Hey /an/, this is my beardie, Biscuit(and my cat that doesn't leave him alone). Usually he goes crazy for crickets and eats maybe 15 a day(and lettuce). Last night, I put in the usual amount and he just sat there. I don't think he's impacted because he just pooped. Maybe he'd just rather have more veggies? He's still a juvenile though.. I don't know, give me your thoughts.

He's probably fine. But you should maybe consider not feeding him crickets in the same tank that he lives in. Buy cheap a plastic tank, put him in there with the crickets, and take him out when's done eating. This way you'll completely avoid impaction, and it's less stress on the lizard to catch his food.

Since your beardy is young he should still be eating lots of crickets, but leaving more veggies around does't hurt. And don't make sure not to feed him iceberg lettuce, veggies like collards, kale, dandelion greens are better.

Can you phrase that better? I don't know which you want me to feed him and which you don't, lol

Feed him everything but the lettuce. Lettuce has zero nutritional value. Do some research.

cucumbers have no nutritional value, so OP can feed him cucumbers? since you know, that would be included in everything

or maybe hot cheetoes

that is a part of everything

Yeah, I know what to feed him pretty much, you just confused me.

I bet he'd love those.

Yeah thats really good advice about not feeding him iceberg lettuce. Nutritionally it is pretty much just water and cellulose (which lizards can't digest). If he prefers veggies give him leafy lettuce like spinach or romaine along with nutritious veggies like raw carrots, raw broccoli, etc. (cut up into small enough portions).

I buy him green lettuce. I thought it'd be good. I'm going to try strawberries too. I haven't done carrots because I dont know how to cut them up for him. I know he doesn't like bananas though and I know not to feed him oranges or anything too citrus

Iceberg lettuce does have fiber though, which is good in its own way.
