kudos to crazy cat-non Anonymous
Wanted to thank Anon for helping me a couple months ago with cat-food dilemma

Her crap was powerfully stinky, just amazingly strong - not rancid but smelled like ripe voluminous open-to-air human shit. Now it smells very little, and only at close range.

I switched her food from Purina cat chow (which she was on when I adopted her) to Sensible Choice Weight formula.

While about $2-5 more expensive per bag (lasts about 2 months) it seems to help greatly, and I hopelikemaybeenjoy thinking that I'm making her healthier

Chlorophyll. Get a bottle of liquid chlorophyll and put a few drops in her food, and no matter what you feed her, there should be no horrible odors from her back end. This also works on people.

Its good that you are not feeding her Purina anymore though, as that stuff is.. well.. the phrase 'abomination from hades' comes to mind. Sensible choice is owned by 'Royal Canine', and by looking at their website and ingredients list (and assuming what you are calling 'weight control' is the same as their 'reduced calorie') you can do a whole lot better. It does list "chicken meal" as their main ingredient.. and then "brown rice, corn gluten meal, oatmeal, rice hulls, brewers rice, beet pulp". So uh yeah. Not good.. but it could be worse.

If possible, go for Nature's Variety. Fucking awesome stuff. Also it is supposed to keep the poop smell down without having to add anything to the food yourself. Another good food is Solid Gold.

Just.. don't ever feed her purina again.

OP here
thank yo, modod. Any other anons have similar advice? I primarily received ideal percentages for protein, fiber etc. and explanations of meat meal vs parts. In the future I will seek out Natures' variety and Solid Gold brand after finishing switching to Sensible choice. Some of the independent pet stores in this city sell these more eclectic brands, and now I know why they are ideal
