Can anyone help me out and either identify or help me figure out what I can do to help out with a sore/lesion on my dog's back?

I've never seen him pick or bite at it, but one of the symmetrically placed sores (both sides of the spine right above the tail) has been getting worse over the past week. He shows no other signs of physical abnormality and acts completely happy and energetic.

I'm sorry I couldn't get a better picture but that little bastard wouldn't stop moving.

WTF.
Take it to the vet to get it treated and get some antibiotics.

Take it to the vet. If it is self inflicted, walk your dog more often & for longer walks.

Treat it as if it were a human sore. That is if the dog lets you. Put a fat amount of neosporin and shit on it, peroxide, some disinfectant, w/e it takes and i'd shave the areaaround it and bandage it....

That sounds really in depth though so if you can't really do that, then i'd take it to a vet and have him do it. It might be infected also by the looks of it.

im a groomer, looks like a hot spot, very common in the summer. get the fur around it shaved and for now get a medicated spray from the pet store and keep it clean w/ that and then put neosporin on itthat should get rid of it, if it dosnt tho, go see a vet and they may give you a stronger antibiotic cream, but it should help Good Luck

It might be from chewwing from discomfort from stopped up anal glands. Take it to a vet to squeeze it's butt pimples. You can do it yourself but...
