Sharks aren't that scary, even the so-called 'man eaters'. They avoid people in most cases. Shark attacks are ususally the result of curiousity on behalf of the shark. Scientists compare sharks to dogs; they see you, wonder what you are and come up to investigate. The thing is, the only appendage the really have to check you out is their mouth. Once they realise what you are, they leave you alone. Shark attacks result more often in injury than death.
Whereas crocodiles, which I AM afraid of, attack to kill. I'd sooner swim with a shark than a crocodile.
