Can cats catch a cold from humans? I've had a fairly bad cold and my cat has been very snuggly. May seem stupid, but I'm just curious.

No the cold is not a Zoonotic disease (able to pass from human to animal). Many of our diseases aren't able to pass to cats because they're species specific. For instance a cat's normal temperature is 100-102f and have a different set of genetic code that the virus needs to infect.

There are plenty of viral and bacterial infections you both can give to each other though especially if she is an outdoor cat, rabies being one of course.

While your sick with the cold though, don't be afraid to let your cat give you some affection. And if she gets sneezy you don't have to suspect its you.

The common cold is not zoonotic, but some influenza viruses are. So while a cold cannot be passed between cats and humans, a cat could get the dreaded bird flu and possibly transmit it to humans, or vice versa.
