Anybody here grow Orchids? I have a nice greenhouse growing a bunch of 'chids, with the majority being of the Vandaceous variety.

Picture is of a V. Gordon Dillon 'Lea' that bloomed for me a couple months or so ago.

orchids are amazing flowers. First flower I've ever seen that's *Actually* green.

Wow, that was a shot in the dark, and I doubted I would see someone else in 4chan like orchids. Yeah, they have some amazing flowers, will throw a few of my favorite flowers I have photographed over the years up for ya.

This is Asconopsis Irene Dobkins ‘Elmhurst’, which is a weird cross between an ascda. and phal., which has some interesting flowers for a vandaceous growing plant.

Speaking of green flowers, this is one of my Catt's.

It is Blc. Hawaiian Passion 'Carmela'.

This is a cross between Vanda Pranerm Ornete x V. tessellata, and is just a monster bloomer for me. It blooms a couple times a year, and never fails to throw out multiple spikes at a time.

This one is called Vanda Crownfox Keylime, and I really like the soft tones with light red tessellations thrown in.

Ascocenda Udomchai Beauty is one of the purest red flowers I have in my greenhouse.

Ascocenda Lese's Sunshine has some great orange/yellow coloration to it, with some great red tessellation thrown in. It is a cross between Thepthong and Guo Chia Long.

This is one of my favorite and most exotic orchid I have in my greenhouse. It is Dracula Cyrano, with some really great markings on it. I wish I had a full shot of the flower so you could see the hugely long tails that accompany it, which put the whole flower at a whopping 7.5 inches tall. (The flower is about 1.5 inches though.)

I like 'em, sucks though, trying to identify the species.

Yeah, one of the hardest things to do without a good flower picture is to determine the species of the orchid in question, especially with the so many vast amounts of hybrids that are being created daily. That is definately a free growing (native) species, but I can't tell if it is even an orchid from the picture you supplied.

Here is another picture of an orchid that I admire alot for the vivid qualities of it's flowers, although it always seems Miltonias. love to do that to me. BTW - named Milt Bert Field 'Eileen'

Now that I look at the leaf structure, and the amount of them on the plant, I would have to guess it would be a Cymbidium, although without a close-up of the flower, it is only a guess. (They have some of the most vivid flowers you can imagine, with great neon-esque colors to them.)

Thought I would give ya'll a view on just how big a vanda could get... This particular one is nicknamed the beast in my circle, and has dwarfed the latter I had purchased a while ago... it has only gotten bigger since I have taken this picture about 8 months ago. It is in full growth mode and is shooting out new keiki's as we speak.

My bf gave me an orchid for my birthday last year. So it's about 8 months old now. I'm honestly surprised it's lasted this long, I am not good at keeping plants alive. But I love it, it's beautiful. And it's gotten so big!
