nothing?

not really such a hard thing to find out about. just use what you think is best, and if it doesn't kill them after a serving then it's alright.

Evo is best followed by Totally Ferret.

Mix 50% of ferret food with 50% Natural Balance Cat food and you got super fuzzy food.

They will poop less and be healthier, its win win.

The best ferret chow you can get is Marshal Ferret Food. It's some of the best shit out there for ferrets. There's lots of other stuff. But to find out specifically what YOUR critters need, go to your vet and ask them.

Nova Evo is the best individual food, hands down. It has the most meat-based Protein and Fat content, which are very important. Second to that, is Wysong brand food. Watch out for really high moisture or fiber content in food; it's not good for them.

Keep in mind, they're domesticated, but they're still carnivores. Many people feed their ferrets food or treats with plant proteins and fats, or even sugar, and that's bad for them. Sugars can lead to insulinoma later on in life. Remember, just because it's marketed for ferrets, doesn't mean it's GOOD for ferrets. For example, I recently read a book on taking care of ferrets that recommended feeding them fruits and vegetables ("for variety") and that's just retarded.

I also recommend lightly cooking them liver and possibly ground meat from the grocery store. My vet recommends feeding them mice, as nothing replaces what they'd get from eating a full, proper animal. My ferrets didn't go for the idea though, as they're spoiled on their dry food.

Marshall Farms is a money-hungry, mass-producer of inbred ferrets. Some of their toys are all right, but their food products are crap compared to a lot of other brands. They offer a warranty on their ferrets, if you feed them only Marshall food. That either means that they're worried about their ferret's health, or they're worried about their food sales.

Something to remember is that ferrets are typically imprinted with what flavors and food brands they like when they're young, so it's a good idea to give them a few brands on-and-off, to establish a taste, in case they stop making/selling a certain brand. Just remember to mix the new food in with the old food to prevent upset stomach or finicky eating.

If all else fails, 8 in 1 Ultimate is the best that's sold at most average pet stores.

I work at Pet Supermarket, and I own 2 ferts (the pic is of one of them). Those are my two cents, take 'em or leave 'em.

Read the 1st 4 ingredients.. By-products and herring are not that good for a fuzzy. Marshal only is better than straight cat food and kaytee ferret food.

The best food is raw meat, like chick, mouse, rats, etc...

It's organs-only by products, actually. No nasty feathers and such.

Someone shop in "Why do you do this?"

Most ferrets wont recongnize mice as food. They will kill it and just drag it around (if they do anything at all) You'll have to work them up to eatting it.

Start with small chunks of raw chicken. if you give them soupies put it in there, slowly make it bigger and bigger taking away the soupies. then eventually you'll be able to give them small raw chicken wingettes (pieces of chicken wing) therefore eatting bone which is great for their teeth etc. OR give them small chunks of chicken soaked in ferretone
