Chihuahua diet help? Anonymous
Hi, /an/,
My chihuahua is about 11 months old now, but as of the past couple of months I've been having trouble with him finding and eating toilet paper and little pieces of plastic. I know this sounds horribly irresponsible of me, but I really don't even know where he finds them. Anyway, I know he's been eating it because I've found him whining or crying while he defecates, and found bits of plastic in his poop, and I've also lately lost several rolls of toilet paper to him tearing them up into bits, so I'm pretty sure he's eating at least some of that too.
What I'm wondering is, is there something specific that is lacking in his diet that is causing him to want to eat these things, or is he just dumb, or is there even a problem? Right now he's eating Purina little bites or Pedigree puppy food.
Pic sort of related, not my dog, but same breed and color and such.

Most likely your dog is being retarded. My mom's dog is a healthy horse of a german shepard/retriever mix. Just shy of nine months.

She chews up almost anything she can find. She loves chewing up plastic pill bottles(luckily they've never had anything in them or harmless stuff) and likes to eat cat shit. Both her and my dog love eating dryer sheets.

Your best bet is to put the toilet paper up in a higher place, and do a thorough search and removing any items from her reach. Think of it like baby proofing your house. You wouldn't leave anything potentially dangerous for a baby, so the same goes for your dog.

Most pups do that
My aunt's dog would chew up rags and carpet and she'd have string hanging from her ass

Just keep good with his food and not feeding him table scraps (they can get fat very easily) And take him out to play with other dogs and people so he doesn't get possessive!
