will you report me to the police?

Yes, these are hornets. I live in a old wooden house in austria and we also have hornets.

They are not really dangerous, only if you try to destroy their nest, they become really aggressive - so you better don't do it yourself.

If you have a nest in your house and want it removed, you should call a professional (Feuerwehr).

i don't know where the nest is, but it must be somewhere near - i just caught the third one in my room...
i live in an apartment in a relatively new building tho', not a house, so the nest can't be that close
i guess i'll try reporting it to the caretaker (Hausmeister), and he will call a professional if it turns out to be a problem

uuu, so scary

Like other insects hornets are attracted by light, so you should keep your windows closed in the evening hours.

If the problem still persists you should ask your Hausmeister for help.

BTW: Always look inside your shoes before you put them on. Once I got stung by a wasp that was hiding inside one of my slippers. My foot was swollen so badly that I couldn't wear shoes for about a week.

I'd breed those and send em to Vietnam!

bad news buddy, they be living in the fucking walls, pipes, and vents.

Next time when you take a shit, some might crawl out of the toilet and sting your balls.

most probably. there was a large nest in one of the bathroom pipes in our guesthouse. You might wanna call the plumber (pipemeister) to check it out.
>> Anonymous
I concur. We had a large nest of them around the back of our toilet. You might need to call the toilet engineer (shittenmeister) to sort it out.

Hornets - if that they be - have a far more powerful sting than wasps. Very bad news.

not true.
hornets are not more poisonous than normal wasps and they are less aggressive.

fucking LOL

You may need to call someone adept at hunting things (Jägermeister) to get rid of them.

the sting isn´t more dangerous but it hurts quite a lot more. Since anyone in here can google the exact composition of hornet/wasp poison for himself i´ll spare you that, but i´ve been stung by a hornet once. You don´t want to feel that

Been stung by both. Hornets hurt far worse and the sting swells much more. Wasp stings hurt for a few minutes and swell for about a day. Hornet stings hurt for hours and stay swollen for a few days. In my experience, but my grandfather and stepbrother both had similar experiences.
