To all the people who will refuse to evac...

DUMBASS

You are risking your own life, and the lives of the people who will either have to rescue you or alternately, dig your bloated body out of the wreckage.

20 foot storm surge is what they are saying on CNN. GTFO.

This doesn't make you brave, it makes you an EEDIYOT.

Played any games? Raid leader calls evac, you stfu and EVAC. Damn skippy.

no, on second thought, I take it back, stay right where you are. You are a brave shining example of manhood.

Praise Darwin.

BUT HURRICANES ARE FUN!

Lawl. You "may" face "certain" death.
But srsly, I've been in a bad hurricane before and it was no joke, it took 3 guys to keep the door from blowing in, and we didn't have the storm surge to worry about on top of the wind... get out of there

Last time I evacuated Galveston we didn't even get hit. But one person did die when one of the bars burned down, they were trying to steal from it at the time.

Lol we may be close to the coast, but still 100 miles inland. The surge won't reach here. It'll blow 30-45mph the first few hours picking up to 60-75mph with occasional gusts over 80mph in it's peak.Houses can withstand that I'm sure.

OP directed this at Galveston 4channers. And yeah, coastal guys SHOULD be getting the fuck out.

But Houston? Big deal. Some places are gonna flood and we'll likely be without power for a while, but unless you're surrounded by half-dead trees and your house is made out of straw, I really don't think there's anything to worry about. I won't be sweating it unless Ike decides to brew up a tornado to drop on us. For the most part, we're far enough in that making landfall will have taken all the oomph out of Ike before he actually gets here.
