RIP Steve. Most people knew you as "the crazy crocodile guy," but behind the television persona you were a real conservationist. You had published scientific papers to your name, your foundation was responsible for funding tons of research, and you worked to educate others through sincere enthusiasm.

All hail St. Steve of /an/.

Crikey, I miss that crazy dude.

He was and still is a great man.

Steve Irwin was not just a great conservationist and educator, but he was also great person who loved and had great enthusiasm for life.
>> Anonymous
His death was a shame, he died doing what he loved. He was a great naturalist.. Now we're stuck with that douche Jeff Corwin.

:(

I was in love with this man as a little girl. I can remember staying up all night watching his show, wanting to grow up an marry him and join him on his wacky adventures. Then one day I realized that the dowdy American woman was his wife. My eleven year old heart broke that day, and again when he died years later.
>> Anonymous
He was a psycho, but he was a good psycho. I miss him. I remember seeing his death posted on 4chan and thinking it was a joke per /b/, but then I discovered he actually did die and felt so awful.

Since Steve is gone, this is the last great guy remaining.

...on the other hand, he's 82, nature will sooner or later catch up to him :/

As an animal lover, Steve Irwin was The Real Deal.

PETA is a joke compared to him, not even fit to lick shit out of his asshole.

My ass. Attenborough's still fucking flying the shit out of the world and enthusiastically gesticulating towards ant hills like he's been doing for his 82 years. Nothing's going to stop him. He's a nature documentary juggernaught.

If nature takes him down, he'll go down fighting 30 years from now at the least.

>>330264

you got a pic of him and live traced it in illustrator. redrew it and hand painted the live trace.

This guy, along with Steve, is my hero.
I want to be the next David Attenborough.

>>330419

close. threw a filter on the picture using photoshop. then by looking at the picture, drew it onto the canvas and proceeded to paint it in. yeah, easy, but effective.

He's truly missed. He was a hero.

I, too, was one of his 11 year old fangirls that wanted to marry him and live the perfect life in a world full of saving animals and educating people about them. Years later, he still remained my idol. I loved it when he was single, and even though Terri pissed me off, it was nice to see him able to love her as well, and then to have kids!
Everyone pretty much watched Steve grow up on TV. He's been around since a kid, when his parents owned the zoo. We watched the birth of his career, and then sadly, we saw the death of it. (although carried on by Terri and Bindi.)
The day I heard of his death, I bawled. I couldn't believe this wonderful man who brought so much joy to the world was gone by such a freak accident. My mind simply could not compute Steve Irwin didn't exist anymore.
But Steve... he died doing what he loved. He died while filming something to educate us. He died in the name of what he lived for. Although he always said if he was going to die, it would be by a crocodile and his last words would be "Crikey!"
RIP, Steve. The world loved you dearly.

As much as I want to know how the fuck you managed to get stabbed in the chest by a stingray, I hope the video is never leaked, out of respect for you and your family.

G'night, mate.

That was a lie. He was assasinated by PETA for tortuning their crocodiles.
Btw, another greeting from /b/

my mum was mates with steve, he used to take me on special tours around the zoo when i was like 9-10, he was a cool guy, even remembered my name when i randomly saw him 4 years later.

i hate that stupid ass daughter of his. she is a fucking bitch.

I remember I watched Steve in "10 Deadliest Snakes in the World" and then the next day at work me and my co-worker talked about Steve all day, saying how cool he was.
>> Anonymous
One of my favorite people. I had always dreamed of going to his zoo and watching him feed the crocs, but alas, it'll never happen. I cried so much when they showed that funeral service on Animal Planet, and for a time I couldn't bear to watch the shows. We'll miss you and love you always, Steve Irwin.

I read Terry Irwin's book, "Steve and I" or "Steve and me" or something along those lines - I'm sure it's been edited and stuffed full of her point of view and everything, but I can honestly say that Steve Irwin had so much love for the world and everything in it that it's humbling.

In all honesty, he died doing something that he loves and that makes me glad. He never had stunt doubles, he never seemed to hurt the animals he worked with and it was a blast watching him get fired up and giggly about something like a kid at christmas.

I hope that his legend continues forever and his education for wildlife handling and conservation will always be remembered and practiced.

hahaha, you know it's true.

I liked the guy but he did harass animals too much. Running around tackling kangaroos and shit. The animals must not like.
>> Anonymous
>>333104

He tackled 'roos?? Holy shit that only makes him more awesome if anything.
>> Anonymous
He died doing what he loved to do.

He's a man among men.
>> Anonymous
What a faggot, I just wish the sting-ray had raped him first.
>> th doumb ass Anonymous
he was a bloody doumb ass if he new shit he would hav nown not 2 swim over the ray as it thought he was a shark he would aalso hav killed many a roo through stress so he deserved it
>> Anonymous
LOL if you think he was a great man, your really gullable. He knew shit all about animals, He always read a script / Memorised facts, He would be twith trained animals, and would be trained with how to deal with them before filming

When he was stabbed through the abdomen with the sting ray's stinger, He instantly removed it, And died on the emergancy trip back to shore.

Yet in the same week, a surfer got stung in the abdomen, Around the same area (note, niether of them got stung in a vital organ). He didn't remove his, and he is still alive today.

If you ask any sting ray expert " If i was to get stung by a sting ray, Do i remove the barb?", They'ld say no. Go ahead, ask them.
>> Anonymous
>>334009
...he got hit in the fucking heart.

That's the whole reason he died. Stingrays aren't dangerous, they won't kill you very easily.
Unless, y'know. They hit your heart. Which is sort of a vital fucking organ.
>> Anonymous
>>334013
I think my penis is my vital fucking organ.
>> Anonymous
>>334009
>>334005
Yeah, say that after you wrestle about a hundred crocodiles, kangaroos and capture a few dozen poisonous and dangerous snakes. Oh sure, it was bound to catch up to him, and he was incredibly unlucky with the Stingray. In the heart, the one place it could kill him.. But you can't argue that he did more awesome in a year than you fags will in your entire lives.
>> Anonymous
Doesn't matter if it was rehearsed or whether he didn't know shit about animals - his shows kept the audience interested - they would see animals they would never get to see in their own lives, and gave a lot of people an appreciation for animals they never would have knew they liked.
>> Anonymous
>>334009

>If you ask any sting ray expert

brb, finding sting ray expert
>> Anonymous
>>334013
This. It's really rare (mostly because the part of a person that touches a ray and gets struck is almost always the legs), but iirc he wasn't the first person it's happened to.

Steve Irwin was one of the greatest men to ever walk the planet
>> Anonymous
One of the greatest people to live. Ever.
>> Anonymous
Sorry to say but he did bring it on himself

The guy was a fucking lunatic

Still, great man
>> Anonymous
As much as I did love the guy, his death was his own fault.

He was to harsh in handling animals that he was not familiar with

Still, it was a terrible loss.
>> Anonymous
actually most people who have worked with him always say how amazed they are that he is so wonderful with the animals he handles. He may seem weird, but he knows exactly what they are doing and what they could do to him. The reason he died was because a cameraman went too close to the stingray and scared it.

Steve Irwin is awesome.
>> Anonymous
>>336644
I'd say it was because he jumped at the stingray and startled it.
