Hello, /fit/
My school has started now and I have decided to ride there by bike there instead of going there by bus. The distance to my school is about 12 kilometers. My school usually starts at 8 o'clock in the morning and I usually start biking there at 7am and arrive there at 7.50am. My school ends usually 4 o'clock in the afternoon and I am back at home about 4.50pm. The route has some parts where you need to go uphill and since the coast is near it winds heavily during Autumn so it is heavy to ride there and also slow. I am also going to gym three or four times a week and my aim is to maximize muscle hyperthrophy. So my question is, can my daily journeys to school affect my muscle building negatively and if that is the case how can I avoid it? Today was my first day and I took with me in shaker some whey protein powder for 16 grams of protein, less than 40 grams of glucose, slightly less than 50g of maltodextrose and little bit of creatine. I drank this mixture with about half a litre of water after I arrived at school, thinking about what they say everywhere about exercise starting to spend your muscles after 45 minutes or so. Is drinking the protein-carb shake necessary even though I eat something for breakfast? If this is necessary, do you think I should drink the protein-carb shake after I arrive at school or before I leave school? I was thinking about the 5 hours I need to be without food before I arrive at home too but I was thinking that I will get food immediately after returning home unlike after I arrive at school. Thanks in advance from advices! Sorry about my poor English!

tl;dr.

All I saw was "bike" and "mixture", which makes me think that you had a protein drink after biking somewhere.

Avoid muscle stunts? Lift weights. End of story. And eat more, of course. Healthy food.
