what in nature are you afraid of? Anonymous
I would never dare to swim or dive into deep water, or swim in a dark lake at night. Something keeps poking me and saying theres imminent danger whenever Im go to the ocean.
>> Anonymous
Yeah thats me, don't worry I'm just screwin with ya.

Ticks. Yeah, I'm not kidding, ticks. They carry some of the nastiest diseases around these parts. As a result I always keep checking my legs for ticks every time I have to walk in tall grass without my legs fully covered.

Flying cockroaches. I am mostly fearless, but I cannot stand the sight of those little bastards flying. I dunno why.

Because a giant fucking bug flying around and sounding like a helicopter will freak anybody out?

Assuming your roaches are of the 'giant fucking' variety and not smaller than your thumb.

As for me, I'm with the OP. I blame Space Hulk.

Bugs. Any kind. BTW, can someone tell me what these are? They were under a board out in the yard.
>> Anonymous
Bees and spiders--usually in that order unless a spider has the drop on me.

That and unidentified bugs. Holy shit, the unknown can be even scarier than the known & dangerous.

Most other common fears don't scare me though: I like snakes, dogs, swimming in (deep, dark) water, etc.

spiders whose leg span easily passes the size of your face. It just makes them look like fucking facehuggers and that shit is not cool.

it (never knew the sex) was about 8" long or so. i never handled any of my pedes, but when i was in 6th or 7th grade, i lived in hawaii. there are pedes there.. one night i went outside to throw something in the garage. wasn't wearing shoes or socks. (we'd run around the whole neighborhood without either..sort of a hawaii thing i guess) was dark as hell out..stepped on a pede, felt it wrap around my foot and bite me. i'll never forget that moment. it hurt like hell! didn't even see it, just felt all it's legs and a nice bite...had to be about 5 inches long at least.

>> Anonymous

not stingers. modified mandibles. like a first set of legs.

their first pair of legs are modified into venom injectors. They stab prey with them and hold on with them and their legs till it dies.

Brown Recluse spider, damn things are everywhere out there in TN. Look like just about any common spider too. Worst part is their venom is really, well, venom; closer to a protein that necrotizes flesh. All you can do is watch about 10 inch. of your tissue rot off ;_;

>> Anonymous
>>169303

first off, your chances of actually getting bit are quite slim. second, even if you are bit, the chances of experiencing necrotic flesh is also quite low. in fact, it is very rare to experience those symptoms.

Cockroaches scare the living shit out of me. I was scarred as a child when one night I woke up and found one right in front of my face on my pillow. Now I live on the other side of town and we got these big 2 inch, black-as-sin motherfuckers in the summer. I shit you not, about two months ago I was sitting in front of my computer casually fapping. I thought I felt something near my ankle but I ignored it, being enamoured as I was. But then I felt something move in my boxers, right next to my beanbag. I jumped up and pulled my pants down, and out ran a big black fucking roach. I screamed and vomited and when I came back he was gone. Fortunately the cat killed it shortly after, but I will never be the same again...

Bumblebees generally won't bother you unless you're too close to the hive for their comfort or if you deliberately try to kill them first.

Now YELLOWJACKETS...I hate those fuckers. Never a moment's peace with them around.

Hm. I fucking love bugs, and plan on getting a pet bug or two. Why not? I'm already not getting laid.

I'm afraid of elephants. Swear to god. I don't know why. Too big, too smart. Insects and spiders remind me of little chemical computers, I just kind of watch them.

But I get that hair-on-end, "what planet is that from?" thing when I see an elephant.

SPIDERS. motherfucking SPIDERS. Agoraphobic to a horrible degree. Luckily, I have some Black & Decker plug-in that releases some sort of wave to keep them away from my room. Haven't had to freak out since.

Spiders... but usually only if they surprise me. There's nothing I hate more then having a spider start dangling in my face.

Leechs too, those things are fucking ugly.
>> Anonymous
I'm afraid of large/poisonous spiders coming at me. I remember once I sprayed a black widow, and the little fucker, all crazy from the spray, started HAULING ASS at my bare foot. Never squealed like that in my life. Crickets and scorpions have done that to me too.

And.. well it's not really a fear, more like a deep, disgusted hatred, for apes. Can't stand em. "Save the gorillas! Save the gorillas!" Yeah, fuck that. I hope those people are making good profit by killing them off.

>I screamed and vomited

I'm sorry, but I laughed.

I did have a similar cockroach experience once, sitting in front of my computer at 2AM. This fucking roach must have launched itself off the bookshelf behind me because it came gliding right past my head. I squealed and fled the room.

Now, whenever I find a roach, I lead one of my four cats to it and they thoroughly enjoy. Usually I find bits and pieces afterwards. Sometimes heads and legs.

Holy shit it's good to live in Finland. We don't have any poisonous or huge insects; the most dangerous one is viper, if you get bit by one and you aren't allergic to it's venom you don't die.
I've never seen a centipedes or a cockroach in real.. And I'm grateful for that.
