Uhh, no, DON'T get an iguana. A 10 gallon tank won't hold one for long, and they get HUGE and mean. Bigger than a cat? Try bigger than many dogs, with a whip-like tail that can cause major damage. They basically need a room of their own by the time they are full grown.
OP, I would suggest a leopard gecko, though a lot of people prefer them to be in 20 long tanks at adulthood. One of the coolest lizards I've handled, stays small-ish, and very mellow if handled.
