Immune to ticks? Anonymous
Could I be immune to ticks? I go in the woods very often and I sometimes find them crawling on me but they never bite, even if I haven't used any sort of bug spray. This just happened a minute ago, but it's happened to me many times.
I'm always just sitting on the ground and walking off trail and everything. I should be covered with them!
However I'm definitely not immune to mosquitoes.

Not sure if this is true. I am no professor but as far as I know ticks can only sense that you are living, not what or what not your blood is infected with. Also, ticks are commonly known for spreading diseases.

Actually for that matter I know my sexual partner was tested negative for HIV, so one of use doesn't have it.

maybe they are ticks that don't feed on humans... you can try to make one feed in another person like your sexual partner.

It depends on the stage of the life cycle it's in, larval ticks prefer to feed on white-footed mice and nymphal ticks feed on multiple hosts besides deer and humans. All stages don't feed all the time either and you might be getting ones that are in-between and are getting ready to molt.
