Ok, /an/, I have a ~6 month old Jindo that I've had for about 2.5 months (pic related) and I need some help with her. Typically I take her out to run 3 times a day (aside from just taking her out to go to the bathroom) and we play for about 45min to an hour in my yard. The problem is that I can NEVER get her to come inside when it's time to go in. She knows the "come" command and listens to it just fine when we're inside but when we're outside she'll just ignore me and then when I try and catch her she just runs around and dodges my attempts to catch her. I've read that I shouldn't let her off the leash even for a minute if she doesn't listen but I've also read that Jindos need a ton of exercise, which she can't get on the leash. So which is it? Also, it's often raining or below freezing outside and it still doesn't seem to make her want to come in even after 30-45 min and I can't imagine that it's very good for a puppy to be out in the cold that long but she just wants to keep playing and never seems to get cold. I've tried using treats but she even ignores those when she's outside. WTF can I do to make her listen when it's time to come inside?

Killing it with fire works, I heard.

so I guess you didn't actually research the breed, didjya, hotshot? bc if you did, you'd know that jindos are extremely independent dogs who don't give a flying fuck about obeying.

(that said, never chase a dog, you dipshit. run in the OPPOSITE direction, and praise heavily with treats and praise.)

you're too stupid to own a dog.

Listen to this woMAN

- get off your fat ass, put her on a leash and run with her like crazy

christ, if you're too lazy to have a run with your dog, maybe you shouldn't have gotten a high-energy dog, dipshit. and letting it offleash outside where it can be hit by a car, or otherwise fucked over is just plain stupid.

hi, dog park? hi, fenced yard? hi, baseball field?

Yes, you degenerate fuck, I did research the dog and I know they're independent, but that doesn't mean I'm going to leave her outside in below freezing temperatures because she doesn't feel like listening. Running in the opposite direction has no effect, and if you opened the epicanthal fold in your fucking weeaboo eyes you'd see that I've tried using treats and she ignores those as well but thanks for playing.

Where did I say I let her off leash where she can get hit by a car? I have a huge fenced in yard that I let her run around in. The problem is I can't get her to come back inside from the yard. Also, she gets plenty of exercise when I take her out, again, 3 times a day for 45min to an hour, just to throw her ball so she can exhaust some energy.

The problem isn't that she has too much energy because each time I take her out I don't stop throwing her ball until she stops chasing it and starts walking around slowly as if she's tired. That's when I try to get her inside but she wants no part of it she just wants to stay outside and roam around the yard.

yeah, yell at us because you got a dog you can't handle.

we're not the ones getting slant-eyed dogs bc they're so goddamned kawaii.

do some fucking research on clicker training, get a 100' lunge line, and stop being such a fucking douche.

she's not going to freeze to death. let her stay out until she wants to come inside, stupid.

also she's only six months old.

for another year, at least, she's going to be a huge cuntbag and never listen, so get used to it.

Maybe OP's yelling at you because you started off being a stupid twat. God damn.
>> Anonymous
maybe the OP's a stupid shit who doesn't deserve nice things?

ever consider that?
>> Anonymous
Maybe the OP asked a reasonable question and you guys are just assholes.
>> Anonymous
what the fuck's "reasonable" about "halp i dunno how to take carez uv mai dawg!"

he's got an adolescent dog of a very independent and aloof breed bred to withstand very cold temperatures, and he's all "why not she wants to be inside n watch me playz wif myselfs?"

>>199899
That's.. not the vibe I got from the OP at all. What's your fucking problem?
>> Anonymous
>>199851
She's never gonna listen so lace her food with sleeping pills and carry her in.
>> Anonymous
wow /an/, what total assholes you are.
This person is asking a decent question and you go off being dumbfucks again.
OP, you're better off asking in some Jindo forum, people here will be no help.

Jindos are outdoor dogs. I don't know why you're trying to keep her inside. Why can't you just let her be the yard dog she wants to be? Most don't mind a little rain or cold.

Mind you, you gotta tie up the dog or else she may scale fences for the fun of it.

>>199867

It's because the dog still thinks you're the kid it grew up playing around with.

jesus everybody, stop your whining.

I had the same problem with my GSD/malamute mix dog. The key is all practice and how you go about the situation.
DON'T CHASE HER - you're making it a game. She thinks it's fun, so of course now it's her ritual to run away when you try to get her. If running away doesn't work, try lying down - most dogs will go over to investigate and see if you're alright.
Never get impatient with her, yell, or hit her/punish in some way when you get her (you didn't mention this but I'm adding it just in case). She WILL remember it next time and she'll just become more reluctant to come to you.

Expect it to take a while, there is no instant fix for this problem. Take her outside and practice come on the leash. If you call her and she doesn't come, go and get her and then praise her as if she DID come to you - you want to really drill that it goes 1) you say come, 2) you two are together, 3) treats and praise like no tommorow. Make a BIG deal of her when she does come. If you need to, get a long leash (20 or 30 feet - you can buy them at any regular pet store) and practice on that before you move offleash.

OP here. Thanks to those of you that offered helpful advice. Despite his being an ass I took the advice of>>199881and>>199992(who was not an ass but very helpful) and I bought a long training lead (30 feet). When I got home I took her out for about an hour with it and called her to me every couple of minutes. About 5 minutes after we started she started to grasp the concept of coming to me when I called her and she was all about receiving the praise that came with it. This time I had no trouble getting her to come inside, she just followed me right in. I've also got a new type of treats which she will receive ONLY when she comes in from being outside so she will associate that particular reward with coming inside when I call her. I guess now the key is just being consistent with it.

get an extra long "call and return" lead and practice in your yard, she'll pick it up after a couple of days
