So /an/, if you could have a non-domestic cat as a pet, such that it wasn't necessarily fully domesticated but did like being around you and would not maul you to death? Whether or not it mauls other people at your command is optional.

Pic is Fishing Cat, to get that one out of the way.

I think actually they are the biggest cats that can purr.

Fishing Cat would be #1... typically. Otherwise, If no Fishing Cat, I would go for a Lynx.

Smilodon Populator. The largest species of "Saber toothed cat." You didn't say it had to be one that still exists.

weigh up to 880 lbs. Who wouldn't want one or five?

Pack hunters, estimated to>>336027
Yes, cougars can pur. They're the largest of the Felis genus, which are the purring cats. They can't roar, though.

I'd have an ocelot too. Like a leopard, but one metre tall and cute as fuck.

I'd love a black panther, but I'm going to have to think realistic here.

In order: Serval, Ocelot, Sand Cat.

It's cause of the black mark that looks like a handlebar moustache. You half expect them to, at any minute put on a sombrero, and go Pancho Villa on your ass.

Not the largest cat. Ligers... Largest one is 10ft long and already weighs 500pounds and he's only 3 years old. "When he is fully grown he is expected to reach 12ft, and almost 90 Tonns."
