my cat accidentally scratched me and my two month old while using us as a launching pad to get to my other cat's tail, haha.

they're both indoor from birth and up to date on their vax. there's no redness or swelling around the scratch site, should I still be taking my kid to the doctor, /an/??

I get scratched by our cats every other day, and they take a walk outside every day. I've had those cats for 14 years, meaning I was just a kid when I was first scratched by them. To this day I have had no problems due to those scratches. Nobody with a healthy immune system should worry about such thing if there are no actual signs of infection.

Actually, getting exposed by small amounts of bacteria is GOOD for the developing immune system of children. Too much hygiene leads to allergies.

All cats have bacteria under their claws, vacs dont matter, keeping the litter boxs clean and sanitizing the scratches *immediately* after they happen will minimize the irritation (if you get it) but usually its closer to an allergic reaction than an infection.

TL;DR Dont sweat it, shouldn't be a problem

Truth. All kids should eat a spoonful of dirt every day.

My cat tore my lip open when I was trying to give it a bath. Washed it out with soap and put a bandaid on it and it was fine.

You're both going to turn into zombies soon.

That's not how it works! If you get scratched by a zombie, you turn into a zombie. If you get scratched by a cat, you turn into... a cat, I guess.

Get your kid to the vet ASAP!

What kind of cat do you have? Don't you know that some breeds have venom sacs in their paws and its delivered through their claws???
If your child appears to be hyperactive or becomes really sedentary and only watches TV all day then there might be something wrong!!!

Based on the photo, it looks to be a darkpawed stripeback moggie. Those things have neurotoxin glands in their paws! The toxin is not very strong, so it often causes no symptoms in adults but it maybe deadly to children under six years of age. The best way to tell if your baby is affected by the neurotoxin is to watch for such symptoms as unintelligible or stuttering speech.

Cat may begin to turn into a small child.
