This. They're feral, so it'll take a while, but kittens are always reluctant to get used to new people. Mine hid from me, but now he's always at my feet.

Seconding. We got a feral stray from a pumpkin farm who hid behind our bookshelves for about three days before he decided we might be OK.
Keep feeding them, stay low to the floor when possible (but don't make any effort to get near them- just be accessible if they're curious) and try not to look like a gigantic thing that wants to eat them and they'll come around.

I've cared for feral cats and kittens while working at the shelter, and the best thing you can do is just be around.

Don't force your presence, make sure they see you putting food down, talk calmly to them, and don't stand over them. Eventually, they should come around.

Also, just holding them and petting them while talking calmly will help. Only do this once in a while...They will hiss and growl, but it will show you that you are nice.

The cats have an aversion to people so all you need to do is get in their face and overwhelm them with your presence. At first they will be very anxious but the animal can't sustain anxiety forever. After they realize nothing bad is happening, they'll be calm and start to associate their previous anxiety to a calm sensation.
