My chameleon's eye is about to pop, what do I do?
It happened pretty much overnight :(It's probably from him sticking his whole damn face in his water, which I try my best to keep clean, but he likes to crap in it for some reason.
>>298170SHALLOW DISH, MOTHERFUCKER, DO YOU USE IT?
>>298170haha what a dumbass
>>298174yeah, dumbass lizard deserves it.
>>298151Take him to the vet instead of staying here. Not all vets are knowledgeable in reptiles, but I can assure you any of them know one that is, and they could diagnose it, at least.
throw a dart at it
goddammit OP >:(
umm....get rid of the water dish, stick to a misting system. Chameleons are notorious for drowning in shallow water.
"Eye irritations may sometimes develop overnight from contaminants in water used for misting or from rubbing their eyes on cage foliage or branches. If this happens the veiled chameleons eye may partially close or appear swollen. In this case you may purchase a product from your local pharmacy called Refresh Tears. Use two drops in each eye. Irritations usually clear up overnight."There you go OP, googled it for you.
>>298197... however, in this case, the problem has been festering for days, and has progressed beyond OTC eyedrops. If the infection hasn't already destroyed the eye, it will do so in a matter of hours. Veterinary care is needed NOW.
>>298203OP said it happened overnight, assface
>>298241having owned chameleons for 15 years, I can safely say that the OP is full of shit. He may have neglected his cham for days and just noticed it this morning, but that severe of a swelling is NOT just an overnight thing. Assface.
I feel sorry for you OP, I would hate for something like this to happen to me.
>>298244Luckily it didn't happen to me, but the lizard. But I have really tried to take good care of this guy which is why it makes me very :(((( to see him like this.
>>298266is he at the vet clinic yet?
