Heya /fit/.

I'm a new with this new HIIT thing. I'm not sure if im doing it right but I was wondering if i could get some tips doing it. Ok, so when I do HIIT its usually around 3-4 PM before I have dinner is that good or bad? Also should I be taking breaks inbetween like for example, 30 Sec Brisk Walk - Sprint 30 Sec - 30 Sec Rest - 30 Sec Brisk Walk - Sprint 30 Sec - Etc. You get the idea or should I cut off the 30 second rest? I only added the rest because idk if my body could handle it being pushed so hard. And also how many days in a week should I be doing HIIT? Also is HIIT more beneficial doing it right in the mornining 30 minutes after I wake up or just doing it in the afternoon to lose weight?

well, as far as food goes, you really should eat something that's easily processed by your body right after doing it, so it IS good to eat right afterwards. You should probably only do HIIT 2x a week, though never more than 3x. As long as you don't do hit at night or before a nap, it's okay, the key with hit is that it continues to burn fat for a couple hours after you do it, so if you sleep, that kinda defeats the purpose. Morning or afternoon is just fine. Rest is okay if you REALLY need it, but you should try and push your body as hard as you possibly can because that's why HIIT is really effective. Hope this helps.

Good luck.

Ah Ok, Thanks that really cleared things up for me! And one more thing, If i do HIIT in the morning 30 minutes after I wake up, would it be safe to do lets say a 30-60 minute Steady Rate Cardio session in the after-noon? And Is doing regular cardio like jogging fine at the days im not doing HIIT?

If you do HIIT in the morning make ABSOLUTELY sure that you are properly warmed up, or you will probably end up with strained/pulled muscles. I wouldn't necessarily advise more cardio on your HIIT days, but steady rate cardio is great for your non HIIT days.

DON'T FUCKING CALL IT JOGGING. YOU ARE RUNNING, NO MATTER THE PACE. You can say you are running at a brisk jog, or something along those lines, but the act itself is called RUNNING.

Jogging is a fake term made up by faggots in the 70's.

Ah ok thanks for the advice It's really helping me out. And just wondering but isn't there a time where I should stop doing HIIT or cardio because my body gets used to it and then I should just start lifting etc..? Or that doesn't apply with HIIT?

With running, your body is always used to what it's doing (which is why you implement HIIT) but it's good for your lungs/heart/insides/etc.

With HIIT you can always change it to make it challenging, sprint longer, shorter rests, more intervals, etc.

Hah fine. And>>200977Do I screw up my HIIT routine if I add like a 30 second Rest into it?

no, just try and eliminate it as soon as your body is ready for the challenge, the key to HIIT is feeling like you are going to puke pass out, that's how you know its working. you really have to bust your ass
