Lethargic lizard Anonymous
Dear /an/,
My bearded dragon hasn't moved in about a week. She just lies there all day, and has rarely eaten food I offer her. She seems to do this often. She's about 4 years old, and fatty.
What is this? Is it normal?
Also it's butt-cold lately, would that have anything to do with it?

PS Dragon is not dead

It has a heatlamp. Heat radiates from the tank. Will check temperature when I get off of work

Needs more calcium?

A google search would probably be a lot more helpful than /an/.. or a vet.

Would you move much if you're cold? No, and you're warm-blooded. Fucking retard.

It's normal, don't really worry. It is very likely that your lizard is going through brumation, like hibernation but for reptiles. (Google it). My beardie is right now, too, he does it every year. This happens when it's winter and butt-cold outside. Bearded dragons can become very lethargic and not eat nearly as much as they usually do. Mine also likes to burrow at the bottom of the cage under the paper and I keep having to put him back under the heat lamp so that he doesn't get too cold.

Remember that these can also be signs that your dragon is sick, so just be aware. Make sure the cage is warm, but I'm sure your dragon is just fine.

It's been vacuumed since then, but pet hair has a tendency to accumulate. Well, so does human hair, but that's gross.
