Is yoga basically a bunch of crap? I mean, what benefits do you get out of it? Same with pilates

yoga is a great workout. some of the poses really work the core muscles. Your not gonna get huge doing yoga but it definitely has its benefits.

makes you more flexable
does lightly work the muscles but enough to tone
good for women

It is a great compliment for guys who are bulking, this will loosen you up and help you regain the flexibility your losing.

Also it will focus on the tiny stabilizers that are often ignored since brute force is used first and no attention is paid to slow buildup.

Do it for 3 months, tell me how you feel about it.

My sister does yoga, i went to one of her classes once, and i honestly can't understand why she is paying 80 euros to do the warmup streches i do in my muay thai class, except i pay 35 to go there.

Maybe they have advanced classes that are difficult.

I'm a pretty flexible male- I jumped in to yoga halfway through the "intermediate" class and was able to keep up with the instructor, but the workout was still pretty brutal, and I was definitely a little shaky after class.

If you're not being challenged, just move to a more difficult class. Yoga isn't just doing the splits to Brian Eno- you won't bulk up from it, but it definitely makes you feel better. Plus, the namaste part at the end usually left me feeling more relaxed than I was coming in (and made it easier for me to run games later that evening- /tg/ says 'sup').
