Alligator Lizard
Anonymous File :-(, x)
If you ever want the tank to hold water again - stay away from gnawing rodents. They will destroy the seams that run along the edges of the glass panes.
I would suggest an Alligator Lizard or another Skink-type reptile. They are tough, dry and generally easy to care for. You do need to invest in a good UV light and calcium dust, though.
Alligator Lizards shed their entire skins in one piece like snakes. They can grow upwards of two feet in length and they live for around 18 years or so. They are very aggressive towards food and it's fun to feed them prey they can chase around - like farm-grown cockroaches, beetles and when they get very large - mice. They can be tamed with a little effort and once comfortable with you will cling to your arm and wrap their prehensile tale around it.
