I hit my dog, is this wrong?
He ran out chasing some Chihuahua barking mad.

Dont hit your dog anymore :(

He won't learn anything. You are the one who needs to learn to deal with your anger issues.

no anger, he was a good dog, that wanted recognition from my first dog. So what ever my Sid did, Jub jub [in pic] would copy to impress.

He used to like anything that moved, but he turned for the worst. Usally i'd walk him the other way when he barks.
But this time he some how got out side through some space time rift and i waited till he came back.

smacked his ass 2x.

dachsunds are incouragible, so i would advise against rough treatment

i hit my dog when hes acting up or just acting stupid. i swear my dog is a retard. i have a jindo and it is the most stubborn, untrainable dog ever. im trying to train him with lots of positive feedback and treats but he still doesnt get that when he does something i want him to do he is rewarded. he thinks when hes forced to do something he doesnt want to do he is being punished even when i give him his favorite treats and praise him for his obedience.

this is my retard dog.

He'll learn, but only if you hit him hard enough. He needs to yelp when he is struck. Ideally every time you walk in the room your dog should automatically roll over on its back and lay there quivering.

I know hitting a dog is counterproductive and morally wrong, but I have done it on occasion.

He (Lab) barks up a storm (sees a squirrel outside for example) and I tell him to shut up. He does, but then sometimes he barks again and looks right at me. I think he is saying "fuck you!". So I smack him on the ass but not very hard. Then he mopes around for like 30 seconds.

Hitting your dog for being a stupid fuck isn't bad for them. If he's doing something he KNOWS isn't right then you can give him a smack on the head. Don't beat his brains in, but let him know that you know that he knows that he should stop being an asshole.

Tell him to shut up, close his mouth manually if possible, and then immediately tell him he's awesome, he's great, Good Shut Up, etc. I used to be like that with my dog. She didn't get what I was trying to say until I told her she was good for being quiet.

Hitting a dog just makes it fear YOU and associate YOU with pain. As soon as the behavior occurs give them a strong no. Make sure it can hear your displeasure. Grabbing the muzzle might also work. If the behavior continues or they balktalk you, lock them in a room or a crate for awhile and don't pay attention to them. If the behavior was too long ago, they will have no idea what you're punishing them for. Just forget about it.

I forgot about that. Make sure the dog receives positive reinforcement too. It's more effective than negative reinforcement.

My parents used to smack my dog with a newspaper when she was a rowdy puppy. Not violently, just enough to startle and surprise her.

Now she's a grown dog who is afraid of paper. How the hell do I undo this?

maybe keep her on a leash and slowly introduce the paper closer and closer while giving her some treats to re usher her that the paper is no longer a threat or will hurt her? just dont smack her with the paper anymore.
