hey /an/, my big sis (16, im 13) is getting a labrador pretty soon, (black one) and we need to refence ( council is a bitch) and im thinking what fence is sufficient, money aside. we have a 100 metre square house. about half of which is house. Is a 6 ft colourbond fence good?.

also, what can i expect, its female and we are getting it from a reputable breeder (north brisbane) can we train it, or whats it like. Need Lab owners help

Yes, the colourbond fence should be good enough. Just make sure the fence colour matches the other fences you share. Labs aren't hyperactive to the point they will jump fences.

Labs are very trainable, and yes hyperactive. So before training I'd recommend wearing her little butt out. They tend to have better attention spans when they're worn out.

A combo of fetch and swimming has the best results for my dogs. (usually only done during late spring-eary fall)but for your little one I'd suggest just starting of with fetch, she'll pick it up naturally. then maybe as she gets bigger one of those plastic kiddie pools for her to play in if the temperature allows. (Mind you they'll still jump in even if there is a layer of ice on top. )

A six foot fence should be enough, although beware if she gets bored enough. They also tend to be diggers.

All in all great loving and intelligent dogs. They'll do anything for their tennis ball, and at the end of the day they'll want nothing more than to curl up at you're feet, on your lap, or even your face while you're sleeping in the case of one of my girls.

Also labs seem to have an issue holding their lickers in my experience so yeah, prepared to possibly get licked to death.
