Canine behaviorist/Veterinary nurse that lurks 4chan here. Small dogs are a fantastic way for people who lack yards or have small budgets/dwellings to enjoy having a dog.
I own Mastiffs myself, but the smartest and most entertaining dog I ever had was a Boston terrier (10lbs)m and it is well known that many breeds and mixes of small dogs are highly intelligent, bond strongly with their owner, have a lot of pluck and attitude and often prove to be less difficult to care for and maintain than a larger dog. Incidentally, my Boston terrier was manstopper trained (a little experiment of mine) and could take down a perp easily with a strategic and strong jump and bite to the testicles, and knew over 50 commands by the time he passed away. Small dogs can be as cool as you make them!
