Hi /an/! I have got 2 Chinese Drawrf Hamsters, both male, males of the species are meant to be able to live together and my 2 have been for the past 10 months or so.However they have started fighting, or rather 1 of them is delibratly going and picking fights with the other 1.I think there chage is more than big enough, the ground floor alone is large, and then there is a 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor, each half the size of the ground floor.Despite this the hamster causeing the fights seems to have restricted the other to the 3rd floor. If the other goes anywhere else in the cage the fighter will atack him.The fighter normally stays on the bottom floor during the day and now and then goes upto the 3rd floor to delibratly start fights, then leaves. However when they sleep at night the 2 will snuggle up and sleep together.I have no freaking clue what to do with them, I just want them to stop fighting, the poor guy being attacked all the time now has scabs all over his little tail. Any advice?
No two hamsters anywhere in the world are guaranteed to be able to live together. They can, but naturally, they just don't. Just keep seperate food and water and let them have their respective territories, or seperate the floors.
I had two hamsters, they seemed to be getting along but one of them ended up killing the other, so keep them seperated.
