Hi /an/.

I have a small problem. My 4-month cat just loves biting me.

I've tried using the loud "NO" method. I've used the squirt bottle and she still does it.

Help please

My cat does that. And scratching. We've tried a lot of training methods. He's just stupid, honestly. We're gonna give him away. He doesn't respond to anything.
We tried the spray bottle one for about 2 months and now he's just afraid of bottles...

My boyfriend has a hyper excitable cat who can just be plain fucking annoying sometimes, but he's the kind of cat who refuses to ever be taught a lesson, so whenever he's being a fuck we sit on him until he calms the fuck down.

No shit, this is why spray bottles DON'T FUCKING WORK. They get scared of the bottle squirting them instead of learning. Try disciplining your cat the right way, verbally or with a light smack on the rear. It gets the point across.

Make a squeaking noise. Then he should know he's hurting you, unless he was removed from his mother and siblings at a very very young age.

i don't think you quite understand. any form of punishment will yield the same results as the spray bottle. NEVER hit your pet because they will come to associate your hand (or perhaps you in general) with pain, and they will likely still do the problem behavior to other people.

OP, have you ever heard of clicker training? you use a little clicker thing and treats reinforce good behaviors while ignoring bad ones. eventually the animal learns to only perform the good behaviors because they lead to treats, while bad behaviors don't. do a google search for the exact method, it's worth a try.

Everybody has their own approach to raising their pets. I hate the pet elitists out there who think if you're not using the uniform approach that it must be abuse. I've had several kittens who had taken to biting me whenever possible. I'd say NO, use spray bottles, make loud noises and none of it worked. What did work, however, was popping them on the nose. Eventually, they'll get hit enough to learn that if my hand is raised in a certain way that they're doing something bad. When I didn't have to hit them, I'd reward them with affection. I think with cats if they realize that you, their human, loves them, they'll always want to show their love in return.
