Fasting Anonymous
Hey /fit/

So I've decided to do a fast, but I'm not sure how to go about it. I know it's as simple as "don't eat", but I also know there are other methods out there; some people will eat fruit, drink juice, tea, etc. I know the purist fast is just drinking water. If anyone knows the advantages/disadvantages to modified and purist fasts, it'd be much appreciated.

Thanks /fit/

Good luck killing your metabolism and eating your muscles with all of the above

Fasting is retarded. You will be eating your own muscle tissue the entire time.

Just for shits and giggles, Write down your max squat before you start, then let us know how much it drops by when you're done.

don't fast. just walk everywhere if you want to lose weight

if you're fasting for a religious reason you're a dumbass

if you're fasting for a protest reason you're better off just blowing up the police station, but i'd go with just water, gets the point across eh?

A word of advice: do not stop eating. if you don't eat, you don't burn fat. eat in reasonable amounts, a male 19-30 yo needs 2800 kcl per day, while a female in the same age needs 2700 kcl. if you wish to lose weight by adjusting your eating-habits, I suggest you eat approx. every 3-4 hour, and eat little. have in mind; you need to eat proteins, carbohydrates, fiber, and small amounts of salt. do not forget milk ;)

a simple meal program could look like this (if you get up at 09.00 am, and go to bed round midnight);
0900; 1 egg, boiled or raw (with a small amount of salt) / 1 cup of tea = approx 150kcl
1300; 1 banana /1 glass of milk =approx 150 kcl
1700; 1 slice of bread, not white bread and 1 cup of tea = approx 230 kcl
2100; 1 apple / 1 glass of milk= approx 100 kclkcl

total amount of kcl ; 630 kcl.

you will loose weight rather fast, but you need to excersize as well, or you will destroy your muscle tissue. I have myself tried this, and I am doing it again, now. am loosing 0,5 kg of fat every day, and i'm getting stronger.

If you should feel sick , dizzy, unwell or simply if anything bad happens, take a day off, eat whatever you want and rest :) then get back on it the next day. this is a program that should only be used 1 month at a time, once a year.

Hey retards, did the OP state that the reason he was fasting was to lose weight?

While that's a possibility, I suggest you all shut the fuck up until it's explicitly stated that that's the reason.

Fasting also does use tons of calories from fat, but you do lose something ridiculous like a quarter of a pound of muscle mass per day after three days.

It's also quite healthy done infrequently for a couple of days, maybe once every three months.

Yeah, losing a quarter of a pound of muscle per day sounds healthy... You must be a personal trainer. This sounds exactly like the shit the personal trainers at my local mega-lo-gym preach.

fasting is a fucking terrible idea.

first of all, nobody gathers enough nutrients in their body to last the fast. hence catabolism.

secondly, those doing it to "clean out toxins" have no idea what fucking toxins they are talking about, you need to do bloods tests etc to see your toxin levels and what specifically you need to flush out. different toxins require different methods.

thirdly, fasting can actually INCREASE toxins contained in your body, as it causes fat cells to be opened and used as energy, spilling out whatever else is in them.
