Pretty booring creatures, buy one if your interested and see how you feel about it/them depending on how many hatch, if any.

I don't belive theres a discussion here...

OH I HAD THOSE WHEN I WAS A KID :3 When I was like 14 my uncle bought me a kit that had those and brie shrimp! Well I used to love watching the Triops eat the brine shrimp :3 I loved having them sure i can see how they can be boring but I was entertained as fuck watching them chase the brine shrimp around...

They are cannibals. Do not be surprised if you end up with a single large one.

No. You can buy the eggs themselves for like 5 bucks if you shop around. The other 10 bucks is going towards a plastic container that's too small to raise more than 1 or 2 to adult size and a bunch of shit you don't really need. Just buy the eggs, get your own container or aquarium, a cheap little air pump and some fish food.

You can get the eggs for free by digging up dirt in areas where they are and hatching them from that. I used to do research on them when in college. Rice fields are a good place to look. They will eat anything and grow quickly. Some are clonal hermaphrodites too, so no need to get new ones all the time.
