Hi /fit/

I've heard that muscle builds on top of fat. So according to that, I should do alot of cardio to begin with to lose weight, then start lifting to build it back up? I was thinking about doing cardio and light weight lifting, just to keep myself a little toned while im losing the weight.

Any thoughts?

wtf are you talking about? Muscle builds on top of fat?

Fat and muscle are completely unrelated.

Do cardio to lose your fat, and do lifting 3 times a week to start building muscle. Tone muscle burns calories even while your sleeping, so lifting can only help.

YES THAT MAKES TONS OF SENSE. BETTER GO OUT AND PUT ON 100 POUNDS OF FAT SO YOU'LL HAVE LOTS OF ROOM FOR YOUR MUSCLE TO GROW.

I don't know where you've been hearing your fitness advice but you ought to be kicked in the balls for such ignorance.

The reason body-builders do bulk and cut instead of cut and bulk is because it's easier to gain muscle mass then shed the extra fat than to lose a lot of fat and try to gain back muscle
