hey an/
this is my dog, he is at the hospital right now, and I m sad about him :/
monday, a yorshire got hit by a car in front of my house (I saw it bent on the pavement by the windows), I thought it was my dog, but actually my dog was with him and saw him die, I got out of my house and saw my dog just in front of my house...
I was sad for the other dog but happy for mine,
now since monday Rox (my dog started acting strange ; usually he likes to run away when he can go check out the other dogs of the streets, but this day he remains quiet and didn't eat anything, I tought he was kinda traumatised because of the accident, even if it surprised me... when I took him out he didn't want to move far, he satyed in front of the hosue where the dog died...
next day he didn't eat anything neither and didn't want to go out, he seemed like he couldn't walk properly too, so we took him to the doctor, he said he couldn't say what it was and we had to wait for the blood test.
next day (wednesday) we took him back to the doctor and he said he has an infection of the kidney ...and that it is critical, animals mostly die with that ; probably got it if he drinks water where mice piss.. :(

no we are thursday and he is still in hospital, he will probably have to dia.. and he must feel alone :'(

I ve always prefered cats to dogs, had many cats , and many cats died, but I feel really sad for this dog because he was really really nice and smart, really smart!
shit , that s an emo post, not the kind of thing I post but well ...

SEE YOU , ROX!

nobody cares, but I went to see him today, he looks fine, expet that he is really quiet and dont move a lot, he also has a big tummy because he can't piss...
now there is almost no chance that his kidneys starts to work again..
I wondering, should I take him back home and let him die, or should I let him at the clinic alone, spending his last day in a cage before he gets the deadly injection? ...
this is depressing me, letting him alone while those are proably his last days.. he was only 9 years old.

i care for you!and yr little dog.my dad had a yorkie and they are sprightly little buggers.i am not a dog person, but i know how hard it is to watch a pet die, its one of the worst things u can go through.if i was you,id let him rest calmly in the cage, and be with him when the time comes to say goodbye.if you cant watch the shot give him a kiss and let the vet do the job.sorry dude :(

Does the concept of a dead dog make peoples brains work the dumb? This thread sucks for the spelling and grammar things.

Anyway.. Sorry about your dog. Can't they like..give him a catheter or something, to give him a few more days or at least some comfort? Bring him home for a night, if you can, and give him so much love he'll get diabeetus. Then you can bring him back to the vet and give him a peaceful death.

I had a dog that I loved very much, and his brain just kinda.. went wonky one day, and he bit me pretty bad.He had to be put to sleep. Not a day goes by that I don't think about him, and wish I'd been able to give him one last hug. Every time I look in a mirror I see the result of our last hug, and it hurts.

The death of a loved one is something you never really get over, but you have to move on anyway. I'd say "my goondolences" or "sorry /b/rother", but /an/ doesn't really have a name for it's posters.

sorry for spelling and grammar mistakes ; I'm french (france not canada) and I didn't read my post twice, so yeah it's probaly full of mistakes...
but well, thank you guys, I think I ll try to get him back for a last night at home and do what you said.
thanks for the cheers :'|

If you're having him put down, vets usually allow the owner to be with the animal as they give him the injection. Ask your vet if you can stay in the room with him, that way you can give him plenty of love before he goes.

I can sympathize.. Our german shepherd passed away due to kidney failure, it was horrible watching her fade away. Eventually it got to the point where she ate very little.. and as much as we loved her we knew it was time.

Make sure to give your dog lots of love, and as hard as it is being with them in the final moments is for the best. We've known our vet a long time, and he was kind enough to make the trip to our house to put her down under her favorite tree.

Man I miss her.. Just be sure to give him a last hug, you'll regret it if you don't. Take care.

This appears to be the infection you're describing.

...did you rape your dog dude?

No, why do people always ask that? There is love that isn't sexual, you know.

I adopted him in a last ditch effort to keep from committing suicide. He became the sole reason I'm alive. Originally, I adopted him to give me a purpose, so I would want to live, but it turned out we matched so well together. He got me to leave the house (I had severe agoraphobia, and litterally did not leave my property for over a year) and go and make friends with people. I started going to school, so I could get a normal job and provide for him. He protected me from everything I thought was bad, and all I had to do in return was feed him and scratch his ears. I have never felt such a pure and honest love. And no, he wasn't my first dog, nor my last, I know what "puppy love" is and this wasn't it.

