Sup /an/

I have 4 cats. A mom and her two daughters and son. The mom (baby) has always been the boss. My cats never fight except when she roughs her kids up a bit to remind them who the boss is.

Last night things changed I think. Her son (Attila) usurped her authority and defeated her in combat. Now she won't come out from under the dresser. I don't know for sure but it seems like she just got knocked out of Alpha position.

She seems sad and is now hissing at any of her kids who come over to her to say hello. Any recommendations on fixing the situation?

What situation? I don't see a problem. As you described, there was a change in the "pecking order" and now momma is second-rate. Give her a little time and she'll come out.

Well it seems odd that it happened now. The kids were 3 years old as of the July 5 so I figured the was past the time when the order was established.

Anyway I would rather she was at the top anyway. She keeps them all in line.

It is interesting to observe though.

The problem with Attila being at the top though is that he already gets into a lot of stuff he shouldn't. If he has the confidence now that he can do whatever he wants I don't think that is going to help the problem.

That's why owners train their pets not to do stupid shit that puts themselves and others at risk.

Of Hungary?

That is who he is named after, Attila the Hun. I guess it should be no surprise then that he tried to take over.

Attila the Hun and Attila of Hungary (a.k.a. Attila Csihar) aren't the same people, actually. But Attila the Hun is cool too.

LOL. All the male animals I have ever owned I name after people like that. Next one is gonna be Genghis.
