FROGS 'N TOADS Anonymous
Hey guys, this is my very own garden frog!

It lives in a puddle of water ontop of my pool (tarpaulin on the pool). I have no fucking idea how he got into there because the pool is over 1m high.
I think he's the only one in there, but i'm not 100% sure because the pool has a 5m diameter and is about 35cm deep in the middle with leaves and shit everywhere on the surface.

This little fucker ribbits so FUCKING LOUD from 21:00pm to ~01:00 - 03:00am, you think it sits on your shoulder even if you're in the house.

Does anon know what type of frog this is anf how big it can get? I live in middle europe...
And how did mystery frog leap into the pool?

Pic related, it's mystery frog hangin' onto a leaf

Awesome frog. Our garden pond has about 3 green ones chilling around the edge of the water, with around 12 brown ones just leaving after a massive 4-day orgy earlier this spring. Tadpoles galore.
We believe the ones that return to mate are actually born here, so that circle of life thing is pretty sweet.
Hardcore though, as they have to cross 2 busy, cat infested streets to get to our garden.

I call him mystery frog because i have no idea how he climbed in our pool (no ladder because we are going to get rid of it)

But i kinda like it to have a frog in my garden, i will build a little pool for him before getting rid of the big pool.
I'm going out now and take some more photos, brb

This might help identifying the mistery amphibian.
I have no clue though, I can't distinguish between one species of brown frog and another.
Common Brown Frog? Agile Frog?

I tried to do the same, mine really liked tomato slices.
But they ended up crapping all over their bowl and had to be released, sadly.

Its a Tree Frog. That should explain how he got in your pool.

you can see the suction pads. Looks like a Wood/Chorus Frog. But Those are N.A. frogs that I'm not sure if they are over there or not.

This time of year he is there looking for females. He wont stay for too long. Another 3some weeks and he'll go back to the trees.

Just check for tadpoles whenever u get rid of the pool.

God damn I love frogs. Where is the motherload of frogs in a neighbourhood? They just seem to appear in gardens out of nowhere. They are so fucking awesome.

Pretty sure it's Hyla arborea, the common European tree frog.

Here's some of our garden frogs. Sorry for the shitty res, my digicam is almost anchient.

First up, 3 of the green guys just chilling along the waters' edge. This one was jumpy, so I had to use some ungodly zoom to catch him on camera.

Number 2. Nearly stepped on this one as I was looking for brown frogs under some foliage.

And number 3. This one actually took a nibble from the safety strap attached to the camera, seconds after this shot was taken.

And finally, a tiny brown one I just managed to spot. Again, super-zoom and shitty res, but these guys just love to hide. I'm convinced there's at least 5 of 'em living in the bushes.

So my dad has a nice lilly pond that he made, and recently its been invaded by a great blue heron. So he put netting over it.

The other day I walked by and there was a large frog caught in the netting hanging over theoutside of the pond.

The weird part was... It's lower jaw was chewed away and all of one front arm and part of the other front arm. AND IT WAS STILL ALIVE....

So I cut it out and put it in the freezer.
