sup /an/

My rat, Toejam, just succumbed to an esophageal tumor and has joined his friend Big Earl in the landfill in the sky (somwhere downtown, actually). His cage was in a state of disrepair so I tossed the damn thing. I'd like to get another pet but I'm not sure if I'd like another rat or maybe a different animal.

So I ask you: what would be a small, low-maintenance animal that would be interesting to own but not require too much attention? I don't think a snake would be good, mostly due to the expense of equipment and the difficulty of maintaining the right environment for it. Any suggestions?

Crested Geckos are the most insanely easy pets on the face of the earth, besides a pet rock. They require no heatlamps, no special lighting, they eat fruit baby food and Crested Gecko food. Put them in a tall tank with some vines and stuff to crawl on... feed them every other day or so, mist them every once in a while.... that's it. You don't even have to clean the tank very often. They're awesome.

bumping for more advice

Are emperor scorpions pretty easy to take care of? Or millipedes? How big do those crested geckos get? Do they scare easy?

Can I hold them all the time? Will they hang out with me and be adorable?
