/an/, i need your expertise....what is this bug? his mouth is like a long straw and had some liquid coming out of it.
I'm not positive, but i believe that is a "Kissing Bug" a.k.a. "Bed Bug"
Some kind of hemipteran, aka 'true bugs', stink bugs, or shield bugs. Completely harmless and definitely not a bedbug.
>>324085thanks anon. will this guy do any harm to a praying mantis? and since its apparently a stink bug, should i feed this guy to the mantis outside?
It's a Pentatomidae, a stink bughttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentatomidae
Are you in Europe? Hard to tell from the pic but it looks somewhat like Rhaphigaster nebulosa.Stinkbugs tend to be unpalatable to other insects because of their defense mechanism.
>>324134It's definitely Rhaphigaster nebulosa. They're flying all around my gatehouse at work. They're harmless. They're not even annoying, they just fly in and walk around. Unlike the horseflies that got in my gatehouse and were too stupid to climb up a window.
