Anyone kept koi? im thinkin about building a koi pond and would like to think what /an/ thought about them.

I think they're awesome! My aunts and grandma all used to have koi until they moved. Make sure birds like herons, or animals like raccoons don't get them. For some reason, those particular animals seem to be attracted to very expensive fish... we lost quite a few to stupid herons.

I remember space being a big deal because they grow so big. And filtration. I can't remember what kind of "special care" they needed though, I'm sorry.
