Does /an/ know anything about keeping the African Elephant as a domestic pet?

I've been doing a lot of reading on it, it's something that's been kind of a dream of mine for a few years. I'm just wondering how feasible it really is though. They're by far my favorite animal, I think they're beautiful and I've heard they're basically the same as having a house Rhinoceros when trained properly.

Pic related, it's a bull African Elephant, the Japanese cousin of our African Elephants

You have to teach it to paint. If it fails it can always get into politics.

Become a zookeeper.

become a zooologist, move to africa, work in a rehabilitation center for orphaned or abandoned elephants.

btw....elephants are incredibly social and intelligent. Most circus elephants have some form of anxiety disorder due to the fact that they are in small spaces, have little to no real play time and the obvious beating from the mahoots.
It's like keeping a human child. Only said human child weighs a few tons and can crush a car. Imagine that taking a temper tantrum because it's bored?

Holy shit those lions are FUCKED

On a slightly related note, I have a friend that insists that the most sensitive part of an elephant is the bottom of their feet, and that something like Caltrops would render them incapable of moving effectively.

I've yet to find any information on this, and actually to the contrary I have found articles stating that the tip of their trunk is actually the most sensitive part of an elephant.

I dunno /an/ what do you think?

Why the fuck would the bottom of their feet be the most senisitve? Is your friend a fucking dipshit? If your feet were walking around on rocks, and other painful shit to walk on your feet would grow a callus on it...saaame idea.

I hope your friend gets impaled by an Elephant's trunk.

Imagine the area in between your toes. The elephant has large thick pads on their feet, between them would be the sensitive part. Wording and common sense, wording and common sense.

However, I am uncertain that it is "most" sensitive. I do know that elephants avoid obsticles (fallen trees, rock outcroppings, fallen branches) like the aids, however.

Actually tactics of the time stated that you should stand in a standard phalanx formation, then break aside as the elephant comes through. You attack them at the top their toenails, because having a pilum stuck there justifiably causes them to freak the fuck out. Or you could be the badass that's job it is to stand in front of a charging elephant and try to whack off it's trunk with a gladius. This also causes the elephant to freak the fuck out. Of course then you have the elephants that had a spiked ball on a chain attached to the ends of their tusks and were trained to use them to great effect....

Most sensitive part of the elephant is their ears, you fools.
