FFS nubz, it's from the BBC's documentary Walking With Dinosaurs, and it's posted here about as often as the fucking giant isopod.

Actually it's from Chased By Sea Monsters, a sequel of sorts to Walking With Dinosaurs and Walking With Beasts.

To add to this, it's an animatronic prop of a 400-something million year old sea scorpion called Megalograptus. Not a shop, just a robot puppet.

Here's another pic of the eurypterid or sea scorpion. Apparently they were closely related to horseshoe crabs we still have around in present day.

BTW every time I see the OP pic I wonder what they would taste like.

Seconded. I watched a random documentary ages ago that showed an animatronic prop of one of these things that had a camera-shutter like mouth and could swim very quickly underwater.

They filmed this on a swimming pool - for many years later, I had to look very carefully before diving in.

Uh.Wow.

Actually, I remember that. It was an Anomalocaris, not a Eurypterid. They DO look similar 2 each other, tho.
Anyway, have another Eurypterid
