Fellow /an/nihilators, What are the Legalities of owning a Jackal (Black/Silver-backed) in the US? Furthermore, How would one go about aquiring one(sorry for spelling)? The Neccesity of a USDA Class A liscense goes without saying, but,I am unaware of any other restrictions/obligations.

Thanks in advance.

If you can't spell basic elementary school words I doubt you can be trusted to care for a jackal. Please come back and try again after you have passed the fifth grade. Until then you will get no information from this Anonymous.

Step 1) Go to SPCA
Step 2) Find a dog
Step 3) Name him Jackal

owning wild animals = pain in the ass and more than likely ends up in loss of life for the animal.

just get a hermit crab.

You can have pet spiders free and legally just by living like a slob. They will move in to your house to eat the roaches.

Wow. I never would've expected to find an insulting reply from /an/. I was under the impressioin that you guys actually had a shred of tolerance in you.

86018, why did you even post? If I'm so petty that I can't even spell elementary school words correctly, I am obviously oblivious to any of them thar book-learnin' words in that astonishly pointless post.

Somehow, though, I can't help but think that you posted that to try to build up some (much-needed) self esteem. No matter.

I guess I'll have to wait utill all the egotistic self-righteous failures here have exhausted their resentment towards parents/classmates/etc. in my direction before I get any useful advice from the few intelligent ones here.

To those that aren't busy polishing their e-phallus: I found out that my state has no restrictions against Jackals, and that they fall into the same category as coyotes as far as harbouring/transportation goes, but there's still the problem of importing.

Because everyone who makes a contribution of nothing but insult, and doesn't even sage the thread, obviously wants their post to be seen by others. What other motives could there be?

Basic Logic.

One of the things I noticed about chan boards is that if you ask a serious question that requires some expert knowledge or experience, then you will get often dumb answers. Why? For starters, the decent and sensible visitors often don't know an answer, or don’t feel like giving an obvious answer, so they don't post. Look around any chan site - they are places where you can post things that get you banned elsewhere, and they are places that are usually visited by younger laypersons. Posting a question like that, seemingly without knowing this is a green light for trolls and all sorts of bitter and mean people to get some release. Relax, it's just the Internet. Ask at a number of larger animal forums where you need to register to post. You will probably still get a negative response, since these are animals that are not domesticated and belong in the wild. Also, there is no such thing as “you guys” here – we are all (more or less) anonymous and one person can look like an army of *whatever* if they wanted to.

What's all this Candlejack stuff? Is this one of those "memes" that everyone on /b/ keeps talking about? I don't get it, those guys are weird. What exactly is supposed to happ

Well, good Mr. Jack, anon generally does things, "for the lulz". As in, s/he found it amusing to post belittling the person, and so they did.

Sometimes people don't realise that they are being stupid. That is why cars have horns, why there are labels on aresol cans that say "DO NOT PUNCTURE", and warnings on paint cans to not eat the contents. People are stupid, and do stupid things, and sometimes, someone has to point it out.

I try and put something helpful in with my insults, such as pointing them in the right direction, or giving them the requested information.

However, Candlejack, you are a screeching co

I don't think you should get one mate, it seems like more trouble than it is worth, right? I think the US is a tad too lenient on the exotic and wild animals front. Someone kept a fucking tiger in their apartment, remember that? You are probably not a zoo, since you can type, therefore forget about it would be the best idea I think.
