hello /an/, firstly, I don't lurk around here much so apologies if this is the millionth repost to the same question.
We just found out our cat has bladder stones, which makes her pee blood occasionally and feel sick in general. We're giving her medicine and special food, but while she's sick, she makes sure to let us know by going on a urine-rampage, peeing on ALL OF THE GODDAMN SOFAS AND PILLOWS, repeatedly. She did that once every couple months, which is annoying, but now it's like twice a day, and she always makes sure she isnt caught in the act..
We basically need to keep a plastic foil over the sofas all the time, and she pees on them immediately if we forget to put it back after sitting there. How do I stop this madness?

You might not be able to do much. She thinks it hurts to pee because of the place she pees (the litterbox). She is trying to pee at other places. I know this is not the answer you wanted to hear :\

While I was waiting for a six-week appointment to get my kitten fixed, he pissed and pooped on stuff almost every day. After he was done, he stopped within a day. Words of encouragement, dear anon: it won't last longer than her sickness.

they make diapers for old dogs that piss everywhere, you could try one of those if you think your cat would allow it.

Wouldn't that mean that getting another litterbox and putting it in a different place might solve the problem?

tried that, she ignored it completely
