Sup /fit/.

I has a question. I occasionally exercise. However, after about an hour, my stomach and sides get pinfully itchy. Like I'm covered in fire ants. The skin is also red.

Someone said I may be allergic to my own sweat. Is this even possible?

digging up fire ant hills is not exercise, its science

Or SCIENCE, as the case may be.

I've had this problem before. It goes away if you keep exercising but more often. Your body isn't used to moving so much, or something.

The red color and itchyness is fat cells being thrown into tiny furnaces to power your muscles. Trust me, I'm a doctor.

I don't trust you. Also, "trust me, I'm a doctor" will be a /fit/ meme, I guarantee it.

You have lupus.

Damn I get this too... I clicked this and got all excited thinking someone might actually have a real answer. Fuck you guys.

Okay, i believe it.

Same thing happens to me. First activity of the day (walking around town maybe) makes my skin do that, but it quickly goes away for the rest of the day.

That's the first symptom of you being too fat. Like anon mentioned, it's your fat cells being eaten up for energy. It's a good thing, once you get fit, you'll rarely feel it.

Took me a long time before I dared to post. The rapeface monkeys scare the shit out of me. I still wake up screaming sometimes.

Anyway. Used to have a similar problem, but in my back. Irritated sweat glands or pores maybe; improve personal hygiene. If you're dry-skinned, moisturizing lotion might be an option, even if it sounds like utter faggotry. My problem passed by time though, and I never could be arsed to do anything about it. Just took the pain.

I think>>629's
problem may be different from OP's. I had similar problems when I started working out again, and I'm borderline OCD with hygiene. I think "Trust me, I'm a doctor" is actually on to something, as it was exclusively in the fattiest areas that I experienced it. I wasn't that painful, but REALLY irritating and uncomfortable.

Just work through it, it'll go away after a few weeks. Also, more weight/reps when you can handle them, etc.

Ah. Mine was the "lemon juice in a papercut"-kind of pain, so I suppose it's safe to assume it's not the same.

That's the built up negative energy in your body being destroyed by your chi as your chakras build up.
trust me, I'm a doctor

Bullshit. It's your body thetans being suckerpunched in the balls. Trust me, I'm a scientologist.

OP, your choice of picture horrifies me.

OP, try a different shirt.

I literally laughed and spat saliva all over my desk. Well done Anon.

OP, I have your same problem, I thought it was because I didn't shower... but it usually happens when I sweat, because I'm either too hot or working out... The burning fat thing is most likely true, and I feel it is. Been wondering this for a while myself.

Assuming this isn't such a severe itching that it gets REALLY painful, then it's just a symptom of long periods of inactivity + sudden exposure to exercise. It will go away when you exercise more.

Alternately, apply speedstick to your stomach and sides.
