Honey. What's /fit/s opinion on it?

Good for you? Or just pointless sweetning sugar?
What benefits/downfalls does it have?
>> Anonymous
pointless fructose.
but i eat it with cottage cheese so the portion rounds up to 100 calories.

good: the natural stuff right from the hive has a lot of beneficial antioxidants and minerals

bad: 1. people go overboard thinking it's healthy and eat too much of it
2. it's mostly sugar
3. thus spikes insulin

It's nice because it provides a different consistency than sugar. But otherwise HEALTH WISE there is no benefit.

My housemates take "natural honey" for allergy purposes. I'm not sure why, but it was recommended by a doctor, so whatever works I guess.

Same principle as eating juniper (I think) berries, I guess. Get it in your system, and you don't suffer.
