'sup /an/?

I've adopted a couple of days ago a beagle puppy which is 40 days old.
Excluding the usual normal issues with puppies (peeing everywhere, pooing everywhere, occasional puking, barking and crying everytime it's left alone), I have a precise question this time.

She bites. A lot.

When she plays, every time yo joke with her, she bites really hard, two of my sibilings have been pierced a bit too. And of course, because it's a puppy, no words or gesture can let her know she's doing wrong. Is it normal for a puppy to be biting so hard? Will she ever stop? Do I have to educate her in some way?
Picture extremely related.

tl;dr: is it normal for a puppy to bite so hard to hurt?

Oh yeah, you got me, I'ma baaaad booooy.
Except for misunderstandings and trolls, I was talking about the bitings in the puppy stage: do I have to do something SPECIFIC for it? Is there an education path that I'm supposed to follow in THIS CASE?

Good luck with that little life ruiner. I fucking hate beagles. My brother has one, my parent's next door neighbor has one, and my roommate has two. Worst dog ever. Give it away as fast as possible. You might be lucky because it's a female, but probably not. Prepare to have all your shit ruined. They chew the shit out of everything and never shut the fuck up. Baying is just about the most terrible sound to ever come out of an animal. Get ready for it. You should have got a corgi. You still have a chance to get rid of it before you get too attached.

Oh, one more thing, they also do this thing with their sinuses that sounds like they're heaving chunks. Most hounds do it. It sucks because you'll be eating dinner and once that shit starts, you just don't feel like eating any more.

Heed my advice and get a corgi. You'll be much happier. (pic related)

Yes.

Do I have to educate her in some way?

Yes. How? Find out how mother dogs and pack leaders educate their young - they amazingly enough have the same problems with their puppies.

Corgis are awesome.
I'll get one when i move to my own house.
i love them.
Now i have a Northern idunno whats it in english, and its very similiar to the welsh corgi. It only has longer legs. The colour is the same and the face too.

Ok, I thought the biting issue wasn't an issue at all. I'll look around for it.

About the choice of the breed... It's actually not MY dog, so it's not exactly MY problem. I'm moving out soon, I was just asking for my parents. My mother by the way will surely like to spoil her, so there's no problem for her to be a troublemaker, and it's not my problem if she bites everything.
We're not giving her away, it's not my choice...

By now she's showed only common puppy issues and that love for biting everything. I think I'll keep you updated next days and months.

when she bites your hand, pinch her tongue lightly

keep doing that and she'll learn pretty fast that biting is uncomfortable for her and she won't do it as much

To punish bad behavior, a mother dog will nip her puppies' ears. You can imitate this with a pinch on the ear, accompanied by a sharp "No!", and the dog will soon learn. Don't go crazy though, a certain amount of rough and tumble is totally normal in a puppy, but do remember that this is the time when it is finding it's place in the pack, as it were, so it is very important to use this opportunity to clearly put yourself in the role of pack leader.
Also, feed the puppy after you eat. So many people don't bother with this simple thing but it's a clear statement of dominance and very important.

Thanks for the advice, I didn't know the ear-thing: I'll do it.

I know it's the phase when they learn their place, and I hope I'm not gonna be too soft neither too rough. I'll try to be firm.

Thanks for the advice ;)

all you have to do is say "no" really loud when it bites too hard. give it a toy in place of your hand to wrestle with.

My dog breeder and show judge friends says it may want something to chew on so give it a Kong. She also says if it bites, smack it on the nose, or grab its front paw and stick it in its mouth.

To be absolutely honest? Biting problem only works when you make it unattractive for hte puppy to bite you.

Try having some harmless but nasty tasting stuff like the ferret training sprays next time you play with her.
