Sup /an/,I've lurked tons of ferret threads and websites because in a few weeks I'm going to get two ferrets. I read up about basic 'weasle proof' rooms and procedures and was wondering if you all had any extra tips on preparing a room for a pair of ferrets.Picture unrelated, it's my cat from when he was a kitten.
Also, websites with tons of ferret pictures are welcome, as are owner pictures.
2 litters, a hinding spot, lots of games (cat balls, a sock, a drying machine tube,) lots of bedding (basket, blanket, pillow, hammock), food, water.. ;) One my ferrets ! (pic)
don't leave them around any remote controls or anything with rubber buttonsI took care of a ferret for a friend for a few months and he ate all the buttons off my mp3 player :*(
Also cords and electronics of any kind ar a no no. My friend's ferrets ( all three of them) terroize electric cords.
the biggest thing is to just make sure theres no holes in furniture or things to choke on in their room, and to watch them for the first few weeks when theyre out of their cage and then just remove anything they get into.and be warned, ferrets seem to get sick a lot. ive had 4 ferrets die, and only 2 were over 6 years old.
My friend has had a lot of ferrets. The number escapes me now. But they do get sick often. The easiest way to keep them healthy is to give then the right diet ( although her first ferret was a frat house pet and lived off of jelly beens, beer and sprite for like 10 years @_@). Fresh fuit is always good.Try picking up Ferrets for Dummies, it's actually a prety good guide.
lol goodluck with your escape artists.but really, they're cute.but they're sneaky and deceiving as well.which kinda adds to the cute a little.
