Dumpy/White's Tree Frogs? Linestra
Anyone have any experience with dumpy tree frogs? (also known as White's tree frog.)

I recently saw some at the local pet store, but they didn't seem to know much about them.

There are lots of care guides out there for them. I was researching them as a potential pet a few months ago. They're pretty good beginner frogs.

Also, don't ever trust what a pet store employee tells you about any animal. Always do your own research.

They're fat, lazy, and don't mind being handled. Care requirements are minimal, especially for amphibians (temp a little higher than room temp, with some humidity). These guys are awesome starter frogs and one of the few that are handleable enough to be an enjoyable pet.

PS, OP, see that fold around where an ear should be? This is the frog's supratympanic ridges. You should keep an eye on them. This is where the frog stores fat. White's get overweight easily, you want to make sure the fat doesn't fold over too much (your picture seems sort of borderline). If, at the pet store, the ridges are non-existent or way overlapped, they're either underfeeding or overfeeding.

Feed every day or every three days, and only what they'll eat in a few minutes.

Thanks /an/. Look out for a 'name my frog' thread in the next few weeks.
