Sup /an/,

Just found this in my back yard. Can anyone identify it (beyond just saying it's a frog/toad...)

What do they eat? Can I keep it? ;o

I'm going to go buy a container for it. What else should I put in the container other than crickets?

they'll eat anything that crawls, insects, snails, worms, spiders, flies, etc.
I wouldn't keep it though, wild animals should be put in the wild.
Get a domesticated pet if you want.

Fuck you PETA fag. Toads make kickass pets. From the looks of it, you're going to want at least a 10 gallon aquarium. Cut out some turf from your yard with proper measurements according to the aquarium. put some sticks and shelters and stuff in it too. Crickets and mealworms with the occasional waxworm is a good diet for most reptiles/ amphibians.

Where are you from? Theres a 1/1,000,000 chance of IDing if you don't know where its from.

From the top pic it looks like a Gulf Coast Toad. They are common as dirt in Texas, Lousiana, etc.... I'm guessing you got it from a state in the US bordering the Gulf of Mexico, or at least somewhere near there?

They eat insects, worms, grubs, and pretty much anything else that is smaller than their head. They are nocturnal and need a damp enviornment and places to hide.

Yeah, I'm located in north Texas.

Thanks for the info, decided to just release it where I found it though. I probably would have killed it eventually, lol.
