So my cat is dying, /an/. :/

I want to make her comfortable and happy in her last few hours. What should I do?

inb4 pooper, etc. pic related, it's her a few hours ago.

Why is she dying? Has she seen a vet?

Bring her inside!!
Put her in a nest of towels and blankets or something.
Offer her cool, clean water to drink.
You can try offering her a treat or two...
Don't be loud around her; let her go out in peace.

She's just an old cat. Her time has come. If you want specifics, I've seen this several times before. She's lost a lot of weight very quickly, she's very weak and there's nothing in her eyes, you know? I don't even think she has much idea of what is going on around her.

tl;dr i can tell by the pixels

I'm doing that. And singing to her. :\

She's with me now, next to the keyboard. I'm trying to keep her mouth and her lips moist with clean water, so yeah, I'm hoping I'm doing everything OK :/

awww. sing, whisper, speak, kiss, keep kitty close.
maybe use a dropper to give it water. if you know its time is near, you should take it down at your vet.

If the cat is dying because it's old and doesn't show any signs of pain you don't need a vet.

From the sound of things, OP, you're doing everything as right as you can in a situation like that. If she's near you, your scent and voice will hopefully comfort her.. just keep her warm and safe 'til it's over. My condolences for your soon-to-be loss.

fuck *that* shit. I'm not gonna have her die in strange surroundings.

when you have one die on you it won't seem so strange.

gonna go to sleep and take her with me, and hope she's not dead in my arms in the morning. :\

thanks for the support and thoughts.

She very likely will be. Just make sure you say your goodbyes before you go to sleep. Animals get old and die, it's just how it goes. I'm sure she knows that you loved her.

Thread is making me misty-eyed.

My condolences OP, I'm sure she had a nice long kitty life <3!

Just hold her close and love her up.
