That won't help. As long as your cat has seen a toilet flush he's going to think it's superior to his water bowl.

Since you don't have a cat yet though, this might work - DO NOT let your cat know that toilets have water in them until after he's already toilet trained.

ive done a lot of reading online and some articles say its best to place a bowl into the toilet, some recommend a pan. ive heard mixed reviews on the toilet training kits for sale at petsmart. anyone have experience with this stuff?

so i should keep the lid down until the step where i move the litterbox over the toilet?
i'm going to put the box right next to the toilet so he/she immediately imprints the bathroom with eliminating.

Just buy a sturdy disposable turkey pan with handles and reshape it to fit your bowl. They'll probably go on sale later this month.

Use flushable litter because you will likely spill some in your toilet.

also, if we decide to adopt 2 kitties (probable), would it be better to try and train them at the same time, or adopt one, train, then adopt another and repeat training? or would that confuse the first, already trained kitten?
any recommendations on the best age to start toilet training? thats another thing that seems to vary a lot in between articles ive read online.

bamp i wanna know too

i heard you can teach them to flush, but its not recommended because they'll do it just to do it, over and over, and can make your water bill go up. is that true?

Why even bother? They know to go in the litterbox automatically without any training.

because i have a small apartment, and keeping a litterbox in a small apartment stinks no matter how many times you clean it per day.
also, no matter what litterbox i get, or rug to put it on, every cat ive ever owned has found some scheeming way to get litter all over the place, which is the most awful thing to step on with your bare feet.
also also, i like to let my cats lay on my bed, lap, table, wherever and i dont want their paws tracking shitlitter germs all over the place.
also also also i want to be able to laugh at my family because they bought a dog, and they cant even train it to piss outside the house, no less in the toilet.
