I just adopted a piggy this morning (pic is her, so pretty!) but her adopted name was Clarabelle. I was thinking about shortening it to either Clara or Belle, but i'm not sure. Should i keep her given name, shorten it, or change it completely?

does she seem to respond at all to clarabelle? if not, name her biscuits

i haven't really called her by her name yet. I've been introducing her to people as Belle, but biscuits doesn't really fit, either.

They found her with all her fur gone, stuck outside on a patio in a 5 gallon fish tank for a home :(

Your pig will learn any name as long as you associate it with good things. So call her whatever you want, and give her a treat when you do so. She probably hasn't had the name long enough to associate it with anything yet.

Also, why do you have her on a dog potty pad?

I'm not the OP, but I'd guess it's on a puppy training pad because untrained guinea pigs will not fucking hesitate to pee and poop on you.

I had three guinea pigs when I was young, they were all called Pig.

you are correct; it's a great way to keep them out for long periods of time without having to worry about getting soiled on. I actually have her in a pillowed dog basket, too. Works great for carrying around and they don't get crowded anywhere and its good to get them both on for petting
