Can you have a Lynx for a pet? I will be living on a farm north of Boise for the next 4 or 5 years and I know some one who knows some one.

no. You'll ruin their life.

Get yourself a pixie-bob. That's the closest to a real lynx anybody should keep as a pet.

Yes, you can. I suggest rubbing raw salmon on your hands and genitals before going to get one, though, as that will speed up the befriending process.

you people are idiots. I had 15 acres and the opportunity to build a large enclosure and care for big cats that were overcrowded in the local exotic animal shelter. You can have big cats as 'pets', but you need the education and the space to do it. Cougars and lynx are rather affectionate, but they can't be cooped up, and need a complete enclosure. Had I the time I'd have done it.

Those aren't pets. They're just wild animals kept in captivity.

Last time I checked, that is how all "domestic" animals started out, PETAfag. It's a good thing you weren't around ten thousand years ago, or we wouldn't have any goddamn companion animals.

LOL WUT?

You should definitely check again if you think pets started out as caged beasts.

Not caged, "captive." Even if we go with caged, with the possible exception of cats and a few cattle species kept by nomads, most domesticated animals were caged or fenced. Do you think horses, cows, goats, and pigs hung around people because they LIKED being herded and eaten? Even wolves/dogs were kept caged or tethered. How about gerbils, mice, rats, guinea pigs, rabbits, and hamsters? Sure, they're not "caged," they're free-roaming right?

Either you PETAfags really are fucking stupid, or you are a very good troll. Learn history and animal husbandry before you start making shit up.

Sweet, I also live in Idaho...

A few days ago a girl told me she breeds Bobcats with three different Siamese cats, and she tried to sell me some. I asked if they were legal to keep as pets and she said they are if you have a license. So that's all you need, I guess.
