Can cats dream? Sometimes my cat will start growling while its asleep for no reason.

I watch my cat sleep and I think he must be dreaming, the way he twitches and quivers, and the way his eyes move under his lids. What else could that be?

Neil Gaiman says cats can dream, and possibly take over the world while doing so.

Yes, most animals do indeed dream. It is a memory-enhancing mechanism. In fact, in studies of rats who regularly ran the same maze patterns, scientists found that the rats would dream about running the mazes when they slept. In fact, the scientists could even tell "where" in the mazes the rats were in their dreams based on brain wave patterns.

It's funny to watch a cat when it's having an intense dream. It's legs will twitch like it was chasing prey and sometimes it will make little biting movements with its mouth or make faint meows... hard to say when it's a good dream and when a nightmare.

my cat dreamed of being a kitten

he would start to softly click his jaw and his tongue would dart out while his two front paws would slightly move/push forward

he was dreaming about feeding off his mother when he was a kitten :)

If Neil Gaiman says it's true, then it must be true!
