why the fuck are you keeping an endangered species for?! did you get it off the black market or something?
>> Anonymous
my apologies, I was thinking of a different kind of possum glider that lives around my area.

but, isnt it still illegal to keep them as pets?

Not illegal, but they are REALLY hard to care for. You have to give them an incredibly varied diet for them to stay healthy. You can't just pick up 'sugar glider kibble' at the pet store.

Also, they're much happier in pairs, OP.

Thats weird.
An animal thats native to where I live is illegal to keep as a pet here, but overseas its perfectly legal.

doesn't make sense.

American laws make no sense.

Southern flying squirrels are kept as pets and they are native to the USA..
So are skunks. Its not illegal. You just need permits.

Also fuck your sugar glider.
Flying squirrels FTW

Sugar Gliders are perfectly legal to keep, in the US, at least.

Also,>>194666is right; they are happier in pairs.

Anyways, Biscuit seems good to me.

I miss my little guy.. His name was Bandit.. :) Had him for about three years.

If you named him Biscuit then the little guy would've lived to be ten years.

Also I should of bought him a mate. I'm not sure how old he was when my parents bought him. He was good little fellow.

OP have fun. :)

It depends on where you live. In many states in the US, it is indeed very illegal to keep an indigenous species (although almost any non-native animal is fair game). This is to prevent the spread of diseases from a pet population into the wild population. You CAN get permits to keep these animals, but in most places it is a very expensive and lengthy process that involves you proving that you are rehabilitating or fostering a wild animal for it's own well-being, not just keeping a cool pet.

They're not legal in all states, Mass for instance.

They sell them in Louisiana. We have a store dedicated to sugar gliders. But I suggest returning him and getting Ferrets.

I've been considering getting a southern flying squirrel for two years now- do you have one?
