My cat is dead.

It was the day after I took her to the vet for her vaccines and what not. After she got her shots she seemed pretty normal and the very night before she died she was super normal. I picked her up and bleh bleh bleh and everything seemed fine.

The next day when I awoke and went outside she was sprawled out in front of a fire hyrdrant on the corner of my house. We get alot of traffic in our front yard and I think I saw one of her ribs were broken so I assume she got hit, but its a bit ironic that she died the day after i took her to the vet. Its not like she suddened forgot how to cross the street and to look out for cars, so why now of all times to get hit?

She was a stray so I assumed she hadnt had her shots yet, but now I dont know. Is it possible she could have died because she was 'over' vaccinated?

pic related. said cat is the mama. kittens are only 11 weeks old now and meowing all over the place looking for her. I buried her in my backyard. =\

no very very very unlikely if even possible.

even if you cat was good at crossing the road, doesn't mean some ass couldn't drive faster then supposed too and though off cat's street crossing game.

i'm really sorry. it's unlikely that an overvaccination of some kind caused your cat to be careless while crossing the street. some people are completely devoid of humanity and have no problem hitting a cat on the road if it gets in their way. someone on your street may have been in a bad mood and decided to drive recklessly and your cat was the victim.

anyway, kittens are old enough to be weaned away from their mother at about 6 weeks. your kittens are able to go to new homes now if you don't plan on keeping them yourself.

Sorry about your cat.
It's true that vaccinations can occasionally kill, or more likely; shorten their life.
I suspect though that she was just hit by a car. Maybe she felt ill after the shot, because a vaccine can be very stressful on the body and her judgment was therefore off.
Also, the fact that she recently had kittens did not help - the vet should have waited until they were fully weaned and she gained some weight.

err, no I didnt mean the vaccinations made her forget how to cross the street, that just sounds insane...

I was asking if it is possible for a cat to die due to having too much vaccine injected into them. Due to having too much of said chemical in their systems.

I am saying this because I did not examine the body closely, I was a bit too heartbroken and it had been laying there for a few hours so it was covered in ants and smelled terrible. All of its fur was still intact and all, it LOOKED like broken ribs, but I am not 100% sure. If a car had hit her I would imagine her guts would have been everywhere. This is the reasoning behind my suspicion.

Yeah, vaccinations shorten animals lives, if not kill them.

What the fuck where did you get this bullshit?

Don't get your panties in a twist.
This info is strewn all over animal magazines and the Internet.
Also, there is personal experience.
I might post some info later.

I just re-read your post, you used the word 'weaned' you obviously know your shit, sorry I doubted you, I'll wait 'till later to see your information on vaccines killing shit regularly.

Hundreds of thousands of Web pages over death/illness from vaccinations. :(

Agreed about burying in your Backyard. But when you have had as many dogs as I had, it gets a little sad. I have 14 dogs buried there. :/

Please note that I *do* support vaccinating pets - it's just better to give separate, more targeted vaccines (not heavily combined like C4 or C5) over a longer timespan. Talk to different vets and do your own research.

Wow, I love how, because YOU'VE never heard of it (in all of your glorious years worth of knowledge), that vaccine problems must be some sort of new age bullshit.

>>242870
I agree with you and supporting better vaccines for animals. There just isn't enough participation from most vets (and most owners) to further research about such things, which is sad.

It happens to humans too, apparently. http://www.mercola.com/article/vaccines/neurological_damage.htm

I wonder if what OP's cat had was neurological?

14 dead dogs? What the hell is going on in your house?

Reporter: why are there landmines on your sofa?
HST: I'm trying to teach the dogs to stay off the furniture.
Reporter: What dogs?

tl;dr Where are the statistics? I want researched percentages of x animal dying of x vaccine plx, google searches = proof (and apparently personal experience too see>>242848)

I wasn't saying it wasn't unheard of, I was saying it's not common, and you're supporting OP's acting like a confused little girl trying to find something conspiracy-like to blame for his cats' death, people need to wise up about pets ("assuming it got hit by a car because of a broken rib, PROBABLYHADSOMETHIN 2 DO WITH VACCINATIONS MY CAT ISN'T DAT DUM 2 GET HIT WITHOUT SOMETHING ELSE GOIN ON!") they're not the smartest creatures, and sure vaccinations have their side-effects, but chances are that had nothing to do with his cats' death, cry about it but don't blame random shit.

You're lazy, and I'm tired! I don't support laziness.
With so much info out there, it should be easy for you to find out for yourself. Go back to FOX NEWS, or whatever.
Also - an overdose of *anything* can be bad.
I might post more once I got some sleep and feel like it, but not to support anyone's indolence. Good night.

You're the one making claims, it's up to you to support them. I bet you think vaccinating your kids gives them autism because there's "mercury" in them, causing them to become an actual danger to kids with compromised immune syst.. wait, nobody on 4chan has touched a girl, never mind.

I don't see where Barksalot claimed the vacciene caused the death.

Is very very correct. Many animals are allergic to vaccines, though most just feel a bit queasy. Many humans also get fevers or have other symptoms after very simple and common vaccinations. My fellow tripfaggot( and faggotess) are right: animals need better vaccines, and we need stricter guidelines on when they should be given. The vet should not have given your cat vaccinations while nursing, because it can seriously mess up the kittens future vaccinations (example IIRC, parvo shots given to nursing moms can make parvo shots given to pups ineffective).

After a day, however, it is unlikely that her symptoms would have persisted. If she was still affected by the shots, she should have been listless, running as fever, and probably would not have wanted to go wandering off. If that were the case, then you should have brought her to the vet.

It is much much more likely that she was crossing the street and got hit, or that something else happened. Human beings are capable of doing some terrible things.

Condolences on your cat, but at least you have little clones of her running around. Take good care of them.

now you have to teach those kittens Hokuto Shinken

and pick one out as the successor

This is why smart people keep their cats inside away from cars. :D

Seems to solve the problem of getting hit by cars pretty well!

It's okay OP, we know you didn't love your cat anyway. If you had, you would have kept her safe inside with her babies. So, you gonna toss the babies outside, too? Let a car over-vaccinate them?

I know coincidence is one of those things we all look at and say "this isn't normal" and try to look for a reason, something to blame, and there may be a reason so don't give up until you know. But sometimes luck is just against you and this type of thing happens.

Worst circumstances with the kittens as well =(

Seriously right?

Isn't that like saying "there's a pack of cougars who live outside but I let my cat out anyway"? You knew you lived on a busy road, and you left your cat to get run over. I feel sympathy for the cat, but not for you. You're a human, you knew better.
