Giant Schnauzers?! Anonymous
How about em? Has /an/yone had any experience with them? I've read they can be quite dominant but I can't ever find first-hand accounts of people's experiences with one.

I had a schnauzer for 12 years, and he was sweet. When I was a kid though (his height) he would bounce around me and try and knock me down, but I think that was because he thought he had someone 'his size' to play with. He never dominated my other dogs or my little brother (who was much smaller than I), just me. :D Hope I helped.

OP here...was it a Standard or a Giant? Because I've had a little experience with a Standard Schnauzer, but they aren't as aggressive or dominant as the Giants. Thx though. I have a female rottie and am looking to get a male Giant Schnauzer down the road...in about a year or so.

I had a standard also, but the one I was talking about was a Giant. Like I said, at the time we had the giant we had a male poodle (standard), and a female dachshund. We got the poodle after the schnauzer, and the dachshund was before the schnauzer. Hope this helps a little!

I also found that my Giant was easier to train than any of my other dogs, including the standard schnauzer. They just get excited easy (you can train this out of them), and sometimes that gets marked as aggressive because of their size.
