Ok /an/ I need your help. I've got a rat/mice infestation in my house. The traps do nothing and there shitting all over my room and kitchen. In the last 4 months I've caught 12 of these fuckers. Unfortunattly every night I can still here them and find shit the next day. I'd like to just poison them but that would make an even bigger problem, like how I would remove there corpses. So please /an/ what can I do?

1) Find how they're getting in and close up the holes/gaps/etc.

2) CLEAN UP. Rodents usually come in to eat. You need to remove their food supply. If you are keeping raw foods, then put them in a rodent-proof area: food in the fridge/freezer is safe. Food that's kept at room temperature is OK if it's in cans or glass jars. Bagged foods or raw food should be put into solid containers that they can't smell through or chew through.

3) Clean up your garbage. Take out the trash as frequently as possible. Don't leave dirty dishes or leftovers out in the open. Either put leftovers in the fridge or throw them out and empty the trash right away.

4) Traps. Move the traps around every couple of days, and change the kind of bait you use. Peanut butter is very effective. Keep in mind that trap placement is key. Read the trap directions on where to place them. Random locations are no good. You need to put the traps alongside walls and in corners where the rodents travel.

1) I've closed Every gap I can find.
2) I've cleaned up my whole damn house. But the rats are still fucking eating shit. Yesterday I found half eaten ciggerate butts.
3) Do that already dude.

I've been trying to starve them out, but so far no such luck.

A cat is not a bad idea at all...especially if it is a "working cat". By that I mean a cat that isn't a lazy lapkitty. Most good "mousers" are cats that aren't handled very much.

Call exterminator or set traps if you don't like poison.

Would that be anymore effective than myself setting up traps?

Depends....if you know what you're doing then there's no reason to use the exterminator. The only real benefit to using an exterminator is that they know exactly where and how to set traps....but with a little research on the web, you can learn exactly how to do it too.
