I used to weigh 250 pounds.
With my diet, almost that same exact elliptical (my only source of cardio) and lifting weights, I now weigh 170 with some muscle. I never used a treadmill or went jogging.
If it can get your heart rate up to where you want it, don't worry about it or what most of the gymqueens here have to say about them.
That machine is effective and will get the work done.
