Not true. All coat colors in cats are sex-linked. Orange female cats can only be orange if both their Xs code for orange coat color. Male cats, who usually only have one X chromosome, have a greater chance of being orange than a female does. Tricolor male cats are either XXY (Kinefelter's Syndrome) or, occasionally, chimeras. There is nothing normal about a male calico or tortie, but they do exist.
