Is apple juice bad for someone trying to lose weight? I eat pretty healthy and have cut down on milk and completely cut out soda, but I work the graveyard shift at a hotel and drink apple juice pretty much exclusively to get me through the night. It has something like 25mg of sugar per serving (I believe per cup), which seems like a lot. Is there anything else that will give me energy without being as unhealthy?

unfortunately only enough sleep will do it. everything else is loaded with the sugars

sugar free red bull. apple juice is pretty much the same as soda. just get yourself a case of sugar free redbull from costco and drink one or two a night. it will speed up your metabolism and help you loose weight.

One or two cups of coffee won't kill you. Pretty sure it's 25 grams of sugar, not 25 mg. If it's pure juice, it's alright. Most supermarket applejuice is just sugar and water though, which has almost no nutritional value.

It's unsweetened 100% natural apple juice.

Isn't red bull supposed to be awful for you?

By alright, I mean decent. If you're trying to loose weight, just drink water. If you need some energy, black coffee or tea (without sugar) has almost zero calories. It depends how badly you want to lose weight and what your activity level is too.

Well when I'm done working out or running I drink water, but when I'm working I need something to keep me up. I don't drink coffee which takes away a lot of options (I try to stay away from caffeine anyway).
