Hello /an/

I sort of have a problem. A little brown mouse(I don't know if there's more than one) has decided to take up residence in my room. To be honest, I really dont mind. I think he is cute. He's been here for a few months at least, and he hasn't really bothered me. I've only actually seen him about 3 or 4 times. The problem is, I live with my mother and she is terrified of the poor little guy. So, I have to get rid of him, somehow.

What's the best way to catch this mouse without harming him? I would like to release him somewhere nice(well, as nice as I can find in NYC). Which brings me to another question. Where would be an ideal place to release him? I mean he'll probably get eaten regardless, but would any old park just do?

A leather shoe. I caught countless mice this way. They will crawl into it, if you chase em.

Don't use cheese as bait for a mouse trap. Use a piece of cracker with some peanut butter on it, you want it to eat something solid so you're sure it'll set off the trap from the motions.

she's not your real mother anyway

You can buy very effective humane mousetraps that catch mice with no harm, and they're inexpensive. Pic related. Try hardware or home-improvement stores.

As for where to release the mouse, pretty much anywhere will do. If it's one thing mice do well, it's survive! So, yes, any old park is just fine. I would put him somewhere away from people, if you can do that.
