Hi everyone. I am interested in purchasing and raising a Netherland Dwarf bunny in my home. I have some questions/concerns. DO THEY BITE? I know even if one did it wouldn't hurt so much as scare the shit out of me, but I have a 4 year old niece who is frequently at my house and I would love for her to be able to handle it. I know you can almost completely break animals of this with enough handling I just wondered if anyone had one/knew anyone who had one and could tell me if they were prone to this type of thing. THANKS~

First, I'd check shelters and rescues in your area. Plenty of those rabbits get dumped.
Second, rabbits are not for children. They don't like to be held and there's a particular way to approach and deal with rabbits.
Rabbits will bite if they feel scared or threatened. They can also claw you, and draw blood. It will depend on the rabbit's personality and in your way to handle the bunny. If anything, children can be taught how to handle and pet rabbits in a non threatening way.
The advantage of getting a rabbit from a rescue is that most likely, you will get an adult rabbit with a developed and known personality, and the rescuer will be able to tell you about its temperament.

guinea pig or rat would be better for a little kid

All rabbits bite if they want to. And they have nasty, sharp, pointy teeth that can (and will) go through power cables like a laser, so if they bite you in earnest you'll do quite a bit of bleeding. So don't piss them off.
