Hi /fit/.

I'm in the military. Previously while I was stationed in Alaska my unit didn't do any workouts at all and I put on a good deal of weight there over the three years that I was stationed in Alaska. Now I'm stationed in Texas and work out three days a week with my unit.

I want to lose my Alaska weight and improve my run times. Three years ago I was running a mile and a half in 9:13 and now I run it in 13:00 or more. Does anyone know any routines I could begin doing in my off time to give me a dramatic boost to my run speeds?

I need to move like this guy in the picture! HALP!

OP here.

Also, I have a Heart Rate Monitor watch that I wear while running. How important is it to stay in the 75-85% zone?

Couldn't be that important, when I was FAT AS HELL, my doctor told me to stay in the 150-160 bpm range. I was always around 190.
