It's growing on a tree near my house. I live in Massachusetts.
It's about 2.5 feet high. It's soft. And weird. I have more pics.

It is a fungus. What kind? I don't know. I am living in Europe and I guess you have different fungies in US than we have over here.

Some of these fungies are edible but you have to be 110% sure! If you cut the fungus off very carefully and dry the it on a warm, airy place you can use it as decoration.

The picture shows an oyster mushroom, a very delicate edible fungus also living on wood

It is a Hen of the woods. Very good mushroom. Those beefsteak and morel mushrooms grow everywhere near me. They don't taste like chicken lol. They are a real mild not to strong taste to them. They are very good.
