Hello /an/ fishermen,

I was wondering if you could catch perch with the carolina rig, since we got no black bass here in the Netherlands.
By catching the perch, i mean if the hook actually could be set at a strike.
And it seems some people already are using it for Zander, the euro version of the walleye.

Depends on what the perch feeding habits are, and what exactly you have on the hook. You don't necessarily have to put a soft plastic lure on the hook in a carolina rig. I use a very slightly modified carolina rig when fishing for channel cat here in Florida, the only changes being some kind of raw cut bait on the hook and a egg sinker or split shot instead of a bullet sinker above the swivel.

I'm gonna try nightcrawler and dead little minnows, i hope to catch some big perch today.

By the way, do you jig the carolina rig or do you twitch it?
