What do you feed your bunnies, and how often? I've been feeding mine mostly with that big bag rabbit pellets they sell in Walmart for $6, and some carrots and other veggies sometimes.

our rabbit loved salad and apple but he didn't like carrots too much. he also loved what we call "marie-crackers" here, but beware; these have quite alot of sugar in them. also, be sure to give your rabbit fresh fruit, and not too much at a time. and make sure he eats right

wouldnt worry about what you feed a rabbit, they dont live very long anyways.

ja, mariekjeks :p jeg vet ikke om de har det eller hva det heter der OP bor :p

they're fragile critters and prone to dying. sees something scurry, and its going to die from fright.

10 years old? That's way too much. I'd wage the meat was too stringy and tough and you had to boil it. Rabbits should be killed at age 2 at most.

Mariekiks. XD

Most stores will have all-round rodent pellets which are just fine as long as you supply with washed (not dripping wet) vegs and fruit every so often.
A lot of bigger animal stores have sort of a buffet where you can mix some luxury food in a bag. Your rabbit will love you for it. :D

Pellets, Toast, Veggies, He licks up Dr. Pepper and SoBe from my fingers, Pringles and other fattening snacks... He'd probably eat rabbit jerky.

Pop tarts and coffee grounds - same as my diet.

He's 8 years old and his hair fell out, but otherwise he's fine.

don't give him so much bad food. our rabbit threw up and was very sick after he ate some potatochips after a birthdayparty of mine years ago.

Do they really have mariekjeks/kiks/kex in the US?

I have no idea, I guess so. At least something that tastes kinda the same. If I remember correctly, they have something similiar in Portugal.

I have two bunnies, and this is what I feed them every day:
-3 types of fresh veggies in the morning, 1/4 cup pellets
-3 types of fresh veggies in the early evening, 1/4 cup pellets
-Fresh hay is available all day in their litterpan- hay is very important to their digestion! Make sure that it is NOT alfalfa hay, as that has too much calcium in it. Orchard grass and Timothy are the best hays. I just get a bale of timothy every few months.

Every night I give them each a papaya tablet to help prevent hairballs. Every 3 or 4 days I give them each a little bit of Petromalt for more hairball prevention.

For the pellets, make sure that they have at least 15% fiber content, but the higher the fiber the better.

With veggies, try not to feed them high content vitamin A veggies every week. I give them romaine lettuce every week, plus an herb, and I rotate the herbs and third veggie for variety. This week they're getting parsley and collard greens. Next week they're getting celery and cilantro.

He's been in the family for 3 or 4 years now, and was like 1 or 2 when we got him, and he hasn't gotten the shits or thrown up or anything. Your rabbit was just a lightweight.

Mine eat grass, grass, grass, sometimes they get hay, pellets and carrots. A broccoli is fine too. During winter, they eat bark. Sometimes they get nuts, acorns that have fallen off of oaks.

I'm only worried about those who eat lead because the government hates everything that isn't a big fat SUV. :p

2 tablespoons of 16% Nutrena rabbit pellets in the morning and a handfull of hay at night. A little bit of carrots and pineapple (helps with hairballs) apple only in small amount, be careful as apple seeds are posin to rabbits. Then again all my rabbits are 1) rather small dwarfs and 2) show bunnies that are kept on a strict diet.

Rabbits should have as much grass as they want, and then some more. After all, this 90% of what they eat in the wild.
>> Anonymous
Yeah, grass, or hay. Timothy is fine, like someone said.

Mostly this, and lots of attention. Always have some hay available and those food sticks they have to gnaw off.
