This has been bugging me for awhile, a month ago I was in the mountains hiking and there was what looked like a crow. It kept flying back and forth near this cliff I was at, it would roll upside down and freefall for about 100 feet until it was about 200 feet above the ground then roll upright. After this it would climb in altitude and repeat. I saw him do this about 8 times then flew away. Is this some kind of mating ritual? Inb4 he did a barrel roll.shitty pic related, its him upside down.
you mean a raven?and wtf would you do if you lived in the mountains and had wings?do a barrel roll indeed
I do believe it's a raven, and its either a dance (mating ritual) or proof of bravery as to how far they can nose dive before swooping back up (usually to impress)
