what animals yawn?mammals, birds....
Sometimes my ball python would open her mouth wide and shut it. And I don't mean when she's about to eat or finishes eating. Usually when she wakes up. Maybe her jaw unhinges in her sleep, or something.
my birds, rabbits, cats, dogs, rats all yawn. my snakes also look like they yawn from time to time.
I think any animal that needs an extra intake of oxygen to the brain once in a while yawns.
Ants actually yawn and stretch as well..kinda cute
My leopard gecko has yawned in front of me a few times. I've seen videos of snakes yawning too. So... reptiles too.
>>214639i don't know much about ants, but spiders do that after they molt. they stretch all their appendages and stretch out their chelicerae (mouth parts with the fangs) which sort of resembles yawning.
>>214654it's more of getting everything situated/set in than to do with getting oxygen to the brain. in fact, oxygen doesn't get to the brain of a spider via their mouth.
>>214639ants dont have lungs jackass
