I don't understand, /fit/

At my university gym, I see some pretty big dudes. Some are downright beastly. But they're not doing anything special. Just CURLZ 4 DA GURLZ and other basic isolation exercises, bench presses, 8-10 reps, and so on. I rarely see anyone deadlifting or squatting (they usually do it wrong anyway) and I never see Olympic lifts.

So are these guys taking steroids or just naturally gifted? I was under the impression that to get really jacked you need to go outside the usual routines

Pic for amusement

It's called dedication. They probably have been working out since their freshman year in high school. I doubt they are taking roids but creatine or protein shakes are a more viable answer.

When I was in college there was a significant steroid trade, I was roommates with a user and he told me about the business and I heard him on the phone all the time negotiating prices.

I don't know if my college was just a hotbed for steroid activity but I'm sure every gym out there has a few users.

i also work out at a university gym and while there are a few juicers the huge guys have mostly just been lifting for really long periods of time

and yea most of said huge guys have pretty ungodly muscle balances from thinking about nothing but their pecs and arms

They're probably now just getting ripped, and before you came they were bulking up

ever realized these guys could have earned their stripes YEARS before you got to judge them?

sure, genetics plays a roll in things, but steroids aint going to get you to your genetic potential anytime soon w/out those heavy ass weights and full body movements.

lulz @ OP hungry for excuses and justifications to NOT squat/dead.
