What was not specified in the article was that the cats have to be exposed to ultraviolet light to be able to emit fluorescent light.
You're giving cancer to your cats, only to make them glow for a short period of time (when exposed to UV light). What's more, you're most likely exposing yourself to UV lights in the process. Let's all have cancer!
Chances are, if your cat has cancer, he will most likely purposely try to trip you, in hopes of getting killed in the process.
On another note, GloFish. Not UV dependant, they emit green fluorescent light. They're currently being sold as decoration fish.
