sup, /an/Can anyone help identify the critter in the pic? These guys have been showing up in my apartment since yesterday - I've never seen this kind before. What's stranger is that a friend of mine who lives in Norway has also encountered them (she made the photo) for the first time this summer. Are we being taken over by mutant bugs?
its a bug, found all over the world
Anything more specific? Like a name, perhaps?
Looks like it could be some kind of Scarab?

It's just a simple water beetle. You find them all the time around bodies of water like ponds, lakes, even pools. Just take em' and throw them outside when you find them. Their harmless.
definitely a Junebug... they have taken over our garage D:Theyre supposed to be North American
>>119657Yeah, then wtf are they doing in Norway and Russia?

June bug. Very friendly insects.
June bugs are annoying because they fly around like drunkards hitting shit and making noise.
In Sweden tis bug is comon its named Serica alternata, "bun-borre" in Sweden and Brunoldenborre in Norway.
These bugs are mostly night fliers. Attracted to light. Simple don't open windows/doors unless you have screens. This bugs will fly in to the light and circle around it like moths. They are harmless. If 1 crawls on you it may freak you out. There legs have lil hooks on the to hold on good so as 1 walks on you . You feel it with no problem. Plus they freak ppl out because they sound like a bumble be in flight. Once you see its a hard shelled light bug( Have no idea what its real name is)you can rest easy.
