Tell your snake, lizard, frog horror stories.

In return I give you this clip of a bunch of Japanese women being tormented by a huge lizard on a game show.

In the 8th grade I was walking down a creek looking for frogs and such. Suddenly I saw a giant snake. It was about 7 feet long, and about 10 inches thick. It took off a split second before I saw it having seen me first. I chased after it. I couldn't resist I had never seen a snake like that out in the wild. Amazingly though it was too fast, and it got away. I couldn't believe it I was one of the fastest kids at my school, and this fuckin fat snake escaped me. For years I wondered about it, and wished I had caught it. A few years after graduating high school I went to the zoo. They had a large snake there that looked just like the one I had seen except it was about two feet shorter. It turned out it was a cottonmouth. The most vicious snakes in North America. If I had gotten within a few feet of that snake it probably would have gone into offensive mode and started attacking me. Most likely I would have died out there as I was several miles away from the nearest house.

Every year my family goes to Florida and I chase after the baby cottonmouths that congregate in the hotel's lake.

Cute lil' buggers don't try to snap at all. A few years back I almost stepped on one-- biggest one I saw there, maybe 4 feet long, and it took off the moment I put my foot down.

where do you live? I doubt you saw a 7 foot long cottonmouth, probably closer to 4 1/2 and you are just exagerrating. i'd also suspect you probably saw a northern or banded water snake rather than a cottonmouths. in all my years handling venomous snakes cottonmouths are much more likely to stand their ground than say a water snake which will bolt. calling a snake "vicious" is also quite the stretch.
