Help me out /an/, I found and rescued this most beautiful kitten a few months ago and can't figure out what breed she is. I'm thinking a bronze egyptian mau, I looked them up and she seems to fit the description but perhaps you can help?

Her attention span is practically non-existent, she's very territorial, feisty, bites and scratches, but has a very loving personality. Also, she purrs very loud.

Although she is very petite, her paws are quite large and tail very long. Her fur is very sleek rather than flutty, and her eyes are also more burnt orange than yellow.

Is she a mau? Or perhaps another breed? She doesn't look or act like a regular short hair.

Sorry was JUST about to post another.
I realize that isn't the best. She's difficult to photograph too, I have to catch her when she's sleeping to get a good one. But she hardly sleeps.

Looks like a feral cat to me.

Buddy, that's a domestic shorthair. A brown tabby. A moggie. NO CAT YOU FIND ON THE STREET OR IN THE SHELTER IS A 'BREED'. Unless the shelter has it's papers or something from the original owners. More than likely it's just the product of generations of mutt-cats breeding on the street. Cats don't work in the same way dogs do- they breed a lot more indiscriminately, being more widely feral. Unlike dogs which are mostly bred purposefully in recent lineage.

Why do people care what breed their cat is? It's a cat. They come in long hair and short hair.

The reason I ask is because of how unique she looks and acts compared to any other cat I've owned. She may very well be just a domestic short hair, but she looks nothing like the regular short hair. I thought perhaps she was a certain breed which would explain her behavior and features.

She was NOT a feral cat when I found her, she was obviously domestic, and lost.

Different breeds have specific medical conditions or needs that should be made aware.

fixed.

Give it food and keep it away from zippo fuel and fires and it will be happy. The essential needs of a cat.

That is a generic feral cat. You could go to any pound or shelter and find 4 exactly the same.

> she's very territorial, feisty, bites and scratches,

This is why catfags are such an idiotic sub-species of human.

But to answer your stupid question, it's a CAT. An ugly looking, useless, nasty-tempered, feral cat.

She is very sweet, just because she bites and scratches doesn't mean she's doing it viciously, she's playing. Her being feisty isn't meanness either, it's playfulness. And she's only territorial to other cats.

She is a sweetheart, when I come home she's eager for my attention, she sleeps curled up next to me, sucks on my fingers, she is quite loving.

ever thought of trying something else?

ITT people don't know what feral means.

How young did you find her?

I found my cat VERY young (he was barely able to open his eyes) in our garbage can, covered in ants and almost dead. Nursed him back from that, and he went from a malnourished little runt to a beast I have to carry with two arms.

He too is a very sweet cat, and for a very long time sucked my finger. And while he never bites/claws anyone else, he's very into clawing/biting me as well, never breaks the skin, just puts my hand in his mouth or grazes his claws on my arm. He's never left a mark on me.

I had a cat that looked very similar -- same color pattern, broad nose inclining back to his forehead, looked really jungley. He grew to be fucking enormous and did weird shit and was an awesome cat. Once I came into the living room and he was lying on his back (his back was curved, only a few inches were actually touching the carpet) with all four feet and his tail pointing straight up, staring at the ceiling. He didn't move when I came in the room.

op, you need to understand one VERY important thing... CATS ARE NOT NORMAL!!!!! you will never find a cat that is exactly like another! personality wise, she sounds like a kitten. yes shes a pretty cat, but shes common, go to a shelter, 25% of the cats there will look JUST like her!!! she dosnt need a breed. you will never "find" a purebred cat sorry to burst your bubble guy!

pic is my run of the mill, but BEAUTIFUL Mix bred mutt cat!
