I have just a small technical question for you guys. Why cant crows or ravens be kept as pets in the U.S. At least I read that on some official site a bit ago. What makes them unsuitable for pets, whereas other birds may be kept?

In civilized western countries, keeping wild animals as pets is illegal. Perhaps this is a sign that there may yet be hope for the US.

an old law which protects all north American wild fowl from being kept as pets.

This is why in movies the crows have white chests (sometimes dyed black) cause only south African crows are legal to keep.

There is a bit of a grey area with domestic turkeys and ducks that tends to be overlooked.
