Fish help Anonymous
I've been wanting to get some red parrot cichlids for a while now. I'm in the last stages of setting up an aquarium for them. I only need the heater, some food and the fish. I'm planning on getting two.

Should I get food in addition to cichlid pellets? I've seen them eat guppies

Also, I was wondering what other fish I could put with them. My ideas were a common pleco and an elephant nose fish.
If you could suggest some other interesting fish that would be great! Are there any loaches that wouldn't be bothered by the cichlids?

tldr: Please suggest food and other fish for a 29gal tank with two red parrot cichlids.

read this.

29 gal tank is too small in my opinion.
Consider that they will grow up to 10 inches.

Living food is always a good idea, but expensive.

Everybody knows that the awesomeness of a fish increases directly in proportion to how ugly it is.
