So I bought one of those triops kits, set it up, and dropped the eggs about 45 hours ago and still haven't seen anything. So far it doesn't look like anything has hatched, am I going to have to do this over?

Did you jizz in the water?

It depends, did you use tap water? Actually it doesn't matter. These guy can drink in all the lead they want, they'll survive it.

Be careful not to overfeed your triops, as this will make the water cloudier and disgusting. In addition, over feeding will drastically reduce the oxygen levels, meaning you have to clean them out!

I use distilled water and had no problem. My Triopes are 3 week old and are 5cm long now. And are laying eggs allready ( I get 50 to 80 eggs a day). But I also have an unknowen (to me)addition to my tank. Can anyone ID this thing? It is 3cm long.

Looks like brine shrimp (sea monkey) I'm getting distilled water, and I'm to try to salvage what eggs I can to start over

I had triops once, but they were too disgusting to keep when they got big, so they took the magical ride down the toilet.

I remember within the first few days, they're incredibly small and translucent, so you have to look really close. In fact, I don't think mine were really visible for about 3 days.

Still better than a cat.

Is there anything else that will co-exist with triops?

That is, that will live easily in the same habitat and not kill them.

Do brine shrimp live in FRESH water? Do they growe to 3 CM in size?
Triops will eat almost anything including each other.I feed my triops carrots.

It may not be a brine shrimp. I've caught freshwater shrimp before. They're usually quite small when full grown, and three centimetres are about the maximum.
