k heres the deal while trimming one of our large bushes my family discovered a nest of 4 robin chicks, earlier today i found one of the chicks fell out of the nest but was fibne so i put it back in, but what im afraid of is the mother may have been scared away by us cutting the bushes and may have abandoned the chicks, i may take it upon myself to take care of them, any suggestions on what may help them in terms of feeding? (i know they eat worms and insects but im not going to grind that up will ground up bird seed work?

I suggest poaching, then using to make eggs benedict.

I actually hand raised a baby robin and he's been with us for 2 years so far. How feathered are they?

Robins aren't seed eaters, they are meat and fruit eaters. I fed mine a mix of soft dog food, egg yolks, grainy sand, calcium powder and a little water. Made it like a paste and fed it to him in small pieces. Don't give them water, babies that small can drown.

leave the bushes alone for a while, see if mom comes back

Jesus Christ, if they'd hatched then you weren't supposed to sit on them anymore

I recommend leaving them alone. Unless the chicks are already very well developed, the amount of time and effort you must invest in them to keep them alive is obscene.

But I still recommend leaving them alone, either way.

Unfortunately, the mother will no longer help those chicks out.

Once a human touches one of them or the nest, it leaves its scent, so now the mother will abandon them.

Congrats, now they're gonna die.

Canaries were used by miners because they'd DIE way before the miners would.
