No, no no!
Not at all like 99% of ferrets in pet shops. They have a natural ferrety smell, but imho it's not as noticable or gross as dog smell. There's a few tricks to minimizing your ferret's odor.
1)litter train and clean out box 1-2 times a day. 2)feed meat based food that's low in fish oil. Totally Ferret, Innova Evo, Marzuri 3)Don't bath unless they're actually dirty. Shampooing removes normal oils/moisture and triggers the body to produce even more to make up for it -ignore common mythology, people who own ferrets long term know better than to bath them often. 4)use cloth bedding. I give mine a few piles of old shirts and wash them weekly. Most ferret odor collects on old bedding, so I just wash it away.
