'sup /an/,

I caught a black widow earlier and I was curious if anyone here had any tips for raising them? I don't know if I will actually get around to it, but depending on how demanding they are, I probably will.
Do you suppose a local pet store might have a cage or tank that could safely hold black widows and any possible baby widows they would have, or would I have to special order/make something like that?

I used to have a black widow spider as a pet.

You can just get a plastic Kritter Keeper at your local pet store and keep one in it. I fed mine small crickets.

Why would you want to breed them? Silly idea, if you ask me.

Yeah, only if he weighs less that 30 pounds. Widow venom will only cause painful muscle spasms (especially in the abdominal area) and general not-feeling-goodness in most adult-sized humans. Granted, you can still die from it, but it is very unlikely.

Sounds like a fun time to me without the death...No seriously, the idea of keeping one of the most venomous spiders in the world nearby just seems foolish.

I had one a while back to...
but I used a little glass case to keep it in...
also fed it pin-head crickets...
over all it was a pretty enjoyable pet (as far as spiders go), to me they seem fairly docile unless you piss'em off...
but hopefully your not quite that retarded...
