poor cats
i feel sad for them
>> Anonymous
Wow... do they have bone problems or anything with such short little legs?

I feel sorry for these cats should they ever escape their homes, they'd die in a matter of days.
>> Anonymous
This shit pisses me off. Asshole humans fucking with nature for shits and giggles. There is no reason a cat like that should exist.
>> Anonymous
>>331192
Fortunately no. The cat skeleton seems to be better suited for abnormally short legs than that of dogs.
>> Anonymous
wow corgi-cats
>> Anonymous
These are my two favorite types of cat!!
>> Crazy Cat Lady
>>331182
so wait, just their legs bones are short or the whole body? u'd think if it's just their legs they'd have trouble balancing and shit.......

>>331184
D'AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW i wants to snuggle it
>> Anonymous
>>331202

There's also no reason that a domestic cat should exist. They aren't natural, but most people don't have a problem with it. Same with dogfags. They sure love their breeds that are so far gone from their ancestral form that it's difficult to recognize it as the same species on morphology.

Munchkin cat is just a breed, like corgis or terriers. Cats need more breeds. Fur length and the occasional ear bend get boring.

That's like saying we should breed more dwarves and those guys with no arms, they're so funny to look at!

Genetic deformities cause so many problems down the road.
>> Anonymous
>>331202

Humans didn't do this. The original munchkin cats were found under some trailer or something, presumably a standard "natural" mutation, and doing fine themselves. They decided to keep breeding them from there.

So would 75% of dogs, most hamsters and gerbils, and any tropical bird kept in a cool temperate climate. I don't see you crying in any of those threads, faggot.

>>331815

Actually, a genetic deformity (mainly the size of the jaw muscles in relation to skull capacity) is what allowed humans to develop such large brains, allowing you to do things like use the internet and think critically instead of making random claims based on emotion and not scientific study.

>>332472
point taken you communist asshole.
>> Anonymous
>>332475
Well I'll be damned. You learn something every day in /an/.
>> Anonymous
>>332475
It really is funny how we call some things deformities and some are just treated as mutations and accepted as a good thing. It's all down to environmental conditions whether a genetic mutation is beneficial or not. Many of the weird mutations we see in pet breeds are the same that have made modern mammal species what they are now. For instance one mutation that causes taillessness in cats works in the same way as the mutation that caused the loss of tail in apes. The cats with this mutation even possess an ossified reminder of a tail, just like the coccyx in humans.

You dumb ass cat fags arguing about cat breed is rather fucking retarded and illogical. You wouldn't even be ABLE to have a cat in your fucking home, if it weren't for humans tampering with nature. Fucking retards.

Why don't you all just become vegetarians while you're at it?

OMG this kid is so cute how do we breed more like him I want one too!
>> Anonymous
The only thing I've got against the breeding of munchkin cats is that from what I understand, the gene that regulates leg length, also happens to be the one that handles the development of their hearts.

If these guys ever got really popular, it wouldn't take many bad breeders to fuck up the entire gene pool with heart defects.
