Diagnosis Needed! Anonymous
So /an/ I don't know where else to turn, last night I rescued this little kitten. It's very young but i fed it and such, the only problem is it's right eye is bulged/bugged out. I need to know if anyone can tell me what it is/how to fix it. ONE MILLION internets to who ever can halp my kitteh, it's life may depend on it. For more angles of the eye i uploaded a video to youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vx_aR8P-7Cs

had a hailstorm once, a hawk landed in my yard after being hit by the hail. it's eye looked like that, so maybe just a trauma injury. the hawk flew away half an hour later, so can't say how the eye turned out.

you might want to research feline anti-inflammatories.

/g/ - Your online vet.

For goodness sake, take the cat to the fucking vet if you're so worried about it. What the hell kind of horrible owner are you?

If you can't pay, you can't pay. They'll still treat the cat.

It could be a number of things. I've seen this happen to animals for reasons ranging from head trauma, glaucoma, and cancer building behind the eye.

Some vets are willing to set up a payment system for pet owners with limited funds. Also, if you do not think you can take care of him properly, you might have to surrender him to a local humane society. There, he might get the treatment he needs.

Do not go to the vet expecting free treatment. They have to make a living as much as anyone does, and if work gets out that they let one kitten slip by unpaid, people may begin lining up at their door expecting free treatment. This happened to a local vet of ours that ended up having to move her office.

I seriously suggest you take it to the vet. Find one that will bill you.

I've seen cases similar to this where the eye gets so swollen it eventually has to be removed, or is destroyed on it's own.

Is the cats eye leaking a lot? Like does it's eye run?

If it does and the liquid is clear, then its just swollen. It'll be fine.
If the liqiud is brown or reddy brown the take it to the vet. NOA. Or at least get a second opinion.

The eye hardly leaks at all, but as far as i can tell when it has it's been clear, i really appreciate the advice anon. There's some tornadoes rolling in where im at so i can't go today but i'm going to try to get to the vet somehow (it's 15, 20 miles away i live in a shitty middle of nowhere town)
