I've had a goal to run the NYC marathon by the time I turn 30. I'm almost 26 and ever since college, I've let my health go to complete shit. I've recently started running and I am trying to set realistic goals (first a 5k, then a 10k, etc) for myself. I'm incredibly out of shape and suffer from asthma, so starting out has been a little rough. Still, I'm trying my hardest to keep at it. Anyone have some advice on controlling breathing and preventing cramps on my sides?

running is a legs only kinda thing
cut off everything above your waste (yes i meant that, leave the lower intestine & everything above goes)

warm-ups.

As for the breathing, I remember doing swimming and singalongs during aerobics exercises to strengthen my lungs when I was younger. But on the day, you should just take an antihistamine and run.
