Seconded. My sun conure is so cute and polite, he'll try to eat anything you eat and if he's on your shoulder and needs to take a dump he flys back to his cage first.

Guess I've just had freak experiences, then. Most of my experience is from my sister, who neglects the hell out of her pets, so her conure just screamed and bit all the time. And the rest I encountered while working at a petstore.

Oh? The conures I've worked with at pet stores were always pretty well mannered, but maybe that's because we got them very young, before they're fully weaned. They always ended up being complete cuddlebugs (if you'll excuse the really gay term but goddamnit they're so cute!) and just loved being around people.

they have calls that can carry for three miles and one left a nice, permanent indention on the top of my right earlobe when I was trying to tame him down.
