The website is goofy, but the No S Diet is a sound, simple eating plan. No snacks, no sweets, no seconds.
If you want to get more in-depth: Cook everything yourself. Buy nothing in a box. Make your plate 2/3s plants when you eat. Pick one day a week to go out and eat with friends (if you plateau with a cheat day, go for a single cheat meal every week.)
I'm experimenting with the Zone as done by CultFit right now. It's pretty involved, but it runs on the basic principles of caloric restriction and good food choices. Focus on those two things and you can't go wrong.
