Taxidermed Blue Jay Anonymous
The Blue Jay (Cyanocitta cristata) is my favorite bird. I was wondering how I could get a hold of a real taxidermied Blue Jay (not some stupid antique wood carving of one). I know that some birds can't be touched or killed or whatever due to wildlife protection laws. Would a taxidermist except a dead Blue Jay if I brought one to him?

no. you and the taxidermist can get in big trouble and any good, or smart taxidermist will tell you to get it the hell out of his shop.

i remember seeing on ebay some guy had a bunch of bird(raptors, songbirds, etc) skins that were from a museum, and many had permits to have them. might of had a blue jay, dunno lol. i don't know if he's still up there but you can look under the taxidermy section or just look up bird skins.

another way is to talk to your game warden and get a permit/license/whatever. i've heard of people obtaining certain birds that have died by natural causes/roadkill. but since its hard to tell, you most likely won't get it approved and you could be waiting months, even years to find a blue jay that has died from natural causes.

I was also wondering what specific type of permit/license I would need for a Blue Jay in order to get it taxidermied.

maybe that depends where.

in FL they are invasive and realllyyy destructive.
if its an INVASIVE species it has to have a higher level of commodity, thats just common sense.

getting a bluejay stuffed is like getting a squirrel or freshwater bass stuffed.

Are you seriously? WTF. The term "invasive" refers only to animals which were introduced into a non-native area by humans, reproduce, and cause damage. Blue jays are NOT an invasive species in FL, as they are indigenous (look that word up if you need to) to the entire eastern half of the US and lower Canada. Also, most states and provinces have laws against killing, injuring, or harassing them, not because the are rare or threatened, but because they are considered a migratory bird species.

The term Invasive Alien Species refers to a subset of introduced species or non-indigenous species that are expanding outside of their native range and are likely to cause harm to the economy or environment or human health. A species is regarded as invasive if it: has been introduced by human action to a location where it did not previously occur naturally, becomes capable of reproducing in the new location outside of human actions, and spreads widely throughout the new location. In simple terms, an invader has to arrive, survive, thrive and cause harm.

Okay, so they are a migratory bird species, so what kind of license/permit would I need in order to be able to get one taxidermied?

you cant, give up faggot

ok do you have some kind of necrotic-bird fetish?

yeah theyre nice birds, but only allive.
if youlike them that much, go bird watching or something
you dont have to kill it. thats fucked up.

that would be like taxiderming pretty women just because theyre nice to look at.

Why would you wanna kill a blue jay, they are by far my favorite bird and the main reason is cause they have little attitudes, and killing them would take away that attitude, killing animals for trophies is wrong.
