Horny bunny Anonymous
My bunny just reached SEXual maturity. How can I get him to calm down? I heard you can give him a stuffed animal or you can spray him in the face with water. Neither of these things have worked. What can I do?

Neuter it. Seriously, they become bitey little bastards at that age and smell a lot worse too.

Damn, you're right. Today he was nipping my sweatshirt a lot, as well as smelled really weird when I picked him up. Dammit.

Rabbit puberty is the worst. Sweet little baby bunnies turn in to throat-eating stinkbombs. Mine chewed excessively. Neutering fixed all the issues, though.

How much did it cost?

Less than $100, I think $70? It was years ago.

Super seconding neutering but PLEASE find a vet who knows what they're doing concerning rabbits.

My rabbit got sick once and I took him to two normal vets who said he needed to be put down. However, when I got him to a specialty vet, she gave me a very simple medicine to give him and he was better in two days. Don't trust a rabbit to someone who doesn't know what they're doing!

seconded; find a small animal/rodent specialist

my guinea pig and rabbit both came from pet stores pregnant and my dogs vet said they weren't, even though I could feel it when I held them. most docs will take looks at rabbits thinking it's no different than a cat or something, but you really need someone who knows them in and out

Get some sort of caustic oil like oil of wintergreen, tiger balm, or whatever it is and just apply on the places you don't want ot be humped.

But make sure to leave it off of the areas you DO want to be humped.
