Just how tenacious are bees, exactly? Anonymous
Like say, I was to stand from five-to-ten feet away and nail the hive with a rock. Would they know who the agressor (me) was?

I don't plan to do this. Just hypothetically. And say I was unlucky enough to get identified: How fast can they fly when in pursuit, and for how far can they chase me? You'd think they'd be more preoccupied with the ruined hive.

Bees can smell you, especially the co2 in your breath.
So if you're standing next to the hive and something really angers the bees, you have a good chance of being attacked.
Depends on what kind of bee though.
Some species are tame, others will kill you.

A common bumblebee horde, I'm saying.

Uhm, this is a wasp. Not a bee.....

Africanized honey bees(killer bees) are terribly territorial and release a pheromone when squished that alerts the rest of the hive to attack en masse. I would say just Google it and there is a plethora of information out there.
