Sup /fit/. I pose to you a question.

I am by no definition of the word fit. I eat healthy and exercise moderately, but my body is just prone to being heavier than most naturally. 290 or so.

Now, despite this, I'm still as strong as an ox. I can lift things that most would balk at with ease. Is there any explanation for this? Just curious.

I doubt you're as strong as an ox, especially if you don't lift regularly.

The explanation is called being a Endomorph.

I take it you are surrounded by wimps.

Maybe you're a mesoendomorph type - "strong" (actually puts muscle rather easily) yet fatass.

Cardio kills jelly rolls.

You may have extreme strength, but lack staying power. Tiring quickly and whatnot. Would that be accurate?

if you're really that strong, become a powerlifter

You are strong because your muscles have to carry your 290lbs everywhere. Unless you are 7.5ft tall you are probably lying about eating well and exercising.

Beat me to it.

I'm also a fatty, about 300 lbs, and I'm pretty strong for my weight (although my upper body strength is shit).

I think it's because we carry all this extra weight around with us. Also, endomorph, etc.

I don't eat anything that would be called junk food. Deli sandwiches for lunch, and something sensible for dinner. No sodas, of course.

You're probably one of these fatasses that don't know what they're doing wrong. Like you're making some bacon and use 2 pounds of butter so the bacon doesnt stick to the pan.

Your fat comes from eating. Your body just doesnt magically put on weight out of nowhere when you're eating 2000 calories a day.

whenever I see "endomorph" I read "here's a word to justify me being fat and lazy"

"Now, despite this, I'm still as strong as an ox."

No, you're not. You just think you are.

it's not quality but quantity of food
you can gain weight eating healthy foods and lose weight eating junk

This is true only to an extent. A little crap is still crap.

genetics. I kickbox 5 times a week, bike wherever I'm going on a daily basis, and eat A LOT of food. I'm not very strong though (70 kg, 183 cm), but I'm fast as hell, very limber, etc. Other people living pretty much my lifestyle get huge muscles, or no muscles and no fat. I get small muscles, a little fat, and a pretty good all-around "fitness".
