Little dog, big panic attacks. Anonymous
Hey guys, quick dog question. My grandma is temporarily living with us and she brought a small dog along. The dog is a Shiatsu-Pekineses mix.

We are having fun times with tons of thunderstorms and the dog goes baserk during each and every storm. Whenever the thunder starts the dog starts panting and builds up ito a tizzy, running around, yelping, etc. Anyone got an idea on what we can do to calm the dog down?

Shoot it in its yappy mouth

It easy to resolve. Put a key in the necklace of your rat and hang him in a high tree.

I had this problem with my dog. The only thing that would calm him down was if I sat with him and every time a growl started to build in his throat, give him a light swat and say HEY or sometimes CUT THAT OUT. Thunderstorms usually happen at night so it was realllly annoying. I eventually got him to the point where I could still lay in bed (he would sleep on my bed with me) and if he started to get excited I could just nudge him with my leg and he got the idea. Unless it was big thunder right overhead. In that scenario, only picking him up and holding him like you'd burp a baby could keep him quiet because it was difficult for him to bark in that position.

The dog belongs to an old lady. Discipline is pretty much in the shitter at this point, I'm assuming.

Get a muzzle.
