well eventually the rest of the hair will mat
i have a "fiesty" cat that ive had to clip down before myself since i know she would maul the groomer
and if he is really that bad, i wouldnt bother taking him to the groomers because if he gets "fiesty" with them not only will they not do him, they'll probably charge you for the grooming anyways
its not like a dog where you can put a muzzle on them, if you get bit by one you HAVE to go to a vet, and since thier skin isnt attached to thier muscle, they can pretty much flail thier way out of anything
long story short, get a few people to hold him down, get a pair of CLIPPERS (motorized ones with blades, like you would use on your hair)and use a 30 or 40 blade, not scissors, get a few people to hold him down, and run the clippers parallel to the skin. Do NOT dig in with the blade, run it flat against the skin, and if the blade catches a mat, DONT force it, back the clipper out and work at it until you get the mats out. When cats get cut thier skin rips open like paper so be careful but its nothing to be really scared about. As long as your careful you should be fine
my cat looks like she has mange half of the time because of the chunks of hair i have to cut out. whatever. lol
