They're nice dogs if you don't spoil them to hell. Treat them right and train them good and you can't help loving those loving, gentle bastards.

THEY LIKE TO EAT BABYS FACES

I've been afraid of them ever since I was little. :/

Great dogs when given the RIGHT owner.

A couple down the road from me had one and he was an untrained asshole. I often crossed paths with them while walking to the bus stop. Fuckin' dog had to wear a nice, creepy, basket muzzle and would be at the end of his leash trying to eat me every single fucking time I passed them. Of course the owners were pathetic hippy "we don't train our dog man, we love him" types. So not the dog's fault.

Met a nice rottie named Caleb and felt much better.

Great dogs. Big soft friendly lumps, mostly.

I had one once. He was sooo lovable! I miss Bruiser so...

I hate those fucking dogs.

Then again I hate all dogs.

Pretty cool. We had one who was a bit old-schooled regarding our cats (i.e. cats=food), but he was a total baby with humans.

Socialized...best. animal. evar!
>> Anonymous
You do not abuse him as a puppy, that should be obvious but my dad almost had his arm bite right off from one who was. Other then that they are like big, no massive, lovable meat monsters.

...Well, actually that's cheating, 'cause she's a Rott-Rodgien mix, but aside from the dagger on her back...

Awww! He thinks he's people! :D

I hear stories of peoples rotts getting stolen by thugs for dog fights.

Yup. Don't leave rott puppies outside alone, especially in urban areas.
I imagine it must be heartbreaking. Not only has your dog been stolen, but you also know that its going to be abused and raised to be a fighting dog. Oh god I fucking hate those people.
>> G??????????????
when i was really little i got chased repeatedly by a huge black and tan dog, either rottie or a Doberman, i don't remember. they went away and this huge gentle mutt started wandering around my house. after that i loved dogs, still do. every rottie i've met after that has been fairly nice. not cuddly, but then again i was a stranger. they never seemed hostile.

I had three Rotties in my entire lifetime and I've loved every one of them, especially my girl Judie. Every time we got new dog food for her she had to "test" it via eating a spoonful sample first.

God, I miss her. ;_;

My sister had a rott-sheperd. I killed it with a crossbow and a big stick. I fucking hate the worthless animals.

Obvious troll is obvious.

Try again with less fail.

Once I was waiting at a bus stop, and a guy came by walking a rottweiler puppy. The thing climbed in my lap, it was pretty adorable. But large breeds need to be properly trained and socialized

Had one for years now and he's one of the sweetest and smartest dogs I've ever known.

He's a HUGE dog, even by rottie standards (About 160lbs or more) and very intimidating because of it, but his temperament is awesome. Super friendly around new people and children, incredibly obedient and trained.

I think they make great dogs as long as the owner is willing to put a lot of effort, especially when they are puppies, into training them and socializing them. They have the potential to do some serious harm to people if they are neglected and untrained. Beautiful dogs, too, but MAN can they be gross. Drool-buckets. Gotta trail after with a mop.

But Harley, my rottie, is never aggressive towards people. First thing he does with a newcomer is get right up in their space and pester them for pets.
