Is it common for female cats to spray or attempt to spray? There's a calico female in my condo complex who goes around spraying (or it looks like that) fences and bushes and stuff. It's weird. I tried looking for nut sacks, but she's all girl.

Picture unrelated. That's my cat, and she doesn't spray.

No, calico males exist. They're rare, but they exist.

>Anyways, sometimes animals are just gender confused.

Is that the only explanation?

Well, my female cat didn't "spray" but she did pee on the bed a bit while she was in heat before and after we got her fixed. Feliway stopped it immediately, and she stopped altogether without the Feliway after a few months. Feliway is for indoors though.

Female cats sometimes spray to mark their territory, especially when stressed or moved into a new place. females can also spray in an effort to get attention from male cats.

I think it's just a personality quirk...my female Lab used to hump things like crazy.
