Dear /an/,

I have 5 guinea pigs and a rabbit. I'm out of rabbit pellets and can't make it to the store for atleast 2 days, possibly 3. I have plenty of guinea pig pellets. Would my rabbit be fine on GP pellets for 2 or 3 days? (Everyone always has plently of hay and veggies).

Just stick with hay and add some extra veggies and your bunny should be fine without any pellets for a few days. My exotic vet has told me that pellets aren't even entirely necessary for bunnies, as long as they have as much hay as they can eat and fresh vegetables. GP pellets have too much Vitamin C for rabbits, and could throw off their system.

bunny rabbits love radiation, so just stick your bunny in the microwave for a few hours and it will be good to go

Yeah, they also eat guinea pig pellets, but stick to fresh veggies

Give it plenty of grass, tree branches with SOFT leaves and so on.

Rmember, rabbits live in the wild without pellets.

guinea pig pellets are fine for rabbits. we used to feed it to ours all the time (we had like 21 at one point..) so i would think maybe just feed about 1/2 or 2/3 of what you normally feed your bunny pellet wise.

Try to avoid a sudden change in diet, It's normally the change rather than the food that harms them, I knew of a hamster which got ill and died the next day after someone gave it rabbit food rather than hamster food which it had been eating before.

Truth. Just let the bunny have unlimited hay and his veggies and you should be good. I wouldn't give him the guinea pig pellets at all.

Hi
Guinea pig pellets are fine for the rabbit for a few days. They do contain added vitamin C so you can't feed them to a rabbit for a long period of time because they can make their own. Just don't feed it to him long term :)

What? Go outside and rip up some greenery from your backyard and feed it to an animal with a delicate digestive system that's never had anything like that in its life?
