My cat had obscene kidney problems when she was drinking too much. She had stones the size of pellets, but she had a lot of em. Her bladder was also larger than my cock. Which is quite large.

Yeah, great idea. "So, why did you decide to bring your cat in?" "Well, she was sitting next to her water bowl a lot."

Maybe cat thirsty

Could be diabetes.

My cat randomly sits next to her food dish and stares at it. I think she just likes being near her food, even if she's not eating it.
I wouldn't worry unless she looks like she is having trouble actually drinking the water.

You should be able to tell if tha cat pisses a lot, that's probably easier than knowing how much it drinks. Get clumping litter and count the lumps.

It's hard to tell when cats are sick. You'll know if she has an infection if she drinks a lot but can't go pee, or is only able to go pee a very small amount. Also if she seems kind of tired all the time and doesn't do much. If a cat stops eating, definitely take it to the vet, because after that it's hard to save them. When in doubt, take your cat to the vet, or at least call the vet. Better safe than sorry.

Kidney disease is very likely. Cats, especially elderly cats, get kidney disease. They drink a lot of water and pee frequently.

It commonly occurs due to exposure to household chemicals around the house that aren't so bad for humans, but are toxic to cats. Something is definitely wrong if your cat starts peeing outside of the litter box (or anywhere that it's not supposed to pee.)

I have a 20 year old cat that with kidney problems. We have to keep water bowls all over the house for him because he needs to drink all the time. And he pisses on anything and everything absorbent. Pic is of him.
