Ok, I have these 3 chicks to take care of over the weekend, I have them from work since the proffesor will be gone for the weekend so asked me watch them. So I didn't really get much instructions except keep the water hydrated and try and feed them

They've just been born recently, I think their 3 or 4 days old now. Was wondering, do they ever sleep? I'm always up real late at night around 2am or later and I can hear them cheep cheep. It came with a huge lamp, to keep them warm, is it ok to leave it on all night? If I turn it off they go nuts, so I left it on.

They're pretty cute, but I worry they don't eat much, there's a bowl of feed in the corner and they don't seem to touch it at all, except peck the ground, so I kinda just tossed some feed over the ground.

Anyways I think they're cute and it's nice to have them, I don't want to take them out of the cage since they will peck anything at the ground, don't want to cause harm lol not sure what kind of chicks they are, guessing regular ol' chicks from farms.

I used to live on a chicken farm, as it so happens. DO NOT turn off the heating lamp, the chicks will need a warm temp constantly. As for food, just keep trying. They're usually light eaters, so don't worry too much. Just make sure to keep them hydrated, as you were told.

Keeping water hydrated won't be that difficult :)

Yes, leave the lamp on, it keeps them warm. That's about as far as my chick-knowledge goes, though.

alright thanks, I thought it would be harder than I thought since they were just born.

If the peeping is a problem, wear earplugs when you sleep. *been there done that with 8 rhode island red chicks*
