My current job is out in the middle of the country. So far I've had to handle bats, turtles, wasps, massive amounts of crickets, various species of birds, and frogs. Of my two males collegues, one is terrified of wasps, the other is terrified of spiders. I keep having to resuce the poor dears from the terrors that surround them. If someone were to dump a jar full of worms at my feet I'd most likely go, "Oh, that's interesting, what species is it?" while my two manly collegues would squeal like little bitches with skinned knees and climb on top of the nearest bench for safety.
If someone wants to make me freak they're going to have to make an effort because usually, the only things that freak me out are centipedes and leeches.
I really don't know why anyone would get upset about a few friggin' worms. I think they'd be more reacting to the freak handling said worms.
