I thought they ate dirt

they roll it around in their mouths to get the nutrients and spit it out

Fuck you. You don't deserve to own an animal.

They are bottom feeders, and will help keep your tank clean. Are there any other animals in the tank, such as fish?
You could try peas, squeeze the guts of the pea into the tank and they should like that. You could also experiment with other vegetables such as lettuce.

You can feed them everything except things with blue acid like it is in parsley.
My crab like big fish or cucumber. If you do everything right, they will grow bigger than you ever thought ;)

Im thinking of buying myself some pet crabs too. They seem like they would be alot of fun and have alot of personality from what I hear.

I like interacting with my hermits more, but fiddlers are indeed awesome

Crabcakes.

They're cakes for crabs.

I feed my guys algae disks that I've broken into smaller pieces, flake fish food, and as a treat once in a while, dried baby shrimp.

Every other day, or until I don't see any leftovers lying around. I try to sprinkle the food on the sandy part--not in the water. Keeps it cleaner.

I didn't know you could feed them vegetables though..I'm totally gonna try it now.

They're fun. Easy to take care of if you know wtf you're doing.
