Dear /an/ what kinda kitteh is this fellow?
I named him Roastbeef.
He jumped into our apartment lastn ight via our bathroom window, and we got him checked out today. All clean, and we have him setup in the living room. He is enjoying his new home.

He's Sheer black with white paws, bib, belly and a little on his nose.

wow, that's one way to get a cat, have it ninja it's way into your life.

I figured he was going to fuck shit up, or be gone by morning.
He came in around 2:30-3:00am. Hopped onto my chest and pawed at me.
I got up, gave him some water and popped open a can of tuna for him, and went back to bed.

I wake up and he's chilling on the couch.

Was his fur rough/dirty? Or smooth?

He could have belonged to someone?

>>181737

The collar on him I put on myself, it's a 3-in-1 flea/tick, etc. He was clean, didn't smell bad and his fur was smooth and and very clean. nice sheen on his coat.
The most noticeable thing about him is his attitude. He's well mannered and will let you scratch and rub his tummy. Of the cats I've played with and the two that I've owned, none have let me do that.

He just uncurls and enjoys it.

We let him out for about an hour and a half earlier, and he wandered around but came back.

I'm jealous, OP.

>>181741

If he chooses to leave, I'll be pretty sad.
He's so charismatic, moving from one of us to another. He hasn't jumped up onto any of the tables or counters unless we've provoked him, and hasn't gotten into anyone's food if they'd left it unattended for a few minutes.

I hope he stays.

When I get paid, I'll take him tot he vet again and have him fixed if he already isnt

OP here,

He's currently playing with a cat toy one of my roomates went out an got him.

The other cats I had were as a child, and they were more my parent's responsibility than my own.

Ahy do's, dont's, or protips for this little beast?

I'd like to keep him well fed, but not spoil him. enough toys, get him a scratching post, maybe one of those little play areas.

Any and all input is appreciated.

roastbeef apparently doesn't like it's children, it has chosen a new home. Respect the cat's choice.

Please get that nasty ass tick collar off of him and use Revolution or something similar.

>>181753
oh you're right, OP should have gotten him nothing at all.

To op, pretty kitteh!
>> kman
awesome cat, dont forget cats usually hahahaha, like cheat on you, there used to be this cat who came to my house every other day, i fed him, etc. and then i found out he had an actual owner and wasnt a stray, hahaha, damn whore, hahaha
>> Anonymous
>>181961
Actually>>181753is right. Flea/tick collars are nasty and generally not good for cats. Revolution is totally the way to go since it takes care of multiple things all in one fell swoop.
OP has asked for advice on kitty care and letting them know flea collars aren't good for cats is good advice

PS. OP's kitty is indeed cute. He definately looks like a tuxedo domestic shorthair!
>> Anonymous
>>181966
So, are Tuxedos a specific breed or just a color pattern?

I've got this really weird one and was just wondering...

>>181750
Fuck you , Morons.

To OP , Don't be a douchebag. Try to find the potential owners.
>> Anonymous
The cat is most likely a mix, so it is simply a domestic short-hair. Tuxedo is a coat pattern, not a breed.
>> Anonymous
Sounds like someone else's cat. I suggest you throw it out the window from whence it came.

OP here.

Pasted the original post's picture with a short description of the cat.
Phone number was included, etc etc.
Tossed em' up at the local Carvel, SafeWay and maybe 20-odd power line poles in the immediate area.
If they want it back, they can have him back.
He seems pretty darn content here, though.

OP here, in the morning I'll go grab some.
Like I said , the collar was just a quick fix as the local grocer had a limited choice in terms of anything pet related, and traffic was so damn horrendous all weekend I didn't get to the petstore across town.

Good to hear you posted a lost folder, 'tis important.. if you still have it in a couple days maybe CList it or post a good pic of it at a humane society

OP here, Beautiful Cat.

So far nothing, and Roastbeef is enjoying his time here.
Are Cats trainable?

I've got some smoked salmon in the fridge and thought he'd like ti as a reward.

also, what are the dangers of feeding cats tuna or things like that? Canned tuna, i mean to say.

He's given me no complaints about the Dry food with the gay guy on the bag, but i think wet food now and then wouldn't be a bad idea.
>> The Archaeologist !!PNcLmJSf/RY
I'd put up a few more posters to be safe. It's just too convenient that a clean cat that's well mannered would Ninja his way into your life.

Remember, people aren't smart, so you'd need to carpet bomb before the owners might find him, unless they went straight to the local humane society.

It's bastards like you...

We have a cat at home that doesn't come home for several days. When he does come back, he smells like freshly fried bacon.

There's someone out there going "where the hell is that fucking cat?" looking for their playful well mannered pet.

You're right, It's Op's fault your cat does that.

God forbid someone feed and shelter an animal. He should have just tossed the fucker right back outside and have been done with it.
>> Anonymous
>>182433

OP Here, don't be a Dick.

>>182369
It is not my responsibility to the owners to seek them out and do their job them, my responsibility is to continue to feed and nurture the cat after allowing it in my home, to place the fliers that I already have and to keep it safe and warm. I will continue to do both, fliers and take care of the animal, but don't sit there and post about my being a bastard or anything else because you're sore that your cat wanders off, It's certainly not my fault.

Now that you mention, I'll bring some fliers to the Local shelter and see if they'll let me post on if there's a bulletin board available for a purpose such as this. Thanks for the good idea.

Again, my rear sliding door is always open, as is my bathroom.
He can leave on his own accord, whether we're all home or not. The first day he was here (read:the morning of) I let him him out and he stayed around outside for a good hour and a half, and he just stayed within close proximity and wanted back in.
