Inky

1991 - 2007

An older, distinguished lady who wasn't one for radical displays of affection in public, but who knew how to show her true regard for her human companions in private with copious cuddling, purring, kneading of kitty claws and the occasional gift of a dead vole on the doorstop in the morning. Her friend the malamute, Thor, might have been ten times her size but she taught him to respect her when he was a mere puppy with her fearsome claws across his nose, giving her distinctive clawmarks the nickname "Adidas" (The Brand With Three Stripes).

Lover of sunshine spots, stealing hotdogs from the table, evaporated milk and cheetos, Inky feared the vacuum cleaner and found listening to birds to be an agreeable way to pass an afternoon. Her hunting skills were topnotch and her beauty was the stuff of legend (all the male cats in the neighborhood would serenade her many times a year).

Sadly, a sudden seizure took much of her remaining vitality, and in a charitable and merciful spirit her human owners regretfully concluded that she had accrued enough honour that her ancestors would welcome her to the feline afterlife of eternal night hunting and eternal sunshine napping. At 4:42pm Pacific Time on March 21, 2007, Inky took the final beauty nap of her earthly life and no doubt has awoken in a much purer world.

Well-wishes and prayers for Misstress Inky, may she find peace. She lived a wonderful life. With sympathy,

The OP has approached "Diana's Piano" levels of sentimentalism.

My condolences. Inky sounds like she was a real sweetheart. ;_;

Sorry about your kitty. She sounds like she was a great little lady.

So what did you do with the body? Burial? Cremation? Taxidermy? Other?

Pic related.
>> Tenno
;_; I'm sure all of know how OP feels... I lost my cat Max last year on the night of thanks giving(of all the nights...) She was 21, and she was doing so well until few weeks before her death she had gotten an infection in her mouth.
We were able to get her antibiotics and it seemed like she was recovering, but I guess her body couldn't recover from such a trauma. To this day I cry about her death, as I type this I'm crying ;_; Anyway enough of that ;_; I hope OP will remember the good times he/she had with Inky.

(-_-)

My condolences to the OP, and also to those in this thread that have been through the same, I feel silence is better here, so I've no advice. I too will mourn for Inky's passing with you...

That made my eyes start crying :(

Did notice how /an/ isn't called "Pets & Nature"?

You are an asshole sir.

As for inky, may she rest in peace.

We shall pay our respects by lighting up the grill and having an old-fashioned Korean barbeque.

Bast would be pleased.

I'm very sad to hear of your loss, as are many on /an/. The loss of a beloved pet is hard and a sad thing to go through. I'm glad you had many good times with her, and I hope that in time you will recover enough to find another pet to share your life with.

Contrary to popular belief, pets are animals too.
>> Anonymous
The animal kingdom is ever so much larger than the usual /an/ posts might lead you to believe. How I miss the 'no pets' rule of old.
>> Anonymous
aye, inky, rest well and may ye hunt with yer ancestor felines; amongst pastures filled with prey and meadows filled with greens. may butterflies flutter about you and the sun shine with beams o golden hue.

The "no pets" rule is what killed the last board. It got like three posts a day until moot deleted it and replaced it with a board where pets were allowed, which has thrived by comparison. There's nothing stopping you from posting wild animals if you find pets so offensive.

Wow, OP, that was a fine tribute to your departed friend. My condolences.
>> Anonymous
I'm really sorry to hear that. :( I just had to put a cat down a few months ago for a broken leg simply because the vet wanted $3000 to fix it and I couldn't afford it. At least your kitty lived a great life.

So what did you do with the corpse?

You ate it?

Or did you fling it around it's tail at midnight while naked?

Lots of fun things can be done with a cat's corpse.

You can even use it as plant food. Like a lot of people seem to do, when they bury it in the backyard.

If you eat it yourself, 'Inky' will become one with you. A part both physically and mentally.

You'll poop a lot of him out of you though.

And you might contract some filthy diseases.

Spoiler: Heaven does not exist as any such place that humans hope to be in when they die, heaven is simply a metaphorical state of mind

Spoiler: Therefore it does exist.

Protip: The bible is not meant to be taken as any form of literal historical factual literature!

Wow. You have to be a pretty big asshole to bring up your narrow-minded, cat-less Christian view of heaven in a thread like this. I bet Jesus wouldn't approve.
>> Anonymous
i wanna cats to go to heaven, earth would seem meaningless without cats. likewise, heaven would be too.
