sup /an/
I just bought a snail for my ~20gal aquarium and I'm seeking a few tips. I've had snails in the past and they tend to eat whatever aquarium plants I've got in there - is there a way to stop this, for example, by keeping it fed with veggies? Also, what sort of veggies are best to give a snail? I've had good luck with things like celery and cabbage leaves, but how about things like carrots and other vegetables? does /an/ have any experience with feeding snails (and keeping them out of trouble)?

You have a 10g tank with 6 golden fish in there? Either you are planning to get a bigger tank (50g at least) or you are retard, anonymous-san.

No u.

No, as soon as the comets and ryukin break three inches each they're getting a bigger tank, and the little guys stay in this one.

Also, I'm not lazy like most goldfish owners. I do a fifteen percent water change twice a week, and change and clean the filter/pads more than my wallet likes to admit.

Oh, that sounds allright than. You have anonymous approval.
Exept change water at least 50% weekly (golden fish is a poopmachine) and dont use no shitty charcoal pads, just go straight sponge.

Hmm.

May have to consider it. Currently it's me being too lazy to set up a new tank, vs just shrugging off the money every couple weeks for the filter pads. I'll probably redo both tanks' layouts and setup once I get the second.

You do realize that the Shubunkins will get to be 6 to 9 inches each, right? You can't keep all of them in the 10 gallon....you can keep one. You'd better have a pond ready for all the big ammonia-y fish you will have on your hands soon.

Depends a lot on what snail and what plants you have. The one in the pic is an apple snail which is reasonably well behaved although it will eat the tips off sprouts and similarly delicate parts. Controlling reproduction is particularly easy as they lay their eggs above water where you can easily see and remove them.

>WHAT?! YOU MEAN FISH GET BIGGER??

>Holy shit, cause that's new, guys.
You must be new to internets. Thats exactly what many people think when getting fish.
FISH GROWS ONLY TO THE SIZE OF ITS TANK! GOLDFISH IS MEANT TO BE KEPT IN 0.5 GALLON VASE!

Salt doesn't really effect this kind of snail unless its over 0.27% salinity, which is about brackish water.
