Hey /an/, do any of your pets notice sounds from the TV/radio/computer/etc.? Both my cat and my dog are completely oblivious to such devices

Only if there's animal noises/weird human grunting coming out of the speakers.

Yes. My cat leaves the room whenever Kelly Clarkson or Evanescence comes on the radio.

He also watches movies sometimes, but he hates whenever horses come on the tv. We tried to keep him in the room once when watching Hidalgo, but that didn't go over well.

I was watching animal police once, and there were a few badly injured kittens being nursed back. The poor little kitties were just mewing for minutes and my abyssinian tabby mix kitty was just freaking out trying to find them so she could comfort them. It was incredibly cute, but she tends to ignore the tv usually.

My maine coon on the other hand loves watching tv, reacts to the sounds, and tries to chase things on the screen.

Mine saw and watched an article about a white Siberian Tiger playing at the zoo. When they went to comercial he turned to me and meowed. He has also watched Discovery Channel epesodes on cats with interest. But lately he completly ignores modern media.

My chinchillas watch TV with rapt attention. The only time they react is if there's a sudden loud noise, which startles them.

One of my cats watches the printer. If it turns on and she's in the house, no matter where she is, she'll come running, hop on the desk and watch

My dog watches TV on occasion.

I've got a small 13' or something TV ontop of my computer desk I keep on. He comes in sometimes and just looks up and watches whatever's on.

My cat Sasha is afraid when my cell phone rings, and whenever the printer is printing, she feels the need to attack it. She also enjoys watching TV every once in a while.

I played some singing of a nightingale on my computer and my cat stared at the loudspeakers for minutes, sniffing them to find something to catch.

My cat tends to run into my rum and start meowing at me whenever the phone rings, like she thinks I can't hear it without her telling me. :3

My friend's cat likes Tool (the band)...it'll always come running into the room when we play that music. It's hissed at us a couple times after we turned the music off.

My cat watches TV occasionally, especially if I'm watching Discovery/Nat'l Geographic/Animal Planet.

He was hilarious during the Planet Earth series - he kept trying to attack the fish that were on the screen.

Back when I played piano and had a cat, he would listen to me play for hours, and the moment I stopped he would start pawing me while I was sitting in the chair :3... I loved that cat

That is so sweet. When I was younger we had a cat who loved it when my mother whistled this one particular tune. Didn't care about anything else she whistled, just this one tune would cause her to run up to my mother and start rubbing and purring furiously. Not the brightest cat ever, but she was so wonderful.

We tried it out on my current cat - she hissed. This current cat is also mortified by the vacuum cleaner, scares her shitless. And recently just became afraid of storms after we had a particularly close lightning strike.

My corgie usually barks if he is in the other room and a doorbell goes off on the tv. He also does the same thing when the annoying buzzer on the oven goes off.

He's also learned that watching tv can be entertaining :D
