Hey /an/, I want to have my dog run with me when I'm on my bike, but she keeps running in FRONT of the bike. She's still a puppy, but she can run my 45 minutes without much problem.

How do I get her to stop running infront of me? She's already done it once when I was going slow (To see how she would do), and now whenever I try she'll still try and cross the bike.

Heel doesn't seem to be working and I can't fixup or buy a rig like that in the pic because I can only use my brother's bike twice a week when he's here for a short while.

Just run over her a couple of times. She'll get the message soon enough. Also, invest in a helmet and pads. It'll be a little tough going for you, too.

Dogs can't run beside bicycles! This image is obviously a shoop.

prolly shouldn't exercise your dog too excessively while its still developing.
he probably runs around everywhere like that because you allow him to run around everywhere when you're walking him on a leash.

If I don't let her notice me she chases around leaves all day long. She has lots of energy and I know when she's getting tired, but she can take my bike rides I think.

That's why I want to try starting her out for a few runs, but I don't want to run over her! Any ideas?

Like I said, rigs will be hard to get or make because of my bike status.

sounds like she's trying to herd you. what kinda dog is it? you could get that thing in your photo there.

Labrador Retriever.

I already thought about the herding thing, but she's a fetching dog, not a cattle dog.

I can also confuse her by running her into her and she tends to run close enough so that if I don't jump in a second we'll collide (I've never collided yet, I don't let her get that close)

Use your foot to gently push him away.

But I would not run a dog on a bike until about 1 years old (or almost done developing).

I ride both of my dogs with them on front though.

I think I'm gonna attach a laser pointer to her neck and see how she follows that around.

I know those already exist, I'm just extremely ghetto

Just teach her the command 'heal'.
Ditch the bike for a while, and just walk her. When she's learnt that 'heal' means 'walk beside you' and does it without you having to drag her into position, try the command out on the bike.
