I think 173336 calls the cat "Jewcat" because of the big nose. But he is wrong!
<--- THIS is Jewcat!
Therefore, I like to refer to "Fishing Cat" as "Atheist Cat."

fishing cat is a god unto himself. thus, he cannot be a jew cat for that would mean acknowledging a god other than himself. and fishing cat has little care for entertaining such faggotry. therefore he will merely triangulate the positions of the faggots asserting such faggotry.

This particular cat came from a Zoo, and was taken in by a couple in Russia.

Fishing cats are wild animals. Keeping one at home would require a huge amount of effort and patience. I mean HUGE.

Getting one in the first place will be nearly impossible, thanks to CITES and all that.

Once you've got one you will probably need special insurance since they are wild animals. You also need access to a vet who will work with wild animals.

Again, since they're wild, you need to be prepared to deal with wild cat behavior...which includes them attacking basically anything that moves, spraying urine everywhere, rarely (if ever) using a litterbox, and generally tearing things up. Oh, and they probably can't eat cat food either, so you'll need to feed them meat daily.

I suggest you read this link:

http://www.bigcatrescue.org/hybrids.htm

...and keep in mind that Fishing Cats are 100% wild. They are going to be worse about biting, spraying, etc, than any of the hybrids are.

I'm not against people owning wild animals as pets. But I DO think that people need to know what they're getting in to!

I don't really think any cat is fully domesticated. I've even had cats who spray.

It has a lot to do with the way the animal is brought up; with a wild (or less domesticated) creature such as a fishing cat you'd have to take extra care while it's growing up to teach it what is acceptable behavior (the same's true of any animal; I would say people are more used to "domestic" cats and dogs, so obviously an exotic animal isn't good for everyone). So you are right, but it's not totally impossible.

I'm sure Fishing Cat has a great life, even if he can't go fishing as much as he wants, and that Tuxedo Cat and the ugly Russian couple love him.
