Exercises that don't involve legs Anonymous
Hello /fit/,

I'm in a rather shitty situation. 16 months ago, I developed nerve damage in my left leg. The cause is still unknown and the battery of tests continues, however, I'm really tired of not being able to do my old routine of exercises.

I exercise for tone, not for bulk. I'm 5"9 and weigh 140lbs (before the leg, 145 with a very defined upper and lower body)

Does /fit/ know any exercises I can do, specifically for strength/tone that do NOT involve the use of my leg, but also provide an intense cardio/toning workout?

Any suggestions would be great.

Pic semi-related. The type of body I had.

Amputate the left leg, then you'll have a legit excuse to skip squats. Until then I call BS

I'll get on that, thanks.

If I had my 3 MRI's, and 2 EMG's I would happily post them on here. But I don't have my medical records. Just a lot of tramadol.

lolwut? Missing a leg is not an excuse for skipping squatz

How about swimming? Given your leg problems you could use a float belt to help keep things buoyant without the help of your one leg.

I had been swimming, but had been just trying to use my leg less. I suppose I could tie my legs to the float boat and just butterfly, freestyle and backstroke with my upper body, and then do some floor exercises to help at home...

I'll give that a shot. Anyone else got any ideas in case it doesn't work out well?

Some gyms have a machine that's sort of like a stationary bike, but you use your arms instead of your legs.

Exercise for tone? You stupid faggot, you're not going to get any advice out of us.

Arm ergometer. Great workout, I've never seen anyone on it who didn't look like a giant doof though.

Sorry Trevor, I'm a /b/ oldfag, and have never entered the realm of /fit/ until today. I didn't know you guys were about bulk.

That's my bad man.

Except that he already got reasonable advice.

Looking like a doof is justified when you're injured.

I'll happily look like a doof if it means I can start sweating my ass off again. That, combined with the swimming, floor exercises and my resistance band training should do the work.

Sadly I can't even do pull-ups at this point, because of the pressure that a dangling leg puts on the damaged nerve.

The one and only benefit is a constant buzz from the pain meds.

OP, although you used the word 'tone,' which is akin to me visualizing niggers gang raping my mom and sister in my bed, i will give you this.

YOU ARE THE ONLY PERSON WHO I HAVE EVER SEEN BE VALIDATED FOR NOT WORKING LOWER BODY. that said. train like a paraolympian.

shit loads of chins (all flavours), dips, bw rows, then some seated DB stuff...etc etc

/fit/ isn't about bulk,

But to bulk up significantly takes huge amounts of work and a lot of dedication, it doesn't just happen because you start doing curlz.

Thus when retarded faggots say "I don't want to get big muscles" as though they actually would with no concious effort, it does annoy people...

without a leg you are fucked. just do chins, rows, military presses and bench a lot and hope you have a naturally high testosterone level, which you probably dont or you'd be bigger.
