I was at a pet store today and was looking around when I saw one of these little guys. My question: why would name such a nice animal so meanly? I mean, "Dumpy Frog?" What the heck? It's uncalled for.

they always remind me of grapes when they stick to the glass.

Don't make fun of Dumpy Frog!

White's tree frog is a barely better name for them, but it still confused the hell out of me when I was little because they're not white.

I always thought it was a cute name. Kinda like 'dumpling' or something. I love these frogs though...they're so cute.

The 'official' name is White's Tree Frog, after the guy who discovered them. Most of the time they're referred to as either that or Dumpy Tree Frogs. They also, despite OP's file name, are not from Mexico. They actually come from Northeast Australia, New Guinea, Indonesia and the Torres Straits. They also change color from browns to greens depending on lighting, hydration, etc.

I did a WHOLE bunch of research on them a few months ago after seeing some at PetSmart, which resulted in me buying a pair.

Pic related. They like to sit on each other, god knows why. As long as they aren't popping out eggs, I don't care what weird stuff they do.
