Earlier today, I found a frog near my feet at the station I work at. Now I work at a machine shop, and the floor is dirty and there is just mucky shit everywhere, and as you know frogs are amphibians, and this poor guy was covered in muck.
I go to pick him up and he is quite literally completely black with soot and dirt, his eyes can't open from it and he incapable of protecting himself from me picking him up.
I take him into the break room and get a plate, and pour water all over the guy, and fill the plate with some water and swish it around. This guy has dirt coming off of him, so much dirt it was pathetic to see.
But his reaction was amazing, he starts moving and it was like watching a child when you give them a new toy. What was even more amazing was when I took the guy outside he held onto my hand as I picked off all the crap from his body, and placed him on a tree branch.
I then took a bottle of water and slowly poured it on his head, and he looked up at the water as it was flowing over him and he STARTED TO GLOW. Not in the literal OMFG he's a glowing alien, but glowing in the sense that he had life, I can't really explain it but it was like I gave that frogs life back to it.

Moral of the story, save an animal that is capable of being saved, you wont regret doing so.

pic related, however it isn't the actual frog

ITT animals you saved from a bad situation

last year i was talking my dog in the neighborhood and i stumbled upon this little black oval thing in a dried up puddle, and before my dog tried to eat it, i picked it up and realized it was a snapping turtle hatchling. it wasn't moving and it was very dry, i thought it was dead.
but i took him home, poured some water in a bowl and he instantly came to life. after about a half an hour of rest in the bowl for him, i took a walk through the swamp and let him go.

I let the weeds in my backyard get pretty out of control this summer and a lot of toads started making homes in the wild growth.
When I finally mowed it, every now and then I'd go over one of them and chunks of them would come flying away with the grass clippings.

During the rainy season where I live, you can see lots of frog and toad roadkill in the morning. Yeah.

We were driving down the road and I noticed a little turtle in the road as we passed by. I yelled to stop, and we ran back and grabbed him. He was this close to getting run over, there was a huge SUV coming right for him.

We took him over to a friend's house. She lives in a cabin in a wooded area right next to a river. We let him go in her yard. We named him Filburt Peaches McDumbass. Filburt and Peaches being related to Rocko's Modern Life, and dumbass being related to the fact that he was in the middle of the fucking road like a tard. <3

I had a simalar experience with road and turtles. When i was little my mom was driving me home, and this awesome spiky turtle was crossing the bend in the road. We stopped so we could see if we could help it get across (it was rush hour soon).
but then a stupid truck came, and it was either gonna hit our car or the turtle. guess who got hit. (not that I have a deathwish, but it was sad to see such a beautiful animals head squished. >: )

once when I was little I was playing in the backyard and I found something that looked like it was half frog, half snake. I showed my mom and she screamed because it was actually a snake eating a big frog legs first...however the frog was too big, and its head and front legs were sticking out. It was dragging itself across the ground but the snake refused to let go. So my dad came and poked the snake until it spit up the frog. both of them were fine, but we moved the frog so the stupid snake wouldn't try to eat it again.

Thank you OP, awesome job.

It seriously made me happy to read that, as I'm interested in herpetology and frogs are amphibians.

The frog in the pic is a Green Tree Frog and they eat nightly on my windows here in East Texas.

Respect.
