About three weeks ago my cat, Shadow, of about 13 years got an abscess from getting into a fight with another cat outside and had to go through a bit of recovery ordeal. He's been an outdoor cat most of his life by my sister-in-law, a vet-tech, recommended I keep him inside for the remainder of his life but today I finally let him outside again giving into my Aikido teacher's advise of "Cats have to be cats."Was I wrong?tl;dr My outdoor cat got into a fight my sister-in-law got scared and said keep him indoors from now on, but I let him out. Was that stupid of me? y/n?
nCats get in fights all the time, just clean it with some hydrogen peroxide, and if it gets worse go to the vet and they can fix it up no problem.
Your children would be safer if you kept them locked up in your house, but it wouldn't be much of a life.
No. He's an outdoor cat and keeping him indoors would suck badly for him.
I had a cat that lived to be 20 and she lived outside. She didn't have claws, either and got into fights. Not to mention, my cat used to get sick from being inside for too long.
