Bit Possum Anonymous
/an/, we've got a problem. A few moments ago, my dogs had been barking like crazy, and I wasn't sure why. It eventually got on my nerves, and figured they found a snake, but upon going outside, they had in fact bitten a baby possum. I've made a small bed for him, but what else do I do? He's curled up and breathing heavily, and I just don't know what I should do for him, I don't want it to die. Any advice? It's 12:16 right now, I don't think there are any vets open.

I don't know, don't they go into a minor coma to do that? I don't think he'd be breathing so heavilly. I should mention that that his stomach feels kinda soft or almost bloated, but I'm not sure if he's just kinda fat.

They don't fake death they actually go unconscious from fright sometimes, just put it outside awway from wherever your dog can get to it should be fine.

So he might not be dying, just scared shitless?

Kill it. It's vermin.

squishy could be internal damage ~ bleeding.

make him comfy, use eye dropper to give Water.

if he lasts the night, call local wildlife center, and see what they say.

DO NOT give it water. Make sure you secure it by putting a towel into a box with air holes and call local animal rescue or vet first thing in the morning. It needs quiet and rest, not water.

Quick update, the guy woke up and started moving around. We took him outside to the field next to our house, and before we could contemplate his readiness, he jumped out of the little dish we were holding him in, and ran off into the night making some sort of squeek noise. He's probably looking for his mom. As to why I didn't just kill the guy, one of my cats, who used to be a bit of a stray (She was left behind by our neighbors when they moved), had kittens, and because my dad hates cats, we had to keep them outside, and it left them rather vulnerable, so one particular litter had two that were killed by fairly small dogs, about the size of my own right now. Usually in the end, only two would survive out of a litter of five, and it was because I couldn't do crap for the guys.

1. Why own a cat if your dad hates them?

2. Why didn't you just tell him to suck a fat cock?

Because he's willing to tolerate them, and the rest of the family likes cats, also, this happened way back when I was little, at least four years ago, my dad was still the big stubborn wall you couldn't argue against, just to answer why I didn't tell him to fuck off.

my step dad has trained our Corgies to hunt possums. They are viscous animals I really would not want one living near me.

my dad is like that. he hates cats all because his dumbass left a blue ribbon rabbit he got at a fair outside and a cat killed it over 30 fucking years ago. he's even told me that he has shot cats with crossbows too.
he'd always threaten me that he'd skin, eat, get rid of our cats back then and claim they just sleep, destroy things and piss. which i'd just retort why don't we just kill the dog because thats the only thing she did.

what a dillhole, if you were my kid I'd let you have a cat. Cats > possums.

they don't have to get into your eyes or nose..but those are some of the worst areas to get it. retard.

Viscous? You mean 'vicious', amirite?

Viscous describes a thick liquid that doesn't flow easily.
