Anyone else think hedgehogs are cute? I've allways wanted one but they are a little expensive, would make interesting pets though.

I hear if you litter train them it wont smell so bad, because their urine and shit doesnt go everywhere and is easier to clean

Yeah, ive head you can train them to use a litter box. And if you have worries about what to feed them, just give them some catfood. Thats almost all mine would eat, and it seemed to be fine.

I like an animal that you have to be HARD CORE to pet.

You can litterbox train them, but they'll still go on the go, so expect there to be poo on their exercise wheels and such.

They're nocturnal, so don't expect them to be perky to see you before nighttime, and even then, they're not always super social, so they might never be glad to see you!

They're not supposed to be really sharp and prickly like a porcupine, its like a hairbrush, when they are calm the spikes usually lay flat on their body

They're also supposed to be too fast for the naked eye, have a tendancy to collect gold rings, and love chili dogs.

oh, and when there's stars and shit flying around them with weird music playing, dont fucking touch them.

i was interested in getting one as a pet, then came across one person's site detailing his/her experiences...she had 2, they had babies, and then the mother killed all but 1 baby, and 3 days later that baby was found half-eaten. i decided not to get one.

That happens sometimes with a lot of animals.

Yeah even female cats will eat stillborn babies. Rodents will frequently eat their babies if they get spooked and think they are under threat.

It's all about regaining the nutrients that went into the baby production.
