Hello /an/, I wanna get a small pet like a hamster or guinea pig or something, but I'm wondering if anyone has any other suggestions?

Or maybe you can get a mouse or something, I dunno, they're all kinda cool and stuff. Because, like, you know, small pets are great impulse buys and they'll just be living in the cage and stuff anyway, right? They don't REALLY need attention, that's just what the PETAfags say, like am I right?

(oh, the irony of that last statement)

If you want something that's pretty low-maintenance, then don't get a guinea pig. They'll get lonely if you don't give them attention, and can get sick because of it and etc, plus they're noisy. And they're not even that small.

Get a betta fish. They're small. And pets.

plus guniea pigs need a good bit of space

i would suggest a rat. intelligent clean and friendly. get two (you can keep f/f and m/m pairs or say a neutered male and a female.. otherwise babies... thousands..)

just get like, a nice rat condo (god i feel like a fag for saying that) and look up some stuff about them. great great pets.

Who the hell told you a guinea pig was small? They're loud and need a lot of room for the 500 laps they run every ten minutes.

Do not get a guinea pig. Do not.
They are the most soul-less of all rodents and little pets. You will slave to get rid of their stink and mess, and they will never reward you with affection. All they do is bite, gnaw on their cage bars, and go "YNUK YNUK YNUK" Terrible animals.

Hamsters, as cute as they are, bite like crazy. I've raised about 10 hamsters in my time, and I've only had one, a robo, that never bit me. He lived a short livespan though.Very fun to watch though.

Mice are also fun to watch, they are curious little critters. They make fine, short lived pets, but if you are planning on get a mouse, get more like, 5 mice. A little colony is much more entertaining than just one, and they are very easy to care for. Clean their cage regularly, though, mice stink the most out of all the pocket pets.

Rabbits are alright, they are the most difficult to keep and are most expensive. They require 2 cups of fresh veggies a day along with a small amount of pellet food. They also need unlimited timothy hay. They stink as well, but they're cute as fuck. Prepare to get yours spayed or neutered, or they will fuck your life up. They become aggressive sons of bitches and will spray everywhere. All the rabbits I've kept were like lap-rabbits. They would let you hold them and they'd sit on your lap and nap all day. For the most part, they are very affectionate and some will even lick your hands.

Rats are by far the best of all small pets. You'll have to get more than one. They are the most intelligent and affectionate of the small pets, and they will become very attached to you. Upkeep is easy, but if you decide on getting a colony, prepare to invest in a big-ass cage. The only thing I don't like is that they trail piss everywhere.

I practically own a petting zoo of small animals, all except for the ferret, which is illegal where I live - California.

I suggest a fany rat. I've only had one but she was one of the best pets I ever had.
