Need goldfish help please! C
Where I work, we have a pond with a goldfish. He's very special to us because he's been there for 7-10 years or more. Just yesterday I noticed a spot on his head. I had my boyfriend come take a look at it, because he knows a lot about fish. He said it was some sort of fungus, but couldn't identify it, saying it will eventually kill the fish. It's a white area on his head, and in the middle is a small round greyish spot. Is there anything I can do that might cure it..??

There should be some powder you can pick up at the pet store for it... Several of my fish came down with something similar, and when I used the powder it cleared right up. :)

Bleach usually does quick work of any form of fungus. Try that.

I guess, as he is about 10 years, he's quite big and sturdy.
I had oscars some years ago and they got fungi, I simply scooped them up and gently scraped it off with a split wooden chopstick and dabbed the area with a salt/water solution before putting them back. And all was well, the fungi was gone and never cave back and my oscars lived happily ever after.
I would not recommend this with smaller fish though, as it could harm them seriously.

My fish came down with something similar, and the pet store just gave me a bottle of blueish liquid to pour into the water. A few weeks later, it was gone completely. Try going to the pet store.
