Everytime I see crows or ravens I get the urge to pet them or something. They are so cute in their own ugly way.

Awww! Yay! I love ravens and crows.

Crows, jackdaws and ravens are the best. It's sad that there aren't really any ravens where I live, I think I've only seen one irl once. Crows and jackdaws are really common though so that's nice.

Lol, if you search for 'raven' in Flickr, you get pictures of this fat, buttugly wnb-goth chick called Stacy Raven.

See, even the ravens are laughing at Stacy. She says she's a model too, you know, a real one.

For the first time in my life I witnessed crows in two different cities doing that "drop nut in the road trick so cars will crush them open". Interesting animals.

Great thread and nice collection. I like watching these birds while waiting for the bus. There's something about their jerky movements that makes them fun to look at.

There's just this something about these birds.. I don't know. The general shape, size and the beautiful black feathers. Ravens, crows and jackdaws are love. I don't really like any other kinds of birds at all.

I try to avoid uploading pictures that are boringly similar to each other. I used these originally for drawing references so I have them pretty much at all angles and poses.

Awesome thread. Everyone where i live seems to hate crows, but i love them to death. Beautiful birds.

Lately, been seein' a lot of these guys around campus.
I find their mimic-calls amusing. Heard one do a very impressive bald eagle call a few days ago.

I once met a Native American who could speak to crows. He did a few crow caws and with in 5 minutes there were half a dozen crows flying around watching us.
I remember her saying that the number of caws have different meaning. I can't remember but like 1 or 2 caws means "Hello" or "hey come over here check this out." She also said that 4 or more caws means "Danger." I'm sure they have a very practical crow language but so far I only know those 3 things.

Where i live, crows will sometimes gang up on a hawk... It's intense mid-air action!

i've only ever seen a raven like once though. Can sum1 post a pic with an easy size estimate?
>> Anonymous
I worked with ravens in Austria, doing cognitive evolution stuff, somebody should archive this thread so i can send it to some of the people I worked with later, K thanx
>> Anonymous
There is a pair of ravens living in the forest very near to my home. Sometimes you can even see them flying over our yard, making those unmistakable raven croaks while they go. They're really big for corvid birds, with wingspans well over a meter. I think I've read the body of the raven from beak to tail can be almost a meter long.
