Okay /fit/ I'm fat and need to lose some weight. What are some of best ways to accomplish this? I mean like as far as types of exercises, etc.

Alright Morgan Freeman I'll help you.

First of all look up John Berardi's eating principles. Follow them.

Make sure Calories in are less than calories out.

Train HIIT 3x a week. Hitting a tire with a sledgehammer is a good one. Mixed with bodyweight squats or sprinting.

It's that simple.

Makunouchi Ippo chopped wood and look how strong he got. But in all seriousness hitting a sledgehammer to a tire would work out your back tremendously and builds practical strength.

I'm the sledgehammer guy.

Please don't say 'practical' strength. All strength is practical.

It's good because it's a complete upper body movement. Try an 8lb hammer and swing it as fast as you can.

be very careful with your shoulders and back if attempting this.

I would add in a full-body (do all your muscle groups during each day) resistance training program perhaps 3 times a week at first. Once you have built up some strength and hopefully gotten your bearings more with the exercises you are choosing/weight/reps. Then you can move to a split. Perhaps upper and lower at first or directly to muscle-group splits. blahblah

Interval training is fine, but you will have a hard time doing it 3x weekly at first if you are doing it right and doing a leg workout some time in there. Perhaps 2x.

Nutrition is king. What gets recorded gets improved. (and you tend to care more about what you stuff into your gaping maw if you know you are writing it down)

Boxers are doing it. Fighters are doing it. Anyone who wants to have more upper body strenght should be doing it.

Look at these links to learn more about it:

Can I hit you in the knee caps with it? Practical as in a daily movement. I don't around squatting as I walk or lifting shit above my head like a shoulder press. I understand muscle allows greater possibilities but try to get my point.

Boxers and fighers aren't "fat and need to lose some weight". They are far from beginners. This man is.
