HALP PLZZ!!!This baby green anole hatched last night. I was keeping the egg in a pot in my room since my douchebag friend dug it up and I didn't want it to die. I had the pot in a tank with an overhead UV lamp keeping it warm.Anyway, I'm concerned for its health because it hasn't eaten anything in 24 hrs. I bought him little crickets but he wont touch em. I even tried feeding him by holding them up to his mouth with tweezers but no go.Pro-tips needed and appreciated. Help me keep this bebe alive!
try feeding it gerber baby food!
...I don't think that's a green anole. More like a knight anole.
>>319869Also, leave it alone for a bit and make sure it has somewhere to bask, a source of UVB, and proper humidity. You can't expect it to eat right away.
Holy shit, so it is a knight anole, cool.I'm not gonna pick it up again, I just needed a good picture of it. I've made a nice arrangement for it and am gonna buy some sweet fruit based baby food to feed it.Do you guys know if I can release it when it gets a little bit bigger? I live in Miami, Florida so these things are everywhere pretty much.any other feeding tips?and ty for proper identification :D
First off, thats a Knight Anole, second of all, when a lizard hatched it feeds off the yolk which is, now inside it's body, for a day or two.Keep trying baby food and crickets though, eventually, instinct should kick in.
You look like you could be hot. Please post more half naked pictures of yourself please.
yes i agree with posting more pics of yourself OP. you are an animal of much interest
OP here, your wish is my command kind anon
Hatchlings actually don't need to eat for anywhere from 2 to 6 days, depending on the species and the individual lizard. Leave him alone for a day or two and then start feeding him.
>>319895very nice, very nice indeedthank you and feel free to continue
>>319872Please don't release it. They're a severe invasive pest in Florida that kill off the smaller native anoles. Just keep him or sell him. I'd keep him. They make awesome, easy to care for reptiles that are like chameleons in a way, without the crappy lifespan and difficult husbandry. They'll eat anything that they can easily catch. Crickets are fine. I feed my large male orangehead roaches with a pinky mouse every now and then. Make sure you dust the prey with vitamin supplement and have a UVB light in there. If you're going to keep it, you could try taming it down a bit, but it'll undoubtedly be on the defensive side for all its life. Not a big deal if you just want a display lizard.
>>319929I've seen them for sale for up to 30 dollars for a baby..I dont know how it is for lizards, but snakes are worth more the older/larger they are...
>>319939Same usually applies with CB lizards, but captive bred/raised or wild caught status is more of a factor with these. I bought my WC adult male Knight for only $20. A captive bred one could probably get $50. That baby is captive raised, so $30 like you said would be good.Still, you'll never get much for a Knight Anole. That's why the OP should keep it.That baby in the picture is huge. Looks like the size of an adult green anole.
that baby is adorable!!!
fruit fly melangastor, will be your best bet with that little guy.or pinhead crickets, make sure he has the appropriate UVB bulb zoomed 5.0 or reptisun 5.0...also a heat bulb temps ranging into the mid 80's.mist his tank also provide a small shallow dish for water, give him some real plants and some sticks/ vines for him to crawl about.
>>319986>>fruit fly melangastor or pinhead cricketsWhat? That thing can eat 3 week old crickets easy.
stupid sexy OP
/r/ing moar sexy OP
>>319895I came from /tv/ to ask that you post some more pics of yourself. Maybe put the lizard above a nipple or something...
OP here, I just tried jacking off into it's mouth and its actually eating it.thanks for all your help /an/
this thread turned gay pretty fast
>>320259id eat it if you jacked off in my mouth
Real OP here, I totally didn't jack off into it's mouth. -___-I set up some banana gerber food for him. He still hasn't eaten yet, I think I may have damned him bcause I named him Trig (after Sarah Palin's retarded baby)Should I post moar sexiness?Rawrrr
>>320349of course. dick or gtfo. actually just show us your sexy body.. i hate straight dick shots..trig. lol
depending on his size is how you determine crickets, he said hatchling so i recommended pinheads. typically the amount of space between there eyes is the size of cricket you want.
>>320349Yes more half naked please! Also post your face.
