ITT: Spray bottles.

I find it just annoying when someone says "spray my cats" like it's fucking great. I don't spray my cats. When I was little, my mom sprayed a cat at appropiate moments and she ended up resenting us that we had to take months to get her to trust us again.

maybe they meant "spay"?

No. I'm pretty sure he meant "spray".

And OP, you have a point there. Spray bottles aren't a necessity when it comes to raising cats and it still amazes me how fucking stupid people are. If you can't think of an alternative, you shouldn't be raising god damn cats

When my cat knocked over a big glass of water all over my boyfriend's computer, he took her into the shower and made her all wet to punish her :< Luckily she likes water though. I think it's mean, personally.

but then he stuck his dick in her ass. That wasn't very nice.

I'm sure it felt good for him.

she loves when he does it too

I would only imagine spray bottles would scare the dickens out of the cat; and instead of thinking about the deed that caused it, they would just go SHIT FUCK WATER NO OH GOD and run around like maniacs.
Personally, I just blow some air on my cat's face. It's enough to make him go WHOA and stop what he's doing. Although, some cats will take this opportunity to smack you in the face. Depends on the cat.

I bang pots and pans, gets them every time.

I'd give them a friendly but a sharp slap on the nose. It works.

This is exactly my tactic.
One cat freaks out if you puff in his face. The other will try to take your eye out.

its a non-abusive method of disciplining an animal, which DOES work, if you would get your head out of your ass and think about it

sounds like YOU did something worse before to the cat...or you don't consistently use the same type of punishment every time the cat does something wrong

you suck at owning a pet, eat shit and die

I've never needed to spray my cat. When she DOES do something bad, I yell. Normally she cowers and then runs and hides. If it's something REALLY bad, I give her a quick tap on the rear.

I've heard that giving cats a really big kiss on the face usually works.

Personally, when my cats did something wrong when they were growing up (such as peeing anywhere apart from the litter tray or the garden), we'd turn them over onto their backs and rub their tummy whilst looking them in the eyes. A few times doing this and they stopped.
