Our house is infested with houseflies. What kind of methods do you recommend to get rid of them? We've cleaned the house, but I'm thinking of buying a fly paper or something. Picture kind of related because our cat keeps chasing them but she's not good at killing them.

It's summer, of course you have those damn things at home. We do too. Any specific room where they're in (like, toilet or kitchen) or just your whole house in general?

whole house. But I mean, we found a piece of meat that fell on the floor and it was covered in maggots and eggs. So we know they've laid eggs in here. I'm not talking about like one or two flies, I'm talking about dozens :/

well op, we have this bags of water with a penny in it over the doorway (don;t ask where the idea came from, I have no fucking clue)

as well as a sticky fly trap near the 2 bags (one in garage, one on the back deck) and we have never had another invasion since then (before we did this, it looked like we had dead bodies hidden somewhere because there were so many)

Yeah that's what our house looks like. Right now, I counted more than thirty on our bamboo plant. I wanted to make sure that sticky fly traps worked. Thanks for the reassurance! I'll post results.

Fix screens, don't open doors/windows too long, etc.

Agreed. Keep everything sealed and crumbs cleaned off.

A trashbin with a lid is recommended.

Screens over every door & window.
