When I measure my waist I get a little over 32 inches (I'm 5'8 and 143), but all my jeans that I wear are size 30x30 and they sag a little bit.

Stores mark sizes down so you will try something on and think "Huh, I never wear a size this small! I'm totally buying these!"

Oddly enough, waist size 30 issue trousers from 1938 fit me loose. I am normally a 32 waist. It's like sizes were all large, then they went true in the 60's, then they got large again in the 90's.

they don't want you to feel like a giant fat ass so they mark the sizes down even if you are a 32 waist, the basically want you to buy as muck as possible mostly because they are douches
