What is the right amount of cats, /an/?
>> Anonymous
1-3 is fine.
5 should be the max.
>> Anonymous
If you must, two.
>> Anonymous
none
>> Anonymous
i have 4 lol
but one stays in the basement all the time so its like have just 3
>> Anonymous
there are never enough cats
>> Anonymous
2-3 cats per person in the house. It also depends on how big your house is.

If you live in a four bedroom house and have four people, you could have 6 cats and all the cats could receive adequate attention.... theoretically.

I concur.

Most states have laws saying how many you can own at once.
>> Anonymous
One cat is fine too.
>> Anonymous
1 if you want a pet because pets are fun. As many as you can get if you're trying to fill a void in your life.

Well, 2 is nice so they can keep eachother company when you might not be around.

OVER NINE THOUSAND

Too many cats spoil the broth.

Mmm...cat soup.

tThis is a trick question...

The correct answer is: THERE ARE NEVER ENOUGH CATS!
>> Anonymous
>>166289

Oh ho, but there can be a such thing as "too many cats for the amount of litter boxes you maintain".

I've lived in a house with twenty cats. Shit sux.

>>166269
I count nine cats. a reasonable amount for outdoor farm cats.

We have five kitties and six people. All cats get adequate attention. Too much attention, acctually, for they are spoiled little mounds of fluff and sharp stuff.
>> Anonymous
two indoor cats per human assuming human has two hands. You can maybe double that if they're indoor/outdoor cats and quadruple that if purely outdoor cats.

Actually a crazy pet lady I knew with like 40 cats had one of those 1 dollar plastic kiddie pools in her backyard filled with cat litter. Now that's clever for a crazy!

My mom comes from a family that had 6 cats. Her expert opinion is that 6 is way too much. My sister and her husband currently have 3. I'd say 2 to 3 is the optimum. If you have 4, you'll have difficulty giving all of them the attention they need.

I used to have ten cats at one time but now I have four.

Chronic cats.
>> Anonymous
Now revealing the correct answer. The actual number of cats anyone should own is ZERO!!!
>> Anonymous
there is no reason to interfere with nature, cats are perfectly capable to limit their heard size! as long as they can go outdoor you can have any number of cats!
its the indoor only cats that suffer, even if its only one cat!
>> Anonymous
>>166396
Zero is the correct number of cats that should be alive anywhere.
>> Anonymous
One fucking cat, two at the most, but only if you rescued the other one as a kitten or something.
>> Anonymous
0 or -1

Are you insinuating that someone is actually capable of owning a cat, and not vice versa?

(P.S: Soviet Russia doesn't count.)
>> Anonymous
>>166437
Truth, in that you can't really "own" a cat if it has outdoor access. The 3 cats that have chosen to live with me are free to leave at any time, but every day they come back. It's an entirely consensual relationship.
>> Anonymous
>>166447
Like, you can't "own" property, man
>> Anonymous
>>166457
I can because I'm not a penniless hippy.

We got a puppy, and one of my cats moved out for 8 months until the puppy left. Now she is back living with us. I wonder if whoever she moved in with for that time was like wtf about it.
>> Anonymous
all my cats have an explosive collar and they know if they stay outside of the 50meter radio signal range for more than 12 hours they can kiss their fuzzy butts goodbye
>> Anonymous
>>166457
Well, my house isn't going to squeeze through its own catflap and run off, so yes, I think you can own property.

Plastic chairs are a good idea in this case. She probably hoses down the apartment every day.
