I'm so interested in this breed, and considering getting one...are they frisky?

Extraordinarily. They're also rather willful, so you have to be prepared for a long and arduous training. That being said, they are very smart, very loving exceptionally faithful, and a very healthy athletic breed. The only problem I had with mine was that I got him second hand from an awful owner, and he was already ~1 yr. old. He was tough to train and whenever left unattended he found his way out of the yard. Still a great dog and my personal favorite breed.

Another pic of Jack for good measure.

I had a Schipperke/Pomeranian mutt for 17 years. He was an ill-tempered son of a bitch, but he was a great dog, and easily the most intelligent animal I've ever known.

Haha, ya, like I said, he can be ill-tempered sometimes and very stubborn, but that's due to being completely untrained in his first year. Like you said though, it's a smart cookie. He knows exactly what to do to get what he wants.

A friend has the same mix. Very smart, very ADD. Absolutely gorgeous dog. Unfortunately, no good pics. My camera phone is shit.
