Saw a poster the other day offering $5000 for a lost dog. Has anyone ever lost a dog and gotten it back/returned one for the reward?

one of our old dogs ran away for a little bit. we went out looking for her for a while until we gave up. then when we were almost home, there she was..walking back to our house. hah we think she just chased some squirrel or something and managed to get outside the fence somehow.

A lot of people troll around rich subdivisions and steal dogs, then wait for the owners to post a reward.

One time a friend of ours was watching our biggest dog while we were looking for a new house, and while she was walking it she just took off away from her.

Apparently she'd been missing us, and decided she was gonna try to find us. Our friend got freaked out and posted shit everywhere looking for the dog, and finally this little kid's mom showed up saying that the dog had come up to the kid at her bus stop and she'd taken it home.

So yeah, we got our dog back and she was fine.

When my dog went missing, I actually was stupid enough to post reward signs. It's not the signs that were a dumb idea, but the fact that I put that there was a $200 reward. It lead to a few false leads in order to get the money, but some kids found my dog. He was chained in some spics yard all skinny and stuff.

So yeah, I've gotten my dog back before.

Fucking spics. When Romney takes over, all spics will be chained up like that.

When I go inside stores, I leave my Bullmastiff outside and he just sits and waits for me (he doesn't need a leash. According to someone who was watching, someone walked up to him and grabbed his collar and tried to lead him away.
I heard a ROAR, and when I rushed outside,
my Bull was lying on top of the guy, pinning him and he had peed himself a little bit.
Good lawd I love my Massie!

Yeah, I'd never be able to accept a reward for something like that. It might be because I'm quite different from most people, or so I'm told, but accepting a reward for a simple good deed like that would make me feel dirty. On the other hand, if it were a ridiculous amount of money like, say, a million dollars, I might just have to accept it. I suppose the fact that I have a price, albeit a high one, supports the idea that I am indeed a human being.

I found a dog running around in the street outside my house once, a german shepherd. It looked lost, and had no collar, so I brought it in the house and called the cops and the local dog shelter. I got a call back from the cops about an hour later saying some guy had reported a similar dog missing, then he called, and we established that it was his dog, and it had come some distance to my street. Anyway, he came to pick it up, and the misreable son of a bitch didn't even say thankyou, he was annoyed at having to come so far, and just loaded the dog in the back of the car and fucked off home. Beautiful friendly big dog though.

Whenever I see a poster like that I just go find the nearest animal that looks like the animal in the poster and go collect the reward money.

He doesn't now. That happened when he was still a really badly behaved puppy. It was horrible.

>>If they fucking let their dog inside, he'd stop barking.
Not really, some dogs, like mine, just like running around the yard barking at trees and everything that moves.

I have 2 dogs and they used to run away constantly. I usually either got them back somewhere in the neighborhood or at the humane society. We had chips put in them so if they go to the humane society we know pretty quickly.

One time my collie went to a house down the street with a little girl and my mom went to go pick him up. I guess the little girl was really sad to see him go.

My other dog, a blood hound/retriever mix usually ran off chasing scents. She'd just put her nose to the ground and not want to stop following it for anything.

They pretty much stopped running off now, I think it's because they've adjusted. They were both adopted and were adults when we got them.

I can only really remember one time actually finding a lost dog. He had no collar and kept chasing my cat, we had him for a couple days before he ran off on us.

Never heard of watching your damn dogs, or using fencing?

We have a fence, it was falling apart and we had to replace 2 sides entirely. Our backyard had a creek running through it long before the house was even there, so it dips in a lot. When we built both sides, they were built level with a huge gap under the fence so we could level out the backyard...but it ended up never happening so we had to cover the bottom up with a bunch of makeshift crap that the dogs would always find a way through. We have a bunch of plywood board under there now, so they can't escape. They don't really try to anyway, I think they've adjusted more and realized that this is their home.
