How do animals get along with eachother? I've seen videos and pictures of cats and dogs hanging out together and grooming, birds and cats cuddleing and cats playing with eachother. (Sorry for all the cat examples)

I'm trying to get a few of my birds to get along with eachother, I'm sure there are a few animal mechanisms I can learn that can make them friendlier to eachother. Maybe I can make them smell the same or get them to realize whenever they preen eachother they get treats. But as it is they continuously attack eachother and it makes me sad.

The bird in question is new, relatively. (about four months) and her new feathers around her neck are coming out unpreened. What to do?

Some dogs don't like other dogs, some cats hate other cats, some dogs will try to eat cats, ect ect

Animals vary, a lot. I once had a household of cats who hated each other (they didn't fight, just the occasional hiss and growling, and general ignoring.) My current cat, on the other hand, loev other kitties. My dog can't stand other dogs, but will groom any small animals in the house.
As for your birds, I don't know. I wouldn't try to force them together, as it seems to be causing stress. Why not read up on the bird first? Some might just prefer being solitary. In any event, if there's problems between them, DONT keep them in the same cage. Separate them as soon as problems arise.
