3 Months to Gain Anonymous
/fit/

I am 5'11" 142lb @ ~12% BF, and have been working out for 2 years, but only seriously for about 4 months.

I am about to join a gym in 2 weeks, before I transfer to another university (as to now, I have been working out at home, since I go to college near my home and am able to live at home).

My question is: How much mass can I feasible gain between the end of May and the end of August still maintaining a low BF% (9-11)?

Pic is of me if it helps at all (sorry for the shit quality).

Anyone? (bump)

Not much, especially if you don't want to to lose your BF%.

As you may know, even the most efficient bulking adds body fat, which is later worked off.

That said, you can look up the Anabolic diet. According to its champions, it allows you to add mass while losing fat.

Well, in order to properly and healthily add along mass my friend, you're going to gain a little extra poundage along the waist. See, protein is what makes up your muscular fibers. They are building blocks. You need workers (carbohydrates and fats) to build the building using these blocks. Unless you are EXTREMELY strict with caloric counting, you will add some stored fat to your mass. It's normal if you want to get bigger, just shed the fat whenever you feel that you have gained too much.

Though, there are diets such as the ketogenic bulk that "supposedly" allow you to add mass while stripping bodyfat. With that being said, you could look into it, but truly, I feel that it is not the most healthiest thing you can be doing to your body.

I am extremely strict about both my diet and my caloric intake, so that will not be a problem.

What I am asking though is how much mass I can gain within those 3 months?

1.5 pounds a week is pretty realistic and by no means a stretch. So 18-20 pounds, give or take.

How intense would my splits have to be? Would I have to take a lot of rest days?

I would say 3-4 intense days a week, followed by 3-4 days cardio/rest.

how did you manage your state (you seem big for your weight/height, too) without a gym?

I seem big? I consider myself relatively small.

I use a lot of free weights, and do compound lifts; and eat healthy as fuck, and take in 150g of protein a day.
