sup /an/?i was just cleaning my basement and i saw a beetle about the size of a quarter with jagged white lines on its back. being the good citizen i am, i bent down to scoot it on my hand and take it outside. but when i touched it, it started to HISS at me and wave its big feeler things at me. it has succeeded in scaring the hell out of me.Anyone know what kind of beetle it is? Does it bite? I wish to know more about my hell spawned coleopterous friend. At first I thought it was a june beetle but it looks different from the ones i've seen.Even took a video of it. I was trying to get it to hiss but it is camera shy. btw i named it Biscuit.http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=50mn2h&s=4(you have to turn your head sideways. crappy camera phone)

can't see shit, but it -sounds- like a ten lined scarab beetle. They hiss too, and have lines on their backs so they are probably related.
>>279123sorry, tried to get the best picture i could. he looks really similar but he isn't green and his lines aren't as defined.i now know he's some sort of june beetle though. i THINK he's a Mount Hermon June beetle..
