i dont want to keep taking whey protein. It makes your muscles look "inflated" and bulky. I can tell almost instantly at the gym who's on whey and who isnt.

Is there any other protein supplement that isnt derived from whey that people have used and liked?

he's right, incase anyone is wondering. Whey is a "sticky" protein and binds to water, making muscles look bigger, so they appear to pop out more.

I use soy protein instead.

do ya think proteins aren't broken down in the stomach? as if whey protein is directly absorbed through the walls of your guts and transported in toto into your muscles.

soy vs whey:
- different percentages of amino acids ("amino acid profiles")
- different rates of digestion
- different rates of absorption
- different sources (animal vs vegetable)

regardless of the reasoning behind it, its something that i have noticed to be associated with whey protein

The "inflated bulky" look OP complains about --
I deduce it has to do more with water retention than anything else. To think you can look at a person and know what protein they're eating is utter bullshit.
