Cat piss Anonymous
I'm pretty sure no one is going to reveal anything I don't already know but here goes. I have an 11 year old cat, gizmo. He's a maine coon type, and generally isn't too much of a bother. However lately he's been very asshole-ish.

We moved a few months ago, and he seemed fine with it. Put his box in the basement (concrete floor) and all was well. Then he starts pissing on the floor instead of in his box, mostly my fault, got a bit dirtier than it should.

So I bought a second box as a back up and now he pisses either in my bathroom or on some carpet somewhere, and he won't piss in the box, only shit. What gives?

Today I scrubbed his box with bleach which was heavily diluted, and then put a new brand of litter, something I haven't tried. I hope this works.

Nothing else I can think of would have causes him to stop pissing, no new people, animals, situations etc, nothing changed as far as I know. He has plenty of privacy down there too.

OP here, Yeah that's about all I can think of. I mean he's using the box, but for shitting only, and he drops bombs, but cat piss is the devil. I'm trying to catch him mid act so I can escort his stupid ass into the box.

Peeing outside of the litter box is usually a sign of illness. In other words..

TAKE HIM TO A FUCKING VET

Take your kitty to the vet and have him checked for a UTI (urinary tract infection). I doubt this is what it is, but with your kitty's age, I'd have him checked to be sure. Most likely, he's just pissed that you let his box get so dirty, and is now taking it out on you.

OP here, the last 2 times I thought this as well and I it's cost me $50 each time and they say it's nothing. Usually UTI also comes with a cat being reserved or changing behaviors, apart from the pissing he's exactly the same cat he's always been. I don't want to shell out another $50 for nothing .... I've tried that detection shit too, nothing.
