YOGA! anonymous
hey /fit/ im looking to take up yoga during the summer to improve my flexibility along with keeping my regular workout regimen that i do already. ive been on a bulking part of a body building workout/diet for the past 3 months and have seen great results. But i dont want to lose my flexibilty with this because it would hurt me during wrestling season next year. So will yoga help to increase my flexibility which id say is a little better than average because i stretch for 15 mins everyday, or should i just not bother with it and stick to my regular 15 minutes of stretching after my 2 hr workout and 30 mins of cardio? Plus ive done yoga before to help recuparate from a torn rotator cuff and some muscle problems in my neck so im not completely new to it.

So for short, will yoga keep me from losing flexibility or help me become even more flexible to help with my wrestling season for next year. Or should i just stick with my regular stretching?

OP here. Anyone have an opinion on this or experience with yoga. Like your an instructor or take the class. Just looking for advice before i start paying for a gym membership, because i want to find out if its actually worth it.

I do yoga on top of weight training and cardio usually about once a week. I'm incredibly flexible and my balance has improved a bit.

some of the stretches are not particularly good for you, but you can improve flexibility you can do a myriad of healthy stretches. Do advanced techniques that you are flexible enough to do, it will increase balance, and strength if you aren't particularly strong already.

Just my thoughts. Do yoga and stretch.

this is OP. i wouldnt say im incredibly strong but im not to bad off. Weight is 180 height 5'7". Bench max of 270 and squat max of 510. For flexibilty right now ive gone from not being able to touch my toes with straight legs to almost being able to fit both feet behind my head. So im ok strong, but i want to get a little more flexible. But ive already gotten a lot more flexible than i used to be. Also will yoga help make me stronger, or am i at a level of strenght right now where it will just be maily a cardio/weight loss type thing. Cause i need to lose another 10 lbs to get to 12% bodyfat.
