Snailkitten is Home! Bitter Anon !!WJLRQ1cwCyZ
Some of you may remember the "adorable" bobcat hybrid kitten crawling about in a rat igloo, known as snailkitten.

A week ago, she escaped the house while in heat. I have never had a pet run away, and was extremely upset, enough that I actually had a neighbor call the cops because I kept asking to check inside his garage for her (okay so she wasn't there, but I had to be sure!)

But now, she has returned! And came with a friend. I think she might have his babies. He is very burly and.. well, see for yourself. I am horrified at the spawn that this hambeast will make with my dainty demon snailkitten.

What tales of woe do you have of runaway pets and/or unfortunate reproductive pairings?

She is the first cat I've ever let reach maturity before spay/neuter, and the only reason she isn't already snipped is lack of fundage.

I will have her uterus removed before the month is out. Well, unless she is infested with kittens, and then it will be after they are born.

Golly, I sure hope she has bobcatbrandokittens!

I can't tell if the burly bastard of a cat is just really fat or really really muscular for a cat. Likely the former.

Still, he looks like he's planning to fuck you up if something happens to his offspring in potentia.

You can get a kitty abortion. Quite frankly, I'd rather kill the kitties quickly and painlessly before they know what's going on than have them live a horrible depressing life in a shelter and then get euthanized anyway. Some 70% of cats in shelters get put down......it'd be better not to have to put those kitten through that. =/

Exactly. He is still lurking around outside, hiding from my tomcat. I used to think my tom wasn't scared of anything, but he's not running him off, just following him around and keeping him away from the door. Kinda like "Plz don't raep my sister or eat my food"

>>88768
Snailkitten's kittens already have homes lined up. I was intending to breed her to another hybrid that is owned by a friend (sorta was torn between that and fixing them both, but they would just make such spectacular babies), and if she isn't 'with kitten' now, I might still. I don't know, I kinda want to keep this from happening again, but also.. she's just too darn strange.

her potential mate is an f2, a direct descendant of a bobcat, but shows mostly his mother's traits: Long white and orange hair, but with the short tail, extra teeth, black paws, ear tufts, etc. Really bizarre.

Anyway, I have taken to calling the male hambrando. He does appear to be more muscle than fat, but he's got a good layer of blubber on there. I guess when you intimidate a cat that kills fucking crows, you eat pretty good.

If your OC (original cat) is a hybrid, she doesn't look like it. I don't see any bobcatlike features. Is she big or something?

Wow, that OP could be a new Serious Cat.

She's an F3 hybrid(Meaning, one or more of her grandparents were bobcats). She has black paws, extra teeth, small ear tufts, is very front heavy, bobcat facial proportions, etc. She may not photograph her wildcat side very well, but if you hold her next to a "normal" cat, or see her interact with any, it's clear she's unusual. I saw her mother a few times, and she looked like a bobcat someone painted to be tabby. Snailkitten's underside is also the same as a bobcat(dusty sand and white), as well as her fur texture (Some hairs change colour four or five times, and she does not have an undercoat).

And actually, at 6 months old, she's only about 5 pounds. It was expected that she reach 10-15 at maturity, but she had a very rough start (srsly it's doubtful she ever fed from her mum), and is extremely active and lean.

I tried to come up with some racial joke, but I just can't quite get it to be offensive.

Maybe I can get a good picture of his face, and he can be serious(lyoverweight)cat, but he is no seriouse cat.

Late in '91, my family's siamese in heat got out and got knocked up by a local feral cat. She has her kittens on 5 JAN '92 and my sister 'n' I convinced our parents to keep the runt of the litter. We named him Sebastian. On one morning of his first Christmas season, Mom got up to find the tree on its side and the ornaments all over the house. After that, Dad wired the tree to the ceiling so he couldn't do that again. Though he was the runt, he eventually grew to be so big boned, he weighs 15 pounds. Funny thing is he's the most easily frightened of my family's cats. But he's really sweet.

