Ok.

My dog's back-left leg has been limping for a few days now, and my mother's just informed me that she's been doing this on and off for a couple years. (I just moved back home, haven't been around to witness it)
She's half husky, half golden lab and about 5 years old.
I looked up some probably causes, and it could be a NUMBER of issues, the most probable ones leading to surgery. I heard my mom say something about euthanization the other day, and it made me rage/worry.

Can't afford a vet right now.
What's /an/on's suggestions? ;_;

Give her some regular baby asprin until you can afford to take her.

Call the vet and ask what this could be. Calling a vet doesn't mean that you have to take an appointment, but they can give you some good advice.

It would be a shame to kill your dog if the leg-thing is curable.

Could be a nerve problem. My friend's GSD had a nerve problem, and he was eventually dragging his leg into a bloody stump and we couldn't do anything over it. Had to put him down. ;_;

You shouldn't have to put down your dog just because of a little limp. Unless it's in pain and yelps it could be as simple as arthritis.

You can afford to take your dog to the vet, you just don't want to make it a priority. They have payment plans. Make some sacrifices and follow-through with the commitment you made when you decided to get a dog.

could be hip dysplasia. bigger dogs get it often, it's not unheard of in medium sized dogs. it causes them great pain, and people that can't afford the surgery often control it with anti-inflammatories like rimadyl. take your dog to the vet.

It could just be that your dog runs so hard when he plays that he chronically hurts one of his legs. Obviously, if the dog is on a fairly regular walking schedule, shit like this doesn't get time to properly heal like it would for a human.

My dog does this all the time.
