So /an/, I was thinking about getting a Timberwolf as a pet. What do you guys think?
>> Anonymous
Great idea. The best way to socialize them is to take a couple raw steaks and rub them vigorously all over your body, and then go snuggle with them.

Isn't that illegal, making wildlife into pets?

PLEASE don't feed the troll.

Hey /an/
I was thinking about getting a lion as a pet. What do you guys think?
And what kind of preparations do I have to make to keep one?
>> Anonymous
Funfact: I know people who breed Timbers for population rehabilitation.

They're actually amazingly sweet animals, if you know what you're doing. One played with their seven year old kids from the time it was a puppy, and he was housebroken and everything.

...Someone stole him, though, and they prolly' got maimed in the long run...

Truth. If they grow up thinking you're part of their pack, they're not going to kill you.

Wolfs cant be domesticated and even hybrid wolfs still keep their aggressiveness. If you want a tame wolf then get a damn dog cause that's what dogs are! Unless you are a professional, know what you are doing and have enough land then animal isnt going to be happy.
>> Anonymous
I wonder how many generations of selective breeding it would take to produce a domesticated wolf free of any genes from dogs.

For some years I've dreamed of a "pet" wolverine. *sigh* I'd keep a bottle of reindeer blood right inside the front door and a sign right outside saying something-or-other about Jesus. ...And when the Jehova's witnesses and mormons come I'd splash 'em and ring the dinner bell.
I just love them rabid weasel-kin.

Dogs are domesticated wolfs ya dumbass.
>> tigerfeather
Weeeeeell.

Current rabies vaccines aren't usually effective on wolves, so you wouldn't be able to be up to state/county requirements for registration. They don't always work with wolf hybrids either.

That's the ((lawful)) main reason you can't have a wolf as a pet. Not safe enough.
