So my green iguana managed to rip a hole in a screen window and slip outside. I have no idea where he is. I've looked in all the nearby trees, but I don't see him. I think the time when he got out and I noticed was about 20 minutes. I've looked for two hours now, no luck

Am I fucked? How long can an iguana survive outside? It's not that warm...

Where do you live? Like, what region?
Because they can survive for a while. Probably somebody will find it near their pool or something.

Also, how big is it? I mean, mine was pretty big when he managed to get through the screen (although he never left our yard, so it was okay). Anyway, a big lizard is pretty noticeable :p you should put up some signs around the neighborhood.

It's fairly big. If you saw it walking around you would definitely notice it.

I live in Pennsylvania. It's not terribly cold right now but it's not hot either.

The signs is a good idea...

Luckily, iguanas just run around wild in Florida and hide under bushes and shit. They can handle themselves, so I wouldn't worry about it freezing or getting eaten, but it's still going to be a bitch to catch.

my iguana has escaped twice, and each time he was gone for like 2 weeks. he never went far, just across the street and down a little.

if you have tall trees around you, he will probably be up at the top. we had to call the electric company and get a cherry picker..

once it is winter time in penn, it is too cold for an iguana. yes, we have them here in the wild down in florida..but florida doesn't have a real winter.

op, you are probably fucked. no telling where that fucker went. could stay near your place...could've chased some potential food to who knows where.

I've also had iguanas escape. One was a 3-footer, found it in a tree a few days after it left. Camoflauged very well.

Make signs so if a neighbor finds it they don't kill it. With fire.
