How healthy are eggs? I have come to the understanding that they are one of the best sources of protein, but I also understand that they are reputably cholesterol-bombs.So what does /fit/ suggest for the average person of average weight, average muscularity, average everything, 18-30 years old? Eat just the egg whites (as far as I understand, egg whites contains about half the protein with none of the cholesterol)? Has the danger of cholesterol in eggs been exaggerated and the health benefits of the egg outweighs its downsides?Does the way you prepare eggs change its nutritional value? Of course, when you fry eggs, the added oil changes the nutrition of the overall meal, but what about hard-boiling the egg? Essentially, nothing is really added, but I assume it would make it easier to absorb the nutrients than eating it raw (just an assumption).I have seen people in the dining hall who ask for anywhere from 2 fried eggs to 8 at a time, for a meal. Those who ask for the larger numbers tend to be pretty large themselves, whether obese or insanely muscular (or some of both), though. But after seeing things like this, I began to wonder about its nutritional prudence.
>Has the danger of cholesterol in eggs been exaggerated and the health benefits of the egg outweighs its downsides?this
In b4 fucking shitstorm full of shit and "science"
>>164468If that is your conclusion, then how many eggs would you suggest eating daily/each meal? I assume that even if eggs' benefits outweigh its drawbacks, you still need a balanced diet and a balanced diet does not comprise entirely of eggs.
If I remember correctly, dietary cholesterol affects only like 1-5% of your overall cholesterol. If you have absolutely shit worst cholesterol ever, then use, it matters. For the majority of people, it's not a big deal.
6 or less eggs a day will have no negative impactsnever eat raw egg whites without the yolk too
I tend to eat at least 4 eggs a day and I'm not dead yet
>>164605Everything I've ever read has said the exact opposite of this. Also, powdered egg whites are supposed to be awesome, but I have little personal experience with them.
Also, one thing to keep in mind is that most people talking about how bad eggs are refer to cooked/fried eggs. If you don't cook them, they're far far far better for you than if you do.
>>164652Are you suggesting that raw eggs is nutritionally better than cooked eggs? Does this include hard-boiled eggs? Or perhaps frying it in generally healthy type of oil (olive, canola, peanut, etc)?
>>164468So one of those Egg Council creeps got to you, too, huh?
