Foxes are canids. Mustelids are animals like mink, badgers, wolverines etc.

I'm sorry for staring the meme, it's my fault.

But i still stand by the fact that watching a crazy, old, gun-toting englishman, chasing down a small furry mammal which has stolen his toast, would be a hell of a show.

Foxes behave exactly like cats, wow. That thing did everything my neighborhood cats do.

Yes. All foxes are like that.

Uh, no, this meme has nothing to do with that. There was a thread posted weeks and weeks ago where someone claimed that the red panda was a mustelid, citing diagrams that they were reading incorrectly as proof. The joke was already OLD when the thread you posted in rolled around. Murk loar, etc.
>> Anonymous
OP here, I was making a joke becaus it was acting so domesticated. You're all faggots.

Isn't it because since it's never seen another fox in its life he's just mimicking the nearest creature?

Jealous of your complete failure to contribute anything either worthwhile or lulzworthy to the slowest and least lulzy board on 4chan? Oh, lawd, LOL. You can't even troll well. Study some of Bitter's posts, then try again with a post that's less aids-ridden.

What the fuck is 'YHBT'? Is that the retard version of 'yiff'? Do aspie furries go YHBT YHBT like>>175686? YHBT in hell, or the equivalent region according to your religion, which is a fascinating subject, furfag?

Wait... I thought the general consensus is that they are damn near impossible to keep as pets (state laws, no vets with the skill to fix them up, horrible house manners, wretched smell, etc.)

Hence why he keeps it in a cage then I guess. Poor thing.

Foxfags who attempt to domesticate them for their own amusement need to fucking die in a fire.

>>175795
Judging by his other videos, the fox gets to run about quite a bit. But really, we're only seeing tiny snippets of his life, and it's not nearly enough to make a judgement on.

Foxes are dogs trying to be cats.

I'm not much of a dog person, but I imagine I might find a domesticated fox an agreeable pet. I'd want a red one, though. What's the point of having a fox if it looks like a runty sheepdog?

You should have a look at Fritzi: http://www.wir-fuechse.de/videos/fritzi_schule.wmv

More here: http://www.fritzi.lu/home.html or here under "Videos": http://www.wir-fuechse.de/ (Videos are in German, but pictures should speak for themselves)

I was waiting for one of the children to be mauled. I was disappointed.
>> Anonymous
I never thought foxes would make good pets, but there's one that used to be a pet at the zoo where I used to volunteer, and it is the tamest zoo animal I have ever met by far. It'll chew on your hand playfully without drawing blood, like a dog will.

Stinks, though. Like an un-descented ferret, but worse.
>> Anonymous
>>176198
The truly domesticated Russian foxes apparently don't smell. Which is pretty strange considering that most domesticated animals still have smells, like ferrets, and the urine of unfixed cats.

The excuse you used is the same my little brother always uses when he was being serious about something and everyone called him stupid. Then he'd suddenly start saying it was a joke!

>>176332
I'd like to believe there is nobody on the internets stupid enough to mistake a fox for a dog.

I'd like to, but I know I'd be wrong.
>> Anonymous
>>I'm not much of a dog person, but I imagine I might find a domesticated fox an agreeable pet.
Pity there's no such thing. Regular foxes, OP's video included, can't be domesticated, only tamed. Meaning they're not a pet, they're something you can keep in a cage out back for your own amusement. The Russian domesticated foxes are pretty much just dogs who are more immediately related to foxes.
>> Anonymous
>>176615

Uh, no, they are foxes, not dogs. Dogs are descended from wolves and are technically considered (genetically) to be a subspecies of the grey wolf. The Baelyev foxes are no more genetically similar to dogs than they are to wolves.
>> Anonymous
>>176615
I don't know, that animal seems pretty happy..
>> Anonymous
>>176615

Looks healthy and happy. It's most likely a rescued animal. I had a friend who's family took care of wildlife that they rescued from death. All the situations are, either let them die, or take care of them basically. They had a monitor lizard that was beaten by some mexican kids with baseball bats. They had a whole bunch of abused wild rabbits. Eventually they got a crocodile, which was pretty crazy. This was in a normal house, they had the licenses to take care of them.
>> Anonymous
>>176623
You take me too literally. Genetically yes, they're still foxes, but this isn't a panel of zoologists. To the layman or the foxfag, they're more like dogs than they are like foxes.

>>176855
That's cool. Don't get me wrong, I love animals and I appreciate people rescuing them (as long as they're competent and the animal isn't suffering through their failed attempt). But if the little guy in OP was *already* healthy and happy, then leave him to be that way in the wild. The "omg kitsune ;_;" kids can get a Shetland Sheepdog and pretend its a fox or something.
>> Anonymous
>>176855
Animals can have psychological problems like humans, right?
Wouldn't it be better for an animal that has gone through so much trauma, to be just put down?
Rabbits especially.
>> Anonymous

>>176898
why? there is always one thing that has gotten me about people who don't like exotic wildlife. claiming there are more dogs/cats that could use rescue. Why? Why not just let the foxfags/tigerfags/whatever. (well maybe not tiger fags those are technically endangered) but yeah as long as they are taking care of it and they are both happy what is the problem with having a "wild animal"?
>> Anonymous
>>people who don't like exotic wildlife.
Its because I like exotic wildlife that I hate seeing naive dumbfucks taking them out of the wild and sticking them in some enclosure for their own amusement.

>>they are both happy
I'm trying to figure out what you've mistaken for 'happy.' I guess maybe it's either looking forward to getting food, or the subversive you-are-the-alpha-male act. I doubt even the owner would be very happy once he realizes how much they stink and destroy.
