OK, question for you /an/.I found three ticks on my dog today. I pulled two of them off with a pair of tweezers but I wanna know if there's a way to get them off that's less painful for my dog (both times a piece of his skin came off with the tick, so I figured that meant I got the tick's head too but it must hurt my dog like hell). I read online that rubbing vaseline on one to suffocate it is an old wives' tale, but if it works I figure it would make this a lot easier. Does it work?tl;dr Does putting vaseline on a tick really suffocate it and make it easier to get off a dog?
Rub them. Fo serious. Just rub in circles around and around and the tick comes out. There is video of it on youtube if you are somehow confused.
You need to get a knife and dig around the area to be sure of the tick being gone. I know it sounds cruel, but it could save your dog's life.do it faggot

You can buy kits from pet stores to do it, they have some alchohol based substance to make the tick sleepy and remove its head then a plastic thing to safely remove all of the tick and it won't hurt the dog
You should be carefull when you remove a tick. Grab them close to the skin and pull them out. Slight turning it may make it easier and less painfull.DONT USE ALCOHOL! That makes it empty it´s stomache which can cause infection.
You can make ticks dizzy by rubbing some alcohol on them and then take them off easily.
>>258429We always took a dab of nail polish to a tick's body whenever my cat had one. It seemed to work well enough.
Stop being cheap and just buy some frontline.
Light a match, let it burn, blow it out then put it on the tick's back. It makes the tick remove its head and you can grab it off.
