i got a new fish today and i currently do not have a tank for it, will tomorrow, and so i had to leave my fish in the baggie for a couple hours. when i got back from trying to find an open pet store i noticed that my fish floats upside down... and is constantly stopping.. what should i do? the fish type is the poecilia sphenops (molly)

Where did you get the fish if not from a pet store where you could have easily picked up a tank?

It could be suffocating.

i did get it from a pet store except they didnt have any normal glass-tanks >.< only plastic. i added some warm water and its slowly coming back to life. and ive switched its water with alkaline, i was just wondering that maybe its in shock from being carried, also its pregnant.. i was surprised that i couldnt find any pet-keeping tips on these fish since their apparently easy to take care of.

just gotta pull it out of the water and give it mouth to mouth. works 90% of the time

Are you seriously this fucking stupid? You set up tanks before you get fish, not the other way around. Go get a refund, set up your tank, let it run for 24 hours minimum and THEN.. actually, forget it. Just go return the fish and don't try again.

You have GOT to be trolling. If not, grow a brain before you inflict yourself on any living creatures.

Also, for any other non-trolling idiots that might be reading this.... you can't just put water in there... it has to be de-chlorinated and it has to be the same temp as the water they're already in. Fish are very sensitive, which is why most people can't seem to keep them alive.

why, exactly, did you buy a fish when you don't have a tank set up and cycled?

lol yeah. i shoulda done all that. didnt know that my parents would throw away ALL my fish stuff, just because i wasnt using it. cant blame them though, gotta blame myself. the fish is now alive and well at my cousins...
