I was wondering what the fuck these were. I was at work cleaning a hamster cage when one came flying out from under a shelf. I've never felt compelled to step on a bug, not even a spider, but this thing was huge and so alien to me I kind of gave into instinct and tried to crush it. I only managed to chop off the very back end of it with my heel, and the different legs were still crawling around independently after the bug ran off and hid. I wouldn't have minded if the legs twitched, but the separated part of the body was crawling around like a brand new bug.
Now that I'm educated, I can hopefully contain the urge to KILL IT when I see one again.
