can't really think of many cons honestly. they are quiet, don't take up much room, don't require too much work, and they don't smell.
one thing about "too much work" ..it's easy to care for a few and doesn't take much time..but a lot of people wind up with a bunch of them after a while..and the time need to feed and clean them all does add up.
all in all, your best bet is do read! buy a book online or just join a forum, or even just lurk around a forum and learn..all the beginner questions get asked repeatedly just like you keep seeing bikecat get posted here every day. (not that i have anything against bikecat.)
