My mom picked up a stray kitten, "Nala", a couple months ago (pic related). She was expectedly skiddish for a couple weeks, but over time she started trusting us a bit more. She grew like 3 times her size really quickly, too.Anyway, getting to the point - recently Nala has been meowing rather loudly and frequently. It's been going on for a couple days, probably not longer than a week. I'll be sitting in my room with my door closed and hear her in the kitchen, alone, meowing again and again. My mom thinks she's just looking for attention. And I'll admit, it looks like she is. When I get out there and pet her, she shuts up.Is there anything else it could mean though? I know crap-all about animals.
Your cat is in heat. AKA, she's extremely horny and needs to get laid.
>>329916Huh. That's... nice.Should I do anything about that?
>>329919I would certainly hope not!BUT, after the heat session is over, (it should last a few days/week) you should get her spayed.
>>329920I see. Thanks for the info!Well, I'm off to bed. Here's a picture of Nala not too long ago.
pretty cat
You can always lightly stimulate her vaginal opening with the soft end of a cotton q-tip. That will buy you half an hour or so of peace and quiet.
>>329931I suggested that to a cat owner once. She unfortunatly refused.
my cat does this all the time, even though she's been spayed since she was a kitten. She normally shuts up after you pet her also, so I think it is just an attention thing sometimes.
>>329923Pardon my possible ignorance, but that cat looks a bit too young to be in heat.Me and my ex. had some kittens and we allowed them to grow much larger than that before we had them spayed. Never exhibited any symptoms of being in heat before that. The cats had each other of course, so they weren't that attention-hungry.
Your cat is an attention whore. Get her spayed before she really goes into heat.
Female cats in heat don't meow as much as scream and rant. Being an attention whore is very different.
young cats are noisy fuckers.
I hear Siamese cats (even mixes) are quite vocal, anyway. As for "being too young to spay," you can spay a kitten at 8 weeks. A 9-week-old pregnant kitten hardly ever gets a happy ending.
Female cats go into heat from, i think it was, about 6 to 8 weeks old (don't quote me on that though lol) But me cats do it all the time, It probably is an attention thing, cats need attention from their owners more than people think
My cat meows when she wants food, attention or to get outside. I'm a complete pushover about it too, always running to do what she wants me to to shut me up.Oh, cats, you manipulative yet annoyingly adorable little bastards.
it's a sign that she's in heat. GET HER SPAYED NOW!!! go CALL YOUR VET AND MAKE AN APPOINTMENT!p.s. and don't ask important advice like that from the pervs at 4chan, get yo ass over to a sensible pet caring forum
It's not a sign that she is in heat, but you should deffo get her spayed
..... She's Siamese, they talk A LOT, just like my male cat who's a half-breed between a Siamese and something else.
OP here. I've let my mom know, so I'm pretty sure Nala is gonna get spayed. Thanks again for the continued insight.
>>330431Is that the face she made when you told her?
