Hello, /fit/

First time posting on this board so hi!
I have a quick question.

I was wondering if taking a multi-vitamin pill, and adding fruits and veggies to your typical diet really does make that big of an impact on yourself.

About two weeks I decided I wanted to try and eat a little healthier, so I went out and bought some fruits and veggies and vitamins, and some OJ and grape juice.
So, question is even though I eat quite a bit of unhealthy food, does this help significantly?

Significantly? No
Will it help? Yes
If you do this, get rid of ALL the unhealthy food and start exercising you will make significant gains (or losses in this situation)

You're better off eating healthy food with unhealthy than no healthy food at all. At least you won't be deficient in vitamins, but you still have way too much unhealthy fats, sugars, etc.
It won't make a difference in how you feel or the shape your in until you take out the unhealthy stuff. But, it won't take long before you prefer healthy stuff anyway, especially if you find things you actually like.

Multivitamins are pretty much useless. Can't be arsed to find links to studies.

expensive piss etc, but yeh they aren't useless.

If you eat healthy foods and cut out crap foods you will feel better in yourself, and your complexion and such will improve so you'll look healthier.

Your body more readily absorbs vitamins and such from foods (in most cases) but multivitamins are a reasonable way of cutting out any major deficits.

Sorta. The biggest issue with synthetic vitamins is that they don't absorb very well compared to vitamins found in natural foods.
