/an/ I have a conundrum with which I seek assistance.
My BF and I are getting our first apartment together, a nice big 2 bedroom with a fahbulous living room and nice big deck.
Now, here's the question: We want a fuzzy companion, and the question is: KITTY OR BUNNY?
Neither of us has owned bunnies before, but we've both had cats. Do rabbits really stink? Can they be left alone for a lot of the day while we're in class? Are indoor kitties too bored?
Help pleeze!

don't get a fucking pet. You are both morons. Wait 6 or 7 years.

get a cat that stays in the house all day and makes sandwiches so you wont have to

Awww, sounds like someone is jealous of my non-virginity. Good luck finding anyone to love you. Dogs don't count.
>> Anonymous
No, I'd say wait a few years just to see where its going, cuz an animal can really add stress to a relationship..but when the time is right, get a cat.
>> Anonymous
get a cat, but make sure it likes you better than him, so if you ever break up, you get to keep it. rabbits are stupid and skittish and generally never attach to anyone, and they smell, so kitty is your best option.
>> Anonymous
Bunnies are ok, but kitty is better. Pick one up from the local shelter and give it a loving home.

I don't understand why people are so quick to move in with each other. What if it doesn't work out? Then you're just stuck with a shitty roommate. Think about it!

bunnies arent the little docile fluff balls you think they are; they have plenty of attitude and wont be like having a cat or dog. go with the cat for something you can leave alone while you go to class

bunnies are very social animals, but they much prefer company of their own kind. you'll have to get at least two, and then they'll never really bond with you. they don't smell much (once they figured out what the litter box is meant for) but they'll wreak havoc on your furniture. rabbits chew on anything and you can't teach them not to - it just what they do.

unless you're a real bunny fan, get a kitty. if you plan to leave them alone all day, get two.

Out of the two you mentioned, get a cat. My recommendation, though, is to get nothing. Unless you're married, don't get a pet. Even then you should probably wait. Speaking from experience, here. My boyfriend and I bought a rabbit and then separated and the rabbit came with me.. such a hassle, I loved the ol' bun and I provided for him, but having to move him with me and stuff just wasn't fair to him. And that's what matters - what's fair to the animal.

Anyway, sage because you're a bitch.

Everyone saying "It won't last! You'll break up soon! Teenfag!", you have no idea how long these two have been seeing eachother, and atleast they're moving in together before getting pregnant and getting married like many idiots do. One cat will not add 'stress' to a relationship. Oh wow! A litterbox! Oh wow, a garbage bag! What streeessssss!

But yeah, go with your boyfriend to adopt a kitty and give it a good home with lots of love.

Bunnies are nice, but they do smell.
Also, they are high stress animals. Unless you want to spend ALOT of time getting it used to human treatment, its not worth it.
I had a friend who had a rabbit, she had it potty trained and it was really tame. But on the whole they are alot less domesticated than cats.
Cats are better, but if this is your first apartment, get an older cat. Going to the shelter and getting an old fart of a cat is a good idea. They're normally very affectionate and already litter box trained. (they're also really laid back) Kittens are cute but resist...

Her boyfriend gets up and watches gay porn after she goes to sleep. Difficult to do in the same room as the person you pittyfuck.

cats don't do useful except keep mice away from your grain stores. Bunnies don't do anything useful at all.

Get a dog, since they can protect you and they can hunt.

if you need an animal to protect you, you're a pansy piece of shit that doesn't deserve to be called a man.

OP here. We've been together for 6 years, first off.
Second, we have a bedroom and a study room.
We're waiting to get married when we both finish grad school and have the money.
Thanks for the help you guys! (I think I'm leaning towards a cat.) Cats are easier to find litter trained and well-socialized at most shelters.

Get both and breed them
>> Anonymous
I had 2 bunnies.. fed them too well and they got huge and fat... and made a bunch of smaller bunnies sent them to a farm... they died after a yr in a bad typhoon... drowned...
>> Anonymous
Dogs are overrated....but they taste fucking good. its like pork, but really tangy/gamey and kinda dry. Serious, you should try some.
>> Anonymous
My girlfriend had a bunny before, it used to poop and piss everywhere, but he was still cute.

I've owned both rabbits and cats in the past few years and let me tell you neither one of them are worth it. Rabbits stink, bite, and chew up wires, and cats are ungrateful, moody, and possessive.

I don't think I've been able to go for more than a week with either one of them before I just cave and end up beating them to death with the steel end of my work boot.
