Sup /an/,

Got this guy the other day at a small aquarim shop at just over 4 inches long. However, the shop owner somehow didn't know what kind of Crayfish he was.

Can anyone identify it? Google didn't help, even after going through dozens of crayfish species.

Already have a blue one.

Blue that needs a molt?
>> AnonymousPrime !/RDa1B/y1o

I doubt it, the store had a bunch of these in a few different tanks. Besides, if it was about to molt you could tell from that picture. There would be a noticeable divide from where the legs and the carapace meet days in advance.

just an albino fresh water crayfish?
>> AnonymousPrime !/RDa1B/y1o
>>223114
Seriously doubt that too, no albino features besides red-eye photo distortion.

i saved some crawfish from boil once.

it was pretty awesome seeing them turn different colors over time.

Crayfish are all over where I live.

I even know of a pond with painted turtles. It's a protected government park, but it's fun to see em all swimming around in there. Even been to a local waterfall and I saw a dead alligator snapping turtle there. Had two or three large puncture wounds in its shell, presumably from a bear.

Oh I know what an Electric Blue Crayfish is, they have those everywhere. I just wanted to know the species of>>223085. The store owner wasn't sure and I just wanted to know but I know that isn't a regular Blue Crayfish.

Believe me, I went looking through dozens upon dozens of different crayfish off a bunch of sites, none looked like it. This was my last resort. =\ Though now I believe it is a lobster and not a crayfish so the question now is... what kind of lobster is it?

>>223638
Bichirs are the shit, the one in the picture is my 6.5" Senegal Bichir, he's great. I also have a 4" Delhezi who I might give away because she's become the runt of the tank, (The others always steal her food and she's left with bits of Algae Wafer.). I also have a Ropefish and I highly reccomend them, they're great fish too. Mines was only 9 bucks and he's at just over 7" long.

I'd definitely say Cherax lorentzi. I've been keeping crayfish for a couple of years and while the only Cherax I've kept was a quadricarinatus, the Australian redclaw crayfish, I'd say that's a C. lorentzi for sure. Way to find one!
See pic for reference. There are also a bunch of excellent crayfish forums out there that can help you out.

dosen't look like a C. lorentzi

I don't think that's the Crayfish, mainly because the shell in general is larger and parts of the claws are snow white. But that's okay! I believe I've found the name...

I traveled to a few OTHER aquarium shops and one of them told me it was a Papav Crayfish, (Even though I think it's more of a Lobster anyway now that I think about it.).

Not sure though, but the guy seemed pretty convincing!

Thanks for the link, I went through a few of those but I'll browse through that one to make sure I get the name and species right.

Used to catch these bastards in a crayfish trap every once in a while up at the cottage as a kid. Boy did they taste good.
