A new identification thread: does anybody here know what dinosaur this is supposed to be?

I found it while looking for pictures of a primitive stegosaurid (which this obviously isn't) and found this on a Japanese webpage (of which I could not understand a single character). At first I thought it might be an interpretation of Pachyrhinosaurus, but then I noticed that the frill was all wrong and the smaller horny growths look weird too.

I remember seeing pictures by the same artist on /an/ before so I thought maybe someone here might have an idea what this could be?

A dinosaur that undoubtedly has strong neck muscles to support a horn that big.

Mystery solved! The animal in question is Gigantoceratops hercules. I found this info searching the japanese oldworld blog. Since I don't read japanese, I don't know the name of the artist, but thankfully he always includes the names of the animals in the latin alphabet.

I also found some new stuff ranging from cute to downright fucked up...

...some just weird like this giant kingfisher. Is it supposed to illustrate some point or did this giant really live once? Beats me.

...and some that probably wouldn't make sense even with an explanation. Seriously, WTF?!

The guy wavers between genuine paleo-art and random bullshit. I remember once he did some "what if man continued to evolve" thing that basically turned us into lizardmen.

As to Gigantoceratops hercules, it's an imagined species. I'm guessing it's his idea of what would happen if pachyrhinosaurinines continued evolving (and...had horns instead of bosses, which some people STILL insist on...).

The Gigantoceratops was posted on April 1. Guess what that means.
