About a month ago (the price was still 60), I go over to the tortoise enclosure, see only two males, and get disappointed. The lady working with the tortoises told me that there were three in the back that were taken off the floor due to illness during shipping, and that she didn't know how to sex them, so she told me to call tomorrow because the lady that was taking care of them would be working. I call the store and find out one of them is female, and that she was going to get some shots and some antibiotics on Thursday, then three weeks from that Thursday they would be available for sale. I called on a Monday, so it was basically a month wait.
Well, yesterday was the day she was put on the floor, and I saw her, she was definitely a female, and she definitely had some dry shell rot marks on her shell, but nothing serious enough to discourage me from purchasing her and isolating her for a while from the other two. I check the price, and lo and behold, it's $99. I was pretty pissed. I can understand it was a sale, but seriously? I was going to buy that tortoise a month ago if it hadn't been for their fault in making the thing sick in the first place. I'm wondering, do I have a strong enough case to convince a manager to give me sale price, or should I just forget it? If I do have a case, what would be the best way of going about convincing them to sell it to me for sale price?
