These are the only 6 (5 technically) pictures I have of him. Sorry to bother you guys, 4chan has been one of my only outlets for the events in my life for almost a year now. I hope you have a lot of good moments with your cats. I did with Tigger. I loved him and will miss him for the rest of my life.

That sucks. It's always sad when a pet dies. I always think of them like family. I've lost a lot of pets, but nothing hit me as hard as when I was 13 and my dog died. He'd been around my whole life, and I still sometimes go into emo state when I think about him. D:
>> Anonymous
>>216104
I thought Tigger would live to be 20. He seemed so full of life, even just last week.
But there were signs over the last 6 months or so that things were goin down hill, small ones I figured would be habits for a few years. Right now all I can think about are all the things I should have done differently. It's really hard to to think about the good times when you know there won't be anymore.

I'm in kind of a disturbed morbid state atm. When my cat was dying he puked up some foam and peed, while I was holding him. The bile and urine is still on my arm, even after washing it I can still smell it. It's 2pm now and he died at 9am and I've just gotten used to the smell while reading other stories about people who have lost their cats on the net. Kind of disturbing but I don't know what else to do.

Thank you for posting the pictures of your cats, and telling stories about them. It's like looking into the night sky and seeing stars. Tigger was my sun each day. He did so many cool things during the time we spent together. Let him out at night and in the morning we'd have a dead mouse, bird or baby bunny on our doorstep. Like he was trying to feed us or pay us back for feeding him. He has climbed some huge trees and then I'd be so worried I'd climb them just to get to him. We used to do the hand wrestling thing, where I could just hold my hand open with the palm facing him and he would leap at it and bite the webbing between my thumb and forefinger while clawking the back. Got bad when he would bring his back claws into the fight and start slashing at my arm. But he loved it and I didn't midn going to school with scratches... I won't list everything... you are cat owners, you know how great they are.

I lost this green eyed monster right before Christmas. It's hard. Two of my other girls are in this list and they really helped me with it. They really are fantastic little beasts, eh?

I can't yet.
For some reason I have to think about what I did wrong. I wanted to hold him until he went completely cold, but my mother had come over and told me he was gone and I had to let go. I was mad at her but I know she meant well. I held onto him for a half an hour after he stopped moving then I wrapped him in his favorite blanket and put him in a box. The ground is frozen outside and I don't know what to do with him. I called the cemetary and asked what they do to the ground to bury people in winter. The keeper told me they use 25 pounds of charcoal that they light and let sit on the grave overnight before they dig it up with a backhoe in the morning. I am considering buying a 55 gallon drum or something similar, and a bag or 2 of charcoal and trying the technique to thaw the ground behind my house. I have to do soemthing with the body. I can't just leave him in my garage until spring. My mother did something similar with the family dog a few years ago and I will never forget that smell. I do not want to do that with Tigger. But I still don't know if the charcoal is a good idea compared to perhaps something more simple like carrying his body out into the woods and leaving it there for nature to take back. Then there is possibly cremating him, which I can't think of doing myself but perhaps a morgue would do it. Then I could spread his ashes in the woods... I don't know.

This is a picture of what it looks like behind my house. It was taken last year , right now the river is frozen and there are islands back there. It is the closest thing to woods that I have. I am thinking of taking his body out to one of the islands in the sanctuary and leaving it there.
>> Anonymous
Stop being a vagina, and clean yourself.
>> Anonymous
You are either limiting your options or are a /b/ troll. Go to a vet and have your cat cremated. You'll get it back in a nice container. Then you can have that container put in your coffin and you'll always be together.
>> Anonymous
Leave it on the streets and give him an honorable death

Thanks for depressing the majority of /an/, and hijacking this thread to suit your selfish needs.

Here is a picture of the sanctuary from google earth, I am to the right of the fairgrounds which is the big oval. The river is frozen and those islands are the only place I can think to keep his body. But I am concerned that maybe coyotes or other predators will get to it. ALthough I won't know, it still makes the idea seem questionable. I was thinking of taking him out there in a metal lock box...like I say, I don't know what to do. But people very rarely go out on those islands, specially not in the winter, since the ice is thin and the water is so shallow in most places the only good ice fishing spots are where the main river flows around. If I put him out there people won't find him but I am sure small predators will.
>> KZN
>>216112
I suggest getting him cremated. I can't imagine doing it yourself--I couldn't either. But find some place that will do it for you, and keep the ashes.
>> Anonymous
if you don't cremate him yourself, you're doing your cat a disservice
>> Anonymous
OK honestly, if you lived in a big city, how would you deal with the death of your cat?
This sounds so bad, but how would you dispose of the body?
I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO and right now melting the ground with a barrel and charcoal seems like a lot of work, and I am very distraught, giving his body back to nature seems right. I have the option of taking him out on the islands behind my house or taking a 5 mile walk with him into the nearest forest and putting him there. I don't have a vehicle, I use a bike and mass transit, so the 55 gallon drum and charcoal will be tricky. I am not trolling and I apologize for hijacking this thread but it ws the first cat related one I saw and I wasn't thinking straight.

