Yes I realize this was posted in a random thread, that was an accident, please respond to this one.

hello,

i'm not sure if this is the proper place to post this, but i can't seem to think of anywhere else to ask. i don't exactly have awful acne, but my nose, chin and forehead can get some irritating red pimples pretty often, and not the kind that go away easily. i used to use proactiv solution, but i stopped getting it in the mail. i've been using regular walgreens/department store face wash since then, and it seems to be much less effective. i was considering ordering another proactiv package, but i thought i'd ask you first. for reference, i'm 17 years old.

tl;dr what kind of acne medication do you use, and are there any other steps you take to prevent acne?

You're not going to get banned, but adding an extra year to your age will save a bunch of time for you, because you won't be getting a thread full of insults and sage because you're not old enough to be here.

Twice a day I use Clearasil gel wash, then 50/50 apple cider vinegar/water on a cotton ball (don't rinse it off), then Clean & Clear moisturizer. It works pretty well, the diluted ACV did wonders for the amount of excess oil I had on my skin. It smells bad, but the smell goes away after it dries. I still get the occasional pimple, but it's never nearly as bad as I used to get.

I used to use Proactiv and it didn't work for me. It depends on your skin though, it works miracles on some people. Whenever you start using a new kind of acne medication, always stick with it for 3 months before deciding whether to switch it or not. Sometimes the new stuff works better, but your skin needs to adjust to it before it will start to work at its full power.

This might work for you:

-stop eating greasy foods.
-take showers everyday.
-wash your hands often.
-wash your face if you feel a bit oily.
-squeeze your blackheads out to prevent breakouts
-use Clean and Clear Deep Clean Cream Cleanser every morning/shower
-change your sheets and pillowcover every week
-use a diff (clean) towel every other day.
-sunblock or lotion on face if you're sensitive or go out alot.
-wear a hat?
-carry tissues or facewipes in your backpack if you're at school.
-no drugs
-drink lots of water.

thats how I got my face to clear up. btw, my parents dont have acne, but i have some for some reason. thats why I highly recommend not eating as much greasy/sweet/spicy/hot foods.

good luck and gg

this is all bullshit
accutane and benzoyl peroxide are the only real solutions to persistent acne

Partially true.

When I went on vacation, I ate nothing but fresh foods and drank only water. My acne severely cleared up.

However, when I came back, my acne came back.

Accutane does help a lot but it can't save you if you have a shitty diet.

WRONG

op rub your cum into your face, the sperm contain a protein that is the best medicine for acne.

Normal foaming gentle facewash and face lotion after.

Benzoyl Peroxide on spot treatment, and salicylic acid for black heads, then lotion after.

Not that hard.

Benzoyl Peroxide can be a real pain in the ass though, I've was on accutane for almost a year continously and the only major side effects I had were chapped lips, some days dry eyes and minor other things. Benzoyl Peroxide however, you need to test if you're allergic to it - I apparently am and I didn't realize it until I had been on it for 2 months, really poor red and swollen skin every single day, I got told that it was ordinary and it would eventually settle down, it didn't. So make sure you're not allergic to it first.
