Not like there's negative points to dogs, it's just always been a LOT less stressful for me, owning a cat. I have had dogs, and I love them, but I also love owning cats. The thing seems content enough with life, and it obviously has SOME kind of attachment to me, whatever you want to call it, and that's enough. If you want to get technical I don't think a whole lot of pets 'love' their owners. I know a snake certainly wouldn't, and you could argue this same point with owners of rabbits, rats, chinchillas, ANYTHING. It's from the point of view of the owner, and whether THEY believe it is enough to make them happy. Some people don't need a pet that's as obvious in it's loyalty as a dog. Just as well, I don't think you've ever seen a well-owned cat. A lot of people are idiots in raising the things, even if it's a million times simpler than owning a dog. Then you have the skittish, claw-y asshole cats people own. EVERYONE hates those shits. My cats aren't afraid of strangers, and are okay with anyone petting them/picking them up. They only show STRONG affection to the people who raised them, but they can still purr and be affectionate to anyone. 'Love' is a human emotion, or a label. I don't give a living shit if my cat loves me, whatever it IS exhibiting in all the purrs and frantic rub-attacks the moment I come home are enough to make me think they make good pets. Sorry you can't appreciate something unless it kisses your ass openly.
