I've seen this morning. Your workout is fucking retarded. Enjoy fucking up your back and making very few lower-body related gains.

Also, burpees don't count as cardiovascular exercise.

Jesus shitting christ.

Don't listen to this man. If you're doing burpees right, they're one of the best cardiovascular exercises there is (for HIIT, at least - performing them for a long time, form degrades, which ultimately makes running win out), and tire flips fucking rule. This man is a pussy

You're a handling 250 pound free weight. The possibility to fuck up and have it fall back on you is very high if you get too tired, not to mention you might just slip somehow and slide right under it as it crushes your lower body.

Any fitness trainer would shun this kind of exercise, especially doing it unsupervised like the OP claims to do.

op here. 250 is not enough to crush me. the tire is roughly 5 ft tall and has sand in it-- but i can easily bench press it so if it ever fell on me i would have no worries.
