Hey /fit/
I'm pretty healthy, but I have trouble eating an "ideal" healthy diet and I'm worried it will catch up with me when I get older. I don't drink soda or junk food, but I just can't eat vegetables. I've tried numerous times over the past few months, but each time I feel like I am about to hurl as soon as I bite. Is there anyway to make myself like vegetables or get them into my diet, but avoiding the taste? Or do I just have to eat them and quit complaining?

Try some V8 juice (or V8 Splash), or add a tomato or something to a big sandwich. Also, mushrooms have a very subtle taste, so you can throw them in with something like pork or stew and not really taste it. Maybe some fajitas - lots of steak, throw in some peppers.

V8 doesn't provide the same nutrients that raw vegetables do. Mushrooms are not vegetables and really don't give you anything.

I agree about the sandwich thing, though. Consider this: Aside from the bun, the contents of a deli meat sandwich are no different from a chef salad. You've got lean turkey or ham, and whatever veggies you want. As long as the bread isn't a really heavy white bread loaded with sugar, it's a completely healthy meal.

Try something like ranch or italian dressing. Just remember to dip each bite, not pour the dressing onto a pile of veggies. That will minimize the amount you actually consume.

Veggies have never really bothered me, but either of these two dressings make them taste orgasmic. They may not be healthy (I think they are, truth be told...lots of EFAs), but if they help you down veggies it's no loss.

How I make a bowl of my awesome vegetables - listen up:

Get bags of the frozen stuff. "Mixed", spinach, and broccoli. Whatever; a combo. Put a half-cup of each in a bowl. Sprinkle on some "cajun" seasoning stuff, and fake bacon bits. Microwave for 2.5 minutes. Then put some shredded sharp cheddar cheese on top and stir it up so it melts in there. Let it cool and eat.

Very few things taste better than this... maybe BBQ pulled pork pussy chocolate sandwich would beat it. MAYBE.

I'd usually say it's all willpower. But holy shit, how do you hate eating vegetables? I fucking love tomatoes, lettuce, mustard leaves, etc. Even as a little kid. How the hell do you hate vegetables?!

i hated veggies when i was a small kid up to teenager.

Later on,i forced myself to chomp down some greens for every meals.
Initially,i hated the taste and took ages for me chew and swallow it.

After doing it for a while,i actually got used to it and i love it.Now i can eat a veggies only meal without any meat and do not feel like i forced to eat dog food.

Don't use lettuce on your sandwich. Use spinach. Way, way more nutritionally dense, doesn't taste much different.
