Hey /an/, I have a little problem here I can't seem to solve.
About a month, maybe month and a half ago my cat gave birth to a group of 4 cats, one was dispatched by the dog as it tried to play with it ;_;. The remaining 3 were fed by their mother normally, until yesterday. A kitty's mother (the kitty is around the same age as our group of kitties, maybe half a month older). He was lonely so we brought him in, gave him a little bit of milk on a saucepan and some hard food (which he ate), and well he made friends with the kitties at home and slept with them all night. Morning comes and the cats are going nuts looking for their mom who shows up at about 9AM, completely disregarding their existence, I try to show them to her, but she just bats her head away, I'm afraid the other cat's scent may have rubbed off on them and she no longer recognizes them as her own. Now, she's been coming and going, not paying attention to them, so I poured some kitty litter, some kitten food, and a bit of milk mixed with water to ease them into trying to feed themselves, but to no avail. They don't want anything to do with the saucepan, even when I slightly dunk their mouths in the milk, they don't open their mouths at all, I've tried using my finger on their mouths, but they ignore it. How do I get them to eat? This always worked when it happened before, but these guys seem more resilient... I've also tried putting some of the kitten food in the milk in hopes of softening it so they can actually chew it (they have very little teeth as you could imagine), but no go. Any ideas on how to take care of a group of kittens abandoned by their mother?

What does this have to do with diplodocus?

Not much. Not much at all.

This is serious.

You'll need a syringe. Take of the needle, fill with milk, and inject the milk into the kitten's mouths about 4 times a day I think.

Take into account the kitten's stomachs are about the size of a grape right now.

How old are the kittens who aren't weaned/eating?

They do sell bottles and kitten formula (or premixed) at pet stores. Also, if the kittens aren't pooping or peeing, you're going to have to stimulate that often (at least once every two hours,) with a cotton ball covered in warm water (the mom cat usually does this with her tongue.)

There's only one that wasn't weaning, it's the outsider we picked up after his mother died. This is frustrating the heck out of me, none of the other older cats seem to get along with him either.
Also I'm under the impression they are pooping/peeing behind our washing machine, I'll be moving that in a little bit to confirm.

Oh also, the ones that refuse to eat are a month and a half old, sorry.

maybe it's brutal, but it will help... kitties know where moms tits is, and will dring, all you need is to force mother cat, not to run away and not to harm kitties.
