So, /an/ I'm thinking about getting a shiba inu puppy after we move into our new house. But I've heard that they aren't good for first-time dog owners. I've only had a cat and a hamster. I've also heard (and seen, but I don't know how relevant it is, considering it was youtube.) that they can get pretty crazy. Professional training needed, or I can I raise it myself?

I think with any dog it's a good idea to enroll in a training class with a professional. If anything it helps socialize the dog around unfamiliar people, settings, etc. so they'll be more stable in new situations in the future. Also, it's really, really easy to do it wrong with training if you don't know how.
