Fuck yeah Majidae family! I was just up in Nantucket and there were tons of their carapaces and limbs on a beach around a jetty. I watch a sea gull fight with this huge one before the sea gull grab one of his legs, flew up in the air, and dropped him on a rock.

What species is that? Is he luminescent or is just his color and the flash of the camera?

It's his actual color, I don't know the species. I also have some video of one of the ones we saw and a squid.

I love this one. All these pictures are awesome, but the moonlight one is the best. Thanks for sharing.

Cozumel and Playa del Carmen in general rock for snorkeling and the like. I wanted to grab some of the stuff I saw but knew I probably should just leave it be.

Oh, in addition to the smiley face I also found a tombstone out on one of the reefs. I think it got washed out there when the hurricane blew through.

>> Anonymous

either a jackknife fish or juvi spotted drum
jackknifes are pretty rare and would be a cool find
I'm too busy to make positive ID between those two though

It was a friend's camera, he took a large chunk of the pictures. I can find out for ya if this thread is still up tomorrow.

The camera used was a Canon Powershot Digital ELPH SD600. It was in a waterproof casing and we used a diffusion plate.
