Can someone please tell me a reliable site that they visit with information about the night sky? I'd really like to know when the next lunar eclipse visible from my area will be.Also ITT: celestial bodies and the night sky.Thank you!
This one is not too bad:http://spaceweather.com/
I used to have a screen saver that changed like the night sky years ago. It must still be somewhere, out there, on the net.
http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/eclipse.htmlHas eclipse maps for the rest of the century if you want to plan that far out.
Get Stellarium. It's a good observatory program. http://www.stellarium.orghttp://www.fourmilab.ch/nav/topics/astrospace.html has a bunch of cool widgets for astronomy.http://www.wunderground.com has free star maps. Just check the weather for your location and scroll down.Space Weather>>308489is good because it'll keep you up to date on various night sky events. Also http://www.jackstargazer.com/ which always gives good information for amateurs and naked eye astronomy.
>>3085312nd on Stellarium. Words cannot describe its awesomeness.
