1) Weight training. You wont get big muscle like most girls think so don't worry, that's a misconception. Weight training burns more calories than cardio and works muscles directly which firms more. As long as the weight isn't really heavy your muscles wont get big. 2) Eating right. That doesn't mean skipping meals or limiting what you eat but eating the right things. For nutrition, get a book. The library is free.
