/an/ I have a question for you.
I'm getting a pair of button quails very soon, and was wondering if I should get 2 females, 2 males or a male and female.
I don't want them to breed, but i heard females dont live very long.
My question is, will 2 male quails fight eachother? and are they more agressive?

I always research the crap out of an animal before I buy it, but I haven't found a site that ha answered this.

button quail are crazy mother fuckers. I haven't managed to keep more than two alive in the same cage together. A pair might have to do for now. I prefer Pharoh quail, they can be trained to be held and don't act as crazy and flighty. also, be careful, their legs break easy.

do you mean males fight eachother in the cage?
Or all genders do?

oh well, i guess for now my bess bet would be to get two females, regardless of their extra needs and shortened life span.

We have button quails at my work and if there's more than one male they beat the shit out of each other. Perhaps having two females is a better idea... and they'll lay shittons of eggs. Infertile obviously.

quails and their eggs are considered a delikatesse.

Yes you can eat the eggs. You'll need a lot of them for an omelet or you can hard boil them. I don't know what they taste like, but they're always sold at the asian stores.
