so there's a mouse at the pet store i work at,
and i wanna adopt it. unfortunately, it's leg is severely broken; it looks pretty much crushed. i suspect that she probably got hurt during shipping. vet bills aren't an issue, but i wanted to know if there's any possible way to fix the break? i'm pretty sure it's not likely that the vet will be able to fix it, seeing as she's only young, her bones are too small and the break seems too severe, but i don't want her to be euthanized and i would prefer if her leg wouldn't be amputated. she seems like she's in a lot of pain. also, how much would the surgery cost if she needs it? i live in canada, so canadian currency would be nice.

tldr: i'm adopting a mouse with a broken leg. is it possible it'll heal properly, or will she need an amputation? pic unrelated

You're, like, the biggest fucking pussy I've read on all of 4chan, today. Kill the awful vermin and get yourself a real pet, like a cockroach.

Fucking mousefag.

Oi; that's really tough. You should find a specialist vet and ask them - whoever sees rats and hamsters and the like. I doubt you'll get much help here.
You might also register at the Fun Mouse Forum, as they've given me good advice in the past.

people who take mice and rats to the vet are why the economy is fucked, though I'm sure the vets love it..."let me kill it for you....that'll be $50 please."

thefunmouse.com has a great forum, and they'll be very happy to see you're taking it to the vet. I'm no vet, but if it looks *crushed* I can't imagine doing much other than amputating, but really, that wouldn't be so bad I don't think, lots of animals live with 3 legs.

Taking a mouse to the vet's like taking any other pet. It costs you X amount to see the doctor, and then you're charged for medicines and procedures. I don't know what's normal in Canada, though.
Your first task's going to be finding an exotic or small animal vet. Dogs and cats are much more popular. Without looking at the leg I'd say it -should- heal, she probably should have antibiotics, it likely won't heal -well- and there'll be mobility and probably socialization problems later on. Surgery likely won't be in the cards.
I do wish you luck.

If you think people spending money on things is why the economy is fucked you clearly have no fucking grasp of economics.
