First clear out his food source and seal up his entry points. That's the only effective long term rodent solution. Then set up some kind of live trap.

They must always be killed because they spread disease and multiply!" ^I've searched high and low on the CDC website and it looks like the worst rodent diseases combined kill maybe 12 ppl a year in the U.S., about as many as lightning. Not to mention that pretty much the only way to catch a zoonotic disease from a rodent is to ingest its urine or feces. Exterminators exaggerate their danger. If you keep your food sealed there is no harm with tossing the guy outside. Animals can only breed to the numbers that their food supply with sustain.
