Yeah, if you want to get better at sprinting, sprint a lot.
There's technique and form to sprinting as well but if we're talking about exercises . . . then sprinting will be one of the best.
Beyond that, any exercise that builds power in your legs. People neglect their calves but they are very important for explosion in running. Squats, as cliche as it is, will also help.
Make sure you stretch your legs out really well AFTER you do any heavy lifting, though.

Didn't work out hard enough. I don't care what you say about "max weights". If you're not sore at all then you didn't go hard enough.
