ITT: CRICKETS

All I want to do is open my window at night for a little breeze while I sleep. But oh no, these fucking CRICKETS keep making a fucking noise like nobody else is sleeping. God damnit WHY CAN'T THEY LEARN TO DO THEIR SHIT ELSEWHERE? RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE?

Now I have to use my ceiling fan. Thanks, crickets.

You step on them.

I love the sound of crickets at night. You must have one really annoying one up close to your window. When they all chirp together, it sounds lovely.

How about this kind?

God damn. The apartment I lived in last year was filled with these things. Especially this time of year. The things were out in force. They scared the hell out of me.

Someone explain to me how exactly these things fucking make such a loud noise.

Crickets are tasty

lol don't ever get a reptile. I feed crickets to my gecko and if one is hiding in the tank and he can't find it the fucker will chirp for days and days without end.

gross. Cave Crickets. They infested the basement of a house I rented in college. We called them "Sprickets" or "Spider Crickets" because they looked like half-spiders/half crickets. All disgusting.

i love the sound of crickets as long as they arent right under my bed. The nice thing about having reptiles is anytime an insect annoys you, you get to send him to "the tank"
its like a mini colleseum game where the winner is garunteed and so is your satisfaction

if theres just 1 cricket i get pissed fast, if there are a few or more then i dont mind, they dont bother me when theres a few going at once, but just one is just pathetic and annoying.

Yeah I have a beardie but I can't stand the crickets. I freak out if they escape the cage when I'm putting them in or anything :B

Are there no alternatives to feeding reptiles? Are crickets the best?
>> Anonymous
>>314788
Sure, there are alternatives, but crickets provide them with everything nutritionally they need. When beardies get bigger though, they eat more and more veggies and less crickets, though. He'll eat mealworms which I can give him by hand, but crickets just make me cringe. I have my crickets in a little cage kind of thing that has tubes and they climb up the tubes and I shake it in the cage. No touching of crickets at all :D

Crickets....
They're black and make a lot of noise at night while you're trying to sleep.

They sound like the niggers that live in my apartment complex.

Not all crickets are black, you know.

Yes depending on the reptile there are many choices. Silkworms are probably the best, very clean and nutritious but expensive and will only eat mulberry leaves. Roaches are more nutritious than crickets, cleaner, live longer, and if you get a breeding colony going they will be super cheap.

I just recently switched from crickets to superworms. But I had to wait til my beardie was at least 16" long. If your reptile can eat supers they are a better alternative to crickets.

No more escaped crickets hiding inside my bedroom wall keeping up for 3 nights in a row!!!

Me and a friend were digging a hole to put up a ham radio antenna, and found a literal fuckton crickets with little digging arms. We named them Crickamoles.
