im 6'4, 280lbs. i don’t eat sweets, and i don’t drink soda. the worst thing i will drink is iced tea (and alcohol when i party). other than that, i drink 2-3 gallons of water per day. my senior year of high school (little over 2 years ago) i weighed 200, and was pretty buff from football. after that i gained the freshman 15 (more like freshman 100), and haven’t bounced back. i started working out 3 times a day a month ago, and about 4-5 days a week so far this summer. i am also trying to cut back on snacks, and just eat meals. i know this is another ZOMG IM FAT PLZ HALP but i just need some input on whether or not im doing the right thing and to just be patient for the results, or if I should change something to help improve my health.

like i said i dont drink much shitty things, and only eat fast food 2-3 times a week. i eat a lot of meat and starch like pasta, oatmeal, shit like that. im not sure how much calories i eat per day, but i eat 3 pretty large meals per day. when i work out i shoot basketball hoops for about 30 min, lift weights, and then do a stationary bike for about 30 minutes. its a start cuz im so fucking outta shape, but im a decently athletic for my size, so i might up the anty soon. anything else you wanna know?

i can do that, it not like a choose fast food, more like my mom brings it home. its kinda tough at a university though, as junk food is pretty much everywhere. if i turn it into 3 smaller meals per day with no snacks, should i start seeing results soon enough?

Ok, basically you're not doing yourself much good right now. Whatever diet you go on, it is basically a calorie controlled diet. The basic theory of losing weight is burning more calories than you take in.

A pound of fat contains approx 3500 calories. Therefore you need to be burning 3500 calories a week more than you are taking in for your body to use that pound of fat. Doubling it to 7000 calories a week will burn 2 pounds of fat per week.

Work out your BMR using 2-3 different calculators on google, then drop your BMR by 1000, this is now your max calories per day. Get alot of vegetables, lean meats, some carbs and limit sugar.

On top of that you need to burn 500 calories a day from PLANNED exercise. stationary bike is no good as you only use your legs. Invest in a cross trainer which will use your whole body as resistance, i now use that for 1 hour a day and im around 240lb.

You can be fat & fit, so dont assume because you're fat you cant do that much work. Build up your length on cross trainer over 6 weeks and you will start seeing the weight drop off.

OP here, i did the BMR thing. says i have a BMR of 2630. if i cut that by 1000, that is 1600 calories per day. to me that seems almost an unhealthy amount to eat per day, right? that seems like basically nothing.

Damn right. 60 calories for about 1/2 platefull of carrots, brocolli sweetcorn etc.. i have a packet of the veg you steam in the microwave every night with my dinner to fill me up.

I think you can only truly lose weight when you have an epifany (in phonetics, i cant spell it). I tried dieting all the time but could never stick to it, then one day when i could only really wear one pair of trousers all the time i realised what i had done to myself. At that point i became 100% focused on losing the weight, because the ultimatum was lose weight or kill myself, theres not much point of a life when you are extremely fat.

The only thing I wanted to add was regarding your comment about party-ing. I was 19 and a lean, mean, fighting machine (literally)... then I began to drink a lot at company events (construction company). Lots of alcohol is about one of the worst things you can do.

I know the feeling. When i turned 18 (i live in UK), i'd usually go through 12-14 beers in a night out, and more through the week. I was shocked beyond belief when i saw the calories in alcoholic drinks, hence why i havent drunk in over 3 months now.

As much as a contradiction as it is, when i reach my target weight i am going to get absolutely fucking tanked up to the point of vomiting all over myself and loving it.

Not regularly ofc, just want to celebrate it big-style.

do you want to lose weight? take those 3 meals and split them into 6 meals. also make them much smaller. (300 calories each).

don't eat like a dumbshit. don't eat at a fast food place thinking you can order off the "healthy" menu. it doesn't work. go to the grocery store, and prepare your own food. carry snacks like carrots for yourself to munch on between meals. your exercise routine seems fine but wasted on yourself because you are eating like a dumb fatass.

OP here, thanks for all the imput, went to the grocery store today got a fuck ton of veggies and white fish and shit. its not that im not willing, im just not knowledgable about healthy eating, my family are fatasses too. thanks guys. also, what do you guys eat in your 300-400 kcal meals? i need some more ideas on what to prepare myself. i got some white fish, shrimp, veggies like asparagus, zucchini, corn. i also got some shit to make salads with. any other ideas? preferably some that might be quick to prepare.
