Ok /an/, i've got a mouse problem in my house. When i saw the mouse, i tried to kill it with my dart gun, which shoots thin sharp darts. i pierced the mouse but then i found the dark later without the mouse. So, do you think the mouse will survive and if not, how do i lure it into a trap or whatever?

I believe there are various devices designed specifically for the entrapment, alive or otherwise, of rodent vermin. IIRC, they're known as "mousetraps".

Anytime.

What part of the mouse did you pierce? The ear? Was it hemorrhaging?

When I was about 12, my friend had a GAT air pistol, which fired little darts, while he was showing it to me, it went off, and shot his hamster in its cage across the other side of the room. He didn't tell his parents because they didn't know he had the gun, so the hamster didnt get taken to the vet and died, but it took about 2 days. He could hear it wheezing at night. :(

Then buy a few traps and place them close to the walls. Mice allways run along the walls.

yeah, place them against the wall with the bite against the wall, then they trip it even if they just run over it

...if you put it with the lid against the wall they will fly like hero superman

Buy traps for along the walls. If you know where it usually runs put them there. Mice travel along walls because their vision isn't very good. They rely on sound and smell. Which is why traps work cause they can't see that it's a trap. If you don't know what walls it runs along look for mouse feces(look like little black pellets.) Also if there's one assume there's a family of them. They're probably coming into your house because winter is just around the corner and if you can't get rid of them they'll probably leave in the spring.

Do mice bite you when you sleep like rats? Or do they just walk on top of you looking for food?

they seem to avoid me, but I have cats

Oh and btw, the mouse is black. So its not a wild one.

mice bite rats when they sleep?

Can i trick it into eating poison?
>> Anonymous
>>180281
Yeah, but use chocolate, berrys or something else that's sweet, not cheese. It actually works better becuz cheese is often too spicy or smelly.

Me again, and I forgot to add that Gouda or bri isnt a natural occurance. Like chocolate cake.

Poison is not a very good idea. The problem is that you have no idea where the mouse is going to die. It could die stuck in the wall or in an appliance or in some other hard-to-reach spot. Then you have to deal with rotting mouse.

Just put out some traps for the little bastard. Peanut butter makes excellent bait. Also try berries or seeds/nuts. Sunflower seeds or hazelnut "meat" are very effective too.

As the other anon said, put the traps against walls where you have seen the mouse. They tend to stay under cover or along walls.

It'll only rot for a week or so, then you're home free!

Fly paper works right?

Seconded, peanut butter always works for me.

why did you kill it? ;___;
you can easily cath a mouse with a trap in which it stays alive, and then take it far away to the forest.

Its not dead yet, but it and its whole family will get crushed.

Traps aren't going to get rid of your mouse problem because only young mice are dumb/clumsy enough to get caught in them.

You need to mouseproof your house from the outside. Those mice aren't coming out of thin air. Once you've done that, you can adress the issue of getting them out of there.

Most large extermination companies will know how to do this.

This is a good point, though it's still not good enough.

#1 most important thing: Get rid of the reason why the mice are coming inside the house: Food and possibly water.

#2 & #3: Get rid of the mice in the house, and keep them out.

You've had one tad too much neil gaiman.

Some people think of mice as pests.
I think of them as free cat toys/food.
