Haha. I used to when I was younger. Did your cat chase away any dogs?

Lol, No he just gets big and hisses then forgets about it. Unfortunately my dog in the picture is scared of everything and she usually rolls over and plays dead when it thinks it's in trouble or scared.

i tried to walk my cat, but every time i put the lease on, he just slumps over and refuses to stand up.

for a moment, OP, I glanced and thought your cat's name was Adventure.

/r/ OP's cat be renamed.

I take my cat out for walks but she has a harness not a collar. Mostly she browses the grass, nibbles greens then sits down, rolls around and stares at me. When she has sat or laid down five times then it becomes a carry and we come back indoors.
Recently I've been taking her to Petsmart when I go pick up squirrel food and litter. Everyone remarks how well-behaved she is sitting in the baby seat of the cart. I am amused when we go past the birds and small mammals and she starts eyeing them like a buffet.

I tried, but taking cats out for a walk on a leash is more like taking them out for a forced drag. Mine dug in their front paws and were generally pissed. Hopefully your cats enjoy it, mine did not.

Oh yeah, cats can often wiggle their way out of the harness too so be careful.

/r/ how to train cats to go for walks.

It's advantageous to start them off as kittens. First just get them used to the harness with nothing attached to it. Then get them used to the harness with the leash on it. etc etc.

I have a cat that will do the same, I would just drag him around sideways on the wood floor for many lulz. Don't worry, I wasn't dragging him by the neck, had a harness.

Op here Cats name is Eskimo O_O

I only take the cat out when there's snow on the ground. Otherwise, he eats grass until he gets sick.

Same here. My cat just can't stand the collar, and the only way to make him stop chewing his own neck is by removing the collar. It gives me the creeps when he tried to bite the collar, it sure look like he was going to break his neck or something.

one of them took to it very well and stayed out most of the afternoon

our cat goes with us on walks everyday without a damn leash, we usually walk at least 2km, and I have to carry him back a lot :) (coz he gets sorta tired, still a small kitah)

Yes, I have one cat who walks like a dog on the leash (she is very doglike in manner anyway, so it's fitting). She will walk alongside me or my fiance and will greet anyone who comes along. She tries to scare off any dogs that get too close, and then tries to climb us if she can't scare them off. Her nails get trimmed frequently, though, so she can't climb very well. I use a harness because most cat collars come with safety devices that allow the collar to come off if pulled hard enough, and I don't really want my cat to take off on her own.

How hard is it to train cats on a harness? Especially after about a year of no harness? I'm gonna be moving to a city soon and I don't want him to be an outdoor cat, so I wanna get him on a harness so he (and I) still manages to get some exercise.

Pic related, as he's the kitty in question.

Never tried to walk any of my cats, just seems odd.

One of my mother's friends goes on walks with her cat, with no leash. The cat just followers her close and will do some exploring. She also will carry it for some of the way.

I walk my cats as well but i use a chest harness that securely holds them tight without choking them if they run. They also feel way more comfortable and dont complaint at all. I suggest you (or anybody that wants to walk their cat) use a harness.

I thought so too. Can't decide if I like the name.

your cat has hooker boots.

i have one cat who begs and pleads to go outside, but i live in an apartment. so when the weather is warmer i will invest in a harness and take him on many cat adventures.
