It's a monitor lizard a.k.a. the Varanidae Family lizards, which the Komodo Dragon is a part of. I do belive that's a Nile Monitor we're looking at here.

They are hard to take care of as pets because they get big (around 6 feet full grown) have a tendency to bite and lash with their tail, and possibly worst of all they poop in their water dish. :(

He's a V. Ionides aka black throat monitor. He's 5 ft long currently.. still has a lot of growing to do :)

after 3 years my dad managed to breed his black throat Monitor only 1 egg out of 30 hached and this is the little bugger that came to be named tiny and yes first thing he did was bite him lol
