Hey, /an/ can I get any help for my orange tree? We've had the thing for like 4 years, and it's hardly grown, and only one orange ever, which some random lady picked when it wasn't ripe. Should I put mulch around the trunk? I did it for our pear tree which was barren last year, and this time around it's growing more pears than ever.

And I also want to plant plum and/or apricot seeds I have here. Is this the right season for planting though? And how deep of a hole do I need?

poop around the base of the tree every day. It must be your poop if you planted it.

OP here, i'll try the poop thing...sounds odd though

thanks!

I used to work with plants in a past life and I recall some fruit trees require TWO trees to cross pollinate in order for fruit to grow at all. As for planting, dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball, and just as deep, fill with extra soil + fertilizers.

Whoops, you said seeds and I tuned that out. Depending on where you live, I'd probably wait for the temp to drop and plant in the fall.

You should pee on. No, seriously. Saw it in a movie, so it's gotta be real.

I feel bad for your tree. Put fertilizer on it and water it regularly if you have had very dry weather. Oranges respond well to tlc..but don't mulch the base. They actually like dry, well-drained soil and will get fungus and stuff on them if they are too moist.. You can turn some manure into the soil too if you really want, but the fertilizer is more important.
