Konichiwa, Askmen.com suggests the shoe in my pic for wearing during weightlifting.

Stronglifts says Chuck Taylor's will suffice, but Chuck's don't provide ankle support. Askmen.com suggests ankle support.

Is it even necesarry for me to buy a new pair of shoes for weightlifting? I squat 180 with my Saucony running shoes.

Nope.

Barefoot/socks [if youre on nonskid surface]

or vans/chucks.

no need for crazy ankle support shoes. If you squat correctly, power or oly style, you won't snap your ankle unless you foot slips something crazy.

I personally go with socks or vans.

haha i don't know if i'd be allowed to wear socks only in the gym i frequent.
will Vans/Chucks help me lift better in a noticeable way?

not sure if you're trolling but no.

Shoes won't really help, but it will make you more stable and safer when lifting.

A flat soled shoe that is also low cut [vans/chucks) will get your foot closer to the ground and prevent you from rolling your ankle, giving you the ability to 'push the floor' more comfortably during your squatzin.

Plus hardly anyone in a gym wears those shits. Most big guys go shoeless or chucks.

Maybe olympians and pros, but you'll be cool in chucks.
