almost anything can be a pet in america if you get licenses and stuff.

reddish pandas, strawberries, money, etc.

I think they're endangered, so...probably not. Not saying it's impossible...but very improbable I would imagine.

Would be easier to obtain a coati, raccoon, or primate. Good luck blowing your money.

yeah just go for a raccoon or something. or a coati. i've seen both as pets, though i don't know if you need permits for it. you could even dye the raccoon red and name it firefox. and force it to eat bamboo. in fact, that's probably the main problem even if you could get the permits. unless you have a lot of cash to burn, you'll have trouble getting enough bamboo for a red panda.

I saw a documentary about a zoo with a red panda. And the bamboo was extremely expensive, costing probably hundreds per month. Then they built their own greenhouse to get their own bamboo, but that was also quite difficult.

If you want to go for a raccoon, the two most important things are: Get two or three of them and spay them at the age of five or six months. Oh, and like any wild animal they will wreck your home when you don't have an enclosure.
