Banana spider, native to Oklinawa. Huge and creepy looking, I saw a dead one when I was there.

Correction, it's a Giant Wood Spider.

When I was at Kadena they told me they were called banana spiders, but apparently that's a different animal.

Black. Widows.

In California, but they are everywhere in North America and in some places on other continents as well.

Common names are for the ignorant masses

These all appear to be some type of Nephila spp.
The first and third I would guess Nephila maculata and the middle I would say Nephila clavata

I'll raise you to our own home grown(US) the Nephila clavipes

Brown widows. Latrodectus Geometricus. More venomous but with localized instead of fast-spreading venom. All. Over. My. Back. Yard.

Oh god yeah, southern California here, and they're all over the fucking place. Ugh, I hate opening my garage just cause they always end up inside the door and in weird corners.
Pic is some random spiky spider on a cactus.

The Hobo Spider, also called the Aggressive House Spider. No real proof yet but it is assumed this buggers bite causes necrosis, yummy. I live in Central Oregon so this guys are everywhere, but they are not as aggressive as their name implies.

Best one I can get. D: She's bright as hell, six of seven shots she reflected more than the white metal beams behind her.

Brown recluse, motherfuckers. These things always get in my house.

They may not look like much, but their venom pretty much rots whatever is bitten over time.

Pic related.

Well I'm glad they don't cause bites like that, if left untreated that is, if that guy was bitten, he was either bitten a shitload of times or left it alone for a month or two. I think I have a pic of an Arabesque Orbweaver I found the other day, let me find it real quick

Have those over here, too. Fucking dicks. Seen them around me house sometimes, with my cat trying to fuck with it.

No good.

Also, they may not be bad ass, but I do love them, and while they aren't strictly local, they do live here (and inhabit my shed)

Cellar spiders. Last year, a bunch of the young ones came into my house and I will not say this about ANY spider, but they were adorable. I let them crawl around on my hand and I named them. Never saw them again.

Seen a fuck load of jumping spiders and the recluses, though.

not as bad as those harvesmen that climb all over everything when you go camping in the autumn. Harmless, but hard to ignore.

Creepy little bastards.
Are they supposed to be in Florida, or am I just lucky?

Brown recluse. I've almost died 3 times from getting bitten by these pieces of SHIT! And Mr./Mrs. OR has apparently never encountered a hob spider because they are agressive as FUCK.
