Pictures from my trip to the San Diego Zoo a few weeks back.
THis panther was cool. She was just chilling out right infront of the fence, which is a rare site since animals in this zoo have large cages with plenty of places to hide.
I got to the pandas around their lunch time.
And their naptime
This is a really cool exotic pidgeon from one of the many walk through aviaries. It let me walk right up to it, but when i bent down to pet it, it backed up and stared at me like i crossed the line.
A Siamang here. part of the Zoo's new monkey trail exhibit.
Bearcat > Lolcat
Willabe Wallaby Woo
Tiny Royal Antelope sharing a room with some birds in a hidden corner of the zoo. They actualy seemed excited to see someone.
I had to follow this Hyeena (on the left) for about 10 min before it got in a good place to take a picture. luckly that place was right next to its resting room mate.
Some kind of lynx or bobcat. I forget.
Girrafe with hight marker.
I caught this fella on the way out. quite a few animals at the zoo are uncaged, includeing about 3 or 4 Peacocks. they just wander around and mingle with the guests. I took this picture from about 2 feet away.
The zoo also has TONS of botanica. its easily possible to get lost on one of the many jungle trails.
I just noticed how much I sound like an adertisement for the zoo...
Combo breaker.Nice, pics though. Keep them coming. :D
Thats it. last pic deserves a thread of its own.
>>117285Striped hyena smile!>>117287Neither. That appears to be a caracal. They are awesome>>117290Peacocks are jerks, I hate how zoos let them roam around. They get harassed by kids wanting their feathers, and I saw one raep a wood duck.
>>117296Caracals ARE awesome.
You really need to use a higher shutter speed on your camera there.
I'm orginally from San Diego and these pics make me miss home *cry*
