1) Treat your pets with the usual flea control stuffs. Aside from the usual ointment on the neck, there's a type of pill that causes your cats' blood to turn poisonous so the flea drinks it and then dies.
2) Spray the vacuum cleaner bag with insecticide and vacuum the house every fucking day. When done, throw the bag away. If you have a cyclonic bagless vacuum cleaner, make sure to spray the filter with the insecticide and empty it every day.
3) get a sack of celite. It's a type of earth that is used as a drying agent. This can be found at one of those huge hardware + gardening stores like Home Depot. Sprinkle that shit everywhere using a sieve or a flour sifter, leave for a week then vacuum. Rinse and repeat. WEAR GLOVES AND A DUST MASK when handling celite. Depending on where you got it from, it can contain powdered glass, and also, because it's an extremely effective drying agent, you don't want it near you. You're also better off locking the cats away in the bathroom at this point in time.
