I need some help. I know 4chan is the last place I should LOOK for help but Google wasnt very helpful.

My cat has been BUGGING THE HELL OUT OF ME lately. Hes 20lbs and a himilayan. I have two chairs in front of my computer. I sit in the one in front of the moniter and either my gf or my cat sit in the other. When ever my cat is there, he sometimes does this whiney, nagging meow and tries to kind of reach out and tap me or tug on my cloths (and skin sometimes). I usually either go "OW!" and he ducks down and puts his ears back and acts all ashamed and scared and sad, or when he just grabs my clothes, I turn and ask him what he wants and he just keeps nagging and kinda reaching out and tugging at me.

What the fuck does my cat want?

you sure what he sees on your computer monitor isn't disturbing him. He might be trying to warn you about monitor demons!

Wheel his chair out of the room. With him in it.

maybe he wants to have a man to cat talk with you about killing off your girl friend

Have you tried clubbing him?

I dont know if he is seriously that smart. Although he DOES try to pick shit up liek a human. When I used to give him catnip, when he was young he would eat it out of my hand. Now he insists that you put it on the ground. Then he kind of puts his paw on it and hooks his claws into it and eats it out of his own hand like a human. Also he rarely does normal meows. They usually have a lot of syllables and stuff. And lastly, I caught him the other night trying to turn the doorknob to my room. He got up on my hamper and was reaching and like pawing at the doorknob while balancing.

Wow that was all irrelivent... and I cant spell.

OP here again. One last bit of info. He had fleas recently but I put frontline on him so I think they arent bothering him as much anymore. Also his collar happens to be a chain bracelet I used to wear when I was angsty. Like its an actual chain, but it isnt that heavy.... the metal might not even be metal... or it could be something light like aluminum. My point is that hes had it one for years and it doesnt seem that heavy... Could that be bugging him though?

The thing wants attention. If your GF has been babying him a lot, he'll have gotten used to it. The fact that he only does it when she isn't there reinforces that theory.

'Why aren't you babying me as well? Don't you love me anymore? Dad? Dad?' is a basic translation of the pawing, imo.

If you're not into kitty hugging that much, try to ignore it or keep very outrageously shouting 'OW' at him as you've been doing (or look into the plantmister as an option), and if you don't mind hugging your cat, pick him up and give him a cuddle and see if he's satisfied after that.

I have a cat who acts like that all the time, cuddling up to me, complaining with a whiny voice when I'm not looking at him, climbing over me, patting my arms or face with his paws, basically annoying whenever he is awake.
bottom line: the little bastard wants love and attention. (awwww)

when I'm not in the mood to cuddle, I grab him, throw him around a bit, play "airplane", turn him on his back, kned his paws and ears, basicially annoy him back (= play with him like an older cat plays with kitten, a bit rough, but not mean) until he has enough and realizes that attention at the moment means being bullied. he then trots off and waits for cuddling time.

it works.

My cat sits on my foot and sticks her claws in your leg for attention; she just wants a bit of a fuss and a play before she's happy and goes off and sleeps.

Good advice on the last three or so posts.

Just watch your gf and see what she does. She probably caresses your cat as she plays on the net. He just wants that from you too.

Cat obviously wants attention. Do you play with him a lot?
