K /an/, I have a leopard gecko.
Sounds pretty ordinary doesn't it?
Well, its light hasn't been on for a few weeks and it's not a UV light; it's a light bulb. Needless to say, I feel bad but I also have a few questions to ask.
The lizard is still alive but sleeps a lot. I'd assume this is bad, right?
And, does what kind of light I use matter? I heard it doesn't...

it is nocturnal, so it does not need a uv light.

What are you feeding it?

Reptiles and amphibians kept in captivity are typically highly at risk for metabolic bone disease, which is caused by a deficiency of minerals, mainly calcium. You should be feeding your gecko a calcium supplement with its food. If you feed crickets, gut-loading them prior to feeding is another good idea.
