What is the purpose of doing push ups with fisted hands, or on the back of your hands?
>> Anonymous
Fisted hand push ups are to increase bone density for your knuckles, I'm not sure about back hand push ups but probably a similar purpose.

Are you serious? bone density? lmao

its basic physics. the pushup is harder because the base (ur fists) have less surface area to support ur body weight as opposed to open hands

yes faggot, bone density

Bone density, yes. Certain martial art training regimes incorperate fisted push ups for that purpose.

You clearly know nothing about elementary physics...

the purpose of a wrist push up is to strengthen them against wrist-locks

My wrist was hit by a baseball years and years ago. And then later i fell off my bike and hit it on a tree or something.

Anyways there seems to be some swelling within the bones in the wrist or something is messed up.

For the most part it's fine, but pressing down flat on my wrist like in a pushup hurts, not badly but it's there. So i've just learned to do pushups on the knuckles. It's more manly that way anyways.

It's not a terrible problem, just something i try not to aggravate and because then it actually does become a problem.

Look, fisted pushups are more difficult because they have to recruit an extra joint (the wrist) as a stabilizer.

OP pic pushups are just stupid as far as I know. Unless you want to reduce your ability to hyperextend your hands. I don't, though.

not only that but fisted pushups allow you to go a little bit lower.

That much is obvious.
