I don't think I've ever heard a corgi bark.

But I've only known super well-behaved barn corgis.

Man I've wanted a corgi ever since I saw Cowboy Bebop, and saw a friends Corgi irl. I've never had a pureblood dog before, I've only adopted from shelters etc. Do Corgi's have any common health problems, like labradors and german shepards?

Hip problems mainly, if I remember right. Our corgi has problems with his back legs a bit.

>>292825

yeah, but that could be from too much stairs in your house. Corgies are mostly free of any racial deseases, only problem what usually hits small dogs are back problems due to walking stairs.

Come to think of it I've never heard a corgi bark either.

Do they have an annoying yip or a manly bark?
>> Anonymous
>>293079

they have a pretty normal bark, but they can get it up to an ear-shattering level. mine also grunts alot.

Does incessant barking become a problem or are they pretty quiet?
>> Anonymous
>>293102

he's usually pretty quiet, only barks when he's playing and gets really worked up.

My cardigans bark like big dogs-- they are excellent watchdogs.

Yes, they shed like crazy, 24/7/365. If you do not like dog hair, do not get a corgi.

Like all short legged dogs, they are subject to back trouble, slipped discs and the like. You can help prevent this by keeping your dog healthy and fit and not overweight but even so it still can happen.

I've had it happen once; my dog recovered completely after surgery and 3 months crate rest, but it was a traumatic time and very expensive.

Worth it, though. Cardigan corgi ftw.

I've been toying with getting a Pembroke. Any of you have experience with them?

this man is right, i have a black tricolor pembroke(i think he must be a fluffy variety since his fur is so long) he sheds like my old cat which is alot. and he is very long. very very long. he runs into things and such, theyre very clownish

Do corgis make good apartment dogs? And do they get along with other animals (like cats and other breeds of dog).

Mine makes the grunting sounds too, we call her monkey-dog when she does it.
