i've been thinking of picking up a new kitten lately. my friend just got a good deal on two from the pet shop, so i started thinking about getting two. is it better for a kitten to have a playmate? i figured they'd enjoy being around another cat its age, especially its sibling its been with the whole time. i have a cat already but he'd be totally indifferent to it.

I would say, get it a playmate if you want it to be relatively social as an adult, since cats become very solitary or attach themselves like velcro to one person if they aren't raised with other cats. Its also cute to see kitties sleeping on top of each other, and thats good enough reason to get a couple.

adopt! I hope the pet shop was working with a shelter to adopt out some the millions of animals that end up in shelters every year!

6 - 8 million animals end up in shelters every year.

around HALF of those animals are put to sleep. PLEASE adopt. Sorry for the rant. Just got home from working at my local humane society.

A) Get a shelter kitten, just as good.

B) Get 2, my grandmother only got one kitten, and it is antisocial.
