Well, /jp/ had no clue.

Okay, this is going to sound odd... but does anyone know what the law in Japan says about raising chickens, ducks or other farm birds in your yard? Or where I could look it up, preferably in English?

I know Japanese schools have pens of birds and other animals, but I'm talking about at a house.

Since this is /an/, how about stories from those who kept farm birds in their yard, farm or aviary.

Why do you need to know this exactly?

I am pretty sure there are no laws against it per se but the noise/annoyance laws pretty much prohibit farm animals including farm birds, and there probably is a strict maximum number to the tune of no more than 4.

We had seven chickens in our backyard! We live, like...20 blocks from downtown Seattle, too. Now we only have six, because a neighborhood cat is cunty, and we just found out Balthazar's a Rooster, so we have to get rid of him soon...

But still...five is pretty good.

They have a pretty nice enclosure, and once we build the goats a proper house of their own (they've been using the chicken coop til now) we'll connect the enclosure to the coop with a ramp or something.
