I'm pretty sure you cannot own a skunk in connecticut

>Connecticut
Category: B*

Summary of Law: It is unlawful for persons to possess potentially dangerous animals unless the animal was in possession prior to May 23, 1983. Potentially dangerous animals include: the Felidae family (lion, leopard, cheetah, jaguar, ocelot, jaguarundi cat, puma, lynx, and bobcat); the Canidae family (wolf and coyote); the Ursidae family (black bear, grizzly bear, and brown bear); and venomous reptiles, alligators, crocodiles. However, there are no state requirements for a person possessing non-human primates. Persons may possess primates after obtaining a permit and satisfaction of designated qualifications, however, permits are not required if you qualify as a zoo or nature center.

Skunks will be considered dangerous. If you dont believe what is already stated on the sites then why not just call up your local wildlife commission or animal-control authority about legally owning a pet skunk?

They smell bad even if the scent glands are removed. It's not nostril-searing or anything, but it's pretty much worse than ferrets and cats combined if you're not used to it.
Other than that you have to give them a lot of attention and for the love of christ don't keep them in a tiny cage. If you're a dick then they'll become reclusive jerks who back into a corner and spray imaginary skunk juice at you every time you come near.

They actually make amazing pets. Its best to get them young though. They are very smart animals, they can open up things. If you wish to get one I recommend child proof locks.
