Does anyone here know if African Elephants and Asian Elephants are like lions and tigers, re: they can breed with each other?

don't know about breeding, but yes, they are the same as lions and tigers in the sense that only in kenya

Actually, IIRC, female ligers are fertile, (ti-ligers and li-ligers, and stuff.) Same with female tigons. It's just the males that are sterile.

i can't remember where (probably crapopedia) but at somepoint I read an article on the independence of species going from totally independent where they cannot breed at all, can breed with totally sterile young, can breed with only male sterile young, can interbreed freely.
