Dear /fit/

I am a lazy piece of shit. In relation to the chart, I never make it to maintenance.
I wish I could change. Every Monday I wake up early at like 6:00 and think "This is the week I start changing my life." And I go out for a run. I workout a little afterwards, eat healthy the whole day, go to work, clean up. And then by the time Wednesday rolls around, all of it is over with. The problem is I only go until Wednesday and stop.

Help me /fit/! What keep you going? What schedules do you guys (and ladies) follow?
You guys know any running schedules or workout schedules for beginners? What should I be eating?

/fit/ is a bunch of assholes dude, if anyone does respond they'll say something stupid.

Just know that in the end it's all worth it. You'll feel a lot better, you'll be breathing better, if you want bigger muscles that'll be a plus, and so on.

Just know that it'll be worth it in the end, push yourself to do it everyday, and eventually it'll become second nature, kinda like going to work on time, except this will be more enjoyable LOL

What you need to do is find something enjoyable to do and stick with it. Consistency is the key to success. What are your typical workouts? If it's just running around like an ass for two days it's not going to help you in the long run.

check out www.stronglifts.com for the beginner strenght training program for a good starting workout. Three times a week is good. It also has topics on what to eat, correct technique, how to deal with injuries, etc. etc. Very useful site to visit.

Also, if you have trouble keeping yourself motivated, try and join a sports club. Martial art is a good start if you want to become a lot fitter fast. You'll be in a pretty good shape in 6 months if you start taking something like Karate for 3-4 workouts a week. Make sure it's something you enjoy doing, the pressure of not wanting to let down your coach/friends should be enough to keep you motivated.

Martial Arts.

Back when I was around 10 years old I was in Shotokan, sure as a kid you have more important things you're worrying about while you're doing these classes. But after 4 years of it, it left a mark of discipline, encouragement, and perfection on my character.

I think martial arts is an excellent way of getting ready to be fit.

I've been there OP. For the last 2 years I've been trying to lose weight, and only has the last 6 months been productive.

Prior to that, I don't know what it was, but I could go weeks without working out. I would slip up on my eating every couple of days. I don't know why I did it, but it always happened. It really depressed the shit out of me.

But then one day, for some reason, that all just stopped. It was that sudden. I started doing everything I told myself I was going to do: never missed a work out, never stepped outside the foods I had to eat, and I didn't.

Now the idea of 'cheating' is so alien to me. The idea of late night binging is fucking ridiculous to me now. I'm just going through the motions, because it has to be done. It's just living life now, there's no more struggle to do the shit I have to do.

Try and get to this point someday. It's fucking easy.
