Okay /an/ need advice asap. A few days ago my dog threw up phlegm, thought it was normal, she has a nervous stomach and sometimes does that when it storms. Last night I woke up with her shitting diarrhea all over the floor. She was wagging her tail and seemed fine, but until the day she was kind of sluggish. I was also raining, and she hates rain, so I don't know if that was the reason.

Right now, I just woke up (forgive typos lololo) and she has blood in her stool. There are no emergency vets around here. She's caught up on her pills. Halp. (of course I have like twenty other tabs open looking for answers, but I just want input fuck I'm so tired)

pic related, not her, but close

Forgot to add - she is NOT caught up on her yearly vaccinations, though. Her appointment is actually on Friday this week. Obviously, I'm going to take her in as soon as possible in the morning. The nearest vet hospital doesn't open until 6. and yes, the blood is bright red. She's been having a fine appetite and is drinking plenty, but still seems a little sluggish. She doesn't chew on hard objects that would cut her intestines that I know of.

does what she threw up look white and foamy?

Are you sure there's no emergency vets? Think of where the nearest big city is, there ought to be one.

OP here. I wound up making a pallet on the kitchen floor (where I was keeping her so I wouldn't have trouble cleaning up messes) and fell asleep. It's 7am now, but I was able to contact my normal vet and get an appointment for 10:30am today. She's sleeping right now, so I think she'll last until then.

All the other sources I've looked up in the meantime are just "CANCER CANCER CANCER CANCER! or maybe it might just be a little infection! BUT DON'T FORGET CANCER FUCKFACE." Baw.

Like I said, it was phlegm-y the day before yesterday, and now it's phlegm-y with chunks that look like her food.

Regardless of how big the population is, I think there should be one in every bumfuck town, but checking the phonebook, nope.

How old is she?

Four. ;_;

Been to the vet, she gave me some antibiotics and told me to give her pepcid twice a day for colitis. She had a slight fever, but wasn't tender anyway in her abdomen so things are looking up. She refuses to eat her dog food, but ate some scrambled egg I gave her. Hopefully that will keep her stomach calm enough to make it through the night so I don't wake up with her trying to reenact 2girls1cup again.

The vet is sure it's not parvo? I had gotten a puppy from the pound once who showed all those symptoms..and lost him a week laterT_T I hope your pup is all right~

Feed her raw hamburger. They rec it for parvo recovery and a multitude of other similiar stomach ailments.
Excess internal parasites will do that too. Over the counter wormer and basic vet wormer doesn't kill most parasites. My pup died from a tapeworm infestation (3-days after I bought him) because the damned vet didn't do a basic stool sample. Same symptoms as your dog (and parvo) too.

She was so good last night I don't think I have to sleep in the kitchen anymore. She hasn't shit since yesterday, but her eggs from dinner stayed down fine and she ate her dog food this morning.

The vet did give me a pamphlet of emergency vets in the area. The closest one is about an hour away (thus it wasn't in the phone book for our area) and is open all night, but closed during the day. If there are further problems with her in the middle of the night, I know where to go now.

My dog is a purebred straight from the breeder (in b4 fucking inbreds, get a mutt) and hasn't been in contact with any animal that looked sick. Her temperature was 102.9 (average is 101~102.5 IIRC) so the vet said it was nothing to worry about, and was probably due to the excitement of meeting new people at the vet. She never once mentioned parvo, I actually had to google it to find out what it was.

No troll. You googled parvo and didn't come acrossed the raw hamburger bit? About every site I came acrossed with parvo told me raw hamburger. Supposed to be easier on their stomach because of the lack of preservatives and shit. I questioned it too...*shrugs*
My pup (actually it started out two, but one died thanksgiving early morning.) did the same as your dog. Started out mucusy diarrhea, at night it turned to blood and vomitting. Vet told us it was nothing to worry about. Our emergency vet was on vacation. First pup died. Spent the next two days (hurray thanksgiving vacation) shoving Pepto down his throat every four hours and gatorade and soup broth every time he vomitted. Got him to the vet on Friday. He had a heavy infestation of tapeworms. Worming him with regular wormer caused parastalis (sp?) caused the tapes to come off the stomach wall and leave tons of tiny holes Hence the blood and anemia. Vet told us he was a gonner, we took him home. I continued the pepto gatorade treatment putting food in front of him.
Turkey seemed to work too. I had to thaw the hamburger, it was thanksgiving, so I gave my pup some of the to keep him over. He turned a year in Sept. Healthy and hyper as hell.
