Just bought an African Clawed Frog for my tank and I was just wondering, are they fine eating regular fish food? I figured the special frog food was a total ripoff.

As long as they get the same nutrients then it should be no problem

look at the listed ingredients and percentages... as long as the fish food is close or the same, it should be fine eating the food.

no...
feed it reptomin sticks or carnivorous fish food, frozen bloodworms, small earthworms are okay.
They get about the size of your fist or larger and will eat your fish.
and the gallon per inch rule for fish doesn't apply to them, they need ten gallons per frog

That's when you get guppies. Plop them in the tank and watch your frog go to town!

My african dwarf frog has survived for months on goldfish food.

Just make sure it's actually getting food. Watch to see it eating.

But>>246850is right - these are much better feeding options. Specialized food is typically better. Anon is also right in that these frogs will get very, very big unless you specifically purchased a dwarf.

give him some crickets and earthworms, they love them.
