My Dog ate some fucking Turkey Bones and almost died. Vet bill used up my whole paycheck.

Man I'm sorry to hear, but glad you got your dog looked after in time.

Most bones are dangerous, even large ones, as if the dog splinters them and consumes a splinter, you could be dealing with some seriously bad shit.

Chocolate, as you probably know, is also poisonous to dogs. So are mushrooms, coffee and cocoa, onions, and grapes. Obviously the degree in which any of these things will effect your dog depends on your dog - we had a golden who would beg for onion and we would give her a little with no side effect. She was the only one of our bunch who lived without health problems until 15 - maybe she was able to resist the toxic effects of onion?

Things with Xylitol in them, like chewing gum, are also seriously bad for dogs.

Anyways, best of luck that your doggie lives a happy and safe life from here on out. Hope the info helps.

you can't give cats and dogs cooked bones, raw bones are fine.

>Turkey bones = poisonous

If I'd strangle your dog, would that make me poisonous as well?

Some people recommend feeding raw bones I think, but I don't know a lot about it. Are there any benefits?

Given that stray dogs can survive on garbage I'd say that there are probably things that they can eat but we can't.

One of my dogs died because a large bone blocked up his... um... butt :\ laugh if you want. He was a sweet dog though. I've never fed a dog a raw bone since then.

Are you sure you're feeding your dog actual chocolate and not just chocolate-flavored foods? There's a big difference and your dog will either get sick or die if you feed him actual chocolate.

I fed my dogs bones for fifteen years. They were very large dogs, though.

Feed your dog DOG FOOD for fuck's sake.

If you think he deserves a treat give him some boneless poultry or lean beef or even fish meat.

Dogs can chew on beef and pork bones but it's better to just give them rawhide.
