So, my 7 month old cat just figured out how to drink from the toilet today. Is this good or bad?
>> Anonymous
close the fucking door.

Push the cat in the toilet next time you see it drinking. That'll teach it.

or, alternatively, close the lid.
It's not a good thing.

you shit in there, do you think is goog for the cat? there is plenty of bacteria eg. e.coli

millions of toilet water drinking dogs can't be wrong!
>> Anonymous
OP is too retarded to close the lid.

look, just invest in one of those cat water fountain thinghies.

Even if the intestinal bacteria in the toilet doesn't kill the cat, the bleach and other cleaners people use in the toilet will.

go shit somewhere else.

Why the fuck does your toilet have so much water in it?

It's an american toilet. European toilets have less water.

old american toilets have more water, most are high efficiency models now which only have a fraction of what's in that picture

And you have to flush them 5 times as much, so they end up wasting more water.

OP here, that's not my toilet, I just googled "cat toilet" in large images. And I will make sure to discourage her and close doors from now on.

You shit turds so big you need to flush five times? Stop eating so damn much, you fat american slob.

I'm also having a similar problem, but I'm not sure how to fix it. See, our cat is quite old (she's 18 now) and isn't as sharp as she once was, what's worse is she's hard of hearing or possibly deaf. She began drinking out of my toilet a few months ago, and has made a habit of it. We try to discourage her from it by closing the door or the lid, but whenever she encounters these measures, she meows and howls for hours until someone finally opens the door.

Your cat has learned that if she whines, then someone will open the toilet lid for her.

This means you have two choices:

1) Let her drink from the toilet (why not? there's nothing dangerous about it)

-or-, if you don't want to do that for some reason:

2) Ignore her whining and don't let her drink. Yeah, I know it's annoying, but at this point it is your fault for allowing the situation to get this far. Kitty has learned that whining = toilet water. You have to make her learn that no matter what she does, the toilet water is off-limits.

you could make sure the toilet is clean and free of chemicals, and then put a lot of lemon juice in the water and not flush it, when kitty goes to drink, it will be something she won't like and will start seeking new sources of water

If you have a yard in the back, just put the cat outside with a bowl of water.
You also stop hearing the whine.

This works. I had a cat who would do this, so my brother finally pushed her in and she stopped pretty fast.

You must be someone who believes not to flush unless there's shit in it. I got news for you- not flushing your piss is just as nasty, eurofag.

my cat used to do it even when i didnt flush!

protip: push kitty into the toilet, close seat and flush away, Guaranteed your cat wont go anywhere near your toilet ever again

protip: go back to /b/ and stay there

Keep the lid closed. If you flush with the lid open, the toilet can spray contaminated water up to 6 feet away, which is the entire inside of most bathrooms, including the towels that you will dry yourself with, and ever surface that you touch, and most likely your toothbrush too.

If the cat cries, ignore it, and eventually it will stop. May take a while at this point considering how she has you trained.

its only bad if you have on of those 1000 flushes things

Yeah, I wonder why cats still drink from obviously dark blue water.
