Go to your vet and buy a few doses of feline advantage. You need to buy more than once dose. The first one will kill the adults, but if you don't treat her a second dose a month later, the flea babies will hatch and take over again. It's expensive, but you need to open up your damn purse and drop the dime on the good shit - the crap that they sell over the counter at pet stores have been known to cause balding, allergic reactions as well as death.
You also need to deep clean your house. Vaccume very well, and in all the places you normally wouldn't - like under your bed, in the shoe closet, in the corners behind your entertainment set - EVERYWHERE. Fleas can live in the carpet and in shoes and on bed skirts until it's safe to come out and just reinfest all over again.
Once you've vaccumed, you need to remove the entire bag (if your vaccume isn't a bagless type) and toss it in the garbage OUTSIDE. Not in the garage or kitchen or anywhere else. You need to treat these fuckers like the plague.
Fleas are also a major source for intestinal worms. (Aside from eatting wild caught things)You should ask your vet while you're there about procedures for deworming your cat from intestinal worms. (two major types of worms: heart and intestinal) It wouldn't hurt to do both at the same time, actually. Heartworm medication requires a test though. It's potentially lethal to give a pet heartworm meds if they've already got heartworms.
STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND BE A BETTER OWNER - TAKE PROPER CARE OF YOUR CAT!!!
