The man who owns the vintage store down the street from me has a HUGE long-haired german shepherd that has the glossiest, healthiest looking coat, despite being a pretty old dog. The owner is a kooky old German dude who cooks the dog chicken breast and filet mignon every day. F'in dog eats better than I do.

Aww, that's nice. I'll probably end up a "kooky old German dude" in around 40 years as well.

I work at a petstore, dont feed them anything from a vets office. feed them avoderm or blue buffalo if you want the best. but benniful and gravy train are the best cheap-o brands.

I agree here, except for the Avoderm. Granted, it's a great food and is formulated very well, but it has effing avocados in it. Oil from avocado peels are toxic to pets. I just don't take the chance....
(PS "best" pet food for a pet is determined by the individual pet's biology reacting with the food...any premium or super-premium food is fine as long ad you're getting the results you like)

As for me?
Cats: Nutro Natural Choice dry food
Hamsters: Mazuri with a little bit of Nutriphase seed mix on top

hmmm well the problem is my dog had a tooth problem (chihuahuas ...*sigh*) and he's got barely any left. The vet said I should continue feeding him dry food and that this stuff was my best bet because it will keep his remaining teeth very clean and also it's not too hard to chew. :/

Well, yes and no. Dry food only does so much, you really should have been brushing your dog's teeth to begin with. Especially since you have a Chihuahua, which are known for terrible teeth. Dry food will clean a little bit, but not a whole lot. The biggest difference between wet and dry food is that wet food sticks in the teeth more if the dog chews it. ~shrugs~

haha trust me, I've tried to brush his teeth many, many times! I've baught as many differnet flavors of doggy toothpaste as I could find but he just would not let me get near him! I'll probobly have to bring him to the vet every 6 months to be sedated so they can clean his remaining teeth (he's still got three canines and most of his molars). It cost me 600 dollars to get his teeth extracted and the remaining teeth and gums cleaned. x__x
This Hill's Perscription stuff is a dental diet so I think I should stick with that. Though he doesnt really seem to like it. I used to feed him Kibbles and Bits. 8(

You may as well be my long-lost twin. Our Chihuahua ended up needing a $600 teeth extraction also. Brushing is impossible and he stiffens up his legs and body like a little corpse if you pick him up. He is extremely fussy and never ate anything solid his whole life.
Oh, and he likes to hump his bedding - how about your Chihuahua?

hahahaha totally! Though we just recently got him neutered in the hopes that it will calm him down and help him with his agression towards strangers/anyone who doesnt LIVE with him. but yeah he is uh ... a pretty frisky guy. He loved to molest our poor cat lmao 8|
What do you feed your chihuahua? Are you still giving him soft food? I understand if you are because they are freaking PICKY. 8|

He constantly demands changes in his diet: Once he had one certain thing, he will not eat it the next few days. If the change in diet is not to his liking, he will go without food for up to 3 days until we finally figured out what he wants next. Sometimes he likes soft puppy food, sometimes cat food, sometimes a different brand of cat food, sometimes boiled chicken breast with rice or noodles, sometimes raw human-grade and washed chicken necks (good for teeth), sometimes you need to add boiled and diced egg, but other days he needs shredded cheese, premium raw mince, sometimes a piece of buttered toast, etc….
