Freshwater Conditioner - Expiry date? Anonymous
Hoping someone here can help me. I found some Aqua Master Sure Start Freshwater Conditioner in the cupboard that I used to have for when I had gold fish.

"Makes water instantly safe for fish and aquatic life. Ages water, provides slime coat & electrolytes for fish. Neutralises toxic heavy metals"

My question is thus: does this sorta shit have an expiry / best before date? It's at least 8 years old, if not more. Should i just throw it out, or will it still be good?

Pic related. It's the container.

PS, it's the crystal kind, not the liquid kind.

Conditioner isn't really expensive, I wouldn't chance it. I don't actually know if it expires, though.

I've used ancient conditioners and aquarium salt before (10+ years.. yes I'm a horrible person) - it won't do any harm but it won't be as potent and effective as a fresh bottle. I wouldn't use it on a brand new tank because it won't cycle it enough, but it would be okay for adding after water changes.
