Can anyone tell me what kind of bird this is? I live on the borderline of Texas and Louisiana and this was taken out in the country side. There were about 2 or 3 flying around my aunt's house.

You can tell a vulture's silhouette from hawks and eagles by the wingtips - vultures splay out their "fingers" in flight.

I love how some people freak out when they think they're viewing a "majestic" hawk and freak out when you tell them it's actually a vulture.

Eagles and larger hawks splay their 'fingers' too. It's smaller hawks that don't.

Probably a buzzard. There are no "true" vultures in the Americas, they're actually more closely related to storks and herons than to Old World vultures.
