Hey /an/.
I purchased a carpet python on Saturday..
My first python, but not my first snake. I have owned corns and kings for years.
She bit me today. I was shocked because I have NEVER been bitten by any of my snakes before. And although she is small, she drew blood. My corns have struck at me when they were babies, but they never actually bit..and they grew out of it quickly.
My question is this, do pythons become less aggressive with age and frequent handling?

Depends on the species more than anything. They range from pussy cat to ones that bite you more often than not. The more arboreal the more high strung they can be, that is kinda a gneral rule with all snakes. I'm sure it will calm down more, but snakes are not kittens, and you always have to be ready to get bitten, depends on the individual...I've had carpets and bloods I'd trust with a child, and I've had some that wanted to kill me every time they saw me

Handle it often and it should stop biting so much. Worked with my Carpet.
