Hi /fit/,

Yesterday at around 5:45 PM, I saw a wounded squirrel in a graveyard and I didn't know the phone numbers for Animal Control or the Humane Society so I went to a tree about 15 feet away, got an acorn and put it like 6 inches in front of the squirrel. The squirrel slowly turned away, but then I put the acorn right next to the squirrel, the acorn touched it in fact. The squirrel turned away again and its tail brushed over the acorn. I picked up the acorn again and put it 6 inches in front of the squirrel. The squirrel rejected the acorn a third time, and that's when I left. Like 10-15 minutes later, I washed my hands with normal soap, and 10-15 minutes after that, I washed my hands with Purell (some Antibiotics hand sanitizer). What do you think, am I at risk for like rabies or something?

See, that's the thing. I get this dilemma thing going on whenever I see posts like these. One side of me tells myself "omg it's 4chan, yes there absolutelys HAS to be some dumbass newfag idiot out there who really thinks this", and on the other hand I think "this person has to live under a bridge and this is not worth being replied to seriously."

What should I do?

1. Rabies is a virus. Antibiotics do not work against viruses. Just soap and water would have been fine.

2. Rodents, including squirrels, are at low risk for rabies. Rabies also tends to spread in summer more than winter.

3. You can only get rabies by being exposed to the raw nerves or the saliva of an infected animal. Usually this is through licking an open wound on you, or biting you.

4.If you're at risk for it, well, you were supposed to get the vaccine started within 6 days from possible infection. By the way, shit hurts.

Proof that /fit/ is the dumbest fucking board.

You have to go back and find the squirrel and shove it in your ass. It's the only way to cure rabies.

Don't worry, OP. If you didn't get bitten, and you didn't get scratched, and if it didn't lick a bleeding wound, you're OK. You touched an acorn that touched its body. And you washed your hands after that. And besides, squirrels don't often get rabies, and even if it was rabid, the kind of contact YOU had with it just doesn't count.

And even if you do get sick, just remember that death is probably like a long sleep, very relaxing. And everyone dies at some point, so what's the point of being afraid? Just take a deep breath, fap to a busty girl, and relax.

Also, only one person has ever been cured of rabies.

Why the hell would you give a wounded squirrel an acorn?

OP obviously wanted to help it somehow and didn't know how to any other way.

i'm glad he glared even if it was a failed attempt.

Sigh of relief there.

>You can only get rabies by being exposed to the raw nerves or the saliva of an infected animal. Usually this is through licking an open wound on you, or biting you.

Yet another sigh of relief. I guess I'm fine.

you hurt the squirrels pride and that is why it turned away. also you are untrustworthy.

squirrels can be really stupid. once i put a pice of toast on the fence to feed a healthy squirrel. dumb shit knocked the toas aside and chewed on the fence.
