hey /an/, i'm thinking of getting a water dragon or two. does the temperature have to be regulated? what should i know before buying? the only reptiles i ever had were a few anoles (loved em)

Water dragons are similar to green iguanas in that they are farmed lizards which grow considerably large, require large enclosures, high humidity, and are sold as hatchlings to impulse buyers; also, in captivity, they both typically die well before growing into adults due to dumbfucks who don't know how to provide proper care.

If you're seriously asking if the temperature of their enclosure needs to be regulated, you have no business buying one.

Get an australian water dragon. They tolerate a wider range of temps and need less humidity than the asian ones. They also get bigger.
Also you have to buy them from a breeder, which is better then buying at a pet store, where they are likely to have parasites and be crammed in with others.
