So apparently one of my redneck hillbilly white trash sugar gliders gave birth... But I think it wasn't fully developed before it detached from the nipple and crawled out of the bag because it didn't have any hair and more closely resembled that giant fucking demon thing that chased Eddie Murphy around at the end of The Golden Child... Long story short, they cannibalized the poor fucker from the head down. :-/ Does this happen frequently? I was hoping these things were a little more developed in the cortexal area, but the longer I have them the more I'm starting to feel they're just white trash redneck hillbilly sugar gliders. Thanks.

No, they've just got a white trash redneck hillbilly owner who irresponsibly lets them breed without knowing his ass from his elbow.

whats up with sugar glider owners and that?

i've known two of them personally who also said their sugar gliders have babies(not surprisingly, the joey in both cases were eaten) as if its nothing.

i love how on this board anything that happens no matter what, is because the pets owner is stupid. Shit happens people, dont be such pricks.

this shit wouldn't happen if OP used some common sense.

SEX MAKES BABIES?!

Are there an abundance of sugar-gliders in animal shelters in some parts of the country?

Well it's a matter of either blaming the pet owner or blaming the sugar glider.

And no offense to OP, but I'm betting the sugar glider's cuter.

Rodents of most types will cannibalise their litter, and rabbits will refuse to raise their litter in the event that a human witnesses the birthing process/nesting place/the litter itself before weaned. Dogs and cats don't have as much of a problem because they've been domesticated longer.

This is why nesting hutches for rabbits include a blocked area, and owners are told not to look in at least until 4 weeks after.

Except, it's very difficult to not be exposed to the damned thing. So yeah, it's pretty much a hit-and-miss thing and generally not the fault of hte owners.
