They come into our house through the cat door and eat the cats food...

I've seen a couple youtubes of raccoons doing just that, going through cat doors for food :3

Absolutely beautiful animal. I don't understand how anyone couldn't love them. They're not mean.

P.S. I feed the ones that come to our porch. Pic related, it's me =)

And no, they don't have rabies. The raccoon strain of the virus is isolated on the east coast.

They're not mean? XD
You haven't met many raccoons then.

Cute? Yes. But they do attack cats in our neighborhood from time to time, they are beautiful and I love them but finding them in my house running around is just slightly disturbing

Is that wild or a pet?

I've come across dozens. They only show any aggression if they're caged or cornered and can't run, they're smarter than that.

They completely ignore our cats and my understanding is that they prefer too; they only attack if the cat gets territorial. Hey don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be the local PETAfag, the cat has the right to get territorial and you have reason to be fearful for your pets if raccoons are around, I'm just trying to clarify the raccoons' motives.

Wild. She's one of the few that I've gradually taught to come to me for food :3. She's a nursing mom and an especially sweet coon.

Just saw that you mentioned you don't like them in your house. Yes I understand that; I wouldn't want them in my house uninvited either O_O I just feed them from inside.

There are a few that hang around my place, one has a nest about a hundred feet away. I counted about 6 kits the other evening. I'll try to snag a few pics later.

Nyawwww. <3 Let him eat.

I feed my raccoons. They get peanut butter sandwiches, cat food, whatever's on hand that's good. The possums get apples. :D

Lucckkkyyy. I rarely see raccoons around my house. One did walk up to the storm door of my house and put it's paws up against it to look at me once though. I was going to feed it but he left. :\

You should really not feed raccoons. If they come to expect food at your place they might become a problem. I've known people who had their houses pillaged by raccoons.

Not mean?? Yeah, tell that to the 25+ chickens and ducks of mine they mutilated last summer.

You are absolutely inviting all kinds of trouble by "befriending" them. Can't wait until the day that they completely destroy the inside of your house when they didn't get fed when they wanted to.
