Dear /an/,I bought what I thought where two male rats. But after a month as one becane to show his man hood, huge balls, the other didn't Turns out Wesker is female. Oh shits. The little buldge I thought would be balls is no longer. Now I have a male and a female rat. I think their maybe 3-4 months max. When do they hit maturity? How many babies do they have at one time? I wouldn't mind them having one litter. But could I get Scrapper fixed? Is that bad? Should I get rid of one of them or keep them?Scrapper, the male, is starting to like.. go for Wesker's crotch and it almost looks like he's eating her out or something. I need a lot of help.Pic semi-related. The girl is black and the boy is tan. And don't worry I have them in a much much bigger cage now.
LOL
You sure can get them fixed. Fairly expensive and a pain, though. They look awful small in this picture....did you get them waaaaay young? =/
Get them neutered. You get one litter and and you get a zillion. Bad idea.
>>Scrapper, the male, is starting to like.. go for Wesker's crotch and it almost looks like he's eating her out or something.I fucking lol'd
No I just think the plastic "cage" at the time was too small. But again it was only a temp. They where about twice the size of my mice.
get a snake
aren't you the same person who had your baby rat and mice together?
>>97540That was only for like a few minutes. They've never been together since.
You CAN get them fixed but as stated already, it's expensive. Somewhere between $70-150. It's also quite risky for the rat. You're better off separating them (unless you are experienced enough to breed them, if these are your first rats I would seriously advise against it) or seeing if you can give one to a pet store or another rat loving friend.
>>97551Oh and a picture of my surviving rat-face.
Take them both back to the pet store you got them and they should give you refund or replacementThe male is going after her to smell and pick up on her horomones of when she will be fertile. You don't want them to get pregnant and have to take care of babies.Trust me, I've dealt with the sudden pregnancy of rodents
shit, just dump them in the park. What's the big deal.
>>97565I'd rather get my money back or credit or another rat if I were him
>>97565lurk moar
>>97565See? This, right here, is why technology fucking fails. We should be able to let unfertile members of the community, such as this one, die and just move along.Natural selection FTW.
>>97585except it's the assholes that generally survive and the touchy feely morality based ones are the first to crumble
At 3-4 months old, just assume the female is pregnant. Babies should be separated from the mother and by sexes at 5 weeks. Separate them immediately. Wait about 21-23 days to see if she has babies. Adjust your rat housing plans accordingly.
Forgot to add that the average litter size is 10-12 babies. Enjoy the eepers.
