I always get sad when I see weeping conifers, they look so lonely and depressed. I want to say, "Don't feel bad, weeping conifer! You are a special cultivar prized for its unique beauty! You should be proud of yourself."

This is a tree that was involved in a tornado last year. Its leaves were stripped off and it was plastered with most of a metal car shop from across the street, leaving it like this. Since this was in a bad part of town, only the junk on the ground was cleaned up; the tree was left coated with metal.

In the summer, the leaves grew back and covered most of it. It was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen, a vibrant green with just hints of that rusted metal showing through. I didn't get a picture before someone chopped it down, though.
