Are beagles expensive? I really want one
>> Anonymous
no, mine was only $200.00.
fairly inexpensive dog compared to other breeds.

great dog, but follows his nose.

I've seen puppies regularly in the paper here in the midwest for about 50 bucks, and adults are given away free a lot. Can't guarantee quality.

beagles are cheap because theyre notorious run-aways; my friends hopped a 5 foot tall fence following a deer

bought my beagle for $50.00 she was bred to hunt and the owner wasnt exactly the best. But she is awesome regardless

I can attest to the runaway part, but they generally come back, if they can. They're insatiable about following scents and once they pick up one that is interesting to them, they go nuts, wanting to track it down. Brother's beagle used to springboard off a 8 foot wooden fence, to jump over a 6 foot wire fence, then he'd be off and running. He'd vanish for an hour to a couple days, but would always return. He'd sit outside the front door, yelping and scratching at the door, to let people know he was home.

Oh, and the yelping, yalping, bark, whatever you wanna call it. That, can get horribly annoying, especially late in the middle of night, when they suddenly start feeling all wired with energy. Besides those two traits, all the beagles that I've been exposed to, are all pretty smart, lovable and playful dogs.

another example of a cute dog breed that are very hard to raise properly.

it will try to runaway on the smallest stimuli, and will always be very vocal, barking at the smallest things.

They do let their noses carry them off a lot, yeah, but my beagle is actually very quiet.

ew are u kidding me? beagles are the rats of the dog world, people do experiments and shit on them. stupid animals, ugly, annoying. they NEVER shut up, literally. i work with probably 200 dogs a week and beagles are everyones least favorite. yes they are cheap. get a rat instead

I'm not a fan of beagles. They're cute and all but they're yappy and loud as hell and always smell funny to me.
>> Anonymous
depends. Here, VA, you can get them for about $50-200.
But thats because people use them for hunting.
If theyre AKC reg, show quality, they can get pretty pricey.

Free purebred beagle pups in AR. My dad brings new ones home whenever his old dogs die or run away.

I've always had beagles or beagle mixes and they're great dogs, provided you can keep them entertained (and preferably indoors).

If you're not worried about getting a little baby puppy with papers and stuff, check your local animal shelter...I work in one and we get beagles all the time. Because yeah, they run away a lot.
