Funny thing is ... it's true. My cat got into my graphite transfer paper once, so I had to give her a quick bath (as she's white and it looked very lol). ...I've never seen an animal scale a vertical linoleum surface before. By the time it was over I was a little dizzy from the blood loss.

Does your cat calm down eventually, though? My cat scales the wall in the bathtub too, but then she uses that small cat brain of hers to realize if she just sat still it'll be over soon.

That cat looks like it's saying "How could you betray me like this?!"

Bathing a cat is way easier if you have a walk-in shower stall. Basically they just sit there and cry the whole time but you don't need to get scratched and you can take a shower at the same time to save a bit of water.

I don't understand why people get all scratched up while bathing their cats.

Just trim their nails beforehand. It's not really that hard. Why put yourself through the pain?

I have this question since forever... How come some cats have such small ears? Is it any special breed? I think cats with small ears are adorable!

Or alternatively, grow some muscles and hold the cat firmly. Or, if you're a woman, get a man-friend to help you.

It's a breed called scottish fold. They're insanely popular in Japan.

Their ears aren't really smaller, just folded in half.

Thank you! You can't blame the japanese, they're absolutely adorable ^^

Mine is HILARIOUS to watch when having a bath. Who knew such a small thing could cause such destruction?

Actually, I worry that the water is too hot or cold. I have it sort of lukewarm but I wonder if that feels very unpleasant for a cat? Any ideas folks?

I've never washed a cat in a tub. Seems good, man. They don't stink, I'm not a pussy with allergies, and I keep them fucks indoors. The most I'd do is wipe them down with a moist towelette.

Is it very common for people to regularly bathe their cats? I never wash mine because they all smell fine. I have two females and one male. The females always smell good, sort of like a light perfume, and the male... smells like cat, but not very strongly; you have to stick your face in his long fur and inhale to even smell him.

My cat like the water. He hops in the shower with me. COMMUNAL MAN/CAT BATHING.

There is no reason to bathe a cat, unless it gets into something weird.

Molested cat did not enjoy his bath and feels violated.

Why would anyone try and sit in a tub full of water with a most likely pissed off miniature killing machine?

I found that feeding the cat and grooming them after a bath actually makes them more quiet when you bath them the next time. Maybe they feel that bathing is just a minor inconvinice before food and grooming? Also, i used, lukewarm water.

I bathe mine about twice a year. They enjoy getting into bonfires, etc, so it's good to wash the soot off. It also seems to help with their moulting - they have VERY thick fur and moult like a bitch, their hair tangles etc, and bathing just seems to make it easier.

Plus they are adorable when wet.
