That doesn't make any sense.

One of my rats is starting to horde all the food and is getting fat. If the other rat tries to take any, they fight. She never used to do this. :/

Here's a cute picture of rats that aren't mine.

Perhaps wild rats.. but domestic rats are very clean.

there's a saying, pigeons are rats with wings (cause they eat anything and live anywhere) so basically a rat is a pigeon without wings????

I think wild rats have such a bad reputation. They're amazing creatures. If one is sick or injured, the others in the colony bring them food. If a mother is tired of taking care of her pups, an aunt will watch and care for them while she takes a break. Rats have complex a society and when listening to music have the same brainwave reaction as humans.

They are the second most successful species on earth. Though, not more then a couple hundred years ago, they were THE MOST successful. They were here before we were, and will be here long after we're gone.

Pigeons? Next you will say bats are a type of bird since they are warm-blooded flying animals.

Pray tell what is the best and do not say humans, scientist currently say we are going to poison our environment beyond our adaptability between 2050 and 2075.

Not best, successful. As in lots of them. Humans have the most individuals of all species, rats have the second largest population. Science cannot be disputed. There is no 'best'.

I love rats.
There's never been a time in my life where I haven't had one. :D

Rats are the best pets I have ever had. Even better than dogs, and I love the hell out of my dogs.

People say "They can't be THAT good," but they are. Go pick up a male from a pet store (because bucks tend to be nicer), it will cost you five dollars at the most. Don't worry about colors. Get the biggest, fattest, ugliest rat in there. You have just bought your new best friend.

We had one die a couple weeks ago and we're still heartbroken about it. We let her out of the cage to run around the house whenever she wanted to. She would chase after your feet when you walked, play with the cat, and try to steal whole damn pieces of pizza from your plate. Many times I would be standing in the kitchen and she would climb up my leg to see what I was cooking. The interaction you can have with these animals is unbelievable.

Go buy a rat. Go buy ten of them.

Ants are the most successfull. They have more individuals and their combined biomass exceeds ours too.

Would ants count as individuals since they all work in a hivemind?

All the rats I've had have been male.

But recently I got a female, and she sucked. I ended up giving her away.

The rat I miss the most was William. He was awesome.
He would sit on my shoulder, and just chill there all day.
When he had to go potty, he would tug on my earrings until I let him down, then he'd run off to his cage, do his business, and scamper back up my arm.
Sometimes I took him for walks in the yard or on the beach, and whenever he wanted to go, he'd bring me his little harness.

He died at the ripe old age of three and a half.

rat tails creep me out
>> Anonymous

It never makes any sense to me when people say that.

It's a tail. There is nothing scary about it.

Rats have surprisingly mean claws as well as teeth that are very damn efficient at piercing human skin, but people choose the TAIL to be turned off by.

In some (all?) cultures, large penises are a sign of authority and power - maybe a large tail is subconsciously threatening to some people.

Their tails actually have a very fine fur over them, they're pretty soft to the touch.

"All the rats I've had have been male."

Yuck, that's totally gay level 7 -- Tom Cruise gay, in fact.

I have 10 rats, all females, We recently got 3 sisters, Keito, Buchi, and Flonne (weeaboo, yes) the first day they were playing tag and licking our hands, when their quarantine is up I'll be introducing them to the other 7. Pic is Big Boss Kiwi (the alpha)

Uuuh.. Noo.. When they are young the tails are soft and nice to the touch but as they get older/larger it gets rougher and scaly.

Rats are adorable. I recommend male rats. They tend to be cuddlier, although I've had some extremely mellow female rats.

This one is Dylan.
