Ok, this board has really gone to shit recently. I mean, it's not like it was ever great, but recently it's been downright intolerable.

So who is /fit/?
Most people here are fat bastards that don't know anything about nutrition. Lots of you screaming faggots think you do, but really only resort to "rules of thumb" and the like. You pissants read online articles of dubious veracity that support whatever bullshit claims you are currently making and refer to them like gospel.

Here's a fucking thought. Different people have different objectives for fitness. There is not one universal definition of what 'fitness' means. That being said, yeah, it's alright to eat oatmeal at night. It's alright to consume large amounts of carbs if your fitness routine justifies it. It's fine to have cheat meals and cheat days. Fruits won't kill you. Protein won't fuck up your liver in these concentrations. 'Natural' bodybuilding isn't any better than normal. Vegetarians and vegans can get their essentials from other means. Natural foods don't have an advantage over supplements. Etc, etc, etc... Running for a distance burns more calories than walking for a distance. Yes, it's possible to burn 1200 calories in an hour - just because you aren't fit enough to do so doesn't mean others also aren't. Etc, etc, etc...

Jesus shitting christ.

Meh maybe a troll but who cares, I lost 30 pounds in two months and its easy and you are right a lot of people are like that but they ask help and we help them with what we know dickhead. If they expect to be getting proper information from everyone, then they shouldn't be coming to 4chan should they?
>> Anonymous
Yeah, people seem to be bringing a bit too much /b/ here.

I've always looked at it this way: there are lots of ways to do nutrition, but only a few really good ways to do strength training. Like, as far as nutrition is concerned, a lot of people do Venuto's plan, and that works well for them, but a lot of people do the Anabolic Diet, which fails miserably for a lot of people but works wonders for others. So with nutrition there are only a few base rules you have to stick to: eat 500-1000 calories (or 15-20%) under your TDEE, stick to complex carbs if you can, and eat frequent, small meals. Everything else is just maximizing results, and is pretty largely customizable.

With strength training, however, if you're not doing at least the most important compound barbell exercises, your workout is incomplete. Period.
Just something I noticed recently.

Dude this is 4chan - what the fuck were you expecting?

>I lost 30 pounds in two months

A lot of that was probably lean body mass. You'll get it all back, and you should not be giving advice to other people.

Unless you're a fatty, in which case 30 pounds in two months is just within the realm of "normal". But I mean, like, a serious fatty.

Hi, welcome to /fit/. Hope you stick around. Stop pretending the cancer has spread to places that aren't /b/.

Actually a lot of people have been saying that thats really bad but I feel soo much better then what i did even though i wasnt overweight i mean i am 14 and I just started eating healthy as hell and exercising and honestly didn't expect it to be that fast but i lost soo much weight and it just keeps going down. But lately it's been going back up since my muscles have been really sore so i haven't been able to exercise as much. I think it's mainly because i Cut out everything fattening watch my carbs and calories and i now wake up in the morning and run as well as run later and swim and walk on a stair stepper and what not. Just bursting as much exercise i can before school starts again.

I don't really have anything to say. I'm lurking in /fit/ trying to glean the real good knowledge from the bullshit trend knowledge. So I'm not one of the people you described. GO ME!

THAT BETTER BE A TYPO BOY. AND IF NOT UNDERAGE B&.
>> Anonymous
>>263661
I am underaged B& but honestly i think the mods like me or something because i've been saying my age for the past 2 weeks.
>> Anonymous
>>263658

Alright, I take it back. But that was probably a lot of water weight, combined with the standard 1-2 lbs a week. For 97% of the population, 2lbs a week is the standard figure for weight loss.
>> Anonymous
>>263669
It probably is but you know i feel really good about my body and don't feel like shit and a lot of it is because of /fit/. Might get banned though today because someone is reporting me for being 14 so if im banned good luck.
>> Anonymous
>>263669
How much waterweight CAN a person lose? One time when I went hiking and was being a fucking RETARD I lost... four pounds of waterweight that I gained right back from drinking a lot of water afterwards (instead of during, FUCKING RETARDED AM I).

Just delete your post. Click the check box beside your post, and go down to the bottom of the page and click "delete", then repost it saying that you're 18.

>>263674

when you talk about "water weight" it's more referring to water retention. when you're fat and sedentary and eat a lot of salty foods, you retain water a lot easier than if you're active and you spend a lot of time sweating. when you first start working out, one of the first things that happens, like in the first couple of weeks or so, is you stop holding on to every single glass of water you drink. which means you lose a lot of that weight you've been holding onto from years of fatassery. it varies with everyone.

Meh why hide it, if the mods will ban me even though i try and help whoever i can then its their choice. thanks for the thought though.

I wish this 14 year old would shut the fuck up. Seriously, stop posting in every thread. You're probably just starting to go through puberty, your results/methods are completely irrelevent to us grownups.

what about 1k calories

in 40 minutes?!?!?
>> Ass Pirate !LcssG2D8Js
>>264610
so you ran a 8.5 miles in 42 minutes... 1 mile at 4:52?

I somehow don't believe that.
>> Anonymous
>>264613

not a treadmill, stationary bike
>> Anonymous
>>264610

Nice, it takes me from 41-43 minutes to burn 1000 calories on the elliptical. One time I was on ephedrine and caffeine and had had lots of carbs and managed to do it in 39 minutes. That was awesome.
>> Anonymous
>>264610

Weight/Age put into the bike?

I'm just curious as I did 10.2 miles (the .2 was cooldown, so 10 really) in 35 minutes on a recumbent stationary today in the gym. Machine said 440 something for calories burned, but I was too lazy to put in my real stats.

Machine defaults for the 440 burned were 0 years old, 150lbs. My actual stats are 20/270 (yes, I'm out of shape, thats why i'm working on it). Am I looking at less burned or epic numbers if I put my real stats in?
>> Anonymous
>>264730
probably less. lower age = higher calorie burn, no?
>> Anonymous
>>264737
Higher weight = more calories burned
>> Anonymous
>>264737

Probably. I'm not sure how they map 0 though since its an obvious default. I'll put in the real stats some other time to see.

1k calories for 8.5 miles just seems high w/o some godly level of resistance. It's my first week back in the gym so I'm just doing intervals with moderate resistances to keep my speed up. The mere fact that my fat ass can go 10 miles at any speed/resistance is self confidence inspiring enough that I'm pleased even if I'm burning fuck all so go me.
