i am assuming that most of the people here like cats the most, but i was debating whether or not to get a cat or dog

i've had dogs before, but my parents always kept them outside cause they were dirty

i was wondering if cats really stink up a place with "cat smell" or should i just get an outdoor dog?

btw, i if cat then i would get a maine coon cat or can you not really predict cat's temperament like with dog breeds?

op here, do cats hide their crap everywhere like under beds, behind cabinets and in shoes like i've heard?

I have never heard anything like that. If you keep their litterbox clean I can't think that would be a problem. I've had cats all my life and never experienced an issue as long as I kept up on the cleaning.

I've always had cats that are free to go outdoors if they wish to. This results in that they very rarely use the litter box, and therefore the smell in the house is minimal. They are very clean animals, so the only thing you should have a problem with is keeping the food non-smelly and remove cat hairs from everywhere.

I'm planning on getting a maine coon as well. Wonderful creatures.

It's really easy to keep cats from smelling if you have the space in your bathroom for a litterbox. I keep my cat's in there and then every time I go in the bathroom, I change the cat's litter (flushable). No one even knows I have a cat until she comes around.

I live in Maine. Make sure you really want a Coon Cat before you get one. They're enormous.

And yes different cats have different temperaments but most people don't care too much about cat breeding so it's not as good as dog breeding.

Is a city fag.
Cat's don't smell. Dogs smell, but baths take care of that.

Cat's are hard to predict. I bought one of the most outgoing breeds and it was a lethargic little thing.

Outdoor cats ARE NOT A GOOD THING!!! In the city or in the countryside. People torture cats, cats kill birds, cats get eaten by wild animals, cats get run over and they end up bringing many a dead thing on your doorstep. IF you do decide to go with an outdoor cat, go get it a bell and a tag. the bell will repel birds and a lot of animals.
