Okay /an/. So I just got back from Petsmart with two female rats and their amenities. These two rats were in the same cage at the store, curled up and sleeping together. But now that they're home they HATE each other. They keep fighting with each other and squeaking horribly. No blood drawn yet, but I'm afraid to let this go on. WTF should I do?

Feed one to a snake. (Or eat it yourself?)

They'll settle in a bit, females don't do well with new things, so they're just jumpy and scared...so long as they aren't hurting one another they should be fine.

Keep an eye on them though.

My two girls "fight" all the time, but they never hurt each other. They still curl up together and go to sleep after it's over.

My boys fight a lot, too. As long as no serious harm is done, it's not a problem. Also, if you can break them up easily, it's not a problem. Anytime my two boys fight, if I run my fingers across the wires of the cage, they lose interest in each other and try to chase my fingers.

are you sure they're not just wrestling? my rats wrestle all the time, and sometimes the younger one squeaks, but she squeaks about everything. they're probably just nervous about being moved around and whatnot.

No blood, no foul. Like said, keep an eye on them, and don't stick your hands into a squabble.
