Give me some suggestions. Only thing I don't want is a spider. Also, I don't want the typical dog or cat.

What do you suggest?

thats a good one. they tend to want to run away though. and I would prefer something I could carry.

I thought a turtle would be cool. Anyone know what kinds of breeds there are in the states?

I wanna get a giant rabbit. Flemish giant rabbit would be such a cool pet.

can u teach them to talk?

i dont know if i should get a bird. i would have to keep it in a cage all the time.and that isnt such a good life.

Yeah you can teach them to talk. I wouldn't advise you to get one if you won't be able to take it out of the cage pretty often though.

yea i figured something i can put on a leash would be ideal. or anything that is strictly indoors like reptiles.

Get a rat. You won't regret it. They're super cute, very intelligent, and RIDICULOUSLY affectionate. You can put them in your pocket and just walk around with em like that...I like to keep mine on my shoulder. He will literally just sit there and let me walk around with him up there. Some time, she nuzzles me.

They're also very intelligent. If you put like, a t-shirt or a cardboard box in their cage, they'll chew it up and move it around until it's like a little house. I've seen them do some scarily intelligent things.

They're super low maintenance. You can feed em whatever you want...rat food, people food, whatever. And they don'y have to be fed that often. Just make sure theres food in the cage, and ALWAYS water.

Hope i helped.

Don't get a reptile if your looking for a pet that's at all affectionate. Personally I think the rat sounds like a pretty good suggestion.

If you want a reptile I'd suggest a ball python... they are very low maintenance, not aggressive and pretty slow-moving. However, the novelty wears off pretty quickly and they are not affectionate like the other poster said, and they live a long time... so be prepared for years and years of caring for a pet that doesn't like to play and has no "personality"...
I think the rat suggestion is the best yet, they are really cool pets. Easy to maintain, and they really do love to play and be held. I miss mine, they were really good pets.

Rabbit. They don't make noise, their shit doesn't stink and they don't need attention 24/7. Just 23/7.

i suggest a bat.

Buy yourself some snake... make sure it's not poisonous.

So how long does it take them to be trained not to shit on you while you hold them?

I suggest a small parrot, such as a conure. I have a sun conure and he is amazing.

They're cute, cuddly, smart, trainable, hilarious, comedic, and they have long lifespans BUT they can be loud, messy, stubborn, and they are expensive to buy (around $600)

Iguanas are one of the most difficult reptiles to keep successfully, considering that they're 6 foot tropical lizards that tend to be aggressive towards their keepers. They need giant cages.

>>300858

Reptiles have their own form of affection, even if it isn't as blatantly evident as a dog's retard lust for attention or a cat's lies of love for food. Most reptiles aren't affectionate at all, but something like an Argentine Tegu will seek out interaction with you if you've raised it well.

Who cares if they don't show emotion much? People keep fish and somehow no one cares that you can't even touch them. Reptiles are like fish you can hold.

I forgot to mention, I am in a wheelchair and the reason I want something slow, is because I don't want to have to wheel around and try to catch it.

turtle...?

Not long. When they're new to you, nerves may cause them to shit, but the more they're handled, the faster they learn that they should shit/piss elsewhere. If you get a rat, look for one/two that is curious, not skittish. May take you a while if you live out in Buttfuck Egypt, but eventually you'll find a store or an ad in the paper with some rats that have been held before.

The awesome thing about rats as compared to other rodents is that they get very attached to their people, so even if he gets out of the cage, he'd rather seek you out than run away.

A hedgehog or guinea pig would be a good inactive pet that is still somewhat interactive (can be held, etc).

Definitely a rat-smart, adopts your habits (mine colects cigs and tries to drink some beer when I'm not looking), loves you and follows you as if you are some god.
