I found this in my back yard, does anyone know what type of spider this is?
No clue, but I would advise killing it with fire.
it's a garden spider...kill it with much fire and burn the ashes afterwards.
i forget the name but they are relatively common spiders. they have a neat little trick they will do. if you blow on the web the spider will bounce the web back and forth to try and catch passing bugs.
I think its this one ... a black and yellow garden spider http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argiope_aurantia
if its not that, its definitely something in the Argiope genus
The common name is 'bannana spider' big, yellow-and-black, not to mention completly harmless. leave it be. they eat wasps.
>>139329nope, banana spiders are golden silk spiders. This one has a different shape.Definitly a argiope.
Lawl i will help ya its this onehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argiope_bruennichi
>>139333"banana spider" much like "daddy longlegs" can refer to several different creatures. That black and yellow argiope, a golden silk spider, or a great big huntsman that's commonly found in banana shipments.
>>139761I think I found one of those crushed in between a bunch of bananas (where the bananas all stick together). It was one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen, It was dead long enough to be black and gross, but not long enough for it to be dried out.
orb weaver
