hey guys, this is a serious question, no im not a troll. This is my yorkiepoo, she's 2.5 years old and i'd really like to breed her. her temperament is great, shes not afraid of anything and is always happy. she does have 1 knee that pops out sometimes but it doesnt cause her any pain. the vet said it's fine. she is healthy otherwise.

my question is, what kind of dog should i breed her with? im open to pretty much any breed or mix. i think i will use a purebred dog with papers so the puppies may sell for more money

OP here, forgot to say the pic was taken at Petco a couple months ago but she is groomed now and looks better. it was a "professional" shot but we weren't very prepared!

I'd say another Yorkie. Mix breeds can sometimes have unintended results (rare, but does happen.) Another Yorkie should give some happy and healthy pups.

Cute dog too :3

>yorkiepoo

There are plenty of mutts at shelters without you making more stupid ass mutts with fag names.

OP again....any one else have any ideas? I don't really want to mix her with a yorkie as she is already part yorkie. i want to add something different and cute!

thanks

Do you know ANYTHING about breeding? ANYTHING? If not, don't do it. Prepare yourself first. Get into local breeder circles, look at potential sires (and their health/medical papers - don't want to breed her with a German Shepherd that has hip dysplasia and comes from a line wtih a history of hip dysplasia, etc.), and do your homework.

It would be all fun and games until one of your puppies is born at home and its intestines are OUTSIDE OF ITS BODY.

Learn, then do.

You should spay her, instead.
If you breed her with a big dog, she will die giving birth to huge puppies, for one.
What if she has a litter of 8 puppies? Do you have good homes for all of them? Can you afford shots for all of them? Food?

Breeding a dog generally reduces its life expectancy by a few years. Be aware of this before you do it, and also be aware that many birth defects may result or a difficult pregnancy may kill the dog.

But I agree. Nobody's going to pay for your mutt. A "Yorkiepoo" bred with a Yorkie is just a mutt, and if your dog doesn't have papers, it'll go for the same as any other dog not in a store: Shit nothing. Most reputable buyers won't sell or buy from home breeders who don't breed responsibly, either.
