/an/, I have a question for you guys.

So, a while ago I had a pair of dwarf hamsters living in the same 10 gallon aquarium, but they started fighting. It was late at night and I needed to separate them fast. I went to the pet store and picked up a 5.5 gallon aquarium to work as a temporary cage until I could get another 10.

Now that both of them are living comfortably in their 10 gallon aquariums (terrarium actually, it can't hold water past halfway), I have a 5.5 gallon tank that I have no use for. It seems cruel to me to keep much of anything in a tank that's only 16" x 8" groundspace-wise, but I was wondering if there's anything small I could keep in there comfortably.

Tl;dr version: what pet could I keep COMFORTABLY for its entire life, in a 5.5 gallon tank? (H 11" x W 16" x L 8")

Ever thought of just storing it away.

You dont need more pets, you cant take care of the ones you have anyways

What leads you to say that? He seemed to act responsibly in the situation described. At least he went out and bought another tank to temporarily fix the problem until he could get a bigger tank. Most fucking moron pet owners just leave them together and hope for the best, posting questions on 4chan like "what can i do to help them get along cuz i cant afford anudder tank lol."

That might be to big for a betta, they say around 1 to 1 and half gallon tanks are best for them. In nature they do live in small shallow pools of water.
