This be teh sonic dog. He is very hyper. JR usually need a lot of love and attention srsly. He sleeps in my bed everynight under the covers and his head on the pillow. Very smart just make sure you have the time and energy to run em. He broke his leg when he was little so he doesnt jump like most JR do, but that doesnt slow him down at all.

They're hyper, bark at everything, have a high-pitched, annoying-ass bark, are prone to inbreeding(for breed purity), whine when you don't look at what they're barking at, etc, etc.

tl;dr
a quote from a random woman at the vet I go to, I think it sums the breed up quite nicely:
"Careful, he doesn't like strangers, and hasn't had his canine prozac today."
I shit you not.

They do it a LOT more often than most other species.

I have a Jack Russell and I must say, he is annoying as all hell. He eats anything that isnt bolted to the ground, and if it is he just gnaws on it; he barks at anything for no appearant reason; and he craves more attention then 4 5-year olds put together. When he finally calms down though, he's an alright dog, but that's only 10% of the time.

my uncle has a jack russell terrier named nugget. it chases grizzly bears and he is pretty much the coolest dog ever. he also knows how to shut doors. he is older now, so he has mellowed out a lot. i guess being outside getting in fights and peeing on stuff all the time is pretty exhausting.

I have two. Theyre very clever and pick up things quite easily, they tend to be very mischievous and loud though(usaly when your not paying them enough attention)

My friend has a Jack Russell and she's the cutest, sweetest, soppiest damn thing you've ever met. They tend to have a bad rep and I'll admit - when I heard she was getting one I considered visiting her less. Thankfully, Buffy is a particularly sweet JR.

Lies. I have a short-haired Jack Russell and he sheds everywhere. Worse than our long-haired dog.

My Jack is one of the short-legged variety (called Parson Russells now) and he does have a tendency to be hyper and naughty sometimes, but he is a very sweet, affectionate and intelligent dog. I think he's more laid-back than most Jack Russells, but he's nothing like the dogs in some of the horror stories I've read.

He's nothing compared to our chihuahua-terrier mix, though. Now HE is a terrorist.

my moms jrt growls at everyone if he's near her. Sometimes he's nice, some times he's fn crazy. He has worse moodswings than a fat angry black 8month pregnant mother. It's hi

That sounds more like overly protective than having a mood swing.

Wow, someone else who knows about the Parson's change.

And yes, most shorthaired dogs tend to shed more than longhaired dogs because of their hair's short growth period.

Jack Russells can be pretty crazy and hyper....I've heard of them referred to ((in jest)) as Crack Russells....>>;;;
