Is it too late to have my cats nuetered? They're almost a year old now, and the one on the right just started spraying. I read that to prevent spraying you have to get them fixed before they develop the habit. Is that true? What are the chances it it will stop him from doing it, if I can still neuter them?

Also yes, I know my cats look creepy.

talk to your vet, but you should do it anyhow unless you plan on breeding your cat. The sooner you get it done the better, one year old isn't too old, but you may be dealing with a cat spraying for quite a while. Some male cats still end up spraying even despite being neutered as a young kitten.

No its not too late, its never really TOO late unless the cat is like 10 years old or something. I had a cat that mostly stayed outside and run away for months then come back just to eat, and we knew he was up to no good. So one time he came back we captured him made an appointment to the vet, and did the ol snip snip. Never saw him again :_;

nah itll be fine. my cat was about a year old when i had him fixed. the vet said that it may take a while for the hormones to get out of his system that make the smelly musky urine but eventally it would die down along with his urge to spray. theres no guarantee that he'll stop but it should at least help and even if it doesnt at least it wont retain that potent smell that you cant get out
