Polypterus are fucking amazing, I've got a little ornatipinnis as well as a few other breeds. :D

I have a Senegal who I bought at 3", he's at over 6" now. The coolest fish I've ever seen!

I should've posted a picture. Here's my Senegal and Delhezi (Scott Hall and Kevin Nash). Kevin Nash is no longer with me.

Finally, my senegalus.

In all fairness, the ornatipinnis belongs to my fiancee since I got it as a gift to her. :)

Wow those are nice, especially the Ornati, (I've never even seen one up close). How big are they?

The palmas is a good 8-10" long and the other two are probably 6".

I've had the palmas for a good two years and the others about 6 months to a year.

If you like bichirs, check out the African Lungfish I've had for 6 years; he's about 18"(he wouldn't stop moving for a good picture) :D Friend of mine has one from the same batch and it's HUGE, probably about 30" and eats mice. Mine has grown very slowly since he was in a 30 gallon tank for most of his life, he enjoys a 55 gallon now.

Bah, the ornatipinnis isn't being very photogenic tonight, here's another of my palmas.

Yay, got one of my ornitipnnis! The little guy likes hanging around my power head and then was hiding behind a piece of drift wood.

Oh I've seen those Lungfish before, cept the ones I saw were black, they look almost as ancient as the Bichirs.

I used to keep my Bichirs in a 30 gallon too but I've moved my fish into a wide 75 now with an Arowana.

This is a better shot of my old Delhezi. It ended up becoming the runt of my tank when it came to feeding and on top of that was very picky. So I decided it might be better off being in it's own tank where all the food doesn't disappear within seconds. I currently have it up for sale at a fish farm nearby.

Ooh, black with white spots? I tried raising one of those once, South American IIRC. It was a tiny little baby when I got mine but it disappeared in my 10 gallon tank years ago. I've still never seen one for sale since. :/

Yeah I'm pretty sure it was one of those.

Disappeared? Lol maybe it bailed behind the tank?
