My new 2 month old kitten. Just got her from the animal shelter Sunday. The picture sucks,I can't get any good ones with her close up. Ever since we got her home, she's constantly purring (and I mean constantly) and tries to meow every once in a while. Cute.

Should it seem like she's straining to meow? She got fixed yesterday, but is moving around ok. Just, when she tries to meow, her mouth opens for a lil bit, then a little squeak comes out.

Aww, I love when they're kittens and their fur goes in every direction.
>> Arutima
still a bit too young for adult meowing

God. Hey: move her food/bowl and water dish away from the litterbox. If you're using quick clumping litter, that shit'll expand in your cat's intestines and cause obstructions. Which means death since you'll have no idea what to do.

Plus, there's a reason why we don't shit where we eat. It's unappetizing.

Agreed move the food farther away from litter.

they make a kind of mat that you can put under the litterbox, or around it, it will take the litter out from the kitties toes, you should look into that...

Yeah, the placement at the time sucked, but it's all moved now. I had everything moved to that side so I could put up the baby gate and all.

That is probably one of the cutest kittens I've seen all day, though I generally agree with the food comments. Why not move the dish into the kitchen?

My cat is mentally and physically prepared to kill your kitten.

I really considered getting one of those

but $5-10?

I just used an old bathroom rug to put underneath and it works perfectly fine trapping litter, I can roll it up tight and shake it out outside.

Just dont use the bathroom type rugs with the rubbery chemical backing, even brand new they attract cats to mark it

I'm keeping her in the guest bedroom for now to keep her away from my 3 yr old cat. The kitten just got fixed,so I want her in a small area so she's not all over the place, increasing the chance of the glue separating.

Also, my older cat is not too happy. She's the greatest cat in the world, got her when she was 7 weeks old and she grew up with 2 dogs. Then she was an only pet for a year and a half. Guess she got used to that, cuz when I take her near the room the kitten is in, she hisses and goes nuts. And if you go to pet her after you're done with the kitten, she growls and tries to swat at you. So,after about 2 weeks of being in the room,I'll slowly introduce the two,and hope the older cat calms the hell down.

It's great that you got her from a shelter rather than a pet shop, so many cats are put to sleep if they are kept in the shelters for too long so at least you're giving her a good home =)

Don't lie and tell me you've never eaten anything while taking a shit.
