This kind of cat is too common Anonymous
No matter where I go, I always find this kind of gray stripped cats. You would think people would choose a prettier cat. Not that mine is actually unique, he is just a gray colored cat with weird looking hair.

That, good sir, is not a cat.
It looks more like a ferret, or possibly a weasel.

its called Tabby (cat). And thats a ferret

shutup, I like brown tabbies.

Tabbies are popular because they're friendly and tolerant toward pretty much anything. They're like the labradors of cats.

And the fat ones are fun to squeeze.

So you chose pet by their colour? Let me tell you something:

PETS ARE NO FUCKING FASHION ACCESSORIES.

Sometimes we might choose one simply because they AREN'T unique or special, when it comes to their coat at least.

I'm pretty sure they were just referring to american shorthair tabbies. They do tend to be nicer than most cats.

I have a grey/cream stripped tabby cat and I didn't get her because I wanted a unique looking cat. If I wanted to show off, I'd go and buy an expensive purebred from some breeder. But I didn't get her because of what she looked like. I went to the humane shelter to adopt a cat. When I got there, I immediately saw a tiny female tabby-stripped kitten all alone in its cage, only about 5 weeks old. Her eyes were all gooked over, she had a hard time breathing, and they were giving her hard food that she couldn't eat. When I told the man working there that I wanted her, he told me to pick out a different cat because that one would probably die in about a week. I took her home anyway, took her to the vet, got her medicine, and nursed her back to health. She's five years old now and is healthy and happy. She's a runt, so her nose is really small, but I think that just makes her more adorable.

tl;dr- PETS ARE NOT OBJECTS. You get them to LOVE them, not to flaunt them about like a gucci bag.

Seriously. I don't get people who spend hundreds of bucks on "pretty" pure(in)bred pets. THAT'S NOT WHAT A PET IS FOR. And I don't understand why even the most ardent anti-breeding pet lovers defend it when it's done "correctly" with all the right paperwork or whatever.

Isn't this pic from VGcats ?

Gray/brown tabby coloration is a dominant trait, probably because this is the color that would help them survive in the wild. Likewise, I always feel bad for the tabbies that come into the adoption center at work, because no matter how nice they are, people will ignore them and go straight for the white or calico cat right in the next cage, regardless of behavioral problems.

Whoa, cats can get along with ferrets? I did not know this.

I see where you're coming from. At least most purebred dogs were created to assist humans in some way. Even fucking corgis were a working breed before japanfags fell for them. Purebred cats make me gag....grey/brown tabby is a fine coat color, it looks 'natural' which is why I like it.

My kitty is one of those. She called to me in the shelter. Hardly speaks a word now, but when I walked by she was noisy!

i happen to think classic tabbies are beautiful and mackerel tabbies(striped tabby) are also damn good looking.

of course i also think my cat's the best looking and coolest cat in the world. he's only 7 months old and is huge for his age, weighing in at 9.8lbs. he's a half bengal half DSH mix.
