Oatmeal late as a late night snack - yes or no? Assume I'm on a high-protein, low-carb diet and doing cardio/weights blah blah like everyone else here ....

Oatmeal is good at any time of the day

That whole 'DONT EAT LATE' bullshit myth is annoying.

You can eat a doughnut at night and in the morning; shit will still suck equally.

Anyways, oatmeal is tasty any time of the day.

p.s. Fuck low carbs; that shit is annoying and nonsense. People who think eating no carbs is a great way to live need to lrn2physiology

Hey, OP here, yeah I agree - by "low carb" I just meant sensible, good carbs in the proper ratio to the rest of my diet. I'm off to eat some oatmeal ... yum.

I go with cottage cheese since it's slow-digesting, and it's got its own fair amount of carbs as well.

Some people don't like the texture at all, but I tend to like sonce I mix with my protein and a couple bags of splenda.

I mix it vigorously and I end up with a pudding :) .

Lol at faggot who believes everything his told. I make a post saying that if you drink a gallon of milk at night will give you a good build you would probably do it.

No.. Having a bunch of energy calories and nothing to use them on is bad.. 2x so if they're very simple, You'll need them to burn off during the beginning of the day and to halt cortisol production after workouts.

Eating bad any time of the day is bad. Chugging a gallon of milk any time would be bad 'cause you'd have some terrible milk shits.

But some people think ANYTHING you eat before bed becomes fat which is total bullshit.

Well of course not but you should limit your carbs the closer you get to bed.. allow yourself more carbs if you're feeling tired, stressed, or have unusual injuries.

Otherwise stick to fat and protein around bedtime. Not exactly a 'myth' maybe just lost in translation somewhere. We have a lot of cocky kids on here.

What they mean is eating a full meal or a greasy snack before bed.

Why? Because when you're sleeping, your body can't burn those calories up quick enough. You gain weight by constantly doing this.

Of course, that's assuming you don't work to burn those off the next day.

There is no "myth" surrounding this idea, just pure misconceptions.
