Does /an/ own horses? I'm looking to buy a riding horse but have little experience with them. Anything a beginner should know before buying one?

Why do women love horses so much? As a dude, my friends and I never cared much about them one way or another, but there are shitloads of girly books about young women riding/taming/rearing/whatever horses. Plus, the only really serious 'equestrians' I've ever seen have been women. What's the deal with that?

It's a good question. I was one of those horse-mad girls and I can't even tell you why. Even when I was a toddler I was playing with MLP and completely ignoring my dolls. I personally wonder if it's genetic, related to the human desire to domesticate animals; after all, girls seem to go horse mad whilst boys seem to go dog mad. Some people just seem to be born with it, like it's some kind of left over instinct from the caveman times. The men associate with animals like dogs and cattle, the women associate with cats and horses.

This thread reminds me why I love bestiality so much.

So goddamn much.

The beast fags on /an/ are getting to be as bad as the paedophiles on /u/. Maybe we should start tracking them down and skinning and gutting them. We could post photos on /b/ and spawn an entire month's worth of debate as to whether they're real or not.

BRING IT. I'm 6'9 which sounds like A lie.

But I'll die before I give up bestiality, women with snakes, dogs, horses. THESE ARE THINGS I WILL DIE FOR!

Yes, I've no doubt it's a lie. You're thirty five, fat and pimpled and still living with your parents. Besides which, I doubt you could move very fast because of your haemorrhoid problem. Being dicked by your father on a regular basis will do that to you. Go see a doctor.

Will do.
Bestiality.

Grinding their pussies on the back of a "powerful" and "muscle packed" horse makes them wet. The end.

...so where does that leave a toddler with shit and piss in her daipers chewing on a plastic horse?

You know, I've actually heard stories of women orgasming on the backs of horses. I certainly can't judge their veracity, though...

>>304260
Hmmm...could be. Maybe it's a cultural thing, though. If you'd forgive my ignorance and intrusiveness, since you mentioned dolls, did your parents buy more 'my little pony' toys for you than, say, barbies, etc. when you were young? Perhaps if you were exposed to more horses as opposed to other things as a child, that would result in your later affinity for horses.

Pardon my intrusiveness, of course, I don't mean to pry. Merely satisfying my inner academic, I suppose :)

On topic:

If you have no experience with horses, buying one is a very bad idea. They are a LOT of work and money and require you to know what you're doing from experience to actually live. Your best bet is to find a place that offers riding lessons and take some for awhile. (By awhile I mean 2-3 years.) Once you know what your doing and have learned enough about how to take care of them, then you can look into leasing a horse and discover the ridiculous expenses that come with it - vet, farrier, dentist, etc. Once you are completely comfortable with your skill as a rider and your ability to take care of the animal (as well as making sure you have the money to continue to do so) only then would I look into buying a horse.

I've been riding for over 10 years, but I took lessons, joined Pony Club and leased various horses for five years before buying my first horse. It takes a long time to progress to the point where you're ready, but it's the best way to find out if you actually have the dedication to keep going. In my experience, 70% of new riders quit after the first year.

This Anon speaks great truth. Listen to them, for they are wise in the way of the pony. :)

Not saying you shouldn't get a horse eventually (it's almost every horse-rider's dream), but geting the experience handling them/riding them at a riding school is really essential.
It also gives you opportunity to get in contact with other people who can give you advice for when you DO want to get a horse, in things like where the best livery stables in the area are, who's a trustworthy dealer/which individual is selling a good first horse, etc etc.

You may have a gun but I have complete anoniminity. Plus my grandfather inherited me his old Single Action army revolver, but the gear that revolves the ammo holder is worn down so it only fires once and you have to manually turn it agian. BUT THATS ALL I WILL NEED!
>> Teh'adriel, Elven Paladin !1EVr3uyPJI
Good luck pulling your SAA on me with a .40S&W in your gut.

Also, do you carry that thing around with you like I do? Do you even have a CCP?

You should take that old thing to a gunsmith though, you could get it fixed pretty easily. Sounds like rust to me.
>> Anonymous
>>304658
No it's not rust, I can see the gear, it's either chipped or just worn down (Maybe grandpa was into russian roullete?)
>> Teh'adriel, Elven Paladin !1EVr3uyPJI
>>304660
regardless, unless you're planning to sell it, a gunsmith could fix it for pretty cheap.

>>304662
Oh no I really want to get it fixed, I just can't find one around my area.

Yeah yeah yeah, go show each other your e-penes somewhere else, you two.

How does /an/on feel about adopting an ex-racing horse? I saw a documentary about the short and pitful life of racehorses, but there are places that try and give some retired fail racehorses some kind of a decent life.
