Male or Female Pets - which is better? Anonymous
In my experience with bunnies, males are far tamer and friendlier than females. Does the same apply to other pets as well?

Really? My female bunnies are friendlier than the males...

Ah, okay. That explains some stuff. Kthnx. I thought our bunny was a guy because she's so territorial (put your hand in her cage and she will NOMNOMNOMMMit off. Kinda cute XD) but I see that this is now not the case. Thanks for winning the internet.

It's the same with bearded dragons I know. The males take to handling a lot better than the females.

My experience with fixed cats has been that males are friendlier and want to be around people. Females just disappear for almost whole days. Only coming out when they want to be petted.

Really? That's the exact opposite with my cats.
And with my experience with bunnies, both sexes are the same in tameness/friendliness.

My male cat only comes out to eat, poo, and loving, then it's chillin elsewhere. My female cat is a slut for everyone and everything.

My male cat is much friendlier than my females, but both the females have had some stuff happen that's made them skittish (one had dominance issues with a cat we no longer have, and the other had digestive problems that made it uncomfortable for her to be handled) As for rabbits, I hadn't noticed the ones I had were different tempermant wise according to gender. I think rabbits are one of those animals were it depends on breed and how much you handle them to begin with.

Rats are a definite exception: in my experience, females have always been friendlier and tamer, not to mention more curious than the males. And lets not even go into Onset Aggression Syndrome (I think that's the correct name) which affects male rats much more frequently than it does female rats.
