>A shining example of stupidity I found on the SA forums:
Nature is an amazing thing, and this couldn't be any more obvious, but perhaps one of it's most amazing feats is evolution and natural selection. After doing a little bit of casual studying of human survival and all the feats we overcame to survive to this day I had a strange realization. Every species that is alive today has survived countless tasks of survival and endurance, species including...

pugs

Now as much as I like pugs, the thought of a clan of pugs out in the wild just cracks me up. Even the first line on pugs health in wikipedia makes me laugh.

"Because Pugs lack longer snouts and prominent skeletal brow ridges, they are susceptible to eye injuries such as puncture wounds and scratched corneas and painful Entropion."

And lets not just leave it at pugs, this list includes daschunds and pretty much every domesticated cat, with a strong emphasis on scottish folds.

I guess the simple answer would be that they have been bred to fuck by humans for their companionship skills and not for their survival skills, but what were pugs before they were tamed? I can't imagine them looking radically different, although I expect their behavior would be. Every animal that lives has a significant form of self defense, I would like to know what made these animals special.

No one should expect any less from a bunch of idiots who paid money to post on an internet forum.
