Best in thread.

Amazing shots. I wonder if this was somewhat staged. They look like fighting dogs. I wonder if the owner sent them after the bull knowing they'd blindly attack in spite of their being dwarfed by the size of the other animal. I mean... the camera work seems pretty focused of good shots more than the welfare of the dogs.

IIRC these were shot in Louisiana after / during hurricane Katrina. Basically starving, stray dogs attacking a wandering cow. I could be wrong. awesome pics though.

Not from Hurricane Katrina, they existed before that on my hard drive. Apparently a policeman shot the dogs.

I have not the pictures to prove it, so whether you believe me or not is your call. First let me give you some background on the story. I lived on OSU campus at the time, pretty much in the middle of downtown Columbus. Me and some friends we're sitting in the alley next to my apartment building, drinking some beer in his truck bed. There we're about four or five of us. One of those people was my neighbor. Anyway, Joel my neighbor had a cat named Murphy. Murphy looked like your average Oange and Yellow DSH, but he was big. Not fuckhueg, but bigger than your normal alley cat. Anyway, we're sitting in the truck bed, and all of a sudden we hear some commotion coming from the bushes across from us, and lo and be-fuckin-hold, theres Murphy and a 'Coon, dukin' it out. They come rolling out of the bushes, and Murph proceeds to pull the ol' "im gonna go for your throat" bit. The 'Coon eventually stops moving. Murphy looks up, cleans himself off, looks at us, then proceeds to drag the Raccoon up into a tree. Again, no pictures, so no proof. But ya know. Believe it if you want to. It was pretty fuckin' epic.

Of course it is. Trauma like that to that part of the body in any vertebrate would almost certainly result in death.

yeah, the two dogs attacked the bull (is it? ) cuz they were hungary, eventually cops came and shot them, i think one of the dogs took two to the head and was still trying to get the bull.

Not immediately, but yes, shock and blood loss from scalping/skinning would eventually kill anything. But it's real, the bird probably limped away and quietly died (unless the raptor came back). Often prey animals are still alive when the predators start to eat them. No such thing as a quick and painless kill.
>> Anonymous
>>310279
maybe because only the good shots were released?...
>> Anonymous
>>310768
Actually shock will usually prevent you from feeling pain. In that sense, being eaten alive is less painful than being choked to death.
>> Anonymous
>>310808
Timmothy Treadwell seemed to be feeling a lot of pain when the bear ate him.... Or at least he was really good at faking the screams...

>> Anonymous

Even if he were in shock, he'd have been screaming out of pure human instinct - to call the other tribe members to help him, so to speak.
>> Anonymous

The Treadwell recording was never released. The audio on the web purported to be of Treadwell is either another incident or, more likely, a recreation.
>> Anonymous

Yeah, not feeling any pain doesn't mean he didn't know he was getting eaten by a bear.

you call this a fair fight? Hiding in the bushes and shooting the moose from yards, (if not, further) away?? Naw bitch. I'd PAY to see him wrassle bare handed with a big ass moose like that. Now THATS a fair fight. don't like it? then stay outta moose territory.

This thread is called EPIC fights, not FAIR fights. There is no such thing as a fair fight in nature. The moose has its antlers, the wolf has its teeth, we have our guns. The fittest wins.
>> Anonymous
>>312469
There is nothing epic about humans with guns vs. animals. Come to think of it, there's nothing epic about humans vs. animals full stop unless the animal wins.

>> Anonymous
>>312469
No, we have a complex society and highly advanced level of thought that allows us to plan and prepare for any situation. That and not guns makes us the leading species.

Sure, guns help when a species evolves into thought-based organisms that are poorly adapted for a naturalistic environment. In the end though, the use and strategic implementation of information will always beat out brute force.
