I found a juvenile western threadsnake on the sidewalk and headed towards the road last night so I scooped it up and brought it home. It's similar in size to the pic, but black. I know I can't keep it alive in captivity, but anyone know where I should let it go? I can't seem to find any termites around here. Would I be killing it if I released it near an argentine ant nest?

That's a fucking worm, dude.

Termites really aren't that hard to find. Go to a wooded area and look through rotted wood. When you find them put them in a bucket with cardboard.

If you're going to let it go then let it go in an area like where you found it. It can find it's own food.

I live in the suburbs and found it on the sidewalk down the street, across from a house being fumigated. There aren't a lot of wooded areas around. It's chaparrel and dead lawngrass.

Let it go in the biggest vacant lot you can find or in a moist place in your yard.
