1) Depends on the dwarf (chinese, russian, winter white, and robovski or whatever are the choices i think you have, some can't be kept together but some can, my hamster lore is rusty)
2) pretty sure all dwarves are short-haired
3) i had two chinese dwarves together when i was really little and i don't remember them fighting ever. they were females but perfectly mellow little critters.
4) first, do your research online and know exactly what you want and what you're going to look for as far as health, etc. this includes scoping out the animals' habitats (and that'll apply for a store or a home breeder). once you know what to look for, it won't matter whether you go to a big chain pet store, a mom and pop place, or get them from some dumb shit little kid breeding animals for the "experience." every place is different - not every private breeder is awesome, and not every big pet store chain is complete shit.
