I've read that dwarf races are less healthy than normal sized rabbits.

Oh, and you really should get two and not only one if possible.

Whatever you want to do: Just do your fucking research before you buy any pet!

Not true, as it happens. I looked into it and apparantly the Netherland Dwarf lives for longer than the regular sized rabbit. Although the Dwarf does have a sensitive digestive tract :/

Since it's quite hard to judge the gender of rabbits at a young age, I reckon it'd be safer to get just one than risk having an unwanted litter of inbred bunnies. :P Plus I intend to keep it as a house rabbit, so hopefully I'd be enough company for it! Then again, two bunnies is more fun than one.. hmm, more thought is required.

get a buck, does suck as pets. and most rabbits dont like other rabbits enless they were kits together and the pecking order was established before they were strong enough to hurt each other. NDs live round 5-6 years mine are 11 and 13. they can also be mean little fuckers, ankle biters of the bunny world

sensitive digestive system? All rabbits have a disgusting digestive system. They have to eat their own shit to get nutrition. Their food doesn't get digested into a useful form until it is past the point in their gut that they can absorb the nutrients. Thats what they get for evolving from short gut carnivores.

What was this short-gutted killer?

And furthermore, the evolution into rabbits, with such a crappy digestive system, seems more of a detriment than a benefit, so what inspired the sudden switch in diets?

Not true, generally. I'm sure there are exceptions, but rabbits are very social and need companions. Males and females will bond for life (just make sure to have them neutered/spayed first). My male rabbit didn't meet his "special lady bunny friend" until I got him when he was 3 years old, and he loves her to bits.
