what the hell is this thing?

half turtle half rat half dog

Decomposed animal of some sort, based on the back teeth on it's exposed jaw I would say a dog, but I think I see hooves near the back so that one's out the window if they are. The forepaws looks sort of weird. Huh, I'm kinda stumped.

>> Anonymous
Holy SHIT! It's a bugbear! GET IN THE CAR!
>> Anonymous
What appears to be a beak is actually part of his skull, it appears as such because there is significant amount of decay around it's upper and lower jaw.

Most likely it was something skinned and left to rot. It's obviously a mammal, but the angle and the amount of decay make it difficult to ascertain which mammal.

No, if you took off a turtle's shell it wouldn't have a back or a spine either anymore.

Some sort of deformed penguin?
>> Anonymous
Whatever it is, it's a mammal. It hasn't been skinned, but it may have lost its fur during decomposition or due to some disease. The muzzle has been completely decomposed or possibly eaten by something, baring the teeth and most of the jaws. The skull is surprisingly short and blunt, almost monkey-like (alternatively the upper jaw may have been seriously damaged). Molars appear to be quite sharp and there's a clear canine visible on the lower jaw, this could be a carnivore. Paws appear very narrow and slim or possibly partially hidden in the sand. Hind paws aren't visible enough to say anything for sure. Tail is fairly short.

I bet this thing could be fairly reliably identified if there were some other photos from different angles, or even a higher resolution version of this image available. The size and proportions of the skull are what most intrigue me.

Gentlemen, gentlemen. The important question isn't what this beast is, but rather:

a) Are there more lurking in the deep?
b) There are? Then how do we catch and destroy them?

No, for it's size, the face is too blunt to be a dog.

>>285394
Why would we destroy them? Why not tame them and cross breed them as dogs, making an insane new species we can eventually drive out of existence?

Ok, guys. The only reason it's "bruised looking" is because that was the side it was laying on when it died and it's blood sank to the bottom. That's why the other side is so pale. The reason it's body is so much bigger than its' head is either:
a. It's bloated because that's what happens after death.
b. It's fat.
c. both a and b.
I do think it looks like a dog, even though it's kind of difficult to tell without good shots of the paws. The only thing that bugs me is why is the other side so blue? Gray or lavender I can see, but people and animals don't normally turn blue unless they've got some bad zombie paint on.

It's a seal. The front of its face has rotted off and all of its fur has rotted out. Enjoy your stupidity.

Look at a seal skeleton. It's pretty simple. I mean, what's more likely: A common animal that lives in the ocean died and washed up on the shore, or some prehistoric monster did?

It's not a seal, it's a raccoon. You can tell it isn't a seal just by looking at the fucking tail.

Yeah this is actually pretty close to where i live, everyones talking about it around here. It was seen live, and reported on the news, several days before it was found here dead. Possibly a product of animal testing or some sick genetic mutant? Or just a skinned seal. Personally i'd like to know cause its near where i live, i dont want it to consume me whilst i sleep.
