I found this snake in the middle of the road. It fits the description I found on Google'ing.
I live in Alabama (and apparently they are very common here).
It's between 3-5 feet (it's four) in length, and its patterns are the same basic ones on my searching.
On its back are hexagons, and on its middle between every two hexagons are diamonds.

If you need more pics, I have three more.
Someone on /b/ confirmed it was a gray rat snake, but I'm asking /an/ here anyway.

Tell me, /an/, is this a gray rat snake?

Here's another picture.

Seriously, are there any snake experts here?

You don't have to be an expert to know how to google something.

Yes, it is a gray rat snake.

All right, thanks.

I couldn't find any pictures that were exactly like the one I found, so I was asking any potential know-a-lot snake people if they knew how to identify it.

I know they vary in SO many different ways.

But thank you!
