Flaxseed meal - godly, or GODLY?
>>270399Is there a high calorie alternative?
Also, it's a replacement for butter/margerine/etc. in cooking
>>270400Eat shittons of it, the fats in it are nothing but good for you, see nutrition info here:http://www.thedailyplate.com/nutrition-calories/food/bobs-red-mill/flaxseed-meal
its for vegan fags that wont use fish oil.
>>270408Dont take the pills, you lose the fiber that way - seed or meal is best
>>270405Oh hey thanks. I'll have to buy some of it soon. How long does it keep?
>>270428fucking forever as long as you keep it in a bag and in the cabinet, if you dont bag it, keep it in the fridge or somethingIt's like flour, lasts a damn long time
Flax seed is awesome in any form (whole, meal, oil). When I make seitan I add whole flax seed and sesame oil to the mix. Delicious and crazy healthy.
One hundred grams of ground flax seed supplies about 450 kilo-calories, 41 grams of fat, 28 grams of fiber, and 20 grams of protein.
Is this really worth having?
>>270458I think forever can be defined as six months to one year? I heard this for other nuts and seeds generally. however all things ground have less potency than originally. This shit lasted "forever" when ground up into little bits, having the insides to air exposed?

>>270402WTF really?! Anyone tried cooking with this instead of butter/margarine? Worked out well, tasted good?
>>270716I've used it. Works well, tastes good, no negative issues as far as I'm concerned other than the fact that it's on the pricey side.
don't fry with flax seed oil or olive oil. it's too fragile to withstand those high temperatures of frying. mono- and especially poly unsaturated fats are really sensitive. use the STABLE FAT such as coconut oil, which is a saturated fat.
>>270731Good clarification. I use it *in* things, rather than frying with it, etc. For frying I often use sesame oil if the flavor is complementary.
How does this stuff taste in oatmeal?
>>270770Nutty.
>>270753olive oil used on cold salads is perfect
