Hey there /fit/.
So I'm an 18 yr. old female, 5' 4", 164 lb. I've been committed to eating healthy and going to the gym regularly for a couple of months now and I've lost about 15 pounds. There's a noticable difference which is great, but running at the gym only seems to have turned my already large thighs (my main focus) into muscle.. Any suggestions on how to slim down and not bulk up with my workout?
Ay help would be appreciated.

Trust me, dudes don't mind a pair of muscular thighs.

wrap them around my head and there will be no problem with your thighs.

Try running slower and for long distances. That way the muscles won't grow and you'll still slim down. And I know /fit/, somebody will probably scream 'HIIT', but for this particular application, long and slow aerobics is better.

Thanks, I'll try this.. I usually "run" on an elyptical, should I be running on a treadmill instead, or is there not much of a difference?

They target slightly different muscle groups. Running is a more natural movement, but ellipticals place zero stress on the joints, so there is a trade off. If you have a choice, I'd do both. Hell, if you're in a gym, try and use all of their cardio equipment.

i'm not basing this on anything at all, but wouldn't swimming be awesome cardio that doesn't build too much muscle, and if it did it wouldn't all be in your legs?

man, i was at the gym this morning and there was a totally gorgeous curvy gal working out - hot big ass, sweet tits, no gross love handles and not too massive thighs.

i hope she doesn't end up burning all those great curves away.

running won't make your legs bulky.

that being said, there's nothing wrong with thick muscular legs, and a lot wrong with thick fat legs.
