Snakes Anonymous
dear /an/

Ive been thinking about buying a pet for a while and its come down to either a small pet (either rats or gerbils) or a snake. I really want a snake but am not to informed about them. Ive seen at a local pet store a ball python and i think i want a ball python. But i want to ask what is a good snake for a beginner, what should i feed it, and what kind of a tank or habitat i should use?

I recommend banana snakes.

ball pythons are good for beginners.

they eat mice.

stick it in an aquarium with at least one thing it can hide under and make sure it stays warm enough.

make sure the lid is secure. snakes like to escape.

or just RESEARCH IT YOURSELF so you don't get a bunch of anonymous fucktards giving you false information..

Snakes are supremely boring pets. But, they're also easy. So I guess if you'll remember to still give it its minimal care requirements even though it does nothing but sit all day, go for it. Find a beginner's species (corn snakes, ball pythons, red-tail boas) you're interested in and research it, because they're all different in their maximum size (therefore tank size) and what they need to eat. As far as elongated turds that sit on branches go, I like ball pythons.

Kid's too small. The snake's probably waiting till he grows bigger and can be a decent meal.
