Hey /an/, I'm just curious, but can dogs digest bones? (Not planning on trying this, just wondering.)
>> noko
yes they can digest your penis, so anal or vaginal sex is much safer than oral.

BONES, not BONERS.

I take it you guys missed out on the bestiality thread?

Yes, they can, we humans can too (but chew it is harder), the problem is that some domestic dogs are too stupid and swallow big pieces of bone with may cause internal damage.

Give him a cow femur, it should be safer than a chicken.

Brisket bones cause far fewer problems.
I've seen ordinary "dog bones" sold at butcher stores splinter into needle-sharp pieces. Before knowing about brisket bones, my dog once got bloody diarrhea and passed the needle-sharp pieces in his stool. Needless to say, I stopped giving "dog bones."
Also - you should feed your dog before giving him bones. He will take more time to chew properly!

A dog boner thread on 4chan??? Now I've heard it all.

The type of bone you're trying to feed your dog is important. Poultry, or any bird, bones are hollow and fragile, so they splinter easily. Splintering bones are harmful to your dog. Rawhide is always a good choice, but yeah, if you're gonna give it a bone, go for beef or pork.

Go to the meat department of your local supermarket or a nearby meat market and ask for a package of soup bones. It's usually a buck or two for three or four bones. Cook them up in the oven then give one to your dog and freeze the others. They are good thick bones which don't break easily (if at all, I have yet to see one break) and they have some good stuff on them. Just don't let your dog chew on the carpet...

Actually I heard that cooking the bones is worse, because not only does it remove nutrients but it also makes the bones splinter more easily.

Maybe it would be better just dry the bones (so they will rot slower) dry it in the oven.

My dog once ate a bunch of t-bone steaks off the table, he ate some bones too. Then came the diarrhea, i almost passed out from the stench.

Beef and pork are okay, they chew them up nicely, they're also good for their teeth. Never give them poultry, as others have said they splinter easily.
