How do you balance heavy lifting and cardio?I've always been told that with cardio you can (and should) do it much more frequently than lifting, but my lifting really hinders my ability to do my cardio workout. After my leg workout, I just can't do my typical cardio ( I run and swim) like I would normally. I can only perform at like 75% of my normal capacity and I really don't feel like it helps my growth. How do you all deal with it? Is it just something my body will grow accustomed to? Pic totally unrelated.
don't do cardio on leg days. perform cardio 3-5 times a week. 30-45 mins if you do it before lifting and 15-20 mins if you do it after, so you won't start burning muscle for fuel.
Do a cardio that complements the soreness you feel. Sore legs would go with swinging a sledgehammer at a tire, and sore arms would go with running or sled-work. A sore back would go well with swimming.
