I'm fucking getting a fucking pet rat. That motherfucker is going to be awesome.

But if I get a male and female rat, and they try having hot rat sex and she gets pregnant, is there anything special that I would need to do for her when she actually has the baby rats? Or can they take care of the whole birthing process themself?

And once she has them, will they for the most part take care of the babies, or will I have to take special care of them?

They breed more than rabbits. You will have to call pest control in a few months.

Good, I want lots of little baby rats running around ruining our house ^_^

But I assume that means that I can just leave them to their business and they'll take care of everything themself?

They tend to have lots of babies. Be ready for an 8+ litter meaning you should have homes lined up for them before hand. Then make sure you have the space to keep them for when all those rats grow up and have the money to get the parents spayed/ neutered afterwards since having litters of rats one after the other is going to get old. Oh and be prepared to have to keep all the babies if you have to because people who swore they would adopt one of the babies when they grow up always fall end up falling through.

I'll be ready to keep the babies. They aren't exactly the most expensive pet to take care of, right? They don't need shots or anything do they?

And I still need confirmation that they handle the whole birthing process themself, and that I don't have to worry about taking it to a vet or anything when it's about to have the babies.

And what about once they're born, does the mother take care of them or do I have to do special shit for them?

Well like any animal is can all go totally fine and the parents will take care of them and you won't have any problem at birth. But there is always a chance of the babies getting stuck in the birth canal and you have to take her to a vet or she could abandon the babies and not feed them. You never know really.

The only expense is having all the cages to house them which can get expensive since the cages are like $60 then all the food.

Um... you sound like you have no experience what so ever. --Don't get them.-- If you want a "fucking pet rat", then be smart about it - get yourself a same sex pair and do some research.

Because a rat is difficult to keep and research. The OP is doing research by asking you people.

Do you really trust yourself to have your VERY FIRST EXPERIENCE with a new pet be in breeding it? How arrogant.
Buy yourself a pair of same-sex rats (pref. male) and acquaint yourself with them first. Get to know how they work, learn about their behaviors, get close to them, THEN decide if you'd be ready to handle more than that. Rats do require a nice amount of care and play with their owners, personally, and while they are small pets, they are STILL pets. Which means they need love and attention from you, the owner.
I don't know why you seem driven to own so many rats. It would matter more if you just had two BFF rats who were exceptionally attached to you, instead of 30 who barely know you and probably, you being an inexperienced rat owner, won't be socialized properly as individuals.

>How arrogant.

Who calls people arrogant? I mean, really?

It's not like he's driving a car full of infants while inebriated or anything. They're fucking rats. They fuck, have babies. You put the babies in other cages. It's not fucking brain surgery.

Jesus fucking Christ I hate petfags.
