The best treatment for any desease I know is taking good care of fish before this desease formed. Every time I tried medication my fish died.

I went to the hospital for a broken leg and they told me this. However, time machine-based treatment is just too expensive for the average joe.

If you have finrot google 'flex'.
If you want to use this shit google 'diy melafix'
its a teaspoon of tea tree oil and water
well ok has a chemical to help the 2 mix but ya, easy DIY

mardels medications are just about the most useless pieces of shit on the market.

Binox is the best shit i've ever seen at treating finrot (I work at an aquarium store and have used and seen the efficacy of just about every med on the market). My fish treatment kit at works consists of aquarium salt, binox, cupramine, and prazipro, and melafix. these cover just about every fish disease you may run into

really? how so. maracyn cleared up a mild case of septicemia for me once. never heard of binox

well, after all my own experiences and talking with LFS owners and a few friends who are in the aquarium maintenance business there is just a general concensus that 90% of the time the mardel meds do jack shit and you'd be much better off using a different med. just as a comparison, Jungle makes binox which works on just about everything that maracyn would work on. coppersafe is absolute garbage and unstable, you're much better off with cupramine. i've had fish go through maracide treatments before and then the water looks like its snowing a week later when I add prazipro with all the flukes, etc that prazipro kills that maracide should eliminate as well.

also, only downside of binox is that it turns your water piss yellow

ah, well thank you for the input. next time i run into a disease i'll take your advice. hopefully that won't happen though, i've been disease free so far.

Melafix is another crap herbal remedy sold at extravagant prices to jew you out of your money. It's companion product PimaFxi also fucking sucks. Get some binox, mardel, or EM. EM is fucking amazing. It kills everything known to man, including half of your fish.

I use prazi and lemisole for worms
salt, DIY melafix, doxycylin and metro flagyl for bacteria infection
methyl blue, salt, DIY pimafix for fungals
malachite green and formalin for parasites

I also have a complete lab stocked with hardware and chems. I do sacrifical autopsy for friends in need and for fun lol.

as previous poster said, google flex. OR its more common name columnaris.

End of the day most disease outbreaks are caused by there being ammonia or nitrite in the water, the temperature going wacky or feeding shitty food for too long.
