/an/ I'm almost positive my cat is pregnant and due at the end of the month.

What should I do to help her in terms of food, a place for her to give birth, etc?

Also, I have another cat who is about 3 years old now. Will she bother the kittens at all?

...seriously? Are you asking us what to do with the cat?

FALCON PUNCH!!!!!

Just get an old cardboard box. Put some blankets in it, and encourage your cat to sleep there. It helps if you keep the flaps mostly covering entrance, and if the box itself is in a dark place like a closet or such. Somewhere out of the way where your cat will feel she's secluded.

Cat pregnancy is easy to tell. If she's gained a massive girth of her stomach in several weeks, she's preggers. Cat gestation period is 3 months, and they don't really start to show until getting into the second month. At that point it's unmistakable. Within a week or so after that, you can soemtimes feel babies moving.

If any of them are stillborn, take a damp cloth and gently clean their faces free of any afterbirth, and then take a towl and carefully rub the baby. Sometimes you can revive it.

Both of you are certified retards who shouldn't be in /an/, and so is the OP.

It's a motherfucking cat. If you're going to let the cat fuck around outside, FUCKING SPAY IT. Millions of kittens die each year in shelters, we don't need more shit like this, it's irresponsible to get your cat pregnant and then going "lol i dunno what", etc etc etc.

Having said that, OP, this is the only site you need for your needs:
http://www.cat-world.com.au/PregnancyInCats.htm

make sure not to use new fabric you're planning to use again - you don't want to have to clean out cat blood and afterbirth off it.

Also, if any of your kittens smell like death, or the mother rejects it, the kitten is going to die. Even very experienced vets have a hard time raising newborns. Since this is probably your cat's first pregnancy, you're expecting about 3-5 kittens, out of which up to 2 may die. You'll know if a kitten is being rejected if the mother keeps taking it out of the box. Be responsible, just euthanise it. http://www.alysion.org/euthanasia/ gives you the instructions.

One warning: once your cat's given birth, don't you ever let the slut out of your fucking door again till you send her off to the vets: cats go into heat again straight after giving birth, and can get knocked up again.

Help the fucking OP out, for fucks sake. OP, I will give you advice, but you've gotta spay that cat after she's given birth. Fuckin promise.

In terms of food, try and give her vitamin enriched premium cat chow; half can of wet, and a bowl of dry a day. I doubt she will eat all the dry, but it's a measurement.

as a place for giving birth; ultimately she will choose, however you can get a LARGE cardboard box that's high enough so the kittens cannot wander, but low enough that she herself can get out. She may or may not use it, as cats can be fickle and use a clothes drawer over the box.

Line said box with towels, lots, and lots of towels. Keep another stack of towels on standby, for when she gives birth, it will be messy and you will want to change the towels when she's done so her and the kittens are not lying in after birth (which there will be alot of, and the mother sometimes eats it)

You can also put a heating pad a couple of layers under the blankets so the mother and the kittens will stay warm, but will not be too hot (also, make sure the wire is covered with duct tape going all the way down)

Provide a water bowl and a food bowl for the mother when she is giving birth; put it outside the box ESPECIALLY If you have the heating pad.

During birth, make sure you watch her in case complications arise. I've found that sometimes the kittens are still encased in their embiotic sacks after birth, and you will have to tear them open so the kitten can breathe. Most of the time the mothers can chew it open, but it's hard for them when they're in the middle of birthing.

Last but not least, have the litter box close by (but not closer than 10 feet). (continued..)

continuing...

As for your other cat, it's hard to tell to be honest. Sometimes cats welcome the kittens, sometimes they will loathe them. It would be best to introduce your other cat to the kittens shortly after birth (with you, of course holding the cat).

Let it sniff the air, be curious. When the kittens open their eyes, introduce the other cat again. this time, carefully letting her go under supervision. If there's any sign of aggression, promptly move the cat away and try again in a few days.

That's all i'm going to say. Get that cat FIXED!!!

Give her some fresh, vitamin rich food like raw chopped liver or hearts, ground beef, and egg yolks mixed in with some milk every couple days. These things are pretty cheap and the kittens will be very healthy and disease resistant for it. Cat food is kind of like McDonalds in comparison and the special kinds are expensive.

OP here. Thanks everyone this was helpful.

I'd been reading online what to do but I was confused and just a little scared/worried for when the time comes.

I have had this cat for 8 years and she has been an indoor cat her whole life. I go away to college, my dad gets irresponsible, and she slips outside while she's in heat ONCE. So don't assume I'm some irresponsible fag just because of this one accident.

Forgot to say that after this is done, I will personally see to it that she gets fixed before I go back to school again. We couldn't afford it before, but I have some money in savings now that I'll use.

Many cities have low cost spay and neuter clinics, you may want to check you if your city has one.
