Depends, really. Ask your vet the reason why he charges so much more than the county vet when the operation is the same thing.. Ask what the differences are between him and the county vet. I've always used the county vet for my cats. They've done excellent jobs on them. Personally, I'd go with the County, but you need to find out details. Even the vets around here don't have such a huge difference in price.
Example, when I get my cat neutered, at the county, it'll be about $40, anywhere else about $50 or 60, not a big difference.
