I heard koalas don't need water, is that true?
>> Anonymous
It's true in that all the water content they need they get from the consumption of their food - Eucalyptus leaves. Which is a wonder really, considering Eucalypt leaves seem really dry to me...

Their faces seem so innocent. I feel sorry for them.

If you think they're innocent, you should hear the males during mating season. Sounds like a bunch of gorillas are getting raped.

And those claws are pretty fucking hurty.

Koalas don't NEED water. It doesn't mean they can't drink. And do you see any of those leaves around? Nope.

Yes, koala's will drink from water sources if the Eucalypt leaves they are eating aren't providing enough. They do this so they don't dehydrate, amazingly enough. You'll also find deer will lick salt deposits during spring time and a fair few birds will eat clay.

And that, friends, is why i wake up finding dead koalas in my pool on occasion.

Yes, they do NEED water. Every animal on the fucking planet NEEDS water to live.

Koalas just don't need to DRINK water in a liquid form since they get their moisture from the leaves they eat.
