Anyone knows any DIY methods of manipulating aquarium water? Such as making it softer/harder, messing with pH and stuff like that. All I know is that baking soda adds to alkalinity, anyone know any ways to make the water softer in particular?

>>168339Try a good pet store that specializes in fish. They'll have handy liquid solutions for pH adjustment (sodium bicarb to raise it and phosphoric acid to lower it)
>>168346Okay I guess Ill have to try and hitch a ride to the store since then.
>>168316... QFT. I don't mind people trolling about "what are the least painful methods of being an hero" but seriously, don't try to kill off the poor fish.
>>168356OP here, its kind of obvious that bleach will kill....anything, only a complete fucktard would put bleach in the water.
>>168339walmart, home depot, any home/lawn/garden center
