I have an egyptian mau. A bronze one. They are very fast cats, look them up on wikipedia. Very soft fur, calm nature, mine is very shy though, he hides from people he doesn't know. They're gorgeous cats :)

I've been trying to get an egyptian mau for years, I just keep ending up living in areas far from breeders, and I really don't like the idea of having a kitten shipped via plane to me.

my cat looks VERY much like that cat, same face and similar pattern fur. wonder if he has some of those genes.

Mine was found living in a friend's garage, we estimate she was 1-2 years old at the time
they're very intelligent, vocal, relaxed. loyal- she follows me all around the house.

I found my kitty as a stray, and I'm pretty sure she's a Mau. She's very smart & vocal, and she loves to pretend she's marking territory (as described in the Wikipedia entry).

Stop.Calling.Your.Cat.A.Mau.

It is a mutt, with mau-like traits. Unless it has a pedigree, or you can otherwise confirm it's heritage, it is not that.

That coat pattern? Is called mackrel tabby. It can happen in any litter of cats born ever. A dog that is black and brown is not a "rot/shephard mix". It just happens to have an extremely common coat pattern generally associated with those breeds.

I hate when people do shit like this. "Oh my dog is a lab" NO your dog is a fucking mutt, maybe it's great grandfather was a labrador, but it sure as fuck isn't. I have no problem with someone describing their pet as a breed, as long as they don't say it IS that, unless they have some firm evidence that it is. Registration papers, genetic tests, etc.

Here, I'll give you two examples. I have a bobcat hybrid. She looks somewhat like a bobcat. She also looks a good bit like an egyptian mau.

Now, why do I call her a hybrid? Because she has extra teeth. Domestic cats do not have a specific set of teeth, though wildcats do. Hybrids in the first few generations sometimes have these teeth. She does. Therefore, i can safely call her a hybrid.

Maybe I should go around calling her an egyptian mau/bobcat hybrid, despite the fact that there are no fucking maus around, and if there was one, they're too fucking expensive for people to let mate with a bobcat.

This is ridiculous.

Also, tortishell is not a breed. It's a coat pattern.

My last words on this because I'm frothing at the stupidity:

Why you suck a cock smoke? Shit hook!

Sir, you're a mongrel and a mutt. I hate when someone call himself human without posting scan of his grand-gradnpa's birth certificate.
