Do dog whistles work on cats? I am trying to break my cat of meowing endlessly any time he wants access to something like say a room we do not want him in. Considered a water gun even but he is not always in my line of sight when he pulls this shit.

Tried yelling hissing he stops for a second looks at me then starts back as soon as he seems me go back to what I was doing. I even angrily chase him away from the place he is meowing at he returns in less than 3 minutes.

Tried that too and yes he will eventual give up bit later he returns and starts all over. These sessions can go on 10 to 20minutes and sometimes happen when I am trying to sleep.

apply hand vigorously upside cats head.

failing that get a cat carrier, put food, water and a litter box in it, lock cat in it in a closet somewhere when it's being a pain in the ass.

the key here being your cat neither respects nor fears you and so will do what it wants because it thinks you are it's bitch.

he fears me in that I have hit him for this before and knows when he is doing this to take off running when he hears me get up. Even chasing him down and hitting him. The problem is a house mate gives in and grants his request feeling sorry for him.

The isolating him idea I started this today since he runs when I get up he will run to a back room where I then closed him in.

My male cat ignores it.

The female comes at you running.

The dog's ears perk.

The snake just sleeps.
