Hi, /an/.
I posted a few days ago with pictures of my new duckling asking for name help, etc. (We named it Po.. is that faggy?) Anyway, I went out for a bit today and came back and the duckling seems to have a problem with one of his little eyes. He keeps it partially closed and it looks a little teary, maybe like it's swollen? He also just seems really lethargic, so now we're sitting here and he's laying on me with his eyes closed. Is there anything I can do to help his eye? I'm worried that drops might hurt him?
I'm just worried about him.. :\

I know? But I know there are other people here who have birds and ducks. So maybe they would know?

Eye infection. Might have already gotten into the little ducky brain and made it a mindless zombie. Soon it will vomit its mushy thinkbox out and go after yours. This is a really akward affliction that experienced duck owners usually warn you about. The only way to stop it is to douse the duck in liberal amounts of strong alcohol to kill the bacteria.

This is why you don't go to 4chan for advice, and we're not goddamn doctors or there first hand to tell you whats wrong with the duck.

Good God, /an/, for a bunch of animal-loving faggots, you all suck balls at actually helping anyone out. I realize no one here is a professional or really has any idea what they're talking about, but if you've got a pet and they're hurt and you don't know how to help them, it's a little helpful to get some insight. I'm sure if it happened to you you'd feel just as shitty.

Thanks for proving my point that 4chan is full of overreactive emotional cryfags. This is why you all make relationship threads about how you're still virgins and cannot get girls to even look your way. BAWWWW

Not to mention that when you DO receive help/a good answer, you completely ignore it you ungrateful fat bitch.

forgot how /an/ is full of faggots and cunts.
get the duck to swim more and try to get itt to go underwater to rinse out his eye
see if that helps. hope it gets better

Wow all of you are great lol STFU and help with the poor duck.

Bring the duck to the vet, probably and eye infection, get it a check-up. Simple as that.

And /an/, leave Op alone and go fap to some loli gore on /b/

Thanks, anon. The problem is.. do vets even take mallard ducks? Isn't that a wild animal?

an avian vet should be knowledgeable enough. a general cats and dogs vet might be a bad idea, though.

Umm you only have one duck you fail. Ducks are social and it needs friends. Your duck is doomed unless you get him friends. They get depressed. But if you see its eye all watery it might be getting a infection in its eye anyway so it might be getting sick. Did you find it at a pond and take it from it's mom like asshole kids do. or did you buy it from a farm shop because i would smack the guy you bought it from. He should tell you they need to be in groups. Sorry about your sick lonely bird

Thanks.. sort of? I realize that getting more than one duckling is always a better option, but it's just a huge fucking handful, so one's a bit more manageable for me. Like I said, I spend a lot of time with him.. pretty much he's with me all day when he's awake, so while I'm sure he gets lonely, I try my best to make him comfortable. His eye's actually improving a bit on its own, so I'm not sure what it was.
I bought him at a farm shop, from a huge cage with tons of other ducklings. So in a way, I feel like at least his life now has got to be better than that mess.
