Pee Anonymous
Ok, I got a kitten a month or so ago, and so far everything is pretty good.
Kitty uses her litter box frequetly...but still she pees all over my bed. At first I thought it was maybe because she was lonely when I went to work, but TWICE now she has done it in front of me, looking right at me! And it's the only place she does it too...I figure maybe it's a territory thing...no idea. I'm gonna try a few things: Moving her litter box away from her food ( i heard they don't like to eat where they go to the bathroom...makes sense ) and cleaning out the litter box more frequently (was doing it every other day).
Any suggestions? Anyone have the same problem?

It's a good chance that you are screwed. Typically, if a cat can detect any traces of bodily fluids on something, they assume that it is okay to pee on, which is why lots of cats pee on matresses. Now that there is the odor of cat urine on it (which kitty will detect even though you have cleaned it), she will probably continue to pee there. Other than your other suggestions below (which may help the issue) and throwing out the mattress, I recommend keeping her out of your bedroom, if you can, or treating the mattress or area around the bed with a product specifically made to repel pets. Four Paws Co. used to make one available in pet stores. I believe it was called PetAway or PetStop or something similar. I used it on furniture and it worked wonders for me.

I had the same problem, I solved it by getting rid of the cat. Easy enough and now I don't wake up in the middle of the night after working for 12-14 hours a day with cat piss all over me. Oh and my sinuses cleared up too.

Try spraying the area with vinegar and water. I was googling this the other day (used a phrase like "cats vinegar spray" or something).

It is a smal kitten? Adult cats can do in this way if tey are horny. Pills or surgery mai help in this case. But pills during long time can give brast canser.

I looked up some different brands (ie: "Scram") and hopefully that will help.

Also going to try vinegar idea...and I read that they don't like the smell of lemon (which I do enjoy...so I'll try that first)

About 2 months old now.

Thanks.

I hear that a vinegar-water combo will do the trick. Put it in a spray bottle and mist it over the area. Supposed to be more vinegar than water.

Try smacking your kitten on the nose and saying "NO" That works with my cats (until you turn your back)
