The best option would be to find a trained bird rescuer to take care of it. If you bring it to a vet, it will likely get sent to a rescue org anyway, but if they can't find one and no one there has experience, they will put it to sleep. IF they even take the bird.
So, try and find a local wildlife rescue station, then if you can't, locate a vet with experience. If you know what to do and can handle failure (ie bird dying), don't give up the bird unless they know they can place it with someone to raise it. Better than you try to help it than it dies without a chance.
