pectoral definition? Anonymous
Hey /fit/....

I'm looking for some exercises to build up my pecs. I'm 23, 5'9, roughly 175lbs and I've never had much definition in that area and it's something I'd like to change. A few weeks ago I started doing some bicep curls and tricep exercises with a 40lb dumbell kit that I procured in my last relationship. The kit only allows for a max of 40lbs, so I'm generally using 40lb for curls and 20lb each for flyees :-/

Is there any specific exercise that you'd recommend to allow for pectoral definition? I can't really afford to start up another gym membership right now, so ideally I'd like something to do from home.

Buy more weights. You're not going to be able to do much for your pecs with 40lbs of plates. Go to a sports equipment resale store, like play-it-again. Plates can be pretty cheap sometimes.

look up all the different pushup exercises. But, prolonged use of your own bodyweight, with high reps, will increase stamina and strength and endurance and definition...but not an increase in muscle size.

I beg to differ. I spent half of my senior year of high school doing 300 push ups a day and my pecks got huge. Generally I have an easy time building muscle, but I'm sure it could work for others.
