Hey Britfags, there's a documentary on Channel 4 about animal young, that's basically bestiality and (animal) CP. Facts I didn't know so far: a shark fires sperm bullets, and a penguin has a ping-pong ball-sized egg.

Pic is an elephant fetus. Yeah, they sedated and ultrasounded elephants. Scientists are getting more and more bored, aren't they?

Aw, looks like they're doing the usual penguin male looks after egg, parasitic wasp, shark killing sibling in the womb and kangaroo premature fetus moving to the pouch deal.

Old story, but since it's relevant:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/3114124.stm

>"The male is co-ordinating this enormous penis, and he's implanting spermadaphores into the female's arms.

>"He uses the penis like a plunger or a huge hypodermic needle, and he's physically stabbing the female's arms."

There's also some species of fish(I read this a looong time ago, forget what species) where the male has coloration simular to eggs near the genitals, so they can trick females into swallowing sperm when they're gathering up their own eggs.

Nature is very /d/ at times. It's understandable for scientists to be curious about this weirdness.

"Hopefully the male giant squid, absolutely driven into a frenzy, is going to come up and try to mate with the camera.

"This is the dream - we're going to get this sensational footage of the giant squid trying to do obscene things with the camera."
What the fuck is wrong with people?

As a person who absolutely love this sort of research, No I dont think its boring at all. I think its finding out more clues about how evolution occured using analogus ( I believe Im using the right word) structures such as fetus, eggs and etc. Sexual functions really dont change much from animal to animal but looking for the differences can just give us small clues to even more interesting subjects like fetal growth etc. Also I think its clue that many mammals fetuses look the same at the beginning of growth.
