I'm guessing when they say the turtles are sexed it means they're a breeding pair so they probably want to sell them as a couple. Probably to make more money but it would be nice to keep them together.

As for the rooster I don't know what to tell you seeing as I've never owned a rooster before lul, Try keeping the new rooster close to the other ones but separated by a fence or something so that they can all get used to the new comer but won't be able to attack it. A few weeks might do it, if that doesn't work though then I'm out of ideas.

Good luck!

For the rooster, the older male cock is very protective of his onwned harem, just kill the old cock or let the new cock have some balls and duke it out with your old cock.

for the turtle, check the tail...dunno much

I'm pretty sure 'sexed pair' means that they're male/female. I wouldn't worry about them breeding however...turtles need specific conditions for them to lay eggs. Most owners (and probably your cousin, unless she's a serious breeder) don't bother setting it up.

To tell the sex of the turtles...it depends on what kind you're getting (terrapin or tortoise, and breed) but in general males have a curved belly so they can --heh heh-- fit over the female to mate. I remember something about the length of the claws and tail (males have longer claws??) but it's been a long time since I had turtles and I don't remember anymore.

And oh--don't buy water turtles if they're smaller than 6 inches. Those're illegal and would probably have come from a dubious source, and they're less likely to be healthy. I don't remember if that applies to tortoises.
