Hey /an/. I had a ferret for about 3-4 years before she died just a few weeks ago. ( thats her in the pic ) I've been thinking of getting a new ferret, but I don't want to make the same mistake as I did with Slinky. I know I couldn't have helped her getting a cancer tumor cause thats common in ferrets her age, but she rarely got to go outside and play and only sometimes would she get to run around inside, do to siblings complaining about her getting into their stuff.Any suggestions on what to do ahead of time so that my next ferret will have a way to play inside? We never let her outside in fear of her running away, and she wouldn't stay in her little collar for too long. I don't really know much about ferret toys and stuff, so any kind of advice on ferrets would be great. ( yes know it was stupid to buy a ferret when I hardly knew about them )
Get it a cat. Cats and ferrets are best friends.

When you take a ferret outside you can't use a regular collar because their heads are about the same width as their neck. You gotta use a body harness that keeps them secure.
if you think you'll pay more attention to the next one you adopt. ferrets can be trained to stay in one room in the open & use a litter box :] they also have ferret harnesses you can use to take them on walks like you would with dogs.
