So, ecospheres. Are these things awesome, just retarded, or somewhere in between?

my science teacher has had one for like, 7 years i think he said.
i'm sure he still has it and it'd always bitch at anyone who went to close to it.

i'd like one but geeze, 50 bucks? i wish they had a cheap 'starter' one just so i know i'm taking care of it right.

they sell x-large ones, if there was only two shrimp(lets say a male and female), would they reproduce?

No, its actualy self sustaining. the shrimp and plants reproduce before dieing off.

Not true.

Go read the site. They claim that the shrimp rarely reproduce. And in marketing lingo "rarely happens" equals never happens. Once the shrimp die, that's it.

They even explain in their FAQ:

"The average life of the small sphere and small pod is 2-3 years."

Yeah, my bad. My science teacher had one, and when i asked her how long it lasts she said forever. note to self, dont ask a physics teacher a biology question.

Basically dont ever buy one if you failed Biology class!

If it dies on you, you are a failure at the game.

They seem pretty cool though. I heard of one based on plants and land based animals instead, anyone ever heard of those?
