yo /an/ what large dogs (german shepherd, standard poodle, golden retriever etc.) dont moult? I know poodles don't, but I was looking for something with less curly hair, but still kinda long, akin to a golden retriever.

I have a corgi atm, and it moults like CRAZY! I'm surprised she has any fur left damnit!

Yorkshire Terrier?

Cairn Terrier?

And the Norwich Terrier you have to pluck the hair yourself, and that one has some jaws and temper.

wtf. birds moult. dogs shed.

Noob, all dogs moult. You can't stop it. Best way to stop hair gettin everywhere is to combe em frequently.

Is there any type of special comb I can use that picks up moar hair than a normal one? I can brush my cat with a curry comb for hours and it's like an infinite hair ball.

dont get a golden labrador they moult like hell all year round

Get an undercoat rake (furminator, etc) for long/thick furred dogs. I have a border collie/husky mix who would shed buckets otherwise, but I quickly go over his coat with it every few days and he doesn't shed much at all.

poodles and a few other breeds don't acutally. Educate yourself n00b!

You may want to try to get a poodle/lab and or golden retriever mix. My poodle/golden retriever mix is huge, weighing in at about 90 pounds. Does NOT shed. There is still a little curl to their fur but not alot. =)

There are some dogs which don't shed. Well, some dogs which shed very little. I dunno about big ones. I think some variety of labs do.
Ah, here are some sites. 1 minute in google.

Looks like the bigger dogs are, from a quick glance,
The Bouvier des Flandres, 75 - 95 pounds male, 65-85 female
Giant Schnauzer, 60-80 males, 55-75 females
Airedale, 40-55 pounds

IIRC, Schnauzers in general don't shed.

my cousin has a supposed labrador/poodle mix that sheds like crazy (and is kind of ugly to boot). can't always depend on that sort of thing.

All the "non-shedding" dogs are ugly as shit.

Educate YOURSELF, sir! Poodles and such actually DO shed, but because the hair is curly the shed undercoat is trapped in the woolly overcoat. Undercoat is the only way for dog hair to cord, and Poodle coats can cord.

If you want a dog that doesn't shed then get a Mexican Hairless. Otherwise, deal with having a dog that sheds. Go get is groomed twice a year to get the undercoat blown for you.

Agreed. I picked up a furminator comb thing at the local vet for my own Corgi. Keeping him combed regularly cuts down on his shedding so damn much.
