actually, their lifespan is about 5-10 years with proper care, how long did you have yours?

About 5 years each? I had em when I was real young, so it's hard to remember. I've had 3 in my entire lifetime, got 2 after the 1st one died. The last one lived for about 6 or 7 years, until he died on my birthday. Found him at the bottom of the cage. He was fine the day before!

I have a parakeet. He's kind of big compared to the blue one I had, so I guess he's one of those european types? I forget the name.

But the blue died, maybe, back in November. He had this weird bump that grew under his lower eyelid, got so big he couldn't see, and it scabbed up and left this huge thing dangling from his eye. I couldn't take him to the vet because my grandparents were using the excuse "It's not a dog or a cat so it's not family." And I didn't have a job at the time. He used to rub it on the perches to get it off and it'd bleed and stuff, and it kept going away and coming back for about a year and a half. Never found out what it was, either.

Here, green is Nikki, blue is Sky.

Also, Skie lived for about.. six years. Nikki's still going strong and healthy.

The normal lifespan for a budgie is 12-14 years if you actually take care of them.

I used to have two pink and grey galahs. I miss them :<

Two cockatiels and a green-rumped parrotlet, who is a little brat. Thinks he's an amazon.

I want a cockatiel or a cockatoo.

There's a sulfer-crested in my local petstore but that bastard goes for $2,000.

I used to have a Quaker named George. His cage was in the bedroom, and he would hear people laughing and mock them.

When I wanted to take him out of his cage, I'd put up my finger and tell him to "step up", and he'd raise his foot like he was going to do it, and mock me. -_- He was a little bitch, but he was awesome.

A lesser Sulfur crested Cockatoo and a Jenday conure.

I adopted and if you are really interested I would say you should too. However 2000$ for an animal that will be with you for decades is nothing...and if you *were* serious you would probably understand that.
