Duck Anonymous
Okay /an interesting question for you. I was taking a walk by the river when I came upon this duck (sorry about the shitty cameraphone quality). It looked like a mallard only larger and more brown with some green on the tips of its wings. Any idea what this could be?

A *female* mallard, maybe?

Probably just a Hen (Female) with some dominant traits of a male.

Too dark, almost black. Also I'm pretty sure it wasn't a Black Duck since it wasn't stealing my bike.

Did some research and found that there tends to be size and color variation in domestic ducks. So I'm thinking someone is raising an army of huge, mutant mallards. I'll see if I can get a better picture tomorrow. It definitely was NOT a female mallard though.

It could be a mallard with some chromosomal or hormonal abnormality.
