Wondering if anyone can tell me what the hell this is, am from England if it helps, was roughly the size of a 10p piece, can't recall seeing anything like it before so was strange to see sitting in middle of bed...
Slightly clearer pic.
It's a bug.
>>149407That was our correspondent, Anonymous, reporting to you live from our"No Shit, Sherlock"Department...
>>149414....and here's an update from our "Keep diggin', Watson" branch.
It appears to be a wasp of the family Ichneumonidae. They are a wide and diverse family of parasitic wasps, with somewhere around 80,000 species suspected to exist worldwide. They are known for laying their eggs in the still-living bodies of caterpillars, which are parasitized by the emerging young.Their stinger doubles as an ovipositor, and as such, they do not have a defensive stinger as other wasps do.

I think it's a crane fly, we have them in the western US too. Damn things always try to eat my PBJ sandwiches while I'm eating.
>>149401it does indeed look like a cranefly. my english comrade says they're called daddy long legs in the uk though.
That is a catapillar wasp , we get them in lowestoft, UK all the time horrible little bastards aswell , they land on said catapillar sting it (like the pic) and inject its wasp eggs into it , as the larvae grow they eat the catapillar from the inside out till they're ready to fly off and onto your bed sheets. Not sure if they can do the same to humans but i don't wanna be the one to find out.
>>149882That is definatley not a cranefly. YOU CAN SEE ITS STINGER FOR CHRISSAKES. Crane flies don't hve stingers. Their abdomen is much narrower. They're gray rather than reddish. their legs are much longer...etc.It's definatley something from Ichneumonidae.
THIS is a cranefly. Not particularly dangerous, but still creepy as fuck.
>>149987That's a big one, I've only seen them half that size, probably because I live in Denmark.
Whatever it is, kill the fucker.
looks like one of the braconidae?
Why do bugs always have to fly up in my shit? I mean... use some of the rest of the airspace that I'm NOT occupying... fag.
>>150234I've seen them even bigger here in Yorkshire. Fucking creepy how they float so slowly...
I like horse vagina.
>>151022Good job, falseme.
