Not sure if this is the best board for this, if there is a better one please let me know.

I was wondering if anyone knew what this thing was? I found it in a really old building. It looks like it's carved into a log or something.

House was falling apart and was demolished.

Here is another view, it looks like it was broken off something bigger.

That's a pretty neat find. You *might* get some good opinions from /r9k/ since that draws such a diverse crowd.

Otherwise, I'd say you might even want to try to take it, I don't know, maybe to a museum or something. Call around and see if anyone would be able to consult you on an item like that.

Go to /x/ for brixshitting. Also try to restore it, clean it up and make it purty.

the people who were in the building prior probably shopped at Cost Plus: World Market, guys.
Chances are it was just a wall decoration made to look like old African sculpt.

DO NOT DO THAT. You should only ever consider this after being advised to do so by a reputable valuer, otherwise, if it is at all worth anything, you could potentially destroy it and anything it might be worth.

I doubt any reputable valuer would advise him to go to /x/ for brixshitting.

the fact that it is made from two pieces of wood shows its not an original.the comment that it is a tourist piece is most likely.
