/an/, my kitten has had really bad diarrhea for as long as I can remember, Ive tried switching around foods but nothing seems to work. They used to have blood in them, but I switched to Prism brand and it stopped (!?). Could he be allergic to something in most catfood?

Check what was in his old cat food that isn't his new cat food.

And for fuck's sake, what kind of idiot just lets their cat have bloody diarrhea for as long as they can remember without getting concerned?

I dunno, you could try, I dunno, say asking a Veterinarian?

I didnt "let it" have bloody diarrhea, I noticed right away and was concerned. I tried changing foods and monitoring it to make sure it didn't eat my houseplants. I have no money to take it to the vet.

can't afford vet, can't afford pet, etc etc

Anyway, fine, my input still stands: Look up the ingredients in his old food, compare it to the new. If his stomach is fine now, it was probably an allergy.

Also, make sure he's getting adequate moisture. Normal cats as is are at risk of not getting enough water, and one with constant explosive diarrhea's probably even worse off. Running water stimulates them to drink more-- so a leak in the tap, or a cheap little desktop fountain, etc. would help (I'd normally suggest some canned food for moisture content, but if he gets such strong allergic reactions, probably dont want to fuck around with introducing new foods)

My cat used to have that problem - turned out she was just overfeeding. Make sure you're not giving your cat too much food.

Vets actually tend to be useless for dietary advice.
