Holy crap, what kind of spider is that??

It looks like a Brown Recluse to me. No, they can't kill you, but they can do very nasty shit to your muscle tissue. You can probably lose a finger or your toes to a recluse if you didn't get medical help quickly.

>>57472
recluses do NOT grow that large, typically not bigger than an inch across

Hobospider, no wait it must be a WOLFSPIDER

I get those now and again, no clue what they are but they aren't very agressive. Usually just use a tumbler and cardboard to take them out of the house, but it's probably not healthy having a whole colony of them crawling around.

DON'T WORRY! I'VE CALLED FOR ASSISTANCE!!
>> Anonymous
aye, looks very much like a wolf spider.
it's prolly not dangerous since spiders who catch their prey by running it down don't have need for a particularly strong venom
>> Anonymous
Whoah. We have tiny versions of that spider living in our house, but they're about 2 cm long max. Since our little "pets" are wolf spiders and almost identical to that in looks - if not size - I guess that must be one, too. Just never knew they could grow that big.

That's an Austrailian Huntsman spider, and I've never seen a tarantula get that big.
That is Clock Spider. It lives in clocks and uses them to teleport between locations.

You know what's weird, I'm scared of most spiders, they're so quick and small, but tarantulas don't bother me. I'd honestly rather find a tarantula in my house than any other type of spider.

>>57624
ignorance is bliss eh? those little fuckers can move faster than any other spiders, and some of them can shoot their back hairs at you like missles and blind you.
>> Anonymous
>>57645

Well, I think since a young age it's just been beaten into my head that people had tarantulas as pets, and that most of them aren't very aggressive.

But yeah, I know tarantulas can be nasty fuckers.
>> Anonymous
listen jesus you guys don't know what you are talking about. "shoot out like little missles" first off I like my T's but I'm not going to have my face down by my most docile tarantula. And all my T's have their own personalities so yeah some are mean some aren't. But it really depends on the species. no tarantula or spider can run very fast for very long, they have book lungs which are not good for long distances. furthermore T's have to rear up on their back legs to bite you, so to get bit you would have to be stupid. last of all no one has ever died from a tarantula bite. I'm done damn it

calm down bro, you are going to give yourself skin failure!

ive seen them rougly the same size but it was alredy dry so i just left it there, hope you don't kill it; she's kinda cute
>> mikey
i believe that's a brown recluse from what i can see, and if that's your house, you'd better clear them right outta there son. wouldn't want to have some big festering spider bite shits on your arm or whatnot. poisonous spider bites are no joke. i'm sure that's common sense though.
>> Serenity
Brown recluses can't seriously be that huge. No fucking way.

If you guys aren't just spewing shit, that's fucking nuts. Ugh.

My mom got bit by one of those fuckers.

Definately a huntsman, get them all the time.
i dont even think they are poisonous
>> Anonymous
Heck no that is not a brown recluse. Brown recluses are very small, about the size of a US penny (legs and all).

Also, brown recluses are very rarely found in the open. Like the name suggests, they are very reclusive. They are generally found in uninhabited dark areas, like forgotten piles of junk in the back corner of a garage or basement.

ITT Nobody knows WTF a brown recluse is!
SRSLY, recluses only get about the size of a human thumbnail or so. They are not big enough to sick their legs out from under a clock.
Also tarantulas apparently have missiles like in Macross?
>> Anonymous
OK people, start to tell me where the fuck you live when you get those inside of your houses???? So that I know never to visit your country. Biggest spider I'v seen was size of my thumb and even those give me nightmares all the time.

Hmm, I'd think it's a kind of wolfspider, which is in term of body smaller then a tarantula or akin, but does have such long legs.

Of course they're not poisonous.

...Because spiders aren't fucking poisonous.

They're venomous.

Poison=Ingested. Venom=Injected.

I'd say huntsman

2/3 down under "huntsman" it says SA, but it's not restricted to there.

So if I swallow venom, it becomes poison?
>> Anonymous
>>57979
No. One is dangerous if injested, the other is dangerous received via bite.

Drinking the sad little amount of venom your average spider makes wouldn't do much. Maybe make you sick.

Getting bit, on the other hand, will fuck you up.
>> Anonymous
It is definitely a huntsman spider, any australian would be able to tell you that.

They don't normally get that big - maybe two-thirds that size. They don't bite generally but they're FAST and they like to hide in your car and run across the dashboard while you're driving. I had one run up under my skirt once >_<
>> Anonymous
Definately a huntsmen spider, I have one in my bedroom (gets rid of the moisquitos).

They love to scare the shit out of you at times (walk out side in the night and they may hang glide past you on the wind). They can grow to the size of a tea saucer if not a little bigger. They are the only known social spider, when you peel back the bark on some trees you find loads of them. Not really poisonous, they are commonly regarded as being harmless, I pick them up and watch them run up my arms. Though if you annoy them a lot and I mean you will have to really annoy them a lot for it to become aggressive.

Anything else?

I want one as a free-roaming pet in the house! :D

I would put so many holes in the wall trying to smash that god damn thing.

it looks like a hersilid, they're native to many regions in southern africa, but originated in the kalahari. Many of the ex-patriots in Malawi referred to them as "kalahari-feraris", because they move so fast.
