I've heard, for males at least, that Milk is very, very unhealthy as it contains high amounts of estrogen, and will essentially turn you into a pussy. Well, I guess not that extreme, but it will do things like make you tired during a workout, grow small breasts, etc. True or false?

Think about it, would they need to advertise it as this 'miracle drink' if it actually was one? In America I can't turn on a TV or open a magazine without seeing a 'GOT MILK?' ad. I don't ever see a 'GOT STEAK?' or 'GOT CAR?' advertisement. Why would they need to advertise milk? I mean, I could understand it if they were advertising a particular milk company, but they just advertise it in general, which is very suspicious to me.

They use scare tactics as well, I remember seeing a got milk commercial where a guys arms fell off when he tried to lift something and his arms FELL OFF because he didn't drink milk.

Just something to think about, I'm not an expert on health.
>> Anonymous
OP is thinking of soy milk.
As for milk being unhealthy, it's usually just the fat content that makes it so. rBGH is also a health issue, but it isn't used very often anymore.

people have been drinkin milk for fucking ages ...why the fuck are some of these paranoid self proclaimed nutrionists/fitness gurus saying its bad for you. Its one of the best sources of calcium and protein WHICH YOUR BODY FUCKEN NEEDS FOR HIGH INTENSITY TRAINING!...way to believe all the fucking drama about hormones and genetic manipulation, if your so paranoid drink fucking organic.

>>82850
and the fuck does marketing have anything to do with it being unhealthy ?...is milk the new cigarette....gonna have fucking TRUTH ABOUT MILK commercials now? Bunch of fucking liberal foil-hat wearing fagots
>> EvenSteven !!RBDL+S5h60X
Only PETA-loving pussies won't drink milk.

I'll fucking eat steaks and drink milk and I'll laugh in the face of any PETA pussies who cry about it. Maybe I'll throw some veal to the dogs just to prove the point.

Soy milk is what has estrogen, like all soy products.

>>82663

Soy milk has estrogen, like all soy related things.

Normal milk is absolutely fine. I drank 4 litres of 1% a day while I was bulking. There's pro-athletes that use the same sort of regimen for putting on size as well.

THERE IS NOT ENOUGH ESTROGEN IN SOY TO FUCKING MATTER. YOU WOULD HAVE TO INGEST 30 TIMES THE AVERAGE AMOUNT OF DAILY SOY INTAKE IN ORDER TO NOTICE THE ESTROGEN EFFECTS.
>> Anonymous
>>82850

Probably because milk is not that delicious (in my opinion, anyway).

Nobody has to persuade me to eat a steak because steak tastes awesome. Nobody has to persuade me to drive a car because I must in order to get to work.

But milk? Bleh. It is not so tasty that I would actively want to drink it if I didn't know it was healthy. If I didn't know milk had healthy benefits, I'd just drink water or juice. But maybe that's just me.
>> Anonymous
>>82875
hell your drinking water probably has estrogen in it. ever hear of people dumping their prescription pills down the drain?

also, males do have estrogen in their bodies. just like females have testosterone. HURDUR
>> Anonymous
>>83835

I agree with this. A small amount of estrogen isn't dangerous. It's not like it's poison or something.

I mean look at girls. They are chock full of it, and they seem to be doing alright.

Basically, all this commotion around soy began with that article on t-mag or t-nation. From then, everyone is so hyped up about soy, even though most people don't know anything about it, they will carry on the "ooh soy is filled with estrogen", thinking that one glass of soy milk or a slice of tofu cheese will turn you in a woman. I guess the 30% of soy's dry matter is actually pure estrogen?

About the notorious article itself, why it had so much effect is because people are easily frightened. The whole interview was based on her personal opinion, where are all those studies from verified facilities, where are all those thousands of nutritionists confirming that soy is so harmful and filled with estrogen based on their thorough research?

She is the sole responsibility for the soy myths being so widespread. I could care less about her stupid opinion, I've seen thousands of books from doctors and similar claiming all sorts of things, from ghosts to body toxins to anything else.

Sure, go believe some 50 year old bitch scaring you into not eating something. I won't.
>> Anonymous
>>83845

*sigh*

I know, but like I said, a small amount of estrogen is not harmful for a male. A small amount won't make you grow boobs and it won't compromise your physical ability.

There is a trace amount of estrogen in milk, actually. Same with soy. Neither is going to have any effect on you.

A lot of health nuts abhor milk mostly because of bovine hormones. However, there aren't any real studies to support their claims. Back when I had bad acne, I was advised on the interwebs to cut all dairy, so I did. Four months later, my acne was unchanged, so that was bullshit. I'm very skeptical. Dairy is such a cheap, easy source of protein and nutrition. Nobody can dispute that kefir is healthy as fuck.
>> Vul !!e95V2fmCESS
If you want bigger breasts, drinking milk will have shit effect. You need to drink soda instead.
>> Anonymous
Anti-milk people are trying to get you to join their PETA/vegan/organic lifstyle.

Pro-milk people are part of the industry and want to rake in profit.

Bottom line: Milk, like any other food, has its pros and cons. But there's a lot of false shit being thrown around from both sides, so the magic word remains: MODERATION

ok so my milk has 8.0g protein per 250mL, and it's a 3 litre bottle, so 96g of protein

it cost me $5.18, which is about the same price as a kilo of lamb or minced beef... i think i'll stick with the meat instead of chugging entire bottles of milk

people seriously drink an entire bottle of milk for the protein? meat seems way better
>> Anonymous

>> Anonymous
>>85191
$5.18??????? overpriced milk is over priced
>> Anonymous
>>85137

Umm, you don't actually use all of that protein. Most if it is wasted (over 50%).

If you compare the price per g of protein of between Milk and Eggs. milk is still expensive
