My experience with Carefresh is that it tends to be dusty, packed down mess within a day or so (though it has less dust then any of the dried pine or aspen wood shavings I've experimented with), and is absolutely nasty when wet. The best I've found so far is is the eco-bedding, a shredded, crinkled paper type bedding used in labs that is dust free and easier to clean up. It also doesn't pack down, meaning droppings don't stay on top, and it is significantly cheaper then carefresh.
A good fortified diet and daily greens (preferably dark greens like Kale) should provide them the amount Vitamin C they need. I originally gave mine supplements, but found they did fine without them.
I agree on the cage size, but don't be fooled by how easy they claim the C&C cages are to clean. I had one for three years, went through various configurations, and always found the process to be a laborious chore and that the plastic tended to hold stains and odors. Now that my two are older, I've switched them to a nearly 3' by 3' manufactured rabbit cage (raised floor removed, of course) and found the cleaning to take half the time and be twice as easy.
