Doesn't necessarily mean you wont see the lights, one time i think it was in the middle of fall i was driving home from Marquette MI, to Flint MI. I think it was around 11pm and i saw a white light was strange but later on the news they confirmed that it was infact a similar occurrence to the norther lights

needless to say there have been some strange weather phenomenons

VERY stramge weather phenomenons. My girlfriend saw the Aurora Borielas (spelling is wrong, I know) in Wisconsin. Has that happened before???

It's not weather really.. cosmic radiation hitting the atmosphere. happens all the time in regions near the polar caps, since the earths magnetic fields is weaker there and doesn't deflect as much of it.
