Hello /an/. Here's the story: I work as a superintendant in an apartment building. As security was making their nightly patrols, they happened upon a hamster on the 11th floor. They brought it into the office and I walked in at 8:00am to see a hamster staring at me out of a paper shredder. I am now the owner of this awesomely cute animal but I have never owned one before. Does anyone have any advice? I want to make sure it's well taken care of and happy.
They're pretty easy to take care of, but they are nocturnal. So if you put a wheel in it's cage, don't leave it in the same room with you at night, b/c it will keep you awake!
I can't get over how cute this thing is.
Agreed, they are quite easy to take care of. Nothing special, really.
Wait, you work in an apartment building, and a security guy "found" a hamster? Is it possible this hamster belongs to one of the tennants?

Me thinks the tennant violated a no pets even small caged ones type clause in their apartment contract and the manager decided to keep the cute little bugger cause it is to soft heart to slaughter/euthanize the poor creature...
