Little known popular culture tidbit.

The multiplatform strategy game Dominions 3 has a mechanic, where the R'Lyeh starspawns may enter the Void Gate to summon otherworldy horrors to the aid of the player.

This exact creature with this exact image scaled down to a sprite is "Visitor" that answers the call and comes to serve the player god. It's a rather powerful astral magician and a viable commander for the forces.

It's funny, since that thing really looks like an otherworldy horror.

Looking for these by GENUS NAME on Google Image Search, I STILL GOT A FURRY IN THE RESULTS. Is google image search specially programmed to deliver at least one furry picture no matter what animal you're searching for? I found viperfish furries one time! VIPERFISH! WTF!?!?!

...I also got a Heironymous Bosch picture, so I guess it evens out?

Species of Helicocranchia are small, oceanic squid (100 mm ML) characterized by having a very large funnel and small paddle-like fins that attach to a portion of the gladius that rises above the muscular mantle. They exhibit a gradual ontogenetic descent from near-surface waters as paralarvae to lower mesopelagic depths as near-adults.

On whatever I was watching on National Geographic Channel the other day there was a tiny fish swimming around inside a big tube-like jelly fish thing. It was crazy and adorable.
