One night, it was raining, and something got me to step outside. As soon as I did, I heard crying. The sound of a kitten crying. As I ran around the complex looking for the source of the sound, it found me first. It was a little female bengal cat kitten, looking down at me from the second story balcony. She was stuck up there because of the rain. I ran up the stairs to get her. And she ran down the stairs to me. I picked her up, and she was so excited, and happy.
I took her back to my apartment, and placed her on the doorsteps. I went in to look for food. She didn't wait at the doorstep though, she ran into my house, and immediately declared it her own. She ran into my bedroom and jumped onto my bed. I went to go pick her up, and as I leaned in, she ran up and began licking my face. She knew she'd found a sucker.
For the next four months, she was the happiest cat I'd ever seen, and I was happier for it. She ran all about my apartment, tearing things up, running up anything she could grip onto, always constantly wanting to play. I didn't know much about cats then. I started buying her food and treats though, and she took to the litter box with no training -as has every cat I've had since.
