Sleep Deprivation? Anonymous
Sup /fit/,
for the past couple of weeks I have been getting 3-4.5 hours of sleep on weekdays and up to 7 hours of sleep on weekends. This is due to me not changing my late-night lifestyle to fit my a new, more physical job. My question is how bad is this for my general health, and what effects (if any) should I be expecting? I'm a fairly healthy 19 year-old male and have been on this sleeping schedule for 3 weeks, but I have yet to feel any different.

Your body wont recover fast enough from all those SQUATZ. That is all, also enjoy your decreased lifespan.

what happens if you sleep at 4am, but wake up at like 12 or 1pm. is that still going to ruin your health? it is still 8 hrs of sleep =/

I have at least nine AIDS, so I'm not too worried about lifespan. It's my life within the next year that I'm worried about!

Unless you live in a crypt, your sleep quality will be diminished because melatonin is necessary for deep sleep, and is mostly released in low light levels.

To improve the quality of your sleep, either go to bed earlier, or simulate late night; close windows, shut blinds, and sleep with a blindfold/sleep mask.

I've been using a blindfold for a couple of months, and I get a lot more 'zest' out of sleeping than when I woke up with light streaming into my room.

As long as you increase your Fibre intake 200% there should be no adverse effects
