Compensating? Fellow Anon
Dear /fit/, I come to you for help.

The other day I was single-leg leg pressing 90 kg, and I realized on my last set that I was starting to feel my gluts and inner thigh working... Also, it seems my butt was coming off of the seat a little bit, but I was intent on finishing the set..

Now, am I compensating too much? Is this bad? How can I make it so only my quads work?

Also, what does anon think of Beta-Alanine? I was thinking of getting me some..

tl;dr, How to stop compensating when doing single-legged leg press?

leg presses doesn't work only the quadriceps. but leg extensions do.

Really? Because on the diagram of the machine it shows that only the quads are getting worked...

AWFUL. I was given a free sample of it once and I hated it. It gave me an energy boost but it made my face start to itch, then my whole body.

I've used NO-xplode (which contains beta alanine) with great results. I've been told that it's mostly a placebo affect though. I stopped taking it about two months ago, and I've kept all the bumps up in weight that I made.

Ahh, I see. My brother takes NO and and absolutely loves it.. But, I dunno, seems way risky and I'm going to avoid all the iffy supplements since I'm still young.

Compensating in general is bad, and I don't want it to cause any more injuries.. So, I dunno.. If it puts my back or my hips at risk in any way, I'll just lower the weight, but if feeling strain on gluts/thighs is fun, I'll keep at it..

And to the SQUATZ people: I'm recovering from a hip injury, and slowly bringing my squats back up to par, so I'm only at 30kg right now, which doesn't do much lol
