Hey /an/,

I rescued this dog recently, but I cannot figure out what type it is. I don't think it's a chihuahua, the muzzle is too long and I've kept chihuahuas in the past, they've all been much smaller than he is. So what is he?

Sorry for the huge file!

That's a chi if I've ever seen one. Look at the ears.

We have a dog just like him, we were told he was a "deer type" chihuahua. looks like a mix of chihuahua and a miniature pinscher.

The legs and body are smaller in scale, also the ears are notably limp, even when alerted.

Get a better picture of him.
But from what I can see, he's a MinPin.
I own a minpin, and he looks differnt from the one in the picture, but mine is defiantly a min-pin.

some have limp ears, some have straight, mine's legs are alot shorter than the one in the picture, probably because the one in the picture is a show-dog, bred to look perfect and have a perfect posture, whilst most family min pins I've seen have straight backs :)

If it looks anything like this, its a miniature pinscher.

I thought they were bred for rat catching.

Looks very similar to our dog.
He's a mongrel, rest of his litter are a mix between collies and beagels.
