It's currently a lovely 38°C here. What can I do to keep small mammals cool besides turning up the A/C?

Get those freezer cold packs and put them in a plastic bag or something before putting them near the cage so it doesn't get water everywhere while it thaws.

I used to freeze bottles of water and keep them in my rats' cage.

I put them in the freezer, its good cuz they're small enough to fit and I don't need to keep the doors open unlike for humans.

Anything that doesn't create a cold draft. Small pets can get nasty colds.

+1 for freezing water bottles; keep more than one in the freezer so you can switch back and forth

what you need is a deep freezer. You can keep a whole... deer.. in there.

Yea, global warming makes it hard for the deer. Be a pall and put one in your freezer for a few hours, it'll help conserve wildlife.
