Ok so I recently planted some cannabis seeds, and I so far discovered 6 sprouted out of 8. The plants are only a week old so far my biggest looks like the attached image (Not my Image). Well I was wondering if any one in /an/ has any advice that will make my plants big and healthy. I so far know the basics for getting really potent crops, separate the males from females so the plants don't reproduce (some people say just destroy the male plants, which I find completely stupid due to the fact I plan on getting seeds from some of my crop), give them plenty of light during their vegetative state (16 hours), 12 hours for flowering stage.
The problem is, is that I don't have florescent light bulbs, all I have are regular house hold light bulbs, and I do know these bulbs tend to take the moisture out of the soil really fast, thats why I water them more frequently, but I wonder if the quality of the light is just as good as florescent. I also wonder if I should use some ammonia for fertilizer so that my plants get lots of nitrogen. Now this is my first time growing marijuana and I know it is illegal to, but I believe to be utmost retarded to try and destroy a plant that exist naturally.
I do think marijuana has medicinal use but I do know their are pharmaceutical drugs that help people more then marijuana does. Well, any ways any recommendation and answers for my questions would be really appreciated.

That wont work until they start producing bud.

The answer is simple. Grow several sprouts, then transplant them to a patch in your most hated neighbor's back yard.

Then call the cops.

ordinary incandescent light bulbs are bad for growing plants. They produce very little light compared to how much electricity they use up.

Sunlight is best.

For indoor growing the best thing is an HID lamp, either mercury vapor or HPS (high pressure sodium). These are quite expensive, but they are very good for plant growth and they are also much more energy efficient (more light per watt of electricity).

If an HID setup is too much for you, then you can use flourescents. Keep the flourescent lamps as close to the plants as possible so you can maximize the light you get.

Ordinary incandescent bulbs or halogen bulbs are a waste of time. They generate a ton of heat but not much light.

correction: I meant metal halide, not mercury vapor.

OP, why do you want moar seeds? Take a couple of cuttings from each plant before they flower, when you know which ones are male, kill them all and their cutting spawn, then grow the female cuttings into mother plants form which to grow your next generation of (all female) plants. You need never see a male again.
If you must have seed for some reason, separate the males from the females, kill all but one, and then use pollen from that one to pollinate a few buds on one female plant. That will give you enough seed for whatever you want it for without ruining your whole crop.

Has it right about the lighting.

There are many forms available online. Just type a few relevant words in to google.. you'll probably need a largish setup if you are doing it indoors. Make sure to use caution and keep a fire extinguisher near.
