For some unknown reason Polar bears think huskies are the most adorable litte things but eat baby seals and even cubs of other polar bears. Nature is not weirder than we suppose but weirder than we can suppose.

Species that become too specialized for one habitat and no longer have the ability to adapt and are stuck on hunting only a few things sadly die out. It's happening now and probably would of happened regardless. It is sad but true, try to enjoy them while they are around and realize that pretty much every species around today was not here 100,000 years ago. Natural course, not just survival of the fittest but survival of the adaptable.

People who think global warming is a myth live in countries that are not yet affected by it. It's simply that reality hasn't hit them the way it's hit the poor bastards that are affected now. Don't worry about it. The idiots will learn. The hard way. Until then, just ignore them.

Only Americans think like that.
No party or party official in Europe has ever claimed otherwise, not even china has claimed otherwise, it's just that china and india believe that they are doing ok considering their carbon emissions per person. They are only barely hurting the environment more than the US, and india is slightly behind, but china also has 5 times more population.

I guess perhaps African or Middle east governments or political parties may have claimed that global warming is not man made. And Americans.

I apologize to the civilized countries for America. For whatever reason, we're a breeding ground for crazies. We have global warming deniers, holocaust deniers, evolution deniers. Fuck, there are still people who believe the earth is flat over here.

Actually, there are people who refute global warming all over the world. In my country the overwhelming opinion was that global warming was a piece of rubbish. Then we were hit by successive droughts, intermittant floods and generally wierd weather and suddenly everyone became believers. The worst part is that our climate is naturally unstable and the above can be explained as natural fluctuation as opposed to global warming. Global warming was not accepted as fact due to evidence, but due to inconveniance. Sad but true.

The Earth IS warming up. Very few scientists will dispute that fact.

But lots of scientists will argue about whether it's caused by humans (deforestation + pollution) or if it's part of the natural climate cycle.

the story behind this picture is that polar bears will eat your dog so we better hurry and speed up global warming so that we can eradicate those bastards faster.

cutest story ever. I love seeing predators play with eachother.

Annnyways, about the global warming:
It's not most scientists, EVERY scientist can agree that it is happening.
Yes, the dispute is whether or not it's because of us, or it's natural, but there's a lot that we don't know, a lot that you can learn from astronomy.
The truth is, this warming is a natural process that the earth goes through. no matter what it would happen, but the problem is that it's happening ten times faster than it should, and scientists KNOW it's because of the shitload of carbons in the atmosphere, but they still want to argue if we are to blame.

Heres something to think about:
Our moon controls every aspect of our weather. It controls the tides, the jet streams, the seasons even. Our moon has always had a perfect gravitational pull on our planet, which has kept things rather balanced during our span on earth.
HOWEVER, every year our moon moves more than an inch away, and it's moved so far at this point that it's gravitational pull is weakening, which is throwing our weather patterns for a loop and causing a lot of weird shit, such as the hurricanes and tsunami's from hell. Our earth isn't on a perfect tilt anymore, either. It's been moved, ever so slightly, to a different degree, and that has caused different warming and cooling patterns on top of the natural process is already does. In the next 12 years, our moon will have moved a foot away, just as it did 12 years ago. Only now that it's so far out, that will have a very bad impact.

SOO, Global Warming is a natural and innevetable process that would have happen with or without us, but with us it's been sped up.

There really is no arguing to it. Scientists just don't want to point fingers since we're supposed to be the higher intelligence and god forbid we have fucked our own planet up.

Some million years ago, the moon was actually 15 times closer than it is now.

If you looked at the sky in the night, you saw mostly a huge moon and barely any sky/space/stars behind it. It covered most of the view.

Not to spoil the whole moon theory, but if the world was supposed to change climate everytime the moon moved a few inches (global warming has been recorded for the past 60 years) then the climate would have changed and we would have become extinct many thousand years ago.

When I was a kid we'd often spend the entire day at the beach with no problems, last year I was under an umbrella but my foot was out in the sun for a few hours and I didn't notice. When I tried to get up I noticed that not only it was burned but I also ended up unable to walk for a week.
>> Anonymous
What if the sun's just getting hotter?

Hillary Clinton and a bunch of other crooks have been talking for a while about setting up a carbon tax as an excuse to combat this global warming that we've all supposedly caused in the past 50 years that's irreversably ruined the planet. I honestly think 90% of the media coverage of whatever is actually happening is severely exhaterated to the point of scaring everyone into thinking they need to pay someone to protect them from the fucking air they breathe.
I've seen studies showing that the moons of several other planets in our own solar system are melting. Now is that due to uneducated aliens burning up too much of the alien dinasaur fossil fuel? Or maybe the fucking source of all the heat is increasing in output just like 99.99999% of the other stars out there have done?
>> Anonymous
>>296834
It's not that the climate changes with a few inches, it's a change every couple of feet or so. But I understand your point.

>>296884
The sun is actually cooling off. It's already gone through it's hottest cycle and is now on the fall of becoming a dwarf star, which cool down considerably, and eventually Earth won't be able to sustain life at all.
>> Anonymous
>>296888
Main Sequence stars actually get brighter when they're about to become white dwarfs. However, the sun has half its lifetime left (5 billion years); it is nowhere close to dwarf stage. Stars like the sun do actually get brighter as they age, but before they become dwarfs.
>> Anonymous
A 50-100 year fluctuation in Sol's temperature (enough to raise/lower Earth's temperature a few degrees) is tiny when you consider a lifespan in the billions of years and can happen regardless of warming/cooling phases.
>> Anonymous
Wow, so many of you miss the point of the thread. The polar bear is hugging the dog because, obviously, they go way back. This is their first meeting in years, and they're happy to see each other again. After the pic was taken then went to Starbucks and caught up over a latte. They're currently talking about opening a sports bar together in San Francisco, but that's just on the back burner for now.
