this is my kitty, Kito. He has 28 toes, eight in frontlegs and six in backlegs. He's quite clumsy and noisy because of huge paws. Is dat normal?
>> menchi !IgWlr3a0sk
the term is "polydactyl"
I have one with 6 toes per paw, myself.
it's quite adorable.

unworthy of life. kill it

If by "normal" you mean "does it happen a lot"? It's rare. But if you mean "is it a problem"? No. Polydactyl kitties aren't prone to any particular problems, either with their feet or as a 'marker' for other genetic diseases.

He is probably just normally clumsy, as most kittens are and the big ol' feets just add to it -- probably adorably.

i wish i had two extra fingers on each hand. bitches would really get a shocker when they get 3 in the pink and 2 in the stink.

Thats would actually happen if you gave them a Spock
Shocker is 2 in the pink and 1 in the stink, so it would be 3 in the pink 1 in the stink or 2 and 2.
Spock on the other hand is 2 in each which means extra finger will result in 3 in the pink 2 in the stink, what you have just said.

Adorable kitn!

Make sure you examine all of his feet carefully, polydactyl cats often get claws or parts of claws growing in between toes and in the wrong places which can cause the cat a lot of pain if not regularly trimmed as they grow into the skin again due to strange positions.

Why is it that polydactyl cats are everywhere, but I've never heard of any other pets having it? Are cats trying to evolve more digits or something?

They need moar thumbs to successfully replace humans.

What if cats became somewhat intelligent and tried to live the way humans do today?

I do wonder in a million years or so how some of today's animals will look.

i have one...it's a hemmingway cat or polydactyl cat.
however, mine is not clumsy at all and hunts the shit out of any small living creature that comes into our yard. it uses his extra fingers much like we use thumbs.

You mean, what if cats became less intelligent. The damn buggers get everything they need just by being cats. No actual work required. It would be dumb for them to try to be more human-like.

The furfags would love it

Polydactylism occurs in humans too. In fact, it's the dominant gene in the human, and i guess cat, genome. But humans tend to only copulate with other humans with 5 fingers on each appendage, so the recessive gene is seen more often. Go to the tiny Amish communities in New England and you'll see lots of polydactylism.

that among many other genetic problems the amish have by having such a small breeding population
