Was he fixed? Try putting food on your doorstep or somewhere near your house.

You serious? The longer you wait, the further he'll get away.
You wasted 7 minutes waiting for a response and more time typing up this thread!

Don't blame your GF - accidents happen and it's easy to forget things late at night.

In most cases they'll come back! Sometimes even days afterwards. Leave food outside, call him and if it's safe, you might even leave a window open for him.
Get him neutered. He might also start escaping because he wants excitement before he dies of old age, or he is bored.

Unfortunately he wasn't fixed (he was scheduled to get neutered on the eleventh of this month believe it or not) I put food right next to the door, we had a really bad rain last night so I laid next to the screen door hoping the rain would scare him back.

I've been looking for him most of the morning, my city is pretty small but I cant imagine it'd be very easy to find him 9 hours after he left.

Cant be the old age he's not even a year yet..hopefully he just went to score some tail and finds his way home..

Did you love this cat? If so, how are you going to feel about your girlfriend if he never comes back?

Sure I do, if I didnt I wouldnt be looking for him.

People make mistakes I wouldn't think any differently of my girlfriend, I've been with her for 4 years and technically the cat is both of ours.

He'll come back, he knows where his dinner comes from.

about all you can do is wait and hope. some cats come back but most don't. being an indoor cat cars will be his main enemy since he's likely to freak out and try to dash across the street when ones coming.

If my girlfriend would've let the cat escape I would bitch slap her and tell her to gfindthecat. Even if the cat is hers...

I dont get this. My cats come and go as they please, they have catflap to do so. They come home when dinner time. Sometimes they stay out for day or night, but they always come. They live here, why would they go else where?

GEE I DON'T KNOW MAYBE BECAUSE CATS WHO SPENT THEIR WHOLE LIFE INSIDE ARE DIFFERENT THAN CATS WHO COME AND GO AS THEY PLEASE

You know not everyone live in a community filled with only white people. Sometimes some of us live in an appartment block filled with chinese people in a chinese hood. And I don'T think you would like to know that your neighbors are having a cat soup.

Pic related It is my girlfriend's cat

I'm glad I don't have those problems!

Used to live in Psychoville once though - right on the border of Hickstown. Gunshots, loud music, screams, animal mutilation, tyres screeching, drunks, darting eyes, racism, threats and spying. Oh yeah, and the local council took part too.

Good luck with your cat!

OP here

been looking on foot pretty much all day, been reading and it says that they usually stay within a 2 block radius, but no success. They also say to leave his scratching post and an article of your clothing etc outside because they can pick up on the scent.

I have work in 30 minutes, hopefully he comes back tonight.

If your cat is not there when you get home OP.

-Put up missing posters
-Call local animal shelters in case he gets picked up.

Does you cat have a collar or is it chipped? You have a better chance of getting your cat back if it is.

OP here great news! the girlfriend found him at about 11pm est in some bushes about a block away.

bad news: his leg looks swelled and he's having one helluva time walking on it...he did jump off a 2nd story roof after all.. it looks as though there's a small pebble embedded in his paw though I cant say for sure, looks like a trip to the vet is in order tomorrow :/

thanks for the help everyone.

Congrats Anon! Take the lesson learned here and kitty-proof the escape exits of your place. Or at the very least get him chipped. It's not that expensive nowadays.
