oh snap, a duck Anonymous
I was fucking around in my yard this morning and noticed a duck wondering around, interested I watched, then it took off when a stray cat came. I ran off the cat and noticed there was a baby duck hiding in the grass.

At first I left it alone, thinking the other duck would come back or maybe the duck was someones pet and it and it's baby duck wandered into my yard. After a few hours I went back and checked and it was still wondering around aimlessly, chirping.

I caught it and brought it inside, at first it was scared, now it's following me around the house and just sits on my lap if I pick it up, instead of trying to get away like it did at first.

No idea what kind of duck it is - it doesn't have its feathers yet but its black with a grey/white spot on each wing, and similar markings on its back.
It's chest is all white, the top of its head is black, and it has white/black stripes on its face around the eyes and a black bill with what seems to be a red tip.

tl; dr

I found a duck, what should I do with it, how do I keep it alive, what do I feed it, or should I just of left it alone and let nature decide if it lives or dies?

Firstly.... AWWWWWW

Secondly... Pics needed for identification

Thirdly... there's like two other threads about ducklings on here just from today, they probably have the info that you need.

Thanks for the replies, and I noticed one other duck thread. Sadly, I don't have a camera and didn't get a good enough look at the bigger duck to see it well enough to ID any markings on it.

I think I'm just going to take it to the vet and see what they tell me, since I don't want to be the cause of its death, however faggoty that sounds.

Could be a muscovy duck. Look anything like this?
