My 8-year-old longhair tabby, Pepperjack, had to be euthanized today unexpectedly. He'd been sick for the past week, and when we (my mom and I) took him to the vet today, we found out he had a cancerous mass in his GI tract. It was best to put him out of his misery. He was family to me, and I've been crying randomly all day and I get the feeling I'll do so all week. I miss him so much.

Pic is PJ in his favorite position. Black cat to the left is Twist. She died two years ago.

Your mom took him to the vet?

OP, sorry about your cat, but on the bright side, you don't have to buy cat food or empty a shitbox anymore.

Sorry to hear that, but at least your track record isn't as bad as ours. Virtually all but one of our female pets (3 cats and 2 dogs) have died fairly young. One cat was stolen by a neighbor and couldnt find her way back home, the other car was hit by a car; and as for dogs, the oldest one had some form of cancer that I cant recall precisely, but she stopped eating for like a week and we had to put her down, and the other one was a puppy we had for literally just a couple of weeks before she got some virus, and we had to put her down her too.

On the bright side, the female cat we have right now is about 6-7 years old and still going strong!