I have an addiction to runts. They tend to have the biggest personalities of the litter. I currently have an adult male rat and his brother.. but the 'brother' is the younger brother, and literally is three times the size of the adult. He's like a huge mouse.

Where the HELL do you get your statistics from, PeTA? Animal shelters like the SPCA have a 76% or higher successful adoption rate each year. That's pretty damned good considering all the animals people dump off on them.

Whatever you do, though, don't ever give a pet to PeTA to take care of. Their last report showed a 90% kill rate of animals they take in and only a 6% adoption rate.

they love animals too much to see them living in "slavery". Your family pet may seem to be happy but to live with humans is BENEATH HIS DIGNITY!
Only when there is no organic life on Earth will PETA judge that animals are "respected".

Hurf, I spose I should mention I'm a due-lapsed member of Peta. Let this be a lesson to you that "petafags" are not all radical freaks who want to 'save' animals from human corruption.

Official policy states it is wrong to keep an animal as a pet, and that I agree with. I don't think it's wrong to allow them a choice in the matter, and to do what is best for them as best you can. I tend to value the species over an individual: that is why I spay/neuter my pets. I would rather there were no accidental litters, because it means babies that might have less fortunate futures than that of their parents. I'd rather they didn't exist than that they live poorly. The cats come and go as they please (Except when it's in their best interest to stay, ie during thunderstorms, hurricanes, or when in heat), I provide them with love, food, and shelter. My dog could easilly escape the yard (four foot fences, and he has jumped them when frightened by visitors and the like), and could leave anytime he wants. The only "pets" I have that do not have a choice really are my rats. It's better that they stay here and are spoiled rotten than to waste away in a small tank with a hundred inbred cousins, though. They can't survive on their own 'in the wild' anyway.

My point was, that yes, Peta has some strange and overzealous notions. Yes, they DO put animals to sleep in their shelters, if they cannot find a good home for them. They would rather put an adult dog to sleep so they can house a puppy. Most shelters are like that, some creatures are just more difficult to find sutable homes for.

The thing is, that I agree with that somewhat. A shitty home is NOT better than no home. A gentle death is better than starving to death from neglect.

A 'pet' should be thought of like a teenage human; They can stay if they like, or go, but if they stay, you do what you can to help them.

Course most teenagers are fucking retards.

If you give kittens away to a shelter you are an asshole. I've had about 5-6 litters of kittens been born(call me neglegent, whatever) and every kitten has been given away to a good home. Spending some time out in front of wal-mart, or even putting a free kittens sign out in front of your house will usually do the trick.

>every kitten has been given away to a good home.

Wow so you give kittens to people:
That you don't know
That you will never see again

Do you at least make them promise not to skin the kitten alive? I mean, they're honest folk, of course they are telling the truth.

Shelters make you fill out forms, and many have a "one day" policy, as in you can't take the animal home the day you buy it (stops impulse buys). Yes, you can lie on forms, but they usually require a driver's lisence or the like, some way for them to be able to contact you, and a contract requiring you to keep up with the cat's vet visits for a period of time.

PS Walmart sucks

>> tigerfeather !CrwtTbFNxQ
>>89235
No, actually, I don't get my statistics from PETA. The reason that the ASPCA has such high adoption rates is because most SPCAs are no-kill shelters and only put down unadoptable or sick pets. I'm talking about city and county shelters.
>> tigerfeather !CrwtTbFNxQ

Psst....secret:

There are a lot of people out there that browse newspaper ads for free kittens because they take the babies and sell them to research facilities.

Enjoy your negligent pet parenting.

They will also go through your lunch (if you work for them) and berate you if you are so callous as to have a slice of cheese. Some of their members were arrested for breaking into people's back yards and euthanizing their pets.

They're a bunch of ascetic nutcases who are determined to throw the baby out with the bath water. Stay clear of people like this.
