God dammit, /an/. I bought some flowers(sweet peas) and a little pot and they've been growing in front of a window exposed to sun for a week. They're about 2 inches now, the sprouts, and I wake up this morning and my cat has eaten half of them and pulled out the rest. How do I make her fucking stop? And I can't really put the flowers outside because it's 30-40 degrees at night here and I can't put my cat outside because she is an inside cat and is scared of the outside. Please help

Buy some petgrass (you can get it at places like petsmart) for her to chew on instead. To stop her from uprooting the plants, you can put tinfoil on top of the soil.

Well if thats your cat I'd tell her dyke sister to watch where's she cutting with her shears and not to chop off the whole thing. Chances are they were attempting to care for your pathetic little sprout when they had an accident.

you put the foil ON the soil? we tried putting the foil around the pot, but that didn't work. And wouldn't the pet grass make her think it was okay to eat plants?

There is also a pet spray for plants that make it taste bad that might work. Most department stores have it.

Yeah, put it actually ON the soil.

Anyway, there's a reason cats eat grass - as far as I know (I might be totally wrong) they do it to help digestion. If you give them something else to eat, they should leave your plants alone. Worked for mine.

I second the cat grass suggestion. It works.

Also, you can buy linseed oil from herbal remedy shops. Aside from having uses for humans cats don't like the smell of linseed oil so it's used as a deterant to keep them away from things. for example, in OPs case, rub some around the edge of the plantpot this should work.

Also (quoting myself here) think yourself lucky. I was growing radishes indoors as I dont have a garden but have big deep window ledges and my youngest cat got into the trough pots, dug around in my plants and pooped :(

ps I thought your cat looked a bit peeved wearing that scarf, not half as peeved as my young cat wearing her bomber jacket :p (she only had it on for a couple of minutes, it was a lame christmas present)
