So I've been doing some reading and it hit me.

Parkour. One of the only times that the French come up with something awesome to the extent of a martial art, and it's all about getting the fuck out of places.

It looks really fucking tiring. Most people would give it up due to frustration.

It doesn't actually require a lot of physical strength if your doing it right. The entire martial art is based around getting from point A to point B as fast as possible using the smallest amount of energy. A lot of the guys doing stuff like that and doing crazier moves are more freeruners than parkour artists.

Still it takes a bit of physical strength to jump high, pull yourself up, and keep going for any length of time longer then one minute.

I've always been curious about trying this out. How does one go about starting? Do you just run in a group through the city and jump over shit, kind of like a casual jog?

From what I understand people usually start by learning to vault and jump with precision between two narrow platforms.

yeah basically. go run around your local town, pick a spot to get to and try to get to it really directly. if you want to work on your technique i know a few gymnast gyms around the country have open sessions where you can practice stuff like that.
