hey, I my cat had kittens 6 months ago. one of them stayed with us. At first everything was absolutely fantastic - they used to love each other, sleep toegether etc. Now mother just hate her baby cat - she is birring at her, coming home just to eat something. what should i do? will it pass? she is acting like that for about two months.

It it's anything like my situation, the mommy cat will forever growl and hiss at the kitten.

I have a cat that had nine kittens when she was 10 months old (thats her in the picture) We kept three of the kittens, but after the kittens were weaned, she wanted nothing to do with them. She gets pissed off if they just walk into the room she's in. She used to be such a good mother to them when they were smaller.

Kill the mother.
It's old anyway, better kill it when the meat is still fresh so you get a good stew out of it.

I think she's reacting the way she would in the wild - trying to drive away her offspring when they can survive on their own, because 1) it reduces the chances of inbreeding and 2) it gets them out of her feeding territory.

It's been almost three years and my mom cat is still just as pissed as ever at her kittens for no reason. But she also gets really angry at humans for no reason. She's really neurotic.

Once in a long while she's too lazy to get angry, so she'll just lay there and swish her tail a lot when the kittens are near her.
