Full size ones are usually laid back and act like normal dogs. A friend of mine had one and it was a great dog. He'd come and sleep next to you on the couch. It's the teacup ones that I hate. I've seen a total of one that wasn't trembling and yapping constantly. It's like something is broken in their brain. Interestingly enough, the one that I did see that didn't behave like a terrible monster looked like one. It was apparently called an "apple headed" chihuahua, and the words "hideously deformed" do not even begin to describe this tiny monstrosity. Its long, anteater-like tongue was too long for its mouth, and hung almost to the floor most of the time. Its head was bulbous like a hydrocephalic, and its muzzle was short and its teeth were crowded. The thing was hideous. Its tininess only added to the sense of its deformity, it would fit in my hand. Sweet little dog, though.
