Need help identifying a lizard.

I cought him inside my house, he looks like the lizard in the pic, but his markings are different.

It's back is red, the rest of its body is a sandy brown with the red from the back dispersing into a mottled pattern.

thats one of the whiptails common in the southwest...checkered, california, sonoran tiger...there's a shit ton of them that look just like that...need region to round it down..there's so many plus varients, subspecies and hybrids
