Alright /an/ simple thread to take us back to our roots.
Post pics of your pets.
This is my cat and her name is abby, she is a 12 year old abby tabby (coincidence).

His name from the pet shelter was Baby. He's a 21 pound inbred wimp. Straight from a home with that little old lady and 100 cats. He's really retarded, but he likes petting. Also, afraid of everything.

I Now call him UTBAC, Uttie for short.

Fish, won him at a carnival last summer. He's gotten bigger and turned orange. Hoping this one will outlive my last carnival fish, Prince, so 12+ years.

Hoover, found him in an alley in Chicago as a kitten, named after the way he eats, like a vacuum cleaner.

UTBAC is short for Under the Bed Again Cat.

Last pet that I have a picture of, Aiko. No idea where she came from. My aunt brought her home one day.

She's kind of a bitch, but she has a hoarding habit, in this case she made off with my mouse.

Yay pet thread. We have one like, every day but I enjoy all of them ; o;

I like Tinkerbell because he/she looks so angry you named them that.

This is my cat I got from a lady over Craig's list. She was rescued from a million cat lady house where she lived indoors and out. She had worms and earmites but those are taken care of now. I think she's a runt because she's so little. She is the sweetest cat I've ever had, always wanting to sleep in your lap or chest and loves giving kisses. I sound like an adopt-a-cat ad. I need more cats.

aww look at how cute..

TINKERBELL IS NOT AMUSED

I LOL'd. Tinkerbell doesn't care what I call her, as long as I give her food.
Also, cute cat.

Huh, Yves, I didn't know you posted on /an/ too. I've only ever seen you in /cm/.

Anyways, 1/2.
My dog Wolfgang (As in Mozart), we call him Wolf or Wolfy. This is a rather old picture, though; he was probably about a year old when this was taken. (He's 4 years old now.)

2/2.
Relatively new addition to the my little family, my cat Lucifer. (When she was adopted her name was Lucy, and that's what we call her, but for the sake of her malicious tendencies, it's been decided that Lucifer is her full name.)

I get around, but I mostly post with a name only on /cm/ /c/ /y/ and /cgl/ I just forgot to remove my name and e-mail fields. Playing with my cats and my turtle are pretty much what I do when I'm not posting on /cm/.

>>257381
What colouring is this? My friend has a cat like that and I've always wondered. I think they are quite pretty.

What colour would you call her? She's beautiful :D I have a cat with that colouring and I've never seen one like her IRL, only a few posted on the internet.

I asked my vet and she said they call them blue tortoiseshells.

This our new kitten, Emperor Buttons (for his button-like cute nose). He is a ragdoll and such a sweetie. We brought him home yesterday and our year old ragdoll Ozzie is so pissed off, he hisses and makes these fake attacks at the poor little fellow. Anyone have any ideas how they could become friends/neutral? Emperor seems to be indifferent about Ozzie, though...

I've introduced a new kitten today too. My plan of attack is:

- Separate litter boxes
- Separate feeding areas
- Monitored contact
- Let them sort it out on their own
- Don't hover or be worried, it'll make them anxious

In the end, they've got to sort out their own pecking order. You've just got to be there to make sure they don't kill each other! And of course, these measures don't have to be permanent, just until they get to be best of friends.

My other two cats, I had an adult who's brain damaged and so mellow as all hell, and introduced a tiny 1 month kitten to her. They're the best of friends as adults, except for when play-fighting becomes too rough. Otherwise they lick each other all day and sleep on top of each other.

This grand cat is named Baldwin. My cousin's cat had kittens and my parents allowed my brother and I to have one each. He chose a gray and black-striped tabby which he named Puma and I got her.

I named her Baldwin because she had bald spots on her head. She's 8 years old now and we're best friends.

This is Noobatron. His likes are his stuffed owl toy that he drags around the apartment, cuddling and being dramatic (aka if I don't let him out of the ferret/comp room where their cage is he will sit by the door and flat ferret till i do). His dislikes are being confined and any sort of raw meat is poison to him. He is also very smart and now rolls over infront of a door if he wants out. He's my baby!

This is Jitters, he is evil. He steals EVERYTHING. He has found a way to jump on the side of the computer slither through the opening in the tower, and jump on my chair then to my desk to steal everything off of the desk. He also has a facination at stealing magazines and taking them to the bathroom and only the bathroom. He really likes raw chicken wing. And is VERY shy and skiddish

Interesting. I usually post with this name on /an/, /c/, /cm/, and /w/. Used to in /x/, too, until I changed that to "Another Zombie."

But to answer you guys' question, it's a Dilute Tortoiseshell pattern, one of my favorites. Sometimes called Blue or Cream Tortoiseshell as well. It's actually a modified version of the regular, darker variety of Tortoiseshell, but instead of carrying the B(black), Oo(Sex-linked Red), and D(dense/dark color) genes, the cat carries B, Oo, and dd(dilute--recessive form of the D gene.)

Here's another picture.

Hmm, looking at them on wikipedia, the dilute tortoiseshell they have has tabby markings, which my cat and yours don't have. Google shows the right kind though!

How odd... So many of them have the half-and-half markings on their face. It's weird to see cats that look like my cat, who's so unique looking!

I hope im not too late, this is my baby, we rescued her from a pound when she was a few months old, also, this pic is like a year old, dont have any newer. When we took her out, she had various problems, the most serious being distemper, i shit you not, we spent like the equivalent of 2k dollars just to cure her, and she came from the pound! Honestly though, she won the lottery by getting adopted by us.

Surprising enough it didn't freak out. Though part of that calm was induced by shock. The break in it's wing wasn't as bad either, though making sure it didn't flop around and try to fly away was a major contributer to it being able to heal without complications.
