hey /an/

i found this cat a few hours ago sitting on the curb. it came to me willingly and im wondering if its a LOST cat or a cat that just gets out at night....

ive never seen this cat in my area before but there are also no lost cat signs that i know off....your thoughts /an/??

Put up found cat posters and see if anyone comes to claim it.

Depending on where you live, it might have mandatory microchipping. Take it to the local pound.

definately put up posters and in one week if no one claims it keep him!

Looks like you have yourself a new cat. It's pretty cute, too. Congrats!

OP here

shes been okay so far but gets very anxious looking out the window and constantly wants to go outside. ive never gotten a cat to come to me before and now im stuck on what to do. i feel bad but at the same time i dont want to take a risk...

also i cannot keep the cat very long so if i dont find any signs that say LOST CAT ill have to take her to the shelter...

If the cat was owned it would have a collar on.

Yours now.

This is obviously someone's cat. And if she's itching to go outside, chances are she wants to go home. Let her back out so she can go home.

cars will kill it

I'm always afraid of putting up "found cat" posters because I'm afraid some sick bastard will come over, claim the cat and then lighter fluid

Easy solution to that problem: Put up "Found Cat" posters, but don't describe the cat. Just say where you found it and some basic information, such as "male shorthair" (for example).

Only give the cat to someone if they can describe it correctly.

i gave the cat to the humane society and they listed the cat as lost. i also put up FOUND flyers to notify owners where their cat is.

Does Pasadena even license cats?

dipshit, the entire idea is the person has to know what the cat looks like.

Post some of the signs around Eagle Rock. Not long ago I saw a "have you seen" poster around there with a cat that looked very similar

Kick it back to the curb.

hey /an/

i just put my cat out a few hours ago, and now it's gone. nowhere to be seen.

of course, she does like to just go willingly to perfect strangers, so i'm wondering if some asshole got hold of her and has a free new pet cat. your thoughts /an/??

In before Balki and Larry.

this is why people shouldn't have outdoor cats.

kudos for you wanting to help, but i was probably someone's cat that was allowed to go outside.

thats what irresponsible pet owners get for having no collar/license on their beloved pet and tricking good civilians into thinking its accidentally separated from its irresponsible owner who shouldnt let it walk around at night near busy streets in the first place.

my cats used to wear collars and tags, but they know how to take them off. so we don't even try anymore. our neighbor took in our cat for a week, thinking it was a stray. they let him out though (obviously an outside cat), and he came to us at times. so we never noticed until we were talking to them and saw the cat there. they asked if it was ours. so now they're not allowed to feed our cat anymore. we paid for the shots, thank you.
