rose eugenics Anonymous
Does anyone know what species of rose this is? I love the excessive spines, think they might be a mutant trait, and I want to pollinate the flowers so I can grow more. This is the only one of its kind in my garden though, and I'm affraid if I cross pollinate with one of the others I'll lose the mutant hellthorn look.

plant-sex has indeed occurred, the flowers have turned to hips (the ones left, most of the hips got taken off by the last hard pruning I gave it), but now the stems to the hips are yellowing. does that mean they're ripenning, or diseased?
