Cat biting Anonymous
When my cat bites me, I pick her up by the scruff of her neck, yell "No!" and put her down and she stops biting me.

But then she starts biting herself (her behind) and kicking her face really violently. Why does she do this? Does she need to take her biting out on someone, so she takes it out on herself?
>> Anonymous
that's a really odd reaction

This was on some psychology show on the discovery channel about how animals and humans are alike. Like how if a child is abused they end up hurting them selves cutting, suicide, stuff like that and it turns out animals do that alot too. Probably like your cat.

Start using a spray bottle instead.

If the cat hurts herself after being hurt, would she pee everywhere after being sprayed?

So no more yelling

A simple no and spray bottle will do or do the thing where u pinch the neck dto let them know it pisses you off but you still love them.

Yelling is bad dont do it

how the hell did you fuck up a cat

If my cat bites me, i know i did something to bother her. So it's my fault and i do nothing.
Also: You have to know the difference between playing bites and pissed-off bites.

If my cat bites me, i hold still and look right in her eyes. She always catches my glare and a) licks the wound if she's sorry, or b) run off and avoids me for a few hours.

But angry cat is hungry and soon will be nice again.

Cats don't mind being picked up by their scruff. It reminds them of being a kitten.. or some shit like that.

actually, i wanted to try this out a few times but i'm scared it might hurt the cat because it's so much heavier than a kitten

It won't hurt the cat. In fact, it's the only way we can get my 17-year-old cat to take her medicine.

When you puck them up by their scruff it releases chemicals or some shit that calm them down.

OP here

So what my cats too emo for my discipline? All I want to do is pet her on her head or back, and she starts the biting. They are first the little playful nips that I can stand, but then they turn into those lunging full of hate snakelike bites that hurt.

Also about pinching her neck, where do I pinch the skin or her actual neck?

< The one and only decent picture I've taken of her that wasn't blurry.

Disciplining : Skin

Haetkilling : Actual neck (Like the euhm...Airpipe thing)

Dude, your cat sounds just like mine. I swear that animal hates my fucking guts. ):

I ONLY WANT TO LOVE YOU, PC
WHY ARE YOU MAKING THIS SO DIFFICULT

Some cats have boundaries that you just can't cross, and you should let them be. Basically, there's areas they don't want you to touch. They don't want to be grabbed either.
Fortunetly, my cats have never, ever scratched me on purpose. One of my cats absolutely HATES being picked up and when I do it she fights but she still never intentionally hurts me.
When they play and they get too rough sometimes it happens. I usually flick em on the nose immediately after (not very hard but hard enough.) They get the message. But they never intentionally hurt me, so it's probably different.
I think it's more of a power struggle type thing. The cat wants to be in control because he feels trapped. I would think positive reinforcement would be more effective here. Give him more treats or catnip or whatever, and he'll trust you more.

Looks to me like your cat gets hyperactive with lots of physical petting. Watch its tail as you pet, and cease when it's wagging violently...

Or, get some toys out and watch it go nuts. Crumpled paper, etc. Like women, you need to be able to read their insanity to get along with them (if at all).

So why are her rear claws still detracted when she's kicking her face? Also there's no licking motion when biting her behind, it's just straight biting. She also forms into a ball and rolls around while doing this, kicking her face with both feet.

...she forms a ball and rolls around? Has she acquired morph ball or wut?

OP's got Stitch
>> Its called "Scratching" Anonymous
The reason her claws are detracted is because it doesnt want to hurt its self? And it bites its behind to scratch as thats the only thing it CAN do to scratch its behind? Dogs do this aswell... Its normal. Your cat isnt Emo or upset, its just itchy.

scratch your cat.
