Name Anonymous
The name of your animal and how you came about it.

I named him Jackson because we tried Bad Mr. Frosty and we realized that's why too long and gay. Also I was 6 and loved Michael Jackson.

What is it with this amazing biscuit nonsense?

Story, please. If it's interesting enough, I might name one of my kittens Biscuit.

Well, Cookie. She came with that name..
I had a bunny called Ludwig, since he had a crazy and grumpy temperament and rabbit syphillis (I treated and he got cured a week after I got it) like Beethoven and Ludwig II.

stripey because.... he has stripes.

then my other cat we named Sootica, who is a character from a childrens book we were reading when we found her.

my friend named her dog "Loki" after the norse god of fire and mischief, the dog is tiny, so the name seems to fit, because the name is cute.

On the right is Blue (dog) because he's a blue merle....on the left is jitters (ferret) because he is very jittery! We were going to name him Mr.Hands because he was very paws on, but figured it was too mean.

Doakes, in homage to the character from Dexter, because, shortly after I got him, I bought him a female and he shredded her gut open with his teeth. Very desperate, like the original at the end of Season 2.

Well, first there's Mishka (picture is her). I got her about 5 years ago from a professional dominatrix who had originally named her Willow. Seeing as how I hated that Buffy show, I wanted to immediately change her name. An hour later, I had decided on Mishka. No particular reason, it just popped in my head.

There's also Shadow. He was given to me as an early Christmas gift about 7 years ago by a stripper (who, incidentally is friends with the aforementioned Dom). Biggest, blackest cat with the brightest yellow eyes you'll ever see in a cat. We nicknamed him The Little Panther. He's also a bit of a neighborhood bully and refuses to have any pictures taken..

I instinctively quoted Star Wars when I saw this guy at the shelter and said "Who's scruffy lookin'?"

Han Solo didn't work as a cat name, so he was deemed Harrison before I even took him home.

And it's worked out pretty well for him.

Whoa, really? My dog's name is Mishka, I've never met anyone who can even pronounce the name right, let alone someone with a pet with the same name.

we named my younger sisters hamster rambo when we bought him, because he wouldnt get out of the little cardboard thing they come in from the petstore. We tried grabbing him with our hands but he was too quick. Then we tried gently tipping it and slidding him out but he held onto the holes. He also climbs all over his cage. When I bought a guinea pig i named him Rocky to go along with the Silvester Stallone movies.

I know i probably pronounce it wrong (Mee-shka), but that's more of a distinctive choice. Plus, I realized a little too late that Mishka is kind of a male's name (russian nickname for Mikhail)

Still funny though, you're the only other person who has a pet with the same name. I can imagine it being the perfect name for a Malamute or Huskey.

First, there's Wolf. If you can imagine my creativity, he's a Shepherd mix and thus looks very wolf-like. Plus, it just seemed to fit with his personality.

And second, there's Lucy. When we adopted her, she was already named that, and I liked the name Lucy. Plus, because she'd called Lucy, we made her full name Lucifer. Because she's a fucking devil.

lol, that's how we pronounce it too.
I didn't know that about the name, that's interesting. My stepdad was the one who picked it, I think he pulled it from a novel or movie. However he got it, I doubt he knew the history behind it.
She's a miniature schnauzer, pic related though it's a couple years old.

This is Bruce about a year ago.

I named him Bruce because when I got him, he was kinda small and a little weak for his age, so I decided that he needed a big, strong name to live up to. I figured - "Hey, Bruce could be like Bruce Banner and Bruce Wayne! Awesome in the DC and Marvel universes!" Bruce is now quite the man's man and is roughly the size of a softball <3

In chronological order...

Hercules Sonic St. Nick Einstein. All one name. I named my hamster this when I was six years old.

When I was 8 I got goldfish. I named them Laurel and Hardy, because one was small and slender, and the other was fat and had a black mark like a mustache over his lip that looked like a mustache.

At 10 I got a puppy, and I named him simply "Ribsy" because at the time I was reading the book of the same name. My mother wanted to call him "Sir Walter Ribsy" but I was against it, finding it lame.

No other pets until I was 18, and strays just started showing up on my door (and no, I don't still have very many, many have passed on or dissappeared.)

First cat was an orange male cat I named Ali. Just found him sleeping on my door step one day. Decided to feed him. He decided he liked climbing on my back, and meowed daily until I relented and let him stay inside. His behavior took an odd turn though, and he suddenly became strangely aggressive, and would start walking around my apartment with a toy in his mouth crying. I called a vet, and they advised me to take him to the shelter for ten days of monitoring to see if he was rabid. He somehow escaped the cage they put him in on the way there, and was gone when they got there. Never found him after that.

Then found an unbelievably sweet female bengal kitten. I named her Chance because of the odd series of events that lead to me getting her. She unfortunately got out one day, and was hit by a car.

(but wait, there's more...)

Half a year later I found Shadow. She was a little over a year old (according to the vet) and pregnant when I found her. I didn't initially want to take her in because I was still upset about Chance getting run over, but the shelter said they'd just put her to sleep since she's pregnant, so I opted to keep her. Unbelievably sweet cat. I named her Shadow because the coloring around her eyes makes it look like she's wearing eye shadow, and she follows me around everywhere. I know it's an unoriginal name.

Her kittens names:

Alexander, Duchess, Marilyn, Ronin
Sparkplug, Jitterbug, Guinevere, Christian
Bowie, Trudy, Midas, Celeste

Yes, she had three litters of kittens. Yes, I found good homes for all of them. Yes, I'm getting her spayed. Yes, there's a story behind each name.

Gary - for a female cat. She's brain damaged and so she needed a retarded name to go with it.

And then there's Lacey - was thinking of calling her Lucita, which means light in Spanish. Then we moved to Lucy, then to Lacey because it's prettier. Weird thing is, she loves playing with shoelaces.

Tokico, Turbo - part of a litter of four we fostered. They all got car names.

Equinox, Solstice - two kittens I adopted within a week of each other (they were abandoned at a pet store I worked at), we just wanted a cute pair name

Jagr - my mom's schipperke, she likes Jaromir Jagr, the hockey player

some previous names - several Lukes because I loved Luke Skywalker as a kid. Peugeot, Maybach, Mugen, Maserati, all rats we've had. Car themes are pretty prevalent in my house. Timmy the anole, after the kid in Jurassic Park. Kirby, a schipperke, because my mom likes Kirby Puckett. Muggsy, a cockatiel, because my mom likes Muggsy Bogues.

I tend to not name my pets retarded bullshit names like MOONFALL or ELFEARNINJASHADOW.

I've got Clowie, who is a manx.

And I've got one called Longtail. Yeah, I know, Longtail is a fucking stupid name in a very obvious sense, but she was the only normal tailed cat born in her litter (rest were Manx)

Pic related. It's Longtail.

One internet for you. Just because.

I can't recall many of my pet names. First one was a guineapig called Django, then I had Eddie. Shakira and Midajah as well, also guineapigs.
