Hey /an/

I've had kitties my whole life, and none of them have ever really liked one another. They tolerated each other, and played around tussled, but none of them ever did any super-cute cuddling and grooming of each other. They just never seemed super fond of one another.

The best my current two cats ever do is sleep on top of the same mouse cage together.

Anyhow, is there anything you can do to get two cats to really like one another? Would it be best for me to get two sibling kittens in the future? I know people who have done that and they still don't like each other.

I kind of figured it's just up to the individual cats but if any you have some personal stories on circumstances in which your cats liked each other I'd appreciate it.

Thanks :]

Feed them together and give them treats together. If you see them being sweet to each other, give them treats.

If one or both of the cats like being petted by you, try petting him/her with a clean sock you have petted the other one with. Or just pet him with your hand and have the sock nearby. I heard the more a cat associates another cat's smell with good things (treats, attention, getting petted), the more they will like the other cat.
