I too have an allergic reaction that looks and feels identical to acne if I eat dairy or an excessive amount of refined sugar. The stuff to stay away from for me is milk, yogurt, and large amounts of candy. Luckily this allergic reaction can also be cured with the same treatments used to treat acne.
My suggestion (I do this for my face, I suppose it would work on your back)
-2.5% benzoyl peroxide. benzoyl is my favorite acne wash. It helps slough of skin to clear your pores and has antibacterial properties. 2.5% has the same benefits as higher concentrations with less drying an irritation.)
-Witch Hazel toner Alcohol free is the way I had to go, the kind with alcohol dried my skin too much. Thayer's alcohol free with rose extract is AMAZING. You can find it at Whole Foods for $8 for a bottle that should last at least a month, very worth the money.
-Non-comedeogenic lotion Keeps your skin moisturized to keep it from getting irritated. Cetaphil is a great brand.
Do this routine every morning and evening.
If you work out, or do anything that makes you sweat, I recommend cleaning your face off with Witch Hazel then moisturizing.
