So I've had this betta fish for a year or two right?

Well last week I noticed some sores had formed around his body. I went to the pet store, bought some fish medication, and have been putting that in his water for a while.

Well today I find that the fish is pretty much half dead. He's pale, puffy, and has been hanging close to the surface of the water the whole day. So my question is, what is the best way to put a fish out of its misery?

put him in a small bowl of water and put him in the freezer.
he will pass peacefully since he's cold blooded.

or smash it with a hammer. both is fine.

Just don't flush it, that'd be a shitty death

cutting through his neck with a sharp knife is another acceptable method. for a fish the size of a b. splendens, that pretty much means cutting off his head.

Dude, your missing the point.

Get another beta fish. Put it in the bowl. The loser gets flushed, the winner is your new pet.

Under the list of protocols for acceptable animal euthanization, bolt throught the brain would work. CO2 can be used. Though a method I suggest is banned, but is fucking hilarious, take a fire extinguisher and suffocate it. Its banned so someone has to have used it before as a common practice of animal euthanasia, am I right? Or a bag of dry ice. Your choice.
