WAT??
>> Anonymous
It's that one of those climbing, coconut-eating things?
>> ????
coconut crab. I so want one as a pet. I'd train it to hide on the ceiling and drop on those who I commanded it to kill.
and it would be named bitey, and I'd spraypaint "'sup /b/" on its shell.

those things are REAL? *shudders* I'm so glad I don't live there...

>> ????

oh come on. they're awesome. kids touch them with handfuls of grass and they think they're near the ground and let go of the tree. they don't even get hurt by the fall, they're too hardcore. they can pinch off a finger easily but the only real danger is that they might drop a coconut on you from a tree.
they are the best crustacean ever, and that's from someone who really likes crustaceans.

Coconut crab apparently make capable pets. They're technically giant hermit crabs, minus the need for a shell. They're a bit aggressive, and if planning to keep one, you'd require a steel cage as these guys are strong. The only water they require is to keep their gills moist so they can absorb oxygen. They apparently love to eat coconuts, bananas, and other fruits. They're also known to eat dead animals and anything else organic. So yeah, generic over sized scavenger.

They could get pretty big if you let them eat everything. Also if you're out camping with these bastards around, lock everything in a box. They open & eat all your canned food!
