Sup /an/? I'm currently staying up, taking care of a sick puppy. She seems to have a pretty bad roundworm infection, she's got the screaming squirts something awful and I'm running out of puppy training pads.

What can be done about parasitic infections aside from taking her to the vet, in the morning of course?

well the worms don't like bleach, so if you dilute some drano I'm sure it will solve your dog's problems

I hear undiluted drano is a good cure for morons like you.

What the hell does drano have to do with bleach? Dumbasses.

Anyway, there's not much you can do other than just take care of her as much as you can.

Nicotine is an effective drug that will kill intestinal parasites. However, I have no idea what the safe dose would be for a puppy. Eating 1.5 cigarettes works for a human. Perhaps you could scale it down by bodyweight? Anyway, that might give you a lead if you feel like researching it on your own.

Where in the hell did you get that idea? Nicotine is a sympathetic agonist and has no significant antiparsitic properties. The only common association nicotine has in real medicine with antiparasitic therapy is a small number of deaths caused by nicotine poisoning by idiots who heard the same old wives tale.

Your best bet is ivermectin or albendazole, neither of which are readily available over the counter. Heartworm medication usually contains ivermectin and may be effective against intestinal roundworms as well, though you'd probably have to go to the vet to get it anyway.

TLDR;

go to the vet

ivermectin can be gotten in tubes for horse de-worming, i don't know what the recommended dosage for a puppy would be, and what sort of worms she has. They have tons of otc meds for puppies and worms, though if she's already expelling in "screaming squirts" there may be an even larger problem you don't know of. I suggest vet, SOON.

It's in the USA Army survival manual, and I belive the British SAS manual as well, though I have no idea where my copy of that is right now so I can't check.

Furthermore, nicotine is a very common insecticide. It is, quite simply, a poison.

Ivermectin is fairly easy to get. Can buy it any store practically.
But seeing as your dog has the squirt..I'd advise getting your ass down to the store and getting something with electrolytes in it. Preferably a sport drink or pediolyte.
Find a syringe or something to squirt the liquid down its throat. Everytime it shits, shove a dose down its throat. Give it a dose every 20 minutes.
Pepto Bismuth needs to be given. Google dosage for dogs. Give it to it every 4 hours.
Get it to the vet tommorrow. ASAP!
Last November I lost a pup and nearly lost his brother to tapeworms. Only had him four days and incidently when he showed symptoms it was right before thanksgiving. Emergency vet on vacation and our dumbfuck vet refusing to see them.
This method saved the one pup's life. Kept him alive 2 days when we could finally get him in. And he was vomitting and shitting himself.
Good luck.
