sup /an/? my hamster just gave birth in my shoebox, what the fuck do i do? and how do i safely move the pups into their cage?

Make sure she doesn't eat them.

Unless, you know, you don't want them.

It's important not to stress your hamster by getting your scent on the pups-- even if she recognizes your smell she can still get aggitated. Move the mother into the cage first. Then take a clean spoon and lift the pups out of the box and set them in the cage one at a time.

or you can feed them to your cat with that spoon

Just keep them in the shoebox to avoid any hostility from the mother. If your scent gets on them, she'll most likely eat them. Make food and water available in the box, along with some bedding.

Just stuff each one in your asshole for a couple seconds then let them out, repeat until you've cycled through all the lil critters. They are now safe around their mother and you don't have to feed them until they're ready for solid foods!
