I picked this guy up on the way home from the middle of the road. I'd like to send him off to my local State Park, but I can't do that until the weekend. What can I feed this guy in the meantime to make sure he stays ok?

I think that'll do it. I've got plenty here. Thanks.

Is this some kind of shit meme around here?

Feed it more turtle, for that double-juiced-in turtle goodness.

looks like a painted turtle from the pic, in which case it'll eat a broad spectrum of dark green, leafy veggies as well as worms and fish (suggest guppies... more expensive than feeder goldfish, but better, nutritionally). Assuming it IS a paint, it needs 20+ gallons of fresh, clean water, a basking rock/platform, and a heat lamp able to raise the temperature of the basking area to at least 85 degrees.

He has some red in the bottom areas of his shell. By that I mean, the area his head and front arms stick out. I have plenty of greens I can give it, but things like fish I do not. I can use a few old blocks from the back and break them up to make a heat rock or whatever and just leave him out in the sun during the day. Would that work? Like I said, it's just for a few days, but I'd like to make it as comfortable for him as possible.

Dark leafy greens (iceberg lettuce is SHIT) and maybe some low fat dog food if you have it around. Something with some protein. Cooked egg is fine, too.

thanks man.

He seems fine now. He is finally sticking his head out and moving about.

He seems to be at home now. He threw all the dirt i gave him as a shore in the water. so i guess he came from a very muddy habitat. as long as he is happy. I threw in some new dirt so he can have a dry place to chill. also, i think i caught him eating a lizard from my backyard.

if he is an aquatic turtle you may want to try goldfish, a bit more water and a log/rock that has a flat surface he can exist onto.

I've got him hanging out in the front yard to bask in the morning sun. He was stretching his head around to get some of the greens i left for him. He seems to be ok and I am happy.
