I took two cicada molts off buildings and attached them to my PC case's side vent.

Is this awesome? Creepy? Revolting?

I thought it was fun to collect them when i was little. They were so much fun to look at. And crunchy when you step on them :D!

This is why girls shouldn't be allowed to internet! All they do is talk about stepping on delicious food to keep their figures. Fuck you, dirty cunt.

i always thought cicada molts were kind of pretty. i used to stick them in my little sister's hair, and they are so light she would never notice ;)

I miss Cicadas. Used to find a shit ton of their shells on the trees around my house then would stick them on the fence around our pool looked freaking awesome once we got 50+ of the things on there. Then my mom would get creeped out and make us take them down.

I love cicadas so much, they have lived everywhere I have. I had the ... 14 year kind I think in tucson Arizona, and now In north carolina a batch of 18 Year cicadas came up, which was aweome "Holy shit all these cicadas are as old as me!" I looked them up online and found out you could get 15 WHOLE FUCKING USD DOLLARS IF YOU FIND ONE WITH WHITE EYES! HOLY SHIT ARE YOU HEARING ME? YOU CAN SIFT THROUGH A FEW THOUSAND OF THESE FUCKERS FOR ONE WITH WHITE EYES AND GET JUST ENOUGH MONEY FOR A HYPERDERMIC NEEDLE! THEN YOU ONLY NEED FIVE MORE AND YOU CAN FILL THAT FUCKER WITH HEROIN! YEAH!

Yeah, but with gestation periods of 10+ Years I don't know when I will see them again, maybe there are a couple generations around where I live but I doubt it, so yes I miss them because I won't be seeing them for a long time.

A guy I knew in highschool stuck a bunch of them to his face with spirit gum to look like they were eating and scratching his face, and kept them there for the whole school day on Halloween.

ours are the ones that only take a few years to molt.

and we have multiple generations cycling through.

I get sick of hearing them pretty damn fast in the summer

So you DON'T know how cicadas work.

Tell me where you live and when was the last time you saw them, and I can tell you exactly when you will see them next, retard.

This thread reminded me of how ALL anime use THE SAME cicada background noise.

I said I miss them because I now live in an area that doesn't have them at all. I know how they work and all but that really doesn't matter out here as they don't exist in where I currently live. Last time I saw a cicada was in some guys bug collection at the fair this summer and it was dead. Made me happy to see one after 9 years, but the fact that it was dead was a little depressing.
