Hey /fit/. Fitness has never been my thing, my speedy metabolism has served me well over the years, and more-or-less is to this day. As it slows, I gain weight, and also, oddly enough, I'm gaining muscle. A lot in the legs. Problem here is, I hate muscle. I want to be a skinny fuck. What are some things I can do to lose the weight I'm slowly gaining, but without gaining too much muscle, especially in the legs? My diet has improved a lot since I've noticed the changes, so that's not something I need to change. Thinking exercises.

M - 5'9" - 145 lbs.

Hey OP. I'm 5'9" - 117 lbs. Is that the weight you want, or do you want to be a little higher?

God damn, you're in a situation that 99% of the people on /fit/ would love to be in. I hate you so much.

From experience, back when i was in Cross Country (long distance running), no matter how much i ate i'd burn it all back off and more. By the end of each season, i'd be the almost-complete-lean body type that could run for hours and hours on-end.

as the others have suggested, Long-distance running. lots of it.

P.S. at 5'9" and 145, you're not too bad. Granted, i've trained to be heavy for Rugby, but i'm 5'10" and 180 and can still run a 5k in ~20min, but with a lean body you'd be able to go sub 6-min miles for that distance.

Why do you want to be in this weight range exactly?

OP again, forgot to thank you for your more in-depth explication.

I'm a /fa/ggot, I'll admit it. Though, in their world of trolls and separatism, I just prefer a slim look, and I ignore their advice. Long story short: In it for the fashion.

So.... it's fashionable to be thin? I SHOULD BECOME A MODEL!
>> Anonymous
>>261794
Well, fashion can be 'extreme', or higher fashion anyways. So it's either an extreme fat, or an extreme skinny. Guess what looks better.

np.

the hardest thing about long-distance running imo is getting to your "runner's high" euphoria. The first distance (it always seemed like the first two miles for me!) will have you feeling like keeling over and puking, laying down and dieing, blood-turned-to-battery-acid, etc, but if you can push past that and get to where your body releases those chemicals for the long-haul, you're mostly good. (Granted, it still hurts, and still sucks, but it's a LOT easier stress-wise imo)

personally i've got another season of rugby coming up, but also have a triathlon in the spring that i'm going to have to be ready for, so the muscle-type change-over will be interesting when the new year comes!
