Okay, anecdotal support for the no-masturbation crowd:
I've personally surveyed my own levels of energy and motivation in relation to the frequency with which I'm masturbating, how long since I've last masturbated, etc. Done it for many years because I always had a sneaking suspicion there was something to be said about it, and this is without any anti-fapping propaganda being pushed on me. I can honestly say that I'm much less motivated and energy-drained for about 18-24 hours after an orgasm, and this is something very regular that I can depend on to happen every time I go at it. It seems common-sensical; if the entirety of human motivation is essentially to get you to bang a chick, then every orgasm is really a signal to your body that the race is finally over and with any luck you've made a baby, so there's no particular reason to need to go anywhere or do anything anymore, at least not until you've made more sperm for another go at it. And I've seen my own observations validated by other informal surveys taken at places as diverse as lucid dreaming and bodybuilding forums, where people who volunteer to stop fapping almost always say they find themselves with more energy, alertness, motivation, etc the longer they spare the rod.
Every time this question comes up there's a bunch of vitriol thrown to the effect of "lol dumbass of course masturbation is good for you" but I think that kind of response is really just leftover backlash from dealing with puritans who wanted to say masturbation was in some objective sense bad, or evil, or sinful, or irresponsible, or a sign of weakness. It's none of those things, but at the same time I find many many benefits to abstaining from ejaculation. This doesn't even mean that I don't masturbate, but that when I do I just mess around for a while and then stop before orgasm.
