Hey /an/. One of my neighbors (I don't know who) has a black cat that from time to time runs through our garden. We were on vacation for two weeks earlier this year and a neighbor told us, that she was sitting most of the day in our garden, sleeping and whatnot.
So, I always wanted to have a cat, but my parents wouldn't allow it. So I think maybe I could befriend this cat of our neighbors'? How do you think I should do that?
I thought maybe I'd put a plate with a little to eat (not too much, I reckon she's getting enough food at "home"), so that she'd come up to our garden and eat a little. Then, when I know when her time is, I would sit outside, wait for her, and when she comes to eat, pet her, play with her etc...

Do you think that's a good idea? And what should I put out for her to eat? I don't want to buy cat-food just for that ... suggestions?

Pic related, our neighbor's cat is black

And another question: I already "met" her a couple of weeks ago at night when returning from a friend's and already played with her, let her smell me and stuff. Do you think she would remember me fromt he small (and also possibly sight)? It was pretty smokey at my friend's, would she still remember the smell, and recognize me, say, if I'm washed and smelling "normal"?

That still doesn't negate the fact that you're incredibly stupid and selfish.

You kept trying to make excuses for it, even after you were told it's a bad idea. Don't get mad when someone calls you out.

depending on the cat you may just be able to walk up and pet it.

If you're really desperate to play with a cat/kitten, you can always go volunteer at the humane society - they always have cats and dogs that need socialization.

It's coming over because you're feeding it. I doubt there's much "friendship" going on.
