Please, for the love of god, tell me that someone else here is addicted to this drivel.

I get the new releases as soon as they come out, and I feel like such a douche for it. Why are these books so goddamn addictive? I don't even really like cats that much, and it's not like these things are going to win a pulitzer anytime soon.

That series would be particularly awesome if Fishing Cat was like their messiah figure or something.

I find it terribly hard to read. The vocabulary is too repetitive for it to be enjoyable. I couldn't get through more than three chapters before having to put it down.

I do, however, enjoy the cover artwork.

There are so many goddamn typos in the books but I love them so much.
The newest one is currently being shipped to my house, actually.

I've not heard of this series, but I can offer an explanation: mental popcorn.

That's what the books are. Not particularly good for you, utterly no mental nutrition, can be downright unhealthy for you in certain cases. But sometimes, after a stressful time or after you've finished a much worthier, weightier novel your mind feels the need for a little junk food. Hence, a popcorn book.

I wouldn't worry about it OP. Everyone has something silly they like to do to relax, on occasion, even if they won't admit to it. If you're bothered by what people would say, then by all means keep it to yourself. But don't feel bothered by it. There are much, much worse things you could be doing to relax.

I dunno what the fuck that book is, but if you like books about cats and shit read Tailchaser's Song by Tad Williams.
