Do red claw crabs and fiddler crabs not move much? they are alive but alot of time they just sit there, I don't mind I just want to be sure they are ok. Pic not of mine but of crabchan

From what I've seen, they don't move around a lot. What kind of setup do you have for them? The most active I've seen crabs get is when they're in a tank that isn't all the way full with stuff they can climb onto. You know, get up there and wave their claws around and be cool.

it was mostly full of water with a few ways of getting out but i dont think the poor things realized this so i set it up to where half of the tank is out of water along with the top of the treeroot inside(they are currently under this)

Sounds like it's set up okay then. What about the water temperature? I'm not even sure what crabs need. Do you have a heater? Cool water seems to be the most common cause of lethargy in aquatic critters, but like I said, I don't know exactly what crabs need. I'll take a look.

Me again. I just glanced at a couple of pages; 75-85F is what everything seems to say and I'd think your tank could stay at that temp even without a heater.. so maybe that's not it.

Do you add aquarium salt to your water? Sounds like red claw and fiddler crabs both prefer brackish water.
