Haha, it looks like my hedgehog.
>> Anonymous
Don't. They are mean and too powerful. Neighbor's had the guy next to him put to sleep after it bit him, if it was a small dog no one would have cared
>> Anonymous
get one while they're a puppy so you can get them before someone messes with them and they want to eat you
>> Anonymous
>>128060
I wouldn't unless you're specifically looking for an aggressive dog.

why did they put the neighbout to sleep? was he the owner?

is from About.com

Comments: Apart from the fact that the poor pooch pictured above is incorrectly identified in the caption as a pit bull (she's actually a bull terrier), these pictures are authentic. They were originally posted by the dog's owner on a community message board on May 25, 2005. The terrier's name is Inca.

"Thousands of quills were embedded even in her tongue," her owner explained. "The vets worked for quite some time to get quills out and even still could not get them all. The one's that are left will work themselves out over time. Inca is home and on antibiotics and pain killers."

In a follow-up post dated July 13, Inca's owner reported that "she is just fine and has just the odd broken bit come out once in awhile. Other than that she is back to her old self."

Moral of the story: Dogs and porcupines don't mix.

well... there are lots of types of "pitbulls"
the one on the right of the picture came from
flawlesskennels.com they raised her with lots of other dogs from birth, and kept her socialized with other dogs so she doesn't freak out when she sees or smells another dog. the one on the left wasn't but she gets along fine with smaller dogs and gets along with other dogs after a few days.

saying a pitbull is too mean or they just want to bite makes me wanna hit bitches with switches. don't get one if you're new to raising dogs, because they need alot of attention, or if you discipline dogs by beating them half to death and assume "that's how they learn to behave" that's how they learn to bite your face off.

Don't get one. Those things are as mean as shit, its not worth it. They will be nice if you put them through some serious training, but its hard to train them right.

Pit bulls are great because they maul children, and I hate children.

That's not a pit bull, it's a porcupine.

OH FUCK YOU FAGGOT!
>> Anonymous
Most of them are absolutely fine, friendly, normal dogs. A few are not. You'll have to be alert enough to spot the difference. Of course, be ready to deal with fags that think 100% of pit bulls are domestic terrorists just waiting to eat children's faces off and plant pipe bombs. Fucking idiots.

I have a pit bull. She is the nicest, most obedient dog I have ever seen.

This dog is fuckin pwned. See how the quills go through the ear like that? yea. They have to put a dog down when this shit happens.
>> Anonymous
>>128483
I'm sure sedating it and removing all the quills will leave it just fine. Pissy and in pain, but fine.

I like how they call it "porcupine attack", even though it's obvious the dog would be the attacker.

the dog in OP is a bull terrier. not a pit bull.

Forget the fucking faggots who say that pit bulls are rough dogs. I have a male pit bull that's all muscle, and extremely large for his breed (He weighs at least over 100. His head's the size of mine. He could take your fucking face off.

And you know what? He chases butterflies. Rabbits scare him. The only things he barks at is squirrels and anything that looks like a gun. He likes to get his stomach rubbed and will whine at you if you're not constantly petting him. You can stick your hand in his mouth, and he will not bite it. My little cousins regularly feed him things straight from their hands, and never have they gotten bitten.

So, if you're not a dick to a pit bull, then they won't kill you. It's like that with most animals and even humans. Though they might naturally tend to be a little aggressive, people mostly get trouble from them because they are incompetent and when a pit bull bites, they've been bred to not let go and be able to hold on. You never hear of dangerous poodles because the little fuckers can't hold on if you stomp on it, unlike a pit bull.

tl;dr PIT BULLS ARE YOUR FRIENDS
>> Anonymous
I work at a Philadelphia shelter so I've seen a LOT of them. In my experience, they're not naturally aggressive towards people unless you don't socialize them correctly or are horrible to them-- and in that case, any dog would be. They ARE however naturally dog aggressive. Not all of them, in fact, most of the ones I've worked with weren't. But you do need to be aware that they're more likely to get in fights with other dogs. They play hard and bulldoze in to everything with zeal. They have a nice fur length that's easy to keep clean, and the real pitbull is a medium sized dog at about 30 pounds-- good size to me.

If the dog in op's pick was a bull terrier - I guarantee the porcupine is 125% dead. Especially if the dog's face looks like that..
>> Anonymous
>>128877

this was in response to the terrier getting "owned" by the very unlucky porcupine of course

The dog would have died in nature, so they both lost. Porcupwnd.

op is not a pit bull
>> Anonymous
bull terriers are fine but pitt bulls are not. They tend to snap no matter how nice they are and thats not even the problem since many dogs snap the problem is that when other dogs snap they are not powerful enough to rip your face off.
>> Anonymous
Get a boxer they look nicer, are friendly and well behaved, have the same sleek look, are nice to people and dogs.
>> Anonymous
>Moral of the story: Don't fuck with porcupines unless you can handle a gun.

I can't figure out if everyone here is just trolling or fucking retarded.
>> Anonymous
my experience with pit bulls is that they're very nice, friendly dogs. but they're stupid.

they are also very muscular and strong. stupid + muscular = difficult to handle if not trained well.

i agree with the boxer guy, boxer's are pretty smart dogs
>> tigerfeather !CrwtTbFNxQ
>>128898
I've never noticed that trait. You know, the snapping? It's not nearly as common as you're saying it is. Think about how many hundreds of thousands of pit bulls there are in the world, as opposed to how many reported attacks there are. Most of the big sensational reports are due to either 1. the owners training the dog to be vicious; 2. owners being complete idiots (such as leaving an intact male, a female in heat [males become much more aggressive when around females in heat], and a two year old alone together) or 3. dogs coming from abusive situations, which is basically the same as number one.

Bull terriers were bred to do the same thing that pit bulls were, and also have extraordinary jaw strength. Both breeds generally are hardly naturally aggressive towards people. So why are they so much better than pit bulls? Because there aren't as many of them, so the attack rate is low?

I support pit bull extinction.
