Ja nimitys pupu tulee siitä, että aikanaan ihmiset luulivat jänisten ääntelevän "pupupupupu," vaikka se onkin helmipöllön huhuilua.

Close up!

That's all for now.

If anyone has any idea what kind of rabbit he is, please let me know, I rescued him from outside and my country has no native wild rabbit population, and the vet I took him to see for a check up says he's still under 4 months old.

Theses seeds will end up killing him.

really? Fuck, that's that last time I listen to pet shop owner reccomendations.

fortunately, I ran out of that stuff a few days ago and have been feeding him a diet of only fresh veggies and hay till I can get to the store again. What brand of pellet do you recommend? Or what components in the pellet?

Check www.rabbit.org for a list of food that is good for him. Seeds will cause GI blockade. He needs free choice of hay to start. Alfalfa until he is one yo and then, timothy or oat hay. Veggies, good quality pellets and so on. No seeds, no bread, no cookies, no milk products, yogurt drops and most treats they sell at the store. Also, fruits and carrots should be given as treats and not all the time. Sugar is bad for them.

I use Oxbow. You got to check for the fiber content. Oxbow and Zupreen(?) are 28% fiber. You can give alfalfa pellets until he is one then timothy pellets. I don't recommend kaitee or any brand with low fiber. Also *gourmet* brands with dried fruits and seeds are terrible. You can give a spoon of groats or rolled oats as a treat and that's it.

I tried giving him alfalfa, he refuses to eat it, but likes timothy hay, will get some other type of feed for him, though I'm in Taiwan so most brands you folks get, we don't.

Maybe he is a New Zealander...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Zealand_white_rabbit
Contrary to wiki, the can also come in red and black.

maybe, I've heard a bunch of theories ranging from a Rex, to a meat rabbit, to someone insanely calling it a hare.

NZers are meat rabbits. Not that you should eat him! And with those ears, he likely will be a huge rabbit. Check for pics when he is full grown. See how much he weights and if it fits the standard. He can even grow to be a Flemish Giant.

Well, I am in the US... Basically, look for the fiber content. Maybe they have Purina Lab, if they raise rabbits there. It's a good brand, but it's made to fatten the bunnies, so don't give it too much. I think the shipping maybe too expensive but they do sell oxbow on line. It's ok if he doesn't like alfalfa, as long as he eats other type of hay. After he is grown, the rule is 1/4 cup of pellets per pound of rabbit. For now he can eat all he wants.

Okay, And yeah, shipping from online stuff is a bitch here, regularly being 50% of whatever the listed price for the item is.
