So the water bottle feeder I got for my new rats appears to be a piece of shit, and it constantly leaks. We can't go out to get another one until tomorrow, and I can't just put a tiny bowl of water in there for them since they keep knocking it over.

Right now I have a mason jar laying in their cage turned on its side, filled up with water to the rim so that they can walk into the mouth of it and drink from there....think they'll be fine for the night with that? I don't want them to not realize that's their water, then get dehydrated through the night or something.

Rats can go for a few days without water if need be, so even if they don't figure it out (which they will) they'll just be thirsty.

Lixit glass bottles are the best, btw. If you can't find them, L&M plastic ones have good valves and don't leak.
