What's the best way to scare cats off your property, short of shooting them, which I'm really tempted to resort to right now? Any particular repellants or such that can work to keep them away?

well they don't like sharp smells, try planting garlic or someshit

Yeah were having the same problem. Irritating whaling cats all night. Our cat is on heat and attracting all of the other cat in the neighborhood. We're gonna get her fixed but what can we do in the mean time to keep others away? LOL Throwing water at the isn't working.

That's why we got our cat spayed at 8 weeks old. No one wants to put up with that shit, lol.

I'd say your best bet is to wait it out. Just make sure she doesn't get outside...

OP, you don't have open food, garbage, an abundance of squirrels/birds/rodents, etc in your yard, do you? I heard somewhere that cats don't care for citruslike smells, but don't quote me.

spray your entire property with lemon juice.
at least my cat is terrified of citrus fruits.

Yes, most cats don't like citrus smells. You can get citronella-scented gels that are known to repel cats and dogs (and mosquitos!!). I know for sure that they sell it at PetSmart but I'm not sure where else. Good luck with your cat problem, please don't shoot them. =(

My grandma used to scare off feral cats with good old-fashioned orange peelings, so I'm pretty sure that should work.

You should never ever shoot cats, because there's always the chance that one of those supposedly stray cats is someone's pet that has ran off. My cousin's family lost their pet kitty that way. :( Trapping strays and taking them to an animal shelter (or whatever you call them in English-speaking countries) ensures that if any of them is actually a ran off pet, they can find it and claim it back in perfect condition.

If you've got a problem with whaling cats, you might wanna start with getting the whales off your property..

I thought they were OP's whales. It's hard to get cat-proof facilities for your pet whales, you know.

You're telling me, I'm constantly rescuing kittens from the filter.

Sometimes I'm too late.

I resolve to water. Water in a cup which you throw, water in bottles around mirrors which you stick around the garden (it works, seriously), water guns...

putting wind-screen washer fluid into the water guns, strapping a lighter to the end and TORCHING THE BASTA'DS TO HELL AND BACK.

Step 1: Catch pesky cats in a trap.
Step 2: Dunk trapped cats in some body of water, but make sure not to drown them!!!
Step 3: Let cat go. Watch them run! HA HA!
Step 4: ???
Step 5: Profit!
