Whats the best way to house break a dog?
I just recently got a 8 month old Miniature Pinscher
and she keeps pooping in the house.

i hate to tell you thins, but there is no right way. all dogs are different. with my last dog all it took was a very stern "BAD DOG!" at which point I took him and his doo outside. next week he was going outside only. the dog before that took much more effort than that. she was sneaky so we never caught her in the act so we had to convey the point to her after the fact, which is very hard to do with dogs. we basically had to place her next to it and try to make her understand. it worked after a while but it was very hard.

My dad would always rush at our dog and pick it up by the scruff of its neck giving her a scruff shake, and run her to the corner of our lawn we wanted her to poop in if it looked like she was going to poop or pee inside the house/not in her corner of the lawn. I was 5 at the time so it looked kind of mean though... But on the plus side, our dog is now 15 years old and still incredibly well-trained. She still doesn't poop anywhere except the 5' by 5' corner of our lawn furthest from our house. Ever.

When our pup had to go we'd just lead him outside. He was smart enough to figure it out right away.

I always thought the psychology was to just take the dog out often enough so they associate pooping with being outside
