Meet mah new ferret, Spaz.

Cute. I'd love to have one myself, but I don't have the energy to ferret-proof my whole home.

He doesn't look spazzy. =) But very cute!

No, rather Spatz for sparrow. Also a commonly used term of endearment.

OP here, we did our research on their diet before we got him, and bought him Marshal's ferret food, Furotone, and Ferrevite high calorie vitamin supplement. He should be good on food and supplements, right? Or do any of you use different supplements I should know about?

Marshalls is good. It's what I feed my 3 babies. And ferretone replaces all the other vitamins they need. Don't give them too much. Check your Ferrevite. I don't own that, but too much sugar is BAD for ferrets, so if it's basically corn syrup, make it rare.

If he's a new Marshall ferret, certainly keep him on that food for the first couple weeks. You should consider switching him, though. Marshall food has a lot of fish meal in it, which adds to the overall fert smell. Personally, I like Innova Evo, Totally Ferret (has by-products, but less stink), and 8-in-1 Ultimate Blend (white bag).

Here's an odd question: How do I tell if he's deaf or not? When he was asleep and I'd make a noise, he wouldn't respond, but he's a heavy sleeper anyway. But when he's awake and moving in his cage, I'll tap on the top of the cage or shake his jingle ball toy above him, he doesn't seem to care or respond to it. I"m pretty sure I"m just paranoid, but could it be that he might have bad hearing, or just an extreme case of ADD (signs point to that as he has an attention span of about .005 seconds)?
