SCORPIONS.

What's the deal with them? How much to set up + look after? Good pet? Should I get 1? Or 2?

I'm in Australia by the way, so no crazy American scorpions unless I actually can get them here in Victoria.

not a whole lot to set up, I used to keep mine in half gallon glass tanks with sand on the bottom, a small heating pad, a shallow water dish, some sort of hide away(dried wood usually), and a heat lamp...
as for care I cleaned their tanks once a month, fed them medium crickets about a dozen every two weeks, and supplied water when neccessary...
out of the seeral kinds I've had my favorite would have been my bark scorpion, but then again they're kinda venomous...

I think here in Aus the easiest ones to get are the Rainforest or Desert variety... but yeah I wasn't sure which to get... and what cost I'm looking at to get it all up and going.

I have an old fish tank, it's pretty big, (not sure of the litre/gallon specification) but I think it's a little too big for just 1 scorp, so I was probably going to segment it with a piece of glass/wood or something, so I can have 2 enclosures.

Thoughts? If I can find the tank in the shed I'll see if I can measure it up.

emperors are best, and most common, and you can keep a good number of them together with little to no problems. their sting is about as bad as a bee sting, but they pinch more often than sting.
