I can't sleep /fit/

I've been in bed for 3 hours already and still can't get any shuteye

any tips on sleeping faster?

Avoid TV, the computer, or exercise before bed or while trying to get to sleep. Stimulation = no sleep.

Often times I "day dream" in bed until I fall asleep. Pay attention to your muscles and your breathing, actively regulating the latter and relaxing the former.

The milk thing is crap. If anything the added calories will increase your metabolism and give your body energy to burn.

Try to make your bedroom as dark and silent as possible, and slightly cooler than what you perceive to be body temperature. If your bedsheets are old or sweaty change them. Go to the bathroom and take a piss. Take a shit too if you could take one now. Some guys find fapping before bed helps clear the mind too.

Lie in bed. Mentally scan your body starting from your toes and ending with your face, and passing through every other part of your body in turn until you finally get to your face. Consciously relax and make comfortable each part of your body in turn. This could mean turning to sleep in a different position if, say, your arm is going dead, or simply remembering to uncleanch your jaw or eyes.

Next let go of all mental tension. remind yourself that all you have to do in the here and now is to lie back, and to enjoy the process of relaxing and falling asleep. Whatever happened during the day is in the past and can't be changed. Whatever deadlines you may have tomorrow can't be dealt with now. Having the luxury of not having to do anything can seem like a guilty pleasure, but that's what your mission is right now. ALLOW yourself to enjoy just relaxing for relaxing's sake. Whether or not it leads to sleep is academic - lying back with your eyes closed will still go some way to mentally refreshing you. Sleep isn't an all-or-nothing affair, it has stages, and simply relaxing is the first stage.

Next just let your mind wander. If you had an argument with somebody during the day, see their face now and let your unconscious mind say exactly what's on your mind to them. Don't try to consciously verbalise the words, let them come straight from the subconscious. It might come out as gobbledygook, but that's fine. Let other sights and sounds come unbidden, linger on them as long as you like and no longer, then move onto the next mental image. What starts as a chaotic and unlinked sequence will probably gravitate towards some train of thoughts. Just let the visualisation be effortless, unlaboured and fluid. If you did this right, you're now dreaming

if youve got some intense insomnia, forget the presciption shit. go to the OTC aisle and get some melatonin pills (at least 3-5 mg). If that doesn't work try 25-50 mg of diphenadramine (benadryl) with the melatonin. Dont took more than 5 mg of the melatonin thought. Try the melatonin alone first, it works wonders.
