I am thinking of adopting a pet rodent. I've owned many already - hamsters, mice, chinchillas, guinea pigs, rats, etc.I'm looking for an animal I can pet and perhaps let run around without making a huge mess (preferable dry feces).I'm leaning towards something new like a hedgehog or perhaps a ferret. What is anons favorite pet rodent and why does it make a good pet?
In before "Op is an idiot" and "Mustelids."
Ferrets are annoying, smelly, crabby, horrible and bite like you wouldn't believe. Enjoy your furry sausage.
I nominate mousemonkeycat.
Yay for ignorant retards! They keep /an/ fun. Also, OP, dogs are by far the best type of pet rodent. Much nicer than hedgehogs, rabbits, turtles, ferrets, kangaroos or other animals with gnawing incisors.
ferrets are VERY active and you need to play with them a LOT, hedgehogs aren't as fun but ferretes use squeak toys and play fetch.
Ferrets have nasty wet shit. Also they have to crap immediately every time they wake up.
Ferrets are fine as long as you keep their cages clean. And they're very loving.
Ferrets are ursids!

FERRETS AND HEDGEHOGS ARE NOT RODENTS, RETARD.Protip: Don't get an animal if you don't even know what the fuck it is.
Hedgehogs are just hamsters with quills. Both options suck.

Ferrets are great but they are a lot of work.If you change their bedding out often, keep their litter box clean and bathe them you can cut the smell way down. The downside is that they don't live terribly long, and it's heartbreaking to see them go.All three of mine died of cancer.
Every ferret I've ever known sleeps in the litter box and shits in the food dish.Every single time. They're also annoying as hell and smell bad.
