I think the real question, the one the OP was trying to get at, is are strawberries BAD for kittens? And if so, why?

Personally, I don't think strawberries are any worse for kittens than they are for humans. Given in moderation I don't see a problem. Too many strawberries could upset kitty's tummy, and cause diarrhea (too much fruit fiber+too much vitamin c), also, the sugar isn't good for kitty's teeth. But I think one every once in a while isn't gonna hurt them.

As of right now, there haven't been any effects that have been noticable enough for the ASPCA to list as poisonous, but your pet may be the first!

If my cat wanted to eat strawberries, I would let her have a little bit but not munch on a whole one.

Actually the human digestive system has evolved to treat many kinds of carbohydrates, because we are omnivores evolved from herbivores, while cats are obligate carnivores, and therefore can't really digest - or even taste - sugars. So I doubt a kitten would even like strawberries very much. Some meat or fat-based treat should be more up their alley.

My cat enjoys apples. In fact, my cat will kill babies for apples. I can't even eat one around him, unless I want stitches.

Every cat has its perversions. For our tom it's pastries. Everything from cakes to pies of any kind. Cookie dough will do fine too, when within its reach.

Mine likes any form of bread. It'll jump on top of the table and stare directly at me and then meow for a piece.

My cat likes mayonaise and marshmallows. No idea why. But we'll find bags of marshmallows chewed open once in awhile.

One of my cats that used to be a stray will eat anything I eat. It's frustrating when I eat a can of raviolis and the cat jumps on my chest and takes it off of my fork.
My cats all have identity issues.

Tell your cat to enjoy its blindness and vitamin deficiencies.
