What kind of cat are those?
I found one the other day, he was kind of grumpy and tried to bite me...
Have someone of you people lost your cat? I don't know, he' a bit angry and I don't know what he likes to eat.

Please pick him up if you know him, call the number, I think he's just angry because he's lonely. :(

Anyone have any tips on how to train a cat to co-habitat with ferrets? My first cat, it worked out fine. But he died, and my new cat, is a total dick. We cant leave him alone with them, and have to put the cat in the basement, whenever the ferrets come out.

I use a ferret playpen filled with old clothes. It sounds really ghetto but they love it and it's insanely easy to clean.

>>216678
Here we're in a different room and the pen's in a square shape...more aesthetically pleasing, not that they notice ;)

>>216351
A muzzle? Did you also put softpaws (or whatever they are) on the cat so it doesn't claw the ferret to death with cat scratch fever?

>>216692

..what? Are you talking about the tags swinging up near the cat's face?

that's my cat and ferret. the cat is declawed in the front and those are just his tags.

declawed ???!!! as in, you cut its claws regularly or REMOVED them for good ? o_o
>> Anonymous
>>216956
He probably meant removed for good, retard. Declawing house cats is common in the US. Aside from the healing process, it doesn't cause the cat any pain.
>> Anonymous
>>216956
Incredible, isn't it, the barbarity of these people?
Before posting here, I had no idea that there existed people so unpleasant they mutilate their own pets for some perceived convenience which is largely imaginary anyway.
>> FZR1K !tgnywOHJ.M
>>216956
his front claws were removed in their entirety. i didn't want to have him declawed, but it wouldn't have been fair to our other cat who was declawed when we got him. i really don't see the problem with declawing a solely indoor cat anyway. it prevents them from clawing people, other pets, and the furniture, and doesn't too severely limit their ability to defend themselves(i've seen front declawed cats inflict some serious wounds with their back feet and teeth.)

i would never declaw a cat's back claws though. without their front claws they can still defend themselves very well, but with the back gone too all they have is their teeth. then again, i would never let any cat i owned be an outside cat either. letting your cat outside is just stupid, it's way too dangerous outside even if they have all of their claws.
>> stabby
Here's the problem with the "logic" behind declawing:

>>216963it prevents them from clawing people

oh...oh wait

>>216963i've seen front declawed cats inflict some serious wounds with their back feet and teeth.
>> Anonymous
>>217012
Maybe, but can you imagine how much more damage they could have done with front claws too? Obviously we can't remove their back claws and teeth, but so long as it's a house cat there is no problem with removing the front claws.
>> Anonymous
Is it a bad idea to bring a ferret into a household with two adult cats?
>> stabby
>>217016
Front claws are a cat's first defense. By declawing them you're forcing them to rely on their more powerful back legs and teeth. I don't think that a cat with all of its claws intact poses that much "more" of a threat to us that declawing the front feet is justifiable. You do realize that declawing means the removal of the cat's entire first toe bones, right? It's equivilant to amputating all your finger tips.
>> FZR1K !tgnywOHJ.M
>>217066You do realize that declawing means the removal of the cat's entire first toe bones, right? It's equivilant to amputating all your finger tips.

yeah only they don't use their fingers to grip things, nor do they actually walk on them, so it doesn't hurt them at all a week or two after they get declawed.
>> Anonymous
>>217170

What the fuck? After one or two weeks of getting your fingers amputated, it doesn't hurt either, retard. They're in EXCRUCIATING pain when it happens, and even afterwards. Owners tell themselves it doesn't hurt so they don't have guilt when their cat is screaming in agony. Also: Cats have claws for a reason. One, if they get out, they can defend themselves, and two, cats sharpen their claws to relieve stress. They'll go insane if they can't let out that stress through their claws. In short, HORRIBLE idea.

PeTAfag says: "Declawing is torture to cats!"

Veterinarian says: "Declawing is life changing for a cat, but they are in no pain and function just fine."

Just take your pick.

/an/ has got to stop being a bunch of cat fags. Not every thread needs to turn into one about cats. Post some fucking ferrets.

LOLOLOL WHAT

What fucking veterinarian says that it's painless? Find me a fucking website that claims that. It is absolutely -NOT- painless, you blithering idiot. L2Google.
>> Anonymous
>>217226

Also: Losing your fingers is life-changing, but people function just fine without them. How about you clip them off with scissors.

>>217226
England and many other European countries have outlawed declawing, dude. What does that tell you?

That tells me that europeons are PETArds. They must like being clawed while they're getting it on with their cats.

cute pic! Nver saw those Ferret bites in Holland.

Just a question ... does your ferret have adrenal disease? Not that a bald tail alone is a sign, but his coat looks rather shabby. No offense, just concerned about your fuzzy. Feel free to email me. ferret-fanatics@hotmail.com
