>>147811 Why would they care (unless they're animal activists)? It's not like pigs are sacred, they're unclean.
>>147891 I'm a US citizen and I don't eat beef, pork, poultry, or game (I do eat seafood). That's for health reasons, not moral ones. I wouldn't torture an animal, but when I'm shopping for blue crab I whack them like everyone else to make sure they're healthy enough for me to throw them into a pot of boiling water.
Domestic animals rely on people for their individual lives. We feed them, and, with the exception of animals we have bred to be semi-independent, most would be unable to fend for themselves. Not only that, but the simple existence of domestic animals is a human endeavor. We turned wolves into dachshunds. We made other dogs, we made cattle, we made ferrets, and we made a ton of other shit while we were at it. They just wouldn't be here if we didn't find them useful, tasty, or entertaining. Does that mean we should be senselessly cruel? No, but it does mean that we aren't beholden to treat them like we do other sentient and rational beings.
