Screaming cat needs discipline Anonymous
Greetings /an/

I need some advice for dealing with my pet cat. Over the past few years, her meows have become progressively louder, and are now intolerable. We understand that she is hard of hearing, and possibly deaf, but I doubt this because she responds to loud unexpected noises while ignoring sounds with obvious origin. We do not believe she is injured or sick, or that her health is otherwise compromised outside of her hearing ability. She is eating and drinking normally as well.

We have decided, then, that she must be disciplined. However, the problem is that the time of day she is most vocally active is early in the morning, about 4am, and that her meows don't stop even when we swing a pillow out the bedroom door at her. Rather, she has adapted, and after she lets out a howl, she hides in another room until she is certain there will be no retribution.

I believe that an electric shock administering collar, similar to ones available for dogs, would allow us to discipline her with satisfactory results.

Is this a sound solution to my problem /an/, or is there a better choice? If its good, are there any products on the market made specifically for cats? If theres a better solution, please share it, because its pretty crappy waking up so early and being miserable all day.

Also, pic extremely related.

We typically do ignore her in the morning, but she only seems to get louder.

You sure her litterbox is clean, she has fresh food and water available? What exactly does she want? Some petting, affection?

I think she wants attention in the morning, because we keep her box clean (mostly, there are two cats and two boxes, if she doesnt like one she can walk to the other) and we keep a separate water dish in the bedroom she prefers to sleep in, to keep her from drinking from the toilet.

Why did you get a cat in the first place?

I'd kill it. There is no need for a cat to bother you. Honestly, they are horrible to begin with. But if it is annoying you on purpose, bury the thing alive.

Or put it in a burlap sack and let it try meow its way out of that in a river.

Fuck loud and annoying cats.

Wicked ungreatful.

Female cat? Take away her ovaries, that will calm her down.
