>> Anonymous
is he castrated?
>> Anonymous
stupid Op is stupid get him neutered
>> Anonymous
Learn him. Learn him in the face.

Is it feasible for the cat to be outside for long times? If you leave a window or something open it'll just pop out.

Pee on all of HIS shit. Payback is a bitch.

Try making everything he usually sprays on smell like citrus, or get some feline pheromones.

1. Tie cat to vacuum cleaner.
2. Activate vacuum cleaner.
3. ???
4. Profit!

That cat needs to get neutered. Money is irrelevant. You have 2 choices, ball removal or get rid of him.

or unless they're female, which case it's healthier for the cat to wait till they're about 6 months so their bodies can develop properly

Its too late

Considering how much your un-neutered cat has already sprayed the entire house

you will NEVER get the stench out
it stays FOREVER

since you failed to take in a cat you can't afford to keep well- which constitutes of having them taken for regular vet checkups/vacc/booster, having them fixed, buying them ample food, litter, some toys....
enjoy ur nasty catsprayed clothing & house forever

Well, ASAP = as soon as they are old enough for a vet to say it's okay to do it. Not snipping them when they come out of the bag.

I'm lucky, I've seen my neutered cat spray outside, but he's never done it inside.

here I thought that was how they got such high pitched mew sounds

This poster is correct, I'm afraid. You should have had the cat fixed by now, and even if you do it now, he won't stop spraying. Its over. Find a nice farmer or something to give him to, where he can live outside and catch wild mice and roam free(ish) in the natural state you've left him in.

enjoy throwing out all your clothing, bedding, curtains, furniture, pulling up the carpet too
>> Anonymous
nonsense! there's still hope! you just need a small cork and the desire to squeeze the cat once every 24 hours in you neighbor's yard to get the built up spray out of his system

First of all, I don't think it's “too late” to get him neutered. I highly doubt it is ever too late to stop spraying if you follow these steps:
Secondly, I am certain there are de-sexing clinics which can do it for little money. Thirdly, clean your entire home with diluted bleach and get rid of, as much as possible, the usual things he sprays such as your clothing. Find a better, or different place to put them. Give him two or three kitty litter boxes and clean them daily, including removing the wet patches and cleaning the entire box out every week. If all fails, get a water bottle and spray him (after he has been de-sexed) every time he pees where he shouldn’t. Yes, you’ll need to follow him around all day, or at least lock him into a room with his litter box and you, so you can monitor him. Persevere and talk to the de-sexing clinic about extra advice!

if you can find a /k/ommando, they might be willing to stalk your cat with a tacticool squirt gun waiting for it to prepare to spray

stop getting your cat high

Be more careful about where youput your stuff and make sure he's not upset about something. We have a cat who will pee on bath rugs or piles of dirty laundry, so no more of that here. We also are aware of what makes them upset. Make sure your litter box is always clean, too. Ours won't use a dirty litter box.

those bathrugs with the rubbery backing do have some sort of a chemical that does attract cats to spray or urinate
>> Anonymous
>>98894
probably just mildew building up enough (daily showers make for nice mildew breeding grounds on those rugs) for the cat to think it's some territorial marking point that it needs to cover with it's own scent.

possible but on brand new rubber backed rugs my cat immediately converted it into her 2nd litterbox

OP several places now offer free nuetering/spaying services. Just call your local animal shelter and ask around.

I had a problem like that before, but it ended up my cat loved me so much he pissed on me while I slept and was angry that I went to work and left him alone for so long. I just got another cat and he stopped pissing everywhere. I'd try getting him neutered first before getting another cat though.
>> Anonymous
Has he been declawed? It can really mess them up and they don't like going in the litter box anymore since it's painful to dig after losing their claws.

It's probably just because he hasn't been neutered though, and unfortunately I've heard it as well, once they start spraying, neutering does no good.
>> Anonymous
well, is he already neutered, right?
if not, why !WHY! would any sane person keep an unneutered cat inside a house?! that is just plain STUPID. hurray, its your fault. its too late now, he will stink forever.

if hes already neutered: unhappy cats piss on your things for revenge (thats not territory marking!). (like: my old cat was locked out on the balcony overnight, after I let her in, she went straight to my bed and piss on it.) so find out what your cat hates and change it. that can be a person (your annoying familiy or you), another cat or dog that attacks him, loud noise (eg from the wasching machine next to the cat toilet) or certain smell (eg some cleaner ingredients)... the cat toilet must always be clean, kitty get pissed, if its dirty. and if kitty is pissed... well...... if you dont find out whats wrong, you might as a vet or cat psychologist (not kidding, they exist and know helpful psychology for twisted kitties).
oh, and cuddle him, if he likes it. cuddled cats are happy and happy cats tend to dont piss arond too much.

also, dont leave open boxes, piles of laundry, cushions&blankets, plastic bags, papers, whatever laying on the ground. thats an invitation, so put everthing away. at least for now. he started using such things as a cat toilet, he has to relearn that he has to use his toilet and _only_ his toilet.

and finally: clean the carpet / floor where the pissed on stuff was. clean it. clean it some more. if only a tiny bit of the smell stays, it will attract your cat again and tell him, where his "toilet" was......

he might have a urinary tract infection.
did this suddenly start happening? there may be another cat in the area or in youe neighborhood that he is spraying to mark territory. this could also be if you family has a new member, or if you recently got a new girlfriend, or basically if anything is taking away attention you cat once received from you.
