Whats so great about weight watchers? Suddenly everyone on my office is following that diet. Seems pretty weird to me. These people are only talking about their points or whatever but seem to have never heard about proteins, fibers, good fats, etc, have no clue what BMR and BMI means.
They'll just have anything as long as its points are low (I'm guessing those are based on calories) and not worry about anything else. Like there's this one guy who still downs 2 litres of diet coke every night but never touches water for example. I really have my doubts with that.

Kinesiologist here.

They've basically taken weight loss and turned it into a real life MMORPG in my opinion. Nothing special about the diets themselves, but the marketing strategy is pure win.

In theory it's just the correct diet that most of /fit/ (presumably) follows, but made simpler and easier for the laziest of fucks to follow without doing all the (easy) calculations and measuring. I think it'd work perfectly well if the people who followed the program actually followed it, but someone who downs 2 litres of diet coke nightly is probably just in weight watchers to feel better about himself and isn't actually interested in self change.
