Mah shoulders hurt Anonymous
I'm "double jointed" /fit/. Not there's no such thing as being actually double jointed, but nontheless my arms are very flexible. I have this ability of displacing my shoulders to where I can rotate them completely around my body while my hands are clasped.

Not many people can do this, so it was always a neat trick at parties. However, ever since I've started working out, mainly in chest and shoulder exercises, one of my shoulders sometimes decides to "collapse", immediately dropping the weight and leaving me with a throbbing pain for a few minutes. No side effects other then that, although I generally can't complete my sets when this happens. Does anyone else have experience with this or advice? I'm going to ask my doctor about it whenever I can get over there, but I'd like to see what /fit/ thinks first.

Shoulder dislocations are what that exercise is called.

Eventually yeah people get to the point where their hands can come together and go all the way around.

I don't really know how to solve the problem though. It sounds almost has if your shoulder muscles are too weak to keep them locked(or held steady), if that makes sense?
