Scientists discover fossil bones of largest bird ever

This is an artist's impression of a Gigantoraptor, a surprisingly bird-like dinosaur whose skeletal remains were found in the Erlian basin of Inner Mongolia. The creature, standing at twice the height of a man at the shoulder, has been classed as a new species and genus. Courtesy of Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology & Paleoanthropology, Beijing

You know, by the same logic, Velociraptor was also a bird. (Picture related, although it's actually a Deinonychus.)

Waitaminnit... Therizinosaurus was 10 m long and weighed about 3 tons. That's WAY bigger than the 1,5 ton Gigantoraptor!

And yes, we know therizinosaurs were feathered too. In fact they were the closest known relatives of oviraptorosaurs (which is what Gigantoraptor is).

I briefly read something on the National Geographic website that said something about the feathers we see in fossils not really being feathers. Someone should look into that since I'm too lazy.

That turned out to be a load of BS. The feathers are feathers.
