hey /fit/ I woke up at 5pm yesterday and now it's 7am

Should I go to the gym but I'm feeling rather fatigued, should I skip the session or should I still go?

I messed up my sleeping pattern and intend to stay up till tonight to knock it back into shape.

Just go for a walk. Anything else will make you too tired.

Go to the gym and workout. No excuses.

OP HERE

The other thing I gotta consider is that I need to stay awake for another 10 hours at least.

I figured strenuous exercise will make it harder afterwards since I'll be too exhausted - on the other hand the endorphins released might keep me awake.

Oh yeah depending on the response, I wanna go now cos the gym is open.

Also, the gym has an indoor swimming pool and sauna, would these help keep me awake?

General rules of thumb:

Cardio keeps you awake
Weight training makes you tired

So would it be ok for me to do like 45mins of jogging and weight training, swimming and then jumping into the sauna for 15mins?

Depends how strenuous you do your exercises compared to how you would normally do them. Have some caffeine, that'll do ya good.

Hmm well I suppose I usually try to do 5miles on the treadmill, which is an hours worth.

I dont know if that is considered strenuous or not, but once I done that I was effectively out of action for over a week 'cos my feet hurt like hell. But I dont want to go back to being a slob and partially feel that waking up late again is another excuse to not go.

I feel ya man. If you're really feeling that fatigued, you should go in anyways but do some lighter cardio instead. You'll get your exercise, and it won't kill you energy levels. If anything, you'll probably feel more alert from the endorphins then if you didn't go to the gym.
