So I was looking at unusual things people owned as pets and I found breeders for things like wallabies, serval cats and other weird animals.

So I'm wondering, has anyone here had a weird pet?

The weirdest(not that odd) pet I ever owned was a hedgehog, she died of fucking wobbly hedgehog syndrome though.

its not rare.
but it sure is odd and weird.
Love them though

I've always wanted a hedgehog, but you can't get them where I live :(

Really? Is it due to local regulations or you're just not able to find a breeder?

I had a pet vinegaroon when I was a kid. Caught him under my front porch and put him in a cage that later housed my tarantula that I also caught on the porch.

Im not sure to be honest.
There's none of them in pet-stores or ads in buy & sell newspapers.
I also read someone proposing to allow the import of pet hedgehogs, so they probably aren't legal either.

>wobbly hedgehog syndrome

That is the most adorable sounding syndrome I've ever heard of... How tragic.

I know. If MS was known as "Wobbly People Syndrome" it wouldn't sound half bad.

I had a pet vole named Digger when I was a kid,
he was really sweet.
my mom and I went out fishing one day at our favorite spot. when we got there a water snake of some sort had raided a little vole colony by the river. I found Digger as a little naked baby in the mud, so we took him home and hand raised him. he was the best rodent pet I ever had. then one year I went on a trip to California with my parents and my brother let Digger pile up his litter against his water bottle so all the water drained out and my brother didn't check him so Digger died of dehydration. worst day of my childhood, never forgave my brother.

oh yeah, and just to show the size of a full grown vole the one in the picture is holding a pine seed. now imagine how tiny they are when they are babys! like the size of your thumb nail!

Not that weird, but we had pet ducks when I was a kid. Ducks are fucking great pets, so much character, and intelligent, considering they must have a brain about the size of a grape.
They had a pond and a little house in the back garden.

I love ducks. I don't see how anyone can eat them.

i had a fox that we found as a little tiny kit. we raised it like a dog and it was cool as hell till the neighbors called animal control and shot her on us.
