Cirrhosis? Anonymous
Hey /fit/. I'm a fat (5'7" and at least 230 lb), lazy twentysomething guy who feels awful. I think a lot of it might have to do with other stresses, but on top of it all, I think my liver might be fucked up. Bile that won't quit, and stiffness and pain on the right side of my torso are the two big ones. I spent a few years of my life not long ago doing nothing but drinking shitty beer and smoking cheap cigs, so I think I might have scarred it/gotten some cirrhosis. I also eat poorly, a lot of fast food, and erratically: I'll eat too little for a few days, then feast.

Other than the obvious (eat better, exercise, destress), what can I do more specifically about my liver?

Hmm, I eat nothing but vegetables and meat, drink nothing but water, rarely get drunk, and my liver feels great.

sux2beU, OP

seriously, see a fucking doctor.

Liver problems are serious fucking business, right up there with heart stuff, and moreso than most brain problems.

Seriously, if you don't see a doctor right the fuck now you are basically saying you want to die a fucking horrible death as your body floods with toxins it just can't get rid of.

umm, no. cirrhosis is by definition irreversible. steatosis, which can eventually lead to cirrhosis, is reversible, but once you go from fatty change to fibrous scarring, damage already done is there for good.
