Hey /an/

I just caught 4 of these little bunnies. Are they able to be kept as pets? What should I feed them?
>> Anonymous
Depends if you want to keep them as cute little cuddly fur balls or just eat them....
>> Anonymous
retard, put them back.
>> Anonymous
No. If you want a pet bunny, get a domesticated one. These ones need to be put back where you got them from ASAP.

If they are babies (not running around and stuff on their own) - Put them back exactly where you found them. If they are babies, it is normal for the mom to leave them alone during the day while she goes out to forage. Check back up on them tomorrow morning - if they have full bellies, mom has been back and fed them. If they're gone, she probably got spooked and moved them. If they are still there and look like they haven't been fed, call a local wildlife rehabilitator, who will take them in and care for them until they can be released.

I agree, let them go and consider adopting a bunny from a shelter.

Wild rabbits may have parasites, they won't want to be handled ever, they'll probably be constantly terrified, they may not eat any food you try and give them, particularly food pellets. Also, those look like babies, so they'll get bigger and eventually want to mate.

OP here. I'm gonna release them now. I'm also gonna get learned some stuff from the internet and get one from my local shelter.

I had a rabbit for three month and was only allowed to be in a small three cubic meter cage for the first two months, then a 100 square meter fenced pen outside which it like better. Then it mysteriously got eaten by a coyote when I left for vaction for a month. Probably was not a coyote but my mother's then alternative life partner ate it for stew because I pissed her off all the time. The kill site was to 'clean' for a wild predetor. Back to topic cute and cuddly as they may be a nice large pen and plenty of fresh (unprocessed[produce])food and water in the back yard would be best.

Dumb newbie question here, what does the initials OP mean here?

Original Poster or Opening Poster. Sometimes it refers to the post itself and not just the one who posted it.

In almost all cases it means the Original Poster- The person who started the thread.

I gotta disagree here - bunnies like to go outside, but make sure you supervise when they're out there. Neighborhood dogs and cats and scare them to death just by being nearby, and they will try and dig under fences. Bunny-proof a few rooms instead, they will be much safer and just as happy.

OP, I'm glad you've decided to get a rabbit from a shelter. Good luck with it!

They're big enough to be on their own now. Don't worry.

OR.. You can make a special pen thats several feet across specially for outdoor play including buried chicken wire that connects to the walls to prevent escape and invasion. A lid is smart to keep cats and dogs out as well.
Digging is something they like to do, so I'd suggest planning it well and bury the chicken wire about 1 foot deep.

Seriously.. I know owners really love their rabbits, and I love my guinea pig, but I'm not letting a poop factory have free reign over sections of my house, nor would I ever suggest such a thing to another person.

It's not a MYSTERY if you know how it died.
