Some species captive-bred specimens of species like veileds, panthers, and jacksons make for good display animals if you have experience with reptiles. If you don't know anything about UVB, vitamin supplements, and managing humidity, temperature, and ventilation then it's not a good idea. Unless you're EXTREMELY experienced wild-caught specimens are as good as dead and even the hardy species are prone to stress and somewhat delicate; even if you have a good reptile specialist vet, if your chameleon falls ill enough for you to realize it's sick it's probably doomed.
