What does /an/ think of The Future is Wild?
>> Anonymous
ehhh... 5/10. i'd rather watch a documentary about awesome real animals than peoples' best guesses about the future.

The two things that really killed it for me:

1) Trying to give it a plot. Or whatever they were trying to do with the spy satellite.

2) The godawful names for the animals. Binomial nomenclature is used for a reason. It's like watching a show about dinosaurs but they're using the names "Giantjaw" and "Spikeyback."

The giant squid bear and the squid monkeys made me lol.

What I got mostly out of this: SQUIDS ARE TAKING OVER.

I remember watching this and hating it, though I don't really remember why.
Also, you really can't tell what life will be like in the far future. It may as well have been called "shitty animals we made up." The same can be applied to that mockumentary about alien life.

Though I guess I'm a hypocrite since I enjoyed "Dragons: A Fantasy Made Real" and also the mockumentaries about dinosaurs, but at least we know dinos existed, and "Dragons..." was impressively well thought-out.

Well, it was obviously made up. They just didn't know which direction they wanted to go in. I wish some of the animals didn't look so impractical and ridiculous. I'm talking about the monster cephalopods.
