1. They're endangered
2. They're wild animals
3. They're endangered

They're not going to give an endangered animal to a moron like you.

well I suppose if you got a big yard, fenced it off and filed the paper work you could try to qualify as a sanctuary

1. Move to Japan, where there seem to be no (very reasonable) laws about having wild/endangered animals as pets.

2. Victory!

This is why you can't keep Red Pandas as pets.

Red pandas are the only mustelids that can't be kept as pets.

Do they count as mustelids?
>> Anonymous
>>183235
Well, they're Musteloidea, but they're not Mustelidae, so they're close relatives of mustelids, but aren't proper mustelids as such.
>> Anonymous
Well, they're endangered, but what makes it REALLY difficult is that they only eat bamboo. That's why they're called pandas even though they're more closely related to raccoons. So if you have an unlimited supply of bamboo (they eat a lot, I used to work at a zoo), go for it.

You're thinking of giant pandas!
>> Anonymous

Disregard that, I suck cocks. Their diet is mostly bamboo.
Also:
>>The Red Panda is also sometimes known in Chinese as h?o hú (??), which literally translates as "fire fox", a name which can designate either the Red Fox or the Red Panda.
Does this mean that red pandas have memory leaks and large footprints?

Save the pandas!

It's terrible! All the red pandas are becoming Reddish Pandas!
>> Anonymous
>>183235
No! They are canids!

I mean ursids!

I mean... what are they, really?
>> Anonymous
They're part of the sub-order of dog-like predators with snouts and non-retractable claws.
They're very distant cousins of skunks, raccoon-like animals, and weasel-like animals. However their only "cousins" species-wise have been extinct for millions of years.
