Hi /an/ Im very very nervous today I picked up my "daughter" from the vet, (excuse my English I know is not nice) she got castrated, and I love my cat, I don't want to hurt her, the Dr. told me that I had to clean her every 12 hrs and give her the medicine, but when I try to get close to her she starts to....make noises. you know miaaaaauuuuu and stuff not nice!...it breaks my heart. but I really need to clean her, but im afraid to hurt her.
/an/ plis plis do you have any tips or recommendations... should I give her something nice to eat while I clean her? she likes ham, maybe I can give her a little piece?...
>> Kiki
So, she got fixed? Is that what you mean by castrated?

Just be gentle and re-assure her that you aren't going to hurt her. Treats are always a plus.

Is her medicine in pill form? You can always combine food and pills (ie. pill hidden in a piece of hotdog or cheese.) I know that worked for my doggy.

shove your cock in her mouth while you clean her to stop her from meowing
>> Anonymous
oh the medicine is liquid, and yes she got fixe'd do you think she's gonna hate me now?..
she looks so angry

MOAR HAM!

Cats have short memory and attention spans. Do what you need to do, then let it go. Reward with treats immediately afterwards. She will soon forget, as long as you don't seriously hurt her. She and you will both be fine if you follow the instructions.

Where are you from anyway? Your english is peculiar.

Nah, I don't think she'll hate you. She's going to be sore though, so avoid picking her up a lot or playing too rough.

Liquid Meds are easy! Just add it to canned cat food. :D

Uh firstly, female cats cannot be castrated, but I will assume you meant a spay, and couldn't find the right word because of a lack of english.
Second, a properly done spay should not require any care other than a return trip to the vet to get the stitches removed. You should find a new vet.

What is the status of the wound? Does she have stitches in her abdomen? There should be four to six stitches roughly in the lower center of her abdomen. A little bit of dried blood or scabbing is fine, but there should be no pus, and she should not be bleeding. If you cannot get to your cat's stomach, wrap her in a towel and have a friend hold her while you inspect the surgery site.

That looks absolutely fucking terrible. No vet worth a dime would send a cat home looking like that. They didn't even wash the antiseptic off her (that's what the yellow is.. god i hope that's what the yellow is). The incision is in the right spot, but there is deinfately something wrong with the area around it. Please call another vet and get your cat an appointment asap.
>> Kiki
I see now, when you meant medicine you meant ON the wound, not taken by mouth.
Iodine shouldn't be added to cat food.
>> Kiki
Atleast I hope that's Iodine. o_O
>> Anonymous
no no ok... he gave me 2 medicines... one for drinking with a....arghhh what is it called.
and the other one is like..a yellow liquid like that one on her tummy, to clean the wound.

That is a horrific looking wound. Your cat will be ok, but honestly that is just bad. I've had cats spaded before, and there was just a shaved belly with stitches. Nothing like that.

I'd also recommend a new vet.
>> Kiki
>>130344
Ah ok, that makes sense. It still doesn't look pretty though. :/
>> Anonymous
ok I was worried but now I'm freaking out
>> Anonymous
Bullshit.
The wound looks normal and healing fine.
Just make sure it does not get an infection.

I really don't think your cat is in jeopardy so no need to worry, but I do think you should send your cat for a check up with a new vet. Preferably not one with a degree in madness like your last one.

That is extremely irresponsible of the vet. Owners such as yourself (no offense intended, the worst problems stem from the best intentions) might get them switched and it could cause serious problems to the cat. It is NOT your responsibility to clean up the wound. How long ago was she spayed? They should have kept her at least 12 hours. That is seriously fucked up.

Please, please, contact another vet. Bring all the papers given to you from the current one, which SHOULD have details of surgery and what your cat was given. Honestly, I would contact your current vet and ask for a refund, and if anything happens to your cat, I would not hesitate to contact a lawyer.

ok guyz I hope your'e telling me the true because if something happens to my cat I'm gonna become an hero, I will look for another vet, just in case, but but do you really think that... I mean...OMG! I feel I'm gonna cry.

oh well yesterday was the surgery like at 11am the Dr told me I could pick her up at 5pm that same day, buuut I had an accident...well well drama queen, so I picked her up today at 11:30am, he told me that it wasn't so serious that I could take her home that same day...

I'm sorry if it came across that I thought your cat was going to die. I think she's going to feel like shit and the chances of problems are a lot higher than if she had been treated properly, but poor aftercare won't kill her. Whatever time you were told to keep her inactive, you should double it, just in case.

Follow the vet's instructions but be as gentle as possible, give her extra cuddles and affection and treats, and watch for any sign of illness.

ok ill do my best. even If I have to swim 4km to make her feel ok.

you are a kick ass person to love your cat as much as you have shown in this thread.

I wish I was kick as, because If I knew a little bit more about animals, maybe I could do it better for her. but now I think I totally screw up.

If you want a fucking daughter then MAKE ONE. A pet is not a child you worthless idiot.

Oh leave them be, so what if anon called it daughter, at least they're not an animal abuser.
>> Anonymous
>>131977
protip: not everybody can have children and pets have always been a substitute for that.
>> Anonymous
Not only that, but OP is clearly not a native speaker of English. "Daughter" may not have been the best choice of words.
