Fossil evidence of severe wounds on Trikes suggests otherwise. Triceratops had the horns, but it wasn't exactly nimble. All a T.rex had to do was dance around the head and get to the flanks and the Trike's about screwed, and new evaluation of T.rex leg structure indicates it was more than capable of doing so.
Not to counter a "lol Trike > Rex" with a "lol Rex > Trike," but it's seriously selling T.rex short to say that one couldn't take on one of the prey items it was explicitly adapted to hunt. it wouldn't have been an easy kill for the Rex to make, but it was one it was certainly readily capable of doing.
