HALP! Our lakes are overflowing with oversized fish!

Not sure if there are many fisherman here on /an/, but I am just curious if other areas are seeing the thriving fish populations (and sizes) that we are getting in Saskatchewan. Global warming?

The receptionist in my office was at the lake this weekend, and her 11 year old was messing around on the shore with a "5 of diamonds" spoon.

He brought in a 10.4 pound walleye. With a spoon. From casting on the shore. If you know anythign about walleye, that is a very big sample. And a spoon on a walleye, from shore.. that is unreal.

But this is not remarkable. The records keep breakign and big fish are being found in every lake that were considered to be "depleted" 10 years ago.

The ice is breaking earlier these last few years, so maybe that is leading to bigger and healthier fish even in lakes not known for good fishing for the last 70 years.

Shorter and more mild winters, bigger fish, record deer and rabbit populations, and upland game birds (grouse, hungarian partridge, etc) are infesting the woodlands and even moving into the city.

This global warming is awwwwwwwwright.
