IMPORT-EXPORT ANIMALS IN DANGER OF EXTINCTION Anonymous
Hello /an/. First of all, excuse my english.

Have someone idea if it is possible to import an animal in danger of extinction, like a panda, for a particular person? Is there any legal restriction? I have heard there are some people that owns a panda, but i haven't seen anyone yet...
And I know the chinese govern gives a panda as gift to other countries, but only with certain contracts or with political intentions.
So, it is really possible for a 'normal' person to get a panda?

I'm sure you have the ability to provide the 20 to 30 pounds of bamboo a day it needs.

Actually, that should be 40 to 60 pounds, since you're trying to save the species, right? You'll need a breeding pair.

Good luck finding someone who can provide the specialized veterinary care too.

Dumbass.

If you're actually interested in saving these creatures, donate to someone who actually knows what they're doing, like the San Diego Zoo organization.

Why would anyone WANT to own a Panda? They're ill-tempered, and lazy. The chinese name of Cat Bear is really appropriate.

I don't want a panda. I want to know if it is possible or not, and if there are any restrictive laws for that kind of animals.

Anyways, I've discovered China has a law since september 2006, that says export any protected animals from this country is prohibited. I suppouse the only way to have a panda in your home right now is by the black market...
