Sup /fit/

I'm not overweight but i am deeply unfit. I do eat a very healthy diet but i get no exercise living in a single dorm room without a patch of grass in sight and i don't want to join a gym.

What exercises can i do to improve my general fitness preferably within a confined space? Also , is cycling a good form of exercise? Any advice on cycling would be great too.

Japan has come up with a solution to your problem.

I agree with this.
I have this thing on preorder for the same reason.
I don't want to join a gym (very expensive in my area over $100/month) and it is unsafe to jog the streets at night.

Don't be silly.

Buy a pull-up bar and do this http://www.simplefit.org/bodyweight-exercises.html

OP here,

Is there a pull up bar I can buy that would not need to be screwed into the wall? I cannot put screws in my dorm room walls or doors.

There are, here's one: http://www.chinups.co.uk/index.php
I'm sure you can find more if you ask in stores that sell that kind of stuff.

Holy lol, you mean India, right?

But yeah, learn yoga and tai chi, while also doing tough guy western exercises like pull ups, free weights, and calisthenics.

Seriously. Every version I see is like that, or worse.
180lbs+ of pressure on the same two points over and over again is going to royally fuck your door.

He was referring to the WiiFit (from Japan), not just the yoga posture.

Fool.

From 7/fit/

Burpees. Don't need a lot of space, will kick your ass.

Burpees
Great for developing quickness and agility. Starting from a standing position, squat down with your hands on the ground in front of you and fling your legs backward into the lowered push-up position. (opt. 1 pushup), Return to squat, Jump back up to your feet, then leap into the air.

Repeat for as long as you can. It can even be done in your dormroom.

This is a better photo depiction of a burpee, minus the jump. You do it as fast as you can, and keep a steady rhythm. Eventually you get smooth at it.

Steve Maxwell says people fuck up burpees because they don't full squat. He isn't the only one who says it. Just a thought.

makes sense, everything is good form.
