Is it a good thing or a bad thing that grizzly bears and polar bears are producing viable hybrid offspring?

If the offspring are actually viable, then the only thing remaining to make the two species one species is the natural ability to mate, which in this case means that they'd have to live in the same ecotope. And with the way the icecaps are melting, polar bears will be moving south and grizzly bears will be moving north, and the portions of their ranges that overlap will only grow.

This could be the salvation of both species!
