Man I'm sorry to hear, but glad you got your dog looked after in time.
Most bones are dangerous, even large ones, as if the dog splinters them and consumes a splinter, you could be dealing with some seriously bad shit.
Chocolate, as you probably know, is also poisonous to dogs. So are mushrooms, coffee and cocoa, onions, and grapes. Obviously the degree in which any of these things will effect your dog depends on your dog - we had a golden who would beg for onion and we would give her a little with no side effect. She was the only one of our bunch who lived without health problems until 15 - maybe she was able to resist the toxic effects of onion?
Things with Xylitol in them, like chewing gum, are also seriously bad for dogs.
