Best filter for a 20 Gal Anonymous

Fluvals are great, though if you're only stocking a 20g, I'd go with an Aqua Clear for 40-50g's... regular ol' hang-on-the-back but they work well.

Aquaclear make really good HOBs, and you can customize your inserts very easily to increase your bioload, which will help you avoid ammonia spikes.

First of all, you will want 2 sponge inserts (you will have to trim one) and the white bioload ones. You won't have to replace anything nearly as much as they say (probably twice every year, make sure to alternate) and you will only ever need to use the activated carbon after you medicate or need get anything else out of the water, and even then it will be usless after about 3 days so just hang on to it till you need it.
