Shark attacks. Cake.
I've heard the argument over the years about shark attacks. I've read the statistics and analyzed every aspect of the why and the how and I have personally come to this conclusion.

Sharks attack people because they can.

Sounds stupid? Well I'll explain.

I live in the midwest, I see very little oceanic life. As far as I am concerned, Sharks do not exist, thats how little of them I have seen. Now lets pretend I'm a shark, I live in the middle of the ocean... As far as I'm concerned humans don't exist. In fact I could go my ENTIRE life without seeing a sing solitary human being. Most sharks do.

Humans do litter the oceans, but more along the shore lines. Granted there are thousands of people swimming about a day, but by figures, you'd have to get just about every damn person on the planet together to fill the ocean up with their bodies. So its very probable to say that many sharks don't even know what the hell we are.

With that being said, I'll move on to my point. Now lets say you are out in the woods, no food, nothing to eat, you are starving. You see a rabbit, you chase that rabbit, use precious energy, eventually catch and eat it. Now lets say a day or so later you see a walking over weight cow with a broken leg. Its staggering, it can barely move in this environment... At first you might be like "OMG, that cow is sick, I had better not eat it..." but then thoughts of dieing out in the woods of starvation come to mind. You have a slow, stupid animal right in front of you. One out of twenty people would go for it no questions asked.

I believe the same could be said about sharks.

Think about it, chasing a seal all day, you would get tired of that crap. Imagine seeing a beastie of the same size swimming like a slow moron on the surface. You would be a bit curious if you were a shark. You might say "Somethings fishy" but then again, if you seen enough of these creatures... you might say "Fuck it, Im hungry..."

I guess what I am getting at is Sharks probably aren't mistakenly attacking people. I've hard the trype that they "bite and swim away because we taste bad"...whatever. They bite and wait for us to bleed. If sharks seen more people, if we were more abundant to them we would definitely become a major food source.

Nobody wants to state the obvious:

::::::::Humans taste REALLY good:::::::::

I heard humans taste a lot like bacon. Never chewed on myself or others though, so can't be sure.

Well pig skin and human skin are very similar so I would surmise that humans taste like pork and that there is a god.

Sharks are known to BITE people, but how many times shark has actually eaten a person?

food chain = Coconut > Shark > Human > Chikkenz?

what OP is saying is that sharks are deliberately attacking people? You jus said that sharks have no clue what a person is, all he sees is something thrashing about on the surface (like a wounded creature would).... To think that we would be a major food source is retarded. Thats assuming that humans wont learn from shark attacks. That we wouldnt easily fish them to extinction.

Well, Bull Sharks attack people and don't let go. There have been several Bull Shark fatalities in the last couple of years that have been reported. Even more that have not been reported in Africa because the sharks are in areas that are primitive and the natives can't inform anyone that Jumba got eaten.

In fact, if you ask a biologist who studies shark which one is the worst man eater, Great White or a Bull, they're going to say the Bull hands down.

So, Bull Sharks have found out that people are like Big Macs: quick, easy, tasty but not very filling.

sharks eat seals naturally
people look like seals from above
people are made of meat
skarks eat both meat and seals.
skarks will not ask you if you are food, they don't have hands, so they use their mouths to explore things.
even if they are just curious, the only way they can find more about you, is by biteing you, which youare not made for, thus: it is an attack.

I like the bullshit statistics about shark attacks that count people that never even go near shark infested waters at all. Hell most people that go to the beach barely even touch the water. Skim off all those guys and the likelihood that you on a surfboard next to a shark is an oh shit situation is huge as fuck.

Sea Lions have blubber
Blubber= More Calories
yes even more calories than the average obese american.

So no we don't make good food for sharks, a large Tuna or sea lion would be better for them.

They attack people when they mistake them for these prey animals
Keep in mind I'm talking about large predatory sharks
