dear /an/. Today I caught a cockatiel in my backyard, and put it in an empty hamster cage. As far as I know, these birds aren't native to europe where I live, so it's clear that she was a household pet somewhere. What should I do with it? What are my odds of finding it's owner?

Give it something to block, blockatiels love blocking things. Honestly, though, there's probably no way to tell where it came from.

I used to have a blockatiel, that's similar to how I got her. She flew into a friend's garage, and he was scared of her, so I took her.

Put up signs (close to your house, maybe she didn't fly too far - or in the local newspaper) with your phone # saying that you found an exotic bird (don't give too much info, let the caller give details so you know it's theirs).
If nothing shows up, it's yours for the taking ;p

Take it to the humane society.
