Identification? Anonymous
I was wondering if anyone could identify this creature (or shell/molt). I saw it attached to the wooden plank of a sort of pier at this swamp today. I'm slightly inclined to think that it belongs to a dragonfly, but I don't know. Seems kinda like it has a fat ass to belong to a dragonfly.

Also, it was right above some water (only inches). Couldn't get closer due to a large wasp nest. Any info on this would be appreciated.

Strange thing, but might be a Dragonfly nymph, even with strange abdomen.

Well while I'm at it, can anyone identify this kind of beetle? Picture makes it look like is has fur, but that's not the case. I tend to find dozens of them outside at night near a streetlight.

According to this man's given website, it is "a Ten Lined June Beetle, Polyphylla decemlineata, members of the Scarab Beetle family. The grubs are pests on peach trees, devouring the roots. The adults eat pine needles. They are attracted to lights at night[...]. They sometimes make loud squeeking noises when handled."
