I'm a plant nut and I think that the genus Hydnora is the wierdest of all (pic related). It's 100% parasitic and the inflorescence looks like an alien dick.

Welwitschia is pretty cool, it only develops 2 leaves in its entire life time. Thing is, they steadily grow at the base and die off at the tips.

parasitic to what host plant? is the host shown in the pic?

They parasitize mainly euphorbia or acacia, depends on the species. For some interesting pics:

The biggest seed in the world belongs to the coco de mer, or Lodoicea maldivica. It takes 6 to 7 years for the seed to mature and another 2 years to germinate. Weighs up to 40 pounds.

Fungi aren't plants btw. Yeah, they don't move and grow in the dirt like plants do, but they can't do photosynthesis (but they can team up with algae to make lichen) and they are heterotrophs (eat other organisms) Fungi is more closely related to amimals than plants.
