My cat has killed AT LEAST 4 birds and 4 rats over the past week.

He's known for bringing us corpses regularly, yet lately it's gotten a bit scary. He leaves something outside the door at least once a day, sometimes twice. Yesterday I had to toss out a perfectly intact sparrow on my porch, lying on its side frozen in a look of terror. Also, it should be noted that this cat once went to the trouble of DROWNING a rat. I'm fucking serious. He held it down in his water dish and drowned in. Goddamn insane cat.

And yes, that's insulation he's sleeping on. He's been doing that for quite a while now. Shit's full of fiberglass, but he doesn't seem to care.

You know, just because the cat likes to do something, doesnt mean you should let it.
As an owner of thumbs and the designated caretaker of the cat, it is up to you to keep it from doing dumb shit. Like sleeping on insulation.

You are aware it is glass, right? And that it can get in your lungs and shred them? And that many people have severe skin reactions to touching fibreglass insulation? Maybe your cat is suicidal.

Also, please keep your psycho cat indoors and not allow it to slaughter things, thanks.

This cat could kick Crush's ass then fuck it hard and long.

our cat did this, too. We think it's some kind of offering to you as his master. His way of appreciating you.

One of our cats also brought small rocks from outside. He was doing it daily. Brought one rock each day. now that was weird.

Well cats are some of the meanest motherfuckers in the hunting world, so what did you expect?

I wish we let my cat outdoors earlier, problem is he's too purdy. He's a long hair tabby/maine coon mix and his fur gets too icky when he's outside. Though one night he did get out and brought home a mousey =\

Cats rule.

Yay! Let it breed so we can make birds extinct by 2010!
>> Nyarly
The shit my cats do isn't even funny. Consider yourself lucky you found a perfectly intact sparrow. One of mine made one pigeon cover our entire back yard in feathers and gore.

Your cat loves you so much it goes to incredible lengths to get you the perfect gift and you just complain! Damn you humans can be ungrateful bastards.
>> TrueDoom
cats are cool like that, interetingly enough, the reason they leave it on the doorstep, is because they want to share their prey with you, wanting to be praised for killing. shallow bastards :D

Get your cat off the fiberglass, and appreciate the gifts it gives to you.

That was a gift, you bastard. A gift for the family.

Cats don't really offer 'gifts'. What they're doing is attempting to teach you to hunt. They see you walking around looking stupid all day, and not even bothering to catch your own meal and they figure "Holy shit this moron is dumb, I'll get something to eat for him so maybe he can LEARN to not suck so hard."

Cats are dicks.

READ: Go out and buy a collar with a bell (or a few bells) on it.

Sounds like you have a hardcore cat. Thats great. Rename him Rambo, or Chuck Norris, or some shit.

I always took dead animal 'gifts' as a sign of respect. The fact that its getting 'scary' just means your pet is getting better at hunting.

The fur probably insulates it from the irritating effects of the fiberglass. I might be a little concerned about the longterm effects of inhaling shit like that though. It will sleep on fiberglass because it is warmer and more comfortable than anything else around. Remove the insulation if you are concerned, or cover it somehow. Just be sure to replace it with something that is comfortable and warm.

If you think you might ever want to PET THE CAT, you may want to throw an old blanket over the insulation. Fiberglass in hands and paws is NOT fun.

my cat doesn't really bring home any animals.. but for whatever reason he's become the "gang leader" of cats in this neighborhood he doesn't go looking for fights from what i can tell but when he gets challenged.. he fucks up the shit whoever tries to mess with him he's pretty much the dominate cat of the neighborhood now.

i'm proud of him and yet somewhat disturbed because he's a very sweet & affectionate fella indoors.

No, if they wanted to teach you to hunt, the "gifts" would still be alive and able to squirm about. Cats bring dead animas to you because it recognises you as the dominant member of the household, and therefore you get the first dibs on a hunt.

Have you ever seen a mother cat bringing food to her young? First she brings parts of the carcass, then the whole carcass, then a half-alive animal for the kittens to kill, and finally a living (but beat up) animal for the kittens to go after.

My cat seems to keep bringing home lizard tails. It's pretty sick watching the thing keep on squirming and twitching like a mini snake with it's head bitten off.

So what's the problem? Your cat is a badass.

I love it when my cats bring home dead stuff. It makes me so proud of them. The best was one morning when this guy came in with the biggest rat I have ever seen.
I keep a list of stuff they bring and they get medals for doing well, as well as for being in fights and standing up to dogs.

This cat came to my yard and started to bug my dog who was behind a mesh in my house. Well my dog ran and broke though it and killed the cat. Am I liable for the cats death and have to pay the owner for it or what?

Not if it was on your property. If your dog bust into someone else's yard and killed their cat, maybe.
