What kind of moss are you trying to get? If its just regular moss, your regular LFS should have it.
If you are afraid that your goldfish is going to eat moss, then just feed it some vegetables. Fish can not say "no" to a piece of zucchini.

Yes.

I couldn't keep any live plants with my goldfish, they ate everything.

my LFS has nothing besides a few floating plants and variations of swords. I already have every plant they have in my tank, and I'm looking for some ground cover to fill out my foreground.

my goldfish nom all over my aforementioned plants, but the plants are large enough that they still live

ok well anyways, I've decided to get some java moss and some dwarf baby tears. I'm planning to have the java moss grow on and between this lava rock archway I have, and I was going to attach the dwarf baby tears to a peice of red slate (to match the lava rock). What would be the best way to ensure that my plants can attach to their respective rocks quickly enough that they wont be torn to peices by my goldies? I would assume tying them to the rock with fishing wire until they attach, but let me know if there is a better way.

Yeah, just tie it, just make sure to do it fairly strong, with a piece of wire at least every 2 inches. You wont even have to cut it later - as moss will grow it will hide the wire.
It will work for archway, but dont expect to have a foreground out of moss, it doenst work very well.

pic related as its my tank, as you can see, theres just that patch of substrate that doesnt look too great. I'm planning on putting down a peice of slate directly in the middle, so the moss can have a surface to grow on.

I'm also moving the two plants that are directly left of the arch to the back. Also moving the arch closer to the left side of the tank so that it wont seem too cramped with the slate there.

If you really think your baby tears will grow in clown puke gravel you're mistaken. Get a real substrate and then you can consider it. It will have a hard time spreading out in the large gravel pieces. You'll also need some more light.

Get some Seachem Flourish, DIY CO2 and Seachem Flourish Iron. Follow the dosing regime and you can probably grow any plant. Under your current lighting moss should be fine, maybe get some anubias and some hairgrass instead. They MIGHT live in your clown puke gravel with ferts.

Also call around to other driveable places you can get some plants. See if your area has a local club where you can attend a meeting to score some free plants and advice.

PS your goldfish is ugly

i already dose with everything you mentioned, the substrate was the only choice at my pet store, all pet stores in my area only have the plants i've already mentioned, not going to drive an hour and a half to dallas to get a few free plants.

my goldfish will eat your soul

but goddamn, I want new substrate so bad, its just a bitch to have to pay insane shipping prices that cost more than the item itself, not to mention trying to replace the gravel that my swords have huge roots in.

So, you dont even have a home improvement store near you? Cause they often sell sand/small gravel that will suite aquarium better then clown puke. You dont have to get some ultra expensive specialy prepared substrate to have nice plants.

Java moss's color and texture are a total feast to the eyes. It's so stimulating that I wanna tear my eyes out.
