Think her purr box is broken... Anonymous
So we got this kitten about 4 weeks ago from a shelter (she was 7 weeks old at the time), and while she's an awesome cat, she's literally, and I mean *literally* constantly purring. She's all energetic, which is normal, but even when she's laying down, she's purring. I'm not really worried, it's just unusual, as our first cat didn't do it when she was small. Could she just be in a perpetual state of happiness?

Some cats are just more purry than others.

young cats purr when they want their mother to take care of them. older cats purr when they feel cosy and happy. but cats sometimes when they are insecure or scared.

if OP pic is related, kitty doesnt look really scared. kitty might just be very cuddly and cuddlesome. i dont think you have to worry about it.... it will probably wear off anyway.

btw, she's really pretty.

I heard purring also heals when sick.

Kitty might just be really happy.

Or she just might purr out of habit. Every cat's purr is different, and some do it for no reason at all. It's been theorized that many cats purr unconsciously.
