Snails tooth !!Oo43raDvH61
I know this sounds a little silly, but can you please give me some tips about caring for garden snails? I found one in my room after I left my window open during a recent heavy shower and I've grown quite attached to the little bugger (he chewed holes all over my biology homework giving me quite possibly the best excuse ever). I can't bring myself to toss him back in the garden because I know it's inevitable the local thrushes will get him.

I've had him for two days now - the first day I put him in a pint glass with a dribble of water, a strawberry and some lettuce, but that was too small so he's currently in a large tupperware box again with a little water for moisture and some lettuce. Aside from puncutred cellophane, I've covered half the box up with tinfoil for shade and left him by the window.

Will this be sufficient? I noticed he is particularly mucusy and bubbles quite often. Is this normal?

Salt. They love it.

I kept a couple in a small tupperware box, put some dirt in to cover the bottom and chucked in some leaves and fruit rinds. I think as long as they have some where to hide and the box is kept moist then its all good.

They don't need any kind of light or heat. Use an easy to clean container. Feed it apple slices and other easy to eat fruits and leafy type veggies. Provide a washed cuttlefish bone, or powder some of it's food with reptile calcium dust. Use some kind of clean substrate that will hold in moisture such as coconut fiber. You can get it in dry brick form at many pet stores.

Is "clean" really neccessary? I mean its not as if they have been bred in captivity.

Can spiders eat snails? I don't mean the huge fuckoff ones, just the normal house spiders.
