Well, I haven't seen it IRl so I can't say for sure, but the person claimed to have custom ordered it from a German company. I certainly don't see why it couldn't be real.

A lot of these look like they would be a bitch to clean.

I think I like this one the best. Simple, yet beautiful.

This must be hell to clean.

I feel like it's an obscenely overcrowded setup full of hybridized fish.

Am I the only one that thinks saltwater aquariums usually look bad? They're way too bright and gaudy. It's like a bunch of fireworks stuck together in a glass cube.

agreed.
i like more simple colors.

The grassy-looking stuff on the bottom of these...moss? Or some sort of actual grass?

Lower two look like dwarf chain swords. Top is too small for me to tell but it looks like an Amano tank, and he uses riccia a lot.

top is most likely glossostigma and dwarf hairgrass,
Amano-san and Oliver Knott are fucking awesome
more of olivers tanks

i have an amano style FW, and a sps/clam SW, both hella tight

pic is kinda like my SW, but on a much larger scale, my FW is driftwood, swords, and glosso

>>164945
OP: do you have a source on this? or like... a bigger file? or maybe detailed instructions on how to make it?
>> Anonymous
>>165399
I have many of amano's aquajournal magazine where he lists, I could probably dig the specs on this up but it would take awhile...but it's pretty basic

buy one of his line of expensive glass rimless tanks, buy many pounds of his expensive amano soil, pour in soil, place stones in attractive nature/zen setting to mimic some scenic setting, add some water, plant dwarf hairgrass and glosso, add rest of water, rig up CO2 injector, rig up canister filter, hang $500 tek-light T5 fixture, add 20 cardinal tetras, grow out for a few weeks, remove CO2/Filter for the pic, take pic, put CO2 and filter back on, profit...and add lots of fertilizer all the while

seeing as how the most complex fish tank i've ever had was a goldfish bowl with some colored rocks, i'd go easy on what's considered "basic." I just really like the look of that one.

HOWEVER, I AM LOOKING UP THIS "AMANO" CHARACTER. THANK YOU.

omg Noone has posted this one yet?
>> Anonymous

Ya know, if that were actually good for the fish, I'd totally get one.
>> Anonymous !yYT/u4PSNE
that is pretty sweet
>> Anonymous
>>165506

The flush tank is actually separate to the fish tank, so I'd say it's pretty safe for the fish.
>> Anonymous
>>165521

but the motion and noise around the tank, especially if the bathroom was high traffic, would not be good for the fish

and the tank itself looks pretty small, severely limiting what you could healthily house in it.. the nine goldfish or whatever pictured is purely for advertisement
>> Anonymous
>>165574
quit your bitching, so a fish dies, big deal. it's a short trip to the big flush, all the other fish get to watch and you go to the pet store and buy another fish. Win win situation.

I don't see a point in this. It's not like you go in to your bathroom often or stay long, so why have a fish tank there? You wouldn't get to enjoy it much.
>> Anonymous
The only think I can think looking at any of these is "that is way too many fish for a tank that size." (minus the planted ones with the cardinal tetras)

Where do I get info on live plants+fish in the tank? Ive got a 50 gallon I need to do something with and I was thinking salt water.
>> Anonymous
>>166477
plants and saltwater? that's exclusive.
>> Anonymous
you saying that plants are freshwater only? whats saltwater then coral only? is it possible to have coral and fish or will the fish screw up the coral
>> Anonymous

What goes into the dirt/sand or whatever that is the grass grows in? How hard is it to maintain? Is there a site for this thats around?
>> Anonymous
>>166495
yes, if you want green plants, you need a freshwater tank.
Corals or living stone are saltwater.
Although, you could of course plant seaweed in your saltwater tank, never seen it before though.
Anemonae and the likes are common though.

>>166502
You can use sand or gravel for the ground.
This will depend on the plants or fish you want to keep.
Some fish need sand for filtration for example.
It is advised to put a layer of special fertilizer under the sand/gravel.
Dennerle or JBL offer such.
If you want to go high tech you can put a heating cable under all this.
It will produce a current in the sediment and keep the roots warm.
