Pigs Anonymous
Anon wants piggies!

You know, if cared for properly, pigs can be clean, loving, loyal pets. Plus, they're just cute.

Please, no mutilated, butchered, cooked, or otherwise dead pigs. You'll make anon cry.

Pic very much related.

Piglets seem cool but once they grow up everyone I have seen with one lets it get disgustingly fat. Its like having a pet Newman around

Except they can't be Jewish! Oh, snap!
We have a pig, and if you don't feed them constantly, they won't get really fat. Ours lives outside, because for some reason my mom didn't want an animal in the house that's willing and capable of moving the furniture around.
Protip: Pigs love a blanket. Seriously. A friend of mine did have an inside pig, and he'd carry this blanket around with him all the time. He'd lay down and roll up in the blanket to go to sleep. Ours, living outside, kept pulling the tarp off of her shelter to do the same thing with, to the point that we had to rebuild it out of sheet metal. They'll bury themselves completely in hay with just the nose sticking out if its cold outside.
TL;DR= Pigs are awesome.

No, it'd get wet. We give her a bale of hay in the winter, which serves the same purpose (that being the pig buries herself in it with only the nose sticking out). This isn't a huge hog or anything, it's a pot bellied pig.

awww...poor widdle piggy gets cold! Does she have a shelter? I had a pig when I was a kid, not a pot bellied but the kind we eat (not me though, never after owning such a great animal).

The pig doesn't get cold, we build a shelter out of sheet metal. So there's a pig that lives in a tin shack in my back yard.

Pigs are awesome pets, but make sure that you don't get one that's going to grow into a 300Lb hog. While still awesome, I don't think I'd want to live in the same house as an animal that weighs more than me and can rearrange everything. If you want to keep it inside, a bug tray full of river stones with some food sprinkled in it gives them something to root around in. They also make this ball with holes in it that you put food in, and the pig will roll it around until every single grain of food is gone. They love food, and are very easily motivated by it. I don't know if there's some kind of special food you give them, but we feed ours regular pig food, and an apple every morning. She also loves dog biscuits.
