Alright /fit/, you got me.

I am a current fat-ass (6'2" 325lbs) seeking to remedy my situation. I've started my new lifestyle plan this morning and I hope to see some good results.

As of today, here's what going to happen:
-No soda. Nothing. Not a drop of sugary carbonated crap will touch these lips.
-Reduced portions. No more "3rd plate" for me. Single portions only.
-50 sit ups each morning and each night
-50 jumping jacks each morning and each night
-30 push ups each morning and each night
-10 minutes of ab exercise each morning and each night.
-Nightly jogs around my apartment complex.

I'm also going to the doctor to have my thyroid checked out to make sure my metabolism is still alive. I'm hoping that all these things will help me lose the 180 or so lbs I'd ideally love to lose before my ten year high school reunion (which gives me 6 years to lose the fat, and tone the muscle.)

Comment too long. Clickhereto view the full text.

Don't jump as fast as that into things. You'll just kill yourself, being a fatty and all. The key is moderation.

Since you're fat, I suggest HIIT - read up on it on the internet. It sincerely worked for me, and I wasn't even fat. Lost 22 pounds in 3 months, and I'm still losing weight even if I'm eating more heartily. Love the metabolism upgrade.

I'm almost rail-thin now. HIIT really fucking works, seriously. From 150lbs to 128 and I'm 5'8". Fucking powerful stuff.

>>159889
Hmm and here I thought I was starting slow.

>No soda. Nothing. Not a drop of sugary carbonated crap will touch these lips.
Try to exclude juices too. And buy dumbbells too. Even if they are extremely light.

128lbs what the fuck how tall are you

>From 150lbs to 128 and I'm 5'8".

Since you're already fat you should just do HIIT first before you cut. It's the bulk-and-cut method. You're already big, so all you need to do is cut, and HIIT is the way to do it.
>> Anonymous
you need to start slower, you're basically too fat to do all that stuff no offence

you're too skinny, unless you're a girl

win.

yep. at 325 you are going to have a CVA or an MI if you start from nothing.

For get HIIT until you hit 275ish.
go low carb. dont eat another refined carb. just walk, you are gonna be one sweaty bastard for the next year. . Holy shit, you are only 22? I thought you were in your 40s... good luck man.
>> Anonymous
The thin guy at 5'8" here. No, I'm not a girl. I think I overdid my HIIT, because I tried bulking up when I was home (eating a lot more, etc.) to no avail.

I have abs and pretty well-defined muscle, although they're uncut.

>>159912
CVA? MI? A little less with the abbreviations plox.

I started from 330 about three months ago, myself. Down to 280, now. Personally, I'd say that you are kinda overdoing it. As long as your metabolism isn't seriously out of whack, at 325, it doesn't take much to get started. When I started, I just went out and walked for 30-45 minutes around my neighborhood, most days.

No soda is a good thing. No fast food is another good thing. If you're really as hungry as you think you are, then you can take the time to make it yourself, and if you aren't, then that's an other step towards having a good grasp on how much you really need to eat.
>> Anonymous
How can anyone at 325lb manage to do proper pushups?
>> Anonymous
>>159943

I could do one... almost two! when I was 330.

30 is kind of no. Unless they're girl pushups.

I'm at 228lb 5'10 and i cant seem to manage 1 proper form pushup. Can manage 10 on knees aka faggot form. Im not exactly "weak" on upper body, just cant seem to manage it at all.

Sorry dude, that's weak. I'm the same weight and I can do about 20 before getting jello arms (read: I can do more but I'm too fucking lazy). And I consider myself very weak, from all empirical sources (my bench press 'n' stuff)

don't kid your self, you are weak

Shit, man, I could do more than ten back when I was over 300.

This>>159912is pretty good advice, OP. You really need to start slow and avoid doing anything drastic at the beginning.

Your short-term plans need to be sustainable, otherwise your long-term goals will remain out of reach.

My advice for the short-term is to eat well, do low-intensity cardio, and moderate work on your muscles.

Above all, BE PATIENT. Think about how many years it took you to get to 325lbs, and don't get discouraged when you look in the mirror after two months of moderate weightloss and you somehow still don't look like Brad Pitt.
>> Anonymous
>>159979

Yes op, your plan of "jumping jacks" "30 pushups" is quite fucking pathetic. Yes op, it is fucking pathetic. Go join a gym, get someone to show you the machines and get yourself a fucking program.

Just looking at your post, it reminds me of shit i used to write when i knew NOTHING about nutrition, exercise & shit like that and then failed. Except if you join a gym op, you are bound to fail.

Also go low carp... hilarium.. just hilarium, you are so going to give up on these "body weight exercises" "10 minutes of ab exercise each morning and each night!" LOL FUCKING HILARIOUS

reminds me of when i was fat

Don't excersize just before you go to bed.

Stop eating shit. Seriously. Chicken, fish, and lean meat is the only things you will eat from now. No more burgers. No more fries. No more pizzas. Ever.
If you want a snack, get an apple or a banana.

Stop taking the bus/train/car to school or work. Get a bike. Or if you live only a few blocks away, just walk/jog there.

