Can /an/ help me identify a dog breed from only a text description? I couldn't for the life of me find an image of one online (because I don't know the name, durp.) So pic is NOT very related (Great Pyrenees dog.) The dog I'm thinking of did look something like a Pyrenees, actually; it was quite large (probably around three feet tall at the head) and powerfully built, with a thick medium-length white coat. The most distinctive thing about the dog was that its ears were cropped so completely that it had virtually no (visible) external ears. I'm not sure, but I think that sort of cropping is typical for dogs of this breed.

tl;dr summary: big white dog with no ears, what is it?

Kuvaz! This one's not cropped but i think they often are, especially if they're used for guarding livestock.

Central Asian Ovcharka, sounds like

Both the CAO and the CO (Caucasian Ovcharka, aka Caucasian Mountain Dog) have their ears extremely short. This is a pic of a CO, and CAO are generally leaner.

I also think that this is Abruzzese Maremma sheepdog (or simply Maremma)
other names: Maremmen-Abruzzen/Cane De Pastore Maremmano/Pastore Abruzzese.

After checking out the breeds posted, I'm fairly sure it's the Central Asian Ovcharka. Thank you, Anons.
