What does /an/on think about the mini-discussion in the red frame?

animals don't have rights in the same sense humans do
>> Anonymous
Animals having rights depends on the context of the situation. If we happened to know which youtube video this was for instance...
>> Anonymous
It's typical of the ignorance revealed when people debate subjects they do not understand on the internet. I was flamed last night for taking issue with someone who insisted that mammals are not green because they do not photosynthesise.

I think that the animals that live at those people's homes must be very unlucky. For a person to raise a dog and say he or she doesn't have any feelings or brains... They must be incredibly stupid or emotionless.
I'm with Alex.

OP here

I think the video was about a ferret playing, I don't remember the name =/

But the video is not really related to the disscusion itselft. It's just about animals feelings and rights.

stimuli responses that appeal to lower-level pack structures == emotion

Did you mean
>stimuli responses that appeal to lower-level pack structures == emotion

or

>stimuli responses that appeal to lower-level pack structures =/= emotion

It's kind of an emotion, but it's not as complex as ours. Anyways, chbrules is smart but not enough to see that what he described as stimuli responses that appeal to lower-level pack structures can be regarded as emotions.
What makes you feel happy, or sad about something are influx of certain hormones into your blood stream, and that happens with mammals, so their "emotions" should be taken into account.

Just for the record, animals like insects doesn't have these, they can't even feel pain.

OBVIOUSLY THEY DO.

If they were mammals troll...

Anyway on the whole give animals rights thing. They don't have the same level of rights as a human pure and simple and they never will. Because with our series of rights as sentient beings comes a series of responsibilities, and Animals ignore those responsibilities. If you want to give an animal full rights I say take it to court (and yes I mean take the animal to court, put it in front of a Jury of its peers and accuse it of the crime of killing its fellow ant).

It also irritates me this level of sentience == to level of cuteness, just because an animal is cute doesn't mean its smarter. I could easily argue that a colony of ants is far more intelligent than your common dog or cat (as ants act in a very collective sense)

These are Youtube comments. Why must you bring them here.

Agreed. Youtube comments have no place on 4chan.

Heck, the average chicken is smarter than a dog or a cat.

The whole conversation is retarded. Animals (Humans are animal, keep in mind) do have the same emotions than humans do, they just handle them differently. Dogs are embarrassed when they are caught doing they know they weren't supposed to be doing (so they understand that some actions lead to certain emotions in humans and react to it)
Cats (atleast mine) has learned to manipulate people to act as he wants (to let him out, to give him treats, to pet him etc) by acting in a certain manner (= purring, being friendly, getting anrgy and starting to meow loudly if people don't react the way he wants)

Yes, other animals beside humans feel the way we do, the feelings just aren't as unnnecessarily complex like ours and they don't handle them the same way humans do.

I think it's two retards arguing on the Internet over what appears to be a stupendously idiotic Youtube comment.
Two things should be noted here. The first is that neither one of these arguing retards will convince the other of anything. The second one is that you should never read Youtube comments.

Exactly what I thought upon reading the OP.

You're both faggots. Sage.
