I found this spider outside my house, I've been looking around for a few days and there are more. I'd like to know what type of spider it is. Thank you.

"Banana spider" can be used for Nephilas too, but I only use it for Phoneutria nigriventer to prevent confusion.
The first Anon wasn't that wrong.

although some times referred to as a banana spider the Argiope aurantia or garden spider roams north America and is not harmful to humans, they are also know as writing spiders for the patterns they make in their webs.
females can be up to three inches male about an inch and a half.
the better fed they are the more beautiful their webs will be, they reconstruct it every night.

their are many different spiders that are called banana spiders but only the Phoneutria are venomous spiders from south and central America.

humans just call any spider that is yellow a banana spider and the actual venomous spider is more of a brown color,

and only 33% of its bites are venomous, lets play a game.

Also, the term "Banana spider" should be abolished completely.
