Anyone have any tips on a cat that won't eat? It's my parents cat, 11 yrs old, neutered male, indoor/outdoor. He used to be mine but he doesn't like my other pets so I let him stay with my mom.

He is literally skin an bones. I finally saw him yesterday. We already tried giving him de-wormed, pill form. We've tried changing his food. We've tried wet food. He is just barely eating I guess. Otherwise he is happy as a clam, lets me pet him, etc, nothing out of the ordinary.

Any tips on what i could do to make him eat? And in b4 take him to the vet. I know that, but my mother will not pay the expense and I probably can but I do not know if it is worth it as he is very old and I have 3 other animals to pay for, and he has always been a picky eater. I will probably bring him any way out of guilt and worry.. but if I can get him to eat I won't have to.

Picture is not him, it is my other cat.

Tried actual fish? I had a friend that was having problems with an ill cat that was losing weight and wouldnt eat the dry or wet cat foods, but it would wolf down tuna, even when it was mixed with the medication. Might try and see what your cat likes, in moderation of course
