I have a Beagle, they're crazy little dogs. Literally crazy. And they don't listen worth a shit, either.

I have a basset hound and she's sweet when she wants to be, but she whines at EVERYTHING. And I don't like the fact that she smells, no matter how many times we bathe her. I know it's just the kind of dog she is, but christ she smells exceptionally bad on hotter days.

Amazing breed.

I have a Bassador (Basset/Lab mix), and as dopey as he is, he's a fucking awesome dog.

Before purchasing any kind of hound, please acquire a recording of their barks.

And play that for four hours straight. If you can handle it, thanks for being a good sport and take great care of your dog!

Disclaimer: I know not all hounds bark constantly, and even the barky ones can be trained not to. But if you get a hound, you WILL hear barking, and if you require silence, don't torture yourself or the dog by getting a hound anyway.

One of my friends who lives very close to me has a beagle that barks ALL THE TIME. He barks when he sees you, when you leave, when you come near him and when you're playing. He also hates guys and loves girls. The neighbors have tried to tell them to stop his barking and they've tried, but he won't stop.

My basset's pretty quiet. She only barks at other dogs from a distance and then is friendly with them as she gets closer; other than that she just yawns and that's most of what I hear out of her

I have a dog that's mostly hound of some sort, and she makes all kinds of weird noises at me when I come home. I am trying to teach her to say "harbl" but she is very stupid.
She doesn't ever bark, but bays a lot at night.

I have a beagle/basset mixed. He's a guard dog of sorts, unless you stand next to him. Then he'll just piss on you. He barks at anything that moves outside our 1 arce of fenced in yard.

Other than being a bit whiney and scared of thunder and lighting, he's a good dog.

Get one if you live in the woods or have a big back yard. If you live in the city or apartment, avoid this breed.

I really don't like basset hounds, I think they're dumb.
