what fish is this???

Kribinsis, I'm spelling it wrong, but it's a dwarf ciclid, and that's a female. It's one of the few cases where the female is brighter than the male.

No, that looks like hair or thread algae ( i am not very familiar with them).
Beard algae is that dark small fuzzy piece that got stuck on a stone in>>272981
It is pretty much impossible to get rid of.

Beard algae is not a plant. It is does grow rapidly, and is not eaten by anything (some fish wil touch it, but they will never eat any significant ammount of it)
Beard algae chocks plants to death.
I know it too well.

On your pic it is identified as brush algae.
It is called different in different sources. There is no set name.

Look carefully, I was refering to stuff in the lower middle section of the pic. If you cant identify red (or beard, or brush, or black beard, or bba, or whatever other name it is called), then... Lucky you, cause you didnt have to deal with serious outbreak of this algae.
>>273000
Except that in my experience nothing will touch the black beard algae. That green algae? Oh yeah, even barbs will eat it in no time. BBA? You are fucked.

having a healthy tank with healthy stock is sometimes disrupted by introduction of unwanted snails or algae species.radical steps to rid your tank is the last step one likes to take but is always a choice.
