/an/, I am sad... my dream is to become a Vet, most likely specialized in exotic animals, but I don't have the money to go to University.
:(

Pic kind of related plus we can never have too much Red Panda.

you must train an army of hamsters to steal money for you then!

then you must also train them to make cream of chicken soup.

The red pandas are nicknamed Firefox. Infact the creator of the FF logo wanted to use the Red Panda but it was hard to create it into a small, familiar, icon. :)

OP, you're unlucky you were born in the wrong country then. In some "commie" places like here in Scandinavia, universities are financed entirely by taxes. That means they're free of cost for students. Pretty nice if you're an equal opportunity geek like me.

On the other hand, it's nigh on impossible to get accepted to vet school here, since anyone with good grades can apply and it's like the second most popular education (I believe medical school is hotter).

scholarships and grants

actually, mostly grants on this one, if you live in the US.

if you don't have the money, and your family (assuming you live with a family) doesn't either, grants will help you.

It was Becky, a popular TV personality, and she didn't get to keep them ;__; it was just for one day.

Same here. My friend had awesomely high grades and he had taken the right classes, but he still got rejected. He went to Belgium after that because they simply accept you there, disregarding your grades or the subjects you graduated in. It's pretty retarded that it's near impossible to get accepted here, but in the neighboring country there's no fuss. At all.

OP here.
I live in Canada and the grants are pretty rare. I am thinking of getting a student loan and going for Animal Health technique instead of Vet. I might end up with a pretty important debt but I think it's worth it :)
... or move to Belgium, if Anonymus is telling the truth! ;)
Thank you for the tips and the red pandas :D

Or try germany.
Good education and it's cheap.

Actually, I get the impression that most of Europe has free (as in beer) universities. At least France and the Nordic countries (Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark). Forget Iceland, though, all icelanders seem to go study abroad for some reason.

Next summer we have to pay 100-500 euro/semester, universities can decide how much. Obviously, most of us will end up forking over 500.
