Sup /fit, cosmic question for ya. What causes cramps?I've consulted numerous sources: my doctor, family, medical textbooks, and various websites on health. Though they all seem to have the answer, nothing has ever solved my problem.I get terrible, excruciating cramps. Particularly when I run. Always in the same location, too: my gut. Sometimes it's the left side and others, the right. They tend to kick in a couple minutes after I have started running. The worst of them start almost immediately.I have tried an endless list of household cures and tended to several superstitions. I've not ate for varying time-frames before the workout (30 min to 2, 3, and 4 hours). I've not drank liquid before, and during the workout (separate tests). I've combined the two. I've tried spot stretching, warming up, and regulating different breathing patterns. I've rearranged and combined them all to the point where I've forgotten what I'm trying currently.I'm huge on fitness, and I hate to have to stop my workout because the pain is unbearable. It may seem like a counter-intuitive thing to do, but I don't think everyone experiences cramps on the level that I do.What do you think can be done?FYI: I workout 4 times a week. I do 10-15 min Cardio followed up by 40-45 min weight training switching between upper/lower body. I'm 125lb and have hit a plateau in terms of muscle buildup (different issue). I don't meal plan or take supplements, either.any ideas on this are welcome
