Poison Ivy Experiences Meep !!7aVv2NUMzd/
So, I tried starting this thread in /r9k/, but that didn't fly too well. I'm not sure if you guys have had this recently, but here it goes:

How many of you Gentlemen* have had experiences with this stuff? I had it all over a couple of years ago, from climbing in a tree. I soon found that the best feeling in the world is a nigh-boiling hot shower with poison ivy. Orgasm of the skin, right there, mates. As for getting rid of it, I tried special soap, special cream, special lotion... I even went to the lengths of wiping my arms with 1:10 dilute bleach. Hell yeah. That'll get rid of the rash, and the skin too... Worked kinda though. More likely was that the pain from the itch was nothing compared to the bleach.
So, post your tales, Gentlemen. How did you get it? How badly? How long did you suffer? What methods worked best at keeping it under wraps? (I wrapped my arms in ACE bandage...) Is there a miracle cure you know of?

Pic related. It's my arms then.

I am one of 15%-30% of the people who don't react to it.

Well, the soap and stuff worked. It basically dried my skin out so the oils came up, or covered up the oils to keep them from spreading.

250255 again.

Funnily enough, I USED to be immune to it. I'd get into it all the time when I was in cub scouts/boy scouts and never any rash at all from it. Then several years later...bam, it gets me good!

I'm immune to it. It's pretty ironic, since I have eczema and my skin is pretty much dry/itchy all the time and I get reactions from simple things like dust. Poison ivy just doesn't bother me at all, apparently.

250257 here. That's weird. I also have very dry skin (no eczema, though). I get rashes from just about everything else (carpet, mowing grass, etc..) but not poison ivy. I removed a bunch of vines that were growing on some of my trees using my bare hands. Didn't realize until a couple of days later that it was poison ivy.

I currently have some on my chest from playing disc golf earlier last week. Apparently I scratched my pubes around my inner thigh after having touched my chest and it jumped. It's dangerously close to my balls, and I'm scared that masturbating will cause it to jump onto my genitals. :(

If you already have it, then the rash won't spread.

Go read up on it. Start at Wikipedia:

Much like popping zits, I like to pop those little pustules that form. I then wipe up the oozing puss. Then I slap on some calamine lotion and it clears up pretty fast.

Band-Aid brand Anti-ich gell. Its worked every time I've gotten into poison Ivy

Well I don't recall rubbing some poison ivy around my pubes, so I suppose I scratched my pubic region the day of contact?

I get the stuff all the time... and i agree about the hot-shower+poison ivy=orgasm thing...

The best thing to use is commercial ointments... That's what they're made for

engine degreaser works but make sure you immediately have lotion on hand to rub on the spots or else your skin will dry out crack peel and burn horribly.
learned this from working out in a refuge doing some archaeology work in mississippi. gasoline works too. I'm immune but the rest of my crew got it so bad that they tried everything. bleach, oil, shots of stuff to stop their itching, dozens of lotions. it was a lot of fun learning about the engine degreaser and gasoline.

Yeah, you got it on your hands/arms, then later touched your crotch (perhaps indirectly) before it was washed off. The poison resin is super-potent. It only takes a tiny little bit to blister your whole arm. Not only that, but it is very sticky and is stable in the enviornment. It can remain potent for years. If you get it on a rake handle, then you'd better wash it otherwise you'll get that awful rash again and again each time you touch the handle thereafter.

Yeah, same thing as soap and water...anything that will take off oil/grease will work, you just have to do it before the poison gets absorbed into the skin. Once that happens..too late.

why would you pour bleach on yourself????
>> Anonymous
>>250680

Bleach contains sodium hypochlorite which is a very strong oxidizer. It destroys a lot of organic compounds...including the active oil in poison ivy, and bacteria, virues, fungi, etc.

While bleach is not exactly the best thing to put on yourself it's not really dangerous if you wash it off very quickly. You can think of it like a very, very, strong soap. It's not as if bleach will dissolve your body the instant it touches you--like, for example, the way acid or bleach is depicted in movies.

I use /an/ heros. I think I don't react to poison ivy, never gotten a rash from it. My brother had to take a shit in the woods, and my dad told him to wipe his ass with poison oak. Nothing happened, so he probably doesn't react to it either.

I had poison ivy TERRIBLE on my legs. Everytime I moved it cracked and oozed yellow, then it started smelling like rot. I just ended up propping my legs up and playing on the internets for a week, using my rolling chair to get over to the toilet. After that it was drier and didn't crack quite so much, so I just treated it like OP.

I got poison sumac from cutting a path with a machete up state ny. I would wipe sweat off my face with the back part of the blade. I woke up the next morning with bumps on my forehead, thought maybe heat rash... Took a piss went back to sleep. Woke up basically covered from scalp to toes including butt/taint/balls/and cock. Worst pain of my life. Had to go to the hospital and get a series of shots, also burned some off with gasoline...

i dont know if it applies to poison ivy, but when i got hives and was all itchy/crappy skin i took a bath with oatmeal in the tub, and it seemed to help a bit, so if nothing else, try that

I'm pretty much immune to it. Enjoy your painful rashes /an/.
