So I'm moving into a new house next year, and when that happens, I'm getting a new dog.
I've only had small dogs all my life, so I'm excited about getting a bigger one.
But what I really wanna know is, what breed most resembles a wolf? Because I'm after one of those.

Today I saw a black wolf like dog. It was freaking awesome(I regret not stealing it). Then later on (like 15 mins later) I saw this beautiful white one and the guy who was walking it also had a normal colored German Shepard with him so I'm guessing the white one could have been one too.

Whatever they are, solid black or white dogs that have a wolf like appearance are the best damn looking dogs ever.

Probably GSD, they look pretty wolf-like. For some reason the white ones tend to have shorter fur (as does our current black one, who had white siblings), whereas others (like our first GSD and the brown one) have longer fur. The shorter fur tends to give an appearance more like the wolf in OP pic.

Don't get a wolf hybred. They are crazy motherfuckers.

Get one of these.
Theres a reason german shepherds are drug sniffing dogs, police dogs, AND seeing eye dogs.
The black and white varieties are fucking gorgeous too.

You probably don't have enough experience for a hybrid. Get a German Shepherd.

Huskies are the closest breed to actual wolves. I owned one once, and she never barked.. But whenever I'd start howling she'd throw back her head and howl too. They're difficult to train, like to dig, and will most likely run away. Huskies need to be kept contained, so you NEED an enclosure or to keep them tied up.

wut? thats messed up. why would anyone keep one if you had to force it to live with you?

They're dogs, but close enough to wolves that they still have alot of the same instincts.. Roaming around being one of them. By the same logic people shouldn't have indoor cats because they're being 'forced' into staying.

It's for their own safety, durr. Unless you want to buy a dog just so it can wander onto the road and get hit.

wolf hybrids are like this too. father in law's got 2. one of them will jump then fence as soon as it's dark and then either go roam around the neighborhood or sit on the front porch. sometimes she'll get out during the day is no one is home

My current dog is a Border Colly / lab mix and its the smartest dog I've ever had. Before that I had a lab which was an amazing dog as well.

Real wolves are illegal to own. They're considered a wild animal and as suck can be unpredictable companions. That being said my sister owned a rotty / wolf mix. CRAZY ass dog but was a loving dog. I enjoyed him a lot.

In lines of Wolf like dogs I think thats been said already. Keep in mind Huskies need A LOT of exercise... Think about that one before you ask why if you were doing to ask.

Whichever breed you decide be careful when you do get it. Its best if you dont get it from the pound you meet both the mother and the father of the dog and get a good idea of how they where brought up. You can tell a lot about a dog by its parents and how its going to be later on.

After dealing with a lot of dogs of different breeds (I worked in a kennel for a while) my favorite breed is a golden retriever. Although never owning one myself I have yet to meet one I didn't like. My grandparents have had one for almost 10 years now and I've gotten to know that one pretty well but I like I said... I've yet to meet one I didn't like and they're a beautiful dog.

I've got little time atm and am not going to proof read this so if it doesn't flow right my bad. In a hurry. Hope this helps and gl w/ the new dog.
