I'M NOT ANOREXIC/BULEMIC AARGH o_o Anonymous
Okay so basically I'm 5'11 and I tend to weigh 135, but ever since /fit/ came out, I started doing a lot of excersizes and started eating a lot more to increase my metabolism. (Mostly just healthy stuff, I'm vegetarian). Basically, It has helped me gain weight (doing cardio with a bunch of situps) so that I'm now about 140, but I think it's muscle. So I gained 5 pounds, and then my aunt comes up to me and says she's been noticing that I "lost weight"? What the hell? I kept trying to defend myself when she says "I know you throw up" and that "you have an image of skinniness" and stuff and that "you binge". Really, I just eat 1700-2000 calories a day, I don't binge, I don't throw up, and this is so annoying. My science teacher has confronted me in a similar way and this is like one of the most annoying things ever. If I gain lean muscle, people think I'm more anorexic, and if I drop it, they'll think I'm anorexic...again. Do I have to be really fat to live in this world? What do I do? Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh everyone's confronting me on all sides and it's hard @_@

Don't worry about what people think. Laugh and say "Nah, I've just been eating right and stuff," even if it comes off bitchy. I think it's bitchier that they're accusing you of having an eating disorder.

I do do that, but then they play this guilt trip card. "See? You're trying to defend yourself, and I was JUST looking out for you. GEEEEEEEZE *snarl snarl*" And then so like they kind of guilt trip me into just standing there and listening to them and going "Uh huh, uh huh. Oh. Uh huh. Okay. I see" While they're saying like "This can lead to DEATH or...or WORSE! It's even worse than eating a lot!"
And then there's my science teacher who thinks that just because he can see my boxers on some really old worn pants that are only expected to stretch out after you've owned them for like, 2 years? They are slim fit, but slim fit turns into loose fit after you've worn them so long, so now they're like "Omg he's in skinny jeans that are BAGGY@__________@"

What do you mean? Vegetarians don't eat healthy stuff? My main unhealthy thing is peanut butter, and that's literally it. I just usually eat cereal, portabella mushroom burgers, toast, bananas/oranges/grapes, and I usually put tomatoes and onions on bread stuff (like the burger). It's pretty healthy.

The biggest danger to a diet and exercise program are the people around you. If you're doing this safely (from your OP you are), then you have nothing to fear from what you're doing.

People are scared of change. They also resent seeing someone else do what they should but don't.

The problem with a vegetarian diet is that it usually lacks certain proteins or is low on proteins in general.
Just make sure you eat a lot of nuts and soy. Or get protein supplements.

People tend to worry about that, but it's actually a not ever a problem, no matter what. EVERYTHING has protein basically. When people say "VEGETARIAN? OMG HOW DO YOU GET PROTEIN?"
I do a facepalm or two. Rice has a lot of protein. Peanut butter, beans, anything. Protein adds up, too. Meat isn't like, the only source of it.

im 16 years old and 100 pounds, i eat realy healthy and frequently and it seems i never gain weight. im vegan but ive actually gained a significant ammount of weight since choosing it, and i do eat right. ive always been realy skinny

people always think i have an eating disorder or im malnourished, its realy annoying.

Arm yourself with knowledge about anorexia. Quote some long fact you researched and believe in un front of them. Put them in they're place. The desired effect is they're stuttering and can't get back to you without researching it themselves.

I think anorexia is defined as eating 200-500 cal a day. The big mantra in this group of people is "·To be hungry and not eat is mastering their body·" Exercise most important solution.

Bulimia on the other hand is worse. They are right to be "worried", but not asses, and not talking out their asses either.

Bulimia
· can eat 6000-10,000 kcal, then purge
· binging.
· Precipitated by emotional reasons.
· Poor dental health due to vomiting. (Enzymes).
· Bulimia can be more dangerous more quickly than anorexia

I need to eat healthier. I'm 5'7" and 135 lbs. I got about 5 lbs on my stomach I want to loose and I shit bricks. (See other post about constipation). If I don't take my multivitamin I have very little motivation and just sit around on the internet all day.
