I've kept crickets in the past and I've kept caterpillars until they cocooned and butterfly'd. I've also had lice on two occasions but there was nothing pet-like about those.

I kept a Preying Mantis as a pet years ago, was suprised to find one in the bushes near the mall in Reno at night

I had a face hugger once. It looked like the one in OP's pic, but that one is terribly malnourished.

Well, I didn't have a bug per se, but I did have a black widow spider. She passed due to old age a few months ago. =( RIP Mickey!

I caught a pregnant spider once. Brought the results into school for show and tell.
