This is my kitty, Chloe. I got her a year ago and I love her to bits. Today I noticed her eyes are round and not slit. Is she sick or something?

Haha, take her out to sunlight, and her eyes will slit. Cats' pupils go round to take in more light in the same way human pupils dilate in dark conditions.

Punch your cat in the face really hard, you'll see them go slitted quick enough.

I apologize for the retard that chose to post. I personally like dogs alot more than cats, but I at least respect peoples' choices in animals.

I don't believe she's sick at all. My cats' pupils open all the time at night/when it's dim, don't worry. Their eyes are only supposed to be slit when it's really bright in the room/sunny.

Cat eyes tell a lot about what it is feeling. A frightened cat will have very large round pupils that can even fill most of the visible eye. An angered but confident cat on the other hand will have very narrow slit pupils. Of course the main source of variation is lighting, but slit pupils in the dark or round pupils in brightly lit conditions are almost certainly an indication of the cat's feelings.

The bad news for OP is that the pupils may also become rounded if the cat is in pain. You might want to see if she is showing any other signs of pain, but mind that a cat will try to mask its pain as well as it can. A visit to the vet might be a good idea.

A visit to the vet for what is essentially normal behavior? Unless she stopped eating and/or is displaying other strange signs there's no reason to go to the vet.
And taking dilated pupils as a sign that the cat is in pain is just about as reassuring as purring since a cat does that when it's hurt too.

Some ways to tell if your cat is sick:

-it stopped eating;
-it stopped urinating/defecating or the discharge is strange (diarrhea, blood, puss etc);
-the eyes have become foggy;
-the cat doesn't move much, hides around the house, isolates itself and is generally unresponsive;
-doesn't purr (yes, purring is also a sign of pain but its complete lack is even more severe);
-coughs and/or sneezes more than the usual (a cat might get tickled and sneeze but doing so on a daily basis for several days is worrisome);
-pukes more than it should (a vet told me once a cat puking once a week is perfectly normal though not necessarily something all cats do - however, if the cat is puking after every meal it should be checked).

These are just from my experience as a cat owner; feel free to add/correct as I’d like to learn more.
Also, while I’m not sure about OPs post – still sounds like a troll to me - let’s make this thread into a discussion about strange behavior in cats and how it can relate to a sickness.

My cat usually has really, really round pupils when it's high on catnip or when I play hunting games with it. You know, wiggle some piece of yarn in front of it and get it to go low, shake it's tail and stare at the toy before attacking. The eyes are nothing BUT pupils at those times.

If the eyes are like that in a brightly lit room and there's no apparent reason for them to be that way (or if they stay that way for a long time even when the cat is just sitting still or hanging around) you might want to get it checked.

cats aren't feral retards

You can even train them to do things but you have to have actual skill to do this unlike you pathetic dog fags who will receive love from your dumb animal with no effort.

Go roll a lock you simpering fuckwit
