own or have access to a lodge? Anonymous
anyone own or live in a close-to-nature lodge or hut? Ive been thinking about how great such a place would be, far away from the inner city noise and pollutions, somewhere where you could observe nature and wild animals right outside the door.

anyone else with similar ideas and plans? how are you planning to get such a place? would it be naive to believe such a place could be found rather affordably? it doenst have to be a ski lodge with designer gear, but a very basic but functional place to live.

I wouldn't mind having one of these. It'd be a nice retreat from civilization.

I've been considering building a yurt like that, much simpler on the inside though.

nature and animals are everywhere, but if you want something secluded it's quite affordable because property costs less in the boonies.

A lot of people in Cape Breton have a bungalow on the Mira River, they're usually furnished with 2nd or 3rd hand furniture and have little insulation so they're only good for summer.

Could be awesome, and very low cost of living.
Possible problems would be easy access to fresh drinking water and access to hot showers.

And there wouldn't be any cable or gigabit broadband. Or mcdonalds or starbucks in every corner.

I could use something like that.
It would be nice to get away from all the stresses of modern society every now and then.
