/an/ there's a very fat squirrel in my backyard. It moves very slowly and doesn't run away from people. It's belly's dragging on the ground.
Anyone know what's wrong with the poor thing?
Maybe it's pregnant? Maybe people fed it too much?

Maybe it was an escape pet. Most of the squirrels around our house just make mean chittering noises.

It looks like you are feeding it in the second picture.

If this is the case, that's probably the issue. Feeding wild animals really messes them up in the long run.

I would say that you should discourage people around you from feeding it. Although this could backfire and kill it... I would do the former, and then if it looks like it's starving, maybe just keep it alive.

Last resort? Call your local Humane Society.
