Yes but if your horse ISN'T in a petting zoo and thus having foods that should be reserved for occasional treats shoved at them by every person who walks in, there are plenty of tasty things you can give them. Apples and carrots are good, a few cut up in their feed is kinda like putting fruit on cereal for us. Generally there aren't many other fruits/veggies that they'll eat, but it's up to your horse. Other snacks can be clover, oats or a saltlick. A personal favourite is molasses dissolved in hot water, it makes a nice warm drink on cold days.
