Okay /an/ this is my tank. I'm looking to get a new pet (a ball python was in there at the time of the pic, a corn snake resides in it now.)

I have the tank, humidity measurer and thermomemnter, heating pad, substrate, two hides. I'm looking to get a pet that is a little more cuddly, friendly, and fun then a snake.

Or any suggestions at all would be good, reptile, small mammal, frog even. I prefer exotic pets, and the whole "cuddle factor" i can ignore if it's a cool reptile. NO gerbils, bad expeirence.

NOTE: Tank has been cleaned up and prettied up since this pic was taken. Like i said i have two hides now, a water bowl, digital thermometers, and one of those decorative wallpaper things that wrap around.

I hope you're leaving the AT-AT in.

Personally, I like fat tailed geckos. Just as mellow as leopards, but with a really wild look that a lot of people flip out over.

I'm curious, though, what kind of bad experience you had with gerbils. Shit like that tends to be, you know.. a user error.

Get two or three mice. Easy cleanup, small, no smell if you clean the cage once a week, and if you play with them often, they're easy to hold and very social.

People talk shit on mice, but those people usually have no experience with them outside of snake food. Mice live about two years and their lifespan is really their only drawback (although it can be a good thing if you don't want to commit to something that lives a lot longer).

They -say- the little beasts live only two years.

I have a pair and the little freaks are three and a half years old, fat and healthy the both of 'em.

Leopord geckos are nice because they poop only in one area, so they're rather clean; although they dont have the cool wall climbing ability of other geckos.

Bearded dragons are very docile, and they have the cool beard.

Crested Geckos are cool, and super easy to care for. Way less than a lot of reptiles. They're small, so you could have several... with lots of branches and vines for them to climb. They don't need a heating pad, though.

Ferrets or rats wouldn't like living in that.
