So my friend's cat got killed by a jack russell last summer, and it got me thinking.
What's a good way to subdue a dog without seriously injuring it?
My friend kicked it in the face and possibly even tossed a brick at it, but it ignored it all and throttled their cat to death, along with tearing off its tail.

To break a dog's neak - get behind the dog and hold one arm underneath the dog's neck and press your other arm firmly on the top of their neck, right about where their collar should be. Holding down with the upper arm, bring the lower arm quickly and forcefully upwards.

Oh, wait - without seriously injuring?

best bet it to try and press into it's eyes, but really I think you'd need those tools dog catchers use (I forget what it's called, but it looks like a two-pronged pitchfork and they hold the dog's head down with it). It's really not safe to try and do ANYTHING to an aggresive dog. Even something as small a Jack Russel can seriously fuck you up.

I dislike both Jack Russells and cats.

But if you seriously want to save the cat, pick it up by the back of the collar. Failing that, the scruff of the neck. Easier said than done, of course. It will be rabid and will struggle like hell, biting any part of you it can. Perhaps if you got a solid hold and held it at arms length.

And then if you're anything like me, it's drop kicks ahoy.

Seriously though, the only thing that can deter a dog like that is probably a shout from its owner, and because these happend to be moronic little shits, they'll probably need to be picked up. I had to pick up mine all the time when he got into fights. Still better than cats, though.

Id have grabbed the dog and shoved my fist down it's throat.
anything I came back out with is a bonus.
then I'd have nailed the dog to the owner's door, through the face.

If a dog were attacking my cat I wouldn't give a shit about not harming it. Even if it was a 300lb monster I'd kick it's fucking head in.

If a dog was killing my cat, I'd take a brick to its fucking head and then, if it had a collar to tell me who it belongs to, leave the body on the fucker's porch.

But in short, mace works alot of the time, and if you don't have that, try a hose. It's the most you can do with the stuff you have. But if it's a pitbull or huge, angry dog...do NOT subdue it. It'll more than likely turn on you.

Fucking awesome. Too bad you didn't take pictures of this glorious event, you fucking catfag.

Cats are useless vermin and should all be killed.

Good luck with that, Superman. I hope you get a chance to try that some day, and have your balls bitten off in the attempt.

We are stronger than a small dog, but dogs are much faster and will instinctively go straight for your neck since that's the best way to sever your jugular and/or carotid. So just remember, you may be able to bench press more than your body weight, but a dog will be twice as fast as you.

however, they aren't faster than bullets

I've always heard that if you hold out a stick, or if you wrap your shirt around your arm and hold your arm out, the dog will bite down on whatever it is presented with, and then you can use your free arm to poke its eye or whomp it with a club or whatever. I'm not really sure if dogs have any weakpoints for massive damage, you just have to use tools/brains to defeat them.

if you can manage, hitting their sides and undersides would probably inflict more pain than hitting their heads. dogs' heads are very resilient and are basically made to handle a lot of abuse.

the nose makes a great target for a brick

Punt it. Seriously, a Jack Russel is so small that you should be able to send it flying.
>> alex
if you stick out an armoured arm then burn the dogs nose with the free arm it wont attack again

You start by applying steady pressure to their hindquarters until the hip is just touching the ground.
Now shift your weight and press with all your might until the Jack Russell's hip starts to shatter into pieces. You'll know this is happening because the dog will be whimpering and screaming.

If you don't want to seriously injure it:
Who gives a fuck.

If you want to kill it:
If it's a big dog, and turned away from you, get on it's back and break it's neck as>>211739described. If it's a small dog, a baseball bat or shovel to the back ( spine) should kill it, or at least hurt it badly.

Grab tongue, yank hard, ???, profit.

Use a shield.

Seriously, anything big that you can put between yourself and the dog works. Dogs are faster charging forward, you are faster turning and moving sideways so it will have hell of a time getting around a shield. Stand still/slowly advance while using something to shield yourself from the dog will intimidate him and he should calm down pretty soon.

If its a big dog and you are a wimp it might just overpower you...

OP Here,

>>212111
I wasn't there for it, I just heard about it afterwards

and the reason I'm asking on tips how to not kill it is because my friend knew the dog and its owner

>>212315
the dog wasn't letting go of the cat, it just would've sent both of them flying

The rabid cat haters around here lately are both sad and hilarious at once.

Anyway, I've heard things like a bucket of cold water to shock the animal can work to at least get it to let go of the other animal long enough for you to grab it, but that sounds pretty inconvenient. It's not like we have time to go fill up a bucket while a cat's getting owned.

If there wasn't another animal involved, I agree with>>212543

grab its back legs and lift them into the air and pull the dog backwards, it should freak and let go of whatever its holding. then you can do whatever you want with it. do it quickly though so it doesn't bite you

sit on it

I truly dislike cats but I'll try to help you out OP

For a small dog

Just grab it by the neck as long your not suffocating the thing but still can control the movement of the head everything should be fine.

For Medium and Large size dogs

I recommend hitting them in the nose it is great deterrent.

I've had both Jack Russells and cats.. JRs can be aggressive little things.

I was told when I was younger that you're supposed to grab the front legs, and then pull them towards the spine.. Apparently the bone would pierce the heart and kill it, but I was never sure if it was just a wives' tale or true.

If it's a small dog, just step on the damn thing. If you don't want to hurt it, only apply enough pressure to keep it down. I used to do it to my JR.
