does anyone know anything about giant isopods as pets?

Can they survive surface pressures?
Would light be an irritant due to the depths they live at?
What do they eat besides doritos?

It looks like this guy might own one:

'pods can't live without the pressure.
Giant pillbugs or millipedes are an alternative if you must have one.

Not really, isopods look more like trilobytes moreso than horseshoe crabs.

Those things are cool! I've always wanted a funky pet like those, but all I got are a few trilobyte fossils instead ;p

Actually, isopods can come in with live rock in reef aquariums. you don't want them, they attach themselves to your fish and eat them/suck blood. I've seen one about 5 inches long on a yellow tang in a tank. We pulled the tang out and treated it with copper to kill the isopod.
