Should I do HIIT tomorrow morning? I've never done it before. I'm not trying to lose weight I'm trying to put it on.

(My understanding of HIIT is sprint 30s jog 30s for 10 min)

Sprinting means balls to the wall, not going out for a nice jog. If you really ran as fast as you possibly could, you wouldn't last more than 4 intervals your first time. Conditioned athletes would have a hard time running 10 intervals.

HIIT is a form of cardio. It's just more efficient at ripping fat off your body than steady-state cardio.
