Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone knew cases like this. My neighbor has a Siberian Husky. He is a young male in his 20's.

I know him personally and he's always very nice. He treats his dog extremely well. Wakes up at 4am for the dog, goes on a bike ride, and again at 7pm like clockwork. Feeds him raw food. The dog is so well behaved and kind to everyone.

Every need of the dog is met and exceeded by far. He always talks to me about his vet visits and how they did. I've bumped into him at the vet and everyone's always praising how well trained the dog was and how he's so diligent in their health.

But there is one odd thing I noticed over the last year he's had him. (Dog was a rescue, iirc.) Every once in a while... I'd say once a month or so? I would end up hearing some violent noises and screaming from the dog. It often lasts a span of 5 minutes or so.

I thought maybe it was just an accident happened or something. However two months ago something odd happened. I saw a lot of movement and the screams were timed with the sudden movements.

Last month my husband saw him dragging the dog on leash with his butt planted into the house from the kennel. The dog was obviously afraid ofsomething, and he was obviously pissed.

My husaband went over to see if everything was okay, but he just said there was no problem. The dog just didn't want to leave the backyard.

We also confirmed with one of his family members that he sometimes has an extremely violent temper. There was a case where his brother walked in on him punching the dog. The brother stopped it. He said he lost control because the dog bit him?

I find it unlikely. Since said brother lives with him, I know it can't be happening too frequently. We can hear it when he does it, as well.

So my question is twofold... 355 days of the year, this guy treats his dog like some sort of god. Does everything for him. And maybe 10-12 days a year he will beat the dog for 5 minutes.

Given his treatment of the dog, I have a hard time calling animal control. But I don't think anyone would believe i, because the dog looks and acts so wonderfully.

What could cause a sane, nice, and all-around great guy.. an obvious animal lover that is meticilous in his three cats and one dog, as well as various reptiles care, to lose control like that?

Should we confront him about that? I don't believe he will get violent on us. According to his brother, when he confesesd about it he said he felt like he was "outside of his body" and as during the whole time was wondering why he was doing what he did. He felt horrible afterwards, and it does appear to be true. We've seen him giving his dog a lot of treats afterwards and being very gentle.

I honestly don't think he understands why he loses control like that. And I am not a psychologist... I know either. I'm at loss what to do... because the dog is treated so wonderfully otherwise except for the 50 minutes a year he gets abused.

The dog would be somewhat shy the day after and two days after be back to his normal self. So I'm having a hard time questioning what is the right thing to do. There are many things in life far worse than this guy is doing, and he obviously adores his dog. We know he's never hurt any human in his life, treated his ex-girlfriend wonderfully until they broke up because she moved to another state.

I'm confused about the situation! Any insight?

Schizo or elaborate troll. I'm not sure which.

Er, not sure how this is trolling. No flame wars should start from this... I think? I mean, someone either thinks he's bad and I should call animal control or not. No sense in a flamewar about that.

Fuuuuck, moral debate.
I'll have to think about it.

OP here

Yeah... I know 4chan is not the best place to go but with this kind of moral issue i'd rather have anonymous opinions. too many people, i think, woudl be too quick to say get the animal out of the situation because that "sounds good" on paper.

I'm unsure of the whole thing.

Spoiler: He was a furry, and yiffs occassionally.

huskies are screamers. they'll howl/scream/make their husky noises at a lot of things. he could possibly be clipping the freaking dog's nails once a month for all we know. some dogs hate that and scream bloody murder.

That's not yiff.

OP: The young human male seems to need some kind of help here. I'm not a shrink, but he should possibly see one.

my dog used to do that yelping thing whenever he saw a vacuum cleaner.

We never found out why.

Dogs are fucking annoying some times, that's what. Just like kids.

This is at least a 7.5/10 for effort.

But you went through all of that and no one falls into your trap of wondering if he's having sex with the dog.

Sounds like any man who beats his girlfriend.

HEY, WAIT A MINUTE...

Dogs are mysteriously quiet when you have sex with them. No growls or yelps, just silent bliss :)

Just confront him about it. Talk to him and try to get him to change his ways. There's no reason for the animal to suffer as a result of his own anger problems.

just beat the shit out of him and show him how it feels

I say do nothing. Nobody will be able to help this guy. But at least it's better than getting killed for food or left chained outside 24/7 without shelter and water.

Bakers chocolate. At least three cups. Call police immediately and explain the situation that this man intentionally poisoned his dog.
