I have a corn snake which won't eat it's mouse meal. Any help or suggestions??? (Pic related' that's my snake)

My boyfriend has 2 of them, too.

1) It isn't hungry?
2) It's ill, take it to the vet
3) Try to hold the mouse right in front of his head.

I fed it two weeks ago and i usually feed him every other week so i think that it should be on an eating schedual or something. My sisters boyfriend said that it could be because of him shedding, but i want to get multiple opinions.

Oh!
They can't see them just before shedding. Wait 'til he's finished.

no yeah usually they can see them/smell them. they dont necessarily rely on sight to hunt.

in shedding they might just be not interested. post shed, try feeding it. also one mouse every two weeks seems small for an adult corn. one fat adult mouse per week or two every two weeks would be better.

What you must do is take the snake out of its enclosure and place it on a table while you sit with it preferably at eye level.

Then you must take the mouse and devour it yourself, this will teach the snake to eat any future mice. The snake will also then fear and respect you.

If you want to get it to eat immediately you can pre-chew the mice for the snake. Just chew it up into a mush in your mouth, then regurgitate it back to the snake.

This will both nourish the snake and gain its trust. Remember, if you don't teach your snake to respect you it will not obey your commands and will try to usurp power from you.

Never let your guard down, these creatures are sly and malicious.

Try dipping the mouse in chicken broth.

If that doesn't work, smash the mouse's head open to expose it's brain. It has oils that give off a strong scent snakes go ga-ga over.

if the snake is used to eating mice and has only eaten mice, it is scented to mice. dipping it in chicken broth is not going to make the snake want to eat it. read the thread, snake is probably shedding before you open your genius mouth again.

Why not? I've had her for five years and still eats.

Before she sheds, I also give her a warm waterbath. It helps.

Then the snake will see your dependence on machines. Snakes are not to be trusted. this is no joke. Once it knows your weakness, it's all over.
