No, nearest vet's 30 miles. I just gave it something to drink and eat with a pallet to rest on. It seemed to be walking later that day and now it seems fine. Also the way I was raised, animals were sort of expendable or interchangeable. I know, I grew up around some assholes, but I figured a vet would be overkill. I seem to be the only one around here who seems to give a fuck about it. Looks like no one else is feeding it much or steadily. But it's always got a home with me.
Anyone else ever get stray cats sleeping in their engines. That's the second time it's happened in 2 years here. The first cat wasn't so lucky and it ruined my week and it's still hard to forget about. The first one got hurt sort of bad and was freakishly defiant when you would try to grab it. So I called the local animal control thinking they'd have a humane way to deal with it but the guy just got a broom and started stabbing/poking it to get it out. From what I hear about the local animal control, it was probably dead later that night. Their way of dealing with them is to just take the strays out and shoot them in the country. It's the smalltown, cheapass way of doing things. I fucking hate this town sometimes.
