I'm thinking about capturing one of these daddy long legs spiders and then releasing them in my room to keep as a pet.

I've got sort of a mosquito problem so thats what has inspired me to do this, but also I just think the fact that spiders can be beneficial in the household is awesome.

Chances are good you already have a few, you just can't see them. Unfortunately their webs catch the worst dust of any arachnid, honestly, ten times as much dust as mosquitoes. Issues arise if you have allergies. Also, don't know if they could actually eat mosquitoes. You might be dirtying up the place for no reason. You might be better off getting some surface spray and spraying every centimetre of your fly screens. Works for me, and my issues are with sandflies.

that will make your house look trashy. Even if you explain to people why the spiders are there, it'll still look shitty to have those spindly things all around clogging up the room with webs. It'll just sounds like a dumb excuse to not jam a broom in your corners.
Just purchase some actual anti-mosquito things. You certainly can't rely on the spiders to eat them, and you shouldn't expect it of them.

op here

I was just gonna put it in my bedroom and I dont have company that I care what they think of my house ever.

I thought eating flying bugs is what spiders do.

*shrug* well whatever

Those things don't weave webs.
And your house is most likely too dry for them.
And you'll need shitloads of them to have any effect on mosquitos.

Tl;dr. Bad idea.

I don't know where you went to Spider-School, OP, but that is no daddy long-leg...

IT IS A BROWN RECLUSE, AND YOU HAVE TO KILL IT BEFORE IT TURNS YOUR FLESH NECROTIC.

Jumping spiders are frickin' neat. They're the only spider I've encountered that doesn't flee when you approach, and the fact that when you lean in close to look at them they'll actually look up at you and stare back at you.

The way they wave their front two legs is cool too.

Also they can circle strafe.
