I assume I was bitten by a spider or venomous insect of some kind. ID has been difficult as the bite is on my upper asscheek and I can't get a good picture or see it well in a mirror.

It's been about a week, and the bite seems to be healing on its own. At first it was red with a bump in the middle, very itchy and would hurt if I put pressure on it (luckily it was on my upper asscheek and I was able to sit comfortably). The bump in the middle led me to believe it to be a chigger bite.

A week later, it's still there but no longer painful, is barely discolored and the lump in the middle has hardened and kinda feels like a scab. Pressure doesn't cause pain, but scratching the hard bit kind of does. Doesn't really itch now either.

What does /an/ think? I'm in San Antonio, TX.

Pic is bite as of now, crappy because angle is hard.

Spontaneously appearing Ass-Nipple, to be correct.

Maybe it was a radioactive chigger? Enjoy your third nipple. :)

op here

Iit does look kinda like a nipple but I don't want a nipple on my ass. It kind of aches too, like when I'm walking I feel a mild ache in my left ass. It might be psychosomatic though, I get that sometimes (eg whenever I think about fleas I get itchy. I HATE FLEAS DESPITE NOT HAVING SEEN ONE SINCE MY DOGS DIED 13 YEARS AGO!)

Seems about the same today in appearance. I've done some research and it could be a mild recluse bite (they don't always make your flesh rot) though I haven't noticed any other symptoms (fever, shakes etc). In fact aside from a slight ache in my ass I feel pretty damn good. I'm kind of a pessimist when it comes to biting/stinging insects so a chigger bite is far more likely.

Regardless, if it doesn't show improvement by Monday I'm gonna schedule a dermatologist visit.

lol, don't worry, I'm sure it will be fine. If you don't have any other symptoms besides the faint ache, you're probably going to be alright. Could be either a non/faintly venemous spider or just some random creepy crawlie that shuffled through your bed one night. Keep an eye on it for another day or so just to be sure it doesn't randomly get infected. If it grows, gets more sore, or turns red, get it checked. Otherwise I wouldn't worry. :)

The more interesting question here is how many asses do you have?

It's most likely a staph infection. Recluse bites aren't that common.

staph would be a lot more red. if the redness has gone down, it's probably not staph.
