sup /fit/

thinking of adding creatine on top of whey to my supplements

pic related, it's the stuff i'm gonna buy
does this stuff work or is it a placebo?
>> Anonymous
ok

Works perfect, if it is 100% pure creatine. Dont take anything that has added stuff, cause otherwise the total percentage of creatine ina scoop will only be 30%. always take supplements seperately, unless it's a very reliabable brand. just take 100% pure monohydrate creatine, trust, been using it for a while.

the 30%-thing depends on the brand off course.

so pills or powder?

Not OP here, but if you take Whey post-workout, then when would you take creatine?
>> Anonymous
OP, you do understand what creatine is/does, correct?

Literally all it does is help you get more oxygen to your muscles which, in turn, helps you maybe crank out an extra rep or two and recover a little bit faster. It does not in any way help build muscle. Creatine's a very simple supplement and will only help you if you push yourself.

Not saying you won't . . . but creatine doesn't do much of anything really outside of allowing you to push yourself the slightest bit harder and recover the slightest bit faster.

I bought some creatine w/ extra crap from Optimum Nutrition. it says to take it 30-60 minutes before you workout. It will probably say how to take it on what ever you buy

Same time, workout depletes your creatine

post workout as well

why dont you actually try the product before you try bashing it.

um, crea also has the benefit of putting water on your muscle, making them look bigger, if you take it before work out you will break down more muscle fibers, because the pressure from the pump and the extra stamina, take 3/4 before work out and 1/4 after.

according to david barr (and the research he references) creatine is much more effective post workout. I was taking it before workout until i read his article and decided to try it out - i've been making better gains since

So uh, do you like take the creatine IN your whey shake post-workout, if I understand correctly? Or am I missing something?

yeah thats fine

altho lots of people laugh at Dave "pop tarts" Barr in the industry, at least following what he says will put you in the 'modern era'

i am amazed at the amout of fucktardiness here. i cant believe there is even a point of contention on this subject.

have ANY of you actually READ a credible (lol to THIS loaded statement on /fit/) except for the Barr supporter?

how about you GET OFF /fit/ and fucking read, then come back and participate meaningfully

that is so ass backwards. you take 2.5g pre and 5g post with simple sugars. unless you are massive, you wont need a larger dose, and if you were massive you would have some clue what you were talking about in the first place

and it puts water ON your muscles? no, it pulls water into your muscles which are already primarily comprised of water.
