So I used this on my dog and after a week he had fleas again. Any ideas on what I can do? Can I use it again or will it hurt him?

zap them with a lazer gun!!!

(no seriously, try a flea collar, if they still exist though.
Anyway, I used them on my previous dog, and it always worked wondrous. Oh and It's not my previous dog because I used flea collars on it XD)

I was told on here yesterday that flea collars are useless and dangerous. o.O

OP, did you use some kind of flea shampoo or spray on your rugs/furniture?

This should have worked. In fact, Advantage is so effective the fleas are killed the moment that they come into contact with the animal.I would return the unused portion (if any) to the dealer and demand replacement or refund. You possibly got a batch that just sat on the shelf too long. Check the box to see if there's any expiration date. Barring that, check the dosage. Size matters.

Thanks.

Also, turns out my room mate washed the dog 2 days after we applied it, which apparently can render it useless so I re-applied it after I called my vet and they said it was safe. Sigh, this fucking shit is expensive but it better work.
>> fleas om anon
my vets says this formula not working so well anymore, she suggested frontline...

i had the same issue and i called the vet and they said that they have found fleas and ticks are becoming immune to frontline and advantage, try prmaris i think it is, and also flea bomb your house.

Like others have said, my vet told me fleas are becoming immune to Advantage and Frontline, so I started using Comfortis. It worked well the first few months, not sure right now though since I have found some fleas on him. I think they are coming from the cats though......
Also, I think the minimum amount of time you should give between doses of Advantage is 3 weeks, not positive. You could get him a Capstar, that kills fleas right away but doesn't keep them off. The Advantage may keep them off after that though.

The fleas may be in your house or your yard, or on other pets. Bomb your house, suffocate any bedding or toys in a garbage bag. If you have a cat make sure he's protected too. Check your local hardware store, they might have a flea treatment for your lawn.
I use BioSpot on all my fuzzies. Never had a problem with fleas or other critters, even when we've been camping.
