At 2 am a serious lightning/thunder storm struck in my neighborhood shaking the ground beneath cars and tripping their alarms no less than 3 miles away from me. The lighting is still there, just way further away now. As to my sudden fascination with lightning, lightning meme plz?

Lighting struck my house when I was out on the deck during a ferocious storm, a few metres from where I was standing. The sound was like nothing else I've ever experienced - literally the air being torn apart, and everything went blue-white.

It was pretty awesome but not something I'd want to do again. Bonus lulz for the fact that I had been on the phone 30 seconds earlier.

few weeks ago we had a storm and i heard the loudest boom from thunder i have ever heard. i thought it was a fucking bomb and i just stood still waiting for my house to rip apart in a blast.

once I had a lightning bolt strike about 100 yards from my house. It was night and I was asleep, I don't know what exactly I was dreaming about.. but the person who was talking suddenly whipped out a giant spotlight and flashed it in my face. Then I woke up and heard the loudest crack of thunder ever.

i was in a plane that was approaching our destination and there was a huge thunderstorm that had us circling waiting for it to pass so we could land. it was dusk and it was nice to watch from above. didn't get a very good shot though.

Last year, I went on a trip to Africa for some statistical analysis work (we were tracking black mambas).
We were in Namibia traveling by jeeps and setting up camps along the way during nightfall. God, it was so fucking hot, but the nights were freezing as hell.
