Hey /fit/,

This may seem like an obscure question, but any helpful answer would be appreciated.

I have a very average male body. I would like to tone up my chest, stomach and arms. I do not, repeat, not want to get a muscle man figure. I just want slightly bigger arms, and a toned body.

Now, which activities can I do to achieve this? I currently go running every other day, trying to increase my stamina. And, shame to say, I can't swim...but I've booked for a set of ten swimming lessons in October which is 'guaranteed to get me swimming - ex-Olympic swimming instructor!'

So yeah. Anything else I can do, short of joining a gym?

Gah i am tired of all these ppl that believe the slightest lift of a weight will get them huge. If you want nice definition, you have to go to the gym since you want to gain mass. There will be no "toning" if you have no muscles at all.

You have to burn the fat before you build the muscle up.

So Just CV stuff... weights to work on arms and legs if you particularly need to, otherwise things will just fall into place

There is no difference between "toning" and "bulking". JUST LIFT THE WEIGHT, EAT, AND SLEEP. RINSE, REPEAT.
