My boyfriend is 5'11" and 140lbs.

No matter how much he lifts, he can't build muscle or gain weight... any suggestions?

Sounds simple but it's not, he eats like a fucking horse

I bet he's 18.
Just wait till he hits 25 and he'll gain more weight than he wants.

He's 22, his metabolism is naturally really fast

carbs, protein, make him every 3 hours, eat a lot

Feed him a steak everyday and get him to do starting strength, stronglifts or something similar.

Make him actually work out, don't let him pussy around on the weight machines, without ever repping out, and all. He should feel the pump in his arms, and his muscles should be so sore that it's hard for him to take his shirt off when he's done. You make sure that happens. Watch him. Yell at him.

Thanks for all the legitimate suggestions... I'm a member of Planet Fitness so the plan is to bring him with me when I work out... he's just frustrated with his progress because he actually puts up fences for a living, and it's all REALLY heavy lifting... but I was thinking maybe that was part of the problem, he's getting too much cardio at work

You do realize that as soon as he gets muscular, he'll leave you for somebody more attractive.

Weights don't make you gain weight. Food makes you gain weight. It's really, really, REALLY fucking simple. If he wants to gain weight in the form of muscle, he has to EAT MORE. And until he's eating AT LEAST 6000 calories a day EVERY DAY he's not "eating like a fucking horse".

1. Get him to put it in your pooper
2. Video Tape it
3. Rapidshit
4. ...
5. PROFIT!

Beat him to the punch by cheating on him with a roidhead. That'll instill the proper inferiority complex he needs to really succeed at lifting.

6000 might be a little excessive, he's not ronnie coalwood

He's not eating enough. I had the same problem. I used to eat a "lot" till I felt my stomach was full. One day I counted how many calories I was eating and I found out it wasn't enough.

I've been on a 3000 cal diet for 2 weeks now and I've gained about 4-5 pounds.

If I don't eat something every 3 hours I start to feel hungry which never happened to me before.

a friend of mine is trying to bulk up; he's 28 years old, 5'11" and 145 lbs-ish. he's always been lean, with a high metabolism. the only way he's been able to do it within the last year is with MUSCLE MASS. eat tons of protein and carbs and lift lots of weight AT LEAST 4 days a week.
you'll need a decent program, and try to lay off cardio for awhile.

feed him more sex

I'm built like that pic. Maybe a little bit thicker but still slim.

To gain weight I have to spend $100 a month on weight gainer, and eat steak multiple times a day until I want to puke. Then work out 4x a week.

I just said fuck it and wear a nice plaid jacket that hides skinniness since my shoulders are normal width. I got a CCW and got a .45 for self defense, along with a knife.

I don't have a girlfriend though, and see prostitutes so I have no incentive to look good since I can do my job fine. I install drywall. And the weps take care of self defense.
