This is my new puppy /an/

I have never owned a large dog, have had many many dachshunds, I have done my research but I would still like to know what I can expect.

I have already seen and started dealing with endless amounts of drool and being the clumsiness and most uncoordinated dog on earth. The chewing on anything it can reach isn't really a problem either. But I would love some advice on how to take care on this pile of skin and slobber.

A kennel is a must..

Feed him dome good food as well.. None of this Purina or Pedigree bullshit.. Get him some Solid Gold Wolf King (wolf king is for large breeds). Once he gets to be about 5 - 6 months old it's time to stop all jumping on people from him.. That may be cute when little shit dogs do it but not when your dog does it (or mine). At one year begin serious training.. That's a start, I guess...

We have a very large back yard with a fenced off area and a doggy house just for her, but it's still far too hot outside so she stays in most of the day. She doesn't have a big problem with jumping, but she is extremely uncoordinated so maybe shes trying but it just comes out as falling over. I'm actually starting to wonder if she has an inner ear problem or something or if she is really just that awkward.

A big backyard is all well and good. But if you only let her run in the yard and because of the yard you neglect to walk / socialize her she will become territorial and maybe even animal aggressive. Be sure she gets out in public while she is young. Expose her to all manner of stimuli that is common in your area. When a small dog is scared or something or angry at something, it's all very cute. When a seriously large dog acts out due to those things it can be overwhelming for the owner and frightening for others. A firm hand and stimulating exercise is a must. A xbawx hueg backyard is not an excuse not to walk and socialize a dog (mind you, I am not accusing you of that.. I am just letting you know)...

Larger dogs tend to shed much more then smaller dogs I believe, so it'd be wise to groom it in the winter/spring.

And something that my large dogs enjoyed(One was a golden the other was a Rodegian Ridgeback/Yellow lab mix) is mixing warm water in with their kibble.
