This stuff will beat the -shit- out of any flea treatment out there. It's also very safe for puppies. Our poor puppy got a horrifying flea infestation from the neighbors house. She was covered in hundreds of them. We filled the sink with water, mixed in palmolive, lathered and rinsed. Every flea was dead within a minute or two. This stuff is cheap, easy to find and works miracles.

uh, yeah.

You just "proved" only that it works for you, in one particular instance. You never proved that it works better than anything else. You also have no evidence of its long-term effectiveness. Fleas aren't hard to get rid of if there are no eggs. If there are eggs, then be prepared to put your theory to the test!

OP is right. My neighbor has cats and recommended this for my dog. It works wonders, no fleas. I've tried Advantage, which didn't do anything at all, and all the generic, overpriced, over-the-counter flea sprays and they are all shitty.

Soap is one of the oldest methods of controlling small insects. It is commonly used in gardening for this exact purpose too.

However, soap does nothing to flea eggs, and it also may not work if your pet has thick fur and the fleas are down against the skin.

Your best defense against fleas is cleanliness. Make sure you clean your home and areas where your pet sleeps and likes to play. Wash your pet's bedding frequently in HOT water. Vacuum frequently and make sure you properly dispose of the used bags from the vacuum. If you have a doghouse or a kitty bed, etc, those things need to be cleaned on a regular basis.

Products like advantage work quite well, but beware--there is a LOT of counterfeiting in the ped meds industry. If you tried it and it didn't work there is a good chance you got bogus meds. Make sure you have the proper dose and you buy it from a reputable place.
