Does a lion cub purr more loudly than an adult cat? Do lion cubs purr at all for that matter?
I don't think any of the big cats purr. They growl, which sounds like purring sometimes, but it's not.
I think Cheetahs can purr.
do you think jaguars pur?
>>133477Pantherine cats don't purr, other cats do. Pantherine cats include lions, tigers, leopards, jaguars and clouded and snow leopards. Cheetahs aren't pantherine cats but more closely related to cougars, and they can purr.
>They growl, which sounds like purring sometimes, but it's not.A cruel joke on nature's part, if ever I've heard of one.
I saw Growing up Tiger on Animal Planet and the tiger cubs would make kind of a sniffing noise which I think they referred to as "chuffing" when it wanted affection. That's probably as close as they get to purring.
