So my sister brought home this dog a while ago. The family spoils her and thinks I am cruel for wanting to discipline her. The situation has gone out of hand. She barks bloody murder whenever she hears a strange sound or the door knock. She jumps on people and gets rewarded for being 'cute'.

How can I break the nasty habits of dog when others are manipulating her to be the little monster that she is? I've tried to get the others to not reinforce the behavior, but I am ignored and they will pet her to "calm" her down when she is barking and growling at someone. Which is totally the wrong thing to do.

Find episodes of dog training shows with people totally spoiling rotten dogs and looking like idiots for it, and their family members going nuts. Show family.

There isn't a way you can discipline a dog if the others aren't on board - it might stop doing some of those bad behaviors around you, but there's no guarantee.

I think one of the shows>>204452is talking about is 'Its me or the dog'.

Honestly, if everyone else lets the dog do what it wants it's gonna do what it wants. You can train it not to do that shit when YOU'RE around, but it'll probably be just as much of a bastard with everyone else.
