My bald cat. Anonymous
Hi /an/.

I got myself this 10 week old kitten, and he seems healthy and active apart from one thing.

He continually scratches the area right in front of his ears, and keeps loosing more and more hair in that particular area.

He's a lively critter, so the best shot i could get of it (during his "active time") is the one attatched.

Any advice?

take it to the vet. god fuck, stop asking retarded internet people for advice, you'll only end up with a dead cat in your hands that way!

it might be lice, or bad diet, or whatever. if the thing keeps up, ask your vet.

Oh, i forgot to mention, this baldness has been developing for about a week now.
He just got a lice treatment, and some of the eggs are still to be seen around in the fur.
Other than that, he sneeses a bit and coughs, but its fairly rare that he does that.

to continue my rant, seriosly, these threads seem like nothing else but simple attention whoring. "oo look at me i have a sick cat! talk to me! entertain me!"

eat shit and die, just the way your cat is going to die because you dont love her, you only love your gigantic ego and all the praise you get from people for your sick cat.

Yup.
Just here to please my ego.

Because clever people, such as yourself, read my post and spotted all the attentionwhoring going on AND even spotted the fact that it was a "her" somewhere.

I'm askin for advice on this, because i can't dig up anything usefull on google.

check for ear mites. good way to do this is take a Q-tip, wet with proxide and swab the inside of the ear in areas where there appears to be dirt or grime. if the Q-tip comes out red then he has ear mites.

cats naturally have thin hair right there to help with hearing.

He may have ear mites, which cause much itchiness and thus scratching. It is very common and easily treatable. The inside of the ear(s) will have noticeable black areas, which are the mites (microscopic). You can buy over-the-counter medicine (found at pet stores), or be sure about it (it could also be a type of fungus) and take him to the vet (he should get his shots and be "fixed" also, of course, anyway). Be sure and do something, though, as any of these conditions are miserable for the animal. Good luck!
