Dear /an/

Today outside of where I work I caught a wild bunny (It was pretty small and wasn't good at escaping) I let it go, should I have kept it?

I'm not a bunny expert, but wild bunnies can get stressed out if kept with people. Early death then results. They're supposed to be in biiig wide open places and all. Pet store bunnies are better with cages, (but they need some runnin' room too!)

Wild bunnies are adorable, but not good pets.

You did the right thing. Rabbits are much harder to take care of than everyone expects. They're not little stuffed animals you could put in a small cage to only take out when you feel like playing with it. They're free, wide-roaming animals that need LOTS of space and interaction with other bunnies to thrive. Only putting it in a small cage all on its own will lead to an early, painful death.

NEVER have a rabbit as a pet unless you can give it a wide area to roam around at.
