Soup, /an/, maybe you can help me.

I live in California's central valley, and every year about this time our house gets these little tiny insects in various places. It's by no means an infestation-- I see maybe five a year tops, but it seems they like my bed and I often find them on my body while watching TV.

I'm curious as to what they are. I have tried to take pictures of them, but to no avail-- they are simply too small for my shitty camera. I'd say they're 3 to 4 millimeters long and are some kind of beetle with black and beige stripes. I've seen some that I thought were all black, but that was when the room was dark, so I'll go with the stripy kind. Again, I live in California's central valley-- Fresno, to be exact.

Any aspiring entomologists want to guess my mystery bug?

I live in NW Georgia and I had a similar infestation of little yellow and black striped beetles. I usually squished them as soon as I saw them, but they would also die just by drying out on my window sill. I haven't seen one for a few weeks now though.

<-- I took a picture, but as you can see it didn't turn out very well.

Argh I hate those things! They appear randomly around in my house here in San Diego, CA. No idea what they're called however.

For some reason that looks a little bigger than my bugs (don't know why-- there's nothing there for reference). Are they about 4 millimeters?

Other than that, that's looks like the bug.

Where in Central Valley? I live near Merced, and I've never seen any huge number of bugs around here.
