Hey /an/, my cats keep destroying my window blinds. Is there any -non-cruel- device to keep them from destroying the blinds?

Any special blinds you recommend? I'm hoping I won't have to get steel to prevent them from destroying them. And I would like them to be able to enjoy sitting in the window still.

I've considered venetian blinds, but as those are long dangling strips, I think it would just tempt them to attack and pull those down from the bottom.

Mine don't do as much damage as the ones picture, but they always come in from one side of the window, which destroys the blinds on that side. The one in my bedroom window has three blinds destroyed on the side, so they're not supported and hang loose now.

I just bought these to replace the ones they destroyed a couple months ago too.

Um, depending on the location of these blinds, you could invest in some vertical "towel rack"-type rails to keep the slat-ends close to the wall/window jamb.
If your blinds are too flexible, though, and your cat just jumps through them anway... this probably won't help much.

Expensive, but you could install those windows that have the blinds INSIDE them (double panes of glass, with blinds between).

Thoes are expensive, and the cat will some how find a way to fuck them up anyway.

first keep the blinds open unless you are in it and get them a little stool or something to sit on so they can peer through their 'TV'

Those cloth roman shades. They're better for keeping light out, and the cat can just push them aside if it wants into the window. They're cheap, too.

i have exactly the same problem,2 totally broken blinds and 3 fucked up ones later,im getting used to the light and people being able to see through my window.il take pics of their destruction later

Well, then I guess OP is screwed. Buy a bunch of cheap blankets at Goodwill and nail them to all of your windows.

God...cats are annoying and funny.

Curtains, OP, do you know about them?
>> Anonymous
Spray them with bitter apple spray, or any deoderant/perfume that smells of citrus fruits. Cats fkin hate is, it's how i stopped mine from shredding the curtains.
