Generally body weights are deemed detrimental to training. Ignoring the fact that it throws off your natural balance and coordination and possibly cause damage to the distal joints, we find that the weights dont really provide much of a challenge due to the facts that you will simply perform the activity slower and adapt fairly quickly to it. Also, while weight vests are quite useful when it comes to things like bodyweight training they are useless for doing much else, due to the fact you arent in control of the weight when in motion. As mentioned before the same effect can be gotten from a backpack of bricks, at a fraction of the cost.
