I wonder why some animal babies are born with eyes closed when others have their eyes open?
>> Anonymous

I wonder why some are helpless when born [kittens, people, mice, ect.] whereas others can see and walk when they're born [deer, dolphin].

Though I guess the argument is that a fawn would be eaten and a baby dolphin would drown.

Eyes closed: Conservative animals.
Eyes open: Liberal animals.

I guess the closing of the eyes helps them understand economics and does not let them be jaded by niggerisms

Not all carnivorans are born with eyes closed. There has to be some explanation for this.

Different survival strategies.

Born helpless means a shorter gestation, which means the mother isn't slowed down as much by the pregnancy. It also means she has to care for the young a great deal, helping to insure their survival.

Born not-so-helpless means a longer gestation, but it also means the babies are able to get around on their own and take care of themselves better right when they're born.

Animals that are always on the move tend to have babies that can move around shortly after birth. Animals that don't move around much tend to have helpless babies.
