Just really what are the benefits? I probably do about 15+ miles a week. Nothing too extreme, but I don't really know what areas of the body it targets. Also, does it matter what kind of shoes you wear? Not for comfort, for toning, or something.
It targets the anal sphincter muscles. Doesn't really what shoes you wear.
I find these help tone the lower back
>Also, does it matter what kind of shoes you wear? Not for comfort, for toning, or something.wear something comfortablebut i doubt you'll lose much fat/gain muscle from walking 15 miles per week
It's good for you but it won't keep you any fitter than you are now.
>>355924How is it good for you then?
>>355977it's better then sitting on your ass
better for fat loss per calorie than running
Start at 30min, then work up to an hour or 45min.Look for places with hills.
Walking doesn't burn much more calories than sitting at a desk tapping your foot. There really is not much benefit at all from walking. You need to get your heartrate up to achieve any real benefits.
>>355983But since you're barely burning any calories it doesn't matter.

Hiking is basically the same thing as walking, do that. It's not high impact but it'll give you a decent workout.
>>355983But much worse for calories/fat burned per mile and calories/fat burned over time.
OP here. Thanks for everyone's input.I asked about shoes because I don't own anything super comfortable, and I can't really afford good quality. Also, my butt toned up a little after walking about 20 miles in a 3 day span. So I found that kind of odd and wondering how if it's related.
