Ok /an/,

There's a cat outside my door begging to come in. I've never seen him around here before though I've seen a lot of strays around here. He's missing a patch of skin around his neck.

I don't have any food for a cat around my apartment. Mostly just halloween candy and frozen stuff a cat wouldn't eat. I really don't know if I should feed him because I'm around it will start hanging around here. My land lords don't allow us to have pets and call animal control on animals that hang around here.

What should I do /an/?

Pic related, it's the cat.

Here's the bald spot. Looks like he had a reaction to some collar. He's really skinny though so I don't think he's had an owner for a while.

Could be worn away hair from a collar

Do you have any friends or family members with cats that you could get a bit of food and borrow a carrier from?

Its a CURSED CAT

YOU ARE NOW CURSED

nothing to worry about, its seems to be from a collar that he/she had on for too long. my cat would get that if she had a collar on for a long period of time...her collar wasn't tight either. since it obviously had a collar but now does have one....it must have belonged to someone. im going to assume it was someone who didnt want the cat anymore and dumped it. you can try keeping it temporarily in secret and put up FOUND CAT signs. but i doubt the owners will come forward.

if no one comes forward you can give it away to a friend or family member you know if you dont feel comfortable giving it to a shelter. good luck OP

I was waiting to hear what the OP says because I'm not sure about this myself -- would the cat spray inside the apartment
If he had a screened in patio he could keep the cat out there with food and water, an old blanket or towel to lay on, and a cardboard box with some litter until he brought it to the shelter

OP here. I live in a tiny apartment so there's no patio I can keep it on. The land lords do semi regular inspections so keeping it in secret for nearly any length of time is not an option.

I did let the cat in for a bit. Seems to be house trained. I don't have any friends around here that don't live in a dorm so don't have anyone to give the cat to. My parents already have 2 pets so I can't give it to them either. I'll buy some food for it tomorrow if it's not gone by then. I may contact the local shelter as well.

It's such a friendly cat... I hate my landlords... ;_;

I just noticed it's declawed. Also has some scabs at the top of its neck.

More pics! =D

Just as a precaution - when you go to put the cat in a carrier I suggest picking him up in a towel so he doesn't thrash around or scratch you

Thanks for caring about kitty!

hey OP, since you cant keep the cat and your probably gonna give it up to a shelter, please do some research and give the cat to a shelter who does not sell their animals to b.dealers (animal testing)

That cat is either abandoned or lost. I you can, try asking around if anyone lost a cat. if not, you may have to call animal control to take care of it but chances are that they will put it to sleep.

Thanks for the tip. I don't see my town anywhere on that list.

I don't suppose that anyone living near Ruston, Louisiana wants a cat, do they? Sigh...

Weak willed assholes who can't say no to vermin wanting to come into their shit holes seem to be far too common in /an/. Next time grow some balls and give the cat a good kick if it wants in. You wouldn't let a rat in if it was standing outside your door, catfag.

I would if it was a pet rat.
