It was a Tuesday. The weather was humid. The sky was cloudy. I was hungry. I decided to go to McDonalds. I walked. I ordered a Big Mac. The service was excellent. The burger was picturesque. The cheese was melting. The lettuce was crisp. The beef patty was juicy. I ate the burger. It started raining. I got a lift home.

I save it for the weekends and get shitfaced and hog out. Can be anywhere from 1k over to double my daily intake.

I'm in maintenance mode though mostly, so I don't mind spending the next few days burning it off. I just do my regular schedule:

I lost close to 50 pounds over last summer and at the end of summer I went on vacation and spent every single waking hour of a week drinking. Every single food item I ate that week was ridiculous. Taco bell, long john silvers, gyro's, funnel cakes, corn dogs, chili dogs, unspeakable amounts of yuengling, WHITE RUSSIANS (mmm 300 calories per 8 0z), soda of all varieties, and did not do even one physical activity the whole week. Just spent the whole time drinking, sleeping, and eating (also not fucking) I gained 10 pounds

Last night I ate half a pale of Breyer's special Girl Scout Samoans Ice Cream whilst watching There Will Be Blood and trying to stay awake and avoid raping the girl I was with. The ice cream helped keep my mind somewhat on the movie and somewhat out of her pants.

Later that night I did HIIT extra hard to punish myself.

I don't binge because I have discipline (aka an eating disorder).

I am an alcoholic, though. I've found a niche drink in mixing Smirnoff with diet Pepsi or sugar free Hawaiian Punch. Ends up only having about 70 calories, give or take on how much vodka you use (basically a one ounce shot is 70 calories and I mix 1-2 ounces for a drink).

When I do actually binge, I purge within 10 minutes. I can actually say this shit anonymously online and not feel bad about it. Last time was back in December 07 and I was drinking alone while playing TF2 with a bunch of anons. I hadn't eaten all day and the six or so drinks I had in me was causing my stomach to completely sloshy, so I wanted to fill it with something, which ended up being 4 full fat hot dogs (16g of fat EACH), like 3 cupcakes, a bowl of cinnamon toast crunch, a turkey sandwich with ketchup and cheese, a TV dinner of egg noodles with beef and gravy, and like half a bag of frozen french fries deep fried in a pot of vegetable oil on the stove.

It wasn't like I prepared it all at once and just sat down to eat it, it was more like my eyes were bigger than my stomach, cause I'd start making the next "meal" before I was even half finished with what I was already eating. Just sort of spiraled out of control. I puked up most of the shit while the fries were cooking, went back to eat those, puked those up again, and went back to drinking mixed drinks.

you know even with that binge, considering you didnt eat anything the whole day, thats probably still under 2000 calories, albeit high in fat and preservatives and a giant binge like that for your only food intake is terrible for the metabolism

but at least it isnt as bad as those people i see on tv sometimes who spend like 250 dollars on their binges (these are the people who weigh like 800 pounds lol). saw this one huge black guy who ordered in from like 5 different restaurants all in the same night and it ended up costing him over 300 dollars and he ate every bit and said he was still hungry

The day was 4/20, 2008. I had just taken three hits off a bong and was ready to go for the day, so I went to Safeway and bought three steaks. I pan roasted them medium-rare, diced them up, and put it into a hollowed out baguette and ate.

Must have been a good 1500 calories right there, but I ate the entire thing.

Your body eventually gets used to any routine, including eating habits. Changing that routine once in a while (like once a week) helps prevent that.

Starvation mode does not occur until the body has only vital tissue left to consume. Most of /fit/ has no idea what they're saying when they throw this term around, including you.

You guys are referring to minor changes in metabolism, which stabilize in a few days if you keep on a very calorie deficient diet. Starvation mode means your body is almost, if not completely, out of fat reserves and muscle tissue to run off of, so it will start consuming your organs...that's how you starve to death. An average human can go between 50 to 75 days with ZERO food what so ever. A heavier human will go longer.

If you eat, say, 1000 calories or less per day for months on end, your body doesn't immediately start packing on massive weight as you increase calories, it only does this if you binge. Yes, you will see a lot of weight gain if you were some 85 pound anorexic who just ate a double quarter pounder meal and half a pizza after months of fasting, but that's a fucking extreme situation.

I'd really like it if this board got their facts straight before throwing around shit like common colloquialisms .

I'd also like to add that if you are too ignorant to know about it, go look up water and fresh juice fasts. Tons of people do them and they are a proven way to lose fat and detoxify the body. They're common in the more developed parts of South America, Europe and Asia. And when you go off the fast, you don't gain weight back because you go through a week or adjusting in which you very carefully and slowly increase your wholesome calorie intake via mostly fresh produce.

/Fit/ would call this "starvation", but /fit/ is made up of a bunch of uneducated 16 year old wannabe jocks who are actually just complete social outcasts.

Not unless you do it for a very, very long time. Your body will utilize the fresh calories and then continue to utilize fat stores for energy. Initially, any such deficiency in calories is met by sleepiness because your body is adjusting, but it's part of stabilization to a new diet.

Your body only says "OMFG MUST INSTANTLY CONVERT EVERYTHING TO FAT" when you are OUT of fat. It's a defense mechanism. We've always needed fat stores to survive, considering humans have been completely nomadic for the majority of their existence and sometimes DID have to go months eating only shitty vegetation or nothing at all. That's WHY life forms store fat. The body starts making a lot of fat out of food when you run dangerously low on it.

This is all basic biology, seriously.

Great observation there, shitdick. Although you failed to take into account that a water fast GREATLY accelerates detoxification while working with your liver. Furthermore, your liver does not clean out the 4-8 pounds of bacteria infested SHIT that every human has in the colon, but water fasting helps to detoxify this and it is common to have a colon cleanse at the end of the fast. The overall point of a water fast is to speed up your entire excretory system.

I've been on a binge constantly for the last month or two. I was so healthy until I went on a cruise during spring break, and during that the multitudes of unhealthy foods killed my determination. I ate a lot, and after I got back I continued to eat a lot. I was 5'5" and 115 lbs before. Now I'm probably more like 120 lbs. I'll get back on track sometime this summer. 5 lbs. isn't all that hard to lose anyway.
