Is anyone else excited for this show? It's going to be on the Discovery Channel. Look it up on youtube. Anyway, I thought I'd post this here instead of /tv/ because the show's primarily about animals anyway.

Yes, it looks epic. I was looking around online and saw that it was already aired in the UK, but Canada already, too? I'm here in the US and it isn't coming out until the 25th. You can access torrents of it, but I know I'd want the whole series and it's just too much space. :-\

This documentary series (11 parts) is almost finished in the finnish TV. Just loved it! Amazing stuff. They've used some HD technology while filming it. A big cheer for David Attenborough for this one. I thought of applying for an university to study biology, forest ekology to be exact. Thought of going into the entrance exam with a white shirt with Attenborough's face printed in the back...

The HD versions of this show were made of awesome and win. I could almost feel my balls fly off with some of the camera flybys. I bet some people would feel shivers watching the fungi grow from the insects in HD though.

ITT Nature documentaries are the best thing that the TV has to offer. Besides the stuff they show is forged in the mt. Awsome, you can actually learn stuff from them. And there is nothing better than wake up in a saturday morning with a hangover and turn on the tv for nature documentary.. ok there is, but that's one of the best things ever.

Since this is a BBC program, and the BBC in the UK doesnt air adverts. I am just wondering what they are going to cut out to be able to show the adverts in America.
>> Anonymous
They (as in the people in BBC) won't do it. If the American broadcasters want to buy this series, BBC sends it to them and they do their own advertisements. That's how it always works.

Oh man, this shit IS epic. Maybe I'm biased, because I generally like documentaries, but wow. This series is really exciting. It's totally worth the time to sit down and watch all of it.

But still, the American viewer will be missing a good 15-20 minutes of the program. Even though it takes up alot of HD space, I really do recommend you download it.

That fungi shit was awesome.
From Wiki:

2 entertain, which publishes and distributes BBC DVDs, has announced plans for a HD DVD release in 2007.[8] Blu-ray and HD DVD versions will go on sale in the USA on 24 April 2007, just after the series concludes its run on the Discovery Channel.[9]

Hell yeah, I'm edumacate me some chillins wit dem non-boring type documentaries. Animals n' shit, always catches a kids eye.
>> MasterChief3000
Also I noticed, different narrators.

In the USA, the series is to broadcast on the Discovery Channel, starting 25 March 2007. The episodes will be shown in a different order to the original. The U.S. version will also feature a new narrator: award-winning actress and conservationist Sigourney Weaver. However, the DVD release that follows transmission of the series in America will be the original UK version, with narration by David Attenborough.

Luckily for the DVD release we get the "Old chap" voice back which I thought was better anyway.

Hahaha! It's always so nice to notice that other people too think "the old chap" works better than anything else. Even thoug women sometimes fit in nicely I still think that no one can compete with Attenborough. Also I remember I liked Custeau very much...

I shat bricks just watching the commercials for this on Discovery HD. Can't wait.

25 million budget. I cant find out if Attenborough will be featured on the HD-DVD version or possible later versions will feature Attenborough, Sigourney is okay, but I prefer the old veteran. What would be nice is if we were able to choose between the two.

Planet Earth? Hey, I've been there!
