I don't think it was ripe...

that's a choko

It's poisonous afaik, we have these in NZ, too. The 'fruit' and the stems have white sappy discharge that, from what I hear, poisonous.

It's basically just a super weed.

it's a choko. It's not poisonous. It's usually used in caseroles and stuff. It's a cheap, easy to grow vegie that people used to eat a lot about 50 years ago in Australia. Google it.

Chokos have only a single pit. This thing has plenty. Therefore, this thing is not a choko.

You mean pip. :)

I remember seeing these in a hentai anime. When they open up, there is a throbbing red penis inside and it lives on female juices if you know what I mean.

Hm, I'm not sure what you mean! Could you describe this phenomenon a little more explicitly, please?

i don't know the english name for it, only the portuguese name, which is pipinelas. it's got one big seed inside that gradually works its way out of the bigger "ass end" of the fruit. also grows and assload of vines.

NZ /an/ here~
That is a Moth Vine (I think some people call it a calico vine too). I don't think it's POISONOUS to the point of death, but it's definately not edible and would probably make you crazy sick. It's known to give people allergic reactions from the white sap.

It is just a super weed, it crawls over other plants and smothers them.

......then spawns pegs in their place.

But seriously, yeah, just a weed with a non edible fruit. If you leave them there they'll dry up on the vine and split in half, letting the 21748291892 seeds inside it fly away and plant itself all over the place.

It is called "chayote" and is edible, just boil it.
>> Anonymous
Wikipedia describes the poisonous moth-vine as "chayote-like".
I suggest before wolfing it down that you confirm which it is (from pictures it would seem Anonymous is right when he says Chayote).

Here in the good country of America we call them by their proper name, clothespin vines. Fucking aussiefags.
