Post here if you have stick/leaf insects.

Here is one of my L3 Extatosoma tiaratum.

I need a better cam too.

Personnally I found a forum of insects breeders, and someone send me some eggs for the price of the stamp.
After 4 months incubating, they get out of their eggs. This one is something like 50 days old.

Here is a picture of my high-tech incubator.

It's a glass pot filled with peat (for the acid pH which prevent bacterias to develop), and toilet paper to see the eggs. The eggs are lying on top of the toilet paper.

The peat is humidificated every 3 days. The pot with eggs is in a flower vase filled with water and an aquarium heater, so the eggs are at 26-28°C.

There's a mosquito net so the insects can't escape when they get out of their eggs.

You got to have great patience to wait and monitor it every day for 4 months, not knowing if anything will get out.

Fuck yes, I love stickbugs. Some classrooms had hamsters, our room had fucking stickbugs and praying mantises. My teacher also raised bees and turkeys. He was awesome.

If it requires that much care, how do these things grow in the wild?

Well in fact I'm living in Europe, and these are australian bugs, so the conditions aren't exactly the same..
