Keep his cage under a blanket so he'll be asleep the whole time

Basically common sense. What>>214802said, it probably won't put your bird to sleep but not being able to see will pacify the bird. Either move him first (if you already have heat/air on in the new house) or leave him for last. Either way, keep him in a quiet room away from most of the commotion until you have the heaviest furniture in. Then let him see you unpack familiar objects (like your computer, if he sees you on it a lot).

>>214815great i hadn't thought of that, ill have my laptop with me on the plane perhaps ill leave an earbud next to him, he loves listening to music, i leave it on when ever i leave him alone.

im bringing his normal cage with me, and he loves the thing so ill set that up prolly in a closet while we finish the moving with the laptop.

while im thinking about it, is it odd for him to never want to leave his cage. i mean he will and as long as i keep him close to me like on my shoulder or so he will stay out in another room. but if he gets the chance he will run right back to his cage.
my other budgie would come in and out but wasnt to concerned with his cage much.
