does anyone know if psilocybin mushrooms grow naturally in north america? specifically new england. if so, what kind of areas would they be likely to grow in?

Yea, they grow everywhere in North America. Different species live in different areas. Look up some pictures and get some books on the subject. Just don't go out there and start eating them on a whim for god's sake.

I found a few a year back. took 'em home, dryed them and ate them.. they tasted like catpoo and all that happend was that I didn't know who I was for a couple of houres.. and that was the best day in my life.

Your best bet is to just find some cows and check their shit. If there is mushies growing on or around the patties then pick them and dry them out. ALWAYS make sure to check with guides, and I cannot stress that enough. If you eat something poisonous then kiss your ass goodbye.

my friend goes to school at evergreen (washington state) and there are mushrooms growing out in the forest on their campus

They grow in a park within walking distance of my house (SW England). Every year I pick a bag full, dry and freeze them.
