Hey /fit/, I need some resolution.

I exercise pretty much everyday. I do some light lifting (30 lbs dumbbells, various exercises with them) and then I usually do cardio, which is running. I run for about 45 min. a day.

Is it bad to be exercising everyday? Generally I see recommendations from people saying "do this 2-3 times a week and that 3 times a week". I understand muscle needs time to rest before it takes effect, but what about cardio for the sake of weight loss?

Pic unrelated but funny/true.

I also do about 100 pushups and crunches/reverse crunches a day.

yes, you hinder your body from repairing itself. Put in a rest day.

Run as much as you want just don't exceed running 4 miles per day. You won't have enough energy to get through the day if you did that.

for what reason?..

To maintain muscle mass. I get pretty good amounts of protein, I figure I may as well do bodyweight exercises.

I dunno, I'm a newb at these things, but I'm relatively fit.

Alright, so how many times should I run for 45 minutes a day (on a per week basis)?

The thing is, I have a lot of free time so I generally use it to work out when I've got nothing else.
