Vitamin advice Anonymous
I'm a 16 year old, 5'8 at about 140-150 pounds or so.

I've started working on some simple exercises, like walking to school and running more often, in preparation for more hardcore stuff this summer.

I was at the store today, and I ran across some vitamins. I bought three of them and I decided to ask about dosage advice. I know some stuff can be bad if you take too much of it, especially at a younger age.

Alright, first thing I got was some Centrum A to Zinc. Here are the contents: http://www.aragonproducts.com/theproducts.cfm?master=2414

The next is Cholesterol and Mercury Free Fish Oil for the Omega-3 Fatty acids. It has ten calories, but it has 1,000 mg of Fish Oil per softgel pill. (Percent Daily Values based on a 2,000 calorie diet).

The final one is Calcium 1000 Mg+D with 600 mg of calcium in each softgel pill. It's normal serving size is two pills. (Percent Daily Values based on a 2,000 calorie diet).

I'll ask some more questions after my initial question is answered.

Err, sorry I may not have worded this right. My apologies.

"Is any of this stuff poisonous for me as a teenager since I know most multivitamins are made for adults unless specified otherwise."

as another 16-year old, I take one calcium citrate, one teen multivitamin supplement (which would be ideal in this case, I'd imagine), one vitamin C, and one vitamin E with a glass of milk once a day after a workout

I think you'd have to go way over the recommended daily amount to really OD. for example, one vitamin E is several hundred percent of a daily value, and I have yet to develop any problems despite using this kinda stuff since I was about 12.

you'll be fine, buddy.

Multivitamins usually contain only small amount of calcium (it's bulky), so multivitamin + calcium is fine. Just don't go over the DRI. Link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dietary_Reference_Intake

I hate it when people say this where it's not necessary. That rule was put up to keep children out of porn (i.e. ass-covering) and is enforced to keep them from shitting up threads. If minors are making quality discussion, then you yourself are threadshitting by making a deal out of it. /rant

I take a Centrum and two 500mg calcium carbonate pills a day. The Centrum doesn't have much calcium in it, so don't even worry.
