As for owning sharks, I can't say for sure if it's legal or not, though I'd assume you'd have to get through a lot of red tape to aquire one.
There is a chain of fish stores called "Big Al's" that all have a huge shark tank in them. The one near my place has a price tag on the actual tank they hold them in. It's $18,000. So yeah, look em up and if there's one near you, go and ask 'em about it.
Now this is all assuming you want a cool shark. Owning those dinky little marine sharks you see for sale every once in a while is legal of course.
