does anyone here own any koi? I'm seriously considering having a koi pond installed in my back yard. does anyone have any advice?

also, make sure you build it well the first time. i'd suggest a skimmer rather than a bottom drain, but in any case, trying to retrofit anything into a pond is a bitch, and will likely lead to leaks.

Koi are expensive

How do these taste?

this is true. less so if you buy them small, but still expensive for a pond fish. if you aren't too obsessed with appearance, feeder goldfish are cheap and tough, and can grow quite large. you can also mix them with koi.
