So /an/ my fish tank is experiencing a problem.

Three of my fish have disappeared.

They were neon tetras, and there were 6 the other day. Then there were four. Today there are three.

In the tank with them are two angel fish, an algae eater, and three other fish I can't remember the name of.

The algae eater is much bigger than them, it's at least 5 inches, but I really doubt it could've eaten my tetras.

Any ideas?

Maybe he spontaneously combusted?

Sometimes if you don't take the dead fish out fast enough the others start eating it >>;; Mine did that once, the only thing I found was a small fleshy chunk floating around- and yes, I FEED my fish daily.

So any one/all of them could've just..om nom nom'd.

I found a few goldfish buried in the rocks of my tank.

I thought it was weird until I saw one launched into the rocks by the filter and had to save it :<

How big are the angel fish? My gf had a big one that would eat any of the other fish that it could. Tetras were food.

Sup. Angelfish eat neon tetras in the wild.

Enjoy your fat and happy angelfish.

Okay lol, thanks.

The larger one is maybe three inches tall. Definitely bigger than all the tetras combined.

When I was a child I had tetras that would cannibalize each other. Crazy shit...

does your algae eater look like this?

'cause these guys don't eat algae - unless there's nothing else to eat.

When they're young, they do. Then they grow up and enjoy fish's slime coats more.

Mine ate a bunch of the little fish in the community tank before we realized it was him. Now he lives in a smaller tank with a couple of big feeder goldfish. He ate the entire plant that was in there, and sometimes there's bitemarks on the goldfish. That little bastard.

Yeah. Especially when they get over 2" in size. Larger tetras are fine though as well as fully grown gumpy's, but anything smaller is food. Get a pleco for an algae eater, but make sure it's small and has places to hide from the angels. Oh and add a small mirror for your angels. They like to show off in front of others.

Just make sure you do more research next time.

No, they're more expensive than great whites and the Dunkleosteus would've eaten them, too.

A friend of mine had a fairly large tank: Some normal tetra fish, a pike looking thing, bunch of snails, a snail eating fish, one bamboo shrimp and an algae sucker.

One by one the fish dissapeared until there was just this freakishly large algae sucker going around pretending that he's a filter feeder. He sucked the entire tank into oblivion!

I don't know why I laughed, that's awful. What kind of crazy filter of doom are you using?

Three of my giant isopods have disappeared.

They were Bathynomus giganteus, and there were 6 the other day. Then there were four. Today there are three.
