So my mom left for work, and a smallish frog the (half-dollar sized or so) jumped on the door jamb and, ta da, no more frog. She leaves me to clean it up. So as I'm wiping frog eggs from the door (ick) I notice this small clear spherical thing. It was sort of hard, in that I couldn't really squish it (not that I tried much, I was a little put off by the frog corpse to be curious.)

My question to you, /an/ is what was that small spherical thing?

An eyeball?
They're pretty tough.

Oh, that was probably it I guess, then. Do many animals have those? I'd just assumed most eyes were filled with some kind of fluid and that was that.

Well, I can only recall my biology lesson involving a cow's eyeball.
It was filled with a gel-like goo and it was very tough.
Not easy to cut at all.

Different eyes for different animals then, I guess.
