if a person pursues X seriously, some traits will change as part of the nature of X (not at all linked to genetics, except in how quickly (if at all) the changes come about)
all genetics do is put a wall on growth in a given area, having genes that support X doesn't mean side-affects of X will come about.
swimmers get the way they do because it is most efficient for swimming, they lift weights (thus accounting for the somewhat large size of their muscles), but avoid an extremely low BF%... their shoulders typically appear broad because their deltoids get a lot of use
