Dear /fit/,

Who decreed that 1200 calories per day was the absolute minimum? What about averaging 100-200 calories below that and feeling peachy keen?

Am I actually dying slowly? Permanently screwing up my metabolism so that I'll gain weight if I eat more by so much as a wafter-thin mint?

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Here's the story, brah, since I was once in your position.

It's aight to be ana to a point--say 15% bodyfat. Beyond that, it won't work--hell, all the exercise in the world coupled with a shit diet like that is just going to make you GAIN FAT but maybe seem thinner due to your muscles being absolutely minimum thinness. Eating well again temporarily will all store as fat too, but you can jump out of that hole quick enough and make some good gains in as little as a month if you clean up your diet (get the right ratio of the macronutrients at certain times of day).

Good speed.

Here's a gif of me going from 500-1000 cal a day to 2000-2200, progress pics taken a month apart. The thinner one is the higher caloric intake.

I'm getting the same results by cutting my calories to 1500 from 2200

If you're already overweight by a far amount, starving yourself is going to destroy your skin elasticity and you'll be left with the body of a grandpa.

But are you exercising every day on top of it? 1500 calories is pretty shallow--so you must either be really small or really inactive.

As for me, per the pic, I run 3 miles minimum daily plus lift weights every other day. Also, I ate this in that duration too and lifted to compensate.

Prior to upping my caloric intake, I was stuck at the starting point for 2 years and exercising just as much. My lack of nutritional knowledge held me the fuck back, as I kept trying to convince myself that what I was doing + binging was the good way.

Thanks for your help, anon!

What do you mean by macronutrients at right times of the day? Proteins at 3:00 PM or what?
