Well generally,

Long fins = male
Short fins = female

For short finned strains or others like that you'd jsut have to look for ovipositirs in the female.

That being said, you CANNOT keep a female and a male together in such a small bowl- they'd rip each other apart. You need at least a 10 gallon for them, and even then there's an involved process that by the end you'd remove the female again anyway.

Just keep him by himself, he's happier that way.

>>250812
Then wtf did you breed them for? The only acceptable answer here is either A) the female was pregnant when you got her, B) they are from breeding lines and you are a breeder looking for good genetic health and temperament, or C) you're a retard who bought one of each sex and thought they looked lonely and let them "play" together.

There is no reason to breed when there are already hundreds of rats in shelters.
>> Anonymous
>>250822
Is that buck you posted their father? I see a gaggle of little tan-and-white Dutch mice in that litter.
>> Anonymous
>>251099

You say "either" and give three choices, huh. So long as they are willing to raise all the rats in the event they can't give them away, what's it to you that the poster wants to breed their rats? Rats aren't exactly like cats and dogs that live for up to 10+ years anyway. Out of that bunch, at least three of them will succumb within 2 years of a tumour, and another 2 will just die off within the year.
Don't get your panties in a twist.

>>251137
No he's not, I don't know who the daddy is as the mother came pregnant from the pet store. The momma was black with a white dot between her eye and white belly.

I got totally boned with Chippy's litter as 10 of them were boys and 4 were girls, sigh. Trying to find homes for the boys now, so far no luck D:

Anyone in NW Pennsylvania want a boy mouse? :)

zelda and cheeto. i think its pretty obvious to tell who is who. both girls. cheeto is pyschotic and hates everyone, refuses to be touched/ be near anyone, etc. zelda is the opposite and friendly and likes to chill with people. they are my halloween kitties.

I'm a breeder, and the two parents are from another breeder. I hadn't had rats for about a year (My last mischief finally completely died out last year around this time) and I wanted rats again.

P.S. I only get rats with good temperament and health, I'm even pickier about those I choose to actually breed.

Sugar Gliders, cutest fuckers in the world, but I don't recommend them as pets. Have 5, this one is Papa, cause he's the dad, got 4 others named Momma cause she's the momma, Houdini cause she escapes, Sugar, cause she's sweet, and brother, cause that's what he is, their brother.
>> Thing2
>>252839
why wouldn't you recomend them?
>> LokI
     File :-(, x)
>>252842

Because they can take a year to tame, and when I say tame, I mean they are still a wild animal that prefers the company of it's own kind rather than humans. Before you tame them they bite and growl and scratch. You cannot litter train a sugar glider and they will poop and pee on you, sometimes out of malice, one of our sugar gliders does this any time you pick her up. They also require a varied diet, the "sugar glider pellets" they sell in pet stores do not meet their nutritional requirements. Their diet isn't really that difficult but it requires that you cut up fresh food for them every night, much more of a pain in the ass then just pouring a bowl of pellets for them. They also throw their food, we cut up their food into nearly bite sized pieces, because if you don't, they will throw it when they are done, and when I say they throw it I mean, in the morning you find food like 5 feet from the cage. They also are nocturnal, which means they bark and play with each other only at night, and they greatly dislike any bright lights. So yeah, they are not that great of a pet, think of them more like an exotic animal. I can say however they love to cuddle and sleep in pockets, our two youngest gliders love to sleep in our pockets during the day and they are super cute. Also, here is a pic of the brother climbing one of our trees on the patio.

look at my pet it is important because its mine and people need to see how mine it is even though nobody gives a shit about anyone elses pet because they only care about their own and themselves only because everyone is selfcentered
