Spider I.D. MIG
Hey guys, can you identify this spider for me? it's huge and is protecting this garden from harmful bugs.

Unlikely. It's as big as as the Cicaida it bit and killed with its venom in 3 seconds. It's nearly two inches from front to back and an inch and a half from side to side.

Yellow and black argiope spider. Sometimes colloquially called the zipper (for it's web formations) or garden spider. I have them all over the place.

I had a couple of those, until the big rain. Now they're gone. I hate spiders, mind you, but these guys are cool looking, never leave their webs, and stay out of the way. They might as well be wall decorations that catch bugs.
