im new to fish keeping and i just cleaned the tank and unplugged everything cleaned the fliter and then plugged everyhing in after filling the filter. i didn't realize the filter wasn't working for a few minutes so i unplugged it and made sure it was filled all the way with water but now its not working at all?

any trouble shooting advice?

yeah, instead of cleaning the whole tank at once, get a little hand vacuum pump for 5 dollars and save your fish a whole fuckload of stress, wanker

take out the rotor/propellor thingie and clean it out. when mine failed i did that, and plugged and unplugged it repeatedly to try to "shock" it into working. hasnt failed me yet

damnit i tried that and it still doesn't work any other ideas?

Save the filter media and just buy a new filter, if you can't fix it, chances are it's shit.

is it a pot filter? If so, you got some air stuck somewhere. Suck the water up and get it running.

i see it is an aquaclear filter. Did you twist the motor off the rest of the rest of the filter? did you pull the impeller out of the motor and clean the gunk off of it?
