Hey /an/,

I've been researching freshwater shrimp as pets a lot lately (entirely away from 4chan, on assorted hobbyist sites). It's a fairly new pursuit. Any insight from /an/?

You'll have to make sure to keep up with all the feeding and maintenance. Get good lighting so plants and algae will grow well.
Don't buy ghost/glass shrimp, because they suck for many reasons.

And use a closed up fishtank.
The fuckers like to jump around sometimes and you'd end up with dried up shrimp on your floor if it is not sealed.

actually, in korea or vietnam...where-ever that crazy bald fucker with the "I eat animal dick in exotic places" TV show was at the time...they had a dish that was basically 1000s of cherry shrimp, alive, in vinegar, in a bowl, you ate it with a spoon...the name translated into "jumping shrimp broth"....ewww

looks like odori ebi but this is not cherry. (I also think that they would use a sea shrimp (cherrys live in the botton, it would be harder to get a lot)

For OP.
Well, you could try to star with cherry shrimp, the ghost shrimp found in Brasil rivers and lakes Macrobrachium sp. is easier to find and to keep.

Here are some good sites, read a lot to avoid massive death.
