Sexual dimorphisms differ from species to species. Just because human faces are easy for us to read does not mean our pets' genders are revealed by facial features.

Toms are typically larger, but different breeds have different sizes, and a female of one could be larger than the male of another. Then it gets even more complicated with mix breeds.

1. Sometimes you can tell, if you have multiple cats from the same breed/litter. Mature males tend to have wider cheeks and more robust facial features in all. If the male was neutered young, there may not be a noticeable difference.

2. Males tend to be larger, but not always.

3. If you are referring to domestic cats, they usually find a nice peaceful spot and sleep there. Depending on how confident the cat feels, the spot may be in the sun and completely visible, or hidden and under the shadows. They do not build or dig nests.
