Hi /an/My cat has a little lump on her stomach and I wonder what it could be? If it is important to take her to a vet as fast as I can.It has grown a little bit under some weeks but she hasn't shown any change in her personality. And she doesn't seem to have any feeling in the lump.I want to know if I shall take her to the vet since it is pretty damn expensive.HALP
Yes, it is pretty damn expensive but you should definitely go as it could be cancer. Think of rats who get lumps and don't even seem to feel them even though they can be huge ! Take your cat to the vet if you love it. It might cost you but even if it's not dangerous at all, you and the cat will feel better/relieved (you more so than the cat) afterwards. :)
Repeat after me: "every time a lump starts to grow, it's time to take the pet to the vet."Get it?
is it her, or him?
Should definately be checked out, but also, don't panic. one of my cats has a belly lump that she's had most of her life; according to the vets, it's a "stable hernia" whatever the fuck that is, and nothing to worry about.
>>163872Wouldn't a hernia hurt, though?
>>163873To be honest, I don't even know exactly what a hernia actually is, other that it's some kind of muscle tear or irregularity. Two different vets have examined it and both said exactly the same thing. The cat is perfectly happy, doesn't seem to be in any distress and is as stretchy and flexible as any cat.
>>163874A hernia is a tear in muscle through which tissues usually contained within the muscle push through. Hernias in humans tend to be painful, but usually they are also treated, so maybe it was some lucky type of painless hernia (since it was harmless too).
