So I got a firebelly newt in grade 3, cause the class I was in had a couple and they were the coolest things ever. It is now 15 years old, and it wont DIIEEE. Seriously. It got boring like a month after I got it. How long are these things supposed to live for? Ive given it away before, but people get bored with it and insist on giveing it back.

This is why you need to research pets before buying them NOW GTFO

Just kill it

Give it to a local fish/pet store.

Set it free.

It's not your fault if a predator/winter/pedobear kills it.

Oh god. Yea, well, when you're in Grade 3 and you want a pet, researching it isnt the biggest concern in your mind at the time. Well, there's a huge swamp behind my house due to all the recent rain. Thats where he's going. Im totally gonna feel bad about this, but, ah well.
