'De aarde' in Dutch, much like Germans Erde. Another word is 'de wereld', like English 'the world' and German 'die(?) Welt'.
In Sotho (a southern African Bantu language), 'lefase' means so much as the land that spreads out, the big world. 'Lebu', 'mebu', 'mabu', 'mobu' mean 'earth, soil'.
I also have a (little) interest in (international) linguistics or etymology, as in; where do words & dialects come from or how are these languages related or descendent. Great fun.
