Whats with the youtube fags saying bears are tougher than tigers? Tigers rock bears all teh time. They are huge AND incredibly agile. No to mention crazy intelligent. Bears are dumb lumbering beasts, like carnivorous cattle.

True. Basically, tigers have the top predator slot over there.
I'd put my money on the tiger in a tiger vs grizzly fight. It's difficult to imagine just how lethal they are. I'm amazed at the killing power of my cats; just to think of that, tiger sized, is awesome. Polar baer, though, might be a different story....

The big bears are just that. Big. HUGE. Much bigger than tigers and they're made for hard use. They really are hard to kill. The hide is rather tough and the fur is thick. But still, it would be an even fight, I think, with grizzlies, Kodiak bears and polar bears. Black bears and smaller would be pwnt, European brown bears most likely and their Russian brothers probably too. That's my 2 cents.
But hey, that would be an awesome match to behold.

The story:
http://www.toftiger.org/cgi/news/news.cgi?t=template&a=5

""It all happened in a few seconds and before we knew what both Bodo and the guard had fallen down," Dr Choudhary narrated. What now happened was even more amazing. As the tigress landed on the ground Joymala quickly pinned her down with her left fore foot and tried to control it with its trunk. The tigress struggled under this weight for at least half a minute roaring, as other people in the vicinity shouted and fired shots in the air. In this commotion another attempt was made to dart it, but even this shot was off the mark. The tigress finally struggled loose and ran away."

I think I'd prefer to have an elephant on my side during a tiger fight.

I remember something like this showing on the Discovery channel. They simulated a fight between the two, and the bear won because it snapped the tiger's back with a single blow.

Well tigers have laser eyes.

Wasn't there these fights between bulls and bears and people could bet on them?(in some country). And after a while it became unfair cause the bear would win every time. He would club the bull on his head and crack it's skull open. After a while they pitted a tiger against the bear, but the bear smashed it's back open just as fast as against a bull. I think it was a grizzlybear.
