Naming kitten Anonymous
/an/ i need your halp. We got this kitten last week, and we were told fairly explicitly it was a she. We find out today at a vet that it's definitely a he.

His old name was Abbey, which makes no goddamn sense for a dude. So, /an/ what's he look like to you?

Indeed, Biscuit is by far the best name for it and it should be immediately named Biscuit.

We had a cat when I was younger my mom thought it was a male, but we found out from the vet it was female. We just left our female cat with the male name. To this day her name is Charles Manson.

Had the reverse happen to me when I was a kid... my brother and I got guinea pigs for one of our birthdays (they're close together) supposedly both female, we named them Sara and Samantha.

When Sam ended up preggers, we figured out Sara wasn't a she. We never changed his name, either.

Good. Male cats are superior.

We thought my cat was a she for ages, but when she went for her first lot of injections the vet shaved her up and found her penis.

We still call her a she, she doesn't seem to mind and it makes her miss her balls a little less. Luckily her name is quite asexual.

Pic related, it's my cat.

Abbey is still an ok name. Some human dudes are named ashley and lauren so yeah....

bu if you wanna go for a great male name, try Cthulu, it works for all animals of the male persuasion

Another vote for Biscuit! It just... suits him somehow.

lol we had a cat, a black one and at first we thought it was a boy, then someone told us it was a girl, so we called her Suki... took her to the vet... "see those golf balls down there?" says the vet...
Still call him Suki and he is one of the best cats ever... and soooo quiet

Leave it named Abbey. It will grow up tougher 'n that Boy Named Sue that Cash sang about so often.

Abbey/Abby/Abbie can be a male name, it's just uncommon. Short for Abner or Abbot, etc.

Abbie Hoffman is the only guy I can think of offhand, but there have been others.

post a picture of the kitten with its tail lifted and we can tell you if its male or female for sure
