Snakes can be interesting. Burmese Pythons get the huge. We're talking 10 to 25 feet. 100 to 400 pounds. But they are just lazy bums. They usually never do anything. Retics and Anacondas are more interesting, but generally more aggressive.
I like my Red Tail Boas though. You might find you will love those snakes. They don't get too big, and are not as squiggly and annoying as corn snakes, are big enough you can let them out of the cages to roam the room/etc your other animals are not in and see what silly antics they get themselves into.
You will find them suprisingly cute. My Boa Constrictor Imperator often ends up going into my shirt (I'm a guy, put those dicks away), ends up in the weirdest places in the room, likes to knock down my figures for either a really good reason or no particular reason (seriously, he goes up to the shelves, knocks everything off, then coils up. If I put something back on, she goes to it and knocks it off. Makes for lots of luls.
They are more interesting when you build big cages for them, not the standard recommended 6x2x2's. My BCI is 9' and 51LB and has no fat on her at all. Her cage is 8 wide 4 deep 7 tall with shelves, branches, etc. When I take her out she's very active which makes things more fun. Most snakes are much lazier from being in tiny cages all the time.
