Hey /an/
Can you identify the breed/color combo of this cat as this is the kind of cat that I would love to have once I finally move out.

Its Dale Earnhardt Jrs cat buddy, he has two of the same.
Pic is from this video:

This is a joke right? You want a cat because some race car dude has one?

That is a standard domestic cat. It is a piebald gray smoke (it appears his hair is white or very light gray at the base) with some tabby markings.

I did.

I will amend this to say that, because Dale Earnhardt Jr can probably afford one, that cat may be a ragdoll (with shitty conformation) or a maine coon mix (definitely not pure).

Just because his cat is awesome doesn't mean a cat that looks like it will be. I fostered a cat that looked the same (cept it had short hair) and now he is a huge behemoth that attacks everything and is a total douchebag.

You can go to just about any animal shelter or rescue organization or even look on petfinder and pick up a grey and white tabby (which is what it will probably be listed as because most people don't' know wtf a piebald smoke is).

Arg. It is 90% likely that it is not a maine coon or a ragdoll. It is theorhetically possible (much like its possible I just had sex with your mother) that you might find a similar looking maine coon, but that cat is not one.

Tabby is a pattern. There are classic two main kinds of tabbies: classic and mackerel. Mackerel tabbies have spots and stripes over their bodies, while classic tabbies have very thick bands. This is an orange mackerel tabby. Snailcat and the snailkittens are mackerel tabbies (caramel braided ticked tabbies, actually). An orange classic tabby (such as "Morris" from the commercials) might be called an orange marmalade cat.

Piebald is a term meaning part-white. It happens in many many species, but most people recognize the term from peafowl, horses, and snakes. "Tuxedo" cats are pied. (Pied = to be piebald)

This cat is a medium coat dilute orange smoke classic tabby. If you want more information, look here -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cat_coat_genetics because I have already spent way too much time on this.

You want to hear some amazing genetics? Lets talk about Impressive. Impressive was a big, beautiful, perfect chestnut stallion. He was so wonderful, that at one point his owner was offered 300,000 usd to sell him, and refused, stating that he was priceless. He became the first World Champion Open Aged halter stallion. He sired over 2,000 horses and has over 100,000 descendants.

Many of his kids became champions. He had a great line of stunning horses. Except his kids and grandkids started getting sick. Over half of his descendants had Hyperkalemic Periodic Paralysis, aka HYPP. Their potassium levels were killing them. Still, no one wanted to blame Impressive because they weren't sure that the disease was solely from his line, and just about anyone who could afford his kids were incredibly wealthy and influentual. And you don't say "Hey stop breeding your priceless horse his kids die horrible deaths" to those kids of people. Now though, there is a genetic test to prove that a horse does not carry the gene despite being Impressive's descendant, and the price between twin foals can vary thousands of dollars if one of them lacks this gene.

Impressive could have, and still might, kill the quarterhorse breed. Seriously he deserves his name.

(I was going to write about Impressive in a "genetic dirty talk" style but creeped myself out so you get this instead)
