No I don't fucking agree, that's just plain wrong. The same thing does not happen with other animals because the ecosystem has a way of regulating itself; too many wolves eating too many sheep will mean that there won't be enough sheep to feed the wolves, hence less wolves (it's much more complicated than that but you get the concept). We humans accumulate ressources, our intelligence has put us above or beyond this system, which means we'll keep reproducing and infesting the earth.
Hear this, the problem with overpopulation is that no one wants to talk about the solutions: most "liberal democracies" won't be able to implement a forced one-child program because hey, people should have the "liberty" to have as many kids as they want. there's also the economic factor, in a capitalist system there's the need for productivity, hence young people, hence more people (gotta stay competitive). war along with death, is seen today as a heinous act, avoidable at all costs. even diseases, a kind of natural regulating process is being thwarted by our scientific progress.
This has absolutely nothing to do with the topic but I'm bored and have been thinking about these things the past few days... Yeah. I'll probably make a thread about it later on /r9k/
