/fit/s opinion on the physical achievement of Shaolin Monks? Particularly how often they train a day. Wouldn't training less and sleeping more be more beneficial than the whole insane "EVERY WAKING MOMENT" thing?

LOL OMG they jump so high they must be like anime heroes XD

I love how they train their jumps. Jig a one foot hole and jump out of it, then back in, then back out and then back in. Then every so often add a foot to the hole until you end up with a ten foot hole.

I've seen two documentaries on them. The one old Chinese one, which had the best footage and then that more recent Discovery Channel one which had a lot more accurate information, but a lot less interesting footage (Would we really rather see them meditate as opposed to sparring?)

The Discovery narrator said that due to the amount of time they spend exercising a day that they have reached the highest achievements of the human body, simply because if you trained more than them you wouldn't be sleeping enough to benefit.

I love how Shaolin vs Lama and Shaolin Against Lama are two different movies with totally different plots but they still boil down to Alexander Ho killing Tibetans.

The first fight with the teacher is my favourite fight in the movie.

"Are you ready?" "I'm ready!" WOO-WOO-PAW

The shaolins have been doing this for generations now. I'm sure they've got their sleep/training amounts worked out just fine.

Wow! It's almost as though there were some kind of photo trickery going on! No, it's far more realistic that these people can fly through the air than that it's just shooping.
