My eight-year-old black cat has slowly turned more dark brown than black, probably because of the sun. Is there any way to keep a black animal's color from being bleached by the sun without harming the animal?

Pic not my cat.

OP- your black nail polish is slightly chipping on your pinky finger, hurry and repaint it before someone thinks you're human!

Why would you even care?

Keep it inside if the tint of your pet's fur matters so much.
