Okay, so the chances of me getting up to the pet store to get Crickets for my Leopard Gecko are slim right now and was wondering if I could use your garden variety Black cricket to feed her instead of those sandy brown crickets you buy at the store. My main concern is ; will these garden variety crickets hurt my Gecko in any way?

has any /an/on used them before?

Do not feed your gecko wild crickets.

I have a friend who left town for a trip, their petsitter caught a cricket to feed their gecko. It died.

Wild crickets can have any kind of disease... they're horrible for your gecko. The storebought ones are much safer. Don't forget the calcium powder!

Okay thank you. I never forget her Calcium Powder. I just asked as I know someone who feeds them to their Beardy and was wondering if Geckos could do the same. Thank you very much kind sir

Also, I think there are a few good online order services that let you buy healthy crickets to be delivered to you. Do more research, but a quick googling brings up:

and
http://grubco.com/

Good luck!

The only difference between wild crickets and store bought is the fact that they're in the sun, which makes them darker (from the melanin). That, and any of the hundreds of horrible diseases that crickets may carry, which they are not exposed to in captivity.

Happy gambling!
