So there I was with a fallen baby morning dove, its nest out of ladder reach.I don't know what else to do but try to keep it alive and release it when it can fly...I've been looking stuff up online but i need help...Especially re: feeding; how do i make it eat? What should i feed it? (It opened its mouth a bit for water, and oatmealy mush but it doesn't seem too enthusiastic...)Thanks /an/, our lives are in your hands.(pic related, not the one i found but it looks about that age)Thx, /an/. His life is in your hands
sorry for redundant thx-OP
http://www.zupreem.com/animal/bird/nourish/embrace.shtmlThat's what we've always given our baby birds. You will definitely want to consult an avian vet or breeder before doing it yourself though.
Is there a wildlife center near your house? Taking it to one would be the best thing to do.
awww my doves just had babies but i didn't have to feed them my birds fed em but it must feel nice to save a baby bird
>>327549thanks although>>327551Yeah, I'll give them a call in the morning...I guess I was just worried they might not take it...doves aren't the wildest of life.
>>327560I volunteer at one and we take them in all the time!
>>327566Ah, this is a relief.
>>327578you can usually take them to shelters too. We would take wildlife, and get ahold of the appropriate places!
FYI... "Mourning Dove", not "Morning Dove"... so-called because of its mournful-sounding vocalizations...</birdpedant>
d'awwwwoh wait. Can the poor thing live?
