Ok mis/fit/s,

I went ahead and made my first progress picture. I've been staying away from soda and trying to stay away from snacks. I'm not fat on the outside, only about 90-95 pounds but I'm fat on the inside. I'm lazy and trying to change that.

I went for... I'd say about a 2 miles walk today back and forth from my bank and Kmart to check out if they had a few things. I drink Gaterade, apple juice, and cranberry juice. I take Boost in the morning along with Benefiber. If I need a snack I eat either a banana, a couple of fig newtons, or a snickers energy bar. I play DDR before bed since I rest better afterwards and I bought a yoga mat. Might try to find videos online or just figure out Fit TV's yoga schedule.

Is this a good start until I move and find a gym?

Its not bad, but you're drinking a lot of calories. Gatorade and juices all have pretty high levels of either calories or carbs. Juices = 180 calories per 8oz, which is more than soda.

I would say try to switch to water, or at least something along the lines of that Gatorade (Powerade?) Fitness water that has like 50 calories per bottle, but tastes way better than water.

Snacks seem ok. What are your meals like? Aim for protein and vegetables, steamed or raw (steamed is delicious).

As for exercise, you could up the intensity a little with some jogging, push ups, crunches, etc.

But you're not doing bad, but probably just maintaining weight.

Gain muscle. Look good. My girlfriend has a build similar to yours and is doing just this. Perhaps some aerobics if you are into that sort of thing. Yoga would be good too along with any basic amount of body weight exercises (squatz).

You are talking about Gatorades new "G2." It's pretty good and around 25 calories a serving (about 100 calories a bottle.)

Instead of drinking pure juice drink it mixed with water.

Well I'm going to admit right here that my meals suck. Not so much that they're fatting but more along the lines of I don't eat enough. I live with a spanish family right now, because of my boyfriend, and I really dislike their food. I know I should then cook my own food but if I am home during dinner time... the kitchen is a disgusting mess. Plus I can't cook to begin with. I end up staying in the bedroom. Otherwise I'm at work during supper hours and I try to just make a simple enough sandwich.

>As for exercise, you could up the intensity a little with some jogging, push ups, crunches, etc.

Those sound easy enough to do in the bedroom. I'll try these.

>But you're not doing bad, but probably just maintaining weight.

Thats fine by me. I'm only 5 feet or so and I'd think being only 90-95 pounds is light enough. I don't need to be losing weight. Just toning up.

You could try cooking ahead of time. It's what bachelors do all the time. :) Whenever the kitchen looks like it has some room and isn't a complete mess, cook up all your meals for that weak. Seal them and then reheat at your pleasure.

Remember, if you have time to be on 4chan, you have time to put some meat on a Foreman grill and a box of vegetables in the microwave.

I like this idea a lot. I can't wait to move out of here though. Once I'm with my own family again I won't be so nervous to be out about in the house again.

>>44577
It's not that I don't have time. I have plenty. It's just I get really nervous around the other people in the house. I can't stand it.

why the hell are you living with a bunch of spaniards?

It could just be the pants, but you need to do some serious squats.

Someone had to do it. Sorry.

My boyfriend is hispanic. His family drives me nuts though. Plus I think the roommate is illegal. I'm trying as fast as I can to move back to RI. Hopefully there are less hispanics there than down here in FL.

Lol, wow I don't even wanna know. Sounds like a really weird way to live. Mexican guys creep me out. They are always staring at me. creeepy

Well actually the guy is nice. He keeps quite in his room like I do and ironically enough he speaks better english than my bf's mother who's legal. Although in her defense she did have a stroke.

Anyways I'm just trying to get by with the little bit I have until I move back with my own family.

Squats are not going to magically make you lose weight in your legs. Yes they are a good exercise, yes they can help you lose fat, but no they are not the only exercise you need to do and they will also make your legs bigger.

I hate how often 'squatz' are recommended here as some magical cure. Just take hot-rox and squatz and u'll be ARnold aSDfajowiejagegger

Ok you stated how squatz are not the magic pill /fit/ makes them out to be.

Now address what other exercises should go along side them.

Squatting is the exercise most neglected by beginning trainers, so there's a natural overreaction by people on training boards to make sure n00bs understand how important it is.

Squatting isn't a silver bullet, but until pencilneck motherfuckers quit spending all day in the leg press and get under the bar I will tell shout "SQAUTZ" until I'm red in the face.

Squatting should be a part of a well-rounded weight training program that also focuses on pushing and pulling. A pressing exercise like benching or OHP and a form of deadlift should be the other two main points of focus. Bent over rowing with a bar or dumbbell will help keep you from muscular imbalance.

Cardio and conditioning work is something else entirely. Running, ropework, interval training and so on all have a place in there.

Ok well I just downloaded 8 minute abs, legs, stretch, arms, and buns. I am more out of shape than I thought. I'm so sore right now and during the abs one my neck hurt like hell. I was following what they where doing so hopefully I wasn't doing it incorrectly.

The buns one was hard too. Felt like fire near the end.

tl;dr- Is starting out with 8 minute workouts everyday good for a beginner?

Don't forget dips, they're like the upper body squat.
>> Inner Fatass !v3UJOpkW.I
>>45287
May I ask what are dips? The videos covered squats twice but no dips.
>> Anonymous
>>45283
They're mostly bodyweight moves, right? I don't see why that would be a problem. Record your improvement and keep us posted.

Dips can be done off of any ledge (eg, a chair) if you don't have parallel bars (or if there's a playground near you, try out the monkey bars). If you have two chairs with armrests that can support your weight, you can line those up for parallel bars. It's better with parallel bars because you can do them full bodyweight.
>> Inner Fatass !v3UJOpkW.I
>>45318
Well there are two playgrounds near my house I could walk to but that seems odd to just do dips. Ass for the chairs.. I'd rather not drag those through the house with people around.

I'll just wait for a little bit.
>> Hanh !uYPdNE/joA
Take a better photo. You can just wear a bra, it doesn't make a difference in the shape of your body for the photo.
But I suggest taking off the pants because it mishapes your body in the photo.

Limit your fruit juice intake, there's lots of sugar there and while its nowhere near as bad as drinking soda, its a lot of calories.
Eat lots of veggies and lean meat. You just need some muscle to give your body firm definition.
