Taming Arowanas Anonymous
Can anybody give me a few tips on how to tame an Arowana? As in, nor having it freak out when I get to close and overall tolerate people...?

Dont tell me about Google, it wasn't very nice to me.

My fish sense the vibration of my footsteps.
Next fishtank I set up will have a dampener sheet below.
Avoid noises at all.

How to tame it?
Err, I use to sit still and don't move in front of the tank, after some time the fish get used to me.

They never really do get "tame" as most other fish do (Begging for food, following you from his tank, etc). It is naturally a very skittish type of fish, and will probably always get spooked by quick movements or strange people near the tank. The best thing you could do is just try to get it used to your presence by being close to the tank during feeding time and stuff like that.

make sure you have a secure lid on the tank

a friend of mine used to keep arowanas, but they kept shooting out of their tank and dying from dehydration or suffocation or whatever you want to call it

In amazonia they shoot up to 2 meters to catch bugs on trees.

....yeah Paramedic but how does it taste?

Op here, I heard putting another fish in the tank to keep it company as well as to give it competition for food would be a good way to distract it from things going on outside the tank.

Anybody tried this? Any luck? Does it even work?

Also, thanks for the info earlier.
