Dear /an/,

After a few months of having my hermit crabs, one of them is always scared at me. Everytime I try to see him in the terrarium he runs away and hides. I put food in front of him and I spend some time with him to try telling him that he is safe. But he is just too god damn pussy and won't trust me.

What can I do? Is there a way he can't see me inside the terrarium? Because I am getting tired of trying to watch and just making him run away.

Picture is him trying to escape my terrarium btw.

its crab nature to attempt escape.

to get crabby to ease up. take him out and let him wander on the bed or something.

It will be afraid for a while, but in time it will get used to you. Let him out and wander about. Of course paying attention that no harm can happen.

I used to leave mine on the bed. It would crawl to a dark place like under the pillow. My crabs used to always become active when I was awake. I guess they knew someone might be allowed to explore the room.
