Dear /an/, HELP! Ok so I pulled the filter tube out of the damned thing to clean it and since replacing it the water is NOT cycling.. should I wait? I turned it on and off, I emptied it, turned it on, refilled the filter housing.. all kinds of things. What gives?! the lives of my grandmas fish and snails hang in the balance!

Also, I probably should've mentioned this.

Cycling can take anywhere from a week to a month, get ready to hunker down!

apparently I have no idea what I am talking about. geriatric people with no knowledge of aqua-ing probably shouldn't own fish. I suppose I now have to learn the hobby if I want anything to survive in there..

Oh your fucking god! Are you serious?!

Yeah, you're supposed to put water into the filter once it's been placed onto the tank and turned on. The only way to get any filter running is to give it a little push.

Well it is a fun hobby. if you're really willing to get into it just do a little research and go for it.

I will tell you this though, out of experience, do not start hording every pretty fish you see. -_-;
