Question /an/

A pet shop near my apartment has 3 kittens in the window. The sign says that they are approximately 11 weeks old, they were found in a nearby park and are in need of loving homes. It also says they've had their shots and are spayed and neutered. Is it safe for kittens to be fixed that young?

That sounds kind of young for a cat to be neutered. I thought 4-6 months was the norm.

So did I, which is why I was asking. I mean, they were in the window and seemed to be fully recovered, as the were moving around fine, so that'd mean it probably happened at least a week or two ago. neutering a kitten at 9-10 weeks of age??

>When can I have this procedure done?
>Both procedures can be performed as early as six weeks of age. American Humane is a strong proponet of "early" neutering since this guarantees that the animals will not be able to breed and populate within a community.
