My cat used to eat elasticbands.

Is this healthy?

when they poop, it will bounce everywhere

other than that, no

My step-mother's cat died from eating string. it got wrapped around it's intestines or something.

i dont think it was the string that killed it, it was probably the gaping hole that allowed a string to get out of its intestines....

of course it's not healthy. my own cat did, pooped them out covered with shit that truly stank because the rubberband held itself in place for some time. can't imagine shit inside of you STUCK is healthy. just make sure no rubber bands lie around anymore. call a vet if the poopage situation gets weird; cat may die due to unforeseen complications

elastic bands and strings and such can tie around and knot parts of the intestines because they are always moving

this is deadly and often requires surgery

my cat often eats them, as much as we try to prevent this from happening. thankfully she just throws it back up with her hairballs.

Let me ask you a question, op. Has anything ever in the history of the universe had a healthy diet consisting of elastic bands?

Well, there you go.
