millet. and lots of it.
It might be a good idea to clip his/her wings, this makes them more dependant on you, and may be easier to build their trust. My 2 are now flighted, but were clipped when i got them.
Try putting him on your hand, then give him some millet, let him nibble, take away the millet then offer your other hand, offer millet and repeat. He will then learn that hands are good things! "hey! everytime I step up onto this hand, i get some millet!"
Let him be around you alot, talk to him while he is in his cage in a soft voice, or read a book, this gets him used to you. Then when he is comfortable enough around you and your hands, take him with you around the home, either on your shoulder, a playstand or your arm.
It may take time, and some birds never get used to you. But I wish you the best!
