Broken fibula Anonymous
Hi /fit/
I recently broke my fibula skateboarding, about 2 weeks ago now. After a week in an open cast (no front to allow for swelling) I got told I'd need surgery. I had surgery and had a metal plate put in and was released from hospital last sunday. Now yesterday and today I have accidentally stepped on my cast. It hurt a bit but not loads, but ever since I have noticed a strange feeling when I move the leg in certain ways. What are the chances its broken again and I'm not feeling any pain?
Or could the metal plate of shifted?
It feels like a shifting pain, and at first I put it down to the cast but anxiety has got the best of me and I'm freaking out.

Get it checked, better safe then sorry

If that xray is of your injury, it's a Weber Type B fracture and they're usually quite stable.

The plate would be to ensure anatomical repositioning during the healing process, but the plate doesn't weight-bear, the tibia will do most of that.

So, you may feel some twisting, but don't be an idiot and test it to its limits until about 4-6 weeks after repositioning to allow early callus formation.

Indeed. But remember, you're now 0.03% cyborg. You need time to adjust to your bionic implants.
