The left side (his left) of my dog's lip is swollen, from halfway down his muzzle to just behind the corner of his mouth. There's no apparent bite/sting sore, but it's faintly pink throughout the swollen area. Doesn't seem sensitive. In my experience, bites and stings are sensitive and have an obvious source area. Has anyone experienced differently? Has anyone experienced this specific episode?

Could easily be an allergic reaction to something be ate. Maybe he rubbed against a plant that has some irritating oils. Who knows? If it persists, take him to the vet.

If you don't really want to take your dog to the vet and rely on advice from 4chan, then give your dog some Benadryl, 1 mg per two pounds of body weight. That will help with the swelling if it's a typical allergic reaction.

Hm. He does have particularly sensitive skin. But usually when he has reactions, he gets bumpy. There are no bumps. If it is still swollen by Monday I'll have to take him in, I suppose.

Benadryl, eh? Good idea.

My dog eats bees and has severe allergic reactions in the form of ridiculously funny looking facial swelling. The vet just gives her benadryl and charges 30 bucks for it.
