Watch for "Growing Up: Cheetah" on Animal Planet, if you get it. If they could be domesticated, hell yes I would want one. (But also watch "Growing Up: Black Leopard" to see a REAL "house cat." Damn. Oh, just watch "Growing Up." All of 'em.)

your information is outdated - cheetah breeding is in captivity is now depressingly easy - the solution? Seperate the males and females for a month or so - then bring them back together..just like in the wild! - also works for asian golden cats.
how do i know this? I work with big cats and used to walk a pair of cheets round the zoo on leashes. Their purring sounds a bit like a V8 idling..they can be 'socialised' but they are in no way 'domesticated'
