Does anybody else think it's weird that so many people seem to think hamsters can't go outdoors? I mean... animals kind of live outdoors, in general. Yeah, it's dangerous, but so is just about anything a hamster wants to actually do (aside from sleep).

hamster's are rather stupid creatures when it comes to letting themselves find thier own amuzement. granted my gerbil isnt any better. he survived outdoors for about 3 days and then practicly attached himself to my shoe when i found him in the backyard

I let my hamster go for walks in the yard all the time. You just have to watch them, like any pet.

I used to let my mice out in the grass with me but then I realized, hey! That's stupid!

There are tons of parasites and germs and shit from other wild animals that my mice could pick up and so instead, I made a little play box with organic soil and grass seeds that sprouted!
