it is a perfectly viable substitute, and contains exactly the same proteins. it also still contains lactose, which is a carbohydrate, hence the comment about calories by another anon. and fat, which is not a bad thing. unless you are morbidly obese. then you shouldn't be eating anything, so die.
i used to mix it with liquid whole milk and cocoa powder, shit was so cash. it also induced temporary allergies, make me fell ill and full of mucous. ymmv.
