hey fatties from /fit/, why after a whole life of abusing your body, eating crap and not exercising at all, you suddenly want to become skinny ripped guys?
were you stuffing your face with a burger when you realized you were a pig or what?

I've been lifting weights since high school and I'm 24 now. Only recently have I been paying more attention to my diet. I'm also taking exercise more seriously. Instead of 2 hours/week I'm up to 6 hours/week.

After a season of football and basketball in 8th grade I felt stronger and my heart wasn't pulsing so hard that it felt like my body was providing bass for techno music and eardrums were going to burst after I ran for a little bit. I liked it and wanted more, so I guess I wanted to keep leveling up. Being ripped was a superficial bonus.

My family's always been insanely healthy and fit. My mom does marathons and triathalons, my dad bikes a lot, and my little brother plays hockey and lifts weight prettymuch every day. We never ate any fast food growing up or drank any soda. I wasn't really all that unhealthy (at my fattest, I was 5'5" and 120 lbs with most of it being fat instead of muscle), but my family would tease me for it anyway, so around the time that I was 18, I started to eat less and exercise more. /fit/ came around about 6 months after that and I figured it would be a good way to keep me on track and learn knew things about fitness.

I was never a fatty, but here are the reasons I wanted to actually get ripped.

Mainly girls.

Some other superficial reasons were to look better in clothes, you know, fill out a t-shirt in a good way.

I also just like being in the gym. Working out is fun when you get into it.
