how do your cats react to catnip, /an/? i don't own any cats cause my dad's severely allergic to their dander, but my sis once planted catnip in our front garden and stray cats would roll around in the flower bed and ruin the flowers. mom got pretty angry. ):

They usually roll around in it and have this look of utter glee which I'd never see otherwise. I mean I get them to purr and stuff but nothing gets them as happy high as catnip.

I made the mistake of leaving a bag of catnip in my closet. I have 4 cats. Everything in my closet is covered in catnip, and they tracked it all over my bed. =(

my cats LOVE these things, can't get the cover off of it w/out them all trying to attack it.... fucking stoner cats

My cats will sniff at it, touch it, and just leave it alone.

Damn boring cats.

Does catnip affect other animals in the way it affects cats?

that sounds adorable. My cat didn't really like it until she was bout 9 months old, I guess. Now she goes hyper and tears around the house like a cyclone and rips up rugs and shit. I think it's hilarious but my boyfriend(who owns the house and furniture) doesn't think so

My cat first discovered my roommate's cat's catnip when he was 4 months old; most cats don't react to it until they're a bit older than that. He went crazy and started doing backflips, then landed jaw-first on the living room coffee table. Though it was a little scary at the time, the look on his face was, in retrospect, hilarious.

The other day, I gave him some catnip and I swear while he was eating it, he closed his eyes and started tearing.

My cats aren't affected by it at all. Or maybe it's just the brand. I hear some stuff is stronger than others but I get so confused.

WHICH IS THE GOOD SHIT /AN/?

I used to keep the catnip for my cat's carboard scratchy-thingies in my dresser drawer. If I leave that sumbitch open just a HAIR, in the middle of the night they'll pry it open, get the baggie out, and proceed to mash it into the carpet as they roll around in it. It's kinda funny to wake up (or walk into the room) and see them sprawled out in the middle of the floor stoned off their asses. I can almost hear them going 'Heyyyyyyyyyy maaaan ...it's aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall goooood.'. I've got friggin' Tommy Chong in cat form.

I'll spray catnip on a sheet of newspaper and put it outside for my cats. one of them ignores it, the other sniffs it and lays down on it and gets really really high from it. he will lick a hole in the freaking newspaper.
