Soup /an/

I got a Convict about a week ago to help cycle my crayfish tank. Everything's set up and my crayfish is doing nicely.

However, my Convict has an orange spot on it's side exactly like the one in this picture.

I have no idea what it is, is this natural? Or does my fish have worms or some sort of internal infection?

No no, "crawdaddy" is an adjective, not a noun. You go to a crawdaddy boil and eat crawdads. Crawdaddy seasoning goes on crawdads. I've heard some creole folk using crawdaddy as a plural form of crawdad, but they are weird.

In my part of the Everglades, it's crawdaddy regardless. Could just be the malaria getting to us, though.

Just because one group of people call it something, does not make it right. Australians call them Yabbies or something. Its Crayfish. The actual name, is craYfish. Silly Cajuns.

No, we only call a couple of specific species yabbies. Otherwise they're crayfish.

Fake cajuns are faaakkee. Cajun is to Creole as Darkie is to Black.

Look up Crayfish in a dictionary. Then look up Crawfish. Crawfish tells you to read Crayfish. Crawfish and Crawdad are regional names. Crayfish is the correct name.
