>>241282 What about ants and aphids/mealybugs? Ants keep them to produce food and protect them from predators.
We keep many animals to produce food, we protect them from predators and many diseases, we give them water, food and protection. The life of those animals would be much more harsh in the wild (hungry, thirst, cold/hot, predators, diseases...) we don't indiscriminately kill them that would be stupid.
We as humans have a good life in the civilization and forget that for the animals the life is harsh and in the most of the times short, they don't have supermarkets, they don't have vacines nor artificial protection from predators. Most of the time they die before reach puberty.
Try to live in the middle of a florest filled with predators and parasites without technology, agriculture, weapons, farms, tools, markets, doctors. That's the life of the wild animals, they have parasites eating them from inside, predators ambushing, low food, you can't take a day sick, if you rest you die, you will have children by dozens but only 4 or 5 will survive to adulthood, all the others will die from diseases, killed by predators, or any other causes.
Life for us is easy because we have a civilization and technology, wild animals don't.
