OMG Comfy-Kun !i2InmLMgFY
A couple days ago my cat got some kind of bite marks on her and I didn't think much of it.

Tonight I got home and saw this.

Do you think this is just from her licking it or do you think it could have been caused by bacteria or anything of that sort?

Either way she's going to the vet tomorrow, but any information you can give would ease my mind...even if it's bad.

Also, is there anything I should do to it? Clean it? Put anything on it?

disinfectant, rubbing alchohol or something. The cat will prob freak out though.

also dab the excess away so she doesn't lick it off

I just looked and I don't have any rubbing alcohol. Closest thing I have is some vodka [which I am drinking beacsue I am worried]

Do you think she will be okay until tomorrow? The wound has been there for like 3 days, but it hasn't been this bad for more than a few hours.

My cat had something similar from what we assumed was a possum bite, but it was a lot worse than that. He was okay after we took him to the vet, they gave us some medecine for it and he healed up just fine. Your cat should probably be okay until tomorrow, but I would take him to the vet as soon as you can.

Should be fine. Don't put anything on it just yet, the cat will just lick it off and aggravate the problem.

You can make one of those anti-lick cone-collars out of light card, its just a big arc of paper with a few tabs to hold it together, it just has to be the right size.
To be honest, so long as you get her to the vets tomoro, all should be well, but this might stop her making it any worse in the meantime.

itll be fine. its not that big of a prob, just a scab she keeps picking

Went to the vet and he thinks it's just an infection from the origional bite. He's going to clean away the dead skin and drain the wound...and he'll stick one of them collar things on her.

Got her home and she seems fin. She has a few stitches, but they don't bother her much.

Thing is that after a couple hours of her thrashing about with that cone on her head I took it off. I was worried she might urt her neck. Do you think that'll be a problem?

No, that cat won't really hurt itself with the collar on.

Because of how the collar is, their whiskers are trapped inside the cone with the face, giving them a very small area to "sense". Since whiskers do play a role in moving around for day-to-day life, it becomes a matter of the cat not relying on that particular sensation.

The collar does more good than harm, as long as it's not too tight or too loose. The collar does need to be on, so the cat cannot clean the wound itself - their mouthes are filthy, and infection can result rather easily.

tl;dr: Put the collar back on.
