Interesting idea. But what would you call a crossbreed of a towel and mop dog?

yes because nothings says "cute" like a hideous deformity accomplished by vigorous inbreeding of sick animals.

i fucking hate people and forced breeding. kill yourselves you fucking faggots who call themselves friends of animals and at the same time support sickness and pain of said animals.

How about breeding tigers and lions? you gonna tell a liger its a sick freak?

...No ethical breeder in their right mind does that.

Name one fucking breed that has something like that in its standard.

If we're talking cat breeds: the pushface persians and sphinxes.

If we are talking dogs, bulldogs and pugs, to mention two.

None of these breeds would survive without constant human care and enforced breeding.

Breeding professionally and to a standard definitely has its issues and problems, but don't just cast off the whole idea like that. At the very least, it provides a way to adopt a dog, know its temperament before-hand, and also makes for refutable people who take the breeding as a career, unlike puppy-mills. At least dogs are being raised carefully and lovingly, and not indiscriminately or in shitty conditions. Many breeders also tend to screen possible homes carefully before even selling the pup, to make sure it's a good home. You won't get that at a pet shop in Chinatown, nor at the pound.
I'll always prefer mutts and all, but you're a shit-face for being so bitter about a career path that isn't evil in the least.

A problem, not the standard.

It's not a part of the standard to for the animal to have those conditions. My mother was a Shar-Pei breeder for 15 years, and not every line had those problems. Part of being a good breeder is identifying lines with those problems and avoiding them, and breeding away from them.

>>329051

We're breeding Sphynx now, and pretty much the only problem that they all inevitably have is getting chillier than other cats. But it's pretty much like the way a naked human is sensitive to the elements. You can put sweaters on them and give them heating pads. It's really cute.

There are very few places on the Earth where a Sphynx cats would not go extinct in a matter of years. A warm sewer perhaps. Their condition is not comparable to humans, because we are much, much larger, and thus better at retaining heat. We also know how to make clothing and build fires. All humans living in conditions where life is possible without clothing also have a lot of melanin, something a Sphynx cat does not have. Thus, like caucasians, they would get sunburnt even if they avoided moving at night because of the cold.

>>329105

Cats do have melanin. You're right about them not tanning, though.

But that's besides my point.

Nobody is going to throw their 2.2k cat outside to the elements. These cats aren't suffering in the places that we keep them, so what's the problem?

>>329082

I think you're just to retarded to understand what that person is saying, so you just spout baseless insults like>>328978
>> Anonymous
>>329116
I meant that they don't have a lot of melanin. I should have phrased it differently.

But you're right, they can have fine lives as long as there's a human being to take care of their needs. Not something that can be said of some clearly malformed breeds.

I have no idea what's wrong with you or what makes for a 'confused rant'; I was saying that the dogs are being lovingly cared for and raised by good people, and that's what matters. Its called thinking things the whole way through, and not just saying 'its bad because some bad things happen and anyone who supports such is a faggot bag'.

I can't think of one off the top of my head that's genuinely supposed to be fucked up, but I will give you that there are are a few breeds with a majority of fucked-up fanciers. But that's really not the problem of breeding animals itself, it's more of a problem of people being, well, fucked up.

>>329124

Yeah, I sure am a fiend for trying my best to make sure all my animals get proper health care, aren't born with horrid defects, have good temperaments, and are properly socialized. I'm a real bad person.

If you think animal breeding is something you can make a stable living off of, you're dead wrong. Sometimes your cat needs a vet, you have to feed all of them, you have to buy litter for them, etc. There's more to it than profit. There has to be, or nobody would be doing this.

Know what the fuck you're talking about before you open your mouth, Petafag.

British Bulldogs and Pugs.

>>329144

If you're talking about them being snub-nosed, I can say from my experience with Shar-Pei that snub-nosed dogs don't have much of a problem if you know what you're doing. By the end of my mother's experience in Shar Pei breeding, pretty much all of my dogs could stay outside, and we live in Southern USA.

I'll be honest, here. I'm not familiar pugs and bulldogs. Never owned one, never even made acquaintances with a breeder.

But even if you've got one or two breeds that are a little fucked up by standard, it's still not indicative of breeding as a whole. And I'm sure, even within the Bulldog and Pug fancy, there are people who are trying for a healthier standard. I know with the Napoleon/Persian breed, there are groups of breeders trying to get rid of certain facial characteristics that may be a sign of an unhealthy cat/offspring.
