my wandering jew stop drinking Anonymous
I got a wandering jew right next to a large window, it has leaves growing along the wall following some pipes upwards, and its a few years old. Problem is that it kept growing and was all green so far, but suddenly it start to become all yellow, drop half the leaves, and the soil is all moist.
What could have happen? Its my longest living plant so far, so im not sure if thats normal. Do plants often just die suddenly after a few years? I did add some new soil to it and gave it some of that abc plant nutrition, but it doesn't seem to have any effect.

Could it be that it's in some sort of winter hibernation? Should I wait? How long? Or should I get rid of it and get a new one?

Wandering Jew is an invasive weed of bushland. It spreads rapidly, especially along creek lines and smothers everything in its path with long stems that take root at the nodes where they touch the ground. Its white flowers in summer would undoubtedly attract moths at night, meaning more food for frogs and lizards.

Hahaha, oh wow. Nice name for a plant. Quite a fitting one.

No, really, I'm sorry but I have no advice for you. But I must find out what this plant is called in my language and get one.

Well, it's summer now, so I doubt it's gone into hibernation. Wait a few weeks and prune some vines, if they are dry then the plant's probably dead.

Thre is also purple heart wandering jew, which has lovely pink flowers.

My wandering jew dies out for about two months of the year, whenever it gets hot outside and whenever it gets really cold. Basically it doesn't like extreme temp changes. Right now, it's gone into a really crappy, browny mushy look, like rotting fruit. But in a few weeks, it'll plump back up to a beautiful purple. For us, it's not a huge deal because we let honeysuckle, trumpet vines, and shamrocks grow through it, so even when it's "in a bad mood" we still have a carpet of green, red, and pink.

Snap off a leaf and see if it oozes water. If it does, it's still alive, and quit fucking watering it so much. It's not a bog plant.
