Two workout questions for you guys (please forgive my nubness if these things get asked all the time here):

1) Is it true that you can work your abs every day, or should I take a day off between workouts like I do with other muscles?

2) Is it important to do both a regular bench press and an inclined bench press for pecs?

3) I guess that's enough for now..

1. Take a day off in between workouts so the muscle has time to build and grow

2.You should do regular and incline press to develop the middle and upper pecs

A related question, I guess, is how often should I do strength training? Every other day (3-4 times/week) or 2-3 times/week. Like I've never known how long I should let my muscles recover. Can I work out if I'm still a bit sore?

Normally I do a split like this:

Monday/Thursday- Chest and Back
Tuesday/Friday-Legs
Wednesday/Saturday- Arms

Doing it this way allows you to hit your muscles harder and work out everyday, giving you muscles time to recover. You can work out if you are a little sore but not if you are still really sore.

you're better off doing a split that compliment's the muscle groups;

Chest-Tris
Back-Bis
Shoulders-Legs

(Not OP) Wow, that sounds awesome. I'm trying that schedule out.

its a bit flawed, a better workout grouping IMO is.

Chest/Tri's
Back/Traps
Legs/Ab's
Shoulders/Bicep

You need to keep back and bis on the same day because say your doing curls, you still use your back-these are the splits that give you the most gain out of a workout.

DO ABS AT THE END OF EVERY WORKOUT, and include two core excercises ie. Squats and the Clean

I stopped doing abs a while back because I don't want that bumpy bodybuilder ab look, I want the flat, narrow ab look like brad pitt. Abs are worked so much when I do squats, deads, clean and jerk, run, etc, there's no need to kill them seperately anymore. I'm just focusing on losing body fat to make them show better.

I was actually just joking, cleans are fine if your gym has enough space for them. but atleast in mine they have it clusterfucked with SmithFail's.
