Hey guys, after discussing how some scorpions can luminess under a UV light, my friend said that there are some types of animals that do have vision in the UV spectrum? Is this true? What animals?Pic related.
If you can find genetically altered hairless rats, yes.
bees can see UV light.Flowers emit UV signals for them.Snakes can see Infrared. Heatseeking.
So it's only bees?Anyone else have other comments?
these do.
Most insects that sport compound eyes like bees have similar vision range. Somewhat in the range of light visible to us, and some higher frequency, UV range.
i think horse-shoe crabs have UV vision (among the 7 or so other types of vision they have).
