Apparently you can make yourself some drinking water with a clear, plastic sheet. You dig a hole, and than put the sheet over it, and then put a weight in the middle. Make sure you have something at the bottom of the hole in the middle to catch the liquid. Moisture out of the air will form on the underside and drip down the surface into whatever you have to catch it.
Some cactus are spherical because that allows the lowest surface area versus volume - an important thing for a cactus.
