hey guys. what are good toy, non-shedding easily-trainable doggies? i'm getting a new dog probably within the next few years and i'm looking for something small, non-shedding, smart and interactive dogs, something no more than 12 lbs or so. i want to get a papillon, and i know that they require considerable grooming but they're supposed to be really smart and trainable. what are some other breeds, /an/?pic related, it's a bichon/poodle cross. i met one the other day at work and it was really smart and friendly.
How about a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel? Not really non-shedding but they are small, smart and interactive.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cavalier_King_Charles_Spaniel#Personality
I grew up with a bichon, awesome dog. A lot of the little terriers don't shed, but they can be yappy and annoying sometimes. Italian greyhounds are cool too.
Unfortunately a lot of companion dogs require grooming of some sort.Poodle would be a great choice, though. Very easy to train and they're great companions.
>>341547my sister's dog looks like a whippet. she's a beagle cross, though. i hear that whippets are kind of high strung. :\>>341560my aunt and uncle have a chinese crested (non hairless) and he doesn't shed at all nor does he need much grooming. he's a big baby though. ):
long-haired chihuahua. definitely. srsly. noisy bastards tho
>>341857i don't mind noise. a bit of training and it should stay relatively quiet. but i'd love to have a chihuahua. my boyfriends neighbour is a breeder actually, but only shorthair. that's fine though. :3
