Hello /an/. I need some help.

My dog has a lot of skin problems, due to his breed (Chihuahua and Poodle mix). The vet said to give him Venison food, so I have been doing that. It's been working.

Now for the problem...

What should I give him for treats? I don't know what to give him and I'm afraid of his skin irritation coming back.

pic related, him at 8 months.

I don't fucking know. Ask the vet who told you about the diet that's working, he's obviously got a handle on what the dog's specific problem is.

I heard about this amazing new invention called the telephone, it allows you to talk to people who are far away.

affection and praise make good rewards. your dog won't die if it goes a month without milkbones.

Your dog's got food allergies. Many common pet food fillers (corn, wheat, etc) cause allergies, but meats can too. My dog can't eat anything with chicken in it. Do you know what exactly he's allergic to? Can't reccomend a treat without knowing this, but in the mean time just use his venison kibble for treats.

And just for shits and giggles, what brand of food was he on before the venison food?

I don't know what brand of venison-based food you've been using, but if it's working, great. Keep him on it.

Off the top of my head, I know Nature's Recipe makes venison treats ... Either that, or maybe look into 100% freeze-dried beef liver treats.

Yeah, but it has already been a month or so.

We've tried beef, chicken and lamb. I really do forget which brand, but it was neither cheap or expensive.

I looked up Natures Recipe treats and it says it contains other contents aside from Venison. Ones that he is allergic to.

You still haven't said what he's allergic to, which makes this really difficult.

Give him carrots.

Oh, I meant to say he was allergic to beef chicken and lamb. sorry. And I'll try carrots.

I knew a trainer who really liked to use these.. they come in a couple of different flavors, too.

If anything, I'd just go to the nearest big pet store and browse. There are tons of dog treats out there that don't contain beef, chicken, or lamb.
