Exercises for the seriously weak Anonymous
Hello /fit/, I been inactive for ~8 years and now I'm trying to get back into semblance of shape, or more specifically a less depressing state strength wise.

So far I've tried sit-ups and can only do them on a somewhat soft surface which lends some spring to get up (my bed), on the floor I conk out about 1/3 of the way up. I've also tried push ups again can't do them on the floor, only off something raised about 50cm or the women's variety.

Are there any exercises you'd recommend to start out with? Preferably without using equipment or leaving the house?

Picture related as my goal is to see some movement when I flex my muscles.

I weight 165. If I do a pushup position on a scale it will read 112. So a pushup is like trying to bench 112lbs for me. YMMV. Point is you need to work up to it. Try lying on your back and lifting 40 pounds over your chest. Try reverse crunches on the floor instead of on a bed. (hold something heavy on the floor above your head while doing this. gradually lower the weight.) squats. curls with the same 40 pounds from before. jump rope. it would be easier if you left the house.
