Question for /an/.Does anyone know how cats get like, a little deformity/kink at the ends of their tails? I have two cats with this, and another who's tail is normal. It's almost like its sort of bent a little bit. Is this normal or did something happen to them as kittens that I never noticed? One of them I've had since he was about a day old and I don't SEEM to remember him having any weird shaped tail-tip at that time...Pic related, as it is one of the cats. His mother, is actually one with a normal tail and shes a calico. The other cat with the weird tail-tip is black and white. But anyway, halp?
very common genetic defect, sometimes called "manx trait"
>>297372Reading up on it now on Wikipedia.. That's sort of scary, says some can die before 12 months old. He seems healthy though, I shouldn't have to worry about that right? He's about to be 5 months. Also, thank you very much! :)
I have a calico with that same thing at the end of her tail and she's almost four years old.
I'm not sure what you mean, but the tip of the bone in a tail being bent is a trait that Siamese cats have.
my 8yo cats has a "bend" tip of his tail. had it when he showed up on my husband's doorstep. never thought of it anything like a genetic defect, just though he got his ital caught in a door when he was little or something>>297487really? i've had tons of siamese and never seen one w/ a crooked tail
