I've never really gotten a clear answer as to how many treats it's ok to give to my rats each day, all I've heard is "just give them a little each day".

So I've been giving them, at most, 4 teddy grahams each day, along with a few pumpkin seeds and then their veggie snacks. Is that too much?

Don't give me the "OH GOD THAT'S TOO MUCH YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT TAKING CARE OF THEM" stuff, every place I've gone to and every person I've asked is vague as fuck about it.

Teddy grahams are a pretty shit/too sugary treat. Make a little pasta for them, bread, rice, vegetables, fruits, healthy cereals, oatmeal, spinach, little bits of cheese, cooked chicken, etc.

You don't have to give them treats every day. They enjoy non sugary things just as much, especially if they have variety. They're like little humans with regards to diet. Compare the size of their head with a teddy graham, then try to imagine just how many teddy grahams you would have to eat as a human to compare. It is WAY too much.

Compare the rate at which your metabolism burns compared to a rat's then consider how much exercise YOU would be doing...

Four seems like it'd be right at the verge of "okay, that's enough." Considering the lifespan of a rat, however, I don't think you're going to be really doing anything detrimental to their health in the grand scheme of things. Maybe you could cut it down to like.. one Teddy Graham and a treat made especially for rats.
