Eh. The highest occurrences of cancer for cigar and pipe smokers is throat, mouth and anything else in that general area.
That being said, what's life without a few pleasures. I smoke a cigar or pipe occasionally, accepting the risk. Churchill smoked 8-10 cigars a day and lived to be 90. U.S. Grant smoked about 50 a day, though I have no clue how, and died of throat cancer.
Yea, it may shorten your life, but so does drinking alcohol, eating beef and driving a car.
