So can fennec foxes be properly domesticated after all? I thought they'd make really cute pets but this video made me feel sick if anything. Tame or not, I could never stand that noise.

The noise is kind of cute but I sure wouldn't want to hear it all day long so keeping them in a big room of their own seems like a good idea. Also, hueg ears are huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuueg, LOL!

No.

THEY AREN'T DOGS, you need more space than that vid to keep them.. thats just an enclosure during the day when they sleep

Because... that's how all pets started out at one point?

Getting a fox isn't even worth the trouble they are cute but they seem REALLY defensive in that vid also that high pitched whine is annoying.

Except fennecs aren't a result of several centuries worth of selective breeding.

Fennec foxes are not thoroughly domesticated yet. Caring for them is a challenge because they cannot be necessarily house-trained and they display wild behavior sometimes. It's true that a buyer may get a fox they can never enjoy as a cuddly, playful pet.

HOWEVER. I wouldn't take the camera antics of YouTube wantwits as the sign from god that fennec foxes can't be kept as pets.

Those are the most anxious and fucked up foxes I have ever seen.

Dude doesn't appear to remember their names even.

Why would you want an animal that screams at you, bites, and is only awake at night?

Winnage.

Anyway, anything can be kept as a "pet" but very little acts like a dog or a cat.

Rabbits, pigs maybe. Ferrets. Rats, hamsters and other rodents have their own style.
