So, my pet tarantula (we call her Charlotte) has been pretty active these past few days.

She covered an entire section of her cage with a wall of web, as if preparing for winter.

Do you think the amount that she spins like this is somehow linked to the kind of winter we will have?

Moar liek preparing for behbehs. Or loading up on the sperm. Your spider is either ready to lay her eggs, is a male and making sperm webs, or is making a molt mat.

This anon has it down. Either it's a mature male making a sperm web (pic related), it's either male or female and making a mat on the ground to molt on, or if it's shaped like a bowl sort of, then it's a female preparing to make an egg sac. A lot of times females will close off a section of their tank with a "wall" of webbing to keep other critters out while she gets down to business.
