my boyfriend got "bit" by one of those. the fangs were so long they stabbed completely through his forearm so he didn't really get injected with the venom.

Atheris are the shit! i love how their scales are spiny looking. there's no anti venin though..so they don't make the best captives.

Bullshit.

I have a corn snake and she's the sweetest thing ever. Shitty is not a word I would use to describe her. You wouldn't think a snake would have personality, but you'd be amazed.

And speaking of corns, if you want gorgeous colorations, they are absolutely the best. Pure white, black, yellow, purple, candy-cane, anything, pretty much.

Gopher snake unrelated.

Don't snakes pretty much just eat, shit and stay in one spot though? They weren't a pet I ever figured had particularly interesting behavior. All of the ones I've ever seen act basically like I just described. I do like herps a lot, I just prefer them wild, I think, from what I've seen.

mine hides a lot of the time during the day, but every night (except after a big meal or shedding) i see it out cruising around it's tank. not constantly moving..just making the rounds at a casual pace, pausing here and there.

hell even cats and dogs are lazy and lay around a lot.
