Is it possible to be allergic to one breed of cat?
I have an egyptian mau that my boyfriend is allergic to. Thing is, he's not allergic to other cats. Any idea what's up with that?
Also, my cat (10) is very anti social around strangers, what is a good way to warm him up to people?

well there are people who are allergic to fur and those who are allergic to the oil and dandruff. I looked at a hairless indoor cat for a while but then i found out i was actually allergic to the dander and not the hair, so it doesn't really matter.

I get this, however I suspect that it is due to some cats having finer fur or something. Some cats are not a problem, but my freinds short haired cats set me off every time.

as for the contact, introduce him to the cat more and they need to get to know each other

Nobody is allergic to the fur, it's the dander, or more specifically, a protein in their saliva. Just get some allergy medication. I take it every day, and I used to be really allergic to the cat. Now I can pet her as much as I want.

No breeds. They're all just domesticated felines.

He hates your cat and tries to get rid of it by faking allergy

It's the stuff on the fur that people are most commonly allergic to. Not the actual fur.
