I've never had one but I've known some and they were all very good dogs. Very sweet, very furry, quite smart. They are big dogs, though, and need good solid training. I've never heard anyone say they were particularly hard to train, though.
They were used in their native country as cart dogs and for general watchdog work around the farm, so they would probably enjoy some kind of work to do. I know some people who have the larger Grosser Sennens and they have trained them to pull carts in parades and things, and they enter pulling contests, too. The dogs seem to love it.
