So .an...I figure you guys are the best to ask. I have had two cats for about a year now, brother and sister...they get along and follow eachover around all the time.

I am now temporarily taking care of a 3 year old male cat until I can find him a home, he hates my two cats...right now he is locked in the kitchen to prevent any fights.

No mater how much I try to socialize them he still freaks out...my two cats are just curious about him.

Are there any kitty socializing tricks?

Let them fight it out and sort their hierarchy. After a little fighting everyone will understand if they are top dog or not and then they will stop fighting.

I know you don't want to hear that but that's how it goes down in the animal world.

I'm not the OP, but that just sounds like a trip to the vet to me.
They'll Never like each other, but given a great deal of time they might learn to tolerate each other. I don't have two fighting cats, but one is constantly attacking the other and the other is constantly afraid of the attacker, although he never intends to hurt her (he just wants to play.) She hates him, but it seems over time he's learned to be gentle.

put them in a cardboard box, or a blanket sheath together. they'll love it

My cat used to attack his own son after he became an adult. I gave the young cat away when he lost an eye in one of their fights.

So, I would say that 70657 is completely wrong and male cats can seriously injure eachother if left alone.

I had a bunch of females who would all gang up on one female specifically before they chased her off. I would stop them and they'd tolerate her for a few weeks before they ran her off again.

In some cases sorting things out means somebody has to leave or die. That's also how things go in the animal world.

Don't worry too much about socializing them. Focus on getting rid of the outsider cat. Or if you must, have him declawed. That may make people more interested in him, as well.

Spray some mild perfume/scent on a towel and rub some on every cat's back. This could help them to associate with each other because they'll think 'hey, he smells the same, must be related to me!'

Or something like that.
