You need to take days off in between weight lifting so your body can recover? This sounds like bullshit me. I'm going to work out the same muscle groups everyday unless you can convince me otherwise.

i've done a squatz/deadlift/bench + other not as important exercises daily for 3 months and made fantastic gains, infact i'm planning to go back to a 5 day a week full body.

olympic lifters will practice their lifts 3 times a day every day. and waterbury suggests 4-5 day a week fullbody.

i happen to agree overtraining is harder to do then some lazy fucks would like to believe, so that they don't have to feel guilty about not lifting as often.

Well, you probably aren't going as hard as you could, I'd think that you'll plateau soon. Fullbody 5 days a week? Sounds like bodybuilding, I don't like it though, your CNS will be fried, it need times ot recover like anythign else.

Also, while olympic lifters may practice 3 times a day, doesn't mean they're going heavy on it.

Think of it this way.

Your muscles are like a bridge. When you lift weights, you break down those bridges, and your body rebuilds them bigger and stronger.

But it takes times for your muscles to be re-built. If you keep knocking it down day after day you won't be able to finish building the new bridge.

This is my concern. If I lift the same every day for 30 days, I will be able to lift more on day 31 and I will look better than if I lifted 20 days and took rests for 10 days throughout. My experience with lifting makes me believe that constant workout will outweigh lack of recovery. You recover enough when you sleep.

there is a difference. When you lift weights, your muscles tear. If you are lifting heavy weights, you need to give that muscle group aday or 2 to repair itself. Being sore has nothing to do with these tears, soreness is lactic acid build up in your muscles, when you do anerobic execise (lifting weights) your cells dont get air while they are working to they produce lactic acid to continue production of ATP which is the main source of energy for cells. So if you are sore, dont not lift, they wont help. Instead if you are sore do much lower weights but more repitions so your muscles work and build the protein to repair your tears making your muscles bigger, and remove the lactic acid that causes you to be sore. Another great way to be able to work every muscle group out each day is to go buy Whey protein shakes from GNC, drink one before and immediatly after your workout, and i promise you wont be as sore, or wont be sore at all, and if you arent sore you can do more, plus the extra protein is helping repair your muscles faster.
