Poor "Peanut" Anonymous
My fiance and I foster animals from shelter until we can find good homes for them, recently we took in three kittens that had been left outside the building.

Peanut was a calico who was born without a tail, not a manx cat...just missing vertebra at the end of her spine.

She loved to sit with me and when I wouldn't pick her up she would just stare and sometimes whimper. She got to where she could run in short bursts but usually just wobbled around.

But due to Peanuts defect she cannot control her bladder or release fecal matter. She would have to have an enema daily and would never be able to control her urination.

Peanut is getting put down tonight and everyone that took care of her is very sad, I just thought /an/ would be able to cheer me up.

Peanut had a very comfortable week and a half out her three week life. I am sure she would have grown up to be a very pretty little girl.

Awww.. Peanut was lucky to have such a loving caregiver, I think you're doing the right thing, who knows what other painful problems might come up should she continue to live in her state... Hope she lucks out in the next round of reincarnation roulette.

I truly feel for you, OP.
We foster cats too and recently had one that we almost lost due to dehydration. Her name is Peanut too, she made it and is living with a new family. But, we have had our losses along the way too. We can't save them all, and it can be hard, but fostering makes a difference! A pic of another peanut...cute!
