How long should I be waiting in between sets?

I wait about a minute between sets. Sometimes a min and a half if it's a large muscle group(s).

Depends on whats your goal.

If youre going for endurance or are trying to get lean, 1 - 1.5 minutes rest.

If you are lifting heavy with low reps (1-5) then its good to give yourself anywhere from 2 to 4 minutes of rest.

Long enough to rest, short enough so you don't cool down.

I'd say it'd probably varies from person to person. I feel like I have to rest about 3 minutes before I feel confident enough to do my next set.

For hypertrophy: 60 - 90 seconds

For strength: 3 - 5 minutes

I've heard numbers from 30 seconds all the way up to '3 minutes' according to my pastor (who was a hardcore bodybuilder in the early 90's) I'd say this is one of those things everyone has an answer for, and hardly any of them has serious proof. Find a time you like and stick to it, mark your gains. Next month, try something else and decide for yourself what got you best gains.
