Hello /an/. Turned out my dog is obese (it's really hard to notice under all his hair). I was running with him when he was younger, but now he's gotten lazy and doesn't want to play much. So I'd like a healthy diet for him, and some info on motivating the bastard to work out.
Please help, /an/, I want my dog to be healthy.

Go ask a vet, you retard.

I agree-- go to your vet and get some diet recommendations for him. Ask for the specs of a good diet, don't just buy something from the vet, since some of the "vet only" diet foods are no better than the kind you can buy at a pet food store for less.

Otherwise you can switch to a reduced fat or low calorie (or senior, if your dog is aging) food on your own. As for motivating him to exercise, no need to worry about that-- just snap on his lead and take him for a walk!

Start slow and build up if he's out of shape- -short walks every other day, then short walks every day, than longer and longer ones.

It's simple to get a dog to lose weight, though not always easy.
