Probably not any. Don't get a pet until you're out of the dorm. There's no reason it can't wait.

Don't be ridiculous. Stupidity is a perfectly reasonable excuse to not wait.

jesus christ, why must young people be so fucking stupid? getting a pet while living in a dorm, come on. and they say weed doesn't damage the brain.

fish maybe? goldfish seem to be able to survive anything.

Seriously, a deaf one. There are lots of cats with defect hearing - look for white cats with blue eyes. Many of them are deaf from birth.

Please allow us to worship, Oh Savior of Japan! We bring delicious offerings!

(Also, please wait to get a pet until you are not in a loud dorm. If you must, get a pair of male rats, as they are lazy, friendly, and fairly easy to take care of. Do some research online, first)

We weren't allowed anything bigger than a hamster or a 10 gallon fishtank in our dorm.
And don't think of trying to sneak something like a cat or a dog. When surprise dorm inspections come you're fucked.

what about reptiles?
still have to be hamster size or smaller?

Snakes are deaf and can be kept in relatively small spaces. They can "hear" loud bass-y noises though their jaw, but mine never seemed to care much.

But yeah, wait until you have an actual place to live.

many reptiles have very, very sensitive ears, so your plan sucks

I recommend picking up a really, really old cat from a shelter. It needs the stimulation.

The other day I was testing out some ear plugs before I went to a concert with them. I played some music on my speakers in my room insanely loud. This are gigantic Bose speakers. They are awesome.
I thought to throw the cat out of my room first, of course. In other parts of the house it wasn't so bad.
But my cats absolutely love my room and are hard to throw out. I threw them out, turned on the music, and he came back in. He got on my bed and went to sleep.
The windows were fucking shaking and the cat just slept. I tried to throw him out but he just kept coming back in! I had to have the door open BTW, if that matters.
He's not deaf, he's just very stupid :D

so fish would be a great pet while living in a loud dorm? what fish would be fun for a beginner fish owner?

bats have really poor hearing. mainly they rely on their eyesight for hunting during the day. you should look into getting one of them as a pet. they are also rabies resistant so if you can find a cave you could probably just go in and catch a couple yourself. maybe your friends would like one as well?
