is it huskies that have the bright blue eyes? my deaf friend had a husky (I think?) with one bright blue eye and one brown, and it understood sign language, and I had to do everything in my power NOT to steal her and take her home with me
>> Anonymous
yup, its the huskies.

the dog would have realized what you were doing and probably bitten you. you won't believe how smart huskies are

I seem to remember she was eerily intelligent. she could definitely tell that I was smitten with her

I think you took that a bit too seriously. It's like when you say "She's so cute, I can eat her up!" or some shit like that (But not as gay).

and australian shepherds, and anything that else has the genes for a merle coat. (danes, doxies, catahoulas, I have even seen a solid red pit with ice blue eyes - no idea how that happened, though.)

I don't see how eye color can be random, what you're saying sounds improbable. Especially since heterochromia isn't random at all.

but it is. thats why you can find blue eyed ppl deep down in africa... mostly they will have brown eyes since they are more resistable agains bright light. but still there are

Genes are random. Genes determine the eye color.
>> Anonymous
>>222925
genes are not random they are set 100% by genes of you ancestors ( mum and dad)... which are taken these from your mom or your dad is chosen randomly...

HA HA HA OH WOW

A few other breeds have blue eyes or one blue/one brown. Ex: Catahoula leopard dog.

*sigh*

Look, whatever the kerfuffle is, yes, eye color is determined by genes. No, the genes for eye color does not determine intelligence. If it did, we'd have a LOT less Asians with engineering degrees.

Also, we should note here that pembroke welsh corgis, poodles and german shepherds, all very smart breeds, do not have genes for blue eyes.

Uh, you don't happen to live in Bay Area CA do you?

And you sure it was a girl?

Because this is tripping me out.

I think it's also notable that there can sometimes be just faults at how the pigmentation is built.

I know this is an animal forum but I'm using myself (also animal) as an example of this, I have a blue and a half blue half brown eye.

>half blue half brown eye.

I for one would be interested in seeing a picture of this.

I had a Husky/Malamute mix that died recently, but he had bright blue eyes with really cool brown lines in sort of a starburst pattern.

He never made any noise, scared the crap out of people. Awesome dog. ;_;
