My cat nabbed a bird and brought it inside, I got it out if it's mouth without putting too much stress on the bird, which is still alive.There's no blood and no visible injury, but the bird is very still - I gather that it's in shock. I've placed it in an empty fish tank far from reach of the offending cat. It's very still, just breathing and blinking.What should I do /an/? I heard cat saliva is like a slow working poison to birds. I've decided to leave it alone in the dark and just hope it can make it through the night, if it does i'll take it to the vet - can you think of anything else?Picture related, is the type of bird (crested dove).
let the poor cat eat it, i wouldnt go steal the hamburger out of your hands
>>305413I am not going to give my cat a live bird, and I'm not going to kill it myself.
Biscuit.
>I heard cat saliva is like a slow working poison to birds. I've decided to leave it alone in the dark and just hope it can make it through the night, if it does i'll take it to the vetYeah, if it survives all that then take it to the vet. It probably won't though.
You should take it to the vet now.
>>305412Whoa....hang on... cat's are poisonous?

Don't worry guys, the bird didn't make it through the night...;_;
Birds are horrible cat is hero.
>>305591Who didn't see THAT coming?Someone should make a fucking sticky - if you find a sick/dying/baby bird, leave it the fuck alone.

Don't be a pussy OP
kill your cat avenge the graceful bird, not to mention once you kill your cat you will stop being a faggot, will begin going out more and who knows maybe even find a girlfriend
>>305652I don't know about you, but I do have a long-term girlfriend and am currently going to university studying to be a game designer...sorry, I'll try harder not to be a faggot.
>>305659op's gonna kill his cat!!HORAY!!!!
If your cat managed to catch it without hurting it, there could be something wrong with it. Check back in an hour and see if he's active yet.If not, you might want to put him outside, as he could be sick.
>>305412try to rinse the wounds a little.
if you kill the cat, you might be able to reverse the effects of the curse....
Leave out some water and some seeds and throw in some old tshirts so it can rest safely. I've never ever heard anything about cat saliva being a slow working venom to birds, their saliva isn't any more different then a dogs or other mammal so I wouldn't worry about that. If you can bring it to an exotic or wildlife vet, I would do that as soon as possible. There are many wildlife rehabs and any exotic vet should have the numbers. Just try not to handle the bird too much because of bird lice (not a serious problem) but you also don't know what it could be carrying such as fleas or mites etc. Also don't try to clean any injuries yourself because you could very likely make it worse since you probably don't have anti microbial/bacterial cleansing solution. Hope this helps!
>>305659A game designer? Studying? Get out of university and come back when you're prepared to get a real job and contribute something to the world.
