Which pet? Kima
Okay, im a college student living away from home and im dying to get a pet...but unfortunately i cannot afford a dog. Also, i am allergic to cat scratches and i dont like de-clawing...so i ask you. What type of pet should i get?
I would prefer a mammal so i can actually tell the animal has emotion...and my roommates would kill any type of bird i brought home. Rats might be okay, but i dont want any vermin that are going to be bitey stinky.

In return i give you a picure of my sheltand sheepdog at my mom's house. She's a runt, and her ears dont fold down.

I'd say rats. They are pretty sheap to keep and they don't stink too much if you clean their cage often enough. I don't know what mammal wouldn't have some smell, but usually it's more about cleaning. Rats are also loads of fun, because they are really smart.
I had two of them and they were awsome. The other one really lided to sleep in my sleeve when I watched tv.

Just bring the sheltie and let her herd your roommates.

FERRRRET

How about a Guinea pig. They're very talkative..

and I second a ferret
>> Kima
i heard ferrets are bitey.

Maybe ill go pick up an asian girl at walmarts... that seems to be the ultimate solution.

Well... Maybe you shouldn't get a "live" mammal.

You only pay a taxidermist once- and you can customize the face to express it any way you want.
they don't eat
they don't need to use the bathroom
they don't care about perfumes

just a little soft dusting once in a while to make them look to your appeal is all they need...

And leeme tell ya- There is no such thing as a free asian girlfriend...

Can taxidermists make asian girlfriends?

Go with a pair of rats. Way less smelly than ferrets, not bitey at all unless you abuse them. Ridiculously smart and social.

I heard ferrets need to run around constantly so you basically have them run around the house like a dog/cat, except they chew on anything and make a huge mess (and get mean when you fuck with em).
Is this true? Cause I might consider getting one if the whole "I can chew through your internet wire if I damn well want to!" attitude is fake or can be fixed.
Not OP, btw

It's true. Ferrets are not cage animals, but rather than chewing through your wires it will probably dig out your flower pots, try and climb into your sewers through the grate and run around like mad. pretty cute, but you'll have to secure the house.

Rats dude. They\'re not like in the cartoons, grow up. My rats have never bit me, my brothers mini-hamster bit me every time I got near. Rats are awesome. Get at least two or they will get very lonely.

Gerbils or rats

Don't get a ferret unless you are prepared for the costs and responsibility equal to owning a dog. Ferrets need to be trained to use a litter box, trained not to nip, and given vaccines. They are also prone to injuring themselves (leaping off book shelves, etc) and thus you need the extra cash and ability to drive to an emergency vet, as well as a regular vet.

Get a fuzzy wuzzy bunny. They're soft, quiet and easy to care for.

The hamster probably bit you because your hands smelled like rats.

Rats are super sweets! I used to have 11, they're soooo cute! Clean the cage regulary and they won't stink, I prefer males, all they do is eating and sleeping, much ore calm than females XD

SNAKES!!! snakes when you buy them young change emotionally and even thought they dont have eyelids they can be just as cute ; ;, i love my two snakes, they have different personalities, you feed them once a week and they are easy to maintain, i would recomend reptiles to a lot of people, so many people dont chose reptiles ; ; in my experience iguanas and turtles are difficult to maintian, but like a corn snake or something that doesnt grow too large sounds like a good thing ; ; and you can keep them tucked away on a little table in their cage, and for me i built it into a terrarium :D but that is for if you really know what you are doing :x lizards are cool too
i think reptiles come in more cool colors too ;x
even though they arnt mammals :x
