How important is tanning in relevance to health? I realized I've never seen a pale dude who is strong/looks strong.
I've been weight training for about a year, but I've never been out in the sun except to jog. Will getting a tan make my abs pop out or something?

too much sun will obviously give you sun damage, which, potentially, could lead to skin cancer. at the same time, your skin uses the sun to produce vitamin D....basically you have to moderate your exposure to the natural sun and decide for yourself whether the benefit of looking damn good outweighs the possible consequences of too much sun exposure.

Right.

The cons outweigh the pros in terms of tanning. It has temporary gains such as reduction in acne and a toner look, but never sacrifice you skin for that. If you do, you'll look like shit once you hit 30, and you'll be at risk for skin cancer. That's why you should only go out if you have a suitable SPF of sunscreen for your skin. NEVER go out in intense sun without sunscreen.
