Hai guyz. I got these anoles down here in Florida. Sometimes my cats get them inside, or they just walk in and get stuck for days or weeks at at time. I find them starving and battle scarred quite often, and I let them go outside.

I'm wondering, do they immediately carry on with their lives, or do they find a quiet place and die when I put them outside?

It depends on how far gone they are and their types of injuries.

For the uninjured ones just trapped inside, they are suffering from dehydration. If you want to help those out a bit more before letting them go, set them on a plant or a counter and mist the surface. They cannot drink out of bowls and instead lap up dew drops. You may also try to feed them some ants or some small crickets. Additionally, you might want to warm the lizards up under a desklight to get their systems kicking again.

The ones that are injured by cats might be able to be nursed back to health, but you would need a tank with UV and heat lights and food for them.

Personally, when I find ones that are too far gone, I just bash their heads in with a brick. Do unto others and all that. I would rather die quick than have something eat me alive in a weakened state.

Cats are terrible for native animals. You should keep your cat inside if possible. It's safer for the cat as well.

Just let the anoles go some place that looks suitable. If they make it they make if they don't they don't.

they die, the birds get them, they have to find food/water very soon and they can't evade predators very well
