Hey, /an/, do cats have a faster healing rate then humans?
Because about maybe three or four weeks ago, my cat got a deep scratch from a fight, and just last week it's already healed.

His wounds always tend to heal faster than any other wound I've seen on anyone else...

...When cats purr it serves a real function. Apart from expressing contentedness and pleasure, the small vibrations sent through the body from the action of purring , aides the cat's body in healing itself. Helps cell regeneration. Like how plants that grow in strong weather turn out stronger than plants that had no outside disturbance. Makes the cell connections stronger and more hardy.
Or something. But I did read this somewhere and it makes sense.

what he says... not sure where but i remember watching that on National Geographic. But is it limited to just domestic cats or all felines including lions and tigers?

Big cats don't purr. They growl, which is mistaken for purring.

Not true.

Also, unless this is a recent discovery,>>289327
is also probably fake.

my cat got in a fight too...she got about an inch gash where you could see under her coat (wasn't really bleeding). i cleaned up the wound thinking she would probably need stitches for it cause it looked nasty, but the next day it was already closed up and didn't look infected or anything. a few days later there wasn't even a scab and now i cant find where the gash was

This sounds like an urban legend, but it turns out there's actual solid science behind this claim. Cats' purring frequency is the same that has been shown to increase bone density, speed up tissue regeneration and ease pain.

You can';t forget that a cat's saliva is a natural antiseptic too. I didn't know that the purring was linked to healing. I can tell you there is probably a kid out that blew his fingers off from a firework purring away hoping for a miracle.
