I did isotriten (generic of accutane) for 6 months. It made my complexion a lot worse for the first month, but worked wonders after that, completely cleared me up really. Sadly my skin broke out a few months after I stopped so I had to go on it again, nearly double the dosage. I could only finish a little more than 4 months this time due to the dry skin. I would literally only take a shower every couple of days without using soap, then use cetaphil lotion (a MUST HAVE for accutane users), then using prescription lotions. But I would still get bad patches of eczema. Either way, my skin still looks good. It's been 6 or 7 months since I stopped my second course and I'm fighting of the few pimples I'm getting with acne face wash.
tl;dr It is very very worth it.
BTW, I would highly recommend you order Dr. Dan's Cortibalm online. Chapped lips are very hard to get rid of with normal lip balm while you're on accutane. This stuff helped even during my second course with ONGWTF dosages.
