Protein smoothies at night, around 8 or so. Total around 250-310 calories.

Good idea, or bad idea, /fit/?

I'm just worried that the carbs from the fruits are going to fuck me over at night, since I won't be expending as much energy.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. You need carbs in your diet so your body wont break down the protein for energy use.

Like I said before, protein shakes are highly recommended as a midnight snack and it comes in with 5g of carbs. Do you know how much is in one of your smoothies?

Either way, unless you're really fighting to lose weight, this won't kill you.

You're supposed to avoid carbs the later in the day it gets though. If I were to eat a big ol' bowl of spaghetti right before going to sleep it would all get turned to fat due to your metabolism going way down during sleep.

Thats correct but he's saying that hes taking the shakes at 8, so he's got time to digest unless hes going to bed at 9.

Not so much lose weight, but I do want to keep off the fat. And lose any excess that might be hiding from me.

Sure, but 1000 calories of carbs will only turn into 300 calories of fat. It's not that big a deal.
