Hi /an/ I've been wondering if I should get a Norweigan Forest Cat. But I have a huge problem... I'm in a tropical country. These cats are more suitable for cold countries right? I really love them, but due to my job I'm stuck here. Would the cat be alright if I take care of it here in a tropical country?

it would die

B-but there are persians here too. They have longer furs but they don't die! ;___;

Yeah especially if it is an indoor cat.

It's an outdoor cat. It loves climbing trees. But there are a lot of trees here! And it's not always hot here you know. ;_;

No worries. I had a similar cat once, and I live out in the desert. Just make sure to provide plenty of water and regularly check it to make sure it's okay.

The cat will be fine. Like anon said, make sure it has lots of water. It would be good if you had air conditioning.

My long haired cat is very uncomfortable when the weather is hot. It was 101 degrees F here there other day and she just flopped on the floor and spread out as much as possible. Once the air conditioner was turned on, she camped out in front of it and seemed happy. All my other cats are terrified of the noisy air conditioner.
