Well, I think my puppy finally hit puberty, and she's only slightly over three months old. She hasn't had her period yet, but she seems to want to be on top.

She'll take her leash in her mouth and try to force me to walk where she wants. Or, she tries to bite me excessively hard and when I put her on her back she fights a lot more and a lot quicker to get out.

Other than that, it's just small things. She doesn't complain when we get near her food though, and she doesn't complain much about being put in her bed (kennel) much either.

Whenever she tries to lead I have her sit down and look at me for a few seconds until we start moving again. I want her to stop running around me though so I'm going to start focus training.

As for the biting, I'm gonna start using Bitter Works all over my hand and praise her when she stops biting so hard.

What do you guys think?

Malamute, yeah.

What do you think though? Puberty or not? I haven't noticed any discharge yet, but I've read that it's gonna be clear for the first few days before anything very noticeable comes out.

I've taught her all the basics except for heel so far, which to me is currently the most important one (I want to take her for bike runs and can't until she stops going around me)

Sit, stay, and come

This behavior has nothing to do with puberty.
Oh, and congratulations on having such a pretty puppy. She actually sounds pretty well-behaved, too.
You don't need bittering agents to curb her play-biting - when you put a dog on its back, it is in a very vulnerable position. If you have ever seen 2 puppies play, when one is on the back, the other will often pounce. The puppy lying on the back will then bite and kick - this behavior may save its life "in the wild" if it ever gets into a fight and ends up on the back.
Don't touch your dog near her belly while lying on her back, unless she is calm or sleepy.
As for training, please read as much as you can from quality sources - your knowledge will rub off on her and you will both have a happier life together. Take this opportunity to teach yourself as much as you can, because there is lots to learn, and lots of rewards for the both of you. Here are some links for your reference:

Good luck.

Ah, okay. It's just that over the past two days or so her personality has changed a lot even though I've already been with her for about two or three weeks.

I also figured she might be gaining more confidence and just have excess energy (I haven't been able to play as much the past two days, and she's sleeping right now) so that might be it.

Thanks for the link, I've read most of that, but I haven't tried anything other than Bitter Works since her biting isn't so bad.

Oh, and her first heat will probably start at around 10-12 months since she is a bigger dog.
It could happen between 6-14 months though.

Sounds like excess energy, but you should really try something other than Bitter Works. You don't want her to think you taste repulsive, unless nothing else works.

Malamutes/huskies are pretty independent breeds and not easy to train. The best way for any kind of productive future for the both of you would be for you to learn how to gently distract her from bad behavior and and kindly reward good behavior. Not only that, but you must learn to identify wanted and unwanted behavior and the right times to praise her.
This sounds like a lot, but you need to do it - especially with an independent breed.
In other words - learn what it takes to gently train your dog, without using *band-aid* approaches like bittering agents. There will be future training challenges that have no suitable (none really are) "band-aids" - I guarantee it.

I think you're doing good I would just change two things. When shes pulling on the lead, pull her the opposite direction she wants to go and walk that way. Stopping and looking at her will only distract her from pulling, not show her that pulling gets her the opposite of what she wants. And for the bitter remedy on your hands, when she bites i would remove her to a pen or other room, and the bitter stuff doesnt really work I tried it lol

Remember not to fuck her until her second heat, ok? :3
