Can ants transmit diseases like bacteria and deadly viruses, especially from their bites?

I'm just guessing here, but I think it's quite unlikely. "Deadly viruses" tend to be quite specialized things and I don't see any reason why they would use ants as their temporary hosts. After all, ants bite people rarely.

Sure, ants have their own share of diseases, but they should be relatively harmless to humans.

yes but they are rare at least for mammals. diseases are not limited to bacteria/viruses (for example worms). and you don't need to get bitten (though it is common such as malaria/mosquitoes). it can through ingestion as well.

a quick google search and i got this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolbachia

it is a bacteria thatcauses a very common arthropod disease. doesn't affect humans.

If you get bitten up that badly, you don't need to worry about some ant-borne disease. There are plenty of good old generic flora and fauna hanging out on your body waiting for the right opportunity.

Yes, like all living beings on this earth they can spread bacteria and viruses, don't know if any of them are deadly though.
