so whats a few years more? just wait till you get an apartment. Cheaper than dorms anyway.

Just wait untill next year when you live in an apartment. Just please dont leave it behind when you move as alot of people do that. Also I have a dog right now and it is very hard to find a rent controlled place that will let you keep pets.

It's really mean to try to keep a cat in a space as small as a dorm. Also, you'll almost certainly have to give it up once your neighbors start complaining about the hair and litterbox smell.

Do yourself and your kitty a favor and don't try to keep it in a dorm room. Go rent a house or an apartment instead.

Not the OP here:
I'm going to attempt to keep my cat in my dorm next year.
But we have a suite with a living room, two separate bathrooms, a kitchen, and different rooms. It’s pretty big. The RD is real cool about stuff like that though, as long as it isn’t loose in the building.
I’m still a bit hesitant on bringing the cat up though. I don’t want to pay to fumigate the building if the RD suddenly decides to be a dick.

My father kept a chicken in his dorm back in the day. He laid the cabinet down and let it chill out in there. He fed it beer and named it Foghorn. He was the RA so it was easier to get away with it dispite the fact in the morning it would go off.

move off campus and get one, dont be a douche to ur suitemates and the poor cat

1 girl at my school had a cat in the dorm 2 yrs ago, for a couple days until all of her suitemates made her get rid of it. now its prolly stray/dead

we had a cat in my dorm. Not really someone's pet, he was wandering from one room to another, eating leftovers, sleeping on random people's bed... we had very small individual chamber so sometimes having it to keep you company on long sleepless work night was good. And no one ever complained about it, except one guy, but he was fine as long as the cat didn't enter his room.
When he disappeared, after a couple of years, without ever coming back, we named the dorm IRC channel bot by his name, to remember him...

i know that a few girls upstairs kept a cat briefly (only for a week or so) and that was only because the poor thing wouldn't have any other place to go. thier RA is completely incompetent and they kept the cat under thier beds the whole time. all of the girls in the suite knew that if they got caught with the cat they'd all get in trouble, so they were prepared.

basically, its not a good idea. people are allergic to cats and its hard to clean up after it if you're busy with classes all day. just get an apartment for your sophmore year.

Don't try and keep a cat in a dorm. Seriously. Just don't. You will inevitably get caught and they usually give you only 24hrs to get rid of the cat.
If you're going to be dumb and do it anyways PLEASE have someone waiting in the wings to take the cat immediately if you're caught.
