My CAT Blaze
so /an/, I have my cat, Blaze, who's currently sleeping on my blanket. I've had her for about..2 1/2-3 yrs. got her at about 6mo. at the SPCA. Doing a lot of research from TEH INTERWEBZ and also from several cat books, I've determined her to be a Tabby and..possibly Ocicat or Oriental Shorthair, but I'm not sure.

Blaze is in the picture, by the way.

Your point?

Point is, I was wondering if maybe any feline experts could shine some light in my direction. Sorry that I didn't make that clear.

I've worked at an SPCA for a while, and I've seen just about every type of cat under the sun.

You, my friend, have a 100% mutt-cat. As in, garden variety domestic shorthair. Probably some American shorthair, maybe some main coon from the points on the ears (but far enough that the fur is still short).

She's certainly a tabby, but that refers to the coat markings and less about the breed. Ocicat is highly unlikely because that is an uncommon breed to see in stray cats (unless she was an owner surrender) and the distinctive spots would give it away. Also, she's built to heavy for an oriental breed.

Those are still the best kind of cat IMO.

Mutts FTW! Both in dogs and cats! Yaaaay!

agreed, mutt cats are the best! That and they tend to actually be healthier because they don't live in some inbreeding breed protection program and thus better genetic diversity

lol, I meant to say mutt.

Haha, that's a very cute little pattern it has around its mouth. I've never seen a cat like that.

She's adorable, but i dont think she's an Oriental Shorthair. She'd be a lot skinnier and her fur would be a little thicker. My first cat was an Oriental Shorthair, and you wouldnt believe how ugly she was when we got her.

looks like lynx ears!
