I need your help. I really hate lifting heavy. After I do it I always feel extremely achy and I have no motivation to do it again, but I love lifting lighter weight for about 10-15 reps. I can do it all day. It’s the best feeling in the world. The problem with this is I read that you won’t get any bigger if you do lower weight high rep.
My current lifting stats are

Max bench 280 but I usually lift 195 for 15 or 16 reps

Im not sure what my max curl is but last time I tried it was about 100. I usually do preacher curls with 50 pounds on it for 15-20 reps.

I do chin ups

I rarely squat, because I already have huge ass legs. I do burpees and no weighted squats.

I do ab work outs all the time too

Well I don't think you will stop getting bigger if you do higher reps of lower weights, but it will be alot slower than if you were to do less reps of higher weights. More reps of lower weight = compact muscles and lower reps of higher weights = ripped muslces.

Increase the weight only slightly enough so you can max out doing 8 reps for three sets. You should be pushing really hard for rep number 8, and on the last set, barely able to do 7 or 8. You will grow alot doing it that way vs 3x15 reps with light weight or even 5x5 with mega joint injury weight.

Also be a fucking man about it.

Guy in OP's pic has small pecs and mediocre triceps, that's probably why he can only bench 230. He looks like he would be able to bench more though. As to OP, if you want to get big without taking like 20 years you're going to have to go heavy. Find a weight you can do 12 reps with but only 12 reps. Then add some weight and do 10 reps, add more, 10 reps, add more and do as many as possible. This will get you more mass but will not compromise definition.

Yeah, guess what, heavy lifting causes aches and pains. I hate that too. I also hate doing it, because it's hard to use maximum power while also staying on form when you don't have machines or a spotter. So I recommend either going to a gym and using machines, or getting a spotter who can help make it less challanging. You can also cut down to like 6 exercises spread over 2 days a week and still get results. Just eat some whole grain bread or something caloric the next day to ease the pain and hunger.

as for the pic, that's a mixture of overhead lighting and 9-11% bf. he's not big AT ALL, bench max 230 is not that hard to believe, that's ~185x5. As for your workout, I'd say you're doing too many reps. If you like going high, do 8-12, not 10-15 or 15-20. You're not stimulating hypertrophy at that range, you're not 'toning,' you're not building muscle past ~12 reps. You're just getting better at doing more reps. Why do you think doing millions of pushups doesn't build an ecksbawks hyooge chest?

You can build muscle doing what you're doing, but it's like trying to learn how to surf when there's no swell; it'll take a FUCK long time.

As for your never squatting b/c you have lol hyooge legs, realize that squats is literally THE bodybuilding exercise. It induces more and faster muscle growth than any other exercise, throughout the WHOLE body. The growth hormone released by the quads after a heavy day of squats will stimulate far more growth than anything else, not to mention the protein synthesis. The quads are the powerhouses of the body, and squats don't JUST work quads, they're fucking amazing. But if you don't wanna do them, that's on you.
