Uhm, he's a fishing cat. That's not a name. That's the species. Look it up on wikipedia.

Wow. He really could use a bigger litter pan there.

I wonder what the legality of one of those it in the states...

Most likely illegal due to CITES laws unless you were a bona fide wildlife rehabilitator or zoo.

Keep in mind that fishing cats are NOT domesticated, so while you could keep one as a pet with a lot of work, there will be some problems you'll have to constantly put up with such as urine spraying and agressive behavior.

It would be feasible only if you had a lot of money and a TON of time to devote.

Yeah, basically anyone who has to ask here is probably not not qualified. On the other hand people in the states keep other exotic cats (as pets, yeah it is kind of weird) and it is possible to train them to be not overly aggressive. I think this would be a good example (OK, it's in Canada, but still):

We need someone who can read Russian to go and make a better translation of Fishing Cat's Website.

Just check out mix breed cats like savannah cats or safari cats. While they don't have the raw power look of fishing cats, they are pretty much a superpowered house cat that doesn't have nearly the problems of bearing a wild animal.

Any wild cat that you could buy and raise is a HEAVY heavy burden. You can't ever leave it home buy itself more then a day, because if you go on a vacation, or leave it alone for a week or 2, you could destroy any sort of bond you've developed with the cat. Expect this for 20 years of your life. You can't have kids, due to it being a wild animal that could mistaken your child for a chicken. You can't let it go outside with out some sort of restraint, due to the fact most wild cats have the instinct to leave its parents to pursue its own territory. Expect territory markings. Expect not having ANY animals that could be considered food to the wild cat.

Save yourself the trouble and get a crossbread that still has the instincts of a domesticated cat. Unless you are FULLY prepared to dedicate your life to a wild cat.

There is nothing interesting on the site, really. Some stupid comments of owner and nothing else.

Actually there is some kind of cross you can get that is half domestic cat half fishing cat. Not sure what they look like, or whether or not they fish.

What you say about the wild cats isn't entirely true. Obviously it's a commitment, but if you can raise it properly then it's not going to be a killing machine.
