Dear, /an/.

My female dog recently gave birth to 3 puppies. She's a pretty petite dog so it's easy to take care of her.

However, after she gave birth to the puppies, she's been acting very grouchy and also, she's been very protective over her puppies. She won't even let me touch them.

Sometimes I need to fix their bed in their house and bring her food but she won't leave the puppies, so how can I solve this problem?

Thanks.

Pic not of my dog but related.

stay very close to her for 10minutes, do nothing though, then get closer and closer and so on. it takes time, well, that or your dog hates you.

She needs to trust you won't hurt them.
Maybe just sit near her and don't make any move towards her puppies?
If you do that all the time, maybe she'll be cool...

Kind of sad that your dog has no faith in you..

Basically any new canine mother is going to be protective of her puppies. Just let her be a mom. When the puppies get bigger and stronger, she'll let you near them.

You're probably going to just have to let her be a mom.

If you have to get food to her, leave it as close as she'll let you get.

Approach slowly. Back off immediately if she growls or stares threateningly and remain at the distance she won't growl at you. Then, as she lets you, edge closer. Don't come within arms reach of her, no matter what.
