This is my cat.

Whenever I scratch anywhere near the base of his tail, he chews on his foot. He hasn't taken out any hair, and he hasn't drawn blood. He seems to enjoy having his tail scratched.

Why does he do this?

Because he's stupid.

Well, that IS true. He's a fairly dumb cat.

Most cats react strangely when you scratch them there; mostly licking their lips or meowing though. Never heard of a cat chewing on himself.

It is an erogenous zone for the cat, pervert.

He is gay and has a foot fetish

Mine used to fall over immediatly and would then proceed to vigorously attack the offending hand.

You're jerking off your cat, basically. Have fun.

Now I feel bad for thinking it was funny that most (not all) of my cats do this too. My friend has said my dog does it as well, but I haven't tried.

It's weird, though, because it only started about a year ago. (He's 8 years old.)

And when I get touched in an erogenous zone, my response isn't to chew on my foot.

You might as well be spanking his tiny little weiner you sick fuck.

My cat does this too, but she's a female. Do all cats just have the same reaction?
