I'd say for you to squat for way more reasons than quadricep bulking... To be honest, working out for aesthetics alone is never great, but if it's what you really want....
Leg press. Do 5-8 Reps , using weight that only allows for one more rep to be done before you go to failure. Ex: You choose 6 reps. Use enough weight so that you're only able to do 7, not 8.
Do 3-4 sets of those, monday, wednesday, and friday. Rest 2-5 minutes in between. Eat for hypertrophy: After every workout, eat high GI carbs (starch/sugar) and protein. Protein bars I guess are okay for this, but understand why: At this point, your muscles are sensitive. By consuming high glycemic index carbs, you speed up blood flow and pressure. Having it with protein allows the protein to get to the weakened muscles faster, and start rebuilding (to achieve bigger muscles [hypertrophy])
Don't forget to stretch each quad (hurdle stretch style) for 2 minutes apiece at least after working out, too. Helps prevent soreness and promotes blood flow Stick to this for like 2 months and keep us updated on how it goes.
