I shat quite some bricks when I first read about Amphicoelias.
But then I found he isn't officially confirmed and there are no bones left of him, only sketches...

Elephants are bigger than blue whales and blue whales are supposed to be the biggest animals to ever exist. I think I've made my point clear enough.

"How could Tyrannosaurus rex be a hunter? Its arms are so tiny, everyone knows that you want arms to be able to catch things"

Also the fact that T. rex was the only giant carnivore around in most of its range. What the hell would he scavenge off of if nothing's killing the mega-herbivores?

Why the hell is Therizinosaurus with meat-eaters, he's an herbivore.

>Why the hell is Therizinosaurus with meat-eaters, he's an herbivore.

Because Therozinosaurus is a theropod, which includes all meat-eating dinosaurs, and omnivorous dinosaurs, such as therozinosaurs and ornithomimids.

You know I never realised lambeosaurus was so big before. It seems even bigger than some sauropods.
>> Anonymous
This brings back my childhood love of dinosaurs. *sigh*
>> Anonymous
That's nothing. When I was a kid I had this magazine about dinosaurs and there was a picture of several prehistoric sea creatures in it. The largest of them...holy fuck, that fucker looked mean. And he was probably seven times as large as your precious Amphicoelias and even and elephant. Damned if I know what it was called but it was awesome.

Jurassic park made the scale of these trexs and spinos seem way bigger then they really were.
>> Demyx's Landmaster !!vjyCRKGc15d
>>288652
Lipleurodon? Mosasaurus? Elasmosaurus? All of them got to around 60 feet in length or so, same size as many land-bound beasts.

>>288661
Their scale is accurate, we're just not used to seeing creatures as large as they are with humans.

Bruhathkayosaurus is estimated to be much bigger.
>> Nagi
>>288826

More massive, yes, but not necessarily longer. Sort of like how Argentinosaurus is officially the largest dinosaur in terms of mass, but Supersaurus is still longer and Sauroposeidon is still taller.

Also, Bruhathkayosaurus's description is based on material every bit as sketchy as the giant Amphicoelias. "OH MAN, we had the BIGGEST FUCKING BONE you've EVER SEEN. But like...we lost it, dude. BUT SERIOUSLY, it was THIS. BIG. No joke! Hand on a Bible!"

>>288528
>>288630

Most valid species of Lambeosaurus didn't get that big. But L.laticaudus, known from fragmentary material and widely accepted as valid (though it may wind up being Hypacrosaurus instead), did indeed get fucking huge.

As for other fucking huge ornithopods, Shantungosaurus and the newly described genus Zhuchengosaurus also got around that large.

That is an alligator gar, a kind of common North American freshwater fish. The motherfuckers can get huge (10 feet long or so), but that picture makes it look bigger because it's so much closer to the camera than the guy who caught it.
