Hey /an/,

My dog ripped off part of her toenail. She's not limping, or whimpering, and she lets me take a look at her paw for short periods of time. She's not acting any different than usual, either.

Should I take her to the vet and get them to look at it, or should I just try to fix it myself with water and flour and see if that works?

Pic related--dog, Cocoa, in question.

i don't think mixing water and flour would protect against infection.

The best course of action would be staying online and fapping to 4chan since veterinarians don't know their ass from their elbows.
GO TO A FUCKING VET, DESU

You don't mix flour and water. You clean the nail with water, and possibly some disinfectant, and then you dip the nail in flour to stop the bleeding.

Do you go to the doctor everytime you have a minor cut that can be fixed with some neosporin and a bandaid? NO?! OMFG U IDIOT!

Seriously guys, this is not a big problem. Just wash your dog's toenail, keep her inside as much ass possible for the next few days, and maybe dab some neosporin on it.

OP here.
I just took her to the vet and it's Lupus. They euthanized her and gave me the collar. Now I'm really sad because I didn't take her sooner ;__;

At any pet store they should have a product called "quik stopper" or something to that extent. It's used for when you accidentally cut the dog's nail too short, but it sounds like it'd be fine in this aspect too.

So long as it doesn't get infected it's no big deal.
