And here's a new addition to slime mold predators:
Agathidium rumsfeldi, a slime mold beetle. Agathidium rumsfeldi was named after ex-defense secretary Rumsfeld, A. bushi after President George W. Bush, & A. cheneyi after Vice President Dick Cheney. And by the way, Anonymous>>55091was wrong in criticizing the above posters. Slime mold is the correct spelling in America. The British spell it mould. Sure, the Brits invented the language, but their usage is supplanted by their former colonies in the New World and their dominating masters.
Anyway, I found it fitting that the neo-cons of the Bush regime were used as the namesakes of these newly discovered slime mold beetles.

Actually, Americans speak the correct form of the English language. Through the sanctifying crucible of the American spirit, the English language was purified- transformed into the shape which it was always destined to take. It's like a surgeon performing corrective surgery. That is why British English is now known as "Primitive English", while American English is now called "Modern English".

Actually, many americans aren't even aware that they speak english and think they speak a language called "american"

So instead of spelling 'cheque' the way it was meant to be spelled, it's considered modern to spell it 'check' where it can be confused with another word?

Real modern there.

And they are both pronounced the same way, regardless of the spelling. Your point?

OMG 'CHECK' AS IN 'WRITING A CHECK' IS THE SAME AS 'CHECK' AS IN 'CHECK MARK'

FUCK I SO CONFUSED WHATEVER WILL I DO

WE CAN'T HAVE TWO WORDS THAT ARE SPELLED THE SAME BUT MEAN DIFFERENT THINGS

WE SHOULD SPELL IT THE FAG WAY AND ADD A LOT OF 'Q'S!

You just admitted you get confused when two words are spelled the same, but are used to mean different things.

I don't even have to insult you now, you did all the work for me you party-pooper.

When I was kid every time I saw american people on TV I tought they were retarted brits or something. I can´t help it, but average american looks somehow degenerated, mix-bred and obese, if I compare them to average european. Maybe I just don´t understand their culture or something.
>> Anonymous
Americans have a culture of their own now? I thought they just adopted parts they liked from other countries.

What many people fail to realize is that certain American accents (New England accents and Southern accents especially) sound more like the English spoken in 17th and 18th century England. And ALL of American English has retained old grammar rules and words that English people today have all but done away with.

Some would say American English sucks because it hasn't evolved with English English (lol, whut), yet some purists would say it's awesome because it's preserved a lot features that may have been lost to time.

What say you, /an/?

I say, who gives a fuck? Language is constantly changing and evolving. Even with grammar nazis, in a few 100 years English will look pretty different.

Though I still like my writing to look pretentious enough so I spell it "mould" :D
