What kind of spider is this? Anonymous
I found this while I was working in a new house. It's the largest spider I've ever seen in this area. It seems a lot of insects in the immediate are are large actually too...

Found in Taunton, Massachusetts.

is it dead or what? How did you manage to place all those objects by it without it scattering.

It fell from the ceiling after opening the car garage door. So I assumed it was stunned. Although once I finished taking pics, I popped on video funciton and teased it to move. IT MOVES FAST! you can see it's fangs...

I have more, but it's pointless now, there's plenty.

Any ideas folks?

Way too big to be a black house spider.

I thought so too, but I've seen the wolf spiders around here. It's not the same. Also this spider is fast, but not as fast as a wolf spider. Plus the color, hair, and fangs are different.

Do you have any pictures with brighter lighting?

How the fuck did you have a dime, a staple and a measuring tape RIGHT THEN AND THERE where the spider was? And why didn't he run away when you set that up?

Fame hungry Spider? Really an /r/tard in disguise?

As said earlier.
>>"It fell from the ceiling after opening the car garage door. So I assumed it was stunned."

Dime was in my pocket, staple was on the ground since "I was working in a new house," and tape measure ws on my side.

Sounds like a conspiracy to me.

Here's an adjusted photo I did in shop to get the color to stand out more, and brighter.

The spider was obviously brought down by a controlled demolition in a studio against a backdrop of the tapemeasure, staple, and dime.

i am from connecticut and we have those things here as well. they are not wolf spiders, wolfs are smaller, faster, lighter, etc. i am not sure how scientifically correct this is, but i have always heard them reffered to as/ reffered to them as 'wood spiders'. they hang out in sheds and areas near water and are huge and gross but relatively harmless.

Sounds very credible. I'll look it up.

I couldn't find a wolf spider that looks like that. How are its eyes set up?
It kind of looks like a fishing spider.
Whatever it is, it's not a dangerous spider.

It's the big kind, thats what kind it is
