/an/ help my dog! Anonymous
Okay guys, my dog has a serious tick problem-- a SRSLY serious tick problem. The poor guy just gets full of the damn things and I don't know what to do. Powders, sprays, lotions, foams, medicated collars... I've used everything, with no result. The vet gave him a shot that supposedly would protect him for a year against the damn things, and it only worked for about two months. I bathe him regulary (twice a month, or else the bugs will be devouring him) with a solution that has to be diluted in 10 lt of water, and it does work at killing the ticks, but it also says that it's "moderately toxic" and I am afraid that I could be slowly poisoning my poor dog. Please /an/ I am desperate, I don't know what else to do D:

Move to a different location that is not hideously infested with ticks.
I mean, seriously. We don't put shit on our dog, and the only time he got a tick was when we went out camping and brought him with us. Where do you live?

Have you tried to keep the ticks away from him? Er I mean, all those things kill the ticks once they are on him, but are you getting them out of your yard? Keep him out of wooded areas, keep your lawn trimmed low, wash his bedding, etc. Google "tick prevention" or "tick control"

use dropper-adminstered Frontline, and clean the yard. When de-ticking him, drown the ticks in water instead of squishing them-- that will only release the eggs and little ticks. Gross!
good luck anyway- this is advice coming from the owner of a former flea-circus.
