I'm hungry for some pasta, but I heard it's not very good when you're trying to lose weight. How about whole wheat pasta?

Look at the serving size and measure calories, measure calories in sauce and meat if you're using it, and combine it to have it near what you normally would eat at dinner. Done and done. Also, yes, use whole wheat. Not enriched whole wheat, just the pure stuff.

Also try and find some that's gluten free. It's better for you, and you don't get the shitty feeling you do after eating a bunch of wheat gluten.

If you eat it before a workout, that would be best.

As long as the food reaches a certain chemical state within the stomach (I forget which) and begins to get sent through the intestinal sphincter, you're good.

It really depends on what kind of metabolic and digestive rate your body has.


I have a bowl of oatmeal and peaches every day before working out, and it takes me about 45 min to get to the gym. I've never felt nauseous.

A serving size of straw whole wheat spaghetti is like 200-210 calories. A serving of sauce is 40-60 calories. Add some meat. Seriously can't be that much.
