sup /fit/,

I go for a walk for an hour every night. Does this have any significance in losing fat?

How fast do you walk, how tall are you, how much do you weigh, and are you dieting also?

Have you always exercised, or are you only starting recently?

short answer: yes it does.

I'm going to say no... jog for at least half an hour and get your heart rate up. Or do breathing exercises while you walk.

It will have an effect, but unless you combine it with dieting and steadily increase the pressure as you get fitter, it will only take you so far.

started recently
the thing is I don't feel my heart rate going up that much, there is a difference but not a great one.

The main calorie burner is the muscle movement and the way almost your whole body is used doing cardio exercise, I suggest you walk fast enough to up the heart rate enough, then walk slowly for about 5 minutes til it clears, repeat. It's what I started with, and doing that combined with a diet (not much money, it was essentially the same, terrible horrible food) and I lost enough weight for people to point it out, ofcourse I increased intensity as constantly as possible. If your serious about weight loss, a diet will help immensly.
