Small animals and Ferrets Anonymous
What small animal would be best as a companion to a solitary female ferret? I can't get another ferret, my dumb ass house-mate thinks they're wild animals and says she'll kill them if I bring any more into the house.

(Considering that I do most of the chores and cook, I think the bitch can just go to hell, but I don't want to come home to two dead ferrets).

She, the ferret, gets along well with other animals and doesn't seem to have much of a killer instinct, but plays rough.

I don't have any price restrictions (well-paid job is well-paid) and I've got a flexible schedules if the pet has any special requirements.

Get a new roommate.

I hear they make good company.

Aside from that, I've had a ferret and my cat got along ok with it. The ferret just jumped around it and bit its face. But the cat didn't care.

ferrets are annoying, smelly, and you have to be careful around them 24/7.

But if your roommate already bent over for 1 just get another, she'll take it like a bitch. Enjoy being an inconsiderate asshole.

Can't. I'm related to her so that automatically means I can't kick her out. I'm "helping her get back on her feet".
Get me a forklift.

They're only smelly if you don't take care of them or let them shit everywhere.
I do, anon, I do.

You're seeking a companion for your ferret - that means just get another fucking ferret. Any other small exotic, a mink or skunk, would not get along with your current fert. A small dog with a lot of energy might make a good friend, but eventually it will wear out when your ferret still wants to play and it will get pissed off. Cats can be friendly too but will hide up in high places away from your ferret, rendering the idea of getting one for companionship pointless.

Guess she doesn't really have much of a say in your decision making then does she? If she doesn't like it, tell her to move somewhere else.

Since I found a ferret thread.. I'll ask my question about ferrets here if that's ok.

It it true a ferret will make your house stink?

no other animal will fit perfectly with a ferret, but hedgehogs seem to do well. you do have to watch them, but as long as you don't have a super aggressive ferret they should be fine

yes, but you get used to the horrible stench and only the people coming over notice it.

Like>>235416said. They only do if you don't take care of them. I find putting the bi-oder in they're water and cleaning they're litter box EVERYDAY. Works well. I have four. And I make sure I pick up and clean every turd. Most ferrets come descented if you buy them at a pet store.

I say get another ferret. If you helping her out. Then she has no right to complain. Family or not. And if she does something as violent as killing your pets. Then I am sure your family would understand your reasons for kicking her out.

It is the greatest invention for ferret owners. While descented ferrets still have a musk to them. This stuff really makes it disappear. I use it on my 4. You just put three squirts in every 8oz of water. I ran out once for a week and you can really tell the difference between using it and not using it.
