My Ferret (pictured) is dieing of what I believe to be anemia. A side from a blood transfusion, is there anything I can do to help him, or at least curb his suffering?
Why do you think he has anemia? If he does, try to get some iron into him somehow--that's what they do for humans.
He has thinned dramatically, lost appetite, increased the stench in his scent glands, "screams", and foams from the mouth.
Sounds like Insulinoma. You need to get in contact with a ferret friendly vet if you havnt done so already. There's a few steps you can take. Surgery to remove the tumors and or medical treatment for older ferrets. Is he losing fur also? Could also have adrenal. But you really need to talk to a vet that knows about ferrets.
>>332477Me again. Btw if your ferret starts seizing again "screaming etc". Rub some Karo syrup on his gums quickly (with a q tip so he doesnt accidently bite you) or honey if you dont have any karo. But you really need to get him to a vet. Insul isnt a death sentence. If you get him looked at and get surgery fast enough he can still live many more years comfortably without meds even.Make sure hes eatting google duck soup recipes for ferrets.
tl;dr take it to the vet op
It's things like this that makes me not believe in god. I mean look at the furry little thing, does he deserve to suffer? Poor little guy.
