sup /fit/

my knees used to be crunchy as hell, and i started squats just ignoring the noise.

this was like 4 months ago. i had pain in both knees (worse in left), now i just have pain in my left knee. it gets worse in the mornings but is almost non existant during the day - it used to be bad all around the clock. there's no swelling at all, and it's only when i do deep knee bends. its sore to touch just above the knee. the pain is just in front of the knee. any ideas what i should do? i've tried not doing squats (just over 2 weeks now) and it's still not fix'd.

Please stop doing this. This is why full squats don't have a good name in mainstream fitness.

Doing squats improperly and being injured as a result, whether your form is off or you just haven't warmed up. It makes people think that full squats are actually bad for you.

do yo ustretch?

well there you go.
stretches.... warm-up...stretches...

your hamstrings have probably gained flexibility, MAKE SURE YOUR FORM IS SPOT-ON.

look out for the "butt wink" in which the lower back drops a little. if you notice this, stretch until the problem goes away but until then don't squat past the "butt wink" point as it can cause problems for your back. i am working on this myself and have seen significant improvement in two weeks. the buttwink is almost gone.
