It's CG, you can't safely put a hole through the shell without serously endangering the dolphin fetus.
>> Anonymous
>>131400

Ok, just to be annoyingly informative and unfunny:

What you are looking at is a picture of a sculpture, not a real live animal.

Basically some eggheads took some really hi-fi ultrasound scans of various mammals and handed the results to a team of sculptors and special-fx guys who then went ahead making an exhibit.
>> Anonymous
I always figured it was more like that Audubon guy who used to kill rare birds to get them to stand still long enough to take pictures.

If you fill a dolphin egg with formaldehyde, you can shine a light through one end and take a picture of the dolphin baby. But he'll suffer brain damage and you won't have a viable dolphin.
>> Anonymous
I thought dolphins (as well as most mammals) gave birth, not laid eggs. Isn't that an umbilical cord in the OP? Things in eggs have umbilical cords?
>> Anonymous
>>131398
Caviar comes from sturgeons, a type of fish.

>>131445
dolphins do give live birth. But even embryos developing in eggs have an "umbilical cord". They need to attach to the yolk somehow.

Dolphins lay eggs. Like Platipi.

Obviously monotremes are the only mammals to lay eggs. Which just goes to show dolphins aren't mammals. They've evolved from dinosaurs just like birds. Everybody should know this by now!
>> Anonymous
>>131395
Jesus Christ, why won't you tell them?

Fine, ok. YES, dolphins are MAMMALS NOT FISH. CRUISE CONTROL. But either way, mammals still develop in eggs inside the womb. Sperm + egg = Fetus. Durp, durp.

Now, to get the image without "breaking" the egg, it's probably just an uber ultrasound. They can do that. I promise.

If not it might just be a photo of a preserved dolphin fetus.

what you mean by "how do they get the camera inside the egg without breaking it"???
they are mammals motherfucker, aswell as the whales and the manatees. duh.
soup, they lay NO EGGS!
not all the mammals are hairy, you know?
so obviously all they had to do to take that pic was to rape Mrs dolphin with a camera and take a picture of the little "fish"
use more wikipedia instead of making dumb questions, and GTFO

Wikipedia is hardly a good source of information. Here is some information gleaned from wikipedia:

-"Popping her cherry" means biting a girl's nipples until they bleed.
-Hymen is a paper-like fabric inside a girl's area that you have to rip open as you
-Dogs cannot look up

Everyone who has taken a biology course knows that dolphins lay eggs.

>>132569
I swear some fo these people must genuinely believe it's true. Maybe it says so in the Bible. Dolphins are mammals and rabbits are ruminates and bats are birds... infallible word of God and all that...

HONOLULU (AP) - When the Operation Flipper detectives opened the door of the second bedroom in an ordinary house in Honolulu last month, they suspected they would find a shoebox or two of dolphin eggs. Officers did not imagine they would discover 2000 polystyrene crates, several hundred biscuit tins and suitcases, containing a collection of 527,707 dolphin eggs.

Oh? The general accepted definition of "looking up" is "viewing the area directly above oneself". I suppose if you define "look up" as "align their skull completely vertical without sitting" then no, they cannot "look up".
