As for the lazy one, his inactivity is probably caused by the temperature. Check your thermostat, if it's below something like 70-73, you might want to warm it up a bit. Hermit crabs are tropical animals, remember. Their ideal temperature is somewhere between 75-85. Another thing to remember is the water issue. Make sure that they have a container of water with a small sponge dipped in it, and you should spray them with a spray bottle daily (the crab itself, not just the shell) to keep their gills wet.
