dear /an/ my pet fish died of old age, kinda looked like the one in the pic, and i have a 10 liter tank at my disposal , what would be a good pet thats rather unique that this could be a suitable house for. the only thing i cant have is snakes and spiders and things like that because my landlord is a pussy..

i also have two leopard geckos and a cat. but i want something else to entertain me whilst sitting at my desk

You could plant some anacharis and get some cherry or ghost shrimp. The anacharis is for them to climb on, which cherry shrimp love doing - it also turns them from bottom feeders to all-level aquarium inhabitants. (Really anything that they could climb on will do, but anacharis is particularly easy to care for.)

If you got a cheap $10 filter (like a bio wheel filter - something that's going to both filter and aerate), you could get six white cloud mountain minnows, or (but not in addition) a few pearl danios.

Get a small group on neon tetra.
Your tank could fit maybe 6, at tops 8 of those fish.
they're easy to take care of, and look very appealing swimming in a group.

for a tank that small i would agree

guppies

or

nanos

or

corys (they are so cute)

Ah, I fucking love corydoras. Here are mine. They have so much personality and they're damn cute.

If you intend to get cories or neon tetras, you'll need to heat the water. Danios and white cloud minnows will tolerate room temperature water, however.

Whatever you do, don't get a goldfish.

Oh man I just opened this thread to suggest that. Those are the best nerd-pets ever. Animal crossing? Pokemon? So badass.
