People who own "exotic" animals annoy me. There is nothing exotic or special about penning up a wild animal.

As someone who is involved with rehabilitating captive wolves and wolf hybrids after an idiot buys one and doesn't know how to take care of it
I agree.

NOT PETS, people.

People who want to own wild animals should just try a week working with the ones who didn't become pets (why would they), and see how ugly it really is.

The exotic animal people are weird. Some of them consider their right to own one to be on par with the right to own a firearm. Check this site out:
www.exoticcatz.com

Now, I'm sure that a lot of the people on that site actually know what they're doing, and can probably take good care of the animals. They also emphasize that it's a commitment, and not something just anyone should do. But, they also bitch at any talk of legislation to try to protect exotic animals from the jackasses who buy get them on impulse.

I agree that they're not pets.
But DAMN, my dream job is to be the person that bottle feeds the baby big cats and then gives them back to the zoo. All the cute, none of the "WTF do I do with this monster".
