/an/ I want a pair of ferrets, preferrably babies so I can raise them to be litter trained and sociable. I was wondering what is my best bet as to where to get them?

NOT a hunter. If you get them from there, they will probably be insane. Hunters keep them in cages, and handle them with gloves, so they won't be used to human contact.

If taking them from a pet shop, always ask if they come from private breeders or hunters. Huge difference.

The best option is a private PET breeder, if you can find one. There should be some around. Make sure the parents are sociable, and that they are used to human contact, and you should be fine.

Well I live in a big city in Florida so I don't think hunters are a problem.

Trust me, it is anyway. Pet stores sometimes buy their ferrets from hunters, regardless of where they are located. Much cheaper.

Last I knew popular pet stores only bought their ferrets from Marshall farms. You can tell by looking at their ear for the green dot tattoo.
