so... I am allergic to cats, does that kill my chance of owning a cheetah (favorite animal) someday? Excluding the fact that it's most likely a crap load of money to get one. Or that's probably impossible all together
>> Anonymous
Nah it's not impossible. Not if you keep it outside in a pen. They cost between eight and twenty thousand dollars if I remember right. I learned that from national geographic.
>> Anonymous
Yeah...allergies would probably be the least of your worries, kid.

I think the fur costs $1,500 so the live animal can't be too much more. A king Cheetah might be 20,000. A panda pelt goes for about 100,000.

Cheetahs are not pets, you cretin.

i think i heard cheetahs are really finicky

All animals are potentially pets. It's not wrong if it's cared for properly, and given the chance to increase the population. Monkey's in Africa kill cheetah's every day just because they eat their worthless goats. By monkeys I mean ignorant animal like niggers. All animals within monkey territory should be taken away.

Take allergy medication?

Then do us a favor and not breed, ensuring one monkey leaves the gene pool.

Oh I breed, and I'll breed even more. The world needs more monkeys like me. When the streets are full of carts transporting bald eagles, and life is nothing more than a household recipe I will be satisfied.

I'm allergic and a guy with cats.

Solutions:
Keep cats out of bedroom.
Wash hands after petting/handling cats extensively.
Be ready to change clothes after lots of cat fur gets on them.
Keep your hands away from your eyes.

Handles 99% of issues.

well is the fur of cheetah's the same as cats fur? Not really sure if anybody would know this first hand but it'd be helpful

um.. pretty shitty idea, OP. There's a such thing as a domesticated cheetah, and it's called a housecat. Otherwise, they're not domestic and they won't act domestic. In other words... There's a reasonable chance that you'd spend rediculous amounts of money on an animal that's just about impossible to handle that doesn't give a flying crap about you. Possibly hates the crap out of you. ..adopt them through wildlife organizations and support them in ways that help, if you really love them.

At best you can get some wildcat/housecat crossbreeds that are fuckhuge and kinda cheetah-looking in colour and proportions. Those cats tend to be fucking cute, though. God I want one some day.

I've heard of a product called Allerpet, maybe it can help.
As for the Cheetah, get real, idiot.

Don't worry the cheetah will be so inbred and useless in a few generations it will be functionally extinct

OP has to be a troll.

god damnit.
I want to know if the dander in cats (which I know I'm allergic to) is the same as cheetah dander, if they have any.

>>283371
The only way to tell is to test it in real life. Get close to a cheetah and see what happens.

Seriously... how the hell will you afford the food costs....
!!!
Kill yourself, this the the solution.
>> Nyetwerke
Dander is different in various species. I can be around lions but not tigers. Tigers give me an almost immediate contact allergy reaction (just an itch but annoying) so that is my experience but your mileage may vary.

I think cheetahs actually tame pretty easily. Some cultures have used them for hunting and such. I'm not sure being allergic to domestic cats automatically make you allergic to all cats, but I would imagine that there's a chance they could trigger non-cat specific allergies, like their dander affecting you if dust bothers you.

Not that I'm most certainly going to have a cheetah but if that 1/10 chance comes along you are actually able to tame cheetahs using dogs because they think they're the "pack leader".
That's how some zoo's do it.
