Sorry to bring back an old thread... but has anybody had a welsh corgi? Recently I've been thinking of getting a Pembroke to be exact and I've read they're "extremely active". Can that be translated to being annoying and hyper?

Also more pics wouldn't hurt.

I don't think "annoying" and "hyper" would fit the pembroke bill from what I've heard. As I understand, they're herding dogs sooo they're going to want to DO stuff, they're also probably pretty smart as far as dogs go and will need ways to stay busy. It's probably one of those dogs that will not be happy if it's forced into a couch potato role.

Speaking from experience with the pictured stub, "hyper" generally only extends to when he wants to play. Whip a ball down the hallway a few times, take him for a walk before bedtime and he's happy. They're disturbingly bright dogs, though. We have another dog (a Pomeranian puppy) and whenever he starts sneaking off to find a corner to have an accident in, the corgi will go ballistic until we grab the puppy and throw him in the yard.

Truth. As long as you don't totally ignore them they're very calm and friendly dogs. They can however behave quite mischievous if you don't do any stuff together. Just make some time to play with them and/or walk a big round and you will be rewarded with <PICTURE>.

And I feel the need to again emphasize they are probably smarter than most people. :(

Fuck my picture-taking disability. :(
