But it's been summer before, and I've never seen this many frogs.

I don't know anything about frogs.
Why do they do that?

Can I get some kind of disease from touching them?

some frogs have a poisonous secretion on their skin.
I'd wash my hands if in doubt.

I like frogs. We used to get them, and newts, every year at my parent's old house, which had a really good pond in the back garden. They never seemed to mind being picked up, and would happily sit on my hand for a few minutes while I examined them.

That sounds like my childhood.

Frogs are really kinda friendly, aren't they?

Yeah, they do seem to be. It always surprised me, for such a squishy and defenceless animal, you'd think they'd be timid, and want to get underwater for safety.

A few leaps for a frog would be like you running a mile. They have an inefficient (spelling?) circulatory system and oxygen doesn't get around to their muscles as well as it does in our body. Don't be suprized at how listless they seem when there's no place to hide near them.

OP, you have cheese under your toenail. fucking gross.

all pics are toads, frogs are tiny and colourful

Wrong on both counts. Some frogs are large and drab colored, like bullfrogs. Also, pic in>>92574appears to be a frog, although it is a bit blurry and hard to tell for sure.

Pic is bullfrogs.

Not all frogs are colorful but all the pics the OP has posted ARE toads.

They only go in the water in summer to breed, which is why there seems to be so many of them at the moment.

Yeah I was wondering why the fuck there were toads floating around near OP's foot. It wants to do the beautiful dance of mating with his toe cheese.

Lies! OP here and I took most of these pictures. They were definitely frogs.

Most are surprised to hear that all Toads actually are Frogs."

That's my mom's foot, sicko!

It's a good signthat there a lot of frogs this year. Frogs are very sensitive to harmful chemicals and stuff in the water and are usually the first to croak (hurr hurr hurr!). A lot of frogs this year means the water is clean and can support a bigger frog population
