Lots of unprepared people buy them, realize they dont have what it takes to care for them, and then release them in to local ponds where all hell breaks loose for the ecosystem. That, or the fish dies young in its own filth in an undersized tank. Shit sux, but it seems to happen even with fish that aren't big enough to eat a small dog, so restricting large fish doesn't seem like it'd solve the problem.
Plus, I want one of these.
