So I never thought I'd have to do this, but I found a baby bird. Looks about like the pic. Has some feathers, the eyes are open. Feathers spread out on the wings and down the back like a ridge. Put it in a large bowl with paper towels on the bottom near where I think the nest is. I can't reach the nest because it's under the roof of the porch. I can't tell if it broke its leg or not, but it seems to be leaning on one side more than the other. Is there anything else I can do here? I don't know if there's any vets in my area that take in wildlife.

You have two options.

1. Take it to an animal shelter and let them take care of it.

Or

B. Take care of it. I recommend feeding it sliced up grapes. Baby birds need moisture in their food than anything else. Don't feed it worms, I tried that the last time I cam across a baby bird. Thing can get sick really easily.

Leaving it outside is a bad option too. It being on the ground at that stage in it's life leaves it vulnerable to other wildlife.

Not on the ground. Put it on my porch near the back in a large bowl. It's raised off the ground far and there's no real wildlife to worry about.

Not sure if there's any vet centers around that take care of wild animals. It's late here so I might have to check in the morning, but I'm just concerned.

I went back outside to check on it, it had flipped over and its legs were twitching. I nudged it upright. I found a box, about 12" x 6" to put it in. Bottom is lined with paper towels. Hopefully it won't flip over again in the night. I found a local bird shelter, so I think they'll take the bird in, but it's about a half hour away and it's 1:50am. I'll have to check on it in the morning.

I turn into a complete and utter worrying faggot about injured animals.

See if you can find a wildlife rehabilitation center (not a vet or animal hospital) or volunteers that rehabilitate animals. If you have trouble finding anyone, try calling a local environmental center, they usually can find someone even if they have to call a bunch of people and get back to you.
