Puppy Anonymous
I recently got a lab puppy. This is my first dog. Anything I should know about?

never mind, I sat on it

You should know lab puppies contain powerful amounts of cuteness.

They like the taste of chocolate, but don't let them eat it. It could lead to a serious case of death.

As opposed to a nonserious case of death.

I give my dog chocolate. only very small amounts though... oh and he also eats onions and brocollis.

My dog will eat anything. My earlier comment about chocolate included the word "could" for a reason.

If you have a large dog and you give it a small amount of chocolate, like all poisons, it's probably not enough to do anything. If you have a tiny dog and you give it an even smaller amount of chocolate, it still will probably be fine. My dad used to feed our cocker spaniel the outer shell of those ice cream drumstick things until I told him it's not good for the dog.

I don't understand people who brag about poisoning animals.

Like, "Oh hey guys, I poisoned my dog with chocolate, but he's fine! I'll try it again tomorrow hurhur, who knows what's going to happen!"

And 17 years later, bam dead dog.

Theobromine poisoning. It also happens to people, it's just harder to do; it's poisonous to all mammals, as far as I can tell. You can feed a dog small amounts of chocolate---keep it under 1/2 g-chocolate per 1kg of dog of "candy-chocolate---and they'll be fine. (The same is not true of cats.) We used to give my dog five or six of those tiny hershey-kisses (the loose ones from the bag), she always enjoyed it and never got sick. Just like any treat, don't do it every day and don't go overboard.

I think if you already have the puppy, you should know everything important too. If you don't, nice thing for the puppy...

They pee everywhere.

Start feeding it cats from an early age, or it will never learn...
