i'm posting here because 4chan has no gardening board and this is the closest equivalent. I want to plant a garden and there will eventually be a fence along its back edge. I would like to have autumn clematis climbing the fence, but i need to plant pre fence. can the clematis suvive w/o any structure to climb up? if so, how long? if i give it tomato cages or something, will i be able to transfer the plant onto the fence one the fence is installed? pic: autumn clematis
i think it needs to climb to live
op: i know some of you guys are gardeners, please give me some definite answers
it will grow along the ground just fine, people just don't normally do it becuase the cool part about them is that they can climb, once you have the fence training it upright again should be easy
