maine coons used to be my favorite cat breed, until i learned about norwegien forest cats
>>66456Your maine coon seems to have a fur malfunction.
Anyone know if it's absolutely necessary to brush these cats to maintain their coats? I might buy one, but I'm worried about grooming maintenance.
>>66575Yea I heard you have to brush them regularly. It shouldnt be too bad tho. Just brush the cat once a day while he/she is sitting in your lap
>>66577That's strange. I thought maine coon was a "natural" longhair breed. Those usually can take care of their hair on their own.
I know a family with two of these cats. One is called Martin Luther King, the other is called Nelson Mandela.
I thought you were supposed to brush longhaired cats regularly anyway. I brush mine when she's shedding, but she constantly tries to bite the brush. Good thing the cat only sheds twice a year.
if you get a cat that doesn't know how to take care of itself then you don't have a cat... you have a cat-related subspecies of a humantherefore, ownership is void...

>>66449jesus christ that thing is creeping me the fuck out!! that tiny head... ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!
she's not a maine coon (but she is fluffy!); we thinks she's a norwegian forest cat
I live in Maine and I never see these damn things.
>>66584Bullshit. Also protip: grooming reduces the amount of hair around the house (and some cats REALLY drop a lot of hair around).

Up in the north, we like our cats big and strong, so they can pull our sleds.
>>67175Of course they never pull them when we'd want them to, or to the direction we'd want them to, or at the speed we'd want them to... but damnit, they can pull those sleds.
