So what's /an/'s suggestions for the most under-rated animals? For me, it is the noble and mighty pig. They're intelligent (more so than dogs), friendly if domesticated, and the piglets are cute. You can even race them. Does /an/ agree?
>> FatOldBenzGuy
yes, there is no animal closer to us.
They even look like they have human skin.

I agree. Pigs are the tastiest animals second only to cows.

Hyenas are pretty awesome, but momongas are very underrated.

Cows. They're incredibly important to the economy and we eat, wear, and utilize so much of them, yet no one ever thinks about the animals behind the meat. They're probably the one animal that has suffered the most from human treatment and abuse. Moo... :(

I second hyenas. They got a bad rep.

The feminist in me agrees with hyenas, the consumer in me likes cows, but I think I'll go with bonobos.

hyenas should be shot down to the last one of 'em. I'm not even kidding

please explain why

bahahaha, cows. if left to their own design, the only thing cows do is stand around and chew and occasionally make a new cow. that's it. as for pigs. i'd say their intelligence is marred by how they live IN their own shit, eat food mixed in with their own shit, and attempt to eat anything, including each other. pretty much baby anythings are cute, so that's not saying much.

Bonobos are awesome, they need more love.

Also, considering that all female spotted hyenas are reverse traps, you'd think the freak-seeking population of /an/ would give them more attention. Oh well...

I'm to tired for a long explination, so I'll just say Bats.

Pigs, if given enough space to live in, do NOT wallow in their own dung. They are actually pretty clean animals. Yes, their shit stinks, but show me an animal whose shit don't stink!

Cows express excitement when they learn something new.

Humans should live more like bonobos. Instead we take more closely after greater chimps and fight all the time. I'd rather human society be based on rampant sex than rampant violence anyday...

Yes, indeed, the bovine "eureka" moment. A fascinating piece of research. My friend is scared of cows.

groups of male chimps have been known to seek out others just to kill them for fun.
