Hey /an/, who would win in a fight between a lion and a tiger?
>> Anonymous
Tiger. Definitely.
>> Anonymous
The lion has more fighting experience. It has to fight other lions for dominance over the pride while tigers normally only fight their prey which can't usually put up much of a fight.

One word for you.

Paws.

The huge paws. I don't think a lion would like a whack to the head with these.

Tigers are just so fucking cool.

A lion's mane would protect it.

There is actually experimental evidence thanks to certain nutcas...Koreans. Bengal tigers will emerge triumphant in most fights against lions, while Amur tigers are usually unwilling to fight at all (not that they willingly take a beating, they just won't attack the lion if the lion doesn't attack them, so it's hard to get a good fight going).

This is interesting because lions should actually have an advantage, since the males have a mane that protects the head and neck, and their front quarters are very robust, built for fighting. Then again, Bengal tigers tend to be larger than most lions (Amur tigers being even larger).

lions fight in groups, and group tactics don't work when there's only one lion. A single lion against the normally-solitary tiger puts the tiger at an advantage from the start.

Also male lions don't really do a shit. Sure, dominance fights, but that's different.

ITT we insult lions. I'd like to see any of you guys take one on and still think they suck.

I used to argue about this with some kid in highschool. So much we stopped talking to each other.

My vote was for tigers and he was a wigger shit anyway.

Liger would win

You have obviously never seen a documentary on tigers. Male tigers fight one another (and also females with unrelated offspring) for territorial rights constantly, as often as lions do. In fact, conflicts can be very brutal, with the weaker or less aggressive animal being killed.

My vote definitely goes for the larger, stronger, and infinitely superior tiger.

I think on a male vs male basis, tigers would win because male lions do jack shit.

I'd say it's about equal if it's female to female though.

sauce on these nutcase Koreans?

>>200686
You're disgustingly retarded.

Lions fight in packs.
Tigers fight alone for their territory.
Therefore, tigers fight more.

Protect it against 6 inch fangs?
No.

>>200600
Good thing this thread isn't about humans vs lions you moron.

>>200613
Ligers are fat, and a large percent of them have warped bones due to the fact that they're genetic accidents.

>>200686

Most animal bodies are optimized for a certain amount of mass. For example, a healthy human male should be 150-250 pounds. Humans bigger than that will lose too much agility and get schooled by smaller fighters:

I got the feeling that a tiger versus liger fight will end up with the tiger biting the back of the liger's neck while the liger helplessly spins around.

<1> “This observation was confirmed more recently in the 1950 by a keeper in the Bronx Zoo, where a lion cub named Zambezi and a young tiger named Ranee were raised together. There occasional fights always resulted in a victory for the tiger.
