the mono brackish to salt water fish...get way to big and active for what you are talking about, any size you could buy would have its dorsal fins out of the water.
Look into guppies, they are brackish in the wild and would not mind the small amount of water so much. Most are actually raised over seas in almost half strenght saltwater...thus the large mortality of imported guppies in the US. Find one that doesn't look too fancy, that way your crabs will not eat its fins and it will probably be a little more hardy since it will not have been bred to death. Depending on the size of the crabs also look into pea puffers.
