Hey /an/, Murphy keeps throwing up his food. There's no hair or anything in it that I can see. Now he's just wandering around the room meowing. What's wrong with him?

He's probably a drunk. Fucking fratboy.

He just threw up again as I typed this. That meowing he was doing I guess meant that he knew he wasn't feeling so hot. I'm gonna go buy some worm medicine I guess. Do worms make cats throw up? Though, I don't even know if he has em...

Seconding vet. Find out what he has, THEN medicate it - not the other way around!

Did you change his food recently? Is he being clingy? If you changed his food, it might not be sitting right. If he's clingy (or antisocial if he's usually clingy, pretty much the opposite of the norm), it's a good sign that he's sick. I'd take him in if it doesn't get better in a few hours

okay, I just read up on worms and I think Murphy actually has tapeworms. It says you may find dead tapeworm segments where they sleep and there's like lil sesame seed looking things on the bed.. Ii guess that tapeworm chunks lol.

If you can, scoop some of it up and take it to the vet to get them to check it. Take him in, as well. Don't medicate him without being sure.

TAPEWORMS (Dipylidium caninum, T. taeniaeformis) are the other type of parasite that’s visible to the naked eye. Actually, what you will observe are tapeworm segments that have broken off from the adult parasite that is attached to the lining of the cat’s intestinal tract. These tapeworm pieces vary in length, are usually white and are frequently seen (while still alive) contracting and expanding around the cat’s rectum or on a dog’s stool immediately after elimination. Once the segments die, they will look like grains of uncooked wild rice or sesame seeds and are often found where the cat sleeps.

I don't really have a lot of money. How much does a vet visit cost?

My cat didn't have worms and chucked up a lot in his younger days. Then I figured that it was the crap dry food I was giving him, because sometimes he'd eat some of it and then immediately vomit it up and it had barely been digested. Feed Murphy on a better quality cat food for a little while and then report back.

Alright I'll try that, thanks /an/ and if he's still throwing up tomorrow I'll take him to the vet. Poor Murphy... c'mon meow :(

A vet isn't that expensive. Just don't eat out for a week, eat at home, and there - you have a checkup.

Or abstain from whatever other splurges you usually do.

A treatment for worms is really worth it for the kitty's sake.
Even if you have to put it on a credit card, the vet's a good decision.
Murphy'll appreciate it, you'll see.
