Dear /an/
I recently got a baby cornsnake and it's already eating healthily (2 pinkies a week) and curiously exploring its surroundings. However, I noticed that after eating it never goes under the heating lamp/pad to digest its meal but always hides in the shade. What should I do? (or should anything be done?)

Check the temps. The warm area should not be higher than 85 degrees F.

Cute! :D But yeah, I'd go with what the second poster said. And if possible, buy a thermometer for the tank.

Thanks for the tip, didn't expect to get productive replies on 4chan.

Although I don't know a good answer I also have a 50 inch corn snake of the same color type as in the picture. It recently laid eggs.

It also just might be scared. Try putting another cave or something nearer the light, not too close or it might turn into an oven.

and if it is too hot and easy solution is to raise the bulb some, or get rid of the heating pad. My corn has done well on one 100watt bulb for seven years.

Good luck and cute snake
