I heard that "wild" cats (small ones you can keep as pets) were some of the best hunters in the world.

Is this true.

Yes.

All cats are some of the best hunters in the world; they're specialist predators.

Yes, it's true. That is why feral cats wreak havoc on native wildlife in many areas.

My kitty just snatches birds right out of the air D=. But sometimes she leaves them injured and alive, and it seems like they are in pain. So I go get another cat or two and bring them to the bird, and they wont finish it off either. They're always like: *sniff sniff* "Yeah... It's a bird. I'm gonna lick my butt now."

Pic related, it's my cute, fluffy, cuddly machine of death.

you don't have to be so mean about it. at least put a smiley face at the end of an incredibly scathing and belittling message.

Cat trained in mantis-style kungfu?

Back on topic, cats are generalist predators (meaning they'll prey on almost anything) not specialists. Feral cats prey on everything from insects and rodents to vipers and marsupials.

A: No, fun away.
B: Yes, proceed to 2.

2: Am I hungry?
A: No, proceed to 3.
B: Yes, proceed to 4.

3: Kill it for fun.
4: Kill it and eat it.
