ITT: How you got your cat/dog.

Cat: Craigslist
Dog: found him
>> Anonymous
     File :-(, x)
Cat: Found a litter of kittens under our patio. The mother never showed up after we found them. So we put them up for adoption, keeping one. He has a corked tail. He's a really good kitty.

Python: When I was 17, I wanted to buy an exotic pet. It was a close tie between deciding between a ball python or a bearded dragon. I did a little research on both, then decided on the python and read up on them more; I didn't want this to be a I-didn't-know-what-I-was-doing-so-I-gave-it-away pet. I bought her with my own money and everything. She was also the first pet that I owned. Everything else either wasn't my decision or a family pet. Her name is Shasta. She's almost 4 years old now.

Pic related. It's them.

Cat 1: Found her as a stray kitten. Was a little rough but now she's loyal and great.
Cat 2: I was pulling out of the driveway and my friend told me to stop and I noticed I almost ran over a cat. Found the owner and she said she'll put her up for adoption and I asked if I could have her.

and recently a Puppy:
Someone I know online who lived nearby gave me him.

I don't even have to look for my fucking pets.

My two cats were adopted from an animal shelter, and my dog was bought from a breeder.

Usually I wouldn't buy from a breeder, but the dog was a runt and the children of the family were assholes so I took pity. Awesome decision, as she turned out great.

Cat1- Found in a bucket outside our doorstep

Cat2- Found in a parking lot when he was about 6 weeks old.

Cat 3- Rescued from shelter

Cat4- Inherited

Dog- Shelter

Cat 1 = He was being attacked by other cats and I pretty much broke up the fight. They were strays. I got two of them and gave one away.
Cat 2 = I saw my cat Oscar (Cat 1) playing with a stray female so I took her in. She had three kittens a week ago so:

Cat 3
Cat 4
Cat 5

Also, cats are very easy to find. Stray or get on Craigslist and pick up a free kitten.. which I did once and gave to my mom.

dog/ was looking in shelters for months w/ my family and we just couldnt find the right dog (we wanted something that would stay at about 20lbs). one day my mother and i went out for lunch and we stopped into the pet store(i know a fucking pet store! but just wait it gets better) neer by for turtle food, and there she was, a mix breed Dachshund. we took her out to look at her, she was a little older (4 months) and they had gotten her from a breeder that had no idea what went wrong w/ the litter (they later found a rouge un-fixed Beagle) but the pet store was going to bring her to a shelter becouse she wasnt getting bought and she was silly looking so we took her for 100$$ shes the best dog we have ever had. shes 8 1/2

Cat/ a friend of mine just brought her to my house as a 4 week old kitten becouse her boyfriend was going to toss them and the mother out becouse he was pissed she had kittens...fucking irresponsible PRICK!shes now a year and a half and an awesome little baby:)

Turtles/ one was stolen from a friend of the family that had 3 box turtles in a ten gallon tank i was 7 and even i knew it was wrong, so i put her under my shirt and showed my parents when i got home... we still have her now 14 years later:) the other one was given to me by an aunt that got her from some asshole kids that set her tail on fire... they both were almost dead when we got them... and they are now nice "fat" healthy girls:) there names are spot and sparky:) (i was 7!!!)

Cat: this dumb bitch lets her cat roam the neighborhood, I found her once missing a chunk of her fucking front of her body and she told me I could have her because she didn't think she was a good pet owner. She told me she had three calls because people thought she was lost (when she usually walks home), one from a nearby highway and another from animal control shit who thought she was a stray.

Mom's rabbit. Got turned loose by some white trash family up the block, stayed alive and half-seen in the neighborhood for a couple weeks, then hid under her Chevy Suburban. She caught it with a fishing net and dumped it in the garbage can, then went and bought a cage and a bunch of rabbit fodder. Then she calls me and says "We have a new pet. It's black and white and makes rabbit shit."

Buns is about five now. Totally tame, and she has the run of the house.

Cat - Someone pulled into the neighborhood and threw him out of the car (kitten small enough to stand in the palm of your hand). Watched him go from neighbor to neighbor begging for food only to be ran away. He finally came to me meowed and just laid at my feet looking pitiful. I took him inside, gave him a can of tuna and he's been with me ever since (going on three years).

I won my rabbit at a carnival that annually visits my town. All of my buddies spent about twenty dollars trying to get "the ball in the cup". It took me one fucking try. So we all had rabbits, and within the next month, I was the only one who still had a live rabbit that hadn't been killed, eaten, etc.
Ever since that carnival in March '04, we have had him. We couldn't decide on a name, so we just call him "Mr. Bunny".

We keep him in a large pin outside most of the time where it is regularly in the mid-upper 90's. He has a frozen water bottle he hides up against and a fan, not to mention a cardboard box he hides in.

Yeah, aside from his regular meal. I feed him clover regularly. Plus I tend to buy him yogurt chips. He really loves those.

Milky and sugary products are not good for rabbits. They need HAY and tons of it. They can have veggies but fruits and carrots just in small quantities, as treats. No seeds.
Give him small slices of apples and bits of banana instead of yougurt chips.

I got my cat from a farm for free with a huge "free kittens" sign out front when I was a kid. We got our family dog as a stray wandering around a trailer park, and my mother's dog was bought from a breeder.

Funny how the only one that turned out to be a total ass was the pure bred. Mutts ftw.

We found my cat. My dad kept trying to throw out of the garage and put the door down, but she'd run back to me, trip the laser, and the door would go back up. Eventually, my dad gave up and we kept her. (don't think my dad is mean or something; it's just we already had a cat and he didn't want another one. He loves the cat now.)

My cat is really my neighbor's... they were kind of spazzy with her.. like they'd either ignore her completely.... or they'd chase her around and pick her up and try to make her eat her own tail.... they also have another cat and a dog.... when there went to europe...[rich bitches] they left the other cat and their dog in our care.... they said "don't bother with that one she's just an anti social bitch cat".... so we didn't.... then she ran out of food and decided to come to our house... we were told to just let her be so we didn't let her in... she sat on our balcony for 3 weeks....even after they got back.... now she's our cat.....