Age I think. His stomach was convulsing from 7am on and I thought he might have a hairball... I don't want to talk about him dying too much now. My mind is kinda set on giving him a respectable end. I posted some other information about him dying on this blog where other cat owners have posted about their cats dying.
http://blogcritics.org/archives/2004/01/22/030117.php
I know this is 4chan and yes I am a /b/tard but this is not a joke. The more I talk the more I realize this was a bad idea and that it will only end badly. But right now I am, right now now I am really messed up. I don't know how to deal with this and I need help or advice or someone who has lost a cat to tell me ok here is exactly what I did when I lost my cat. So I know it's the right thing to do.

I understand it was a roughish question. I had to ask as my cat of 16 years was diagnosed with huge mass amounts of cancer in his lungs this past thursday. They gave him one week to two months. I was destroyed. Sorry if my question bothered you.
>> Anonymous
>>216116
I can't clean myself until I know what I'm going to have to do. The thought of his body wrapped in a blanket in a box on my porch is bad enough. If I could tell myself I will bury him tomorrow and tonight I will leave him in the garage that would be ok, but I haven't decided what I'm going to do with him yet and I don't know if there is still more work tht needs to be done. I washed my arms off but this smell is very strong. It's one of those things that just needs to go away overtime unless there is some kind of chemical that hospitals and morgues would use to get it off. I don't know and talking to people is about this with my voice is very difficult. I talked to someone from the cemetary ont he phone and I almost choked trying to speak while gasping for breath between sobs. I have never been responsible for a taking care of a disceased pet before.

It's ok, and I'm very sorry to hear about your cat. I read that cats are fighters when it comes to death, so if you prepare to keep him close to you be ready to either watch him threash about or hold onto him. Tigger did not like me holding him, he kept trying to get away from me but I couldn't stop watching him no matter what. For awhile I would hold him and his breathing would get better but then all of a sudden he would wanted to get up and walk into the kitchen, I thought he was going for some food or water but he staggered right past his bowls and collapsed on teh floor in the bathroom. I watched him for awhile with my mother, she was trying to tell me it was his time just let em go, all that crap. But I did not want to let him go. After he walked out of the bathroom he started walking towards the steps to go down into the basement and then all of a sudden he started convulsing and twitching around like he was caught in a trap or something was trying to capture him and he was fighting to get free... that was the worst moment. Then, he tried to get down the steps to go into the basement and my mother shouted at me not to let him get down, that he would fall down the steps and hurt himself. I opened the door though because he wanted to go through it and I didn't want to deny him something he wanted at that moment. he walked towards the steps, twitching and gagging and as he got to them something told me it was the end and I couldn't let him go so I grabbed him and cradled him in my arms and then he gave up shortly after and his heart stopped. His brain kept sending impulses to his body fighting to stay alive and the last twitch was about 30 seconds after his heart had stopped, his spinal column jerked from his head to his tail and I sat on the steps just trying to keep him warm, hoping that his last thoughts were that I loved him and I didn't want him to leave me.

Those are beautiful pictures. Makes me wish I had taken more of Tigger with a higher quality camera. Also I was thinking just after he passed away, I wish I had recorded his most common meow. The curious one that says, hey what are doing? If I had something in my hands like a piece of food or a small object. He would soemtimes use it to draw my attention to something he was interested in. Also it sounded a little like my name compared to his other meows, probably why he found it worked so well to get my attention. Maybe something other cat owners would like to think about if they haven't caught a video of their cats with sound, recording them speaking. I would give up a lot right now just to hear him calling to me.

That's a great idea... I wish Schala could meow though. She's mute... hahaha.
When she wants my attention, she sits beside me and taps me gently with her paw. I should videotape that, come to think of it, thanks.
And that's cool the way he figured out how to get your attention. They're smarter than a lot of people give them credit for... Again, really sorry for you loss... :(
