Dear /an/,
I rescued this baby sugar glider a few weeks ago from pretty gross conditions in a pet shop. I bought her all by herself, so she doesn't have any other gliders keeping her company.

I think she's dehydrated but she's way too ADD to drink anything (water, apple juice, sugar glider acacia gum formula) for more than about 6 seconds before she moves on to do something else.

I know she can't be happy all by herself in her cage so I keep her with me as much as I can - even if it just means she's sleeping in my sweatshirt in class. She's pretty well-behaved.

There aren't any exotic vets in the area. Is there anything I can do to give her health a boost? She's already getting a good brand name food and that formula I mentioned earlier.

in b4 give her fruit, give her insects... She gets the best of everything.

I just wanna see her perk up a bit and be more active at night. Oh, and they said she was about 4 months old when at the pet shop, so that would put her at about 5 months.

D'AWWWWWW.

Give her a wheel to run in.

Well... If you want her to perk up more at night, let her have a good sleep during the day and don't carry her around to noisy places like classrooms. Just leave her be at home in a nice dark box or something so she can get some real rest.

Other than that, I don't know how to help you.

Hang a waterbottle like what you would use for a hamster or a mouse on the cage for her and let her drink water at her own leisure.

She will be chronically depressed without other gliders.

There isn't much as far as supplements you can give her to give her a health boost.

fyi >She gets the best of everything isn't true if you're giving her a "sugar glider" kibble type food. As much as pet stores and the food manufactures would like you to believe that it's ok, it just isn't. There is no such thing as a good kibble type food for sugar gliders yet.

She needs mealworms and/or crickets, not the black crickets, if she will eat them. Also, you should get a powdered calcium designed for reptiles and mix a small amount of it with plain yogurt and give that to her every once in a while. Sugar gliders are prone to calcium deficiencies.

Feed her a high protein, low fat diet. Don't ever feed her cat food, (believe it or not some people do this), Don't ever feed her Chicken, chicken has too much phosphorus. If you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask, I have 5 gliders of my own.

You probably want to make a little pouch for your sugarglider since they're marsupials. You can wear the pouch around your neck while the little beast naps there against your warm, fat body or between your delicious tits. They are nocturnal and I don't know how well they adapt to becoming diurnal so they interact with humans.

They don't, unfortunately. You can wake them up during the day to play, but they really aren't that interested in playing and will try to seek out a place to hide and sleep from you. Imagine being woken up at like 3 am and a giant is all like I will play with you and love you and hold you and squeeze you and you will be mine and I will call you George.

Also the light hurts their eyes, they hate the sun, and too much of it can kill them.

Meaning, OP saved her from shitty conditions by buying her.

stupid Americunts. Enjoy your shattered biodiversity and numerous introduced species.

Since the petstore sold one, they will buy more to live in the same horrible conditions.

I want to lick the balls of your sugar glider

That is absolutely correct. If you see lots of poor sick looking animals at the pet store do not attempt to save them, that is like the worst thing you can do because you're only supporting the shitty pet store that can't take care of the animals to begin with.
