My pug of 8 years just died last night. This dog was my closest family member and friend.I am trying to figure out what went wrong. I took him to the Vet on Wednesday because I thought he was sick and he had difficultly moving. The Vet thought it was leukemia and ordered all these blood tests and xrays. After it was all done I take him back home and on Thursday I take him back to the Vet for another check up to see how the tests went. The Vet said there was no leukemia, but he had Hypothyroidism. They gave him a blood transfusion and some steriod shoots and put him in a oxygen cage to help him breathe better. I leave him there to go get some of his toys and things because we were going to move him to this 24hour pet hospital where they could watch him during the night. When I get back to the Vets to pick him up, the Doc comes out and tells me, he died while I was gone.WTF happened. He had no health problems. His liver and heart and everything was fine. He wasn't over weight, and I feed him the good health food for dogs. This happen to anyone else????????????
Yeah, I belive that some doctors make up shit, or kill your animals to make a bigger profit.
Probably genetic.
no matter how healthy an animal is problems can still arise due to genetics or pathogens
>>314233Doctors aren't gods and no pet lives forever.Pugs have a tendency to go early. You did nothing wrong and yes it happens a lot.My neighbour has had serveral pugs and none ever got older than ten.
Sorry for your loss, anon.Big hug.
These dogs are the result years and years and years of selective breeding. They're bound to have some genetic defect.
