I recently saw a picture of this cat on a thread. Please note that it is fucking beautifull.
What breed is it?

It COULD be a Norwegian forest cat, but I can't be 100% sure without sauce.

Looks like a Maine Coon, but who knows? Could be a Norwegian forest cat or some mix of long haired breeds. Judging by the ear tufts, neck ruff and plumed tail, I'd say it's closest to a Maine Coon, but the eyes say Norwegian Forest cat or something.

It looks a lot like my kitty. I think she is so pretty. :) Look at how much her face looks like the OP picture.

Yeah, I'll go with Maine Coon. Thank you, Anonymous.

Upon further searching and consulting of a breed book, it's definitely not a pure textbook version of a Maine Coon, but it looks like it's a Main Coon mix because of the compact sturdy body and fur type. The face doesn't look like a maine coon face though. It seems to have a norwegian forest cat face.

I'd be willing to bet it's a Norwegian forest cat. They are sometimes said to be ancestors of the Maine Coon breed, and very similiar to them in appearance. And like 171275 said, the face looks Norwegian.

It's Maine Coon according to the owner. I remember original thread.

Maine Coons usually have longer muzzles.

Yes, and wider muzzles. And larger rounder eyes than Norwegian Forest cats. And taler ears, etc...

OP pic looks exactly like the cat I had for 12 years. He was killed by some idiot's dogs last June. T_T
But anyway, he was just a mix. His littermates all looked different.

OKay, so let's assume he's a Norwegian fing crossed with a Maine Coon.

Well I should note I was -told- he was a maine coon. I could be mistaken but he looks like one to me.

And that's all.

Maine Coon and Norwegian Forest cats are both naturally-evolved species who lived in similar environments, despite living a half a world apart.

OP looks more like a Maine coon.
