So we brought home another cat yesterday, although we already have one. Now my cat whom we have had for 2 years does not seem to mind this new cat, but, the new cat freaks out everytime they cross paths and has taken to hiding behind the toilet or under the couch. Does anyone have any idea how I could get the new cat to come out? I think it just may take sometime, but if the situation does not improve in a few days what should I do?

>> My cat is also considerably larger than the new and they are both of the same age.

You fucking moron.

You brought an animal into an unknown, new environment, with an animal who obviously already has stake on the territory, of course it's going to be jumpy for a while. Give it time to adjust, you stupid motherfucker, and it'll come out more.

And, as for size, there are different breeds of cats, like there are different breeds of dogs, that come in all different sizes. You stupid cunt.

You need to do introductions SLOWLY. Start by confining the new kitten to one room of the house so it can get used to the basic sounds, smells, and sights, but won't have any interactions with the other cat.

Rub each cat with a t-shirt or towel or something similar to get their scent on it, then take the shirts to each animal so they can smell this new critter and get used to it. Eventually you can let them interact in small doses of time until they're used to each other.

There was no need to be rude. I know there are different breeds of animals that was not what I had asked, I was stateing that whether or not the size difference would intimidate the new cat, and I know that it is a little scared right now, it was a question if there was a way to speed up the process and make it easier on the cat. Thank you whoever posted the t-shirt idea I will definatly give it a try.

More likely had them deleted for him.

No wasn't being a douche and did not have it deleted, some guy was being an ass and I am not sure what happened because I left before I could see how far he was going to go to TRY and piss me off because I had asked for help. My mistake for expecting a mature and knowledgeable answer BTW the guy who signed me up for the pr0n, it took you longer to fill it out and sign me up than it did for me to delete it.

Don't take it personal. Internet is full of frustrated kids, least if you're on 4chan.
