Your vote for the stupidest breed. Not whether you like them or not. Stupidest as in lowest intelligence.

Is that a golden retriever?
You're a fucking idiot if it is.

The scientific method says this breed, asshole.

maltese/shi-tzus/anything ending in -poo... you know, those fluffy kind of dogs with beards that all look the same? They're fucking stupid.

when compared with their owners, not really.

afghan hound, i believe
sorry, no pics. they is too damn dumb.

also>>203287
we had a retarded golden. he couldn't even figure out how to hike his leg or retrieve, and he couldn't swim -- he sank when we put him in the river. He was a fucking retard.

Afghans aren't stupid, they just don't give a fuck what you want them to do. I've seen afghans figure out how to open windows, refridgerator doors, unlock car doors, etc. When they want to do something, they will do it, but they are stuck in rebellious teenager mode and will do the opposite of what you want them to.

Stupidest dogs I have met have been labs and dalmations. Yes, they want to make you happy and will try really hard to do whatever you ask of them, but things like "don't run into the wall" or "snow is cold" and "the ceiling fan does not want to play" seem to be beyond them.

Canine intelligence come in different categories.
There is working/obedience intelligence, problem solving intelligence, learning speed, resistance to training vs potential for learning and the like to consider.

My vote for all around most versatile dogs?
Pitbulls (yes pitbulls), Belgian Malnois and Poodle (yes poodles).

I am a dog trainer and I have found these breeds to have the highest degree of learning ability, performance, problem solving and the least behavioral issues.

Least "intelligent".
Bulldog (unfortunately...they're so cute!)
Afghan hound and Chihuahua

Thank you for saying this. I'm a huge sighthound fan, but everyone seems to think they're dumb. They just don't want to listen-- kind of like cats.
I think the "dog intelligence" statistics put out were based on the dog's ability to be trained rather than the animal's actual intelligence.

Bulldogs aren't that smart because they're bred to be a farting sausage with four stumpy legs. Also I think the nose getting pushed back affected the brain.

That put the awesomest images in my head.

enjoy your inbred retrievers

that's the reason theyre so retarded, severe inbreeding

agreed...dumbest dogs I've ever met were chocolate and golden labs in particular. sometimes dumb dogs make better pets, at least for the average joe that doesn't have time to actually train them- smart dogs are always escaping or getting into things, or destroying them for entertainment(monkeys make bad pets for this reason as well I hear).

My sister's lab knows fetch, and only fetch. I once presented the damned animal with a peice of steak and it's ball before it's regular feeding time, and it took the ball.

Dogs are supposed to be 'food > all'. WTF?

I'm gonna go all out and say Border Collies.

Because I own one and, whilst she's a really quick learner and doesn't just understand important words, but knows when you're spelling them out to avoid her attention...

She's the stupidest dog EVER.

This dog will try and herd EVERYTHING. We have a tank of tropical fish and she even tries to herd them.

Yep, Border Collies are both the cleverest and most stupid dogs ever. At the same time.

"but things like "don't run into the wall" or "snow is cold" and "the ceiling fan does not want to play" seem to be beyond them."

that is full of win and sadly very true... dalmations in part. seem to be stupider than wood chunks...

Seconding this. They are at once incredibly smart and incredibly retarded. My border collie mix learns the meanings of words when I haven't even tried to teach him, yet he still runs head-first in to walls. Keeps things interesting.

I grew up with a mix that would actually swim out into the pond trying to herd the wild mallards into the yard
>> tigerfeather !CrwtTbFNxQ

I think that you have "stupid" and "neurotic" mixed up there. Think of them as obsessive-compulsive, not "dur hurr."

>>203316
I have to agree with your Dalmatian vote. They can be pretty dumb (Duuur, I wonder if the fence is electrified today?). That, I think though, is right along the lines of the Lab problem though. They got really popular, so tons of cheap, bad lines were bred, and now we have the short bus variety of these animals.

my vote goes for that too.
i have a dalmatian and she's dumb as a rock. very kind, but stupid. i constantly have to re-train her when it comes to simple tricks and she bumps into everything.
there's also two ways to get into my kitchen. i'll tell her to get in the kitchen and she'll take the longest way there even if i'm at the first entrance.
