I'm having a bit of trouble here. I was suggested to do bodyweight squats as part of a workout, but I honestly think I'm doing it wrong.I'll stand straight up with my arms out at shoulder length and my legs just out a little more than my hips are, keeping my back straight I'll slowly try to squat down, but I can barely bend my legs AT ALL before my heel lifts off the floor./fit/, how the heck do you do a proper bodyweight squat?
Also, pic isn't me.
Become more flexible!
>>57000And how would I go about doing that? :\

>>57006Sorry if I'm a little stupid, but would doing it that way accomplish the same thing the other squat I was trying to do? :/Like I said I'm only doing these as part of a workout. xx;
>>57009Almost the same.
>>56998Cut off your feet.
OP, keep your back straight. Make sure your head is up, and your butt sticks out a little when you do it. This is a squat, not a bend-over-at-the-knees.
get a chair and sit on itget a lower chair/box/whatever and sit on itrepeat until you're using a chair/box so low that your hips are lower than your knees when you're sitting on itnow try the same move without the box
>>57026This helps, I can do it a little better now, thanks. ^^;Gonna go practice, figure if I do it enough it'll become second nature and I won't have any trouble with it anymore.
bodyweight squats are lamejust do lunges if you don't have a squat rack
>>57042No you!
You need to increase ankle mobility. Stretch calves.
