hey /an/, I'm planning on getting a dog. My girlfriend wants a mini-schnauzer, and I've been looking at dachshunds and corgis. I don't want anything too big, but also no toy dogs or anything of that sort. What do you guys suggest?

depends on your housing situation...if you got a yard and a little time for daily exercise...and you like brushing a dogs coat(they shed quite a bit...)pembroke welsh corgi ftw!

So do you want medium sized or small? Dachshunds and corgis are a world apart.

Go to shelter
Pick out cutest small dog

You also have to bear in mind what sort of temperament you want. I have a rescued stray that seems to be mostly Parson Russell terrier, and she is absolutely overflowing with energy. If we don't walk her a good distance daily then she is too much to handle.

Also seconding the animal shelter thing. Designer dogs are expensive and they'll find homes no matter what.
