You could be doing them wrong. I also have scoliosis, but it doesn't stop me from doing anything. It's very minor, like 4% or 7%, so the doctor refuses to see me but I know more about it because my sister had it more severe and had to wear a brace at night when growing up.
If you seriously don't have serious scoliosis go ahead and do the exercises. However, in case that it's actually worse than you know it to be or has gotten worse go the doctor or ask a physical trainer what they think you should do.
