so my friend is going to be moving into my house soon, and he's going to be bringing his rabbit with him. i like his rabbit, so i'm actually pretty excited about it, but i'm a little worried about the smell. when i've been over at his place, i don't notice anything, but that might be because the room where he kept the rabbit was f-ing huge.

and smell-reducing tips/comments from rabbit owners?

Potpourri.

Clean the cage once a week and make sure he is up off the bedding he pees in.

The only time I ever noticed a smell from my rabbit's living area was when the litter box was in dire need of being changed. It was all because of his urine - the rabbit himself did not have any unique odor.

giving the rabbit a few tablespoons of black tea in his water once a week will help with ammonia, but seriously if you keep the bedding clean there shouldn't be a problem

Both of the rabbits I've had slept in their litter boxes instead of the hutches provided for them. Just keep the litter box clean. Maybe put some plastic down around the bottom of the cage were the litter box is. My bunnies both had a tendency to back up too far an land a few poop pellets/drops of pee on the floor behind the cage.
