My dog gets those damn things all the time.
Usually, I just make sure he stays still and pull them out with tweezers. Worse comes to worse, they'll either come off over time (possibly by the dog itself, rubbing against something) or it'll lick and chew them out on its own. Either way, it'll get them off. They're not serious, as far as I know, but they're a pain to dogs and humans alike. Hope that helps.
