Scenario: You're on a group vacation without your car and have no idea where anything is. Your group decides that, for dinner, they're going to stay at the hotel room and order chinese.

You've been eating healthy as fuck for months and working out almost daily. You don't have 'cheat days' and find greasy food disgusting when you do try to eat it. You really, really don't want to break your routine and eat this shit but you have no other choice unless you want to not eat until the next day.

What's the healthiest thing on a typical chinese carry out menu? Everything I've found that seems healthy is drenched in sauces and shit.

Yeah. Jerks had me work 29 consecutive days, so i had free noodles everyday, and lost a shitload of weight... Combined with diet and exersize of course, but yeah.

All those vegies and noodles have lots of fibre i guess, so you dont get hungry afterwards.

But, here's a real answer to your question. Try something with thin rice noodles, and if you can, ask for less sauce. Beyond that, its all pretty good, Unless you're trying to go really low carb. But shit, you'll work it off.

I've been to China, and effectively every Chinese person I met was beanpole skinny, even the ones who out-ate me, ergo Chinese food is not especially fattening. Of course, Chinese food in the U.S. has probably been beefed up a little, but is still less chubworthy than, say, anything from McDonalds barring the salads.

As for actual food recommendations, I suggest fried noodles or steamed rice and, if they have it, ma-po doufu if you don't have anything against a bit of ground pork in your spicy tofu. Otherwise, bakchoi/seasonal vegetables/whatever are good, along with fried mushrooms if they have any.

If you're still worried, buy some carrots and lettuce, you... you... goddamned fluffy woodlands animal.

Hot and sour soup with some beef and broccoli. Tell them to go light on the sauce.

battered nothing, fried nothing.

if you have 1 cheat day a week of 7, what's 1 more going to do?

besides, you'll be able to compensate afterwards, if you want to really give in to the whims of group mentality. you could bring something you know.
