They're smart but stubborn dogs. You will have to be determined and to make sure that the you (the trainer) is considered to be the leader of the group (by the dog). My corgi used to herd around our beagle, but she just kicked his ass whenever she got tired of him gnawing on her ear.
They make excellent pets but you must make sure to give them plenty of outdoor space/exercise, attention, mental stimulation, shit to smell, and get some chew toys because they'll chew on anything when they are small (we have chipped tile >_>).
When they get older their backs can get pretty bad so you need to watch out and accommodate that.
