i took this picture of my pumpkin plant and it came out really well so i figured it would be appreciated being here. anyways the reason i was taking pictures of this is because the leaf appears to be dying its starting to wilt i dont know if the first leaves always die off of plants or not.

Yes, they usually do. So long as your plant is growing new leaves further up, its fine. The first pair of leaves from a germinating seed of most species are all a small round or teardrop shape, and are temporary generic solar panels to make food quickly as the seed reserves run out. The next set of leaves should be of the normal shape for the species and will last longer. As plants grow even bigger they will also shed healthy leaves from the bottom up as younger growth obscures the light and makes the lower leaves redundant.

The first two leaves? If those are Cotyledons it's completely natural for those leaves to die off.

ok well about 20 hours later it hasnt changed except grow at the regular rate, oh that leaf thats curled around like that is because my cat chewed on it while i was sleeping and the plant healed very nicely.
