Hello, /an/

This is my new kitten, Orange. He's very clingy. In fact, he's pawing the screen as I am typing this.

He's potty trained but wouldn't go take a shit in his litter box unless I was there watching him. He meows if I'm not by his side, watching him take a dump.

My previous cat wasn't like this. So I'm wondering, how do I make him more independent?

His new automatic litter box just arrived. It would suck if I had to follow him then watch him do his business but he's so cute ;_;

What do you mean by "automatic litt;e box"? And I have a cat just like yours who is very clingy. If you want him to be mor eindependant, just give it time. Maybe shut up out of your room sometimes. He'll eventually egt used to it and start wanting some alone time too.

Obviously a litter box that can fire more than one round with only 1 pull of the trigger.

Completely irrelevant but D'AWWWWWWWWWWWWW.

Do you try watching him shit, and then slowly backing out of the room?

I seriously just laughed until there were tears in my eyes.

But no, an automatic litter box often refers to a litter box with a self-cleaning mechanism that scoops up kitty droppings automatically. My cats had one and completely destroyed it. Generally, they're only good if you have one cat. Three cats apparently have more combined excrement than one of those things can handle.

How old is he? He might not be quite ready for independent living quite yet, if he's under 12 weeks old.
