At one point in time I had two dwarf hamsters that were brother and sister, though I may have not known this at first, or not cared. Anyways, eventually the female had babies because I kept them in the same cage. Once she had the babies (at least half albino, too), I seperated the two because that's what everyone said to do. Not long after the babies were born, the mother killed all her babies by eating the brains, and just the brains. Cleaned out the corpses and put the brother back in, and the same thing happened; more babies (with albinos), seperated the parents, mom went brain-eating zombie on her kids.
Managed to get her to not eat brains the third time by keeping the father/brother in the same cage. All the babies survived this time, but we ended up getting rid of the whole family except for two non-albino offspring that were both female so they couldn't enact a cycle of giving birth to babies and then feasting on the brains of those babies.
