So I'm cracking eggs open and I got two yolks in one egg.

Not necessarily unusual but that's the 4th egg in the same carton that's done that.

What's going on here? And can an egg give out two chicks?

just twins.

Huh, would they be conjoined or something...?

If they were alive, methinks that they'd be smaller than other chickens.

if you got two separate yolks that means two separate chicks.
Twins are usually slightly smaller than single children.

That happened to me too, but I only had three in the same carton. Seriously flipped me out!

I had a whole damn carton of the things once! They were the jumbo sized eggs.

It kinda sucked though, because I toss the yolks out anyway...

hens make one yoke a day. if she doesnt lay the next egg laid will contain that days yolk plus the day before.. generally happens when a chicken is deeply freaked out thus to upset to lay the egg

...you failed introductory biology, didn't you?

http://www.enchantedlearning.com/subjects/birds/info/chicken/egg.shtml

Even if the egg were fetilized, neither the yolk or albumin develops into a chick. The germinal disc does.

Get the fuck off 4chan and go read a book.

My grandmother's farmed chickens, and she is of the opinion that chickens that are born with multiple legs or heads are born from double-yolked eggs.

Of course, nobody has yet selected double-yolked eggs and continuously viewed them under the incubating light to see if this was the case, but since the germinal disc is usually attached to the membrane holding the yolk together, it is a fair assumption that a double yolked egg may have two fertilised germinal discs..

Apparently doouble-headed chickens don't live long because they eat double the feed, and since chickens can't tell if they are full, their esophagus literally blocks up and explodes.
