Hey /an/ my house has a bunch of fruit flies in it. How do I get rid of them?
>> Runaways Anonymous
Find a spider, put the spider in a test tube and feed the spider the fruit flies.

No offense but that's a dumb idea if I was going to go though all the effort of catching the flies i'd just smush them or drown them

Are you kidding me? I used to do it all the time.
I had a tiny spider in there and it spun a tiny web in the test tube and I could watch it crawl around and eat flies.

1) stop leaving food out.
2) vacuum cleaner.

How to build a fruit fly trap:

1.Take a high glass.
2.Put several sweet juices and a bit of vinegar in it.
3.Mix it with a little dish liquid (to prevent flies from walking on the water surface).
4.Leave it near the fly hive.

you can take a smallish plastic container, or cut a water/pop bottle in half and fill it with beer. that seems to work! or fruit juice and vinegar.

Either this, or stop overwatering your house plants.

I have a similar problem, but with moths. There is a room where tons of little larvae keep popping up on the walls and moths appearing. I can't figure out where they are all coming from.

Anyway, I use the vacuum cleaner to suck them all up about once a day.
