Hello /fit/ I intend to lose these extra 10-15 lbs i've gained, but I also wanna get bigger.

Should I focus on losing weight first, and then go at it with heavy proteine diet etc, or the other way around?

bump for wanting to know the answer.

building muscles makes your metabolism go faster, which makes you burn fat faster

Add the muscle first (since you're going to add some fat anyways with muscle in general); and then you can incorporate some training that will help you lose fat later on...

Basically as you bulk up as well, you can increase your metabolism with a proper diet and your larger muscles will help this effect.

Losing fat first is a bad idea since you'll basically just gain it back as you're bulking up...

read jay robbs fat burning diet. My parents are both natural body builders and have been using his system for years. My dad can rip up for a show in no time...and he's close to 50 years old.

Yeah I know that, I'm not some flabby computer fag who just decided to hit the gym. I've been on & off for 2 years or so.

Thing is, I'm doing cardio before breakfast pretty much every day to drop these pounds, is it a waste if I plan to get bigger?

Makes sense but it feels like the extra pounds are weighing me down, as it is right now, I can't do chins or dips at all. Shit sucks.
