I am pretty sure its illegal to keep wildlife as pets... Why dont you just get a black dog/cat and paint a white stripe down its back.

Its not illegal, really. :| in north america is legal to have one, always that you have a credential or something,of course.

Of course,I seriously preffer a dog. They are more useful. But a skunk is like the ultimate security system. You just say "I GOT ENOUGH OF MUTHAFUCKA SNAKES IN MY MUTHAFUCKA PLAIN!! I GOT A SKUNK AND IT SMELL LIKE SHIT!!111" And aim with the skunk poiting people with its tail and press the belly...I think that it would spray the motherfuckin snakes. :D

Baby skunks= REALLY FUCKING CUTE.

I saw a show on animal planet with a chick who had a few pet skunks. They apparently make good pets.

Its illegal in some states(such as I can't own on in NJ). But even then if its legal, you still need like a permit or something.
http://www.awesomeexotics.com/whats_new.html

that has state regulations on own exotics.

There are only regulations on the ownership of Exotic animals, which is any animal not native to the area in which you live, which can include animals thare ARE native to north america, and regulations that cover Game animals, which is any animal that has hunting regulations covering it.

While it may be difficult in some states to get the proper permits, in other states there is no regulations concerning the ownership of a skunk. This is mostly because a skunk actually requires about the same amount of vaccinations and vetrinary care as a cat would. The cost of having a skunk's scent-glands removed is about equal to that of having a cat spayed.

I'd suggest going to ask a Vetrinarian in you're local area about the particulars of owning certain animals.

My friends aunt has a pet skunk, it had it's smelly part (don't know what it is called) removed so it can't spary, but it loves to bite toes and it's teeth are really sharp.

When you own a skunk....as a pet they take it's stink glands out so it doesn't have the use to spray the nasty stinky shit anymore...

Driving home late one night, I saw something wander out in front of an oncoming truck. Passing by where it happened, I glimpsed black & white and hit the brakes, thinking someone's cat had just got hit and I wanted to see if it could be helped. Just as the reverse gear engage, the smell hit my nose. I got the hell out of there. Though nothing got on my car, the smell lingered for two days.

Well, that sure takes the excitement out of it.
They won't spray where they live, usually. I know if there's two of them in a hole together, they won't spray.
Also, never shoot one in the head.

My mom grew up in New Jersy, and her friend had a pet skunk. It had its anal sacs/gland removed. I think they used it in the school play...
