I'm thinking about getting a pet. Either a corn snake or a rat.

How big do corn snakes get?

Will they grow out of eating mice?

And do mice come in bags like frozen bait?

Ah. I worked for the Natick, MA store. Supposedly the west coast stores are spectacular compared to the east coast, but we suck pretty hard. If yours is like mine, don't expect any helpful training of any sort. They basically threw me out on the sales floor like "So you know about animals? OK you're hired."

are you fucking retarded? why would a snake 'grow out of' eating its primary source of nutrients?? i don't think you need a pet. i think you need a biology book.

I meant if I'm going to have to buy frozen rats instead. I assume they're more expensive.

Corn snakes reach about 4 feet or so in length.

An adult could prolly eat a small rat, but Ive never given one anything but mice.

And there are shops online that sell frozen rodents for keepers.

but how much are frozen mice and do they come in bulk?

Cheaper in bulk, with pinkies starting at $16 for 100 and adults $22 for 50, but the shipping is what kills you, since they have to ship them in big boxes full of dry ice. It can be $35-$40 just for shipping. But even with that, it's still generally cheaper to go with bulk over store bought.

And how often do they eat? like once a week?
