It's a chinese giant salamander. They get bigger than the japanese giant salamander, and at least one population is albino.

oh god i hated those films. they used to be the only thing on during thanksgiving dinner though when I was little, for some reason.

Also, I have this old book called "Soil Animals" by F. Schaller. It has a drawing of Aboringinals in Austrailia supposedly hunting for giant earthworms... seems kinda farfetched, but is it true? D;
