Dear /an/,

I don't know where else to go for this, so I'll ask here.

My cat has been coughing/hacking and throwing up lately. We've taken him to the vet (the first time this happened, back in November) and they said it was pneumonia, but it's happening again months later with the same symptoms. During his X-ray, we saw that his lungs were solid objects, and I don't believe that's.. normal.

Any ideas on what it is, /an/?

Picture related.

Love,

You should first look into your cat's dancing problem.

Please take it to the vet. A respiratory infection is the sickness that kills the most cats. Don't think "It just has a cold", because a cold is a respiratory infection and it can turn to pneumonia really fast, like 4hr. Tomarrow's sunday and an emergency vet is sooo much more expensive than a regular one.
Lots of kinds of animals can't fight off colds like people can.
But 4chan isn't the best place to ask medical advise. I just know this because I've had a couple cats almost die from that. I dunno why your cat would have gotten one again so soon. Is it outside or inside?

Inside. We took him to a vet once already, though, and they didn't do much other than charge us a ton of money to X-ray him. =/

Protip: Try another vet.

Unless you live in a microscopic town or out in the boonies, cities/towns usually have more than one vet.

It probably needs antibiotics. That's lame that your vet didn't help. One time my vet said my cat was fine, when it really had an infected broken hip, and was really dehydrated. We took it to the emergency vet like 2 hours later and they said it almost died. (It had gotten outside and maybe hit by a bike or kicked or something.)
Make sure it isn't dehydrated. If you can pull a part of it's skin and it snaps right back into place, it isn't. Put it in a room by itself to make sure it's eating, drinking, and bathrooming.

Do not mtrust vets, most just go for the cash.

The warmth of lit zippo fuel will cure it! I promise!

are there any other marks on his x-rays, like anywhere else in his body? How old is he? He could have cancer...

look up something called google FIP. Don't mean to scare you, but the signs/symptoms don't sound good at all. Did the first vet do a chest tap?
