I have 2 wiener dogs much like the one pictured here but one is black. I have had both since they were puppies and they are 8 years appart in age. Every time I walk by them even if I don't look down or aknowledge them if they are on a somewhat soft surface (carpet grass dirt ect.) they will roll over onto their backs and start waggleing thir front paws. I have no idea why they do this, I give them loads of attention since right now I am only working part time and I have never as much as yelled at them so I don't think it is a submissive behavior. Why do they do this /an/?

Dogs are naturally submissive to the alpha, whether you notice it or not. Some display it more than others and it doesn't have to have anything to do with aggression towards them. Most likely they want to play and are happy to see you.

They do this constantly though any time I am within 5 feet even when i put out their food bowls they will just sit there and waggle their paws, If i rub their tummies and get up they will start yipping and growling. The older one has even learned to wiggle twords things on her back so she can bump into my legs.

"Sit and waggle"? My dog does this when she is terribly excited to see me (and food). Dogs can get very protective over food - to other dogs and the owner. Don't touch them or go near them until they have finished. From what I read, you give them separate food bowls, which is good. My wagglepaws gets protective over food, but I think she had bad experiences with the family of young boys that owned her before me.

my mutt (black lab mix female) will roll over to lay on her back if you stand in front of her. the whole submission thing.

My beagle Weiner mix also rolls on his back and waggles his front pays at me, I call it his retard dance cuz it looks like a downs syndrome kid having a fit, specially when he gets his back legs into it.

that kinda sounds like how silly humanoids act towards me.
