Plant identification Anonymous
I found this on a walk through my university's nature preserve and thought it looked cool, but I have no idea what it is.

It's from a single, thorny stalk about 2-3 feet high with thin, paired, and spined leaves. Unlike a bull thistle, this has only one flower (I'm assuming) at the top. The seed pod is conical and about 1-1.5 inches in length. The seeds themselves are in a pile underneath the head.
