I had a hound with this. The vet can put him on pills and basically what is doggy chemo, but it's pricy and not guaranteed to do anything. There is some community website out there about dog cancer and options, and since your dog is younger he may have more of a chance to overcome it. Personally, I had my dog put to sleep, but he was a bit older.
Also, at the risk of sounding morbid, if you got him from a shelter with a pricy adoption fee and plan on adopting another dog in the near future, take your vet bills to the shelter and explain the dog you got from them was ill - they may waive the adoption fee. I worked at a shelter who had this policy because of people who adopted the old sick dogs.