Stop eating shit. Seriously, I can't stress this enough. The minute I stopped drinking soda and eating all sorts of fat snacky food, I lost weight like fucking crazy.
>> Anonymous
OP, in all seriousness, I'd just walk or do stationary bike until you lose a chunk of weight, jumping into HIIT at that weight might lead to injury.
>> Anonymous
>>160205
I got on of thoese stationary bikes you speak of, and I'm a fat fucker, but I don't like using it because the seat makes my ass hurt, and my balls go tingley :(

Why not exercise right before sleep? I usually work out in the evenings 9pm-11pm and then go to sleep at 12, there have never been any "ill effects" of this behaviour

Fuck you, it seriously does, I even tried sticky taping a pillow on top andit still does, after around 15+ minutes. Anyone have any idear why or how to stop it :( ??

Insomnia.

Also, you burn enough calories as it is when you sleep.

Personal experience.

Went to see my doctor about it, he told me it was because I usually excersiced an hour before going to bed. Don't really remember *why* it caused insomnia. All I know is that when I moved my workout a few hours back and I got 8 hours of sleep again.

>>160233
It's because you never ever use a bike. Get used to it. It'll lessen in time.
>> Anonymous
>>160218
Lol my mom has a computer chair that does that. It's hard as fuck. Just get up and do burpees or something for a minute - 90 secs, then get back on.
>> Anonymous
>>160214

Deal with it. I'm a fat fuck, too, and perfectly capable of using one.

>>160214

>>160233

You need to toughen your taint. The spot between your balls and your anus isn't used to the bike seat yet. IF YOU KEEP RIDING, you'll get used to it. If you give up, you'll.... well, give up.

I'm a fat fuck myself, and I do twice weekly bike rides of 10+ miles each. They don't hurt so bad anymore.

so... if you're 6'2 / 325lbs, then you probably have a very sedentary lifestyle. giving up soda and portions is great - but will be tons harder than you think.

when you're very overweight there are no pro-tips. its really simple, eat less and burn more calories. there are thousands of books, tv programs, etc. on how to lose weight. And they all point to one thing, eat less and exercise more. this will have as much or moar to do with lifestyle as it does diet. all this time you spend on 4chan - kiss most of it goodbye - you should be busy losing weight. play video games? stop that shit and get busy walking. push those things out of your life until you are happy with the shape you are in - then you can find time for them while sticking to whatever level of fitness you decide to live with.

first, see a doctor and make sure you're not diabetic yet and that your blood pressure is not high - in addition to the thyroid test.

forget jogging - set aside an hour of the day to walk. once you lose some weight you can add speed, but dont bother with jogging yet. start our with simple and stress free ways of burning calories - dont fuck up and hurt yourself.

Keep drinking juices, 100% stuff, not Tropicana and shit. I really like the V8 tropical splash which isn't THAT bad for you. Also, swimming, swimming, swimming. The truth is, if you're just starting out, keeping a strict regular routine is going to be really tough. Get excercise, but if oyu start forcing yourself to do the same thing, you're going to get worn out, use variety.
>> Anonymous
check the ingredients of food you buy for artificial sweeteners like "High Fructose Corn Syrup"

they're very common in a LOT of things and don't get broken down well by your body. look for things with natural cane sugar or honey instead.
>> Anonymous
>>160603
actually instead of "getting used to it" you can get problems with your urethra because putting all your weight on it flattens it out like a straw and it will stop bouncing back after a while.
>> Anonymous
How should a beginner HIITer train? What I mean is how long sprinting/walking.
>> Anonymous
>>160712

no, if you're >300 lbs then forget HIIT. HIIT is a nice technique for folks who maybe were in great shape and have stopped exercising for few/several months. but if you are very overweight you will probably hurt yourself trying to follow HIIT intervals.

just be patient, do some sort of aerobic exercise (walking, cycling) every day for at least an hour at a time - and watch your intake, and you will lose weight. When you weigh >300lbs you'll be surprise at how fast the weight falls off, but don't get discouraged when you plateau, just increase the effort a little.
>> Anonymous
>>160727

I'm not OP and turns out your description of a fit person who hasn't worked out in a while describes me perfectly :P
>> Anonymous
>>160733

then yes, buy a gymboss and look into HIIT. You will be amazed at how fast you lose weight. But be wary that if you've put on a lot of weight then it will be very difficult to do the high intensity intervals if your honest with yourself. I also wouldn't count on this as a long term solution.....

when I meet people in their 50's and 60's who are in great shape - they've been doing the same routine of exercises/training for decades (with adjustments to weight and intensity) - not this extreme/lazy cycle that people think we can maintain. Does HIIT work? yes, but don't count on it long term.

just play ddr
>> Weed and Exercise
PRO TIP FUCKING READ IT:

DO NOT do HIIT if you are just starting out. You WILL fucking die if your 'doing it right.' I suggest a few weeks of steady medium paced jogging to get your legs used to running.

People may try to quote me and say I'm wrong, an idiot, ect, but beleive me, you don't want to damage yourself so take the time to warm up your legs before you do HIIT. Then once you get started, it will work wonders just like everyone says.
