You could use the same ignorant argument against almost any breed, if you go back far enough in their history. If you'd ever known a Staffie, or knew anything about them, you'd know that they are anything but aggressive today. Since you don't, and you haven't, I suppose you can't be expected to. In which case you should probably shut the fuck up.
