What are your thoughts on Tai-Chi and other exercises? I'm looking to get into one. Suggestions? Links?

I know some 80+ year old people that do Tai-chi everyday, and they look like they're 45. All those concentrated movements at slow speed work out nearly every muscle. So it definitely works, just Google for a teacher or something in your area.

Tai chi is excellent. I've been doing it for about a year and I enjoy it very much. If you try tai chi and you find it isn't for you, I'd also highly recommend yoga.

i am actualy a (former) shaolin kung fu student, and trained in tai-chi for over a year.
i can say that tai chi is one of the most flexible and dynamicly powerfull exercise forms there are.

Also, if you have the right teacher, one of the most formidable forms of kung fu.

Proper fast Tai Chi is also awesome

Used to do it. It's perfect for getting into shape, but don't expect to bulk up doing it, nor expect it to defend you from armed muggers.

My P32 and /k/ will help you out there.

Just hoping for stress relief and flexibility.

Any good books/Dvds out there?

Then tai chi is the way to go. Books and DVDs are very nice but frankly, they're suited only to be supplements to regular, personal instruction. And especially with something so intricate and detail-specific as tai chi, there is absolutely no substitute for personal instruction from a qualified sifu.
