I has a problem /fit/ Anonymous
I have two major problems losing weight:

1. No matter how much I work out or do cardio I don't lose weight, in fact the only thing that seems to even touch it is the bike. I can walk/run/workout/ect for hours, but a half hour on the bike just annihilates it and I don't know why.

2. Regardless of eating 5 meals a day, or 3 squared, the only time I lose weight even with the bike is if I only have one very small meal daily. I've tried long term but when I eat normal I gain weight with or without the bike. A couple of websites have some calculations for how much you eat depending on how much you weight, but the amount of cal intake was just so high it was ridiculous.

So my question is this: What should the cal intake be of a 6'2 290ib man be. Normal estimates only make me gain even with intense exercise.

Please help.

For you /fit/ I'll do it.

Your cal intake should be a lot, lot lower than it is.

If you are exercising as you say you are (which I doubt) then you should be dropping weight. If you aren't then change up your exercises, and do some other cardio-like activity.

Or do HIIT, whichever

Your calorie intake depends on your lean muscle mass, not fat. Find out what your fat percentage is, then use calculators. If you weight 290 you probably have a lot of fat, and fat doesn't burn extra calories afaik.
