Soup /an/. Wut does anon use for messing with his cats? Personally, I wind them up a bit with the catwhip (18" perspex rod with a strip of fabric attatched to one end), then deploy the laser pointer when they're good and ready, all on top of a few lines of catnip, of course. Any other suggestions?

I've found peacock feathers work even better than laser pointers to get even a lazy fat cat to go nuts

Ring on a string. It makes Ko go nuts, but Kaat doesn't particularly care. Lazy bag'a shit. But I love her.

I give catnip every so often, and I usually keep a few feathery toys in the catnip tub to toss out now and again. My cats will only play with two certain kinds of toys and laser toys. They will play with anything if bored, but only these two seem to attract them:
The Play N' Squeak has a built-in soundbox that chirps and squeaks as the cat bats it around.

The Wooley Bully is great because after the cat has fluffed it all out and ripped it up, you can just put it inside a sock and run it through your hot water wash to bring it back to playable state.

I like this one too, because it's fun to watch the cats flip out all over the house:

I have a cat toy on the end of a rod& reel that I cast over into the dining room. I try to reel it back to me before the cat catches it.

Oh man this one looks great, but i can't help feeling it's a bit cruel, even though I know it wont hurt the cat.

I have a cat that loves straws, the drinking kind, and balled up paper napkins. He has a sixth sense about them.

Leave a straw unguarded and it will disappear. You will find playing with it later and find it in pieces.

Balled up paper napkins, he almost has a sixth sense about them. Doesn't care about them when they are flat but, the moment to ball it up when you are done with it the game is on. He will sneak into an empty chair next to you and wait for you to look away. The moment you do both the napkin and him are gone.