Thanks for making me depressed again, asshole.

Hi there. Been posting here and reading your posts for a while. You seem to know what sort of things are sometimes said here - why are you personally upset by immaturity? Sure it was targeted, but also senseless and beneath you, no?
Anyway, I’m sorry to hear about what happened; the attack sure was strange though. I know there is no point in what-ifs, but are you certain this was not a once-off attack? I am sure you know that intelligent animals have their own lives, traits, developed character, genetics and past experiences that guide their emotions and actions. A previously abused dog, like a human will react differently to certain (subtle) events, for example. I doubt you took the decision likely, but was there not another way?

Obviously this anon has nothing better to do than to make a jackass of himself by revealing his inner desire to rape puppies.

Anyways...

I sympathise with you, my dog recently passed away as well. The mother is still alive, and she's my baby. But, he was as well, his name was Moe. Biggest dog I've ever had at 130 pounds, but he was a big baby.

He'd sleep in my lap and by my bed. He started acting strange, and by the time we got him to the vet, we found out it was cancer and he passed away the next day in some trees. I cried for days, and I still do.

But it's the memories of him and how dumb he was and how sweet he was that make me smile still.

Like how he periodically ran into the sliding glass door, and how he ran into and broke the screen door off the hinges then dragged it down the stairs behind him.... >.<

Shit, I would be agoraphobic too if the sun peeled th flesh from my bones. Your dog actually bit you hard enough to leave a scar?

I'll never forget when my dog of 17 years was put to sleep, either, but my mom took him to the vet's to do it. Now I'm depressed too.

I adopted him as a 2yr old intact male from the local pound. He was extremely agressive twoards black men (he was great around kids, and loved our black neighbor's daughter.. but not her father), and utterly hated brooms and cardboard boxes. So yea, he had been abused, and I suppose he had some kind of PTSD. He'd bitten a few other times: Once when my grandma was mowing the lawn, once when she was sweeping, and was violently protective (some would say possessive)of me. One day I went to give him a hug.. and he freaked out and bit me across the cheek. After that, he was violent twoards everyone, growling constantly and even nipping at me. A week later, my uncle took him to the vet to be put to sleep while I was at work. I knew it had to happen, because he wasn't safe to be around, but it still really hurt.

Also, insulting people is kinda my thing. I'm not really offended by the things people say/post here, and I like to think making fun of them helps others also be less offended by it. Growing a thick skin and all that.

I got agoraphobic just after the diagnosis.. but the sun doesn't hurt me THAT bad. A few hours in the sun leaves blisters, but I can work indoors and go to the zoo or a park or something (if I wear longsleeve shirts, rest frequently because of arthritis, and douse the rest of my skin in spf 100 sunblock).

But yes, he left an inch long scar on my face. It's hardly noticeable because of the redness from teh lupus, but I know its there.

Now we need a therapist /an/on to post and comfort us.

(Anyone else get "Flood detected" whenever they try to post?)

Yeaaah so there was some issue, where my attempts to post all posted at once, and like nine other threads updated and.. Silly /an/, burping like that.

So, here's the dog I'd posted about.

woah bitter anon , that s a sad , story I feel sad for you, but yeah it was probably unsafe to be with your dog at home, you couldn't do anything about it, and i'm sure it s really hard but you dont have to blame yourself or anyone.

I'm the OP of this thread and just went to see my dog today, when I took him out of the cage he reacted like he was feeling a little better, he s not eating anything, and the vet told me he has to give him "dioretic" for a 100 Kilo dogs, and that means his kidney are pretty bad.
but then I took him outisde and he pissed, the doctor said he barely piss and there are almost no chance that his kidney starts to work again.
but he pissed ! so I m keeping a little hope, I dont know if it s right to hope, I could be deceived ; but well , I know he is tough even if he s a yorkshire.
doctor also said that usually dogs die in 5 days of this infection, and it's been 6 days that he is there...
it would be miraculous that he survive but let's hope.

my cat died of kidney failure just last night; i went the other route and didn't have him stay at the vet because the prognosis was so poor. that way at least he went at home and comfortable.

.. good luck, OP.
