Well, I apologize for the rather crappy drawing, but I really can't think or find a good picture of the flower I'm looking for. About 5 or so years ago I used to live at a house that had flowers similar to this in our backyard. My mom says they're Crocuses but I've looked at pictures and they just really don't look like the flower I saw. Is anyone in /an/ able to perhaps help out? I remember they'd grow with maybe 2 other flowers (same kind) and they'd have a medium-sized (length) stem and long leaves. The petals were close together kind of like in the picture and it was white with a soft purple color towards the bottom of the petals going towards the stem. The inside of the flower had a light yellow on the petals (not in the middle where the pollen was). I'm afraid thats all I really remember. They had a nice smell to them though.

Halp?

Picture related of course, the flower looked somewhat like this.

Also, not sure if it matters or not, but I live in California.

Hmm, looked it up. It's not a Lily by the looks of the flowers I was seeing...unless maybe they aren't just showing the type. Its not a really big flower or anything.

Though it does have the shape of the Lilys

That looks a lot like a crocus to me, and the picture is really quite accurate considering. you have to remember, the word crocus covers a whole bunch of different species, so the ones you google are probably not going to be the exact same as the ones you grew up with.

Try a search here for crocus to come up with a decent species list: http://www.plantpress.com/plant-encyclopedia/
